About this episode
After gunshots interrupted the White House Correspondents’ Dinner on Saturday, attendees including CNBC’s Joe Kernen and Eamon Javers recount the evening’s turn. Attorney for the Southern District of New York Jay Clayton was also in the room, close enough to the President to be swept off with the Secret Service. Clayton considers the public’s and media’s role in amplifying hate, and then he discusses the legal proceedings of the week, starting with the feud between Sam Altman and Elon Musk over OpenAI’s founding mission as a nonprofit. Plus, CNBC’s Dan Murphy is in Dubai with the latest on Iran, and the Senate Banking Committee is scheduled to vote on Kevin Warsh’s Fed Chair nomination this week.
