• 0:00Chris Williamson?

It's episode 100. If you were to give your student self a life hack, what would it be? Evernote? And then you wouldn't have lost your journal of like a decade?

• 0:10Speaker 01

Oh, yeah. So I, I'd wrote a journal, a daily journal for a decade. And then one day my Microsoft Word file corrupted.

• 0:17Chris Williamson?

  And what did you do?

• 0:18Speaker 01

  Well.

• 0:21Speaker 01

That's the end of my journaling then.

• 0:22Chris Williamson?

Almost all of the problems in my life can be fixed by a 10 minute walk, a good night's sleep, a glass of water or a wank.

• 0:31Speaker 01

Seriously, this is exactly what I was gonna say.

• 0:33Chris Williamson?

  Really?

• 0:34Speaker 01

  Unbelievable.

• 0:35Chris Williamson?

  So.

• 0:36Speaker 01

  Fuck, I've got nothing.

• 0:36Chris Williamson?

Sorry, man. Who is the coolest person who listens to Modern Wisdom? My mum. My mum listens to Modern Wisdom, I suppose.

• 0:43Speaker 01

  So mansplaining, manspreading.

• 0:45Chris Williamson?

Everything with man in it. Manchester.

• 0:48Jonny?

What personality trait has gotten you in the most trouble?

• 0:52Chris Williamson?

  Trouble?

• 0:58Chris Williamson?

Ladies and gentlemen, welcome back. It's episode 100.

• 1:05Chris Williamson?

We've done 100 episodes of Modern Wisdom.

• 1:07Speaker 01

  Eee. Really well.

• 1:10Chris Williamson?

  You shit the bed.

• 1:12Speaker 01

  Doesn't feel like it.

• 1:13Chris Williamson?

  I know.

• 1:14Speaker 01

It's because you've just suddenly gone.

• 1:16Chris Williamson?

Twice a week, yeah, yeah, I know. But anyway, thank you very much to everyone who's tuned in over the last 100 episodes.

• 1:24Jonny?

Do you remember the day we did the first podcast with you and we had the preamble of making the coffee? And the coffee was too strong.

• 1:31Speaker 01

  Oh.

• 1:32Chris Williamson?

  That was for propane, right?

• 1:33Jonny?

  Yeah.

• 1:34Chris Williamson?

  Yeah.

• 1:34Jonny?

That was our interview with you and then.

• 1:36Chris Williamson?

  Podcast.

• 1:37Speaker 01

  Just. Crisfit.

• 1:38Jonny?

  Crisfit.

• 1:39Chris Williamson?

Crisfit it was, yeah, exactly. 16 million listen minutes later and we're here.

• 1:42Speaker 01

  Here we are.

• 1:43Chris Williamson?

Uh, so we've got a couple of special treats for you today. We're gonna do Q and A. We asked for questions from people on the internet. Instagram have come up with some pretty good ones. Also, before I started this podcast as the name that it was, we did.

• 2:01Speaker 01

  Here comes the hot potato.

• 2:03Chris Williamson?

We did a pilot episode and originally it was called Minds, Mind and Matter.

• 2:09Chris Williamson?

Bit of a shite name, I know. Mind and Matter, and we did a pilot episode on purpose and meaning. As a part of that, Yusuf told us a story about when his testicle grew to the size of a lemon because he got a hydrocele. And then he tried to pop it in the shower and then he had a number of other complications. And I've been asked a lot, because I keep referencing it, been asked to put this story in. So. You're gonna get to hear it.

• 2:37Speaker 01

  We've got the footage.

• 2:38Chris Williamson?

  Right now.

• 2:39Speaker 01

Fine, I'm gonna give you the full Monty.

• 2:43Speaker 01

This. Are you sitting comfortably? This is a podcast about purpose and we're gonna spend the first five minutes.

• 2:52Speaker 01

Talking about my ball on request. Balls on demand. Balls on demand, bod. Right, so.

• 3:02Speaker 01

One day, I was coming out of the shower, my flatmate saw my ball and said, Yusuf, that's really big. You need to do something about it. I said, no, it's fine. It's always been like that.

• 3:15Speaker 01

Chris is losing water out of his mouth.

• 3:17Chris Williamson?

What was the first, what was the first, like, the first time that you, you're like drying yourself off and you looked in the mirror and you're like, hmm?

• 3:24Speaker 01

It's very gradual and because the male denial of health issues runs so deep. You end up just ignoring. Remembering that you are a doctor.

• 3:35Speaker 01

I am now, I wasn't then. So I was, I was even more averse. And yeah, now it would be very different, I think. I would, would go after like. When it got to half the size rather than the full, full lemon.

• 3:48Chris Williamson?

So you're twice, you're twice as sensitive to lemon ball now.

• 3:50Speaker 01

  Twice, yeah, exactly.

• 3:52Chris Williamson?

Now that you've had a lemon ball, you know what, you know what.

• 3:54Speaker 01

Exactly. So, so the reason it's lemon ball is because it was the size of a lemon. And I'd, throughout that process, it was normal to begin with and it gradually got bigger to, until there was this mismatch. And you end up justifying to yourself like, oh, there's always been a slight difference in size or whatever. And then it has to take someone else to say, no, no, come on.

• 4:11Chris Williamson?

  Yusuf is three times bigger.

• 4:13Speaker 01

No, no, no. So, went to the GP, they have a feel and they tell you, oh, it appears to be quite enlarged. And you're like, yep, yep, I know. I'll just refer you to the radiologist. Radiologist. Get some gel on it, calculates the volume for twenty minutes to tell you that it's big. And you're like, okay, I don't know why you needed to ultrasound that.

• 4:35Jonny?

Ah, it's not, it's not normal, that man.

• 4:36Speaker 01

  Oh, that's, that's a bit big.

• 4:38Jonny?

Got like sonar in the room.

• 4:41Speaker 01

  Very.

• 4:42Jonny?

  Uh, yep, it's enlarged.

• 4:44Speaker 01

Something, if anyone's ever had a ball ultrasound, or if you, if you have one coming up, something that they do is the nurse will come in, tell you to drop your pants to your knees, leave, and then she'll come back and say, oh, I've got this tissue to cover your penis for decency.

• 5:01Speaker 01

Because of course, that's the important thing.

• 5:03Jonny?

How many times did you hear this story? Never heard that. Four or five? There's all, there's little gems that he leaves out. And that's what I'm like, you have to do. Discovered. Don't half-ass it. If you're gonna do it, do it properly.

• 5:14Speaker 01

I'm quite glad that you're happy to hear this again, because I feel like most people get upset.

• 5:18Jonny?

If you released the book, it was just this story, I'd buy it.

• 5:23Speaker 01

So they cover your penis for decency, of course, because you, that's, that's the thing that's top on your mind.

• 5:28Jonny?

Do they like sausage roll it? Or how is it?

• 5:30Speaker 01

No, they just drape. So, so then you're sat there with just testicles exposed.

• 5:36Speaker 01

They, I, I realised like, I'm, I'm trying to do this as like a public relations message to encourage men who have any kind of testicular problems to go out and seek help, but it's probably not really advertising it very well.

• 5:46Jonny?

You essentially, I was the trusty dick up like Casper. Because the tissue as well would have been penis and then ball, ball, right?

• 5:53Speaker 01

  Yep.

• 5:56Jonny?

So like, it, it just really highlights the fact that you have one, one leg.

• 6:00Speaker 01

Exactly. So ultrasound it, passed a few, passed around a few different people, eventually to the urologist. This is the guy who's gonna operate. Big Nigerian man.

• 6:13Speaker 01

Starts examining me and then walks over to the light without explaining what he's doing, turns it off and comes back with a torch. And shines a light through the ball and it lights up like a Christmas light.

• 6:25Speaker 01

He looks really happy and says, you see this? It, it means it's not the cancer. And you're like, oh, great. Okay. So he's, he's really pleased about it. Later on found out that's, that's called a transillumination to check for, uh, for any kind of cancer. So that, that's good news if it lights up.

• 6:42Speaker 01

By this point, it was getting pretty big, like the size of a, like a little steroidal lemon.

• 6:48Jonny?

  Like a mango.

• 6:49Speaker 01

Mango, it was small mango, yeah. And it was, it gets to the point where everything, everything else like rests on it.

• 6:58Speaker 01

When you're standing, it comes out horizontally. Um, and like you couldn't hide it in work trousers. I did a competition in a, in a singlet and obviously setting up for bench, whoever filmed me chose to use the, the angle like straight up towards it and I had to cover down the pipe, I had to cover it up with a text box on the video.

• 7:20Speaker 01

  And, and Johnny.

• 7:21Jonny?

  They just said bench.

• 7:23Speaker 01

I got a message from Johnny the next day saying like, great video, but why is the text box so big? I said, you.

• 7:30Chris Williamson?

It could have been emoji of a lemon.

• 7:33Speaker 01

Yeah, that would have been good.

• 7:35Chris Williamson?

  Matter.

• 7:36Speaker 01

Very much. So at that point, been referred for surgery, watched the procedure on YouTube the night before. And started to get the fear. So I went into the shower and tried to burst it myself. And, and this is where we turned the lemon into a bean. So reshaped the lemon into more of a bean shape.

• 7:56Chris Williamson?

  Through sheer force?

• 7:57Speaker 01

  Through force, yeah.

• 7:58Jonny?

So did you, for that to happen, was it an initial, like a short sharp, like?

• 8:03Chris Williamson?

  No.

• 8:04Jonny?

  Or was it sustained?

• 8:05Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 8:06Jonny?

So you slowly applied the pressure. Was it in that position?

• 8:09Speaker 01

It was, yeah, hands clasped and like interlocked to, to, to get more purchase on it.

• 8:14Chris Williamson?

It's just as well that you're not practised in jiu jitsu.

• 8:17Speaker 01

Be really good at it. So had the surgery.

• 8:20Chris Williamson?

Are you, Johnny, are you trying to think about different ways that you'd be able to squeeze it?

• 8:24Jonny?

I'm thinking how I would do it and then thinking about the amount of pressure.

• 8:27Chris Williamson?

  You've interlaced your fingers.

• 8:28Speaker 01

Well, cause that, I think, so.

• 8:30Chris Williamson?

You've interlaced your fingers. You can't do that.

• 8:34Jonny?

I mean, you could really bear down.

• 8:36Chris Williamson?

You can apply, apply a fair bit of pressure there.

• 8:38Speaker 01

I mean, you're self limited, obviously, like.

• 8:40Jonny?

  Cause it really hurts.

• 8:40Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 8:41Jonny?

But they hit as much as a normal ball.

• 8:44Speaker 01

I think slightly, yeah, it maybe slightly more because there's a lot more pressure around.

• 8:48Chris Williamson?

When you went in, did they say, that's not the shape it was last time?

• 8:51Jonny?

  Was it?

• 8:51Speaker 01

  No.

• 8:52Chris Williamson?

  Why's it been?

• 8:53Speaker 01

They, they didn't notice, but went in for surgery, if you've ever been for surgery as well, they draw a big like, big L or a big R and an arrow pointing to the side that needs operated on, if it's, if they do surgery on anything that has to, so. Kidneys, legs, whatever, yeah. Which does feel silly if you have like a really obvious deformity, but um, anyway, woke up from the surgery. On oxycodone, very powerful opiate that makes you quite delirious and talking nonsense to the nurses. Coming to, the consultant came up and said, okay, so you need to avoid sexual activity for at least a few days. You're like, oh, okay, great, cause.

• 9:38Speaker 01

I was, I was gonna just go home and, and try it out. Um, but I think that that, that was sarcasm, you definitely do not like waking up like in this kind of bloody jockstrap and it's, it's very. Painful and, and bleeding, so, but I, I guess they, they have to tell people that because. People try, um, they, one of the consultants who installed a colostomy bag on someone, which is like a. An anus on the front of your abdomen, basically, like a, a re, rerouting your intestine. Had to advise the patient post operatively not to have sex through the hole. And, and this is clearly because some patient in the past will have tried and complicated things like.

• 10:21Jonny?

I think complicated, I'm really under, underreckoned that. Like if somebody tries to have sex with a small, flashy anus type hole in your, in your side. I imagine.

• 10:34Chris Williamson?

Created by a man with a scalpel.

• 10:36Jonny?

Is that, is it just a little incision?

• 10:38Speaker 01

They, yeah, they just take a bit of bowel and move it up superficially to face.

• 10:43Jonny?

And someone's just reading round in it.

• 10:45Speaker 01

  Terrible.

• 10:46Chris Williamson?

  Terrible, terrible, terrible.

• 10:49Speaker 01

  So that's the story.

• 10:53Jonny?

  Didn't it, there's, there's aftermath, isn't it?

• 10:57Speaker 01

  Uh.

• 10:59Chris Williamson?

Shall we save the aftermath for part two?

• 11:01Speaker 01

Yeah, maybe, because this is already.

• 11:03Chris Williamson?

It can be the chronicles, the chronicles of.

• 11:05Jonny?

  Podball.

• 11:06Chris Williamson?

  Podball, yeah.

• 11:07Jonny?

  Podball, part one.

• 11:09Chris Williamson?

All we've talked about is testicles so far.

• 11:11Speaker 01

Hmm. At the end of the day, the moral of the story is if you have a problem like this, it's only gonna get worse until you seek medical help.

• 11:18Jonny?

So seek medical help with purpose.

• 11:20Speaker 01

Purpose, don't try and pop it yourself, see the GP, don't be embarrassed about it. Um, it's a typical male thing to not do that. Um, I was lucky. It was a lemon ball, but it could be a nasty ball, so. And if it is a nasty ball, that can be fatal. So feel your ball, go see the GP.

• 11:38Chris Williamson?

  And we're back.

• 11:39Jonny?

  Oh.

• 11:41Chris Williamson?

  Oh.

• 11:41Speaker 01

You know, there's, there's a really wholesome message to that story. Which is that men are often afraid to go to the doctor for things out of maybe cult, sociocultural reasons, but that is proof that you shouldn't be ashamed.

• 11:58Chris Williamson?

Squeeze your own testicle, don't try and pop it, just go and see.

• 12:02Speaker 01

Just go and see a professional and they.

• 12:04Chris Williamson?

Thank you, they'll squeeze it for you. They will squeeze it for you. Uh, so I hope you enjoyed that story. It was, it was unbelievable. The rest of that episode, by the way, was total shit. But that ten minute period was.

• 12:14Speaker 01

I thought it was great. We, we prepared loads of notes. It was, it was only bad because of the audio quality and the like tapping and.

• 12:19Chris Williamson?

It's because you get, you get immense FOMO when there's a piece of content that's created and it isn't propagated.

• 12:25Speaker 01

  Hard for that though.

• 12:26Chris Williamson?

It's like life fails that was just lost in the ether.

• 12:28Speaker 01

  Ah.

• 12:29Chris Williamson?

  Yeah.

• 12:29Speaker 01

All that, all the stuff you prepared, all the stories you gave. They're gone, man, forever.

• 12:35Chris Williamson?

They are indeed. But, um, so thank you, massive thank you to everyone who's tuned in, one hundred episodes. Uh, we are sixteen million listen minutes, several thousand subscribers, all that sort of stuff. Um, and we got some cool questions, so we're gonna do some questions. Do you wanna, do you wanna do one of yours first, Johnny?

• 12:52Jonny?

I mean, this is very, um, like, you know, my first question. But, yeah, questions for dummies, no, I don't mean that. Um, do you have any favorite novels? And, well, first, first part of the question.

• 13:05Chris Williamson?

  As well.

• 13:06Jonny?

  Are we doing that?

• 13:07Chris Williamson?

  Can do, yeah.

• 13:07Jonny?

Chris M. Hunt, one, I mean, I've just take the piss out of this question. It's a great question, Chris. Do you have, do you have any favourite novels? And then also, do you see any value in reading for pleasure?

• 13:18Speaker 01

  Hmm.

• 13:20Chris Williamson?

Both of, both of these things have been discussed with Chris Sparks. Spoke to him about this the other day, productivity coach. Uh, because this is episode one hundred and I'm starting to back up. That's almost definitely going to be coming after this. So either in the past or the future. Listen, listen out for me talking about.

• 13:39Jonny?

Well, everything's either in the past or the future.

• 13:40Chris Williamson?

  They are, yeah.

• 13:41Jonny?

  Apart from now, now.

• 13:42Chris Williamson?

  Right now, now, now.

• 13:43Speaker 01

  But not that, but now.

• 13:44Jonny?

  Now.

• 13:46Chris Williamson?

Uh, so nineteen eighty-four, George Orwell, like really good, easy read. Uh, a lot of implications that you can, if you're a bit of a self-development sort of buff, that you can take and, uh, and apply to your own life. Uh, The Alchemist, Paulo Coelho. Great novel, second part.

• 14:01Jonny?

Do you see any value in reading for pleasure?

• 14:03Chris Williamson?

Absolutely, yeah. I think that I've learned nineteen eighty-four taught me a lot more. Um, and a lot of those conclusions have had bigger impact on my life than reading a lot of self-help and productivity books. As Chris Sparks said it, ninety percent of self-help and productivity books are a twenty-page blog post with a hundred and ninety, a hundred and eighty pages of examples.

• 14:29Jonny?

So they've often got like one idea in them as well, like one meaningful concept and then the rest of it's just fluff.

• 14:34Speaker 01

Which is why like book summary services for those kind of books can be really good. But then.

• 14:39Chris Williamson?

You don't have the time and attention, you don't have any context.

• 14:42Jonny?

Well, then the, the one thing holds, holds us meaning.

• 14:46Jonny?

Cause it's like if I said to you, just, just concentrate when you're working. That's deep work, isn't it? Basically.

• 14:50Speaker 01

  The whole thing.

• 14:51Jonny?

It's when you work, it's true.

• 14:52Chris Williamson?

What about you? Novels? I know that you're not a massive.

• 14:54Jonny?

I don't, so I'm starting to do it more. I don't do it very much. I used to read quite a bit for pleasure when I was younger. Um, I read like the Harry Potter books. I read like the Philip Pullman stuff.

• 15:06Speaker 01

  They were good.

• 15:07Jonny?

  Um, yeah.

• 15:08Chris Williamson?

Being worn by Amazon, his dark materials.

• 15:10Jonny?

  Really?

• 15:11Chris Williamson?

Uh, on, sorry, Netflix, bringing out the full thing.

• 15:13Speaker 01

I'm looking forward to that, definitely.

• 15:15Chris Williamson?

  Amazing, man.

• 15:15Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 15:15Chris Williamson?

Cause they absolutely butchered Northern Lights.

• 15:17Speaker 01

It was, there, there was an old film of Northern Lights and it was, yeah, horrendous. So Albert Camus, The Stranger, written by someone whose mum was deaf and he was brought up in a in a kind of like really weird, like silent environment and you can you can feel that in his writing. Um nineteen eighty four, very good, Brave New World. And what was the other one? I forgot the other one.

• 15:45Jonny?

  Deep work by Camus.

• 15:46Speaker 01

  Deep work by Camus.

• 15:47Jonny?

The um, I I think I watch films more than.

• 15:51Speaker 01

Ah, okay. Needful Things by Stephen King.

• 15:56Jonny?

Why did you, why why I said films?

• 15:58Speaker 01

  So sorry to interrupt.

• 15:59Jonny?

  No, that's okay.

• 16:00Speaker 01

Just because um it was one of the best books that I've read, but the film's one of the worst films that I've seen.

• 16:05Jonny?

  Interesting.

• 16:06Speaker 01

And so I think they just, because there was a lot of subtext in the book and then they managed to just.

• 16:10Jonny?

  Wreck it, yeah, much shame.

• 16:12Speaker 01

Fight Club, great book, great film.

• 16:14Jonny?

Apparently the big short book, I've just heard this.

• 16:17Speaker 01

  Right.

• 16:18Jonny?

  Is fantastic.

• 16:19Chris Williamson?

  Really?

• 16:19Jonny?

  Yeah.

• 16:20Chris Williamson?

That's the sort of thing they.

• 16:21Jonny?

  I love stuff.

• 16:22Speaker 01

Yeah, that was a, yeah, great film.

• 16:23Jonny?

Get into it. But go to the cinema. So like people read for pleasure often to like, you know, move move into another world. I go to the cinema for two hours, transported.

• 16:33Speaker 01

  Kind of.

• 16:34Jonny?

Can't get your phone. You have to sit and watch it.

• 16:36Speaker 01

Who, I spoke to someone the other day who went on a, oh, it was Mike did a four D cinema expose.

• 16:41Chris Williamson?

  Oh, yeah, I've done that.

• 16:42Speaker 01

Got a few of those now, like they spray you with water and.

• 16:44Jonny?

Yeah, and then like your seat vibrates and.

• 16:46Speaker 01

  Awful.

• 16:46Jonny?

I don't like, I just like to be left alone.

• 16:49Speaker 01

  To just enjoy it with.

• 16:50Jonny?

  Vying for your pastels and.

• 16:51Speaker 01

Said he was soaked by the end of it.

• 16:52Jonny?

  Yeah.

• 16:53Chris Williamson?

  Was he?

• 16:53Speaker 01

  Smelly water as well.

• 16:54Jonny?

I would see the equal as a team. Danza Washington. Dead Zil.

• 16:58Speaker 01

  Dead Zil.

• 16:59Chris Williamson?

  Good guy. Right, um.

• 17:02Chris Williamson?

Shaun J. What is a life hack you couldn't go without since introducing it? So we need to pick one that you've heard or you've brought up on a life hacks and you haven't you haven't sort of stopped since you've

• 17:17Jonny?

  God.

• 17:17Chris Williamson?

  Done that one.

• 17:18Jonny?

I know what you were gonna say.

• 17:19Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 17:20Chris Williamson?

  What's he gonna say?

• 17:21Jonny?

Minus flip between physical and digital.

• 17:24Chris Williamson?

What's he gonna say? What do you think he'll say?

• 17:26Jonny?

  Alfred.

• 17:27Speaker 01

  Oh, God.

• 17:28Jonny?

Oh, you're not gonna say Alfred?

• 17:29Speaker 01

But that actually tops it. If I had to pick what I was gonna say in Alfred, I'd have to pick Alfred.

• 17:33Jonny?

So if I just out-life hacked your own life, like what was your original one?

• 17:36Speaker 01

  Shut off him.

• 17:37Chris Williamson?

  Oh, the bum spray.

• 17:38Speaker 01

Yeah, I I try not to poo when I'm not at home now because it's it just.

• 17:43Chris Williamson?

  You're holding it in?

• 17:44Speaker 01

Well, you should you shouldn't, but it makes the experience so much better.

• 17:47Jonny?

What do you mean you shouldn't?

• 17:48Speaker 01

You shouldn't hold in poo longer than you should, longer than you have to.

• 17:53Jonny?

But no one ever holds in poo longer than they have to.

• 17:56Speaker 01

I think they do because otherwise you would just poo.

• 17:58Jonny?

But it's not longer than they have to.

• 18:00Speaker 01

Longer than they would like to, but, oh, yeah.

• 18:04Chris Williamson?

What if you really like feeling full?

• 18:06Speaker 01

There I bet there are people that like.

• 18:08Jonny?

If you're really hungry and you like to see like, well, I can poo, it'll be worse.

• 18:12Chris Williamson?

What about you, man? What are you thinking?

• 18:13Jonny?

  I don't know.

• 18:14Chris Williamson?

What about a couple? Any come to mind?

• 18:19Chris Williamson?

I'll tell you what's interesting, Sean. Great, quite a good question. One of the things that we find is that the little cycles that we go through uh is like a natural evolution of life hacks. And over time, some will remain and many will be discarded. So a lot of them, I almost need to go back and caveat like one oh one and one oh two and one oh three. I no longer do Romwad. It's not good for my spine, given my current spine health. I did a Whoop Band review that now I'm not doing that and now I'm considering getting the three. Like, so I've been in, gone out and then come back again.

• 18:54Speaker 01

You get the flip side as well, where there's some that are so standard in your life now that you forget that they're even.

• 18:59Chris Williamson?

  Automatic car cruise control.

• 19:00Jonny?

Probably the um the life hack then, like the master hack, is to just be constantly iterating and experimenting.

• 19:08Chris Williamson?

  Hmm, yeah, you're right.

• 19:09Jonny?

Because like all of us, the reason for life hacks is like, we're all trying something new. Every time we speak.

• 19:15Speaker 01

Every aspect of your life, you're like, how can this be?

• 19:17Jonny?

You're like changing something, yeah, so.

• 19:19Chris Williamson?

  AirPods are probably.

• 19:22Jonny?

  They're up there, yeah.

• 19:22Chris Williamson?

  Fairly ubiquitous in my life.

• 19:24Jonny?

  Yeah.

• 19:25Chris Williamson?

  Um.

• 19:27Chris Williamson?

Like things like wifi scales and, you know, like stuff we've mentioned that I don't, it's just part of my day. That's the thing, it's when, the ones that, uh, what is a life hack you couldn't go without since introducing it? It's the ones that integrate the most seamlessly with your life. That's why you like Alfred, that's why I, we, me and you like AirPods. Um, for me, the best one, the one that has given me the highest return, single highest return from one life hack, sleeping with my phone outside of my room. If you put your phone outside of your room when you, before you go to bed, or if you have a bedroom bound on your phone. It is the downstream from that. It's the same as getting a dog. Happiness walks, fresh air, like downstream, all the implications are great. Yeah. Um, so yeah, phone outside of the room.

• 20:09Chris Williamson?

I still don't do that. I'm going to need to get a alarm clock and do it.

• 20:13Jonny?

So this is just based on, um, recently, the Byron Katie book, the Byron Katie process. I think that was a life hack.

• 20:20Chris Williamson?

  Really?

• 20:21Jonny?

Yeah, just like lately been using it for. I think if you're able, I'm not, I'm not so convinced now that it's like having this deep sort of like rewiring effect, but it just allows you to take something that like when you wake up in the morning, you're like really pissed off about it and you just reframe it, see it differently and use it to your advantage.

• 20:41Chris Williamson?

The process which works for you.

• 20:42Jonny?

Exactly. And I think if you can take a bad thing, you're like, well, I'm just going to do this about it, then it's a great thing to have.

• 20:47Chris Williamson?

It's also great because if it eliminates boredom forever, like if you're sat in a room on your own for ten hours, you can be like.

• 20:53Jonny?

  Byron Katie, everything.

• 20:54Chris Williamson?

  Yeah.

• 20:54Jonny?

  Byron Katie.

• 20:55Chris Williamson?

By the end of ten hours, you just feel amazing.

• 20:57Jonny?

  Yeah.

• 20:57Chris Williamson?

  Casper.

• 20:59Jonny?

It's my, it's our go, Chris. Excuse me. Excuse me.

• 21:02Chris Williamson?

  Sorry, go on.

• 21:03Jonny?

Unbelievable. Sorry. Emma Hames P T, um, who I think wanted a date with you, actually.

• 21:12Jonny?

I probably shouldn't have said that.

• 21:14Chris Williamson?

  That's your answer, Chris?

• 21:16Jonny?

Would you rather, um, have to tell everyone around you that you need to fart or pee your pants? And then she submitted in a second question, ellipsis every day.

• 21:28Speaker 01

  So.

• 21:29Jonny?

So would you rather have to tell everyone around you that you need to fart? So every time you fart, you're like, I've got a fart. Or every time you pee, you pee your pants?

• 21:37Chris Williamson?

It's the fart, gotta be the fart one. Like, or else you're just pissing your pants all the time.

• 21:41Jonny?

  Hmm.

• 21:41Chris Williamson?

  Yeah. It's, it's that, there's not, it's no, there's a big asymmetry.

• 21:45Speaker 01

It's cut and dry there, isn't it? Yeah.

• 21:47Jonny?

I suppose it depends on if you need to fart. It's like every time you even get a hint of a feeling, you have to fart.

• 21:52Chris Williamson?

I don't have the hint of a fart much. Like, mine are.

• 21:55Speaker 01

  They just fall out.

• 21:56Chris Williamson?

I don't get false alarms. I don't have false alarms at all.

• 21:58Jonny?

You must have situations in your life where you think I shouldn't fart here.

• 22:01Chris Williamson?

Well, the only time that I think I shouldn't fart is when I think I might shart.

• 22:06Jonny?

But you must be in a social setting where you're like, I shouldn't fart here.

• 22:10Chris Williamson?

  You've heard me fart.

• 22:11Jonny?

  I know, lots.

• 22:12Speaker 01

You know what? We've been on long car journeys with you and you've been very considerate.

• 22:15Jonny?

  You've been very good.

• 22:16Chris Williamson?

But that's because of the seating position.

• 22:18Speaker 01

  So it's not, so it.

• 22:20Jonny?

  The unking.

• 22:20Chris Williamson?

It's not, it's not out of courtesy. No, not at all. Uh, okay. Casper Sorenson, how much did Johnny and Youssef really bench?

• 22:29Speaker 01

I love that he's got Soren in his name.

• 22:31Chris Williamson?

It's kind of. The sum of the letters of Sorenson. I must, what's your, what's your all time PB not comp?

• 22:39Jonny?

  One sixty two point five.

• 22:42Chris Williamson?

  Was it in a comp?

• 22:43Jonny?

  No, you said not comp.

• 22:44Chris Williamson?

Yeah, was it in a comp? No, no. So just in the gym?

• 22:47Jonny?

  Yeah.

• 22:47Chris Williamson?

  Peaking?

• 22:47Jonny?

  Yeah.

• 22:48Speaker 01

  Peaking?

• 22:49Jonny?

This was before, this was in the build up, prior to me going, right, I'm starting powerlifting.

• 22:54Speaker 01

You got one seven two in Gold Star. It was very.

• 22:57Jonny?

No, it wasn't. It wasn't in Gold Star. It was in David Lloyd and we cannot have called it a bench press.

• 23:01Speaker 01

  Okay.

• 23:01Jonny?

So like dodgy plates, like bench height was questionable and it was like crashing onto my sternum.

• 23:08Speaker 01

So because it wasn't IPF legal, Johnny's not counting it, but I would say.

• 23:12Chris Williamson?

Purity, man. You've got a lot of, you still love the sport.

• 23:14Jonny?

I think you have to. It's like, if, well, I mean, there's infinite examples.

• 23:17Chris Williamson?

Have you seen my side versus the world?

• 23:19Jonny?

  Yes.

• 23:20Chris Williamson?

  Thoughts?

• 23:21Jonny?

  Love just Louis Simmons, man.

• 23:22Chris Williamson?

Cool guy. You know, Louis Simmons has never done a podcast.

• 23:25Jonny?

  Yeah.

• 23:25Chris Williamson?

  And I'm trying.

• 23:26Jonny?

He's not on Rogan. I think he's on Rogan.

• 23:28Chris Williamson?

  Is he?

• 23:28Jonny?

Yeah. But I think he's pretty hard to get a hold of.

• 23:31Chris Williamson?

Yeah, I'm, I'm trying to get Brian Carroll.

• 23:33Jonny?

At the, at the start of the West Side versus the world, it says like, this was not Louis's idea. And then they just get, I, I've seen him, you know, the barbell shrug guys. I've seen him take the barbell shrug guy who's like, I'm struggling with my clean. And Louis is just like, bands. So he gets the barbell shrug guy to do a banded power clean and like obviously you get you do the pull and it just crashes out and he's like move faster. And he just gets the guy to do banded power cleans and in previous clean. Louis Simmons is the boy.

• 24:01Chris Williamson?

  Uh Seth, best bench press?

• 24:03Speaker 01

  One fifty.

• 24:04Jonny?

  That was in pinnacle.

• 24:05Speaker 01

  In, yeah.

• 24:06Chris Williamson?

  Yeah.

• 24:06Speaker 01

  Was it?

• 24:07Chris Williamson?

  Yeah.

• 24:07Speaker 01

When we went in and ruined everyone's day. Cause there was a leaderboard and we just, yeah, just turned up.

• 24:13Chris Williamson?

Took everything in all, all genders, all weight categories.

• 24:17Jonny?

  Yeah.

• 24:18Chris Williamson?

Identified as everything when you're in.

• 24:19Jonny?

How much do you bench? Someone asked us that recently. Who asked us that? Do you remember that?

• 24:23Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 24:24Chris Williamson?

My all time PB is one forty, but I don't train bench.

• 24:28Jonny?

  That'll be.

• 24:29Chris Williamson?

  Yeah.

• 24:30Speaker 01

  Close grip.

• 24:31Jonny?

Close grip, flat back, feet on the bench.

• 24:33Chris Williamson?

  All of those things.

• 24:34Jonny?

  Yeah, no, they're not. Tempo.

• 24:35Speaker 01

  For eight reps.

• 24:36Jonny?

  Emon.

• 24:37Speaker 01

Cause he never went below eight.

• 24:41Chris Williamson?

  You got one?

• 24:41Jonny?

Um. God, this Jett O' Moon has hammered the questions.

• 24:46Chris Williamson?

I've got a lot of them as well.

• 24:47Jonny?

Jett O' Moon. What's something you think every person should experience in their lifetime?

• 24:57Chris Williamson?

  Uh.

• 24:57Jonny?

  Hot potato.

• 24:58Chris Williamson?

  Be on a podcast.

• 25:00Jonny?

  Be on a podcast.

• 25:02Chris Williamson?

  I think that.

• 25:02Jonny?

  That's a really good answer.

• 25:05Chris Williamson?

I think that at some point in your life, especially now, a lot of distraction, a lot of time spent double screening, triple screening, watching TV, being distracted, not having deep conversations. It is like doing these podcasts and having these discussions with whoever it is now, even people I got not that much, like Brian Carroll is a three hundred and something pound powerlifter from Florida. Um, and the only thing I have in common is we've both been seen by the same back specialist.

• 25:31Jonny?

  Hmm.

• 25:32Chris Williamson?

And an hour and a half talking to him just flew by and I loved it and I'm gonna go see him and I'm gonna go and chill with him and you're like. The opportunity.

• 25:41Jonny?

I can't believe you're going to go and chill with Brian Carroll.

• 25:44Chris Williamson?

  It's ridiculous.

• 25:44Speaker 01

I've got Dave Tate on in a couple of weeks.

• 25:46Jonny?

He will be an interesting guy.

• 25:48Chris Williamson?

I've got, I'll wait for you to get questions from him.

• 25:52Chris Williamson?

Andrew Doyle, sat down with Andrew Doyle this Sunday, went out for him in Edinburgh last night after his show at the Fringe, had drinks with him.

• 25:59Jonny?

  He's on the podcast.

• 26:00Chris Williamson?

He's on the podcast indeed, yeah. So.

• 26:02Jonny?

  So be on a podcast.

• 26:03Chris Williamson?

Be on a podcast, just have the opportunity, or if not, sit down with someone for one hour, both phones outside of the room, and have a discussion about something that you think will interest you. So like fake a podcast, I just think having deep conversations with people, you both leave, everyone that's a part of them leaves the room better than when you went in. That's mine.

• 26:22Jonny?

Yeah, cause like, you can, you can do a podcast about whatever you're interested in and just put it on iTunes, like there's the costs minimal, isn't it? As we well done.

• 26:31Chris Williamson?

You think I'm a fucking prick?

• 26:36Chris Williamson?

  Tell that story.

• 26:36Jonny?

We'll have to tell that story in full at some point.

• 26:39Chris Williamson?

Not on this one, we'll do it when I'm done.

• 26:41Jonny?

  But, yeah.

• 26:42Chris Williamson?

  Right, what about you, Seth?

• 26:43Jonny?

Say to you, Seth, that you can't do a podcast, what, because cost is the reason, especially when you are part of a radio station.

• 26:51Speaker 01

And the content is made and it's been edited and mastered and you're just thinking of a way to repurpose it. Right.

• 26:59Jonny?

What's, what's something that everyone should experience?

• 27:01Speaker 01

A widow maker experience, so that doesn't have to be a widow maker, which is, so.

• 27:07Jonny?

  Seriously?

• 27:08Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 27:08Jonny?

This is exactly what I was gonna say, the squats, was squat widow maker?

• 27:11Speaker 01

Well, so it, it's one option.

• 27:12Jonny?

This is exactly what I was gonna say.

• 27:14Chris Williamson?

  Really?

• 27:14Jonny?

  Unbelievable.

• 27:15Speaker 01

  So.

• 27:17Speaker 01

Sorry, man. Um, so the widow maker is a set of squats with your 10 rep max and you do 20. And obviously by definition, you think, well, that's not possible, but it is possible, it just takes 10 minutes to do.

• 27:30Jonny?

  Yeah.

• 27:30Speaker 01

Um, so you have the bar on your back, you do 10, you, you're done, you keep the bar on your back, you take five to 10 deep breaths, you go again, five to 10 deep breaths, you go again until you hit 20, you start to go deaf, you have ringing in your ears.

• 27:43Jonny?

  Taste blood.

• 27:44Speaker 01

You, yeah, like everything just shuts out and like all your cares drop away and you, the whole being is just. Just like, I hate this. Um, other ways to experience it, ten minute ice bath, high dose psychedelics, if that's what you're into.

• 27:58Chris Williamson?

  Two K max row.

• 27:59Speaker 01

Two K max row, uh, ten day meditation retreat, like anything that.

• 28:03Jonny?

They're all quite different versions of that. I think a widow maker is very like.

• 28:09Speaker 01

It's the shortest way to do it.

• 28:10Jonny?

Can't visceral. Get away from it.

• 28:12Chris Williamson?

Two K max, two K max row, max effort, max effort, two K row, definitely.

• 28:15Jonny?

  The guys at, um.

• 28:18Jonny?

Jim Jones, the guys who trained all the three hundred actors, they call the, the two K row like the, the test.

• 28:25Speaker 01

  A horrible distance.

• 28:28Speaker 01

Well, do, do we know the story about the selfie?

• 28:32Chris Williamson?

  Your one, yeah.

• 28:33Jonny?

It was that first two K row.

• 28:34Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 28:35Chris Williamson?

  Uh, Johnny, what's yours?

• 28:36Jonny?

I mean, that, that, that was gonna be it. Like, so I think, um, the thing that a lot of people don't experience, I think everyone should, is experiencing. High end or the end of your physical capability, or experience the line where your mind is like shouting to stop.

• 28:53Chris Williamson?

I think as well, what you've identified with the Widowmaker is that because the way the programming's done, like we've always said this about powerlifting. If you can't lift the weight, you can't lift the weight. It doesn't go up. There's no struggle.

• 29:04Jonny?

  Yeah.

• 29:04Chris Williamson?

Whereas if you've ever been, if you ever watched one of those videos where boxers. Run out of gas and then they kind of collapse to the floor. It's like, how fucked you have to be to not be able to throw another punch?

• 29:15Jonny?

  Yeah.

• 29:16Chris Williamson?

It, it's the weight of your arm not even going against gravity.

• 29:19Speaker 01

  Death by thousands, cuts.

• 29:20Chris Williamson?

Just extending your arm out. Yeah, exactly. So.

• 29:23Jonny?

It's, it's the thing I've always admired. Like, I always admire, I've always admired elite athletes. I've always admired, like, special forces. And it's not physical prowess. It's, it's like.

• 29:31Speaker 01

  Being able to.

• 29:32Jonny?

  The ability to just tolerate.

• 29:33Speaker 01

  Is it Goggins that was?

• 29:35Jonny?

  Like running on it.

• 29:36Speaker 01

  It's David Goggins.

• 29:37Jonny?

  Yeah.

• 29:37Speaker 01

It is David Goggins, the one who broke. Who broke his feet and was still.

• 29:42Jonny?

Yeah, yeah. Just like frightening people, terrifying people who are able to do that.

• 29:47Chris Williamson?

Oh, wow. This is a fucking belter of a question. Paul Ogun. Uh, if you were to give your student self, we'll call this first student, like fresher, eighteen. If you were to give your student self a life hack, what would it be? Fuck. When I think about how different my life setup is now to when I was eighteen, jeez. Because when I was eighteen, phones weren't a problem, so I wouldn't need to do any phone reduction stuff.

• 30:16Jonny?

  Um.

• 30:17Speaker 01

  Different thing, isn't it?

• 30:19Chris Williamson?

Pomodoro's would be good for me being a student, but probably.

• 30:22Jonny?

I don't really care about that. I think you've got to assume like you came out with your degree. So that's gonna happen any, unless your life hack makes that harder.

• 30:29Chris Williamson?

Yeah, five by five would be probably something that I wish I'd known.

• 30:37Jonny?

I love that. Of all the things, it's like, I just should have done more days where I just did five by five. You're not wrong, like.

• 30:47Chris Williamson?

  Or five, three, one.

• 30:48Jonny?

Mo, yeah, so five, I think like, sitting down and explaining to my eighteen year old self, just like nutrition and training.

• 30:55Speaker 01

We did so many stupid diet nutritional.

• 30:57Jonny?

Well, so I suppose that alone would have saved me out hundreds of hours probably of my degree.

• 31:03Chris Williamson?

And uh pounds of of wasted money on like surge workout fuel, the anaconda protocol, Indigo three G.

• 31:10Jonny?

It is a level playing field. Everyone's on Indigo three G.

• 31:13Chris Williamson?

It is a game changer. What about you, Seth? One thing to ever note, and then you wouldn't have lost your journal of like a decade.

• 31:19Speaker 01

Oh, yeah, well, so I I wrote a journal for a a daily journal for a decade. And then one day my Microsoft Word file corrupted.

• 31:30Jonny?

It's and then what you do.

• 31:31Speaker 01

  Well.

• 31:35Speaker 01

That's the end of my journaling then. And I just thought, well, there's no point in continuing, like, I just.

• 31:39Chris Williamson?

Didn't you say it was like the most autistic, um.

• 31:43Speaker 01

  Oh, yeah.

• 31:44Chris Williamson?

  Uh identification of the day.

• 31:46Speaker 01

Yeah, it was like, um, went here, met this person, ate fish.

• 31:53Jonny?

So it wouldn't have been interesting. Well, it probably would anyway.

• 31:56Speaker 01

When you scroll back over, you're like, oh, yeah, like, you know, the most, there's so many mundane days in your life that just.

• 32:01Chris Williamson?

  Just the minutia.

• 32:02Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 32:02Chris Williamson?

What about you, Johnny? Oh, would it, sorry, would it be me ever note?

• 32:06Speaker 01

Uh Evernote was good. Deep work, a deep work habit, if the the book existed. Um, five, three, one, very similar, like a rep scheme. But I think for me, it would be just raising my standards. Because I, in my first degree, thought that I was like some big hot shot, like doing really well. But looking back, like, it was a degree that. Like if you didn't get a first in it, you're a dick. So, um. And then the second one made me realise that how much slack there was in the system. And actually, what I could have done is done two, two degrees at the same time. One independent, one one private, one university one, or like learned another language, read loads of books, like started up another business, like something that. So.

• 32:50Chris Williamson?

  Yeah. Johnny.

• 32:52Jonny?

  I think, uh, either.

• 32:57Jonny?

It sort of incentivising myself to like go down the path of um seeking alternative education earlier. So I think like I stumbled into.

• 33:07Speaker 01

  It's the trade at eighteen.

• 33:10Jonny?

Well, yeah, I mean, stuff like that, like, you know, the stuff that you you start the into the self-development world and read books and listen to different people and get different views. That are different from your friends and different from what your parents are taught, and different from school. And the earlier you get that, the better your life decisions are. But I don't know, I don't think, it's not a life hack necessarily, but I think, like, just start learning from places that aren't you.

• 33:35Chris Williamson?

  Got you.

• 33:35Jonny?

That would have been what I would say to myself.

• 33:37Chris Williamson?

You got one, Johnny? Got a good one?

• 33:39Speaker 01

  Um.

• 33:41Speaker 01

What personality trait has gotten you in the most trouble?

• 33:45Chris Williamson?

  Trouble?

• 33:46Speaker 01

  Um.

• 33:48Chris Williamson?

Out of the big five. Probably neurot- probably neuroticism or industriousness.

• 33:51Speaker 01

Got much left over, head press. Neuroticism.

• 33:55Chris Williamson?

Snatch. Neuroticism or, so this has caused the most problems for me is somewhere between neuroticism and industriousness. Just that I I can't, I can't bear not to be working and doing things, like, and it's getting. I'm controlling it better, but the industriousness is getting worse. I'm able to now operate with less rest.

• 34:16Speaker 01

  Right.

• 34:16Chris Williamson?

Like less downtime. I'm able to do, like previously it might be a five day week, but now I can probably get away with maybe a seven day week. Before I need to take an afternoon. And then, you know, over time, that'll become like a ten day week before I need to take an afternoon. Um, so the problem with that is that back in the day, my neuroticism caused me to shortcut success as the indicator for my success. And just allowed, I I was forced to use the suffering associated with the task as my indicator of I've done good. So if I worked a club night and went home and was fucked, I would think, yeah, you've worked hard.

• 34:54Chris Williamson?

Irrelevant of regardless of the uh of the success of the event. Whereas um I could go and have a one where I the event performed really well, but if I hadn't suffered, I was like, you fucking lazy bastard.

• 35:07Jonny?

It has to be hard to be to feel like you're moving in the right direction.

• 35:10Chris Williamson?

Even if it's not successful. And then if it's not so you need to you need to succeed on two different pathways, one of which is not associated with success at all.

• 35:16Jonny?

  Yeah.

• 35:17Chris Williamson?

Um. So, yeah, that that's kind of the one that's got me in the most trouble. It's also got me in the most trouble with friends, girlfriends, all that sort of stuff. Why are you working again this evening? Why are you doing this? It means that you don't have. It's a rare person who wants to work as much as we do, and it's fortunate that we are around each other. Like fucking Dean's the same, Jordan, George, you know, a lot of people that we sort of come across. I wonder how much of the fact that we're friends is just desperately not feeling quite as weird.

• 35:44Jonny?

  Makes it feel normal.

• 35:45Chris Williamson?

  Yeah. What about you, Seth?

• 35:47Speaker 01

That that's a very good answer. Sim- similar. Um. For me, it's my overhead press, like it's always been slow to progress and then um.

• 35:54Jonny?

Mine still stuck where it's always been.

• 35:55Speaker 01

Ah, it's annoying. Um. Agreeableness as well. I mean, it's the it's the origin of the the problem that I that's a perpetual problem.

• 36:02Jonny?

  Too agreeable.

• 36:03Speaker 01

I think so. In like, but neuroticism as well, like out of the.

• 36:08Jonny?

I think yours has got to be a sc- scurvy problem.

• 36:11Speaker 01

Well, yeah, which which comes about from um agreeableness and.

• 36:17Jonny?

Is it agreeableness? Is it not save money, not rock the boat?

• 36:20Speaker 01

So that so so not not rock the not not rock the boat is agreeable.

• 36:24Jonny?

  I suppose, yeah.

• 36:25Speaker 01

  And then save money.

• 36:26Chris Williamson?

  Neuroticism.

• 36:27Speaker 01

I'm I'm less bothered about saving money these days.

• 36:30Chris Williamson?

  Right. You are getting better.

• 36:31Speaker 01

Not because I'm not not because I have money.

• 36:32Jonny?

If you see value in stuff, you just buy it, don't you?

• 36:34Speaker 01

  Yeah, I just like.

• 36:36Chris Williamson?

It's your threshold for seeing value.

• 36:38Speaker 01

But that is also both of your influence.

• 36:40Chris Williamson?

We pull you out of it.

• 36:41Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 36:42Chris Williamson?

What about you, Johnny? Because this is interesting for you.

• 36:44Jonny?

The probably the biggest one for me is boundaries. And what I mean by that is um.

• 36:53Jonny?

I will, so similar to you, I suppose, like, I would love to be able to shut my laptop at four o'clock and go train and forget about work for the rest of the day. But no matter how many times I tell myself to do that, I can't. So I need, I need to force boundaries on myself, but that also leads to me being like, I'm late for stuff. Or I'll procrastinate with things sometimes and do them right at the last minute. It was really bad if I at uni, like I would do all my projects right at the last minute.

• 37:20Speaker 01

This is why I like the developer of frozen turkey, like it's got into our heads and knows that.

• 37:24Jonny?

I think everyone does it, like, e- everyone procrastinates on something. It's just that I partly, I suppose, I hold myself to a really high standard with everything, which is stupid. Um, and I don't allow myself any like leeway for just being a human being.

• 37:39Speaker 01

Yeah, so something that I think you're very good at and like, I know Sam Evans talks about like rewiring your brain to like, look for the most difficult thing of the day and just like put in on it, is let's say you've got like ten minutes before you have to go out.

• 37:51Jonny?

  Mm hmm.

• 37:52Speaker 01

I'd be like, oh, it's not quite long enough to do like a live video or whatever, whereas you'll be like, I'll just do it.

• 37:57Chris Williamson?

Um, that pull it, that executor versus strategist thing's a, a big deal, like which I'm, I haven't completed.

• 38:04Jonny?

Right, I got, I'm sorry, I, I, I'm really good with executing that, but like, put a load of washing in, I'll procrastinate on it.

• 38:12Chris Williamson?

  Yeah.

• 38:12Jonny?

Weird, like, uh, it's cause there's no reward attached to it, right? Like, like if it's like, Johnny solved this really complex problem, fucking bring it on, I, I'll sit and do it for three hours.

• 38:20Chris Williamson?

  Johnny did the dishes.

• 38:21Jonny?

But if it's like, Johnny did like unload the dishwasher.

• 38:24Chris Williamson?

Oh, uh, why don't we do a couple of, a couple of quickfire ones, then we got a really, really good, a maybe, maybe one. Uh, what are Johnny's most and least favourite CrossFit movements, except squats and deadlifts?

• 38:36Jonny?

Uh, least favourite is running and burpees.

• 38:39Chris Williamson?

  Okay.

• 38:40Jonny?

So, okay, so the way it's separated is if I have to move something while being stationary, really enjoy it. If I have to move myself. I don't enjoy it typically. So like pull ups, I find hard, toaster bar hard, birpees hard, running extremely hard, running should just be removed from CrossFit entirely. If it's like rowing, uh, Echo Bike, anything with a barbell, anything with a dumbbell, bring it on.

• 39:01Chris Williamson?

I'm a laugh. What about uh dumbbell box stepovers? Have you done those yet?

• 39:05Jonny?

  Box stepovers, no.

• 39:07Chris Williamson?

So two twenty two and a half, so neither hand, just step over the box. Don't need to step up at the top, just get over it. It is the most gluty thing you've ever done in your life.

• 39:16Jonny?

  Devil press is pretty bad.

• 39:17Chris Williamson?

Devil press, okay. No, you can do it however. Most people go straight on and then twist and turn.

• 39:21Jonny?

Like the actually thrust is a hit. Anything with front rack.

• 39:24Chris Williamson?

  Front rack.

• 39:25Jonny?

It's so lactate inducing on there.

• 39:27Chris Williamson?

Uh, another quick one, fitness aims for twenty twenty. RX the open?

• 39:32Jonny?

  RX the open, yeah.

• 39:33Chris Williamson?

That's a fucking great aim, you know. Like just as something, I want to be able to get all of the fundamental movements.

• 39:38Jonny?

  Hmm.

• 39:39Chris Williamson?

And I want to, I want to, you know, place.

• 39:41Jonny?

I, I heard, so you remember I went to see Ann Middleton?

• 39:45Chris Williamson?

  Hmm.

• 39:46Jonny?

So he spoke about, um, like you have a flame inside you, which is like your like enthusiasm for things. And he's like, everybody gets to a point in their life where the flame starts to, this is a really long winded thing, flame starts to flicker out and die. He's like, what you've got to do at that point is reignite the flame. And the, as he said that, Becca looked at me and went, that's what you're doing, isn't it? And I was like, I've never thought about it before, but like at that time I'd just signed up, I'd just done six months of CrossFit. And I could feel the flame flickering with like fitness in general, like nutrition, couldn't give a shit, training, boring, mobility, don't care. Whereas now like it's switched and suddenly like I love training again. And like, it doesn't matter that it.

• 40:30Chris Williamson?

What did you think if two years ago?

• 40:32Jonny?

I told myself that. So I think, I think I really want to do like a long content piece on this because I think people. Two things that are annoying. One is, I don't think CrossFit is what everyone wants it to be. I think it's a sport and I think it's a great way of expressing, like honing your fitness into something. But I think there are other attributes that you should be focusing on as well and other ways of training are sensible. That ideally feed into CrossFit, but also people who just relentlessly criticize things in the fitness industry, having never tried them. Like, we see it all the time, like keto shit, like have you ever tried keto? Like, how long have you been on keto for? Oh, you never tried, how convenient, paleo shit, how long have you been paleo for?

• 41:14Jonny?

Like, we, we have thrown our, like, we lay on the train tracks and like, is the train gonna kill me? I don't know, we'll find out. Like, cause I, I just, people like lay in the CrossFit and we used to do it and then I was like, well, we can't keep doing this. And to, cause you tried the one class.

• 41:29Speaker 01

  I've done two.

• 41:30Jonny?

  Two classes.

• 41:30Speaker 01

  Both vomit inducing.

• 41:32Jonny?

People in the gym still remember that, you know.

• 41:34Speaker 01

  Oh, really?

• 41:34Chris Williamson?

Tim, Tim, Tim Briggs still talks about it to this day. But that's perpetuated by the fact that you're always on the podcast.

• 41:40Jonny?

Yeah. Um, fitness ends for twenty twenty.

• 41:43Speaker 01

Three flares on the floor. So flares are.

• 41:48Speaker 01

When you're in trouble on, uh, at sea and you have to, um, the, you will have seen people do it on the pommel horse. Where legs are wide, moving, yeah.

• 41:57Jonny?

  Yeah, advanced.

• 41:58Speaker 01

  That is so hard.

• 41:59Jonny?

Cause you've got Alan, I've seen you do one.

• 42:01Speaker 01

I've, I've just nailed two on the floor. Well, not nailed.

• 42:04Jonny?

Third gonna be really difficult to get.

• 42:05Speaker 01

Yeah, like I've just four, cause what I'm doing with the two is I'm basically like just coasting on the momentum for just winging myself round. But it's, it's bad form, so.

• 42:13Jonny?

So what do you have to do to do that? Like, how do you, do you just do more? Cause you're gonna do two flares, right?

• 42:19Speaker 01

You need to be able to.

• 42:20Jonny?

  Can't train flares.

• 42:21Speaker 01

Both legs like up, so alongside your, your face.

• 42:25Jonny?

So what I mean is like, how do you train for that?

• 42:28Speaker 01

So I got a mushroom from eBay, which I've been doing, but it forces you into bad habits, cause obviously.

• 42:34Chris Williamson?

  You're more lazy.

• 42:35Speaker 01

Yeah, cause you, your legs can go below the floor. So actually, you learn it, you almost ingrate a wrong technique. You ingrate one that's good for pommel horse, but not for floor. So now I'm forcing on getting more lift and just like. Try, you, you do have to be able to get into like a really comfortable pancake, like active as well.

• 42:52Jonny?

  So abs.

• 42:54Speaker 01

Yeah, abs, hip flexor, just being able to like to do that.

• 42:56Jonny?

And then tricep shoulders as well.

• 42:58Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 42:59Chris Williamson?

This is why, this is why gymnasts are motherfuckers.

• 43:01Speaker 01

They're, they're so impressive. I, we went, I went to a handstand workshop with James Bailey and a guy called Yuval Avalon, who is a ex Israeli. Uh Olympic gymnast and is now like a handstand, he's he's a monster like um just.

• 43:15Chris Williamson?

  Special forces.

• 43:16Speaker 01

Special for he's like fifty years old, he's in incredible shape and he, someone asked him like, how do I do elephant lift? Which, as you know, is like when your legs are wide on the floor and you put your hands on the floor and you lift into a handstand.

• 43:27Chris Williamson?

  Yeah.

• 43:27Speaker 01

And he did it like a beautiful one and then he was like, it's not about strength, look at this and he did one but on the floor, so he sat down. Had his ha- had his feet out in front of him like a nice degrees, leaned forward and then slid his feet all the way around so he was just lying on his front.

• 43:43Chris Williamson?

  Mm hmm.

• 43:44Speaker 01

And then brought his feet back round again, so he's sat up again.

• 43:46Chris Williamson?

  Yeah.

• 43:47Speaker 01

So he was like, my hips have just got the full.

• 43:50Chris Williamson?

Yeah, uh so fully gyroscopic hips.

• 43:53Speaker 01

Yeah, so he's like, if you can do that, then you're not actually lifting, you're just putting your hands on the floor and you're already flat. All you have to do is just lift your legs up.

• 43:59Chris Williamson?

Got you. Uh so mine, I just need to be able to train again, man, like, and it's, so is that the, is that the? Like, that's what you're moving towards. My fitness aim for the end of twenty twenty would be able to do uh RX all of the CrossFit movements at forty kilos if there's weight on it. Uh pain free and without fear. Um so currently I I'm not lifting, I I don't do anything. Like I just do my rehab and it's a fucking dest a cheap place to be as someone who's used to training, but these are the sacrifices that I need to make and. People like Brian Carroll splits fucking sacrum in half, front to back and went back and he's now gonna try and squat a thousand two hundred pounds. At two seventy five, which will be the first man on the planet that's ever done it.

• 44:42Speaker 01

  Hmm.

• 44:42Chris Williamson?

And like, uh it's stop fucking complaining.

• 44:45Speaker 01

  Mm hmm.

• 44:45Chris Williamson?

Your problem is not as bad as you think it is, you're still able to do some things.

• 44:49Speaker 01

  It's a good attitude.

• 44:50Chris Williamson?

Suck it up and crack on.

• 44:51Speaker 01

I'm consistently impressed with your boredom tolerance for the big three or for doing any rehab movements, like you'll go into the gym and just do rehab, but that would drive me mental.

• 44:59Chris Williamson?

It's actually because I'm very selfish, it's because I want to train, I want to train so badly that I'm prepared to do something super boring to be able to train again. So it's just a long, like I'm almost surprised at myself for that long termist mentality.

• 45:11Speaker 01

Well, like the powerlifting world is probably the biggest example of people who, like, Lee Norton dinged his back like. Three times, I think, right before me.

• 45:21Jonny?

And there's videos of him like, he just keeps saying brick, brick by brick, brick by brick. So he like works up and he's like, th- does three hundred for a double, back goes again. Is that right? Back to doing like bird dogs and, and he just, the whole, he building up like goblet squads. He just keeps going. He knew it for years.

• 45:36Chris Williamson?

Indomitable man. Um, recommendations for the best wearable fitness tech. So you have gone back to wearing a whoop band. You've gone back to wearing a whoop band. Why?

• 45:43Jonny?

  Hoop.

• 45:44Chris Williamson?

  Um, quick one. Why?

• 45:46Jonny?

Uh, mainly because, uh, when you're doing powerlifting, the only thing that's relevant for it really is H R B. So the strain, the strain's mainly, mainly a cardio measure, um, like your heart rate zones and other things. So I just, it's just interest really. Plus the new whoop band.

• 46:05Chris Williamson?

Have you ordered the new strap?

• 46:06Jonny?

  Yeah.

• 46:07Chris Williamson?

  Is it arriving soon?

• 46:08Jonny?

  Yeah.

• 46:08Chris Williamson?

  I'd be interested.

• 46:09Jonny?

Well, no, so I've ordered the whoop three.

• 46:10Chris Williamson?

Oh, okay. Cause that's about the last.

• 46:12Jonny?

They sent me a thing saying if you just resubscribe, we'll send you a whoop three for free. So I was like, well, I like free things.

• 46:18Chris Williamson?

Uh, do you have any wearable fitness stuff? Oh, Withings, the Withings.

• 46:23Speaker 01

Oh yeah, the Withings. So, so Chris kindly gave me a Withings watch, which is good. Just tracks, it's very, it's like first gen. So it just tracks heart rate.

• 46:30Jonny?

  It's so thin and.

• 46:32Speaker 01

  I know.

• 46:35Speaker 01

Um, I, I wanna get, I wanna try and order a ring. George said he would lend me his to see whether I like it and I might buy one. I use a muse headband for meditation.

• 46:44Chris Williamson?

  Just sold it.

• 46:45Speaker 01

  Which is what?

• 46:45Chris Williamson?

  Just sold mine.

• 46:46Speaker 01

Did you? Okay. So I mean, that, it's very good for a certain style of meditation. They claim that the new gen accounts for more like heart oriented meditation.

• 46:54Chris Williamson?

Yeah, the new one's got like heart, mind stuff.

• 46:57Speaker 01

Okay. So you can do different styles. It does, it certainly does correlate. It's a wearable E E G that you could, it correlates with the level of concentration that you have. Um, and what was the other one? There's a heart math institute device. I think you wear it around your chest.

• 47:12Chris Williamson?

  Yeah.

• 47:13Speaker 01

That I'm interested in buying. It's two hundred dollars.

• 47:16Jonny?

  But I need.

• 47:16Chris Williamson?

Ah, if you're listening, just send this one out, we'll do a review.

• 47:19Jonny?

That'd be lovely. Um, but I need to justify that to myself by using the muse more consistently.

• 47:25Chris Williamson?

  Yeah.

• 47:26Jonny?

I think like even just Fitbit, just I think, I think there's no, there's no downside of just having something.

• 47:30Chris Williamson?

Hmm. I need, what I need is something as comfortable as a Whoop, which gives me the same readout as a Whoop, but has the time.

• 47:38Jonny?

  Yeah.

• 47:38Chris Williamson?

I just need to have the time on it. Cause if I had something that hadn't.

• 47:42Jonny?

  It's displayless.

• 47:43Chris Williamson?

If I, if I had something that had the time on it, I wouldn't need to get my phone out to check the time.

• 47:46Jonny?

  And then you're looking for.

• 47:48Chris Williamson?

  Yeah. So.

• 47:49Jonny?

So you're thinking of getting a new Whoop though?

• 47:50Chris Williamson?

I'm gonna try the three, cause I did like the readout on that. And I've noticed that I'm not taking as much care about my sleep. Because I sleep with my phone out of the room, which means I can't use sleep cycle.

• 48:00Jonny?

  Hmm.

• 48:01Chris Williamson?

Um, and also I can't track what sort of quality my sleep is through sleep ranges.

• 48:04Jonny?

The biggest thing for me is just wearing it more like a watch position. So I was obsessed, you know, they recommend like wearing it up here.

• 48:10Chris Williamson?

  Higher up, yeah.

• 48:11Jonny?

Like I was obsessed with that and it was making it fit weird for me.

• 48:14Chris Williamson?

The new one, the new one with the new strap will be better. Uh, very quick one. At what point do you draw the line? When it comes to the trade off between personal data and personalised slash tracking services, e.g. wearable tech? I just think as soon as, as soon as it takes up more than a couple of minutes of your day, just fuck it off. Like if.

• 48:32Jonny?

I think what that question's asking, I think, is like.

• 48:34Chris Williamson?

  Privacy.

• 48:35Jonny?

  Yeah.

• 48:36Chris Williamson?

  Oh.

• 48:36Jonny?

Giving your stuff away, I think.

• 48:38Chris Williamson?

Oh shit, yes, of course it is. Sorry Alfie, I'm fucking my head up my arse.

• 48:41Jonny?

  Yes.

• 48:42Chris Williamson?

  I don't care.

• 48:43Jonny?

  Yeah.

• 48:43Chris Williamson?

I don't give a fuck. Uh, however, twenty three and me and uh ancestry and stuff like that.

• 48:48Jonny?

  Hmm.

• 48:49Chris Williamson?

Uh, apparently there's some people that.

• 48:52Jonny?

Some dodgy shit about that, isn't it?

• 48:52Chris Williamson?

There's some people that are getting convicted for crimes that they've committed because they're able to find the genetic profile through that. Which is like, that's scary shit. Right, we got a good one here. Mister Sanshrew. I ask this already with my own answer, but interested to hear your threes living twenty plus years under the idea that we aren't admired for the depths of our perception. In reference to Chris's favourite writings, Alan Deboten on the high degree of loneliness and its inexorable part of being a sensitive, intelligent human. Do you feel the greater your investment and depth of progress in modern wisdom and correlating practice? The more compounded the sense of loneliness. For want of a better word, follow up. Do, does ignorance, oh. Do you think ignorance really would be bliss?

• 49:38Jonny?

Does he mean ignorance from the, well, obviously you don't know, but like, is it ignorance from the perspective of the root of self-improvement?

• 49:46Chris Williamson?

So the question, the main question here is, do you feel the greater your investment and depth of progress in modern wisdom and correlating practice, the more compounded the sense of loneliness?

• 49:56Jonny?

In, well, I mean, I suppose in the, in the most basic sense, like there are fewer and fewer people who have.

• 50:02Chris Williamson?

  Relatable experiences.

• 50:03Jonny?

  Yeah.

• 50:07Chris Williamson?

Good question. I understand what you're asking. So the, the Alan DeBotten video from the School of Life, which is why we're fated to be lonely, basically says that um people who have subtle contrary or alarming points of view are less likely to be accepted by society at large because of the memetic nature of us as beings and the fact that we're tribal and we want to be accepted, given the choice between honesty and acceptability. Most of us will compromise our honesty in order to be accepted by people that we're around. Uh and the like, long and short of that is that a lot of people compromise who they are so that they can be around people that aren't like them, but just so they're around people. And like, I, I did that for a very long time.

• 50:48Chris Williamson?

The bottom line is, and it's the thing that we continue to come back to with everybody that I speak to, absolutely everyone, from Andrew Doyle, the guy that created it, Tanya McGrath. Uh Sam Harris wrote an entire book on it. Jordan Peterson, it's one of his number one rules. Tell the truth. And if you're telling the truth, you can't, you, it, it, it does, you have to follow whatever that particular calling is. You have to do the thing which calls to you. Um and for me personally, the more tools that I've got in my toolbox, the better I've been actually being effective. Because my sense of solitude, not loneliness, the time that I spend on my own, I love. Like, there are fewer and fewer people that I can

• 51:29Chris Williamson?

really, really genuinely connect with about everything that I do, but there are more people that I can connect with about some things that I do.

• 51:37Jonny?

  Yeah.

• 51:37Chris Williamson?

There's more arms to what I can talk about. I can now go talk about back health. I genuinely have an hours long conversation about back health. I couldn't have done that before I started learning things.

• 51:47Jonny?

  I think you um.

• 51:50Speaker 01

It's the same as like a business serving a niche, right? Like if you try and serve everyone, you end up serving no one. I think you, the people you end up meeting as a result of just going down the route of modern wisdom. And the, the conversations you end up having, like if you put us three in a bar for an evening, you're like, you've got to sit in the bar and just talk about whatever you want. Like, how much of that time would we spend talking about like surface level pointless conversation? Like it would all be like some really deep, like the, the other people walking, oh, what the fuck are you talking about? Like, but you, we end, you end up talking about like the finest details of something that we're all really interested in, that other people may think is weird, but where we're having the best conversation ever, because it's something we're all interested in.

• 52:33Speaker 01

So you, you either have like, talk about like match of the day or something that you really, really deeply passionate about.

• 52:41Jonny?

What about yourself? What do you think?

• 52:42Speaker 01

It's, yeah, you, it's something you have to make a choice about whether you are just hanging around with people for the sake of being with people. And if you're compromising on who you are for that, I think you have, you need to really ask yourself the question of maybe it's better to actually withdraw and um, you know, pursue what you, what you love and, and the, think about, embed yourself in the thoughts and um pursuits that you enjoy. And then you will find people that resonate, like we're in an age where you can find people like that so easily now. Um, if, if you are someone that is feeling lonely and that's something you're aware of, I think personally,

• 53:23Speaker 01

I've not felt loneliness for a long time because I think my life is very much the opposite. Like I'm just getting pounded wherever I, wherever I go. Like turn up at work and you just, like your phone is just going mental and beat your own is in demand and then you come, you come home and you, you know, your messages and your phone and everything's like, so I think for me, I also very much value just alone time because it's like.

• 53:44Chris Williamson?

So I love Cal Newport's definition of solitude, which is time away from the input of other people's thoughts.

• 53:54Jonny?

  Yeah.

• 53:54Chris Williamson?

And there's difference between being on your own and solitude.

• 53:58Jonny?

  Mm hmm.

• 53:59Chris Williamson?

Because you can have all of these things with with and without loneliness, but most people don't actually have solitude. They have their their phone with them while they're on their own. Or they're on their own, but with the TV on or with the radio on or whatever it is. That's not necessarily solitude. Solitude would be you with no other stimulus other than you on output journaling or.

• 54:18Jonny?

And if you're always trying to escape that loneliness by like having something on in the background or whatever, then I suppose that's where you've got to ask yourself the question of. Do I need to sit and think about, hang on, what what can I, what am I not engaging with? Or what I, what should I be engaging with mentally that is.

• 54:36Speaker 01

  That I'm avoiding.

• 54:37Chris Williamson?

Hmm. Um, the follow up of would ignorance be bliss, John Peterson said this at his live show, um, long story short. He says that the thing which poisons you, you need to take enough of for it to be a toxin, to turn a toxin into a tonic. Um, and he says that the progression through these particular issues is not a regression. It's more, it's take more of what it is that you think that poisons you until it becomes a tonic that fixes you.

• 55:05Jonny?

  Hmm.

• 55:05Chris Williamson?

Um, so anyone who knows the um, allegory of the cave, Plato's allegory of the cave, it's that exact story. So just go listen to Plato's allegory of the cave and you'll understand exactly what I mean. I don't think ignorance is bliss, like some people coast through life, but it is both a blessing and a curse to feel everything so very deeply like. And what, like, fuck me, I would much sooner be able to appreciate the beauty of everything with real fidelity and then have to suffer a little bit. Because you don't really live your life on the couch, just chilled out, fucking within the the tightest interquartile range of human experience. Like I'd much sooner die and have highs and lows than have just constantly lived in a bit of comfort.

• 55:42Jonny?

The big, I think the biggest example of this for me was leaving um, corporate life, like leaving nine to five life and being entrepreneur.

• 55:51Chris Williamson?

  Thrown into the fucking ether.

• 55:53Jonny?

Yeah, because that it like, it's quite a lonely experience at times, especially if like you're sat by yourself, something bad happens on your computer screen. And it like sends you into this emotional and like you're just there on your own, you've just got to sit with that experience. Whereas like as an employee, I would, the analogy I would say is like as an entrepreneur, you're like. In a dinghy on the on the top of the the sea while there's a storm happening. If you're an employee, you're like on the riverbed and someone goes, do you know there's a storm up there? Fucking hell, I'm sorry, someone's on it, someone's sorting it. Whereas you're like, you're like.

• 56:25Chris Williamson?

  Trying to like.

• 56:26Jonny?

Fix a hole in the boat.

• 56:27Chris Williamson?

  Yeah.

• 56:30Chris Williamson?

It's a really fucking great analogy.

• 56:33Jonny?

So like, you know, and then you're like, well, you have moments where you're like, it would be easier to just. So that when I think ignorance is bliss, for me, the thing I think of as well, just go sit in an office and like chat to people about. Like Love Island and that's obviously I'm very generalizing, but like versus sat by yourself, looking at a computer screen, fucking terrified about.

• 56:53Chris Williamson?

  Spoon trying to.

• 56:54Jonny?

Yeah, try to watch your tap.

• 56:56Chris Williamson?

Life isn't lived from the comfort you can't try. Um, I got one.

• 56:59Speaker 01

Very, very keen to hear Mr. Sanshu, if you have any examples, normal or very silly, where ignorance would be bliss. Cause I I'd like, it's I think it's a great thought experiment. Like, are there any situations where?

• 57:13Jonny?

  Date of death.

• 57:16Jonny?

  Date and method of death.

• 57:17Speaker 01

So so you reckon that would be, you you'd prefer not to know?

• 57:23Speaker 01

I I I can't think of a situation now. I'm sure there would be where.

• 57:26Chris Williamson?

Fire it in the comments below. We want to hear it. Um, I got.

• 57:30Jonny?

  We'll talk about it.

• 57:30Chris Williamson?

I got one more. I got one more before we go back on to yours. Uh, this is from Andrew Tate. Uh, he is very interesting internet personality and a good online mate of mine. Can I ask if true Geordie regrets doing a hit piece on me? Now everyone knows he loves dildos.

• 57:46Jonny?

  Oh dear.

• 57:47Chris Williamson?

  True Geordie.

• 57:48Speaker 01

  Background of that.

• 57:49Chris Williamson?

So true Geordie's Instagram DMs have been leaked in which he talks at length about liking to be humiliated. About sucking the dick of a black man after it's been inside of this girl that he's talking to. About this girl humiliating him and putting dildos inside of his ass. Um, about him then sucking the dildos after they've been inside of his own ass.

• 58:10Jonny?

  He's he he leaked it.

• 58:11Chris Williamson?

It was all over Twitter, man. That's because you're not on Twitter, but it is everywhere at the moment. And, uh, he called out Andrew Tate. Andrew Tate did this ridiculously big tweet about, uh, why he doesn't like Star Wars. Uh, and it went like hyper viral. Um, and Andrew and Lawrence went at him fairly hard.

• 58:32Jonny?

  Right.

• 58:33Chris Williamson?

Um, and Andrew's recently done a video where he's just like.

• 58:40Jonny?

Just got to be careful, just be careful.

• 58:42Chris Williamson?

Exactly what he said, he's like, man, if you've got shit like this lurking around, don't come after someone like me. Um, I don't know whether, I don't think it's him that leaked it, but.

• 58:50Jonny?

I think the bigger lesson from that is like, people think that when they type something in iMessage or WhatsApp or Instagram DM that like, it's in this little private world that no one's gonna.

• 59:01Chris Williamson?

Fucking screenshot away from being public, yeah, exactly. Uh, what you got? Give us another one. Let's do some quickfire ones, let's move through some ways to get through some of this fucking.

• 59:11Jonny?

Uh, if you could have chosen your own name, what would you have picked?

• 59:16Jonny?

Abdul Balsid, Farmore. Do you believe in mediums?

• 59:20Chris Williamson?

No, no, no, no, come on, come on.

• 59:21Speaker 01

Like, I don't know, I'm quite happy with Yusuf. It's, it's a very common name in the Arab world, but here it's.

• 59:27Chris Williamson?

I was going to be Jonathan.

• 59:29Speaker 01

  Weird, really?

• 59:31Chris Williamson?

I was going to be Jonathan.

• 59:32Speaker 01

  Would you wanted that?

• 59:33Chris Williamson?

I don't mind, Jonathan's, Jonathan's cool name. There's, one of the problems that I have with Jonathan is the number of different ways that there are to spell it. John Athan, John Athon, Jhon, John, Johnny, John, yeah. John, Johnny, John, John, Johnny, John.

• 59:46Speaker 01

The sort of, the Christian, um, connotation of Christopher.

• 59:51Chris Williamson?

  Not bothered.

• 59:52Speaker 01

  Not bothered.

• 59:52Chris Williamson?

  Not bothered.

• 59:54Speaker 01

Jonathan's biblical as well, isn't he?

• 59:57Chris Williamson?

  I don't know. I like Johnny, I don't like Jonathan, but it's a, it's a link to like Jonathan.

• 1:00:03Jonny?

I liked the fact that I've got two versions of my name, Chris and Christopher. So do you get?

• 1:00:08Speaker 01

I suppose you don't have a short version of your name, do you?

• 1:00:11Chris Williamson?

  Seth.

• 1:00:11Jonny?

Yeah, but like, but so, okay, so an example, like, let's say you are like, someone has, has got to know you a bit and they call you Chris, rather than Christopher. Do you have a thing of like, ah?

• 1:00:22Chris Williamson?

  No.

• 1:00:23Jonny?

So I agree with Johnny, definitely. Like, if someone calls me Johnny, it's like, they know me.

• 1:00:28Chris Williamson?

  You suppose Jonathan?

• 1:00:28Jonny?

  Yeah.

• 1:00:29Chris Williamson?

Cause they've all seen you on the internet.

• 1:00:30Jonny?

Yeah, yeah. Whereas if, if I get Jonathan, it's normally in a formal scenario, but Johnny is friends. So if someone in a, like. Um, position of authority calls me Johnny, or like, I'm trying to think of an example.

• 1:00:42Chris Williamson?

Just a good little canary in the coal mine about where they're at.

• 1:00:45Jonny?

  Yeah.

• 1:00:46Chris Williamson?

Like, do the coaches in class call you Jonathan, but when they're out of class call you Johnny?

• 1:00:49Jonny?

  Johnny.

• 1:00:50Chris Williamson?

  That's good.

• 1:00:50Jonny?

  They call me Johnny.

• 1:00:51Chris Williamson?

Uh, what was that? Do we believe in mediums?

• 1:00:53Jonny?

Yeah, uh, where's it gone? Do you believe in mediums? Do you think there is some actual science behind their practices?

• 1:00:58Chris Williamson?

  No.

• 1:00:59Jonny?

  Darren Brown.

• 1:01:00Chris Williamson?

  Hmm.

• 1:01:01Jonny?

Go watch loads of Darren Brown. Uh, we went to Iceland and all we did was just watch loads of Darren Brown. I loved Darren Brown.

• 1:01:07Chris Williamson?

There was a blizzard. Uh, are you going to grow?

• 1:01:09Jonny?

  It's a fucking blizzard.

• 1:01:10Chris Williamson?

It was a blizzard. Are you going to grow your hair again? No. The best type of male underwear, grenade wear or smuggling duds? Um, what is the funniest thing you have ever seen a stranger do? Fuck me.

• 1:01:24Jonny?

  Oh.

• 1:01:26Chris Williamson?

  Wow.

• 1:01:26Jonny?

I reckon you'll have seen, uh, there was one that you said the other day.

• 1:01:32Chris Williamson?

Excuse me, I'm not being funny, right?

• 1:01:34Jonny?

  Oh, God.

• 1:01:35Chris Williamson?

The brain problem? That's fairly funny.

• 1:01:37Jonny?

  The, oh, yeah.

• 1:01:39Chris Williamson?

We've had so many things happen at events we've been to where at the time, the event isn't that funny, but retrospectively, you're like, fucking hilarious.

• 1:01:47Jonny?

But I can't, none that would like translate on this.

• 1:01:49Chris Williamson?

  It's not straight.

• 1:01:50Jonny?

Believe in mediums, by the way.

• 1:01:51Chris Williamson?

  Do you?

• 1:01:52Jonny?

Yeah, but not, not any, anyone that advertises themselves to be one isn't one. I think if you're at the point where you can, you're starting to like, see glimmers of things that are outside of you, human reality, you'll be deep in a cave somewhere, not really caring about trying to prove it to anyone.

• 1:02:14Jonny?

So by the time you're a medium, for anyone listening, if you're a medium, you will know and you won't give a shit.

• 1:02:19Jonny?

You're gonna be so off the deep end that.

• 1:02:21Chris Williamson?

  Yeah, you're right.

• 1:02:22Jonny?

  I'm speaking of spirits.

• 1:02:24Chris Williamson?

Do you know what I mean?

• 1:02:25Jonny?

  Yeah.

• 1:02:25Chris Williamson?

You're like rubbing your face on the ground in the weeds, like.

• 1:02:27Jonny?

Like, what do you have to gain from like being like, oh, mate, I can.

• 1:02:30Chris Williamson?

Cause you chat to dead people.

• 1:02:32Jonny?

  Yeah.

• 1:02:32Chris Williamson?

But if, if you, if you can charge for hours. That is a very good point. If you, if you're a medium and you have access to the entire history of all dead people, what the fuck are you speaking to Sharon's mum for?

• 1:02:43Jonny?

Oh, yeah. God, that's so true.

• 1:02:45Chris Williamson?

Fuck it, cause Nicola Tesla's out there and you're, you're chatting.

• 1:02:49Jonny?

When you put it like that, it is completely ridiculous. Completely ridiculous, especially when all the. Bruce Lee. All the people are like, well, you know, Sharon, she's here, there's a calling, there's a calling.

• 1:03:02Speaker 01

There's someone with an H, H and N, is it Harold or Harry or?

• 1:03:07Jonny?

Harry Hermione, it's Hermione I thought it was. Yeah.

• 1:03:10Chris Williamson?

  They're all scouts.

• 1:03:12Jonny?

It's just the guy on Darren Brown who got absolutely hung, drawn and caulked by. Oh, you got, yeah, you got done, didn't you?

• 1:03:18Chris Williamson?

That's funniest thing you've ever seen a stranger do, it wasn't a stranger, but drove Darren home after the staff Christmas party a couple of years ago. Uh, and I saw him throw up on the ground on Jesmond Back Road. And then as he came up from throwing up, he threw up again, standing upright. And the force of him throwing up laterally pushed him backwards and he fell over in mud.

• 1:03:39Jonny?

  Oh, God.

• 1:03:40Chris Williamson?

Um, that was fucking, at the time, side splitting in the hilarious.

• 1:03:44Jonny?

Something that, so related to that, this, this, this is just something that occurs to me that was funny at the time. I was eighteen, I was in basement in Newcastle, e- everyone was drinking Skittles and Trebles. And we had this thing where it was called a TP or tactical puke, probably heard of that. Tactical chendo. So you, you just keep going to keep going. So we're out in the alleyway and the three of us are making ourselves be sick. Successful. So then everyone's like, you know, fingers on the throat and it's like, and then like one person goes. And that encourages number two to be sick and number three to be sick. And there was a guy walking down the alley at the time. Who, sober, not on a night out, saw us being sick and consequently was sick.

• 1:04:25Chris Williamson?

Just like saw it and just the smell and he, I just saw him go.

• 1:04:31Speaker 01

  Sympathy bomb.

• 1:04:32Chris Williamson?

  Brilliant.

• 1:04:33Speaker 01

  That is incredible.

• 1:04:33Chris Williamson?

  Brilliant.

• 1:04:34Jonny?

I feel like I've always been the person doing the weird thing rather than. Yeah, you do some fucking funny things.

• 1:04:40Speaker 01

But the, the, I love the idea of the sympathy bomb because it's like, it, it, he can't then blame you.

• 1:04:46Jonny?

Oh, what did you, you know, when you were up, when you see someone be sick and it's the smell of it and someone's like, palms out and be like. Oh. And it's right, it's right in the back of your throat where you smell it, isn't it? It's like up there. And then him being sick like makes you want to be sick again and they're using this self fulfilling, everyone's just fucking thrown up for hours. That was very funny. Johnny, what we got? Let's do, let's keep on moving through these. Oh, God, no, not that. Um, someone wants to hear, Matt Hoy wants to hear your nocturnal emissions story.

• 1:05:16Speaker 01

Oh, it's in Vipassana ten day retreat.

• 1:05:19Jonny?

Uh, yeah, god, yeah. Long story short, Yusuf was on a silent meditation retreat, uh, wasn't allowed to think about sex or. You're not allowed to, you weren't allowed to masturbate.

• 1:05:30Speaker 01

Didn't you have a day in the retreat where just all you thought about was sex?

• 1:05:33Jonny?

  Yeah. Was that the day?

• 1:05:35Speaker 01

Uh, I think it was the day after, yeah. So, um, Daniel Ingram says that, cause I, I thought like, cause I remember David describing this and like, day one is, is sadness, day two is fear, day three, and.

• 1:05:45Jonny?

  Day three is porn.

• 1:05:47Speaker 01

And, uh, I, I said this to Daniel Ingram, who's like the guy who's like, completed meditation and he was like, yeah, that's, that, that's what happens. He's like, that's the anatomy of the mind. Like everyone has that exact. Sequence of, of emotions that go through on each of the 10 days.

• 1:06:01Jonny?

I don't think I've ever had a wet dream and you have on a meditation retreat.

• 1:06:04Speaker 01

You have them, you have them constantly, don't you? Yeah, you've, you've never had that.

• 1:06:07Jonny?

  I've never had them either.

• 1:06:08Speaker 01

It's if, if, if you just.

• 1:06:09Jonny?

If you've had a wet dream, comment below.

• 1:06:12Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 1:06:12Jonny?

  I, I, of my friends that I've had this conversation with, I think it's 50 50 split.

• 1:06:16Speaker 01

  Really?

• 1:06:16Jonny?

Yeah, quite a lot of people have. What's going on?

• 1:06:18Speaker 01

  I know.

• 1:06:19Jonny?

Having to cum in my pants.

• 1:06:21Speaker 01

  Yeah, I've done a cum.

• 1:06:23Jonny?

I did a cum in my pants.

• 1:06:25Speaker 01

You woke up in a bunk bed after having done a cum.

• 1:06:27Jonny?

And then drop kicked a man with cum in your pants.

• 1:06:30Speaker 01

  A French man.

• 1:06:31Jonny?

You couldn't speak to him. Couldn't even apologize.

• 1:06:33Speaker 01

Oh, yeah, cause you, you're not allowed to.

• 1:06:35Jonny?

  But you just like.

• 1:06:36Speaker 01

  I just kept laughing.

• 1:06:37Jonny?

The thing I love about that is that, cause the whole idea of not making eye contact is that you don't like fuck with anyone's chi, isn't it? Like you don't. You've, you've drop kicked a man with cum in your pants.

• 1:06:47Speaker 01

And for the rest of the week, whenever you walk past him, you burst out laughing. Like if there's a way to fuck with someone's. But the, the problem is it was like a mad, mad laugh. I, I just couldn't, like, I couldn't contain myself.

• 1:07:01Chris Williamson?

And so he was sort of, I was like knocking him relentlessly.

• 1:07:03Jonny?

Well, exactly. So he's gonna go sit and meditate for 10 hours that day and all he can think about is that weird bloke who looks like that pirate from the.

• 1:07:11Chris Williamson?

Fucking Captain Man who looked like Captain Hook. Yes, it's him.

• 1:07:15Jonny?

The guy with Smee who keeps stopping me from getting to Neverland. He drop kicked me, fucking me up with a comb running down his leg.

• 1:07:22Chris Williamson?

Um, right. Um, if you're using creatine, should I use it on non-training days?

• 1:07:27Jonny?

  Yes.

• 1:07:27Chris Williamson?

  Just propanfitness.com forward slash creatine.

• 1:07:30Jonny?

  Yeah.

• 1:07:30Chris Williamson?

How is the Propan Fitness space program progressing?

• 1:07:33Jonny?

  Space program?

• 1:07:33Chris Williamson?

  That's a question.

• 1:07:34Jonny?

  Did we?

• 1:07:35Chris Williamson?

  Casper Sorensen.

• 1:07:37Jonny?

  Casper.

• 1:07:38Chris Williamson?

It's because in your, one of your slides is a sort of a spaceman tumbling, doing this tumbling.

• 1:07:44Jonny?

Jesus Christ, that is such a attention to detail.

• 1:07:47Chris Williamson?

  High fidelity attention. Yeah, exactly.

• 1:07:49Jonny?

  Why Johnny's legs so long?

• 1:07:50Chris Williamson?

Why Johnny's legs so long? Ob's from Glass. Because powerlifting. Um, why?

• 1:07:54Jonny?

  Who's that?

• 1:07:55Chris Williamson?

  Ob, uh, because powerlifting.

• 1:07:57Jonny?

  Tom Wilkes.

• 1:07:58Chris Williamson?

  Oh, right. Tom Wilkes Booth.

• 1:08:00Jonny?

  Yeah.

• 1:08:00Chris Williamson?

The guy with the, who's even made his last name powerlifting related. So it's not the Wilkes formula anymore, it's the IPF formula.

• 1:08:07Jonny?

  Okay.

• 1:08:08Chris Williamson?

Um, who is the coolest person who listens to Modern Wisdom? My mum. My mum listens to Modern Wisdom.

• 1:08:15Jonny?

Your mum likes all our shit on Facebook as well.

• 1:08:17Chris Williamson?

Fucking great. Honestly, she's biggest fan. Coolest person that you know that listens to Modern Wisdom? Any cool people that you know that have said, oh, I listen to that?

• 1:08:24Jonny?

I don't know. There's, there's a lot of people who I'm meeting in the CrossFit gym who listen to Modern Wisdom, who love it.

• 1:08:28Chris Williamson?

  Yeah, man.

• 1:08:30Jonny?

I mean, are they all cool? I suppose they are.

• 1:08:31Chris Williamson?

Some of them are fucking fit. Uh, if you were to pick a favorite Modern Wisdom episode from the last 100 that we've done, what would it be? Any that stand out?

• 1:08:43Chris Williamson?

How to Survive University continues to come back as a fucking belter. Cause I just wish I'd had it.

• 1:08:48Jonny?

I enjoyed Business 101. I enjoyed the first Business 1. Just because I think those stories are always like, at the time, not funny at all. Like when, when things go wrong, not funny at all, but afterwards hilarious.

• 1:09:00Chris Williamson?

  It's true.

• 1:09:00Jonny?

Life Hacks 107 was very good as well, I remember, but, um.

• 1:09:05Chris Williamson?

Could you talk about some life hacks?

• 1:09:06Jonny?

  We, yeah, we.

• 1:09:07Chris Williamson?

It was, Life Hacks 107 was where we really went off. I think it's like an hour and 40. It was like a real, proper motherfucker one. Uh.

• 1:09:15Jonny?

We're done with our questions. Unless, hold on, oh god.

• 1:09:18Chris Williamson?

Christ. Oh, the second one. Yeah. Uh, how to, one.

• 1:09:24Chris Williamson?

Uh, how to start improving the value of your inner circle and stepping away from negative slash passive people.

• 1:09:33Chris Williamson?

Be friends with people that want the best for you. Jordan Peterson all over again. Just.

• 1:09:36Jonny?

In terms of how you do that, someone asked us a question today about like, how do you improve your network? And I just said, um.

• 1:09:46Jonny?

For me, it's always been the gym, I think, where I've met the most interesting people.

Like, if you want to meet interesting people, go to interesting places. I'm not saying the gym's an interesting place, but like, you can say for fairly sure, as long as you're not going to like.

• 1:10:02Jonny?

A class, an exercise class, whatever. Like, if you go to something that you're interested in, if there is, you'll probably find someone who's interested in the same thing. They're probably also interested in other self-development things and.

• 1:10:11Speaker 01

So, so I think that you'll find those people, yeah, if you go to the hangout of the interest for that thing. And you're more likely to find a higher quality people within that if you join something that's behind a paywall. So if you join a mentorship or a gym or something that's exclusive. But it's for people that, because they've all put their money where their mouth is and they've all like. Decided to enter into a, a network or something to really take things faster.

• 1:10:40Chris Williamson?

George McGill, when does Johnny plan on using Snapchat ads?

• 1:10:44Jonny?

  Really ask that?

• 1:10:45Chris Williamson?

  Jesus Christ.

• 1:10:47Jonny?

  I'm not answering that question.

• 1:10:48Chris Williamson?

There you go. I'm sorry, George.

• 1:10:50Jonny?

It's a good suggestion, yours. I'm looking into it.

• 1:10:52Chris Williamson?

Social Commando, what are your thoughts on Insta removing the follower and like numbers? Fine. I don't like the idea of follower because I think that it is a, an indicator of credibility.

• 1:11:06Speaker 01

Hmm. Do they think they're gonna do that?

• 1:11:08Chris Williamson?

They're trying the removal of likes. I think there's no like counter in Australia. Um, they can't remove comments, surely, because then you can't comment.

• 1:11:16Jonny?

As in you can't see the number of comments?

• 1:11:19Chris Williamson?

  Okay, you can count them.

• 1:11:20Jonny?

You just can't see the, yeah, you can't see the engagement basically on posts on Instagram.

• 1:11:24Chris Williamson?

  That's interesting.

• 1:11:25Speaker 01

I wonder why they're doing that.

• 1:11:26Jonny?

In, in influencer stuff and younger people being obsessed with it.

• 1:11:30Chris Williamson?

  It's allowing to like.

• 1:11:31Jonny?

Yeah, it's an interesting experiment. Like, I think it's affected a lot of influencers negatively. But.

• 1:11:37Chris Williamson?

Well, that's that's that's their credibility, right? Their credibility.

• 1:11:40Jonny?

  It's a currency, isn't it?

• 1:11:41Chris Williamson?

Exactly. Uh, Yusuf made a big career U-turn. How did he make that big decision and implement it?

• 1:11:47Jonny?

I think we discussed this in Business Principles one or two. Definitely worth listening back to.

• 1:11:51Chris Williamson?

Yep. You just said, fuck it, I'm sick.

• 1:11:54Jonny?

It was, yeah, it was pain avoidance rather than um some kind of noble motivation to, yeah.

• 1:12:01Chris Williamson?

Uh, you're all successful professionals. These are from tricky Ricky.

• 1:12:04Jonny?

  Professionals.

• 1:12:05Chris Williamson?

So you are all sexual professionals and within fitness, nutrition, meal prep. And within, okay, uh, nutrition, meal prep hacks and tips. Slow cooker.

• 1:12:17Jonny?

  Hold on, what's the question?

• 1:12:18Chris Williamson?

I'm not sure about the first bit, just nutrition slash meal prep hacks and tips.

• 1:12:21Jonny?

  Drop it, Johnny, drop it.

• 1:12:23Chris Williamson?

  Slow cooker.

• 1:12:24Jonny?

  Yeah.

• 1:12:25Chris Williamson?

Um, for me, removing gluten, removing like big sources of gluten and dairy has helped, like.

• 1:12:30Jonny?

I can't believe you just said that, Chris.

• 1:12:32Speaker 01

You used to eat a lot of pasta, didn't you?

• 1:12:33Chris Williamson?

I've just switched it to different starch caps.

• 1:12:36Jonny?

Right. Did you go like um Violet Bollard in Willy Wonka?

• 1:12:41Chris Williamson?

  No, just a little bit.

• 1:12:42Jonny?

It'll be a little bit of a thing. Did that not happen to you? That, that's what happened to me that one time.

• 1:12:50Jonny?

And I remember that actually I'm not celiac and it's fine.

• 1:12:55Jonny?

  You listen to me.

• 1:12:58Chris Williamson?

We all occasionally have epically fail slash down days slash get pissed off. How do you deal with them?

• 1:13:04Jonny?

  Change your state.

• 1:13:05Speaker 01

  Mm hmm. Change your temperature.

• 1:13:08Jonny?

So move. So here's an interesting thing. We wanted to chat to you about this. Ages ago, you said, I get the same zero one foot um mentality shift from training. I mean, you said, but with CrossFit, you definitely do. And it's, I think it's because.

• 1:13:27Jonny?

You get, there is a definitely finished session like, and you're immediately in a bad mood and you're immediately forgotten what you're worrying about before.

• 1:13:35Chris Williamson?

  Yeah.

• 1:13:35Jonny?

So that's what made me go back to like, just get up, like go for a run, move, do something, change your temperature, cold shower, hot shower, coffee. The common. Listen to bare tooth album.

• 1:13:47Chris Williamson?

Yeah, the, the, the commonality there is get out of your head and into your body.

• 1:13:50Jonny?

  Yeah.

• 1:13:50Chris Williamson?

  And then.

• 1:13:51Jonny?

Yeah, that, I mean, I said, the quote is, I get a better mindset reset from training than I do from a night's sleep.

• 1:13:59Chris Williamson?

  Yeah.

• 1:14:00Jonny?

Um, and that's true. My, I have more, I wonder whether this has actually been made worse by my meditation practice, the fact that my, my emotions are a little bit more transparent to me now and, and concentration, clarity and equanimity. I'm trying to hold them with more of that.

• 1:14:13Chris Williamson?

  Hmm.

• 1:14:14Jonny?

Which actually means that they're more visceral and they're more at the forefront of everything. Um, but yeah, just go train. Um, I have like real depressive episodes, which I, I haven't had, thankfully I haven't had really that much recently. So, um, when it's those ones. Uh, it's a, there's not really much of a solution. Like when it's a proper can't get out of bed day.

• 1:14:36Jonny?

Try and get out of bed, try and go for a little walk. I did a tweet not long ago that said, um, almost all of the problems in my life can be fixed by a 10 minute walk, a good night's sleep, a glass of water or a wank.

• 1:14:50Chris Williamson?

  I do all at once.

• 1:14:52Jonny?

Actually, a guy to follow for that sort of stuff is Paul Maud.

• 1:14:55Chris Williamson?

  There's a.

• 1:14:55Jonny?

He's was diagnosed with bipolar, you said?

• 1:15:00Chris Williamson?

  Yeah.

• 1:15:01Jonny?

Um, had like professional help, but now, um, like self-managers and he has a lot of stuff about state change and his, I think his quote is like, where attention, where attention goes, energy flows. So he does a lot of stuff about like focusing on, you feel that way. So it's like, right, what's a win I've had today? Like, I'm just going to focus on, I'm just going to put all my energy into this thing or you know, go, he like goes in, gets in his car and plays music really loud and goes for a drive.

• 1:15:30Chris Williamson?

  Yeah.

• 1:15:30Jonny?

You can, you can immediately think like, ah, actually.

• 1:15:34Chris Williamson?

Uh. What do you, what do you think is the biggest factor in sticking to your goals and avoiding getting distracted?

• 1:15:44Chris Williamson?

That's from Jake. You need to know what your goals are, but I'm terrible. I've never done proper, genuine, long-term planning for goals, ever.

• 1:15:53Speaker 01

  I just think you can.

• 1:15:55Chris Williamson?

But I've never done it. I've never even done any sort of more like moderately formalized process. Like the closest that I've come is future authoring from Jordan Peterson and I did half of the course. So I just. Sticking to your goals requires you to have goals. And unless you go through a process of working out what it is that you want and then deciding how you even begin to move towards that. You just like 90% of people will say, I don't achieve or I haven't achieved my goals. And you say, okay, what are your goals? And they won't have an answer.

• 1:16:27Speaker 01

So this is the quote that Chris often quotes, which is, "He who has the right why can bear almost any how." From Nietzsche. And like, yeah, if you know what the high level thing that you're aiming for is, then putting those jigsaw pieces into place becomes much more effortless because it's all with a greater purpose in mind. Whereas if you wake up and you're just falling into it.

• 1:16:53Chris Williamson?

The thing that made me feel like a prick was the quote from James Smith, James Smith, James Clear. Where he's like, or someone rephrased it where it's like everyone on the start line of the 100 meters Olympics has the goal to win the 100 meters. But one of them wins and the only, the difference is not the goal, the difference is the process.

• 1:17:17Chris Williamson?

Spend all this time like setting these goals in your life, you're like, actually.

• 1:17:22Chris Williamson?

Like Bill Gates has got a goal, like probably similar business goals, like grow his business, but he really, he really achieves it. Nat Eilish has a great rebuttal to that, that systems without goals are pointless.

• 1:17:34Jonny?

Systems like that. So that the system has to have a be attached to something. I so I agree with that. Yeah.

• 1:17:39Chris Williamson?

It's really good. Really nice compliment to that. Um. The ever accepting nature of the CrossFit community, where does it come from? Or is the CrossFit member base the most affluent fitness consumers on earth?

• 1:17:53Jonny?

There's probably a bit of that.

• 1:17:54Chris Williamson?

So CrossFit is quite an elitist, like quite a, especially in the UK, it's pretty privileged. Like very white, very middle class, at least in our gym. And where are we? You know, we're in the thick of Newcastle.

• 1:18:07Jonny?

Centre of Newcastle, isn't it essentially?

• 1:18:09Chris Williamson?

  Hardly hardly in that Toffsville.

• 1:18:11Jonny?

  It's under Dallas carpet.

• 1:18:12Chris Williamson?

Yeah, it is indeed. Yeah, it's a, that is a good, that is a good point. I think one of the other things is that CrossFit's branded itself as it looks cool. Like if you dress like a powerlifter outside of the gym, people walk on the other side of the street to you. If you dress like a CrossFitter outside of the gym, you look like someone that does fitness. Do you know what I mean?

• 1:18:33Jonny?

  Yeah.

• 1:18:33Chris Williamson?

It's a commercially acceptable face of powerlifting, strength sports, endurance. Like you don't have to wear tights, you don't have to wear a wetsuit, you don't have to wear like weird heavy metal t-shirts and like a beard and.

• 1:18:45Jonny?

  It's it's very, um.

• 1:18:46Chris Williamson?

  Esoteric.

• 1:18:51Jonny?

  It's just a little like.

• 1:18:55Jonny?

Yeah, it's surgical. Um, I've certainly felt extremely welcomed and I didn't expect that. I thought I'd get like, who's this guy who, you know, big three hundred kilo deadlift, like, well, let's show him.

• 1:19:08Chris Williamson?

  Yeah.

• 1:19:09Jonny?

But it's been the opposite of that. It's been, um, you know, like coaches, like taking extra time to explain something like, I can't do a toaster bar. Like, how bad is that? But explaining it to me. But the, I think for me, it's the, it's the branding. Probably like they make it look aspirational. You don't watch, you don't even watch Olympic lifting on TV. It's probably the, like Olympic lifting and strong man. Not many people sit and watch like Brian Shaw at Christmas and think, fuck me, I want to look like Brian Shaw. Or like, oh, Brian Shaw's like, they look at the guy like, oh, God, like, imagine that he's gonna have a bad back. Whereas you watch like the CrossFit documentaries and you think like Rich Froning just looks badass. Like you can do all this stuff. He looks good.

• 1:19:52Chris Williamson?

  Healthy.

• 1:19:53Jonny?

  Healthy.

• 1:19:53Chris Williamson?

Yeah. Good, like rounded family life.

• 1:19:55Jonny?

  Yeah.

• 1:19:56Chris Williamson?

Like you hear the stories about Eddie Hall. Like where he was at.

• 1:20:00Jonny?

  He shredded now.

• 1:20:00Chris Williamson?

When he was, yeah, he's getting proper shreddy. But when he was at the peak of his career, he was like, he was, he was pretty adamant with another six months, his marriage would have been fucked.

• 1:20:08Jonny?

He had like multiple heart attacks as well.

• 1:20:10Chris Williamson?

He was fucked, you know, fully fucked.

• 1:20:11Jonny?

  Strong back.

• 1:20:12Chris Williamson?

Have you got, I've seen that you've got some new ones on the second story.

• 1:20:15Jonny?

Uh, yeah, uh, what would be your ultimate life hack? Which you already kind of covered.

• 1:20:20Chris Williamson?

  Yeah.

• 1:20:20Jonny?

  Um.

• 1:20:23Speaker 01

  Smart up.

• 1:20:24Jonny?

Yeah. Should trans athletes be allowed to compete as the gender they identify as?

• 1:20:29Speaker 01

So I really like Joe Rogan's perspective on this.

• 1:20:32Jonny?

I don't know what that is.

• 1:20:33Speaker 01

Which is the, um, with, with combat sports particularly, we need to be very careful about, um, is, is it progressive to allow someone who has been physiologically a man for thirty years and transitioned very recently to beat up a woman when there is an unfair combat advantage in terms of reflexes, um, total muscle mass.

• 1:20:56Jonny?

So that's hinged on this idea that it's someone's biological capabilities influenced by the gender they were at birth, or like the sex they were, I don't know. I'd be saying it wrong, but you know what I mean?

• 1:21:09Speaker 01

Yeah, like the, the, the, you know, if, if you, if you take gender out of it and you say you have two humans

• 1:21:15Jonny?

  Mm hmm.

• 1:21:16Speaker 01

competing in a combat sport, one of them's had thirty years of testosterone and then stopped the testosterone. And that's influenced their physiology in such a way that they have an unfair advantage. Is that fair from a sporting perspective? And I think it, you've got to really separate the, um, sociocultural issues of, of gender and gender politics from, um, just the pure sporting judgment.

• 1:21:42Jonny?

  Mm hmm. Or just hormones.

• 1:21:44Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 1:21:44Jonny?

Like hormones are one of the most important things in competitive sport.

• 1:21:48Speaker 01

  What's why.

• 1:21:48Jonny?

Like why the fucking hell, like this is into like dick pound.

• 1:21:52Chris Williamson?

Which is the head of WADA, or like maybe he was, like Dick Pound has sat there and he is, all he is thinking about is,

• 1:21:58Jonny?

What are we allowing people to have in their bodies and not have in their bodies?

• 1:22:02Chris Williamson?

And then you take, as you say, like someone who's had thirty years of high levels of testosterone, and then they decide to compete with women.

• 1:22:11Jonny?

So you've got two things running up against each other, which is one, someone's right to express the gender identity that they feel they should express in a sport that they love, and the other is.

• 1:22:21Chris Williamson?

  Sporting fairness.

• 1:22:22Jonny?

  Yeah.

• 1:22:23Chris Williamson?

Because it doesn't, it doesn't, yeah, even before all of the safety things, it's like a hundred meter sprint. The, I think the, uh, even in, I think it might be golf or tennis, it's in tennis. Like the thousandth man in the world would beat Serena Williams, apparently.

• 1:22:40Jonny?

  Right.

• 1:22:41Chris Williamson?

  And like.

• 1:22:43Jonny?

Is, but they play, like, I don't know whether this is the same thing, but they play like a different volume of tennis, don't they? Male and female tennis players.

• 1:22:50Chris Williamson?

  It's a totally different tactic, I think.

• 1:22:51Jonny?

But even if you just look at the raw data, it's like, look at the hundred meter times of the men and the women. Let's say you allow one of those men to assign themselves as a woman and compete in the women, female Olympics. Is that fair on the female athletes who were competing last year?

• 1:23:07Chris Williamson?

Well, there was a, there was a weightlifter, wasn't there, that transitioned? Laurel Hubbard. Laurel, was it the, like, clean and jerk one thirty in the, like, top weight category, which for a man is a crap clean and jerk.

• 1:23:18Jonny?

Higher, higher than, higher than normal testosterone levels, was that, was that that thing?

• 1:23:23Chris Williamson?

Oh, I, I thought it was someone who, I, no. A person called Laurel Hubbard was one of the big weightlifting things. So I had a fairly lengthy discussion with Zuby about this. He was a guy who tweeted saying, uh, people say there's no biological difference, uh, between men and women. Um, watch me smash the world women's deadlift record. Uh, P S I identified as a woman, so by, while doing this, don't be a bigot.

• 1:23:52Chris Williamson?

And he pulled two thirty sumo and that is forty kilos under his max, but ten kilos over the woman's in that weight category, in the correct weight category. The question that I haven't actually got around to speaking about, I spoke to Andrew Doyle about this as well, is the other side of the debate, which is, what do you do as a trans athlete? Like, if you're a man who's transitioned to be a woman, and you're a boxer, and you want to box, who the fuck do you box?

• 1:24:19Speaker 01

I remember Ben Torme was talking about this with someone, saying that, like, we just maybe need to use a different definition of male, female, like, I don't know whether it's basing it on chromosomes or basing it on something, something that's not the way that we currently define it.

• 1:24:35Chris Williamson?

The problem is this, there's a lack of clarity between what male as X, X, X, Y definition with tied in with hormone profile and gender expression or gender identity is. And then you're trying to fit these square pegs into round holes that work for sport.

• 1:24:53Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 1:24:53Chris Williamson?

And this is where the difficulty lies. And fifty percent of the difficulty of when people are having these discussions is that people play linguistic tricks. And they go, right, well, you've said woman, do you not mean woman? Or Matt, and you're like, oh, man.

• 1:25:08Speaker 01

People just want to get offended by it.

• 1:25:09Chris Williamson?

Give over. I want to have a discussion about.

• 1:25:11Speaker 01

It's a difficult thing to navigate, like, you try talking about it, it's a difficult thing to get, say the right things and express it in the right way.

• 1:25:17Chris Williamson?

It's even more difficult when people want to get offended, though. They're just waiting for you to slip up, you fucking bigot, you fucking transphobe.

• 1:25:25Speaker 01

Especially when they have an opinion, and if you express an opinion that isn't their opinion, you're immediately unfair.

• 1:25:30Chris Williamson?

No, man, just think of something different to you. So, yeah, that's, that's definitely one of the things. But, yeah, the question of, like, do you then, obviously, it would be fairly prejudiced to segregate trans across and say, right, okay, here's a male to female and a female to male category that you can only go, I mean, that's going to be so whittled down that, yeah, it's going to be a terrible sport to watch or be involved in, because you're never going to find someone who's of a similar capacity to you. But it's fraught to try and continue to fit these things into the existing. Setups.

• 1:26:02Jonny?

Because there has to be parameters for sport, like it it isn't sport if it's just anyone can do whatever the fuck they want. Because then it's unfair.

• 1:26:09Chris Williamson?

I know I weighed into the one oh fives at one twenty by identify as one oh five.

• 1:26:12Jonny?

Yeah, like, can I identify as a seventy four? That would help me immensely. I'd win.

• 1:26:18Chris Williamson?

  Everything.

• 1:26:19Jonny?

So it's like, there is a parameter that is set in stone because it's a number on a scale. And Wilks and, you know, the hundred meter time, all these things are data points that cannot be argued with, but because this is, this is still a parameter which affects the fairness of the game that is being played. But because there's an emotional aspect to it, it gets very tense very quickly.

• 1:26:42Chris Williamson?

It's the it's the Ben Shapiro question, right? Why aren't you sixty?

• 1:26:48Jonny?

  Yeah.

• 1:26:49Chris Williamson?

  Why aren't you sixty?

• 1:26:50Jonny?

  It's, yeah, well, because I'm I'm not.

• 1:26:52Chris Williamson?

  Yeah.

• 1:26:52Jonny?

Yeah. Is it Jordan Peterson? He's like, are you a tree? No.

• 1:26:59Jonny?

Why not? Because you're not a tree. Okay, well, okay, we're getting somewhere.

• 1:27:04Chris Williamson?

  Yeah.

• 1:27:04Jonny?

  Terrible impression.

• 1:27:05Chris Williamson?

The Shapiro, the Shapiro mum is like, are you sixty? Why aren't you sixty? And the girl says, well, because there's, there's, there's not, there's, there's a bit of a difference between what I am now and and being sixty. And he says, yes, there is, but there is a much bigger difference between you being a woman and you being a man. Um, and the problem with this is that because of how militant some active voices have been on the left on this issue, what you will do is you will, like, just put in, like in volleyball, it's like that little setup before the spike.

• 1:27:37Jonny?

  Yep.

• 1:27:38Chris Williamson?

And then someone like some motherfucker like Peterson or Harris or Shapiro is going to come in and they're going to eviscerate someone and make sure they're silly. And then, and then what's going to happen is they're going to be accused of being insensitive, which perhaps they've.

• 1:27:54Jonny?

They delivered it in a sensitive way.

• 1:27:56Chris Williamson?

Yes. And then it's like, oh, well, now, and they go back and then it creates this game of tennis.

• 1:28:00Speaker 01

Well, yeah, like, and I think like, this is why I think like, I, I mean, I'm a clinician, I'm a scientist, I'm not interested in really in the, in the gender politics. And it's like, okay, so if we wanna, if it's a real question, someone's actually interested in how do we judge sport, then it's like, right, what is the fundamental premise that we are saying here, we're saying we have two divisions, men, men and women. First of all, should we have two divisions split up like that? That's the first question. The next one is, is there a objective difference between men and women? Is there a biological difference? And that point alone is still being debated, like, there's still people that believe that there is

• 1:28:37Chris Williamson?

  No.

• 1:28:38Speaker 01

No biological difference between men and women.

• 1:28:40Chris Williamson?

It's just the way that they're socialized as children.

• 1:28:42Speaker 01

So, so then you're like, okay, well, I mean, that's, that's fine to believe. If you, if you wanna believe that on your own, but then do you have any problem taking testosterone for thirty years, or do you have any problem like competing in a?

• 1:28:56Chris Williamson?

Well, if you ask those people, like, okay, well, should we allow drugs and sports? Like, is Lance Armstrong was, was what, did what, what he was doing, is that okay?

• 1:29:03Speaker 01

Well, it's fine because it wouldn't make a difference having testosterone or not, because it's, it doesn't, there's no, so, so I think because of the fundamental premise isn't really clearly fleshed out, then it means you can't move any further forward because.

• 1:29:14Chris Williamson?

It's like that quote, um, of like, um, calories in, calories out is like gravity. And if you're saying you don't believe in gravity, then I have no interest in like getting in your plane. Whatever, I've butchered it, but you know what I mean? Like, there, there are fundamental things that have to be like, all right, fine, gravity exists. Now let's talk about.

• 1:29:31Speaker 01

Even with, even with all of those things, right? And I said this to Andrew Doyle and to Zuby, I was like, this whole trans athletes in sports thing is a fucking very highly charged minefield. And I'm incredibly glad that I don't need to try and litigate it. Like, can you imagine if you're the man who has to work out whether or not transitioning athletes should be?

• 1:29:54Chris Williamson?

  Dick Pound.

• 1:29:55Speaker 01

  Dick Pound.

• 1:29:56Chris Williamson?

  He'll be up there.

• 1:29:56Speaker 01

  Dick.

• 1:29:57Chris Williamson?

He'll be on the board as part of deciding.

• 1:29:59Speaker 01

  Pounding. Yeah, difficult job.

• 1:30:00Chris Williamson?

A, a, a, uh, kind of adjacent question to this. Toxic masculinity in quotation marks, this is from Luke, uh, toxic masculinity. Who's to blame more for its creation, men or women?

• 1:30:16Speaker 01

So what, what is toxic masculinity?

• 1:30:17Chris Williamson?

Doesn't exist, as far as I'm concerned.

• 1:30:19Speaker 01

Yeah, I'm not, I'm not sure I'm clearing it.

• 1:30:20Chris Williamson?

But toxic masculinity is, um, the over bet.

• 1:30:25Chris Williamson?

Overexpression of typically masculine traits to a tyrannical or oppressive level, I suppose.

• 1:30:34Jonny?

  So mansplaining, manspreading.

• 1:30:36Chris Williamson?

Everything with man in it. Manchester.

• 1:30:40Jonny?

  Manuel.

• 1:30:41Chris Williamson?

  Yeah. Stephen Manuel.

• 1:30:43Jonny?

  Stephen Manuel.

• 1:30:45Chris Williamson?

  Uh, as far as I'm.

• 1:30:46Jonny?

I'd like to know his opinion on this.

• 1:30:47Chris Williamson?

As far as I'm concerned, there's no such thing as toxic masculinity. It's just people naming things. It's just people naming character traits. You have people that are girly, girly guys and masculine guys. Toxic masculinity to me is just the same as toxic femininity, like.

• 1:31:01Jonny?

Do you think like, you know, the, the generations prior to us, like, you know, the generation that dealt with like World War Two? I just think, uh, maybe I'm wrong, but I imagine if you presented them the sort of things that are being argued about now.

• 1:31:13Chris Williamson?

  Hmm.

• 1:31:13Jonny?

  They'd just be upset.

• 1:31:14Speaker 01

There's a clip of George, of George from, uh, on Mental Models one or two, saying something like that. It's like, something about being on the front line in World War Two and then they're like, oh, my Instagram.

• 1:31:27Jonny?

  Like, I can't do that because I don't identify as a soldier.

• 1:31:29Chris Williamson?

On the other side, on the other side of that question,

• 1:31:33Chris Williamson?

it's no use to any of us to judge the life that we have now with the lens that we would have used a hundred years ago. Like, I'm not saying, um, I don't know why I'm fucking bothered about, uh, getting cancer. At least I didn't buy, die of the bubonic plague. Like, hang on, I need to, I need to refine the fidelity of my view for what criteria I need my life and the life of those around me to be at as time progresses and as life gets better. Like, yes, we are no longer at a world war. Therefore, I can start to look at things like what our attention device is doing to my brain.

• 1:32:10Jonny?

As long as it's not, I, I feel like some of these things feel very much like they're making a problem. They're like, if you, so toxic masculinity, like, yeah, like, so being in a landing craft be, uh, about to arrive on like normally beaches, that is for, uh, no one would argue that that is a problem you're about to experience.

• 1:32:34Chris Williamson?

  Serious problem.

• 1:32:35Jonny?

And, and, but, you know, in the same way, cancer is a problem. Like, you can't argue that because cancer isn't the bubonic plague, that it's not as bad. You know, it's still a problem to deal with. But like, if you are, everything in your life is, is all right, but you decide that actually toxic masculinity really offends you. So, well. It does, it does it have to, or are you choosing for it to be the case like?

• 1:32:58Chris Williamson?

People lie to themselves so effectively. I think a lot of people would struggle to answer that. I think a lot, and especially if you then add in availability bias and echo chambers and.

• 1:33:09Jonny?

Yeah, if all your mates agree with you.

• 1:33:11Chris Williamson?

Yeah, then you you can create yourself to believe anything that you want, right?

• 1:33:15Jonny?

Suppose we all have to have something to focus on, think about, so.

• 1:33:19Chris Williamson?

Why not make it toxic masculinity?

• 1:33:20Jonny?

  Why not, eh?

• 1:33:21Chris Williamson?

  Why don't we all?

• 1:33:22Jonny?

Just get really upset about it.

• 1:33:23Chris Williamson?

About toxic masculinity. And then there's a militia who we can, which we can join. And they are humble and grateful and they're independent.

• 1:33:31Jonny?

  It must be stopped.

• 1:33:32Chris Williamson?

There's two points here from my housemate who's upstairs. Uh, number one, best way uh to go about getting on the property ladder or investing in property, think this will be useful to a lot of people and me.

• 1:33:44Chris Williamson?

Let's try and do a really quick version of this. Build up thirty five grand. Build up thirty five grand, purchase a property which has at least two bedrooms, ideally three if you can, let the other two.

• 1:33:57Chris Williamson?

  That's it.

• 1:33:58Jonny?

  I'd invest in REITs.

• 1:33:59Chris Williamson?

  What's that?

• 1:34:00Jonny?

  Real Estate Investment Trust.

• 1:34:03Chris Williamson?

Are they available in the UK?

• 1:34:04Jonny?

Yeah, so it's an investment vehicle that basically allows you to get some of the gain, you probably know better than I do. Allows you to get some of the gain of property without actually owning property.

• 1:34:13Speaker 01

Yeah, it's like a aggregate of a property portfolio that you get to buy in like a certain amount into and because you don't then need discrete sums of thirty five grand per, you know, de- deposit per thing, you can can get exposure to the return of the properties that the REIT is investing in without having to go all in.

• 1:34:32Chris Williamson?

  Like a JV.

• 1:34:33Jonny?

  We should say.

• 1:34:34Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 1:34:34Jonny?

  This isn't financial advice.

• 1:34:36Chris Williamson?

  This is not financial advice.

• 1:34:37Speaker 01

Yeah, it's just saying there is, there is a vehicle.

• 1:34:39Jonny?

This is what we are aware of, what we might do, maybe.

• 1:34:43Chris Williamson?

Part two, Seth's advice to zero jealousy.

• 1:34:46Speaker 01

  Seth?

• 1:34:46Chris Williamson?

Seth, Seth, he's called you Seth, but I've, I've changed it cause he means Seth. Seth's advice to.

• 1:34:52Jonny?

  I'm sorry, calling you Seth.

• 1:34:54Speaker 01

  Seth.

• 1:34:55Chris Williamson?

  You Seth.

• 1:34:56Jonny?

  Or like some, you want.

• 1:34:57Speaker 01

Fine. So it was, it was quite simple. I just, well, so, so.

• 1:35:03Speaker 01

  Rock.

• 1:35:03Jonny?

  Just release it.

• 1:35:05Speaker 01

Two hours and it was something that at the time for me was very pertinent, it was the front of my consciousness. And I think when something is at the forefront. You, if you dive into it, you realise it's like a bubble. It's, it's, looks like it's really big and intimidating and overbearing. And you just penetrate to the centre of it and then it'll burst and you realise there's no pain attached to it anymore. And the triggers that would normally have set that off just aren't there, they don't exist anymore. Um, so.

• 1:35:32Jonny?

So you have any suggestions of places for people to.

• 1:35:36Speaker 01

  To look.

• 1:35:36Jonny?

  Like start that journey maybe.

• 1:35:38Speaker 01

  Yeah, I, I listen to.

• 1:35:39Jonny?

  Finland, where did you go?

• 1:35:40Speaker 01

Yeah, it was in Finland, I remember it.

• 1:35:44Speaker 01

Um, so there's, there's a few resources to, to start with, but I, I've, I've not read this, but I, this might be a more accessible one. Is a book called Radical Acceptance, cause I think the, the methods that I use kind of tw- twisted into each other and there's, there's too much to trace back from. But, um, literally just sitting and accept like diving into the story, all of the physical sensations, all of the, the thoughts and beliefs around it. And just keep diving into it until it, you, you're fully comfortable with it. Because what you're probably doing is holding it away in some capacity. Um, and if that approach doesn't work, then the Byron Katie method that Johnny mentioned is very effective for interpersonal griefs.

• 1:36:30Jonny?

  Just anything that happens.

• 1:36:32Speaker 01

  Anything that happens.

• 1:36:32Jonny?

Anything, basically anything in your life you can use that process for. Ask four questions.

• 1:36:39Speaker 01

Gary Weber is a good guy to look into for this stuff, cause he did this with just everything in his life.

• 1:36:45Speaker 01

  And, and created.

• 1:36:45Jonny?

  He like took Byron Katie.

• 1:36:47Speaker 01

  And Sedona.

• 1:36:48Jonny?

Sedona, yoga, meditation, all to eleven, didn't he?

• 1:36:51Speaker 01

He just took more to eleven, yeah, so, and he's, he's cha- he's functionally changed his brain and it's, it's been replicated on F M R Is like. He's just got a permanent shift in the way that his brain works.

• 1:37:02Jonny?

If you watch the Daniel Ingram interview with Yusuf, Daniel Ingram on, on Skype, the YouTube video, you can just tell, just watch the way that he expresses himself.

• 1:37:10Speaker 01

  He's just fine about everything.

• 1:37:11Jonny?

  Totally like.

• 1:37:13Jonny?

  Like he's a hundred percent.

• 1:37:14Speaker 01

Can you look into that camera and do it for me?

• 1:37:18Jonny?

He's a hundred percent present, completely emotionally neutral, bit happy.

• 1:37:25Speaker 01

  Bit happy.

• 1:37:25Jonny?

Bit happy. It's like his tinge of, this is fun.

• 1:37:29Chris Williamson?

But if it changed, it would be fun.

• 1:37:31Jonny?

  It wouldn't matter.

• 1:37:32Chris Williamson?

  Yeah.

• 1:37:32Jonny?

  Yeah.

• 1:37:33Chris Williamson?

Watched the interview with Daniel Ingram.

• 1:37:35Jonny?

  Great.

• 1:37:35Chris Williamson?

We couldn't get Gary Weber on the podcast. He's.

• 1:37:37Jonny?

  Yeah, he declined.

• 1:37:38Chris Williamson?

Motherfucker. Uh, last one. Where did the inspiration to do the podcast come from? From Shaun Jay. Uh, I did Chris Fit on the Propane Fitness Podcast, what, like three years ago? Two and a half, three years ago.

• 1:37:54Jonny?

  Time ago.

• 1:37:54Chris Williamson?

In our office. Uh, really enjoyed the process, love having discussions, decided that I wanted to do it more.

• 1:38:00Jonny?

  What was the first episode?

• 1:38:01Chris Williamson?

  This.

• 1:38:02Jonny?

  It wasn't.

• 1:38:03Chris Williamson?

  Stu Morton, Ruining the Atlantic.

• 1:38:04Jonny?

  Ruining the Atlantic.

• 1:38:05Chris Williamson?

Number one. Then Life Hacks 101 and 102 and number two and three.

• 1:38:09Jonny?

When I started CrossFit, I went back and listened to the episodes with Jordan and.

• 1:38:14Chris Williamson?

  Like episode four or five.

• 1:38:15Jonny?

  Paul and Tim.

• 1:38:16Chris Williamson?

  Yeah, yeah, yeah.

• 1:38:16Jonny?

  It's interesting.

• 1:38:17Chris Williamson?

  Time ago, those.

• 1:38:18Jonny?

  They're good ones.

• 1:38:19Chris Williamson?

Uh, but yeah, thank you very much for tuning in. 100 episodes deep. Hope you enjoy.

• 1:38:23Jonny?

  Thank you, Chris.

• 1:38:24Chris Williamson?

  Thank you.

• 1:38:25Jonny?

For doing 100 episodes of Modern Wisdom.

• 1:38:27Chris Williamson?

  Great questions.

• 1:38:28Jonny?

  Great questions. Really good questions.

• 1:38:29Chris Williamson?

We'll do another Q and A if you want. Uh, any comments that you have, obviously leave them below. If you're on YouTube. If not, if you're on iTunes or wherever else, leave us five stars. It does make me very happy and it helps with the show's rating. Uh, what have we got coming up? Bloody hell. We've got, um, Chelsea Ferguson, the girl that owns AdmireMe.Vip, which is a really interesting way that girls have decentralized the ability to earn from their nudes. Who thought that was going to be a thing, 2019. Um, we're going to do more business principles, more life hacks will be coming. Uh, and fuck knows, we've got another 100 episodes to get to before we have to think about something cool to do for episode 200.

• 1:39:09Jonny?

I think by like episode 300, Q and As are just going to be links to the podcasts. Doesn't matter, whatever anyone asks us, it'll just be episode 13, 29, 124, and we'll just have all that. In fact, that should be the mission. To be absolutely.

• 1:39:24Speaker 01

  Index.

• 1:39:25Chris Williamson?

To index your knowledge into podcasts so effectively.

• 1:39:29Speaker 01

So no human can come up with a question that hasn't already been answered and then it's, whoa.

• 1:39:32Jonny?

And then someone after like, you know, the IBM Watson, like make a new one of them to ask us a question.

• 1:39:36Speaker 01

Like, like to create new prime numbers on it, yeah.

• 1:39:41Jonny?

Like a Bitcoin miner to find the next possible question.

• 1:39:44Chris Williamson?

  Yep.

• 1:39:45Jonny?

But then we'll just make a new podcast.

• 1:39:47Chris Williamson?

And then we're all done. Uh, don't forget, follow the guys from Propane Fitness. They do post some interesting stuff and they have a fantastic podcast. Uh, like, share, subscribe. Thank you very much indeed. 100 episodes. We did it, baby. Yes.

• 1:40:01Jonny?

  Keep riding.

• 1:40:02Chris Williamson?

  Keep riding.
