Okay, I'm gonna take, really quick, I'm gonna take this ginger lemon and cayenne shot. These things, last time I took this in the juice shop, I gagged so loudly, everyone looked at me.

• 1:02Speaker 03

  Oh my god, it burns.

• 1:06Brooke Averick?

  That's a tough watch.

• 1:08Speaker 03

  Oh.

• 1:08Brooke Averick?

Oh, I just got a full chill.

• 1:11Speaker 03

Oh, sorry you had to see that.

• 1:14Speaker 03

  Hey.

• 1:17Speaker 03

  Oohs.

• 1:37Speaker 03

How are you, Lady, Lady Ephraim Del Rey?

• 1:41Brooke Averick?

Lady Ephraim Del Rey? Oh, because of my gator hat?

• 1:45Speaker 03

Yeah, you look like you've been down in the booth.

• 1:48Brooke Averick?

I have been down in the, in the what?

• 1:50Speaker 03

  In the boot.

• 1:51Brooke Averick?

  In the booth?

• 1:53Speaker 03

  In the boot.

• 1:53Brooke Averick?

In the boot, I have been in the boot.

• 1:55Speaker 03

  You've been in the boot?

• 1:56Brooke Averick?

Yeah, I've been in the boot. That was my first time in the boot.

• 2:00Speaker 03

  How'd you think?

• 2:01Brooke Averick?

  I freaking loved the boot.

• 2:02Speaker 03

  Yeah.

• 2:03Brooke Averick?

  Yeah.

• 2:04Speaker 03

It is so crazy, Brooke goes to Louisiana, never would I have thought we were having this conversation, honestly, but like, yeah, it's a great place.

• 2:11Brooke Averick?

Yeah, it's a really great place. That being said, I didn't like, do a lot, and I feel like I do need to go back and really kind of get that New Orleans experience, but the limited experience that I did have there was so lovely.

• 2:27Brooke Averick?

We went on an Airbus tour of the swamps, which I really loved. Gators are, you wouldn't believe this, so friendly and loving. I really feel like, and I feel like this because my guide told me, if you were to just swim at them, they wouldn't even hurt you. They have no interest in hurting you.

• 2:48Speaker 03

  Yeah.

• 2:48Brooke Averick?

My guide was kissing them on the lips.

• 2:51Speaker 03

I saw that on your story, right?

• 2:53Brooke Averick?

Yes, kissing them on the lips.

• 2:55Speaker 03

Does everyone just look like Lenny Del Rey's new husband, or is that?

• 2:58Brooke Averick?

I was really confused because I posted the photo of my tour guide kissing the gator, because it was a shock to my system. And everyone was like, that's Lana's husband, that's Lana's husband. But he didn't look anything like Lana's husband, besides the fact that he was also a tour guide.

• 3:14Speaker 03

  He looked like Beef Jerky.

• 3:15Brooke Averick?

  People are profiling.

• 3:17Speaker 03

Well, like, there's a very certain look to alligator tour guides, I think.

• 3:22Brooke Averick?

Let me, I'm gonna look up her Lana.

• 3:26Speaker 03

They looked similar for sure, but it would be like a lineup situation.

• 3:30Brooke Averick?

They looked nothing alike. And like, trust me, I know my tour guide like the back of my own hand. He was wearing the exact same thing that Lana's husband seems to wear every day, but their faces and bodies don't look alike.

• 3:45Speaker 03

  Yeah.

• 3:46Brooke Averick?

Yeah, but I haven't taken this hat off since the swamp tour two weeks ago.

• 3:49Speaker 03

It's a good hat, I like that hat.

• 3:51Brooke Averick?

It's great. I wore it to Coachella and everything. I've lived so many lives since I last saw you.

• 3:56Speaker 03

  Genuinely.

• 3:57Brooke Averick?

  Genuinely.

• 3:58Speaker 03

Well, because we didn't record last week because we had the Efron episode, which-

• 4:03Brooke Averick?

Which, by the way, like, what's the point of being here without Dylan? I'm sorry.

• 4:06Speaker 03

I mean, it is just gonna be like a, it's just gonna be like, you know, it just is what it is. Like, this is the following up, this is the following episode. Like, it's really hard to top that. And like, everyone just kind of, take this episode as like a Sunday digestion, you know, a rot, Sunday rot, kind of episode that's like, everyone calm down, sit with us, enjoy this space, recognize the space that you're in, and kind of relax. Because this episode's gonna be, you know, Dylan is not here with us. Dylan's actually somewhere else, completely.

• 4:37Brooke Averick?

Which is like, so hard, not knowing like, when the next time you'll see him is, you know?

• 4:43Speaker 03

Right. Well, what's so weird is I went.

• 4:47Brooke Averick?

  Took my heart in storm.

• 4:48Speaker 03

I went to a wedding and everyone at the wedding is like, oh, yeah, oh, yeah, I golf with him.

• 4:54Brooke Averick?

  Golf with Dill?

• 4:56Speaker 03

Golf with Dill, yeah. They were like, um, they texted him, sent a picture of us together and he goes, ask him how his jaw is, which I thought was funny.

• 5:05Brooke Averick?

  Wow.

• 5:06Speaker 03

I'm curious, though. Uh, he said he would send me a picture of the salt shakers. I haven't seen that photo yet.

• 5:13Brooke Averick?

Well, he doesn't have your number, does he?

• 5:16Speaker 03

No, but it's easy to get by, by just asking.

• 5:18Brooke Averick?

Yeah. Well, I'm sure he doesn't wanna like, be like, hey, man, what's your number, you know?

• 5:23Speaker 03

He doesn't wanna be too eager.

• 5:24Brooke Averick?

Yeah, he doesn't wanna be over eager.

• 5:26Speaker 03

Yeah, I get it. That's fine. But show me those salt shakers, Dill.

• 5:34Speaker 03

Put your money where your mouth is, Dill dog.

• 5:36Brooke Averick?

You and those shakers. You're hot. It's blending into the wall. Do you see that?

• 5:41Speaker 03

I know. I just noticed that. Um.

• 5:43Brooke Averick?

  Now it's hot.

• 5:44Speaker 03

Should I change hats really quick? I'm sorry.

• 5:45Brooke Averick?

  Yeah.

• 5:46Speaker 03

  Okay.

• 5:47Brooke Averick?

If you want to. I don't think it's a bad thing, but.

• 5:49Speaker 03

Well, I just know, it's just reflecting a lot of light and it's probably distracting. What did you do with your salt shakers? I couldn't help.

• 5:56Brooke Averick?

My salt shakers are on my table.

• 5:59Speaker 03

  Oh, cute.

• 6:00Brooke Averick?

On my main dining room table.

• 6:02Speaker 03

Oh, did you fill them up?

• 6:04Brooke Averick?

I don't have salt yet. You know why? Well, I guess that doesn't make sense. I was gonna say, cause I haven't cooked anything since I moved in July, but that doesn't, like, I can still salt things that I haven't cooked.

• 6:16Speaker 03

It's like so important to have salt.

• 6:18Brooke Averick?

  Yeah, it is, isn't it?

• 6:19Speaker 03

Kinda underappreciated. Yeah, my mom makes me take a handful of it when I wake up in the morning when I'm at her house.

• 6:25Brooke Averick?

  Yeah.

• 6:25Speaker 03

Puts it in my hand. I'm like, I'm completely parched.

• 6:27Brooke Averick?

  Yeah, I know.

• 6:28Speaker 03

Right now, I don't think like a handful of salt is gonna like wake me up or anything.

• 6:32Brooke Averick?

That's supposed to help if you mix it in water.

• 6:34Speaker 03

Yeah. She has me just kind of, she just kinda dumps it into my mouth and holds my nose.

• 6:39Brooke Averick?

  Yeah.

• 6:41Speaker 03

  Um, which I love.

• 6:43Brooke Averick?

  No, I'm, I'm, that's incredible.

• 6:45Speaker 03

  Yeah. So let's circle back.

• 6:48Brooke Averick?

  Okay.

• 6:49Speaker 03

To the last time we spoke, was it two weeks ago legit?

• 6:53Brooke Averick?

  At our live show.

• 6:55Speaker 03

Oh, yeah. Which, thank you guys so much for coming. That was a blast. Um, you killed.

• 7:02Brooke Averick?

  No.

• 7:02Speaker 03

You ate it, you, you ate, you, you ate it up and left, left no crumbs.

• 7:05Brooke Averick?

I was so dumb up there.

• 7:07Speaker 03

And everyone was saying, Connor, please help. We need a crumb. Please, sir, just another piece. And you say, sorry, I ate it all. I ate all, I ate all.

• 7:15Brooke Averick?

It literally took me 45 minutes to like more, get used to sitting up there and then there was 10 minutes left of the show.

• 7:22Speaker 03

  I thought it was great.

• 7:24Brooke Averick?

  Thanks for having me.

• 7:24Speaker 03

  Ever had a great time.

• 7:25Brooke Averick?

Thank you for having me. Yeah. Had a blast.

• 7:28Speaker 03

It was last. And then I don't even know, I guess I went straight to the wedding from there and then I came back to New York, which is where I immediately got under the weather, which is whatever, if you're hearing this right now, that's what's happening.

• 7:40Brooke Averick?

  Are you okay?

• 7:40Speaker 03

On the tail end of it.

• 7:41Brooke Averick?

  I'm worried about you.

• 7:43Speaker 03

Not to be like a guy that's sick because I, my understanding is that like, like every time a guy gets sick, it's like, oh, I'm dying, I'm dying. And like, of course, my mom was in town too. So it's like, now it like, looks like my mom flew to town because I got sick. But when I tell you guys, I had a 102 degree fever for six days. It was just nonstop.

• 8:06Speaker 03

Good lord. But finally I'm, I'm on the tail end of it.

• 8:09Brooke Averick?

Poor baby. I'm so sorry Connor. I would also not handle that well either.

• 8:14Speaker 03

  It was just like.

• 8:15Brooke Averick?

But honestly, you didn't talk about it too much. Like I would be letting you know about my temperature updates every eight seconds.

• 8:22Speaker 03

Well, I couldn't like pick up my phone.

• 8:24Brooke Averick?

Yeah. That's when, that is when you know.

• 8:29Speaker 03

  Yeah.

• 8:29Brooke Averick?

When it's like you can't even answer texts. And sometimes when you're like so sick, it's like, I don't even know how I'm gonna like call out of work.

• 8:35Speaker 03

  Right.

• 8:36Brooke Averick?

  Yeah.

• 8:36Speaker 03

  Right.

• 8:37Brooke Averick?

  That's horrible.

• 8:38Speaker 03

But my goal, I'm just like by the grace of God, I didn't have anything over the weekend and I didn't have anything a ton this weekend. I, this week is my first like couple stops back on tour in Omaha and Kansas City. I really didn't want to miss those.

• 8:50Brooke Averick?

  I love Omaha.

• 8:52Speaker 03

Do you really? Oh yeah. You've been in Nebraska.

• 8:54Brooke Averick?

  Yeah.

• 8:55Speaker 03

Why, why did you get, was that when you were driving through from Philly to?

• 8:58Brooke Averick?

That's when I was driving through and I was like pleasantly surprised by how beautiful Nebraska was when I was driving through.

• 9:05Speaker 03

Was that where you saw that giant spool?

• 9:07Brooke Averick?

  A giant school?

• 9:08Speaker 03

  Spool of wool or string?

• 9:11Brooke Averick?

I don't think I did see a giant spool of string.

• 9:14Speaker 03

Oh, I thought that they had the-

• 9:15Brooke Averick?

Must have been your other friend that likes string.

• 9:18Speaker 03

  Oh my god.

• 9:19Brooke Averick?

I did see Carhenge, which is like Stonehenge, but cars-

• 9:24Speaker 03

I knew there was something there, yeah.

• 9:26Brooke Averick?

But I forget where that was. It could have been Nebraska, but it could have been any other state in that vicinity.

• 9:34Speaker 03

I wonder what like people from Europe think that when we're like, "Yeah, I did a cross-country trip. It was amazing. I saw the giant spool of string." And then I saw Carhenge, which is a bunch of abandoned cars, just like kind of stuck in the dirt.

• 9:48Brooke Averick?

Surely they have that too. It's in Nebraska.

• 9:51Speaker 03

I think that they have like Mount Kilimanjaro and they have like-

• 9:54Brooke Averick?

Surely Kilimanjaro is not in Europe.

• 9:57Speaker 03

Sorry, pregnancy brain over here. Everyone's gonna, I'm, I'm not worried about it that much. Now, I, here's something I am worried about. And before I even damn say it again, wrong, I'm gonna just fact-check. Because last week, we are like, weeks ago, Brooke, this is the third time we'll have brought this up on the podcast. We talked about Louis Armstrong.

• 10:21Brooke Averick?

Louis is, um, don't tell me, because I friggin' know it.

• 10:29Brooke Averick?

What a wonderful world. Neil is-

• 10:35Brooke Averick?

Fuck, like Neil is the moon and Lance is Liv Strong.

• 10:42Speaker 03

We, um, first of all, someone commented and said, well, hang on.

• 10:49Speaker 03

Louis Armstrong commented on our TikTok.

• 10:51Brooke Averick?

  There's no way.

• 10:54Speaker 03

  He said.

• 10:55Brooke Averick?

  Louis is not alive.

• 10:58Speaker 03

He's not, right? Okay, well, the official Louis Armstrong.

• 11:02Brooke Averick?

  Is he alive? No.

• 11:06Brooke Averick?

  His estate?

• 11:07Speaker 03

Like, his estate commented. The estate of Louis Armstrong commented, "The trumpet comma, not the saxophone..." Dot, dot, dot. That is a very important distinction.

• 11:16Brooke Averick?

  So sorry. I feel bad.

• 11:18Speaker 03

Finger up. Oh, I was... Like, Louis Armstrong has entered the chat.

• 11:23Brooke Averick?

That's embarrassing, like, for us, like, truly.

• 11:26Speaker 03

That's like, that's like... That's like mic drop, like, in the podcast. Louis Armstrong is, like, is here now. Everyone else can go home.

• 11:37Brooke Averick?

  That's...

• 11:38Speaker 03

Let me look up, I have to look up his TikTok to see, like, who, like, who was at the comment. Someone else commented, it was like, "Louis Armstrong played the fucking trumpet."

• 11:47Brooke Averick?

  I am so sorry.

• 11:48Speaker 03

Everyone is really mad. I'm, I'm sorry.

• 11:51Brooke Averick?

  When did he?

• 11:52Speaker 03

  Armstrong.

• 11:54Brooke Averick?

So he actually died in 1971, believe it or not.

• 11:58Speaker 03

  We're not too far off?

• 12:01Brooke Averick?

Wow, he was born in New Orleans. I know it well. In 1901. Wow, that's close to the 1800s.

• 12:10Speaker 03

So he would have been like a Gen Z baby that's like, "You were born in the 18..." You were born in the 90s?

• 12:16Brooke Averick?

  Yeah, yeah, yeah.

• 12:17Speaker 03

He's talking about the 1890s, you're like, "Ew, you're old."

• 12:20Brooke Averick?

  Yeah, yeah.

• 12:21Speaker 03

Because I just saw these TikToks of this guy at the mall, and he was like, "What, what would you consider old?" And people are like, "If you're born, if you're born, if you're born in 2000, like, you're old."

• 12:32Brooke Averick?

This is like, I've been thinking about this a lot. And just like, what constitutes old? You know? And obviously, it changes, like, when, as we age. Like, I used to think 20 was like...

• 12:46Speaker 03

  Oh.

• 12:46Brooke Averick?

You're a full grown up. But what really scares me is I was listening to Amy Winehouse the other day, and I remembered, like, having the thought, like, when she died and kind of like, learning about the 27 Club.

• 12:59Speaker 03

  Yeah.

• 12:59Brooke Averick?

Thinking about like, okay, like, 27, like, is young.

• 13:03Speaker 03

  Time to go.

• 13:03Brooke Averick?

I remember thinking, like, it's young, but it's like, you lived a full life. Like, I remember having that thought when I was younger, which is so insane.

• 13:12Speaker 03

  No.

• 13:12Brooke Averick?

Cause now it's like dying at 27, like, oh my god, you didn't get to do anything.

• 13:16Speaker 03

You had your whole life ahead of you.

• 13:17Brooke Averick?

  Yeah.

• 13:17Speaker 03

  Yeah.

• 13:18Brooke Averick?

  Like, wow.

• 13:20Speaker 03

Um, I remember being in college and being in class and my TA would be like, hey, do you need any help? And I'm like, get away from me, grandpa. And I think that they were like 23.

• 13:30Brooke Averick?

  Yeah.

• 13:30Speaker 03

And I remember being like, if I ever turn 23, I am going to kill myself.

• 13:36Brooke Averick?

  Yeah.

• 13:37Speaker 03

I was like, I don't know, like, I won't turn that old. I'll be 20 forever. Oh, it's so crazy.

• 13:43Brooke Averick?

Yeah. What I'm really not enjoying is all the characters in my romance books. By the way, I've read like six books with cartoon characters kissing on the front since we last spoke, but all of them are younger than me. Give or take.

• 13:57Speaker 03

  Well.

• 13:58Brooke Averick?

That's piss, that's pissing me off. That's getting my panties in a bunch.

• 14:01Speaker 03

  Right.

• 14:02Brooke Averick?

  Some are 30.

• 14:04Speaker 03

  Some are 30.

• 14:05Brooke Averick?

In a few years, those will be, they'll be younger than me too. And then it's like, when I'm 50, like, is it weird of me to be reading my cartoon books with, with 30 year olds? Who's to say?

• 14:17Speaker 03

  Oh, I mean, like, that's a, that's a, that's a great age to, like, yearn for.

• 14:21Brooke Averick?

And then, when I'm reading books about, like,

• 14:26Brooke Averick?

teen romance, then I just get sad. Cause it's like, that's way too far gone for me. You know?

• 14:34Speaker 03

I guess, but I don't like, kind of don't get it. It's International Book Day, by the way. Like, I just wanted to say happy, happy, happy, happy B, B D.

• 14:41Brooke Averick?

  Happy I, B D.

• 14:43Speaker 03

To you and yours. Well, I mean, you could write, you could write a romance, romance novel about like a 107 year old and you'd be like, wow, like,

• 14:51Brooke Averick?

No, literally, like, every book I write, the characters will be like a year older than me.

• 14:57Speaker 03

You could write about like, like a 79 year old, like, meeting the love of her life and he's 23.

• 15:03Brooke Averick?

Connor, I just read about, the last book I finished was about a woman 75. It's her last day on earth. The book is not out yet. It's called Pomeridion. Comes out next month. It was so good. But this woman's, it was her last day on earth. She's dying the next day. And she throws a party and like all she can think about is like the lost love of her life. And it was really beautiful and sad.

• 15:27Speaker 03

That's like when you need to take a beta blocker.

• 15:29Brooke Averick?

But like it was a romance of, of people of an older age.

• 15:34Speaker 03

I'd just be like so bummed if like, I'd be like, this is my day, you know, like I need to enjoy my party.

• 15:39Brooke Averick?

Well, she was waiting for her to show up. It was took place in a queer retirement community.

• 15:44Speaker 03

  Okay.

• 15:44Brooke Averick?

In the future, in the future. Yeah. It was a great book.

• 15:47Speaker 03

Queer Retirement Home in the Future.

• 15:49Brooke Averick?

Queer Retirement Community in the 2060s.

• 15:53Speaker 03

  Wow, that is so specific.

• 15:56Brooke Averick?

  Yeah.

• 15:56Speaker 03

Um, well. Yeah, that's a bummer.

• 16:00Brooke Averick?

  How's your book?

• 16:01Speaker 03

That would be a bummer. What?

• 16:02Brooke Averick?

  How's your book?

• 16:03Speaker 03

I, I put it down. But I will say, I mean, it's just for now.

• 16:07Brooke Averick?

  Just for now.

• 16:08Speaker 03

I really thought like, what? I really thought like, okay, my screen isn't working, maybe I can read this book. I coughed up something into the page and I was like, all right, this is not gonna, oh, wait, um, but, um, I put it down just for now. When I, when I have like a level head, I'm gonna start reading it again. That, that book, The Long Island Compromise, has come across my desk about 75 times since I brought it up. People are reading it. It has now been, uh, suggested in like, oh, you liked White Lotus, you'll enjoy this book, Long Island Compromise. I'm like, what the hell? Another Hunger Games situation where I judged a book by its cover and who? Guess, guess who was on this?

• 16:49Brooke Averick?

  You discovered Long Island Compromise.

• 16:50Speaker 03

Well, I definitely didn't. Like, I know that I didn't. Cause it was already like on the, in the zeitgeist, but people are picking it up now. I, I haven't had anyone reach out and be like, I read the book and it's good.

• 17:02Brooke Averick?

I've seen some people that I follow on Goodreads, read it, and I don't think any of them have rated it over three stars.

• 17:08Speaker 03

  Fascinating.

• 17:10Brooke Averick?

Which is not, which is not good from.

• 17:12Speaker 03

  Out of five, right?

• 17:13Brooke Averick?

  Standards, yeah.

• 17:14Speaker 03

  Yikes.

• 17:16Brooke Averick?

  Yeah.

• 17:17Speaker 03

Well, I mean, I don't have standards, so that would be, that'd probably be good.

But like, I just want you to pick up a book of like, something that you're really interested in, you know, instead of just like, you like the cover. But anyway, we'll get there, we will get there, I know we will.

• 18:18Speaker 03

I know, well, you know, I like, like Life of Pi, I really enjoyed, and I like.

• 18:22Brooke Averick?

  You read it?

• 18:23Speaker 03

Yeah. Forrest Hutter movie. I thought the movie was really good.

• 18:29Brooke Averick?

  Yeah.

• 18:29Speaker 03

  Fabulous movie.

• 18:30Brooke Averick?

I enjoyed the book too, we read it for school.

• 18:32Speaker 03

Oh, that's cool that you read it for school.

• 18:34Brooke Averick?

I love, like, are you okay?

• 18:38Speaker 03

  Yeah.

• 18:40Brooke Averick?

I love kind of like, highbrow books that have a plot twist, that doesn't feel like, plot twisty for the sake of being plot twisty, it's like, oh, holy shit, that's like, an academic plot twist. Does that make sense?

• 18:53Speaker 03

I don't know what the, this terminology that you're using means, highbrow books.

• 18:58Brooke Averick?

Like, it's like, very like, intellectually stimulating book, it's not just like a thriller with a plot twist, because that's what thrillers have, you know, it's like, there's a plot twist.

• 19:06Speaker 03

Can you give me an example that I would know?

• 19:09Brooke Averick?

  Of what?

• 19:09Speaker 03

A highbrow book with a plot twist.

• 19:12Brooke Averick?

  Life is Pi.

• 19:15Brooke Averick?

  Do you remember?

• 19:16Speaker 03

You think it's highbrow? It's about animals.

• 19:18Brooke Averick?

I do think it's like, an academic type of novel.

• 19:23Speaker 03

  Wow, I'm so smart.

• 19:25Brooke Averick?

  Okay, yeah.

• 19:27Speaker 03

A bird just ran into my window.

• 19:32Brooke Averick?

  Okay.

• 19:32Speaker 03

  I hope it's okay.

• 19:34Brooke Averick?

Well, I mean, I read it for school, and like, we dissected it for like, three months, so it's like, what choice do I have, other than to say it's an academic piece? But, I think there's a lot of analysis to do.

• 19:44Speaker 03

Yeah, that was one, it was a thinker.

• 19:47Brooke Averick?

Yeah, what did you take away from it?

• 19:50Speaker 03

I kind of got lost, because it's such like a, it's almost like...

• 19:57Speaker 03

Like he had lost his mind, you know?

• 19:59Brooke Averick?

  Right. Yeah.

• 20:01Speaker 03

So I guess is that, is that the highbrow piece?

• 20:04Brooke Averick?

I mean, it's just like the whole book is like, I don't know, more intellectually stimulating than your, than like a random book that you would pick up on

• 20:14Speaker 03

  Right.

• 20:14Brooke Averick?

  the bestseller table, you know?

• 20:16Speaker 03

  Yeah.

• 20:17Brooke Averick?

I remember learning a lot about like, remember id versus ego?

• 20:21Speaker 03

  Of course.

• 20:21Brooke Averick?

That's, I remember, I think that was like the focus of the life of pie discussions.

• 20:26Speaker 03

Id versus ego. Oh, right. Because, yeah, because

• 20:28Brooke Averick?

And like spoiler alert, like, like he was the id and the ego was the tiger.

• 20:34Speaker 03

The tiger and the zebra was

• 20:37Speaker 03

  the other.

• 20:37Brooke Averick?

Was he also the zebra? I actually don't remember too well, but.

• 20:43Speaker 03

I say if, if anyone hasn't read Life of Pie, like, I want to reread it.

• 20:47Brooke Averick?

Yeah, go ahead and reread it.

• 20:49Speaker 03

  No, like you can't spoil.

• 20:50Brooke Averick?

You can take a lot more away from it now.

• 20:54Speaker 03

You can't, you can't spoil Life of Pie. There's so many twists and turns. It's impossible.

• 21:00Brooke Averick?

  So many twists and turns.

• 21:02Speaker 03

It's impossible to spoil it for someone.

• 21:04Brooke Averick?

But we did spoil it pretty big.

• 21:07Speaker 03

  No.

• 21:07Brooke Averick?

  Okay.

• 21:08Speaker 03

I think so. Wait, do you want to hear something that happened to me this morning?

• 21:11Brooke Averick?

  Mm hmm.

• 21:13Speaker 03

So I'm like walking to get a juice, I'm walking home and I find a chair. And I was like, oh my God, this is so, this would go so perfect in my, I got a dining room table and I got like six chairs for my thing and I wanted like a little chair for the window. I was like, amazing. And it's like not too heavy. We're like a block from my house. We is in me by myself and me in the chair.

• 21:37Brooke Averick?

  Me in the chair.

• 21:38Speaker 03

And me and my id and my ego are a block from my house and we, we, what is wrong with me? I'm like, um, I pick up the chair and I start walking and someone goes, hey, hello, hey. They were just downloading it from their car and they were gonna put it in their house.

• 21:56Speaker 03

  That's our chair.

• 21:57Brooke Averick?

  That is horrible.

• 21:59Speaker 03

Yeah, that is horrible. And also, like, it was over my face. So, and there's people everywhere. And this is like, you know, 10 a.m. There's, it's cities of us. Go ahead and give us back our chair, please. And I was like, I am so sorry. Like, this is, that was my first time ever, like, picking something up off the sidewalk.

• 22:17Brooke Averick?

  Was it a loan?

• 22:18Speaker 03

  Yeah.

• 22:19Brooke Averick?

  Wow.

• 22:20Speaker 03

There was nothing near it at all. I was like, oh, that's brilliant. Like, this is so cool. And it looks brand new. It was.

• 22:27Speaker 03

It reminds me of when I first moved into my apartment in L.A. Like, zero money and my roommates, like, did not care to have rugs or anything. My roommate that lived there before us was like, hey, like, my other roommate said that, like, he was gonna stay in the apartment and the other roommates were moving out. And he's like, they said we'd keep the couch and the coffee table. We just have to buy it off of them. And I was like, okay, how much? He was like, it was like a crappy, crappy sectional couch, like,

• 22:54Speaker 03

  old.

• 22:55Brooke Averick?

  Mm-hmm.

• 22:55Speaker 03

Crappy. And they were like, like, three grand. And I was like, okay, I don't, like, I don't have a choice. So, like, we split it three ways, you know? They, like, didn't want to furnish it at all. And I, I found a rug outside that had been used and abused. And I brought it in and I, I Venmo charged him for half that. And he said, how much? I said, it was a hundred fifty dollars. And he shipped me seventy-five dollars.

• 23:18Brooke Averick?

  Nice. Get your

• 23:20Speaker 03

  Yeah.

• 23:20Brooke Averick?

  the bag. Okay?

• 23:21Speaker 03

I know. But it was like an old, dirty rug. And I think that's why I got sick like 12 times that year.

• 23:27Speaker 03

  Bedbugs.

• 23:28Brooke Averick?

Bedbugs. But I don't think that, I think those just, I don't think they make you sick. They just make you itch, no?

• 23:35Speaker 03

I don't know. I feel like they can give you diseases. Ew.

• 23:40Brooke Averick?

  Ew.

• 23:40Speaker 03

Bedbugs are like a huge issue in New York for some reason. And I, like, here's why bedbugs are problematic, a thread. But those haven't come across my desk yet. So also, I sent you a Snapchat yesterday. Sorry, I'm just like unloading off onto you right now. They've started construction on the staircase of my building, which is, we are now, if anyone's keeping tabs, 343, places I've lived with construction happening on my direct adjacent.

• 24:15Brooke Averick?

How long is it gonna take?

• 24:17Speaker 03

They were unclear, but they did take two hours off so I could film the podcast.

• 24:21Brooke Averick?

  That's nice.

• 24:23Speaker 03

Yeah, it was really great. It was really sweet of them. They did start at 7 a.m. though. They start at 7 a.m. every day.

• 24:29Brooke Averick?

You should ask. A staircase doesn't feel like it would take like so long.

• 24:33Speaker 03

They're really killing it, but it is.

• 24:35Brooke Averick?

  They're slaying?

• 24:36Speaker 03

They're just kind of slaying the house down, so much so that there's shit falling from my ceiling because they're hammering

• 24:42Brooke Averick?

  Ooh.

• 24:43Speaker 03

so hard on my wall. Like my old apartment in Santa Monica where they were hitting so hard that it cracked through my living room. The hammer came through while I was on that Zoom. I was like, oh my god.

• 24:55Brooke Averick?

Right. Did you see people that were able to identify what your like ball of pubes in the wall were?

• 25:01Speaker 03

  Yes.

• 25:02Brooke Averick?

  Steel wool?

• 25:02Speaker 03

It's steel wool. And it's actually the opposite of what we thought it was. It's not a dead rat. It's to keep rats out. Which I feel like there's a better solution than just shoving steel wool in the wall.

• 25:13Brooke Averick?

  Who knows?

• 25:15Speaker 03

Like, I don't know, but something tells me that maybe like reconstructing the wall and making it

• 25:24Speaker 03

like airtight would do that too.

• 25:27Brooke Averick?

It's hard for me to say, but yeah.

• 25:31Speaker 03

Okay, well, that's where I'm at right now. And they're actually, it's been nice also. Not that I have a ton of stuff in here, but I haven't had, I have my windows open all the time. I haven't had one bug.

• 25:43Speaker 03

Besides the bird that's probably dead on my balcony, I haven't had any critters at all.

• 25:48Brooke Averick?

  Are you really high up?

• 25:50Speaker 03

  No.

• 25:51Brooke Averick?

  Oh.

• 25:53Brooke Averick?

  It's, I don't think it's critter season.

• 25:55Speaker 03

Summer would probably be critter season.

• 25:58Brooke Averick?

Ever since you talked about chiggers.

• 26:01Speaker 03

  Yeah.

• 26:01Brooke Averick?

  They've been coming up everywhere.

• 26:04Speaker 03

You know, I'm surprised you didn't get any chiggers in Louisiana.

• 26:07Brooke Averick?

  I probably did.

• 26:09Speaker 03

  You would know.

• 26:10Brooke Averick?

  They'd be stuck to me.

• 26:12Speaker 03

Well, you'd just be itchy and you're like, what is that? And I'd be like, that's a chigger. You gotta put some nail polish on it.

• 26:16Brooke Averick?

  That's like beyond to me.

• 26:18Speaker 03

  Cause it suffocates them.

• 26:20Brooke Averick?

  Yeah.

• 26:21Speaker 03

  How was Coachella?

• 26:22Brooke Averick?

I was just about to say, do you want to hear about Coachella?

• 26:24Speaker 03

  Being itchy.

• 26:25Brooke Averick?

I'm so drained, just like from someone that like struggles like with traveling to do The Bachelorette, Come Back, Coachella. My God, if you don't mind me saying, um, but it was fun. Like that's like one of life's biggest anomalies is that like I, I care for Coachella weekend too. I really care for it.

• 26:47Speaker 03

  Really? A million guesses.

• 26:51Brooke Averick?

Like, it is bizarre. I will say I struggled a lot more like energy wise than I did last time. Like it is insane to me that I made it all three days last time, all day through the headliners. This time I only made it two days. I couldn't make it in the third day and I had to leave halfway through both the headliners. Cause I didn't realize that they were like two hours long and I had already been there all day. And I couldn't support myself on my feet anymore. And also when I started to sit down, my eyes started to close. And then it was a 40 minute walk home. So it's like, I better, I should just go now, you know?

• 27:25Speaker 03

There's something almost better than seeing the headliners and it's knowing that you're leaving before everybody else is.

• 27:32Brooke Averick?

Truly. And also Lady Gaga started at 11 p and I had been there since three and it was just, it was time. And the great thing about that is I could hear her on my walk home.

• 27:47Brooke Averick?

And I couldn't see anyway, I'm, I'm two inches tall, you know, so it's like, what's the difference between me standing there and me listening, walking home? But so Friday, the first set that I saw was Joe. Spelled DJ O. Joe Keery.

• 28:05Speaker 03

  I'm familiar with his work.

• 28:07Brooke Averick?

I have been familiar with his work too, specifically, you know, the hits and the beginnings.

• 28:12Speaker 03

  Love that one.

• 28:12Brooke Averick?

Some of the other popular ones, but I really, really care for the guy. Like in a big way. And so I've recently started kind of diving into that discography, which has been really fun.

• 28:28Brooke Averick?

Um, and yeah, it's nice to have a new crush, you know?

• 28:32Speaker 03

I figured that's where this is going.

• 28:33Brooke Averick?

Yeah, it brings a little bit of, it brings a little bit of, of joy to my life.

• 28:37Speaker 03

  Fun. Yeah.

• 28:38Brooke Averick?

  Yeah.

• 28:39Speaker 03

I think that you're in good company. I feel like you're going to find a really tight knit community in your crush with Joe.

• 28:44Brooke Averick?

No, Joe is to love Joe. Yeah.

• 28:47Speaker 03

  Right.

• 28:48Brooke Averick?

It's hard, like having a celebrity crush that like everyone also loves because it's like, damn, like, as if I had a chance to begin with, now I really don't have a chance. But then it's also hard having one that not a lot of people love because it's like, I need more. You know, so it's a lose lose.

• 29:05Speaker 03

Yeah. Sometimes you have to have like a dream about them.

• 29:09Brooke Averick?

  Yeah.

• 29:09Speaker 03

  And that's what you had.

• 29:11Brooke Averick?

I wish I could like Black Mirror force myself to, but.

• 29:14Speaker 03

You could do the thing that we always talk about, lucid dreaming. You just look at.

• 29:17Brooke Averick?

I, every day I count my fingers.

• 29:21Brooke Averick?

And say, lucid dream, lucid dream, lucid dream.

• 29:23Speaker 03

Well, you're supposed to look at a picture of Joe. What's his last name?

• 29:27Brooke Averick?

  Keery.

• 29:29Speaker 03

  Keery?

• 29:29Brooke Averick?

I mean, I do that like accidentally, not accidentally, but just like in passing, like all the time.

• 29:34Speaker 03

Before you go to bed, you should look at the picture of him and say his name. Joe Keery, Joe Keery, Joe Keery, Joe Keery, Joe Keery, seven times. Yeah. And then go to sleep and then he will appear.

• 29:45Brooke Averick?

Okay. I'm going to try that. What I do is count my fingers because apparently you're supposed to get in the habit of counting your fingers because when you're dreaming, you don't have 10 fingers. And so then when you count your fingers in your dream, because it's become a habit, you realize that you're dreaming when you don't have 10 fingers and then you can act accordingly. And then also just like when you talk about lucid dreaming, you just become more aware of it.

• 30:09Brooke Averick?

So those are the two strategies I know.

• 30:11Speaker 03

Dreaming and AI can't do fingers. That's really weird, the parallel there.

• 30:16Brooke Averick?

  AI can't do fingers?

• 30:18Speaker 03

No, like if you're wondering if something's AI and you look at the hands, like the hands are always fucked up.

• 30:22Brooke Averick?

  Interesting.

• 30:23Speaker 03

Yeah. Like, everything will be real and then they'll look like, like you look at their hands and there's like one, one, all, they're all attached.

• 30:34Brooke Averick?

Okay, I'll have to keep my eye out.

• 30:34Speaker 03

  It's just one hand piece.

• 30:36Brooke Averick?

  But, um.

• 30:37Speaker 03

  Or there's like fifteen fingers.

• 30:39Brooke Averick?

Okay, I'll be, I'll be looking at that in the future.

• 30:42Speaker 03

Sorry, like, dream talk, but I had, I had a dream the other night that like, I was,

• 30:49Speaker 03

I don't know if I was my age or what, but I was back in college and I was taking like a writing class.

• 30:54Brooke Averick?

  Ooh.

• 30:55Speaker 03

  And I was,

• 30:59Speaker 03

like, I had some sort of following, like Instagram, like I was like an influencer, so I was like, I don't need this. Like, I don't need to pass this class. Like, I don't, I don't need to do this. Like, everyone was like, oh, like, of course, he's like, not taking this seriously, like, doesn't have his notebook out at all. And I was like, I'm gonna have fun with this class. And it was like a main character thing where like, the English teacher was like, I see something in you. It was like,

• 31:25Speaker 03

you know what I mean? I wonder if that's like a plot where like, because there's people in school right now that are influencers and they're just taking classes and they're like, I'm, there's no way

• 31:35Speaker 03

I could make the amount of money in my profession, in my degree, that I could make being an influencer.

• 31:39Brooke Averick?

At that point, when you just crop out, I guess like skunk cost fallacy, like you've already invested some time. And like, I guess a degree, yeah, never mind. I changed my mind. You should get your degree.

• 31:51Speaker 03

  Skunk cost fallacy,

• 31:54Speaker 03

when you're talking about a degree,

• 31:57Speaker 03

  I think is mute, because.

• 32:00Brooke Averick?

  Mute?

• 32:01Speaker 03

  Moot. What is it?

• 32:03Brooke Averick?

  No, it is moot, yeah.

• 32:05Speaker 03

  Moot.

• 32:05Brooke Averick?

  Why do you think that?

• 32:06Speaker 03

Because it's like, if you're two years into your degree,

• 32:11Speaker 03

like, it's not like quitting right there.

• 32:14Speaker 03

If you, if you're able to manage, but like, I would, I would finish my, get my degree.

• 32:18Brooke Averick?

No, that's why, that is a skunk cost fallacy.

• 32:21Speaker 03

  The skunk cost fallacy?

• 32:22Brooke Averick?

Yeah. The skunk cost fallacy is like when you put in time to something, it's like you can't just give up. So it's like, if I put two years into my degree.

• 32:33Brooke Averick?

I don't want to leave because of the skunk cost fallacy. Like, I've already invested so much time.

• 32:37Speaker 03

You keep calling it the skunk cost fallacy?

• 32:40Brooke Averick?

We've talked about this so much.

• 32:42Speaker 03

But skunk? Are you saying skunk?

• 32:44Brooke Averick?

  Yeah, I am saying skunk.

• 32:45Speaker 03

  Brooke, it's sunk.

• 32:48Brooke Averick?

  There's no way.

• 32:50Speaker 03

It's sunk in cost fallacy, like.

• 32:57Brooke Averick?

I've been saying skunk this whole time. No.

• 33:03Brooke Averick?

  Skunk?

• 33:04Speaker 03

  Brooke, it's on the screen.

• 33:06Brooke Averick?

Meanwhile, me being so, such an intellectual, all-episode, highbrow, life of pie, id ego, skunk cost fallacy, okay?

• 33:14Speaker 03

  Skunk cost?

• 33:15Brooke Averick?

That just goes to show you, like, we all have our quirks and, you know, intelligence can be defined in a lot of different ways and everything like that, and I would like to move on.

• 33:28Speaker 03

  I love skunk cost fallacy.

• 33:31Speaker 03

It's like if the, if the skunk has already sprayed its little orphactory gland.

• 33:37Brooke Averick?

I did wonder, like, what, what is the root of the skunk?

• 33:42Speaker 03

It took me like six times, I'm like, is she saying skunk?

• 33:44Brooke Averick?

But sunk cost, like, yeah, that makes so much sense to me.

• 33:50Speaker 03

Like, you've already sunk so much time.

• 33:52Brooke Averick?

You've sunk so much time into it. Yeah, I did wonder about the skunk. Not enough to be like, maybe it's not skunk, but I did wonder about it. I want to flag that.

• 34:00Speaker 03

This stinky fallacy. This is one of the stinkiest fallacies out there.

• 34:06Brooke Averick?

Wow, that was like so bad.

• 34:09Speaker 03

  That's funny.

• 34:10Brooke Averick?

And I was like in the middle of condescending you too, so like, couldn't have been worse.

• 34:14Speaker 03

Well, it took, it took me like six, I'm telling you, it took me so long to be like, is she saying skunk?

• 34:20Speaker 03

  What is she talking about?

• 34:23Speaker 03

I do want to say really quickly, someone at Coachella DM'd me and was like, oh my god, uh, my girlfriend just noticed that like we have the same posture.

• 34:32Brooke Averick?

  Okay.

• 34:33Speaker 03

Hunchback of Notre Dame, like, full-blown, like, full-blown.

• 34:39Speaker 03

  I'm working on my posture.

• 34:40Brooke Averick?

Like you were stopping him and then you realized?

• 34:43Speaker 03

Well, I was like, what a specific thing to say like this guy needs a back brace.

• 34:47Brooke Averick?

Yeah. I would love to, I was thinking about my posture a lot this weekend as I was sitting on the ground. I'm just like, my nose is touching my knees when I sit.

• 34:58Speaker 03

Sitting is one thing. When I stand and I see a picture of myself and like my shoulders are

• 35:02Brooke Averick?

  Yeah.

• 35:03Speaker 03

forward, it's like, gosh darn it. Like, what are you doing? Screenager? Roll your shoulders back.

• 35:09Brooke Averick?

  Totally.

• 35:09Speaker 03

  Don't flare your chest.

• 35:10Brooke Averick?

Yeah, I would love to take a class on sitting and standing and shit like that.

• 35:19Speaker 03

If anyone out there in the LA cosmopolitan area has a class on sitting, standing and shit like that, you know where to find us.

• 35:26Brooke Averick?

Let us know. But let me finish telling you about Coachella.

• 35:30Speaker 03

  Oh, yeah, hit me.

• 35:31Brooke Averick?

Wait, have you listened to Lady Gaga's new album at all?

• 35:33Speaker 03

Um, I've heard the one big song.

• 35:35Brooke Averick?

  With Bruno Mars? Or Abracadabra?

• 35:37Speaker 03

That one, I've heard both. Now, the one with Bruno Mars, I, that is one of those songs that I always talk about that like was created by the government. I like, who is, like, I don't know who's listening to that song.

• 35:49Brooke Averick?

  Happy?

• 35:50Speaker 03

  Yes.

• 35:52Brooke Averick?

  Yeah.

• 35:52Speaker 03

Like yummy yummy by Justin Bieber. Like, what? I know, why do I know every word? You know, like, why am I waking up in the morning and the first thing I if the world was a, I'm gonna be, like, uh.

• 36:07Brooke Averick?

Yeah, I don't love that one. But there's two that I'm obsessed with. Okay? And I think you'll really enjoy them too, especially Killa. I think it's Killa, not Killer, right?

• 36:20Speaker 03

  Oh, Killa, right, right, right.

• 36:21Brooke Averick?

Killa! That one's really fun. And I really like it. Yeah, it's Killa. And then Garden of Eden. They're so fun.

• 36:30Speaker 03

  I'll look into it.

• 36:30Brooke Averick?

Yeah, definitely look into it. Flagging those. And then, the next day, I was, uh, one of the first ones at the festival, Connor, believe it or not, left at one for Ed Sheeran, who was not there weekend one. He was there weekend two. He filled in for FK Twigs.

• 36:49Speaker 03

  Wow.

• 36:50Brooke Averick?

And he was at one of the smaller stages. I couldn't like there were I was backed up to the gods like backed up to another stage. Basically.

• 37:01Speaker 03

Why would they put him there?

• 37:02Brooke Averick?

He there was like a lot of backlash like put Ed at a bigger stage blah blah blah and like all these TikToks of like filming where he was and how the people were overflowing and by the way if you look at any of those TikToks you can see me sitting on a

• 37:17Brooke Averick?

in my hat that I can't take off look for my camo hat I'm sitting on a gate which is probably illegal but no none of the security could access me through the mob.

• 37:27Brooke Averick?

But you can see me sitting there which is cool I feel like a like middle schooler being like there I am there I am but really there I was if you look at any of those videos.

• 37:36Speaker 03

At the end of the day.

• 37:36Brooke Averick?

At the end of the day. And he said that that he want he really enjoys performing at small stages.

• 37:45Speaker 03

  But it's just not conducive.

• 37:46Brooke Averick?

It was not conducive and like it was where I was like suddenly became like a walkway of sorts so there were people like

• 37:55Brooke Averick?

hurling their bodies like through right in front of me and so it was pretty unpleasant but it was good to see him. You know?

• 38:03Speaker 03

  Yeah.

• 38:04Brooke Averick?

As I am in the head through and through. Ashirio. And he sung like almost all of his early stuff which was just completely fabulous.

• 38:14Speaker 03

  That's so cool.

• 38:15Brooke Averick?

  Yeah.

• 38:15Speaker 03

It's so random that he he swapped out for FKA twigs?

• 38:19Brooke Averick?

  Yeah.

• 38:20Speaker 03

  Huh. Random.

• 38:22Brooke Averick?

Yeah. Well she like there was something that happened with her. But I don't really remember.

• 38:29Speaker 03

What does like someone like Ed Sheeran get paid to just like pop in or do you think?

• 38:33Brooke Averick?

Do you get I don't think you get paid a lot to perform at Coachella.

• 38:37Speaker 03

  What's the you must?

• 38:39Brooke Averick?

Do you think can we look up how much does it cost a headline?

• 38:44Speaker 03

Or what do you get paid?

• 38:46Brooke Averick?

Yeah. A million per weekend. Just a million per weekend so.

• 38:51Speaker 03

  Yeah.

• 38:51Brooke Averick?

  My bad?

• 38:52Speaker 03

  Eight to 12 million. Wow.

• 38:54Brooke Averick?

  Okay, what about a non-headliner?

• 38:57Speaker 03

Headliner pay. I don't know if this is like 70K per weekend.

• 39:03Brooke Averick?

  That's so good.

• 39:06Brooke Averick?

  Wow.

• 39:06Speaker 03

  But they spend.

• 39:07Brooke Averick?

  Oh, okay.

• 39:08Speaker 03

Yeah, they spend money to like produce the set.

• 39:10Brooke Averick?

  Got it.

• 39:12Speaker 03

That's what I learned about like comedy specials is that they like, they give you this cash and then you like think you get this bonus, but then you have to pay to produce everything. So like you end up breaking even or like potentially losing money.

• 39:25Brooke Averick?

  Yeah, that makes sense.

• 39:26Speaker 03

  A lot of these times.

• 39:28Brooke Averick?

  Damn.

• 39:29Speaker 03

Mama mia, man. It's all it's cracked up to be out there. Cardi B lost. And she really, you know, she needs that cash.

• 39:36Brooke Averick?

But sometimes when you invest in yourself, it pays off.

• 39:40Speaker 03

  That is so true.

• 39:42Brooke Averick?

Similar to the skunk cost fallacy, but a little bit different.

• 39:47Brooke Averick?

Um, and then Green Day was that night?

• 39:52Speaker 03

  Did you skip Green Day?

• 39:53Brooke Averick?

No. I, I mean, I left halfway through, but again, or over halfway through, but I got, I was there for all the hits and then I could hear 21 Guns.

• 40:03Speaker 03

  That's cool.

• 40:03Brooke Averick?

  As I was walking out.

• 40:05Speaker 03

  I don't think I've ever.

• 40:07Speaker 00

• 40:51Speaker 03

You wouldn't believe this about me, but I don't think I've ever at any festival stated for the headliners.

• 40:56Brooke Averick?

  Really?

• 40:57Speaker 03

  Never.

• 40:57Brooke Averick?

I really gave it my all, especially for Green Day, but I was, I checked the setlist when I start, my eyes started clamping shut and we had an hour 20 left. And I was like, there's just, there isn't a way.

• 41:09Speaker 03

  No.

• 41:10Brooke Averick?

  Um.

• 41:12Brooke Averick?

But I, I really love Green Day, as you know, and I'm, I feel comfortable saying that I do feel like I enjoyed the Avril Band more than the original Broadway.

• 41:22Speaker 03

  That's good to hear.

• 41:23Brooke Averick?

  I really do feel.

• 41:24Speaker 03

Normalized changing your mind after learning new information.

• 41:27Brooke Averick?

  Yeah. They rock out.

• 41:30Speaker 03

Yeah, they do. What was the thing with like?

• 41:34Speaker 03

Aren't they like in trouble right now? Didn't, didn't people get mad at them?

• 41:38Brooke Averick?

  Not that I know of.

• 41:39Speaker 03

So Charlie actually acts the first.

• 41:40Brooke Averick?

  Oh, oh, oh.

• 41:41Speaker 03

  Weekend.

• 41:41Brooke Averick?

No, Charlie wore that sash that said Little Miss should have been headliner.

• 41:45Speaker 03

  Yeah.

• 41:46Brooke Averick?

And so they, people were like, how dare you? Like you think you're as good as Green Day?

• 41:52Speaker 03

  Yeah.

• 41:52Brooke Averick?

That was more so her getting in trouble.

• 41:55Speaker 03

But then they were like, I know.

• 41:56Brooke Averick?

But then they wore a brat hat, or Billy Joe wore a brat hat.

• 42:02Speaker 03

Yeah, I knew all this, but like.

• 42:05Speaker 03

  She's obviously joking.

• 42:06Brooke Averick?

I read, I didn't read it as like I should, Little Miss should have been headliner instead of Green Day. I didn't read it as that. I read it as just like in general, which like I kind of agree after the year she's had.

• 42:16Speaker 03

  They got in trouble because.

• 42:19Speaker 03

Or like they were, people were mad at them because they wore, they wore the actual headliner sash and then he wore the hat as like a, as like an olive branch.

• 42:27Brooke Averick?

  They're fine.

• 42:29Speaker 03

  Everyone's kosher.

• 42:31Brooke Averick?

Like I literally am just like, it's so not that serious.

• 42:35Speaker 03

I always think it's funny how there's two weekends of Coachella and then Sage Coach is just like, just slides in after all the grass aesthetic at, in the fields.

• 42:44Brooke Averick?

Yeah. Do they sell the rose garden for Sage Coach?

• 42:49Speaker 03

  Yeah.

• 42:49Brooke Averick?

  That's my home.

• 42:51Speaker 03

Yeah. Sage Coach is so much fun. Sage Coach is great. You can sit all day.

• 42:55Brooke Averick?

  I love sitting.

• 42:57Speaker 03

  Yeah, and like the VIP.

• 42:58Brooke Averick?

About, I think why I can do Coachella. It's like, sitting is not only normalized, but encouraged. Sit outside with your friends and, you know, I can only speak for weekend two, which I genuinely think is like half the capacity of weekend one.

• 43:14Brooke Averick?

It's like not very crowded, big sprawling open fields. I get sushi every time.

• 43:20Speaker 03

  Caleb Heron posted something.

• 43:21Brooke Averick?

  I love him.

• 43:23Speaker 03

Yesterday, I want to see if it's still up.

• 43:25Brooke Averick?

  The thing about.

• 43:26Speaker 03

  And I pull it up.

• 43:28Speaker 03

  No.

• 43:28Brooke Averick?

  Oh, that cracked me up.

• 43:29Speaker 03

What do you say about the Pope?

• 43:31Brooke Averick?

Just like something about the experience that they had together. Fuck, I forget, but it was so funny. And it was on his story, so now it's gone.

• 43:39Speaker 03

He said, "It is genuinely shocking to me that people are financing their trips to Coachella with Klarna and shit like that, because every post I've ever seen from that event has inspired me in a feeling so opposite of FOMO that they need a new terminology. They need new terminology to explain it. Coachella posting gives me something more than a contentment with or joy of missing out."

• 43:59Brooke Averick?

I get it. I totally get it.

• 44:00Speaker 03

It conjures a spiritual sort of imperative to miss out. A direct and righteous order from God to skip.

• 44:06Brooke Averick?

I get it. I feel that way whenever my friends post that they're like out at a bar that's more like bordering on club, you know? I'm just like, "Thank God."

• 44:20Brooke Averick?

But I don't, I literally don't know what to say. I don't know how to explain it.

• 44:23Speaker 03

No, yeah, like, that's why it's so shocking that you enjoy it. I literally don't have one single, one single, it actually like gives me anxiety to see people there.

• 44:32Brooke Averick?

I don't know. I don't, I literally don't know what to say. It makes no sense. Would I be fine never going back? A hundred percent.

• 44:42Brooke Averick?

A hundred and ten percent. Did I enjoy my time? Yeah.

• 44:47Speaker 03

That's awesome. You wanna hear something insane?

• 44:50Brooke Averick?

  Yeah.

• 44:51Speaker 03

  It's my favorite.

• 44:52Brooke Averick?

  Huh?

• 44:58Speaker 03

Sorry. So my parents were here.

• 45:02Speaker 03

  Sorry.

• 45:03Brooke Averick?

  Oh, good.

• 45:04Speaker 03

Fighting through this little tickly cough. My parents were here this week, which is funny, because they are so outspoken about how much they, they basically were like, "We're gonna come." And then the day that they were supposed to come in last week, they were like, "Actually, we went to Boston instead."

• 45:21Brooke Averick?

  Okay.

• 45:22Speaker 03

And we're just gonna take the train.

• 45:23Brooke Averick?

They have got the travel bug.

• 45:25Speaker 03

I know. So they go to Boston, and then like four days later, they come, and guess what? Instead of getting a flight, they go, "We're just gonna Uber from Boston to New York City." They Ubered from Boston.

• 45:38Brooke Averick?

  That's four hours.

• 45:39Speaker 03

They Ubered. My dad sat in the front seat and talked to the driver the whole way. He was like, "He was awesome." I'm like, "He's gonna kill himself."

• 45:45Brooke Averick?

  That is over four hours.

• 45:47Speaker 03

  Yeah.

• 45:49Speaker 03

  So they did that.

• 45:51Brooke Averick?

  Was that not like $400?

• 45:54Speaker 03

It was like 300, but it was my mom, my dad, my sister, and it's like 150 to go

• 46:00Brooke Averick?

  Right.

• 46:00Speaker 03

from any airport to Manhattan. And I was like, first of all, that's insane. Second of all, we come and

• 46:10Brooke Averick?

I didn't know Uber drivers went that far.

• 46:13Speaker 03

There was that one girl who like accidentally put home in on her. She was on the East Coast. I can't remember where she lived, but I think she was in, she was in

• 46:27Speaker 03

New York or something, Manhattan, and she put in home. And it sent her to her family's house in like Connecticut.

• 46:35Speaker 03

And it was like a $2,000 ride.

• 46:37Brooke Averick?

  Wait, where was she living?

• 46:40Speaker 03

I don't know. It was on the East Coast and it was like six states away. And the dude just dropped, drove her all the way there.

• 46:46Brooke Averick?

Did she not like realize like two hours in?

• 46:49Speaker 03

I think she passed out. This is a TikTok.

• 46:52Brooke Averick?

  Damn.

• 46:54Speaker 03

  That's crazy.

• 46:55Brooke Averick?

At that point, just like get a like driving service.

• 46:58Speaker 03

Yeah. Well, my parents were like on the way to the airport with this guy and they were like, wait, would you be willing to drive us just to New York? And he's like, yeah.

• 47:06Brooke Averick?

  Oh, wow.

• 47:07Speaker 03

Anyways, so they were here. My door locks as soon as you walk out. My dad arrives here. Six minutes he wa, I walk out to get my mail. He follows me. There's nothing to do in my apartment, so he just follows me, shuts, I go, shuts the door.

• 47:22Speaker 03

So we are locked out. Um, I have no spare key yet. And we walk outside and there's no way back in. I'm about to call like a locksmith and I guess they take like six hours and it's like $600. And I'm texting everybody that lives in the city and I'm like, hey, how do you guys? Do you do locksmiths? They go, can you, is there scaffolding anywhere near your apartment? I was like, kinda, yeah. And they're like, climb it. Like dude, and I was like, is that not illegal? And they're, no, you can do that. And so I lifted my sister up.

• 47:54Brooke Averick?

Did you know your window was open?

• 47:56Speaker 03

Yeah. And during this time, like my whole family's outside and there's this, this couple that is like the hottest couple in the world, almost like.

• 48:11Speaker 03

  I want to like

• 48:11Brooke Averick?

Like on a scale, one to Dylan?

• 48:13Speaker 03

Like so put together. It was like a White Lotus casting.

• 48:20Speaker 03

Gorgeous, rich. You could just tell. They were giving rich. They walked by first and I'm like, oh, that's like a, that is a couple like. Wow. Like it looked like Kennedys, truly. And then they walked back by and like, what are they doing? And at this point, I've lifted my sister into the rafters.

• 48:41Speaker 03

And they go, do you live here? And I go, yep. And they go, oh, we came to, came to a tour unit. And I was like, oh, great. You can be named. And at this point, I'm like, yeah, yeah. Push that window open, sis. Yeah, yeah. Push and crawled. And she's crawling through the window and they just go, all right, that was a pleasure. They just walk away. The leasing agent shows up like 10 minutes later. And they had abandoned ship. They are no longer going to live in this unit.

• 49:06Brooke Averick?

  That's tough.

• 49:07Speaker 03

  Yeah.

• 49:08Brooke Averick?

But honestly, you showed them something that they needed. You showed them something that they needed to make their decision.

• 49:13Speaker 03

I would have killed to see, to witness something like that. I mean, they don't want to live in a building where the guy asked me, do you know all of these people or just? I was like, yeah, this is my family.

• 49:25Brooke Averick?

  Yeah.

• 49:27Brooke Averick?

They weren't meant for that building and that's okay.

• 49:29Speaker 03

Yeah. I would have loved to get to gotten to know them.

• 49:32Brooke Averick?

Yeah. If it's meant for you to see them again.

• 49:35Speaker 03

Yeah, that's true. But when my parents are here, I took them to dinner one night. And they got drinks and I went to go close out the tab. And I said, Connor's, you in in? And I signed my tab and I walk away and I walk out of the restaurant. Guess whose credit card I got back?

• 49:56Brooke Averick?

  Who?

• 49:57Speaker 03

  Harry Connick Jr.

• 50:00Brooke Averick?

  No, you did not.

• 50:02Speaker 03

  Yes, I did. C O N N.

• 50:05Brooke Averick?

  What, did you locate him?

• 50:08Speaker 03

No, I didn't. He wasn't in the restaurant.

• 50:11Brooke Averick?

He just had, he just, his card was just there?

• 50:14Speaker 03

I'm offline with you. I don't know that like, I don't want to like, blow up his spot, but

• 50:20Speaker 03

I was like, can I keep this? They're like, obviously you can't that.

• 50:24Brooke Averick?

  Whoa.

• 50:24Speaker 03

But I was like, this is not me. I'm so sorry to say.

• 50:27Brooke Averick?

  My god.

• 50:27Speaker 03

Flattered, but I'm so sorry to say.

• 50:28Brooke Averick?

When you go out to dinner with your parents, do you pay sometimes?

• 50:32Speaker 03

  Yeah.

• 50:33Brooke Averick?

Wow, you've gotten to that point.

• 50:35Speaker 03

  Yeah.

• 50:35Brooke Averick?

That, and you know what? That's the answer. That's when you know you're old.

• 50:38Speaker 03

That is when you know you're old is when like the credit card comes and you're fighting or the bill comes and you're fighting, kind of like, oh, I got it. Oh, I got it. I got it. All right. You take it. I'm like, excuse me?

• 50:49Brooke Averick?

  I'll be honest, I'm not, I don't, I'm not there.

• 50:52Speaker 03

Yeah, I take it because it's, I feel like it's like a, I feel like it might be like a guy thing too. It's like, I got it.

• 50:58Brooke Averick?

  Really?

• 50:59Speaker 03

  Yeah. I don't know.

• 51:00Brooke Averick?

  Yeah, maybe.

• 51:01Speaker 03

  I also booked their hotels.

• 51:03Brooke Averick?

  No.

• 51:04Speaker 03

And I made all the reservations.

• 51:06Brooke Averick?

  With your car?

• 51:06Speaker 03

All while having, and this is before like I figured out I was sick. All while having a 101 degree fever.

• 51:18Speaker 03

  Which

• 51:20Speaker 03

I was like, I can't let them know I'm under the weather. They're not going to like New York. They loved New York. So much.

• 51:25Brooke Averick?

  Have they not been?

• 51:27Speaker 03

So my parents are of the ilk of like, they've gone to places one time. Yeah, because my dad's a pilot. He would go to a place one time. And he'll talk about it from 20 years ago, 30 years ago. He's like, doesn't go back to New Orleans because he's like, I got arrested there. One time, a long time ago. It's like a, it's gross, whatever. And I'm like, well, it can be gross, but it's a very special place. And then like New York, he's like, it's, it's, it's loud. It's packed with people. I'm like, are you thinking of Times Square?

• 51:55Brooke Averick?

  Uh huh.

• 51:56Speaker 03

Because we went and walked along the Hudson and he was like, it's so clean. And I was like, this is like, this is nice. Like, it's cool. We got a drink. They were having the, the best time.

• 52:06Brooke Averick?

  Yeah, that's lovely.

• 52:07Speaker 03

Okay, we, I took him to a restaurant. They're like, we want to go back there tomorrow. Like, they were just stoked the whole time. My mom on the way out, six times, she's like, we can go back here like while you're on tour and we can help like furnish it while you're, like they want to come back. It was so cool.

• 52:19Brooke Averick?

  Oh, good.

• 52:20Speaker 03

  I know. I was shocked.

• 52:22Brooke Averick?

No, New York really is like, you can go and stay. On one block and hate it and then come back and stay the next block over and then have the best time.

• 52:33Speaker 03

Yeah. One thing I, I love is that my mom will talk to anybody. Like she will, she's someone who will like go up to a table at a restaurant that has a newborn baby and be like, can I hold your baby?

• 52:43Brooke Averick?

  Mm-hmm.

• 52:45Speaker 03

And usually people are like, no, but with my mom, they literally hand her the baby.

• 52:52Brooke Averick?

Wow, that is so the opposite of my family. I can't stress it enough.

• 52:56Speaker 03

No, she's stopping every dog, she's stopping every dog, what breed is this? I love this breed. She's asking people where their accents are from. We go, oh, we were guessing Spain. You are Spain? Oh, my gosh, I knew it, Spain. It's like wild.

• 53:10Brooke Averick?

  That's lovely.

• 53:10Speaker 03

They're like a good fit. Yeah, they're a good fit.

• 53:12Brooke Averick?

Yeah, they are a good fit.

• 53:14Speaker 03

But yeah, it was great. It was super fun.

• 53:16Brooke Averick?

  That's great.

• 53:17Speaker 03

Wish I wasn't under the weather the whole time.

• 53:19Brooke Averick?

Love that. How's the weather over there?

• 53:22Speaker 03

  Gorgeous.

• 53:23Brooke Averick?

I think it's warmer there than it is here.

• 53:26Speaker 03

It was like 80 all weekend.

• 53:27Brooke Averick?

Oh, I'm so ready for summer.

• 53:30Speaker 03

  Hot, hot, hot. Yeah. Yeah.

• 54:17Speaker 03

I was in Miami last week for that show.

• 54:19Brooke Averick?

  Yeah.

• 54:20Speaker 03

And it was, I love Miami.

• 54:24Brooke Averick?

  Interesting.

• 54:25Speaker 03

  Yeah, isn't that crazy?

• 54:26Brooke Averick?

I mean, that's not surprising, but. I don't know that I've ever been anywhere besides like wherever Versace's mansion is.

• 54:35Speaker 03

  Oh, that's a different area.

• 54:36Brooke Averick?

  Yeah.

• 54:37Speaker 03

  Anyways, I enjoy it.

• 54:39Brooke Averick?

  South Beach?

• 54:39Speaker 03

Miami one time. Not quite South Beach, it's a little too party club vibes.

• 54:44Brooke Averick?

No, where was, where was I? Is that South Beach?

• 54:46Speaker 03

  Yeah, South Beach, probably.

• 54:48Brooke Averick?

Yeah, I need to go to the more tame area.

• 54:52Speaker 03

  Yeah, Coachella.

• 54:54Brooke Averick?

  I love Coachella, weekend two.

• 54:57Speaker 03

  Special place.

• 54:59Brooke Averick?

  Um.

• 54:59Speaker 03

  A place for special girls.

• 55:01Brooke Averick?

I bet you, I guess you're wondering how the cats are doing, huh?

• 55:04Speaker 03

Oh, my gosh, fill us in on the cats.

• 55:06Brooke Averick?

They are driving me to the bottle, Connor. They are driving me to the Captain Morgan Chili Lime.

• 55:12Speaker 03

Now, that's mouth blowing because it has been so long and it's mouth blowing that they, because I, I just talked about this with someone else. I don't know why I lied. I was watching a video on Dodo.

• 55:26Brooke Averick?

  Mm hmm.

• 55:27Speaker 03

  That like

• 55:27Brooke Averick?

  Love Dodo.

• 55:29Speaker 03

Me too, but it was like the same sort of thing. It's like they didn't get along, didn't get along, didn't get along. And like six weeks in, they're cuddling and

• 55:36Brooke Averick?

I'm waiting to walk in the door to them just like grooming each other, cuddling. We keep making so much progress, like Rob will be on the bed. John is now comfortable coming on the bed, which is great. That's huge progress. Like he'll sleep with me, Rob will be on the bed. That's all good. But then like Rob will sneak up and like give John's ear like one little lick and then clock him in the head. And it's just like, and then

• 56:04Speaker 03

  That's tough love.

• 56:05Brooke Averick?

The other day, Rob was under the covers, sleeping with me and then John like crept up, saw the blob under the covers and then just repeatedly nailed Rob like over and over. They, it's like insane, but then like they'll also like have little moments. So I'm, don't want to separate them because they're, they are making so much progress, but then they'll have a setback.

• 56:31Speaker 03

You separate them when you leave the house?

• 56:33Brooke Averick?

No, and they're, every time I've left the house, like I come back and they're in the same room. Like one on my bed, one on the cuck chair. Like they enjoy being in the same space.

• 56:43Speaker 03

Did you, did you set up your ring camera?

• 56:46Brooke Averick?

  I need to.

• 56:48Speaker 03

  You should.

• 56:48Brooke Averick?

They enjoy being in the same space, clearly. It's when they get too close, one of them gets spooked or something. But there's been progress.

• 56:57Speaker 03

Little moments turn into big moments.

• 56:58Brooke Averick?

They are waking me up every hour, which is great.

• 57:03Speaker 03

  Yeah.

• 57:03Brooke Averick?

Um, you know, it has been harder than I anticipated. It's not something that I expected, but it's a challenge that I'm meeting.

• 57:11Speaker 03

Good for you. Kiss your brain, pat yourself on the back. Pat yourself on the ass.

• 57:15Brooke Averick?

  Yeah.

• 57:18Speaker 03

  My, um, Mimi.

• 57:22Brooke Averick?

  Yeah.

• 57:23Speaker 03

  Is, has a TikTok.

• 57:25Brooke Averick?

  Oh, that cracked me up.

• 57:27Speaker 03

And it's like user, this is my grandma who like loves to take Max to the park in Texas. Takes him every day since we picture every day. She, I got a, I got a link sent to me from Cousin Logan and it's a story posted on a still photo on user nine, six, one, seven, eight, four, two, three, two, five. And it's just Max at the park and it's, so baby, hold me closer in the backseat of your Rover.

• 57:57Brooke Averick?

  That killed me.

• 57:59Speaker 03

It's a Chainsmoker song and Max is just like tongued out at the park on Mimi's faceless TikTok story.

• 58:07Brooke Averick?

  It's so good.

• 58:09Speaker 03

  It's amazing.

• 58:09Brooke Averick?

Do you think she knows that she posted it?

• 58:12Speaker 03

I like, I have no clue. She does DM me like all the, she knows how to DM.

• 58:17Brooke Averick?

  She DMs you like videos?

• 58:20Speaker 03

  Yeah.

• 58:22Speaker 03

I'd have a big talk with my family, by the way, the other day about like digital.

• 58:26Brooke Averick?

  Butprints?

• 58:28Speaker 03

No. Digital etiquette because I'm on a flight the other day.

• 58:35Speaker 03

And you can't get calls on a flight if you have wifi. Like it just says like missed call, missed call.

• 58:41Speaker 03

And then for whatever reason, like no voicemail. So I had two missed calls from my dad and then Mimi texts me, call your dad immediately. And I'm like, oh crap, like what's going on, what's going on? And then no one's responding to me. I'm like, oh my God, someone died, Max died, something happened. Get off the flight. I fly to Houston. What do you want for dinner?

• 59:04Speaker 03

Just like so insane. Like, please shoot a text.

• 59:07Brooke Averick?

That happens too often, it seems.

• 59:10Speaker 03

Well, my dad was like, I didn't even tell Mimi I was calling you. I was like, you gotta shoot me a text, though. So I like noted.

• 59:16Brooke Averick?

  Yeah.

• 59:17Speaker 03

That nothing is, nothing's that deep.

• 59:19Brooke Averick?

Right. I need everyone to start every sentence with, everything's fine.

• 59:24Speaker 03

  Yeah.

• 59:25Brooke Averick?

  Yeah.

• 59:25Speaker 03

I know. I also need no one to call me ever again.

• 59:27Brooke Averick?

  That too. That too.

• 59:30Speaker 03

  So, that's where I'm at.

• 59:31Brooke Averick?

I did something in that conversation that we just had, that I've been doing.

• 59:35Speaker 03

  Which one just now?

• 59:36Brooke Averick?

That is so horrible and I'm trying to stop. But I can't. I've been finishing people's sentences. But with the wrong thing.

• 59:47Brooke Averick?

  Nonstop.

• 59:48Speaker 03

  That sucks.

• 59:48Brooke Averick?

It's so annoying. I did it with you just then when I said footprint and you said, no etiquette. And then I was like, oh, fuck me. I've been trying to stop. I did it so bad the other day. Like, I finished someone's sentence in a way that was like offensive to them because it was someone was, we were like, I was walking with my friend. And we were looking in, uh, like a store window and it was just like beautiful ceramics. And she was like, oh, I love those, but like, and I go, you'd never be able to afford them. And she goes, that's not what I was gonna say.

• 1:00:22Brooke Averick?

And I was like, oh my God, no, I was just thinking because the price tag was like 900. I was like, think, that's what I was thinking. So, I'll just finish.

• 1:00:30Speaker 03

  What'd she say?

• 1:00:30Brooke Averick?

She was like, oh no, that's not what I was gonna say. Like, it wasn't like, it was, we wouldn't have been able to afford them. So it's like, wasn't that bad, but like, it's really bad what I've been doing.

• 1:00:42Speaker 03

  Yeah, that's.

• 1:00:44Brooke Averick?

So I'm trying to stop that.

• 1:00:47Brooke Averick?

But I can't for some reason.

• 1:00:48Speaker 03

Well, the first step is acknowledging. I don't, I don't mind because usually I can't find the word. So it actually helps me.

• 1:00:54Brooke Averick?

No, I think, I think I'm being helpful, but like, I'm hurting.

• 1:00:58Speaker 03

  You're not hurting.

• 1:01:00Brooke Averick?

  I'm not helping.

• 1:01:01Speaker 03

  You're guiding gently.

• 1:01:03Brooke Averick?

And then I'm just like kicking myself every time. I'm like, don't do that. Why did you do that again?

• 1:01:08Speaker 03

Oh, yes. Don't be so hard on yourself, lady.

• 1:01:10Brooke Averick?

It's just like, it's just, I'm just annoying myself. It's fine.

• 1:01:14Speaker 03

Um, I just want to say, like, rest in peace, Pope.

• 1:01:19Brooke Averick?

  Yeah.

• 1:01:20Speaker 03

  You know, like,

• 1:01:22Speaker 03

I don't know him well, like, I didn't know him well.

• 1:01:28Speaker 03

  Um,

• 1:01:30Speaker 03

  he's Catholic, he was Catholic.

• 1:01:34Speaker 03

Do Jewish people have like a Pope adjacent type of person, like a Pope type figure? Or is

• 1:01:42Brooke Averick?

  I don't think so.

• 1:01:44Speaker 03

  Like Liza Minnelli?

• 1:01:46Brooke Averick?

  Yes. Barbara Streisand.

• 1:01:49Speaker 03

  Barbara Streisand, yeah.

• 1:01:51Brooke Averick?

Yeah. I think Liza Minnelli's Italian.

• 1:01:55Speaker 03

  Oh.

• 1:01:56Brooke Averick?

But you're, yeah, you're on the right track and she is important to many Jews.

• 1:02:01Speaker 03

Right. Um, she hates that account. That's like Liza Minnelli's outlived.

• 1:02:06Brooke Averick?

  Really?

• 1:02:08Speaker 03

So stop, stop doing that. I would hate it too. I'd be like, why is that?

• 1:02:11Brooke Averick?

Yeah, I would hate that too, now that you mention it. But also if I was that accountant and it was my life and I heard that Liza Minnelli hated it, like I would.

• 1:02:20Speaker 03

You would have to disable it because I do think it's

• 1:02:22Brooke Averick?

  Disable my life as well.

• 1:02:23Speaker 03

It's someone that like really admires Liza M.

• 1:02:25Brooke Averick?

Yeah, that's tough to hear that you've been doing something that's upsetting that you admire.

• 1:02:32Speaker 03

So who becomes Pope next? There's not, it's not like a king.

• 1:02:34Brooke Averick?

  I think

• 1:02:35Speaker 03

It's not like the Pope's son.

• 1:02:37Brooke Averick?

No, I saw that there's all, I saw the list of

• 1:02:41Brooke Averick?

like candidates, but I don't know if they're like voted in or how or what.

• 1:02:46Speaker 03

I was gonna say it's not a democracy, right? That you

• 1:02:49Brooke Averick?

  I don't think so, but like it's, I don't know.

• 1:02:52Speaker 03

It's crazy that you would live, do you like, are you born?

• 1:02:54Brooke Averick?

What do they do, Izzy? It's called a conclave? A con, oh, it's called a conclave, like the movie.

• 1:02:58Speaker 03

Oh, I'm familiar with the conclave.

• 1:03:00Brooke Averick?

Yeah, I haven't seen the movie, but I've heard of it. I've heard, definitely heard of it.

• 1:03:03Speaker 03

  But

• 1:03:04Brooke Averick?

  Maybe we should watch it.

• 1:03:06Speaker 03

Maybe this is something that someone could answer. Like, are you born and your parents are like, you know, like, we want our kid to be like the next president of the United States? Like, we want our kid to be the next Pope.

• 1:03:16Brooke Averick?

Do you feel like there are a lot of parents that have kids and they're like, this is the next president of the United States?

• 1:03:21Speaker 03

Probably. There's, there's kids that like are born and they're like, you're gonna be an actor, actor, actress.

• 1:03:28Speaker 03

They like go make new teeth for their infant so they can be in pageants.

• 1:03:32Brooke Averick?

  Yeah, I mean, I guess.

• 1:03:34Speaker 03

Like ours, our kid is gonna like. You'd have to be so holier than thou on such a literal standpoint to be like, our kid is gonna be the pope.

• 1:03:44Brooke Averick?

Well, I also, like, no offense, feel like there's something wrong with, like, any parent who has a kid and it's like, this kid has to be XYZ. Like, that's never gonna end well.

• 1:03:53Speaker 03

  I agree.

• 1:03:56Speaker 03

And the pope will never be a woman.

• 1:04:00Brooke Averick?

  I don't think anytime soon.

• 1:04:02Speaker 03

  Right.

• 1:04:04Brooke Averick?

  Yeah.

• 1:04:05Speaker 03

  All right.

• 1:04:05Brooke Averick?

So, I mean, I mean, it's not okay, but...

• 1:04:08Speaker 03

It might be. Like, we're not Catholic. There was a Catholic. I don't know.

• 1:04:13Brooke Averick?

It's tough for me to speak on.

• 1:04:15Speaker 03

It is tough for us. That's probably like a top, a pickup for another day.

• 1:04:19Brooke Averick?

Yeah, we could even pick it up in the bonus.

• 1:04:22Speaker 03

We could. All right, let's go there.

• 1:04:23Brooke Averick?

All right. Well, it was good to see you.

• 1:04:25Speaker 03

I'm curious. Love you. Love you mucho.

• 1:04:28Brooke Averick?

Love you all. And we'll see you in the bonus slash next week.

• 1:04:33Speaker 03

I hope this was such a relaxing episode for you guys. And it was for me to just catch up.

  Just to catch up.

• 1:04:38Speaker 03

  To know each other, realign.

• 1:04:41Brooke Averick?

  Mm-hmm.

• 1:04:42Speaker 03

  And move forward.

• 1:04:43Brooke Averick?

  Yeah.

• 1:04:45Speaker 03

  All right. Much love.

• 1:04:46Brooke Averick?

  Much.

• 1:04:47Speaker 03

  See ya.
