Position of Neutrality: Understanding the Power of Prayer in Steps 10 & 11 AA Unlocking the Power of Prayer and Reflection in Life
- <1m
About this episode
Join Joe McDonald as he explores the importance of prayer and the proper attitude to have when approaching it, as outlined in Steps 10 and 11 of Alcoholics Anonymous. Joe emphasizes that prayer works if we have the right attitude and are willing to work at it. He asks what the proper attitude is, explaining that the book provides the answer—prayer isn’t about just avoiding behavior, but about addressing the thinking that leads to it. Joe also reflects on how the grace we experience throughout the day gives us a chance to clean up our thoughts and actions, helping us find peace and rest. In Alcoholics Anonymous, Step 10 encourages us to continue taking inventory of our actions, while Step 11 focuses on deepening our relationship with our Higher Power through prayer and meditation. Joe reminds us that prayer is not just about asking for power, but about changing our mindset so that we can live in alignment with spiritual principles.
