Checking Allstate first could save you hundreds on car insurance. Not checking whether I brought my sunglasses before driving west at the end of the day? A learning moment. I'm gaining confidence in my driving, but it helps when I'm not blinded by the sun beaming directly into my eyeballs.

Checking Allstate first could save you hundreds on car insurance. Not checking the program before sitting down to enjoy a school play? I'm in shambles. Turns out there's no intermission during this three-hour Shakespeare adaptation, and I really need to go to the bathroom.

  This is a HeadGum Podcast.

• 2:16Fortune Feimster?

  Pretty little episode.

• 2:19Mae Martin?

Good morning and welcome to a pretty little episode. I'm one of your handsome hosts, Mae Martin, joined by

• 2:26Fortune Feimster?

  I'm Fortune Feimster.

• 2:28Mae Martin?

  Looking tanned, glowing.

• 2:30Fortune Feimster?

Hmm. Hmm. I think what it is, is, um, you know, treading water. It's the new year. New year, new me. That's my, my motto for the year.

• 2:40Mae Martin?

  You coined that, right?

• 2:41Fortune Feimster?

I, yeah, no one's ever said that before.

• 2:44Mae Martin?

  That's yours.

• 2:46Fortune Feimster?

So I've started off strong with, uh, treading water. So I got a little tan, I think, because of being outside. And I went to an event last night, so I had a lot of makeup on.

• 2:56Mae Martin?

Oh, right. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.

• 2:58Fortune Feimster?

That's why my hair is still a little crazy.

• 3:00Mae Martin?

No, you look great. You look like you just, like, you just, uh, like, stayed out on night, so you still got the makeup and the hair.

• 3:08Fortune Feimster?

Basically. I didn't stay out all night. I just didn't do a good job of taking it all off.

• 3:13Mae Martin?

  I see. Yeah, yeah.

• 3:15Fortune Feimster?

That's the, that's the thing that when you get glammed up, I forget about the like, oh, I have to be diligent about taking it all off.

• 3:24Mae Martin?

Yeah, you got, your bedtime routine has to be on point.

• 3:27Fortune Feimster?

I do need to work on a bedtime routine. Do you have a bedtime routine?

• 3:31Mae Martin?

Do I ever? Well, it depends if I'm self-destructing or not. If I, if I'm self-destructing, then I'm having a cigarette, I'm watching porn. That's really bleak. Uh, but if I am in a good place, then I'm using a toner and a cleanser and a serum and, uh,

• 3:51Fortune Feimster?

  You're like, and porn?

• 3:53Mae Martin?

And porn. And then I have a cigarette. No, I'm not smoking this year. I've decided.

• 3:58Fortune Feimster?

  New year, new you?

• 4:00Mae Martin?

New year, new me. And I coined that one. It sounds similar to yours, but, no, I, I was on a plane yesterday, though, and, and, um, I try to take care of my skin after I go on a plane. And there was a little boy next to me. I was like, Yeah, in in my, you know, the seats were in twos and it was me and this maybe eight year old boy.

• 4:20Fortune Feimster?

  Yeah.

• 4:21Mae Martin?

I don't know. I guess his parents were on the flight somewhere, but this, he was like in a T shirt and shorts and it was cold in the plane and he didn't have a book. He didn't have, he didn't watch TV.

• 4:31Fortune Feimster?

  Oh, no.

• 4:32Mae Martin?

He was just sitting there and and sleeping kind of with his head propped up on his elbow. And I was like,

• 4:36Fortune Feimster?

  Yeah.

• 4:37Mae Martin?

And then I felt weird because I sort of nudged him and I go, hey, do you want a blanket or something? Or like, you can put your chair backwards. And he was like, no. And I was like, okay. And then I, it was driving me crazy because it's like a three hour flight. And I was like, get this kid a blanket. So then I weirdly asked the steward or the flight attendant, I go, could I get a blanket for the kid? He was like, sleep, the kid was already sleeping though.

• 5:00Fortune Feimster?

  Yeah.

• 5:01Mae Martin?

And then I kind of put this blanket on this kid. And he was like, he clearly said he didn't want one. So what am I doing? Trying to put a blanket on him? I don't know.

• 5:08Fortune Feimster?

You're like, I know what's best for you.

• 5:10Mae Martin?

I felt so protective of him. I was like, where are your parents?

• 5:13Fortune Feimster?

Oh, that's so sweet, though. I mean, I would, that would be jarring to me.

• 5:18Mae Martin?

  I know.

• 5:19Fortune Feimster?

Like what? I I've only known kids.

• 5:22Mae Martin?

  To be covered in snacks.

• 5:23Fortune Feimster?

Having an iPad in front of their face.

• 5:24Mae Martin?

  Yes.

• 5:25Fortune Feimster?

  Some stimulation.

• 5:27Mae Martin?

He was like a world weary businessman, like just.

• 5:30Fortune Feimster?

He's like been this route many a times.

• 5:32Mae Martin?

  Yeah.

• 5:35Mae Martin?

Just at a conference. I mean, he was wearing a very adult watch, I will say.

• 5:39Fortune Feimster?

  Oh.

• 5:39Mae Martin?

But he was definitely a child.

• 5:41Fortune Feimster?

I was like, is this Benjamin Button?

• 5:43Mae Martin?

  Yeah.

• 5:46Fortune Feimster?

But it is kind of refreshing to see a eight year old that's not addicted to entertainment or.

• 5:54Mae Martin?

  That's true.

• 5:55Fortune Feimster?

  Games or whatever it is.

• 5:57Mae Martin?

Yeah, totally. He was wise. I mean, I, yeah, what did I do? I was like, I always have a book on my lap that I'm like, I'm gonna read this. And then I end up just watching some, oh, man, I watched one of the worst movies I think I've ever seen, but I won't say what it is.

• 6:12Fortune Feimster?

  Oh, really?

• 6:13Mae Martin?

No one we knows in it or anything, but it was just one of those things where you're like. Man, like this got made, you know? This is crazy.

• 6:21Fortune Feimster?

And knowing how hard it is to get movies made, you're like, how does that happen?

• 6:25Mae Martin?

Exactly, because it was basically the plot of Memento. Like guy has no memory and he's solving a murder. And then he's the murderer.

• 6:35Fortune Feimster?

  Oh, yeah.

• 6:36Mae Martin?

Basically, but it was like. Oh, yes, well, yeah.

• 6:39Fortune Feimster?

  Unknown movie.

• 6:40Mae Martin?

  Yeah, yeah.

• 6:41Fortune Feimster?

That is the funny thing about being out here for so long now. You can't really crap on movies, A, because you know how hard it was to get it made.

• 6:49Mae Martin?

  Yes.

• 6:50Fortune Feimster?

And it, and you probably know a bunch of people that were somehow involved in this film.

• 6:55Mae Martin?

  Yeah.

• 6:57Fortune Feimster?

Either on the cast or crew.

• 6:59Mae Martin?

Normally I'm super non judgmental because I, yeah, because I'm just like, well, it's a huge feat to get something made. But this was like so bad.

• 7:07Fortune Feimster?

  Yeah.

• 7:08Mae Martin?

  Yeah.

• 7:08Fortune Feimster?

And on planes, movies are a little bit better for some reason, like even a bad movie.

• 7:14Mae Martin?

Oh, yeah, true, true. Yeah. Well, yeah, I mean, I watched the whole thing glued to it, so.

• 7:19Fortune Feimster?

I like sob watching a rom com on a plane.

• 7:23Mae Martin?

  Yeah, I love it.

• 7:24Fortune Feimster?

Because I think it just, it just opens you up somehow.

• 7:28Mae Martin?

  I know.

• 7:28Fortune Feimster?

  Oxygen or whatever it is.

• 7:31Mae Martin?

And you already love, you're very moved by, by flights as a rule because he's saying, I'm leaving.

• 7:36Fortune Feimster?

I'm leaving on a jet plane.

• 7:41Mae Martin?

See the tone there and like you just woke up, but the tone there was absolutely beautiful. It was like.

• 7:46Fortune Feimster?

Haven't even done my vocal warmups, May.

• 7:48Mae Martin?

  Yeah.

• 7:49Fortune Feimster?

You were, you posted a picture of jumping into a lake or something. That looked really pretty.

• 7:55Mae Martin?

Some would say jumping into a lake, some would say doing a handstand by the sea.

• 7:59Fortune Feimster?

  Oh, that's what it was?

• 8:00Mae Martin?

  Yeah, yeah, yeah.

• 8:01Fortune Feimster?

  I didn't, I don't think, I must've watched it quickly because I didn't see the handstand part.

• 8:06Mae Martin?

Yeah, it was, I was doing a, oh no, you know what? I did post to the thing of jumping in.

• 8:12Mae Martin?

No, I went to Mexico and then I poached, I poached, I poached a stick of legs. I posted me doing a handstand by the sea, but I can't actually stay vertical. So I had to time it with my friend. She had to take the photo just in the one moment where I was vertical. So it looked like I was really.

• 8:31Fortune Feimster?

  Nice.

• 8:32Mae Martin?

  Yeah.

• 8:32Fortune Feimster?

Was it a good, a good visit, a good break?

• 8:35Mae Martin?

Yeah, I mean, I got a, maybe on a, on a full up, I'll get, I'll get deep into it because it was like Tulum, Mexico, very spiritual.

• 8:44Fortune Feimster?

  I've been there.

• 8:45Mae Martin?

It feels very. Like some energy vortex there. It's a, it's a special place.

• 8:50Fortune Feimster?

  Yeah.

• 8:51Mae Martin?

The like swimming holes and then the.

• 8:53Fortune Feimster?

  The cenotes.

• 8:54Mae Martin?

The cenotes and then like the knowledge that the minds had about astrology and, and stuff. And I, I mean, I'm big.

• 9:01Fortune Feimster?

  Pretty incredible.

• 9:02Mae Martin?

It's incredible. And I'm into aliens, as you know.

• 9:05Fortune Feimster?

Yeah. Well, you have to think about the experience you had. And when we're with Tig next time, you gotta tell us more about it.

• 9:12Mae Martin?

  Yeah.

• 9:12Fortune Feimster?

And, uh, yeah, cause that's interesting. All right.

• 9:17Mae Martin?

I'm excited. Should we, should we get into a question?

• 9:19Fortune Feimster?

  Let's do it.

• 9:20Speaker 05

Hey handsome, this is Ainsley. Thank you for being my friends that I take on walks and car rides and commutes. You just don't know it.

• 9:28Fortune Feimster?

  Oh.

• 9:28Speaker 05

Uh, my question for you all is if you could have one animal follow you around for the rest of your life, what would it be? And why are you choosing that animal?

• 9:37Mae Martin?

Oh God, that's good. I mean, you have one.

• 9:40Fortune Feimster?

Have one. That answer came in my head immediately. Um, my biggie babe, my biggie baby bear.

• 9:49Mae Martin?

  Oh my God. I mean.

• 9:50Fortune Feimster?

If I could have him follow me forever, that would be a dream come true. I don't know why, uh, dogs don't have longer lifespans, but that's for another day.

• 10:03Mae Martin?

  Yeah.

• 10:03Fortune Feimster?

  Um, but he's actually.

• 10:04Mae Martin?

  About love and loss.

• 10:06Fortune Feimster?

I know. Um, I've been home for the last month and I didn't work at all for the last two weeks, which is highly unusual and not happened in a very long time where I literally had nothing.

• 10:21Mae Martin?

I love that for you. That makes me feel calm. Yeah.

• 10:24Fortune Feimster?

  Yeah.

• 10:25Mae Martin?

Like that makes my blood pressure go down just hearing, cause you are, you work harder than anyone that I know. So that's nice.

• 10:32Fortune Feimster?

  Oh, thanks bud.

• 10:33Mae Martin?

Was he pumped to have you around?

• 10:35Fortune Feimster?

Yeah, he just, I just was, you know, in a space where I was being very reflective of life and everything. So I was like, I was just a little bit, um, my, I don't know how to describe it. Like I, I vibrate kind of pretty high. Cause there's a lot going on. So I'm juggling a lot of stuff. So my energy is probably up higher. And I was just like down, down, down, down, down, like thinking about life and thinking about everything. And he just kinda, I felt, I feel like he just sort of picked up on this energy.

• 11:06Mae Martin?

  Yeah.

• 11:06Fortune Feimster?

And just was like my little shadow for. A while and I would take him everywhere I went, like if I ran errands, go to the park. And it was just like really calming having, I took him to our live show.

• 11:18Mae Martin?

Yeah, he was, he was a star.

• 11:20Fortune Feimster?

Yeah, he's just, it really made a big difference just having him with me.

• 11:27Mae Martin?

Okay, well, yeah, you have the perfect, there's a word for like, I'm thinking about the golden compass books where there is like, you know, every human has their demon or their spirit, their familiar, it's like they, you know, that's their animal that talks to them. Yours is definitely big, like you guys are twin souls. Mine would be,

• 11:50Mae Martin?

because I've been doing these animal paintings, right?

• 11:53Fortune Feimster?

  That's right.

• 11:53Mae Martin?

I'm thinking a lot about animal energies and things. And I, when I was in Mexico, I saw like this screaming monkey. And I kind of had a vision of this screaming monkey and I did not like that. I thought, okay, no monkeys. That's too chaotic.

• 12:08Fortune Feimster?

They're kind of sneaky a little bit, too.

• 12:10Mae Martin?

Yeah, I think I want something playful. So I was gonna say like a sea otter, but then I thought it would feel kind of like having a child, like, like that playful toddler energy would be maybe exhausting after a while. Like I kind of want something wise that can also

• 12:26Fortune Feimster?

  A little grounded.

• 12:27Mae Martin?

Spoon me, you know, like a leopard or something. I'm gonna say Jaguar would be hot. Because if the Jaguar is it, let's say it's a teen Jaguar, so when it, it can be adorable still and I can pet it, but also, not that I want teens to spoon me, but like a Jaguar, yeah, it's not like a full grown, okay, I'm, yeah, Jaguar.

• 12:50Fortune Feimster?

And it's kind of cool, too. Like it has a vibe about it.

• 12:53Mae Martin?

  Oh, so hot, yeah.

• 12:55Fortune Feimster?

  Vibe.

• 12:55Mae Martin?

  Yeah.

• 12:56Fortune Feimster?

And y'all could be in paintings together, where like you're shirtless and hugging the Jaguar.

• 13:02Mae Martin?

Oh, my gosh, shirtless and hugging the Jaguar. Imagine how that would feel like.

• 13:07Fortune Feimster?

  Yeah.

• 13:08Mae Martin?

  That would feel so nice.

• 13:11Mae Martin?

And you could play with it, like that kind of wrestle and play fight. Yeah, I'm gonna go Jaguar.

• 13:17Fortune Feimster?

Okay, and hopefully it's tame and, you know.

• 13:21Mae Martin?

  I'll tame it.

• 13:22Fortune Feimster?

  Okay, I believe it.

• 13:30Fortune Feimster?

Biggie was spooning me this morning, so I get that.

• 13:33Mae Martin?

  Oh, so good.

• 13:34Fortune Feimster?

He's little, so his, you know, he can't like properly do it, but I was on my side. So my legs were kind of pulled in and he went in the nook between my legs.

• 13:45Mae Martin?

  Oh my God.

• 13:46Fortune Feimster?

  And just like nestled in.

• 13:49Mae Martin?

  God, that's great. That's incredible.

• 13:52Fortune Feimster?

  Oh, what a great question.

• 13:54Mae Martin?

We're going Biggie and Jaguar. Biggie would be less obtrusive in your day to day life. The Jaguar would get in the way, but I think people would have to deal.

• 14:01Fortune Feimster?

It'd be hard to sneak a Jaguar into like dinner.

• 14:04Mae Martin?

  Yeah.

• 14:05Fortune Feimster?

  At a restaurant.

• 14:06Mae Martin?

It would have to pretend it was my coat or something, just like drape it around me.

• 14:11Fortune Feimster?

  Let's hear what Ainsley says.

• 14:13Speaker 05

My answer is a giraffe because they are wildly entertaining and they're beautiful and they're goofy and somewhat practical because you'd have an extra mode of transportation and you wouldn't get lost in a crowd. And supposedly the answer to this question represents what you look for in a life partner. So I'm excited to hear what y'all say.

• 14:30Fortune Feimster?

  Oh.

• 14:31Speaker 05

  Thanks for being you.

• 14:32Fortune Feimster?

That put a whole new element into it.

• 14:34Mae Martin?

  Oh my God.

• 14:35Fortune Feimster?

  Don't you think?

• 14:36Mae Martin?

Yes, I think. And I think it's really told me a lot about myself, particularly because I want that slightly dangerous power, but that playfulness. And I said, I can tame it, which is like, is that what I want?

• 14:52Fortune Feimster?

  I can tame it.

• 14:53Mae Martin?

A wild Jaguar that I can attempt to tame? Jesus.

• 14:57Fortune Feimster?

Well, you can't have a boring, like, you definitely can't go boring. You need a little more excitement.

• 15:02Mae Martin?

So Ainsley wants a giraffe partner.

• 15:05Fortune Feimster?

  Yeah, someone very tall.

• 15:07Mae Martin?

  Kind of a goofball. Yeah.

• 15:11Fortune Feimster?

I guess Biggie would be like safe.

• 15:14Mae Martin?

  Yeah, security.

• 15:15Fortune Feimster?

Security, loyal, cuddly. Yeah, I, I think that tracks.

• 15:23Mae Martin?

That tracks. Did you know that recently there was a baby giraffe born with no spots? It's the first one ever recorded ever.

• 15:29Fortune Feimster?

  Whoa, may fact.

• 15:31Mae Martin?

  Yeah.

• 15:31Fortune Feimster?

  Did not know that.

• 15:33Mae Martin?

  Yeah.

• 15:33Fortune Feimster?

Love it. All right. Let's get to our next one.

• 15:36Mae Martin?

  Mm hmm.

• 15:37Fortune Feimster?

  Mm hmm.

• 15:38Mae Martin?

Yeah, why did I say mm hmm?

• 15:43Mae Martin?

Just became a barista or something.

• 15:46Speaker 06

Hello handsome pod. Hello May, hello Tig, hello Fortune, hello Thomas. My name is Sam, a handsome little lay them from Massachusetts. Here to ask you, aside from handsome, of course, what is your favorite podcast?

• 16:05Mae Martin?

  Ooh, Sam.

• 16:07Fortune Feimster?

  Good question.

• 16:08Mae Martin?

They have a very enticing voice to me.

• 16:11Fortune Feimster?

  Mm hmm.

• 16:12Mae Martin?

I mean, I'm a sucker for anyone using my name, like it's anyone going, well, May, I mean, you know, I'm like, oh, okay.

• 16:21Fortune Feimster?

That video of Lois and Bram.

• 16:23Mae Martin?

  It blew up.

• 16:24Fortune Feimster?

Blew up. And your reaction to them saying your name was part of that.

• 16:30Mae Martin?

I really burst into tears. That was crazy.

• 16:34Fortune Feimster?

So I believe that you you get moved by someone saying your name.

• 16:39Mae Martin?

I really do. Yeah, it like wakes me right up and puts me in the present moment.

• 16:44Fortune Feimster?

  Yeah.

• 16:45Mae Martin?

Cause I know they're either mad at me or into me.

• 16:48Fortune Feimster?

It's the tone in which they said, May.

• 16:50Mae Martin?

  Yeah.

• 16:51Fortune Feimster?

  May.

• 16:51Mae Martin?

  May. Yeah. Hey, May. Yeah.

• 16:56Fortune Feimster?

Do you have a favorite podcast?

• 16:58Mae Martin?

Um, yeah, I have a bunch. Well, I I I think the first podcast I ever got into was Professor Blastoff and I was in London.

• 17:06Fortune Feimster?

  Look at that.

• 17:07Mae Martin?

Yeah, because I was the first podcast I listened to where I like really laughed out loud and felt like I knew them. That was Tig's first podcast, I think, or second podcast. And.

• 17:17Fortune Feimster?

  Those were early days.

• 17:18Mae Martin?

So long ago. This is like twenty, what, twenty twelve or something, maybe? And then I got really into serial and then kind of from then on, it's like true crime for me. I'm listening pretty much every day.

• 17:30Fortune Feimster?

Did serial kind of kick off that true crime craze?

• 17:34Mae Martin?

Definitely with podcasts. Yeah, that was.

• 17:36Fortune Feimster?

It was that Adnan case, I believe.

• 17:39Mae Martin?

Yes, Adnan Syed. I can hear the theme song in my head still.

• 17:43Fortune Feimster?

And her voice was so calming.

• 17:45Mae Martin?

  Her voice was amazing.

• 17:47Fortune Feimster?

And I think all the ads were for MailChimp.

• 17:49Mae Martin?

Oh, yeah, they were all for MailChimp. Yeah, yeah, you're so right. Yeah.

• 17:54Fortune Feimster?

Yeah, that those were those were early, early podcast days of like, wow, this is interesting. Yeah. Did you, what about you? Do you remember like, having a podcast used to be like the butt of a joke with comics? It was like, oh, you guys. And now it's like presidential nominees are going on there. I know. I was kind of a late adapter to podcast, I think. I remember the first one I kind of clocked as being popular was My Favorite Murder. Mm hmm. Yeah, I was deep into that. Because I'm friends with Karen Colgariff and had known her for years doing stand up. And I was always like, God, Karen's like the funniest person I know.

• 18:34Fortune Feimster?

Like every year I would be like, this person should be the most famous person in this show. Like this is the talent coming out of this woman is like next level. It's crazy. And then all of a sudden, all that, you know, I was touring and I would see around all these cities, My Favorite Murder sold out. And I was like, whoa, Karen's podcast is like po- popular. This is like a thing. And I started listening to it and loved it. Yeah. So I listened to that for a long time. I I haven't listened as much lately, just because I've been so busy. Now I'm getting into the kind of self-help. Oh, yeah. Podcast world. Uh, Mel Robbins, I've been listening to. Is Mel Robbins Let Them?

• 19:18Fortune Feimster?

Um, yeah, Mel, uh, she wrote that book, Let Them. I'm obsessed with Let Them. 2025 is Let Them for me. Let Them is like, if people are. A lot of people are adapting that. Yeah, it's like if people are being. Adopting. Like fucking around or they don't want to be. Well, she all, well, she did. Just let them. She did do an asterisk, I feel like lately, because a lot of people were just kind of using it to be like, fuck it. Um, which is part of it. But she then, she then kind of did it an addendum of like, let me. So it's like,

• 19:51Mae Martin?

  Oh, yeah.

• 19:52Fortune Feimster?

You can let them do whatever this, that, and that. But then that means you also

• 19:57Mae Martin?

  Have to walk away.

• 19:58Fortune Feimster?

  Do this. Yeah.

• 19:59Mae Martin?

  Yeah.

• 20:00Fortune Feimster?

So it's not like, oh, just go do whatever the fuck you want.

• 20:03Mae Martin?

No, it's like, it's like, instead of trying to change or chase people, just control your environment and your reactions to things.

• 20:11Fortune Feimster?

Yeah, cuz you can let them go do whatever, I guess, but that has consequences.

• 20:17Mae Martin?

  Yeah.

• 20:17Fortune Feimster?

So it's like, you both have to weigh what is worth it.

• 20:21Mae Martin?

  Yeah.

• 20:22Fortune Feimster?

Um, so yeah, just kind of doing more of that stuff lately. I started Astaire Perrell. Y'all got me into listening.

• 20:31Mae Martin?

  Her, isn't she amazing?

• 20:33Fortune Feimster?

  Yeah.

• 20:34Mae Martin?

Yeah, she's amazing. And I, I went through, I got into, um, Call Chelsea Peretti when she first started that podcast because I loved it's, I felt like it was very aspirational for me cuz I loved that she would just hang up on callers. Like, she would be so mean to people, but it was so, like, cathartic to listen to. And funny and, and like, the people calling would just like want her to be mean to them and I loved it. And I love Sarah Silverman's podcast and I used to listen to Anna Faris's podcast a lot. I thought that was great. There's an episode with Allison Janney that was really funny where they did improv.

• 21:08Fortune Feimster?

I feel like Anna's also was one of the, not early adapters of podcasts, but one of the early ones to get a lot of success.

• 21:15Mae Martin?

Yeah, but if anyone has recommendations for bingeable true crime series where, especially where like, there's a resolution at the end, that would be great. Like Shit Town, Shit Town was amazing, or, um, Doctor Death.

• 21:29Fortune Feimster?

I think, yeah, I think I like anything that's like, I like true crime, I like comedy, when people are making me laugh and some self-help. Um, situations where I'm learning something.

• 21:40Mae Martin?

I have one. If anyone is feeling really like depressed and lost, there's one by Michael Mead called Living Myth. And it's like little bite-sized episodes where this amazing guy, Michael Mead, who used to be like a Like a prisoner of war and he is into mythology and he interprets the modern world through the lens of mythology to help us understand it. And it's a really, and it's really calming. And he goes, "Welcome to the Living Myth Podcast, in which the shifting, changing world we live in is looked at from a mythic perspective." Anyway.

• 22:15Fortune Feimster?

Oh, nice. That definitely sounds up your alley. Well, there you go. Yeah, those are all great. I just listened to one about attachment styles. I'm

• 22:24Mae Martin?

Oh, my God. Do you think you're avoidant or anxious or both?

• 22:28Fortune Feimster?

  I might be fearful.

• 22:30Mae Martin?

  Fearful, avoidant?

• 22:31Fortune Feimster?

  Maybe.

• 22:33Mae Martin?

  Wow.

• 22:33Fortune Feimster?

But I go in between secure. I think I'm secure and have a little bit of that. I have, I go both depending on if my life's in a good place.

• 22:43Mae Martin?

Yeah, I know. That's the thing about, once you self diagnose with an attachment style, it's like, well, these things can change too. And it's dependent on the situation you're in. And yeah, yeah.

• 22:53Fortune Feimster?

Yeah, because I've been very secure as well.

• 22:56Mae Martin?

  Yeah.

• 22:57Fortune Feimster?

  It's interesting. Anyway.

• 22:58Mae Martin?

  Super interesting.

• 22:59Fortune Feimster?

  We'll see what Sam said.

• 23:00Speaker 06

For me, aside from handsome, of course, my favorite podcast is Ologies with Ali Ward. I think May especially, if you don't know of this one, I think you would really enjoy it. There is so much interesting information, lots of cool facts that you can learn about the world around us to keep in your back pocket or write down in a notebook to present to your future dates. But definitely one to give a listen to.

• 23:31Mae Martin?

I just wrote that down, Ologies. I'm going to listen to it. That's amazing.

• 23:35Fortune Feimster?

  Yeah.

• 23:36Mae Martin?

  Thanks, Sam.

• 23:37Fortune Feimster?

Yeah, I welcome any recommendations as well, because anytime I travel now, I love music and I always love music, especially when I want to just like be light and airy. But most of my travels, I'm listening to a podcast now.

• 23:51Mae Martin?

  Really?

• 23:52Fortune Feimster?

Mm hmm. So yeah, hit us up with some recommendations.

• 23:55Mae Martin?

Yeah, especially if they have facts. That would be great. Well, this is a great, this is a great time as always.

• 24:02Fortune Feimster?

Yeah, absolutely. It's always interesting to hear people's questions and I learn something new about my handsome host every day.

• 24:11Mae Martin?

Did a. Please submit your questions to speakpipe.com/handsomepod. Keep them coming, especially, I really liked the reveal that the animal we chose was what we wanted to partner. I like those personality test type things where you're like, describe a box. It's in a field. And then you're like, well, the box is your inner child and the field is your mother. And you're, what?

• 24:34Fortune Feimster?

Yeah, because we don't know what questions are being asked. So when we hear it, it's our brain just immediately, like, what is the first thing that's coming to our brain?

• 24:43Mae Martin?

  Yeah.

• 24:44Fortune Feimster?

And I do think that says something about, yeah, more than, like, there's something subconsciously telling us this thing, but we don't know why.

• 24:52Mae Martin?

  Thank you, everyone.

• 24:54Fortune Feimster?

Yeah, we hope everybody has an awesome weekend. Thank you for listening to this pretty little episode and catch us on our full handsome episode on Tuesday and keep, like May said, submitting your questions. Get your handsome merch.
