• 1:31Speaker 03

Hi, I'm Maya, I'm 22, I'm from New Braunfels and this is Financial Audit.

• 1:36Caleb Hammer?

  New Braunfels, Texas, right?

• 1:37Speaker 03

  Yes, sir.

• 1:38Caleb Hammer?

Perfect. And what do you do for a living?

• 1:41Speaker 03

So I am currently a ranch hand out in Johnson City. I do anything from herding cattle and to I'm doing-

• 1:50Caleb Hammer?

  You're full cowgirl?

• 1:51Speaker 03

  Yep.

• 1:52Caleb Hammer?

  But, wait, financial what?

• 1:55Speaker 03

To financial paperwork in the office at the end of the day.

• 1:57Caleb Hammer?

  You do the financial paperwork?

• 1:58Speaker 03

  Yep, I do everything.

• 2:00Caleb Hammer?

Okay, what are we making doing this?

• 2:02Speaker 03

Uh, anywhere from 15 to 20 an hour.

• 2:06Caleb Hammer?

Because I've had a horse girl on the show and it didn't really go well.

• 2:08Speaker 03

I'm not those weird horse girls, though. Those are like equestrians or like the hobby horse. I don't do that.

• 2:12Caleb Hammer?

You have a look of a horse girl.

• 2:14Speaker 03

Hey, I'll take it, but I'm not that weird.

• 2:16Caleb Hammer?

  Like the blond-haired horse girl?

• 2:17Speaker 03

I'll take it. Hey, at least mine isn't dyed, though. There's is, there's is fake.

• 2:21Caleb Hammer?

  What?

• 2:21Speaker 03

Just saying, horse girls. Like the weird equestrians, they're a little, they're a little died.

• 2:26Caleb Hammer?

  How much you make him?

• 2:27Speaker 03

  Eh. Six hundred a week.

• 2:34Caleb Hammer?

Okay. What the, oh, a week. Okay. Well, a week at least gives us something to play with. Uh, in my mind, I heard a month and I was like.

• 2:42Speaker 03

Oh, no, I wouldn't be able to survive at all.

• 2:44Caleb Hammer?

Is that before taxes or after taxes?

• 2:45Speaker 03

Uh, I don't do taxes with them right now.

• 2:48Caleb Hammer?

  What does that mean?

• 2:49Speaker 03

That is like a freelance gig that I do for the owners there.

• 2:54Caleb Hammer?

  That's not how money works?

• 2:57Speaker 03

  Yeah.

• 2:58Caleb Hammer?

Did a horse kick you in the head? I'm a little confused.

• 3:03Caleb Hammer?

You still have to pay taxes.

• 3:05Speaker 03

So that is the, like, all I'm talking about is that they do, they do the taxes on their end and then I'll do an I nine, I'll do a I nine? I nine for it on my end.

• 3:16Caleb Hammer?

  So you do pay taxes?

• 3:17Speaker 03

Yes. I just thought that you meant take it out of the chats that I get from them straight off the.

• 3:22Caleb Hammer?

  You put aside some money?

• 3:24Speaker 03

Yes. Well, try to, but we've seen how that was going.

• 3:29Caleb Hammer?

Yes, I have seen how that goes. Okay, so, I mean, I don't think your tax bill would be substantially high by any means. But you still will, might owe something in the end. I mean, you don't have any kids, right?

• 3:42Speaker 03

  No, no kids. I'm good.

• 3:44Caleb Hammer?

So, I mean, there's likely still some tax bills that would be coming, but you're on the lower income scale for sure. So two thousand four hundred hits. Before you put anything anywhere.

• 3:54Speaker 03

  Yeah.

• 3:54Caleb Hammer?

How many hours a week are you working?

• 3:55Speaker 03

Uh, anywhere from thirty to seventy. Just depends on what we're doing.

• 4:00Caleb Hammer?

Okay, then you can get a different job. If our, if our gross pay, gross, not even net gross pay is less than thirty thousand dollars a year. Run. Hop on a horse, jump the fence, run.

• 4:14Speaker 03

I, I got it. I got different jobs. It's only about like a month.

• 4:18Caleb Hammer?

  What were you doing before?

• 4:20Speaker 03

I was a carpenter in Drifting Springs at a shop at a private ranch and I ended up almost cutting the top of my finger off with a table saw.

• 4:29Caleb Hammer?

Go be a different carpenter then. Instead of working at a private ranch, why don't you just go have a normal job instead of working for different ranches?

• 4:35Speaker 03

  Normal jobs are boring.

• 4:37Caleb Hammer?

  Normal jobs pay the bills.

• 4:39Speaker 03

They, they do, yes. They were paying the bills as well when I was there, so it's just a matter of-

• 4:43Caleb Hammer?

  What were you making?

• 4:44Speaker 03

I was making the, about the same that I'm making at the ranch now.

• 4:49Caleb Hammer?

And what the, okay, twenty-two, could be a year of, we might be in college, might be taking a break from college, might be serving in the military. Do we have anything going for you, or are you just nothing?

• 5:00Speaker 03

I am in college right now. I'm a junior in college in Beaumont. I go fully online.

• 5:04Caleb Hammer?

  Okay. Beaumont?

• 5:06Speaker 03

Yeah, I just moved from Beaumont. Bad ideas, I know.

• 5:09Caleb Hammer?

I don't know, but, I was gonna say, it's a long commute. Okay.

• 5:13Speaker 03

I go fully online, so I don't have to drive down there.

• 5:15Caleb Hammer?

  Yeah, what are you studying?

• 5:16Speaker 03

  Uh, criminal justice.

• 5:17Caleb Hammer?

Okay, I mean, that can definitely be a play. What are you trying to do afterward?

• 5:21Speaker 03

I'm trying to do FBI forensics side of things, so.

• 5:24Caleb Hammer?

Okay, now I don't know, like, the acceptance rate into Quantico.

• 5:28Speaker 03

Yeah, no, it's definitely very low. I definitely have to push my standards a little bit.

• 5:31Caleb Hammer?

  Well, do you have alternatives?

• 5:33Speaker 03

Uh, corrections. I've been looking into corrections in Austin and San Antonio, trying to make my way up that way.

• 5:36Caleb Hammer?

Okay, but that also doesn't really pay that well.

• 5:39Speaker 03

No, it doesn't, but it definitely pays more than I want to make it now.

• 5:41Caleb Hammer?

And you want to do corrections, like being in the jail?

• 5:44Speaker 03

  Yes.

• 5:45Caleb Hammer?

We've had some people tell some wild correction stories on this show. I think it was a member exclusive audit, someone who was in and out of prison like crazy. Uh, the, lots of bad things with the lady guards, I'll be honest. Unless, are you gonna be in a ladies' prison?

• 5:59Speaker 03

I don't know yet, whatever, whatever they need me to do, so.

• 6:02Caleb Hammer?

It was quite bad on the other side in the, in the state ran, local ran.

• 6:06Speaker 03

Yeah, that, that's a given, though, especially if you're gonna be a girl in any, any fields like that, or blue collar, there's always gonna be shit towards you.

• 6:13Caleb Hammer?

Well, he said it was good in, in federal, but.

• 6:15Speaker 03

Yeah, it's federal, but you also have to work your way up to it, that's for sure.

• 6:20Caleb Hammer?

Work your way up to federal? So everyone starts in the bull, okay.

• 6:24Speaker 03

Just like you start out on probation. Yes.

• 6:28Caleb Hammer?

But if you don't get that, we're just making-

• 6:31Speaker 03

No, not necessarily. No, there's, there's always other alternatives. That's just my biggest, hey, I gotta go this and I want it, so I'm gonna try and make it. Life's just had other plans and that's been my own fault.

• 6:43Caleb Hammer?

Okay, what are the life other plans? What's been your fault? What's that? What are we talking about? What's going on?

• 6:47Speaker 03

Anywhere from moving out of state almost to dropping.

• 6:52Caleb Hammer?

  It means you didn't, so.

• 6:53Speaker 03

Oh yeah, no, I didn't, but constantly moving or things like that, or different jobs every other six months or so.

• 7:02Caleb Hammer?

Well, why? Why are we leaving and going to different jobs all the time? The, the, the safety of the finger thing, I get that.

• 7:08Speaker 03

  Yeah, definitely.

• 7:09Caleb Hammer?

But why are we leaving jobs every second of our life?

• 7:12Speaker 03

I've, I've chosen the not so good jobs.

• 7:14Caleb Hammer?

  That's some Beaumont.

• 7:17Speaker 03

I like that laugh. Beaumont especially. I've done anywhere from plants that weren't the best. I've done heavy equipment operations. Uh huh. I was a process operator in the plants.

• 7:26Caleb Hammer?

I'm sure you've done siblings as well. Okay, so we're just jumping from everywhere, but no actual focus.

• 7:33Speaker 03

  Yeah, no.

• 7:33Caleb Hammer?

Junior in college at 22, that is, uh, everyone can do it at their own pace, own timeline, but that is typically older for junior.

• 7:40Speaker 03

Yes, so I skipped a year after high school because I was supposed to go military, ended up not doing military because I didn't want to be active duty.

• 7:48Speaker 03

  Bad choice on that part.

• 7:49Caleb Hammer?

  Okay, it was it? I don't, I don't know.

• 7:52Speaker 03

I, I think so. I should have done it, but the.

• 7:54Caleb Hammer?

But you can or can't, I don't know. I only want people to serve who want to serve because then they're gonna go kick ass.

• 7:59Speaker 03

  Yeah.

• 7:59Caleb Hammer?

If people don't want to, they're just gonna be not the people you want on the front lines, I assume.

• 8:04Speaker 03

Yeah, you're not wrong about that one.

• 8:06Caleb Hammer?

  So, okay.

• 8:08Speaker 03

But yeah, no, it's just a matter of I've done some stupid things and I've, it's a fear of missing out is kind of why I did it.

• 8:15Caleb Hammer?

No, okay, my, my fear as we go into this conversation, as we think about the finances, my fear is.

• 8:24Caleb Hammer?

It is clear from the life you're living that you are not someone who can focus on something. You are a life ADHD.

• 8:30Speaker 03

Yep, that is exactly what it is.

• 8:32Caleb Hammer?

Life ADHD, you don't stay. I'm surprised you've made it to your third year of college with how quickly you've changed things, apparently. Did you go in for criminal justice? Have we changed?

• 8:43Speaker 03

Yeah, no, I actually went in for criminal justice. I did, I actually.

• 8:46Caleb Hammer?

How are you paying for school? How are you paying for life? How are you working 70 hours a week while doing school?

• 8:50Speaker 03

I actually was in foster care, so that is paying for my school, thankfully, through the state of Texas.

• 8:56Caleb Hammer?

  Okay.

• 8:56Speaker 03

So I don't have to worry about student loans or anything like that, but I'm definitely.

• 9:01Speaker 03

These past two semesters, I have not been the greatest in, so. I'm not doing the best on that either.

• 9:09Caleb Hammer?

Hold on, the past two semesters is half the time you've been in fucking college. What do you mean you're not doing that well?

• 9:14Speaker 03

I'm talking about like the past, like, we have eight week intervals with my school, so there's been this semester and then the last semester.

• 9:22Caleb Hammer?

Haven't you only, if you're going into junior year, or are you in junior year?

• 9:26Speaker 03

  I am in junior year.

• 9:27Caleb Hammer?

Haven't you, aren't you in your fifth semester then?

• 9:31Speaker 03

  Math, maybe? Yes. No. Six.

• 9:35Caleb Hammer?

Okay, so a third of school, you.

• 9:37Speaker 03

  Yeah.

• 9:38Caleb Hammer?

What do you mean is struggling? What's happening?

• 9:40Speaker 03

Uh, just me. I'm doing it to myself. We're definitely so, but I, I moved.

• 9:46Caleb Hammer?

No, tell me what's actually fucking happening!

• 9:48Speaker 03

I, it's my birthday week. I turned 22. I kinda just took a break from life and avoided all the stress and.

• 9:55Caleb Hammer?

  Oh, our civilization's done.

• 9:57Speaker 03

Yeah, no, I went to New Orleans and everything else for my birthday and I.

• 10:02Caleb Hammer?

So you're on this show, this means your money's not going well. Uh, you, listen, you got the free college thing and I'm happy to get that. It's because you went through foster. It's not like you were just given it for no reason, so. There's a good reason you have it. Okay, we can take advantage of that. Taking advantage of that is actually getting a step ahead of everyone else that you're competing with in the marketplace of life, in the marketplace of getting a house at some point, in the marketplace of actually getting a better car, whatever it might be. Retirement.

• 10:32Speaker 03

  Yeah.

• 10:33Caleb Hammer?

  Retirement.

• 10:33Speaker 03

  You're not wrong about that.

• 10:34Caleb Hammer?

You have that step ahead because the rest of us, we have to pay for school.

• 10:37Speaker 03

  Yeah.

• 10:37Caleb Hammer?

It's a fair reason why you're not. However, you're using it as an opportunity to support the week New Orleans?

• 10:43Speaker 03

It's a matter of I didn't do anything growing up, so now I'm using my adulthood to do that and it's just,

• 10:51Caleb Hammer?

But you're not, but you're still in college.

• 10:53Speaker 03

  Yeah, I am.

• 10:54Caleb Hammer?

That's not the go do stuff time. That's when you're, you're in college. Have fun in college, yes. But typically when we don't have the strongest income isn't when we're going and exploring the world. That is the, when we have a career, an emergency fund retirement, hitting the goals, we're hitting the savings goals we want to get maybe. We're getting a house, whatever it is.

• 11:11Speaker 03

You can, you can do both. It's, it's a good little balance of things, definitely.

• 11:15Caleb Hammer?

We can balance things, but if you're on this show, you haven't balanced things.

• 11:19Speaker 03

It, it, it, that's why I'm here.

• 11:21Caleb Hammer?

  That's why I'm here.

• 11:22Speaker 03

We're seeing, we're seeing to see if it'll, it'll figure itself out.

• 11:25Caleb Hammer?

That's why I'm here, not a fucking answer. I know why you're here. It's because your finances are done. That's why everyone's here. We get it. Okay. But I'm asking you questions about what landed us here in the first place. That's not a, that's why I'm here.

• 11:37Speaker 03

It's, it's the fear of missing out from whatever I didn't do. So now it's like, hey, I can do whatever I want.

• 11:43Caleb Hammer?

But you've already missed out. How can you be afraid of something that already happened? That's what are you talking about?

• 11:47Speaker 03

Well, if the things happen, then I can't do them. So.

• 11:49Caleb Hammer?

What's happening? What happened in New Orleans that's not happening in a year from now in New Orleans?

• 11:52Speaker 03

Wyatt Flores concert with my best friend.

• 11:54Caleb Hammer?

Okay. No one knows what that is. So.

• 11:56Speaker 03

It's a country artist. He's an up and coming country artist. He's pretty good.

• 12:02Speaker 03

It's not bad. I liked him.

• 12:03Caleb Hammer?

Up and coming. Maybe wait until he comes and then you can go and then it's a bigger concert.

• 12:07Speaker 03

Well, now it's cheaper instead of waiting till then. So it, it kind of gives me the, hey, it's cheaper now. So why not do it?

• 12:14Caleb Hammer?

Okay. Because you don't have money would be the answer.

• 12:16Speaker 03

Yeah. That'll be all right though. Money, money comes back.

• 12:22Caleb Hammer?

Then the, that's why I'm here is bull.

• 12:24Speaker 03

Then we went to Houston though.

• 12:27Caleb Hammer?

With that, with that mindset, it's bullshit. Give a fuck about Houston. With that mindset, it's bullshit.

• 12:35Caleb Hammer?

The that's why I'm here, not if the money goes and comes back. Then then then the that's why you're here doesn't get you anywhere. I can't do anything if to you money is is gone and comes back. A natural flow. By the way, it's not how it works. You have to work and go get the money and you can choose not to spend the money. It is not a natural flow. It's not a universal element. That is not what is happening. You are not giving back to the earth.

• 13:02Speaker 03

Definitely not. I'm definitely giving back to the memories that I made when I'm 22 and.

• 13:07Caleb Hammer?

Yeah, but you have a statistical long life. And what about the vast majority? Vast majority of your life where you can have more memories because you're actually able to afford them instead of fucking the rest of your life. Right now.

• 13:22Speaker 03

What makes it better too is the fact that it's like, hey, I can. I can try and do these things and they're cheaper now instead of then, so.

• 13:30Caleb Hammer?

  What are you looking?

• 13:31Speaker 03

  I don't know. We're figuring that out.

• 13:34Caleb Hammer?

I don't think we are. Um, the producers aren't. To everyone else who's been watching this show, they know the producers are back there. We moved studios. They're not back there anymore.

• 13:43Speaker 03

  Yeah.

• 13:44Caleb Hammer?

  I don't know where you're looking. It's a corner.

• 13:48Speaker 03

Hey, it's a pretty, pretty, pretty corner. And a little, little buff.

• 13:57Caleb Hammer?

Is there a ghost back there?

• 13:58Speaker 03

Maybe. We never know. It's Austin.

• 14:00Caleb Hammer?

The ghosts of your mysterious parents?

• 14:02Speaker 03

  Yeah, that too.

• 14:04Caleb Hammer?

Okay. Okay, so I mean, how much are we spending on these memories, these experiences, these concerts, these clubs?

• 14:13Speaker 03

Probably anywhere from starting 500 up to 1,000.

• 14:18Speaker 03

Depending on if I do merch or gaffs or tickets.

• 14:22Caleb Hammer?

Merch or gas? How are you not doing gas? You're always doing gas.

• 14:25Speaker 03

Gas is given, but then it's merch and drinks and going out after the concert, Ubers, things like that.

• 14:34Caleb Hammer?

  How often?

• 14:36Speaker 03

Uh, probably twice, three times a month.

• 14:41Caleb Hammer?

Oh, that can't be possible. Mathematically, that can't be possible. What the f- are you talking about? Where?

• 14:50Speaker 03

Uh, I did San- I've done San Antonio, Houston, New Orleans, and Palestine all those past

• 14:56Caleb Hammer?

  Palestine?

• 14:57Speaker 03

  three weeks.

• 14:57Caleb Hammer?

I don't know where that is.

• 14:58Speaker 03

Palestine's up by like Dallas area.

• 15:00Caleb Hammer?

Okay, so at least you're not going fucking cross state. I mean, New Orleans, I mean, you're, it's, it's pretty close by to where you are, but... Well, not anymore. When did you move to New Braunfels?

• 15:11Speaker 03

  Uh, February 1st.

• 15:12Caleb Hammer?

By Austin, by the way. It's like an hour south, which is not near New Orleans. Okay.

• 15:16Speaker 03

  No, not at all.

• 15:17Caleb Hammer?

Well, you're not still fucking going, are you?

• 15:20Speaker 03

Uh, I may or may not have two trips planned.

• 15:23Caleb Hammer?

Every month like it's a birthday month.

• 15:25Speaker 03

Just about. Sounds like it, yeah. I did... Why not? I'm 22 and it's, it's been-

• 15:31Caleb Hammer?

Why not? Cause you don't have money is why not? What the f- are you talking about why not? That, I mean, that's the answer.

• 15:39Speaker 03

Credit cards, things like that. I could, hey, if I use it then-

• 15:42Caleb Hammer?

  Credit cards is why not?

• 15:44Speaker 03

If I use it now, I can pay it then.

• 15:46Caleb Hammer?

When you talk about spending money on gas, is it the gas that you're huffing? What are you talking about?

• 15:50Speaker 03

No, gas light for my car with how much I drive. Like to all these different places.

• 15:57Speaker 00

• 16:23Caleb Hammer?

And do you warm up the car in the garage with the door shut before you leave?

• 16:27Speaker 03

No. I don't even keep my car in a garage.

• 16:30Caleb Hammer?

Uh, okay. We know 2004 comes in. What went out last month? Spent, and that includes debt going up as well? Cause that's obviously what you have to spend on.

• 16:42Speaker 03

I don't even know what went out, if we're being honest.

• 16:45Caleb Hammer?

Interesting, you're interesting to observe. Now we're tasting the corner of our mouth. Okay, I'm just...

• 16:51Caleb Hammer?

  Okay.

• 16:53Caleb Hammer?

  Okay, um...

• 16:57Caleb Hammer?

What an interesting show. Oh, yeah. What do you think you spent? Okay, you're still doing it.

• 17:01Speaker 03

Hey, I got fake teeth. They're, they're, they're, I can play with them. Uh, I have no clue what I spent.

• 17:06Caleb Hammer?

  Why?

• 17:06Speaker 03

Uh, I chipped my teeth when I was in eighth grade and so I have crowns now for them. That's also another thing.

• 17:13Caleb Hammer?

  How'd you chip them?

• 17:13Speaker 03

  Uh, soccer practice.

• 17:15Caleb Hammer?

  Okay, okay.

• 17:16Speaker 03

So it wasn't too bad. It could have been worse.

• 17:18Caleb Hammer?

And it didn't come with a brain injury?

• 17:20Speaker 03

Maybe. We're still ruling that out.

• 17:23Caleb Hammer?

How much did you spend last month?

• 17:24Speaker 03

For being honest, I never paid attention.

• 17:26Caleb Hammer?

Of course not. What do you think you spent last month? Just like, put yourself back there. Walk your shoes, boots, that you're booting in.

• 17:35Speaker 03

  Probably three thousand?

• 17:37Caleb Hammer?

  Okay, four thousand.

• 17:40Speaker 03

Uh, yeah, no, that's a given.

• 17:43Speaker 03

I was going out almost every day.

• 17:46Speaker 03

  Outside of work.

• 17:47Caleb Hammer?

  Going out, doing what?

• 17:48Speaker 03

Uh, dance halls, drinking, going to the beach, hanging out with friends.

• 17:55Caleb Hammer?

Beach? You're in fucking New Braunfels. The fuck are you talking about?

• 17:58Speaker 03

Four days, only a two and a half hour drive.

• 18:01Caleb Hammer?

How are you doing this? If you're work- Well, I'm not shocked that school is suffering. Are we shocked that we're putting in, what, you said almost seventy hours a week sometimes?

• 18:09Speaker 03

  Yeah.

• 18:10Caleb Hammer?

Seventy hours a week and yet still making less than thirty thousand dollars a year? Yeah, I get a different job. But not only that, then you have school and you're taking two and a half hour trips to the beach and going out and getting fucked up every night?

• 18:20Speaker 03

  Yeah.

• 18:21Caleb Hammer?

Yeah, no shit. That you're wasting your free school. This free school thing, how long does it go? Is it forever? Can you do as much school as you want for free?

• 18:29Speaker 03

It is forever, as long as it is a Texas nonprofit, uh, nonprofit institution. So if it's-

• 18:35Caleb Hammer?

  Even if you're failing forever?

• 18:37Speaker 03

  Well, no, no, definitely not.

• 18:39Caleb Hammer?

What if it takes you eight years to do undergrad while you're going full time the entire eight years?

• 18:42Speaker 03

No, it definitely doesn't cover that.

• 18:44Caleb Hammer?

Exactly. So tell me what the cap is?

• 18:46Speaker 03

Uh, the cap, it, as soon as you fail a class, I think you get on probation for like a year or so with them.

• 18:52Caleb Hammer?

How close are we to failing? For the last two semesters?

• 18:54Speaker 03

I think I have- Two of them are medically recovered, so I got a W on my transcript instead of an F.

• 19:02Caleb Hammer?

  Medically recovered?

• 19:03Speaker 03

  Yes.

• 19:04Caleb Hammer?

  Well, what happened?

• 19:05Speaker 03

Uh, I was diagnosed with POTS and, uh, that's-

• 19:08Caleb Hammer?

  I know that word. I don't, wait, that's like-

• 19:10Speaker 03

Postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome. So, anything that I do, standing up, sitting down, my blood pressure rises, my heart rate drops, and I faint.

• 19:18Caleb Hammer?

Anything you do, standing up or sitting down, that means existing.

• 19:21Speaker 03

Yeah, just about. That's kinda why I was medically recovered.

• 19:24Caleb Hammer?

What about school outside of the POTS?

• 19:25Speaker 03

  School, the-

• 19:26Caleb Hammer?

  The rest.

• 19:27Speaker 03

We're very, we're one class away from probation for a year.

• 19:30Caleb Hammer?

  So, we're talking like D, C, C D?

• 19:32Speaker 03

  C's, D's.

• 19:34Caleb Hammer?

Are you fucking kidding me? You're given the blessing of a lifetime for a situation that sucked, don't get me wrong, but you're given the blessing of a lifetime. Lifetime, and you're fucking it.

• 19:44Speaker 03

Just a little bit. I have taken advantage of it.

• 19:48Caleb Hammer?

No, you're on the edge, and yet you're going and getting fucked up every, what, what, what is your lifestyle? What are you trying to do? Like, what are you trying to do with your life? You're just a party fucking person?

• 19:58Speaker 03

  Yeah.

• 19:58Caleb Hammer?

  Just forever?

• 19:59Speaker 03

No, not necessarily. It's just what I, it's taken away from-

• 20:03Caleb Hammer?

Is this what, like, is this just what you do, like?

• 20:05Speaker 03

No, it's, it's, it's, it's what my friends do, but it's also what I'm doing right now, so-

• 20:10Caleb Hammer?

It's okay to have fun. I'm not saying don't have fun, but if it is, it every night occurrence and we're going to a two and a half hour beach away constantly while it's also trying to work and do full-time school? And we're gonna lose our free college? You're, you're fucking it. You're ruining the whole thing. You're smiling.

• 20:29Speaker 03

  Yeah, just a little bit.

• 20:33Caleb Hammer?

  What?

• 20:33Speaker 03

It, it's just, I've, I've, I've done it and I've recovered from it, so why not do it again?

• 20:40Caleb Hammer?

Recovered from what? You are borderline failing right now. You haven't recovered from a single thing. What are you talking about? You've recovered from broken teeth, that's it.

• 20:46Speaker 03

I've, I've done this freshman year, so it's not the first time I've-

• 20:51Caleb Hammer?

No, you said the last two semesters were the struggle.

• 20:53Speaker 03

Yeah, that, that's definitely, but I've also done it before in freshman year and came back from that, and then I went right back down the rabbit hole of it.

• 21:01Caleb Hammer?

That means it's a recurring thing that makes it worse. That means you've only been okay for one year out of the three you're doing so far.

• 21:09Speaker 03

And it it can it can be recovered.

• 21:11Caleb Hammer?

It can be recovered, or it can go worse. Just because you recovered once doesn't mean you can recover again.

• 21:16Speaker 03

  Yeah, you're you're not wrong.

• 21:18Caleb Hammer?

If you live in a car accident, does that mean you should go have a car accident once a year? I don't think so. At one point, you're gonna die, or at least face something critical.

• 21:27Speaker 03

  But it is.

• 21:28Caleb Hammer?

Blood? You're gonna give me a blood?

• 21:30Speaker 03

There's not a timeline to it. Some people take a little bit longer with things, and that's okay.

• 21:35Caleb Hammer?

Longer's okay. Longer's okay. You're on the borderline of failing, which is gonna get you on probation, which then go through that next step. You're gonna be done. Also, that you can go line dancing or go to the beach. This is a joke. You're you're acting like a child. You're not 22. You're acting 12.

• 21:51Speaker 03

I'd rather have memories at some points, but yeah.

• 21:54Caleb Hammer?

You're blacked out. There is no memories. They're they don't exist.

• 21:59Speaker 03

If you drink in moderation, then you don't get blacked out.

• 22:02Caleb Hammer?

Memories are good. There is a lot of life to live. Don't all future memories for the sake of a couple of years of memories.

• 22:11Speaker 03

Yeah, I I can give you that. Yeah, you're not wrong.

• 22:14Caleb Hammer?

Good. Oh, my gosh. Something actually made it through.

• 22:17Speaker 03

  Yeah, it's a given.

• 22:19Caleb Hammer?

It's a given. Is that your catchphrase?

• 22:21Speaker 03

  Yeah, at some points.

• 22:21Caleb Hammer?

  It's oh, it's a given. That's that's your like catchphrase.

• 22:26Speaker 03

More of the avoid all of life and go do everything else that doesn't deal with the responsibilities of.

• 22:32Caleb Hammer?

Are we doing? Because I'm not like, you don't walk away from anything from the show that's an instruction that is not responsibilities.

• 22:38Speaker 03

  Yeah, I I hey, I I'm trying. I've I'm I have I'm on the waitlist.

• 22:43Caleb Hammer?

  Waitlist for what?

• 24:40Speaker 03

Yeah, you're not wrong. It's it's there's new opportunities for more money that I can finally maybe snap out of my.

• 24:47Caleb Hammer?

  That you don't have.

• 24:48Speaker 03

  Start paying things off.

• 24:49Caleb Hammer?

You don't have. You're not working them.

• 24:53Speaker 03

Yeah, I am. I'm at the ranch.

• 24:56Caleb Hammer?

The ranch that you work 70 hours a week to make $30,000 a year, less, less than that, gross. Not that gross.

• 25:04Speaker 03

I haven't given up on it. I'm still.

• 25:06Caleb Hammer?

  Given up on what?

• 25:07Speaker 03

  I'm still bringing in money.

• 25:08Caleb Hammer?

You are bringing in money. I will give you that.

• 25:10Speaker 03

I still have bills to pay.

• 25:11Caleb Hammer?

But then you blow it all. No, you, your bills are just you fucking destroying all your.

• 25:15Speaker 03

I have rent and things like that. And my phone bill and everything else.

• 25:21Caleb Hammer?

So you spend $4,000 in a month, it was 3,900, but you bring in four or $2,400. Okay. Where's your money go?

• 25:34Speaker 03

Anything, anywhere, food, going out, drinks, friends. I do pay bills, paying off, trying to pay off debt, but that apparently it's not doing even that.

• 25:46Caleb Hammer?

You spend 27% of your income on just going out to eat.

• 25:50Speaker 03

  Sounds about right.

• 25:51Caleb Hammer?

You're okay with that, you accept that?

• 25:53Speaker 03

It's easier, if I'm out, if I don't eat, then it's just gonna make more problems later on, so I'd rather just get food then, than wait till I get home.

• 26:01Caleb Hammer?

Yeah, maybe you can excuse that two times and then you realize that, so make sure you have food before you get into that situation. Or you're not like an actual moron, you have the capability of making choices. Choices.

• 26:16Speaker 03

Yeah, choices are, I'd rather eat and not wait till I get home and then it's easy.

• 26:21Caleb Hammer?

  Before eat, before you.

• 26:24Speaker 03

Well, not, not if I stay at the ranch for a week, then it's just, hey.

• 26:27Caleb Hammer?

You stay at the ranch for a week, pack food.

• 26:30Speaker 03

Yeah, but then I'm out on the truck the entire day, so then it's.

• 26:34Caleb Hammer?

With a cooler, with a thermos.

• 26:37Speaker 03

Grab $10 water burger than it is to.

• 26:40Caleb Hammer?

While you're on the fucking trailer?

• 26:43Speaker 03

On the truck, it's easier to grab water burger, you, you can, in Texas, you can pull a trailer anywhere, it's not that bad.

• 26:49Caleb Hammer?

Okay, so you're going off the ranch to get lunch?

• 26:52Speaker 03

  Yeah.

• 26:52Caleb Hammer?

Then you can go back to the ranch house where your food is, if you packed it like a responsible human. You, listen, if we're in debt, if we're about to fail school and we just go out every night and we're blowing shit, and we're just fucking it all. And who even knows what blowing shit even means in your context, it could be up the nose, it could be. Who even fucking knows? Just seems like an absolute mess.

• 27:15Speaker 03

It's just probably alcohol and going out to eat and everything else, so.

• 27:22Caleb Hammer?

  Uh huh.

• 27:23Speaker 03

  Hey, I'm, I, it's life. It can, it can, it'll, it'll, it'll buff. It's the-

• 27:28Caleb Hammer?

No, no, it only buffs with you choosing to buff. Doesn't buff without you actually doing the buff. You have to be the one buffing. It doesn't, nothing, cars don't just get buffed. You have to buff.

• 27:40Speaker 03

  I'm, I'm trying. They're, they're-

• 27:41Caleb Hammer?

No, you're not. You're spending almost thirty percent on just going out to eat. If you have bad debt, by the way, thirty-four thousand dollars, none of it being student loan debt, it's all bad debt. There's nothing that's even remotely considered good. Thirty-four thousand dollars of bad debt while we're in school, while school is free, while we work seventy hours a week, thirty-four thousand dollars of bad debt is a disaster. Disaster. And then you think you can spend thirty percent of your income on fast fucking food? When you have thirty-four thousand dollars of debt with free school?

• 28:15Caleb Hammer?

  No, you're smiling about it.

• 28:18Speaker 03

If, if I'm taken care of and I get to go home at the end of the day, so-

• 28:22Caleb Hammer?

  Taking care of it.

• 28:24Speaker 03

No, if I'm taken care of, like food and I eat and I make sure I-

• 28:27Caleb Hammer?

You're not. You're going in a deeper hole. You're making sure you're not taken care of very soon. I've seen what it looks like on the other side. Many people that come on the show where I tell them it takes multiple decades to pay off their debt and it's better to go through multiple rounds of bankruptcy for them. Yeah, that's where you are headed. You're in the position where you might actually have the ability to turn it around.

• 28:48Speaker 03

Yeah, that's what we're hoping for. That's what I'm here for, but I need to, I need to snap out of it, I guess, in some sense, shape or form.

• 28:59Caleb Hammer?

  When was your first job?

• 29:00Speaker 03

Uh, when I was fourteen, right here in Austin at Marvel's Lab.

• 29:05Caleb Hammer?

  Okay.

• 29:05Speaker 03

  In the mall.

• 29:07Caleb Hammer?

So you've just been working odd jobs forever?

• 29:10Speaker 03

  Yeah.

• 29:10Caleb Hammer?

There's like the minimum wage jobs forever, basically.

• 29:13Speaker 03

Besides the plants and the other equipment operations.

• 29:16Caleb Hammer?

Why aren't we doing that again then?

• 29:17Speaker 03

Uh, that's when the pots got bad and so I had to step back from that for a little bit.

• 29:21Caleb Hammer?

  Is the pots okay now?

• 29:22Speaker 03

  Yeah.

• 29:22Caleb Hammer?

  So go back, right?

• 29:23Speaker 03

  Yeah.

• 29:24Caleb Hammer?

You have the experience on your resume.

• 29:26Speaker 03

Well, New Braunfels doesn't have that many plants and operations and things.

• 29:30Caleb Hammer?

Place that has things that exist. You move to a small town like a dumb-

• 29:33Speaker 03

Yeah, you're not wrong about that one. It was the quickest, it was the quickest option, though. I moved in with my friend and her mom.

• 29:39Caleb Hammer?

  Place without job opportunities.

• 29:41Speaker 03

I will, I moved in with my friend and her mom and it was an easy get out from Beaumont. Uh, yeah, I still live with them.

• 29:47Caleb Hammer?

Then that's another thing. Your rent must be small. Meaning, the fact that you are still in this debt and spending almost double what you make is even more of ridiculous and unacceptable.

• 29:59Speaker 03

Well, there is opportunities. I was thinking about moving to Florida or Alabama because I got a job, I got corrections facilities for the FDC or I got marina jobs. Uh, Marina will start me out. Uh, Florida Department of Corrections.

• 30:12Caleb Hammer?

Okay, yeah, you could do that.

• 30:14Speaker 03

  So it starts.

• 30:14Caleb Hammer?

I really don't, I just hear, oh, listen, listen, I'm very much on the outside and only, I only have stories from people that have been in prison on this show.

• 30:22Speaker 03

  Mm-hmm.

• 30:22Caleb Hammer?

Again, I think it was a membership video, but, um, I don't hear good things about, you know.

• 30:28Speaker 03

You don't hear good things about a lot of things, though, especially plants or anything.

• 30:33Caleb Hammer?

You in a situation with that, like a lot of like, like sexual.

• 30:37Speaker 03

Oh, yeah, no, that's a given, but also that'll happen if I do FBI or military or anything.

• 30:43Caleb Hammer?

  No, no.

• 30:43Speaker 03

Not saying I'm okay with any of that happening. I'm just saying that.

• 30:46Caleb Hammer?

I think it's less likely to happen in the FBI versus in prison.

• 30:49Speaker 03

If it pays my bills and then you can

• 30:52Caleb Hammer?

  No, no.

• 30:52Speaker 03

  Decide and variate that.

• 30:54Caleb Hammer?

We do not accept harassment or even worse assault if bills are being paid.

• 30:59Speaker 03

Well, harassment in my, in my job for blue collar and everything with plants or anything, that has been like a normal thing.

• 31:07Caleb Hammer?

It is that harassment that is different than what we are talking about, what we are talking about in prison, where there are like actual assaults.

• 31:18Speaker 03

Well, there's also different positions in corrections that you can go to that you can avoid that.

• 31:22Caleb Hammer?

Are you choosing them? What were you offered in Florida that you are considering taking?

• 31:26Speaker 03

I was offered the Department of Corrections that would be in a secured room the entire time, watching cameras, things like that from breakouts.

• 31:32Caleb Hammer?

  Well, I'm okay with that.

• 31:33Speaker 03

  That's starting twenty-two, twenty-three an hour or a deckhand.

• 31:37Caleb Hammer?

And that was offered to you?

• 31:38Speaker 03

Yes, that was offered to me.

• 31:39Caleb Hammer?

  And you denied it?

• 31:40Speaker 03

No, I didn't deny it. I'm just trying to see.

• 31:42Caleb Hammer?

When was it offered to you?

• 31:43Speaker 03

A week ago. I'm trying to see if there's like relocation assistance or something to help me out with me just moving over here. I'd be moving straight back to Florida, straight that way to Florida, not back.

• 31:53Caleb Hammer?

Okay, so what are you choosing? What are you? What's the, what's the question right now? I mean, you're in school. Can you do that?

• 32:00Speaker 03

  Yeah, I can. It's, it's, it's only-

• 32:02Caleb Hammer?

Texas schools, can you be in-

• 32:03Speaker 03

Yeah, no, it, it only, it only, it has to stay at Texas school. It can't go out of state.

• 32:07Caleb Hammer?

But can you do that while you're out of state? You confirm this?

• 32:10Speaker 03

  Yes.

• 32:11Caleb Hammer?

Forty-seven percent in a 2023 report by the Department of Justice Office of the Inspector General, from the forty percent of female correctional officers have reported instances of sexual assault or harassment. Fifty percent. I don't want to give you fifty-fifty odds, and that's, that's even a thing, and you shouldn't have to turn down a job because of a statistic. You know, it should be correct the statistic, not to correct what job you go get.

• 32:37Speaker 03

Yeah, but you're also dealing with the prisoners and everything, so it's more so you're dealing with the criminals that do it outside of there, so then it's a given what you're walking into. That's why you have to have so many forms, and you have to write your will and everything else, just in case anything goes wrong with it.

• 32:52Caleb Hammer?

  Listen, it's your choice.

• 32:53Speaker 03

But with that one, there's that, or there's, I can move to Alabama for a marine hand, but it's just a matter of a deckhand for marinas, like, working on all the yachts and the big boats and everything.

• 33:04Caleb Hammer?

Why are we applying to jobs cross-country instead of just like, near you? Like, what are we trying to do?

• 33:08Speaker 03

My brain's just looking at as a new start, maybe snap out of what I've been doing.

• 33:13Caleb Hammer?

Okay, yeah. Deckhand, but the deckhand isn't even what you were...

• 33:20Caleb Hammer?

That's the career field that we're looking for. So why are we applying to deckhand in Alabama?

• 33:25Speaker 03

It was higher than the corrections, so it's kind of just chasing the higher-

• 33:28Caleb Hammer?

  Income-wise?

• 33:29Speaker 03

Yeah, kind of chasing the money.

• 33:30Caleb Hammer?

Isn't it in a high-cost of living area, though? I mean, if it's on the coast-

• 33:32Speaker 03

  It's on Gulf shores.

• 33:33Caleb Hammer?

There you go. So like, that, like, you could get a higher-paid job in Austin than you're getting paid in New Braunfels, but Austin's gonna be more expensive. It's like, I, okay. Where do you think your finances are, zero to 10, zero being the worst, 10 being the best?

• 33:47Speaker 03

I'm gonna give myself like a four.

• 33:50Speaker 03

  But that's being gracious.

• 33:52Caleb Hammer?

It's because you don't know what numbers are. I don't know yet. We'll find out.

• 33:55Speaker 03

Yeah, no, I was never good at that.

• 33:56Caleb Hammer?

• 35:33Speaker 03

Uh, concert tickets. There is an engagement ring on there. There is a...

• 35:39Caleb Hammer?

What the is the engagement ring? What the are we talking about here? What the are you talking about?

• 35:46Speaker 03

  So...

• 35:46Caleb Hammer?

  Are you engaged?

• 35:47Speaker 03

No. It, it ended up being a failed, never happened engagement with Annette's boyfriend before I moved back here.

• 35:54Caleb Hammer?

  Why were you financing it?

• 35:55Speaker 03

So it was either his credit that he'd have to pay half and then half, or it was my credit that we could do a payment plan and pay it out on time.

• 36:05Caleb Hammer?

  When was this?

• 36:06Speaker 03

  Ah, October of last year?

• 36:09Caleb Hammer?

October, six months ago. You got broke off engagement six months ago?

• 36:13Speaker 03

I got cheated on, so it wasn't me breaking off the engagement, but then I got stuck with the payments for it.

• 36:20Caleb Hammer?

So you got your own eng-

• 36:48Caleb Hammer?

  Engagement ring financed?

• 36:50Speaker 03

  Yeah.

• 36:50Caleb Hammer?

And then you found out he was cheating on you?

• 36:53Speaker 03

  Yeah.

• 36:53Caleb Hammer?

Oh, good. How did you find out?

• 36:54Speaker 03

Uh, I had, uh, he was on a traveling lineman crew and that is like the biggest red flag of them all, I know.

• 37:03Caleb Hammer?

  Well, that's his job, I don't know.

• 37:05Speaker 03

And then I, uh, was at home and his location randomly turned off one day. And I was like, oh, that's a little weird and I normally have it. And his Find My iPhone was still on, so I checked that. And he was out eating dinner with someone and I was like, alright, cool.

• 37:19Caleb Hammer?

With his crew is what I would have assumed.

• 37:22Speaker 03

That's what I was hopefully assuming, but he had a past history of with, with his ex-girlfriends cheating and I-

• 37:28Caleb Hammer?

Are you fucking kidding me? You're getting engaged with someone who has a past history of cheating?

• 37:32Speaker 03

  Yeah, and so I-

• 37:33Caleb Hammer?

I believe people can make mistakes in life and change their life around. I believe that. Listen, this, we, we, we live in the real world, right? Like the fucking internet, they assume if someone did something bad at 18, they're an evil person for the rest of their life. Like, they don't live in real life. We do. I think people can change. But if someone has a repeated history of cheating, throughout every relationship they've been in, maybe that's not who we're choosing to get engaged with. It's not your fault he cheated. But come on, but come on. I mean, that's, uh, the, the, like, we could, let's be real about it as well.

• 38:02Speaker 03

I realized I had his social media login and so I logged into his Snapchat and found out that my best friend from Louisiana-

• 38:10Caleb Hammer?

  No!

• 38:11Speaker 03

was at the top of his Snapchat and her location was on and they were at the same hotel with pictures of them. Yeah.

• 38:19Caleb Hammer?

And you know they were together together?

• 38:21Speaker 03

  Mm-hmm.

• 38:21Caleb Hammer?

  How'd you find that out?

• 38:22Speaker 03

Uh, from the photos that were saved in their chats and so...

• 38:25Caleb Hammer?

  Boobies and booties?

• 38:26Speaker 03

Yep, all, all of it, all you, you can imagine and I ended up three hours away within probably forty-five minutes and I grabbed my...

• 38:36Caleb Hammer?

  You showed up?

• 38:37Speaker 03

Yeah, I, oh, I showed up.

• 38:39Caleb Hammer?

  What happened?

• 38:40Speaker 03

Uh, I was sitting outside the hotel, I had texted him and I was like, "Hey, uh, I want all my sh** back because this is not a thing that's going on anymore" and he sent his buddy out that worked with him with his little girlfriend and was like, "Hey, here's your stuff, yada, yada, yada" and then I was like, "Well, I still want everything else that he has and I want the phone that I paid for and everything else" and, uh, so I was there for about three hours until the hotel manager, until they told the hotel manager to call the police but then blamed it on me and then the hotel manager tried to get me harassment charges for something I never did. And so I got back home at about 2, 3 a.m.

• 39:25Caleb Hammer?

So the charges were never pressed though?

• 39:26Speaker 03

  No.

• 39:27Caleb Hammer?

  And you broke up immediately?

• 39:29Speaker 03

Yes. And that's within the month that I knew you were here.

• 39:31Caleb Hammer?

How long were you guys together?

• 39:32Speaker 03

Uh, a year and a half.

• 39:33Caleb Hammer?

  Okay, that's a quick engagement.

• 39:36Speaker 03

Just a little bit. I think we both...

• 39:37Caleb Hammer?

And he cheated on every axe?

• 39:39Speaker 03

  Yes.

• 39:39Caleb Hammer?

And you knew that? How many axes did he cheat on? How many axes did he cheat on?

• 39:44Speaker 03

  I think three.

• 39:45Caleb Hammer?

  And you...

• 39:52Caleb Hammer?

  Okay.

• 39:57Caleb Hammer?

Okay. Okay. And you still owe him your wedding ring?

• 40:02Speaker 03

  Yes.

• 40:02Caleb Hammer?

Because you financed your own wedding ring?

• 40:04Speaker 03

Yes, I, I still owe, I think like...

• 40:06Caleb Hammer?

So it's concert tickets and your own, and why won't, he should pay for it?

• 40:11Speaker 03

Oh, no, I've tried. He's, he's doing his own little thing and he refuses to, so...

• 40:17Speaker 03

We're looking. I've tried, I've tried being adult and it's just going south because he is also a year younger than me, so that should have been.

• 40:25Caleb Hammer?

Can I call him in the post show?

• 40:26Speaker 03

  Yeah.

• 40:28Caleb Hammer?

I'm gonna call him in the post show. And I'm gonna confront him from my own number, so he won't even see it coming.

• 40:33Speaker 03

  Yeah.

• 40:34Caleb Hammer?

  That'll be fun.

• 40:35Speaker 03

Cause he told me, he told me before I moved because I was, I had a house down there and everything that I was renting and he told me. He told me that he was gonna pay off the engagement ring.

• 40:44Caleb Hammer?

  He said that?

• 40:45Speaker 03

Yes, he told me that he was gonna pay off the engagement ring.

• 40:47Caleb Hammer?

What's your guys' communication since the breakup?

• 40:49Speaker 03

Uh, horrible cuz of him. I've tried and it's just he.

• 40:52Caleb Hammer?

  He avoids?

• 40:53Speaker 03

  Yeah, he avoids everything and.

• 40:55Caleb Hammer?

Well, yeah, listen, honestly, it was dumb for you to take this out.

• 40:59Speaker 03

  Yeah, definitely.

• 40:59Caleb Hammer?

It shouldn't have been you. I mean, that's, okay.

• 41:02Speaker 03

  But then we.

• 41:02Caleb Hammer?

But what is this? But what is this? It's all fucking overdue, lady. You owe one thousand four hundred and fifty-eight thousand thirty-eight cents, but they're all fucking overdue. Why are they overdue? It's cause you go out and spend it all fucking boozing. Oh, you got cheated on, so you have to go get dick down every night? Listen, that's, what are we doing?

• 41:22Speaker 03

It was also avoiding it cuz it was, I wasn't the one supposed to be paying it, so I.

• 41:26Caleb Hammer?

You were, but it's on your credit. You're fucking yourself. You're fucking your future self. That sucks. I'm empathetic to it, but this was a choice you made and this is the learning from the dumb. But don't destroy your credit and ability to get a mortgage or whatever it is you want to do. Do you still have the ring?

• 41:50Speaker 03

  Yeah, it's still in my.

• 41:51Caleb Hammer?

Sell it. Sell it and just pay this off. How much was the ring?

• 41:57Speaker 03

  Nineteen hundred.

• 42:00Caleb Hammer?

Have you looked into selling it?

• 42:02Speaker 03

  Yeah.

• 42:03Caleb Hammer?

  And?

• 42:04Speaker 03

It, it, I, I was looking for a little bit more, but then he also.

• 42:07Caleb Hammer?

  What have people offered?

• 42:08Speaker 03

Uh, six seven hundred on it.

• 42:10Caleb Hammer?

I don't fucking care, just take it. Take it. Take it, that pays off half this debt. You're not paying this on time on purpose?

• 42:16Speaker 03

Yeah, I wasn't paying the ring. The, the other, yeah, the other one that was.

• 42:21Caleb Hammer?

It's a hundred eighty-two dollars a month, it looks like.

• 42:24Speaker 03

  Yes.

• 42:25Caleb Hammer?

And how many payments were we behind? Cause I see three. Well, I see StubHub as well. StubHub isn't the wedding ring. Hey, StubHub isn't the wedding ring. So that is a bull. That is bull. What you did, hey, what you just said was bull. It's not just a wedding ring. It's not just a wedding ring because, ooh, we got cheated on. And yes, that sucks. But the, the concert, you're not paying for the concert. You're not paying for the concert. You're not paying for the concert.

• 42:47Speaker 03

Yeah, and that's a concert that already happened. So that makes it, yeah.

• 42:55Caleb Hammer?

Yes, that's what a firm is.

• 42:56Speaker 03

Yeah, but then there, there's also, uh, his phone that is still on my account.

• 43:02Caleb Hammer?

Oh, don't you fucking dare. Don't you fucking dare. Why would his, why would his phone be on your credit? You let a guy that historically and repeatedly cheats. Have you financed his entire fucking life and responsibilities? And then he sticks it in someone else, let alone your best friend and your surprise that you have to take care of these bills? Come on. Why would you allow that piece of shit to finance his life on your financing?

• 43:34Speaker 03

Yeah, I'm still paying the phone bill since like December of last year.

• 43:40Caleb Hammer?

  Wait, December?

• 43:41Speaker 03

  Yeah.

• 43:42Caleb Hammer?

  Of last year? Twenty-four?

• 43:44Speaker 03

Yeah, twenty-four. I've been paying for the phone bill since then.

• 43:46Caleb Hammer?

Why'd you have it? Cause that was two months.

• 43:48Speaker 03

We were on the same phone plan since June and so we got him a new phone and then.

• 43:53Caleb Hammer?

  Cancel it.

• 43:53Speaker 03

I can't, cause he still owes $200 on it. And I've tried pausing it. I've tried getting rid of it. I've tried selling. I can't sell the phone cause it has an activation lock from AT&T.

• 44:06Speaker 03

I tried transferring the service. I tried telling him. Yeah, it's in my drawer at home, but I can't sell it until he agreed. He already agreed to pay it off. I have proof of him agreeing to pay off everything. He's been avoiding it.

• 44:18Caleb Hammer?

Yeah, but with the proof, you can't take it to them?

• 44:21Speaker 03

  Who? AT&T?

• 44:22Caleb Hammer?

  Yeah.

• 44:23Speaker 03

No, they, unless he signs, unless he signs that he wants to transfer service. Unless he transfers service, then it's, it's, it's pointless on their end.

• 44:35Speaker 03

So that's like an extra like 200 every month with my phone.

• 44:40Speaker 03

  On top.

• 44:47Caleb Hammer?

Are you at least taking a pause? And, and you're dating?

• 44:52Speaker 03

Yeah, no, I've, I've been, I've been, I've been completely separate from everything since then.

• 44:57Caleb Hammer?

  Good.

• 44:58Speaker 03

I'm planning on doing that for the next like year or two.

• 45:01Caleb Hammer?

Well, you don't have to do that, but just separate for a little bit. Give yourself a chance to recover.

• 45:06Speaker 03

  Oh, yeah, no.

• 45:06Caleb Hammer?

Let's take care of it. I just need you to buckle down. I'm not saying like go away for a year. You're allowed to go on dates and stuff. I'm just like, I just like, that's so fresh, getting cheated on, engaged, having the ring still? I just wanted, I want you to take this in like an appropriate timeline that is good and healthy for you.

• 45:24Speaker 03

There's also a, uh, Christmas gift on there that had, yeah.

• 45:29Caleb Hammer?

  What? For him?

• 45:31Speaker 03

  Yep.

• 45:32Caleb Hammer?

What? Was the last Christmas? Why'd you buy him a Christmas gift?

• 45:37Speaker 03

  It was,

• 45:37Caleb Hammer?

Why did you buy him a Christmas?

• 45:38Speaker 03

It was right after Christmas. So we had, we had done, yeah.

• 45:42Caleb Hammer?

  Huh? What?

• 45:43Speaker 03

It was like the last week of December that I found out. So we had already had Christmas, already had family photos.

• 45:48Caleb Hammer?

I thought you said you found out in October.

• 45:50Speaker 03

  No.

• 45:50Caleb Hammer?

  You got engaged in October.

• 45:51Speaker 03

That's when we bought the ring. I never got engaged to. I never got proposed to or anything.

• 45:57Caleb Hammer?

  Okay. So fucking weird.

• 46:00Speaker 03

So we had the ring. We were,

• 46:01Caleb Hammer?

  Oh my gosh!

• 46:03Speaker 03

We were waiting and then it was gonna happen sometime, uh, the past three months and it never did. And, uh, yeah, no, and we had family photos. We had Christmas. We had going to his parents' house and should have taken that hint that his parents were divorced because they both cheated on each other and then

• 46:24Speaker 03

  he went on a

• 46:25Caleb Hammer?

Just go in an open relationship, people. Just do in an open relationship or call it off.

• 46:29Speaker 03

Three hours away and then I found out he was cheating on me.

• 46:32Caleb Hammer?

Just do an open relationship or just call it off. What is wrong?

• 46:37Speaker 03

No one in my generation knows how to do that.

• 46:41Speaker 03

They'd rather take the hard way.

• 46:42Caleb Hammer?

Everyone in your generation is actually like pretty anti-sex. I'm surprised he was even sticking it in something.

• 46:48Speaker 03

Especially her, but that's, that's another story.

• 46:50Caleb Hammer?

Okay, okay. So, these payments are stacking.

• 46:54Speaker 03

  Yeah.

• 46:54Caleb Hammer?

And I'm sure you're getting confused and it's all stupid. I see you also just affirmed, pull up your firm app for me. Pull it up. Hey guys, always ask me, Caleb, what do you invest in? • 48:09Speaker 03

Hey, there's a dollar added on.

• 48:11Caleb Hammer?

  Yeah, went up. Okay, you're...

• 48:16Caleb Hammer?

Yeah, there's the over, over, okay. Yep. Rock the South ticket is pending.

• 48:23Speaker 03

  So that...

• 48:24Caleb Hammer?

  What the [__] is that?

• 48:25Speaker 03

That was his birthday present that I bought him. Uh...

• 48:30Caleb Hammer?

  Good.

• 48:31Speaker 03

Let's see, three, four months, and now I'm just paying them off and I'm using them, but I...

• 48:40Caleb Hammer?

You have auto pay off on so much of this stuff. What the fuck? And StubHub, that's for a concert that's already done. Tell me, please fucking tell me, we're done with concerts?

• 48:51Speaker 03

Yes. No, uh, I have one in two weeks with one of my friends in Palestine again.

• 48:59Caleb Hammer?

No, for fuck's sake. How do they even have concert venues left standing at this point?

• 49:04Speaker 03

They, uh, that was, that was a birthday present, so it's trying to wrote off, but not really, because I'm still paying for all of my things going that way. And then there's Rott the South in June.

• 49:16Caleb Hammer?

Oh, for fuck's sake, what are you doing? You don't give a fuck. You don't give a fuck. Are you just using the fact that sympathetic, sympathetic? I have to fucking start this with, I am sympathetic. The Almost Engaged cheated, so two traumatic life events that I don't wish anyone to go through. Are we using that? You have, I see no other way than you are using that. As a justification, whether or not you acknowledge it, but in the back of your head. To why you're just able to just go and fucking do anything you want without even thinking about it.

• 49:53Speaker 03

Yeah, that, that's kind of where it is right now. And then it's the fact of I'm, I'm just doing.

• 49:58Caleb Hammer?

But guess what? Guess what? Because of those two traumatic things. Where you're using it to just fuck up everything, you're creating a third dramatic event. And that third dramatic event is these bills are gonna catch up. These bills are gonna catch up, maybe even a fourth, where you get kicked out of school or can't pay for it anymore. But the third dramatic event. Is the bills are gonna catch up and you're gonna be forced to go through bankruptcy or consolidation, where you build it all up before you actually change your behavior. And you are just gonna be in a financial slump that you are never going to be get, going to get out of. Because bankruptcy doesn't clean this. Bankruptcy doesn't clean the slate.

• 50:36Caleb Hammer?

We've had people that have gone through bankruptcy on the show. Guess what? They're getting in the same worst financial position, because people go through bankruptcy and then. Without changing the behavior, they're getting all the bad debt again. I am not against consolidation or bankruptcy, but I am against it if you have not changed your behavior. And you going through this, using the justifications of the past that are sad, are never gonna change your behavior. You already have all these concerts planned out! And you're gonna spend money on the gas, on the food, on the travel, all the bullshit. The tickets were always purchased?

• 51:07Speaker 03

Yeah, the tickets are already purchased and paid for.

• 51:09Caleb Hammer?

Okay, but you're gonna spend double if not more, as you've already confessed every time you go to a fucking concert, on the travel, on the lodging, on the food!

• 51:17Speaker 03

Yeah, but then it's written off just a bit.

• 51:21Caleb Hammer?

  Open that!

• 51:26Caleb Hammer?

Oh my gosh, how's your frame rate at like 5 frames per second? Oh, it's because you have low fucking data on. Or you have low power mode on. I'm turning that off so I don't have a seizure. How the fuck do people deal with that?

• 51:40Speaker 03

I didn't even notice anything on it.

• 51:41Caleb Hammer?

Okay, she has Flow Premium. Period. Flow, period, and Pregnancy Tracker. You're paying for that, that's $15 a month. Doesn't the health app do that automatically?

• 51:51Speaker 03

  That's every 6 months and...

• 51:53Caleb Hammer?

Okay, doesn't the health... She has Snapchat Plus. Who the fuck in this world has Snapchat Plus? What the fuck are we doing Snapchat Plus? Disney Plus, Apple Music, and Apple Care. Good with the Apple Care. Apple Music lets you have a student plan, I can stomach it, but come on, the Flow kit, doesn't the Apple Health app do that automatically already?

• 52:13Speaker 03

Well, I've used Flow for like 7 years now, so it's easier just to stick with them.

• 52:18Caleb Hammer?

  Hold on, hold on.

• 52:19Speaker 03

  Oh no.

• 52:20Caleb Hammer?

Hold on. Why the fuck did you have, did you... Wait, no, no, no, you did download Hinge. You went in Hinge Premium.

• 52:28Speaker 03

And then I got that refunded because I accidentally had it. I didn't real... Like, I had done the little free trial and then it kept charging and I was like, oh crap.

• 52:37Caleb Hammer?

And there's Bumble, so we've been on the premium versions of these dating apps since the cheat. And it was right post cheat, you downloaded it immediately because this, that expired January 28th, the Bumble one. So that means you fucking, you know, you found out and you downloaded the next day.

• 52:51Speaker 03

Yeah, I didn't do anything though. I was just kinda like swiping through. I never, I haven't gone on any dates or anything. It was like preferred pure entertainment of, hey, let's see what's out there sort of thing and uh... Just I never went and did any one, so I'll take it as a plus.

• 53:13Caleb Hammer?

I love the fact that we get permission for me to just fuck around and have fun before. And you have just ruined, like, I just don't understand the point of lying. Listen, you are chatting with Brent today.

• 53:28Speaker 03

  Yeah.

• 53:29Caleb Hammer?

  On Hinge.

• 53:30Speaker 03

  Yeah.

• 53:31Caleb Hammer?

This doesn't even matter. I don't even care. But the fact that you said like, I want you to listen.

• 53:36Speaker 03

No, the, the premium is, I never said that I deleted the apps. I said that I had.

• 53:40Caleb Hammer?

No, but here's the thing. You just got cheated on. Just got cheated on a couple of months ago. Went away from basically an engagement. You're still dealing with his finances? You're in no way gonna go in this in a healthy direction. And the fact is, is I don't want you just fucking around constantly.

• 53:58Speaker 03

No, I definitely, my, my brain was like.

• 54:01Caleb Hammer?

No, no, no, I don't want you to fuck around like this. I don't care about that. You can do that as much as you want. I'm talking about you have no focus. You just got cheated on, you're going, you're, you're adding like 50 dudes on Snapchat as we're speaking. Like, this is endless Snap. That's why we have Snapchat Plus. But it's the fact that we're going out and drinking every night. It's the fact that we are failing school. It's the fact that we are going to the beach. I don't care. Listen, if you were doing that stuff and you were going out and trying to go on 50 dates a night, fine. If you, if you gave that up and we're going out, okay. But you are doing all these things endlessly. Endlessly. You have no focus. You are doing a thousand different things. You're never gonna get out of debt. You're never gonna get out of debt.

• 54:38Speaker 03

Yeah, I'm trying to just, it's, it's a ju- it's like jumping jets right now. No hopscotch. Just back and forth between everything else.

• 54:47Speaker 03

Cause of how far everything's gone. So it's just a matter of where can I play this card to that card? It's like the, uh, the saying, uh.

• 54:54Caleb Hammer?

We're gonna go through that more in the post-show. I'm gonna audit your dating profile.

• 54:58Speaker 03

Got it. It's the, the, what is it? The Peter pay Paul, Paul pay something? I don't know. I forgot that one.

• 55:08Caleb Hammer?

  Uh huh.

• 55:11Caleb Hammer?

  Okay.

• 55:15Caleb Hammer?

I just, you have a credit one. You have a fucking credit one. If you have a credit one, it is the worst of the worst. That means we know it's the worst of the fucking worst.

• 55:25Speaker 03

That one was open strictly to go on a trip to see him in college a year and a half ago.

• 55:33Caleb Hammer?

  Wait, where was he?

• 55:35Speaker 03

Uh, he, he lived in, he lived where I was and then he went to college a month after we met.

• 55:42Caleb Hammer?

We were moving beyond this part of the conversation, but it just keeps coming back.

• 55:46Caleb Hammer?

Okay, listen, uh, I might do this period past the past. Past two. Why? Two in a row. Two in a fucking row. Why? Why do you accept that? Why do you accept that as your reality?

• 56:01Speaker 03

  It's, it's, it's.

• 56:02Caleb Hammer?

What is this? Give me an answer. Your past due on all the balls. Why are you allowing this? Past due pays for it. Past due pays for it.

• 56:14Speaker 03

It was, it was, it was itching, itching be, itching be written off or it can be, it can be salvaged at some point in time. At some later date.

• 56:21Caleb Hammer?

But it won't be because you're getting yourself in a worse situation. And to an inescapable situation. The only salvage is bankruptcy. And even that won't fully clear you potentially. And even that you'll just get in the same position again. We've already been through this. No, the kick of the can down the road never works because the can becomes a fucking boulder that you'll never be able to kick. Not breaking your fucking toe.

• 56:45Speaker 03

That one, that, yeah, that one.

• 57:19Caleb Hammer?

Oh my gosh, fucking say words.

• 57:22Speaker 03

Those are hard. Those are very hard.

• 57:24Caleb Hammer?

Yeah, then you're never gonna finish college. Sixty dollar minimum payment norm- normally, of course, what we owe right now is a hundred twenty-nine because we got fees and bullshit and interest. Yeah, listen, it's a two hundred five dollars and sixty-six cents. Got the late fee, we get the interest, we got other fees added, it's just ridiculous. Oh, my gosh. That's certainly not the only late fee you've had this year on this card. I'm not surprised, looking at everything we've had. Listen, I'm not even gonna recommend the Fizz card to you. Not even gonna recommend the Fizz card. That's great for most people. Not good for them.

• 57:55Speaker 03

Yeah, no, that one was supposed to be the credit builder and then I ended up just letting it-

• 57:58Caleb Hammer?

Credit? One was supposed to be the credit builder?

• 58:01Speaker 03

That only, it only had like a three-

• 58:03Caleb Hammer?

The one with fees up the-

• 58:04Speaker 03

It had like a three hundred dollar limit, so my brain was like, hey, I can use it for gas or I can use it for little travels here and there, or food, or things like that.

• 58:15Caleb Hammer?

  Okay.

• 58:18Caleb Hammer?

Okay, why are you even spending money on that card these days?

• 58:22Speaker 03

Gas and food. If my, if my bank account won't cover it.

• 58:25Caleb Hammer?

They say you go to Austin and San Antonio all the time and you just can spend money.

• 58:30Speaker 03

Cowboys, or going out to Mavericks, or little outings, restaurants here and there with friends and everything else.

• 58:39Caleb Hammer?

Here and there, you do every night.

• 58:41Speaker 03

  Just about, yeah.

• 58:43Caleb Hammer?

At least have the people on there pay for it. Fuck's sake.

• 58:49Speaker 03

But then I know people and then it, it turns into, it gets paid for, so it could be worse.

• 58:56Caleb Hammer?

It could be worse. I will never understand this. And how do people even say this? Have you seen this show? Have you heard other people say it could be worse?

• 59:03Speaker 03

  Yeah.

• 59:03Caleb Hammer?

You're fucking broken then? You know my answer. What do I say? What do I say?

• 59:11Speaker 03

You're fucking stupid. That's one of them.

• 59:14Caleb Hammer?

No, no. Yes, that's what I say to you. What do I say when people say it could be worse? I want to see if you have the comprehension to know why that is like legitimately a stupid phrase for someone like you to say that's in a [bleep] position.

• 59:27Speaker 03

  Cause it just keeps adding?

• 59:29Caleb Hammer?

Oh, my gosh. She's not able to retain information. You watch the show with the volume off. You're [bleep] on me. You're wearing AirPods.

• 59:35Speaker 03

Mine is an out of sight, out of mind thing. So as soon as I'm not watching it or like in the past five minutes, I'm gonna forget it.

• 59:42Caleb Hammer?

I don't think you ever have anything in your sight. You're looking in 50 directions at once endlessly. I don't think you comprehend anything. I don't know what's, what are you talking about? Out of sight, out of mind. There's nothing ever in. Listen.

• 59:57Caleb Hammer?

It doesn't matter if it could be worse. It can always be worse. The world could blow up. We could go through a nuclear winter. It can always be worse. That does not mean by any metric that what you were doing and going through is justifiable. It is not. If you ever tell yourself it could be worse, that is allowing you to continue this forever and you will never make any progress. This is bad. This is [bleep] up. This is destroying your future. The, it could be worse? We'll keep you here forever. It could be worse? Yes, it always can be. But if it could be worse forever, that's just what's gonna prevent you from ever doing this,

• 1:00:40Caleb Hammer?

from ever, from ever paying this off.

• 1:00:43Speaker 03

Yeah, that was the mentality with school and it still is and it's the mentality with everything.

• 1:00:49Caleb Hammer?

  Okay.

• 1:00:52Speaker 03

  It's, it's, it's just, it's how it was.

• 1:00:58Speaker 03

  It's, it's, oh, my gosh.

• 1:00:59Caleb Hammer?

Oh, wow. Yeah, just keep going.

• 1:01:03Speaker 03

  Oh, jeez.

• 1:01:08Speaker 03

It's just, it can be paid off a later date. It can be redone. It can be, it can, it, yeah.

• 1:01:16Speaker 03

It can always be worse and then it can be saved from a different standpoint of things and.

• 1:01:32Caleb Hammer?

Is there a reset button? Like, is there a switch? Like, do I need to get Lindsay back there? Like, fucking tweaking and stuff? Like, I don't know what's happening. What do I do to move forward?

• 1:01:44Speaker 03

  In terms of what?

• 1:01:50Speaker 03

Like, from what all the bad things I've been doing? And financial decisions?

• 1:01:59Caleb Hammer?

  What's this?

• 1:02:00Speaker 03

That is my Capital One card. My credit card that I opened, I think, in October.

• 1:02:07Caleb Hammer?

• 1:03:06Caleb Hammer?

  You're past due.

• 1:03:09Caleb Hammer?

  Of course you are.

• 1:03:11Speaker 03

That one paid for my move down here and it paid for some of the NOLA expenses.

• 1:03:18Caleb Hammer?

When'd you move down here again?

• 1:03:19Speaker 03

  February.

• 1:03:20Caleb Hammer?

But why are we past due on it then now? A few months later?

• 1:03:25Speaker 03

I think I added more charges. Yeah, I added more charges to it from my New Orleans trip and my birthday and everything else.

• 1:03:32Caleb Hammer?

It is your birthday, isn't it?

• 1:03:33Speaker 03

  A Monday.

• 1:03:36Caleb Hammer?

  This past or this upcoming?

• 1:03:37Speaker 03

  This past Monday.

• 1:03:38Caleb Hammer?

What the f did you do?

• 1:03:39Speaker 03

  I went to New Orleans.

• 1:03:40Caleb Hammer?

Pull up the app. Pull up your fucking app.

• 1:03:44Caleb Hammer?

What did you call this card?

• 1:03:45Speaker 03

  Capital one.

• 1:03:46Caleb Hammer?

  Okay, capital one.

• 1:03:49Caleb Hammer?

I don't know the balance because you can't pull a statement.

• 1:03:51Speaker 03

And my storage is on there.

• 1:03:52Caleb Hammer?

  Pull up the app!

• 1:03:53Speaker 03

I'm pulling it up. It's up.

• 1:03:57Caleb Hammer?

Okay, you owe $723.86. Oh, it's maxed out. Oh, good. Hmm. Oh, yeah. Credit on here. Oh, 515. Good. This is so ridiculous. Why do you even allow this?

• 1:04:16Caleb Hammer?

Okay, that's not today, but a parking garage.

• 1:04:19Speaker 03

  That was in New Orleans.

• 1:04:20Caleb Hammer?

Right. Interest, like $20. Past due fee.

• 1:04:27Caleb Hammer?

You don't have the ability to put more money on here. Past due fee, past due fee, past due fees ever since you've opened this card. You've opened the card and you've never made a payment. Roof plus? Roof, oh, red roof. Oh, this is in your stupid traveling. Storage? What are you doing in public storage? $252.

• 1:04:44Speaker 03

Uh, I have, I share that with my best friend and her mom because I moved all my stuff into there.

• 1:04:49Caleb Hammer?

Why is it on your card? A card you refuse to pay?

• 1:04:53Speaker 03

It was the easiest thing because I was the one that went to send it up.

• 1:04:56Caleb Hammer?

You allow that to be everything in life. It's the easiest thing for other people to put their expenses on my stuff. And then they don't pay for it. And then you don't pay for it. And then your past due. This is a repeated pattern. His repeated cheating is your repeated stupid with money. Can't, you can't do that. No more putting people's on your cards. You can't manage your worth anything.

• 1:05:19Speaker 03

  Proven true, but yeah.

• 1:05:21Caleb Hammer?

Yeah, it's proven true. Hey, one more time. I need to see, I need to see what your minimum monthly payment is.

• 1:05:31Caleb Hammer?

  Auto pay is off. Great.

• 1:05:36Caleb Hammer?

Uh, fine. Let's select this day. What does it say? Uh... Looks like like 124, but that's probably with all our fees, but we'll put it on. Yeah, sure. Let's put 120. 120. I'm assuming the minimum is around there. Poor... Okay. Yeah, fuckin' use the budget in that. My goodness, I can't even believe it. What am I looking at here? You really can't send statements, can you?

• 1:06:06Speaker 03

That was the only way it would let me pull any of them up. That is my RBFCU credit card that I've had since I was eighteen.

• 1:06:12Caleb Hammer?

Pull it up. Guess we're looking at the phone version for all this stuff.

• 1:06:19Caleb Hammer?

This one's also maxed out. Three dollars left to spend on it. Left to spend. Don't even hear it like that. Uh, our, our, okay, I'll call just credit union.

• 1:06:33Caleb Hammer?

Minimum monthly payment is twenty. Uh, with four hundred ninety-six dollars and twenty-one cents owed on here. I don't know. I don't know how you survive, dude.

• 1:06:47Caleb Hammer?

Provisions, provisions. Going in again to... Late fee! Late fee at the beginning of the month. AT&T, AT&T, Rhino Air, uh, Mavericks, Dance Hall, Slavsky's. Going in and getting some bull, bull, bull, bull. This is fucking, and then late fees up the butthole. This is like, what are we doing? Tell me about this card. What's going on?

• 1:07:08Speaker 03

  That, that's the, that's the, the catch-all. That's the...

• 1:07:11Caleb Hammer?

  The catch-all.

• 1:07:12Speaker 03

  Yeah, that's the, that's the, hey, I-

• 1:07:15Caleb Hammer?

From the look of your hands, you're the catch-all.

• 1:07:17Speaker 03

Apparently so, yeah. Then, yeah. We, we can, we can do that. Yeah, that, that was the, hey, I needed a new phone.

• 1:07:26Caleb Hammer?

The whore of our office. His name is Brandon. He's the catch-all of the STDs, so...

• 1:07:32Speaker 03

Nope, I'm clean from those. I'm great. I'm good. Uh, I go to Mavericks on that card. I go spend the alcohol budgets on those cards and... I don't even know what that Rhino charge is for. That's a new one to my brain.

• 1:07:48Speaker 03

Or the going out to eat after work or things like that. My checking account doesn't have it before bill comes out, then it gets charged to the credit card.

• 1:07:58Speaker 03

For merch at concerts. Extra gas.

• 1:08:02Caleb Hammer?

I don't even know what to do with you. You just, you have a lifestyle that you cannot afford and you're just doing it relentlessly and you already have multiple ones playing up like what the can I do? What the can I do? I can't do a single dick. I can't, I can't do anything.

• 1:08:18Caleb Hammer?

I, I don't know what to do. What can I do with you?

• 1:08:21Speaker 03

I don't even know what to do with myself.

• 1:08:23Caleb Hammer?

Well, you can stop, but I, I just don't think I can get you to. You can get you to. I can't get you to.

• 1:08:30Speaker 03

That was probably, that was, that was about what the Florida trip was. That was kind of like a reset button on everything.

• 1:08:35Caleb Hammer?

Oh, that's not how that's gonna work, dude. It's really not.

• 1:08:38Speaker 03

  That's why I'm still here. I didn't actually go.

• 1:08:40Caleb Hammer?

You got offered it a week ago. Like you're still considering it, right? Or have you chosen no?

• 1:08:44Speaker 03

No, I'm still, I'm still considering it.

• 1:08:47Caleb Hammer?

It's just, it's, all these cards are maxed out. All the cards have late fees. There is not a single sign, inkling of anything good here. Not one. And that bothers me because there's nothing for me to latch on and be like, let's use this skill that we have to go there. If, if, if, if, if, if anything, it's you working hard because you put in a lot of hours. But you're working hard never leads to any results because you put in a lot of hours and don't get paid for it. You put in a lot of hours in school. You don't get achieve the grades you need to maintain your free college. Uh, you don't do anything.

• 1:09:19Speaker 03

It's kind of just working to get by and then.

• 1:09:21Caleb Hammer?

You don't get by. You, you don't. They're maxed out. Pay what you do? Shut the fuck up. You don't pay anything. And no account we've looked at is pay. Shut up. You don't get the badge on your fucking sleeve that says I pay. You don't pay anything. You put money on credit, but you don't pay anything. You're gonna get access to fucking after pay taken from you. And I hope you do.

• 1:09:52Speaker 03

  Yeah.

• 1:09:53Caleb Hammer?

You haven't had retirement? You haven't had retirement? Of course not. You have nothing going for you. You have, you don't have anything going for you. And we'll get you set up with the mu mu app when you're ready to invest. We don't have anything going for you yet.

• 1:10:07Caleb Hammer?

  I don't know. Yeah, what?

• 1:10:12Caleb Hammer?

What can I latch on to? Is there anything? Is there anything I don't know?

• 1:10:15Speaker 03

One of the collections is how it paid off.

• 1:10:17Caleb Hammer?

Collections, but you got into collections?

• 1:10:20Speaker 03

That was, that was from when I was eighteen. And I went to collections for that one.

• 1:10:27Caleb Hammer?

So it's taken four years to pay off half of it?

• 1:10:29Speaker 03

It, well, it was at a collection. It was at a collection and then it was left alone. And then it went to the second collector and then I got offered a settlement for it.

• 1:10:41Caleb Hammer?

Internal collections and then external collections is what I'm assuming.

• 1:10:45Speaker 03

I believe so, because them are at the same collections, just one sent to the other one. Three of my collections, one was a care credit for a vet bill. Uh, for two ferrets I had two years ago. One is the, uh, uh, Best Buy computer math book that I bought when I was eighteen, starting college and then one's a discount tire.

• 1:11:08Caleb Hammer?

Of course it did. Can't do college without an expensive Apple computer. I love Apple. I'm an Apple slut, but it's, you don't need that.

• 1:11:18Caleb Hammer?

  Did I miss Randolph books?

• 1:11:20Speaker 03

That's one of the biggest, the biggest baints here in Austin. There was another one, but I got it taken off of my collections. That was a Smile Direct thing. Yes, that was a Smile Direct thing.

• 1:11:30Caleb Hammer?

What do you mean you got it taken off?

• 1:11:31Speaker 03

So I, they had called me because Smile Direct got bankrupt and so they went to like a third, like weird Indian party sort of thing to handle the rest of their finances and I had called and they were like, hey, is your name so and so? And I was like, yeah, that's correct. And then they asked for my social security number and it was one number off from what it was supposed to be. And so they told me to call identity theft and file a report with them to get it taken off my record and within a week it was off.

• 1:11:58Caleb Hammer?

Okay. On one collections, you have two thousand one hundred. And on other collections, you have one thousand three hundred six. And on other collections, you have two hundred. You said is one of these? Are any of them on payment plans?

• 1:12:12Speaker 03

Uh, yes, the middle one is.

• 1:12:13Caleb Hammer?

  Okay, how much a month?

• 1:12:15Speaker 03

  Uh, one hundred eighteen seventy-five.

• 1:12:18Caleb Hammer?

Yeah, it's very difficult to stack up this many minimum monthly payments while we're in school. Like you've put yourself in a position.

• 1:12:27Speaker 03

If it if my if it stays a physician, then it stays a

• 1:12:31Caleb Hammer?

No, okay, then you've given up. Then you've given up.

• 1:12:34Speaker 03

  Not necessarily.

• 1:12:35Caleb Hammer?

Yes, you are. That phrase is someone who's given up.

• 1:12:37Speaker 03

  Plans and everything else.

• 1:12:38Caleb Hammer?

  No one.

• 1:12:39Speaker 03

  I have the opportunities.

• 1:12:40Caleb Hammer?

No one can help anyone that's given up. If you're an addict and you've given up, you can't help them. If you're a fat and they've given up, you can't help them. If you're an endless spender, bad money, and they've given up, you can't help them. You can't help anyone. If someone's given up to their cancer, you can't help them. There's nothing that can be done. There's nothing that can be done if someone is if they've given up. And that phrase is so I've given up.

• 1:13:10Speaker 03

So I keep working and everything else. It's not necessarily like I've given up.

• 1:13:13Caleb Hammer?

  But you're working.

• 1:13:14Speaker 03

I just don't put any of it towards where I should.

• 1:13:16Caleb Hammer?

You're working to you're working to sustain your lifestyle, not to not to improve your finances. So that's still giving up. That's still giving.

• 1:13:24Speaker 03

My bills are paid. That's not where I am.

• 1:13:26Caleb Hammer?

They're literally not. Are you actually stupid? Like, I'm sorry if that's insulting. Shut the up right now. Hey, shut up. Listen, all my bills are paid. Fuck you. One, two, three, four. Four, four credit accounts that were not paid. That were not paid, that were all past due that we saw, and then all of a sudden, we have three in collections, meaning you've never paid them. So fuck you. You don't pay your bills. You don't get that badge. You don't get that maturity badge. You're a joke. Financially.

• 1:13:56Speaker 03

Well, my rent's paid, so that's paid.

• 1:13:58Caleb Hammer?

You live with a friend and their mom. What's your rent payment?

• 1:14:01Speaker 03

  Four hundred.

• 1:14:03Caleb Hammer?

Anyone can do that. You don't does you there is no pat on the back for that. You don't have a normal fucking rent.

• 1:14:13Speaker 03

Yeah, that's that's kind of why I moved as well, because I couldn't afford the rent over there by myself, so. So I moved into a cheaper place over here. And then it turned into sustaining, and then it turned into I can do whatever I want because I'm not over there now.

• 1:14:29Caleb Hammer?

  Uh. Uh.

• 1:14:35Caleb Hammer?

  Uh, okay, what is this?

• 1:14:38Speaker 03

That is from when I moved from Marble Falls to, uh, Beaumont. The-

• 1:14:44Caleb Hammer?

What do you mean it's from when you moved?

• 1:14:45Speaker 03

Two and a half years ago, I was living with an ex-boyfriend and he was supposed to pay the final, uh, cancellation of the lease whenever I found out he cheated on me.

• 1:14:54Caleb Hammer?

  Another cheat? A separate cheat?

• 1:14:56Speaker 03

  Mm-hmm.

• 1:14:56Caleb Hammer?

How many cheats have you cheat?

• 1:14:58Speaker 03

I've had all three of my relationships and six years cheat on me.

• 1:15:03Caleb Hammer?

  Have you ever cheated?

• 1:15:04Speaker 03

  No.

• 1:15:05Caleb Hammer?

  What the [__] is happening?

• 1:15:06Speaker 03

I apparently don't know how to pick them.

• 1:15:08Caleb Hammer?

  Uh, uh, uh-

• 1:15:09Speaker 03

It's like, it's one of those like butts in the library where you're like, ooh, this looks really good and then-

• 1:15:12Caleb Hammer?

Have they all given the same why? Not that it matters, they shouldn't have, don't get me wrong, but I'm just like curious.

• 1:15:19Speaker 03

I've gotten very different whys. The last one is because she was easy. Uh, the one-

• 1:15:24Caleb Hammer?

  The most recent?

• 1:15:25Speaker 03

Yes, the most recent is because she was easy and he was lonely at his job.

• 1:15:29Caleb Hammer?

  And that's what he said?

• 1:15:30Speaker 03

  Yep.

• 1:15:31Caleb Hammer?

  Okay, the one before that?

• 1:15:32Speaker 03

Uh, the one before that, that was, uh, he was a volunteer firefighter and he ended up [__] around with one of his classmates because they were constantly around each other.

• 1:15:45Caleb Hammer?

  Oh.

• 1:15:45Speaker 03

And they were etces, so then it played into-

• 1:15:48Caleb Hammer?

You gotta pick someone who's nine to five. Okay, and the one before that?

• 1:15:52Speaker 03

That was high school. I, and then he went to the Marines.

• 1:15:57Caleb Hammer?

Well, every time. You can't, you can't, you listen. No more picking people that are always around other people in their job. Like, you just gotta get nine to five. Know where they're living with each other type jobs. Cause that, like, that's three in a row. That's like, where they're living off on their own.

• 1:16:12Speaker 03

They were all at like a year and a half and then I got cheated on, so they haven't like-

• 1:16:15Caleb Hammer?

No, trust me, and, and they shouldn't have, none of it's your fault, but that's, pick a nine to fiver. Or just like someone working at McDonald's, I don't even care. Okay, collections, right? This is collections? This is more collections?

• 1:16:27Speaker 03

  Mm-hmm.

• 1:16:27Caleb Hammer?

  It's in collections?

• 1:16:29Speaker 03

It, it won't show up on my credit Karma though, but it's in collections.

• 1:16:33Caleb Hammer?

Okay, so you own, oh, fifteen hundred payment plan?

• 1:16:35Speaker 03

  No.

• 1:16:37Caleb Hammer?

You made a payment in twenty twenty-four, forty-three dollars and fifty-six cents. So this is your, it's, it's what, your last month of rent or what was it?

• 1:16:44Speaker 03

Uh, it was for the cancellation of the lease.

• 1:16:46Caleb Hammer?

Oh, okay. And he was supposed to pay for it?

• 1:16:49Speaker 03

  Mm-hmm.

• 1:16:50Caleb Hammer?

  But.

• 1:16:50Speaker 03

  Still has yet to.

• 1:16:51Caleb Hammer?

  But.

• 1:16:51Speaker 03

  He currently lives.

• 1:16:53Caleb Hammer?

But. Is it on hit? Is it reflected to him? Is he seeing it as well? Or just you? Why only you?

• 1:16:58Speaker 03

  It's just me.

• 1:16:58Caleb Hammer?

  Why?

• 1:16:59Speaker 03

Cause I did the same thing I did with the last one.

• 1:17:01Caleb Hammer?

Have we learned our fucking lesson?

• 1:17:03Speaker 03

  Yes.

• 1:17:03Caleb Hammer?

Apparently not, because you are literally doing that with your roommate and mom, her mom, right now with the storage.

• 1:17:11Speaker 03

Totally forgot about that as of right now. It's the out of sight, out of mind thing.

• 1:17:20Speaker 00

• 1:17:45Caleb Hammer?

I don't know. I, I, I don't fucking know. Okay, um, what is this? Emergency department visit?

• 1:17:52Speaker 03

  Medical.

• 1:17:52Caleb Hammer?

It's high enough to show up on collections? Wait, total, you're on a payment plan?

• 1:17:57Speaker 03

  Mm-hmm.

• 1:17:58Caleb Hammer?

Oh, for, are you paying it?

• 1:17:59Speaker 03

  Yes.

• 1:18:00Caleb Hammer?

Oh, so you'll pay this. What is this? This is medical, right?

• 1:18:03Speaker 03

Yes, that is when I went to the urgent care.

• 1:18:06Caleb Hammer?

  For the pots?

• 1:18:07Speaker 03

Uh, yes, I had fainted at work.

• 1:18:09Caleb Hammer?

  Don't do that. Okay.

• 1:18:12Speaker 03

I wish I had control over it.

• 1:18:14Caleb Hammer?

Two thousand three hundred, minimum monthly payment. Uh, is the, so the red one's on the collections, okay. So a hundred and ninety dollars and forty-seven cents for this one.

• 1:18:21Speaker 03

  Mm-hmm.

• 1:18:22Caleb Hammer?

  Okay, when was this?

• 1:18:23Speaker 03

  Uh.

• 1:18:24Caleb Hammer?

  October, it looks like.

• 1:18:25Speaker 03

  Yes.

• 1:18:26Caleb Hammer?

Okay, so you got on a payment plan with the hospital?

• 1:18:29Speaker 03

  Yes.

• 1:18:29Caleb Hammer?

Okay, so it's not collections. It's just the bill at the hospital. And that's when you found out you had pots?

• 1:18:37Speaker 03

Uh, that was the start of it. I had, I.

• 1:18:40Caleb Hammer?

Has it gotten better? Cause it's only since October.

• 1:18:42Speaker 03

It, it seems to have gotten better, but then it's, I.

• 1:18:45Caleb Hammer?

And you could work on a ranch behind a car? We're letting you behind the wheel on a road?

• 1:18:52Caleb Hammer?

  It doesn't seem right.

• 1:18:53Speaker 03

It was, it was more of a matter of I kinda just let everything go and that included myself and then it, it just ended up, I made it a lot worse on myself than anything else.

• 1:19:02Caleb Hammer?

How? How'd you let yourself go?

• 1:19:04Speaker 03

Stop drinking water, stop eating, things like that, in the middle of-

• 1:19:07Caleb Hammer?

Yes, you have, everyone will pass out if they don't drink water.

• 1:19:11Speaker 03

But then it ended up with a, a heart murmur from it, so.

• 1:19:14Caleb Hammer?

Oh my gosh. Okay, what is UTMB Health?

• 1:19:17Speaker 03

That is from when I had my heart monitor and all my testing for it.

• 1:19:19Caleb Hammer?

  So this is another thing?

• 1:19:20Speaker 03

Yes, that one is not on the plan, but yes.

• 1:19:21Caleb Hammer?

You only owe 214? You only owe 214?

• 1:19:27Caleb Hammer?

It's not like it's insignificant, but it helps a lot.

• 1:19:31Speaker 03

That one was with insurance and everything else, so it lowered it a lot from what it was.

• 1:19:39Caleb Hammer?

Hey, what is this? You're, you're just sending me screenshots of both?

• 1:19:42Speaker 03

That's what it downloaded whenever I did it, uh...

• 1:19:47Caleb Hammer?

  Yeah, but what is it?

• 1:19:49Speaker 03

I'm trying to, what, oh, that, that is my past three months from my vehicle that I currently own.

• 1:19:58Caleb Hammer?

  Own?

• 1:19:59Speaker 03

Not own, that I, that I owe on.

• 1:20:01Caleb Hammer?

  What's the balance?

• 1:20:03Speaker 03

Very, very under. I owe 25,000 on it.

• 1:20:05Caleb Hammer?

Oh, fuck, sick, what's the car? You own a $25,000 car? You don't even make that much a year! Not that much even in a year after your pay taxes.

• 1:20:11Speaker 03

It is a 2023 Hyundai Tucson.

• 1:20:14Caleb Hammer?

What's your minimum monthly payment? You're not a 2023 car? You think you can get a 2023 car? Phew.

• 1:20:19Speaker 03

  It was a-

• 1:20:19Caleb Hammer?

  Car payment?

• 1:20:20Speaker 03

  616 a month.

• 1:20:22Caleb Hammer?

  Sick, interest rate?

• 1:20:23Speaker 03

  Uh, 6.75.

• 1:20:25Caleb Hammer?

It's not horrible, it's not horrible. Okay, yeah, it's worth 18,000.

• 1:20:30Speaker 03

My car had gotten stolen and then I-

• 1:20:32Caleb Hammer?

So we better go get a car we can afford?

• 1:20:33Speaker 03

I, yeah, I immediately jumped into something that I shouldn't have.

• 1:20:37Caleb Hammer?

Guys, if we have an expensive car, it won't get stolen. I don't-

• 1:20:40Speaker 03

Yeah, no, I think it just went, I went for the tractor and then I was like, ooh, it's pretty and it has all the things that, uh, normal 21-

• 1:20:44Caleb Hammer?

What are you doing? Are you late on this?

• 1:20:47Speaker 03

No, that is currently on the day.

• 1:20:47Caleb Hammer?

Are you deferring payments to the end?

• 1:20:49Speaker 03

No. I did, I, yeah, I have skipped payments before with my bank. So it, it's pushed that loan off a little bit.

• 1:20:57Caleb Hammer?

When did you get this car?

• 1:20:58Speaker 03

  Uh, February of 23.

• 1:21:03Caleb Hammer?

  Your grandpa cosigned?

• 1:21:05Speaker 03

  Yes.

• 1:21:06Caleb Hammer?

Oh, the payment, the car that you're putting payments on the back end, your grandpa's cosigned to it? Your old grandpa?

• 1:21:13Speaker 03

  So he, that, that was-

• 1:21:16Caleb Hammer?

  Grandpa?

• 1:21:17Speaker 03

That was a thing with him is he's taking, he wanted to do that because I was in college. So he said that he would help me with my car.

• 1:21:25Caleb Hammer?

Yeah, but does he know you're borderline with money?

• 1:21:29Speaker 03

  Yes.

• 1:21:32Caleb Hammer?

  How old's he?

• 1:21:33Speaker 03

Uh, I think he's seventy somethings.

• 1:21:37Caleb Hammer?

And you're putting him on the fucking, whoa.

• 1:21:40Speaker 03

He argued with, he, he argued with me about it. I couldn't. He, he-

• 1:21:46Caleb Hammer?

No, yes, of course you could have. You could have gone-

• 1:21:48Speaker 03

He was a full kraut about it and-

• 1:21:50Caleb Hammer?

Dude, you could have fucking did this and he would have fallen over and you could have went and got a car. Like, I, yes, you could have. He would have forgotten the next day. He's seventy something. He's broken.

• 1:22:06Caleb Hammer?

You don't, you did, yes, you could have pushed back. Fucking make him sign a document. He wouldn't have known. Send him, send him a docu-sign and he would have thought that was it.

• 1:22:16Speaker 03

Yeah, he's been helping me with that and my car before that one as well.

• 1:22:22Caleb Hammer?

Grandpa should not be helping you when you are deferring payments to the end. It's disgusting.

• 1:22:29Caleb Hammer?

For fuck's sake, man. How many times have you deferred the payments?

• 1:22:33Speaker 03

Only three in the past two years. It, it's only, it's like that skip a pay thing that they do at my bank and then-

• 1:22:41Caleb Hammer?

In the AC doesn't even work, they're telling me? You have a $25,000 fucking car loan?

• 1:22:47Speaker 03

No, that is, that is, that, that's a completely, that's like an option with that. Because I, with my grandpa, uh, I am under so far that I was looking into, uh, like voluntarily repossessing it to the bank.

• 1:23:01Caleb Hammer?

  It'll hurt him still. His-

• 1:23:02Speaker 03

No, I was gonna, I was gonna assign it strictly over to me and then do that. So he's not on it at all.

• 1:23:10Caleb Hammer?

  Would they let you?

• 1:23:11Speaker 03

  What?

• 1:23:12Caleb Hammer?

Would you be able to refinance it under just you?

• 1:23:15Speaker 03

If it shoots it up, either way, it's getting-

• 1:23:17Caleb Hammer?

I don't think so, not with your credit, not with your debt to income. Good luck.

• 1:23:22Speaker 03

It was, it was the biggest option for it is-

• 1:23:25Caleb Hammer?

Yeah, if you can do that.

• 1:23:26Speaker 03

Sign it strictly over to me, get him off cosigning. He's cosigned for the loan, not the title, and then it would be strictly me signing it strictly over to myself with him going with me to the bank.

• 1:23:37Caleb Hammer?

  Have you?

• 1:23:37Speaker 03

  Yes.

• 1:23:38Caleb Hammer?

  And?

• 1:23:38Speaker 03

He, uh, they said I could, as long as he's there.

• 1:23:41Caleb Hammer?

  As long as he's what?

• 1:23:42Speaker 03

As long as he's present at the bank with me.

• 1:23:44Caleb Hammer?

  Okay. And they'll accept that?

• 1:23:47Speaker 03

  Yes.

• 1:23:47Caleb Hammer?

Your financial history, they will accept that?

• 1:23:49Speaker 03

It, it's gonna, they told me it was gonna shoot it up a lot, but then it was-

• 1:23:53Caleb Hammer?

  Interest?

• 1:23:54Speaker 03

It was, yeah, both, the interest and the monthly payment. I probably like fifteen.

• 1:23:57Caleb Hammer?

  Oh, for fuck's sake.

• 1:23:58Speaker 03

But then it was gonna do-

• 1:23:59Caleb Hammer?

  You'll repossess immediately?

• 1:24:00Speaker 03

  Yes.

• 1:24:01Caleb Hammer?

Yeah, maybe actually do that. That actually might be a fucking thing. What are you gonna do for driving?

• 1:24:06Speaker 03

That, the, my friend has a car that I was looking into, like, doing small monthly payments with him on, and it's a little Volkswagen, and that's where the-

• 1:24:15Caleb Hammer?

What do you mean with him?

• 1:24:16Speaker 03

The, like, just friend to friend sort of thing. He has an extra car that he's not using and-

• 1:24:22Caleb Hammer?

And you'll give him monthly payments?

• 1:24:23Speaker 03

  Yes.

• 1:24:24Caleb Hammer?

  Like a rent?

• 1:24:26Speaker 03

  Yeah.

• 1:24:26Caleb Hammer?

Of it? But you don't own it all, all out?

• 1:24:28Speaker 03

No, no, I'd own it at the end, but it would be like monthly payments.

• 1:24:32Caleb Hammer?

  Monthly payments for how long?

• 1:24:34Speaker 03

It, it's four grand, so it's just depending on how much I paid him a month. But it's just an extra car at this point.

• 1:24:40Caleb Hammer?

Payment plan? Is there gonna be interest?

• 1:24:42Speaker 03

No, it, it's strictly just gonna be cash between us.

• 1:24:44Caleb Hammer?

What a fucking mess. Oh my gosh, is this your checking account?

• 1:24:47Speaker 03

  Yes.

• 1:24:49Caleb Hammer?

You're expecting me to read that?

• 1:24:51Speaker 03

That's what it was, that's what it printed, I don't know.

• 1:24:54Caleb Hammer?

  Thirty, you demonic fuck.

• 1:24:57Speaker 03

That's what, I went to download transactions and statements and everything else, and that's what it gave me.

• 1:25:02Caleb Hammer?

Yeah, but this is, I, we wanted a statement, not a fucking spreadsheet. Okay, you're betting on a hun- a hundred? Who knows where that went?

• 1:25:12Speaker 03

That was rent. If it's a hundred, then it's rent.

• 1:25:15Caleb Hammer?

Water Burger, TP on grind, Pete Terry's, Cowboys, Cowboys, Tree D Oak.

• 1:25:22Speaker 03

  Concerts going out, eating.

• 1:25:24Caleb Hammer?

  Tree D Oak? Isn't, no, it's a distillery.

• 1:25:26Speaker 03

  That's a concert.

• 1:25:28Caleb Hammer?

At the distillery? Oh, maybe it's a different place.

• 1:25:31Speaker 03

  Tridio revival.

• 1:25:33Caleb Hammer?

Okay. August, Dolce, Venwing out more, going in and getting some bull- What are you going and getting at the gas station for a few bucks?

• 1:25:42Speaker 03

I think it's either like a water or snacks or a Red Bull.

• 1:25:46Caleb Hammer?

Buy a bulk, you fucking tit. Sweet Berry, going in and getting a water or Red Bull or snack, Water Burger, Tractor Supply, probably getting a fucking water Red Bull or snack, water Red Bull or snack, KFC, El Charro Mexicano, Apple Bill, Apple Bill, Apple Bill, Apple Bill, Apple Bill, what the are those four Apple things in a row?

• 1:26:07Speaker 03

My, I had gotten my, uh, my debit card stolen, so I had to switch it out and then I did realize it had relapsed, so I had to, they all caught up at once.

• 1:26:15Caleb Hammer?

Relapsed, Water Burger, stop hub. Some would draw, 250 dollars, who even knows where the fuck that went? Frances.

• 1:26:24Speaker 03

  That was.

• 1:26:25Caleb Hammer?

  Gas.

• 1:26:27Caleb Hammer?

  Star Eyebrows?

• 1:26:29Speaker 03

Yes. I got my eyebrows done.

• 1:26:36Caleb Hammer?

It looks like what I do with the little bzz bzz thing. Dude, you just gotta bzz bzz if it's not gonna be anything special. Bzz bzz, it's worth it.

• 1:26:44Speaker 03

If I, if I do the, if I shave or if I wax, then it's just gonna, it's gonna make me break out and I'd rather just pay to have them done.

• 1:26:50Caleb Hammer?

  No, don't shave, bzz bzz.

• 1:26:52Speaker 03

I don't even know what that is.

• 1:26:53Caleb Hammer?

The, the little, little, little machine that goes bzz bzz. Instead of hard shave, bzz bzz.

• 1:26:58Speaker 03

Oh, the, the light over the top?

• 1:27:00Caleb Hammer?

  Yeah.

• 1:27:01Speaker 03

No, even then, it just gets the surface and then it's still there.

• 1:27:04Caleb Hammer?

Oh, look, no one can see it, can you see?

• 1:27:06Speaker 03

  I can.

• 1:27:06Caleb Hammer?

Can you see all my hair up here?

• 1:27:08Speaker 03

  No.

• 1:27:10Caleb Hammer?

  There you go.

• 1:27:11Speaker 03

That's just, it, it's easier, cause I can either just-

• 1:27:14Caleb Hammer?

• 1:28:46Speaker 03

  I, I, I had, I think-

• 1:28:48Caleb Hammer?

Yeah, what do you have? What do you have?

• 1:28:53Speaker 03

I had this as my savings and then I pulled my entire savings out.

• 1:28:58Caleb Hammer?

You had it get f'd up, great. That's great, you're awesome. Stellar. Thriller of a human being. Definitely wife material.

• 1:29:08Speaker 03

Pulled that out and then hasn't been put back at all since then. Besides like, I think $20 is in there right now.

• 1:29:15Caleb Hammer?

  Yep, you're real great.

• 1:29:20Caleb Hammer?

  Real fucking stellar.

• 1:29:31Caleb Hammer?

So why'd no one adopt you, huh?

• 1:29:34Speaker 03

Yeah, it ended up being my family from my dad's side that I had never met. And then I got kicked out at 18.

• 1:29:41Caleb Hammer?

What, huh? They kicked you, why?

• 1:29:44Speaker 03

Cause I didn't want to go into the military like-

• 1:29:46Caleb Hammer?

They needed you to go into the military? What time, what, what time? What age did they adopt you?

• 1:29:50Speaker 03

  16.

• 1:29:53Caleb Hammer?

What the, so you're in the house? Where the, the, the, the, the, the no parent house?

• 1:29:58Speaker 03

  Mm-hmm.

• 1:29:59Caleb Hammer?

  Tell sixteen?

• 1:30:00Speaker 03

  Uh, yeah.

• 1:30:00Caleb Hammer?

  What was that like?

• 1:30:01Speaker 03

  Thirteen to sixteen.

• 1:30:02Caleb Hammer?

Interesting, we might talk about it on the podcast. Uh, okay, what's your rent again?

• 1:30:06Speaker 03

  Four hundred.

• 1:30:07Caleb Hammer?

Anything to go? Anything to go to utilities?

• 1:30:10Speaker 03

Uh, no, that is included in that.

• 1:30:11Caleb Hammer?

  What a joke, including internet?

• 1:30:13Speaker 03

  Mm-hmm.

• 1:30:13Caleb Hammer?

How do groceries work at the house?

• 1:30:15Speaker 03

Uh, I buy all my own.

• 1:30:16Caleb Hammer?

Good, three hundred, use the cookbook again, premium users. You get it when you sign up for annuals mailed directly to you and signed by me. Phone bill?

• 1:30:23Speaker 03

Uh, that with his is one sixty-five.

• 1:30:27Caleb Hammer?

Once that's done, switch to helium.

• 1:30:30Caleb Hammer?

Same towers as T-Mobile, guarantee you it works there because we live in the same area. Car insurance?

• 1:30:35Speaker 03

  Uh, one fifty.

• 1:30:36Caleb Hammer?

Okay, you're gonna assume that's gonna stay somewhere around the same. Hundred for TP phone, that includes bzz or whatever else you gotta do. Anything else in life, medical, healthcare?

• 1:30:44Speaker 03

Uh, nope, I don't have it because if I have it, then I'll use it and then I'll end up with more bills.

• 1:30:49Caleb Hammer?

You don't get prescriptions or something?

• 1:30:50Speaker 03

  Nope, I don't take anything.

• 1:30:56Caleb Hammer?

  Okay.

• 1:30:58Caleb Hammer?

  Okay.

• 1:30:58Speaker 03

It was kind of like a lifestyle change sort of thing.

• 1:31:01Caleb Hammer?

Anything else that needs to be in your budget that I had not put in there? Oh, gas, boom, boom, drive, drive.

• 1:31:05Speaker 03

  Oh, yeah, I.

• 1:31:07Caleb Hammer?

  How much? How much?

• 1:31:10Speaker 03

Probably like four hundred a month.

• 1:31:12Caleb Hammer?

For god's sake, dude, why so much?

• 1:31:14Speaker 03

I drive a lot, concerts, going out.

• 1:31:19Caleb Hammer?

But it's gonna be cut, it's gonna be cut back because you're not gonna be doing concerts and stuff. So let's bring it down to three hundred because your lifestyle is gonna be different. Okay?

• 1:31:28Speaker 03

  Got it.

• 1:31:29Caleb Hammer?

Okay, I don't even believe, listen, I mean, it's so stupid. Even with this, because of the minimum monthly payments that you forced yourself to be in, you're not even paying all the things like collections are not being paid, a medical debt's not being paid. You're still, you need two thousand six hundred twenty-two dollars and ninety-seven cents to survive on a monthly basis. I mean, you're not gonna, you know, I mean, you're, you're not making it, you're underwater by two hundred twenty-two dollars and ninety-seven cents. What a joke, what a joke.

• 1:31:55Speaker 03

Well, then it would, it would be cutting back.

• 1:31:58Caleb Hammer?

  Huh?

• 1:31:58Speaker 03

It would, it would be cutting back on the.

• 1:32:00Caleb Hammer?

I cut you back on everything.

• 1:32:02Speaker 03

No, like anything like going out wise or just anything.

• 1:32:05Caleb Hammer?

  I already did that.

• 1:32:06Speaker 03

Without the hundred. Like completely nothing.

• 1:32:10Caleb Hammer?

  Huh?

• 1:32:11Speaker 03

Like, wasn't the hundred for like anything like extra or things like that?

• 1:32:14Caleb Hammer?

Sure, cut that back and you're still underwater by a hundred twenty-two dollars and eighty-seven cents.

• 1:32:18Speaker 03

Well, I do have that job opening up.

• 1:32:19Caleb Hammer?

And I bet you still need to get tissues, tampons, toothpaste. That's what TP Fund covers.

• 1:32:24Speaker 03

Okay. Well, I do have, I have a job opportunity in San Antonio that, that should be opening up and that's-

• 1:32:30Caleb Hammer?

Should be opening up, which means you don't have it.

• 1:32:31Speaker 03

  It's twenty an hour.

• 1:32:33Caleb Hammer?

What are you, what's your hourly, okay, twenty, how many hours a week though?

• 1:32:36Speaker 03

It's fifty. But then if needed, it can go up to eighty. But then that is covered with overtime pay and everything.

• 1:32:42Caleb Hammer?

  Well, you'll do sixty.

• 1:32:46Caleb Hammer?

Okay, yeah, that helps. That'll, you'll probably be walking away with like four thousand dollars a month. After taxes. Four thousand dollars a month, good. Let's just say you have an extra thousand five hundred hours, no, that- Let's just say based on your lifestyle. And just you, there's an extra thousand two hundred hours a month. Okay? Thousand two hundred dollars a month? What do you mean it might open up though? This is the issue is you don't have it.

• 1:33:11Speaker 03

Well, no, I have the, I have the appointment that's week for all the paperwork and everything.

• 1:33:15Caleb Hammer?

  Oh, because you accepted it?

• 1:33:16Speaker 03

Uh, it, it's, yes, it's an accepted.

• 1:33:18Caleb Hammer?

  Did they offer it?

• 1:33:20Speaker 03

  Yes.

• 1:33:20Caleb Hammer?

  Okay.

• 1:33:21Speaker 03

I have that on the twenty-four.

• 1:33:23Caleb Hammer?

  If that is the case.

• 1:33:27Caleb Hammer?

It takes maybe two and a half years to pay off the debt. And that's okay. Grind, pay it off. And that was me giving you a little wiggle room. Then save up a fully funded emergency fund and then start getting this investing journey going. You can be twenty-five, twenty-six and you can be better than most people, but you've put yourself in such a dumb hole. And the fact is, based on you're literally not paying for things and having no care and basically giving up. I actually do not think you're gonna get there and that's really sad when I say that. I hope you do. I come, I hope you come back on the Financial Audit Follow-Up Channel and I hope you do prove it. I hope you do prove it and we'll follow along. We're in your corner, but it requires you to actually put in the effort, okay? Okay.

• 1:34:03Speaker 03

Requires me to be in that corner.

• 1:34:04Caleb Hammer?

  It requires you, okay?

• 1:34:08Caleb Hammer?

• 1:35:10Caleb Hammer?

  You're talking about?

• 1:35:11Speaker 03

  My Capital One. That-

• 1:35:12Caleb Hammer?

  What?

• 1:35:13Speaker 03

My mother is homeless in Austin, and I was helping her out.

• 1:35:17Caleb Hammer?

Why can't you be honest? Why can't you just be honest? So she's on the streets in this city?

• 1:35:23Speaker 03

She could probably be five minutes away from us.

• 1:35:25Caleb Hammer?

You don't know where she is?

• 1:35:26Speaker 03

  Mm-mm.
