• 1:30Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  Boundaries with ghosts.

• 1:30Corinne Vien?

  Yes, boundaries.

• 1:31Sabrina Deana-Roga?

Boundaries with humans. I have a story called "The Ghost That Loves Naked People."

• 1:35Corinne Vien?

And I am haunted by my neighbor's loved one.

• 1:37Sabrina Deana-Roga?

And I'm writing to tell you the story of a skeleton I dug up while I was fishing. So, excuse me?

• 1:43Corinne Vien?

  Yep.

• 1:43Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  Sharon.

• 1:44Corinne Vien?

  This episode's for you.

• 2:07Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  Hi.

• 2:07Corinne Vien?

  Hello.

• 2:08Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  Hello.

• 2:08Corinne Vien?

This is Two Girls One Ghost.

• 2:09Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  Two Girls One Ghost.

• 2:11Corinne Vien?

  We're fucking freezing.

• 2:12Sabrina Deana-Roga?

We are bundled up. We're ghostess, that's Corinne.

• 2:16Corinne Vien?

  Hello.

• 2:16Sabrina Deana-Roga?

I'm Sabrina. And this is an Encounters episode where you email us your ghost stories and we read them back to you and interrupt them and react. And sometimes people like it, some people hate it. We don't care, we're gonna keep doing it.

• 2:29Corinne Vien?

If you listen, that's all we care about, because that's just summer to the algorithm.

• 2:33Sabrina Deana-Roga?

I do need to show off my shirt real quick.

• 2:35Corinne Vien?

  Okay, let's see.

• 2:36Sabrina Deana-Roga?

And then I'll get back into my...

• 2:38Corinne Vien?

Oh my gosh, another TikTok shop. I saw that too.

• 2:42Sabrina Deana-Roga?

It says, "Stay trashy with a raccoon."

• 2:46Corinne Vien?

  Is that a regional thing?

• 2:47Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  I don't know.

• 2:47Corinne Vien?

  It's a one word.

• 2:49Sabrina Deana-Roga?

I know, well now I get in my head about it, can you... I got nervous, anyway. Stay trashy, everyone. And I was telling Corinne about how I jammed my finger into my door and the skin kinda like peeled off. And so it's been healing for a while, but it's my finger that I use for fingerprint access to all of my devices. And my devices no longer recognize my fingerprint.

• 3:13Corinne Vien?

And it's just such a shame, because now, any single finger crimes you wanted to commit, you can't.

• 3:18Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  I still have time.

• 3:19Corinne Vien?

Oh, you still have time. Or you could do it now, because your previous fingerprint has been recorded, but your new one has not. So now it's time.

• 3:25Sabrina Deana-Roga?

I think eventually it will heal it back to my...

• 3:27Corinne Vien?

  Do you think?

• 3:28Sabrina Deana-Roga?

I think, because your fingerprint is your fingerprint.

• 3:30Corinne Vien?

  I know unless you...

• 3:31Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  Unless you burn it.

• 3:32Corinne Vien?

You burn it, you can use like a grate, a cheese grater.

• 3:35Sabrina Deana-Roga?

Watch me stayin' trashy, committing single finger crimes out there.

• 3:38Corinne Vien?

  Woohoo!

• 3:39Sabrina Deana-Roga?

Watch out. What is a good single finger crime? I feel like you could do like a hook theft.

• 3:44Corinne Vien?

  Mm-hmm.

• 3:45Sabrina Deana-Roga?

You know, just get in there with a single finger.

• 3:47Corinne Vien?

  Yeah, oh.

• 3:49Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  Keys, steel keys.

• 3:50Corinne Vien?

Steel keys. Or, this would be like a petty crimes episode. When you go to those places that have out like testers of things, you know, like a Stonewall Kitchen or something, and you can try things.

• 4:00Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  Yeah.

• 4:01Corinne Vien?

Instead of using their sample sticks, or like the little pretzels they give out.

• 4:04Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  This is such a crime.

• 4:05Corinne Vien?

  Using your finger.

• 4:06Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  That's criminal.

• 4:07Corinne Vien?

Dipping your finger into the tester.

• 4:08Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  That's criminal.

• 4:09Corinne Vien?

  That's criminal.

• 4:10Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  Criminal or minimal?

• 4:11Corinne Vien?

  Criminal.

• 4:11Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  Criminal.

• 4:12Corinne Vien?

It's also criminal if you have not emailed us your ghost story.

• 4:15Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  Yeah.

• 4:15Corinne Vien?

  Because how cruel?

• 4:17Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  Yeah.

• 4:17Corinne Vien?

What cruel and unusual punishment you've given us by not-

• 4:19Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  How rude.

• 4:20Corinne Vien?

  Yeah, so rude.

• 4:21Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  You're torturing us.

• 4:22Corinne Vien?

And we're freezing over here and ghost stories often make you a little bit chilly, but we're hoping this time we get warmed up with some ghost stories. So the more you send us, it's like a magical Christmas-

• 4:33Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  That's true.

• 4:33Corinne Vien?

Santa Claus, like the more people who believe, the more magic he has.

• 4:37Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  Magic exists.

• 4:37Corinne Vien?

The more stories we get, the warmer we feel in this office.

• 4:41Sabrina Deana-Roga?

And the more we get to talk and tell you ghost stories.

• 4:43Corinne Vien?

Yeah, so please, warm us up, help with some ghost stories.

• 4:47Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  Encourage our problem.

• 4:48Corinne Vien?

So we received an email from Angelica and it kind of sets up another one. Hello spooky ladies, I have a favor to ask you. I got my old coworker slash friend to listen to your podcast back in 2018 or 2019. And she loved you girls and she bought merch from you and she would wear the sweater every Friday, but she sadly passed away in 2020 after battling cancer.

• 5:08Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  Oh.

• 5:08Corinne Vien?

But before passing away, she said that she had submitted a story and I wanted to know if you would be able to find it. You don't have to read it on the podcast, but if you do, that would be amazing.

• 5:18Sabrina Deana-Roga?

This is, oh, Angelica, I'm so sorry for your loss, but this is really, really sweet and I'm guessing you're gonna read the stories.

• 5:25Corinne Vien?

Sharon sent us three emails, so I'm gonna read all three.

• 5:29Sabrina Deana-Roga?

Sharon, we love you, we're thinking of you.

• 5:32Corinne Vien?

I'm sure Sharon still listens to the podcast.

• 5:34Sabrina Deana-Roga?

Yeah. We hope you are able to still listen.

• 5:36Corinne Vien?

This is the time that we should have had the pendulum out.

• 5:39Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  Damn it.

• 5:40Corinne Vien?

  Well, Sharon.

• 5:41Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  I forgot, Daniel.

• 5:42Corinne Vien?

This episode's for you. And by three stories, I mean two, sorry. Okay.

• 5:46Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  Math ain't mathin'.

• 5:48Corinne Vien?

Math ain't mathin', but Sharon is experiencing some ghost stories. Sharon writes, back on March 7th, 2019, my crazy ass ghost tour. Hello, supreme ghostesses, love of the podcast, I listen at work and it makes my day fly by. I just wanted to share a story about my experience at Edinburgh Manor in Iowa. My bestie and her then-boyfriend were going to do a ghost tour and wanted to know if I wanted to join them. Um, hello, ghosts? Hell yeah, I wanted to go.

• 6:13Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  Yeah.

• 6:14Corinne Vien?

This particular tour is- One that happens as a long overnight thing. You don't sleep inside the manor, but you are at the location overnight.

• 6:20Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  Yeah, cuz you don't sleep.

• 6:21Corinne Vien?

Mm hmm. There was no electricity except for one room in the main building. And one of the outbuildings also had power, but more on that later. So inside, the stairs lead up to this particularly open hallway that has T formations at both ends. The guys leading the tour put out three flashlights so that we could ask questions and see if the flashlights would turn on or not in response to our questions. I was sitting against the wall at what would have been the top of the T so that I could see down all three hallways, the stairs and all of the flashlights. There was a guy to my right at the corner of the wall as well. And as we were getting settled, the tour guide said that there had been some stories of people hearing a little girl laughing in the area that I was sitting in. And I guess they kept all the boys and girls separate and I was on where the girl's side was.

• 7:05Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  Hmm.

• 7:05Corinne Vien?

So the guy started asking questions and we all got startled because one of the flashlights went on. As that happened, I turned and I looked down the hallway to my right because I thought I heard a quiet giggle. A couple minutes later, I looked again because the giggle was louder and I noticed that the guy to my right was twisting and looking down the same hallway. So I quietly asked him if he was okay and he was like, did you hear that? And I said, the giggle? And he said, yes. And so I told him that this was actually the second time I had heard it. He had only heard it the one time though. The guide noticed us and asked what we were doing. And we both laughed and said we heard a little girl giggle. And the guide then asked the little girl if she was having fun with the two of us. And all three flashlights went on.

• 7:46Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  All three of them.

• 7:47Corinne Vien?

We all laughed and he said, thank you. And that we were having fun too and we were all glad that she was enjoying our visit. So on to the next thing. The guide had us split up and go to different areas so each group could have the best opportunity to have an experience. So my bestie, her boyfriend and I were in an area that I was told was the doctor lounge area. They walked in ahead of me and I noticed this doorway leading into what was the shower area for the doctors to use. It was pitch black in there. And I swear that it looked almost solid. It was so dark.

• 8:17Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  I don't like it.

• 8:18Corinne Vien?

I know. Especially cuz like there's lights on other places.

• 8:21Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  Right.

• 8:22Corinne Vien?

Cuz they're walking around. So like you would think.

• 8:24Sabrina Deana-Roga?

But there's no electricity. So even like flashlight light or like outside moonlight, is there no window?

• 8:30Corinne Vien?

Yeah. My bestie's boyfriend went to step in there and I sort of yelled at him to stop. I said, please don't go in there. And he looked at me all crazy, of course. And he was like, why? And as I was talking to him, I realized I couldn't look at him as he was standing right in the doorway to the showers. I said, there's something in there and it just is not good. And he laughed and asked why I said that. And I told him I couldn't keep talking to him if he was going to continue to stand there. And he's like, well, I'm gonna go in. And I said, okay, well, then I'll meet you out in the hallway. And I knew I wouldn't be able to watch him walk in there. So as I was heading into the hallway, I heard my bestie say, "Look, we know she's the sensitive one and that she feels things, so maybe you shouldn't go in there."

• 9:07Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  Way to go, bestie.

• 9:08Corinne Vien?

Yeah, way to go. Advocate for your friends.

• 9:10Sabrina Deana-Roga?

And if he goes in there after both of like those warnings, break up.

• 9:14Corinne Vien?

  That's all.

• 9:16Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  Dump him.

• 9:17Corinne Vien?

I heard him say that we were both nuts as I kept walking away.

• 9:20Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  Dump him.

• 9:22Corinne Vien?

I knew I had to get away from there. A couple of minutes later, they found me leaning on one of the walls around the corner. And they told me that he didn't go into the shower room. I don't know if this was true or not. And when they wanted to go back into that room later on, I said, I would not go. Last thing I will tell you about this place. Remember that old outbuilding I mentioned earlier, the one that had power? It was kind of like a trailer. It had a kitchen, a living room, bedrooms and bathroom for the tour people to use. The three of us went there so that we could use the bathroom. And my bestie went in first as her boyfriend and I were standing in the living room. And we remembered the story that the guide had told us about the little boy that had tragically died in a fire in this building a long time ago.

• 9:56Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  Oh.

• 9:57Corinne Vien?

Her boyfriend started talking to the little boy, saying he was sorry to hear about what happened to him. He was wondering if he was there.

• 10:03Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  Yes, that's nice. Okay.

• 10:05Corinne Vien?

Apparently only to the dead. I'm sorry, I'm like trash talking.

• 10:09Sabrina Deana-Roga?

He's being redeemed right now. Yeah. You can take him back.

• 10:12Corinne Vien?

He had one moment of just wanting to go in one haunted area and we're like.

• 10:15Sabrina Deana-Roga?

Which he might have been possessed by an entity to go in there. He was being lured. It's a siren.

• 10:20Corinne Vien?

It's also like when there's a button, it says do not push. Like you want to push it. So we understand.

• 10:25Sabrina Deana-Roga?

Listen, I would have gone in there.

• 10:26Corinne Vien?

Yeah. Yeah. All of a sudden, we hear, "Yes." In a kid's sing-song tone of voice. And we looked at each other like, what the fuck? And we said, we hoped that he was doing okay and that the people weren't scary to him. And we heard a soft, "No." Needless to say, we were both a little unnerved. And we told my bestie what happened and she was not happy that she missed it.

• 10:47Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  Aww.

• 10:48Corinne Vien?

There were a few more things that happened, but this email is already too long. Hope you enjoyed my stories. Keep on spooking. I will see you on the other side. And now.

• 10:55Sabrina Deana-Roga?

Wait, hold on. Real quick. The way I got here, I need to explain so that it makes sense and it's not so out of the blue. But you said yes, almost like the Harry Potter-like snake.

• 11:04Corinne Vien?

  Parcel tongue.

• 11:06Sabrina Deana-Roga?

And then, for some reason, it triggered a memory I had last night. I was watching Great British Baking Show when I was falling asleep, and I realized the intro music is basically the same music as The Sims.

• 11:16Corinne Vien?

  Is it?

• 11:17Sabrina Deana-Roga?

Yeah, you know how like when like Sim starts, it starts playing that music? I was like, I swear, these are the same. And I haven't listened, but like.

• 11:24Corinne Vien?

  Oh, my god.

• 11:24Sabrina Deana-Roga?

It sounds, we need to do a test right now.

• 11:27Corinne Vien?

  Yeah, yeah, yeah.

• 11:28Sabrina Deana-Roga?

Sorry. I'm really trying to fight, like, I have moments where, I don't know what diagnosis this is or what mental illness it is, but when I have, like, late-night thoughts and I really can't get them out of my head and I can't do anything else unless I figure it out, I'm really trying to fight them and not let them consume me.

• 11:44Corinne Vien?

  Hmm.

• 11:45Sabrina Deana-Roga?

So last night, I didn't give into my, I need to solve this right now.

• 11:48Corinne Vien?

Wait, you're making me remember that I had a dream and I'm devastated that I can't remember it. But I'm pretty sure it was me, you, Jerry, and Sierra. And we were, we were doing some hooligan stuff and I can't remember what it was.

• 12:00Sabrina Deana-Roga?

But when I first woke up, I was like, oh, my god, I gotta text everyone. What shenanigans were we doing?

• 12:04Corinne Vien?

I'm not sure, but it was really fun.

• 12:05Sabrina Deana-Roga?

We always have fun with them. During the intro music reminds me of the music from The Sims. And during the judging, I'm reminded of the fable. So I'm not the only one who, this was six years ago, posted on Reddit. Wait, and there's a YouTube video, music showdown, The Sims versus The Great British Bake Off.

• 12:18Corinne Vien?

  Okay, perfect.

• 12:20Sabrina Deana-Roga?

Okay. Guess which one this is.

• 12:27Corinne Vien?

I feel like it's not The Great British Bake Off because I feel like I've

• 12:32Corinne Vien?

seen that more recently and it doesn't feel like it. But this also just doesn't feel right for The Sims.

• 12:37Sabrina Deana-Roga?

I know, I feel like this doesn't sound as much of The Sims that I remember, but.

• 12:42Sabrina Deana-Roga?

This is Great British Bake, aren't they the exact same?

• 12:45Corinne Vien?

  What the fuck?

• 12:46Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  Isn't that crazy?

• 12:49Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  Back to The Sims.

• 12:55Corinne Vien?

Great British Bake Off. It's the same thing. This makes me wonder if there's just like, you know, how people can buy rights to like, just a basic thing, if that's what they did. And they both use the same thing. Yeah, that's wild. That's also wild that you made that connection. I was, as I was falling asleep. Oh, my God. Wait, so for Christmas, my brother got Noah the Jolly Jumper. And Noah was jumping in it and we were like playing music and we put on Crazy Frog. So I was like, I bet he'll vibe with like, early 2000s, middle school dance music. So we put on Crazy Frog. In the background of Crazy Frog, I was like, oh shit. It's the thing that Peter hums in Family Guy.

• 13:29Corinne Vien?

That's why I was like singing it earlier.

• 13:35Corinne Vien?

See, we're putting things together. I know. This is for inner simulation.

• 13:41Corinne Vien?

Okay, back to Sharon's stories.

• 15:10Corinne Vien?

Sharon sent one more email, and this was on September 18th, 2018. Hi ladies, I just started listening to your podcast and I love it. I've always been interested in the paranormal and have always seemed to be more sensitive. I guess you could say, maybe more sensitive than my friends and family. There are a few stories, but I have just two that stand out the most from when I was younger and I lived in Chicago. Just a little background on my home growing up to help picture what happened. My family's home is the one that my grandparents bought and my mom grew up in. My mom was a single parent, so she was my go-to for all things scary, the poor thing, lol.

• 15:42Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  Sharon was a creepy kid.

• 15:43Corinne Vien?

Yeah, love it. My family house had a full basement, the first floor where we lived, and an apartment on the second floor, and then a full attic. So when I was probably eight or nine, I was sitting in the kitchen with my grandma and we heard this loud thump on our back door. The door that I referred to was part of an enclosed back porch with two other locked doors to gain access to it. At first we thought maybe it was something from outside, but then we heard it again. And my grandma got up, she flipped on the light, opened the door, ready for trouble, but no one was there. So I went out onto the porch with her to see if anything fell, but neither of us saw anything. So we closed and locked the door and we sat back down at the kitchen table. A couple of minutes later, we heard the thump again.

• 16:23Corinne Vien?

My grandma looked at the door and said, "You're not getting in, you're not welcome here, you need to leave."

• 16:29Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  I love grandma.

• 16:30Corinne Vien?

I know. Needless to say, I was pretty scared.

• 16:34Corinne Vien?

We kept waiting to hear the thump again, but we never heard it after that. I guess my grandma saying it was not welcome had stopped it. So the second incident-

• 16:41Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  Boundaries, boundaries with ghosts-

• 16:42Corinne Vien?

  Yes, boundaries-

• 16:43Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  With humans.

• 16:44Corinne Vien?

That can be a new merch thing, boundaries, ghosts, boundaries with humans. Like, actually, we should make that.

• 16:48Sabrina Deana-Roga?

That should be on a journal, like a therapeutic journal.

• 16:51Corinne Vien?

Yeah, yeah, let's do that, I like that. Okay. The second incident happened when I was around 11 or 12 years old. My room growing up was small, and whenever I had a friend's sleepover, we slept on the living room floor. So my friends and I were laying on the floor, talking and laughing, like girls always seem to do at sleepovers, when we heard something clanging in the pipes in the basement. And our basement wasn't finished, so the pipes were exposed on the ceiling down there, which means that they were right underneath the living room floor. We both went silent. And just as we started to talk again, we heard the clang again. So we both jumped up and we ran to my mom's room to wake her and tell her what had happened. And she got up and she came down to the living room and asked us if we were sure that's what it was. And she was standing there and then it happened again.

• 17:34Corinne Vien?

So she took off into the kitchen where the door was to the basement and she flew down the stairs and I yelled at her not to go down there. But she went down a few steps. She looked over the area where the clang came, but she couldn't see anything. So she came back up, she grabbed a flashlight, she told me and my friend to stay in the kitchen and my mom was fearless.

• 17:50Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  I fucking love her mom.

• 17:51Corinne Vien?

  I know. Bad ass. Grandma.

• 17:53Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  Yeah.

• 17:53Corinne Vien?

Yeah, really strong women. She never let on to how scared she was. She went over there to see where the clang came from, turned on all the lights, shined the flashlight around and no one and nothing was there. She stood there and said, I don't know who you are or what you are, but you need to stop staring the girls and you need to go away. She came back upstairs and went to the living room with us and we all sat there talking quietly until my friend and I finally fell asleep and never heard the clang again. Hashtag fearless mom.

• 18:21Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  Aww.

• 18:21Corinne Vien?

Thanks for reading my stories. Looking forward to more scares from you. All the best, Sharon.

• 18:25Sabrina Deana-Roga?

I love Sharon's family, like the way that Sharon grew up, it's so witchy and powerful, like powerful women.

• 18:33Corinne Vien?

Very clear that mom and grandma and maybe generations before have all experienced paranormal because the fact that they're like immediately like, nope. This isn't what's happening. We're setting boundaries. Like I know what to do in this scenario makes me think that they've experienced a ton.

• 18:46Sabrina Deana-Roga?

Well, also they, she said that it was a grandparents' house. So her mom grew up in this house and now she grew up in this house. So her mom has been in this house her whole life, meaning that that clang you know is not a house noise.

• 18:58Corinne Vien?

Right. It's not a house noise. Yeah. If you spend forty some years there, you're like, mm, I know that that's not right.

• 19:05Sabrina Deana-Roga?

I do appreciate that the ghosts listen to boundaries.

• 19:08Corinne Vien?

  Yeah.

• 19:08Sabrina Deana-Roga?

Each time, maybe like it pushes the boundary a couple of times just to see, but once it's said again.

• 19:14Corinne Vien?

  Yeah.

• 19:15Sabrina Deana-Roga?

It's like, okay, I, I will appease you. I will follow your rules.

• 19:19Corinne Vien?

Also, I think if it were an intruder, I almost think that Sharon's mom's approach is scary. Like I think I would be startled if I were like an intruder and I'm hiding in the basement and I make a noise. For the person to not just like quietly like creep and check, but to like run and charge in, I'd be like, oh my God, I fucking chose the wrong place.

• 19:36Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  Yeah. I appreciate that.

• 19:37Corinne Vien?

You would appreciate that as an intruder?

• 19:39Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  Yeah.

• 19:40Corinne Vien?

  Scared the scarer.

• 19:41Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  That's always been your method.

• 19:42Corinne Vien?

  Yeah, I know.

• 19:42Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  Yeah.

• 19:43Corinne Vien?

That's why you shouldn't break into people's houses. You never know who lives on the inside.

• 19:46Sabrina Deana-Roga?

That's true. Who's scarier, those inside?

• 19:49Corinne Vien?

  Me.

• 19:50Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  Yeah.

• 19:51Corinne Vien?

  Let me tell you.

• 19:51Sabrina Deana-Roga?

In any situation, intruder or homeowner, you are scary.

• 19:55Corinne Vien?

  Thank you.

• 19:56Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  Yeah.

• 19:57Corinne Vien?

  I agree.

• 19:57Sabrina Deana-Roga?

Sharon, we love you. We hope you are still listening and we hope you know how grateful we are for you. And you clearly made such an impact on your friends and family in life and...

• 20:11Corinne Vien?

  And you're one of us.

• 20:12Sabrina Deana-Roga?

You're one of us and you will forever be one of us.

• 20:14Corinne Vien?

And we will see you on the other side. It's good. I'm gonna cry about this later in the shower.

• 20:19Sabrina Deana-Roga?

It's the appropriate place to cry.

• 20:21Corinne Vien?

  You can cry anywhere.

• 20:23Sabrina Deana-Roga?

Okay, I'm gonna pivot. This one's short and scary. This is from our listener, Bree. Hello, Corinne and Sabrina. My name is Bree, she/her, and I'm writing to tell you the story of a skeleton I dug up while I was fishing. So...

• 20:36Corinne Vien?

  Excuse me?

• 20:37Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  Yep.

• 20:37Corinne Vien?

Well, I didn't know there was digging involved with fishing.

• 20:41Sabrina Deana-Roga?

Well, she was a kid. She was nine years old. So it's springtime in southern Maine and the weather is starting to warm up. I'm about nine years old and my mom and aunt decide it's a good day to head to the nearest river, crack open a cold one and cast a few lines.

• 20:53Corinne Vien?

  Ice.

• 20:54Sabrina Deana-Roga?

We live in a pretty urban slash the suburban part of the state, so the nearest river wasn't exactly a picturesque little creek in the middle of the woods. Instead, it's a very large, fast-moving, slightly populated river. We pull up to a public boat launch, walk a little ways up to the bank and set up our camp chairs. While my mom and aunt fiddle with their tackle boxes, I wander around the immediate area. Personally, I was not interested in fishing and I wanted to dig around in the sand and play with rocks and sticks. So I'm walking up and down the little bank of the river, picking up cool rocks, when I come across something that looks like a little bone. I pick it up and sure enough, it is a little bone. Small and rounded and kinda looks like a vertebrae. I didn't think much of it because it's not too weird to find a bone outside in nature, right? So I put it to the side and I keep looking for cool rocks.

• 21:39Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  Instead, I find more bones.

• 21:43Corinne Vien?

  Frick.

• 21:44Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  Weird.

• 21:44Corinne Vien?

  Ah.

• 21:45Sabrina Deana-Roga?

An animal must have died here, right? And something ate away at it and left the bones.

• 21:49Corinne Vien?

Yeah, yeah. Or maybe you're discovering a dinosaur and you're gonna become really popular, right?

• 21:53Sabrina Deana-Roga?

These bones are bigger. There was an oddly shaped bone that looked like a hip or shoulder blade. And one about the size of a human finger. I showed my mom and aunt and they mostly brushed it off like, oh, cool. Yeah, you found an animal skeleton. So now I was no longer looking for cool rocks. Now I'm looking for bones.

• 22:11Corinne Vien?

  Hell, yeah.

• 22:12Sabrina Deana-Roga?

The bone collector. And this is where things take a turn. Right at the water's edge, I see something sticking up. Some sort of plastic material, like a tarp or a bag. In it and around it are more bones. Big bones, rib shaped bones, femur shaped bones, more finger and vertebrae shaped bones. And I start at nine years old, setting them up in the shape of a human body.

• 22:35Corinne Vien?

Oh, my God. Honestly, good, because how else are you gonna convince anyone that you're finding a human? And also, you're handling someone's dead body at nine years old.

• 22:43Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  Yeah.

• 22:43Corinne Vien?

And but very determined to be like, no, no, no, we're gonna figure out who this is.

• 22:47Sabrina Deana-Roga?

Yes. Tell us you're like, working in like a medical lab or something. I'm well on my way to assembling a full skeleton when my mom and aunt intervene and start taking a closer look at the bones and the plastic bag washed up on shore and decide, hmm, maybe this is not actually a dead animal and maybe we should call the police. So they called the non emergency line of the local police station, explained to them that we had stumbled across human looking bones wrapped in plastic on the edge of the river. Those police arrived rather quickly with a forensics team.

• 23:17Corinne Vien?

  Hmm.

• 23:17Sabrina Deana-Roga?

They taped off the area, set those tiny yellow number tents next to the bones, snapped some pictures. And after actually picking up the bones, putting them in evidence bags, one of them noticed that the shape of the ribs was not consistent with human ribs.

• 23:31Corinne Vien?

  Ah.

• 23:32Sabrina Deana-Roga?

They were flat, while human ribs are rounded. So they concluded it was either the carcass of a poached deer that was dumped in the river or sadly, someone's large dog.

• 23:42Corinne Vien?

  Oh.

• 23:42Sabrina Deana-Roga?

Well, that's how I, as a creepy kid, dug up a skeleton on the side of a river and reassembled it. Thanks for reading, Bree.

• 23:49Corinne Vien?

Bree, I'm not convinced that you didn't find a human. Because what it, that's kind of a note for serial killers. Like, if you create a mixed bag of bones.

• 23:57Sabrina Deana-Roga?

Yeah, especially like the phalanges and like finger.

• 23:59Corinne Vien?

  Yeah.

• 24:00Sabrina Deana-Roga?

Bones, because no animal has the same, like, fingers as us.

• 24:04Corinne Vien?

Right? And it's large enough, so it's not like it's a raccoon paw or something like that.

• 24:09Sabrina Deana-Roga?

But I gotta trust the forensics. Or maybe that's what they told them, because they were like.

• 24:13Corinne Vien?

Maybe that's what her mom said.

• 24:16Sabrina Deana-Roga?

You know? Bree, who told you that it was not actually human?

• 24:19Corinne Vien?

Because for them to bag it up so quickly, too. I don't know.

• 24:23Sabrina Deana-Roga?

We gotta look up where in Maine this is, southern Maine, and try to locate the year so that we can find out if, Bree, we gotta, we gotta talk.

• 24:30Corinne Vien?

Yeah, just like generally where you were in Maine.

• 24:34Sabrina Deana-Roga?

Because what if there is like a news report of

• 24:36Corinne Vien?

  Yeah.

• 24:36Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  a human body found?

• 24:38Corinne Vien?

  We gotta appreciate.

• 24:39Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  Were you gaslit, Bree?

• 24:40Corinne Vien?

Creepy kid behavior. But yeah, Bree, you need to go back and make sure that you weren't lied to. Because you may have solved a murder. Unknowingly.

• 24:49Sabrina Deana-Roga?

You may have found a murder for the cops to solve.

• 24:51Corinne Vien?

  Yeah, you solved it.

• 24:54Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  You put the bones together.

• 24:55Corinne Vien?

  Eight-year-old detective.

• 24:55Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  Where you solved it.

• 24:57Corinne Vien?

Right, without you, no one would have ever known that it was there.

• 24:59Sabrina Deana-Roga?

I imagine like as she's putting this together, all of a sudden, like a Sherlock hat gets on and like a pencil is behind her ear.

• 25:05Corinne Vien?

Right, it just poofs out of.

• 25:06Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  She goes a mustache.

• 25:07Corinne Vien?

Yeah, every time she gets like one clue closer, a new thing appears on her. She's suddenly in a trench coat.

• 25:13Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  She's smoking a cigar.

• 25:14Corinne Vien?

  Yeah.

• 25:14Sabrina Deana-Roga?

Out of a pipe, like a pipe cigar.

• 25:16Corinne Vien?

I love that. Instead of the trench coat, it's like magnifying glass and lollipops.

• 25:20Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  And a nine-year-old Sherlock.

• 25:23Corinne Vien?

Okay, this story is called Good Grandma Gilda, A Cozy True Haunting. Howdy, ghost friends. You asked for stories of being haunted by loved ones, and I am haunted by my neighbor's loved one. This is the story of my house that is haunted by the grandma that lived here before us.

• 26:42Sabrina Deana-Roga?

But I kind of love this.

• 26:44Corinne Vien?

I know. In 2015, my now husband, then fiance, and I were house hunting. We came across a cute 1960s tri-level that was priced unusually low for the market. And turns out, it was because the house was for sale by the previous owner's daughter, who lived in the adjacent property. This was the house that she had grown up in, where all of her children's grandma's house memories lived.

• 27:05Sabrina Deana-Roga?

Interesting. I feel like the fact that she lives next door, she knows the market, and she's massively underselling it.

• 27:11Corinne Vien?

Yeah. Well, they wrote, she was looking for the right buyer versus to just make as much money as possible. So obviously, she chose us.

• 27:19Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  Ah.

• 27:20Corinne Vien?

I've always been sensitive, and I had a definite feeling of having company, but didn't think much of it since there was no malice. Boy, did I underestimate the leniency of a lack of malice, and how strong the hold of a daughter not ready to let go has on her mother's soul.

• 27:37Sabrina Deana-Roga?

Wait a second. So because the neighbor wasn't ready to let go, that paranoia activity was like really dark?

• 27:45Corinne Vien?

  I guess so.

• 27:46Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  Shit.

• 27:47Corinne Vien?

Thanks to our neighbor, we knew that the former owner, Gilda, was a staunchly moral Christian. If only we had known that when we moved in. Every time my fiance and I woke up after a night of having couple time, all of the doors in the house would be open.

• 28:03Sabrina Deana-Roga?

Insert The Sims music that plays when they're woo-hoo.

• 28:09Corinne Vien?

  Like vibrating heartbed.

• 28:10Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  Yeah.

• 28:11Corinne Vien?

We'd always closed all of the doors the night before. It culminated one day when my fiance was home alone and feeling a little frisky. And, you know, he went to the bathroom and he started frisking. Well, Gilda, the good grandma, did not approve of this. He watched the doorknob turn and the door flew open as if to expose him and his shame to the world. This obviously put him right out of the mood and he realized this conversation needed to be had. We told Gilda that we were engaged. We were getting married in a couple of months. We wanted to have a baby, but we were having fertility issues. So it would be a blessing if we did get pregnant ahead of the wedding and that we intended to adopt a child, regardless of our potential biological child. That is what we wanted for this house.

• 28:52Sabrina Deana-Roga?

I love that they took the time to like tell Gilda this.

• 28:55Corinne Vien?

  Here's my family plan.

• 28:56Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  Yeah, get on board.

• 28:58Corinne Vien?

Yeah, you're in or you're out. We told her that we wanted this house to be a comforting and safe place for the people in it and that we hoped that would include her. There were no more opening doors after that, but there were little things. My perfume bottles were rearranged, the dryer buzzer going off despite my never having turned it on. Gilda helped my ADHD brain keep up with the laundry, I guess. And then we got our first foster child. All of the kids that we had would always look out to the hallway and smile and wave. Like Gilda just patrolled the halls, but didn't want to cross the line by going into their rooms. We started to refer to her as spare grandma.

• 29:37Corinne Vien?

Once, my husband and I went outside while the kids were asleep and we must have left them a little too long for Gilda's taste because when we came back in, toys were stacked on the living room's coffee table, all facing the door. A reminder that, hey, there are kids here.

• 29:53Sabrina Deana-Roga?

Gilda. This reminds me of, I just had to have a conversation with my mom literally on the drive here because we were all raised vegetarian. But Johnny eats meat. This is my sister's husband. And so like, they don't really cook meat for Noemi and for the kids. But Noemi like, well, try meat or eat meat if they're like out or if Johnny orders it. And my mom was like, I can't believe Noemi tried steak. And I was like, Mom, I really like, hope that you allow Lexi and Johnny to parent her the way that they want to. And like, please, like, don't put your opinion on to them. And also, like, especially with women and young girls. Food and like their relationship with food is so important to like make sure you nurture

• 30:35Sabrina Deana-Roga?

it properly and don't make people feel like self-conscious or guilty about what they eat. And I was like, so please, like, I hope you can like, remember that when you spend time with Noemi. Said that. My mom completely changes the topic. It's like, alright, I tried. Well, Gilda probably would. Gilda and my mom would get along. Yeah.

• 30:56Corinne Vien?

Okay. We've been here for nine years now, and the last that I heard from Gilda was a recording on our wise camera two years ago of a woman talking to our dog while no one was home.

• 31:05Sabrina Deana-Roga?

Doggy. Who's a pretty doggy? That's so cute.

• 31:11Corinne Vien?

When I showed the video to friends, they were so spooked.

• 31:13Sabrina Deana-Roga?

I want to see this video.

• 31:14Corinne Vien?

I know. And I think you'll understand that we consider Gilda now a part of the family, a true extra grandma. We were tickled to death that she kept our dog company while we were at work. She's been there for me to rage to, to pray to, to look to in the hardest of times in my adult life. But what I find most special, after we had that conversation with Gilda about our plans for the future, we found out that our neighbor was their biological child, but her brother was adopted. Fifty years later, in the same house, my husband and I would have one biological child, adopted two, and have fostered many others. And all of them went to sleep, never scared or afraid, in these new surroundings with strangers. Because I like to think they could feel the safe grandma keeping watch nearby.

• 31:59Corinne Vien?

Her name was really Gilda, but she continued to live up to her name. From Sarah.

• 32:05Sabrina Deana-Roga?

That is so sweet. The second you told her your plan and how you were having difficulty conceiving, she was like, I understand.

• 32:14Corinne Vien?

  Yeah.

• 32:15Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  And I empathize.

• 32:16Corinne Vien?

I had the same family dynamic.

• 32:17Sabrina Deana-Roga?

And I'm gonna watch out for your family. Who's a pretty little doggy?

• 32:20Corinne Vien?

  Little doggy.

• 32:21Sabrina Deana-Roga?

Who's a pretty little doggy? I feel like Sarah got a bonus mom and her kids got a bonus grandma.

• 32:27Corinne Vien?

  I know. How great.

• 32:29Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  Spare grandma.

• 32:30Corinne Vien?

  Spare grandma.

• 32:31Sabrina Deana-Roga?

Do you have a spare room?

• 32:32Corinne Vien?

No, but I have a spare grandma.

• 32:33Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  Spare grandma.

• 32:33Corinne Vien?

Also, I do love, I mean, I was not in foster care, nor was I adopted. But I feel like, well, I did date someone one time who had been adopted. And I just feel like from hearing his stories of, of being like fostered and, and eventually being adopted and stuff, like going from home to home can be so

• 32:53Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  Traumatizing.

• 32:54Corinne Vien?

Traumatizing and so scary. And I love that on every kid's first night and the many nights that followed there, they were just so consumed by a cloak of warmth and love.

• 33:06Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  Yeah.

• 33:06Corinne Vien?

Gilda was watching. Some of that was taken away from them.

• 33:09Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  That is sweet.

• 33:10Corinne Vien?

  Yeah.

• 33:11Sabrina Deana-Roga?

Oh, and Sarah, thank you for fostering and being

• 33:14Corinne Vien?

  I know.

• 33:15Sabrina Deana-Roga?

A safe place for so many children. That's beautiful.

• 33:19Corinne Vien?

  Yeah.

• 33:19Sabrina Deana-Roga?

Well, I have a story called The Ghost That Loves Naked People, A Childhood Poltergeist and the Post Office Entity.

• 33:26Corinne Vien?

  Perfect.

• 33:27Sabrina Deana-Roga?

Hello. And this does end with a pleasant, like a nicer story.

• 33:30Corinne Vien?

  Oh, I like that.

• 33:30Sabrina Deana-Roga?

So, hello, my name is Percy Hehim, and I am excited to share some of my general experiences. This is definitely not all of them, but some fun ones I thought you guys would enjoy. I am generally pretty sensitive to the paranormal and a friend who works at the metaphysical store keeps telling me that I have the ability to be more sensitive if I direct my energy more.

• 33:51Corinne Vien?

  Ooh.

• 33:52Sabrina Deana-Roga?

As a result, I have been trying to focus my energy at times in order to practice. With that background, I give you a short but creepy story. I was at the post office when I heard the door open. I decided to try to see if I could feel any presences before turning around. And so I cautiously reached out behind me with my energy. And immediately I was shocked. I did feel two presences. One was undoubtedly human and felt sad, but okay. The second one felt like it was standing behind them with a hand on their shoulder. I could feel anger and deep sadness radiating from this being. So keep in mind, Percy is literally like back to the people.

• 34:29Corinne Vien?

  Hmm.

• 34:30Sabrina Deana-Roga?

And he's just checking in with the energy behind him.

• 34:32Corinne Vien?

Yeah, which is incredible. Like your friend saying that you just need to tap in. Clearly, it's, you're close.

• 34:38Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  Yeah, you're.

• 34:39Corinne Vien?

It's trying to tap in for you. Like, it's already there.

• 34:43Sabrina Deana-Roga?

Cautiously, I turned around in line and saw in the exact places that I had felt them, a feminine person and a shadow figure. Immediately, I yanked back around, honestly a bit scared that it was that accurate, but also because the entity knew that I had felt it. I went back and forth about trying to tell the person that they had something attached to them, but I ended up not telling them, which I'm still not sure was the right move. But as I left, I was worried I would try to attach onto me. So I made a purpose to try to cleanse myself and out loud say that nothing was welcome to follow me. I wonder if it's like a family or like a relative of this woman. Okay, on to another little short story that I was amazed was true. When I was young, about nine, we lived in a place my mom nicknamed the Dump Plex.

• 35:27Sabrina Deana-Roga?

It was in a really bad section of town in southern Arizona and had a lot of issues with drugs, gangs, and guns. As you can imagine, there were a lot of spirits also around. As a kid, I hated going home to this place. The second I walked into the house, I felt sad and scared, which is hard to explain to a kid. Similar to the person who shared about her childhood home in Encounters 133, I also experienced seeing the ceiling having a shadow that grew and felt like it was a dark entity. I also distinctly remember hearing voices. And most unbelievably, I remember being on my top bunk, falling asleep, only to wake up to literal pots and pans flying out of the cabinets across the room.

• 36:06Corinne Vien?

  Holy shit.

• 36:08Sabrina Deana-Roga?

I would squeeze my eyes shut and force myself to go to bed with my heart racing. I thought for the longest time that these nightmares were fake, just kid memories, until a couple of months ago, my mom mentioned that we had a poltergeist in that home that would throw pots and pans in the kitchen.

• 36:23Corinne Vien?

Oh, my God. Can you imagine the fear of being the parent there too, witnessing all of this and being like, I don't know what to do, and I have children here?

• 36:31Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  Like, literally violently throwing things.

• 36:34Corinne Vien?

It's so scary. I'd be scared for my life.

• 36:37Sabrina Deana-Roga?

She refuses to talk about it because she's finally at a home that doesn't have any paranormal activity and she doesn't want to accidentally invite anything in.

• 36:44Corinne Vien?

  Don't call to it.

• 36:45Sabrina Deana-Roga?

As my two youngest siblings have never been in a house with any paranormal activity. But I've always wondered what she experienced to make her call it a poltergeist. The pots and pans flying around.

• 36:55Corinne Vien?

Yeah, and what more did she experience too?

• 36:57Sabrina Deana-Roga?

Because Percy was experiencing it like at night while he was sleeping in bed.

• 37:01Corinne Vien?

Yeah, I'm sure Percy had so many sleepless nights and was just so terrified as a child. But I'm glad that like in memory of it, it was almost like, oh, was that a dream? Was that not?

• 37:11Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  Right.

• 37:11Corinne Vien?

And then it was just at night. It wasn't like he was playing in the middle of the living room. Or, you know, maybe some things did happen and he has blocked it out of his memory.

• 37:19Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  We don't know.

• 37:20Corinne Vien?

That's terrifying. That's like some real poltergeist shit. That's like, you know, we research things like this where like they make movies out of.

• 37:29Sabrina Deana-Roga?

I'm pretty sure this episode is coming out between my two parter about the San Pedro poltergeist.

• 37:34Corinne Vien?

  Oh, really?

• 37:35Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  Mm hmm.

• 37:35Corinne Vien?

Okay, well, yeah, so that's a perfect example.

• 37:38Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  Month.

• 37:38Corinne Vien?

But it's just wild too that like, there's so many stories like this that are not documented, that no one's writing a film to.

• 37:45Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  Right.

• 37:45Corinne Vien?

To talk about. It's just like, people do experience this.

• 37:48Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  Mm hmm.

• 37:48Corinne Vien?

It's like my neighbors in Williston, Vermont, down the road from where my parents lived, there was an exorcism on one of the houses because shit was being taken and thrown across the rooms and they built the house.

• 38:01Sabrina Deana-Roga?

I mean, I think exorcisms are more common than we think, but we just only think of them as what we've seen in like The Exorcist and stuff.

• 38:09Corinne Vien?

Right. And oftentimes like people being exorcised versus just like homes.

• 38:12Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  Right.

• 38:13Corinne Vien?

  Cause yeah.

• 38:13Sabrina Deana-Roga?

And I think exorcism is a term that we could also might embody the term like cleansing and like ritualistic spiritual cleansings and stuff. Exorcism is just a term that we know.

• 38:27Corinne Vien?

But that's pretty wild too. It's like, what, why the pots and pans? Like, what do you, what do you need?

• 38:33Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  Demon?

• 38:33Corinne Vien?

  Soup.

• 38:34Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  Yeah.

• 38:35Corinne Vien?

Like it's soup season, broccoli cheddar, please.

• 38:37Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  I made that last night.

• 38:38Corinne Vien?

Did you? I'm having some for lunch.

• 38:40Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  Are you?

• 38:40Corinne Vien?

  Yeah.

• 38:40Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  I made a vegan one.

• 38:41Corinne Vien?

You were asking me where we got these flowers the other day and I told you Tender Crop.

• 38:45Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  Yeah.

• 38:45Corinne Vien?

And when you go to Tender Crop, if you haven't been already.

• 38:48Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  Yeah.

• 38:48Corinne Vien?

Their broccoli cheddar soup is unbelievable.

• 38:51Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  I have not been.

• 38:51Corinne Vien?

You have to, that's what I'm having for lunch today.

• 38:53Sabrina Deana-Roga?

Well, I'll bring you my broccoli cheddar and see if you like it more.

• 38:55Corinne Vien?

• 40:20Corinne Vien?

Okay, this is the last story. Third story I want to share is a lot lighter, and it took place when I was house and cat sitting for a relative in southern Arizona. I was 16 at the time, so you can imagine I was having a great time lounging the house nude, watching YouTube videos with the sound on and doing my homework in peace because I was a goody-two-shoes. I love just the nude, just like, fully naked, like YouTube videos, scratching away at your homework. I literally cannot relate to this at all, Percy. No. I also feel like the comfiest would be like big sweats, or I don't know, like, even like a fuzzy robe where you're nude underneath. I can't imagine just like fully. Yeah. But also, I don't know, we, maybe there is something to being... All natural, what's it called?

• 41:06Corinne Vien?

All natural. All mode, that's with ice cream on top. All mode, yeah. Percy, all mode. Although, if I were a guy, I think I would enjoy walking around naked because I would definitely be like... Yeah, like I would be doing the... Helicopter. What, meat spin? I would be doing the meat spin.

• 41:24Sabrina Deana-Roga?

Okay, it was my second night staying there when I got back and it was already dark. And so I went to go take a shower. I locked all the doors, did a quick check of the house before going into the bedroom with the en suite bathroom, which was a weird setup where the bed in the room faced the door of the bathroom. And I always felt like there was something watching me, but I kind of brushed it off because it didn't feel malicious. I was undressing and had just gotten nude when all of a sudden I hear the Alexa from the kitchen across the house start to play "Hey Jude" by The Beatles. Keep in mind, I'm in the middle of a desert in an isolated house in a fancy area where there is no background noise or anything for Alexa to have heard. I've watched enough horror movies at this point that I turn all of the lights back on, run into the kitchen, unplug the Alexa entirely.

• 42:07Sabrina Deana-Roga?

I go back to the bathroom, take my towel off, get back to nudie. When I shit you not, I hear "Hey Jude" again, but this time playing from a different direction. At this point, I'm freaked out, but I'm dumb. I'm 16, so I go to investigate in my towel and I hear it coming from a bedroom of an eight-year-old relative. So I go in. It was a continuation of where it had left off from the Alexa in the kitchen.

• 42:32Corinne Vien?

Is there a ghost trying to serenade you?

• 42:33Sabrina Deana-Roga?

Well, dude is close to nude. Hey nude. And this is not an Alexa. This is one of those old-fashioned alarm clock radios that you have to click a button to turn it on or have an alarm set, which is even crazier. It's not like connected through the internet. It was about 11:00 PM at this point and somehow I didn't think this eight-year-old had an alarm set for 11:00 PM. I think, good, good call. I unplugged the radio, scrambled back into the bedroom slash bathroom, where again, I felt like I was being watched. Turn on the shower. I dropped my towel and I hear "Hey Jude" come back on.

• 43:05Corinne Vien?

  What the hell?

• 43:06Sabrina Deana-Roga?

At this point, I throw some music on on my phone to play over it. I shut the door closed and showered as quick as I could. The second I was dressed for bed, I no longer felt like I was being watched. I did go straight into the bed in the bedroom afterwards, but I think that's mostly because it never felt bad, just creepy, because it was only active when I was undressed.

• 43:25Corinne Vien?

Yeah. Someone's peeping and I want you to know that they're looking.

• 43:29Sabrina Deana-Roga?

Yes, I told my relative about this later. Her response was, "Oh, that's just Fred." Apparently, the last owners were an older couple who retired and built the house and the older lady died in a nursing home, but the older man, Fred, died not long after in the house in that bedroom that I was staying in. Later, when I went to go cat sit, I told Fred to stop being creepy and I would-

• 43:51Corinne Vien?

Oh, Fred was thinking he was just like playing a prank, having a lot of fun. And then he's like, oh, man, this guy thinks I'm creepy.

• 43:57Sabrina Deana-Roga?

And the second I said that, I stopped feeling him lingering and watching as I showered. Oh, and my relative had had similar experiences. She never went into detail, but said he was most active when she was changing.

• 44:09Corinne Vien?

Okay, Fred, not okay. I would peep. Peep silently. You're a ghost. You don't have to let anyone know. He's just excited to see nudity. You can be a secret peepin' tom. If you want to be a little pervert. Do it silently, little ghost.

• 44:25Sabrina Deana-Roga?

Thank you, guys, for being so thoughtful and awesome. You both really helped me through the pandemic as the two of you really remind me of my relationship with my best friend, as we bonded in college over ghost stories as well.

• 44:35Corinne Vien?

  I love that.

• 44:35Sabrina Deana-Roga?

And the pandemic forced her to move multiple hours from me, and we had been living together at the time. I also make her listen to y'all, and I made a coworker listen to you, too. But now she's haunted, so she's taking a break.

• 44:46Corinne Vien?

Seven gold stars for you, Percy.

• 44:48Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  Best Percy.

• 44:49Corinne Vien?

Dang. I mean, Percy clearly has a very strong understanding of the paranormal or like can can just like feel and sense it. And also is very brave. I feel like there was a little fear involved in many of these encounters.

• 45:04Sabrina Deana-Roga?

Percy did acknowledge that he was 16 in the nude Fred Hey Jude experience.

• 45:10Corinne Vien?

  Yeah.

• 45:11Sabrina Deana-Roga?

So you have, you know, underage bravery.

• 45:13Corinne Vien?

  Yeah.

• 45:13Sabrina Deana-Roga?

Naivete, if you will like to call it that.

• 45:16Corinne Vien?

  Some confusion.

• 45:17Sabrina Deana-Roga?

But when it comes to the post office one, that's so fascinating. Clearly Percy could close his eyes and connect with

• 45:25Corinne Vien?

  Right.

• 45:26Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  energy.

• 45:26Corinne Vien?

Yeah, because like part of me was like, oh, was the energy of those people just so strong? But it's like, no, I think it's just Percy is

• 45:33Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  It's just Percy.

• 45:34Corinne Vien?

It's not like he was going to a haunted place and trying to pick up on the vibes. Like, he's just going about life. And it's suddenly like, oh.

• 45:41Sabrina Deana-Roga?

Let me test out my skills.

• 45:43Corinne Vien?

  Yeah, something's happening.

• 45:44Sabrina Deana-Roga?

Percy, I wonder if you can join our Campfire Stories and see if you feel anything around us

• 45:50Corinne Vien?

  Yeah.

• 45:51Sabrina Deana-Roga?

or other people when they're telling their stories. That's a good way to practice.

• 45:53Corinne Vien?

  Preferably well dressed.

• 45:54Sabrina Deana-Roga?

Well, Percy's not watching people while nude.

• 45:57Corinne Vien?

No, no, I mean, when he joins Campfire Stories.

• 45:59Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  Oh.

• 46:00Corinne Vien?

We want you to be comfortable, but.

• 46:02Sabrina Deana-Roga?

True. Yeah, we do, we do recommend that you join Campfire Stories with all your clothes on. That should be a new rule that we say, because we've never said that.

• 46:09Corinne Vien?

No. Well, so far, everyone's shown up.

• 46:11Sabrina Deana-Roga?

But now I'm nervous to say it, because what if someone decides to flash us one day? Because we put the idea in their head.

• 46:17Corinne Vien?

Well, then they get banned, and the rest of us get scarred, and we have to do a cleansing ritual.

• 46:22Sabrina Deana-Roga?

Did I ever tell you I was flashed?

• 46:23Corinne Vien?

  Where?

• 46:24Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  By a massive, massive schlong.

• 46:28Corinne Vien?

  Where?

• 46:29Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  In L.A.

• 46:29Corinne Vien?

  Oh.

• 46:30Sabrina Deana-Roga?

People who experience that, it's like a traumatic experience.

• 46:33Corinne Vien?

  Yeah.

• 46:33Sabrina Deana-Roga?

But I have a hard time viewing it as traumatic, because it was so large, that it's almost like, whoa.

• 46:40Corinne Vien?

  Yeah, what happened?

• 46:41Sabrina Deana-Roga?

No, no, like, I've never seen anything so big.

• 46:43Corinne Vien?

Yeah, what happened to them? Why? What happened to them?

• 46:46Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  DNA.

• 46:47Corinne Vien?

  They stretch it out?

• 46:48Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  Genetics?

• 46:49Corinne Vien?

This is reminding me of that news story where there was a man on a run and a woman on a run, and they crossed each other's paths, and the guy flashed her as he was running past her, and she turned around and tackled him. And he got arrested.

• 47:01Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  What?

• 47:02Corinne Vien?

She was like, fuck now, and she ripped him to the ground.

• 47:05Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  That's also so scary.

• 47:06Corinne Vien?

Keep your wieners in your pants.

• 47:08Sabrina Deana-Roga?

Speaking of Campfire Stories, we would like to invite you. We cordially invite you and your presence to join us on Campfire Stories. We host it every Tuesday. It's a live experience where you get to join us on Patreon. We send a Zoom link every week, and you can join us live to hear people tell their ghost stories. You can come tell your ghost story. Some nights, we have theme nights.

• 47:31Corinne Vien?

It's super fun, and then oftentimes, after we log off, there's an after-party that continues on Discord where everyone chats and continues their storytelling.

• 47:40Sabrina Deana-Roga?

We've heard some really, really good, both scary, heartwarming. There's actually one story that I have saved in A Future Encounters,

• 47:49Corinne Vien?

  Ooh.

• 47:50Sabrina Deana-Roga?

where I think our listener Camilla shared a whole thing about her cat and seeing her cat's, like, actual being. Do you remember the story? Were you there for that one?

• 47:59Corinne Vien?

  I don't think I was.

• 48:01Sabrina Deana-Roga?

Oh, my God, it's so crazy. Like, she believes her cat is a familiar, and that the cat, like, she's seen a human-sized figure that is very reminiscent of her cat.

• 48:13Corinne Vien?

  Whoa, like, similar energy?

• 48:15Sabrina Deana-Roga?

And her cat is nowhere to be seen when this figure is around.

• 48:18Corinne Vien?

  Holy shit!

• 48:19Sabrina Deana-Roga?

And then immediately after this, like, figure disappears, her cat will, like, wander around a corner.

• 48:24Corinne Vien?

That is incredible. Okay, wait, I can't wait.

• 48:26Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  I know.

• 48:26Corinne Vien?

  I can't wait.

• 48:27Sabrina Deana-Roga?

So we'll share that on an upcoming story, but...

• 48:29Corinne Vien?

And also, more than that, I feel like too with Campfire Stories, people get to know each other and just Patreon in general.

• 48:34Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  Yeah.

• 48:34Corinne Vien?

I feel like a lot of people are getting to know each other. We get to know each other. And so we hear so many stories pop up between people. Like, it'll be like someone was picking up on vibes of someone else in the chat, and suddenly they're communicating and like, people are unintentionally getting readings from others who are very like intuitive and open. And people are like solving mysteries with hauntings in their own homes.

• 48:56Sabrina Deana-Roga?

Yeah. Do you ever get FOMO when like, when you, when people in the chat are like, "Oh, my gosh, yeah, Kristin, you told me this last week." And I'm like, "Excuse me, you're talking without us."

• 49:05Corinne Vien?

Yeah. When people have like little craft nights, I'm like, "Where was our invite?"

• 49:08Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  Yeah.

• 49:09Corinne Vien?

"Am I, do I have time to show up?"

• 49:10Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  No.

• 49:11Corinne Vien?

"But I want to be invited."

• 49:14Sabrina Deana-Roga?

"I want the opportunity to say, 'Oh dang it, sorry, I can't make it, but, but keep inviting me, because maybe one day I will show up.'"

• 49:21Corinne Vien?

Yeah, no, it's very clear that there's a lot that goes on about us.

• 49:25Sabrina Deana-Roga?

We're just grateful for the community and would love to have everyone join us. It's $5 a month.

• 49:31Corinne Vien?

  Yeah.

• 49:31Sabrina Deana-Roga?

And you get every, every bonuses. Yes, you get bonus episodes every month, you get episodes one week early and ad-free, you get access to Campfire Stories, book club, and you get to help create stories for like, future episodes, help us suggest topics and stuff. It's good fun over there. And either way, keep joining us here and join the pyramid scheme, which means like Percy, you tell two people, and then they tell two people, and you keep going. And email us your ghost stories.
