• 0:05George Kamel?

Today, we are asking to be roasted. The Smart Money Happy Hour podcast is like a cocktail party thrown by accountants. You show up expecting fun, but instead, you're debating Roth IRA strategies over mocktails. Why you lumping in Dave into this one?

• 0:26Rachel Cruze?

  Hey guys, I'm Rachel Cruz.

• 0:28George Kamel?

  I'm George Kamel.

• 0:30Rachel Cruze?

And this is Smart Money Happy Hour.

• 0:38Rachel Cruze?

This is the show where two friends who happen to be money experts talk about what you're talking about. Everything from pop culture, current events, and money.

• 0:44George Kamel?

And before we roast each other, well, not really each other, I guess our own advice.

• 0:48Rachel Cruze?

  Yeah.

• 0:48George Kamel?

  That they roasted us on.

• 0:50Rachel Cruze?

  Yeah, y'all roasters out there.

• 0:51George Kamel?

Talk about what we're sipping on. This is the professor. And I guess because there's a doctor on the can.

• 0:57Rachel Cruze?

  Doctor Pepper.

• 0:58George Kamel?

Not sponsored, but reach out to you, boy, if you're interested.

• 1:01Rachel Cruze?

Yeah, we'll take, we'll take the money.

• 1:03George Kamel?

So if you're interested in this canned cocktail concoction, you like that play on words? We're gonna give you our rating and reveal the cost per glass at the end of the episode, so stick around for that.

• 1:12Rachel Cruze?

I'll just say the aftertaste, not great.

• 1:14George Kamel?

Similar to roasting, I feel like, not a great aftertaste.

• 1:17Rachel Cruze?

Yeah, I mean, but okay, roasting, this is like, I feel like, become more and more popular, especially in the comedic world.

• 1:23George Kamel?

  I love watching the roast.

• 1:24Rachel Cruze?

The famous roast of Tom Brady.

• 1:26George Kamel?

  That was a good one.

• 1:26Rachel Cruze?

  Yes.

• 1:27George Kamel?

  Little edgy, not family friendly.

• 1:29Rachel Cruze?

Don't have the children around, but man.

• 1:32George Kamel?

And recently, Nikki Glaser at the Golden Globes did a roast intro, massive hit in the comedy world, crushed it. And now Gen Z is asking ChatGPT to roast their social media profiles. So a lot of iconic behavior. Everything's iconic in their world. If they like it, iconic.

• 1:49Rachel Cruze?

You know what? Say what you want about them. They don't take themselves too seriously. I appreciate it. They don't get easily offended.

• 1:54George Kamel?

At least not from AI. If a human says anything bad about them, different. But we decided to follow their lead and have some fun, so we asked ChatGPT to roast Smart Money Happy Hour.

• 2:05Rachel Cruze?

  What did it say, George?

• 2:07George Kamel?

  Here we go.

• 2:07Rachel Cruze?

  Give us the read.

• 2:09George Kamel?

Again, not my words. This is the robots. The Smart Money Happy Hour podcast is like a cocktail party thrown by accountants.

• 2:19George Kamel?

You show up expecting fun, but instead you're debating Roth IRA strategies over mocktails. Hurtful, but it gets worse. Their quote "happy hour" energy feels like you took one sip of wine and then decided to create a spreadsheet for fun. Where's the chaos, the oversharing that makes happy hour legendary? This vibe of this quote "cocktail hour" is so sober, you could deduct it on your taxes as a business expense.

• 2:44Rachel Cruze?

  Stop it, oh my gosh!

• 2:45George Kamel?

In conclusion, this show needs to loosen up for a real drink and tell us about a $600 air fryer impulse purchase. Now that would be relatable.

• 2:55Rachel Cruze?

  Wow!

• 2:56George Kamel?

First of all, who has the gall? The audacity.

• 3:00Rachel Cruze?

  Man, AI, unbelievable.

• 3:02George Kamel?

But honestly, other than it being wrong, I think we are a fun show, they're kind of right.

• 3:11George Kamel?

You bring the party, I bring the accountant.

• 3:14Rachel Cruze?

It's not as accountant, that's so silly, that's not true.

• 3:17George Kamel?

  We're cooler than most accountants.

• 3:18Rachel Cruze?

So offended, okay, well, I did this for you, George.

• 3:22George Kamel?

  What'd you do?

• 3:22Rachel Cruze?

I put in your YouTube channel.

• 3:25George Kamel?

That feels a little too specific.

• 3:27Rachel Cruze?

I know, are you ready for this?

• 3:28George Kamel?

  Okay.

• 3:29Rachel Cruze?

George Kamel's YouTube channel is like the financial version of a kale smoothie, packed with nutrients, but could use a little more flavor.

• 3:39George Kamel?

  Why is that so on-brand?

• 3:41Rachel Cruze?

I know, and then, you ready for this one? The millionaires in cars getting coffee series is like watching a budget-friendly remake of Jerry Seinfeld's show, but fewer laughs and more Excel docs.

• 3:51George Kamel?

  Oh my gosh!

• 3:52Rachel Cruze?

  Could you do mine?

• 3:53George Kamel?

That is so harsh, I did not.

• 3:56Rachel Cruze?

  You did not?

• 3:56George Kamel?

I didn't know you could handle it, so I avoided it.

• 3:58Rachel Cruze?

I could have handled it, oh man, well sorry, George.

• 4:01George Kamel?

That does hurt, and you know what, to be fair, I don't use Excel, I'm a Google Sheets guy, alright?

• 4:07Rachel Cruze?

You are very kale smoothiesque, that was pretty funny.

• 4:09George Kamel?

I haven't had a kale smoothie since I can, who's ordering a kale smoothie on purpose?

• 4:13Rachel Cruze?

You put kale in it, you don't know what's in there, it's just green.

• 4:16George Kamel?

They don't feature that, for obvious reasons.

• 4:18Rachel Cruze?

I don't think so, just like we don't feature you, for obvious reasons.

• 4:20George Kamel?

Wow, okay, hurtful but true. I feel like this whole episode was made just to roast me.

• 4:25Rachel Cruze?

I'm kidding, George. You make this funny.

• 4:27George Kamel?

Hey, a little self-reflection can't hurt. I can take the joke.

• 4:30Rachel Cruze?

Yes, we can take the heat, y'all. It hurts a little bit, but we can take it.

• 4:34George Kamel?

We can do this. So our team compiled a list of the most critical comments about our money teachings, and we're gonna read them aloud and defend each other. Co-hosts don't leave co-hosts in the hands of angry keyboard warriors.

• 4:44Rachel Cruze?

  No.

• 4:45George Kamel?

Which can I just say, if you leave any comment on the internet that isn't just like a positive, "Cool, you're not okay," if you're out there.

• 4:52Rachel Cruze?

You're really not. I will always say this, because you know what? I see things on the internet, a girl that I follow, an influencer, she has an ugly jacket. But guess what? I think about that for .2 seconds, ugly jacket, and what do I do? Just keep moving. Why would I feel the need to tell her her jacket?

• 5:09George Kamel?

Pause, comment, that's an ugly jacket.

• 5:11Rachel Cruze?

I mean, seriously, you think about that, you're like, who does that? It's really, it's hurt people, hurt people.

• 5:17George Kamel?

  That's what it is.

• 5:18Rachel Cruze?

It is. So go find healing, go be a whole person. It does you.

• 5:22George Kamel?

  Beautifully said.

• 5:23Rachel Cruze?

It's very sad. That's our roast to you roasters.

• 5:26George Kamel?

  The roast of the roast.

• 5:27Rachel Cruze?

  All right. Okay, George.

• 5:28George Kamel?

Here's an investing critique. Someone felt this about me. This is a real comment. Imagine being so out of touch that you not only assume people have $1,000 a month to throw in a lockbox of savings that can't be accessed for 30 years, but you also assume you can get a 10% rate of return over those same 30 years. Delusional! I assume that's how they sound.

• 5:50Rachel Cruze?

It feels right, because here's the deal. Average car payment right now in America for a new car, it's like $732. So...

• 5:59George Kamel?

Yikes. And that's just one piece of debt that they may have.

• 6:02Rachel Cruze?

One piece of debt, yeah. But that's always gonna come back as my, like, comeback of like, "Okay, well, what are we paying out in payments versus paying ourselves?"

• 6:09George Kamel?

  Yes.

• 6:10Rachel Cruze?

Because debt is robbing you, literally. And for a lot of people, like, that's it. Now, $1,000 a month, yeah, that can feel like a lot, right?

• 6:19Rachel Cruze?

But again, when you look at the average stats of the average American and you cut out the debt and actually get out of debt, you're gonna have that money freed up.

• 6:27George Kamel?

That's right. So we're not assuming anything here. You know, I know people don't have a bunch of extra cash laying around to invest, and that's why it's step four in the Ramsey baby steps. Get out of debt first, get your emergency fund that will free up those payments that you're putting to lenders, and instead you can put in the stock market.

• 6:42Rachel Cruze?

And the 10% rate of return. I will come to bat for you all the time.

• 6:45George Kamel?

  Thank you.

• 6:45Rachel Cruze?

We have, okay, and again, the market is different every year.

• 6:48George Kamel?

Where are you getting 10% every year, Rachel?

• 6:50Rachel Cruze?

We had mutual funds, you guys, 18% last year, 18%.

• 6:54George Kamel?

  Yeah.

• 6:55Rachel Cruze?

And we say 12% sometimes, and everyone's like, oh my god.

• 6:57George Kamel?

Well, if you look at the S and P 500, the top, you know, largest 500 companies based on market cap, the S and P 500, which represents the overall US stock market, returned 23% last year.

• 7:09Rachel Cruze?

  Yes.

• 7:10George Kamel?

So you're like, where are they getting this? I don't know, just the general stock market.

• 7:13Rachel Cruze?

Just facts? Just like, what's happening out there?

• 7:15George Kamel?

And that's if you just track the stock market.

• 7:17Rachel Cruze?

And again, some years it's not as great, right?

• 7:19George Kamel?

  Some years it's negative 22%.

• 7:20Rachel Cruze?

It goes up and down, it goes up and down.

• 7:22George Kamel?

I guess we need to explain how an average works. Over a 10, 20, 30 year period of time, you can take the average annualized return.

• 7:29Rachel Cruze?

  Yes.

• 7:30George Kamel?

Which is 10 to 12%. There you go. And then it's not a locked vault. I don't like this idea. You can't access it for 30 years. Yes, there's retirement money. We want you to live in the meantime. You can also invest outside of that. You can save up for purchases. But what are you investing for other than the long term?

• 7:46Rachel Cruze?

  Yep.

• 7:46George Kamel?

So, I don't know, I don't know how to make you happy. I wish I knew.

• 7:52Rachel Cruze?

All right, here's a comment I got. A reality check, only 1% of Americans will ever be able to build wealth, and it's because they've inherited it.

• 8:01George Kamel?

  Oh, wow.

• 8:02Rachel Cruze?

So this stat, if it was correct, that would be very depressing, if only 1% of America could win with money. That would be very depressing. But it's not true.

• 8:11George Kamel?

Yeah, that's saying 1 out of every 100 people. will build wealth only because of inheritance. Everyone else will remain broke for the rest of their life.

• 8:19Rachel Cruze?

So according to the US Census Bureau, 65.6% of Americans currently own a home, which is a big deal because your home is adding to your net worth. The Federal Reserve said that more than half of Americans have retirement accounts. And as of November of 2023, employment in America reached an all time high of 161.9 million people working.

• 8:43George Kamel?

  All right.

• 8:44Rachel Cruze?

And we know that nine out of 10 millionaires today, 90% in America are first generation wealthy. Like, they became millionaires because of themselves, not because of inheritance. So it's actually the opposite of what this person's saying.

• 8:59George Kamel?

Clearly, this person's hurt and they feel like they can't build wealth themselves. Back to the hurt people hurt people. I wish I could just hug them and say, hey bud, we're going to show you how to build wealth.

• 9:08Rachel Cruze?

  You can do this.

• 9:09George Kamel?

You might be the first in your family, but you can do it.

• 9:11Rachel Cruze?

Our approach, I will always say, it does take levels of sacrifice depending on where you are. It's hard, right? I mean, the life is expensive, right? I'll say that too, that caveat. And this process is over a long period of time. It is not something that like, oh my gosh, you're 28 and suddenly when you're 32, everything's going to be great and dandy. No, this is you're building wealth over the long term. So it does take a level of patience and it's not as exciting and flashy, but it's steady, which is what we want.

• 9:38George Kamel?

Here's another one. Who cares about building wealth if all my personal info gets stolen online anyway? This is actually a very valid comment from Janice.

• 9:45Rachel Cruze?

I think so, very relevant in today's world.

• 9:48George Kamel?

Yeah. This is an easy answer. Delete me. Okay, this will protect you online. They find and remove your personal info from all these data broker sites who sell it for a profit so that you can have some peace of mind, sleep easy, and it reduces the risks of scam and fraud.

• 10:02Rachel Cruze?

Yes, because so much of our life is online right now, you guys. I mean, almost everything we do, we're online, we're filling out forms and we're just doing so much, whether we're buying or banking, whatever it is. And so making sure your personal info is off the internet. You do not want people to make money off of you and your information. That's what they're doing. They're literally buying, selling your data and it's like, not great, so.

• 10:25Rachel Cruze?

Get your data off the internet with Delete Me.

• 10:28George Kamel?

Check it out. Go to joindelete.me/smartmoney and you'll get 20% off any of their plans. And I love this. It saved me 77 hours already. My report, it shows me how much time I've saved. Feel pretty good about that. And I just got my parents on Delete Me. And they are loving it too. I'm trying to protect the boomers I love.

• 10:45Rachel Cruze?

Good for you. You're such a loving son.

• 10:47George Kamel?

You gotta look out for them.

• 10:48Rachel Cruze?

  Such a loving son.

• 10:49George Kamel?

All right, here's one about credit scores.

• 10:51Rachel Cruze?

  Ooh.

• 10:53George Kamel?

You and Dave Ramsey probably have a 500 credit score. Debt isn't a bad thing, especially if you need to build credit.

• 11:00Rachel Cruze?

  I love your...

• 11:01George Kamel?

  Okay.

• 11:02Rachel Cruze?

  No way you're reading these.

• 11:03George Kamel?

Why are you lumping in Dave into this one? Number one, guarantee you Dave doesn't have a credit score because he doesn't have debt, which is all a credit score manages. And I can tell you for a fact I don't have one because I check. Once a year for fun.

• 11:17Rachel Cruze?

  Oh.

• 11:17George Kamel?

It's one of my only hobbies.

• 11:18Rachel Cruze?

  Good for you.

• 11:19George Kamel?

I just go, yeah, let's see if I... Oh, still don't have one. Okay, cool.

• 11:23Rachel Cruze?

Keep on going. Keep on moving.

• 11:24George Kamel?

So here's the truth people need to understand. Once you pay off all of your debt, you have no open lines of credit, you pay off your mortgage, your credit score eventually disappears after about six or 12 months.

• 11:33Rachel Cruze?

Yep, and it's, yep. They basically can't determine it, is what it is. So like, they can't pull it. They're like, oh, there's no information here for it. And you're gonna live life and be totally okay. Yes, your credit score will be pulled for certain things in life. They might be maybe a job interview, sometimes for insurance, like those kind of things. And all you have to say out loud is, oh, I don't have a credit score because I don't borrow money. And usually if you're talking to a human, it's great. And then you can actually still get a house without a credit score. That's one of our biggest pushbacks through manual underwriting. And so it is possible to get a mortgage because it's the one type of debt we won't yell at you for.

• 12:07George Kamel?

And I've actually done this, so don't come at me with, but the rates... No, you don't know because you've never done it, okay? So maybe listen to a guy who actually did it, who can tell you it's not that difficult and the terms were equal to someone with a great credit score.

• 12:19Rachel Cruze?

  Yes.

• 12:20George Kamel?

Because I did a 15-year mortgage with 10% down at least, and you're gonna have great interest rates and great terms.

• 12:25Rachel Cruze?

That's good. Have we felt a little feisty?

• 12:27George Kamel?

  I am a little feisty.

• 12:28Rachel Cruze?

I know. I feel like we need to like take a breath, George, together.

• 12:30George Kamel?

  All right, less defensive.

• 12:32Rachel Cruze?

Yeah, we don't need to be this defensive. Everything's fine. We have a great life.

• 12:35George Kamel?

I just, it's because I just wish they knew what I knew.

• 12:39Rachel Cruze?

  Oh.

• 12:39George Kamel?

  It's out of love.

• 12:40Rachel Cruze?

  What a sage you are.

• 12:41George Kamel?

  Thank you.

• 12:42Rachel Cruze?

If only everyone had my knowledge in life. Everything would just be better.

• 12:47George Kamel?

That's okay, again, not the roast of George Kamel today. But thank you, that's true.

• 12:52Rachel Cruze?

Oh my gosh, I'm gonna have fun with this one. Get this kid, oh no, wait, this is about George. Oh man, George, I'm sorry.

• 13:01George Kamel?

They couldn't find any more mean comments to Rachel.

• 13:03Rachel Cruze?

This is a comment about George, oh, this is funny, here we go. Get this kid off drugs. Does he even know how much things actually cost today?

• 13:16George Kamel?

  Wow.

• 13:17Rachel Cruze?

  George, get off your drugs.

• 13:19George Kamel?

You're talking to a guy who knows prices like the back of his hand. And if, by drugs, do they mean vitamin A, vitamin B complex, vitamin C, vitamin D? Yeah, cuz I'm on those. Might even throw fish oil in there, get those omegas. Come at me, bro. You think I medicate, you should see me off my supplements. That's all I have to say about that. Okay, so, does he even know how much things actually cost today? Yes, I do.

• 13:44Rachel Cruze?

  You do, George, you do.

• 13:45George Kamel?

But what I won't stand for is people complaining all the time about how everything costs so much, and yet they're unwilling to do anything about it to cut their spending where they can, to control the controllables. Listen, I shop for eggs, I know what my eggs cost. I know what stores have the better egg prices. Do your research, and if you can't afford it, don't buy it, find the best alternative you can within your budget. Yes.

• 14:06Rachel Cruze?

  I have something to say.

• 14:07George Kamel?

  Lady in the gray sweater.

• 14:09Rachel Cruze?

You know what I think? I think this person, I'm gonna just like, take a stab at this. Cuz you know on the internet, this is all internet, right, world that we're living in here. And I think some people, cuz I know accounts out there, that just complain. And the accounts are like, oh my gosh, in 1983, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. And now today, blah, blah, blah, how are we supposed to, and, and, and, and. And that's all video.

• 14:31George Kamel?

That was a perfect summary of every one of those videos.

• 14:34Rachel Cruze?

And all they do is just that, like, that's it, that's, that's their whole account, is just that.

• 14:37George Kamel?

The movie theater was 50 cents back in the day, now it's 15 bucks, how was anyone supposed to go to the movies?

• 14:42Rachel Cruze?

Tuition, tuition was $53, and now it's $59,000, like, how are we, you know, whatever, whatever, like, and that's all the accounts are. Facts are correct, like, it's, it's fine. But again, all they're doing is just like, stating the facts, and then, that's it. And I think some people love that world. They wanna sit in the

• 15:00George Kamel?

  In the problem.

• 15:01Rachel Cruze?

Here's the, here's the problem, and now we're just gonna complain, and just, you know.

• 15:06George Kamel?

And if you offer up any solution that requires any level of sacrifice, screw you, man.

• 15:12Rachel Cruze?

  Yeah.

• 15:12George Kamel?

  It's hard times out here.

• 15:13Rachel Cruze?

Yeah, yeah, yeah. So I think this person-

• 15:15George Kamel?

Our entire job is to try to give solutions to problems.

• 15:18Rachel Cruze?

  I know, right.

• 15:18George Kamel?

It's called Ramsey Solutions. Not Ramsey Problems. That'd be a terrible company.

• 15:23Rachel Cruze?

Such a bad company. So, yeah, I think this, I think that comment about you, George, is somebody that would like an account that just complains.

• 15:30George Kamel?

  Yep.

• 15:31Rachel Cruze?

And when you give a solution, they don't like that.

• 15:34George Kamel?

Oh, finally, a comment about Rachel.

• 15:36Rachel Cruze?

  Oh, well-

• 15:37George Kamel?

  Can you handle this one?

• 15:38Rachel Cruze?

Maybe so with my Dr. Pepper.

• 15:41George Kamel?

  This one's pretty light, honestly.

• 15:43Rachel Cruze?

  Mm.

• 15:43George Kamel?

This has to do with a call that you and Ken Coleman took on The Ramsey Show regarding a Taylor Swift concert.

• 15:48Rachel Cruze?

  Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah.

• 15:50George Kamel?

"No way I would have gone to the Taylor Swift concert. Sell those tickets and keep moving with the baby steps, no matter what."

• 15:55Rachel Cruze?

  Wow. Dave?

• 15:57George Kamel?

Yeah. Is that Dave Ramsey chiming in with his burner account? So can you explain what you told the person on the call and what the context was?

• 16:04Rachel Cruze?

Okay, yeah. So that call, if I can remember correctly, was a mom that called in, and she had given her daughter Taylor Swift tickets. And this was during the heyday. So, um, the mom gave the daughter tickets, and now the mom's calling. It was like, should the daughter sell the tickets? Because she could make like a crazy amount of money.

• 16:22George Kamel?

  Because of resale?

• 16:23Rachel Cruze?

Yes, and pay off her debt with them. So our take was, that's up to your daughter. Like, if your daughter called and said, "I have these tickets. Should I sell them?", we could give you, you know, our opinion on that. But as the mom, you already gave the gift. Like, there's nothing you can do about it. Like, you can't tell her to sell them. Uh, and so we gave them permission to, like, go, because the daughter really wanted to go to the concert. So we're like, let her go to the concert. And a lot of people were like, yeah, not happy with that.

• 16:50George Kamel?

That she should have sold it and paid off the debt?

• 16:53Rachel Cruze?

Yes. And I think this is a classic example, um, of opportunity cost. Because you do think, because I think she could have told, I think she could have sold all the tickets for like- Fifteen grand or something crazy, I mean, right? And so you take that amount of money, go have a great night for five, six hours, which was a wonderful night, the Airs tour was amazing.

• 17:13George Kamel?

You've done this twice, so you can vouch.

• 17:15Rachel Cruze?

It was really good. So that, or if you had debt, how long would it take you? How many hours would it take to work to make fifteen grand? And that's a lot of hours, that's a lot of nights, a lot of days. And so do you give the opportunity costs, right? So, some people would say, absolutely. Why would you, yeah, I don't want to work all that extra time to pay off this debt. I could get this gone, you know, in a second with the sale of these tickets. But then also, you don't want to miss once in a lifetime event. What do you do, you know? So, I think it's all about if you want to have fun in life or not, George.

• 17:50George Kamel?

And Rachel is the first person to tell you, have fun in life.

• 17:53Rachel Cruze?

  Go enjoy your life.

• 17:54George Kamel?

And pay for quality experiences that will make memories.

• 17:57Rachel Cruze?

But getting out of debt, though, I do think from a long-term perspective, helps build your life in a better way.

• 18:03George Kamel?

And from a math perspective, you're like, this is crazy to not do. To not sell the tickets and get this much money and you made all this profit. But you can't look at it as a business transaction. You know, you bought the tickets in order to provide an experience for your daughter.

• 18:17Rachel Cruze?

  Right.

• 18:17George Kamel?

Not to create a spread to get out of debt.

• 18:20Rachel Cruze?

  Totally, that's right.

• 18:21George Kamel?

And that's my take, as a guy who would tell you, sell them.

• 18:24Rachel Cruze?

  Sell them.

• 18:25George Kamel?

All right. Let's do some rapid fire here. We have critiques of the Ramsey principles from time to time. And so we're going to take turns reading. The other has to respond in two sentences or less.

• 18:37Rachel Cruze?

Okay, but first, besides the Airs tour, what we were just talking about, something else that I have serious regrets on buying, Cozy Earth products.

• 18:44George Kamel?

  Hundred percent.

• 18:45Rachel Cruze?

  Love them.

• 18:45George Kamel?

That's an experience in and of itself.

• 18:47Rachel Cruze?

Y'all, can I just say, when you have clean sheets, it's one of my favorite days. When you wash your sheets, you know, you have, and it's, your bed's remade. It is like, with the best feeling. And it's even better when it's Cozy Earth sheets.

• 18:59George Kamel?

It's giving fancy hotel energy when you crawl into those sheets.

• 19:02Rachel Cruze?

I mean, you literally feel like you're on vacation or something. Like, you go in, you're like, oh my gosh, I cannot believe this is my bed. I love him, obsessed. Love the pajamas. They're some of my favorite pajamas that I own. And everything from like, I have a shirt, I have joggers. I have like, these like lounge pants, I have a robe.

• 19:19George Kamel?

  You've got the whole collection.

• 19:20Rachel Cruze?

I know, I bought a lot from them.

• 19:21George Kamel?

And the blanket, the epic blanket.

• 19:24Rachel Cruze?

Yes, ma'am, that is an epic blanket, for sure. But it's great. So Cozy Earth products, they are amazing and worth every penny.

• 19:31George Kamel?

So check it out. They're giving our listeners and viewers up to 40% off, a steep discount, if you go to cozylearth.com/smartmoney and use the promo code SMARTMONEY at checkout. We'll drop a link in the description as well.

• 19:43Rachel Cruze?

All right, let's do some rapid fire, George.

• 19:45George Kamel?

Here we go. Here's the comment.

• 19:47Rachel Cruze?

  Okay, here.

• 19:47George Kamel?

"You and your spouse can be on the same team while still not combining finances. My husband and I have had separate accounts for 10 years and it's working just fine." What do you say to that?

• 19:57Rachel Cruze?

Yeah, I mean, I would say it could feel like it's working, but there is an element of your relationship that you're not fully on board together. You're just not. I mean, it's like we have two completely different parenting styles and choose to parent our kids differently. And it's like you have to be on the same page. And so combining your accounts is a tactical way to show that. But ultimately, what it's doing, it's like, it's like the ultimate trust in each other of saying, no, we are all in together. This is our life together, not your life, my life. It's our life. And it's so much better that way. They're just so much more fun when you feel that versus like, eh, you pay that bill, I pay this bill.

• 20:28George Kamel?

Well, you're saying the goal shouldn't be just fine. That's how my marriage is going, Rachel. It's a sign we're doing real well.

• 20:34Rachel Cruze?

  That's right.

• 20:35George Kamel?

Everything's just fine, thanks for asking.

• 20:36Rachel Cruze?

Just fine. All right, George, you ready for this?

• 20:39George Kamel?

  Okay.

• 20:39Rachel Cruze?

"Charging hundreds of dollars for Financial Peace University is hypocritical when you're telling people to save money."

• 20:45George Kamel?

Oh, wow. Okay, coming at us. First of all, 95% of our content, including this show, completely free. And so when we take a bunch of information, package it, have a team around it, things cost money. All products and services cost money, and it's not hundreds of dollars, it's less than a hundred dollars. And it's totally worth it if that course gets you out of debt, changes your family tree, changes your life, helps you build wealth. It's the same reason people pay for a gym membership or for a personal trainer. Yeah, I can walk around the neighborhood and I might make some progress, but it's very different when someone teaches me exactly how to do the workout. Is there showing up with accountability over a period of time? That, to me, is worth every penny.

• 21:26Rachel Cruze?

For sure. And I would say when you pay for stuff, you're more likely to do it. I mean, that's real. I think that's real.

• 21:32George Kamel?

Here's one. Here's your turn to respond, Rachel. Here's the comment. "Absolutely no sympathy for emergencies? What are we supposed to do when a kid breaks an arm?" How cruel are you, Rachel?

• 21:45Rachel Cruze?

Wait, what, why don't I have sympathy for emergencies? I don't understand. Cause I tell you to save for them?

• 21:50George Kamel?

  This is the comment.

• 21:52Rachel Cruze?

Cause I tell them to save for emergencies?

• 21:54George Kamel?

I guess. This has absolutely no sympathy for emergencies. So what are you supposed to do when a kid breaks an arm?

• 22:00Rachel Cruze?

Well, yeah, take them to the hospital.

• 22:02George Kamel?

  It's a good first step.

• 22:03Rachel Cruze?

Yeah, I mean, make sure everything's fine. And then, yeah, you'll get a medical bill. And if you have your thousand dollar emergency fund in place, is what we say. And if you're getting out of debt, pause the debt snowball. Save up the money and you pay the medical bill.

• 22:15George Kamel?

Yes, and hopefully you have insurance to where this is not going to tank you.

• 22:18Rachel Cruze?

  Right, yeah, yeah, for sure.

• 22:19George Kamel?

Maybe you'll pay 20% of that bill, not 100%.

• 22:22Rachel Cruze?

  That's right, yep.

• 22:23George Kamel?

And you've had, I mean, sweet little Chuck Cruz, didn't he break his leg?

• 22:28Rachel Cruze?

  Chuck Cruz, Charles.

• 22:31George Kamel?

I call him Chuck. It's his aspirational name.

• 22:34Rachel Cruze?

He did, he broke his leg, y'all.

• 22:36George Kamel?

  And what did you do?

• 22:37Rachel Cruze?

Have we talked about this on the show, that I am not a good, like, medical mom? Like, I like see things like, y'all are fine, you're fine.

• 22:43George Kamel?

You told him he was totally fine and to suck it up.

• 22:46Rachel Cruze?

I didn't say suck it up, but I was like, he's fine. Winston had convinced me he's not fine. And sure enough, he was not. He broke his leg.

• 22:52George Kamel?

So you thought, oh, he just had a little sprain, you'll be all right, buddy, get up.

• 22:55Rachel Cruze?

Yeah, I was just like, when he was two years, two and a half years old. So I was like, he's fine, he's crying, but I'm sure it hurt. He fell off the slide, that hurts. And then Winston's like, he's not walking.

• 23:07Rachel Cruze?

  Just give it a minute.

• 23:08George Kamel?

Winston is like a human WebMD. The man is a genius. I see a kid not walking, I go, maybe that kid's not okay.

• 23:13Rachel Cruze?

  Yeah.

• 23:13George Kamel?

Rachel says, pull yourself up by your bootstraps.

• 23:15Rachel Cruze?

And I was like, oh, he's fine. And then staples in the back of the head for Amelia. And I didn't take her in either. And then Winston got home, he's like, this is really deep. I was like, is it? Winston, Winston took her.

• 23:27Rachel Cruze?

Terrible. I just don't know when things are like an emergency.

• 23:30George Kamel?

Yeah, I think you should stop assessing medical emergencies and just go ahead and call Winston immediately.

• 23:35Rachel Cruze?

I know, I know. I want to say those were the only two. You know what I don't do? Maybe this is my skin thing, rashes.

• 23:42George Kamel?

  You don't do rashes?

• 23:43Rachel Cruze?

I always take pictures of rashes. We'll always call the doctor for rashes.

• 23:46George Kamel?

  That's your one thing?

• 23:47Rachel Cruze?

  Yeah.

• 23:48George Kamel?

Broken leg, you're like, he'll probably fine.

• 23:49Rachel Cruze?

  Yeah, yeah.

• 23:49George Kamel?

A little rash, you're like, nope, emergency.

• 23:51Rachel Cruze?

Bones and blood, fevers, I'm like, y'all are fine. A rash? What's this thing?

• 23:55George Kamel?

And you're not touching it? Just a photo?

• 23:57Rachel Cruze?

Oh, no, I'm all in there.

• 23:59George Kamel?

  Zooming in with a 3X?

• 23:59Rachel Cruze?

No, I'm all in there. I'm a mom, I'm all in there. Stuff to throw up, do it all. It's great. I'm all in there.

• 24:04George Kamel?

  Respect.

• 24:04Rachel Cruze?

But I do freak out over that stuff. Not freak out, but I am like, I don't like that.

• 24:08George Kamel?

  That's when you Google it?

• 24:10Rachel Cruze?

  Yeah, terrible.

• 24:11George Kamel?

  Dangerous game.

• 24:12Rachel Cruze?

Oh, man. Why are you, why are you so terrible with emergencies?

• 24:16George Kamel?

  I would never do-

• 24:18Rachel Cruze?

Why are, why do you have no sympathy for emergencies?

• 24:20George Kamel?

I have all of the sympathy. But I think, I guess if we wanted to retort, you know, the $1,000 emergency fund, we get flack for, because people say it's not enough.

• 24:28Rachel Cruze?

  Yes, we do get that.

• 24:29George Kamel?

It wasn't enough 30 years ago when Dave Ramsey came up with this, and the reason he did it was because he was telling people immediately, "Go get out of debt, go get out of debt." They'd have one little ankle biter emergency and it would throw them off course from getting out of debt.

• 24:40Rachel Cruze?

  Yep.

• 24:40George Kamel?

So he decided, "Well, we need some buffer between you and life that can cover the little things, not the big things." So if there was a big thing, over $1,000, pause the baby steps, stack up cash, sell whatever you can.

• 24:51Rachel Cruze?

  Yep.

• 24:51George Kamel?

But the truth is, most people don't have 10 grand laying around that were telling them to throw a debt.

• 24:56Rachel Cruze?

And the truth is, if you wanted to save up three months before you started getting out of debt, it would take you so long. Like, there is something to be said about like, just getting to it.

• 25:04George Kamel?

  A quick win.

• 25:04Rachel Cruze?

Get to it. Like, snap, snap. Get to it.

• 25:06George Kamel?

  Thank you. Well said.

• 25:07Rachel Cruze?

All right, next, George. Last one. Try living in any metropolitan area for just $100,000. Budgeting is impossible if the income isn't high enough. Can I say this?

• 25:20George Kamel?

  Please.

• 25:21Rachel Cruze?

Yes. So you can't afford to live there.

• 25:25George Kamel?

Living whatever life you want in New York City, $100,000? I don't think you can do whatever you want.

• 25:31Rachel Cruze?

And I don't think you may, you may not be able to afford it.

• 25:33George Kamel?

  Yeah.

• 25:33Rachel Cruze?

So you can't live there. Like, do you know what I mean? Like, that was like a hard reality. That's what we had to learn. It's like, when we moved, it was like, okay, yeah. What do you, like, when we moved to Nashville, it's like, what area can we afford?

• 25:42George Kamel?

In the Constitution, it says, "You can live in any city you want and money won't be an issue."

• 25:47Rachel Cruze?

  I know.

• 25:47George Kamel?

  It's my American right.

• 25:48Rachel Cruze?

Man, why am I getting all sassy, George?

• 25:50George Kamel?

Little Miss Defensive Range. I love this energy. No, but the truth is now, could I figure out how to live anywhere on $100,000? Absolutely. It might take having two roommates.

• 26:03Rachel Cruze?

  I was gonna say.

• 26:03George Kamel?

And living further out of town.

• 26:04Rachel Cruze?

Yeah, yeah, yeah. It would be a tough.

• 26:05George Kamel?

And not eating out and going out and living the lifestyle.

• 26:07Rachel Cruze?

Like in New York, you mean?

• 26:08George Kamel?

Metropolitan city. Yeah. So you can make it. Let me tell you, go to New York City. A lot of people don't make $100,000 and they're making it. Now, what I will say, if you're strapped with debt payments and trying to live this lifestyle, you're never gonna make it, no matter how much you make. You can, lifestyle creep your way out of it. But if you can get out of debt, have an emergency fund, you can learn how to live off $100,000. I mean, that is a great salary, even in today's world, and you can make that work, depending on what lifestyle you're aiming for.

• 26:37Rachel Cruze?

We are finding that people are moving out of big cities and going to more like suburbs outside so that they can enjoy their life more. And I will say it.

• 26:44George Kamel?

  Yeah.

• 26:44Rachel Cruze?

Not to throw them under the bus. LA, we had a lot of calls on the Ramsey Show that are Southern California and people are moving out.

• 26:51George Kamel?

  It's getting out of control.

• 26:52Rachel Cruze?

Because they can't, they can't enjoy life because it is so expensive. So people do find.

• 26:56George Kamel?

And taxes just crush you over there. Versus Tennessee, no state income tax.

• 27:00Rachel Cruze?

Yes. So there is this point of like, we're gonna choose to move somewhere different, maybe make the same amount because it's a remote job, but we have more money.

• 27:08George Kamel?

  Higher quality of life.

• 27:08Rachel Cruze?

To use to like go do stuff and have fun. Like that is, that's true.

• 27:12George Kamel?

So rarely are you stuck where you are. You can move. I have moved across the country to be here. And so I'm telling you, you're not stuck where you are. You have to make a choice.

• 27:20Rachel Cruze?

  Yep.

• 27:21George Kamel?

  That's right for you.

• 27:21Rachel Cruze?

Yep. So I think some of the takeaways are, it's easy to get defensive, as George and I displayed on today's episode. But also defensive just about the reality of life, the advice sometimes. But there is a, they're like, there's a part of being an adult George with money that like, you just kinda like rubber meets the road. Like we don't, don't get to like live like.

• 27:41George Kamel?

What we do is we show people reality. And sometimes the reality of their situation hurts to look in that financial mirror. But we're doing that so that we can take you to where you want to go.

• 27:51Rachel Cruze?

  That's right, yes.

• 27:51George Kamel?

  Not to just shame you.

• 27:52Rachel Cruze?

  Yep.

• 27:53George Kamel?

So I think you have to drop, there's a lot of shame and baggage that comes with a lot of these comments. The context we don't have, which is, well, I grew up a certain way. I made mistakes. I feel like I'll never climb out of this.

• 28:03Rachel Cruze?

And have a hard situation, right? Sometimes life just deals you a really hard deck. And like, that is true too. So, um, yeah, I don't know. I think, I think one of the biggest things early on is that mindset shift to. All right. I'm gonna grow up, face reality about my money, and figure it out.

• 28:19George Kamel?

Here's my final thought. A lot of the comments have to do with things that are outside of that person's control. And let me tell you, it is easy to get angry about things that are outside of your control. That's most of life, most of the world. The people who win, the people who have success, the people who have happiness, focus on what they can control, which is a very short, simple list. What you can control is your money, the way you spend it, you taking on debt, the way you budget. All of those things are in your control. And I find those people aren't in the comment section. They're too busy living their life.

• 28:49Rachel Cruze?

They're not there. They don't have the energy.

• 28:50George Kamel?

  Yeah.

• 28:51Rachel Cruze?

To comment there, no. No, well said, though, George, well said.

• 28:54George Kamel?

  Thank you.

• 28:55Rachel Cruze?

Um, all right. Before we get to guilty as charged, uh, tell us about the old professor.

• 29:00George Kamel?

The professor. Uh, I think I'm, am I closer? I'm over halfway.

• 29:05Rachel Cruze?

Uh, no, I still have half.

• 29:07George Kamel?

Okay. I might be beating you on this one. What rating would you give the professor?

• 29:13Rachel Cruze?

  Six out of 10?

• 29:15George Kamel?

  I was gonna go five.

• 29:16Rachel Cruze?

  Yeah.

• 29:16George Kamel?

It's a five out of 10 for me. I've had much worse.

• 29:19Rachel Cruze?

  Yep.

• 29:19George Kamel?

And here's what I'll say about this drink after I give you the ingredients, which is a can of Dr. Pepper. You need the can. I don't know how much Dr. Pepper is actually in here, because clearly some was emptied out to make the drink. It's got whiskey, rum, cherry liqueur, and lemon juice.

• 29:35Rachel Cruze?

  Oh, okay.

• 29:36George Kamel?

All up in there. And so the drink comes out to $6.60.

• 29:39Rachel Cruze?

  Good, nice.

• 29:40George Kamel?

Because there's a lot of ingredients, including multiple alcohols.

• 29:44Rachel Cruze?

The professor, the doctor. Getting a doctorate is expensive.

• 29:48George Kamel?

There we go. It's an expensive drink. I think we've come full circle now.

• 29:51Rachel Cruze?

  All the way around.

• 29:52George Kamel?

This drink went to med school, and it wants you to know.

• 29:54Rachel Cruze?

  And it...

• 29:56George Kamel?

  So there you go. $6.60.

• 29:58Rachel Cruze?

  Debt along with it.

• 29:59George Kamel?

If you are feeling risky, you can make the drink. And fun fact, you can take a can opener and remove the entire top of the can to make this drink. I did not know you could do that. I wasn't on Pinterest enough to learn.

• 30:11Rachel Cruze?

Learn something new every day, George.

• 30:12George Kamel?

The drink recipes in the show notes. Give it a try this weekend if you're a fan of Dr. Pepper. I think it tastes like a, like if a Chick-fil-A drink got watered down with all the ice, and then you just kind of poured some booze in it and went to your kid's soccer game. Very specific scenario. I know you've been there. That's the energy it's giving.

• 30:32Rachel Cruze?

George, no. That's funny, though. Funny take. I appreciate that.

• 30:37George Kamel?

Do you go to all the games? I'm just curious.

• 30:39Rachel Cruze?

  Yes, yes.

• 30:41George Kamel?

  You're a great mom.

• 30:42Rachel Cruze?

They're fun. And we dog on kids' sports a lot. They are fun, though.

• 30:46George Kamel?

Do you get into it? Are you the mom yelling on the sidelines?

• 30:49Rachel Cruze?

  I'm a yeller, but I'm an encourager. There's something, there's, I will say.

• 30:54George Kamel?

  Two types of loud moms.

• 30:56Rachel Cruze?

This may be too fresh, because it's currently happening as we're recording this, like, in my life. There are certain, there are yellers at the refs, parents, which, we don't need to yell at the refs. And then you got the, you got the parents critiquing. Get open! You know, they're yelling. You know what I yell? Good job, girls! Let's go, cheetahs!

• 31:18George Kamel?

  That's so cute.

• 31:20Rachel Cruze?

  The golden cheetahs.

• 31:21George Kamel?

  The golden cheetahs?

• 31:23Rachel Cruze?

They name themselves. Anyways, that's my, I'm a yeller, but I'm, it's always...

• 31:28George Kamel?

  Always positive.

• 31:29Rachel Cruze?

Oh, yeah. I'm like, girls, great pass, great pass!

• 31:31George Kamel?

Are there really parents just yelling at the refs?

• 31:34Rachel Cruze?

Oh, double team, ref! That's a double team! They're nine!

• 31:39George Kamel?

Also, they should be the ref. Can't anyone do this, pretty much?

• 31:42Rachel Cruze?

No, they hire, like, well, I say legitimate. No, I think you do have to have, like...

• 31:46George Kamel?

There's some training. I'm not saying, hey, the refs are great. I'm just saying, these are not like professional sports refs.

• 31:52Rachel Cruze?

  No, but they're not parents.

• 31:53George Kamel?

  Yeah.

• 31:54Rachel Cruze?

Like, they legitimately, like, yeah, they're calling plays.

• 31:56George Kamel?

But I've heard it's a good side hustle, which is why I ask.

• 31:57Rachel Cruze?

  It is.

• 31:58George Kamel?

That people can jump in and become a ref and get paid, you know, I don't know, 50, 75 bucks a game?

• 32:02Rachel Cruze?

Yeah, and y'all, it is so fun. I love it.

• 32:05George Kamel?

  Can't wait.

• 32:05Rachel Cruze?

  I know.

• 32:06George Kamel?

  I'll be there.

• 32:07Rachel Cruze?

  You will. You really do.

• 32:08George Kamel?

  I'll be the encourager.

• 32:09Rachel Cruze?

And do the rec. I'll go on the John Deloney rant, like, you don't have to go travel sports crazy.

• 32:13George Kamel?

  Yep.

• 32:13Rachel Cruze?

But just like having some competition for the kids where they're part of a team, I mean, it is so, it's so sweet. And the girls, I'm partial, but they're so cute.

• 32:22George Kamel?

I would be yell screaming, encouraging those girls.

• 32:24Rachel Cruze?

They got their little skirts on, their little bows, and they're just dribbling down the court. It's adorable.

• 32:28George Kamel?

Doing the most. I would encourage only because I don't know what's going on in the game to even have any, like...

• 32:33Rachel Cruze?

What's one sport you hope Mia plays? If you had to pick one. I know you wanted to skateboard.

• 32:37George Kamel?

None of them, honestly. I mean, the one that damages your body and self-esteem the least? Is that fair to say as a girl dad? Is that fair? That's honest.

• 32:47Rachel Cruze?

  Okay.

• 32:48George Kamel?

Like ballet. I've heard like your feet are gonna get mangled doing ballet. Like that it will destroy you. And you're like, the way you have to keep your body, like that just worries me.

• 32:57Rachel Cruze?

Yeah, that's a lot of pressure.

• 32:58George Kamel?

  You know?

• 32:59Rachel Cruze?

  Yeah.

• 32:59George Kamel?

Uh, my wife did, she was like on the Arkansas cheer team, Palm Squad.

• 33:04Rachel Cruze?

  No way!

• 33:05George Kamel?

So like somebody that like dance, but not, you're not getting like thrown 80 feet in the air.

• 33:08Rachel Cruze?

  Okay.

• 33:08George Kamel?

  So very like-

• 33:09Rachel Cruze?

  Safety?

• 33:09George Kamel?

  Yes.

• 33:10Rachel Cruze?

  Okay.

• 33:11George Kamel?

That would be something I'm okay with.

• 33:12Rachel Cruze?

  No soccer, no basketball?

• 33:14George Kamel?

Soccer's probably the best. I feel like there's, I mean, basketball maybe. I don't see her being a baller, just based on height and athletic ability. I think she's gonna be more of a violinist or something, you know? More in the creative artsy world.

• 33:28Rachel Cruze?

  I love that.

• 33:28George Kamel?

But hey, anything goes. Anything goes.

• 33:31Rachel Cruze?

All right, now it's time for Guilty as Charged. And this is where our producer Kelly gives us a new Guilty as Charged question every week. And if we're guilty, we take a sip. Kelly?

• 33:40Speaker 02

All right. Have you ever responded to a hater?

• 33:43Rachel Cruze?

  Mmm.

• 33:46George Kamel?

Oh, when? Today? Yesterday? Four minutes? I think I responded while I was sitting here.

• 33:51Rachel Cruze?

  Mmm.

• 33:52George Kamel?

I do this way more than Rachel. A recent one, okay, let me give you a good story quick and then a bad story.

• 33:57Rachel Cruze?

Oh, I love it. Love George hater stories.

• 33:59George Kamel?

Good story. I decided this new strategy where I kill them with kindness. So this person, I don't know, blasted me in an Instagram comment. So here's what I do. I go to their profile to see if there's anything interesting I can talk about. And they were a great photographer. Like I was genuinely impressed by their photography skills.

• 34:15Rachel Cruze?

  Yeah.

• 34:15George Kamel?

Beautiful photos. So I just responded with, hey, just, you know, I think your photography is really great. To their very negative comment.

• 34:23Rachel Cruze?

  George!

• 34:24George Kamel?

So what happens is the algorithm, because people started replying to that, it started pushing it to the top.

• 34:30Rachel Cruze?

  Yeah.

• 34:30George Kamel?

So at the very top of this post was their negative comment followed by my super positive-

• 34:35Rachel Cruze?

  And you look so kind.

• 34:36George Kamel?

And I look like a hero. I am, I mean, give me a Medal of Honor for that performance. It was just-

• 34:42Rachel Cruze?

And are people like, George, you're so great. George, did you love it?

• 34:46George Kamel?

I loved it. Let me tell you.

• 34:49Rachel Cruze?

  I can idiom for you.

• 34:49George Kamel?

Okay, let me read you the one that went-

• 34:51Rachel Cruze?

  Oh, I can't wait.

• 34:52George Kamel?

  You ready for this?

• 34:53Rachel Cruze?

  Oh, I cannot wait.

• 34:54George Kamel?

They go into, "We both know credit cards are more secure. There's obviously value to building your credit in this country. Rewards are free money." Meck, meck, meck, meck, meck. Here we go. But it's also super one-sided and I would bet my house that you guys use credit cards just like I do, pay them every month like clockwork. My response? You bet your house that I use credit cards? Bet. I show my credit report and you must transfer the deed of your house in my name. Otherwise, delete all of your comments and stop trolling. You have until 12:00 PM Central Time to accept, otherwise blocked.

• 35:27George Kamel?

You know what his response was? Dodging all the facts that credit cards are obviously a great tool. Don't worry, I'll take care of the block. It's giving, no, you know what? I'm gonna break up with you first. That's the energy it gave and I was elated.

• 35:42Rachel Cruze?

  Oh my gosh.

• 35:43George Kamel?

Cause best case, I own a house.

• 35:45Rachel Cruze?

Yeah, you got a house on the deal.

• 35:47George Kamel?

  It's the best-case scenario.

• 35:48Rachel Cruze?

  Yeah, you can comment.

• 35:49George Kamel?

Worst-case, I get blocked by some random dude on Instagram.

• 35:53Rachel Cruze?

My favorite is like, unfollow, unfollow, and you go and you're like, oh, they haven't unfollowed? Like, they're still following you?

• 35:58George Kamel?

They're like, hate follow. Okay, what's your story?

• 36:01Rachel Cruze?

Oh my gosh, that's so funny. Um, I responded to somebody about Dave, my dad.

• 36:06George Kamel?

  You defended Dave's honor?

• 36:08Rachel Cruze?

Cause I usually take, I mean, I can take a lot. Like, I hear everything. And this one comment, it was basic, it was about real estate. And they're like, he has no idea what he's talking about. And I was like, oh.

• 36:21George Kamel?

You can say a lot of things.

• 36:22Rachel Cruze?

I was like, you know, oh no, oh shoot. He's owned like 500 properties over the course of his life. I mean, he like went into foreclosure on half of them and went bankrupt. But like, Dave knows, like if Dave didn't do what he's doing now, he would just be doing real estate. And like, like I'm like, oh gosh, no. Like, you could say that about a lot of things about him. Like, oh, he doesn't know about golf. Like, he golfs, yeah, he may not know everything about, like, but I'm like, oh no, that's like the one thing, like, you can't say it.

• 36:48George Kamel?

So you literally said, oh no, you didn't.

• 36:49Rachel Cruze?

And it was so early in the morning too, y'all, I remember. And I was like, and I wrote this whole thing and I just sent it. And then after, I was like, that was so stupid. Why did I, cause it wasn't even on my page. It was some like thing that came up and then underneath, it was a blasting Dave Ramsey reel. And I responded to it.

• 37:06George Kamel?

  Wow.

• 37:06Rachel Cruze?

  I know.

• 37:06George Kamel?

  Is it still out there?

• 37:07Rachel Cruze?

  That's so funny.

• 37:08George Kamel?

  You didn't delete it?

• 37:09Rachel Cruze?

Probably. Probably it was like two years ago.

• 37:11George Kamel?

  Wow.

• 37:11Rachel Cruze?

But I usually don't ever, yeah, I usually don't respond. And I don't look either, very often.

• 37:16George Kamel?

  You don't?

• 37:17Rachel Cruze?

Uh, cause I think Reddit is like the really bad place to go.

• 37:20George Kamel?

Sure, there's a lot of just

• 37:22Rachel Cruze?

  I know.

• 37:23George Kamel?

  angry people out there.

• 37:24Rachel Cruze?

  Yeah.

• 37:25George Kamel?

But I'm proud of you. Two years ago, that's a win.

• 37:28Rachel Cruze?

  I know.

• 37:28George Kamel?

I'm like, well, pick a day and I'll tell you what comments I left.

• 37:30Rachel Cruze?

There was a girl that blasted me who has a big following. I didn't know where people were sending me her stuff cause she like blasted me in a reel, cause I'm Dave's daughter and like, oh, which I get. And I still wouldn't be like, ah, women supporting women. Like I wanted to give like a little like

• 37:45George Kamel?

  Super passive aggressive?

• 37:46Rachel Cruze?

So passive aggressive, but I didn't.

• 37:48George Kamel?

I wish you were that petty. Honestly, sometimes I think you're too nice and too like, oh, but maybe they had a bad day.

• 37:54Rachel Cruze?

They could have had a bad day.

• 37:55George Kamel?

Or maybe they're a terrible person.

• 37:56Rachel Cruze?

Or maybe I'm gonna take their house. That's what George is gonna do. Leave people homeless.

• 38:01George Kamel?

I thought this is the greatest game show ever. If I win a house out of this comment and this guy follows through cause he has integrity, it'll be the greatest story of all time.

• 38:09Rachel Cruze?

  That'd be so funny.

• 38:09George Kamel?

Like, how'd you get that house? Yeah, I just left a comment.

• 38:12Rachel Cruze?

  Just got the deed.

• 38:13George Kamel?

  I wanna bet.

• 38:14Rachel Cruze?

I don't know. No, don't know how it happened.

• 38:16George Kamel?

  Oh, that's fun.

• 38:29Rachel Cruze?

Me too, George. Are we so millennials?

• 38:31George Kamel?

I'm on X and Facebook, but I'm like, I go there to just see what the other side is doing. Instagram are my people.

• 38:37Rachel Cruze?

  Yeah, I agree with you.

• 38:37George Kamel?

Millennials is what I'm talking about.
