One night, forgot to take my vitamins. I couldn't fall asleep.

• 0:03Gary Brecka?

  Because your mind was awake.

• 0:05Speaker 00

Yeah, my mind was just like everywhere, thinking of so much things. And I couldn't like shut my brain down. My dad said sunscreen can be bad for your skin and there's chemicals in it. So I don't put sunscreen on my skin. But if I get like a sunburn or something, my dad, he has like an aloe plant and he'll cut up some and then he'll rub it all over us, even if we don't like it. And then we look way better than I said.

• 0:30Gary Brecka?

You know, so many brands of sunscreen have actually been taken off the market because they cause cancer and they're supposed to prevent cancer from the sun.

• 0:36Speaker 00

A lot of people who are watching this might change their diet because a lot of people have been changing their diet since you started this company.

• 0:45Gary Brecka?

What advice would you give to kids your age? What would you say if they're like, I just love Doritos? That's what I want to eat. How do they change their habits?

• 0:56Speaker 00

Well, if they change their habit.

• 1:10Gary Brecka?

Hey guys, welcome back to the Ultimate Human Podcast. I'm your host, Gary Brecka, human biologist, where we go down the road of everything anti-aging, biohacking, longevity, and everything in between. And today's guests, guests, plural, are probably going to be my two favorite podcast guests of all times. I have brought a new angle to the Ultimate Human Podcast, and this is the angle coming from the little guys. Right, we're going to hear from two of the healthiest nieces in the world. Welcome to the podcast, Anya and Coral Young. Can you guys tell the audience which of you is which? What are your names?

• 1:53Speaker 00

Hi, my name is Coral. My name is Anya.

• 1:56Gary Brecka?

And how old are you guys?

• 1:57Speaker 00

  I'm seven. And I'm nine.

• 2:00Gary Brecka?

She's seven, she's nine. So Anya and Coral Young, these are my, these are my nieces. They are my wife's sister's children. And they are two of the healthiest young kids in the world. And today, we're gonna go down the road of nutrition in young children. Because moms and dads, listen up. Your kids can learn how to eat, what to avoid, what to gravitate towards, what the healthy snacks they prefer. And they can actually enjoy their bedtimes. So, here we go. We're gonna, it says a speed round of questions. Are you guys ready?

• 2:31Speaker 00

  Yeah, I think so.

• 2:33Gary Brecka?

Alright. Five questions, rapid fire. What is your favorite food?

• 2:37Speaker 00

  Cherries. Probably frozen cherries too.

• 2:40Gary Brecka?

Wow, frozen cherries. Okay. Do you like to go to bed?

• 2:48Speaker 00

  Yes.

• 2:49Gary Brecka?

Hmm. You like getting a good night's sleep, huh? How do you feel after you get a good night's sleep?

• 2:53Speaker 00

Um, probably really like, good. And once I like, it's a school night, like, you might wanna like, sleep really good.

• 3:02Gary Brecka?

  Hmm.

• 3:03Speaker 00

I feel a lot better than not sleeping.

• 3:06Gary Brecka?

Yeah, that's a good, that's a good point. Um, what's your favorite soda?

• 3:10Speaker 00

  Um...

• 3:10Gary Brecka?

  Trick question.

• 3:12Speaker 00

I don't have a favorite soda. The only time I would ever drink soda, um, like I did this summer, was, um, when we went to Italy. We were allowed to have Mexican Coke. But that's because it, they actually use real type of sugar and not fake.

• 3:29Gary Brecka?

Wow. Is that your favorite too?

• 3:31Speaker 00

  Yeah.

• 3:32Gary Brecka?

Okay. What's your favorite drink then?

• 3:34Speaker 00

Um, probably, uh, probably like, water or sparkling water. But if I had to pick like, a special drink, it would probably be, uh, cranberry juice.

• 3:47Gary Brecka?

  Hmm. What about you?

• 3:49Speaker 00

Um, same water and sparkling water, but I would also think, um... An Ollie Pop, it's like a seltzer water, but it like it tastes like a soda, but it's really just healthy.

• 4:00Gary Brecka?

Wow, big shout out to Ollie Pop. So guys, when we started this journey, do you remember we did that little Q-tip test where we put the Q-tip in your mouth and then we got those different colored rectangles came back and we put them up on the TV in your, in your living room one day? And we were able to look at those colored rectangles and say, that's Anya, that's Coral. Cause one of you is a rule follower. One of you, not so much.

• 4:27Gary Brecka?

Right? Who's the rule follower over here?

• 4:29Speaker 00

  Probably her. Me.

• 4:31Gary Brecka?

  Yeah, yeah. Definitely.

• 4:32Speaker 00

Well, I can follow rules, but like sometimes I'll just be really hyper.

• 4:37Gary Brecka?

You'll be really hyper. Okay. And what about you? Like sometimes, you know, we, we didn't really know how to tell our mom and dad that we were feeling anxiety. We were feeling anxious, right? So why don't you talk about that a little bit? Like what kinds of things were making you feel fearful and making you feel like a little anxious?

• 5:00Speaker 00

I feel like, um, we used to have, um, these type of pretzels. And my mom and dad didn't notice that it had folic acid in it. And I was having them and I would get sick all the time. And then when it came to the point where you guys figured out that folic acid wasn't good for us, then we stopped having the folic acid and started turning it over to folic acid free. So folic. I think it's what it's called.

• 5:30Gary Brecka?

And yeah, folate. Um, and then, and how did you feel after that?

• 5:34Speaker 00

I felt a lot more better and I felt more happier.

• 5:38Gary Brecka?

Right. And what about you Coral? Why, you guys take vitamins every day, right?

• 5:43Speaker 00

  Yeah.

• 5:44Gary Brecka?

And do you notice a difference when you take your vitamins and you don't take your vitamins?

• 5:48Speaker 00

Probably because like, once we take our vitamins, we just feel like calm and we don't get all crazy and like anxiety, like my mom and dad. And then when we do, we'll, we just feel like really calm.

• 6:03Gary Brecka?

I just sold out vitamins on Amazon to every mother in the world.

• 6:06Speaker 00

I feel, when I take my vitamins, I feel more happier and more. calmer and um I don't feel like I wanna um express my madness to other people and just um express it on to them when they don't when they didn't actually mean it and it just makes me sometimes wanna flick people off but I don't ever do that I don't ever do that

• 6:29Gary Brecka?

when you mean flick people off you're like hey how you doing

• 6:33Speaker 00

Chinese middle finger there you go

• 6:35Gary Brecka?

okay okay well there there we have it I mean kids pick up the darnedest things at school nowadays says public school system just not not what it used to be

• 6:44Speaker 00

I mean like do you know what the word yacht means cuz if you don't then you should probably go back to school

• 6:50Gary Brecka?

yes I know what a yacht

• 6:51Speaker 00

  okay what about sigma

• 6:53Gary Brecka?

  no

• 6:54Speaker 00

okay you should probably go back to school and learn

• 6:56Gary Brecka?

wow hey this is my podcast I'm the smart one here okay I will ask the questions okay so um so you take your vitamins you really enjoy taking vitamins you feel a lot better on them and since we started working together and your mom and dad started really uncovering the benefits of not eating folic acid and and eating whole foods what are some of the things that you see your friends eating that you guys just don't eat

• 7:23Speaker 00

probably like um these cheese puffs and um goldfish and cheezits and like che uh cheetos and doritos and like a bunch of stuff where we're just like in my class um so my teacher has to sometimes pack pass out snacks and um and she for like the last week um she's been passing out snacks where I realize I'm not allowed to have this I'm gonna back out and not eat snack and tell my mom

• 8:02Speaker 00

hey you forgot to pack me a snack I just want to remind you um like there's bad snacks that my teacher um didn't realize that I'm not allowed to have

• 8:13Gary Brecka?

what are some of those bad snacks

• 8:15Speaker 00

  probably like cheezits and

• 8:21Gary Brecka?

what kind of stuff is in cheezits and doritos like why can't you eat those things folic acid

• 8:26Speaker 00

and there's um red dye so dye um there is also

• 8:33Speaker 00

Um, what do you call it?

• 8:35Gary Brecka?

  MSG?

• 8:36Speaker 00

  Yeah, MSG.

• 8:37Gary Brecka?

Yep, that's a bad one. If you know that word, I will give you a hundred dollars. If you know what MSG stands for.

• 8:44Speaker 00

  I've heard of it before.

• 8:45Gary Brecka?

  Mono?

• 8:48Speaker 00

I've heard of it before, but I just heard that it was MSG.

• 8:51Gary Brecka?

I knew my hundred dollars was safe. It's monosodium glutamate, but MSG is like a flavoring that they use down a lot of Chinese food too. But food dies, you're right, folic acid, all of this stuff, they're cooked in seed oils. But do you feel like you're missing out? Because what kind of things do you eat that you like to eat? So you don't feel like you're missing out on Doritos and Cheetos and, and Goldfish and all of those things?

• 9:14Speaker 00

Probably like cucumbers and fruit and um.

• 9:18Gary Brecka?

I notice you eat a lot of that.

• 9:19Speaker 00

Yeah, and if we have a snack to eat, it would probably be like crackers or like some uh chips that we can have. Like made good and um there's some annies that we can have, but in some annies, they put um bad things in it that we're not allowed to have.

• 9:40Gary Brecka?

  Like the folic acid.

• 9:41Speaker 00

Yeah, like the birthday cake ones were allowed to have.

• 9:45Gary Brecka?

Well, you know, when you see things like birthday cake and some of these things, you know, not the actual birthday cake, but birthday cake flavor, you know, there's preservatives, right? And sometimes those aren't the best things for you guys to eat, but you, you don't look or sound like you're missing out on your favorite snacks. What are now like some of your favorite things to eat? Cause I see you guys eat a lot of veggies, you eat a lot of carrot sticks, you eat a lot of tomatoes, blueberries. I see those on your treat trays all the time. It makes me so happy, but um just so like other kids out there are going, ew, I couldn't eat that. I like Doritos. Um, you know, tell me why you don't feel like you're missing out.

• 10:21Speaker 00

Well, cause like if I was missing out, then I would be probably kind of happy. Cause if I ate all of that stuff, it's like bad for you and it has like bad stuff in it and like your parents like don't know that, so.

• 10:40Gary Brecka?

But how does it make you feel? You, you told me one day that you notice a difference when you eat that kind of food.

• 10:46Speaker 00

Yeah, um, when I eat. All that type of food um I um I don't feel good and sometimes I get a stomach ache and I don't and I don't like um feel like my normal self when I when I don't have that like when other people are eating like cake with gluten and they're eating um they're eating Burger King and they're eating all that stuff I'm looking on the bright side because I know that when I eat that stuff I become mad and that I don't feel good and then sometimes I express it on my mom and then

• 11:31Speaker 00

no and then I kinda just go to a corner and express my feelings by myself

• 11:38Speaker 00

  so I'm happy I don't eat

• 11:41Speaker 00

no not timeout but I mean like I just put myself there

• 11:44Gary Brecka?

you put yourself there cuz sometimes you just feel so much anxiousness or so much anxiety that you just wanna just leave the room and go be by yourself and just let it calm down and I've seen you do that before do you feel a difference when you eat bad food versus when you eat the good foods

• 11:59Speaker 00

I eat like Dairy Queen or of McDonald's or all that bad stuff I would probably get a like stomach ache like when I was with my Nona I ate bad ice cream and unaccidentally and I got a stomach ache so then I didn't do that ever again until until my mom said like I'm okay and the next morning I felt fine

• 12:27Gary Brecka?

Nonas are known for that right Nonas break the rules

• 12:30Speaker 00

  it's more Papa's

• 12:32Gary Brecka?

and you notice that Nona broke the rules with the rule breaker not with the rule follower they know where the the weak chain you know the weak link is

• 12:40Speaker 00

they know where we have to stop and like like be like okay we're gonna take a break from this stuff let's go any something like we go to Food and Thought and they have these um ice cream sandwich bars um I think my um your wife just got me some

• 12:58Gary Brecka?

  your aunt Sage

• 12:59Speaker 00

  is my aunt Sage

• 13:01Gary Brecka?

  that's my wife

• 13:08Speaker 00

I eat those and we have a lot of fun eating them because we eat them and it just tastes delicious and it tastes like something like that other kids are able to taste but um but more in like a healthier way

• 13:22Gary Brecka?

yeah so what do you guys consider to be like some good foods and what are considered to be some bad foods and what are some bad foods you used to eat that you don't eat anymore

• 13:33Speaker 00

well some uh goldfish we used to eat that our Nana and Papa bought for us until we heard about this and my mom said you can't eat them anymore so that's probably one probably some cheez its that we used to have

• 13:51Gary Brecka?

yeah I don't see those around the house anymore

• 13:53Speaker 00

uh-huh and then um probably well those are the only things that I remember so I remember being able to um before she was even born to be able to have um pretzels um and I would just eat a whole bag like every day

• 14:14Gary Brecka?

and that's when you actually would feel mad sometimes and

• 14:17Speaker 00

and I would yell on my mom and my dad and then I would pow in a corner

• 14:23Gary Brecka?

yeah all that stuff that doesn't you want to take your hats off because they the you can't even see oh there we go it's the bright light yeah take off the all that we just had to we just had to promote the ultimate human swag gear um it's the hottest selling item on Amazon they can't keep it in stock anywhere in the world um these shirts are flying on the shelf you two are lucky to have those

• 14:45Gary Brecka?

so what kinds of things do you do you ever tell your friends this like hey maybe the way reason why you're sad or the reason why your tummy is upset um or the reason why you get angry or you feel anxious or anxiety maybe maybe it's what you're eating and do you ever talk to him about maybe you could try changing your snacks and change your the foods you're eating a little bit

• 15:04Speaker 00

well I don't really say that but I say like when I wore this shirt to school I said I'm in a ultimate human with my aunt Sage and Uncle Gary and um I eat healthy food so I'm not like all of all the bad stuff like Doritos and cheez its and all that stuff that we already talked about

• 15:26Gary Brecka?

well if you're eating so much healthy food why are your teeth falling out

• 15:29Speaker 00

they are because because she's like she's seven she is like I lost a bunch of teeth but they grow

• 15:35Gary Brecka?

oh I thought maybe like on the side you're having sugar and your teeth were falling out

• 15:39Speaker 00

  no

• 15:39Gary Brecka?

they're coming back yeah and you guys are so coffee

• 15:44Gary Brecka?

  Well, you did do a-

• 15:45Speaker 00

Well, that happened from a friend. She kind of had the cough and then she kind of spread it accidentally.

• 15:50Gary Brecka?

So I love that you're coughing right into my microphone, because that's usually my chair.

• 15:54Speaker 00

I'm coughing over here. I'm coughing into my hand.

• 15:57Gary Brecka?

  And, you know.

• 16:00Gary Brecka?

See, the suggestion that you need to cough is making you cough. So here's the other cool thing that I love that you guys do. Now, let's switch to like some of the fun activities that we do. Like, first of all, we're not afraid of the sun, right?

• 16:12Speaker 00

  No.

• 16:15Speaker 00

Well, sunscreen I think is, my dad said it's, um, there's sunscreen that's, um, sunscreen can be bad for your skin and there's chemicals in it.

• 16:24Gary Brecka?

  Mm-hmm.

• 16:24Speaker 00

And when you put it on your skin, it's just not good for you. So I don't put, um, sunscreen on my skin. But after, like, if I get like a sunburn or something, my dad, he has like an aloe plant and he'll cut up some and-

• 16:39Gary Brecka?

He literally does go cut it right out of the yard.

• 16:40Speaker 00

Yeah, he'll cut it out of the yard, cut it, let all of the, um, icky stuff flow out of it and then he'll rub it all over us even if we don't like it. And then we feel-

• 16:51Gary Brecka?

  We don't like it.

• 16:51Speaker 00

And then we look way better the next day.

• 16:54Gary Brecka?

You feel better the next day.

• 16:55Speaker 00

  Way better.

• 16:56Gary Brecka?

Yeah, you can use, uh, beef tallow and zinc, things like that. You know, so many brands of sunscreen have actually been taken off the market because they cause cancer and they're supposed to prevent, um, cancer from the sun. Yeah.

• 17:08Speaker 00

  Yeah.

• 17:08Gary Brecka?

That seems a little crazy, right?

• 17:09Speaker 00

Uh, someone, um, someone who I know told me that, um, um, it was an adult and they were like, "You should always wear, um, sunscreen every day to prevent your skin from the sun in case if you get like, um, skin cancer." And I'm thinking to myself, "My Aunt Sage and Uncle Gary are health people and they tell me that some types of sunscreen that you're wearing right now prevents you getting cancer, um, skin cancer."

• 17:43Gary Brecka?

This is my personal favorite, the brownie bar. This is gonna sound crazy. It has raw cacao, it's got MCT oil, it's got coconut oil. You'll see when you open these, you will see the raw food in this pressed bar. I mean, it's just amazing. Look at all of the raw food that you can see in there. It's actually green cabbage, broccoli. I know those don't sound like they go well together, but wait till you taste this. You can press Whole Foods into a bar like this and it tastes just like a brownie. This is my absolute go-to favorite. If you just keep breaking this apart, you'll just see all the raw food in there. The raw cacao, you can see the shiny nuts in there. This is a great way to sneak vegetables into your kid's day because it's packed with organic vegetables. So you can get broccoli and green cabbage into their diets and it tastes just like a brownie.

• 18:28Gary Brecka?

It's amazing. Oh my God, that is so good. That is my go-to favorite. You're gonna love it too. Now let's get back to the Ultimate Human Podcast. That's right. Well, some of the sunscreens can actually, you know, have been linked to causing skin cancer. We can use natural things like beef tallow and zinc and things like that. I mean, do your friends wear a lot of sunscreen?

• 18:50Speaker 00

  Yes.

• 18:51Gary Brecka?

Well, it's not, all sunscreens aren't that bad for you. But the other thing that's really cool that you guys do, talk about some of your favorite things to do at Uncle Gary's house. We had the cold plunge. You gave me a very chilly hug today.

• 19:04Speaker 00

Oh, yes. Yes, after my four-minute cold plunge, yes.

• 19:09Gary Brecka?

You did four minutes in the cold plunge? Have you done that long?

• 19:12Speaker 00

Um, no. I did one minute because like my dad told me if you like go in for too long, you get like too cold. So I didn't really want to do that.

• 19:21Gary Brecka?

You're little, you don't need that much time. But we do lots of other fun stuff, right? Like you've been in the sauna?

• 19:27Speaker 00

  The red light bed?

• 19:28Gary Brecka?

  The red light bed?

• 19:29Speaker 00

  Oh, the hydrogen bath?

• 19:31Gary Brecka?

The hydrogen bath? They love, you love coming over here and doing the biohacking stuff, right? Which one's your favorite?

• 19:37Speaker 00

  Uh, probably the hydrogen bath.

• 19:41Gary Brecka?

  Why? Because it's warm?

• 19:42Speaker 00

Mm-hmm. And it gives like, because last time I came here, I went in there and it, all the stuff, like all the scrapes and all of the like, stuff that you got hurt with makes it feel better and the next day.

• 19:57Gary Brecka?

And it heals super fast, right?

• 19:58Speaker 00

  It heals really fast.

• 19:59Gary Brecka?

  Yeah. Bug bites, scabs.

• 20:02Speaker 00

Like I had a full scrape right here and it was like a full-on scrape. Like it was a full on scab and I just went to the hydrogen bath and I come out, I look at my knee and I'm like, oh my gosh, it's all gone.

• 20:15Gary Brecka?

Yeah, it's pretty wild how that works, right? It's very anti-inflammatory. So, um, which you say your favorite is the hydrogen bath. How do you feel when you get out of a cold plunge?

• 20:25Speaker 00

Probably really nice, like once you're, once you're like sweating hot, you really wanna go in it and like that's how I feel. So like I think that I'm sweating hot and then I go in there and it feels really cold, but it makes you feel really better. So when I get out, I feel really chilly, but it feel, it's good for your skin.

• 20:49Gary Brecka?

  How about you?

• 20:50Speaker 00

Um, so we have a cold plunge at our house.

• 20:53Gary Brecka?

Well, you want my favorite picture of you guys. It wasn't really a cold plunge. It was a cooler. Did your dad put some ice in and then put some water in and then you guys got in it. Remember that one before you had the cold plunge?

• 21:05Speaker 00

And, um, so we have a cold plunge now, like a real cold plunge in our garage. And, um, uh, my dad does it a lot before we go to bed because it's supposed to help you like calm down and um, it just kind of helps you like settle in and.

• 21:21Gary Brecka?

I remember when I first started my company, almost, almost 10 years ago, your dad was actually cold plunging. I thought he was out of his mind. And then five years later, I was like, the cold plunge king, I teach cold plunge course. So sometimes your dad's like way ahead of his time with all the nutrition stuff, like the aloe plant, I think he got. From, I mean, that's been around for centuries, right? And sometimes, you know, what's always been around, just the basics makes, makes things a lot better, right? Do you know any of your friends that do any of these things?

• 21:51Speaker 00

Um, I don't think so, but like some people said they still eat some of the stuff that we do, but they, but some of the stuff that they eat, they don't. So I don't think so, cause they like never done it, but I think they like jumped in something cold or like had, had.

• 22:13Gary Brecka?

Accidentally got in their cold pool.

• 22:14Speaker 00

Yeah, I know some friends who take the vitamins we take. What we call sage vitamins.

• 22:19Gary Brecka?

  Yeah.

• 22:20Speaker 00

  Sorry, Uncle Gary.

• 22:22Gary Brecka?

That's okay. She deserves the credit. She helped develop them. But they're called methylated vitamins. These are vitamins that are already broken down as opposed to the vitamins that you guys had before, like just basic off the shelf vitamins.

• 22:34Speaker 00

Yeah, and um, some of my friends, um, like one of my best friends who I've known for like ever, they take the vitamins and um, we went on vacation with them and they all forgot their vitamins. And we have like our whole thing of vitamins and we just like pass it all out to them and.

• 22:54Gary Brecka?

And did they like them? Did they?

• 22:55Speaker 00

  Yeah.

• 22:55Gary Brecka?

Yeah. See, because it's amazing what happens when we put things into our bodies, like vitamins and minerals and nutrients, and then all of a sudden we feel better and our mood improves and our tummy doesn't hurt as so much. And we don't feel those sensations of fear, right? Which is what anxiety is and we don't get so, we don't get so worked up. Do you think that it's actually helped you guys sleep?

• 23:17Speaker 00

Um, a little, like I'm not like a deep sleeper, but I, I sleep really good, so. I think it helps me, um, like one night I forgot to take my vitamins that night and um, I couldn't fall asleep.

• 23:34Gary Brecka?

  Cause your mind was awake.

• 23:35Speaker 00

Yeah, my mind was just like everywhere thinking of so much things like tests and all that stuff and I couldn't like shut my brain down.

• 23:44Gary Brecka?

Mm-hmm. That's so much more common than you think and most adults have that too. They go to bed tired, but they can't go to sleep because their mind is awake and they start thinking about all the things that they missed during the day and they start thinking about what they gotta do tomorrow. So what advice would you give to kids your age? By the way, how old are each of you?

• 24:01Speaker 00

  Um, we already said that.

• 24:03Gary Brecka?

No, but I'm, I'm, I'm senile. I'm like Joe Biden. I forgot. How old are you?

• 24:08Speaker 00

Oh my god, I'm, I'm seven.

• 24:12Gary Brecka?

  You're seven?

• 24:13Speaker 00

  Yeah, nine. Remember that, nine.

• 24:15Gary Brecka?

Wow. Maybe somebody's just tuning into the podcast. Calm down. If you guys are hard talent to work with, I will have a word with your agent.

• 24:25Gary Brecka?

You have a mom, that's your agent.

• 24:27Speaker 00

  Wait, that is?

• 24:28Gary Brecka?

Yeah, she's your agent, your publicist, your attorney.

• 24:32Speaker 00

Oh yeah, I mean like she does make my breakfast for me, my lunch for me, my dinner for me. She does do our lunch, I mean our laundry and all that mom stuff.

• 24:43Gary Brecka?

You guys have a whole staff of one person, so congratulations. But what advice would you give to kids your age, seven and nine? What would you say if they're like, "I just love Doritos and Cheetos and I love Goldfish and I like pizza and I, that's what I want to eat." What would you say to them? How do they change their habits?

• 25:08Speaker 00

Well, if they changed their habits, they would be much more healthier. So if they said that to me, I'd be like, "That's all bad stuff, so you guys should change your habits." So maybe eat some like cucumbers or tomatoes or fruit. And first eat the healthy stuff first and then eat, get your dessert.

• 25:31Gary Brecka?

  That's good advice.

• 25:32Speaker 00

I think that my advice would be, um, try to like, stop eating all of that stuff. And look for things like, so there's like Fruit Loops, um, no, not Fruit Loops, Fruit Roll-Ups. Yeah, and we weren't allowed to have those until we saw Annie's Fruit Roll-Ups. And they, um, we were allowed to have it. And, um, we've been having them now because they're more healthier. They taste basically like the same thing.

• 26:03Gary Brecka?

  Right.

• 26:04Speaker 00

And we don't feel like we miss it.

• 26:06Gary Brecka?

Because it's hard when somebody really likes those kind of foods to just stop eating them because they're going to be healthier. What are some of the benefits you guys have found from eating healthy foods? And what could you say to your friends that like, "Hey, if you stop eating that stuff and starting eating healthy foods, here's what's going to happen."

• 26:26Speaker 00

Well, I would say like, you should like...

• 26:33Speaker 00

Like you should like get better and have like

• 26:37Gary Brecka?

  Not so mad

• 26:39Speaker 00

  Yeah

• 26:39Gary Brecka?

  Tummy doesn't hurt

• 26:40Speaker 00

  Yeah

• 26:41Gary Brecka?

Maybe sleep better Not feel so fearful, so anxious, cuz I think That you know, the message I wanna get out to The moms and the dads and the kids out there is You know, some of these behaviors that you have, some of these feelings that you have, I have anxiety, I have anxiousness. I'm scared to go into school, I'm up all night thinking about things, we call it ruminating on things. Um, my tummy hurts for no reason, or sometimes it hurts after meals. Maybe that all that stuff can be a part of their past, because I used to hear you guys complain about that all the time, and you don't complain about it all. You guys are never talking to me about your tummies, you never, you, I've never seen you have a temper tantrum. I, I just found out you can throw the Chinese New Year, I don't like that one very much, but

• 27:27Gary Brecka?

But, right, so you actually feel better, so actually, on the other side, there's big benefits, right?

• 27:34Speaker 00

Yeah, um, so, like, when you get to, like, when you're like, getting all those Better benefits It just makes you feel like you have like a much more happier life, and it'll Um, prevent your future to like maybe be better, and like you'll, you'll, um You'll like, um, you like Like when you are eating all that stuff, like how we used to eat some of that stuff. Um, I would always, um, I, my stomach would always hurt, and I would be like, I didn't eat anything Bad today

• 28:14Gary Brecka?

Which you thought was bad, right?

• 28:16Speaker 00

Which I thought wasn't bad, but now I realize that it's bad because of all of your, the folic acid And all that stuff that's in it, it's, um, it's preventing my brain to not, um, like Feel well, and then it like, makes my stomach not feel well, and then I don't feel well And then I get sick, and then it's just like, it doesn't turn out to be a good day, when you think you're having a good day When you think you're having a good day eating all the stuff, the junk food

• 28:48Gary Brecka?

  Yeah

• 28:49Speaker 00

I'm eating the Doritos, and you're like, oh my gosh, isn't the best day ever. Really, it's gonna turn into the worst day ever and you're gonna have a stomach ache. You're not gonna feel good and all you're want, you're gonna wanna do, this is for the boys out there. All you're gonna wanna do is lay in your bed and play video games on an iPhone or a tablet. Please don't do that at home. That's gonna, that's bad for your brain, bad for your brain.

• 29:15Speaker 00

  You should like.

• 29:16Gary Brecka?

I would, I would actually agree with that.

• 29:19Speaker 00

Going back to the boy part when Anya said you shouldn't like watch all of that bad stuff on like YouTube or all that stuff. But like if you work out or go swim in the pool or jump in the pool and like all that stuff. Yeah.

• 29:36Gary Brecka?

Yeah, when you're exercising and running around the yard, your dad's chasing you around the yard. You guys have a trampoline, you got a pool, you got a jacuzzi. You got a crazy little slide thing that you ride the car down. You guys are outside all the time. I love it. And that's how, that's how I grew up too. So every time that I um finish a podcast, I ask all my podcast guests the same question. Okay. And there's no right or wrong answer to this question. Um, but what does it mean to you guys to be an ultimate human?

• 30:04Speaker 00

It means a lot because um I see it as um for me feeling a lot more better than some people in the world who are, who maybe have um like adults, like they could um be going to the hospitals and stuff because of smoking. And I could look on the bright side and be like, I'm happy to be an ultimate human cuz I know the stuff that I'm allowed to have and that will prevent me from not having to go to hospitals and doing all that stuff.

• 30:42Gary Brecka?

So true. Prevention is the key.

• 30:44Speaker 00

Well, if I'm really happy that I'm, I have you and your wife Sage, which is my aunt.

• 30:54Speaker 00

I'm happy that you guys made this cuz if you guys didn't make this, me and Anya would still have all that tender taint trumps and anxiety and all the bad stuff that people had. So I'm really happy that you guys made this and I'm really happy.

• 31:12Gary Brecka?

Guys so much. I think you guys have been my favorite guests. Is there anything else you wanna say before we sign off? And say that's just sign, oh boy.

• 31:20Speaker 00

  I have a question.

• 31:21Gary Brecka?

  Okay.

• 31:22Speaker 00

All of the people. out there who eat hot lunch in all well if you go to Lake Park Elementary, which is me and Anya's school um all the people who eat hot lunch it has bad stuff in it like all the bread has bad full glass in it all the stuff in there is bad

• 31:43Gary Brecka?

macaroni and cheese and stuff like that maybe they could bring their lunches from home right

• 31:48Speaker 00

yeah bringing um more homemade um lunches to school would be better because watching this you would know um to look at the the ingredients and think does this have like acid or dye in it and then you would see like I can give my child this

• 32:08Gary Brecka?

and things like that well I think that's really really good advice guys I think this is gonna be one of our most popular podcasts thank you guys both for coming on today in my heart mind you guys are ultimate humans

• 32:21Speaker 00

can I say one more thing

• 32:22Gary Brecka?

  yeah of course

• 32:23Speaker 00

I would like to share my um I think they call it a methylation cause I'm proud to say it

• 32:30Gary Brecka?

  yes

• 32:31Speaker 00

um so I got um three reds but and I got a yellow and a green but that's alright because um I probably got it from my Nona

• 32:47Gary Brecka?

  yes

• 32:47Speaker 00

yeah a yellow and a green

• 32:51Gary Brecka?

that went to your mom went to you your dad's also got a role in this

• 32:54Speaker 00

I think my mom only has a yellow and a green and a yellow and a green I'm pretty sure you you never know um I'm proud to say that I have three reds because I think it's a good part about my life because I think that I can try to change my attitude from being um like an inside out uh anger so color red and try to turn it into a green and try to um try to like change like my mindset from being angry from um kind of having like a bad um Um, like, um, methylation.

• 33:36Gary Brecka?

  Mm-hmm.

• 33:37Speaker 00

But it's not bad, but I mean, like, um, from having all of that, um, into something good, like, I can focus on, like, um, me, like, speaking and, like, me, um, saying all of the stuff that I'm saying and, like, my emotions. It just helps me to remind me, cuz my Aunt Sage explained it to me, I'm sorry.

• 34:02Gary Brecka?

Oh, you're getting here, now, that's so cute.

• 34:05Speaker 00

  Um, she, I'm sorry.

• 34:07Gary Brecka?

  It's okay, Anya.

• 34:10Speaker 00

She, this is happy tears, by the way. She explained to me that, um, red's a good thing and that and that, um, it's a good thing to sometimes have red because you can focus on, um, trying to think better and it's just sometimes good for your body to remind yourself, um, try to think on the bright side that, um, you could be like that, you could try to change it and bring it to a green instead of like a red.

• 34:43Gary Brecka?

  Yes.

• 34:44Speaker 00

Or like, or like, you could change it to a yellow and it just helps.

• 34:48Gary Brecka?

And there's so many kids, Anya, I'm really glad that you're, you're speaking your heart because there's so many kids that felt the way that you did, that don't feel the way you do now. They're still trapped in that feeling of anxiousness and anxiety and not understanding why they're mad and why they're upset.

• 35:05Speaker 00

Can I please say my methylation?

• 35:07Gary Brecka?

  Yes.

• 35:08Speaker 00

  Um, I-

• 35:09Gary Brecka?

I love that you guys both know the word methylation. I mean, that's why, like, I've done a good job in this world.

• 35:14Speaker 00

Um, if you're like littler, like my age, you'll get like green and yellows cuz like if you're like older, like nine and up.

• 35:24Gary Brecka?

  Let's not call her older.

• 35:25Speaker 00

Um, it just works on like, um, like you don't have to always get it yellow or a green. Like, my whole life, I think I've always had three reds and a yellow and a green. Like, that was just your methylation of your, um, brain.

• 35:40Gary Brecka?

But the point is, we're not stuck with our genes, right? We can change our lifestyle, which you did. We can change our behavior, which you did. And you can change your diet, which you did. And when that changed, it had no effect on you. It used to run your life, you know? Mad, sad, anxious, anxiety, poor sleep, all of those things. So many people listening to this right now, their kids are going through the same thing. And they feel hopeless. And they're just, but they don't know where to start. And the simple things that you guys did to change your diet, and the simple supplements that you take, you don't take any medication. That's the important thing. You don't take medicine, you take vitamins. And you changed your diet. And you guys feel better, you look better, you sleep better, you behave better, you're calmer.

• 36:25Gary Brecka?

You cry less unless you're happy. So it's really good. Happy tears.

• 36:32Speaker 00

Can I say one more thing?

• 36:33Gary Brecka?

You can say one more thing.

• 36:34Speaker 00

A lot of people who are watching this might, like, not all of them, might change their diet, because if, like, a lot of people have been changing their diet since you started this company. And a lot of people are getting all the Tenex Health t-shirts and glasses and hats and all that stuff.

• 36:56Gary Brecka?

Amen. Guys, thank you both for coming. You are both ultimate humans. Can you come over and give me a hug? Thank you so much. You guys did such a good job. Congratulations. And guys, that's just science.
