Position of Neutrality: Unexpected Encounters and the Power of Giving in Step 12 AA Unexpected Kindness The $8 Encounter at the Mall

Join Joe McDonald as he shares a powerful and unexpected encounter while walking through a mall, as told in Step 12 of Alcoholics Anonymous. Joe recalls a woman who came directly to him, asking for exactly $8—the exact amount he had in his wallet at the time. Joe reflects on the moment, emphasizing that sometimes we’re entertaining angels without even realizing it. He reminds us that these moments of giving, even when they seem random or strange, are opportunities to act in alignment with the Spirit’s guidance. In Alcoholics Anonymous, Step 12 teaches us to carry the message and practice these principles in all our affairs. Joe encourages us to stay open to these unexpected moments of connection, knowing that they can have a profound impact on both the giver and the receiver.
