Encounters x320 - Terrifying True Ghost Stories

This week’s Encounters episode is a full-on paranormal kitchen sink episode. Anything goes as we dive into listener stories of glitchy realities, accidental séances, demonic laughter, doppelgängers, and near-death visions. Oh, and our podcast may have helped save one listener’s life during an ER visit. Stories include: An old house where an entity throws objects, fills rooms with laughter, and appears as a doppelgänger. A series of near-death and out-of-body experiences that raise questions about timeline jumps, missing memories, and whether reality quietly rebooted. A sleep-talking incident that casually invokes Bloody Mary at 3 a.m. while the speaker is dreaming peacefully elsewhere. A moment where our podcast played an unexpected role in a real-life medical emergency. Watch the video version here. Have ghost stories of your own? E-mail them to us at [email protected] New Episodes are released every Thursday and Sunday at 12am PST/3am EST (the witching hour, of course). Hi.

• 2:09Corinne Vien?

  Hi.

• 2:09Sabrina Deana-Roga?

Can you show off your hair?

• 2:11Corinne Vien?

  Guys, I have a bob.

• 2:13Sabrina Deana-Roga?

It's not, it's so far from a bob.

• 2:14Corinne Vien?

  It is a bob.

• 2:16Sabrina Deana-Roga?

It's the shortest you have ever had your hair, but it is no, it is so far from a bob.

• 2:21Corinne Vien?

The short was like 2015. I remember specifically my haircut that I got in 2015.

• 2:26Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  I like it.

• 2:27Corinne Vien?

Thanks. It's too long. I got over it, so I chopped it off.

• 2:31Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  Snip, snip.

• 2:32Corinne Vien?

Snip, snip. But I'm so excited because the place that I went to, I told you this. They're starting a head spa in a month and I'm 100% booking myself.

• 2:41Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  Oh, we should for sure.

• 2:43Corinne Vien?

  Yes.

• 2:43Sabrina Deana-Roga?

Post recording one day, just go get ourselves a little scalp massage.

• 2:46Corinne Vien?

Well, it's only one room because I was like, oh, that would be so nice to just like.

• 2:49Sabrina Deana-Roga?

I'll just sit and watch you.

• 2:50Corinne Vien?

And then I'll stare at you. Do it because I've always wanted to go to one of those head spas.

• 2:55Sabrina Deana-Roga?

That is like the best thing about getting your hair done is when they, if you have a hairdresser who fully just gives you the nice massage as you're at the hairball.

• 3:04Corinne Vien?

Oh, my hairdresser, when I used to live in Beacon Hill, would like do my neck and like down my, oh my gosh, shout out Kathleen.

• 3:12Sabrina Deana-Roga?

Who now is craving a massage?

• 3:16Corinne Vien?

This is Two Girls, One Ghost.

• 3:17Sabrina Deana-Roga?

Two Girls, One Ghost. And we are your ghostessess. That is Corinne.

• 3:22Corinne Vien?

  Hello.

• 3:22Sabrina Deana-Roga?

I am Sabrina and after this episode, you might need a massage.

• 3:26Corinne Vien?

Okay, I'm excited for this encounters because normally for the past like year or so, we've been theming every single encounter. So it's like this one's dreams, this one's top lookers, this one's loved ones. This one's the kitchen sink.

• 3:39Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  Everything.

• 3:39Corinne Vien?

So you have no idea what's gonna come.

• 3:41Sabrina Deana-Roga?

But the cryptid sink. Actually, there might be cryptids.

• 3:43Corinne Vien?

  Probably.

• 3:44Sabrina Deana-Roga?

But I liked the way that that sounded. Got a nice platter for you.

• 3:49Corinne Vien?

Yes, uh, and this one, shout out to Lauren because we met her at a live show.

• 3:55Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  Hey, Lauren.

• 3:56Corinne Vien?

And then I told her to bump her email so I could grab it.

• 3:58Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  Nice.

• 3:59Corinne Vien?

  And she listened.

• 4:00Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  Nice.

• 4:01Corinne Vien?

  Thank you.

• 4:01Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  Thank you for listening.

• 4:03Corinne Vien?

Okay. Hello, ghostesses. I cannot believe how long it's taken me to write this story to you. I've been listening for about six months now. That is not long. Some people have been listening for like eight years and still are working on the draft.

• 4:14Sabrina Deana-Roga?

They're just lurkers in the background.

• 4:16Corinne Vien?

  Lurkers.

• 4:17Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  Hey, I'm a, I'm a severe lurker. I have a condition called lurking.

• 4:22Corinne Vien?

  Yeah.

• 4:23Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  So.

• 4:23Corinne Vien?

I feel that same way. Like if I don't actually know someone, I'm just like a follower on social media or whatever.

• 4:28Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  And I lurk.

• 4:29Corinne Vien?

  I lurk.

• 4:30Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  Yeah.

• 4:30Corinne Vien?

And then every once in a while, I get like the shot of feeling brave and I'll like respond in like a DM or something and like they'll ask a question. I'll be like, oh, you should do this or like, you would love this. And I'm like, oh. Then I start to second guess myself and I'm like, was that weird?

• 4:43Sabrina Deana-Roga?

I will say from our perspective, I love when you guys reach out and.

• 4:48Corinne Vien?

Yeah, no, I never think that about anyone else. I think that about my own interactions. Uh, Lauren found us from Morbid. Shout out Ash and Alina.

• 4:54Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  Brothers.

• 4:54Corinne Vien?

My name is Lauren, but I will be changing the names in the story because I am no longer in contact with these people. Nothing bad, just part of growing up and living lives in different directions.

• 5:04Sabrina Deana-Roga?

I would say, who do you want us to fight? We'll fight them, but I guess we don't have to.

• 5:08Corinne Vien?

I have so many stories, especially as my third eye flew wide the fuck open when I turned thirty. Oh my gosh, I love that.

• 5:17Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  I love that.

• 5:18Corinne Vien?

And let me, it's like, everyone thinks about like thirteen, but it's thirteen going on thirty. If it doesn't happen at thirteen, maybe it will at thirty.

• 5:25Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  Never too late.

• 5:26Corinne Vien?

Let me tell you, I was seeing a lot of crazy shit, not just ghosts and entities, but things I never thought I believed in until I saw them with my physical eyes, or maybe started receiving memories. And also some thoughts that were not my own. But anyway, that's another email. Yes, I will be sending those in. Okay, the story is from my sophomore year of high school. I'm about to turn thirty-one, so this was maybe fifteen or sixteen years ago. In the town that I went to high school in called Spokane, Washington.

• 5:52Sabrina Deana-Roga?

We know it, heard of it.

• 5:53Corinne Vien?

Yeah. Growing up, I didn't have a ton of friends. I went to a private school, which serviced some of the wealthier families in the area. My parents sent me there because I was pretty badly being bullied in public school. Oh, I'm sorry.

• 6:05Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  Yeah.

• 6:06Corinne Vien?

My mom was about to send me to the Waldorf, which had a class size of like five, because I was being bullied so bad. And I was like.

• 6:12Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  So sad.

• 6:13Corinne Vien?

I don't want to be one of five. I might rather be bullied. She let me stay in public school. I visit not a lot. I didn't have as much money as most of the other kids in school, which also affected my ability to make friends there too. And for what it's worth, I'm fine. I wouldn't change my experience for anything. It made me tough. It pushed me to take uncomfortable risks later in life, which has led to my success and put me where I am now. So I'm very happy and I'm a bad bitch. Snaps for Lauren. And I'm doing much better. Hell, yeah. Definitely better than the majority of people who bullied me growing up. Fuck them. Anyways, because I didn't have a ton of friends in private school, I hung out a lot with these two friends that I had made in public school, the public school I went to prior.

• 6:58Corinne Vien?

We will call them Jack and Josh. Jack lived in a house built in the late 1800s in an area called South Perry District, one of the city's oldest neighborhoods. Jack had a cool parents who let us hang out and pretty much do whatever we wanted. So we spent a lot of time at his place until this night. This night was the last night I ever went back to his house. Dun, dun, dun. Jack and Josh were telling me about some of the recent paranormal experiences they had in this house. It started with noises and the sounds of things moving around when you're on one floor, but you hear it coming from another floor of the house. And then things escalated and actually things started moving. Things started getting thrown. One night, Jack woke up to the sound of broken glass.

• 7:41Corinne Vien?

When he went to investigate, he found a bar of soap that was originally in the shower, now in the bathroom sink. It looked like it had been thrown at the mirror above the sink, which shattered the mirror. There was mirror glass everywhere in the bathroom. That's violent. I know. So scary. Now, at this time, I was atheist as fuck. I did not believe in the concept of the afterlife. We lived, we died, we went into the ground. We contributed to the cycle of life. That is what I believed. Ah, how naive and silly I was back then. They told me a few stories and I just kind of wrote them off as boys trying to scare me. We moved on from the ghost story and moved our way into the basement where they had a Jacuzzi. I know, looking back as a homeowner, I'm like, what the fuck?

• 8:25Corinne Vien?

Don't you want to avoid moisture and mold? I mean, in theory, that does sound sick. Yeah. It was a large basement, which was also their laundry area, a dirt bike workshop and storage. Oh, my God, just like Jacuzzi next to the dirt. How big is this basement? We brought the iHome downstairs and we plugged it into the wall. I know, I'm aging myself here. And then I set up the iPod and put on some tunes. Eventually, Jack realized that his phone was gone. This was a flip phone, and this is important. As we were sitting in the Jacuzzi chatting, the music turned off, thinking, okay, this is just a glitch. And I'm closest to the iHome, I offered to get out and turn it back on. But it wasn't off. It just looked like maybe the volume had been dialed back all the way to zero.

• 9:06Corinne Vien?

As I lifted my hand to turn it back up, the music shot to full volume, scaring the ever loving shit out of me, causing me to jump backwards, hit the edge of the Jacuzzi, flipping over the side and splurging. Oh, my God. Ow, that also sounds painful. That's like when you watch those, uh, like back when they had those like TV shows that was all about like America's Funniest Home Videos. Injured or like big fails or whatever. I feel like that would be, if that was on camera. Oh, yeah. This would be that. I feel like I would watch that and then whose line is it anyway? Whose line was so good. Oh, my God. As I came up from the water, I could see Jack and Josh staring at the staircase. Immediately, the energy in the room shifted and I felt like the room was full of static energy.

• 9:50Corinne Vien?

We could hear something moving around at the top of the stairs, but no one was home except for us. As I started to ask them if they were fucking with me, we all heard something. And I will never, ever forget it. It was the loudest, and I mean, the loudest laughter I have ever heard. It sounded like it was coming from all angles of the room, echoing in every corner, up the staircase. So you couldn't tell exactly where it was coming from. And it sounded female. It sounded demonic. It was one of the worst sounds I have ever heard. Even while typing this and remembering that sound, the hairs on the back of my neck are starting to raise up. Almost immediately when we heard this cackle, I noticed Jack's phone all the way across the basement,

• 10:32Corinne Vien?

in the furthest corner, lighting up, going off and emitting lights that his phone did not have.

• 10:39Corinne Vien?

This was the early 2000s. It was a flip phone. It didn't have any color or anything but the monochromatic green, gray screen and black lettering. Millennials know what I'm talking about. Good old classic Motorola vibes. My eyes widened. My heart started pounding and I threw myself into the boys because I was absolutely terrified. As they saw where my eyes went and they noticed the phone, the laughter around us started amplifying and this time it came from right behind us.

• 11:08Sabrina Deana-Roga?

It's like literally like trapping them. It doesn't matter where you go, you're not safe. I'm ethereal and everywhere.

• 11:15Corinne Vien?

I shot out of the jacuzzi. I ran out the basement door. I ran into the backyard. I was shaking. I was crying. I was so confused. What just happened? Because truly I cannot explain it. It was the middle of February in eastern Washington.

• 11:28Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  So freezing.

• 11:29Corinne Vien?

It was cold, probably like 15 degrees outside. There was snow on the ground. I was wet. I was barefoot. I didn't have any of my things because I left my keys, my wallet and all my belongings on the first floor of the house. But I refused to go back inside. I would rather die of hypothermia. I told Jack that he needed to go get my things and that they could come with me and stay at my house if they wanted. And I deal with explaining two boys staying the night to my mom in the morning. The boys went in to get my things and they decided to stay at Josh's house down the street. So I went home and then I never went back to that house again.

• 12:01Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  Fair.

• 12:02Corinne Vien?

Fast forward to the following summer, I got a call from Jack as I was visiting my family in San Diego. Jack would many times just show up at my house and give me a call saying he was outside. So I answered his call immediately saying, hey, Jack, I'm actually not home. I'm in San Diego. He cut me off. He said, we need to talk. I said, okay, is everything okay?

• 12:22Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  The drama.

• 12:23Corinne Vien?

He goes on and asks me if I remember what happened at his house in the winter. Of course I remember what happened in that fucking house in the winter. Well, here's what he told me. His dad was doing laundry in the basement and heard someone coming down the stairs. He turned back to find a girl with long blond hair and a light blue dress on. He said, hey, Lauren, I didn't know you were over as he turned back to finish the laundry. The girl on the stairs didn't respond, so then he turned back around and she was gone.

• 12:55Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  It looked like Lauren.

• 12:56Corinne Vien?

Lauren, I am Lauren, the entity presented as me. My form, my face. Was it a witch, a demon, a doppelganger? What do you think? I'll never know because I never went back to that house. And unfortunately, we all did lose touch as we went different directions after high school. Stay spooky. See you on the other side, Lauren.

• 13:17Sabrina Deana-Roga?

Well, yeah, that's an experience you'll certainly never forget.

• 13:20Corinne Vien?

Yeah. Oh, and to have confirmation to from like an adult. Not that you need confirmation from anyone else, but like, I feel like there's always something nice about like the a parent in the house also having something happen. Because they're the ones to tell you like, oh, it's just your imagination. Oh, it was just, it's the house settling.

• 13:37Sabrina Deana-Roga?

Deny it when they experience it too.

• 13:40Corinne Vien?

Ah, and it wasn't just like his dad glanced back and was like, oh, it's a girl, so it must be Lauren. It was like.

• 13:47Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  It fully looks like her.

• 13:48Corinne Vien?

It looked like Lauren in a blue dress.

• 13:49Sabrina Deana-Roga?

I'm interested to know how things went for Josh and Jack, like when Lauren wasn't around, just like the family in general in that house. Cause it almost seems like it reached its pinnacle when Lauren was there.

• 14:04Corinne Vien?

  Yeah.

• 14:05Sabrina Deana-Roga?

And like was performing for Lauren.

• 14:07Corinne Vien?

Right. Although like her dad, yeah, cause it's weird because her dad got a full body apparition.

• 14:12Sabrina Deana-Roga?

But that's nothing in comparison to cackling surrounding you.

• 14:16Corinne Vien?

Right. Like you would assume that that Jack and Josh would tell Lauren, since they were still friends throughout like high school. If other things had happened, like really intense things, even though she wasn't over the house.

• 14:29Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  Cause he called for this.

• 14:30Corinne Vien?

Right. And up until this point, it was just.

• 14:33Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  So Lauren, it was you.

• 14:34Corinne Vien?

  noises around the house.

• 14:35Sabrina Deana-Roga?

Your third eye was always begging to be opened.

• 14:37Corinne Vien?

Something did not like you being a part of the friend group here. Something was jealous.

• 14:43Sabrina Deana-Roga?

• 16:31Sabrina Deana-Roga?

Okay, well, I have a story about near-death experience.

• 16:37Corinne Vien?

  Oh.

• 16:37Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  And timeline switches.

• 16:39Corinne Vien?

  Oh, shit.

• 16:41Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  Yeah.

• 16:41Corinne Vien?

  These things trip me out.

• 16:43Sabrina Deana-Roga?

I know. It was also hard to pick for this because we didn't have a topic and I...

• 16:47Corinne Vien?

Because there's so much to choose from.

• 16:49Sabrina Deana-Roga?

There's so much to choose from, and I'm also just so naturally drawn to demons, but I tried to be, I tried to be a little bit different and keep you all on your toes today. So, look, my first story is not demons. It is a little...

• 17:01Corinne Vien?

  Shocking.

• 17:02Sabrina Deana-Roga?

I know. Who is she? Okay.

• 17:04Corinne Vien?

  Who is she?

• 17:05Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  That's a secret I'll never tell.

• 17:09Sabrina Deana-Roga?

Okay, this is from Cecily. Hello Sabrina and Corinne. I have taken a step to email you once and twice, and now I finally feel confident sharing this story. It's basically the first time I've ever shared it. I have always had memory issues, which I blame mostly on natural reasons, like trauma, self-preservation, etc. But lately, it's gotten worse. I've gotten checked out multiple times, and I have no problems with my head that should cause this, but the more of these experiences here that I've had, the worse my memory gets.

• 17:40Corinne Vien?

Oh, I don't like this, because this already makes me think that the memory is not there, not because of a memory problem or stress or whatever, but because like truly you're being... you're blacking out.

• 17:52Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  Your mind is being erased.

• 17:54Corinne Vien?

  Yes.

• 17:55Sabrina Deana-Roga?

Okay, let's go back in time when I was around 15. I was out by the beach in harbor with a group of friends who all just give initials. So T, C, J, E, M, and K. So it's one, two, three, four, five, six people. So M is Jay's older brother. T is Jay's best friend. C is Jay's girlfriend. K is M's girlfriend. E is our mutual friend. If M wants to go to Jay's house, and it's three miles away, I feel like we're doing one of those word problems.

• 18:24Corinne Vien?

Oh my gosh, I never, ever was able to figure that out.

• 18:27Sabrina Deana-Roga?

Okay, so if those details are confusing, which it might be, we can always revisit that. But they are important to make some sense. So we're hanging out. J, T, and M are in the water splashing around, while K and E are changing into their suits, and C and I are talking. We join E and K as they finish changing, and K goes and joins the boys in the water. The rest of us stand on the bridge over a small pond-like structure that exits into the open water and the harbor. We're having fun, making jokes, when the guys who are in the water ask me to join the rest of them. And I say, "No, I'm not swimming, sorry." They all look at me weirdly. Jay asks why I'm not swimming, and I explain I'm deadly afraid of water, like any water, showers and bathtubs included. I am so afraid I will drown,

• 19:12Sabrina Deana-Roga?

no matter how unrealistic a fear it might be.

• 19:16Corinne Vien?

  Hmm, many lives, many masters.

• 19:19Sabrina Deana-Roga?

Jay is laughing at me when C jabs him, and E and K start trying to convince me to just dip my toes in, just dip in for five minutes. I felt bad, but still, no, I'm terrified. So C walks up to me on the bridge and says, hey, I'm afraid as well, so what if we jump in together? M tells me he's great at swimming, gives me some tips to foolproof swimming to the surface, et cetera, et cetera. I mull it over, and I don't know why, but for some reason, I agreed. C and I stand up on the railing of the bridge, holding hands, and we count down together from five. We reach one, and I notice that C freezes up, but I just let go of her hand and I plunge in. Yep, I jump in, holding my breath on the way in, and I feel the water surround me.

• 20:02Sabrina Deana-Roga?

I open my eyes, and rather unwillingly, I try to start to swim to the top, which I can see the top, thanks to the burning white sun, at the top of the water's edge. I use my arms to push through the water, my legs to gain some speed, but I'm seriously stuck in place.

• 20:19Corinne Vien?

  Oh my god.

• 20:20Sabrina Deana-Roga?

I start panicking internally when a voice tells me, calm down, it's going to be okay. So I let the calm take over me, and I know I am sinking. I see the water's surface get further and further away, and suddenly I realize what's happening. I try to scream, but instead of screaming, I swallow all my air I held in and a mouthful of icky water. Finally, I accept it. I've wasted all the air I had held in, and now I'm sinking, and no one is coming for me.

• 20:46Corinne Vien?

  My gosh.

• 20:47Sabrina Deana-Roga?

I feel the rocks on the bottom of the water under my feet, and I feel too weak to fight. I look at the surface where a big, white, burning light starts growing, and it breaks through the surface of the water and comes towards me. And I am filled with an absolute calm state of mind. I close my eyes, and I'm like, okay, I'm going to die. When all of a sudden, I feel the water shake violently, and something grabs my arm and grabs around my waist. I get to the surface, and I start spitting water out and continue as I'm being dragged onto the ground. And I slowly hear two girls screaming and two guys arguing while someone else is sobbing. I'm handed a towel by M, who is asking me a thousand different questions, trying to see if I'm actually okay.

• 21:29Sabrina Deana-Roga?

J is being scolded by the others, while E is trying to drive me off, and C is crying, asking, why did you jump? Why didn't you come back up? I'm shaking, trying to understand what happened, but I can't make sense of anything. Finally, I look at C saying, I agreed to jump, and as I said before, I can't swim, I sank. I tried all I could, but I couldn't get to the surface.

• 21:48Corinne Vien?

Oh my, wait, I didn't register before that she couldn't swim.

• 21:51Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  I don't think I did either.

• 21:53Corinne Vien?

  To jump. Why would you?

• 21:54Sabrina Deana-Roga?

I thought she was just afraid.

• 21:55Corinne Vien?

I thought you were just afraid too.

• 21:59Corinne Vien?

Oh my gosh. If you can't swim, don't go in the water.

• 22:03Sabrina Deana-Roga?

In the end, tea brings me home and helps me get some food and change her clothes. I calmly tell my parents and they look at me simply, asking, well, why didn't you just swim to the top? And I explained that I can't swim. My dad shakes his head. That can't be. You were an amazing swimmer as a child. And I'm like, excuse me, dad? What? He then fetches a diploma that I apparently got when I was five years old from a swim team that said, great swimmer. Lots of knowledge on advanced strokes, making good time every lesson. Great job. And I just stared at flabbergasted because I don't even remember going to swim lessons. But apparently I did.

• 22:35Corinne Vien?

Well, that's so weird. Like, did they not go into the pool every summer? Like, swim in the lake? It was just, you graduate from swim lessons at five and then you never swim again? Or is this the memory?

• 22:49Sabrina Deana-Roga?

It's like, all of the memories related to swimming have disappeared from Cecily's life. I'm also so confused because I feel like there was like a weird glitch happening at the time that they jumped. Like, why didn't she jump with Cecily?

• 23:02Corinne Vien?

Well, I was almost thinking too, like the sinking to the bottom. Like the friends yelling and the whole like reaction at the top. I actually was surprised that that did happen because I was thinking that it was like reliving the past memory beneath the water of dying and drowning. And that Cecily would just come up to the top and they'd be like, wasn't that fun?

• 23:21Sabrina Deana-Roga?

It's crazy. Okay, second story. So about three or four years after this drown, near drowning story, I had an operation scheduled. I was under full anesthetic, so I have no clue how this happened. And I'd been in operations before where I had no issues. But this time, I felt like I was floating over my body. I was seeing the shelves, the number of nurses and doctors. I heard them talking. I heard the operating doctor ask a nurse to hand them a scalpel. I heard suction. I need a suture right here. All of it. Along with the clattering of the surgical instruments and the beeping of my heart monitor. And it traumatized me deeply. Suddenly, as I'm floating there, I felt like I was being drawn higher and higher. When all of a sudden I was jilted back into my body. The doctor is luckily done with the operation at this point.

• 24:07Sabrina Deana-Roga?

Look at me with a stare that I'll never forget. Saying, whoa, you woke up way faster than you ever should have.

• 24:14Corinne Vien?

Ew, that is not what you want to hear when you're on the table.

• 24:17Sabrina Deana-Roga?

Unfortunately, they were done. Like, could you imagine waking up mid-surgery?

• 24:20Corinne Vien?

I mean, but like, she did.

• 24:23Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  Yeah.

• 24:24Corinne Vien?

She just wasn't fully there. Cause she heard it all.

• 24:27Sabrina Deana-Roga?

It says, turns out I was apparently about to wake up during the middle of the surgery and they had to give me more anesthetic to stay knocked out during the surgery.

• 24:36Sabrina Deana-Roga?

And I woke up fully mentally there and I even remember them taking out the breathing tube, which by the way fricking hurts. And I don't know, this is just like a out of body experience I get, but it was weird how I kept floating higher and higher. It just felt different. It almost feels like her soul registered it as her body being destroyed or like, it was like, oh, time to leave the body because it's dying.

• 24:58Corinne Vien?

Yeah. It's interesting because I feel like a lot of people who have like medical out of body experiences, they happen during an operation, during surgery.

• 25:08Sabrina Deana-Roga?

Well, it brings up like, where is consciousness? It's not in your brain. Okay. Finally, this is about the time I firmly believe I almost died. It's pandemic galore. I've gotten the round at this point. I've been in isolation for about three weeks. And I've been given the green light by my doctor to go out when necessary. So I had gone grocery shopping with my then boyfriend. We were in the queue when I started to get heat flashes. So I told him to go ahead and pay. I needed to go step outside to get some air. I start staggering towards the exit, but I have to stop and sit down before I actually exit by the door. I sit for a moment and I start to feel my throat close up. My body starts sweating like I'm in actual hell and my legs feel like pudding. And I need fresh air or I'm going to pass out.

• 25:52Sabrina Deana-Roga?

I truly crawl on all fours out the automatic doors around a corner where an empty spot for bike parking is placed. With the fresh air, I start to feel like maybe I won't die. So I stand up, I take three steps. And then I lose complete control of my body. My eyes go black, my body starts swaying and I feel like I'm falling upwards. Very, very fast. I look up and I see millions of shining stars and a bigger blob of white, yellow light that is not the sun. I knew it wasn't. I study my surroundings and I'm in this sort of tunnel protected from the cold outside, but wearing nothing. Soaring through space? Why do I feel like Cecily's soul is just like not full, not correctly attached to her body?

• 26:37Corinne Vien?

Yeah, or just like the deaths are so present in the memory of the soul that

• 26:45Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  Yeah.

• 26:45Corinne Vien?

That it's almost like Cecily's almost like tripping in a way, like having like a waking trip where it's like, what's truly happening in real life?

• 26:53Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  Is

• 26:54Corinne Vien?

And the memory of a past trauma from a life that doesn't belong in present time?

• 26:59Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  Yeah.

• 27:00Corinne Vien?

Is like blurring and then it's becoming so confusing as to what's actually happening.

• 27:04Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  So crazy.

• 27:05Corinne Vien?

And what Cecily can do. Like, I can't get over the fact that she can't remember this. She's slammed.

• 27:09Sabrina Deana-Roga?

So I look to the sides of this tunnel and all kinds of colors are flying by and I start to see these short clips. I see myself being almost run over at the age of 10. I see myself being bullied. I see myself falling in love with my boyfriend. I see a young adult version of myself in a hospital bed, my boyfriend and my mother and a baby. I see things that have happened, but also things that haven't yet happened. I see one with a group of people and even though I see myself raging and crying, my being in the tunnel that's watching it smiles as if filled with warmth about the memory. I hear myself saying, I forgive and I understand at things that I truly never remember living. I feel a hard bang in the back of my head, but it doesn't hurt.

• 27:51Sabrina Deana-Roga?

I just feel the concrete underneath me. I accept and I forgive in this tunnel and move on. But something told me I shouldn't focus on that or I'd go back. Like I shouldn't focus on the cement. I wanted to stay in this tunnel. I wanted to see it all, look at everything. So I continue to look towards the white yellow blob, which has grown now three times its size. And the feeling I had was near indescribable. I wondered how I ever felt okay in my body on earth because this, this was home. It was warm in a way like my energy was melting into the light, starting with my hands, then my arms, then my feet and my hair. I saw all those I've loved that have passed on, people I feel like I knew in this life. I saw my great grandpa, my great aunt, my grandpa, my family dog, a cat,

• 28:36Sabrina Deana-Roga?

a woman I didn't know where to place, and they were all greeting me, telling me and letting me feel that they loved me unconditionally and that I was welcome, that this was home and that this was the other side. I heard laughter and I saw my brother playing with one girl who I know was my supposed to be daughter and other kids. It felt like this picture perfect family picnic, but better, more pure. Nothing could hurt us in here. And I wanted to stay here so, so bad. Like, I felt peace in a way that I never knew possible. But then this woman, who I couldn't place in my life, but I could feel I knew, steps in front of me and says in my ear, "Not yet. It's not time for you." And she pushes me, pushes me so hard down the tunnel

• 29:19Sabrina Deana-Roga?

that I feel like I'm falling 10 times faster than I was coming up. And then I was back in my body. And the first thing I felt was the throbbing pain in the back of my head. I breathe in air that did not feel clean, like whatever that other place was. And I open my eyes and cry. I ask out in the open, laying there in the concrete, all alone. Why couldn't I come back home? I felt cheated, and sometimes I still do. My boyfriend now comes out of the store and walks over to me. I tell him the gist of things and he's super weirded out. He's never been a big believer and he had a look of, "Well, that's surely different, um, but what the heck did you see?" He was sure that I had a concussion, which would explain the visions, according to him. But the visuals started before I even hit the ground.

• 30:03Sabrina Deana-Roga?

Doctor said I was fine and that I didn't get hit hard enough to have a concussion. When I told them everything that- But your soul got knocked out of you. Yeah, literally. They didn't seem concerned. Whatever happened, I believe someone or something was trying to watch over me. I'm really confused at this. Like, was it a near-death experience? Why was I called up just to be dismissed and sent back to my body? Despite my ex, the only person who knows about this is my mom. I've told her because ever since, even though I feel bad about missing the big blob, the warmth, and, you know, everyone on the other side, I feel like I was called up. After this experience, I have started to forget people that I grew up with. I'll meet them in public and ask my mom, "Who are they?" I'll forget my hobbies, or I'll remember wrong.

• 30:47Sabrina Deana-Roga?

Sometimes I'll have a wrong memory for a scar that I got. And my mom will have to correct me and tell me I got it in a different way, but I have no memory of. So now I'm wondering, does near-death experience change your memories or weaken them? Or did I switch timelines to one where not only did I swim well, but details from my childhood are different? And that's why I feel like I'm forgetting? I don't know. Thanks for creating a space where these stories can be sent in. I don't feel as frightened of what people will think, or that people will think, wow, she's nuts. And if they do, that's fine. I know what I saw. I know what I heard. And I hope to learn more and let others know if this happened to you. It happened to me too, and you were not alone. Stay spooky from Cecily.

• 31:31Corinne Vien?

It's interesting because the very first story, I was thinking a lot about like past lives and how those deaths come forward, but just like what she was saying at the very end where it seems like a timeline switch. I would almost argue that it wasn't just a jump into a different life. I would argue that there might be multiple jumps happening.

• 31:49Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  Constantly.

• 31:50Corinne Vien?

  Constantly, which is very disorienting.

• 31:53Sabrina Deana-Roga?

Very. I mean, to, it's like you can't even trust yourself because everything is not lining up.

• 32:02Corinne Vien?

Yeah. Well, and it's interesting too, that like some of these things and the memories and just like strangeness is happening. As she's awake, because I feel like a lot of times when people talk about like jumping to a different timeline, it's like there's a car accident. Or they're just asleep and then they wake up and everything is different.

• 32:18Sabrina Deana-Roga?

I mean, there are a lot of accidents and things happening that are causing.

• 32:22Corinne Vien?

Yeah, but she's not unconscious for them.

• 32:25Sabrina Deana-Roga?

I mean, kinda. She was drowning.

• 32:28Corinne Vien?

Well, I guess we don't know if she was unconscious because maybe she was, and then she just immediately jumped to a different.

• 32:33Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  Right.

• 32:34Corinne Vien?

  Timeline.

• 32:35Sabrina Deana-Roga?

She was falling. I really do believe that like the tethering that happens when a soul picks a body, maybe just wasn't done as securely.

• 32:43Corinne Vien?

Yeah, you're missing a couple knots.

• 32:46Sabrina Deana-Roga?

We need, we need more sutures, as the surgeon said.

• 32:49Corinne Vien?

Let's figure out how to use this to your advantage.

• 32:52Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  Right.

• 32:53Corinne Vien?

Like, I feel like there's some really interesting things you could do. Yeah, but if you can like actually learn to jump to different timelines, that'd be sick. Go somewhere that you can swim.

• 33:05Sabrina Deana-Roga?

I, I would rather be able to control it than just be like, well, I don't know when it's gonna happen next.

• 33:11Corinne Vien?

Oh my gosh, that would be terrifying. And then I would also not to like create fear and anxiety. But like when big things happen that you're excited about in your life, part of me would be nervous, like, am I about to jump somewhere and lose this?

• 33:25Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  Yeah.

• 33:26Corinne Vien?

But then you won't remember losing it either, because you won't remember that it even happened.

• 33:31Sabrina Deana-Roga?

But it does seem like Cecily remembers something from her real or original timeline. And it's the new timeline that is like gaslighting her to question her memories. But I, what I will say, so the mem, like the feeling of the tunnel and all these memories, like in colors and visuals going by her.

• 33:48Corinne Vien?

  Yeah.

• 33:48Sabrina Deana-Roga?

Reminds me so much of Penny Whitbrodt, the conversation we have with her.

• 33:52Corinne Vien?

  Oh, yeah.

• 33:53Sabrina Deana-Roga?

And it also makes me think, like, think of how many things Cecily saw that hadn't yet happened.

• 33:58Corinne Vien?

  Mm hmm.

• 33:59Sabrina Deana-Roga?

Which is kind of beautiful in this way of like, there are still these beautiful memories for you to have in this life. And when it is your time, you'll be able to go through this tunnel remembering and fondly being like, I'm so glad all of these things happened. Rather than seeing them, but never getting to live them.

• 34:16Corinne Vien?

Yeah, it is interesting because it's, part of me is still like, well, are all of those things for her in this timeline now? Because she was also saying-

• 34:23Sabrina Deana-Roga?

What timeline is she? We don't know.

• 34:25Corinne Vien?

That the being like watching was smiling fondly, like her version was watching with like fond memories of what it was. But then it's also like, what is time? Did all of these things already happen and your soul knows it?

• 34:38Sabrina Deana-Roga?

It's all, everything, everywhere, all at once, like literally.

• 34:41Corinne Vien?

  Who are we?

• 34:42Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  It makes no sense.

• 34:43Corinne Vien?

Hot dog finger people, that's who we are.

• 34:45Sabrina Deana-Roga?

Well, if you've had a similar experience, please email us so that we can, we can read more of these. And also let Cecily know, there are others like her.

• 34:53Corinne Vien?

Yeah, I mean, certainly not alone. I feel like we've read a couple of things, a couple of stories similar. But also sometimes I get so lost on Reddit and TikTok where people are talking about the timeline shifts and jumps. The past memories are getting like trapped in a dream and living an entire eighty years and then waking up again and they're somewhere else.

• 35:11Sabrina Deana-Roga?

Crazy. We should do a Reddit episode on timeline glitches.

• 35:15Corinne Vien?

  On this, yeah.

• 36:18Corinne Vien?

Okay, I have an email from Patty. It's called "Traveling Haunted Port Cities."

• 36:23Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  Ooh.

• 36:24Corinne Vien?

"Hey ladies, hello from Mexico City. Love your podcast, new listener, and I've already fallen in love with the show." When I hear these stories, sometimes, just every once in a while, I'm like, are these maybe fabricated? But then again, I have some real paranormal instances that I wouldn't want anyone to think I'm lying either. See, that's the joy of paranormal stories.

• 36:43Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  Right.

• 36:43Corinne Vien?

It's like, sometimes you're like, I can't believe that happened to someone.

• 36:46Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  And also-

• 36:47Corinne Vien?

And then it happens to you.

• 36:48Sabrina Deana-Roga?

We have decided between, amongst the both of us, that we are never going to judge your stories, because who are we to say what you believe you experienced and what you literally did experience is not true? That's not our job. We are here purely to share them.

• 37:03Corinne Vien?

Yeah. Every once in a while, we're like, you know, just for the sake of not instilling so much fear, like, there's an attempt, like, even when we experience something paranormal, it's like, can we debunk it?

• 37:13Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  Yeah.

• 37:14Corinne Vien?

But it's, it's not debunking with like, it has to be debunked. It's like, what if? Was that one tiny grain in that whole story?

• 37:22Sabrina Deana-Roga?

Especially if it's really scary, we try to, we try to spin it.

• 37:24Corinne Vien?

  Yeah, yeah, yeah.

• 37:25Sabrina Deana-Roga?

But we, we believe, we believe, we believe in you.

• 37:28Corinne Vien?

How could we not believe? We have our own experience.

• 37:30Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  Yeah, seriously.

• 37:31Corinne Vien?

It's crazy. Okay. Back when I was 21, my friend got her hands on a da-da-da, your favorite da-da-da.

• 37:40Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  Ouija board.

• 37:41Corinne Vien?

  Ouija board.

• 37:44Corinne Vien?

The first time we tried playing with the Ouija board, it was four of us art school friends in this little tiny apartment in Nob Hill in San Francisco. As creative art students, we had a large photography paper photo backdrop in the apartment. So obviously we created a little tent out of it. We turned off all of the electronics, we turned the breakers off and then huddled into the tent with the Ouija board. Fingers on the little hand thingy. I asked, is there anyone out there? Nothing happened. The photographer friend definitely had a blocked energy, was not being open and was making some nervous jokes.

• 38:19Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  Hmm.

• 38:20Corinne Vien?

Soon after starting, our other friend came home from his work shift, saw us in the tent and he wanted to play. He took the photographer's place in the tent and the photographer left. Starting again, fingers on the little hand thingy. I asked, is there anyone out there? And it started moving. We all looked at each other startled. It started slowly spelling K A V K A. I asked Kafka?

• 38:47Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  The hands.

• 38:48Corinne Vien?

  Kafka, is that you?

• 38:49Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  A France. Felt differently, but.

• 38:51Corinne Vien?

The hand thingy absolutely shocked over to yes. Without a doubt, we had made a connection. And at this point, we were all scared. We're in this little tent and we're starting to hear lots of wind bustling around the tent. But we're inside of the apartment in a completely controlled space. Closed windows, there's no chance of a draft or wind. And they turned the breakers off. So it's not like they're like air or anything's kicking on.

• 39:17Sabrina Deana-Roga?

Had a full on seance happening.

• 39:19Corinne Vien?

We scaredly continued. When were you born? The hand thingy shot around the board and spelled out eighteen fifty-two.

• 39:27Sabrina Deana-Roga?

Oh, I just got like a wave, a gust of little wind in here. Like literally it just hit my face. It could be.

• 39:33Corinne Vien?

  Kafka, are you here?

• 39:35Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  Our heater, but like.

• 39:35Corinne Vien?

We do have a heater going on.

• 39:37Sabrina Deana-Roga?

But I have never felt it like that. I was like a whoosh.

• 39:40Corinne Vien?

  Maybe it wasn't my breath.

• 39:43Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  Traveled around.

• 39:46Sabrina Deana-Roga?

The air didn't want it, it sent it back.

• 39:48Corinne Vien?

Dragon's breath, my coffee breath. At this point, we were all just so scared. I didn't know what else to think. Too scared to continue. I moved the hand thing you took goodbye to close out the session. And at that exact moment, the tent ripped open and a gush of wind left the tent.

• 40:05Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  Shit.

• 40:06Corinne Vien?

The fuck. We were freaked. Later, we found the date the most interesting of the experience. So if you're familiar with San Francisco history, San Francisco's gold rush started in 1848, the year Kafka said was in line with early settlers at the time. We shared the story with a few people and we learned that Kafka was actually a common name as well. A name I had never heard before.

• 40:30Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  Yeah, especially spelt that way.

• 40:32Corinne Vien?

Yeah. Afterwards, whenever we mentioned or joked about our new ghost friend Kafka in the apartment, we would hear loud bangs and things would start falling. This was my very first Ouija board experience and with the same group of friends.

• 40:44Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  Damn.

• 40:45Corinne Vien?

We did decide to do Ouija a few more times on the road. The two Canadians of the group and I traveled together to Victoria, British Columbia, Canada. I stayed with them in a rural house in the woods.

• 40:56Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  Terrifying.

• 40:57Corinne Vien?

  Felt haunted.

• 40:58Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  Oh.

• 40:59Corinne Vien?

I had weird dreams and I generally felt a presence there. The host confirmed the spooky house feels and had a few stories of some random things and things being opened or closed. So we decided, ah, let's draw a Ouija board and try again.

• 41:15Corinne Vien?

So we drew the board and we started at night. Immediately, the shot glass, which was our improvised planchette, was floating across the board. We had made a connection.

• 41:26Sabrina Deana-Roga?

Damn. I mean, hey, it says that your intuition of whether a place is haunted or not is very keen and apt.

• 41:33Corinne Vien?

Aside from the moving shot glass, we were most surprised by what was happening around us. We heard a crazy loud drum rhythmic beating and beating around the house. And the drum beat was loud, ominous. It was all encompassing, the whole house. There was no way that someone's speaker could have been going off and making this. It didn't feel like a positive energy either. Scared shitless, we decided to say goodbye very quickly.

• 42:01Sabrina Deana-Roga?

Well, and you're also in like a rural area. So it's not like you're gonna escape to a populated city easily.

• 42:08Corinne Vien?

Let's go walk around Target. Like, that's not gonna happen. On the same road trip, I went back down to Seattle. I stayed with a friend and I had not played Ouija with him yet, but agreed to play after sharing some recent thrilling adventures. I made another makeshift board. He lived down the road from the cemetery and so naturally we went there at night and sat in the gazebo. Is anyone out there? The shock blast started moving around and it spelled a name. It was a while ago. I have a terrible memory, so I forget exactly what the name was that was spelt out. But we felt several orbs all around us, these glowing energies. And I have never experienced such a strong gathering of spirits. I then asked for the birth year of the person we made contact with.

• 42:50Corinne Vien?

I then realized I had failed to write numbers down on the makeshift board. Facepalm. My friend at the moment called it quits, so we just said goodbye. While walking away, my friend told me that his friend Adam had recently died by suicide and was buried in that cemetery. He said that the name that came through the board was Adam's last name. This was an insanely heavy experience.

• 43:13Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  But it's also really beautiful.

• 43:15Corinne Vien?

I know. And also like her friend not even saying anything.

• 43:19Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  Right, just taking it in.

• 43:20Corinne Vien?

Yeah, probably just trying to like comprehend what was going on and absorbing the experience.

• 43:26Sabrina Deana-Roga?

Cause it's like so fresh and sad. Damn.

• 43:30Corinne Vien?

I realized that we said goodbye to all of these connections really quickly. So I may not make for the best story here. However, we were way too scared to continue with any of these connections. But I sort of decided to not keep playing after hearing about the Exorcist Girl who was possessed via a Ouija board experience. But one thing that I realized is a connection between all of the cities that I played in. San Francisco, British Columbia, Seattle. They are all popular port towns and port towns are usually known for being haunted. See you on the other side. Cheers, Patty.

• 44:04Sabrina Deana-Roga?

Patty, these stories are the best stories.

• 44:08Corinne Vien?

Yeah, also Patty, I feel like you're the common denominator here.

• 44:11Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  I was just gonna say.

• 44:11Corinne Vien?

For things to escalate so quickly, like.

• 44:14Sabrina Deana-Roga?

They say like two things back and forth and then Patty's like goodbye, but they're getting the most activity. And it's like seances happening, like the energy is shifting so dramatically. Like. Yeah, like are you, you might be a medium, Patty. I think so. I feel like you gotta keep, not to encourage you to use a Ouija board again, but keep tapping in. I mean, you don't have to use a Ouija board, but like, yeah, something. I feel like there's definitely something here. I have a story from our listener Blake, she/her, and it is called, "My Bloody Mary Sleep Talking Incident." Oh, yeah. Hey. Hey. This is the scariest thing that's ever happened to me and I have no memory of it. So I'll set the scene.

• 44:54Sabrina Deana-Roga?

I have talked in my sleep for as long as I can remember, but it's usually not much. It's just like mumbling as I fall asleep or, you know, sometimes I laugh or scream in my sleep and I am so sorry to my college roommates. You had to suffer through that. Oh, man. But this happened around four years ago. I had been living with my then boyfriend, who is now my husband, and we had just been living together for like a couple of months. I had just started practicing witchcraft and had a number of protections on our apartment. At 3:00 AM, my boyfriend was awake due to insomnia and he was on his phone. When he hears me start to say, keep in mind Blake is fully asleep, "Bloody Mary, full of grace, teach me something not to kill."

• 45:37Sabrina Deana-Roga?

What? Oh my God, move out. Then apparently I nodded at our hallway door. Yeah, breakup. Then I nodded at our hallway door and said in a sing-songy voice, "Over there."

• 45:57Sabrina Deana-Roga?

This is so scary. He rightfully so shakes me awake terrified and tells me to immediately cleanse the home, which was a big deal because at the time he was not a big believer in the supernatural. But he was freaked. He tells me what I just said, and I was mad because he woke me up from a dream about a massive, beautiful oak tree, and I really wanted to get back to my dream.

• 46:20Corinne Vien?

So Blake, she was dreaming about an oak tree, but her boyfriend was getting taunted by like a Bloody Mary-loving spirit.

• 46:28Sabrina Deana-Roga?

Yeah, Bloody Mary, which is also like Mary full of grace. It's like mocking prayers, Catholic prayers. Teach me something not to kill.

• 46:35Corinne Vien?

Oh, I'll never leave. This is beautiful. Lovely oak tree. Just like having a grand time. Ew, I hate that, that there are two different experiences happening at the exact same time. It's not like she had a dream of something weird, or like couldn't remember her dream. She was, she was placed somewhere else within her consciousness.

• 46:52Sabrina Deana-Roga?

Is where she taps in, like she plugs into the like avatar.

• 46:56Corinne Vien?

Oh, my gosh, she puts her little tail forward.

• 46:58Sabrina Deana-Roga?

Yeah. He turned on all the lights. I cleansed, and he wouldn't let me go back until I fully did everything and stayed awake with him for about an hour. This apartment had some weird energy attached to it, just typical things like lights turning on and off, hands touching my back, casual, typical things.

• 47:16Corinne Vien?

And I would, I don't know that everyone would describe that as a typical haunting.

• 47:19Sabrina Deana-Roga?

I also would hear my boyfriend when he wasn't speaking. This never fazed me because I grew up in haunted homes, but my boyfriend had never experienced anything like it and struggled to explain what was happening. Can you imagine dating someone, you're like excited to finally move in with one another, and you're like, yeah, I know that she's into the paranormal and like whatnot, but then you move in and all of a sudden you're haunted.

• 47:40Corinne Vien?

You're super haunted. You're being touched all the time.

• 47:43Sabrina Deana-Roga?

I didn't sign up for this.

• 47:44Corinne Vien?

Middle of the night, interrupted by your girlfriend being possessed.

• 47:48Sabrina Deana-Roga?

So long story short, apparently my spooky ass didn't scare him off, and he did still decide to marry me. And now he fully believes in all things paranormal and magical.

• 47:57Corinne Vien?

Yes, you converted him. He had no choice.

• 48:03Corinne Vien?

Like, how could he experience all of that and still say that he doesn't believe?

• 48:08Sabrina Deana-Roga?

I have no idea. Like, I hope you find this story interesting and spooky, like.

• 48:12Corinne Vien?

  Oh, yeah, certainly spooky.

• 48:14Sabrina Deana-Roga?

Certainly. Um, okay, I know that we have another story for Patreon, but I do have, I wanted to end the episode on a pleasant story.

• 48:23Corinne Vien?

  Okay.

• 48:23Sabrina Deana-Roga?

It's how we saved someone's life.

• 48:25Corinne Vien?

  How?

• 48:26Sabrina Deana-Roga?

Two girls, one ghost, saved someone's life. And we've heard so many people, you guys have emailed us encounters where our audio will do something.

• 48:34Corinne Vien?

Yeah, it's not actually us. It's the spirit world manipulating the audio recordings of our podcast.

• 48:39Sabrina Deana-Roga?

They're using us as a way to intervene.

• 48:41Corinne Vien?

There's something about the energy of like, the whole community and the belief in the paranormal that specifically with our podcast, I think it's easier for spirits to manipulate. We have done nothing, the two of us sitting on the couch right now.

• 48:53Sabrina Deana-Roga?

I will say, this story, it's on us, but it is the podcast specifically that saves a life. Okay.

• 49:01Corinne Vien?

  Okay.

• 49:02Sabrina Deana-Roga?

This is from Lisa. Hello, my favorite ghostesses. My name is Coralisa, she/her pronouns, but since we're pals, you can just call me Lisa. Okay. Last week, I was rushed to the hospital because of an accidental overdose on prescription medications. And I got to the hospital and my vitals were okay. And I still felt fine, so I thought, and they probably also thought that I had wasted my time going there. So after the ER doctor did her assessment and explained what they were going to do, she was about to leave my room when she noticed that I was listening to your podcast. And she stops me. She starts a conversation, asking me what my favorite episode is and starts telling me what her favorite episode is.

• 49:41Corinne Vien?

Oh, my gosh, I love this. Two listeners uniting.

• 49:44Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  Uniting.

• 49:44Corinne Vien?

  In the ER.

• 49:45Sabrina Deana-Roga?

And then she starts asking if I listen to Morbid as well. And we have a full-on discussion. And as we're having this discussion, my blood pressure completely bottoms out and I coded.

• 49:58Corinne Vien?

Oh my God, I was not expecting that.

• 50:00Sabrina Deana-Roga?

It was a miracle that the doctor was there in the room with me because if it had happened when I was alone, who knows what would have happened. I wasn't hooked up to any machines. They wouldn't have known.

• 50:09Corinne Vien?

No, and having had a few ER trips in the past couple of years, they leave you there alone for a long.

• 50:16Sabrina Deana-Roga?

Have you watched The Pit? They're busy. The Pit is, you would hate it.

• 50:20Corinne Vien?

  I can't watch it.

• 50:21Sabrina Deana-Roga?

Yeah, you would, but it's such a good show.

• 50:23Corinne Vien?

I don't even know what it's about, but no.

• 50:23Sabrina Deana-Roga?

There's so much blood and so much, yeah. But it's about like the ER and just how insane it is. It kind of is like the show 24 where they don't cut. It's like continuous.

• 50:34Corinne Vien?

  I like 24.

• 50:35Sabrina Deana-Roga?

Yeah, but it's in medicine. Anyway, she was still there because we were bonding over your podcast and I really think of it as a miracle. So thank you guys for being there when I needed you.

• 50:46Corinne Vien?

  Dang.

• 50:47Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  Also completely.

• 50:48Corinne Vien?

That was like the spirit world, making the doctor look at your phone to register, keep her there for a moment.

• 50:55Sabrina Deana-Roga?

And actually have her say something because like I feel like it would have been so easy to see it and be like, oh, how fun. We listen to the same thing, but just like,

• 51:02Corinne Vien?

  Right.

• 51:02Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  move on.

• 51:03Corinne Vien?

Yeah, I just keep thinking about like if that hadn't happened, like what if Lisa was in her car driving home?

• 51:09Sabrina Deana-Roga?

Right, because they literally were about to like dismiss her. It was like, oh, your vitals are okay. You're fine. Talk about intervention.

• 51:16Corinne Vien?

  I know.

• 51:16Sabrina Deana-Roga?

Geez. Okay, last little thing, off topic, but I have a question that's been nagging me for years now. I lost my vision seven years ago and I keep wondering what would happen if I were to encounter a ghost. Because I can't see it if it's in front of me. So maybe I guess I could feel the presence if I'm open enough. Have you come across anyone who is visually impaired that has encountered a ghost? And if so, how do they experience them?

• 51:39Corinne Vien?

  Oh, that is interesting.

• 51:41Sabrina Deana-Roga?

Thanks for all you do and thanks for being my guardian angels and spirit. Love, Lisa.

• 51:46Corinne Vien?

I, well, I'm trying to think. I don't really remember if we've read anything like that.

• 51:49Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  I don't know.

• 51:50Corinne Vien?

But at the same time, I'm like, probably 85% of my experiences are not physically seeing with my eyes.

• 51:58Sabrina Deana-Roga?

And then I also feel like some people's experiences when they do see a visual apparition, it's like almost like the image being planted in their brain.

• 52:05Corinne Vien?

Yeah, that's why I think a lot of the times fine is, like every once in a while it'll be, I feel like when it's implanted in your brain, it's like, oh my God, there's a spirit and there's a ghost. And then every time I've like physically seen with my eyes, it takes me a beat to realize I've just seen a spirit.

• 52:19Sabrina Deana-Roga?

Cause it like darts in and out of vision.

• 52:21Corinne Vien?

Yeah, cause I immediately just assume since I saw it with my actual eyes that it's a person.

• 52:25Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  I also feel.

• 52:26Corinne Vien?

I guess it is a person, it's just not a living person.

• 52:28Sabrina Deana-Roga?

I hardly ever see it physically.

• 52:30Corinne Vien?

  Yeah.

• 52:31Sabrina Deana-Roga?

I feel like I feel the energy.

• 52:33Corinne Vien?

Yeah, I feel like a lot of your encounters exist in the dream world too.

• 52:36Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  In the dream world.

• 52:37Corinne Vien?

  In the astral plane.

• 52:38Sabrina Deana-Roga?

Yeah, I was thinking, I haven't had, I shouldn't say that. I was just thinking, it's been a long time since I've had anything happen. But then it really happened in Scotland.

• 52:48Corinne Vien?

This like a couple of months ago.

• 52:51Sabrina Deana-Roga?

And then, well, this episode will come out after, but I'm about to go to a haunted hotel and do an investigation.

• 52:58Corinne Vien?

  Yeah, so.

• 52:59Sabrina Deana-Roga?

So, stay tuned. That's why I was like, I shouldn't say this because I don't want to put that energy out there. I don't want negative things to come my way. I would love.

• 53:08Corinne Vien?

  No.

• 53:08Sabrina Deana-Roga?

I'm gonna continue to manifest this. I would love a back massage and ghost.

• 53:12Corinne Vien?

Yeah, you've said that for years. It hasn't happened yet. So I'm gonna just keep saying it until one day it does. But then I'll freak you out, though.

• 53:19Sabrina Deana-Roga?

No, not if it's like a profesh, like hour-long massage.

• 53:23Corinne Vien?

They turn on the right music.

• 53:24Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  Yeah.

• 53:25Corinne Vien?

It's like dolphins playing in the background, the sound of waves.

• 53:29Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  Yeah.

• 53:29Corinne Vien?

  They use like lavender oil.

• 53:32Sabrina Deana-Roga?

Oh man, this just makes me think last night, Leia, Leia's a cuddler, like, don't get me wrong, but usually she's like, it's like part of routine where it's like, I get in beds, she climbs onto bed, she lays on my chest, she purrs, we cuddle, whatever, and then she goes and lays at the end of the bed. Last night, or this morning, she cuddled in the most precious way that I was like shocked by it. She like fully came in and nuzzled into my like face.

• 53:58Corinne Vien?

  Oh.

• 53:59Sabrina Deana-Roga?

Purged, was like licking me. It was.

• 54:01Corinne Vien?

  Oh, that's so sweet.

• 54:03Sabrina Deana-Roga?

I was like, oh, she's getting so much sweeter in her old age.

• 54:06Corinne Vien?

Yeah, did you feel like the chosen one in that moment?

• 54:08Sabrina Deana-Roga?

Oh, I was like, do not move.

• 54:11Corinne Vien?

Yeah, don't do anything, don't breathe differently, don't cough, like literally nothing to mess this up.

• 54:17Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  So it was so sweet.

• 54:18Corinne Vien?

When animals get like that, it's just like, oh.

• 54:21Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  I know.

• 54:21Corinne Vien?

  It means so much.

• 54:23Sabrina Deana-Roga?

  It does.

• 54:23Corinne Vien?

  Cause they're so pure.

• 54:26Sabrina Deana-Roga?
