• 1:00Connor Wood?

  Okay. Hey, Brooke.

• 1:02Brooke Averick?

  Hey, Connor.

• 1:03Connor Wood?

It's me, Connor, from high school.

• 1:04Brooke Averick?

It's nice to see you. Good morning. Welcome back to Brooke and Connor Make a Podcast.

• 1:09Connor Wood?

Yeah, that's to everyone. That was a greeting to the world. Good morning to everyone who's listening. I just got back from the dentist. I got a root canal and then I got a filling right in front of it. I can't feel the whole right side of my face.

• 1:22Brooke Averick?

Why'd you do that before the podcast?

• 1:24Connor Wood?

Dentists, it's not like getting a haircut. Like, they have an opening, you just have to take it.

• 1:29Brooke Averick?

  Yeah, that's true.

• 1:31Connor Wood?

And I'm also, the dentist that I ended up going to, it's a family practice. He's very much like a father figure to me already. I've met him twice. And it feels like that. When I first got there, they're like, who do you know? It was like being in a fraternity.

• 1:46Brooke Averick?

  Oh, wow.

• 1:47Connor Wood?

Yeah, name three people you know. And I was like, I know, I'm friends of a friend with this person, but I've never met her. And they let me in because I was just like running a comedy clinic in the dental office. Like, I was being so funny. All the places were like...

• 2:04Connor Wood?

Like, I'm there for one reason and one reason only. And it's not an appropriate time to joke. I'm running a absolute comedy special with the receptionists. They love me so much. But I'm just like warning you. So I do want to say really quickly.

• 2:21Brooke Averick?

I can't stop looking at the way your mouth is moving in such a unique way.

• 2:45Connor Wood?

I have a really high tolerance to anesthesia. Anastasia? No, that's a woman.

• 2:51Brooke Averick?

  Anesthesia was right.

• 2:53Connor Wood?

  Anastasia's a woman. Anesthesia would be a-

• 2:54Brooke Averick?

And by that, do you mean like it takes a lot? To get you?

• 2:58Connor Wood?

Like, I was up the whole time during my wisdom teeth removal.

• 3:02Brooke Averick?

  Right.

• 3:03Connor Wood?

And they kept going up the gas and it was in slow motion and really deep. And I was like, yeah, up the gas, baby. Everything was like really low pitch and like slow. And I was like, I'm having so much fun here. Um, but then they were like, actually lower the gas. But I was awake the whole time. I'm also really like high tolerance to the numbing thing.

• 3:25Brooke Averick?

  Yeah.

• 3:26Connor Wood?

So I like still feel stuff. So I keep insisting. Can you please just put more in? Cause that feeling of like hitting a nerve on my teeth.

• 3:35Connor Wood?

Yeah, I was holding the assistant's hand.

• 3:37Brooke Averick?

You can't even hear the word nerve.

• 3:41Connor Wood?

  Nerve?

• 3:41Brooke Averick?

Nerve. In like relation to the body?

• 3:46Connor Wood?

Yeah, it's a freaky thing and they're everywhere. Of course, like the one thing that you're not comfortable with is like all over.

• 3:52Brooke Averick?

Yeah, I'm just not comfortable with it at all.

• 3:56Connor Wood?

  Wish I could help.

• 3:56Brooke Averick?

  Did you feel?

• 3:57Connor Wood?

Yeah, I felt. But the good part is, and something I'm really excited about, is this tooth that I've been dealing with, I've been putting up with for so long, I think it was five years ago, I was in New York, and I was chewing gum, and then I just felt this tooth crack in half. I pulled my gum out, two pieces of tooth in it, just like for no reason. For what?

• 4:20Brooke Averick?

And so now the tooth is gone?

• 4:22Connor Wood?

Well, he drilled it almost completely out. He drilled me to bits, and then filled it back in. But this is great news, because that's the problem tooth for my flossing. It's like, I'm not gonna be in pain while I'm eating anymore.

• 4:36Brooke Averick?

Wait, so now he put a new tooth in?

• 4:38Connor Wood?

  No, it's like, it's a filling, essentially.

• 4:40Brooke Averick?

  Oh.

• 4:42Connor Wood?

  Ruknau filling, cap.

• 4:44Brooke Averick?

But does it look like there's a tooth there? Or a tooth with a filling?

• 4:48Connor Wood?

It's, I don't know, I can't see it. It's the back right. You can't see it. But he also had to drill under the one in front of it.

• 4:53Brooke Averick?

If someone drilled into my head like that, I would be in bed for four weeks.

• 4:59Connor Wood?

I've just done this so many times, because I got brittle bones. Every morning I break my legs, every evening I break my arms.

• 5:04Brooke Averick?

I wonder if that's part of your syndrome.

• 5:07Connor Wood?

It's not. Like, I confirmed I don't have that, by the way.

• 5:09Brooke Averick?

  Oh, did you?

• 5:09Connor Wood?

Eller's Down Low Syndrome. No, I don't have it.

• 5:14Brooke Averick?

How did you figure that out?

• 5:16Connor Wood?

Because I looked at length. Well, I looked at length at the symptoms.

• 5:20Brooke Averick?

  It was self-diagnosis?

• 5:22Connor Wood?

I truly don't have any of these, like, in a real way.

• 5:26Brooke Averick?

  Okay.

• 5:27Connor Wood?

And a lot of people were telling me, they were like, "You would know if you had it." That kind of thing.

• 5:32Brooke Averick?

  Okay.

• 5:33Connor Wood?

It's like, but it's also like, you guys think way too highly of how in touch I am with my body. Like, I don't know what's going on. Like, I think that I would, I think I put up with a lot of things that happened to me internally, and then I get used to them. And someone would have to come in and be like, "That's not normal, by the way," you know?

• 5:55Brooke Averick?

Right, so maybe you do have it, and you just aren't noticing.

• 5:58Connor Wood?

  Totally.

• 5:59Brooke Averick?

  Yeah.

• 5:59Connor Wood?

  By the way.

• 6:00Brooke Averick?

Yeah, I wish there was some sort of person you could go to.

• 6:05Connor Wood?

Well, she only gives me 15 minutes when I go into my family practice and I have to go through my list of reasons.

• 6:10Brooke Averick?

Oh, you're doing the family practice for a doctor as well?

• 6:13Connor Wood?

Um, well, that's it. That's just like a primary care physician. It's like they call it a family practice. Um, and I went in and I had, I pulled out my list called reasons I'm gonna die. And she goes, you can pick three of these bullet points. Cause we only have 15 minutes.

• 6:25Brooke Averick?

I had that the last time I went to the doctor too.

• 6:28Connor Wood?

So we're gonna just have a standing appointment like therapy?

• 6:31Brooke Averick?

  Yeah.

• 6:31Connor Wood?

  And she also recommended? Therapy.

• 6:33Brooke Averick?

  And did you go?

• 6:35Connor Wood?

Oh, I've been twice, y'all. I've been twice to therapy.

• 6:37Brooke Averick?

  Connor, how was it?

• 6:39Connor Wood?

Um, it was good. I, this last lesson, I snapchatted you yesterday.

• 6:45Brooke Averick?

  Yeah.

• 6:46Connor Wood?

The way I didn't understand what he said for an hour, like I was so crazy. At one point I was just like,

• 6:54Connor Wood?

you know, cause we were talking through, like the way that I'll, I'll have something that comes up that's timely and important, like a due date for your writing. And then all of a sudden I'm going to the dentist for the first time in six years. I'm going to the doctor for the first seven, five years. And, but I'm not doing these things that like, like, okay, what's another month without going to the doctor, but like, this thing is gonna happen no matter what, you know, so.

• 7:17Brooke Averick?

  Right.

• 7:18Connor Wood?

Like work stuff, you know? And it's like, okay, maybe do your work stuff and then, but like it's like pushes me to do that. And guess what his advice was?

• 7:26Brooke Averick?

  What?

• 7:27Connor Wood?

Longest sentence I've ever heard. And then, I would recommend just doing it.

• 7:33Brooke Averick?

I don't know what else there is to say about that, truly.

• 7:36Connor Wood?

No, really? And I, it like, I was like, I've like never considered, just, do it.

• 7:45Brooke Averick?

  Yeah.

• 7:46Connor Wood?

Like, I'm being, I'm, I'm, I'm in therapy with the Nike logo.

• 7:52Brooke Averick?

I was literally just about to say sometimes all it takes is a slogan.

• 7:56Connor Wood?

So that's why slogans are so powerful and copywriters like, you are doing God's work. So don't use chat GPT because like, things like that, like now I have the Nike slogan, really pulling me to the finish line.

• 8:11Brooke Averick?

Do you feel like you've been helped?

• 8:14Connor Wood?

  No.

• 8:14Brooke Averick?

  Okay.

• 8:17Connor Wood?

  Not yet, I should say.

• 8:18Brooke Averick?

Well, yeah, it's only been two sessions.

• 8:20Connor Wood?

  It's been two sessions.

• 8:21Brooke Averick?

Do you feel like you guys are clicking?

• 8:22Connor Wood?

  No, God, no.

• 8:26Brooke Averick?

  It's a man?

• 8:28Connor Wood?

  Yes.

• 8:29Brooke Averick?

I have never had a male therapist, so I can't really speak to it, but I am that I don't see that for you.

• 8:39Brooke Averick?

  Everything okay?

• 8:41Connor Wood?

No, I have this like tickle cough that like the doctor said it was allergies and that's why I got the like little thing, but I will say at the dentist and let's circle back to therapy in a second because I want to get this dentist talk out. One thing I want to say about the dentist is why, when I get to the dentist, does my tongue become its own entity? It's needing to touch everyone's finger. It's needing to push the devices out of my mouth. Why is the drill in here? Get it out. Like, like it feels like I brought a really, really belligerently drunk friend to a party and I'm having to be like, I'm sorry. Like he, he's never usually like this. Like, I don't know why he's acting. I don't know why he's acting so weird. Like it's like literally its own thing.

• 9:25Brooke Averick?

No, the only time I've ever noticed my tongue is at the dentist.

• 9:29Connor Wood?

  No.

• 9:29Brooke Averick?

Otherwise I might as well not have one.

• 9:31Connor Wood?

I am sitting there like acting like I don't know him.

• 9:36Brooke Averick?

  It really is bizarre.

• 9:39Connor Wood?

It's so insane. I'm like genuinely trying to be like, stop. And the more I like instigate my tongue, the more it's like, no. Like, why is, why is this mirror in here?

• 9:48Brooke Averick?

  No, they, they don't listen.

• 9:51Connor Wood?

  It's, it's so insane.

• 9:53Brooke Averick?

  It really is.

• 9:54Connor Wood?

I did have to be like, I'm, I don't know why that's happening. I'm sorry. That's my buddy. Like I, he doesn't act like that.

• 10:00Brooke Averick?

Reflexes. Like when you bend your knee and it jolts.

• 10:03Connor Wood?

I will say, one of the funniest things that happened in the dentist was when he goes, why don't you have a crown on this root canal? And I go, I took it out at a restaurant and they cleared my plate. And he goes, I don't need to know. I don't know. I know. They did laugh, but it was more of like a, what is, where did you come from?

• 10:22Brooke Averick?

  Right.

• 10:23Connor Wood?

And how did, where did you come from?

• 10:25Brooke Averick?

  Yeah.

• 10:25Connor Wood?

Where are you going? Like on my, on my form, it probably says Cotton Eye Joe.

• 10:30Brooke Averick?

  Right.

• 10:32Brooke Averick?

  Wow.

• 10:32Connor Wood?

But I have to get, I have to get a crown. I'll just tell you guys, like, if you lose a crown, just know, go ahead and start a savings account immediately, if not sooner, because insurance, my insurance doesn't cover it.

• 10:47Brooke Averick?

Can I ask how much it is?

• 10:49Connor Wood?

  Sure can. $2,400.

• 10:51Brooke Averick?

  That's nutso.

• 10:53Connor Wood?

  Yeah, that's why I was

• 10:56Connor Wood?

insisting to my 18 year old server that I needed to go backstage at the restaurant venue and search through their industrial size cleaning mechanism for dishes.

• 11:09Brooke Averick?

Would they have just put that one back on, though?

• 11:12Connor Wood?

  What do you mean?

• 11:13Brooke Averick?

  I don't think I know what a crown is.

• 11:16Connor Wood?

  It's like a, it's like a veneer.

• 11:19Brooke Averick?

  Okay.

• 11:20Connor Wood?

So just, it kind of fastens on to, they shave the old tooth down, they kill it.

• 11:25Brooke Averick?

Oh, this is not what I thought a crown was at all.

• 11:29Connor Wood?

  It's like essentially.

• 11:30Brooke Averick?

I thought a crown was like a silver, I guess if, I'm thinking of a filling.

• 11:34Connor Wood?

Oh, you can get a silver crown.

• 11:36Brooke Averick?

Oh, why would you opt for the silver or gold crown when there's a white tooth crown?

• 11:41Connor Wood?

  It's less expensive.

• 11:43Brooke Averick?

  Oh, okay.

• 11:45Connor Wood?

I wouldn't mind having a silver or gold crown in my, in the back of my mouth.

• 11:48Brooke Averick?

  In the back.

• 11:49Connor Wood?

  Yeah.

• 11:50Brooke Averick?

  Yeah.

• 11:50Connor Wood?

But I also like, don't like the taste of metal and I.

• 11:53Brooke Averick?

Yeah, I bet you'd be tasting metal.

• 11:55Connor Wood?

You don't want to be tasting pennies when you wake up, but it is,

• 12:00Connor Wood?

I, I think I had one, a silver one a while back when I was in like elementary school in the very back of my mouth and I do remember.

• 12:06Brooke Averick?

I was gonna say, I remember my brother having so many silver things in his mouth when he was little. Maybe that's because they just like fall out. So it's like, why would you not get the silver?

• 12:17Connor Wood?

My daddy's got a gold tooth. My daddy has diabetes. That will go down and history is one of my favorite things to say. Oh, that's a great video.

• 12:28Brooke Averick?

You wanted to circle back to therapy?

• 12:31Connor Wood?

Yeah. And what was I gonna say about therapy? I was just gonna, I think I was gonna say like,

• 12:37Connor Wood?

When, when you're, when you're there, I had, like, when you get to like a running point with therapy.

• 12:43Brooke Averick?

  What does that mean?

• 12:45Connor Wood?

Like, like your stride, when you hit your stride. Cause like right now, he's like, I just wanna like get to know, and I'm like,

• 12:50Brooke Averick?

  That's the worst part.

• 12:51Connor Wood?

I don't know what you want me to tell you. Like, I feel like, I, I didn't, like, I don't have anything that I'm working through right now, you know, like, that I think he really wants to find, like, a thing to work through, and I'm like, I don't really have anything for you, right now.

• 13:05Brooke Averick?

Could you dr- could you try and find one?

• 13:07Connor Wood?

Yeah, I just don't know what I should tell him, where he can be like, oh, I just struck gold.

• 13:13Brooke Averick?

Um, I don't know either. That's something you have to look within.

• 13:17Connor Wood?

It's just like, I don't wanna look within, like, he should be doing that.

• 13:19Brooke Averick?

But, your therapist can't help you if you're not honest. That's something I learned.

• 13:23Connor Wood?

What have you not, what have you not been honest about?

• 13:25Brooke Averick?

I just like, didn't speak about a lot of things. And then, once I did, I was like, yeah, I had to do that.

• 13:31Connor Wood?

  I mean, they're on HIPAA.

• 13:34Brooke Averick?

I know that, but like, still, just like, things you don't wanna talk about.

• 13:38Connor Wood?

  Yeah.

• 13:40Connor Wood?

  Like, that's what they're, they're, that they're, that's their job.

• 13:42Brooke Averick?

I know, it is unfortunate, but...

• 13:44Connor Wood?

I, I, it is, so HIPAA covers, where does HIPAA end? Because if you were to go in and be like, I did just, okay, two things. One, I just killed a person.

• 13:56Brooke Averick?

Good question, because I was very confused about that when I was watching Monsters, the Menendez Brothers, and they're, with their therapist.

• 14:04Connor Wood?

  Did they?

• 14:05Brooke Averick?

Cause they admitted, or, one of them admitted to killing their parents, and he was like, okay, I can't, I won't say anything, I can't say anything.

• 14:13Connor Wood?

I think it's because that guy was on like a heavy-duty payroll. I think that was, I don't, I think HIPAA, what does that say? What does it say for HIPAA?

• 14:22Brooke Averick?

Emergency situations. HIPAA allows disclosures of PHI as needed to treat patients or individuals in immediate danger.

• 14:29Connor Wood?

  What's PHI? Like, suicide?

• 14:31Brooke Averick?

Uh, allows disclosure of personal health, some, maybe? I don't, ooh, is he, what was that?

• 14:42Brooke Averick?

  Protective health information, so information,

• 14:48Brooke Averick?

  workers' compensation,

• 14:52Brooke Averick?

state law will generally take precedence. So that would, that to me includes murder, so.

• 14:58Connor Wood?

Okay, so what if this person didn't exclusively say like, "I murdered this person," but they say something that would implicate them in that? So like, obviously state law, but like, would you be breaking HIPAA if you made a little bit of a jump? And said like, "Oh wait, you were in the state fair parking lot?" Like, that's where that person was at that time, and you're already like, low-key a suspect? You know what I mean?

• 15:21Brooke Averick?

Yeah, I truly do not know.

• 15:23Connor Wood?

I don't know either, because if you break HIPAA, that's grounds for lawsuit against you now.

• 15:28Brooke Averick?

Even if a healthcare provider suspects a patient is involved in a crime,

• 15:33Brooke Averick?

  they can't disclose it without

• 15:35Connor Wood?

  breaking HIPAA.

• 15:35Brooke Averick?

Patient consent. However, there are specific exceptions to HIPAA that allow for disclosures to law enforcement, court-ordered warrants, identifying or locating individuals, crime victim information, suspected criminal activity. Yeah, if a death is suspected to be the result of criminal activity, the covered entity can notify law enforcement. So yeah, you can.

• 15:57Connor Wood?

But I wonder like, how far that goes? What if you're like, "I killed my cat. I killed my neighbor's cat."

• 16:02Brooke Averick?

Then it was, then it's maybe a case by case, state by state.

• 16:05Connor Wood?

Case by case, state by state.

• 16:08Brooke Averick?

I'm just glad I'm not the one in charge. Let's just say that.

• 16:12Connor Wood?

Let's, we can actually leave it at that.

• 16:14Brooke Averick?

Let's say that. And move on.

• 16:18Connor Wood?

You know what would be so weird? Sorry, we don't even have to. It'd be weird if you were under the influence of like, some drug, you're getting surgery or something, and you know how people are like, saying crazy shit. If you were like, "I killed someone," like, but you were under the influence of drugs

• 16:32Brooke Averick?

  Yeah.

• 16:33Connor Wood?

  in the doctor's office.

• 16:34Brooke Averick?

I actually know the answer to this.

• 16:36Connor Wood?

  Do you really?

• 16:37Brooke Averick?

Yeah, your confession would not be admissible in court.

• 16:41Connor Wood?

Because you were under the influ-, oh, because you're not of sound mind and body? Wow.

• 16:44Brooke Averick?

  Exactly.

• 16:47Connor Wood?

  Okay, but low-key?

• 16:49Brooke Averick?

  Yeah.

• 16:52Connor Wood?

We ate that up. We did, we did.

• 16:56Brooke Averick?

We knew one thing for once.

• 16:58Connor Wood?

That's really, it sounded really smart. It was a really intuitive conversation that we just had.

• 17:03Brooke Averick?

  It wouldn't have been intuitive.

• 17:05Connor Wood?

I think something kind of, I think something might have shifted just now. I feel good about that.

• 17:09Brooke Averick?

You know what? Let's quit while we're ahead.

• 17:12Connor Wood?

And let's, we can move straight forward.

• 17:15Brooke Averick?

I for one, am disappointed that I woke up this morning.

• 17:20Connor Wood?

Heard. What's going on over there?

• 17:22Brooke Averick?

  I was having a dream.

• 17:25Connor Wood?

  Oh.

• 17:26Brooke Averick?

  About David Corenswet.

• 17:28Connor Wood?

  Right. I don't think you're alone.

• 17:30Brooke Averick?

  No, I'm not.

• 17:33Connor Wood?

And what was, what's going on in the dream?

• 17:35Brooke Averick?

Um, it was like, he was just giving me a foot massage and I was on a swing.

• 17:41Brooke Averick?

  And we were just chatting.

• 17:44Connor Wood?

How, if you were moving back and forth, was he, how was he running back and?

• 17:49Brooke Averick?

Every time I like got propelled forward, it wasn't even like a consistent foot massage. It was more of just like a really reassuring squeeze on the sole of my foot.

• 17:59Connor Wood?

  That can feel really good.

• 18:00Brooke Averick?

Yeah. It was just more like, I'm here. And I was like, thank you, David.

• 18:07Connor Wood?

  Wow.

• 18:07Brooke Averick?

I haven't even seen Superman yet.

• 18:09Connor Wood?

I heard it's, I heard it's really good. I'm gonna go see it.

• 18:11Brooke Averick?

  I don't think I'm going to. I think it would be, I think it's too much. I don't, I can't afford it.

• 18:17Connor Wood?

Is no real estate left in the noggin?

• 18:18Brooke Averick?

There's no real estate left. Truly. And obviously I say this, I think I've probably said this every episode, but I did go to middle school with him.

• 18:29Connor Wood?

  Yeah, no, I forget.

• 18:30Brooke Averick?

When I meet people now. Hi, I'm Brooke. I went to middle school with David Corenswet.

• 18:33Connor Wood?

  You should make shirts.

• 18:37Brooke Averick?

  I wish he knew.

• 18:37Connor Wood?

I knew David, I knew David Corenswet before Superman. Like we did with Jack Martin.

• 18:43Brooke Averick?

Yeah, but it doesn't count because it was only a one-way no. Like, it's not like he knew me. So he's so much older.

• 18:50Connor Wood?

  There's not a, it's not a non-zero chance that he didn't know you.

• 18:53Brooke Averick?

I think it would be a zero chance because I was thinking about it and I was in fifth grade. I was in fifth grade when he was in eighth and so I was, that's when middle school started for me was fifth. And so we were in the play together. Oh my God. Um, and I was thinking about it and like, I knew every eighth grader when I was in fifth grade, but when I was in eighth grade, I didn't know one fifth grader. You know, you always know like the seniors, but you would never know.

• 19:18Connor Wood?

  Right.

• 19:18Brooke Averick?

Any of the little ones. And I was one of the little ones.

• 19:21Connor Wood?

You were both in the play together and you were probably almost microscopic in fifth grade size wise.

• 19:27Brooke Averick?

  Not, um, horizontally.

• 19:35Brooke Averick?

Like on the X axis, I was not microscopic.

• 19:40Connor Wood?

  Are you saying width?

• 19:41Brooke Averick?

  Yeah.

• 19:44Brooke Averick?

That's what I'm saying. Like vertically, yeah.

• 19:48Connor Wood?

Well, then there's probably some notoriety associated with being so tiny.

• 19:53Brooke Averick?

  No, it wouldn't be that.

• 19:58Brooke Averick?

I was bigger. Does that make sense?

• 20:00Connor Wood?

No, I know, but like I'm saying just height wise, I'd be like, look at that little tiny girl.

• 20:06Brooke Averick?

I don't think that was the biggest thought.

• 20:10Brooke Averick?

  But.

• 20:10Connor Wood?

  You don't, you're, you're, you're making a leap in the opposite direction.

• 20:14Brooke Averick?

No, he doesn't know who I am, but I mean, I really love the guy. I've been watching all of his interviews. And his, his passion for Star Wars is so contagious. And you know, I love a man with passion.

• 20:29Connor Wood?

  Right.

• 20:29Brooke Averick?

Yeah. It just like really moves me that he's talking about Star Wars in every interview and that's not what he's promoting.

• 20:37Brooke Averick?

  Like at all.

• 20:38Connor Wood?

  Almost adjacent to, to Superman.

• 21:41Connor Wood?

Um, it's funny. I used to go to Star Wars every time it came out. We'd have a sleepover and we'd all go see the new movie.

• 21:49Brooke Averick?

Oh, I really want to get into something like that. Where Lord of the Rings.

• 21:54Connor Wood?

There just isn't something like that anymore that's coming out in series that isn't Marvel. And Marvel already has their base. It's nice to be a part of something at ground zero. Like, I started re-watching Pirates of the Caribbean last week. And it is such a cinematic masterpiece. The acting is obviously insane. All the characters are so perfectly developed. But also, it's almost slapsticky.

• 22:28Brooke Averick?

Yeah, and you know what? I think that's why I could never get on board with it.

• 22:32Connor Wood?

Oh, I adore Pirates of the Caribbean.

• 22:35Brooke Averick?

Yeah, that one, I never could get into it.

• 22:38Connor Wood?

  Wow.

• 22:38Brooke Averick?

I tried hard, too. Wanted to be one of the cool girls.

• 22:41Connor Wood?

My community is out there somewhere, Pirates of the Caribbean fanbase, like I am one with you.

• 22:46Brooke Averick?

No, I know tons of, tons of them.

• 22:48Connor Wood?

  Really?

• 22:49Brooke Averick?

Yeah, our friend Frankie is like obsessed with pirates.

• 22:52Connor Wood?

  I love it, man.

• 22:54Brooke Averick?

  I get it.

• 22:55Connor Wood?

We talked about that one time and it went so viral and it was actually viral in a bad way.

• 22:59Brooke Averick?

  What did we say?

• 23:00Connor Wood?

Are you can split men into two groups, men that think about the Roman Empire and men that think about pirates? And everyone's like, well, my man thinks about his wife and kids. Listen, like.

• 23:15Connor Wood?

My man thinks about his job. It's like, listen, you can think about pirates at your job, by the way. Like, that's not mutually exclusive.

• 23:23Brooke Averick?

  Yeah.

• 23:24Connor Wood?

You can, two things can be true.

• 23:26Brooke Averick?

I really am in the mood to have everything I've ever said or done be deleted from the internet in like a huge way.

• 23:33Connor Wood?

Yeah. What did you do? What did you, what are you thinking about?

• 23:36Brooke Averick?

I don't know, Connor. I mean, I've just been thinking about things and just, if you could get rid of like two internet moments that you've had, like something you've said on the podcast, whatever, what would they be? Just to get ahead of them, so if they resurface, people know that you don't stand by them.

• 23:54Connor Wood?

A lot of things we've said without the context of like knowing us would be a tough watch, you know? But you do have to know us. And like, that's just something that I have learned to live with. It's like, if you don't like something, I say, that's fine. Like, you don't have to listen to it. Also, like, the people that know us, know us. I don't worry too much about what we've said here. I think internet moment, like, I can't watch my old videos, obviously. Tried to watch my YouTube vlog recently and that was...

• 24:25Brooke Averick?

Oh, I loved your YouTube vlog.

• 24:27Connor Wood?

It was cute. It was really endearing.

• 24:29Brooke Averick?

And I missed for three years you saying vlog coming next, new vlog coming next week.

• 24:34Connor Wood?

  Yeah, me too.

• 24:37Connor Wood?

Probably the next thing I post on YouTube will be like a comedy set, like a full comedy set.

• 24:41Brooke Averick?

I'm sure once you have a new comedy set due, you'll post a vlog.

• 24:44Connor Wood?

  Hundred thousand percent.

• 24:46Brooke Averick?

  Yeah.

• 24:46Connor Wood?

And it's gonna be funny, because like, people are gonna be like, wait, is this the same person? Because I'm like pale as a ghost compared to when I lived in California, like...

• 24:56Connor Wood?

Definitely weight has fluctuated both ways. People are gonna be like, who is this?

• 25:01Brooke Averick?

You look the same, really. You're completely, um, not Benjamin Button, but yeah. Or just somebody who stays the same, rather, even.

• 25:15Connor Wood?

  Who's Benjamin?

• 25:16Brooke Averick?

I was thinking about something I said on the like very early podcast that I was just like, ooh, ooh, like last night when I was falling asleep.

• 25:24Connor Wood?

  Yeah.

• 25:25Brooke Averick?

I was, when I was like not understanding like long COVID. You remember that?

• 25:33Brooke Averick?

And I, cause I was in the long COVID Facebook groups, cause I was like one of the first March 2020 cases. And I was just like not understanding like why people were like posting in the group, these like really intense symptoms. And I was like, y'all need to like go to the doctor. Cause they were typing like, I can't see or hear.

• 25:53Connor Wood?

  Yeah.

• 25:54Brooke Averick?

And I was like, oh my God, go to the hospital. But it really sounded like I was like minimizing long COVID, which I kinda was, and I feel bad. Obviously feel horrible, cause I just didn't know. But I was losing sleep over that last night. But I still do think they should go to the hospital.

• 26:10Connor Wood?

I don't think that anything you said was minimizing long COVID. You were in the group because you were experiencing symptoms.

• 26:16Brooke Averick?

Yeah, but I was experiencing more minor ones, like just like so much hair loss.

• 26:21Connor Wood?

I think if someone's posting in a Facebook group, I'm going blind. They should definitely seek medical help. Like you were, you're right when you say that.

• 26:29Brooke Averick?

I'm going blind and deaf. How are you typing?

• 26:33Connor Wood?

Also, like, some of the stuff would be like, hey, I woke up and all my hair fell out. You need to go to the hospital.

• 26:41Brooke Averick?

That's what I was saying, but now I feel really bad. Cause it, oh, and then there was this one time, this I don't feel bad about at all. This was just like insane. I think this was the most insane comment I've ever gotten was when I was, I was on obsessed. And I was saying that like I used to just wear ACE bandages, just cause I was like desperate for, for any sort of attention. And someone commented and was like, wow, like, think about people who really need ACE bandages. And like you are taking from their supply and like this is just everything that's wrong with the world. And that was a comment that I was just like, whoa.

• 27:18Connor Wood?

I think that was the episode where I said, kindly, just like, you're not gonna like anything we say moving forward. Like, if you're upset about the Ace Bandage, just like, I wanna assure you, this is not gonna be something you enjoy listening to long term.

• 27:33Brooke Averick?

And also, I did, I was wearing the same piece of reused fabric over and over and over again. The piece of shriveled, like, disgusting Ace Bandage, but anyway.

• 27:49Connor Wood?

That was the episode I said I tried to break my arm, so I could get a cast.

• 27:52Brooke Averick?

  No, this was obsessed.

• 27:55Connor Wood?

No, I remember we talked about this, because we both got these comments. It was like, you attention-seeking freaks, like.

• 28:00Brooke Averick?

Like, yeah, we have a podcast.

• 28:04Brooke Averick?

  Of course.

• 28:05Connor Wood?

We don't really like to be perceived, or looked at, or listened to at all.

• 28:10Brooke Averick?

Can you see my, like, my dick print through the screen? I'm wearing linen pants.

• 28:16Connor Wood?

What's going on with, how does that never go, like, how have they not invented pants that don't look like you have a constant boner?

• 28:23Brooke Averick?

  I don't know, Connor. I really don't.

• 28:26Connor Wood?

I posted an Instagram story this weekend, and people were like, oh my god. Oh my god, really, wow. Well, they were, yeah, and I was like, guys, like, you really think I'd post a story with my boner? I have before, on BeReal. Just kidding. That was just a normal penis.

• 28:45Brooke Averick?

Just, that was just flaccid. Thank you.

• 28:48Connor Wood?

Yeah, actually, now that I said that, I'm like, I totally would accidentally post my penis, but like, it was just my jeans, y'all.

• 28:56Brooke Averick?

  It's just your pants tent.

• 28:57Connor Wood?

Just my jeans that I got from the store.

• 29:03Brooke Averick?

  Thanks.

• 29:06Brooke Averick?

You need to watch the show too much.

• 29:09Connor Wood?

  I am watching it.

• 29:10Brooke Averick?

  Oh, are you loving it?

• 29:12Connor Wood?

Yeah, I really like it. Meg Salters is a star.

• 29:14Brooke Averick?

She is truly the funniest person in the entire world.

• 29:22Connor Wood?

I have something, something to say. What do you think about her counterpart? The, the young man that she's having an affair?

• 29:29Brooke Averick?

  I like him.

• 29:31Connor Wood?

Um, it's throwing me off so much. That's the same guy from White Lotus.

• 29:35Brooke Averick?

Versatile. He's giving me like, I'm almost like, did you study like? Parts of Matty Healy? Like, he's like, like, kind of like dirty in a way that I care for. Which is the opposite of his White Lotus character. His accent's crazy.

• 29:53Connor Wood?

It is crazy. I can't believe Lena, Lena Dunham wrote this show.

• 29:57Brooke Averick?

  Damn can she write.

• 29:59Connor Wood?

I know, it's so good. And it's so real. These are the shows that I really like where like, you can tell that there's lines written, but the way that they're getting to the end of the scenes. It was just like, here's what, here's the point that needs to get across in the scene. Just get there.

• 30:16Brooke Averick?

  Yeah.

• 30:17Connor Wood?

Lines aren't super important and like, you know, like, it's very conversational and they're kind of like, there's murmurs like during the scenes, which I like.

• 30:24Brooke Averick?

Yeah. Like they'll cut each other off too.

• 30:27Connor Wood?

  Yeah. I love that.

• 30:28Brooke Averick?

  Yeah.

• 30:29Connor Wood?

  That's how Girls was.

• 30:30Brooke Averick?

Yeah. And even like the first episode, like at the end, when he like walks in with the dog and like, there's music playing in the back and she's in the bath. Like that reminded me of like Bridget Jones, like an early rom com.

• 30:41Connor Wood?

  Bridget Jones.

• 30:43Brooke Averick?

Yeah. I really like it. I'm really, I'm not done yet, but.

• 30:48Connor Wood?

I'm not, I'm only on episode three.

• 30:50Brooke Averick?

  I'm loving it.

• 30:52Connor Wood?

Yeah, it's really good. Speaking of, I put a TV in my bedroom for the first time in my life.

• 30:55Brooke Averick?

I've been wanting to do that too. How's it going?

• 30:58Connor Wood?

Did I, did I talk about this already?

• 31:01Brooke Averick?

  No.

• 31:02Connor Wood?

So this bitch is up and.

• 31:04Brooke Averick?

It's also hard to say what we talk about. I think we're starting to talk about the same thing.

• 31:08Connor Wood?

I know. When we talked about Big Tooth last week, people are like, you guys had this exact verbatim conversation. And I was like, you know what?

• 31:16Brooke Averick?

To me, there's no difference between what I'm saying in my head and what I'm saying out loud. So I don't know what, what's been said out loud.

• 31:22Connor Wood?

  Also, I don't remember yesterday.

• 31:26Brooke Averick?

  Good point.

• 31:26Connor Wood?

Like, how am I supposed to remember having a conversation about Big Tooth?

• 31:29Brooke Averick?

  Yeah.

• 31:33Connor Wood?

So, put the TV up, it's up and running. I did talk about this.

• 31:41Connor Wood?

  Cause I said I watched-

• 31:41Brooke Averick?

  Hey man, I wouldn't know.

• 31:43Connor Wood?

I watched, no wait, I didn't talk about this. Okay, sorry. I got it. So like, I can't figure out how to change the channel yet, but, so it's been on Desperate Housewives. I think that they're like really-

• 31:53Brooke Averick?

  Fabulous show.

• 31:54Connor Wood?

I think that they're really pumping out Desperate Housewives right now on whatever, uh, streamer it's on. Cause it won't, it's, it's been just like playing after whatever show.

• 32:05Brooke Averick?

Are you just like on cable?

• 32:07Connor Wood?

I might be just on cable.

• 32:09Brooke Averick?

You might just be on cable.

• 32:11Connor Wood?

I might just be on cable.

• 32:12Brooke Averick?

  Yeah.

• 32:12Connor Wood?

But it is playing, no, it's, no, cause it's playing in like, this episode's over, this one's playing in 30 seconds. So it's definitely on a streamer. But the remote won't work or something, I can't figure it out. But I'll tell you what.

• 32:24Connor Wood?

I, I'm scared of who this next version of myself I'm gonna become because I'm getting, I'm not even turning on my white noise machine anymore. I'm, I'm falling asleep to the sound and, and the radiation of a TV. You know, this is the first time in my entire life I've had a TV in my bedroom. Ever.

• 32:40Brooke Averick?

Yeah. I haven't either, except when I was a kid.

• 32:45Brooke Averick?

And I needed one, or I convinced myself that I would be sick. Which made sense.

• 32:52Connor Wood?

Never had one. I don't know.

• 32:53Brooke Averick?

If I wasn't falling asleep to the sound of TV.

• 32:57Brooke Averick?

I was always falling asleep to the sound of George Lopez.

• 33:00Connor Wood?

Dun, duh, dun, dun, dun. Dun, dun. Um, yeah, no, I never had one. I was trying to, I'm trying, I'm trying, I'm trying.

• 33:08Brooke Averick?

  I try to say goodbye.

• 33:10Connor Wood?

Goodbye and I choke. Try to walk away and I stumble.

• 33:15Brooke Averick?

  That's a good one.

• 33:17Connor Wood?

Yeah, though I try to hide it, it's clear.

• 33:19Brooke Averick?

Wait, freeze. Don't say anything more.

• 33:23Brooke Averick?

What are the next words? Don't tell me. I know it's. I, I.

• 33:28Connor Wood?

I got it. I already have it.

• 33:30Brooke Averick?

Want to say. I blow bubbles when you're not here, but that can't be it.

• 33:36Connor Wood?

It's not. You have two words, right?

• 33:39Brooke Averick?

  What are the words?

• 33:40Connor Wood?

  I have four words, right?

• 33:41Brooke Averick?

What are, but what are the real words?

• 33:43Connor Wood?

  When you are not here.

• 33:44Brooke Averick?

Yeah. What happens when you're not here?

• 33:47Connor Wood?

  Her world crumbles.

• 33:49Brooke Averick?

  Wow.

• 33:50Connor Wood?

My world crumbles when you are not there.

• 33:52Brooke Averick?

That makes, that makes a lot more sense.

• 33:55Connor Wood?

  Yep.

• 33:56Brooke Averick?

  Than bubbles.

• 33:58Connor Wood?

Who is that? Tony something, right?

• 34:01Brooke Averick?

Hmm. I don't know. I don't know why I thought it was TLC.

• 34:04Connor Wood?

  No.

• 34:08Connor Wood?

  That's a fabulous song. See, that's.

• 34:10Brooke Averick?

  Macy. Macy Gray.

• 34:13Connor Wood?

  That's, um, that's oldies.

• 34:15Brooke Averick?

  No, I wouldn't even say that's oldies.

• 34:19Connor Wood?

You know what's crazy? You know, we were talking about last week, how the song, Hey There, Delilah, is oldies?

• 34:25Brooke Averick?

  Yeah.

• 34:25Connor Wood?

Did you know someone listening to a song today that came out in 1995? Is the same as someone in 1995, listening to a song from 1965?

• 34:38Brooke Averick?

Don't tell me shit like that.

• 34:42Connor Wood?

Like, what? The 60s? Like shit was, that was like the Cold War. Ooh, don't quote me on that.

• 34:51Brooke Averick?

  No, you're right.

• 34:53Connor Wood?

  When was the Cold War?

• 34:59Connor Wood?

Siri just like absolutely not getting a damn that I'm recording a podcast.

• 35:02Brooke Averick?

  I'm pretty sure you're right.

• 35:03Connor Wood?

Take your time, queen, please. I got, I got all day.

• 35:08Brooke Averick?

I, I'm telling you right now, you're right.

• 35:11Connor Wood?

I'm having a day built for Albert Einstein.

• 35:19Connor Wood?

I might come up with an equation later.

• 35:21Brooke Averick?

It's a day for success. Was Albert Einstein the one that I was thinking looked like my grandpa?

• 35:26Connor Wood?

I could definitely see that. I could also see a young Albert Einstein being someone that you

• 35:31Brooke Averick?

  Was Albert Einstein Jewish?

• 35:35Connor Wood?

  Einstein sounds

• 35:36Brooke Averick?

It does. Yeah, German Jewish family.

• 35:41Connor Wood?

Um, I could see a young Albert Einstein being someone that you would fall head over heels for.

• 35:47Brooke Averick?

Connor, you know what new show is coming out? I don't know if you do. Or I definitely told you at one point, but I'm sure you forget.

• 35:54Connor Wood?

  No, I know.

• 35:55Brooke Averick?

  There's a show coming out.

• 35:56Connor Wood?

  I know exactly.

• 35:57Brooke Averick?

  What am I gonna say?

• 36:00Connor Wood?

  Larry David?

• 36:00Brooke Averick?

No, that's not what I'm gonna say. What I'm gonna tell you is that there's a show coming out where Albert Einstein's great grandson, uh, solves murder cases. Who plays him?

• 36:16Connor Wood?

Matthew Gagubler. That's exciting. That's not a show I watch.

• 36:19Brooke Averick?

  Yeah, me too Connor.

• 36:21Connor Wood?

  That's a good combo.

• 36:22Brooke Averick?

Uh, I don't want to talk much about it, but he does have a girlfriend that's younger than me and that's all I want to talk. That's all I want to say and I want to move on right now.

• 36:31Connor Wood?

  Okay.

• 36:32Brooke Averick?

  Thanks.

• 36:33Connor Wood?

There's also a show coming out that like, my dream date, cute. It's Larry David. I'm gonna just kind of read the headline so I don't botch it. This is such a goddamn joke from God, like.

• 36:46Brooke Averick?

  No, it's a God twink.

• 36:49Connor Wood?

It is. It's something that, what did you say?

• 36:53Brooke Averick?

It's a God twink. Like a God wink.

• 36:59Connor Wood?

Okay, Larry David sets HBO return after Curb with American history sketch comedy show? You're joking.

• 37:06Brooke Averick?

I know. I agree that you have to be joking me.

• 37:09Connor Wood?

  You have to be joking.

• 37:10Brooke Averick?

  I agree.

• 37:11Connor Wood?

This is, like, it's not even written in the stars for me. This is like, this is like written, this is like, this is like Jordan Sparks tattoo I'll always have you. Like, this is gonna be, this is so up my alley, like I'm getting hit with a, with a bowling ball.

• 37:28Brooke Averick?

I agree that this, this, if I could like make a show in a lab for you.

• 37:32Connor Wood?

No, but it's almost like, it's, it's, it's freaking me out like in a bad way. Like, it's like, it's way too, it's way too on the nose.

• 37:41Brooke Averick?

  Yeah, I understand that.

• 37:42Connor Wood?

The, the way that I, one, obviously Curb, enough sad. Two, obviously Larry David. Three, drunk, drunk history, love history, just in general, that's insane. Sketch comedy show.

• 37:54Brooke Averick?

  I know.

• 37:55Connor Wood?

Sketch comedy show. Balls to the wall.

• 37:59Brooke Averick?

It's almost so on the nose that it's like, will it be good?

• 38:02Connor Wood?

There was something else you sent me too, that we talked about like, two weeks ago and immediately it, it happened.

• 38:08Brooke Averick?

Uh, they released the, that on and on, take, uh, take me away from Freaky Friday.

• 38:16Connor Wood?

Brooke, someone's listening to the podcast.

• 38:18Brooke Averick?

They needed on Spotify, they've released, I don't think they put it on Spotify, but they did release a new version of it.

• 38:23Connor Wood?

Okay, whoever is listening to the podcast that like very clearly values things that we say, like, speak up. Like, use your voice. Tell us that, tell us that we got that on the streaming services. Like, we, we love little accolades like that.

• 38:38Brooke Averick?

  Yeah.

• 38:40Connor Wood?

So clearly, that's so clearly, that's so clearly another W for B and C.

• 38:45Brooke Averick?

I have to tell you something.

• 38:47Connor Wood?

  What?

• 38:48Brooke Averick?

I really like, everyone is thinking this, but I think it too. I really do think Daisy's it, uh, by Justin Bieber, from the album Swag, is the best song I've ever heard.

• 39:00Connor Wood?

  It's...

• 39:01Brooke Averick?

  It's a perfect song.

• 39:03Connor Wood?

  It's fabulous.

• 39:04Brooke Averick?

It's a perfect song. And there are so few songs that I listen to the first time. All songs sound the same to me pretty much when I listen to it for the first time. I'm just like, that's a bunch of words. This song stood out to me right away.

• 39:16Connor Wood?

It's fabulous. I had the same thought.

• 39:18Brooke Averick?

  Yeah.

• 39:19Connor Wood?

And I never hated the album. I, I'm like, that's my kind of music. I love McGee. Like, he's the one that produced the whole album. That's like his vibe. Um, I was kind of expecting that when I heard. Now, Sexy Red on that one song, what is it, Sweet Spot?

• 39:36Brooke Averick?

I don't know, cause I've only been listening to my big three.

• 39:38Connor Wood?

There's one where it's just like such a great ballad by JB, and Sexy Red comes in. The vibe immediately switches, but there's one specific line, that is, that is a little bit poetic to me. She says, um, "Put the dick up in my ass, make my heart stop." Now that, obviously, like, that will live.

• 40:03Connor Wood?

  For so long.

• 40:06Connor Wood?

It being in the song changes the whole like, it's like you're vibing and then all of a sudden you're like, where am I?

• 40:14Brooke Averick?

Yeah, it almost makes your heart stop, doesn't it?

• 40:16Connor Wood?

It did, it made my heart skip a beat.

• 40:20Connor Wood?

  Shakespeare could never.

• 40:22Brooke Averick?

  No, he couldn't.

• 40:23Connor Wood?

Could you imagine like, in today's, in today's world, Shakespeare and Sexy Red could very much like collab on something and you'd be like, what could I compare thee to?

• 40:34Brooke Averick?

You know Shakespeare was probably a woman.

• 40:38Connor Wood?

Hold that thought. So I mean, still regardless, what could I compare thee to? A dick up in my ass, maybe?

• 40:48Brooke Averick?

  Yeah.

• 40:48Connor Wood?

One that makes my heart stop and they would high five and they would walk out and the studio would be up in flames because of that heat.

• 40:57Brooke Averick?

Um, I have to listen to that one. I've only been listening to Daisy's Go Baby.

• 41:03Connor Wood?

  Go Babies.

• 41:04Brooke Averick?

Go baby, go baby, go. And what's the other one I love? Something about going on a walk.

• 41:10Connor Wood?

  Love going on a walk.

• 41:11Brooke Averick?

  Walking away.

• 41:14Brooke Averick?

  Kind of goes like that.

• 41:17Brooke Averick?

Yeah, I really, I really like the big three that I had just mentioned.

• 42:49Connor Wood?

I like the big three of finance companies.

• 42:52Brooke Averick?

Let me see if I can name them.

• 42:54Connor Wood?

  Okay.

• 42:54Brooke Averick?

  Goldman Sachs.

• 42:56Connor Wood?

  Yep.

• 42:57Brooke Averick?

  Ernst & Young.

• 42:58Connor Wood?

  And Morgan Wallen.

• 43:01Connor Wood?

  Stanley.

• 43:02Brooke Averick?

I wouldn't have gotten that one.

• 43:03Connor Wood?

  Morgan Stanley.

• 43:06Connor Wood?

  Um.

• 43:08Connor Wood?

  Oh, I have some.

• 43:10Brooke Averick?

Oh, I have to tell you something. I remember what I had to tell you.

• 43:12Connor Wood?

  Okay, hit me.

• 43:13Brooke Averick?

This is the worst thing ever. I was up at like 3:00 in the morning. Oh, by the way, Rob has tapeworms. Goes without saying.

• 43:22Connor Wood?

Jesus, Rob. What was, what was he up to pre-

• 43:25Brooke Averick?

He ate fleas. But they don't have, the boys don't have fleas. So I don't know where he got them.

• 43:31Connor Wood?

Well, there's a lot of fleas in the pound.

• 43:33Brooke Averick?

I mean, I'm like, are we still dealing with stuff? I thought I got him, I've taken him to the vet truly 18 times since the, the big scare. I'm like, I thought we have gotten everything, but no.

• 43:46Connor Wood?

  Man.

• 43:47Brooke Averick?

It took me a really long time to take his poop in, that's why.

• 43:50Connor Wood?

Oh, you should have seen me take Max's poop. That was such a horrible evening for me. Cause obviously Max was like, "Sorry y'all. We've actually not talked about poop in a long time." So just like-

• 44:01Brooke Averick?

It's fine if it's animal poop.

• 44:03Connor Wood?

Yeah. It was when he was, it's, it's, it's when he was in his squirt era and um, he had squirted and I had to get that into a little tube and bring it in.

• 44:14Brooke Averick?

Doing it with cats is so easy because it's just like a little thing, a turd in litter already.

• 44:19Connor Wood?

Oh, mine was on someone's rim of their tire. So I had to, while they're, while they're probably in the vicinity, I had to do it. And Max obviously like, didn't want to be next to his poop that he just shot with a insane velocity at someone's rim. And I'm scraping it off their tire, trying to find a water bottle, just like squirt it. I just like, that's a bad night for me.

• 44:42Brooke Averick?

Yeah, no, it's never a good day when you have to collect your pet stool sample. Let me just say that.

• 44:48Connor Wood?

But it's gonna, it always gets better. It's, it's always darkest before the.

• 44:54Brooke Averick?

Listen to what I'm, I was wanting to tell you. Did you know that Annabelle, the like haunted doll from The Conjuring is real?

• 45:02Connor Wood?

  Is real?

• 45:03Brooke Averick?

  Is, is a real doll.

• 45:05Connor Wood?

Yeah, I, I heard that guy died.

• 45:07Brooke Averick?

Yeah. So I had no idea that Annabelle was a cursed Raggedy Ann doll that was possessed by the spirit of a dead six-year-old girl.

• 45:18Brooke Averick?

Who was literally, she would literally slash people. She would stand in the hallways when her owners got home. She would slash people with her mind.

• 45:28Brooke Averick?

  And I believe this.

• 45:31Connor Wood?

  Like.

• 45:32Brooke Averick?

Everyone was saying, everyone was in agreement that came across Annabelle.

• 45:36Connor Wood?

  But.

• 45:38Brooke Averick?

It wasn't just like it was a few people that were like, this doll's crazy. She was passed around and everyone was like, she's slashing me.

• 45:45Connor Wood?

  I don't think.

• 45:45Brooke Averick?

  She's standing up.

• 45:47Connor Wood?

So confusing that we wouldn't just burn something like that.

• 45:50Brooke Averick?

So I don't know. She's in the museum. She was recently on a press tour or something like that.

• 45:55Connor Wood?

And she didn't want to do a Brooke and Connor? That's, that's cool. Oh, interesting. Didn't want to do Brooke and Connor. Okay.

• 46:01Brooke Averick?

She was recently on a tour, a press tour with this guy and the guy just died.

• 46:08Connor Wood?

  What did he die from?

• 46:10Brooke Averick?

The autopsy is not back, but he just died.

• 46:14Connor Wood?

I could see this being like some, some freak that's just like obsessed with horror being like, I'm gonna kill him. And then I'll just act like it was the doll.

• 46:22Brooke Averick?

You mean, you think he was poisoned? There were no signs of foul play.

• 46:28Connor Wood?

I'm sure there weren't because Netflix has a lot of money.

• 46:30Brooke Averick?

I, I like, I don't know why I'm not usually like this. I believe in this doll. And I would be very hesitant if I were you to question her. She's just out there. That's so crazy to me. I had no idea she was real.

• 46:46Connor Wood?

  What?

• 46:50Connor Wood?

  Why did she hate him?

• 46:52Brooke Averick?

She is a malevolent spirit. She's filled with hate.

• 46:56Connor Wood?

Oh, that is so disappointing. She should talk to my therapist.

• 46:59Brooke Averick?

Her first owners wanted to keep her. But they were like, we're fine if, if she wants to like be alive in a spirit. But the issue was that she was malevolent.

• 47:11Connor Wood?

Oh, it's always malevolency. And you know what sucks? She shouldn't talk to my therapist because you know what he would tell her?

• 47:17Brooke Averick?

  Just do it. Yeah.

• 47:19Connor Wood?

I assume like that's where we've gotten. But I, I, I wait. So, so was the spirit that the doll is haunted by was a real young woman?

• 47:28Brooke Averick?

Yeah, a young girl that had died.

• 47:31Connor Wood?

What did this young woman die from?

• 47:33Brooke Averick?

  That's a good question.

• 47:34Connor Wood?

  It's a truthful question too.

• 47:35Brooke Averick?

It's a truthful question. I'm just, I think it's crazy that it was a Raggedy Ann doll. I expected it to be like a more like niche.

• 47:45Connor Wood?

But isn't this, this Raggedy Ann, isn't she like life size for some reason?

• 47:49Brooke Averick?

No, I don't think she's life size. Okay. Annabelle is a character. Yeah. I don't know.

• 47:54Connor Wood?

Okay. Well, it's okay to give up.

• 47:56Brooke Averick?

  Yeah, I agree.

• 47:57Connor Wood?

I don't really want to talk about a malevolent spirit as to like close out the podcast today.

• 48:02Brooke Averick?

But like, whoa, isn't that wild?

• 48:06Connor Wood?

It makes me uncomfortable. Obviously this is like a developing story. I wonder if he like choked on a grape or something, you know, and then we're just gonna be like, okay.

• 48:12Brooke Averick?

Like you could tell that at the scene.

• 48:16Connor Wood?

If he choked on a grape.

• 48:17Brooke Averick?

Yeah, they have not, his like heart just gave out.

• 48:19Connor Wood?

You know that that's something I think about almost probably several times a week. Um, is like if I choked in my apartment by myself, like I'm just dead.

• 48:29Brooke Averick?

I have been choking at least 16 times a day and sometimes while on FaceTime with my mom. And she's like freaks out because I've been getting, uh, the miracle garlic noodles from Air One.

• 48:45Brooke Averick?

And they're so chewy and they get stuck right in the middle of my throat. And I have to just sit there for a while, like, like, you know, like, con, like, pulling them. No, not like that, but like, you know, when you're like pulling something back up?

• 49:00Connor Wood?

  Yeah.

• 49:01Brooke Averick?

I keep having to do that with the Miracle Garlic Noodles and sometimes it's like quite the scene. And there was one time where I was like, it's, this is, it's not coming back up.

• 49:09Connor Wood?

This is the end. Oh, Brooke, to do the autopsy and be like, it was the Miracle Gar- Garlic Noodles from heroin.

• 49:14Brooke Averick?

They would have been able to tell, I think, like, from their initial search that he had a garlic noodle stuck in his throat.

• 49:20Connor Wood?

  I'm talking about yours.

• 49:21Brooke Averick?

  Oh, yeah.

• 49:22Connor Wood?

Yeah, that would be disappointing. It is something I think about. Brooke, we need to learn the Heimlich, like, because you can do self Heimlich.

• 49:26Brooke Averick?

It's so crazy that we don't all know CPR. And even when I was CPR certified from health class, I didn't know it. I knew it for five seconds when I had to do the test. Like, that should be how you, like, check into homeroom every morning, is like, do CPR on the person next to you. And then go, you can go to class.

• 49:46Connor Wood?

Yeah, I agree. Who was your health teacher?

• 49:50Brooke Averick?

All of them were gym teachers slash coaches in some capacity. I wonder why that is like the obvious answer.

• 49:59Connor Wood?

Because they exercise probably, like regularly.

• 50:02Brooke Averick?

But like, what qualifies them to be doing like sex ed?

• 50:06Connor Wood?

Because they've probably had sex. It's so mind blowing to me, like, that will, that will always blow my mind that I was probably, I'm probably the same age as the teacher that was like coaching and telling me about sex.

• 50:20Brooke Averick?

I have, there have been so many, I, I don't want to talk about it, actually.

• 50:24Connor Wood?

Could you imagine telling a, a, a person that was, let me think how old I was when we did sex ed. Thirteen, could you imagine telling a thirteen year old, like, explaining

• 50:34Connor Wood?

erections and like, wearing a condom and, uh, per- like, periods?

• 50:42Brooke Averick?

I would be fine doing the, like, period and stuff like that and puberty, I'd be fine with. I would not feel comfortable talking about sex.

• 50:51Connor Wood?

That was the funniest day of. All of grade school for me was just like, we are giggle shits. Like, it was the funniest thing. Like, we kinda all, I think we all knew what it was. And I think that they had given us the talk like way too late. Cause I remember going in and being like, oh my God, like they're not about to talk about this, right? Like, we know.

• 51:12Brooke Averick?

Oh, no, we got it in like 4th grade.

• 51:14Connor Wood?

Yeah, I think ours was like 6th.

• 51:16Brooke Averick?

  Yeah, it's late.

• 51:17Connor Wood?

So it was, it was late. Like, people were definitely giving handies by then, which is gross.

• 51:22Brooke Averick?

That's young. I was still kissing my Zac Efron posters.

• 51:27Connor Wood?

Yeah, I know. I think that that was happening way too early in

• 51:30Brooke Averick?

  In Texas.

• 51:31Connor Wood?

My school. But that's just like how the cookie was fingered, you know?

• 51:38Brooke Averick?

Yes, exactly, I do know. Did you have a question box in health class?

• 51:43Connor Wood?

Um, not that I know. Probably, now that I think about it. Was it like an anonymous?

• 51:48Brooke Averick?

Yeah. So you didn't have to be embarrassed while I was asking?

• 51:52Connor Wood?

Why? What, did something happen with yours?

• 51:54Brooke Averick?

No, I mean, I must've just put like 16 questions in there per class.

• 51:58Connor Wood?

  Per sash?

• 51:59Brooke Averick?

  Yeah, very curious.

• 52:02Connor Wood?

So I posted a thing that was like a question box on B and C that said, um, tell me something that you didn't, that you didn't understand and now it's way too late or you're way too embarrassed to like ask or like tell other people that you don't get?

• 52:17Brooke Averick?

That's a really good question, Connor.

• 52:19Connor Wood?

Thanks. I was really racking my brain last night, couldn't think of anything. I said, I'll just think about this while I fall asleep. Fell asleep, woke up, was like, this is a good one. Now, we're all very much like using the same, we're all on the same train of thought. Ever, it was, it was funny and also crazy how many people were like, my job. Like, I don't know what I do. I don't know how. And like, when I think about that, it's so weird to look back at like my 6 weeks of my job or like 3 months I've gone by my job. And I was like, what have I been doing?

• 52:50Brooke Averick?

  Yeah.

• 52:52Connor Wood?

Even though I was doing it, like dated, I'm in the office every single day, 8 a.m. to 6. What have I been up to? What do I tell my parents I've been doing? How did I get this job?

• 53:03Brooke Averick?

  Yeah.

• 53:03Connor Wood?

Where am I? Who are you people?

• 53:07Connor Wood?

Um, no one understands their job. Now, somewhere, somewhere interesting. One young man asked, what's up with the labia minora? I don't know.

• 53:19Brooke Averick?

What do you mean, what's up with them?

• 53:20Connor Wood?

I don't know how, yeah, I don't, I'm confused by that question. Um.

• 53:25Brooke Averick?

How about you tell us, Connor?

• 53:28Connor Wood?

I don't like the need, we, we don't have enough time.

• 53:33Brooke Averick?

  I think we do.

• 53:35Connor Wood?

I don't know, man. And then two young women, back to back, said, honestly, the female anatomy, I'm 27 and I have no idea where the clit is. And the next one was, I'm a woman and I don't understand the anatomy of my body, like uterus and all.

• 53:51Brooke Averick?

I can understand not understanding the internals. The external, it's like, just like, go look in a mirror.

• 54:01Connor Wood?

Um, okay, let me think. Someone said, I recently learned I should be changing my sheets. I'm 23.

• 54:09Brooke Averick?

Yeah, that, that I'm wondering how that one slipped through the cracks.

• 54:12Connor Wood?

  And I have no idea, I don't know. I, I can't get a read on this person.

• 54:18Brooke Averick?

I understand making the conscious effort not to.

• 54:22Brooke Averick?

But like, I don't understand not knowing that it's something you should be doing.

• 54:28Connor Wood?

Yeah, that would, that calls into question for me. What else don't you know? Cause that's kind of like a base layer. Are you washing your towels?

• 54:37Brooke Averick?

Yeah, how many uses do you get out of your towels before you wash them? And do you believe they're self-cleaning? Yeah.

• 54:44Connor Wood?

  You believe they're self-cleaning?

• 54:45Brooke Averick?

  I'm asking if you believe they're self-cleaning.

• 54:47Connor Wood?

No, I don't. I have all of my like, linens are all white. So the second, there's any like, or if I've used them a handful of times, I have enough towels where like, I'm never, I swap enough and then once they're all, they've all been used, I, I do a load.

• 55:10Brooke Averick?

I would say I use mine maybe three times each.

• 55:13Connor Wood?

Yeah, I probably about the same.

• 55:14Brooke Averick?

  Okay.

• 55:16Connor Wood?

Um. Cause I like them to be very crisp white.

• 55:19Brooke Averick?

They just become eternally damp after like the third use.

• 55:24Connor Wood?

I, I don't like my bathroom in my apartment. That's the only qualm I have with my apartment besides some other stuff. Um, and

• 55:33Connor Wood?

  there's no, there's no like.

• 55:34Brooke Averick?

I'm gonna start saying that. That's the only qualm I have, except for some other things.

• 55:40Connor Wood?

Yeah, I have an issue that like all the AC units are in the window. And because of that, the windows open. And I just found out that because the windows open and it's so hot outside, that the same window that the AC is blowing into is also, it's pumping in hot air too from the, it's coming up their vent. And those are just like open to the outside. And I can't figure out why in my apartment all day unless I'm showering, I am a little sweaty. My AC's on 68 right now.

• 56:11Brooke Averick?

Yeah, um, window units can be tough.

• 56:15Connor Wood?

  Yeah, I'm, I just like, I don't know if they're broken.

• 56:19Brooke Averick?

It's hard for me to say.

• 56:20Connor Wood?

Yeah, I don't know either. Maybe you should come check them out. For me.

• 56:25Brooke Averick?

  I'll fly over.

• 56:26Connor Wood?

Um, I was driving by, someone asked, how do boats float? I don't know. I was driving by the Intrepid, which is that giant ship that no longer is in service, but you can go get on it and stuff, I think, in New York.

• 56:39Brooke Averick?

  Okay.

• 56:40Connor Wood?

It's massive. It's made out of metal. I've said this about planes. Well, because it's hollow inside that it can float?

• 56:47Brooke Averick?

I don't like, truly not my realm of expertise. It, the fact that the Royal Caribbean, um, tranquility of the seas is floating. I don't, I'll never understand it. There's a theme park on there. Like, how are you floating in the middle of the sea?

• 57:08Connor Wood?

  We're pushing it.

• 57:09Brooke Averick?

Like, I do not, it's just something that I'm fine, like, I don't understand it. I'm fine not understanding it. But in elementary school, did you ever do those experiments? When you like just have random materials and you have to figure out what floats and doesn't?

• 57:20Connor Wood?

  Yeah, that was fun.

• 57:21Brooke Averick?

That was really fun. I would still get a kick out of that.

• 57:26Connor Wood?

Building small replicas of stuff, like we had, we had a water park project. I don't know what lesson that was being taught there.

• 57:32Brooke Averick?

What was your water park project?

• 57:34Connor Wood?

Like where we had to build slides and stuff, but at a small scale.

• 57:39Connor Wood?

And I loved it because I made the water. I thought to make the water out of hot glue and I filled up a pool with hot glue and it looked like water and there's little people swimming in it.

• 57:47Brooke Averick?

  Oh, that's so creative.

• 57:49Connor Wood?

Thanks. I was good at stuff like that. It's weird. Like, I don't remember any part of my childhood, but I remember one project me and my dad worked on. I got Benjamin Franklin. And when you opened my project, Benjamin Franklin was over here and he had a string and the string was attached over here. And the key was on it. The lightning struck. His kite was over here, but it like, you pulled it open and the string was like up in the air with, it was cool.

• 58:17Brooke Averick?

  Wow.

• 58:17Connor Wood?

I don't understand what I meant by that now. I can't have care.

• 58:19Brooke Averick?

No, but I just like know you were one of those kids that always had like a great like diorama.

• 58:24Connor Wood?

I love that stuff. Like, I wish that, I wish I was in a class right now where like, hey, you have a project due at the end of the week. You need to make a, you need to make a little thing.

• 58:34Brooke Averick?

I can't stress enough how I was the opposite of that. We had this like science project where we had to make some sort of like food that resembled a cell. And like people came in with like cakes and like the inside was like, uh, like ball of chocolate that was the nucleus and like all these like crazy food things. And I came in with a tortilla with an olive attached in the middle with a toothpick.

• 59:07Brooke Averick?

I could not get it together.

• 59:10Connor Wood?

  That's so funny.

• 59:11Brooke Averick?

Uh, and then we had the state project too, where everyone got a state.

• 59:16Brooke Averick?

And you had to make like some sort of project based on your state and people had these like gorgeous like clay sculptures or like, I don't know, just like really cool stuff. And I had Nebraska and I drew in permanent marker, uh, corn on a shirt and wore.

• 59:36Brooke Averick?

Like, I literally don't have that part of my brain intact.

• 59:43Connor Wood?

  That's in, I wouldn't, I wouldn't, I wouldn't peg you as that.

• 59:46Brooke Averick?

I know, it's so weird. I couldn't do projects like that, creative projects.

• 59:52Connor Wood?

Oh my gosh, and I'm so project branded.

• 59:54Brooke Averick?

Yeah, I'm like, give me a book report, give me a poster board. Like, I loved poster boards.

• 1:00:00Connor Wood?

But not like, like 3D projects besides. And I know people are gonna be like, oh, you liked projects, like do a pottery glass, do paint and sip. I don't want it to be like everyone's doing the same thing. I want a challenge. I'm competitive. Like, I do want to kick someone's ass. With my solar system diorama. Like, I want to win. Like, it's like, I will figure out a way to be creative. I want a level playing field to start, but I want to blow the shit out of the water.

• 1:00:27Brooke Averick?

I love that. I love that energy.

• 1:00:31Connor Wood?

It's fun. Oh my gosh, I just got like fired up.

• 1:00:33Brooke Averick?

That would be really fun to do like an adult science fair.

• 1:00:37Connor Wood?

A science fair? Like, serve like alcohol infused cocktails?

• 1:00:41Brooke Averick?

  Yeah.

• 1:00:42Connor Wood?

And like you walk around through a auditorium or a gym? And it's like someone has the volcano?

• 1:00:49Brooke Averick?

  Yeah.

• 1:00:49Connor Wood?

And someone has like the ant farm? And someone has like, other, gravity, I don't know. And you like, see how they demonstrate all these things?

• 1:01:02Brooke Averick?

Yeah, that would be really fun to do as a group of adults.

• 1:01:05Connor Wood?

What is that, that thing that like is on and on, the Ruth Bader Ginsburg machine or whatever? Where you drop a marble and it just like goes and goes and goes?

• 1:01:12Brooke Averick?

I see it in my mind's eye. I don't have the name for it. But I want you to know, I see it.

• 1:01:19Connor Wood?

Okay, you hear me, you see me.

• 1:01:20Brooke Averick?

  Yeah.

• 1:01:21Connor Wood?

Okay, someone said, I don't get digital storage. No, you have to get behind me. It is, yeah, well, it's, the cloud is one thing, but also like, I don't get how, like, am I gonna be paying for storage? Additional storage for the rest of my life? You know, like, I keep running out. Are they gonna keep making like bigger amounts of storage? I'm not gonna delete old photos.

• 1:01:41Brooke Averick?

They are gonna keep doing that. I think that's a money grab.

• 1:01:45Connor Wood?

I mean, it's I'll pay it indefinitely. That's like storage. That's like, because some photos are worth more than physical objects you have in your storage unit right now, you know?

• 1:01:56Brooke Averick?

  Yeah.

• 1:01:57Connor Wood?

And videos. It's like people's whole childhoods. Oh, that would be so scary like. Obviously, probably first, yeah, definitely first world problems here. But like, could you imagine if? Like, Google Drive or something got hacked and like, they just still, they just wiped everyone's.

• 1:02:16Connor Wood?

Photos from like. Since we started taking photos on iPhones.

• 1:02:20Brooke Averick?

Still be doing photo albums. Like physical ones.

• 1:02:23Connor Wood?

Still be printing, yeah, printing and saving. That would also like.

• 1:02:28Connor Wood?

Help clean up on, because you couldn't print sixteen of the same photo. You'd pick one.

• 1:02:33Brooke Averick?

  Here's something I don't understand.

• 1:02:35Connor Wood?

  Okay.

• 1:02:36Brooke Averick?

Why are there like so few copies of eBooks? At libraries? Like, you have to get on a waitlist to check out an eBook.

• 1:02:48Connor Wood?

  That I can't answer because I didn't know that.

• 1:02:50Brooke Averick?

Yeah, and it's like, sorry, it's the copy's out right now. We'll let you know when it's back. Just like, just like, send me another one.

• 1:02:58Connor Wood?

The library purchases it? And they're like loaning.

• 1:03:03Brooke Averick?

Yeah, I guess it's just like intellectual property that they purchased. But just copy and paste.

• 1:03:09Connor Wood?

Yeah, did you know I was so cheap in college? And I was out of iPhone storage that I would borrow someone's textbook and I would take like, a picture of every single page for every chapter.

• 1:03:20Brooke Averick?

  I think that makes sense.

• 1:03:22Connor Wood?

For that test and I would study by zooming in on an iPhone screen and reading it like that.

• 1:03:28Brooke Averick?

  Yeah.

• 1:03:30Connor Wood?

And I was probably saving like twenty eight dollars.

• 1:03:32Brooke Averick?

  Yeah, that's. Makes sense.

• 1:03:35Connor Wood?

I was just, not that I was so cheap, I was just so broke.

• 1:03:37Brooke Averick?

  Yeah.

• 1:03:37Connor Wood?

  But.

• 1:03:40Connor Wood?

I still have all those photos in my. Sometimes I scroll and I was like, why is, they're like seventeen scrolls of like, just pages of a book and I was like, oh.

• 1:03:50Brooke Averick?

  Fun memories.

• 1:03:51Connor Wood?

Geography. That's sweet, calculus. That I failed.

• 1:03:56Brooke Averick?

I don't think I ever made it to calculus.

• 1:03:59Connor Wood?

It was the hardest class I took in college. They passed me too. And I was like, it was my, I think it was my third time taking it. And the professor just like knew me by name. I tried so hard to pass. And I think she was just like, ah, you cannot come back. Like, it's too sad. And I think she passed me because of that. And it's like, what if I would have graduated with an engineering degree? And I built a bridge and then people died. That'd be your fault, professor. Cause I did not deserve to pass this class.

• 1:04:28Brooke Averick?

Were you on track to be an engineer at that point?

• 1:04:31Connor Wood?

  Oh, God, yeah.

• 1:04:35Connor Wood?

I shouldn't have been, but yeah, I was.

• 1:04:37Brooke Averick?

No, I believe in, I guess I believe in failing people.

• 1:04:42Connor Wood?

Yeah, they should, people should fail.

• 1:04:44Brooke Averick?

  Yeah.

• 1:04:45Connor Wood?

Not everyone is cut out to pass. I wasn't. Okay. I don't understand how a microwave can cook something that usually takes 30 minutes in the oven in two minutes. This is something that I've thought about for a long time. My mom's like hypersensitive to stuff like this. Like, I remember there was one point where she was like, we're not using the microwave anymore.

• 1:05:06Brooke Averick?

  Cause it like nukes it.

• 1:05:08Connor Wood?

It like nukes it. But it's crazy that these people like the Make America Healthy Again people haven't like been like, we're actually not doing microwaves anymore.

• 1:05:19Brooke Averick?

A lot of people aren't doing microwaves.

• 1:05:21Connor Wood?

  Really?

• 1:05:21Brooke Averick?

  Yeah.

• 1:05:22Connor Wood?

Oh, this hasn't come across my desk.

• 1:05:23Brooke Averick?

Yeah. Oh, there's a lot of anti-microwave stuff going around.

• 1:05:28Connor Wood?

Wow. Well, now it will because we said it out loud. But like, I'm a little bit wary of microwaves. Like, we do kind of blindly trust microwaves.

• 1:05:35Brooke Averick?

Things do taste better when they come from the oven.

• 1:05:40Connor Wood?

  Yeah.

• 1:05:40Brooke Averick?

Like when you have like a frozen mac and cheese and it's like you can do two minutes in the microwave or 30 minutes in the oven. It will taste better if you do 30 minutes in the oven. I'm gonna do the two minutes in the microwave.

• 1:05:51Connor Wood?

I know. I think that I, yeah, I do envy people that are like, no, I can wait.

• 1:05:55Brooke Averick?

Yeah, no, yeah, that's not on, that's not in my.

• 1:05:58Connor Wood?

Enjoy my food. I will say I got like a Ninja microwave oven thing. It's like this big. And I've been using it. It is so superior to both the microwave and my normal, uh, I almost called it a stick and poke, my normal air fryer.

• 1:06:17Brooke Averick?

How'd you get stick and poke?

• 1:06:19Connor Wood?

I have no idea how my brain does anything. But I love it so much. It's been really tickling my...

• 1:06:27Brooke Averick?

  Really serving you.

• 1:06:28Connor Wood?

  Tickling my...body.

• 1:06:31Brooke Averick?

Alright man, well, we can do the rest in the bone.

• 1:06:33Connor Wood?

  Okay, we can do that.

• 1:06:35Brooke Averick?

It was really nice talking to you and, uh, hope to just talk to you again soon.

• 1:06:40Connor Wood?

Yeah, that would be special. I'll consider it in about 10 minutes.

• 1:06:44Brooke Averick?

  Okay.

• 1:06:45Connor Wood?

Okay, see you soon. Thank you guys for listening. Um, let me take a little word to the to the folks out there at home.

• 1:07:00Connor Wood?

  Namaste.

• 1:07:03Connor Wood?

Yeah, take that with you. Okay. Bye guys, we'll see you in the bonus. Thank you.
