Position of Neutrality: Understanding the Spirit of Recovery in Step 12 AA How Alcohol Takes Control A Personal Journey
- <1m
About this episode
Join Joe McDonald as he shares insights into the spiritual journey of recovery in Step 12 of Alcoholics Anonymous. Joe explains that, much like addiction takes over when we feed it, recovery begins to take control when we put the spirit of recovery inside us. This spirit once sought to devour us, but now it guides us toward healing. He emphasizes that newcomers to recovery are relieved to find that AA is not about judgment but about support and understanding—people seeking to help, not condemn. In Alcoholics Anonymous, Step 12 encourages us to carry the message to others, helping them understand the spiritual nature of recovery. Joe reminds us that recovery is about sharing this spirit of healing with others and walking together in sobriety.
