• 2:06H. Foley?

I was just close, I almost botched it.

• 2:11Speaker 03

  That was beautiful.

• 2:12H. Foley?

  That's how we intro, baby.

• 2:13Speaker 03

  Oh my gosh.

• 2:15H. Foley?

  Congratulations.

• 2:15Speaker 01

Yeah, and thank you for coming.

• 2:17H. Foley?

Can we just say, when you got in here, you're very humble, all that kind of stuff. You are the brightest burning star in the universe right now. You're aware of that, right? I don't know anybody that doesn't know you.

• 2:30Speaker 03

  Really?

• 2:30H. Foley?

Are you kidding me? Knock this off.

• 2:33Speaker 03

  I don't, I really, I mean, don't I say-

• 2:35H. Foley?

And lose the accent, we know you're British.

• 2:37Speaker 01

  Hello.

• 2:40Speaker 03

  I really don't feel that. I really don't.

• 2:43Speaker 01

  Well, that's good.

• 2:44Speaker 03

And I think it, I think because I didn't come up in LA or New York in the comedy scene, and I always think I'm like one of the little odd men out, and I think, nobody knows who I am.

• 2:54H. Foley?

The series, I led, the numbers on Netflix gotta be nuts. I mean, everybody, everybody's talking about that show. I'm being dead serious.

• 3:02Speaker 03

And I had to, it came out at the same time as The Hunting Wabs. So I was up against those girls that were killing boars in their panties and stuff.

• 3:11Speaker 01

That's hard to beat, I gotta be honest.

• 3:13Speaker 03

  That is hard to beat.

• 3:13H. Foley?

  Stuff competition.

• 3:14Speaker 01

That's sweep sweep TV right there, that's old school stuff.

• 3:17Speaker 03

I know, but thank you, I'm so glad it did well. I'm so glad, I think it would have devastated me if it didn't. Because I want things to do well, and I felt very vulnerable coming out.

• 3:29Speaker 01

  Sure.

• 3:30Speaker 03

So, just like this new special coming out, I'm scared to dance.

• 3:33Speaker 01

I know, what you share, what you, I mean, listen, you're one of the best, you're one of the best working right now, everything, you know.

• 3:39H. Foley?

  Everybody loves you.

• 3:40Speaker 01

Okay. I'm smitten as a kitten over here.

• 3:42Speaker 03

  Thank y'all, thank y'all.

• 3:44Speaker 01

  She's got that southern charm.

• 3:47Speaker 03

  Thank you, boys.

• 3:48H. Foley?

She came in with her coat on too, I love that.

• 3:50Speaker 03

Well, it's cold in here, it's cold, winter has come.

• 3:53Speaker 01

  Sure, so.

• 3:56Speaker 01

You're very, you have a little bit of, you know, you're very, you're very well put together, very classy, very-

• 4:01H. Foley?

Prim and proper, they would say.

• 4:02Speaker 01

Yes, deminair. Maybe that's just for guys, I don't know.

• 4:05Speaker 03

  Thank you.

• 4:05H. Foley?

What is the, what is the backstory? Give us the origin story, how you grew up.

• 4:09Speaker 03

  Okay.

• 4:10Speaker 01

  Tennessee gal.

• 4:11Speaker 03

  Tennessee, farming.

• 4:13Speaker 01

  Farming, what kind of farm?

• 4:15Speaker 03

Dark fire tobacco that makes Copenhagen and Sko.

• 4:19Speaker 01

  No.

• 4:20H. Foley?

  Well, thanks for coming in.

• 4:21Speaker 01

It's all the time we have today.

• 4:23H. Foley?

  Get out of here.

• 4:24Speaker 03

Yeah, my people were tobacco farmers, both sides, generations back.

• 4:29H. Foley?

  No kidding?

• 4:30Speaker 03

Mm-hmm. In middle Tennessee, on the Kentucky-Tennessee border, I was raised in a town of 500. I was always told 500. Now, I think it's 624.

• 4:40Speaker 01

  Things are going well.

• 4:42H. Foley?

  Baby boom.

• 4:42Speaker 03

Yeah, but I was born in Bowling Green. My dad was cutting meat at Kroger. And was a meat cutter. And that, like, at 22, 23 years old, then we moved back to our home place, where all of our people were. And, um, and ran a grocery store and had a meat processing plant. He ended up doing that and a farm.

• 5:03H. Foley?

  And the tobacco farm.

• 5:05Speaker 03

About a 100-acre tobacco farm. Uh-huh. And had a man that sharecropped. And, and he did alfalfa, corn, soybeans, but mostly dark-fired tobacco.

• 5:15H. Foley?

Man, that's a diverse combo right there. Alfalfa and long cut.

• 5:19Speaker 03

I know, and it was in this little bitty country town that's, but it's outside of Nashville. Like 35 miles northwest of Nashville, Tennessee. So there was, you know, we did ride into town.

• 5:31Speaker 01

  Yeah, yeah, yeah.

• 5:32Speaker 03

Yeah, of, we go the doctor and the mall.

• 5:35Speaker 01

  The doctor in the mall.

• 5:36Speaker 03

  The doctor and the mall.

• 5:37Speaker 01

The doctor and the mall. I wasn't sure how.

• 5:39H. Foley?

The doctor wasn't in the mall, was he?

• 5:41Speaker 03

No. I think they've shut that mall down that I grew up going to because they said people were shooting people.

• 5:49H. Foley?

  And medical malpractice.

• 5:50Speaker 01

She says that like she doesn't believe it. She's like, they said people were shooting people. I didn't see nothing. I didn't hear nothing.

• 5:56Speaker 03

But that was over where all the country music stars lived. So, country music, all those, Porter Wagner, Johnny Cash, all those kind of people, lived over in the area close to where I was raised. The Opry and all that.

• 6:10H. Foley?

  Pretty sweet.

• 6:11Speaker 03

Yeah, I would see people, you know, out and about.

• 6:14Speaker 01

  Really?

• 6:14Speaker 03

  Yeah.

• 6:14H. Foley?

Johnny Cash, you see him at the mall?

• 6:16Speaker 03

Porter Wagner at, at the mall, that closed down, but he's no longer with us. And then, um, Johnny Cash and June Carter Cash were at Sherwin-Williams buying paint.

• 6:28H. Foley?

  Get out of here.

• 6:28Speaker 03

  Yes.

• 6:30H. Foley?

  That's gotta be made up.

• 6:31Speaker 03

  Because, no, it's not.

• 6:33Speaker 01

But they weren't buying their own paint? They didn't have a paint guy?

• 6:37Speaker 03

That's how country music people are.

• 6:38H. Foley?

  I need an eggshell white.

• 6:42Speaker 01

Wow. I mean, what a go- we had- one of the questions that we, we ask is who's the most famous person you have ever met or saw and-

• 6:48H. Foley?

  Early on, like you know-

• 6:49Speaker 01

  Early on as a kid.

• 6:50H. Foley?

Like it would be like a local newscaster usually, but damn, Johnny Cash and June Carter.

• 6:53Speaker 01

  Buying paint.

• 6:54Speaker 03

And the Mandrell sisters. I don't know, y'all may be too young.

• 6:57H. Foley?

  I know the Mandrell sisters.

• 6:58Speaker 03

The Mandrell sisters, I saw them buying panties and bras at Dillard's.

• 7:02Speaker 01

  At Dillard's?

• 7:03Speaker 03

  At Dillard's.

• 7:04Speaker 01

  Uh huh.

• 7:05Speaker 03

  In Rivergate Mall.

• 7:07Speaker 01

That's a great mall name too, the Rivergate Mall. Is that the one that's closed, the Rivergate?

• 7:10Speaker 03

  They had to close it.

• 7:11H. Foley?

  Cause the shootings.

• 7:12Speaker 01

  Cause the shootings.

• 7:13Speaker 03

  Drive by shootings.

• 7:14Speaker 01

  Allegedly.

• 7:15H. Foley?

Drive by shootings. Alright, let's go back. So, you, you've all- your, your family has always had this farm, right?

• 7:23Speaker 03

  Yeah.

• 7:23H. Foley?

Okay, but somebody else worked- somebody else took care of it.

• 7:27Speaker 03

  Yes, but we-

• 7:27H. Foley?

So it was just kind of in the family?

• 7:28Speaker 03

Yeah, but we got, we got out there and worked in it some. I mean, I've, I've picked tobacco plants, I've dropped sticks, they call it. I've worked in tobacco fields.

• 7:38Speaker 01

  What's dropping sticks?

• 7:39Speaker 03

In the, in the rows where the, they chop the tobacco, lay it down. You lay down sticks, so then they pick a stick up, put the, the tobacco plant on it, then that's hung on a scaffolding and then that's taken to a barn and smoked.

• 7:54Speaker 01

  Okay.

• 7:55Speaker 03

Like a low fire beneath and cured. They, that's how they cure it.

• 7:59Speaker 01

  Huh.

• 8:00Speaker 03

  I know.

• 8:00H. Foley?

I didn't know it was smoke.

• 8:01Speaker 01

I didn't know that at all. As much tobacco as I consumed, I'd never knew, I never knew the process.

• 8:06Speaker 03

  Did you smoke cigarettes?

• 8:07Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 8:07Speaker 03

  I did too.

• 8:08H. Foley?

  Big heaters.

• 8:09Speaker 03

  I did too.

• 8:09Speaker 01

Well, how, what age did you start?

• 8:11Speaker 03

  I didn't start till I was like 19.

• 8:13Speaker 01

  Really?

• 8:13Speaker 03

  Which is stupid.

• 8:14H. Foley?

What's the brand? What were you smoking?

• 8:16Speaker 03

  Marlboro Light.

• 8:17H. Foley?

  Okay. A lady.

• 8:19Speaker 01

  How good is that?

• 8:19H. Foley?

  A lady.

• 8:20Speaker 03

  Love dumb. Love dumb.

• 8:21Speaker 01

Well, they were, they were, they were good when they were good.

• 8:24Speaker 03

They were good when they were good, but it was a monkey-

• 8:25Speaker 01

  They're not good anymore.

• 8:26Speaker 03

It, there was a monkey on my back.

• 8:28Speaker 01

  Amen.

• 8:29Speaker 03

And I'm thankful to get off of that and not be hooked on that.

• 8:33H. Foley?

I got six of them on me.

• 8:36H. Foley?

Alright, let's go back. So, you have the farm, but your dad was working at a, at a Kroger?

• 8:42Speaker 03

He was, and then my, my grandparents had a grocery store in that little town and farms. And farms on both sides. My mom's parents and they, and they said, would you come back and run this store? So my dad went back and ran the grocery store and it's, and it, this is how I'm timing. This is gonna sound like gun smoke. Okay.

• 9:02H. Foley?

He was also a bounty hunter.

• 9:05Speaker 03

You could, that, back then, farmers, you had a credit and you could just charge stuff and then you didn't have to pay for it until the, your crop came in.

• 9:13H. Foley?

  Wow, that's pretty sweet.

• 9:14Speaker 03

So, so it wasn't, you didn't make a lot of money. And so, but he, all these people started asking him to cut up their sides of beef, their cows and their hogs and all, and deer, the hunters and all that. So, um, he opened up a meat processing plant when I was in sixth grade that was very successful. Really? Well, it worked them like meals. I mean, it was hard labor, but, but they were-

• 9:38H. Foley?

Like, how big of an operation are we talking?

• 9:39Speaker 03

Well, I mean, my family worked in it. My grandpa, both grandfathers worked in it. Two aunts, high school kids, they'd hire them.

• 9:46H. Foley?

Like, would it be considered commercial?

• 9:48Speaker 03

No, it was for, it was like one of these like- I mean, getting grandparents in there.

• 9:51H. Foley?

  Okay.

• 9:52Speaker 03

But it was, everything was, um, you know, FD, what is it, when the government comes and-

• 9:57H. Foley?

  FDA approves?

• 9:58Speaker 03

Yeah, they come in and- I, I just assumed, we didn't have to clarify that. And inspect it, inspect it.

• 10:02H. Foley?

  All right, yeah.

• 10:04Speaker 03

It was very clean. It was very clean and up to standards. You got a thing with the law, you know, allegedly there was shootings.

• 10:11H. Foley?

It was all FDIC, all approved.

• 10:17Speaker 03

But, but we cut up people, farmers, their cows, all that. But people came from all over Kentucky and Tennessee and they stayed busy for twenty something years. That's great. And worked.

• 10:29H. Foley?

  I'm sorry.

• 10:29Speaker 03

  That's okay, my angel.

• 10:33H. Foley?

I just cut off a southern woman, I'm big meat. It's finally caught up to me. Where did you guys live? Where were you guys actually living? Where was the house?

• 10:41Speaker 03

The, the house was on, you know, it's three, two or three acres and that meat processing plant was up in the back of that, so we shared a driveway with that.

• 10:51H. Foley?

  Okay.

• 10:51Speaker 03

  So, I grew up.

• 10:56Speaker 03

So deer season, all these people kill deer. We didn't have enough space in those freezers because they had cows and so many deer in them or hogs or whatever. So if it was cold enough, they hang, they hung those deer in the trees until they could get to them.

• 11:11Speaker 01

  In your yard, essentially, yeah.

• 11:12Speaker 03

Yes. And my sister was in college trying to date, you know, key football players.

• 11:18Speaker 01

  City boys.

• 11:19Speaker 03

From other parts of the United States. Yes. And they, and she would be so embarrassed because there would be all these carcasses and stuff hanging. But I was proud of it.

• 11:27Speaker 01

  Good.

• 11:28Speaker 03

But I dated little farming boys.

• 11:30Speaker 01

  Country boys.

• 11:31Speaker 03

Yeah, and they were, and we cut up their peoples, mate.

• 11:33Speaker 01

  Yeah, it was normal.

• 11:34Speaker 03

So I was, I thought it was normal. It did not, and then we had all these dogs, stray dogs.

• 11:38Speaker 01

  All the meat.

• 11:39Speaker 03

So there would be, you know, a fat beagle with a deer leg in his, and I had a beagle that I ran over several times, but he was so fat.

• 11:49H. Foley?

  Ran him over?

• 11:50Speaker 03

He said, "I didn't mean to."

• 11:51H. Foley?

  In the car?

• 11:52Speaker 03

I did, yeah. I backed over him. I didn't mean to, but he leapt. I mean, he was so heavy that it would just go boom, and then he would get up.

• 11:59Speaker 01

I got one of them too, yeah. Huh. What?

• 12:03Speaker 03

  Country. I'm talking country.

• 12:07Speaker 01

  Country, okay.

• 12:08Speaker 03

  Very rural.

• 12:09Speaker 01

There's something about a fat beagle that just, I mean, anytime you see one, it's a good time.

• 12:13Speaker 03

  He looked like a stomp.

• 12:14H. Foley?

Comedy gold right there. Hey, he was co-starring in TV shows back in the day. A fat beagle. You always had a fat beagle in the show.

• 12:21Speaker 01

  Huh. Okay. Man.

• 12:24H. Foley?

  How many brothers and sisters?

• 12:25Speaker 03

  One sister.

• 12:26H. Foley?

  Just you and your sister?

• 12:27Speaker 03

  Uh huh.

• 12:28H. Foley?

  And your mom?

• 12:29Speaker 03

And she was, um, three and a half years older than me.

• 12:32H. Foley?

Okay. So it's you guys, it's you and your mom and your dad in the house?

• 12:35Speaker 03

  And my mom and daddy.

• 12:36H. Foley?

And how were you in school?

• 12:37Speaker 03

It was okay. I mean, I didn't care, y'all. I was gonna go to Hollywood, and I knew that from the time I was little.

• 12:45Speaker 01

  Really?

• 12:46Speaker 03

  Yeah.

• 12:47Speaker 01

What did you want to, was it acting or was it singing?

• 12:49Speaker 03

I wanted to be comedic actor.

• 12:51Speaker 01

  Really?

• 12:52Speaker 03

  Yeah.

• 12:53Speaker 01

  Look at that.

• 12:54Speaker 03

And so I remember just thinking, this is just a stop off. You know, I mean, I'm gonna have a good time, and then I'm outta here. And I, I mean, I could learn. But I just didn't care.

• 13:09Speaker 01

  Sure.

• 13:10Speaker 03

But I did okay, but, but I went to a little bitty country high school that was, I graduated forty-two people. And a lot of people came out and were in Future Farmers of America, and a lot of boys farmed. And then, um, but a lot of people went to college out of that little school, but, um, and there were some smart little children in there. But, um.

• 13:31Speaker 01

Did you attempt to go to college at all?

• 13:33Speaker 03

I went to college and graduated.

• 13:35H. Foley?

  Where'd you go?

• 13:36Speaker 03

  The University of Tennessee.

• 13:38H. Foley?

  Really?

• 13:38Speaker 03

  Yeah.

• 13:39H. Foley?

  That's awesome.

• 13:39Speaker 03

But it was a rocky road. It was a really rocky road, y'all. I was, and having a big, I mean, I was.

• 13:48Speaker 01

Does Marb Lights get to you?

• 13:50H. Foley?

  This is Knoxville.

• 13:51Speaker 03

I started waiting tables, and there were all those girls that had Louis Vuitton purses.

• 13:57Speaker 01

  Louis Vuitton purses?

• 13:58Speaker 03

From, from waiting tables that really didn't need to, but they were in college and they wanted a Louis Vuitton purse. And they would, and everybody would sneak and smoke to get a break.

• 14:06Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 14:06Speaker 03

Uh huh, and so I got on my head.

• 14:08Speaker 01

What was, uh, where were you, where were you waiting tables at?

• 14:12H. Foley?

Cause we were, we were down there. We were in Knoxville with Bert, remember? That was Tennessee.

• 14:17Speaker 03

  Bert Kreischer?

• 14:18Speaker 01

  Bert Kreischer, yeah.

• 14:19Speaker 03

  Where? At the Knoxville Civic?

• 14:21H. Foley?

  Yeah.

• 14:22Speaker 03

  Uh, Coliseum.

• 14:23H. Foley?

This was like, uh, I don't know, like a year and a half ago. We went to a fraternity party. That was University of Tennessee.

• 14:28Speaker 03

  Oh, that's right.

• 14:29Speaker 01

It was, it was. You're right. Yeah, we were the, yeah, you're, you're right.

• 14:32Speaker 03

I remember when, oh, yeah, I remember.

• 14:34H. Foley?

  Shout out to Volunteers.

• 14:35Speaker 03

  Yeah.

• 14:36Speaker 01

  We went for a night.

• 14:38Speaker 03

Yeah, it's a big SEC school.

• 14:40H. Foley?

  Yeah.

• 14:41Speaker 03

  Football, Pike Manning.

• 14:42Speaker 01

  I, yes, I remember now.

• 14:44Speaker 03

But yeah, I went and I dropped out for a little while, worked, and then went back, and then I finished.

• 14:50Speaker 01

  Okay.

• 14:51Speaker 03

And they, and I will never tell anybody what my GPA was.

• 14:55H. Foley?

I'll tell you what mine was.

• 14:56Speaker 03

  What was it?

• 14:58H. Foley?

  Point two.

• 15:00H. Foley?

  I swear to God.

• 15:02Speaker 01

Do you have one, and you don't have to tell us, do you have one that you say it was? Or do you go, oh, it was a 3.1? Do you have a fake one, or you just go, I'm not telling you?

• 15:11Speaker 03

No, I'm not telling, I'll go to my grave. I'll go to my grave with my ACT score, my children try to get it out of me, and when I've got the flu and stuff, and I'm hallucinating, and I go, you'll never know. And then, because I had a high school teacher that said to me, when he found out what my score was, he said, "You cannot get into the Indiana School of the Blind."

• 15:32Speaker 03

It was very funny. And then, but anyway, I got to UT, I graduated, and then UT honors me all the time, because I'm the only comedian that came out of there.

• 15:39Speaker 01

  Really?

• 15:40Speaker 03

  Except Paula B., Paula, um...

• 15:42Speaker 01

  Poundstone?

• 15:43Speaker 03

No, um, the woman that has written on Serenut Love and writes all those movies and stuff with Tina Fey and Amy Poehler. Paula.

• 15:51Speaker 01

See if you can get that, just do movie writer Paula, I'm telling you how to Google.

• 15:56H. Foley?

I can't think of it. Paula who?

• 16:00Speaker 03

  Yeah, Paula Pell.

• 16:01Speaker 01

  Well, you got her beat.

• 16:03H. Foley?

Yeah, what are you talking about?

• 16:05Speaker 01

I got the real queen over here.

• 16:07H. Foley?

When you say honored, do you get to go back and do like the commencement and all that kind of stuff?

• 16:10Speaker 03

Oh, they're giving me alumni of the year. I'm going to the ballgame on Saturday, and they're taking me down to the field.

• 16:15Speaker 01

Alumni of the year, does that cost you a check? You gotta write a check to be the alumni of the year, right?

• 16:20Speaker 03

  I didn't.

• 16:21Speaker 01

  You didn't?

• 16:21Speaker 03

Should I? I didn't. But I met my husband, Chuck Morgan there, and, um, he made straight A's and acted right. Uh-huh, he was coming back to get an MBA, and I was, I was dry...

• 16:38Speaker 01

  A little bit of cash!

• 16:39Speaker 03

I had made some horrible mistakes, and come back to school, you know, when men are attracted to women that have made horrible mistakes.

• 16:47Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 16:47Speaker 03

And he was, fell deeply in love with me. We were waiting tables together. Back then, he bought my cigarettes trying to woo me.

• 16:54Speaker 01

What, he liked them for you?

• 16:55Speaker 03

Then he later said that I smelled bad, and broke up with me.

• 16:58H. Foley?

  He did?

• 16:59Speaker 03

  He did.

• 17:00Speaker 01

And you got back with him after all that?

• 17:01H. Foley?

  He said you smelled bad?

• 17:01Speaker 03

He said, "All this cigarette, I can't take it."

• 17:06Speaker 03

And he broke up with me. I think it was something going on with him.

• 17:09Speaker 01

  Uh huh.

• 17:10Speaker 03

  And then

• 17:10Speaker 01

  Had to be.

• 17:11Speaker 03

Cam came back after me because he saw me working behind the Lancome counter at the mall, cosmetics.

• 17:17Speaker 01

  That's a good gig.

• 17:18Speaker 03

It was a good gig, except I had to learn, I had to try to learn that French.

• 17:23Speaker 01

  Yeah, that's right.

• 17:24Speaker 03

And I didn't know what those names were.

• 17:25Speaker 01

  Sure.

• 17:26Speaker 03

But, and I don't like to learn. Okay, and then, um, I had been to Fort Lauderdale. I'd gotten a tan on spring break and he saw me with a tan.

• 17:36Speaker 01

  Mm hmm.

• 17:37Speaker 03

  And then never

• 17:38Speaker 01

  This is still in college.

• 17:39Speaker 03

Uh huh. When I was finishing up the undergraduate that took me, you know, overtime like eight years.

• 17:46Speaker 01

  Really?

• 17:46Speaker 03

Well, in and out, you know, all that.

• 17:49Speaker 01

All that Fort Lauderdale time, you know what I mean?

• 17:51Speaker 03

  All that Fort Lauderdale time.

• 17:52Speaker 01

  Uh huh. Wow. Jeez.

• 17:55Speaker 03

Yeah. And then we married and then he, yeah, then, so I'm married to Chuck Morgan and I've got three children, two grandbabies.

• 18:00H. Foley?

Chuck Morgan? That's your husband's name?

• 18:02Speaker 03

  Yeah, Chuck Morgan.

• 18:03H. Foley?

  That's awesome.

• 18:04Speaker 01

Chuck Morgan. That's an alpha name.

• 18:07Speaker 03

Everybody's getting really attached about Chuck Morgan and everybody wants to meet him. And I'm making, I'm making him a star.

• 18:12Speaker 01

  Mm hmm.

• 18:13H. Foley?

  Can't much talk about Quo.

• 18:14Speaker 01

  Shout out to Quo.

• 18:15H. Foley?

  Formerly open phone.

• 18:17Speaker 01

  Mm hmm.

• 18:18H. Foley?

Let's talk about this, something that every business owner knows too well, missed calls.

• 18:22Speaker 01

  Jamie up, bad.

• 18:24H. Foley?

Missing a business call is what? Watching money fly out the goddamn door.

• 18:27Speaker 01

  Cash.

• 18:28H. Foley?

All right. We're talking about straight to your competitors' ends. That's why in today's day and age, you gotta have Quo, formerly open phone, the smarter way to run your business communications.

• 18:38Speaker 01

Yeah. Quo is the number one business phone system built for 2025, not 1995, like those other bozos out there who will not be named. Rated the top choice for customer satisfaction with over 3,000 reviews on G2. Quo works right from an app on your phone or your computer. Quo is offering our listeners 20% Of your first six months at quo.com/garbage. That's quo, Q-U-O dot com slash garbage.

  What does Chuck do?

• 20:57Speaker 03

Chuck is an executive at a company that he's worked for for 30 years.

• 21:02H. Foley?

  No kidding.

• 21:02Speaker 03

And he's president of a division. And it's manufacturing and housing.

• 21:07H. Foley?

  Man.

• 21:07Speaker 03

Of Berkshire Hathaway Warren Buffett Company.

• 21:09H. Foley?

Get out of here. Woo, you gotta go see Chuck Morgan.

• 21:12Speaker 01

  Haha.

• 21:13H. Foley?

Man. I'd hate to get called into his office.

• 21:16Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 21:16H. Foley?

Getting yelled at by Chuck. Probably lay in the.

• 21:18Speaker 03

He's really good to his employees and everybody cries over him and loves him.

• 21:22H. Foley?

  Aww.

• 21:23Speaker 03

But he can be a butthole at home.

• 21:24Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 21:25Speaker 03

  You know, a dad.

• 21:26H. Foley?

  Sure.

• 21:27Speaker 03

Yelling about who hasn't taken the garbage out, kind of dad.

• 21:31Speaker 01

Sure. Well, I mean, you know.

• 21:33H. Foley?

  I respect it.

• 21:33Speaker 01

He's earned that, I feel. You know what I mean?

• 21:35H. Foley?

  I respect it.

• 21:36Speaker 01

One of those kids should be doing that. Huh. Okay.

• 21:41Speaker 03

So, yes, Adams, Tennessee, and Little Bitty High School.

• 21:44H. Foley?

What was the first concert you went to?

• 21:47Speaker 03

Okay, y'all. Oh, I went to so many.

• 21:52Speaker 03

But as a baby, my sister was in love with Donny Osmond, so my parents took us to see the Osmond Brothers.

• 21:59H. Foley?

  Really?

• 21:59Speaker 03

And I could have cared less. I tried to dig them.

• 22:02H. Foley?

  That's big, though.

• 22:04Speaker 03

I was more of a... Then I went later to see the Ja... I saw the Jackson Five.

• 22:08H. Foley?

  Really?

• 22:09Speaker 03

Michael Jackson and the Ja... That whole album when they're doing that, remember that?

• 22:13H. Foley?

  Yeah.

• 22:14Speaker 03

  I went to that.

• 22:15H. Foley?

  Whoa, that's pretty good.

• 22:17Speaker 01

  That's great.

• 22:18Speaker 03

And not that I don't love Donny Osmond, God love him.

• 22:21Speaker 01

I don't think Donny's gonna hear this. Yeah, you're okay.

• 22:24H. Foley?

It's crazy how good those two still look. Donny and Marie Osmond, it's insane. I was in love with her when I was a kid.

• 22:31Speaker 03

  Were you?

• 22:32H. Foley?

  Yeah.

• 22:32Speaker 03

And I love that show. I love the Osmonds.

• 22:35H. Foley?

  The Osmond family.

• 22:36Speaker 03

And all that doing. You know, I tried to... I remember asking for an album of Jimmy, the little brother. Trying to, you know, just feel something.

• 22:50H. Foley?

  Something, anything.

• 22:51Speaker 03

  Yeah.

• 22:52H. Foley?

  Jimmy!

• 22:53Speaker 03

Remember little Jimmy? Yeah, he was not Merle Haggard.

• 22:56Speaker 01

  Oh, okay.

• 22:58H. Foley?

The Jackson Five, that's really good.

• 23:00Speaker 01

What was your first car? Your first car?

• 23:03Speaker 03

Um, I had a Monte Carlo.

• 23:06Speaker 01

  What?

• 23:07Speaker 03

  With T-tops.

• 23:08H. Foley?

  Whoa.

• 23:09Speaker 03

It was used, but it was cute. It was very cute.

• 23:12Speaker 01

And then my sister drove home and stole it.

• 23:15Speaker 03

  Okay, I was 16.

• 23:17Speaker 01

  16.

• 23:18Speaker 03

And my grandparents helped and got it with my parents and got it for me. And it was burgundy.

• 23:22H. Foley?

  Whoa. Burgundy Monte, that's alright.

• 23:26Speaker 03

  A 79.

• 23:28H. Foley?

  That thing's huge.

• 23:29Speaker 03

  And then...

• 23:29Speaker 01

That's why you kept running over that Beagle.

• 23:31Speaker 03

Let me tell you, though, I had an 81, newer, that was burgundy again, I don't know why that...

• 23:37H. Foley?

  A Monte Carlo as well?

• 23:39Speaker 03

  Uh-huh.

• 23:39H. Foley?

What's with you and the Monte Carlos?

• 23:40Speaker 03

She was... Somebody just... I didn't even pick it out. And then she was at Austin Peay, which was right down the road, that's where she went to college. Because that's in Clarksville, Tennessee, near 101st Airborne. The army base where the boys that flew in, the SEALs, that killed Uday and Kusa. Y'all remember that?

• 24:00Speaker 01

  What a pull.

• 24:02Speaker 03

  That's that...

• 24:03Speaker 01

  Man.

• 24:04Speaker 03

  That's... Those boys.

• 24:05Speaker 01

I did not know who you were gonna say. I would've... I wouldn't... A million choices, I would've never guessed Uday and Kusa.

• 24:12H. Foley?

I almost put my hand over my heart when he said that.

• 24:16Speaker 01

Almost an F-16 flyby when she said that. Oude and Cuse. Wow.

• 24:23Speaker 03

  Oude and Cuse.

• 24:25Speaker 01

That's such a southern. Them some bitches got what's coming to them. That's such a southern, that's where the boys, man.

• 24:31Speaker 03

That's the boys that flew them in, the bad mama jammers. And they put, you know that sign on the side of the road that flashes like merge here? They put, "Oude and Cuse are dead."

• 24:44Speaker 01

Thanks to our good boys at the 101.

• 24:47Speaker 03

At another mall, not the mall that got shut down, another mall. It was pointing and it said, "Oude and Cuse are dead."

• 24:55Speaker 01

  Oh man, that's awesome.

• 24:56Speaker 03

Yeah, but she went to Austin P, so she came home in the middle of the night and stole my first Monte Carlo that was the 81. She had the 79, switched them in the driveway and then just took off. And nobody said anything because they were scared of her. So then I drove the 79, but it was pretty cool. And it teetops.

• 25:17Speaker 01

That's really cool. Teetops on anything's cool.

• 25:20Speaker 03

Yeah. And that's what I ran over everybody in. Because nobody taught me how to drive. They were busy cutting meat. They said, "Let's take one run roll around the Methodist Church parking lot and then, yeah, get your license."

• 25:34Speaker 01

  Run and gun, yeah.

• 25:35H. Foley?

What was your first job, working on the farm, I would assume, at a younger age?

• 25:38Speaker 03

Yeah, I worked in the me, in farm, in the tobacco, as a little bit of can. I wasn't good help. But I thought it was cool and I would do it, but it was hot. And then, um...

• 25:50Speaker 01

She said it with her hands, it was hot, it's not for me.

• 25:52Speaker 03

And then I, um, I would do meat. When they needed help, my sister and I would wrap meat. That's not fun. It smells weird.

• 26:00Speaker 01

  I've done it.

• 26:01Speaker 03

  You have?

• 26:02Speaker 01

I'm not, I was never good at it. Yeah, yeah, yeah. It was tough.

• 26:05Speaker 03

Yeah, it's tough. It is tough, not fun. I wanted to work at Wendy's or something. So bad, I wanted to drive into town. It was like 20 minutes away and work at a fast food because everybody was starting to do that. But, but they needed me back home.

• 26:18Speaker 01

Yeah, you got a family business.

• 26:20H. Foley?

Was that your grocery store that you guys would go to? Your, your family one? Like to get stuff for the house?

• 26:24Speaker 03

No, by the time, not, not much because it wasn't big enough. It just had what you needed, but, but after we sold it, it didn't, they didn't keep a lot there. So we'd go into town.

• 26:35H. Foley?

  Okay.

• 26:36Speaker 03

Like Gunsmoke. So we'd go to either Springfield or Clarksville and do our main, Etta Kroger.

• 26:41Speaker 01

  Etta Kroger.

• 26:42H. Foley?

  Etta Kroger, it'd be Kroger.

• 26:43Speaker 03

  Mm-hmm.

• 26:43H. Foley?

  Okay.

• 26:44Speaker 01

And what were the family vacations like growing up?

• 26:48Speaker 03

We would go, we, they worked a lot. My dad worked a lot and my mama. But we would go to Florida, you know, every few years we'd go to the Smoky Mountains.

• 26:58Speaker 01

  Very nice.

• 26:59Speaker 03

Cause I'm, I'm very close. I now live like 30 minutes from the Smoky Mountains.

• 27:02Speaker 01

  Beautiful.

• 27:02Speaker 03

But I was, it is beautiful. But I was raised in Middle Tennessee. So that was, you know, kind of like five hours away. We would also, if we just needed a weekend getaway, we would go over into Kentucky, to Kentucky Lakes and go to the, um, State Park.

• 27:18Speaker 01

  Mm-hmm.

• 27:19Speaker 03

At the, at the motel, probably was a motel because they had an in-ground pool. That was a big deal.

• 27:24Speaker 01

  That's a big deal.

• 27:25Speaker 03

For country kids. And I used, we go, we would go to Owensboro or Paducah to this executive inn.

• 27:31Speaker 01

  Paducah.

• 27:32Speaker 03

That had a, that had a Paducah, Kentucky.

• 27:34Speaker 01

  Uh-huh.

• 27:34Speaker 03

That would have a, um, a buffet.

• 27:37H. Foley?

  Okay.

• 27:37Speaker 01

  Very nice.

• 27:38Speaker 03

  And an in-ground pool.

• 27:41H. Foley?

  Okay.

• 27:42Speaker 03

  Uh-huh.

• 27:42Speaker 01

  That's big.

• 27:43Speaker 03

Yeah. And I saw Kentucky Fried Chicken, the man that started that in his nineties. Colonel Sanders at the buffet in Owensboro, Kentucky.

• 27:53Speaker 01

He was, you're telling me Colonel Sanders was at the buffet?

• 27:56Speaker 03

  Yes.

• 27:57Speaker 01

  He's got all that chicken.

• 27:58H. Foley?

Wasn't this some old guy wearing a weird tie?

• 28:00Speaker 03

Yeah. He did. He looked just like what you would think. And that's a real man that started Kentucky Fried Chicken.

• 28:07Speaker 01

  That's a real.

• 28:10Speaker 01

  I never thought.

• 28:11H. Foley?

  I don't know the believer.

• 28:12Speaker 01

I know. I never thought anybody had to convince me that Colonel Sanders was a real man. I always assumed he was.

• 28:19Speaker 03

  Yeah.

• 28:20H. Foley?

Oh yeah, of course. He's a real guy.

• 28:21Speaker 01

  Yeah. Good chicken, good chicken.

• 28:23H. Foley?

  The past.

• 28:23Speaker 01

It's fallen off a little bit. That's just me.

• 28:25H. Foley?

  He's been dead 30 years.

• 28:26Speaker 01

  That's true.

• 28:27H. Foley?

What do you want from the guy? That, that recipe's gonna get leaked somewhere on the internet.

• 28:34Speaker 01

  Good lord.

• 28:35H. Foley?

  Yeah. Quite the tale.

• 28:39H. Foley?

Who would do the cooking at the house? Your mom?

• 28:41Speaker 03

  My mama.

• 28:42H. Foley?

  Specialties?

• 28:43Speaker 03

Um, we had a, she had a garden, so.

• 28:46H. Foley?

  Okay.

• 28:47Speaker 03

We, everything was, we knew where our meat came from, we killed our own bees.

• 28:52Speaker 01

  Farmed a table.

• 28:53Speaker 03

  Farmed a table.

• 28:53Speaker 01

  Before it was.

• 28:54Speaker 03

And vegetables, and vegetables, and I don't remember her, I mean, there was always a cornbread or a biscuit.

• 29:00H. Foley?

  Really?

• 29:01Speaker 03

Uh huh. And it was, but it was home cooked, and she worked like a man and ran that, really ran that meat house. And, but, I mean, we would go and get like oatmeal little Debbie's, but I didn't like them. I, I look back on it, I was this big, I was frail, because I was eating all, like, farming food.

• 29:21Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 29:23Speaker 03

I'd eat pinto beans after basketball practice. I was like, I'm feeling like pinto beans, you know?

• 29:31H. Foley?

What, what was the game situation? How far would you go with that? Deer, you live venison?

• 29:36Speaker 03

  I don't, I don't, oh.

• 29:38H. Foley?

  Really?

• 29:39Speaker 03

I can't eat any wild game, because I was raised in that.

• 29:41H. Foley?

That's what I'm saying, what were you eating back then?

• 29:43Speaker 03

Yeah, okay, I was eating a lot of vegetables, because they opened that when I was in sixth grade, and my sister locked me in a freezer. As soon as they opened it.

• 29:52Speaker 01

  She was mean.

• 29:53Speaker 03

Like a hog that was hanging like that out of his neck, and locked me in that freezer, and I was traumatized. And I would see all that meat, and I didn't eat meat, I'm, I'm not kidding, I was more of a vegetarian, I think pretty much a vegetarian, until I went to UT and got away from it.

• 30:11H. Foley?

  No kidding.

• 30:11Speaker 03

And I could eat it again, uh huh. And I'm really not a big meat eater now, but, um, I'm not against it or anything, I want to eat it, and I need this protein, because I've been through menopause.

• 30:21Speaker 01

  Amen, sister.

• 30:22Speaker 03

But I just don't crave it, but I, um, but yeah, a lot of, I was raised, they were cooking steaks and bacon and all that.

• 30:30H. Foley?

How would you get your steak cooked if you did have a steak?

• 30:32Speaker 03

Honey, well, because I've been raised in that, and it's embarrassing, every time I go to a nice restaurant, I have to go, "Well done, please," and then I go, "I was raised on a farm," and then my, in a meat process plant my children go. You don't have to tell everybody that.

• 30:47Speaker 01

  Yeah, yeah, yeah.

• 30:48Speaker 03

But I do feel that way, I've got to have it charred, and I don't care, I can dip it in some A1.

• 30:54Speaker 01

Will you ask for sauce if you're out?

• 30:56Speaker 03

I do have to have a sauce.

• 31:00Speaker 03

  I like to dip.

• 31:02Speaker 01

That might have been my favorite response ever on the whole show.

• 31:05Speaker 03

  Oh, you angel.

• 31:06Speaker 01

  You like to dip.

• 31:07Speaker 03

  I do love a dip. I like a sauce.

• 31:10Speaker 01

  Welcome to the show.

• 31:12H. Foley?

So now you're in Nashville. We're outside of Nashville, right?

• 31:15Speaker 03

  When I was raised.

• 31:16H. Foley?

No, no. Where you live now?

• 31:18Speaker 03

Oh, I'm in Knoxville, near, um, I'm in Knoxville.

• 31:21Speaker 01

  Okay. Near you two.

• 31:22H. Foley?

Okay. Pool at the house now?

• 31:24Speaker 01

  Got to. In-ground.

• 31:27Speaker 03

  Yeah, just recently.

• 31:28Speaker 01

  Just recently.

• 31:28Speaker 03

  Just recently.

• 31:29H. Foley?

  Very nice.

• 31:29Speaker 01

Is it a, is it a newer house or is it a house that?

• 31:32Speaker 03

It's an older house and we renovated it.

• 31:34Speaker 01

  Nice. Very nice.

• 31:36H. Foley?

  Hot tub?

• 31:36Speaker 03

I've never had a pool. Um, yes.

• 31:39H. Foley?

Connected to the, connected to the pool?

• 31:41Speaker 03

  Yes.

• 31:42H. Foley?

  Very nice.

• 31:42Speaker 01

Can you, very nice. Can you use the hot, is the pool in season at all, all times or no?

• 31:48Speaker 03

Well, we just moved in, so I don't know how to even do a pool. I mean, I, and Chuck Morgan doesn't like to spend money. He's very much a saver.

• 31:58Speaker 01

Do you say his full name all the time? I love it. Chuck Morgan.

• 32:01Speaker 03

Cause my mama called my daddy Jimmy Fletcher.

• 32:04Speaker 01

  Jimmy Fletcher.

• 32:05Speaker 03

And also, y'all, Chuck Laurie did my show and then my son's name is Charlie. And so I just say Chuck Morgan so everybody doesn't get all these Chucks and Charlies mixed up.

• 32:15Speaker 01

  Sure.

• 32:16Speaker 03

Yeah, but we have said, can we heat the pool? But I don't think he's gonna let us.

• 32:21Speaker 01

  What?

• 32:22Speaker 03

  I don't know. I mean, I.

• 32:23H. Foley?

  You guys are doing well.

• 32:24Speaker 03

  I, he.

• 32:25H. Foley?

  The heater in the pool?

• 32:27Speaker 01

  I mean, come on.

• 32:28H. Foley?

Come on, I mean, I got heater money. I get it. Chuck, what are you doing? Spend a little cash.

• 32:32Speaker 01

Chuck, you got the 401K. You've been with that company for 30 years.

• 32:35H. Foley?

  Yeah.

• 32:36Speaker 03

He has and he, we have lived below our means.

• 32:38Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 32:39H. Foley?

That's that Warren Buffett mindset where he's eating that sausage McMuffin every morning.

• 32:43Speaker 01

If he gets a Coke or not.

• 32:44Speaker 03

  Yeah, and a Coca-Cola. Yeah.

• 32:46H. Foley?

I'd be getting a grand slam every day if I had that kind of cash. What are you, nuts?

• 32:49Speaker 01

  Catch me at Perkins, dog.

• 32:51H. Foley?

Yeah. Chuck, come on. Heat the pool for a little. She's working hard.

• 32:57Speaker 03

  I am.

• 32:58Speaker 01

She's got a second season, right?

• 33:00H. Foley?

  Yeah, what are we doing?

• 33:01Speaker 01

Well, you got Netflix money. Turn the pool on. If I come down, that pool better be on. Just saying.

• 33:07Speaker 03

Okay. And we can go to Dollywood.

• 33:09Speaker 01

  I've never been.

• 33:10Speaker 03

  Dollywood's right next to me.

• 33:11Speaker 01

Which is, uh, what is it called? Pigeon Forge, right?

• 33:14Speaker 03

Pigeon Forge in Severville. Uh huh. And I will take y'all to Dollywood. It's beautiful.

• 33:20Speaker 01

I've, I've heard great things. Huh. I mean, okay, now we've shifted into now.

• 33:25H. Foley?

  Shifted into now, yeah.

• 33:27Speaker 01

  A little bit.

• 33:29H. Foley?

I think we've covered the childhood.

• 33:31Speaker 01

I mean, as much as I've.

• 33:32H. Foley?

We've gotten the game meat and, uh, you know, the venison processing facility.

• 33:37Speaker 03

I played sports. I played sports.

• 33:38H. Foley?

Played sports? Wasn't a great student. It's okay.

• 33:41Speaker 03

  I mean, I did okay.

• 33:42H. Foley?

  Sister stole her car.

• 33:43Speaker 03

Well, I did okay for a little country school that wasn't a prep school.

• 33:46H. Foley?

  Right.

• 33:46Speaker 03

I mean, we took home ec. I learned how to make an omelet.

• 33:49Speaker 01

  That's good.

• 33:50H. Foley?

  Okay.

• 33:50Speaker 03

You know, and learned how to sew a pair of johnpers.

• 33:53H. Foley?

  Okay.

• 33:54Speaker 03

And then the boys would, okay, this is how old timey it was. Boys would get out at 1:30 in the afternoon to go work in the field.

• 34:01H. Foley?

That's crazy. I'd be so pissed.

• 34:03Speaker 01

What? Do you have to leave school to go work? Gotta go drop sticks, dude.

• 34:09Speaker 03

And let me tell you all this. Boys would be driving to school like at 10. I mean, everybody could drive a tractor and drive a truck and they worked.

• 34:18Speaker 01

  They didn't care, yeah, right.

• 34:19Speaker 03

So, everybody was driving way too young. Yeah, and just drove all the time and nobody cared. That rural.

• 34:27Speaker 01

  That's country.

• 34:28H. Foley?

  Yeah.

• 34:28Speaker 03

  That's country.

• 34:29H. Foley?

Yeah, I think we have the childhood pretty covered. You got the deer hanging from the trees.

• 34:33Speaker 01

  Sister, sister stole her car.

• 34:35H. Foley?

  Right.

• 34:35Speaker 03

Y'all don't know anybody else that have got deer hanging from the trees?

• 34:38H. Foley?

No, around this time of year, maybe. Halloween.

• 34:41Speaker 01

  Yeah, not really. Huh. Okay.

• 34:46H. Foley?

  Yeah.

• 34:48Speaker 01

I got one about the, about the general family.

• 34:50H. Foley?

  Okay.

• 34:51Speaker 01

Anyone in your extended family ever represent themselves in court?

• 34:56Speaker 03

  No.

• 34:56H. Foley?

And you're running with the law.

• 34:58Speaker 01

  For you.

• 34:59Speaker 03

  No, not really.

• 35:00H. Foley?

What'd you guys have, like a local sheriff? Small town operation?

• 35:04Speaker 03

The county had a, had a sheriff, but yeah, they didn't come down there. We weren't doing anything.

• 35:09H. Foley?

  Really?

• 35:10Speaker 03

There was a, there was a, and my dad was a volunteer at our little fire department. All the men volunteered in that. It was a volunteer fire department. But yeah, I mean, there'd be a patrol car every once in a while, but yeah. Not, you know, you kept your door unlocked. That kinda stuff. Sure.

• 35:27Speaker 01

The deer was deterrent, you know, anybody.

• 35:29Speaker 03

Well, true. All those deer legs.

• 35:32H. Foley?

Walking into a house of horrors.

• 35:35Speaker 01

You mentioned the omelet. Can you still make a good omelet?

• 35:37Speaker 03

  I'm okay.

• 35:38Speaker 01

  You're okay.

• 35:38Speaker 03

If there's enough oil in there, I can flip it.

• 35:40H. Foley?

  You do any cooking now?

• 35:42Speaker 03

Not much since I've been working like a meal. But I raised these children cooking three meals a day.

• 35:48Speaker 01

  You do, you do.

• 35:49Speaker 03

Except when they, they all played sports, so we'd stop at Chick-fil-A or something. But I cooked and I enjoyed cooking.

• 35:55Speaker 01

What's your go-to meal? We came over, you're really trying to wow us. You got the heat on, the hot tubs going.

• 36:00H. Foley?

  Sunday dinner at the Morgans.

• 36:01Speaker 01

  What are you cooking up?

• 36:02Speaker 03

Um, I'd love a Mississippi pot roast. I'm into that and I, these children have always loved it. If y'all ever had one of those. Very flavorful.

• 36:10H. Foley?

What's the difference between a regular pot roast and a Mississippi pot roast?

• 36:13Speaker 03

It's, um, okay, y'all, country. It's a packet of au jus, a packet of ranch dressing. Ranch dressing.

• 36:22H. Foley?

  Ranch dressing?

• 36:23Speaker 03

A packet of the dry ranch dressing and then a stick of butter cut up on that.

• 36:29Speaker 01

I thought it was gonna be like a little more, okay.

• 36:32Speaker 03

And then a jar of pepperoni.

• 36:33Speaker 01

  Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.

• 36:35H. Foley?

  Ah, okay.

• 36:36Speaker 01

  Oh, and the crock pot.

• 36:37Speaker 03

And y'all will smack each other. I am telling y'all to dine for, but I grew up, these children would ask for my chicken piccata and it's not mine. It's Tricia Yearwood's. I got her first cookbook, which is to dine for.

• 36:50Speaker 01

  You do a good piccata.

• 36:51Speaker 03

It's a piccata. They like a chicken piccata and I think it's a pretty good chicken piccata. Yeah, I like to get that thin chicken.

• 36:57Speaker 01

  Uh huh.

• 36:58Speaker 03

  Hammer it.

• 36:59H. Foley?

What's Chuck's favorite dish? What does he like?

• 37:03Speaker 03

  He'll eat anything.

• 37:04H. Foley?

But is there anything he requests?

• 37:06Speaker 03

Um, I'm drawing a blank. Baby, do you know what your daddy would want?

• 37:14Speaker 01

This, I didn't know this was your daughter.

• 37:15Speaker 03

  That's my baby child.

• 37:17H. Foley?

  Hey, buddy.

• 37:17Speaker 01

  Hi.

• 37:18H. Foley?

  Pinto beans?

• 37:19Speaker 04

Pinto beans, cornbread, fried potatoes and onions and a skillet and then.

• 37:26Speaker 01

Man, I gotta meet this Chuck Morgan.

• 37:27H. Foley?

  Chuck's my kinda guy.

• 37:28Speaker 01

We gotta get Chuck on the show.

• 37:29H. Foley?

  Whoa.

• 37:30Speaker 03

But he, he's tickled with whatever. He really is. He's not hard to place.

• 37:34H. Foley?

  Doesn't complain.

• 37:35Speaker 03

  No.

• 37:35H. Foley?

  He's a man's man.

• 37:36Speaker 01

  Hmm.

• 37:37H. Foley?

  Chuck Morgan.

• 37:38Speaker 01

  Very nice.

• 37:39H. Foley?

Thanks, alright. Um, king size bed?

• 37:42Speaker 03

  Yes.

• 37:43Speaker 01

  Got it.

• 37:43H. Foley?

How do you sleep? Do you sleep on your side? Do you sleep on your back?

• 37:46Speaker 03

I sleep on my side, balled up. I like a pillow between my legs.

• 37:51H. Foley?

  Yes. All right.

• 37:53Speaker 03

I like to ball up that pillow.

• 37:55H. Foley?

  Okay.

• 37:56Speaker 03

  Proper it up.

• 37:57Speaker 01

  She's trash. I know.

• 37:59Speaker 03

And I like, I like a sleep mask, a sound machine. I got all that going on too.

• 38:03Speaker 01

  Good for you.

• 38:04H. Foley?

  No kidding.

• 38:04Speaker 03

  Yeah.

• 38:05H. Foley?

  A TV in the bedroom?

• 38:07Speaker 03

We do have a TV in the bedroom and the experts say no, but Chuck Morgan loves to set up and watch. He's a night owl and sets up. That's why I have to have a sound machine and all that because I need to go to bed.

• 38:19H. Foley?

  Okay.

• 38:20Speaker 03

Cause I'm kind of a big deal.

• 38:21H. Foley?

Wait, so Chuck's in there watching TV?

• 38:23Speaker 01

It's kind of a big deal. I don't know if you heard about that. She's selling out, she's selling out shows all across the country. She gotta, she gotta have her rest.

• 38:30Speaker 03

  I've gotta have my rest.

• 38:31Speaker 01

  She's doing two shows.

• 38:32Speaker 03

  I turned 60 this month.

• 38:34Speaker 01

  Happy birthday.

• 38:34Speaker 03

  Thank y'all. Sixty.

• 38:36Speaker 01

  That's amazing.

• 38:37Speaker 03

I wish y'all could have seen me at 20. Anyway, go ahead.

• 38:43Speaker 01

With that, with that four lauter now, tan baby.

• 38:46H. Foley?

And that heater hanging out of her mouth.

• 38:48Speaker 01

I'd be lighting your Marlboro lights all day.

• 38:50H. Foley?

Yeah, right. That's all we need. Chuck Morgan chasing us out of the restaurant.

• 38:53Speaker 01

  Yeah, right.

• 38:54H. Foley?

  Calling us Yankees.

• 38:55Speaker 01

Got a good job slapping us around.

  Yeah.

• 41:34Speaker 01

  Back to the show.

• 41:35H. Foley?

Um, so wait, Chuck sits up and watches TV?

• 41:38Speaker 03

Uh huh. He watches a lot of football, sports, basketball, and all that.

• 41:42H. Foley?

And he'll sit up and, and, and you'll just knock out. You'll be asleep.

• 41:45Speaker 03

  I'll knock out.

• 41:46H. Foley?

Does he fall asleep with the TV on?

• 41:48Speaker 03

Sometimes. And I gotta reach around a tiny beagle. I got a beagle nail.

• 41:53Speaker 01

  Sleeps in bed with you?

• 41:54Speaker 03

Sleeps in bed with me, and she's yummy, and I have to turn everything off because he falls asleep. And his light on his side. I have to get up and turn that off.

• 42:04H. Foley?

We have his and her vanities in the bathroom?

• 42:07Speaker 03

  We do nail.

• 42:08H. Foley?

  Nice.

• 42:09Speaker 03

Because for a long time it was tiny and he's a paino retentive.

• 42:14H. Foley?

When did you move into this house?

• 42:15Speaker 03

I just like, when was that baby? What? End of August. End of August.

• 42:20H. Foley?

  This year? What?

• 42:22Speaker 03

We were in the same house for 25 years.

• 42:23Speaker 01

You were in the same house for 25 years?

• 42:24Speaker 03

I raised my children in the same house.

• 42:26H. Foley?

Guys are making cash. What are we doing?

• 42:30Speaker 01

  It wasn't a bad house.

• 42:31Speaker 03

It was, and it was a lovely house.

• 42:33Speaker 01

Now that I have, now that we have her here too as well, when, you know, you're, you've, so Chuck had a good job, your dad had a good job, right? Executive, did well. Then you started doing very well, later in life as well.

• 42:47Speaker 03

  Later in life, early 50s.

• 42:49Speaker 01

Early, within the past 10 years or so, right?

• 42:51Speaker 03

  Yeah, probably about seven, yeah.

• 42:53Speaker 01

Did you notice a significant change in income during that or no? Once she started really cooking and Netflix started cutting checks left and right? Chuck Lorre, you mentioned Chuck Lorre. You know what that guy's got under his belt? He ain't working with anybody.

• 43:07H. Foley?

  He's got a little cash.

• 43:10Speaker 03

When we got this new house.

• 43:11H. Foley?

  The new house?

• 43:12Speaker 03

  The new house is...

• 43:13Speaker 01

You've, no, you go, okay, this is not...

• 43:15H. Foley?

He won't turn the heat on in the pool. What are you talking about?

• 43:18Speaker 03

But it's got, it's got an elevator in it.

• 43:20Speaker 01

  An elevator in the house?

• 43:21Speaker 03

It's got a tiny, alright boys.

• 43:24H. Foley?

  There we go.

• 43:24Speaker 03

It's a tiny, tiny little elevator.

• 43:27Speaker 01

  A little telephone booth.

• 43:28Speaker 03

Because my little, yes, because my little mama is in a wheelchair, so when she comes, we can, and my mother-in-law's on a walker. So we, we had to take care of all these darling elderly people, so I made my mama's room, and my daddy's still with us, but for their room, I did a walk-in shower.

• 43:48Speaker 01

  Love it.

• 43:48Speaker 03

For her, and handicap, all ADA accessible.

• 43:51Speaker 01

In case the government wants to come and check that. That's all ADA accessible, okay? And that elevator's been inspected.

• 43:57Speaker 03

But that, it's, I think it's a rickety looking little elevator, but it works, but it works.

• 44:03Speaker 01

  Yeah, yeah, yeah.

• 44:03H. Foley?

Did you guys remodel the kitchen?

• 44:06Speaker 01

I think the whole thing's been, I would assume.

• 44:07Speaker 03

Yes, but not, I mean, we kept a lot of stuff that they had because it was nice.

• 44:11H. Foley?

  Do we have an island?

• 44:12Speaker 03

  I have an island.

• 44:13H. Foley?

  Very nice.

• 44:14Speaker 03

Thank you. And I have a bigger pantry this time.

• 44:16H. Foley?

  Very nice.

• 44:17Speaker 01

  You're walking that.

• 44:18Speaker 03

Because my other pantry was tiny and I raised all those children, it was all these pinto beans. And I needed somewhere to put them.

• 44:26Speaker 01

  They love them.

• 44:27Speaker 03

  We're beaned up, yeah.

• 44:29H. Foley?

Um, Sub-Z fridge, what are we talking about?

• 44:32Speaker 01

You got stainless steel in there.

• 44:33H. Foley?

  Stainless steel.

• 44:33Speaker 03

Stainless steel, and then this one, this is a Sub-Z in this new house. It is.

• 44:39Speaker 01

That's southern class, she whispers Sub-Zero.

• 44:42H. Foley?

  Yeah.

• 44:42Speaker 01

  Sub-Zero.

• 44:43Speaker 03

But it's, but it was theirs. I didn't get a new one. And the, and the, everybody checked it and they said it was fine.

• 44:49H. Foley?

  Huh.

• 44:50Speaker 03

  Yeah, so it's somebody else's.

• 44:51Speaker 01

Everybody, everybody came over. She's obsessed with people inspecting stuff if they come. This is, um, you got a wine fridge in there too? Like a wa- a chilled wine fridge under like the, under the island?

• 45:02Speaker 03

Um, under, it's in her daddy's, okay.

• 45:06H. Foley?

  What?

• 45:06Speaker 03

He does not like to make, to spend money, but he went kinda way out on hi- Chuck Morgan, on his office.

• 45:15Speaker 01

  Good.

• 45:15Speaker 03

And there is a bar in there, and there is a wine fridge in that, under the sink.

• 45:21Speaker 01

Three bars? He's got, wait, in the house, there's three bars? Where, alright, so he's got one in his office. Where else?

• 45:27Speaker 05

The basement has a whole other kitchen with an island and a-

• 45:30Speaker 01

Basement's got a bar, like, yeah, like an entertain, yeah, okay.

• 45:33Speaker 05

And then there's a bar in, um, in the outside back porch is an outdoor kitchen.

• 45:38Speaker 01

Love that. You got a fridge out there too, right? You gotta have a fridge outside.

• 45:41H. Foley?

He's probably got an ice machine out there. Does Chuck have an ice machine? Yeah, of course he's got a like, what the fuck are we talking about? Turn the heat on Chuck.

• 45:46Speaker 01

Sorry, cursing, I'm cursing in front of the southern belle.

• 45:48Speaker 03

We had never had an ice machine.

• 45:50H. Foley?

  That's awesome.

• 45:51Speaker 03

And I thought, and we always, and we never had enough ice, my refrigerator in my other house would just spit out a couple. And I'd say, Chuck-

• 45:58Speaker 01

Leanne, you burned the ice machine. You could live in an ice machine if you wanted to.

• 46:02Speaker 03

Thank y'all. It makes me feel bad.

• 46:04Speaker 01

No, yeah, I know, but don't. It's celebrated here. Get the ice machine.

• 46:09H. Foley?

I want to be in Chuck's office when he has like a, like a half a glass or something, I'm yelling at me.

• 46:12Speaker 01

Opens up, opens up a globe and there's-

• 46:14H. Foley?

Straightening me out or something like that.

• 46:16Speaker 03

He'd put you on a budget.

• 46:19Speaker 01

  Which he does need.

• 46:20Speaker 03

He'd say, "Do you need to talk to me about your budget? Let me get you, let's talk about it."

• 46:23Speaker 01

He's got you on a budget still?

• 46:26Speaker 03

  Um, yeah.

• 46:27Speaker 01

  Chuck, what are we doing?

• 46:28H. Foley?

Who's shopping now? Who's going to the grocery store? You guys go to delivered?

• 46:31Speaker 03

Um, yeah, sometimes. And then, um, I do have an assistant now.

• 46:36H. Foley?

  Very nice.

• 46:36Speaker 03

I had to, because I'm the mama.

• 46:38Speaker 01

You don't have to defend it.

• 46:39Speaker 03

And I took care of everybody. And then, so she takes care of things that happen.

• 46:43H. Foley?

You don't got to defend it. What are you talking about?

• 46:45Speaker 01

I'd have, I'd have assistants just to fire them if I were you. You're, listen, you've earned it. You're, you, I mean, come on.

• 46:53Speaker 03

I'm barely at home. But I do have a grocery store and I like to still go grocery shopping and I don't want that to end.

• 46:59Speaker 01

Do you have a favorite grocery store that you like that maybe it's not around you, but you've seen around the country anywhere?

• 47:03Speaker 03

  Oh.

• 47:04Speaker 01

  What do you like?

• 47:04Speaker 03

We lived in San Antonio when my kids were little. That's where I got started in stand-up, in Austin, at Cap City Comedy Club.

• 47:10Speaker 01

You got started at Cap City? What age did you start, if you don't mind me asking?

• 47:13Speaker 03

Um, I opened for Billy Gardale, the first time I ever worked a club, at Zany's in Nashville, and I was 32.

• 47:20H. Foley?

  Wow.

• 47:21Speaker 03

Or 33. She was 18 months old and she's about to turn 28.

• 47:24Speaker 01

  You started comedy when?

• 47:26H. Foley?

  I was 32 when I started. Man.

• 47:30Speaker 03

  I think that's a good time.

• 47:31H. Foley?

I didn't have Chuck Morgan at home, though, dang it.

• 47:33Speaker 01

You don't got Chuck Lorre calling you.

• 47:35Speaker 03

I was very lucky. I had, I got to, I did horrible gigs, like everybody else does.

• 47:39H. Foley?

  Yeah.

• 47:40Speaker 03

But I got to skip a lot. But I had these three little babies.

• 47:43H. Foley?

  Of course.

• 47:44Speaker 03

I couldn't drive like 300 miles and make $50 to sleep in my car.

• 47:47H. Foley?

  Of course.

• 47:48Speaker 03

But I did other horrible, you know, but.

• 47:50Speaker 01

Hey, listen, you're, you made it 20 years. It's not like you made it in your first six months. You made it, you made it in your early 50s.

• 47:58Speaker 03

But I want people to know that because this is hard. Stand-up is hard.

• 48:02Speaker 01

I will say, I don't think anybody does not know that, from our, from our perspective.

• 48:07H. Foley?

  Tried and true.

• 48:08Speaker 01

Before we had ever met you, you started, we started seeing you and we were like, have you seen?

• 48:12H. Foley?

  A seasoned comic, for sure.

• 48:13Speaker 01

  And it's like, you.

• 48:15H. Foley?

  100, 100%.

• 48:16Speaker 01

You came into the public spotlight fully professionally, complete, like killer, killer killer.

• 48:22H. Foley?

  No joke, shooting straight.

• 48:24Speaker 01

I mean significantly better than both of us.

• 48:26H. Foley?

Are you kidding me? You'd bury me.

• 48:30Speaker 01

  Okay.

• 48:31Speaker 03

  Oh, y'all.

• 48:33Speaker 01

Will you sneak, I'm sorry, will you sneak snacks into a movie theater if you do go still?

• 48:38Speaker 03

  Yes.

• 48:39Speaker 01

  Okay.

• 48:39Speaker 03

I have done it all my life and these children, oh yeah, I'll go in, now we, you know, we'll buy it there too, but I do like to take an M and L.

• 48:48H. Foley?

  M and M's.

• 48:50Speaker 03

  I love a good peanut M and L.

• 48:51H. Foley?

  Okay.

• 48:52Speaker 03

And, um, I'm trying to think of what everybody, some of, some of my kids like sour patches, that kind of thing, and some of them like chocolate.

• 48:59H. Foley?

  Okay.

• 49:00Speaker 03

  Yeah.

• 49:01Speaker 01

  Very nice.

• 49:01H. Foley?

What would be your number one fast food? Would it be Chick-fil-A?

• 49:06H. Foley?

  Wendy's?

• 49:06Speaker 03

  I like Wendy's. I like a Wendy's hamburger.

• 49:11H. Foley?

  You do?

• 49:12Speaker 03

  I like a Wendy's single.

• 49:13H. Foley?

  Uh huh.

• 49:15Speaker 03

  With fries.

• 49:16H. Foley?

  Okay.

• 49:16Speaker 01

You think there's gonna be more?

• 49:18Speaker 03

  But I don't even.

• 49:20Speaker 01

You're going, hey, I'm just getting started, what else you got? She's, she hits you with the Wendy's single and you're like, okay?

• 49:25Speaker 03

But I'll tell you though, I, I don't think there's one fast food restaurant that I don't like. I like fast food.

• 49:31H. Foley?

  Yeah, me too.

• 49:31Speaker 03

I do. And I think every hamburger's wonderful, In-N-Out, when I was living in LA, we'd go get it in In-N-Out, and that was pretty nasty.

• 49:39H. Foley?

  What's the drink?

• 49:40Speaker 03

  Diet Coke.

• 49:41H. Foley?

Is there a sweet tea recipe at the house? Do you guys do sweet tea?

• 49:44Speaker 03

We don't do it a lot, but we, um, like, I've got a daughter-in-law that loves it and she'll drink it.

• 49:50H. Foley?

  Okay.

• 49:50Speaker 03

I can make it, and I'll buy it. But we, we like an Arnold Palmer.

• 49:56H. Foley?

  Nice.

• 49:56Speaker 01

  An AP.

• 49:57Speaker 03

At a big thing, yeah, at a big family thing.

• 50:00H. Foley?

Were you a Crystal Light family growing up?

• 50:02Speaker 03

Um, I was not, but Chuck Morgan, oh, no, not the kids I don't feel like, but Chuck Morgan loves a Crystal Light and keeps it at all times.

• 50:11H. Foley?

  Talk about no-nonsense guy.

• 50:17H. Foley?

A Crystal Light man. Look, I gotta meet this guy. He's gonna hate me.

• 50:22Speaker 03

No, he's not, he's gonna love y'all. He would love y'all and want y'all to come stay with us, he would.

• 50:28Speaker 01

Let's say, all right, let's live in the house still, why, we, say we come over, I'm really angling to come over.

• 50:34Speaker 01

Say we fly back with you tonight, you know, whatever.

• 50:37Speaker 03

  Okay.

• 50:38Speaker 01

What, uh, what kind of water, if we ask for a water, what would we get? Is it bottled? Is it out of the tap, out of the fridge? What do you have? Do you have options? You got sparkling, you got still?

• 50:46Speaker 03

I do have options now. I like to have options.

• 50:50Speaker 01

  Sure.

• 50:50Speaker 03

But I like a bottle. I mean, and I'm trying not to, I'm trying to get away from plastic, so I'm trying to buy.

• 50:56Speaker 01

  The glass.

• 50:57Speaker 03

  The glass.

• 50:57Speaker 01

What kind are we talking, Saratoga?

• 50:59Speaker 03

  Saratoga.

• 51:00Speaker 01

Really? I can tell, I can tell, I can tell you're Saratoga girl.

• 51:03H. Foley?

Do any of the kids live with you now? Do any of you guys still live at the house?

• 51:06Speaker 05

Uh, me and my sister technically live here, but I live with her part-time because I tour with her full-time.

• 51:10H. Foley?

  Nice, that's awesome.

• 51:12Speaker 01

Got the family work, you continue the family business.

• 51:14Speaker 03

Yeah, and my boy and his wife are gonna renovate their house and they may move in for a tiny bit with us. We wanted them during the whole thing.

• 51:21H. Foley?

  That'd be fun.

• 51:22Speaker 03

  That would be so fun.

• 51:23H. Foley?

  Yeah.

• 51:24Speaker 03

But they're gonna move into my old house where my boy was raised and that way they have their privacy and there's a yard for the babies with their riding toys.

• 51:32Speaker 01

So you got the new place, you kept the old place.

• 51:34Speaker 03

Right, for right now, just so they can live in it, so they didn't have to rent somewhere and then we'll sell it.

• 51:39H. Foley?

Well, I just want to ask, with the holidays coming up, how's the Morgan family, uh, you guys get into Christmas? You get into the holidays?

• 51:46Speaker 03

Yeah, oh yeah, and everybody will come, my sister and her family, everybody will come to me.

• 51:49H. Foley?

  Real tree?

• 51:51Speaker 03

  Yeah.

• 51:51H. Foley?

  Okay.

• 51:52Speaker 03

  Yeah.

• 51:52H. Foley?

  Wow, white lights, colored lights?

• 51:54Speaker 03

  I like white.

• 51:55H. Foley?

  Good, very nice, very classy.

• 51:57Speaker 01

  Classy broad.

• 51:58H. Foley?

White lights around the house, on the outside?

• 52:00Speaker 03

  Uh-huh, I like that.

• 52:01H. Foley?

Does Chuck Morgan go out there and do this?

• 52:02Speaker 03

  Yeah.

• 52:03H. Foley?

  He does.

• 52:03Speaker 03

Yeah, Chuck Morgan, yeah, he like, he's kinda like Martha Stewart. He's a big, very masculine, likes sports.

• 52:14Speaker 01

Can I get eyes on this guy? Can I Google him?

• 52:16Speaker 03

But, he likes, he does, he can plan anything, he does flowers, like, when they were growing up, he'd put corn stalks out with bale of hay and do a fall, you know, spray out there. And then he, yeah, he'll decorate, he doesn't mind one bit.

• 52:30H. Foley?

  Is that him?

• 52:31Speaker 01

  That's Chuck.

• 52:31Speaker 03

  Yeah.

• 52:32Speaker 01

Woo! Got the nice jacket on.

• 52:34H. Foley?

Oh man, he'd straighten me out in two seconds.

• 52:36Speaker 01

Yeah, look at him, look at him in his suit. That is a dapper man, that's a...

• 52:41Speaker 03

Well, I thought, I thought he looked, I said, we didn't know how to stand in an award show. And he went, and he went...

• 52:51Speaker 03

And I thought, it looks like, I don't know.

• 52:54Speaker 01

I don't know. He looks good. He's got, he's buttoned up. He's got the hand.

• 52:58H. Foley?

That guy would kick our asses.

• 53:00Speaker 01

Yeah, he would. You look great too, obviously. Of course. That's a given.

• 53:03Speaker 03

  Thank you.

• 53:04Speaker 01

Just hitting on your husband, that's all.

• 53:07Speaker 01

  Okay.

• 53:08H. Foley?

Do you bring food on a plane?

• 53:11Speaker 03

I have, my darling, but I...

• 53:13H. Foley?

Like what? What do we call it? A snack?

• 53:15Speaker 03

A snack. I always go buy those little things and get a water.

• 53:19H. Foley?

  Okay.

• 53:20Speaker 03

  And something chocolate.

• 53:21H. Foley?

  Okay.

• 53:22Speaker 03

And then something like a, I like a popcorn.

• 53:24H. Foley?

  Okay.

• 53:25Speaker 03

  Or a pretzel.

• 53:26Speaker 01

What kind of popcorn? Like a Smart Food?

• 53:28Speaker 03

Yeah, like a Smart Food, like a cheddar, or something like that. I do love that. And then I, um, I do...

• 53:35Speaker 01

  Messy, though.

• 53:36Speaker 03

  It is. But I keep a wipe. I'm a grandmother. I keep a wipe.

• 53:40Speaker 01

  A wipes.

• 53:40H. Foley?

Will you take your shoes off on a plane?

• 53:42Speaker 03

  No.

• 53:42H. Foley?

  Never? Okay. Fair enough.

• 53:45Speaker 01

Well, you sleep, can you sleep on a plane?

• 53:47Speaker 03

  Not well, but I try.

• 53:48Speaker 01

  Yeah, aisle or window?

• 53:50Speaker 03

I like an aisle. I like to be free if something goes down. I don't want to be up against that.

• 53:57Speaker 01

  The boys are coming.

• 53:59Speaker 03

I like to be able to go to the bathroom if I need to. I don't want to feel contained back up in there.

• 54:06Speaker 01

I'm, I'm an aisle man myself. I get it.

• 54:08H. Foley?

Shower at night, shower in the morning person?

• 54:10Speaker 03

I like to shower in the morning.

• 54:12H. Foley?

  In the morning?

• 54:12Speaker 03

  Mm-hmm.

• 54:13H. Foley?

Um, brush your teeth in the shower?

• 54:16Speaker 03

  No, at the sink.

• 54:18H. Foley?

  Okay.

• 54:19Speaker 03

But, but my dental hygienist saying, take a water pick and take it in the shower because it's messy and, and get all that up and out of there.

• 54:29H. Foley?

And do you floss every day?

• 54:30Speaker 03

But I haven't done it yet. Um, no, and I know I need to.

• 54:34H. Foley?

  All right.

• 54:34Speaker 03

I floss, but not as much as I should.

• 54:39Speaker 01

Do you have, uh, name brand luggage? What kind of luggage you carrying?

• 54:42Speaker 03

  I've been carrying Beis.

• 54:45Speaker 01

Oh. Sponsor the show. Shout out to the good folks at Beis.

• 54:49H. Foley?

  Very nice.

• 54:50Speaker 01

  Romo garbage.

• 54:51Speaker 03

I think they roll good and I try to now have a set because they roll better together because it's just me and my baby. I don't have a tour manager or anything.

• 54:59Speaker 01

It's just you two? It's just you two going out on the road?

• 55:01Speaker 03

Yeah, and I have an opener and they meet me there. And then, yeah, like Nate Bargatze, who's my buddy, and y'all know.

• 55:07Speaker 01

  Yeah, yeah, yeah.

• 55:08Speaker 03

  He has 20 people.

• 55:09Speaker 01

  He's got everybody.

• 55:10Speaker 03

Uh, it's just me and my baby. And then the guy that's with me, publicist. But he doesn't get to go on the road with me. I would love it because he's sweet. And I could be his mama. He's the age of my children. But, um, we really, we're

• 55:24Speaker 01

  You're a lean crew.

• 55:26Speaker 03

  Very lean.

• 55:26Speaker 01

Hey, that's overhead. You don't need

• 55:28Speaker 03

  Yeah.

• 55:28Speaker 01

I don't need to be ensuring other people. Nah, lean and mean. She's already on the policy, I'm sure.

• 55:34H. Foley?

Well Chuck, come out and meet you for a show or something like that, though?

• 55:37Speaker 03

Yeah, he'll, he likes to go to the Wynn in Las Vegas.

• 55:40Speaker 01

Oh, he's, who don't like going there?

• 55:42Speaker 03

  He likes

• 55:43Speaker 01

He's not going to Tuscaloosa, though. He's not going to the Civic Center and, you know, the armpit of Toledo.

• 55:48Speaker 03

  No, he's not.

• 55:49Speaker 01

Yeah, you're not gonna, they come to the good ones. They come to the fun ones.

• 55:51Speaker 03

He comes to the, where he can play golf. And then, and game, he likes to play a little blackjack.

• 55:57H. Foley?

  Is he good?

• 55:58Speaker 03

Um, yeah, I think, yeah. And he plays tennis. Like if there's

• 56:02H. Foley?

  Really?

• 56:02Speaker 03

  Uh huh.

• 56:03H. Foley?

  How's he gonna stay cooked?

• 56:05Speaker 03

  How's he gonna, what?

• 56:06H. Foley?

How does he get, how does he get his steak cooked?

• 56:08Speaker 03

Oh, his steak cooked. Oh, is it rare, baby, or medium? Medium rare.

• 56:13H. Foley?

  Medium rare?

• 56:15Speaker 01

  Chuck, Chuck, Chuck.

• 56:19Speaker 01

  He say he's 6'5"?

• 56:20H. Foley?

  He's 6'5"?

• 56:21Speaker 01

  Yeah, he's a house.

• 56:22H. Foley?

Will you tell him he said what's up?

• 56:24Speaker 01

Did he ask about me? Does he know who I am?

• 56:29Speaker 03

He needs that attention because I don't give it to him.

• 56:34Speaker 01

Um, okay, so what's on the rider? You go to, you know, you're doing, doing very well. What, what do you like to have in the green room? Because, you know, you're, you're not doing comedy clubs where you can order food or whatever. You're doing theaters. And the listeners probably might not know, or they do know, there's nothing, the theaters aren't stocked with, they don't have like a kitchen. You can't order food. So what do you like to have around pre-show, post-show? What do you like?

• 56:55Speaker 03

We usually order food after the show.

• 56:58Speaker 01

  Very good.

• 56:58H. Foley?

  Okay.

• 56:59Speaker 03

  From somewhere nifty.

• 57:00H. Foley?

  Okay.

• 57:01Speaker 03

In that town. But, um, I always have, and this is, I'm a grandmama. I like to have a caffeine-free Coke Zero.

• 57:09H. Foley?

  Mm-hmm.

• 57:09Speaker 03

  You can't always find them.

• 57:11H. Foley?

No, you can't. What's that even look? A caffeine-free Coke Zero? The Pepsi's used to be gold. I remember caffeine-free Pepsi was gold. So did the, so did the, yeah, so did the Coke.

• 57:19Speaker 03

Cause if I drink caffeine after a certain time, then I'm up all night.

• 57:22H. Foley?

  It's over.

• 57:23Speaker 03

And I can't be doing that, cause I gotta go to the next town the next day.

• 57:25H. Foley?

  Right.

• 57:26Speaker 03

So I try to have, um, my baby child that's with me all the time tries to, um, make sure she gets enough protein, so she has a Fairlife milk in there so she can make a protein shake.

• 57:36H. Foley?

  Okay.

• 57:37Speaker 03

I have a little bit of cheese, crackers, some crudité.

• 57:43H. Foley?

  Crudité?

• 57:43Speaker 03

With a dip, yeah, like, you know.

• 57:45H. Foley?

  She likes a dip?

• 57:46Speaker 03

  I like a dip.

• 57:47H. Foley?

  That's vegetables, right?

• 57:48Speaker 03

  Yeah, vegetables and, um...

• 57:49H. Foley?

It said you didn't know French. Get outta here.

• 57:52Speaker 03

And then, um, fruit, like a little fruit tray, and that's usually what we have.

• 57:57H. Foley?

  Good.

• 57:57Speaker 03

And just have something to nibble on.

• 57:58H. Foley?

Do you take any of that with you after the show?

• 58:02Speaker 03

I did, my first tour, the Big Panty Tour, I took every piece of fruit. And then I, people would stare at me and look at me like I was crazy. And I still take some. She takes that meal. We put it in the refrigerator in a hotel room, but I, I do, I mean, I like, if the crackers hadn't been open, I'd take them home.

• 58:20H. Foley?

  Sure, yeah.

• 58:22Speaker 03

  I know, I don't like waste.

• 58:23H. Foley?

Mm-hmm. That's alright. I like it. You do a sound check?

• 58:26Speaker 03

  Mm-hmm, mm-hmm.

• 58:28H. Foley?

How do you feel about singing "Happy Birthday" at a restaurant?

• 58:32Speaker 03

Um, it's okay. You know, it kinda makes, gives me the willies.

• 58:35H. Foley?

  Sure.

• 58:36Speaker 03

But I can do it, I mean, if I needed to. And I wanted my children to get sung to when they were little.

• 58:41H. Foley?

Mm-hmm. Will you take leftovers home from the restaurant?

• 58:43Speaker 03

  Yes.

• 58:44H. Foley?

  Okay.

• 58:46Speaker 03

  Love a leftover.

• 58:47H. Foley?

  Okay. Really?

• 58:49Speaker 03

Chuck Morgan does not like, he'll go, "Why are you taking this home?" But I...

• 58:53H. Foley?

  Chuck Morgan doesn't like it?

• 58:54Speaker 03

Uh, and he'll end up eating it.

• 58:56H. Foley?

  Huh.

• 58:56Speaker 03

But he'll say, "Why are you taking this?" But I, I'm from farming people. Farming people don't waste things.

• 59:03H. Foley?

Is there anything that normally would be eaten, uh, warm or hot, that you like cold sometimes the next day?

• 59:08Speaker 03

I like a spaghetti or a pizza cold.

• 59:13H. Foley?

Okay. Yes, she does. She's alright, man. She's alright. Where the...

• 59:19Speaker 03

Okay, y'all are so fun. Okay. I didn't know I was gonna come in here and fall in love with y'all.

• 59:27Speaker 01

Uh huh. How old were you when you got your passport?

• 59:31Speaker 03

  Forty.

• 59:32Speaker 01

  Forty.

• 59:32Speaker 03

And I got it on my 40th birthday and I was crying because I was turning 40 because I thought that was bad. That was stupid. And then, and I'm, so I'm in that passport speculaty face because Chuck Morgan called and said, "Meet me at the post office, you're getting your passport." That's the first time I ever had one. I think Mexico or somewhere on a company trip, somewhere with him on a com- on a company trip.

• 59:53H. Foley?

  Okay.

• 59:56H. Foley?

So you and Chuck travel around a little bit now?

• 59:58Speaker 03

Not much, honey, because I'm walking like a mule.

• 1:00:03Speaker 03

But I want to. I told him, because I just finished this tour in Boston and Philadelphia and I never spend any time in either one. And I love history and I like to see where people are buried. And I called him and said, "I would like to come back here on, in a, on a fall day, fall weekend, Philadelphia and then go to Boston." And he said, "Oh, we should."

• 1:00:24Speaker 01

You can go see where Benjamin, you can go see Benjamin Franklin's house. We're from Philadelphia.

• 1:00:27H. Foley?

Yeah, that's where we started comedy.

• 1:00:29Speaker 03

I saw where he was buried. I didn't get to go into the, I didn't have time to go in there and I saw the post office. And she saw the Liberty Bell. I didn't get to see the Liberty Bell.

• 1:00:38Speaker 01

I only saw it once. The first time, first time I, first time I saw it, I was 26 years old. I was walking by drunk and I went, "Oh, there it is." Swear to God, it was all lit up.

• 1:00:46H. Foley?

  That thing's not broken.

• 1:00:48Speaker 01

  Huh.

• 1:00:48Speaker 03

  I love that town.

• 1:00:50Speaker 01

  Yeah, beautiful town.

• 1:00:51H. Foley?

How do you feel about the rotisserie chicken?

• 1:00:54Speaker 03

  Love a rotisserie chicken.

• 1:00:55H. Foley?

  Okay.

• 1:00:56Speaker 03

And I love to use it in a casserole or something at the same time, but I could sit and eat a rotisserie chicken.

• 1:01:04Speaker 03

  Cold or warm.

• 1:01:07H. Foley?

  Perfume? You like perfume?

• 1:01:08Speaker 03

  No.

• 1:01:08H. Foley?

  No perfume?

• 1:01:09Speaker 03

I breastfed my children. And when you nurse, when you're a mom and you're nursing, they tell you not to, to, you wear it so that you don't, because they need your scent. And then, after that, I was like, it gives me the sick headache. Like I can barely walk through a cosmetic thing. Because I don't, I just don't like it.

• 1:01:27H. Foley?

Okay. Jewelry wise, any turquoise jewelry?

• 1:01:30Speaker 03

Love turquoise. We call it turquoise. Love it, love it. Just here and there, you know, on an occasion.

• 1:01:38H. Foley?

Will you dance at a wedding?

• 1:01:41Speaker 03

  Like a fool, honey.

• 1:01:42Speaker 01

  Really?

• 1:01:43Speaker 03

  That's my... I clubbed in the 80s.

• 1:01:47Speaker 01

  Back when clubbing was clubbing.

• 1:01:49Speaker 03

Clubbing was clubbing. I love to dance and yes, I like to bust a move at a wedding. Yes, I do.

• 1:01:55Speaker 01

Do you enjoy a cocktail at the wedding? Like a glass of wine? Yeah, what do you do?

• 1:01:59Speaker 03

Yeah, one glass of wine or, you know, if somebody's got a margarita or something.

• 1:02:03H. Foley?

  You like a margarita?

• 1:02:04Speaker 03

  Mm-hmm.

• 1:02:05Speaker 01

  Very nice.

• 1:02:05Speaker 03

But not much, boys. I don't do a lot because I'm in menopause and you don't sleep, you all are in the bed all night.

• 1:02:12H. Foley?

How do you feel with the double leg?

• 1:02:14Speaker 03

  Love a double leg.

• 1:02:16H. Foley?

  Okay.

• 1:02:17Speaker 01

Well, you do karaoke and if so, do you have a go-to song?

• 1:02:19Speaker 03

I'm not, you know, I don't think I've ever done karaoke and I don't know what song it would be. Maybe an Earth, Wind & Fire? Cause I go and see them a lot.

• 1:02:28Speaker 01

You go, you still go and see them?

• 1:02:30Speaker 03

Yeah. Oh, darling. Yeah, they're still kicking.

• 1:02:33Speaker 01

  Great.

• 1:02:34Speaker 03

Yeah. Some kind of R&B. Or a Prince song.

• 1:02:38Speaker 01

  Okay.

• 1:02:38Speaker 03

Or Madonna or something like that. That was my jam.

• 1:02:41Speaker 01

I got a question. You go into an Earth, Wind & Fire, do you buy those tickets or you like text your agents like, hey, can you get me?

• 1:02:47Speaker 03

Um, I've always bought them, but now I'm, I'm good friends with, uh, my agents will get me tickets, but I'm, uh, good friends with Phillip Bailey's wife, Valerie, who is an unbelievable singer.

• 1:02:59Speaker 01

  Okay.

• 1:03:00Speaker 03

And she, I was at Thompson Bowlin in Knoxville going to see Lionel Richie and Earth, Wind & Fire and she saw me walking up the street and started yelling because I had a bit about Earth, Wind & Fire. And they, and they knew it. And so she became a fan and so now I know all those, I know I've met those sweet boys.

• 1:03:18Speaker 01

She just texts wind and wind will get her tickets. I mean, you know.

• 1:03:22H. Foley?

  Do you read?

• 1:03:23Speaker 03

A little. It's not my thing.

• 1:03:25H. Foley?

Do you have a book next to the bed?

• 1:03:27Speaker 03

I do, but I don't read it. I set water on it.

• 1:03:30H. Foley?

Very nice. I respect it. I respect it.

• 1:03:33Speaker 01

  Uh-huh.

• 1:03:34Speaker 03

I buy books all the time thinking, oh, that'll be good. And then...

• 1:03:37Speaker 01

You never get there. Um, will you buy any as seen on TV products?

• 1:03:42Speaker 03

  Oh, yeah.

• 1:03:44Speaker 03

Now it's on Instagram. I get, I get that, you know, this will help you sleep. This will de-age your, puff your eyes. I buy, I fall into all that, all that. Love a good vacuum cleaner. Don't lose it, don't use it.

• 1:03:57H. Foley?

What do you guys have? You have a Dyson?

• 1:03:58Speaker 01

  We got a Dyson.

• 1:03:59Speaker 03

We have had a Dyson, but now I'm going to a Shark.

• 1:04:02H. Foley?

You are. They're really taking over.

• 1:04:05Speaker 01

  They're doing well.

• 1:04:05Speaker 03

Cause I think they do the same as a Dyson without the calls.

• 1:04:09Speaker 01

Not get crazy. Let's not, that Dyson, that Dyson's cutting edge technology, everybody knows.

• 1:04:14H. Foley?

Can't have Chuck Morgan using a Shark.

• 1:04:17Speaker 03

But I do love a Dyson hair dryer and all that stuff.

• 1:04:20Speaker 01

The air wrap, that thing's crazy. I use it to dry clothes.

• 1:04:24H. Foley?

  Do you collect anything?

• 1:04:26Speaker 03

I like a good salt and pepper shaker, but I'm not.

• 1:04:28Speaker 01

Man, if there's a, it ain't a southern grandma right there.

• 1:04:32Speaker 03

But I don't have them like sitting somewhere. I don't have that many, but like I, I was performing in Oklahoma and went to the cowboy museum.

• 1:04:39Speaker 01

  Mm-hmm.

• 1:04:40Speaker 03

Which was fascinating. And then I went in the gift shop and there were buffalo. I'm kind of a, I kinda like a buffalo. That's my animal.

• 1:04:47H. Foley?

  Okay.

• 1:04:48Speaker 03

And I got two salt and pepper shaker buffalo that are heavy and my grandbabies, my boys fight each other with those buffalo. Fun.

• 1:04:57Speaker 01

  Yeah, it's fun. It's a good time.

• 1:04:58Speaker 03

Yeah. So it's something that means something to me. I don't just go and get a bunch of salt and pepper shakers.

• 1:05:04Speaker 01

  I.

• 1:05:05Speaker 03

But if it's something like that.

• 1:05:06H. Foley?

If you're at a restaurant and you see the salt and pepper shakers and you like them, have you ever?

• 1:05:11Speaker 03

No, no, because I'm a real follower.

• 1:05:15H. Foley?

  Okay.

• 1:05:15Speaker 03

  Yeah. And I'm scared.

• 1:05:17H. Foley?

  Okay.

• 1:05:17Speaker 03

  I'm scared of cats.

• 1:05:18H. Foley?

Never stole a steak knife from the steakhouse or anything like that?

• 1:05:20Speaker 03

  Mm-mm.

• 1:05:21Speaker 01

Um, you got magnets on that fridge? Collect magnets?

• 1:05:25Speaker 03

Used to when they, those babies were little, but now, you know, nothing sticks like it used to.

• 1:05:31H. Foley?

The pets right now are just the, uh, the, the.

• 1:05:33Speaker 03

The one beagle. We usually have, um, more than that. One passed away last year. We, and we have not, I know, another, an old beagle that was precious. But, um, but I'm looking for another dog cause that little beagle needs somebody. And then Chuck Morgan loves a dog. Chuck Morgan loves a dog and a baby. So I, I think it'd be good for Chuck to have another dog.

• 1:05:56Speaker 01

  Huh, I mean, you know.

• 1:05:58H. Foley?

Is there any cereal on top of the refrigerator?

• 1:06:01Speaker 01

  No.

• 1:06:01Speaker 03

There has been, when they showed them growing up. Now, it's not built that way.

• 1:06:05H. Foley?

  Okay.

• 1:06:06Speaker 03

But I have a lot of cereal. I like to have cereal on hand. Chuck Morgan likes cereal, and my middle child. And every once in a while, I'm thinking, I gotta have some raisin bran crunch. You know?

• 1:06:18H. Foley?

  Gentlemen, what is Chuck like?

• 1:06:19Speaker 01

  What's Chuck like?

• 1:06:20Speaker 03

He likes Honey Nut Cheerios, and he'll even mix them in with some honey bunch of oats, or anything. He'll eat any kind of cereal.

• 1:06:29Speaker 01

It's awesome. Chuck. Chuck. Chuck rules. Honey Nut Cheerios.

• 1:06:33H. Foley?

Your dad's awesome, I assume, right?

• 1:06:39Speaker 03

He's really intense. He's a very driven, anal-retentive, overachiever kind of boy.

• 1:06:44Speaker 01

My kinda guy. My kinda guy. He would hate my kinda guy. I got one last question, I assume, that is not... I walk into your kitchen, I can't see the trash can, right?

• 1:06:54Speaker 03

  No.

• 1:06:54Speaker 01

No. Okay, just checking. Just checking for research purposes.

• 1:06:58Speaker 03

And even in the old house, I had a little thing that came out, and I was tickled about that. I'm not built in any of these houses. Somebody else thought of that.

• 1:07:06Speaker 01

I got one more. I can't slam... I open, you know, I need to go over your... I need a spoon. I open it up. I can't slam that drawer, right?

• 1:07:14Speaker 03

  Right.

• 1:07:14Speaker 01

Yeah, catch slow, slow catch, slow.

• 1:07:16H. Foley?

That's what you call a little bit of cash.

• 1:07:19Speaker 01

That's investing in good stuff. Shout out to Chuck Morgan, he knows what he's doing. Buy it once, write... Buy it once the first time, not again and again. I love it.

• 1:07:28H. Foley?

I mean, man. What do you think? What's the verdict here?

• 1:07:31Speaker 01

I mean, 100% trash. It's not even close. You are 100% southern trash, and I love it. It's the best.

• 1:07:37H. Foley?

  But the absolute sweetest.

• 1:07:39Speaker 01

I mean, I'm smitten over here.

• 1:07:41Speaker 03

Thank you, boys. I'll take all that. I don't care.

• 1:07:44H. Foley?

And one of the absolute best. Um, of course, check out the series Leanne on Netflix, and the brand new special, Unthinkable Things, on Netflix. Check it out. One of the absolute funniest comedians working.

• 1:07:54Speaker 01

  I mean, so good.

• 1:07:54H. Foley?

  You know that.

• 1:07:55Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 1:07:55H. Foley?

You're killing it. Everybody loves you. Everybody. Up and down the board. Do all the demos. Everybody. Leanne, Leanne.

• 1:08:03Speaker 03

Well, y'all come and stay with me and go to Dollywood.

• 1:08:07Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 1:08:07H. Foley?

  Love that.

• 1:08:08Speaker 03

  And use all this ice.

• 1:08:11Speaker 03

And eat all that cereal. And I'll make a Mississippi pot roast.

• 1:08:17Speaker 01

  Now we're talking, baby.

• 1:08:18H. Foley?

And I get to have drinks in the office with Chuck? And we get to talk numbers and business?

• 1:08:21Speaker 01

Chuck gets to yell at me, I'm in.

• 1:08:23Speaker 03

  He would love y'all.

• 1:08:25H. Foley?

  You're paying one on rent?

• 1:08:28H. Foley?

LeAnn Morgan, everybody. Big round of applause. Congratulations.

• 1:08:32Speaker 03

  Thank y'all.

• 1:08:32H. Foley?

Unspeakable Things on Netflix, make sure you watch it. Kippy, what do you got for him?

• 1:08:36Speaker 01

Guys, we're on the road, get your tickets now. The Met in Philadelphia, tickets are going fast. And Atlanta at the Bucket Theater, we'll see you there, love yous.

• 1:08:43H. Foley?

LeAnn, we love you, thank you so much.

• 1:08:45Speaker 03

  I've had a ball.

• 1:08:47H. Foley?

We love you, we'll see you next week.

• 1:08:48Speaker 03

  Bye.
