Hey Discos. Need a little more DisgraceLand in your life? Just a touch to get you through? Yeah, me too. This is the podcast that comes after the podcast. Welcome to DisgraceLand, the after-party.

• 2:41Jake Brennan?

Welcome to the DisgraceLand bonus episode, a little thing we like to call the after-party. This is the show after the show, the party after the party, the bridge to get you from one full episode of DisgraceLand to the other, the backyard to dig into the dirt. On this bonus episode, we are talking about this week's full-episode subject, Sid Vicious, Sean, Diddy Combs, and Jay-Z. We've got an update for you. We're getting into the next two episodes that are hitting your feed in honor of the Academy Awards that are coming up. First, Dorothy Stratton, and then our part-two episode on Martin Scorsese. And we get into your voicemails, texts, DMs, emails, and as always, a whole lot of Rosie. All right, Discos, let's get into it.

• 3:31Jake Brennan?

All right, so just imagine we're not sitting here in February. We're not blanketed in snow. We're not freezing our butts off. Imagine it's the summer. It's summer 2025. There's a worldwide cooling in temperature. It's perfect weather everywhere. It's 72 and sunny. There's no humidity. At the beach this morning, you pulled a perfect pearl from an oyster. It was your second pearl on what seems like an endless vacation. There's peace in the Middle East at home. Here in America, there's consensus among voters and our leaders on the direction the country's to follow. Morrissey and Johnny Marr, they've reunited. The Smiths, as have Jack and Meg White, the White Stripes. Both bands are on tour right now, and tickets are only $20 each. There are no additional fees even, okay?

• 4:13Jake Brennan?

Congress has passed the "Buck Stops Here" bill, a bipartisan piece of legislation that makes it illegal to charge more than $1 for a hot dog, a coffee, or a glass of cheap beer. And Sean "Diddy" Combs has just been convicted of sex trafficking, racketeering, conspiracy and transportation to engage in prostitution. The evidence against Diddy, numerous videotapes showing him committing unthinkable sex crimes against his victims while being cheered on by other complicit A-list celebrities, is so damning that he's given the maximum sentence, 100 years, plus life in a federal prison where he will spend all of the rest of his breathing moments. You want all of these things to happen, sure, but that doesn't mean that they will, okay?

• 4:58Jake Brennan?

We didn't get justice for Sid Vicious's death. You can hear all about that in this week's full episode of Disgraceant. And this past week, we learned that the case against Jay-Z was thrown out. And that got me thinking, what in the hell is actually going to happen with this upcoming Sean "Diddy" Combs trial? Do we think Combs is guilty? That's a tough question. We've talked about it a bunch here and, you know, we have evolving opinions on this, all right? Combs has been indicted and legally accused in multiple cases, criminal and civil, of sexual assault, abuse and sex trafficking. Sean "Diddy" Combs denies all of these charges. Now, in the court of public opinion, Combs has also been accused of a lot of other things, okay?

• 5:41Jake Brennan?

Of grooming, of running a large-scale celebrity blackmail operation, and even of murder. Over on TikTok, with one quick search, you can find numerous videos accusing Sean "Diddy" Combs of murdering his ex-wife, Kim Porter, of conspiring with Jay-Z to have so-called Becky with the good hair, to have her offed. There are those who accuse Sean Combs of having something to do with the deaths of Andre Harrell and Heavy D, even Aaliyah and Whitney Houston. TikTok conspiracy theories about Sean Combs, however, they do not stop there. The hip-hop mogul is not only accused of sexually grooming underage pop stars, Usher at the time, and Justin Bieber also at the time.

• 6:26Jake Brennan?

But you can hear and you can watch on TikTok AI Sean Combs. You can see this artificial intelligence content. You can, how do we refer to that? AI content? Doesn't sound right. Anyways, it's AI generated content depicting Combs raping and abusing Meek Mill, Bad Bunny and that fat dude from Family Matters, the dad. Not only are you going to get this deep fake content over on TikTok, again, audio and video, you're going to get testimony from members of Sean Combs' inner circle. All right, mostly bodyguards and such testifying on video corroborating these wild conspiracy theories.

• 7:10Jake Brennan?

Now, to my knowledge, Sean Diddy Combs hasn't dignified these rumors. These, the wildest of these rumors were the response and he certainly hasn't admitted guilt in any way. And I am in no way suggesting that he is culpable for the wildest of these conspiracies that are being charged against Combs. So far, other than the actual video we have showing Sean Diddy Combs viciously beating on his ex-girlfriend, Cassie Ventura, who, let's remind ourselves, accused Combs of abuse. Combs denied it and then he settled with Cassie for $30 million a day later. And then he denied all the subsequent abuse charges that were brought against him after that, charged by Rodney Little Rod Jones and others.

• 7:52Jake Brennan?

And then we saw, and then we saw the video of Combs beating Cassie that not only proved that Combs was an abuser, but it was also a proof that he is a liar or was a liar, that he lied about it. Okay. So aside from that evidence, however, nothing has leaked, no other evidence has leaked. There's been zero other evidence proving Sean Combs is guilty in any of these seedier, more outrageous TikTok conspiracy theories, which brings me to Jay-Z. Jay-Z is wrapped up with Sean Combs and a lot of these conspiracy theories as well over on TikTok. And the civil case against Jay-Z that was just thrown out last week, a couple of days ago, had a lot to do with Sean Combs. Okay. But poof, it's gone. Why?

• 8:33Jake Brennan?

We don't really fully know yet officially because of quote unquote inconsistencies with the accuser's account. And I'm betting there was also a lack of evidence here.

• 8:45Jake Brennan?

But that case is dead. Jay-Z free and clear. How does this relate to Sean Diddy Combs? So what we have to ask ourselves is the actual evidence against Sean Diddy Combs. What is there that is going to prevent Sean Diddy Combs and his case from going poof, the way that Jay-Z's did? How consistent are the accounts from Sean Diddy Combs' accusers? How consistent are those accounts going to be on the stand? Let's cut to the chase. What I believe that most people want, and maybe this is just because I'm fucked up and I'm being cynical here, but what I believe that most people want is they want Sean Diddy Combs to be found guilty of not only everything

• 9:27Jake Brennan?

that he's accused of legally in that federal indictment, but also of everything that he's accused of on TikTok. I think there's a burning appetite in this country. After years of injustice, particularly around the Jeffrey Epstein case, there's a yearning for justice when it comes to powerful people, particularly famous people who have abused their power or who we believe to have abused their power. And I believe that most people want these atrocious conspiracy theories to be true and that they want Diddy to be found guilty and they want all of his celebrity friends to be found guilty too. LeBron and Kevin, Oprah and Gail and Ellen and Ashton and even the Donald, they're all on tape, right? They all gonna burn alongside Diddy. Am I one of these people? I don't know. Some

• 10:09Jake Brennan?

days. Sometimes I want the most entertaining outcome to be true, just out of pure selfishness. The caveman part of me, I guess, wants some vengeance, but I try to keep that instinct pretty tamped down for the most part. You know, ultimately, more than anything, I don't want these stories, the crazy conspiracy TikTok theory, I don't want any of it to be true. You know, I actually think that the best outcome is that Sean Diddy Combs is actually innocent of what he's being accused of because then there's no victims, then there's no collateral damage. Do I think that's gonna happen? No. Do I think he's guilty of what he's being accused of on TikTok of all these wild conspiracy theories?

• 10:51Jake Brennan?

Do I think that he's going to be convicted of, that we're gonna find out factually that he did these things and that he's gonna go to jail for them, as I teed up at the beginning of this episode? I don't think so. That said, I'm not naive.

• 11:06Jake Brennan?

Where there's smoke, there's fire. But we have to look at the facts, especially in light of this Jay-Z case being dismissed, again, on account of inconsistencies with the accuser's account and likely lack of evidence. How strong is the evidence against Sean "Diddy" Combs? We don't know. Okay? But we've heard nothing about evidence that the feds have, that his legal accusers have. We've heard nothing in the way of real evidence. I'm not talking, again, I'm not talking about the TikTok accusations. We've heard nothing and we've seen nothing that supports any of those TikTok conspiracy theories. Nothing.

• 11:51Jake Brennan?

All right? All we know for sure is the following. Sean "Diddy" Combs is in jail, awaiting trial. The feds, his accusers, believe in this case. They brought the case. The judge believes Combs is too big a threat to be let out on bail. We don't know what the evidence is. We can only assume it supports the sexual assault, the abuse, the sex trafficking and the RICO charges that the federal government is charging him with. As of yet, as of late, no other high-profile friends of Sean Combs' have been legally accused, except for Jay-Z, who had the case thrown out, again, for inconsistencies from his accuser.

• 12:32Jake Brennan?

Is Sean "Diddy" Combs going to be found guilty when he stands trial in two months? I don't know. Do I think we're going to get earth-shattering evidence that incriminates not only Combs, but also his A-list celebrity friends in crimes that are unspeakable in most places, except for the dark corners of TikTok? At this point, judging by what went down with the Jay-Z case and giving that there's been no, again, there's been no other actual evidence released or leaked to suggest otherwise, I really don't think so. However, this is still America and just like Sean Diddy Combs maintains his right to plead the fifth so as not to incriminate himself, I maintain the right to change my mind should new evidence arise. I'm not a dumbass, but this is where I'm at at the moment. This Jay-Z

• 13:17Jake Brennan?

thing threw me. I did not see this coming. I did not see this thing getting thrown out. So that's where we're at. I haven't done a Diddy update in a while. That's the Diddy update. Um, you know, again, out here throwing it at you guys because of the Jay-Z news. Thought I should bring it up. It's definitely changed, adjusting the way that I'm thinking. It's definitely affecting the way that I'm thinking, I should say, but I'm interested to know what you guys think. All right. So hit me up and let me know. What do you think's gonna happen here with Sean Combs? Now, I mentioned it at the top of the show, the injustice surrounding Sid Vicious's death. We got into that in this week's full episode on Sid and Nancy, a classic love kills episode of Disgrace Land that we brought back for Valentine's Day. Now, the Oscars, they're coming up and with it being Valentine's Day, still the

• 13:59Jake Brennan?

Valentine's Day season, I guess, we have another wild love kills themed story. But again, because the Oscars are coming, uh, this love kills themed episode comes from Hollywood. It's on Dorothy Stratton. Now, if you do not know who Dorothy Stratton is, do not let that stop you from listening. Dorothy was the next big thing. A true beauty, a perfect 10, a dime spot, a woman so gorgeous. Playboy's Hugh Hefner called her the next Marilyn Monroe. All right. That was the promise of Dorothy Stratton's burgeoning Hollywood career. And then it all ended quickly, violently and disastrously. And I'm not going to spoil it, but let's just say that this story is so compelling. It's inspired multiple films,

• 14:42Jake Brennan?

including by the great Bob Fosse, his excellent Star 80 with Eric Roberts. It also multiple songs like the Red Hot Chili Peppers Californication, Bryan Adams's Cuts Like A Knife. So, check out this episode on Dorothy Stratton. And then, and then, and then, and then, the following episode, before we talk again in the next after party, you're gonna get another episode. That's coming on Tuesday. It's Oscar themed as well. It is the wild story about the murder that director Martin Scorsese did not commit. The murder Martin Scorsese needed his friends, Steven Spielberg and others to talk him out of on one legendary Hollywood night. This might be my favorite episode yet. Might be my favorite episode that I've written.

• 15:27Jake Brennan?

Okay, I love it that much and I cannot wait for you to hear it. I've wanted to tell this one for a while. This story is legendary in Hollywood. It was rumored to be true forever, but it wasn't confirmed. Quentin Tarantino would speak about it from time to time. And then in 2014, I believe Scorsese and Spielberg appeared together and confirmed it. It's a vicious story of violence and creative obsession and artistic commitment. It involves some of the greatest directors, not only of the seventies, but just from Hollywood history in general. When you're listening to it, I want you to be thinking of this. Who is your favorite filmmaker and why? Which director? Martin Scorsese, Steven Spielberg, Brian De Palma, any of the guys from this episode?

• 16:11Jake Brennan?

This episode, guys, it's like, remember the Muppet Babies? It's like Muppet Babies for awesome Hollywood directors. This is about Scorsese, Spielberg, Brian De Palma, John Millius, Paul Schrader, when they're all just, you know, coming up in the seventies. It's like their origin story in a way. That's the backdrop anyways. It's really solely about Martin Scorsese, but all these guys are characters in it. And it just begs the question, the question that I want you to be thinking about when you're listening to this episode, which is which director slash filmmaker makes the movies that resonate most with you and why? I want to know. Let me know, 617-906-6638, voicemail and text at disgracelandpod on the socials.

• 16:53Jake Brennan?

That's going to be the question of the week next week, relative to our episode on Martin Scorsese coming this Tuesday, however, but before that, you're getting that Dorothy Stratton episode. Don't forget that. I'm going to be back in a flash with the answers to last week's question of the week right after this.

Wanted to update you on how we're going to be doing this in the future. Slight, slight, slight change. We're going forward. All right. 617-906-6638 to leave me a voicemail, send me a text. You can also reach me at @disgraceland on Instagram, Facebook, and X. Relative to this week's episode on Sid and Nancy, we asked the question, which celebrity couples were the most toxic? And this is what we heard back from you guys. AD on Instagram writes, "Hey, hi Jake. AD from the 410. With my contribution for the worst rock and roll couple, which rock and roll couple could possibly be worse than

• 21:15Jake Brennan?

the ultra cringey couple of Jerry Lee Lewis and his 13-year-old cousin, Myra Gale?" Hard to fault Myra Gale on this whole thing. Not that you're doing that 410, but you know, she was 13. And whew, what a whirlwind that stirred up. I hear you. Great one. And you know, awesome for us to be able to call back to our Jerry Lee Lewis episode. You guys can check that out. That's in the archive. If you have not heard it yet, that is the very first episode of Disgrace Land. Chris Hellman on Spotify chimes in on this topic, writing, "Hey Jake, didn't know much about this story, but OMG crazy. I mean Sid beats the murder rap for Killing Nancy and then his mother basically..." Well, I'm not going to give it away for you guys here. "Didn't see this coming at all. Awesome episode. Love.

• 22:00Jake Brennan?

Definitely kills. As for worst rock and roll couples, my pick is Pam and Tommy. Love this podcast." Chris and everyone else, I've long wanted to do a Pam and Tommy episode, and maybe that's in the future. There's so much. So I did a Motley Crue episode. There's so much more there, though, and a Pam and Tommy episode might be a way in. All right, let's hear from the 540 on Sid and Nancy.

• 22:25Speaker 06

Hey Jake, this is Justin from the 540. Um, I just finished listening to the Sid and Nancy episode. I've only listened to that thing like four times probably, but that is some of your best work. That is amazing. I don't know, man. It's just the way you tell the story comes across so vividly and so, I mean, the utter despair and grit and grime of 1970s London, 1970s New York. It was all just, you know, a complete shit show. But they had

• 23:10Speaker 06

some of the best music in the whole damn world. And that's what makes it all right. But I appreciate your storytelling, man. I like that story. Rock and roll.

• 23:20Jake Brennan?

Justin, thanks for your voicemail, man. Happy you're digging the grime and the crime, the Sid and the Nancy story. Appreciate your calling. Appreciate your listening. 617-906-6638. I talked last week a little bit about, um, and I think I did it in only in the, yeah, I did. I did the recommendations in the exclusive portion of the after-party. Um, so you guys missed out if you're not All-Access members, but I gave some Valentine's recommendations. And one of them, I won't, I'll share it now because Valentine's Day has passed for the most part. I mean, I mean, those, still some of us celebrating, you know, for the lovers out there. I recommended Rocky as one of my favorite love stories. And 828 writes in,

• 24:05Jake Brennan?

"Hey Jake, I could not agree with you more on the Rocky love story. When I proposed to my wife, I used Rocky's proposal to Adrian, voice and all. It was awesome. Peace." Lee in the 412. Lee, that is some serious Rocky commitment there. Proposing to your wife. "Is this a Stallone boy there? You want to get married or what?" Okay, let's see. What else we got here? All right, more on Prince versus Michael Jackson. This one won't die. 302 writes in, "I will die on the hill of not being able to compare Prince and Michael Jackson." Sure, they were of the same time. Sure, they benefited from MTV, but what they did was colossally different. MJ was a pop singer and dancer. Prince was a musician. He played the instruments and all styles of music. He was pop, rock, soul, funk, jazz, blues,

• 24:48Jake Brennan?

and sprinkled gospel and even did at least one rap. Their styles as musicians were hugely different. Okay, their styles weren't that different. I mean, come on. You're really, really nitpicking here, I think, to say that Prince and Michael Jackson's styles were, did you say colossally different? Hugely different? Um, yeah, man, I don't know. I feel like this is like saying you can't compare Pedro Martinez to Manny Ramirez because one guy was a pitcher and the other guy was a hitter. They both played during the same time. They both contributed to the game at the same time. Who would you rather have on your team type of thing, right? You know what I'm saying? I don't know. Maybe I'm wrong. Maybe I'm

• 25:28Jake Brennan?

in the wrong. I like, you know, I like this. I like this one. Prince versus Michael Jackson. You guys like it too. Keep it coming. All right. This one comes from the 323. Hey, man. Spike here from Hollywood. I just wanted to say thank you for your show. I was raised on rock and roll. Mom's a hippie. Dad was a biker. And growing up, my father used to tell me stories about all the rock stars we loved. Janis, Jimmy, Mick, Keith, David, Iggy, Lou, Courtney Curtis, et cetera. Stories about all the messed up shit they did and whether they survived or didn't. It was basically the premise of your podcast. Anyway, my father died three years ago and I just wanted to say thank you for keeping that part of him alive for me. Feels like I'm with him when I listen to your show. P.S. If you can give a shout out to my cat Bam Bam, he would very much appreciate that. Thanks

• 26:12Jake Brennan?

Appreciate the text. 617-906-6638. You guys want to hit me up. Voicemail and text. Next week's question of the week. This week's story of the week is extra special because it entails our Sid and Nancy episode, and it comes from a gentleman named Knox Bronson. Hey Jake, let me first say how much I enjoy DisgraceLand. I love every single episode. I just listened to your Sid Vicious podcast and I wanted to share something with you. 20 years ago or so, I read a blog post by Dawn Eden telling the story of when, as a young woman, she was hanging out in Washington Square Park and met a junkie named John Spacely. John Spacely told her that if she would loan him $10, he would tell her

who really killed Nancy Spungen. He told her who the real murderer was. But the reader of this blog post, me, had to write to her to see who it was. So naturally I did. And again, guys, this is Knox Bronson saying me, not me. The story of the week goes on, the email goes on. At the time, she was an ex-party girl turned Christian blogger. We had a short correspondence. I shared my own John Spacely stories. She has since turned into a fairly successful author. So the emailer goes on to say, "50 years ago or more, I knew John Spacely in Berkeley, California. He was always a character. He moved to LA at some point. When David Bowie took his Diamond Dogs tour to Los Angeles in 1974,

a bunch of us flew down to see the show, staying at the Continental Hyatt. I think some of the details of the 70s are foggy. Anyway, Spacely and I, and a couple of other people, were drinking in the bar the morning of the show and decided at 11 a.m. to go up to Spacely's room and drink some more. We got on the elevator and Iggy Pop was standing at the back, chin on his chest. Spacely said, 'Hey Jim, how's it going?' Iggy shook his head and grunted something. And Spacely said, 'You been doing drugs?' Same response. 'You been drinking?' Same response. So Spacely invited Iggy up to his room and we all went there and had a few beers or whatever. And I doubt Iggy remembers, but I'll never forget it. John Spacely was a cool guy. It's really too bad the needle got him.'" Here's a promo

of the movie he was in. Okay, so there's a lot more here. Goes on to say that Spacely was briefly the publisher of Punk Magazine until the drugs took him over. Anyways, he finishes the story by saying that John Spacely told the blogger Dawn Eden that Sid Vicious was innocent, and it was Sid and Nancy's drug dealer who killed Nancy while she was knotted off. Could it be? Again, Knox Bronson Knox. Thank you very much. This story jives somewhat with the story that I've long since heard. People have been actually writing this on, commenting publicly on our recent Instagram post on Sid Vicious about who, who really killed Nancy. Our episode

• 31:03Jake Brennan?

deals more with who killed Sid. But there's, there's long been rumors that it was a drug dealer, perhaps another junkie. I'm not going to get into their names here, but if you want to go on to my Instagram account and you can just look through the content there and you can see who people are naming. There's one name that keeps coming up. I have not heard John Spacely's name before here. I'm not saying that John Spacely had anything to do with this. I'm not trying to represent Don Eden's commentary as being the truth here, but I think it's interesting because one of the conspiracy involves a name that some of you will recognize and a nameless junkie. John Spacely could very well be that

• 31:43Jake Brennan?

nameless junkie. I don't know. But this story, the, the death of Nancy Spongen and how she actually died, probably deserves some more investigation. Anyway, Knox, thanks for your email. We appreciate it. Thanks for the story of the week. If you would like your story of the week featured in next week's episode of Disgrace and hit me up, email me disgraced and pod at gmail.com. Sometimes I even send out a book if I'm feeling in the mood. And yes, I sign it. Okay. So Christina Tucker on Spotify writes on reaction to the Louis Armstrong episode from last week, best episode yet phenomenal research and excellent commentary. Thanks for the name drops. Personally, I love going down history rabbit holes. You got it, Christina. Thanks for the review. M K E 219 over on Apple podcasts writes, this is a top shelf show, five stars. I've been listening to disgraced and for a few months now, and it's only now. Now, it just occurred to me what Jake's real superpower is. The show is well-written and produced. It's the perfect length and the topics are varied, but where Jake really shines is in his ability to make musicians and genres I'd normally not give a second

• 33:09Jake Brennan?

chance come to life and be interesting in a way that I'd not thought possible. If you have even a passing interest in music, this show is for you. MKE219, thank you very much. I read your review to remind everybody here listening, you may not know who Dorothy Stratton is, you may not have known what Starr 80 was, or Eric Roberts, or Bob Fosse, or Hugh Hefner, or any of that, but you're gonna want to listen to this episode coming up next in the feed. And same goes for Martin Scorsese. If by chance, you're just not a movie person, you don't know who Martin Scorsese is, I don't care. You're gonna want to listen to this episode. Don't take my word for it. Take MKE219, alright? He slash she, whomever is speaking the truth. This episode, guys, it's nearing its end, but

I like a story with a twist as much as anyone, but some of the best traditions don't have one. They just started and kept going. That's something that's great about Chateau St. Michelle. They've been leading Washington wine since nineteen sixty-seven with wines that are balanced, expressive, and easy to enjoy. Choosing the right bottle shouldn't feel complicated. It should be something you open with confidence every time. So for once, here's a story with no twist, just a good bottle. Redefine your rituals with Chateau St. Michelle.
