Making plans with asthma can be awful. It always goes from, "That sounds fun," to, "In this weather, what if my asthma acts up?" I got tired of saying no, so my doctor suggested Dupixent. I'm Rachel, and I'm sponsored by Regeneron in Santa Fe to share my story with real patients like me.

• 1:17Speaker 03

Dupixent, Dupilumab, is an add-on prescription maintenance treatment for adults and children six years and up with moderate to severe eosinophilic or oral steroid-dependent asthma that's not controlled with current asthma medicines. Dupixent is not for sudden breathing problems.

• 1:29Speaker 02

Dupixent helps people breathe better in as little as two weeks. And now, I don't even think twice about saying yes to plans more, rain or shine.

He has two new culture podcasts, Into It on Vulture and Vibe Check on Stitcher, out now. Congregation, please welcome Sam Sanders to the show.

• 3:18Speaker 05

  Praise the Lord, saints.

• 3:20Laci Mosley?

  Oh, wow. Amen.

• 3:21Speaker 05

  Listen, listen.

• 3:22Laci Mosley?

  Congregation, we-

• 3:22Speaker 05

We come before your Father God.

• 3:24Laci Mosley?

Father God, on this good day, we're coming for you. First of all, say thanks.

• 3:27Speaker 05

  That's right.

• 3:29Laci Mosley?

  But also, Brother Sanders here-

• 3:32Speaker 05

  Yes.

• 3:33Laci Mosley?

Is a real live bona fide journalist.

• 3:35Speaker 05

Well, at my heart, though, I was a church kid. And I hear that we're talking church today, so my soul is ready.

• 3:42Laci Mosley?

I am too. I was raised in the church.

• 3:45Speaker 05

What kind of church were you raised in?

• 3:46Laci Mosley?

  Missionary Baptist.

• 3:48Speaker 05

Okay, see, I was at crazy Pentecostal Apostolic.

• 3:51Laci Mosley?

Oh, okay. Did you have to put some shoes in people's faces sometimes?

• 3:56Speaker 05

We, uh, no worldly music, no dances, no movies, no jewelry, no makeup. The women could not wear pants, only long skirts.

• 4:04Laci Mosley?

Now, we couldn't do that either. We couldn't wear pants.

• 4:06Speaker 05

Okay. But yeah, it was like, I had to beg to go to high school prom. My mom was like, why do you need that?

• 4:13Laci Mosley?

What was the excuse of not being able to go to high school?

• 4:15Speaker 05

  That's of the world.

• 4:16Laci Mosley?

Satan is out there promming, not in people's souls.

• 4:19Speaker 05

Basically, dancing to that devil music, making babies, all that.

• 4:24Laci Mosley?

I mean, some of it was devil music.

• 4:27Speaker 05

Yeah, but it sounded so good. It sounded so good.

• 4:30Laci Mosley?

That's so true. I mean, okay, so wait, we always ask people, Sam, like, what is like your relationship with scams? Do you like them? Do you hate them? Do you feel like you were born in one?

• 4:40Speaker 05

I grew up in the church, so I grew up in a space that could easily be scammerific.

• 4:46Laci Mosley?

  Love that word.

• 4:47Speaker 05

But I had to find the portions of belief and religion in church that weren't scammy. And I was lucky. I think like my church was extreme, but like at its core, it was good people doing good things.

• 4:56Laci Mosley?

  Right.

• 4:56Speaker 05

There's a lot of church folk that aren't in it for the right reasons. So that is, I mean, church is a scam writ large.

• 5:04Laci Mosley?

That's one of the wild things.

• 5:05Speaker 05

Part of church that wasn't too scammy. Thank the Lord.

• 5:08Laci Mosley?

I agree with you there. Cause like people who enjoy church doesn't necessarily mean you're a scammer, but the institution of church

• 5:14Speaker 05

  Can be scammy.

• 5:15Laci Mosley?

Can be very scammy, as can the Bible, because you can read the Bible and be like, oh, it's all about taking care of the others that you love. Or it could be like, oh, there is a chapter in here, Sam, we could say la dada for this. Uh, mule, would you, would you know? Know anybody?

• 5:29Speaker 05

  Yeah.

• 5:30Laci Mosley?

So it's like, you could be a good person or a bad person and get something from the holy book.

• 5:34Speaker 05

Exactly, exactly. And I was blessed and lucky to have folks who were like in it for the right reasons, even if they were kind of caught out there. Like you think back on some of the rules we had to do, like some of the rules, just like, who cares?

• 5:45Laci Mosley?

Just somebody petty. That's what happens when you let everybody be, uh, involved in the pitching session. You know what I mean? That's, I feel like the Bible is that one deer, like day a year that Jesus was like, all right, no idea is a bad idea.

• 6:00Speaker 05

Everybody come on in. Peter, John, Mary, what you got? Give us some lies.

• 6:04Laci Mosley?

What, what, what are the things we should be making people do?

• 6:07Speaker 05

Yeah, yeah. Well, cause it's like, I love the Bible as a piece of literature, but it is the most logically confused document ever created.

• 6:16Laci Mosley?

Of course. It's a Wikipedia where no one did the edit.

• 6:19Speaker 05

  No one did the edit.

• 6:19Laci Mosley?

Everybody was just like, nah, I got my chapter.

• 6:21Speaker 05

Yeah. Then my favorite fun fact is, because we grew up with that strict King James version of the Bible. Uh, King James was fruity as he could be.

• 6:30Laci Mosley?

Yes. He loved mess. He loved mess.

• 6:32Speaker 05

Gay, gay, gay, gay, gay. So I love to think back on all of the lectures and sermons I got on sexuality from the King James version of the Bible, knowing good and well, that man loves some D. It's funny. It's funny.

• 9:52Laci Mosley?

Guys, we're just talking about what's hot and fraud. This is where we warn our listeners about fraudsters in the streets or new scams that are popping in the zeitgeist. Or more often than not, we get a letter from you guys. So as always, snitch on your friends and family at [email protected]. Just make sure your scam is retired because we don't want to what? Yes, fuck up your bag. Amen. So today, Sam, I need a fake name.

• 10:15Speaker 05

  Okay. Paletta.

• 10:17Laci Mosley?

Paletta. Oh, Paletta definitely makes a good mac and cheese. She got a burn on one of her elbows.

• 10:24Speaker 05

She does stove top and oven. You gotta have both heats. You gotta have both heats.

• 10:28Laci Mosley?

Oh, she don't play. She don't play. Love that for her. So Paletta says, and Paletta, you were really talking, honey, so I'm gonna have to edit down a little bit because I was like, Paletta now, get to the things, you're scamming me. Out of the show. So this, hi, scam goddess. A few months back, the guy that I was dating, already a scam. Let's say George was living in a building owned by his brother Don, also a fake name. Okay, I should have actually asked you that, huh, first girl? So, Paletta says they had a pretty serious fire. Luckily, they and other folks in the building, and no one was hurt. But it happened in the middle of the night and in the middle of the winter. As the firefighters were fighting and doing their thing, all the residents were outside figuring out what they needed to do.

• 11:13Laci Mosley?

Nowhere to go, cold, in pajamas or in boxers, stranded, that sort of thing. Basically, you know. In a distressful situation. So I'm trying to get, I'm trying to understand where the scam was here. Cause this just sounds very tragic, what happened Paulette, but I am.

• 11:30Speaker 05

Although, I will say whenever I hear tale, tell of like, an unexplained fire in the middle of the night, there's a good chance it's arson. But let me not jump ahead.

• 11:39Laci Mosley?

I just think this is us. I think every fire is this is us.

• 11:42Speaker 05

The crock pot setting off the house. Yeah, I hear that.

• 11:45Laci Mosley?

If I was a volunteer firefighter, I'd come in, I'd be like, where's the crock pot?

• 11:49Speaker 05

Although you know crock pot had the issue with statement at that episode being like, we actually don't do this. They're actually quite safe. Just so you know. I digress.

• 11:58Laci Mosley?

Nah, nah, crock pot, see, I got to sue, uh, don't sue NBC. Sue Mandy Moore directly. Sue, sue the actor who played the dad for ruining your life.

• 12:08Speaker 05

White girl, I feel like she has a cookout invite. I feel like she cares. I don't know her at all.

• 12:13Laci Mosley?

If I were y'all crock pot, y'all gotta go against them negatively. I don't know, get a air fryer in a TV show, just exploding.

• 12:20Speaker 05

Air fryer, put your food in the oven.

• 12:22Laci Mosley?

Isn't that, isn't that the crock pot's rival? Or is the sous vide the crock pot?

• 12:26Speaker 05

But then there was the Instapot, I don't know, I don't be cooking. I don't do that. I make eggs. Anyway, sorry.

• 12:32Laci Mosley?

That whole conversation made me sound like I be cooking, cause I really just named so many brands. Wow, wowzers. Meanwhile, post, postmate is like, hey sis, it's time you come home tonight. We'll be waiting. So, these people are waiting outside, they're wrapped in their blankets and they're distressed, right? They don't know what to do. While they were standing outside, a car with two other guys rolled up. These guys were unaffiliated with the local fire department. And at the time, seemed like they were just simply good Samaritans. They brought everyone warm clothes, blankets, food, water.

• 13:05Speaker 05

How did they know to roll up?

• 13:07Laci Mosley?

I mean, they saw the fire.

• 13:09Speaker 05

I see fire, I don't go up with blankets. Anyway, sorry, sorry, sorry.

• 13:14Laci Mosley?

You see fire, you see tragedy. They see fire, they see opportunity. So they handing out blankets and, you know, range and stuff or whatever. So while one guy was helping the other couple residents get their hotels up, the other guy was chatting with George, who was her boyfriend at the time, Paulette's boyfriend.

• 13:34Speaker 05

And we don't know yet who these guys are affiliated with.

• 13:36Laci Mosley?

No, we just know George, his boyfriend.

• 13:39Speaker 05

  And he's got Kim.

• 13:39Laci Mosley?

Chum. What a web we lead. While one guy was helping the couple other residents get their hotels up, the other guy started chatting with my ex and his brother. And he basically said, he and the other guy just go around doing this in their spare time. They listen to the local fire radio needs and the police scanners to find out where the fires are. And they go to locations to help people allegedly out of the goodness of their hearts.

• 14:05Speaker 05

  Help them do what?

• 14:07Laci Mosley?

  I mean, B code, um.

• 14:10Speaker 05

  I guess.

• 14:11Laci Mosley?

You know, you gotta, if you haven't been in a house fire unless you sitting on the edge of the curb with the blanket.

• 14:17Speaker 05

  Yeah, but actually.

• 14:18Laci Mosley?

  Who's gonna provide the blanket?

• 14:19Speaker 05

  The firefighters?

• 14:21Laci Mosley?

  They putting out the fire.

• 14:22Speaker 05

They got a crew, right? There's something like to help and this.

• 14:24Laci Mosley?

  There's not a blanket guy.

• 14:26Speaker 05

There needs to be. Firefighter.com, hope you're listening. Your workflow should include a blanket person.

• 14:33Laci Mosley?

A guy who's just there to do blankets.

• 14:35Speaker 05

Get you some grandies and aunties to come in the truck and be like, we got the blankies. We got some snacks.

• 14:40Laci Mosley?

Oh my God, that would be so nice. What if, see, that's better than retirement homes. What if we put an elderly, there's already hella oxygen.

• 14:47Speaker 05

  Come on.

• 14:47Laci Mosley?

At the fire station. So we bring the elderly there and they just come along for the fires. And they're like, come and everything's gonna be alright, baby.

• 14:55Speaker 05

Everyone loves firefighters because they are the one part of law enforcement that never has guns.

• 14:59Laci Mosley?

  Right.

• 15:00Speaker 05

  Everyone loves firefighters.

• 15:01Laci Mosley?

No one's ever like, he put me out.

• 15:03Speaker 05

No, no, it's like, oh, nice guy, kinda hot too.

• 15:06Laci Mosley?

They used to have, you know, that's a good rebrand for them. Cause the firefighter calendar really did numbers for them. Cause they had to have been the ones hosing the black people in the 60s. Cause those weren't regular hoses. Those were not regular hoses.

• 15:17Speaker 05

  Those were fire grade hoses.

• 15:19Laci Mosley?

But you know what? They rehabilitated with the calendar and the.

• 15:22Speaker 05

They did. I, I, listen, you put a firefighter right here in this room, I'm saying what's up.

• 15:26Laci Mosley?

Listen, let's open a business, Sam. This is our business. It's elderly home, but it's just, we put old people in firehouses. Just one designated old person there.

• 15:35Speaker 05

We'll get shut down. I don't know. I like it hypothetically.

• 15:41Laci Mosley?

I don't know if an old person showed up while I was having like an awful time.

• 15:45Speaker 05

  Yeah, yeah, emotional support.

• 15:47Laci Mosley?

  Yeah.

• 15:47Speaker 05

  Anywho.

• 15:48Laci Mosley?

  Anywho.

• 15:49Speaker 05

So these, so these two dudes say we go around fire to fire to fire.

• 15:52Laci Mosley?

Yes, allegedly they go around helping people.

• 15:55Speaker 05

  Okay.

• 15:56Laci Mosley?

So as they were talking, this guy also casually added that they know a company that does fire cleanup and restoration. So he tells him.

• 16:06Laci Mosley?

Hmm, that if he needs any help and it would be way cheaper to go through that company than regular insurance.

• 16:13Speaker 05

  No, no, no, no, no.

• 16:15Laci Mosley?

Because this company pays the deductible for you.

• 16:18Speaker 05

Oh yeah, that sounds too good to be true.

• 16:20Laci Mosley?

So Don was obviously very distraught at the event, was very grateful and told him that he'd get in touch with these people and ask for the number. The guy essentially said, I can do you one better. You're so stressed out, I'll call them right now for you, king. And I'll take this whole task off your plate.

• 16:41Speaker 05

  Oh, they're doing insurance fraud.

• 16:44Speaker 05

They, they are the equivalent of ambulance chasers, but fire chasers?

• 16:48Laci Mosley?

  Fire chasers.

• 16:49Speaker 05

But even, wow, okay, go ahead. This is, I'm already mad.

• 16:53Laci Mosley?

That's the thing about scams, anything can be a scam.

• 16:56Speaker 05

  Anything can be a scam.

• 16:56Laci Mosley?

And why would, and this is a perfect warm up. The worst thing just happened, your home is gone.

• 17:02Speaker 05

  Yeah.

• 17:02Laci Mosley?

If you're lucky, none of your loved ones are gone, but you're sitting out on this curb. And there's, and the blankets just appear in the movies like props.

• 17:09Speaker 05

  Yeah.

• 17:09Laci Mosley?

You never think about who's bringing the blankets.

• 17:12Speaker 05

I will say though, one part of like, American society that is pretty effective at its job, are insurance companies that deal with fire. They've been at it for a while.

• 17:25Laci Mosley?

  Yeah.

• 17:26Speaker 05

And when you call the insurance company or if you own a building and you are filing a claim on an insurance policy for fire. You make the call, they really get it done for you. That's one thing that like, they know how to do it. So I don't see the need for a middleman.

• 17:42Laci Mosley?

  That's true.

• 17:42Speaker 05

  You call your insurance company.

• 17:44Laci Mosley?

Cause also, insurance companies have to be the pettiest ones because buyers can be accidents.

• 17:50Speaker 05

  Oh, yeah.

• 17:51Laci Mosley?

But they have to try their hardest to figure out how it was not your fault.

• 17:55Speaker 05

  Yeah.

• 17:56Laci Mosley?

I feel like you can't buy a book of matches without the insurance company being like, bing.

• 17:59Speaker 05

And they'll always find out. One thing they can always figure out is how the fire started. Who, where, when, what, why? They're gonna get to it. Which is why I would not want to complicate that process with a middle person. Man, woman.

• 18:12Laci Mosley?

Right. But I mean, technically, they may not be in the middle. They in the middle of you as a legitimacy.

• 18:17Speaker 05

Yeah. I betcha, okay, so go on, but I have some theories already.

• 18:22Laci Mosley?

I, wait, I love, I love a good theory though, and I love to be surprised. So, this, so, so right now, Green has, the ex-boyfriend has been approached by the blanket man. Do you know the blanket man? Comes out to the fires. And he says, I got it, I got it. Do you want better, my guy? I can call the insurance place for you. So the guy calls the restoration company and conveniently, so conven- so many conveniences with this man.

• 18:48Speaker 05

  Mm-hmm.

• 18:49Laci Mosley?

They were available right then and there. Right there. Ha ha.

• 18:53Speaker 05

The insurance company answers the phone at midnight.

• 18:56Laci Mosley?

They say, what up? It's a State Farm. No, Jake, Jake, get the fuck up right now. Get your, put your red polo on.

• 19:04Speaker 05

See, I miss the era of State Farm with Dennis Haysbert. Remember him?

• 19:08Laci Mosley?

  Oh, remember him.

• 19:09Speaker 05

The really classy uncle black guy.

• 19:12Laci Mosley?

No, that's, that was a 24. He did Allstate.

• 19:14Speaker 05

  Shit.

• 19:15Laci Mosley?

I know about him. Are you in good hands? Oh, no, you can curse on this show.

• 19:18Speaker 05

I love him. I want him to be my insurance guy.

• 19:20Laci Mosley?

He was mine. I was in good hands and then they dropped me. And everybody knows that.

• 19:24Speaker 05

I got that damn Gecko. And Gecko's fine, but you can't get excited about a Gecko.

• 19:29Laci Mosley?

I would tell y'all what I got, cause it's actually hilarious, but then I feel like you might be able to find out stuff about me. So I can't tell you. I'll tell you off air, Sam. But anyways, we, we.

• 19:39Speaker 05

Back to it. I'm sorry, I am totally distracting you.

• 19:42Laci Mosley?

No, no, people love that part of the show. They do. So we conveniently calls the company and they pick up immediately. Hello, us, legitimate company that picks up in the middle of the night. How can we help you? So to start, they are gonna start the assessment details and get the contract settled like right now. Fire's still burning.

• 20:03Speaker 05

That's never how it happens. Like, that's literally never how it happens.

• 20:07Laci Mosley?

Little pieces of ash blown on your face.

• 20:09Speaker 05

They gotta send the actuary out, they gotta wait for the fire department's report, they got, like, there's a process.

• 20:13Laci Mosley?

Mm-mm. Describs, okay, y'all take a picture of the fire right now. And text it to us.

• 20:20Speaker 05

This is fish, this is a catfish dinner.

• 20:24Laci Mosley?

  Right.

• 20:24Speaker 05

  Fishy.

• 20:25Laci Mosley?

  Catfish dinner.

• 20:26Speaker 05

  Wow.

• 20:27Laci Mosley?

Yes, cuz that's, this is a, the service is a little too good.

• 20:30Speaker 05

  Mm-hmm, mm-hmm.

• 20:31Laci Mosley?

Okay, and when it's a little too good, it may not be true.

• 20:34Speaker 05

  Yeah.

• 20:34Laci Mosley?

So, they made it seem very super time-sensitive and urgent, and he had to all sign it right there, like, while they're still at the fire.

• 20:42Speaker 05

With the blanket on, on the curb?

• 20:44Laci Mosley?

  Yes.

• 20:46Laci Mosley?

  Don, understandably, sign the contract.

• 20:49Speaker 05

  No, not understandably, Don. Don.

• 20:54Laci Mosley?

  You know how you do.

• 20:55Speaker 05

  I don't know how I do.

• 20:58Laci Mosley?

You know how when you have a fire and then a strange man shows up?

• 21:02Speaker 05

I don't even sign the back of my credit cards. I don't sign nothing.

• 21:07Laci Mosley?

Sam, Sam, you are, you, you're not listening to the facts, okay? You had an unfortunate fire from a crock pot from This Is Us.

• 21:17Speaker 05

I love how This Is Us is still a part of the situation.

• 21:21Laci Mosley?

Cuz it is, and now, you're cold, you're cold and outside and embarrassed, you're wearing whatever you went to bed in, which you, you know you didn't give a fire look when you went to bed. So that night, you're wearing, like, boxer, they got a little hole in them, they're white, they're, they're ones you thought no one would ever see.

• 21:39Speaker 05

Wow, you know, men have period panties, too.

• 21:41Laci Mosley?

That's what I'm saying, but you out, you out of your good pussy panties, okay? And all you got, all you got are your period panties that are worn out.

• 21:49Speaker 05

  Yeah, yeah.

• 21:50Laci Mosley?

Okay, and, and you're out there, and you're vulnerable, and all your stuff is being burnt up in the flames, think about that.

• 21:56Speaker 05

And some guy who pulled up with a blanket says, "No, it's good, sign this."

• 22:00Laci Mosley?

Yes, that tracks. He showed up, he gave you a blanket, okay? You was the hoe with no blanket. Oh, blanketless hoe.

• 22:08Speaker 05

Blanketless hoe. Also, the question, hypothetical, if I know there's a fire, and I gotta get downstairs real quick, you do have four or five seconds where you think about what to bring with you, right? I'm wrapping myself in the bedspread.

• 22:22Laci Mosley?

  What?

• 22:23Speaker 05

And coming down, cause smoke, you cover yourself while you go down.

• 22:25Laci Mosley?

Okay, okay, you think about safety. I was like, I'm getting my Gucci's.

• 22:30Speaker 05

  My, my, my.

• 22:31Laci Mosley?

At least I got some little resale value now, check. It's something to pawn out here on these streets.

• 22:36Speaker 05

  I need good shoes.

• 22:37Laci Mosley?

  Yeah.

• 22:38Speaker 05

  And a thick blanket.

• 22:39Laci Mosley?

  Yeah.

• 22:39Speaker 05

And get me out of there. And maybe my phone.

• 22:41Laci Mosley?

Cause this is like apocalypse that I'm definitely taking stuff I can barter with. So then I wouldn't care about the labels and shoes and whatnot. But if it's just our fire, it's our house and I'm trying to.

• 22:52Speaker 05

Like if my house caught on fire tonight, I always have a pair of flip flops next to the bed. Cause earthquake culture taught me that. Have shoes, cause if glass breaks, you don't want to walk on glass. So I got shoes, I'm taking my thickest blanket that's on the bed, phone is right there, I'm getting out.

• 23:07Laci Mosley?

Okay, Bonnie Part- uh, Dolly Parton said lipstick by the bed.

• 23:12Speaker 05

  Oh.

• 23:12Laci Mosley?

She says like, look like a bad bitch, cause if there's an apocalypse.

• 23:15Speaker 05

Listen, my dad always told me, wear clean underwear before you get on the plane and clean your house before you leave for an airplane flight. You never know. So I like that.

• 23:24Laci Mosley?

I like cleaning your house before an airplane flight too. Cause I like to come home to a clean house. Anyway.

• 23:29Speaker 05

So they have, he's, he's signed the form.

• 23:31Laci Mosley?

He signed everything like one does.

• 23:34Speaker 05

  Not this one, but.

• 23:36Laci Mosley?

If so, fact though, this is how people do. So then, in the coming days, the restoration contractors reached out to the tenants of the building, including George, and asked for their renters insurance information. George was confused by this, since the actual cleaning and restorations would be going through Don's homeowners insurance, since he.

• 24:00Speaker 05

  Confused?

• 24:01Laci Mosley?

Confusing. Naturally confusing. Since he was the owner and not the tenants as individual renters. So that was very weird. But the company told them that they were just doing a standard process and for them to be able to conduct the work with the individual apartments, they had to notify each tenant's respective renters insurance company. So everyone gave them their renters insurance information and then the company does clean out the building and everyone's stuff and whatever was salvageable. Blah, blah, blah, good story. Couple of days later.

• 24:35Laci Mosley?

However, all of the tenants received a bill conveniently for the exact price of their respective renters insurance fire coverage amount. Fifteen thousand dollars.

• 24:46Speaker 05

  Let's see, a bill or a check?

• 24:49Laci Mosley?

  Bill.

• 24:49Speaker 05

A bill. They, they each got a bill for fifteen grand.

• 24:53Laci Mosley?

  They had.

• 24:54Speaker 05

From someone that wasn't their insurance company, or what, who was it?

• 24:57Laci Mosley?

So they had a fire. Homeboy came with a blanket.

• 25:01Speaker 05

  Yes.

• 25:01Laci Mosley?

He got everybody's respect because he was like, I'm the blanket man.

• 25:04Speaker 05

  Uh huh.

• 25:04Laci Mosley?

  Y'all should trust me.

• 25:05Speaker 05

  Uh huh.

• 25:06Laci Mosley?

So then he came up to one tenant, who was her ex, and was like, my guy has signed this paperwork out here. Uh, I'll knock the ass off. Alright, sign it. Then he was like, you need to actually get all the tenants in the apartment building to, they need to sign it too.

• 25:18Speaker 05

  So they all signed?

• 25:19Laci Mosley?

  Yeah.

• 25:20Speaker 05

And then after that information was gathered, he ended up sending them a bill?

• 25:24Laci Mosley?

  Yeah, they got a bill.

• 25:25Speaker 05

From the guy with the blankets?

• 25:27Laci Mosley?

  Yes.

• 25:28Speaker 05

Did any of them pay this bill?

• 25:30Laci Mosley?

Oh, I'm, they're curious about the bill right now. Uh, everyone was led to believe that Dawn's insurance as the building's owner was supposed to cover this. So it was a big shock to everyone, including Dawn, and Dawn Greenwood together got shot to minis. The bills included a couple of seemingly legit charges, but a lot of bogus itemized charges that were like several hundred dollars each. All of the tenants' belongings at this point were in storage units and the companies had added to that. So basically, now the companies are holding everyone's stuff until they receive payment.

• 26:05Speaker 05

  Jesus.

• 26:07Laci Mosley?

So then, we don't have all the finer details here, but somehow they filed claims on all these people's insurance, took their money, and then also took hold of their stuff.

• 26:17Speaker 05

So by these tenants, that night with the blankets, signing whatever these guys told them to sign.

• 26:23Laci Mosley?

  Yeah.

• 26:23Speaker 05

  They gave up some rights.

• 26:25Laci Mosley?

  Yeah.

• 26:25Speaker 05

And now, the driving roaming blanket fraudsters have committed insurance fraud that has the tenant's stuff locked up until they pay the blanket guys?

• 26:38Laci Mosley?

And I think the insurance, the real insurance company has the tenant's stuff locked up because they have to play the blanket guys.

• 26:46Speaker 05

  Wow.

• 26:46Laci Mosley?

Because they all signed up to be scammed by the blanket guys?

• 26:49Speaker 05

They signed up to let the blanket guys be the intermediaries, when they shouldn't have done that.

• 26:53Laci Mosley?

  No.

• 26:55Speaker 05

  Wow.

• 26:58Speaker 05

  People are awful.

• 27:00Laci Mosley?

  Yeah.

• 27:01Speaker 05

  People are awful.

• 27:02Laci Mosley?

Cause like, as much as that seems like an excellent opportunity to to rob someone.

• 27:11Speaker 05

There's a special place in hell for the blanket guys.

• 27:15Laci Mosley?

  The blanket guys are bad.

• 27:16Speaker 05

  The blanket guys are low.

• 27:19Laci Mosley?

Okay, so just wanted to share this scam and spread the word since this was my first time hearing of some things like this. Again, I don't have all the finer details, but there was definitely something in the contract that Don signed that allowed this sketchiness to ensue. Last I heard, they are still holding John's belongings a full eight months later.

• 27:40Laci Mosley?

And from what I've gathered, some of the other tenants have been able to haggle the price down with the company to get their stuff back a bit cheaper instead of paying the full insurance payout amounts. Sounds like the company is just wanting to make any money at this point. Clearly, the original guys that were there to help were in cahoots and probably did get some sort of payout or referrals or something like that. George still refuses to pay the company anything because of the storage space and I'm not dating him anymore. Good luck, hope he gets his stuff back. I feel like you don't hope he gets his stuff back.

• 28:12Speaker 05

Yeah, she don't like him anyway.

• 28:13Laci Mosley?

Hold on, I'm gonna reach out on limits that you were like, George, well, bad things happen at bad payb-

• 28:18Speaker 05

I will say the lesson here is like, if you already have your own insurance, don't sign anything else until you've talked to them first. I feel like this is 101.

• 28:31Laci Mosley?

Yeah, I don't know. Did they bring you a blanket though?

• 28:35Speaker 05

Ah, you're stuck on the blanket. You're stuck on the blanket. Fuck a blanket.

• 28:40Laci Mosley?

They had blankets, they had towels, they also had water and snacks.

• 28:44Speaker 05

  Nah, bro.

• 28:45Laci Mosley?

  Okay?

• 28:46Speaker 05

No, I ain't signing shit. The Red Croft don't make you sign shit.

• 28:50Speaker 05

  That's, that's wild.

• 28:51Laci Mosley?

Lucky the Red Croft got some scams that they own, so.

• 28:53Speaker 05

They are, they are a very interesting kind of scam, but that's another story.

• 31:15Laci Mosley?

And fraud Again, it's time for historic hoodwinkings. It's my favorite part of the show.

• 31:21Speaker 05

This is where I regale Sam with the famous Connor keeper. We just get his opinions throughout.

• 31:25Laci Mosley?

We kind of telegraphed it a little bit earlier, but today we're talking about a bishop most known for his friendship with the mayor of New York City, Eric Adams, was robbed during a live stream of his sermon this past July. However, with much as $1 million in jewelry potentially missing, news stories are coming to light regarding the bishop's past and supposed truth of the crime.

• 31:51Speaker 05

Yeah, I have been loving following this story. I also love how this story has sucked everybody in. Like the New York Times had like a thousand words on this the other day. And they're just like, deep into this man's criminal history. And it's one of those things where it could have just gone under the radar. Could have just been a black Twitter thing, but everyone's like, oh, no, no, no, no, no. There's meat on these bones. Let's go, let's go.

• 32:16Laci Mosley?

Kind of hate that because as a black Twitter thing, it's fun and it's niche and it's specific. And then when it turns into a The Cut article, it's just like y'all are missing so much of the hilarious nuance.

• 32:29Speaker 05

  Yeah, yeah.

• 32:30Laci Mosley?

Because you're not a part of the culture.

• 32:31Speaker 05

You don't understand the black church, you just don't get it.

• 32:33Laci Mosley?

Like if you can't write a reference to who drank my juice in the hood for this,

• 32:38Speaker 05

  Yeah.

• 32:39Laci Mosley?

Then like you shouldn't be, don't ask. Like he was literally that guy.

• 32:43Speaker 05

Well, also, it's like, any of us that have grown up in the black church, you see one image of that man and you know it's a scam.

• 32:50Laci Mosley?

  Yeah.

• 32:51Speaker 05

My general theory on members of the black clergy, if you are on a pulpit and there is any major label signage on your person, you're a scam. If you got Gucci, Louis.

• 33:02Laci Mosley?

How you wearing a full Fendi tracksuit? Talk, talk, talking about, I need to tie, talk about the meek one here with the.

• 33:08Speaker 05

Yeah, you're fraudulent. You're fraudulent. I'm sorry. And so like to read these white news outlets, cover this story and like have to lay out the case for how he was a fraud. I'm like, well, hack Twitter saw him and knew he was a fraud.

• 33:19Laci Mosley?

Yeah, like we gave you all the information you needed. I'm sorry. I just, if you have a Jesus piece, you should not be pastoring.

• 33:29Speaker 05

If you have a Jesus piece, you should never know peace because you're a fraud.

• 33:33Laci Mosley?

If God told you opening up your car doors like this, like this with the arm in the air. If you reach for God when you open up your car door.

• 33:41Speaker 05

  You ain't right.

• 33:41Laci Mosley?

  You ain't, you ain't right.

• 33:42Speaker 05

And you shall not pass through the gates of heaven.

• 33:45Laci Mosley?

Absolutely not. Oh, but I love it though.

• 33:48Speaker 05

It is, it's the gift that keeps on giving and he's also not backing down. He's just.

• 33:53Laci Mosley?

And I love that for him. We love a gaslighting, lying king. Stick to your story. We love a shaggy moment. It wasn't me. Okay? I don't care if you got me in 4K. So on July 24th, the Leaders of Tomorrow International Ministries, lots of names for that church. Love it. Based in Brooklyn, New York, was robbed by three masked men. And there's a video clip of the robbery and they were robbed during a livestream sermon. And we have a clip of that, which I'm sure you've seen Samba.

• 34:24Speaker 05

  Let's play it again.

• 34:24Laci Mosley?

  Give it another go.

• 34:25Speaker 05

Let's play it again. Yo, yo.

• 34:27Laci Mosley?

  Yo. Alright, right, right. Okay.

• 34:29Speaker 03

As Bishop Lamar Whitehead delivered his sermon inside his church in Canarsie, the Leaders of Tomorrow International Ministries, police say three masked armed men burst in and stole one million dollars worth of jewelry, including Rolex.

• 34:44Laci Mosley?

One million dollars worth of, if you have a million.

• 34:46Speaker 03

  The church's livestream.

• 34:48Laci Mosley?

They said, "We lift our hands in the sanctuary." And if you make a move,

• 34:58Laci Mosley?

  we shooting at thee. Yes.

• 35:00Speaker 05

And we shall rob you for the rest of your days.

• 35:03Laci Mosley?

Yes. Yes, Lord. For the rest of your days. Yes.

• 35:10Speaker 05

Also, just like, if you have a million dollars worth of jewelry on your person, everybody in your church better have their rent paid, their lights on, and their children fed.

• 35:19Laci Mosley?

  Yeah.

• 35:20Speaker 05

I grew up in the kind of church where if there were folks in the church who were like hungry or going through it, you give them something. The church would take an offering for those doing the worst to help them out.

• 35:30Laci Mosley?

  Yeah.

• 35:31Speaker 05

  And it feels like.

• 35:31Laci Mosley?

  Love offering, everyone's offering.

• 35:33Speaker 05

Yes. And him having that much jewelry on his person makes me think his church is not doing that kind of work.

• 35:40Laci Mosley?

Yeah, but and I think he obviously uses the facade of like, oh, no, it's my real estate. It's my other things. Like, I just preach God for funsies because I want to tell him about like how good he's been for me. That's just it. And it's like, no, oh, yeah, this is a complete write-off. Yeah, I don't have to pay taxes, crazy.

• 35:57Speaker 05

  It's a fraud.

• 35:58Laci Mosley?

But like, yeah, no, it's an absolute fraud. Also, the way that he got down to the ground when the robbers came in.

• 36:03Speaker 05

  It's almost like he knew.

• 36:04Laci Mosley?

Yeah. And it's also like not very godly.

• 36:06Speaker 05

No, when I first saw it, I was like, is this an inside job?

• 36:09Laci Mosley?

I thought that too, because homeboy, there's a guy sitting in the corner. We'll put the video on Instagram, guys. There's a guy sitting in the corner who's like really minding his business. Now, if I'm in a robbery, I'm not gonna be doing too many hoopings and hollerings, or I'm, but I'm at least getting low. He was just sitting erect like,

• 36:27Laci Mosley?

oh, they doing a robbery. Oh, is that a 38?

• 36:32Laci Mosley?

Yeah, they putting the money in the bag. Don't, don't put the dot packs in, y'all.

• 36:37Speaker 05

No, it's, it all, it's, it's hellusus. I'm also seeing this still now of his, is that, is that, what is that, Gucci?

• 36:44Laci Mosley?

  It's a Gucci. It's a yellow.

• 36:45Speaker 05

A yellow Gucci print head-to-toe suit with, I think, Gucci loafers? And you know what? For all that money on his clothes, the church itself doesn't look that great.

• 36:56Laci Mosley?

Yeah, because it's all going his gator boots and pimped-out Gucci suits. Because the, the, the church looks like, you know, a courtyard Marriott.

• 37:08Speaker 05

  The breakfast buffet room.

• 37:09Laci Mosley?

  Yes.

• 37:09Speaker 05

  It's a breakfast buffet room.

• 37:10Laci Mosley?

Where they have the breakfast buffets. It's giving they just rolled away the, the buffet tray and the waffle maker.

• 37:15Speaker 05

That waffle line I can never work. I can never work that thing. I can never work that.

• 37:19Laci Mosley?

And yeah, it's giving you get a plastic cup and, and you gotta pump the waffle goo into it. It's giving that's like right in the corner.

• 37:26Speaker 05

  Yeah, the lighting is horrible.

• 37:29Laci Mosley?

Yeah, it's giving bagels, but no bagel toasters. That little Philly cream cheese.

• 37:36Speaker 05

So the robbery happens, do they find anybody? Do they get anything back?

• 37:41Laci Mosley?

According to Bishop Lamar Whitehead, the leader of the ministry, the robbers took jewelry from him and his wife totaling in a value as high as one million dollars. You know how you wear a million dollars jewelry to the gym? That's to the church, that seems wise. Uh, the jewelry taken included a seventy-five thousand dollar Rolex watch, a seventy-five thousand dollar cavalier watch, a twenty-five thousand dollar Episcopal ruby and diamond ring, a twenty-five thousand dollar Episcopal diamond ring, and several other gem pieces. Why are you dressed like Mr. Fucking Magoo?

• 38:15Speaker 05

Also, don't roll up in Brooklyn with that much shit on you, bro. You're asking for it.

• 38:19Laci Mosley?

Yeah, like, I feel like that could have happened anywhere.

• 38:22Speaker 05

  Yeah, yeah.

• 38:24Laci Mosley?

I might try to rob you at Trader Joe's.

• 38:28Speaker 05

I see you in the Hopeless Line, it's on, bro. You got that much on you? Give it to me!

• 38:37Laci Mosley?

  Drop the pachulia, bitch.

• 38:40Speaker 05

  Not the pachulia.

• 38:41Laci Mosley?

  A fucking stick-up.

• 38:44Speaker 05

Well, also, this is the difference between old money and new money. Real old money, folks that know how to be rich, they'll have shit that is expensive as fuck on them, and if you, and like, unless you're as rich as they are, you won't know.

• 38:57Laci Mosley?

Which is a flex to people who are as rich as they are, but still, yes.

• 39:01Speaker 05

I want one day that kind of wealth.

• 39:03Laci Mosley?

  Right, where you're wearing a white t-shirt.

• 39:05Speaker 05

And you're like, oh, but this white t-shirt, baby.

• 39:07Laci Mosley?

Yeah, no, this is a five million dollar white t-shirt.

• 39:10Speaker 05

I don't need to do that, uh, full-body Gucci suit wealth. That is a little...

• 39:15Laci Mosley?

See, I, I, I am a little bit of a label whore. I, I want, I want it all. I want a full-body Gucci suit, and then I want to be wearing the necklace of the Titanic underneath it.

• 39:25Speaker 05

Listen, watch where you're walking and what you're talking.

• 39:29Laci Mosley?

Don't, don't be in the sanctuary.

• 39:31Speaker 05

  Not that one.

• 39:32Laci Mosley?

Okay. They, they was trying to get a glory, they was trying to get the...

• 39:38Laci Mosley?

Yeah, I'm sorry. That robbery looked hella staged to me. Also, just the way he got down when they were getting robbed. But it wasn't very godly also. I feel like if I'm getting robbed, like I should be like, now, come on, my brother. What's, what's taking you through life to get you here, King? Looking to the lights.

• 39:54Speaker 05

You start praying. As soon as someone comes in your church and you're on the pulpit and they're trying to do some shit. I'm, Jesus, Jesus, Jesus, Jesus, Jesus, Jesus. That's what I'm doing. Father God, throw the bottle of blessed oil at them. Get them. In the name. You got a tambourine? Throw it.

• 40:11Laci Mosley?

He was giving Rob, like, he was like on the block. Like, you know, it was giving very much like power, ghost book of crack four, you know? He's like, hey, my man, hey, my man.

• 40:22Speaker 05

He was not of God in that situation.

• 40:24Laci Mosley?

That was not a, I, I've seen people get robbed more godly than that, I'm just gonna say.

• 40:29Speaker 05

There is a godly way to get robbed. There is a godly way to get robbed.

• 40:32Laci Mosley?

Yeah. This ain't it. So the thieves escaped outside on Resmen Avenue and have yet to be found. Curious. A week later, Bishop Whitehead reenacted the robbery twice, dressed in a bandana, yellow Gucci suit. Yes, okay.

• 40:48Speaker 05

  Twice, twice.

• 40:49Laci Mosley?

  Reenact one.

• 40:50Speaker 05

  Twice. Why? Why?

• 40:55Laci Mosley?

The question we may never know.

• 40:57Speaker 05

  Never know.

• 40:58Laci Mosley?

Okay. Why is the sky blue? You know, there's some things are just gonna perplex us. So with Bishop Whitehead seemingly unfazed and continued to flash his expensive wardrobe, questions began popping up about the robbery. Why would a preacher with a tiny congregation preaching in a tiny space above a Haitian restaurant have potentially one million dollars in jewelry on his person? Was.

• 41:24Speaker 05

Also, wait, stop. I didn't know this restaurant was, this church was above a Haitian restaurant. So you got all this money for jewelry? You can't get a real building? My dog.

• 41:34Laci Mosley?

I mean, but you know how churches would be in their, like, areas like that in Brooklyn or even in LA.

• 41:39Speaker 05

Space is tight, space is tight, I know, but still.

• 41:41Laci Mosley?

It'll be like at the retail place where you like walk up to a nail salon and you just hear, Jesus.

• 41:47Speaker 05

See, I grew up in Texas with freestanding churches.

• 41:50Laci Mosley?

  Okay, same.

• 41:51Speaker 05

  All right.

• 41:51Laci Mosley?

But I've passed a lot of, you know, bodega churches.

• 41:55Speaker 05

Bodega churches, yes. Where are you from?

• 41:58Laci Mosley?

  I'm from Dallas.

• 41:59Speaker 05

  Oh, San Antonio.

• 42:00Laci Mosley?

Okay, what are we doing down there, river walking?

• 42:02Speaker 05

Yes, we do. Eating, eating, eating our tacos, drinking our beer, river walking.

• 42:07Laci Mosley?

  And river walking.

• 42:08Speaker 05

  River walking, river talking.

• 42:09Laci Mosley?

Every day, every day. I'm from Frisco. I can say that now because of Cowboys stadium.

• 42:15Speaker 05

Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, okay, okay.

• 42:16Laci Mosley?

Yeah, we just be going by there thinking about winning one day, you know?

• 42:20Speaker 05

Well, I remember being young in the heyday of the Cowboys, Aikman, Emmitt Smith and them, they were like America's team.

• 42:26Laci Mosley?

Yeah, I mean, we are still America's team. We're not, well, we're not going to, so anyways.

• 42:32Speaker 05

  We digress.

• 42:33Laci Mosley?

So that was, um, above a Haitian restaurant.

• 42:37Speaker 05

I love you, Troy Aikman and Emmitt Smith.

• 42:39Laci Mosley?

So they were above this Haitian restaurant, which is also hilarious to me because I know it was hot over there. It was not giving AC and it's just like you're smelling.

• 42:47Speaker 05

Also, you know who would have stopped the robbers?

• 42:50Laci Mosley?

  The Haitian?

• 42:51Speaker 05

The Haitian restaurant staffers. I feel like, maybe.

• 42:56Laci Mosley?

  I don't know.

• 43:01Laci Mosley?

Ah, they might have been one of them. So, why was his reaction during the robbery and fast reflexes so planned?

• 43:11Speaker 05

He also, as a, as a leader of that church, took no action to protect his.

• 43:15Laci Mosley?

  Anybody in the church.

• 43:17Speaker 05

It was just him, taking care of him.

• 43:19Laci Mosley?

And above all, was all the jewelry insured? Hmm.

• 43:24Speaker 05

Was all the jury actually worth the million dollars like you're saying?

• 43:27Laci Mosley?

And was, oh, that's, oh, that's another one. So, but if it's insured, then it would, the worth would be proven.

• 43:33Speaker 05

  Yes.

• 43:34Laci Mosley?

So, all the same time, Moore was coming out about his past and many discovered that he owed hundreds of thousands of dollars to many people, including more than $400,000 to a construction, a construction company that built his $1.64 million New Jersey house. As it turns out, the bishop of bling might be a much bigger thief. So, he got a $1.2 million house and then the congregation has to come do praise and worship over a Haitian restaurant.

• 44:02Speaker 05

He's also like been in jail for like some financial crimes, right? Was there like an identity theft or something? I want to say that like when I was reading one of these articles, they're like, oh yeah, he got locked up for like, identity theft or some kind of fraud before.

• 44:16Laci Mosley?

So, Lamar Miller Whitehead grew up in Brooklyn, New York. Lamar, or excuse me, Lamar is the bishop.

• 44:23Speaker 05

  Okay, okay.

• 44:24Laci Mosley?

We're just gonna call him bishop.

• 44:26Speaker 05

  Bishop Gucci.

• 44:27Laci Mosley?

  Bishop Gucci. Bishop Gucci. Oh.

• 44:31Speaker 05

  Brother Gucci.

• 44:32Laci Mosley?

Yes. Amen. Bishop, Bishop Gucci. Grew up in Brooklyn, New York. His father was Arthur Miller, a man murdered by police officers in 1978 when he attempted to defuse the situation between the officers and an unrelated motorists. His death led to several protests and marches on City Hall. At the time, Lamar was just a baby and look more as Bishop Gucci. As an adult, Bishop Gucci also studied accounting and videography at the Eastern New Mexico University, before returning to Brooklyn to work as a mortgage broker in Manhattan. But his path to success would soon take a left turn to a different kind of life. Oh, not your life being like skr skr.

• 45:17Laci Mosley?

In 2005, a woman filed a report with the Suffolk County Police saying someone had used her personal information to purchase a motorcycle in Brooklyn in her name. A few days later, the motorcycle was found with the 27-year-old Bishop Gucci riding it.

• 45:32Speaker 05

  Stop.

• 45:33Laci Mosley?

I won't, I won't lie, when I first started reading that sentence and it said a woman reported, I was like, oh no, Bishop Gucci, don't, don't be no beater or abuser. And then it said stole her motorcycle.

• 45:44Speaker 05

I'm like, I'm okay with that.

• 45:45Laci Mosley?

  I'm like, oh, okay, okay.

• 45:47Speaker 05

  Who among us?

• 45:48Laci Mosley?

  Who among us?

• 45:52Speaker 05

  I too want a motorcycle.

• 45:53Laci Mosley?

Right. How am I, how else am I gonna get it?

• 45:55Speaker 05

  Yeah.

• 45:56Laci Mosley?

If I don't have a card, I take some ladies card. It sounds good to me.

• 46:00Speaker 05

  Right, right.

• 46:01Laci Mosley?

  But I hate how I was relieved. I was like, oh, he's a, he's a good guy.

• 46:03Speaker 05

Could be worse, could be worse.

• 46:04Laci Mosley?

He's a good guy. So during the following investigation, police found a much wider web of identity theft and deception.

• 46:11Speaker 05

That's what I thought I had seen. I, cuz I saw, well, The Times when they went deep on this guy, I was like, oh yeah, he's an identity thief.

• 46:19Laci Mosley?

  Mm-hmm.

• 46:20Speaker 05

And listen, the lore can save anybody.

• 46:21Laci Mosley?

  Mm-hmm.

• 46:22Speaker 05

But odds are, an identity thief don't really wanna be saved.

• 46:29Laci Mosley?

  I mean.

• 46:29Speaker 05

  I'm just saying, now.

• 46:31Laci Mosley?

You do save a lot of money when you do identity theft.

• 46:34Speaker 05

How do you, you speak, are you speaking from expertise?

• 46:37Laci Mosley?

It's, I'm speaking logically. If I'm stealing all my money from identity theft, then I am saving a lot of my own personal money by using others, by pretending to be them.

• 46:46Speaker 05

And you know what the real scam is? He did all this identity thieving, and then he got to go to prison for free. Free roof over his head, meals every day.

• 46:56Laci Mosley?

So who really got scammed? Also, what is robbery but like borrowing?

• 47:01Speaker 05

  Redistribution of wealth.

• 47:02Laci Mosley?

  Yes.

• 47:03Speaker 05

  There we go.

• 47:04Laci Mosley?

So during the following investigation, now they gonna start finding all this stuff. He was using personal information stolen from his girlfriend's computer.

• 47:12Speaker 05

  Oh, yeah.

• 47:13Laci Mosley?

Bishop Gucci stole the identities of at least a dozen people in order to take out loans to buy cars. I can't believe this, and motorcycles. The subsequent trial took place, it took, well, it took months of preparation first, but um, instead of working on his case while they're like, you know.

• 47:32Speaker 05

  Yeah.

• 47:32Laci Mosley?

Basically, they pulled up and like Bishop Gucci is over for you, let the church say amen.

• 47:36Speaker 05

  Amen.

• 47:36Laci Mosley?

Okay, can we get the usher word to usher Mr. Gucci the fuck up out of here? Yeah.

• 47:41Speaker 05

What song would they play while they marched him out? Oh, when the saints go marching, not even in.

• 47:46Laci Mosley?

No, doesn't it have to be? We fall down, but we get up.

• 47:52Speaker 05

Cuz that song can go as long as you need it to.

• 47:54Laci Mosley?

  Yep.

• 47:54Speaker 05

  Twelve minutes.

• 47:55Laci Mosley?

And it's motivational for if you're a criminal, then you'd be like, for a saint is just a saint. So he's lowkey still being passive aggressive. He's like, for a saint is just a sinner bitch.

• 48:05Speaker 05

Look at me, look at me.

• 48:07Laci Mosley?

If I'm not a saint, you not a saint.

• 48:12Laci Mosley?

That's definitely the song that he gets kicked out of church too. And it's beautiful. So yeah, he gets kicked out of church doing this fraud, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. So he's doing the money laundering. He's stealing. He's got a four year run for fraud. It's basically comes to a halt in around 2006 when he files for bankruptcy. In 2008, he was finally convicted of 17 counts of identity theft.

• 48:34Speaker 05

  Seventeen.

• 48:36Laci Mosley?

And sentenced to 10 to 30 years in prison.

• 48:41Speaker 05

  Well, he didn't serve 30.

• 48:42Laci Mosley?

  No.

• 48:43Speaker 05

  The Lord smiled upon him.

• 48:45Laci Mosley?

  Amen.

• 48:48Laci Mosley?

Said, I didn't go to prison. I went to connect directly to God's most in need.

• 48:54Speaker 05

Trying to save the prisoners, y'all. I went in to minister.

• 48:58Laci Mosley?

Sound like y'all too good to spread God's word. Would it sound like to me? It sound like I don't want to come on A block.

• 49:04Speaker 05

Uh huh, uh huh. But Bishop Gucci goes where the need is. He saw a need in the prison.

• 49:13Laci Mosley?

If he came out and gave that sermon.

• 49:14Speaker 05

  Lord sent me.

• 49:16Laci Mosley?

I'd be like, yeah, Bishop Gucci, yeah, save them, save them. So he, he was sentenced to the time prison. He served for the lawsuit brought by Maestro Maximo. Serving sentence was like Sing Sing. Oh my gosh, he had to serve in Sing Sing Correctional Facility. So Lamar, AKA Bishop Gucci, was ending his time in jail in July 2013 on good behavior. Having had used a lot of his time in jail to thoroughly study the Bible and seemingly find God. So he then also took his godliness around prison. So.

• 49:51Speaker 05

  Witnessing to the saints.

• 49:52Laci Mosley?

  Mm hmm.

• 49:53Speaker 05

  In the A, B, and C block.

• 49:55Laci Mosley?

I imagine his parole hearing was very lit.

• 49:58Speaker 05

Oh, you know, he was testifying.

• 49:59Laci Mosley?

And now I have something on my soul.

• 50:04Laci Mosley?

Can I clink these handcuffs together? Is that? No, okay, okay.

• 50:09Speaker 05

Make a tambourine with the handcuffs.

• 50:10Laci Mosley?

Right. The tambourine handcuff. Oh, I'm going to hell for that. But, you know, he got everybody to get him out of prison. He excited. I'm here for him and all of this. So several weeks later, Leaders of Tomorrow Ministry was born. Several weeks, he wasted no time. So with a congregation of forty-three people.

• 50:32Speaker 05

  Listen.

• 50:33Laci Mosley?

  Wow.

• 50:34Speaker 05

Where two or three saints are gathered in the midst.

• 50:36Laci Mosley?

  Right, that's all you need.

• 50:38Speaker 05

  Yeah.

• 50:40Laci Mosley?

And these people seemingly met him at his home just for Bible study, but he was like, nah, this is a church. They thought the same were meeting for Bible study.

• 50:50Speaker 05

Y'all were meeting for his tax exempt status. That's what y'all were meeting for.

• 50:53Laci Mosley?

He was like, hey, y'all, can y'all just sign here to y'all read the Bible this week?

• 50:56Speaker 05

Uh huh, uh huh, uh huh.

• 50:58Laci Mosley?

  That's all.

• 50:58Speaker 05

Thank you. Signed it twice even, maybe.

• 51:00Laci Mosley?

Right. So in a recent interview, Bishop Gucci said regarding, like, this is regarding his new path. "I have a calling and I had to do what I had to do. As soon as I came home, it was on."

• 51:15Speaker 05

  Wow.

• 51:16Laci Mosley?

You know how God be talking like that, like?

• 51:18Speaker 05

God be like, yeah, it's on, bro.

• 51:20Laci Mosley?

Nah, it's on, bruh. Sunday, Sunday.

• 51:22Speaker 05

I'm about to heal some sick. I'm about to raise some dead. I'm about to make some fishes and loaves, my dog.

• 51:27Laci Mosley?

Sunday, turn up. Y'all sipping over water, y'all sipping on water over here. We got this wine.

• 51:32Speaker 05

We speaking these tongues, bruh. Get up on that.

• 51:36Laci Mosley?

I like that. How y'all been singing in tongues, bruh? But you on. I got your bitch washing my feet, son.

• 51:46Laci Mosley?

With her hair, what's good? Oh, God, was she was rapping on some time?

• 51:50Speaker 05

  Mary Magdalene.

• 51:51Laci Mosley?

  Okay. Street snow.

• 51:54Speaker 05

She got that lean. I'm gonna stop.

• 51:57Laci Mosley?

I got, we have to stop. Man, I have one more.

• 51:59Speaker 05

Do it, don't go, do it, do it, do it, do it.

• 52:02Laci Mosley?

Dick so good, I don't even touch her, she get pregnant. Boo. Boo, I should have quit while I was there.

• 52:08Speaker 05

First and first, my dog. First and first.

• 52:10Laci Mosley?

Clean it up for me, Sam. Clean it up.

• 52:11Speaker 05

I like it. I like it dirty. I like it dirty.

• 52:14Laci Mosley?

Nuttered in with my mind. Oh, God.

• 52:20Laci Mosley?

  How did we get here?

• 52:22Speaker 05

Let's stay here, I like it, it's a good place to be.

• 52:26Laci Mosley?

So, Lord Jesus, we're getting to the end of this. The bling bishop, so we, we've seen his criminal past. He was out here doing all types of fraud, buying whips, buying jewelry, et cetera, et cetera. So now he's emerged from that past, or he now has a church, which is unsuspecting people. They thought that we're going to a bible study, which I'm gonna start doing. I'm gonna start doing Funko Night Weekly. I'll go. And I'm gonna have everyone sign up. Yeah, we're gonna play games and drink wine, but it is a church. You'll never know it.

• 52:58Speaker 05

  Sign me up.

• 52:59Laci Mosley?

No one said we had to talk about God, we just had to assemble, right?

• 53:03Speaker 05

  There you go.

• 53:03Laci Mosley?

  Like, Lizzy really...

• 53:04Speaker 05

We'll get the aura of God, the number of God.

• 53:07Laci Mosley?

She really loves steeples now. She like bought a house with a steeple.

• 53:12Speaker 05

  It's beautiful.

• 53:14Laci Mosley?

That's my decor choice now, cuz I want a part of this. So, he is the bishop now, he has his small little church. Um, at the end of his sermons, the bishop, we call Bishop Gucci. Bishop Gucci Whitehead is also known to run an auction of donations, inviting members to sew with their tithes, starting at one thousand or five hundred.

• 53:38Speaker 05

  An auction?

• 53:40Laci Mosley?

  Yes.

• 53:41Speaker 05

  An auction?

• 53:42Laci Mosley?

  Yes.

• 53:43Speaker 05

Now, if you're, and one of the few stories...

• 53:45Laci Mosley?

  An auction of donations, so...

• 53:47Speaker 05

  How does that work?

• 53:48Laci Mosley?

So that's when you yell out a donation amount.

• 53:53Speaker 05

So one member gives the can of soup to the church, and then the pastor has other folks bid on the can of soup? Is it that kinda situation?

• 54:06Laci Mosley?

Okay, so, um, let me try to, let me try to run this out. Though the people, you know, were critical about, about the wealth that he displays, his supporters supported his preaching, the prosperity gospel, a philosophy that emphasizes the material benefits of maintaining a relationship with God. So his big thing is like, if you love God.

• 54:29Speaker 05

  You'll be prosperous.

• 54:30Laci Mosley?

Yeah, God gonna give you a rack or a boat, you know?

• 54:33Speaker 05

Or a full body Gucci suit in yellow.

• 54:35Laci Mosley?

Full body Gucci suit in yellow. So, at the end of the sermon, he's like, alright y'all, it's time for us to get our relationship closer with God. So everybody, y'all need to sow your tithes to get your relationship closer. So then people start tithing at a thousand and five hundred. When no one takes an envelope, he suggests less until someone comes forward. So he got envelopes like this.

• 55:02Speaker 05

  Yeah.

• 55:03Laci Mosley?

And he writes outside of the envelope, one thousand dollars.

• 55:08Speaker 05

And he's like, can I get a one thousand?

• 55:09Laci Mosley?

And he holds it up. And he says, can I get a one thousand for God? This is an empty envelope. Will you put one thousand dollars inside of it for me now? For God?

• 55:24Speaker 05

This is where the, this is where the, this is, this is why I'm so mad about it. And it's funny, but I'm mad. The definition of tithing biblically is just 10%. Just 10%. You make a thousand dollars or a hundred thousand. 10% and then you should be good.

• 55:41Laci Mosley?

But are you trying to get your money out with God? Because with God.

• 55:44Speaker 05

I'm not. Give me some money, Jesus.

• 55:47Laci Mosley?

That ain't hard work, cuz. If you want money from Jesus, you gotta invest until six of your friends.

• 55:53Speaker 05

Wow, that's some Herbalife shit. This is some pyramid scheme.

• 55:57Laci Mosley?

So he holds up the thousand dollar envelope, but then when nobody responds, he's like, hello?

• 56:02Speaker 05

  Maybe five hundred.

• 56:03Laci Mosley?

Alright, five hundred. Five hundred, come on, y'all play.

• 56:07Speaker 05

  That is so sad.

• 56:07Laci Mosley?

Y'all don't, y'all don't want good things to happen in your life?

• 56:09Speaker 05

  That is so sad.

• 56:10Laci Mosley?

And he goes down. And so apparently, he would do this until whatever amount of money made someone come up and sow into their tithes. So, it's unclear exactly where these donations go, but Bishop Whitehead says he does not make money as a bishop.

• 56:32Speaker 05

And where the, where the yellow Gucci had the tosue come from?

• 56:35Laci Mosley?

Probably stole fraud. He's like, he's like, look, guys, I do fraud. I don't have to, I don't have to steal from the Lord. When I can steal from y'all?

• 56:48Laci Mosley?

Y'all not God. I ain't never once took something from God.

• 56:52Speaker 05

Took his name in vain. Tell you that.

• 56:54Laci Mosley?

So, I just love auctioning the opportunity to give someone else money.

• 57:00Speaker 05

  And that is a scam.

• 57:02Laci Mosley?

Going to do that now. I'm gonna figure out a way to do it myself personally because I deserve that.

• 57:05Speaker 05

  You deserve that.

• 57:06Laci Mosley?

Who wants to give me money? Who out there wants to be the lucky person?

• 57:10Speaker 05

What, what's your starting amount? What's your starting figure?

• 57:13Laci Mosley?

Oh my God, my starting figure? I gotta start at a million.

• 57:18Speaker 05

Oh, I'm sitting there thinking, what would I start at? And be like, oh, an Uber Eats gift card? I don't know.

• 57:23Laci Mosley?

Oh, you starting way too low, Sam. You starting way too low. And look, I don't think I'm gonna get a million, but if I don't try.

• 57:29Speaker 05

  Dream big. Dream big.

• 57:31Laci Mosley?

  Right?

• 57:31Speaker 05

  I hear you. Yeah.

• 57:33Laci Mosley?

What do you say, guys, to the, to the chance of giving me a million dollars? That's it, though.

• 57:37Speaker 05

We're watching the team in the control room shrug their shoulders.

• 57:41Laci Mosley?

Wow, none of y'all? Wow. That hurts my feelings, honestly. I'm hurt. Y'all don't think I'm worth a million dollars? You don't want to auction the opportunity to give it to me?

• 57:52Speaker 05

I mean, every human is priceless. Existentially.

• 57:56Laci Mosley?

I mean, the government says we're worth like ten million each.

• 57:59Speaker 05

  Oh, really? Okay.

• 58:00Laci Mosley?

So, I mean, so it's likely unclear where these donations go. However, he does make money. He doesn't seem to be doing it very well. In 2019, there was a $68,000 lawsuit brought against him um, for not making monthly payments on his Mercedes Benz and Range Rover in New Jersey.

• 58:18Speaker 05

  And Range Rover.

• 58:19Laci Mosley?

Because you know, if you can't afford one really expensive car, you have to get another.

• 58:24Speaker 05

Well, there's one for you and there's one for Jesus, right?

• 58:27Laci Mosley?

Right. And he takes the wheel. We have songs.

• 58:30Speaker 05

Jesus will take the wheel, but he will not pay the car note.

• 58:33Laci Mosley?

Yeah, what's up with that? What's up with that Jesus?

• 58:36Speaker 05

  Come on, Jesus.

• 58:36Laci Mosley?

He said, I said I would take the wheel. I never said I was taking responsibility. That's why y'all don't listen. That's why I'm not coming back.

• 58:47Laci Mosley?

So the same year, a hundred sixty-four thousand dollar check was written to the company that built his Paramus, New Jersey home, and it bounced. In 2020, a woman named Pauline Anderson had connected with the Bishop Whitehead, uh, AKA Pastor Gucci. She was a parishioner, uh, or excuse me, parishioner, and was still recovering from a life-threatening surgery. Eventually, Pauline went to the bishop for assistance and finding, oh no, she went to the bishop and looks to get help to buy a new home because she had bad credit. He said he would help her invest her money, all ninety thousand dollars from her retirement fund.

• 59:23Speaker 05

  No.

• 59:24Laci Mosley?

Mm-hmm. And his firm, Lamor Whitehead, AKA Bishop Gucci.

• 59:29Speaker 05

  Bishop Gucci.

• 59:30Laci Mosley?

Bishop Gang Gang Incorporated. She was initially reluctant, as this was her only income, but Bishop Gucci offered to send her a hundred dollars in a monthly allowance while he found her a home.

• 59:43Speaker 05

A monthly allowance of a hundred dollars?

• 59:46Laci Mosley?

  Mm-hmm.

• 59:47Speaker 05

From the guy who brought you the thousand-dollar auction in the church house?

• 59:51Laci Mosley?

  Yeah.

  Hellcat fish dinner. Fishy.

• 59:57Laci Mosley?

The first payment was made, but then Bishop Whitehead disappeared and did not continue. Uh-uh.

• 1:00:03Speaker 05

He couldn't even give her a hundred dollars a month.

• 1:00:06Laci Mosley?

Okay, come on now, you could've gave her a hundred dollars some money.

• 1:00:10Speaker 05

  This makes me mad.

• 1:00:12Laci Mosley?

  He's not a good person.

• 1:00:13Speaker 05

This makes me mad, and it's like, anyways, go ahead.

• 1:00:16Laci Mosley?

Eventually, he told Pauline that he was treating her as an, her, this doesn't even mean not being able to read it. It's just a very funny thing to tell someone. So, eventually, Bishop Gucci told Pauline that he was treating her investment as a donation to his-

• 1:00:41Speaker 05

That's not how it works, my dog.

• 1:00:45Speaker 05

No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no.

• 1:00:49Laci Mosley?

I will be treating all of my investments as a donation from here on out. If you give me anything.

• 1:00:55Speaker 05

Student loans, that money y'all let me, that was a donation.

• 1:00:58Laci Mosley?

This sweater that you let me borrow last night.

• 1:01:02Speaker 05

  American Express?

• 1:01:04Laci Mosley?

A donation. Like, bitch, how you gonna reframe the narrative? So at the same time, so then he's talking about, I'm running for president.

• 1:01:12Speaker 05

  Of what?

• 1:01:14Laci Mosley?

He just said for a little dazzle-dazzle, and that's why he's keeping Pauline's donation and why she can't even have a hundred dollars. Oh, I feel so bad. So at the same time, the bishop also wanted to send Pauline, now Pauline's the one who got robbed. He wants to send her son a contract detailing that he was about to buy a 4.4 million dollar house in New Jersey with a pool and a gym and a cellar, and the sale had never went through. So she, he had gassed up her whole family, basically, because he's like sending her son, like, being like, look. He was like, I'm about to buy this house, look up, there's the house.

• 1:01:48Speaker 05

  Oh.

• 1:01:49Laci Mosley?

He was like, I'm about to cop this house. I have all this money, like, she should invest with me, I'm gonna give her, he didn't even Ponzi scheme her good. Like, he gave her one payment of the Ponzi scheme and then stole the rest.

• 1:02:01Speaker 05

Church folks, y'all gotta do better. You gotta be on the lookout.

• 1:02:04Laci Mosley?

It's a cult, y'all, come on. In December 2021, he borrowed 4.1 million dollars from a Brooklyn mortgage company.

• 1:02:12Speaker 05

Loan? He had just declared bankruptcy and was it, oh, I guess that stuff scrubs off in seven years.

• 1:02:18Laci Mosley?

Uh, yeah, but I don't think it had been that long. I can't. So wrapping this up, in January 2021, he posted Facebook videos in front of an apartment complex, offering real estate classes and signing up through the church email address. And there is no website for Whitehead Estates, even though that's, um, what he's talking about. Don't, don't be on the internet looking for.

• 1:02:42Speaker 05

Can't find them. You can't find them. Wow.

• 1:02:44Laci Mosley?

  Don't ask, okay?

• 1:02:46Speaker 05

I'm so, my heart goes out for these church folks.

• 1:02:50Laci Mosley?

And this is the video, we have it snippet of it, it is short, but it's, it's really painful. Can we zoom in?

• 1:02:55Speaker 05

  Whitehead Estates Real Estate.

• 1:02:56Laci Mosley?

Because he's like, with this other man. If this is the one that I saw.

• 1:03:05Laci Mosley?

Uh, pretty dead. Oh, so this is him showing his estates that he doesn't own.

• 1:03:10Speaker 05

And this, that's a Lambo SUV.

• 1:03:12Laci Mosley?

Yes, that one owns, you know.

• 1:03:16Speaker 05

Oh, he don't own that. You know he don't own that. Did he just rev it up as he parked?

• 1:03:19Laci Mosley?

You know how you rev it.

• 1:03:20Speaker 05

We back. There's your white head, y'all. Y'all see Whitehead Estates? Listen, I'm telling y'all, join my real estate class. Oh my god. It started February the 5th. Oh. I'm going to show you how to buy and flip, how to buy complexes, apartment complexes, renovating. You know, last I checked, the Bible said the primary, the primary concern of housing should be housing the homeless, not flipping the house. Follow me.

• 1:03:45Laci Mosley?

Alright, but we gonna flip it to some home, some homeless people.

• 1:03:49Speaker 05

Yeah, or make some people homeless in the process. Wow. Okay, here's my question for you.

• 1:03:54Laci Mosley?

  Mm-hmm.

• 1:03:56Speaker 05

How do people get played by that kind of tomfoolery?

• 1:04:00Laci Mosley?

  Because of aspirational culture.

• 1:04:03Speaker 05

  Yeah.

• 1:04:03Laci Mosley?

You look at him and he's showing you the life you want to have and he's telling you he knows how to do it.

• 1:04:09Speaker 05

See, but we look at the wrong stuff. They looking at Gucci suits and Lambo SUVs. What I want to see, your credit score, your credit report.

• 1:04:17Laci Mosley?

  But listen, a lot of-

• 1:04:17Speaker 05

  A background check.

• 1:04:18Laci Mosley?

Now, credit, well, like, credit scores.

• 1:04:21Speaker 05

Credit can be a scam. I get that.

• 1:04:22Laci Mosley?

You know, they came about in 1989. And who made those up? And for what benefit? To keep us all in debt.

• 1:04:28Speaker 05

But, it would have been a red flag because you know his score is negative 12.

• 1:04:32Laci Mosley?

  Oh, yeah, for sure.

• 1:04:33Speaker 05

  Negative 12.

• 1:04:34Laci Mosley?

It's honestly a red flag for me anytime I see people holding lots of cash in photos. Because I mean, they're like, you are taking pictures with cash because you don't see cash that often and you're like, I gotta commemorate this moment.

• 1:04:44Speaker 05

All this to say, just, this man is screaming red flags.

• 1:04:47Laci Mosley?

Or you can't put your cash in any institutions because it's gonna set off several federal alarms.

• 1:04:52Speaker 05

Uh-huh. That's, you know, is there a moral to this story besides, watch out, y'all don't get played?

• 1:04:58Laci Mosley?

I mean, he's still out here. So meanwhile, the bishop has continued to livestream his services, including the service where he was robbed on livestream. Because you know how you be getting robbed on livestream. Like, as soon as you set up your camera, then all of a sudden you get robbed. And he maintains that everybody sues people from here on out. It is what it is. My church was robbed, I was robbed, I'm the victim. So he's saying when it came out the woodwork that he is being sued by the girlies for taking their investments and making them donations.

• 1:05:32Speaker 05

  Just fraud.

• 1:05:33Laci Mosley?

Everybody gets sued every now and then it makes investments donations.

• 1:05:38Speaker 05

  Everybody, everybody.

• 1:05:40Laci Mosley?

He's like, I'm the victim. It's like, I don't know. I think that you have to be quiet because when you're playing this game, sometimes you're the mark and sometimes you're, you know, the scammer. So.

• 1:05:51Speaker 05

Sometimes you're getting scammed and sometimes you're wearing the full body yellow Gucci suit.

• 1:05:55Laci Mosley?

Yeah, like take out the chin, my guy. Charge, charge into the game. Amen. Well, guys, we are here. We've arrived at the saddest part of the show.

• 1:06:04Speaker 05

What's the saddest part of the show? Oh, I know. This was really fun.

• 1:06:07Laci Mosley?

To let Sam go, but before we let you go, we just like to highlight one person who we love, or maybe we hate, scammer of the week. And this week, that is, y'all, y'all have been, and Sam, I already know you gonna know. Y'all have been on the TikToks, the Instagrams, the, all the DMs, sending carrier pigeons to let me know about Chef P and her pink sauce.

• 1:06:31Speaker 05

Sauce. You know what? I wanted to feel really, well, first set it up.

• 1:06:37Laci Mosley?

So on TikTok, which is a place where you can learn all types of things and also spreads a ton of misinformation. There was a woman who took the world by storm named Chef P. She created a dark pink sauce that instantly went viral as she dipped it into all your favorite fast food. Honestly, she dipped the sauce into any goddamn thing. And one time I saw her dip it into a burrito taco. But Taco Bell, KFC, just, yeah, anywhere.

• 1:07:14Speaker 05

And like, it, it, it looks like Pepto Bismol, but it's a savory sauce almost in the aioli family?

• 1:07:21Laci Mosley?

So she uses dragon fruit, which everybody knows, and I've said this time and time, a fucking get, dragon fruit, you're a fucking scam. You're way too expensive. You don't taste like shit. You're just in here being a bad bitch and not contributing anything to society. So she uses that color to get that really bright pink, but it doesn't really add like a distinctive flavor.

• 1:07:42Speaker 05

So it's like any other sauce, but it's pink?

• 1:07:44Laci Mosley?

  Yes.

• 1:07:45Speaker 05

And like, that? Is okay. You're making pink sauce in your house. You eat it. You like it. That's okay. I think the scam came about when her TikToks blew up and she wanted to sell it everywhere.

• 1:07:57Laci Mosley?

  Yes.

• 1:07:57Speaker 05

  Had no such infrastructure.

• 1:07:59Laci Mosley?

  No.

• 1:07:59Speaker 05

And turns out when she began to bottle the pink sauce, every bottle was a different kind of pink.

• 1:08:04Laci Mosley?

Yes, there was not much quality control coming out of her literal kitchen. Uh, also she was not adding any ice packs or dry ice to send out a content or a um sauce that definitely contains dairy.

• 1:08:18Speaker 05

So it came to people's houses like exploded.

• 1:08:19Laci Mosley?

  Record heat.

• 1:08:21Speaker 05

And apparently the nutritional facts, which you're showing up here on the screen, were just wrong.

• 1:08:26Laci Mosley?

So this was a nutritional fact that she um, we talk about on the show a lot. You gotta know Photoshop, Photoshop guys. She went directly to Pinterest and no, this is literally from Pinterest. Uh, and she got the template, the nutrition facts template. And then she decided to just give it a little dazzle dazzle. Um, there's some typos, uh, that instead of vinegar, her sauce apparently has vinegar.

• 1:08:53Speaker 05

Which, which, listen, I don't like that.

• 1:08:56Laci Mosley?

I don't know. I like that. What's up my vinegar?

• 1:09:02Laci Mosley?

I don't know. That might taste different.

• 1:09:03Speaker 05

  You know?

• 1:09:04Laci Mosley?

I might need to know what sauce about.

• 1:09:06Speaker 05

Here's my thing with it though. Had she just kept it small scale and sold it like at the cookout in her town? Or sold it like at the little county fair? I'm fine with that. The problem was trying to scale. If you're gonna scale, it has to be legit. It has to be for real. It has to go through the quality control. She wasn't, she didn't know how to scale, so I almost feel like she got caught up and was in over her head. That said, she reacted in the definitively wrong way.

• 1:09:38Laci Mosley?

No, absolutely not. I mean, so she.

• 1:09:42Laci Mosley?

Her ingredient like, the ingredient labels say she has pink Himalayan sea salt, which in itself is not a thing because Himalayan salt, I believe, comes like from rocks, like on the ground, it's not distilled from the water.

• 1:09:57Speaker 05

  Yeah.

• 1:09:57Laci Mosley?

If I'm not wrong about that. Citric acid, milk, and vinegar, we already talked about that. Uh, in regards to taste, though the creator herself has said she has difficulty describing it, she says, some users have said it's a little sweet, it's a little tangy, it's a little garlicky. She's selling these at twenty dollars a pop and customers have raised several concerns regarding what we were just talking about, the quality and the safety of the product. It's been shipped unrefrigerated with inconsistent colors, nonexistent expiration dates. It's said to contain milk and raw garlic, which unrefrigerated.

• 1:10:32Speaker 05

  That's not a good situation.

• 1:10:33Laci Mosley?

Without a exped- yeah, without expiration date, causes botulism. There's also major inconsistencies we talked about with the color. Also, some people getting that thicky thick, they getting that thick, and then other bottles are getting that watery, they getting that water.

• 1:10:48Laci Mosley?

I can do that with two different songs.

• 1:10:50Speaker 05

I love it, I love it.

• 1:10:51Laci Mosley?

But um, yeah, some people are like, I got that water, and it's like, what is going on? Additionally, the nutrition label says the bottle contained four hundred and forty-four servings of salt.

• 1:11:00Speaker 05

  That's impossible.

• 1:11:02Laci Mosley?

Angel numbers, and ninety calories a serving.

• 1:11:05Speaker 05

So thousands of calories in these bottles.

• 1:11:07Laci Mosley?

  Yes.

• 1:11:07Speaker 05

  Of spoiled milk and garlic.

• 1:11:09Laci Mosley?

Yes, and it should also be a much larger bottle. We have an unboxing here of a pink sauce.

• 1:11:14Speaker 05

  I like the labeling.

• 1:11:16Laci Mosley?

  The labeling is cute.

• 1:11:17Speaker 05

  It's cute.

• 1:11:18Laci Mosley?

And, and here's the thing, it's TikTok, everybody wants to participate in a trend, everyone has FOMO, the pink sauce lady took advantage of that.

• 1:11:25Speaker 05

This is the thing, if I were her, wait until a brand sees your idea, partner with like Nabisco, and let them scale you.

• 1:11:33Laci Mosley?

Yeah. I think she still has a chance here. She had great marketing.

• 1:11:37Speaker 05

  I don't think she has a chance.

• 1:11:39Laci Mosley?

She says, "I can't describe the taste because literally nobody has ever made anything that tastes like this before," which is amazing.

• 1:11:45Speaker 05

Someone else is gonna have to make the pink sauce.

• 1:11:46Laci Mosley?

Someone has to, because that's the thing. If you tell me about a sauce and you can't tell me what it tastes like, people are gonna buy it out of curiosity.

• 1:11:52Speaker 05

  I'm intrigued.

• 1:11:53Laci Mosley?

Because if you like ma- if you don't like mayo, then I'm immediately not gonna be a customer. But if you tell me something like, "Oh, it just tastes like..."

• 1:11:59Speaker 05

  Yeah.

• 1:11:59Laci Mosley?

  "Good."

• 1:12:00Speaker 05

  Yeah.

• 1:12:01Laci Mosley?

  "It just tastes good."

• 1:12:02Speaker 05

Well, this is the thing about all sauces that aren't hot sauce or ketchup. They're either ranch dressing or some kind of mayo.

• 1:12:09Laci Mosley?

  Exactly.

• 1:12:09Speaker 05

  That's really what it is.

• 1:12:10Laci Mosley?

  It is.

• 1:12:11Speaker 05

So tell us what it is. You added food coloring. You know, that's what it is.

• 1:12:14Laci Mosley?

Miss Pink Sauce Lady, uh, you know, I love scammers. I really do. I think you have a lot of potential here.

• 1:12:19Speaker 05

  I don't.

• 1:12:20Laci Mosley?

You know, I just want you to clean up the form a little bit, okay? Make something that's not gonna kill people. Get some real labels. I'm rooting for you, Pink Sauce Girl. I want to see you on Shark Tank.

• 1:12:30Speaker 05

I'm not rooting for her. I mean, I hope she's okay, but there is no rooter in my tutor for her. It's not there.

• 1:12:38Laci Mosley?

Well, look, you're allowed to have that opinion, Sam. And we always ask on this show, "Where would you like to be found? What do you want people to listen to? Where do you see you on social?" All those things.
