Position of Neutrality: Walking the Path of Spiritual Progress in Step 12 AA Encountering Angels Faith vs Fear in Spiritual Progress

Join Joe McDonald as he clarifies a common misconception about spiritual progress in Step 12 of Alcoholics Anonymous. Joe explains that the Big Book isn’t talking about theology, but about a conscious, sensory relationship with the power that animates us. This is about feeling and sharing that power, not just talking about it. He emphasizes that both you and the new man must walk day by day in the path of spiritual progress—not just by having a “new guy,” but by experiencing spiritual growth yourself. In Alcoholics Anonymous, Step 12 is about carrying the message and walking a path of spiritual progress. Joe reminds us that this journey is about more than helping others—it’s about feeling and sharing the power of recovery through conscious relationship.
