• 0:05George Kamel?

Today, we are calling out some financial double standards.

• 0:09Rachel Cruze?

It's like a $2,000 furniture piece. One of these moments in life that you're like, it doesn't make sense. If you want money and want to win with money, is it because you want safety? Or is it so that you can live like a status life?

• 0:26Rachel Cruze?

  Hey guys, I'm Rachel Cruz.

• 0:28George Kamel?

  I'm George Kamel.

• 0:30Rachel Cruze?

  And this is?

• 0:31George Kamel?

  Smart Money Happy Hour.

• 0:38Rachel Cruze?

Well, this is the show where two friends who happen to be money experts talk about what you're talking about. So everything from pop culture, current events, and to money.

• 0:45George Kamel?

We're sipping on the illustrious citrus, cardamom, coffee, spritzer, mocktail. So many words for a drink that should be in prison.

• 0:56George Kamel?

We will give you our rating, which spoiler, not gonna be good, and reveal the cost per glass at the end of the episode. So stick around. You're gonna wanna be here for this sentencing.

• 1:06Rachel Cruze?

That's right. Good. Okay, so George, you know, we talk about personal finance for a living, and we really try not to be judgmental, because we get people from all, all different situations and stories and, you know, it's a whole thing. And so we do try to be curious, right? As Ted Lasso would say.

• 1:23George Kamel?

  Be curious, not judgmental.

• 1:24Rachel Cruze?

Which I think was a Walt Whitman quote originally.

• 1:27George Kamel?

You're telling me that Jason Sudeikis didn't come up with that on the spot?

• 1:31Rachel Cruze?

I think I actually quoted Walt Whitman in the episode, but yeah, yeah, we're not gonna, yeah, be curious, not judgmental. It's a great phrase, so.

• 1:39George Kamel?

You had a curious moment recently.

• 1:41Rachel Cruze?

  Um, yes, I did. Yeah.

• 1:44George Kamel?

Apparently I'm letting you know for the first time.

• 1:48Rachel Cruze?

  No, I remember.

• 1:49George Kamel?

Well, yes, in fact, I did. Thank you for bringing it up. What happened here?

• 1:53Rachel Cruze?

Well, it's just funny. I am in a certain text group, shall we say. You know, they'll be like, oh, hey, here's this, you know. Dresser for free if anyone wants to come pick it up. And it's from, you know, and they give the link and everything. And it's like a $2,000 furniture piece. So they're like, yeah, just come get it. Like, we're done with it. And you're like, oh, my gosh. But then they're like nickel and diamond. And, you know, like vitamins for $12. You know, if you want to get this for $12. And I'm like, this is so funny to me because they give away like thousands of dollars an item.

• 2:26George Kamel?

But the vitamins they're charging for.

• 2:27Rachel Cruze?

But then something else they'll just like charge for. And I'm like, I don't know, maybe like something is in their psyche or in them. I don't know. But it's always funny to me that I'm like, if you're gonna make money, like make it off the dresser. Right? That you're gonna get

• 2:39George Kamel?

  Yeah.

• 2:39Rachel Cruze?

  Thousands of dollars for.

• 2:41George Kamel?

So therein lies the double standard of like, why would you make this free? But make the $10 item

• 2:46Rachel Cruze?

Yeah. So again, it's one of these moments in life that you're like, that just doesn't, it doesn't make sense. It doesn't make sense. And so there's a lot of that in this world.

• 2:54George Kamel?

That was the, the birth of this episode.

• 2:56Rachel Cruze?

Because I feel it a lot in my life. I'll do things that I'm like, oh, yeah, I'll pay for this. And then they charge me $1.99 to subscribe to a podcast to get all the episodes. I'm like, I will not. But I'll go and spend freaking like, I don't know, $30 to get my food delivered to my house for one night. You know, and it just, it doesn't make, it doesn't make sense. So there's a lot of that out there in the world.

• 3:17George Kamel?

We're gonna get into that. And, you know, humans are imperfect after the fall of man. Look it up, by the way. Good story.

• 3:26George Kamel?

Trying to make my mom happy. She's in the crowd. I'm like, my mom happy. Look up the fall of man. Dark stuff, but helpful information.

• 3:36George Kamel?

We have natural tendencies as humans

• 3:37Rachel Cruze?

  Hypocrisy there too.

• 3:38George Kamel?

That are contradictory. All right, we are contradictory beings, but being intentional about this is how we grow. So we're gonna get into that today. And you talk about natural money tendencies in your book, Know Yourself, Know Your Money, which one of your best, can I just say?

• 3:51Rachel Cruze?

Oh, thanks, George. Yeah, but I do think understanding yourself, because it can maybe help explain some of the hypocrisy that we live in. Uh, because some of these, yeah, natural tendencies, real quick, spender versus saver. What are you?

• 4:06George Kamel?

  I am the saver.

• 4:07Rachel Cruze?

I'm a spender. Are you a nerd or a free spirit?

• 4:10George Kamel?

  The nerd.

• 4:10Rachel Cruze?

I'm a free spirit. Uh, experiences? Do you spend money on experiences or actual things?

• 4:15George Kamel?

  I think I'm a things person.

• 4:16Rachel Cruze?

Alright, I'm an experience person. George, we're so opposite. Uh, are you quality? Get something very nice, or you want a bunch of little things, a quantity?

• 4:23George Kamel?

  Quality.

• 4:24Rachel Cruze?

  Quantity for me.

• 4:26George Kamel?

  Oh my gosh.

• 4:27Rachel Cruze?

If you want money and want to win with money, is it because you want safety? Feeling like, okay, I know I'm gonna be okay? Or is it so that you can live like a status life? Not status in a shallow way, but in a sense of like, we get to go on the fun trip, we get to buy the fun car? Why do you want to win with money?

• 4:42George Kamel?

I think I'm a safety person. I think I'm a very cautious, you know, anxious type personality. How about you?

• 4:48Rachel Cruze?

  I'm status.

• 4:50George Kamel?

  We're perfectly opposite.

• 4:51Rachel Cruze?

We are, oh my gosh. Uh, abundance or scarcity mindset?

• 4:56George Kamel?

  I think I'm scarcity.

• 4:58Rachel Cruze?

  Okay, I'm abundance.

• 4:59George Kamel?

  Wow, this is perfect.

• 5:01Rachel Cruze?

Okay, and if you're giving, is there ever a situation that you're like, oh yes, you love to give spontaneously? You hear about something, you're like, absolutely, I'm gonna, let's just give some money here? Or do you wanna like, research the organization and make sure it's very methodical and it's real? And it's legitimate, you're not getting scammed?

• 5:16George Kamel?

  You had me at research.

• 5:17Rachel Cruze?

  Okay.

• 5:18George Kamel?

So I'm a, I would say I'm a plan giver, but I still have some spontaneous giving in the budget. But my natural tendency, planned.

• 5:25Rachel Cruze?

Okay, I'm spontaneous. And you know what people will appreciate? The Valentine's episode we had our spouses, you were literally Winston in so many ways. And I am Whitney in so many ways.

• 5:34George Kamel?

  What an honor.

• 5:35Rachel Cruze?

  You know?

• 5:37George Kamel?

  Just call me Lil Winston.

• 5:40George Kamel?

You know, Winston Ju-, Winnie Junior. I'll take that. I've always thought we're so similar, except for how we look, how successful we are, the things that we do, the hobbies, no, I'm kidding.

• 5:53Rachel Cruze?

  George, no.

• 5:53George Kamel?

  We're very similar.

• 5:54Rachel Cruze?

But hey, you and I, absolute opposites.

• 5:56George Kamel?

  Absolute.

• 5:57Rachel Cruze?

You know, that's why we make good, you know, good partners on the show.

• 6:00George Kamel?

  Absolutely nothing in common.

• 6:01Rachel Cruze?

You know, it's like Regis and Kathy Lee?

• 6:03George Kamel?

  I am your Regis.

• 6:04Rachel Cruze?

I know, or Kelly and Ryan?

• 6:07George Kamel?

  Hmm.

• 6:10George Kamel?

I'm over, I love Regis. He was everything.

• 6:12Rachel Cruze?

  He was great.

• 6:13George Kamel?

Rest in peace. You didn't know that. I just broke that news to you. Oh my gosh. Yeah.

• 6:19Rachel Cruze?

  He did pass it.

• 6:20George Kamel?

  He did.

• 6:20Rachel Cruze?

  Aw, man.

• 6:22George Kamel?

Rest in peace, King. Kathie Lee, still with us.

• 6:25Rachel Cruze?

Can I tell you, one of my core memories of a child is, um, Who Wants to be a Millionaire? We were all obsessed with that show. You remember when that season came out? Everyone in America watched it.

• 6:35George Kamel?

  Yeah.

• 6:36Rachel Cruze?

And the guy that won the first million dollars, when he had the last question, he phoned a friend, called his dad, just to tell his dad he was gonna win a million dollars.

• 6:43George Kamel?

That was the most baller move on television.

• 6:45Rachel Cruze?

Ever. And I watched it live, y'all. I mean, it was the biggest deal.

• 6:49George Kamel?

Our kids will never understand. They'll be like, "Well, I can watch it on YouTube." I'm like, "It's not the same."

• 6:53Rachel Cruze?

No, it's not the same. But Regis, man, what a national treasure.

• 6:56George Kamel?

Yeah. But yeah, I think Regis would have the same personality type as me.

• 6:59Rachel Cruze?

  You are 100% Regis.

• 7:00George Kamel?

I am older than I seem.

• 7:02Rachel Cruze?

  It is true.

• 7:03George Kamel?

  Old soul.

• 7:03Rachel Cruze?

It is true. Yep. But listen, when it comes to us and our tendencies in life, um, there is the double standard, you know? We can, we could be all these tendencies, but yet the way we spend and experience money may not make sense to everyone.

• 7:17George Kamel?

Make it make sense. That's the theme of this episode. So we have some confessions from our team, from someone we found online, but all of them are incredibly entertaining and a little too relatable.

• 7:28Rachel Cruze?

Very much so. So, uh, we have little paddles, George, for us. If you're watching, oh, that's my phone. Got these paddles. If you're watching on video, uh, and we'd say, I, yeah, no, would not do this or would be guilty.

• 7:41George Kamel?

And remember, you have to show the camera the answer you want. Don't show it to yourself.

• 7:45Rachel Cruze?

And we'll, and we'll say it out loud for those of you just listening on podcasts as well.

• 7:48George Kamel?

Okay, play along with us at home and drop your own money contradictions in the comments, because it is highly entertaining, if nothing else.

• 7:55Rachel Cruze?

All right. Um, first up, refuses to buy a bottle of wine at Trader Joe's for more than $10.99, but will happily pay $17 for a margarita at a rooftop bar.

• 8:07George Kamel?

  This is my toxic trait.

• 8:10Rachel Cruze?

Um, no, I would buy the wine at Trader Joe's and buy the margarita.

• 8:13George Kamel?

Oh, you're... This isn't improv. It's not yes and. It's...

• 8:18Rachel Cruze?

  Okay.

• 8:19George Kamel?

You know, it's like, are you at risk for falling for this? Would you, are you this person? You're not guilty of this.

• 8:24Rachel Cruze?

  No, I would do both.

• 8:25George Kamel?

  Do you both?

• 8:25Rachel Cruze?

  Yeah.

• 8:26George Kamel?

Yeah, for some reason Trader Joe's like, "Ooh, $8? There's a $7 bottle. Looks mighty fine." Like, I'm just, why am I doing this?

• 8:33Rachel Cruze?

  You're nitpicking a dollar, too.

• 8:34George Kamel?

But I will pay good money for a high-end cocktail at a cocktail bar.

• 8:38Rachel Cruze?

  Yep, that's fine.

• 8:38George Kamel?

So therefore, this is my toxic trait.

• 8:41Rachel Cruze?

  Yep.

• 8:41George Kamel?

All right, our next one. Squeezes out the last bit of toothpaste for a solid week and a half, but throws away a full bottle of face cream if unable to see results in three days.

• 8:52Rachel Cruze?

Oh, that's funny. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.

• 8:54George Kamel?

How far are you going with the toothpaste?

• 8:55Rachel Cruze?

Yeah. You know, my toothpaste situation is not great in life. I'm not a great...

• 9:01George Kamel?

  Are you brushing?

• 9:02Rachel Cruze?

I am a... I do brush. Yes, I use an electric toothbrush. I don't go to the dentist, as everyone knows, but I use an electric toothbrush. Yeah, I'm a child with toothpaste.

• 9:11George Kamel?

Oh, no. Are you like squeezing from the middle, like a psychopath?

• 9:14Rachel Cruze?

Oh, middle, and it, and it dries on top.

• 9:17George Kamel?

Do you and Winston share toothpaste, or does he have his own?

• 9:19Rachel Cruze?

No, he has his own that's perfectly clean in his drawer.

• 9:22George Kamel?

  Good.

• 9:23Rachel Cruze?

Mine looks like a... Mine is, yeah, no, not great.

• 9:26George Kamel?

Like an intruder was coming in just to try to squeeze toothpaste in a rush. They didn't have a lot of time. Just squeeze and ask questions later.

• 9:34Rachel Cruze?

  Y'all, why, and as a...

• 9:35George Kamel?

Is it like all gunked up on the, on the...

• 9:37Rachel Cruze?

Yes, yeah, for sure, y'all. I am terrible.

• 9:41George Kamel?

I gotta take a drink of this drink, and it's gross enough that that tells you how I feel about your toothpaste.

• 9:45Rachel Cruze?

I think because I lose the lids of my toothpastes. They're so small.

• 9:52George Kamel?

  That's, that's the excuse?

• 9:54Rachel Cruze?

  All right.

• 9:54George Kamel?

What toothpaste do you use, by the way? I think people want to know.

• 9:57Rachel Cruze?

  Uh, it's red.

• 10:00George Kamel?

Is it like Crest, gives a brand?

• 10:03Rachel Cruze?

  I know, uh...

• 10:04George Kamel?

  I'm not convinced...

• 10:05Rachel Cruze?

  Colgate. I think it's Colgate.

• 10:06George Kamel?

Okay. I was like, I'm not convinced you brush your teeth if you don't know the brand of toothpaste you use.

• 10:11Rachel Cruze?

  I, I just know it's red, for sure. Colgate, I'm pretty sure it's... I read it. I don't know.

• 10:16George Kamel?

I know down to the flavor.

• 10:17Rachel Cruze?

  No!

• 10:18George Kamel?

  You, Sensodyne Pronamel Gentle Whitening.

• 10:24George Kamel?

Thank you. Kelly has taste. Will has taste.

• 10:27Rachel Cruze?

Y'all, if I even have to, this is how not detailed I am. This is my furry spirit coming out. If I have to replace my, every day, every day I use this moisturizer on my face, I don't really know what it's called. I have to go look at it to Amazon it. I genuinely don't know if, I can tell you what it looks like. It's a white bottle and all. I don't really even know the name of it.

• 10:45George Kamel?

  Wow.

• 10:46Rachel Cruze?

  Yeah.

• 10:46George Kamel?

The freedom in which you live your life is frightening.

• 10:50Rachel Cruze?

I have a lot of peace. I'm very relaxed in life.

• 10:52George Kamel?

  So relaxed.

• 10:53Rachel Cruze?

  I know.

• 10:54George Kamel?

You know, you put the stress on everyone else in your life to figure it out.

• 10:58George Kamel?

All right, I am, I'm definitely not guilty of this. I will not, in fact, I would return the face cream for what I paid for it if I don't see results in three days, which by the way, who's looking for results in three days? What promise do they make on this face cream?

• 11:12Rachel Cruze?

They make a lot of promises in the beauty world, George.

• 11:14George Kamel?

I don't fall for it. I've used the same.

• 11:16Rachel Cruze?

  You're so smart. So great.

• 11:19George Kamel?

Wasn't looking for affirmation, but thank you. Means a lot.

• 11:22Rachel Cruze?

All right, up next, insists of using a library card instead of buying a Kindle, but owns a beachfront vacation home in Cabo.

• 11:31George Kamel?

This one feels very specific to Sharon Ramsey.

• 11:34Rachel Cruze?

My mom, God bless you, Sharon.

• 11:36George Kamel?

I guess I'll give your mom a thumbs up.

• 11:38Rachel Cruze?

My mom would not buy a Kindle, y'all, for the long time. I don't even know if she still owns one, but she's a reader. She reads all the times where I love, get my love for reading. And she still will check books out the library.

• 11:47George Kamel?

She's going to the library physically.

• 11:49Rachel Cruze?

Oh, 100%. And I'm like, hey, mom, did you get this book? And she's like, I don't know, I'm on the waitlist at the library. And I'm like, I mean, she could Amazon it, but...

• 11:57George Kamel?

But she doesn't want anything digital to read. She wants a physical book.

• 12:00Rachel Cruze?

Yeah, you know, in the past years, she may have got, I've never seen her with a Kindle. She's a, she reads actual physical books and she's still, she will not buy them.

• 12:07George Kamel?

And Dave Ramsey is a physical book guy, right?

• 12:10Rachel Cruze?

Yeah, so is dad. I know.

• 12:11George Kamel?

I've never seen him read a Kindle, not saying he doesn't.

• 12:13Rachel Cruze?

And I'm the same way, toxic trait. But yet they like... Are doing great in life, you know. So we're like, Sharon, you can buy books from Amazon.

• 12:23George Kamel?

Yes, the fact that she won't buy Kindle, won't even buy the book, uses a library card to save on the $10, $15 the book costs.

• 12:30Rachel Cruze?

The library and she goes on wait lists for the books.

• 12:32George Kamel?

While in Cabo, which by the way is where she is at as of this taping.

• 12:36Rachel Cruze?

  As we speak, that's right.

• 12:38George Kamel?

I got nothing but respect for our queen, Sharon Ramsey. But she is remarkably frugal. She had a very, you know, very humble upbringing and I think that has stuck with her. Of just like, don't be wasteful, don't buy things that you could get for free.

• 12:50Rachel Cruze?

A little dollop of, you know, sweet potato casserole, because we don't throw that away.

• 12:55George Kamel?

  Saving it in the freezer.

• 12:56Rachel Cruze?

A little bit there, yeah. She'll pull it out, we'll eat desserts and she'll give us the year, the dessert we're that she freezes.

• 13:03George Kamel?

God bless. And here's your reminder, go watch the Sharon Ramsey episode of Smart Money Happy Hour right after this because it's so good.

• 13:10Rachel Cruze?

  So good.

• 13:11George Kamel?

All right, here's a new one. Won't buy a new winter coat for 20 years, but will burn through a thousand bucks on a new shotgun every hunting season. This one's for southern dads everywhere. I'm gonna go, uh, I'm not guilty of this one.

• 13:23Rachel Cruze?

  Yep, but is Winston?

• 13:26George Kamel?

Wow. So he's like, my winter coat from 20 years ago is fine. Still fits from college.

• 13:30Rachel Cruze?

Y'all, this is so weird. This is exactly the conversation I had with him this week because last week he was on a duck trip to Arkansas.

• 13:38George Kamel?

  He needed a new shotgun.

• 13:39Rachel Cruze?

Literally said, no, well, he did. Yeah, that's true. He did not buy a new gun for that trip, but he said, he's like, yeah, all the guys had all the great gear and stuff because he's a different, he's a pheasant hunter, which is a different type of gear than duck. I don't know. It's a whole thing.

• 13:51George Kamel?

  We get it.

• 13:53Rachel Cruze?

George gets it for sure. Yeah, but he said it was his coat from college. He's like, I still just got my coat from college, you know, just wearing it. It still works. So it's kind of Winston, but he didn't buy a new shotgun, but he still will just wear what he wears.

• 14:06George Kamel?

Does he have the full like water waiter outfit?

• 14:09Rachel Cruze?

Waiters? Good for you, George. A waiter. Yeah, he's got waiters. Yeah.

• 14:13George Kamel?

No, I have a lot of respect for hunting. I just don't want to do it.

• 14:16Rachel Cruze?

That's fair. You know what? I, yeah, I don't get it.

• 14:19George Kamel?

I don't need to be out there in the elements at 5:00 AM to prove something.

• 14:22Rachel Cruze?

You know what else I don't need to prove?

• 14:23George Kamel?

  What's that?

• 14:24Rachel Cruze?

My online information, because it's out there already.

• 14:29George Kamel?

What a transition. Some of your best work.

• 14:32Rachel Cruze?

  That's pretty good, y'all. That's pretty good.

• 14:33George Kamel?

Yeah, why would you need to prove your online information? I think you have a good point.

• 14:37Rachel Cruze?

Because it's out there for everyone to see. That's why we need...

• 14:41George Kamel?

Especially yours. If anyone needs Delete Me, it is Rachel Cruz. This product was invented for you.

• 14:46Rachel Cruze?

Seriously, Delete Me goes in and removes all your information, because we do so much of our lives online, from banking, right? To our email, everything. I mean, we're shopping. There's so much. So our names, addresses, phone numbers, email addresses, everything's out there. And so Delete Me goes in and removes all that information from data broker websites that sell your information to other companies. They make money off of you. And Delete Me goes in and removes it.

• 15:12George Kamel?

And they send you a report showing you what they've done, how much time they've saved you. I'm currently at 77 hours, feeling real good on my high horse.

• 15:20Rachel Cruze?

  Good for you, George.

• 15:20George Kamel?

• 15:43Rachel Cruze?

  Yep, it's amazing.

• 15:44George Kamel?

  The best.

• 15:45Rachel Cruze?

Next is only buys economy plane tickets, but valets car at airport.

• 15:51George Kamel?

Oh, that's a Rachel Cruz moment. I'm gonna go halfway. It's not that I've never done the valet, but I also am so angry when I have to pay that amount of money.

• 16:00Rachel Cruze?

  Really?

• 16:01George Kamel?

It does save you. Here's where I will say Rachel wins. Last time we traveled with a baby, mind you. But it was like five or six days, which is a lot. It's a lot of valet money.

• 16:13Rachel Cruze?

  That's a long time.

• 16:13George Kamel?

So we did the like self park, but in the garage next to the airport.

• 16:17Rachel Cruze?

  Yeah.

• 16:17George Kamel?

So it's not a far walk. Forgot where we parked, ended up in the wrong area with the baby in the freezing cold.

• 16:24Rachel Cruze?

  Oh, George.

• 16:24George Kamel?

With all the luggage we're lugging. And this is when I was like, Rachel was right. Rachel was right, should have valeted.

• 16:31Rachel Cruze?

I know, but it's funny because Winston's like an anti first class, like he thinks it's the most wasted amount of money.

• 16:38George Kamel?

  He's the everyman.

• 16:38Rachel Cruze?

But genuinely, he's like, that makes no sense to pay for that.

• 16:41George Kamel?

But truthfully, the amount of money.

• 16:42Rachel Cruze?

And we pay south and we fly Southwest 95% of the time. I mean, rarely am I getting on.

• 16:47George Kamel?

Second class, let me tell you.

• 16:49Rachel Cruze?

Yeah, but Southwest, there's no option. Like you're just, you're just, you know, getting on what you're getting on.

• 16:53George Kamel?

  If you're A-list, that's basically first class.

• 16:56Rachel Cruze?

Yeah, and it's hard to get to.

• 16:58George Kamel?

  I'll never get there again.

• 16:59Rachel Cruze?

  I know.

• 17:00George Kamel?

You need 20 something flights a year.

• 17:02Rachel Cruze?

  It's a lot. It's a lot. But valet, I will, yep.

• 17:05George Kamel?

For a short trip, I'm with Rachel at the Nashville airport. I think it's 40 bucks.

• 17:09Rachel Cruze?

  Especially with kids.

• 17:11George Kamel?

  With kids.

• 17:12Rachel Cruze?

  I mean, it's.

• 17:12George Kamel?

If it's a short trip, I would do it. But for a long trip, like a week.

• 17:15Rachel Cruze?

I would say that's harder. I get that. I get that. Yeah.

• 17:18George Kamel?

God gave me legs. I can walk an extra.

• 17:20Rachel Cruze?

Yeah, that's fair. I know. I just like the convenience.

• 17:23George Kamel?

  It is convenient.

• 17:24Rachel Cruze?

  Convenience.

• 17:24George Kamel?

But then they ask for a tip and I know they're not going far. You know what I mean?

• 17:28Rachel Cruze?

  Yeah, yeah, yeah.

• 17:29George Kamel?

I struggle with the tip on the valet that already charged me 40 bucks a day.

• 17:33Rachel Cruze?

Sure. I don't do it by a percentage because their effort wasn't.

• 17:38George Kamel?

  It was a one-time effort.

• 17:39Rachel Cruze?

  Yeah, yeah, yeah.

• 17:39George Kamel?

They weren't doing this every day, hoping you'd show up.

• 17:41Rachel Cruze?

Yeah, no, they're not like moving the car every day. That's right.

• 17:44George Kamel?

That's good. All right, next one. Claims there's no margin in the budget for retirement investing, but pays $250 every month for the gym membership. Never made.

• 17:54Rachel Cruze?

  Oh, that's funny.

• 17:55George Kamel?

  Your boy invests.

• 17:56Rachel Cruze?

Yeah, and we just. You know, we just canceled our gym membership. We had one. I know.

• 18:01George Kamel?

Well, now you have like an at-home situation, right?

• 18:03Rachel Cruze?

So we do it in our garage. And so, yep, we're done. We're done with the gym, y'all. But you know what's crazy is we paid that, y'all, for probably nine to 10 months and never used it.

• 18:12George Kamel?

Oh, did it hurt at all?

• 18:14Rachel Cruze?

Yeah, I mean, every month and every dollar, I'm trucking it, the YMCA, putting it in. And I'm like, we never go. So.

• 18:21George Kamel?

I went to the YMCA recently. I did the day pass. Do you know about this?

• 18:25Rachel Cruze?

  Wow, give me the details.

• 18:27George Kamel?

Here's why I did it. I did it to go to the skate park to see if I still got it.

• 18:33Rachel Cruze?

And how did that end up?

• 18:34George Kamel?

20 minutes later, found out, I still got it, I just don't have the endurance.

• 18:39Rachel Cruze?

Okay, are you nervous when you're like, the board is, I don't even know skateboarding, but you have a big hill.

• 18:45George Kamel?

  Okay.

• 18:45Rachel Cruze?

  And you're at the top.

• 18:46George Kamel?

  Yep.

• 18:46Rachel Cruze?

And that board is just, and you gotta really commit to go down.

• 18:50George Kamel?

Yeah, like dropping in on a quarter pipe or half pipe.

• 18:52Rachel Cruze?

  Scary?

• 18:53George Kamel?

  It is, yeah.

• 18:55Rachel Cruze?

  How, it's scarier nowadays?

• 18:58George Kamel?

It is scarier now because I pay for my own insurance. And once you do that, I will say it changes. Like the 14-year-old kids at the skate park, I was like, God bless you guys and your mom's insurance. Like, you're out here doing the most. I was very concerned the whole time. I was like, if I roll an ankle, what does this mean for my family? So I was very cautious.

• 19:15Rachel Cruze?

  Did kids look at you?

• 19:16George Kamel?

  But I was the best.

• 19:17Rachel Cruze?

  Were you?

• 19:18George Kamel?

And the 14-year-old kids were like, wow, that guy. I was like, yeah, your boy used to skate.

• 19:22Rachel Cruze?

  George, well done.

• 19:23George Kamel?

So after 20 minutes of impressing the children, I left and I paid my $15 for the YMCA, and I was very happy.

• 19:28Rachel Cruze?

And you were gonna? Take pass.

• 19:30George Kamel?

Yeah, but I do not currently have a gym membership because I was Rachel, and I paid too much for it, didn't go enough.

• 19:36Rachel Cruze?

  Yep.

• 19:36George Kamel?

Not really into the gym atmosphere, I realized.

• 19:39Rachel Cruze?

  It's very intimidating.

• 19:40George Kamel?

Yeah. People that go to the gym really want you to know they go to the gym, and I need like a Planet Fitness level where it's like, hey, we're all just trying our best out here.

• 19:49Rachel Cruze?

  Is that Planet Fitness?

• 19:50George Kamel?

Yeah. Planet Fitness is like $10 a month, a lot of people who are not in shape who want to be in shape. The gym I was going to, which is Lifetime Fitness, is meant for people who live at the gym. Their hobbies include...

• 20:01Rachel Cruze?

  Lifetime at the gym.

• 20:02George Kamel?

Gym. That's it. They go to work, they go to the gym, they go home, they go to the gym.

• 20:08Rachel Cruze?

  Yeah.

• 20:08George Kamel?

  Not for me.

• 20:09Rachel Cruze?

Yeah. All right, next, we'll tip 20% for a manicure that you hate, but we'll stand in line at Target to return a $7 vase from last spring.

• 20:20George Kamel?

Wow. I guess I'm guilty of this, even though I've never paid, tipped 20% for a manicure I hate?

• 20:27Rachel Cruze?

  Yeah.

• 20:27George Kamel?

Does this happen often? I've never got my nails done in a sense.

• 20:31Rachel Cruze?

I've gotten my, yeah, I've gotten a couple of colors that I'm like, wow, that's just not what I wanted, but you never want to tell her.

• 20:37George Kamel?

  Oh.

• 20:38Rachel Cruze?

Because she's mostly done with it, you're like, eww, so you just live with it.

• 20:42George Kamel?

I did, I was on the business end of this with a massage.

• 20:46Rachel Cruze?

  Oh, what happened there?

• 20:47George Kamel?

So you know, you know the place. The massage place. It's by the minute, which red flag number one.

• 20:53Rachel Cruze?

  The reflexology place?

• 20:54George Kamel?

  Yes.

• 20:55Rachel Cruze?

  Oh, yes.

• 20:56George Kamel?

  Generous to call it reflexology.

• 20:58Rachel Cruze?

  Oh, I know that place.

• 20:59George Kamel?

Anyways, I tipped 15% one time. Cause it's a mediocre chair massage.

• 21:03Rachel Cruze?

  Sure.

• 21:03George Kamel?

You know? And I tipped 15% and the guy literally pointed said, no, no, no, no. 20%, 20%.

• 21:10Rachel Cruze?

  No, he didn't.

• 21:10George Kamel?

  20%.

• 21:11Rachel Cruze?

  No, he didn't.

• 21:11George Kamel?

  And I was like, um.

• 21:13Rachel Cruze?

  No. George, are you serious?

• 21:14George Kamel?

Okay, sure. Like, I was like, I, I don't wanna be a part, like, I wanna get out of this. You know what I mean? So that was an awkward moment. Where I learned even if it's not great. Tip 20%.

• 21:26Rachel Cruze?

Tip the service, tip the service. I'm a, I'm a 20% across the board, probably regardless of the service.

• 21:32George Kamel?

  Wow.

• 21:33Rachel Cruze?

  I know.

• 21:33George Kamel?

  You're so generous.

• 21:35Rachel Cruze?

George, you're so stingy. It'd be like two extra dollars.

• 21:38George Kamel?

I thought 15% was a totally fine tip for an okay massage in a chair. That they got 38 years ago that smells like cigarettes. Just one man's take. Just one man's take.

• 21:49Rachel Cruze?

  Just throwing it out there.

• 21:50George Kamel?

Yeah, you got the fluorescent light on, I'm three feet from a bathroom. That an employee just used without washing their hands? How do I know? Never heard of sink, but heard the toilet. But no, no, no, you're right. You're right, I should be generous.

• 22:07Rachel Cruze?

  Okay.

• 22:08George Kamel?

  It's a real experience.

• 22:09Rachel Cruze?

It's in a strip mall, like, you know what you're walking into.

• 22:11George Kamel?

This one was in the, yeah. Agreed. Fine.

• 22:15Rachel Cruze?

  It's next to a subway.

• 22:16George Kamel?

If it's next to a subway and a CBD store, you know what you're getting into.

• 22:20Rachel Cruze?

Yeah, yeah, I mean, this is like a. Check, give the, draw your blood and check your levels place was right next to it.

• 22:25George Kamel?

They're talking behind my back the whole time.

• 22:27Rachel Cruze?

  Always.

• 22:27George Kamel?

  And I know.

• 22:28Rachel Cruze?

  I know.

• 22:29George Kamel?

And I can't do anything about it.

• 22:32Rachel Cruze?

You should start, like, saying Arabic stuff.

• 22:34George Kamel?

That would be a good power move. Cause they don't know what I'm saying either. I've no one to talk to. But I'll say, I'll talk to myself so they know I'm not okay.

• 22:42Rachel Cruze?

  Oh my gosh.

• 22:43George Kamel?

But yes, I am guilty of the standing in line at Target to return a $7 vase from last spring.

• 22:47Rachel Cruze?

  Yeah, I can see that.

• 22:48George Kamel?

  Been there, done that.

• 22:49Rachel Cruze?

How about this? Owns zero name brand belongings, but saves up cash to buy a personal sauna, cold plunge tub, home gym, and backyard pool.

• 23:00George Kamel?

This one is suspiciously similar to something Winston Cruz would do.

• 23:04Rachel Cruze?

  That's a Winston.

• 23:05George Kamel?

  Is this true?

• 23:05Rachel Cruze?

I'm gonna throw him up for that one.

• 23:07George Kamel?

Yeah, I can't, I'm not guilty of this. I wish I was, truthfully.

• 23:11Rachel Cruze?

  Yeah, yeah, yeah, no.

• 23:12George Kamel?

This is the dream, is to own zero name brand belongings, but have a backyard pool, cold plunge. You know what that tells me?

• 23:17Rachel Cruze?

  All the way.

• 23:18George Kamel?

Winston does not care about your opinion. Isn't that his superpower?

• 23:23Rachel Cruze?

So true. Doesn't, yeah, doesn't, doesn't know much about

• 23:26George Kamel?

  Yeah.

• 23:27Rachel Cruze?

  current

• 23:27George Kamel?

Cause he does nothing to flex.

• 23:29Rachel Cruze?

  Yeah.

• 23:30George Kamel?

If he does anything, it's for Winston.

• 23:32Rachel Cruze?

Yes. As we sat down, Winston has this jacket that, that he, that George has on, but Winston's more waxed and Winston found this small little shop in this small little town outside of Nashville and he was like, ooh.

• 23:44George Kamel?

  Columbia, Tennessee.

• 23:45Rachel Cruze?

This is Enneagram four style. He's a hard Enneagram four, which is funny, five and four. And he was like, oh, I'm gonna see that. And then he came to Ramsey to visit me for lunch and he saw someone wear it and he was like, hmm, people know about this. And then I just thought you had it. I was like

• 24:00George Kamel?

It's ruined now. When Winston finds out I have the same jacket as him, he's like, let me, can I return this still?

• 24:06Rachel Cruze?

  No, I don't. But yeah, that's, that's a good one.

• 24:08George Kamel?

We shop local. It's what we do, Rachel.

• 24:09Rachel Cruze?

That's a good one. But you know, one, one thing that Winston does love is Cozy Earth. That is one name brand stuff, honestly, that he has the hoodie, the socks.

• 24:17George Kamel?

And it's because of the quality.

• 24:19Rachel Cruze?

Cause it is so soft, like genuinely. I actually got my brother in law a pair of joggers for Christmas from Cozy Earth. And he just texted me the other day. He was like, hey, I want to make sure this is the type, this is the brand.

• 24:28George Kamel?

Such great stuff. The Camel family has a lot of Cozy Earth in the house and we love it all. Go check it out. They're giving our viewers and listeners up to 40% off if you use the promo code SMARTMONEY at checkout. Go to cozylearth.com or click the link in the show notes.

• 24:43Rachel Cruze?

All right, George, next. Uh, won't set foot into a Whole Foods to buy organic groceries, but will spend $120 on the latest lemon drop because of hashtag wellness.

• 24:53George Kamel?

  Oh, wow.

• 24:53Rachel Cruze?

This is funny, y'all. I'm gonna say guilty 'cause I kinda relate. I'm like, it's, I can get there. But I'm like, yeah, I would spend money on like a Cozy Earth or a Viori.

• 25:03George Kamel?

You're not a Whole Foods fan, huh?

• 25:04Rachel Cruze?

And then I'm like, I'll just buy Publix milk. Like, I'm fine. I'm fine with my life, you know?

• 25:09George Kamel?

My wife just yesterday was like, hey, buy the organic one if you can. And I was like, I can, but it's double the price and our baby won't know.

• 25:18George Kamel?

  So...

• 25:19Rachel Cruze?

Your baby's gut will know, though. That's what they say.

• 25:21George Kamel?

Oh, she though? I don't know. I don't know. Pretty sure she ate lint. So like, I don't know. I'm not that concerned at this stage of the game. But I do respect it. I do respect it.

• 25:33Rachel Cruze?

All right, give us your last one, George.

• 25:35George Kamel?

We'll drive an extra 10 minutes on the way home to fill up at the cheap gas station, but we'll shell out 150 bucks a month on food delivery fees.

• 25:45Rachel Cruze?

I'm not guilty, 'cause I won't drive the extra, but I will do the delivery fees, probably.

• 25:49George Kamel?

I am the opposite. I will absolutely drive extra to the cheap gas station, which for me would be like a Sam's Club or Costco. In most cases, they have the best price. We'll drive extra. But the delivery fees, I am...

• 26:02Rachel Cruze?

  You hate delivery fees.

• 26:03George Kamel?

  Nothing makes me more angry.

• 26:04Rachel Cruze?

  I know.

• 26:05George Kamel?

When you... 'Cause here's the thing, you're not only paying for the fees, but every item you purchase is 20% more expensive.

• 26:11Rachel Cruze?

Yeah, I know. I hear you.

• 26:13George Kamel?

It makes me so angry that I'm like, you know what? I'm gonna get in my car and drive there myself to show them a lesson. I'm gonna pay retail price for that, no more.

• 26:20Rachel Cruze?

George, you know, on my prayer list...

• 26:22George Kamel?

  I'm on there?

• 26:23Rachel Cruze?

I have Amanda Bynes now. I've added her.

• 26:26George Kamel?

  Oh, good. Okay.

• 26:28Rachel Cruze?

Because Lindsay Lohan is off of my prayer list, 'cause she's doing great.

• 26:32George Kamel?

  She's thriving.

• 26:32Rachel Cruze?

  She is thriving.

• 26:33George Kamel?

Uh, Bieber, is he still on there?

• 26:35Rachel Cruze?

Uh, no, I think him and Haley are doing great with the new baby and stuff. It feels right.

• 26:38George Kamel?

Great. You've already saved two people with your prayer list.

• 26:41Rachel Cruze?

And I'm gonna, I'm gonna add you, George, to it.

• 26:43George Kamel?

  Thank you.

• 26:44Rachel Cruze?

  'Cause even...

• 26:45George Kamel?

Wait, do I get to replace Bieber?

• 26:46Rachel Cruze?

'Cause even what you just said, George, you know? I just think you need to loosen up a little bit. I just, I just think you need to enjoy a delivery fee.

• 26:54George Kamel?

I am my father's son. What can I say? My parents didn't immigrate to this country to get screwed on delivery fees. They got screwed enough on the way in, they're not getting screwed on the way out, too.

• 27:07George Kamel?

It's simply too much. Don't you think we have to put a stop to this?

• 27:10Rachel Cruze?

  Okay, here's the thing.

• 27:10George Kamel?

We need a delivery fee revolution.

• 27:14George Kamel?

This is what people should be campaigning on.

• 27:15Rachel Cruze?

I hear you. I get it. It is stupid. It's crazy.

• 27:18George Kamel?

Even Biden, who can't download an app to save his life, had a whole thing about junk fees. He was trying to get rid of the junk fees, as he called them. Because back in Scranton, when he was, you know, on the train, traveling with Corn Pop, that man doesn't know. It's the last thing the guy paid a fee.

• 27:33Rachel Cruze?

George, okay, but listen. My prayer for you is just to kind of like loosen up a little bit, you know?

• 27:40George Kamel?

  That's good advice.

• 27:41Rachel Cruze?

Just enjoy a few delivery fees in your lifetime and you're gonna be okay.

• 27:45George Kamel?

  Thank you.

• 27:46Rachel Cruze?

Because here's the truth of it all. So we all value different things. We're going to spend money and effort on things that we just, you know, it's our natural bent, and not that they're right or wrong. And again, I think there is a time and a place to save the money, but there's also a time and a place just to enjoy the life. But we're all gonna have that hypocrisy in life, right? That's always gonna be part of it.

• 28:06George Kamel?

Would Sharon Ramsey pay delivery fees? Left her own devices, no.

• 28:11Rachel Cruze?

  No, she wouldn't.

• 28:12George Kamel?

Would Dave Ramsey pay the delivery fee unbeknownst to Sharon?

• 28:15Rachel Cruze?

Yes, yes, yes. Dad would, yes.

• 28:18George Kamel?

But if it was up to Sharon to order the meal, she'd be like, well, we'll just go pay it.

• 28:21Rachel Cruze?

  Sharon, she...

• 28:23George Kamel?

  Not paying the fees.

• 28:24Rachel Cruze?

So many stories of my mom. This one came to mind. We were on vacation, like, last year, and she all tried to talk us out of buying breakfast because she's like, lunch is coming soon. We don't need to pay for breakfast. So we're all like, but mom, we're so...

• 28:38George Kamel?

  You can wait. Patience.

• 28:40Rachel Cruze?

Yeah, because she's like, it's a wait. You know, she's like, it's fine. Just grab that banana from the lobby.

• 28:44George Kamel?

That's why you don't like this. It hearkens trauma from your childhood and therefore you don't want me to live that life.

• 28:53George Kamel?

  I can't help it.

• 28:54Rachel Cruze?

Oh, my gosh. Too good. Too good.

• 28:57George Kamel?

  What's the takeaway here?

• 28:58Rachel Cruze?

Well, I think it, again, it's about that we all place value on different things. I think if we do have unhealthy habits, that needs to be addressed, right? This isn't to like, cover up and laugh about that. We need to talk about that.

• 29:09George Kamel?

  Yes.

• 29:09Rachel Cruze?

But also, if it's in the budget, that's a great thing. And if you're using every dollar, you know what's going on with your budget, and that's what's key.

• 29:15George Kamel?

And it's okay to be... Like me, bougie frugal.

• 29:18Rachel Cruze?

  That is true, George.

• 29:19George Kamel?

It's okay to have some nice things and to want to get a deal on something else that isn't worth paying full price. And it's okay to be Rachel and to put it in the budget and just spend.

• 29:27Rachel Cruze?

  And enjoy your life.

• 29:28George Kamel?

Get the Instacart and don't go to Costco on a Saturday and tip well and be grateful.

• 29:32Rachel Cruze?

That's right. There's not a right or a wrong here.

• 29:33George Kamel?

  That's a great life, too.

• 29:34Rachel Cruze?

Thank you, George. All right, before we get to our guilty as charged, tell us about this drink that we did not drink.

• 29:41George Kamel?

This drink that I think will be serving time. I think this is the drink you see on the side of the highway picking up trash and you go, kids, this is why you stay in school. You don't want to end up like this drink. This drink is the citrus cardamom coffee spritzer mocktail, which by the way, are five things that I love on their own. But when put together are a hate crime towards mocktails.

• 30:07George Kamel?

Here, uh, here's my rating, negative 10 out of 10.

• 30:12Rachel Cruze?

Okay, I don't give it that. I give it a two.

• 30:15George Kamel?

Well, look at Mr. Generous over here. You did a spit take when you first tried it. Try it again and tell me it doesn't taste like sweet tea with espresso through a Waffle House filter that sat out for days, then got put in the fridge and then you put a lime little peel on it.

• 30:32Rachel Cruze?

  A little lemon on it.

• 30:33George Kamel?

  Yeah.

• 30:34Rachel Cruze?

  I mean, it's bad.

• 30:35George Kamel?

  Is that accurate?

• 30:36Rachel Cruze?

  It's bad. Yeah, it's bad. A one.

• 30:39George Kamel?

  It's like water.

• 30:39Rachel Cruze?

I hate to give it a zero. I don't know why.

• 30:41George Kamel?

Watered down sweet tea with espresso poured over.

• 30:43Rachel Cruze?

  Yeah, it's not good.

• 30:44George Kamel?

  Is that fair?

• 30:44Rachel Cruze?

It's not good. Okay, we got it.

• 30:46George Kamel?

  All right, but here's.

• 30:47Rachel Cruze?

  Don't try it at home.

• 30:48George Kamel?

Here's the good news. It's only a dollar and 11 cents per glass.

• 30:54George Kamel?

So worst case, you also wasted money while making a terrible drink. Here's what's in it in case you have a dark mind. It's got sugar, water, cardamom pods, cold coffee, fresh lemon juice, plain seltzer, and I imagine the middle finger of your worst enemy stirring it all together. Just to go, this will really add to the flavor.

• 31:17Rachel Cruze?

  This will really give.

• 31:19George Kamel?

Yeah. But honestly, I triple dog dare you to try it with the recipe in the show notes. Give it a try this weekend. The kids cannot enjoy it too. So this is a fun one for the whole family to suffer through.

• 31:32George Kamel?

And if you make it and you enjoy it, we're not friends. We're not gonna get along in life. But I wish you the best.

• 31:39Rachel Cruze?

Wish you the best in life. Well, now it's time for...

• 31:43George Kamel?

It can't all be bangers, you know?

• 31:45Rachel Cruze?

That's true. You can't win them all, people.

• 31:47George Kamel?

You gotta have the valleys to really appreciate the peaks. Quote that. That's actually good.

• 31:53Rachel Cruze?

As I walk through the valley of the shadow of death.

• 31:54George Kamel?

Yeah, they should rename this drink the Shadow of Death.

• 31:59Rachel Cruze?

And the worst is the aftertaste. I'm not gonna lie, I think it's even worse than the actual drink.

• 32:03George Kamel?

Somehow the before taste, also bad.

• 32:06Rachel Cruze?

It's just bad all around. All right, now it's time for Guilty as Charged. And this is where our producer Kelly gives us a new guilty as charged question every week. And for guilty, we have to take a sip, which is terrible.

• 32:20George Kamel?

  Now that's a punishment.

• 32:21Rachel Cruze?

I'm so sorry if either of you are guilty of this. Have you ever been a quote-unquote Karen about something money-related and it paid off?

• 32:31George Kamel?

Yes. Immediate yes. I can think of seven stories, I'll go with one.

• 32:38George Kamel?

AT&T internet bill, your boy's budgeting. He sees that bill come through normally, eighty dollars and thirty-six cents. But for some reason this month, Rachel, it was eighty-five dollars and thirty-six cents. And I said, "Not on my watch." "No, no, no, no, no. My internet service didn't get better. What's happening here?"

• 32:54Rachel Cruze?

Not three dollars and twenty-nine cents better.

• 32:57George Kamel?

I contact the customer chat because that's where I can be a full Karen without needing to feel bad about it, with no tone. They won't recognize my voice. And they ended up not only reverting me back to the eighty dollars after I was very inquisitive, and they said, "Well, prices went up." I went, "No, they didn't. Not for me. Been a customer for eighty-five years." They reverted my price back to eighty dollars and gave me a hundred-dollar Visa gift card.

• 33:25Rachel Cruze?

  What? George.

• 33:28George Kamel?

If that isn't full Karen and it paying off, I don't know what is.

• 33:32Rachel Cruze?

Well, Karen paid off for that.

• 33:33George Kamel?

  Can you beat that?

• 33:35Rachel Cruze?

Uh, no, I can't. I, but I used to look at clothing in, in stores before I bought. And if I found any snag, little dot, anything off, I would go to the register and say, ah, do you see this? Like, mm. And they would usually get like 15% off or something, which isn't a ton, but at least you get like taxes off. So I, I would do that every now and then. Yeah.

• 33:58George Kamel?

  I'm proud of you.

• 33:59Rachel Cruze?

  Karen, to you.

• 34:00George Kamel?

  Hey, we're both guilty.

• 34:00Rachel Cruze?

  To you.

• 34:01George Kamel?

  Cheers.

• 34:02Rachel Cruze?

  Cheers. And.

• 34:04George Kamel?

  Can I also say?

• 34:05Rachel Cruze?

You know what's so funny is Sharon's twin, his name is Karen.

• 34:08George Kamel?

I was gonna say, shout out to Sharon's sister Karen.

• 34:11Rachel Cruze?

Karen, I know, I was gonna say, yeah.

• 34:13George Kamel?

I feel like Karen's out there, like, get a bad rap.

• 34:15Rachel Cruze?

  They do.

• 34:16George Kamel?

Every Karen I've ever met is the nicest person.

• 34:17Rachel Cruze?

  Oh, my Karen's the best.

• 34:18George Kamel?

Who wants nothing more than to get rid of this personal brand.

• 34:21Rachel Cruze?

  I know, sorry Karen.

• 34:23George Kamel?

I don't know how, but it was, it's like the mom Bob, you know, like from the 2000s.

• 34:27Rachel Cruze?

  I know, I know.

• 34:28George Kamel?

But no, I am a male Karen.

• 34:29Rachel Cruze?

Yeah, I know. I have another terrible thought with a Karen. I threw up on the bus in third grade on Karen Crozier. That's my other Karen thought.

• 34:38George Kamel?

  Directly onto another human being?

• 34:40Rachel Cruze?

  I did, a toaster strudel.

• 34:42George Kamel?

Was there? Follow up, was there no floor nearby?

• 34:47Rachel Cruze?

I was in the third grade, I don't know, I was riding the bus, didn't feel great, and Karen Crozier.

• 34:53George Kamel?

Okay, next question, were you in the window seat?

• 34:55Rachel Cruze?

  Nope, Karen was.

• 34:57George Kamel?

Hold on, you were in the aisle seat and you turned left to throw up on Karen?

• 35:02Rachel Cruze?

  Turned right.

• 35:04George Kamel?

Oh, got it, you're on the right side of the bus.

• 35:06Rachel Cruze?

  I know.

• 35:06George Kamel?

Couldn't have turned left onto the floor?

• 35:08Rachel Cruze?

Yeah, and then I remember my sweet dad picked me up from school because I thought I was sick, got, got in his car. And he was like, hey Rachel, I know, you know, it's kind of embarrassing, all this. I was like, it wasn't embarrassing, I'm bad for Karen, but I.

• 35:19George Kamel?

Embarrassing for Karen, she's got vomit all over her.

• 35:22Rachel Cruze?

But dad really tried, you know, that was a boomer trying to empathize. I remember that, very sweet of him, but I wasn't, I wasn't embarrassed. It was fine. Anyways, all the Karens out there, we love you, God bless you.
