Carry These Around Like A Compass

Ryan talks about the vitality of remembering the four Stoic virtues, and launches the new 4 Virtues Pendant. The Four Virtues Pendant design, custom to Daily Stoic, was hand-sketched by Lewis Williams, an artist based in Brooklyn, NY. The mixed-metal pendants are handmade by Williams, who uses the ancient processes of carving into the wax and casting into brass and sterling silver and then sawing, engraving, hammering & soldering the metals with precision and care. Each pendant comes with a 24" sterling silver chain and is handcrafted using traditional techniques and only the finest materials. The front of the pendant features a custom-designed seal with four elements representing the Four Virtues: a lion (Courage), a man sprinkling water into a jug of wine (Temperance), a set of scales (Justice), and an owl (Wisdom). On the back, it says, “Acta Non Verba,” which is Latin for, “Actions, not words.” Learn more and get yours here!

No, we have not, and it's unlikely that we ever will. So memorize those four virtues, act on them, live on them. Tell everyone you meet about them and keep them close to your heart always.

And if you want to carry those four virtues around with you like a compass, well, that's what we created, the Four Virtues Pendant. I'm holding it in my hand right now. It's got the Daily Stoic Four Virtues Seal. Temperance, wisdom, courage, justice, right? Lion, that's courage. A man sprinkling water into a jug of wine, that's this ancient symbol for temperance. Set of scales, justice, and owl, the symbol of wisdom. And on the back, it says acta non verba, which is Latin for actions, not words, or words, not, or deeds, not words. I would love for you to check this out.

We worked with this awesome jeweler in Brooklyn to make these new pendants. I'm always trying to improve what we do at Daily Stoic. And I really reimagined what the pendants we have at Daily Stoic look like here. There's a new chain, a new pendant, new sterling silver. And it's really great. It's launching today. You can check it out at dailystoic.com/virtuespendant. Or you can just go to store.dailystoic.com and check it out. Also linked to it in today's show notes. I hope you check this out. I'm really proud of this one. And it's funny, they just came in. We had a little get together, actually for the Courage is Calling launch.

A bunch of people that bought books came out. We had this dinner here at the Painted Porch on Saturday, and the pendants had just come in. We had five or six of them and a bunch of the people that work for me, they all wanted one. My wife wanted one. And it was cool to see everyone start wearing them. And then this is mine. You can hear it there. I'm holding it in my hands. It just got an awesome weight to it. And I love this, you know, we had the Four Virtues coin in the store, but we added this acta non verba. It's not words, then to the back of the pendant, which I just think is the perfect message to go along with the four virtues. You don't just talk about the ideals. You don't just read about them. You try to live by them. You carry them around as a compass that guides you always. I hope you check it out.
