  This is a HeadGum Podcast.

• 0:16Fortune Feimster?

Pretty little episode. Welcome to the Handsome Pods pretty little episode. I am Fortune Feimster.

• 0:23Mae Martin?

  I am Mae Martin.

• 0:25Fortune Feimster?

And you guys, we just realized, per Thomas, this is our 100th pretty little episode.

• 0:33Mae Martin?

  Woo hoo.

• 0:34Fortune Feimster?

I mean, we've had a lot more of our regular episodes, but 100 bonus episodes.

• 0:38Mae Martin?

100? So that means probably like 300 people have had their questions answered. That's pretty cool.

• 0:43Fortune Feimster?

  Something like that.

• 0:44Mae Martin?

  That's very cool.

• 0:46Fortune Feimster?

Really cool. I love getting questions from people that, from all over the world, really.

• 0:53Mae Martin?

I just, I wish conversation in general works like that. People come with their prepared questions.

• 0:59Fortune Feimster?

I love it when people ask me questions.

• 1:02Mae Martin?

  Yeah.

• 1:03Fortune Feimster?

Because I am better at answering questions than I am at offering information.

• 1:09Mae Martin?

Oh, yeah, that's true about you, you know? Yeah, yeah. It's not like you come into a room and go, oh, all this shit is going on with me and like, I've been thinking about this. Yeah, you gotta go, Fortune, what's been up with you?

• 1:20Fortune Feimster?

And I'm like, oh, it's funny you should ask. Um, let me think. And then.

• 1:24Mae Martin?

Let me think, is my birthday today?

• 1:27Fortune Feimster?

Oh, my birthday is coming up.

• 1:28Mae Martin?

  Oh, boy.

• 1:31Mae Martin?

I'm gonna be in a cake. You're gonna answer your door and there's gonna be a big old cake and I'm gonna jump out of it.

• 1:39Fortune Feimster?

  That's my dream.

• 1:40Mae Martin?

  Me and a cake?

• 1:41Fortune Feimster?

  You and a cake.

• 1:42Mae Martin?

  I know.

• 1:46Mae Martin?

Who's, so who's behind you on your little shelf there? I'm seeing some pretty cute.

• 1:49Fortune Feimster?

I know. Thank you for noticing, May. Um, I, I got tired of having a very boring area behind me. I, well, I just got my office painted, so this is the new color, kind of grayish, a light grayish brown.

• 2:06Mae Martin?

You went from, you went from white to light gray?

• 2:09Fortune Feimster?

I went to. Cream, I went from cream

• 2:12Mae Martin?

  Cream.

• 2:12Fortune Feimster?

To a light gray, just to give it a little warmth.

• 2:15Mae Martin?

Right, a nice little cloudy gray. It looks beautiful.

• 2:19Fortune Feimster?

When you see it in person, it doesn't look as brown, but it's not super gray. I don't know what this color is. A gay guy picked it out and I trust their opinion. So I finally could get my little trinkets out and I've got um our ha ha ha award.

• 2:36Mae Martin?

  From Just for Laughs.

• 2:37Fortune Feimster?

From Just for Laughs. I have this little thing of us. Um, uh, my social media gals gave to me.

• 2:46Mae Martin?

A little framed photo of the boys.

• 2:48Fortune Feimster?

It's a, it's a us. You can only really see this if you're watching the video, I apologize. A fan gave me a, a, a sign that says y'all means all.

• 3:00Mae Martin?

  Oh yeah, I love that.

• 3:01Fortune Feimster?

Pretty good. I have the handsome, uh, sign that a fan wood worked for me. I have our signal award that the handsome pod won.

• 3:14Mae Martin?

  God, what a podcast.

• 3:16Fortune Feimster?

What a podcast. We had, we won a glad award. I'm, I'm checking in to see if I get one of those puppies to put up out here. I've got my Fortune Marie, um, croch, not crocheted. What is it called?

• 3:30Mae Martin?

  Needle point.

• 3:31Fortune Feimster?

  Needle point.

• 3:32Mae Martin?

  Yeah.

• 3:32Fortune Feimster?

Then I have my, um, uh, someone, this is crochet, right? Can you see it? The owl? It's a Hooters owl.

• 3:41Mae Martin?

  Oh, it's a Hooters owl.

• 3:43Fortune Feimster?

Crocheted, I want to say. I don't know my craft.

• 3:47Mae Martin?

  Little owl boobs under there?

• 3:49Fortune Feimster?

Did, I was like, boobs? There's no boobs, actually. It's just an owl.

• 3:53Mae Martin?

  Birds don't breastfeed, do they?

• 3:54Fortune Feimster?

But maybe these are the, maybe the eyes are supposed to be the boobs as well.

• 3:58Mae Martin?

  Very much are.

• 3:59Fortune Feimster?

It's a creative, they took creative license.

• 4:02Mae Martin?

Yeah, those are big boob eyes.

• 4:04Fortune Feimster?

Another fan gave me an Alf.

• 4:06Mae Martin?

  Oh, hell yeah.

• 4:07Fortune Feimster?

  From our infamous Alf episode.

• 4:10Mae Martin?

  Oh my god.

• 4:10Fortune Feimster?

  Early days, very early and.

• 4:13Mae Martin?

Where you said something and I said, then why did I go dress this Alf?

• 4:17Fortune Feimster?

Apparently caused a ripple of happiness with people.

• 4:22Fortune Feimster?

And then I have a couple little nibbles maple stick. Uh, I have the Funko Pop.

• 4:28Mae Martin?

  Wait, what?

• 4:29Fortune Feimster?

  Uh, you know Funko Pops?

• 4:31Mae Martin?

  Oh, the little head guys?

• 4:33Fortune Feimster?

  Yeah.

• 4:34Mae Martin?

The little b- bobbly head guys?

• 4:35Fortune Feimster?

  Hold on.

• 4:36Mae Martin?

I love that. This is a sort of very handsome pod centric.

• 4:40Fortune Feimster?

Well, I feel like the, the gays in charge of my interior design are gonna have a problem.

• 4:46Mae Martin?

  They're gonna be like, um.

• 4:47Fortune Feimster?

  They're gonna be like, I don't know.

• 4:49Mae Martin?

Well, it's nice to see. It looks very warm and cozy in there.

• 4:53Fortune Feimster?

Well, you know, it's, I feel like I've gotta have a little personality in my house. When you have, uh, three gay men in charge of your designs.

• 5:03Mae Martin?

  Yeah.

• 5:04Fortune Feimster?

  It's very sterile, clean.

• 5:07Mae Martin?

  Mid-century.

• 5:08Fortune Feimster?

Like beautiful, but I'm like, I need a little, I still, I need a little pop of something.

• 5:13Mae Martin?

I'd be alive. If I went over to your house and there was nothing, I'd be, I think you're a serial killer.

• 5:17Fortune Feimster?

Oh, yeah. No, I, well, I do have my video game in here, so I've kept that. But I did just get my, this, I'm like, what am I, a home improvement show? I did just get my fireplace marbled.

• 5:32Mae Martin?

  Whoa. Covered in marble?

• 5:35Fortune Feimster?

  Covered in marble.

• 5:36Mae Martin?

Holy. Wow, that's very like ancient Roman sexy. Cool.

• 5:42Fortune Feimster?

  Ooh.

• 5:43Mae Martin?

I really want you to have like a fake, of course, but like a polar bear rug.

• 5:48Fortune Feimster?

  Okay.

• 5:49Mae Martin?

Recline on in front of your marbled.

• 5:51Fortune Feimster?

Your marble thing. Well, at some point, we'll have to go to each other's places to see our styles.

• 5:56Mae Martin?

  Don't tease me.

• 5:58Fortune Feimster?

I'm gonna come. I told you, I'm gonna do your show tomorrow night. You asked and I'm coming. Yeah, I texted you.

• 6:04Mae Martin?

  Oh, my God.

• 6:05Fortune Feimster?

You just didn't see it yet.

• 6:06Mae Martin?

Oh, amazing. Oh, great. Okay, that, that'll be great.

• 6:09Fortune Feimster?

So what's going on with you? Enough about me and my trinkets.

• 6:13Mae Martin?

Um, my trinkets are also thriving. I've got a little metal mouse here. What's going on with me? Last night I went to see the screening of the RuPaul movie.

• 6:23Fortune Feimster?

Oh yeah, I saw it. It's funny.

• 6:25Mae Martin?

I loved it. It reminded me of like, yes, like almost like Austin Powers type of comedy innuendo.

• 6:33Fortune Feimster?

It reminded me of Airplane, too.

• 6:35Mae Martin?

Very Airplane. Yeah. I loved it. I was really in the mood for that.

• 6:39Fortune Feimster?

Yeah. It comes out, or it's out now per this, and I think people should go see it. It's really funny.

• 6:47Mae Martin?

  We gotta support it because-

• 6:48Fortune Feimster?

It's called Stop That Train, right?

• 6:49Mae Martin?

Yeah. It's just insane that there haven't been more movies where drag queens are the stars. They're funnier than anyone.

• 6:56Fortune Feimster?

  Really entertaining.

• 6:57Mae Martin?

  Yeah, and it's just so-

• 6:59Fortune Feimster?

  And can deliver a punchline.

• 7:00Mae Martin?

Hell, yeah. So joyful. So, so good. So I did that. Then I went for dinner with Parvati and I said, I told the waiter, they were like, are you celebrating anything? And I said, yeah, we just got engaged as a joke. And then he was like, oh my God, um, how did it happen? Like, what was the story? And then I was like, uh oh. And so I said, it was just in the car. And he was like, in the car?

• 7:25Fortune Feimster?

And then he's like disappointed in your story.

• 7:28Mae Martin?

And then they sent free champagne. And then another waiter came over and was like, I heard we're celebrating. And I was like, oh no, why did I do this? We're not engaged, but we did get some free champagne.

• 7:39Fortune Feimster?

Okay, there you go. Yeah. That's how, that's how I used to do in college when we would go to a chain restaurant. I would tell them it was my birthday so I could get a free dessert.

• 7:49Mae Martin?

Oh, that's the best. I miss the days where, where you could tell the pilot it was your birthday and then go sit on his lap.

• 7:57Fortune Feimster?

  That was a thing?

• 7:58Mae Martin?

I swear that was a thing.

• 7:59Fortune Feimster?

I never sit on the pilot's lap.

• 8:02Mae Martin?

  You're missing out.

• 8:06Fortune Feimster?

I have had a couple pilots in current times asked me to come into the cockpit because they like my comedy and I've been like, and one, and I'm just like, hey.

• 8:20Mae Martin?

  And you've done it?

• 8:21Fortune Feimster?

Oh, yeah, like in the cockpit, like chatting with them, not during the, during the flight, like boarding and stuff, or, or when you're exiting.

• 8:32Mae Martin?

God, you must, they really trust you. I mean, you have a very trustworthy, open face. Like, yeah, they're, they're not worried you're gonna pull anything crazy.

• 8:41Fortune Feimster?

I'm not gonna pull anything. I'm, I just wanna get where we need to go safely. Let's do it, guys.

• 8:47Mae Martin?

You remember D B Cooper, that whole urban myth?

• 8:50Fortune Feimster?

  No, what's this?

• 8:51Mae Martin?

This guy, I think it was like the seventies or something, sixties, this guy robbed a plane. He, he said he had a bomb on him or something and he robbed a plane and then he jumped out of the plane, parachuted with like millions of dollars and they never found him. And so people are like, did he survive?

• 9:10Fortune Feimster?

Wait, is that the cocaine bear story?

• 9:13Mae Martin?

  No.

• 9:14Fortune Feimster?

  Is that the same thing?

• 9:15Mae Martin?

  That's someone else, I think.

• 9:16Fortune Feimster?

And wait, what is this guy's name? I'm gonna look it up later.

• 9:19Mae Martin?

  D B Cooper.

• 9:21Fortune Feimster?

  D B Cooper.

• 9:22Mae Martin?

  One.

• 9:23Fortune Feimster?

Okay, I'm gonna look it up. Well, should we get some questions?

• 9:28Mae Martin?

Yes, please. It's our centennial century anniversary.

• 9:34Fortune Feimster?

  Nice.

• 9:35Mae Martin?

Wait, can I guess the name of the person? Oh, okay. I heard it was a guy, I think. Not to presume, but I'm gonna guess the name of the listener. If I get this right, how crazy would that be?

• 9:47Fortune Feimster?

  It would be crazy.

• 9:49Mae Martin?

  Ben.

• 9:50Fortune Feimster?

Okay, I'm gonna guess as well, and I'm gonna guess David.

• 9:54Mae Martin?

  Okay.

• 9:55Speaker 03

Hello, handsoms. This is Spencer from New Jersey. My question for you is, what was a moment or event that you look back on and describe your life as before or after blank?

• 10:08Mae Martin?

  Oh.

• 10:09Fortune Feimster?

  Whoa, okay.

• 10:12Mae Martin?

  Oh, wow.

• 10:14Fortune Feimster?

I can answer that pretty easily. I would say currently, I have a, you know, pre-married, pre, pre and post-marriage life, I feel like, you know?

• 10:25Mae Martin?

  Yeah.

• 10:26Fortune Feimster?

  Uh.

• 10:27Mae Martin?

  Or like pre-divorce, post-divorce.

• 10:29Fortune Feimster?

Yeah, yeah, I guess that's more accurate, yeah.

• 10:32Mae Martin?

Yeah, I mean, that's a major life path shift. Yeah.

• 10:36Fortune Feimster?

Yeah. So it's like, you know, even though like, I, you know, my job's the same, friends are the same. It's like new house, new routines, new things, new life, new, you know, it's, it's an adjustment for sure.

• 10:53Mae Martin?

  Yeah.

• 10:53Fortune Feimster?

Um, but it's a definitely a significant time in my life of pre and post.

• 10:59Mae Martin?

  Yeah, that's mega.

• 11:00Fortune Feimster?

  Yeah.

• 11:01Mae Martin?

I, I, the first thing that came to my mind was pre seeing Ace Ventura and post seeing Ace Ventura. Cause

• 11:08Fortune Feimster?

  Okay.

• 11:09Mae Martin?

I don't even know, what year did it come out? What, I would have been, uh.

• 11:13Fortune Feimster?

  I bet, I'm gonna guess.

• 11:14Mae Martin?

  Yeah.

• 11:15Fortune Feimster?

  Uh, ninety-two.

• 11:17Mae Martin?

Uh, ninety-four. So, yeah, I was seven.

• 11:20Fortune Feimster?

  Yeah.

• 11:20Mae Martin?

Yeah, really good. I was seven and I, I, it changed my life. Like I, it, it came out in, in North America and then I had seen it and I moved to England and it hadn't come out yet in England. And so I would do all the lines and sort of pretend I, I came up with that character, like at school and stuff. I was like.

• 11:39Fortune Feimster?

You hold your butt cheeks and go, can I ask you a question?

• 11:43Mae Martin?

One million percent I did. And I did a lot of like, a lot of alrighty then, a lot of,

• 11:49Fortune Feimster?

  Oh, alrighty then.

• 11:51Mae Martin?

  A lot of spit.

• 11:52Fortune Feimster?

  Give it to us.

• 11:54Mae Martin?

  Oh.

• 11:57Mae Martin?

  Alrighty then.

• 11:59Fortune Feimster?

  There we go.

• 12:01Mae Martin?

I did a lot of, uh, yeah, like, uh, all of those lines. So that, that was huge. And I, it just set me on a path of like, that being a real weirdo could be cool and funny.

• 12:12Fortune Feimster?

  Yeah.

• 12:12Mae Martin?

Doesn't hold up when you re-watch it. Very transphobic.

• 12:15Fortune Feimster?

I haven't watched it in years.

• 12:23Mae Martin?

Also, I guess I'm gonna say, um, uh, top surgery. That changed, that was the biggest life changer.

• 12:30Fortune Feimster?

Really? You felt like a different, like a whole different person?

• 12:33Mae Martin?

Yeah, or like more like myself, like I felt, it was like I had been like shrink wrapped in latex or cellophane my whole life, like I, and not realizing that everybody didn't feel this like and then it was like someone had just zipped off the cellophane and I could, I was like, ah, you know?

• 12:54Fortune Feimster?

  Oh, interesting, yeah.

• 12:56Mae Martin?

I didn't know until I, until I had the surgery, how, how much better I feel.

• 13:01Fortune Feimster?

  Transformative it would be?

• 13:03Mae Martin?

Yeah, big time. And it coincided right with me moving to LA too. So I went nuts, dating around, tanning with my shirt on.

• 13:11Fortune Feimster?

I remember when you first moved to LA.

• 13:14Mae Martin?

I almost burned all my bridges in this industry very quickly by really dating up a storm.

• 13:21Fortune Feimster?

You were dating up a storm. Oh my Lord.

• 13:25Mae Martin?

  I really was.

• 13:25Fortune Feimster?

  It was infamous.

• 13:27Mae Martin?

  Oh God, was it?

• 13:28Fortune Feimster?

I mean, the word got around for sure.

• 13:31Mae Martin?

  Oh my God. Oh no.

• 13:34Fortune Feimster?

But you know, you had your fun.

• 13:36Mae Martin?

  I really did, yeah.

• 13:38Fortune Feimster?

In that sort of vein, I would say another distinct time for me would be pre coming out, post coming out. I was definitely like, that was this huge transformation as well where I finally felt like myself, like all along my whole life, something was missing and I didn't know what it was. And it just felt like I could never, like I was happy, but I could never fully be myself because there was just some thing that was like, what is this thing I'm searching for? Um, and when I came out, it was just like, as Oprah says, an aha moment. That I just was like, the weight of the world felt lifted off my shoulders and I feel like

• 14:21Fortune Feimster?

I was so much lighter after that.

• 14:25Mae Martin?

It's that cellophane thing, the shrink, you know, yeah. Um, should we hear what Spencer has to say?

• 14:31Fortune Feimster?

  Yeah.

• 14:32Speaker 03

For me, it's before or after I decided to start shaving my head. I've struggled a lot with my confidence and self-image ever since I was a kid. And I had started balding in my early twenties during college. It wasn't until one summer that I decided to do the big shave that I realized just how much it was affecting my life. I love how I look and feel now, and I'm convinced that every single person should shave their head at least once in their life, just to try it. Maybe Thomas can add it to the list for you guys.

• 15:03Fortune Feimster?

  I love it.

• 15:04Speaker 03

Can't wait to hear your answers.

• 15:06Fortune Feimster?

  A nice shaved head.

• 15:07Mae Martin?

  A group head shave.

• 15:09Fortune Feimster?

Oh, I can't do that. My face is too fat.

• 15:12Mae Martin?

  I think you'd look incredible.

• 15:15Fortune Feimster?

  Not happening.

• 15:17Mae Martin?

What would I do? Cause I touch my hair so much. I just, I don't know what I would do. Oh, but I know that I, I know it would be good for me psychologically to have to.

• 15:25Fortune Feimster?

You could rock it for sure. You, you and, you and Tig can rock short hair. You should have those thin, chiseled faces.

• 15:34Mae Martin?

People have said to me that I should shave my head to like Eminem and, and bleach it yellow, you know, or whatever, blonde and shaved short. But I don't know, man, it's.

• 15:45Fortune Feimster?

I could see you maybe doing it for a role one day.

• 15:48Mae Martin?

  Really?

• 15:49Fortune Feimster?

  Temporarily.

• 15:50Mae Martin?

Imagine you, you thought that was going to be your big Oscar thing and then it just bombed, the movie bombed.

• 15:55Fortune Feimster?

No one saw and you suffer, like one of those people that like had to like lose 60 pounds and gain 40 is like, yeah.

• 16:03Mae Martin?

That must happen all the time, actually, for actors that are like, yeah. Let's hear another one.

• 16:08Speaker 04

Hey, handsoms and happy pride. It's Maddie coming at you from Niagara, Ontario.

• 16:15Mae Martin?

  Hey.

• 16:15Speaker 04

I actually was just at a pride event at a local cafe last night. And a conversation that came up there was your celebrity gay awakening, or even gay awakening growing up, whether that was someone you knew. So curious about you guys, who that was, whether a celebrity or not.

• 16:34Mae Martin?

Oh, I mean, this is, this is so richly part of my, my lore is Katie Anderson, my camp counselor, Katie.

• 16:42Fortune Feimster?

  That's right.

• 16:43Mae Martin?

Who I just must have been so annoying to just follow, following her around like

• 16:49Fortune Feimster?

  Just a puppy dog.

• 16:51Mae Martin?

Yeah. And then even when camp ended, like calling her at her college dorm from a payphone outside my middle school.

• 16:57Fortune Feimster?

No, I didn't know about that.

• 16:59Mae Martin?

Oh, yeah, yeah. It was crazy. I, yeah, but I didn't really.

• 17:03Fortune Feimster?

Can you imagine me and the college student getting this phone call and you're like, hello?

• 17:08Mae Martin?

Yeah, being like, it's this kid.

• 17:10Fortune Feimster?

  Hi.

• 17:11Mae Martin?

Yeah. Oh, my God. Oh, my God.

• 17:15Fortune Feimster?

What, what did she say when you called?

• 17:18Mae Martin?

I think I was like, oh, my life's really messed up. You know, I hate my parents. Everything's fucked. Like, I think I was drama, high drama. And she was probably like, okay, well, it's all gonna be okay.

• 17:29Fortune Feimster?

You're good. You got this. Good luck.

• 17:32Mae Martin?

And, um, and then Bette Midler in Hocus Pocus.

• 17:36Fortune Feimster?

  Oh.

• 17:36Mae Martin?

And my first ever sex dream was not, no. Yeah, sex didn't happen, but the three witches, I was naked and they ate my butt like a meatloaf.

• 17:47Mae Martin?

They sliced it into, in the dream, I remember it so vivid.

• 17:50Fortune Feimster?

I remember you talking about this dream, but I don't, don't know how I forgot about the butt part.

• 17:53Mae Martin?

Oh, maybe I didn't say that.

• 17:55Fortune Feimster?

I don't think you, am I wrong? Thomas may say that.

• 17:59Speaker 05

I think May did say that.

• 18:01Fortune Feimster?

  Oh, maybe I just, maybe.

• 18:02Mae Martin?

  Blocked that out.

• 18:03Fortune Feimster?

Blocked it out of my memory.

• 18:06Mae Martin?

They were cutting it into slices. I didn't, yeah, and I just was like, I gotta have that dream again. I loved that dream.

• 18:12Fortune Feimster?

You're like, I need this to happen.

• 18:14Mae Martin?

  Yeah. What about you?

• 18:17Fortune Feimster?

That is so funny. I mean, I've talked about it before, my celebrity gay awakening, but that didn't, it still didn't make me realize I was gay, but you know, with Sandra Bullock.

• 18:26Mae Martin?

  Yeah.

• 18:27Fortune Feimster?

And while you were sleeping, I was like, what is this?

• 18:31Mae Martin?

  Yeah.

• 18:32Fortune Feimster?

And she, I just, I, I think that probably awoken the, at the time, loving the like girl next door type vibe.

• 18:41Mae Martin?

  Yes.

• 18:42Fortune Feimster?

Um, so even though it didn't, uh, make me come out, it definitely was like, oh. Um, but my, I, I mean, I would say, you know, the L word show was a part of my. Gay Awakening, um, just like seeing these characters.

• 19:00Mae Martin?

  Being like, oh, that's.

• 19:02Fortune Feimster?

Yeah, yeah. Was a big part of like, oh, there's like a community out there. Like, there's just like women holding hands and getting coffee and going to dinner. And I, I, that sounds so naive now, but it really was like.

• 19:18Mae Martin?

  Yeah.

• 19:19Fortune Feimster?

I mean, I, I'm from a small town in North Carolina. There was not one out gay person when I was growing up.

• 19:25Mae Martin?

  Yeah, that's wild. Yeah.

• 19:27Fortune Feimster?

I just did not see that.

• 19:30Mae Martin?

Yeah. And then it becomes that you think it, it becomes this like mysterious lifestyle. And then when you can actually see it on TV and be like, oh, they're just literally.

• 19:39Fortune Feimster?

  Like normalize.

• 19:39Mae Martin?

  Having relationships. Yeah, yeah.

• 19:41Fortune Feimster?

But I will say, just like seeing those pretty ladies kiss. Oh my God. That was like, I mean, and I have so many straight lady friends that were very turned on by that show as well. I think it did a lot for a lot of people.

• 19:59Mae Martin?

It did a lot. Yeah. What was the theme song? It was like, come and go. Fighting fucking something. Yeah, yeah.

• 20:06Fortune Feimster?

By the group Betty, I think. Or no, right?

• 20:10Mae Martin?

I don't remember, but. Fighting fucking something.

• 20:13Fortune Feimster?

It's like a bunch of words.

• 20:14Mae Martin?

Yeah. Fighting and fucking clapping, having coffee, holding hands.

• 20:20Fortune Feimster?

Yeah, but man, I just, yeah, to like, not ever, cause I didn't, again, this is like pre like, you know, Pornhub or whatever. Like I wasn't looking at naked ladies or anyone kissing.

• 20:33Mae Martin?

  Yeah.

• 20:34Fortune Feimster?

It was so foreign to me, all this stuff. And like, all of a sudden, these like ridiculously attractive women are having like the hottest make outs and sex. And you're just like. What is happening? It was, um, it was an awakening.

• 20:54Mae Martin?

Were you ever, were you on the reboot or no?

• 20:56Fortune Feimster?

  I was on the reboot.

• 20:58Mae Martin?

Yeah, that must have been crazy full circle.

• 21:01Fortune Feimster?

It was, but I think, you know, they thought they were gonna do more with me than they end up being able to do because they had so many characters. Because you had the whole like original cast, everybody wanted to like, like see what was up. And then all these new characters. And so every, like, all my stuff was cut. I was basically, I was, and I was supposed to have this whole arc as like Alice's cousin that's come out to LA and I'm helping her and it all like went away. And I was like, it's, that's fine. So basically I just got to like hang out with my friends, you know, Alicia and Kate and just like have a couple of fun days on set, like sort of being a fan of the franchise.

• 21:41Mae Martin?

That's so cool. That would be like if I got on Buffy or something.

• 21:44Fortune Feimster?

Yeah, like you're just like, you feel like you're there more as like, just, oh, I'm a fan of this, this situation. This is cool to like, sit here and see how the sausage is made.

• 21:54Mae Martin?

It's cool to think maybe we'll be someone's gay awakening. Maybe people.

• 21:59Fortune Feimster?

Wow, that would be pretty cool.

• 22:01Mae Martin?

  I bet it happens.

• 22:02Fortune Feimster?

You might be more of their gay awakening than.

• 22:04Mae Martin?

  No, I don't think so. I think.

• 22:06Fortune Feimster?

  This old, this old gal.

• 22:08Mae Martin?

No way, man. No, I think, I think that's cool. That's such a cool part of it.

• 22:12Fortune Feimster?

Cooters is gonna get somebody real hot bothered.

• 22:15Mae Martin?

Seriously. I think also honestly, Parvati was one of my like early, I mean, I, I was young when I first saw her on Survivor and I was like, I would defend her and like if people were like, she's a villain on that show. I would defend her in a way that was so heated. Yeah, but actually what's interesting is she gets a lot of gay men telling her that she was their gay awakening because they were like, I don't know, they were like. Her kind of powerful femininity, they were like in, I don't know, a lot of gay guys are like,

• 22:52Fortune Feimster?

  Interesting.

• 22:52Mae Martin?

  Yeah, you made me.

• 22:54Fortune Feimster?

  What's y'all's age? Are you, who's older?

• 22:58Mae Martin?

She's only five years older than me.

• 23:00Fortune Feimster?

  Okay.

• 23:01Mae Martin?

I think, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.

• 23:04Fortune Feimster?

  Got it.

• 23:04Mae Martin?

Less, four years, four years older than me. Yeah, so, but she was young on that. She was 23 when she first went on that show.

• 23:10Fortune Feimster?

  Oh, yeah.

• 23:13Fortune Feimster?

Do they still, do they have Survivor online, like where I could go? I'm very curious about just her season. I don't want to watch all this.

• 23:22Mae Martin?

  Don't get me started.

• 23:23Fortune Feimster?

So I could go somewhere and watch her season?

• 23:27Mae Martin?

Well, it's a really strange and rare thing to be able to watch someone at different points in their life as they grow and evolve.

• 23:34Fortune Feimster?

  Two seasons, right?

• 23:35Mae Martin?

  Four times.

• 23:36Fortune Feimster?

  Four?

• 23:37Mae Martin?

Five, including Australia, I think, but you gotta, you gotta start.

• 23:41Fortune Feimster?

I don't want to watch the Australia one.

• 23:43Mae Martin?

Start with season 16. Start with season 16.

• 23:47Fortune Feimster?

  16, okay.

• 23:48Mae Martin?

  Masterful.

• 23:49Fortune Feimster?

  I'm gonna check it out.

• 23:50Mae Martin?

  That's a great season.

• 23:51Fortune Feimster?

  Cause she won it?

• 23:52Mae Martin?

  Fans versus favorites.

• 23:53Fortune Feimster?

  Did she win, right?

• 23:54Mae Martin?

I don't want to spoil it.

• 23:55Fortune Feimster?

Okay, okay, don't spoil it. I'm gonna go along this journey and see what happens.

• 24:00Mae Martin?

Thomas, do we have the lyrics to the theme song from the L Word?

• 24:05Fortune Feimster?

  From the L Word?

• 24:05Mae Martin?

I want to know what the list of things that those ladies are doing was.

• 24:09Fortune Feimster?

What are they doing? Are you gonna sing it for us?

• 24:14Mae Martin?

Yeah, we could sing it. Oh, here we go. Okay, let's sing it together. Oh, my God, this is the best. Okay. One, two, three.

• 24:22Fortune Feimster?

Talking, laughing, loving. It goes fast, though.

• 24:25Mae Martin?

  Yeah, you do.

• 24:25Fortune Feimster?

Talking, laughing, loving, breathing, fighting, fucking, crying, drinking, riding, winning, losing, cheating, kissing, thinking, and dreaming.

• 25:00Mae Martin?

  I'm glad you're thinking.

• 25:01Fortune Feimster?

  It sounds very lesbian.

• 25:03Mae Martin?

  Yeah, it does. Yeah.

• 25:04Fortune Feimster?

Yeah. Well, did our friend give a answer?

• 25:07Mae Martin?

Yeah, let's hear her gay awakening.

• 25:09Speaker 04

For myself, it was definitely Michelle Rodriguez from the Fast and Furious movies. Definitely one of those that caused that flutter and went, oh, maybe there's something more here that I need to explore. All right.

• 25:23Fortune Feimster?

  Love it.

• 25:23Speaker 04

Can't wait to hear your answers.

• 25:25Fortune Feimster?

  Great one. There you go.

• 25:27Mae Martin?

I also find a lot of the people that I, the celebrities I was drawn to, I later found out were bi. Or like, I think I had an antenna, you know?

• 25:36Fortune Feimster?

  Interesting, yeah.

• 25:37Mae Martin?

  Well.

• 25:38Fortune Feimster?
