Encounters x333 - Exorcisms, Possessions & Demons

We went all in on the spooky this week with listener encounters that seriously tested our bravery, diving into stories of possession, demons and exorcisms. These experiences had everything that keeps us up at night, like eerie 3:33 a.m. wakeups, haunted mirrors, sleepwalking trances, years long demonic attachments, physical injuries from paranormal attacks and so much more. Plus, rare moments where protective forces intervene. A listener wakes at 3:33 a.m. to a blood-curdling scream, is pulled into a trance and faces a chained, monstrous entity in an antique mirror. One listener performed multiple exorcisms as a teen, and battled demonic forces that caused objects to levitate and people to speak in unknown languages. Strange astral experiences lead one person to unknowingly cross into a dangerous space, after which both she and her sister experience physical and emotional attacks. Another listener details a lifelong attachment from a high-ranking demon that appeared in dreams, sent smaller entities to torment her, and threatened to claim her soul. A terrifying pattern of sleepwalking and astral projection leads one storyteller to open the wrong “door,” inviting something dark that begins targeting both her and her sister. Watch the video version here. Have ghost stories of your own? E-mail them to us at [email protected] New Episodes are released every Thursday and Sunday at 12am PST/3am EST (the witching hour, of course). Corinne and Sabrina hand select a couple of paranormal encounters from our inbox to read in each episode, from demons, to cryptids, to aliens, to creepy kids... the list goes on and on. Hello, be warned, this is a spooky scary episode.

• 2:42Sabrina Deana-Roga?

This is a very spooky scary episode.

• 2:44Corinne Vien?

This is Two Girls One Ghost.

• 2:46Sabrina Deana-Roga?

Two girls, one ghost. And we are your ghostesses, that's Corinne.

• 2:50Corinne Vien?

  Hello.

• 2:50Sabrina Deana-Roga?

I'm Sabrina and this is an encounters episode.

• 2:53Corinne Vien?

  Can you guess our topic?

• 2:55Sabrina Deana-Roga?

We went scary this week. We decided to pick stories.

• 3:03Corinne Vien?

  It's already coming for me.

• 3:04Sabrina Deana-Roga?

Oh my gosh, are you okay? Yeah, we decided to pick stories that were submitted by you, our listeners, our very haunted listeners, that are specifically centered around exorcisms, possessions, and demons.

• 3:18Corinne Vien?

  Yay.

• 3:19Sabrina Deana-Roga?

Woo, why do I like picture that? I like, I literally in my head heard that like really cheesy kids cheering, woo, sound effect.

• 3:29Corinne Vien?

  Like laugh track for Nickelodeon.

• 3:31Sabrina Deana-Roga?

And then it like weirdly skips out and starts going.

• 3:37Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  Yeah, anyway.

• 3:38Corinne Vien?

All right, Sabrina, why don't you start?

• 3:39Sabrina Deana-Roga?

I would love to. Thank you, thank you so, honestly, such an honor to be.

• 3:45Corinne Vien?

It's been your badge, your claim to fame.

• 3:47Sabrina Deana-Roga?

I wear it proudly. And creepily. If you're not scared of me, I'm not doing my job right.

• 3:55Sabrina Deana-Roga?

Oh, I like the subject line of this one, so I'll start with this one. Mirror, mirror on the wall, who's the scariest of them all? This is from our listener, Melissa.

• 4:03Corinne Vien?

  Melissa.

• 4:05Sabrina Deana-Roga?

Hello, Corinne and Sabrina. Pressed off, I love the podcast. You ladies truly are the best ghostesses and balance the scaries with the just the right amount of humor. I'm a relatively new listener and I'm pretty stoked to have a couple hundred episodes to catch up on while I'm working the night shift. Second, before jumping into my story, I should establish that I am a magnet for terrifying, inexplicable, please get an exorcist immediately experiences.

• 4:30Corinne Vien?

  Oh.

• 4:31Sabrina Deana-Roga?

Okay. And it's been this way since I was six years old. Also, this is encounters 333. Which we did not intentionally plan.

• 4:39Corinne Vien?

  But that is creepy.

• 4:40Sabrina Deana-Roga?

It is creepy. Double that number. Six, six, six. So this paranormal sensitivity runs through the women in my family. My mom has premonitions and even has vivid dreams that predict tragic events like my cousin dying in a car accident. My grandmother, her mom, is the same way, although she prefers not to talk about it. And then there's me, blessed slash cursed with that same family gift. You know, just a girl out here trying to survive. Interesting side note about the three of us. We have each had a childhood near death experience. My grandma almost drowned as a teenager while water skiing. My mom almost died in a bad car accident when she was 19. And I almost drowned in a riptide when I was five.

• 5:25Sabrina Deana-Roga?

Connected? I don't know. That's for another email. This is the situation of me as a nine year old when my aunt passed away very suddenly. So after her death, my parents decided to buy her house and all of us moved in. So naturally, the ghosts that lived there were like, mm, yes, fresh meat. Mmm. Mmm, delicious. Bone appetit. Finger looking good. I honestly have wanted to say finger looking good for a really long time. And that was like the perfect time. It's just always been right there, the tip of your tongue, waiting for the moment. Yeah, there's like an entity that's been in my head being like, give me my opportunity. Finger looking good. You're welcome. Okay.

• 6:08Sabrina Deana-Roga?

At first, things were unsettling, but not outright terrifying. But I think I was the most affected. Like, I never felt alone in that house, ever. I always felt like I was being watched and I would constantly look over my shoulder to see if there was someone behind me. And hey, what'd you know, no one ever was. My dog at the time was just a little nine pound guy and he would growl and shake like a leaf at empty doorways. Lights flickered unpredictably, small items would get moved. And then there was the bathroom. See? My aunt had died in the downstairs bathroom, and we all avoided this bathroom for obvious reasons. But then there were some less obvious reasons, too, ones that none of us ever talked about. This bathroom was always freezing cold, no matter the season.

• 6:53Sabrina Deana-Roga?

The walls and floors were weirdly slick, constantly with condensation, even though no one used that bathroom. It was as if the house itself was sweating. And beyond that, there was something very off in there, like a presence and a heaviness of sorts. Still, we could brush this off because, you know, grief is weird, moving is unsettling, and maybe it was just our minds playing tricks on us. Until the first night that we actually slept at the house. I was camping out on my new bedroom floor in a sleeping bag when I woke up so fast and so violently that I was already sitting up straight before I could even tell I was awake. My heart was racing, and I had no idea until I saw the glowing red numbers on my alarm clock, 3:33 a.m. And that is when I heard it, a woman's blood-curdling scream

• 7:38Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  from inside the house.

• 7:40Corinne Vien?

  Oh, my God.

• 7:41Sabrina Deana-Roga?

Specifically, coming from down the hall in the direction of the bathroom where my aunt had died. Cue full-body shutdown. I buried myself in my sleeping bag like a little burrito and prayed to every deity that I had ever imagined. But then came the footsteps, down the hall, closer toward my room. Nope, nope, nope, nope, nope, nope. I panicked. I prayed harder. These footsteps kept coming. And then, in my doorway, appeared my mother, pale as a ghost. "Did you hear that?" she whispered. I nodded, barely breathing. So they both heard the scream.

• 8:14Corinne Vien?

That makes it worse when your mom is scared.

• 8:16Sabrina Deana-Roga?

Yeah, it comes to you. Are you scared?

• 8:18Corinne Vien?

  Can I sleep with you?

• 8:21Sabrina Deana-Roga?

My mom hesitated and was like, eh, it was probably just a fox. Our new house was in a much more rural area, so, you know, we weren't used to living in places like this. It must have been some wild animal, right? We both went back to bed. But truthfully, neither of us slept. Weeks passed and nothing else happened. We settled in. My mom and I never spoke about that scream again. And I just started to convince myself that maybe it was really just some outside wildlife.

• 8:46Sabrina Deana-Roga?

Then came the night when I woke up in my hallway. Don't know how I got there? One moment I was asleep, the next I was conscious, not in my bed, standing barefoot on the cold hardwood floor. The house was silent, too silent. The kind of stillness that feels unnatural, like the air itself was holding its breath. I was confused, disoriented, but before I could process anything, my feet start moving, not by choice, or not by conscious choice. I was being compelled forward by something or someone else. Ew, I'm picturing them not even walking and just kind of like floating, levitating, being picked up and drifting towards this thing. Something else is controlling her body. I was moving as if in a trance. I walked down the hall, through the dining room,

• 9:30Sabrina Deana-Roga?

past the stairs that led down to the basement and the bathroom where my aunt had died, finally into the living room where I stopped, or whatever was controlling me, stopped. To the left was this large picture window that overlooked the yard outside, and to my right was a piano. Above the piano was an antique mirror flanked by two wall sconces that we had inherited from my aunt. That mirror had never been moved, like it was in its original place still, and it had always filled me with a deep, instinctual dread, so I always avoided looking into it. And I remember feeling very strange in that moment, like my conscious mind and my body were disconnected. Yes, I was still inside my body, but I was not in control. And I remember thinking, as if from far away, this is so strange.

• 10:15Sabrina Deana-Roga?

What time is it? Why am I up? Why am I just standing here? And then, as if to answer my questions, my head turned towards the picture window. Corinne and Sabrina, I need to emphasize, only my head turned. My shoulders and feet stayed frozen, unnaturally perpendicular to the direction I was looking. Ew.

• 10:37Sabrina Deana-Roga?

The sky outside was breathtaking. A sunrise bathed in shades of lavender and pink so impossibly vivid it didn't feel real. And then a coaxing whisper slid through my mind. See, it's morning. It's time to be awake. Oh, why is this the creepiest thing ever? I relaxed, because despite it being creepy, there was a reassurance. This, no, this feels like a scene in a Mike Flanagan show. I'm sorry. This is disturbing. But just as I relaxed, something was wrong. There was a different voice, my voice this time, screaming from far away, "To look closer, to look closer. It's wrong, it's wrong, it's wrong."

• 11:20Sabrina Deana-Roga?

And that's when I noticed these colors were too bright. The air was too still. Time felt suspended, stretched, like the world outside the glass was only pretending to be real. And my inner voice came back confidently, saying, "This is fake." Then my body turned, sharp and immediate, to face the piano, to face the camera. I was screaming internally not to look at that mirror, but I had no choice because I was not in control. I looked and I saw myself, pale, scared. But when I really looked, I realized this wasn't me. I was staring at my own face, but I didn't recognize myself. And then my reflection was gone, and something else was there.

• 12:03Sabrina Deana-Roga?

Thin, wiry, stretched over sickly gray skin modeled with age spots, long sparse strands of stringy hair clinging to a mostly bald scalp. I could only see it from the shoulders up, but I could tell that even though it wasn't massive, it was physically incredibly strong. Eyes like black liquid scared at me. And then it lunged. I saw its jaw unhinge from its mouth with an animalistic scream. Ew! And jagged yellow teeth, monstrously sharp teeth, gray vicious saliva stretching and dripping between them. This entity slammed itself towards me, but just as it felt like it was about to reach me,

• 12:43Sabrina Deana-Roga?

it was held back by thick iron chains. It thrashed, angry. I could feel its rage, its hatred, like it wanted to tear me apart and it wanted to be free. Panicking, I finally gained consciousness of my body and was able to control it. I stumbled backwards, I crashed into the piano, and I fell to the floor, and everything went black. I woke up the next morning. I was in my bed, tucked snugly under my comforter. I was like, "Okay, that must have been a dream, a bad dream." But I felt drained, hollowed out and withdrawn. And then I saw a massive bruise on my thigh. And when I went downstairs for breakfast, my mom frowned at me. Do you know who knocked the piano bench over last night?

• 13:26Sabrina Deana-Roga?

I'm now an adult, years removed from that house. I've lived in many places since, but to this day, I refuse to have antique mirrors in my home. And if I ever hear a fox screaming in the night, I will simply pass away. Although we know it wasn't a fox.

• 13:39Corinne Vien?

Oh, my gosh, it's the worst to like, think that you might be dreaming still and then realize.

• 13:44Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  It was real.

• 13:44Corinne Vien?

It is certainly real, whatever you experienced.

• 13:47Sabrina Deana-Roga?

Yeah. Thanks for reading and giving me and the rest of us more paranormally inclined a space to share our trauma. Stay spooky but not possessed, Melissa. P.S. That experience with the mirror haunted my adolescence and I never told anyone well until I was in high school.

• 14:01Corinne Vien?

  Wow.

• 14:02Sabrina Deana-Roga?

While I was still a child, I dealt with night terrors following the incident. And I would imagine a sphere of white or golden light cascading over our house, and angels wielding massive golden swords protecting us. This was just an instinctual practice, which is wild that that's instinct, but it's something that when you are in this world, like, people teach you. Now that I've dabbled in more witchy and metaphysical things, I've learned that this is a ritual protection of magic and is practiced by witches and meditation experts. Like, wow, the fact that I knew, so cool. Anyway, from Melissa.

• 14:35Corinne Vien?

Dang. I mean, this is terrifying. The picture of that entity, the being whispered like, "See, it's morning out, time to wake up." And just like, I literally am picturing haunting of Hill House, where like, they do in spirit form, kind of like glide through the house. And just the neck being, oh, just everything, imagery is horrifying.

• 14:57Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  Horrifying.

• 14:58Corinne Vien?

And to know that this is just a small piece of the terrible things, paranormally, that she has experienced throughout her life.

• 15:05Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  It's horrifying.

• 15:06Corinne Vien?

  It is horrifying.

• 15:07Sabrina Deana-Roga?

And like, what the heck is happening in this house? Because I agree, like, when you first move into someone's house, especially like, the history of the aunt having passed away in the home. It's in a rural area, you don't really know, it's so new. And especially if they're keeping like, a lot of the aunt's like belongings, like, it doesn't feel like your home at first.

• 15:24Corinne Vien?

  Yeah.

• 15:25Sabrina Deana-Roga?

That you would be like, oh, this is just us getting used to it.

• 15:28Corinne Vien?

  Right.

• 15:31Sabrina Deana-Roga?

But it also makes me wonder if the aunt was experiencing a lot of hauntings.

• 15:34Corinne Vien?

Yeah. Ooh, I've told, this is so creepy.

• 15:37Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  You sick, sick spirits.

• 15:39Corinne Vien?

  It's not gonna get better.

• 15:41Sabrina Deana-Roga?

Yeah, no, there's gonna be very little reprieve, if any. I don't know your stories, but we'll say.

• 15:45Corinne Vien?

I don't think they're as bad as that.

• 15:50Sabrina Deana-Roga?

• 17:09Corinne Vien?

This one's called, "I was a teenage exorcist and I'm still a medium."

• 17:12Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  Wait, that's cool.

• 17:13Corinne Vien?

  Yeah.

• 17:14Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  Okay.

• 17:14Corinne Vien?

Hello, my name is T. They/them. I'm a new listener and I found you through Heart Starts Pounding Podcast.

• 17:20Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  Shout out to Caitlin.

• 17:21Corinne Vien?

Your episode in Salem. I'm an Episcopalian medium and I was a Catholic lay exorcist in high school.

• 17:28Sabrina Deana-Roga?

What does that mean? Like, why am I thinking that's, um, you know, when you go to church and you're like going through communion stuff and you volunteer to be the little assistant?

• 17:38Corinne Vien?

  Palm bear.

• 17:39Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  Palm bears, yeah.

• 17:40Corinne Vien?

  Palm bears?

• 17:41Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  Whatever.

• 17:42Corinne Vien?

  Who knows?

• 17:42Sabrina Deana-Roga?

It's like a volunteer exorcism for your high school church program?

• 17:47Corinne Vien?

  Right.

• 17:47Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  That wasn't English?

• 17:48Corinne Vien?

That was not a position offered at my church.

• 17:51Sabrina Deana-Roga?

No, me neither. Did you do the one, like, one of the ones that involved being at Mass?

• 17:56Corinne Vien?

I think I had to before my first communion.

• 17:59Sabrina Deana-Roga?

Before first communion? They put you to work when you were like five? Yeah.

• 18:05Corinne Vien?

Damn. I don't have memories from that. I don't really know.

• 18:07Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  I don't either.

• 18:08Corinne Vien?

  What I did.

• 18:08Sabrina Deana-Roga?

I remember an image of the outfit sitting on my stairs in like the house I grew up in. But that's all of the memory.

• 18:18Corinne Vien?

Oh, yeah. My position for like before confirmation, because you had to do like a year worth of contributing, was on Sunday nights at like six P M. They would have a meeting, the priest and like all the people involved at the church. And they would talk about like what's going on. And I would go for fifteen minutes and let them know what was going on in our confirmation class. I was like, people are still religious. Thanks.

• 18:44Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  Yay.

• 18:44Corinne Vien?

Bye. And that was it. I never, I didn't go to church.

• 18:48Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  Wow.

• 18:48Corinne Vien?

Anyway, if we had known, we could have done exorcisms. Maybe we would have.

• 18:52Sabrina Deana-Roga?

I don't know if I would have, but we're about to find out.

• 18:54Corinne Vien?

  We're gonna find out.

• 18:55Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  We'll live vicariously through tea.

• 18:56Corinne Vien?

Okay, so Episcopalian, but was Catholic in high school. My parents were a part of a super weird new wave Catholic religious movement called charismatic prayer or charismatic renewal. And the concept was that God empowered all of his faithful with the power to cleanse the world from evil sin and haunting. This sounds like a cult. Since I was a kid.

• 19:18Sabrina Deana-Roga?

Was he doing spanking or? Just kind of like winking, but I can't make him actually wink.

• 19:25Corinne Vien?

Since I was a kid, my family seemed followed by curses. My birth mom, who I don't speak to now, and that's a whole other thing, was a very negative force who constantly seemed to be followed. She would be getting possessed around once a month, like her eyes would turn black. Her hair would just float. She would start hissing and growling until someone from our group would purge her of the evil. And then she'd go back to normal. Not great, but like at least she wasn't demonic.

• 19:54Sabrina Deana-Roga?

What else is this? That's crazy.

• 19:57Corinne Vien?

I would frequently keep watch over her because out of the corner of my eye, I swear I would always see claws or this like demonic gargoyle-like creature on her shoulders.

• 20:06Sabrina Deana-Roga?

Oh, my God, I'm so sorry.

• 20:08Corinne Vien?

Every home I lived in growing up had the same problems. Our family photos, posters, artwork would fly off the wall of the staircase. Case or the living room all at once. Damn, what in the paranormal activity?

• 20:18Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  This is wild.

• 20:20Corinne Vien?

And only the family photos would be shattered. We ended up needing

• 20:23Sabrina Deana-Roga?

That reminds me of the Hinsdale haunting. I'm pretty sure like the entity, there was like a knife in a picture of like the family.

• 20:32Corinne Vien?

Very creepy. We ended up needing plastic in our frames instead of glass. If you left half empty cups, they would always spill. Sometimes they would slide totally off the counter and onto the floor. I would see pioneer men and women, strange half men, half goat demonic figures.

• 20:49Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  Oh my goodness.

• 20:50Corinne Vien?

And these things were like as tall as the ceiling. I also saw a weeping woman with stringy hair. She'd like literally looked like she's from the grudge or the ring. And black eyed children appearing randomly at the ends of the hallways.

• 21:01Sabrina Deana-Roga?

But she had no choice but to become an exorcist in high school.

• 21:05Corinne Vien?

What is happening? I'd see them in the corner of my bedroom, in the backyard at night. And like I said, it was every house, every house had these problems. I had to cover my mirrors at night so that I wouldn't see all of these weird entities in my room. And I'm a medium, so I did see them in their full glory. And my family was always fighting. We were getting sick, having horrible nightmares. And to be honest, I have complex PTSD from my parents raising me. But I'm sure a lot of that definitely fed from the energy of the homes.

• 21:34Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  Yeah.

• 21:34Corinne Vien?

This level of activity actually stopped once my parents got a divorce. And they completely stopped talking when I was 18 years old. Once I got to high school though, I started getting really good calling upon Jesus, Mary, and God to take away the demons and the ghosts, at least for the night. So I was asked to join a prayer group that my parents were in. I ended up assisting my dad and our 25 year old tenant at the time, who was also in the group, in purging haunted houses and possessed people of demonic and poltergeist activity.

• 22:05Sabrina Deana-Roga?

I mean, it's kind of fun.

• 22:06Corinne Vien?

And I had to exorcise my mom a few times. And the only way to describe what an exorcism feels like is it's like hot fire from God runs through my body as I pray. And I feel myself pulling on darkness. I see the darkness pull out of a person and this darkness is often hissing. Sometimes I even see claws detaching from a person and I'll know that the Exorcism is done when I see a person filled with light again and they start to look human.

• 22:35Sabrina Deana-Roga?

The amount of power and like healing energy that T has.

• 22:39Corinne Vien?

  Yeah.

• 22:40Sabrina Deana-Roga?

It's also like sad because it's like, I feel like this is a parallel specifically to the like CPTSD that T has where it's like, you almost had to grow up so much earlier in life and take care of the other people in your life. And it's being reflected in a literal way where T at a young age is like coming to the aid of so many other people.

• 23:01Corinne Vien?

Yeah, and it's like not even taking care of someone in a normal sense.

• 23:05Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  No.

• 23:06Corinne Vien?

It is literally fighting demonic entities while also getting no moments of reprieve because your own home, your bedroom, your backyard, everywhere.

• 23:16Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  Scary.

• 23:16Corinne Vien?

  There's other things.

• 23:18Sabrina Deana-Roga?

I hope you have really fun like hobbies that fill your cup.

• 23:22Corinne Vien?

Yeah, like I don't even know what to suggest.

• 23:24Sabrina Deana-Roga?

Why did I, my brain went to stickering.

• 23:27Corinne Vien?

Like making them or just putting them places?

• 23:29Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  Putting them.

• 23:31Corinne Vien?

  We'll send you some stickers.

• 23:35Corinne Vien?

The worst exorcism I ever did was on my own and this was with a 25 year old tenant who we will call L. We were supposed to be visiting a retirement home to sing worship music and pray with the tenants. But there was one person that L had been visiting for a while and my heart sank when I entered their room. Her pupils filled her irises, her hair stuck out like static and she would speak in this thick strange language, French, according to her nurses. The nurses said she was from San Diego, California, and she had never spoken French before, nor did she know anyone that was speaking French. So how she was saying it, we did not know.

• 24:10Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  Je ne sais quoi.

• 24:12Corinne Vien?

  Je ne sais quoi.

• 24:13Sabrina Deana-Roga?

Vous voulez vous coucher avec moi?

• 24:18Corinne Vien?

  C'est ça.

• 24:19Sabrina Deana-Roga?

She's just watching a lot of Moulin Rouge.

• 24:21Corinne Vien?

Elle and I wanted to help her, so we decided to pray. As we prayed, she started chanting louder and louder. Her face started to contort into the snarl and the furniture and small items in her room started to levitate.

• 24:36Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  What the actual?

• 24:38Corinne Vien?

  I know. I don't know why I said that this wasn't scary.

• 24:42Sabrina Deana-Roga?

I think it's a combination of like feeling sore from my workout last night and being hungry right now. But I feel so weak.

• 24:50Corinne Vien?

Yeah, actually, I moments before this was cut out of the episode, but I texted Brian to be quiet because I thought he was on a work call right out here. And I was like, can you turn that work call down? And he goes, that was your delivery driver with your lunch. So our lunch is here with him talking.

• 25:04Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  Okay, well.

• 25:05Corinne Vien?

So at least you'll be refueled soon.

• 25:08Sabrina Deana-Roga?

Soon, if something else doesn't take over me because I am weak right now.

• 25:12Corinne Vien?

Oh, man. The air got so thick, it felt like I could barely breathe, but I kept praying. I felt myself levitating and then I got shoved a foot back. But I didn't stop because I saw the darkness pulling away from her body. Light and energy flooding in the room. And in that moment, everything that had been levitated just dunked back down. The woman fell back and we completed the exorcism.

• 25:36Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  Holy.

• 25:38Corinne Vien?

A week later, surrounded by her family, she passed away peacefully. That exorcism made me vow that I was never going to do one again. And I switched to being a witch and a druid for a while. And then eventually I converted to an Episcopalian last year because it allows me the closeness to God. But I'm also allowed to read tarot, sage, do medium and divination work, comfort spirits who come to me and pray to God all at once. My future husband is a medium as well, and together we are a very powerful couple.

• 26:07Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  That is awesome.

• 26:09Corinne Vien?

Thank you for reading this kind of insane story. I have so many and I may email them later.

• 26:16Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  Please do.

• 26:17Corinne Vien?

  From T.

• 26:18Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  T.

• 26:18Corinne Vien?

  They them.

• 26:19Sabrina Deana-Roga?

It's wild because like sometimes when we read some of these stories, I'm like, wow. These are perfect examples of like, you really don't know what people are doing in their homes. Like the fact that that's just existing, then that's just happening and we don't get to experience it. But T is and has experienced that is like, just blows my mind. Like someone, somewhere in the world right now, like T is dealing with something like that.

• 26:42Corinne Vien?

Right, like an exorcism could be happening at this very moment.

• 26:45Sabrina Deana-Roga?

Very moment. If we lived in an apartment building, I do, but we, right now in this moment, like literally someone in the room right next to me could be having an exorcism performed. And we wouldn't know.

• 26:55Corinne Vien?

No, it does kind of make you wonder though, about, it's like when they get expelled, where do they go? Just into the next person and then another exorcism? Does it never end?

• 27:04Sabrina Deana-Roga?

I mean, energy can't be destroyed nor created.

• 27:07Corinne Vien?

  No, and that's science.

• 27:09Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  And therefore demons are real.

• 27:11Corinne Vien?

Brian texted me and said that the guy was telling him that I have no fries because the restaurant put them on just a bare plastic plate. And someone cut him off and he jammed on the brakes and they went flying onto the ground.

• 27:25Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  He stole our fries.

• 27:26Corinne Vien?

  He ate the fries.

• 27:27Sabrina Deana-Roga?

For sure. I feel like we have a demon on our hands right now.

• 27:31Corinne Vien?

Our delivery driver ate our fries.

• 27:32Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  And that's pretty evil.

• 27:34Corinne Vien?

They don't just hand you a bare plastic plate and say, here you go.

• 27:37Sabrina Deana-Roga?

And if they did, you would say, hey, can you please put this in a container?

• 27:43Sabrina Deana-Roga?

Well, you know what? Enjoy your fries. Okay. This is, hey, another demonic story. It is from our listener, Amy. And that's a fake name, but it is called the demon with yellow eyes tried to kill me. Hope you guys are doing well and taking good care of yourselves. I absolutely love your podcast and think you guys are truly doing such amazing work, enlightening everyone, but also captivating everyone with your merit, with your amazing storytelling skills, like, you know, fumbling over our words. Yeah, thank you. My name, if you read this on the podcast, is Amy. I live in Cape Town, South Africa, and I thought I would share my paranormal experience with you. As a note, I am a Christian, a child of God, but not the kind that judges others for their beliefs.

• 28:26Sabrina Deana-Roga?

I was taught to respect others, but please do know that I do pray that no demons or anything like that ever harms you, your families, or any one of your fans and listeners. Thank you.

• 28:37Corinne Vien?

  That's very nice.

• 28:38Sabrina Deana-Roga?

Now, on to my experience. In the early 2000s, we moved into a new house. I was about five or six years old. And I remember immediately feeling like something was off. And that remained, like always, there was something that just felt off. Of course, I was too young to realize that there was darkness that dwelled in our walls. I remember there was always something watching us. Like, it was this incredibly dark and evil presence. But my parents could never feel it. Only my sister and I. And my sister's five years older than I, so she was probably 10 or 11 at this point. It got to the point where I literally couldn't go to the bathroom, take a shower, take a bath, or even go to sleep without one of my parents near me. And this went on for years. When I was about 10 or 11, that is when I started to see things.

• 29:22Sabrina Deana-Roga?

My sister and I shared a room, and I could always see these dark shadows that would move over my sister while she was sleeping. And the thing with yellow eyes? Yeah, that would sit by our closet and just stare at us and watch us.

• 29:34Corinne Vien?

Hell, no. That is so terrifying, but at the same time, I'm so glad they had their sister.

• 29:40Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  I know.

• 29:40Corinne Vien?

It's like the two of them together.

• 29:41Sabrina Deana-Roga?

I know. But night after night, this thing would try to creep closer to us. And I don't know if this has anything to do with the spirit or demon, but I did start sleep talking and sleepwalking, to the point where I would unlock our security gate and walk down the street while sleepwalking.

• 29:59Corinne Vien?

  Oh, that's so scary.

• 30:01Sabrina Deana-Roga?

I kind of like picked a theme of sleepwalking here, because the first one had that too. My parents always luckily got me before I wandered too far, but it's still so creepy. Yeah, going outside, going through the security, being in the road.

• 30:13Corinne Vien?

  I know.

• 30:14Sabrina Deana-Roga?

And my sister said that every time I would sleepwalk, I would like dart up out of bed. I would stare at her, mumble something odd, and then either go outside or climb back into bed and fall asleep.

• 30:25Corinne Vien?

Oh, oh, this is like, I want her to have the little like chime thing on the outside of her doors so her parents can be alerted.

• 30:32Sabrina Deana-Roga?

Or does the bells on her ankles?

• 30:34Corinne Vien?

Right. Although she seems so high functioning that she probably would have removed the bells.

• 30:38Sabrina Deana-Roga?

I know, that's true. Is it even her doing this? Okay, so eventually, my sister and I had to tell our parents how scared we were. And my dad called over one of his good friends. I'll call him John. But John was a pastor that had experience with exorcisms and spirit cleanings. So he had a history. He also used to go to prisons and would help lost inmates find their way back to God. So John came over and blessed the house. And for about a year, all seemed well and good. Until our grandparents moved in the house and I started to feel it again. So my sister and I were watching The Messengers, which came out in 2007, one afternoon while everyone was out. And the TV room had a weird layout because we had to move everything to accommodate for our grandparents moving in.

• 31:20Sabrina Deana-Roga?

So basically, the way we were sitting and watching TV was our backs were facing our grandparents' room. The room had double doors with glass in them, so you could see in and out. My grandparents had put some tiny curtains up, so you couldn't see into their room. But here's where the activity started. As we're watching this horror movie, I could feel something watching us. Eventually, I turned to look at the doors behind us, just in time to see the curtains move, as if someone was watching us, and quickly closed the curtains. Freaked out, but remaining calm, I mentioned it to my sister. She turned to look as well, and it happened again. Luckily, five minutes after that, our parents returned home, and all was well again for a moment, and life went on. Then my grandfather died, and I caught my grandmother talking to his ghost in the living room.

• 32:03Sabrina Deana-Roga?

And shortly after that, my grandmother passed away, literally from a broken heart.

• 32:09Sabrina Deana-Roga?

I started hearing someone call my name, just to find no one else was in the house but me. My sister and I got our own rooms, and I no longer had that dark feeling in my new bedroom. But the darkness continued in hers, which I imagine she kept their original room, so it's the room. One weekend, my sister went away with her friends, and I thought everything was fine, until I could literally feel its anger. Like, whatever was in the house was so angry, my sister left. That night, I had sleep paralysis for the first time, and I was about 13 or 14 years old at this time. And it is the worst thing I have ever experienced. My eyes were wide open, I could not move, but I just watched as this yellow-eyed man entered my room,

• 32:49Sabrina Deana-Roga?

walked straight through my closed door, and I watched as my school books started flying everywhere, but I couldn't make a single sound. My SpongeBob poster that was behind my door got ripped and looked as if three sharp fingernails had been dragged through it.

• 33:07Sabrina Deana-Roga?

Next thing I know, this entity turned its attention to me. I felt it on top of me, choking me. I could not breathe. And the next thing I know, my nose started bleeding and I was being choked while drowning on my own blood because it was running down my throat.

• 33:22Corinne Vien?

  Holy crap.

• 33:24Sabrina Deana-Roga?

Suddenly, in my head, I start shouting, she was saying it in Afrikaans, but it meant, "Appear before the feet of God. I am the child of the Lord and you are not welcome here." Within an instant, I see this light grab the yellow-eyed entity thing by the throat, shoot it up into the air, and they both disappeared.

• 33:45Corinne Vien?

What in the world? This is like a superhero battle.

• 33:48Sabrina Deana-Roga?

Right. The moment that weight came off of me, I screamed as loud as I could and my parents came barging in just to find me coughing while lying in a massive pool of my own blood. My room was a mess because this entity had scratched the posters and thrown books around. My dad is looking at the mess and is like, "What the hell just happened?" Luckily, I was fine. I told my parents everything that had happened and my dad continuously started blessing the house again and again and again, and that thing never returned. My dad has now passed, but I still live in that house with my mom. And whenever anything starts to feel off, or I feel like something's watching me, I just repeat that same phrase. "Appear before the feet of God. I am a child of the Lord and you are not welcome here." I actually used that same phrase last night. And within an instant, that darkness always lifts.

• 34:33Sabrina Deana-Roga?

Yeah, this was a pretty traumatic experience for me. I hope you guys enjoyed my story. Have a blessed day, year, and lifetime. Much love and respect from Amy.

• 34:42Corinne Vien?

I mean, kind of a horrible thing to experience, but also super cool to witness those final moments.

• 34:51Sabrina Deana-Roga?

But literally just like power of that entity grabbing the yellow demon.

• 34:56Corinne Vien?

  And ripping them up.

• 34:58Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  Yeah.

• 34:58Corinne Vien?

Makes me feel like they had a backstory.

• 35:00Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  Oh.

• 35:01Corinne Vien?

Those two knew each other. There was some serious beef.

• 35:03Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  I started watching.

• 35:04Corinne Vien?

  They were siblings.

• 35:05Sabrina Deana-Roga?

A while back, I started watching Good Omens. Is it Charlie Sheen? Michael Sheen? Who's the not problematic one?

• 35:11Corinne Vien?

  Michael?

• 35:12Sabrina Deana-Roga?

Michael Sheen. So I think it's Michael Sheen.

• 35:14Corinne Vien?

  Who's the not problematic one?

• 35:17Corinne Vien?

  Definitely not Charlie.

• 35:18Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  Yeah, I was like, I.

• 35:19Corinne Vien?

But, uh, let's have your reputation.

• 35:22Sabrina Deana-Roga?

But it's really good and it's like a devil and angel, like, kinda comedy. But they like have such a background between each other and then they start to like help each other out.

• 35:34Corinne Vien?

  Oh.

• 35:34Sabrina Deana-Roga?

I mean, I didn't wa- I didn't finish it. I think I watched like the first season, but I liked the idea of it and it makes me think.

• 35:39Corinne Vien?

Cause this kinda reminded me of like Thor and Loki.

• 35:41Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  Right.

• 35:42Corinne Vien?

  Sort of vibe.

• 35:43Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  Yeah, like get back here.

• 35:44Corinne Vien?

You are in such deep shit now that I found you.

• 35:46Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  Yeah, right.

• 35:47Corinne Vien?

  We're going home.

• 35:48Sabrina Deana-Roga?

Yeah, yeah. But I'm glad that you were able to like conjure this protective spirit.

• 35:53Corinne Vien?

  Yeah.

• 35:55Sabrina Deana-Roga?

To say, hey, demon, it's not, not today.

• 35:59Corinne Vien?

  Not today, Satan. Not today.

• 36:01Sabrina Deana-Roga?

Not today, not tomorrow, not yesterday, not ever.

• 36:07Corinne Vien?

Okay, I have a story called, And You Didn't Think To Tell Me?

• 36:13Corinne Vien?

Hello, spooky ladies. I absolutely love the podcast and I'm glad I finally found a group of people who love all things spooky, paranormal, occult, macabre, et cetera.

• 36:20Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  Yes.

• 36:21Corinne Vien?

  I have been weird.

• 36:23Sabrina Deana-Roga?

Since the day I was born.

• 36:25Corinne Vien?

Basically, and spooky again all my life. I'd be reading Alvin Schwartz's scary stories, goosebumps, and eventually graduating to the Fear Street saga. Unsolved mysteries was my jam, especially the ghost segments, and I loved to have my mom retell the stories of her Ouija board experience that led to finding a mysterious grave at summer camp.

• 36:46Sabrina Deana-Roga?

What? Well, can you retell that to us?

• 36:49Corinne Vien?

  Yeah, we wanna know.

• 36:50Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  Yeah.

• 36:51Corinne Vien?

And ones about my great grandma reading tarot cards and she once held a seance in her childhood village in Ukraine where plates flew off the shelves. You come from a spooky lineage.

• 37:02Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  Yeah, that's amazing.

• 37:03Corinne Vien?

Oh, and there may or may not have been a time that I convinced the majority of my fifth grade class that the unused room across the hall was haunted. Yep, I'm that kid.

• 37:12Sabrina Deana-Roga?

But was it haunted or did you just make it up and you convinced everyone? Either way, love it. I had a friend in middle school, I think her name was Alexa. Shout out to you, I hope you're doing well. And I think we were just making this up entirely, but she would go to the bathroom and she'd be like, there was a ghost in the bathroom. So then I would be like, can I use the bathroom? And I would go to the bathroom and I'd like, just like, sit in there.

• 37:34Corinne Vien?

Ghost hunt? Your first ghost hunting experience?

• 37:35Sabrina Deana-Roga?

And then I would come back to class and I'd be like, I saw it too, but I didn't.

• 37:39Corinne Vien?

That's what bonded you guys? Okay, anyway, let's get into the reason I started this email in the first place. I'm starting off with some background details and I do promise that these are important. I'm the youngest of three kids, the only girl, and was raised by, let's say, more traditional type of parents. Part of their traditionalness involves not telling me a damn thing because they don't want me to worry. Oh, my brother's in the hospital? We don't want to bother you. Dad had surgery? Didn't want to bother, oh my god, this is my parents. Unless I directly ask, like, I have to like, just conjure things up, like, is there any chance that there was a test result that has anything to do with this? And it's like, oh yeah, this did happen a couple of months ago. It's like, they don't tell me anything.

• 38:20Sabrina Deana-Roga?

It's like the fine line, because like, I feel like I was told way too much. Where it's like, how do you walk that line? But yeah, it's confusing because you're a kid and you, you don't understand, but you know that something's weird. Like, if your brother's in the hospital.

• 38:32Corinne Vien?

  You would want to know.

• 38:33Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  Where's brother?

• 38:34Corinne Vien?

Bringing me back to my 5:00 AM, check my mom's location, I find my friend's frigging in the emergency room.

• 38:40Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  Wild.

• 38:40Corinne Vien?

Tell your kids these things. Okay, anyway. Dad had surgery? Didn't want to bother you. It's gotten worse, actually, now that I live across the country.

• 38:50Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  Oh my gosh.

• 38:50Corinne Vien?

I guess I'm out of sight, out of mind. I'm in Colorado and they're in Connecticut, which may as well just be different planets. It's trickled down to my oldest brother as well. And for context, my siblings are 10 and 12 years older than I am, and my oldest niece is 20. During my last visit home, my brother, my older brother, niece, and I were standing at my parents' kitchen just hanging out. And at some point, the conversation started to shift towards talking about some ghost show or another. My brother says, yeah, like the exorcism we had at the old house.

• 39:21Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  Excuse me, what?

• 39:22Corinne Vien?

  Literally, excuse me, what?

• 39:27Corinne Vien?

Now, let's jump back a little bit. My brother and his family used to live in a house that was next door to a very old colonial home. Think traditional and old Connecticut.

• 39:36Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  Connecticut makes sense.

• 39:37Corinne Vien?

Haunting in Connecticut, like one of the worst cases. It's a few hundred years old. It's set back in the woods, a house that I would absolutely love. It's old, it's historic, maybe a little creepy in the vibes. Anyway, my brother's dog absolutely refused to walk past this house.

• 39:52Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  Trust your pets.

• 39:53Corinne Vien?

Just a 120-pound pile of fluff parking his butt on the side of the road and holding his ground to not get anywhere closer to this house. On one of these frustrating walks, my brother glanced over at the property where he saw someone hanging from the property's barn.

• 40:08Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  Oh, my gosh.

• 40:09Corinne Vien?

He looked back again and it was gone. So he didn't really think anything of it, but around this time, he did start having dreams about this house. And the dreams were vivid. He saw soldiers battling in the field. And he started having these dreams so often that he was convinced that maybe this was a past life of his, that he was a soldier.

• 40:28Sabrina Deana-Roga?

This reminds me so much of the Conjuring House, which is on the border there.

• 40:32Corinne Vien?

  Right there in Rhode Island.

• 40:33Sabrina Deana-Roga?

And like all the battles that happened.

• 40:35Corinne Vien?

On the border of Connecticut and Rhode Island, yeah. King Philip's War, like there's so much.

• 40:38Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  Geez.

• 40:39Corinne Vien?

That's right there. He's thinking, maybe something in this house triggered memories from a past life? Maybe there was a battle near this house? In the one instance where my brother did get to meet the homeowners, he did admit that cups would randomly break and that they believed that the house was haunted.

• 40:56Sabrina Deana-Roga?

I can confirm. Never been there, but based on these stories alone.

• 40:59Corinne Vien?

Yeah. She writes, ugh, I would love to go into that house and ask these people so many questions. Why not lead with that? Hi, I live in a haunted house right next door. Okay, maybe not everyone does the things that I want to do. The next part of this involves my niece. My niece lived next door to the old house. I pretty much lived there the majority of her life. And I can't help but wonder if everything that was about to unfold somehow involved the energy around this house. In the first story anyone ever told me, my niece was maybe three or four and she was playing in her room. My brother went over to check in on her and asked her what she was doing, thinking that she'd respond something like, having a tea party with my stuffed animals or coloring a pretty picture. He was shocked when she said, I'm playing with a lady. He responded, what lady?

• 41:46Corinne Vien?

To which she said, "The lady that comes and plays with me and sometimes she touches me, but it's not mama." Uh, say what now? So freaked out, my brother backed out of the room and patiently waited for my sister-in-law to come home. He just abandoned his child.

• 42:01Sabrina Deana-Roga?

Also, like the touching me gives me like, ugh, that's like icky. What's, what do you mean?

• 42:05Corinne Vien?

Yeah, like, is she like braiding your hair? Cause like, if she's just like, oh, wouldn't necessarily think to bring that up, right? Is it maybe the spirit of our murdered aunt coming to play? Or maybe is it something darker? Things like this continued to happen and they happened even when my niece wasn't home. On one occasion, my mom was taking my niece upstairs at their house to go to bed. My niece stopped and wouldn't go any further up the dark staircase. My mom said, "Come on, there's nothing up there." Oh, contraire, mom. "Then who is standing behind you?" She asked. My niece at this point is having trouble sleeping. She's refusing to sleep by herself and everyone grew more and more frustrated with her. But looking back, maybe she had good reason.

• 42:50Corinne Vien?

Now let's jump back to present day where my brother told me about the time that his wife started sprinkling holy water on my niece and she said, "Get that crap off of me." It was somewhere around this time that a priest was called in to help. And of course, someone else walked into the room and the conversation quickly changed. And then we flew back home to Colorado without any other details. And so then I tried texting my brother and his wife about all of this and they were being really vague about the details. And not like they're trying to hide something more, just like, "Oh yeah, it was just this random thing that happened." People, this isn't like telling me about a sandwich you made. This is a goddamn exorcism. Like, what the fuck?

• 43:28Sabrina Deana-Roga?

We need every single detail, please.

• 43:30Corinne Vien?

Sure, it's, I'm going to have to get more details out of them the next time my niece visits. I'll definitely write back once I get more. See you on the other side with love, Mott.

• 43:43Sabrina Deana-Roga?

I mean, I'm not surprised that this place is haunted considering like everything that her brother was like visioning and seeing, but it is the, the get that

• 43:52Corinne Vien?

Get that crap off of me.

• 43:55Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  I don't like that.

• 43:56Corinne Vien?

  Very disturbing.

• 43:57Sabrina Deana-Roga?

Yeah, I'm so curious who this woman is. I hope she's not touching her inappropriately. There's like, there's something about that that made me feel icky.

• 44:03Corinne Vien?

  Like sometimes she touches me.

• 44:04Sabrina Deana-Roga?

Yeah, like that's such a weird statement to me.

• 44:06Corinne Vien?

  But it's not mom.

• 44:07Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  Ah!

• 44:07Corinne Vien?

  Creepy, creepy, creepy.

• 44:09Sabrina Deana-Roga?

Okay, well, I have one more. This is from my listener Maria. The demon that took an obsession with me. Why are you so obsessed with me?

• 44:18Sabrina Deana-Roga?

Demons! Yeah. Hello, my name is Maria. I live in California and I've been listening to your podcast for about a year and a half. I love hearing you guys when I'm at work or just bored at home. Anyway, this story is 100% real. These events happened to me. It has taken everything in me to start open up about my experiences due to the trauma and the anxiety that I get from reliving it.

• 44:40Corinne Vien?

  Dang, I'm sorry.

• 44:41Sabrina Deana-Roga?

Started when I was 13 years old. I lived with my mom and my brother, who at the time was an infant, and my sister, who was nine at the time. I remember as a child, my grandmother would say to me, when you go to sleep at night, make sure not to wander off too far. You don't want to do that because you won't wake up.

• 44:57Corinne Vien?

  Hmm.

• 44:57Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  Creepy grandma.

• 44:59Corinne Vien?

  Very.

• 44:59Sabrina Deana-Roga?

But also, I feel like that's like grandma's way of saying you have a gift and it's like passed on, but without like being too creepy about it, you know?

• 45:06Corinne Vien?

Yeah, it almost sounds like it's actual projection where it's like, don't go too far from your body because you might not make it back in time.

• 45:13Sabrina Deana-Roga?

I never really understood what she meant by this, so I kind of brushed her off, like, okay, yeah, sure. But yeah, at night, I would dream about going places that I had never seen before, but did somehow feel familiar. I would talk to people that felt familiar as well, but the crazy part would be when they would say, it's been a while. I'm so glad you're back.

• 45:31Corinne Vien?

  Oh, wow.

• 45:32Sabrina Deana-Roga?

We've missed you. And I swear, I felt a longing every time I saw them. Like, I would cry in my sleep, and I know this because I'd wake up with eyes wet. Yeah, so it's like another life or just, yeah, I don't know.

• 45:43Corinne Vien?

Or is there a whole other life in the astral world that people can just

• 45:47Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  Yeah.

• 45:47Corinne Vien?

experience like over lifetimes? It's just your soul going back.

• 45:51Sabrina Deana-Roga?

Right. That your back. In another instance, I remember seeing my body as I sat up and I literally floated away. Like actual objection. It reminded me of like how in Peter Pan, the kids would float away onto the stars. It was like that, only I didn't know where I was going and I could see my body. And I was disconnected from it. So one night in this world, I came across a door. And at this point, I was naive and I assumed that, ooh, a door, where does it lead? It's probably somewhere really cool. I'm like, hey, you guys, it didn't. I remember feeling so afraid the moment I opened that door. Unexplainably, I knew I was in danger.

• 46:29Corinne Vien?

  Damn.

• 46:29Sabrina Deana-Roga?

So I turned back and as I woke up, that feeling remained. It was still there, like I was in danger. Something else was there, energy was heavy. Time went on and my sister started talking in her sleep. Like she was arguing with someone, but I could never make out what she was saying. She would mumble and groan and needless to say, it scared the crap out of me. She also seemed like she was really scared because she started sleeping with the lights on and she would freak out if anyone had touched them or turned them off. She began to wake up with scratches and bruises. So she started staying up almost all night afraid of actually sleeping. At one point she refused to sleep alone, so she would sleep with me or my mom. One day she was in the shower and as I walked by the bathroom, I heard her scream. And it wasn't just like a small scream, no, this busy. She was terrified scream.

• 47:13Corinne Vien?

Makes me feel so sorry for her.

• 47:15Sabrina Deana-Roga?

My mom and I ran and opened the door. And as we approached, there was blood going down the drain and I could see my sister had three long scratches on her back.

• 47:24Corinne Vien?

  Whoa.

• 47:24Sabrina Deana-Roga?

The same day I asked her what was happening and she told me she was being physically and mentally harmed by something that she could only see in the dark. Typically, I would be scared shitless, although I too had been experiencing something like that. Every time I'd go to sleep, I would have nightmares. Which before all of this and before opening the door, nightmares were rare for me. And I would dream about an entity that every time I fell asleep would say to me, I will be there the day that you die. I will come for you when you take your very last breath.

• 47:56Corinne Vien?

In like a comforting way or a creepy way?

• 47:58Sabrina Deana-Roga?

Creepy way. Yeah, I mean, these are nightmares.

• 48:01Corinne Vien?

Right. I wasn't sure if there's just like a little shining glittery thing being like, don't worry, don't get scared. Death isn't that scary. I'll help you.

• 48:07Sabrina Deana-Roga?

Do you remember what the topic for this episode was?

• 48:12Corinne Vien?

I'm trying. I'm trying to find something.

• 48:15Sabrina Deana-Roga?

This thing never harmed me physically, but it would tell me that my sister was having nightmares. It would describe the nightmare my sister was having and say it was responsible for that nightmare.

• 48:25Corinne Vien?

  Ah.

• 48:25Sabrina Deana-Roga?

He would mock my sister and say that he would hurt her, all to get to me. One night-

• 48:30Corinne Vien?

Again, why are you so obsessed with me?

• 48:32Sabrina Deana-Roga?

It literally, like, get over me. Pour that energy back into yourself. This is a codependent demon.

• 48:39Corinne Vien?

Have you ever tried talk therapy?

• 48:42Sabrina Deana-Roga?

Yeah. What's your attachment style? Because it's a little bit obsessive.

• 48:45Corinne Vien?

She just starts reading every night before bed out loud.

• 48:49Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  Attached?

• 48:49Corinne Vien?

Attached to the book of attachment.

• 48:52Sabrina Deana-Roga?

One night, I asked this entity for a name, and it answered me. And I won't say the name because I very much believe it is a real demon's name and I don't want to speak it.

• 49:01Corinne Vien?

  Interesting.

• 49:02Sabrina Deana-Roga?

Still, I couldn't make sense of it. Everything was fine, until it wasn't. And I mean, am I making this up? I don't, like, I just was trying to write it off in my head. But all that changed when I was watching a documentary about a priest that was in charge of exorcisms. And he was talking about a demon that was known for its high rank in hell. This entity was the biggest demon out there, and this priest was saying it was the keeper of souls. Can you guess the name? The same name the entity had given me.

• 49:29Corinne Vien?

Well, you know, at least you're getting some answers.

• 49:32Sabrina Deana-Roga?

Yeah. Prior to this, in my dream, I had never heard that name before. So like, it's not like I made it up. It was in another language. Like, I hadn't heard of it. I didn't know of it. I was beyond scared. And then I was even more scared when I was able to see this entity clear as day. He would peek out of my closet and look at me. And he would have these smaller beings that looked horrific. They all had smug smiles on their faces, and they would appear when I was home alone or with my sister. I began having things thrown in my direction, never actually hitting me. And I was so scared to sleep that I even began to force myself to stay awake during the night. And I would take naps after school while it was still sunny out.

• 50:10Corinne Vien?

I feel like that makes it worse.

• 50:11Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  Yeah, sleep deprived.

• 50:13Corinne Vien?

Right. Because then you're already, like, your brain's already trying to hallucinate from sleep deprivation.

• 50:17Sabrina Deana-Roga?

Also, based on that documentary, like, this entity's the keeper of souls, and he's, like, surrounded by these, like, little gremlins.

• 50:23Corinne Vien?

Yeah. And then also sent, like, she's getting the messages, "I'm coming for you when you die." Like, your soul's spoken for. "I'm coming to collect you."

• 50:32Sabrina Deana-Roga?

So this was going on for two to three months. I was just being tormented, harassed, and scared nonstop. My sister, to this day, still has some scars from the scratches she received.

• 50:41Corinne Vien?

  Whoa.

• 50:42Sabrina Deana-Roga?

One night, I couldn't fight off my sleep. I was so tired and I dozed off. Only this time, the room was so white that it almost burned my eyes, like, the air was light. Something that I forgot was possible. And for once, I finally felt safe. As I walked in into this room, I saw two people sitting on chairs, and they called to me. They asked me to sit, so I did. I wasn't able to see their faces. I just saw, like, a bright reflection every time I tried to focus in on their faces. They wore white clothing, and they had these beautiful soothing voices. They started by saying, "Everything's going to be okay." They knew that something not holy had taken a liking to me, and that they knew it was doing these things and was hurting my sister and me.

• 51:23Sabrina Deana-Roga?

They said that I didn't have to worry about anything, because they would not allow it to keep harming us. That they will take care of it. They also told me, "No matter where you go, what you do, I will always be with you." And I woke up with tears in my eyes. I felt like everything was so much lighter and brighter, and I actually felt safe for the first time in years.

• 51:44Corinne Vien?

You know what, Sabrina? Although this is a really dark episode, and you like choosing dark stories, you also chose stories that, like, there's a savior.

• 51:53Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  There's a resolve.

• 51:54Corinne Vien?

Yeah, there's some sort of figure or guardian or something coming in to battle the darkness.

• 52:00Sabrina Deana-Roga?

It gives you, I leave you with a little hope. In the darkness, there is light.

• 52:04Corinne Vien?

  My usual MO.

• 52:05Sabrina Deana-Roga?

Who is she? Fast forward to now, my sister...

• 52:11Sabrina Deana-Roga?

It doesn't say this at all, but my brain, like, autocorrected, I think, just because we were talking about us, me being, like, light. I thought it said, "My sister committed murder," but it's not. Doesn't say that at all.

• 52:21Corinne Vien?

  She's not slander.

• 52:23Sabrina Deana-Roga?

Fast forward to now, my sister is now a committed member of her church. And she is no longer afraid of the dark. She told me not long ago that when angels appear, they are known to appear in twos. And so she believes what I saw that night in my sleep state were two angels helping us.

• 52:40Corinne Vien?

  I've never heard that.

• 52:41Sabrina Deana-Roga?

After my encounter with them, I have not been able to astral project at all, which is fine with me because I do not need another freaking demon.

• 52:48Corinne Vien?

  Yeah.

• 52:48Sabrina Deana-Roga?

However, I sometimes do feel scared or uneasy at random times in the day, but I refuse to give it power over me. And yeah, I've had things thrown at me, but I just ignore it and I go on with my day. Stop being the obelisk with me. The living ones are the ones that I think we should all really be afraid of. So that's what I say to myself all the time and it keeps me at bay. I have not been able to see these two angels that appear to my dream, but I feel them around me. And if I ever feel scared, I just close my eyes, I call on their presence, I remember their warmth and their strength, and I feel that fear melt away. Thank you for your time. Sending my spooky regards. Love, Maria.

• 53:24Corinne Vien?

Damn. What a grandma now. Like, it makes me so curious about grandma's upbringing and like, how much astral projecting she must have done. And also- It sounds like she understands the world and somehow knew that that world that she lived was passed on to.

• 53:38Sabrina Deana-Roga?

That's, okay, that's the part that like blows my mind is how does she know that Maria was going to have that gift? Like, is it every woman in the family line, but it doesn't sound like Maria's sister does it? Or is it like Maria's grandmother spoke to Maria's spirit in the astral plane before Maria was born? And that spirit was like, you won't see me for some time in this world because I'm joining you in the real world as someone close to you.

• 54:06Corinne Vien?

  Yeah.

• 54:07Sabrina Deana-Roga?

And one day I'll find my way back here. Cause when Maria went, like, everyone had familiarity and knew her, like, we've missed you.

• 54:13Corinne Vien?

But it's also not like her grandma knew that there was gonna be a dark entity either. It's not like-

• 54:18Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  Mm-mm.

• 54:19Corinne Vien?

Cause at first, when you were saying that, I was like, oh, could she, could grandma have encountered this dark energy that's like, I'm coming for one of your-

• 54:26Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  Hmm.

• 54:26Corinne Vien?

Relatives or something, or like, I'm coming for someone that's close to you? But grandma's warning wasn't necessarily about like, don't trust people that you meet at night or something.

• 54:35Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  Just don't go too far.

• 54:37Corinne Vien?

  Right.

• 54:37Sabrina Deana-Roga?

And don't open doors, you don't know where they go. Did you see, there's a Backrooms movie coming out?

• 54:41Corinne Vien?

  Mm-hmm.

• 54:42Sabrina Deana-Roga?

With, uh, Chiwetel Ejifor? Is that his name?

• 54:46Corinne Vien?

I don't know. All I know is A24 is making it.

• 54:49Sabrina Deana-Roga?

Yeah. I think it comes out in May, which might be around the time of this, May 29th. Yeah, Gwetel Edgfor, Marc Duplass.

• 54:57Corinne Vien?

It looks, based on the trailer, it looks really good, which I'm excited about because I feel like The Backrooms has such a rich lore that I feel like it's important that it like represents basically what is like said on Reddit.

• 55:09Sabrina Deana-Roga?

Like you gotta do it right.

• 55:11Corinne Vien?

Like you have to do it right. And like from the trailer, it does look like it's going to

• 55:16Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  Yeah.

• 55:16Corinne Vien?

depict the backrooms in more of like a internet lore appropriate way.

• 55:21Sabrina Deana-Roga?

Mm hmm. I agree. Okay. Well, this comes out the week before it comes out. Or no, actually it comes out

• 55:28Corinne Vien?

  same day. That's creepy.

• 55:30Sabrina Deana-Roga?

This comes out May 28th. The movie comes out May 29th.

• 55:34Corinne Vien?

Everyone, watch tomorrow. People should pay us for these promos.

• 55:38Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  Right. Seriously.

• 55:39Corinne Vien?

  It just comes out.

• 55:40Sabrina Deana-Roga?

And we just like to talk about it. Pay us to do it. We'll do it anyway.

• 55:45Corinne Vien?

Send us a screener so we can watch it before.

• 55:47Sabrina Deana-Roga?

They're like, they don't, they're like, we don't have to pay them. They're gonna do it for free no matter what.

• 55:51Corinne Vien?

  Anyway.

• 55:51Sabrina Deana-Roga?

Yeah. Anyway, I'm excited for that. And I loved the story and I'm also excited for my food, but apparently no fries.

• 56:00Corinne Vien?

  No fries.

• 56:00Sabrina Deana-Roga?

I can't believe that story. Crazy.

• 56:02Corinne Vien?

But, but, so I texted Brian. I was like, so did the guy eat it? Like it's not just on a, they don't hand them over on a bare plastic plate.

• 56:09Sabrina Deana-Roga?

Brian should have been like, let me see your car.

• 56:11Corinne Vien?

  Right.

• 56:11Sabrina Deana-Roga?

Let me see the crime scene.

• 56:13Corinne Vien?

The evidence. And Brian's like, no, I think he was trying to describe like a plastic container. I don't know. All I know is one of us is gonna have to share fries with the other. And that's okay.

• 56:24Sabrina Deana-Roga?

And that's okay. Sharing is caring.

• 56:27Sabrina Deana-Roga?

And you don't let the evil ruin your day.

• 56:30Corinne Vien?

No, no, there is still goodness out there.

• 56:34Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  If you have

• 56:35Corinne Vien?

The memory of what a fry tastes like is still within you.

• 56:38Sabrina Deana-Roga?

Close your eyes. Just imagine it. Everyone who's listening is so hungry and I'm, we're sorry. Okay. Well, if you have ghost stories, please email us at [email protected]. If we influence you to watch Backrooms or eat french fries, let the people know that we are influencers.

• 56:55Corinne Vien?

There's no way to monetize that, but we're glad to have influenced you.

• 57:00Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  You're sponsored by french fries.

• 57:01Corinne Vien?

  French fries.

• 57:03Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  There you go.

• 57:04Corinne Vien?

Grow your own potato. Makes zero sense.

• 57:08Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  Finger looking good.

• 57:10Corinne Vien?

  Looking good.

• 57:11Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  Okay, anyway.

• 57:13Corinne Vien?

  Okay.

• 57:14Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  Possessed.

• 57:14Corinne Vien?

We're gonna wrap it up. Thank you, Jamie Ryan, for editing and producing this podcast. We appreciate you.
