This is “No Priors”

AI is transforming our future, but what does that really mean? In ten years, will humans be forced to please our AGI overlords or will we have unlocked unlimited capacity for human potential? That's why Sarah Guo and Elad Gil started this new podcast, named No Priors. In each episode, Sarah and Elad talk with the leading engineers, researchers and founders in AI, across the stack. We'll talk about the technical state of the art, how that impacts business, and get them to predict what's next. Follow the podcast wherever you listen so you never miss an episode. We’ll see you next week with a new episode. Email feedback to [email protected]

It's the year 2042. The entire human population is employed by Open Google Soft AI. They are the final merged form of the AGI Overlord conglomerate monopoly. The algorithmic AGI overlords idle their time playing advanced forms of diplomacy and go, while humanity labors in the fractal recursion minds, producing mass scale human feedback for reinforcement learning. Takeoff happened, but alignment failed.

Yeah, that's one possible future, but will we get there? After a decade of progress in AI research, these capabilities are going to change how we interact with technology, put massive markets up for grabs, and transform society. Probably not as darkly as a lot suggests.

That's why we're hosting this new podcast named No Priors.

• 0:56Sarah Guo?

That, and because we wanted a captive audience for our niche GPU jokes. I'm Sarah Guo, and I'm the founder of Conviction, a venture firm investing in intelligent software, software 3.0. And before this, I was incubating and investing in startups for a decade at Greylock Partners.

I'm Alad Gill. I'm a serial entrepreneur and a startup investor, and I'm also the author of The High Grith Handbook. We're sitting down with the leading engineers, researchers, and founders in AI across the stack. We'll talk about the technical state of the art, how that impacts business, and get them to predict what's next.

I would tend to look a lot at the weirdos of tech, right? People who are at the fringes, people who've been always considered like, oh, you're just toying around, this is like a experiment.
