Somebody asked me how I define myself. And I didn't know what to say. Because how can someone be defined when we're always evolving? I've been so many things. I'll be so many others.

• 0:17Speaker 00

Because identity is not a performance. It's an exploration. Never the same, but always myself. That's the paradox. Paradox intense and the new sweet chemistry by Prada.

Are we recording? Girl, quit playing.

• 1:05Brooke Averick?

Are we? Yeah, I like that.

• 1:06Connor Wood?

  Are we recording?

• 1:08Brooke Averick?

  Girl, quit playing. We're co-hosts.

• 1:11Connor Wood?

  Co-hosts.

• 1:12Brooke Averick?

What are you saying? Very pretty.

• 1:15Connor Wood?

  Wow.

• 1:37Connor Wood?

  Okay.

• 1:38Brooke Averick?

  Yeah.

• 1:38Connor Wood?

  We're in the stew.

• 1:39Brooke Averick?

  So.

• 1:41Connor Wood?

  That brings us.

• 1:42Brooke Averick?

That should, that should loop us up. That should loop us up nice and.

• 1:45Connor Wood?

That should make us feel really great.

• 1:46Brooke Averick?

  Nice and smooth.

• 1:47Connor Wood?

Welcome back to Brooke and Connor Make a Podcast. You might notice, if you're watching visually, uh, yeah, we're sitting next to each other.

• 1:55Brooke Averick?

In NYC. Concrete jungles where dreams are made of.

• 1:59Connor Wood?

  Yeah.

• 1:59Brooke Averick?

There's nothing you can't do. I've had 18 songs stuck in my head at the same time already today.

• 2:04Connor Wood?

  You're going kind of.

• 2:05Brooke Averick?

I mean, ever since I got here, nonstop. What Would You Do for a Klondike Bar? My Humps. Like.

• 2:10Connor Wood?

You're going kind of a Napster mode.

• 2:12Brooke Averick?

  Yeah.

• 2:12Connor Wood?

What are those things at the bars that people, you put money into?

• 2:16Brooke Averick?

  A jukebox?

• 2:17Connor Wood?

Not a jukebox. The new ones with like touchscreen.

• 2:21Brooke Averick?

A new, a modern day jukebox.

• 2:25Brooke Averick?

  Touchscreen Duke.

• 2:25Connor Wood?

  Touch tunes.

• 2:26Brooke Averick?

  Touch tunes.

• 2:27Connor Wood?

  You're going touch tunes.

• 2:27Brooke Averick?

  Yeah.

• 2:29Connor Wood?

  You're just playing whatever.

• 2:29Brooke Averick?

  Yeah, I'm on shuffle.

• 2:31Connor Wood?

Whatever God puts in, you're not.

• 2:32Brooke Averick?

  My brain is on shuffle.

• 2:34Connor Wood?

Oh, it's so, so frankly, and to be fair and transparent and for the sake of transparency and for transparency's sake as well, I have.

• 2:42Brooke Averick?

  We're doing that again, huh?

• 2:43Connor Wood?

Yes, I've taken three weeks off. I haven't done a podcast in three weeks.

• 2:47Brooke Averick?

I have done not a podcast.

• 2:48Connor Wood?

I've done not a podcast in three weeks.

• 2:51Brooke Averick?

  Yeah, I haven't seen you.

• 2:53Connor Wood?

I haven't seen you. Um, I've been on the road. You've been holding down the fortress.

• 3:00Connor Wood?

And I'm, so I'm not feeling like, I am excited. I just, I told you when you came in.

• 3:05Brooke Averick?

  Yeah.

• 3:05Connor Wood?

So this does look like Martha Stewart's apartment, but it is my apartment.

• 3:09Brooke Averick?

  It's really cute.

• 3:10Connor Wood?

And we did a little studio setup today.

• 3:12Brooke Averick?

  Yeah, I love it.

• 3:13Connor Wood?

This is not permanent, but it's nice. It's bright. We've got some natural light. I'm killing the rhymes today. Like you're touch tunes and I'm Eminem.

• 3:23Brooke Averick?

And yeah, we could do some more originals, some original tunes similar to, I, what was the, what did we open with? It was Justin Bieber. Are we, are we a podcast? Yeah, we could do more of that as we go, if we feel compelled.

• 3:36Connor Wood?

  We were courting.

• 3:37Brooke Averick?

  But.

• 3:38Connor Wood?

  Girl, quit playing.

• 3:39Brooke Averick?

  We're co.

• 3:39Connor Wood?

We're co-hosts. What are you saying?

• 3:42Brooke Averick?

  Yeah, I like that.

• 3:43Connor Wood?

  Gas. We're goaded, locate.

• 3:46Brooke Averick?

I once wrote a song to the tune of Justin Bieber's Love Yourself about a relationship that my roommate had struck up. She one day went on Tinder and set like as a joke. And I don't know why we were like, this is so funny. Set her age to like 50 plus and was like talking to like old men, like 60s, 70s, like as a joke. And then it like slowly wasn't like became to the point where it was like, this is no longer funny.

• 4:22Connor Wood?

  Oh, you're seeing him.

• 4:23Brooke Averick?

At all. This is your boyfriend. The young man's name was Gene.

• 4:29Brooke Averick?

And I was like, okay, so what's happening with you and Jean is like no longer funny. And I did end up writing a really incredible piece about

• 4:36Connor Wood?

Why is this my first time hearing about that?

• 4:38Brooke Averick?

Her and Jean, of all things that Jean had said to her, to the tune of Love Yourself. And maybe I'll share it one day. It was an awesome song. And that is the moment that I was like, I think I'm a creative.

• 4:53Connor Wood?

  Wow.

• 4:53Brooke Averick?

  Yeah.

• 4:54Connor Wood?

God works in such mysterious ways. Sometimes involves, maybe sometimes God uses Jean as his vessel.

• 4:59Brooke Averick?

Yeah. Oh, she almost did meet up with Jean.

• 5:03Connor Wood?

Oh, it was just a digital experience?

• 5:05Brooke Averick?

No, no, she did. Like, I mean, like, she almost did as in like she did meet up with Jean.

• 5:11Connor Wood?

  Was Jean, Jean be fucking?

• 5:14Brooke Averick?

  She, no, it was more

• 5:15Connor Wood?

Jean be nimble, Jean be quick?

• 5:16Brooke Averick?

It was just like a coffee day on the BU, in the BU Starbucks, where I was sitting on the other end of the cafe.

• 5:23Connor Wood?

  Yeah.

• 5:23Brooke Averick?

Jean did have a pager, a pager attached to his, his Jean piece.

• 5:31Connor Wood?

Jean and his jeans with his pager.

• 5:33Brooke Averick?

  Yeah.

• 5:34Connor Wood?

We're like, we're, we're proper, this is proper crack right now. If you're from Ireland.

• 5:40Brooke Averick?

  The Drake?

• 5:40Connor Wood?

  Great.

• 5:40Brooke Averick?

I thought it was great, but it might be.

• 5:42Connor Wood?

  Crap.

• 5:43Brooke Averick?

Well, I just know from Nile, from One Direction, always

• 5:45Connor Wood?

  No, it's great.

• 5:46Brooke Averick?

  Yeah.

• 5:47Connor Wood?

What I didn't like, so when I was in Ireland, right above my toilet, because I stayed at a moxie hotel, which like

• 5:53Brooke Averick?

I freaking love the moxie. Is it the same moxie that's here?

• 5:58Connor Wood?

Yeah, it's, it's the chain, the moxie hotels. For some reason, they sexualize everything. So like, I go to the elevator and I'm about to get on the elevator, the elevator, and they're like, you want to take a ride? And I'm like, eh, like, I'll take the stairs.

• 6:12Brooke Averick?

  My moxie isn't like that.

• 6:13Connor Wood?

Oh, you want to take a ride, Papa? I'm like, I'll take the stairs, thanks. I take the stairs up to my floor, third floor. They go, congrats, you made it to third base. I was like, ew.

• 6:22Brooke Averick?

That's odd. And not, hey, can I just say, not all moxies.

• 6:25Connor Wood?

Listen. Okay, but it's always a moxie. It's not all moxies, but it is always a moxie.

• 6:31Brooke Averick?

  Red Cackle Square situation.

• 6:32Connor Wood?

Yeah, and I get to my room. I'm like, thank God that's over. Finally, I'm in my safe space. Go to the bathroom. Go to the bathroom. Right above my toilet, written in graffiti. What's the Crake? Now, I didn't know it was Crake. I thought it was Crack. And I go, are they talking about my ass?

• 6:50Brooke Averick?

  Oh.

• 6:51Connor Wood?

  Right here above the toilet?

• 6:53Brooke Averick?

  No.

• 6:53Connor Wood?

Can we leave the jokes at the door, please? When I go into the sacred bathroom?

• 6:58Brooke Averick?

I'm not saying this trip, but we should still go.

• 7:01Connor Wood?

I'm down to go. You can hang. Like, that's the thing is that the Moxies are open to the public. So much so that they opened one near my college. And we stayed there when I went back at some point. And I was like, why are there so many, like, college-age kids that clearly go to this school in this hotel? They were meeting women at the hotel. And I said, and I asked. I made sure because I was like, this seems something's hap- there's an operation.

• 7:25Brooke Averick?

What do you mean they were meeting women?

• 7:27Connor Wood?

They were, um, meeting up with sex workers.

• 7:35Brooke Averick?

What? I don't understand the relationship and the view that you have of the moxie. Because it's not, that's not my, again, that's not my moxie.

• 7:43Connor Wood?

The thing is, now that I've said this, a re-moxie? Like, you are going to notice some things that are a little bit, uh, moxie of the night.

• 7:50Brooke Averick?

You're like, you're acting like the moxie is a brothel.

• 7:53Connor Wood?

Moxie after dark. Yeah, that's, I promise you.

• 7:56Brooke Averick?

  Okay, whatever.

• 7:57Connor Wood?

Go back and, and I'll, I'll go back.

• 7:59Brooke Averick?

Let's go get a drink at the moxie tonight.

• 8:01Connor Wood?

I'll have a drink at the moxie with you.

• 8:02Brooke Averick?

  Okay.

• 8:03Connor Wood?

Um, and maybe we'll, maybe we'll notice some things.

• 8:07Brooke Averick?

It's like, truly, it's like the most wholesome, special place. I would not, you know me, I'm not staying at like a sex palace.

• 8:17Connor Wood?

  You're pure of heart.

• 8:18Brooke Averick?

Yeah, I really am pure of heart.

• 8:23Connor Wood?

I'm so excited you're in the city.

• 8:24Brooke Averick?

I really am in the city.

• 8:26Connor Wood?

You're glowing. You're loving this shit.

• 8:28Brooke Averick?

I do. It's like pissing me off.

• 8:30Connor Wood?

  Yeah.

• 8:31Brooke Averick?

Yeah, and I really like, are you open about like what area you live in?

• 8:37Connor Wood?

Are you gonna say, are you able to say like that I?

• 8:43Connor Wood?

Are you, what are you gonna say? Just say what you're gonna say and then.

• 8:46Brooke Averick?

I was gonna say I really like the West Village.

• 8:48Connor Wood?

Yeah, and then we don't have to say like.

• 8:50Brooke Averick?

Yeah, that's all I'm gonna say.

• 8:51Connor Wood?

  Oh, yeah.

• 8:51Brooke Averick?

Oh, yeah, I really like the West Village.

• 8:54Connor Wood?

Oh, yeah, I love the West Village.

• 8:56Brooke Averick?

And the East Village as well.

• 8:57Connor Wood?

And I love the East Village.

• 8:57Brooke Averick?

And Connor, walking here this morning from the East Village

• 9:03Connor Wood?

  Yeah.

• 9:03Brooke Averick?

to the West Village, I walked past the Strand, which is my favorite place.

• 9:08Connor Wood?

  I know.

• 9:08Brooke Averick?

In NYC, have you been yet?

• 9:11Connor Wood?

Yeah, I sent you a picture of it.

• 9:12Brooke Averick?

  No, you did not.

• 9:14Connor Wood?

Huh, what did I send you a picture of?

• 9:18Connor Wood?

  Oh, Jonathan Larson Project.

• 9:19Brooke Averick?

Yes, yes, yes, that's different than the Strand.

• 9:22Connor Wood?

  Yeah.

• 9:23Brooke Averick?

So have you been to the Strand?

• 9:25Connor Wood?

  No, I haven't been.

• 9:25Brooke Averick?

Okay, you walked past the Jonathan Larson.

• 9:27Connor Wood?

Well, when I get, you know, my favorite thing in the world is coffee table books.

• 9:30Brooke Averick?

  Yeah.

• 9:31Connor Wood?

When I get my, a coffee table, which I might go later today to Brooklyn, I am going to start going to more bookstores. You know, that's what I collect when I'm on the road. I go, I find a bookstore every time I'm somewhere and I get a book from everywhere I go.

• 9:44Brooke Averick?

  The fact that you live.

• 9:45Connor Wood?

I thought you were about to say the buck.

• 9:47Brooke Averick?

My, my words aren't coming out. The fact that you live 15 minutes from Strand is like, holy shit.

• 9:53Connor Wood?

  Jealous?

• 9:54Brooke Averick?

Yeah, and I popped in on the way here and I did buy something.

• 9:58Connor Wood?

  What'd you get?

• 9:59Brooke Averick?

Well, I don't have any room in my suitcase, so I got a book that's 100 pages.

• 10:03Connor Wood?

  Cool.

• 10:04Brooke Averick?

It's like a little piece of paper.

• 10:05Connor Wood?

  That's beautiful.

• 10:06Brooke Averick?

  Yeah.

• 10:08Connor Wood?

Just like reminding me, our ebook, I read, I read, I read Phoebe.

• 10:12Brooke Averick?

  No, you didn't.

• 10:13Connor Wood?

  Yeah, I did.

• 10:13Brooke Averick?

  The whole thing?

• 10:14Connor Wood?

  Yeah.

• 10:14Brooke Averick?

  No.

• 10:14Connor Wood?

It was a breeze, by the way. You guys.

• 10:18Brooke Averick?

It's not, it's not, you only, you had 120 pages?

• 10:20Connor Wood?

  158, I think.

• 10:22Brooke Averick?

  Oh.

• 10:23Connor Wood?

I could be wrong. For some reason, that's a specific number that I, oh, wait, maybe I got to the first half. I read 58 pages and maybe it is 120.

• 10:31Brooke Averick?

  Okay.

• 10:31Connor Wood?

Cause maybe that was like my halfway.

• 10:32Brooke Averick?

Yeah. Did you end when it was like, who?

• 10:36Connor Wood?

  Yeah.

• 10:37Brooke Averick?

  Okay.

• 10:39Connor Wood?

  You guys.

• 10:40Brooke Averick?

  Don't say anything.

• 10:40Connor Wood?

We're sitting here with a New York.

• 10:42Brooke Averick?

  No.

• 10:42Connor Wood?

  Best seller.

• 10:43Brooke Averick?

  No.

• 10:43Connor Wood?

It is so good. It is so good.

• 10:47Brooke Averick?

  No.

• 10:47Connor Wood?

  And I'm not a reader. I'm not a reader.

• 10:49Brooke Averick?

No, you're just saying that because you're my buddy.

• 10:51Connor Wood?

  No, I'm not.

• 10:52Brooke Averick?

  Connor, please.

• 10:53Connor Wood?

No, I would have, I would have texted you, but like, oh, I read it like, proud of you. I was like, Brooke, this is good. This is really good. You guys, I have chills even talking about it. It is, I mean, it goes without saying, it is so good. You guys have no idea what's in store. Like this is, it's real. It's, it's, it's so good. Like, I don't know. It's like, it was weird reading it and being like, oh my God, it's real.

• 11:16Brooke Averick?

  Yeah.

• 11:17Connor Wood?

I, I was reading, I was smiling. I was like, this is so funny.

• 11:20Brooke Averick?

  Oh, Connor.

• 11:20Connor Wood?

And I need to ask you specific questions about it.

• 11:23Brooke Averick?

Do you, here's my question for you. Do you know where it's going?

• 11:27Connor Wood?

  I don't know.

• 11:27Brooke Averick?

  Ah, really?

• 11:29Connor Wood?

  I don't know. I don't know. And I don't want to guess and be, I like, I don't want to speculate.

• 11:33Brooke Averick?

  Okay.

• 11:33Connor Wood?

But I do want to, I do want to read it like ASAP because I'm going to forget stuff.

• 11:37Brooke Averick?

There's like, I have written more than a hundred more pages than from where you.

• 11:40Connor Wood?

  Wow. Oh, I'm excited.

• 11:42Brooke Averick?

But I'm not done yet, but I need to be done in August. So.

• 11:46Connor Wood?

  Two months.

• 11:47Brooke Averick?

Two months. I can do it.

• 11:48Connor Wood?

  You can do it.

• 11:49Brooke Averick?

Yeah. And then we'll have that, we should have like early copies.

• 11:53Connor Wood?

  Oh.

• 11:54Brooke Averick?

  To hold in our hands.

• 11:55Connor Wood?

  So cool.

• 11:55Brooke Averick?

And maybe like September or so.

• 11:57Connor Wood?

Wow. For my birthday. That's what you should get me.

• 11:59Brooke Averick?

Yeah. Oh my God. I would love that.

• 12:00Connor Wood?

  Early copy.

• 12:01Brooke Averick?

  Crying.

• 12:02Connor Wood?

  Ooh, that's so exciting.

• 12:03Brooke Averick?

I went to, um, the Penguin offices for the first time, office, I guess, uh, yesterday, and I had like, that was like my like, holy shit moment. And I can't really cry because of my antidepressants, but I did start, I really almost started to tear up when I walked into.

• 12:18Connor Wood?

That's a powerful emotion if it's overpowering SSRIs.

• 12:21Brooke Averick?

It was completely over, overtaking me.

• 12:23Connor Wood?

You said SSR. I take a backseat. I'm going to cry for a second.

• 12:25Brooke Averick?

  Yeah.

• 12:26Connor Wood?

Good for, I mean, that was so cool to see you there physically in person. I'm like. Yeah, she's, she's actually, I think you did that.

• 12:34Brooke Averick?

  That girl did that.

• 12:35Connor Wood?

Yeah. So I did a thing.

• 12:38Brooke Averick?

  Yeah.

• 12:38Connor Wood?

And it was at, it was at Penguin. I should not have had that Celsius. I'm like moving around like,

• 12:44Brooke Averick?

I also, I was gonna tell you, I have always felt like I have most of the opportunities presented in the DSM five, I think, which is a book that lists all of the mental illnesses. I've had like quite a few of those in my dossier, but I've always been like, I don't have ADD or ADHD.

• 13:04Connor Wood?

  Oh God, what?

• 13:05Brooke Averick?

And then I saw something that was like, if caffeine or Adderall makes you tired.

• 13:10Connor Wood?

  I told you this.

• 13:11Brooke Averick?

  Oh, did you?

• 13:11Connor Wood?

Yeah, because someone, someone DM'd me and was like, hey, if you're having adverse effects, like, that's just like your ADHD.

• 13:18Brooke Averick?

Cause I tried Adderall again, and I mean, both times I'm unconscious for like five hours. And coffee, I'm like sipping this now and I'm like,

• 13:28Connor Wood?

  I'm getting, I'm getting KO'd. No.

• 13:31Brooke Averick?

So I'm starting, no wonder. And obviously like I do get, I can't like necessarily complete tasks all the time, but it's not debilitating. So I don't know what's going on there. Could just be like, and I adverse, I adverse reactively to anything.

• 13:46Connor Wood?

I just like, anything, something happens and I'm, I'm reacting adversely. Um, yeah, no, I've, I get DMs all the time. I'm like, I'm on my second coffee. Nothing's waking me up.

• 13:55Brooke Averick?

  Yeah.

• 13:56Connor Wood?

When that used to happen, it would just mean I had mono.

• 13:58Brooke Averick?

But I could never not have my morning cup of coffee. Like when I don't have it, it's like, there's no functioning.

• 14:03Connor Wood?

Ah, I have a coffee shop now and yeah, the guy knows me.

• 14:07Brooke Averick?

  Wow.

• 14:08Connor Wood?

And he's not like overstepping the like, oh, we're buddies thing where it's like, let's hang out. It's like, oh, Connor's here.

• 14:14Brooke Averick?

  Professional relationship.

• 14:16Connor Wood?

Yes. And do we dab each other up? Yeah.

• 14:19Brooke Averick?

  A hundred percent.

• 14:20Connor Wood?

It's really, it's really a special thing. Does he know my order? No, but like, that's great because what if I change it one day?

• 14:25Brooke Averick?

  Yeah.

• 14:26Connor Wood?

And then he's gonna be like, oh, I thought we, I thought we were doing something.

• 14:30Brooke Averick?

  He's a good guy.

• 14:31Connor Wood?

  Yeah, he's great.

• 14:32Brooke Averick?

How was Hawaii, by the way?

• 14:34Connor Wood?

  No, hang on.

• 14:34Brooke Averick?

And like all the time you've been away?

• 14:36Connor Wood?

Can I look up my notes? Cause I, I started out, I started out, whoa, sorry.

• 14:42Brooke Averick?

  Started, you got me going.

• 14:44Connor Wood?

I started, I started a new note for our podcast. And then at some point I, oh God, at some point I just stopped writing.

• 14:55Connor Wood?

And these things that I wrote down at first, like they don't matter at all now. And like, I don't know why I thought they would three weeks later, like the things that we talk about on a weekly basis. Truly are so insubstantial. When you look back at them, it's like.

• 15:09Brooke Averick?

You don't want to talk about what you've been up to?

• 15:10Connor Wood?

No. Well, I mean, now I'll talk about.

• 15:15Connor Wood?

  I wrote down.

• 15:16Brooke Averick?

  We haven't seen you.

• 15:17Connor Wood?

I know. I wrote down Vegas, but I'm like, what was I going to talk about in Vegas? I have no idea.

• 15:20Brooke Averick?

  When were you in Vegas?

• 15:21Connor Wood?

I was in Vegas for Jake's shows after. So I was in LA. We did the San Diego shows. We did the Phoenix shows. And then we did Vegas shows.

• 15:33Connor Wood?

I mean, they were great. Like it was super fun. And then I just, I went to the AMAs and that was great. It was really cool.

• 15:38Brooke Averick?

  You went to the AMAs?

• 15:40Connor Wood?

Yeah. Hang on. So I, I.

• 15:43Brooke Averick?

I saw you were with Dylan.

• 15:45Connor Wood?

Yes. I randomly get, I get a text and it's like, hey, you're in Vegas already. Do you, do you want to go to the AMAs? And I was like.

• 15:52Brooke Averick?

We went to the AMAs, right?

• 15:54Connor Wood?

  We did go to the.

• 15:55Brooke Averick?

I get confused in the AMAs.

• 15:56Connor Wood?

  Years, two years ago.

• 15:57Brooke Averick?

Yeah, yeah, yeah. I was so sick.

• 16:00Connor Wood?

  Yeah.

• 16:00Brooke Averick?

  Yeah.

• 16:01Connor Wood?

  Oh, yeah.

• 16:02Brooke Averick?

I was blowing my nose like in times that weren't appropriate. I felt horrible.

• 16:06Connor Wood?

While like, like, and we were on the on screen, on camera crowd where they like pan through and were clapping and Brooke. No, you had your nasal spray.

• 16:13Brooke Averick?

Oh, I was hitting my nasal spray.

• 16:15Connor Wood?

And it was like, and the camera would be passing and Brooke would be like, and then it would pass by and like, oof, that's a tough.

• 16:20Brooke Averick?

It was at the point, you know, when, cause you're not supposed to do Afrin because you get like really addicted to it. But it was at the point where like, if I didn't do it, I would.

• 16:28Connor Wood?

  I get it.

• 16:29Brooke Averick?

  I couldn't get any air.

• 16:32Connor Wood?

So yeah, I get a text. He's like, you want to go? And I was like, sure. And I was going by myself. I missed the red carpet because I, I, I went to see Kenny Chesney at the Sphere, which was the coolest thing ever. Night before Jake had the chain smokers on his show the night before, and then they invited us.

• 16:50Connor Wood?

To hang out with him after and that was really fun. So it was Chain Smokers. The next night I went to Kenny Chesney at the Sphere and then we get invited to Dom Dalla, which is like a DJ. And so it's just like boom, boom, boom. And then I'm like, okay, finally I'm going to sleep in like these are such late nights and I'm not good at late nights. I can hang, but I'm not good at late nights. No, I'm not like these people here in New York and Vegas like they're like, it doesn't matter that it's four in the morning. I'm like, it does. Four is too sharp for me. That's like, it's like Thursday or like the color orange. Like it's just like two, it's not like, you see purple? I can see purple. Yeah. Well, I'm like, I see, I see four, I see past three and I'm like, oh, like I need to go home. This is because this is

• 17:31Connor Wood?

tomorrow now in a big way. And so I had done that two nights in a row and I was like, I need to go home, whatever. Then I get invited to the AMAs. I'm like, I'll have an early night.

• 17:42Connor Wood?

See, we went to dinner and Dylan and Megan and hanging out and then I ended up like going to the lobby of this hotel and I'm going to Uber home and then I run into Renee and we hang out and obviously just like drank and I, this always happens to me on my third night. If I go out three nights in a row, I am so tired by the third night. I'm waiting for something to trigger me to start crying. If I'm having a couple of drinks, someone asked me about Max because he was my screensaver. Immediately tears, immediately tears.

• 18:16Brooke Averick?

Was it just like a fan?

• 18:17Connor Wood?

No, it was like Renee, I think. And I'm just crying in front of Renee. Like, I'm just like,

• 18:21Brooke Averick?

  Yeah.

• 18:22Connor Wood?

Tears, tears, tears. And then obviously I'm like, I'm gonna go home. I'm crying about my dog. I'm gonna go home. I've told you that before. Like someone asked me about Max. Like,

• 18:30Brooke Averick?

Yeah, yeah. No, I get it.

• 18:34Speaker 00

Somebody asked me how I define myself and I didn't know what to say because how can someone be defined when we're always evolving? I've been so many things. I'll be so many others.

• 18:50Speaker 00

Because identity is not a performance. It's an exploration. Never the same, but always myself. That's the paradox. Paradox Intense and the new Sweet Chemistry by Prada.

• 19:32Connor Wood?

So I went home. Obviously, the next day, I need to fly on a direct flight from Vegas to Vancouver.

• 19:36Brooke Averick?

  That's a long one, no?

• 19:38Connor Wood?

It is. It is, and it is across the board. It's like customs, immigration. I'm just like, this is really bad. Vancouver is my favorite city on planet Earth. Do you remember a long time ago when I was like...

• 19:50Brooke Averick?

  Never been.

• 19:51Connor Wood?

When I was like, I don't know, like, every city that I've lived in, I like certain things about. Like, I haven't found like the city that's like all encompass... I think it might be Vancouver.

• 20:02Brooke Averick?

But like, you have no idea how cold that gets in the winter.

• 20:05Connor Wood?

Oh, maybe I'll just move there for two months.

• 20:07Brooke Averick?

You could get a summer cabin.

• 20:10Connor Wood?

  Oh, my God.

• 20:10Brooke Averick?

Is it like a cabin? I don't know even like what...

• 20:12Connor Wood?

No, it's like east... It's like Seattle vibes.

• 20:16Brooke Averick?

  I've never been to Seattle.

• 20:17Connor Wood?

I'm trying, I don't know how to explain it.

• 20:19Brooke Averick?

I guess it is the West Coast.

• 20:20Connor Wood?

It's the most beautiful place, but then it's also a city.

• 20:23Brooke Averick?

  Yeah, I'd love to go.

• 20:25Connor Wood?

  So...

• 20:26Brooke Averick?

I loved, I've been to like Montreal, which I also love, but that's like the complete other side of the world.

• 20:31Connor Wood?

  Yeah.

• 20:32Brooke Averick?

  Canada's huge.

• 20:33Connor Wood?

  Canada's big.

• 20:34Brooke Averick?

Canada is, it's just like a mirror of the US almost in shape and size.

• 20:39Connor Wood?

Yeah, and then they're randomly French. It's like, okay.

• 20:42Brooke Averick?

  Yeah.

• 20:43Connor Wood?

  Um, I...

• 20:45Brooke Averick?

Are they French in places other than Montreal? Yeah, Ottawa.

• 20:48Connor Wood?

  Yeah.

• 20:49Brooke Averick?

  Are they French in Vancouver?

• 20:51Connor Wood?

Vancouver, I don't know. Does that's, I don't know. Um, now, I get a DM from a seaplane company, and I'm scared of flying. But Jake's manager Louise was like, "I really want to go. We should go." And you know the seaplans, they fly, they take off on the water.

• 21:10Brooke Averick?

Yeah, I'm not comfortable with that.

• 21:10Connor Wood?

And they land on the water.

• 21:11Brooke Averick?

  Not comfortable with it.

• 21:12Connor Wood?

  I go...

• 21:15Connor Wood?

You know what? Like, I'm put on this earth to live, you know? I'm not, I'm not gonna not go on this. This is a once in a lifetime thing. I'm gonna go. And Louise really wants to go. So that was like a catalyst for me to be like, who am I to like? We had time before the show.

• 21:29Brooke Averick?

See, I'm like, I'm put on this earth to live. Like, I'm not gonna do things where I could die.

• 21:33Connor Wood?

  Yeah.

• 21:33Brooke Averick?

  But you could always die.

• 21:35Connor Wood?

  You could always die.

• 21:36Brooke Averick?

  Yeah.

• 21:37Connor Wood?

So I'd say putting yourself in a situation where you're on a small aircraft, that's like really, like low key, like kinda ashy for it.

• 21:47Connor Wood?

Like, you're kinda like being like, okay, come get me then, God. Like, so I have figured out my fear of flying. And I think it's all attached to the fact that I'm a storyteller at heart.

• 22:01Connor Wood?

I, you know, I, I, I go, okay, I'm gonna do this. I go, this is so the end of my life vibes.

• 22:07Brooke Averick?

  So you're creating narratives?

• 22:08Connor Wood?

The fact that like, I've agreed to do this now. And now I'm taking Jake's manager. And like, this is, and then we go and show up and like, I'm looking around at the other eight people on. There's some French people, there's, the pilot goes, you, points to me. When we go down on the dock, we're about to board the plane. I want you to sit co-captain. It's only one pilot. I go, this is so, this is so obituary coded, you know?

• 22:34Brooke Averick?

Oh, my God. Once you start writing the obituary.

• 22:37Connor Wood?

Well, no, I'm like, this would, we would, all of our pictures would so mesh together for an obitch. And I was like, okay, hang on. This is all like too perfect. And then we get on, he starts the motor. He goes, go ahead and shut that window for me. I'm shutting the window and I'm just like, he, he, he does the safety thing. Shows me how to put on the seatbelt. He's turned around everybody and it was clear that like, oh, there's an influencer on board. So we're gonna, we're gonna do a little action. He goes, hey, guys, we're gonna do something special today that we don't usually do.

• 23:07Connor Wood?

We're gonna go up to those peaks of those mountains over there. And I look, we're no, the usual tour is on the water. He's gonna take us up into the mountains that are on land and the peaks were the highest point. It's called the lion's ears. I go, oh my God, we're gonna crash. We're gonna crash, we're going down. And like, I literally start shaking, like I get like weak stomach. I go, that is 100%. You go up to the mountains and that's where you crash in the mountains. Like if I, I'm so delusional that I think if a plane crashed into water, it would go torpedo mode and we'd just have fun, you know, like it would go down and we'd pop back up. We go down and then we'd start floating. But like a mountain, like what's gonna, there's no chance of survival.

• 23:50Connor Wood?

We go up, I filmed this whole experience. We go up, he's like, here we go. We are like, it is going like boom, boom, like we're falling, like my stomach's in my mouth and then it's in my, down in my cheeks. And I'm like, oh, we're gonna crash. It was the scariest thing ever. And then obviously it was completely fun and it was an amazing experience. But I was just like, wow, I can't believe like I'm finally gonna die.

• 24:14Brooke Averick?

  Finally.

• 24:17Connor Wood?

  Well, I mean, I, you know, I'm.

• 24:18Brooke Averick?

I think you would just unlock like a new intrusive habit for me, which is just like writing my own obituary in different circumstances.

• 24:25Connor Wood?

We would die together, you know, that's so us.

• 24:27Brooke Averick?

Well, that's how I, I reverse do that on planes. And it's like, I look at somebody who looks like a really good person. And I'm like, this person is not going to die today because it's not their time. And so because I'm with them, I will also not die today.

• 24:39Connor Wood?

That's a good way to look at it. Maybe I need to start thinking like reverse engineering my thoughts. Cause I'm like, oh, this person's so good. It would totally be like.

• 24:47Brooke Averick?

God is, God is not ready to claim them yet.

• 24:50Connor Wood?

Salt of the earth, like the good do die young.

• 24:53Brooke Averick?

Yeah. Well, no, not this person though, because they still have more to do.

• 24:57Connor Wood?

They have more work to do on earth, like, yeah, yeah. I don't know, but I was just like, oh, I'm like, this is, my time is up. Like the clock is ticking.

• 25:04Brooke Averick?

  Yeah.

• 25:05Connor Wood?

  Like that Justin Timberlake movie.

• 25:07Brooke Averick?

  One minute?

• 25:09Connor Wood?

No, In Time. It's a fabulous movie. I really would love everyone to see. He's really obsessed with units of measurement. Yeah. And.

• 25:18Brooke Averick?

Why do you write like you're running out of time?

• 25:23Brooke Averick?

Come back to bed, that would be enough.

• 25:27Brooke Averick?

  Name that show.

• 25:29Connor Wood?

  Uh, Glee.

• 25:30Brooke Averick?

  No.

• 25:31Connor Wood?

Okay, how many shows have songs?

• 25:33Brooke Averick?

  It's a Broadway show.

• 25:34Connor Wood?

  Oh, damn.

• 25:35Brooke Averick?

You'll be back before you know I'm gone. Yeah.

• 25:39Connor Wood?

  It is?

• 25:39Brooke Averick?

  Yeah.

• 25:40Connor Wood?

  I really wanted to see-

• 25:41Brooke Averick?

  Happy Hamilton.

• 25:44Connor Wood?

Yeah, and with you as well, and your family.

• 25:46Brooke Averick?

  Happy freaking Hamilton, everybody.

• 25:48Connor Wood?

  Um, I-

• 25:49Brooke Averick?

  Ten years.

• 25:50Connor Wood?

I wanted to go see Oh Mary with you, because it wanted a bunch of Tony.

• 25:52Brooke Averick?

I would die to see Oh Mary.

• 25:54Connor Wood?

  There's no time.

• 25:54Brooke Averick?

  No, there's no time.

• 25:55Connor Wood?

  Speaking of Justin, this is-

• 25:57Brooke Averick?

  Yeah, that's sad.

• 26:00Connor Wood?

I had a scary thing happen in Vancouver after the plane.

• 26:03Brooke Averick?

  What happened in Vancouver?

• 26:04Connor Wood?

  So-

• 26:04Brooke Averick?

What happened in Switzerland? Name that show.

• 26:08Connor Wood?

Oh my god, it has to be Hamilton.

• 26:10Brooke Averick?

  No, Nathan for you.

• 26:12Connor Wood?

  Happy Hamilton.

• 26:13Brooke Averick?

Sorry, I'm like filling up with like random pieces of quotes and lyrics. Also, right now going through my head, come south of the border with me. Ed Sheeran and Camila Cabello.

• 26:24Connor Wood?

  Yeah, it's a, it's a great tune.

• 26:25Brooke Averick?

  Yeah.

• 26:26Connor Wood?

I love when those two get together.

• 26:27Brooke Averick?

I'm just like filling to the brim with like completely unnecessary words and songs. Sorry.

• 26:33Connor Wood?

No, it's good. What I'm gonna say, I'm just really, if you can jump it at any point, this is not like an important story to share. I just was staying in a really nice hotel and, well, because we were all staying together, but then Jake and team were going to Seattle and I was flying. Naturally, I was flying from Vancouver to Virginia Beach because that's my natural route, which is by the way, other side of the, like Vancouver is on the west coast. Virginia Beach is on the-

• 26:57Brooke Averick?

  Yeah.

• 26:58Connor Wood?

  Atlantic.

• 26:59Brooke Averick?

  Exactly.

• 27:00Connor Wood?

So, did that. That was a super long flight, but the night, so I go home and they'd all left the hotel and I had just told them like this hotel is kind of giving me murdery energy, but like via the staff. Like they, they are telling-

• 27:12Brooke Averick?

  Yeah.

• 27:12Connor Wood?

accomplices to like go into this room.

• 27:14Brooke Averick?

  Yeah.

• 27:15Connor Wood?

And the curtains in this room. So first of all, I, I, I didn't know what a turn down service was.

• 27:21Brooke Averick?

I mean, now I'm, my brain's going, turn down for what? Like, I don't know what is going on.

• 27:27Connor Wood?

  Turned down for what?

• 27:28Brooke Averick?

I don't know what is going on.

• 27:30Connor Wood?

No, literally. So I had this murdery thought and then I go, I go downstairs for, we're doing dinner or something. We come back up. I was gone for an hour and a half. Come up, my bed's ruffled, like pulled, the sheets are pulled down. I go- What the hell? And I look at my curtains and they're, they're, it's curtains that cover every wall. Like you push the button and it closes every window and wall, but they're like this. They're kind of like curved. And so then I go, this is really freaky. Like the curtains are closed now. My bed's messed up. I go into the bathroom. I sit down to pee. That's my God given right. And

• 28:04Brooke Averick?

Do you typically sit down to pee?

• 28:06Connor Wood?

Just at night. So I don't like pee on the ground on accident.

• 28:09Brooke Averick?

  Okay.

• 28:09Connor Wood?

No, I'm not at a 7-Eleven. I can't pee on the ground in my hotel. And

• 28:13Brooke Averick?

You like to pee on the ground in 7-Eleven?

• 28:14Connor Wood?

Yeah, it's like where you go to do that.

• 28:17Brooke Averick?

  Nice.

• 28:17Connor Wood?

And so I am sitting there and I'm, I'm pissing and I, I hear a car almost like it's in my room. And I look out and a balcony door that's in the bathroom that I had not opened or gone out. Why would I go to the bath? Why would I go to the balcony that's attached to my bathroom? It's wide open. And I go, oh my God, I'm not alone. I go out, I'm looking at all the curtains, all those curves on the curtains. I go, there's a man in each one of these. And that's like why it's curved, because there's a person. I call security. I go, you need to send some of your toughest men up here. Someone broke into my room.

• 28:50Brooke Averick?

That's so scary in crime shows when they start shooting at the curtains. Cause they're like, he's in the curtains. And then the really, they just put like pillows stacked up there as a distraction and the killer's behind you.

• 29:00Connor Wood?

  I mean,

• 29:00Brooke Averick?

And you got distracted by the, the pillows in the curtain.

• 29:03Connor Wood?

New fear unlocked. No, I was fully like, I was like, there's a man in here, like get up here now.

• 29:07Brooke Averick?

  Boom, boom, boom.

• 29:07Connor Wood?

And then I was thinking like, while I'm on speakerphone, they're going to run out and slit my throat. And so I go on the hallway and I'm barefoot and I'm in, in my boxers. And I was like, I'm so sorry. Like I just locked myself out and they're in, there's someone in there.

• 29:18Brooke Averick?

  Yeah.

• 29:18Connor Wood?

And they go in and they go, yeah, there's, there's no one in here. And I go, well, the balcony door was open in the bathroom. They go, yeah, the maids left that open because of the smell.

• 29:34Brooke Averick?

  That's hysterical.

• 29:36Connor Wood?

Yeah, they left it open because of the smell in my bathroom.

• 29:38Brooke Averick?

  Yeah.

• 29:39Connor Wood?

  Which like

• 29:39Brooke Averick?

That'll like, that's where smells are supposed to be.

• 29:41Connor Wood?

  I mean, come on.

• 29:43Brooke Averick?

  Come on.

• 29:43Connor Wood?

I got, come on, Elsa, shut it when you

• 29:46Brooke Averick?

Here's my question. If you like have a like holy shit moment in the restroom, like literally?

• 29:53Connor Wood?

  Yeah.

• 29:54Brooke Averick?

  And

• 29:56Brooke Averick?

Would you rather like, close the door when that's done and you leave? Or leave it open?

• 30:02Connor Wood?

  You leave it open.

• 30:02Brooke Averick?

I agree. What about if people are over?

• 30:05Connor Wood?

  Oh, you shut that down?

• 30:06Brooke Averick?

  Yeah. But then that's tough.

• 30:08Connor Wood?

You put that thing back where it's came from.

• 30:09Brooke Averick?

But then, somebody's gonna walk in and it's like, the smell never cleared out. Cause you, I would honestly leave it cracked when people are over.

• 30:16Connor Wood?

It's tough in my apartment, cause everyone walks by the door to go down.

• 30:21Brooke Averick?

Yeah, that's very true. Love your apartment, by the way.

• 30:23Connor Wood?

  Thank you.

• 30:24Brooke Averick?

  Yeah.

• 30:24Connor Wood?

They were being, like Brett was over too and was, you guys were being so nice about it.

• 30:27Brooke Averick?

  Really so cute.

• 30:29Connor Wood?

  I'm stressed about it.

• 30:30Brooke Averick?

  You shouldn't be.

• 30:32Connor Wood?

Cause I, I want it to be done and lived in, you know? Like I come back and I'm like, I don't have.

• 30:36Brooke Averick?

Well, you gotta stay here then for more than a week or so.

• 30:39Connor Wood?

  I'm here for two weeks.

• 30:40Brooke Averick?

  That's good.

• 30:41Connor Wood?

That's like my longest stint here. I'm really excited.

• 30:46Connor Wood?

Yeah, it's gonna be good. And it's like, it's so nice out in New York and it's just like.

• 30:50Brooke Averick?

  I like it here.

• 30:51Connor Wood?

  Yeah. I like it here.

• 30:53Brooke Averick?

I like it here, but that like, I don't, I don't care for the winters. Again, my ideal world would be being bi-coastal.

• 30:59Connor Wood?

  Yeah.

• 31:01Brooke Averick?

Not there yet, but you know, fingers crossed, I'm still very young.

• 31:04Connor Wood?

Explore your body a little bit.

• 31:06Brooke Averick?

  Very, very, very young.

• 31:07Connor Wood?

Yeah, well, you've got, you've got work out here and out there. Like maybe it is, maybe it's, maybe it's time to explore that.

• 31:12Brooke Averick?

  Maybe.

• 31:15Connor Wood?

Okay, now I'll just keep going. Jump in whenever.

• 31:18Brooke Averick?

I mean, I could, I could talk to you, whatever you want.

• 31:21Connor Wood?

No, Brooke, take it. Cause I was. Talk about Hawaii.

• 31:26Brooke Averick?

You can talk about Hawaii. What's, what, what's going on with your toes?

• 31:29Connor Wood?

  Oh, my, that's black toe.

• 31:30Brooke Averick?

What, why, have we spoken about black toes?

• 31:32Connor Wood?

We talked, that was the name of our episode.

• 31:34Brooke Averick?

The other one too. The big toe. Just like, what's that, is that just a piece of skin?

• 31:40Connor Wood?

Where, where? Where do you see?

• 31:43Brooke Averick?

I need, I need. Oh, nothing. My eyes aren't good, you know that.

• 31:48Connor Wood?

You were imagining my toe black?

• 31:50Brooke Averick?

Why are your toe black? Um, oh Connor. I mean, I don't even know where to begin.

• 31:57Connor Wood?

  What about what?

• 31:59Brooke Averick?

I like hit a like breaking point with my, you know, I've been crashing out of over hinge.

• 32:05Connor Wood?

  Yeah.

• 32:05Brooke Averick?

Hit a breaking point, was just like, I will, I'm just gonna go on a date with like, literally any one of these people. And just call it a freaking day after that. Cause it's just like, my goal with that really was to just be able to say like, I went on a date.

• 32:21Connor Wood?

  Yeah.

• 32:22Brooke Averick?

That was literally the only thing I was wanting to go into this with.

• 32:25Connor Wood?

Oh, this is, are we, are we jumping into manifestation box right now?

• 32:28Brooke Averick?

So I have now completed all of the little pieces of paper in our box.

• 32:33Connor Wood?

  Oh, my gosh.

• 32:34Brooke Averick?

Yeah. I did the damn thing.

• 32:36Connor Wood?

  Yep. And, and well done.

• 32:39Brooke Averick?

Thanks. There was a young man who just like, we exchanged really no conversation. Truly like three back and forth.

• 32:45Connor Wood?

  Where'd you go?

• 32:47Brooke Averick?

  Let me tell you something.

• 32:51Brooke Averick?

In our three back and forths.

• 32:52Connor Wood?

  On the messages?

• 32:53Brooke Averick?

On the messages, he said, do you want to get tea?

• 32:58Connor Wood?

  Right.

• 32:58Brooke Averick?

Or coffee at 7:00 PM? And I was kind of thinking like, no, not right now, but thank you.

• 33:09Brooke Averick?

  But then I was like.

• 33:09Connor Wood?

What drew you to this young man?

• 33:10Brooke Averick?

Literally just nothing. Just like the fact that I wanted to go on a date. I was like, let's just do it. And he was the first one that asked. And I was just like, I just, it was literally, I was like desperate to rip the Band-Aid off. It got to like a point. And I was like, okay. And I kind of figured like, he just maybe didn't want to ask to get a drink. Cause like, I don't know. Like maybe that felt like more serious, but I was like, there will be alcohol. Like I'm not doing a first date without like a glass of wine or something.

• 33:35Connor Wood?

  Yeah.

• 33:35Brooke Averick?

But luckily Channing and Kat and Sodi are friends. We went to the area and like had dinner first. And so I had like, I had a little glass of wine.

• 33:48Connor Wood?

  Yeah.

• 33:48Brooke Averick?

And then I was like, I'll have my second glass of wine at tea time.

• 33:51Connor Wood?

  Right.

• 33:51Brooke Averick?

Connor, it was completely just tea.

• 33:54Connor Wood?

You went to a, like a tea house?

• 33:56Brooke Averick?

Cafe. Completely a cafe. Yeah. Imagine like.

• 34:03Connor Wood?

Izzy, can you go push the button that has a key on it?

• 34:07Connor Wood?

It's on the screen and even if it goes dark, it should still work.

• 34:11Brooke Averick?

Like, that's just like, I, if you had told me I had, I did my first hinge date like completely sober.

• 34:17Connor Wood?

  Yeah.

• 34:18Brooke Averick?

I would have said, there's no way. There was a way. And it wasn't easy, Connor. Wasn't easy. I will say, um, when, I would say on impact, seeing each other, me and the young man, it was not a match.

• 34:34Connor Wood?

  Yeah.

• 34:34Brooke Averick?

Mutually, you can just tell. Like, it's really weird. People say like-

• 34:40Connor Wood?

But it's also not, it's not love is blind. Like, you guys had pictures to work off of.

• 34:44Brooke Averick?

I did, he was cute. Like, he's fine, but like, you can just tell. Like, I knew right off the-

• 34:49Connor Wood?

Like, the way, the way he was caring or something?

• 34:50Brooke Averick?

I knew he was not interested in me, and I was feeling the same way. And it was like, just like a pretty awkward, like, hello, side hug.

• 34:57Connor Wood?

Holy moly. I mean, there should be, you should bring those balloons that they have in the YouTube videos and just pop it and be like, hey, yeah, let's go home.

• 35:05Brooke Averick?

  I, I think like, if-

• 35:07Connor Wood?

  What a waste of time.

• 35:08Brooke Averick?

We lived in a world where you could just be so honest with each other. Again, on impact, I think it would have been a situation where it's like, ain't gonna work, champ.

• 35:16Connor Wood?

That's, that's love on the spectrum, actually.

• 35:18Brooke Averick?

Like, right away. If it, like, truly, I would, I think both of us, it really, like, was so, I could tell, like, he was not feeling it. And-

• 35:24Connor Wood?

  Wow.

• 35:25Brooke Averick?

Yeah, and I was also not feeling it. But, I mean, I really, like, it was fine, totally fine conversation, like, felt more like a job interview. I was mostly thinking the whole time, like, thank God I'm doing this and thank God it's gonna be over soon. And really, like, truly nothing to report. It was pleasant.

• 35:44Connor Wood?

  Yeah.

• 35:45Brooke Averick?

And then, like, I was kind of, there were points where I was like, I would kill to be sipping on wine right now. I'd, I'd kill for it. So thirsty for it.

• 35:53Connor Wood?

  Yeah.

• 35:54Brooke Averick?

I'd almost even kill for some sweet chili lime, Captain Morgan.

• 35:56Connor Wood?

  Yeah.

• 35:58Brooke Averick?

Um, but yeah, it was so uneventful. And then-

• 36:03Brooke Averick?

I think I kind of just wrapped up by being like, well, it was really nice meeting you.

• 36:07Connor Wood?

  Brooke, well done.

• 36:08Brooke Averick?

Yeah, I felt like that was really good. And then another incredibly painful side hug.

• 36:13Connor Wood?

  Yeah.

• 36:14Brooke Averick?

And then I was feeling like that was like a really nice person and like I wouldn't be opposed to like doing something with him as a friend even because he was nice.

• 36:26Connor Wood?

  Yeah.

• 36:26Brooke Averick?

And then he never texted me like it was nice meeting you or anything, which I was under the impression that's something that you do. Like I was not expecting a let's do something again, but I was expecting a like, nice meeting you. Hope you got home safe or something from him, especially because I did feel like it was like a friendly meetup.

• 36:46Connor Wood?

  Yeah.

• 36:46Brooke Averick?

So that's completely tainted my image of him.

• 36:49Connor Wood?

  Sure.

• 36:49Brooke Averick?

And now I feel, I'd feel negative about the whole experience.

• 36:51Connor Wood?

Yeah, I think that's a good call out. Just like if, if you are ever in a one-on-one situation with anyone, you should always send a thank you.

• 36:57Brooke Averick?

  I think.

• 36:58Connor Wood?

  Thanks for your time.

• 36:59Brooke Averick?

I didn't send one either, but I do.

• 37:01Connor Wood?

  It was a date.

• 37:02Brooke Averick?

I think it's on the guy. I really do feel that way.

• 37:04Connor Wood?

Did he pay for your tea?

• 37:05Brooke Averick?

  Um.

• 37:06Connor Wood?

  Did you have tea?

• 37:06Brooke Averick?

So I had tea. I'm not, I don't think like, I think it was kind of a like, he got tea and a vegan cookie and I just like got a cup.

• 37:14Connor Wood?

  Oh my God.

• 37:15Brooke Averick?

So I don't think I got anything, but he might've paid for my tea. I don't even know.

• 37:20Connor Wood?

  That sounds like my personal.

• 37:21Brooke Averick?

And then I was panicking because I was like, did I say thank you? I don't even think I said thank you. And then I was like.

• 37:27Connor Wood?

That's crazy. Like you just described purgatory to me.

• 37:29Brooke Averick?

Yeah, it was like, I am, I, yeah. But he was a nice guy until I never got a text.

• 37:36Connor Wood?

  Understood.

• 37:36Brooke Averick?

And so that I've been looking at the.

• 37:39Connor Wood?

  Valid.

• 37:39Brooke Averick?

At the date with like kind of more negativity than I originally did. But you know, positive experience. I did it. I'm glad it's over. I do not think that I will be doing it again via dating app. I did have kind of a breakdown. I left the place like smiling, like yay, I did it. And then by the time I got to the location that my friends were at, my face had completely dropped. And I was like, almost about to cry because I was like, that's what it like, that's what this is? Like, holy shit, this ain't gonna work for me, champ.

• 38:12Connor Wood?

  Uh huh.

• 38:12Brooke Averick?

Um. And yeah, I don't think I'm gonna do that again anytime soon because I just don't see myself being able to fully be myself in a situation where it's kind of like a first date job interview type of thing.

• 38:25Connor Wood?

I'm just trying to be myself. I gotta everybody marry me fully.

• 38:27Brooke Averick?

But I don't know. Every time I say this to someone,

• 38:28Connor Wood?

  I've got songs too.

• 38:29Brooke Averick?

Someone either says like, yeah, I totally get that. I see you meeting someone in the real world, or someone says you just gotta keep going. It's a numbers game.

• 38:37Connor Wood?

Or like you gotta, you gotta marry someone with a wife sometimes, or a gay man.

• 38:43Brooke Averick?

You have to marry someone with a wife?

• 38:45Connor Wood?

Yeah, or a fiance, or maybe even a girlfriend.

• 38:49Brooke Averick?

What are you talking about? Oh, like one of my crushes already?

• 38:52Connor Wood?

  Yeah.

• 38:54Brooke Averick?

It's possible. Yeah, I would be, I've been thinking I'd be really fine being someone's second marriage. I think I'd be a great stepmom too.

• 38:59Connor Wood?

Sure. You would. Oh, my God.

• 39:02Brooke Averick?

I think that. I really have thought about that recently. But yeah, as of right now, I won't be doing, I'm not on Hinge. I have deleted the app, but I still have an account. And yeah, that was really it. It was pretty uneventful. I wish I had more to say. Uh, that's a freaking wrap for me.

• 39:18Connor Wood?

Yeah, you did it though. Like, that's the point, is that you like went out and you did it and you did, like, that is like just part of dating. It's just like there are, it's flop. It's flop after flop and then you meet someone and then...

• 39:29Brooke Averick?

I, I don't have it in me. I think also like as a like deeply hopeless romantic who like romanticizes romance so much, it's honestly like if I can't have that, then I'm not really interested and that's fine. Like, I've kind of come to terms with like maybe what I want is not something that will happen and, oh, well. I literally, I've been so, after this date, I'm like, I'm just like, it's all right. I'm calling it. I'm really calling it.

• 40:02Connor Wood?

Maybe you need to explore New York a little bit.

• 40:04Brooke Averick?

I know. Cause I do walk around New York and I'm like, I see more men that I could even just looks-wise that I feel connected to.

• 40:12Connor Wood?

Well, also you're walking more. So like you're running into more people. There's, I feel like there's more life to be lived here.

• 40:18Brooke Averick?

Yeah, it's tough. I, I don't know what, I don't know what my next step is in the dating world. It's not another Hinge date.

• 40:28Connor Wood?

  Right.

• 40:28Brooke Averick?

And, um, I have let go.

• 40:33Connor Wood?

  Have you let go?

• 40:34Brooke Averick?

I've completely taken the pressure off. I'm just like, if it doesn't happen, it doesn't happen. I don't give a shit. At least I have my imagination and my books and my cats.

• 40:43Connor Wood?

I think that's a great perspective to have.

• 40:46Brooke Averick?

I really do feel that way for better or for worse.

• 40:48Connor Wood?

  Give yourself some time to...

• 40:50Brooke Averick?

And I'm not even just saying that because it's like, oh, when you stop caring, that's when you'll find someone. And like, I'm not trying to force that. I really am done.

• 40:59Connor Wood?

  Brooke, I believe you.

• 41:01Brooke Averick?

Girl who goes on one date and is exhausted.

• 41:04Connor Wood?

Hey, that's real. That's real as fuck. And it's...

• 41:10Connor Wood?

  Well...

• 41:10Brooke Averick?

  It's like I'm pissed.

• 41:11Connor Wood?

Yeah, no, but you don't care as well.

• 41:13Brooke Averick?

  I don't give a shit.

• 41:14Connor Wood?

  I don't give a shit. I am mad, though.

• 41:16Brooke Averick?

I'm like so mad, don't give a shit.

• 41:18Connor Wood?

  I'm mad as hell.

• 41:20Brooke Averick?

Yeah, I will say, he reacted really positively to, obviously, I started like going off about Jonathan Larson.

• 41:27Connor Wood?

  Yeah.

• 41:28Brooke Averick?

And he reacted positively to that. And I was like, that was something, that was a positive, that was sweet. It really was like not a bad experience in the moment, just looking back.

• 41:37Connor Wood?

We're getting like really mixed messages.

• 41:39Brooke Averick?

I know. I am literally, it's like one second, I'm like, hey, ma'am, whatever. And the next second, I'm like, I will die alone with my cat, and that's fine.

• 41:49Connor Wood?

  Okay, at least you're consistent.

• 41:50Brooke Averick?

  Yeah.

• 41:53Speaker 00

Somebody asked me how I define myself, and I didn't know what to say. Because how can someone be defined when we're always evolving? I've been so many things. I'll be so many others.

• 42:53Brooke Averick?

My therapist is gonna be so excited.

• 42:56Brooke Averick?

Haven't gotten the chance to tell her yet. Cause I said, the next time I see you, I will have gone on a date. I didn't have anything planned yet. And she said, okay, cause I've said that before.

• 43:06Connor Wood?

Well, you did it this time. Um, I have a new manifestation to put into the box.

• 43:11Brooke Averick?

  Why?

• 43:12Connor Wood?

No, it's like, this is like make a wish thing that like truly it's like, I can't even tell you like my eyelash falls onto my thumb or whatever that thing is.

• 43:18Brooke Averick?

  Yeah.

• 43:19Connor Wood?

And I blow it away and then I can't, I can't tell you this one. Cause I want it to happen really bad and I.

• 43:24Brooke Averick?

  Is it career related?

• 43:25Connor Wood?

  Yeah.

• 43:25Brooke Averick?

  Okay.

• 43:26Connor Wood?

But it's, it's unrelated to anything that you are thinking. It's a new thought that I had in the middle of the night.

• 43:30Brooke Averick?

Is it a new career path? Or?

• 43:32Connor Wood?

  No.

• 43:32Brooke Averick?

  Extension of your current?

• 43:33Connor Wood?

And it's an extension of my current.

• 43:35Brooke Averick?

How about you give me a hint?

• 43:36Connor Wood?

I can't. Like this, this really has to come.

• 43:39Brooke Averick?

So how will you manifest this?

• 43:42Connor Wood?

By working on myself, but it's someone that I want to work with.

• 43:45Brooke Averick?

  Oh, as a person?

• 43:46Connor Wood?

  Yeah. And it's accessible.

• 43:48Brooke Averick?

  In the comedy space?

• 43:48Connor Wood?

  Yeah.

• 43:49Brooke Averick?

And you want to do something with them?

• 43:52Connor Wood?

I think someone's trying to deliver something. It's like.

• 43:54Brooke Averick?

  Sounds like it.

• 43:55Connor Wood?

  Go for Connor?

• 43:58Brooke Averick?

  Someone's trying to deliver something.

• 43:59Connor Wood?

That's perfect. If we can, can we go earlier at all?

• 44:04Brooke Averick?

Making plans. Come back to sleep. This meeting's at dawn. Well, I'm going back to sleep.

• 44:13Connor Wood?

It's my restaurant reservation for later tonight and they're just making sure I can go. Jake and West.

• 44:20Brooke Averick?

Best of wives and best of women.

• 44:22Connor Wood?

And then we're going to Corner Store to get a martini.

• 44:25Brooke Averick?

  I want to go there.

• 44:25Connor Wood?

  At 8:30.

• 44:26Brooke Averick?

  I'll go Malcolm meet you.

• 44:27Connor Wood?

  No, we're going at 9:30.

• 44:29Brooke Averick?

Yeah. Like no, but it was really nice talking to you.

• 44:33Connor Wood?

No. Earlier than that, I have 5:15. Oh, okay. No worries. We'll stick with, we'll stick with 8:30.

• 44:42Connor Wood?

  Okay, thanks. Bye.

• 44:43Brooke Averick?

That's something that doesn't work for me about New York.

• 44:46Connor Wood?

  8:30?

• 44:47Brooke Averick?

I've either like the dinners being at five or eight. Like, do y'all know what seven is?

• 44:53Connor Wood?

Brooke, nothing's available at seven. Restaurants, like a lot of restaurants aren't even open at seven. They open for dinner at like eight.

• 44:58Brooke Averick?

It's not going to work for me, champ.

• 45:01Connor Wood?

Listen, the thing is, like a lot of, you just go to dinner and you just sit there. Now, the thing that I hate is like, a lot of people are like, ooh, we only have a 9:30 table. And I'm like, okay, so I'll order by 10:30. The food will arrive by 11:15.

• 45:18Connor Wood?

I'll eat, get the check, someone's gonna, some dumbass is gonna ask to see the dessert menu, or I'm getting home at 1.

• 45:25Brooke Averick?

  That's a smart person.

• 45:27Connor Wood?

  No, no.

• 45:27Brooke Averick?

I don't do dinner without dessert now.

• 45:30Connor Wood?

  I had the-

• 45:30Brooke Averick?

Well, you're dumb in the first place for going out that late.

• 45:33Connor Wood?

Sometimes it's, sometimes when there's six people going and it's like, it's a birthday or something and like you're the additional person, it's like, I'm not gonna, I'm not gonna be like, oh, I can't do that, you guys. It's just like, okay, I'm not gonna have, I'm not gonna have an early morning tomorrow.

• 45:44Brooke Averick?

I'm not, I'm, like, it seems like it's not like a one-off, like, birthday situation here. It's constant.

• 45:50Connor Wood?

People are, people are clinical here. It is, it is a little bit like, we are not in Barcelona. I don't know how to, like, tell you guys.

• 45:55Brooke Averick?

  We're not in Barcelona.

• 45:56Connor Wood?

  We're not in Bartha.

• 45:58Brooke Averick?

Yeah. So, yeah, it does pick me off a little bit.

• 46:02Connor Wood?

  I'm on your side.

• 46:03Brooke Averick?

It doesn't feel like you are.

• 46:05Connor Wood?

I don't, my, my dinner, a dinner that I'm eating after dark, no, a dinner that I'm eating after 9pm, needs to be right there on my couch.

• 46:13Brooke Averick?

  That's not dinner, that's next morning's breakfast.

• 46:16Connor Wood?

None, no, if, if you stay up like me, I've said this before, I'll say it again in the future, if I eat dinner, you know, with the sun going down, like, like, now that the sun stays up so late, like, I still have my dinner at like 6:37, but then like, I'm staying up till midnight, so, like, I'm like a cocker spaniel, I'm gonna get hungry again, by like 10.

• 46:38Brooke Averick?

Well, you need to eat at like 5 first.

• 46:40Connor Wood?

Yeah, I'm doing this thing where I don't eat my first meal until like 11:30, 12.

• 46:46Brooke Averick?

I can't, I am like so nauseous in the morning.

• 46:49Connor Wood?

  So you need to eat?

• 46:50Brooke Averick?

No, I can't eat in the morning.

• 46:51Connor Wood?

  Oh, no, I mean-

• 46:53Brooke Averick?

What does that mean, everyone? Let us know in the comments. Actually, unless it's something bad, in which case-

• 47:00Connor Wood?

Oh, Brooke, that pre-Nuvo place DM'd me again. I'm gonna do this full-body scan.

• 47:05Brooke Averick?

The scan, I told them no, cuz you scared me.

• 47:07Connor Wood?

No, I texted him, I said, I really kinda don't wanna know, and they go, that's how I, I'm, I'm talking to this person via the brand, and I'm like, I'm scared, I just like kinda don't wanna know, cuz like, and she's like, no, low-key me too. I'm fully talking to the pre-Nuvo scanner device, and it's like, no, low-key me too.

• 47:22Brooke Averick?

  Like therapy.

• 47:22Connor Wood?

Yeah. And she's like, no, I thought that too, but then it's like, how much better of a feeling to catch something early if you do have that. And I was like, yeah, I guess like in theory you're right, but like, I don't wanna deal with that right now, you know? I don't even have a dentist, and I-

• 47:36Brooke Averick?

  No, she's right.

• 47:37Connor Wood?

I chipped the shit out of my tooth over the weekend.

• 47:39Brooke Averick?

  Really?

• 47:39Connor Wood?

  Yeah. I was just-

• 47:42Brooke Averick?

My tooth gap is so bad and it's like, I don't.

• 47:45Connor Wood?

  It's not.

• 47:45Brooke Averick?

Yes, it is. And it was so bad in my audible episode with Dylan.

• 47:49Connor Wood?

  Oh, my gosh.

• 47:49Brooke Averick?

  That's all I could see.

• 47:50Connor Wood?

  I reposted it on TikTok.

• 47:52Brooke Averick?

I really had so much fun. I love the guy more than life itself.

• 47:54Connor Wood?

I mean, he's one of my closest friends.

• 47:55Brooke Averick?

Like, my God, he's the greatest guy that I know.

• 47:58Connor Wood?

Yeah, catch me in his guest bedroom when I go back to LA.

• 48:00Brooke Averick?

Like, that's gonna piss me off.

• 48:03Connor Wood?

  We were swapping.

• 48:05Brooke Averick?

We were literally passing Dylan back and forth.

• 48:08Connor Wood?

I was like, he's with you. Like, he posted me on his story and I was like, I had no books to see this.

• 48:15Brooke Averick?

I mean, I must have responded after 52 seconds.

• 48:17Connor Wood?

  No, you were like, oh.

• 48:19Brooke Averick?

I was like, nice. Oh, so you have him today?

• 48:21Connor Wood?

Yeah, well, no, yeah, I know. We're doing, um.

• 48:24Brooke Averick?

Nice. He didn't tell me he was gonna be with you.

• 48:25Connor Wood?

Yeah, it was, uh, like, um, divorced parents, getting the kids.

• 48:32Connor Wood?

Crap, what was I gonna say?

• 48:33Brooke Averick?

My last DM and I feel like I'm, uh, like, pretty upset about it.

• 48:37Connor Wood?

I full-blown texted him. I was like, hey, how are you? I haven't heard from you.

• 48:40Brooke Averick?

Uh, cuz I wanted, I wanted to check in, so I said, all right, the episode was so good. Haven't heard from him, wanna die, like Jen, but, um, he probably, he didn't see it, he's so busy.

• 48:50Connor Wood?

  He's such a busy guy.

• 48:52Brooke Averick?

  Yeah.

• 48:53Connor Wood?

  Bless his heart.

• 48:53Brooke Averick?

But we, we, we also have each other's numbers, too.

• 48:56Connor Wood?

  Yeah, it's great.

• 48:57Brooke Averick?

  We text, too.

• 48:58Connor Wood?

You could maybe make a group text.

• 48:59Brooke Averick?

  Well.

• 49:00Connor Wood?

  No, we don't need to.

• 49:01Brooke Averick?

  Well.

• 49:02Connor Wood?

  Let's, let's.

• 49:02Brooke Averick?

Well, we could, but I wanna keep also our separate relationships, too. Just me and him especially.

• 49:07Connor Wood?

Right. Well, we do need to plan our, we need to plan our diving trip.

• 49:11Brooke Averick?

You guys, you boys have that. Me and him will have the book thing.

• 49:14Connor Wood?

You don't wanna get sucked away into the deep blue?

• 49:16Brooke Averick?

I don't wanna do a bathing suit. I've discussed that.

• 49:20Connor Wood?

Oh, my God, my stomach's starting to, my stomach's starting to turn.

• 49:24Brooke Averick?

Burr, you disgust me. Ah, so you disgust me. Do you know what I mean?

• 49:28Connor Wood?

  Yeah.

• 49:32Connor Wood?

You don't bring Aaron Burr into this.

• 49:34Brooke Averick?

  You should see Hamilton.

• 49:35Connor Wood?

I would love to at some point in my life.

• 49:38Brooke Averick?

You can go whenever. Do you realize how lucky you are to live in this city, in the greatest city in the world?

• 49:45Connor Wood?

I'm trying to go see shows.

• 49:46Brooke Averick?

I've been reading Common Sense by Thomas Paine.

• 49:54Connor Wood?

I uh, me too. I um, I uh, I um, I uh, I can't remember what I was gonna say and it was like gonna be good too. Damn.

• 50:02Brooke Averick?

You could go see a show anytime.

• 50:04Connor Wood?

No, I am gonna go see a show.

• 50:04Brooke Averick?

Like I have to fly across the country for it. I am seeing Sunset Boulevard tomorrow.

• 50:09Connor Wood?

Oh, what the hell, man? The last show I was gonna go to, I was like, I'm not gonna go sit next to this random stranger and go see this show.

• 50:16Brooke Averick?

Literally, you're not talking to your friends you go with anyway, so. Um, and then I'm seeing Jonathan's show.

• 50:22Connor Wood?

  That's exciting.

• 50:23Brooke Averick?

On Friday, which I'm just like, holy shit. So excited.

• 50:28Connor Wood?

  That'll be great.

• 50:28Brooke Averick?

Yeah. But anyway, the original Hamilton cast reunited at the Tonys the other night, which was just blew me away.

• 50:38Connor Wood?

  Clear sarc, shark.

• 50:39Brooke Averick?

It blew me away and yet still I was not satisfied and that's exactly what Lynn predicted.

• 50:44Connor Wood?

  He's an oracle.

• 50:45Brooke Averick?

  Yeah.

• 50:46Connor Wood?

I bet he has the worst BO. I like, I'm just guessing, but I just can tell that he's.

• 50:51Brooke Averick?

I like, he is like God to me. I'm really serious.

• 50:56Connor Wood?

  LMM?

• 50:57Brooke Averick?

  LMM.

• 50:58Connor Wood?

  Wow.

• 50:59Brooke Averick?

He's just like truly a theater kid who just reached like unfathomable amounts of success.

• 51:07Connor Wood?

  I just remembered something.

• 51:08Brooke Averick?

  What?

• 51:09Connor Wood?

  TSA took my bag.

• 51:12Brooke Averick?

Cause you're sprayed deodorant? That happened to me?

• 51:14Connor Wood?

No. Took my bag. In a really serious way. Took a second TSA agent, they're whispering to each other, whose bag is this? I go, mine. They look at me, they take it to the private screening area. They dump sack. I go, oh my gosh, like what? They go, do you have a firearm? I go, pardon? Do you have a firearm? They repeat. I go, why do you, why would you say? They reach to the bottom of my bag, they pull it, they pull this thing out.

• 51:45Connor Wood?

They go, is this a magazine clip for a firearm? I go.

• 51:49Brooke Averick?

What the hell's a magazine clip?

• 51:51Connor Wood?

The thing that you put the bullets in. I go, sir, that's a harmonica.

• 51:57Brooke Averick?

Why did you have a harmonica?

• 51:59Connor Wood?

I don't remember ever even getting a harmonica. They pulled my back for, they thought I had a gun. It was a harmonica.

• 52:04Brooke Averick?

  Sir, that's a harmonica.

• 52:06Connor Wood?

I go, I'm sure that's a harmonica. I go, do you, you should probably know what a gun looks like, man. Oh, lordy. So that's, yeah, I got my back pulled. I have to tell you, sorry, last like plane. No, I don't even want to tell this. I'm done telling plane stories. You guys are like, people are over them.

• 52:23Brooke Averick?

Cry on the plane a lot?

• 52:24Connor Wood?

Um, that's a thing. That's a study that they did.

• 52:28Brooke Averick?

I, that's the only place I'm really able to like, let go and let God. I was, I mean.

• 52:34Connor Wood?

  Hysterics?

• 52:34Brooke Averick?

I wasn't even sad. It was just like very therapeutic and cathartic on the way here. Complete hysterics. I enjoyed it.

• 52:41Connor Wood?

You have a, yeah, that's, that's like something that you could almost like. That's like healthy. That was healthy, like that cry. You, you've had a monumental moment that you're visiting New York for your book. Like your career is taking off and you're flying. Let's, that's like, that's like one of those like music video moments. That's a show moment, honestly.

• 53:01Brooke Averick?

Ah, that's sweet. Oh, yeah, but I do enjoy crying on planes.

• 53:05Connor Wood?

  Yeah, it's, it's, it's kind of cathartic.

• 53:08Brooke Averick?

  It is definitely cathartic.

• 53:10Connor Wood?

Lots of things can be cathartic if you let them.

• 53:13Brooke Averick?

I think that the best types of ads.

• 53:16Connor Wood?

  Yeah.

• 53:16Brooke Averick?

Like, for example, the ones that are running through my head right now. Cause there is something like very serious happening today.

• 53:23Connor Wood?

  Yeah.

• 53:23Brooke Averick?

In the brain space, uh, have, are the ones that ask the right questions.

• 53:29Connor Wood?

  Like what?

• 53:29Brooke Averick?

What would you do for a Klondike bar?

• 53:31Connor Wood?

  Yeah.

• 53:32Brooke Averick?

How many licks does it take to get to the center of a Tootsie Pop?

• 53:34Connor Wood?

  Facts.

• 53:35Brooke Averick?

  What else is there?

• 53:39Brooke Averick?

This isn't a question, but it's the cat is good too. Give me a break. Give me a break.

• 53:45Connor Wood?

I mean, that's just simply catchy.

• 53:46Brooke Averick?

Break me up. Yeah, that's good too. Jingles. Whatever happened to jingles?

• 53:50Connor Wood?

  We lost them.

• 53:51Brooke Averick?

  Bring back jingles.

• 53:52Connor Wood?

We lost them truly after the recession in 2008.

• 53:55Brooke Averick?

  Really?

• 53:55Connor Wood?

The jingles, like, people were like, we're not doing jingles anymore.

• 53:58Brooke Averick?

Remember she wore an itsy bitsy teeny weeny yellow polka dot bikini?

• 54:01Connor Wood?

  Do I remember that?

• 54:02Brooke Averick?

  That one was so good.

• 54:04Connor Wood?

I mean, you can't, you can't really miss, for me, the, the beer commercial with the dog and the Clydesdales, where they just become like, I'll watch anything. You put two-

• 54:14Brooke Averick?

  I don't know that one.

• 54:15Connor Wood?

You put two animals together that are unlikely friends. Guess who's, guess who's clocking in?

• 54:19Brooke Averick?

  What two animals?

• 54:20Connor Wood?

A tortoise and a hare. I don't know. Any two animals.

• 54:23Brooke Averick?

No, in that commercial, what two animals?

• 54:24Connor Wood?

  It's a, it's a Labrador and like a Clydesdale horse.

• 54:27Brooke Averick?

  Oh.

• 54:28Connor Wood?

And they find each other in every life. I'm like, yeah, I'm subscribing to this. I love when one's like an emu and one's like a miniature donkey. I'm like, yeah, this is-

• 54:35Brooke Averick?

  Bring back storytelling in commercials?

• 54:38Connor Wood?

  Yeah.

• 54:38Brooke Averick?

Bring back jingles? Ads used to be good and now they're just ads.

• 54:44Connor Wood?

That being said, please, I have a bunch that I'm about to post and they're, they're great.

• 54:49Brooke Averick?

  What's that?

• 54:49Connor Wood?

That's my Waddle Waddle. So, wait, I want to tell you about Hawaii really quick.

• 54:52Brooke Averick?

Yeah, I want to hear about Hawaii.

• 54:53Connor Wood?

  Wait, there's really nothing.

• 54:57Connor Wood?

  Went to Hawaii.

• 54:58Brooke Averick?

  Yeah.

• 54:59Connor Wood?

We did the shows. I signed everybody up for shark diving.

• 55:03Brooke Averick?

Your carousel that you posted where you were shark diving and shit like that? That was like modern day, like art display in the MoMA, I thought.

• 55:12Connor Wood?

  You what?

• 55:13Brooke Averick?

  Yeah, I commented that.

• 55:14Connor Wood?

  Oh my gosh.

• 55:15Brooke Averick?

  It was like very pretty.

• 55:16Connor Wood?

  Thank you. Wow, I like-

• 55:18Brooke Averick?

That is the modern day art installation.

• 55:20Connor Wood?

I don't want anyone to be alarmed, but I am getting a film camera. I'm okay mentally, but you should always check on your friends if they do buy a film camera, something is-

• 55:30Speaker 00

Somebody asked me how I define myself and I didn't know what to say. Because how can someone be defined when we're always evolving? I've been so many things. I'll be so many others.

• 55:45Speaker 00

Because identity is not a performance. It's an exploration. Never the same, but always myself. That's the paradox. Paradox Intense and the new Sweet Chemistry by Prada.

• 55:59Speaker 04

• 56:28Connor Wood?

Something's going on at home, but I'm okay. I just like, someone had a film camera.

• 56:33Brooke Averick?

I think you have the eye.

• 56:34Connor Wood?

Someone had a film camera and I was like, let's do one here in this area. I framed it. I think I'm gonna start like being more, cause you remember that one carousel I posted? And I was like, this feels so good on the, on the, on the body to like, put something out on Instagram and be like, this is actually, I curated this, I edited these.

• 56:51Brooke Averick?

It's like more, it's like touching that creative part of your brain.

• 56:54Connor Wood?

  It feels good.

• 56:55Brooke Averick?

  Yeah.

• 56:56Connor Wood?

Yeah. And that's more of like, I am drawn to like color blocking and like color theory and things like that.

• 57:03Brooke Averick?

  You have the eye.

• 57:04Connor Wood?

  That felt good, thanks.

• 57:05Brooke Averick?

  You really do.

• 57:06Connor Wood?

  Thanks, Brooke.

• 57:08Brooke Averick?

You are, you do dabble in the visual arts and I always forget that.

• 57:12Connor Wood?

  Compliment city.

• 57:13Brooke Averick?

No, I really, I do think that you should explore that part of your, of your body more.

• 57:17Connor Wood?

  I am, I am.

• 57:19Brooke Averick?

  Yeah, good.

• 57:19Connor Wood?

  I'm not gonna.

• 57:20Brooke Averick?

I like that you're getting the film camera and everything like that.

• 57:22Connor Wood?

Yeah. Film cameras are like the acoustic guitars of, of this era.

• 57:29Brooke Averick?

They need to be used carefully.

• 57:30Connor Wood?

They, and, and guess what? You don't need to have it around your neck all the time. Like you don't need to bring it everywhere.

• 57:35Brooke Averick?

  Yeah.

• 57:36Connor Wood?

I think if you're gonna bring your film camera around, like we all know you have the film camera, you don't need to bring it all the time. Like let it be a treat.

• 57:44Brooke Averick?

  Mmm, I, I like that.

• 57:45Connor Wood?

Yeah, or be intentional with it.

• 57:47Brooke Averick?

  Be intentional.

• 57:48Connor Wood?

I'm gonna go out with my film camera and shoot some stuff.

• 57:50Brooke Averick?

  Yeah.

• 57:50Connor Wood?

Don't bring the film camera everywhere. It's not a wallet.

• 57:54Brooke Averick?

  I agree.

• 57:55Connor Wood?

  Yeah.

• 57:55Brooke Averick?

  Yeah.

• 57:56Connor Wood?

I don't think, you know, not every situation requires a film camera. You don't need to bring it to, um, the D M P.

• 58:02Brooke Averick?

Don't just use it willy nilly with reckless abandon. Be intentional. I agree, Connor.

• 58:08Connor Wood?

I had like a spiritual moment with the woman. I went and did my TSA pre-check.

• 58:13Brooke Averick?

  I'm sure you did.

• 58:14Connor Wood?

Interview. We connected on a deep level.

• 58:17Brooke Averick?

  I'm sure you did.

• 58:17Connor Wood?

And I can't stop thinking about her.

• 58:19Brooke Averick?

I'm sure you can't. What happened?

• 58:21Connor Wood?

We were just talking and chatting and she was like, I want to go home so bad. And I was like, oh my gosh.

• 58:26Brooke Averick?

  I get that.

• 58:27Connor Wood?

I was like, me too. Like, I want to go home. And she's like, well, you're going home after this. And I was like, I wanted to be like, I'll break you out of here. Like, let's go.

• 58:34Brooke Averick?

There's nothing worse than trying to connect with someone through like complaining like that. Like, oh, I want to go home. Like, oh, I'm tired. And they're kind of just like, not giving that energy back. That's like slapped the face and a kick in the nuts. Like, I gave you, I reached out to you. I'm extending this like olive branch isn't the right word, but like this opportunity for genuine human connection and you're slapping me across the face.

• 59:03Connor Wood?

I had something like that happen so viscerally my freshman year of college that it stuck with me to this.

• 59:13Brooke Averick?

  What happened?

• 59:14Connor Wood?

I went on a date freshman year.

• 59:16Brooke Averick?

Ugh, I'm sorry that happened to you.

• 59:18Connor Wood?

And we went to Chipotle and.

• 59:21Brooke Averick?

You didn't want to do tea?

• 59:23Connor Wood?

No tea. Sober though. Chipotle. And I was kind of like, yeah, my classes suck. Like, I hate my roommate.

• 59:32Brooke Averick?

  Yeah.

• 59:32Connor Wood?

Shit. And I didn't talk to her ever again.

• 59:36Brooke Averick?

  What was her response?

• 59:38Connor Wood?

Oh, I like my classes. Oh, I love my roommates.

• 59:41Brooke Averick?

  That's not right.

• 59:43Connor Wood?

I go, okay. No, but then I realized that was actually the point that I realized like, no one actually gives a shit about anything that you're saying or complaining about.

• 59:52Brooke Averick?

It's true, but it's just like a nice.

• 59:53Connor Wood?

Unless they can relate to it.

• 59:55Brooke Averick?

Common human decency is just complain back.

• 59:57Connor Wood?

  Like, oh, no.

• 59:58Brooke Averick?

Yeah. That's the least you can do.

• 1:00:01Connor Wood?

Truly, like, if you can't relate to it, at least I don't like be like, well, my life's awesome.

• 1:00:04Brooke Averick?

They're doing you a favor because like, I'm not going to connect with someone who's just like eternally positive like that. It's just not my thing. So I guess thanks for doing me a favor, but like, it's not, it's not a match.

• 1:00:18Connor Wood?

Yeah. Message received. Ooh, Izzy, where are we? Oh, nice.

• 1:00:24Brooke Averick?

  Sixty-six?

• 1:00:25Connor Wood?

  Is this horrible?

• 1:00:26Brooke Averick?

  I don't know.

• 1:00:27Connor Wood?

  Kind of a catch-up.

• 1:00:29Brooke Averick?

  Wait, tell us about Hawaii?

• 1:00:31Connor Wood?

  No, that's kind of it.

• 1:00:32Brooke Averick?

Oh, you went shark diving and posted pictures in the carousel?

• 1:00:35Connor Wood?

  Yeah.

• 1:00:36Brooke Averick?

Well, how was the shark diving?

• 1:00:38Connor Wood?

It was the coolest thing I've ever done. If you're in Hawaii, um, if you're on Oahu, if you want to go shark diving, I, I, um, suggest Island View Hawaii. It's a locally family-owned company. They're great. They're very professional. And they actually, like, talked. So Xavier's girlfriend Fiona came with us. She joined us and she was like, she's Jewish and she's scared of vomiting. She's scared of other people vomiting. She was like, I cannot be on there. I was trying to think of the word. I cannot be on there for the fear of someone else throwing up and then I'll have a panic attack and I'll ruin everybody's time.

• 1:01:13Brooke Averick?

Like, poor girl, I understand so deeply. And I used to be, truly, I used to not do, my life was so limited by Metaphobia, so my heart goes out to her.

• 1:01:24Connor Wood?

Well, so she, basically, I was like, listen, I'm not, I don't get seasick. We can go around. There's only our group and then two other people. Maggie just did the ride along. She was like, I'm not getting in with sharks.

• 1:01:35Brooke Averick?

  Yeah.

• 1:01:35Connor Wood?

Cool, that's fine. Um, went around in a circle. She was like, are you gonna throw up? You gonna throw up? You gonna throw up?

• 1:01:41Brooke Averick?

  I love her.

• 1:01:41Connor Wood?

Everyone was like, no. And then we went out and she was totally fine. She actually dove the deepest down with the sharks.

• 1:01:47Brooke Averick?

  Wow.

• 1:01:48Connor Wood?

She was like, I'm not scared of the sharks. I'm scared of people throwing up.

• 1:01:51Brooke Averick?

I get her, like, I get the back of my own hand.

• 1:01:54Connor Wood?

  Yeah.

• 1:01:55Brooke Averick?

I would rather touch a shark than throw up.

• 1:01:57Connor Wood?

You're gonna be totally safe. She's like, I don't know how to say this to you guys. I'm not nervous about the sharks.

• 1:02:01Brooke Averick?

  Yeah.

• 1:02:02Connor Wood?

I'm nervous of how choppy it's gonna be, if I'm gonna get sick or if someone else is gonna get sick. And then she was totally fine. She's glad she did it. But they are very professional. And if you need to go out, Island View Hawaii on Oahu.

• 1:02:12Brooke Averick?

  Okay, fine.

• 1:02:14Connor Wood?

Um, I'm trying to think if I had anything else monumental that I wanted to talk about. Oh, I want to talk about, I got a massage while I was in Hawaii.

• 1:02:23Brooke Averick?

  Okay.

• 1:02:24Connor Wood?

No, wait. First of all, I got acupuncture for my back because my back started hurting. Coolest thing I've ever done.

• 1:02:29Brooke Averick?

  You got the cupping, no?

• 1:02:30Connor Wood?

They did the cupping, yeah, for, like, they just added on cupping to help find my muscle, I guess. It's one muscle that's down and it's really tight. She started laughing. She goes, this is the tightest back I've ever seen. And I said, like that shit?

• 1:02:42Brooke Averick?

  Hey.

• 1:02:43Connor Wood?

  And, um.

• 1:02:44Brooke Averick?

What if it's really, truly just anxiety in your back?

• 1:02:46Connor Wood?

It is. She said, are you stressed? I go, always. I didn't have Xanax prescription as well.

• 1:02:52Brooke Averick?

I also really think you should explore that, um, ELS. Why can't I never say it? EDS.

• 1:02:59Connor Wood?

Yeah, everyone's been like, you do have that.

• 1:03:01Brooke Averick?

I know, I know. There's back pain, there's like, it's just like, you have so much of it that it's like, might as well get that checked.

• 1:03:08Connor Wood?

I'm gonna get a primary care doctor here.

• 1:03:10Brooke Averick?

  Get a P, C, D.

• 1:03:13Connor Wood?

Oh, I don't even think that they abbreviate that. That's just, I think you just always say.

• 1:03:16Brooke Averick?

  People say, who's your P?

• 1:03:18Connor Wood?

  Who's your P?

• 1:03:19Brooke Averick?

What is it? Who's your PR? P, I think it's PCP, primary care provider. Who's your PCP?

• 1:03:27Connor Wood?

Oh, you're right. Um, and then I got a massage in Hawaii to like loosen up after that. It goes silent in the massage room for about 20 seconds. And then I feel the masseuse on my side and I realize she had, she was, she got up on to me, like standing with her feet on me. And I was like, oh, and my face is in the hole of the table. And I am like, oh, she's standing vertically on my body. And like, she's, she's so tiny, she feels like a ghost on me. So I'm like, enjoy your time up there. I wasn't worried about it. I am not going to be like, what are you doing? You know?

• 1:04:07Connor Wood?

But she's standing completely still, like not moving, just in one part, like my mid back. And I was like,

• 1:04:15Connor Wood?

What's she doing? And then finally she dismounts and didn't, and she went right back to the massage, like went down to my feet, my legs. And then I'm like, okay, what part of the massage? I went out, looked at the description of what I got, cause I was like, okay, my back feels pretty good. She nailed it. Maybe that was like a compression technique. I look at the description, head, shoulders, knees, toes, whatever, like nothing about getting on me. Nothing. And it described everything else. I didn't want to ask, but I think that she was just like changing the fire alarm batteries or something. Cause there was nothing about her being on my back.

• 1:04:50Brooke Averick?

Are you sure it was her feet?

• 1:04:52Connor Wood?

I couldn't, I've never been more sure of something in my life. And the fact that she was not moving, even fidgeting, makes me think that she had something, she was cold.

• 1:05:00Brooke Averick?

Maybe she was activating a pressure point.

• 1:05:04Connor Wood?

I mean, I have no choice but to trust.

• 1:05:05Brooke Averick?

Like I'm putting, just like she needed to put her whole weight.

• 1:05:09Connor Wood?

  I guess.

• 1:05:10Brooke Averick?

  I don't know. Period.

• 1:05:14Connor Wood?

  I don't know either.

• 1:05:15Brooke Averick?

  But that's my guess.

• 1:05:15Connor Wood?

I can't stop thinking about what she was doing up there. She was just like vertically sanding on my back. Go off though.

• 1:05:23Brooke Averick?

That definitely happens in massages, but I don't know about the standing still piece.

• 1:05:26Connor Wood?

Yeah, it was a Swedish massage. Do the Swedes get on your back? Is Swedes a slur?

• 1:05:31Brooke Averick?

Someone will know. No, I think that's fine.

• 1:05:33Connor Wood?

I said masseuse online and someone was like, massage therapist. I'm like, is masseuse a slur?

• 1:05:40Brooke Averick?

  Everything is, I don't know.

• 1:05:43Connor Wood?

I said that out of respect. I,

• 1:05:46Brooke Averick?

I don't know. Best not to talk.

• 1:05:48Connor Wood?

  It's best not to speak.

• 1:05:50Brooke Averick?

On that note, I do want to apologize for like just blurting into like such random jingles and songs today. There is something going on. I think it's like some sort of coping mechanism.

• 1:06:00Connor Wood?

  Or?

• 1:06:00Brooke Averick?

Just like not thinking and instead just like having songs and shit play. And I'm not able to keep them in my mouth and I'm sorry.

• 1:06:07Connor Wood?

I don't, I liked it. It was great.

• 1:06:09Brooke Averick?

I'm just sorry for everyone who didn't.

• 1:06:10Connor Wood?

  Oh.

• 1:06:11Brooke Averick?

  But yeah, anyway.

• 1:06:13Connor Wood?

Well, thanks for joining us today.

Somebody asked me how I'd define myself, and I didn't know what to say. Because how can someone be defined when we're always evolving? I've been so many things.
