If This Was Your Last Single Summer feat. Tunde Oyeneyin

We are so excited to have Tunde Oyeneyin back on the show IN PERSON to talk about this being her last single summer. She shares why she’s decided it’s her last summer without a partner and how she is acting accordingly, manifesting, and prepping for the right guy – and how you can do the same. She is spilling the tea on a nightmare matchmaker experience she had, a date with someone who seemed like The One…until he wasn’t, and why she doesn’t care if men are intimidated by her. In addition to the dating discussion, we chat about her being a 2026 Sports Illustrated swimsuit model and how she is more confident than ever at 40. She also shares her incredible and inspiring story of being hired at Peloton after being rejected initially, how Cody Rigsy advocated for her, and why you can’t give up on your dreams. Before Tunde joins us, we each share recent crazy experiences we had in NYC – Rayna at a massage parlor and Ashley on the streets at night. Enjoy! • 0:00Rayna Greenberg?

Okay, so you said to us that this is your last single summer.

• 0:04Ashley Hesseltine?

This is my last single summer.

• 0:24Ashley Hesseltine?

This podcast is a Dear Media production.

• 0:26Rayna Greenberg?

  Hi, guys.

• 0:27Ashley Hesseltine?

  Hi, guys.

• 0:27Rayna Greenberg?

Welcome back to another episode of Girls Gotta Eat.

• 0:30Ashley Hesseltine?

  Welcome back, June 1st.

• 0:32Rayna Greenberg?

We are back in LA after being gone for three weeks.

• 0:34Ashley Hesseltine?

  I know.

• 0:35Rayna Greenberg?

  I needed so much maintenance.

• 0:37Ashley Hesseltine?

  I can.

• 0:38Rayna Greenberg?

  You can see it.

• 0:39Ashley Hesseltine?

We're still here. So if you guys are watching, we're still here. We're recording from Dear Media in New York.

• 0:45Rayna Greenberg?

  Yeah.

• 0:45Ashley Hesseltine?

One of the first podcasts to record out here.

• 0:48Rayna Greenberg?

  Yeah, they just opened.

• 0:49Ashley Hesseltine?

Yeah, they just opened. It's so gorgeous.

• 0:50Rayna Greenberg?

It's really beautiful, so I'm excited about this spot. And we have a great episode for you guys today.

• 0:55Ashley Hesseltine?

  Yes.

• 0:56Rayna Greenberg?

We're just really excited. And I woke up this morning and I was like, here, all the maintenance I need is the last. So I gotta get Botox, filler, I need a manicure, you need a pedicure.

• 1:07Rayna Greenberg?

And listen, I was taking a walk and I went to Washington Square Park on Saturday.

• 1:10Ashley Hesseltine?

  How dare you?

• 1:11Rayna Greenberg?

I looked down at my own feet and I was like, I am humiliated to be in these streets. I got a pedicure just, I was like, I can't be in the world like this. And.

• 1:20Ashley Hesseltine?

  Okay, Raina.

• 1:20Rayna Greenberg?

It's not that foot, it's that.

• 1:22Ashley Hesseltine?

Yeah, I peeled a little off. My nails grow so fast because of that Nutraful. And I will keep a gel pedi on for a year.

• 1:30Rayna Greenberg?

  Me too.

• 1:30Ashley Hesseltine?

Like, I'll trim my own nails with the polish still on there. I think I kept my wedding pedicure on for three months.

• 1:35Rayna Greenberg?

  I know you did.

• 1:36Ashley Hesseltine?

And I was just trimming my toenails. But yeah, this is bad. And it matters in the summer. Hot take.

• 1:42Rayna Greenberg?

I only needed it because, yeah, it's 90 degrees here. My toes were so gross. And they're gross enough as is. Like, I have to do the maintenance that I can do.

• 1:50Ashley Hesseltine?

I was thinking that I would maybe dial back my manicures, just kind of be natural nails for the summer.

• 1:55Rayna Greenberg?

I don't relate to you people.

• 1:56Ashley Hesseltine?

Well, I love Julieta. Like, we spend time together every month.

• 2:00Rayna Greenberg?

  Right, you'll be a friend.

• 2:00Ashley Hesseltine?

But it's still like 90 minutes, two hours, and, you know, we like to chit chat. And, but I feel really free right now. I feel like my special is out in the world. I feel like I've been so busy from. For years.

• 2:14Rayna Greenberg?

This is freeing up the emotional space to get your nails done.

• 2:18Ashley Hesseltine?

No, I'm saying I'd feel less busy. It feels really nice. I think it's gonna be a great summer. I haven't felt like this in a really long time, where like, sometimes I'll have these moments where I'm like, I have nothing to do, really. My to-do list, I don't have anything on it. It feels really nice. You can't relate.

• 2:33Rayna Greenberg?

No, actually, I can. First of all, last year, I can relate, because you did all the work. I'm living like you in 2025. And this is officially the end of the first leg of my tour. So 28 cities. I finished off Cleveland and Pittsburgh. It would have been last week at this point. And so I have like, a break for the summer, except for two tour stops I have to make up, Salt Lake and Nashville. But I'm done. Besides that, till September, it feels nice.

• 2:55Ashley Hesseltine?

It does feel really nice. And I kept saying, it was just last year, it was like, when the tour's over, when the wedding's over, and then when the special's out in the world. And that took so much longer. And it was just like, it was a lot of energy and agony and just all the things. I feel really good. I feel really happy. So I will be able to stick to my regular manicures is the bottom line. But it's your birthday month.

• 3:16Rayna Greenberg?

Well, I'm also, now that I'm like, oh my God, I have all this free time. I'm not gonna move.

• 3:20Ashley Hesseltine?

  Yeah.

• 3:20Rayna Greenberg?

Then I gotta like, figure out how to move. And I'll keep you guys updated. I'm not trying to gatekeep. Like, when I have a place in New York, when we have a plan, we'll tell you.

• 3:28Ashley Hesseltine?

So for Raina's birthday, she's getting herself a move.

• 3:31Rayna Greenberg?

Yes, I don't know what to do. But I looked at a place today, so I'll let you guys know. And I do feel like the tour was so amazing. And thank you guys for coming out. And to share this with Ashley, to share it with Brittany Schmidt, who's one of our other best friends, to do this and have you guys come out, it just, nothing could ever mean more to me in the world. And I joke at the beginning of every show, you guys bought tickets to this without seeing a single stand-up clip of mine, but you really did. And so to have faith in me, I just, I'm very honored. So I will thank you guys for an amazing year. It is my dream come true. And thank you to Ashley for being on the road with me. And Anna, our editor, who came to the very first show of the hour before you even saw the whole hour.

• 4:09Ashley Hesseltine?

  Oh, in New York?

• 4:10Rayna Greenberg?

Uh huh. And she saw it in New York this week. And so, yeah, I'm just, I'm looking forward to the future. It's been great. Thank you guys so much.

• 4:16Ashley Hesseltine?

  Yeah.

• 4:16Rayna Greenberg?

  Let's thank our partners.

It was amazing first half of the tour. I can't wait for the second half and see how that goes and for you to be all up in these cities like Buffalo.

• 4:58Rayna Greenberg?

Buffalo is one of my fastest selling cities.

• 5:00Ashley Hesseltine?

  Was it?

• 5:01Rayna Greenberg?

  Yeah, girl.

• 5:02Ashley Hesseltine?

I love this. Are you gonna eat some wings? I never asked you this before.

• 5:05Rayna Greenberg?

So I don't wanna insult the people of Buffalo, but I really don't like Buffalo wings, but boneless-

• 5:11Ashley Hesseltine?

  Buffalo tenders.

• 5:12Rayna Greenberg?

Yeah. Why, can I ask you a question? Why do people say boneless wings and not chicken fingers?

• 5:17Ashley Hesseltine?

I just think a boneless wing is smaller. It's more wing shaped. A tender's long.

• 5:23Rayna Greenberg?

  It's the size?

• 5:24Ashley Hesseltine?

I think it's the size. Something that's a little squatty and just two inches long is not a tender.

• 5:31Rayna Greenberg?

  It's a squatty tender.

• 5:32Ashley Hesseltine?

  It's, it's a chunk. It's like a chunk.

• 5:36Rayna Greenberg?

I just never wonder, like, why don't people call them, are those nuggets?

• 5:39Ashley Hesseltine?

No, not nuggets. It's in between.

• 5:41Rayna Greenberg?

What are you saying to me?

• 5:42Ashley Hesseltine?

I feel like a boneless wing is the size between a nugget and a tender. It's like small, medium, large, nugget, boneless wing, tender.

• 5:49Rayna Greenberg?

So we're talking like one inch, two and a half inches, four inches?

• 5:54Ashley Hesseltine?

What are we talking about here?

• 5:55Rayna Greenberg?

I need Buffalo to weigh in, because when people say boneless wings, I'm like, you're so, you're so lame, because that's a chicken figure. And it's not a nugget either.

• 6:03Ashley Hesseltine?

Yes, it's between a nugget and a tender. No, Buffalo, weigh in. We need to know.

• 6:07Rayna Greenberg?

But thank you. Buffalo, really, more tickets than any other city.

• 6:11Ashley Hesseltine?

Well, we've just haven't been there.

• 6:13Rayna Greenberg?

  That's true.

• 6:14Ashley Hesseltine?

So I'm glad you'll be there. I don't wanna come in just yet, but I'll go there for the boneless wing.

• 6:18Rayna Greenberg?

If you are living here, I might make you come with me.

• 6:20Ashley Hesseltine?

  We'll figure it out.

• 6:21Rayna Greenberg?

Yeah, well, here we have time. Okay, so actually, I've been like boiling over to tell you the story. It's so crazy. And Anna, and just everybody in the world. So I, this has never happened to me in my entire life. This is insane. Just to explain to you how tired I was on Monday, I walked the length of Manhattan four times, all the way west and east twice. I was so tired.

• 6:40Ashley Hesseltine?

  What were your steps? 20,000?

• 6:42Rayna Greenberg?

  25,000 steps.

• 6:44Ashley Hesseltine?

I don't understand, like, when I'm at 18, I'm like, there could be no more. Like, people walk 30,000 steps for Coachella, like, they were posting that, and I don't understand it. Like, 20 is like, my legs are falling off.

• 6:58Rayna Greenberg?

I was, thank you, that's, so just so you know, the mindset I was in. Whole day flip flops.

• 7:04Ashley Hesseltine?

  No, you didn't.

• 7:05Rayna Greenberg?

Whole day flip flops, yes, because Melanie and I walked home after that plan, and the rats were the size of cats, and she was like, "You shouldn't be in those fucking teaks on these streets, the biggest rats I've ever seen."

• 7:15Ashley Hesseltine?

  Just running across your feet.

• 7:16Rayna Greenberg?

  Yep.

• 7:17Ashley Hesseltine?

  Okay.

• 7:17Rayna Greenberg?

25,000 steps that day, it was insane. So, by the time I got to Emily's, around 22,000, I was exhausted. So, I was going over to Emily's, and I was in Chinatown, and she was like, "I need a little more time, can you give me like, an hour?" And I was like, "I need to go somewhere. I need to, like, sit down, I am so tired." And I'm in Chinatown, and in front of me, I see this sign for massages, and I'm like, "I'll get a Chinatown, like, foot massage." And, yeah, I was like, "That will eat 30 minutes, and then I'm gonna go over to Emily's." And so I go into this basement, I don't read any reviews, I don't know what this thing is gonna, I don't know, I'm just like, "There's a sign out front, says we give massages."

• 7:53Ashley Hesseltine?

  I'm horny.

• 7:54Rayna Greenberg?

  Yeah.

• 7:56Rayna Greenberg?

So, I go to this basement, and there's all these little rooms lined up, there's like, eight rooms, they each have like, a massage bed, each room is the size of the bed.

• 8:05Ashley Hesseltine?

Yeah, I've been to like, one place like this.

• 8:07Rayna Greenberg?

Yeah. Okay, so I walk into the room, there's like, paper towels on the bed, basically, to just like, line it, instead of it. So I lay down, there's just like, a hole in the thing, I put my face in the hole, they put this sheet over me, even though I'm fully clothed, and it's 95 degrees outside, I'm sweating to death, this man comes in the room, he proceeds to give me a massage, he's pressing on areas so hard, I'm, until they go numb, and then at other points, he's going so fast around my body, he's using one hand the whole time.

• 8:35Ashley Hesseltine?

  Like a karate chop?

• 8:36Rayna Greenberg?

Yes, I'm like, "Has this guy ever touched a body before? It's insane to me." At one point, he took a phone call while he was giving me a massage, and I'm like, "Whatever, it's $30, like, you get what you pay for." I started thinking about the other things I spent $30 on this week, and like, this was a steal. So, he is just sort of... gyrating on my body and I'm like, this is so, I'm just, I should just leave. And then I hear it from the other side of the wall. Uh, it's a man moaning and this goes on for like two and a half minutes, the moaning and then the moaning just stops. And I'm like, okay, I, it's fine. I can get through the rest of this massage. I pop up at one point and I go, how much longer?

• 9:18Rayna Greenberg?

And he goes, he was like, he pointed, it was 22, I was 22 minutes in. I was like, I can get through eight more minutes of this for the story. Actually, from the other side of the wall, the other room, I hear.

• 9:29Rayna Greenberg?

And then, oh, no, Raina, shut up. I did not think these laces were real. I had no idea this was fucking real. And so I come out of the room and I'm, I pop up and I go, I think we're, I think we could just be done here. Thank you so much. He's like, you still have a few minutes left. I was like, we don't though. So I hop up out of the bed and I go into the main room. And I'm like, can I just pay? He knocks on the door of one of the jerk off rooms and some woman comes out. She just like slides out the door and she has to ring me up.

• 9:58Ashley Hesseltine?

  Hand sanitizer.

• 9:59Rayna Greenberg?

I know she heard her hands got to be covered in gum. She's like, you can use your phone here. I'm like, please don't touch anything that is touching me. It is insane. So I paid and I ran out of there. I was in a jerk off parlor.

• 10:11Ashley Hesseltine?

You were, yeah, you were like at a brothel.

• 10:14Rayna Greenberg?

Yes. I did not know these really existed.

• 10:17Ashley Hesseltine?

Are you sure this is what was happening?

• 10:19Rayna Greenberg?

Yes. It couldn't have been anything else, right? I've gotten a lot of massages in my life, never heard noises like this.

• 10:27Ashley Hesseltine?

Well, it's just like, I guess there's plausible deniability that that guy was really just enjoying it.

• 10:32Rayna Greenberg?

Totally. But the second person also on the other side of the room.

• 10:36Ashley Hesseltine?

So it was like a slap, slap, like it was like.

• 10:38Rayna Greenberg?

  Slap and tickle?

• 10:39Ashley Hesseltine?

  Like it was like a.

• 10:40Rayna Greenberg?

  Hand job.

• 10:41Ashley Hesseltine?

  Hand job sound.

• 10:45Ashley Hesseltine?

  That's not what they do.

• 10:46Rayna Greenberg?

And then a moan and then that was it. Yeah, some people like that. Listen, I don't give hand jobs like that. I don't really give hand jobs.

• 10:55Ashley Hesseltine?

I would have laughed at the moaning. I can't hear a man like.

• 10:59Rayna Greenberg?

But I thought maybe it is just somebody who's enjoying the massage.

• 11:02Ashley Hesseltine?

  A little too much.

• 11:03Rayna Greenberg?

One time I was getting a massage and I asked, this guy and I just talked the whole time, this guy in Santa Barbara.

• 11:07Ashley Hesseltine?

  I remember that one, yeah.

• 11:08Rayna Greenberg?

And I was like, what's the weirdest stuff that's happened to you during massages? And he's like, people moan. People moan kind of a lot. And I was like, that's crazy. I would never think to like out loud moan. That's like inappropriate to the person. Like it's really like, it's like verbal assault to the masseuse.

• 11:22Ashley Hesseltine?

Yeah, like every once in a while I sigh a little too loud. I'm like, reel it in.

• 11:25Rayna Greenberg?

I don't even lick my lips unless their hands are fully off of me.

• 11:29Ashley Hesseltine?

  Yeah.

• 11:29Rayna Greenberg?

Cause like sometimes my lips get dry.

• 11:30Ashley Hesseltine?

  You're signaling.

• 11:31Rayna Greenberg?

Yeah, I don't want them to touch my thigh and I'm like.

• 11:36Ashley Hesseltine?

  That's crazy.

• 11:37Rayna Greenberg?

It was insane. And I was like this, I walked in there and they were like, just get some guy off the street to massage this girl. She wants a real massage.

• 11:45Rayna Greenberg?

What this guy, he just was like, just going really fast, gyrating.

• 11:49Ashley Hesseltine?

  Doing whatever.

• 11:50Rayna Greenberg?

Yeah, he pressed on my arms until the last feeling repeatedly.

• 11:53Ashley Hesseltine?

The one hand karate chop is crazy. When you actually get karate chopped in a massage, you're like, I thought this, you guys weren't doing this anymore. We got this couples massage when we were in Mexico for Alyssa's wedding and the best I've ever had because it was overlooking the water. I can't remember if we talked about this, but Shashank and I love a couples massage and we've this, that was like our fourth one. Like we really love them. So, but this was overlooking the water. It was amazing. She was amazing. I had a great massage, but I had told her as we were walking down onto the beach, don't touch my head.

• 12:21Rayna Greenberg?

Through the oil in your hair?

• 12:22Ashley Hesseltine?

I don't want the oil in my hair. It feels nice. Of course, who doesn't love a head massage? But if they don't use oil, then it's just like dry hair. It's like, it feels like it's.

• 12:32Rayna Greenberg?

  Not in your hair.

• 12:33Ashley Hesseltine?

Kind of in your hair. I just don't like the dry, I hate it even more. So I just say, don't touch my head. Like that's my one thing. I even, when we do the, the little diagram, I put an X on my head. Cause you know how they say like, where does, where do you want them to focus on?

• 12:47Rayna Greenberg?

  A diagram my whole life.

• 12:49Ashley Hesseltine?

Oh, really? I feel like the nicest spas I've been to, they give you a little thing. They're like, what do you want us to focus on? I cry. An X through my head.

• 12:54Rayna Greenberg?

Maybe it's because I say touch everything. She doesn't need the diagram. No one's ever handed me that.

• 12:59Ashley Hesseltine?

So we have this like great, great massage. Also, by the way, the last time they touched my head, I didn't say stop and I regret it. Just like dry rubbing your hair back and forth. They feel like it's causing breakage, whatever. I was like regretful. I was like, I feel like my hair is all fucked up from that. So I'm just super sensitive to it and we'd already discussed it. She was giving me a great massage and she goes for the head. And I yell out, no head.

• 13:21Ashley Hesseltine?

I hear him like laugh. He was like, to have you getting a massage.

• 13:28Rayna Greenberg?

That's what he asked me when he walked in the room. He was like, no head?

• 13:30Ashley Hesseltine?

  No head?

• 13:31Rayna Greenberg?

Oh, you just want a massage?

• 13:33Ashley Hesseltine?

And I kind of forgot about, she was like, oh, I'm so sorry. Like I, we already discussed that. I didn't like yell it. I just was like, no head, you know, and.

• 13:39Rayna Greenberg?

No, it's a jump scare. When I go to get a massage and I, my hair is not on like wash day and they go to touch my head. I know. Jump out of that thing.

• 13:46Ashley Hesseltine?

I know. So after, I kind of forgot about it and as we've, we've, we wrap up the massage. Cause like when you yelled out, no head.

• 13:54Rayna Greenberg?

He was like, we'll see about that.

• 13:55Ashley Hesseltine?

Relax mode. Well, that's crazy. And now you've got to read the reviews on that place.

• 14:00Rayna Greenberg?

That's what Emily said. Emily said, did you not check the reviews before you walked downstairs? I was like, I, I cannot tell you how tired I was. I was like, whatever happens in there, happens in there.

• 14:08Ashley Hesseltine?

Yeah. And I mean, sometimes you just want your feet rubbed.

• 14:11Rayna Greenberg?

  Yeah.

• 14:11Ashley Hesseltine?

You've been walking, you're at 22K steps. So last night we went to dinner at a place called La Dong, which I chose it based on the name alone, but I had been craving Vietnamese food. It was incredible. It's in Union Square-ish area, La Dong. Check it out.

• 14:24Rayna Greenberg?

I was walking by because I went to Tompkins for a bagel the other day and the line was like down the block.

• 14:28Ashley Hesseltine?

Yeah. I feel proud of myself. Found this place, was able to get a rest.

• 14:31Rayna Greenberg?

  Yeah, it was awesome.

• 14:31Ashley Hesseltine?

My Chase Sapphire card. They did some like special reservations for Chase people. You know, you, you link your card.

• 14:36Rayna Greenberg?

  Yeah. I loved it.

• 14:38Ashley Hesseltine?

So you, Brittany came and met us, you walked home with her and I walked west with Megan. And this guy came up to us on the street. It's like a tall, non-threatening guy, dressed pretty feminine. But it was a dude and he was like, not an unhoused person, just to kind of tweak it out person.

• 14:58Rayna Greenberg?

  Okay.

• 14:59Ashley Hesseltine?

Weird energy and came up and was like, do you have $5? And we were like, no. And. We didn't. And he was like, well, you gotta buy me a coffee. Like, kind of demanded it. It was a weird energy. For the record, I have bought plenty of people food. I have given people money. I'm not a like, pretend these people don't exist type of person.

• 15:20Rayna Greenberg?

When it's dark and late and I'm walking home.

• 15:23Ashley Hesseltine?

Yes. And we were on like a side. We weren't on an avenue. We were on a street and it was like a dark portion of the street. Again, a non-threatening person. He had a purse. You know, it felt like there wasn't a weapon on him, but you don't know. And wouldn't let up, Raina. So the energy was really off. And he was like, you're gonna buy me a coffee, basically. And then proceeds to follow us to the point where we, when we tried to veer off, he blocked us.

• 15:48Rayna Greenberg?

  Oh, my God.

• 15:48Ashley Hesseltine?

We tried to cross the street and he like blocked us and stood there and like hands crossed and like kind of started to mock us. It was really weird. Again, I didn't feel like scared for my life.

• 15:59Rayna Greenberg?

You don't know what somebody's gonna do.

• 16:00Ashley Hesseltine?

Like, a big scary looking dude, I would have been panicked. Like, were something really bad is about to happen. But again, this is like a non-threatening type of person. And, but we still, the way that he was acting was scary. Blocking us physically and then getting in our face. And like, you're gonna buy me that coffee. I was like, oh, my God. And so I just like linked arms with Megan. I like, we'll keep walking till we get to the avenue and we'll duck into some place or whatever. So we were like almost all the way down the street to the avenue and we see these four dudes. And they were, two were sitting like on the street side and two were sitting kind of like on the opposite sides of the sidewalk, these like four dudes. And like, every single one of them, your type. Like bald, bearded, tattooed, like looked like four bouncers. I swear.

• 16:42Ashley Hesseltine?

And so we clocked them immediately. So we like, kind of like, we're like, we're gonna stop and hang out with these dudes. These dudes are gonna protect us. And we'll find Raina boyfriend. So the three of us, because this, this guy was walking with us, got up to these dudes, who again, four of them, kind of like on four corners across from each other on the sidewalk, if you can picture it. And the person who was kind of harassing us, kind of walked ahead and then we stopped. So we're, then it's like, there, he's on the other side of the dudes and we're behind. So he turns around and he's like, oh, no. Now I've like, these people are like involved. Yes. We're just standing. There and like everyone feels what's happening. The bouncers are like, yeah. And they, the one guy goes, he bothering you? And we were like, yeah. And he was like, we got you. It was hot.

• 17:27Rayna Greenberg?

And you would like, I would like you to bother my friend after this.

• 17:29Ashley Hesseltine?

So then the guy realizes what's happening. He goes, they were gonna buy me a coffee and like really starts to.

• 17:35Rayna Greenberg?

  Like a really unwell person.

• 17:36Ashley Hesseltine?

Yeah, no, it was, it was just really unsettling.

• 17:39Rayna Greenberg?

It would really scare me, Ashley, to be at night walking around by myself like that.

• 17:42Ashley Hesseltine?

It was really scary. And like the, again, the physical blocking, the mocking, it was really unsettling. And so the hottest of the four was just like, you're gonna have to get that coffee somewhere else. Like, we're just like, we got you.

• 17:53Rayna Greenberg?

It was just like a porn, Ashley. And then we all went home and fucked.

• 17:58Ashley Hesseltine?

So then the biggest one was like, let me walk you to the, what are you girls doing? You get in a cab? You getting, what are, what are you, how are you getting home? I'm gonna walk you at least up to the avenue. So he walks us up to the avenue.

• 18:07Rayna Greenberg?

Sounds like the coffee guy's a paid actor.

• 18:09Ashley Hesseltine?

I know. So he walks us up to the avenue and we just are chatting with him. They were MTA workers on their break. Getting ready to like go back to work or something. But just like, the guy, we were like, where are you from? I was super new. He was like, I'm from the Bronx. And he, again, he was the least hot of the four, but the two of them, I was like, god damn, I hate that Raina's not here.

• 18:26Rayna Greenberg?

Okay, Melanie has always told me that I should end up with an outer borough guy. She says it continuously. You should be with an outer borough guy. Like, this sounds like my guy.

• 18:34Ashley Hesseltine?

Yeah. So anyway, it just was like a weird situation. Meghan even said, like, that's the most persistent anyone's ever been. Usually, again, like, I'm happy to help people here and there. If I feel like someone's harassing me, absolutely not. And you've got to get out of that situation because you don't know what people are gonna do. And so we were both like, that was super weird, but we were rescued. Really? The chivalry is not dead?

• 18:56Rayna Greenberg?

That is so nice to hear.

• 18:57Ashley Hesseltine?

They loved it. You know, those guys fucking ate that up. Like, that made their night. We got to, like, save these women, protect these women.

• 19:05Rayna Greenberg?

Yeah, they're talking about you guys today.

• 19:07Ashley Hesseltine?

So I just thought it was like a nicest story, kinda. Like, also, it's just so New York. Like, New Yorkers to help each other.

• 19:13Rayna Greenberg?

  Where did you meet them?

• 19:14Ashley Hesseltine?

On the street, waiting to get, I guess they had to go back at 11 or something. They were on their break.

• 19:19Rayna Greenberg?

Okay. If there was like a bar you could recommend.

• 19:23Ashley Hesseltine?

Hey, were you guys gonna be tomorrow? And what train line do you work? Is there, where could we find you? If we wanted to find, if we had a friend that wanted to find you guys again, like, where would we send her?

• 19:34Rayna Greenberg?

Just ride the MTA, just ride the subway until you find us. God, I can't wait to move back here and date men here. Oh, they're so hot.

• 19:40Ashley Hesseltine?

So that was our little story.

• 19:41Rayna Greenberg?

  We're about your safe.

• 19:42Ashley Hesseltine?

Yeah, we made it. Okay, well, two, two New York stories for you guys. And we have Toon Day today, which we are so excited. And we had her in, I remember where I was when her episode aired because Dewey had just passed. And I believe

• 19:57Rayna Greenberg?

  2021.

• 19:57Ashley Hesseltine?

2021, January 2020. I believe it was, I believe it was MLK Day and inauguration day for

• 20:04Rayna Greenberg?

  Oh, my God.

• 20:04Ashley Hesseltine?

Joe Biden. Oh, no, that's a Tuesday, right? Whatever.

• 20:08Rayna Greenberg?

  It was MLK Day.

• 20:09Ashley Hesseltine?

Yeah, when her episode came out and then the next day was inauguration day, whatever. I just, I just remember this kind of specifically. So it's been over five years and we ran into her while we were here last week at the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition brunch. She is one of the models this year and we were just like, we've got to get you back on. So she's some really fun stuff to, to say and talk about.

• 20:26Rayna Greenberg?

Really excited to have her and she's written a book since we last saw her. So lots to talk to her about.

• 20:31Ashley Hesseltine?

  Yes.

• 20:31Rayna Greenberg?

So without further ado, we'll just thank our partners and we'll get into it with her.

• 20:35Ashley Hesseltine?

Okay, I am so excited to tell you guys about Every Year After. So this is a bestselling novel from Carly Fortune and it is going to be an original series on Prime based on the novel. I read this two or three summers ago. I absolutely love it and it follows Sam and Percy across six summers as they take a second chance at love that never really let go. So if you love like a slow burn friends to lovers romance, this is the one. If you like something, I'm not going to name any other shows while we're here, but if you like some set at the beach, like a lake house, beach house vibe, you might know what I'm talking about, you're going to love this. So you get this like lakeside summer aesthetic, childhood best friends. There's that tension that we love and like a one that got away element.

• 21:19Ashley Hesseltine?

It is nostalgic, emotional, so romantic, and it really captures that very specific ache of wondering what if and finally getting an answer. I love this book so, so, so much and I really love this author. I think I've DM'd with her a couple of times and she is really great. So we've all been there and just had that like summer crush friends, friends that we've had crushes on, you know, we've all, we've all

• 21:38Rayna Greenberg?

  Ruin your life.

• 21:39Ashley Hesseltine?

We've all experienced it and just all that nostalgia. And I just love something that takes place at like a lake or a beach. So you guys are going to absolutely love it. I am so happy they made it into a show. And again, you are going to watch this on Prime Video. Watch Every Year After streaming June 10th only on Prime.

• 21:56Rayna Greenberg?

Okay, and as we're talking about moving, what better time to talk about furniture? Article makes it effortless to create a stylish, long-lasting home with unbeatable prices. So Ashley and I are longtime fans of this brand and everything they do. There's tons of styles to choose from when you go to their website. So my house is more like coastal boho, but they have mid-century modern and Scandi-inspired pieces, and they have things for every room. So bedrooms, living room, of course. And since it is getting hot out, we can focus on like the outdoor stuff. I find it so hard to find high-quality outdoor pieces that don't just like really weather with the seasons. So I love what they have. This one in particular, Daphne, D-A-P-H-N-E. They have all of these like outdoor couches that are so beautiful. There's like a nice mix of fabric and wood. There's so much to choose from.

• 22:39Rayna Greenberg?

There's really high quality, like I said, so it just ages really well. The packaging is meticulous when it gets sent to you, the weight and feel of the product, and the fact that it comes mostly assembled. They offer fast and affordable shipping across the US and Canada. There's options for professional assembly, which I've always chosen to do. And their delivery is great. You can follow the driver on the way to you. Ashley and I love their customer service, and on top of that, they have a 30-day satisfaction guarantee. So with the 30-day guarantee, you can shop with confidence. And if you're not completely in love with the furniture, you can easily return it. I think you will love it, though. And there's so much to choose from. If you don't know how to style anything, check out their Instagram, check out their website. They have tons of inspo photos. And if you're in the market for a beautiful new sofa, dining table, or bed, head over to article.com. Okay, and Father's Day is coming up this month, and we are telling you about Story Worth.

• 23:23Rayna Greenberg?

You know, I always get so excited to tell you about Story Worth. So this is the absolute best gift. Rain and I have both done it for our dads. And it's so fun. So we've told you about it, but just in case you are not familiar, you're new around here. Story Worth is this beautiful book that is going to be a story about your father. And the way that they do it is each week, Story Worth sends him a question about his life, and then he responds however he wants. He can write back over email, or a voice recording, or even a guided phone call. So I think when we did this, it was they just wrote it out, and we would like look in. Our dads would be at their computers, like tip-tapping away. But now they can do these voice recordings or a guided phone call, so whatever they prefer. And then Story Worth is just going to meet him where he is at, so he can just focus on the joy of remembering and reflecting. You can pick the questions. I don't think I did this for my dad.

• 24:06Ashley Hesseltine?

I think I did it for my mom. I think my dad was just like, whatever they have pre-written is fine. He'll figure it out. The questions they have are great, but you can just choose which ones, if some don't feel relevant or ones that you really want to do. And then he'll tell the story and then Story Worth is going to compile everything, his words, his photos, his life into a beautiful hardcover book. The book is really stunning and it's not some like picture book you may be picturing, like this is a really special keepsake book. Families have used Story Worth to create over 1 million books, more than 50,000 five-star reviews. It's a treasure your family will love. You can get multiple copies. So my brother and I obviously have the copies that our parents have done and new this year is Story Worth Unlimited Plan. You guys, I can't recommend this enough. You buy this plan once and then you can give Story Worth memoirs to friends and family all year. Plus it comes with their newest features and multiple full color book copies. So

• 24:50Ashley Hesseltine?

that is truly the way to go. But whatever you choose, we just think this is the absolute perfect gift. Dads are hard to buy stuff for. So this is like truly the best. And then you're going to have this amazing keepsake book. So this year, give dad a gift that captures who he really is before the stories get harder to remember. Father's Day is Sunday, June 21st. Order right now and save up to $20 at storyworth.com/gge. Save up to $20 at storyworth.com/gge. storyworth.com/gge. And let's get into it.

• 25:19Rayna Greenberg?

Okay, guys, we are very excited to welcome back a guest today. She is a world-class Peloton instructor where she also just launched her first ever apparel collection. She is a 2026 Sports Illustrated rookie, a New York Times bestselling author of Speak, Find Your Voice, Trust Your Gut, and Get From Where You Are to Where You Want to Be. Please welcome back to the show, Toon Day Ohunane.

• 25:41Speaker 02

  Hey.

• 25:42Rayna Greenberg?

  Hey.

• 25:42Ashley Hesseltine?

  And Fetty Wap backup dancer.

• 25:45Speaker 02

Listen, just add it to the list. Yes.

• 25:48Ashley Hesseltine?

So we were so excited to run into you last week at the Sports Illustrated event. Congrats on being one of the models.

• 25:54Speaker 02

  Thank you so much.

• 25:55Ashley Hesseltine?

  How does it feel?

• 25:56Speaker 02

I mean, I'm a Sports Illustrated swim model. How do you think it feels? It feels exactly like what you think.

• 26:04Ashley Hesseltine?

  Yeah.

• 26:04Speaker 02

Well, congrats. It feels pretty surreal, pretty crazy.

• 26:06Ashley Hesseltine?

Tell us about Fetty Wap and tell us what happened.

• 26:09Speaker 02

I love that this is where we are starting. So basically they were like, you know, it's the Sports Illustrated event, like Kickoff week.

• 26:17Ashley Hesseltine?

  Yeah.

• 26:18Speaker 02

And Fetty Wap is our surprise performer. And so basically they're like, hey, go out on the stage. You're gonna announce something.

• 26:24Ashley Hesseltine?

  You specifically?

• 26:25Speaker 02

No, all the models, all the girls.

• 26:27Ashley Hesseltine?

  Okay.

• 26:28Speaker 02

So we all line up, or many of us line up, maybe some new better, but many of us line up. And we're going out there on stage. And then I realized, you're not announcing anything, like the plan has shifted. You guys are just gonna dance on stage. And so.

• 26:42Ashley Hesseltine?

That's a bait and switch, if I ever heard one.

• 26:44Rayna Greenberg?

I would be so scared. Ashley would love it, because she can like really bust down. I can't.

• 26:48Speaker 02

  I, I.

• 26:49Rayna Greenberg?

I don't know how to dance.

• 26:49Speaker 02

I needed more drinks before hitting the stage.

• 26:53Rayna Greenberg?

  Yes.

• 26:53Speaker 02

I felt like my 19-year-old self was coming out in real time. And he's looking at me, singing his song. Wanting me to like, because I'm right next to him.

• 27:03Rayna Greenberg?

  Yeah.

• 27:03Speaker 02

  And he's singing at me.

• 27:04Rayna Greenberg?

  Instructor, dance.

• 27:05Speaker 02

Vibe with me, enjoy my song with me. And I don't know the words to songs. I like, don't know words, and then once I know the word, I sing that part loud.

• 27:19Speaker 02

And so it was just, it was the most embarrassing, but also very surreal, cool moment of my life.

• 27:24Rayna Greenberg?

Where did you shoot for Sports Illustrated?

• 27:26Speaker 02

  I shot in Montauk.

• 27:28Rayna Greenberg?

Oh, you did. Okay, with Hannah Berner and all the girlies.

• 27:30Speaker 02

  And all the girlies.

• 27:31Rayna Greenberg?

The shoot looks amazing. You look incredible.

• 27:34Speaker 02

Wild. Ben Watts was the photographer. It was just incredible, you know, like. Little 12-year-old, 19-year-old, 29-year-old, 38, 39-year-old today wouldn't have believed this moment. And so to do this at 40 years old is just, it's like a testimony to myself. Like, I really believe I am just getting started. I really believe I'm in my prime. I'm in this space right now where. You know, you kind of like, sometimes like, look at old pictures of yourself and you're like, God, why didn't I enjoy that body? Why didn't I enjoy that tight skin? Like, all the things. I'm in this space in my life where I'm like, no, girl, like, right now is the best. Right now is as best as it has been. And so I'm old enough now to appreciate it.

• 28:17Speaker 02

I think like in my twenties, I wasn't able to appreciate tight skin. And now in my 40. I'm not even saying 40s, just in my 40 year, my 40th year. I'm just like really excited and grateful because I know that this part doesn't last forever.

• 28:32Rayna Greenberg?

Do you feel like, I mean, our audience is always like, how do you get confidence? And I feel the same. I feel like at 40, I'm finally not like looking at every flaw on my body, every wrinkle. I mean, listen, I do plenty of work, but I don't let it ruin my day. I don't put on an outfit and think like, I don't want to go out to dinner because of the way I look today. And it's taken me a lifetime to get there. So do you think it just comes with age? Or do you do like self-talk?

• 28:54Speaker 02

Yeah, that's real shit. I don't want to go out to dinner because I hate the way I look tonight.

• 28:58Rayna Greenberg?

That's how I, my whole teens and twenties, I was just like, this outfit looks bad. I'm in a bad mood now. I'm upset. Like, but I think, do you feel like with age, it just comes naturally?

• 29:07Speaker 02

I think that for me, confidence is knowing that it all comes back. Like, put it this way, like, if I feel uncomfortable in my body, or if I feel uncomfortable about something that I said in a meeting, the way I responded, to me, confidence is knowing that you are going to feel good in your body again. Confidence is knowing, I meant I have said the right thing in the meeting today, but I know in the next one, I'm going to speak up and speak my mind and it's going to come out perfectly. And I'm going to execute it in the way that I intend. And so to me, confidence is knowing like, it's all okay.

• 29:41Rayna Greenberg?

  And I can trust myself.

• 29:42Speaker 02

I can trust myself. It's all fine. Everything is fine. Everything is fine. Listen, I didn't slay, it wasn't the best outfit of my life. I don't feel the best, but like, I'll be on top again.

• 29:53Rayna Greenberg?

  Yes.

• 29:53Speaker 02

  I'll win again.

• 29:54Rayna Greenberg?

I know what's thinking about you.

• 29:55Speaker 02

  Yeah, right, right.

• 29:57Ashley Hesseltine?

I also just think finding the right role models. I mean, I love this issue of Sports Illustrated Swimsuit. I mean, you and Ilana Mar and Molly Sims, and she posted a thing about her age as well. And even people like Hannah Berner. I mean, these are beautiful women with real bodies and strong women and all kinds of different ways and confident women and women that are confident in their age. And I just love to see it. I think we are really pushing up against some body stuff these days that like I haven't seen since like we grew up with the thinness. And so it's just like, we've got to combat that with like real women, real confident women. And I just love all these role models. And I think it's like super important to.

• 30:41Rayna Greenberg?

For young girls too, to follow the right people and look up to the right people.

• 30:46Speaker 02

Right, right. I was reading, there was an article that came out and it was like the six celebrities over 40 who slayed it at the Sports Illustrated launch. And I was on the list and I just thought to myself, I was like, oh my God, I'm on the over 40 list. One, I was in incredible company. I mean, are you kidding me? Molly Sims, Tiffany Haddish, Nicole English. Like, hello. But yeah, also there are often times where I feel I'm often like, gosh, maybe I shouldn't have told everyone my age. Like, is that going to hold me back? Because for so long, I mean, as women, you were taught like, the ones people know how old you are in this business.

• 31:28Rayna Greenberg?

  Put her out to pasture.

• 31:29Speaker 02

Yeah, put her out to pasture. So some, every once in a while, that thought comes up. But the louder thought is, I'm doing this so that women, girls that are younger than me, know that it continues to get better with age. I'm single, I have no kids. And I can't tell you, every time that I'm on Instagram or online and I see a celebrity who is pregnant for the first time at 42, or 45, or 52, like, that builds me up. That makes me feel seen. It makes me feel like I'm not alone. And so if my story, stepping into who I am at the age of 35, if that inspires anybody, then hey, thanks. I'm happy to be on that list.

• 32:10Ashley Hesseltine?

Totally. And that, those headlines, I'm like, part of me is like, yeah, let's highlight this. And then part of me is like, what's the tone here? Like, women over 40 in swimsuits.

• 32:18Rayna Greenberg?

  She's so brave.

• 32:19Ashley Hesseltine?

Or people were talking about Hillary Duff, and she's like 38 or something. They're, can you believe it? It's like, what are we doing here?

• 32:26Speaker 02

  Yes, we can believe it.

• 32:27Ashley Hesseltine?

  Yeah, what?

• 32:29Rayna Greenberg?

Well, it's funny that we're all perpetuating this problem that like, we will all face. You will all be 40.

• 32:33Ashley Hesseltine?

  I think it's crazy.

• 32:34Rayna Greenberg?

And I think very much like our audience, mine and Ashley and Mai's audience, like has grown up with us. Yours has too, because you've been an instructor for so long. And there's, how many people are like, I've taken her classes for six, seven years. And they're growing up with you. So to see you continue to be confident about who you are is like very important, I think.

• 32:51Speaker 02

  Yeah, that's the wild thing.

• 32:52Rayna Greenberg?

  Yeah.

• 32:53Speaker 02

Like, the people that follow me, we are. We're growing up together.

• 32:56Ashley Hesseltine?

  Yeah.

• 32:56Speaker 02

I started at Peloton, I was what, 32? I'm bad at math.

• 32:59Ashley Hesseltine?

  So it's been eight years?

• 33:00Speaker 02

  Yeah. Well, I don't know.

• 33:03Ashley Hesseltine?

  Wild.

• 33:03Speaker 02

Put the math away. I was 32 or 33. And yeah, I think about that all the time. Like, people have literally seen me. They've been with me stepping into this season that I'm in, this era that I'm in.

• 33:18Ashley Hesseltine?

  Yeah.

• 33:19Speaker 02

It's super cool because it feels like you're doing it with friends.

• 33:21Ashley Hesseltine?

  Yeah.

• 33:22Speaker 02

  Yeah.

• 33:22Ashley Hesseltine?

  They've been on the journey.

• 33:24Speaker 02

  Yeah.

• 33:24Ashley Hesseltine?

Like, we feel like that with this podcast. We've probably had it about as long as you've been an instructor.

• 33:28Speaker 02

  Yeah.

• 33:28Ashley Hesseltine?

And so people have been on the ride. So we wanted to talk to you. We had Cody on at the beginning of the year.

• 33:32Speaker 02

  And?

• 33:33Ashley Hesseltine?

And I didn't totally know the whole story of that he really helped you get in there. And I don't know, I just kind of want to hear it from your side too, of just initially, they didn't choose you and he rode for you, no pun intended, and now look at you now.

• 33:48Speaker 02

  Cody's my fairy godmother.

• 33:50Ashley Hesseltine?

  Yeah.

• 33:50Speaker 02

If it wasn't for Cody, I wouldn't be here.

• 33:52Ashley Hesseltine?

  Wow.

• 33:53Speaker 02

Like, literally. We argued a little bit on how the story went down, but I proved.

• 33:57Ashley Hesseltine?

  I proved.

• 33:58Speaker 02

There were receipts. It's in my DMs, I still have it. He found me on Instagram.

• 34:02Ashley Hesseltine?

Doing fitness stuff? You were a makeup artist, right?

• 34:04Speaker 02

I was a makeup artist, but I was, so I was a makeup artist for 16 years. I was kind of like, at the, it was my passion. I loved it until I, until I didn't. I loved it until I hated it. And so I was trying to like step into whatever was next for me. I knew that I really loved fitness.

• 34:18Ashley Hesseltine?

  Yeah.

• 34:19Speaker 02

I had this blue light vision, this divine download of information where I saw myself as a fitness instructor.

• 34:26Ashley Hesseltine?

  Okay.

• 34:27Speaker 02

Took a cycling class that changed my life. After that cycling class, I had this, again, like, blue light vision, this wave of blue energy moved from my fingertips into my toes. And within a matter of five seconds, I knew that I'd be cycling for the rest of my life. I knew that I'd be teaching. And without even knowing what Peloton was at the time, I knew that I'd be able to impact the lives of millions of people by virtue of a bike. I saw it that clear. I was certain, I was sure.

• 34:49Ashley Hesseltine?

Oh, my God. Have you always had like visions like this?

• 34:52Speaker 02

It's very interesting that you ask that. Sure. That was the first time I really trusted it.

• 34:58Ashley Hesseltine?

  Okay.

• 34:58Speaker 02

In hindsight, yes, I've had visions both since and then, then after.

• 35:02Ashley Hesseltine?

  Uh huh.

• 35:02Speaker 02

Nothing came in as loud as that one did. Wow. Wow. I was sure. I started crying and laughing and I was laughing because it was almost as though I felt like somebody fooled me and said, "Look inside this portal, you get to see." And I laughed and cried in that moment because I knew what I saw was certain. And I knew that it was like divine that I got to see. Oh, my gosh. I knew I got to see. I love this. We love woo woo shit. We live in L.A. It was every time I say it, I have chills because it was just so real. And clearly it was real because here I am. But I leave New York. I was in New York when this vision happened. I say, "Okay, I'm gonna go start cycling," and then imposter syndrome set in.

• 35:46Speaker 02

I was like a former overweight kid, picked on, made fun of, teased. I thought to myself, "Nobody's going to find me motivating, like, nobody's gonna wanna see me on the bike. My voice is annoying. I'm not, but nobody's gonna find me inspiring." And so I kind of like pushed the idea aside. I told two friends, my best friends, Kristi and Max, I told them about this divine download. And so Max continued to like push me. They're both, Kristi, they're both pushing me. Fast forward, I start teaching at this mom and pop shop. The owner of the shop, I used to take classes at her studio. And she looks at me and she says, "I'm gonna make you a star." Like, "You are, you're gonna be my star instructor here." And so, bless her heart, her name is Mimi Benz. She invested a lot in me, put me on billboards, made me the face of the website. Wow.

• 36:30Speaker 02

And so Cody is looking to find an instructor at the same time. And he's specifically looking to find somebody outside of New York. He is on just like a black hole, I guess, on Instagram. Also, we're talking about Cody Brigsby. We haven't said his last name, if you guys don't know who that is. He needs no last name. Tune in, Cody. Cody's down this rabbit hole of just like fitness studios not in New York. And he comes across my picture on the website in L.A., stalks my Instagram, and then asks if he can fly me out to New York to audition. I had only been with the mom and pop studio a very short time, like two or three months at this time. I go out, I audition. He looks at me after the audition, like smiling, cheek to cheek. Some of the production techs come out and they're looking at me and they're like, "Girl, you killed that." Yeah.

• 37:14Speaker 02

Cody says, "That was the best audition I've ever seen. I cannot wait to train you. I cannot wait for you to work here." So baby, I go home. I, on the way to back to the airport, I called two of my best friends, Kristi and Kim, and I said, their mom was on the phone, all four of us.

• 37:30Rayna Greenberg?

  Yeah.

• 37:31Speaker 02

On, on connected call. My mother passed away, so I didn't have my mom to share in that moment, but I'm on the phone with their mom. And they were like, oh, my God, we are so mad because now you're moving to Newark, but we are so happy for you. We all cried.

• 37:43Rayna Greenberg?

  Yeah.

• 37:44Speaker 02

And then, you know, Cody says, we are opening London right now. The powers that be that make the final decision, they're away, but once they get back to review your, review your tape, can't wait for you to come. Couple of weeks later, every single day for a few weeks, every time my phone rang, every time I emailed.

• 37:59Rayna Greenberg?

I mean, I feel this deeply.

• 38:00Speaker 02

I am waiting for Cody, like it is Cody Rigsy calling to tell me.

• 38:02Rayna Greenberg?

No, I would be like, this is like a man that's ghosting me, like I'm, please text me. I'm looking at my phone every second.

• 38:07Speaker 02

Right, but it's not even like ghosting, because I'm, I'm sure.

• 38:09Rayna Greenberg?

  Right, you're like, obviously.

• 38:10Speaker 02

  There's a second date.

• 38:11Rayna Greenberg?

  Right.

• 38:12Speaker 02

You told me to buy the clothes.

• 38:13Rayna Greenberg?

  We had a great time.

• 38:14Speaker 02

What restaurant to meet you at.

• 38:15Rayna Greenberg?

  Yeah.

• 38:15Speaker 02

  We had a great time.

• 38:16Rayna Greenberg?

  Yeah.

• 38:16Speaker 02

You had more fun than me.

• 38:17Rayna Greenberg?

Yeah. Were we on the same date? Because this was the best date.

• 38:22Speaker 02

Right. So, you know, a couple of weeks go by, I wake up, get the ding, email goes off. I open my email from Cody Rigsy, we regret to inform you.

• 38:34Rayna Greenberg?

No, no. And I, the fact that I know that you got the job and I'm still so upset.

• 38:37Speaker 02

Wait, I just, I didn't see this coming. We regret to inform you.

• 38:41Rayna Greenberg?

  But, oh, my God.

• 38:42Speaker 02

I know. So I don't remember what was in the middle of the email, top of the email, we regret to inform you. And then just before his signature, he writes, I want you to know this was not a unanimous decision. He wanted me to know.

• 38:56Rayna Greenberg?

  Of course.

• 38:57Speaker 02

  This was.

• 38:58Rayna Greenberg?

  You already knew his decision.

• 38:59Speaker 02

Right. And it's so funny because now knowing Cody, I know how difficult that was for him to write. But even at that time, without knowing him in the way that I do now, I, I could hear the hurt in the email.

• 39:10Rayna Greenberg?

Uh huh. It's just to tell somebody like, I root for you, I believe, and you, and now this is outside of your hands is like heartbreaking.

• 39:17Speaker 02

  Right.

• 39:17Rayna Greenberg?

  So then, what happened?

• 39:19Speaker 02

So at the time, it was, I can't remember how many people weigh in on the vote, but it had to be unanimous.

• 39:25Rayna Greenberg?

  Oh, okay.

• 39:26Speaker 02

And so there were two votes that didn't go my way. And it was the two, two of the.

• 39:32Rayna Greenberg?

  Let's say their whole names.

• 39:33Speaker 02

If you will. We need not speak their names here.

• 39:36Ashley Hesseltine?

  Addresses.

• 39:37Rayna Greenberg?

  It's like Baltimore.

• 39:38Ashley Hesseltine?

  Phone numbers.

• 39:38Speaker 02

I've never met these people, by the way.

• 39:40Rayna Greenberg?

  Right.

• 39:40Speaker 02

And so I get an email eight months later, and I'm working on set at this time, shooting this reality show that never got picked up.

• 39:50Rayna Greenberg?

  Oh, my gosh.

• 39:50Speaker 02

Thank God. Also, if that reality show picked up, I probably wouldn't be here either. It was a show where, like, you travel around the world drinking wine. I don't need any of that footage to ever be released.

• 40:00Rayna Greenberg?

That's how I feel about when I'm drinking on camera. No one needs to see this.

• 40:02Speaker 02

  Nobody needs to see that.

• 40:03Rayna Greenberg?

  Sounds so fun, though.

• 40:04Ashley Hesseltine?

It sounds like a setup, though.

• 40:05Speaker 02

I gained 10 pounds in a week shooting that show, drinking wine. So, all that to say, there were things happening at that time, but nothing was Peloton. And I remember, after I got that no from Cody, I'd only told maybe four people that I was even auditioning. I like to keep things real close until they come.

• 40:24Rayna Greenberg?

  Right, yeah, I still.

• 40:25Speaker 02

And so I will never forget, I was on a hike with my friend Jade, and the four people that I had told every time that Peloton commercial came on, they'd be like, "F you," and they'd like change the channel. And, you know, I supported their hate because you love when your friends are mad at somebody for you. But also, I couldn't give the "F you" to Peloton because I just didn't believe that. I didn't believe that it was over.

• 40:45Rayna Greenberg?

  Yeah.

• 40:46Speaker 02

I'd seen it. I was sure. And so then I start going through this, like, really depressed state because, not because I didn't get a job, I'm down because I believed myself. I was sure. And I'm down in this moment because I'm doubting what I believed with certainty to be true. So then I'm questioning myself.

• 41:07Rayna Greenberg?

  Right.

• 41:07Speaker 02

So eight months later, I get the call from Cody, and he says, essentially, "We were fools. If you are not busy, like, would you come out and audition again?" So I flew back out to New York.

• 41:19Rayna Greenberg?

Did you think, like, I can't handle the heartbreak if you say no again, or were you like, "I'm this sure"?

• 41:23Speaker 02

I'm not that girl. I will try something 100 times till I get it.

• 41:27Rayna Greenberg?

  Good.

• 41:27Speaker 02

There is nothing that will ever keep me from something that is mine. There's nothing, no heartbreak, no embarrassment, a no that could ever keep me from something that is mine.

• 41:35Rayna Greenberg?

  Yeah.

• 41:36Speaker 02

So, it was mine. So I went to claim it. I will say this. When I showed up to the first audition, my boyfriend at the time said...

• 41:47Speaker 02

It is yours. It is up to you if you are going to allow someone else to go in there and take it from you. It's already yours. You're gonna decide if you want somebody else to take it from you.

• 41:58Rayna Greenberg?

  Mm-hmm.

• 41:58Speaker 02

So go up and, and claim it. And so that's kind of the mindset that I went in with. The second time, I thought to myself, this can be taken. It was taken before.

• 42:07Rayna Greenberg?

  Yeah.

• 42:07Speaker 02

So I didn't go in with the same sureness. Everybody always says, like, what did you do so right in your second audition that you didn't do in the first? Full disclosure, my first audition was better than my second.

• 42:18Rayna Greenberg?

  Oh, okay.

• 42:19Speaker 02

My second, I messed up. I stuttered on my words a little bit. I wasn't as confident with like even the playlist that I chose. Like, the first time was more me. The second time, I didn't know, I know now why there was the no. You know, and Cody kind of alluded to it a little bit. He said, there's been some shift in our alignment.

• 42:39Rayna Greenberg?

  Hmm.

• 42:39Speaker 02

I think that the person that is, you know, in power, if you will, now, I think that they will go more in your favor.

• 42:46Rayna Greenberg?

  Okay.

• 42:46Speaker 02

And so with that being said, it was, almost what he was saying was, it was not you. And I remember Cody and I had met at a coffee shop. He was walking me through everything you need to do. And I kept saying, well, what did I do wrong? Like, what should I not do? He said, do everything the same. And in my head, I can't do everything the same because I, what I did before wasn't enough. And so I'm thinking to myself, maybe I'm too muscular. Cause I'm look, I'm comparing myself to my body and everybody else's body. Maybe I'm too black. There's, I don't see anybody dark skinned. Maybe it was because my hair was in braids. So I take my hair out of braids. I lost weight. Mind you, I had like a week. I did, I, I tried to change so many things about me. I changed my playlist. I wanted, wanted to make my playlist more middle America.

• 43:31Speaker 02

And so here's what I say to it. Sometimes it's not that you are not ready for the opportunity of a lifetime. Sometimes the opportunity of a lifetime just isn't ready for you. Sometimes it's not that you are not ready for the opportunity. Sometimes the opportunity is not ready for you. Essentially, I didn't get the job because they never had anybody like me.

• 43:54Rayna Greenberg?

  Mm-hmm.

• 43:55Speaker 02

I didn't get the job because they couldn't see me there, because there was nobody there that looked like me.

• 44:00Rayna Greenberg?

  Mm-hmm.

• 44:01Speaker 02

  I can't change that.

• 44:03Rayna Greenberg?

  Right.

• 44:03Speaker 02

The opportunity, y'all, you were not ready for me. And when the shift happened, and someone who made the final decision was ready for me, when that person was there. I was ready for the opportunity.

• 44:16Rayna Greenberg?

And to see you teach a Peloton class, I mean, it's just, they should have, they were so wrong.

• 44:21Speaker 02

  They were fools.

• 44:21Rayna Greenberg?

I mean, Ashley and I just, we love your classes. We could go through a list of them. I mean, truly, I was telling you, I put the Beyonce class you did with Alex Toussaint, I just put it on to listen to it. I mean, you're just, you're so inspirational. We both like cried to that ride. And to watch you do it, I'm like, how wrong were these people? It had nothing to do with your weight, or how you looked, or your hair, or your skin. Like, they were, they were just wrong.

• 44:42Ashley Hesseltine?

Yeah, and I think about this a lot. I've dealt with a lot with comedy, and with my comedy special and different things. And it's like, sometimes there are gatekeepers that don't get it. And they don't like you, and that's subjective. And I had a friend just sent me this message, and it was so beautifully written about kind of like, people that are in charge of decisions that are, don't get it, or don't see it. And it sucks sometimes that they don't. And they're wrong. And people make poor decisions. And to your point, it's different. You're like, they hadn't seen anyone like me before. And it felt unfamiliar, and so it's a no? So it was just, it's tough sometimes.

• 45:21Speaker 02

They didn't see it, but also it wasn't for them to see. If I'd gotten that job, Ashley, if I'd gotten that job the first time around. So the position was vacant for eight months because again, it had to be a unanimous decision.

• 45:32Ashley Hesseltine?

  Right.

• 45:32Speaker 02

So both Robin and Cody, who were from the instructor side of it, both continued to advocate and push for me. And so as people were coming in and auditioning, they kept saying no to the people coming in because they kept saying, Tunde was better than her. Tunde was better than her. Tunde was better than her. And so the people that said no, it wasn't for, it wasn't for them to get. If they had turned around and said, okay, bring her back, and I'd gotten the job under them, I don't think that they would have wanted me to flourish. I think that they would have almost buried me. You know, I always say that Peloton is almost like, it's casting. It's casting. So you want somebody who's that energy, and another person who's that energy. You don't need two people to be exactly the same.

• 46:09Rayna Greenberg?

  Right.

• 46:10Speaker 02

And so if I'm cast and you're the casting director, you're gonna put me in a role that's smaller if you didn't really want me here. And so I do think that when the shift happened, and when I got hired, I was hired by a team that really wanted me there, wanted me to thrive. And put me in a position to be seen.

• 46:26Ashley Hesseltine?

A hundred percent. Oh, I mean, the whole time you're telling this story, I'm like, it worked out exactly how it was supposed to.

• 46:31Speaker 02

  Right.

• 46:32Ashley Hesseltine?

Eight months later. It's like, I can't even imagine it working out the first time that, you know, it's just like, it all played out.

• 46:36Speaker 02

  It's all happening for you.

• 46:37Rayna Greenberg?

And I just think all the time, some people just have bad taste.

• 46:40Speaker 02

  Yeah.

• 46:40Rayna Greenberg?

Like, more than 50% of the population voted for Donald Trump. That's insane to me.

• 46:44Ashley Hesseltine?

  Allegedly.

• 46:45Rayna Greenberg?

Crazy. Yeah, allegedly. But like, I don't understand the taste of 50% or more of people. And like, that's, that's what happened here. Like, I, we don't understand the taste of somebody that didn't cast you. That's insane.

• 46:57Ashley Hesseltine?

Yeah, I think of this quote all the time. It was from the Von Dutch documentary. And it says, never underestimate the poor taste of the American people.

• 47:05Speaker 02

  Wow.

• 47:06Rayna Greenberg?

I think about it all the time.

• 47:07Ashley Hesseltine?

And meanwhile, that's what led Von Dutch to get so popular. But I've even heard, I think Paige De Sorbo says, like, I don't want everyone to like me. People have bad taste. So I just think these things help me all the time.

• 47:20Rayna Greenberg?

  Yep.

• 47:20Ashley Hesseltine?

You know, so when you're like, I'm doing this thing, I'm proud of it. This is the best. This is all I got.

• 47:25Speaker 02

  Yeah.

• 47:26Ashley Hesseltine?

This is me, and you might not like that, and that's okay.

• 47:28Rayna Greenberg?

I'm not gonna be for everybody. That's fine. Everybody's not for me. When I think of like, the amount of content out in the world that I don't care for, that it goes both ways, and there's plenty to go around.

• 47:38Speaker 02

  Right.

• 47:38Rayna Greenberg?

  You know?

• 47:39Ashley Hesseltine?

Okay. And the brand that supports both of our lives, Revolve. I mean, it has supported everything I've worn on this tour. It's getting hot out and I love that they have something for literally everything. And there's so many different shops. So if you're like, I need summer vacation looks, I need festival looks. They have a shop for each thing. So like for my tour, I was looking for like hot nights out, spicy nights out, everybody's weddings coming up. So you can shop all those. There's tons of brands.

• 49:44Ashley Hesseltine?

So I'm head to toe today. The little older, but the top is free people. The jeans are Citizen from Revolve and the flip flops are Teak. So everything I'm wearing, probably even my underwear.

• 49:55Rayna Greenberg?

I have those Citizen jeans. We both have Teak's sandals on. I have Super Down jean shorts and my watch is, I think it's Sedra is how you say it's.

• 50:03Ashley Hesseltine?

  Yeah, yeah.

• 50:03Rayna Greenberg?

  Sendra.

• 50:04Ashley Hesseltine?

Shoes, accessories, all the things. I mean, so good for summer.

• 50:07Rayna Greenberg?

And you can obviously sort by price. Some of our favorite brands are on there. I mean, I get free people stuff on there all the time. Super Down is a big brand that I shop all the time. And there is just something for every event. And I have to tell you, I had this incredible experience with their customer support literally this morning. I mean, they get back to you in minutes. They are so kind. They're second to none.

• 50:27Ashley Hesseltine?

  Real people.

• 50:28Rayna Greenberg?

  Yes.

• 50:28Ashley Hesseltine?

I've had some AI customer support situations that have not handled it. Like Revolve is real people. You can call them.

• 50:36Rayna Greenberg?

  Right.

• 50:36Ashley Hesseltine?

They pick up like top, second to none customer service, two day free shipping, returns are super easy. The label's in the box. Not that you're going to want to return anything, but just in case you do, they're just very. Like customer friendly.

• 50:48Rayna Greenberg?

• 51:20Ashley Hesseltine?

Okay. So you said to us the other day at this brunch that this is your last single summer. Talk to us.

• 51:27Speaker 02

No. This is my last single summer.

• 51:32Rayna Greenberg?

Okay. And I believe you because you are kind of witchy. Yeah. I feel like you have a premonition and I believe you. So do you feel like you want to approach this from like, I'm about to go fucking crazy this summer? Or are you like, it's time to manifest what I really want and like be intentional? Like what are we, what are we manifesting for the next couple of months? What are we doing?

• 51:51Speaker 02

I believe in the power of the both and.

• 51:53Rayna Greenberg?

  Okay.

• 51:53Speaker 02

Like I can go crazy and live, like, you know, when you hear my last single summer, I can live crazy and wild and free with the intention that you may think. And it can be absolutely what you said. Like I think that I can sit with self and meditate and manifest and call in. Like when I say it's my last single summer, like everybody's like, what does that mean? If you knew that this was the last time that you had fully to yourself, without the commitment that you need to make to a partner, without what it takes to give to be a mother, if you knew that this was your, like, let's take relationships out of it. If you knew this was your last summer, living in your home state or in your country, like if you knew this was the last summer before you,

• 52:39Speaker 02

  you left New York.

• 52:40Rayna Greenberg?

  Yeah.

• 52:40Speaker 02

Like I would show up and I would live in New York differently. I would go to restaurants that I've never been to. I'd go see shows that I'd never seen. If I knew it was my last trip to Italy, I'd, I'd experience Italy in a different way.

• 52:52Rayna Greenberg?

  Vacation energy.

• 52:53Speaker 02

Vacation, a different, like vacation energy. And so when I say it's my last. Last single summer, I think about the, I know that one day, one day, whenever that day may come, that I find my person, I know that I will mourn this life.

• 53:05Rayna Greenberg?

  Hmm.

• 53:06Speaker 02

This life that I am so, this part of my chapter that I'm so eager to leave, turn the page on, move away from, I know that there are days that I will look back and not be able to turn back to this page. I'll just think about it.

• 53:21Rayna Greenberg?

  Hmm.

• 53:22Speaker 02

And so I want to do everything that I know that I may give up. And so it's like, just like, time to myself, experiencing different people, maybe going on dates with people and I've, I've already started, but like going on dates with people that maybe they're not my type, like my type hasn't worked, so I'm trying your type. You know what I'm saying?

• 53:42Rayna Greenberg?

  You should, yes.

• 53:43Speaker 02

And so I'm just like, I'm trying to experience life in a new way, in a different way. And in a way that I may, I know that I may not be able to. And everybody's like, well, God, what if you, what if you're still single next summer? Baby, if I'm still single next summer, then I'm still single next summer. It doesn't, it doesn't hurt.

• 54:02Rayna Greenberg?

  I'm not embarrassed.

• 54:04Speaker 02

It doesn't hurt to live as though this were my last.

• 54:06Rayna Greenberg?

Yes, I love what you said. I feel so much to respond to, but I love acknowledging that like, there's a lot of really nice things about being single and being untethered and not being responsible to another person and their schedule and their feelings and what matters to them. And there, you give up a lot to be in a relationship. You have to consider another person's time and energy and what they need from you. And there are a lot of really nice things about being single. So to enjoy it temporarily, I think is really important.

• 54:31Speaker 02

I've been single for seven years. So you just said like, you know, you give up things, right? I think about something as simple as going to the movies. When I go to the movies, I go to the movies by myself. I don't have to like negotiate about what we're seeing because you know, last time, the last two times it was my choice. I don't negotiate about where we, where I sit. I get to eat all my popcorn by myself. I go on solo vacations all the time. I go where I want to go. I stay in the hotel that I want to stay in. I make a plan and then guess what? If I decide that I want to stay at the beach for the next two hours, instead of moving on to the next thing on the to do list, then I stay at the beach for the next two hours.

• 55:14Speaker 02

So it's like, it's just the subtle, like the little micro things that I get to do. Because I am single, I'm going to live up those micro. Things this year.

• 55:27Ashley Hesseltine?

And they're not, like, I think about this all the time. So I'm married now, I'm with my husband all the time. I mean, I've been traveling, whatever. But the other night, I was staying at a girlfriend's house here in New York and by myself. She was out of town, she let me have her place. And I ordered sushi from a place I used to order from when I lived here, Soho Sushi, if you guys care, and watched Running Point on Netflix, which is a show my husband doesn't care to watch. And I was like, this is so wonderful. I don't get to do this anymore. Like, we watch TV together. Like, I can do whatever I want, whatever. And I love my life with him. But, you know, you think of some, a single woman who really wants to find somebody. And they have these moments, they're eating dinner alone, or they're ordering sushi, watching TV alone. And like, I wish I had someone. It's like, yeah, but you will find someone, then

• 56:08Ashley Hesseltine?

you won't get to do this as much. So literally, think about that when you're doing it, that you will miss this. And it's not sad. No. And I love romantic love. It's the most important thing, the best feeling. It's, I want that so badly, of course. But in the meantime, I really enjoy those nights where I get to just be alone, look so fucking ugly, and turn on anything I want, fart anywhere I want. Fart audibly. Yeah. Just let her rip on the couch. Just get up to pee like four times. I just don't have to check in with somebody. And that's really nice.

• 56:42Speaker 02

I remember during COVID, my best friend and manager, her name's Kim, and she has two kids, and a husband, and a front yard, and a backyard.

• 56:51Ashley Hesseltine?

  The front yard.

• 56:52Speaker 02

Listen, I live in New York, and I love my home. I'm very grateful.

• 56:55Ashley Hesseltine?

The front yard is a flex.

• 56:56Speaker 02

But like, a front yard, babe.

• 56:58Ashley Hesseltine?

  No, it's crazy.

• 56:59Speaker 02

Come on, you get to walk outside and you still own land? That's awesome.

• 57:01Ashley Hesseltine?

  It's crazy, uh huh.

• 57:02Speaker 02

They had like, they were living up during COVID, like, they were having the best time. Every day I'd call her and she'd be on FaceTime, and they're outside with their picnic, and they're having a picnic, a social, socially distanced, I forgot what we called it, a socially distanced party with the neighbors. The neighbors are on their, in their front yard.

• 57:18Ashley Hesseltine?

  I miss COVID sometimes.

• 57:20Speaker 02

Right, right. And they're all like, hanging out, drinking wine. Meanwhile, at the time, I think I was in a studio apartment, like, in a box, like, going downstairs to talk to the doorman, just to feel like I had, you know,

• 57:33Ashley Hesseltine?

  Interacted with somebody.

• 57:34Speaker 02

Interacted with human for the day. And so I remember in that moment, just like, thinking like, God, you know, is this, is this my life? Is this the life that I've chosen for myself? Like, putting my career in this, ahead in this moment, versus family. And she, you know, talked to me about time, and she was like, Tunde, you know what I would do? She goes, I'd go to the toilet. I go to the toilet and these people follow me. They ask me questions.

• 57:59Ashley Hesseltine?

She's so jealous of your life.

• 58:00Speaker 02

It's not just the kids, it's the husband.

• 58:01Ashley Hesseltine?

  Yeah.

• 58:02Speaker 02

Everybody follows me to the restroom. She goes, do you know what I would do to trade spaces with you and pee in that box? And so it's just like, you know, everything is through the lens to which you view it. Like as much as I, you know, I've been single for seven years and I love just like, wait, what's this thing? Like you listen to the tune of your own, whatever. Like every day is just my plan. I don't have to.

• 58:22Ashley Hesseltine?

Marching to the beat of your own drum.

• 58:23Speaker 02

  Here it is.

• 58:24Ashley Hesseltine?

That's the tattoo on my body.

• 58:26Speaker 02

  It's on your body.

• 58:29Speaker 02

So when I wake up every day and I'm just kind of like marching to the beat of my own drum and not having to like compromise, I enjoy. I'm also not the girl who's like, oh, I, because I think there's also a movement right now where it's, I don't want a man and da, da, da. No, I want one, baby. I absolutely do. I want to normalize that too, because it's also so normal now.

• 58:49Ashley Hesseltine?

  Yes.

• 58:49Speaker 02

For women to be alone and be happily alone and, and want to be alone. I'm alone and I'm okay being alone, but I'm not happily alone. I am alone because I choose to not be with a fool because I enjoy my peace. And I don't want to be in a relationship to just be in a relationship. That being said, I would like to meet somebody that I actually like.

• 59:09Ashley Hesseltine?

People actually, I mean, I get those messages a lot where people say like, thank you for being both. Like thank you for acknowledging that like, that you love being single, but it would be really nice to have what Ashley has. It like, both things can exist in a person. I'm proudly single. My life is great. I would love romantic love. I like to get fucked every day by somebody I love.

• 59:28Ashley Hesseltine?

You have to say it out loud. Like I, what I really strongly believe in the manifesting and I decided the beginning of 2023, I was turning 40 that year, that was the year I was going to find my partner and I did it. And I like talk about all this, whatever, I don't need to rehash it, but.

• 59:41Speaker 02

I remember seeing this though, online and feeling so inspired through your story. I was like, oh my God, Ashley, I met somebody, I'm going to meet somebody. It's gonna happen.

• 59:47Ashley Hesseltine?

It, it happened and I just like, I stopped, I said it out loud. I said it on the podcast. I said to everyone who listens, like I'm finding someone this year. And there was part of me that like, I always felt like I was going to meet him right at the buzzer. And like, really, we, it really happened like that right before I turned 40. And I started to feel a little panicked. Like, I said, this is gonna happen. I told everybody, like, I want it to happen so badly. And I'm not gonna say this, like, I don't need a man, I'm a bad, yeah, all that stuff's true, whatever, but like, I'm gonna say the thing. I wanna find somebody. I'm dating intentionally and like, this is important to me. I'm making space for it in my life where I didn't feel like I had that before. I'm really trying to make it happen instead of, I think we do this defense mechanism of like,

• 1:00:30Ashley Hesseltine?

I don't need anybody, I don't want anybody. And I've even told Raina that too. I'm like, don't even say that stuff. If you don't really believe it, because then you will speak it into existence.

• 1:00:38Rayna Greenberg?

Well, I had a matchmaker say that to me. They, so I signed up for this matchmaking service and they put, they give you a therapist to talk to beforehand. And I said, I'm okay if I don't find somebody. And she said, I'm gonna encourage you to stop saying that. Because you'll show up in the world differently. Say to yourself, I will find somebody, I wanna find somebody. Not, I'm just okay if I don't find, yes, that's the truth.

• 1:00:54Ashley Hesseltine?

  You'll survive.

• 1:00:55Rayna Greenberg?

Yeah, I'll be fine. But again, the goal is fucked every day by somebody who loves me.

• 1:00:59Speaker 02

I had the worst matchmaker experience.

• 1:01:02Rayna Greenberg?

  You did?

• 1:01:02Speaker 02

A friend of mine, Olivia Amato.

• 1:01:05Rayna Greenberg?

  Oh, yeah.

• 1:01:05Speaker 02

Also a colleague instructor. She was like, I have this matchmaking service for high earner, something, something, something. Do you want me to put you in touch with this woman? I said, absolutely. And so I do the whole thing with this woman. We have a conversation, we do all the things. Just for her to tell me, I'm so sorry, but I don't believe we have anybody that's compatible for you. I got on the phone with that woman and I cried.

• 1:01:34Rayna Greenberg?

  I'm so sorry.

• 1:01:37Speaker 02

What the fuck? I thought, and that was like a moment where I felt just, damn, you have a whole service and still nothing. Also, she handled it poorly.

• 1:01:45Rayna Greenberg?

How dare you say that to me?

• 1:01:46Speaker 02

You know what? Like, let me, like, really sit and noodle. I wanna bring somebody great to you, somebody that's on your caliber.

• 1:01:54Rayna Greenberg?

  Yeah.

• 1:01:55Speaker 02

It's not gonna be overnight because I think that you're wonderful, but, but it was just, it's a no for us.

• 1:02:00Rayna Greenberg?

  Okay, so.

• 1:02:01Ashley Hesseltine?

  That's so wild.

• 1:02:02Rayna Greenberg?

I'm so sorry you went through that. That's crazy. And listen, not everybody's gonna be right for me or for you. You are like a powerful person. You are really successful. You're on this streaming service. I mean, people watch you. You're like a, I see you, I'm like, this is a powerful, confident woman. That's not gonna be for every man. It's their job to find somebody.

• 1:02:21Ashley Hesseltine?

  Right. It was interesting.

• 1:02:22Rayna Greenberg?

  That's crazy.

• 1:02:23Ashley Hesseltine?

Oh, I'm sorry. I'm too beautiful.

• 1:02:25Rayna Greenberg?

  We're very, too confident.

• 1:02:27Speaker 02

And the here's that thing is like, I was very open, like, she's like, height requirement? No. Does he have to make more money than you? No, I could did all of the like, very open things. But she was like, we have a lot of women right now on our, on our roster.

• 1:02:39Ashley Hesseltine?

  I fucking hate this.

• 1:02:40Speaker 02

We have an affiliate, you know, I can reach out to the affiliate to see if they have anybody. But, you know, being that you're like in the public eye, a lot of men don't like that. And so I just think it's gonna be a no.

• 1:02:51Ashley Hesseltine?

Yeah, that's your job. Also, let's say her whole name, too.

• 1:02:55Ashley Hesseltine?

We just call it out, everybody.

• 1:02:56Rayna Greenberg?

Well, I actually, I'm curious what your feeling is on that, because people have asked, I mean, prior to Ashley getting married, but both of us, like, do you think your job is gonna get in the way of people wanting to date you? And we're on stage, we're talking about our dating lives and sex lives and things like that. People have always said, do you think it's gonna get in the way of meeting a partner? And I'm curious what you think.

• 1:03:15Speaker 02

It's not even, is it gonna get in the way? It has gotten in the way. I do think that that is, you know, part of the reason that I'm not with person. But also, then it's not supposed to work, babe.

• 1:03:24Ashley Hesseltine?

  Right.

• 1:03:25Speaker 02

Yeah. Like, this is what I do. This is my job. This is what, this is my love.

• 1:03:28Ashley Hesseltine?

  Am I gonna quit?

• 1:03:29Speaker 02

This is my passion. Like, at the same note, the person that I'm going to choose, I'm going to choose him and be well with what he does. And the person who chooses me back, he's gonna choose me and choose what I, you know, what I do.

• 1:03:41Ashley Hesseltine?

  Yeah.

• 1:03:42Speaker 02

Yeah, do I think that it's intimidating for most men? Absolutely. Do I think that successful women in general intimidate men? The wrong man. Yeah, it does. It does intimidate the wrong man. And so, the guy that my job is an issue, he wasn't the guy, so it's like...

• 1:03:56Ashley Hesseltine?

Hundred percent. It's a great way to filter them, quite honestly.

• 1:03:58Speaker 02

It was always going to be a problem.

• 1:04:00Ashley Hesseltine?

And you can't love me in spite of my job. You have to love all of me and what I actually do and be supportive of it. Like, I always think about that, like, yeah, maybe a guy we've dated throughout the years, like, was okay with what we did. I don't want okay. I want that you love it. And you're like, on board with all of it. Look at her go.

• 1:04:17Speaker 02

Look at her go. Biggest cheerleader.

• 1:04:19Rayna Greenberg?

I've dated somebody that said, like, I'm learning to deal with it. I was like, I don't want you to learn to deal, I want you to sit in the audience and be like, look at my girl go. And that's, I'm not gonna be for everybody. Not everybody wants me to talk about them on stage.

• 1:04:33Speaker 02

Yeah. And on the flip side, it's like, you want a cheerleader, I want a cheerleader, but I... Also want to be my man's biggest cheerleader. I'm the one screaming the loudest. Yes, yeah. Oh. When you were in this, like, I am turning 40, I am meeting my person this year, did you date a lot that year?

• 1:04:49Ashley Hesseltine?

Yeah, and I had just moved to LA, so that was like a fresh energy I needed. And towards the end of 2022, we, I was like, right, I was like, I'm not really going to date much in New York. I, we're moving, it was supposed to be temporary, but then it turned out to be obviously longer. We've been there three plus years, but yeah, so I was like, I'm dating in a new city, so I'm kind of coming into a fresh energy. And I did all the things. I, and I talk about all this in my special, but I went on the apps. I dated the Task Rabbit, and, which I can't recommend enough, they come through.

• 1:05:18Speaker 02

I was dating with my Uber driver.

• 1:05:19Ashley Hesseltine?

  See?

• 1:05:20Speaker 02

You're there, hey, hi, how are you?

• 1:05:21Ashley Hesseltine?

  Yeah.

• 1:05:21Speaker 02

  Nice to meet you.

• 1:05:22Ashley Hesseltine?

And I, I did a matchmaker. I actually had a pretty good experience with two guys with the matchmaker. And then we went out on the road and I was like, maybe I'll meet somebody on the road. And I love your point of like, I don't know if this was what you were trying to say, but I'll say it. Like, you can be slutty and still want to find a husband.

• 1:05:40Speaker 02

  Sure.

• 1:05:40Ashley Hesseltine?

And that's how I felt. And so first tore stuff out of the gate. I like hooked up with this dude, this young guy, and then two weeks later, that's when I connected with my now husband.

• 1:05:50Speaker 02

  Wow.

• 1:05:50Ashley Hesseltine?

I was like, I'll have the hour-long conversation with the matchmaker and get set up with like, a man that's age-appropriate and successful and all this stuff. And I'll also fuck the 23-year-old and like, we'll see what happens. And then like, all of it's

• 1:06:02Speaker 02

  You're figuring out.

• 1:06:02Ashley Hesseltine?

Moving in the right direction. And then I, I say met, but like, I'd met my husband once before. But I connected with him. And of course, that first night, I wasn't like, he's the one. But I kind of knew pretty, pretty soon thereafter. But like, it did all work out. But I, every move I was making in that five months was with intention. And this is like an aside, I don't know, I got off the pill and that changed my life too. Like, I'm in support of birth control, but I have an IUD now, but like, that shifted kind of who I was. That's like, it's just an important part of the story.

• 1:06:30Speaker 02

  Like hormonally?

• 1:06:31Ashley Hesseltine?

  Yeah.

• 1:06:32Speaker 02

  Interesting.

• 1:06:32Ashley Hesseltine?

She had a different person. I, I had been on the pill for

• 1:06:34Speaker 02

  You hated her before.

• 1:06:35Ashley Hesseltine?

  No, no.

• 1:06:35Speaker 02

  Oh! Raging bitch.

• 1:06:37Ashley Hesseltine?

This is our, this is our big reveal. No, she just, she was lighter.

• 1:06:41Speaker 02

  Yeah, it changed my life.

• 1:06:42Ashley Hesseltine?

She was just a different person. Like, 20 years on the pill, but Take and decided to get off it one day and felt my true self like I mean, I wouldn't say it was so extreme. A lot of women say like, I felt like I was seeing the world in color for the first time. And I am a huge proponent of birth control. I obviously have an IUD, but for me, the pill was not the best for for me. And that changed too. So that's kind of the story. But I really, I see women and I'm like, you say it, but you got to live it. Like, this was a little thing, but a friend told me, you should have a king bed. Because I had a queen in New York. And I was like, obviously, I'm going to have a king bed. We're moving to LA. We're going to have all this space. And I actually moved into a really gorgeous house that had a tiny bedroom. And the king, I stuffed a fucking

• 1:07:27Ashley Hesseltine?

king in that bedroom. It barely fit. You could barely walk around it. But I was like, if I'm gonna get a man, he's not gonna be in this queen bed. And so there's little things of like, making the literal space in your life.

• 1:07:39Speaker 02

My friends keep telling me to do that. They're like, where is a man supposed to put? So I have like, I don't know, I have like, four or five closets. I have a lot of closets.

• 1:07:46Ashley Hesseltine?

  Hell, yeah.

• 1:07:46Speaker 02

  In New York, girl.

• 1:07:48Ashley Hesseltine?

  Five is like.

• 1:07:51Speaker 02

Because but the thing is, the more closet space you have, the more things you buy to fill the closet space. So I have a problem, a little bit of an addiction. Anyway.

• 1:07:57Ashley Hesseltine?

Me too. I have a suggestion for that later.

• 1:07:59Speaker 02

Let's talk about it. So my friends are like, get rid of some of this shit, so that you can energetically pull.

• 1:08:06Ashley Hesseltine?

  Yeah.

• 1:08:07Speaker 02

I mean, I can't. I did the I did the bed. I have the king bed.

• 1:08:11Ashley Hesseltine?

  Okay, that's what I need.

• 1:08:12Speaker 02

Let go of my things for an imaginary.

• 1:08:14Ashley Hesseltine?

If he comes in, then you adjust.

• 1:08:15Speaker 02

If he comes in, we'll adjust. We'll get a different place.

• 1:08:18Ashley Hesseltine?

As long as you got the bed.

• 1:08:19Speaker 02

We have time for that regardless. Let me meet him and then I'll start like donating the clothes.

• 1:08:23Ashley Hesseltine?

Is there an inch of counter space for his toothbrush and the bed?

• 1:08:25Speaker 02

  Yeah, we could do that.

• 1:08:26Ashley Hesseltine?

Worry about the clothes later. 100%. We'll worry about getting rid of t-shirts in the future.

• 1:08:31Speaker 02

  Yeah, it's fine.

• 1:08:31Ashley Hesseltine?

So I want to say something to you guys. So we put this, we really liked your idea of like, last single summer, we put a slide up on our Instagram and said that this was your last single summer, how would you show up? How would you act? What would you let go?

• 1:08:42Rayna Greenberg?

Something that I actually haven't seen before. Cause we've always seen people say, say yes to everything, you know, do new hobbies, new friends, new things. But I think people are just drinking less today and going out less. And so many people said, you gotta leave the house. Yep. Like, I've never seen people before, I'd be like, Wow. Cause we've really glorified, like, be in the bed, bedrock, I love not leaving the house for days, I'll do it. I love it. But if you really wanna meet somebody, like, you do have to like, go out and do stuff. You could do the apps and meet people, but I've actually never overwhelmingly seen so many women be like, I gotta get outside. Yeah.

• 1:09:14Speaker 02

Okay, let me tell you what Cody Rigsy said to me.

• 1:09:16Rayna Greenberg?

  Okay.

• 1:09:16Speaker 02

Speaking of Cody, we were talking about me being single and that's like, we have these like little meetups and we talk about love lives or what's, what's happening or what's not happening. And every time we'd get to me, he's like, Tunde, you are so lazy in dating. He's like, you are like a boss ass woman in everything you do. The way that you take business seriously, the way that you will not sleep, the way that you show up to work.

• 1:09:41Rayna Greenberg?

  Oh, yeah.

• 1:09:42Speaker 02

He was like, if you brought that same hustle into your dating life, he's like, you don't wanna get out of the house. You don't wanna do anything because I'm so tired from working.

• 1:09:50Rayna Greenberg?

  Right.

• 1:09:50Speaker 02

  But I will.

• 1:09:51Rayna Greenberg?

  Work out for work.

• 1:09:52Speaker 02

  Right.

• 1:09:53Rayna Greenberg?

  Exhausted.

• 1:09:53Speaker 02

God, but all that to say, it's like, I also, I don't, like, most of my friends are in relationships. I will say, like, my, some of my girlfriends are really, really good at still going out with me because they understand that I'm single and I need to like, get out. And so they will do the wing woman thing. But so much of that also involves like, drinking.

• 1:10:13Rayna Greenberg?

  Uh huh, yep.

• 1:10:14Speaker 02

Getting, I don't wanna go eat a six course meal today, I have to teach at 8 a.m.

• 1:10:18Rayna Greenberg?

  Do you drink?

• 1:10:19Speaker 02

  Yes, I love drinking.

• 1:10:21Rayna Greenberg?

  Okay.

• 1:10:23Rayna Greenberg?

We live in L.A., everyone's like, we don't do that.

• 1:10:24Speaker 02

But it's just like, I, but me and my girlfriends, when we go out, we don't just like, have one drink. I wish that we were those girls.

• 1:10:30Rayna Greenberg?

I remember in Cody on that show, he was like, he was like, I feel like people don't know just how fun Tunde is. Like, he was like, when you get her going, like, people, obviously, your energy is so wonderful, but he was like, party wise, like, she gets down.

• 1:10:41Speaker 02

People don't know how fun I am.

• 1:10:42Rayna Greenberg?

  Yeah.

• 1:10:43Speaker 02

People don't know how funny I am. So this is also part of my singles. So people have read my book, or they've listened to me on a podcast, or maybe a guy who's been like motivated by something that I say in class. So people think I'm very serious. And so when I'm on a date, I think that he, And he said, he is trying to impress me. So there was, I will never forget, there was a guy I went on a date with and I met this guy. I thought this was my husband. I meet on a plane. He's a vascular surgeon. So I don't know what that is, but it sounds really wealthy.

• 1:11:15Rayna Greenberg?

  Yeah, 100%.

• 1:11:16Speaker 02

Like surgeon, owns his own practice, actually lives in New York. That's where that I go on a date with somebody that lives in my state.

• 1:11:24Rayna Greenberg?

  Yeah.

• 1:11:25Speaker 02

We met on a plane, that's hello.

• 1:11:27Rayna Greenberg?

  Immediately.

• 1:11:27Speaker 02

Wait, we watched the movie together.

• 1:11:30Rayna Greenberg?

  No, you didn't.

• 1:11:31Speaker 02

Let me rewind, let me tell the story, girls.

• 1:11:32Rayna Greenberg?

  Yes.

• 1:11:32Speaker 02

So this is like just after, like right after COVID time.

• 1:11:35Rayna Greenberg?

  Okay.

• 1:11:36Speaker 02

And so I'm very sanitary. I think we had just taken the masks off.

• 1:11:39Rayna Greenberg?

  Okay.

• 1:11:41Speaker 02

Two things can be true. So we had just taken the masks off, but like, I was still like.

• 1:11:47Rayna Greenberg?

  Yeah.

I just realized that, okay, one day you'll put your mouth on another mouth again. Like I just become okay with that. So I'm using my two, three sanitizers, getting the seatbelt, getting the remote, getting the TV screen. So he looks over at me and he says,

• 1:12:02Speaker 02

"Did you get everything?" And I look at him and I said, "Honestly, no, like I really would like to get yours too." Because we're in close proximity. So I start cleaning where his armrest is, we have a little laugh. And I sit down, I put my bags away. He says, "I just text my friend group, I'm doing everything in my power to not ask Tunde to marry me." And I look.

• 1:12:22Rayna Greenberg?

Oh, he knew who you were.

• 1:12:23Speaker 02

  He knows who I am.

• 1:12:24Rayna Greenberg?

I'm so riveted. Like what? You should have a podcast.

• 1:12:29Speaker 02

Let's, can I be the third? Can I be the third?

• 1:12:31Rayna Greenberg?

Yes, and I'm gonna have her. Back here, we're gonna drink.

• 1:12:34Speaker 02

Oh my God, we're gonna drink.

• 1:12:36Rayna Greenberg?

  Oh yeah.

• 1:12:36Speaker 02

We're gonna drink, we're gonna dates together.

• 1:12:38Rayna Greenberg?

We're gonna be horny, fuck our way through the city. I'm obsessed with this.

• 1:12:43Speaker 02

Let me keep my So House membership. I was just about to cancel it.

• 1:12:46Rayna Greenberg?

  I have, I have one.

• 1:12:47Speaker 02

Okay, great. So we'll need one, we'll need one, we'll split the cost, everyone. So I, I, he says, I'm do, I've just texted my friend group, I'm doing everything in my power not to ask Tunde to marry me. I say, "No, he didn't." He says, "Yes, I did." I said, "Let me see." He hands me his phone. I read the message, he said, "I'm done in my power not to ask Tunde to marry me." Okay, one thing to know about me is if I like, if I don't like a guy, I can talk, baby, I can talk to anybody. Adele is sitting right here, ask this girl how many men I've hooked her up with. Because if I see something happen, I am not shy. I say, hey, go talk to her.

• 1:13:24Ashley Hesseltine?

  Yeah.

• 1:13:24Speaker 02

I can do it for everybody but myself.

• 1:13:27Ashley Hesseltine?

  Yeah.

• 1:13:28Speaker 02

When I like a guy, I forget how to speak, I get nervous. You know how they say to hold eye contact for three seconds? This is what, just, this is what I think that I'm doing.

• 1:13:39Speaker 02

I count to seven, right? Here's what I actually do. And like, look, I can't breathe.

• 1:13:44Rayna Greenberg?

I get crazy too. One of my friends watched me right after COVID. It was the summer of 2021, be in Domino Park, and this guy approached me, and like, he talked to me for like, five minutes, and he walked away, and she goes, have you ever spoken to a man before?

• 1:13:56Speaker 02

  It's so difficult.

• 1:13:57Rayna Greenberg?

What I just witnessed was insane.

• 1:14:00Speaker 02

Okay, so this is gonna be good for us when we start hanging out, when we're friends? Because then I'm gonna, I'm gonna take care of you, and you're gonna take care of me, because we can't do it on our own.

• 1:14:07Rayna Greenberg?

I can wing woman for you.

• 1:14:08Speaker 02

  Great, absolutely.

• 1:14:10Rayna Greenberg?

But the stakes are lower when it's for somebody else. That's why your married friends are great to go out with.

• 1:14:13Ashley Hesseltine?

Yeah, but some of my girlfriends are.

• 1:14:15Speaker 02

Some of my girlfriends are either married or in relationships. I remember them single, and they were so forward. Like, these girls, I have friends who, I've been single for seven years. I have friends that were single for six months and dated more in six months than I did in seven years, because they were just forward girls. I'm not forward, I wish I was.

• 1:14:32Rayna Greenberg?

But do you feel, I mean, Ashley had this year where she dated a lot, and last year I wasn't on tour, Ashley was on tour, I was bored out of my mind. Ashley was working so hard, I was like, I got nothing going on. I dated, I dated like crazy, but you really need the time, it's a full-time job.

• 1:14:46Speaker 02

  Another job, yeah.

• 1:14:46Ashley Hesseltine?

Okay, we gotta get back to the story.

• 1:14:47Speaker 02

When I'm on my apps, it's like, I have to like, clock in, I'm like, alright, one hour, here we go.

• 1:14:52Ashley Hesseltine?

Okay, so you see the text, you get a little like.

• 1:14:54Speaker 02

We, I get kind of like, after I see that text, I kind of go like, get weird, even though clearly he's like, said, I'm into you, but now I'm like, acting a little shy. But like, also, I'm being open, my body language is open.

• 1:15:06Ashley Hesseltine?

  Yeah.

• 1:15:06Speaker 02

Okay? So, I'm looking for a movie, and he's like, you know, what are you gonna watch? And I said, do you have any recommendations? So he recommends this movie, which I will not name, because it was horrible. So he recommends the movie, he says, I'll watch it too, even though he's seen it. So we say, three, two, one. So we watch our movie, our dinner comes at the same time, we're eating our little meal on the plane. And I'm kind of judging him a little bit because this movie's so bad. The movie finishes, we, our dinner finishes, he looks at me, he says, I don't remember being that bad, I'm so sorry. Actually, now I'm attracted to him again because I'm like, oh, great.

• 1:15:38Rayna Greenberg?

Yeah, we can talk shit together.

• 1:15:39Speaker 02

So we are walking to baggage claim, he didn't check a bag, of course I checked 20. Oh, rewind, on the date. So he lives in Jersey, I live actually in the city, right? So he says, what are your favorite restaurants in the city? I named three restaurants, told him ice cream is my favorite food, dessert, whatever on the planet. Told him three ice cream places I like. That's important to remember.

• 1:16:01Rayna Greenberg?

  Uh huh, okay.

• 1:16:02Speaker 02

So anyways, he gets my information, we make plans for the date, okay? I don't know where we're going, I just know the time and the date. He calls me, or he texts me maybe like two hour, two or three hours from the date with the address. He said, I made reservations at, he made reservations at all three of my favorite places. He said, I didn't know which one you'd be in the mood for. And then for dessert, I figured we could go to da, da, da, da, named all the dessert places. Basically, the, he, he built the date.

• 1:16:29Rayna Greenberg?

  Yeah, yes.

• 1:16:29Speaker 02

  That I asked for.

• 1:16:30Rayna Greenberg?

  Did all the effort.

• 1:16:31Speaker 02

Great. So we go to the one that I choose, Miss Ada in Fort Greene, it's so delicious.

• 1:16:36Rayna Greenberg?

So good, I'm obsessed with it.

• 1:16:38Speaker 02

Oh my god, we're friends. Okay, we're going. So we go to Miss Ada, okay, so you, okay, you know how good Miss Ada is. Miss Ada is Mediterranean.

• 1:16:47Rayna Greenberg?

  I think it's Masada, like it's just.

• 1:16:49Speaker 02

  No, it's Miss Ada.

• 1:16:50Rayna Greenberg?

  Masada.

• 1:16:51Speaker 02

You're right. It's Miss Ada, but I feel Miss Ada's so bougie. It's Miss Ada, it's Masada.

• 1:16:56Rayna Greenberg?

  I hear you, Masada.

• 1:16:57Speaker 02

  Masada.

• 1:16:57Rayna Greenberg?

No, but Masada is a mouth.

• 1:16:58Speaker 02

Because then there's Theodora that they also own, but like, Theodora is how you say it, but it's so bougie.

• 1:17:02Rayna Greenberg?

  Okay.

• 1:17:03Speaker 02

So we went to Masada. I can't believe you corrected me on national television.

• 1:17:06Rayna Greenberg?

  Well, I think it's a.

• 1:17:07Speaker 02

  We are friends.

• 1:17:08Rayna Greenberg?

I think it's an Israeli name.

• 1:17:09Speaker 02

No, you're right, it's Masada. I apologize to everyone listening, it's Masada.

• 1:17:13Rayna Greenberg?

  Okay.

• 1:17:13Speaker 02

  Rewind, we'll just rewind.

• 1:17:14Rayna Greenberg?

Well, I was hearing Miss Ada, like Miss Ada's.

• 1:17:16Speaker 02

  No, it's Masada.

• 1:17:16Rayna Greenberg?

I was a food blogger, I went to culinary schools in the food world.

• 1:17:19Speaker 02

Okay, so you're gonna appreciate this even more. So should I rewind? We go to Miss Ada.

• 1:17:23Rayna Greenberg?

  You go there.

• 1:17:23Speaker 02

  Yeah, we go there.

• 1:17:25Ashley Hesseltine?

  Masala.

• 1:17:26Speaker 02

We go to Masala. And we sit. Well, one of the thrills of going to Masala is sitting inside because the smells are just so rich and beautiful. We sit outside, which is also still great. It's romantic, but you don't get that smell, whatever. Nobody cares about that part. So we're sitting down. It's the best food you've ever had in your life. It's so fantastic. It's the best food you've ever had. It's one of the best restaurants in New York.

• 1:17:46Rayna Greenberg?

  Co-sign, phenomenal.

• 1:17:48Speaker 02

Okay, phenomenal. So we're sitting there and we're eating. I'm a foodie. I need a man to like go there with me for a second so we can talk about how great the food is. So I'm enjoying this meal. And I say, oh, my God, this is so good. I'm talking about it. So he starts asking me all these questions, okay? And I appreciate the questions, but I must say it felt like I was a little bit on a podcast.

• 1:18:07Ashley Hesseltine?

  An interview, okay, yeah.

• 1:18:08Speaker 02

I'm loving being here with you all. This is wonderful. But it felt like, and my book had just come out, maybe a year or two, and I had just like done the book tour thing. We were always talking about the book. I was excited to just be clocked out. Okay?

• 1:18:22Ashley Hesseltine?

Yeah, yeah, be on a date, not an interview.

• 1:18:24Speaker 02

Like flirt with me a little bit, let's talk. So we're on the date. He's interviewing me. I look at him and I say, "These are all really great questions, to which you will get to know the answer to as we get to know each other." Meaning like it was just too much on the first date.

• 1:18:42Ashley Hesseltine?

  Yeah.

• 1:18:43Speaker 02

So then we continue to talk. He goes, oh, my God. He goes, I'm so sorry. He apologizes. And I think to myself, oh, my God, I'm so proud that I spoke up

• 1:18:53Ashley Hesseltine?

  Yep.

• 1:18:53Speaker 02

to this man that I don't know. I spoke on mine because I was gonna just write him out and never want to talk to him again because it was just like too much. But instead I corrected it then. We're moving on and now I can get to know him. This is great.

• 1:19:03Ashley Hesseltine?

  Yeah.

• 1:19:03Rayna Greenberg?

  Maybe he was nervous.

• 1:19:04Speaker 02

Forty-five seconds later, he says, "So in chapter three of your book,

• 1:19:11Ashley Hesseltine?

  No!

• 1:19:12Speaker 02

you talk about, and I just think it's a really interesting dichotomy because..."

• 1:19:18Rayna Greenberg?

  Oh, no. Oh, no.

• 1:19:20Speaker 02

So I say, I go, oh, my God, this...

• 1:19:25Speaker 02

Beef is so good. And he says, I'm not interested in the food. I'm interested in getting to know you.

• 1:19:32Ashley Hesseltine?

  We're at the restaurant, so.

• 1:19:34Speaker 02

  Okay.

• 1:19:35Ashley Hesseltine?

If somebody cited a podcast episode on a first date.

• 1:19:38Speaker 02

It was just, and. I will say like, you know, this man has reached out to me several times since there was once he was like, I'm looking up at the sky and I'm thinking of you and.

• 1:19:48Ashley Hesseltine?

It's too fan energy. It's too much.

• 1:19:52Ashley Hesseltine?

  I married a fan, but.

• 1:19:53Speaker 02

  I don't even remember.

• 1:19:54Ashley Hesseltine?

He acts like a normal person. There's a spectrum. It's too much. Yeah, you're like, it's, you're obsessed. We aren't equals right now.

• 1:20:01Speaker 02

So then that's the tough place because we're saying like, oh my God, I want this guy to like, love what I do. I want this guy to be my cheerleader and be my biggest fan. Yes. And because Cody said that people don't know how fun I am. So people don't know I'm fun. And this happens often on dates where guys just go in super serious. Do you know the guy that I fall for? And this is actually like my greatest problem. I always fall for the funny guy. All I ever want to do is laugh. I fall for the funny guy so much that he's funny and he doesn't have a job.

• 1:20:32Ashley Hesseltine?

They're so manipulative. I love that guy. Those guys can fuck. Those guys can fuck the daylights out of you and they will ruin your life. And you will have a great time while it's happening. The more, the more mental illness, the less of a job and the funnier they are.

• 1:20:48Speaker 02

Okay. So I would like to say now that I am 40, now that I'm 40, I have moved on and the guy needs to like, work and not only do you.

• 1:20:56Ashley Hesseltine?

  That's a bar high.

• 1:20:57Speaker 02

Not only set it high, not only does the guy need to work, but he needs to be successful and fulfilled. And so not just like, to me, I saw this thing that Tony Robbins did and Tony Robbins defined success as having everything you want. Fulfilled is when you are able to offer and give what you bring to the table to the people that you love around you. So I also want him to be fulfilled in his life, fulfilled in the work that he does. And I'm sorry, but funny humor is on my top three. It's in my, it's in my top three.

• 1:21:28Ashley Hesseltine?

You're supposed to be with this person forever. Okay. I better be entertained.

• 1:21:33Speaker 02

  Hey.

• 1:21:34Ashley Hesseltine?

Like I, I mean, people feel like, don't really know what you're talking. He is so funny. All I'm, I laugh around the house all the time. Like if, I wouldn't have it any other way. We have to spend all our time together. We don't have.

• 1:21:42Speaker 02

  All our time.

• 1:21:43Ashley Hesseltine?

But you're supposed to be with this person for forever. And they're not going to make you laugh. What are we doing?

• 1:21:50Rayna Greenberg?

Also, like, I think you can request at this age that somebody be a more, more formed person. I want somebody that's fulfilled in their life. I want somebody to come home and be like, I want to be excited to hear about their day and hear their thoughts about my day. It's really important to me, like, how you feel about yourself. Do you feel fulfilled? Because I can't be the person to fulfill you.

• 1:22:08Ashley Hesseltine?

Well, I mean, you know what? An unfulfilled man, who, I mean, I don't know. That's gonna turn into your problem.

• 1:22:15Speaker 02

An unfulfilled man can never fulfill you. He can never make you feel fulfilled. I mean, you've got to make yourself feel full, but a man that doesn't feel full has nothing to pour into you.

• 1:22:25Rayna Greenberg?

Also, I do see the side of that guy where, like, this happens to me a lot on dates, too, because what you and I and Ashley do for work is interesting, and people want to talk about it. And Ashley and I own a sex toy company. We have a podcast, and we are touring comedians and entertainers. You're part of the most famous fitness company in the world. Of course, what you do is fascinating, but there just, there has to be a balance, and you're allowed to have a preference also. You're allowed to say, I just don't want to, I don't want a date to be like this.

• 1:22:51Speaker 02

Yeah. I was tired. I was on the date, and I was tired.

• 1:22:55Rayna Greenberg?

  Yeah.

• 1:22:56Speaker 02

Because I was in an interview.

• 1:22:57Rayna Greenberg?

  Yes.

• 1:22:57Speaker 02

  I was in an interview.

• 1:22:58Rayna Greenberg?

  Yeah.

• 1:22:59Speaker 02

  It wasn't fun.

• 1:23:00Rayna Greenberg?

  Yeah.

• 1:23:00Speaker 02

Yeah. And that's, that's it. Like, a lot of the dates I go on are just not, they're just not fun. There was one that I went on recently. I want to tell you, but I don't want to tell you because he's so sweet, and he's gonna know I'm talking about him, and I liked him as a person. But like, yeah, again, it just, it's not, and I really wanted that one to work. It's just not fun.

• 1:23:19Rayna Greenberg?

I need to have fun with somebody. I said that Ashley was dating this guy who had a great job. He worked for a national football team. He had a great job, a great life. I was just like, I'm so bored. I'm like, not laughing with this guy. I want this to work so bad. I can't do it.

• 1:23:33Ashley Hesseltine?

You have to enhance our life. We have full lives. We are happy women, friends, family, great careers. Like, you have to add something. It's not just that you're a man in the home that I want to knock me up, like it used to be. I don't know. It can't just be good on paper.

• 1:23:51Speaker 02

Okay, let's play this game. He's tall.

• 1:23:55Rayna Greenberg?

  Okay.

• 1:23:56Speaker 02

Absolutely gorgeous to look at, incredible in bed.

• 1:23:59Rayna Greenberg?

  Okay.

• 1:24:00Speaker 02

  And he's not funny.

• 1:24:01Rayna Greenberg?

  No.

• 1:24:01Speaker 02

  Or...

• 1:24:03Rayna Greenberg?

  That's short-lived.

• 1:24:04Speaker 02

Or he's not the height that you prefer. He, you're not attracted to him. Like it grows on you, you see it, but you don't look at him. He's fine. It's okay.

• 1:24:17Rayna Greenberg?

  He's so funny.

• 1:24:19Speaker 02

  You cry laughing.

• 1:24:20Rayna Greenberg?

It's that guy. I mean, my last serious boyfriend, I would not, objectively like a good enough looking guy, but no one's like stopping on the street to look at him. He was maybe 5'10". A good enough looking guy. The best sex I've ever had in my life. And so funny. Like that's what I want. You think about the things that will longevity in a relationship. I mean, you will get tired of fucking somebody. So you gotta have somebody you like hanging out with.

• 1:24:45Ashley Hesseltine?

And you guys had a great emotional bond.

• 1:24:47Rayna Greenberg?

Yeah, there was lots of good things.

• 1:24:48Ashley Hesseltine?

It's more like enough emotional depth to connect.

• 1:24:51Rayna Greenberg?

But just super good looking. I mean, I've tried that. I've tried to go on dates with guys that were objectively gorgeous and I didn't like their personalities. I can't get through like two dates with those people. What about you?

• 1:25:00Speaker 02

I'd choose the same guy. I would choose him too.

• 1:25:02Rayna Greenberg?

  Yeah.

• 1:25:02Speaker 02

  Yeah, yeah, yeah.

• 1:25:03Ashley Hesseltine?

Okay. Do you get DM slides and guys coming after you? I mean, the guy in the plane obviously was a fan, but like you're, you're out there in the world.

• 1:25:11Speaker 02

  Not really. I mean, yeah.

• 1:25:12Ashley Hesseltine?

  I can't believe that.

• 1:25:13Speaker 02

Sure, but it's not the right guy.

• 1:25:16Rayna Greenberg?

  Not the guy.

• 1:25:17Speaker 02

It's always the guy who has maybe no business slipping into my DMs. Okay? It's that or ever since the Sports Illustrated swim, and it's so funny because a couple of my male teammates, they said to me, they're like, "Tune day, whatever you do, do not get in a relationship before Sports Illustrated drops." Like this is like after I'd shot it. They were like, "Whatever you do, do not get in a relationship before this issue drops." Meaning like just the men, the caliber of men that you are going to be introduced to, be in rooms with, see who now see you, it's going to increase. And so just like stay open, stay single.

• 1:25:57Ashley Hesseltine?

  Okay. I love that advice.

• 1:25:59Speaker 02

So listen, I haven't actively been trying to keep myself open. I'm just still open. Okay? So it's not like I've been like, "These great, all these men are trying to date me." And no, it's just like there's, I haven't met anybody that.

• 1:26:10Ashley Hesseltine?

Do you have a physical type at all?

• 1:26:12Speaker 02

  Absolutely.

• 1:26:13Ashley Hesseltine?

Okay. What's he look like? Let's manifest him.

• 1:26:14Speaker 02

  Who is it?

• 1:26:15Ashley Hesseltine?

  Comparing to an instructor.

• 1:26:17Speaker 02

  You're cute.

• 1:26:19Rayna Greenberg?

  I don't know.

• 1:26:19Speaker 02

You tried it. You tried it.

• 1:26:21Ashley Hesseltine?

  Cody.

• 1:26:21Speaker 02

  I have been so shipped.

• 1:26:22Rayna Greenberg?

  More Alex.

• 1:26:23Speaker 02

I have been shipped with almost every instructor on the team. People thought that me and Cody were together. I shit you not.

• 1:26:29Ashley Hesseltine?

  Cody is.

• 1:26:30Speaker 02

  He's a beautiful man. He's happily gay.

• 1:26:32Ashley Hesseltine?

  Cody is so handsome.

• 1:26:33Speaker 02

  And gay presenting.

• 1:26:35Ashley Hesseltine?

  So beautiful.

• 1:26:36Speaker 02

So gorgeous. And even more beautiful in person.

• 1:26:38Ashley Hesseltine?

He's so tall. No, he walks in a room, he like takes your breath away.

• 1:26:42Rayna Greenberg?

I want to ask you one more. Would you rather?

• 1:26:44Speaker 02

  Okay.

• 1:26:44Rayna Greenberg?

  Like, is he?

• 1:26:44Speaker 02

Well, let me give you my type, just in case he's listening, babe. Let me like also sit up. My type is, I'm very open. Like, listen, I, I, I said earlier, like, the funny guy is always going to win my heart. Funny, charismatic, a great smile, beautiful teeth are like, ah.

• 1:27:01Ashley Hesseltine?

  Yeah.

• 1:27:02Speaker 02

  When I'm, when I'm holding a man.

• 1:27:05Speaker 02

When I'm being held by a man, like, I like to, you know, feel like, you know, you want to feel like a bear is wrapped around you, right? That being said, sure, I would love him to be taller than me. I think, you know, that's what most people would say, is that a deal breaker for me? Absolutely not.

• 1:27:19Ashley Hesseltine?

  Okay. Money?

• 1:27:20Speaker 02

I would love to be attracted to him. No, here's the thing is like, when you say money, what is money? Does he, is he, are you asking, do I need a man to make more than me?

• 1:27:28Ashley Hesseltine?

  Do you have a preference?

• 1:27:29Speaker 02

Of, sure, I would love for a man to make more than me, but he doesn't have to.

• 1:27:33Ashley Hesseltine?

  But good luck.

• 1:27:36Speaker 02

  Well, like.

• 1:27:36Ashley Hesseltine?

  But good fucking luck.

• 1:27:38Speaker 02

No, but he doesn't have to. It's not a deal breaker for me. At the same time, like, if I say, hey, let's get up and let's go on this trip, I want you to financially.

• 1:27:46Ashley Hesseltine?

  To be able to go.

• 1:27:47Speaker 02

To be able to go. Not just monetarily, but also have the space within your career to be able to do that.

• 1:27:52Ashley Hesseltine?

  Yeah.

• 1:27:53Speaker 02

And so, I, yeah, I work really, really, really, really hard and I am so fortunate to be able to enjoy my life. I would love to find a partner that is able to enjoy life with me.

• 1:28:06Ashley Hesseltine?

  Totally.

• 1:28:07Speaker 02

And I also would love for a man to not feel intimidated by my success. And nine times out of 10, and when he has his own, he doesn't.

• 1:28:13Ashley Hesseltine?

So enough money. I mean, I watched Kiki Palmer in this interview and I just haven't stopped thinking about it. And she's like, I don't need money. I got money.

• 1:28:20Speaker 02

  Right.

• 1:28:21Ashley Hesseltine?

Of course, you want a man with a job who is, again, fulfilled, you're not paying for him.

• 1:28:25Speaker 02

Right. But I don't need you to pay my bills.

• 1:28:27Ashley Hesseltine?

But exactly. And I just love that she said that. She was like, I have the money. I want the support and all the other things that a partner could provide. And I just love that she said that. So we had a guest on recently. Her name's Amy Chan and she's a dating coach. She's moving to New York so you guys can connect. She does this dating experiment and you go on dates with nine people and you can't get in a relationship with any of them. And they all need to be very different.

• 1:28:48Speaker 02

I've heard this on your podcast.

• 1:28:49Ashley Hesseltine?

It's great. Yeah. And you can't, because then the stakes are low and they're, they need to be different than your quote unquote type. But it sounds like you're pretty open in the first place. But it's just, I like to recommend it and keep it in mind because it's just a good way to like get outside of yourself.

• 1:29:05Speaker 02

Okay, I have an idea. This is my idea. Amy Chan, I listened to this episode. Amy Chan and I, this is what we need to do for my last single summer. You have me back. You have Amy back. She sits down, she therapies me. She makes me do the nine thing.

• 1:29:21Ashley Hesseltine?

  Uh huh.

• 1:29:21Speaker 02

And then this time next year, we are back and I implemented Amy's rules. And I tell you how the hell that single summer went.

• 1:29:33Ashley Hesseltine?

I love this. And this will, episode will come out on June 1st. So like June 1st, 2027.

• 1:29:37Rayna Greenberg?

  Beginning of single summer.

• 1:29:39Ashley Hesseltine?

Yeah, it couldn't be more perfect.

• 1:29:41Rayna Greenberg?

  Yep.

• 1:29:41Ashley Hesseltine?

We need to connect you with her. I mean.

• 1:29:42Speaker 02

I need to be connected with Amy.

• 1:29:43Rayna Greenberg?

  She's moving here. She's phenomenal.

• 1:29:45Ashley Hesseltine?

And she's, Rain has had sessions with her before and she'll like kind of draw stuff out of you. And she says everyone she meets with for the most part is like one to two tweaks away from like meeting their person, getting into a healthy relationship.

• 1:29:56Speaker 02

What did she say your tweak was? What do you need to do?

• 1:29:57Rayna Greenberg?

I was still in love with the person that was ruining my life. So I was allowing to ruin my life. And then I wrote an hour of comedy about it and I've been touring it.

• 1:30:06Rayna Greenberg?

I turned my pain into money.

• 1:30:08Speaker 02

Take your broken heart, turn it into art. It's art. Helping others heal.

• 1:30:13Rayna Greenberg?

Thank you. Well, let's, let's end with you. Anything you want to tell people where to find you, other than Sports Illustrated and Peloton? Anything else you have coming up?

• 1:30:21Speaker 02

I am also on Tyler Perry's hit show Sisters.

• 1:30:27Rayna Greenberg?

  Hell, yeah.

• 1:30:27Speaker 02

I'm a serious regular on the show, so check that out on BET.

• 1:30:31Rayna Greenberg?

  Love that.

• 1:30:32Speaker 02

That's been a very fulfilling, I keep using this word today, but just like fulfilling energy role, no pen intended, for me to just step into this, again, in this chapter of my life. And then, of course, yeah, find me on the Peloton, babe.

• 1:30:42Rayna Greenberg?

  Oh, yeah.

• 1:30:43Speaker 02

  Pick up my book, Speak.

• 1:30:44Ashley Hesseltine?

And we didn't mention this, you guys, but if you haven't taken the Magic Mike ride, Toon Daisy Instructor, it's the best thing I've ever seen, aside from her Beyonce class with Alex and all of her classes, honestly, but this ride is wild. And we talked to you a little bit about the behind the scenes and you didn't quite know how they were going to incorporate the guys. I don't want to give any spoilers, but find this Magic Mike ride and take it.

• 1:31:04Speaker 02

There are married women across the country.

• 1:31:08Ashley Hesseltine?

  Just watching it.

• 1:31:09Speaker 02

Who have been waking up at 4:00 a.m. before their husbands or partners to take that class for the last several months. And so.

• 1:31:17Ashley Hesseltine?

  It's hot.

• 1:31:17Speaker 02

  Enjoy it.

• 1:31:18Ashley Hesseltine?

I came up from the basement, my Peloton's the basement. Shashank was on the couch. I was like, I'm so horny. I gotta be honest, I'm stretching just to, he was like, yeah, can tell.

• 1:31:28Speaker 02

We've visited so many emotions together. You've cried during the Beyonce ride and now I've like sparked new feelings in you.

• 1:31:35Ashley Hesseltine?

It's like my therapy. It's, I don't, I don't work out for my weight or anything. I mean, I genuinely work.

• 1:31:41Rayna Greenberg?

I'm just perfect the way I am.

• 1:31:42Ashley Hesseltine?

No, no, no, but like, I don't get on the bike with that intention. Yeah, whatever, I want to look a certain type of way, but I, it's my mental health. So it's just, you know, you guys really changed lives.

• 1:31:50Speaker 02

  We aim to please.

• 1:31:51Ashley Hesseltine?

  Yeah.

• 1:31:51Speaker 02

  Thank you.

• 1:31:52Ashley Hesseltine?

  Okay, well, your Instagram?

• 1:31:53Speaker 02

I love, we're trying to be serious now, so, uh, yes, my Instagram is Toon2ToonDay.

• 1:31:57Ashley Hesseltine?

  Toon2ToonDay.

• 1:31:58Speaker 02

Yeah, this was so much fun. Thank you so much for me. I'm sad it's over. When are you coming back to New York?

• 1:32:03Ashley Hesseltine?

Um, I'll be back. I'm hopefully signing at least today for July 1st.

• 1:32:07Speaker 02
