Oh, for f*** sake, that's insane. That's so much money.

• 0:07Speaker 01

  And it's all gone.

• 0:08Caleb Hammer?

  Why the f***?

• 0:08Speaker 01

  Ex-husband military, ex-fiance one d***o streamer.

• 0:12Caleb Hammer?

  Oh, gotcha.

• 0:13Speaker 01

  Ex-fiance two cheater.

Hi, my name is Olivia. I'm 31 years old. I live in New Orleans, Louisiana, and this is Financial Audit.

• 0:36Caleb Hammer?

She zoomed through that intro, just like she zoomed on over to Austin. Thanks for being here. What do you do for a living over there in New Orleans?

• 0:44Speaker 01

  I'm a paralegal.

• 0:45Caleb Hammer?

  Paralegal?

• 0:45Speaker 01

  Mm-hmm.

• 0:46Caleb Hammer?

Hmm. Could be a lot of time, not a lot of money, depending. Okay, what are you making?

• 0:51Speaker 01

  $50,000 a year.

• 0:52Caleb Hammer?

Okay, decent. New Orleans. I don't know the cost of living in New Orleans. I do know it's a declining city population-wise. Uh, so that usually means it stretches a little further. How do you feel living in New Orleans on $50,000 a year?

• 1:04Speaker 01

Comfortable. Definitely, um, I can pay for all of the things that I need to pay for. I just... I can pay for the things I need to pay for, and some of the things I want to pay for, and a lot of the things I shouldn't be buying.

• 1:18Caleb Hammer?

So comfortable is, uh, they can pay advances?

• 1:21Speaker 01

  Yeah. Wait, wait, pay advances?

• 1:24Caleb Hammer?

  She doesn't even know. Wonderful.

• 1:26Speaker 01

What do you mean pay advances?

• 1:27Caleb Hammer?

We'll get into that. Good. I was curious. That's why I wanted to... Kinda wanted to hit that out of the gate, cuz I was like wondering, does she even know? Cuz that just good, sets a good precedent for how the conversation's gonna go.

• 1:37Speaker 01

  Oh, no.

• 1:38Caleb Hammer?

And where your knowledge of your own financial situation is.

• 1:40Speaker 01

Uh-oh. What do you mean pay advances?

• 1:44Caleb Hammer?

  We'll get there.

• 1:44Speaker 01

  Huh, okay.

• 1:47Speaker 01

I'm scared of it now. What?

• 1:51Caleb Hammer?

You, you're actually like that? That just felt really weird.

• 1:54Speaker 01

What do you mean like? I mean weird? Yeah.

• 1:56Caleb Hammer?

Is this how you present yourself?

• 1:57Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 1:57Caleb Hammer?

We don't really know each other, so I just wanna...

• 1:59Speaker 01

I am a very strange human, yeah.

• 2:01Caleb Hammer?

  That's okay, totally good.

• 2:02Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 2:02Caleb Hammer?

I just wanna make sure you're not coming on here and going, "Gooood."

• 2:05Speaker 01

No, no, no. I'm just a strange human.

• 2:07Caleb Hammer?

  Okay.

• 2:08Speaker 01

Don't face at me in that look of tone. I know who I am.

• 2:12Speaker 01

  What?

• 2:16Caleb Hammer?

Uh huh, uh, and so, okay. Fifty thousand dollars in New Orleans. I, you know, you're, we chit chat a little bit before this. I mean, your living situation isn't bad in terms of your monthly expense for the fifty thousand. What hits your account on a monthly basis?

• 2:31Speaker 01

Um, between four and a half and six thousand a month.

• 2:36Caleb Hammer?

Okay, then you should be doing fine unless there's something crazy that I don't know. Four and a half, wait, how does it, how does it vary by a thousand five hundred?

• 2:44Speaker 01

Uh, paralegal is not my only stream of income.

• 2:47Caleb Hammer?

Oh, what else? Okay, well, we bleeped the word because it leads to demonetization, but essentially it's the things that are under the bras get displayed into the internet eyes for money. Okay, you actually do that, and that comes in. And if we talk more about that, unfortunately, it has to be in the post show or else we're demonetized in our YouTube membership. That's what we learned and that's what our, um, people over there have told us to do. So maybe we can talk about that more in the post show, but let's get the income part of it.

• 3:18Speaker 01

I'd say content creation because I do also Twitch stream sometimes.

• 3:21Caleb Hammer?

  You do? Okay.

• 3:25Speaker 01

I was a full-time content creator through COVID and then I dropped off.

• 3:28Caleb Hammer?

A lot of people had the COVID boom in content creation. A lot of people were at home. A lot of people had eyes on screens.

• 3:34Speaker 01

  Yep.

• 3:34Caleb Hammer?

Did you lose it or did you leave it?

• 3:36Speaker 01

  I left.

• 3:37Caleb Hammer?

  Why?

• 3:37Speaker 01

Uh, because I didn't like it.

• 3:39Caleb Hammer?

  Oh.

• 3:40Speaker 01

  I didn't like it.

• 3:41Caleb Hammer?

Why are you doing the uh and the uh? This is Twitch.

• 3:45Speaker 01

  Oh.

• 3:48Caleb Hammer?

Why are you doing both if you didn't like it?

• 3:50Speaker 01

Um, I didn't like it when I had to do it full time, but when it was more of a hobby, it, it's still entertaining. It still provides income and it's low effort.

• 4:01Caleb Hammer?

  The same with the tatties?

• 4:02Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 4:03Caleb Hammer?

  Okay.

• 4:04Speaker 01

I post like once a month and I still rake in pretty good money, so.

• 4:07Caleb Hammer?

Now, this is what I always want to ask. Do you enjoy doing that? Do you like doing that or is it something you feel you have to do? Because whether or not I support it is dependent on that answer.

• 4:16Speaker 01

  Um.

• 4:18Speaker 01

I would say seventy eight percent of the time I enjoy it.

• 4:21Caleb Hammer?

Okay, well, if you enjoy a job, even like a great job, you don't enjoy it a hundred percent of the time. So I will accept that as a I do it because I like it.

• 4:30Speaker 01

  Fair.

• 4:30Caleb Hammer?

So the thousand five hundred hours a month.

• 4:33Speaker 01

  Mm hmm.

• 4:34Caleb Hammer?

Ebsin flows because of those positions? Okay, okay. In this last month, I mean, what do you think came in total?

• 4:42Speaker 01

  Uh.

• 4:42Caleb Hammer?

Across everything, we have some deposits, we got some payroll, we got spicy. Money and Zelle and Cash App.

• 4:51Speaker 01

Yes, so the Zelle is that alternative income.

• 4:54Caleb Hammer?

  Um. More?

• 4:56Speaker 01

No, that was that that is just the alternative income.

• 5:00Caleb Hammer?

I had spicy as eight hundred thirty and then more Zels of an extra five hundred. Why would you get zelled through that unless there is there extra?

• 5:07Speaker 01

  So the.

• 5:08Caleb Hammer?

  Off site spicy's?

• 5:09Speaker 01

No, so I have a business checking account and I zell it to my personal account.

• 5:13Caleb Hammer?

  Okay, so we can.

• 5:14Speaker 01

Yeah, so it might be a little duplicative.

• 5:16Caleb Hammer?

Okay, yep. So how much do you think came in?

• 5:18Speaker 01

  Um.

• 5:19Caleb Hammer?

  Total across everything.

• 5:20Speaker 01

Last month, I would say probably five thousand.

• 5:22Caleb Hammer?

Four thousand. So what is wrong here? Because even with all these incomes added up, we made it to four thousand ninety seven dollars and sixty cents, which is on the low end of your estimate of four thousand to five thousand five hundred. So how are we at the bottom end of the barrel with all these different income streams, which are not insignificant? The spicy was eight thirty eight. That's not bad. Don't see anything for Twitch.

• 5:49Speaker 01

  No, I didn't.

• 5:50Caleb Hammer?

So if this is the bottom of the month, are you sure this is the bottom, bottom, bottom? Or do you make lower than that sometimes?

• 5:55Speaker 01

  No, that's the bottom.

• 5:57Caleb Hammer?

Okay, so I'm gonna, I'm gonna then trust you and say four thousand seven hundred fifty a month.

• 6:04Speaker 01

  Okay.

• 6:04Caleb Hammer?

  On average.

• 6:04Speaker 01

Yeah, yeah, I think that's fair.

• 6:06Caleb Hammer?

Okay, so in general, what do you think you spent?

• 6:12Speaker 01

Probably a little bit more than I bring in, so probably around five.

• 6:16Caleb Hammer?

Oddly enough, no, you actually spent a little less.

• 6:18Speaker 01

  Oh.

• 6:18Caleb Hammer?

Which is weird because I don't know why the money maneuvers that you were making in terms of debt going up, in terms of really dumb stuff were the case. It's extra dumb when people don't have money and there's no money going in and there's no money left to go out. They take these alternative paths through growing debt or having something bounce or anything like that. You didn't have that, though. You didn't have the insignificant money, but you still had the absolute stupidity in the finances.

• 6:47Speaker 01

  Yes.

• 6:49Caleb Hammer?

Why do you think that would be the case, self-assessed?

• 6:51Speaker 01

Money makes me really anxious, because...

• 6:54Caleb Hammer?

Then why are you doing it incorrectly, though? Because when I'm anxious about something, I construct ways in life to avoid the anxiety in certain ways. And your avoidance of money anxiety would be having a fully funded emergency fund, being on track for retirement, making sure you could never be financially, but instead you are doing the and have no preparation whatsoever to avoid being which means if you get into a bad financial situation again like that or manipulative or whatever it might be, you have no escape route. You have no ability to fend for yourself.

• 7:27Speaker 01

Oh, you don't even know the half of it.

• 7:30Caleb Hammer?

What? That's not funny to me. What?

• 7:33Speaker 01

Um, so back when I first got into content creation in the first year and a half, I made almost $200,000.

• 7:41Caleb Hammer?

Oh, for fuck's sake, when was this? It's insane. That's so much money.

• 7:44Speaker 01

That was, uh, the end of 2020.

• 7:49Caleb Hammer?

Yeah. Oh, that's right. Covid content. Okay.

• 7:51Speaker 01

  And it's all gone.

• 7:53Caleb Hammer?

  Oh.

• 7:54Speaker 01

Yeah. I had a financial advisor at the time, but he wasn't really participating.

• 8:01Caleb Hammer?

  You mean he wasn't participating?

• 8:02Speaker 01

So I had, so before I'd gotten him on my team, so to speak, I, um, I was putting aside 30% every time I got a check in for my taxes and everything, and I had it all just sitting and ready to go.

• 8:15Caleb Hammer?

  Built good bones, okay?

• 8:16Speaker 01

  And...

• 8:17Caleb Hammer?

  Not reflected in here, but...

• 8:18Speaker 01

Yeah. And, and he told me that it would be better to use that money to pay off my credit cards because the penalties I would have gotten from my taxes were less than the interest I was making.

• 8:29Caleb Hammer?

I could see his mathematical reasoning on certain things, sure.

• 8:32Speaker 01

  Right.

• 8:33Caleb Hammer?

But IRS is the people we don't typically in my book, but go, go on.

• 8:38Speaker 01

Well, and then the CPA that he hooked me up with, um, filed my 2021 taxes and then kind of stopped responding to my messages. So I haven't filed since.

• 8:51Caleb Hammer?

How is this happening so much on this show? How is this, how are there so many people out there not filing taxes? So 22, 23, and soon to be 24, you have not filed.

• 9:02Caleb Hammer?

Not that you would have for 24 yet, but it's about to be. Really? So two years before you haven't filed? How much money have you brought in? How much money did you bring in in 2023?

• 9:13Speaker 01

  Uh, I think 75,000.

• 9:15Caleb Hammer?

Oh, good. How much for 2022?

• 9:19Speaker 01

  A hundred?

• 9:21Caleb Hammer?

  Oh, good. You're gonna owe.

• 9:23Speaker 01

So much. So much. Yes. Yeah. Well.

• 9:27Caleb Hammer?

I mean, what? 20 to 50, maybe total 20 to 50 depending then.

• 9:30Speaker 01

  Yes.

• 9:31Caleb Hammer?

And then will they, they will add fees. Will they add interest on top of that? What is it? What are they calculating? Have you heard from anyone? Is anyone at the IRS like, oh, hello?

• 9:39Speaker 01

  No.

• 9:41Speaker 01

And in my defense, I have been trying to get them filed. No, no, no. I have contacted three CPAs and they keep stop responding to my messages.

• 9:51Caleb Hammer?

You're gonna sit down with the same financial advisors I use that don't make money. We'll pay for it. You're good. Everyone out there in the audience gets a free session, but we'll pay for your whole thing either way. So.

• 10:02Speaker 01

Oh, yeah. That was the other thing is the first CPA I was working with wanted to charge me $1,200 to file 2022.

• 10:08Caleb Hammer?

I mean, that could make sense. I paid my CPA a lot too. When the more complicated your money gets and the more they can save you, of course, the more they.

• 10:15Speaker 01

  Oh, absolutely. And I was.

• 10:16Caleb Hammer?

I don't know if that's incorrect or bad. You just tried to say that like it was immediately a horrible thing.

• 10:20Speaker 01

No, because I was like, okay, I can pay this. Just send me the engagement letter. It's just, I'm ready to do this. This was halfway through 2023. And I would be like, hey, where is it? And then a month later, hey, where is it? A month later, hey, where is it? And he would just.

• 10:35Caleb Hammer?

That's when, uh, one month later I go get another CPA, by the way.

• 10:39Speaker 01

Yeah. Yeah. I was going through a lot at the time. So.

• 10:43Caleb Hammer?

Is there ever a period, no offense, and again, life is life is life is life. I'm not like trying to diminish it. Has there ever appeared in your life so far where we're not going through something? Cause it sounds like every single year is something else, but but at the same time, the more and more we go through life always. And I've had so many people on the show that have done what you're doing and then do what you're going to continue to do if you go on this path.

• 11:09Caleb Hammer?

This was bad. This was bad. This was bad. So much was going on. So much was going on. So much was going on. So much is going on. If you always use that, never get ahead, never try to be actionable in your way of trying to actually move beyond the life is against me at all times.

• 11:25Speaker 01

  Oh, no.

• 11:25Caleb Hammer?

Then you're gonna end up in the path where you have yourself and you're gonna just make it worse because you're never gonna recover it and the excuse will always be something's going on.

• 11:36Speaker 01

No, I definitely am not in the boat of, oh, my God, my life is so hard for me. It's definitely I've made bad decisions. I've put bad people into my life and let them stay there for way too long.

• 11:46Caleb Hammer?

You haven't paid your taxes in three years. There's a lot of time there to make a move.

• 11:50Speaker 01

Yes. And again, this is I'm now on my third CPA who I've been waiting.

• 11:54Caleb Hammer?

I would have mass emailed a bajillion CPAs. You try three in three years. That's one you try to contact a year. Come on, I can't give you praise for that.

• 12:01Speaker 01

  I know.

• 12:01Caleb Hammer?

I'm sorry. You tried to use that as a good thing, but it can't. There's 12 months. 12 months. You did one out of every 12 months. We can't be like thrilled at ourselves for that. Oh, Pat's on the back there.

• 12:14Speaker 01

  That's fair. No, no, that's that's fair.

• 12:17Caleb Hammer?

They'll take care of your [BLEEP].

• 12:18Speaker 01

  I know.

• 12:19Caleb Hammer?

  They'll come and garnish you.

• 12:20Speaker 01

• 12:53Speaker 01

I, when, no, when I got divorced, I

• 12:56Caleb Hammer?

Divorced? It's like, when were you married?

• 13:00Speaker 01

  When I was 20.

• 13:03Caleb Hammer?

  Well, I don't know.

• 13:04Speaker 01

I've lived a lot of life.

• 13:06Caleb Hammer?

Exactly. Well, that's what I was saying.

• 13:08Speaker 01

I've been divorced and then engaged twice after that.

• 13:10Caleb Hammer?

  Oh, good. What? What? Sims?

• 13:15Speaker 01

Um, so the first engagement was to a now rather large TikTok creator who was wildly abusive, mostly financially. That was when I got into content creation.

• 13:27Caleb Hammer?

He's a big Twitch creator right now?

• 13:29Speaker 01

  Mm-hmm.

• 13:30Caleb Hammer?

  Okay, I'll ask off camera.

• 13:33Speaker 01

Do you want me to say it like now?

• 13:35Caleb Hammer?

  Oh.

• 13:36Speaker 01

Or just like wait for the post? I don't care talking about it. That was half of my content for a year.

• 13:40Caleb Hammer?

  Who?

• 13:41Speaker 01

  Daddy Dido.

• 13:43Caleb Hammer?

  You know him, Jake?

• 13:45Speaker 01

He does a lot of like, oh my god, women are bippity bop boppity, women are property, and I'm so funny, but ooh, woo, I'm like a little beta boy, and tell me I'm a good boy. Um, he's gross.

• 13:58Caleb Hammer?

  I don't know.

• 14:00Speaker 01

  I digress.

• 14:00Caleb Hammer?

What's his name? Slash bippity boppity?

• 14:02Speaker 01

No, Daddy Dido is what he streams under. Um, but no, so he was wildly financially abusive and that's where a lot of-

• 14:12Caleb Hammer?

And he got engaged two more times?

• 14:14Speaker 01

No, that was the, that was the first engagement.

• 14:16Caleb Hammer?

  And he got engaged again?

• 14:18Speaker 01

Yes. To be fair, I didn't know about his crap until I caught him falling in other people, so.

• 14:23Caleb Hammer?

So it was a cheating thing?

• 14:24Speaker 01

  Yeah, yeah.

• 14:26Caleb Hammer?

  Okay.

• 15:03Speaker 01

But anyway, after I got divorced, I had to move back from Italy. I was overseas. He was, he was military, and so I was living in-

• 15:13Caleb Hammer?

  Daddy Diddy?

• 15:13Speaker 01

No, no, no, no, no. This is my, the, this is my, so Daddy Dido's the ex-fiance. Um, my ex-husband and I are actually still pretty tight. He's sweetest guy on the planet, just didn't work out. Um, but when I moved out of Italy-

• 15:26Caleb Hammer?

  The cheater?

• 15:27Speaker 01

  No. That was another ex-fiance.

• 15:29Caleb Hammer?

Oh, I am so lost. I'm so sorry, guys. No, it's okay. It doesn't matter.

• 15:32Speaker 01

  Ex-husband, military.

• 15:34Caleb Hammer?

  Sure.

• 15:34Speaker 01

  Ex-fiance, one Daddy Dido streamer.

• 15:36Caleb Hammer?

  Oh, gotcha.

• 15:37Speaker 01

  Ex-fiance, two cheater. Now, single.

• 15:43Speaker 01

Now avoiding at all costs because apparently I make bad decisions.

• 15:46Caleb Hammer?

I searched daddy ditto and I see nothing on Google.

• 15:49Speaker 01

  Really?

• 15:50Caleb Hammer?

  Are you saying like D I T T O?

• 15:53Speaker 01

  Like ditto like the Pokemon?

• 15:56Speaker 01

  All one word?

• 15:57Caleb Hammer?

That's a lot of followers on Instagram.

• 16:00Speaker 01

Yeah, I wonder where those came from.

• 16:03Caleb Hammer?

What, you're saying he pays for them?

• 16:05Speaker 01

No, no, uh, when, when he and I started dating, he was at-

• 16:08Caleb Hammer?

  I think I've seen clips.

• 16:09Speaker 01

Yeah, when he and I started dating, he was at thirty K on TikTok and when we broke up, he was at two hundred and fifty.

• 16:16Caleb Hammer?

  He looks-

• 16:18Speaker 01

  Gross.

• 16:18Caleb Hammer?

I hate, well, I hate to say, well, I was gonna say, we look a little similar. His beard is a bit more scrappy and I think he has a few more pounds, but I don't look completely different. Well, I don't know. I mean, I, I can't, I honestly can't judge that very well. Okay.

• 16:35Speaker 01

Does not take care of himself. Doesn't let other people take care of him either. Anyway, I digress.

• 16:42Caleb Hammer?

Self-assess. Where do you think your finances are today? Zero to ten, zero being the absolute worst, ten being the absolute best.

• 16:51Speaker 01

  One.

• 16:52Caleb Hammer?

Okay, okay. If you want your Hammer financial score, it's free. See where you are. Check it out, link in the description below. And if you want to come here to Austin, Texas, uh, come on over and talk about your exes with me. I mean, I, I like a good little glass of tea here and there, a little sip, sip, sip. Uh, come on, CalebHammer.com slash reply. We'd be happy to have you. All right.

• 17:11Speaker 01

No, but the good thing, I, so when I got divorced-

• 17:14Caleb Hammer?

Oh, oh, we're back to it.

• 17:15Speaker 01

No, no, no, I didn't finish the story. I got divorced, moved back from Italy, was living off my credit cards and was at twenty-five thousand dollars in credit card debt.

• 17:23Caleb Hammer?

  When was this?

• 17:24Speaker 01

  Uh, twenty nineteen.

• 17:27Caleb Hammer?

  Okay.

• 17:27Speaker 01

And I paid it all off.

• 17:29Caleb Hammer?

  Yeah.

• 17:30Speaker 01

It was at zero. It was completely gone.

• 17:32Caleb Hammer?

  For that.

• 17:33Speaker 01

And then I kept moving and-

• 17:35Caleb Hammer?

Moving? Why are you moving always? You can stream online.

• 17:39Speaker 01

I have, on average, moved once a year, every year since I was like eleven.

• 17:43Caleb Hammer?

Honestly, I've pretty much done that since I was eighteen, but I don't [BLEEP] my finances with it. What do you mean? What, what are you doing? What are you not, you're in New Orleans? Where are you gonna be in like a month?

• 17:53Speaker 01

I would really actually like to stay in New Orleans. I'm in a really good situation. I'm a lot more stable. I have a job I really like, so that, and it's all good things. So I'm hoping to stay in New Orleans for the foreseeable future.

• 18:05Caleb Hammer?

How'd you pay off all that? That does.

• 18:07Speaker 01

Um, I originally got, I had, one of my credit cards had an offer for a balance transfer, zero percent interest for 12 months, zero fee. So I did a few thousand on that and then I did a debt consolidation loan that I paid off. Um, because I paid both of them off within the like allotted timeframe.

• 18:31Caleb Hammer?

Probably didn't change the behavior that got you in there in the first place. Cause usually when people utilize those tools, they didn't change the behavior. And then guess what? Your debt went back up. Who would have thought, right?

• 18:40Speaker 01

I changed some of it, but not all of it.

• 18:43Caleb Hammer?

How many consolidations have you done over the time?

• 18:46Speaker 01

  One.

• 18:47Caleb Hammer?

  I'm being told two.

• 18:48Speaker 01

One instance, it may have been two loans. I don't remember.

• 18:52Caleb Hammer?

  Okay.

• 18:52Speaker 01

But I know it was at one, they, I did all of it at the same time.

• 18:55Caleb Hammer?

All right. I want to get into this card and these cards have little interesting little niblets throughout. Let me tell you. Okay. Amex every day.

• 19:04Speaker 01

  Mm hmm.

• 19:05Caleb Hammer?

We're sitting at a thousand three hundred five dollars again. I mean, your entire rent utilities are six hundred, right? And those you said?

• 19:12Speaker 01

  Eight hundred.

• 19:13Caleb Hammer?

Eight hundred. This is what you told me right before. Okay, cool. Awesome. With the money left over, obviously we need to set some aside for taxes because not all of it is. Um, what is the, is the paralegal contracting or are you doing that as a W two?

• 19:28Speaker 01

  Salary. I'm W two salary.

• 19:30Caleb Hammer?

Barely any money setting aside for taxes for that other kind of income, but.

• 19:34Speaker 01

That was, I was going to say, that's why, that's probably why I overestimated the income is I have them withholding a lot extra for my taxes.

• 19:41Caleb Hammer?

  Oh, do you?

• 19:41Speaker 01

  Yes.

• 19:42Caleb Hammer?

Well, I overestimated your income. I'm asking how much hits your account on a monthly basis?

• 19:45Speaker 01

Right. So I did the math based off of like, like my, my annual salary divided by 12.

• 19:52Caleb Hammer?

You don't know what hits your account on a monthly basis. Cause that's all I was asking.

• 19:56Speaker 01

  No.

• 19:57Caleb Hammer?

What do you mean? Do you not look at your fucking like checking? Do you not? Look at anything that's happening in your accounts.

• 20:03Speaker 01

So I I make sure that I have the money for a purchase before I make a purchase, but other than that, I try.

• 20:09Caleb Hammer?

Do you look at your accounts other than just just literally looking at the number if it's there to make a purchase? And I don't think you do that again, because I have things in here.

• 20:20Caleb Hammer?

You'll see, this is this is suggesting me that you are not informed of your finances anyway. Obviously, you don't make a budget. Do you not make a budget? You've never made a budget? Are you a budget? Do you? There's no budgets or spreadsheet. I don't think there is.

• 20:32Speaker 01

I I have Rocket Money on my phone.

• 20:36Caleb Hammer?

  Great, it's on the phone.

• 20:37Speaker 01

But I don't look at it. You are absolutely right. I I don't. I have. It's I. Okay. Do you play video games?

• 20:43Caleb Hammer?

  Yes.

• 20:44Speaker 01

You know, like when you start the skill tree and it's like real small and you like have a couple of little out shoots as you start to level up.

• 20:51Speaker 01

I haven't leveled up any of my financial skills. I just got like a couple of good ideas and I started with that and I was like, this is fine and it's.

• 20:57Caleb Hammer?

But obviously not. So why the would you continue down that road? When it's not working, you readjust. That's not an answer.

• 21:07Speaker 01

I made it this far and I didn't expect to.

• 21:11Caleb Hammer?

Oh, come on. That's a horrible mindset. What do you mean?

• 21:14Speaker 01

  I really didn't and.

• 21:15Caleb Hammer?

You did not literally think you'd be dead by now. Really?

• 21:22Speaker 01

  Of my teenage years.

• 21:23Caleb Hammer?

Hopeless, but did you think you'd be dead?

• 21:27Speaker 01

  Statistically.

• 21:30Caleb Hammer?

What? No, statistically, you'd be alive. What do you mean?

• 21:32Speaker 01

No, like it's so. Okay. Have you ever heard of the Aces scores? It's the adverse childhood experience score. And I was a psychology major for a minute. Um, but no, so statistically, like teenage women who grow up homeless and have like a certain.

• 21:50Caleb Hammer?

  You were homeless too?

• 21:51Speaker 01

Yeah, for like while I was in high school.

• 21:53Caleb Hammer?

Okay. Yeah, you went through a lot. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I want to focus on your finances today.

• 21:58Speaker 01

I'm still here. So well, and that's part of why like when I paid off of paid off the debt after I was divorced. I like really gave myself a pat on the back and I was like, oh, good. I did it. I don't have to ever look at it ever again. And then I made all of this money doing content creation and I thought I would be fine forever. And I just was kind of, you know, oh, my God, I'm just a girl on my way through life.

• 22:22Speaker 01

And yeah, no, for the last especially six months, I've been really being like, oh, I need to stop paying my life away. So ta-da. Jesse.

• 22:34Caleb Hammer?

Forty-four dollars and then once the payment. Thirty-one dollars of interest. Like this, ah, time and time and time again, I do not know how we were here. Again, you have, you're not unreasonable. You have self-assessed so many different things. You kind of understand relatively where you are in terms of finances. You gave yourself a normal score that actually makes sense for you, even though you don't look at your accounts. What the [bleep] on a card that you could not pay off that you want to pay off, that you make more money than you spend?

• 23:04Speaker 01

The, the face you made was funny.

• 23:07Caleb Hammer?

Why are you spending three hundred three dollars? On it?

• 23:12Speaker 01

  So

• 23:13Caleb Hammer?

Why the possible [bleep]? Especially when thirty-one dollars and forty-three cents of interest is accruing. What are you doing?

• 23:19Speaker 01

So the plan I had for the credit cards was that when I got them all paid off, each one would have a very specific use to maximize the benefits.

• 23:28Caleb Hammer?

You paid them off years ago.

• 23:30Speaker 01

Yes. And my plan was that net

• 23:32Caleb Hammer?

I don't give a [bleep] about that two years ago.

• 23:34Speaker 01

  I know.

• 23:35Caleb Hammer?

Why are you doing this now?

• 23:36Speaker 01

Because I know that I make enough money that I should not be in debt, which is why I started

• 23:41Caleb Hammer?

But it's not working. So why would you continue it? That's what's so confusing. Why would I continue something that's not working?

• 23:47Speaker 01

Cause I've been paying it down.

• 23:49Caleb Hammer?

  No, it went up.

• 23:50Speaker 01

  Six months ago, they

• 23:51Caleb Hammer?

I don't give a [bleep] about six months ago. The balance went up now.

• 23:54Speaker 01

Yes. So the reason I'm still using them is because again, I have a plan for how I want to maximize the usability of it. And I need to pay them off. You are absolutely right. I have a spreadsheet that

• 24:04Caleb Hammer?

  Then pay them off!

• 24:06Speaker 01

  I'm working on it.

• 24:07Caleb Hammer?

No, you're not. It went up.

• 24:09Speaker 01

  I'm making much

• 24:10Caleb Hammer?

You're trying to sound good, but you are not.

• 24:13Speaker 01

  I'm

• 24:13Caleb Hammer?

You're right. You paid more than minimum, but it didn't matter because you still spent more than you paid off.

• 24:19Speaker 01

  Yes. Yes.

• 24:20Caleb Hammer?

You're trying to make it sound better than it actually is, and I'm not going to let you get away with that.

• 24:24Speaker 01

I'm using the tools I have poorly.

• 24:26Caleb Hammer?

You're using cope to try to make us through this conversation. It's all fucking DoorDash. Great. Yeah, let's let that keep us in debt. DoorDash, DoorDash, DoorDash, DoorDash. Touchtunes? Who even is that? And then Touchtunes? Then Netflix? What the fuck is a Touchtune? You got two $25 charges on there.

• 24:47Speaker 01

  $25?

• 24:47Caleb Hammer?

  Help shift?

• 24:48Speaker 01

Oh, I know what Touchtunes is. What?

• 24:53Speaker 01

  What?

• 24:53Caleb Hammer?

  What is it?

• 24:54Speaker 01

Oh, it's a jukebox app that you can play music when you're at bars.

• 25:01Caleb Hammer?

  Costs $25?

• 25:02Speaker 01

No, so you like refill it and it gives you credits.

• 25:05Caleb Hammer?

How much? How often are you there? $50 in jukeboxing? That's the dumbest thing I've heard.

• 25:12Speaker 01

One night I was trolling a bar. It was entertainment. It went in my entertainment.

• 25:16Caleb Hammer?

Dude, you're trolling your finances. You're trolling your life. You're trolling your retirement. You're trolling an emergency fund. You're trolling you're gonna be homeless again because if you this up, you have no fallback if you do lose your housing.

• 25:26Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 25:28Caleb Hammer?

And it's not cute. It's not a little joke.

• 25:30Speaker 01

No, it's not. This is, this is a cope laugh. Absolutely a cope laugh. This is, I am uncomfortable and angry at myself and very disappointed.

• 25:38Caleb Hammer?

I'm disappointed in something I'm doing. I fix it. Again, you know.

• 25:42Speaker 01

Well, some of us have better coping skills. Okay, I'm doing the best I can with what I have to work with.

• 25:47Caleb Hammer?

That's not funny. Again, my thing.

• 25:51Speaker 01

What? Why are you facing at me in that look of tone?

• 25:53Caleb Hammer?

  Cause I don't know, you're a bit odd and.

• 25:57Speaker 01

Did I not start with that? I'm a weird person.

• 25:59Caleb Hammer?

I'm trying to just fucking comprehend it, okay?

• 26:02Speaker 01

  Good luck.

• 26:03Caleb Hammer?

When I'm looking at you, I'm just trying to think. So calm down.

• 26:07Speaker 01

  No.

• 26:07Caleb Hammer?

I was trying to understand like what I'm dealing with, like what kind of creature is in front of me?

• 26:13Speaker 01

Creature of the internet? No, I'm literally here to talk about the finances. Why would I shut up?

• 26:19Caleb Hammer?

Cause it was a moment of silence. We're allowed to have them. It's okay. I was thinking, you'll make it through it.

• 26:25Speaker 01

  Don't hurt yourself.

• 26:29Caleb Hammer?

Why are you being a b**** so?

• 26:31Speaker 01

There's a difference between being a b**** and making snappy jokes.

• 26:36Caleb Hammer?

  You're making jokes?

• 26:37Speaker 01

  Yes.

• 26:37Caleb Hammer?

Because this is a joke, right? Your entire financial future is. Ha ha.

• 26:47Caleb Hammer?

• 27:29Caleb Hammer?

profile looks like and what investing strategies to use based on that. All of this free money is linked in the resources section of the description below, so don't pass up the free money because I'll punch you. Listen, you have late fees on this card.

• 27:43Speaker 01

  Yes.

• 27:46Caleb Hammer?

I always have enough money in my account, she says earlier. Rewind.

• 27:51Speaker 01

No, no, no. The money is there. I just forget to pay it.

• 27:55Caleb Hammer?

Then you can't have credit cards. You're not a credit card person. You don't know how to manage them. Close them. This is not a tool. You don't know what you're doing.

• 28:03Speaker 01

  It was for six months.

• 28:04Caleb Hammer?

But it's not. Six months is nothing.

• 28:06Speaker 01

No, I know. And it's one of those things where it's hard to break a habit, especially when things are.

• 28:10Caleb Hammer?

Close them and you won't have to break it. It'll be taken out of your hands. Close them.

• 28:16Speaker 01

Would it not be better to use the tools the way that they're?

• 28:19Caleb Hammer?

  You don't know how to.

• 28:21Speaker 01

Yes, but that is a skill I can learn.

• 28:23Caleb Hammer?

And if we learn them by proving it with indebted accounts for a while, I will allow you to open a small limit credit card again. Why would I give you access to a nuclear bomb when you can't even handle firing a pistol right now?

• 28:35Speaker 01

I hardly think that credit card is a nuclear bomb.

• 28:38Caleb Hammer?

You're in a situation where money is being pulled from a credit card in a cash advance way that you don't even know about because you don't have enough money in certain accounts to pay for a bill. So yes, you are fucking yourself. You have no retirement. If you get evicted for whatever reason, you lose that roommate situation, you're Yes, this is a nuclear bomb for your life, whether or not you realize it. You're literally having late fees and hundreds of dollars in interest accruing on a credit card that you are not paying off and only allowing the balance to go up. So I don't want to hear it. Don't try to diminish how bad your situation is, or you'll never get the out of it. Cause you don't care.

• 29:14Speaker 01

  No, I do care.

• 29:15Caleb Hammer?

Not with that kind of language and attitude.

• 29:18Speaker 01

I care, just because I'm making bad decisions doesn't mean I don't care.

• 29:21Caleb Hammer?

No, it wasn't just about making bad decisions. You were trying to defend. You're trying to make it seem like it's not as bad. It is, and if you don't realize how bad it is, then what the are we doing? Amazon Chase card.

• 29:35Speaker 01

  Yes.

• 29:36Caleb Hammer?

Two thousand four hundred thirteen dollars and sixty one cents. Seventy nine dollar minimum to pay it. You could use a card many in our audience use like the Fizz card. It's a debit card, so you can only spend what's in your account, but it still builds your credit. You can do that. That's the way to do it. If you want to prove you're a credit card person, that's a good place to start. Cause obviously we're not with this kind of balance. And we're still purchasing on it. Was it less than your payment towards it? Sure, you're still purchasing on it. So we're not making as much progress as possible because guess what? It still takes 11 years to pay off, but you're trying to diminish that with the money you spend on it. And then fifty four dollars and ninety five cents of interest. And also you started above the credit limit, so. Oh, yeah.

• 30:22Caleb Hammer?

  Oh, you betcha.

• 30:23Speaker 01

  How far?

• 30:24Caleb Hammer?

Oh, just about. I'm not mistaken here, it's a bit more on mine, looks about sixty bucks above the credit limit.

• 30:31Speaker 01

  That's good to know. Oops.

• 30:33Caleb Hammer?

  See?

• 30:34Speaker 01

No, you're right. I don't look at it and I need to.

• 30:36Caleb Hammer?

Try to defend this then. You were just again, trying to defend your situation, making it sound like it's not as bad as it really is. You didn't even know you were above the credit limit, okay? And that's why you're not spending more money on this, because guess what? Even with all that, you're only seventy five thousand under the credit limit. Even though, even though compared to what you spent on it, you paid off two hundred twenty five dollars more than you spent on it, but you're only seventy five dollars under the limit.

• 31:04Caleb Hammer?

  Well done.

• 31:04Speaker 01

That one I apparently need to look at because I-

• 31:06Caleb Hammer?

You need to look at all of them. This is not a-

• 31:08Speaker 01

That's fair. That is very fair.

• 31:10Caleb Hammer?

Go, please, please, for fuck's sake, you get them for free. I need you as a guest. But, starting tonight, when you get home, or tomorrow, whenever it is, go through the debt class so you can learn how to manage this debt, understand it, how to consolidate, whatever it might be, whatever tool makes sense for you. They're all bundled together for 15% off now for you guys, but you get it for free, so fuck it, do it. I'll be pissed if you show back up here and you didn't do it, okay?

• 31:42Speaker 01

  I got you.

• 31:42Caleb Hammer?

It's literally access to just free, top-of-the-line education of the stuff that you don't know how to do and you keep fucking up. So, take it.

• 31:50Speaker 01

I will take it, I promise.

• 31:53Caleb Hammer?

It's for fucking Amazon Music and Kindle. Glad, I'm glad we have subscriptions on a card that we can't pay off. I don't know, the card that is accrued...

• 32:02Caleb Hammer?

Oh, what would we say? Well, actually, I don't even know how many of them are late fees or over the credit limit fees, but $200 of fees this year so far. Well done.

• 32:11Speaker 01

I am curious what those fees are. Well, no, because if it's, if it's just late fees, then that means I just need to set my reminders.

• 32:18Caleb Hammer?

If that's only late fees, then you've missed, then you are late every month this year.

• 32:23Speaker 01

Oh, then it can't just be late fees.

• 32:24Caleb Hammer?

Exactly, which is even worse, that you have a mixture of late fees and above-credit-limit fees. That's fucked. That's stupid. That is mismanagement, immaturity, unknowing how to use credit cards as a tool. You just said, "Well, sure enough, I'll be able to have access to the tool." You didn't know you were above the credit limit. So, no, you can't even come close to these. You need to run from credit cards. You are making them so much money and you are getting no benefit from it, because these are all, again, over maxed out, and this one, that last one was pretty close to maxed out. So, that's not benefiting your credit. Your utilization is well beyond 33%.

• 33:00Speaker 01

  Yes. Yes, it is.

• 33:01Caleb Hammer?

So, what are we doing? What kind of tool are you trying to take advantage of? It's taking advantage of you.

• 33:06Speaker 01

Well, the, the plan I had that was working for a long time was the American Express was explicitly for groceries.

• 33:12Caleb Hammer?

  For six months.

• 33:12Speaker 01

  Yes. And then I moved.

• 33:14Caleb Hammer?

You said a long time, so I want to clarify. Six months. Go on.

• 33:19Speaker 01

The, the American Express was exclusively for groceries because I earned triple points and cash back when I used it at grocery stores.

• 33:26Caleb Hammer?

Oh, you got drawn in so hard. Okay, go on.

• 33:29Speaker 01

Well, no, because I have paid for entire bills with that card using those points.

• 33:33Caleb Hammer?

Oh, yeah. And now you've lost magnitude.

• 33:36Speaker 01

  Yes.

• 33:37Caleb Hammer?

Twenty times what benefits you've ever gotten by far, not even close, a hundred times probably, but continue. Your grand strategy that worked for, um, hmm, let's see, let's see, oh, this is, you know, have a little, uh,

• 33:54Caleb Hammer?

  point.

• 33:57Caleb Hammer?

Or one point six percent of your life. Your grand strategy is worth for one point six percent of your life. So go ahead, tell me about this master plan.

• 34:06Speaker 01

The, the Amazon card was exclusively for Amazon purchases and the plan was that every time I would make an Amazon purchase, I would set up my debit account bill pay that I would go in at the end of each week and just send a payment straight to that card. So that way it always had like a zero revolving balance.

• 34:24Caleb Hammer?

  Sounds like a thrilling plan.

• 34:26Speaker 01

And it worked until I moved and fell off of the bandwagon because.

• 34:31Caleb Hammer?

  Six months is nothing.

• 34:32Speaker 01

  Correct.

• 34:33Caleb Hammer?

Anyone can do anything for six months. This is death, causing death. Okay, like behavior discipline stuff, yes.

• 34:41Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 34:41Caleb Hammer?

  Come on.

• 34:41Speaker 01

And, and well, and I know that these habits take time and I know I fell off the bandwagon really hard because.

• 34:47Caleb Hammer?

  When was this?

• 34:48Speaker 01

About a year and a half ago, I think.

• 34:52Caleb Hammer?

So a fourth of the time in the last two years, you did okay.

• 34:55Speaker 01

When I went through one of my breakups and moved. That was that period of time. That was the, the cheater.

• 35:03Caleb Hammer?

Why are you not able to control anything? Because again, if you were using this correctly, if you were using money correctly, you would have had an emergency fund, meaning you would have not gone into debt through a breakup. The cheater makes sense. Stay in the wrong hole. Boom, bye bye. But that doesn't mean you go into debt.

• 35:18Speaker 01

I never really planned for the future.

• 35:22Caleb Hammer?

It's not even planning for the future. That's just making sure you don't get in life. It's not planning for the future because you don't plan for, you don't know what emergencies are gonna happen.

• 35:30Speaker 01

Well, right, but having that 12 month emergency fund is like having.

• 35:33Caleb Hammer?

  Six.

• 35:34Speaker 01

I wouldn't want a 12 month, that would be my goal, but

• 35:36Caleb Hammer?

  Sure.

• 35:37Speaker 01

But having that, having that fallback is like planning for the future and it's funny, I was actually listening to a podcast on the way here. That talked about psychology behind like the way that people spend. And one of the things that they talked about is breaking out of the mindset that like if you grew up poor, that when you get a bunch of money, you are uncomfortable with like holding on to it. I definitely think that that's a big part of why it happened. It's not a good reason for it, but I do think that's part of why it happened. Is because these triggers would happen and I would just be like, oh, no more bandwagon, back into the old habits, back to what's comfortable.

• 36:12Caleb Hammer?

Almost a thousand dollars in interest this year so far on this card alone.

• 36:15Speaker 01

  Ooh.

• 36:17Caleb Hammer?

  Insane.

• 36:18Speaker 01

  Yeah, yeah, no kidding.

• 36:19Caleb Hammer?

  Again, he didn't even know.

• 36:21Speaker 01

  No, I didn't.

• 36:24Caleb Hammer?

Alright Barclays for what? Is this a standard Barclays?

• 36:28Speaker 01

So that was, I originally opened that card when I was in college. I used it to finance my MacBook for school.

• 36:36Caleb Hammer?

  Classic, alright.

• 36:37Speaker 01

I did pay off the MacBook. I didn't get any penalties or interest on it. And then that was the same card that had the balance transfer deal, once I paid off the laptop.

• 36:46Caleb Hammer?

Mm hmm. Cool. Well, you owe a thousand seventy-two on here, the total credit line of a thousand three hundred, so.

• 36:54Speaker 01

It used to be a lot more.

• 36:55Caleb Hammer?

Yeah, I'm glad it's not, because again, you don't know how to manage access to debt.

• 37:03Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 37:04Caleb Hammer?

So I would, I would not want you to have it. Takes six years to pay off with the minimum monthly payment.

• 37:12Caleb Hammer?

  Okay.

• 37:16Caleb Hammer?

There is not a card that we've looked at, that hasn't had basically two hundred dollars in fees this year so far. You keep talking about the six months or you did well. I wouldn't care if you did well for 20 years. If the three cards, the first three cards that I put in no particular order, by the way, the first three cards we looked at all had late fees and above credit limit fees. I would never want you to even look at a credit card again for the rest of your fucking life. That's beyond insane. People on the show fuck up all the time. That doesn't mean they have late fees and above the credit limit fees.

• 37:54Speaker 01

Is that for the whole year?

• 37:55Caleb Hammer?

  Yes.

• 37:56Speaker 01

Okay, so in my defense, this year I moved to Louisiana.

• 38:00Caleb Hammer?

Listen, in my defense, you move every second of your life. So I don't give a that's not a reason anymore. You always move. That is your choice. Moving doesn't mean let's fuck our life, or maybe we wait until we can afford to move. Come on. That's not an excuse. You chose to move to New Orleans.

• 38:17Speaker 01

I was in a dangerous situation.

• 38:18Caleb Hammer?

Oh, my gosh. Oh, my. So we have to move.

• 38:21Speaker 01

  Yes.

• 38:21Caleb Hammer?

  Okay.

• 38:22Speaker 01

  Yes.

• 38:24Caleb Hammer?

• 39:58Speaker 01

And to be fair, in in your defense, I was unemployed when I first moved down.

• 40:04Caleb Hammer?

Okay, so it wasn't just about that, then?

• 40:06Speaker 01

No, it was I took my I dragged my feet finding employment. And then when I did find employment, I.

• 40:12Caleb Hammer?

Can I also ask a question again?

• 40:13Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 40:13Caleb Hammer?

I'm not unsympathetic to anything you've been through. It's just I'm trying to deal with all the things.

• 40:19Speaker 01

  Sorry.

• 40:19Caleb Hammer?

So, no, it's okay. I'm just trying to figure out how it all comes together and it's immediately a difficult perception or not a perception. Well, I guess I can be perceived so. But either way, it's the difficult thing about it is anytime that anything ever you any anything is bad in your finances, it comes down to something else beyond our controls. It's like, what can I do? Then this isn't a conversation that even involves me.

• 40:44Speaker 01

  Right.

• 40:44Caleb Hammer?

  But even still,

• 40:48Caleb Hammer?

why'd you have to move like states and cities? And why does it have to be this massive move that costs thousands beyond thousands of dollars?

• 40:56Speaker 01

I didn't pay for all of the move.

• 40:58Caleb Hammer?

  Well, even worse than.

• 41:00Speaker 01

So, fair. My roommate got out of the military and so he helped pay for that move because we moved in together.

• 41:08Caleb Hammer?

  Then that's worse.

• 41:09Speaker 01

Yes, right. And so, so the first maybe four months of this year, I wasn't doing a lot of content creation because I just didn't want to.

• 41:20Caleb Hammer?

Good, don't do it if you don't want to.

• 41:21Speaker 01

Right, but I wasn't. But I was living beyond my means and.

• 41:25Caleb Hammer?

Well, that's not chill. Why, why didn't you go get a job? Why didn't you pour some coffee? Why didn't you drop some McFries in that grease?

• 41:32Speaker 01

So I was applying to some jobs. I was not putting my best foot forward. I was just kind of holding on until the move because the move was in March.

• 41:42Caleb Hammer?

  Oh, you're talking pre-move.

• 41:43Speaker 01

  Yeah, yeah, pre-move. I wasn't doing a lot of-

• 41:46Caleb Hammer?

What about once you got there?

• 41:48Speaker 01

  Um, dealing with unpacking and-

• 41:51Caleb Hammer?

Oh, come on the f- everyone unpacks when they move.

• 41:54Speaker 01

Well, there was a lot of shuffling around.

• 41:56Caleb Hammer?

I've had a job when I unpacked things.

• 41:58Speaker 01

That's fair. Uh, there was a lot of shuffling around and I didn't prioritize it when I absolutely should have. Um, that is absolutely on me. And yeah, there's just a lot of shuffling around. We ended up moving three times in a few months.

• 42:13Caleb Hammer?

  I don't-

• 42:14Speaker 01

We had a friend we were supposed to move in with and he ended up being a raging douche canoe, so we had to get out of that.

• 42:19Caleb Hammer?

Is there anyone in your life that's not a piece of f- apparently?

• 42:21Speaker 01

  My roommate.

• 42:22Caleb Hammer?

  One person you've ever met?

• 42:24Speaker 01

No, there's a few, but I don't live with them and they don't affect my living situation, so.

• 42:31Speaker 01

Remember when I said I had really bad decision-making skills? It's not just financial.

• 42:35Caleb Hammer?

But it's all not just you, though. You have been in bad situations. That's the hard part. That's the hard part of this conversation is I'm trying to figure out how to navigate it.

• 42:42Speaker 01

Well, the biggest issue for me is that despite all of the things, I do manage to 90% of the time make enough to cover what my-

• 42:52Caleb Hammer?

You made more than you spent.

• 42:53Speaker 01

  Right.

• 42:53Caleb Hammer?

Which makes all this more stupid.

• 42:56Speaker 01

Right. That's the biggest problem, is that I'm just making stupid f- decisions, like not looking at my statements.

• 43:02Caleb Hammer?

  That annoys me to hear.

• 43:03Speaker 01

I'm sorry. It annoys me to be this way.

• 43:06Caleb Hammer?

I'll tell you why. You know this, so why the f- don't you do it? I will never understand. I will never understand. When I, I probably do stupid stuff all the time. It happens. But once I at least realize it, that's when I try to do an action to prevent it. If you're doing something stupid and you don't know, you're just ignorant. That's fine, because you're just ignorant. You're not ignorant to it.

• 43:29Speaker 01

I think I was ignorant to how bad it was because I didn't realize-

• 43:32Caleb Hammer?

  Sure, but you knew, Ben.

• 43:34Speaker 01

I knew it wasn't where I wanted it to be.

• 43:36Caleb Hammer?

So why not try to get it to where you want to be?

• 43:39Speaker 01

I have made little steps. I-

• 43:41Caleb Hammer?

No, your debt has gone up.

• 43:42Speaker 01

Well, I canceled my gym membership that I wasn't using. I have not-

• 43:46Caleb Hammer?

  That's the little steps.

• 43:47Speaker 01

I haven't been ordering out as much as I used to.

• 43:50Caleb Hammer?

The whole first credit card was DoorDash's on a card that went up and bounced.

• 43:55Speaker 01

  Yes.

• 43:56Caleb Hammer?

  Mm-hmm.

• 43:59Caleb Hammer?

Eleven. Furniture and mattress. Thank goodness. Oh, good. We're paying interest on this. Why not? Oh, good. The balance went up. That's wonderful. Because, oh, good. The amount is past due. We're forty-one dollars past due. Ha, ha, ha, ha. Well done. Come on. We're not even, huh?

• 44:14Speaker 01

I forgot again. That was definitely-

• 44:16Caleb Hammer?

This can't, well, auto pay. Have you never heard of auto pay in your life? It is this great new invention that's been around for decades. Are you kidding me?

• 44:22Speaker 01

Auto pay [bleep] me really bad.

• 44:24Caleb Hammer?

You're [bleep] yourself. What do you mean? You're making it much worse than it ever [bleep] you most likely.

• 44:28Speaker 01

  Well, no, because-

• 44:29Caleb Hammer?

What? You got an overdraft of thirty-five bucks once? You're getting charged an extra million, jillion dollars a year!

• 44:34Speaker 01

So the, so for a minute when I wasn't making enough to cover the bills, the auto pay tried four times in two weeks.

• 44:43Caleb Hammer?

  Yeah.

• 44:44Speaker 01

  And-

• 44:44Caleb Hammer?

How'd you not see it after one?

• 44:46Speaker 01

I did. And I tried to tell them to stop pulling it. And they said, oh, well, it's already started. We can't do anything about it.

• 44:52Caleb Hammer?

Why didn't you have the money?

• 44:54Speaker 01

Because I wasn't working when I should have been. And I wasn't working hard enough. This, yes.

• 44:59Caleb Hammer?

And there's nothing to transfer anywhere else?

• 45:01Speaker 01

  No.

• 45:01Caleb Hammer?

  Okay. Okay.

• 45:03Speaker 01

Yeah. That was, and again, that was a hundred percent on me.

• 45:05Caleb Hammer?

  But guess what?

• 45:06Speaker 01

  Yes.

• 45:07Caleb Hammer?

Never have no money in your account again, then you don't have to worry about this. This is pretty basic.

• 45:14Speaker 01

  Yes. And now I don't-

• 45:15Caleb Hammer?

Sometimes it's more complicated than it sounds, but not in this instance. You're [bleep] yourself. And even those four overdraft fees, you're still paying more in fees this year so far than those four. So you're making it worse. You can't forget this. Set yourself a timer. If you don't know how the [bleep] calendar works, set it on auto pay. It's as easy as that. This is basic.

• 45:32Speaker 01

  Yep.

• 45:33Caleb Hammer?

  Great. She agrees.

• 45:34Speaker 01

  I agree.

• 45:35Caleb Hammer?

Isn't she doing it? Great. You could, you could do that and try to get out of this little pushback. You can't just agree, but never do it. That's not how these conversations work. That is a get out. And I don't want you to just get out and then keep going the way you're doing without actually realizing what you're doing is wrong.

• 45:52Speaker 01

No, and that's the biggest problem is that I know what I'm doing and I know that I am [bleep] up and I want to fix it. And I'm finding resources. Hello?

• 46:02Caleb Hammer?

  What?

• 46:02Speaker 01

I'm finding resources to help me learn-

• 46:06Caleb Hammer?

  Me, okay.

• 46:07Speaker 01

Yeah, to like, help me learn how to do the things that I should be doing.

• 46:13Caleb Hammer?

  What resources?

• 46:14Speaker 01

Um, there was a, um, a podcast, I couldn't think of the word, a podcast that I was listening to that was like, teaching about the psychology of money and how to like, reframe the thinking around it.

• 46:27Caleb Hammer?

Are you one of those people that always takes in all the information but never actually does anything in their life? Cause I've worked with people like that as well, where they just read self-help books forever, entrepreneurial books forever, then they never actually do anything in their life and they just endlessly consume the information? Cause that worries me. Cause that is almost everyone I know that goes down that road.

• 46:44Speaker 01

  No.

• 46:44Caleb Hammer?

Instead of the people that actually get out there and do.

• 46:47Speaker 01

I would say I consume it and then I actually end up implementing maybe thirty percent at a time and then I'll go back and redo it.

• 46:53Caleb Hammer?

What has been implemented here? I see a miss payment.

• 46:57Speaker 01

I took it off the auto pay because it was overdrafting the account when I didn't have the money in the account about a year ago.

• 47:02Caleb Hammer?

Okay, it's not a year ago anymore, you have money in the account.

• 47:05Speaker 01

  Yes.

• 47:08Speaker 01

I don't have a better answer for that other than I just haven't put it back on auto. That is almost completely paid off and it will be closed when it's paid off.

• 47:16Caleb Hammer?

I don't know how you pay off a card with zero dollars of payments and forty-one dollars of fees and seven dollars, seven cents, seventy cents of interest.

• 47:23Speaker 01

Oh, it just must have missed by a day or two, cause I, I usually pay more than the minimum balance on that card.

• 47:29Caleb Hammer?

Didn't, and now it's gone up, just like the other cards we've looked at so far, except for one. So, I don't know what you're talking about. U S A A.

• 47:42Caleb Hammer?

Two thousand two hundred eighty-two dollars and eighty-seven cents. Ah, new cash advance is a hundred dollars. Ah, here it is, the special little guy. Hmm, yeah, that's nice, that's nice. We're basically almost at the credit limit, shocker.

• 47:56Speaker 01

What is the cash advance? I didn't know I could do that on that card.

• 47:59Caleb Hammer?

What's your minimum monthly payment normally?

• 48:01Speaker 01

Zero. They literally say zero every time I log in, but I have an Excel sheet that tells me what I should pay.

• 48:08Caleb Hammer?

Thirty-four dollars and eighty-nine cents of interest, what you should pay should be all of it. What do you mean, instead of, what do you mean?

• 48:14Speaker 01

So, the Excel sheet I put together for myself has like, the current balance, the interest rate, and the payment I need to make if I want to pay it off in twelve months.

• 48:21Caleb Hammer?

It's basically twelve months. Well, good luck with that, because with the way you're managing your finances, that's not even coming close to an option. Twelve months from when? Now? It's always gonna be now, twelve months from now, tomorrow will be twelve months from now.

• 48:30Speaker 01

That is the problem I've run into.

• 48:32Caleb Hammer?

Uh huh, which is not cute, but.

• 48:34Speaker 01

  No.

• 48:35Caleb Hammer?

Guess what? You don't have enough money in your USA check in account. So it was true. We took it over.

• 48:44Caleb Hammer?

The cash advance, hundred dollars overdraft protection from your credit card.

• 48:49Speaker 01

That should not be turned on.

• 48:52Caleb Hammer?

  They did it.

• 48:54Speaker 01

Ah, it's gonna be a fun phone call.

• 48:57Caleb Hammer?

Honestly, why would you be entitled to something with the phone call anyway? Because like you did not have the money. It's not your legal ability to spend someone else's money.

• 49:09Speaker 01

No, no, no, no. Not because the it should have been overdrafted, but because the cash advance should have been turned off because I ran into that before. And the cash advances should have been turned off.

• 49:19Caleb Hammer?

Couldn't tell you. All I know is you did not have enough money in your checking account to do something you tried to do, and then you did it. And now you have this gas advance overdraft fee. So regardless, even if you turned it off, you still [__] up major.

• 49:31Speaker 01

Well, and and I don't even have that debit card. Literally the money in that checking account is just for my renters insurance, I think, or my car insurance, one of those.

• 49:41Caleb Hammer?

But one's usually five dollars and another one could be like five hundred dollars. So that's kind of.

• 49:46Speaker 01

I had it bundled for a while and I can't remember if I had canceled one. It was one of the.

• 49:50Caleb Hammer?

Then are we really surprised that the person that doesn't know if it's a five dollar or five hundred dollar charge in there is overdrafting? No, you know nothing about your accounts.

• 49:59Speaker 01

  No, because I had a.

• 49:59Caleb Hammer?

You don't know a single thing.

• 50:00Speaker 01

I had an automatic transfer from my main checking account to that account a week before the payment was supposed to come out.

• 50:06Caleb Hammer?

  We'll just have to see.

• 50:08Speaker 01

Yeah. So I'm not sure. That's why I'm surprised at the cash advance.

• 50:10Caleb Hammer?

You don't have enough money in the account that you transferred from.

• 50:14Caleb Hammer?

Maybe we're overdrafted from an overdraft from an overdraft.

• 50:17Speaker 01

It shouldn't be, but I mean, we'll see.

• 50:18Caleb Hammer?

We'll see. All I know is four hundred dollars in interest this year so far, and you've had a late payment as well.

• 50:23Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 50:23Caleb Hammer?

On this card. Are we shocked that every single card's had a late payment? Because

• 50:26Speaker 01

  Yep.

• 50:27Caleb Hammer?

We're an adult, apparently, in our thirties. Allegedly.

• 50:33Speaker 01

  Oops.

• 50:35Caleb Hammer?

  What?

• 50:36Speaker 01

And just the, the late payments is.

• 50:39Caleb Hammer?

Whoops, late payment whoops, we're in our life, whoops, we don't have retirement, whoops, I move every second of my life and I never do it with an emergency fund and I don't have jobs set up, whoops, what do you mean whoops?

• 50:48Speaker 01

  Once a year.

• 50:49Caleb Hammer?

You kinda, everyone, like, I'm on your side and then all of a sudden you just fuck it, whoops, this is not cute, this is not funny, this is seriously your life, you not understand that.

• 51:00Speaker 01

This is a big old classic copium.

• 51:01Caleb Hammer?

I guess so angry people wonder sometimes because every single time it feels like, or at least 75% of the time, uh, it just feels like I give a shit more about your life and your finances than you do and that rages me because you are a person that exists on this earth and you deserve to live a good life, but it is in your control and you're choosing not to and I can give you an ability of how to get there, but you're like whoops, a cutesy little whoops, fuck your whoops.

• 51:26Speaker 01

That is a whole big dose of copium right there that is me making like because I'm very disappointed in myself.

• 51:33Speaker 01

  Sorry.

• 51:34Caleb Hammer?

Wells Fargo. One thousand five hundred ninety-five dollars and fourteen cents with a minimum monthly payment of fifty-two bucks. Nothing happened here except for interest charging, thirty-five bucks.

• 51:51Caleb Hammer?

  Okay?

• 51:53Caleb Hammer?

Oh gosh, if I see fees that have been charged this year so far, I'm unfortunately actually not gonna be surprised, so it doesn't matter anyway. Well, yeah, basically two hundred dollars of fees, back to our classic rounded nice two hundred, uh, you know, having many late payments, many, many, many late payments because we don't know how to push the button to turn on automatic payments or set a timer or look at a calendar or manage our life or know what's happening in any sense of any account of anything. I wonder how you manage other things, I wonder how you manage your work schedule, I wonder how you manage your friend's schedule, I wonder how you manage anything because you don't know how to manage your financial schedule and this has repercussions that are monetary and you're destroying your entire life, over four hundred dollars of interest, I'd be very curious to see the rest of your life because

• 52:36Caleb Hammer?

right now this is a complete disaster and I don't know how you manage anything else, do you even have a

• 52:42Caleb Hammer?

  envelope anywhere in your house?

• 52:44Speaker 01

  Yes.

• 52:45Caleb Hammer?

  Folder?

• 52:46Speaker 01

  Yes.

• 52:46Caleb Hammer?

Nothing in it, you've never looked at it?

• 52:47Speaker 01

No, I have a filing cabinet.

• 52:49Caleb Hammer?

  Mm-hmm, I'm sure you do.

• 52:50Speaker 01

  I do.

• 52:50Caleb Hammer?

  Oh, I bet there's.

• 52:52Speaker 01

  At least one or two.

• 52:54Caleb Hammer?

We've been late on our student loans. Are you kidding me?

• 52:57Speaker 01

They should be in deferment or forbearance or something, right? I got an email about that two weeks ago.

• 53:01Caleb Hammer?

Past due amount $203. Fuck you.

• 53:04Speaker 01

What? But I've been getting emails that say, no, no, no.

• 53:07Caleb Hammer?

  From who? Spam accounts?

• 53:08Speaker 01

No, from them. And the last time I logged in.

• 53:10Caleb Hammer?

Your regular monthly payment is $46. You don't know what you're talking about.

• 53:13Speaker 01

No, the last time I logged in, it said I had no minimum payment, so I don't.

• 53:17Caleb Hammer?

Your monthly payment is $46, also known as from the statement that you sent us, so.

• 53:22Speaker 01

  That's okay.

• 53:24Caleb Hammer?

  Last payment was

• 53:27Caleb Hammer?

  April.

• 53:29Caleb Hammer?

  That's why you have $200

• 53:33Caleb Hammer?

$249, even though your minimum monthly payment is $46. What a

• 53:37Speaker 01

Well, right, because that's when they told me I owed a payment, because I got an email.

• 53:41Caleb Hammer?

How have you survived? I'm not laughing at you. I'm laughing at just how ridiculous this is. And then how you think it is versus the reality of it is always so polar opposite. You always think something and it is the literal opposite. Every account we look at. This is crazy. I don't know how you've survived to your 30s.

• 54:00Speaker 01

  Carefully.

• 54:02Caleb Hammer?

This is not careful. You don't carefully miss every payment since the fourth month of the year.

• 54:08Speaker 01

Well, and that's what I'm saying.

• 54:08Caleb Hammer?

  That's fucking stumbling.

• 54:10Speaker 01

I got an email saying that I owed a payment, so I went in and I made a payment. And then the next month I logged in and it said I did not owe a payment. And even when I got that statement, it said I had a $0 minimum or zero, $2 payment due.

• 54:21Caleb Hammer?

Maybe that's for a different one. I don't know, but for this you do, okay?

• 54:28Caleb Hammer?

They just got put into save. It looks like they just got put into save. But these are past payments before I entered deferment that you haven't paid. You weren't even paying your bills before. You must have just got put into deferment. And then the deferment in the Save Act is a lot of it's on pause right now because it's being challenged in courts. So regardless.

• 54:45Speaker 01

So they must be old payments.

• 54:46Caleb Hammer?

Old payments from this fucking year! Not that old!

• 54:50Speaker 01

  Well.

• 54:51Caleb Hammer?

Remember you just tried to suggest that you being good for six months was a lifetime? Your payments are from six months ago, so stop! Old payments, for fuck's sake, old payments. You don't know what an old payment is! $50,000 basically in student loans. What did you get a degree in? In law? No, psychology, you said.

• 55:09Speaker 01

And so I changed majors a whole bunch of times.

• 55:12Caleb Hammer?

  How many times?

• 55:14Speaker 01

  Five.

• 55:14Caleb Hammer?

Oh, for, how for how many years?

• 55:17Speaker 01

  Like, seven.

• 55:18Caleb Hammer?

Oh, for sake, okay. And did you graduate after seven?

• 55:22Speaker 01

  Yes.

• 55:23Caleb Hammer?

  Okay, what's your degree?

• 55:24Speaker 01

  Paralegal studies.

• 55:25Caleb Hammer?

Okay, so a bachelor in paralegal studies.

• 55:28Speaker 01

  It's an associate's.

• 55:29Caleb Hammer?

You got an associate's after seven years?

• 55:31Speaker 01

  So.

• 55:32Caleb Hammer?

How many credit hours did you take? This is so much money. Where'd you go to school?

• 55:35Speaker 01

Um, so originally I was at the community college in Southern California and.

• 55:41Caleb Hammer?

That would not get you to forty seven thousand dollars of student loans.

• 55:43Speaker 01

Well, I started when I was in high school and then I, so I was taking those classes. I was a linguistics major. And then I switched to a business school. It was one of those accelerated programs that was supposed to be like eighteen months to a bachelor's degree.

• 55:57Caleb Hammer?

Are you, do you, do you get easily distracted? Are you on to like the next thing after like six, well, you move every fucking two months?

• 56:06Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 56:06Caleb Hammer?

  So you must.

• 56:07Speaker 01

  Yeah, well, no.

• 56:08Caleb Hammer?

This is demonstrated in your life. You're moving, because you move cross-country everywhere. You've been to Italy once. I mean, come on. And then you were moving majors once a year. It's like, I don't think you can sit still. You're on to the next thing constantly. You're on Twitch and you're not Twitch. And then we're ta-tas. And then we are paralegal. It's, we're all over the place.

• 56:25Speaker 01

  Yes.

• 56:26Caleb Hammer?

You can't, and that makes me very nervous because the debt payoff journey is usually a multi-year journey. Get a fully funded emergency fund. And then saving up for retirement is a lifelong journey because it's taking advantage of compound interest and time. Now, you put your money in, you know, my favorite investing account, Mu Mu. Good, that grows. Boom, then I'm able to retire. Wonderful. That's a lifetime thing. You can't just be changing things every nine months.

• 56:47Speaker 01

Well, and again, I did do it once. I, and it took two years.

• 56:50Caleb Hammer?

  Degrees in seven years.

• 56:52Speaker 01

Well, right. So I, I went, I transferred to the business school because all of my credits transferred. All of my credits from the community college transferred to the business school. And I was doing that. It was an accelerated program. And that's when I got married. And the, the semesters were six weeks.

• 57:06Caleb Hammer?

  Okay.

• 57:06Speaker 01

And I told them I needed my books two weeks ahead of time, so I could order them.

• 57:11Caleb Hammer?

  I'm sorry. I, I don't, I don't need the whole thing. I really don't. It's okay.

• 57:14Speaker 01

  Anyway.

• 57:14Caleb Hammer?

  I appreciate it.

• 57:15Speaker 01

Business, tier one planning, and then that didn't work out. Then I was a psychology major, realized I didn't want to get a PhD to make fifty thousand dollars a year. So I did my associate's degree, finished that out.

• 57:26Caleb Hammer?

  Okay, okay.

• 57:27Speaker 01

So I do have a degree, but I, it took me a long time to get there.

• 57:31Caleb Hammer?

Well, it took you a lot of money to get there. That's the most concerning part.

• 57:34Speaker 01

  Yes, it did.

• 57:34Caleb Hammer?

Cause now you owe this. And guess what? Department of Education, gonna get a new person. At this point, it looks like Mahone, I think. One of the co-founders of WWE. I don't, I don't know. I don't know if she wants to forgive you student loans or not.

• 57:52Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 57:52Caleb Hammer?

Who knows if she wants to uphold the save? Plan, you know, a lot of it kind of is up to the Department of Education head.

• 57:58Speaker 01

  Yep.

• 57:59Caleb Hammer?

I don't, who knows what she wants to do?

• 58:01Speaker 01

  Yep.

• 58:02Caleb Hammer?

Girl might come to you and she might say, fuck you. Or she might give you a big hug and forgive your loans. We don't know. It's administration to administration. But I wouldn't bet on it.

• 58:09Speaker 01

  Right.

• 58:11Caleb Hammer?

So why not pay on these? You have the money. We know you have the money. Your needs are relatively minimal. You're just fucking up. You could be paying on these with a higher likely chance that you will have to pay on them. So make progress on them instead of allowing interest to accrue, instead of allowing late payments to accrue. They can garnish your wages. They will come and get you.

• 58:29Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 58:29Caleb Hammer?

  They'll get you.

• 58:30Speaker 01

  Yep.

• 58:31Caleb Hammer?

Hey you, look at me. My job is to sit right here and be the absolute stunning figure that I am. And some things I can't help, like my incredible ass, which is why you're all here, of course. But also some things are in my control. For example, the pearly whites. I yap a lot. Some would say too much, and I get that, but listen. If I'm gonna yap, my teeth may as well look pretty damn good. But the thing is, I drink a lot of coffee to get through the audits. And I started noticing some staining on my teeth. So I've partnered with today's sponsor, Aura Glow, and they've brought back my confidence for continued yap sessions. The reason I prefer them over competitors is because they actually whiten, but they do it sensitivity free.

• 59:15Caleb Hammer?

And that's always been why I can't use these types of products for long due to my sensitive teeth. These teeth whitening strips from Aura Glow are incredible. Make sure to go to Amazon and get the Aura Glow Teeth Whitening Strips. Should have used the link in the description below to make sure your yap sessions can be just as confident as mine with stunning white teeth.

• 59:35Speaker 01

And it's just another set of bad decision-making skills and...

• 59:39Caleb Hammer?

So that's your answer for everything.

• 59:41Speaker 01

The fair amount of it is, well, and

• 59:44Caleb Hammer?

Then what the is gonna change? No offense. What would actually change? Cause that's your answer to anything. Something bad happened or bad decisions. Okay, wonderful. You know, whether or not

• 59:54Speaker 01

  Making better decisions.

• 59:55Caleb Hammer?

But you're not. I have your accounts here. We already have a late payment. You haven't even looked at your student loans. You didn't even know you're late. You probably haven't looked at your credit report. You don't look into your checking account once. We had a cash advance from a credit card because you didn't have enough money in a checking account because you probably didn't redraw the right amount to that other account from another account. You know what you're doing? Better decisions? You've never made a better decision before. So that's can't be true.

• 1:00:19Speaker 01

  It's the start of the

• 1:00:20Caleb Hammer?

  What start?

• 1:00:21Speaker 01

Right. So again, the, the USAA account because it was supposed to be an automatic transfer.

• 1:00:26Caleb Hammer?

No, I understand it, but what start is better decisions? Cause I am not seeing them reflected in the accounts in front of us. So I'm not going to let you get away with that and have a pat on the back thinking you're doing okay. You're doing one of the worst. Your debts are not the worst I've seen on the show. Your behavior and your management of your accounts are some of the worst I've seen in two and a half years of doing this show.

• 1:00:47Speaker 01

  It's, it's

• 1:00:48Caleb Hammer?

So I am not going to let you give yourself a gold star.

• 1:00:51Speaker 01

No, absolutely. It's so the better decisions are when I had the 25,000 in debt. I was literally maxing out all of my cards all of the time. I was only making the minimum payment, which wasn't even enough to cover the interest I was making. And I was late all the time because I never looked at it. These

• 1:01:08Caleb Hammer?

Or you could have paid it all off with your $250,000 in cash that you made, but you decided to blow on what?

• 1:01:15Caleb Hammer?

What, what did you spend the money on?

• 1:01:16Speaker 01

So most, a fair amount of it went to my car. Um, I put

• 1:01:22Caleb Hammer?

  What is it?

• 1:01:23Speaker 01

  It's a Subaru Outback 2020.

• 1:01:25Caleb Hammer?

Is that a 250,000 hour car?

• 1:01:27Speaker 01

No, no. So I put 16,000 down on it and that is paid off.

• 1:01:33Caleb Hammer?

16,250,000. I'm gonna need a little, uh, uh, gap filling. And not like the gap filling that's done in your content.

• 1:01:44Speaker 01

I don't do that kind of content, to be fair. Um, but the, the content creator X did take a lot.

• 1:01:54Caleb Hammer?

Like management? Was he trying to suggest management?

• 1:01:57Speaker 01

Uh, no, it was straight up financial.

• 1:02:00Caleb Hammer?

Am I gonna like have his people like come after me for filming this? Cause I don't know who he is. I can't speak good or bad about him because I just don't know him, but you're trashing him on here.

• 1:02:09Speaker 01

Well, I spent about a year and a half of when I was a full-time content creator. I spent about a year and a half talking about all of this stuff very publicly and both of those accounts got banned.

• 1:02:18Caleb Hammer?

But you're anonymous on here, but to them, you're not going to be anonymous.

• 1:02:22Speaker 01

  I mean, they can.

• 1:02:22Caleb Hammer?

You're using a fake name here, but they know who you are probably, right?

• 1:02:25Speaker 01

I mean, maybe if they still recognize me.

• 1:02:27Caleb Hammer?

  He would.

• 1:02:28Speaker 01

  That's fair.

• 1:02:30Caleb Hammer?

And our clips go pretty viral.

• 1:02:32Speaker 01

I mean, just don't put his name on it. He'll figure, he'll be fine.

• 1:02:35Caleb Hammer?

  You said his name.

• 1:02:37Speaker 01

  Bleep it out.

• 1:02:40Speaker 01

  I'm not wrong.

• 1:02:44Caleb Hammer?

I don't know. I don't know. I don't know him. I, I can't speak good or bad about someone I literally do not know. That's not how I operate. So.

• 1:02:51Speaker 01

  That's fair.

• 1:02:51Caleb Hammer?

But I don't want his people to be like, nah, I killed Hammer because I'm, I don't know.

• 1:02:55Speaker 01

  Well, okay, so.

• 1:02:56Caleb Hammer?

Just because you're coming on here and talking.

• 1:02:58Speaker 01

So of that money, I paid for him to move across the country. I paid, at one point I went through our checking accounts because he accused me of being bad with money and.

• 1:03:10Caleb Hammer?

Hold on, wait, that's not what you said earlier. You said he accused you of stealing. Now you're saying.

• 1:03:15Speaker 01

No, no, no. He accused me of being bad with money. He basically stole the money because, um.

• 1:03:20Caleb Hammer?

Was he saying you couldn't manage it? I feel like this, listen. Hmm, hmm, because I instinctively, my gut, my heart, even though I'm an annoying devil's advocate motherfucker. My heart is to just be like, yes, a hundred percent support. She's a hundred percent right. But I know for a fact, especially based in the internet drama space, and this kind of is that, to be honest. Always a thousand sides to a story.

• 1:03:47Speaker 01

  Oh, always.

• 1:03:47Caleb Hammer?

And so I don't even kind of want to listen to this right now because I just don't want to pretend to have an opinion. Cause I don't know.

• 1:03:57Speaker 01

I can summarize it as that relationship probably costed me about $75,000.

• 1:04:04Speaker 01

I spent $75,000 on that relationship.

• 1:04:08Caleb Hammer?

  It's expensive dick. Okay, so.

• 1:04:11Speaker 01

Not worth. Not worth it. But yeah, so that.

• 1:04:15Caleb Hammer?

Okay, okay, okay. Do you have any more debt?

• 1:04:18Speaker 01

I don't think so. Both of my vehicles are paid off.

• 1:04:22Caleb Hammer?

Both vehicles. I was gonna say, this other one we have at sixteen thousand dollars of value. So good job with there. What's the other vehicle?

• 1:04:28Speaker 01

  A motorcycle Kawasaki.

• 1:04:30Caleb Hammer?

Okay, so probably a few thousand.

• 1:04:32Speaker 01

Uh, like six, I think, is what I looked at it, which I'm trying to sell it.

• 1:04:35Caleb Hammer?

  Sell it, yeah.

• 1:04:36Speaker 01

Cause I don't use it, so.

• 1:04:37Caleb Hammer?

Yeah, dude, that was sort of taking care of some debt. You can't even set it as an option.

• 1:04:42Caleb Hammer?

What we're doing? Okay, mm, okay. PNC Bank. Uh, Any Balance four sixty, that is pretty risky. Ever know when certain things that, oh my, this is all highlighted, which means it's all bull. It's eighty bucks on Amazon, Buttercrisp Diner, Amazon, some, oh, you went inside the market, got something? In post? McDonald's, Barkley Oak? Lots of, what are these Google things? Are these in-app purchases? Are you Android?

• 1:05:16Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 1:05:16Caleb Hammer?

Oh, so that's what it is. It's not Google, it's you buying things or getting subscriptions or something. Fall Fest, ain't any, oh, ain't, ain't, ain't any, any occasion.

• 1:05:30Caleb Hammer?

Brazilian Bites, Brew Pub, Smoke Galore, please don't tell me you're giving yourself cancer.

• 1:05:36Speaker 01

  I don't smoke cigarettes.

• 1:05:37Caleb Hammer?

Great, you know, the other ones are so good. We had someone with a collapsed lung on the show, fun fact, cause she kept vaping. Keep doing that. It'll get you good places. Subscriptions are in-app purchases, McDonald's. Spotify, can't afford to live, but guess what, guys, at least we're ad-free. Comedy, comedy, comedy. Lots of very expensive comedy, and then Voodoo Chicken and Burger King, and Frenchman Art, bow me, go inside and get into the boat from the gas station, Matassa. Panty on a easel.

• 1:06:12Speaker 01

Huh? Well, let me see it. Which one?

• 1:06:15Caleb Hammer?

Crisp Diner, more panty on a easel.

• 1:06:19Speaker 01

  I don't know what you're saying.

• 1:06:20Caleb Hammer?

  One on the bottom.

• 1:06:23Caleb Hammer?

More Pantene Alisal and Pantiana Lisa.

• 1:06:25Speaker 01

Oh, that's probably a Google Play.

• 1:06:29Caleb Hammer?

What are you doing? Cause there's like a million. There's like a 10 more on this next page.

• 1:06:34Speaker 01

  They're little.

• 1:06:35Caleb Hammer?

And then Flamingo Road Farm. Yeah, but what are they is what I'm asking because they're stacking up to like a, like a hundred bucks or something.

• 1:06:40Speaker 01

  Well, Buttercrisp Diners.

• 1:06:41Caleb Hammer?

No, no, no, no, no, no, the Pantene Alisal.

• 1:06:44Speaker 01

  I don't know because I don't recognize.

• 1:06:46Caleb Hammer?

Are you buying gems? Are you a little gem girl? What are you doing?

• 1:06:48Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 1:06:49Caleb Hammer?

  Stop.

• 1:06:49Speaker 01

  I know.

• 1:06:52Speaker 01

I was dopamine seeking last month. It was really bad.

• 1:06:56Caleb Hammer?

  It's not cute.

• 1:06:57Speaker 01

I know it's not cute, but it was really, really not fun.

• 1:07:03Caleb Hammer?

Go to a park in the sun.

• 1:07:06Speaker 01

Do you see how pale I am? I'm translucent. I sunburn in like 45 seconds.

• 1:07:11Caleb Hammer?

Oh, that's interesting. We've never invented sunscreen before.

• 1:07:14Speaker 01

I wear sunscreen. I still sunburn.

• 1:07:16Caleb Hammer?

  Wear stronger sunscreen.

• 1:07:18Speaker 01

  I wear SPF 75.

• 1:07:19Caleb Hammer?

I have the whitest creature that's ever been born in this office. Her scalp burns the moment she steps outside. Like, I get it. She's a ginger. She's a disgrace to society. I understand what it's like. It's like go everywhere with her and then she melts. Okay? So you can go outside. Venmo, Venmo, Venmo, Venmo, Venmo, Venmo, Venmo, Venmo. Great. Who are you Venmoing? Venmoing everyone in life.

• 1:07:45Speaker 01

  My roommate, probably.

• 1:07:49Caleb Hammer?

Yeah, yeah. A hundred dollars, a hundred dollars on your little in-app.

• 1:07:56Caleb Hammer?

More P and C. Thousand dollars in this one. So that's actually.

• 1:07:59Speaker 01

Yeah. So the, this one is my debit card account where I do my spending. That one is also a checking account, but that's where I do all of my bills out of.

• 1:08:09Caleb Hammer?

  Why overcomplicate it?

• 1:08:11Speaker 01

  I, so that's.

• 1:08:11Caleb Hammer?

If you literally just have a budget, you don't need more than one account.

• 1:08:16Speaker 01

  Yeah, I don't have a good.

• 1:08:17Caleb Hammer?

  Look where it's ending.

• 1:08:18Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 1:08:18Caleb Hammer?

  Look where it's leaving us.

• 1:08:19Speaker 01

I, I thought having it separated like this. So if I kept all of my money in that account.

• 1:08:23Caleb Hammer?

  When did you think that?

• 1:08:24Speaker 01

  About two years ago.

• 1:08:26Caleb Hammer?

  Wonderful. How have we been?

• 1:08:28Speaker 01

It was great and now it is not great.

• 1:08:30Caleb Hammer?

For six months, for a fourth of the time. So maybe not a good statistical average to go for. So potentially we don't can do the thing that's not working. So it's a crazy concept.

• 1:08:40Speaker 01

  If it did work, then.

• 1:08:42Caleb Hammer?

But it's not. It didn't work 75% of the time. Why the would I bet on the 25? What are you talking about?

• 1:08:49Speaker 01

Because if I go back to the habits I had.

• 1:08:51Caleb Hammer?

It's worked 25% of the time since you tried to start. So it's not working.

• 1:08:57Speaker 01

  Well, right.

• 1:08:58Caleb Hammer?

Guys, what am I dealing with here?

• 1:09:00Speaker 01

  Doing.

• 1:09:00Caleb Hammer?

Stop, please stop. $82 in this bull accounts. Again, what is it? Savings?

• 1:09:06Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 1:09:07Caleb Hammer?

  Something, I don't know. Chase.

• 1:09:11Caleb Hammer?

I can't read it. It's either $948 to $600. Ah, it's six, six something. It's really blurry. Chase doesn't let you download statements and then make redactions on there for your privacy. The screenshot and then do it. It's really bad. Come on, Chase. Okay, it's just mostly moving money. Cash out, it's $256 in there. Money coming in. What are you getting? 15 bucks, 5 bucks, 25 bucks for what?

• 1:09:38Speaker 01

  I honestly have no idea.

• 1:09:40Caleb Hammer?

  Bonus tatas?

• 1:09:42Speaker 01

  No.

• 1:09:43Caleb Hammer?

  Okay.

• 1:09:45Speaker 01

Oh, sometimes I'll, my friends will cash out me stuff if I like, take them out to dinner, they'll cash out me back.

• 1:09:49Caleb Hammer?

You can't afford dinner. $234 in this account. Again, this is where the money moved into because you did not have enough money and there it is.

• 1:09:58Speaker 01

Right. So that's what I'm saying. That's why I'm confused about the cash advance. It should be there.

• 1:10:06Caleb Hammer?

Because, uh, $10 went out there. It tried to pull up $10 there. $150 in there. I don't know. Um, I don't know. At the point of this, you had negative, uh, $5 and that's when it dinged. Yeah. So you had $4 to start with and then it tried to pull out $10. So you're surprised. So it brought in money. Now you're paying 30% interest on it. Well done. $708. This looks like credit card. What is this?

• 1:10:36Speaker 01

It's a credit card savings account. That's where that.

• 1:10:39Caleb Hammer?

  Oh, savings?

• 1:10:39Speaker 01

Yes. So I have that completely out of sight, out of mind. So that way I don't spend it.

• 1:10:44Caleb Hammer?

You're set for life. 700 bucks.

• 1:10:48Speaker 01

Well, I only started that about a year ago. What?

• 1:10:52Caleb Hammer?

  That's a joke for a year.

• 1:10:54Speaker 01

  Well, it's only-

• 1:10:54Caleb Hammer?

If that was our focus, not necessarily that it should be, but don't try to make that sound good saying-

• 1:10:59Speaker 01

  No.

• 1:10:59Caleb Hammer?

Oh, it's okay. I only started a year ago.

• 1:11:01Speaker 01

Well, it only does like ten or fifteen, or ten or twenty dollars a month. It's just more of like, it's, that's not my, my six month reserve that I'm trying to build. That is just an extra savings account.

• 1:11:12Caleb Hammer?

How would you have an extra savings account? What do you mean? You don't even have a normal savings account.

• 1:11:15Speaker 01

  Well, I do.

• 1:11:16Caleb Hammer?

  Yeah, with sixty dollars.

• 1:11:18Speaker 01

  It didn't.

• 1:11:20Speaker 01

  I moved the money around.

• 1:11:20Caleb Hammer?

What do you mean? If you don't have an emergency fund, why the [__] are you having another savings account? What are you talking about?

• 1:11:24Speaker 01

Because if I don't have the money in sight, I'm not spending it.

• 1:11:28Caleb Hammer?

Why wouldn't it just be your emergency fund? Why are you having something separate that's not your emergency fund when you don't have an emergency fund?

• 1:11:34Speaker 01

Cause I want my emergency fund to be in a high yield savings account.

• 1:11:37Caleb Hammer?

I don't care. Put that there. You don't have a dollar.

• 1:11:40Speaker 01

  No.

• 1:11:40Caleb Hammer?

You don't have any money saved up for an emergency fund. So why is there a separate account? Do you not understand my question?

• 1:11:47Speaker 01

  No.

• 1:11:48Caleb Hammer?

If you do not have the basic minimum required savings account, why are you trying to build this extra one that you are supposed to do after having this one?

• 1:11:58Speaker 01

Remember that conversation earlier about having a couple of good ideas and really bad execution? This is a really bad execution.

• 1:12:05Caleb Hammer?

This. This is like, that's not a real answer. Your real answer is like, I already know I'm [__] up, but I do nothing to solve it. Stupid. It's legitimately stupid. Can we be honest?

• 1:12:17Speaker 01

  Yes.

• 1:12:17Caleb Hammer?

  That's dumb.

• 1:12:18Speaker 01

  Yes.

• 1:12:18Caleb Hammer?

And that's not, see, there it is again. She knows it's dumb, but she doesn't do anything about it. This is, this is infuriating. You can't just, it's not that I want you to disagree with me, but the fact that you are a hundred percent on board and agreeable with everything is, it has to be incorrect. Cause you're overdrafting. You have late fees on every [__] account. So there is no way that you actually agree with me. Because if you do, you would be doing something, but you're doing nothing, which means you don't either, you, you're, you're the [__].

• 1:12:46Speaker 01

I agree that the decisions are stupid. I disagree that the reasoning for them is bad because I have or had a plan.

• 1:12:53Caleb Hammer?

Total income that comes in, four thousand seven hundred fifty dollars.

• 1:13:00Caleb Hammer?

I, this debt is a joke, dude. You [__] can make money and your minimum monthly payments are not stacking up. After that much for your money, your rent situation is beyond blessed. Come on.

• 1:13:14Caleb Hammer?

Your debt minimum payment is two hundred and sixty dollars. What's your total rent again, eight hundred? And including internet and everything?

• 1:13:21Speaker 01

No, internet is about a hundred and my phone is also about a hundred.

• 1:13:25Caleb Hammer?

You pay a hundred for internet?

• 1:13:26Speaker 01

  Yes.

• 1:13:26Caleb Hammer?

You pay for the whole internet?

• 1:13:27Speaker 01

  Yes. It's a tax write-off.

• 1:13:30Caleb Hammer?

The whole thing, are you a hundred percent sure? Have you looked at that? Cause you know, when you do, when you calculate a space used for your taxes, you do the room that you use, you can't claim the whole place.

• 1:13:39Speaker 01

  Right.

• 1:13:39Caleb Hammer?

You sure for internet at your home?

• 1:13:41Speaker 01

  Yes.

• 1:13:42Caleb Hammer?

Cause you're not only using it for work.

• 1:13:44Speaker 01

That's what the CPA told me.

• 1:13:47Caleb Hammer?

Okay, I, I, I don't know about that. Again, you're sitting down with the advisors we're gonna connect you to. Phone bill a hundred bucks, not bad. If you don't on your phone, I'd switch to helium. It's the same towers as T-Mobile, it's fifteen bucks a month. What?

• 1:14:00Speaker 01

  I hate T-Mobile. I had T-Mobile for like two years. I switched to AT&T and I've

• 1:14:04Caleb Hammer?

  Well, where? AT&T?

• 1:14:07Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 1:14:07Caleb Hammer?

  Nobody likes AT&T though.

• 1:14:08Speaker 01

  I love AT&T.

• 1:14:09Caleb Hammer?

I guess it's just different areas.

• 1:14:10Speaker 01

I've never had an issue with AT&T.

• 1:14:12Caleb Hammer?

  Oh, really?

• 1:14:13Speaker 01

Like it's a little bit more expensive.

• 1:14:15Caleb Hammer?

  That sucked here, but.

• 1:14:17Speaker 01

Well, I also pay a little bit more because I have like the, the priority data, so I never.

• 1:14:22Caleb Hammer?

Well, I don't care. I've only had good with Verizon and T-Mobile, but whatever, that's fine. We'll put it as a hundred. Gas, vroom, vroom, drive, drive, skirt, skirt, crash, crash.

• 1:14:30Speaker 01

  Um, tolls and gas.

• 1:14:33Caleb Hammer?

  Don't take tolls, you creature.

• 1:14:34Speaker 01

  I have to.

• 1:14:35Caleb Hammer?

You do not have to, there's always an alternative.

• 1:14:37Speaker 01

  The alternative would

• 1:14:38Caleb Hammer?

  In the south at least.

• 1:14:39Speaker 01

Alternative would add thirty minutes to my commute.

• 1:14:41Caleb Hammer?

There you go, wonderful, you got it, congratulations. How much is the toll every time you go through?

• 1:14:45Speaker 01

  Two and a half bucks.

• 1:14:48Speaker 01

One way, so it doesn't charge me going back the other direction. It only charges me going one way across the bridge.

• 1:14:52Caleb Hammer?

  Probably works. Okay, how much?

• 1:14:54Speaker 01

Um, I would say probably two fifty.

• 1:14:57Caleb Hammer?

  Okay, car insurance?

• 1:15:01Speaker 01

I have full comprehension. I just pulled it down.

• 1:15:04Caleb Hammer?

  Comprehension?

• 1:15:05Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 1:15:07Caleb Hammer?

  Comprehensive?

• 1:15:08Speaker 01

Yeah. Is it not full comprehension? Oh, full, whatever. That one, the one that covers-

• 1:15:13Caleb Hammer?

You don't have comprehension of anything.

• 1:15:15Speaker 01

That's so fair. Um, I, okay, I just brought it down a little bit. It was three sixty. I think I brought it down to two eighty.

• 1:15:26Caleb Hammer?

  Rent is insurance?

• 1:15:28Speaker 01

My roommate covers it. So it's included in my living expenses.

• 1:15:34Caleb Hammer?

But is it under your name, the insurance?

• 1:15:36Speaker 01

  No.

• 1:15:37Caleb Hammer?

  You don't have rent-

• 1:15:38Speaker 01

I am a covered party, but it is not like, yeah.

• 1:15:42Caleb Hammer?

Okay, TP fund, anything else you need to survive, this is your nails, this is your toilet paper, whatever, a hundred dollars, you're gonna meal prep, use our, uh, menu and everything, meal plan, and the budgeting program to get to your needs, three hundred bucks for groceries, cooking a couple of times a week, congratulations.

• 1:15:56Speaker 01

  Yes.

• 1:15:56Caleb Hammer?

Very exciting. Medical, healthcare, anything like that, monthly basis.

• 1:16:00Speaker 01

Yes, I would say probably hundred and fifty a month.

• 1:16:04Caleb Hammer?

  Okay, cool. Any pets?

• 1:16:06Speaker 01

  Yes.

• 1:16:07Caleb Hammer?

  How mu- what?

• 1:16:08Speaker 01

  I have a cat.

• 1:16:09Caleb Hammer?

  Cat food, how much?

• 1:16:10Speaker 01

  Ooh, uh-

• 1:16:11Caleb Hammer?

  Come on.

• 1:16:13Speaker 01

Let me think. I think it's a hundred and twenty. Plus her medication. Including her medication.

• 1:16:21Caleb Hammer?

Including her medication. Okay, pet insurance?

• 1:16:23Speaker 01

  Nope.

• 1:16:24Caleb Hammer?

  Okay, pet insurance?

• 1:16:25Speaker 01

Yes, I need to. She's getting old and I need to.

• 1:16:27Caleb Hammer?

She's getting old, you might not be able to get pet insurance.

• 1:16:30Speaker 01

  Oh.

• 1:16:30Caleb Hammer?

  You [bleep] up.

• 1:16:31Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 1:16:32Caleb Hammer?

Irresponsible. Okay. Then I'll leave that blank for now. No subscriptions?

• 1:16:39Caleb Hammer?

Hmm, what do you need for work stuff? Your, your extra work? How and what, how much in subscriptions? Or ongoing expenses?

• 1:16:49Speaker 01

I don't think I have any subscriptions for that, but

• 1:16:55Speaker 01

what was the one I was just thinking of? It was right there. Oh, crap.

• 1:16:58Caleb Hammer?

Probably something big, long, purple and floppy.

• 1:17:03Speaker 01

  It's not a subscription. It's a one-time purchase. Uh-

• 1:17:07Caleb Hammer?

Well, it seems for work, huh?

• 1:17:09Speaker 01

  No. Uh-

• 1:17:10Caleb Hammer?

Okay. If you can think of it, let me know.

• 1:17:13Speaker 01

The, um, the video editing software.

• 1:17:15Caleb Hammer?

  How much?

• 1:17:15Speaker 01

  Uh, sixty dollars a quarter.

• 1:17:20Caleb Hammer?

And we'll put that at twenty.

• 1:17:23Caleb Hammer?

Congratulations, as we all expected this entire conversation, it's super easy, you make double what your minimum of the expenses are, you're just acting like a child. And you're enabling yourself by endlessly making excuses. Lots of bad things were in your past, but you're allowing, you're allowing them to be a cripple as of why you're not allowed to get ahead. Uh, congratulations, you're able to pay off all your debt except for your student loans in about four months and get a fully funded emergency fund in about four more months. What a joke. What? So you're kidding me? Come on, this is so stupid. And an extra multi thousand dollar month. This is so dumb.

• 1:18:00Caleb Hammer?

I'm done with this conversation. You're literally just using crutches. It's so stupid. I'm sorry. But that irritates me. You can get out of this almost easier than anyone on the show. What a joke. Come on. Spending a budget, you're under, but it still was very close and none of it was going to actually make you progress on debt and you weren't making minimum payments, three out of ten. Debt? Well, okay, the past IRS debt, so that'll include something else. Okay. Well, okay, let's think first. Okay, so you have an extra two thousand. Let's call it two thousand because you're just gonna set some money aside for taxes. You can get out of debt, one, two, three, four,

• 1:18:36Caleb Hammer?

  five,

• 1:18:39Caleb Hammer?

uh, about five and a half months and then, uh, oh, let's call it six months, six months. IRS will save up about ten. So you can do that in about five, so we're ten months in. Cool. So ten months in, you paid off your past taxes, paid off your past debt. Save up for a fully funded emergency fund, which for you is gonna be about ten thousand bucks. Let's call it another five months, really. Actually, you have, you have two hundred and fifty bucks left, extra months, so it's gonna even go quicker from there. But whatever. I think, uh, Yeah, yeah, sure. Just over here. Congratulations. Wonderful. Bet your dad is stupid, but luckily none of it's in collections, but it is because of what you're doing and not making the payments. I'm still loans. I'm not going to give you better than a two out of 10.

• 1:19:25Caleb Hammer?

If you're actually making your payments on this for your debt situation, it's not the most dangerous. Or worse, but I'm going to bring it down because you're not you're just so bad. Emergency fund. If like a little bit set aside, one out of 10, you're almost a tenth of the way there. Retirement, anything? You need to catch up on that quickly, but we'll talk about that in the follow up when you're ready to come back on the follow up YouTube channel. • 1:20:20Speaker 01

  Oh, not a victim.

• 1:20:21Caleb Hammer?

You're still young, but you're so dumb. I don't like her. I'm starting to not like her. She just looks at me and she gives these like I'm cute faces. Shut the up, but this is we're talking about her like life and death and she's just like, yeah, I'm an idiot.

• 1:20:36Speaker 02

  It is pretty frustrating.

• 1:20:37Speaker 01

I have been told I'm the dumbest smart person.

• 1:20:39Caleb Hammer?
