Hey, can you come pick me up? Yeah, what's wrong? Nothing. Are you sure? Yeah, no, I just need a ride. Oh, my God. So what? I just want to have fun. Start your engine. Tiger.

• 0:30Benito Skinner?

  I'm Benito Skinner.

• 0:31Mary Beth Barone?

  I'm Mary Beth Barone.

• 0:33Benito Skinner?

  And this

• 0:33Mary Beth Barone?

  is

• 0:34Benito Skinner?

  Ride.

• 0:39Mary Beth Barone?

Welcome back to Ride the Podcast. I'm Mary Beth Barone.

• 0:42Benito Skinner?

And I'm Benito Skinner. I'm very nervous, so I'm just gonna

• 0:47Mary Beth Barone?

  Cut the cameras.

• 0:48Benito Skinner?

  So

• 0:48Mary Beth Barone?

  Dead ass, cut the cameras.

• 0:49Benito Skinner?

Dead ass, cut the cameras. So we are actually going to cut cameras for this next part because I just would prefer to never see it on camera or see myself saying these things elsewhere. Hopefully someone just goes and animates it. I can only

• 1:06Mary Beth Barone?

  AI.

• 1:07Benito Skinner?

Fingers crossed. Come on, I know you can do it.

• 1:10Mary Beth Barone?

  We're all here for you.

• 1:11Benito Skinner?

Okay, thank you. Terry and I are no longer together. Why is my brain going? They're just people swerving off the road.

• 1:20Mary Beth Barone?

That's literally what I was just picturing. That's so crazy.

• 1:22Benito Skinner?

  I'm sorry if you

• 1:23Mary Beth Barone?

I hope they all pulled over.

• 1:25Benito Skinner?

I hope, yeah, maybe pull over. So I will say that we both just love each other so much and have so much love and respect for each other. And we treated each other with love and respect until the end. So I just want to make that really clear. Over the years, I've seen comments that say, if you break up, I'll stop believing in love or I'll KMS. So I would just strongly urge to not do that.

• 1:51Mary Beth Barone?

  Please.

• 1:51Benito Skinner?

I think that if us breaking up makes you stop believing in love, I think it should be the opposite because I was with someone so special to me for nine years in a committed relationship with my best friend. We loved and championed each other. We grew up together in so many ways. My whole twenties were with Terry and I feel so Unbelievably lucky to have met him and be a part of his family. I love his family. I love the cousins. So I hope that if anything, you should believe and love because I really had it. And I really feel so lucky to have met him and be around his genius. He is always a friend of this, of this pod. Grandpa Terry forever.

• 2:31Mary Beth Barone?

  Grandpa Terry is eternal.

• 2:32Benito Skinner?

Grandpa Terry is eternal. This is about 10 seconds in, I guess, which is a little devastating. I will say that some of you clearly started to know something was going on. So if any of you have predictions for the end of the world or the next COVID, I definitely will be paying attention. And yes, I did make him promise that he will never date an actor younger than me. That was my one request and spit shook on it. So I would love a little bit of privacy and respect for both of us. I love Terry, as I said, and his family and everybody. So, yeah.

• 3:02Mary Beth Barone?

And it's amicable. So we're still riding for Terry.

• 3:05Benito Skinner?

Of course. And yeah, it's like there's just-

• 3:08Mary Beth Barone?

He's part of the ride universe forever and always.

• 3:09Benito Skinner?

Here I go. There's no foul play.

• 3:11Mary Beth Barone?

  No foul play.

• 3:12Benito Skinner?

  It's just literally-

• 3:13Mary Beth Barone?

  No negativity.

• 3:14Benito Skinner?

Two people who want the best for each other. And I'm so excited to root him on. He sent me such a beautiful text recently and he said that he'll always be rooting for me and I'm always going to be rooting for him and Grandpa Terry forever. And now I'm probably gonna just take a second, maybe cry with my best friend. And then we come back, I guess I'll say, come on, kerplunk or-

• 3:33Mary Beth Barone?

  Something like that.

• 3:34Benito Skinner?

  Something like that.

• 3:35Mary Beth Barone?

Palette cleanser. Something like a palette cleanser.

• 3:37Benito Skinner?

Sorry to start this off like this, you guys. Just had to tell the kids.

• 3:40Mary Beth Barone?

  Yeah.

• 3:41Benito Skinner?

  Yeah.

• 3:41Mary Beth Barone?

We love you and I'm sorry you're going through it.

• 3:45Benito Skinner?

You told the wizard where I live.

• 3:47Mary Beth Barone?

I did. I said, I think it's time to move on.

• 3:51Mary Beth Barone?

It's time to move on for me.

• 3:52Benito Skinner?

To get over me. You gotta give-

• 3:54Mary Beth Barone?

  I said Glenn.

• 3:56Benito Skinner?

  Please.

• 3:57Mary Beth Barone?

  Let it go.

• 3:58Benito Skinner?

God, go to this gay guy instead. Okay, we'll, we'll put the cameras back.

• 4:02Mary Beth Barone?

  How do you feel?

• 4:04Benito Skinner?

I was very nervous to do that. I feel a little bit like I'm letting the kids down, but I think if if I've learned anything over the past year, it's like that this is a beautiful space for healing and love and friendship and I'm I do it with you by my side, so I'm okay. It's so hard to describe that there's just so much love there, like in every way.

• 4:24Mary Beth Barone?

  Yeah.

• 4:24Benito Skinner?

I just, Terry is incredible and a genius and-

• 4:27Mary Beth Barone?

I mean, he shot the ride cover, all three.

• 4:29Benito Skinner?

  Come on.

• 4:30Mary Beth Barone?

  So.

• 4:31Benito Skinner?

And we'll probably make him do four.

• 4:33Mary Beth Barone?

  Yeah.

• 4:33Benito Skinner?

  Just because, yeah.

• 4:34Mary Beth Barone?

The journey we've taken the baronies on, this is what life is. You're listening to a podcast that is hosted by two people in their 30s. It's a huge time for change.

• 4:43Benito Skinner?

Yeah, it's kind of like, whoa.

• 4:45Mary Beth Barone?

Our lives have completely changed since we started this podcast.

• 4:47Benito Skinner?

Have you guys ever cried in every airport in the world, I ask? Oh, oh, so I also have to shout out something that happened and it kind of makes-

• 4:54Mary Beth Barone?

Also, I'm struggling with words for this. Like, I don't know what to say other than I love you both so dearly and thank you for parting ways on such good terms where it's like, you know, we can really just ride for both of you into the sunset. I just don't know what to say, so that's why I'm not saying more. I don't want the baronies to be like, why isn't she talking? I'm like, I don't know what to say.

• 5:16Benito Skinner?

You know what's so funny? I know exactly what your feeling was because it's how I felt when we came back after your dad passed away, because I was like, well, and this is super similar, that it's kind of the exact same grief.

• 5:25Mary Beth Barone?

  Yeah, no, it is.

• 5:26Benito Skinner?

And so my grief is even worse, I'd say, but no, where it's like, it feels like it's the first time, because it's like on camera and you're on mic and it's like, I've talked to you about this a lot.

• 5:34Mary Beth Barone?

  But now it feels real.

• 5:36Benito Skinner?

It does feel real, which is like why I think I'm a little shaky and a little uncomfortable. But yeah, it's it's very surreal. I had this like really beautiful moment happen where I was in this airport and was like really going, "Dee."

• 5:50Mary Beth Barone?

  We can still have fun.

• 5:51Benito Skinner?

"Dee, have fun." So, yeah, I was at the airport and I was crying in a corner and I like had full hoodie and like just trying so hard. And this girl came up and I was like, oh, God, like this is so, this is gonna be bad. I feel so bad that she's seen me like this. And she just grabbed my arm and said, "Love you, Benny," and then walked away. It literally makes me wanna cry.

• 6:11Mary Beth Barone?

That's so sweet. That's a beautiful moment. That's humanity. We need more of that.

• 6:15Benito Skinner?

I really needed it. It was really sweet. I'm very excited for both of us and for what lies ahead.

• 6:21Mary Beth Barone?

  Great big world out there.

• 6:22Benito Skinner?

  Scary world.

• 6:23Mary Beth Barone?

We're gonna do it all. So we're both single at the same time.

• 6:27Benito Skinner?

I'm telling you, you called up this wizard.

• 6:32Mary Beth Barone?

I didn't call him. He showed up at my house. He showed up at my house earlier this year.

• 6:37Benito Skinner?

  Yeah.

• 6:38Mary Beth Barone?

  My love.

• 6:38Benito Skinner?

  Oh, yeah.

• 6:39Mary Beth Barone?

I had to get him away from me. For a bit. I said, I just need a fucking break.

• 6:43Benito Skinner?

You didn't know that he went woo. Came right up into my house.

• 6:46Mary Beth Barone?

I guess it is spooky season. It's weird, the timing of it all, because I announced my breakup with Edward last year on Halloween episode.

• 6:52Benito Skinner?

  Yeah.

• 6:52Mary Beth Barone?

And that was around the same time.

• 6:54Benito Skinner?

When you see what we're being for Halloween, I think you'll know why I maybe did it this week.

• 6:57Mary Beth Barone?

  Yeah.

• 6:58Benito Skinner?

It's so weird, too. It's like you have to tell people and the strangeness of that, because it's like, how many brunches can you go to where someone like puts their hands over their mouth? And I'm just like, oh, I can't, I don't know if I can do this anymore. So

• 7:10Mary Beth Barone?

  Yeah.

• 7:10Benito Skinner?

Probably pretty soon here. I'm like, what are you even supposed to do at a certain point?

• 7:13Mary Beth Barone?

  Well, you just had.

• 7:14Benito Skinner?

  To a close friend's story?

• 7:15Mary Beth Barone?

You start a podcast three to four years earlier.

• 7:17Benito Skinner?

Why do you think we have this?

• 7:18Mary Beth Barone?

  Build an audience.

• 7:19Benito Skinner?

Why do you think we have this?

• 7:20Mary Beth Barone?

And then you announce it there. It's the press release.

• 7:21Benito Skinner?

  Yeah.

• 7:22Mary Beth Barone?

I think people are going to be really stunned. I think it's going to be sad. And any children of divorce that listen to the podcast, like, I'm sorry to re-traumatize you.

• 7:30Benito Skinner?

Oh, yeah. I mean, we've traumatized a few friends, so, so hope they'll be okay. I will say, yeah, it's funny. Also, people do this thing where they're like, hey, we're not picking sides. And I'm like, well, I didn't think you were, but now that you say that.

• 7:42Mary Beth Barone?

There's no sides, because it's like, it ended.

• 7:44Benito Skinner?

  Yeah.

• 7:45Mary Beth Barone?

  Like, in a kind way.

• 7:46Benito Skinner?

  Exactly. I'm like, we're good.

• 7:47Mary Beth Barone?

You, me, and Terry are in a group chat. We're keeping each other abreast of the goings on.

• 7:52Benito Skinner?

  Of course.

• 7:52Mary Beth Barone?

And so it's like, you know, I texted yesterday just saying, like, can we still talk about this?

• 7:56Benito Skinner?

  Of course.

• 7:56Mary Beth Barone?

And we can, and that's really cool.

• 7:58Benito Skinner?

  Yeah.

• 7:58Mary Beth Barone?

So I would say it's reminiscent, if I may, of a little breakup that I went through. Not the most recent one, the one before that.

• 8:06Benito Skinner?

I mean, yeah, like, me and Eddie Obama are still shooting the shit. He had, someone drew him recently, and I just thought, I need that. And he said, I can arrange. Yeah. Got him a J. Crew sweater. I don't know. It's like, that's just kind of my baby. And we're all.

• 8:19Mary Beth Barone?

We're just a little dysfunctional little family, and like, we're a little fucked up.

• 8:22Benito Skinner?

You know that really, that brutal part in Freaky Friday? I don't know why. It's like, this line read kind of just gives me tingles. I never saw Freaky Friday, but I need it on planes.

• 8:31Mary Beth Barone?

Soon. I sense that it'll be soon.

• 8:33Benito Skinner?

  Missoni for Delta.

• 8:34Mary Beth Barone?

  Delta one. Delta one.

• 8:36Benito Skinner?

Is Jamie Lee Curtis says, we just had this little unit. You know, when she gives the speech at the end, and it's Lindsay Lohan through her?

• 8:43Mary Beth Barone?

  Sure.

• 8:43Benito Skinner?

And she, just this little unit. And I just, I think about it.

• 8:46Mary Beth Barone?

You know what line read I've been thinking about from Lindsay Lohan movie?

• 8:48Benito Skinner?

  What origin?

• 8:49Mary Beth Barone?

Six pounds, seven ounces? This is how I look at her.

• 8:53Benito Skinner?

  Chessy.

• 8:53Mary Beth Barone?

I've been dressing in Chessy Core a lot more lately.

• 8:55Benito Skinner?

  You got that Chessy vibe.

• 8:56Mary Beth Barone?

  I kinda love Chessy.

• 8:58Benito Skinner?

Yeah, cuz Chessy wore a lot of Miu Miu bralettes with an overshirt. You're right. I would say I'm, I love, I mean, Dennis Quaid is definitely a

• 9:06Mary Beth Barone?

  preference.

• 9:06Benito Skinner?

  North star for me, yeah.

• 9:08Mary Beth Barone?

  Not politically.

• 9:08Benito Skinner?

It's like, what do you even talk about after you talk about a breakup in nine years?

• 9:11Mary Beth Barone?

I think we shouldn't do anything else for the intro.

• 9:14Benito Skinner?

  Yeah.

• 9:14Mary Beth Barone?

I just don't think, cuz like, obviously, I have a bunch of amazing things to say.

• 9:19Benito Skinner?

Well, I think you should. I mean, I just think it's Yeah, I mean, no, I need it. I, I feel like I just did like a stadium tour, as I always do.

• 9:26Mary Beth Barone?

You just did a Shakespeare monologue to me. That's what that was like.

• 9:30Benito Skinner?

  Yeah.

• 9:30Mary Beth Barone?

  I am big pantomime.

• 9:32Benito Skinner?

Yeah. I will say one other thing, Carrie, four minutes in. We did think of, obviously out of respect for them and for our nine-year relationship, we're not doing this, but we were like, should we be Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban for Halloween?

• 9:46Mary Beth Barone?

  I didn't even hear that. That's genius.

• 9:48Benito Skinner?

And we did, yeah, we're, we're not gonna do that out of respect to both of those, those beautiful and long relationships. You know he's Nicole. Come on. Yeah. I would have loved to do Keith's, you know, kinda sideswept bang moment.

• 10:01Mary Beth Barone?

  With the highlights.

• 10:02Benito Skinner?

And just the height difference. Like, it's kinda perfect.

• 10:05Mary Beth Barone?

Your guys' Halloween suggestions were almost as unhinged as your merch ideas, by the way.

• 10:09Benito Skinner?

And what we're actually doing. I mean, they, they came pretty close.

• 10:12Mary Beth Barone?

  Some people did guess it.

• 10:13Benito Skinner?

  Oh, really?

• 10:14Mary Beth Barone?

Yeah, I didn't post those, though.

• 10:15Benito Skinner?

  God damn it.

• 10:16Mary Beth Barone?

  Yeah.

• 10:16Benito Skinner?

Only like a couple, though, right? I like to be in it, but not totally in it.

• 10:19Mary Beth Barone?

Not like so on the nose that everyone. I guess we could talk about this dress that is not my usual silhouette. It's a little baggy.

• 10:26Benito Skinner?

  I wanted to do that.

• 10:27Mary Beth Barone?

So I just wanna address that it isn't, it's not my usual silhouette. I know what you're thinking.

• 10:31Benito Skinner?

Daddy, daddy, daddy got it for you.

• 10:33Mary Beth Barone?

You did. You, you, you took me acne and you said, anything you want.

• 10:37Benito Skinner?

I don't know. I was just feeling good. I need someone to spoil.

• 10:40Mary Beth Barone?

Oh, I was in a K-hole last week.

• 10:42Benito Skinner?

Oh, good. Yeah, yeah. Let's go from that. Yeah, yeah, right into it.

• 10:45Mary Beth Barone?

Just briefly, yeah, I did that happened. It was scary.

• 10:48Benito Skinner?

You know, I was in a K-hole once and I was around a bunch of friends and I, I did this bit where I was doing brand deals for each of them. It really killed, actually.

• 10:55Mary Beth Barone?

  I was, I was not in a K-hole, but I was on K at a wedding, obviously.

• 10:59Benito Skinner?

  Yeah.

• 10:59Mary Beth Barone?

And I was doing this whole dunce bit.

• 11:01Benito Skinner?

  Refitiating.

• 11:02Mary Beth Barone?

  Yeah, I was officiating.

• 11:03Benito Skinner?

  Oh, dunce?

• 11:03Mary Beth Barone?

Yeah, and it was also my stomach's growling. I'm so hungry.

• 11:06Benito Skinner?

  Me too.

• 11:06Mary Beth Barone?

It killed. It totally destroyed. I mean, I was just the clown for these people. Big moment last night when I asked internal monologue, do you see me as a clown or do you see me as a sexual being? And unfortunately, it was the former. Now that we're both single, I posed this question to you. Would you rather date someone who smokes or someone who is a runner?

• 11:25Benito Skinner?

  Smokes, 100%.

• 11:27Mary Beth Barone?

I just think running is so obnoxious.

• 11:29Benito Skinner?

You know what? I hate the smell of someone returning from a run.

• 11:31Mary Beth Barone?

  Oh, my God, me too.

• 11:32Benito Skinner?

  Can I say that?

• 11:33Mary Beth Barone?

  Yeah.

• 11:34Benito Skinner?

I just think that's a stench that I don't want to be. I don't want to be enraptured in that.

• 11:40Mary Beth Barone?

  No.

• 11:40Benito Skinner?

But cigs, I'm kind of like, fuck, yeah.

• 11:41Mary Beth Barone?

Well, also, I think you could convince someone to stop smoking. I don't think you could convince a runner to stop running.

• 11:46Benito Skinner?

  It's in their blood.

• 11:47Mary Beth Barone?

  It's in their blood.

• 11:48Benito Skinner?

Fully cigarettes are an addiction. But here's the thing. Yeah, I don't, yeah, I don't care. I think it's just like, let her rip, you know? I guess a lot of my choices in TV and song kind of makes sense now.

• 12:01Mary Beth Barone?

A lot of the shit you've been posting, you know, A Beautiful Mind?

• 12:06Benito Skinner?

  Should we just have sex?

• 12:08Mary Beth Barone?

Probably. But we have to do it here on camera.

• 12:12Benito Skinner?

At the bar last night, looking at each other like.

• 12:14Mary Beth Barone?

Yeah. I will say, no, I won't say.

• 12:18Benito Skinner?

  Please say.

• 12:19Mary Beth Barone?

  I can't, I won't.

• 12:20Benito Skinner?

  Haven't I been through enough?

• 12:21Mary Beth Barone?

I'm not saying anything. No, I don't want to. I don't want to. But like, welcome to hell.

• 12:29Benito Skinner?

I do, you know what? Lana Del Rey has this line, it's Kintsugi, obviously.

• 12:33Mary Beth Barone?

Don't bring her up to me.

• 12:35Benito Skinner?

I am. Lana Del Rey has this line where she says, I don't trust myself with my heart. And I really, and then she goes, but I have to let it break a little more.

• 12:44Mary Beth Barone?

What are you writing for this week?

• 12:46Benito Skinner?

  Going nonverbal.

• 12:48Mary Beth Barone?

Wow, I'm writing for getting bangs in your 30s. Should we get into it? I'm gonna go first.

• 12:52Benito Skinner?

  Yeah.

• 12:54Mary Beth Barone?

Isn't that cool? Isn't that tantalizing? So I take probiotics because as you know, I'm a gluten-free and dairy-free girly, and I just think my microbiome is like a little bit finicky, you know? She's fragile. So it's just important to take Ritual every day to help with digestion. Guess what I did before I got in my cozy little bed? I took a shower, didn't wash my hair. That's right, I had it up and I had a little headband on to not get my bangs wet. And I used my Osea scrub. The secret to glowing skin starts in the sea. Andaria seaweed is the not-so-secret ingredient in Osea's best-selling Andaria Algae Body Oil. I have the body oil, I use the body wash. I use the body oil occasionally, only when I don't have anything to do later. So it's actually really good for a nighttime shower. Seaweed is a nutrient-dense superfood packed with vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants that help replenish the skin's moisture barrier and keep the skin looking healthy. Osea's number one best-selling product makes my skin look and feel silky smooth and soft.

• 16:54Mary Beth Barone?

Not that anyone's touching it, just me and maybe Benny sometimes. He does often compliment on how smooth my skin is, especially on the buttocks, which is where I use the body scrub. The TikTok-famous Andaria Algae Body Oil is not your typical body oil. It's rich, it's never greasy, and clinically shown to instantly improve skin elasticity. Fast-absorbing with a V, transforms skin to silky soft and unbelievably glowing. Seaweed is packed with vitamins A, C, and E, minerals like iodine, magnesium, and calcium, and free radical fighting antioxidants. It's so interesting. I mean, some people who listen to this podcast probably think I'm annoying and they don't like me, and now they have to hear these ads with just me.

• 18:02Mary Beth Barone?

  Wait, where are we going?

• 18:03Benito Skinner?

  Who cares? Ride!

• 18:05Mary Beth Barone?

So, obviously, I had bangs in high school. My senior portrait, I have full, full bangs.

• 18:10Benito Skinner?

So what kind of bangs? Are we like Anne Hathaway, Devil Wears Prada?

• 18:13Mary Beth Barone?

Yeah, Anne Hathaway, Devil Wears Prada. And I might go back to that at some point, but I'm not ready to do that right now.

• 18:19Benito Skinner?

And the show won't allow it?

• 18:21Mary Beth Barone?

And the show, I'm under contract.

• 18:22Benito Skinner?

  Very strict.

• 18:23Mary Beth Barone?

So, I have had bangs as a young person. And I will say, as you could probably guess, doing my hair as a teenager, there was nothing more serious or important in the world than doing my hair. I was the type of person who, if there was a bump in the ponytail, I'm telling my mom, we're redoing it.

• 18:40Benito Skinner?

  Yeah.

• 18:40Mary Beth Barone?

She gave me blowouts. I've talked about this before, from when I was eight years old, maybe even younger. There's videos of me with full blowouts, just like as a child, a very small person. And I used to straighten my hair every single day in high school.

• 18:53Benito Skinner?

I was small, I was really tiny.

• 18:54Mary Beth Barone?

I was tiny. I used to straighten while I was a kid. I would straighten my hair every single night, and then, you know, go over it once in the morning, too. So having bangs, when you have my personality type, it can become a full-time job, it's an obsession.

• 19:08Benito Skinner?

  I can only imagine.

• 19:09Mary Beth Barone?

It's a fixation in a lot of ways.

• 19:10Benito Skinner?

  Yeah.

• 19:10Mary Beth Barone?

So what's been really cool about getting bangs in my 30s is like, they don't have to look perfect. Like, I've embraced having bangs in my 30s in this beautiful way, or it's like, sometimes they don't look that good. And I'm like, I just don't care. Like, I don't care, this is me.

• 19:25Benito Skinner?

Are the bangs in the room with us, by the way?

• 19:28Mary Beth Barone?

  Oh, I don't know.

• 19:30Benito Skinner?

It's funny, they're like face framing, they kind of give them... They're curtain bangs, which I love, I mean, it's so cool.

• 19:35Mary Beth Barone?

Which I had curtain bangs in high school for a lot, a lot of my years, and, but I had a side part at the time, so it was like a little different.

• 19:41Benito Skinner?

Yeah, I chimed in with the, haven't you people ever heard of?

• 19:44Mary Beth Barone?

Of closing the goddamn door. But my friend texted me the other day, and I just, I want to read the response. Basically, they were like, how's having bangs? And I was like, I'm embracing it as only a person in their 30s could. And like, I've made this choice to make my life a little more complicated. And I, I love it, I'm embracing it, and it's like, it's fun. It's fun to have a little, you know, flair.

• 20:03Benito Skinner?

They're so cute, can I just say? Can I just, off the bat, say, cutie makes you cute? I love, yeah, I love them on you. I think, for some reason, it really unlocked a latent meester-ness for me. I don't know if Blair ever had that, or if she has them now?

• 20:18Mary Beth Barone?

  Yeah.

• 20:19Benito Skinner?

  I don't know, it's like, I just think they're so...

• 20:20Mary Beth Barone?

  And that means the world.

• 20:21Benito Skinner?

They're so cutesy, and there's something about a haircut. Can I just say, had to cut my hair. It was important because it's like, I don't know. It's like Alaska. You know what I mean? It's just like, cut your hair. Fuck her.

• 20:31Mary Beth Barone?

  Yeah.

• 20:31Benito Skinner?

So, yeah, I think there's something very freeing also of being, of finding the beauty in the imperfections.

• 20:39Mary Beth Barone?

  Exactly.

• 20:40Benito Skinner?

But I don't think, I mean, I think they always look really fucking good. Yeah.

• 20:44Mary Beth Barone?

I mean, sometimes they look a little messy or like, you know, they're like.

• 20:47Benito Skinner?

Oh, were you just quoting Eternal Sunshine? Because that is a dangerous album of legislation.

• 20:52Mary Beth Barone?

  Speaking of which.

• 20:53Benito Skinner?

  Yeah.

• 20:54Mary Beth Barone?

I'm in my video vixen era. I was asked by a 22 year old Australian artist who's six foot five to play his love interest in a movie, in a music video, and I had to say yes. I had no choice.

• 21:05Benito Skinner?

  It's a movie.

• 21:07Mary Beth Barone?

He is a total doll and I actually asked him to send me a voice note of what he writes for. And I said, you have to say Audio Jungle at the end. I haven't heard this. I don't know how long it's gonna be.

• 21:14Benito Skinner?

  It's gonna be Australian accent.

• 21:15Mary Beth Barone?

  Yeah, you ready?

• 21:16Benito Skinner?

  I'm just preparing.

• 21:17Speaker 04

Hello, Ride listeners and hosts. This is Rul speaking. Hello, Mary Beth and Benny. Thank you so much for featuring me on this episode. I'm very honored. Think of this as almost like an audition to become a real guest one day. I'm gonna give you my little micro ride of the day, which is bad posture. I love bad posture. I think it is way more comfy than good posture. I think we were told to have good posture as if, you know, it's like this terrible thing that our back's gonna break and we're all that. And I might be coming from a place of privilege in terms of youth. And not saying you guys wouldn't feel that too. I know you guys are like super young as well, like hell yeah. But yeah, I just feel like I'm not gonna feel the effects of it.

• 21:58Speaker 04

I only feel uncomfortable when I am giving good posture and walking around with good posture. I love slouching. I love having my neck at like a 90 degree angle at my phone when I'm walking around.

• 22:11Benito Skinner?

  Yeah, of course.

• 22:13Speaker 04

Where it wants to be. I think humans have to adapt and this is now what we're adapting to. It's like a notion of like, you know, the.

• 22:20Benito Skinner?

  Imagine this is 20 minutes.

• 22:21Mary Beth Barone?

He said I could cut some, but I don't know how long it is.

• 22:23Speaker 04

  I think that's.

• 22:24Mary Beth Barone?

I have no idea when it's coming.

• 22:24Benito Skinner?

  I'm loving it.

• 22:25Mary Beth Barone?

  Yeah.

• 22:26Speaker 04

I also think people who have good posture are walking around. I don't like the look of them. I think they're looking a little bit too, you know. Big for their boots, a little like, "Look at me, all goody-two-shoes, my good tosh posture." I think that is unattractive, personally.

• 22:42Benito Skinner?

  Shots got right at me.

• 22:43Speaker 04

So yeah, that's what I think about good posture.

• 22:46Benito Skinner?

  Posture.

• 22:47Speaker 04

Bad posture. I ride for bad posture. Thank you, guys, for having me. I love both of you. Bye, Benny and Beth. Goodbye, ride listeners.

• 22:55Speaker 04

I guess, I'm gonna use podcast.

• 22:57Benito Skinner?

  Yeah, good. Of course.

• 22:59Mary Beth Barone?

He was supposed to say, "Send me audio jungle." I said, "You have to say audio jungle at the end."

• 23:04Benito Skinner?

  Scream at him.

• 23:05Mary Beth Barone?

So, that is a perfect ride.

• 23:07Benito Skinner?

I think that's as good as they get, because you know what? It's not something I would have ever thought of, but I so get that.

• 23:13Mary Beth Barone?

  Totally.

• 23:13Benito Skinner?

  Yeah.

• 23:14Mary Beth Barone?

I obviously have amazing posture. It's sort of one of my defining features.

• 23:18Benito Skinner?

  I agree.

• 23:18Mary Beth Barone?

But I have back, I have shoulder problems and neck problems.

• 23:21Benito Skinner?

You, when you whip out the strap.

• 23:22Mary Beth Barone?

The strap, the posture strap that is.

• 23:24Benito Skinner?

  I don't care if it's a strap. I said, "Nut in me."

• 23:26Mary Beth Barone?

I said, "Nut in me." So, that's the type of memes Benny's been sending me since he became single. It is a tweet that someone tweeted, "I don't care if it's a strap, nut in me." And I get that. I wake up to that, because, you know, time difference, and I'm thinking.

• 23:38Benito Skinner?

I just, if I see something that's fucking insane, I have to send it to you, because it's like, "How am I supposed to see this alone?"

• 23:45Mary Beth Barone?

No, I know. So, bad posture, I think it's really powerful, and it sort of goes into the whole idea of ride, which is like, "Live life out loud, have fun, do what you want to do."

• 23:53Benito Skinner?

  Yeah.

• 23:53Mary Beth Barone?

Rule is a total doll, but we were gonna start Fake Beef. I was like, "Oh, we should start Fake Beef before the video comes out." And he goes, "Yeah, what should it be about? Like, physical characteristics?" And I was like, "No."

• 24:04Benito Skinner?

  I'd never said that.

• 24:05Mary Beth Barone?

No, not that. Why did your mind go there?

• 24:07Benito Skinner?

The actress who said, "I like the lines on your face."

• 24:09Mary Beth Barone?

  I like them. Keep them.

• 24:11Benito Skinner?

  Me too.

• 24:11Mary Beth Barone?

So, he, "Stream Wild Guess." It is a song about a breakup. It's actually, and one of the reasons I said yes is, it's a very catchy song that I could listen to a thousand times. Boy singers.

• 24:21Benito Skinner?

  Yeah.

• 24:21Mary Beth Barone?

There is some music I don't think boys should be allowed to listen to. I wanted to say that. And also, there are some boy singers that have rights. Rule being one of them. R U E L, Voice of an Angel. He's the only one for right now.

• 24:33Benito Skinner?

I want him to pick me up.

• 24:34Mary Beth Barone?

He's gonna be in New York next week.

• 24:36Benito Skinner?

  Oh, I can't wait.

• 24:36Mary Beth Barone?

For some events, for the launch.

• 24:38Benito Skinner?

His next video, I'm seeing a gay cat.

• 24:41Mary Beth Barone?

  It's a gay narrative.

• 24:42Benito Skinner?

  How come everyone?

• 24:43Mary Beth Barone?

  "You are beautiful."

• 24:44Benito Skinner?

How come, how come everyone touched their bird after they watched New Rule video? Is my big question.

• 24:51Mary Beth Barone?

  And your media.

• 24:52Benito Skinner?

  You better fucking flip that.

• 24:54Mary Beth Barone?

The video is really fun. We play exes who are in a Western together.

• 24:57Benito Skinner?

Well, you sent me photos. I loved it. And I, can I just say, Rul, thank you so much. You brought my girl back to LA. I got her for a couple of days. She stayed with daddy.

• 25:04Mary Beth Barone?

I had a mental breakdown, but yeah.

• 25:06Benito Skinner?

  Oh, and I didn't? Girl.

• 25:08Mary Beth Barone?

  We went to horses.

• 25:09Benito Skinner?

Let's just say season two, I think it's gonna hit you in the balls. I'm very excited. I will say it's been, it's been really. We're going for the jugular. I'm really going for it in every way in the show. I'm so excited about season two. We're in the writers room right now.

• 25:21Mary Beth Barone?

But it, and, and, and I'm pitching every day in the room, Grace has a nipple piercing. Because I don't want to take it out again. Although this time, I think I could just take it out for this, whatever scene it is, if we show my tits. If I have any sex scenes, if I even have a romantic love interest. If I'm even in it. I mean, if I'm even in it, I'm still re-auditioning. So I just think, yeah, she should have one.

• 25:41Benito Skinner?

Me and Scott King, the showrunner, we were talking about this joke. If we like somehow found a way to tell you that they did need to see you tape again or something. And I did finally say, she's been through enough and we laughed together.

• 25:51Mary Beth Barone?

  That's fun.

• 25:52Benito Skinner?

I'm glad we laughed after it.

• 25:53Mary Beth Barone?

  And I wasn't there.

• 25:55Benito Skinner?

So you were nowhere to be found. It was just the two of us.

• 25:57Mary Beth Barone?

But it's just good. I think I'm in my music video, like, I would love to be in more. Actually, I don't even want to say that.

• 26:03Benito Skinner?

No, definitely. This is a platform.

• 26:04Mary Beth Barone?

No, I don't want to say that.

• 26:05Benito Skinner?

I announce my breakup, you do that. I mean, it's, well, that's why we have this.

• 26:08Mary Beth Barone?

To be a video vixen at 34, I think it's really cool.

• 26:11Benito Skinner?

  It's groundbreaking.

• 26:12Mary Beth Barone?

  It's subversive.

• 26:13Benito Skinner?

  It's very subversive.

• 26:13Mary Beth Barone?

And it's just an honor to be thought of.

• 26:15Benito Skinner?

If we're shooting shots, I want to be killed by Sabrina, maybe, in a video. I would love to be, what else?

• 26:22Mary Beth Barone?

Well, you really wanted to be Sally, right?

• 26:25Benito Skinner?

  Roll?

• 26:27Mary Beth Barone?

  Roll?

• 26:27Benito Skinner?

The role model. I want to come out as Sally dressed as Benson Boone. Don't you think?

• 26:33Mary Beth Barone?

  I, I, I.

• 26:34Benito Skinner?

With two guns. Sorry, you guys, it's gonna be a little dark for a while. Two guns, I'm just firing them in the air.

• 26:41Mary Beth Barone?

You in a blue sequined jumpsuit.

• 26:44Benito Skinner?

  Tucked.

• 26:45Mary Beth Barone?

  You have to be tucked.

• 26:46Benito Skinner?

  Well, of course.

• 26:47Mary Beth Barone?

  Well, of course.

• 26:48Benito Skinner?

  Goes without saying.

• 26:49Mary Beth Barone?

  You do a backflip.

• 26:50Benito Skinner?

Did I ever tell you when I tugged for Halloween one time and I didn't know that you put a sock over your dick before? So then it was just tape on my pubes and I just essentially had to wax at the end of the night.

• 27:01Mary Beth Barone?

  On my pubes. What?

• 27:03Benito Skinner?

Is that Lord? Is that Virgin?

• 27:06Mary Beth Barone?

  Yeah. Love you.

• 27:08Benito Skinner?

I love you too. Will anyone love us?

• 27:10Mary Beth Barone?

  I'm not sure.

• 27:12Mary Beth Barone?

But now that you're single, what you're gonna do is you're gonna do a bunch of stuff that you've wanted to do. Like, for me, it's getting bangs, it's getting my nipple re-pierced, I just got my nails done. It's like, you're gonna just try a bunch of stuff, and some of it is gonna be really fucking painful.

• 27:24Benito Skinner?

  Try everything, try everything.

• 27:28Mary Beth Barone?

Some of it's gonna be painful.

• 27:30Benito Skinner?

You have to compliment everything I do today.

• 27:34Mary Beth Barone?

  It was really good.

• 27:38Benito Skinner?

Try everything. Remember when Shakira, I forgot, this one, Out of Pocket, Shakira was like, "Fuck the Barbie movie, that's just raising pussies." Like, that was kind of their vibe.

• 27:47Mary Beth Barone?

Oh, cause she was like, "Men should be men."

• 27:48Benito Skinner?

  Yeah.

• 27:49Mary Beth Barone?

Yeah, that's out of pocket, for sure.

• 27:51Benito Skinner?

Yeah. What do I wanna try?

• 27:54Mary Beth Barone?

You don't have to know right now.

• 27:56Benito Skinner?

I found out a lot of things I don't want last night.

• 27:59Mary Beth Barone?

Last night was a huge learning. It's a lot of lessons and a lot of, like, character building.

• 28:04Benito Skinner?

I really, I don't think we've ever looked cuter, though. It just felt crazy to me.

• 28:08Mary Beth Barone?

Can I just say, can I just say to all the people listening to this, I'm done with character building experiences for the year. If you were brought into my life to help, I don't wanna learn any lessons, I'm good. I'm so good, I'm so fine. I'm so resilient, and I'm really in my power, and like, I've learned so much this year.

• 28:23Benito Skinner?

  We have bangs.

• 28:24Mary Beth Barone?

I need a break. I really just need a break. So the way that Tonal has positioned this ad for us is talking about the chaos of new mom life. And in many ways, I do have a gay son, and he's 31 years old. He was born two years after me, but he's my gay son. Sometimes he's my husband, sometimes he's my boyfriend, and sometimes he's my son. I'm your mom, and I'm sexual, and I love you. Between juggling the chaos of new mom life, pretending to have it together, and remembering to drink water, the idea of finding time for a workout is hilarious. Almost as hilarious as riding the pod, but nothing ever could be. All my mommy friends do Pilates. I know reformer Pilates is a great workout, but the machine freaks me out. It looks like

a medieval torture device. Tonal revolutionized home strength training, and now they've reimagined Pilates. No more hulking reformer, no more complicated springs and levers, just personal resistance that automatically adjusts to the optimal resistance as you gain strength. Expert guidance from Coach Kristin McGee helps refine your form so you can get the most out of every move. Pilates is the perfect complement to strength training. Think $50 Mongolian cashmere, premium denim that fits like a dream, and luxe outerwear you'll wear year after year. These are the pieces that'll turn into your fall uniform. I'm so obsessed with outfit repeating right now.

• 30:35Mary Beth Barone?

And you know what I would love to outfit repeat with? A Quince wool coat. They look designer level but cost a fraction of the price. And the quality, honestly, it's just as good, if not better. Ooh, time for a sip of water. I have my bedtime liquid death next to me. Because Quince partners directly with top-tier ethical factories and cuts out the middlemen, they deliver luxury quality pieces at half the price of similar brands. • 31:43Benito Skinner?

Speaking of nonverbal. So this is something that I didn't know existed until, I would say recently, going nonverbal. So I, as a kid, I was like the one where if my mom was like going to the store or something, I'd be like, I'm in the car and I'm just like chatty, you know, I'm chatty Cathy as they call me, you know, all the time. So I love yapping. I love it. I love it when I love it.

• 32:07Mary Beth Barone?

I love it. I love it. I love it. I love it. I love it.

• 32:10Benito Skinner?

I love it. Oh, my God.

• 32:13Mary Beth Barone?

Oh, my God. Pop stars sing.

• 32:15Benito Skinner?

  Whoa.

• 32:16Mary Beth Barone?

  Oh, my God, in songs.

• 32:17Benito Skinner?

Rule, you can clip that, okay?

• 32:19Mary Beth Barone?

I wonder if he's in Audio Jungle yet.

• 32:21Speaker 04

  Audio Jungle.

• 32:23Mary Beth Barone?

  I mean.

• 32:23Speaker 04

Brought to you by Audio Jungle.

• 32:26Benito Skinner?

  Oh, he did.

• 32:26Mary Beth Barone?

  Oh, he just takes.

• 32:27Speaker 04

Just asked me to say Audio Jungle at the end. Audio Jungle.

• 32:30Mary Beth Barone?

  Yeah.

• 32:30Benito Skinner?

I will say, he loves, I mean, he stays on the voice note.

• 32:33Mary Beth Barone?

  I mean, he's a star.

• 32:34Benito Skinner?

  Yeah, he's a star. That's awesome.

• 32:36Mary Beth Barone?

  He's a star.

• 32:37Benito Skinner?

  I.

• 32:38Mary Beth Barone?

You're in the car, you're chatty.

• 32:40Benito Skinner?

In the car, chatty, telling stories of old, stories of new. I love giving compliments. Love me. Choose me.

• 32:48Mary Beth Barone?

  Pick me.

• 32:48Benito Skinner?

Pick me. I think if there's not talking, I'm like, this person's sad. I have to help. Or like, I need to fill the space.

• 32:56Mary Beth Barone?

  Fill the space, yeah.

• 32:56Benito Skinner?

And I do, I have felt that. It's very, you know, overcompensating. I made a whole TV show about it. It's on Prime. If you haven't watched yet, I think at a certain point, there's a hatred of me. So for.

• 33:05Mary Beth Barone?

  It's personal.

• 33:06Benito Skinner?

It's personal. You've reached the personal point of the program. So here's the thing. No, I'm serious. I'm freaking dead ass hanging out. Watch the goddamn show. But I, I think through it, almost like during the show, I learned the power and the gift of going nonverbal. And I think everyone deserves to give themselves this gift.

• 33:25Mary Beth Barone?

You can invoke it at any time.

• 33:27Benito Skinner?

And I think it's why I started to love being at airports or on planes, because it is such a quiet time if you're traveling alone. I'd be like, I'm just blasting Lord. Hammer, obviously.

• 33:40Benito Skinner?

I'm blasting, I'm blasting Virgin. I'm ripping through airports. I'm eating Shake Shack, laughing. I love laughing after every bite, sobbing and then getting touched. Thank God. But yeah, I started to, I think, see how much it could fill me. And I love being around people too. I love a concert. I love, well, I guess concert is kind of also nonverbal in a way. But you can, and you can do that. But I really learned it on set because Wally, our darling, our darling doll, or my darling baby girl, she is so good at it. She can just be like, I need a sec and I'm just gonna go over here and like be silent for a bit. I started the shoot and I was going to every single lunch with everyone. And I just, we were doing a lot of scenes, hours were long and I was doing like rewrites and I was just kinda like.

• 34:24Mary Beth Barone?

I mean, you had 10 different jobs.

• 34:26Benito Skinner?

Yeah, I was like, whoa, fighting with you about your costumes. Just kidding, you were lovely, but I, I, I would say about.

• 34:33Mary Beth Barone?

  Here's the thing on that.

• 34:35Benito Skinner?

  I would say.

• 34:35Mary Beth Barone?

  If I may.

• 34:37Benito Skinner?

  You might not.

• 34:38Mary Beth Barone?

  I'm.

• 34:39Benito Skinner?

Wait, I wanna remember this. I wanna be a straight boyfriend because it'd be so easy to like treat a woman well.

• 34:46Mary Beth Barone?

Oh my God, it's the easiest thing in the world.

• 34:48Benito Skinner?

Would I just tell you I love you?

• 34:49Mary Beth Barone?

Let me take care of you.

• 34:50Benito Skinner?

  No, I'm like literally like.

• 34:51Mary Beth Barone?

Will someone let me take care of them?

• 34:53Benito Skinner?

  You wanna be held?

• 34:53Mary Beth Barone?

No, I'm so fucking done. Cut the cameras again, I'm done.

• 34:57Benito Skinner?

It's actually not that complicated. I think everyone's complicating all these things too much. It really is as simple as like, I'm just totally gagged for you.

• 35:04Mary Beth Barone?

Well, you know my new thing. You know my new thing. If a guy, if you're talking to a guy and you go, I just can't tell if you're gagged for me. And just see what they say. Cause if you're not gagged for me, then I really don't wanna have sex with you. Cause what's the point?

• 35:16Benito Skinner?

  Yeah, are you melting?

• 35:18Mary Beth Barone?

Are you waiting for me to text you?

• 35:20Benito Skinner?

  Yeah.

• 35:20Mary Beth Barone?

If not, then like, let's just cut the shit. Let's just walk away.

• 35:23Benito Skinner?

Totally. You want sex with me?

• 35:27Mary Beth Barone?

  Talk to me.

• 35:27Benito Skinner?

Come talk to me. So, actually don't.

• 35:31Mary Beth Barone?

  But actually don't.

• 35:32Benito Skinner?

Don't come fucking near me. I texted you, what did I say? I said.

• 35:36Benito Skinner?

I can't believe God gave me this delicate heart and this huge butt. He laughs.

• 35:44Mary Beth Barone?

  God's a perv.

• 35:45Benito Skinner?

  And it's a he.

• 35:46Mary Beth Barone?

  You know what?

• 35:47Benito Skinner?

Would you say, what she said, no, you said God is a woman because

• 35:51Mary Beth Barone?

  Oh.

• 35:51Benito Skinner?

A man would have given you huge tits.

• 35:52Mary Beth Barone?

Given me huge tits. Well, I think God's a perv. Why do teenagers have big boobs, weirdo? That's so weird.

• 35:59Benito Skinner?

Dear media, this one has, it's like she, she wants to take every clip for herself.

• 36:06Benito Skinner?

  It's so obvious.

• 36:06Mary Beth Barone?

  Continue.

• 36:07Benito Skinner?

What was I saying about nonverbal? Oh, okay. So I would eat with everyone. It was just like it at a certain point, it just was like, holy fuck. And then the end of the day would happen and I was like, I can't even really function. And Wally was like, sweetie, go take a nap at lunch. You don't have to eat with everyone. It's okay. No one's gonna be mad at you. I would love if everyone said that to me five times a day. No one's gonna be mad at you.

• 36:28Mary Beth Barone?

  New era alert.

• 36:29Benito Skinner?

New era alert. I'm, I'm trying to find where I don't need it because I, I've now done the things and I'm like, oh yeah, they aren't mad. Actually, this is me taking care of myself.

• 36:36Mary Beth Barone?

Didn't give it a second thought.

• 36:38Benito Skinner?

No. In fact, they don't even fucking miss me in the lunchroom. I come back at the end.

• 36:42Mary Beth Barone?

  Lunchroom.

• 36:43Benito Skinner?

I'm back, baby. It is silent. Y'all fucking miss me. But wow, I'm really killing for you today.

• 36:51Mary Beth Barone?

I'm just, I'm letting you have the floor, darling.

• 36:53Benito Skinner?

  I don't want it.

• 36:54Mary Beth Barone?

  I keep interrupting you.

• 36:55Benito Skinner?

I don't want it. I'm like, oh, I hate taking all this, like you do announcements on here. I don't do that.

• 36:59Mary Beth Barone?

Someone DM'd me and they go, how do you feel about talking about the state of the world? And Benny's across from me wearing a Prada polo top. And I said, how fucking dare you? I was wearing a Sandy Li dress. You're not even a comment on that.

• 37:13Benito Skinner?

  Was I wearing Prada?

• 37:14Mary Beth Barone?

  So expensive.

• 37:15Benito Skinner?

  Wait, it was vintage.

• 37:16Mary Beth Barone?

And here's what I want to say on the record, and I'm quoting myself here.

• 37:19Benito Skinner?

  Yeah.

• 37:20Mary Beth Barone?

I love clothes and I love stuff. I love people more.

• 37:23Benito Skinner?

  Yeah.

• 37:24Mary Beth Barone?

If you told me I had to give all my designer clothes away and that would like, solve the housing crisis, I would.

• 37:30Benito Skinner?

Yeah, I would. And then I'd be like.

• 37:31Mary Beth Barone?

  Not an option right now.

• 37:32Benito Skinner?

But then I'd bargain a little bit because it's like, you don't mean all of it.

• 37:34Mary Beth Barone?

Well, a couple of things I would mean.

• 37:35Benito Skinner?

  Yeah, come on.

• 37:36Mary Beth Barone?

I can be a socialist with a Dior bag.

• 37:39Benito Skinner?

Here it is again, another clip.

• 37:40Mary Beth Barone?

  No, go on.

• 37:41Benito Skinner?

I'm like, I'm just, I'm like, fuck. But yeah, I, I learned the power of being nonverbal. I felt that it gave me more juice.

• 37:48Mary Beth Barone?

Yeah, you have to refuel sometimes.

• 37:50Benito Skinner?

You have to refuel, give yourself that time. Sometimes I even say after a long day of work, I'll be like, it's a nonverbal night for me. I'm just gonna watch something.

• 37:57Mary Beth Barone?

  Call Mary Beth.

• 37:58Benito Skinner?

  I'm gonna call Mary Beth.

• 37:59Mary Beth Barone?

  Talk for an hour.

• 38:00Benito Skinner?

That counts as nonverbal. Do you understand?

• 38:02Mary Beth Barone?

Yes. I've never understood something more.

• 38:05Benito Skinner?

Finally, we're on the same page today. You're so jealous that I had my big announcement. These are usually your announcements.

• 38:10Mary Beth Barone?

I know, I wish I had some, another tragedy to announce on Ride.

• 38:14Benito Skinner?

  Hey, give it time.

• 38:15Mary Beth Barone?

I'll give it a week or two. Hey, I give it a week.

• 38:18Benito Skinner?

  What's that from?

• 38:19Mary Beth Barone?

  It's a movie or something.

• 38:20Benito Skinner?

  It's a movie.

• 38:21Mary Beth Barone?

  It's pretend.

• 38:22Benito Skinner?

We kind of always say that now, this podcast. Should we cancel it? You guys tell us.

• 38:28Mary Beth Barone?

Do you guys even care anymore?

• 38:30Benito Skinner?

  Do you like this?

• 38:30Mary Beth Barone?

Seriously, do you care? Do we just have to start naming celebrities we have beef with? Is that what the podcast will become? Like, I will, but I don't, I don't want to, but I will.

• 38:39Benito Skinner?

Yeah, maybe we still have to start having guests.

• 38:42Mary Beth Barone?

Oh, oh my god, my idea.

• 38:44Benito Skinner?

  Yeah.

• 38:45Mary Beth Barone?

Which is to have guests, but it's just people I want to hook up with. It's just people I have crushes on.

• 38:48Benito Skinner?

And that, wait, and then the guests, the guests never know.

• 38:51Mary Beth Barone?

Abuse of power, abuse of power.

• 38:52Benito Skinner?

Abuse of power, finally, finally a woman.

• 38:54Mary Beth Barone?

  Come to the studio.

• 38:55Benito Skinner?

But the, the joy is that all the listeners know, but the guys who are booked never know.

• 38:59Mary Beth Barone?

Cause they've never heard the podcast.

• 39:00Benito Skinner?

  Yeah, they've never listened.

• 39:01Mary Beth Barone?

Who should be our first guest?

• 39:02Benito Skinner?

  Hmm.

• 39:03Mary Beth Barone?

Our first guest, we've had guests.

• 39:04Benito Skinner?

First guest. God, I don't know.

• 39:06Mary Beth Barone?

  We'll bleep it.

• 39:06Benito Skinner?

Who do you want on the bench?

• 39:08Mary Beth Barone?

I'll think about it. I'll check my list of crushes. We'll get my top choice on here.

• 39:12Benito Skinner?

  Okay.

• 39:14Mary Beth Barone?

People are begging to be, people are begging to be guests on here. I'm like, is that what I have to do to get you to see me as a sexual being? Have you on my podcast?

• 39:21Benito Skinner?

  Isn't that the opposite?

• 39:22Mary Beth Barone?

That's what you'd think. But yeah, we should start having guests.

• 39:27Benito Skinner?

But all to say, nonverbal, and this could mean getting in the bath, watching your favorite show, listening to Ride Honestly, let us yap at ya. I think there is so much power in it. Allow yourself, and can I just say to the people pleasers of the world? People pleasers united.

• 39:43Mary Beth Barone?

  Not a real thing.

• 39:44Benito Skinner?

  PPU.

• 39:45Mary Beth Barone?

  People pleasers aren't real.

• 39:47Benito Skinner?

I think you have an ugly heart. And I think you're jealous.

• 39:52Mary Beth Barone?

It's just funny, some people that-

• 39:53Benito Skinner?

You wish you were a gay man, but you're not.

• 39:55Mary Beth Barone?

Some people who identify as people pleasers are just so not people pleasers that it undermines the entire premise.

• 40:03Benito Skinner?

I agree, you're not one of us.

• 40:05Mary Beth Barone?

  You're not, so stop pretending.

• 40:06Benito Skinner?

It's like when Kevin Spacey wanted to be gay. Can I finally say that he smiled at me at an airport?

• 40:10Mary Beth Barone?

  Finally, yeah.

• 40:10Benito Skinner?

So imagine going through a breakup and Kevin Spacey smiles at you at an airport. Do you have anything to say? Please say it.

• 40:18Mary Beth Barone?

  He's speechless, he's going nonverbal.

• 40:19Benito Skinner?

I mean, yeah, go nonverbal on this one. I was nonverbal, I just thought-

• 40:23Mary Beth Barone?

He shouldn't be allowed to fly, he should be on a no-fly list. Do you know how many potential

• 40:29Mary Beth Barone?

  victims are on that flight?

• 40:35Benito Skinner?

This is our last episode. I really think it might be.

• 40:39Mary Beth Barone?

  We're not kidding.

• 40:41Benito Skinner?

  Yeah, literally.

• 40:43Benito Skinner?

You wore a mini dress for my breakup.

• 40:50Benito Skinner?

So that's, and that happened, I texted Mary Beth, they go, so that just happened.

• 40:54Mary Beth Barone?

I was, I want to do a grid post, it's just a carousel of texts I've gotten from gay guys. I anonymize it.

• 41:00Benito Skinner?

Except the one for me, you can let her rip.

• 41:02Mary Beth Barone?

I have to read this text I got from a gay guy the other day, it's gonna rock you. This was really, cracked me up. I said, are you seeing anyone? He goes, I am of course in a toxic situationship with a real estate agent who comes from obscene family wealth. He's partnered, open on some level, but it's a secret. Have feelings, ended it, but started it again. Been going on for a year and a half, are you?

• 41:24Benito Skinner?

He had that in his notes app.

• 41:25Mary Beth Barone?

  Yeah.

• 41:25Benito Skinner?

  You know, it's just like.

• 41:26Mary Beth Barone?

He copied and pasted. He put a keyboard shortcut in.

• 41:31Mary Beth Barone?

  It's been a year and a half.

• 41:32Benito Skinner?

Okay, did I ever tell you about the prank I did of keyboard shortcuts in college?

• 41:36Mary Beth Barone?

  Tell me right now.

• 41:37Benito Skinner?

  It was my.

• 41:37Mary Beth Barone?

How have you not told me this?

• 41:38Benito Skinner?

This is, I'm so excited, this is, this was my best prank of all time. I, in this girl's phone. I just made everything like, thanks, or hi, or goodbye, or night. I made all of it like, just fucking insane shit, like such like.

• 41:56Mary Beth Barone?

  This is genius.

• 41:57Benito Skinner?

We would do like, this was a friend, so it's, you know, it's not misogynist. Well, she's long gone. We miss her dearly. But we did like, you know, I'm horny, like I, like, I see dead people every time she's like, bye. I just, it was so, and then also every time she said hello, it'd be, have you seen? There was a gayness to everything I did.

• 42:20Mary Beth Barone?

  Yeah, of course.

• 42:21Benito Skinner?

  Of course, cuz.

• 42:22Mary Beth Barone?

  Queer coded.

• 42:22Benito Skinner?

I am. Remember when I accidentally set you up with a 20 year old bisexual?

• 42:28Mary Beth Barone?

How many times do I have to tell you? We're not talking about-

• 42:31Benito Skinner?

I'll be single soon. Right out of context for this, actually, can I request we don't do it?

• 42:37Mary Beth Barone?

Have to. I need it more than I've ever needed anything. Let's get into ride or die.

• 42:43Benito Skinner?

Oh, wait, you're good on that prank? It was so funny.

• 42:46Mary Beth Barone?

I love the prank. Don't ever do some shit like that to me, but I think it's fabulous.

• 42:51Benito Skinner?

  Thanks, sweetie.

• 42:52Mary Beth Barone?

It's just annoying. It's not gonna cause any harm, so I love that.

• 42:55Benito Skinner?

But it is one of those things where like, it could make you text less. It's like, use your phone less.

• 42:59Mary Beth Barone?

  Yeah, you're addicted.

• 43:00Benito Skinner?

  Be in the present.

• 43:00Mary Beth Barone?

  Hey, you have a problem.

• 43:01Benito Skinner?

  Hey, be in the present.

• 43:02Mary Beth Barone?

It's part of your treatment program.

• 43:03Benito Skinner?

Yeah. You know what you are, Mary Beth?

• 43:05Mary Beth Barone?

  Bisexual?

• 43:06Benito Skinner?

Well, yeah. But you're also my ride or die. Ride or die.

• 43:11Mary Beth Barone?

So I think going nonverbal is so powerful and I do it. I think comfortable silence, as we've talked about in previous episodes. It's like, sometimes you can go nonverbal even around people and that can be really powerful.

• 43:21Benito Skinner?

  Yeah, dissociate at the table.

• 43:22Mary Beth Barone?

Like when we're in the car, we're listening to music, we're just nonverbal. We're just like enjoying, like, existing for a little bit. Not thinking about the state of the world and how scary it is right now.

• 43:30Benito Skinner?

  Yeah.

• 43:31Mary Beth Barone?

Maybe you're just like, you're just thinking about happy thoughts.

• 43:34Benito Skinner?

Thank you, sweetie. I think you've taught me as well. You know, we can just lay and have Pinky lick the inside of my mouth and that's the only sound.

• 43:41Mary Beth Barone?

And being quiet. So much power. And in fact, your silence is defining. It's defining. Speaks volumes.

• 43:49Benito Skinner?

You might be complicit. So for me, getting bangs in your 30s, I think it's the total energy right now. Next time I wanna cut them for you. I think I could cut a good bang.

• 44:01Mary Beth Barone?

  Totally.

• 44:01Benito Skinner?

  I could bang you up.

• 44:02Mary Beth Barone?

  Hide the scissors.

• 44:03Benito Skinner?

You know, I love those ones that Courtney Cox has in Scream 3. They're like up to her temple.

• 44:08Mary Beth Barone?

So I could never do some shit like that, but I think it's cool that people can. And they do.

• 44:12Benito Skinner?

I think you'd kill. I think you'd be really good with the Dakota Johnson.

• 44:15Mary Beth Barone?

I know, I'm thinking about it.

• 44:16Benito Skinner?

Is it annoying though? Like, do your eyes feel like tickled all day?

• 44:19Mary Beth Barone?

  No.

• 44:20Benito Skinner?

  They don't feel tickled?

• 44:21Mary Beth Barone?

No, if anything, it's nice to be touched.

• 44:24Benito Skinner?

Yeah. That's, yeah. That's what I said to the baron who came up and touched my arm. It's just nice to be touched. I'm sobbing. She's like, fucking freak.

• 44:32Mary Beth Barone?

  She goes, okay.

• 44:35Benito Skinner?

So I ride for it. How could I not? I'm so proud of you for doing it. When you sent me the first photo, I gasped. It really like woke me up.

• 44:44Mary Beth Barone?

I had a Burberry event that night.

• 44:45Benito Skinner?

I know you, yeah. Well, of course, I could tell you what you were wearing. Like, I know everything that you do and say and have lived and think. Yeah. So, but yeah, what a great example for the, the baronies. Like, go out there. Also, I think, can I just say, yours don't feel like a huge commitment and change? Maybe it's a tiptoe. Let's see how they look before we commit to the whole look.

• 45:05Mary Beth Barone?

  Totally.

• 45:05Benito Skinner?

Although I think like, fuck it, let it rip. Hair grows.

• 45:08Mary Beth Barone?

  Either or, either or.

• 45:09Benito Skinner?

I say that, but it's also like a bad haircut could send me into psychosis. So I don't know, you know?

• 45:16Mary Beth Barone?

  Maybe you're full of shit.

• 45:18Benito Skinner?

So this is the last episode.

• 45:20Mary Beth Barone?

  The penultimate.

• 45:20Benito Skinner?

I want to thank all of you for, um, just being sweet.

• 45:24Mary Beth Barone?

  Being along for the ride.

• 45:25Benito Skinner?

And I want to thank my friends.

• 45:27Mary Beth Barone?

  Love you.

• 45:27Benito Skinner?

Cause I love my friends. I'm, I'm sorry to, to do this.

• 45:31Mary Beth Barone?

My heart breaks when things end, but I think you're both incredible people.

• 45:36Benito Skinner?

  Thank you, honey.

• 45:36Mary Beth Barone?

And I just look forward to watching what you guys do next, both in and out of sucking and fucking. Work-wise, too.

• 45:46Benito Skinner?

Should we say, um, Grandpa Terry forever?

• 45:49Mary Beth Barone?

  Grandpa Terry forever.

• 45:54Benito Skinner?

  Oh, my exit.

• 45:55Mary Beth Barone?

Benny, babe, eyes on the road. Benny, go!

• 46:08Speaker 05
