Thank you to our partner, Royal Caribbean.

• 0:03Travis Kelce?

Dude, have you seen this? Royal Caribbean just dropped the Legend of the Seas. It's the biggest cruise ship on the planet. Like, nothing's even close to being this big. And it's sailing out of Fort Lauderdale, starting this November.

• 0:18Speaker 00

That's right, this thing is stacked. Seven pools, more places to eat than you can even count. I mean, they have something for everybody.

• 0:27Travis Kelce?

Like, bring the kids, bring mom and dad, shoot, bring the whole crew. Everybody's got a spot, that's what makes it special.

• 0:34Speaker 00

And the entertainment, Latin music, ice skating, full-on Broadway shows. It's pretty amazing, pretty much everything you want in one place. Oh, and did I mention there's a water park?

• 0:44Travis Kelce?

You didn't, and that's, that'd be the kicker for me.

• 0:46Speaker 00

  I love a water park.

• 0:47Travis Kelce?

But the crazy one? Crown's Edge, a ropes course off the side of the ship. Not for the faint of heart, brother.

• 0:56Speaker 00

They've also got Playmaker Sports Bar and Arcade, so that means games on every screen. I love a good arcade, sports place combination.

• 1:05Travis Kelce?

All right, count me in, get the family on the new Legend of the Seas, sailing November 2026 from Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

Usually the conversation around here is about football. Today, the topic is gas for one of the sponsors, specifically Mobile Supreme Plus Premium Gasoline. Let's start with the fact that Mobile Supreme Plus Premium is amazing. It keeps engines three times cleaner, so engines perform better for better gas mileage. Just ask motorsports legend Shirley Chacha Muldowney. She raced top fuel dragsters in the 70s, so she knows a thing or two about gasoline. She also knows a thing or two about the 70s, so if there are any questions about leisure suits, vinyl, or fondue, fire away. One might wonder why they call her Chacha. Like, is it a family name, or a marketing ploy? Or maybe she thought it sounded cool? It's very curious. Getting back to fuel, Shirley and the team highly recommend Mobile Supreme Plus Premium Gas,

• 1:59Speaker 02

because it keeps engines three times cleaner for better performance and gas mileage. By the way, Chacha Muldowney, she drove a pink car. Mobile, legendary. Three times cleaner compared to mobile regular gas and port fuel-injected engines. Actual results may vary, visit mobilefuels.com for details.

To realize the future America needs, we understand what's needed from us to face each threat head on. We've earned our place in the fight for our nation's future. We are Marines. We were made for this.

• 2:29Travis Kelce?

Who would be your tag team partner if you ever were to join the WWE? Without fault, without question, Creed Humphrey. Creed.

• 2:38Speaker 00

He's your tag team in the NFL. Why wouldn't he be the tag team in wrestling?

• 2:42Travis Kelce?

  Yes, sir. Let's go.

• 2:44Speaker 00

What would your tag team name be? Ebony and Ivory.

• 2:54Travis Kelce?

Put it on a T-shirt. Put it on a T-shirt. Put it on a T-shirt. Oh, that is funny.

• 3:04Travis Kelce?

  That's good.

• 3:11Travis Kelce?

  Welcome back to New Heights.

• 3:15Speaker 00

  Hey, how about that?

• 3:17Travis Kelce?

A Wondry show produced by Wave Sports and Entertainment and brought to you by Hellmann's.

• 3:22Speaker 00

  Nice.

• 3:23Travis Kelce?

  Ha ha, Hellmann's.

• 3:25Speaker 00

  You love Hellmann's.

• 3:26Travis Kelce?

Hell, yeah, man. We are your hosts. I'm Travis Kelce. This is my big brother, Jason Kelce out of Cleveland Heights, Ohio. Shout out to the Heights and all the Tigers around the world. Subscribe to YouTube, Wondry Plus, wherever you get your podcasts and follow the show on all social media at New Heights Show with one S for all fun clips throughout the week. Jason, tell the people what we got coming up today, though.

• 3:50Speaker 00

We got another great episode for you guys lined up today, starting off with Travis being called out by Big Mayo. Oh, my gosh. You've been called out, Trav. That's right. It's official. We've also got some no dumb questions to answer. Plus, from the Kansas City Chiefs, Trey Smith is with us.

• 4:07Speaker 00

Let's start with some of the new news.

• 4:09Travis Kelce?

  All right now.

• 4:10Speaker 00

New news is brought to you by mayonnaise. That is Hellman's mayonnaise. That's right, baby. Who doesn't love mayonnaise? Travis doesn't love mayonnaise.

• 4:19Travis Kelce?

  That thick old egg batter.

• 4:21Speaker 00

  And now they're her sponsor.

• 4:23Travis Kelce?

  What?

• 4:24Speaker 00

Travis, you're not going to believe this. Uh, Will Levis has called you on Instagram.

• 4:27Travis Kelce?

No. Why did he call me out? What did I do?

• 4:30Speaker 00

Well, Will is a known, uh, mayo advocate and your mayo hate. He is, uh, gonna challenge you to eat your words.

• 4:38Travis Kelce?

  Why? Why?

• 4:39Speaker 00

  Literally.

• 4:40Travis Kelce?

I, I don't, I don't, challenge not accepted. I don't even know the challenge, but it has, if it has anything to do with mayo, I'm out.

• 4:48Speaker 00

Okay. Well, um, this is why Travis, this is why Will is challenging you to try Hellman's eat your words challenge. They're out here challenging mayo haters to give their flavored mayo a shot.

• 5:00Travis Kelce?

I've never said a single bad thing about mayo.

• 5:04Speaker 00

  Travis, are you kidding me?

• 5:08Speaker 00

This is like nails on a chalkboard to me, dude.

• 5:11Travis Kelce?

I love it. I love mayo.

• 5:14Speaker 00

  Listen.

• 5:14Travis Kelce?

  It's so good.

• 5:15Speaker 00

All right. But you're, you're acting like this is regular mayo. This is totally different. This is spicy mayo, right? There's flavor to it. It's got an amazing smoky kick to it. It's not, it's not, this isn't regular mayonnaise. You like spicy, spicy aioli. Think of it like that. It's just spicy aioli.

• 5:31Travis Kelce?

All right. Maybe I'll, I'll think about it. Only because it's spicy mayo and it takes away from the eggy thickness of this so-called Hellman's mayo.

• 5:43Speaker 00

You hear that? Well, Will, you hear that? Will? That sounds like a small win for the 92 percenters on a future episode. That's right. Travis might possibly, uh, with a non-zero chance, uh, eat mayonnaise. So stay tuned for if he does or does not accept, but he kind of does half-heartedly. You guys know what I'm saying. That does it for new news brought to you by Hellman's.

• 6:09Travis Kelce?

  Yes, it does. It's terrifying.

• 6:14Travis Kelce?

Get to this Trey Smith episode. Time for some ta-da, ta-da, ta-da. No dumb questions brought to you by perplexity AI. Discover faster, reliable search with perplexity AI today.

• 6:27Speaker 00

All righty. First note of question from at hummingbird cake. Nola and one, what was your favorite struggle meal? Struggle meal. Okay. When you were broke and what's the fanciest or most expensive thing you've ever eaten? So I I'm devising from context, what struggle meal means. Is this just like the politically correct way to say broke ass meal or something like that? Like we'd call it struggle meal. I've never heard.

• 6:54Travis Kelce?

I've never heard struggle meal either, but I understand.

• 6:57Speaker 00

  I don't know why I don't like it. I don't like it.

• 6:59Travis Kelce?

  You're struggling.

• 7:01Speaker 00

What is your favorite like cheap ass meal like something like, I don't.

• 7:04Travis Kelce?

Dude, I mean, you already know, we could round up. I got a few good ones. The old Wendy's dollar menu. Fuck yeah. No, you know, one of my fucking favorite things to do was in college after I went through my entire faster check and my

• 7:21Travis Kelce?

my scholarship check would be to call dad to tell him to call Domino's and put in a large pizza for me.

• 7:30Speaker 00

So your struggle was calling your parents.

• 7:33Travis Kelce?

  Yeah, I mean, it's been, I mean, I've had a beautiful.

• 7:36Speaker 00

Works. It works. Well, I guess in college we've, you know, you go to like ramen noodles.

• 7:42Travis Kelce?

I couldn't do ramen noodles, man.

• 7:44Speaker 00

Oh, I love ramen noodles. When I think of food, like things that are, you know, I just, we don't have any money or we're like getting the bare bottom of the pantry. I think of ramen noodles. I think of like beans and weenies. Big beans and weenies fan. That's one of my favorites.

• 8:01Travis Kelce?

  Hated beans and weenies.

• 8:02Speaker 00

Hamburger helper. Does that count? Is that kind of like?

• 8:05Travis Kelce?

  Okay, TV dinners, TV dinners.

• 8:06Speaker 00

Yeah, like what are they? Just like heat them up type deals?

• 8:09Travis Kelce?

But that's the thing. Like if I'm struggling and I'm broke, I'm like, I'm probably gonna go to like McDonald's and just get a few like things off the dollar. Like, I don't know if you can even do that. I haven't, I haven't. Yeah, the value menu. I haven't like.

• 8:22Speaker 00

  I don't think they're a dollar anymore. I think they've upped them.

• 8:24Travis Kelce?

  That's fucked.

• 8:25Speaker 00

  What is your favorite value?

• 8:28Speaker 00

Meal item at any fast food chain.

• 8:31Travis Kelce?

  Dude, Junior Bacon Cheeseburger.

• 8:33Speaker 00

I mean, it's good. I feel like I had so many of them in college.

• 8:37Travis Kelce?

Used to be able to get fucking nuggets for a dollar.

• 8:39Speaker 00

I know. I, I think I used to like them so much in college. I just kinda got turned off the JBCs. They're not, it's not as good to me anymore.

• 8:47Travis Kelce?

You could always go and get guys pizzas, a slice for a dollar.

• 8:50Speaker 00

I mean, dude, if you're really cramped, you go in with a couple buddies for a crab case from White, White Castle. I mean, you're.

• 8:57Travis Kelce?

White Castle, man. Dude, you're fucking stuck.

• 9:00Speaker 00

  That's a lot of sliders.

• 9:03Travis Kelce?

  Fuck, I think it's like 20.

• 9:06Speaker 00

Feel like Taco Bell didn't really have a great value menu. I think the whole menu was just kind of value.

• 9:10Travis Kelce?

Dude, what? You could order the entire menu twice with like fucking $20. What?

• 9:15Speaker 00

I think that's what I'm saying. I think the whole thing, I think the whole thing was just value.

• 9:20Travis Kelce?

You walk into fucking Taco Bell with $5. You can, you can get fucking lunch, breakfast, lunch and dinner.

• 9:26Speaker 00

I mean, before Subway started like price gouging, those $5 footlongs, that's a pretty damn good deal.

• 9:32Travis Kelce?

  It is.

• 9:33Speaker 00

Yeah. As you can see, we've lived a life fully of privileged.

• 9:36Travis Kelce?

I guess, yeah, cereal, cereal is another one of them. You get a box for fucking a dollar and some change. You get a fuck ton of meals out of that box.

• 9:44Speaker 00

You ever ate cereal with water? I've done it.

• 9:48Travis Kelce?

  I mean.

• 9:49Speaker 00

  It's not ideal.

• 9:50Travis Kelce?

I'm not upset with just the crunch and like not getting them soggy.

• 9:54Speaker 00

I like the soggeness, especially specific types of cereal. Like it's just better being a little soggy.

• 9:59Travis Kelce?

You're like a soggy oatmeal guy too. I like mine a little bit more dry.

• 10:03Speaker 00

  You like dry oatmeal?

• 10:05Travis Kelce?

  I like drier than soggy.

• 10:07Speaker 00

I don't like soup oatmeal, but I don't, I like there to be a consistency.

• 10:11Travis Kelce?

Yeah. See, I can't do the soupy stuff. It's hard for me to do soupy stuff.

• 10:15Speaker 00

Do you like soup in jet? What's your favorite soup?

• 10:17Travis Kelce?

  Like chicken noodle?

• 10:18Speaker 00

Soup is the original struggle meal. That's like soup kitchen.

• 10:21Travis Kelce?

  Yeah.

• 10:22Speaker 00

What's this? But I've never been to a soup kitchen. I'm not gonna lie.

• 10:24Travis Kelce?

Chicken noodle only at Campbell's chicken noodle. Hey, what are we, what are we talking about?

• 10:28Speaker 00

Really? Any of the Campbell's soups, they qualify, right?

• 10:31Travis Kelce?

I've only enjoyed chicken noodle. I only like that broth-y like soup. I don't like, I don't like the fucking.

• 10:37Speaker 00

  You don't like clam chowder?

• 10:38Travis Kelce?

  Yeah, the gloppy fucking.

• 10:42Travis Kelce?

Shit, I'm out on that. The only type soup I could do is like, like a bisque.

• 10:49Speaker 00

Yeah. I mean, this is the best we can do. I've heard of guys eating like ketchup sandwiches and like mayonnaise sandwiches and.

• 10:55Travis Kelce?

Sugar sandwich. That was my dog Reggie's go to when he was struggling.

• 10:59Speaker 00

Sugar sandwich. Is that what I think it is?

• 11:01Travis Kelce?

  Yep.

• 11:02Speaker 00

  Yeah, it's exactly it.

• 11:03Travis Kelce?

  Yep.

• 11:04Speaker 00

That doesn't sound exciting one bit.

• 11:06Travis Kelce?

I'm not gonna lie, I kind of fuck with it. I used to fucking.

• 11:11Speaker 00

I mean, it's essentially what I used to do with a bagel and cinnamon sugar. Like just know that.

• 11:16Travis Kelce?

Another one. Bagel is another one. Alright, so let's, let's transition this to most expensive thing you've ever eaten.

• 11:22Speaker 00

There's a hundred dollar cheesesteak at this restaurant Barclay Prime downtown Philadelphia.

• 11:28Travis Kelce?

You pulled the trigger on it?

• 11:29Speaker 00

Well, I mean, we've, we've been doing like a lot of O line dinners there and stuff like that where you're kind of just like splurging as a group.

• 11:34Travis Kelce?

  Oh, yeah.

• 11:35Speaker 00

And I have had that. I don't think it's the fanciest or most expensive thing, but there's something about it being a cheesesteak being that ridiculously priced that is, and it's very good, but I guess I'll vote that. I don't know. What do you got?

• 11:48Travis Kelce?

Nice. I got nothing. I don't know. I, I like, I don't necessarily look at the most expensive thing and yeah, fancy foods are kind of just like.

• 11:59Travis Kelce?

I love getting fucking big obnoxious steaks. So if I see like a porterhouse, it's a 48 ounce. I'm like, give me that medium. You cut it off the bone a little bit too?

• 12:09Speaker 00

Most of the higher priced items are usually like meat that has some like type of alteration like a, hey, you want this dry aged 52 ounce like tomahawk steak that's from Wagyu and it's like $300. And I'm like, no, I want the regular ribeye that tastes fucking delicious without putting all that fungus on it. I don't need the fucking aging process.

• 12:31Travis Kelce?

  Give me the aging.

• 12:33Speaker 00

No, give me the regular steak, not Wagyu and give me, give me the regular. I like a steak that tastes like a steak. I don't like a steak that tastes like it's been marinated in butter and then melts all over the place.

• 12:46Travis Kelce?

  Hasn't been marinated in butter.

• 12:48Speaker 00

Alright, whatever. The fancy stuff nine times out of 10 tastes worse. Just being honest with you. Unless the one caveat to this, fancy pasta. You go to a nice Italian restaurant that's like upscale, those pastas that come out.

• 13:01Travis Kelce?

  Fucking pasta in the back.

• 13:02Speaker 00

My guy Vetri, I don't know how the fuck he puts so much flavor into each one of these little pillows of nyaki. But it is, it is fucking crazy. It's so good. So if I'm going fancy, I feel like fancy Italian is like worth it. But fancy steakhouse, I've never been in on the fancy steakhouse. I'm just gonna be honest.

• 13:22Travis Kelce?

  Dude.

• 13:22Speaker 00

Other than 1587 prime, can't wait for that fancy ass steakhouse.

• 13:26Travis Kelce?

You already know, baby. Opening up soon. We're gonna fucking get that thing up and running. And once it's up and running, it's gonna be a machine serving Kansas City and all the Chiefs kingdom and whoever else wants to come and enjoy a meal that uh me and Pat are giving to the city.

• 13:43Speaker 00

Alrighty. That's it for No Dumb Questions brought to you by perplexity. Now, let's get to our convo with the one, the only Trey Smith.

• 13:52Travis Kelce?

  The enforcer.

• 13:56Speaker 00

Our guest today is six round draft pick from the University of Tennessee. He is a two time first team all SEC selection, 2024 Pro Bowl, two time Super Bowl champion, winner of the 2024 Kelsey Jam wing eating contest. Very, uh, very nice. And the starting right guard for the Kansas City Chiefs. That's right. It's the enforcer. Mr. Trey Smith, baby.

• 14:23Travis Kelce?

Yes, sir. Appreciate you having me on, man.

• 14:25Speaker 00

Trey, how, how you doing? How's the offseason been treating you?

• 14:28Travis Kelce?

It's solid, man. It's been, uh, it's been a good offseason. So we get back down to Tennessee, spend some time with the family, see a lot of friends, traveling a bit and uh, did all my training really Texas match, trying to get right.

• 14:37Speaker 00

  That's awesome. That's awesome.

• 14:38Travis Kelce?

  Let's get it, man.

• 14:39Speaker 00

Where did the nickname enforcer? I know Travis calls you the enforcer. I'm pretty sure I've heard Baldinger call you the enforcer. Is there a, do you know who originated that or is that just?

• 14:48Travis Kelce?

Just turn on the film, Jason.

• 14:50Speaker 00

Just watching this. Oh, I, trust me. I've been preaching this for a while.

• 14:55Travis Kelce?

Yeah, man. I, I gotta give uh credits to Trav. Honestly, he was the first person I saw that really like used it uh in this podcast, bro. But uh, you know, Baldy does an amazing job breaking out film all the time and he would just always talk about my style of play. So I think he just sourced stuff from there.

• 15:09Speaker 00

Yeah, absolutely. I, I've been saying this for years. Travis knows this. I've told you easily. I mean, if not my favorite, one of my favorite offensive linemen to watch in the league. The way you play at, the way you finish. It is just a, a joy to watch. Play the game the right way. So couldn't be more excited to have you on this podcast and talk about that journey and, and everything. So thanks for coming on, brother.

• 15:32Travis Kelce?

I'll have me on that. Hell yeah, baby. You already know. And the thing is, as the enforcer, when you get a guy that is the enforcer on a team, I'm telling you, when he first got here, you could see the mentality of the offense start to start to get a little meaner, start to get a little bit more on the attack. And it's just, it's contagious, man. And Trey, I don't know what it was like at Tennessee, because I wasn't there, but something tells me that you were really the motor of that team as well, man. Because every time I feel like you go into a new building, man, all of a sudden, that culture changes a little bit to get a little bit more serious and a little bit more about the business, man. And that's hats off to your professionalism and just who you are and how you play this game, dog.

• 16:15Travis Kelce?

Appreciate it, dog, man. I just try to hit all the stuff when I feel it's attack mode. You know, it's attack mode, bro. Like, you see any moves, you hit it, you kill it, bro. Yeah. Let's go. So, man, I got that early in high school. But yeah, man, it's a, I really appreciate the words of both of y'all, man. Just understand how much I respect both of y'all. Really appreciate it, bro. Hell, yeah.

• 16:35Speaker 00

I feel like it's not even just an enforcer and how hard you hit people and how aggressive and how you finish. There's also like a swagger and like a boy, like, what does Andy say? What is Andy called? Bravado? Is anybody ever called a bravado? Yeah. There's like, there's that part of it where I remember, I don't know if it was the Chiefs cut these clips up, and hopefully Brandon can find it. There's a cut up of you going at it with Jeffrey Simmons. And it is just one of my all time favorite cutups of any offensive line. Because Simmons, he's a bad man. That dude is angry. He plays angry. And you matched every bit of it. And you could tell it was starting to affect him. Like, it was a joy to watch.

• 17:12Travis Kelce?

It's one of my favorite games, baby.

• 17:14Speaker 00

  Oh, my gosh.

• 17:15Travis Kelce?

That was a physical one, man. Tennessee's always a banger.

• 17:18Speaker 00

You know, you see it after the runs, when you're picking up a Checo or whoever just got like a big carry, you're pointing to the first down.

• 17:25Travis Kelce?

  Yeah.

• 17:25Speaker 00

There's a level of excitement and tenacity that rubs off on those around you. And that's, that's the enforcer. It's not, it's that plus the physical nature of how you play the game. You got it?

• 17:38Travis Kelce?

  Oh, he said that.

• 17:38Speaker 00

The Denver clip. That's a good one, too. That's a good one, too.

• 17:42Travis Kelce?

Here we go. Damn. Come here. Come here.

• 17:49Speaker 00

There is? I gotta say this.

• 17:53Speaker 00

And I think there's another clip, first of all, great job, great job of laying the blitzer, getting flat to put yourself in a good position on the player in open space. If you go downfield right away, you're gonna be way out in front and this guy's gonna cut you. You go flat and then man, leaving your feet, I even, I mean, this is like a, you can't even do this on defense anymore. You leave your feet as a defender, that's a, that's a personal foul. You can still do it as a guard.

• 18:18Speaker 04

  Yeah.

• 18:19Travis Kelce?

  Oh, man. That's electric, man.

• 18:21Speaker 04

  Plays, bro.

• 18:21Travis Kelce?

  Oh, yeah.

• 18:22Speaker 04

Coach Heck did a great job that we prepping us and Creed and I identified and we saw it before it came up. We're just like, hey, it's going up, let's get it.

• 18:30Travis Kelce?

  Let's get it.

• 18:31Speaker 04

He's blessing, I'm like, oh, let's get him over. And I saw it, just the seven sort of plant his feet, I'm just thinking like.

• 18:36Travis Kelce?

  Coming from top down.

• 18:37Speaker 04

Why are you, why are you sitting still?

• 18:39Speaker 00

  Yeah.

• 18:40Speaker 04

Yeah. He's like trying to only, away, you go underneath. Like he stood still like he was gonna take it off. So I was like, all right, thank you. Man, I was fired, bro.

• 18:48Travis Kelce?

Bro, I can only imagine as a defender, it's like, once you get into striking range, you're just like,

• 18:54Travis Kelce?

oh shit, I can't go anywhere.

• 18:56Speaker 00

Where, and, and there's this point as an offensive lineman where you know where the ball's hitting and you know where the defender is and you know the defender has no choice but to come back to where you're at. And you identify that's not just in that clip, I've seen you, I forget what, it might've been a Chargers game from back. There's another clip where you get out on a, it was, it was either a screen or some type of like gadget play. And it's again, you're like leaving your feet and in order to do that, you gotta know, you know what I mean? It's like this dude is throwing everything he can to this guy and blowing him up. Yeah.

• 19:27Travis Kelce?

For, for, for what? 320 for a 350? What are you, what are you weighing it right now?

• 19:32Speaker 04

  320.

• 19:32Travis Kelce?

  320.

• 19:34Speaker 00

  320, my ass.

• 19:35Travis Kelce?

  320?

• 19:38Travis Kelce?

For 300 plus to be leaving their feet like that and putting all force, man, that is athletic son of a gun, man.

• 19:45Speaker 00

  No doubt.

• 19:46Travis Kelce?

I don't know how much athleticism you can, you can teach in your football camp, but you can teach that mentality, that mentality, baby.

• 19:52Speaker 00

  Absolutely.

• 19:54Travis Kelce?

You're hosting your second annual Trey Smith Football Camp later this month. How, how excited are you for it?

• 20:01Speaker 04

My second football camp in my hometown, Jackson, Tennessee. And man, just fired up for it, bro. Like, I think giving back to Jackson, a community that poured so much into me, like, it was about time to do something for them. That was big for the city. So

• 20:13Travis Kelce?

  Nice.

• 20:13Speaker 04

Our first year, we learned a lot with the young kids. You know, it's hard to manage young kids. We have

• 20:20Speaker 04

run around. So we want to make sure ages like second grade and up, they just have a good, fun time. Have the love of the game. Then for our middle school and high school camp, we'll turn it up a notch. We're trying to get them ready for the next season. So really looking forward to it, bro. Get it back home.

• 20:33Speaker 00

It is funny when you go to one of these camps and for us, we are so used to going about the position a certain way in the game, a certain way. And you try like teaching that to like a young kid who's like six years old and they're like, I just want to run over these bags.

• 20:47Travis Kelce?

Put your face through his face.

• 20:51Speaker 00

You're like, no, get in your stance like this and use your hands like this. And you're like, okay, this is all pointless. Yeah, just run over these bags and then

• 20:59Travis Kelce?

The last camp I I did, I thought it was a brilliant idea to try and have a water balloon fight at the end of the camp.

• 21:05Speaker 00

  Sounds great.

• 21:06Travis Kelce?

Until you realize that that's not like, like two teams fighting against each other. We just like had a bunch of coolers filled with water balloons.

• 21:15Speaker 00

  It's just a battle royale.

• 21:16Travis Kelce?

And everyone picked up the water balloon and then looked directly towards me.

• 21:23Travis Kelce?

So I had over like a hundred to two hundred kids chasing me around. Bro, I was saying, eventually I just gave in and just got smoked by everyone.

• 21:32Speaker 00

That's some, that's some good off season conditioning.

• 21:34Travis Kelce?

  Yeah.

• 21:35Speaker 00

You know, instead of running striders, just give a bunch of kids water balloons and try and avoid them.

• 21:39Speaker 04

Yeah. My, my buddy last year, he set me up. He had all the kids come and tap him. So I like two hundred

• 21:46Speaker 04

I was just trying to fall so I don't crush little Timmy's leg.

• 21:49Speaker 00

Yeah, right. Just don't fall on one of these kids. Cause that's three twenty, wink, wink. That's, that's a lot coming down. What is so this isn't just offensive lineman. This is all across like just football in general. You have multiple coaches there helping out with it. What's and it's all ages.

• 22:07Speaker 04

Yeah, it'll be all ages across the board, pretty much from second grade all the way up to senior high school. And we'll have coaches varying from a lot of former volunteer guys, some guys that went to high school with even NFL players as well, coaches that I've just sort of found along my way in my journey too. So I have a large support and a crew and coaching staffs coming out to help us out. So it'll be awesome, man.

• 22:28Speaker 00

Hell, yeah. Hell, yeah. That's right.

• 22:30Travis Kelce?

  Heck, yeah, man.

• 22:30Speaker 00

Did you attend any football camps growing up?

• 22:32Speaker 04

Oh, dude, I went to a ton, a ton of them, man. That was like, that was a big part of me becoming a good player. I feel like, like I would always go, I hate to say it, but like, bro, I would always go to University of Alabama's football camp with the Saban, big Bama fan growing up. So like, dad and I, we would drive down to Tuscaloosa, do the cap every year to mention my, my high school coaches like, hey, you guys realize there's more schools than just Alabama, right? So Ole Miss, Tennessee, Arkansas, across the country, bro. So that was huge for my to vote, man.

• 22:59Travis Kelce?

Heck, yeah, man. Was it always Bama versus Tennessee? Was it all in terms of going to, going to college or, or how the recruiting process? How'd you end up back at Tennessee if, if Bama was always a dream?

• 23:10Speaker 04

Yeah. So I did not like Tennessee.

• 23:12Travis Kelce?

You weren't the number one recruit coming out of high school, right?

• 23:14Speaker 04

  Yeah, yeah.

• 23:15Travis Kelce?

Yeah, I was about to say.

• 23:16Speaker 04

Yeah, five star, all that. So I got my first offer from Ole Miss, I think when I was 14 from U30s. And I just sort of like domino effect, I got offers from across the country. But for me, I always grew up a Bama fan because my kindergarten teacher at the time or so was equipment manager for me. So I went to locker room, game day, like first time I've been to an SEC football game or a college football game.

• 23:37Travis Kelce?

State of the art facilities. You're just like, I was like, whoa, favorite colors red, I love elephants. I'm like, damn, this is a match made in heaven.

• 23:45Speaker 00

  Yeah, yeah.

• 23:47Speaker 04

You know, I'll send you like, bro, Bama was becoming one of the top schools. The Saban's won all these championships and stuff. Then obviously I started getting recruited. I started looking around a little bit and ultimately, bro, it ended up being between like Alabama, Clemson, Ohio State and Tennessee. And then the night of my decision, it was really Ohio State and Tennessee. And then I flipped to Tennessee in the middle of the night. So I was like, you know what? Tennessee makes more sense long-term. It's my home. I want to live there one day. And I think it was the best decision I ever made in my life, going to Tennessee.

• 24:15Travis Kelce?

I'll tell you what, man, going back to, going back to Tennessee after, uh, we got smoked when I was in college playing Tennessee. Tyler Bray and, uh, Cornell Patterson got after us a little bit.

• 24:25Speaker 04

  See Flash Pete?

• 24:26Travis Kelce?

But going back when Butch Jones was there and, uh, and just being around, cause Eric Berry had a football camp up there and I was up there trying to help him out and, uh, at least, uh, you know, show my face, but obviously got some family around the Knoxville area. It was so wild to see that town. The entire city is orange.

• 24:47Speaker 04

  Yes, sir.

• 24:48Travis Kelce?

Like every, like everything in sight is orange and it, it kind of gives a little bit of Ohio State, but Ohio State's surrounded by like Columbus and like an actual big city. No, Knoxville is, everything is balls all over the place. And I was just so, I was like, man, I, I just, I appreciated it from a completely different perspective, uh, going back, uh, once I was, uh, already through college and everything. Uh, that had to be a fucking hell of a goddamn, uh, time when you were there.

• 25:15Speaker 04

Bro, unbelievable. I wish we were better at football. We got some, some seasons that weren't so great, but like, bro, I'm talking about the love you feel on campus from like day one is unbelievable. You know, there's, there's, especially as fandom, there's a lifestyle. People in Knoxville, Tennessee, it's a volunteer lifestyle, man. They really bleed orange. I can go back on campus. Like I told my family, like we, we, we go back to, uh, football games usually on the bye week, right? Yeah. I started getting sworn by people and it got so bad that like, they gave me a golf carts ride around on game day, but like the love, I mean, the last time I, I played a staff at Tennessee, you're going on like over half a decade ago.

• 25:52Speaker 04

And people still know my name. I might go in a restaurant, people talk to you. It just shows how great all nation is. And you're a great player. You treat the city right, man. They'll show love continuously, bro. So like I said, man, there's a, there's a sweet fandom and a lifestyle, man. They live that life down there in Tennessee.

• 26:07Travis Kelce?

  Hell yeah, baby.

• 26:08Speaker 00

Hell yeah, hell yeah. What did you carry a sledgehammer around campus for? What was the signature behind that? What was that deal?

• 26:14Speaker 04

Yo, that's crazy. Uh, so it was my freshman year. Yeah, we played Georgia Tech season opener uh, in Atlanta, I guess in Mercedes-Benz. I was like the second football player I ever played there. And I had a block. It was like a trap play. So basically one of our center plays tried and I wowed him to the end. And then you have an extra on top of it. So Coach Jones, I guess he had the sledgehammer like hit to be a tackle, then whatever it is. So like a week, I got it. My first game at Tennessee. I don't know why. I mean, I watched a movie or something, but here I am carrying this sledgehammer like on my back.

• 26:50Speaker 04

As a freshman, bro, like first meeting class, I just got a hammer in the classroom. So it was crazy.

• 26:55Speaker 00

That was one of the cooler things Butch Jones did with the, the, the sledgehammer paying homage to the blockers. That's amazing. That's a great way to represent it. Look at that.

• 27:06Travis Kelce?

  There it is.

• 27:08Speaker 00

  Check him out. That's great.

• 27:10Travis Kelce?

That's iconic. Going to, going to class. You see all that, you college athletes? Going to class.

• 27:17Speaker 00

But he's there for work. He's got his lunch pail and his sledgehammer with him. He's ready to go. All right. Going into your fifth season with the Chiefs. All right. We got 2025 Chiefs coming up.

• 27:29Travis Kelce?

  Yes, sir.

• 27:30Speaker 04

  Come on.

• 27:31Speaker 00

Anything different going into this season for you guys up front or for a team, as a team?

• 27:35Speaker 04

I would say I'm fine. You know, just have a couple of new pieces coming in and you know, some guys are definitely excited about, excited to work with. And you know, I think our mission and try to agree with this, man, like it's gonna stay the same, man. We want another Lombardi, want another trophy, man. Uh, we know we came a little bit short last year, but man, we're just motivated. You know what I'm saying? That feeling we have, at least I know it's been driving me, but I want to get back there. I want to win it again.

• 27:56Travis Kelce?

  Man.

• 27:56Speaker 04

Yeah. We'll be absolutely fine, but a couple of new faces to bring into the fold for offensive line. But uh, Coach Heck and Coach Potato, they do a great job making sure we're well coached up and prepared. So like I said, I'm just looking forward to it, man. Hey, set the ball down, let's play.

• 28:09Travis Kelce?

  Let's go.

• 28:09Speaker 04

  Let's play, man.

• 28:10Travis Kelce?

Let's go. You're firing me up right now, man.

• 28:12Speaker 00

  Come on, it's rough.

• 28:13Travis Kelce?

Let's get it. I, I do gotta say this though. You mentioned a few new faces, man. Our guy, our guy, Big Tooney, man. Joe, Joe isn't, uh, he's not in the building anymore, but you gotta show some love, man.

• 28:23Speaker 04

  Got to.

• 28:24Travis Kelce?

He was there when you came in.

• 28:26Speaker 04

  Yeah.

• 28:26Travis Kelce?

Right? Like he was in KC when you came in. I can't, I couldn't remember when exactly Joe came in and everything, but.

• 28:32Speaker 04

Yeah, it was first year. Cause it was when Orlando came in too. Same time. So it was like all four of us. Yeah.

• 28:36Travis Kelce?

That's that's crazy. As a as as a young like offensive lineman in the league and your mentality and a guy like that who has been proven, won Super Bowls and and, you know, been been a pro bowler. Tooney, what was he in terms of your development and how he helped you out early on in your career?

• 28:56Speaker 04

Yeah, I always start this while I talk about Joe from around now, but I think Joe's gonna be a future Hall of Famer.

• 29:01Travis Kelce?

  Oh, yeah.

• 29:02Speaker 04

It just for me, man, as a young cat stepping into the league, you know, wide eyed freaked out like in terms of reassurance in your abilities, you know, helping you out, picking Joe's brain for different things like Joe and I play the game way differently. Like, he's certainly cool. Like, he's not the biggest guy, but he knows how to manipulate people's body. Like, he's he's nice with, bro. Like, on a different level, I didn't even know it was possible. But like, Joe Toons. And for me, man, just having to lean on him, especially when I was younger. Hey, Joe, what would you do in this situation? How would you attack this? Like, how would you sort of set this block up? And having that resource there was invaluable. And, you know, just having a genuine friend too, you know, a guy you can depend on, a brother like,

• 29:44Speaker 04

man, that's it's priceless, bro. So for me, I have a ton of gratitude, uh, being able to work with Joe, having Joe, you know, some guys like me and Creed, you know, being able to work closely as an interior unit as well. Like, I mean, I was special, bro. Like, heartbreaking, like, you know, but uh, he's got he's got a ball in Chicago. He knows I love him, wishing nothing but success. But, man, having him around at the mentoring spot to just help me, help teach me the game and teach me the nuances, man, that was incredible.

• 30:12Travis Kelce?

  Oh, yeah.

• 30:13Speaker 00

Look, that interior three was my favorite to watch over the last four years, man. You between you, Creed and Joe, and all three of you being different players and like having similarities, but then also and Andy's a great coach and he finds ways to utilize everything and maximize it. Um, I love watching the way you guys work inside. It was heroic what Joe tried to do this year by sliding out to tackle. And, I mean, I don't know many guards that can even give that a go in the NFL. Like, that is a completely different position. So hats off to him. Very. Selfish move to to do that for the team, but with him gone, you're sliding in last year's rookie. Su Su Matias, is that how, am I saying that right?

• 30:54Speaker 04

  Yeah, Kingsley.

• 30:55Speaker 00

  Yeah, Kingsley.

• 30:56Speaker 04

  Kingsley.

• 30:56Speaker 00

Kingsley sliding in to guard and then who do we got to tackle now?

• 31:00Speaker 04

  Mike Caliendo.

• 31:01Speaker 00

Is he, Caliendo still there? Perfect.

• 31:02Speaker 04

  Yep.

• 31:03Speaker 00

Uh, so there'll be some open competition, some, some back and forth a little bit for figuring out who's going in there with you guys.

• 31:09Speaker 04

Yeah, there definitely will be. And I mean, hell, man, you know, we all been part of the league. Like it's competition for this all. So we all gotta go.

• 31:15Travis Kelce?

  Always.

• 31:16Speaker 00

  No doubt.

• 31:16Speaker 04

  You know.

• 31:17Speaker 00

  You're right. Hundred percent.

• 31:18Speaker 04

I know both of them will, will work their tails off. You know, the best man's gonna win. Like I have to earn my job against them as well. But you know, I'm excited about both of them. I love Mike, man. Mike's a great dude. Mike's extremely intelligent as well and a great ball player. And then Kingsley, just a young cat, you know, he's still got those young legs, a healthy body.

• 31:34Speaker 00

  Sure.

• 31:35Speaker 04

Man. You know, his ability is incredible and some of the things that he can do on the field as well. So like I said, the moving pieces are off the line. Great. Uh, we're gonna be in a good position though, man.

• 31:44Travis Kelce?

  Oh, yeah.

• 31:45Speaker 00

The one I'm looking forward to, I just gotta be honest, that left tackle position was something that was a somewhat of a revolving door all season long for you last year. Have you seen this, this kid yet, Josh? Uh, like I, I, Josh, to me, watching the tape in college, it was absurd.

• 32:00Travis Kelce?

  Yeah.

• 32:01Speaker 00

The athletic ability and size. Trav knows, cause I've been watching this.

• 32:04Travis Kelce?

  I'm, I, yeah.

• 32:05Speaker 00

  And I've been preaching.

• 32:06Travis Kelce?

My eyes on him, you already know. I, I've seen it. I've seen it. He was, he was playing defensive end as a, as just like a scout team defensive end. And he was just playing his gap, just being, but he was being a pro. He was being locked in and being a pro and I felt that man's hands grab me.

• 32:27Travis Kelce?

And I was like, all right, all right. We're just, I gotta come with it, even when, even when he's just giving the looks. I gotta make sure I'm, got my feet planted, man.

• 32:39Speaker 00

I've watched a lot of these linemen coming out the last few years. This kid, I mean, he is the closest thing I've seen to like a Trent Williams or like a Jason, like that next level like strength and athleticism.

• 32:51Speaker 04

  Yeah.

• 32:51Speaker 00

The only reason he fell to you guys is because of that quad, is it quad tendon or patella tendon?

• 32:56Speaker 04

  Patella injury.

• 32:57Speaker 00

Yeah. Have you, what's he look like so far? Yeah.

• 32:59Speaker 04

Man, I haven't seen him in action, but I mean, I just heard that he is so strong, like unbelievably strong is one thing. So like Travis, you saying about his hands, like that's perfect spot I'm watching here, but obviously like the talent is there, man. I've seen some of his film as well. And you know, obviously got a chance to win a Natty last year. Shout out to him. But yeah, I think he's going to be a great asset to the team. And I'm looking forward to it, bro.

• 33:21Travis Kelce?

Oh yeah, baby. Get him in there. Get him nice and ingrained in the culture we got over there, man. Have some fun while we, while we go and whip some ass.

• 33:29Speaker 04

Yeah. You know, we'll get him, right?

• 33:31Speaker 00

Would you rather play in Tampa Bay Miami Heat early season?

• 33:36Speaker 04

  Never.

• 33:36Speaker 00

Or like Green Bay in the middle of the playoffs? Like, would you rather play in cold weather or hot weather? I guess.

• 33:43Speaker 04

I'll play in frigid temperatures, negative degree weather. I love it.

• 33:46Speaker 00

  All day, all day.

• 33:47Speaker 04

  I love it.

• 33:50Travis Kelce?

  Once he gets below 50.

• 33:53Speaker 00

What was that one game in KC where?

• 33:55Speaker 04

  Against Miami?

• 33:57Speaker 00

Was that the one where you, I was like watching the field and it was like frozen.

• 34:01Travis Kelce?

Coach, Coach Ray had icicles coming from his mustache.

• 34:05Speaker 04

Yeah. Yeah. It was like fourth coldest game in NFL history, man.

• 34:08Speaker 00

Yes. How did you feel? You'd rather play in that than Miami 95?

• 34:14Speaker 04

Yeah, all day long, man. All day long. Cause, cause one, in the heat and humidity, like you're going to tire out a little bit easier, man. Everything is a little bit tougher. It's a different mental space, right? Where in the cold as a big guy, like I said, I'm always sweating, bro.

• 34:28Speaker 00

  Yeah, right?

• 34:29Travis Kelce?

  Always.

• 34:30Speaker 00

  It's already there.

• 34:31Speaker 04

Like, I'll be nice and cool. I can recover faster. You know, the winter coat. J C, you know, you get a little bit heavier at the end of the year. So.

• 34:37Speaker 00

  Oh, yeah, baby.

• 34:39Speaker 04

  I'm good, man. I'm solid.

• 34:41Speaker 00

How did those trap blocks feel, though, when it's negative four?

• 34:43Speaker 04

  Oh, you felt it.

• 34:47Speaker 04

Oh, you felt it. It woke you up now. But like, the thing about it is great is like, the D was alive and don't necessarily want to rush past you as well, too.

• 34:54Speaker 00

  For sure.

• 34:54Speaker 04

Because you're talking about a team that came from Miami. They just left eighty degree weather. Now it's negative eleven degrees. You're like, what the hell's going on? Where they drop us off at, you know? So it makes our job easier.

• 35:04Travis Kelce?

It is a little different, you know, being in fifteen to twenty degree weather for a couple of weeks, for a couple, for like a month, staying in between that, that twenty to forty degree weather in Kansas City when it's in the winter. And then it dropping down.

• 35:20Speaker 04

  Yeah.

• 35:20Travis Kelce?

I feel like the initial, the first day in it is always the coldest, like, you know what I mean? Like, if you're kind of acclimated to some of the cold, like that first day it drops below fifty in Kansas City, I'm like, oh, even I'm like, god damn, it's kind of cold outside. You know what I mean? But then, once I get used to it, I'm outside in shorts and a T-shirt.

• 35:41Speaker 04

  It's nuts at that point.

• 35:42Travis Kelce?

Coming from, coming from Miami and it being seventy-five to playing in negative five degrees.

• 35:48Speaker 04

  Is hell.

• 35:49Travis Kelce?

I was probably like, what the fuck?

• 35:53Travis Kelce?

  Is this?

• 35:54Speaker 04

Yeah, that's tough, bro. That's tough.

• 35:56Travis Kelce?

What is that? Was that the coldest game you ever played in?

• 35:58Speaker 04

By far. Because like, the coldest weather I would ever play out of Tennessee would be like Kentucky or Missouri. So that was the coldest it got. And it'd probably be around like December, maybe late November.

• 36:08Travis Kelce?

Thank you to our sponsor, Colgate Total.

• 36:11Speaker 00

On offense, it's important to prevent problems from the moment the ball is snapped.

• 38:31Travis Kelce?

Let's get into some draft stories, man. Drafted by the Chiefs, six overall, I mean, six round pick.

• 38:37Speaker 00

Six round. Definitely, definitely not six overall.

• 38:40Travis Kelce?

But definitely worthy of six overall. Can you talk to everybody on the reason why you kind of slid in the draft and what draft day was like for you?

• 38:49Speaker 04

Yeah, man. Uh, so those of y'all don't know, right after my freshman year entering my sophomore season, in that offseason, we had a coaching change. Entire coaching staff gets fired and walks in Jeremy Pruitt from University of Alabama. In that whole offseason, they're just trying to break this. As you guys know, you get a new coaching staff, they're trying to weed out the bad guys, figure out what the team's gonna be built around. So that identified me. Break the culture, man. Yeah, yeah. We were gonna set the culture up around. They looked at me, I had a lot of success in my first year as a freshman. They're like, all right, we can build around this young player. So they just started pushing us every single day during mad drills. And I was eating it, bro. It was nothing to me. I'm laughing at them, talking shit. I was like, is all y'all got? Yeah, like one week, man, in condition where do I have the gases? And I passed out. And I never passed out. I couldn't

• 39:34Speaker 04

breathe well. I lost 13 pounds in a day. I remember talking to our team doctor, like, hey, you guys gotta run more tests on me. Like, I feel terrible. And he's like, we're gonna do a blood draw. Just go ahead and go to class. I remember leaving my dorm room, having to walk like 400 yards to the library to write a paper. And I'm stopped like seven times, just catching my breath. And as soon as I got out, doctors calling me frantic, like, hey, Trey, where are you at? Where are you at? I'm like, I just got finished my paper, doc. Is everything okay? He's like, don't worry about it. We sent someone over the car that can scoop you up. They rushed me to the hospital and uh, figure out that I have blood clots in both sides of my lungs. So that was sort of one of those moments where it's like, man, can I still play football? Like, what does this mean? And pretty much working with the doctors, like, for five months, you're able to go on

• 40:17Speaker 04

blood thinners. And I think it's blood thinners is, you take a shot to the head, or if you get cut, you run the risk of internal bleeding, or just bleeding out in general. So it's generally dangerous for a contact sport, uh, which was tough. What they ended up doing is blood, blood thinners for about five to six months, was able to play in my sophomore year, got about the halfway point of my season, had the same sort of things going, can't breathe well, coughing, mucus, et cetera. And they rushed me to the hospital again, just to be safe. They're like, hey, you have blood clots again. And at that point, my career was completely over in my mind. Like, the doctors had told me, if you have blood clots two times, you'll never play football again. It's not safe. Like, we won't allow it. And You know, through the grace of God, I had some people in my corner, University of Tennessee,

• 41:00Speaker 04

that just flew me across the country and we went to the Cleveland Clinic where met with some doctors. I looked at my scans, looked at all of our tests. It was just like, you don't have blood clots again, man. It looks like you have residual scar tissue in your lungs from the first case. So that was like, right? Yeah. So that's how close it was. Like I didn't, I almost didn't take that trip. So I was pretty much done. I was like, I'll get the coaching player engagement. But when I got that news, it sort of opened everything up to where I ended up going to the blood clotting specialist in North Carolina, where he created a health plan that never done this word football before, where I took blood thinner every single day of the week, except for Friday morning, and I would just wake up and play on Saturdays. So that means no practice, no contact, no training camp. I would literally just be vibing out,

• 41:44Speaker 04

doing cardio, watching film, as much as I can. We'd just go playing on Saturdays. So it was a crazy experience. But you know, my junior year, I was able to play the entire season, decided to stay at Tennessee, because I made a promise to my deceased mom, Marissa Smith, that I would get my degree and I'd play in the NFL one day. So I kept my promise to mom, safe in my senior season and finished it out. And then the draft is here. I'm like, hell yeah.

• 42:11Speaker 04

  Let's get paid.

• 42:12Travis Kelce?

Man, what a roller coaster that had to be, bro.

• 42:16Speaker 00

Yo, that is wild. So was there, is there like a condition that causes your blood to clot in certain ways? Or is this just like a unfortunate, like unlucky one off thing?

• 42:27Speaker 04

Yeah. So you got either provoked or unprovoked blood clots. Mine was unprovoked. They tried looking at all parts of my body to figure out like, where it's originating. A lot of times you have a surgery, you get hit a certain way, et cetera, like, yeah. Nothing happened to me that would cost it. And genetic testing didn't show up anything definitively as well.

• 42:44Speaker 00

  Wow.

• 42:45Travis Kelce?

  Man.

• 42:46Speaker 04

  Yeah, man.

• 42:47Speaker 00

Cause I remember hearing about this when you were coming out, like even in the Eagles building. I remember guys talking about, yeah, he's got this thing with like, I thought it was your heart. I didn't know it was blood clots. I knew there was something going on, but I remember that was something that all the teams were thinking about. How, if you didn't have that, where do you think you would have been drafted?

• 43:02Travis Kelce?

  Oh, six overall.

• 43:09Speaker 04

Nah, I I would think like, I'd like to think first round, but yeah, second round, the third, probably worst case scenario, sorry about that.

• 43:16Speaker 00

That is wild. And now no issues. Like you haven't had anything in the NFL.

• 43:21Speaker 04

Nothing at all, brother, you know?

• 43:22Speaker 00

Gosh, that is amazing. Yeah, that is outstanding.

• 43:26Travis Kelce?

Back to draft day, though, when the did so still you went back, had had your junior year at Tennessee. Where were you on draft day and and and who was it that gave you the call?

• 43:38Speaker 04

Yeah, man. So I was in Jackson and I talked to my agents and they're pretty much saying, you know, we don't think you'll be a first round with the medical history, but you're gonna go second round and like third round is like worst case scenario, but you'll get drafted. So day one, pretty good amount of families there. I'm like, I appreciate y'all. I'm playing the game tonight. Like, I'm not getting drafted. So I'm playing, uh, uh, what's the Rocket League, the car.

• 44:05Speaker 00

I don't want to sidestep it, but this is what I love about Rocket League. It's only like four buttons. I can't do all these games with all these buttons now. Just give me like two buttons to screw around and try and score. Go, all right, go ahead. Sorry.

• 44:15Speaker 04

Yeah, man. No, you're right. So I'm on Rocket League with the homies, man. We're chilling, uh, just doing our thing. And pretty much first round goal was, all right, cool. Day two, I'm sitting in the bedroom like, all right, this is the day I'm about to get drafted. And, you know, I was like, I'll pay attention to it. And this year was COVID year. So they had like a little, if you're considered like a top guy, they sent you a whole camera equipment and like thing for your house. So I had mine set in my living room. I'm sitting on the couch with my family and pick after pick after pick after pick after pick. Second round goes, third round was like, okay, I'm gonna go back to Rocky League. I'm just gonna, I'm gonna play the game. I'm just gonna take my mind off of it. And, you know, that third round came and it went. And I remember just being like, damn, like.

• 44:57Speaker 04

You know what happened, you know, and being a little upset and talking to my dad and he just sort of reassures me and he calls me down a little bit. So day three goes, I wake up a little bit late, you know, no phone call or anything. I get a call from a former head coach that I knew from recruiting and he's pretty much saying, hey, I can't believe you're here, man. I remember you in high school. You were number one, blah, blah. I was like, hey, we're gonna take you in this next draft pick. It's like in the fifth round. So I'm thinking, okay, I'm gonna watch this one. I'm about to get picked. And he picks somebody else and he calls me right back, but the minute after is just like, hey, sorry, I had to do this political blah, blah. Look, what we're gonna do is we're gonna fly you in as an undrafted free agent. Uh, we'll get a sign, we'll get you signed. We'll get all this stuff taken care of you and pops. Like, don't worry about it.

• 45:37Speaker 04

And so I'm not, I'm not really, I'm not pissed. I'm just like, hey, man, like, it didn't go the way I thought. Like, I saved another year for this and, you know, all the stuff I went through, like, I thought I was gonna get drafted, but I got an opportunity. I just wanted an opportunity, man. You just give me a shot, man. Give me, give me a foot in the door, basically. So, it was funny enough, like, five minutes later, I literally was on the game again. So Rocket League is like the theme of the story. I'm back on Rocket League.

• 46:02Speaker 00

We should really be thanking all the coaches because you got to play more Rocket League. Like, you've been drafted in the first round, you're missing out on two days of playing Rocket League.

• 46:11Speaker 04

So basically, man, like, five minutes later, um, I get a call, the ID says Kansas City. I feel like, you know, it's a doctor on the phone. I believe it was Dr. Martin Menak, I believe it was. And, uh, he had, he had interviewed me prior about the medical info. And Doc was on the phone, just like, hey, man, I, I told you I'd call you, like, all happy. I was like, the hell do you want? In my mind, right?

• 46:31Travis Kelce?

  Yeah, like, what's this about?

• 46:33Speaker 04

Yeah, I'm like, another, so I just answered and it's like, you know, what up? He's just like, oh, well, uh, we're gonna make you a newest member of the Kansas City Chiefs. And I was just like, what's this dude talking about? And so then when Mr. Hunt answered the phone, it was like, hey, Trey, this is Clark Hunt. How are you doing? And I'm like, oh, this is real. I was like, oh, let me, let me sign up.

• 46:52Travis Kelce?

You guys post, you with the team doc?

• 46:55Speaker 04

Well, you're sorry, oh, yeah, I can't wait to be down there. And then, you know, Brett Beach, uh, Coach Reed, Andy Hack, you know, talked to all of them. And then it was just like, whoa, whoa, I just got drafted, man. Sister was in the living room. She was all alone left in the house. So I'm running, hugging her in the living room. We're both freaking out together, like crying. And then I called my dad. I'm like, Dad, you won't believe this. Kansas City just drafted me. He's like, son, I love you. I'm so proud of you. And I'll, I'll be home in 10 minutes. I'll bring you chicken tenders for lunch. Yeah.

• 47:24Speaker 00

  That's a hell of a celebration.

• 47:26Speaker 04

Yeah, man. So my draft story wasn't perfect perfection, but I love it, man. Like I have so much gratitude the way it went down, man. To help motivate who I am today.

• 47:34Speaker 00

Yeah. Shout out to Ashley for being in the room still there with, I, I was about to say, a lot of people don't know this. Ashley welcomed me to, to broadcasting in the NFL. I met, I met your sis out there. She was awesome at the broadcast boot camp. Yeah. I mean, just eat some chicken tenders, go back to playing Rocket League, right? You just got drafted in the NFL.

• 47:51Travis Kelce?

I remember because we had, that was, I mean, you look back on it, that was a great draft for us. I mean, obviously we got big Creed, who you learn to, you know, create the beast with in the interior with and everything, but that was a hell of a draft. And I remember everyone kept mentioning, hey, man, we got a steal. We got to steal. They got to get the guy we, I don't know how he dropped the six. I don't know how he dropped, but we got him and, and everyone's saying he's, I mean, the docs are giving him the thumbs up. Everybody's saying, and bro, when you walked in the building and I saw how big of a human being you are. Bro, I was like, what?

• 48:30Speaker 00

  Good job, Doc.

• 48:31Travis Kelce?

No way. Little did I know how, how much you would grow as a, as a player your first year and just be, be the enforcer that you are. But man, I, I, when I heard everybody talking about, we got to steal, we got to steal. And Vich was over here like, I think, I think we got a guy. I think we got. He was just over there getting, being bred, having a blast, talking about, yeah, exactly. Everybody was hyped.

• 48:53Speaker 00

Our plan worked. Our plan worked.

• 48:55Travis Kelce?

A way to get you in the building, man. That shit was fun.

• 48:57Speaker 04

Yeah, no, I was fired up, man.

• 48:59Travis Kelce?

What was your first impression of, of big Andy Reid, man?

• 49:02Speaker 04

Oh dude, it was, so I played the Madden, it was the Madden 06, where like he's in the front.

• 49:10Speaker 04

As a kid, that was the very first Madden game I ever had.

• 49:14Travis Kelce?

  What?

• 49:15Speaker 04

  First football game ever.

• 49:17Travis Kelce?

  That's crazy.

• 49:18Speaker 04

Huge, like end of the game, Super Bowl, situation, whatever it is, and like Coach Reese on the sideline, like stop, like reading his call sheet, like, so that was my first taste of Andy Reid in my life. So getting to the Chiefs and I remember, you know, it was COVID once again, so they're in a sort of different setup. We were in Edor facility and he was on, I guess, Zoom, Microsoft Teams, whatever we use that he's just breaking out of play. And I'm just like, damn, that's Andy Reid, bro.

• 49:41Travis Kelce?

  Really, eh?

• 49:41Speaker 04

And like talking to him, you know, Coach Reid has like a way of making you comfortable, like messing with you, bro. It, it, it was dope, dude. Like I was sitting in disbelief, really like, man, I'm really, I'm here. Cause like part of it is I watched you guys win Super Bowl Miami. Uh, I was with Dustin Colquitt and his buddies in Miami.

• 50:00Travis Kelce?

  Oh, yeah.

• 50:01Speaker 04

  Yeah, yeah, yeah, through, through.

• 50:03Speaker 00

  You were in Miami?

• 50:04Speaker 04

Yeah, through the University of Tennessee, they sent me down there. So I worked at that, was like ushering people around. Colquitt and his buddies like found me, they're like, uh-uh, come with us.

• 50:16Speaker 04

So I watched you get, yeah, so I watched you get, so like for me, it was surreal where it's like, what, 2019? I'm watching y'all win it. And then 2021, here I am, walked through the doors and I remember being at that game saying, man, how cool would it be to go play for them one day?

• 50:31Travis Kelce?

  Oh, yeah.

• 50:31Speaker 04

And that's like the funny thing I'll God, where like here I am, so you're just like, man.

• 50:34Speaker 00

  Absolutely.

• 50:35Travis Kelce?

  That is awesome, man.

• 50:36Speaker 00

What were your first impressions of Trav like?

• 50:39Travis Kelce?

  Yeah, shit.

• 50:40Speaker 00

Everybody remembers the first time they meet Trav. That's a, that's a, that's a hard one to forget usually.

• 50:46Speaker 04

  Just crazy energy, bro.

• 50:50Speaker 04

I was like, oh, he's on, I love this guy.

• 50:54Speaker 04

No, I don't know, I'm a little like just saying stuff, but like, bro, I was like, the one thing that I love, it was like early, it might've been against the Browns, bro. Like my, my first game, you scored a touchdown. I like tackled you and like slapping your helmet in the end zone. Cause you're just psycho, bro.

• 51:09Speaker 00

  Oh, I remember that.

• 51:10Travis Kelce?

  It go fucking nuts.

• 51:12Speaker 04

You know what I mean? Like, I love it. So anytime Trav's getting the guys going, I'm just saying, mm. Yeah, I'm feeling it, bro. Let's get this day rolling. So.

• 51:22Travis Kelce?

  Yeah.

• 51:23Speaker 04

For me, my dog trap, I mean, I think the one thing that I can speak about, especially as like a six yard trap, big young guy, was just how kind you were, bro. And you don't have to be that way. How you really care for people, you're not afraid to give out your heart, right? So I think that's the part that stood out to me where it's like, man, you look at your career trajectory, you're on, you are as a human being, but like, you still make the time for people, you still care for people. To me, that, that's what he's following to the person. And that, to me, that was really the big thing. Say like, man, you never, you don't mistreat me or just sort of wrote me off or anything. It was always just like, I'm a year as best.

• 51:57Travis Kelce?

I appreciate it, dog. It means the most coming from me, brother. So yeah, the best yet to come, no baby, let's go.

• 52:06Speaker 00

All right, let's, let's talk Patty Mahomes, let's go into that.

• 52:08Travis Kelce?

Yeah, bro. Yeah, let's talk some Patty Mahomes, man. What is, what is it like blocking for old Patrick Lavon Mahomes the second?

• 52:17Speaker 04

Man, it was a tough transition out of college, boy. Like, I wasn't used to somewhat extending the plays like that, making somehow nothing like, for me, I struggled so much with just sustaining the block, man. For check, you said, get on me every day about not letting the egg timer in your head go off. Like, he's, he's one of the best they sent a player is ever do it. Like, you're have to just try to drive. So for me, man, it was difficult at the beginning. But then like, I think the best part about it is just watching this greatness. And it's not like the big moments per se, it's like little stuff he does in practice, like how the hell he throw that ball? How do you throw? The preseason, what, what play was it where he did it around the back?

• 52:59Speaker 00

  Yeah.

• 52:59Travis Kelce?

  Oh, yeah.

• 53:01Speaker 04

Like, that's the greatness where it's like, who the hell is gonna be able to do this other than him?

• 53:05Travis Kelce?

He made me look so good on that play, knowing damn well that I was the one that fucked up the play to where he had to do something spectacular to make it look good. And yeah, no, you already know.

• 53:18Speaker 04

  Yeah.

• 53:18Travis Kelce?

That's one of a kind in that regard, man. It's a, do you just, do you just in your mind, you have this like, I don't know. I, I feel like I have like a ti- like a, like a timing mechanism of like the first play. Like, all right, the ball should be out by now. It's almost like, all right, there's, there could be two forms of this play. So it's like the initial play and then, all right, I gotta, as soon as those like three to four seconds are up, now I need to refocus, re-gear, do something else. Do like, do you have the like secondary like play, like the, the possibilities ever had? Is it always in your mind during like pass plays?

• 53:57Speaker 04

Yeah, I definitely think so. It depends, a lot of times I play action games, especially with some like the gap schemes, like pass or anything like that. Like for me, it's just like, I know I'm out of a double team. I'm looking to help.

• 54:09Travis Kelce?

  Right.

• 54:09Speaker 04

A lot of times with Pat, man, he's just gonna keep extending and extending and extending. And a lot of times if you really just hold on, bro, he's gonna miss something huge happen. So for me, I, I agree with what you're saying where it's like on paper, it might be like, it should be doom, boom. But then sometimes it might be do, do, do, do, do touchdown. You know what I mean?

• 54:26Travis Kelce?

  Yeah.

• 54:26Speaker 04

That's the greatness. That ball's magic. So like you just gotta adjust with it, bro. You just gotta adjust.

• 54:32Speaker 00

And Pat's even more like, there's all sorts of quarterbacks that are mobile that'll extend plays. Pat does it up the middle more than any quarterback I've ever seen. Like most quarterbacks will either go if they're right-handed to the right. If they're left-handed, they'll have a tendency to go to the left. Pat will see like a split front, like a two, three technique front. And if it's third and medium, he almost is like predetermined in his head that he's gonna take off and go get the first down right up the gun. I've seen him do it multiple times.

• 54:58Speaker 04

  Yeah.

• 54:58Speaker 00

Are you at the point now where you kind of anticipate stuff like that? Or is it still like, who knows what's about to happen?

• 55:05Speaker 04

I think I'm still at that point sometimes where it's hard to feel it. Uh, I think like during the season, especially when he gets to this tendency box a little bit, like, I'm okay. I know last week he did it this way. I got a whole little bit stronger to the inside. Cause like, I know he's gonna be right here if so and so happens, you know, if he gets flushed a certain way. Uh, based on their, their rush games too, sometimes we know like they're trying to flush in a certain direction. So I gotta be a little bit firmer.

• 55:28Speaker 00

  For sure.

• 55:29Speaker 04

I, I would say it's just adapting to him. But I think the main thing is always knowing that like, Pat's just gonna do something crazy back there. You know what I mean? Like you just gotta figure it out on the fly, bro. But I will say last year, I really tried to adjust a little bit more, uh, get a little bit stronger that inside. That's cool.

• 55:44Speaker 00

And I feel like sometimes it's even just like a feel like you don't know why you let go at a specific time.

• 55:49Speaker 04

  Yeah.

• 55:49Speaker 00

As an offensive lineman, my biggest concern is getting a holding call. You're blocking a dude, you got a great block on him and all of a sudden the quarterback scoots out, he reaches to grab him and you're, you think you're doing your job great and all of a sudden there's a yellow flag by your feet.

• 56:01Speaker 04

  Yeah, or whatever.

• 56:03Speaker 00

But then you play with guys like that for a while and then you like almost like feel the D lineman doing that and you like learn to kind of just like let go. Not that it works every time like that, but it's, there's a feel for it for sure. I don't know.

• 56:16Speaker 04

Yeah, it's an art, bro. It is tough. Like you said, there, there is like a little feel to that. I love the watch to where you just, you know, it's not.

• 56:21Travis Kelce?

Has Pat ever made a play to where you got so excited, you wanted to like fucking just like trap block and just like, just got you so excited or like you wanted to fuck? Like you remember the replacements, how the, how like the linebacker would always do just like too much? He would always like want to headbutt the fuck out of somebody. Has Pat ever made you like go into that excitement and just like?

• 56:48Speaker 04

I got a couple of plays in my, one of them, bro, was, uh, we played Tampa Bay and Tampa, when he spun off about, I think Devon White for that, bro.

• 56:57Travis Kelce?

  And threw it to Clyde.

• 56:58Speaker 04

Yeah, I'm like, this guy's an animal. It's an animal.

• 57:03Travis Kelce?

Like tiptoeing on the sideline and they just threw it to Clyde in the back of his head.

• 57:10Speaker 04

I'm sorry, bro. That was one. Uh, yeah, like the flip pass. I've been like year two or something against, uh, Denver. I would say it was the jet or something. Jet might have taken it for, to the house, but it was like just a little flick. Like I remember Wiley, Wiley used to get JT and Wiley, cause JT gets fired up too.

• 57:28Speaker 04

Jawa is like the most chilling cat I've ever met in my life.

• 57:31Travis Kelce?

Once we get rolling, oh yeah, he's a next one.

• 57:36Speaker 04

Wiley, he, there were a couple of times when like we score or anything like that, I'm like, Pat, this one, Wiley would just attack me and just beat the hell out of me. I'm like, let's go Wiley. But yeah, there've been a couple of times where I'm like, Pat, you're that dude. Like you're that, but it's hard to even grab it. Cause then he takes off your soul. Bring him to the side. Slow now.

• 57:56Speaker 00

Oh, it's great. They say everything happens for a reason.

• 58:01Speaker 06

But I suspect. Everything happens for a Reese's. Like this commercial break. Did you need 15 seconds away from music? Or 15 seconds to eat a Reese's? Perhaps it's true. Everything happens for a Reese's.

• 58:45Travis Kelce?

You want to talk some wrestling?

• 58:46Speaker 04

Let's talk a little wrestling, brother.

• 58:48Travis Kelce?

  Little wrestling?

• 58:49Speaker 04

  Little wrestling, brother.

• 58:50Travis Kelce?

Big WWE fan. You were at WrestleMania last year in Philly. When Jason got in the ring.

• 58:56Speaker 00

  Oh, really?

• 58:57Speaker 04

  Yeah.

• 58:57Speaker 00

You were in the, you were at, okay.

• 58:59Travis Kelce?

With the, Jason coming out in the Timbs and the.

• 59:03Speaker 00

  Luchador?

• 59:04Travis Kelce?

The Rey Mysterio. Dude, who were your, uh, who were your guys growing up in WWE?

• 59:10Speaker 04

Yeah, uh, I love Randy Orton. John Cena was a, was a big one, Triple H.

• 59:16Speaker 00

  Yeah.

• 59:16Speaker 04

One, but, uh, Kofi Keaton. I used to love Kofi.

• 59:19Speaker 00

  Yeah, okay.

• 59:20Speaker 04

Yeah. Probably liked Undertaker. So a little, a little legendary, but like, man, all those are my guys, but you know, I love John Cena. I had the little, the wristband.

• 59:33Travis Kelce?

  Legend, man.

• 59:34Speaker 00

You were that era right after, like us. Like I remember when we were growing up, it was like Attitude Era. Is that still the Attitude Era with John Cena in them or is that a different era? I always get the eras mixed up.

• 59:44Travis Kelce?

It's like the tail end of it, I think.

• 59:46Speaker 00

Yeah, like for us, it was like Stone Cold.

• 59:48Travis Kelce?

Cause he still had that personality.

• 59:50Speaker 00

Mankind. It was still called the WWF when we were like really growing up. And then it had just transitioned to WWE. If you were going to build an NFL roster out of WWE, let's just say wrestling superstars. Anybody from any era, what is your ultimate NFL roster looking like? Let's start with the, let's start with the quarterback. Who are we going with?

• 1:00:10Travis Kelce?

This is tough. Go ahead. Let's hear it.

• 1:00:12Speaker 04

For QB, go ahead and give me, is there a surprise? Give me CM Punk.

• 1:00:18Speaker 00

  Ooh.

• 1:00:21Speaker 00

You, you want somebody good at promos? You want somebody to get it delivering promos? Okay, there we go. CM Punk.

• 1:00:26Speaker 04

Get a dime. All right, let's start off with lineman, bro.

• 1:00:29Speaker 00

  All right.

• 1:00:30Speaker 04

  Mark Henry.

• 1:00:31Travis Kelce?

  Hey.

• 1:00:33Speaker 04

  Hard spots.

• 1:00:34Travis Kelce?

  Let's go.

• 1:00:35Speaker 00

  Yeah.

• 1:00:36Speaker 04

Give me the big show, even tackle. Give me the great colleague at even tackle.

• 1:00:40Travis Kelce?

  Okay.

• 1:00:40Speaker 00

  Great colleague.

• 1:00:42Speaker 04

We're gonna throw him a little bit of power in little Gaskin, all right?

• 1:00:46Speaker 00

What about, what about Andre the Giant? Where's he fitting in?

• 1:00:49Travis Kelce?

  Yeah.

• 1:00:52Travis Kelce?

  All time, all time.

• 1:00:53Speaker 04

Andre the Giant at one of the tackles.

• 1:00:56Speaker 04

We're talking this big six, seven footers.

• 1:00:58Speaker 00

  All around. Yeah, exactly.

• 1:01:00Speaker 04

The world's strongest man at center now.

• 1:01:02Travis Kelce?

  There you go.

• 1:01:03Speaker 00

Oh, okay, there we go, there we go.

• 1:01:05Speaker 04

Running back. Oh my goodness. Give me Ray Mysterio.

• 1:01:09Travis Kelce?

Ray Mysterio, that's what I'm talking about.

• 1:01:12Speaker 04

We're not going for a lot of crazy, so we need him to get in the gaps. Just, there's gonna be a lot of big guys up front to squeeze in and just.

• 1:01:18Travis Kelce?

  Just find, yeah.

• 1:01:19Speaker 00

He's gonna be like Darren Sproles. He's gonna be like Darren Sproles. He's gonna hide behind the line and then just peek on.

• 1:01:24Speaker 04

Exactly. We're getting ball by the great colleague. There he goes.

• 1:01:28Speaker 04

Wide receiver wise, that's where I'm gonna struggle.

• 1:01:30Speaker 00

What about tight end? What do you think tight end? Cause that's a definite like WWE position. I think every tight end is a wrestling fan, it feels like.

• 1:01:38Speaker 04

I'm just trying to think of somebody, man. I'm blanking right now. You think, you think John Cena's fast?

• 1:01:45Speaker 00

  I don't think he's fast.

• 1:01:47Speaker 00

To be fair though, I don't, I don't think many wrestlers are fast. I don't think that's what they go to wrestling for. They, the, the ring is only so big.

• 1:01:54Travis Kelce?

  Yeah.

• 1:01:56Travis Kelce?

I think John Cena will figure it out at tight end.

• 1:01:58Speaker 00

  I think that's a good one.

• 1:01:59Speaker 04

With Cena, or a block inside him.

• 1:02:01Speaker 00

If, if that's your lineman size, it would be proportionate for John to be.

• 1:02:06Speaker 04

Give me John in there, man. Give me John.

• 1:02:08Speaker 00

Who we going for wide receiver?

• 1:02:09Travis Kelce?

  John Cena.

• 1:02:11Speaker 04

Wide receiver, probably give me a Kofi Kesa.

• 1:02:13Speaker 00

  Okay.

• 1:02:14Travis Kelce?

  Okay.

• 1:02:15Speaker 04

  Give me Archroo. Our truth.

• 1:02:18Travis Kelce?

Our truth, man, you're taking it. I don't even know these guys. I was thinking like a Jeff Hardy or like, uh, one of the Hardy brothers flying off the top rope with the hair.

• 1:02:28Speaker 00

Like a Triple H or, uh,

• 1:02:31Travis Kelce?

This team is running the fuck out of the ball. Triple H is the wide receiver.

• 1:02:35Speaker 04

Yeah, I was gonna say, we're gonna run this block.

• 1:02:39Speaker 00

What about the rock? Who's the rock? The rock could play tight end and receiver.

• 1:02:43Speaker 04

Yeah, I mean, you put the rockets. I did. I mean, honestly, bro, it's be, uh, be crazy. Put more swat the wide receiver, putting that slot.

• 1:02:49Travis Kelce?

There we go. Yeah, we'll figure it out.

• 1:02:51Speaker 00

  There we go.

• 1:02:52Speaker 04

  What about that?

• 1:02:53Travis Kelce?

  That's fucking.

• 1:02:53Speaker 00

I think it's a pretty good roster. I would be interested. I mean, that's what the XFL should have just done. They should have tried to get football players. They should have just done this.

• 1:03:03Travis Kelce?

These guys out there, see how they go.

• 1:03:06Speaker 00

  That's right.

• 1:03:07Travis Kelce?

Who would be your tag team partner if you ever were to join the WWE?

• 1:03:12Speaker 00

  Ooh.

• 1:03:14Speaker 04

Without a doubt, without fault, without question, Kree Humphrey.

• 1:03:18Speaker 00

He's your tag team in the NFL. Why wouldn't he be the tag team?

• 1:03:22Travis Kelce?

  You guys got it.

• 1:03:24Speaker 00

What would your tag team name be?

• 1:03:25Travis Kelce?

You guys got a team name?

• 1:03:27Speaker 04

  Ebony and Ivory.

• 1:03:35Travis Kelce?

Put it on a T-shirt. Put it on a T-shirt. Put it on a T-shirt. Oh, that is fucking.

• 1:03:48Speaker 00

  My gosh, that's good.

• 1:03:51Speaker 00

  That's great.

• 1:03:52Travis Kelce?

How did it come to you so quick, man? That was gold.

• 1:03:55Speaker 04

  It's got lucky, man.

• 1:03:57Travis Kelce?

God damn Ebony and Ivory, man.

• 1:03:59Speaker 00

  That is electric.

• 1:04:00Speaker 04

  So are you.

• 1:04:01Travis Kelce?

Woo. All right, big dog. Uh, let's, uh, let's get to this last segment, man.

• 1:04:08Speaker 00

No topping that. That's gonna be the best thing.

• 1:04:10Travis Kelce?

Man, Ebony and Ivory forever, man. It's our last segment. We always close out the, uh, the interviews with we gotta ask, but you don't have to answer. You could tell us to fuck off on any of these questions, or you could just give us a quick answer, man. Let's start it off with what is your ideal Casey barbecue? Plate.

• 1:04:27Speaker 04

Ooh, okay. Uh, I do place in a car from Jack's that I'm asking Lamb ribs, man. I don't know why, but they have the best.

• 1:04:35Speaker 00

  You say lamb ribs?

• 1:04:36Speaker 04

  Lamb ribs.

• 1:04:37Travis Kelce?

  Get in on these. I

• 1:04:38Speaker 00

Is that different than like lamb chops? Like what is they they just don't cut them up?

• 1:04:42Speaker 04

Yeah, it's just like the red part of the lamb. So like they do a dry rub season on it, but like super tender, man. Decent mafia of the balls. I tell you right now.

• 1:04:50Speaker 00

I do like lamb. Lamb is great. Okay. All right. All right. I did not expect that from a Tennessee guy. I did not expect lamb ribs. I did not.

• 1:04:58Speaker 04

Let me do the full regional. So I'm gonna do land land from KC and Burnet. So two from there, right? I'm also gonna show a ton of love to Texas. I want half a pound of brisket, at least, at least. I want a beef rib, a little piece of beef rib.

• 1:05:13Speaker 00

Beef rib is the best. That's my favorite. Oh, I love beef rib.

• 1:05:16Speaker 04

And then finally closing it out for Memphis. That's where I would do my pork. So pork ribs, pulled pork, even like a barbecue chicken like that. That's my, that's my seeds down there.

• 1:05:25Speaker 00

  So, so everything.

• 1:05:29Speaker 04

Spread the love. I can't pick one.

• 1:05:31Speaker 00

What about sides? Where we go in sides?

• 1:05:33Speaker 04

Uh, I gotta have mac and cheese, baked beans. Give me slaw.

• 1:05:37Speaker 00

  Slaw.

• 1:05:37Travis Kelce?

  Slaw.

• 1:05:38Speaker 00

  Dessert?

• 1:05:38Travis Kelce?

  Slaw guy.

• 1:05:39Speaker 00

I think I know where you're going with dessert.

• 1:05:40Travis Kelce?

  For sure.

• 1:05:41Speaker 04

Uh, I think the the proper desserts always be like a peach cobbler or banana pudding.

• 1:05:46Speaker 00

I thought you were going banana pudding. That's where I go all day. I'm, I gotta ask you this because we talked about this last, when you think of barbecue, do you think of the Midwest or do you think of down south?

• 1:05:54Speaker 04

  I think down south.

• 1:05:55Speaker 00

  Bam, bam.

• 1:05:58Travis Kelce?

But to be fair, Tennessee, Tennessee is the Midwest, to be fair.

• 1:06:02Speaker 04

  Oh, it's not.

• 1:06:03Travis Kelce?

  Tennessee is the Midwest.

• 1:06:05Speaker 00

  Turn it back.

• 1:06:07Speaker 04

No, I'll bless you. No, it's just south salt, brother. It's still down south.

• 1:06:11Travis Kelce?

To the original 13 colonies. I'll give you that.

• 1:06:15Speaker 04

  Yeah.

• 1:06:15Travis Kelce?

The today's day and age, I mean, it's right next to us.

• 1:06:18Speaker 04

  It is.

• 1:06:19Speaker 00

  It is close.

• 1:06:20Travis Kelce?

  If Ohio is the Midwest.

• 1:06:23Speaker 00

It really makes no sense that Ohio is in the Midwest, right? Like, I don't, it's on the eastern side of the country. It's, it's never made sense to me.

• 1:06:31Speaker 04

  Either way.

• 1:06:31Speaker 00

And then Tennessee's in the middle of the country. It's not down south. It's like smack dab in the middle.

• 1:06:36Speaker 04

  Yeah.

• 1:06:36Speaker 00

  It doesn't make sense.

• 1:06:40Travis Kelce?

Talking more about food. You won the Kelsey Jam Wing Eating Contest by a landslide. It wasn't even fucking close.

• 1:06:48Speaker 04

  Easy.

• 1:06:48Speaker 00

So timeout, what is this? Cause I've, I've dabbled in a wing contest. What was this? How many wings? What was the time?

• 1:06:55Travis Kelce?

I think it was like a minute. I don't even remember. It wasn't that long.

• 1:06:58Speaker 04

It wasn't long. The dude you guys put me up against was a scrub, man.

• 1:07:01Travis Kelce?

Yeah, he didn't have, I don't know. I think he won a contest to get into it. I don't even think, he just won like a raffle. Like he got pulled out of the, I don't even know if he like ate wings like that. Uh, but it was still, it was still funny as hell.

• 1:07:16Speaker 00

What was the competition? How, what was the, do you remember?

• 1:07:19Travis Kelce?

It was a winging contest. Yeah.

• 1:07:20Speaker 00

I know it was a winging competition, Travis. Trey, what was the, what was the, what was the deal?

• 1:07:26Speaker 04

It was a Wingstop deal. They had probably like 20 wings in a container. It's just as many as you could eat and then like fill it up in the same. So I think the time was a minute though. It wasn't very long.

• 1:07:37Speaker 00

How many did you get down in a minute?

• 1:07:39Speaker 04

Well, I could have gotten more, but based on his tempo, I was just like.

• 1:07:42Travis Kelce?

You were just looking over like, oh yeah.

• 1:07:44Speaker 00

  You were in cruise control?

• 1:07:45Travis Kelce?

This is getting, this is getting crazy.

• 1:07:47Speaker 04

I mean, I put down, Charlie, like seven, five or something.

• 1:07:49Travis Kelce?

Easy. It was easy. It was, yeah.

• 1:07:51Speaker 00

So have you ever heard of Wing Bowl, Trey?

• 1:07:54Speaker 04

  Did it.

• 1:07:54Speaker 00

So Wing Bowl was, is it, was a Philadelphia contest they used to have and the local radio station put it on because the Eagles were never in the Super Bowl. So the Wing Bowl was always the same time as the Super Bowl. They did it at Wells Fargo. It was shenanigans.

• 1:08:09Travis Kelce?

It was at seven in the morning.

• 1:08:11Speaker 00

People would be drinking the night before.

• 1:08:13Travis Kelce?

On a Friday. They would tailgate all fucking night.

• 1:08:16Speaker 00

Legendary. There was all sorts. You wouldn't be able to do it again because there was like all sorts of strip clubs and other things involved in it. But there was, there were like local, like there were local superstars that developed into these larger than life characters. Anyways, I competed one year in it and the way the contest worked, it was 14 minutes, 14, one round of 14 minutes. Then there was elimination, a second round of 14 minutes and elimination, and then a speed round of two minutes. So 30 minutes overall, you have to eat wings.

• 1:08:42Travis Kelce?

  Whoa, what?

• 1:08:44Speaker 00

I ate 65 wings in the first 14 minutes. I'm thinking I'm killing it.

• 1:08:49Travis Kelce?

  65?

• 1:08:50Speaker 00

  I think it, I'm like.

• 1:08:51Travis Kelce?

  He got fucking smoked.

• 1:08:53Speaker 00

I was out in the first round, not even close. The woman who holds the record at Wing Bowl, take a guess at how many wings? The winner of Wing Bowl won with?

• 1:09:04Travis Kelce?

  This is insane.

• 1:09:05Speaker 00

This is a 30 minute timeframe. Keep in mind 30 minutes. How many wings do you think she got down in 30 minutes?

• 1:09:15Speaker 04

If you ate 65, I got you look. I mean, it's gotta be like touch like 100, right?

• 1:09:20Speaker 00

Bro, keep going. Well, I'm not talking about the first round. This is all three rounds. Like she had over 200 in the first round. I'll give you that.

• 1:09:29Travis Kelce?

In the first round, he got fucking smoked by.

• 1:09:33Speaker 00

Brandon, look up the record for wing bowl. Look up wing bowl record. Molly.

• 1:09:38Speaker 04

  Picture of this legend too.

• 1:09:41Speaker 00

  She's a beast. She's a beast. She's a she's I think she's from Omaha or something like that. She's just this tiny woman. Molly.

• 1:09:47Travis Kelce?

In the ringer. They flew in a ringer from Omaha.

• 1:09:51Speaker 00

She qualified. She ate like 10 pounds of steak to qualify to get into the deal. No, this is like a big prize. It was a big, big event. Brandon, what was the, can you look this up, Brandon?

• 1:10:01Travis Kelce?

They deleted all information from the wing bowl because of what they were doing inside that stadium.

• 1:10:06Speaker 00

She ate 455 in the first 28 minutes.

• 1:10:11Speaker 04

That's unbelievable. That can't be real.

• 1:10:13Speaker 00

501 30 minutes. It's 501 set by Molly Skyler, wing bowl 26. That was how many? How crazy is that though? 501 wings.

• 1:10:21Speaker 04

I mean, that's unbelievable. That's another you see purely possible.

• 1:10:24Travis Kelce?

Listen, I've seen, I've seen Trey Smith fill up a few to go boxes.

• 1:10:29Speaker 04

  Every Thursday night.

• 1:10:31Travis Kelce?

  Dude, Thursday nights.

• 1:10:32Speaker 00

This is what the Pro Bowl's missing. The Pro Bowl shouldn't be playing flag. It should have an offensive lineman wing eating competition. I want to see which offensive lineman in the NFL can eat the most wings.

• 1:10:41Speaker 04

  I'm with it.

• 1:10:42Speaker 00

  Yeah.

• 1:10:43Travis Kelce?

I'd buy that ticket. Yeah, I'd fucking buy that ticket.

• 1:10:45Speaker 04

Kingsley and I have a challenge because Kingsley said he's eaten 80 in one sitting. So.

• 1:10:49Travis Kelce?

  What? Kingsley's doing what?

• 1:10:52Speaker 00

That's a good guard. I like, I like, I like him sliding into guard then.

• 1:10:59Travis Kelce?

Thursday nights are always my favorite after meetings because it's wing night in, in the facility. You can go in there and everybody they listen. The Kansas City chefs.

• 1:11:12Travis Kelce?

They put together a spread of like five to six different flavors and they just keep bringing them out. They just keep bringing it. And when I tell you, everybody's just in there cracking jokes, having a good old fucking time, just smashing them. And you see Trey walking out with fucking three boxes. Dude, good times, baby. Good times, man.

• 1:11:37Speaker 04

The worst part is getting the peanut on the way back home.

• 1:11:42Travis Kelce?

Jason, I'm telling you, gotta stop through the peanut at least one time before, like next time you're in KC, man.

• 1:11:49Speaker 04

Mine's like three minutes from the crib, man. I'll walk to it.

• 1:11:52Speaker 00

  I'm in.

• 1:11:52Travis Kelce?

You go to the one downtown or you go to the one around Plaza?

• 1:11:55Speaker 04

  Downtown location.

• 1:11:56Travis Kelce?

  Oh, yeah. It's classy, man.

• 1:11:58Speaker 04

It got so bad that every time I stop in there on Thursday, like, oh, the usual, or I'll call them like, is this Trey? I'm like, yeah, I will see you about 10 minutes.

• 1:12:07Travis Kelce?

  We got you, dog.

• 1:12:09Speaker 04

  We got you.

• 1:12:10Travis Kelce?

We'll make them fresh for you, big guy.

• 1:12:11Speaker 00

Next question. O-line Mount Rushmore, who you putting on it?

• 1:12:15Travis Kelce?

  Who?

• 1:12:16Speaker 00

Top four O-linemen in NFL history?

• 1:12:19Travis Kelce?

  Golly.

• 1:12:20Speaker 04

We're putting you on the spot. Dude, I gotta put Larry Allen in there. Rest in peace, Larry Allen. Uh, for me. And like, everyone wants to be as strong as Larry, but no one's as strong as Larry. No one has to say it.

• 1:12:30Speaker 00

And deceptively athletic. That one play of him hawking down the interception. Oh, my gosh.

• 1:12:38Speaker 04

  Yeah, I thought it was.

• 1:12:40Speaker 00

  Yeah.

• 1:12:42Speaker 00

Oh, no, I'm not Larry Allen. Okay.

• 1:12:47Speaker 04

Dude, I want to put in, uh, Jackie Slater.

• 1:12:50Speaker 00

  Yeah, okay.

• 1:12:51Travis Kelce?

  Nice, man.

• 1:12:52Speaker 04

He's so big man for like 20 plus years. Coach had always talks about him and just look at his story. He's awesome. Um, this is a personal one of mine. I, I want to put, um, I want to put Joe Thomas in there.

• 1:13:05Travis Kelce?

  Joe T.

• 1:13:07Speaker 00

You say personal, why is that a personal one for you? Like, what is?

• 1:13:10Speaker 04

Just like, that was a dude I used to watch a ton in high school.

• 1:13:13Travis Kelce?

  Hell, yeah.

• 1:13:13Speaker 04

I had a guy like Charles Bentley at the time tell me, hey, uh,

• 1:13:17Speaker 00

  La Charles.

• 1:13:20Speaker 04

Why the fuck are you watching Joe Thomas?

• 1:13:23Speaker 04

So he set me straight pretty fast. Uh, I put Will Shields in there.

• 1:13:29Speaker 00

That's a great, hey, that's a damn good Mount Rushmore right there. That is damn.

• 1:13:33Travis Kelce?

  Right there, baby.

• 1:13:34Speaker 00

Yeah, Joe, dude, I love that you put Joe in there. I mean, one of the most underrated, if that's possible, like, the guy didn't miss a snap for like 10 years. Can you think about, I mean, how outrageous that is on top of just being.

• 1:13:48Travis Kelce?

Not miss a snap. He was out there balling.

• 1:13:51Speaker 04

  Yeah.

• 1:13:52Speaker 00

And didn't miss a snap when they were like 0 and 15.

• 1:13:56Speaker 04

  Yeah.

• 1:13:57Speaker 00

And he's like, yeah, I'm still gonna go out here and do my job because that's what I get paid to do.

• 1:14:00Speaker 04

That's what makes us so great.

• 1:14:01Travis Kelce?

Legend, man. Hall of Fame beef. He's got a farm.

• 1:14:04Speaker 00

Dude, think about how crazy it is. He didn't miss a snap and not one of those snaps was a playoff snap. Could you imagine? I don't even know why I'm making that connection, but it's just how, it's just outlandish to me. Uh, whatever.

• 1:14:14Travis Kelce?

  I'm sure he loves hearing.

• 1:14:16Speaker 00

Yeah, I know. I'm an idiot. I should have said that. All right, whatever. Who's the toughest guy you've ever had to block one on one?

• 1:14:21Speaker 04

  Aaron Donald.

• 1:14:22Speaker 00

  Yeah.

• 1:14:23Travis Kelce?

  AD.

• 1:14:24Speaker 00

What about somebody unheralded? Maybe somebody the media wouldn't expect.

• 1:14:30Speaker 04

I would say Malik Collins, who was just recently with the 49ers.

• 1:14:34Speaker 00

Dude, I, I played him when he was young in Dallas and got to watch him get a lot better uh, over his tenure there. And I agree. There's something about the, like, you could tell he's smart and he's like, he's ahead of like what he wants to do. And um, I love that answer. Malik is a great player. Where's he at now? You said where?

• 1:14:54Speaker 04

Uh, it was 49ers, but I don't know if he's there again this upcoming year.

• 1:14:58Speaker 00

Yeah, he, he started in Dallas, I think.

• 1:15:00Speaker 04

He's with the Texans the first time I played him.

• 1:15:02Speaker 00

Then he went to, yep, then he went to Houston and then the 49ers probably. Great answer. Love that answer. Why do you, is there a reason?

• 1:15:10Speaker 04

I just think for his size, his ability to move the way he does, and like you said, you can tell that he's anticipating like what he's gonna do for his moves. You know, I mean, he's sort of setting something up every time and like generally guys that size are gonna have the ability to move the way he does. And just like he's very proficient with his hands as well. So I always felt like he was a guy that. He doesn't have the quote unquote like namesake and accolades, but he's one of those dudes where you go to sleep on a man, you're having a long ass day. Like it embarrasses you fast.

• 1:15:37Speaker 00

  Yeah, man.

• 1:15:37Speaker 04

I just respected him, man. I really respected him.

• 1:15:39Speaker 00

  That's awesome. Love that answer.

• 1:15:40Travis Kelce?

Man, I gotta ask you, this just made me think of our guy, friend of the, friend of the family, friend of the show. We gotta actually get him on the show soon, but Colin Saunders. Was it going up against Serb going Monday night?

• 1:15:56Speaker 04

  Serb.

• 1:15:58Travis Kelce?

  This past year, man.

• 1:15:59Speaker 04

  Yeah, it was cool playing.

• 1:16:01Speaker 00

He probably wasn't talking, right? He didn't talk, right?

• 1:16:04Speaker 04

  Colin was locked in.

• 1:16:06Travis Kelce?

He was, he was locked in.

• 1:16:08Speaker 04

He was locked in. No, it was cool saying baseball, Colin was probably one, he's gonna go down as one of my favorite teammates I've ever had.

• 1:16:14Travis Kelce?

  Of all time.

• 1:16:15Speaker 04

Just great dude, man. Funny, unbelievably funny, man.

• 1:16:19Travis Kelce?

It's always gonna be a good time around bank, man. But that shit's funny as hell. Was it? I, I was gonna say that I, I can see him being locked in when, whenever I came across him on the field. But you already know, he is such a funny guy and such like, uh, I want to say a class clown, but he's here to have a good time while we get business done. You know what I mean? And, uh, he's got that championship work ethic and everything, but it, it's, it's just, I don't know why it's hard for me to see some guys take it that serious. And for whatever reason, I mean, I saw it, but it, I, it just had to feel different for you going up against, uh, him as a saint instead of just in practice and stuff.

• 1:16:57Speaker 04

Yeah, it definitely was a weird feeling those first couple of plays, but I think the biggest thing is just like for me to learn that like, man, if your buddy makes a play on you, it makes you look bad, it's gonna be even worse. So like you can never.

• 1:17:07Travis Kelce?

  You already know.

• 1:17:08Speaker 04

I know too much. There's a little play, hey, chill, chill, chill, chill.

• 1:17:15Speaker 04

You gotta, you gotta be on your P's and Q's, man.

• 1:17:17Speaker 00

Speaking of going up against guys in practice, what's it like to go up against Chris Jones? What was that first one on one like?

• 1:17:22Speaker 04

Yeah, he gave me my welcome to the NFL.

• 1:17:26Speaker 04

Yeah, man, going against Chris, like, obviously, you know, the caliber of player he is, you know, as a rookie coming into it, and I just remember, like, just being overwhelmed a little bit, like, say, Joe's, it's your volume of plays you gotta learn. It's hot as hell, like, they're riding you every day, and then here you are, blocking this all-pro, so, like, best gives a tackle in NFL, like, good luck, rookie, like, figuring all this out, you know, and, you know, for me, it was just getting whooped repetitively towards, like, okay, I'm learning, okay, this worked against him. Where I can't, I can't play him like this, but, like, I feel like the, sort of line to it all was, I understand that as I go through the season, I'm not gonna play Chris Jones.

• 1:18:11Travis Kelce?

  Every single week.

• 1:18:12Speaker 04

Every single week. Well, I might face, like, maybe one, but there's only one Chris Jones, you know what I mean? So, like, for me, it's, like, understanding how to block him, but then also the lesson is, like, I'm over here, you know, riding, it's like a long drive drill, we're, like, play thirteen, he got something out, he's back in, and I throw a right hand, he slaps it out, beats me, he's like, Pat Sipps, and he just comes back, it's like, hey, look here, rookie, you gotta get that hand to the outside, you know?

• 1:18:38Travis Kelce?

He gonna come over and sweet talk you, man.

• 1:18:39Speaker 00

You can't throw that outside hand too shallow.

• 1:18:41Speaker 04

And he just go live, I'm just like, what's going on, bro?

• 1:18:44Travis Kelce?

Trey, I've been trying to tell you, you can't be doing that.

• 1:18:49Travis Kelce?

  That Mississippi accent, man.

• 1:18:51Speaker 04

Yeah, I lo- I love him though, man, like, I really, um, I, I'm so happy I get to go against that type of player every time, because I know, once again, it just prepares me, bro, I'm not gonna see that all the time, and, you know, just like that iron sharpens iron, right? I wanna be able to go against the best, so, like, oh, yeah, it's go time, and the bullets start flying, I already seen something like that, but actually, you're not as good as him, so, let me show that guy.

• 1:19:13Speaker 00

Yeah, there ain't, you ain't gonna find too many people as good as him in the actual game, it's a good thing he's in practice, you like that? We saw him before he really started to develop a name. The year we actually won the Super Bowl, I think it was one of his first games, like starting, starting.

• 1:19:27Travis Kelce?

  Yep.

• 1:19:27Speaker 00

Bro, we didn't really prepare for it. We just like, we're like, oh, like, we're just playing like a three technique and like half of the game, like, who in the fuck is this guy?

• 1:19:41Speaker 00

This is so like, I was like, God dang, this guy. And then we watched the rest of the season. He's killing everybody. It's like, thank God it's not just us. Let's do this very good.

• 1:19:49Travis Kelce?

  Nine five, man.

• 1:19:50Speaker 00

  That's fun.

• 1:19:51Travis Kelce?

Trey, I think we're good, dog. I appreciate you coming on, giving us your time, your stories, man.

• 1:19:58Speaker 04

  Sir.

• 1:19:59Travis Kelce?

Wish you the best. And you already know, going into mini camp, man, we're gonna fucking turn this thing up. Get right back after it, baby. I'll see you next week, man. But appreciate you taking the time and jumping on and telling us all these fun ass stories, man.

• 1:20:11Speaker 04

  Yeah, man. Appreciate y'all.

• 1:20:12Speaker 00

  Pleasure.

• 1:20:13Speaker 04

• 1:20:14Travis Kelce?

You already know. Back at it.

Such a cool story too, man. And he's only adding on to it, man.
