Encounters x279 – Haunted Objects

This Encounters episode is all about the objects you’ve thrifted, inherited, or accidentally welcomed into your home—only to realize… something else came with them. Haunted objects include: An IKEA mirror with bad vibes strong enough to tear a family apart. A haunted sewing table that may have unleashed a lava-skinned demon on a pink princess scooter. A beautiful vintage chair with a possible incubus attachment. Harry Houdini’s clock, which refuses to stay quiet at 3AM. Ghosts, pacing apparitions, haunted furniture, creepy-ass creatures, and demons who refused to leave—this episode is packed with listener stories that’ll make you think twice, or cleanse twice, when picking up that antique at the thrift store. • 2:00Corinne Vien?

  Very spooky. Hi.

• 2:04Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  What's up?

• 2:05Corinne Vien?

This is Two Girls, One Ghost.

• 2:06Sabrina Deana-Roga?

Two Girls, One Ghost. We are your ghostesses. That is Corinne.

• 2:10Corinne Vien?

  Hello.

• 2:10Sabrina Deana-Roga?

I'm Sabrina. And I'm gonna grab Andy for today.

• 2:13Corinne Vien?

  He's needed.

• 2:14Sabrina Deana-Roga?

It feels appropriate to hold an object that people would look at and say, "Well, that's creepy." While we talk about haunted objects.

• 2:24Corinne Vien?

Is Andy haunted? We're not sure.

• 2:26Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  I don't think so.

• 2:27Corinne Vien?

Is Ann haunted? She's up in the back corner. We're not sure.

• 2:31Sabrina Deana-Roga?

I don't think these ones are.

• 2:32Corinne Vien?

If they're haunted, it's with the best vibes.

• 2:34Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  The best.

• 2:35Corinne Vien?

  They protected us on tour.

• 2:36Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  Yeah.

• 2:37Corinne Vien?

One of our listeners gave us Ann and Andy.

• 2:40Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  And thrifted them for us.

• 2:41Corinne Vien?

Thrifted them. And they were our comfort item because it's scary going up on stage and we just held them in our laps and we're like shaking in our boots every single-

• 2:48Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  Just like this.

• 2:49Corinne Vien?

  Every single show.

• 2:50Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  Yeah. They grounded us.

• 2:51Corinne Vien?

We are clearly a group of ghost-loving, paranormal-loving people.

• 2:55Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  Freaks.

• 2:56Corinne Vien?

And with that, a lot of you go thrifting. A lot of you go antiquing. A lot of you bring objects in your home that you think, "Wow, this is beautiful." And then you email us months later saying, "Oh, my God, what did I do?"

• 3:09Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  Mm-hmm.

• 3:10Corinne Vien?

And so we have themed this Encounters episode haunted antiques.

• 3:14Sabrina Deana-Roga?

And objects. And listen, Corinne has a really good method and theory behind antiquing.

• 3:19Corinne Vien?

  I do.

• 3:20Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  Because you never know-

• 3:21Corinne Vien?

  It serves me well.

• 3:22Sabrina Deana-Roga?

You never know if something is attached to an object that you bring home. Also, it doesn't have to be old. Like, we read a story about a chair from Goodwill that was-

• 3:31Corinne Vien?

You had a teddy bear from Costco.

• 3:32Sabrina Deana-Roga?

I had a teddy bear from Costco, a brand-new teddy bear that gave nightmares, the nightmare-inducing teddy bear. But what's your method? Will you share it with everyone?

• 3:39Corinne Vien?

Well, it's interesting because when we had Georgia Hartstark on, she said something similar, which is when I was asking her, like, "Do you think some of the vintage items you've collected or whatever?" And she had the same train of thought as me, which is, "If you have so much love and so much enjoyment and appreciation for an item that you're picking up to bring home, if there is anything attached to it..." You won't have probably a haunting, or at least a bad haunting, because they will appreciate how much you are loving the object and all of the good energy you're projecting onto it.

• 4:11Sabrina Deana-Roga?

Yes. And then also, your other method that you've told me, or methodology, is that you decide whether or not you're gonna buy something, if like, you love it so much, it doesn't matter if it's haunted.

• 4:22Corinne Vien?

  But that's true.

• 4:23Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  Yeah.

• 4:23Corinne Vien?

  Yeah.

• 4:24Sabrina Deana-Roga?

Antiqueing 101, how to? Should I go first?

• 4:28Corinne Vien?

  I'm gonna go first.

• 4:30Corinne Vien?

Mine is so short, but it's so good.

• 4:31Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  Okay.

• 4:31Corinne Vien?

Okay. It's called Houdini's Haunted Clock. Yes, really.

• 4:35Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  Like, the Houdini?

• 4:36Corinne Vien?

The Harry Houdini. Hi, ladies and ghosts. I've been listening to your podcast since 2024. I started from the beginning and you are way too hard on yourselves. I was hooked from the start. It's currently March 1st, 2025. I've caught up. This story took place at my parents' house in Cornwall, UK. It was built in the 90s, and they've had no ghostly activity until now. My boyfriend's mom was staying with them in the guest room. In this room, there is an antique clock that once belonged to Houdini. My mom inherited it from her dad, who bought it off of a magician.

• 5:09Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  Stop.

• 5:10Corinne Vien?

My mom has always said that it's haunted, but nothing's ever given us proof, until last week. My boyfriend's mom is woken up at 3 a.m., yes, 3 fucking a.m., by the sound of the clock chiming. This clock has not been wound in years. Her husband, my boyfriend's dad, recently passed away, so she thinks maybe it was him coming through to say hello. Creepy way to say hi, in my opinion. I immediately called my parents and said, "Next time I visit, I'm not sleeping in the same room as that clock, and I'll be bringing my sage." How crazy if I hear this story once I'm all caught up with the pod. That will be a sad day, as I listen all day at work and a lot at home, too. See you on the other side, Poppy.

• 5:52Corinne Vien?

Harry Houdini's Clock. Harry Houdini, who worked so tirelessly to try to prove paranormal, who tried to astral project across-

• 6:01Sabrina Deana-Roga?

I know, him and his wife.

• 6:02Corinne Vien?

Vast distances with his wife. His wife who hosted seances to try to communicate with Harry.

• 6:08Sabrina Deana-Roga?

I wish I had a wife like that. I do. I could, I could. I wish I had a partner like that. Wow. That's so cool. And it's one of those things where it's like, is this Houdini? Or is this a spirit who decided to make their presence known through the clock?

• 6:25Corinne Vien?

  Right.

• 6:25Sabrina Deana-Roga?

Because what creepy way can I let everyone know I'm here? Let me make a clock chime.

• 6:30Corinne Vien?

A clock that hasn't been in use in a really long time. And just, it's the connection. It's the connection to Harry and everything that he was doing.

• 6:36Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  What if it is Harry?

• 6:38Corinne Vien?

  That would be very cool.

• 6:38Sabrina Deana-Roga?

He's going through all of his objects, everything that he encountered to try to prove to people that the paranormal exists. Because he couldn't do it in life, and so he's trying to do it. But he is only popping by once to each object, hoping that someone will like, be like, I'm here, I'm listening, Harry.

• 6:54Corinne Vien?

Right. He's just trying to get the right audience. And so far, no one has clocked it.

• 6:58Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  He's still.

• 6:59Corinne Vien?

That was unintentional again. I love when that happens.

• 7:05Corinne Vien?

  That's good.

• 7:06Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  That was really good.

• 7:07Corinne Vien?

  Thanks.

• 7:07Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  No one has clocked it.

• 7:08Corinne Vien?

Thanks, but like, that was not meant.

• 7:11Sabrina Deana-Roga?

No, but I think some of the ones that get you are the most exciting ones. Like you're, there's a toe puller of foot.

• 7:18Corinne Vien?

  Toe puller of foot.

• 7:20Sabrina Deana-Roga?

What if we filled this bookshelf with just old clocks? Kind of like Captain Hook.

• 7:25Corinne Vien?

Oh, my gosh, I would actually be very down for that. But I will shit myself if when I'm creeping down in the middle of the night to get a bottle of renoa, everything starts going off.

• 7:33Sabrina Deana-Roga?

Yeah, it's not like you said, getting a bottle of renoa rather than bottle for Noah. And it's like, what is this renoa that you're drinking?

• 7:41Corinne Vien?

  It's my magical elixir.

• 7:42Sabrina Deana-Roga?

Yeah. Okay, I'm going to read one from our listener Stacy. It is called Evil Haunted Mirror. Hello, ghostesses, ghosts and Leia. My name is Stacy. I love listening to your podcast. And so does my nine-year-old son. He says that we are ghost buddies and always asks me to play your podcast when we drive anywhere. And yes, I am proud part of the pyramid scheme and tell all of my friends about your podcast. I have always had some abilities growing up. Some ESP, seeing auras, some clairaudience, and I love crystals and. Nature. Today, I would love to share the story I have about a haunted mirror that was in my daughter's room. To start the story, we bought our house in 2013 as my family of my fiance. My daughter and I were moving out of a condo for more space.

• 8:25Sabrina Deana-Roga?

I had just had my son and we needed another bedroom. My daughter was eight at the time and a very happy playful child. The new house was nice and it had a welcoming feel to it right away. It had enough rooms for everyone. Two of the bedrooms had long mirrors left in them. We didn't think anything about them and just left them there. I had always wanted a long mirror, so I was excited. One of these mirrors was in my daughter's room. And I know what you're thinking, but I promise it was not an antique mirror. It was truly from Ikea. As the years passed, my daughter started to show abilities as an empath. She also developed a problem handling her emotions and anxiety. Little things would send her into tears and she and I began to fight more and more. It felt so unusual to me as we had always been so close, but I chalked it up to the teenage years taking its toll.

• 9:10Sabrina Deana-Roga?

In 2020 and 2021, I started to explore my own abilities and started reading about paganism and then starting to classify myself as an eclectic witch. I practiced different types, green witch, kitchen witch, etc. And I had a growing uneasy feeling about that mirror in her room. So I did a mirror lock spell on it with black salt to try to help protect my daughter. I wasn't sure it helped much, but I did notice a small change. I then saw a TikTok about someone using the Ghost Tube app that can supposedly pick up words from spirits and thought, hey, be fun to see if anything in our house gets picked up. And I recently found out about the old owner of our home who passed away in the kitchen a while back and I wondered maybe she was still here. We got a few words upstairs about a sailor, a few random words in our living room,

• 9:53Sabrina Deana-Roga?

but in my daughter's room, we got words like hell and evil.

• 9:57Corinne Vien?

  My god.

• 9:58Sabrina Deana-Roga?

We have cleansed her room multiple times, salted the doors and windows, but it has always had this odd feeling and I could never stay in the room for long. Imagine like you feel that way, imagine living in that room.

• 10:09Corinne Vien?

Right. And also more proof that Ghost Tube does do something.

• 10:13Sabrina Deana-Roga?

If I tried, we would always end up fighting. I noticed more and more that my son and husband were also starting to get angry quicker and fighting more. My daughter then went on a band trip this past winter in 2021, and I went to my room by myself to use the Ghost Tube app. I asked if there was someone in her room, and the words I got were hell, grandfather, murdered, shopkeeper. I told the spirit that whoever it was, we were not the ones who did anything to him. We were the new owners of the house, and it was our space. They were to leave my daughter alone. I then asked if something was attached to the mirror in her room, and it immediately responded, yes. I had full-body chills. I immediately took the mirror off the wall, and I could almost feel the evil coming off the mirror. I took it outside, placed it face down on the porch,

• 10:58Sabrina Deana-Roga?

and went back inside, cleansed my house, telling the spirit that it was not welcome back inside the home and had to leave. I talked to my daughter later that day to check on her while she was in Florida, and she said that she had been fine most of the day, but that randomly, at around 3:30, she almost passed out. This was the exact same time that I took the mirror out of the house.

• 11:19Corinne Vien?

Oh, I hate how connected they are.

• 11:21Sabrina Deana-Roga?

I didn't tell her because I didn't want to alarm her while she was away, but when she came home a few days later, she mentioned that her room felt a lot lighter, that she could actually hear the sounds outside of her window now, and she had never noticed them before. My husband and I are now able to stay in the room with her without fighting. Her anxiety has decreased, and she's handling her emotions better. She's also in counseling to help with anything left from behind, from what I assume was attached in that mirror as well. Truly, everyone in the house just seems a lot happier now. And I can't believe the change in myself and my husband since getting rid of the mirror. It was left out front of our house, and someone picked it up? I wish them luck. I hope it was the trash. I hope the trash picked it up.

• 12:02Corinne Vien?

I feel you have to leave a note.

• 12:03Sabrina Deana-Roga?

I don't know what was attached. I know. I don't know what was attached to that mirror, but I'm so happy it is no longer haunting my family. I'll have to email you later about how my mother-in-law loves to play pranks on our family from the other side. Thank you for reading, and thanks for your amazing podcast. Give Leia some scratches from my daughter. See you on the other side, Stacy.

• 12:22Corinne Vien?

Wow. Oh, my God. That's so crazy.

• 12:26Corinne Vien?

Now I'm so curious. Now I want to go through our inbox and see if anyone

• 12:30Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  picked up a haunted mirror.

• 12:31Corinne Vien?

A haunted mirror on the side of the road.

• 12:33Sabrina Deana-Roga?

Well, that's the hard thing is like, how do you properly dispose of haunted objects? Because you're not supposed to burn them. And you know, there are a lot of Craigslist listings, Etsy listings, eBay listings of people selling them to each their own and there's a market for that.

• 12:49Corinne Vien?

Do it just so that people know what they're getting into.

• 12:52Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  Right.

• 12:52Corinne Vien?

But then you have to wait. There's a waiting period. If you're so desperate to just get rid of something. And I mean, clearly this affected them so much.

• 13:01Sabrina Deana-Roga?

And it's almost like they didn't realize how bad it was until it was gone.

• 13:05Corinne Vien?

  Yeah.

• 13:05Sabrina Deana-Roga?

The fact that her daughter was like, I can hear the sounds outside.

• 13:09Corinne Vien?

  Exactly.

• 13:10Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  Which is crazy.

• 13:11Corinne Vien?

And something happening that's like so intense. Like there was some sort of like tether between her and whatever was attached to this mirror. And the hope is that, and it did seem to happen, that when the mirror is disposed of, that thing goes with it. Because just because an object is haunted, doesn't mean that it will stay haunted. Right? Like there's always the opportunity that something will choose to tether itself

• 13:38Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  Right.

• 13:38Corinne Vien?

  to you.

• 13:39Sabrina Deana-Roga?

Also, mirrors are said to be portals. So even if it's a mirror from Ikea, like you never know what's coming through. And now I have this conspiracy in my mind of like, robots creating mirrors and knowing the idea of creating a haunting through intention. Could they create mirrors and objects with the intention of creating a haunted object? And just with the intention, even though it's painted by a robot, that could cause something to be haunted? Am I going too far?

• 14:07Corinne Vien?

My brain. Almost there. I'm like picturing a conveyor belt situation of just like haunted objects getting pumped out.

• 14:15Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  Right.

• 14:15Corinne Vien?

  Ooh.

• 14:16Sabrina Deana-Roga?

And then everything starts to walk. It's Toy Story.

• 14:21Corinne Vien?

Scary. It's very scary. Another scary thing is having a douchey cardiologist, and that is what this person encountered.

• 14:27Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  Okay.

• 14:28Corinne Vien?

Hello, Corinne and Sabrina. My name is Brittany. Feel free to use my name as much as you would like. I've also changed all of the names in my story, except for mine, so you don't have to worry. I'm a fairly new listener. I started back in March of 2024, and I was listening to y'alls Lizzie Borden episode with the ladies from Morbid. Shout out Ash and Elena. And in my few months of listening, I have listened to all of your encounters episodes, all of the recorded campfire stories, which is on Patreon. And let me just say, you girls are so damn funny to listen to.

• 14:53Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  It's very nice. Thank you.

• 14:55Corinne Vien?

You have me cackling, crying, shitting bricks and internally screaming while I'm at work for my 10-hour shifts in a cabinet shop, which I'm 99% sure is haunted by at least one spirit, but I'll tell you that story later.

• 15:07Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  A cabinet shop?

• 15:09Corinne Vien?

  A cabinet shop.

• 15:11Sabrina Deana-Roga?

I mean, that makes sense, because trees, if they're made out of wood, like, I feel like trees carry so much energy.

• 15:16Corinne Vien?

Haunted by the spirits of the trees?

• 15:19Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  Yeah.

• 15:19Corinne Vien?

  That you've killed.

• 15:21Sabrina Deana-Roga?

But also think about, like, if anyone died in those woods or the forest where trees are, and their body was left decaying in the soil where the roots of the trees are, do the trees then, like, absorb that energy and carry on that energy?

• 15:35Corinne Vien?

Or do they absorb the memories of those people? You know, like, when you get an organ transplant and suddenly people are remembering all these things that didn't belong to their life?

• 15:44Sabrina Deana-Roga?

And these conversations are why people think that we're very woo-woo.

• 15:47Corinne Vien?

Well, aren't you? How could you not be?

• 15:49Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  How could you not be?

• 15:50Corinne Vien?

  It's so interesting.

• 15:51Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  It's so fascinating.

• 15:52Corinne Vien?

The unknown and person with us.

• 15:54Sabrina Deana-Roga?

And recognize that we don't know anything, and that's okay. But we want to believe, and we like to talk about it and theorize.

• 16:00Corinne Vien?

  I'm mad at you now.

• 16:03Corinne Vien?

Back to my gushing, you guys make my long shifts much more easy and tolerable, but I don't know a lot of people who are into the paranormal world. So when I do listen to you, I feel like I have two new spooky best friends and an even bigger community of spooky people who like to have the shit scared out of them just for the fun of it. So basically, thanks for being my new favorite spooky friends. Now into my story. Just a preface, I can't tell a story without including all of the details and then some, so bear with me. Back in 2021, I was dating this guy, and around this time, I started dealing with some heart problems. They weren't anything too crazy, just dizziness, nausea, occasionally I'd pass out. That's not nothing. No biggie.

• 16:44Corinne Vien?

I'm no doctor, but Biggie. Also, I'm all good now.

• 16:47Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  That's good.

• 16:48Corinne Vien?

It turned out to just be anxiety.

• 16:50Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  Oh, yes, been there.

• 16:52Corinne Vien?

I did go to the cardiologist at one point to get a second opinion and he said something along the lines of, if you want your heart to stop freaking out, I suggest you get a boob reduction. Like, what? Who the fuck says that to a 14-year-old?

• 17:05Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  Ew.

• 17:05Corinne Vien?

He was a jerk. Anyway, back to my story.

• 17:08Sabrina Deana-Roga?

What does that have to do with anything?

• 17:10Corinne Vien?

Stop looking at a 14-year-old's boobs. Huberto.

• 17:14Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  That's disgusting.

• 17:15Corinne Vien?

  I know. Douchey cardiologist.

• 17:17Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  Let's haunt him.

• 17:18Corinne Vien?

This is the most horrifying part of the story is that man's comment.

• 17:21Sabrina Deana-Roga?

Sorry, I have to take the hair that's in my toe off. Don't look at my toes. Freaks. I have always struggled with where to put eyeshadow, but I just discovered Thrive Cosmetics' new Focus Eyeshadow Palette, and it has changed the game because it has four essential shades, and then it's each labeled with where they go, like the lid, the crease, the fine or highlight. And now I have the perfect eyeshadow routine every single day.

• 17:48Corinne Vien?

It's so great. It's such a good cheat sheet. And then even if you don't want to do the full routine, I love their Brilliant Eye Brightener because I just slap that right on. Like, I wore one of the shades of that to a little séance we did the other day.

• 18:01Sabrina Deana-Roga?

Ooh, spooky. Also, their Liquid Lash Extension Mascara, I'm wearing it right now. It's so good. And all their products are 100% vegan, cruelty-free, and made with clean, skin-loving ingredients that work with your skin, not against it. Every time I use it and I'm around my mom, she's like, "Ooh, will you do my makeup for me?"

• 18:17Corinne Vien?

Someone asked us the other day if we had our makeup professionally done when we were wearing a bunch of Thrive, and we're like, "Wow, no, but thanks."

• 18:22Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  Toss, toss.

• 19:07Corinne Vien?

So back in March of 2021, my boyfriend at the time's mom went to a Goodwill store and found an antique table with a built-in sewing machine. I'm a sucker for antiques, so she sent me a picture and a location and I promptly made my way over. I bought the table, I put it right in my bedroom, and this will tie into the story later. And a few weeks later, I was at my boyfriend's house. We were down in his sister's room watching Coraline. And to set the scene, there were four of us in the room and we were sitting on a queen-sized mattress that his sister had on the floor. I was closest to the bedroom door on the far left. Sitting next to me was my boyfriend, Dylan. Next to him was his sister Maggie, and next to her was their cousin Leah. I was watching the movie and slowly my focus started shifting from the movie to the bedroom door that opened into the pitch-black living room. And as I stared out of the bedroom

• 19:51Corinne Vien?

door, I could see four or five figures pacing back and forth through the living room. I could tell they weren't anyone from his family, considering that, well, they were transparent and they had a faint white glow to them.

• 20:04Sabrina Deana-Roga?

Hey, do you have any relatives who are transparent?

• 20:07Corinne Vien?

Any see-through relatives on your side that I didn't know about? I have a thin veil and I can usually sense if a spirit is good or if they have harmful intentions. And these spirits did not have any harmful intentions, but the energy they were giving off was slightly panicked and concerned.

• 20:22Sabrina Deana-Roga?

Yeah, the pacing and especially being outside the room made me feel like they were anxious.

• 20:26Corinne Vien?

Yeah. While I was watching them pace back and forth, my heart started to freak out. It was beating very quickly and I started to feel nauseous. The room began to spin out a little bit and I started sweating profusely. I wasn't sure what to do, so I continued to stare out into the living room until I completely zoned out. And I don't know how long I was staring out the doorway and I don't really remember what happened during that time. After I finally came back to reality, Dylan was looking at me very concerned. And when I asked him what had happened, he said that I zoned out and I put my hand on his knee and I slowly started squeezing it and it got tighter and tighter and tighter until he finally realized something was wrong and he attempted to get my attention. Dylan said he shook me and he said my name over and over and over, but he couldn't get me to snap out of it.

• 21:10Corinne Vien?

After a few failed attempts at pulling me back to the real world, he rolled up my sleeve, grabbed my bare arm, and finally snapped me out of it. Almost immediately, he asked me if I was okay, and I said, "I need you to help me to the bathroom." Normally, I would have gone by myself, but I was just so dizzy. I wasn't sure if I was able to make it to the bathroom without passing out. He helped me up, and we walked through the living room with the pacing spirits, into the kitchen and sat on the couch, and he waited for me to come out of the bathroom. I don't remember being in the bathroom, but I do remember walking out of the bathroom and sitting on the couch next to him. We sat there for a minute and just doom scrolled on Instagram. And while we were watching videos, I heard a noise in the far right corner of the kitchen, which just so happened to be the darkest corner.

• 21:51Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  Of course.

• 21:51Corinne Vien?

My head cocked to the side, and I stared at the corner for a few minutes, trying to build up my courage to get my ass up and back to the safety of the bedroom. When I was coming to the conclusion that I was too big of a wimp and that the couch was about to become my permanent residence, I heard someone walk down the hall that led into the kitchen. Correction, I heard something tap down the hall. And I don't mean tap dance. I mean like how the blue haired lady would scrape her way down the sidewalk by her nasty ass nails. That was the only way I could describe what I was hearing. That sound sent chills down my spine, and it lit a fire under my ass. I immediately shot up. I told Dylan, "We have to get back to the bedroom right now."

• 22:35Corinne Vien?

And he slowly got up, not understanding the gravity of the situation. And when he got up, he grabbed onto me again to keep me stable, and I led the way. Not even four steps away from the couch, I came face to crotch with a hideous creature standing on a pink princess scooter. I can see this creature so vividly in my head, and I'm not fully sure how to explain what I saw. So I'll try my best.

• 22:58Sabrina Deana-Roga?

What? I mean, I do love its form of transportation.

• 23:02Corinne Vien?

  Right? I know. It's fun.

• 23:05Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  I'm a pretty, pretty princess.

• 23:06Corinne Vien?

I'm a pretty, pretty princess. It was about three feet tall. It had long claws on its hands and on its feet. Its teeth were long and razor sharp. His mouth was curled into a half smile, a half snarl. Its skin was charcoal. It was completely cracked from head to toe. In between the cracks was this glowing substance, almost like lava. The best way I can describe it was Anakin Walker's skin in Star Wars after he gets burnt to a crisp when he's fighting Obi-Wan. He had this glowing red eyes, and on top of this creature's head were three small, wispy, sad excuses for hair.

• 23:37Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  Three.

• 23:39Corinne Vien?

Does he comb it? Does he braid it?

• 23:41Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  The three pieces.

• 23:42Corinne Vien?

He has three pieces. You could do a lot. Naturally, after seeing this creature or demon, me after a long night of drinking, I stopped in my tracks. My feet were no longer working. Forward my mail here because this is where I die. I physically could not move. I made eye contact with this thing and it became the most intense staring contest that I have ever participated in. As it was staring into my soul and smiling at me with this horrible toothy grin, Dylan was behind me and was like, babe, why'd you stop? Babe, keep walking. Babe, I'm tired. I want to go back to the bedroom. Babe, babe, babe.

• 24:17Sabrina Deana-Roga?

To be oblivious is the best thing in the world right now.

• 24:20Corinne Vien?

I tried my hardest to explain that there was something standing on the scooter and I couldn't move. And this boy goes, there's nothing there. My heart dropped to my butt. Not only was this creature in front of me, but now I'm the only one that can see it. How lovely. Rolls eyes. Dylan kept trying to get me to move and after a few minutes of telling him that I couldn't, he ended up pushing me past this creepy little thing through the living room with the pacing spirits. And as soon as my legs started working again, I high-tailed it into the bedroom. I dove onto the bed. And as soon as Dylan and I sat down, Leah shot up and said, I'm gonna throw up. And she ran to the bathroom and she threw up. I shut up. I turned on the lights. I turned off the movie and I told everyone, we need to go upstairs right now. We went upstairs. Leah called her mom to have her come get her.

• 25:04Corinne Vien?

Dylan and Maggie were completely unfazed, just eating bowls of cereal. And I was sitting by the counter in fetal position, rocking back and forth, trying to process what had just happened. I don't remember most of the night, but I do remember getting in a fight with Dylan because he refused to believe that I had seen anything that night. He was young, maybe a little dumb, but I digress.

• 25:22Sabrina Deana-Roga?

Also, how do you explain this to anyone? Like when your vision of reality is so different from someone else's?

• 25:30Corinne Vien?

  When they're right there too.

• 25:31Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  Right there. Yeah.

• 25:33Corinne Vien?

Yeah, it would be hard to understand. A little over a year later, Dylan and I had broken up. I was living the single life. I hadn't really experienced anything paranormal since that night, but I shut everything out due to the terror that I had felt. I went down to the pool in my neighborhood with my friend Kiki and we sat in the hot tub for about an hour. Neighborhood hot tubs?

• 25:52Sabrina Deana-Roga?

You've got to get a hot tub in your backyard so we can record from the hot tub.

• 25:55Corinne Vien?

Right. So why doesn't my neighborhood have a neighborhood hot tub?

• 25:59Sabrina Deana-Roga?

You could make the neighborhood hot tub in your backyard.

• 26:01Corinne Vien?

I'll get a personal hot tub. Right when we were about to get out of the hot tub, the air became really heavy and thick and it felt like I was gonna die. Kiki was absolutely fine. She knew there was something outside of the pool house, but she didn't really feel like it was there to harm her. So she was a little bit happier. She was happier than pig and shit. I, however, was having a borderline panic attack because the terror that I was feeling was the exact same terror from that one fateful night. I don't know for sure if it was the same creature from that night, but I was pretty sure. So I tried to calm myself down and then I heard something ram into the glass doors on the other end of the pool house, like it was trying to get in. And all hell broke loose. And to make this long story short, I called my mom, made her come down and get us.

• 26:45Corinne Vien?

I was so afraid to leave the building in fear of being attacked by this thing. And after that, I blocked anything paranormal out again because I was just so scared of having another experience like that.

• 26:53Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  Right.

• 26:54Corinne Vien?

So fast forward another almost two years, which puts us into April of 2024. I was sitting in my room one night. It was probably midnight and I'm getting myself set up for a long night of watching New Girl and crocheting. Yes, I'm aware that I'm an 80-year-old trapped in an 18-year-old's body. And as I was starting the episode, the energy outside of my bedroom changed. It went from light and airy to dark and heavy within seconds. It was that same feeling I had those other two nights. I tried to ignore it. I told myself, nope, I wasn't gonna leave my bedroom. I don't need to worry. About 15 minutes after that, I had to pee. Of frickin' course I had to pee.

• 27:33Corinne Vien?

I held off as long as I could and when I couldn't wait any longer, I grew a pair and I ran out of my bedroom into the bathroom and I locked the door. I happened to look into the kitchen on my way to the bathroom and I saw the outline of a short creature standing in my kitchen. Waiting for me. I stayed in the bathroom for 20 minutes staring at the door because I was just too afraid to open it, knowing that this creature could be on the other side, ready to scare the living shit out of me. I finally got up the courage. I opened the door, ready to slap that motherfucker into next Tuesday. And to my surprise, it wasn't standing there. So I darted back into my room, but not without catching a glimpse of it standing in the same place it was when I went to the bathroom.

• 28:11Sabrina Deana-Roga?

What the fuck is this thing?

• 28:12Corinne Vien?

I know. As soon as I shut and locked my bedroom door, I felt the energy move from the kitchen to right outside of my bedroom door.

• 28:19Sabrina Deana-Roga?

I'm feeling heavy, like I have a heavy feeling on my chest.

• 28:22Corinne Vien?

It's creepy. The air does feel a little thicker in here.

• 28:24Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  Yeah.

• 28:25Corinne Vien?

I leaped onto my bed and this started my night from hell.

• 28:28Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  No.

• 28:29Corinne Vien?

I turned on New Girl. I tried to focus on Winnie the Bish and Ferguson and I could not shake the awful feeling that I had. It felt like I wasn't safe. My family wasn't safe. And on top of that, yeah, girl had to pee again.

• 28:43Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  Nope.

• 28:43Corinne Vien?

That's my bad for drinking a full Dr. Pepper before bed, I guess. Not knowing what to do, I began to pray, cast out the demon in the only way that I knew, by saying, in the name of Jesus Christ, I compel thee to leave. You are not welcome here. You have not been invited in and you need to go back to where you came from with love and light. Or some shit like that. And love and light, peace.

• 29:05Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  Peace. Kindly, regards.

• 29:07Corinne Vien?

Usually this works on the first go, one and done, but not this time. This time, this thing was resilient. By this point, it was about 1 a.m. and I felt like he was here to stay. So I began to pray and cast out the demon over and over and over again for hours. The whole time this was going down, this fucker was camping outside of my bedroom door, rattling the doorknob every little bit, just to taunt me. And I was starting to feel desperate. I really had to pee. I wanted to go to bed. I wanted to just keep my family safe. And I decided enough was enough with this bullshit. So I knelt down on my bed, facing the door, and out loud, I said something along the lines of, in the name of Jesus Christ, I command thee to leave. You are not welcome in my house. You are not welcome

• 29:51Corinne Vien?

on our property. You are not welcome on this earth. God and his angels stand guard around my house and my property and they protect me and my family. Now leave with love and light. And never return. Within seconds, I felt the presence just outside of my bedroom door move up onto the hill outside of my bedroom.

• 30:10Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  Interesting.

• 30:10Corinne Vien?

I was finally able to get up and use the bathroom with no problems and only a little bit of leftover fear.

• 30:16Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  Hmm.

• 30:16Corinne Vien?

And when I finally laid down to go to bed, the creature found a new way to torment me.

• 30:21Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  No.

• 30:21Corinne Vien?

Every time I would close my eyes, I would see a vision of a horrible death being played in my mind.

• 30:26Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  Oh, no.

• 30:27Corinne Vien?

The two I remember most were just awful. The first, this beautiful young woman, held underwater until she died. The second was a little boy running across the street, nailed by a bus. Safe to say, I did not get much sleep that night. A few days later, I was listening to your podcast and one of the encounters episodes, someone mentioned a haunted coat rack. My brain immediately started connecting the dots and I started to wonder if that antique sewing table that had been in my room for the past three years actually had this little thing attached to it. If this was the reason that I was experiencing these things. My mom is an energy worker, so I ran over to her and asked her to come check the energy attached to my table.

• 31:05Sabrina Deana-Roga?

Can she check the energy of this episode? Because it's off.

• 31:09Corinne Vien?

It's off. You almost look hazy to me, too.

• 31:11Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  I feel hazy.

• 31:13Corinne Vien?

Isn't it weird? Are we gonna faint? Like, the room feels like there's a mist in it.

• 31:18Sabrina Deana-Roga?

I know. I'm like, am I about to get an aura migraine? That's how it feels.

• 31:21Corinne Vien?

  Yeah.

• 31:21Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  Like, the onset of that.

• 31:24Sabrina Deana-Roga?

What have you done to us?

• 31:25Corinne Vien?

  Have we?

• 31:26Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  This is your fault.

• 31:27Corinne Vien?

  Giving it to us?

• 31:28Sabrina Deana-Roga?

Did we give it back to you?

• 31:29Corinne Vien?

With love and light. Peace out, little thingy.

• 31:32Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  Best wishes.

• 31:33Corinne Vien?

Best wishes. Kind regards. You can't come here.

• 31:36Sabrina Deana-Roga?

You can't sit with us. Please and thank you and best wishes.

• 31:41Corinne Vien?

  T T Y L.

• 31:41Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  Peace and blessings.

• 31:42Corinne Vien?

But talk to you never. Sure enough, she felt that it was. As soon as I got home from work that day, hauled that table out of my bedroom. I put it in the bed of our truck so I could take it to the dumpster at work the next day. I could feel the negative energy again that night, and I guess maybe I pissed it off when I took it out of my room. But it's only fair because it damn near scared me to death. The next day, my dad helped me break it, throw it into the dumpster, and I felt the presence at my work for a few days until they came and took that big dumpster away. I haven't felt the presence since.

• 32:13Sabrina Deana-Roga?

So it's like sticky. Because you were in its presence for so long, it could still hold on to you a little bit.

• 32:18Corinne Vien?

  Right.

• 32:19Sabrina Deana-Roga?

Until it was too far away from you. Whoa.

• 32:22Corinne Vien?

I haven't felt that presence since. Your podcast saved my ass. If I hadn't listened to that episode the next day, I probably would have still had that haunted little table at the end of my bed. So, thank you. You girls are seriously so fun and amazing. And this is not the only story I have, from Brittany.

• 32:38Sabrina Deana-Roga?

Well, Brittany, we're glad that we could help you, and thanks for haunting us now.

• 32:42Corinne Vien?

And thanks to everyone who sends in their haunted stories, because if we hadn't read that story, Brittany wouldn't have.

• 32:47Sabrina Deana-Roga?

Exactly. This is a community group effort. I don't know what this entity was, but I think it's safe to say, or this is my theory. I think we can blame douchey cardiologist and that this creepy energy that was following you around actually had to do with him.

• 33:04Corinne Vien?

  Oh, interesting.

• 33:05Sabrina Deana-Roga?

Because that way you described this entity, I feel like is the representation of his icky soul.

• 33:11Corinne Vien?

Should have brought the sewing table to his office.

• 33:14Sabrina Deana-Roga?

Yeah, just be like, hey, here's a gift for you.

• 33:16Corinne Vien?

The meeting. Doesn't everyone love an antique?

• 33:19Sabrina Deana-Roga?

I will say, though, when Brittany saw the like multiple figures pacing, I almost feel like, and it sounds like Brittany has experienced a lot of anxiety in life, it makes me feel like those are her guardians and that they also experience anxiety. And they get anxious that then Brittany can pick up on, and then like the anxiety gets worse.

• 33:42Corinne Vien?

Right. And she had the sewing table, and so they were all like, oh my God, shit, shit, shit, there's this thing.

• 33:46Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  Yeah.

• 33:47Corinne Vien?

What do we do? What do we do?

• 33:48Sabrina Deana-Roga?

The pace. Let's make her feel this anxiety.

• 33:51Corinne Vien?

Oh, my God. Also, how dare this little creature just sit on this pink scooter? Scooters are for fun, not for taunting.

• 33:59Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  Not for frightening.

• 34:00Corinne Vien?

And it also just makes me think of Facebook Marketplace, because every time I go on there, there's a million antique sewing tables. And I'm always like, oh, they're so beautiful. I should get one. And I'm like, what am I going to do with an antique sewing table?

• 34:11Sabrina Deana-Roga?

I really want a really cool old antique, I think they're called setes.

• 34:15Corinne Vien?

  Yeah.

• 34:15Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  Or like the couches.

• 34:16Corinne Vien?

  Mm-hmm.

• 34:17Sabrina Deana-Roga?

I really want one of those.

• 34:18Corinne Vien?

  My parents have one.

• 34:19Sabrina Deana-Roga?

Well, this is the thing. I wish that I had kept all of my grandmother and great grandmother's furniture, because literally every Pinterest board is my grandmother's house.

• 34:30Sabrina Deana-Roga?

But we have more stories. Here is one, this has a lot of different stories and it is from our listener Abigail and it is called Haunted Antique Chair, Sleep Paralysis, Incubus, Shadow People, and Cat Guardian.

• 34:44Corinne Vien?

  Wow.

• 34:45Sabrina Deana-Roga?

There's a content warning for this story for sexual assault, death, and suicide. And if you're watching on YouTube, we have chapters, so if you would like to skip this story, you can skip to the next chapter. Hello ladies, my name is Abby, she/her. I've been a viewer for almost a year and I immediately became a huge fan and started from the beginning, listening to nearly seven episodes a day.

• 35:06Corinne Vien?

Geez, our episodes are kinda long, too.

• 35:09Sabrina Deana-Roga?

Especially the beginning ones, because we just rambled for hours. You both are super cool and gorgeous and help me feel less crazy for believing in all of this. I've been meaning to send this in for about six months now, but I chicken out every time. So I'm just sending one large email, all of this happened back to back, so I'll tell it chronologically. I started listening to you all last July when I was desperately missing autumn and anything spooky. By the time it was August, I was redecorating my room for the fall. I bought a used desk and I remember that we had an antique chair in the garage for the past two years. It was a slim wooden chair with a green seat embroidered in flowers. Sounds beautiful. When I pulled it out of the garage, I did think it was a bit suspicious that the sticker price on it said 75 cents. That is interesting.

• 35:53Corinne Vien?

  That's a little cheap.

• 35:54Sabrina Deana-Roga?

I'm a huge thrifter and I know that how beautiful this chair was, it probably could have gone for so much more money. I remember my mom telling me she bought it at a yard sale and was so excited because of how nice of a deal it was.

• 36:06Corinne Vien?

  That's almost free.

• 36:07Sabrina Deana-Roga?

Like, it should have just been. Who carries around 75 cents? So after listening to your podcast so much, my first thought was, I really hope this isn't haunted. But I ignored my thought and told myself, relax, she probably just bought it at an estate sale and they wanted to get rid of everything. So I put it in my room. And in the following days, every time I sat in the chair, I felt guilty.

• 36:27Corinne Vien?

  Hmm.

• 36:28Sabrina Deana-Roga?

About two weeks later, I had realized I became afraid of this chair. But I told myself, I'm being silly. It's just my anxiety running rampant. And I have a cat named Minnie, so of course she started to claw at the seat. And as soon as I saw her do this, I started to panic. I shoot her away and without thinking, I apologized to the chair. After this occurrence, Minnie began acting erratic and scared around the chair, even hissing at it. This is all stuff that was happening during the day. But every night, while I tried to sleep, I felt like a figure was watching me. I'd face the wall while I slept and Minnie would sleep on the pillow next to me, facing the desk. She would stare at the chair and I'd watch her eyes get big like she saw someone there. There were even a few times where she would sit up or stand to get a better look at it.

• 37:12Sabrina Deana-Roga?

This was happening every night. And at this time, there was a lot of bad stuff going on. My 27-year-old cousin, who had MS and type 1 diabetes, was paralyzed in hospice. And I had taken a year off of college because I really didn't know what I wanted to do with my life anymore. And my mom and I were fighting every day. Two years before this, in 2021, I had a ghost roommate. She was very polite and felt like a guardian, at least from what I sensed. It felt like an elderly woman who really reminded me of my grandma. She would stand at the end of my bed every night and I would just smile at her. I've always lived in a very toxic home environment. So while that sounds crazy to be so nonchalant about it, I had a lot more going on that took my attention more. One night, I was half asleep and felt this woman firmly grasp my foot,

• 37:56Sabrina Deana-Roga?

like a handshake minus the shake. And I remember thinking, that's a ghost. She's not harmful, though.

• 38:02Corinne Vien?

  Aww.

• 38:03Sabrina Deana-Roga?

And then I kicked her hand off my foot and fell back to sleep.

• 38:07Sabrina Deana-Roga?

She's not harmful, but get off of me. About two weeks later, my mom called me into the living room to tell me that she thought our house was haunted. I said, I know. I felt someone grab my foot when I was sleeping. My mom never told me what she experienced to think our house was haunted, but when I told her this, she freaked out. She immediately called my uncle, who is a pastor, and the next day he was over.

• 38:26Corinne Vien?

So clearly, whatever she experienced was not as intense as this. So she's like, what?

• 38:30Sabrina Deana-Roga?

Right, right. Or it felt more ominous, whereas Abby was like, this felt fine.

• 38:36Corinne Vien?

Yeah, it's just someone giving a little.

• 38:38Sabrina Deana-Roga?

So my uncle sat on the couch in silence, which I assume means he was praying. And he said the spirit was a nice spirit and a woman. I never told any of that to them, and I never said that I thought she was a woman. So when he confirmed this, I really started to trust myself more with these kinds of things.

• 38:52Corinne Vien?

I like that they say he's a pastor, but like, he's a medium.

• 38:55Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  Yeah. Hey, I support it.

• 38:58Corinne Vien?

  He's clairvoyant.

• 38:59Sabrina Deana-Roga?

Yeah. My mom, still freaked out, said, um, well, that's nice, but can you please tell her to leave? So my uncle went around the house rebuking the spirit while touching the top of every doorway and anointing it with oil. I think it was called blessed oil. I don't know. But he walked through every room with his Bible open to scripture, then stood in the middle of the house, and everyone joined him while he prayed. That night, my room was empty, and I really felt alone. I was shocked to find myself missing my ghost friend. And I didn't even really know this ghost, but she felt like a friend.

• 40:27Sabrina Deana-Roga?

Anyway, back to August of 2023. My roommate, who came with the chair, was an entirely different experience. Thinking back, going into our garage when the chair was there, that always gave me a stinking feeling in my stomach. And I thought that rather than it just being an evil spirit, it was maybe upset with me for sitting in the chair, like it was their chair. So I thought, okay, maybe if I'm nice to them, then we could be on good terms, like that last ghost who I still missed. However, this presence felt like a girl from a long time ago, maybe from whenever the chair was built. I brought my old desk chair in to use instead and kept the haunted chair in my room. I felt so silly, like I was walking on eggshells around this chair. During my break from college, I was working at an art museum and asked my coworkers if they believed in ghosts.

Thankfully, one woman did, and we shared stories. Once I felt like she would take me seriously, I asked her for advice on the chair, and she told me that I needed to assert my dominance and show them who was in control of the space. She said that if I showed fear, it would give them more power. So that day after work, I looked up how to cleanse the space with incense, but my windows in my room didn't open. So there I was in my room waving this incense around like an idiot with my windows closed, telling the spirit that they are not welcome and needed to leave. And I showed the spirit who's boss by putting a quilt over the back of the chair and one of my throw pillows in the seat to reclaim it as my own. You guys, I am an idiot.

• 41:47Corinne Vien?

  Oh, no.

• 41:48Sabrina Deana-Roga?

In the days following, I would hear my mom calling me, except when I would go to the living room where it came from, my mom was sleeping, or wasn't home, or swore she did not call my name.

• 41:59Corinne Vien?

  Oh.

• 42:00Sabrina Deana-Roga?

When walking from room to room throughout the day, I would see my cat running past me, only it was blurry. And shortly after, my actual cat would always walk in from a completely different direction. So I ignored this for a few weeks because, you know, pretend it's not happening means it's not happening, right? Until I began seeing figures that looked like my mom brushing by my shoulder or standing in the kitchen just staring at me.

• 42:24Corinne Vien?

  Oh, yuck.

• 42:26Sabrina Deana-Roga?

Once again, the figure was blurred. There was no face or any features to make it out. My mom is five foot four, and this figure was standing at least six feet tall.

• 42:36Corinne Vien?

  Hell, no. Hell, no.

• 42:37Sabrina Deana-Roga?

I continued ignoring it but didn't sit in the chair. I continued to be watched at night while my cat would get scared by whatever was standing behind me. I started waking up nightly at 3:00 a.m. and couldn't sleep until after 4:00 a.m. I felt myself getting more and more fatigued as the days went on. So in the middle of all this happening, my mom and I had made the three-hour trip to go see my cousin twice that month. It was so sad. She had lost so much weight that her bones were sticking out and her arms... Arms and legs were contorted to avoid laying on bed sores. It was clear that this place was understaffed with way too many patients, but it was all my family could afford. She was living through a machine and could only move her eyes to communicate. We asked her to look up and down or to blink to answer questions, and you could tell that even that was exhausting for her.

• 43:20Sabrina Deana-Roga?

My aunt had been talking about her this whole time like she had been getting better, but after seeing her, I knew that my aunt was in denial. She had already lost a daughter five years prior to suicide and now would be losing her youngest daughter. She was in such bad condition that when my little sister, who was sixteen at the time, walked into the room, had to leave immediately and burst into tears.

• 43:42Sabrina Deana-Roga?

I felt horrible because we only saw her twice for a few hours while she sat there, unable to move, trapped in her mind and in pain for months.

• 43:49Corinne Vien?

  That's terrible.

• 43:50Sabrina Deana-Roga?

But the drive was long and we really couldn't afford it and our car needed so many repairs. And at that time, we were truly living paycheck to paycheck. It was really sad and I hardly got to see her. After living with this angry spirit through August and September, my cousin died of sepsis on September twenty ninth, twenty twenty-three. But I remember feeling so much relief because I could tell she wasn't in pain anymore. We drove to our family hometown to attend the funeral on October first. The service was chaotic, to say the least, but that's what happens when you get a bunch of alcoholics together. Everyone was so stressed and preparing for the funeral like they had decided that the funeral would be the day that morning. Her name was Kelsey. Her sister Caitlin, who died earlier, they were only two years apart. Growing up as older sister to my little sister,

• 44:34Sabrina Deana-Roga?

Caitlin and Kelsey felt like my big sisters. They both lived with my family throughout the years growing up and we even fought like real sisters, stealing each other's stuff and all that. With everything going on and with the spirit at my house and being an avid listener to your podcast, I feel like I had really opened myself up to spirits. I was at the cemetery for the funeral and everyone was catching up with each other when I felt someone watching me. When I looked, I saw her, Kelsey, standing there with the biggest smile. She looked beautiful and so healthy. I was in awe and started sobbing. This poor girl had experienced so much pain and was in a wheelchair for a year before becoming fully paralyzed.

• 45:16Sabrina Deana-Roga?

So to see her smiling, standing there, really felt like winning the lottery. I was so happy for her. She wasn't wasting any time still being angry because here she was free of her pain. It was only a few seconds, but it really felt like a lifetime. I looked around to see if anyone was with her and I realized no one did. I looked back and she was gone, but I could sense her standing by her mother. After returning home, I was so giddy and I felt like I had opened myself up with so much of the intention of her visiting me again that I felt the warmth and comforting energy around me. The night after we had returned home, I had a dream I was attending her funeral again. I remember walking around the banquet with my whole family there, including members who had passed away years before. I asked my other aunt,

• 45:57Sabrina Deana-Roga?

who had passed 11 years prior, what was happening. We already had Kelsey's funeral. She responded with something along the lines of, well, this is her spiritual funeral.

• 46:05Corinne Vien?

  I love this.

• 46:07Sabrina Deana-Roga?

Yeah. It felt like I was in whatever afterlife was, but that I hadn't died. It was like I was a kid again, chasing around all my teenager cousins, except we were all grown, like we are now. The family members that were dead looked like healthy versions of themselves before they died. I asked where Kelsey was and explained how she would show up and that we will see her again. My other aunt didn't believe me, but I got distracted and then stopped explaining and I said, I'll just tell you when she appears. But then my cousins in this dreamscape ran to some other room and said, Kelsey's in there. So I eagerly followed them, wanting to catch Kelsey. But when I entered that room, what I saw was horrifying. There was a demon torturing various family members. It was like they were under his control or addicted to him.

• 46:52Corinne Vien?

  What?

• 46:52Sabrina Deana-Roga?

They were lusting after him and begging him to have sex while he was having sex with another person, like they were waiting in line. I was standing there in horror, unable to move, crying and screaming for him to stop. I feel like this is the entity attached to the chair.

• 47:07Corinne Vien?

Yeah, this is also like, what the fuck?

• 47:10Sabrina Deana-Roga?

Horrifying. While they were being allured by him, he was torturing them. Some really horrific, terrible things are happening to Abby's family members. People are letting out blood curdling screams. He only stopped to let out a malicious laugh. My mom ran in when she heard the scream and begged me to make it stop. I frantically yelled, "I can't, I don't know how." I tried forcing myself awake, opening my eyes felt like pulling muscles. And once I did, I was facing my wall, looking at paint. Then my eyes were closed again and it was like I was being pulled back in. He was an inch from my face and to this day, I have an exact image of what he looked like in my head and I will never forget it. I have never felt fear like this before. I screamed in terror while he laughed at me, taunted me,

• 47:52Sabrina Deana-Roga?

ripping his burned and rotting flesh off of his skin and breaking his bones with a grin. Then it was over. I woke up in panic, moving away from the wall frantically. It was 3:00 AM. I didn't sleep for the rest of the night and that morning, I was opening the museum cafe. I felt cold and sweaty. I truly couldn't remember driving to work or getting ready that morning because it felt like I was being fed on and just in a daze.

• 48:15Corinne Vien?

  Ew.

• 48:16Sabrina Deana-Roga?

Then I remembered the chair in my room. And I thought, wow, I've been so foolish to ignore the shadows I saw throughout my house, to keep myself so open to the other side while being so blind of the dangers of it when ill-prepared. So I looked how to get rid of a haunted object respectfully and put the chair back in the garage. What had felt like a little girl's spirit now felt like a tall, large, black figure constantly watching me. I had to stop listening to the podcast. The nightly occurrences continued. My body felt exhausted and I couldn't wait any longer. I was struggling to find somewhere that would accept haunted objects and ship the chair. And instead, I had a yard sale while the weather was still mostly nice in Oklahoma. A woman bought this chair for her daughter's wedding chairs.

• 48:59Sabrina Deana-Roga?

My mom told me it was too nice to price at 75 cents and instead she sold it for $5. I don't know what I feel worse about. The fact that I passed this on to someone else or that I made $4.25 while passing it off to someone else. I feel horrible, but I was losing my mind and I had to get rid of the chair.

• 49:17Corinne Vien?

  And a wedding chair.

• 49:19Sabrina Deana-Roga?

Fortunately for that woman, this thing was no longer attached to the chair. It was now attached to me.

• 49:26Corinne Vien?

No, oh, I just said that this could possibly happen.

• 49:30Sabrina Deana-Roga?

To wrap this up, like I said, I've always grown up in a toxic environment. And that following weekend, my mom and I had a conversation about boundaries. And instead of listening to anything I said, she turned it around to me and kicked me out of the house at 1 a.m. I called my boyfriend, who came over and helped me pack whatever I could take with me at that moment. And of course, I took my cat, Minnie. He drove me to his parents' house where he explained what happened and they offered me their spare bedroom, telling me I was welcome to stay as long as I needed. I told myself that I couldn't bring paranormal activity to their house because they were too good of people. So I kept not listening to the podcast. I cut off everything to do with the paranormal out of fear. I threw out all of my witchy stuff. At this time, I realized the demon was attached to me. My first night there, I just fell asleep on the couch.

• 50:12Sabrina Deana-Roga?

And I spent the next day settling into their spare bedroom before my boyfriend went back to college. My first night alone in the spare bedroom, I woke up at 3 a.m. I was lying on my back, unable to move despite trying so hard to fling my body in every direction. As he crawled from the dark corner of the ceiling, down the wall, and onto the bed, and onto me. He let out his malicious laugh with a toothy grin as he crawled closer to my face. I was fighting to scream, but nothing came out. Then, after stuttering and gasping, I was finally able to burst out the word "no" as loud as I could. And slowly, he backed up. "I'm coming back for you." I sat up quickly. I scanned the room multiple times. I slept the lights on that night, and I think the only reason I got to sleep at all was because my body was so drained at this point.

• 50:57Sabrina Deana-Roga?

My boyfriend's dad worked down the block from my job, so he was able to drive me there, but asked if I could get a job closer to their house. I put my two weeks in at the museum, and as a parting gift, my coworker gave me black obsidian for protection.

• 51:08Corinne Vien?

  Good.

• 51:09Sabrina Deana-Roga?

My boyfriend's mom read her Bible every morning and was very active in her church. And my boyfriend told me, two days after the last time I was visited in my sleep, that her prayer group prayed over me. He told me that they prayed over me at every Bible study. And I told myself, this is all just a mental breakdown. Ghosts aren't real. Which, deep down, I know that that's not the truth, but I was just trying to not let this happen anymore. Throughout October and November, I slowly stopped being in denial. And by December of 2023, I was able to listen to the podcast again and love all things spooky. I'm way more cautious now, and I've learned a lot from you all. I do believe that my boyfriend's family and his mom praying over me really offered me protection, and I no longer am visited by this entity. Stay spooky, Abby.

• 51:53Corinne Vien?

Abby, holy shit. It's like, part of me is so glad that it's not attached to the chair, so that this thing isn't just being passed on with whoever pays 75 cents for this chair.

• 52:04Sabrina Deana-Roga?

Well, it was attached to the chair, and then it got attached to Abby.

• 52:07Corinne Vien?

Yes, and now I'm glad that it was attached to Abby, and now it's not.

• 52:10Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  Yeah, right.

• 52:11Corinne Vien?

Where it went, I don't know, but at least it's not.

• 52:13Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  It's not with Abby.

• 52:14Corinne Vien?

Yeah, it's not with Abby, and it's not with that woman who bought it for her daughter's wedding chair.

• 52:19Sabrina Deana-Roga?

Here's a wedding gift to demon. Oh, and Abby did send like a follow-up email saying that now that it's been some time since this all happened, she's remembering more details about everything that was going on. And she remembered that, for some reason during this period of time with all the hauntings, her room kept having a fly problem. And it sounds like it followed her to her boyfriend's place as well, until this entity stopped visiting her.

• 52:43Corinne Vien?

  That's disgusting.

• 52:44Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  Yeah.

• 52:45Corinne Vien?

I'm very grateful that her boyfriend's parents and family were the way that they were. You know, gave her safety both spiritually and physically.

• 52:54Sabrina Deana-Roga?

I know. That is very special.

• 52:56Corinne Vien?

Yeah, that's really great that she had that, because it sounds like there was just enough, maybe, chaos and instability everywhere else, that it was tempting to detach from the chair and just stay with Abby.

• 53:07Sabrina Deana-Roga?

Yeah. Listen, if anything, there are multiple lessons in this story. One, be cautious of haunted objects. But two, you can also build your own family. And you can bring in people into your life that help you live the life that you deserve and want to live.

• 53:23Corinne Vien?

And we never get mad at anyone who has to stop listening to the podcast because yeah, paranormal things are happening and it's, sometimes you gotta take a break.

• 53:31Sabrina Deana-Roga?

You gotta put yourself first, protect yourself, keep the peace of your own energy. That is the most important thing and we care more about your life so that you can live a great life and that when you do pass the other side, you're not an evil, scary, malicious entity. You're just a fun, playful, let's poke fun and tease and say hello to our loved ones.

• 53:50Corinne Vien?

  Exactly.

• 53:51Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  Yeah.

• 53:51Corinne Vien?

Yeah, you might like grab or squeeze a foot here and there.

• 53:53Sabrina Deana-Roga?

Yeah. I'm sad that that ghost was banished from the house because clearly I think if that spirit had been there at the same time that the chair got there, things might have happened differently.

• 54:02Corinne Vien?

And it is interesting, like I am curious about like the family dynamics and then her uncle and kind of like what he's able to do and what he's seen. It's also one of those things where it's like, if something is good, why banish it? And also if something is good, can you even really banish it? Like that's another thing where I felt like a lot of the like banishing stuff, the cleansing is about only welcoming good and kind energy. So why then would a good, kind spirit be removed?

• 54:30Sabrina Deana-Roga?

I think you could technically remove anything and there are a lot of conversations around when you are cleansing a space to distinguish what you're trying to cleanse because you could accidentally kick out a good spirit or prevent your family and loved ones from coming through. Again, baby witches don't really know what we're talking about, but it does feel like if you're good ghosts, you probably do respect boundaries a little bit more. So with the uncle going through the house, like saying, no one's allowed here, perhaps the ghost was like, message received, peace and blessings.

• 55:04Corinne Vien?

  Wow, you guys.

• 55:05Sabrina Deana-Roga?
