Hey, everybody out there, and welcome back to everybody's favorite podcast. This is Are You Garbage.

  Hey, yeah.

• 0:47H. Foley?

It's that little show we sit there with your favorite comedians, and we find that it's a group to be classy.

• 0:51Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 0:52H. Foley?

But they're just a big ol' piece of trash.

• 0:53Speaker 01

  Trash, trash, trash.

• 0:54H. Foley?

I'm your host, H. Foley, coming at you on a beautiful day. We're out back here at Toody's, the new addition. She's out in the garage shining up the spinners.

• 1:01Speaker 01

  Okay.

• 1:02H. Foley?

  Getting ready.

• 1:03Speaker 01

  All right.

• 1:04H. Foley?

Thought that was gonna hit a little harder. I'm not gonna lie.

• 1:06Speaker 01

You gotta go back to the writers' room, dude.

• 1:08H. Foley?

What do you mean? That's in the Patreon. That's diaper rifles over there on Patreon. I thought that was gonna kill. But it didn't. My co-host.

• 1:18Speaker 01

  But here we are.

• 1:20H. Foley?

No more taking sips when I'm hitting my punchline.

• 1:23Speaker 01

I didn't know that was a punchline. I thought it was more of a short story.

• 1:26H. Foley?

Look, sweeten that up a little bit, will ya? My co-host is coming at you from right next to me. He is the CEO of Are You Garbage. He is an international businessman, and a tough laugh, let me tell ya. Give it up for KJ, Kevin James Ryan, everybody.

• 2:21Speaker 03

  What a sweet intro, boys.

• 2:23H. Foley?

  A true swordsman.

• 2:24Speaker 03

What a true. I'm giving you guys.

• 2:26H. Foley?

  A comic.

• 2:27Speaker 03

I'm giving you crosspaws because I feel comfortable here. Like a golden retriever by a fire. You get crosspaws to start the show.

• 2:34Speaker 01

  Oh, he likes us.

• 2:35Speaker 03

  Yeah.

• 2:36Speaker 01

  I start scratching your ear.

• 2:37Speaker 03

He's relaxed. I might show my belly to show you I feel completely safe. Oh, Dan, big stretch.

• 2:45Speaker 01

  He's most comfortable.

• 2:47Speaker 03

Yeah, dude, good to be back.

• 2:48H. Foley?

You're not a watch guy, are you?

• 2:50Speaker 03

No. I have two, two thinner wrists.

• 2:52H. Foley?

  Is that what it is?

• 2:53Speaker 03

  Yeah.

• 2:53H. Foley?

You think you have thin wrists?

• 2:54Speaker 03

  I know it.

• 2:55Speaker 01

  You're a man's man.

• 2:56H. Foley?

  Who told you that?

• 2:56Speaker 03

Look at that, look at that.

• 2:57Speaker 01

Ah, there's a little, there's some space in there. Or maybe you just got long fingies.

• 3:01Speaker 03

  I think, I think, yeah, I'm, I'm spindly.

• 3:03H. Foley?

You do have long fingers. You never played the piano or guitar or nothing?

• 3:06Speaker 03

  Never.

• 3:07H. Foley?

  No bass?

• 3:08Speaker 03

Tried, dude, I would have fucking killed. I also only, I know I'd be good at the bass because I know how to move while playing the bass, which is this.

• 3:15Speaker 01

That's what it's all about. It's all, it's all rock. You have a good bebop going.

• 3:18Speaker 03

  Just one to two.

• 3:19H. Foley?

How about a head nod to the drummer? There you go, what's up?

• 3:22Speaker 01

Yeah. Say something about after the show.

• 3:24Speaker 03

And I'm very, the way my face is, I could probably play standup bass with a hat.

• 3:29Speaker 01

Uh huh, yeah. Yeah, tall enough.

• 3:34H. Foley?

I always thought that was just the cello.

• 3:37Speaker 01

  I'm not sure the difference.

• 3:38H. Foley?

  Yeah.

• 3:38Speaker 01

If I have to be honest with you.

• 3:39Speaker 03

  Aren't they all just violins?

• 3:41Speaker 01

I guess, I mean, to me, yeah.

• 3:42Speaker 03

Aren't we all just violins? Yeah, I never, never, but I don't have musical talent, so.

• 3:48H. Foley?

  Nothing.

• 3:49Speaker 03

Nothing. You, either one of you guys?

• 3:50H. Foley?

Play the guitar a little bit.

• 3:52Speaker 01

Oh, would you pay him to do this?

• 3:54H. Foley?

  I'd pick a banjo.

• 3:55Speaker 03

Have you ever played a song for a lady?

• 3:57H. Foley?

  Uh, yeah.

• 3:58Speaker 01

Uh, I don't know, have you heard Sunny Day by any chance?

• 4:04Speaker 03

Did you, did you, you've gotten pussy from playing the guitar?

• 4:07H. Foley?

  I wouldn't say.

• 4:07Speaker 01

He's got a couple of dicks from it.

• 4:10Speaker 03

Just a guy that goes, is this weird if I say I want you? Hey, I never heard anyone do Wonderwall like that. Can I suck your cock?

• 4:17Speaker 01

I want to suck you off, dude.

• 4:18H. Foley?

Now, definitely some jam sessions in the fraternity house.

• 4:22Speaker 03

Oh, man, you guys were locked in, huh?

• 4:24H. Foley?

  Woo, doing Disarm.

• 4:26Speaker 03

  Oh.

• 4:28H. Foley?

That's my kind of pumpkins right there.

• 4:29Speaker 03

Little pumpkins. If you're walking by that frat house, you go, you hear those queers?

• 4:35H. Foley?

Hear the first couple of chords, the come as you are.

• 4:37Speaker 01

  Must be the accounting frat.

• 4:38Speaker 03

Yeah, dude, I mean, did you, what would happen? How would, how would a, a jam sesh break out?

• 4:44H. Foley?

Jam sesh would break out, there was a couple of kids in the fraternity that were actually pretty good.

• 4:49Speaker 03

  Okay.

• 4:49H. Foley?

And at the time, I pushed myself off as a vocalist.

• 4:52Speaker 03

  No way.

• 4:54H. Foley?

More of a drug addict, but.

• 4:55Speaker 03

  You would sing?

• 4:56H. Foley?

  Sing.

• 4:57Speaker 03

  Did you ever?

• 4:58Speaker 01

He's got, I mean, this is crazy, you don't know this. He, this is like, this is like, this is like a sitcom buildup.

• 5:03Speaker 03

  Yeah.

• 5:04Speaker 01

  For, he's had a past.

• 5:05Speaker 03

It was like that, um, that, ah, fuck, I forgot who was doing the interview, but they wrote a sketch on SNL about, um, uh, oh, uh, Malaney wrote it for Keenan, about a sitcom where, uh, Little Richard keeps getting stuck. And it, this feels like a sitcom, you're right, it's like a sitcom.

• 5:22Speaker 01

  It's like.

• 5:22Speaker 03

Like a band's gonna come through and be like, anybody sing?

• 5:25Speaker 01

Hey, well, our car just broke down.

• 5:27H. Foley?

Hey, man, the dance is over.

• 5:28Speaker 03

  Yeah.

• 5:29H. Foley?

You should know a fat guy like that.

• 5:30Speaker 03

But I kind of feel like the cast member of the, of the sitcom that doesn't know that Foley can go.

• 5:34Speaker 01

Yeah, yeah, you're like, wait, what? This was in you the whole time?

• 5:37Speaker 03

I turned the corner and go, oh.

• 5:40Speaker 01

  This guy rocks.

• 5:40H. Foley?

You'll appreciate this cringe moment. Uh, there was a kid that was really good at guitar. I had already been kicked out of school, I was at theater school, I'm hanging out there on a Saturday.

• 5:50Speaker 01

As a musician, he was working out in the background, not so much the skill, but the, he needed, he needed the dark background to be the guy.

• 5:56Speaker 03

  Yeah, dude, you're outlaw persona.

• 5:58H. Foley?

Yeah, but the dude, uh, they, there was like a bunch of dudes smoking weed in one of the rooms, went in there and he was like, Foley, you can sing, right? I'm like, yeah, man, I can sing.

• 6:05Speaker 01

Bet your fucking ass I can.

• 6:09Speaker 03

Was it the Superbad scene? These eyes, these eyes have seen a lot of love but they're never gonna-

• 6:16H. Foley?

  Great song right there.

• 6:16Speaker 03

  Yeah.

• 6:17H. Foley?

Who was that? Electric Light Orchestra?

• 6:19Speaker 03

  No.

• 6:19H. Foley?

  Uh, Emerson, Lincoln, Palmer?

• 6:21Speaker 03

  No, it is-

• 6:23H. Foley?

God damn it, it's the guy from the Traveling Wilburys, right?

• 6:26Speaker 01

I haven't known three of the bands. That's a New Mexican ring crass?

• 6:31Speaker 03

  Was that Los Lobos?

• 6:33H. Foley?

Wasn't Irv Gotti, I can bet you that.

• 6:34Speaker 03

  R.I.P.

• 6:35Speaker 01

  Rest in peace, big dog.

• 6:36Speaker 03

  It's murder.

• 6:38H. Foley?

And the dude played, uh, not creep, um, fake plastic trees. And I sang that.

• 6:46Speaker 03

Oh dude, that was your, that was you getting jumped into a gang?

• 6:50Speaker 03

That was you sashaying into a gang?

• 6:52H. Foley?

  The pussies.

• 6:54Speaker 03

I got lost there for a second. I thought Thom Yorke was in the room.

• 6:57H. Foley?

As a 90's kid, man, I mean, they hit us over the head with that shit. We weren't ready for that.

• 7:01Speaker 03

  The radio.

• 7:02H. Foley?

  All that sweet stuff?

• 7:03Speaker 03

It's one of my favorite clips I watch on the road on YouTube is-

• 7:05H. Foley?

  Patrice?

• 7:06Speaker 03

  Yeah, Patrice explaining why.

• 7:07H. Foley?

That's been coming up a lot.

• 7:08Speaker 01

  That's been making the rounds.

• 7:09Speaker 03

White guys, white guys clicking the creep?

• 7:11Speaker 01

  Uh huh.

• 7:11H. Foley?

  Yeah.

• 7:11Speaker 01

That is a thing where you're like, man, he wasn't, he was dead on.

• 7:14H. Foley?

  Dead on.

• 7:15Speaker 03

  I mean, like a detective.

• 7:16Speaker 01

It's like, to the point where it's like not funny, where you're like, whoa, that's good.

• 7:20Speaker 03

You solve the case. This is gonna drive me nuts, Foley. I have to know-

• 7:23H. Foley?

  Please.

• 7:23Speaker 03

Hold on, I have it, I have it in my phone.

• 7:26H. Foley?

  Go ahead.

• 7:27Speaker 01

The Guess Who? The Guess Who?

• 7:28H. Foley?

  Ah, the Guess Who.

• 7:29Speaker 01

  Off the album, Wheatfield Soul.

• 7:31H. Foley?

Look at you, great job, Lukey!

• 7:33Speaker 01

Fucking new guy Luke earning his fucking key.

• 7:34H. Foley?

Do yourself a favor, put down whatever you listen to, to listen to one of them albums.

• 7:41H. Foley?

  Yeah.

• 7:41Speaker 03

Even the way it comes in.

• 7:42H. Foley?

  So good.

• 7:43Speaker 01

  Smooth.

• 7:44Speaker 03

  It is great.

• 7:44H. Foley?

Shit was alright back then, man.

• 7:46Speaker 03

  Good job, the Guess Who.

• 7:47H. Foley?

It was alright. I've been listening to, uh, Don't Walk Away Renee, you know that song? Don't walk away Renee.

• 7:53Speaker 03

No, but I'll get into it.

• 7:54Speaker 01

I gotta, I gotta put that together.

• 7:58Speaker 03

  I was on the road-

• 7:58Speaker 01

Have you heard it? It's just the name of the song?

• 8:00Speaker 03

I was on the, have you ever confused a song for another band for like decades?

• 8:06H. Foley?

Thinking like, oh, this is so and so?

• 8:08Speaker 03

Yeah, uh, there, we were, I was on the road with Sagalow, we were listening to, um-

• 8:13H. Foley?

  Shout out to Sag Daddy?

• 8:14Speaker 03

  Baby, Baby Come Back?

• 8:16H. Foley?

  Baby Come Back?

• 8:17Speaker 03

And I was like, oh, it's Hall & Oates. I was sure it was Hall & Oates. It's not Hall & Oates.

• 8:23Speaker 01

  A one hit wonder?

• 8:24H. Foley?

  That is Hall & Oates.

• 8:25Speaker 03

No, it's not. Baby Come Back?

• 8:28H. Foley?

  Who is it?

• 8:28Speaker 01

  I feel like he's Hispanic.

• 8:29H. Foley?

Don't say it's corn or something like that.

• 8:30Speaker 03

  It's Player.

• 8:31H. Foley?

  Player?

• 8:32Speaker 03

  Yeah.

• 8:32Speaker 01

  One hit wonder?

• 8:33H. Foley?

  Who the hell is Player?

• 8:34Speaker 03

I think he might be a one hit wonder.

• 8:35Speaker 01

  I think I, I, I kinda felt that.

• 8:37Speaker 03

But Baby Come Back, I would've-

• 8:38Speaker 01

  Baby Come Back?

• 8:39Speaker 03

I would've sworn it was, it was fucking-

• 8:42H. Foley?

Did Darryl Hall write that maybe and sell it?

• 8:45Speaker 03

That, I would like to know that, cause that would make me feel less crazy.

• 8:48Speaker 01

  That's pretty good if you-

• 8:49Speaker 04

  They do a cover.

• 8:50H. Foley?

  Who does a cover?

• 8:51Speaker 04

  Uh, Hall & Oates.

• 8:52Speaker 03

  Oh.

• 8:54Speaker 01

  So you're not wrong?

• 8:55Speaker 03

So, okay, we're not wrong. So they have done a version of Baby Come Back?

• 8:58Speaker 01

It's also, if you Google, "Who sings Baby Come Back?", Hall & Oates should come up.

• 9:02Speaker 03

  I mean, that was-

• 9:03Speaker 01

  They come up, yeah.

• 9:03Speaker 04

  Yeah.

• 9:04Speaker 03

  But I mean, this is-

• 9:04Speaker 01

  What do you use?

• 9:05Speaker 03

But then when you listen to Player, these are, this is Player, you're like, "Oh, I never-"

• 9:09H. Foley?

  Sharp looking dudes.

• 9:10Speaker 03

Yeah. But they, they do a, they do a better version than Hall & Oates?

• 9:14H. Foley?

  Huh. It's pretty good.

• 9:15Speaker 01

Add it to the road playlist.

• 9:17H. Foley?

I get that, I get the, I had the same confusion with, um, Back in the New York Groove.

• 9:22Speaker 03

  Yeah, Ace Frehley from Kiss.

• 9:23H. Foley?

Ace Frehley and then, um, Hello was the other band, the original band that did it.

• 9:28Speaker 03

  No way!

• 9:29H. Foley?

  Yeah.

• 9:29Speaker 03

  I didn't know that was a cover.

• 9:30H. Foley?

  I tell you right now-

• 9:31Speaker 03

  Dude.

• 9:32H. Foley?

  Their version's better.

• 9:33Speaker 03

  Really?

• 9:34H. Foley?

  Nothing against Mr. Frehley.

• 9:35Speaker 03

Hey, hey Kitty Cat, hey Mr. Kitty Cat, no disrespect. Kiss fans-

• 9:41Speaker 01

This is really turning into, that's what I call music volume 488.

• 9:44Speaker 03

This is the, this is the most 2D's conversation possible.

• 9:48H. Foley?

I know, Soder likes, Soder's a big 90's music guy. I remember you telling the story-

• 9:53Speaker 01

  Soder's a big 90's guy.

• 9:54Speaker 03

  Ah, man.

• 9:55Speaker 01

  90's culture, he's-

• 9:56Speaker 03

  I'm, I'm trapped there emotionally.

• 9:57Speaker 01

For the listener, he came in and goes, "I just, I just had to pause Walker, Texas Ranger."

• 10:01Speaker 03

I'm back in. I'm back in, dude. WTR. It's a WTR.

• 10:06Speaker 01

Go back, what year would it be?

• 10:08H. Foley?

  Walkin' drinkin' a Slim Fast.

• 10:09Speaker 01

  92, you just go back.

• 10:10Speaker 03

  That I'm locked in?

• 10:11Speaker 01

  You're locked in.

• 10:12Speaker 03

  I probably would say-

• 10:13Speaker 01

  You're what, 40?

• 10:14Speaker 03

  Yeah, I'm 41. So I'd probably say 95?

• 10:16Speaker 01

  Woo!

• 10:17Speaker 03

  95. Last year, the 49ers won a Super Bowl. They need to unlock me. I won't be free until the Niners hold up their sixth trophy.

• 10:25H. Foley?

  The first time I connected-

• 10:26Speaker 03

And then I'll be like, "Thank you."

• 10:28H. Foley?

The first time I connected with you, we hadn't met yet. You were on a podcast.

• 10:35Speaker 01

  That's weird.

• 10:35H. Foley?

And you were talking about, uh, I was like, oh, this guy gets it. You were on a podcast and you were talking about being drunk and listening to Porch alone in the dark, smoking a cigarette.

• 10:46Speaker 03

  Oh, yeah. Pearl Jam's Porch.

• 10:48Speaker 01

  Been there.

• 10:49Speaker 03

  Yeah. Pearl Jam.

• 10:50Speaker 01

It would've been black for me.

• 10:50Speaker 03

It was Pearl Jam Release is what it was.

• 10:54H. Foley?

  A song. Uh, Release Me.

• 10:56Speaker 03

I mean, I'm talking about windowless room, smoking cigarettes in the windowless room. No ventilation.

• 11:02Speaker 01

  Hot box and cig.

• 11:03Speaker 03

Hot box and ciggies. Blackout, 3:45 in the morning, gotta open.

• 11:07Speaker 01

You got a door open or anything?

• 11:08Speaker 03

Nope. Gotta open cafe at 10:00 in the morning. Had to be, had to be on, in my waiting blacks, in the full blacks, on the cafe at 10:00 a.m.

• 11:18Speaker 01

  And she ain't coming back.

• 11:19Speaker 03

And, and Release and his, and Daddy's still dead. And I used to just fucking.

• 11:24Speaker 01

  What?

• 11:25Speaker 03

  I would apologize.

• 11:26H. Foley?

That kid was like 21 when he wrote that shit. That's crazy.

• 11:28Speaker 03

  It was crazy. Yeah.

• 11:29Speaker 01

  Catch a movie or something.

• 11:33Speaker 03

It was, uh, those, I mean, those, that's what I miss about drinking is having those nights where you wake up and you, you know what also I would do, real trash shit. Uh, I got into the wire right before I quit smoking. So I, the DVDs, that's how long ago it was.

• 11:46Speaker 01

I had them. I'd only had season four.

• 11:48Speaker 03

  Shout out.

• 11:49Speaker 01

  Had that thing memorized.

• 11:50Speaker 03

Shout out Los, my friend that let me borrow all, all five seasons. Don't think I ever returned them.

• 11:54Speaker 01

  Sure.

• 11:55Speaker 03

Probably owe him some hard media.

• 11:57Speaker 01

  Mm-hmm.

• 11:58Speaker 03

But I used, I just moved in with Vecchione, uh, my roommate for 10 years. Go Birds for him.

• 12:05Speaker 01

  Go Birds!

• 12:05Speaker 03

We're recording this before the Super Bowl.

• 12:07Speaker 01

This is releasing Super Bowl Sunday. Go Birds.

• 12:08Speaker 03

  Fuck the Chiefs.

• 12:09Speaker 01

  Yeah!

• 12:10Speaker 03

I say that as a 49er fan. The only thing that could bring 49er fans and Eagle fans together is a common hatred of the Chiefs.

• 12:16Speaker 01

  You're not wrong.

• 12:17Speaker 03

I'm going over to Big Jay's and I was like, I'm totally on board with the Eagles. I watched the 49ers. Michael Che got me a ticket to the Super Bowl last year and I watched the Niners lose in person.

• 12:26Speaker 01

  Brutal.

• 12:26Speaker 03

  Fucking horrible.

• 12:27H. Foley?

Played a lot of highlights and missed calls this week from that Super Bowl.

• 12:30Speaker 03

Yeah, a lot of, oh, they showed the hold. A lot of holds on Nick Bosa and fucking Fred Warner, but.

• 12:36H. Foley?

  Just saying.

• 12:37Speaker 03

When I first moved in with Vecchione, you know, when you like have, when you first move in with a guy, you can't really criticize?

• 12:43Speaker 01

  Sure.

• 12:44Speaker 03

  It's all note taking?

• 12:45Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 12:46H. Foley?

  Especially him, he'd pin you.

• 12:47Speaker 03

  I mean, dude, he would.

• 12:48Speaker 01

He'd fuck have you half Nelson.

• 12:49H. Foley?

We're, we're both petrified of Vecchione.

• 12:50Speaker 03

Oh, my God. Single leg takedown would ruin a whole day.

• 12:53Speaker 01

I've only been, I've only been one on one with him once, and it was at Casey and Robbie's wedding up in, and every other time I need a buff, I need big man to buffer because they're the same age, they can't.

• 13:04Speaker 03

  Yeah.

• 13:05H. Foley?

It's like eating dinner with your stepdad.

• 13:07Speaker 01

He's just very stoic and like, he's the funniest guy, best, he's, I love his comedy, he's so funny, but just a stoic man.

• 13:12Speaker 03

  It would, you.

• 13:13Speaker 01

And I bumped into him getting a coffee in the lobby and it was just me and him, dude. He's like pouring in like non dairy creamer and I'm like, how you doing? He's like, good, good, went for a hike. I'm like, I'm like fucking rubbing, you know, I'm like.

• 13:25Speaker 03

  He trains like Batman.

• 13:26Speaker 01

  Yeah, it's bad, dude.

• 13:27Speaker 03

  He honestly.

• 13:27Speaker 01

  He's like, he's a man.

• 13:29Speaker 03

He trains like Batman. You would think that he was out at night cracking heads, saving people.

• 13:34Speaker 01

  Mm hmm.

• 13:34H. Foley?

You doing good in school? You all right?

• 13:36Speaker 03

  Yeah, it's so funny.

• 13:36H. Foley?

  It's cool, Mr. Vecchione.

• 13:37Speaker 03

He's stirring his coffee. How's your mom? Yeah? Seasonal depression clear up?

• 13:44H. Foley?

How's your mom is a power move.

• 13:46Speaker 03

  Yeah.

• 13:46Speaker 01

  How's the parent? Yeah.

• 13:47Speaker 03

  How's your parents? But we.

• 13:48Speaker 01

  How's the old man?

• 13:49Speaker 03

Yeah. Yeah, we were just starting to live together and I would watch The Wire when I'd come home from spots. And I was drunk and I would watch an episode and McNulty would start smoking and I would.

• 14:03Speaker 01

  Light one up?

• 14:04Speaker 03

Just light one up and Vecchione would come home and like open the door and I'd be like, sorry, dude, I'm watching. And watching him be like, you know, after a couple of times, he's like, you gotta stop doing that.

• 14:14Speaker 01

  That's crazy.

• 14:15Speaker 03

Cause I was just smoking in the living room.

• 14:16Speaker 01

Dude, character, you're doing ca- same time character sigs is wild.

• 14:19Speaker 03

  It's like.

• 14:20Speaker 01

I'm a, I love a good song, you're in the car, a good song sig or a traffic sig, big fan.

• 14:25Speaker 03

  A character sig?

• 14:25Speaker 01

But a character heater is wild.

• 14:27Speaker 03

You gotta, you gotta meld your brain right. It's like jerking off to porn pretending you're the guy.

• 14:32Speaker 01

No, that's immediately where my head went.

• 14:34Speaker 03

  Yes, that's exactly it.

• 14:36Speaker 01

You're in the Wire POV, just smoking.

• 14:40Speaker 03

  With a Jameson?

• 14:42Speaker 01

It's like Doom, just wandering around.

• 14:44Speaker 03

Oh, no, it's season two, I'm on the boat. This is the boat moving?

• 14:49H. Foley?

That's all right. Getting drunk by yourself, listening to music, crying, smoking cigarettes is a pretty good time.

• 14:55Speaker 03

It was a staple of my life.

• 14:56H. Foley?

Pretty good time. And I tell you, that's what I'm saying, that 90's stuff came out of nowhere. I wasn't a touch of my feelings like that.

• 15:04Speaker 03

Is that how you did was through song?

• 15:06H. Foley?

Billy Corrigan, man, he got me. He's gotta be worth a couple of bucks.

• 15:10Speaker 03

Yeah, I think he's doing alright.

• 15:12Speaker 01

Yeah, we do. You mean that rock star?

• 15:14H. Foley?

Melancholy Infinite Sadness, that's one of the top selling double CDs of all time.

• 15:19Speaker 03

I love that you really do have like a prospector town brain where you go, well, he's struggling rich.

• 15:25Speaker 01

  Yeah, that's a double CD.

• 15:26H. Foley?

Well, he found that vein back in 23, and then that's been paying for him. I came west from Illinois with an idea.

• 15:36Speaker 01

You and your big record money coming in here.

• 15:38H. Foley?

  Woo.

• 15:40Speaker 03

  Foley whistles piles of money.

• 15:42H. Foley?

Woo, look at you, look at all that money. That sure could buy some hooch.

• 15:49H. Foley?

Yeah, are you always a sad man? But you got all that gold.

• 15:55Speaker 03

He's like, well, record, record deals aren't really what the same anymore.

• 15:58H. Foley?

Right now, what they used to, those guys were moving tickets back then.

• 16:01Speaker 03

  Yeah, they were.

• 16:02H. Foley?

  Cutting deals.

• 16:03Speaker 03

Yeah, that was nuts. People were actually paying attention to shows. Dude, I found a video on my laptop uh, from Lollapalooza 2013. 2013.

• 16:12Speaker 01

That sounds way older of a sentence than it really should be.

• 16:15Speaker 03

Yeah, I went to go see Queens of the Stone Age at Lollapalooza in 2013.

• 16:18H. Foley?

That's a good looking guy right there.

• 16:19Speaker 03

  Love Josh Ami.

• 16:20Speaker 01

  Jesus.

• 16:21Speaker 03

He's my favorite. And uh, I was recording it on my phone. But I was, I wasn't recording the concert. I was just like doing kinda like, hey, like no one was on their phone.

• 16:32Speaker 01

  Sure, locked in.

• 16:33Speaker 03

No one was having their, everyone was just watching the show, like talking to each other, dancing.

• 16:37Speaker 01

  Getting them going.

• 16:38Speaker 03

It was fucking, that was 12 years ago. Completely different. That's crazy.

• 16:42H. Foley?

Yeah, but it's talking about BlueChew, baby.

• 16:44Speaker 01

Knock, knock, who's there? Boner alert.

• 16:46H. Foley?

That's right. Don't act like you don't know BlueChew.

• 16:49Speaker 01

I, I know, oh, I know BlueChew. Talk about the plug, daddy-o.

• 16:53H. Foley?

I know it well. Keeping me, that's a pain in the goddamn right with BlueChew, you kidding me? Stuff's fantastic.

• 17:00Speaker 01

  Sure.

• 17:00H. Foley?

Gang, if you don't know about BlueChew, do yourself a favor. Listen, you get a little bit older, you put on a couple of pounds.

• 17:06Speaker 01

  Not me specifically.

• 17:08H. Foley?

  Things don't operate.

• 17:08Speaker 01

You wear pink Hawaiian shirts, you got a bad haircut, your beard goes gray.

• 17:13H. Foley?

Things don't operate the way they used to. Everybody needs a little help, little something in the toolbox, if you know what I mean.

• 17:19Speaker 01

  Hate that.

• 17:19H. Foley?

I mean, for all you fishermen out there, we all got our favorite lure, right?

• 17:24Speaker 01

He needs some power bait from time to time. They're not biting on the old hot dog chunks.

• 17:29H. Foley?

I'm a night crawler man myself. Get over there to BlueChew. Get yourself straightened out, man. Spice it up a little bit. Do your thing.

• 19:46Speaker 01

Did you ever fall into any of those cameras like, uh, cause you were a comic, you had to record sets or did you ever have a cam?

• 19:52Speaker 03

  Flip cam?

• 19:53Speaker 01

  The flip cam was big.

• 19:54Speaker 03

Flip cam was the first one I got. I got it in a gift bag from a comedy festival and I was like, now I can record my sets.

• 20:00Speaker 01

Never. That's the one that had the USB in it like it's just.

• 20:02H. Foley?

It would hang off the back of your computer.

• 20:04Speaker 03

It would unchop where you would do the release button and it'd go like, and it'd flip up.

• 20:08Speaker 01

I remember showing up to the Raven with one of them and I just kinda, we were just becoming friends and he went, what the fuck is that?

• 20:14H. Foley?

We started filming. We started filming sketches on that.

• 20:17Speaker 03

  Really?

• 20:18Speaker 01

You're like, you own a production company?

• 20:20Speaker 03

That's really funny. You got real media.

• 20:23Speaker 01

This guy's in big tech over here.

• 20:25Speaker 03

  Ted Turner's kid?

• 20:27H. Foley?

Ooh, must take a lot of money to have a camera like that.

• 20:30Speaker 03

You must have found Silva. Oh, Silva must have been in that back river bed. Yeah, it was.

• 20:36Speaker 01

Foley, early Foley and still kinda now, was always one idea away from, why aren't they cutting the check?

• 20:42Speaker 03

  Yeah.

• 20:43Speaker 01

And they, they was never defined who, who's cutting the check and why or how much, but he's always in his head, one pivot away.

• 20:51H. Foley?

  I'm writing hits over here.

• 20:53Speaker 01

  From a big check.

• 20:54Speaker 03

He goes, this thing, this thing goes the way I want it to, you won't be seeing me around, won't be seeing me around these parts.

• 21:01Speaker 01

The only times we've shot something, he would call, cut the check already.

• 21:07Speaker 03

I love that. That dude, that's betting on yourself.

• 21:09H. Foley?

That'd be a six movie deal here.

• 21:11Speaker 03

Yeah. Why am I not on a lot in Hollywood?

• 21:15Speaker 01

Dude, meanwhile, we're like, we're splitting a meatball hoagie in my car.

• 21:20Speaker 03

This is eating Subway? Nah, dude, this is it. This is gonna be the one. It, um.

• 21:25Speaker 01

  I just got lightheaded.

• 21:26Speaker 03

  Yeah.

• 21:26H. Foley?

You listen to any new shit? You, you down with the new what's going on?

• 21:30Speaker 03

What do you mean? Like any, uh?

• 21:31H. Foley?

  Olivia Rodrigo?

• 21:32Speaker 01

  What's the last album?

• 21:33Speaker 03

  She's a child.

• 21:34Speaker 01

What's the last album you purchased? Not of like, I wanna go back and buy this.

• 21:38Speaker 03

Um, the new, the latest, uh, Sturgill Simpson, Johnny Blues guys.

• 21:43Speaker 01

  Okay.

• 21:44Speaker 03

Great album. I think Sturgill Simpson's one of the best artists out there. Yeah, yeah, like a little, it's like a blue grassy country pop.

• 21:52H. Foley?

  But they're new.

• 21:52Speaker 03

Not pop, it's just rock, uh, Sturgill Simpson?

• 21:55H. Foley?

  Yeah.

• 21:55Speaker 03

He's been out for a while.

• 21:56H. Foley?

  Okay.

• 21:56Speaker 03

He's unbelievable. He's won a couple Grammys. He, uh, gets shunned by the CMAs unfairly. But I think he, um, you know, you go see one of his shows and you're like, this motherfucker puts on a show.

• 22:06H. Foley?

  Yeah.

• 22:07Speaker 03

And I think that's where we're at. There's like people that are really good at publicizing a product. And there's people that are good at delivering a product.

• 22:13H. Foley?

  Like that Gary Clark Jr.

• 22:15Speaker 03

  Unbelievable.

• 22:16H. Foley?

  Crazy.

• 22:16Speaker 03

  Virtuoso.

• 22:17H. Foley?

  Yeah.

• 22:17Speaker 03

  Also check out Marcus King.

• 22:19H. Foley?

  Yeah.

• 22:20Speaker 03

  Fucking rock.

• 22:20H. Foley?

Long hair kid. He's friends with Burt.

• 22:22Speaker 03

  Yeah, he's a fan.

• 22:22H. Foley?

  They're always together, yeah.

• 22:23Speaker 03

  Fan of comedy?

• 22:24H. Foley?

  Yeah.

• 22:24Speaker 03

  Yeah, I'm buddies with him.

• 22:25H. Foley?

  Just saw him somewhere.

• 22:26Speaker 03

  Very talented.

• 22:27H. Foley?

Was he in New York recently? Played at the Blue Note or something?

• 22:30Speaker 03

Yeah, he did a week at the Blue Note.

• 22:31H. Foley?

  He's killing it.

• 22:31Speaker 03

Yeah, he shreds. He's like, you watch him play the guitar and you're like, holy shit.

• 22:36H. Foley?

  Yeah.

• 22:36Speaker 03

But, uh, yeah, I think, um, you know, the latest Queens of the Stone Age album that came out last year, Ti- uh, Time's New Roman. But yeah, I'm like, uh, I love music. I love, I've never had any talent at it, so I can purely enjoy it.

• 22:50H. Foley?

  Shout out to VH1.

• 22:51Speaker 03

  Ah.

• 22:52H. Foley?

I was more of a VH1 man in my later years.

• 22:54Speaker 03

I took a meeting with MTV fucking years ago.

• 22:56H. Foley?

You worked for them for a while?

• 22:58Speaker 03

Yeah, I was on Guy Code.

• 22:58H. Foley?

I remember. You, dude, when we moved up here, you were like, you're like, how the fuck do you get on Guy?

• 23:05Speaker 03

  Oh, Guy Code was hilarious.

• 23:07H. Foley?

That was, but for a young, for a young comic, you guys were like. Schultz-y. That's the easiest way to go about, not the easiest way, but.

• 23:13Speaker 03

Chris and Schultz were like the, the main characters. Them with, uh, Little Duval, Charlamagne, John Gabris.

• 23:20H. Foley?

  Yeah, that guy.

• 23:22Speaker 03

Jordan Carlos, uh, Melanie Iglesias. There were like a bunch of people on that show that were like common staples. I replaced Julian McCullough. He was on season one and two. I was on season three and four. You know, like in the white guy position, white tight end. You know, get some receptions, but you're mostly there for blocking.

• 23:41H. Foley?

Hey, good pass blocker. Cooper Dejean.

• 23:43Speaker 03

  Yeah, nah, nah.

• 23:44H. Foley?

  Shout out to the kid.

• 23:45Speaker 03

Yeah, we're putting helmet on chests, dude. We're fucking, we're hitting. And, um, and then Matt Bruce, Matthew Bressard, I think, replaced me.

• 23:53H. Foley?

  No kidding?

• 23:54Speaker 03

I did one season as an alcoholic and one season in recovery.

• 23:57H. Foley?

  There you go. Wow.

• 23:58Speaker 03

Yeah. And my season in recovery, I'm like, what is it? Is it gonna be, if I say that you share your feelings? Like, those are the interviews.

• 24:04Speaker 01

Should I admit all my faults and apologize?

• 24:07Speaker 03

Hey, is it breaking guy code to have empathy? And you're like, no, have empathy.

• 24:12Speaker 01

It's also you can tell what step you're on by the episode.

• 24:14Speaker 03

And then apologizing the next episode, hey, I'm at nine, I'm sorry.

• 24:18H. Foley?

You have that Styrofoam cup of coffee in your hand?

• 24:20Speaker 03

Dude, I drank so much coffee and I'd go smoke cigarettes, call a guy that fought in Vietnam to come back up. Talk to a guy on the phone outside who fucking was in Da Nang.

• 24:29H. Foley?

Was that your sponsor, was the guy from?

• 24:32Speaker 01

It was my Uncle Larry, pretty cool.

• 24:33Speaker 03

Yeah, he's a goddamn it, go back up there.

• 24:35Speaker 01

  That's the guy you want.

• 24:36Speaker 03

Go back up there and tell him to hide a boner, you better put it in your belt loop. Or Charlie will fucking blow it off with a jumping Betty. But, uh, we, uh...

• 24:46Speaker 01

Just when you think it's over, he tags it again.

• 24:49Speaker 03

But we, um, it was funny because I really was like, I started being like, this show's not for me. I remember the question, because they would sit there with the producer and they would like ask you questions.

• 24:59Speaker 01

This guy just got real fucking comfortable over here.

• 25:01Speaker 03

And they were like, yeah, let me, remember?

• 25:04Speaker 01

No one's ever done that, I may fucking tell you.

• 25:06Speaker 03

Like, can I take my shoes off?

• 25:08H. Foley?

You ever been in show business, fatty, huh?

• 25:10Speaker 03

I'm gonna teach you a little about a little company called Viacom.

• 25:13Speaker 01

Back in the good old days.

• 25:15Speaker 03

They're what, there's what's called the conglomerate. They gave careers to everybody, Chrissy D, Andrew Schultz, they're handing out TV shows. But they don't like your boy, because I'm up on, no.

• 25:28Speaker 03

There was a moment where Andy Stuckey, who I love to death, shout out Andy Stuckey. He asked me this question and I think I was just in a mood. And he was like, is it breaking guy code to stretch at the gym? And I went, let me guess, half the cast said it was [BLEEP]. And I go, why is [BLEEP] sex on your brain that much? If you're worried about stretching, you think you'd rather have a blown hammy than fucking worry about looking [BLEEP]? And Andy was like, alright dude.

• 25:58H. Foley?

Okay, that's, uh, Dan Soder, everybody.

• 25:59Speaker 03

Exactly it, that was the whole energy where I was like...

• 26:02Speaker 01

  That's a wrap on Soder.

• 26:03H. Foley?

  We're back with TRL.

• 26:04Speaker 03

Maybe I should drink. Because when I was drunk, I was like, eh, there is no guy, this guy code's taking care of your bros. I went out drinking with the editors one night.

• 26:14H. Foley?

Hey man, take it easy, we're so proactive here.

• 26:17Speaker 03

  This is for teenagers.

• 26:18Speaker 01

  It's a nine-minute show.

• 26:19Speaker 03

I go, if you start kissing and you take the condom off and she doesn't say anything, then what is that guy code? They go, "That's a law." He's breaking laws.

• 26:29H. Foley?

I don't even know if you kill a guy and there's no witnesses.

• 26:33Speaker 03

You break a guy, go, "You tell the cops."

• 26:35H. Foley?

Dan, we're gonna slide you into Headbanger Ball next weekend.

• 26:37Speaker 03

Hey, Pinfield needs to have a word.

• 26:39H. Foley?

Shout out to Pinfield, we've been doing it forever.

• 26:41Speaker 03

  Just had a stroke.

• 26:42H. Foley?

  Did he?

• 26:43Speaker 03

  Yeah.

• 26:43H. Foley?

Woo, he had a great voice.

• 26:44Speaker 01

Did he get the VH1 newsletter?

• 26:46Speaker 03

Guys, I stand to say, by the way, Kennedy, knee deep at Fox News, that was the wildest one.

• 26:54Speaker 01

It's like you just went to the reunion or something.

• 26:57Speaker 03

Firecom does a lunch every year, you get to see everybody. Downtown Judy Brown's still doing great.

• 27:02H. Foley?

  Downtown Judy Brown.

• 27:04Speaker 01

  Pucks there?

• 27:05Speaker 03

  Dan Cortez.

• 27:06H. Foley?

Oh, don't get me started. Tony, Tony.

• 27:10Speaker 01

  Tony.

• 27:11H. Foley?

  I loved him in that.

• 27:12Speaker 03

  What, in Seinfeld?

• 27:12H. Foley?

  Oh, come on.

• 27:14Speaker 03

  I loved him.

• 27:14H. Foley?

  A good looking kid, too.

• 27:15Speaker 03

  MTV Sports.

• 27:16Speaker 01

  Yeah, he's great.

• 27:17H. Foley?

  Of course.

• 27:18Speaker 01

Um, alright, all this fucking, uh, this is neither here nor there, it was reminiscing all these old TV figureheads.

• 27:24Speaker 03

One time, I met, I'm walking through the hallway.

• 27:27Speaker 01

Dan's gonna single-handedly bring down the industry.

• 27:29Speaker 03

I go, I turn the corner, Kurt Loda is giving sloppy top.

• 27:34H. Foley?

Kurt Loda was breaking stories back then. Without MTV News, duh, duh, duh, hit, I'm bad at it.

• 27:40Speaker 03

I will tell you right now, MTV News was better than any form of modern journalism we currently have.

• 27:48H. Foley?

  You heard it here first.

• 27:49Speaker 01

  You're not wrong.

• 27:51Speaker 03

  What's up, world sway?

• 27:53Speaker 01

What's up, world, this is sway.

• 27:54Speaker 03

You know how many stories he broke?

• 27:55Speaker 01

  Uh huh.

• 27:56H. Foley?

  Sure.

• 27:56Speaker 01

Yeah, I mean, that was, uh, when I hate, I was too young, I didn't want the new, you guys are a little old, I didn't want the news, I wanted the videos.

• 28:04Speaker 03

  Yeah.

• 28:04Speaker 01

So, knew that came on, I'd be like, "That is time to go get re-up on my Diet Coke or my Slim Fast."

• 28:09Speaker 03

The second I saw those typewriter thing, dook, dook, dook, dook, dook, I knew a rapper got killed.

• 28:14H. Foley?

  Yeah.

• 28:15Speaker 03

How many times you saw that typewriter thing and they're like, "Rapper's dead."

• 28:18H. Foley?

  Yeah, Kurt Cobain.

• 28:19Speaker 03

They should have done that with Irv Go- Yeah, and Kurt Cobain.

• 28:21H. Foley?

  Yeah, bad, that was bad.

• 28:23Speaker 03

They should have done that with Irv Gotti.

• 28:24Speaker 01

More of a Kirk O. Bangs kinda guy.

• 28:26Speaker 03

  Oh.

• 28:28Speaker 01

  That's a, is that a rapper?

• 28:29H. Foley?

  Yeah.

• 28:29Speaker 03

  Is Kirk O. Bang?

• 28:30Speaker 01

  Kirk, I think it's Kirk O.

• 28:32H. Foley?

He had a song, I think.

• 28:33Speaker 01

Yeah, as a rapper. His name's Kirk O. Bangs.

• 28:36Speaker 03

  That's fun.

• 28:36Speaker 01

That's pretty good. Come on, what are you doing here?

• 28:38Speaker 03

  You're naming yourself that.

• 28:41Speaker 01

  That's pretty good.

• 28:41Speaker 03

That is really funny that you name it close to a very other celebrity.

• 28:45Speaker 01

  His real name was Arthur.

• 28:46Speaker 03

  Kirk O. Bain? Kirk O. B.

• 28:48Speaker 01

See if you get, see if you get a spelling and a phonetic pronunciation on that.

• 28:52Speaker 03

  That is so fucking funny.

• 28:53Speaker 01

Cause I remember like he's bad. I thought it was like AI or something and then he, you know.

• 28:57Speaker 03

  I'm Heave Pin.

• 28:58Speaker 01

I knew it was a setup.

• 28:59H. Foley?

  He's into trap music.

• 29:00Speaker 03

I'm Heave Pin Pood. You go Steve Winwood? Heave Pin.

• 29:04Speaker 01

  Oh, that's a deep cut.

• 29:05H. Foley?

  He had a run.

• 29:06Speaker 01

  Terry Garcia.

• 29:07Speaker 03

Terry Garcia is so funny. No, please call me Terry Garcia.

• 29:10H. Foley?

  Steve Winwood.

• 29:11Speaker 01

What do you, what do you got?

• 29:12Speaker 04

He had a run from like, in like the 2010's.

• 29:15Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 29:15Speaker 04

Drank in my cup, keep it trill, work some.

• 29:19Speaker 01

  That's when I was in a club.

• 29:20Speaker 03

Yeah, you are. This is a different Kevin.

• 29:22Speaker 01

I was at Red Sky at Blue Martini.

• 29:25Speaker 03

  God. Just, absolutely.

• 29:27H. Foley?

  Pinnacle whipped cream for everybody.

• 29:29Speaker 01

  Check me at dental.

• 29:30Speaker 03

Oh my God, you knew Bottle Girls.

• 29:32Speaker 01

  I knew, yeah. I knew.

• 29:35Speaker 03

That was crazy. Were you heavy into the clubs?

• 29:38Speaker 01

Uh, no. I tried. That's what was kinda cool.

• 29:42Speaker 03

  How long did you try?

• 29:43Speaker 01

I didn't try. My brother, my older brother kinda was, five years older than me, four or five years older than me, so he would go to the clubs.

• 29:50H. Foley?

Your crew did that because a couple of your boys that had bars tried to like set that up.

• 29:56Speaker 01

  What do you mean?

• 29:57H. Foley?

  Like have like.

• 29:58Speaker 01

Couple of my boys that had bars. You make it sound like I'm in the mob or something.

• 30:02Speaker 03

  Yeah, you know.

• 30:03Speaker 01

  Couple, couple of the guys.

• 30:04Speaker 03

You worked in the restaurant industry?

• 30:05H. Foley?

I remember being in like bottle service situations with you and your friends.

• 30:11Speaker 01

  I've never paid for one.

• 30:13Speaker 03

  Damn, you gotta like that.

• 30:14H. Foley?

  I'll get the mixers.

• 30:15Speaker 01

No, I just never had the money. So like, well, there was this one club, there was this one club that uh, my brother would go to and he would get a bottle of vodka and if they didn't finish it, they would cork it for you and keep it. And I found out I would go.

• 30:30Speaker 03

  What, like store credit?

• 30:32Speaker 01

Yeah, just go, ah, you know. Didn't finish it, we'll like put it in the back.

• 30:34Speaker 03

You mind if I come by at 12 a.m., 12 p.m. if I'm having a tough day at work?

• 30:38Speaker 01

You just come by with an orange, you top this all for me?

• 30:41Speaker 03

Have a little of my coffee?

• 30:42H. Foley?

Come back the next week, there's a bunch of fruit flies in there.

• 30:45Speaker 03

There you go, sorry, you know what, we had a real infestation. Uh, your bottle of Grey Goose looks like a science experiment.

• 30:50Speaker 01

I gotta have a bottle of Rumplemin's back there.

• 30:52H. Foley?

  Hey, you guys see monkeys?

• 30:53Speaker 03

You guys got that Barton's they put back there? Are you guys detailing silverware with?

• 30:57H. Foley?

  I've never heard of that.

• 30:59Speaker 01

  What?

• 30:59H. Foley?

  They cork it?

• 31:00Speaker 01

  Yeah, they cork it.

• 31:02H. Foley?

Oh, the girl must hate you when you come back.

• 31:04Speaker 03

Oh, the size that she lets out where you go, you know what, we're gonna get out of here.

• 31:07Speaker 01

Dude, it's worse, it's worse than you think. So, my brother would go on Friday, and I know, I'd be like, oh, well, what'd you do last night? He's like, oh, we went over to wherever it was, denim, red, you know, whatever.

• 31:18Speaker 03

  Whatever their name, Persian?

• 31:20Speaker 01

Yeah, we would, he'd go, ah, yeah, I got a bottle of, I get word that he corked a bottle.

• 31:26Speaker 03

  Oh, no.

• 31:26Speaker 01

So, I would show up the next night.

• 31:28Speaker 03

  You would eat his leftovers?

• 31:29Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 31:30H. Foley?

He put on a lot of weight since last night.

• 31:31Speaker 03

Did they write your initials on the bottle?

• 31:33Speaker 01

I was like, hey, what's up? And I knew them, I knew, hey, it's Danny's brother.

• 31:37Speaker 03

  Your brother left like two.

• 31:38Speaker 01

  He's coming, he's coming by.

• 31:40Speaker 03

And then you just kill it?

• 31:41Speaker 01

  They're doing shots.

• 31:43Speaker 03

You're just drinking in like a menacing way?

• 31:45Speaker 01

  I'm at the bar.

• 31:45Speaker 03

Your coat still on? You go, no thanks, I brought a can of Coke myself.

• 31:51Speaker 01

I got a can of Anellic.

• 31:52Speaker 03

  I don't, you go, I don't, I don't have the tip on this, do I?

• 31:56Speaker 01

  Can I eat here?

• 31:57Speaker 03

Yeah. You go, oh, thank God, goes a hoagie. You guys mind if I just pull up here at the bar?

• 32:03Speaker 01

What's the address? I'm getting something delivered.

• 32:06Speaker 03

Hey, you guys mind, uh, Uber Eats is outside.

• 32:09H. Foley?

  Man.

• 32:10Speaker 03

  Holy shit, that's so funny.

• 32:11H. Foley?

Food coming out in those sexy situations was always a bad luck.

• 32:14Speaker 03

Dude, you just, you pulling up to the bar, full winter coat, with just the Arizona, with an Arizona iced tea?

• 32:25Speaker 03

The green tea goes real good with cold vodka.

• 32:27H. Foley?

It's got ginseng in it. I'm fighting off something.

• 32:32Speaker 01

My doctor said I need more vitamins.

• 32:34Speaker 03

This is like a, this is like a cold hot toddy. It's a cold toddy.

• 32:38Speaker 01

  Ah.

• 32:38H. Foley?

Oh man, you stay, that's great.

• 32:40Speaker 01

  Well, that was the end.

• 32:41Speaker 03

I did not know clubs did that.

• 32:43Speaker 01

I think that place might have, just because he was in there spending money.

• 32:46Speaker 03

Yeah, some places you can watch two men fight to the death.

• 32:48Speaker 01

Exactly. Same basement at that place. It was the basement of Pearl, you could see that.

• 32:54Speaker 03

A lot of, a lot of things you could see, uh, behind closed doors.

• 32:57Speaker 01

Uh, no, that was, that was the end of my early twenties was the end of that, where you would get, you would dress up business casual and go to the club.

• 33:05H. Foley?

Yeah, that's what I meant, dude.

• 33:06Speaker 01

And that's when it was like, we were in college and that's what you would do. I always felt better at a dive bar, but I had to, you know, that's what the, that's what the cool, that's where the broads are going.

• 33:16Speaker 03

But it really is. You see your personality when you go to one of those places.

• 33:20Speaker 01

I would just sit there on the corner and like, it's, I hate, I genuinely hated how I felt there.

• 33:25Speaker 03

Me and my friends went to, uh, the friends, all my friends I grew up with, we went to a trip all together for my friend's 30th birthday. So I was still like 29. Everyone's 29 or 30 and we go to Miami and we went to like the Fountain Blue and.

• 33:39Speaker 01

I, I did the same thing. I've been, my brother's bachelor party, that's where they went.

• 33:42Speaker 03

And they like waited in line and there were, I think, eight of us.

• 33:46Speaker 01

You go into the pool or the club?

• 33:47Speaker 03

Well, they're, everyone's trying to go to the club, which.

• 33:49Speaker 01

  Live.

• 33:50Speaker 03

  Yeah, that's what it is.

• 33:51Speaker 01

It's the best, uh, they say it's the best, uh, man, my clubbing days are really coming out.

• 33:55Speaker 03

You really do know, you're a promoter.

• 33:56Speaker 01

  It what?

• 33:57Speaker 03

He's like, you got two girls you can bring with, I can get you in. Um, but we all waited in line like chumps and then they were like, we can have six of you go in. And there was eight of us. And I turned, I just turned to my friend Zach, who also is now sober, you know, he works the steps. Uh, I turned to him and I was like, let's just go to the hotel bar.

• 34:16Speaker 01

Yeah, so yeah, let's go get fucked up.

• 34:17Speaker 03

We'll wait for you guys. We'll go to the hotel bar and drink. And we just went and got blackout drunk while they went to the club. We just sat there drinking.

• 34:24Speaker 01

That's all I want to do.

• 34:24Speaker 03

Off duty cops. That's what you, that's, that's what I would rather do.

• 34:28H. Foley?

My boys are over at the club, we're hanging here.

• 34:30Speaker 03

I go, it's a, it's fucking dance time for the ladies. When they want to come find this.

• 34:34Speaker 01

The broads are in there showing off.

• 34:35Speaker 03

They want to shake their tail feather. We're going to be sitting here getting down to business. I almost, I, I got so drunk, I almost threw up taking a shot. That's how drunk I got.

• 34:44Speaker 01

  Oh, I've done that.

• 34:46Speaker 03

Where you take it and you go.

• 34:48Speaker 01

I used to have a, I used to have a move. I go, get me a piece of gum. Cause the, the ad starts coming up. A gum cancels it out right away. And I would look at, I would look at one of my friends and go, get me a piece of gum. And they knew, they knew the pin was pulled and it was get out of the way. There's been multiple times I've been Finnegan's wake, the one that really jumps out. I took a shot and was like, nope. And I just throw up on the floor, walked out the door and just got in a cab and went home.

• 35:11H. Foley?

  Good day gentlemen.

• 35:12Speaker 03

I did, I did a similar thing at Playwright's across the street from Caroline's. Was drinking with Che. I was already drunk, showed up. Che bought me, I bought a Guinness and a shot of Jameson. Double shot. Took it, felt it coming back up, just casually walked away, walked downstairs, like almost threw it in, threw the throw up in the toilet. Where I was like, ah, like that. Came right back upstairs and drank my beer.

• 35:33Speaker 01

It's like you flushed the toilet on the airplane.

• 35:35Speaker 03

Yeah. It really was where I go, anyways, I think the dollar's okay.

• 35:40Speaker 01

You always had those bad, it just didn't sit well. It didn't go down.

• 35:44Speaker 03

I don't know what's going on with me. I know what's going on. You've had 18 drinks tonight.

• 35:47Speaker 01

  Dude, I've ordered.

• 35:48H. Foley?

Down the wrong, down the wrong pipe.

• 35:49Speaker 01

I've ordered shots when you're like, this isn't gonna go down.

• 35:53Speaker 03

My, uh, one of my favorite comedians of all time, Troy Baxley, a Denver local, he used to have this saying where he'd always go, when we drink, he'd go, oh, that one has corners on it.

• 36:03Speaker 01

  Oh, that's good.

• 36:04Speaker 03

What a great expression. I'm sure, you know, I'm sure you heard that in a bar or whatever, but I, that one always stuck with me.

• 36:10Speaker 01

That one went down like glass.

• 36:11Speaker 03

Yeah, that one had corners on it. And you're like, oh yeah, that would make sense.

• 36:15Speaker 01

  That's good.

• 36:15Speaker 03

Since our esophagus is our cylinder.

• 36:18H. Foley?

  Worn thin.

• 36:19Speaker 03

  Yeah, dude, just like, whoa.

• 36:22Speaker 01

Alright, we gotta get to some, this is what happens when Danny Soder comes. You all get all hopped up on fucking stories.

• 36:27Speaker 03

Sorry to blow the door off Viacom.

• 36:30Speaker 01

  You hear that?

• 36:32H. Foley?

  Shout out to Pinfield.

• 36:33Speaker 01

  Coming for Oprah next.

• 36:33Speaker 03

God, Pinfield family, hope you're doing alright.

• 36:36H. Foley?

  Of course.

• 36:37Speaker 01

Uh, alright, this one's from Big Titted Animal, $10 homie, never have one read. What's the verdict on chain sauces you can get from the store? Examples, the Taco Bell mild sauce, Whataburger buffalo sauce, Chick-fil-A sauce you can buy at the store. This is a great question. Great question.

• 36:51Speaker 03

I are, I don't know what it says about me, but we have the Chick-fil-A sauce from the store. At home.

• 36:58Speaker 01

  That's the most common.

• 36:59H. Foley?

Did you buy that at the Chick-fil-A or did you buy it at the?

• 37:01Speaker 03

  Grocery store.

• 37:02H. Foley?

You can get it retail at Chick-fil-A as well.

• 37:03Speaker 03

Okay, I bought it at the grocery store.

• 37:05H. Foley?

  Wow.

• 37:06Speaker 03

Cause you light up, it's like seeing your.

• 37:07Speaker 01

  See it.

• 37:08Speaker 03

It's like seeing a friend at the movies you didn't expect to bump into.

• 37:11Speaker 01

  Oh.

• 37:12Speaker 03

  Ah, what are you seeing?

• 37:13Speaker 01

  We can get this here?

• 37:13Speaker 03

Hey, and I immediately, I love bran- I'm brand recognition, I'm trash, it's burned into my brain.

• 37:19Speaker 01

  Uh huh.

• 37:19Speaker 03

  I love brand recognition.

• 37:21Speaker 01

Love it. I have, I gotta be honest with you, my, I think my wife bought the Whataburger buffalo sauce. Man, I put that on friggin' everything.

• 37:29H. Foley?

And you're okay with the Chick-fil-A sauce not being on Chick-fil-A product?

• 37:33Speaker 03

  Yeah.

• 37:34H. Foley?

Like, could it be frozen chicken nuggets at the house?

• 37:36Speaker 03

  Done.

• 37:37Speaker 01

  It's seven years old?

• 37:38Speaker 03

Yeah, Dino nugs, done. Guess what? Call me a meteor, cause I'm wiping out all those dinos with that chicken nugget.

• 37:45Speaker 01

  Put it on a sandwich?

• 37:46Speaker 03

That chicken nug- those chickens, dude, I put it on fries a lot of times.

• 37:50Speaker 01

Uh, that makes, it does, it is trash, it's trashy. I think if you're buying a restaurant.

• 37:56H. Foley?

  Capitalism what it is.

• 37:58Speaker 03

  Yeah, it's Americana.

• 37:59H. Foley?

How did McDonald's hasn't gotten that? How is there not a fucking bottle of Mac sauce next to the fucking mayonnaise?

• 38:05Speaker 01

  Very.

• 38:05Speaker 03

Cause they are holding on to the idea that it's somehow secret.

• 38:08H. Foley?

  Sure.

• 38:09Speaker 01

Yeah, they give that up, then it's like, you can only get it there.

• 38:12Speaker 03

  You're saving yourself for marriage?

• 38:14Speaker 01

You start selling it, next thing you know, it's like, I ain't gotta go there, that's the, that's the.

• 38:17Speaker 03

I make a better smash burger.

• 38:18Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 38:19H. Foley?

  True.

• 38:20Speaker 01

  You know what I mean?

• 38:20Speaker 03

They need you coming back for the fucking.

• 38:22Speaker 01

  For the sauce.

• 38:23Speaker 03

  Cocaina.

• 38:23Speaker 01

Uh huh. Give out all their proprietary secrets.

• 38:26Speaker 03

But, I'm a big fan of the Chick-fil-A sauce, and I'm gonna pick up the Whataburger buffalo just on your t- just on.

• 38:31Speaker 01

Buddy, it's great, they also got a, they got something else too that's like, oh, we got both of them, I don't know what it is, it's alright. Um, but yeah, it's trashy, and I feel, yeah, it's gotta be trash.

• 38:40H. Foley?

I'm thinking a Wahlburger, which I've heard mixed things about.

• 38:43Speaker 01

Oh, maybe that's what I, I have the Wahlburger sauce.

• 38:46Speaker 03

  Okay.

• 38:47H. Foley?

He's been working since the 90's.

• 39:02H. Foley?

• 39:08Speaker 03

I was on the tour bus? I had this idea for sauce.

• 39:12Speaker 01

  For sauces?

• 39:12Speaker 03

You guys ever have this buffalo sauce?

• 39:14H. Foley?

Remember when you found out it was him in fucking Sixth Sense?

• 39:20Speaker 03

  You're like, that's fucking unbelievable.

• 39:21Speaker 01

Great. Lost the weight for the role.

• 39:23Speaker 03

Love that. Love a weight loss for a role.

• 39:25Speaker 01

Shout out to Liquid IV, baby. I love, I'm on it right now.

• 40:57H. Foley?

We're not even, listen, when it comes to Liquid IV, we love this shit.

• 41:02Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 41:03H. Foley?

We absolutely love this shit. We were drinking it before they were sponsors.

• 41:08Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 41:08H. Foley?

And I just got over the flu, and let me tell you something, Uncle Hanky was. Suck it on that like mother's milk. If you're sick, if you're hungover.

• 41:19Speaker 01

I love how every other show's like, when you're power lifted, when you're running.

• 41:23H. Foley?

If you're doing your wind sprints or whatever, your karaoke, whatever's that you're doing at the gym, yeah, of course. You got the electrolytes in there.

• 41:29Speaker 01

  We're talking dirtbag stuff.

• 41:55H. Foley?

Wait, I can't say enough about Liquid IV. My new favorite flavor is that sour cherry.

• 41:59Speaker 01

  Shout out to it.

• 42:00H. Foley?

Is it garbage to cut up last night's french fries and turn them into home fries in the pan with a little bit of extra virgin olive oil and butter? You add some salt and fresh cracked pepper, goes a long way with some eggies and a black coffee?

• 42:44H. Foley?

  Man.

• 42:44Speaker 01

  That.

• 42:44H. Foley?

Who's writing these questions this week?

• 42:46Speaker 01

  Blew my fucking mind.

• 42:47Speaker 03

How did you open this portal to heaven?

• 42:50Speaker 01

  I, that's insane.

• 42:51Speaker 03

I've never tried that and that sounds fucking unbelievable.

• 42:53H. Foley?

Cause that is a big thing. We talked about this early on in the, uh, in, in the conception of the show. Cooking with takeout or leftovers from takeout.

• 43:02Speaker 03

  Love it.

• 43:03H. Foley?

The next day is very garbage.

• 43:06Speaker 03

  It's also, no.

• 43:07H. Foley?

  Very great.

• 43:08Speaker 01

It's very good, but it's, I mean, dude, you're turning french fries into, into breakfast?

• 43:12H. Foley?

  I waited tables with a.

• 43:13Speaker 01

  Pretty genius.

• 43:14Speaker 03

Or is it using all parts of the animal like the great.

• 43:16H. Foley?

  100%.

• 43:17Speaker 03

  Like the Native Americans.

• 43:19H. Foley?

100%. I, I waited tables with a girl in Philly where that she exclusively did that. And she would mix, uh, medias. She would put like Chinese and fries together.

• 43:29Speaker 01

  My wife does that.

• 43:30Speaker 03

She was like Q from Bond.

• 43:32H. Foley?

  Putting it all together.

• 43:32Speaker 03

Interesting meal I have for you today, James. You'll notice that is some of the dumplings from last night's Chinese food. And I've mixed it with what? With Wahlburger sauce.

• 43:43H. Foley?

  That's Donnie Wahlberg, right there.

• 43:45Speaker 03

He goes, "Hey, I made that sauce pretty good."

• 43:47H. Foley?

  Yeah, she cooks.

• 43:48Speaker 01

  This is a wild breakfast.

• 43:49Speaker 03

But I'm doing it for Donnie.

• 43:50H. Foley?

  Cooking with leftovers.

• 43:52Speaker 01

  It's at all places.

• 43:53Speaker 03

Leftovers, cooking with leftovers is always, uh, very underrated and very tasty.

• 43:58Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 43:58Speaker 03

  Cause the flavor's locked in.

• 43:59Speaker 01

It's in there, it's baked, especially leftovers from another, it's like fucking, when a restaurant cooks it, it's fucking locked in.

• 44:06Speaker 03

It's very biblical to, to rise three days after.

• 44:08Speaker 01

I, I wonder, what do you chop, it says you chop them out last night's into home fries.

• 44:13Speaker 03

So you chop, so you take the fries, you fucking...

• 44:16Speaker 01

  You do that before?

• 44:17Speaker 03

  Yeah.

• 44:17Speaker 01

You put them in the pan?

• 44:18Speaker 03

  Yeah.

• 44:19Speaker 01

You put them in the, yeah.

• 44:19Speaker 03

Then you put them in the pan, then the, the butter, the oil, oh, fuck.

• 44:22Speaker 01

Really sear it up, get a good char on it.

• 44:24Speaker 03

I guess, bitch, do a couple flips.

• 44:26Speaker 01

  Uh huh.

• 44:26Speaker 03

Watch that flip, with some scramby eggs.

• 44:28Speaker 01

  Because they've been deep fried.

• 44:30Speaker 03

Or, I would say, over medium, so you got the yolk. So then you, ah, I mean, come on, what are we doing? And, I would even say throw some fucking Wahlberg or buffalo sauce in there. I'm gonna fucking break this table like a kar- like a karate demonstration.

• 44:43Speaker 01

  Anybody else hard?

• 44:47Speaker 01

  Uh, man, gotta try that.

• 44:49Speaker 03

  Yeah.

• 44:49Speaker 01

And then, cause like, I'll always, I was like, we, me and my wife, we order a bur- you know, we'll get burger from a place in the, in the neigh- a restaurant in the neighborhood, it comes with fries. I'll eat the fries, to a point where I'm like, there'll still be some left, and I go, I don't really want them, but I'm going, well, I'm not gonna have eight french fries tomorrow.

• 45:07H. Foley?

  Now you can.

• 45:08Speaker 01

  But, now I can.

• 45:09Speaker 03

  Fuck. I mean, it's...

• 45:12Speaker 01

  It's just ruining my life.

• 45:13Speaker 03

  Price of eggs comes down.

• 45:15Speaker 01

  Woo!

• 45:16Speaker 03

  It's over.

• 45:16H. Foley?

Those things are through the roof.

• 45:18Speaker 01

Man, it's like you go and they're gone. It's just like my, do my...

• 45:21Speaker 03

Gotta go to Fifth Avenue to buy them.

• 45:23Speaker 01

  Gotta get a dealer.

• 45:25H. Foley?

I'm at a Nordstrom Rack buying basquered eggs.

• 45:27Speaker 03

I'm buying them off of Hasid, on Forty-seventh Street. He's like, "These are real eggs, real eggs, right from a chicken. Wanna see it? Hold it. You can't leave the store. Look at that, that's a real egg." And you go, "Oh, fuck."

• 45:40Speaker 01

  These are snake eggs.

• 45:41Speaker 03

"You son of a bitch, this is from a pigeon. I wouldn't sell you a pigeon's eggs."

• 45:46Speaker 01

  It's speckled.

• 45:47Speaker 03

"Come on, look at that, it's a robin's egg. Don't you love those around Easter? Ah, when your guy comes back."

• 45:54H. Foley?

That's just a whopper and an egg shit.

• 45:56Speaker 03

"You son of a bitch, these are a Cadbury tiny egg. I can't eat these."

• 46:02Speaker 01

Uh, ever been dumped while wearing roller skates? Broke up with a girlfriend one time at the roller rink, dot, dot, dot, I was thirty. That's you. You shouldn't be in roller skates at 30 unless you're with your children. You should be going to the roller rink.

• 46:17Speaker 03

Agreed, but there's nothing more badass than breaking a woman's heart and then rolling away backwards. There you go. So I guess that's it for us.

• 46:27Speaker 01

I know, but he got broken up with.

• 46:29Speaker 03

Oh, he got dumped by her?

• 46:30Speaker 01

He got dumped by her and he's on roller skates.

• 46:31Speaker 03

  Take her shoes.

• 46:33Speaker 01

  Sure.

• 46:34Speaker 03

Now you use, now you use cancel leave. And also wait for the next skate and then fucking.

• 46:39Speaker 01

  Go find another trollop.

• 46:41Speaker 03

Chop, block. Fuck it, take her knees out. You just start coming around, dude. Become an equalizer.

• 46:47Speaker 01

Grab some eight year old and do the whip on her.

• 46:50Speaker 03

You go, little girl, I'm gonna give you $50 right now. I need you to do something. Put your helmet on. You're my little torpedo.

• 46:57Speaker 01

  Stay tight and low.

• 46:58Speaker 03

Stay tight and low. Don't look up. I need the helmet to make contact with her patella.

• 47:03Speaker 01

Do you trust me? Do you trust me?

• 47:05Speaker 03

Who are you, mister? I go, if I pop your arm out of your socket, it's just because I'm putting zip on the ball.

• 47:10Speaker 01

  Ah, man, I.

• 47:11Speaker 03

  She broke up with him?

• 47:12Speaker 01

I said she, yeah, he got, he got broken up with wearing a skate. How you? That's you put your, I'm a preventative kind of guy. You put yourself in that embarrassing position by putting roller skates on at 30 years old.

• 47:25Speaker 03

Yeah, but he might not have seen it coming.

• 47:27Speaker 01

Unless you're from Atlanta and I know, but still.

• 47:29Speaker 03

  They're doing the bounce.

• 47:32Speaker 03

Getting broken up with or doing that? That's so funny.

• 47:35Speaker 01

  They love it down there.

• 47:36Speaker 03

He goes, I'm getting broken up with. We're doing a drop squat clap. I looked to my left.

• 47:40Speaker 01

I'm in the middle of the routine.

• 47:41Speaker 03

I looked, I looked to my left, bow wow is there. And then I turned back. She says she's not into it anymore.

• 47:46Speaker 01

  Ah, yeah.

• 47:47H. Foley?

  Something about seeing other people.

• 47:49Speaker 03

I mean, that's, talk about seeing other people, man. Talk about seeing other people.

• 47:53Speaker 01

  Sheesh.

• 47:54Speaker 03

I would have been very angry if I didn't see it coming, but if you did see it coming and like things were on the rocks, don't go roller skating.

• 48:04H. Foley?

  Nah, don't go roller, I mean, I.

• 48:05H. Foley?

Don't put yourself in that spot.

• 48:06Speaker 01

Even if it's going well, don't go.

• 48:08Speaker 03

Don't go on a boat. Don't go roller skating.

• 48:10Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 48:11H. Foley?

I walked into a bad one at a birthday dinner. I've mentioned it on the pod a couple of times. Bad one. One of my favorite places, D'Nico, downtown Cafe D'Nico. Bowl of mussels right in front of me. I pushed it. What's wrong? Tell me. My birthday dinner.

• 48:25Speaker 03

She broke up with you on your birthday dinner?

• 48:26H. Foley?

It's over. And then we had to go to a surprise party that she had set up for me.

• 48:30Speaker 03

Why not wait until the day after?

• 48:31H. Foley?

  I don't know.

• 48:32Speaker 01

  You can be very persistent.

• 48:34H. Foley?

  I had it coming.

• 48:35Speaker 03

  You did?

• 48:36H. Foley?

Oh, yeah, I had it coming.

• 48:38Speaker 03

But on the birthday, that feels cruel. Roller rink feels cruel.

• 48:42Speaker 01

  Yeah, places of fun.

• 48:44H. Foley?

On a roller coaster or something like that?

• 48:45Speaker 03

Yeah. You can't do that. Take him out to coffee, like a regular person.

• 48:50Speaker 01

  Text him.

• 48:51Speaker 03

You don't, you don't, you gotta de-lace your skates talking about who's gonna stop by to pick up their stuff?

• 48:56Speaker 01

Yeah, you're putting them in the, you gotta, you gotta return them.

• 48:58Speaker 03

The guy's going, "All right, great. What's your name?" Spraying him. So I guess you get the dog every other weekend?

• 49:06Speaker 01

That's brutal. Did you have, that was big for us. Did you have roller skating parties growing up?

• 49:10Speaker 03

Yeah, Skate City. Shout out Skate City.

• 49:12Speaker 01

  Shout out Skate City.

• 49:13Speaker 03

I sucked at it. Always sucked at it. Always had to grab the wall.

• 49:16Speaker 01

Were they by school? Like, we had them with school and then kids would have their birthdays there.

• 49:20Speaker 03

They did do school, but also kids had birthdays. That's where, uh, fucking Mortal Kombat 2, the arcade game was.

• 49:25Speaker 01

Woo, the arcade games at a roller skating palace were hand curated.

• 49:29H. Foley?

  You have a spot?

• 49:30Speaker 03

That's all I'd do is I'd put on skates and I'd just go between arcade machines.

• 49:33H. Foley?

  That's pretty good.

• 49:34Speaker 03

And they had, um, they had NBA Jam, I specifically remember. This was on Chambers and Hampton if you grew up in Aurora, Colorado. There was a Skate City back there. Still might be active, don't know. Um...

• 49:44Speaker 01

  I don't know.

• 49:45Speaker 03

But it, Mortal Kombat 2, NBA Jam, Skate Rink Hot Dogs, Skate Rink Fountain Soda.

• 49:53Speaker 01

  Dude, the pizza.

• 49:54H. Foley?

  Skate Rink Slushies, the pizza.

• 49:56Speaker 03

The pizza, the hot dogs. It was, it was like, um, it had flavor.

• 50:00Speaker 01

It was great, dude. The pizza I remember, I remember. It was like, that was also a big day where you would go and you'd be like, "Hey, will you skate with me?" That was like, that was like the first dance. Couples skate.

• 50:09Speaker 03

Dude, I watched my friend Tyler Tong kiss a girl for the first time there.

• 50:13Speaker 01

  Whoa, this kid was quick.

• 50:14H. Foley?

  On roller skates?

• 50:15Speaker 03

They were at, was at Skate City, cause it was like, kinda like...

• 50:17Speaker 01

Who is he, Chaz Michael Michael?

• 50:19Speaker 03

You go, I was just, dude, I was just a hanger-on. And this guy, this guy kissed this girl and I, you know, the first time you... See, uh, people French kiss in front of you, it looks like they're like transferring souls.

• 50:31Speaker 01

  Vulgar.

• 50:31Speaker 03

When you're a little, yes, it's vulgar. You're watching, you go, Jesus Christ.

• 50:35Speaker 01

I don't know about you guys.

• 50:35Speaker 03

In the movies, they make it look like clean or whatever.

• 50:37Speaker 01

  I was turned on.

• 50:38H. Foley?

Yeah, when you see that tongue going.

• 50:39Speaker 03

When the tongue pops through the cheek, you're like, whoa, that's how it felt. You're like, Jesus, guys. And she was like, the, the hot girl at the skating rink. So you're just like, damn dude, you guys are adults. I'm a little boy over here.

• 50:53Speaker 01

Yeah, you're like, once that starts happening, you're like, I'm so far away from that, like, fuck.

• 50:57Speaker 03

I'm just trying, you're like, I'm trying to find out the Bill Clinton code on NBA Jam. These motherfuckers are over here actually being adults.

• 51:04Speaker 01

Sure. I, uh, I remember one time, that was big, I had to, I left, I, I, I, I just didn't realize how fat of a kid I was and like, everybody's like holding hands skating. And, yeah, I remember, I got, I got a slice of pizza to go at the end. The party was over, everybody's walking out.

• 51:22Speaker 03

  There, there's no way.

• 51:23Speaker 01

Their parents are, I remember my dad picked me up and I got in the front seat with a slice of pizza and I remember him just going, you skate with anyone? I went nah, and I'm just like fucking munching the pizza.

• 51:34Speaker 03

There's no way whoever worked at that skating rink, when you.

• 51:39Speaker 01

  Lights are on.

• 51:40Speaker 03

  When you ordered that pizza.

• 51:41Speaker 01

I ordered in shoes, which is crazy.

• 51:43Speaker 03

Crazy, nasty work. Whoever gave you that slice.

• 51:47H. Foley?

Can I have a plate, please?

• 51:48Speaker 03

He went like this, sure kid.

• 51:50Speaker 01

  That's, I, I remember it.

• 51:52Speaker 03

  There's like a pity order?

• 51:53Speaker 01

  It was, yeah.

• 51:54Speaker 03

Where they're like, he's like, the cashier just shut down. He's like, hey mister, can I have a slice of pepperoni? He goes, sure kid.

• 52:00H. Foley?

Wouldn't you rather a cigarette or some drugs or something?

• 52:03Speaker 03

Don't you want to go talk to the girls?

• 52:05H. Foley?

Wouldn't mind having a slice of that pepperoni pizza. He's like. You guys just gonna throw it out or what?

• 52:11Speaker 01

I see it in the thing, it's spinning.

• 52:13Speaker 03

Yeah, can I please? It still looks hot. He goes, it's warm at best.

• 52:17Speaker 01

It was, it sat in like the, it sat in like that circle, like, like, kinda like a super pretzel thing. Like sat in there getting warm.

• 52:24Speaker 03

  And your dad was like.

• 52:26Speaker 01

  Fucking nerd.

• 52:27H. Foley?

  Did you dance with him?

• 52:28Speaker 01

No, did you skate with anyone?

• 52:30Speaker 03

  Did you skate with anybody?

• 52:32Speaker 01

  I remember it was raining.

• 52:34H. Foley?

  Couple of wet willies.

• 52:36Speaker 01

It was raining too and I remember the pizza getting wet as I got in.

• 52:41Speaker 03

But how good was that pizza?

• 52:42Speaker 01

Man, that ride home was way better.

• 52:44Speaker 03

  Yeah.

• 52:45H. Foley?

  It's still sweetness to it.

• 52:46Speaker 03

Is Skate City still open in Aurora?

• 52:48Speaker 01

  It is.

• 52:49H. Foley?

  Whoa!

• 52:50Speaker 01

Two hour session for eight bucks.

• 52:51H. Foley?

  That's pretty good.

• 52:52Speaker 01

  For eight bucks?

• 52:54Speaker 03

  Sweet god.

• 52:55Speaker 01

That's how they've been keeping the doors open.

• 52:57Speaker 03

Dude, oh my god, that's gotta be a front for a cartel.

• 52:59Speaker 01

I think mine's closed, and I'm pretty sure. Check out the roller skating palace in northeast Philadelphia.

• 53:06Speaker 03

  Come on.

• 53:07Speaker 01

Right by where the plane gets crashed.

• 53:08H. Foley?

See if Kevin's picture's still on the wall.

• 53:10Speaker 01

Right down the block. It's gotta be closed.

• 53:12Speaker 03

Did you ever have to like, uh, did you get good at roller skating? Rollerblading?

• 53:15Speaker 01

I played hockey. I was really good.

• 53:17Speaker 03

  Okay.

• 53:17Speaker 01

I could still, I'm still probably.

• 53:19H. Foley?

  Horrible.

• 53:20Speaker 03

  Horrible.

• 53:21Speaker 01

  Pretty good now.

• 53:21Speaker 03

  Horrible at roller.

• 53:22H. Foley?

  I was petrified too.

• 53:23Speaker 03

  Me too.

• 53:23H. Foley?

Social anxiety, petrified. If it wasn't for that Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles game where they had the four things.

• 53:28Speaker 03

  Yes.

• 53:29H. Foley?

I probably would have killed myself.

• 53:30Speaker 03

  Yeah.

• 53:31H. Foley?

  I just posted up.

• 53:32Speaker 03

  Me too.

• 53:33Speaker 01

With a slurp, with a slushy.

• 53:35Speaker 03

Dude, come see me. I got a fucking large Dr. Pepper and I got a, I got fucking, um, I'm forgetting the guy with blades for hands. Uh, Bianca. Come see me play Mortal Kombat 2. You're gonna be catching a bunch of Bianca.

• 53:47H. Foley?

  Couldn't do it.

• 53:48Speaker 03

Now Bianca was Street Fighter 2. Um, my brain's covered with a layer of resin.

• 53:53H. Foley?

Some of my boys were like naturals, just killing it, going around, doing it.

• 53:57Speaker 03

Oh dude, one of my friends was so good at, uh, uh, rollerblading that, you know, I could like get around, but he was so good, he could do the thing where he would touch his hand. Cause he'd be going so fast.

• 54:07H. Foley?

  That's crazy.

• 54:08Speaker 01

I don't wanna, you guys are describing me a little bit. I feel, I wanna be modest over here.

• 54:13Speaker 03

The thing that always really upset me was when I would be trying to trottle on, when I would skate, my friends that would do the thing where they would skate next to me and then turn backwards and talk to me and I'd be like, what are you doing right now, dude?

• 54:23Speaker 01

  Hey, what's up Dan?

• 54:24Speaker 03

  Yeah, I'm a person.

• 54:25Speaker 01

Showing me up. You wanna get a slice of pizza?

• 54:27Speaker 03

And then I immediately just go, I'm gonna get out of here. And then go off to the big circular thing where you sit down on. You're like, I don't want, I don't want.

• 54:33Speaker 01

I'm gonna go smoke this place.

• 54:34Speaker 03

That's exactly it. And then my friend, my friend Dane would be like, you wanna go get high? And you're like, yes. Skate City, by the way, when I started getting high, when I was like. Thirteen and fourteen? What, it became a club?

• 54:48Speaker 01

  Sure.

• 54:49Speaker 03

It was the club. You were fucked up in the club.

• 54:50Speaker 01

  Yeah, fucked up.

• 54:51Speaker 03

Yeah, no bottle service, no hot dog service.

• 54:53Speaker 01

We had one. We had an actual club for-

• 54:56H. Foley?

Put a cork in that Dr. Pepper. I'll be back next week.

• 54:58Speaker 03

  Yeah.

• 54:59Speaker 01

It was called Beach Street. See if you can get that Beach Street. I think it was in Trevo's, Pennsylvania.

• 55:04Speaker 03

I talked about this on my podcast with David Bory, cause he's from Denver, but there was a sixteen year old, uh-

• 55:09Speaker 01

  You have max sixteen.

• 55:11Speaker 03

Oh, no, ours was sixteen to twenty.

• 55:13Speaker 01

Oh, that's weird. That's too weird.

• 55:15Speaker 03

  It's too weird.

• 55:16H. Foley?

  That's too much.

• 55:17Speaker 03

It's too much, but it was sick.

• 55:18Speaker 01

Ours was like max sixteen or seventeen, and you would be like thirteen to sixteen or seventeen.

• 55:23Speaker 03

That's crazy. I think that's crazy, mixing thirteen and seventeen year old. Sixteen to twenty, I get mixing.

• 55:29H. Foley?

Those twenty year old guys were mean.

• 55:30Speaker 03

  Oh, yeah.

• 55:31H. Foley?

  Scary.

• 55:32Speaker 03

  They're men.

• 55:32Speaker 01

Yeah. Also, remember when like, at that age, when you can't drive and a guy can drive, you're like, you might as well be a grandfather.

• 55:38Speaker 03

  Yeah.

• 55:39Speaker 01

  Like, that's how old-

• 55:39Speaker 03

Or they lived alone? I can just go to my house and you go, pfft. I gotta hold up Trish's-

• 55:44Speaker 01

Dude, I remember we were playing, we were playing hockey and, and, uh, we were like on teams and we all, I think it was like, whatever. This one team, all the kids drove themselves.

• 55:54Speaker 03

  That's wild.

• 55:54Speaker 01

  And psychologically, they broke us.

• 55:56Speaker 03

  Yeah.

• 55:56Speaker 01

Like, they got out the one, I remember the one kid spinning a lanyard on his finger and I went, I ain't even got hair on my balls. This kid's driving a fucking stick shift.

• 56:04Speaker 03

  Is that still popular?

• 56:06Speaker 01

What? Hair on the balls? Uh-

• 56:08Speaker 03

No, cause it's not. Manscape, you guys are probably sponsored.

• 56:11Speaker 01

Sure are. Um, I don't think so. I would-

• 56:14Speaker 03

Remember the flip? And then it would flip all the way around and then-

• 56:17Speaker 01

And then you fucking whip it back?

• 56:18H. Foley?

It was like a security blanket. I used that, uh, going into my freshman year of college at football camp, like it was an invisible blanket.

• 56:25Speaker 03

  It was.

• 56:26H. Foley?

As long as I had that thing around my neck or was doing that.

• 56:28Speaker 01

And you could fidget and you're doing something.

• 56:30H. Foley?

  Okay.

• 56:30Speaker 03

  Yeah.

• 56:31Speaker 01

I, dude, I remember I was, dude, the ti- they were Tommy Hilfiger ones you would get on the boardwalk.

• 56:36Speaker 03

  Damn.

• 56:36Speaker 01

In Wildwood, and I just, I, I saw this, met a kid, you know how when you meet a kid from another school? I didn't know what, what he met, some weird circumstance?

• 56:45Speaker 03

  Yeah.

• 56:45Speaker 01

We were twelve, whatever, ten maybe?

• 56:47Speaker 03

That's, uh, it's little kid UN.

• 56:49Speaker 01

Yeah, and he's cool. He was cool. I'm like, you're cooler than any kid I've ever seen.

• 56:53Speaker 03

  Yeah.

• 56:54Speaker 01

And he had, I, we met him, they're like, oh, this is TJ or something.

• 56:57Speaker 03

  Fucking TJ's alright.

• 56:59Speaker 01

He might as well have been leaning on a light post, smoking a cig. And his bike, we all rode bikes down the shore. His bike lock was a key, not a combo. And that key was on a Tommy Hilfiger lanyard and he was spinning and I went, buddy, I just wanna be. You're the coolest guy in the world.

• 57:15H. Foley?

You like roller skating at all?

• 57:16Speaker 01

You like, you like, you like roller ring pizza bud?

• 57:19Speaker 03

Well, there goes my hero. Watch him as he goes.

• 57:24Speaker 01

  Loved it.

• 57:25Speaker 03

  You go, Kevin Ryan.

• 57:27Speaker 01

Soon to be your best pal.

• 57:30Speaker 03

  TJ.

• 57:32H. Foley?

Kevin Ryan, sorry about the pizza grease.

• 57:35Speaker 03

Sorry, it was raining. I just ate wet pizza.

• 57:38Speaker 01

Dude, you're eating wet pizza. Is your dad, is your dad ashamed of you too bud?

• 57:41Speaker 03

Yeah, he goes, I bet not. If I was your dad, I wouldn't be ashamed.

• 57:46H. Foley?

  Give me a hug.

• 57:47Speaker 03

I went to a 7v7 football camp and they gave us Gatorade lanyards.

• 57:51Speaker 01

Woo, I had the thin ones. I know them.

• 57:54Speaker 03

And I had that for like, three years.

• 57:56Speaker 01

  Yeah, they were the shit.

• 57:57H. Foley?

Talk about worth the price of admission.

• 57:59Speaker 01

They were the shit. Hanging out of the pocket, let the girls know you got a house.

• 58:03Speaker 03

Also, I can run cover two.

• 58:07Speaker 03

  Sorry ladies.

• 58:08Speaker 01

  I can read an offense.

• 58:09Speaker 03

I'm up in the hook to curl. You wanna find me?

• 58:11H. Foley?

  Goes like zone D.

• 58:12Speaker 03

You guys, you guys like covering the flats? She's like, excuse me? She goes, not if I'm checking down. You go, fuck.

• 58:19H. Foley?

  What? What's that mean?

• 58:21Speaker 03

  Fuck, what?

• 58:22H. Foley?

  Yeah, well, whatever.

• 58:24Speaker 03

  Slut.

• 58:25Speaker 01

  He's probably a lesbian.

• 58:28Speaker 03

Good luck munching box, I'm outta here.

• 58:30H. Foley?

Springs real 4-3, huh? I'm outta here.

• 58:33Speaker 03

Fucking deep fade would take care of your stupid offense, your defense anyways.

• 58:36H. Foley?

Hey, good luck losing in the playoffs lady.

• 58:39Speaker 03

What? Just flipping your Gatorade thing? Sorry, I only talk in 7v7 terms.

• 58:46Speaker 01

Ah, god damn. Uh, alright, let's see, as a, as a, as a previous, you know, uh, booze bag, like to get your, uh, your, your take on this. This is from Jason the Ryan. $10 dignitary. Uh, is it garbage if you're having breakfast for dinner, right?

• 59:04Speaker 03

  No, still do it.

• 59:04Speaker 01

No, that, that, there's a, a twist. Breakfast for dinner, great. Not classy, obviously, trashy, but it's delicious.

• 59:10Speaker 03

  Yeah.

• 59:10Speaker 01

You're having breakfast for dinner, is it trashy to drink a beer with that breakfast for dinner?

• 59:15Speaker 03

  No.

• 59:16Speaker 01

  I feel like it is.

• 59:17Speaker 03

All bets are off. You're already having breakfast for dinner.

• 59:20H. Foley?

I gotta agree with Mr. Soda.

• 59:21Speaker 03

There is no, there is no timeline. You're in the multiverse.

• 59:23Speaker 01

I don't know if it would ever cross my mind to do it.

• 59:26Speaker 03

I think you're going out, you want a fucking fried egg sandwich.

• 59:29H. Foley?

  Mm-hmm.

• 59:30Speaker 03

Grab it with a fucking tall boy. You know, something that, and, and, and we're going-

• 59:34H. Foley?

  It's okay.

• 59:35Speaker 03

And you're, you're putting me in the mind of, of, of booze, Dan.

• 59:38Speaker 01

  Sure.

• 59:39Speaker 03

I'm not eating for taste. I'm eating for sustenance.

• 59:41Speaker 01

Yeah, you gotta, you gotta get a good base going.

• 59:43H. Foley?

  Get the base going.

• 59:44Speaker 01

Hey, that's a trash. You gotta get a good base.

• 59:46Speaker 03

I need to put my Kevlar vest on to take some bullets.

• 59:48Speaker 01

  You gotta fucking vest up.

• 59:49H. Foley?

Nothing better, nice little base, some eggs, some toast.

• 59:52Speaker 03

Oh, yeah, dude. I'm, I'm three chumps in, I'm saying, gear up, boys.

• 59:56H. Foley?

  Frozen home fries?

• 59:57Speaker 03

  Chop them up.

• 59:58Speaker 01

  Uh-huh.

• 59:58Speaker 03

Chop up those french fries from lunch.

• 1:00:00Speaker 01

Get it cooking. I, I never-

• 1:00:01H. Foley?

  It's okay.

• 1:00:02Speaker 01

  It's tra- I mean, it's fucking trashy.

• 1:00:03Speaker 03

  Sure.

• 1:00:04Speaker 01

  You're drinking-

• 1:00:04H. Foley?

  Of course.

• 1:00:04Speaker 01

First of all, you're eating breakfast at the wrong time and then adding booze to it. I respect it, but I gotta go by code here, it's trash.

• 1:00:11Speaker 03

My brother in Christ. I am not looking for the rea- I know this is trash.

• 1:00:15Speaker 01

  Sure.

• 1:00:16Speaker 03

You're looking to make sure that it's, this is okay that you're trash.

• 1:00:19Speaker 01

I guess I would just go, I'm not having a beer with it, I'll drink whatever beverage I choose, and then I'm cracking a beer right after. I don't, I wouldn't wanna mix that.

• 1:00:26Speaker 03

I don't, I'm gonna be honest. I don't like dr- I'd never like drinking alcohol with my meals.

• 1:00:30Speaker 01

I was on this, I've just, dude, as I've gotten older-

• 1:00:32H. Foley?

  Even wine with dinner?

• 1:00:34Speaker 03

Never, uh, on a date, if I'm trying, if I was trying to get laid, I would.

• 1:00:37H. Foley?

  I love that combo.

• 1:00:38Speaker 03

I didn't care. I would rather have a soda, I'd rather have a iced tea.

• 1:00:42Speaker 01

Down the same way. I don't like mixing them per se.

• 1:00:45Speaker 03

Because when I was drinking, I, I was drinking.

• 1:00:47Speaker 01

It's, it's functional to me, yeah.

• 1:00:49Speaker 03

  I was drinking to drink.

• 1:00:51Speaker 01

I mean, you were running from something, Daniel.

• 1:00:53Speaker 03

  My own brain, baby.

• 1:00:54Speaker 01

  I try to shove-

• 1:00:55H. Foley?

That's funny, on a date she gets a Cosmo, you're like, I'll have a brisk.

• 1:00:58Speaker 03

Yeah. Do you guys have, uh, Sprite? She goes, "Okay."

• 1:01:02H. Foley?

  Two cherries?

• 1:01:03Speaker 03

But that's how it was after I quit drinking and I'd go on dates, you know?

• 1:01:07H. Foley?

  What would be the move?

• 1:01:07Speaker 03

Coke? I'd get a club soda.

• 1:01:10Speaker 01

  That's a classy ass.

• 1:01:11Speaker 03

  Club soda with lime.

• 1:01:12Speaker 01

  It's a little dignified.

• 1:01:13Speaker 03

  It looks like a drink.

• 1:01:14H. Foley?

  Unsweetened iced tea.

• 1:01:16Speaker 03

I love it. Once I switched.

• 1:01:17H. Foley?

Can't say anything, you cannot say anything about a guy ordering an unsweetened iced tea.

• 1:01:21Speaker 03

It's just a guy that's trustworthy. It's just a guy you can really rely on.

• 1:01:25H. Foley?

  Lemon, no lemon?

• 1:01:26Speaker 03

  No lemon.

• 1:01:27H. Foley?

  No lemon?

• 1:01:28Speaker 03

Unless I'm feeling it, you know, then I'll give it a squirt and fucking cast aside. But also, breakfast and dinner, it's weirder if you're drinking orange juice.

• 1:01:39Speaker 01

I would probably, when I would have my dad.

• 1:01:41H. Foley?

What are you taking, your vitamins too? I have a fucking beer.

• 1:01:43Speaker 03

  Hey, put on some cartoons.

• 1:01:45Speaker 01

  Reading the paper.

• 1:01:45Speaker 03

Why don't you wear some footsie pajamas, you fucking psycho?

• 1:01:48H. Foley?

Well, you got those on, of course.

• 1:01:49Speaker 03

  Yeah.

• 1:01:50Speaker 01

I would probably do iced tea.

• 1:01:52Speaker 03

  Iced tea with it?

• 1:01:53Speaker 01

When I was a kid, I would do breakfast, my dad would do breakfast for dinner. We'd have Wawa, you know, half a gallon of Wawa iced tea, that's probably what that, or a Hi-C.

• 1:02:00Speaker 03

  That's great.

• 1:02:00Speaker 01

But I probably had that with, I probably had that with dinner anyway.

• 1:02:03Speaker 03

  You cracked it. Hi-C.

• 1:02:04H. Foley?

  Splash of vodka?

• 1:02:06Speaker 03

I mean, we're doing breakfast for dinner, you know? You're making breakfast because those kids ain't coming this weekend.

• 1:02:10Speaker 01

Have you ever ordered a screwdriver at a place?

• 1:02:13Speaker 03

Yeah, I used, I mean, screwdrivers were like, get me there fast.

• 1:02:17Speaker 01

  That's dirtbag shit.

• 1:02:18Speaker 03

A screwdriver, I would fuck, dude, I remember, I worked in Tucson at this radio station, KFMA, shout out KFMA.

• 1:02:23Speaker 01

  Shout out.

• 1:02:25Speaker 03

Uh, largest Southwest concert, uh, in America. It was awesome.

• 1:02:29Speaker 01

On a Tuesday, a lot of qualifiers.

• 1:02:31Speaker 03

A lot of qual, no, I'll keep going down, with bands from the 90s. But we, um, I was like 20, and I was working, uh, the big concert Offspring was headlining? And I drank like, eight screwdrivers?

• 1:02:46Speaker 01

  It's too many.

• 1:02:47Speaker 03

  Blacked out.

• 1:02:48Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 1:02:48Speaker 03

Don't remember being on stage for Offspring.

• 1:02:50H. Foley?

What was the vodka, do you remember?

• 1:02:52Speaker 03

  Uh, Pop-Off.

• 1:02:53H. Foley?

  Yeah, I was gonna say.

• 1:02:54Speaker 01

  Same Pop, same Pop-Off vodka.

• 1:02:55H. Foley?

  It's never velvet, dear.

• 1:02:56Speaker 03

  Never.

• 1:02:57Speaker 01

We did screwdrivers, Pop-Off vodka. In my buddy's garage, listening to Billy Joel.

• 1:03:02Speaker 03

  Great.

• 1:03:03Speaker 01

Just discovered Billy Joel, probably sixteen. Listening to Billy Joel, cranking heaters, he had a couch in the garage.

• 1:03:08Speaker 03

  Take me there.

• 1:03:10Speaker 01

  And buddy.

• 1:03:10Speaker 03

  Hoku mo.

• 1:03:11Speaker 01

I fell, cold was probably autumn night, I fucking fell to where the ground comes up to you, you know?

• 1:03:17Speaker 03

  Oh, yeah.

• 1:03:18Speaker 01

And like, I stayed straight, I fell.

• 1:03:20Speaker 03

  Yeah.

• 1:03:21Speaker 01

And that, but dude, right through it, like a card table, and I just fucking plodged.

• 1:03:26Speaker 03

  Yeah.

• 1:03:26H. Foley?

  Like a Guy Ritchie movie.

• 1:03:28Speaker 01

  Yeah, it was fucking bad.

• 1:03:29Speaker 03

You wanna know why Kevin's in that table right now?

• 1:03:32H. Foley?

I bet you're wondering what happened here.

• 1:03:34Speaker 03

It's a cold August night in Pennsylvania. Old Kevin over there's had too many screwdrivers. Problem is, that card table can't held his weight. Yeah, dude, I, um, take me back, I remember, uh, having a-

• 1:03:48Speaker 01

  God, he's good.

• 1:03:48Speaker 03

I remember having a crush on a girl in high school. She had a boyfriend, but we made out, and it-

• 1:03:53Speaker 01

  Whoa!

• 1:03:53Speaker 03

  And it like-

• 1:03:54Speaker 01

  Home wrecker.

• 1:03:55H. Foley?

  Nice.

• 1:03:55Speaker 03

Dude, but it was like, I had been waiting for that one. I had been going to her house and listening to music in my car with her, smoking cigarettes, just flirting, knowing she was a taken lady. And then we made out, and I was friends with the guy.

• 1:04:08H. Foley?

Did the dude know this? I was gonna say.

• 1:04:10Speaker 03

He found out, end of friendship, haven't spoke to him since.

• 1:04:12Speaker 01

But did he know you were going over there to listen to tunes and crank heaters?

• 1:04:15Speaker 03

No, I wa- I was telling her to break up with him, I was like, you should break up with him, we should make this clean.

• 1:04:19Speaker 01

This guy's working from the inside.

• 1:04:20H. Foley?

  Jesus.

• 1:04:20Speaker 03

We were close, we were associates.

• 1:04:23Speaker 01

  Okay.

• 1:04:23Speaker 03

Friends of friends, and, uh, we made out.

• 1:04:28Speaker 03

  Fireworks.

• 1:04:29Speaker 01

  There you go.

• 1:04:29Speaker 03

Woo! Fireworks, made out twice, I went back to her house. Fireworks.

• 1:04:33Speaker 01

At that point, you know it's, you know it's unlocked.

• 1:04:35Speaker 03

And then she told, she was like, I told my boyfriend, I'm staying with him.

• 1:04:38Speaker 01

  He wants to kill you.

• 1:04:39Speaker 03

  Yeah.

• 1:04:39Speaker 01

He's on his, he's on his way here right now.

• 1:04:41Speaker 03

Yes, that kinda thing, I go, I was like, huh? You know, you're, you're gonna go, no, no, no, I think you meant, we're in love.

• 1:04:48Speaker 01

  Uh-huh.

• 1:04:48Speaker 03

And she goes, no, no, no, I'm staying with him, I told him about you, he hates you, all of his friends are gunning for you now, and you're like- Anxiety.

• 1:04:57Speaker 01

You slid the mixtape back into your vodka.

• 1:05:00Speaker 03

  Um.

• 1:05:00Speaker 01

But I already got this tattoo with your name on it.

• 1:05:02Speaker 03

I was bringing over a recipe for your mom.

• 1:05:04H. Foley?

Could you handle this guy or no?

• 1:05:05Speaker 03

Yeah, I probably could have. Push comes to shove, I probably would. I didn't want to. I felt bad.

• 1:05:09H. Foley?

His boys are looking for you too? That's a little excessive.

• 1:05:12Speaker 01

  That's a posse.

• 1:05:12Speaker 03

His boys were smoking Newport's. I could have punched him in the chest and shattered his lungs. I wasn't afraid of him. But I felt bad. I felt genuinely bad for him and um.

• 1:05:22H. Foley?

  Sure. Did he confront you?

• 1:05:24Speaker 03

No, never spoke to me. Never spoke to me again.

• 1:05:26H. Foley?

  You're in high school?

• 1:05:27Speaker 03

We had a huge, we had 3,000 kids in our high school.

• 1:05:29H. Foley?

  Damn.

• 1:05:30Speaker 03

You didn't have to see anybody you didn't want to see.

• 1:05:31H. Foley?

  No kidding.

• 1:05:32Speaker 03

  But uh.

• 1:05:33H. Foley?

  Blend in.

• 1:05:34Speaker 03

I was so heartbroken that I drank two rock, two pint glasses of absolute citron from under, from my mom's liquor cabinet.

• 1:05:48H. Foley?

That's gonna give you a heartbreak.

• 1:05:49Speaker 01

  Every, everybody had that.

• 1:05:51Speaker 03

  With Pepsi.

• 1:05:51H. Foley?

  Ah.

• 1:05:52Speaker 03

What I would do is, uh, yeah, lemon Pepsi.

• 1:05:54Speaker 01

Actually, not that bad. It's less Pepsi with a lemon. Sounds very refreshing.

• 1:05:59Speaker 03

Oh man, I'm so glad I get to take you guys back to 2001 Aurora, Colorado, in my garage, in the Dodge Strad ass, my car.

• 1:06:08H. Foley?

  Absolute soda.

• 1:06:09Speaker 03

Absolute. And I would do, so I'd take, I'd take this, uh, I'd take from Papa, there was the, I remember the pint glass was from Papa Do's, the restaurant in Denver. And I had a, I had a Papa Do's glass full of absolute citron and I would go, I'd just fucking slam like two chugs and then Pepsi, right? Finished one, felt phenomenal.

• 1:06:32Speaker 01

Well, it hasn't caught up yet. Your, your process, you've, your only, your body's only processing the first two shots, not the pint glass.

• 1:06:39Speaker 03

Kevin, I am in my garage ripping heaters, car door open. My mom's car is there, so my car door is open, so I'm doing the slide thing in, into my car. Bumping different songs and then, I'm not proud of this. My friend comes over, I drink a second glass, to the point that he's like, you, this is too much. And then he leaves and I cried, we were talking about cry smoking. I cried smoke to Dave Matthews Band.

• 1:07:05H. Foley?

  Which one?

• 1:07:06Speaker 03

  Um.

• 1:07:07H. Foley?

  Crash?

• 1:07:07Speaker 03

You know what it was? It was, um, the Steve Lilly White tapes got leaked.

• 1:07:14Speaker 01

What the hell are you talking about?

• 1:07:15Speaker 03

Dave Matthews Band fans know what I'm talking about. And if you grew up a white guy in Colorado, you probably liked the little DMV.

• 1:07:20H. Foley?

These are live show tapes, I assume.

• 1:07:22Speaker 03

Well, it became the album busted stuff. But before it came out, it was called the Lilly White tapes. There was a song on there called-

• 1:07:27Speaker 01

I don't think you're making those names up.

• 1:07:28Speaker 03

  I'm not.

• 1:07:29Speaker 01

It was about busted stuff and ragged rocks.

• 1:07:31Speaker 03

People are gonna follow this and they're gonna go, he's right, he's right. Uh, but there was a song on there called bartender. And I was blackout drunk and I remember weeping to that. And then having the worst 48 hour hangover I've ever had in my life.

• 1:07:44H. Foley?

I would've stayed with the guy too.

• 1:07:45Speaker 03

Yeah. She was right, she made the right choice. She's a, she's a mom now, God bless her.

• 1:07:50Speaker 01

  Sure.

• 1:07:51H. Foley?

  You keep tabs on her?

• 1:07:52Speaker 03

Uh, her sister came to my show in Virginia and heckled me.

• 1:07:58H. Foley?

  Jesus.

• 1:07:59Speaker 03

And I was like, who are you? She like said something about my past where I go, how the fuck does a heckler know that about my past?

• 1:08:04H. Foley?

  I would've freaked out.

• 1:08:06Speaker 01

You used to cry in your Dodge Stratus pussy, what?

• 1:08:09Speaker 03

I used to watch you outside. She was the little sister, so she definitely was like, I used to watch you outside the window, you were in love with my sister. And then her and her husband came backstage. And I was like-

• 1:08:17Speaker 01

Your sister's a huge dumb whore?

• 1:08:20Speaker 03

No, we actually hooked up in our twenties.

• 1:08:23H. Foley?

  Whoa.

• 1:08:24Speaker 03

Yeah. I righted that wrong. God bless.

• 1:08:27Speaker 01

Look at you. For you, huh?

• 1:08:28Speaker 03

  It was pretty sick.

• 1:08:29H. Foley?

You didn't tell her the bartender story, did you?

• 1:08:31Speaker 03

No. I acted like it was no thing.

• 1:08:34Speaker 01

  I don't even remember it.

• 1:08:35Speaker 03

She let me fuck. She definitely didn't hear the story about I was a pathetic crying loser.

• 1:08:41Speaker 01

Hey guys, that's against guy code.

• 1:08:43Speaker 03

That's breaking guy code. Coming up, is drinking water gay?
