• 0:02Speaker 00

  A Listener Production.

• 0:07Speaker 01

Activate your internet, because the Hamish and Andy podcast starts in three, two...

• 0:17Speaker 01

  Sorry, it's still buffering. One.

• 0:23Speaker 02

  Ahoy to me compound. Hamish.

• 0:27Speaker 03

Hello. I hope, I hope this is to do with gra- oh, could this be?

• 0:33Speaker 02

  Bows.

• 0:34Speaker 03

  Could this be bows?

• 0:35Speaker 02

  Oh.

• 0:35Speaker 03

Could this be types of bow and arrow?

• 0:38Speaker 02

No, no, it's not bow and arrows. Ahoy to me simple. Jack.

• 0:43Speaker 03

  Rude.

• 0:44Speaker 02

  Ahoy.

• 0:46Speaker 03

No, I'd say pretty accurate. I'm compound, you get a lot, like a lot of great results sort of squashed into one. Simple, what you see is what you get with Jack.

• 0:54Speaker 02

Yeah, not simple minded, but just like, he's, he's not too complicated. There's no way to really dress it up nicely.

• 1:02Speaker 03

And what are you, Ando? Deluxe?

• 1:04Speaker 02

  Complex.

• 1:07Speaker 03

I mean, is it something like verbs or is it, is it grammar-y?

• 1:12Speaker 02

  Yeah.

• 1:12Speaker 03

  Compound, is it verbs?

• 1:13Speaker 02

No, no, you're getting close. It's not.

• 1:15Speaker 03

  Nouns, verbs, adverbs.

• 1:17Speaker 02

  No.

• 1:17Speaker 03

  Subjugations.

• 1:18Speaker 02

  But it is grammally.

• 1:21Speaker 02

  Nah.

• 1:22Speaker 03

  Boring.

• 1:22Speaker 02

  It is the three.

• 1:26Speaker 02

It is the three main structural sentence types.

• 1:30Speaker 03

Oh. There's only three sentence types?

• 1:32Speaker 02

Yeah. Simple was one complete idea. So Jack plays soccer. Compound, two or more complete ideas joined together. Jack plays soccer and also saunas.

• 1:46Speaker 03

  Yep.

• 1:46Speaker 02

Complex, one complete idea plus an incomplete idea. Jack plays soccer because he enjoys it.

• 1:54Speaker 03

God, so it's like getting, this is ordering like value meals. So you can have one complete idea. Burger fries and a coke. Plus another one. Nuggets. Small amount of nuggets as a snack.

• 2:08Speaker 02

So what if you do, what if you do three or more ideas?

• 2:11Speaker 03

Yeah, Jack plays soccer, he enjoys it because he feels good after his sauna. By the way, he's also been doing some bird watching.

• 2:18Speaker 02

  Complex sentence.

• 2:20Speaker 03

Very complex, huge meal. That's Feed the Family for under thirty dollars. Four meals.

• 2:26Speaker 02

The question I have more than any of this is, we don't need types of sentences.

• 2:31Speaker 03

  When I hear.

• 2:32Speaker 02

No one's ever going like, oh, put it to me in a simple sentence.

• 2:36Speaker 03

The only thing that I have prided myself so far, my little boy's in year six. So far through his whole primary school career, I'm trying to brag, but I found the homework very easy. Except when it gets to the structures of the English language.

• 2:52Speaker 02

  Yeah.

• 2:53Speaker 03

No, I'll tell you one thing you want to be so grateful for is we did not have to learn English from scratch again. The rules and then labels, I don't know what this stuff is. It's impossible. It is, it's, it's how I, it's how I just go, look, I don't know what's under the hood, mate. It just works.

• 3:11Speaker 03

You don't have to know all this stuff about sentence structure and labels, like just, it just seems to work. Let's leave it at that. You'll pick it up as you go along.

• 3:19Speaker 02

I think that's fair. A hoyle, so to Will, who went to hamishandandy.com to upload what he's been doing.

• 3:24Speaker 03

  Poor guy.

• 3:25Speaker 04

G'day, Hamish, Andy and the little boy. Currently find myself in London preparing for the London Marathon. And I've come to Harrods, as all good tourists should. And I've stumbled across what appears to be a two hundred and fifty gram jar of Australian rare honey for six hundred pounds.

• 3:45Speaker 03

  Here we go.

• 3:46Speaker 04

  Twelve hundred Australian dollars.

• 3:48Speaker 03

  Here we go.

• 3:48Speaker 04

And it got me thinking that Haynes Hives really is a gold mine. And maybe, just maybe, it ought to be reconsidered by the boys. Uh, love your work, guys. Cheers.

• 4:01Speaker 03

Smart man and would have run a really fast marathon because he's a smart dude. Um, well, isn't that an interesting little tidbit? I'll tell you one thing I can categorically say though, isn't. I don't care how much you reconsider it, the investment window has slammed shut. So you will not be able to.

• 4:20Speaker 05

Doesn't it worry you a little bit like?

• 4:22Speaker 02

No, I'm not like you, Jack. I'm not like you.

• 4:26Speaker 05

But you always hear those stories of like, oh, my grandpa could have bought into Apple on day one and he didn't.

• 4:32Speaker 02

Well, what would you like to buy into Hames Hives for now? Like Hame, they're bringing up for then. I'm fine. But what would you, what are you putting to Hame?

• 4:39Speaker 05

I want to give you, like, I want to put just enough in that I don't feel stupid if.

• 4:42Speaker 02

  No.

• 4:43Speaker 05

  One in a million chance.

• 4:44Speaker 02

That is what investing is. You've got to either put your money where your mouth is, Jack, and invest in Hames Hives now or not regret it.

• 4:50Speaker 05

Well, how much is a stock?

• 4:54Speaker 03

I see you do a lot of venture capital, sir.

• 5:01Speaker 02

  Well, a share.

• 5:03Speaker 03

Um, I suppose it depends how many shares are on offer, but I would, I could conceivably look at giving you 1% of the business for, I guess, 10 grand.

• 5:14Speaker 05

God, get lost. What the hell? 10,000, wait, so that means it's worth, it's valued at a million dollars.

• 5:22Speaker 03

At the moment, it feels like a bit of a million dollar.

• 5:26Speaker 03

  Well, that's valuations.

• 5:29Speaker 03

  And that could be cheap.

• 5:30Speaker 02

So what you should say, Jack, is like, what are you basing that evaluation out of?

• 5:34Speaker 05

  Let's see the numbers.

• 5:36Speaker 03

  No.

• 5:36Speaker 05

How many sales is? That's not how they do it in Shark Tank. They have to.

• 5:41Speaker 03

I'm not selling. I'm not selling. You're begging. That's why I've got the power.

• 5:48Speaker 02

Uh, how's Hames Hives going, by the way?

• 5:50Speaker 03

  Booming, thanks, mate.

• 5:52Speaker 02

Yeah, right. Have you got any product yet?

• 5:55Speaker 03

No, we're not going to get product for a long time.

• 5:57Speaker 02

  Okay.

• 5:57Speaker 03

Well, I mean, I could just go.

• 5:58Speaker 02

  He hasn't even got a B yet. Have you got a B?

• 6:04Speaker 03

I'll tell you what, Jake, when the day comes, I'm gonna, I'm gonna be buying a 10 plus piece. So I'll be splurging with the day goes, I don't have a bee under my control. I don't have one that I would, that I could legally call my own bee.

• 6:20Speaker 02

  Yeah.

• 6:21Speaker 03

Have, I have visited bees and I've spent, I actually just got back from New Zealand. We're there for a bit of a family holiday and I thought, look, I'll take the opportunity here, run a few costs through Hames Hives and start putting some feelers out, um, as it were, in the bee community.

• 6:38Speaker 02

  Yeah.

• 6:39Speaker 03

Um, people that have gone to hameshives.com would have already received the first.

• 6:43Speaker 02

So you actually have set up Hames Hives.

• 6:45Speaker 03

Hames Hives dot com is a landing page, lets you know what's going on.

• 6:48Speaker 02

  Okay.

• 6:49Speaker 03

We've had over 3,000 people register their interest for Hames Hive and 75% of those checked the box that said, theoretically, not asking for any money now, would you sponsor a bee for $5? And so there's already a huge appetite from the early movers, Jack. You could get on, you could do that.

• 7:10Speaker 02

Yeah, one to a bee for five, but one bee, doesn't one bee make like a thimble of honey in its whole life? Probably less.

• 7:16Speaker 03

You're not, you don't own the bee. You're not getting the bees. It doesn't mean that bee only produces honey for you. It's a fun way for you to buy into the hives and become part of an exclusive community that gets access to early drops and exclusive offers.

• 7:28Speaker 02

Spot on, Jack. It's just a fun fraudulent way to extort money out of people.

• 7:33Speaker 03

I will send you a picture of your bee.

• 7:34Speaker 02

  I don't want a bee.

• 7:37Speaker 03

So the plan is still to make a premium, um, high altitude, an Alpine, single origin honey.

• 7:45Speaker 02

  Okay.

• 7:45Speaker 03

I'm buying a hundred hives. That's why I'm currently on the lookout, as I tried to explain to you guys last time, for a hot, exciting, I mean, hot as in like there's, there's heat on them, not physically.

• 7:56Speaker 02

Their level of attractiveness is not a problem for you either way.

• 8:00Speaker 03

I, I'm not going to hold myself to the certain, um, level of hotness.

• 8:04Speaker 02

  No.

• 8:05Speaker 03

As the founder, and you can look like however you want to look.

• 8:08Speaker 02

  Yeah.

• 8:09Speaker 03

But we need there to be some heat and excitement about you in the beekeeping world. Someone that's ready to disrupt things and shake shit up a bit, because that's going to be the kind of operation we are. So we're talking to a lot of bee people, um, over 3,000 people. They've got the, the first mail out's gone out and that explained, and I won't go through it all now, but that explained the business model in that first, um, newsletter that we've sent out.

• 8:30Speaker 02

  Okay.

• 8:30Speaker 03

There's a many, many stages to starting a honey operation.

• 8:32Speaker 02

  Yes.

• 8:33Speaker 03

Conceptual stage, we're kind of through that.

• 8:35Speaker 02

  Okay.

• 8:36Speaker 03

Fact finding stage we're in now.

• 8:38Speaker 02

  Mm hmm.

• 8:39Speaker 03

Um. Fact finding stage blends into the mentor stage and I've got a few good honey mentor opportunities that are in the game that are talking to me about the bees.

• 8:49Speaker 02

  Okay.

• 8:49Speaker 03

Then we get into signing on the beekeeper.

• 8:53Speaker 02

  Okay.

• 8:53Speaker 03

Then we get into buying the hives. Then we get into buying the bees and after that nature is almost unstoppable at that stage in terms of what.

• 9:01Speaker 02

Okay. So how's how are you going finding your mentor?

• 9:04Speaker 03

Yep. Look, I've got, like I said, filtering through. God, the response has been huge and thank you to everyone that's written in.

• 9:10Speaker 02

  Come on.

• 9:11Speaker 03

  I.

• 9:12Speaker 02

I get the same email, same side then. It hasn't been a lot.

• 9:16Speaker 03

Well, there has been a lot and there's a lot of excitement in the honey community. I have actually put my order in for my first hive and I'm going to have not in New Zealand. This is a test hive at home that me and the kids are going to run.

• 9:27Speaker 02

  Right.

• 9:28Speaker 03

I don't want to overload you with business ideas here, but one of the things we're going to do at Hame's Hives is have um celebrity and bee sitters. So um people that if they're interested, celebs, I'll put a hive at their home. Like Ray Martin might go.

• 9:43Speaker 02

  Who's gonna do that?

• 9:44Speaker 05

  Who's gonna do that?

• 9:46Speaker 03

I'll teach him how to use the hive and then we take that honey.

• 9:49Speaker 02

You don't know how to use the hive.

• 9:51Speaker 03

Once I've. Then we take that honey and we go, guess what? This is Ray Martin's Farms honey mixed with some of our other honey. So they're special blends. Jack, you could be a celebrity and be.

• 10:03Speaker 02

I don't want to. I don't want to do the bees because people have told me how hard it is to actually keep hives.

• 10:08Speaker 03

  These hives are easy.

• 10:11Speaker 02

  Easy beesy.

• 10:13Speaker 03

I didn't want to bore you guys by going through all the exact ins and outs of what I've been doing, dealing with all the bee people. So I have put together a little package here because I spent this morning talking to a lot of my bee contacts, talking to a lot of the honey contacts in the world. People have reached out to me through the show.

• 10:30Speaker 02

  Mm hmm.

• 10:31Speaker 03

And because I knew if I just said to you, things are going great, you'd go, oh, I bet you're making it up. So I recorded the calls and I put together then in a bit of a snazzy montage um to show you just how serious Hames Hives is. We are abuzz. There's a lot going on.

• 10:47Speaker 02

  Okay, let's listen.

• 10:53Speaker 03

Honey, honey, honey, honey. Honey. Honey, honey, honey, honey. Honey.

• 11:04Speaker 03

First up, we had Kenny. Kenny is based in Singapore, but his brother-in-law in Australia had bees. Sadly, they were a bit too much work for him. But rather than getting rid of the bees, his brother-in-law took them to someone who Kenny remembers as a South African who also races pigeons, but is a good beekeeper. It's a hot weed. Honey.

• 11:27Speaker 06

  Yeah, that's exactly it.

• 11:28Speaker 03

Do you have that guy's details?

• 11:30Speaker 06

I can get them off Tim for you.

• 11:32Speaker 03

Sweet. I'll shoot you an email and I think I'd love to meet this South African bee guru.

• 11:37Speaker 06

  Mate, he's an absolute weapon.

• 11:38Speaker 03

Great. I know you're in Singapore too, but once we start pumping the honey, no dramas, shipping internationally.

• 11:43Speaker 06

Excellent. Yeah, exactly. There's no import issues here, that's for sure.

• 11:46Speaker 03

Sick. Let me bees, let me bees, let me bees, let me bees. Bees is a verb for having bees. Let me bees.

• 12:02Speaker 03

Next up, Anthony. Anthony's family runs what seems to be a very, very well-established bee operation and he could definitely have details of someone that could be my future beekeeper.

• 12:14Speaker 07

  Hello, it's Anthony.

• 12:15Speaker 03

Anthony, it's Hamish here from Hames Hives.

• 12:19Speaker 07

  Oh, no way.

• 12:20Speaker 03

This bee operation, how are you?

• 12:22Speaker 07

Good. Mate, I've actually, this is funny, I'm actually at work and I double as a doctor in my spare time. So I've actually got a bit on. Could I maybe give you?

• 12:33Speaker 03

No dramas. I mean, you didn't even hear what it was about, so I don't know how you know it's more important, what you're doing than the bees.

• 12:41Speaker 07

Okay, I've got, I've got two minutes.

• 12:43Speaker 03

No, well, I'm just gonna say, you seem to have a lot of bee experience. You operate 6,000 hives?

• 12:50Speaker 07

Yeah, I mean, we're probably, you probably would have seen that the Varroa mites come in last three years.

• 12:55Speaker 03

  It's been tough, bloody tough.

• 12:56Speaker 07

So, anecdotally, one third of bees are lost, so probably around that 4,000 a month now.

• 13:01Speaker 03

Well, could I put you down as someone that I could then, once you've finished your doctoring stuff, I'll, I'll catch up with you later in the week and we can

• 13:07Speaker 07

  Yeah.

• 13:08Speaker 03

  shortlist a few beekeeper names?

• 13:10Speaker 07

Of course, yeah, yeah, that'd be terrific.

• 13:12Speaker 03

  Sick.

• 13:13Speaker 07

  We specialise in breeding bees.

• 13:14Speaker 03

Great, okay, you could be a good mate. I'll talk to you later in the week.

• 13:17Speaker 07

Yeah, no worries. I'll be free all, all the rest of the week.

• 13:19Speaker 03

Thank you, mate. Go save a lot.

• 13:20Speaker 07

  Thanks, mate. Take care, mate.

• 13:21Speaker 03

  Bye bye.

• 13:23Speaker 03

If you want it, you got it, you've just got to get bees.

• 13:31Speaker 03

Get bees for yourself, yeah. Finally, Claire. Claire seems to head not only one of Australia's biggest bee operations, but is deeply involved with the regulatory bodies that have a bunch of acronyms. She sent me a lovely email and I had Claire right at the top of my list of people to chase up to then further follow up with at a later date. Yeah, so we're beekeepers between Bassett and Orange and we run about 10,000 beehives, so we sure ought to know what's going on. You sure do. Thank you for the invite to the New South Wales State Beekeeping Conference. I sadly can't make it. That's okay.

• 14:14Speaker 03

I bloody would have loved to. Hopefully I'll be there next year with some product to show off. Sounds good. But could I catch up with you later in the week just to pick your brains about getting a bit of a shortlist for an exciting young beekeeper? Yeah, that's fine. No dramas at all. Nice. Do you know anyone in the New Zealand bee game? Yes, we do. Great. Yeah. But anyway, I'll give you a buzz later in the week. Cheers. Thanks, mate. Bye. Bye.

• 14:50Speaker 03

Just please fly, fly, fly, then get back to Pecan Honey.

• 14:55Speaker 02

  Wow, wow, wow.

• 14:59Speaker 03

There is a lot going on at In The Hive.

• 15:01Speaker 02

So far, what we can garner from that, Jack, is four people are gonna call him back at some point.

• 15:06Speaker 03

Yeah, or I'll call them, because when it's more convenient.

• 15:08Speaker 02

There was only three. I just felt like four, because there's a lot of fluff.

• 15:16Speaker 02

He put his much effort into tracking down the BZD to his songs.

• 15:23Speaker 03

The problem is, haven't quite got the...

• 15:27Speaker 02

Jack, I wouldn't go in for the same grave.

• 15:32Speaker 03

Should have, should have got, I actually should have got Jack to sign on the dotted line before I played that. Look, we are in the larval stage at the moment, yes.

• 15:41Speaker 02

You're away. Now I'm proud of you.

• 15:42Speaker 03

  We're away.

• 15:43Speaker 02

  You're away.

• 15:44Speaker 03

Annoyingly, I have to chase this up. Someone, some mongrel got in on Instagram and has grabbed a few of the...

• 15:52Speaker 03

That was an oversight by me when I sent out the newsletter. Someone's had a quick look. If you are the owner of Hame's Hives or any of the Instagram accounts that have popped up, you obviously don't have a blue tick, because you're not, you're not, you're not Hame's Hives. But feel free to re-chat and lawfully hand it over. I would appreciate that.

• 16:17Speaker 02

You can hit us up at hamishnanny.com for any questions you might have. Fifty percent of the emails go to your side of the fence, Ham, and fifty percent go to mine, so we can surprise each other. So if you're trying to do a severe take down on Ham, you've got a fifty, fifty percent chance of it reaching me or him deleting it.

• 16:34Speaker 03

  No, no, no.

• 16:34Speaker 02

  Yeah.

• 16:35Speaker 03

No need to do those. But if you do want to get Ando, send a few through to make sure it lands on my side of the fence.

• 16:41Speaker 02

Scott wrote in and he highlighted a game that he wanted to play that we haven't played this year yet. Hence, we're doing it now.

• 17:01Speaker 02

To the point where I'd forgotten that you'd done the full set, I think. It has been a while.

• 17:05Speaker 03

It's been a long time. I hope Zio Pino's is still open.

• 17:10Speaker 02

Yes. For people who are new to the podcast, welcome. We're going to call our favourite pizza shop. It was one we called randomly for this game. Originally, when we played this game, we thought we'd call a different pizza shop every time. But Zio Pino, Zio, who runs Peanuts Pizza Shop.

• 17:24Speaker 03

  Pino, Pino.

• 17:25Speaker 02

  Peanuts, so Pino.

• 17:26Speaker 03

  Uncle Pino's.

• 17:27Speaker 02

  Uncle Pino's.

• 17:27Speaker 03

Sorry, you're not to know, you do not speak Italian.

• 17:30Speaker 02

  Oh, Zio, uncle.

• 17:31Speaker 03

  Yeah, and Zia, auntie.

• 17:32Speaker 02

Ah, Zio, so Uncle Pino's Pizza Shop, he was so enthusiastic game one, so he's become the only pizza shop we call. And Scott joins us now. Ahoy to you, Scott.

• 17:42Speaker 07

  Ahoy, boys. Gusto to you.

• 17:44Speaker 03

Gusto to you, sir. Thank you. Big entrance, Scott, and I wish you the best of luck here. You obviously are keen, keen, Prager. You are keen to charge in. I'd love to see you get a win on the board. The prizes are, you get a black and white. You've already won at least a black and white printed hat.

• 18:06Speaker 02

That's for participating. I should point out, I didn't get to the end. The game is, Scott has to ring this pizza shop. Tell us what pizza he thinks is next coming out of the oven. We ring a pizza shop, we don't know. And Pino will tell us which is coming out.

• 18:19Speaker 03

Pino will tell us. Don't tell us the pizza you're going to guess here, Scott. Save it for the excitement of the game. I'm not saying, I'm not saying the game doesn't have enough excitement within its boundaries. But we need to artificially hold stuff to pump it up. But do you already know the pizza or are you just going to let it come to you?

• 18:37Speaker 07

I'm gonna, gonna try get a read on Pino himself and play it from there.

• 18:42Speaker 02

  Oh, wow. Okay, that's interesting.

• 18:43Speaker 03

Love it. Stay near. Like I said, you do already have a guaranteed Pizza Lotto participant hat for being part of this.

• 18:50Speaker 07

  Oh, wow.

• 18:51Speaker 03

You could win the full colour Pizza Lotto winner hat.

• 18:55Speaker 02

We solely over indexed on the hats because we thought we're going to play this game a lot more. I think we've got 100 hats. We've given away about three, so.

• 19:02Speaker 03

We, we, you and I took them a few years ago and when we did our end of year podcast, you know, Christmas party day. Everyone got, I think everyone got a participant and a winner's hat. Everyone got lots of hats given out. You still got yours, Jack?

• 19:15Speaker 02

I don't have that one, no.

• 19:17Speaker 03

  Ungrateful, ungrateful.

• 19:20Speaker 02

Scott, we're going to put the call in. You ready to play?

• 19:23Speaker 07

  I'm ready.

• 19:24Speaker 02

  Good luck.

• 19:24Speaker 03

  Here we go.

• 19:30Speaker 06

  Hello, it's Pino.

• 19:31Speaker 02

  Oh, it's Pino again.

• 19:32Speaker 03

  Pino, it's Hamish and Andy.

• 19:34Speaker 06

  Hey, how are you?

• 19:35Speaker 03

Yeah, great. Great to speak to you, Pino.

• 19:38Speaker 06

Hey, hello, hello. Good to hear you, my friend.

• 19:42Speaker 02

Yeah, it's been a long time. When do you think you last played the game?

• 19:45Speaker 06

Yeah, I know, a long time. I do it only just today. Come one guy, you know, he follow you and he would, he play Pizza Lotto.

• 19:55Speaker 02

Well, really, well, we'd like to play right now.

• 19:57Speaker 03

We like that people still do the pilgrimage to the Pino's in Sydney to, you know, play it in real life. But, all right, Pino, we've got someone on the line right now.

• 20:08Speaker 02

  Scott, are you there?

• 20:09Speaker 06

  Very good.

• 20:10Speaker 05

  Yes, buongiorno, Pio, come sto.

• 20:12Speaker 06

  Eh, bene, bene, tutto bene.

• 20:15Speaker 05

  Perfecto.

• 20:17Speaker 03

Um, now, is there a pizza in the oven, Pino?

• 20:21Speaker 06

Yeah, we got a few pizza in the oven.

• 20:23Speaker 03

  Ooh, okay.

• 20:24Speaker 06

  Come on, come on.

• 20:28Speaker 03

God, I got a good feeling that there's Scott.

• 20:30Speaker 05

  Yeah.

• 20:30Speaker 06

  Come on.

• 20:31Speaker 03

What pizza do you think is coming out of the oven next?

• 20:35Speaker 05

I'm gonna go for a supreme.

• 20:38Speaker 03

  Pino?

• 20:39Speaker 06

  You got it.

• 20:40Speaker 03

  What pizza is next?

• 20:41Speaker 06

You got it. That's the, the, the, the one. You know, it's beautiful. You got it. You got it. My God, I'm free now.

• 20:48Speaker 02

He abandoned the anticipation of a game show, like you're saying in a very nonchalant manner.

• 20:55Speaker 03

  Very low-key, you got it.

• 20:56Speaker 02

So, Pino, that is definitely the next pizza out?

• 21:00Speaker 06

  Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.

• 21:01Speaker 02

Is it the most popular pizza there?

• 21:03Speaker 06

Yeah, the most so popular is, yeah, the supreme. The supreme and the vegetarian night meat.

• 21:09Speaker 03

  Oh, vegetarian.

• 21:10Speaker 06

  Night meat, night meat.

• 21:12Speaker 03

  Night meat?

• 21:13Speaker 06

  Night meat.

• 21:14Speaker 02

  Night meat? Say it again.

• 21:15Speaker 03

Night meat, bats. What else is the night meat?

• 21:19Speaker 03

  Opossums.

• 21:20Speaker 06

  Vegetarian nightmare.

• 21:22Speaker 02

  All meat. A vegetarian nightmare.

• 21:25Speaker 06

  Yeah.

• 21:25Speaker 02

He's all meat, isn't it all meat pizza?

• 21:27Speaker 06

  Yeah, all meat, yeah.

• 21:29Speaker 03

Could have a bat and a possum on it. It's all meats.

• 21:32Speaker 02

Vegetarian nightmare. Great, thank you Pino Wells.

• 21:36Speaker 06

Thank you. Would you come in?

• 21:37Speaker 02

  When do we come in?

• 21:38Speaker 03

  Soon, soon, soon.

• 21:39Speaker 06

  Please.

• 21:40Speaker 02

  Yes.

• 21:41Speaker 06

  Okay.

• 21:41Speaker 03

  We miss you Pino.

• 21:42Speaker 02

  We like you.

• 21:43Speaker 06

Okay, thank you. Thank you everyone. Good day.

• 21:46Speaker 02

Thank you mate, bye. And Scott, congratulations. A hat, two hats go your way. A participant, because you did participate.

• 21:52Speaker 03

Yeah, I have two. Tell you what, two participant hats, one for your best friend or partner. Do you have someone in your life you'd give the other hat to?

• 22:01Speaker 02

Uh, yeah, I'm sure I can find one, mate. There's a few heads in my friend group.

• 22:06Speaker 02

  Lots of people have heads.

• 22:07Speaker 03

You've got one of those. You've got one of those friend groups, too.

• 22:09Speaker 02

I've got one for me, yeah. Yeah, great, great, great. Okay, well, well done Scott. Thank you very much. Yeah, as chaotic as usual. Thanks boys, appreciate it. Cheers buddy, bye. Yeah.

• 22:25Speaker 02

Hey, a lot of buzz for our game show coming up where the prizes on the game show will be everything you impulse buy in one glorious day, Golden Day.

• 22:36Speaker 03

  Golden Day.

• 22:37Speaker 02

Where we try to wash out and get rid of this impulse buying addiction you've got.

• 22:43Speaker 03

Yep, version therapy, I think it's called.

• 22:45Speaker 02

Yeah, you know, if you love chocolate, eat way too much, which you feel sick and you'll never do it again.

• 22:50Speaker 03

I don't love its chances, to be honest, because even just thinking of Golden Day is getting me really tingly.

• 22:58Speaker 02

It's because we had a Bitcoin we lost, we bought them way back in the day, and it's been rediscovered. So suddenly there's a hundred thousand dollars for the people to spend on them.

• 23:08Speaker 03

I'm just thinking, yeah, and sorry, Andy, yeah, this is what we're gonna do. We're gonna have a game show. Recreate, make our very own game show, live studio audience.

• 23:18Speaker 02

Yep, kind of prizes right type vibes is what we're thinking.

• 23:21Speaker 03

But just legally, we'll just flirt the edges.

• 23:25Speaker 02

  Price is correct.

• 23:26Speaker 03

Yep. We're just gonna flirt the edges of legality there, because... We really want all the money to go to the prize pool. We want the money to go to the prize pool, not, you know, fighting off a lawsuit from Larry M. Doral. I mean, it wasn't him. It wouldn't be him suing us.

• 23:40Speaker 02

  No, no.

• 23:41Speaker 03

In fact, you'd hope if the lawsuit did come, Laz would put in a good word for us.

• 23:46Speaker 02

No, yeah, he'd absolutely do a character reference for us.

• 23:49Speaker 03

  Yeah.

• 23:50Speaker 02

Um, he's got my initials on him, tattooed on him. What do you mean?

• 23:54Speaker 03

That's right. He got the initials of all the.

• 23:56Speaker 02

Gold Logi nominees against him. He said if he wins, he'll get the initials of all the other nominees.

• 24:00Speaker 03

  And he followed through.

• 24:01Speaker 02

Yeah. So that's a character reference. Anyway, Ham, about that, about the budget.

• 24:08Speaker 02

It can't be $100,000. I know I committed to that a couple of weeks ago.

• 24:12Speaker 03

  You did.

• 24:12Speaker 02

But our accountants have since said, what are you doing about the capital gains tax that you'll have to declare? To which I said, boring. And he said, that doesn't get you out of it.

• 24:24Speaker 03

  Um, I think.

• 24:27Speaker 02

  It'll be 25% pretty much.

• 24:29Speaker 03

  And that's final offer?

• 24:33Speaker 02

Wish he could negotiate with us.

• 24:35Speaker 03

The tax office's final offer? Because that sounds like an opening offer.

• 24:40Speaker 02

  Yes.

• 24:41Speaker 03

  Twenty, yeah.

• 24:42Speaker 02

  Twenty-five percent. So.

• 24:44Speaker 03

I mean, they say that they can tell.

• 24:47Speaker 02

  If you don't declare it.

• 24:48Speaker 03

Well, Bitcoin feels like it's a global money, doesn't it? Just floating around outside of, in international waters.

• 24:56Speaker 02

I mean, check with your local accountant.

• 24:58Speaker 03

Always check with your local accountant. I wish Andy hadn't checked with our local accountant.

• 25:02Speaker 02

We are, just, you know, we are definitely going to pay this one. It's high profile, as it was ported out to me by the accountants. Same as high profile. We will, so it's now down to 75%, so 0.75 of a Bitcoin blitz.

• 25:17Speaker 03

  All right.

• 25:18Speaker 02

Doesn't have the same ring to it.

• 25:19Speaker 03

No. Probably, probably price is correct. Is it punchier title now, isn't it? It's not a full Bitcoin. But I would like to see, I'd like you to see, since you're running the budget on this thing and trying to get the studio and figure out those expenses.

• 25:32Speaker 02

Yep. $50,000 for the studio. That is an amazing price.

• 25:37Speaker 03

It's not coming out of the Bitcoin.

• 25:39Speaker 02

I was just thinking, do you want to go down to 25 grand for the prizes?

• 25:44Speaker 03

No, there's nothing left. There's nothing. Jesus.

• 25:48Speaker 02

  Yeah.

• 25:49Speaker 03

Here we are trying to be Mr. Beast and in the end, we're barely a

• 25:53Speaker 02

  Mr. Least.

• 25:56Speaker 03

You're Mr. Least and the Least. We've turned into a high school fair, if that.

• 26:01Speaker 02

  Okay.

• 26:01Speaker 03

In terms of the cash prizes available.

• 26:03Speaker 02

I mean, last time you were like, you just yelled at me, get a sponsor.

• 26:07Speaker 03

Get a sponsor. Figure this out. And while you're getting a sponsor, see if you can find a little bit of extra money for the prize pool.

• 26:14Speaker 02

  No, no, it's seventy.

• 26:15Speaker 03

Twenty five thousand dollars is a big hit for me to take out of that prize pool.

• 26:19Speaker 02

  Yeah, well.

• 26:20Speaker 03

  Jack agrees.

• 26:20Speaker 02

Get a, get a sponsor to pay the tax. Get us two sponsors.

• 26:24Speaker 03

Could we get the ATO to sponsor this? And, and they don't have to pay anything. They just have to.

• 26:30Speaker 02

Twenty five grand bought to by H and R Block.

• 26:34Speaker 03

But the show. I mean, the ATO.

• 26:37Speaker 03

The ATO sponsor it and they just give us some freebies, which I mean, freebies and just going.

• 26:42Speaker 02

If someone wants to sponsor the amount that we have to pay to the tax officer, it could be the ATO. If we find, if someone.

• 26:48Speaker 03

It's not going to be the ATO. We did a whole event that was encouraging people to scan the ATO.

• 26:53Speaker 02

No, it was not a scam. It was not. That was not that. No, no.

• 26:58Speaker 03

We did a whole event that highlighted one of the glorious and generous tax concessions they have provided. And thank you for continuing to make conferences tax deductible.

• 27:07Speaker 02

And to improve their professional ability to do their jobs. It was for the nation.

• 27:11Speaker 03

Jack, remember at ConCon, people came skilled up, went back to their workplaces, charged more, got raises. What do you think happens to that extra money that's flowing to them? Taxed straight to the Australian public.

• 27:24Speaker 02

I'm not a big picture person, but you're right that, that. So.

• 27:27Speaker 03

Tens, untold, hundreds of thousands of dollars in future taxes now because of ConCon. So we're the, I'm still with the ATO Golden Boys.

• 27:35Speaker 02

  Yeah, yeah.

• 27:35Speaker 03

We cost a lot of money to run into those coffers. You don't see the ATO sponsor a lot of stuff there, like you don't see.

• 27:41Speaker 02

  But it's open to them.

• 27:42Speaker 03

Ben with Pam is sponsored by the ATO.

• 27:46Speaker 02

If it does come in, then you can go back up to 100, but it sits at 75 now.

• 27:50Speaker 03

I would like this one today. Heavily consider subsidizing that because I think the whole point of this day is to be wildly generous and shower everyone with cash and prizes, mostly prizes.

• 28:00Speaker 02

So that was just for the studio hiring cameras. You, are you, do you still want a revolving, you, he was yelling at me saying I need a revolving kind of.

• 28:10Speaker 05

  Platform.

• 28:11Speaker 02

Platform. So the prizes all kind of come around and suddenly.

• 28:14Speaker 03

You just need to revisit the phrasing here. When inspiration hits someone and they say something excitedly, that's not them yelling at you, Andy. That's them having a wonderful brainwave that's going to be great for the audience.

• 28:25Speaker 05

But I don't even think they had that on Price is Right.

• 28:27Speaker 02

No, I think they just, they opened a door and then all the prizes were in there. I don't think they revolved.

• 28:32Speaker 03

Maybe they had a curtain, at least a curtain. If we're trying to have cost savings here, maybe a revolving stage.

• 28:37Speaker 02

  Yep.

• 28:38Speaker 03

  That seems like it's.

• 28:39Speaker 02

Best case revolving. I'll see how I go.

• 28:41Speaker 03

  Yeah. Talk to the studio.

• 28:43Speaker 02

  Prizes.

• 28:44Speaker 03

  Yep. No.

• 28:46Speaker 02

A lot of people in the street.

• 28:47Speaker 03

You're gonna take that away from me?

• 28:48Speaker 02

  No, no.

• 28:48Speaker 03

I think it's too much of an expense.

• 28:50Speaker 02

Are worried that you're just gonna buy, it's all useless junk on like Tmall or something.

• 28:55Speaker 03

No, no, no, no. I'm, I'm very good at buying expensive stuff.

• 29:00Speaker 03

I've had that same worry too. They're like, is this gonna be like, yeah, when you go to Tmall and you spin the wheel and you have to pick like 10 extra things to get free shipping, not that stuff.

• 29:09Speaker 02

And like, it's not like when you go to Secret Santa in a workplace and you go home with junk.

• 29:15Speaker 03

Let me put it to you this way. There's something I, even though I'm gonna wait till golden, golden day to just sort of see where my mind takes me, there's something I keep getting fed in my algorithm. I won't say what it is, but it's.

• 29:30Speaker 03

  Over fifteen thousand dollars.

• 29:32Speaker 02

  Really?

• 29:33Speaker 03

  Perhaps even over twenty.

• 29:34Speaker 02

Would Jack, would Jack want it?

• 29:37Speaker 03

  Yeah, everyone.

• 29:37Speaker 05

Would it, would it benefit anybody's life?

• 29:39Speaker 03

Anybody's life. God, it looks cool and fun. You must have one.

• 29:43Speaker 02

  Really?

• 29:44Speaker 03

That's so that there'll be big ticket items.

• 29:46Speaker 02

  Or showing.

• 29:47Speaker 03

  Then I hope it works.

• 29:49Speaker 02

  No, but like, you know.

• 29:50Speaker 03

  Has a function.

• 29:51Speaker 05

It's gonna improve your life by giving you something.

• 29:54Speaker 02

Or is it just fun? Like, so jet skis aren't functional unless you deliver mail across water or something, but like it's for fun items.

• 30:00Speaker 03

Jetskis are very, their function is to have a bloody good time out on the harbour.

• 30:05Speaker 02

But like a, a vacuum cleaner is more fu, has more function in the house. It's like, is it a luxury fun item or a luxury?

• 30:11Speaker 03

I would say a vacu, a jet ski does its job, which is to rip around.

• 30:15Speaker 05

But it's got more u, utility then. Does it have more utility than a jet ski?

• 30:19Speaker 03

I mean, yeah, this isn't a twenty thousand dollar vacuum cleaner.

• 30:22Speaker 02

  Okay.

• 30:23Speaker 03

I mean, I know I talked about the laser, um, rust cleaning machine. It's not a piece of industrial equipment, but it has a very clear function.

• 30:33Speaker 02

  Okay.

• 30:33Speaker 03

And so what if that function is to have a bloody good time?

• 30:38Speaker 02

  Yeah, okay.

• 30:39Speaker 03

I'm just saying, that's one thing, but there's a lot of things I'd say in that five to, to hundred to a thousand dollar category. That's the kind of quality that I'm usually drawn to.

• 30:49Speaker 02

  Great, great, great.

• 30:50Speaker 03

Um, you know, there'll be some little bits and pieces, but I think everyone will walk away with something.

• 30:54Speaker 02

Uh, you think you can get the job done in three hours?

• 30:58Speaker 03

  For Golden Day?

• 30:58Speaker 02

  Mm hmm.

• 30:59Speaker 03

  Yes, one hour.

• 31:00Speaker 02

  One hour?

• 31:02Speaker 03

Yeah, well, as I said, just a couple of coffees and I'm, I'm, I'll burn through that money.

• 31:06Speaker 02

Hmm. I'll get you, I'm gonna get you a separate company card. You can't have the our company card just because I know the amount of websites you're gonna put this card into.

• 31:14Speaker 03

  Absolutely.

• 31:17Speaker 02

  Quarantine that.

• 31:19Speaker 03

That thing will be heavily frauded.

• 31:22Speaker 02

  After Golden Day.

• 31:23Speaker 03

It will actually be a race between me and the dark web. Once I get going, they'll like, they'll just go, okay, this card is out there. Seems to have an infinite limit. Like it'll be on, it'll be on. That's why I'll be racing through as fast as I can go.

• 31:37Speaker 02

Do you want somebody to be checking out for you? So you just go, yep, I want one of those. And then they spend the five minutes to check out? Or do you want to build that into your time?

• 31:46Speaker 03

I always imagine Carly, I always imagine Carly would be there with me because it'll be shipping stuff too. To kind of like, be like, all right, how do we get that imported? And

• 31:54Speaker 02

  Yeah, okay.

• 31:55Speaker 03

You happy with that, Carl's? Carl's can't wait. What a dream come true.

• 31:58Speaker 02

Carl's two thumbs up, but also a bottom lip out and a kind of a head tilt. So it did mix messages. Um, Golden Day, do you want to announce when it is?

• 32:08Speaker 03

Yeah, we're gonna do it in a few weeks, aren't we? Yep, we're gonna, because I feel like, we don't know when the game show is gonna be, but we kind of have to get the ball rolling on the prizes.

• 32:16Speaker 02

Well, everything's got to come as well. Everything's got to get shipped here before the game show.

• 32:20Speaker 03

Yeah, in, in my experience, there are sometimes some very mysterious and long waits.

• 32:26Speaker 02

  Brilliant.

• 32:27Speaker 03

On, on things. So I think you want to give it a good four to six weeks for stuff to arrive.

• 32:32Speaker 02

So Golden Day will be in a couple of weeks' time. We're thinking May 19. And the excitement is such that Marshy made a jingle just for Golden Day.

• 32:42Speaker 03

  Oh God, please.

• 32:56Speaker 02

Sounds a bit like a kid's show, but I'm into it.

• 32:58Speaker 03

Really good. I mean, yeah, it feels like one of the filler songs out of a musical, but it's clearly.

• 33:03Speaker 02

  Just while we're changing sets.

• 33:07Speaker 02

  It's coming. Golden Day's coming.

• 33:09Speaker 03

Couldn't use it on the day.

• 33:10Speaker 02

  Yes.

• 33:15Speaker 02

Scandal this week at Old Mates, our pub in New York City, where there was a theft. For people who have visited Old Mates, New York City, it does take the HNA loyalty card, so you will get 10% off. You have to give 5% straight back as a goodwill gesture. But within the pub, there's a lot of nostalgic paintings and I wouldn't say memorabilia as much because it's not really kind of sporty. It's more just nods to Australia.

• 33:43Speaker 03

Important things, important Australian artefacts, like a hard rock cafe but for Australia. And things that haven't been in movies and more easily accessible things. One of the key bits of Australian memorabilia that's in the pub was the Women's Weekly Birthday Cake Cookbook. Now, this is a sacred tome to many adults now, but when you're a child of the 90s and early 2000s, speaking from personal experience, this was the best book in the house. And you would spend 360 days a year perusing the book, thinking about what cake you would make mum make.

• 34:25Speaker 03

And then five days a year, watching her, four days a year, watching her get ingredients. And then one glorious day a year, eating the number eight racetrack cake and life was good.

• 34:36Speaker 02

Hoping you'd made the right decision.

• 34:37Speaker 03

Maybe should I have gone to cricket pitch because that does have TV snacks standing up around the outside and that is a more bound for.

• 34:44Speaker 02

Or the duck tacos, there are two crinkled cut Samboy chips for its beak, which would also be delicious and mum would have to have a lot of leftover chips.

• 34:54Speaker 03

She'd have to go, what am I going to do with this? What am I going to do with these chips? Mum, it is my birthday. Yeah, you would say if you're a young Andy, I think I should have them.

• 35:02Speaker 02

We had the cover of one of those original, I think it would have been from the 80s, Australian Women's Weekly Birthday Cake Cookbooks on the wall at Old Mates. Someone thought that that was a great idea to thieve it, Jack.

• 35:16Speaker 03

  Yeah.

• 35:17Speaker 02

  It was taken and.

• 35:18Speaker 03

I haven't seen the movie National Treasure with Nicolas Cage, but I think it's the same plot. With the Declaration of Independence, I think from remembering the trailer, someone steals, just sees it on the wall and goes, oh my God.

• 35:31Speaker 02

  That'd be nice to have.

• 35:31Speaker 03

At home. And it's about the same level of importance to both countries. I mean, I think the Declaration of Independence is very important to America and Australian Women's Weekly Book is very important to Australia.

• 35:41Speaker 02

Was the book framed? It was framed. We, someone with better authority than us to talk about it is Eddie, who runs the pub over there. He joins us now from New York City. Ahoy to you, Ed.

• 35:52Speaker 06

  G'day, fellas. Good to chat.

• 35:54Speaker 03

Yeah. Thank you. Thank you for taking the time on what's been a busy time.

• 36:00Speaker 02

  An emotional time.

• 36:00Speaker 03

But also a sad time with the crime wave that's hit.

Now, Ed, you guys did the right thing. You posted about it, but we did have vision of this person, Jack, and their face. You chose not to shame. You chose to blur that person's face while posting the vision of them stealing it. How big a decision was that? I want to know who the background of that and was there a situation room where you discussed naming and shaming?

• 36:25Speaker 06

Well, we did have footage of them taking it off the wall. So we had a, it wasn't a great camera angle. We did have a pretty clear shot of them taking it. One of the assailants, and it was a man and a woman, and one of the assailants then popped it under their shirt. But as they're leaving, we got a pretty clear shot of the face. We didn't know them, no. It was late Saturday night, about quarter past one Saturday night. So we didn't know the people in question. And we thought, we're a good shot to get this back as we've got the people. But we didn't necessarily want to put them on blast. We've all, I'm not, I wasn't too upset with them, you know, the ethics of it. We've all pinched something from the pub and we've had a sinful, it's not a capital crime. The choice of item really upset us.

• 37:11Speaker 03

It hit deep. And look, you're talking to three guys that have pulled off a heist themselves. So we understand. We understand.

• 37:17Speaker 06

  As Berg boys.

• 37:19Speaker 03

Yeah. Did it seem premeditated to you or was it a crime of passion and convenience?

• 37:26Speaker 06

It was a crime of passion. It was unquestionably a crime of passion. It was, it was, you know, five or six. Schooners in, you look at the wall, there's the book. They share the affection. They clearly like it was targeted, but I think it was impromptu.

• 37:42Speaker 03

Again, again, not having seen National Treasure with Nicolas Cage, it was similar to that bit in the film, if there is one, where he's had a few beers and he looks up and goes, holy shit, isn't that the Declaration of Independence?

• 37:56Speaker 06

I can get that on the my shirt.

• 38:00Speaker 03

  Definitely get it.

• 38:02Speaker 02

And so then we didn't put their faces up, but we did ask for it to come back. But do we know whether they were Australian? That was the, I get asked that a lot in the street at the moment.

• 38:14Speaker 03

  They have to have been.

• 38:15Speaker 06

We didn't at the time. We thought we could put them on blast, but we're better off fetching beers with honey and we'd try and incentivize them. I didn't want to buy them a drink. I didn't want to reward the criminals, but I thought we'd get like a collective pressure going on it. So in the event that it was returned, we're knocking the price off beers for the whole month of May for everybody else. So it was like a, you've done the wrong thing. Now do the right thing for everybody else. So we're off, we're pitching eight dollar schooners of Coopers Australian Lager and Balter X P A at the pub for all of May. We're the only shop outside of Australia that pours those beers. And I've got good news. Can I reveal it? Can I reveal the good news now? We haven't actually announced it at the pub.

• 38:58Speaker 03

  Yeah, great.

• 38:59Speaker 06

Sunday morning, the day after Anzac Day, we had a Monster Anzac Day here on Saturday. And Sunday morning before we opened, our general manager, Amanda, was in venue. And a party of three came to the, came to the front door, uh, two adults and a kid. And they had with them the, the magazines, so the book, so in the frame returned. So we got the book back Sunday morning. So we're doing cheap beers all month of May.

• 39:27Speaker 02

Why'd they have a child mule with them?

• 39:29Speaker 03

Yeah, that feels like a shield. It feels like a shield, doesn't it?

• 39:33Speaker 06

So here in lies the twist, here in lies the twist. I don't want to give it a twist. It's just something that I'm quite glad for, and I think it's a real cherry on the cake, pardon the pun for this. It was a mother and son. It was a family affair.

• 39:46Speaker 02

But the kid was part of the original theft?

• 39:49Speaker 06

So there was an adult woman, her adult son, and then a younger kid. I wasn't there. I went to feel with it.

• 39:57Speaker 03

  So they're trying to say.

• 39:58Speaker 06

  Intergenerational theft.

• 40:01Speaker 03

Like, are they trying to say like, we were gonna make one of the cakes for this little kid?

• 40:05Speaker 02

  We simply borrowed the book.

• 40:07Speaker 03

  With the stolen manuscript.

• 40:10Speaker 06

It wasn't, it wasn't said in as pure words, but I'm willing to give them the benefit of the doubt. Look on them kindly. I think it was a family affair. Mum, mum saw it, said, I should really be making something. Maybe they had a birthday coming up and the week was missing. Maybe there was a birthday in between. But so when it was a mother and son who did the pinching, I looked on them a bit more kindly.

• 40:30Speaker 03

The, the other slight concern here is though, if the greater pub community realizes that if there's a theft in a return, beers become cheaper. Have we accidentally become New York City's number one hotspot for low level crimes? And then get rewarded?

• 40:47Speaker 02

  Did you talk about?

• 40:48Speaker 06

I, I don't want to stress, this is, this is a one time only thing.

• 40:53Speaker 06

A, a, a pair of buddy smugglers. We had some framed, framed buddy smugglers, our, our signature buddy smugglers on the wall. They went missing as well during the week. So can we just put out an appeal to all our partners? Just please take the coasters.

• 41:10Speaker 03

Most of our listeners would be Aussies or Kiwis, maybe heading to New York one day to go to the pub. So yes, leave away with the coasters.

• 41:17Speaker 06

Please come, just go nuts on the coasters or buy some merch, even better.

• 41:23Speaker 03

Get some merch and it is a steal at those prices. But I mean, it feels like you shouldn't have to have this sign on a pub wall because it is a given, but please, please don't steal from us. Is, I mean, or does that encourage?

• 41:36Speaker 02

Well, I wanted to ask, Ed, did you think about going the other way? Did you think about going?

• 41:42Speaker 03

We will increase the price of the beer. Yeah. The longer it doesn't get returned.

• 41:48Speaker 06

That's the next one. If something like this happens again, I can't stress enough, if you think, like if people are listening, I think it'd be hilarious to come in and steal more things. It's not hilarious. Please don't. They're all highly sentimental.

• 41:59Speaker 03

  Yeah, yeah, yeah.

• 42:00Speaker 06

And they take a long time to affix.

• 42:02Speaker 03

  Yeah.

• 42:02Speaker 06

So let's not get, let's not do copycats. Nobody likes a copycat.

• 42:05Speaker 03

  Nah, nah.

• 42:06Speaker 06

In the event, I'm a copycat theft.

• 42:08Speaker 03

  Yeah.

• 42:09Speaker 06

We'll, um, yeah, I've played it a second time. That's all right. Any, any copycat thefts will, uh, those prices will go back. How about that?

• 42:15Speaker 03

Yeah, that's, yeah. That's great. Now me and Andy will go in and steal stuff so we can make more money through.

• 42:24Speaker 02

Gonna stress that to Nick Van De Geest party.

• 42:27Speaker 03

Sorry, somehow someone came and took 25 Barstools last night, so.

• 42:31Speaker 02

If you see Hugh Jackman lurking.

• 42:34Speaker 03

Jackman just wheeling out the billion table. Till we get that back, prices are up 300 bucks a beer.

• 42:41Speaker 02

Andy, thanks mate. I'll be seeing you in a week's time for Mates Day. Can't wait.

• 42:46Speaker 06

  Looking forward to it.

• 42:46Speaker 02

We celebrate May 8. Yep, Mates Day. Uh, I've just announced it. I'll be there. We do a tinny crack. The sun sets at 8pm in New York City on Mates Day, May 8. We do hand out a tin to everyone in the pub, 600 people, and do a countdown to 8pm. And then everyone's quiet and opens the beer at the same time. So look forward to seeing you bud.

• 43:07Speaker 06

Best day of it. A lot of fun.

• 43:08Speaker 03

Shame we didn't get a spin off of Law and Order, Andy's favourite show that was dealing with low level pub thefts. But, um, thanks Ed. Keep up the good work over there.

• 43:16Speaker 06

  Thanks James. Good partners, mate.

• 43:21Speaker 01
