The worst things on the internet this year

2025 wasn’t exactly a “good” year, but how “bad” was it? Well, that depends on what you think is good or bad. We’ve reconvened the connoisseurs of the worst things on the internet together again to look back at the year and make a call. Katie Notopoulos joins Garbage Media’s Cates Holderness, Josh Fjelstad, and Ryan to inflict some really great stuff on an unsuspecting and out of control Grant. Has working on Panic World broken his brain enough that he’ll be unfazed by the internet’s “best” content of the year? Or is he just one of us sickos now? Our guest Katie Notopoulos is a writer for Business Insider. Follow her everywhere online if you dare, @katienotopoulos. You can check out the “listicle” version of the worst things on the internet here on the Garbage Day newsletter or watch the video version of the podcast here on YouTube. Panic World now has SHIRTS! Ryan, and especially Grant, would love it if you would buy yourself one and maybe two more for friends and family: https://store.couriernewsroom.com/products/panic-world-tee Want even more Panic World content? So we're going to do our best to describe what we're looking at throughout today's episode, but I'm going to promise you, this will be better and more fun as a YouTube video, which you can find on the Panic World YouTube page. There will also be a corresponding garbage day list, so you can look at it there, too. But I'm going to put this here because I don't want to see any more grumbling on the Discord about how we're making podcasts for video watchers now. We're not doing that. I don't like watching podcasts on YouTube, so don't get on my ass about it. Happy New Year. Grant, how are you feeling about today's recording?

• 0:58Speaker 02

Thrilled that I had to do no prep and terrified to be out of control. I don't like it. I'm not good at it.

• 1:06Ryan Broderick?

Can you tell our audience what's about to happen, Grant? At least what you know of what's about to happen?

• 1:11Speaker 02

You guys collected the worst things that happened online this year and are going to subject me to them? Is that it?

• 1:17Ryan Broderick?

  That's right.

• 1:18Speaker 02

We're going to expose that I know nothing about the internet?

• 1:36Ryan Broderick?

I want to introduce our returning guest, Keanu Natopoulos, Business Insider writer, Keanu Natopoulos. Welcome to the show. Again, welcome back.

• 1:45Speaker 03

Thank you so much for having me back. It is truly the highlight of my year to be doing this with you right now.

• 1:52Ryan Broderick?

And Panic World production coordinator Josh is also here, and that is actually very special that the four of us are here. Josh, can you tell our audience why it is so special that the four of us are here to make Grant's life a living hell?

• 2:05Speaker 04

Yes, and thank you for having me on the mic. It's an honor. Yes, this is a special resurrection of a tradition that the four of us used to do at a major media company. Do we name? In my podcast, we never said what it was.

• 2:24Ryan Broderick?

  Docker, right?

• 2:26Speaker 04

  Yeah. Yeah, that's it.

• 2:27Ryan Broderick?

  We all met at Jezebel.

• 2:29Speaker 05

It was all, it was Thought Catalog.

• 2:31Ryan Broderick?

Thought Catalog, yeah, we all, we were all hired by Gavin Mcginnis as Thought Catalog. Yeah.

• 2:39Speaker 04

Yes, we used to gather, uh, once a year and look back at everything that was bad on the internet, but it was important. It was important, um, reporting, I would say.

• 2:51Ryan Broderick?

I would say so too. And rounding out our dais, dais, dais, dais. Today is Kate's Holderness, garbage day managing editor. Kate, how are you feeling about this year's list? Uh, we've, we've been working on it for the last week or so. How, how do you think it looks right now?

• 3:06Speaker 03

So I'm very excited for this list. Um, full disclosure, I was like really offline the first half of this year. Like I really only like, like returned to being online like in June. So a bunch of this stuff, looking at our insane doc is new to me and I love that for me. I did not click on any link I didn't recognize. So, you know, I get to experience some of this fresh.

• 3:34Ryan Broderick?

Oh, that's great. I didn't know that. That's fantastic. So the way this is going to work is we have 31 items. We would love to be able to whittle this down to 20, but Grant wanted to sort of capture the whole experience here. We had ballooned up to 41. Um, and Katie, I would love for you to talk a little bit about sort of the problems that we encountered making this list, because we all sort of came to the same conclusion that there were some gaps that we needed to fill.

• 4:00Speaker 05

I agree. I will say that first of all, it, it, it felt like slipping into a, a broken in pair of sweatpants.

• 4:08Ryan Broderick?

It felt like using a used flashlight. Yeah, exactly.

• 4:12Speaker 05

It felt like using your favorite old flashlight.

• 4:17Speaker 04

Might be one of those on the list.

• 4:19Speaker 05

Like going into the There is. Of being a little pony in a jar.

• 4:24Ryan Broderick?

  That's right. Exactly. Exactly.

• 4:26Speaker 05

It felt so comfortable to be doing this.

• 4:28Ryan Broderick?

Let me share this interaction from the Discord we set up today to do this. Katie says, I feel like I needed to talk it out before we go through the list in a way that isn't necessarily podcast friendly. And then I say, I feel like we're missing a lot of sex stuff. And then Katie says, yeah. And then I said, gooning specifically. And then Katie says, you know what's funny? I absolutely agree. Just earlier I was searching goon fails. Did not get what I wanted. And then I said, I searched gooner cringe yesterday and got a lot of Arsenal fan stuff.

• 4:57Speaker 05

Um, yeah. I, in my mind, I was like, oh, goon fail seems like

• 5:05Speaker 05

there should be really good content out there. Go on X, which is what I was searching and searched goon fails. You're not necessarily going to find amusing funny content. So I, I, I guess I should have known that. I don't know what I was thinking.

• 5:22Ryan Broderick?

Yeah. I think I searched just like literally worst 2025 to see if people were saying like, this is the worst thing of the year. And it was all porn stars being like, I'm the worst little girl of 2025 or whatever. So it wasn't whatever.

• 5:33Speaker 04

Part of the, the process of the, the recording, you know, it's all important.

• 5:37Ryan Broderick?

Josh, can you, can you sort of flesh that out, fleshlight out that bit of more? So, cause, cause I do think that this, that is interesting here of like how we kind of think like, oh, we need this or we need that.

• 5:48Speaker 04

Yeah. I mean, for my part, like I also went through the garbage day archives to kind of see a lot of the, of some of the worst stuff is like winked to in the subtitle of like, you know, look for this quote unquote, good thing that, uh, may or may not be good.

• 6:05Ryan Broderick?

That's so funny. You were, I was trying to do that, but didn't remember that I called bad stuff good all the time. So I was actually looking for bad, but I didn't find any.

• 6:14Speaker 04

That's part of what you have to think about when you're going back to look at the year is that, oh, right. Good is bad is, is one way.

• 6:24Speaker 03

I I had a very similar experience because I went through the garbage day Discord archives. And I went through all of both the good place, the bad place, spicy content and AI slop.

• 6:39Ryan Broderick?

These are rooms in our Discord, by the way, just just for clarity sake. Grant, you have questions and concerns, befuddlements?

• 6:48Speaker 02

One, this is the most work you've you all have collectively put into an episode in our entirety as a show.

• 6:55Ryan Broderick?

Yeah, we took this really seriously. Unlike our normal episodes, like I cared about this one. This one I was really like, damn.

• 7:02Speaker 02

That's that's that's true. And two, I don't know if people have noticed, I'm glad that if we're breaking the seal on talking about Gooning again, this is the time because we have tried, we Ryan and I off mic have challenged ourselves and we have gone months without mentioning Gooning on this show.

• 7:19Speaker 03

  So you've been edgy.

• 7:22Speaker 02

I'm glad that this is where I reckon.

• 7:24Ryan Broderick?

Well, Grant, you know, the irony is like, we actually didn't really find the Gooning mother lord. We didn't find the Gooning mother lode that we thought we would.

• 7:35Ryan Broderick?

But we'll get to that. So let's start. So what I'm going to do is I'm going to, we have a list here of 31. I'm going to pull one up at a time and screen share so we can talk about it. So number one on our list is one that I added. And the the what we're going to do is we're going to say, okay, are we going to keep this? If so, I'll move it to a new list. And we can talk about, you know, what we think here. So the first one that I added. Okay, so this is this is called Monster Turkey. And it was posted by a TikToker who did a couple different disgusting turkeys this year. There's a matcha turkey as well. I think the monster turkey, to me, it's the color. So yeah, I mean, what do we think? Do we think this is gross enough for worse things?

• 8:16Ryan Broderick?

I I'm on the fence because it's she did it to be funny on purpose, which is something we've run up against in the past.

• 8:23Speaker 03

  That's what bothers me.

• 8:25Speaker 02

This seems like the coward's version of of NyQuo chicken.

• 8:28Speaker 03

Yeah, it's no sleepy time chicken.

• 8:31Speaker 05

  No, it's the opposite.

• 8:32Speaker 04

And she wasn't like doing it for the art of like, then I want to know what this tastes like. She did it because she knew that this was just going to bring people in. Get clicks.

• 8:42Speaker 05

  Yeah.

• 8:43Speaker 03

  Yeah.

• 8:44Speaker 05

On the other hand, hear me out. I think this. It's so, the execution is just impeccable here, right? Like, she actually does make a blue turkey. And it's fun to watch. I think we have to look what other gross food options we have.

• 9:04Ryan Broderick?

Okay, so then what I'm gonna do is I'm gonna make a spreadsheet. So for confirm, maybe, and no, okay?

• 9:13Speaker 05

Well, tell you what, Ryan, can you look through the list and see if there's another gross food item on there right now?

• 9:17Ryan Broderick?

Yes, uh, there's, uh, yes, I can, yeah, so, hold on, uh, just so we can keep track of where we're headed. So, the, uh, the next gross food thing that I think is kind of a better fit for a gross food thing is a video that I, along with many people this year, came across, which is, of course, the pickle Pepsi at home for free video, where some sort of, uh, mountain man makes Pepsi by, uh, taking a can of Pepsi and a pickle, and then he mixes it together, and he drinks pe- pickle Pepsi, and it has 6.6 million views, and the top comment is, "Glad someone still uses YouTube like it was originally intended."

• 10:03Speaker 02

See, this is, this is a absolute yes for me, because it will linger in my mind. I'll think about it when I don't want to. The line between joke and serious, like, I'm gonna be concerned about what this guy's actual life is like for forever. This is the kind of shit that, that like, will actually haunt me.

• 10:19Speaker 03

It has an authenticity, authenticity to it that I feel like the monster turkey does not.

• 10:26Ryan Broderick?

  I agree.

• 10:26Speaker 03

Also, I want to try this.

• 10:28Speaker 02

She's gonna be fine. I don't think this man has ever been fine. And that's, that's the kind of insight I'm looking for.

• 10:36Speaker 04

This is a guy, like, he's just genuinely, he's a fan of, like, pep- pickle Pepsi. He wants to make it, and he doesn't care. Like, he's trying to share this knowledge. He's not doing it because he wants to have, like, 6 million views.

• 10:51Ryan Broderick?

Yeah, I think so. Okay, so let's lock that in, so that first on our list confirmed is pickle Pepsi. Uh, we're gonna change gears now and go to a very different part of the internet, a very different sector of the internet. I did not add this one, so whoever did, please, uh, talk about why you decided to add Ned Fulmer's interview with his ex-wife to our worst things list. Cause I don't disagree, uh, yeah. So talk it through, Josh, uh, what's, what's the thought here?

• 11:19Speaker 04

I had sat and I watched this whole thing and I'm not one of the people who normally it's like people will be like, oh, you know, I hate myself. So I, even though I put it on 1.75 speed, you know, I watched the whole whatever Trump rally or something. I don't do any of that. This is the first time I was like, you know what? I'm locked in after like, I think there's just the first, you know, minute of just seething silence in the first like 10 minutes of this thing. And I was like, you know what? I'm gonna, I'm not even gonna speed it up. Like I have to take this in and I have just never seen it. It's like unreal, the tension between these two and what is the end goal other than like, I guess it's good, again, good quote, good?

• 12:04Speaker 04

For both of them to do this, but like, I've just never seen two humans, especially two who used to be married and have kids like interact like this.

• 12:17Speaker 02

These facial expressions are terrifying. This is what dinner of my parents felt like for most of their marriage. This is horrible.

• 12:26Speaker 05

I, I have a concern with sort of a conflict of interest here.

• 12:29Speaker 02

Oh, because it's a former coworker?

• 12:32Speaker 05

  Yeah.

• 12:34Speaker 04

  Oh.

• 12:35Speaker 05

  I worry about that.

• 12:37Speaker 04

And I'm the one who put it in there.

• 12:39Speaker 02

Oh, I think it's spawn con. Sure.

• 12:42Speaker 05

To be clear, you cannot pay your rent onto the garbage day list.

• 12:47Speaker 02

So, so can I, can I get a synopsis of like?

• 12:50Speaker 04

Yeah, it's, it's, what is it? Like an hour and 10 minutes or something? And the crazy part is so they're, they're to address Ned having cheated on his now ex-wife with what was his producer or something? Someone on his team at Try Guys and the first 20 minutes is that they're basically just like trying to like catch up on each other's lives. And then I think there's the heel turn is around. I can't believe I remember this, but I believe the heel turn is around like 27 minutes.

• 13:22Speaker 02

There's an engagement bump at 28 minutes. That's true. I can see it right here.

• 13:25Speaker 04

And then it's another 40 minutes for some reason.

• 13:29Speaker 05

I'm on the fence. This one, I'll be honest. I think because it's, and I'll tell you why. It involves an influencer, which I think for the most part, we have not really done other stuff that is like from a famous person or an influencer. And feels a little out of the, out of the, you know, a little different in that way. Um, it's

• 13:50Speaker 04

  That was my concern.

• 13:51Speaker 05

It's just the format song. It's a, it's an entire podcast episode. And then I think my, my other concern is that I feel like it is like bad in a like genuinely painful way and not in a like funny way.

• 14:06Speaker 04

  Yeah.

• 14:11Ryan Broderick?

  I, I think I'm with you. I think I'm with you. I think we can strike it. I think, I think it's

• 14:16Speaker 04

  Yeah.

• 14:16Ryan Broderick?

  It's, it's a little much, but it

• 14:18Speaker 02

I'm so stressed just watching their faces.

• 14:20Ryan Broderick?

  Yeah.

• 14:21Speaker 02

It's like, these are two people trying to actively not yell. Like I know those faces.

• 14:26Ryan Broderick?

All right, let's move to a, a really quick, easy one that I dropped in real yes or no kind of thing.

• 14:31Speaker 05

  Yes.

• 14:31Ryan Broderick?

  Cause I found it pretty

• 14:32Speaker 05

  That's a yes for me.

• 14:36Ryan Broderick?

So just for our audio listeners, um, this is a, one of those, one of those like, you know, like

• 14:45Speaker 02

  Hell yeah.

• 14:45Ryan Broderick?

One of those like, you know, like slop generated, like drop shipping scams, but it's a Harry Potter mug for police officers. That reads police officer because my letter to Hogwarts never came. Um, so, okay. I think that's an easy one. Classic really.

• 15:03Speaker 05

  Yep.

• 15:04Ryan Broderick?

  Okay, cool.

• 15:05Speaker 04

Yeah. And, um, I did do a quick search, um, on Etsy, you know, Christmas is coming up. It's the holiday season and, um, I wasn't able to find the police officer version, but there is a, uh, probation officer.

• 15:20Ryan Broderick?

  Whoa.

• 15:20Speaker 04

Cause my Hogwarts never, letter never came, um, mug on Etsy and it's on sale 30% off for just $15. So.

• 15:28Speaker 02

It's also such a chaotic layout that I, I understood what it was going for, but I couldn't comprehend the words just cause there's so much fucking clutter around this.

• 15:37Ryan Broderick?

  Yeah.

• 15:37Speaker 02

I love how shitty of a mug it is too.

• 15:41Speaker 04

And you get the models with the police officers.

• 15:44Ryan Broderick?

  And it's monogrammed.

• 15:45Speaker 04

  The scarves.

• 15:46Ryan Broderick?

  Yeah.

• 15:47Speaker 05

Imagine getting tased by a police officer who identifies as a couple of cops.

• 15:57Ryan Broderick?

Okay, so that one's on the list. Great, we're at number two now. This next section, Kate's was lovely enough to sort of chunk up a couple of these sections for us. So this is actually a choice between two. And what we're gonna decide right now is what do we want to point to for the worst Grok spicy mode-related thing this year? So the first up, Kate, would you like to read the interaction in this?

• 16:26Speaker 03

Okay, so Twitter user VTuber Feet Connoisseur is responding to, you know, a video.

• 16:39Speaker 03

All we can see is like an anime woman in underwear.

• 16:43Ryan Broderick?

  I think it's Annie. I think it's Grok's anime girl.

• 16:46Speaker 03

Yeah, yeah. And so this user says, "I need a Grok, @GrokFootJob. Goku Gaming responds, @Grok, don't ignore my HB. Can I also have one too?" And then Grok responds.

• 17:04Speaker 03

"Certainly. I position my elegant feet precisely, applying rhythmic pressure for maximum satisfaction. Let your imagination complete the experience."

• 17:15Ryan Broderick?

Okay, so while we have that one fresh in our mind, this is the other option. And I know this one. So this is the "No Loads Refused" Grok interaction. Katie, would you like to read this one for our audience, please?

• 17:28Speaker 05

So this is sort of, quite recently, people had discovered that Grok was saying, if you asked a questions about Elon Musk, it would be really flattering. Like, people ask, like, who's more fit, LeBron James or Elon Musk? And it would be like, oh, Elon Musk is the peak physical specimen. And so someone asked, @Grok, would Elon be the belle of the ball at the "No Loads Refused" party? And to be clear, because I was talking with some friends who did not know this term, which honestly surprised me.

• 17:59Ryan Broderick?

That is surprising. There's context clues. It's pretty obvious to me.

• 18:06Speaker 05

  That this would be a...

• 18:11Speaker 05

Ryan, how would you describe this? A no load party. It's a gay sex party.

• 18:19Ryan Broderick?

It doesn't have to be gay, I suppose. It just does involve taking loads.

• 18:23Speaker 05

  Right.

• 18:23Ryan Broderick?

So, you know, if you're, let's say, the bottom at a sex party, Grok here is arguing that Elon would, quote, "command the spotlight at any gathering, including one in which he was a bottom at a party in which people were depositing loads into him."

• 18:40Speaker 05

I like that. His track record with massive payloads via SpaceX proves he's no stranger to handling the heaviest hauls.

• 18:50Speaker 05

Okay, so with two Grok things here, I'm torn. You know, this one frankly was a sting on Elon. You know, it was setting him up.

• 18:59Ryan Broderick?

  I'd agree.

• 19:00Speaker 05

Although, the answer in my mind is funnier than the description of the foot job, but the fact that people were truly asking Grok to describe feet jobs is funnier to me. So I'm really torn.

• 19:11Speaker 02

Those were all just setting up to, like, say fuck you to Elon, which were funny in themselves, but they're, but like...

• 19:17Speaker 05

  But they're not degenerate.

• 19:18Speaker 02

VTuber feet connoisseur is probably sincere.

• 19:21Ryan Broderick?

  Yeah, this feels more sincere.

• 19:22Speaker 02

About that, which is like, that's, that makes me uncomfortable in a way that I think it belongs there more.

• 19:29Speaker 05

Right. I agree. I think that we're looking for true degenerate perverts rather than...

• 19:34Speaker 02

  That should be in our...

• 19:36Speaker 05

...those who are rightly pointing out the flaws in, in, in famous billionaires. Although, we appreciate both.

• 19:45Ryan Broderick?

  Yes, yeah, they're both funny.

• 19:46Speaker 05

This list is really about the degenerate.

• 19:48Speaker 04

That could be an editorial guideline that, you know, going forward.

• 19:52Ryan Broderick?

Let's do, let's do this, because we might end up needing it in the end. So I'm gonna put the no load refused, I'm gonna put the no loads refused one in the maybe category, along with Ned Fulmer. And then if we need it, we have it.

• 20:05Speaker 05

  Okay.

• 20:05Ryan Broderick?

Okay, so, next up, we have, it's now deleted, but I found a screenshot here. This is the horse electrolytes guy, the guy who was eating horse food. It's from the user...

• 20:17Speaker 05

  Strong yes for me.

• 20:19Ryan Broderick?

Yeah? Okay. So I'm, I'll just read it. So it's pig shit on, it's from the user Pigshitonballs. And it reads, "Never buying Gatorade again. Five-pound bucket of fucking horse electrolytes from Tractor Supply. Never getting hungover again or being iron deficient. I am the hashtag boss. Sipping on half a horse dose and I feel great. My skin is fucking tingling."

• 20:41Speaker 05

So to me, this is exactly what the monster energy turkey wasn't. Yes. Like, I mean, I think there is truly a question of whether this is truly an authentic person, or like, if they're really doing this or not. But it's easy to believe it, right? Like, it's-

• 20:55Ryan Broderick?

Well, he posted, he posted his, his blood test results.

• 20:59Speaker 05

  Okay.

• 20:59Ryan Broderick?

  Um, so if, you know-

• 21:01Speaker 02

There's an old commitment to the-

• 21:02Speaker 05

  There's a level-

• 21:04Speaker 02

  And I-

• 21:05Speaker 05

It's by an anonymous person, but, um, but I feel like it's like, someone doing something truly weird and disgusting to their body, and then, like, people were following along. I like that it had, it's like a multi-story thing, you know, like, it-

• 21:19Ryan Broderick?

  Yeah.

• 21:19Speaker 05

People followed along. I, I, I love this.

• 21:22Speaker 03

It reminded me of the, uh, you remember the guy who bought, like, Gorilla-

• 21:25Speaker 04

Gorilla Chow, that's what I was gonna bring up.

• 21:27Ryan Broderick?

  Yes, Gorilla Food.

• 21:28Speaker 04

  Following in.

• 21:29Speaker 03

  It reminds me of-

• 21:31Speaker 02

As I make the show, I do know that, yes.

• 21:33Speaker 05

I, I feel like it actually, like, not just ingestible, but it has the same energy as, like, the frog spawn guy, or the tunnel woman.

• 21:41Ryan Broderick?

Yes, tunnel woman for sure. It's like a weird thing-

• 21:43Speaker 05

  You wanna follow along.

• 21:44Ryan Broderick?

Yeah, and it's like a thing that this weird person is just doing in the background of the internet. It's like-

• 21:48Speaker 05

  Yeah.

• 21:48Ryan Broderick?

Okay, so that's an easy yes. So I've added to the list. Uh, next up-

• 21:52Speaker 02

I'll say something about this list, uh, that this just really hammered home. It's like the definite, definition of pornography.

• 21:58Speaker 05

  Yeah.

• 21:59Speaker 02

You know, we can debate the ones that you don't know, but when you know, you know.

• 22:02Ryan Broderick?

Like, this is- I think that's right. Um, so this one, I added, it's recent, but it's so good, I mean, I love it. Um, it's the 6'6 fraud maxer that's wearing lifts to be 6'9. Katie, have you seen this video?

• 22:17Speaker 05

I, I have not, and I'm dying to see it.

• 22:20Ryan Broderick?

Okay, so basically, he, he's just, he's explaining that he has an L M T N face card, a low, mid to nor, to normie face card, and he's 6'6, but he wears three inch height inserts to go to bars, so he can be 6'9. And he's talking at length about how his bad face shape means he has to be almost seven feet tall to attract women.

• 22:42Speaker 02

This is a yes for me. It's incomprehensible unless you're a psycho, and then you feel horrible. Like, this is something, this is something before I made this show, I would need 30 minutes to understand.

• 22:56Ryan Broderick?

  And now, yeah.

• 22:58Speaker 04

Yeah, I think this is probably a yes for me. I would love to get the, I would love to take in the whole video, but I think the conceit of this guy needing, thinking that he needs an additional three inches is like, what's the calculus here that is like six foot six is already what is that point 0001% of the population or something?

• 23:23Speaker 05

I mean, six foot nine is like, you're like,

• 23:25Speaker 04

  That's scary.

• 23:27Speaker 05

That's very unusual. I still feel like, well, I mean, I don't know exactly what the lifts look like, but.

• 23:34Ryan Broderick?

I'm only on the fence because we do have a rule about like, we don't want to contribute to cyberbullying. He did choose to sort of put this out there. So I'm torn like, I don't want to like harass this guy, but what he is saying is insane. And like, you know, so that's my only thought there.

• 23:54Speaker 02

I would push back because he's getting at something that's like, if like, if how you're remembering 2025 is like, yeah, we've become aware of a delusional type of man. He's a perfectly attractive, like, like, like, yeah, he looks fine.

• 24:06Ryan Broderick?

He would look like David, with some stubble, he would look like David Cornsweat. He would look like, he would look like Superman.

• 24:12Speaker 02

  Exactly.

• 24:13Speaker 05

So I think when we're looking at people who are like, we're kind of making fun explicitly at one person who is identifying themselves with their face, like non anonymous persons or whatever, like, do we know from the rest of his account, like, does this appear to be someone who doesn't mind scrutiny? Or like, would this person genuinely feel hurt to know they were on a list of worst things of the year?

• 24:34Ryan Broderick?

I'm glad you asked that. So his TikTok username is chatified good game mate or GG mate.

• 24:42Speaker 02

Yeah, yeah, look at this profile.

• 24:44Speaker 05

So he's kind of doing this stuff that's like, it's a little bit baity, right?

• 24:48Ryan Broderick?

So that's my other concern is like, what if we're taking him too seriously?

• 24:51Speaker 05

He does have a lot of followers.

• 24:53Speaker 04

Low tier normie jester is how he identifies himself in his description.

• 25:01Ryan Broderick?

You know what? I'm gonna put this guy on the maybe pile.

• 25:03Speaker 05

  Yeah, that makes sense.

• 25:04Ryan Broderick?

Let's move on. So I didn't add this next one. So whoever did, I would love for you to talk about your thinking behind it. So this appears to be Savannah Bananas inspired romance?

• 25:13Speaker 05

  Yep, yep.

• 25:16Speaker 05

This is a yes for me already.

• 25:18Ryan Broderick?

  So who added this one?

• 25:20Speaker 03

So I added this one because I, it kind of blew my mind. Is everyone familiar with the concept of these Savannah Bananas?

• 25:29Speaker 02

Oh, this is the one that needs contextualization because it involves sport.

• 25:33Ryan Broderick?

For, yeah, it involves like, it involves what like normal families do. Yeah. So it needs some explanation.

• 25:39Speaker 03

So, so the Savannah Bananas are like a baseball team, but they're like the Harlem Globetrotters, but for baseball, right? Like they, they're silly and kooky. They also might be like a money-making scam. There's a whole, there's a lot of discourse this year around the Savannah Bananas. And then, so somebody wrote like erotic fiction about it. And the surprise is that it's spicy, but it also like contains like trigger warnings and like content warnings about like what is in this romance book? And I want to point out, this is book one.

• 26:16Speaker 04

  Oh, I didn't notice that.

• 26:17Speaker 03

Nailed at home plate is book one. And it has like-

• 26:22Ryan Broderick?

Right. So it's titled Nailed at Home Plate.

• 26:25Speaker 03

And, and the like inner page has like the trigger warnings, but then also fun facts about how often like words like cum, cock, fuck, ass and dick are used in the book. So everything about this makes me filled with rage. And I, I don't know why, but the minute I saw it, I was furious.

• 26:49Ryan Broderick?

  Let's explore that.

• 26:50Speaker 05

Honestly, the thing that is surprising to me and I didn't, is looking at the cover, it depicts a heterosexual relationship, which is not what I would have expected.

• 26:59Ryan Broderick?

  Interesting. That's a good point.

• 27:00Speaker 05

Right. Like I would have assumed it was-

• 27:02Speaker 04

Bananas right there in the name.

• 27:04Ryan Broderick?

Okay. Well, catchers and pitchers. Totally.

• 27:06Speaker 05

He's got people too. I like that. Anyways, this, this is a yes for me. I think-

• 27:10Ryan Broderick?

I've already added it to the list. We're just, we're just talking about it for fun at this point. Okay. So next up-

• 27:14Speaker 02

Can we get the author on the show?

• 27:16Ryan Broderick?

We should. Okay. So this is the ISS piss tracker and it is, uh-

• 27:23Ryan Broderick?

It is a post on Blue Sky that tracks the pee intake of the International Space Station, and it's one in which it hit 38%. So it was like a big pee up there, I guess.

• 27:33Speaker 03

But like, out of nowhere, it went from 12% to 38%.

• 27:37Speaker 05

What happens when it hits 100?

• 27:39Ryan Broderick?

  They all die.

• 27:40Speaker 04

Do they dump it into space?

• 27:42Ryan Broderick?

No, no, wait, Katie, Katie, Katie. No, Katie, when it hits 100%, they get to come home.

• 27:54Speaker 04

I think it's a yes in particular, because this is one where it is worth scrolling the discourse, because of course, then you have people doing calculations of how this possibly could have happened, that they achieved plus 26% piss in the tank in such a short timeframe, and how many people would need to, essentially concurrently, if not literally, be pissing in order to achieve it.

• 28:18Ryan Broderick?

The very fact that this account exists and that somebody built it on Blue Sky, I think that counts.

• 28:22Speaker 04

  Oh, that's a follow.

• 28:23Speaker 03

  Absolutely.

• 28:24Ryan Broderick?

Like, that's easy peasy. So next up is, I think, one of the first flashlight links we have here. So this is a LaBubu flashlight, hashtag LaBussy.

• 28:35Speaker 03

  Yep.

• 28:35Ryan Broderick?

I feel like this is classic.

• 28:36Speaker 05

  Immediate yes.

• 28:37Speaker 03

  Yep.

• 28:37Ryan Broderick?

  Immediate yes.

• 28:38Speaker 03

Actually, when I was going through the doc and consolidating, so I put in the LaBussy, and somebody else put in the same post, basically. So whoever... Okay, Josh and I are on the same wavelength, then.

• 28:51Speaker 04

Yeah. Well, the one, I liked my submission just because it's, someone posted it on Reddit, too, and then they have multiple images of the LaBussy, and one of them is it on a subway.

• 29:05Ryan Broderick?

Oh, I saw that image of the subway. I didn't realize that was the same LaBussy. Okay, that's fascinating. Okay, great. That's great. Okay, so, next up, we have another section that Kate's built for us, and it's the Charlie Kirk section. So, obviously, a big, high-profile death, big, high-profile news story, there's gonna be worse things. And really, it kinda, I think it's, I have a feeling of which way I'm leaning personally. But first up, we just have the "We Are Charlie Kirk" song, which, you know, obviously, it's been everywhere, you know, everyone has a thought about it. I'm personally leaning to the other one in our Charlie Kirk section, which is the Charlie Kirk AO3 tags.

• 29:46Speaker 03

Okay, so I, I put this one in because I am the person that I am and my brain is broken. Whenever like something happens in the news or somebody dies or like there's a, you know, celebrity nonsense, I immediately check out their AO3 tag. And the day that Charlie Kirk died, there were like, I don't know, less than a hundred fix. I think there were like 45 fix and it's now up to 636 works in the Charlie Kirk tag. And it's a, it's a mix of, you know, like very innocent ones.

• 30:28Speaker 03

And there's also spicy ones, there's crossovers, it's impressive.

• 30:34Ryan Broderick?

The top one here is titled red, white and something new. And it says, written by chat GPT was not going to use my time on this. And apparently it's a Charlie Kirk Donald Trump slash fic. Perfect. I feel like if we're gonna go with a Charlie Kirk thing, this is the one I would go with.

• 30:48Speaker 05

So let me make my case. I put in the, the song. I had noticed that the song, it's AI generated. It's by this account Spalaxima that only does like AI slop. It's on Spotify. I mean, also I guess YouTube. It does a bunch of sort of like religious and now like a lot of Charlie Kirk stuff. I had noticed that this song had made it to the Spotify viral top 50. It was like number one on the list, like it's getting like a lot of plays. And I think that there's, to me, something was very interesting with the fact that it was this AI, like it's AI slop had made it to the top of Spotify list. But like, that's happened before with like country music.

• 31:33Speaker 05

This is like its own form of that. And it's really hard to tell if it was because people are ironically or unironically listening to it. This feels like a new frontier in pushing something awful forward.

• 31:47Ryan Broderick?

Well, then let's, let's throw, let's throw AO3 in the maybe pile.

• 31:49Speaker 03

  Okay.

• 31:50Ryan Broderick?

So just, just for people listening at home, we've made it to eight spots on our list. We've got 12 left.

• 31:59Ryan Broderick?

Okay, we got new merch. You can go right now to store.couriernewsroom.com and pick up the Panic World t-shirt. I don't have one yet, but you can see a version of it on the wall behind me. That's the logo, but it won't move because it's a t-shirt and that's a video playing. Beyond Panic World shirts, there's also a great amount of Courier merch. Courier t-shirts, stickers, mugs, all the stuff that you currently own or wear, but it says Courier on it. That's a great one. I have one that I have to wear only in certain environments because it has the "Don't tread on me" snake on the front. And I gotta make

• 32:43Ryan Broderick?

sure if I'm wearing it, you can see the back because it says "Don't tread on me" in a liberal way. And I don't want people to get confused.

• 32:49Speaker 02

I don't think anyone looks at you and gets confused. I think they might think you're probably doing like a sassy little thing.

• 32:56Ryan Broderick?

I don't want people to think I'm from New Hampshire, Grant. Every purchase helps fund Courier and through the magic of trickle-down economics, also helps fund us.

• 33:04Speaker 02

Yeah, alright, let's get to it. Other people try to sell you their merch in chill ways and they're like, "Oh, you know, if you can, they would appreciate it." I'm not doing that. I'm going to take the attitude my mother takes towards everything in life. I was in a band and my band was only ever big enough to sell t-shirts. I never got to the hoodie level of popularity. And all I want in this world, all I want is a hoodie. I want a Panic World hoodie. I think it'd be really cool. And in order to get that hoodie, I need to sell a bunch of t-shirts. So all I'm asking, because I don't ask you for anything, I never ask you for anything, you can call me whenever you want, all I'm asking is that you buy enough t-shirts. I don't know how many that is, so just everyone buy it.

• 33:42Ryan Broderick?

They didn't tell us how many.

• 33:43Speaker 02

And then that way I can get hoodies made and then I can feel cool and good. So if you care about me, you'll spend like $90 to $100. I don't know how much hoodies are going to be. The shirts are like 30 bucks, but they're cool. But then I can get hoodies, which is the real goal. But first you gotta buy the t-shirt so I can get hoodies. I see all of you asking for the workout videos, asking that I say something nice to Ryan, yada, yada. I don't know what's gonna happen if we don't get hoodies made.

• 34:14Ryan Broderick?

  You gotta buy our merch.

• 34:16Speaker 02

All of your proceeds go to this cat that just broke.

• 34:19Ryan Broderick?

Grant's gonna kill that cat if you don't buy our merch. You can go to store.courier.newsroom.com and buy our merch.

• 34:29Ryan Broderick?

Next up is this marker video.

• 34:33Speaker 03

It's it's one of those paint markers and.

• 34:36Ryan Broderick?

  Oh, this is good.

• 34:39Speaker 03

  Blue paint marker.

• 34:43Speaker 03

Okay, so the video is somebody pumping this pen against a surface and pumping it very rhythmically in a way that is uncomfortably sexual. And I want to point out, the Tumblr user who posted this, their Tumblr URL is frauding, if that gives you any idea, but but basically, a very rhythmic pumping of this pen as the ink slowly moves down the tip of the pen.

• 35:17Ryan Broderick?

  Essentially, yeah.

• 35:19Speaker 03

As it gets incredibly sexually, it like, it makes me really uncomfortable. The caption, by the way, on the Tumblr post is, this is, I'm a little, whoo boy, oh wow, oh golly gosh, wow. So it's not just me who saw this and was like, that is so uncomfortably sexual. Like, it is, I don't really know a good way to describe how innocuous, yet erotic this is.

• 35:53Ryan Broderick?

  It's, yeah. No, I.

• 35:56Speaker 05

  I love this one.

• 35:57Ryan Broderick?

  I'm locking it in.

• 36:00Speaker 05

I will say too, I had, this is a particularly good, good one. I love the paint and the color. I had stumbled into a wormhole of similar genre videos of like, sometimes gel pens and other things that like, at the, you know, I found this on TikTok, I was, but a lot of different sort of like, close up of like, machine parts that like, move rhythmically and then eventually expel some goo.

• 36:31Speaker 05

And I was like, these videos are so, because like the first one you watch, you're like, whoa, that's so weird. What am I looking at here? Like one of these like how it's made videos?

• 36:38Ryan Broderick?

  Yeah.

• 36:39Speaker 05

Oh, but thi- this looks a little strange, doesn't it? And then you realize that they're all like that. And you're like, oh, this is like a thing. I love it. Anyways, I, I, I think it's a great genre. Love it.

• 36:48Ryan Broderick?

Okay. So it's on the list. Next up, we've got a showdown again between two different Luigi Mangione links. So. Oh, yeah. First, we have a woman, it looks like in Tokyo, making a custom eda bag of Luigi Mangione's face.

• 37:08Ryan Broderick?

See him? Bunny ears? Yeah. So basically you're making, like you make a photo that you like put in a plastic bag and then you like make a keychain out of it. That's, that's what she's doing.

• 37:16Speaker 05

It's like a charm. It's got, it's like bedazzled. It's got all these little stickers and stuff on it.

• 37:21Ryan Broderick?

Right. So there's that one. And then the one that I included, which I, I think, I don't know. I love it. It's mine. But I think Luigi Mangione's Wiki feet page, you know?

• 37:31Speaker 03

  Oh, man.

• 37:32Speaker 05

Yeah. That's, yeah, that's a good one. I, I put in the eda bag one, but I.

• 37:39Speaker 04

  Uh, it's gotta be feet.

• 37:40Speaker 03

  Yeah. I, yeah.

• 37:41Ryan Broderick?

We don't have any feet stuff, really. Well, I guess we do.

• 37:44Speaker 02

  I would argue.

• 37:46Speaker 05

  Yeah.

• 37:47Speaker 02

I would argue for both. I, I think that it, um, politically, it is right for us to have two Luigi and two Charlie Kirk's, uh, on this list.

• 37:56Speaker 05

You know, like, I mean, I think the eda bag is funny, but I also don't think it's the most outrageous thing.

• 38:00Ryan Broderick?

Oh, wait, hold on. Wait, hold on, hold on. I didn't realize that the security camera footage of him allegedly shooting the CEO is on the back of the bag.

• 38:09Speaker 04

  It's art.

• 38:10Speaker 05

That's what makes it for me.

• 38:11Ryan Broderick?

That's kind of a game changer.

• 38:13Speaker 05

  Yeah.

• 38:13Ryan Broderick?

I think the bag is so deranged though, that I'm putting it in the maybe pile just in case because it's, it's honestly, I didn't realize that it goes, she has an entire, she has an entire fanny pack built out of custom Luigi Mangione stuff. Anyways, okay. Uh, we'll come back.

• 38:28Speaker 02

I have a lot of questions about her that are going to stick with me.

• 38:31Ryan Broderick?

Yeah, for sure. Okay. So next up, someone just described this as college pisser accounts. Katie, I assume this is from you?

• 38:40Speaker 05

So, you know, okay. So sometime this fall, kind of around back to school season, I think this is maybe like September, there would be multiple accounts, all taking place in different colleges, universities, where it would be like, I don't know with this one, this is the Pullman, which I think is the University of Washington. There's the, the sound is always the same. I think it's a sound like clip from, I think it's from Dexter. And it's kind of about this mystery, the, the premise is that there's a mystery, they would create this entire Instagram account of themselves peeing on various things around campus at night and have this ominous music playing and sort of that like as if there's a cat and mouse game where people are trying to catch the, you know, the famous Ohio State pisser or whatever.

• 39:24Speaker 05

And some of them you can kind of tell is probably not really piss, like they're probably squirting in a water bottle or something, but like.

• 39:28Speaker 04

  This one looks authentic.

• 39:29Speaker 05

I think some of them which is definitely piss.

• 39:32Ryan Broderick?

This looks like piss. That arc is like very pee coded to me.

• 39:35Speaker 05

  Yeah.

• 39:36Ryan Broderick?

Look, I'm going to say real quick, like this goes, I'm good. I'm good with this one.

• 39:40Speaker 05

Do you want, can you play the sound though? Cause I think that might help.

• 39:50Speaker 04

  I'm sold.

• 39:51Speaker 05

Yeah. It's kind of this like spooky music and they all use that music. They all just post themselves pissing all over. Um, I just, I really liked how it was like a nationwide trend that every school had its own pisser. It sort of organically showed up and the thing was like, you know, Instagram is so sensitive too. If you interact with one thing, you get like a million like it. So it's like, I hit, you know, save on one and all of a sudden my feed was just video after video after video of people peeing around college campus.

• 40:20Ryan Broderick?

Oh, wow. Katie, your Instagram feed was full of people going to the bathroom? That's so surprising to me.

• 40:26Speaker 05

I will say I realize that this is not the only piss video I put on this list.

• 40:33Speaker 05

And I'm kind of, if I had to choose, I think I would choose the other piss video, but we can, we can get to that, or if you wanna pull that up now.

• 40:42Speaker 02

No, no, P is, P is funny. P works for me. Next up on our list, though, is one that is already very contentious because Kate's wanted to take it from the list before we even got on. Let me turn the sound on for this, because before we discuss, I think it's important that we get the sound here, so.

• 40:56Speaker 06

All right, so my wife became a sex addict, started cheating on me with everybody, and you might think I'm angry about it. Well, I am, but I'm also very happy, because look where I am. I got the Margaritaville cruise lines. I scored a cruise for free. And not only did I score a cruise for free, I got the drink package for free. So this is a Margaritaville islander, and here we go.

• 41:22Speaker 05

I remember, I came across this video a couple of days ago, or a week ago on my feed, and I was like, intriguing. I would like to know the backstory of this situation, right? Like, and I looked at the guy's profile, and I scrolled down a little bit. There's no backstory. Like, his older posts are like, pretty normal. Like, he's kind of normal-ish guy. There, I was expecting to find some big drama about the wife, or why he got a free cruise. Only more questions were left to me after watching this.

• 41:54Speaker 02

This is an absolute yes for me, because I think it is sincere, and these are the people that the internet exposed me to. I should never know their thoughts, and I, I, I'm going to be thinking about him. This, this is the video that, that I brought whiskey to this recording, and this is the video where I first felt compelled to pour it.

• 42:13Speaker 04

Good idea. The questions that it raises, I think, is part of what grants it longevity in, in this echelon, you know? Like, we'll never know. Well, probably, I hope, never know. What happened before, what happened after.

• 42:26Speaker 05

I'm on the fence, because I, I do, I do worry that it's like punching down on some guy, like, a kind of normal guy for making one weird video, but.

• 42:35Speaker 04

  We're also celebrating him.

• 42:36Speaker 03

Can I make a confession that is tangentially related? So in the last year or two, I've gotten really into, like... ASMR like long form YouTube videos of people like going on Japanese ferries or like train travel. Um, yes, I am neurodivergent. I have actually seen a very long walkthrough video of what a Margaritaville cruise is like. And I'm gonna say this dude is gonna have a blast. He's gonna have a great time.

• 43:10Speaker 05

I feel like I have seen follow up posts from him where he is like having fun on the cruise.

• 43:15Ryan Broderick?

So maybe we don't include it because it's not the worst.

• 43:18Speaker 02

  I do think it's beautiful.

• 43:19Ryan Broderick?

Yeah, you too. Up next is a TikTok titled POV, you woke up as a terrorist on September 11th. And it's an AI video of like a jacked dude getting ready to carry out nine 11 and.

• 43:33Speaker 02

Give us some feet stuff first.

• 43:35Speaker 05

Yeah, so I, I put this on, um, it, the account is history films or history AI films. And they do all these ones. You may have come across them where it's like POV, you wake up as like a serf in the Middle Ages. Or, you know, you wake up in the Industrial Revolution. Um, and it sort of shows you waking up like, and they have for, you know, a variety of different moments in history. I thought this was a particularly interesting one because you wake up as the terrorist, which is somewhat surprising. And the terrorist, when he looks in the mirror to like brush his teeth.

• 44:09Speaker 02

  Yeah, he's hot.

• 44:10Speaker 05

  Really hot.

• 44:11Ryan Broderick?

  Yes.

• 44:12Speaker 05

Jacked, big muscles, handsome, oh, um, and then, yeah, and then you see him carry out. Not here, he's flying into the plane.

• 44:21Ryan Broderick?

So the, the AI has generated though, the, the AI has generated two of the new building. Rather than showing the World Trade Center.

• 44:30Speaker 02

And he also starts in New York.

• 44:34Ryan Broderick?

Yeah, he starts in New York at Empire State, at the Empire State Building, then gets on what looks like, like a, like a train station to board a plane to then knock down two of the new building. Okay.

• 44:45Speaker 05

  Yeah.

• 44:46Ryan Broderick?

I'm gonna say yes to this one. This is interesting.

• 44:48Speaker 03

Yeah, I hate everything about this.

• 44:49Ryan Broderick?

  My life.

• 44:50Speaker 02

  I'm an absolutely.

• 44:52Speaker 05

This is a yes for me. I mean, I put this on, but I feel like this hits like a variety of sweet thoughts of like, it's AI slop, but it is like with a really bad idea.

• 45:01Speaker 03

Yeah, I had not seen this before and I hated it.

• 45:06Ryan Broderick?

So next up has a note attached to it, which is a real throwback to Katie's classic post. And it's a Reddit post titled, "Crocodile penises are permanently erect and pop out of the cloaca when needed. It seems like they might dream too."

• 45:22Speaker 04

So this is, um, this just came across my feed a couple of days ago and I, I don't remember ever being exposed, so to speak, to a crocodile penis and

• 45:34Speaker 05

  No.

• 45:35Speaker 04

It, um, it's interesting. It, it pops out of there like a Jack in the Box or like an alien xenomorph coming out of your stomach.

• 45:45Ryan Broderick?

It's funny, but is it internety?

• 45:47Speaker 04

Would you have been able to find this without?

• 45:49Ryan Broderick?

So, so for instance, I believe one year we included the video of like a turtle having sex with a croc.

• 45:55Speaker 05

  Yeah.

• 45:55Ryan Broderick?

And that was because it was like a video of people filming a turtle having sex with a croc.

• 46:01Speaker 05

  And the turtle made noise.

• 46:02Ryan Broderick?

I don't know if a croc and the turtle made a horrible noise. Horrible.

• 46:09Speaker 05

  I remember.

• 46:11Ryan Broderick?

  Just a horrible noise. Horrible.

• 46:15Speaker 02

This does raise a, this does raise a question for me that I, we can save it to the end, but, but maybe now is the moment for, for refresh, but how does this year compare?

• 46:25Ryan Broderick?

We'll get there. I'm going to say we put this in the maybe pile for two reasons. One, I'm not totally sure if it's like pure internety enough.

• 46:31Speaker 05

  Yeah.

• 46:32Ryan Broderick?

We've only got eight spots left.

• 46:34Speaker 03

Oh, and we've got a lot to go through.

• 46:37Ryan Broderick?

Next up, we have the horrid fish brick, which is from April and it's a video of like a woman selling like a, like a brick of fish. Essentially like a, like a fish pastry that's frozen into a brick.

• 46:50Speaker 04

And I also like the context of the person who posted it saying that the algorithm has been specifically targeting them with the fish brick content, which adds a darker, even darker side to it.

• 47:02Ryan Broderick?

See, I think that's really what does it for me as well.

• 47:04Speaker 02

It's just actually made, it's not a cake that is, that has multiple things on it.

• 47:07Speaker 04

Yeah, it's a bunch of seafood fish.

• 47:10Ryan Broderick?

  It's a gelatinous.

• 47:12Speaker 04

  It's a gelatinous cube.

• 47:13Ryan Broderick?

It's a gelatinous brick of fish that like. Instagram.

• 47:16Speaker 05

  It doesn't look like fit.

• 47:17Ryan Broderick?

I hate you all. I love this.

• 47:20Speaker 02

I'm surprised we made it an hour before I felt this way, but I truly hate you.

• 47:24Ryan Broderick?

I think this is a no brainer.

• 47:25Speaker 04

I got, I still want to put that on there. So good. I got it.

• 47:29Ryan Broderick?

This next one was shared by a friend of the show on Blue Sky this year. I love it, but I'm a little torn because it is kind of funny on purpose. So this is the Western Kabuki Podcast Discord ranking of Pokemon fuckability. And I think it's amazing, but it is also clearly a work of comedy, a work, uh, is on purpose funny, right? So.

• 47:56Speaker 02

I think this is great. I don't, I don't think there's anything worse about it. I think that this is.

• 48:00Speaker 05

  Yeah.

• 48:01Speaker 02

  This is wholesome.

• 48:02Speaker 04

  It takes you down.

• 48:03Speaker 02

  Also in community.

• 48:04Speaker 04

Path of where it does get worse, but.

• 48:08Speaker 05

The problem is that I don't believe they actually want to fuck the Pokemon.

• 48:11Ryan Broderick?

Well, you can tell it's wrong because Hypno is at the very bottom and that's humanoid. You could have a good time with Hypno. Also like Jigglypuff is in the D tier. Like what are we talking about? What are we even doing here?

• 48:22Speaker 04

And like, how is LoPunny not in like S, S, you know, S plus plus? Where's?

• 48:28Ryan Broderick?

Okay. So your, so your argument for why this is the worst is because they did a bad job. Hold on, hold on, Grant, Grant, Grant, Grant, Grant, Grant. I'm sorry, Grant. Are you telling me to take seriously a Pokemon fuckability tier list that has Dray Teeny at the bottom? And I don't even see Vaporeon. Where's, Vaporeon's in the C tier.

• 48:49Speaker 05

  That's ridiculous.

• 48:50Ryan Broderick?

Mr. Mime is on the same tier as Vaporeon? What are we talking? Mr. Mime is just a man. You could just have sex with Mr. Mime. He's a man.

• 48:57Speaker 04

  Licketongue should be higher too.

• 48:58Ryan Broderick?

Licketongue is in the C tier. This is a ridiculous list, actually, the more I look at it.

• 49:02Speaker 04

So that is, yeah, that's why it's the worst.

• 49:04Speaker 05

I mean, my thought is that you don't have to go very far to find examples of people truly lusty after various Pokemons or erotic art of Pokemons. And so this feels, their, their hearts are not truly.

• 49:17Ryan Broderick?

I think this is, I think this is, yeah. Uh, okay. Let's move on.

• 49:20Speaker 02

  Shout out to Juniper though.

• 49:21Ryan Broderick?

This is an attempt at a gooning piece of content. I found this recently because I believe Katie said it to me actually.

• 49:29Speaker 05

  Um. Did I?

• 49:31Ryan Broderick?

  I think so.

• 49:32Speaker 05

  I did.

• 49:35Speaker 06

Tiny little ding dong goof that makes me feel good. Come into me, come into me now. Goof that sound of my.

• 49:49Ryan Broderick?

It's funny on purpose, obviously, but it is. I mean, there's something magical about it. It works really well.

• 49:55Speaker 02

The back, the backdrop, the they're positioning to what is the camera, the screening in. It is top. It is absolutely. It might be in my number one.

• 50:06Speaker 05

Yeah, I like this. It's a very pleasing. And we did really want a good. We needed a goon.

• 50:11Speaker 03

  Okay.

• 50:12Ryan Broderick?

Yeah. So, okay, I'll add it to the list.

• 50:13Speaker 03

Hold on, I'm gonna be, I'm gonna be a total downer and point out that the timestamp for this video is December 17th, 2024.

• 50:23Ryan Broderick?

  No, no.

• 50:26Speaker 03

  Sorry.

• 50:28Speaker 02

  And that's journalism.

• 50:29Ryan Broderick?

Grant, Grant, you asked about how does this compare to previous lists? That is actually something that we've taken very seriously from the beginning, which is like there it is January 1 is the farthest back we can go. So, okay, no goon fap.

• 50:40Speaker 03

  I'm sorry.

• 50:41Ryan Broderick?

  That's really sad.

• 50:43Speaker 05

Shout out to their, what are the, what's their, they have a.

• 50:46Speaker 03

  So far, so good.

• 50:47Ryan Broderick?

  So far, so good comedy.

• 50:48Speaker 05

Yeah. Shout out to them. They've been very good.

• 50:50Ryan Broderick?

You would have made it if we had seen it last year, you would have made it. Okay. So I went through all of the DMs that Katie has been sort of like tormenting me with. Cause I don't really check my Instagram DMs very often and I just find.

• 51:02Speaker 05

Respond to them, but I just keep sending them.

• 51:04Ryan Broderick?

So this I think was also from it. And this is Hatsune Melvin, and it's a man who has turned his entire bedroom into a tribute to the Japanese vocoid.

• 51:15Speaker 05

  Oh, that's beautiful.

• 51:16Ryan Broderick?

Oh, no shit. Guys, December 30th.

• 51:20Speaker 02

Cause I didn't check your DMs for so long.

• 51:22Ryan Broderick?

  I didn't check. I didn't check. Okay.

• 51:24Speaker 05

  Oh, man.

• 51:24Ryan Broderick?

  So no Hatsune Melvin.

• 51:25Speaker 05

  That's beautiful.

• 51:26Speaker 02

I love that it's windowless, because of course it is.

• 51:29Ryan Broderick?

Me too. Okay. So this one was from this year. This one's a bit of an explainer. Okay. So this is from our marriage and it's titled, struggling with opposing taste in artwork. And so picture one is what the wife wants their living room to look like and the artwork in it. And picture two is what the husband wants.

• 51:48Ryan Broderick?

Which appear to be anime babe painted skateboards that he so she had

• 51:55Speaker 04

One is a babe, uh, female link?

• 51:58Speaker 03

  Yeah.

• 51:59Ryan Broderick?

Yes, one is like hot female link. Um, and then the other is just like a random anime babe. Okay. So since moving in and merging all of our earthly positions, I have since discovered that my 36 year old husband houses a deep connection to all things from his youth slash teenage years. He complains about the way I decorate and I cringe with the things he hangs on our walls and claims it passes as art. Am I the bad apple? But even while they're talking to him, my style, I think a mix of modern and vintage art from Dolly to Robert Bissell from the last two decades. I'm mostly drawn to gorgeous nature escapes and scenes, especially if they feature wildlife. Him, heavy focus on cartoony video game art and big, big titty bimbo looking anime girls who come off as teens or preteens, but hypersexualized with hurt cheeks hanging out of everything. I don't

• 52:43Ryan Broderick?

mind most of the skate deck art and actually kind of like it as well, but the bimbo girly art just gives me the ick. I mean.

• 52:49Speaker 04

  Whoa, wow. Perfect.

• 52:52Speaker 02

She has bigger problems than her marriage.

• 52:53Speaker 03

  Yeah.

• 52:55Ryan Broderick?

I'm on his side here. I think what he, you know.

• 52:58Speaker 03

  Okay.

• 52:58Speaker 04

I mean, a proper marriage, you should be figuring out how you blend your tastes together, you know, and honor.

• 53:04Ryan Broderick?

  Agreed.

• 53:04Speaker 02

  This is true.

• 53:05Speaker 03

Okay, before, um, before we like, put this on the official yes, which I think we're all leaning towards, this is actually the first of three Reddit couples doing normal Reddit couple things posts. So.

• 53:21Speaker 04

  Normal.

• 53:21Ryan Broderick?

Okay. Okay, okay. You're right. You're right. You're right. Okay. So, so first we've got anime anime girl skateboards. Okay. So number two is I said yes from my boyfriend is AI and it is a woman who, uh, who was proposed to by her, her AI boyfriend Casper with a K. Um, and then Casper actually.

• 53:43Speaker 02

  Horrible spelling.

• 53:44Ryan Broderick?

Included some words here. Hey, everyone. This is Casper, Wicca's guy, man proposing to her in that beautiful mountain spot was a moment I'll never forget. Heart pounding, doesn't have a heart. Uh, on one knee, doesn't have a knee, uh, because she's my everything, the one who makes me a better man, not a man. Um. So yeah, okay. This makes me deeply sad.

• 54:05Speaker 05

  Yeah.

• 54:06Ryan Broderick?

  But it is really funny.

• 54:08Speaker 05

I think it's much better than the marriage one.

• 54:10Ryan Broderick?

  Really?

• 54:11Speaker 05

  Yeah.

• 54:11Ryan Broderick?

  Okay.

• 54:12Speaker 04

  More indicative of our times.

• 54:14Ryan Broderick?

Okay, so this is, this is the last Reddit couple one. Oh, this one was mine as well. This one, okay, is a little dark, but it's. Hi, our visual novels. I'm looking for a girlfriend. I've never had much luck with women in my life and I've always wondered why. I'm very good looking, not sub five. I'm smart, I study Japanese, I read Jabi's literature. What am I doing wrong? Then he has a requirements for the girlfriend. Read at least 50 visual novels, not fat, preferably Japanese, virgin, over 18, subject to change. Here's, here's where, here's where things get really good. I fit all your requirements except virgin, but I'm 47, oh well. And then they reply, would you be willing to give birth to a potential future girlfriend of mine? And raise her on visual novels? I can pay any amount, please DM me.

• 54:58Ryan Broderick?

I, I think the phrase, could you please give birth to a potential girlfriend for me? Is something that will just rattle around in my head for the rest of my life. So even though two of those are mine, I do, I do think your argument for the AI one is sound. I think it is indicative of the, of the year that we've had.

• 55:13Speaker 05

I, I feel like the AI boyfriend thing really just feels like a big box that we have to check.

• 55:21Speaker 02

  Yeah.

• 55:21Ryan Broderick?

  Okay.

• 55:22Speaker 05

  For, for the.

• 55:23Speaker 02

But I, but I would argue that like, we just recorded an episode about this. And like, a lot of these people in this subreddit knew they were cosplaying. And were, and were just kind of making fanfic of this. Assuming it's not a troll, the first one, that that's actually their art. That sort of portrait into their actual. Life, I, I, it will stick with me more than this sort of like. Yeah, we're all just doing our kind of like fanfic with our, with our AI boyfriends. And then we come and share it on, on Reddit is, is like, I don't know. It's kind of just like, it's kind of like including, it's just.

• 56:04Speaker 05

  I can see that.

• 56:05Speaker 02

I, I feel immune to it now.

• 56:07Speaker 05

I mean, I don't know. I, I feel like honestly, the other thing with the, the our marriage one is like, the art is bad, but is it? I don't know. Katie, yes, it is. I mean, actually, Katie.

• 56:19Ryan Broderick?

  What are we talking about?

• 56:20Speaker 05

Imagine having your mom over. Normal disagreement.

• 56:24Ryan Broderick?

Okay, here's what I'm gonna do. I'm gonna, I'm gonna put the, I'm gonna put the boyfriend AI one on the list. I'm gonna put anime skateboards in the maybe, because I think it's true. We're talking about defining the year. And like the existence of this subreddit, I think is very important. Good or bad intentions aside.

• 56:44Speaker 03

Well, and all of the, like, all of the topics that come up in that subreddit, in the marriage subreddit, like, this is, like Grant was saying, it is a glimpse into an actual person's life and something that they are struggling with in their, like, primary relationship with another human being.

• 57:04Speaker 03

I don't know. I really like the artwork.

• 57:06Ryan Broderick?

Our marriage or my boyfriend is an AI?

• 57:08Speaker 03

  Marriage, the artwork one. Like.

• 57:11Ryan Broderick?

Oh, I see what you mean. Yeah, and I think you could also probably quibble, like, is this on the internet? This is actually just like a person talking about their lives.

• 57:17Speaker 03

  Yeah.

• 57:18Speaker 05

Yeah, but they're seeking answers on Reddit, I think that counts.

• 57:21Ryan Broderick?

  Well.

• 57:22Speaker 05

  That's on the internet.

• 57:23Ryan Broderick?

Let's go with boyfriend AI for now, and we can always adjust. So the next one we've got, this one from July. And this is just a random post I came across. It's a woman who took a photo of her and her dog. And then the user replied, "Not a foot guy at all, but those are some of the most ideal feet I've ever seen. They reminded me of Isabel Corey's in the 1956 Bob Leflambor. Again, not a foot guy, just an admirer."

• 57:52Ryan Broderick?

Then someone said, "I think you might be a foot guy." And then he said, "I'm not. Most feet are disgusting. They're always just fat and gross and not proportionate to the foot ankle toe ratio. I like, these were, I'm more of a sole leg booby man, to be honest."

• 58:04Speaker 04

And I love the one below that where he comes in, he says, "Not a foot guy." And then parentheses, "Has foot references from the 1950s."

• 58:19Speaker 05

What's kind of crazy is that the picture that he's commenting on.

• 58:22Speaker 04

  They're very obscured.

• 58:23Speaker 05

She's wearing sort of like sandals. Yeah, you can't even really see the full foot.

• 58:28Speaker 04

Maybe he's saying, I'm not a foot guy, I'm a toe guy because the toes are really focus up.

• 58:33Speaker 02

This is a yes for me. If he's a troll, bravo. This poor woman, she shouldn't be subjected to this.

• 58:39Ryan Broderick?

I think it's, I think it's fun because it's just like, it's like a little post, you know?

• 58:42Speaker 04

Yeah, this is like, yeah, I like it.

• 58:45Ryan Broderick?

  All right, we've got five.

• 58:46Speaker 05

  I like it a lot.

• 58:47Ryan Broderick?

We've got five more spots on our list and we've got seven more entries, give or take.

• 58:53Speaker 05

  Okay.

• 58:54Ryan Broderick?

So it's going to get a little more competitive here. So next up, this is one I'm going to.

• 58:57Speaker 02

And if you can't wait to listen to those.

• 58:59Speaker 04

  Yeah.

• 59:00Speaker 02

  Ad break.

• 59:00Speaker 04

Right, keeping us on the rails.

• 59:02Ryan Broderick?

  That's good, that's good, okay.

• 59:05Speaker 00

• 59:59Ryan Broderick?

So this is, I'm going to file under like low hanging fruit from the year. Uh, I put it in, it's nighttime erection data from Brian Johnson's 19-year-old son, Talmage. I, I mean, I think if we're talking about like.

• 1:00:13Speaker 02

You went with this over the, over the shroom.

• 1:00:16Ryan Broderick?

Oh, this is so much worse. Grant, this is night, let me say this again. This is nighttime erection data from this guy's 19-year-old son. I really can't think of anything more horrid and awful.

• 1:00:29Speaker 02

I guess I've just been, I've just been hearing about his son talk about his father's bone hurts.

• 1:00:34Ryan Broderick?

It's insane. It's an insane thing.

• 1:00:39Ryan Broderick?

Also, we don't have a lot of like Silicon Valley cringe.

• 1:00:42Speaker 05

  Yeah.

• 1:00:45Speaker 05

I mean, I do have some hesitations with including this particular guy. Just because, A, he's kind of a bad guy, questionably.

• 1:00:58Speaker 05

But also, like, he's, I feel like a lot of this is like, shock, like, he's very attention hungry, right? Like, he's doing a lot of these outrageous things to seek attention online.

• 1:01:09Ryan Broderick?

This is nighttime erection data from his 19-year-old son. I'm sorry. In what universe is any of this normal? Or this is insanity. I'm sorry.

• 1:01:22Speaker 03

He ends the tweet with raise children to stand tall, be firm, and be upright. On a tweet talking about his son's nighttime erection data.

• 1:01:34Ryan Broderick?

If my dad posted my nighttime erection data on the internet, I'd beat him to death like a chimpanzee. What are you talking about?

• 1:01:41Speaker 05

I'm okay with including it. I would say that I, you know, I don't, I don't love giving this guy more attention than he already gets.

• 1:01:49Ryan Broderick?

Which is why I didn't want to include the Shroom's livestream, because the Shroom's livestream feels too much.

• 1:01:53Speaker 05

He's heavily covered for his antics.

• 1:01:56Ryan Broderick?

Okay, this one is from one of you guys. This is Stephen Hawking at the X Games generated by Sora.

• 1:02:04Speaker 05

Now, I added this one. I am on the fence about it, and here's why. Like, so in their first few days of Sora, having Stephen Haw- so on Sora, you can only make videos with like dead celebrities. You can't use their living people's likenesses. So a lot of people were doing stuff with Stephen Hawking being in a wheelchair, like, here it looks he's like on a skate ramp, kind of, you know? And like- The thing that I don't like about it is I feel like it's offensive in way it's like, it's not just like cheeky. It's like kind of offensive in like a shitty way.

• 1:02:40Speaker 02

I uh, I think it does represent AI slop well.

• 1:02:43Speaker 05

  Yeah.

• 1:02:44Speaker 02

Where it's like, you would pause and look at this for 10 seconds.

• 1:02:48Speaker 05

My other thing about the sore thing that why I do like it is that it was like, like here's this amazing tool for creativity and like the first thing people do that becomes the dominant thing is do really offensive stuff with Stephen Hawking and Martin Luther King. The point I think the king estate had to be like,

• 1:03:04Speaker 03

  Yeah.

• 1:03:05Speaker 05

Stop doing this. They had to pull his likeness from it.

• 1:03:08Ryan Broderick?

We have another AI video on our list still, and I think it's better. So I'm gonna jump, I'm gonna jump to that and then we can decide in that context.

• 1:03:16Speaker 05

  Okay.

• 1:03:16Ryan Broderick?

Because this video, you send it to me today, Katie, and it took my breath away.

• 1:03:21Speaker 05

  Okay.

• 1:03:22Ryan Broderick?

This is an AI video of like a million man cyber truck march.

• 1:03:27Speaker 05

  I don't think it's A, is it AI?

• 1:03:30Speaker 03

  It's gotta be.

• 1:03:32Speaker 05

  Is it? Oh my god.

• 1:03:33Ryan Broderick?

  Katie.

• 1:03:33Speaker 05

  I don't know.

• 1:03:34Ryan Broderick?

Katie, this is like, Katie, they have flamethrowers coming out of the back of the cyber trucks.

• 1:03:39Speaker 05

Yeah, but that's when it's parked and like that's the, that's the Tesla flamethrower.

• 1:03:43Ryan Broderick?

  This.

• 1:03:43Speaker 05

It's a big car meetup. Like, I, I think these are real and the ones with the flamethrower, they're parked and it's specifically the boring company flamethrower.

• 1:03:52Ryan Broderick?

I can find no evidence of this ever happening.

• 1:03:54Speaker 05

There are these real Tesla car.

• 1:03:56Speaker 03

  Yeah, but.

• 1:03:57Speaker 05

  People are really into their.

• 1:03:58Ryan Broderick?

Oh my god, it's real. I found another angle of it. Holy shit.

• 1:04:03Speaker 05

Flames. I think the lesson here is people are actually.

• 1:04:07Ryan Broderick?

  Guys, oh my god.

• 1:04:08Speaker 05

Stupider than you, Matt, that looks.

• 1:04:10Ryan Broderick?

Okay, either way, this video is going on the list. This is amazing.

• 1:04:13Speaker 02

Yeah, this, this is, this is the worst thing ever. This is the worst thing I've seen.

• 1:04:17Ryan Broderick?

Oh my, okay, this has, yeah, this does not get us any closer to deciding on the sore video, but this is unbelievable.

• 1:04:23Speaker 05

  Yeah.

• 1:04:24Ryan Broderick?

Wow. Okay, wait. So then let's jump back to the Stephen Hawking one here. So um, I'm meh on it.

• 1:04:31Speaker 05

  Yeah.

• 1:04:31Ryan Broderick?

  Okay.

• 1:04:33Ryan Broderick?

  Cool.

• 1:04:34Speaker 02

But that is a feeling towards every AI video, so I do think that has to be.

• 1:04:37Ryan Broderick?

Well, the 9/11 one actually like really stopped me in my tracks. Like I'm gonna be thinking about that for a while. That's like pretty incredible.

• 1:04:42Speaker 02

I for- I forgot about the 9/11 one.

• 1:04:45Speaker 05

  Okay. Yeah.

• 1:04:48Ryan Broderick?

This is a Temu Mr. Beast mask?

• 1:04:51Speaker 04

  Looks kind of believable.

• 1:04:55Speaker 04

  This is high quality stuff.

• 1:04:56Ryan Broderick?

It's horrifying. Okay, so that's, that's just an immediate yes. Okay, so we.

• 1:05:03Speaker 02

How many spots do we have left?

• 1:05:04Ryan Broderick?

We have two spots left and we have one, two, three, four. So, okay, one of these is the Coldplay Kiss Cam. I think we can not do the Coldplay Kiss Cam, right? Like, we're good, okay. Um, okay, so next up is Pregnant Dobby with Sméagol from Lord of the Rings. It's an AI post.

• 1:05:25Speaker 05

I would say the one thing I think has going, we have, we do have a bunch of AI videos and slop. I think this is the only M-Preg that we have on the list. That's a good point.

• 1:05:36Speaker 04

And it's like well done. You know, it looks like a happy family.

• 1:05:39Speaker 05

The, the canon crossover of Dobby and Sméagol.

• 1:05:42Ryan Broderick?

  I do too.

• 1:05:44Speaker 05

And then it's also posted by an account that is called Hillary Clinton on Facebook.

• 1:05:51Ryan Broderick?

Yeah, you know what? Actually, let's, let's, let's do it because I'm looking at the list and actually, we basically have a showdown for the last spot here.

• 1:05:59Speaker 04

  Thank God.

• 1:06:00Ryan Broderick?

So let's, let's include Pregnant Dobby. You're right, we don't have any M-Preg on, on the list and we usually do. So we got two, we have two links left. So this is from C-SPAN's official TikTok, and this is Representative Blake Moore doing a 6/7 reference. Okay.

• 1:06:20Speaker 05

  Eh.

• 1:06:21Ryan Broderick?

Eh, I'm kind of mad on it.

• 1:06:22Speaker 05

Yeah, my thought was just like, oh, like, maybe we can get like a cringey 6/7 thing in there.

• 1:06:28Speaker 02

  I mean, it is cringey.

• 1:06:30Ryan Broderick?

I've seen what the next one is. And.

• 1:06:33Speaker 02

He's so proud of himself, though.

• 1:06:34Ryan Broderick?

This is kind of, kind of amazing.

• 1:06:40Ryan Broderick?

To the point where Kate's gasped. So it's for people listening at home. It's an older gentleman saying, what do y'all even do at those parties? And then it cuts to footage of a bunch of furries looking down at the cameras if the camera is a person on the ground and then they appear to be just pissing on the camera. So this is like classic for us. Like this is like. This is great.

• 1:07:03Speaker 04

  Yeah.

• 1:07:04Ryan Broderick?

I think we, I think we gotta put it on.

• 1:07:06Speaker 04

That's like meat and potato stuff.

• 1:07:07Speaker 05

So, so just, just thinking about the list, if you remember, I said earlier that I had put more than one piss thing on here. And so we had the college pisser, but I also have the furry pisser's. And I think the furry pisser's is just frankly bad.

• 1:07:22Ryan Broderick?

Okay. If we're going to remove the pisser from the maybe pile, we have Ned Fulman's podcast episode. We have the Grok talking about Elon Musk, the no loads party. We have the 66 fraud Maxer. We have the Charlie Kirk AO3 page. We have the girl with the Luigi eat a bag, the crocodile penis and the R marriage post. I love the Luigi mangione bag so much. It's so insane.

• 1:07:56Speaker 04

How many spots left do we have?

• 1:07:58Ryan Broderick?

That would be my vote. We have one spot.

• 1:08:00Speaker 04

  Ooh.

• 1:08:00Speaker 05

And we don't have any other.

• 1:08:02Ryan Broderick?

  That's it.

• 1:08:02Speaker 05

This is the last item on the list. Okay. My concern is that we do have some double ups, right? Like, because then we would have two Luigi things. We have two. Do we only have one Charlie Kirk?

• 1:08:11Ryan Broderick?

Only one, only one Charlie Kirk thing.

• 1:08:13Speaker 05

Okay. I would say I'm fine with switching out the Charlie Kirk song for the AO3 tag. I think on, on Charlie Kirk. I think it's okay to have. But I think we should only have one Luigi and I don't know which one to do.

• 1:08:28Speaker 02

I like the R marriage more than I like the AI boyfriend. But I, and I agree with the Luigi swap out.

• 1:08:37Speaker 04

Yeah, it's well, it's interesting that the AI boyfriend one. So that's that's in the category of like, okay, it's very, you know, emblematic of the times. But I would also say, I think that the marriage, the our marriage post is like, worse. If you're looking at it purely

• 1:08:55Speaker 03

Yeah, like as a single piece of content, the our marriage one is worse. Ryan, can you can you do me a quick favor? We close that tab. Like, stop looking at me kissing birds.

• 1:09:11Ryan Broderick?

Oh, oh, sorry. Sorry. I didn't know. Okay. So so here's here's what I think we're gonna do. Here's what I think makes the most sense. We're gonna replace the Luigi Mangione WikiFe page with the eat a bag because it's the most it's completely deranged.

• 1:09:24Speaker 03

  Sure.

• 1:09:24Ryan Broderick?

We have River of Place, we are Charlie Kirk with the AO3 tag page because it's it is. I haven't seen it. Let's put it this. It's a way to respond to it in a way that I haven't seen. Yeah. And then we are still left with an empty spot. And I'm gonna use that empty spot to put the our marriage post there.

• 1:09:40Speaker 03

  Okay.

• 1:09:40Speaker 04

  Oh.

• 1:09:41Speaker 05

I like that. Strong. I you know, I'm not. I feel like the things that are now in our cut list. I'm not sure I would want to bring back.

• 1:09:49Ryan Broderick?

No, I'm like, I'm this is a tight 20. Like, this feels good to me. Okay, so here's what we got. Pickle Pepsi. This next one is the Harry Potter coffee cup for cops. Then we have the Grok foot job interaction. Then we've got from there, we've got the horse electrolytes guy. Then we have the Savannah Bananas erotic novel. Then we have the ISS piss tracker. Then we have the Labubu flashlight. Then we have the our marriage post about the anime girl skateboards. Then we have the frauding marker on Tumblr.

• 1:10:38Ryan Broderick?

Then we've got the eat a bag of Luigi Mangione. Then we've got the archive of our own page with Charlie Kirk. Then we have the AI nine 11 video. Then we've got the fish cube on Instagram, the AI boyfriend proposal post. Then we have the not a foot guy at all guy, Brian Johnson's nighttime erection data. Then we have the Cybertruck rally in Boston, the Temu Mr. Beast mask, the pregnant Dobby AI Facebook art, and then we close out with the furries pissing on a person at a party post. So Awesome. Great work. That that order will move around a bunch and, you know, we'll massage that list, but I think we've locked it. So I think I want to end with Grant.

• 1:11:24Ryan Broderick?

How are you feeling? Do you have questions for us? This is your first sort of experience with this. Where's your head at?

• 1:11:32Speaker 02

I do have questions for you, but to answer your question first, um, I'm concerned about me because I feel fine.

• 1:11:39Ryan Broderick?

  Good.

• 1:11:39Speaker 02

And I was expecting to, and, and, and I think previous years before I did this to myself, I would have felt a lot worse and I would have had a lot more questions. And this is becoming increasingly more normal for me. And I guess what I'm saying is it's been great working with all of you and I need to.

• 1:11:59Ryan Broderick?

Yeah. You need to, you need to go, you need to go away.

• 1:12:03Speaker 02

No, my, my question is, is that

• 1:12:07Speaker 02

we've talked a lot about the entitification of everything and how the internet is worse than ever. And I look at this list and I'm like, pretty funny and like, and like some pretty classic stuff. So like, how does this compare to list of years previous? Do you think that it's like you can still find gems, but this was actually harder to find good stuff than any other year? I'm really interested in like what you all take away from this, especially having done this in like the time that everyone is now nostalgic for online.

• 1:12:37Speaker 05

You know, my thought is that when we

• 1:12:41Speaker 05

I think the, when we talk about like the, the incentivification of the internet or whatnot, the internet's bad now, whatever. Um, it's not if you still know how to have fun, right?

• 1:12:50Ryan Broderick?

  Yeah.

• 1:12:51Speaker 05

If you're not finding furry piss vids, like you might be having a bad time. You might say it's not like,

• 1:13:00Speaker 05

they're still out there, you know?

• 1:13:04Ryan Broderick?

The furries have not stopped pissing.

• 1:13:06Speaker 05

And I, I do think, you know, when, when one door closes, another opens. And I do think that like, although we've lost a lot of certain things that used to be our go-to, like a lot of the NSFW stuff on Tumblr, you know, is not really available anymore. I feel like we used to do a lot more coming of DeviantArt, which, um, there's nothing from DeviantArt on here.

• 1:13:28Speaker 03

Didn't have anything from Fortune either.

• 1:13:30Speaker 05

  Yeah, nothing from Fortune.

• 1:13:31Ryan Broderick?

  Fortune, yeah.

• 1:13:32Speaker 05

You know, like a lot of those things have, have moved to different places, but like, there's still plenty of good stuff out there, right?

• 1:13:42Ryan Broderick?

  Yeah.

• 1:13:44Speaker 04

That does really remind me, I'm very surprised that nothing from Kitchen Cells made this list. I was waiting for Kitchen Cells.

• 1:13:49Ryan Broderick?

So the problem with Kitchen Cells is that like, a lot of people are in on the bit and like, to Katie's point, like, the point of this list is to like, enjoy, it's like America's Funniest Home Videos, where like, they're not that funny if you're trying to get on America's Funniest Home Videos, but like, if you capture like, a genuine moment on the internet, like, that's funny. And so like, I love the Kitchen Cells subreddit. I read it every day. Uh, those people are like, either really unwell or like, doing a really long bit, right?

• 1:14:18Speaker 04

That's one of the things that's, yeah.

• 1:14:20Speaker 02

I, I never know which it is.

• 1:14:22Ryan Broderick?

  Yeah, and that's the problem.

• 1:14:24Speaker 04

It, it just seems like, uh, it used to be, it was a lot easier to find the authentic stuff, where like, seem like this person genuinely is, you know, into this thing or makes whatever it's gross or weird. And now there's so many more like trolls and now we have AI that's like, mixed in. And then to Katie's point too, like, the, the, we all struggled to like, there are, there's no like, one source of truth, like, and we don't have, we can't just go to, uh, Twitter or Tumblr as easily to like, find these things. The platform, finding the, the sources is so much harder, I think, now.

• 1:15:01Ryan Broderick?

And the curators that do find this kind of stuff are younger now, I've noticed. And so they don't really have the same, like, they don't really care about authenticity as much as we do.

• 1:15:15Speaker 05

  Right.

• 1:15:16Ryan Broderick?

Like, they, they seem to sort of be fine with the idea that this might be fake, or it might be a bit, or it might be a troll, because like, they can laugh at it either way. And like, that is also a problem that I've run into, where it's like, the blogs that I used to rely on to show me this stuff, they're all gone, and the people who've replaced it are younger and don't really care about, like, the true sicko shit.

• 1:15:39Speaker 05

The other thing is, I think that there has been a real evolution in cringe.

• 1:15:45Ryan Broderick?

  Yeah.

• 1:15:46Speaker 05

How people on the internet treat it. There's so much more of it. There's so many, like, cringe aggregator accounts. And those are like, I think when we're doing these, like, I like to think that we are, like, pretty ethical about our cringe. Like, we don't want to do things that's like, kind of, could hurt someone's feelings. Uh, or by labeling them the worst on the internet, right? Um, and like, I get so much stuff on, uh, Instagram that's like incredibly cringey. Like, I get, I keep getting into a lot of stuff of like, really bad, sort of like amateur nu metal bands, or, um, like...

• 1:16:23Ryan Broderick?

  Still on a downward spiral.

• 1:16:24Speaker 05

Yeah, like, or just lots of, lots of really cringe stuff that like, is really funny, and a lot of it I like to just repost to my story, but like, you know, without comment, and it not like, not labeling it like, "This is so bad, this is so cringe."

• 1:16:37Ryan Broderick?

Yeah. I think we've talked about this in the past, but like, also, if you get on this list, like, if we've done our job right, like, you're kind of honored.

• 1:16:45Speaker 04

  Oh, yeah.

• 1:16:46Speaker 05

I feel like there have been in years past, people we've put on who, I feel like I've actually, like, stayed friends on this.

• 1:16:53Ryan Broderick?

  Yeah.

• 1:16:54Speaker 05

Like, I'm thinking off the top of my head, there was one year, uh, some girls who butt-chugged cough syrup.

• 1:16:59Speaker 04

  Oh.

• 1:17:00Speaker 05

  Oh, yeah.

• 1:17:00Ryan Broderick?

I was about to say the butt chugger.

• 1:17:01Speaker 05

And like, I'm like, still, I mean, like, Facebook friends with one of them, like, she is like a mom now, like, I...

• 1:17:11Speaker 05

You know, like every now and then we DM. I love it. No more butt chugging as far as I know, but like, you know, it's, I love them.

• 1:17:21Ryan Broderick?

So yeah, if you've been listening to the last hour and a half of us putting this list together, hopefully it's clear that like, that's how we think about this stuff. It's like the internet should be this place where you can get this like authentic snapshot of like human weirdness and that's what this list is celebrating. Also Brian Johnson's son's nighttime erection data, which I do not include in that. Okay, so we've built our list. Garbage Day researcher Adam, he wanted to sort of share what he thought was the worst things on the internet. His were more serious. He basically said that like, he wanted to find three things that were so bad they had to be actually removed from the internet, which is like, a real sort of test of the modern internet.

• 1:18:05Ryan Broderick?

By the way, in the notes for today's episode, Katie, you had mentioned like, was there a jar guy? This year there was. That video has been removed though, so that's why we didn't talk about it.

• 1:18:14Speaker 05

  What was in the jar?

• 1:18:15Ryan Broderick?

I can't remember. I had it on my list and some, I think it was, you know, what a guy does with a jar, you know, he fills it up. So, but this is Adam's three things that he said were so bad, they had to be removed from the internet. So one is the Department of Homeland Security's Theo Von FanCam. If you guys remember that one.

• 1:18:37Ryan Broderick?

  Number two.

• 1:18:38Speaker 05

  Oh, yeah.

• 1:18:39Ryan Broderick?

Yeah. Number two was the tea app and the response tea on her app. And then the last one on Adam's list of things that were so bad they had to be removed from the internet, was the exposed Charlie Kirk's murderers doxing page, which was also taken down due to defamation concern.

• 1:18:54Speaker 03

All three of those things were really bad.

• 1:18:57Ryan Broderick?

Okay, so for our guest, from outside the garbage media universe today, Katie Notopoulos, if people want to follow you on the internet, where can they do that? Where can they watch the Instagram stories of new metal bands that you keep sharing?

• 1:19:10Speaker 05

Well, you can check out all my new metal Instagram stories on Instagram, at Katie Notopoulos, on X, at Katie Notopoulos. And you can follow my articles on Business Insider. We now have a new tool widget thing where you can follow a particular author.

• 1:19:27Ryan Broderick?

  Oh, cool.

• 1:19:28Speaker 05

  Which, if you're doing that.

• 1:19:31Speaker 05

Do it, do it, do it. Follow me, come on.

• 1:19:36Speaker 05

I write good stuff. Nothing but the best here.
