• 1:07Connor Wood?

  Hi, Brooke.

• 1:09Brooke Averick?

  Hi, Con.

• 1:09Connor Wood?

  How are you?

• 1:10Brooke Averick?

Good, how are you? It's great to see me, isn't it?

• 1:13Connor Wood?

It's so good to see you outside today. You are so beautiful outside today.

• 1:17Brooke Averick?

  What about today?

• 1:22Connor Wood?

I was kind of doing an inside joke that I only have with myself, so I'm sorry.

• 1:26Brooke Averick?

  No worries.

• 1:26Connor Wood?

It's a caption that I captioned something one time.

• 1:28Brooke Averick?

  Oh, okay.

• 1:47Connor Wood?

I had that old Google phone. Because I didn't want to have an iPhone.

• 1:51Brooke Averick?

Oh, this inside joke goes way back?

• 1:53Connor Wood?

Yeah, I had the Google. I had the Google phone.

• 1:56Brooke Averick?

  Yeah.

• 1:57Connor Wood?

I mean, and obviously Instagram came out the day that I got my first smartphone. It was a Google phone. Talk about buyer's remorse and like your parents got it for you.

• 2:06Brooke Averick?

Yeah, and you have to go on your friends' phones to do Instagram.

• 2:10Connor Wood?

That's a level of like, you feel bad for your parent. Like, you think back and it's like, what was I? They were so excited to get you a present and then you're like, I hate this actually. I need an iPhone, daddy.

• 2:22Brooke Averick?

There was like, nothing more urgent to me than the feeling of needing a new phone in high school. Like, the second that my plan ran up, it ran out, it was like, I'm shaking. Like, the anticipation is almost unbearable. Like, if my mom can't take me to the Verizon store the second school lets out, I will kill myself.

• 2:44Connor Wood?

The way it was the beginning of the end, right there.

• 2:46Brooke Averick?

It was all that mattered. And that's tragic.

• 2:51Connor Wood?

  That's, yeah.

• 2:52Brooke Averick?

But that is, that's something, it was what it was. Like, there's just no denying that, unfortunately, going to the Verizon store to get a new phone was the end-all be-all.

• 3:02Connor Wood?

  It was lit.

• 3:03Brooke Averick?

  It was so fucking lit.

• 3:05Connor Wood?

It was lit as all hell.

• 3:07Brooke Averick?

  I got a new phone.

• 3:09Connor Wood?

  Yeah, I see.

• 3:09Brooke Averick?

Look at mine, I got the cosmic orange.

• 3:11Connor Wood?

  Wow.

• 3:12Brooke Averick?

Yeah. Do you like it or what?

• 3:13Connor Wood?

Yeah, I do like it. It's fun.

• 3:15Brooke Averick?

And I got this octopus case. Listen to this.

• 3:19Connor Wood?

  Okay.

• 3:20Brooke Averick?

I got this octopus case from this brand, I think it's called Pella. Not sure if I'm pronouncing that right. Could be Pel-a. P-E-L-A. And it's sustainable, which is amazing. I didn't do that on purpose, but it's amazing.

• 3:34Brooke Averick?

So it's like an interesting texture and the screen protector, yeah, it's like compostable.

• 3:40Connor Wood?

It's compostable. Oh, it looks it.

• 3:43Brooke Averick?

Yeah, it does. And the screen protector, Connor, is not plastic. It came in a vial, it's a vial of liquid.

• 3:54Brooke Averick?

And it said, rub this on your screen. It was a vial of liquid. Rub it on your screen, you're good to go. There's no fucking way.

• 4:01Connor Wood?

  Is it real?

• 4:03Brooke Averick?

I don't know. It's on my screen. It's just I poured a little bit of liquid on it. And they said, your screen's protected. There's no way, right?

• 4:10Connor Wood?

  Oh, how very.

• 4:11Brooke Averick?

  How would that work?

• 4:12Connor Wood?

  Very funky.

• 4:12Brooke Averick?

But they said if my phone breaks while I'm wearing this case and my water, my liquid screen protector, they will pay for my screen to get fixed. But I don't understand how that little dash of liquid that I spread on with a microfiber cloth is going to prevent my screen from cracking. That feels like sorcery and not only that, but magic.

• 4:34Connor Wood?

  I like that a lot.

• 4:36Brooke Averick?

  I just don't see how

• 4:39Brooke Averick?

  that is possible.

• 4:42Connor Wood?

It's just not for, that's one of those things that's not for us to understand. That's one of those things just slightly out of reach for us.

• 4:48Brooke Averick?

That's one of those things where it's like, you know how in commercials for like skincare, it's like with new technology? And it's like, what do you mean technology?

• 4:55Connor Wood?

  It's liquid. Yeah.

• 4:57Brooke Averick?

I think this might be technology.

• 4:58Connor Wood?

  I remember what.

• 4:59Brooke Averick?

  Liquid technology.

• 5:00Connor Wood?

The only thing that made sense when they were like with technology where this was the little beads that now they're like, that's cancer, by the way. They put little cancers in the goo.

• 5:07Brooke Averick?

  Yeah.

• 5:07Connor Wood?

But I loved those little balls.

• 5:10Brooke Averick?

  Connor?

• 5:11Connor Wood?

  Lather me up.

• 5:12Brooke Averick?

If we could find a way to get the balls back in a way that doesn't hurt the environment.

• 5:17Connor Wood?

  Balls.

• 5:17Brooke Averick?

I would jump in a full tub of balls.

• 5:20Connor Wood?

That of balls for me today, please. A vat of balls for the table.

• 5:24Brooke Averick?

Exfoliating can be such an amazing thing when done right.

• 5:28Connor Wood?

You can, you can catch me in the back of Bed Bath and Beyond, or not Bed Bath and Beyond.

• 5:34Connor Wood?

What is it? What was it called?

• 5:35Brooke Averick?

  Let me know.

• 5:36Connor Wood?

  Oh, my gosh.

• 5:37Brooke Averick?

  Uh, Bath and Body Works.

• 5:38Connor Wood?

Bath and Biscuit. What is it?

• 5:39Brooke Averick?

  Bath and Body Works.

• 5:40Connor Wood?

  Bath and Body Works.

• 5:41Brooke Averick?

  Bed, Bath and Biscuit.

• 5:43Connor Wood?

  That was a, that was.

• 5:44Brooke Averick?

Oh, you must be thinking of nothing but the bun cake.

• 5:51Connor Wood?

  Now I am.

• 5:53Brooke Averick?

  Damn, that's.

• 5:54Connor Wood?

  That's for sure.

• 5:55Brooke Averick?

I ordered one the other day. I had a gummy and I said, I don't have a nothing but the bunt right now.

• 6:02Connor Wood?

I got an itch for the bunt and nothing's gonna scratch it.

• 6:04Brooke Averick?

Forty-five minutes away. I said, no problem.

• 6:07Connor Wood?

  I'll be here.

• 6:07Brooke Averick?

Fifteen dollar delivery fee. See if I give a fuck.

• 6:10Connor Wood?

I got an itch for the bunt and the only thing that's gonna scratch it, nothing but the bunt.

• 6:14Brooke Averick?

  That cream cheese icing?

• 6:17Connor Wood?

  Hang on.

• 6:17Brooke Averick?

Put it next to the tub of balls? Thanks. I'm diving in that too.

• 6:24Brooke Averick?

My perfect day would be diving into a tub of cream cheese icing and then rinsing it off with ball exfoliation.

• 6:33Connor Wood?

Yeah, so I'm at the mall.

• 6:37Connor Wood?

  Right?

• 6:37Brooke Averick?

  Yes.

• 6:38Connor Wood?

  I'm at.

• 6:40Connor Wood?

  Beyond the, what is it?

• 6:41Brooke Averick?

  Bed, bath and.

• 6:42Connor Wood?

Bath and body works. That went under, by the way, so this is the thing of the past.

• 6:46Brooke Averick?

Bed, bath and body works with the bunt.

• 6:50Connor Wood?

Bath and body works? But also nothing but the bunt. And I'm washing, you used to be able to go there and wash your hands for free. And I used to think that was amazing and I just.

• 7:00Brooke Averick?

And I asked where they charge you to wash your hands?

• 7:02Connor Wood?

I just said that and I said, oh, well, where is it? Oh, my gosh, that was like a really cool thing for us to do and I just realized that we were just in there washing.

• 7:09Brooke Averick?

In Lush too. Did you ever go to Lush?

• 7:11Connor Wood?

Borrowing the soap. Uh, uh, no.

• 7:14Brooke Averick?

Oh, you would have liked Lush.

• 7:16Connor Wood?

  Really?

• 7:17Brooke Averick?

  Yeah.

• 7:17Connor Wood?

  Why?

• 7:19Brooke Averick?

Because it smelled like cancer in a good way.

• 7:24Connor Wood?

  I know what you mean.

• 7:25Brooke Averick?

Do you know what I mean? It was so potent and the, uh, staff there was like so alt-liberal before it was like normalized. So they were so cool. Like the staff at Lush were the first non-binary people. Does that make sense?

• 7:47Connor Wood?

Wait, the staff at Lush threw the first stone?

• 7:50Brooke Averick?

  Yes.

• 7:50Connor Wood?

  Brick?

• 7:51Brooke Averick?

Yes, they like started the movement of like be whatever the fuck you want, man.

• 7:57Connor Wood?

  Lush.

• 7:58Brooke Averick?

  Lush Cosmetics was the pioneer.

• 8:01Connor Wood?

You just have to keep, and this is unrelated, this is just like a sidebar, you gotta keep my horny ass out of Lush because

• 8:07Brooke Averick?

  exploring gender.

• 8:07Connor Wood?

I'm gonna eat the soap. It looks so edible. That was, that was my Tide Pod. I'd walk by and they'd be like, samples, I gotta eat it.

• 8:15Brooke Averick?

Yeah, I totally get that, brother.

• 8:18Connor Wood?

Um, what's going on with, what the hell's going on with you?

• 8:22Brooke Averick?

I actually have a lot to talk about today, but I want to ask why you're here first, because I don't know what you're doing.

• 8:26Connor Wood?

Yeah, Brooke goes, hey, excited to see you, why are you here though as well? So I had a show last night at Cal Poly.

• 8:35Brooke Averick?

  Where is that?

• 8:35Connor Wood?

Which is in San Luis Obispo, which is actually where our brother Dylan is from. And

• 8:40Brooke Averick?

  Yes.

• 8:41Connor Wood?

Who, by the way, spectacular performance last night. I don't know if

• 8:44Brooke Averick?

  Like he is

• 8:46Connor Wood?

Eight, eight, nine and 10 scores.

• 8:49Brooke Averick?

  Think so?

• 8:50Connor Wood?

  Yeah.

• 8:51Brooke Averick?

  He's fabulous.

• 8:52Connor Wood?

He had 36 out of 40, I counted that. Um, yeah, it was, it was amazing, but they all, they're, they all love him up there.

• 8:58Brooke Averick?

Dylan is the kind of guy that is going to give his all to everything.

• 9:02Connor Wood?

  Really, truly.

• 9:03Brooke Averick?

  Truly.

• 9:03Connor Wood?

I hope he doesn't ever lose any sleep. He deserves to sleep soundly at night. I bet he does.

• 9:08Brooke Averick?

I hope he does, yeah. He's so healthy that I'm sure his like

• 9:12Connor Wood?

  Circadian rhythm.

• 9:14Brooke Averick?

  Is like so awesome.

• 9:15Connor Wood?

  Is on.

• 9:16Brooke Averick?

  Yeah.

• 9:16Connor Wood?

Um, so I'm here for that and then I was like, oh, I should.

• 9:22Connor Wood?

I have an event tonight, um, with Wendy's.

• 9:26Brooke Averick?

  Awesome.

• 9:26Connor Wood?

In person. I'm like, okay, that's, that's great. Yeah, I'm gonna go. Did not know until last night that I have to, I have to do stand up.

• 9:35Brooke Averick?

Well, that's a good thing you have a set.

• 9:38Connor Wood?

They needed me to write new stuff, so that's what I'm

• 9:42Brooke Averick?

  There's no way.

• 9:43Connor Wood?

  I'm gonna do that today.

• 9:45Brooke Averick?

  Wow.

• 9:46Connor Wood?

They actually And there's people I know going.

• 9:50Brooke Averick?

Where's this event at Went- like stand-up event?

• 9:52Connor Wood?

  It's in, it's in Torrance.

• 9:55Brooke Averick?

  Where's that?

• 9:56Connor Wood?

  South, by a lot.

• 9:57Brooke Averick?

  Oh.

• 9:58Connor Wood?

  Like 50 minutes.

• 9:59Brooke Averick?

  Oh, by a shit ton.

• 10:00Connor Wood?

So I'm heading down south to do stand-up for Wendy's tonight.

• 10:05Brooke Averick?

  Oh, that's amazing.

• 10:07Connor Wood?

  Yeah, that's something.

• 10:07Brooke Averick?

Not a lot of people have done that.

• 10:08Connor Wood?

No, I'm really, truly like putting a flag on the moon vibes.

• 10:12Brooke Averick?

  Yeah.

• 10:13Connor Wood?

But I drove down this morning from Santa Bar- or from like north of Santa Barbara, from St. Louis, Bispo. I didn't stop to pee once, right?

• 10:22Brooke Averick?

Wow, and that's a lot for you. You pee all the time.

• 10:24Connor Wood?

But then, I'm going to Topanga. I was really blessed by the route gods this morning because I drove through Topanga, which is gorgeous.

• 10:33Brooke Averick?

That makes me think of Danielle, who played Topanga, who got eliminated last night, and that makes me sad. But sorry, continue.

• 10:41Connor Wood?

  Wait, okay, hang on. Actually...

• 10:47Connor Wood?

So yesterday, I get put in this- I'm in this hotel. I feel like I'm gonna get in trouble for this. I get put in this hotel. It's like an older hotel, but it's really gorgeous in downtown St. Louis, Bispo. And it was another one of those hotels where I couldn't find the light switch anywhere for the bathroom, so I was like, "I'll just take a shower in the dark." But it was fun because the bathroom- the shower actually had a window in the shower. And it was cool. It was like a little like this thing. Like you open it.

• 11:11Brooke Averick?

  Yeah.

• 11:11Connor Wood?

Kind of like a little pee hole. And I open it, and there's like this image of this woman that's just like...

• 11:19Connor Wood?

  I kinda like-

• 11:21Brooke Averick?

  Snarling?

• 11:21Connor Wood?

Like a witch. Yeah, and I was like, "Oh, this is so funny. I wanna film this." Cause it's like, I'm in the shower, like it's dark. Fear not, there's this pee hole to this image of this woman. "Wait, you know, why are you in my shower?" And so I'm filming this-

• 11:35Brooke Averick?

Were you at the Madonna Inn?

• 11:37Connor Wood?

No, I was at Hotel Granada.

• 11:39Brooke Averick?

  Oh.

• 11:40Connor Wood?

And they're gonna be mad, but okay.

• 11:44Connor Wood?

So basically, I'm filming, cuz I like wanna show, I wanna like post this on my story, like this is so funny is, you open the little hole for some natural light, and this woman is staring at you in the shower. And so I'm filming it, I kinda mess it up. I kinda mess it up again. This number keeps calling me like while I'm filming messing up all of my shots. And I'm like, gosh dang it, like get out of here, finally I turn airplane mode on. And I'm filming it and like I'm doing this voice at the end of the video like, hey, get out of my shower, like when I'm filming her and like, and I can hear people talking.

• 12:15Brooke Averick?

  No.

• 12:17Connor Wood?

Like, and I'm like, what? Like cuz I opened the balcony door, so like I could hear outside too. And then I hear like knocking and finally like I'm on my 50th take of this video. And it's the same thing every day. I'm in the shower, blah blah, it's dark, oh luckily there's a window and they're saying,

• 12:36Connor Wood?

and finally I like turn the shower cuz I hear people talking, they're like banging and they're like, it's the front desk. I'm like, sorry, I'm in the shower. Get lost, you know, like. Um, and I go out, I look at my phone and there was all these missed calls. And I have a text, um, saying,

• 12:55Connor Wood?

hey, so sorry, you have to switch rooms. Your room is flooding the downstairs somehow. Something from your room is flooding the downstairs. Fully I've turned my, like I'm ignoring them, just like flooding the downstairs entrance to this thing.

• 13:09Brooke Averick?

That's not where I thought it was going. I thought that was like a people into the room next door and you were like really disturbing them with your video.

• 13:16Connor Wood?

I wish, I wish it was, but they could hear me going, they're, they're, they're going like, please, you're flooding the lobby. And I'm going,

• 13:27Connor Wood?

  I'll show you the video.

• 13:28Brooke Averick?

Uh, oh, I'd like to see it. Did you get any footage of the flood?

• 13:32Connor Wood?

I got an image of the flood. So this is it downstairs.

• 13:37Brooke Averick?

How does this shit happen to you?

• 13:39Connor Wood?

Only me. No, look. And then I get, I get this text. Absolutely no rush, but the hotel needs you to change rooms because there's water leaking from your room. Let me know when you're available to do this. Um, and then.

• 13:58Connor Wood?

Wait, that was a different one? This is the show.

• 14:17Connor Wood?

I think it's an image of Madonna, actually, now that I look at it again. Did that look like Madonna to you?

• 14:22Brooke Averick?

I don't know. My contacts don't work anymore.

• 14:25Connor Wood?

So that was, yeah, that was, that was last night. And then today, I'm driving down. I said I didn't stop to pee because I peed while driving.

• 14:34Brooke Averick?

  Oh, cool. Into the hydro?

• 14:35Connor Wood?

  No, into a coffee cup.

• 14:38Brooke Averick?

  Nice.

• 14:40Brooke Averick?

  While in the driver's seat?

• 14:41Connor Wood?

While in the driver's seat, moving.

• 14:44Brooke Averick?

  I don't even wanna...

• 14:44Connor Wood?

It's something crazy that's happened with me getting older is I'm getting grad... I can pee any, any... In any circumstances, I can pee. I could look at you right now in your eyes while podcasting and pee my pants.

• 14:57Brooke Averick?

Wow. I could not pee my pants even if I wanted to.

• 15:02Connor Wood?

  It's so, like, I don't even, like...

• 15:03Brooke Averick?

  There's a stopper. There's a gob stopper. A mental gob stopper.

• 15:07Connor Wood?

A never-ending gob. No, it's, it's something, and it's so, it's so crazy because I used to be so pee shy that I would be in like a dire situation that was life or death, like road trip with my parents and we're like in a rush or going somewhere. And I would walk in and get ready to pee and someone would be at the urinal next to me and I couldn't even like, release my

• 15:26Connor Wood?

  grasp.

• 15:27Brooke Averick?

  Yeah.

• 15:27Connor Wood?

And I'd walk out and have to look at my dad and be like...

• 15:31Brooke Averick?

  Wow.

• 15:32Connor Wood?

  I didn't go.

• 15:32Brooke Averick?

  Wow.

• 15:33Connor Wood?

Get back in there and do it.

• 15:35Brooke Averick?

  Wow.

• 15:36Connor Wood?

And I couldn't pull trick. But right now, looking at you in the eye, looking at the camera, I could

• 15:41Connor Wood?

  wet the Kelly.

• 15:42Brooke Averick?

Wow. I've never been pee shy, but I just can't pee in my pants.

• 15:46Connor Wood?

  How do you know?

• 15:47Brooke Averick?

  I've tried.

• 15:48Connor Wood?

You've tried to pee your pants? Why?

• 15:50Brooke Averick?

Like when I was like, young.

• 15:52Connor Wood?

  So you have a-

• 15:52Brooke Averick?

I guess I could try, I like, it hasn't come, the need hasn't come up recently.

• 15:56Connor Wood?

  Really?

• 15:56Brooke Averick?

To want to pee in my pants, yeah.

• 15:59Connor Wood?

I peed my pants a little bit in Mexico when I was just there for that wedding.

• 16:03Brooke Averick?

  Why?

• 16:04Connor Wood?

Because I got up to my room, I like sprinted, I like had this huge walk home and like sprinted up to my room to pee. And like, the anticipation of almost being in my room, like my Bluetooth connected to the toilet type thing, type beat? And so it was like, okay, we're, we're, we're releasing in five, four, three, two. And then I had lost my hotel key and I had like started to, and then you got like-

• 16:32Brooke Averick?

That is such an amazing way to put it. You're like bodily Bluetooth connecting to the toilet.

• 16:38Connor Wood?

You know what it is too, like if you need to use the bathroom-

• 16:41Brooke Averick?

  Connor, you're a genius.

• 16:43Connor Wood?

  If you need to-

• 16:43Brooke Averick?

I feel like I don't tell you that enough.

• 16:45Connor Wood?

  That is-

• 16:45Brooke Averick?

You are a genius. The amount of times that my body is connected to the Bluetooth-

• 16:50Connor Wood?

  Mm-hmm.

• 16:51Brooke Averick?

  At the buzzer.

• 16:52Connor Wood?

  Right.

• 16:53Brooke Averick?

And I'm stepping over the threshold of the bathroom and I'm like, I'm, I'm not going to make it the one step to the toilet. Because my body connects to the Bluetooth prematurely.

• 17:04Connor Wood?

  Yeah, there is a-

• 17:04Brooke Averick?

  Wow.

• 17:05Connor Wood?

Yeah, no, it's, even when you're like driving home and it's like, I know where I am, it's like, Bluetooth device connected.

• 17:11Brooke Averick?

  Yeah.

• 17:12Connor Wood?

And then you are running and, and then you get a, but like your body, the body keeps a score.

• 17:19Brooke Averick?

  Wow. You blow my mind.

• 17:22Connor Wood?

  Really?

• 17:23Brooke Averick?

Yeah, that, to me, that is the smartest thing you've ever said.

• 17:25Connor Wood?

That is so crazy because I, we talk so much, so often and it, why does that, it's, I mean, it does make complete and total sense that it would be toilet related, that you, you've, you've awarded me like the highest.

• 17:37Brooke Averick?

I was also, I was wa, I like, don't usually watch our clips because I can't like, watch myself. But I was watching the one, uh, about when you were explaining quantum.

• 17:47Connor Wood?

  Yeah.

• 17:48Brooke Averick?

  Yesterday and I was like-

• 17:49Connor Wood?

  I saw your comment.

• 17:50Brooke Averick?

I was like, this is not okay.

• 17:52Connor Wood?

I knew in the moment, I was like, this is so, I was, I was spewing and I was like, oh, this is really trash.

• 17:59Brooke Averick?

Just like everything going on in the world and this is what we're choosing.

• 18:03Connor Wood?

We're fucking clowns, like, what are we talking about?

• 18:05Brooke Averick?

  This is not okay.

• 18:06Connor Wood?

  No.

• 18:07Brooke Averick?

And so that's why today we're moving forward, but talking about subs.

• 18:11Connor Wood?

  Bluetooth and the toilet.

• 18:14Speaker 07

  Ugh, I hate Mondays.

• 18:45Connor Wood?

  King's Hawaiian cinnamon swirl bite?

• 18:47Brooke Averick?

Taylor Hansen? Sure, I'll try one. Mmm.

• 18:52Speaker 03

Hey, let's get back to work, please.

• 18:54Brooke Averick?

But Taylor Hansen's making my day way better with these new soft and swirly King's Hawaiian cinnamon bites.

• 18:58Speaker 03

Taylor Hansen? Nice. Try one. Mmm.

• 19:05Speaker 04

King's Hawaiian cinnamon bites. There's nothing like it.

• 19:15Brooke Averick?

  Wow.

• 19:15Connor Wood?

You, and you have a lot to talk about.

• 19:17Brooke Averick?

Kinda. Well, I have a note.

• 19:19Connor Wood?

  What do you mean?

• 19:20Brooke Averick?

Of things to talk about, which I feel like I haven't had in a long time.

• 19:24Connor Wood?

You, not in our shared note? I would really worry.

• 19:27Brooke Averick?

  I have a private note.

• 19:29Connor Wood?

  Okay.

• 19:30Brooke Averick?

  That being said.

• 19:31Connor Wood?

  All right.

• 19:32Brooke Averick?

Uh, starting in December, I'm not going to be using my phone. Because I'm, I'll have my Hobonichi.

• 19:41Connor Wood?

  Walk me the rest?

• 19:43Brooke Averick?

I am on a side of TikTok that is like, uh, journal scapes and stationary and planners in a way that has consumed me, body and soul. And I, you know, I've been spending a lot of time trying to figure out what journaling ecosystem is right for me, what kind of planner is right for me. And I've decided for my planner to go with the Hobonichi Weeks. Um, the English version, it's also, it's originated in Japan, so.

• 20:12Connor Wood?

  Yeah.

• 20:13Brooke Averick?

English version. And I am going, it's like kind of pocket sized. And I'm going to be using my Hobonichi in a way that you've never seen me use anything before. And it's not going to be the kind of thing where I like get an iPad and I'm obsessed with it for like four weeks and stop. I'm going to be carrying this Hobonichi around with me everywhere. I'm going to have lists in it. So I'm gonna have what I'm gonna talk about on the podcast in my Hobonichi. You're gonna see me sitting here with my Hobonichi. Okay. And I got a little sticker printer, you know, those like little Canon things. So I'm gonna print like a few pictures from the week and like kind of like junk journal on the other side.

• 20:53Connor Wood?

  Yeah, that's fun.

• 20:54Brooke Averick?

Yeah, this is go like my, I'm about to put my whole post into the Hobonichi for 2026.

• 21:01Connor Wood?

That's something to look forward to. What a fun, it's, things are looking up, Hobonichi.

• 21:06Brooke Averick?

Things have been really looking up and Matt King and I, I texted him, you know, once I got into this.

• 21:12Connor Wood?

  Of course.

• 21:13Brooke Averick?

  Yeah, he's, he's my.

• 21:14Connor Wood?

  Who else do you call?

• 21:15Brooke Averick?

I said, Matt, do you know anything about Hobonichi? I mean, he already fricking got his 2026. Like duh. So we're going, you know how we did a like bookstore?

• 21:27Connor Wood?

  Yeah.

• 21:28Brooke Averick?

Tour a few weeks ago, we're doing a stationary shop.

• 21:31Connor Wood?

  Oh, that is just.

• 21:32Brooke Averick?

  Yeah.

• 21:33Connor Wood?

  You two together.

• 21:34Brooke Averick?

Yeah. Yeah. So we're gonna get all these kinds of supplies for journaling and stuff. And if you guys have any other suggestions for what I could use for my journaling ecosystem alongside of the Hobonichi.

• 21:45Connor Wood?

  Open the floodgates.

• 21:46Brooke Averick?

Please let me know because I'm just so, I'm so excited to dive.

• 21:49Connor Wood?

That is, you two are trouble when you get together.

• 21:51Brooke Averick?

  Literally.

• 21:52Connor Wood?

  Yeah.

• 21:53Brooke Averick?

Like the two of us, once you get us started, good luck stopping us.

• 21:57Connor Wood?

  You can't, I can't.

• 21:59Brooke Averick?

  That's all I have.

• 21:59Connor Wood?

You two in the stationary store like keep your dick in your pants. Everyone else stay home.

• 22:03Brooke Averick?

Yeah, I would stay home on Friday.

• 22:05Connor Wood?

If you were thinking about getting out, don't go outside on Friday.

• 22:08Brooke Averick?

  Yeah.

• 22:08Connor Wood?

Matt King and Lady, Lady E are gonna be hitting the, hitting the paper.

• 22:12Brooke Averick?

And like when I tell you we're doing like downtown to like Orange County.

• 22:17Connor Wood?

  I believe you.

• 22:18Brooke Averick?

Like, I hope you believe me.

• 22:19Connor Wood?

  I do.

• 22:20Brooke Averick?

I made that up, but like, I just like, do you hope you understand the lengths that we're going?

• 22:24Connor Wood?

I don't, this is not surprising to me at all. I haven't even blinked.

• 22:27Brooke Averick?

Yeah, thanks. So I already, my Hobonichi got delivered yesterday.

• 22:32Connor Wood?

  Wow.

• 22:33Brooke Averick?

Yeah, it's pink and there's like this clear case that I got for it and I'm gonna put stickers on it too. I think you'll really like it.

• 22:41Connor Wood?

  Can you, I'm sorry if I'm, it's like a, it's a planner?

• 22:47Brooke Averick?

Izzy, can you look up the Hobonichi? Oh my God, that's my Hobonichi.

• 22:51Brooke Averick?

  Yeah.

• 22:53Brooke Averick?

So this is the, that's the monthly view. So it's just like an overview. So yes, so it's like tiny. And that's where I'll plan like my appointments and what I have during the week. And on the right, that's where I'm going to put like, here's what I'm going to talk about on the pod. Like here's a picture from my Canon sticker printer.

• 23:09Connor Wood?

You're gonna bring that in here with your, your talking points.

• 23:12Brooke Averick?

Yes, with my talking points. So each week it's like appointments on the left and shit like that. Due dates, whatever. And on the right, like podcasts, here's what I did this week, et cetera.

• 23:21Connor Wood?

  Oh, that's lovely.

• 23:21Brooke Averick?

And then in the back, there's like a lot of free pages, which is where I'm going to print pictures of the books I read and, and have a log.

• 23:28Connor Wood?

  That's awesome.

• 23:28Brooke Averick?

  Like a physical goodreads, so.

• 23:31Connor Wood?

I have so many, um, Moleskines that you would think that I was like a city planner.

• 23:36Brooke Averick?

Yeah. There's also, uh, what is this? There's these journals.

• 23:43Brooke Averick?

I don't know the name, but they're like Louise. Izzy, can you look up Louise's journal? It might not be Louise at all. Where you can like put all of your like Moleskines or what? Yes, yes, yes.

• 23:56Connor Wood?

  Oh, yeah. Yeah.

• 23:57Brooke Averick?

Those are gorgeous and you can put like multiple notebooks, like your Moleskines inside of them and have an ecosystem in one.

• 24:07Brooke Averick?

  Does that make sense?

• 24:07Connor Wood?

  Have you journaled before?

• 24:09Brooke Averick?

  I have about 50 half-filled journals.

• 24:14Connor Wood?

I, like, I'm not, I, I will never in my life, if anyone found any, because I, I sporadically will journal. I'll be like, this is like a really good time, or I'll be on a trip and just be having like an eat, pray, love moment. And I'm like, I'm going to journal this. If I ever read one of those, I probably, like my dick would go inside my body from self embarrassment. It's like hearing, it's like hearing yourself sing in the car and you like, really hit the note wrong and then you turn the music off and you drive in silence as punishment. If I read one of my journal entries, I'd be like, who the fuck do you think you are?

• 24:49Brooke Averick?

Well, because I write, I always wrote in my journals with the hopes that it would be discovered, like Anne Frank style.

• 24:55Connor Wood?

Wow. Okay. Yeah. I got like, but there's this level of a depth that like, I don't have data. But like this moment where it's like, girl, who's going to be okay every time I journal?

• 25:06Brooke Averick?

  Main character. Yeah.

• 25:07Connor Wood?

Yeah, but like. Like, there's a self-awareness right now happening, but when I'm in that journal, Ernest Hemingway.

• 25:17Brooke Averick?

  Totally.

• 25:17Connor Wood?

You would, and I'm like, when I'm journaling, it like always seems like I'm on the precipice of like some massive like self-evolution and like I never am. It's the same, the journaling doesn't do it. It's like humiliating.

• 25:31Brooke Averick?

I also have so many journals with just one page filled out when it's like I was obviously like, it was like, I was at my lowest and like to the point where it's like, I'm gonna go to the beach and journal.

• 25:40Connor Wood?

  Yeah.

• 25:40Brooke Averick?

And so there's like 60 different journals of just like, ah, today's the last day for me.

• 25:47Brooke Averick?

  Ever.

• 25:49Connor Wood?

Mine is always like, like what I, it's funny because I'll have, my, my mole skins are all like this. Um, Minneapolis set list for my, the comedy show. Next one, groceries. Next one, drawing of a mountain.

• 26:03Brooke Averick?

  Yeah.

• 26:04Connor Wood?

  Next one.

• 26:06Connor Wood?

Today I feel like it's like a full journaling thing, but it, I can't describe like I.

• 26:12Brooke Averick?

Well, that's why people have these ecosystems because one can be for a grocery list. One can be for today, I feel.

• 26:18Connor Wood?

Yeah, there's no organization in a mole, mole skin, but I do find, I do like that though, because it kind of is like junk journaling, but just my thoughts.

• 26:25Brooke Averick?

  Yeah.

• 26:26Connor Wood?

It, it makes my skin crawl. It makes me want to tear my skin off of my body thinking about someone reading that.

• 26:32Brooke Averick?

You know what's bad? The two times in my life that I journaled the most consistently were the, like my middle school journal that I like, used to read on TikTok.

• 26:41Connor Wood?

  I love those.

• 26:41Brooke Averick?

And then my 2020, like going through like COVID and like getting onto TikTok, meeting you and Kat. I remember vividly journaling, journaling about.

• 26:52Connor Wood?

Do you have those mole skins?

• 26:55Brooke Averick?

And I, I will not, I cannot open them.

• 26:57Connor Wood?

No. Yeah. You know what's, I, I, I don't know where half of mine went.

• 27:01Brooke Averick?

I, I know exactly where they are.

• 27:02Connor Wood?

I've moved so many times and it's just so scary thinking about like, someone helping me move and being like, what's this? And opening a page to like, a day where I was just like feeling like God.

• 27:13Brooke Averick?

  Yeah.

• 27:14Connor Wood?

Like with this, this insight that few have ever encountered. And it was just like one day before I.

• 27:22Connor Wood?

Talked about Bluetooth into the toilet.

• 27:24Brooke Averick?

  Yeah.

• 27:24Connor Wood?

Like this, that, that's the same person.

• 27:26Brooke Averick?

  Yeah.

• 27:27Connor Wood?

It's, it's, it's insane. It's making me, it's making me feel a little bit, I'm sickened by the thought of it.

• 27:34Brooke Averick?

You know, my friend Lindsay, she has journaled every day of her life. So she has hundreds stacks of journals, like dating back to like, middle school to now. And like, when she goes through them and like, she'll find like moments that I had forgotten about, like that we lived through and we'll send them. And it's just like, this, like, I should have been doing this the whole time.

• 27:57Connor Wood?

See, that, for that reason, I can see it making sense. Cause that, you get to a point where it's like, why do I have a hundred Moleskines?

• 28:05Brooke Averick?

  Right.

• 28:06Connor Wood?

It would be nice if you could digitize it and then be like, you could, you would search like an index of your memories and stuff, because I have made up, I, I have memories that I made up. That never happened. I've told the same story enough times. It's someone else's story they told me and I had been, I've been telling people that it happened to me for so long that like that, now I believe it is fact. And it's really scaring me.

• 28:28Brooke Averick?

  I have those too.

• 28:29Connor Wood?

  It's scaring me.

• 28:31Brooke Averick?

It is scary how you can't trust yourself.

• 28:32Connor Wood?

I never did X, Y, Z, but like, in my head I have.

• 28:35Brooke Averick?

  Yeah.

• 28:36Connor Wood?

But also it's pretty amazing. You could just make up your, you can make up your reality.

• 28:40Brooke Averick?

  Most people do.

• 28:43Connor Wood?

  Yeah.

• 28:43Brooke Averick?

Maybe not most people, but a lot of people.

• 28:47Brooke Averick?

I have a few realities that I've made up.

• 28:49Connor Wood?

  I know, yeah.

• 28:50Brooke Averick?

  Connor.

• 28:50Connor Wood?

No, no, I know. Like, that is, that like, it makes sense.

• 28:53Brooke Averick?

  Yeah.

• 28:55Connor Wood?

Yeah, like you doing nine 11. That is a made up reality. That's OCD though.

• 29:00Brooke Averick?

  Yeah, that's a good point.

• 29:01Connor Wood?

  But that's like.

• 29:01Brooke Averick?

That's a little bit different, but yeah.

• 29:03Connor Wood?

The darker side of making up your own reality.

• 29:05Brooke Averick?

  Totally.

• 29:07Brooke Averick?

You didn't say anything about my bangs.

• 29:09Connor Wood?

  I like your bangs.

• 29:10Brooke Averick?

  Do you?

• 29:10Connor Wood?

That's what it is. Yeah. Yeah. That's, remember I was looking at you during the Jones, the Jones Road. I was like, something's out.

• 29:16Brooke Averick?

Oh yeah, you said I was beautiful.

• 29:17Connor Wood?

Something's different about this young woman.

• 29:20Brooke Averick?

I'm obsessed with my bangs and I keep posting about it, but there are some people that keep responding like those aren't bangs. Which I have a few things to say.

• 29:29Connor Wood?

Yeah. If they're coming out of the top of your forehead, they're bangs, right?

• 29:31Brooke Averick?

They're bangs. And I, and I freaking love my bangs.

• 29:37Connor Wood?

  My bangs.

• 29:39Brooke Averick?

Maybe they're bang because there's one strand of hair. That's fine too.

• 29:45Brooke Averick?

But bang or bangs, they're important to me. And I and I and I need them to be acknowledged as such.

• 29:53Connor Wood?

Bang officially not a word in this space. Like I've heard.

• 29:56Brooke Averick?

  Huh?

• 29:57Connor Wood?

  I can't. It doesn't sound like a real.

• 29:58Brooke Averick?

  I have bang.

• 30:00Connor Wood?

  Luckily, I have bang.

• 30:01Brooke Averick?

Yeah, bang bangs, whatever. Do not DM me and tell me I do not have bangs.

• 30:07Connor Wood?

  Don't comment on a woman's bang.

• 30:09Brooke Averick?

Do not, especially when I'm loving them.

• 30:11Connor Wood?

  Yeah.

• 30:13Brooke Averick?

That's all I have to say about that.

• 30:14Connor Wood?

No, that's great. That's a it's a great to highlight that. Isn't it weird that the stuff coming out of my legs right here, same coming out of my head?

• 30:23Brooke Averick?

  Hair?

• 30:23Connor Wood?

  Hair.

• 30:25Brooke Averick?

I always wonder, like, how did my body know to grow two eyebrows? Like hair just in the spots of my, well, some bodies do that. Like two, like pieces of hair in the eyebrow space.

• 30:38Connor Wood?

  It's really spectacular.

• 30:39Brooke Averick?

  Yeah.

• 30:39Connor Wood?

The the work that bodies can do. Wait, I was thinking about this the other day and not to bring. Someone brought up Hank Green again at one of my shows and they were like, would you want him to come on? I was like, yeah, like we have so many questions for Hank Green. But one of them, I was talking, we talk about evolution all the time, but I had a different thought in bed the other day about evolution and it was about. Like really?

• 31:00Brooke Averick?

It's to keep things from falling into your eyes.

• 31:02Connor Wood?

Yeah, that's to keep sweat from getting into your eye. I I understand eyebrows. That's why my eyes.

• 31:06Brooke Averick?

  That's incredible.

• 31:07Connor Wood?

That is incredible. I'm talking about, remember we talked about like, who is it benefiting for us all not to be?

• 31:15Connor Wood?

There are, oh, my gosh. Okay, I figured it out. I just pieced together this thought. Now, it's gonna take me a second to explain it out loud.

• 31:22Brooke Averick?

  I'll be patient.

• 31:23Connor Wood?

In my mind. Okay. Who does it benefit? Evolus- evolutionally? For anyone to not be like the hottest person ever, right? We talked about that.

• 31:32Brooke Averick?

  We talked about this.

• 31:33Connor Wood?

So it's like, and we all agree that there are people that are just like simply, we all agree, like, paid to be hot. They like, that's all like models, super, super models. It's like, they are so hot. And then I was thinking like, like a, like a mallard duck isn't like, like in the animal world, there's, there's not animals that are like, you look at them, they're hotter to the, like, there isn't like a hot duck.

• 31:54Brooke Averick?

  I'm sure there are.

• 31:56Connor Wood?

  Like in their eyes?

• 31:57Brooke Averick?

  Yes.

• 31:58Connor Wood?

Right. In the eye of the beholder. But you know what I was thinking about?

• 32:01Brooke Averick?

  What?

• 32:03Connor Wood?

  If the point of

• 32:06Connor Wood?

of the attractiveness thing is to produce offspring.

• 32:13Connor Wood?

Like it's evolutionally beneficial to settle eventually. For like some, you know, if like, you can't get this hot person like, I'm gonna settle so I can make babies.

• 32:28Brooke Averick?

  I don't know if I'm following.

• 32:29Connor Wood?

Okay, does anyone get it? Crap, like, do you get it? Is he, is he, is he frowning and turning? Okay. If you were going, you're like, I have to reproduce with that hot mallard duck. But that hot-

• 32:46Brooke Averick?

Can we just use humans? I feel like maybe I'd understand it better.

• 32:49Connor Wood?

  Okay, so you have-

• 32:50Brooke Averick?

  Give me specific people.

• 32:51Connor Wood?

You're, okay. Well, I don't, I don't want to because I don't, because I, this, because when you're talking about a person like that, then it kind of feels mean to say what I'm saying.

• 32:58Brooke Averick?

  You like Jacob Elordi.

• 32:59Connor Wood?

Okay, so say that is your dream man and you're like, it, like, I need to have babies with Jacob.

• 33:06Brooke Averick?

  Yeah.

• 33:07Connor Wood?

Or else my bloodline will cease to exist.

• 33:11Brooke Averick?

  Yeah.

• 33:12Connor Wood?

  Right.

• 33:12Brooke Averick?

  Procreating unless it's with G.I.

• 33:13Connor Wood?

  Procreating with Jacob Elordi.

• 33:16Brooke Averick?

  Okay.

• 33:17Connor Wood?

Or my bloodline ceases to exist.

• 33:19Brooke Averick?

  Yes.

• 33:21Connor Wood?

But then you realize, he's, he's, he's dating Olivia J and like, he's not interested.

• 33:26Brooke Averick?

  Right.

• 33:27Connor Wood?

So you now, you're like, well, I need another option. Let me settle with this so that I can continue my lineage. Do you know what I mean?

• 33:35Brooke Averick?

That doesn't explain why not everyone, like, why wouldn't everyone just look like Jacob Elordi?

• 33:40Connor Wood?

  That's what I'm confused about.

• 33:43Brooke Averick?

  Right.

• 33:44Connor Wood?

  That's my point of contention.

• 33:45Brooke Averick?

So you're saying that it benefits people evolutionarily to procreate?

• 33:51Connor Wood?

No, I'm saying settling, when you can't get the hottest person, is beneficial to-

• 33:56Brooke Averick?

  Yeah, having kids, yeah.

• 33:58Connor Wood?

But like, if you can't have it with the hottest, then that's the, that's what I'm saying. Like, I don't get why everyone's not hot, because it's not fair.

• 34:07Brooke Averick?

Yeah. I, I also feel that way.

• 34:10Connor Wood?

Okay. Guess what happened to me?

• 34:13Brooke Averick?

  What?

• 34:15Connor Wood?

I had, imagine my surprise when I looked down the other day and I had belly button lint.

• 34:24Brooke Averick?

We've been, you've spoken about that before.

• 34:25Connor Wood?

No, I had it. I put it in my notes.

• 34:28Brooke Averick?

  Oh, oh.

• 34:29Connor Wood?

I had it this week and it wasn't even like a new sweater or anything. It's a sweater that I wear frequently. And I had belly button lint. I thought that only happens in cartoons.

• 34:41Brooke Averick?

No, that kind of grosses me out.

• 34:43Connor Wood?

It didn't grow it. It came from somewhere.

• 34:45Brooke Averick?

I didn't say you grew it.

• 34:47Connor Wood?

  What grosses you out?

• 34:48Brooke Averick?

Just like you having lint in your belly button.

• 34:51Connor Wood?

It's not dirty. Lint itself is not dirty.

• 34:54Brooke Averick?

It's just like, it's just making me like, ugh.

• 34:57Connor Wood?

It's better than the time I found a little mini M and M in my belly button and I didn't even remember having had those anytime soon. And it wasn't even melted, actually.

• 35:06Brooke Averick?

  I don't like belly buttons.

• 35:11Connor Wood?

  She doesn't like belly buttons?

• 35:12Brooke Averick?

  Yeah. I don't think-

• 35:14Connor Wood?

She certainly doesn't like belly button lint.

• 35:15Brooke Averick?

  Yeah, ugh.

• 35:16Connor Wood?

I love belly buttons. The fact that we have like a little hot tub on our stomach, that's amazing.

• 35:20Brooke Averick?

  Yeah, I don't, I don't fuck with it.

• 35:22Connor Wood?

I love the idea of like-

• 35:24Brooke Averick?

  Stop fingering it right now.

• 35:25Connor Wood?

  I'm not fingering.

• 35:26Brooke Averick?

You were. That's exactly what you were doing.

• 35:30Connor Wood?

I was trying to find it. Um, it's a beautiful idea to have a bunch of little mini people going swimming in my belly button.

• 35:37Brooke Averick?

My dream man is that Kyle XY guy, because he didn't have one.

  Ugh, I hate Mondays.

• 36:14Speaker 02

  King's Hawaiian cinnamon swirl bite?

• 36:15Speaker 01

Uh, Taylor Hansen? Sure, I'll try one. Mmm.

• 36:21Speaker 03

Hey, let's get back to work, please.

• 36:22Speaker 01

But Taylor Hansen's making my day way better with these new soft and swirly King's Hawaiian cinnamon bites.

• 36:27Speaker 03

  Taylor Hansen? Nice. Try one.

• 36:30Connor Wood?

  Mmm.

• 36:34Brooke Averick?

King's Hawaiian cinnamon bites. There's nothing like it.

• 36:42Connor Wood?

What was, what was his whole thing? Was he just an alien?

• 36:45Brooke Averick?

I think he was an alien.

• 36:47Brooke Averick?

Wait, who played him? Oh, I don't know. Just Kyle XY.

• 36:51Connor Wood?

  Matt Dallas.

• 36:54Connor Wood?

Never heard of him. Did he ever work again?

• 36:56Brooke Averick?

  That is hysterical.

• 36:59Connor Wood?

That was the cover image, which is a young man lifting up.

• 37:02Brooke Averick?

  The writer's room.

• 37:03Connor Wood?

  Look, no belly button.

• 37:05Brooke Averick?

The writer's room. I love that, to think about that.

• 37:09Connor Wood?

That's not more disturbing to you than, than me?

• 37:13Brooke Averick?

  Um.

• 37:14Connor Wood?

  That makes me.

• 37:14Brooke Averick?

It is like a little weird because it's just like, we're not used to it.

• 37:19Connor Wood?

Imagine an alien being like, look, I'm, I'm an alien because I don't have a belly button.

• 37:22Brooke Averick?

But also aliens, like the, like stereotypical, like green little guy, like they have belly buttons, right?

• 37:29Connor Wood?

That's true. Like aliens are born too. Like what, how did they get around to it? Um.

• 37:36Brooke Averick?

Oh, he does not have a belly button.

• 37:37Connor Wood?

  Look at the little body.

• 37:39Brooke Averick?

  That person has two.

• 37:44Brooke Averick?

I guess we really don't know.

• 37:45Connor Wood?

Belly, belly buttons are in the eye of the beholder.

• 37:48Brooke Averick?

  I guess we don't know.

• 37:49Connor Wood?

  I love my belly button.

• 37:51Brooke Averick?

Speaking of aliens, there's going to be a new American Horror Story season, as there always is. But did you see who's going to be in this one?

• 38:00Connor Wood?

  Ariana Grande.

• 38:01Brooke Averick?

And the OGs. Evan Peters is back. Jessica Lange is back. Emma Roberts is back. Uh, is Sarah Paulson back? Sarah Paulson is back. Like, I have high hopes. I pray.

• 38:12Connor Wood?

I just saw online that, that All's Fair, that new show that just came out.

• 38:16Brooke Averick?

  Zero percent on Rotten Tomatoes.

• 38:18Connor Wood?

That it's so, so, so bad that it made Sarah Paulson look like a bad actor.

• 38:22Brooke Averick?

I saw a clip. It is bleak.

• 38:25Connor Wood?

Well, everyone's saying it's so bad. I need 10 more seasons of it.

• 38:27Brooke Averick?

Yeah, but it's like, not even, the writing is like a joke, like ChatGPT vibes.

• 38:34Connor Wood?

  It might be.

• 38:35Brooke Averick?

Yeah, but in a way it's like funny. Ryan Murphy.

• 38:38Connor Wood?

Because Ryan Murphy is putting out so much stuff, it wouldn't even be shocking if he's just starting to make bad stuff.

• 38:42Brooke Averick?

I pray that he actually like puts like an ounce of effort into this new American Horror Story.

• 38:46Connor Wood?

I feel like there's so much on the line here that he has to. By the way, I watched I Love LA. Did you, have you seen it yet?

• 38:55Brooke Averick?

  I don't, yeah.

• 38:56Connor Wood?

  Rachel Sinet?

• 39:00Brooke Averick?

  You like like?

• 39:01Connor Wood?

No, I'm saying you did it. I downloaded HBO Max because of you.

• 39:07Brooke Averick?

  Oh, wow.

• 39:09Connor Wood?

  It's really good.

• 39:10Brooke Averick?

  I need to watch.

• 39:10Connor Wood?

It's really, really good. And I don't know if it was because, I don't know if it's because, like, having lived in LA, I think there's a lot of nuances that, like, you kind of only get if you live here. And because of that, like, the writing and all these little pieces, I'm like, oh, my god.

• 39:24Brooke Averick?

  Yeah.

• 39:25Connor Wood?

This is, it's so, I think it's so good.

• 39:30Connor Wood?

It's kind of like a Gen Z entourage. But with, like, influencers, agents and influencers instead of, like, actors. It's one episode I've seen, so I don't know if it's gonna change or what. But, like, right now, I really like it. There is a thing happening right now, like, on Twitter and stuff, where people are like, I don't like, I don't like this character. It's like, guess what? It's a character.

• 39:52Brooke Averick?

  Right.

• 39:52Connor Wood?

You can't have a parasocial relationship with a character that, like, doesn't exist. And the point of the writing is to make you not like.

• 39:59Brooke Averick?

Right. Some people, I'm like, do you realize, like, you're not supposed to like this character?

• 40:03Connor Wood?

  It's, it's, it's the bean soup theory.

• 40:05Brooke Averick?

  Yeah.

• 40:06Connor Wood?

You know the bean soup theory.

• 40:07Brooke Averick?

I know the bean soup theory.

• 40:08Connor Wood?

If you don't know the bean soup theory, the bean soup theory, it's a young woman that made the bean soup. And someone commented, "I don't like beans. How can I make this soup?" You don't make the soup. You don't make the bean soup.

• 40:20Brooke Averick?

No soup for you. No soup for you.

• 40:21Connor Wood?

You don't, you don't make this particular soup. Lucky for you, there's other soups.

• 40:26Brooke Averick?

  Yeah.

• 40:26Connor Wood?

Go seek those out. And for this, it's like, I don't like it. Don't watch it.

• 40:30Brooke Averick?

  I agree.

• 40:31Connor Wood?

You're not, that character is not real. It can't hurt you. But it's so good. It's so well-produced that there was a montage of them going from Silverlake down Wilshire to go to the beach, and it made me tear up. Because I missed LA. And I was like, and there's all those stupid buildings on Wilshire Boulevard that are, like, straight up, objectively ugly, ugly buildings. And I was like, oh.

• 40:56Connor Wood?

  I miss those. Fugly buildings.

• 40:59Brooke Averick?

  Yeah.

• 40:59Connor Wood?

They're white and they're square. There's nothing to them. And I was like, oh my god. And they get the song playing? I love LA.

• 41:06Brooke Averick?

You know, I love that one.

• 41:06Connor Wood?

I know. And it was just so, it was, it was awesome. So I can't wait to watch more of this.

• 41:12Brooke Averick?

Looking forward to watching the first episode. I'm watching Girls for the first time.

• 41:15Connor Wood?

It's, it's like a Girls meets Entourage. And I don't, I would not throw that around lightly. Wait, Girls for the first time?

• 41:22Brooke Averick?

Kinda. I had seen the first two seasons a long time ago, and I feel like I was too young to connect with it. And so now I turned it on and just like first episode immediately, I'm like this, yeah, this is as good as everyone says it is.

• 41:33Connor Wood?

I'm sensing that there is gonna be a Lena Dunham-ification of Rachel Sinek, and that does scare me for her. Cause like everyone

• 41:42Brooke Averick?

  She will look

• 41:43Connor Wood?

Love the show and then, yeah, they villainized Lena.

• 41:46Brooke Averick?

  Yeah.

• 41:47Connor Wood?

And I, I'm, I hope that doesn't happen, but they had this issue with her and the

• 41:50Brooke Averick?

They'll villainize all, all brilliant women. Sorry, sometimes I can't say women singular and women plural differently and I

• 41:58Connor Wood?

Yeah, it's totally fine. Cause I know your heart.

• 42:01Brooke Averick?

  Yeah.

• 42:02Connor Wood?

Um, but anyways, in the first episode, Lena goes, I'm the voice of a generation. And I remember people being like really upset, cause it was like, what? It's like, it's a character!

• 42:16Brooke Averick?

  Yeah, people need help.

• 42:17Connor Wood?

Oh my gosh, in a huge way.

• 42:19Brooke Averick?

Like so, so massive. In an amazing way.

• 42:22Connor Wood?

  I

• 42:24Connor Wood?

I have one more thought about something, and then I'm gonna hand it the baton to you. This one is just weighing on me heavy. The phrase, "life is a highway." What does that mean? Like it goes by fast and I'm texting?

• 42:37Brooke Averick?

No, I wanna ride it all night long.

• 42:42Brooke Averick?

  Moves fast.

• 42:43Connor Wood?

  Yeah.

• 42:43Brooke Averick?

Sometimes it might move slow when there's traffic.

• 42:46Connor Wood?

That is, that's not, that does, those aren't affiliated with like

• 42:50Brooke Averick?

Yeah, it does. The hard moments, like traffic, go by pretty slowly.

• 42:54Connor Wood?

What are exits in this metaphor?

• 42:56Brooke Averick?

  Unfortunately, like, your death?

• 42:59Connor Wood?

Death? But exits lead you to your destination.

• 43:03Brooke Averick?

Well, remember we've spoken about like, maybe that is the destination, and that's really the life that we're, this is like the pregame.

• 43:09Connor Wood?

Well, the highway is like the worst part of the drive to me. I can't even have my windows down, it's too loud.

• 43:15Brooke Averick?

  Some people love the highway.

• 43:16Connor Wood?

  Huh?

• 43:17Brooke Averick?

  Yeah, I don't.

• 43:19Connor Wood?

Does anyone here love the highway? How is the word?

• 43:23Brooke Averick?

Well, like, think about an open interstate. That could be hot.

• 43:27Connor Wood?

I don't like it. Too many lanes, too many people, too many-

• 43:30Brooke Averick?

  Yeah, I agree.

• 43:31Connor Wood?

I don't even wanna be in the middle. I don't wanna be next to the middle part of the-

• 43:33Brooke Averick?

Do you wanna look up the lyrics to "Life is a Highway" and see, like, dissect it a little bit more?

• 43:39Connor Wood?

"Life is a highway, I wanna ride it." Mmm, yeah. Woo! "Life's like a road that you travel on."

• 43:47Brooke Averick?

  Yeah.

• 43:47Connor Wood?

"When there's one day here and the next day gone." Okay. This is dark. Sometimes you bend, sometimes you stand.

• 43:55Brooke Averick?

  I don't-

• 43:55Connor Wood?

The fuck is this song? Nothing to do with the highway. "Sometimes you turn your back to the wind." You can, if you're in the car. "There's a world outside every darkened door." "Where blues won't haunt you anymore." "Where brave are free and lovers soar." Is this about dying? Is this whole song about death?

• 44:14Brooke Averick?

Come ride with me to the distant shore.

• 44:15Connor Wood?

It's the whole song's about death!

• 44:17Brooke Averick?

If you're going by, "Well, I wanna ride through these cities and all these towns." "It's in my blood and it's all around. I love you."

• 44:24Connor Wood?

  Like, "I love you now."

• 44:25Brooke Averick?

"From Mozambique to those Memphis nights." That is a long ride.

• 44:29Connor Wood?

From Mozambique. So, we're gonna take the highway from Mozambique. Download Waze right now, because we're gonna have to download Waze and get from Mozambique to Memphis to Mexico.

• 44:37Brooke Averick?

I'm gonna take the toll-free route from Mozambique to Memphis.

• 44:40Connor Wood?

I'm personally gonna go from Khyber Pass to Vancouver.

• 44:42Brooke Averick?

Can I ask where the Khyber Pass is?

• 44:44Connor Wood?

No, not right now, 'cause knock me down, I'm back up again. You're in my blood, I'm not alone.

• 44:48Brooke Averick?

  There's no load I can't hold.

• 44:51Brooke Averick?

  Thank you.

• 44:55Brooke Averick?

Can we, like, let's look up the meaning of "Life is a Highway."

• 44:58Connor Wood?

Let's look up the meaning of "There's no load I can't hold."

• 45:03Connor Wood?

"Life is a Highway" is a metaphor that compares the journey of life to traveling on a highway, complete with its twists, its turns.

• 45:08Brooke Averick?

  Yeah.

• 45:09Connor Wood?

Its upside downs. Guess what? Highway does not twist and turn, it's a straight line. It's-

• 45:13Brooke Averick?

Sometimes there's those loops, but I guess is that always an exit?

• 45:16Connor Wood?

If you're exiting. An ongoing journey, ups and downs, embracing the experience, resilience. I completely, this song has lost any ounce of significance to me now. Notoriety, gone.

• 45:31Brooke Averick?

  There's-

• 45:31Connor Wood?

It's, this is an utter nothing burger.

• 45:34Brooke Averick?

It just went off track for most of the song, yeah. "We're all travelers on this long winding road." Then that should be like the backroads in the woods.

• 45:43Connor Wood?

Yeah. It should be like, my phone died and I'm going by-

• 45:49Connor Wood?

Memory or like I had to print off Google Maps to get to this place and now I'm going down these windy roads and life is not straight and then the path to success is not linear. That should be Rascal Flatts. Like what did you? This is music made for the masses that don't question anything. We are here taking, we are staying curious and we're asking questions.

• 46:12Brooke Averick?

  Always.

• 46:13Connor Wood?

This is, that is so important.

• 46:14Brooke Averick?

That and that's one thing that's remained consistent about us through.

• 46:17Connor Wood?

Brooke, that felt really good to like come to that.

• 46:20Brooke Averick?

  Yeah.

• 46:20Connor Wood?

And it took Rascal Flatts his song, but like that is something that we've always done.

• 46:23Brooke Averick?

  I agree.

• 46:24Connor Wood?

We took something, we say, hang on. Let's look into this. Like, why have we all accepted this thing? The other thing related to the highway? People are always saying, don't reinvent the wheel. The wheel is old as time. There could be a better wheel and we've just accepted this existing wheel. What if we could make it more round? Or what if we would need a wheel that isn't even round at all? And it could be better.

• 46:47Brooke Averick?

Aren't there, but there are some people who are like, I want to reinvent the wheel.

• 46:51Connor Wood?

  Are they?

• 46:51Brooke Averick?

  Yeah.

• 46:52Connor Wood?

  Yeah, that's probably, they probably.

• 46:53Brooke Averick?

There are two kinds of people. People that want to reinvent the wheel and people that don't.

• 46:57Connor Wood?

But there's a lot of people that don't want the person to reinvent.

• 47:00Brooke Averick?

  Yeah.

• 47:00Connor Wood?

  Because they're worried about.

• 47:01Brooke Averick?

  They're afraid of change.

• 47:03Connor Wood?

  Yeah.

• 47:03Brooke Averick?

  Yeah.

• 47:04Connor Wood?

Oh my gosh, reinvent, everyone homework today, reinvent the wheel.

• 47:10Brooke Averick?

When's the last time you reinvented the wheel?

• 47:12Connor Wood?

I reinvent the wheel on accident almost every single day because I'm, my life is hard on, because of things that I make harder.

• 47:19Brooke Averick?

Yes. You do reinvent the wheel and you make it like, you turn a tire into a cinder block.

• 47:27Connor Wood?

I turn a tire into an exact Rubik's cube.

• 47:30Brooke Averick?

  Yeah.

• 47:30Connor Wood?

  That can't move.

• 47:31Brooke Averick?

  Yeah, it's unsolvable.

• 47:32Connor Wood?

It's unsolvable and I'm twisting. That's life is a highway.

• 47:35Brooke Averick?

  Yeah.

• 47:36Connor Wood?

It's a Rubik, life's a Rubik's cube. I'm twisting and turning. Where's the answer? And it's years and years and years.

• 47:48Brooke Averick?

  That was amazing.

• 47:49Connor Wood?

  Was it?

• 47:50Brooke Averick?

  You, today is your day.

• 47:53Connor Wood?

Brooks is in love with me.

• 47:55Brooke Averick?

  I am. Sing that again.

• 47:56Connor Wood?

  I don't remember. I don't remember. I don't want to do it again.

• 47:59Brooke Averick?

  Sing it again.

• 47:59Connor Wood?

She liked that version and I don't want to ruin it.

• 48:03Brooke Averick?

  That was so pretty.

• 48:05Connor Wood?

There is no load I can't handle.

• 48:07Brooke Averick?

There is. They've always said that about you. Who? Ah, I love it, champion.

• 48:14Connor Wood?

  That was great.

• 48:14Brooke Averick?

  That was amazing.

• 48:15Connor Wood?

It's so nice to see you and have a good laugh.

• 48:17Brooke Averick?

  It's nice to see me.

• 48:18Connor Wood?

It's so nice to see you.

• 48:20Brooke Averick?

It's so good to see me.

• 48:21Connor Wood?

Oh my gosh. Um, take the baton here from me. Pass the torch.

• 48:26Brooke Averick?

What else is there? I have a few. Well, Jonathan Bailey.

• 48:29Connor Wood?

  Congratulations.

• 48:30Brooke Averick?

Thank you. Um, I mean, I honestly, Jesus Christ, like, yes. By the way, the ice cream truck that comes every episode and goes do, do, do, do, just came and blasted it. Blasted its load.

• 48:47Brooke Averick?

As soon as Jonathan Bailey's picture came up, and I agree, he is the sexiest man alive. And for that reason, I wasn't even expecting him to be the sexiest man alive because I feel like people is never like this on the pulse. It was like too obvious. It's so obvious that I wasn't even expecting.

• 49:03Connor Wood?

Am I making it up that?

• 49:04Brooke Averick?

He is the sexiest man alive.

• 49:06Connor Wood?

It came out that for a while, people were like paying for this title?

• 49:09Brooke Averick?

There's no way he paid for it.

• 49:10Connor Wood?

No, I know that he wouldn't because he's a stand up guy.

• 49:12Brooke Averick?

The most, can I be honest? Yes, he's the sexiest man alive on the outside. He's the sexiest soul in the world.

• 49:19Connor Wood?

Jesse McCartney wrote the song about him.

• 49:23Brooke Averick?

You and your sexy ass soul?

• 49:27Brooke Averick?

He, like, oh my God, like, yes. He, I look at him and I'm like, this is the hottest person I've ever seen. I look a little deeper. I'm, I'm connect, I can't explain the way I'm connect, I connect to him on a soul level. I see and I look at him, I see inside of him.

• 49:44Connor Wood?

Could he sit here on the podcast, you think? Or no, you couldn't do that?

• 49:48Brooke Averick?

I think that he would make me feel so safe and loved and beautiful and smart and cherished because of how sexy his soul is that I would feel okay.

• 50:04Connor Wood?

  Jonathan Bailey.

• 50:05Brooke Averick?

  Not only okay, amazing.

• 50:07Connor Wood?

  Bring out Jonathan.

• 50:10Brooke Averick?

  Saying that.

• 50:11Connor Wood?

Jonathan Bailey will be on this podcast.

• 50:14Brooke Averick?

He is the love of my, like, he is incredible. Like,

• 50:21Brooke Averick?

I love him so much. Look at him.

• 50:25Connor Wood?

Yeah, that's, that was a good choice. That was a good choice. He deserves.

• 50:28Brooke Averick?

I, and you know that I, there, I have so many crushes. He is the sexiest man alive.

• 50:35Connor Wood?

Look, not, like, there's not even one person that's like, what?

• 50:38Brooke Averick?

No, there, there has never been a remotely negative word about Jonathan Bailey.

• 50:43Connor Wood?

I am so glad I didn't win people's sexiest TikToker. Because if it, with one person was like, what the fuck? I'd be like, oh, I have to kill myself soon.

• 50:52Brooke Averick?

  Yeah.

• 50:53Connor Wood?

  Today.

• 50:54Brooke Averick?

Did you not win a few years ago?

• 50:56Connor Wood?

No, it was last year and I didn't win.

• 50:57Brooke Averick?

Oh, well, what an honor just to be nominated.

• 51:00Connor Wood?

True. Henry, Henry, Henry won this year.

• 51:02Brooke Averick?

  Yes. Congrats to him.

• 51:05Connor Wood?

  Deserved. Another deserved win.

• 51:07Brooke Averick?

  A very sexy guy.

• 51:08Connor Wood?

Another W for Henry, Henry, Henry. And, and, and.

• 51:10Brooke Averick?

  Sexy man and his bags.

• 51:15Connor Wood?

  So true.

• 51:17Brooke Averick?

Anyway, like, there's really nothing to say about, nothing much more to say about Jonathan Bailey, except for he is sexy in mind and body and soul. And, and it's so amazing.

• 51:27Connor Wood?

Yeah. And that was, again, it's just like, that's a good, I bet that's going to boost people's sales and interest in people.

• 51:34Brooke Averick?

Yeah, I, I actually, this is the only time I've been like, I'm going to walk out of my house and go to a magazine store and buy a magazine. Because that's how deeply I want Jonathan Bailey.

• 51:45Connor Wood?

  This is real journalism.

• 51:46Brooke Averick?

  This is journalism.

• 51:47Connor Wood?

  Yeah.

• 51:47Brooke Averick?

They, people had a huge win here.

• 51:51Brooke Averick?

And congratulations on being the first gay, out gay sexiest man. A man who appreciates a sexy man, he said on Jimmy Fallon. And then Jimmy Fallon laughed really awkwardly and continued. And I feel, I felt like that moment needed to actually be acknowledged and celebrated. So I just want to flag congratulations to the sexiest man alive who appreciates a sexy man.

• 52:10Connor Wood?

  Yeah.

• 52:12Brooke Averick?

  Thanks.

• 52:14Connor Wood?

  Yes.

• 52:15Brooke Averick?

  Yes.

• 52:15Connor Wood?

Um, and also Jimmy Fallon's never not laughed awkwardly. I don't think he has a normal one.

• 52:19Brooke Averick?

I don't want to say anything negative about anyone ever.

• 52:23Connor Wood?

  No.

• 52:23Brooke Averick?

And I think Jimmy Fallon is awesome in so many ways.

• 52:28Connor Wood?

  Me too.

• 52:30Connor Wood?

  Loving the death.

• 52:31Brooke Averick?

But sometimes just being a talk show host might not be the.

• 52:34Connor Wood?

Well, it's just like, like, uh, if you're recording yourself every single night, there are going to be things that people don't like about you. What?

• 52:41Brooke Averick?

Oh, sorry. I'm talking to Jimmy, like about Jimmy.

• 52:43Connor Wood?

  What are you gonna say?

• 52:44Brooke Averick?

No, I was saying Jimmy, you've gotta like engage in conversation almost. Does that make sense?

• 52:49Connor Wood?

  Probably so tired.

• 52:51Brooke Averick?

I mean, I can imagine being drained, but I do think as a talk show, you've gotta kind of have conversation. That's all I'll say.

• 53:00Connor Wood?

  It's a ba- it's a.

• 53:01Brooke Averick?

  That's all I'll say.

• 53:01Connor Wood?

  Dialogue back and forth.

• 53:02Brooke Averick?

Yes, it's important to have dialogue.

• 53:04Connor Wood?

You know who's so good at it? And Saul Hanks was on Seth the other day.

• 53:08Brooke Averick?

  That is amazing.

• 53:09Connor Wood?

Did you see they made the TikTok that he always makes? The Gracie Abrams song?

• 53:14Brooke Averick?

What you gonna hurt you off?

• 53:15Connor Wood?

And Hank took his shirt off in the dressing room?

• 53:17Brooke Averick?

Yeah, and then panned back to Seth, just being hysterical and amazing.

• 53:21Connor Wood?

I was in that dressing room with Meredith, Wish Fun Kitchen, and when he came in. He didn't look at me or anything, which is totally cool.

• 53:27Brooke Averick?

  He's the greatest.

• 53:29Connor Wood?

You know what's weird is that studio space, there's Seth right here, and then the SNL stage is to the left. It's like they're right next to each other. That's fascinating to me. Um, I was in Boston last week, you know, there we go.

• 53:42Brooke Averick?

  I commented on it.

• 53:43Connor Wood?

  There's no way.

• 53:45Connor Wood?

  Um,

• 53:47Connor Wood?

  I was in Boston.

• 53:48Brooke Averick?

Yeah, you were in Boston. How was it?

• 53:50Connor Wood?

It was, uh, like, I'm, I know you don't like Boston. I adore this little city.

• 53:56Brooke Averick?

  Yeah.

• 53:57Connor Wood?

And I mean little city with my chest.

• 53:59Brooke Averick?

  It is tiny.

• 54:00Connor Wood?

I walked the whole thing on foot before the first show. It was a great show. It was amazing shows even.

• 54:06Brooke Averick?

  Amazing.

• 54:06Connor Wood?

  And everyone came dressed up.

• 54:08Brooke Averick?

  Love.

• 54:09Connor Wood?

Two young people came dressed as, one person came as Mark from Nordstrom and, um, the other person came as Ray from Framebridge. I really have to say quickly that like,

• 54:20Connor Wood?

I had a five minute interaction with Ray. I have not seen him since in the face. Dressed up as him for Halloween, like in Boston.

• 54:25Brooke Averick?

  He's touched so many lives.

• 54:26Connor Wood?

Truly, the way, he's a household name. Dressed up as him in Boston.

• 54:32Brooke Averick?

  That was so amazing.

• 54:34Connor Wood?

It was so amazing. People were dressed like to the nines. It was amazing. There were a lot of Jonathan's like.

• 54:38Brooke Averick?

That made my heart, my extremely fat heart, so incredibly happy.

• 54:43Connor Wood?

  Which one?

• 54:44Brooke Averick?

To see people dress as my cats.

• 54:46Connor Wood?

Yeah, there was like, there was a lot of trios that were like Max, Jonathan and Rob.

• 54:50Brooke Averick?

  That's so sweet.

• 54:52Connor Wood?

It was so sweet. I was just like looking around this. And then one young woman came in as a, as a naked cat. And that was hard. That was, that was.

• 54:59Brooke Averick?

  What was she wearing?

• 55:00Connor Wood?

That was hard for me as a performer, wearing a leotard, flash colored leotard, prosthetics on her face.

• 55:06Brooke Averick?

Hey, talk about imagine the crowd naked.

• 55:09Connor Wood?

Tell you what, I don't, I would not like it. I prefer them clothed.

• 55:14Brooke Averick?

Yeah, I got, no, I would've always said that.

• 55:15Connor Wood?

Imagine a naked crowd, just like genitalia everywhere, all over the chairs.

• 55:21Brooke Averick?

  Right. No one wants that.

• 55:22Connor Wood?

  No.

• 55:25Brooke Averick?

  Speaking of Jonathan Bailey.

• 55:27Connor Wood?

  Yeah.

• 55:27Brooke Averick?

  If I may.

• 55:28Connor Wood?

  Yeah.

• 55:29Brooke Averick?

  You know, he plays Fierro.

• 55:30Connor Wood?

  Of course.

• 55:31Brooke Averick?

In Wicked. The man currently playing Fierro on Broadway, ran the New York City Marathon. How many miles is that?

• 55:39Connor Wood?

  Twenty six point two.

• 55:40Brooke Averick?

He ran twenty six point two miles, hugged his wife, ran to the theater. And went out on stage as Fierro that night.

• 55:52Connor Wood?

He has one, he has one big tooth.

• 55:54Brooke Averick?

Do you understand how? I don't think I, like, I can't grasp how hard it is to run a marathon because I can't walk a mile. So I'm just trying to like imagine that. And then, do you know how emotionally and physically draining it is to perform? How?

• 56:10Connor Wood?

  Yes.

• 56:10Brooke Averick?

Like, how is it possible, speaking of like, how, why is not everyone hot? How is it possible that some people can't even walk a mile and some people can run twenty six and then Fierro?

• 56:21Connor Wood?

This is one of those things where it's like, okay, I just simply don't get it, you know, type thing. Cause I'm like, why is everyone crying? But then I'm like, I don't know. Cause I'd be like, I can't put myself in your hokas because I've never.

• 56:33Brooke Averick?

It, cause it's a feat of the human body.

• 56:36Connor Wood?

I I know, but like I run a lot and I'm like, I just don't, I'm not there. I can't wait to experience with their, with that feeling. Cause like I, I want to, I just like, I'm looking at it. I'm like, okay.

• 56:47Brooke Averick?

Hopefully one day, if you run a marathon, you cross the finish line, you feel everything in your body. You feel the 26 miles you just ran. And then you can put yourself in a position to imagine like, what if I had to go be Fierro right now?

• 57:00Connor Wood?

Right. Um, no, I'm gonna have a hundred beers if I drink, if I, if I run the New York Marathon.

• 57:06Brooke Averick?

Like, how can you even walk?

• 57:07Connor Wood?

Everyone that did it. I'm saying like, I genuinely like had not, I don't know what that experience is like. So from looking from the outside in. I'm confused. I also am bummed I didn't get, I didn't make it back for that day in the city, which I also think like, maybe being there, I would be able to like feel the emotions.

• 57:22Brooke Averick?

  Yeah.

• 57:23Connor Wood?

But so far, I'm just, it's something to look forward to. Next year, I hope.

• 57:29Connor Wood?

I do have to start training to right now.

• 57:31Brooke Averick?

Yeah, I think I would, if you ran the New York City Marathon, I would fly in for that.

• 57:35Connor Wood?

Really? Oh my gosh. Okay. Um, put it in your calendar. That's a good challenge. It's so nice to like, it's so nice to work towards something like that.

• 57:43Brooke Averick?

Nice to work towards something. Like when, what are you saving for via Rocket Money? Like, saving for your New York City money.

• 57:50Connor Wood?

If I lose my glasses, I'm telling you guys, I think I'm, we have to, I'm, I'm gonna, I'm going to go to jail. I'm going to turn myself in for a crime I didn't commit. Cause it's just like, these ones need to stay with me for the rest of my life.

• 58:04Brooke Averick?

I need to get new glasses and contacts.

• 58:07Connor Wood?

  Um.

• 58:08Brooke Averick?

Um, I was at an event last night.

• 58:10Connor Wood?

  Yeah.

• 58:10Brooke Averick?

Season three to Brittany and Royal Court. What an incredible feat. Um, and she had like a very like, uh, royal themed event and there was a magician slash wizard.

• 58:23Connor Wood?

  Yeah.

• 58:24Brooke Averick?

And he did a magic trick where he was like, I'm gonna like induct you into this society, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. Like to be inducted into a society, like you need a, like a mark. So he had me like close my fists. And then he was like, okay, which pick a fist. And I was like left and he's like, okay, great. Open it. And there was an X on my hand. My, and my fists were closed.

• 58:47Brooke Averick?

So I was like, how, how did you put that there? Put that thing back where it came from, so help me?

• 58:52Connor Wood?

  So help me.

• 58:54Brooke Averick?

So I thought a lot about it. I think he might have touched me, like before he started, like this whole thing. Before I closed my fist, I think there might have been, he might have touched my hand. That's fine, okay? But let's say he touched me and like there was some sort of transference of this Sharpie or stamp, whatever it is. How would he have known my fists were both closed when he said, pick a hand? So how would he have known to put it on my left? Riddle me that.

• 59:25Connor Wood?

  Women's intuition. I don't know.

• 59:27Brooke Averick?

That, like, to me, this is like magic does exist. My fists, like, I, they were shut.

• 59:36Connor Wood?

  I don't know.

• 59:37Brooke Averick?

And then, the next thing he did-

• 59:39Connor Wood?

No one could, no one told you?

• 59:40Brooke Averick?

No one could tell me, because I posted on my story, like, can someone explain this?

• 59:43Connor Wood?

  You posted it.

• 59:44Brooke Averick?

And someone was like, it's a stamp. And I was like, okay, I can see a world in which he, like, touched me before.

• 59:48Connor Wood?

  Yeah.

• 59:49Brooke Averick?

I cannot see a world, I am positive both of my hands were closed when I said left.

• 59:53Connor Wood?

This is something that I can't get involved with.

• 59:57Brooke Averick?

  So, oh, here's Reddit.

• 59:58Connor Wood?

  Oh, no.

• 59:58Brooke Averick?

But like, I almost don't even want to know.

• 1:00:00Connor Wood?

Magician somehow wrote on my hand. If someone can tell me how, I'm losing my mind.

• 1:00:03Brooke Averick?

Pull out a highlighter and take the cap off while-

• 1:00:06Connor Wood?

I do it all the time with a highlighter.

• 1:00:08Brooke Averick?

While motioning to your audience about the highlighter in your hand while doing said motions, mark your finger up. Mark your fingertip. The motioning masks-

• 1:00:17Connor Wood?

Did he lower your hand so that you could see better, like, at any point move?

• 1:00:21Brooke Averick?

Ask a member of their audience to put both palms face down in front of you, and you grabbing their hands to lower them to some different, yeah, he did lower my hands to a different altitude, so we can all see better, is where the secret marking takes place that person forgets about, because after your mark, you want to back off with body language to make them forget, with more showmanship that you ever touched them. But how did he know to put it on my left hand? Can I ask that? How do you do it with Sharpie? Even if it's a Sharpie highlighter?

• 1:00:43Connor Wood?

You know what I bet it was? You know what I bet it was?

• 1:00:46Brooke Averick?

  What?

• 1:00:47Connor Wood?

I bet it was like, if he guessed the right one, the, it's over. If he guessed the wrong one, he probably would have changed his, like, final, yeah.

• 1:00:58Brooke Averick?

What would he, what could he have changed to do?

• 1:01:00Connor Wood?

Right, like, I told you, I couldn't do that joke. Anyways, check your left hand. And he would have, it would have been on there, that's probably-

• 1:01:08Brooke Averick?

Okay, well then explain this one to me.

• 1:01:09Connor Wood?

  Okay.

• 1:01:11Brooke Averick?

He had me and Channing stand across from each other. Eyes closed. Everyone is watching.

• 1:01:18Connor Wood?

You guys are always doing that anyways.

• 1:01:21Brooke Averick?

He says, "Tell me how many taps you feel on your body." "I felt three taps." I say, "Three." Channing says, "Three." Everyone's like, "Holy shit, holy shit." I'm like, "What? What's going on?" Because my eyes are closed. Then he says, "Okay, I'm gonna tap you, "and I want you to point to where on your body I tapped you." I point to my nose. I assume Channing points to her nose because everyone's like, "Holy shit, holy shit, holy shit." We open our eyes. He goes, "I had, this whole time, I was only touching one of you." So he had established a Bluetooth link between Channing and I. It's actually me and Channing. Grammatically, thank you.

• 1:01:57Connor Wood?

  Mm-hmm.

• 1:01:57Brooke Averick?

  And

• 1:02:00Brooke Averick?

he was only touching me, but Channing felt the exact amount of touches on her body in the same spot? Both times.

• 1:02:07Connor Wood?

  That's bizarre. I don't know that one. No, I can't. Twins.

• 1:02:10Brooke Averick?

Can we look that one up, Izzy? How would you, would you think you would, what do you think you would Google? Bluetooth link? Between two people, magic trick? It was freaking ridiculous. I also, like, if I could manifest like my perfect man in the bonus section of like, I would do magician. Just by the way.

• 1:02:30Connor Wood?

  Magicians are-

• 1:02:31Brooke Averick?

I think that's like the most talented you can be.

• 1:02:33Connor Wood?

Magicians are so much fun to bring to a party, like to hire a magician for a party. The thing about most magicians, and I'm so sorry to the magician community, you linger a little bit too much. Like, you know when the joke is over and kind of, "Go have a drink or something." The magicians I've been around in my lifetime at parties, they are very much like, overstaying a little bit.

• 1:02:54Brooke Averick?

Oh, I want them to overstay as long as possible.

• 1:02:56Connor Wood?

No, no, no. It like gets to a point where it's like, "Okay, like that's, that was fun." I don't know. The magicians I've met are definitely lingerers.

• 1:03:03Brooke Averick?

You would have liked Scott. Okay. "The answer lies in NLP, neuro-linguistic programming. It's a method which you could change behavior through words. By using certain words or rephrasing words, you can manipulate the action of a person, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah."

• 1:03:17Connor Wood?

Well, this is not gonna get us anywhere, I fear.

• 1:03:19Brooke Averick?

  How did Channing feel that?

• 1:03:22Connor Wood?

This is not gonna, we need to-

• 1:03:24Brooke Averick?

To make you feel like you're being touched, the magician will ask for your consent and state that you are not going to be touched directly, which would make you feel comfortable, positive affirmation. Then you're told, without any context, he can cause a feeling of being touched by simply touching his or her own body. He, she, said he can do it with anyone in the audience, which made you uncomfortable, especially if you're forming in a large crowd.

• 1:03:43Connor Wood?

  Brooke, we gotta-

• 1:03:43Brooke Averick?

  Wait, what?

• 1:03:44Connor Wood?

We gotta wrap this one up.

• 1:03:47Connor Wood?

We gotta wrap this one up. This is not making any sense.

• 1:03:49Brooke Averick?

After rustling around and having his slash her way with you-

• 1:03:52Connor Wood?

Okay, we gotta wrap this one up.

• 1:03:54Brooke Averick?

  I don't understand.

• 1:03:55Connor Wood?

I gotta talk to you about, I gotta talk to you about pastrami in the bonus.

• 1:03:59Brooke Averick?

Cause then double that, that doesn't- Can we watch this video in the bonus?

• 1:04:03Connor Wood?

  Yeah, sure.

• 1:04:04Brooke Averick?

  Dishkin?

• 1:04:05Connor Wood?

I have to pee so bad.

• 1:04:05Brooke Averick?

  Okay, I do too.

• 1:04:06Connor Wood?

  Okay.

• 1:04:07Brooke Averick?

Okay, it was nice talking to you.

• 1:04:08Connor Wood?

Yeah, it was, that was such a blessing.

• 1:04:11Brooke Averick?

It really was, yeah. Thanks for coming on the-

• 1:04:13Connor Wood?

  Sometimes a blessing can be-

• 1:04:14Brooke Averick?

Oh wait, I wanna do this unboxing in the bonus.

• 1:04:16Connor Wood?

  Okay.

• 1:04:17Brooke Averick?

But we got, um, I love doing book unboxing, and we got, um, Lucas Gages-

• 1:04:22Connor Wood?

  Lucas!

• 1:04:23Brooke Averick?

Who I freaking adore and obsessed with. We got his memoir, which I'm really excited to, to die, sorry, I just showed our address. Um, I'm just really excited, I'm just gonna put my hand over the address. I'm really excited to be diving into this in the bonus, and you go pee, girl.

• 1:04:38Connor Wood?

  Thank you, okay.

• 1:04:39Brooke Averick?

  I love-

• 1:04:39Connor Wood?

  Thanks, guys. See ya.

• 1:04:42Brooke Averick?

Oh, it's, it's addressed to Fibula and Brooke.

• 1:04:44Connor Wood?

  That's very cute.

• 1:04:45Brooke Averick?

  I love him.

• 1:04:46Connor Wood?

I love him too. Okay, thank you, guys. Everyone, um, remember to-

• 1:04:50Brooke Averick?

  Sorry, I already started.

• 1:04:51Connor Wood?

Try to reinvent the wheel. Day, sit down, bye.

• 1:05:02Speaker 01

  Ugh, I hate Mondays.

• 1:05:03Speaker 02

  King's Hawaiian cinnamon swirl bite?

• 1:05:05Speaker 01

Uh, Taylor Hansen? Sure, I'll try one. Mmm.

• 1:05:11Speaker 03

Hey, let's get back to work, please.

• 1:05:12Speaker 01

But Taylor Hansen's making my day way better with these new soft and swirly King's Hawaiian cinnamon bites.

• 1:05:17Speaker 03

  Taylor Hansen? Nice!

• 1:05:19Speaker 02

  Try one.

• 1:05:20Speaker 03

  Mmm.

• 1:05:24Speaker 04

King's Hawaiian cinnamon bites. There's nothing like it.
