The fact that you guys would have me knowing I'm a liability at the corner is to say, it's like, means a lot to me, honestly. It like legitimizes that.

• 0:10Speaker 01

We're all about team play. That was a team move.

• 0:13Speaker 00

  Thank you.

• 0:14Speaker 01

  You and uh,

• 0:15Speaker 00

  Bebe.

• 0:15Speaker 01

Charlie, uh, Charlie Conway, the only guys that have pulled themselves out when they were, the team would get better.

• 0:26Travis Kelce?

Welcome back to New Heights, ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls of all ages. A wondrous show brought to you by Reese's and today we've partnered exclusively with Reese's to bring you this episode with limited interruptions. That's right. Shout out to Reese's. You guys can get us without as many ads. Um, all right. We're your hosts. I'm Travis Cousins. My big brother, Jason Kelce. Subscribe on YouTube and wherever you get your podcasts. And follow the show on all social media. Add New Heights Show with one S. Uh, this is a part of the beginning where Jason now tells you what we have coming up.

• 0:59Speaker 01

Well, 92% says we got another great episode as always. We're going to get into March Madness coming up here. Who doesn't love a little bit of bracketology? Uh, we also have Ryan Gosling here. What? Let's get right into it with a little bit of that new news.

• 1:14Travis Kelce?

  New news.

• 1:16Speaker 01

Shout out to friend of the show, Conan O'Brien. He absolutely crushed the Oscars. Hopefully all of you out there listening, watched it, did not disappoint. It's proof that it didn't disappoint by Disney saying after the Oscars, uh, hey, you can do this. You have a free invite to host the Oscars.

• 1:30Travis Kelce?

  Forever.

• 1:31Speaker 01

In perpetuity of ABC pretty much having the Oscars. So.

• 1:34Travis Kelce?

  Nice.

• 1:34Speaker 01

He's pretty much proven he is the best Oscars host of all time.

• 1:37Travis Kelce?

  All-timer, man.

• 1:38Speaker 01

Yeah. Well, did you have any Oscar underdogs that won? Hot takes from it? Anything that you took away from it?

• 1:45Travis Kelce?

Um, no, I just love how, uh, Conan and the team, uh, brought a full circle there at the end and Conan went into a room like as did like Sean Penn did in one battle after another and, um, they offed him. I thought I thought that was fucking absolutely hilarious. So Bravo to the entire Oscar nominees. That was, that was a fun one to kind of be a part of. Um, and, uh, well, be a part of meaning I was like sitting there watching it. So.

• 2:12Speaker 01

Absolutely. Um, yeah. I mean, I did what I always do. I mean, first of all, I, I love the show and the spectacle of the Oscars and what Conan did as a host, but then I also learned about a bunch of films that I kind of didn't really know about or hadn't seen yet. And then you get to go watch these amazing films that you just are, for whatever reason, weren't plugged into at the time. Now we were plugged into a lot of the big time feature films.

• 2:36Travis Kelce?

It's pretty cool to kind of be a part of, uh, some of these.

• 2:38Speaker 01

There was like a short film that was up for, I think it won the best animated short film, The Girl That Cries Pearls. It's awesome. Awesome little like puppet movie. Uh, I shouldn't say it like that. It kind of like, sounds like it was shitty. It's awesome little puppet movie. It was like incredibly artistic and just so well done. So I'm going to keep catching up on all these movies that I haven't seen. And then again, Conan, he just like, he'll say the dumbest thing and I just think it's the funniest thing on the planet. We're also dropping and out of the house from our time at TGL next Monday, the 23rd.

• 3:17Travis Kelce?

  Nice.

• 3:18Speaker 01

They let us get on the simulator. So we had a little competition. We'll see how that goes.

• 3:22Travis Kelce?

That was such bullshit. I'm calling bullshit right now.

• 3:25Speaker 01

I mean, listen, it happened. That's all I know.

• 3:29Travis Kelce?

Yeah. Yeah, you did. Fucking, I blame all you guys. Nobody fucking said we were doing a new heights one that you, I'm blaming Brandon. I'm blaming everybody.

• 3:38Speaker 01

We, we discussed it, Travis. It was, it was an email. You didn't get the email?

• 3:43Travis Kelce?

  The email.

• 3:44Speaker 01

You didn't open the new heights email?

• 3:46Travis Kelce?

No, no, I'm not, not a big email guy. You know that. I haven't checked that in years.

• 3:56Speaker 01

Well, it is the first time I've ever been competitive with my brother in golf.

• 4:00Travis Kelce?

  I was not, I wasn't competitive.

• 4:04Speaker 01

We're not gonna try and ruin what happened in the, uh, the episode. You guys are gonna want to tune in. It is fun.

• 4:10Travis Kelce?

Let's see if anyone can guess how many beers I actually had before I, I went in that competition. But yeah, make sure you subscribe on the YouTube channel. So you don't miss that. And, um, our, our book is finally coming out. No dumb questions drops June 2nd. 92% of you can preorder from anywhere now and get an exclusive sticker pack. Oh, who doesn't love stickers? Come on now, preorder a copy of No Dumb Questions from any retailer and you'll score, uh, this awesome sticker pack. Jason, you want to hold that up? Because I do not have it.

• 4:45Speaker 01

I do not have the sticker pack.

• 4:47Travis Kelce?

There it is, Brandon, right on time.

• 4:49Speaker 01

I do have the sticker pack.

• 4:51Speaker 03

  Check my mail.

• 4:53Speaker 01

Sticker, the sticker pack is up there. Big, big thing about the Kelce's, whether it's email or, or Gmail or regular mail, we're not checking it.

• 5:06Speaker 01

It's pretty much text message at the right time and.

• 5:10Speaker 03

  And those don't always.

• 5:13Speaker 03

It's a miracle this show happens ever.

• 5:17Speaker 01

Dope sticker pack though. Love the neon. Um, very St. Patrick's Day friendly, by the way, which it is of course today.

• 5:24Travis Kelce?

Heyo, happy St. Patty's Day. You gonna have some, some Bruzlowskis, some Guinnesses? You gonna have some?

• 5:31Speaker 01

I feel like I have to. I mean, listen, I, I, it's not like I used to do with the Aaron Express here in Philadelphia. Or drinking a bottle of Jameson at practice when we were in college. I have moved on to a different phase. But, uh, yeah, I'm gonna probably try and have a Guinness at some point today.

• 5:48Travis Kelce?

I see you rocking your green already.

• 5:50Speaker 01

Maybe a garage lime. Green beer.

• 5:54Travis Kelce?

I should have worn my green today.

• 5:55Speaker 01

It's not, the day isn't over, Trav.

• 5:57Travis Kelce?

St. Patty's Day is just celebrating the Irish culture, right?

• 6:00Speaker 01

Technically, it's celebrating St. Patrick, the patron saint who eradicated snakes from Ireland, among other things, of which I'm not entirely sure. Should we do like a little brief St. Patrick's Day, like Wikipedia?

• 6:13Travis Kelce?

No, probably not. You can preorder now at kelceclubhouse.com. Shout out to the clubhouse or wherever you get your books, wherever you buy books, you can go preorder it there. We'll put instructions to claim your stickers in the episode description below. All right. For new news and before we get to our incredible guest, March Madness starts this week and we're running back.

• 6:35Speaker 01

  It does.

• 6:36Travis Kelce?

The new heights, Times Reese's Bracket Challenge, brackets came out Sunday, so it's time for some picks. Are we ready to reveal our final fours?

• 6:45Speaker 01

Come on, Trav, let's go. Who's in it?

• 6:49Travis Kelce?

Right now, no, no, don't even look, don't even look, don't, no research.

• 6:53Speaker 01

  Don't look. All right.

• 6:54Travis Kelce?

Top four teams off the dome.

• 6:56Speaker 01

Haven't watched or heard a single thing about college basketball this year.

• 7:00Travis Kelce?

This is so much better than any other way to do this. This is so great. Where are you going? Where are you going?

• 7:05Speaker 01

I'm going to go with obvious, well-known teams that everybody knows are going to be within those top four. Man, some of these guys that I used to be able to go to, just they're not there anymore. I'm going to go Michigan State. I always like coaches though. Going to go Michigan State.

• 7:19Travis Kelce?

Pretty sure they're in it. They should be in it. Okay.

• 7:21Speaker 01

I am wearing green though, that might have played a factor into it. Um, I will go.

• 7:25Travis Kelce?

That is a Michigan State green too.

• 7:28Speaker 01

Go Duke, I'm going to go Duke. I know they lost Cooper Flag last year, but I mean, they're kind of always good. I'll go Duke.

• 7:34Travis Kelce?

  Brothers.

• 7:35Speaker 01

I like the Houston coach. I like what they usually play hard. Have no idea if they're any good this year, but I'm going to go Houston.

• 7:41Travis Kelce?

  Okay, they're in it.

• 7:42Speaker 01

I'm going strictly with like coaches that I know are dogs. And I'm trying to think of like one other, that's the only reason I went Izzo and the guy from Breaking Bad down there in Houston.

• 7:54Travis Kelce?

You're missing one other conference, one other top tier conference.

• 7:58Speaker 01

I'm not going by conferences. I'm going by coaches.

• 8:00Travis Kelce?

I'm just letting you know where you're at right now.

• 8:02Speaker 01

Rick Pitino is who I want to go with. I don't even know the name of the school that he's at, but I know that they play fucking hard. So I'm in those. That's my final four.

• 8:11Speaker 03

That was fun. The only issue with your final four is that Michigan State and Duke, I believe, meet in the Elite Eight.

• 8:16Speaker 01

Okay, so I need, I need somebody else in a different side of the bracket.

• 8:20Speaker 03

  Yeah.

• 8:20Speaker 01

What are my rankings of the teams that I just picked?

• 8:22Speaker 03

You got a Duke's a one, Michigan State's a three, Houston's a two, and Saint Joe's, Saint John's, I'm trying to find, Saint John, sorry.

• 8:29Speaker 01

Saint John's is also in the East, so three of your picks are in the same region.

• 8:32Speaker 03

Oh, yeah, you're right. There's Saint John.

• 8:36Speaker 03

  They're a five.

• 8:36Speaker 01

Minor detail, minor detail. There are five?

• 8:39Speaker 03

Yeah. Duke and Saint John's a five. Yeah, they played in the Sweet Sixteen.

• 8:42Speaker 01

Alright, fuck it. I'm gonna, I'm gonna put Duke. Well, I gotta see the bracket, guys. I haven't looked at this. This is our bracket. This is going very smoothly. There are five, so that means they're in the south side of the bracket.

• 8:56Speaker 03

  Yeah.

• 8:56Speaker 01

What? No. And what's Michigan State? Michigan State's a two?

• 8:59Speaker 03

Michigan State's a three. I pulled it up.

• 9:02Speaker 01

  Three?

• 9:02Speaker 03

  Yeah.

• 9:03Speaker 01

  Oh, here we go.

• 9:05Speaker 03

So you need somebody out of the West and the Midwest. What? No, he needs an east, south, west, and midwest. He needs. No, he's got Houston. Oh, no, yeah, yeah, yeah. Alright, he's got Houston, my bad. We're tracking, we're tracking. Alright, who are you feeling? Who are you feeling out of the West?

• 9:20Speaker 01

Okay, Arizona, the, the, I, I, I mean.

• 9:23Speaker 03

  Come on, throw a dart.

• 9:24Speaker 01

  Haven't, I know, I'm looking.

• 9:26Speaker 03

  Right there, brother.

• 9:27Speaker 01

  I'm not picking Texas.

• 9:29Speaker 03

  Come on.

• 9:29Speaker 01

  Uh.

• 9:30Speaker 03

I'd pick Cincinnati for you, but that's alright.

• 9:34Speaker 01

Uh, I can't say Purdue. I mean, I love the, the fact that there are two seed. I just.

• 9:39Speaker 03

  Every year, though, right?

• 9:41Speaker 01

  Oh, yeah.

• 9:42Speaker 03

  It's every year. I know.

• 9:43Speaker 01

Let's just, let's go up. I, I'm tempted to go with the five. I just always love picking Wisconsin in the brackets. I don't know why. Um, I, I mean, I'm gonna go Arizona. I'm not a, nobody else is really standing out. I'm going Arizona.

• 9:57Speaker 03

Put Arizona in that final four.

• 9:58Speaker 01

By the way, I've watched none of these teams play. Alright, keep going down.

• 10:01Speaker 03

Anybody from winning their bracket challenge. High point back in it, baby. Let's go high point.

• 10:07Speaker 03

Okay, now we need somebody out of the Midwest.

• 10:11Speaker 01

  What's up?

• 10:11Speaker 03

  I have her pick.

• 10:13Speaker 01

What's up? Do you want to pick a team?

• 10:16Speaker 01

Huh? You want to pick a bracket for, for dad?

• 10:18Speaker 03

  Yeah.

• 10:20Speaker 01

Alright. Okay. Who do you think would win in a fight? This is how dad usually does it. (laughing) Do you? Do you think?

• 10:31Speaker 03

  We're doing real stuff.

• 10:31Speaker 01

  A Wolverine or a, I don't even know what Howard's mascot is. What's Howard's mascot?

• 10:39Travis Kelce?

Is it, is it a Blue Devil? What is it?

• 10:41Speaker 03

  Bison.

• 10:43Speaker 01

A bison or a Wolverine would win in a fight?

• 10:50Speaker 03

  Bison.

• 10:51Speaker 01

Bison? Okay, we'll pick Howard. It's gonna be a loser, but we're gonna pick it. It's a good choice, girlie. Alrighty. Do we think a bulldog? Or a, a, um, a man of the cloth would win in a fight? (laughing) Yeah, you're right. Bulldog. Good. We'll go Georgia. Alrighty, do we think that a cowboy or a bunny would win in a fight? What?

• 11:17Speaker 01

  What do you need some?

• 11:17Speaker 03

  Akron's kangaroo's, right?

• 11:20Travis Kelce?

  Rose.

• 11:21Speaker 01

Okay. Okay. She needs, she needs help immediately? Okay, I, I don't know that I can do that.

• 11:28Speaker 03

We'll just, let's just throw a dart at the board here.

• 11:31Speaker 01

Um, alright, I have to go, I have to go assist. We're having some issues here.

• 11:37Speaker 03

  Sure.

• 11:38Speaker 01

  I know, I'm coming, I'm coming.

• 11:39Speaker 03

  You gonna say Iowa State?

• 11:41Speaker 01

  Uh.

• 11:43Travis Kelce?

  Do your thing.

• 11:44Speaker 01

  Yeah, at this point, yeah.

• 11:45Travis Kelce?

We can finish this later. We're not going anywhere.

• 11:47Speaker 01

  Alright.

• 11:49Speaker 03

Okay, we're gonna take a small intermission. We're gonna put an ad right here.

• 11:53Speaker 01

Alrighty, thank you to our presenting sponsor, Reese's. Reese's.

• 11:57Travis Kelce?

Reese's has put a whole new spin on March Madness this year. Bracket busted? Ha ha. They aren't just happening, they're happening for a Reese's.

• 12:08Speaker 01

Nice. Finding out your bracket is busted after round one could actually score you some free Reese's. How about that? It's not all terrible, or it even a chance to enjoy those Reese's at the men's or women's final four and championship games.

• 12:24Travis Kelce?

Wait, what? Is it too late to take my bracket completely and just get as many fucking free Reese's as I could possibly take? We're always waiting for our brackets to go sideways, but now it feels like a win because they could score us more Reese's.

• 12:40Speaker 01

Instead of wondering, why me? It's like, why not for Reese's?

• 12:44Travis Kelce?

Turn your busted bracket in for a shot at Reese's and more. Post your busted bracket, follow and tag at Reese's, R E E S E S on Instagram, X or Tik Tok and use hashtag for a Reese's sweeps.

• 13:01Speaker 01

And you'll have a chance to score free Reese's and a shot to enjoy those Reese's at a men's or women's final four and championship games. Wow.

• 13:09Travis Kelce?

No purchase necessary. Void where prohibited. Open to U.S. residents 18 or older. Giveaway ends March 27, 2026. See the link in the episode description for official rules.

• 13:25Speaker 01

Not gonna lie, eating a Reese's at a final four game sounds, I don't know if there's anything that sounds better than that. Sounds fucking awesome. Alrighty, so so far I've picked three teams in one side of the bracket, unfortunately, so I have to pick. So I have Houston, though, we've reassessed. Now it's Houston, Arizona. I have, what's good on?

• 13:49Speaker 03

  Duke or Michigan State?

• 13:51Speaker 01

No, no, I want Houston, right?

• 13:54Speaker 03

  They're in the South.

• 13:55Speaker 01

Oh, so Houston was already in the South.

• 13:57Speaker 03

Houston's good. Houston was your correct final four pick. Yeah.

• 14:01Speaker 01

Duke or Michigan State? I just, I never, I know I should pick Duke, but I never picked Duke because I kind of like, I don't know. Yeah, I don't know what, like, I like Coach K and everything that they've done, but I know.

• 14:18Speaker 03

  Pick against him.

• 14:19Speaker 01

It's just, it's a little bit too much, like, it's just a little too preppy.

• 14:22Speaker 03

  Michigan State.

• 14:24Speaker 01

  Yep.

• 14:25Speaker 03

  Okay, alright.

• 14:25Speaker 01

  Alrighty. Arizona for sure.

• 14:31Speaker 01

  Knowing nothing for sure.

• 14:32Speaker 03

  Knowing nothing Arizona for sure.

• 14:35Speaker 01

  And then um.

• 14:37Speaker 03

One more out of the Midwest. Some landmines in this one though.

• 14:41Speaker 01

I should not have gotten rid of Michigan right from the get go. Why it really fucked me up by picking Howard over Michigan.

• 14:47Speaker 03

Blame the child, blame the child.

• 14:51Speaker 03

I like it though. I like it. It's aggressive. It's hard to win.

• 14:55Speaker 01

By the way, what is the mascot for Akron? It's a zip. I know that, but is that a bunny?

• 14:59Speaker 03

  It's a kangaroo.

• 15:00Speaker 01

Kangaroo. That's what it was. Fuck. Knew it was something that happened. Alright. Keep going down.

• 15:09Speaker 01

I guess I'll go Iowa State.

• 15:10Speaker 03

  Yeah.

• 15:14Speaker 01

Nice toughness there in the middle of the country.

• 15:19Speaker 03

  Here we go.

• 15:19Speaker 01

  Alright, there's our final four.

• 15:22Speaker 03

  Perfect. Travis, what you got?

• 15:23Travis Kelce?

Oh, I guess I'll go Duke, Arizona, Alabama. That was the S C T team that I liked. I liked Alabama.

• 15:33Speaker 01

There's the one sneaking through. Okay.

• 15:35Travis Kelce?

Yeah. And then um, and then I'm going uh.

• 15:41Travis Kelce?

Gosh, I mean, it's just gonna be, it's gonna be Florida. Illinois. I'll go Illinois. I'll go Illinois sneaking through. Make it interesting.

• 15:48Speaker 01

Well, there you have it. There's our final four. Trav, should there be a punishment for the New Heights member that finishes last?

• 15:54Travis Kelce?

  Last?

• 15:54Speaker 01

By New Heights member, anybody in the staff. I kinda like this.

• 15:58Travis Kelce?

  God damn.

• 15:58Speaker 01

  Punishment for last place.

• 16:00Travis Kelce?

  What do you like?

• 16:01Speaker 01

If we are doing this, I'm definitely not picking Howard to beat.

• 16:06Speaker 01

I like this idea. What is a sufficient last place bet? Hot sauce?

• 16:12Travis Kelce?

Alright, I could do hot sauce.

• 16:14Speaker 01

Magdog 357, like platinum or something like that. It's like 6 million Scoville units. You just take like a toothpick of that and dip it on your tongue.

• 16:23Speaker 01

  It'll get you.

• 16:24Travis Kelce?

Yeah, well, um, I once did the Pocky one chip challenge. That wasn't fun. I would say, I would say, yeah, whoever, whoever comes in dead last has to eat a whole wing dipped in that hot sauce.

• 16:38Speaker 01

I don't know that we want to go there. I was just gonna do a toothpick on the tongue. You want a whole wing like, I don't do that's.

• 16:45Travis Kelce?

I don't want to do it. No, this is, that's what happens when you come in last.

• 16:48Speaker 01

I mean, are we all game for this? I also own a hot sauce company called Hank Sauce. I don't know. I should be promoting another.

• 16:55Travis Kelce?

Well, let's do Hank Sauce then.

• 16:56Speaker 01

  Company.

• 16:56Travis Kelce?

Yeah, all right. Let's do Hank Sauce then.

• 16:58Speaker 01

But that's going to be enjoyable. That's not a punishment. You need to have something that punishes you. It needs to be too hot. Like, that's not what Hank Sauce is. That's what Mad Dog 357 will freaking, I mean, it's designed to basically, you put a drop of that in chili and it's going to like explode it.

• 17:15Travis Kelce?

Well, I'm not eating chili. So, yeah, all right. You can, you can make the bet then.

• 17:21Speaker 01

Does anybody want to weigh in on this? Is this a sufficient?

• 17:23Speaker 03

I mean, we have a lot of commenters, I think, probably could couple with really fucked up stuff for somebody. I think we toss it over there.

• 17:29Speaker 01

Okay, we leave it up to, okay, fair enough. We look forward to seeing what all of you 19%ers come up with as the, uh, the loser's punishment.

• 17:39Travis Kelce?

  Yeah.

• 17:40Speaker 01

All right. We're gonna send out the link to the men's and women's brackets, uh, one more time before they close on Thursday and Friday, obviously, because that's when the games start playing. Um, again, shout out to our friends at Reese's.

• 17:50Travis Kelce?

  Yeah, baby.

• 17:51Speaker 01

  I mean, Reese's. Sorry, Reese's.

• 17:56Travis Kelce?

Let's get to our conversation with Ryan Gosling.

• 18:00Speaker 01

Our guest today is a 6'1" actor from London, Ontario, Canada. He's a three-time Academy Award nominee.

• 18:08Speaker 00

  I've never been height checked.

• 18:09Speaker 01

A Golden Globe winner, a four-time host of Saturday Night Live. You know him from the iconic roles of Remember the Titans, The Notebook, Blue Valentine Drive, The Nice Guys, Crazy Stupid Love, La La Land, Blade Runner, Barbie, and now Project Hail Mary. 19%ers, he's more than just Ken. Please welcome Mr. Ryan Gosling.

• 18:29Speaker 01

There we go. There we go.

• 18:30Speaker 00

Oh, my God, he said 6'1". That was amazing.

• 18:33Speaker 01

Hey, we, we do our research here. We do our research here.

• 18:36Speaker 00

You had to call out Remember the Titans too, man. Don't never forget that I'm a liability.

• 18:42Travis Kelce?

  White corner.

• 18:43Speaker 00

At the corner, I'm a liability.

• 18:45Speaker 01

That role, that in particular scene in the movie is the thing that I see calling out the most. How much do you get that constantly?

• 18:53Speaker 00

It doesn't matter what I accomplish in my life, there'll be someone in the comment section that says, never forget, he's an absolute liability at the corner.

• 19:05Speaker 00

It doesn't matter what I do.

• 19:06Travis Kelce?

  That's crazy.

• 19:07Speaker 01

One of the greatest actors of our generation, three time Academy Award winner.

• 19:12Speaker 00

He's a liability at the corner.

• 19:13Speaker 01

  Can't play corner though.

• 19:15Travis Kelce?

  Get Petey in there.

• 19:18Speaker 00

  Get Petey in there ASAP.

• 19:21Speaker 01

Dude, I'll tell you what, you're not a liability in this new movie. I'm not like, listen, we do a lot of these, I don't know how the hell, how the fuck we're getting guys like you to come on our show. This movie is fucking awesome.

• 19:33Travis Kelce?

  It's awesome.

• 19:33Speaker 01

Like it is, it is so great. You kill it. You're this somehow like unbelievable biologist, but also this down to earth, very relatable person who's hilarious, heartfelt. I mean, it, it tugs on so many of the right chords, especially with everything happening in this fucking world right now. But, uh, you, Rocky, the whole thing, man. It's so good. Congratulations.

• 19:57Speaker 00

  Thank you, man.

• 19:58Travis Kelce?

How are we feeling about it compared to everything that you've already done? Yeah.

• 20:01Speaker 00

  I feel like, uh,

• 20:04Speaker 00

yeah, really lucky, um, to have made this movie because, you know, it came at a time like Andy, first of all, like, you're right, it is a great story and it is, these are great characters and like, and I've removed myself from that because the reality is it was an incredible book before it was a film, right? And Andy Weir, you know, wrote this book that has become considered one of the best science fiction books of all time. Some people, you know, many people say it's like one of the best books they've ever read. So we were already hitting the ground running, you know? I mean, you, it's not often, I've never been a part of a film where I kind of knew people were gonna like it

• 20:46Speaker 00

because this book had already been stress tested, right? Like we already knew these are great characters. We already knew this was a great story. I mean, there's a pressure to that for sure.

• 20:55Speaker 01

I was about to say, man, there's, there's great books all the time that people fuck up in movies, unfortunately.

• 21:00Speaker 00

Well, because they change them. Because they change him, right? We were, I, I, I produced this film and I, I just knew that the best thing I could do as a producer was just stay close to the material, have Andy on set as much as possible, run everything by him. He has such a cool perspective, certainly in science fiction, but I think just in general right now, because he believes in people. He believes in like what we're capable of. He believes that we're capable of great things and it's not like unearned optimism. It's not just optimism for the sake of it. You know, he reminds you in his work that like all the great innovations in human history started as impossible ideas and human beings made them possible, you know?

• 21:44Speaker 00

And that we, we, we make the impossible possible all the time. It's kind of like our thing and that's such a unique thing to celebrate, you know? Oddly enough, right? It's like we're so inundated with like apocalyptic scenarios that it feels like they're inevitable, that, that, that it's, it's so bleak, the future. And then he, he like writes this book that says, no, maybe the future isn't something to be afraid of. Maybe it's just something to figure out. And being a dad, you know, having two young kids and I feel like everything is just designed to scare them. I was so grateful just as a, as a father to, to, to get to make a story for my kids.

• 22:26Speaker 00

Maybe not to be too lofty, but like for their generation, that kind of reminds you of what we're capable of as human beings. And doesn't pretend that there's not going to be problems, but that we can solve them, you know? And anyway, he's a unique writer in that way. I think that's why people love this book so much. And yeah, so to, to get to spend the last almost six years now, being around that and, and, and thinking that way and surrounding myself with people like that has been a real, yeah, just, I don't know how to say it, just a gift, you know? That's awesome.

• 23:01Speaker 01

I love everything you just said, I really do. And it comes through in the film. Um, it, it really does the optimism and the, the resilience and the persistence to figure things out. And this endless, I don't know, man, it's. It's so well done. You know a movie's good when like you're experiencing every emotion while you're watching it, right? Like you're, you're laughing, you're crying, you're the height of happy, the, the lowest of like, man, this sucks. Like that's when you're really involved in it.

• 23:30Speaker 00

Yeah. You even in this, I think, do the laugh cry, which is really hard to get.

• 23:36Speaker 00

You know, like you're laughing, you're crying, you're laughing, and then you go like, oh, fuck it. I'm just gonna laugh and cry because I'll just get them both out at once. But these directors are really, they're so unique in that regard. Like I, I don't know if you've seen their other films, but they did like 21 Jump Street and the Lego film and Cloudy with the Chance of Meatballs and the Spider verse. It's like, everything is so much better than it should be. They have this unique ability to kind of sneak up on you and make you feel all the things and they're so funny. So for me, it was like, it had to be them, you know? And this is just such a perfect marriage of material and directors. You know, like they are just, it just had to be them.

• 24:17Travis Kelce?

When you were reading the book, did you see it as more like there was some comedy in it? I don't know. I can't imagine the book having this much like fun that it seems like you were having throughout the movie, though.

• 24:27Speaker 00

Yeah. Andy Weir does write, he understands that like, well, first of all, he's like a former engineer. He is as brilliant as this character.

• 24:36Travis Kelce?

  Oh, wow.

• 24:37Speaker 00

And so he, the science, the science is very important to him, that it be accurate. Even like, it's funny, he said, I knew I was different when I was watching Titanic. And when Jack and, when Jack is dying, I looked up at the constellations above them in the water and I said, those aren't the constellations that would be there.

• 24:58Speaker 01

  That's different. That's different.

• 24:59Speaker 00

You know, he was like, that that bothered me and I knew no one else was thinking that I thought I'm different. So he like, it's, it's so dense. The, the, the science, it's so scientifically grounded. That he understands that it has to be funny, otherwise, you know, it's just not gonna work. You know, no, no one's gonna be able to stick with it. So he did create a lot of humor throughout it. And then we just got a lot of funny people on board, you know, Chris and Phil are so, you know, they're just, everybody had a, was funny. And so everyone added their funny. And so it became, I think funnier, but it was already there, I think in the DNA.

• 25:38Travis Kelce?

That's awesome, man. You gotta, you gotta help me figure out some of this magic that was shot. So the whole time you're talking to Rocky, we're not giving away too much by saying Rocky, right?

• 25:48Speaker 00

No, we should talk, it's funny. It's like when we first came out with it, people were, didn't want us to talk about Rocky. But it's like, it's like pretending ET is about a kid whose parents got divorced.

• 26:03Speaker 00

You know, it's about an alien. We gotta talk about it. So please feel free.

• 26:09Travis Kelce?

All right, cool. So, so during these scenes, are you having a conversation with yourself the whole time? Like, what's the difficulty in not really being in a scene with somebody else?

• 26:17Speaker 00

So this was, this was what I think is the magic of the movie is that he was there. We went, we went puppet.

• 26:24Travis Kelce?

  Oh, wow.

• 26:25Speaker 00

We didn't go CGI. We went full puppet.

• 26:29Speaker 01

Well, he's, he's in the room with you.

• 26:31Speaker 00

He's there. And not only is he there, he's got five puppeteers, each operating one of his arms.

• 26:37Travis Kelce?

  Stop it!

• 26:40Speaker 00

They're dressed like ninjas. Guys, they're dressed like ninjas. They're all black, just their eyes. Like, that's not distracting at all. You know, his name's Rocky. They call themselves the Rocketeers. He rolls in with an entourage. It's like-

• 26:55Travis Kelce?

  That is so good.

• 26:57Speaker 00

And, but James Ortiz is basically the, the lead puppeteer. And it would have been so much easier had we gone CGI, you know, but there would be no magic, right? Because he's there in the room. I can talk to him. He's moving around. We end up, we can improvise, we can take the scene in different directions. It's real. I mean, there were times that I felt like I had like an alien friend, you know, because it was so like the the artistry in which they do what they do made it so real. So I think you feel it, you know, I think in the movie, it's like it actually it is a relationship. It's not like what you're used to seeing because everything is so like effects driven now.

• 27:41Travis Kelce?

Yeah, no, it's awesome. I mean, it makes you feel like Rocky's all of our friends in a in a sense. It's I mean, it just blows my mind.

• 27:48Speaker 01

How's it feel to be a to be a supporting actor in Rocky's film? I mean, really, that's Rocky stole the show.

• 27:55Speaker 00

To a faceless rock. What's funny is that he's real like he's he's been like they've been having him come to some of these junkets.

• 28:04Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 28:04Speaker 00

So they're like, they'll tell me like, oh, Rocky's here in the hotel. He's in the he was at the presidential suite. At one of these hotels we stayed at recently with 24 hour security.

• 28:13Travis Kelce?

  He's living like a king.

• 28:15Speaker 00

  This dude's changed, man.

• 28:19Speaker 00

This dude has changed. He doesn't text. He's not like, I'm in town. What's up? Nothing.

• 28:24Speaker 01

Dude, I was sitting on the couch, uh, watching this and um, my kids are watching like uh, something else on Disney or whatever. And they're like, what are you watching, Dad? I'm like, watch this movie. Like, oh, can we watch it? Like, I don't know. And all of a sudden Rocky comes in and they are like glued from that moment. And I'm like, dude, this is how you know this is a good like if you're distracting from a cartoon over here. That's like pixelated and geared to get their like retina and attention span and all that other stuff happening. They were locked in. I mean, they loved Rocky, like could not get enough Rocky. So it's it it it really works for anybody. I mean, the film is it's it's awesome, man.

• 29:05Speaker 00

It's cool because, you know, I think like Andy really put a lot of thought into what, you know, there's no it's not the trick of like, he doesn't have big eyes. He's not cute in a traditional sense, right? He's got no face. He's got five arms. He's made out of rock. He doesn't speak like, you know, he has his own kind of sounds that he makes. It's like, it's so hard to connect to him. I mean, I think the challenge of the movie was a bit like, will people connect to this faceless? Rock, you know, without any, using any of the kind of tricks that we would normally use. But the beauty is that you end up, you, you kind of can't imagine you're going to be crying over this faceless rock at the end of a film. But that's like the magic trick of the movie is like when it's over, people are like, Rocky.

• 29:48Speaker 00

You want to like die for him. It's cool.

• 29:55Travis Kelce?

So do we believe in aliens now? Do you want to go space?

• 29:57Speaker 01

  There we go.

• 29:58Speaker 00

I have no interest in going to space. Do you?

• 29:59Travis Kelce?

I do. I want to go.

• 30:01Speaker 01

I have no idea what just Travis does.

• 30:04Travis Kelce?

I want to go. The moon, I guess is the closest thing.

• 30:07Speaker 00

  Okay.

• 30:08Travis Kelce?

Yeah, I'll go there. I don't want to get too far away that I miss too much time. Just there and back, just a quick shuttle. Right?

• 30:14Speaker 00

Yeah. Yeah, I don't want to go. I want to pretend to go.

• 30:18Speaker 01

You didn't want to go in the movie either. We found that out.

• 30:21Speaker 00

  That I related to.

• 30:22Speaker 01

A crazy shoe drop right there.

• 30:25Speaker 00

But I do think it's fun to talk about, like that we're in a period of time where we're not really saying like, it feels like the conversation has shifted away from are there aliens to more like, where are they and when are we going to see them?

• 30:38Speaker 01

Yeah. For sure. Yeah, the question growing up was definitely the, the other version of like, are there aliens out there? Now it's like, oh no, there's definitely aliens out there. Just have they, are they with us right now is the conversation, right?

• 30:49Speaker 00

Yeah, I don't think that they're like crashing.

• 30:52Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 30:53Speaker 00

You know, like this idea that they, they're like coming to earth and then they're like, what, like they, they're losing the brakes, like, what happens like, oh no, the brakes, like they're not, I don't think they're crashing. That's my only, that's all I know.

• 31:07Speaker 01

If they're technologically advanced to get here, they're probably.

• 31:10Speaker 00

They're not losing brakes for it on the way in or whatever the hell happens.

• 31:14Speaker 01

  Oh God, that's good.

• 31:15Speaker 00

But I do think Andy put this, like all this thought into this idea of like, okay, so maybe they don't come to us, you got to go to them. Maybe, um, you know, like this, all this stuff, like he, he exists in his own atmosphere, right? So you can't even like really be in the same place with him. He has to make this kind of ball to be in. He wouldn't speak the same language. He wouldn't have the same kind of features that we have. Like, it's a pretty, like, credible stab at what that might be like, you know?

• 31:44Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 31:45Speaker 00

It's done in an entertaining way, but it does feel like it's very scientifically grounded in a way that I don't, I don't, I've never really read or seen before.

• 31:54Speaker 01

Yeah, I do remember, uh, I, I listened to Neil deGrasse Tyson talk about stuff a lot. And one of the things he's often said about sci-fi films is the lack of creativity in outer space and extraterrestrials. Like, they're always like bipedal and like, they just have weird eyes, but they still have hands. And it's like, no, no, no, this thing probably is going to be unlike anything you've ever seen. And you guys accomplish that perfectly. I mean, with every facet of it, right? Like, the astrophase, what, the astrophases?

• 32:24Speaker 00

  Exactly. Yeah, yeah, yeah.

• 32:26Travis Kelce?

  Okay, Jason?

• 32:27Speaker 00

  Yeah, man.

• 32:28Travis Kelce?

  Okay, dude.

• 32:29Speaker 00

  Just casually dropping astrophase.

• 32:34Speaker 00

He watched the movie. He watched.

• 32:36Travis Kelce?

We get it. We get it. Let me ask you another silly one. I love asking dumb questions. Um, if you had to show an alien one movie, which one would you show him? It could be any movie in the world.

• 32:49Speaker 00

So his name was Rocky, right? And then I realized, you know, we were making this film with MGM. And I was like, wait, you guys have all the rights to all the Rockies, right? And, and the Creeds? And they were like, yeah, of course. And I was like, well, I have to show him all of those. So we watched all the Rockies. We watched all the Creeds. And I, I think that's a good choice. I think, I think showing an alien Rocky is not a bad way to go.

• 33:15Travis Kelce?

  Which Rocky's your favorite?

• 33:16Speaker 00

The first one, just for the whole, look, you know, he, I mean, you know this story, but like, he had to sell his dog.

• 33:22Speaker 01

  It's an interesting.

• 33:23Speaker 00

  Do you know that?

• 33:24Speaker 01

I don't even, I've seen it so many times, I forgot.

• 33:27Speaker 00

Stallone had to sell his dog to get this movie made. And then when he made the money back from the script.

• 33:35Speaker 01

Oh, you're talking about in real life?

• 33:37Speaker 00

In real life, he sold his dog.

• 33:39Speaker 01

  What?

• 33:39Travis Kelce?

  What?

• 33:41Speaker 01

Did you give him that much money for a dog? God, we gotta see what Patty's worth. No, I'm sorry, good.

• 33:46Speaker 00

He, he sells his dog, then when he sells the script, he buys his dog back and that's the dog in the movie.

• 33:53Speaker 01

  That's sick.

• 33:54Travis Kelce?

  Stop it.

• 33:55Speaker 00

The levels to which what was going on for Stallone, it seems in his life and, and the story of what was happening for Rocky are so closely linked. You know, that there's like a meta-ness to the first one.

• 34:08Speaker 01

  That's a great point.

• 34:08Speaker 00

That's hard to, to beat. But I like the Dolph Lundgren one. That one's amazing. The training sequence there, like the futurist, him with the, you know, like out in the.

• 34:20Speaker 01

  He's got the log.

• 34:21Speaker 00

With the log in the snow.

• 34:22Speaker 01

Yeah, four is just like a guilty, just like so. It's like you're eating the most luxurious chocolate cake of patriotism and like masculinity you can indulge in. And, but yeah, one is, I, I do find myself.

• 34:39Speaker 00

The speech he gives in Balboa to his son on the street is also, I mean, when does that not work if you need it?

• 34:46Speaker 01

  You're right, you're right.

• 34:47Travis Kelce?

Everyone in Philadelphia still uses that speech every day of their lives.

• 34:51Speaker 01

I mean, I'm getting goosebumps even just thinking about that speech.

• 34:53Speaker 00

  What about over the top?

• 34:55Speaker 01

Little trucker arm wrestling action? Yeah, baby.

• 34:57Speaker 00

Because sometimes in life you gotta turn the hat around.

• 35:02Speaker 00

Sometimes you, there you go. Sometimes you just gotta turn the hat around, guys.

• 35:10Travis Kelce?

  So good.

• 35:11Speaker 01

That movie, talk about ridiculous, but still a guilty pleasure.

• 35:14Speaker 00

That'll make me cry. The whole, the way, the way he is with his son, those pep talks he gives him.

• 35:19Speaker 01

  Yeah, that'll get you going.

• 35:20Speaker 00

He's the greatest, like pep talk. That thing with Creed where he says to him in the mirror, that's your worst, that's your worst enemy or your like greatest opponent or something. I mean, he's just, Stallone.

• 35:30Travis Kelce?

He's that bad. He still does it in Tulsa King too. I've been, I've been stuck on that fucking show. I love it.

• 35:35Speaker 01

  There we go.

• 35:36Travis Kelce?

What's the next, big guy? Are we, are we sticking in the sci-fi? Are we like Star Wars movies next? Uh, how do we get right? Is there another, is there a sequel to this? Are we already thinking how we're gonna do this?

• 35:47Speaker 00

I'm hoping Andy has an idea because I would love that. Holy smokes. Just finished a Star Wars, a Star Wars film, which will come out next year. What? Really? Oh shit. Hell yeah.

• 35:59Speaker 01

Are you able to give us any information on that? Like what's?

• 36:02Speaker 00

It's not part of the, the, the timeline of the other Star Wars films. It takes place in its own timeline and it's all original characters and it's directed by Sean Levy. Uh, who did, um, Deadpool Wolverine most recently. Um, but he also, you know, The Stranger, Stranger Things and just so many things, The Night at the Museums. He's such a perfect director for this. He just completely got the tone. And, um, yeah, it was crazy. It was crazy to, to be working on a Star Wars film. That's so awesome. Are you guys Star Wars fans?

• 36:42Speaker 01

I love it. I mean, I wouldn't say like we're as plugged into like the very minor like minutia. But yeah, very big fans.

• 36:51Speaker 00

Yeah, same. It's like, I didn't really, like, I didn't see it until I was older, but I had Star Wars sheets. You know? Oh yeah, definitely. I had everything Star Wars. Yeah. Yeah, like I, it was always around, even if I hadn't seen it. It was just such a, it's like the Beatles. It's like always been there, you know?

• 37:08Speaker 01

  Correct.

• 37:08Speaker 00

And you don't realize how much a part of you it is, how it defined your idea of what's a hero? What's a villain? What's a, what's score? You know, what is font? What is, uh, what's a sound effect? You know, on all the levels, it just is so permeated like my sensibilities as a, as a, as a person who, who, who likes film. I didn't know until I got there just how deep it went, you know? So that was, that was interesting.

• 37:35Speaker 01

Well, you just said good and evil. Are we a part of the empire? Are we Jedi? Like what are we in this film?

• 37:41Speaker 00

  Problem with the reception. It's.

• 37:47Speaker 01

  Fair enough, fair enough.

• 37:51Speaker 00

Life saver that's just gonna come in and just said too much.

• 37:55Speaker 01

All right, we're gonna get to this section. We gotta ask.

• 37:58Speaker 00

  Okay.

• 37:58Speaker 01

All right. Your co-star in Blade Runner, Harrison Ford, was on Jimmy Kimmel and was asked if he has had sex while playing soundtracks from his films. And his answer was, of course I have. It's a dumb question. Ryan, we have the same question to you, I guess. Is that?

• 38:14Speaker 00

No, that's a hard no. That's an easy, easy no.

• 38:19Speaker 01

Surprising, yes, of course, from Harrison, I guess.

• 38:22Speaker 00

But of course Harrison has. I always say, I always say like, never meet your heroes unless they're Harrison Ford.

• 38:31Speaker 00

He's as cool as you want him to be.

• 38:35Speaker 01

  That's awesome.

• 38:36Speaker 00

He punched me one time in a scene, and then when they brought me ice for my face, he took the ice away. Out of my hand and he put his, he put his fist in it and he said, I forgive you.

• 38:51Speaker 00

And then when they brought me Advil, I was like, went to take two Advil and he took the whole thing and he just went like, and he housed like fifteen of them.

• 39:00Travis Kelce?

You can't do that. You can't do that.

• 39:03Speaker 00

  He's not like us.

• 39:05Travis Kelce?

Oh my God, I love this dude.

• 39:07Speaker 00

He could just house half a bottle of Advil as a joke.

• 39:11Speaker 01

  Doesn't care.

• 39:12Speaker 00

He's just, dude, when he, you know, in, in, you know, I think it's Raiders, you know, when he's riding and his hat kept coming off? When he's riding the horse, he stapled it to his head.

• 39:27Speaker 01

  Just, this guy's insane.

• 39:29Speaker 00

They were trying to tape it and he said, forget it. Give me a stapler. And he stapled it to his head.

• 39:37Speaker 01

Is this like a well-known thing about Harrison Ford that he's just a lunatic?

• 39:40Speaker 00

  He's not like us.

• 39:42Travis Kelce?

He's one of those aliens among us, man.

• 39:44Speaker 00

  He's that guy.

• 39:45Travis Kelce?

  That is fucking hilarious.

• 39:47Speaker 00

That line where she says, Princess Leia says, I love you. And he goes, I know. That's him. He said that.

• 39:55Speaker 00

That's him. He's the real deal.

• 39:57Travis Kelce?

  Oh, what a legend, man.

• 39:59Speaker 01

  Holy cow.

• 40:01Travis Kelce?

Is it true you were suspended from first grade because you brought steak knives and started throwing them at kids on at recess?

• 40:08Speaker 00

  I didn't throw them at kids. I might have thrown near them. I, I, I think I,

• 40:14Speaker 00

I might have just been doing them in the ground. But yeah, I did get in a bit of trouble for that.

• 40:18Travis Kelce?

  Nice, man.

• 40:19Speaker 01

Well, you're, you're speaking to two other, I was expelled from preschool for stabbing a kid with a spork.

• 40:24Travis Kelce?

  What?

• 40:25Speaker 01

  I did. Yeah, yeah.

• 40:26Speaker 00

If you're gonna do it with something, a spork is.

• 40:28Speaker 01

Well, and it was also, it was a retaliatory stab.

• 40:31Speaker 00

  Right.

• 40:31Speaker 01

It wasn't like, I was just like, you know, psycho in this and just stabbing random kids.

• 40:43Speaker 00

And the dullness of it would just really, we just heard it in a different way, which is like, more like psychological.

• 40:49Travis Kelce?

Oh, yeah. No, it broke skin. It broke skin. I saw it. I saw it. It broke skin.

• 40:54Speaker 01

Yeah, it was not good. Not good. Anyways, how do you feel about being the unofficial face of Taco Bell inflation?

• 41:00Speaker 00

Um, this is the first I'm hearing it. What is this?

• 41:05Speaker 01

The beefy five layer burrito, eighty nine cents.

• 41:10Speaker 01

And the beefy five layer burrito now, five dollars and thirty six cents.

• 41:14Speaker 00

I'm not getting a dime for this. I'm not even getting, I'm not even getting for burritos for this.

• 41:23Speaker 00

Oh, my God. Is that real?

• 41:26Speaker 01

I, I would assume so. I mean, it's real on the internet.

• 41:29Speaker 00

  Oh, my God.

• 41:30Speaker 01

  I guess it's real now.

• 41:31Speaker 00

  The internet is undefeated, man.

• 41:33Travis Kelce?

  Undefeated, dude.

• 41:35Speaker 00

Internet's gonna internet. That's one thing you can count on.

• 41:38Speaker 01

No doubt. What is your Taco Bell favorite? I mean, I don't want to keep giving Taco Bell.

• 41:44Speaker 01

Bad space. Yeah, but I don't know. I'm more of a cheesy gordita crunch guy myself. All right. What, do you have a welcome to Hollywood moment?

• 41:52Speaker 00

Oh, like what? Like, like, what do you mean?

• 41:55Speaker 01

It could be good or bad, or like something where you're just like, oh, this is Hollywood.

• 41:59Speaker 00

  Right.

• 41:59Speaker 01

Where it just dawned on you. I mean, you were, it's hard, I guess, because you were in it so young.

• 42:03Speaker 00

I had a moment, um. At like a, a party where I did, I like was trying to sneak in and out like just to not, you know, whatever, I, whatever. I went in through the kitchen.

• 42:17Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 42:17Speaker 00

And I saw Stallone. He was hiding in the kitchen too. And I got to talk to him for, for like.

• 42:23Speaker 01

He was hiding in the kitchen too?

• 42:24Speaker 00

Yes. And you know, he had just been such an inspiration to me in so many ways, you know? And like, I got to, yeah, talk to him in the kitchen of this party. It just felt like such a like, a pretty Hollywood moment, you know? But he didn't disappoint either. He gave me great advice and he was like, yeah, he was, he was just how like, that went down how you would hope that it would. What's your Hollywood moment?

• 42:48Speaker 01

Oh yeah, I'm still, I ain't got a Hollywood moment yet. We got NFL moments. Travis might have a Hollywood moment.

• 42:52Travis Kelce?

The closest thing to Hollywood moment for me was, uh, I was doing SNL and I was already like, I have no fucking business doing, being the host of SNL. And as I'm doing, as I'm doing the table reads, which I can't read at all. So I am like already nervous as hell just to try and get through the reads, let alone having all these writers come up to me, trying to get me to really nail that punchline. I'm sitting here like stuttering through everything.

• 43:20Speaker 00

Same, by the way. You're not alone.

• 43:22Travis Kelce?

Will Ferrell just comes kinda coasting through and I just like freeze in the middle of my read. I'm like, full circle moment of like being at SNL. I've only like watched SNL because of guys like Farley and, and Will Ferrell and Sandler and those guys. So it's like to feel that man coming, come walking through and, uh, and see me struggling trying to read a script. It was like a full fucking, it was a clusterfuck. And in my head, I was just like, what is life?

• 43:53Speaker 00

  He's the best, man.

• 43:54Travis Kelce?

  Just absolute best.

• 43:55Speaker 00

Another one that I had too is when I went involving him was like, I, when I first moved to Hollywood, I went to see a, the taping of a talk show. And one of the guests was late or something. So they had us like sit on the floor and then they were like throwing three musketeers at us like to feed us. It was just awful the way they were treating, treating everyone. And we were all like this. Sucks like, you know, it was not the experience we wanted. And then we showed up and we sat in the audience and you know, like telling us when to laugh and everything felt pretty like rehearsed and it just wasn't like aligning with your, what you wanted it to be. And suddenly, this was before Will Ferrell was known, but he started like pretending he was lost on the set. So he would like show up behind

• 44:39Speaker 00

the, the host and then like move along and then get lost. And we were all like, he was crashing this person's interview.

• 44:50Speaker 00

And it was so funny and it kind of, it just made the whole experience for us, you know, we were like, this sucked until he showed up and now everything's better.

• 44:58Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 44:59Speaker 00

He's always like that. Like, I'm not surprised to hear you were having a hard time and then Will Ferrell showed up and suddenly things got better, you know?

• 45:06Travis Kelce?

It's so crazy. Let me ask you this before we get out of here. I know we usually end on the, the, uh, the Hollywood moment question, but you were obviously in Hollywood at a young age and a lot of what you were doing was music. Have you ever thought about like kind of venturing or like getting back into the music side of things or having more of a career in that?

• 45:27Speaker 00

I feel like it's, it's been cool to be able to do it in, in some films, you know, to find a way to explore that. I mean, I kind of got in here. My uncle was an Elvis impersonator. And so it's how I, I I came home one day when I was eight and my uncle was bedazzling a white jumpsuit in the living room. And I was like, what are you doing? He was like, I'm gonna be Elvis for a little while.

• 45:53Speaker 00

  Okay.

• 45:54Speaker 01

  It's a hell of a statement.

• 45:55Speaker 00

So he became Elvis. He was like doing karate in the backyard and talking like Elvis and wearing the outfit in the house. And he, he was showing me how to like method act. Basically.

• 46:05Speaker 01

So not even at like birthday parties or events. He was just doing this. He was just Elvis.

• 46:11Speaker 00

He was just gonna be Elvis for a little while, full time.

• 46:16Travis Kelce?

  This is so good, man.

• 46:19Speaker 00

But then he put us all in the act. So he said to me, you're gonna be my head of security. I'm eight.

• 46:28Travis Kelce?

  This is so good.

• 46:30Speaker 00

He got me like a gold LeMay jacket that said head of security. And like, I was serious. I was like, okay, that's my job. And then he would perform at the mall. And, you know, like, it just, it kind of changed everybody's life, right? Like, we all felt like we were hanging out with Elvis. We felt like we had seen Elvis. The whole town was like, came alive. People were singing and dancing and they had their talents. It was this amazing impact that he had. And then he decided not to do it anymore and everything got real boring again. But my sister and I were like, can we do that again?

• 47:03Travis Kelce?

Yeah, we need, I want to keep going on that, yeah.

• 47:05Speaker 00

We kind of liked you better as Elvis. My sister and I started singing at weddings. You know, that's where the music thing kind of started. It just felt like a way to stay in that vibe, you know, to keep, to keep not go back to normal life, to just keep going with the circus, you know? So then music became a thing that I was doing, you know, just as a way to stay, to keep things from becoming normal, you know? And again, and then, you know, I found acting and then I found filmmaking. And so it kind of was the thing to get me there. But, uh, anyway.

• 47:38Travis Kelce?
