Now, more than ever, we need someone on our side. But Rob Whitman? Whitman's votes drove up costs, cut Medicaid, and risked 350,000 Virginians' healthcare to pay for tax breaks for himself and his donors. He's not on our side. Shannon Taylor will fight corruption, cut taxes, and bring down costs. This November, vote for Shannon Taylor. She's for us. Paid for by HMP, the House Majority PAC dot com. • 1:29Speaker 03

Let's start the show. What's up, everybody? Welcome to Flagrant. And today, we will eventually be joined by two.

• 1:36Speaker 04

  Yes.

• 1:36Speaker 03

But I just want to say that we were gonna wait for Uncle Murda. But Yeo specifically says, "Start the pot early." Fuck him. That's what you said.

• 1:42Speaker 04

Fuck Uncle Murda, I don't care about it. Listen, when I was doing Vlad and I started podcasting?

• 1:50Speaker 03

  Yeah.

• 1:50Speaker 04

Everybody laughed at me. 50, Murda, everybody. So my get-back is my success now because I haven't dropped music in 20 years, but we

• 1:58Speaker 03

  You're more viral.

• 1:59Speaker 04

  Yeah, it's different times now.

• 2:01Speaker 03

  Yeah.

• 2:01Speaker 04

So I wouldn't think, fast forward years ago when I did Vlad, that I would turn into a meme. Because you don't know what the marketing is.

• 2:07Speaker 03

  A meme.

• 2:08Speaker 04

  A meme, whatever.

• 2:13Speaker 04

  There's a new...

• 2:14Speaker 03

  New me.

• 2:15Speaker 04

I'm gonna give you a perfect example.

• 2:16Speaker 03

  I'm a new.

• 2:18Speaker 04

The Banks first Fab thing, I'm team Lloyd Banks on that. Cause I feel like Banks had bigger heads toured more and been more places and plus we brung Fab on tour and Fab wanted to sign to the label. Which is at that point.

• 2:29Speaker 03

But you are just saying that because that's your man.

• 2:30Speaker 04

No, I'm saying it because the guy that they saying is better than Banks wanted to sign to our label.

• 2:36Speaker 03

  Right.

• 2:36Speaker 04

And we took him overseas. He didn't take us overseas, 50 took him overseas.

• 2:42Speaker 03

  Yeah.

• 2:42Speaker 04

So when you make a diss record about him, right?

• 2:45Speaker 03

  Yeah.

• 2:45Speaker 04

The funny thing is people never, 50 does a lot for people, but then people always seem to turn on him.

• 2:50Speaker 03

  Oh, really?

• 2:51Speaker 04

  That's how I feel.

• 2:52Speaker 03

Oh, well, that's fucked up. Yeah, you've been loyal from the jump.

• 2:55Speaker 04

  Yeah.

• 2:55Speaker 03

You're a very grateful dude. That's something that I think I, why I enjoy watching your stuff so much is because like, sometimes people get money, they do these crazy experiences and they feel kind of like entitled to it. You all, you never seem like you're bragging when you talk about your life.

• 3:08Speaker 04

No, I appreciate, because I appreciate, I live in the moment and I appreciate everything. Last night we went to Miami, we did three parties, we did Club 11, we went to a restaurant, you know, it was, it was a vibe, good music, beautiful women was there, like, we, we live in the best life that you could ever live. We staying in the Fountain Blue.

• 3:25Speaker 03

  Yeah.

• 3:25Speaker 04

You know what I'm saying? Shout out to Fountain Blue, we staying in the best hotels.

• 3:29Speaker 03

So there's never a moment in your life where you're just like, okay, this is how I live now and anything below this, I'm annoyed, you're grateful.

• 3:35Speaker 04

  I'm grateful no matter what.

• 3:37Speaker 03

You're a little bougie now though.

• 3:38Speaker 04

  Who? You think so?

• 3:39Speaker 03

  A little.

• 3:42Speaker 04

But I still will go to the hood and get a big patio, some jerk chickens. I went to New York Fry the other day, I was in Queens, I'm still going to the hood.

• 3:49Speaker 03

Is there anything that you won't do anymore? Is there anything now that you're living this life, you're like, ah, I just can't do that? Single ply toilet paper.

• 3:56Speaker 04

I think just going out for no reason, and I feel like in the beginning of my career, what I always learned from 50 is like, you show your friends, you show your future, right? That's what they say, right? So I'd rather hang with guys like you, or you, or you, because I could learn something about this podcast thing that we're about to do.

• 4:11Speaker 03

  Right.

• 4:12Speaker 04

So a lot of times you have friends around when you're younger, the beginning of your career as a rapper, and what are they doing? They want to fuck the chicks, they want to drink all the liquor, fuck up the hotel, beat people up, cause you lawsuits, those are losses. So in the beginning of my career, I could have learned from different shit. If I would have hung around, 50, 50 was so busy that we was kind of doing our own thing.

• 4:34Speaker 03

So yeah, what happened? Like, you get locked up when they reach super superstardom, right? And then you still get paid when they went on tour?

• 4:42Speaker 04

Yeah, Fifty took care of me. I told him, I lived in Battery Park, you know, kids walking barefoot over there. No glass. What's my girl's name that was here? She was like, yeah, that's like a different part of New York. Tanya, she was like, it's like a different part of New York. I'm waking up, I'm out of jail, I'm seeing the Statue of Liberty. I'm like, oh shit, we really made it. I can't believe it.

• 5:02Speaker 03

  Yeah.

• 5:03Speaker 04

And then I remember being in shock, because I was in the shock program.

• 5:06Speaker 03

  Yeah, what's shock?

• 5:07Speaker 04

Shock is like a boot camp. So like, my gun charge was nonviolent, so I could get shocked. So I'm like, yo, I gotta get out of jail as soon as possible, because we blowing up. Know what I'm saying? I'm like, fuck, I'm missing everything. You crying, you be crying to yourself. They call it the why me cell. Every time you get locked up.

• 5:27Speaker 04

So I'm like, why me, why me? I gotta get out of here. So I got accepted to shock. Fifty had all kind of lawyers for us, so, you know, the lawyers was always there. That's why we shot him out. The lawyer fees, he took care of.

• 5:36Speaker 03

  Oh, really?

• 5:37Speaker 04

Yeah, so lawyers, everything. I got shocked. Boom. I'm in the back of the kitchen, somebody come with like a magazine, a C O, like, yo, this is you. It's the Beg for Mercy album. We outsold Jay-Z that year. I'm like, oh shit, this shit did like three million. Damn, because remember, I was in the studio with Dr. Dre.

• 5:54Speaker 03

  Right.

• 5:55Speaker 04

  And Eminem on the run.

• 5:56Speaker 03

  Yeah.

• 5:57Mark Gagnon?

  Wow.

• 5:57Speaker 03

Yeah, yeah, when you were on the run.

• 5:59Speaker 04

Yeah, when I was on the run, I was going, I'm like, because it was like.

• 6:02Speaker 03

Why'd you decide to go on a run?

• 6:04Speaker 04

Because you gotta think about this, where are your options, right? Go to jail, or your group is blowing up, taking off. You sitting there, you hearing Fifty on the phone with Eminem, they popping bottles, they signed the deal. I'm there for all that, on the run. So I'm like, why would I want to go to jail and miss all that?

• 6:19Speaker 03

But how did they not catch you if you're promoting the shows wherever you're going?

• 6:22Speaker 04

Because now, I can move around, like I'm with Fifty in Pennsylvania. He lived, after he got shot, he had a spot in Pennsylvania, so I'm back and forth.

• 6:29Mark Gagnon?

They couldn't see him, because he went like this.

• 6:30Speaker 04

  Yeah.

• 6:36Speaker 04

So, so if I go to the hood, I might be at Fifty's grandma's house, but if I don't go outside, I'm good.

• 6:42Speaker 03

Now, were you on the run in New York? And that's why the other states weren't aware of it?

• 6:46Speaker 04

Nah, you could be on a run. Once you get a warrant and then they fingerprint you, they could see that warrant anywhere. Texas, Georgia, Florida.

• 6:51Speaker 03

But they weren't coming up to a show going, hey, he's there, we know he's there, he's on the billboard.

• 6:55Speaker 04

They didn't really know like that. They didn't know my face like that. They had my face, they knew like bounty hunters and stuff would come to my mom's house and be in the neighborhood. But I was, you know, I had a fake passport, remember? So now I'm in Barcelona with Eminem and Paul Rosenberg, shout to Shady, Aftermath, 50. I'm on a run.

• 7:12Speaker 03

  They all.

• 7:12Speaker 04

No rapper has done what I went through and been through again. No rapper has done what I'm done. I'm on a run with Eminem, 50, everybody, Paul Rosenberg, nobody knows. I got my brother's name because me and my brother look alike.

• 7:25Speaker 03

Did they know? Did 50 know? Did M know? Or did you just kind of?

• 7:28Speaker 04

  50 knew.

• 7:29Speaker 03

  Okay.

• 7:29Speaker 04

I don't know if somebody got paid or anything when I went to the social security shop, I'm not gonna say that, but I don't know how I got away with it. But I got, I went to the social security building on the run with my brother's information.

• 7:41Speaker 03

  Wow.

• 7:42Speaker 04

  This is before nine 11.

• 7:44Speaker 03

  Damn.

• 7:45Speaker 04

Right? Went in that shit, got my brother's name on the passport. Swear to God, I don't know how we did it. I don't, I don't know, I don't, I don't know how it happened. They was giving Lloyd Banks a harder time than me in there. We were being better. I had to take the risk. I didn't want to go to jail. I was like, yo, who wants to, yo, you don't want to, nobody wants to go to jail, man.

• 8:02Speaker 03

But you knew you would eventually have to.

• 8:04Speaker 04

Yeah, but I was just enjoying the time. Living the moment.

• 8:07Speaker 03

So whenever you got on flights and everything, you would use.

• 8:09Speaker 04

I was good. I was flying. It was my face with my brother's name.

• 8:14Speaker 03

And your brother couldn't travel at all?

• 8:16Speaker 04

Well, my brother, well, he was, you know, he wasn't traveling with me. I was on a run. We was just blowing up. So was just me, 50 and Banks.

• 8:23Speaker 03

Did you tell your brother, did you tell him that you were gonna use his info?

• 8:26Speaker 04

Everybody knew I was on, come on. I had all his information, social security, everything.

• 8:30Speaker 03

  That's fine.

• 8:33Speaker 04

So now I got a gun charge and I'm flying to Barcelona. I'm chilling with Eminem, Dr. Dre. So I'm like, this is never gonna, I'm never want this to end. I would've ran forever.

• 8:41Speaker 03

  So how'd they catch you?

• 8:43Speaker 04

Oh, that's a long story. We came back to New York. Now shit is, the mixtape shit is blowing up even more. So we did the Coco Cabana, remember that back in the day?

• 8:50Speaker 03

  Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.

• 8:51Speaker 04

We did that club and it was this hip hop, because you know, we was number one. One on hip hop police list like they knew us.

• 8:56Speaker 03

  Yeah.

• 8:56Speaker 04

By this time, they was like, yo, yeah, yo, come to New York. He's a target. We're getting him.

• 9:00Speaker 03

  Yeah.

• 9:01Speaker 04

Cause I ran so far, I ran and before, remember there's no Instagram or nothing. So you're not posting. You're not making your shit hot. You know what I'm saying? The phones ain't like that where they could track you. It's a whole.

• 9:11Speaker 03

At the shows, the fans must know you're on the run. So when they see you, is the reaction different?

• 9:16Speaker 04

  Yeah, people loving me.

• 9:20Speaker 04

I still think they didn't know I was on the run.

• 9:21Mark Gagnon?

Yeah, I don't think the public knew. I didn't know he was like, that story was after the fact.

• 9:26Speaker 03

Oh, wow. Okay, okay, okay. So then they snatch you up at Copa?

• 9:29Speaker 04

So, yeah, we go to the Copa. So we had these security guards. They call, we called them gun in the box. Cause he always had his gun in the box like. Why do you have your gun in the box? If somebody comes to shoot you, you gotta. Going to get shot the fuck up.

• 9:43Speaker 04

So Fiddy used to call him gun in the box. He was like, why do we got these guys?

• 9:49Speaker 04

Call him gun in the box. You know what I mean? Yeah, his gun in the box, right? So we started getting, you know, legal security and shit. So.

• 9:56Speaker 03

  Legal security.

• 9:58Speaker 04

So look. So we can see, I guess, legal security, whatever. Motherfucker still had guns around, whatever. So. So they blitzed the car. Once they blitzed the car, Fiddy was like, nah, you know, it's over for you. And I was like, yeah, cause once they fingerprint me, it's going.

• 10:14Speaker 03

It's gonna pop up in the system. So did you have to do more time because you on the run or did you?

• 10:19Speaker 04

Nah, I just, it was, it was, it was barrel jumping and, and my charge was ran consistent.

• 10:24Speaker 03

  Yeah.

• 10:24Speaker 04

But it was nonviolent. See, the thing about jail, if you got a nonviolent charge, you got a better chance. Once you got violence on your jacket, robbery, kidnapping. Your shit is like, your next charge might be 10 years. But if you have no violence on your shit, it's kind of better for you.

• 10:38Speaker 03

How can you be nonviolent with a gun?

• 10:40Speaker 04

Cause I didn't use it. I just had it.

• 10:42Mark Gagnon?

  Yeah.

• 10:46Speaker 04

Yeah. Now if I shot two people with that gun, that would be a violent charge.

• 10:50Speaker 03

  Why'd you go with two?

• 10:53Speaker 03

  One might be a misunderstanding.

• 10:56Speaker 04

Two is like, you a dangerous motherfucker.

• 11:01Speaker 03

One is an oopsie daisy, is that what you said?

• 11:04Speaker 04

But I hate going to, yo, listen.

• 11:06Speaker 03

I hate going to jails, is that what you said?

• 11:08Speaker 04

So, look, this is the whole thing though. To any of you kids out there doing crime, because there's a lot of crime in New York City and all around the world.

• 11:14Speaker 03

  Yeah.

• 11:15Speaker 04

Yo, listen, going to Rikers Island has to be, it's like, they call it torture island. The bridge of pain, it's just, the word, that's probably the most thing I experienced psychologically as a man. Like, that shit is just crazy, bro. Like, soon as you go in, there's action, like.

• 11:35Speaker 03

What do you mean, like, someone's pressing you immediately?

• 11:36Speaker 04

Just for your first time, like, going to Rikers, like, say you just go to Rikers, right? Like, my man with the long hair, what's your name?

• 11:41Speaker 03

  Mark.

• 11:42Speaker 04

Just imagine Mark going to Rikers.

• 11:43Speaker 03

What do you think would happen?

• 11:44Mark Gagnon?

  I could go to Rikers.

• 11:45Speaker 04

  I got the long hair.

• 11:46Speaker 03

  You see somebody's girlfriend.

• 11:48Speaker 04

  I'm not gonna say that.

• 11:52Speaker 04

I think it's just a story, probably, like, yo, just, look like you got some money, you got long hair, yo, send some money, you know, over here.

• 11:58Speaker 03

  Yeah.

• 11:58Speaker 04

It's like, everything is action as soon as you get there.

• 12:01Speaker 03

Even you, like, you must have known people in there?

• 12:03Speaker 04

Nah, I knew people in there, but it was, it was.

• 12:06Speaker 03

Because he was in the street a little bit too.

• 12:09Speaker 03

He's not the first guy from South Jamaica, boy. You think he goes to jail? Hey, guys, it's gotta be somebody.

• 12:14Mark Gagnon?

  He went to private school.

• 12:16Speaker 04

  Yo, listen.

• 12:17Speaker 03

  Did you?

• 12:17Speaker 04

  Who?

• 12:17Speaker 03

  Cranbrook?

• 12:18Speaker 04

I told, I told, no, St. Clair's, Rosedale, shout out to St. Clair's, Queens.

• 12:21Mark Gagnon?

He's going, he went to private school.

• 12:26Speaker 03

I know you're not checking him, you went to private school too.

• 12:29Speaker 04

No, I was public, I had to test again. I went to private school, right?

• 12:32Speaker 03

  Yeah, yeah.

• 12:33Speaker 04

I, from first to eighth grade, I had Haitian parents, they was Catholic, they was heavy on the religion.

• 12:37Speaker 03

  Yeah.

• 12:38Speaker 04

We grew up, you know, first to eighth grade, I told them, when I went from the, um, yellow bus, because I wasn't living in the real world on the yellow bus.

• 12:45Speaker 03

  Right.

• 12:45Speaker 04

To the city bus, eighth grade, I had to go to school, Springfield High School, 231, these schools back then was like, they're better now, but.

• 12:52Speaker 03

Springfield was crazy. I went to, I went to Beach Channel, every time we played them in football, always a fight.

• 12:57Speaker 04

Yeah, Springfield was crazy, like, back in the days, a girl threw acid in a girl's face, I was telling them, like, I, I, it was. Hearing about that on the news, so I had to go on a bus route. So I was telling them, like, I was a rookie, I sat in the back of the bus. You know, it was fucking fights, girl threw her books on my lap, I'm like, what the fuck is this? I got a uniform on with public school kids. Nah, one day I had my starter.

• 13:19Speaker 03

So you're in your Catholic school uniform? And a girl was bullying you?

• 13:23Speaker 04

Nah, she didn't bully me. She just threw her books on my lap, like, fuck it. And I'm like, damn, this is the real world. Cause I wasn't living in the real world.

• 13:30Speaker 03

  That is crazy though.

• 13:32Speaker 04

Public school was way wilder back then than Catholic school.

• 13:34Speaker 03

  Yeah.

• 13:35Speaker 04

Catholic school was laid back, there'd be a fight once in a, probably once a year.

• 13:38Speaker 03

Fighting off a priest or something.

• 13:45Speaker 04

But like, when I got to the city bus, you started seeing fights, people fighting for breakfast in the morning, I wasn't used to that.

• 13:50Speaker 03

  Fighting for breakfast?

• 13:51Speaker 04

Nah, just breakfast in the morning, it's breakfast time, motherfuckers fighting on the bus.

• 13:55Speaker 03

  Really?

• 13:56Speaker 04

Like, how the fuck did my, so you seventh, eighth grade going through that, like, damn, this shit is crazy. Cause you were sheltered in the Catholic school, now you're on the city bus, and you're seeing the real world.

• 14:04Speaker 03

Okay, so when you get, when you go in for the first time, is there like a convo with 50 where like you talk to some people he might even know in there and there's people who could look out for you? Or is it, you really kinda?

• 14:14Speaker 04

50 had so much beef, so it was pretty much you're on your own.

• 14:17Speaker 03

Oh shit. Cause now you, cause what is it you said before, you inherited his beef?

• 14:21Speaker 04

The thing, the thing, what, what me was, what made it kinda easy for me is people didn't know what, what Yayo looked like. So I'd be on the bus and they'd be like, yo, Yayo, I swear to God, to my father, yo, Yayo just got cut up, right? And I'd be right behind them, like, yo, I just, they talking about me, and I'm like, damn.

• 14:40Speaker 04

They really didn't know us. Like, it took them a while to acknowledge us, cause remember the first mixtapes? People knew the lyrics, but they didn't know really the names.

• 14:47Speaker 03

  This is How to Rob.

• 14:49Speaker 04

  Lloyd Banks.

• 14:50Speaker 03

  Is that the song?

• 14:51Speaker 04

No, How to Rob was when 50 was on.

• 14:53Speaker 03

  That was earlier?

• 14:54Speaker 04

That was, that was Columbia days with Tone and Pope.

• 14:56Speaker 03

Okay, cause that was when I first heard shit start to pop and percolate on the radio in New York.

• 15:01Mark Gagnon?

But they went on a crazy mixtape run. Between How to Robin before.

• 15:04Speaker 03

  Okay, okay, okay.

• 15:05Speaker 04

Yeah, cause after 50 got shot, remember?

• 15:07Speaker 03

That is crazy, like, you don't realize it, without social media and not seeing somebody on MTV or BET, you really don't know what these guys look like. Maybe you're seeing them in like The Source magazine or something like that, but you don't have an idea of what they look like.

• 15:21Mark Gagnon?

And then they was printed out on these little grainy ass pictures and shit like that on mixtapes and stuff like that.

• 15:25Speaker 03

I didn't even know Eminem was white until, uh, TRL. No, I heard the song before. It sounded crazy.

• 15:35Speaker 03

But I thought it was a black dude making fun of white guys. And then I remember seeing with Jamil, Jamil's not here, but like, I remember seeing for the first time with Jamil, seeing the song, I think it was TRL.

• 15:45Speaker 04

  Yeah.

• 15:45Speaker 03

Yeah, and being like, oh shit.

• 15:47Speaker 04

I always blame my success to Eminem, because he's, he's actually like, I would say, in the top five, one of the biggest artists in the world, worldwide.

• 15:54Speaker 03

  That's, that's undeniable.

• 15:55Speaker 04

Yeah, without question, yeah. With him, like, the Free Yayo shit, imagine being on Rikers Island.

• 16:00Speaker 03

Yeah, what did that feel like?

• 16:01Speaker 04

Yo, it was fucking Eminem at the Grammys.

• 16:04Speaker 03

So, so yeah, paint this picture, right? So you're locked up. It's at the Grammys.

• 16:09Speaker 04

  Yeah.

• 16:09Speaker 03

They win for what? Or M Wims for?

• 16:12Speaker 04

And performed. I forgot what, I forgot what he won for, but he performed that time.

• 16:16Speaker 03

And then he's in a Free Yayo shirt.

• 16:18Speaker 04

Free Yayo shirt. That's what I'm saying. As for him and 50, I'm always gonna give him the props, because it's like, while I was in jail, they kept my name alive. Beg for mercy. 50 had my, my name on the, um, the album cover. And then Eminem wore the Free Yayo. There you go, right there.

• 16:31Speaker 03

So what happened, what happened in, in Rikers when, I mean, obviously guys are seeing that?

• 16:35Speaker 04

So you know, you know, Rikers is politics. So they say there's three things you stay away from. The phone, be careful with.

• 16:41Speaker 03

  Mm-hmm.

• 16:42Speaker 04

  The newspaper and the TV.

• 16:43Speaker 03

  Okay.

• 16:44Speaker 04

So, you know, so like, I had my slot on the phone. I definitely got my phone time, because, you know, I, I was cool with the guys. You know what I'm saying?

• 16:50Speaker 03

Who were the guys? Is that the CEOs, or is that like the?

• 16:53Speaker 04

Nah, the guys are never the CEOs, man. The guys are like, you know, the gang members.

• 16:57Speaker 03

  Got it, got it.

• 16:58Speaker 04

Or, or, or the muscle in there.

• 17:00Speaker 03

And how did you connect with them? How did you let them know?

• 17:02Speaker 04

Well, you know, they knew they was kinda like, I wouldn't say they was fans. I just was cool and realized the politics, like, don't come in there being too demanding. Like, if you come in there, learn the politics. Yeah. Like, my house, they didn't like sneak deaving. So if you sneak thief, that was great for me. Liked to be in the house. They didn't care if he was black, white, Mexican. Yo, somebody still, yo, somebody stole from my bucket. Because it turns you, you don't have to come into Allen being a gangster. It's gonna turn you into whatever it is. Like if he's in there, he's gonna be like, yo, so what's the rules in here? How does this work? You gotta figure that out, fast. So you got these two guys that run the phone. My man Barnes, which was P Diddy's security guard. Shout to him, he got a book, Dropping Two, telling all P Diddy shit and all kinds of shit. He's a solid dude, my man Barnes.

• 17:45Speaker 03

Could've used that book like five years ago.

• 17:47Mark Gagnon?

  Is that executive producer buffing?

• 17:49Speaker 04

No, no, no, it was not, not my fault. So my man Barnes, Barnes was like, he real big dude, he came out, he was Puff Daddy's security. And my man Spanky, he was blood, but the good thing about him is he was Spanish too. So he knew Spanish, but was blood, you know how Bronx motherfuckers is, they be... Bronx got the illest type of motherfucking people, you got, motherfucker was black and Spanish. So he knew Spanish, so if the Spanish guys were scheming, he knew. But he was blood too. So it was crazy, so they kinda ran the house.

• 18:19Speaker 03

And you, and you connect with them early on, you just kinda show respect?

• 18:23Speaker 04

Early, they, you know, they showed me love.

• 18:25Speaker 03

  Did anybody press you?

• 18:26Speaker 04

  Nah.

• 18:26Speaker 03

Not a single person when you came in?

• 18:28Speaker 04

Nah, nobody ever pressed me, cuz nobody really knew who I was, even the police didn't know who I was.

• 18:32Mark Gagnon?

But how long were you there?

• 18:34Speaker 04

I did probably like, probably seven, eight months, four, five months, I'm not sure.

• 18:38Mark Gagnon?

  That whole time, nobody?

• 18:40Speaker 04

That half of the time, nobody put two and two.

• 18:42Speaker 03

  Oh wow.

• 18:42Speaker 04

I was locked up the same time Styles P was locked up.

• 18:45Mark Gagnon?

  Okay.

• 18:46Speaker 04

So I remember, and I'd be on the bus and nobody knew, so when the free A O and all that shit happened, that's when they wanted to come put me in protective custody. Cuz you know they never wanna have a...

• 18:55Speaker 03

  A celebrity or...

• 18:56Speaker 04

Yeah, like Tory Lanez, shout to Tory Lanez, you know, pray to God he's good, but, you know, it gets real in jail, cuz like you gotta think, an artist coming to jail, you number one target.

• 19:06Mark Gagnon?

  Yep.

• 19:06Speaker 03

And that should create a problem for the...

• 19:08Speaker 04

Everybody wanna get a name off you.

• 19:10Speaker 03

Did any, was, would there, would there ever be anybody come in that was like him, like kinda cute? What do you mean him? No, come on.

• 19:16Speaker 04

  I don't know about that.

• 19:18Speaker 03

Like a little cutie pie with long hair? And then they just try to like immediately violate the fuck out of him?

• 19:24Speaker 04

I was in C seventy-three. So upstairs, there was a house for like...

• 19:28Mark Gagnon?

  The gays.

• 19:29Speaker 04

  For gays.

• 19:29Speaker 03

No, stop pointing, I'm not gay.

• 19:35Speaker 03

  They married to a guy.

• 19:38Speaker 03

I'm a straight, okay, I'm a Catholic, bro. You tried all these, you know, you know the kind of things in life, man.

• 19:45Speaker 04

I don't know nothing about that.

• 19:46Speaker 03

  He's roast duck.

• 19:51Speaker 03

That's caviar pancakes in C73. If he walks in C73.

• 19:56Speaker 04

I think they might try to extort him because there's a lot of extortion.

• 19:59Speaker 03

  Right. Yeah, yeah, yeah.

• 20:00Speaker 04

And then next thing you know, he might just turn blood or something.

• 20:02Speaker 03

  Exactly.

• 20:02Speaker 04

  Blood now, or some Crip.

• 20:04Speaker 03

I can see, I can see him turn blood. Yeah. I can see some blood dripping out your asshole or mouth or something.

• 20:12Speaker 03

I would join a, I would join a gang. I would join a gang, bro. A stray gang, a heterosexual gang. Now, when somebody does do that shit in jail. Well, Rikers is different than like prison, prison, right?

• 20:23Speaker 04

  Rikers is jail.

• 20:24Speaker 03

They not gonna be there for long. So it's more fights than it is like.

• 20:27Speaker 04

Because you got guys there that stayed in for like four or five years.

• 20:29Speaker 03

Which is crazy because that's gotta be.

• 20:30Speaker 04

But it's like, yo, you don't want to be there. Yo, bro, you do not want to be there. That, to me, that was my worst experience in life.

• 20:36Speaker 03

  Yeah.

• 20:37Speaker 04

I ain't go up top to the mountains, I did shot. But being in that alone was a lot mentally. You know, you wake up, dude's getting cut for breakfast or you wake up and you hear fighting. Imagine you hear footsteps, like sleeping and you hear footsteps. What's going on? You gotta alert, yo, they fighting up there. Alarms ringing, everything's going crazy.

• 20:53Speaker 03

  Damn.

• 20:54Speaker 04

  CSU coming.

• 20:55Speaker 03

  Was there anybody that had?

• 20:56Speaker 04

You know what TSU was like? The COs, when they come with the.

• 20:58Speaker 03

  TSU?

• 20:59Speaker 04

The, the, uh, the turtles, when the turtles come.

• 21:01Speaker 03

  Oh, yeah.

• 21:02Speaker 04

  With shields.

• 21:02Speaker 03

They just have all the swat.

• 21:03Speaker 04

Somebody got cut in the hallway.

• 21:05Speaker 03

Swat, almost like swat, but for.

• 21:06Speaker 04

They strip you naked, your ass naked in front of everybody, put you on your knees. Don't look at me. They got the fucking shields, the freezing.

• 21:11Speaker 03

That's all you guys strip you naked?

• 21:12Speaker 04

Yeah, all of us. Somebody get cut, everybody, everybody.

• 21:14Speaker 03

Was everybody, was anybody measuring? Was that?

• 21:16Speaker 04

  I'm not.

• 21:18Speaker 03

This is crazy. He's not gonna last in prison.

• 21:21Speaker 04

I ain't think about that, bro. I'm thinking about, yo, why the fuck am I here, bro?

• 21:27Speaker 04

Somebody wants to smell another man's shit. And then the guy's girl, you break up with your girl, he want to stab you now? What the fuck?

• 21:34Speaker 03

Oh, so they're just so emotionally wrecked that they're trying to take out their shit on everybody. All of our tour dates in less than 30 seconds. Providence, Rhode Island, March 28th. • 22:34Speaker 04

  Rikers is just crazy, bro.

• 22:35Speaker 03

Did you have one night of sleep there where you're like, "Ah, I got good eight hours, that was fun"?

• 22:38Speaker 04

I mean, you know, you know what's crazy? If you mind your business and know how to move, like, don't gamble, because you know you gamble. You're like, he like, gambling.

• 22:45Mark Gagnon?

A little bit, a little bit.

• 22:46Speaker 04

They kidnapping him. You know, gambling, that's, you know how that shit go. Arguing over TV, like, the Eminem thing, I went to people, "Yo, I listen, I want to watch Eminem." Grammys. Because you know, back then, the Spanish dudes had Caliente. Remember Caliente? You know, the hot chicks. Everybody in jail used to love that show. Blacks, black dudes didn't mind watching Caliente.

• 23:07Speaker 04

Put it on, put it on.

• 23:12Speaker 04

So that's, that's how it was, the, um, the, uh, black dude spit, yeah, "Look, man, watch this Caliente, watch." See, now imagine you could get this channel in jail.

• 23:21Speaker 03

  Oh, wow. Okay.

• 23:23Mark Gagnon?

And then they would always have the hot news and weather.

• 23:26Speaker 04

Yeah, so we used to watch it, so dudes used to watch Caliente.

• 23:29Speaker 03

So it's just, it's just 100 dudes all sitting together watching Caliente?

• 23:32Speaker 04

Yeah, you got the hot chicks, you ain't seeing no women, you ain't smelling women in years. I don't want to see this dude, but.

• 23:39Speaker 03

You're just in prison watching shirtless dudes? That's crazy.

• 23:42Speaker 04

Yeah, so we didn't mind watching Caliente, because you were seeing the women on there, you know what I'm saying? Bikinis and all that.

• 23:47Speaker 03

  Okay.

• 23:48Mark Gagnon?

But then you try to put on Eminem.

• 23:50Speaker 03

So then you say, "Guys, can I watch the Grammys"?

• 23:52Speaker 04

  Yeah.

• 23:53Speaker 03

So then they go, "All right, we're gonna watch the Grammys." Everybody's cool with that. Spanish dudes are cool with it.

• 23:58Speaker 04

  Yeah, everybody's cool.

• 23:59Speaker 03

Happens. At this point, they know you're yayo or nah?

• 24:03Speaker 04

  Yeah, they know I'm yayo.

• 24:03Speaker 03

Okay, so then when they see the shirt, is there like a cool kind of recognition that's happening? Everybody's excited for you?

• 24:09Speaker 04

Like, "Oh shit, yo, oh, that's good shit, that's crazy Eminem." That's crazy, because you got to remember, a lot of dudes in the hood would be like, "Yo, we don't listen to Eminem in the car." Right? "We don't listen to Eminem, we're gonna put Jay-Z or somebody else over him, right?" But for me, when I heard Renegade?

• 24:24Speaker 03

  Oh, yeah, that was crazy.

• 24:25Speaker 04

To me, that's like Eminem's classic verse. To me, that's what gave him the hood to me, before I knew him. So that gave him the hood recognition. Cause to me, him and M, who you think won that battle on there?

• 24:37Mark Gagnon?

No question. I mean, no comments, alright.

• 24:40Speaker 04

Go ahead, say it. Come on.

• 24:43Speaker 04

You can say it, so just say it, say what you.

• 24:45Mark Gagnon?

  Jay-Z won, he won that.

• 24:47Speaker 04

  I, I, I disagree.

• 24:48Speaker 03

  Yeah, so does he.

• 24:50Speaker 04

I disagree with that. I gotta disagree with you. How can you?

• 24:56Speaker 03

It's just one verse, it's one verse.

• 24:59Mark Gagnon?

When he starts being honest about Banks' verse, Fab, then I'm.

• 25:02Speaker 04

So I'm not, so what's not to be honest on that?

• 25:05Mark Gagnon?

I'm just saying, Fab is better than Banks.

• 25:07Speaker 04

Yo, you know what Banks would say? You got your nails painted, you can't give an.

• 25:12Speaker 04

His nails is a painted, giving opinions on hip hop.

• 25:15Speaker 03

  That is crazy.

• 25:16Speaker 04

That's what people are gonna say to you.

• 25:17Mark Gagnon?

  It's art, it's art.

• 25:18Speaker 04

Nah, buddy, you can't give it, nobody's gonna, nobody's gonna take that vote.

• 25:22Speaker 03

If he showed up in, in prison with the Pokemon on his nails.

• 25:25Speaker 04

Oh nah, you, he know it's him. He's supposed to be from Far Rock, he's not even supposed to have that on.

• 25:31Speaker 03

Yeah, yeah. What would happen, what would happen?

• 25:33Speaker 04

Oh yeah, he's cool, they're gonna rob him.

• 25:35Speaker 03

Yeah, 100%. He's Cali Antin, really.

• 25:39Speaker 04

That's what Banks would say to him, like, yo, how can a person, not, not to diss you, I don't care. It's your style, but how can a person with their nails painted, judge hip hop?

• 25:47Speaker 03

  Yeah.

• 25:48Speaker 04

Hip hop is an aggressive sport. We talking about KRS-One and MC Shan, we talking about Cool G Rap and Eric B and Big Daddy Kane. It had its good side, like when we had Self Destruction and stuff like that with Miss Melody and Stop the Valence, which rappers would never do now, ever, cause they would never do that. We are the world record, that was like the, we are the world record of rap. It came in aggressive, it came in battle. So when you see like, like, I'm gonna tell you a story.

• 26:15Speaker 03

The most aggressive rappers went to private school.

• 26:17Speaker 04

I'm gonna tell y'all a crazy story. Look, look, no, but listen, it's the nails, see, I'm telling you. With the nails, man, he just put on that. If we see the media, if we see the business media, 50's gonna be like, what's going on with this guy?

• 26:33Speaker 03

Nah, he was giving me that energy, he was here, trust me.

• 26:35Speaker 04

I'm gonna, listen, I'm gonna tell you the truth, look, so look, and this is why, shout out to A$AP Rocky, he got the like number one album on Billboard. Hip hop, hip hop New York, we needed that, cause nobody was really on Billboard.

• 26:44Mark Gagnon?

  That's true.

• 26:45Speaker 04

Right, so I'm gonna give you the perfect example. One day, it's years, years ago, this is like probably 10 years ago, this is like a premiere to the movie, it's Snoop, 50, me, and ASAP pulls up, right?

• 27:00Speaker 04

And ASAP could vouch the story. He, the first dude I seen with the man purse.

• 27:05Speaker 03

  Yeah.

• 27:06Speaker 04

Ever. This is like 10 years ago.

• 27:07Speaker 03

  Yeah.

• 27:08Speaker 04

He had it around his strap because he was familiar going to Europe and has an overseas kind of brand. Shout to ASAP, you know, you know ASAP, they big. You know, they're one of the biggest in Harlem.

• 27:16Speaker 03

  Of course, yeah.

• 27:17Speaker 04

So he had the bag. So everybody's looking like, what the fuck is that? Like 50's looking like, what, he put his money in there? Everybody's looking like, what the fuck is that? He pulled me to the side and said, yo, I know you don't know what the fuck this is right now. But watch and see what this is. And now everybody has the man purse. Me, would I do it? Like buy a Birkin? Hell no. That's more like a girl bag to me. I wouldn't buy a Birkin for like 15 thou, but it's the style for certain dudes. But it's not my style. You know what I'm saying? I think it's, you know, I see a lot of dudes with the Birkins and shit's expensive. I understand if you collect them, all that, but hip hop is hip hop. Hip hop was big chains. Rakim, Big Daddy Kane, not painted nails, brother.

• 27:59Speaker 03

  Exactly, yeah.

• 27:59Mark Gagnon?

  ASAP Rocky got painted nails.

• 28:01Speaker 04

  I never seen it.

• 28:02Mark Gagnon?

  What you mean?

• 28:03Speaker 04

And if he doing that, he getting paid from Gucci or somebody.

• 28:08Speaker 04

  He can do that.

• 28:09Speaker 03

Yo, why you doing this for the love of the game, man?

• 28:11Mark Gagnon?

You don't know I got a Sephora deal or some shit like that?

• 28:14Speaker 04

So your bank's, um, fab thing is not valid. Once you take those off, maybe. But on Renegade, I felt like for Eminem to be a new rapper and, and, and, and Jay was established.

• 28:26Speaker 03

  Yeah.

• 28:26Speaker 04

  It was, it was debatable.

• 28:28Mark Gagnon?

  Nah.

• 28:29Speaker 04

You can't say it's not debatable.

• 28:30Mark Gagnon?

  Oh, it's absolutely debatable.

• 28:31Speaker 04

He got the hood. Cause I know when I was in the car still selling drugs and moving around. And I heard that and I didn't know who Eminem or didn't, never met Jay or never, nobody in the rap game. I was in the car and I was like, damn, who the fuck is that? I got a lion in my pocket. I'm lying. I got the iron in my pocket. Come on, bro. He just don't want to give it up.

• 28:50Speaker 03

You think, you think he don't want to?

• 28:51Speaker 04

He don't want to give it to the white boy.

• 28:52Speaker 03

  Exactly.

• 28:53Speaker 04

It's like a black hockey player.

• 28:54Speaker 03

  Yeah.

• 28:56Speaker 04

  It's the same thing.

• 28:56Speaker 03

  Yeah.

• 28:57Speaker 04

Ben Zino hated us. Everybody hated us when we signed with M, but M did the most for us. So people would be like, yeah, Eminem is this, he's racist, he's that, he's fucked up, he's this kind of person. But he put us on. Like I was like, damn, this shit is, like we got on repeatedly. That's why G Unit is still an overseas brand. We could still go overseas, like I went on my own tour, Swiss Alps, Germany, Luxembourg, myself, cuz of Eminem.

• 29:20Speaker 03

  Wow.

• 29:21Speaker 04

Fifty, still touring, hundred and three dates. They gotta book him two times cuz he's selling out the arena, passing capacity.

• 29:27Speaker 03

  Yeah.

• 29:27Speaker 04

  It's twenty years later.

• 29:28Speaker 03

  Yeah, so come on.

• 29:30Speaker 04

  It's twenty years later.

• 29:31Speaker 03

Give it up for the white boy.

• 29:32Speaker 04

Nobody wants to give you props, why?

• 29:34Speaker 03

  Eminem's in my top five.

• 29:34Speaker 04

Cuz Eminem, cuz a white boy put us on and everybody scared to say it.

• 29:38Speaker 03

  Uh huh.

• 29:38Speaker 04

  He's, it's like a black hockey player.

• 29:40Speaker 03

  Uh.

• 29:41Speaker 04

Any hockey. Imagine you had a black hockey player, you know what I'm saying?

• 29:46Speaker 03

  No, he's playing hockey.

• 29:49Speaker 04

  No, no, no.

• 29:50Speaker 03

  That's like a gang activity, that's crazy.

• 29:53Speaker 04

My fault, but, that's like, imagine if we had a black, imagine if we had a black hockey player that was super nice, he wouldn't be the best?

• 29:59Speaker 03

They did have one, they had a few actually. There's a guy who played for the Montreal Canadiens, yeah, P K Subban.

• 30:07Speaker 04

  Oh, wow.

• 30:07Speaker 03

And there was another guy who played for the Calgary Flames that was nice.

• 30:10Speaker 04

Oh, see, I didn't know that, see?

• 30:11Speaker 03

So there's been a few, there's been a few. But yes, it's rare.

• 30:15Speaker 04

But Eminem, a lot of people was like, oh, yo, but when everybody hated on us, we had to go to go to Detroit in the West Coast.

• 30:21Speaker 03

I think you got a lot of that.

• 30:22Speaker 04

You heard what Irv said, what Irv, what Irv Gotti said. He said, I was trying to get everybody to block Fifty.

• 30:29Speaker 03

Who, oh, all them were trying to?

• 30:31Speaker 04

Yeah, they said it was, I wish you would sign the universal because they would have blocked, we had to go to Eminem. So Eminem had balls, he had most balls and more rappers, he stood up to Suge Knight.

• 30:39Speaker 03

Yeah, that's crazy. Can you tell that story?

• 30:41Speaker 04

They just mad, they, y'all just, the whole thing is the, the industry, not saying you're mad, but the critics, they gotta understand, we was the most hated, so it was, it's hard to really get traction, like, for instance, when, when, when DJ Khaled is hot, what do motherfuckers do? Stand next to the fire. I'm gonna go get a Khaled record.

• 30:58Speaker 03

  That's every industry.

• 30:58Speaker 04

We didn't have the same advantages because of the hate.

• 31:02Speaker 03

  Hmm.

• 31:03Speaker 04

So let me give you the perfect example, a lot of Fab's biggest records are what features. Other people wrote the record and he's featured on it. Did he do a good job on it? Yes, when you go to Karma and all the records that Banks has, he wrote the hook that Avant made. Joe, he wrote the hook, he wrote the record. Fab's biggest records are features, brother. And then you want to talk about J and M? But Fab. M sold sixteen million. Yes. What are we judging artists on? Are you go- you want your artists to be in clubs like me? Cause it's cool, I could do. Or do you want them to be in arenas? Yeah, arenas. Do you want them with their nails painted? Or do you want them to survive in Rikers two, three years? But objectively Fab is nice. Come on. Objectively, he's nice and rap. I'm not saying he's not nice. That's what I'm saying.

• 31:47Speaker 04

Definitely nice, but I feel Banks is better. A lot of his biggest records or features, a lot of Banks' biggest records, he wrote by himself. Right. Banks' mixtape catalog, we was the hottest in the streets. And the reason why I give you these examples, cause Fab was on our tour, buddy.

• 32:04Speaker 04

And Fab wanted to sign with us, buddy. So who's better? This hurts being from far rock. So who's better? I love both of them. They always try to take away from Fifty. Kid Richard Dottre, and it's like twenty-five years later. He does more shows than anybody. No, you can't. Your favorite rapper can't get a live nation contract. Come on, J. Your favorite rapper. Come on, J. Your favorite rapper, J and Ken with Beyonce and everybody else. No, no. You know what I'm saying? Is that a one tour? Your favorite rapper can't. Or is that your girl's tour, Ash? Turn that shit on. Turn that shit on. Your favorite rapper can't turn down eight million dollars. Fifty not an M's team foul. Yeah, exactly. Fifty's not an M's team foul. Listen, look, Eminem, Eminem, Eminem could turn down eight million, bro. Yes. You done seen that Eminem turned down tours, bro. Mm-hmm.

• 32:48Speaker 04

Don't be like, yo, we give you three hundred million, four hundred million. Nah, I don't want to do that. Yeah. Way back. M's in my top box. With Haley, when Haley was little. J's in my top box. I don't want to do that tour. Damn, Eminem don't want a tour? He's turning out eight mil. When you see him go with the, with the shorty dude, you know, the shorty dude that's buying everything? Yeah. Fucking. Yeah, Turkey. What's, what's his name? Turkey or MBS? The guy that does all the Jake Paul fights and all, the new guy. Turkey, Turkey. Yeah, he's buying all the shit, he's buying like, shout to him, give me a job or something, bro.

• 33:20Speaker 04

Culture ambassador. He's buying everything, he's buying fucking, uh, boxing and everything. Yeah. Come on, bro. If, if he have Eminem, yo, give Eminem eight million, ten million. That's the kind of money we talking about.

• 33:32Speaker 03

  It was a fire.

• 33:34Speaker 04

What do you judge your artists off of? Let me know. Cause there's only a selective rappers that get Live Nation tour.

• 33:40Mark Gagnon?

  We're not disagreeing though.

• 33:42Speaker 03

  Fifty. Nah, you're disagreeing.

• 33:43Mark Gagnon?

  We're not disagreeing.

• 33:44Speaker 04

NBA Youngboy's going on his first one, Nicki, she just did hers.

• 33:47Speaker 03

Now that you're saying this, fuck you, yo.

• 33:49Speaker 04

  Yeah, fuck you.

• 33:50Speaker 03

Really fucking loud, you stupid male. You're a little sexy ass.

• 33:53Mark Gagnon?

  Eminem.

• 33:55Speaker 03

You're fucking gay ass, whatever. You get what I was trying to say, yo. That came out weird.

• 34:00Speaker 04

Look, Jay got ten, ten platinum albums, eleven platinum albums.

• 34:03Speaker 03

  Jay's incredible, yes.

• 34:04Speaker 04

He's incredible, but Eminem sold sixteen million records. Fifty sold eleven million.

• 34:09Speaker 03

So this is the thing with, this is the thing with fifty, it's like fifty.

• 34:13Speaker 04

What? It's how, oh, he's, see, what he said, it's a little difference, he white.

• 34:16Speaker 03

  Yeah.

• 34:17Speaker 04

  There goes the hate.

• 34:18Speaker 03

  Racist. That's not hate.

• 34:18Speaker 04

So what about fifth, fifth sold eleven million?

• 34:20Mark Gagnon?

But that's what I'm saying, fifth is right up there with Jay.

• 34:24Speaker 03

  But nah, here's.

• 34:24Speaker 04

Jay never sold eleven million, bro, what are you talking about?

• 34:27Mark Gagnon?

  He has a.

• 34:28Speaker 04

Ten albums, this guy doesn't know his hip hop, bro.

• 34:30Speaker 03

  Nah, he doesn't understand.

• 34:31Speaker 04

He has a million, a million, a million, a million copies, a million copies, a million copies, a million copies. A million copies, a million copies. He's a genius, we're talking about on one album.

• 34:41Mark Gagnon?

Three times platinum, I'm pretty sure.

• 34:43Speaker 04

  About ten times?

• 34:43Mark Gagnon?

  Three.

• 34:44Speaker 04

  That's not, that's not.

• 34:45Speaker 03

But we're talking about twenty million records. Yeah, we're talking about Caviar in Paris, we're talking about.

• 34:49Speaker 04

And you look it up, look it up, cause the black album probably did a million, bro.

• 34:52Mark Gagnon?

  Nah, I'm telling you.

• 34:53Speaker 04

And Jay is a genius, but.

• 34:54Speaker 03

  Nah, Jay is brilliant.

• 34:55Speaker 04

You gotta understand the business, Jay is a genius.

• 34:57Speaker 03

  But numbers are numbers.

• 34:58Speaker 04

Look, numbers are numbers, but Jay is a genius, just like one of his albums.

• 35:02Speaker 03

Fifty said it sold over thirty million albums worldwide.

• 35:04Speaker 04

  Here we go.

• 35:05Speaker 03

  Okay.

• 35:06Speaker 04

Now go to Jay's black album and see what it sold, and I hating on Jay-Z, he's a fucking genius.

• 35:10Speaker 03

  He's a genius.

• 35:10Speaker 04

But you gotta understand the facts.

• 35:12Mark Gagnon?

But the type of career I would want Jay's career over fifty's.

• 35:15Speaker 04

  You're fucking on drugs.

• 35:18Mark Gagnon?

  Don't ever listen to this.

• 35:19Speaker 03

  I'm just saying.

• 35:21Speaker 04

  He's got to be.

• 35:22Speaker 03

  I'm just saying.

• 35:22Speaker 04

This guy is out of his fucking mind.

• 35:24Speaker 03

You have eleven, eleven number one albums.

• 35:26Speaker 04

  He's just a Jay-Z. I'm not gonna call my glazer. I'm not gonna say you're a Jay-Z.

• 35:30Speaker 03

  How many Jay-Z glazer?

• 35:31Speaker 04

  I'm not gonna say you're a Jay-Z glazer.

• 35:32Speaker 03

He's a good guy to glaze.

• 35:34Mark Gagnon?

  I'm a, I'm a Jay-Z fan.

• 35:35Speaker 04

  No, I'm not gonna say you're a Jay-Z glazer.

• 35:37Mark Gagnon?

  I'm a fifty fan, I'm Eminem fan.

• 35:38Speaker 04

  Okay, okay.

• 35:39Mark Gagnon?

  But I'm just saying.

• 35:40Speaker 04

The difference, the reason why. I think, I think you sound crazy and you're just a 50, you might just be a 50 hater.

• 35:47Speaker 03

  Nah, nah, nah.

• 35:48Speaker 04

We all love 50. Now, look, so look, he said he'd rather have Jay career over 50, right?

• 35:54Speaker 03

Yeah, me personally, no, but yeah.

• 35:57Speaker 04

Listen, Jay's presentation is good. I think 50 always has the best presentation in hip hop. And what I'm saying is Jay will do a deal and we can look it up. Remember when he had the album with Samsung? And he, and they bought a million copies before he even dropped?

• 36:11Mark Gagnon?

  That's a fire.

• 36:12Speaker 04

He always found a way to win.

• 36:14Speaker 03

  Jay's brilliant.

• 36:15Speaker 04

He always found a way to win. When, when he had his percentage in the ball clays, he used that. He had a good presentation, but when 50 Cent dropped, it felt like Tupac came back from the day.

• 36:26Speaker 03

  Yes, but no.

• 36:27Speaker 04

  Listen.

• 36:30Speaker 03

  No disrespect.

• 36:31Speaker 04

No, no, no. And look, cause, cause let's keep it real.

• 36:34Speaker 03

  Bring the hammer down.

• 36:35Speaker 04

Jay is smart enough, you gotta let me finish.

• 36:37Speaker 03

  Alright.

• 36:37Speaker 04

Jay is smart enough to stand to what? Stand next to the fire.

• 36:40Speaker 03

  Yes.

• 36:41Speaker 04

  That's what the.

• 36:42Speaker 03

Kanye album, R. Kelly album, R. Kelly album.

• 36:45Speaker 04

  Let me talk.

• 36:45Speaker 03

  R. Kelly.

• 36:45Speaker 04

Who was on Jay-Z? Look, when did 50 tour with Jay-Z? Look it up. I was in jail. Cause he was standing next to the fire.

• 36:53Speaker 03

  That's smart.

• 36:53Speaker 04

  Jay admitted it.

• 36:54Speaker 03

  That's smart.

• 36:55Speaker 04

50 had the most hate. Niggas didn't need to stand next to the fire to heat up. That's all niggas do and it's 20 years later and we're still doing 103 shows.

• 37:04Speaker 03

  Yes, but when I say.

• 37:05Speaker 04

103 shows, still doing, got 40 films coming out.

• 37:09Speaker 03

Jay, Jay never had the cultural stranglehold.

• 37:12Speaker 04

Cause look, I didn't, listen, the three big dogs out of New York, you never can take. P. Diddy, Jay-Z, 50 Cent. 50 Cent is way younger than niggas, right? These niggas are much older. They came in the game way before us. That's what you're not thinking about. Jay was successful already. Nas, everybody was successful. We came into 2000s later on down the line and 50 has more success than a lot of motherfuckers, bro.

• 37:41Speaker 03

I don't think, what I, I guess what I would say is like, I don't know if Jay. Crossed over and had cultural impacts the way that 50 did. And I think Jay definitely did a lot of things to do that. He did the crossover thing with the, what's the rock group?

• 37:55Speaker 04

  Linkin Park.

• 37:56Speaker 03

Linkin Park, like he made these efforts to crossover and he's ubiquitous. Everybody knows who Jay-Z is, massive success, brilliant guy, etc. But in terms of like, there's a moment in history where everybody in the world knows this person, knows the music, knows the songs.

• 38:09Speaker 04

  Stop the world.

• 38:10Speaker 03

There's only a few artists, rock, rap, country, R and B that have done that.

• 38:16Speaker 04

  Cause Jay don't have a

• 38:18Speaker 03

  This is gonna sound

• 38:20Speaker 03

  Oh, stop.

• 38:21Speaker 04

Oprah was rocking to that. Everybody, the whole world. You have to come on the road. Can I get a drink?

• 38:34Speaker 04

He don't understand, he don't understand. When that drops. Our biggest enemy is Ja Rule, when they even said it. Yo, when that drop, we know it's a problem.

• 38:43Speaker 03

  You hear that everywhere.

• 38:44Speaker 04

I understand, but you see this right here, you see the Dream Team, Dr. Dre and them? Trust me, that was the biggest impact in New York City.

• 38:49Speaker 03

Jay had crazy songs, like now you're not problems.

• 38:51Speaker 04

But you know, when this dropped. It was over. When Jay-Z, we had video games, cereal, socks.

• 38:57Speaker 03

But like you said, like you said.

• 38:58Speaker 04

We had pajamas, we had sneakers.

• 39:01Speaker 03

  The sneakers are hard.

• 39:02Speaker 04

So video games. What are these guys talking about?

• 39:04Speaker 03

11 number one albums, that means that's a whole career.

• 39:07Speaker 04

Cause Eminem blew cause he was white.

• 39:09Speaker 03

No, no, no. I say so more.

• 39:11Speaker 04

He's a white, he's hated on the white guy. You ain't kinda racist.

• 39:16Speaker 04

Black people can be racist too sometimes.

• 39:17Speaker 03

  Thank you.

• 39:18Mark Gagnon?

Yo, that's crazy that you're saying it.

• 39:21Speaker 03

  Thank you.

• 39:22Mark Gagnon?

You can tell he lives out in the burbs right now.

• 39:26Speaker 03

He's here roast duck from Morocco.

• 39:28Speaker 04

Listen, come on. No, no, I'm gonna keep it real, let's keep it real, you know what I'm saying? Everybody stereotypes, they just don't wanna keep it real.

• 39:35Speaker 03

  Yes.

• 39:35Speaker 04

And I'm gonna, I'm gonna give you a story.

• 39:37Speaker 03

  This whole show is

• 39:39Speaker 04

I'm in my, I'm in my Bentley. I'm arguing with a cab driver, he cunts me off.

• 39:45Speaker 04

  I call him a terrorist.

• 39:48Speaker 04

And look, I was wrong for that. I never, you know, man? Fucking terrorists, this is years ago. When shit was happening, right? You know what he's saying to me? Where's your father?

• 39:59Mark Gagnon?

  Oh. See?

• 40:00Speaker 04

So, everybody staring for the black man, you know, when you go in the store, you going steal, or whatever.

• 40:05Mark Gagnon?

  Right.

• 40:05Speaker 04

Just because I live in the burbs, you think I don't go through shit? When I'm in my supermarket and people's looking like, what is this nigga doing here?

• 40:11Mark Gagnon?

  Right.

• 40:11Speaker 04

You think I don't go through shit sometimes?

• 40:13Mark Gagnon?

  Yeah, I know.

• 40:13Speaker 04

You get stereotyped in the burbs? Look, you get, look, you get, you get criticized in the burbs or the street by everybody's stereotypes. You might see an Asian person, where you think, oh, this guy can't drive. You see, you see, now you see, because of the racial shit with Ice, you see, oh, Ice. Now, niggas say, Ice, man, I'll call Ice on you. I'm not that type of person.

• 40:33Mark Gagnon?

  Right.

• 40:33Speaker 04

I don't get into politics and religion much. That's not my thing. Learned that at media training, but sometimes, nigga said, media training. But, motherfucker, you just said, yo, Eminem just sold because he was white. He was good, motherfucker! That's when you sound a little racist.

• 40:48Mark Gagnon?

Eminem's in my top five, but you know, it did help him, like, to be a general success.

• 40:55Speaker 04

  Dr. Dre was his producer.

• 40:57Mark Gagnon?

  I know.

• 40:58Speaker 04

  That helped!

• 40:59Mark Gagnon?

  That helps too.

• 40:59Speaker 04

You got the best producer in the world producing the shit!

• 41:02Mark Gagnon?

I, I, same, that helps too, but I'm just saying, in terms of-

• 41:05Speaker 04

Stereotype, so we ain't gonna say racist.

• 41:07Speaker 03

How about this, how about this?

• 41:08Speaker 04

  It's stereotype.

• 41:08Speaker 03

How about this? I think what he's trying to say is, remember when Jeremy Lin was balling for the Knicks? Remember the Asian guy, Jeremy Lin?

• 41:15Speaker 04

  Yeah, he was a sensation.

• 41:15Speaker 03

He was a sensation, yeah, exactly. So, I think what happened, I think what happened is that a lot of Asians saw their first NBA baller who was out there hitting game-winning shots. He was tearing up the Garden. I remember going to those games, it was like 50% Asian. I've never seen so many Asians at the Garden. So, I think what happened is, white people who loved rap finally saw somebody who was really good and looked like him, but-

• 41:35Mark Gagnon?

  He thought he was black.

• 41:36Speaker 03

Wait for it, wait for it.

• 41:37Mark Gagnon?

He, he thought Eminem was black until he heard it.

• 41:39Speaker 03

But wait for it, wait for it. He also happened to be nice.

• 41:44Mark Gagnon?

  That's what I'm saying.

• 41:44Speaker 03

Because there've been white rappers before that that didn't reach that level.

• 41:47Mark Gagnon?

  Yes, so it's a combination.

• 41:48Speaker 04

He had bars. See, you was thinking, look, this, this is how he's thinking, right?

• 41:51Speaker 03

He's the nicest at rapping at the time, he got the best producer, and he's doing something that nobody else is really doing, like that kind of internal angst we weren't seeing in hip-hop at all.

• 42:00Speaker 04

But you, but you're stereotyping, and I'm gonna tell you why. I'm not gonna say racist, because it'd be always people, I ain't taking sensitive. Yeah, how can a black person be racist? We stereotype too.

• 42:09Mark Gagnon?

  Yeah.

• 42:09Speaker 04

We do that. Everybody does, like I just told you, right?

• 42:11Mark Gagnon?

Probably do it both, like I said.

• 42:12Speaker 03

  What's your favorite, favorite stereotype?

• 42:19Speaker 04

They always think a black person is gonna steal when you come into the store. That's what I'm saying, in the suburbs, you act like I'm not dealing with nothing.

• 42:25Speaker 03

  Did you ever steal?

• 42:26Speaker 04

He live in the suburbs now, I hate when people say that. And I had to adjust, and you know how white people jokes are, y'all jokes are different, man.

• 42:32Speaker 03

  Yeah, what are our jokes?

• 42:33Speaker 04

Y'all just get little dick jokes, like.

• 42:36Speaker 04

Like I was showing my guy, um, some guys, um, some shit, me traveling. And the guy from breakfast goes, "Yo, Yayo, you showing your dick pics again?" Like, it's just, you know.

• 42:46Speaker 04

  You know what I'm saying?

• 42:46Speaker 03

  I know.

• 42:47Speaker 04

White people jokes is a little different than that.

• 42:49Speaker 03

We got gay fun, we play with gay a lot.

• 42:51Speaker 04

Listen, white people play with gay, listen, bro.

• 42:54Speaker 03

You got my nails is painted.

• 42:55Speaker 04

Yo, look, I experienced it, cuz I was gonna kill Tony. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Nobody care about that shit, nobody care about that shit. I'm gonna ask him for the address for three, four days, and this motherfucker didn't tell me.

• 43:10Speaker 04

You ain't even mic'd up. For three, four days, I'm mic'd up, motherfucker, I'm mic'd up. Shut this motherfucker up. I'm gonna ask him for the address for three days, and he sent it to me three hours before the show. Honestly, I wanna be on the show by myself. Exactly, see? You gotta watch motherfuckers like him, you gotta watch motherfuckers like him. I didn't want him on this show.

• 43:25Speaker 03

Uncle Murda's in the building, ladies and gentlemen!

• 43:32Speaker 04

So, what was he talking about for my boy, Kev? That was here earlier.

• 43:36Speaker 03

He was, he was just, uh, he was just saying that he thinks that Eminem's overrated.

• 43:39Speaker 04

It's Kyle, yo, now let me ask you. Who said that? Yo, look, now let me tell you. Yayo said he think Eminem is overrated.

• 43:45Speaker 03

Oh, you gonna flip out at Uncle Murda? Yo, it's crazy.

• 43:48Speaker 04

Em, look, he was talking crazy, look. Wow. He was talking crazy, show, look at, show him the nails, show Em, Uncle Murda.

• 43:56Speaker 03

  God damn.

• 43:57Speaker 04

  Those nails is a pause.

• 44:00Speaker 04

It's not, now you taking his opinion, Em, bro. Now you taking his opinion, Em, bro. Those nails is a pause and a no-bid.

• 44:09Speaker 04

  Old head nigga, man.

• 44:10Speaker 03

  Always, always old head.

• 44:11Speaker 04

You know, a Diddy party, niggas gonna be dancing on you, nigga.

• 44:15Speaker 03

Did you think about taking off the nails for today?

• 44:17Speaker 04

Nah, I didn't, but I wish I did. You should have fucked with Uncle Murda and told him, yeah. And you know where he's from, Paul Rockaway. Oh, my god.

• 44:27Speaker 06

There's gangsters out there. I don't even know how you getting away with them nails.

• 44:32Speaker 06

  That's gangsters in Far Rockaway.

• 44:33Speaker 03

Murder, this is Alex and this is Mark.

• 44:35Mark Gagnon?

  Yes.

• 44:36Speaker 06

  Nice to meet y'all.

• 44:37Mark Gagnon?

  Nice to meet y'all.

• 44:38Speaker 03

Gangsters and gangsters like R and B too, bro.

• 44:39Speaker 06

Nice to meet y'all, man. I met this guy before, so me and Andrew alright, we good.

And getting his house built by the Asian guy.

• 47:56Mark Gagnon?

• 48:10Speaker 04

Yeah, because you started saying white because Eminem sold because he was white. So I said that was racist.

• 48:14Mark Gagnon?

It didn't help. Do you think it helps that Eminem was white?

• 48:18Speaker 06

Of course, but you can't knock a motherfucker for having a connection for the connection, motherfucker. That's how he was born, motherfucker. You can't make it.

• 48:29Speaker 06

  You can't take it back.

• 48:30Speaker 04

You can't bring that up. You can't bring that up when they got bars.

• 48:33Speaker 06

• 48:37Mark Gagnon?

I put him in my top five, ends in my top five, but...

• 48:39Speaker 04

So now, this is what we know. He's gonna be buying paintings and building two hundred million dollar weird cribs and all that. You gonna, you that type of nigga.

• 48:46Speaker 06

You want Eminem to be black, is that what you want?

• 48:48Speaker 04

He still gonna be chopped cheese and all that.

• 48:49Speaker 06

How do you want him to do it?

• 48:49Mark Gagnon?

I still go to the hood. It's all good. You gotta do both.

• 48:51Speaker 04

You ain't going far Rockaway with that.

• 48:55Mark Gagnon?

I might wear gloves when I go.

• 48:56Speaker 04

Wear gloves. Wear your gloves. Everything else is cool. But we ain't gonna accept no opinion from you. Like I said...

And you haven't even gotten to the end of the episode, so you don't even know how much more he goes through it. It gets worse, guys. Or better, way better for me. For Mark and I, we are enjoying ourselves. I don't even understand all the politics, I don't really know most of the names, but man, that was awesome. I agree with Yayo 100%. Okay, I would say 70% of the episode, Yayo's hand is in Alex's face as he's trying to talk. He's just Heisman-ing you, happy episode. Yeah. Yo, what are the odds Al takes off his nail polish before next pod? What are the calcio odds on that? Ooh.

Right now, if you trade $10, Calci's gonna give you $10 free when you use the promo code FLAGRANT. Yeah, Chris and Neef, yeah, yeah. Okay, alright. There's more, there's numerous shit we can look up. Like, you can look up, uh, when Jay-Z said, "Sometimes a rap game remind me of the crab game", and that was his demo, and Irv Gotti and niggas was listening to it. And look up 50, 50, kinda inspiring, it's the same kinda record. Shit, you gotta, you don't know your hip-hop, see, you don't know nothing. You got glittery nails. Wait, wait, wait.

• 1:00:14Mark Gagnon?

Goddamn, yo. You say, you say Jay-Z bit off of 50?

• 1:00:19Speaker 04

That's just, look up, look up 50 Cent with Pimp C and Bumpy. Look up what year that was done. A pimp ain't a pimp with no hoes. And then look up Jay-Z, a couple of years later, who did, the same two artists with the same record content. Pimp N, what was it? "Pimp, pimp, pimp, pimp, doo doo na doo". Look it up, you don't know your hip-hop, brother. I'm just saying. They don't even know who Uzi Rapp is.

• 1:00:43Mark Gagnon?

  But they was both hip-hop.

• 1:00:44Speaker 04

No, I know, I know. Not with those nails. Now he just saying shit, now he just saying shit, stop it. Who knows nobody?

• 1:00:52Mark Gagnon?

He said not with those nails.

• 1:00:53Speaker 04

So, look, he's the type of nigga, we gonna hate on the Beastie Boys too?

• 1:00:56Mark Gagnon?

  Oh, come on.

• 1:00:57Speaker 04

Like, who was he fucking with? There's no Beastie Boys, dude. I can't win. Do, act like you're a nigga, nigga.

• 1:01:03Speaker 06

  "Sleep till Brooklyn".

• 1:01:06Speaker 04

Hate on white boy rappers. Hold on, hold on, before they go into that. Let's say in my list of dope white boy rappers, Third Base. Go to Third Base, them niggas, let's not act like they wasn't nice. I was a fan of them. Beastie Boys, was a fan of them. And Paul Wall.

• 1:01:23Mark Gagnon?

  Yes.

• 1:01:23Speaker 04

Look, Paul Wall, a fan of them. Bubba Sparks. Bubba Sparks, now listen. Ask him, boy. Now, this is what I wanna say, and I know he's, look.

• 1:01:31Mark Gagnon?

  He's good.

• 1:01:32Speaker 04

Are you a racist nigga? Exactly, that's what he tried to do.

• 1:01:36Speaker 04

He's one of the Beastie Boys, probably.

• 1:01:42Speaker 04

  Listen to Tyler, probably.

• 1:01:46Speaker 04

He's a dope rapper, come on. He's a dope rapper. Bro, I got a guy. Yo, I can't fuck with this nigga. I can't fuck with this. Mac Miller, R and P, man. Now, let's keep it real. Vanilla Ice went diamond. Yes, thank you. Just not act like you wasn't rocking the Ice Ice Baby. It still had that nigga hanging over the back. Yeah, but it's real. We like, we love Vanilla Ice. How many movies was Vanilla Ice song in Ice Ice Baby? He still getting checks, my nigga. So you think the wrong way. You like, yo, this nigga's nice. You want the nigga in the basement. We want the- And I got front, Jack Harlow be rapping his ass off too, poor. Jack Harlow can rap like a motherfucker, man. Vanilla Ice sold eleven million. Let's see how many records Vanilla Ice sold?

• 1:02:29Speaker 04

Over seven million copies in the US. Twenty-five million globally. Wow.

• 1:02:35Speaker 03

  Damn, Al.

• 1:02:37Speaker 04

Now, what artist? You want the bum, you want the peep, I'm black. You want that artist. I want that artist right there to make money. Cause that's what it's about. So you want Vanilla Ice's career? I like Vanilla Ice. I don't like Vanilla Ice. One song? That song sold more than this whole album. But you don't want eleven number one albums off of a whole career? Is it Vanilla Ice or Jay-Z? Definitely.

• 1:02:58Speaker 03

  That's not the convo.

• 1:02:59Speaker 04

That's not the convo. The convo is white boys emotion. He saying, look, cause we saying, and he saying I hate on Jay. I said Jay has eleven to twelve platinum albums, which is success. Big, I say he's the, I never hate on him. I just say he do business differently. We might not get a Jay-Z interview, but you say that. Right, so look. Ever. I'm gonna get a fifty cent. He ain't getting, he ain't getting either. He'll give Andrew some. Fifty would've seen him with the nails, like, yo, what the fuck this nigga doing out here? Fuck out of here.

• 1:03:27Speaker 04

But what was, but what was, what was the beef? Or what was the call? So the beef is, I said fifty sold eleven million records on one album. That's like a, only like certain artists like DMX, Nelly. Like, niggas will say, oh, Vanilla Ice, this is only like a certain number of people that sell those kind of records, bro. That's, what's the girl's name? I don't care if it's Vanilla Ice. He sold, if, if, back in the day, whoever was on tour was happy as hell. That's Taylor Swift, that's Taylor Swift. That's Taylor Swift. Yeah, Taylor Swift. It's different numbers. Who is Travis Kelce's girl?

• 1:03:59Speaker 03

  I couldn't remember Travis Kelce's girl. Travis Kelsey's girl. I couldn't remember it.

• 1:04:06Mark Gagnon?

How do you remember Travis Kelsey, bro?

• 1:04:09Speaker 03

  Travis Kelsey, man.

• 1:04:11Speaker 04

Well, come on, you don't know. I'm tired of like people.

• 1:04:13Mark Gagnon?

No, so you got mad because I said I would prefer Jay-Z's career over 50's career.

• 1:04:16Speaker 04

No, I'm not mad at you. That's your opinion. I just said I would prefer 50's career over Jay-Z's. It's cool.

• 1:04:22Mark Gagnon?

  Yeah, but they both great.

• 1:04:25Speaker 03

What about Travis Scott's career over Jay-Z's career?

• 1:04:28Speaker 04

Travis Scott is another one too. He sells out shows. He's big worldwide.

• 1:04:32Speaker 03

  He's big worldwide.

• 1:04:34Speaker 04

Jay, I'm not saying Jay is not big, but 50, Travis, there's other dudes that are bigger overseas than him.

• 1:04:40Speaker 03

I don't know. I don't know. I don't know if Jay could sell the tickets with Travis Scott.

• 1:04:43Mark Gagnon?

Yeah, but people put Jay in that GOAT conversation. Even though Travis sells more, nobody puts him in like the lyricist GOAT best rapper.

• 1:04:53Speaker 04

It doesn't matter. He can get a Live Nation tour.

• 1:04:54Speaker 06

I don't think people look at Travis like a real rapper rapper. I think he knows the entertainment.

• 1:04:57Mark Gagnon?

Yeah, so that's what I'm saying. If you ask me which.

• 1:04:59Speaker 06

And I don't think people looking at, people don't look to Travis Scott like I'm looking for bars from Travis Scott.

• 1:05:04Mark Gagnon?

So I would want Jay-Z's career because I want to be honored for, hey, I'm the nicest nigga.

• 1:05:08Speaker 04

I would want 50's career because he just did 103 shows 20 years later for Live Nation. And you know, niggas be talking like 200, 300 M's conversations just like Jay.

• 1:05:20Mark Gagnon?

  Nah, I get that.

• 1:05:21Speaker 04

And you gotta remember, Jay came out before 50.

• 1:05:23Mark Gagnon?

  Home collecting checks.

• 1:05:24Speaker 03

So is 50. What do you think he's doing?

• 1:05:26Speaker 06

  50's doing the same.

• 1:05:27Mark Gagnon?

No, I know they both, they both doing that, but I'm just saying.

• 1:05:29Speaker 04

He just don't like 50 like Jay-Z and it's cool.

• 1:05:31Speaker 06

  Okay.

• 1:05:32Speaker 04

You're just a Jay-Z. You're from Queens, but you're reverse. You like Jay-Z and Fat. You got blue nails. Far Rockin'.

• 1:05:41Speaker 03

  Get your man.

• 1:05:42Speaker 04

We have a problem. Y'all say Houston, we got a problem. Far Rockin', we got a problem. I'm Queens all day. That's it, man. We got the best rappers.

• 1:05:49Speaker 03

  You haven't mentioned Nas.

• 1:05:51Mark Gagnon?

  We got from Queens.

• 1:05:51Speaker 04

  Of course, Nas. Yo, listen.

• 1:05:54Speaker 06

Nas, I remind him a biggie. Salute to Nas. That's my guy. He wrote that shit on Twitter. That's my guy right there.

• 1:06:00Speaker 04

Did Nas say Queens niggas always run you niggas?

• 1:06:04Speaker 03

  Ask Russell Simmons.

• 1:06:06Mark Gagnon?

  There you go.

• 1:06:07Speaker 06

What are you talking about, man?

• 1:06:08Speaker 03

  That's from ether, right?

• 1:06:09Speaker 04

  Why are we asking?

• 1:06:11Mark Gagnon?

Are we really asking Russell Simmons?

• 1:06:15Speaker 04

Me from the Bronx, all the bitches work for Queens, or Queens change. LL, Run DMC, we started the game! Al, why don't you rap Queens, man? He don't know nothing about Queens. Why don't you rap it? Listen, you know, we don't know.

• 1:06:29Mark Gagnon?

I rap New York all day, oh my god.

• 1:06:32Speaker 04

You gotta understand, the biggest rap group in the world, I'm always gonna say, is Run DMC. Yeah, Queens.

• 1:06:37Speaker 06

Shout out to my god rap, Run.

• 1:06:39Speaker 04

Now, what's the song that they had with the rock group back in the days? Bring that back. Aerosmith. Can you pull that up? So we can do our hip hop knowledge, and it starts from Queens.

• 1:06:47Speaker 03

  Yeah, teach him something.

• 1:06:48Speaker 04

I'ma teach him, if you don't know nothing. We got Blingery Nails. Yeah, yeah. Right? Aerosmith, what was the name of the song again?

• 1:06:55Speaker 03

  Walk This Way.

• 1:06:56Speaker 04

Walk This Way. Wasn't this the first song on MTV from a black group, hip hop group? Oh, really? Yes, let's look up Joey, that's what Joey's there for.

• 1:07:07Speaker 06

  Was it, was that?

• 1:07:08Speaker 04

Was it the first rap group to commercialize hip hop? Came from Queens, shout out to Run DMC, rest in peace Jim Master J. Motherfuckers don't know their hip hop. So, you know, we could say Bronx started it, but who commercialized it was Queens.

• 1:07:24Speaker 03

  Russell commercialized it, for sure.

• 1:07:25Speaker 04

Know what I'm saying? Now, do you find anything, Joey, about MTV or something like that?

• 1:07:30Speaker 03

Yeah, first feature on MTV was Run DMC for Rock Box, but it was Run DMC.

• 1:07:34Speaker 04

Why can't we celebrate everybody? Remember that Christmas album?

• 1:07:38Speaker 06

  Why we can't celebrate what?

• 1:07:39Speaker 04

Everybody, this is why, this is why G-Unit has so much problems. Yo, listen! No, no, no, no!

• 1:07:48Speaker 06

He told me that 57, he started a lot of shit. He said a lot of shit was because of this nigga. He said a lot of shit is because of this nigga right here.

• 1:07:54Speaker 04

See, this is why hip hop is fucked up. His name is Uncle Murder, he's talking about starting.

• 1:08:01Speaker 04

We can't even have a business meeting, we gotta change into Lenny Grant. Listening to him? Listen to me. Hip hop has always been what? Competition.

• 1:08:11Speaker 03

  Yes.

• 1:08:11Speaker 04

Right? We might say, oh y'all. We can't even have a business. Listen, the fuck?

• 1:08:19Speaker 04

Listen, listen, every rap battle in the world, we ate up. You was, don't keep it real, hip hop wasn't born to Kendrick and Drake, you loved it. You're a hip hop guy, right? You got your glasses. Right? It was a, when it, look, right?

• 1:08:38Speaker 04

Claim it on the press. Claim it on the press.

• 1:08:41Speaker 06

Shout out to the press, you gang.

• 1:08:45Speaker 04

So look, when KRS won, right? Yeah. And that's, that's like, that's one of me and 50's favorite rappers, KRS1. Yeah, of course. My top five from back in the days. Yeah. I'mma put Big Daddy Kane, Eric B and Rakim.

• 1:08:56Speaker 06

  Where Big Daddy Kane from?

• 1:08:58Speaker 04

But he was signed to a Queens.

• 1:08:58Speaker 06

I asked you a fucking question. Where's Big Daddy Kane from?

• 1:09:01Speaker 04

He was signed to a Queens.

• 1:09:01Speaker 06

I was gonna ask you a question. Where's Big Daddy?

• 1:09:03Speaker 04

He was signed to a Queens, nigga.

• 1:09:04Speaker 06

And where did Big Daddy Kane from?

• 1:09:05Speaker 04

He was signed to a Queens, nigga.

• 1:09:06Speaker 06

This nigga don't wanna answer the fucking question.

• 1:09:07Speaker 04

He was signed to a Queens, nigga.

• 1:09:08Speaker 06

  Where's Big Daddy Kane from?

• 1:09:09Speaker 04

He was signed to a Queens, nigga. From Brooklyn.

• 1:09:11Speaker 06

  Thank you.

• 1:09:12Speaker 04

And who is he signed to? Marley Ball.

• 1:09:13Speaker 06

Brooklyn, go ahead. Finish up, go ahead, finish your top five.

• 1:09:16Speaker 04

  So look, my top five.

• 1:09:17Speaker 06

  Big Daddy Kane.

• 1:09:18Speaker 04

  Big Daddy Kane, Brooklyn.

• 1:09:24Speaker 04

Big Daddy Kane, Eric B and Rakim. Biggie, obviously. No, no, I'm talking about, see, when we start hip-hop, we gotta start from the 80's. Got it. To the 90's. Got it, got it, got it, got it, got it. So we gotta go, we gotta go to Big Daddy Kane. Rakim. Rak, Rakim. Um, we gotta put KRS1 in there.

• 1:09:41Speaker 06

  Coogee Rap, let's go Queens.

• 1:09:43Speaker 04

I would put Coogee Rap. What about EPMD? I think I would put, but that's a group. We can go to groups.

• 1:09:47Speaker 06

EPMD was popping, so I'm not gonna front.

• 1:09:49Speaker 04

I'mma keep it real, I know Fifth got a little beef with him, but I'mma put LL has to be like before Coogee Rap.

• 1:09:53Speaker 06

Your Fifth, that's this nigga, go ahead.

• 1:09:55Speaker 04

Nah, you gotta think LL had. No, LL was a superstar.

• 1:09:58Speaker 06

Of course, nah, nah, of course, nah. I was on one of LL albums. I told you, it was all good. I was on one of LL albums.

• 1:10:03Speaker 04

You gotta put LL there. And then, I, I, top five, I gotta put Slick Rick over, um, Coogee Rap, sorry. I love Coogee Rap. He's in my top 10.

• 1:10:12Speaker 06

Slick Rick was that dude. I'm not gonna lie. He made me wanna write stories in my rap.

• 1:10:16Speaker 04

That's why I always say top 10, cuz I would go, I would go Dougie Fresh, Coogee Rap, you know what I mean?

• 1:10:21Speaker 06

I never looked at Dougie Fresh as a rapper. He was the more the.

• 1:10:23Speaker 04

Buggin', but he still, more, he had hits.

• 1:10:25Speaker 06

But I know, I, I never looked at him like the rapper. No, of course, but I still, he was like more of an entertainer than a rapper like that. Like, how I looked at it.

• 1:10:32Speaker 04

  He was lit back then.

• 1:10:33Speaker 06

Of course, he was that dude. He was dealing like a, a puff back then.

• 1:10:36Speaker 04

So what we had seven? Cuz I said, cuz we said, what we said? Big Daddy Kane. Rakim. Rakim, who was? Slick Rick. We said Coogee. I would have to put LL right there.

• 1:10:45Speaker 03

  And LL.

• 1:10:45Speaker 04

I go LL, Slick Week 5.

• 1:10:47Speaker 03

All right, what about our generation? The people that we started watching growing up? So we're talking about 90s, 2000s.

• 1:10:55Speaker 06

Talking about the Biggies and the Jay-Zs, the Nas, shit like that, yeah?

• 1:10:59Speaker 04

  Nas, DMX.

• 1:10:59Speaker 03

The peak of New York hip hop.

• 1:11:01Speaker 06

DMX, Mob D, shit like that.

• 1:11:03Speaker 04

Oh, Mob D, yeah, yeah. Definitely, of course.

• 1:11:05Speaker 06

  Mmm, they was coming.

• 1:11:07Speaker 04

But Jay, you gotta put Jay, you gotta put Jay there, you gotta put Biggie. You gotta put, and that's another thing, what should be different if Biggie was alive?

• 1:11:20Speaker 06

  Of course.

• 1:11:20Speaker 04

It would be, it would be.

• 1:11:22Speaker 06

  Of course.

• 1:11:22Speaker 04

Because Biggie, to me, was like, he was just the epitome of a rapper.

• 1:11:26Speaker 03

  Yeah.

• 1:11:26Speaker 04

Because he was fat and like, he'll say, I'm a fat black nigga with the.

• 1:11:31Speaker 06

Ugly as ever, however, I stay guky down to the socks.

• 1:11:34Speaker 04

And he was just was fly, so like, the first fat dude we really seen get fly, I would say is probably, the Fat Boys wasn't fly, they was cool.

• 1:11:41Speaker 06

You gotta get that to Heavy D though.

• 1:11:42Speaker 04

  Heavy D.

• 1:11:43Speaker 06

Heavy D was the first fly, yeah, I give Heavy D that, thanks.

• 1:11:46Speaker 04

Heavy D was like the first fat fly nigga.

• 1:11:48Speaker 03

  Yeah.

• 1:11:49Speaker 04

The Fat Boys, you know, they was fat. Yeah, they were, the Fat Boys, they was just the most commercialized.

• 1:11:55Speaker 03

When you, when you were coming up and you were like in the streets, were you also going, I'm gonna be a rapper one day? Like, was that aspirational or did those things just kind of converge?

• 1:12:04Speaker 04

I'm from Queens, so the music was always aspirational, they had like the backyard parties, like, my man, my man Bobby, he was across the street, so remember when the boombox came out?

• 1:12:13Speaker 03

  Yeah.

• 1:12:13Speaker 04

Like, my parents, they didn't give us no batteries, we couldn't walk around, we had to plug our shit up. And I remember me and my brother listening to Run DMC and we had to double take shit, but we had to plug it up on the porch, my man had the batteries, then he had the equalizer, shit was way better. That's what it was, like playing tapes, like I remember when the Run DMC tape came, play your tape till the tape pop. You know, it was like crazy, boomboxes back in the days, Dookie Link trains. So it really came from us watching the drug dealers and back then the drug dealers kind of made the style and the fashion for the rappers. You know what I'm saying?

• 1:12:44Speaker 03

So the rappers were emulating the drug dealers, some of the rappers were drug. Dealers.

• 1:12:48Speaker 04

  Definitely.

• 1:12:48Speaker 03

They kind of make it out of the game.

• 1:12:49Speaker 04

You gotta think with Jim Master J, when he started the Adidas with no laces, that came from jail.

• 1:12:53Speaker 03

Right, because you couldn't put the laces in.

• 1:12:56Speaker 04

So that's when back in the days when they was wearing Adidas, they was wearing Adidas with no laces. That was a jail thing.

• 1:13:01Speaker 03

  Right.

• 1:13:01Speaker 04

You know what I'm saying? You gotta think Adidas, that shit blew up. Hip hop brings a lot of fashion to the forefront.

• 1:13:07Speaker 03

  Yeah.

• 1:13:08Speaker 04

And now we finally getting our just do, when you see ASAP Rocky doing Gucci ads.

• 1:13:11Speaker 03

  Yeah, yeah.

• 1:13:12Speaker 04

Or seeing Pharrell, shout to Pharrell doing the Louis. Or seeing what Virgil did.

• 1:13:17Speaker 06

What Virgil was doing, God bless.

• 1:13:17Speaker 04

Because looking Dapadin back in the days when he was making the dope jackets for Alpo and everybody that. People are kind of immolating now.

• 1:13:24Speaker 03

  Mm-hmm.

• 1:13:24Speaker 04

So it's like hip hop, we didn't know about Cool G's too.

• 1:13:27Speaker 03

But like in your head, when you're in the streets still, are you still in the streets while you're rapping a bit? Like when you connect with Fifth initially.

• 1:13:34Speaker 04

  Mm-hmm.

• 1:13:34Speaker 03

Are you guys connecting on street shit first, or were you doing your own street shit and then?

• 1:13:38Speaker 04

Um, the connection was wild, it's because like, we was rapping and we was, we had.

• 1:13:44Speaker 03

So you guys knew each other from music first?

• 1:13:45Speaker 04

No, I knew Fifty from being on the block.

• 1:13:47Speaker 03

  From the neighborhood.

• 1:13:48Speaker 04

Yeah, from being in the neighborhood, just being, rapping was just like more of a hobby.

• 1:13:51Speaker 03

  Mm-hmm.

• 1:13:51Speaker 04

So like our favorite DJs, like we used to, the first people to blow from our neighborhood was Lost Boys, Rest In Peace Freaky Top.

• 1:13:57Speaker 03

  Yeah, yeah, yeah.

• 1:13:57Speaker 04

We from 134 on God Brewer, they just put a mural over it.

• 1:14:00Speaker 06

That was the first feature I ever did, Mr. Cheeks, man, seven hundred dollars.

• 1:14:03Speaker 03

  Wow, that's fire.

• 1:14:04Speaker 04

  Wow, that's crazy, man.

• 1:14:05Speaker 06

That was my first feature I ever paid for, only feature I ever paid for.

• 1:14:10Speaker 04

If you let me talk, motherfucker, I'll go back and talk to you.

• 1:14:14Speaker 04

I'm sorry, man. Hate this picture, look.

• 1:14:18Speaker 04

So, so in the hood, back in the days, we had DJs like Grandmaster Vic, that's when my man Rough Hands, he was a DJ, Rest In Peace. So we used to, he was a DJ, so we used to go to Jamaica Avenue, that's the good days, no computer. Party get shot up, all the parties get shot up, you gotta take eight crates.

• 1:14:31Speaker 06

The good days, right, parties get shot up.

• 1:14:33Speaker 04

Yeah, the parties get shot up. Good old house party, get shot up.

• 1:14:38Speaker 03

That was the expectation, that the party would get shot up.

• 1:14:42Speaker 04

Imagine, imagine you being a DJ, right? Look, imagine being a DJ and holding the whole party, you know, in the hood, that's what we grew up on. You were a queen, shit get shot up, no computer, we gotta take eight crates now.

• 1:14:53Speaker 06

Tearing him out to the car.

• 1:14:55Speaker 04

My man, you know, if the shit get shot up, he gotta get his crates no matter what, that's the experience we had growing up in hip hop. So my man Basement, you know, we all sold drugs, when it get hot, we go to his crib, we all was fucking in mischief. But we was good drug dealers, we, you know, help ladies across the street and shit like that.

• 1:15:11Speaker 06

Well, dealers. You know what I mean? Help the community.

• 1:15:15Speaker 04

  Giving people credit.

• 1:15:16Speaker 06

That's right. That's right. You only got eight dollars.

• 1:15:22Speaker 04

Buy me a call later. That was a good job.

• 1:15:25Speaker 04

  Know what I'm saying?

• 1:15:25Speaker 06

A Christmas deal. That's why my man got his blessings now.

• 1:15:29Speaker 04

So I got my blessings, man. I was a nice guy, helped old ladies across the street, you know what I'm saying? So, we go to my man's crib, and he had the equipment, we go down there. Fifty would be rapping, motherfuckers be rapping. But Freaky Ty, Lost Boys blew up. So you know, everybody from our hood, "Oh, oh, oh." It was Lost Boys, "Oh, oh," everywhere we go. We was still selling drugs.

• 1:15:49Speaker 04

You know, then shout to J-Ball, that's his brother, shout to J-Ball, rest in peace Ty. I mean, his son rap now, Little Ty. "Ho, ho, ho," so everybody was... Now that was their dance, Freaky Ty, "Ho, ho." Everybody was fanned out, but we was still like drug dealers. So we was looking at it like, "Oh shit, they taking off and shit." So Fifth, you know, he was, he was like a drug dealer, sixteen, seventeen. Fifth was like sixteen, had benders. So he was the man, and it wasn't like he's a clown, niggas knew him. He was sixteen with a band, seventeen.

• 1:16:18Speaker 06

  Yeah.

• 1:16:19Speaker 04

Know what I'm saying, coming through. So he looking, "Mm, selling my drugs, fuck everybody." So he'll come through on his bully shit, because Fifty was always a troublemaker on the block. Niggas be like, "Yo, here, this nigga coming over, here you go, start." Like Fifty say, "I'm crazy," but he's crazy.

• 1:16:31Speaker 06

  Yeah.

• 1:16:32Speaker 04

But he was a marketing genius.

• 1:16:33Speaker 06

  Yeah.

• 1:16:34Speaker 04

I'll give you an example. Back in the days, we had thirty-one bunnies, right?

• 1:16:38Speaker 06

  What's that?

• 1:16:38Speaker 04

It's the size of a capsule, right? So Fifty...

• 1:16:41Speaker 06

Capsules that you put the crack in for the, um, people that don't understand, that's why it's...

• 1:16:45Speaker 04

So look, Fifty's gonna be mad at so you... I'll argue him on a chat later. He'll be mad at so you.

• 1:16:52Speaker 04

But this is why I say he was always a marketing genius. I don't know what Jay-Z did, I disrespect. But Fifty was a marketing genius. So what he did, we had thirty-one bunnies about this size, horse, know what I'm saying? And then, what he did was... No, just pause everything.

• 1:17:14Speaker 04

So, what 50 did was, he called up his Brooklyn guys, because you know we always hire Brooklyn guys.

• 1:17:18Speaker 06

  Shut the fuck up, nigga.

• 1:17:19Speaker 04

Queens guys had the money, we hired the Brooklyn guys.

• 1:17:22Speaker 06

They don't, they don't hire no Brooklyn guy.

• 1:17:23Speaker 04

  Rusty guns.

• 1:17:24Speaker 06

  Brooklyn niggas know what's up.

• 1:17:25Speaker 04

No, no, you know, you know what I'm saying.

• 1:17:27Speaker 06

Fifth came to get the official Brooklyn niggas to put that pain in.

• 1:17:30Speaker 04

They got the rusty guns and stuff, so they got the rusty guns, they crazy. These guys, you know, his Brooklyn guys temperament, you know what I mean, was a little more wild.

• 1:17:36Speaker 06

Nah, we on go, we on go time.

• 1:17:38Speaker 04

Queens is like a Harlem, like Queens and Harlem are similar.

• 1:17:40Speaker 06

I always tell 50 like a Brooklyn nigga.

• 1:17:42Speaker 04

Look, listen, but look, this is what you gotta understand, Queens and Harlem is the same, get money, get fresh. The Bronx and Brooklyn to me was always shoot you up, well, this nigga, oh Bronx niggas in the, Brooklyn niggas in the building, where, where, where? Niggas are looking like where?

• 1:17:59Speaker 04

Always the DJ would mess up the party. Exactly.

• 1:18:01Speaker 06

I get you that, I get you that.

• 1:18:03Speaker 04

That's how it was back in the days, that's what I'm trying to tell him. So, you know, 50 had his Brooklyn niggas, and they was real, you know why? Because Queens niggas was bougie, they would get on the train, hold 50 down, they would come, we'd be on, we'd be on tour, niggas all chilling in one room, because they from the projects. So their shit was like, they all be in one room, know what I'm saying? They was called 551 back then, his man Ja passed away. So I went on tour with them, and it was a camaraderie. But when they argue, yo, I crippled somebody, I shot him in the back, their arguments was crazy.

• 1:18:30Speaker 06

Sound like a Brooklyn argument. We like arguing about who caught the most, um, who did the most shootings and stuff like that, who shot the most people.

• 1:18:37Speaker 04

Yo, they had a shootout at the end of the tour, and they was friends, that's how Brooklyn niggas.

• 1:18:43Speaker 04

Queens guys not like that, bro. You know, Brooklyn brothers had shootouts, man, it was crazy.

• 1:18:50Speaker 04

Hold on. They were friends that shot at each other and then spotted. After we came from tour, they was on tour, this is Hot Row. Okay. Came off tour, they was from Brooklyn, 50 had them Brooklyn niggas, they get on the train, you know what I mean? These are the guys got kicked out, studio Beyonce, we was working on Beyonce early. That's good.

• 1:19:10Speaker 04

We had, we had worked with Destiny's Child too, but it was, I think before Jay-Z?

• 1:19:14Speaker 03

  Yes. I mean, I got a feature.

• 1:19:16Speaker 06

He definitely didn't get no Jay-Z.

• 1:19:19Speaker 04

The same, we was in the studio with her earlier, we was in the studio. We got kicked out. So these guys, they didn't care, they bring their rusty guns, she was crazy. Rusty 38s, 357s, scars on their face, one dude named his face, looked like Frankenstein, had a scar on his face. Guys wake up for breakfast with guns, like, these guys are crazy.

• 1:19:36Speaker 04

We went on tour with them with Hotter Road. This is before 50 had shot, we had records with Beyonce and all, I've been around since then.

• 1:19:42Speaker 06

That Power of the Dollar album.

• 1:19:44Speaker 04

  Always been something aggressive.

• 1:19:45Speaker 03

  Yeah.

• 1:19:46Speaker 04

When you look at the history of hip-hop, see, he doesn't know, cause, you know.

• 1:19:49Speaker 06

  Come on, though.

• 1:19:49Speaker 04

The Glitter Nails would never rock.

• 1:19:51Speaker 06

My God, no Glitter Nails know something about it.

• 1:19:53Speaker 04

No, but what I'm saying, back in the days where like, um, fucking, um, Patient Jack and Scooter and Tottenham, like, that would never rock around.

• 1:20:01Speaker 06

  No, facts, facts.

• 1:20:01Speaker 03

Times have changed. Times have changed. So you're saying at the end of the tour, the guy, the Brooklyn dude?

• 1:20:05Speaker 04

Oh, yeah, they had a shootout, they shot, one guy spent too much money on hoes or whatever, you know, Miami, they was selling that shit or whatever, whatever he, he went to Miami, he was the only nigga getting pussy. I was like, how you getting pussy, man? And he was like, he's buying that, he spent all the bread. This is back in the day, he spent all the bread, his man shot him up.

• 1:20:22Speaker 03

  And did he live?

• 1:20:24Speaker 04

Yeah, he just got shot the fuck up, came from limping, yo, son shot me, told 50, he was just crazy.

• 1:20:28Speaker 03

And then they, they squashed it afterwards?

• 1:20:30Speaker 04

  No.

• 1:20:32Speaker 06

Oh, they didn't squash that one?

• 1:20:33Speaker 04

No, it wasn't squash, one nigga just was shot the fuck up, the other nigga shot the shit out of him.

• 1:20:41Speaker 04

Fuck, you mean they squashed it? It's rare that happens, right, Mark? It's not with Brooklyn niggas.

• 1:20:47Speaker 06

Yeah, that's how, but it happens sometimes.

• 1:20:49Speaker 04

You gotta understand, the norm for people, like, how you wake up in the morning and he brushes his hair.

• 1:20:56Speaker 06

  Yep.

• 1:20:57Speaker 04

Everybody doesn't live that life, there's a real world out there.

• 1:20:59Speaker 03

  Mm-hmm, yeah.

• 1:21:00Speaker 04

What people's going through and the shit, you, you go to Bronx, Harlem, some of these places, the kids really don't want to be there, they're just forced to be there, and they, they have become circumstances, cause what? Cause you just live in that neighborhood, so you, you that gang now. Cause New York has a lot of gangs.

• 1:21:15Speaker 03

  Yeah.

• 1:21:15Speaker 04

  And they don't play.

• 1:21:16Mark Gagnon?

  Yeah.

• 1:21:17Speaker 03

  Yeah.

• 1:21:17Speaker 04

And LA has a lot of gangs.

• 1:21:19Speaker 03

But the gang culture feels different here than in LA.

• 1:21:21Speaker 04

  Nah, it's crazier.

• 1:21:23Speaker 03

Not in terms of one is worse than the other, but the organization over there feels a little different. Like, I don't see the same, like, a color warfare here that it is over there.

• 1:21:32Mark Gagnon?

It's less organized here, I would say.

• 1:21:33Speaker 04

  Nah, I wouldn't see that.

• 1:21:35Speaker 03

  Well, how is it organized?

• 1:21:36Speaker 04

  I would say people-

• 1:21:37Mark Gagnon?

I'm talking about back in the day.

• 1:21:38Speaker 04

No, I'm just saying, I would say people look at gangs different from New York because when you look at the cannabis game, which we open in the dispensary cell, you know what I'm saying, the unit? When you look at the cannabis game- Jericho Park, Jericho Turnway Park. And when you look at the gang, the gang game, it's grandfathered in. So, gang, gangs started in LA, so they gonna always get that respect. In Chicago too, Chicago too. Yeah, Chicago too, but you know LA gets that- Of course. That respect because they started it. But as for gang structure in New York, there's thousands of gangs. Yeah, yeah.

• 1:22:05Mark Gagnon?

But that's the thing, it's like, they have two big gangs and then they have subsects of those two big.

• 1:22:10Speaker 03

  In LA.

• 1:22:10Speaker 04

LA. Oh, nah, there's plenty of it. You got Mexican gangs.

• 1:22:13Speaker 03

No, I mean, but out here it's like-

• 1:22:15Speaker 04

You got Asian gangs out there.

• 1:22:17Mark Gagnon?

So, out here it's like everybody's hood, you just have a clique and then all of a sudden you just make-

• 1:22:20Speaker 04

Nah, you got Blood, you got GD, you got Folk, you got Moon, you got Choke. There's a million. You got fucking Dominican Power, you got Trentario's, nigga.

• 1:22:29Mark Gagnon?

That's the thing, there's so many.

• 1:22:30Speaker 03

Was there concern when you guys were traveling in the early days? Like, before you blow up, you're huge, the early days of traveling, you're going to these other markets. Was there a concern for your safety?

• 1:22:40Speaker 04

There wasn't a concern, cause like I said, I'm not a Glazer. Fifty was a genius. Cause what he said was, "We're never gonna choose a side. We're never gonna turn Blood and never gonna turn Crip." People wanted me to turn Blood when I was on the island, but I was like, "Fuck it, I'm gonna listen to what Fifty say. Never choose a side." So, if we do, "What's up, Blood? What up, cut?", which is one of the biggest-

• 1:22:57Speaker 03

Oh, wow. Oh, you shouting them all out?

• 1:22:58Speaker 04

Yeah, what's one of the biggest records in the world, this guy?

• 1:23:03Speaker 04

See what I'm saying? When you think about that, right? Look, no, no, you do, but you love Jay Moore, and it's cool.

• 1:23:11Speaker 04

  Think about this though.

• 1:23:16Speaker 04

That's like, so now, when we going to LA, the Bloods love us and the Crips love us, cause we not choosing a side. Yeah. Just like Fifty said on his mixtapes, cause our mixtapes was killing niggas' albums back in the days, but- It was, it was. Shout out to Banks. Shout out to Banks, he's on tour now, Fabius Podcast, but we'll get back to that.

• 1:23:32Speaker 03

  Nigga, you podcasting.

• 1:23:34Speaker 04

  So what?

• 1:23:36Speaker 04

I was made for this shit. What are you talking about? I'm a natural motherfucker.

• 1:23:40Speaker 03

  You have been podcasting.

• 1:23:41Speaker 04

Tell, I take over shit when I go places.

• 1:23:45Speaker 04

Shout to Kill Tony. I've been Legend of Skanks too. Legend of Skanks.

• 1:23:48Speaker 03

Shout out to all the podcasters, man.

• 1:23:51Speaker 04

Yo, so look, but no, he don't know Kill Tony's another level.

• 1:23:54Speaker 03

  Oh, it's huge.

• 1:23:55Mark Gagnon?

I like that you're going on both platforms.

• 1:23:57Speaker 04

I'm going to, I'm trying to get to the media world with you and Charlamagne for the picture.

• 1:26:43Speaker 04

You know what's crazy? The rich guys never wear no jewelry. I told him, we was out at dinner one time, and we're with Tillman, the guy who owned Houston Rockets.

• 1:26:50Speaker 06

  He owned about 800 restaurants.

• 1:26:52Speaker 04

He shook me and Thanks Hand, and there was a-

• 1:26:56Speaker 06

There was a big DJ there, too.

• 1:26:57Speaker 04

What's the DJ that came in there? Oh, my God.

• 1:26:59Speaker 06

  Pause.

• 1:27:00Speaker 04

DJ came through there, and he had the littlest chain, and murder, I said murder, don't wear no jewelry.

• 1:27:04Speaker 06

Yeah, but guess what, though? The DJ that I was there, though, a big theater is safe right here. He was like, yo, wow, dude, he was like, wow, do it open? I said, yes, it's open. You got a gun and some money in here.

• 1:27:14Speaker 04

Matter of fact, I think it was DJ Rumpa.

• 1:27:15Speaker 06

This is exotic. You know what I'm saying? You understand?

• 1:27:17Speaker 04

  Listen.

• 1:27:17Speaker 06

Come on, man. This is a bag right here. When you getting that money, you can do this.

• 1:27:21Speaker 04

Yo, look, look. Listen, DJ Rumpa, so I'm looking around.

• 1:27:24Speaker 06

Rumpa, shout out to DJ Rumpa.

• 1:27:26Speaker 04

I think it was DJ Rumpa, man. It might have been DJ Rumpa. Now, he has the littlest chain in the world. Like, he has the littlest chain. This guy gets a million a show. Tillman own 900 restaurants. I'm surprised. 50s, this is the kind of meetings 50s too. Like, niggas was, Jay, Jay, Jay. Nigga, 50s with Tillman, bro. This guy owns Astros.

• 1:27:43Speaker 03

There's a hilarious comedian named Damian Lemon who once said something to me. He goes, uh, he goes, "Sometimes dudes will go broke trying to impress broke dudes." And that could be the jewelry thing, like spending all his money on jewelry to impress people who are impressed by jewelry. But Tilman don't care about jewelry.

• 1:28:03Speaker 04

So I started looking at the billionaires and I'm like, yo, let me see what kind of watch you got, Apple Watch. I'm like, see, see murder, told you don't wear them chains, you look stupid, man.

• 1:28:12Speaker 06

The chains don't look stupid, this is us, this is our culture. This is what we do, this is our culture.

• 1:28:19Speaker 06

You had a big passport chain on you.

• 1:28:20Speaker 04

No, but I had some little shit on me.

• 1:28:22Speaker 06

Ain't my fault you had some little shit on that day. And I had that big token shit on that day. I had that big shit on that day. I came out that motherfucker, I'm a billionaire, nigga.

• 1:28:31Speaker 04

I knew it was gonna be.

• 1:28:32Speaker 06

It was like that day, nigga, don't knock me, cuz I wanted to be like, how about, there you go. Yeah, he wasn't like that that day, so he wasn't telling me to be quiet. No, you left this shit at home.

• 1:28:40Speaker 04

When I get around billionaires, that's around the rappers, the rapper section.

• 1:28:43Speaker 06

Fifty had his shit on too.

• 1:28:44Speaker 04

  That's the rapper section shit.

• 1:28:45Speaker 06

Fifty had his big shit on too.

• 1:28:47Speaker 04

  Did he?

• 1:28:47Speaker 06

Yes, he did. You was the only nigga that didn't have it on.

• 1:28:51Speaker 04

Tilman shook my hand a little different though. Definitely ain't shaking your hand.

• 1:28:58Speaker 04

He had all them caprio on. I done shook his with Leandro caprio. I'd rather have Fifty's than that motherfucker. Leanne, I'm drinking.

• 1:29:09Speaker 04

I got green on that now.

• 1:29:12Speaker 06

  Leonardo.

• 1:29:15Speaker 04

Come on, you doing it, god, you can't bring a little me.

• 1:29:18Speaker 03

Shout out Leardo, bro. Leardo, shout out to you, man.

• 1:29:23Speaker 04

  It's early in the day.

• 1:29:26Speaker 06

That dude got us drinking real early, boy, god damn.

• 1:29:29Speaker 03

Hey, you know what time it is in Barcelona?

• 1:29:31Speaker 04

  What time?

• 1:29:32Speaker 03

  It's late in Barcelona.

• 1:29:33Speaker 04

  Yeah, overseas time.

• 1:29:34Speaker 06

  Like, definitely is.

• 1:29:35Speaker 04

Overseas, we used to. Which a lot of other rappers don't do. Banks is overseas right now, shout out to Banks, he's in Bulgaria. He got like twenty dates.

• 1:29:45Speaker 03

Hold on, now that you guys have traveled around the world, just out of curiosity. Because you guys are traveling around the world.

• 1:29:50Speaker 06

  Yes.

• 1:29:50Speaker 04

I'm the first rapper in the Swiss Alps to do a show.

• 1:29:53Speaker 03

  I believe that.

• 1:29:54Speaker 06

  Oh.

• 1:29:55Speaker 04

And I'm just, yeah, I just work for 50.

• 1:29:57Speaker 06

  Respect.

• 1:30:00Speaker 06

  Shout out to my guy.

• 1:30:02Speaker 03

Now, now, obviously, you're just aware of so much more culture, so many more experiences.

• 1:30:06Speaker 04

  Of course, because.

• 1:30:07Speaker 03

Of the two of you, who would you say is the more culturally refined now because you're international?

• 1:30:12Speaker 04

He already knows. He could, he know that's me. He knows. He know I do that. He knows that's me.

• 1:30:17Speaker 06

  God damn.

• 1:30:18Speaker 04

I taught him about salad fork in class and shit like.

• 1:30:23Speaker 04

Like, he's the nigga that we go in the restaurant, I'm trying to tell him.

• 1:30:26Speaker 06

Let me tell you something about this guy.

• 1:30:27Speaker 04

  Let me tell you something.

• 1:30:28Speaker 06

Let him talk. He's been talking about an hour and a half, I bet. Let me tell you something about this guy.

• 1:30:34Speaker 04

My nigga, my nigga, my nigga.

• 1:30:35Speaker 06

  He's like.

• 1:30:36Speaker 04

Yo, calm down. You smell like weed and you saying nigga.

• 1:30:41Speaker 06

Let me tell you something about this guy. He talk all this food shit, right? He's a fast food guy overseas, you hear me? No. I'm the guy that like five star. I'm the guy that look for steakhouse.

• 1:30:50Speaker 04

  I don't eat caviar pancakes.

• 1:30:51Speaker 06

All this guy be looking for is McDonald's spots, Burger King, shit like that. I'm a steakhouse guy. He wants to eat Burger King.

• 1:30:58Speaker 04

  No, overseas.

• 1:30:59Speaker 06

  McDonald's.

• 1:30:59Speaker 04

Hold on, he not letting me talk. Look, now he's lying to you.

• 1:31:03Speaker 06

I'm the steakhouse guy. I need a steakhouse.

• 1:31:06Speaker 04

• 1:31:50Speaker 04

But can I break it down to you?

• 1:31:52Speaker 06

• 1:31:52Speaker 04

Listen, I eat caviar pancakes and smoked up, but you gotta understand. Look, you gotta understand, look, when you get KFC overseas, that shit is not artificial. Because let's tell the truth.

• 1:32:03Speaker 06

• 1:32:25Speaker 03

  Go on.

• 1:32:26Speaker 04

Number one overseas, there's no food coloring, right? So anything you get, there's no food coloring. So they don't have no Frosted Flakes, Fruit Loops. You gotta go to exotic, exotic store to buy that. They don't have that. Really, they don't have it. They don't have none of the candy with all the, with all the shit in there.

• 1:32:41Speaker 03

You gotta go to exotic store.

• 1:32:43Speaker 04

  To get that shit, right?

• 1:32:44Speaker 06

  Black market.

• 1:32:45Speaker 04

So now look, when you go, look, when you go to Subway, they have, they have the, um, diet mayo. They have the mayo, diet mayo only. When you go to, um, KFC, it's natural chicken, it ain't no artificial shit, it's real chicken.

• 1:33:00Speaker 03

  I was in Barcelona.

• 1:33:00Speaker 04

When you go to McDonald's, the McRoyale, remember McRoyale coffee shop, McRoyale, all that shit? That shit here is fresh shit, it's not like it's artificial.

• 1:33:09Speaker 03

  That's true.

• 1:33:09Speaker 04

  It's, it's a big difference.

• 1:33:11Speaker 06

  It do hit different.

• 1:33:11Speaker 04

When I eat fast food over there.

• 1:33:13Speaker 03

But you're also saying your culture is fine, you're saying you were teaching about the salad fork, like what?

• 1:33:18Speaker 06

He did, he did put me on for that.

• 1:33:19Speaker 03

I don't know, I didn't know how to use coloring until the Titanic.

• 1:33:22Speaker 04

Look, I'm like telling like Murda, see this fork is for the salad fork. Cause Murda's the type of nigga we be in the Monty Hotel, my nigga yo, oh my nigga, my nigga. I hate when people do that around white folks, like this shit up.

• 1:33:35Speaker 06

He is crazy, you see me?

• 1:33:37Speaker 04

No, but I'm just, you know what I'm saying? Like, oh, if I'm in a restaurant with you, you don't look like the type of nigga that's gonna be saying, my nigga,

• 1:33:43Speaker 03

  Exactly.

• 1:33:44Speaker 04

too much, like, him being to the pretty way.

• 1:33:46Speaker 06

I do it on purpose that way.

• 1:33:47Speaker 04

Look, him being to the pretty way.

• 1:33:48Speaker 06

He get so nervous, I, I know when I start going, yo, my nigga, he be like, I see him, I see him start moving like, yo.

• 1:33:53Speaker 04

Next day we come to the restaurant, send them niggas in the back.

• 1:33:57Speaker 04

  That's what happens.

• 1:33:58Speaker 03

  I feel that.

• 1:33:58Speaker 04

We in the Monty Hotel, my nigga, my nigga, my nigga, bad enough. We smell like an ounce of bud. My nigga, my nigga, my nigga, my nigga, yo, my nigga, yo chill, my nigga. Yo, just chill, nigga. White people looking at shit, they nervous as hell. We the only black people in the hotel. My nigga, my nigga. And this nigga right here smoking front of the White House, he don't care. Uh, my nigga, my nigga. We be having bets, white, white people gonna get on the elevator with us overseas.

• 1:34:25Speaker 06

That's the funniest shit. One time this little, one time this little, this little white kid, he went in the, um, the elevator with us, and sister was like, no.

• 1:34:35Speaker 04

He was like, she not even was like, sis, what is it? What are you doing? She got in the elevator because she didn't see color. She was afraid. She's like, no. I wouldn't get in the elevator with us either.

• 1:34:46Speaker 06

I probably wouldn't go in with us neither. I'm not gonna lie. I wouldn't have gone in with us neither, so I wasn't even mad at them.

• 1:34:53Speaker 04

All they know is 50, they don't know us. They don't know us 50. You said I'm not black no more. That was OJ. OJ said I'm not black. All they know is 50 out there, they just know 50. You were 50, everything, oh, you good. They don't care. You can smoke in the elevator, nigga.

• 1:35:07Speaker 03

Is there ever a time, is there a time where you're traveling and there was just a custom or something that you just did not understand? You were like, what? Like, you ever go to a sauna and, like, everybody's naked? Or, like, was there ever a cultural exchange where you're like, what the fuck is this about?

• 1:35:21Speaker 04

Nah, never, never really. I heard, I heard something about a Turkish bath and an old man washing you, but I ain't with that. Somebody said, like a Turkish bath, I ain't with that.

• 1:35:32Speaker 03

They hit you with, like, the branches.

• 1:35:34Speaker 04

Yeah, I'm not with all that.

• 1:35:35Speaker 06

Aw, man, that's what they do.

• 1:35:36Speaker 04

But that's the best thing is traveling. I've been everywhere, way to Morocco.

• 1:35:39Speaker 06

  I love traveling.

• 1:35:39Speaker 04

Been to Canary Islands, Black Sand. See, Jay-Z don't do shit like that.

• 1:35:45Speaker 04

I'm just saying, his artist never did that. He never.

• 1:35:47Speaker 06

  Right.

• 1:35:47Speaker 04

This guy was there on Jay-Z, nothing.

• 1:35:48Speaker 03

Do you want people from Roc Nation on your pod or not? Because you're not gonna get nobody.

• 1:35:52Speaker 04

Roc Nation ain't fucking with me, man. Just like how you don't fuck with me.

• 1:35:57Speaker 03

I fuck with you. You think I don't fuck with you?

• 1:35:59Speaker 04

You don't fuck with Lloyd Banks, you don't fuck with 50. How you fuck with me?

• 1:36:01Speaker 03

  How?

• 1:36:01Speaker 04

  Yo, I fuck with 50.

• 1:36:04Speaker 03

We have 50 on the pod.

• 1:36:06Speaker 04

She said, I'd rather have Jay-Z career than 50's.

• 1:36:08Speaker 06

  Yeah, come on, bro.

• 1:36:09Speaker 03

  Nah, that's crazy.

• 1:36:10Speaker 04

Put it down, nigga, in the comments.

• 1:36:12Speaker 06

But you gotta realize this, look.

• 1:36:13Speaker 04

I'd rather, I think fam is better than bands.

• 1:36:15Speaker 06

They're gonna call him, right? Andrew, right? This nigga gonna be fired in two weeks. But you got to realize, it's like, it's connected, right?

• 1:36:24Speaker 04

  In the nail suit, Joe.

• 1:36:25Speaker 06

Yeah, nigga, I ain't here, man.

• 1:36:27Speaker 04

If you want me back on the show, that's fine.

• 1:36:31Speaker 03

That's true. I love Lloyd Banks.

• 1:36:32Speaker 04

  I'll fuck with you though.

• 1:36:35Speaker 06

That's how you keep your job.

• 1:36:36Speaker 04

I showed the fuckin' old bag.

• 1:36:38Speaker 03

  That's a fact, man.

• 1:36:40Speaker 06

He said, "I love Lloyd Bree."

• 1:36:42Speaker 03

Can I tell you why? He wrote his own verses, all his verses. Yeah, and the chorus. And the chorus.

• 1:36:47Speaker 04

Like I said, Fab is featured.

• 1:36:48Speaker 03

Respect to Fab. But Fab is nice though. Fab is nice.

• 1:36:51Speaker 04

I'm not saying, now that I think about it. But you gotta understand. Fifty is the greatest of all time.

• 1:36:54Speaker 06

  Yo, he not saying stop.

• 1:36:57Speaker 04

Yeah, Fifty is the greatest of all time. Shit, he changes fast.

• 1:36:59Speaker 03

He's the greatest of all time.

• 1:37:00Speaker 04

At the end of the day, hip hop is, you see, you look at us as the bad guys, right? Hip hop has always been.

• 1:37:06Speaker 06

Well, you just brought up Bangs Told This up there. Look at my guy over here.

• 1:37:09Speaker 04

My man's book, Fab is Not.

• 1:37:11Speaker 03

Oh shit, he's international. Yeah, he's an international brand.

• 1:37:13Speaker 04

There we go. Gimme, you remember back in the days, Gimme Minds?

• 1:37:16Speaker 06

Yeah, I'm gonna give him a deal. Oh, we gonna bring that back. I'm gonna give him a deal. We bring that back.

• 1:37:20Speaker 04

He's on tour now, Fab is Not. That's the point. See, my whole thing is, people are looking at, yo, he got lyrics, lyrics. You gotta be the best rapper in your basement, but if you're worldwide, like Eminem, and sells 16 million, I'm looking up to you. And I'm not even on that level. I'm not, I'm doing clubs. These guys are doing arenas.

• 1:37:36Speaker 03

Can we talk about acting though? Cause I think you guys are doing a little acting. Yeah, gimme that.

• 1:37:40Speaker 04

  What do you mean?

• 1:37:40Speaker 03

  Yo, what the fuck?

• 1:37:41Speaker 06

He gave him a deal. When niggas say some dumb shit, give him a deal.

• 1:37:47Speaker 03

He ain't said nothing dumb yet.

• 1:37:51Speaker 03

I just wanna try, it's just fun.

• 1:37:52Speaker 04

It's fucked up, but it's cool.

• 1:37:53Speaker 03

Are there aspirations for acting gigs?

• 1:37:56Speaker 06

  Definitely.

• 1:37:57Speaker 04

I got, I got some acting shit I did, but I don't wanna talk about it early.

• 1:38:00Speaker 03

Oh, like it's not out yet, but you already did?

• 1:38:01Speaker 04

Nah, not out, but it's, it's big.

• 1:38:03Speaker 03

And are you nice at acting?

• 1:38:04Speaker 04

Yeah, I'm one of the best.

• 1:38:05Speaker 03

  How you not know that?

• 1:38:06Speaker 06

  He trash.

• 1:38:09Speaker 06

My nigga, he trash. He got some work to do, he trash.

• 1:38:11Speaker 04

  I'm not true.

• 1:38:12Speaker 06

  He trash.

• 1:38:12Speaker 04

He's gonna play the bank teller.

• 1:38:14Speaker 06

I wanna know bank teller, I was in the movie with Bruce Willis.

• 1:38:16Speaker 04

  Oh, Bruce Willis.

• 1:38:18Speaker 06

Bruce Willis, my shit was on Netflix. He was number three on Netflix, and he was in the movie theater.

• 1:38:24Speaker 04

  For sure.

• 1:38:24Speaker 06

This motherfucker did a movie that was on Tubi and YouTube.

• 1:38:27Speaker 04

  I did Swat 2.

• 1:38:29Speaker 03

  I was on Tubi.

• 1:38:33Speaker 06

Swat 2. You never seen Swat 2?

• 1:38:35Speaker 03

Nah, I don't know if I saw Swat.

• 1:38:37Speaker 04

No, Swat was getting the first one with LL and them, that was good.

• 1:38:40Speaker 03

I think, I remember the movie, but I don't know if I saw it.

• 1:38:42Speaker 04

We did it with, oh, I shouldn't say Benny Boom, Fifty's not friends with Benny Boom.

• 1:38:45Speaker 06

  Do not say that, yes.

• 1:38:46Speaker 04

He ain't gonna say Benny Boom. Benny Boom and Fifty ain't friends with each other. But listen.

• 1:38:50Speaker 03

Why does Fifty got so many, so much problems?

• 1:38:52Speaker 04

Listen, this what you, you know, I like this, this put it for the peace guy right here. I'm black. I'm gonna, let me, let me, let me, let me, let me, let me, let me explain something to you. There's something in this business called fuck business, right? So you see how the big boss man is giving you a platform, right? Yeah, we're all in this together. We're all in this team. But he's still a boss. They're not coming to just see you, they're coming to see you. So, so this is what you gotta understand. When me and Murz is on stage and the arena's packed and it's thirty thousand, I'm like, wow, this shit is crazy. But they're not here to see us. Yeah, they're here to see fifty. So he's put me on the stage and I'm getting paid, right?

• 1:39:36Speaker 04

He did that with all his artists. I don't, I don't hate Jay-Z, there's no Jay-Z hate. But what I'm saying is, I seen fifty when Buck fucked up the money, fifty helped him with the taxes. So you gotta understand, when you're a black man and you're getting half a million dollars and you're buying weed and you're fucking bitches. Two fifties going to the government. But you're not thinking that until months later. Months later, when that money, listen, let me talk.

• 1:39:57Mark Gagnon?

I mean, Jay did that too.

• 1:39:58Speaker 04

Listen, with who, Uzi and them? He wasn't doing it with Bleek and them, let's go back.

• 1:40:01Mark Gagnon?

  Kanye.

• 1:40:02Speaker 04

Come on. Kanye, shut the fuck up.

• 1:40:04Mark Gagnon?

  When he was broke.

• 1:40:04Speaker 04

Listen, let me talk, we don't know Kanye. He did it on like, he did it on Lil Wayne too. Listen, okay, he helped Lil Wayne, but Lil Wayne wasn't in the shit. Now, let me, let me explain. Fifty was more of family than business. Jay seemed like, I love Jay. That's a fact. Jay just feel like he was more business at that point than family.

• 1:40:21Mark Gagnon?

  Got it.

• 1:40:21Speaker 04

So Buck will go on tour, no disrespect to Buck, he'll make a half a million dollars, he's buying three or four cars on the way on the tour. He's buying red monkey jeans, that's when jeans was, you know, at that time, they was five hundred a thousand. Now niggas is paying ten thousand, we gonna get to that later. Cause you're like, why fifty, why fifty? So I'm gonna get to that. So when he fucks up that money, cause you know you have a grace period when you make that kind of money. I know, I know. No, no, no, no, he's like, why fifty, god damn. He's a criminal, man. Everybody, everybody bought it. He said, look, listen, can I see? So look, so look, so by the time the tour is done. If your friends don't ride for you, like, yeah, yo, they know you're a crime. Cause you a boss, so I'm gonna speak the facts, listen, right?

• 1:41:04Speaker 04

You always respect the boss, honor war, know who the commander is. That's what they tell you, that's one of the rules, respect discipline, know your commander, motherfuckers need to read books. Now look, check it.

• 1:41:15Speaker 06

Y'all motherfuckers need to be books, man.

• 1:41:17Speaker 04

He tried to say I couldn't read, huh? I was like, fucked up one line, he said residual. It was receiving, nigga. He just gone sometimes. Yo, look, remember the camera all you wanna put on him? Fuck outta here. Like, get outta here.

• 1:41:32Speaker 06

That's why he tried to not give me the address to have me here.

• 1:41:34Speaker 04

I didn't want that, man. I gave it to him like an hour before, Joey. Yo, listen, so what I'm saying is, look, so Buck will get off the road. He done made eighty thousand, show money, the, you know, the money, the other money. Yeah. At the party, I wanna say about that. Sure, sure. He's busting that, that's what's down. You got weed, you got bitches, take the credit card. I was seeing it all last year. Take the credit card. You got groupie hoes, baby mamas all over the place. Yep. That five hundred, by the time you get home, you done spent like two hundred, buck fifty, then you coming home, then you splurging more. And now, when you down to two fifty and you gotta pay. Two fifty?

• 1:42:11Speaker 06

You wouldn't even realize, that's not even yours no more.

• 1:42:13Speaker 04

Who you think is the cleanup man?

• 1:42:16Speaker 04

When niggas catch them gun cases, Yayo, parole, parole lawyer, or, um, state lawyer, fed lawyer, who you think is paying all the, um, lawyer fees? When niggas get stabbed at the Vibe Awards, Buck is scared, oh shit, they talking about cinnamon, it's Pelican Bay, nigga. Who you think paying the lawyer fees? Shout to Scott Lehman, you know what I'm saying?

• 1:42:35Speaker 06

  Yeah.

• 1:42:35Speaker 04

You know what I mean, fifty, okay?

• 1:42:37Speaker 06

Scott Lehman turned a gun charge into stolen property.

• 1:42:39Speaker 04

  Now, let's keep going.

• 1:42:41Speaker 06

  Salute to Scott.

• 1:42:42Speaker 04

Now, now, now, now, let's keep going. Young Buck helped him with his taxes. Banks, he, he didn't really help, Banks did his own thing, but he put him on a platform to have records and put money, cause people just think there's money behind a record. Who you think pays the money? There's money behind every record, you gotta put money to promote a project. Yeah. Um, he put on fucking Mob Deep, MOP, know what I'm saying? Prodigy, he had houses back in the days, but when Prodigy came to my house, it was like, whoa, he went and bought a new house. Who you think helped him? Rest in peace, Prodigy. He paid fifty back, gave him, go ahead, man. Cause fifty is one of them niggas. Yo, yeah, you fucked up? Yeah, if I spent a little more taxes than him, I had, I blew, like, I mean, I gotta pay these people two fifty. Yeah, here, get it, just get back to me when you get it, no problem. We go to Little Meach.

• 1:43:27Speaker 04

They was hanging with Rick Ross and everything, it's no disrespect, but I remember when he was rapping, had braids in Detroit and nobody cared. Fifth put them on, he making millions, he's with ATL, he's with Gunna, he's with Thugger. Niggas getting drunk, niggas partying, chrome hard jeans, ten thousand dollar jeans, you would never buy those. You would never buy ten thousand dollar jeans and you're super rich. You and Charlamagne is super rich.

• 1:43:47Speaker 06

  Charlamagne is super rich.

• 1:43:48Speaker 04

  No, you're rich too.

• 1:43:49Speaker 06

  He's super rich.

• 1:43:50Speaker 03

  Charlamagne.

• 1:43:52Speaker 03

Don't even put me in that, don't even put me in that Charlamagne category, man.

• 1:43:56Speaker 04

So, so Fifty always instilled in us like, yo, you don't need to buy certain shit, buy the house first. Know what I'm saying? So I seen him help Uncle Murda. No disrespect, Uncle Murda's overseas, he know, yo, he, I'm not saying, oh, it's because Murda put, Murda, I'm not trying to throw it out there like he helped Murda get his first house, but he's the type, yo, you got a house yet?

• 1:44:15Speaker 06

He made me even think about that. Cause I wasn't even thinking about it, he made me think about that.

• 1:44:20Speaker 04

Like before he signed you, buy a car, he's gonna tell you, yo, like, yo, yo, bro, get that house first. Know what I'm saying? This episode is brought to, now let's get back to the show.

• 1:45:50Speaker 03

  He learn all this.

• 1:46:04Speaker 03

There were dudes on the block that had like high level economic.

Yeah, it's just you, you just learn, it's all marketing.

• 1:46:20Speaker 03

Right, right, right, right, right, that makes sense.

• 1:46:22Speaker 04

It's just like when we came home and he was like, we had to Jacob watch and he was like, yo, you know somebody might kill you for that.

• 1:46:26Speaker 03

Yeah, so why are you walking around with that?

• 1:46:28Speaker 04

Cause you talking about niggas that went through the realest shit and beef with the realest niggas.

• 1:46:32Speaker 03

So this is an interesting thing, it's like if, if the loyalty is gonna be extended.

• 1:46:36Speaker 04

We can smoke up here too, right?

• 1:46:37Speaker 03

Yeah, you guys can smoke if you want.

• 1:46:38Speaker 06

  What the fuck?

• 1:46:39Speaker 04

I'm about to show you that too, man. I totally slipped my mind.

• 1:46:43Speaker 06

  Yo, what the fuck?

• 1:46:44Speaker 04

Yo, yo, light up, bitch, you got something wrong, dawg.

• 1:46:46Speaker 06

  Aw, man, god.

• 1:46:47Speaker 03

  Light up, light up.

• 1:46:49Speaker 06

My fucking shit is in there, my, oh fuck, man, it's all good, man, it's all fucking, this is the best fucking show ever, man.

• 1:46:57Speaker 03

  But I, I get, I get.

• 1:46:59Speaker 04

He's like, yo, Joey, we got any?

• 1:47:01Speaker 03

  No, only.

• 1:47:02Speaker 06

Joey, we got it, no fuck.

• 1:47:04Speaker 04

I need a joint right now.

• 1:47:05Speaker 03

But I get, I get the, I get the, um, the frustration, right, if you extend loyalty in one way and then you don't feel it come back at all. That's a huge violation.

• 1:47:14Speaker 06

  Definitely, oh, yes.

• 1:47:15Speaker 03

Right, like if you know that you can take care of somebody when they fuck up their bag, you know you can take care of somebody if they get locked up, you know you can take care of somebody if they're going through whatever situation, and then the second.

• 1:47:24Speaker 06

They show you that they not loyal to you, it's like, what the fuck?

• 1:47:27Speaker 04

Cause there's, there's no loyalty in the business.

• 1:47:29Speaker 06

You know, that's 50 says some things like that.

• 1:47:30Speaker 04

Yeah, because, but I'm one of a kind. There's no loyalty in the business, I'm loyal to the guy that turned the lights on and who I came in the game with.

• 1:47:37Speaker 03

Can I tell you something, man? I don't know, I, I feel like that's not just rap, I feel like that's my. Business sometimes, I feel like it's a lot of people.

• 1:47:46Speaker 04

It's like being in a gang. It's like, it's the same thing. If you're in this, like you, for me, if I was a gang member, if I was Mac Boil or Jet, Crip, whatever, I would never change that gang. Like, I would never say not dropping my flag. With this until. With that set. Till the wheels fall off. To me, it's common sense. A lot of people have it. It's just, it's not displayed in our business. Cause our businesses, we, you know.

• 1:48:04Speaker 03

I think sometimes people are so hungry for success, right? Like you were saying, like they'll sit next to the flame, right? They're sitting next to the fire, cause there's heat there. And the second they look like they could be something else, they could jump. But it's like, I don't know. I, I don't, maybe it's different. Maybe it's a New York thing. I don't know if it's not, but.

• 1:48:19Speaker 04

Understand, a wise man once told me that Shaka Zulu in the nineties, my first time going to ATL, man, Ludacris, this was Ludacris was doing window, um, radio. Shout to Shaka Zulu, he shot some shit up in all that. Don't bring that up. I'm just saying, I mean, he was defending himself. Self defense, what the fuck nigga, that's a stupid nigga, that's shot. Fuck, man, that's stupid, he shot. I'm trying to turn to get off of him sometimes. Fuck outta here. Take the rest of them.

• 1:48:44Speaker 03

A wise man once told me.

• 1:48:47Speaker 04

I'm boozy, I'm boozy sometimes. A wise man once told me. Shooter nigga. No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no. And Shaka's my man. He was there when I got my first deal. Shaka, Shaka, that's my nigga. No, but he once told me, he told me, he said, listen, yo, success doesn't come in the masses, right? Yeah. So there's gonna only be one Andrew Schulz. There's only gonna one be one, uh, Shane Gillis or, uh, fucking Kill Tony. Yeah. There's only gonna one be one fifty, one J, one Nas. You know what I'm saying? It doesn't come in the masses like that. As far as like actors, one Leonardo, am I saying it right now? You killed that nigga. I actually shook his hand. Not with the glitter though, not with the glitter. Shout to Barry. Can't take no pictures from that guy. Barry, definitely. The cap is only with no pictures.

• 1:49:32Speaker 04

And my nigga keep his hat low.

• 1:49:35Speaker 06

Like he in the party, right?

• 1:49:39Speaker 04

  See for me like

• 1:49:40Speaker 06

And he'll know who you are.

• 1:49:41Speaker 04

This is what I'm saying, the rooms that like J Artist was in and serving, and no disrespect to him, like that's the rooms J and B gonna be in. I'm in the rooms with Tillman, I don't Wesley Snipes, the Kardashians. Like I done met Leonardo, this dude just bought Supreme, like I'm in those rooms, like there hasn't been any, like I'm like, we couldn't go to Nelson Mandela crib because we smell like weed and it was like a hundred niggas with fittings. But fifty went to Nelson Mandela crib, like I done been in Nelson Mandela cell. I done been on Clary Islands, Black Sand, like up, went to the, to, to, to the Louvre. The, you know, African brothers.

• 1:50:15Speaker 06

They can skip in the line and see the Mona Lisa.

• 1:50:17Speaker 04

African brothers, we know you, see this what I'm saying, I'm worldwide. We worldwide.

• 1:50:22Speaker 03

I feel you, I feel you.

• 1:50:24Speaker 04

Well, we're skipping the line, all the white folks looking like, who is these niggas, who is these niggas? You know, and I'm doing the Mona Lisa, I do elegant shit.

• 1:50:37Speaker 04

Look, nobody else, me and murder Mona Lisa, see that's the shit I'm talking about, that's experiences. No other artists, you, G, only G would do that. Put it on silent, be professional.

• 1:50:49Speaker 04

But this is what I'm trying to say, J is not, J Artist, J is not even big now.

• 1:50:53Speaker 06

You're my man, why you keep talking about J, man?

• 1:50:55Speaker 04

  No, I'm just saying.

• 1:50:57Speaker 06

You got my man hot over here, man.

• 1:50:58Speaker 04

Cause I'm trying to tell him like

• 1:51:00Speaker 03

  But there's, there's

• 1:51:02Speaker 04

And look, and look, we did this

• 1:51:04Speaker 03

So my question to you is

• 1:51:05Speaker 04

And we did this with hate.

• 1:51:06Speaker 03

  So what do you do?

• 1:51:06Speaker 04

We didn't have, like I said, when everybody was, when they not hot, what are you gonna do? Stand next to fire, DJ Khaled. We couldn't do that.

• 1:51:13Speaker 03

So what do you do, so here's my question.

• 1:51:15Speaker 04

  We couldn't do that, brother.

• 1:51:16Speaker 03

  What do you do?

• 1:51:17Speaker 04

  We had a disadvantage.

• 1:51:18Speaker 03

What do you do when you see people that don't have that type of loyalty? What is your energy with them?

• 1:51:23Speaker 04

  I just, it's the industry.

• 1:51:24Speaker 03

You just, you, you just expect that to be industry, you have your own code and you're gonna live by your code no matter what.

• 1:51:29Speaker 04

Might not be friends when they leave here, I don't know, me and him might not be friends.

• 1:51:34Speaker 04

I'm just saying, me and him might not be friends.

• 1:51:36Speaker 03

Your own personal constitution is just your own person, you don't put that on other people, you say.

• 1:51:40Speaker 04

  Yeah, I don't, I don't have expectations because I know it's the industry, it's a cutthroat business.

• 1:51:45Speaker 03

See, I think there's some times where it's like, I assume that there were expectation where you just hold down the people that help you, you hold down the people that rock with you, like

• 1:51:52Speaker 06

It supposed to be like that though.

• 1:51:53Speaker 04

Put it like this, put it like this. Like if I go get a deal or like in a film, I'm always gonna say things fifty because I know. His fame is a part of, we're a part of his. Yes. We're a part of his story. That's. So it's always appreciation there. And, and we gotta stop the word glazing and dick riding. That's like these guys, if he go get a deal and it's because of you, you come back, yo, I appreciate you.

• 1:52:14Mark Gagnon?

  This is my 50.

• 1:52:15Speaker 04

  Yeah.

• 1:52:19Speaker 04

Nobody could go, no other comedian or any other guy up top could say anything bad about you when I'm in the room. Cause to me, respect is, if, if Murda leaves the room, you, I'm gonna, if he's not in the room and you talk bad about him, I don't wanna hear it. If he's in the room, you talk bad about him, I don't wanna hear it.

• 1:52:36Mark Gagnon?

  Yeah.

• 1:52:36Speaker 04

That's just how it is. This guy has a wrap up. We got beef with Jermaine Dupri, Reverend Run.

• 1:52:40Speaker 06

Yo, man, shout out Jermaine Dupri and Reverend Run are my brothers. Those are my guys. He keep talking like I got beef with them. Reverend Run is my guy. Shout out to Diggie Simmons. I used to work with him.

• 1:52:51Speaker 04

  Tired of the wrap ups.

• 1:52:52Speaker 06

  Shout out to Russell Simmons.

• 1:52:54Speaker 04

I'm tired of the wrap ups.

• 1:52:56Mark Gagnon?

You can't talk to anybody that 50 got beef with. That 50 got beef with everybody.

• 1:53:00Speaker 04

I don't wanna talk to them.

• 1:53:01Mark Gagnon?

But that's what I'm talking about.

• 1:53:02Speaker 04

I don't wanna talk to them.

• 1:53:03Mark Gagnon?

I'm talking about, but you just said, yo, you just said you want guests on your podcast.

• 1:53:06Speaker 04

50 tell me the same thing. We got plenty of guests that we friends with.

• 1:53:09Mark Gagnon?

Yo, but that's, but 50 beef with everybody.

• 1:53:10Speaker 04

But that's how I feel. If you're beefing with my dude, I don't wanna fuck with you. I know, I respect that. Andrew Schulz, he's bigger than all these bum ass rappers.

• 1:53:19Speaker 04

I'm gonna get Tyson Terry, I'm gonna get Jim Carrey or somebody. You fucking up your mom.

• 1:53:24Mark Gagnon?

I was just thinking of Murda.

• 1:53:25Speaker 04

50's connected with connected people. You thinking about bum ass rappers.

• 1:53:28Speaker 06

Yeah, I know what you mean, cause he said.

• 1:53:29Speaker 04

  I don't know rappers, man.

• 1:53:30Speaker 06

  He disrespect niggas all day.

• 1:53:32Speaker 04

  All the time.

• 1:53:33Speaker 06

  He all day, everybody.

• 1:53:34Mark Gagnon?

  But it's only, it's disrespecting.

• 1:53:36Speaker 04

  Who do I disrespect?

• 1:53:37Mark Gagnon?

  But it's disrespecting disrespectful dudes.

• 1:53:40Speaker 04

  I tell the truth.

• 1:53:40Mark Gagnon?

If they're disrespectful. No. How so? Jay ain't do nothing to him.

• 1:53:44Speaker 04

  How am I disrespecting Jay?

• 1:53:46Mark Gagnon?

  You don't know.

• 1:53:46Speaker 04

I said he was, him and 50 and Diddy was the biggest all, all time.

• 1:53:50Mark Gagnon?

You also don't know the backstory between them.

• 1:53:52Speaker 04

But you ain't gonna say nothing about Diddy, cause he's one of the political motherfuckers. See, he the ones.

• 1:53:55Mark Gagnon?

Nah, you don't talk shit about Diddy. I don't fuck with Diddy at all.

• 1:53:57Speaker 04

But listen, before that, you was.

• 1:53:58Mark Gagnon?

  Nah, even before that.

• 1:54:00Speaker 04

  No.

• 1:54:01Mark Gagnon?

  Nah, nah.

• 1:54:03Mark Gagnon?

That's crazy. That's crazy. That's crazy. That was funny as fuck. That was funny as fuck. I know, he said, I know. It was funny as fuck. So I gotta give it to him.

• 1:54:12Speaker 04

  It was funny as fuck.

• 1:54:13Mark Gagnon?

  That's what I'm saying, like.

• 1:54:15Speaker 04

Diddy got a man jizzing on him and dancing and all that.

• 1:54:19Speaker 06

  Damn.

• 1:54:19Speaker 04

And people still wanna be, don't tell me you're political.

• 1:54:22Speaker 06

No, all I'm trying to say is you be trying to tell me to stop the rap up. Nigga, your interviews are a rap up version.

• 1:54:28Speaker 03

  I know.

• 1:54:29Speaker 06

You do a rap up version in your interviews.

• 1:54:31Speaker 03

You can't stop the rap up.

• 1:54:32Speaker 04

Yo, listen. When you got little kids saying no Diddy, right?

• 1:54:36Speaker 06

You got my guy Andrew saying I can't stop the rap up.

• 1:54:38Speaker 03

  Can't stop the rap up.

• 1:54:39Speaker 06

  This is worldwide.

• 1:54:40Mark Gagnon?

  It is.

• 1:54:41Speaker 04

When you say, alright, now look, he talked about Jay, right? We ain't gonna talk about the Epstein files now either, right?

• 1:54:47Speaker 06

  That, that, that.

• 1:54:49Speaker 04

  You're quiet.

• 1:54:49Mark Gagnon?

First of all, no, first of all.

• 1:54:50Speaker 04

I'm not, I'm not saying anything, I'm just going off of what I see.

• 1:54:53Mark Gagnon?

  First of all.

• 1:54:54Speaker 06

  I made a blunt, man.

• 1:54:57Speaker 03

  Write it up.

• 1:54:58Speaker 04

Look, I'm just going off of what I see. And I'm not, and I'm allegedly, cuz I don't, I'm not saying nothing.

• 1:55:05Speaker 03

  Unverified.

• 1:55:06Speaker 04

Look, unverified, allegedly, I don't know. But what I'm saying is what I learned.

• 1:55:10Speaker 06

This is a flagrant motherfucking show, man.

• 1:55:14Speaker 04

What I learned about the rap game, niggas like him, and other people and journalists, they pick and choose. So somebody can be a rat, and they be like, he's a rat! And then somebody else could be a rat, and they be like, his music's good, so he gets a pass. Yo!

• 1:55:28Speaker 03

What I, I think, I think that's true, but I don't think Al is like that. He really loves Jay-Z, so he jokes around, he's like, ah, it was bullshit, that's fucked.

• 1:55:36Speaker 04

But if he brought out that funny shit that just came up, allegedly, he's gonna be quiet.

• 1:55:40Speaker 03

No, what he says is, he jokingly says like, ah, this is bullshit, but.

• 1:55:44Speaker 04

  I hope it is.

• 1:55:45Speaker 03

  I hope it is.

• 1:55:46Speaker 04

But what I'm saying is, I learned the rap game and selective politicking.

• 1:55:50Speaker 03

Oh, that's, that's the life game.

• 1:55:51Speaker 06

  That's life, yeah.

• 1:55:53Speaker 04

So you know what, so I'm glad, I'd rather have him.

• 1:55:55Speaker 03

But I thought we all had the same rules, like I thought if somebody was down for you, row for you, really helped you out, that you were gonna be loyal to them forever. But now I see the people, really, their loyalty is just like what gets them to the next step.

• 1:56:05Speaker 06

Whatever can help you, if this helps me.

• 1:56:07Speaker 03

  And that's not loyalty.

• 1:56:08Speaker 06

That's not loyalty, hell no, that's not loyalty.

• 1:56:10Speaker 03

  That's true.

• 1:56:10Speaker 06

  That's not loyalty.

• 1:56:11Speaker 04

There you go, it's all about how I can use you to, cuz like half of the people I meet, yo, yo, yo, I love you, but it's really to get to 50.

• 1:56:18Speaker 06

  Oh, my god.

• 1:56:19Speaker 03

And you have to look through that.

• 1:56:20Speaker 04

Look, do it, I don't even hang with nobody like that. 50, 50, 50! It's just like, and you gotta understand, like, I'm, I could never be jealous of my career. You gotta remember, Marvin Gaye, look who, Joey's not here, didn't his father kill him?

• 1:56:34Speaker 03

  I didn't know that.

• 1:56:35Speaker 04

Look it up, where's Joey at?

• 1:56:36Speaker 06

  Joey! Joey!

• 1:56:39Speaker 04

Joey, did Marvin Gaye's father kill him?

• 1:56:42Speaker 03

  Answer it.

• 1:56:43Speaker 06

  Yes.

• 1:56:44Speaker 04

  Can we find it?

• 1:56:45Speaker 06

  Marvin Gaye's father was killed.

• 1:56:46Speaker 04

Y'all don't know nothing, man. Look it up, please, Joey.

• 1:56:49Speaker 06

  Oh, shit, look that up.

• 1:56:51Speaker 04

  The closest ones to you.

• 1:56:52Speaker 03

He was killed by his father.

• 1:56:53Speaker 04

  Oh.

• 1:56:53Speaker 03

  Wow.

• 1:56:54Speaker 04

  Thank you.

• 1:56:55Speaker 06

  Damn.

• 1:56:55Speaker 04

  And what's the other?

• 1:56:56Speaker 06

I'll be right back, I'm gonna get my weed.

• 1:56:57Speaker 04

And what was, and what was the, um, other singer? Selena Gomez?

• 1:57:00Speaker 03

  Oh, wow.

• 1:57:00Speaker 04

She was killed by her best friend, right?

• 1:57:02Speaker 03

  Selena Gomez.

• 1:57:02Speaker 04

  No, no, not Selena Gomez.

• 1:57:04Speaker 03

  Selena, Selena.

• 1:57:05Speaker 04

  Fucking hot.

• 1:57:06Speaker 03

  Yeah, yeah, yeah.

• 1:57:08Speaker 04

  Need a joint right now.

• 1:57:08Mark Gagnon?

I do this all the time and they get on me.

• 1:57:11Speaker 04

But see, he didn't know Marvin Gaye, y'all didn't know Marvin Gaye's father killed him?

• 1:57:13Speaker 06

  No.

• 1:57:14Speaker 04

  There you go.

• 1:57:14Mark Gagnon?

I know he shot him, yeah, that was crazy.

• 1:57:15Speaker 04

  The closest people to you.

• 1:57:17Mark Gagnon?

I know he was jealous of him, but that's crazy.

• 1:57:20Speaker 03

Yeah, Selena got killed by his, her like aunt or her?

• 1:57:23Speaker 06

No, it was like the, the head of the fan club.

• 1:57:25Mark Gagnon?

Yeah, head of the fan club.

• 1:57:26Speaker 03

And manager of her boutiques. Yeah, yeah, yeah, shot the singer back in Corpus Christi, holy.

• 1:57:31Mark Gagnon?

  No, but that's crazy.

• 1:57:31Speaker 04

  See?

• 1:57:32Speaker 03

  Yeah.

• 1:57:33Mark Gagnon?

Yeah. But here's one thing, and you're right, I am the peace guy. Like, I do want harmony in hip-hop, and I don't like-

• 1:57:40Speaker 04

Harmony in hip, did y'all hear that sucker shit?

• 1:57:42Speaker 06

Yeah, come on, that could never-

• 1:57:43Speaker 04

  Harmony in hip-hop.

• 1:57:44Speaker 03

This, in football, it can't be safe.

• 1:57:45Mark Gagnon?

  Yo, if Jay and-

• 1:57:47Speaker 04

Let me, let me, let me-

• 1:57:48Mark Gagnon?

If Jay and 50 went on tour, that would be the biggest tour in the world.

• 1:57:51Speaker 04

We don't care, we don't wanna see that.

• 1:57:52Mark Gagnon?

  Yes, we do!

• 1:57:53Speaker 04

  We wanna see this.

• 1:57:54Mark Gagnon?

  Who don't wanna see that?

• 1:57:55Speaker 04

  Everybody says, right?

• 1:57:57Mark Gagnon?

  Who don't wanna see that?

• 1:57:58Speaker 04

He said, he just said we want harmony in hip-hop, which sounds crazy to me, right?

• 1:58:01Speaker 03

  Yeah.

• 1:58:03Speaker 04

What's making Dirk and NBA big right now is because of their beef. You see a motherfucker get killed?

• 1:58:08Speaker 06

  I smell that shit.

• 1:58:11Speaker 04

  Let's go!

• 1:58:14Speaker 04

Look, let me finish. Oh, you just, this motherfucker just, this nigga just said harmony in hip-hop.

• 1:58:19Speaker 06

This is the harmony in hip-hop.

• 1:58:20Speaker 04

Guys, let me sit down, bro.

• 1:58:21Mark Gagnon?

Let me break it down, let me break it down.

• 1:58:23Speaker 04

Joey, come on. Hold on, let me, let me, let me finish, though.

• 1:58:26Speaker 06

  Alright.

• 1:58:26Speaker 04

Let's, let's keep it real. When you think of hip-hop, right?

• 1:58:29Speaker 06

  Mm-hmm.

• 1:58:30Speaker 04

We're thinking of Gladiator school. We wanna see blood on the map when we see a battle. When you see KRS and MC Shan, KRS diss Queens. Man, they keep on making it, Brooklyn keep on taking it, and Queens keep on faking it. And we was just like, oh, shit.

• 1:58:45Speaker 06

But still respected it, still respected it.

• 1:58:47Mark Gagnon?

  That's the thing.

• 1:58:48Speaker 04

  Right?

• 1:58:48Mark Gagnon?

So you see battle rap, battle rap, niggas can battle and shake hands after.

• 1:58:51Speaker 04

  Let me finish.

• 1:58:52Mark Gagnon?

Now, niggas is pulling out these pedophiles, and now your career is always tainted.

• 1:58:57Speaker 04

Hold on, let me, let me, let me finish. Let's, let's finish, because you're blocking-

• 1:58:59Speaker 06

Hold on, let me make points, let's go, let's get the points out, let's get the points out.

• 1:59:02Speaker 04

Look, when, and rest in peace to Prodigy, when Jay put- Prodigy on Summer Dream, you was a ballerina, I got the pictures, I seen you, right? Mm-hmm. That was crazy, but niggas didn't know, his grandmother was one of the illest dancing teachers back in the days. That did hurt, that did hurt Prodigy back in the days. Now look, now look.

• 1:59:19Speaker 03

  Damn near killed his career.

• 1:59:21Speaker 04

He was, look, that damn near killed his career, but he was a kid when he probably did one ballet course for his grandma, rest in peace to be, but he was a creative guy, right? Boom, they loved it, right? Nicki and Cardi, blood, we love it. Fifty and Ja Rule, yes, kill him, wake up, kill him. Ethan and Jay, Jay said, I nutted on your baby seat, nigga. I'm nutted on, on your girl, your girl's baby seat, nigga. Damn. The most violation, on your baby seat? Yeah. And then Nas came with Ether.

• 1:59:49Speaker 03

  Ether was crazy.

• 1:59:50Speaker 04

We want blood, that's how we hip-hop, harmony in hip-hop, this some fake reality. So now, can I, can I give my take? And me, look, now, come on, hold on, fast forward, NBA and Dirk, Dirk is in jail. They don't let people talk. He don't, cause he don't know. You don't know what you're talking about, man.

• 2:00:06Speaker 03

You can respond in a second.

• 2:00:07Speaker 04

  He said harmony in hip-hop.

• 2:00:10Speaker 04

Said harmony in, I wanna say harmony in hip-hop, he missed that shit. I'll break it down. So look.

• 2:00:15Speaker 03

  Yeah, yeah.

• 2:00:15Speaker 04

So now you got Dirk and NBA Youngboy, it's the biggest shit, NBA getting, getting out of jail, he beat this murder charge? He's good, he good money, they gonna, we gonna go buy his shit, you know what I'm saying? Mm-hmm. Poo Shiesty, shot a nigga, got out of jail, FDO first day out, oh yeah, number one on Billboard. Yeah. Niggas want blood, motherfucker, that's just hip-hop. Damn. They're violent. So what you was about to say, my guy? I'm not saying it's right, but motherfuckers ain't singing self-destruction, like this is the eighties, self-destruction, niggas ain't doing that.

• 2:00:43Mark Gagnon?

So now, competition has always been a part of hip-hop.

• 2:00:45Speaker 04

  Yes.

• 2:00:46Mark Gagnon?

  But, you can have.

• 2:00:47Speaker 04

  Do y'all agree?

• 2:00:48Mark Gagnon?

  Yes.

• 2:00:48Speaker 03

What I would say is that we want, we want.

• 2:00:50Mark Gagnon?

Let me, let me, let me just.

• 2:00:51Speaker 03

Let me just, just, I, what I would say is that we want blood and then elegance or opulence. It's like what makes, can I just get it all out? It's like what makes the Italian mafia so seductive? It's like you see these dudes with the suits and the fucking pinky ring and eating lobster at the nicest restaurants, but you know on the side, there's some guy shooting somebody up and there's warring tribes, et cetera. So it's like you kinda want the best of, best of both. You don't want just some street grimy, that, the street grimy gangster shit isn't what crosses over to the whole world.

• 2:01:22Speaker 04

  Yeah.

• 2:01:22Speaker 03

You need some like glitz and glamour.

• 2:01:25Speaker 04

It gotta appeal in a certain way.

• 2:01:26Speaker 03

  It's like the, yeah.

• 2:01:27Mark Gagnon?

  And so in hip-hop.

• 2:01:28Speaker 03

  Bank robbers and shit.

• 2:01:29Mark Gagnon?

In hip-hop, you have battle rap. Battle rap, they say the most disrespectful shit. Six inches away from each other's face.

• 2:01:36Speaker 04

  Okay.

• 2:01:36Mark Gagnon?

Talking about sucking dick and all that shit.

• 2:01:37Speaker 04

  Pause, yeah, okay.

• 2:01:38Mark Gagnon?

And then, right after, shit wait, and then right after the battle, they shake hands and they piece it up.

• 2:01:42Speaker 04

You know how many battle raps got shot up and niggas got cut, knocked out?

• 2:01:45Mark Gagnon?

No, but I'm just saying. But niggas can celebrate the fact that, hey, you, there's competing, there's battle rap, there's disrespect, but then you can shake hands and be peace.

• 2:01:54Speaker 04

  You want WWE.

• 2:01:56Mark Gagnon?

  You want WWE.

• 2:01:57Speaker 06

It's not gonna be like that with the hip hop after certain things is said.

• 2:02:00Mark Gagnon?

But why do we have to have this in our genre of music, every other genre of music?

• 2:02:05Speaker 04

Blame it on drill music. They talking about shooting a nigga, they rap about the nigga they shot about.

• 2:02:08Mark Gagnon?

  That's wrong too.

• 2:02:09Speaker 04

So, so who's worse? You blaming it on G-Unit when you didn't blame the new guys?

• 2:02:12Mark Gagnon?

No, I'm not blaming it on G-Unit.

• 2:02:13Speaker 04

They do songs and say, yo, I just killed this guy up the block.

• 2:02:16Mark Gagnon?

You think I'm blaming on G-Unit? I'm not blaming on G-Unit.

• 2:02:17Speaker 04

Cause you sound like a G-Unit blamer sometimes.

• 2:02:19Mark Gagnon?

  No, I'm not.

• 2:02:20Speaker 04

We ruined hip hop and bad guys, right? You just sound like this. Cause he keeps saying, no, why can't it be like this? Why if you think I beat them, and why we need harmony in hip hop? He sound like Ebro or one of them niggas, so what you gonna say? So for me, I'm gonna keep it real, like, you got drill music, K-Flock.

• 2:02:37Speaker 06

Bro, we gonna need you on that podcast. We gotta figure out some.

• 2:02:39Speaker 04

K-Flock was one of the biggest drill rappers in New York City. You know what he's known for? Killing motherfucking designer.

• 2:02:46Mark Gagnon?

  Nigga, and that's not good.

• 2:02:47Speaker 04

And you know what? That's gonna, this shit is gonna sell, and that's what these little kids want, and it's sorry to be. Because the kids in the suburbs that don't live that life, wanna see how it is that life is. Just like 50 getting shot nine times.

• 2:02:59Mark Gagnon?

Yeah, but is that good? Is that good for our culture, though?

• 2:03:01Speaker 04

  What do you mean?

• 2:03:02Mark Gagnon?

Is that good for our culture?

• 2:03:03Speaker 04

People are just saying they truth, brother. K-Flock is from the Bronx. It's kill or be killed, nigga.

• 2:03:08Mark Gagnon?

So, so there's two different questions.

• 2:03:10Speaker 06

You sound like I sound in them rest of Mars around the white people.

• 2:03:16Speaker 06

You sound like me in them rest of Mars for the record. You sound like me. You sound like me right now.

• 2:03:23Speaker 04

Hip hop has not been found, it been found on beef. Did you like Kendrick and Drake?

• 2:03:27Mark Gagnon?

  Yes, you did.

• 2:03:28Speaker 04

  Did you love it?

• 2:03:29Mark Gagnon?

  Yes, you did.

• 2:03:29Speaker 04

Before that, we was listening to Sexy Red. Hip hop was boring. Shut up.

• 2:03:32Mark Gagnon?

And right, and right now, niggas is calling Drake a pedophile.

• 2:03:35Speaker 04

  Shout to Sexy Red.

• 2:03:36Mark Gagnon?

Right now, niggas calling Drake a pedophile.

• 2:03:37Speaker 04

Oh, nah, he's on Kendrick's side.

• 2:03:39Mark Gagnon?

  No, no.

• 2:03:41Speaker 04

You didn't say this about Jay. Skies, politically. Skies, he didn't say this about Jay. He just don't like, he say we don't like, birdin' those ears. I took media training, this shit doesn't work for me.

• 2:03:54Speaker 04

The dude is just on fire.

• 2:03:55Mark Gagnon?

I'm the guy that don't give a fuck.

• 2:03:57Speaker 04

I don't even really understand what's happening, but I agree with Yayo, to be honest. I'm gonna win, cuz I don't care. Everybody cares. See, you know I like comedians? You know I like you. Shane Gillis killed Tony. Because they got cancelled before, right? But them motherfuckers don't care. And look, they're big as ever. Because if you care... See, he's political. We need hip-hop in harmony. He needs to listen to Talib Kweli. I want everybody to get money. He needs to listen to... You don't listen to the A-10, how to rob, you don't need to listen to...

• 2:04:24Mark Gagnon?

Yes, I do. What are you talking about?

• 2:04:26Speaker 04

No, I'm just saying, you're too hard.

• 2:04:27Speaker 06

  Say out the MOP, nigga.

• 2:04:29Speaker 04

Yeah, he doesn't listen. He don't listen, he don't even listen to...

• 2:04:32Speaker 06

Y'all be a mention on the flame rich show.

• 2:04:34Speaker 04

You know what I'm saying? There's never been... He said harmony in hip-hop. Guys are getting shot, and they're buying into a story more. They're buying into a story more. You got the guy...

• 2:04:44Speaker 06

  This is the greatest.

• 2:04:44Speaker 04

Right? Hypothetically, well, they killed Von, right? The guy that killed King Von, rest in peace to Von, one of my favorite artists. And NBA, and I love Dirk, I love all of them as artists, right?

• 2:04:52Mark Gagnon?

  Von was wild, yeah.

• 2:04:54Speaker 04

Von got killed. The kid that killed him is on stage with NBA Youngboy. They still giving NBA Youngboy plaques, and he's still getting loved by the fans, and Atlanta's giving him love, and he's dissing niggas, and niggas got smoked, and Timmy's up there dancing and shit after he killed the nigga. And niggas are buying right into it, even me. I'm watching the concert.

• 2:05:11Mark Gagnon?

  And now little...

• 2:05:12Speaker 04

  And so are you two.

• 2:05:13Mark Gagnon?

And now little kids is looking at the dude who shot Von, and it's like, oh shit, so I could get on, I gotta shoot, I gotta shoot somebody so I can get on.

• 2:05:19Speaker 04

  Well, the kids is...

• 2:05:19Mark Gagnon?

That's the shit I'm talking about. We can have competition with...

• 2:05:22Speaker 06

No, I don't think the kids is... I don't think the kids is going, I gotta shoot somebody to get on.

• 2:05:27Speaker 04

Yes, they are. No, they not.

• 2:05:28Mark Gagnon?

  You know, rappers right now...

• 2:05:29Speaker 04

I hate when people blame music and movies for dumb shit.

• 2:05:32Speaker 06

And you know what people have stopped saying too? You know how much murders was really taking place back in the days? When we was coming up?

• 2:05:37Mark Gagnon?

  A lot.

• 2:05:38Speaker 06

Yes, it's not that many. Shit happens today, but it's not that much. You just, Instagram make it look like there's a lot more going on. Back in the days, as far as in the streets, you had thousands of motherfuckers dying a year. A thousand here, twelve hundred, eight hundred, nine hundred. Now, not saying like it's nothing, but it'd be about two hundred. It's not as bad as it was.

• 2:05:58Mark Gagnon?

Crime has gone down, for sure.

• 2:05:59Speaker 06

But it's so much social media shit, that it make you look like it's extra crazy, but it's not like...

• 2:06:04Speaker 04

  We got super fans.

• 2:06:05Mark Gagnon?

  Just think about it.

• 2:06:05Speaker 04

  Calm down a lot.

• 2:06:06Mark Gagnon?

Just think about it. If you a nigga in the hood, like, and you trying to look for a way out? And you see, oh, this nigga shot Von and now he's on stage next to NBA Youngboy?

• 2:06:14Speaker 04

He might think that's my way of going. We want that. We want to hear that. Yeah.

• 2:06:18Speaker 03

So there's two things here, right?

• 2:06:19Speaker 04

People want to hear that. Just like when you see Scarface in the movie? And he shot everybody and that was the best scene? Just because Scarface shot everybody don't mean I'ma go somewhere.

• 2:06:26Mark Gagnon?

  That's a movie.

• 2:06:27Speaker 04

Just because I watch a movie and hear music, that shit ain't going to intimidate me.

• 2:06:30Speaker 06

But the music, the same thing with the music, though. It don't make you wanna just go.

• 2:06:33Speaker 04

It ain't gonna make you do some dumb shit.

• 2:06:34Speaker 03

Regardless if it does or it doesn't, I think what, what Al is saying is like, you're worried about the negative effects on the culture from the music. But that's separate from what is attractive. Naturally, we're gonna watch things that are rebellious. Whether that's like rock music saying, fuck everybody, I'm gonna bite a bat on stage, I'm gonna dress in crazy outfits. We're drawn to people that are going against whatever the system is, whatever the status quo is. So whether that's violence, you see that in hip hop, or you see it in mafia movies.

• 2:07:02Speaker 06

Movies, yes. Why do niggas love mafia movies?

• 2:07:05Speaker 03

Exactly. So we, we like that, or the Tony Montana shit, like, we like that shit. Naturally, we're drawn to it. The question is, I guarantee a lot of Italians would be like, well, it's fucked up that everybody thinks that I'm a fucking mafia guy because they watch these mafia movies. So they're upset about that negative stigma that comes with it.

• 2:07:20Speaker 04

  Of course.

• 2:07:21Speaker 03

But human beings naturally want to see chaos. Like, back in the day, the gladiator sports, you saw a fucking dude get eaten by a lion because it was, for whatever reason, entertaining to see.

• 2:07:31Mark Gagnon?

We agree on that. I know that, that's what people want.

• 2:07:34Speaker 04

See, you know what it is with me, and I'm gonna keep it real. I'm, I'm smart enough to know, like, I believe in God and all that. I don't wanna get religious because we don't talk about religious and politics because, you know, people get crazy already. But I know that, me, I do like violent movies. I do wanna watch Scarface. I do wanna watch Training Day. I do wanna watch Men in Society. I'm not, you might wanna watch a Tyler Perry movie, something laid back, some god, Christmas special.

• 2:07:56Mark Gagnon?

  Come on.

• 2:07:57Speaker 04

That's what you wanna watch. No, I'm saying, you see, some, just an example. That's not the Tyler Perry movie.

• 2:08:03Mark Gagnon?

I still go to Tyler Perry.

• 2:08:05Speaker 04

No, I'm not, man. I'm not.

• 2:08:07Speaker 06

I'm trying to get Tyler Perry on the real score.

• 2:08:11Speaker 04

No, you don't like a Christmas movie, Tyler. Suck this, it's a zone.

• 2:08:14Mark Gagnon?

I love Tyler Perry. He puts on the wig.

• 2:08:18Speaker 04

We all know, everybody knows, labels and everybody knows, and like sex sells. That's why when they, when they do an ad, a liquor ad, they're gonna get a hot chick.

• 2:08:26Speaker 03

  Right.

• 2:08:27Speaker 04

You see Megan Stallion, she's in shape, we're gonna get her for playing in fitness.

• 2:08:30Mark Gagnon?

  I understand the game.

• 2:08:31Speaker 04

So we know, sex sells, violence sells, in hip hop, we love battles. There's nothing wrong that, when it goes past that, and motherfuckers start getting shot.

• 2:08:38Mark Gagnon?

  That's what I'm talking about.

• 2:08:39Speaker 04

  Then I understand, but that's.

• 2:08:40Speaker 06

Klay Thompson, you gotta get out the pussy and back in the gym too. He just wanted to make this thing, I was just thinking about that, but go ahead.

• 2:08:45Speaker 04

  Oh.

• 2:08:45Mark Gagnon?

  You n***a what?

• 2:08:46Speaker 06

I ain't been on no jump shots. Yeah, there ain't no jump shots, right? Like, he been falling off ever since he been Klay Thompson, my nigga Klay Thompson, man.

• 2:08:53Speaker 04

Well, he got Megan and Stallion in the water.

• 2:08:54Speaker 06

Yeah, but he gotta get back in that gym, that shot, they left water with it, man. It was one of my favorite players, man.

• 2:08:58Speaker 04

She got wearing that ass out.

• 2:09:00Speaker 06

I was with Klay Thompson, man, man.

• 2:09:01Speaker 04

  He's wearing his ass out.

• 2:09:03Speaker 06

Man, what the fuck is going on?

• 2:09:04Speaker 04

He never had no Texas shit like that, man. But what I'm saying is, hip hop has always been blessed for it. Jay-Z and Nas, we love. 50 and Ja Rule, we loved. Um, let's, what else? Um, Dirk and NBA game week, we love that.

• 2:09:18Speaker 06

  Yeah, n****s love the drama.

• 2:09:19Speaker 04

Drake and Meek Mill's, we love that.

• 2:09:21Speaker 06

Drake and Kendrick, n****s is all ready, yeah.

• 2:09:23Speaker 04

Um, Drake and Pusha, um, we love battles because music is born without it. It is. It is.

• 2:09:31Speaker 03

Yo, hold on, Al, can I say one thing? To that point, to that point.

• 2:09:35Mark Gagnon?

  Keep it.

• 2:09:36Speaker 03

Taylor Swift's biggest albums are when she's going at her ops, right? When she's talking about that ex-boyfriend that broke her heart, or the guy that she was dating. That gets the most attention. And maybe girls don't have the bloodlust for violence, but they do wanna see that drama, that chaos.

• 2:09:50Mark Gagnon?

  I agree with that.

• 2:09:51Speaker 06

Like, I think Summer Walker should've dropped the record after the Pizza Hut shit, right?

• 2:09:55Speaker 04

Pizza Hut shit, Rich the Kid.

• 2:09:57Speaker 06

  Would've been popping.

• 2:09:57Speaker 03

What was, what was this, the Pizza Hut?

• 2:09:59Speaker 04

Well, Rich the Kid, baby moms, and it was arguing, and she was like, the next time you call just.

• 2:10:02Speaker 06

Say my number under Pizza Hut?

• 2:10:04Speaker 04

Tell them I'm Pizza Hut or something like that.

• 2:10:04Speaker 06

Summer Walker, she like, you'll say my number under Pizza Hut? So your girl don't know it's me? I think she should've dropped the record.

• 2:10:09Speaker 04

Summer Walker music is, every time she shit on tonight.

• 2:10:12Speaker 06

  The females love her.

• 2:10:13Speaker 04

Every time she shit on, like, one of her baby fathers, her music is fire.

• 2:10:16Speaker 03

  Yeah, we do wanna see.

• 2:10:17Speaker 04

People want real life shit, they want real pain.

• 2:10:19Speaker 03

We do wanna see a certain level of drama, like every one of those Housewives shows is pure drama. Every one of these, yeah, every, every reality show, there's no reality show. Like everybody gets along and everybody's high fiving. It's like they're borderline almost fighting each other.

• 2:10:31Speaker 04

  Fighting.

• 2:10:31Speaker 03

And that's why we watch every single week.

• 2:10:33Speaker 04

You might say, yo, Baddies is foolish because they fight, right? But I'm checking that shit out. When they, when they fight clips come, I'm watching that.

• 2:10:39Mark Gagnon?

  Yeah.

• 2:10:40Speaker 06

  You be watching the Baddies?

• 2:10:41Speaker 04

I mean, I'm not saying I watch the show, but if a clip is on.

• 2:10:45Speaker 06

  Oh, yeah.

• 2:10:46Speaker 04

See a fight video, you gonna watch it.

• 2:10:48Speaker 06

  You didn't say the guy.

• 2:10:49Speaker 04

And they get in their bag. If that's what they do, they get in the room and they rumble, that's cool. Just like wrestling or anything else you see.

• 2:10:55Mark Gagnon?

Yeah. I would just also like to see.

• 2:10:57Speaker 04

You want peace in hip hop. That's never happening.

• 2:10:58Mark Gagnon?

I would love to see, uh, 50 and Jay combined tour.

• 2:11:02Speaker 04

  That's never happening.

• 2:11:02Mark Gagnon?

  That shit would be fire.

• 2:11:03Speaker 04

  That's like Cardi B.

• 2:11:04Mark Gagnon?

Tell me how crazy that would be.

• 2:11:05Speaker 04

You wanna see Cardi B and Nicki tour too then? That's what you wanna see.

• 2:11:07Mark Gagnon?

  I would.

• 2:11:08Speaker 04

  It'll never happen.

• 2:11:08Mark Gagnon?

Like, that's great music. Why wouldn't we want to see both of them?

• 2:11:11Speaker 03

I mean, I mean, I mean, going to like, going to like, what's the Mets fucking?

• 2:11:16Mark Gagnon?

  Citi Field?

• 2:11:17Speaker 03

Going to Citi Field and watching like Jay, watching 50, watching Nas, like watching the New York Goats come together and do one concert for the sake. You're telling me that wouldn't be a crazy moment for New York City?

• 2:11:30Speaker 06

  That would be dope.

• 2:11:30Speaker 04

But listen, this is what y'all not getting though, right? That's like you being a comedian, Shane Gillis killed Tony, right? That's like, listen, hold on.

• 2:11:37Speaker 03

We all do do a show together.

• 2:11:38Speaker 04

No, no, I understand, but with rappers, it's gonna be like, yo, who's gonna be the headliner?

• 2:11:43Speaker 06

We gotta go through that too.

• 2:11:44Speaker 04

So, no, no, no, listen. Who's gonna be, right? Who's gonna be the headliner, right? That's gonna be the argument.

• 2:11:50Mark Gagnon?

  Yep.

• 2:11:50Speaker 04

So, when 50 wasn't where Jay was at, when 50 didn't sell 11 million records, of course Jay is gonna say.

• 2:11:57Speaker 03

  You headline.

• 2:11:57Speaker 04

Yeah, nah, you know, I'm gonna, I'm coming, you can come on tour with me because Jay standing next to the fire.

• 2:12:01Mark Gagnon?

  Yeah.

• 2:12:02Speaker 04

Like I told you, he's good at that. He's a genius. You're a genius, Jay. Stand next to the fire.

• 2:12:05Mark Gagnon?

  He is a genius.

• 2:12:06Speaker 04

He's standing next to the fire over here. About you, mother. He's the fire.

• 2:12:11Speaker 06

Oh, wow. I ain't the fire?

• 2:12:12Speaker 04

Nah, you ain't the fire. Stand next to the fire, right? So, look, but now 50 is the fire. He sold more records than Jay. So, he's on his tour. So, if they was going on tour, you know, who's on it? Who's the headliner? Because once you get a million dollars a show, it's an argument of who the fuck is the headliner? Because we're all making millions.

• 2:12:29Speaker 03

  Flip a coin.

• 2:12:30Speaker 04

  You don't understand business.

• 2:12:31Mark Gagnon?

  But once you making money.

• 2:12:32Speaker 04

I wish Jay and 50 could do a tour. Nigga, you gotta understand business. If it was Nicki and Cardi, who's gonna be the headliner? It's gonna be an argument about that. Nas and whoever, who's gonna be the headliner?

• 2:12:43Speaker 03

  Just flip a coin.

• 2:12:44Mark Gagnon?

Yeah, that's it. You can switch it.

• 2:12:45Speaker 04

  Nah, come on.

• 2:12:46Mark Gagnon?

  No, no.

• 2:12:46Speaker 03

  That's, that's. That's the ego.

• 2:12:48Mark Gagnon?

  Real talk.

• 2:12:49Speaker 04

So you think, so let me ask you, so let me ask you a question.

• 2:12:53Mark Gagnon?

You remember when Young Money went on tour?

• 2:12:55Speaker 04

You think, you think Prince and Michael Jackson would do a tour together? Them two egos?

• 2:13:00Speaker 03

  Well, that's.

• 2:13:01Speaker 04

  Rest in peace to both.

• 2:13:01Speaker 06

  That's a good, that's a good question.

• 2:13:03Speaker 04

Would they do a tour together?

• 2:13:04Speaker 06

  That's a good one, yeah.

• 2:13:06Speaker 04

  Come on, man.

• 2:13:06Mark Gagnon?

  Yeah, but that's ego.

• 2:13:07Speaker 04

If rappers got the biggest ego.

• 2:13:09Mark Gagnon?

  But it will be fire.

• 2:13:10Speaker 04

They think Prince and Michael Jackson.

• 2:13:11Speaker 06

But they, you, as you can see, it didn't happen.

• 2:13:13Speaker 03

  But that's the cool.

• 2:13:14Mark Gagnon?

  Are you gonna pass that?

• 2:13:15Speaker 03

If you could, if you could.

• 2:13:16Speaker 06

Didn't you just smoke a whole blunt by yourself?

• 2:13:18Speaker 03

It was a little Jilin style. It was a little Jilin.

• 2:13:22Mark Gagnon?

  See, that's that Brooklyn.

• 2:13:23Speaker 04

  Post-Somnus Brooklyn is. Told you.

• 2:13:27Speaker 06

Now he trying to get some queens around him.

• 2:13:30Speaker 04

I'll tell you, I'll tell you.

• 2:13:32Speaker 06

  He's a fucker, he's a troll in your head.

• 2:13:35Speaker 04

I'm tired of this motherfucker. I want harmony in hip-hop. That's like saying we want harmony in football. We wanna see blood. We wanna see motherfuckers get hit.

• 2:13:46Mark Gagnon?

Competition is different. We love competition, but then you can piece it up.

• 2:13:51Speaker 03

I don't think people care about competition. And the proof of that is, there are more, there are more people that watch like influencer boxing than just some elite boxers that nobody knows about. Because the influencers might have super drama between the both of them. They've been beefing for years and they wanna go settle it. And they can't even box that well, but we'll watch it because we wanna see these guys fight it out.

• 2:14:14Speaker 06

And they got huge social media followers.

• 2:14:17Mark Gagnon?

I think the influencers are much better at marketing.

• 2:14:21Speaker 03

  But what are they marketing?

• 2:14:22Mark Gagnon?

No, but, so right now, they're marketing the drama.

• 2:14:24Speaker 03

Exactly, they're not marketing the skills. We're not watching them to see the skills.

• 2:14:27Mark Gagnon?

Yes, but they're better than boxers at promoting a fight.

• 2:14:31Speaker 03

Sure, but the point to that is, we don't wanna just see elite competition. Like, we don't even care about most sports until the Olympics. And the Olympics is literally about my country's better than your country.

• 2:14:41Speaker 06

  Yeah.

• 2:14:42Speaker 03

Wars and shit behind it. Yeah, it's like generations of us going, yeah, we fucked, we saved the French, fuck you. And then we're just watching so we can save them again, or beat them again. So I, I think it's like, unfortunately, like you would love to just see the best of the best go at it. And ego does play a big part in it.

• 2:14:58Speaker 04

It's ego. Every rapper I met had ego, man.

• 2:15:00Speaker 03

It takes ego to ascend. Yeah, nobody cares about the All-Star game. Cause there's no stakes, no give a fuck. They don't care, we don't care.

• 2:15:08Speaker 04

Back in the days, Jordan was in the slam dunk contest.

• 2:15:10Speaker 03

Cause he's like, I'm better than all you motherfuckers.

• 2:15:12Speaker 04

  Times is different.

• 2:15:13Speaker 03

But you don't wanna see actual violence, though. Wait, but speaking of ego.

• 2:15:16Speaker 04

  Who don't wanna see violence?

• 2:15:17Speaker 06

I want both of y'all to rank all G-Unit artists from best to worst.

• 2:15:23Speaker 03

  Oh, wow.

• 2:15:23Speaker 04

Now you're bugging out, now you're shooting.

• 2:15:28Speaker 04

  He's on some conspiracy.

• 2:15:28Speaker 03

  I mean, hip-hop is, hip-hop is competition.

• 2:15:34Speaker 06

That nigga on some obvious shit over there. I thought hip-hop was competition. This is some G-Unit niggas right here.

• 2:15:41Speaker 04

Yo, who's the best in the G-Unit? Y'all ain't all that, y'all gonna rock it.

• 2:15:45Speaker 06

  Oh, shit.

• 2:15:47Speaker 04

Fifty always started. Fifty always started. Bunch of pussies in there.

• 2:15:52Speaker 03

You being like J. Cole right now, you running away from the battle.

• 2:15:54Speaker 04

  Niggas ain't talking about that.

• 2:15:57Speaker 06

That nigga shooting at J. Cole too. Why you shooting at my nigga J. Cole?

• 2:16:00Speaker 03

He's running away from the battle.

• 2:16:01Speaker 06

  He's shooting at J. Cole.

• 2:16:04Speaker 04

He's one of them guys in the comments, bro, you gotta watch this.

• 2:16:06Speaker 06

Nah, I never come out, I never come out.

• 2:16:08Speaker 04

Yo, Finn Banks and all that, Fab is better. Now, trying to, when you're the best, everybody comes for you. When Fifty was number one on top, everybody came for him. When Drake was number one and helped these niggas, so you know, made Fifty smart, he didn't help these stupid niggas.

• 2:16:21Speaker 03

  Oh, wow.

• 2:16:22Speaker 04

You started helping them later on and they still shitting on you.

• 2:16:25Speaker 03

  Isn't that interesting?

• 2:16:26Speaker 04

Drake helped everybody that he dissed them.

• 2:16:29Speaker 03

  Yeah, that shit is fat.

• 2:16:31Speaker 04

It's the game. I wouldn't have helped none of y'all, cause I know this shit is all fake. And you know why I win? Cause I'm smart enough to say fuck everybody, fuck the industry. And that's why my podcast, Me and Murder, I say mine's the best.

• 2:16:42Speaker 06

You know what I'm saying, you, I know.

• 2:16:44Speaker 04

I am the star of the show.

• 2:16:45Speaker 06

That's my book. That's my fucking book.

• 2:16:48Speaker 04

  I am the star, Joey.

• 2:16:49Speaker 06

That's my book. Fuck outta here. Fuck outta here. Joey, Google, Joey, Google who's the fucking star? Google who's the fucking star of the real world, Paul? I need to see what the fuck that shit say right now.

• 2:16:59Speaker 04

Nah, don't Google that. It's hard to stream this.

• 2:17:02Speaker 06

Fuck outta here. Don't Google that shit, Joey, cause if that's the shit, I might break that fucking screen.

• 2:17:09Speaker 04

I haven't made no music. Look, I'm hotter than I was 05 when Seductive came out. I even think I'm hotter than Fab right now, no disrespect.

• 2:17:17Speaker 06

Yo, this guy here, yo, this guy, yo, this guy here.

• 2:17:20Speaker 04

  He got bars.

• 2:17:21Speaker 06

My guy on this brand, he's funny, so.

• 2:17:23Speaker 04

Look, cuz listen, bars is not gonna market you. When you think about it, right? When I talked about Fab and we talked about Banks, right, on, on what's his name? Banks was trending number 23 on Twitter. You hardly see Banks. He was trending 23 on Twitter. And I guarantee that shit, look. Nah, that's my nigga. He overseas, that's what I'm saying. Nah, Banks is a, Banks is a real rapper. He don't, like, he don't care for all this shit. He's overseas, that's why I say, like, no disrespect to Fab, but who's touring? There's not a lot of rappers that tour from New York overseas, there's not. You know, motherfuckers make it to DC to go-go, and maybe to Atlanta, but maybe not even to bars Atlanta, cuz the South got their own market.

• 2:18:04Speaker 03

  That's true.

• 2:18:04Speaker 04

We was there for the transition, when they was like, fuck New York, and it was all about the South.

• 2:18:08Speaker 03

  Yeah.

• 2:18:09Speaker 04

I went through that period of hip-hop. Niggas don't, he don't know nothing about that.

• 2:18:12Speaker 03

  Was it harder to tour?

• 2:18:13Speaker 04

  Hell, yeah.

• 2:18:14Speaker 06

Yeah, yo, I fuck with you, bro.

• 2:18:15Speaker 04

I remember one time me and Banks went to some promo shit in Texas, and it was me, and it was all the DJs, and they was like, "We gotta stop playing these New York niggas." And you sitting there like, "It's about the South." So, think about it, the South, Boosie and them, they don't have overseas. But Boosie can make millions of dollars cuz he got Savannah, he got Texas, they got more markets. Think about the average artist from New York, right? They don't have, we don't have a big market.

• 2:18:41Speaker 03

  You got the Northeast.

• 2:18:42Speaker 04

We got New York, we got Connecticut, we might go upstate towards Buffalo, but when we start in Connecticut, but as far as going towards like DC and VA, it's a rap from there. They playing go-go and South music too.

• 2:18:53Speaker 03

  That's interesting.

• 2:18:54Speaker 04

So, artists from the South have more of an advantage. Why? Because the New York artist has upstate, you have Connecticut.

• 2:19:02Speaker 03

Boston, you could probably go to.

• 2:19:03Speaker 06

  Boston.

• 2:19:04Speaker 04

And then you got overseas and that's it.

• 2:19:06Speaker 03

So the New York artist has more attachment to overseas.

• 2:19:08Speaker 04

We only got like three or four real markets. Boston, Connecticut, New York, and upstate and all that, like, well, that's New York too. What I mean, like, you know, Buffalo and them, you know what I'm saying? The, the down south artists, they got Atlanta, they got Georgia, they got fucking, uh, they got motherfucking Savannah. They got motherfucking Mississippi.

• 2:19:25Speaker 06

Yeah, they got, they, they poppin'.

• 2:19:26Speaker 04

They could get rich just staying in the south. That's why a lot of the down south artists don't care about coming overseas.

• 2:19:31Mark Gagnon?

Yo, I'm curious, I see Fifty and Cam, they seem to be like really cool right now. Can we possibly?

• 2:19:37Speaker 06

Shout out to my nigga Killer Cam.

• 2:19:38Mark Gagnon?

Can we possibly get a G-Unit Dipset tour?

• 2:19:42Speaker 04

This nigga asking all the dumb questions.

• 2:19:43Speaker 06

Nigga, niggas is making movies, bro.

• 2:19:46Mark Gagnon?

  That's why.

• 2:19:46Speaker 04

How is that a dumb question? You, you weren't tour?

• 2:19:49Speaker 03

  Wait, Dipset or not?

• 2:19:51Speaker 04

Listen, shut the fuck up with that.

• 2:19:54Speaker 03

Is that a neck? Can I give him a neck for that?

• 2:19:55Speaker 06

Yeah, yeah, yeah, he can give a gift for that, he can give him a gift for that.

• 2:19:58Speaker 04

  That's a gift, why?

• 2:20:02Speaker 06

I don't think they in the music like that right now.

• 2:20:03Speaker 04

I caught the drags on that gift.

• 2:20:06Speaker 04

Small dude, man. You one of them controversy niggas.

• 2:20:12Speaker 04

  Small fucker, man.

• 2:20:13Speaker 03

  I like the music, nigga.

• 2:20:15Speaker 04

I grew up on you niggas, like. This is what, this is what people are, this is what he doesn't understand about music. Fifty is a million dollar show, nigga.

• 2:20:22Speaker 03

  Yeah.

• 2:20:24Speaker 04

There's nobody, there's nobody in Dipset or in G-Unit besides Fifty that get a million dollars in better show. I don't get a million, Banks ain't get a million, but nobody in G, but Murder, never got a million in the show. There's certain artists that's in, so how do you, when you tell Fifty to do something, he's gonna say, why? When people's merch sell like a fifty cent, like his merch can do ten million without Live Nation touching it on its own. Like, I'll do ten million, yo. Oh shit, we, how many shows we did? We did like thirty shows, it was the count. Seven, eight million! I'm like, I see why Fifty wanted to keep his merch sales on that one. It's, so the shit you talking about?

• 2:21:07Speaker 04

  Nah, but stupid.

• 2:21:10Speaker 04

  It's all about money.

• 2:21:12Mark Gagnon?

Yeah, but you was just in 11.

• 2:21:13Speaker 04

  Come on.

• 2:21:13Mark Gagnon?

How much 50 is getting for?

• 2:21:15Speaker 04

I'm not asking 50 what he's getting. 50 do plenty of private events.

• 2:21:19Mark Gagnon?

11 is not giving him a million dollars to perform at a nightclub.

• 2:21:22Speaker 03

  It's different.

• 2:21:23Speaker 04

You don't know what they giving him, bro. That's not me in this business.

• 2:21:26Speaker 03

  It's also different than a full show. Like if you're going there, you're doing a 5, 10, 15 minutes.

• 2:21:31Speaker 04

A mother, I done seen that nigga going rooms and a nigga touch him, yo. That's a half a million dollars.

• 2:21:35Speaker 06

You see a whole bunch of Branson and LaShim.

• 2:21:37Speaker 04

You don't know what he's gonna get.

• 2:21:38Speaker 06

That's why we in Club 11 to promote Branson and LaShim.

• 2:21:41Speaker 04

What you think Nicki and them get? You think, what you think Dre get? What you think Kendrick?

• 2:21:44Speaker 06

  I get my Rockway.

• 2:21:45Speaker 04

  I'm trying to understand.

• 2:21:46Mark Gagnon?

  Thank you, I appreciate it.

• 2:21:47Speaker 06

Club 11 is for Branson and LaShim, brother.

• 2:21:49Speaker 04

No disrespect to Cam'ron, Jim Jones, and Jules and nobody. They made history. It's no, I love Dipset, I love D Block. We made history. It's no, niggas just back and forth. It's internet shit until it get real, if it get real, you know. But we done shot 97, nigga, so I hope they don't want it to get real. You know what I'm saying? So.

• 2:22:09Mark Gagnon?

That shit really happened, so it's crazy.

• 2:22:12Speaker 04

So what I'm saying to him is, I don't know, nobody, but he's saying have a concert with Dipset and G-Unit, right? Correct?

• 2:22:18Speaker 03

  Yeah.

• 2:22:19Speaker 04

None of us or them make a million dollars a show.

• 2:22:22Speaker 03

So, so there's a certain amount of money that a concert can create?

• 2:22:26Mark Gagnon?

  Yeah.

• 2:22:27Speaker 03

And there's a certain amount of money that it's gonna take for 50 to do a concert, so you just gotta run the numbers. So he's not gonna cut his check.

• 2:22:34Speaker 04

He don't, he don't understand. He don't, he just don't get it.

• 2:22:36Mark Gagnon?

I'm asking as a music fan, as a fan of music.

• 2:22:40Speaker 04

If I say to him, look, yo, I don't know if Jay-Z could do 103 dates by himself without Beyonce for Live Nation, even though he's a part of Live Nation. He don't understand business. I say, yo, oh, Rick Ross? Yeah, Rick Ross definitely can't do 103 dates on Live Nation. Yeah, yo, definitely. I can't do it either. Murder us, yeah, cuz it's reality, nigga.

• 2:22:59Speaker 03

Right. I mean, you are talking, you are talking about like a handful of people.

• 2:23:03Speaker 04

  It's a handful of people.

• 2:23:04Speaker 03

Not just rappers, just musicians on the planet that could do it. It's like, it's a very.

• 2:23:08Speaker 04

Dennis' first one, right? With Live Nation. What they giving? 50 mil, something, maybe something like that?

• 2:23:12Mark Gagnon?

  Yeah.

• 2:23:12Speaker 04

Come on, bro. It's not, it's a handful of people that's doing Live Nation tours.

• 2:23:17Mark Gagnon?

I'm sorry, I'm a fan of music and I would love to see you too.

• 2:23:20Speaker 04

But you don't understand the music. You're like, yo, how can I do, you just like telling, yo, Michael Jackson to do a tour with Jim Jones or somebody.

• 2:23:28Mark Gagnon?

  No.

• 2:23:29Speaker 04

  That's no disrespect.

• 2:23:30Mark Gagnon?

  That's crazy.

• 2:23:31Speaker 04

That is crazy, my nigga. A nigga getting a million a show, one nigga getting on me. Like, you getting ten thou- ten thousand a show.

• 2:23:38Mark Gagnon?

  Right, right.

• 2:23:39Speaker 04

You know what I'm saying? Like, it's, it's a big difference.

• 2:23:42Mark Gagnon?

Right, right, right. There's only certain amount of money that you can generate.

• 2:23:45Speaker 04

That's why I'm talking about the nails and everything. I wouldn't go in a business and start talking about hip-hop, because some people's gonna be biased. They like, fuck, he know about fucking music and shit.

• 2:23:55Mark Gagnon?

  Alright.

• 2:23:59Mark Gagnon?

  Fuck, yeah, that's nothing, nigga.

• 2:24:01Speaker 03

I mean, this is perfect. Seeing your friend get roasted by Ayo is the greatest thing ever.

• 2:24:04Speaker 04

It's not even a roast. This is why I hate the issue.

• 2:24:08Speaker 04

This is why you fell with PETA and Tia. No, this is why I hate the issue.

• 2:24:16Speaker 04

Look, see what I'm saying? No motherfuckers ain't gonna talk about that Epstein shit.

• 2:24:20Speaker 04

That's, that's why I'm glad I kept it straight. I never went to a P Diddy party, nothing weird. I just kept it straight, because I don't, I would hate to be in one of them pictures.

• 2:24:27Mark Gagnon?

  Oh, bro.

• 2:24:28Speaker 04

  In a picture like, yo.

• 2:24:29Mark Gagnon?

  Yeah.

• 2:24:30Speaker 04

Know what I'm saying? Niggas had the Mayan pictures. Nah, that shit is crazy.

• 2:24:33Mark Gagnon?

  Ain't that crazy?

• 2:24:34Speaker 04

But it's internet. He scared to talk about shit like that, because I'm for harmony. We the real report, nigga. We don't give a fuck about that.

• 2:24:42Speaker 04

We hired security and bulletproof trucks.

• 2:24:45Mark Gagnon?

I'm gonna be the first person to subscribe to your podcast.

• 2:24:48Speaker 04

  I'm not political, I don't care.

• 2:24:49Mark Gagnon?

  Yes, I wanna hear that.

• 2:24:51Speaker 03

Is there a time, is there a time in your life where you guys are gonna be like, alright, I don't wanna deal with the stress of beef anymore. I just wanna enjoy my life.

• 2:24:59Speaker 04

You know why it's no stress? Because I'm not where rappers are. So, see, 50's on another level. We're, I say 50, so when we do shows with him, we're in Morocco. You ain't gonna, it's like, we like the first, where was the first rapper to perform at?

• 2:25:13Speaker 06

  Damn, where Kim Kardashian from?

• 2:25:14Mark Gagnon?

  Armenia.

• 2:25:15Speaker 06

Armenia. We the first, you can look it up, we was the first actually rappers to perform in Armenia.

• 2:25:19Speaker 04

Like, performance. Kanye rapped by the pond or the lake or something like that.

• 2:25:23Speaker 06

No, he didn't even rap. He didn't even rap. He was just there. We was actually the first rappers to perform in Armenia.

• 2:25:29Speaker 04

Like, we was, like, I remember being in the studio with Kanye, and he's in 50 years. We like, yo, I'm like, who's this nigga fifth? I don't know. And it was Kanye West. We was going to radio on Ludacris before, oh shit, I'm not doing radio. I seen a lot of niggas blow, like, out of here.

• 2:25:48Mark Gagnon?

  Pause.

• 2:25:48Speaker 04

  Like Rihanna.

• 2:25:49Mark Gagnon?

  See, I'm like, yo.

• 2:25:51Speaker 06

  What's my man name again?

• 2:25:52Speaker 04

  Joey.

• 2:25:54Speaker 06

Yeah. So he pull up the facts? You know what I'm saying? The first motherfuckers to perform in our media, nigga.

• 2:26:00Speaker 04

You gotta have your facts. Worldwide tour, Greenlight gang. A lot of your favorite rappers can't do what 50 did. So when you say, I love her Jay-Z career. Jay-Z can't do that. Maybe with Beyonce, no disrespect. He's big, but.

• 2:26:15Mark Gagnon?

You can't disrespect a nigga and then just add no disrespect right after.

So you want me to be a dick ride? You just want me to do what everybody in the industry do? Dick ride? I'm not here for that. You know, and you know why we win? It's not big. I don't want to hang around rappers. I don't want to be around them. I don't care, because I know it's all fake business. Most rappers get stabbed in the back. Most people in positions, that's why 50 and everybody so guarded. Because you help everybody. You help the actors, you help Meach turn into actor. You help Yeho, you help, you help Buck. You, you, you help, you pay a bell money. People turn their back on you. Bored niggas cars, they crash your cars now. Oh, you talking shit about you and they crash your car. Motherfuckers steal money. Shit, watches is missing. Anything, this is how it is being an artist. That's why artists are guarded. Because somebody's always, then you got lawsuits. Motherfucker was your friend, now he want to talk about you, your assistant.

• 2:27:04Speaker 04

• 2:28:48Speaker 01

Now, more than ever, we need someone on our side. But Rob Whitman? Whitman's votes drove up costs, cut Medicaid, and risked 350,000 Virginians' health care to pay for tax breaks for himself and his donors. He's not on our side. Shannon Taylor will fight corruption, cut taxes, and bring down costs. This November, vote for Shannon Taylor. She's for us. Paid for by HMP, the HouseMajorityPac.com. Not authorized by any candidate or candidate's committee.
