• 0:06Mark Normand?

Hey, here we are, folks. We might be drunk. We got a cocktail brewing.

• 0:11Sam Morril?

  A little Negroni.

• 0:12Mark Normand?

Jim sober, and, uh, yeah, you don't mind us drinking, huh?

• 0:16Speaker 02

  No, I don't.

• 0:17Mark Normand?

Okay. Some guys are like that. They're sober.

• 0:19Sam Morril?

You've been sober a long time.

• 0:20Speaker 02

Since I was a young man, yeah, but I never mind. Pot smoke's a little hard, 'cause I still like how that smells. But if guys are doing coke or drinking, I could care less. As long as it's not like something in my sinuses, I don't care.

• 0:30Sam Morril?

  Break out the coke.

• 0:31Speaker 02

  Yeah, please. I encourage that.

• 0:33Sam Morril?

  Cheers, brother. Cheers, guys.

• 0:36Speaker 02

Guys, I'll toast with my La Croix.

• 0:38Mark Normand?

Supposedly bad luck, but who gives a fuck? Luck's a myth.

• 0:41Speaker 02

I've heard that, yeah. I've heard that, uh, I've had guys stop me from toasting with water, and like, "It's bad luck." And like, "No, if I get drunk in your establishment, it's bad luck. I'll be fucking cutting myself on the dance floor."

• 0:53Mark Normand?

Bar rules. Like, when you take a shot and the guy goes... And he's like, "Whoa, you didn't slam it down. You're gonna go gay," or whatever. And you're like, "All right."

• 1:01Sam Morril?

And I make eye contact on toast, but the people that are too aggressive about it, the people that are like one of these, like...

• 1:05Mark Normand?

  Oh, I hate that.

• 1:06Sam Morril?

I'm like, "All right, settle down."

• 1:07Speaker 02

Yeah, there's a whole toast culture, apparently. I wasn't aware of. I'll do it once in a while. Sometimes I don't even clink glasses with people. Like, they'll all be doing it. I know I've missed everybody, and I don't care.

• 1:16Mark Normand?

  Yes, yes, exactly.

• 1:18Speaker 02

I know it would bother them if they knew, but I'm like, "Ah, tough shit. It's a stupid tradition."

• 1:21Mark Normand?

  Ah, it's all silly.

• 1:24Sam Morril?

  Yeah, man.

• 1:25Speaker 02

You ask me, uh, going in, they always ask you, like, "Do you wanna talk about anything?" And it's always, I'm always so tempted to say something really hacky. Like, when people are like, "What do you want us to get into?" I'm like, "Just lead me into my Gump impression."

• 1:43Sam Morril?

Jim, Jim, you're a big Tom Hanks guy, right?

• 1:45Speaker 02

  Yeah, it's fun. Stupid, huh?

• 1:50Mark Normand?

I did, uh, Comics Unleashed, and that's the whole show.

• 1:53Speaker 02

  Yes.

• 1:54Mark Normand?

So, Jim, I hear you have a dog.

• 1:57Speaker 02

I do. That's how I would have done that show, just literal answers. Yes, Byron.

• 2:01Sam Morril?

  Was it you?

• 2:03Mark Normand?

  That was me.

• 2:03Sam Morril?

Yeah, where they were like, "Hey Mark, you like working out?" And you're like, "No, I don't."

• 2:07Mark Normand?

Yeah, I flipped it on him. It was so forced and cheesy, I couldn't handle it.

• 2:11Speaker 02

I never did that show, because they were always like, I think it came after Tough Crowd. It always felt like Tough Crowd, if it was really regimented or not.

• 2:19Mark Normand?

  Yes, yes.

• 2:19Speaker 02

Or spontaneous or not aggressive at all. Yeah, I always thought that was a fairly awful show. I feel, I like watching, I think Andy Kindler called it Comics Uncomfortable, which was such a... It's such a miserable thing to watch guys fake laughing at each other's bits. Like, not calling each other out. "Oh, yeah!" It's just so phony.

• 2:39Mark Normand?

I know. Like, Norm has the ultimate. He did it. And Byron Allen goes, "So, Norm, I hear you're getting older." Because he had a bit about being an old man. And Norm goes, "Yeah, we all are." And Byron was like, "I don't know where to go from here." And then he goes, "I gotta tell you, Byron, this couldn't be more leashed." Which I love.

• 2:56Speaker 03

He made so much money off that show because he owned it. He bought the Weather Channel.

• 3:00Mark Normand?

  I know. That's what we're used to.

• 3:02Sam Morril?

Didn't he have money aside from it, though, too?

• 3:03Speaker 03

  I don't know.

• 3:04Sam Morril?

I think he must have. I don't think he just got rich on Comics Unleashed.

• 3:07Mark Normand?

I think he owned, like, UPN. He had a couple of stations.

• 3:11Speaker 02

Well, he was on, was it Real People he was on, or That's Incredible? It was one of those shows. It was one with Skip Stevenson, Sarah Purcell, Fran Tarkenton. I'm mixing two shows together from the late 70s.

• 3:21Mark Normand?

  Okay.

• 3:22Speaker 02

That's Incredible and Real People, but I think Byron Allen came from one of those.

• 3:26Mark Normand?

Was he, he must have been 10.

• 3:27Speaker 02

He was a young guy. He's probably older than he looks.

• 3:29Mark Normand?

  Yeah.

• 3:30Sam Morril?

Is the Weather Channel a good investment? Can't we just look at our fucking phone?

• 3:33Mark Normand?

  Oh, yeah.

• 3:34Sam Morril?

Who's still watching the Weather Channel?

• 3:35Mark Normand?

  That's a good point.

• 3:36Speaker 02

Well, they have their own app. I wonder if a lot of it is, like, the Weather Channel has, like, segwayed into the app?

• 3:41Mark Normand?

  Yeah.

• 3:42Sam Morril?

Can they just get the free app?

• 3:43Speaker 02

  Yeah, I guess so.

• 3:44Mark Normand?

I remember waiting, local on the eights. You're like, "Oh, at 8 o'clock, they're gonna show our weather." That was exciting.

• 3:49Sam Morril?

You get a hot weather lady?

• 3:50Mark Normand?

  Yeah.

• 3:51Sam Morril?

  Or a grumpy dude.

• 3:52Mark Normand?

And how about that smooth jazz? It was like, "Ba-da-bam-bam-bam."

• 3:55Speaker 02

It's either a hot, attractive woman, or it's some guy that does poppers and blows other guys behind a fucking tree in Central Park.

• 4:01Mark Normand?

  Yeah.

• 4:02Speaker 02

Or weathermen are always getting busted for being on Grindr and fucking...

• 4:04Mark Normand?

That's true. Well, they gotta know when to go in the bushes, you know? They don't wanna go in a rainstorm.

• 4:08Speaker 02

  That is true.

• 4:09Sam Morril?

We found the local weatherman dead in a motel room. Got a belt around his neck.

• 4:14Mark Normand?

Got a piano leg in his ass.

• 4:20Sam Morril?

There is a darkness, but it's weird because there is, like I'll throw, someone will just throw the local news on and there is a weird comfort to it. Even like, even like a shitty show like Good Morning America, you're kind of like, ah, it's kind of comforting. I don't know.

• 4:30Mark Normand?

  It's familiar.

• 4:32Speaker 02

I'll listen to local traffic. Like I, I do like, like on 1010 and 880, like I like local traffic, but there's like a real, a real reason for that. Cause you know, you, you know, you have to get out of the fucking city, but local news, I don't find very, uh, because the stories are just annoying.

• 4:46Mark Normand?

Yeah. Yeah. It's like a cat in a tree or some shit.

• 4:49Speaker 02

Yeah. And I just don't, uh, I don't really care, but I, look, who doesn't miss the old Ernie and Astis, Chuck Scarborough? Remember Sue Simmons? There was all those rumors that she drank too much. You remember? Oh yeah. You're not from here.

• 4:59Mark Normand?

  No, no.

• 4:59Sam Morril?

Oh, New York One. I remember there was a New York One guy, God, the three apples. Remember that guy?

• 5:05Mark Normand?

  Oh, yes.

• 5:06Sam Morril?

He's like, I give this film, three apples. And he used to hang hammered around the cellar all the time. And he would just like drop his name. He's like, I'm the apples guy. And I'm like, I'd be like, no one, no one knows that. Like I'm a native New Yorker and even I'm like, oh, okay. That was the biggest I could give. I remember he tried to pull it on, uh, it was like a New York One and it was only on Time Warner. So I remember he tried to like big, he tried to like brag to Michael Che once and he was like, apples, New York One. And Michael Che, not even trying to be a dick was like, oh, I've got FiOS. I don't know. And you could just see the spirit lift out of him.

• 5:38Mark Normand?

Oh, man. It's like the whiz.

• 5:42Speaker 02

Who is the guy that would do the weather? Uh, Lloyd, Lloyd Lindsay Young.

• 5:45Sam Morril?

  Oh, yeah.

• 5:45Mark Normand?

  Jesus, what a name.

• 5:46Speaker 02

He had this cra- like, hello sunshine. Wouldn't he do like something like that?

• 5:52Mark Normand?

  Yes, that's right.

• 5:52Speaker 02

This is old man talk on a podcast.

• 5:54Mark Normand?

  Yeah.

• 5:55Speaker 02

You guys remember Cronkite announcing K's death?

• 5:57Mark Normand?

Well, you had to have a catchphrase back then. I got three apples, hello, whatever, you know, thumbs up, thumbs down. Look at this guy.

• 6:09Mark Normand?

You gotta have a thing, a hook.

• 6:10Speaker 02

Yeah, he did. Lloyd Lindsay Young. Everybody remembered him.

• 6:13Sam Morril?

He's in bed with his wife. He's like, I got it. I'm the hello guy.

• 6:17Speaker 02

I'll bet you she talked him into it because he would yell into her pussy and she's like, can't have a better idea. Why don't you do that for the weather? Do that one, it's gonna be thunderstorms.

• 6:25Speaker 03

Have you seen this Ernie Anastos clip where he says, "Keep fucking that chicken."

• 6:28Speaker 02

Keep fucking that chicken, yeah, of course, yes.

• 6:30Mark Normand?

  Wait, what's that?

• 6:30Sam Morril?

Play it, if you haven't seen it, it's a classic.

• 6:32Speaker 04

Guy Guardian, and then check that seven day to make your weekend plans.

• 6:35Sam Morril?

Takes a tough man to make a tender forecast, Nick.

• 6:38Speaker 04

  I guess that's me.

• 6:39Sam Morril?

  Keep fucking that chicken.

• 6:41Mark Normand?

  What, what does that mean?

• 6:43Sam Morril?

What, what is the reasoning behind this?

• 6:44Speaker 03

I think he was actually saying, "Keep plucking that chicken."

• 6:47Speaker 02

  Yeah.

• 6:47Mark Normand?

  Oh.

• 6:48Speaker 03

And it sounds like, "Keep fucking that chicken."

• 6:50Speaker 02

Did he say, "Keep fucking it" or "Keep plucking it" though?

• 6:52Speaker 03

I think he meant to say, "Keep plucking that chicken."

• 6:54Speaker 02

  It just slipped out?

• 6:55Speaker 03

  Yeah, yeah, yeah.

• 6:56Speaker 02

Yeah, like the guy who slips up and says something racist when he's talking about like, like the Negro League. You ever see that guy? He got fired?

• 7:01Speaker 03

  Yes.

• 7:01Mark Normand?

  Oh.

• 7:02Speaker 02

  Oh, yeah.

• 7:03Mark Normand?

Quick twitch? Not Jimmy the Greek?

• 7:04Speaker 02

No, no, no, that was, uh, that was about being, uh, bred from slavery. That was about black athletes.

• 7:09Mark Normand?

  Right.

• 7:10Speaker 02

No, this was a guy not long ago who was talking about something and he was talking about like, they had gone to the baseball Hall of Fame and the Negro League. But let's just, let's just say he said it in the more aggressive, uh, fashion.

• 7:20Mark Normand?

  Oh, got it, got it.

• 7:21Speaker 02

Yeah. And it totally slipped out and they, they fired him.

• 7:25Mark Normand?

  A guy recently said on...

• 7:27Speaker 02

That was me in the mirror.

• 7:35Mark Normand?

  But he had to apologize.

• 7:39Mark Normand?

  Will they say it again?

• 7:39Sam Morril?

  What did he say?

• 7:41Speaker 02

  Negro League, yeah.

• 7:47Mark Normand?

  Ooh.

• 7:48Sam Morril?

  Wow.

• 7:49Speaker 02

He kind of caught it and corrected it, but it was already too far.

• 7:53Mark Normand?

  Yeah.

• 7:53Speaker 02

Like, you know what I mean? Like the fender had already hit.

• 7:56Mark Normand?

  Yes.

• 7:56Sam Morril?

Did he get, did he get...

• 7:57Speaker 02

Got fired. I think he got fired.

• 7:59Mark Normand?

Oh, and he's standing next to this guy who looks like he's in like, uh...

• 8:03Speaker 02

  Yeah, Duck Dynasty.

• 8:04Mark Normand?

  Yeah, yeah, thank you.

• 8:06Sam Morril?

  That is rough.

• 8:08Speaker 02

Yeah, that's a rough one because it feels like, there was another one too with something like that where he just slipped and it fucking came out. And you're like, it was a Martin Luther King, uh, thing that he says, yeah, I think he said the name very, very incorrectly. Um, and there was just no fixing it because you know that was in your brain when you said it.

• 8:24Mark Normand?

Yes, in the brain. Well, you know what does piss, like, was it Gruden who had all those, uh, emails leaked?

• 8:29Sam Morril?

  Yeah.

• 8:30Mark Normand?

I'm like, "Come on, it was an email. It's private shit."

• 8:32Sam Morril?

  It wasn't great, though.

• 8:33Mark Normand?

  Oh, wow.

• 8:35Sam Morril?

He was the coach of the, uh, Raiders.

• 8:37Speaker 02

  Oh, yeah.

• 8:38Sam Morril?

He was a great coach. I mean, he, he was a coach of the Bucks too, I think, won the, won the Super Bowl.

• 8:42Mark Normand?

We gotta get him on here.

• 8:44Sam Morril?

  Yeah.

• 8:44Speaker 02

  Why would they...

• 8:45Sam Morril?

Yeah, I saw those emails. I'm like, "He'd be a good guest, Mark."

• 8:47Mark Normand?

  Yeah.

• 8:49Speaker 02

Wait, were they leaked or did it come out in some Sony hack? I think, I think they remember that.

• 8:53Mark Normand?

I think people hated them on the inside and they leaked it.

• 8:56Sam Morril?

  He was a great coach.

• 8:57Speaker 03

It was part of a lawsuit and they were, they were like, let's look at all your work emails. And then they reviewed them and then they released them.

• 9:04Mark Normand?

  Ooh.

• 9:05Speaker 03

  Well, it's like private emails.

• 9:07Speaker 02

  Yeah.

• 9:08Mark Normand?

I'm just saying, if you released my group chat.

• 9:10Speaker 02

  Yeah.

• 9:11Mark Normand?

  It would not be.

• 9:11Sam Morril?

I was at a wedding with a couple of comics on Sunday and Joe List and I were just, just talking shit about so many people. And about five minutes into talking shit, we realized we were standing right in front of a camera. That is rolling and it's supposed to get the toast and we're just like, we looked at each other like, what do we do? So we just turned it off and I'm like, they might've missed the vows. I was like, I don't know. But I was like, fuck that shit.

• 9:35Speaker 02

But you had already said the stuff, so you didn't.

• 9:37Sam Morril?

I know, but I was like, you know what, at that point, like we're gonna, we wanna keep talking shit, so.

• 9:41Mark Normand?

  Damn.

• 9:41Speaker 02

  Oh, that's bad.

• 9:42Mark Normand?

That's, that's our sex tape. You know, like hot people, actors get caught having a sex tape, that's ours, just talking shit.

• 9:48Speaker 02

Comedians get caught trashing the last week's host. It really is not as fun, right?

• 9:52Mark Normand?

  No.

• 9:53Sam Morril?

It's the worst feeling when you're like, man, this guy hasn't written a new bit in a while. And then you look over, that's his phone recording a set.

• 9:58Mark Normand?

Oh, we've all done that one.

• 10:00Speaker 02

  Yeah.

• 10:00Sam Morril?

And you're like, who the fuck records from side stage? What the hell is he doing?

• 10:03Speaker 02

Yeah, it, it's the worst when you're shit talking and you just see that little camera, you gotta look around.

• 10:07Mark Normand?

  Ooh.

• 10:08Speaker 02

  I've made the mistake.

• 10:10Speaker 02

And you hope they don't watch their sets back. Cause if the guy's still nice to you, you're like, alright, he doesn't watch his own.

• 10:14Mark Normand?

  Yeah, that's true.

• 10:15Sam Morril?

By the way, I gotta peeve, tell me if this is, what do you think of this? So I had a friend and so I, I bought tickets to see Sunset Boulevard on Broadway. I heard it's a good show, uh, and my ex and I, we were gonna see it, she got, she gets sick. So I was like, I'm just gonna give the tickets away to a friend of mine. I know he loves the movie Sunset Boulevard, so I'm like, you want the tickets? And he goes, I can't go, but my girlfriend would love the tickets.

• 10:36Mark Normand?

  Mmm.

• 10:36Sam Morril?

And I was like, alright, weird transfer, but fuck it, who gives a shit, take the tickets? So then I see them and I was like, how, how'd you like the play? Was it good? I wanna see it still. And she goes, I couldn't make it.

• 10:46Mark Normand?

  Oh, wait.

• 10:48Sam Morril?

So I gave you the tickets and no one went. So they just got married, I'm thinking, good wedding gift, Sunset Boulevard tickets again. What do you think? Yeah, I like it. That's kind of a fun, like, little funny fuck you, but also fun gift. It's still a gift. Alright, alright. Those tickets aren't cheap.

• 11:03Speaker 02

Did they give them away, or did she just...

• 11:04Sam Morril?

No, she just like, I think got caught in traffic or something, just missed the show.

• 11:07Speaker 02

Who fucking leaves late enough to get caught in traffic?

• 11:09Sam Morril?

I was blown away, I didn't ask any follow-up questions, because I was so baffled by the whole... I mean, that's a curb app, completely. It's curbish, for sure.

• 11:17Speaker 02

That's very annoying. To leave so late, you miss it, you sit in traffic, because you don't know when to fucking leave the house?

• 11:22Sam Morril?

Especially because I've heard it's great, I saw Liz and Colin were both at The Cellar being like, "It's fucking great, you gotta see it."

• 11:28Speaker 02

What is it? Do something else, Colin.

• 11:29Sam Morril?

Sunset Boulevard on Broadway, I don't know.

• 11:31Speaker 02

  What Sunset Boulevard?

• 11:32Sam Morril?

Oh, you never saw the movie?

• 11:33Speaker 02

  No.

• 11:33Sam Morril?

Oh, it's actually, like, all the crazy shit Trump says, they were like, favorite movie's like, Sunset Boulevard, I'm like, alright, he's got one, for sure. It's a movie from the 40s about this, uh, it's like, the first movie to be narrated by a dead guy. So it opens with him face down in the pool, shot in the back, and he's like, here's what happened, and it's like, it was, uh, this aging actress... Yep, all the tropes are from this. Yeah, all the, it's like a classic, uh, 40s movie, but she's an aging actress, and she's kinda out of the game, and this guy's a struggling writer, and he lives with her, and it's just fucking awesome, it's just like...

• 12:06Speaker 02

Was Citizen Kane narrated by a dead guy, or no?

• 12:08Sam Morril?

  No, no.

• 12:08Speaker 02

Oh, that was, it was just that they started off...

• 12:10Sam Morril?

  He's dying.

• 12:10Speaker 02

  He died, okay.

• 12:11Sam Morril?

Yeah, he, oh no, he died, and his last words were Rosebud, but this is like, actually, he's dead, but it's awesome. The famous line from it is, "I'm ready for my close-up, Mr. DeMille."

• 12:19Speaker 02

  Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah.

• 12:19Sam Morril?

That Sunset Boulevard, great fucking movie, but they say the play is insane. She won the Tony, the actress.

• 12:25Speaker 02

  Uh-huh. Who is that?

• 12:26Sam Morril?

  Nicole Scherzinger?

• 12:28Speaker 02

Is that what she won for?

• 12:29Sam Morril?

  Yeah. Wow. Call her up.

• 12:31Speaker 02

Is that, I mean, the original one?

• 12:32Sam Morril?

  That's the original, yeah.

• 12:33Speaker 02

  That's Nicole?

• 12:34Sam Morril?

No. Uh, her name's Gloria Swanson in the original. Buster Keaton is in it, it's got, uh, what's his name, the guy from Grand Illusion, the famous director, is in it too?

• 12:44Speaker 02

You talking about, oh, Max Fonsito?

• 12:45Sam Morril?

  Yes, no, not Max Fonsito.

• 12:47Speaker 02

Max, Max, uh... Max, uh, Max, not Max Schilling.

• 12:54Speaker 02

Yeah, um... Max von Sytow is on The Exorcist.

• 12:57Sam Morril?

You know what I fucking rewatched, like dumbest decision ever? Love Raging Bull, but I was like, let me rewatch this right before I have like four sets of The Cellar on Saturday. Not a fucking uplifting film.

• 13:07Speaker 02

  No, no.

• 13:08Sam Morril?

  So good.

• 13:09Speaker 02

No. The stuff at home though, like when he's fucking teaching her how to be a proper wife and flipping the carrots. That stuff inspires me.

• 13:15Sam Morril?

We've got hilarious parts in it still. We're like, you know, he's pissed at her and like, he's, he's trying to like, take the jewels out of the belt and all the dishes fall. And he's like, well, why'd you put dishes over there? Him just being an abusive husband?

• 13:28Speaker 02

  Yeah.

• 13:29Sam Morril?

And the fact that his rock bottom is just being a comedian. All the bad shit he's been through, he's like, I'm gonna tell jokes on stage and that's supposed to be like the sad point of the movie.

• 13:37Speaker 02

People are like, oh, the poor guy.

• 13:39Sam Morril?

But it is such a great fucking movie. And I watched, I watched, I was like, why'd I watch this before? I have to be funny four times. It's such a miserable movie.

• 13:45Speaker 02

I haven't seen that in years, but I, that's my favorite De Niro, Scorsese, Pesci.

• 13:50Sam Morril?

  That's your favorite one?

• 13:51Speaker 02

A hundred, not even close. Over everything they've done. And when I walked in, when I shot that scene in The Irishman.

• 13:58Sam Morril?

Oh, no, you were in The Irishman too. You're Rickles.

• 14:00Speaker 02

Yeah, yeah. De Niro was in it and Pesci was in that scene. So I walked into Gotham and I just see, cause it was, it was for blocking, so no one was in the room. I walk in and it's Scorsese, De Niro and Pesci just standing there and they had like gangster hats on. And I was like, this is fucking Raging Bull. Whoa. It was the hardest thing I've ever done was not take a photo on purpose with all three of them. But that's the first thing I thought of was this is Raging Bull. Wow.

• 14:25Sam Morril?

  Damn.

• 14:25Speaker 02

Yeah, it's a fucking masterpiece. The music in the beginning, that, that beautiful like string music, whatever it is. With the boxing and the black and white.

• 14:33Sam Morril?

Oh my goodness, like how they made the, like they were like breaking light bulbs or something in the ring to make it look that way?

• 14:38Speaker 02

Wasn't it also for the camouflage?

• 14:40Sam Morril?

Yeah, the camouflage or something like that.

• 14:42Speaker 02

  That's great. Oh, I can't, yeah.

• 14:44Sam Morril?

  Dude, that's crazy.

• 14:45Speaker 02

  It's the best you've ever looked. I, I can't listen. I can't listen. I can't watch.

• 14:48Sam Morril?

No, I saw this, I saw this in the theater and I was like, this is so cool to see you pop up in it.

• 14:53Speaker 02

Hell, yeah. I, I was happy. I didn't know I made it until the actual, uh, day, uh, like the night before Ray Romano told me, before the premiere.

• 15:01Sam Morril?

  He's great in it, dude.

• 15:02Speaker 02

He is great in it. And I just rewatched it. I actually liked it more the second time I saw it.

• 15:06Sam Morril?

  It's good.

• 15:07Speaker 02

Not in a theater, I was home.

• 15:08Sam Morril?

Also, the second half is like, I think, kind of incredible when they're getting old together and then the prison and how fucking dark it is. It's got some great parts in it.

• 15:16Mark Normand?

If you can get past the De Niro.

• 15:18Sam Morril?

  Oh, that was rough.

• 15:19Mark Normand?

  CGI stuff.

• 15:20Speaker 02

I know, because I really thought he killed the guy. That was so amazing when he stepped on the guy. I'm like, this is very realistic.

• 15:25Mark Normand?

  Yeah.

• 15:26Speaker 02

Hoping it didn't hurt the guy.

• 15:27Sam Morril?

A lot of people don't know this about that movie, but when he said he liked to paint houses, it meant kill people.

• 15:31Mark Normand?

  No.

• 15:32Sam Morril?

No one knew that, but I caught that.

• 15:34Speaker 02

Ah, it's very good. And also, I do my own carpentry and all that stuff.

• 15:39Sam Morril?

It was cool. I liked that movie.

• 15:40Speaker 02

I did too. I read the books before to really prepare, but I didn't have to. I just wanted to see if Rickles... They actually did use the dialogue, I think, that he used that night, which I liked.

• 15:50Sam Morril?

  Wow.

• 15:50Speaker 02

That they used the stuff that he actually said to Joey.

• 15:52Sam Morril?

Of course, Stacy uses comics so much, like Goodfellas. You got the Henny Youngman scene, right?

• 15:57Mark Normand?

  Yeah.

• 15:58Sam Morril?

  You got, uh...

• 15:58Mark Normand?

Alan King is in Casino, Rickles is in Casino.

• 16:01Speaker 02

And the one guy in Raging Bull, "Hit me with the left hook. No hand, just a hooky head." Bombing at the cop. He's my favorite fucking comic ever. He's just eating his dick in front of Jake LaMotta.

• 16:13Mark Normand?

And you had Jake LaMotta on the pot or the radio.

• 16:16Speaker 02

We interviewed him, yeah, yeah, yeah. He was, uh, he was very punchy. I think Stan Hope told a joke about it, but he really did. He kept telling the same joke.

• 16:23Mark Normand?

  I know, the diabetes?

• 16:24Speaker 02

Yeah. "Watch Sugar Ray so many times, I got diabetes." And then five minutes later, he'd say it again, and his fucking hot wife is there.

• 16:31Mark Normand?

  Yeah.

• 16:32Speaker 02

It was great. I didn't care. I was happy to talk to him.

• 16:34Sam Morril?

Yeah, he could not have been happy with Raging Bull.

• 16:37Speaker 02

  He was, actually.

• 16:38Sam Morril?

  Really?

• 16:38Speaker 02

Yeah, I think in real life that it wasn't his brother Joey. I think that was his friend that he beat up, Pete, if I remember. Um, and I think that he said that he actually didn't fuck Vicky, like he fucked up. Um, I don't remember. I've seen him talk about that. But yeah, he loved it because it made him relevant again. I don't think he cared.

• 16:54Mark Normand?

  Right, right.

• 16:55Sam Morril?

I also feel like back then, to be a boxer, you kind of had to just take, like, the mob just ran that shit. You just kind of had to take a payoff, right?

• 17:02Speaker 02

Yeah. Yeah, you just took it, and he took your dive. And then, uh, Marcel Sedan was the guy who killed the fucking champion who was killed in the... In the plane crash, I think.

• 17:12Sam Morril?

Was he killed in the plane crash?

• 17:13Speaker 02

Marcel Sedan was, yeah. He was, uh...

• 17:14Sam Morril?

That was a champion beat, right?

• 17:16Speaker 02

I think that was the guy he beat, yeah. That was such a fucking great movie. I want to watch it.

• 17:20Sam Morril?

  It is great.

• 17:21Speaker 02

I'll just babble about it for an hour.

• 17:22Sam Morril?

Well, I just, I just end up like Criterion always does those flash sales and I just buy a bunch and I was just like, fuck, I gotta re-watch this. It's so, it is so fucking good.

• 17:30Speaker 02

And the color stuff, when they go into color, to feel like the home movies are all in color. It's so fucking-

• 17:36Sam Morril?

  Beautiful.

• 17:36Speaker 02

Yeah, it's beautiful. It's a great movie. Some people haven't seen, they've only seen Goodfellas, Casino.

• 17:40Mark Normand?

  I know.

• 17:41Sam Morril?

Dude, I re-watched Taxi Driver. We were talking about that too. That one holds up fucking brilliantly too.

• 17:45Mark Normand?

  Oh, it's amazing.

• 17:45Sam Morril?

  He's the best.

• 17:46Mark Normand?

So many people have copied it too.

• 17:48Sam Morril?

  Yeah.

• 17:48Mark Normand?

Fun fact about Lamotta, he grew up in the Bronx and they would, uh, his dad would make him fight the other kids in the neighborhood for fun. Like for the dads to watch, they'd all sit around in lawn chairs and whoever won got pennies thrown at him.

• 18:00Speaker 02

  Oh.

• 18:00Mark Normand?

And that was just like, that's how he learned to fight. Just, you know.

• 18:03Sam Morril?

We have a very different upbringing, man. That's, shit's changed a lot.

• 18:06Mark Normand?

They said they did like a test, a scan on his, on his head and he had more padding than most people on his skull.

• 18:13Speaker 02

Oh, that's why he probably, because he would move forward a lot.

• 18:16Mark Normand?

  Yeah.

• 18:16Speaker 02

Um, like his defense, I, I forget what I said to him. It was something about his defense. Uh, was that he was so offensive. I, I said something about the way he moved forward and he goes, "You're very smart." Then he talked to a lamp, so it didn't really mean much.

• 18:32Sam Morril?

  Didn't you have, didn't you have a cameo in Spider-Man 2?

• 18:35Speaker 02

I had one cameo, yeah. It was, it was in Spider-Man. It was, uh, it was, I, I didn't even meet Sam Raimi. We just did it in the fucking, in, uh, Queens was the second unit shoot where they were just asking us to improv lines about Spider-Man. And I just kept doing like all these dick jokes about the webbing being a load.

• 18:50Mark Normand?

  Oh, yeah.

• 18:51Speaker 02

And I'm like, "This is a kid's movie." And I'm like, "All right." So then I did that stupid stinks and I don't like it. And, and it made, I, again, I found out, I was on the air with O N A in the afternoon and some fan called and he goes, "Yeah, I saw it. You were in. You made it."

• 19:03Mark Normand?

  Whoa.

• 19:03Sam Morril?

You said, you said, "You stink."

• 19:05Speaker 02

Yeah, uh, "He stinks and I don't like it." It was one line that I put that in.

• 19:08Mark Normand?

  Pull it up.

• 19:09Sam Morril?

  That's great.

• 19:09Speaker 02

I was negative, uh, and it actually got in. Yeah, it was my, "The surly truck driver is how I'm billed."

• 19:16Mark Normand?

  There he is.

• 19:17Speaker 02

  It's a half second.

• 19:23Mark Normand?

  Dude, the language.

• 19:24Speaker 02

  I know.

• 19:25Mark Normand?

  My god.

• 19:26Speaker 02

Yeah, I was committed right into camera. I mean, wow, that guy's good.

• 19:29Mark Normand?

It's sad that that is a huge movie. I saw this in the theater and it doesn't equal one ticket sold. Yeah, this is a giant, you're in Spider-Man, but no one's like, "We gotta go see that guy at the Funny Bone."

• 19:41Speaker 02

I have a special out that doesn't equal one ticket. Nothing equals one ticket sold.

• 19:47Mark Normand?

Uh, so what do we do? Why do we wanna be in movies?

• 19:49Sam Morril?

You got De Niro in the, in the opening of that special, that was pretty cool.

• 19:52Speaker 02

No, I'm gonna have a new one now. Like, yeah, that was 2017, and that didn't help with tickets.

• 19:56Mark Normand?

  Damn.

• 19:57Speaker 02

The one I just did, also not helping with tickets, which is great news.

• 20:00Sam Morril?

It'll help, but you just gotta...

• 20:01Speaker 02

  I hope so in time.

• 20:02Sam Morril?

It takes a second, yeah, but it'll help.

• 20:03Mark Normand?

It's funny, what the, my friend, our friend runs a ticketing site, and he's like, uh, Whitney went on CNN and bitched about like, uh, the Trump shooter? And he's like, her tickets went through the roof.

• 20:14Sam Morril?

Well, it was, it wasn't the Trump thing, it was, she went on the New Year's Eve show.

• 20:17Mark Normand?

  Yeah.

• 20:17Sam Morril?

Just fucking trashed them, that's what helped.

• 20:19Mark Normand?

But she did a bunch of conspiracies. She's like, while I have the microphone, what's up with this, what's up with that? And like, it just blew up.

• 20:25Speaker 02

  Oh, okay.

• 20:26Mark Normand?

You never know, it'll sell a fucking ticket.

• 20:27Speaker 02

You don't know what's gonna happen. The things you think are gonna work, uh, don't. Yeah, no, I've been through, I've been through every, everything I think is gonna work, just doesn't.

• 20:34Mark Normand?

  Yeah.

• 20:35Speaker 02

  So, whatever.

• 20:36Mark Normand?

And then you get a, you run over a guy in a DUI, and you're like...

• 20:39Speaker 02

  Tickets are through the roof.

• 20:40Mark Normand?

  Yeah.

• 20:41Sam Morril?

  Work for Matthew Broderick.

• 20:43Speaker 02

  Oh, yeah, in Ireland, right?

• 20:44Mark Normand?

  Ah, that's...

• 20:45Sam Morril?

  Holy shit.

• 20:46Mark Normand?

  Apparently he was getting head.

• 20:47Sam Morril?

  Get, that's the rumor.

• 20:48Mark Normand?

  That's the rumor.

• 20:48Speaker 02

  He was getting head?

• 20:49Mark Normand?

  From Jennifer Grey.

• 20:50Sam Morril?

  Yeah.

• 20:51Speaker 02

  Oh.

• 20:52Mark Normand?

Which is impressive with that honker.

• 20:53Sam Morril?

  I know.

• 20:54Speaker 02

Yeah, I know. Maybe that was the problem, I mean, she kept poking his balls, he's like, ow!

• 20:56Sam Morril?

  Ah, fuck!

• 20:59Speaker 02

And he pulled back and his foot hit the gas.

• 21:03Mark Normand?

  Bald by getting pecked.

• 21:08Sam Morril?

What a crazy fucking thing to happen.

• 21:10Mark Normand?

  I know.

• 21:11Sam Morril?

Just so you're like, man, I have a great life, I was in Ferris Bueller, and then you just fucking murder someone?

• 21:15Mark Normand?

  Oh, damn.

• 21:18Speaker 02

And everybody's calling your wife a horse. Like, especially, she's a great actress, she's part of a massive series, all anybody can do is fucking call her names.

• 21:25Mark Normand?

  I'm very attracted to her.

• 21:26Sam Morril?

  Yeah.

• 21:27Speaker 02

Oh, fuck Jessica, sorry, fuck her.

• 21:28Sam Morril?

She's also great, I mean, I love her, but she, but she, yeah, you love a big nose.

• 21:32Mark Normand?

  I like a honker.

• 21:34Speaker 02

Yeah, I, I don't mind it either. It's not a, a fetish for me, but I'm okay with it, it doesn't bother me.

• 21:39Mark Normand?

It just puts, it makes the face so striking and scary.

• 21:43Speaker 02

I knew a guy, um, who used to, uh, when he would, he had a big nose, and when he would eat pussy, he would put his nose in her pussy.

• 21:51Mark Normand?

  Whoa.

• 21:51Speaker 02

He's a comedian, uh, he hung up, he killed himself.

• 21:54Mark Normand?

  Really?

• 21:54Speaker 02

  Yeah, yeah.

• 21:55Mark Normand?

  Oh, geez.

• 21:55Speaker 02

He put a gas, he gassed himself in the car, but he would put his nose in her pussy.

• 21:59Mark Normand?

Well, with that honker, he probably died quick.

• 22:02Mark Normand?

  All that inhaling.

• 22:03Speaker 02

Took him eight hours for this whole room. Cycling through.

• 22:08Sam Morril?

  What a weird fucking move.

• 22:10Speaker 02

I'll never forget, that's what I remember him the most, is that he would put his nose in her box. And she was a heavy gal, she was a big gal.

• 22:16Mark Normand?

  Oh.

• 22:17Speaker 02

  Big lady.

• 22:18Mark Normand?

That'd be funny if you put it in, he was like, "Oh, um, Eggs Benedict for breakfast?" You got the whole, the whole, um, meal plan? Alright.

• 22:29Sam Morril?

Think we squeezed all the comedy out of that one right there?

• 22:32Speaker 02

Oh, yeah, that's what we do.

• 22:33Sam Morril?

That was all the juice out of that, uh...

• 22:34Mark Normand?

Well, that's what dogs are doing with the butthole sniffing, they're just like, "Oh, how old are you?" They get a whole dossier from that B-hole.

• 22:40Speaker 02

  Really?

• 22:40Mark Normand?

  It's like a Tinder profile.

• 22:42Sam Morril?

  Hmm.

• 22:43Speaker 02

  I didn't know that.

• 22:43Mark Normand?

Yeah, you're learning a lot, that's why they sniff, it's all just, it's like getting to know somebody. What do you do? How are you? Where are you from?

• 22:49Speaker 02

I don't mind a smell on a woman, like, and I don't, I don't like bad breath, but if someone's got like, uh, a little smell, like she doesn't shower, I'm okay with that, as long as it's not dirty, like gross, but... A little bit, I'm okay, I get why.

• 23:00Sam Morril?

Yeah, a little stink is fine.

• 23:01Mark Normand?

  But BO.

• 23:01Speaker 02

  Fun.

• 23:02Sam Morril?

  I mean, no, I don't like BO.

• 23:03Speaker 02

  A little bit, I don't mind, I don't mind a little BO.

• 23:05Sam Morril?

But some, some women just like, don't smell, like, they'll just like, they'll just like not shower and they smell fine.

• 23:11Mark Normand?

Yeah, yeah, I'd rather a, a pinch of something than smell too good.

• 23:16Sam Morril?

  Really?

• 23:17Mark Normand?

Like, you know, you ever down there and it smells, like, the veg smells great?

• 23:20Speaker 02

  No.

• 23:26Sam Morril?

  I was also lost, Mark.

• 23:34Mark Normand?

Alright, so how about that Raging Bull? Hell of a picture, really well done. Did that win Best Pick?

• 23:42Sam Morril?

  No.

• 23:42Speaker 02

  No, Ordinary People won.

• 23:44Mark Normand?

  Oh.

• 23:44Sam Morril?

He won, though, he won the Oscar.

• 23:45Speaker 02

He won the Oscar, Scorsese did not win it, uh, it went to, uh, it went to fucking, uh, who directed Ordinary People, it was, not, uh, Robert Redford.

• 23:54Mark Normand?

  Redford?

• 23:55Speaker 02

And, uh, it was Timothy Hutton won for Supporting Actor instead of Chio Pesci.

• 23:59Mark Normand?

  Damn.

• 23:59Sam Morril?

History always, like, shows how retarded the Oscars are, though.

• 24:02Mark Normand?

  I know.

• 24:03Sam Morril?

Where the, like, the, the stuff that ages well, like, Ordinary People's fine.

• 24:07Speaker 02

  It's good, but...

• 24:07Sam Morril?

But, yeah, but it's like Raging Bull's on another fucking level.

• 24:10Speaker 02

  It's a masterpiece, yeah.

• 24:10Sam Morril?

  Yeah.

• 24:11Speaker 02

Movie about like people like they they kind of saw themselves and like you know what I mean?

• 24:14Sam Morril?

  Yeah, true.

• 24:16Speaker 02

The therapist rescuing the the boy, you know, it was just that.

• 24:19Sam Morril?

I love Judd Hirst, but yeah, I agree. It's like, dude, same with like, it's like when it's like, you know, Sean Penn won for Milk over Mickey Rourke in The Wrestler. Like, I was, I thought The Wrestler was like insane.

• 24:29Speaker 02

  Yeah.

• 24:30Sam Morril?

And I love Sean Penn and Milk, but I'm just like, it's just, that's more of an Oscar bait type movie than a film about a wrestler.

• 24:36Speaker 02

  Yes.

• 24:37Mark Normand?

Exactly. It's like you said, they see themselves. Like, they're like, oh, he's gay, we're gay. And then the, uh, what's the other one? The Artist. Remember when The Artist won?

• 24:43Speaker 02

  Oh, right.

• 24:44Mark Normand?

It was a black and white silent movie.

• 24:46Sam Morril?

We all felt fancy. We're like, we saw a black and white film with with subtitles.

• 24:50Mark Normand?

Exact- who was it? No one saw it, by the way. No one saw The Artist.

• 24:54Sam Morril?

  I saw it.

• 24:55Mark Normand?

  I saw it too.

• 24:58Sam Morril?

  Everyone saw it.

• 24:58Mark Normand?

  It's actually really good.

• 24:59Sam Morril?

It is a good movie. I enjoyed it.

• 25:01Mark Normand?

What are the other movies that year? Sorry, Jim.

• 25:04Sam Morril?

No, this guy was awesome too. He was in like Wolf of Wall Street 2, remember? No.

• 25:09Speaker 02

  I don't remember.

• 25:10Sam Morril?

  It wasn't that recent.

• 25:12Mark Normand?

  Is it, it's foreign?

• 25:13Sam Morril?

  Yeah.

• 25:13Mark Normand?

Uh huh. The Dog was great. And the puppy.

• 25:18Speaker 02

  Ah.

• 25:20Mark Normand?

Who, yeah, what was the other stuff that year? Cause everybody was blown away. And then it was kind of like when Moonlight won.

• 25:25Speaker 02

Yes. They like to do that sometimes, though. They like to do that cause it makes them feel like they're not predictive. The Descendants, is that with fucking George Clooney?

• 25:33Mark Normand?

  Yeah, yeah, yeah.

• 25:33Speaker 02

  I didn't like that movie.

• 25:34Sam Morril?

That was pretty good. I love that director.

• 25:35Speaker 02

It was a commercial for American Airlines.

• 25:37Mark Normand?

Right. I mean, that is a 10 million mile flyer.

• 25:40Sam Morril?

No, that was up in the air.

• 25:41Mark Normand?

  That's up in the air.

• 25:42Speaker 02

  Is it really?

• 25:43Sam Morril?

  Yeah.

• 25:43Mark Normand?

The sentence is about the family in Hawaii.

• 25:45Speaker 02

I know, I know, but I thought they combined those two things. Oh, okay.

• 25:49Mark Normand?

  Moneyball was awesome.

• 25:50Sam Morril?

  Moneyball's awesome.

• 25:51Speaker 02

  That was good, yeah.

• 25:52Sam Morril?

That was a great movie. I love Midnight in Paris too, man.

• 25:54Mark Normand?

  Oh, yeah.

• 25:54Speaker 02

  I did too.

• 25:55Sam Morril?

  Yeah, it was great.

• 25:56Speaker 02

1974 is by far the best decision ever made at the Oscars.

• 25:59Mark Normand?

  Let's hear it.

• 26:00Speaker 02

Best actor. Instead of Pacino in Dog Day Afternoon, it went to Art Carney.

• 26:06Sam Morril?

I remember, holy shit, I remember reading this.

• 26:08Mark Normand?

  Wow.

• 26:09Sam Morril?

  Wow.

• 26:10Speaker 02

  Who was fine.

• 26:11Sam Morril?

They're doing Dog Day on Broadway with Jon Bernthal.

• 26:14Mark Normand?

  Oooh, hey.

• 26:15Sam Morril?

  Could be kinda cool.

• 26:16Mark Normand?

  That is cool.

• 26:17Speaker 02

Who's he playing? Is he playing Sal or Sonny?

• 26:19Sam Morril?

He's Pacino, and then the guy from The Bear, the cousin is, uh, John Cazale.

• 26:24Mark Normand?

  He's good.

• 26:25Speaker 02

I don't know who that is.

• 26:26Sam Morril?

He looks like he could do it.

• 26:27Mark Normand?

  I could do it.

• 26:28Sam Morril?

I love Dog Day so much.

• 26:29Speaker 02

That's such a great fucking movie.

• 26:31Mark Normand?

Ahead of their time with the trans stuff.

• 26:33Speaker 02

Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, absolutely. Leon Shimer. He died of AIDS in real life, that guy. I forget his name. It wasn't really, the name wasn't Leon Shimer, but he died of, uh...

• 26:42Mark Normand?

One of my first jokes was, uh, Anne Frank was in Attic, uh... Never works. Um, no one got it. But, uh, yeah, they're playing Dog Day. They play movies in the park by my house. They're playing Dog Day.

• 26:55Speaker 02

  Now?

• 26:56Mark Normand?

  Uh, in August.

• 26:58Speaker 02

Chris Sarandon, you remember Chris Sarandon was in Dog Day Afternoon? He was, uh, he was Leon Shimer.

• 27:04Sam Morril?

  No shit.

• 27:04Mark Normand?

  Oh, oh, really? Okay.

• 27:06Speaker 02

You're not dying, Sonny. You're killing everyone around you. They're all snickering behind his back.

• 27:10Mark Normand?

  Is that Susan's brother? Or...

• 27:12Speaker 02

You know what? I don't know. He had a pretty good career. I don't know if he's related to her or not.

• 27:16Mark Normand?

There they are. Look at the height on that. That's a real, uh...

• 27:18Speaker 02

Oh, that's the real couple. Wow. He's Jim and his wife.

• 27:25Mark Normand?

Oh, yeah. Look at that. You could replay this.

• 27:28Speaker 02

  That is the real them.

• 27:29Mark Normand?

  Yeah. Set in Brooklyn, right?

• 27:31Speaker 02

Yeah, I forget his name. John or something. He wasn't Sonny. What were you saying? I'm sorry, I interrupted you.

• 27:36Sam Morril?

Oh, no, I just saw a headline for Anne Frank that said, like, maybe she was a lesbian, and it's like...

• 27:40Mark Normand?

  Oh, let it go.

• 27:42Sam Morril?

Who the fuck is that headline for?

• 27:43Mark Normand?

We're so obsessed with the identities of everybody.

• 27:46Sam Morril?

She was a child. She's like 14. And she was like, she'd make a comment about a girl being attractive, but she's a fucking child. Why are you sexualizing a little kid?

• 27:53Mark Normand?

  Yeah, yeah.

• 27:54Speaker 02

It's like when they come out, they'll say things like, "Christ was trans." What are you talking about?

• 27:59Mark Normand?

I know, I remember J K Rowling did that. She was like Dumbledore is gay. And you're like, the book's over, shut up. You can't just claim him as a gay.

• 28:05Speaker 02

Oh, you can't just say it in hindsight.

• 28:07Mark Normand?

  Yes.

• 28:08Sam Morril?

  Like you're a hero.

• 28:09Speaker 02

  Yeah.

• 28:10Sam Morril?

Once you made all your money.

• 28:11Speaker 02

Yeah, now you're like, oh, he was gay.

• 28:13Mark Normand?

Yeah, I'm gonna do that when you die. By the way, Jim. Big homo.

• 28:17Speaker 02

Who was the reporter? Was it Barbara Walters that got shit for, uh, for the way, cause things were seen differently back then with interviews and questions?

• 28:25Mark Normand?

  Yeah.

• 28:25Speaker 02

Was it Barbara Walters that got shit for questions she asked Brooke Shields or somebody?

• 28:29Mark Normand?

Oh, I don't know. I know, uh, Connery said he was gonna hit a woman.

• 28:33Sam Morril?

Oh, yeah, she really went at him for that.

• 28:34Speaker 02

  Yeah.

• 28:35Sam Morril?

I was shocked she didn't catch a beating after that interview.

• 28:38Speaker 02

  I know. Yes.

• 28:40Mark Normand?

  I'm sorry.

• 28:41Speaker 02

  That's okay.

• 28:41Mark Normand?

  She banged somebody weird.

• 28:43Speaker 02

  Barbara Walters?

• 28:44Mark Normand?

Yeah, she was banging, it was a black guy. I can't remember who it was. It was like.

• 28:48Speaker 02

Not Richard Pryor, who she did interview and what it was.

• 28:51Mark Normand?

It wasn't Pryor, it was someone we all know. Ah, I can't remember.

• 28:55Sam Morril?

  Will Silvins.

• 28:59Mark Normand?

  Is this it?

• 29:00Speaker 02

I don't remember. No, I think Brooke was older here.

• 29:02Mark Normand?

  Okay.

• 29:02Speaker 02

Somebody asked her when she was, I just don't remember. Like, I, I remember reading about it. Or maybe she was young there, who knows?

• 29:08Mark Normand?

  She looked pretty young.

• 29:09Sam Morril?

Here's a TikTok. TikTok's always gonna get it right.

• 29:11Speaker 02

  TikTok will get it right.

• 29:12Mark Normand?

  Eighty-one interview, here we go.

• 29:17Speaker 05

Brooke was fifteen at the time and had her mother with her at the interview. It was all over the internet today because yesterday Brooke Shields went on the Drew Barrymore Show and she talked about what was going through her mind and what her feelings were during that. I have a clip of that.

• 29:30Speaker 06

Asked me to stand up and I stand up and she was like comparing herself to this little girl. And I thought, there's, this isn't right. I don't understand what this is, but I just, I behaved and I just smiled and felt like so taken advantage of.

• 29:49Mark Normand?

Hmm, there's a strand of Me Too by women coming out. Have you noticed this? Like, a lot of these teachers are banging young students.

• 29:56Speaker 02

  Yeah.

• 29:57Mark Normand?

Uh, there's a CEO of like Facebook lady who is fucking, or hitting on a bunch of the women there.

• 30:02Speaker 02

  Sheryl Sandberg?

• 30:03Mark Normand?

  Yes.

• 30:04Speaker 02

  Really?

• 30:04Mark Normand?

Then the Call Her Daddy gal has a new documentary about her coach on the soccer team.

• 30:08Speaker 02

Yeah, the woman, yeah, she said, harassed her, yeah.

• 30:11Mark Normand?

Yeah, there's a big string of lady creeps coming out.

• 30:14Speaker 02

Wait, the one from Facebook though, didn't her husband die not long ago?

• 30:17Sam Morril?

Sheryl Sandberg, yeah, what happened with that?

• 30:18Mark Normand?

I might have the company wrong.

• 30:19Speaker 02

  Yeah.

• 30:20Mark Normand?

  But some, some.

• 30:21Speaker 02

  Sheryl Sandberg was married.

• 30:22Sam Morril?

Yeah, she also was like, I think she was, got shit for being like.

• 30:25Mark Normand?

This is a lesbian, I'm talking about.

• 30:27Sam Morril?

Yeah, for not, for other reasons, I don't think it was that.

• 30:29Mark Normand?

  No, no, maybe not her.

• 30:31Speaker 02

Yeah, I thought her husband died.

• 30:33Speaker 03

  2015.

• 30:34Speaker 02

  Okay, 2015?

• 30:36Speaker 03

Death, and, yes, suddenly on vacation, private beach.

• 30:40Speaker 02

  Wow.

• 30:41Speaker 03

I did find the Brooke Shields interview.

• 30:44Sam Morril?

Rock had a good joke about Sheryl Sandberg, about like how, how she, she's like, she's a beautiful woman. But like, you know, she works at Facebook, like, I'd fuck her if she worked at Burger King. Like, that's the difference between men and women. I was like, that's a great angle, man.

• 30:56Mark Normand?

  Oh, yeah.

• 30:57Speaker 07

Because we haven't really seen you standing next to someone. Very hard when you got a little kid to side to keep, to keep her, keep her down to size, isn't it?

• 31:09Speaker 02

She's standing, what did she say? That was so bad, she stood up next to her.

• 31:12Mark Normand?

Yeah, but she felt taken advantage.

• 31:14Speaker 02

  Brooke was very statuesque.

• 31:15Sam Morril?

I think, I think just being a famous woman at that age is like, bad shit's gonna happen.

• 31:20Mark Normand?

  Yeah.

• 31:20Sam Morril?

It's not like, it's gonna, like, that, that couldn't have been the worst shit, you know?

• 31:24Mark Normand?

Also, I've seen hotter kids than this.

• 31:26Sam Morril?

  Exactly.

• 31:27Mark Normand?

Come on, but Google what, uh, what black guy Babs was blowing.

• 31:30Speaker 03

What black guy Babs was blowing?

• 31:32Mark Normand?

I just wanna know it for my own curiosity. It might have been a Middle Easterner as well.

• 31:36Speaker 02

Ah, was it Adnan Khashoggi? She fucking.

• 31:40Mark Normand?

  Mohammed Sheikh Khalid or whatever.

• 31:42Speaker 02

Oh god, well, there's a couple of, uh, Sheikh Mohammed Khalid was number three in Al Qaeda, so.

• 31:48Mark Normand?

  Yeah, I'm happy for him.

• 31:49Speaker 02

I tip my hat to her.

• 31:50Mark Normand?

  Abu, Ahmed.

• 31:53Speaker 02

  Edward Brooke, yeah.

• 31:54Mark Normand?

Oh, come on, that's not it.

• 31:56Speaker 02

My ex-girlfriend thought I was fucking Brooke Shields.

• 31:58Mark Normand?

  No way.

• 31:59Speaker 02

Yes, I forgot about that until recently because I did, uh, Furry Vengeance with, uh, it was when Patrice was in, it was her and Brendan Fraser starred in it. So we were on set for a week or two and we got to know Brooke a little bit. And, uh, we were gonna play Querty, it was before, it was like a Scrabble game. So I had her Querty name written down and her number on my dresser. And, uh, my ex-girlfriend thought I was fucking, we had a huge fight because she thought I was fucking Brooke Shields.

• 32:25Mark Normand?

She had high hopes for you.

• 32:29Speaker 02

Like, how do I break this to you, but if I could fuck her, do you think I'd...

• 32:34Mark Normand?

  Wow.

• 32:35Speaker 02

  Delicately, but.

• 32:38Speaker 03

Look at this, I typed in Barbara Walters' sex with Richard Pryor, AI said, "That subject cannot be discussed."

• 32:45Speaker 02

Right, because it's sex, AI won't touch sex.

• 32:48Mark Normand?

  Isn't that right?

• 32:48Speaker 02

I'm guessing, that's the worst, uh, but no, I, I heard he was fucking Dolly Parton, I think Paul Mooney said that years ago. I mean, that's what I heard.

• 32:56Speaker 03

  Richard Pryor and Dolly Parton?

• 32:58Speaker 02

I heard that years ago, yeah. He was, because she, he made her laugh and he was so, Barbara Walters liked Richard Pryor though, I think, I think she interviewed him three times. And, uh, she's like, he lied to her, he made her very angry, but he was a very compelling.

• 33:10Speaker 03

  What'd he lie about?

• 33:11Speaker 02

Doing drugs, and he was saying the, uh, N-word in front of her and like, like saying like, you know, you say it, you know you say it.

• 33:19Speaker 02

I think he could be obnoxious when he wanted to be.

• 33:21Mark Normand?

Yeah, yeah, boy, he was the man.

• 33:22Speaker 02

Yeah, he certainly was. There's a great interview of him, it was a guy who was, obviously worked in a school. He looked like somebody's social studies teacher and, uh, he interviewed Pryor on the set of Stir Crazy.

• 33:34Mark Normand?

  He's all coked up.

• 33:35Speaker 02

  It's so great, yes.

• 33:37Mark Normand?

It's great, and then he's, he's talking about how great Steve Martin is at one point.

• 33:40Speaker 02

Yes, because the guy's trying to tease Steve Martin and Pryor's like, "Don't try to blow me up, Steve Martin's a genius."

• 33:45Mark Normand?

  Yes.

• 33:45Speaker 02

Get on the guy. And he called Gene Wilder a

• 33:48Mark Normand?

  Yes, yes.

• 33:50Speaker 02

  Yeah.

• 33:50Sam Morril?

  Do they not get along?

• 33:51Speaker 02

I don't, I think he might have been kidding. I think he loved-

• 33:53Mark Normand?

  Probably was kidding.

• 33:54Speaker 02

I saw Gene Wilder speak at the 92nd Street Y and somebody asked him about Richard Pryor. And I think he said, when he thinks of Pryor, he thinks about time that was wasted, or, or, like, almost like the addiction and what it did to him. And all the things he could have done. It wasn't a slam on him, but it was like an, an address to his, like, his addiction.

• 34:13Sam Morril?

We've talked about it. I mean, he's like, even in his specials, he's like, clearly a cautionary tale, you know? He, he, the, the shit he's, he's a genius, but the shit he's talking about, you're like, dude, you're killing yourself.

• 34:22Speaker 02

  Yeah, yeah, yeah.

• 34:23Mark Normand?

There's one scene in that interview where he goes, "You don't like young girls?" And then the interviewer's like, "No, no." He's like, "Come on, you don't like young girls?" And it's just so awkward, but fascinating to watch.

• 34:33Speaker 02

Well, they had done the interview already, and the sound didn't work. So they were redoing the interview in the afternoon. And Pryor's making fun of him because like, if that was a black sound guy, he would have been fi- you know, he's just-

• 34:42Mark Normand?

  Ah, that's right.

• 34:43Speaker 02

But he probably did like a gentlemanly school interview in the morning.

• 34:46Mark Normand?

Right, right. You've gotta find his interview.

• 34:49Speaker 02

Oh, that's from the improv in New York, uh, Live in Smokey.

• 34:51Sam Morril?

  Yeah, yeah.

• 34:52Mark Normand?

That's where he eats the booger.

• 34:53Speaker 02

  Yeah.

• 34:54Speaker 04

  No, never fuck a-

• 34:56Speaker 04

No, now I like to say this on film, because to all American male persons, never fuck a- Because they will lie. They always say, "I want to tell," they lie. They can't wait till you finish fucking them. Well, guess who was here, honey?

• 35:08Sam Morril?

I've said this myself quite a bit as well.

• 35:10Speaker 04

Girl, look here. Well, the nigga got more bitch in him than me.

• 35:15Speaker 02

That's, he was confessing that in, that was 1971 he shot that.

• 35:20Sam Morril?

  He didn't give a fuck.

• 35:21Speaker 02

He didn't give a fuck, man. 1971, he, and he fucked, he had like a transsexual girlfriend, and he jokes about, uh, but then she had to go and get the operation. Like, she came back post-op, I think, and wanted to date him.

• 35:34Mark Normand?

  Mmm.

• 35:34Speaker 02

But he references it to, do you ever see that roast? Uh, it was like after the Richard Pryor show got canceled. It's so funny. It's Paul Mooney-

• 35:42Mark Normand?

  I've seen this, yeah.

• 35:43Speaker 02

Uh, Marshall Warfield, and Pryor is just so great. He just kinda goes off the cuff. But he references that, uh- Like, uh, fucking Paul Mooney and he references, uh, some transsexual that he had. He mentions her name, but yeah, Pryor, Pryor dabbled.

• 35:58Mark Normand?

What about Brando? Didn't they have a thing?

• 36:00Speaker 02

I've heard that. I've heard it wasn't true, but then I've heard it was true. Like, they said Sammy Davis sucked a dick when he got so... Like, they said he was so bored, like, these guys, or was it Alice Davis?

• 36:11Mark Normand?

  I think it was Sammy.

• 36:12Sam Morril?

Brando and Pryor almost don't feel like real people.

• 36:14Mark Normand?

  Yeah.

• 36:15Sam Morril?

It's hard to picture them only fucking women. They're so not real.

• 36:18Speaker 02

I, I know. Yeah, they, they seem like, uh, they're just like larger than... That, is that pic, that can't be right. I've seen that picture of Brando.

• 36:26Mark Normand?

  That's my wallpaper.

• 36:30Mark Normand?

Yeah, I wonder if that's how Sammy lost the eye?

• 36:35Mark Normand?

  Blowing Matthew Broderick in Ireland.

• 36:42Mark Normand?

I think I just ran over a kid. Kunka chunk, man, my eye. He got clear stuff in my eye. That's dark stuff.

• 36:52Speaker 02

Yeah, but I've heard that. But again, you never know if those stories are true or not. But Pryor, I definitely know did. I mean, at least he dabbled, because he talked about it.

• 36:59Mark Normand?

It's so funny that back then, this was all taboo, hush, hush, but now it might help your career. Yeah. Hey, I'm open-minded, I'm swinging, I'm, I'm, I'm all over every sexuality, fluid.

• 37:09Speaker 02

But now people would look back on that and Pryor, they would watch Pryor saying that, and instead of saying, like, he said this 50 years before other people said it, when it was not, like, he, he made, like, he, he was fucking, he wasn't making, like, woke people, like, you know what I mean? Like, his audience was not that, and he still said it. And but they would, oh, look at what the way he used the F word, like, they would concentrate on the wrong things.

• 37:28Mark Normand?

  Yeah, yeah.

• 37:29Speaker 02

They would, they would focus on the language instead of, like, what he was actually telling them.

• 37:33Mark Normand?

Right, right, that's so true. We love the language attack.

• 37:36Speaker 02

  It's silly.

• 37:37Mark Normand?

  Instead of the actions.

• 37:38Speaker 02

Yeah. But that's a great special. It's really funny. He bombs in it, and he released it in 81 because it didn't go well.

• 37:44Mark Normand?

  Whoa.

• 37:44Speaker 02

So he sat on it for 10 years.

• 37:46Mark Normand?

  Wow.

• 37:47Sam Morril?

It's crazy that someone like Richard Pryor is like, "This sucks."

• 37:50Speaker 02

  Yeah.

• 37:50Sam Morril?

It's crazy that he would not release something.

• 37:53Mark Normand?

Yeah, I'm sure he was pretty hard on himself.

• 37:54Sam Morril?

  Yeah, I'm sure.

• 37:55Speaker 02

He said it in the special. He said something about like, "I'm nervous. I don't want to be nervous." But he was kind of addressing the fact that he was, uh, it's great. There's like a chalk, you ever seen it? There's like a chalkboard behind him. Like, he was just at the improv in New York.

• 38:08Mark Normand?

  Wow.

• 38:08Speaker 02

Just having a bad set. It was so great.

• 38:10Mark Normand?

Well, did you ever see that Eddie Murphy, Comedians in Cars, where he was like, "Oh, him and Seinfeld are driving around." He's like, "Man, when you would come in the, uh, the strip, I was so nervous. I wanted to do well in front of you." And you're like, "Eddie Murphy? Nervous about this, this guy?"

• 38:23Speaker 02

  Yeah.

• 38:24Mark Normand?

"This little skinny Seinfeld?" And he's like, "Yeah, when you came around, I like really stepped it up." Eddie Murphy, the most confident man on the planet. Nervous around Seinfeld.

• 38:32Speaker 02

I guess that was in the late 70s when he was still young, because Seinfeld got established pretty quick, right? Like, doing The Tonight Show. He was respected pretty early on. Like, I remember him growing up when I was a kid, like, watching him on late night TV and stuff. He was like a respected guy early.

• 38:46Mark Normand?

  Yeah, definitely.

• 38:47Sam Morril?

Yeah, he had so many late nights under his belt before he even made Seinfeld, right? Like, how many do you think he did?

• 38:52Speaker 02

  I don't know.

• 38:53Mark Normand?

Twelve, something like that. But he said he saw a guy who he looked up to do The Tonight Show, and he was like, "Wow, that's my dream." And then he's, the guy did so well that they had him back like two weeks later, and he didn't have any, enough good stuff. And he bombed, never got invited back, and Seinfeld was like, "That was a huge alarm bells for my career." Because now, "I'm not gonna do that. I'm gonna just keep writing and have new shit."

• 39:14Speaker 02

  I wonder who that was?

• 39:15Mark Normand?

Yeah, he says who it was. It was a guy I'd never heard of, because he just kind of fizzled out after that.

• 39:20Speaker 02

It wasn't Teddy or Alan, was it? You remember?

• 39:22Mark Normand?

I don't think it was, not Teddy Bergeron.

• 39:24Speaker 02

  That's what I'm thinking.

• 39:25Mark Normand?

  No, he's hilarious.

• 39:26Speaker 02

  Yeah, he's very funny.

• 39:27Mark Normand?

  He drank himself to death?

• 39:29Speaker 02

  He's alive, isn't he?

• 39:30Mark Normand?

  Oh, shit.

• 39:30Speaker 02

Did he die? I don't know.

• 39:31Mark Normand?

  I thought he died.

• 39:32Speaker 02

  Oh, I don't.

• 39:33Mark Normand?

But he was so, he had like a charisma, that guy. He had it.

• 39:37Speaker 02

He used to come to The Cellar. He was working.

• 39:38Mark Normand?

  Really?

• 39:38Speaker 02

It was a while he was working at The Comedy Cellar. He was a Boston comic.

• 39:41Mark Normand?

  Yeah.

• 39:41Speaker 02

Um, and he was working at The Cellar for a while, but I, and I had heard his history, like, while he was, he's a nice guy.

• 39:47Mark Normand?

  Raging alcohol.

• 39:48Sam Morril?

Bombing on Carson must have been the worst, fuck.

• 39:49Mark Normand?

  Oh, my god.

• 39:50Sam Morril?

Because you think now, you're like, "Yeah, one set's not gonna kill me." But like, that, that ruins your career back then.

• 39:55Mark Normand?

Could ruin your career, yeah. Could make it or ruin it. It was kind of like the Colosseum.

• 39:59Sam Morril?

  Yeah.

• 39:59Speaker 02

Yeah, if you didn't do well, you were fucking.

• 40:02Sam Morril?

  You sure have Tom Bergeron?

• 40:04Mark Normand?

  Teddy.

• 40:05Speaker 02

  Teddy Bergeron.

• 40:07Mark Normand?

Oh, oh, did he do a Letterman or any?

• 40:09Sam Morril?

  That hilarious comedian from Platoon?

• 40:14Sam Morril?

  Tom Bergeron?

• 40:16Speaker 03

Uh, he, he died in 2022.

• 40:18Speaker 02

I did not know he died, okay. Um, we were just talking about something that made me think of somebody, going on the Tonight Show. Oh, Robert Klein, I, I love Robert Klein, he's one of my, he's like, he's very underrated historically.

• 40:30Mark Normand?

  Yeah.

• 40:30Speaker 02

  Um.

• 40:31Sam Morril?

Yeah, why do you think that is?

• 40:33Speaker 02

I don't know, I mean, Robert Klein at Yale is one of my favorite comedy specials anyone's ever done.

• 40:37Mark Normand?

  Really?

• 40:38Speaker 02

  From 82.

• 40:38Sam Morril?

Maybe because he never did like a sitcom or something, maybe that like, of that, of that era?

• 40:42Speaker 02

  Yeah.

• 40:43Sam Morril?

Because I agree, his early shit's so funny.

• 40:45Speaker 02

So funny, did he do the first HBO special? I think Robert Klein did the first HBO special.

• 40:49Mark Normand?

Really? I thought it was Carlin.

• 40:50Speaker 02

No, Carlin did the first SNL.

• 40:52Mark Normand?

  Oh, okay.

• 40:53Speaker 02

  I'm pretty sure.

• 40:55Mark Normand?

  No, you're probably right.

• 40:55Speaker 02

I, I think so, I think Klein did, and, and I don't know him well, but I do know him, I've gotten a lunch with him. Uh, because somebody told him I used to always say nice things about him on the radio. And so once in a while I'll just text him and just remind him how funny he is, and he tolerates it.

• 41:08Mark Normand?

  Ah.

• 41:09Speaker 02

But I, I wish I knew him, uh, better, I think my politics annoy him.

• 41:13Mark Normand?

  Oh, really?

• 41:14Speaker 02

Yeah, Carlin on, uh, wait, yeah, no, I think Robert Klein was the first one in 75.

• 41:20Mark Normand?

  75, wow.

• 41:21Speaker 02

  I think so, yeah.

• 41:22Speaker 03

Didn't you say Klein was Jerry's favorite comic?

• 41:24Mark Normand?

  Yes.

• 41:25Speaker 02

  Oh, is he?

• 41:26Mark Normand?

  Cosby and Klein, yeah.

• 41:27Speaker 02

Yeah, well, no, no, one's person, one's comic.

• 41:32Mark Normand?

  I think Cosby's later work.

• 41:34Speaker 02

Yeah, oh, absolutely, the joke's fine, but, I mean, you know, it's, it's, it's the fucking, it's the bartending work.

• 41:43Sam Morril?

That would be hilarious to have Cosby on here and make him a drink.

• 41:46Mark Normand?

Oh, we'll get two beds set up, see what happens.

• 41:51Sam Morril?

We just, we drug him, he passes out, we're like, this is fucking.

• 41:56Speaker 02

He had a weird, I, I've met Cosby a couple of times, and he's had a, did I tell you that he had a weird energy? Like, I, I met him in AC with my girlfriend at the time.

• 42:02Mark Normand?

  Oh.

• 42:03Speaker 02

It was not, it was, he, he had done. I think Chelsea Handler just told a story about meeting Cosby and AC. And I believe it's probably the same weekend that I was there, because I met him after she did. He was doing the Borgata. And I was like, "Kay, can I come back and meet him? I'm a comedian." And they got right in between or after the show. So I went back with my girlfriend at the time. And he sat there and he talked to me for a while. He answered a lot of questions about comedy. And he kept meeting other people were coming in that were due to meet. I was like, "All right, thank you." And he goes, "Oh, stay, stay. You guys stay." So we get to stay and watch him do all these meet and greets.

• 42:37Mark Normand?

  Wow.

• 42:38Speaker 02

And then we were talking and I'm like, "Is it okay if my girlfriend takes a picture with you?" And he goes, "As long as she's my girlfriend."

• 42:46Speaker 02

But it wasn't ominous, but it was strange and I marked. Like, you ever make a mental note for no reason?

• 42:52Mark Normand?

  Yeah.

• 42:53Speaker 02

He goes, "She's my girlfriend now."

• 42:55Mark Normand?

  Weird.

• 42:56Speaker 02

And it struck me as odd, but not threatening. I didn't feel menaced by it or like she was in danger. But obviously after all the other stuff, I'm like, "Oh, I see."

• 43:04Sam Morril?

  It's not great.

• 43:05Speaker 02

  Yeah, it's not great.

• 43:06Sam Morril?

What were his interactions with the other people like?

• 43:09Speaker 02

Politely talking to them and answering. I had met him before. Ron Bennington was gonna interview him. And so I wanted to meet Cosby, so he brought me in to just say hello real quick. And then there was a technical glitch, so I had like 10 minutes with him. And he was just asking me questions about doing stand-up and why I started. And I remember him, like, he would ask a question and I would answer it. And he was focusing on me and listening. And I'm like, "That's why this guy's a great comic." Because he fucking listens and observes everything.

• 43:38Mark Normand?

  Yeah.

• 43:39Speaker 02

Like, you know what I mean? Like, no information was too... If he was faking it, he was faking it, but he didn't really have any reason to. He just, all the information, he seems like he took everything in. And I'm like, "That's why he's a really great comic."

• 43:50Mark Normand?

  Interesting.

• 43:50Speaker 02

  He just takes everything in.

• 43:51Mark Normand?

  Wow.

• 43:52Speaker 02

  Yeah.

• 43:53Mark Normand?

So what happened? Did your girlfriend go with him?

• 43:55Speaker 02

No, but I wish she would've.

• 43:59Speaker 02

Helping my special numbers. I'd be like, "Wait till I tell you about my husband." No, we just left. I mean, it's the whole thing. It just struck me. If he didn't get, you know, persecuted.

• 44:10Speaker 02

But if that didn't happen, I probably wouldn't even have remembered that.

• 44:13Mark Normand?

  Yeah.

• 44:14Speaker 02

Such a minor footnote. And I look back, I'm like, oh yeah, that was weird.

• 44:19Mark Normand?

That's weird, yeah. It's such a bummer. I was gonna say, it's a bummer what happened to AC. Because AC used to be like a thriving

• 44:25Speaker 02

  I know.

• 44:25Mark Normand?

city and comedy scene. But then I'm like, well, it's a bummer what happened to Cosby.

• 44:28Speaker 02

  Yeah.

• 44:29Mark Normand?

But, yeah, like, AC, you ever been, you ever been there recently?

• 44:32Speaker 02

  No.

• 44:33Mark Normand?

It's just sad and dingy and rundown.

• 44:37Sam Morril?

Or take a cab anywhere. You don't, you don't wanna go anywhere.

• 44:39Speaker 02

  Oh, has it gotten worse?

• 44:41Mark Normand?

  Oh, yeah.

• 44:41Sam Morril?

  It's fucking dicey, dude.

• 44:42Mark Normand?

Boardwalk's a bummer. Everything's trash and broken down buildings and, you know, just, it's a shell of a city.

• 44:49Speaker 02

Do you know what it probably is? Because now gambling is legal, like they have Mohegan Sun, you have Foxwoods. You got, and online gambling.

• 44:55Mark Normand?

  Yes.

• 44:55Speaker 02

So the importance of it, it used to be Vegas and AC and that was it. So at least you had some reason to go there.

• 45:01Mark Normand?

  Yeah, good point.

• 45:02Speaker 02

And now people are like, fuck this, we'll go to the Poconos and gamble. Why would we go to this shithole?

• 45:05Mark Normand?

Yeah, I pull up DraftKings and just go nuts on my phone. I, I went to college with a guy, we lived together, and he would pay his rent with online gambling.

• 45:12Speaker 02

  Yeah.

• 45:12Mark Normand?

And he never missed, never missed a buck?

• 45:14Sam Morril?

I had a friend like that, yeah. I mean, AC is not the destination that like, you know, Vegas is.

• 45:19Speaker 02

  No.

• 45:19Sam Morril?

So, I, I mean, I like doing gigs there, but then I'm kinda in and out.

• 45:23Mark Normand?

  In and out.

• 45:24Speaker 02

Yeah, I used to do the Borgata. I would always do Martin Luther King Jr.'s birthday. I would do three nights at the Borgata. It was such a great hotel. Again, I'm sure the hotel is still fine, but yeah, I haven't been to, to AC in about five or six years.

• 45:37Sam Morril?

Yeah, I had a weird all-nighter in there with the tell once. We just gambled all night.

• 45:41Mark Normand?

  Really?

• 45:41Sam Morril?

It was like one of the most fun nights of my life.

• 45:43Speaker 02

  In the Borgata?

• 45:44Sam Morril?

Yeah, it was like years ago. It was just like, it was cool to see a tell in like a really good mood.

• 45:48Mark Normand?

  Yeah.

• 45:49Sam Morril?

We were both up a lot of money. It was one of those like rare, and people didn't know who he was, but he's just fucking zinging people.

• 45:54Mark Normand?

  Oh.

• 45:55Sam Morril?

You know, like some guy yelled at me like, you know, you're supposed to hit there, and the tell goes, thanks professor, you know, just being so condescending to people. But they were, by the end, they were all laughing their ass off at him. And it was like, I remember we just like walked outside, like, he drags a cigarette. He's like, wow, what a fucking fun night.

• 46:10Mark Normand?

  Oh, my god.

• 46:11Sam Morril?

  It was pretty cool.

• 46:11Speaker 02

  Yeah.

• 46:12Mark Normand?

  That's sober Dave, too.

• 46:14Sam Morril?

  Yeah.

• 46:14Mark Normand?

  Imagine him drinking.

• 46:15Sam Morril?

I was not. But it was a fun, I mean, shit, but I've had some good times at the Borgata for sure.

• 46:20Speaker 02

Yeah, it's a great hotel. I just, I just haven't gone in a while. And now you're saying it's kinda shitty, so.

• 46:25Sam Morril?

  Like, the hotel's nice.

• 46:26Speaker 02

  The city, I mean.

• 46:26Sam Morril?

And the, and the casino's nice. But yeah, like, you walk around down there, dude. Like, I remember doing like...

• 46:32Mark Normand?

Like a week at the Tropicana, that was fucking rough.

• 46:34Speaker 02

Oh god, me and Voss, the Tropicana one time, they thought it'd be a great, like, cause they wanted to get people in, so they said it was one of the hosts' birthdays, or, so they had three hosts, and, uh, they had me and Voss roasting them, because they were like, "Hey, we're gonna have a birthday roast."

• 46:48Mark Normand?

  Oh boy.

• 46:49Speaker 02

And they had like 600 people there, but it was just a ruse to get gamblers in.

• 46:53Mark Normand?

  Yeah.

• 46:53Speaker 02

And Gettard booked us, and, cause they, they didn't understand what a roast was, this is many years ago, so we're just going up and insulting these guys.

• 47:01Mark Normand?

  Yeah.

• 47:01Speaker 02

You know, that they liked a lot, and we, I fucking bombed horribly at that ro- that was a really rough day. Uh, it was an afternoon gig, I think Voss bombed as well, but they didn't tell them what a roast was, so yeah.

• 47:13Mark Normand?

Also, if you don't know the guy, it's just insults, and then, it's not like, uh, it's just mean. And now, not only you bombing, but they don't like you. You're not just not funny, they're like, "You're, you're an asshole."

• 47:24Speaker 02

  You're an asshole.

• 47:25Mark Normand?

You also are great on roasts, you were on the, I, I just remember like scrolling around TV and you were on like a Gene Simmons roast randomly.

• 47:31Speaker 02

Whoa. Oh yeah, Jeff Ross, thank you to Jeff Ross, cause I love Kiss, and Jeff was, was doing something for Family Jewels, he goes, "You wanna roast Gene?" I'm like, "Fuck yeah, I want to." Uh, that was, because I'm roasting a guy I love.

• 47:42Mark Normand?

  Yeah.

• 47:42Speaker 02

Or if I'm roasting, you know, like Saget, I did that cause he requested me, cause I, like, if, if, I, I don't like all the random people on them, that they, just to check boxes, or just to have famous people, it just doesn't make me laugh.

• 47:54Mark Normand?

I had a thought about Saget the other day, did we talk about this on here?

• 47:57Speaker 02

  Yeah.

• 47:58Sam Morril?

And then he got the cleanest show of all time, and then he was hosting, well, the, the... No, the other one.

• 50:13Speaker 02

  America's Fun.

• 50:14Mark Normand?

America's Fun, which is also super wholesome, family-oriented. You know, you win 10 grand if you got the funniest video. It's dads getting kicked in the nuts and kids falling off the couch. But he was a filthy comic.

• 50:24Speaker 02

  Yes.

• 50:24Mark Normand?

I don't feel like that would happen now. I don't think they would take, uh... I'm trying to think of a filthy comic. But, like, Ari Shaffir is never gonna host, you know, whatever the fuck show. America's... well, actually, Stern did. But that's... you know what I'm saying? Like, Ari's not gonna be the dad on a family sitcom.

• 50:43Speaker 02

  Right.

• 50:44Mark Normand?

Because we know too much now. Back then, there was no internet. So you're like, who's this tall, handsome guy? Make him the dad. But now, I feel like people would research you and go, we could have this guy as the dad on this? It's, he was the amazing racist.

• 50:56Sam Morril?

He probably wasn't a big enough dirty comic at the time.

• 50:59Mark Normand?

  I guess so, yeah.

• 51:00Speaker 02

No one was pulling up his old sets, because where would you pull them up? If you didn't have it, like, you wouldn't know what he was like in a nightclub.

• 51:06Mark Normand?

Yeah, but I mean, he did a Dangerfield, a young comedian. He did a couple of things, but back then it was like, who cares? He's, he looks right for the part. And then he can be the, the host of this wholesome game show, too.

• 51:18Speaker 02

And nobody cared, though. Nobody was mad about it. People were like, so what? He's a dirty comedian. Like, it didn't matter. Nobody was upset about it and...

• 51:23Mark Normand?

No, but now it's like Jimmy Fallon did blackface 20 years ago, and you're like, okay.

• 51:29Speaker 02

Yeah, that's why I like him.

• 51:32Mark Normand?

Just saying, you didn't dig in back then. It was just like, he's, he's, put that guy as the host, there you go.

• 51:37Sam Morril?

Yeah, but I feel like people liked, you know, his, his stand-up, like, he'd get a laugh just because he was dirty. He would just show up and be filthy, be like, oh shit, that's, people didn't know.

• 51:45Mark Normand?

  Yeah, yeah, totally.

• 51:47Speaker 02

What turned people on to how dirty Saget was, was when he did, uh, the movie with Chappelle and Brewer.

• 51:53Sam Morril?

  Half-baked.

• 51:54Speaker 02

Half-baked, and he had that line about suck dicks for coke. And I was at, I think I went to the premiere of that, but I remember that everyone was shocked.

• 52:00Mark Normand?

  Yes.

• 52:01Speaker 02

That Bob Saget had just said that. And that was kinda like, people go, oh, he's dirty. I believe that was the first time it, like, after his fame, that that became known, like, oh yeah, he was a dirty comedian.

• 52:11Mark Normand?

I think you're right. That was a shocker.

• 52:13Sam Morril?

Was that roast a lot of fun? I remember, because that was like the one where Norm went off.

• 52:17Speaker 02

  Oh my god, yeah.

• 52:18Mark Normand?

  Blueberries.

• 52:19Speaker 02

Yeah, I, I said, look at you, picking blueberries. Uh, he was very funny. Geraldo was great. Chloris Leachman was fucking hilarious in that one. Um, yeah, it was great just to be included, because they, I think we had done like a traveling virus show the night before, and Geraldo was on it, and we flew in the day of the roast, which just sucks. Flying cross-country and not sleeping. I remember I had, they wanted me to close it after Gilbert, and, uh, I'm like, let Gilbert close it.

• 52:44Mark Normand?

  Yeah.

• 52:44Speaker 02

Gilbert's fucking, he's just gonna do jokes, he's gonna murder. And Artie Lange, they tried to get desperately for that. They were willing to fly him out with a doctor, like, on a...

• 52:53Mark Normand?

  Wow.

• 52:54Speaker 02

They were gonna put him on a private plane, but they just, he just couldn't get it together. He was having a rough, bit of a rough go at that point.

• 52:59Mark Normand?

  Yeah.

• 53:00Speaker 02

Yeah, I'm glad I did it.

• 53:01Mark Normand?

Was that the one where Geraldo, uh, had to help? Uh, Artie Lang?

• 53:05Sam Morril?

No, cause Artie didn't go to that one.

• 53:06Mark Normand?

  Oh, yeah.

• 53:07Sam Morril?

No, that's the one, Artie, yeah, Artie told us that story where, you know, uh, Geraldo like took care of him, Artie was so fucked up and they went to a roast and...

• 53:16Mark Normand?

I think it was the other way around.

• 53:18Sam Morril?

No, no, no. Uh, oh yeah, Artie, Artie took care, Artie took care of Geraldo.

• 53:22Mark Normand?

He was legless, on a bender, drug addict.

• 53:25Sam Morril?

And he, and he like helped him get his, yeah, sorry, and he, and he gets it all together, they're on the flight, he's like freaking out, he's like, I'll sit with you, I'll fucking take care of you, whatever I can. Helps him a couple days there to like get back on his feet. And then Geraldo's first line, he just turns to Artie Lang and goes, Artie Lang's here, you fat fucking drug addict. And Artie lost it laughing and Greg Geraldo just went like, you know, like just like, it's a show, you know? But, oh, I love that.

• 53:51Mark Normand?

  Yeah, yeah.

• 53:52Sam Morril?

I miss Artie a lot, man, I, you know, he's such a fucking cool dude.

• 53:55Speaker 02

  Where is he?

• 53:56Sam Morril?

  I, I think he's just chilling.

• 53:58Speaker 02

Oh, is he? Okay, I've, I've asked about him a few times, I don't know how to get a hold of him or?

• 54:01Sam Morril?

  Yeah.

• 54:02Speaker 02

He kinda comes and goes, like a man and then he's gone for a while and then he comes back. I heard he was doing okay though.

• 54:07Mark Normand?

All right, we'd love to have him on and, and get him, uh, to relapse.

• 54:10Speaker 02

Yeah, that, I mean, it would be good for the, be good for the gram.

• 54:15Speaker 02

Guy who doesn't know when he's the back.

• 54:19Speaker 03

So are you guys working on any new bits or wanna go over some peeves?

• 54:23Mark Normand?

Oh, yeah, we do peeves on the show.

• 54:25Speaker 02

  Okay.

• 54:25Sam Morril?

  You got any peeves?

• 54:26Mark Normand?

Any, any, anything that bugs ya, pet peeve? Uh, I'm trying to think, I had one, uh, hold on. You got any? Throw them out there.

• 54:36Speaker 03

Or if you're working on any new bits, we can kick it around.

• 54:40Mark Normand?

  He likes to throw, uh...

• 54:41Sam Morril?

He likes to throw the show to the screeching hole.

• 54:43Speaker 02

I don't mind, I, I don't mind the idea. Hey, if you guys are workshopping something, let me think, I'm trying to think if I have any new bits, um, I do on ChatGPT, but I got a few laughs out of it, uh...

• 54:54Mark Normand?

Oh, you're using that for bits?

• 54:55Speaker 02

  What?

• 54:55Mark Normand?

  ChatGPT?

• 54:56Speaker 02

No, no, no, no, I'm actually, I'm writing a bit about my wife being, babbling at it all the time, um...

• 55:01Mark Normand?

  My wife's the same thing.

• 55:02Speaker 02

She just talks to it all day, I'm like, fuck, I mean, I'm like, all right, I guess it's better that than, I have to hear it, but...

• 55:08Mark Normand?

  Right, right.

• 55:09Speaker 02

Um, pet peeve, I don't have any pet peeves, like, we've talked about that before, I don't remember what it was, be funny, somebody just blurts out a bad answer, Jews.

• 55:19Speaker 02

  Did you say something?

• 55:20Sam Morril?

You know what, I'm on Twitter, that's a lot of people's pet peeve.

• 55:24Mark Normand?

  The new mayor, maybe.

• 55:26Speaker 02

Oh, God. That's right, the election is soon.

• 55:29Mark Normand?

Yeah, everybody, I saw the voting stickers today.

• 55:32Speaker 02

  Yeah.

• 55:32Mark Normand?

  Everybody got them on.

• 55:32Speaker 02

I just, yeah, I couldn't. I was, I was running late for here, and I was like, I, I, don't you have to be a Democrat to vote in their primary?

• 55:39Sam Morril?

  Uh, yeah.

• 55:40Speaker 02

  Oh.

• 55:40Sam Morril?

  I think so, yeah.

• 55:41Mark Normand?

  I don't know the rules.

• 55:41Speaker 02

I don't either. I only vote for the governors and the presidents. Who cares? Jim, shut up. Nobody wants to hear that. Do I have a bit that I'm workshopping? No, I can't think of any bit, like, I, I'm, I just kinda talk things through on stage, and that's not good.

• 55:56Sam Morril?

You always have new shit, though. I always see it in the cellar.

• 55:58Speaker 02

But it's, it's also, I gotta write it down, you know what I mean? I gotta, like, you look at Colin's stuff, he comes in with papers.

• 56:02Mark Normand?

  I know.

• 56:03Speaker 02

That's what, that's what our job is, and I'm just kinda chatting through it, and then I get stuck.

• 56:07Mark Normand?

Well, everybody's different. You talk to Burr, he's like, I never write anything down, I just kind of think of an idea and I wing it and figure it out, and I'm like, ah, I can't do that.

• 56:14Sam Morril?

I remember asking Jim Jeffrey once, like, oh, how do you, like, with the, cause his stories are long, he's like, I don't write stuff down, it'd be like a 25-page document for a story, so, yeah, I can't, yeah.

• 56:23Speaker 02

Yeah, talking through a story is probably a little bit different, like, you remember where the beats are and stuff.

• 56:27Sam Morril?

  Yeah.

• 56:27Speaker 02

But like, I, I still, I write things on my phone, I'll just talk them so I remember them. But, um, I was doing a thing on Jeffrey Dahmer's glasses, that just can't, it's not doing mu, it gets like a chuck, like, I just can't. I, I can't find what's really funny about them.

• 56:42Mark Normand?

  Yeah, but they are funny.

• 56:43Speaker 02

A guy bought them, that's what made me.

• 56:45Mark Normand?

  Oh.

• 56:45Speaker 02

A guy bought them at auction, he bought Dahmer's glasses, so I'm trying to do a bit.

• 56:49Mark Normand?

That'd be fun if you put them on and you became gay, you know, in a cannibal.

• 56:52Speaker 02

  That's funny.

• 56:53Mark Normand?

  You know, like, They Live?

• 56:54Sam Morril?

  Like being John Malkovich.

• 56:55Mark Normand?

  Yeah, yeah.

• 56:57Speaker 02

No, I did some dumb line about, I wonder if he puts them on when he's getting blown and tells people you have no idea the pressure you're under right now?

• 57:04Speaker 02

It gets a minor, like, it's, it's not enough to justify a fucking Look Down blowjob reference. By the way, as I did that, I'm looking at my own fat stomach. Speaking of Brando.

• 57:14Speaker 02

  Disgusting.

• 57:15Sam Morril?

You have any, you have any recs, like, movie or, uh, or anything, anything you recommend?

• 57:21Mark Normand?

You know what's annoying about the Dahmer, remember when the Netflix came out?

• 57:25Speaker 02

  Yes.

• 57:25Mark Normand?

  Sorry, I cut you off.

• 57:26Speaker 02

  No, I know.

• 57:26Mark Normand?

But, uh, a bunch of people made it about like, can you believe he's killing and eating, uh, people of color and, and gays? And you're like, the guy's eating people.

• 57:36Speaker 02

  He was gay.

• 57:37Mark Normand?

Yeah, who cares what kind of people he's eating? Like, he's eating human beings. That should be the story.

• 57:41Speaker 02

Who cares what his fucking, his dietary preference? Fucking drilling holes in heads.

• 57:46Mark Normand?

I know. He's eating Mexicans like spicy. No, he's eating people. Who gives a fuck?

• 57:50Speaker 02

Who cares if they're black? Like, yeah, literally, that's just who he likes, who he's attracted to.

• 57:53Mark Normand?

  Yeah.

• 57:54Speaker 02

Like, he was murdering people he was attracted to.

• 57:56Sam Morril?

The terrible shave job there, too. Look at that.

• 57:58Speaker 02

  It really is.

• 57:59Sam Morril?

  He's missing so many spots.

• 58:00Speaker 02

Yeah. He's probably a quick shaver, though. Like, he'd start shaving and then just realize, like, he wanted to fucking drill somebody's head, and he would just put the razor down. Like, I can't commit to this right now.

• 58:09Sam Morril?

You know what else I could do with this razor?

• 58:10Mark Normand?

  Yeah.

• 58:11Speaker 02

Any recommendations? Um, I did, I watched something I wouldn't recommend, which is a fucking documentary. It was called The Many Deaths of Nora something on Netflix. This woman who had been, uh, I don't know, she was killed years ago in Argentina. And, um, they, they falsely, maybe that's Nora Dalmaso. It's a, really an annoying documentary. That could have been one episode. So I do not recommend watching.

• 58:36Mark Normand?

  Stretch them.

• 58:37Sam Morril?

That's actually a peeve, when they stretch them like six fucking episodes and there's no, there's like one hook.

• 58:42Mark Normand?

I know. Making a murder, was it Making a Murderer?

• 58:45Sam Morril?

Oh, my gosh. And then they came back for seconds.

• 58:47Mark Normand?

  Yeah.

• 58:48Sam Morril?

And I was like, this could be, they're like doing all these courtroom things. I'm like, just fucking get to it.

• 58:52Speaker 02

And he's guilty. And he's a fucking guilty piece of shit.

• 58:55Mark Normand?

Yeah, that fucking staircase. That was like.

• 58:58Sam Morril?

That was, that was good, though.

• 58:59Mark Normand?

It was good, but I was like, get to it.

• 59:00Sam Morril?

That was the only, that was the only long one where I was like, that was fucking solid.

• 59:04Speaker 02

That's a pet peeve. Uh, season two of show, like, when they fuck up season two, and you could, like, something that was supposed to be a 10-episode capsule, that they now have to stretch because it's so popular, like Severance season two lost me. Like, season one was interesting and then they're just doing weird things in season two to make it like weird? Or to serve what they're doing. That, that's a pet peeve.

• 59:29Sam Morril?

I think it's so hard to make a show now that people are just like, they're just like, I don't fucking know what I'm, where it's gonna go.

• 59:34Speaker 02

  Yeah.

• 59:34Sam Morril?

They're just selling us the hard part now, you know?

• 59:37Speaker 02

That's right. Yeah, yeah. Everyone's got a great elevator pitch, except for me, though. I've never sold anything.

• 59:40Mark Normand?

  Me neither.

• 59:41Speaker 02

My elevator pitch stinks. I'm a bad pitcher. Yeah, it's fucking hard.

• 59:45Mark Normand?

I think you gotta make it now and just give it to them. That seems like the way to do it. Cause pitching, no one's gonna buy anything from us. Who the fuck are we?

• 59:52Speaker 02

  I have an a- a- a- an animation I wanna do.

• 59:55Mark Normand?

  Mmm.

• 59:56Speaker 02

Which I may have to make myself. I- I have episodes written and I have like, I really like it, but it's, I've just never been able to.

• 1:00:02Sam Morril?

  What's the, what's the premise?

• 1:00:03Speaker 02

It was about a sex addict. Uh, but then.

• 1:00:06Mark Normand?

  A cartoon, I like it.

• 1:00:07Speaker 02

But then, well, it was originally written for me and then I realized I'm not this blinking with a fat neck. I'm not a vehicle that people wanna put their money on. So I'll draw it.

• 1:00:15Mark Normand?

  Ah.

• 1:00:15Speaker 02

And then there was another animation that we pitched about a, a guy, uh, who, who, uh, everything was a pilot. Every episode was a pilot.

• 1:00:23Mark Normand?

  Ah.

• 1:00:23Speaker 02

Of something that didn't work because I ruined it.

• 1:00:26Mark Normand?

  Right.

• 1:00:26Speaker 02

Because my own, like I put myself in it or I did something where I sucked.

• 1:00:30Mark Normand?

  Ah, that's interesting.

• 1:00:30Speaker 02

Everyone was Jim Norton wrecking a project and they just.

• 1:00:33Sam Morril?

What about Chip Chipperson, the animated show? That could be kinda.

• 1:00:36Speaker 02

I started that, you know, it's funny.

• 1:00:38Sam Morril?

Isn't there footage of that online?

• 1:00:39Speaker 02

I, I did an anime, uh, no, I did the episodes. I, I started animating episodes. I get all this money donated to me. People thought I stole it. But I just didn't like, when I, I did the, the first bit of animation and people hated it. So I'm like, alright, now I gotta rethink this. So from that came the podcast and from that podcast, I animated a bunch of the episodes with the money. But no, there's, yeah, that one, people hated. Um, and they, they just didn't like, but I, I listened. Like instead of wasting the money and doing episodes they were gonna hate, we wound up starting, like that's just for the podcast.

• 1:01:10Mark Normand?

  Oh, cool.

• 1:01:12Speaker 02

Yeah, or the whole Chippies Mittens that you're.

• 1:01:13Mark Normand?

  Oh, yeah.

• 1:01:14Speaker 02

  They've, they've done that.

• 1:01:15Mark Normand?

  Chippies Mittens?

• 1:01:16Sam Morril?

I mean, he's a funny looking dude. I kinda liked the look of it.

• 1:01:19Mark Normand?

  I love it too.

• 1:01:20Speaker 02

Yeah, I think they did a pretty good job. Uh, I always wanted to animate Doug Bell, but nobody likes Doug Bell.

• 1:01:24Mark Normand?

  Ah.

• 1:01:25Speaker 02

Nobody has, it's got no legs. So, yeah, there's a bunch of projects no one gives a fuck about.

• 1:01:30Mark Normand?

I say make it and, you know, Pixar will pick that right up.

• 1:01:35Speaker 02

Um, yeah, well, it's a matter of where, like, what do I do with it afterwards?

• 1:01:37Mark Normand?

I know, I know. Well, we had Segura on. He has that new show, Bad Thoughts.

• 1:01:41Speaker 02

  Yes.

• 1:01:41Mark Normand?

He paid for the whole thing. He was like, I'll just try to make it. I'll make it and then try to sell it. And if I don't, I'll put it behind a paywall.

• 1:01:48Speaker 02

Oh, very smart. That's what happens when you have a big fanbase.

• 1:01:50Mark Normand?

  I know.

• 1:01:51Speaker 02

Like, I can't do that. If I put, you know, I did a special I'm hoping people watch. And if they don't, like, I'm like, alright, what do I?

• 1:01:57Sam Morril?

  Where's the, where's the special?

• 1:01:58Speaker 02

  YouTube.

• 1:01:59Sam Morril?

  What's the name of it?

• 1:02:00Speaker 02

  Uh, Unconceivable.

• 1:02:01Mark Normand?

  I watched it, really funny.

• 1:02:02Speaker 02

Oh, thank you, that's right, I forgot to send it to you.

• 1:02:04Mark Normand?

  Yeah.

• 1:02:04Speaker 02

I sent it to Mark because Mark always knows what bits people are doing. I'm like, is anybody doing any of that? I wanted to make sure before it came out, um, that nobody else was, was doing, you know what I mean? So I sent it to somebody who I know.

• 1:02:16Mark Normand?

No, you're saying, no one has a bit about Trump Jr.'s dick.

• 1:02:22Speaker 02

  Yeah, so hopefully.

• 1:02:23Sam Morril?

Oh, definitely, yeah, definitely watch this, guys. One, one of the best.

• 1:02:26Speaker 02

  Ah.

• 1:02:26Sam Morril?

  So prolific.

• 1:02:27Speaker 02

  Right.

• 1:02:27Sam Morril?

I mean, dude, every time I see it at the Cellar, it's like, great new shit.

• 1:02:30Speaker 02

It is the best, thank you, it is the best.

• 1:02:32Sam Morril?

  You and Colin, every time.

• 1:02:33Speaker 02

It is the best when you shoot something and you can be dumb with stuff like, I don't have to fucking say that ever again.

• 1:02:37Mark Normand?

Yeah, it's the beauty of YouTube, just throw it up.

• 1:02:39Sam Morril?

But then writing the new shit, man, the starting, starting from scratch is, it's fun, but it's also, it is miserable. Cause I go through that phase whenever I start a new hour where it's like, it's just not connecting.

• 1:02:50Speaker 02

  Yeah.

• 1:02:50Sam Morril?

And then, and then you get that like fake like, well, you, well, this will hit, this will hit. Cause the whole set is weaker and you get like a fake like, oh, that's a good joke. And then you realize once you write better shit, that joke fucking sucks. This joke sucks. And it just, that process is, I, I'm not looking forward to starting it again.

• 1:03:06Speaker 02

It's my favorite time though, like when I'm done with something, like it's, ah, yuck, put that down. And just start kind of talking with no joke, like I fucking love.

• 1:03:14Mark Normand?

  Really?

• 1:03:14Speaker 02

Yeah, I go in the Cellar like that with it, like maybe one bit, like I did a Sandusky joke that I didn't wind up keeping in the special. Cause it literally was just gonna be overloaded with too much pedo references.

• 1:03:24Mark Normand?

  Oh, yeah.

• 1:03:25Speaker 02

So I'm like, take that out and I'll just start my new hour with that.

• 1:03:28Sam Morril?

  That's nice.

• 1:03:28Speaker 02

  Yeah, nice to have that.

• 1:03:30Sam Morril?

  Yeah.

• 1:03:30Mark Normand?

Damn, yeah, I don't know, but dude, do you go on the road and do clubs?

• 1:03:34Speaker 02

  Yeah, yeah.

• 1:03:34Mark Normand?

  And then just play around?

• 1:03:35Speaker 02

I got like a new, I'm about to have my new 45 at this point, but.

• 1:03:37Mark Normand?

  Whoa!

• 1:03:38Speaker 02

It's been a few months, I mean, it's not like that.

• 1:03:40Mark Normand?

  Still, that's quick.

• 1:03:41Sam Morril?

  That's quick as fuck.

• 1:03:42Speaker 02

Yeah, well, but again, out of that, how much is good, you know, 25 maybe.

• 1:03:46Mark Normand?

As long as the people see you and leave and they go, that was fun, we had a good time.

• 1:03:51Speaker 02

  Yeah, I guess so.

• 1:03:52Sam Morril?

It's hard. I feel like I'm also in that place now where like, pretty much everything when I do like forty-five or so is working, so then it's, then it becomes hard to write. Cause you're like, alright, I'm tagging. I'm not like writing new shit. I'm like editing the stuff I have. But then it almost feels like your brain shuts off to the new ideas and it's focused on editing.

• 1:04:09Mark Normand?

  Yes.

• 1:04:10Sam Morril?

And editing is just not as fun as writing, you know?

• 1:04:12Speaker 02

No, and it's also, like when I get an order in my head, sometimes I just make myself do it the other way, cause I'm like, I'm like, don't get caught in this rut of just saying it this way.

• 1:04:21Mark Normand?

  That's true.

• 1:04:22Speaker 02

  It's gonna be boring fast.

• 1:04:23Mark Normand?

But don't you find the order matters? You could, this joke works better after that joke or before that joke?

• 1:04:28Speaker 02

Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. But I just, so I remember what I'm saying and it's not this automatic pilot thing as I fucking plummet into the ocean.

• 1:04:34Mark Normand?

Louis always said, uh, if you got a bit about where you say five bottles of shit on the table, just change it to six for the next show, just so you don't get on autopilot.

• 1:04:43Speaker 02

  Yeah.

• 1:04:44Mark Normand?

That was always a good tip.

• 1:04:45Sam Morril?

But also just change up the orders good, cause you'll sometimes find like a callback.

• 1:04:48Mark Normand?

  That's true.

• 1:04:48Sam Morril?

But also, also on top of that, like, I feel like so many comics are going top-heavy now with their material because of people's attention span.

• 1:04:55Speaker 02

  Yeah.

• 1:04:55Sam Morril?

New audience and you're like, I better bring the fucking heat for the first ten.

• 1:04:58Mark Normand?

  That's true.

• 1:04:59Sam Morril?

Which is back in the day, I feel like it was the opposite.

• 1:05:02Mark Normand?

Here, here. I agree, yeah. Back then, you closed it strong. Nice. Hey, that's like a dueling piano.

• 1:05:10Speaker 02

  Yeah, yeah.

• 1:05:10Sam Morril?

If I can pull one off, we can start a band here. Let's do it.

• 1:05:13Speaker 02

I just felt it was obligatory to respond.

• 1:05:16Mark Normand?

  Yes.

• 1:05:17Speaker 02

If you make a statement and I don't respond, it's rude on my part.

• 1:05:20Mark Normand?

Shark Tank. Uh, Deliver It, what does that mean? Oh, dueling assholes.

• 1:05:29Mark Normand?

What's up with that kid? Did he get blown after this movie came out? Like, did he have a good run at the bar?

• 1:05:34Sam Morril?

  There he goes.

• 1:05:35Mark Normand?

  Whoa!

• 1:05:38Sam Morril?

Don't eat. Shout out Ned Beatty for taking that role. And taking that role. You're just getting tortured. Every fucking drunk frat boy for the rest of your life is like, you're the fucking.

• 1:05:47Mark Normand?

  The rape guy.

• 1:05:48Sam Morril?

  You're the rape guy.

• 1:05:49Speaker 02

That was such a great scene, the like smacking his big fat white dumper.

• 1:05:55Mark Normand?

They always talk about the Seinfeld curse, like Kramer couldn't get a job after because he was so Kramer. I can't not see Ned Beatty as the guy unless he's getting pounded, that's all I see.

• 1:06:03Speaker 02

But he got a lot of work after that.

• 1:06:05Mark Normand?

  He did.

• 1:06:05Speaker 02

Played Lex Luthor, he was in-

• 1:06:06Mark Normand?

  Back to school.

• 1:06:07Speaker 02

  What's that?

• 1:06:08Mark Normand?

  Back to school, he's great.

• 1:06:09Speaker 02

  Right, yeah, he's a monster.

• 1:06:11Mark Normand?

The Honorable Dean Martin. There he is. Oh yeah, he had a hell of a run.

• 1:06:14Speaker 02

Yeah, John Voight fucking, Burt Reynolds was great in that.

• 1:06:17Mark Normand?

Oh, he's a badass, dude. What a man.

• 1:06:19Speaker 02

He said he regretted too, I, I, uh, I think Chaz Palminteri I had on and he, he said that like Burt talked to him and regretted taking certain movies, he's like, that would be these, they had dinner together and he said the, he might've even said this off the air, but he said that Burt said the one thing he regretted was going for the money, like, he's like, I should've done better roles.

• 1:06:38Mark Normand?

  Really?

• 1:06:39Speaker 02

Taking stuff like, like, you know, Smokey and the Bandit was fucking hilarious.

• 1:06:42Mark Normand?

  Yeah.

• 1:06:42Speaker 02

But taking stuff like Cannonball Run, or, or, you know what I mean, like maybe Sharky's Machine, or a few things that he probably didn't need to do. He said he wished he had gone for the actual-

• 1:06:51Mark Normand?

He didn't chase enough good roles, he didn't think?

• 1:06:53Speaker 02

Uh, he didn't think so, but he was the biggest boxer of a straw of the seventies, it's hard to say, no.

• 1:06:58Mark Normand?

But he seemed to take the same role over and over, like tough guy, tough guy, tough guy, he had no range.

• 1:07:02Speaker 02

  Yeah.

• 1:07:03Mark Normand?

Yeah, but he brought it all back with Boogie Nights.

• 1:07:05Speaker 02

He certainly, and he hated that one.

• 1:07:06Mark Normand?

  Apparently hated it, yeah.

• 1:07:07Speaker 02

  Really?

• 1:07:07Mark Normand?

  What?

• 1:07:08Speaker 02

I heard he started doing it with an Irish accent.

• 1:07:10Mark Normand?

I heard that too. Whoa. Cause he thought it sucked.

• 1:07:13Speaker 02

  It's, it's not working, Burt.

• 1:07:15Mark Normand?

Well, pull up, uh, have you shown- Boogie Nights is like maybe his best movie. I know. It's a fucking masterpiece. Show him Zarza. Oh yeah. Have you seen this?

• 1:07:24Speaker 02

  No.

• 1:07:24Mark Normand?

Uh- Oh, this is Sean Connery, right? Oh, I thought it was, oh shit, you're right, I thought it was Burt, nevermind.

• 1:07:30Speaker 02

  Is that a bad movie?

• 1:07:31Mark Normand?

No, it's the same director as Deliverance. Ah. It's his next movie. Nevermind. What, was it Zo- Zohar Zarza?

• 1:07:38Speaker 02

Was it a good movie or a bomb?

• 1:07:39Mark Normand?

It is. It's a shit. No, that's not it. No, that's the new governor, mayor, Zohar.

• 1:07:45Speaker 02

There are those classics, like Heaven's- Heaven's Gate was the big one, that was a giant bomb, there's a few of them that are just known to be bombs, Heaven's Gate with Kris Kristofferson, I think is one of those legendary fucking shit jobs.

• 1:08:02Mark Normand?

  Uh, Deliverance, hold on.

• 1:08:03Sam Morril?

  Yeah, I'm going Borman.

• 1:08:04Mark Normand?

  Uh, Borman.

• 1:08:06Speaker 02

  Borman, that's right.

• 1:08:08Mark Normand?

That's what they called me on stage.

• 1:08:11Sam Morril?

  Mark Borman.

• 1:08:11Speaker 02

  Ah, damn it.

• 1:08:12Mark Normand?

  Sorry.

• 1:08:13Speaker 02

No, I'm not goddamning you, I'm goddamning myself. I should have pinched that one off when I let it go and saved it into two.

• 1:08:20Mark Normand?

  Oh, you couldn't have known.

• 1:08:21Speaker 02

Two halves, no, but I should have assumed.

• 1:08:23Mark Normand?

  You hate a sequel.

• 1:08:24Sam Morril?

  There it is. Sean Connery.

• 1:08:26Speaker 02

  Was it a comedy?

• 1:08:27Mark Normand?

  No.

• 1:08:29Speaker 02

  Oh, no.

• 1:08:29Mark Normand?

Very serious. The Scottish wife beater. I tried watching it. Had to do this movie. Huge bomb. It was like his, uh, passion project.

• 1:08:39Speaker 02

  Sean Connery's or Borman?

• 1:08:41Mark Normand?

  Uh, Connery.

• 1:08:42Speaker 02

Passion projects always fucking suck. Travolta's passion project was that fucking Scientology movie that sucked.

• 1:08:50Mark Normand?

  Battlestar Earth?

• 1:08:51Speaker 03

  Battleship Earth?

• 1:08:52Speaker 02

  There you go, Battleship Earth.

• 1:08:53Mark Normand?

  Yeah.

• 1:08:54Speaker 02

Steven, uh, Spielberg's passion project. It didn't suck, but the, the Freedmans, that Freedmans movie he did, I didn't...

• 1:09:02Sam Morril?

  Fablemans?

• 1:09:02Speaker 02

He just did it. It was that?

• 1:09:04Sam Morril?

  Yeah.

• 1:09:05Mark Normand?

  Fableman?

• 1:09:05Speaker 02

I'm sorry, Fablemans. The Freedmans is that fucking pedo documentary.

• 1:09:08Sam Morril?

  That was great.

• 1:09:09Speaker 02

  Yeah, that was...

• 1:09:12Speaker 02

Yeah, sorry, the Fablemans. It wasn't awful, but I was like, who cares? I don't give a fuck.

• 1:09:17Sam Morril?

No, I thought it was good. I just, it was just, you know, he's made so much great shit, it's kinda hard at this point, you know?

• 1:09:21Speaker 02

Yeah, I just don't care what inspired a director to use a certain camera. I just didn't, and they, and he made the decision to shoot it in that weird... I don't know what the style would be, but it was that fucking bizarre, like, almost like comic book brought to life.

• 1:09:33Mark Normand?

  Yeah, right, right.

• 1:09:34Speaker 02

  Like Batman 2 or something?

• 1:09:36Mark Normand?

  Mm-hmm. Oh, yeah, Schumacher.

• 1:09:38Speaker 02

Yeah, there you go, Joel Schumacher. Batman 2, I say. Talk about not being in show business.

• 1:09:43Mark Normand?

  Returns, was it? Batman Returns.

• 1:09:45Speaker 02

  Probably.

• 1:09:46Mark Normand?

  Yeah.

• 1:09:47Sam Morril?

That was Tim Burton, though, I think, wasn't it?

• 1:09:48Mark Normand?

Oh, maybe you're right, maybe you're right. Yeah, Batman and Robin was Schumacher.

• 1:09:52Speaker 02

  Um, yeah.

• 1:09:53Mark Normand?

  With the nipples.

• 1:09:54Speaker 02

Heaven's Gate was a fucking complete, that was like the reference.

• 1:09:57Sam Morril?

  I don't know it.

• 1:09:58Speaker 02

Oh. Like, all I know is Kris Kristoff, I think Warren Beatty was in it too, Kris Kristofferson.

• 1:10:04Sam Morril?

  Yeah.

• 1:10:05Mark Normand?

  He was a hunk.

• 1:10:06Speaker 02

  Warren Beatty?

• 1:10:06Mark Normand?

  Yeah.

• 1:10:07Speaker 02

Oh, he dumped a lot of loads. Him and Nicholson, they used to, they used to walk out and see who could bring more women, who could leave with more girls.

• 1:10:13Mark Normand?

  Wow.

• 1:10:15Speaker 02

Yeah, Jack was another fucking twat machine.

• 1:10:17Mark Normand?

  Huge hog, apparently.

• 1:10:18Speaker 02

  Nicholson?

• 1:10:19Mark Normand?

Yeah, I heard him on, uh, Porn Star and Howard Stern, as, when I was a kid, was like, oh, yeah, we all fuck Nicholson, huge hog.

• 1:10:26Speaker 02

That makes me so happy because I love Jack.

• 1:10:28Sam Morril?

I love him. I love them both. They're fucking, I mean, great.

• 1:10:32Speaker 02

  Warren Beatty and him?

• 1:10:33Sam Morril?

  Yeah, fucking great.

• 1:10:34Speaker 02

What has Warren Beatty done in the last, oh, look at, I love Nicholson. There's a picture of Nicholson on the back of a boat with, with his tits. Eating a giant sub and a bunch of blondes around him. I'm like, I fucking love Jack.

• 1:10:45Mark Normand?

Oh, that's fun. He's just living. He's on, uh, there he is. He's out there. Never seen that.

• 1:10:51Speaker 02

How do you not love this guy with his sub sandwich?

• 1:10:53Mark Normand?

I thought it was Hannah Gadsby.

• 1:10:57Mark Normand?

He's, uh, he's just at the Lakers game with sunglasses on, just getting laid. He's just living life.

• 1:11:02Speaker 02

He is living life. And he was at a Laker game not long ago. Like, recently, like, his first outing in a long time. I was very happy.

• 1:11:08Mark Normand?

He's not doing Chase Bank commercials or face to camera bullshit. He's not singing, uh, We Are The World with fucking Gal Gadot during the pandemic.

• 1:11:16Speaker 02

Oh, that really made me cry.

• 1:11:18Sam Morril?

  That would hurt to see.

• 1:11:19Mark Normand?

  Oh, yeah.

• 1:11:21Speaker 02

We are, oh, this leads me into my Nicholson impression. We are the children. I was worried I wouldn't get there, guys.

• 1:11:29Mark Normand?

  We got there. Hell, yeah.

• 1:11:32Speaker 02

  Oh, my.

• 1:11:32Sam Morril?

This whole podcast has been one long, uh, just trying to get to the Nicholson impression.

• 1:11:36Speaker 02

There was a note I gave, I'll say it now, get me to Nicholson. And we found a way that felt organic to do it.

• 1:11:43Mark Normand?

Is that Nicholson smoking in the ocean with his, uh, body underwater? Oh, my God. What a badass.

• 1:11:49Sam Morril?

That is not, that, it makes me glad he's still going because that is not the picture of health right there.

• 1:11:53Speaker 02

Dude, he's in his eighties. Isn't that crazy?

• 1:11:54Sam Morril?

  Eighty-seven, I think.

• 1:11:55Mark Normand?

And a lot of, lot of blow.

• 1:11:58Speaker 02

Uh, yeah. Him and Brando were neighbors. I believe they were neighbors on Mulholland Drive. They lived, uh, yeah, smoking in the water.

• 1:12:07Mark Normand?

That's how you want to go out. Just live your life, just ride into the sunset. Don't fucking do a dumb commercial.

• 1:12:14Speaker 02

You ever see his speech, he won something for Chinatown and he did his, like, BAFTA speech from the set of Cuckoo's Nest. It's just awesome.

• 1:12:21Mark Normand?

  What?

• 1:12:22Sam Morril?

Yeah, he was with, like, Danny DeVito in the background and shit.

• 1:12:24Speaker 02

Yeah, and Louise Fletcher, but it was weird to hear her say Jack Nicholson instead of McMurphy.

• 1:12:29Sam Morril?

  Yeah.

• 1:12:29Speaker 02

Like, I've only seen, like, to see them out of character for a minute was great.

• 1:12:33Mark Normand?

How about, uh, uh, Cuckoo's Nest? The first six minutes he talks about eating a girl out who's what, fifteen? Like you got that red beaver staring at you. What are you gonna do, doc? Come on.

• 1:12:42Speaker 02

  Yeah.

• 1:12:43Sam Morril?

  Seventies was a different time.

• 1:12:44Mark Normand?

  Yeah.

• 1:12:45Speaker 02

What'd he say? She was fifteen going on thirty or something?

• 1:12:48Mark Normand?

Yeah, yeah. Come on, doc. When you got that red beaver staring you in the face?

• 1:12:52Speaker 02

  Mr. Mr.

• 1:13:25Speaker 04

  Red beaver.

• 1:13:26Speaker 02

The doc, Dr. Spivey, I think his name was, he was so good in that because he just listened to all of these weird things McMurphy would say.

• 1:13:34Mark Normand?

  Yeah.

• 1:13:34Speaker 02

Like when he called Louise Fletcher, like he called Nurse Ratched, he's like, I see, I see. He was really great.

• 1:13:42Mark Normand?

Oh, what a, what a great casting. Look at that fucking mug.

• 1:13:45Speaker 02

Um, yeah, he was, he was great. Fucking, uh, DeVito and also Christopher Lloyd.

• 1:13:50Mark Normand?

  Yes, yes.

• 1:13:51Sam Morril?

You really can't make a good guy anymore in a movie where the first scene he's like, she was fifteen.

• 1:13:56Speaker 02

  Yeah.

• 1:13:57Mark Normand?

  No.

• 1:13:57Sam Morril?

  That ship's really sailed.

• 1:14:00Speaker 02

And he dug in. He didn't, he didn't express regret.

• 1:14:04Sam Morril?

  Her pussy was red.

• 1:14:05Speaker 02

It was right there. If you saw it, doc, you would've, you would've understood.

• 1:14:08Mark Normand?

And we loved him. We were like, I like this guy. He's the hero of the movie.

• 1:14:13Sam Morril?

You can make complex characters back then.

• 1:14:15Mark Normand?

  I know. People are flawed.

• 1:14:18Speaker 02

Did you ever read the book? The book was like-

• 1:14:19Sam Morril?

  It's great. It's from Chief's perspective. Yeah, it's great.

• 1:14:22Speaker 02

Which, I like the movie better because you don't know he talks until like, until like halfway through it. Yeah, the book was very good.

• 1:14:29Mark Normand?

How do you do it from his perspective? Was it just his, his mon- inner monologue?

• 1:14:32Sam Morril?

No, he's like witnessing this guy. He's like taking him in.

• 1:14:36Mark Normand?

  Oh, interesting.

• 1:14:38Sam Morril?

But yeah, the movie, I mean, it's an incredible adaptation. The movie is incredible. I loved it.

• 1:14:43Mark Normand?

  Milos Forman.

• 1:14:44Speaker 02

Yeah, and apparently she like, she had big tits in the book. Nurse Ratchet. And like, when he, when he puts her on the ground to choke her, he rips her shirt open. And all the kooks are looking at her big tits.

• 1:14:54Mark Normand?

  Whoa.

• 1:14:55Speaker 02

Like an extra level of humiliation.

• 1:14:57Mark Normand?

Well, it's fun. I'm 41 now, and I, I've seen this movie 20 times. And now I look at it, I'm like, she's pretty, she's kinda pretty there.

• 1:15:03Sam Morril?

  Yeah.

• 1:15:03Mark Normand?

  I'm getting older. I'm like, she's like a peer.

• 1:15:05Speaker 02

Yeah, she was sexy there. And also the other one, even though that, didn't that Nurse Ratchet show bomb, like, on Netflix?

• 1:15:11Sam Morril?

  Yeah.

• 1:15:11Mark Normand?

  Oh.

• 1:15:12Sam Morril?

Yeah, no one wants to side with her.

• 1:15:14Speaker 02

  No.

• 1:15:14Mark Normand?

  We'd rather the pedophile.

• 1:15:15Speaker 02

Yeah. Well, she goes, I, what worries me, Billy, is what your mother will think. How, how like, Billy has that moment where he doesn't stutter.

• 1:15:23Mark Normand?

  Mmm.

• 1:15:23Speaker 02

Like, he's like, no, I'm not. Like, he, he's finally getting better.

• 1:15:26Mark Normand?

  Yeah.

• 1:15:27Speaker 02

And she fucking takes him right back down. It's just so good.

• 1:15:29Sam Morril?

Yeah, that was, that was a brutal fucking scene, man. So many great scenes, too. I mean, like, wh- when she won't let them watch the game, and he just starts calling the game, like, as a fuck you to her. It's such a, that's like a beautiful scene.

• 1:15:40Mark Normand?

  Powerful.

• 1:15:41Speaker 02

Yeah, cuz she fucks him, he's like, you like a rigged deck. Because they take the vote, and it's over, but then she counts all the other fucking meatheads on the

• 1:15:49Sam Morril?

  Yeah.

• 1:15:49Mark Normand?

  Oh, yeah.

• 1:15:51Sam Morril?

Yeah, so she won't let him watch the game, and Nicholson's like, fuck it, he just calls it. And he, I mean, he's so good in that movie, dude.

• 1:15:56Speaker 02

  Remember Scatman Crothers?

• 1:15:57Mark Normand?

  Yeah.

• 1:15:58Speaker 02

And they go, where's Turkle? He's jerking off. Ain't nobody jerking off, motherfucker.

• 1:16:05Mark Normand?

  I think Louis said that.

• 1:16:10Mark Normand?

Oh, yeah, Scatman was in The Shining, too, right?

• 1:16:13Speaker 02

  Yes, he was.

• 1:16:14Sam Morril?

Didn't he voice Hong Kong Fooey?

• 1:16:15Mark Normand?

No, really? Yeah, so fuck outta here.

• 1:16:18Sam Morril?

Hong Kong Fooey, from the Hong Kong Book of Kung Fu?

• 1:16:21Speaker 02

You might be right. Hong, number one super guy.

• 1:16:23Sam Morril?

  Yeah.

• 1:16:26Mark Normand?

  Boy, this podcast is dated.

• 1:16:29Speaker 02

It really is. A raging bull, a pooh-pooh's nest, ordinary people.

• 1:16:33Sam Morril?

Hey, these are classics. Hell, yeah.

• 1:16:35Mark Normand?

Whoa, good pull. Good pull. Damn.

• 1:16:40Sam Morril?

That was a fun cartoon, man.

• 1:16:41Mark Normand?

That was fun. See, nobody's a bitch about D E I hires back then.

• 1:16:45Speaker 02

Yeah. You, you understand. When he's trying to get the girl to fuck him, and, uh, like, you understand.

• 1:16:53Speaker 02

Yeah, The Shining, he was so great. He took an axe right in the fucking.

• 1:16:56Mark Normand?

  Oh, yeah.

• 1:16:58Speaker 03

  Chest.

• 1:16:58Speaker 02

Yeah, right in the chest. And the best part was the way when Nicholson, because it was supposed to be a croquet mallet. It was one of those ones where the movie is so much better than the book.

• 1:17:07Mark Normand?

  Oh, really?

• 1:17:07Speaker 02

Yeah, because it wasn't a hedge maze. They were hedge animals. And he had a croquet, a giant like mallet.

• 1:17:14Sam Morril?

The maze is only in the movie?

• 1:17:15Speaker 02

Yes, there was supposed to be hedge animals that came to life. But it was okay, but it was almost like in the movie it wouldn't have worked.

• 1:17:22Mark Normand?

  Too supernatural.

• 1:17:23Speaker 02

  Yeah, too weird.

• 1:17:24Sam Morril?

The maze is so memorable, though.

• 1:17:26Speaker 03

They did say that this was the scene between him and Danny, was the one that they did like 174 times, like the scene with these two specifically.

• 1:17:35Speaker 02

Was it this one or was it when he was laying there on his back when they were connecting?

• 1:17:40Speaker 03

  The little boy?

• 1:17:40Speaker 02

I thought it was when they were, you might be right, but I thought the scene they did so many times was when he was on his back, like staring off and connecting with Danny, who was letting him know there was trouble.

• 1:17:50Speaker 03

  That scene?

• 1:17:51Speaker 02

Yeah, that's the one I'm thinking of. But I might be, oh, they say starring scatman crawl, he didn't start it.

• 1:17:59Mark Normand?

  No, no.

• 1:18:00Speaker 02

You know who else was in that? The fucking trainer from Rocky.

• 1:18:03Sam Morril?

  Bert Young?

• 1:18:04Speaker 02

  No, no, no, no.

• 1:18:05Mark Normand?

  Burgess Barrett?

• 1:18:07Speaker 02

Burgess Barrett. Burgess Barrett. No, the black guy.

• 1:18:12Mark Normand?

  Oh, yeah.

• 1:18:13Speaker 02

He played Larry Dirk, I think, the guy who fucking rented the snow cats out.

• 1:18:19Mark Normand?

Oh, wow. Dirk, Dirk. I don't know this guy.

• 1:18:23Speaker 02

Yeah. So if I wonder why no one's watching my special, remind me of the information I offer up on podcast.

• 1:18:29Mark Normand?

Well, it's funny because we grew up with, I grew up with this movie. I grew up with Cuckoo's Nest and all these movies, just like implanted in my brain, Raging Bull. And then a clip from In Living Color came up yesterday on my feed. I think I sent it to you.

• 1:18:42Speaker 02

  Yeah.

• 1:18:42Mark Normand?

With Jim Carrey, where he's doing a Muslim guy selling an album, and he's like,

• 1:18:50Mark Normand?

he's a full brown face, all that, and all the songs are coming down, scrolling down like, "Could I wait a minute?", you know, whatever. And all these great puns, but it was so offensive. But I'm like, this is what I grew up with. So like, you can't get mad at us. Too much for the kind of comedy we do.

• 1:19:09Sam Morril?

What's his name? Dana Carvey in this movie, Opponent to Tunde Knox. It was like, me and my brother were obsessed with this movie as a kid. And then we rewatch it. There's like a scene where he's doing like an Indian guy.

• 1:19:20Sam Morril?

He's like, I love mama, like he's just talking like that. There's another scene where he's doing the Chinese guy.

• 1:19:24Mark Normand?

  Right.

• 1:19:25Sam Morril?

There's like all these offensive things in it, but like as a kid, I was like, this is fucking gold.

• 1:19:28Mark Normand?

  It's gold.

• 1:19:29Speaker 02

I don't like when they go back and like apologize for their old roles. It's like, you're never gonna win like that. You just gotta say, fuck you.

• 1:19:35Mark Normand?

  I know, I know. I'm real, sorry.

• 1:19:38Speaker 02

  No, no, go.

• 1:19:38Mark Normand?

Well, Larry David did a Holocaust joke on the SNL monologue and a bunch of people were like, Larry, you're a Jew. You shouldn't be making jokes like that. And he went, eh? And that was it. That's how you handle it.

• 1:19:48Speaker 02

  Yeah.

• 1:19:48Mark Normand?

You just kinda go, shut up, and you move on.

• 1:19:51Speaker 02

Yeah, you can't, you can't give in hoping that they see you as pure again, because you'll never fucking win. Tony Burton, his name was.

• 1:19:56Mark Normand?

There it is. Pull up that Jim Carrey thing if you can find it. It's all over.

• 1:20:00Sam Morril?

And the Dana Carvey thing in the cab.

• 1:20:02Mark Normand?

  Doing the rounds.

• 1:20:04Sam Morril?

  Is it?

• 1:20:05Mark Normand?

But I do think there's a, the internet has brought, as much as like political correctness and all that has changed things and, you know, the mainstream, you know, Fallon's not gonna have that on and whatnot, but.

• 1:20:15Sam Morril?

Holy shit, just from the picture, it looks rough. Let's see if you gotta play this.

• 1:20:18Mark Normand?

Internet has brought it all back up and people like it.

• 1:20:19Sam Morril?

Oh no, this is a different thing. No, it's Opportunity Knox cab or in the car. Damn, he did it twice.

• 1:20:26Mark Normand?

  Oh, he did another movie.

• 1:20:43Speaker 02

  Who is that?

• 1:20:44Mark Normand?

  Carvey.

• 1:20:44Speaker 02

  Oh.

• 1:20:45Sam Morril?

I would, there was another, I was thinking about that, but that's not, I haven't seen that movie.

• 1:20:48Mark Normand?

  It's not great.

• 1:20:48Speaker 02

  It looks great.

• 1:20:51Speaker 02

He's in character, he's immersed himself. I respect that.

• 1:20:53Mark Normand?

Is this the version, you know, when our parents would show us like, look at this racist, uh.

• 1:20:58Sam Morril?

No, it's the car one. It's the car one.

• 1:21:00Mark Normand?

  Asian, uh, propaganda.

• 1:21:02Sam Morril?

  Yeah.

• 1:21:03Mark Normand?

You know those comics, they'd be like, look at this black guy. And it was like a crazy with big lips and stuff. He'd show you a cartoon, like this was a normal, or, or Bugs Bunny would be like, oh, hello, with the big teeth. This is our version of that. You know, just showing like, oh yeah, Dana Carvey was dressed as an Indian.

• 1:21:18Sam Morril?

No, this is, this is it, I think.

• 1:21:21Sam Morril?

They just stole a car as a context and even this would get them in shit now.

• 1:21:27Speaker 08

Hello, greetings, my name is Tugla.

• 1:21:31Speaker 04

Am I talking to the jerk who stole my car? Listen scumbag.

• 1:21:35Speaker 08

He is really pissed. I do not appreciate your profanity. If you wish to continue this conversation, may I suggest a new attitude? One more positive.

• 1:21:45Mark Normand?

I like the next role, he went like full Indian face.

• 1:21:49Sam Morril?

I didn't take it far enough.

• 1:21:50Speaker 02

I didn't feel satisfied, no one bought it.

• 1:21:53Sam Morril?

I love Dana Carvey dude, it's actually a pretty decent movie, I like this movie.

• 1:21:57Speaker 02

  Opportunity knocks?

• 1:21:59Sam Morril?

It's, I bet it's got like, I bet it's, my guess on Rotten Tomatoes is like 9%, but, but I enjoyed it. I liked it, as a kid I watched it like 10 times probably.

• 1:22:08Speaker 02

It's funny how those things that made you laugh as a kid, like, you always are kinda loyal to them. Like, I'll, Smokey and the Bandit I'll go down with, like, it was okay as a movie, but Jackie Gleason.

• 1:22:18Sam Morril?

  I was close.

• 1:22:19Speaker 02

  Oh my god, 11%.

• 1:22:23Mark Normand?

  1990.

• 1:22:24Sam Morril?

I enjoyed it though, I think, I think he's fucking great.

• 1:22:26Speaker 02

Dana Carvey is, yeah, he's funny.

• 1:22:29Mark Normand?

Smokey and the Bandit had a Klan scene in it, didn't it, where they chase a bunch of black guys?

• 1:22:33Speaker 02

That was in Bustin' Loose. Did Smokey and the Bandit as well? I know Bustin' Loose did. Where Prior and them walk up and they're walking on a Klan rally. Um, I believe it was Bustin' Loose.

• 1:22:46Mark Normand?

  Okay.

• 1:22:46Speaker 02

But maybe Smokey and the Bandit did too, if it didn't it should've.

Porky's had that weird anti-Semitic ribbon going through it.

• 1:22:54Sam Morril?

• 1:23:22Sam Morril?

Good fun, kids trying to get laid movie.

• 1:23:25Mark Normand?
