• 1:04Connor Wood?

Okay, so I get in the Uber this morning, leaving my hotel, which by the way, we are like six mi- I'm like six miles.

• 1:11Brooke Averick?

Did you just start the podcast?

• 1:12Connor Wood?

  Yeah.

• 1:14Brooke Averick?

  Okay, hi.

• 1:15Connor Wood?

Hey, I mean, we've been sitting here.

• 1:17Brooke Averick?

Yeah, but in silence, so that was like very daring.

• 1:20Connor Wood?

Well, I had to get this out.

• 1:20Brooke Averick?

  Hi, Choo Choo.

• 1:22Connor Wood?

  Hi, Boo Boo.

• 1:24Brooke Averick?

  Okay, go ahead.

• 1:24Connor Wood?

  Okay.

• 1:43Connor Wood?

So I get in my car,

• 1:47Connor Wood?

and my on-demand car, and now I sound rich. Anyways, I get in this car, driver's in the front. Nothing. I have my headphones in, and he goes, "I see you have headphones in."

• 2:02Brooke Averick?

  Thank you.

• 2:03Connor Wood?

Yup. And he goes, "Ugh, yeah, it was raining yesterday." I go, "Okay, I see what we're doing." Talked the whole way. It's actually awesome. I just love the-

• 2:12Brooke Averick?

You can press, I'm not interested in chatting right now.

• 2:14Connor Wood?

I have that selected. I told you the time,

• 2:18Connor Wood?

and this is like the gnarliest story, and I don't want to mess it up, but essentially someone was like-

• 2:23Connor Wood?

Like, did you not wanna, did you see who I was and you didn't wanna talk to me based on my profile? Based on my profile picture? And I was like, oh, and then I like recognized danger. Cause I was already in the car and we were moving. So I said, oh no, I must have selected it on accident. I don't even know how to even do that or undo it. I would have undone it as soon as I saw your picture, actually. Cause you look so, you look like my family.

• 2:46Connor Wood?

But no, it's automatically selected that I don't wanna talk. But then if I see an opportunity for a great conversation, like I'm gonna speak with you.

• 2:53Brooke Averick?

  Interesting.

• 2:54Connor Wood?

  Which is almost every time.

• 2:55Brooke Averick?

  I just like don't.

• 2:56Connor Wood?

  These days.

• 2:56Brooke Averick?

It's just like not an option.

• 2:58Connor Wood?

  To chat.

• 2:58Brooke Averick?

To talk to me. Yeah. You can be like, hi, and I'm just like, thank you. I'm doing headphones.

• 3:07Connor Wood?

Yeah, I'm always like, yeah, sorry.

• 3:09Brooke Averick?

You can't give people an option. Your body language is too open.

• 3:13Connor Wood?

  What do you mean?

• 3:15Brooke Averick?

You just need to shut down.

• 3:17Connor Wood?

  I need to.

• 3:18Brooke Averick?

  Need to power off.

• 3:19Connor Wood?

How can, what body language can I do to?

• 3:21Brooke Averick?

It's just like, you need to just go inward. I'm so good at that.

• 3:25Connor Wood?

  Like with my?

• 3:27Brooke Averick?

  You're just too available.

• 3:29Connor Wood?

  That, that I know.

• 3:31Brooke Averick?

  Yeah.

• 3:32Connor Wood?

Yeah, that I know. That's been, that's like an ongoing.

• 3:34Brooke Averick?

  Yeah, I agree.

• 3:35Connor Wood?

Well, you must have a little bit of that too, because we both get in situations where it's like, what led you to think that, to pull up a chair in a metaphorical way? To, are you strangers?

• 3:47Brooke Averick?

Yeah, maybe a little, but I think like once I, once someone starts with me and I'm not in mood, it's like, there's nothing they can do. I give them nothing.

• 3:55Connor Wood?

You always act like you're the big bad wolf.

• 3:58Brooke Averick?

I don't think it's I'm the, I'm the big bad wolf. It's just like, I don't wanna talk right now.

• 4:03Connor Wood?

But you do, you do stick it out. And especially with people that don't rec, don't take hints, like they will keep.

• 4:09Brooke Averick?

You say that, but I don't think you're really paying attention.

• 4:15Brooke Averick?

  Cause that's not the case.

• 4:16Connor Wood?

  Is it not the case?

• 4:18Brooke Averick?

I don't think so. It's not my understanding.

• 4:20Connor Wood?

Maybe you're, maybe you're, maybe you can't see it from the, the outside your body. Maybe you're not having it out of body like I am.

• 4:26Brooke Averick?

Cause you're really the only one that says that. Everyone else is like, you've got to try a little harder.

• 4:33Connor Wood?

Well, yeah, there's situations where I'm like, yeah, you gotta like put a little bit more into it.

• 4:38Brooke Averick?

  Which is so fair.

• 4:39Connor Wood?

Because then I'm, cause like we'll be in situations and I'll, I'll have to go double.

• 4:43Brooke Averick?

  Yeah, exactly.

• 4:44Connor Wood?

  And my battery is running.

• 4:45Brooke Averick?

Yeah, people don't like when they have to go double mode and that's usually when I get, you have to just try. And I'm like, that's so fair.

• 4:52Connor Wood?

I wish I could think of an, can you think of an example where you went zero and I went, I went hero?

• 4:56Brooke Averick?

There, I feel like it's all the time.

• 4:58Connor Wood?

  Really?

• 4:58Brooke Averick?

  Yeah, I do.

• 5:02Brooke Averick?

But I appreciate you thinking otherwise.

• 5:05Connor Wood?

Yeah, cause sometimes you're like, I can't fake it. I'm like, you do fake it though. Sometimes you don't.

• 5:09Brooke Averick?

Yeah, we'll have to, we'll clock in next time something like that happens, but.

• 5:13Connor Wood?

We'll have to clock in next time something like that happens.

• 5:14Brooke Averick?

I definitely feel like, cause I had to be like so social these past two weekends, cause I was at two weddings. I was noticing like I was giving zero in a lot of situations.

• 5:25Connor Wood?

  Oh no.

• 5:25Brooke Averick?

Yeah. And I'm trying to be a lot better about it. Because I told you something that made me like so sad was one of, who's someone who's now my good friend was like when you, when I first met you, I like really thought you hated me. Cause you were doing zero and I was like, that's so sad. That's so heartbreaking to me. And it's not that I, I just like, I don't even know what to do. It's not like I don't want to talk to you. It's like, I am. It's just so hard for me.

• 5:52Connor Wood?

  Do you know that?

• 5:52Brooke Averick?

But I need to try harder.

• 5:53Connor Wood?

No one ever in my entire life has said, when I first met you, I thought you hated me. And I will walk away from someone and be like, I, that's the worst person I've ever met in my life and they'll never know.

• 6:03Brooke Averick?

  Oh yeah.

• 6:04Connor Wood?

Cause I was like, you have to come hang out. I might have, you may be spending the night.

• 6:07Brooke Averick?

No, that's something I don't like about myself and it's, that's my 2026. All right. Well, you know what? Let's start now. I'm just gonna start trying to be really friendly.

• 6:16Connor Wood?

Yeah, the, the construct of a, of a map or, um, of a map of time. What is it? A calendar?

• 6:22Brooke Averick?

Yeah. Yeah, that's true. I might just, we'll start now. Yeah. Starting now, I'm about to just change my personality.

• 6:28Connor Wood?

Yeah. And I'm gonna take a little bit of yours.

• 6:30Brooke Averick?

  Yeah.

• 6:30Connor Wood?

Because there's no reason I should be giving my phone number to anyone who asks.

• 6:34Brooke Averick?

Right. Yeah. I wish we, I wish there was a middle ground. I really do.

• 6:39Connor Wood?

  I think that there is.

• 6:40Brooke Averick?

I wish we could find it.

• 6:41Connor Wood?

I don't know where it is.

• 6:42Brooke Averick?

I wish we could find it.

• 6:43Connor Wood?

I don't know where it is, but there's surely a middle ground. If there's a, if there's a, if there's this side of the road and there's that side of the road.

• 6:49Brooke Averick?

There's got to be the middle of the road where we could lie down and just hope for the best.

• 6:52Connor Wood?

And maybe a car hits us.

• 6:55Connor Wood?

Hey, so we went to Dancing with the Stars last night.

• 6:59Brooke Averick?

Yeah, we, we had a family matter to attend to.

• 7:02Connor Wood?

  We did.

• 7:05Connor Wood?

Why don't you kick us out?

• 7:05Brooke Averick?

I just want, like, it's like, being an Efron has been the honor of a lifetime.

• 7:11Connor Wood?

  Right.

• 7:12Brooke Averick?

It's been the honor and privilege of a lifetime.

• 7:13Connor Wood?

  Totally.

• 7:14Brooke Averick?

And the fact that I, I made that choice at nine years old, 10 years old and said, I'm gonna be an Efron for life, à la Lady Efron, and it's stuck with me in the most amazingly transformative way.

• 7:28Connor Wood?

  Yeah.

• 7:29Brooke Averick?

I wish I could go back to my 10-year-old self creating my AOL account and say, "Thank you. Thank you and good job, and you are making the best decision that anyone's ever made."

• 7:40Connor Wood?

I'm not like pro this at all, but maybe, maybe you do need to use that AI tool that gives you, you now with your little baby self and say, "Hey, little girl, thanks."

• 7:49Brooke Averick?

I want to, but I don't want to get in trouble or hurt the environment.

• 7:52Connor Wood?

  Yeah, I don't, like, there's no reason.

• 7:53Brooke Averick?

But I want to. But please know that I want to.

• 7:58Brooke Averick?

Please know, please know I'm craving it.

• 8:01Connor Wood?

Just know, one redwood can fall.

• 8:03Brooke Averick?

Maybe an artist can do that.

• 8:05Connor Wood?

100% a small, a small, maybe someone on Etsy.

• 8:08Brooke Averick?

Yeah. Which, by the way, I did get an Etsy spell a few months ago, and she did say I would find the love of my life pretty quickly. And, um, maybe it's coming, but it hasn't yet.

• 8:25Brooke Averick?

So that's just something to think about with Etsy witches. It was a personalized, it was a human that I spoke to.

• 8:35Brooke Averick?

So it's just something to think about, maybe it doesn't work for everyone.

• 8:38Connor Wood?

No, and mm-mm, no, I wanna say it.

• 8:41Brooke Averick?

  Say it.

• 8:43Connor Wood?

  Maybe there's opportunities

• 8:48Connor Wood?

  that you're overlooking.

• 8:49Brooke Averick?

You need to start reacting to things in the way that I need you to and want you to.

• 8:54Connor Wood?

Well, no, we wouldn't have a podcast if I was just like...

• 8:57Brooke Averick?

We would, okay, when we're off of the podcast?

• 9:00Connor Wood?

Okay, well, you have to give a specific.

• 9:03Brooke Averick?

Okay, I have been on the receiving end of some insane behavior from an individual.

• 9:10Connor Wood?

  Okay.

• 9:11Brooke Averick?

And I explained to Connor, I'm receiving insane behavior from this individual.

• 9:18Brooke Averick?

And he said, "You just need to go for it."

• 9:22Brooke Averick?

And I was like, "Connor, this individual is like in psychosis." And projecting that onto me and my person. And he said, "You're just not taking the opportunities that are being thrown at you." And I'm just like, "You, I'm gonna, like, they're gonna, this person's gonna kill me." And Connor's like, "Just go for it, man."

• 9:46Brooke Averick?

And it's like, just, why aren't you just like seeing what I'm saying and telling me like what I want and need to hear that this person is insane?

• 9:55Connor Wood?

I slept in dog poop. That's what I'm saying, okay.

• 10:00Brooke Averick?

Were those the shoes from last night?

• 10:01Connor Wood?

  Yeah.

• 10:02Brooke Averick?

Okay, yeah, we, so yeah, you did.

• 10:08Connor Wood?

So, yeah, I don't know how to, okay. I just think that...

• 10:14Brooke Averick?

Without getting into the specifics of the situation.

• 10:16Connor Wood?

  Yeah, I think that, um...

• 10:24Connor Wood?

  I don't think it's necessarily psychosis.

• 10:26Brooke Averick?

I'm telling you it's confirmed psychosis.

• 10:29Connor Wood?

By who? Who confirmed the psy...

• 10:30Brooke Averick?

Multiple people that know this person, including myself.

• 10:37Brooke Averick?

I'm telling you it's psychosis, I'm telling you it's been activated, and I'm telling you that it's being projected onto me.

• 10:43Connor Wood?

Okay, so you didn't ask the Etsy witch, can you send me someone that's sane? That like, maybe you do need to be specific about timing and sanity.

• 10:50Brooke Averick?

  It's implied.

• 10:52Connor Wood?

Oh, you can't say that to an Etsy witch, nothing's implied to an Etsy witch.

• 10:55Brooke Averick?

Connor's literally telling me to like, go for it with someone who's gonna like, whack me upside the head with a shovel.

• 11:03Brooke Averick?

  It's like.

• 11:06Connor Wood?

Why not? Why not? Have some fun.

• 11:08Brooke Averick?

I just want you to like commiserate with me sometimes be like, oh yeah, this is insane.

• 11:12Connor Wood?

  I mean.

• 11:12Brooke Averick?

Meanwhile, he's like pushing back like, like this is the hill he's dying on like, no.

• 11:16Connor Wood?

I'm not dying on the hill.

• 11:18Brooke Averick?

You were dying on it last night.

• 11:19Connor Wood?

  Completely hiking.

• 11:19Brooke Averick?

You were dying on it last night.

• 11:20Connor Wood?

  I'm completely hiking up and.

• 11:21Brooke Averick?

I was showing Connor some messages that I received that I was like, this isn't okay. And he was like, that's amazing.

• 11:28Connor Wood?

  I didn't read it.

• 11:30Brooke Averick?

  Well, that then like, yeah.

• 11:32Connor Wood?

Well, you'd flash it at me, which means there I think that there might be some gold in there, maybe something. Anyways.

• 11:38Brooke Averick?

  Anyways.

• 11:39Connor Wood?

  You, you want to know.

• 11:40Brooke Averick?

Need to work on just like.

• 11:42Connor Wood?

  Empathizing.

• 11:44Brooke Averick?

  Yeah.

• 11:44Connor Wood?

  The thing is like.

• 11:47Connor Wood?

  I'm all.

• 11:47Brooke Averick?

You did step in dog poop, didn't you?

• 11:49Connor Wood?

Yeah. I'll move, I'll remove the shoe. How's that? And I have my socks on.

• 11:54Brooke Averick?

It's always the vans, isn't it? They absorb.

• 11:57Connor Wood?

  The poop?

• 11:58Brooke Averick?

Yeah. Where I had to leave my vans outside your house that one time.

• 12:01Connor Wood?

  Oh, yeah. I remember that.

• 12:04Connor Wood?

You stay there. Um, yeah. Um, these socks, by the way.

• 12:11Connor Wood?

  There is no more.

• 12:14Connor Wood?

Humbling human experience than going through TSA and they go, remove your shoes. And I go, please, sir. You, I, I have no show.

• 12:22Brooke Averick?

  I'm doing no shows.

• 12:23Connor Wood?

I look like a traveling nurse. I cannot.

• 12:24Brooke Averick?

You don't have to remove your shoes anymore.

• 12:26Connor Wood?

Now you say that, but then every airport is so different now. It's like, should I take my laptop out? And the TSA person goes, no, moron, leave your laptop. What the hell? Why'd you even ask?

• 12:36Brooke Averick?

That, that is airport by airport and security station by security station. But shoes, I think is now like with the real ID you keep your shoes on. Also, we needed, we do need to talk about Dancing with the Stars.

• 12:48Connor Wood?

  Yeah. Um.

• 12:49Brooke Averick?

  Instead of no show socks.

• 12:52Connor Wood?

  Okay.

• 12:53Brooke Averick?

  What an amazing.

• 12:55Connor Wood?

  Yeah.

• 12:55Brooke Averick?

Wonderful experience. It was dedication week, which means that every performer dedicated their dance to someone special.

• 13:04Connor Wood?

  Right.

• 13:05Brooke Averick?

So our pal Dylan dedicated it to his little sister, Olivia, which was so magical. This is my family on the screen. She's like the most precious little girl I've ever seen in my entire life.

• 13:17Connor Wood?

She was such a. An angel, like literally, this is who they model angels after.

• 13:23Brooke Averick?

  Yeah.

• 13:24Connor Wood?

  That young woman.

• 13:24Brooke Averick?

She was an angel. Um, I cried at Dylan's. I cried at, um, Robert Irwin.

• 13:30Connor Wood?

  Mm hmm.

• 13:31Brooke Averick?

Who, by the way, I, I understand he's Australian, but he is also America's sweetheart.

• 13:37Connor Wood?

There's no reason he should be 21 years old. Like that is, that was a sickening realization.

• 13:41Brooke Averick?

  It's, that's unreasonable.

• 13:43Connor Wood?

For, for his level of maturity and just like.

• 13:48Brooke Averick?

  His presence.

• 13:48Connor Wood?

  Almost like, almost like saint-esque.

• 13:52Brooke Averick?

  Saint.

• 13:52Connor Wood?

Da- Gandhi-esque eloquence and the way he speaks, the way he understands and the way he. Like I saw, he hugged every single contestant.

• 14:03Brooke Averick?

Can I say something that might be controversial?

• 14:05Connor Wood?

  Oh, yeah.

• 14:06Brooke Averick?

Like obviously, like no kings, except for like if, if Robert Irwin wanted to be the king of the United States of America. Yeah.

• 14:17Connor Wood?

I'm not going to stand in his way.

• 14:18Brooke Averick?

Who am I to stand in his way?

• 14:20Connor Wood?

  That would be.

• 14:20Brooke Averick?

He literally like I, like there isn't, like he is perfection personified in human form. Which is what personified means.

• 14:31Connor Wood?

  No, yeah, no, no, yeah.

• 14:32Brooke Averick?

But it's ridiculous, just like the way he carries himself. He's an elegant man.

• 14:40Connor Wood?

  Absolutely.

• 14:41Brooke Averick?

He carries himself with such grace and poise and humility.

• 14:44Connor Wood?

  Class.

• 14:45Brooke Averick?

  And class.

• 14:47Connor Wood?

Yes. He, it was, it was fabulous. And yeah, everyone was crying. It was crazy.

• 14:52Brooke Averick?

Yeah. And what, so like the way that he trans, so he was dancing with his partner and then, oh, to you'll be in my heart by Phil Collins. Like no one, there's already tears beyond, but we like couldn't see the camera work. So we couldn't really see the transition that took place on the camera. Did you see how the dance ended up?

• 15:13Connor Wood?

  No.

• 15:13Brooke Averick?

It was like, he was dancing with his partner and then there was like, it like zoomed in and then when it zoomed out, it was him and his mom. Which like, we couldn't really see that transition.

• 15:21Connor Wood?

  Wow, that's so.

• 15:22Brooke Averick?

  It was so gorgeous.

• 15:23Connor Wood?

  I see, I see, I see.

• 15:24Brooke Averick?

Yeah. I was just like, oh my God. Someone else made me cry. Oh, Meredith Blake.

• 15:31Connor Wood?

  The power of female friendship.

• 15:33Brooke Averick?

The power of female friendship really got me.

• 15:36Connor Wood?

Yeah, that was cool. Meredith Blake.

• 15:38Brooke Averick?

And Dennis Quaid, just like watching with a tear in his eye from the sidelines.

• 15:41Connor Wood?

Dennis Quaid absolutely just sat right there on the sidelines. Yeah, I mean, everything was, everybody was really good. Dylan, Dylan's pure raw athleticism last night had me, I made a noise that I wasn't supposed to make probably at a dance competition. Like something you would probably say for like a football game in a stadium.

• 16:05Connor Wood?

I made a loud noise, but I like, it was just, it's what came out because of how impressive. He lifted her up and spun around. It was just like, so I don't understand dance. I was telling, like, I think I was telling you this or someone last night.

• 16:21Connor Wood?

That was the first dance. I was like, okay, yeah, that's, that was really good. That was good dancing. Besides like athleticism.

• 16:28Brooke Averick?

Yeah, I also don't understand dance and yet I was moved last night.

• 16:32Connor Wood?

The thing that I don't get about dance and Dancing with the Stars is like, I don't get why every, see, I think it should all be graded on the same scale. Across the board. I think that would be kind of hard based on like, skill level.

• 16:45Brooke Averick?

You mean you think Andy Richter and like Alex Earl should be graded in the same way?

• 16:50Connor Wood?

Well, okay, if, if they're gonna be competing against each other, then I think that it should be all waltz one week and all cha-cha the next week and all. What's, what's the one that a lot of people did?

• 17:01Brooke Averick?

  Be graded on a curve.

• 17:02Connor Wood?

  What's, he is being graded.

• 17:04Brooke Averick?

  No, I know. I think that's fair.

• 17:05Connor Wood?

What, um, when they're doing this and they're like, the waves.

• 17:09Brooke Averick?

Cause it's about equity, not equality.

• 17:11Connor Wood?

  Yes. Oh, contemporary.

• 18:09Connor Wood?

So like I think one week should be for each dance. And so last night I was kind of losing it because I was like really into like, like someone comes out and does like a

• 18:18Brooke Averick?

  I see what you're saying.

• 18:19Connor Wood?

A jig and then someone comes out and does contemporary and then we're crying and then we're laughing. And that's nice to break it up, but like, I guess like if you really were into dance and you could

• 18:27Brooke Averick?

You'd get really bored if everyone was doing the same dance.

• 18:30Connor Wood?

You're right. I just, I said it out loud and then I got there myself.

• 18:33Brooke Averick?

  Yeah.

• 18:34Connor Wood?

  Yeah.

• 18:35Brooke Averick?

  So I think that's, that's that.

• 18:37Connor Wood?

  It's pure entertainment.

• 18:38Brooke Averick?

  Yeah.

• 18:38Connor Wood?

I was saying last night when you're in this room and there's this production happening, there is like 400 people working this facility. People plugging things in, people unplugging things, people sweeping the floor, people holding an extension cord. And then I was thinking about it, it's like

• 18:56Brooke Averick?

You were really moved by this.

• 18:57Connor Wood?

I was like, wow, everyone has a purpose in this room and they were moving with such grease. Like, I don't know how to say it. It was smooth.

• 19:07Brooke Averick?

  The gears were greased.

• 19:08Connor Wood?

The gears were greased. And it was like everyone knew where they're supposed to be. And then I was like, it's crazy that everyone's doing this for a one hour show so that someone is, can get home from the office, put on their cozies, sit on the couch and be entertained.

• 19:24Brooke Averick?

  Show business.

• 19:25Connor Wood?

Like that's so fascinating to me that this is all just for enter- so that someone can unwind and watch a little bit of dance. That's really cool.

• 19:33Brooke Averick?

  Mm-hmm.

• 19:35Connor Wood?

  Entertainment's important for the world.

• 19:38Brooke Averick?

  Yeah, it is. It is.

• 19:40Connor Wood?

  Anyways.

• 19:41Brooke Averick?

  Anyways.

• 19:42Connor Wood?

That was awesome. Alex, I was so impressed with. I loved that dance.

• 19:47Brooke Averick?

Did she dance like before this?

• 19:50Connor Wood?

  I don't think so.

• 19:51Brooke Averick?

Or was she like a cheerleader or something?

• 19:53Speaker 01

  She danced.

• 19:54Brooke Averick?

She danced, yeah. That I don't understand, and also Meredith from Parent Trap 2, like, I don't understand how you can have like people who danced on the same show as like Andy Richter.

• 20:06Connor Wood?

  Like Charli D'Amelio last year.

• 20:07Brooke Averick?

Right, I don't think, wait, was Charli on it?

• 20:10Connor Wood?

  Yeah.

• 20:10Brooke Averick?

Like, I don't think you can have dance, I don't get that. Not that I don't think they should be on the show, but I also don't get it.

• 20:15Connor Wood?

I think we might be looking into it further than anyone's ever looked into it.

• 20:18Brooke Averick?

I just don't get, like, they have to grade it on a curve if they're gonna have dancers on the show and then completely like people who have two left feet.

• 20:29Connor Wood?

I didn't know if she was the dancer or the star.

• 20:31Brooke Averick?

Right. And she was the dancer.

• 20:34Connor Wood?

  She was the star.

• 20:36Brooke Averick?

  That's what I meant.

• 20:37Connor Wood?

  I understood what you meant.

• 20:38Brooke Averick?

  Yeah.

• 20:39Connor Wood?

But she's both the dancer and the star in this case.

• 20:41Brooke Averick?

  Yeah.

• 20:42Connor Wood?

  So I don't really understand.

• 20:43Brooke Averick?

I don't either. I know, it's, again, it's about, they need to be grading on the curve.

• 20:48Connor Wood?

I haven't been talking to the mic basically at all. Am I picking up? Okay, sorry. I'm gonna be more mindful, although my mic has gone limp.

• 20:57Brooke Averick?

I turned to Connor and asked last night who he would dedicate his dance to.

• 21:03Connor Wood?

And she was like, "Your dad, right?" And I was like, "Yo, yeah, my dad." And I was like, "What about you?" And you said "Mama," and then, and then I go, "Hmm," and we both sat in silence, and she goes, "Maybe my cats?" And then I go, "Probably my phone."

• 21:21Brooke Averick?

And then I had this vision of like Connor's phone being like descending from the ceiling, like on these like wires.

• 21:28Connor Wood?

  Angel wings.

• 21:28Brooke Averick?

Angel wings. And then him like doing this like beautiful scrolling movement with it.

• 21:35Brooke Averick?

Well, now you're definitely not talking into the mic.

• 21:37Connor Wood?

Oh, I receive it. The mic's over here. I receive it, it comes down.

• 21:42Brooke Averick?

Yeah. Ooh, that's gonna, that's gonna break, that's gonna break.

• 21:49Brooke Averick?

Yeah. They all ended in like a fetal position on the floor. I'd love to see that with you and your phone.

• 21:57Brooke Averick?

Also, speaking of my cats, I realized this weekend at weddings that they are gonna be participants.

• 22:05Connor Wood?

Are you gonna attach the rings to them or something?

• 22:07Brooke Averick?

Um, they'll be like at the altar.

• 22:11Connor Wood?

  On leashes or huh?

• 22:12Brooke Averick?

They'll be like, they're like step ups from the ring bearers.

• 22:17Connor Wood?

New set, I accidentally just opened.

• 22:19Brooke Averick?

  New set, new set.

• 22:20Connor Wood?

Um, the ring bearers, so you will attach the rings to them?

• 22:23Brooke Averick?

No, they're gonna be like the best men.

• 22:28Connor Wood?

  So they'll be sitting there?

• 22:29Brooke Averick?

Or they will be the ministers. No, they'll be in a stroller, an enclosed stroller.

• 22:38Brooke Averick?

Hmm, Rob doesn't need an enclosed stroller, he'll just be there, but Jay Marie will be in an enclosure.

• 22:48Connor Wood?

  Um, that's actually fun, I don't think I've seen a cat in a wedding.

• 22:51Brooke Averick?

Yeah, there, this one, there will be two.

• 22:55Connor Wood?

Uh, you know what, I've been to two weddings that have had a lamba, llama.

• 23:01Connor Wood?

Could not remember the name of that animal.

• 23:02Brooke Averick?

  Lamba.

• 23:04Connor Wood?

It went in doubt, had a B.

• 23:06Brooke Averick?

  Wait, speaking of lamba.

• 23:08Connor Wood?

  Yeah.

• 23:09Brooke Averick?

  Carrie Anne.

• 23:11Connor Wood?

  Okay.

• 23:12Brooke Averick?

  What is it, Anaba?

• 23:14Connor Wood?

  Anaba.

• 23:14Brooke Averick?

  I kept saying Anada.

• 23:15Connor Wood?

Yeah, it went in doubt, had a B.

• 23:17Brooke Averick?

  Yeah.

• 23:17Connor Wood?

So Carrie Anne, especially this week, save it.

• 23:22Brooke Averick?

They, I don't think that they should be, hmm.

• 23:26Connor Wood?

It's just like this, this week specifically, it's like, I'm thinking like, the whole time I'm like, well, uh, obviously they have, imagine the shitstorm that would brew if someone gave the dance a true score, who I can't even, I'm not thinking of a specific person, someone goes four after they just said, "This is dedicated to some, my family member that passed away." It's like you would get, that'd be a PR nightmare for a judge to give that. And then I realized this week was kind of like. Purely a PR week and that like it was just a sweet moment and it was kind of like a bye week. Like everyone passed, no one eliminated.

• 24:03Brooke Averick?

Right. What we're saying is that every time one of the judges would like critique the dancers, I was just like, that's so mean.

• 24:12Connor Wood?

Brooke was like, that wasn't necessary.

• 24:14Brooke Averick?

It wasn't. I just, I didn't feel like it was necessary. This, but then I'm like, maybe I, they should get a written summary. I just don't feel like.

• 24:23Connor Wood?

She, I mean, she got booed.

• 24:24Brooke Averick?

I don't want to hear it.

• 24:25Connor Wood?

When did she get booed by the whole?

• 24:26Brooke Averick?

  She got really booed by.

• 24:29Connor Wood?

  She got booed.

• 24:30Brooke Averick?

  She got booed for Topanga.

• 24:32Connor Wood?

I feel like I'm watching the same dance each week. Yeah.

• 24:34Brooke Averick?

  I booed.

• 24:35Connor Wood?

I booed too. We, I think he booed, she booed, we, she, we all booed.

• 24:41Brooke Averick?

I understand that. Yeah. I guess the critique is necessary for improvement, but does it have to be? Done. I guess it does. I don't like it though. I think the two things can be true. I don't like it and maybe it's necessary, but I don't like it.

• 24:56Connor Wood?

I want to share something that was just like the most unbelievable thing to me. There's a man in the room that tells everybody when to clap.

• 25:03Brooke Averick?

Oh yeah. You didn't care for the guy.

• 25:06Connor Wood?

Did not care for him. Um, I'm going to pull it up. Just one clip of him telling us when to clap. It's the, it's like the most.

• 25:21Connor Wood?

I've just never seen anything like.

• 25:23Brooke Averick?

  That's a hype man.

• 25:24Connor Wood?

  I, but he was like.

• 25:28Connor Wood?

I mean, it was just like, almost like animatronic. I guess that's something that I didn't like, but is necessary.

• 25:33Brooke Averick?

Yeah. They do that at all. The like, uh, late night show tapings and stuff. There's always a hype man.

• 25:37Connor Wood?

What happened to the sign that says laugh?

• 25:40Brooke Averick?

Um, personable than some of the other hype men that I know and love.

• 25:43Connor Wood?

  Yeah.

• 25:44Brooke Averick?

But Jimmy Kimmel hype man's a really fun, fun time.

• 25:48Connor Wood?

  Is he?

• 25:49Brooke Averick?

  I think you like him.

• 25:52Connor Wood?

I wouldn't know. I would not know. Um, oh my gosh, I had something else.

• 25:59Brooke Averick?

  About D W T S?

• 26:01Connor Wood?

Yeah. Hmm, I don't know. Anyways, that was really fun. That was like a good experience.

• 26:06Brooke Averick?

  It was.

• 26:08Connor Wood?

  And I loved our seats.

• 26:10Brooke Averick?

Me too. I'm being like genuinely, once we figured out how, there was a pretty fairly massive obstruction.

• 26:18Connor Wood?

  Pretty much a wall.

• 26:19Brooke Averick?

There, yeah. But once you, we figured out how to navigate it, it was fun.

• 26:25Connor Wood?

Well, there was no like, it was, I thought like, see, I thought it was gonna be a little bit more strict about RE, standing, sitting, leaning.

• 26:31Brooke Averick?

We could just lean over the.

• 26:32Connor Wood?

I was leaning over the balcony like it was.

• 26:33Brooke Averick?

And that was fine. And that honestly, that it was a great seat once we did that.

• 26:38Connor Wood?

Totally fine. If nothing else, someone was like, this kind of thing only happens to you guys, but so that you have something to talk about on the podcast. And I was like, and I'm grateful for that. Cause we literally were laughing and on site. It was on site with that wall.

• 26:54Brooke Averick?

  It was on site.

• 26:54Connor Wood?

  Yeah.

• 26:55Brooke Averick?

I did, there was like a solid 45 minutes when we like found out we were going, where I was like, well, Zach is gonna be there.

• 27:03Connor Wood?

  Oh, yeah.

• 27:04Brooke Averick?

Because it's, they're dancing to Rewrite the Stars, which, do you know that song by the way?

• 27:07Connor Wood?

  Yeah.

• 27:08Brooke Averick?

Okay. It's so freaking incredible. Um, and I was like, oh, he's gonna be there, like his little sister's in it, whatever. And I was talking out loud to myself, like practicing what I was gonna say for 45 and um, he wasn't there, which was for the best. This, that's not what last night was about at all. But I will say.

• 27:27Connor Wood?

  It was about Big D.

• 27:28Brooke Averick?

It was about D. Um, uh, Mr. Efron Senior was there, which is just like, what, I can't believe the lineage he's created.

• 27:38Connor Wood?

  Mm hmm.

• 27:41Brooke Averick?

And wow, I couldn't, I couldn't really tear my eyes away.

• 27:49Brooke Averick?

Just like what a, what an accomplishment. What an accomplished man to be able to create something like that. Like the Efron family legacy. Thanks.

• 28:03Connor Wood?

  Well said.

• 28:04Brooke Averick?

  Thank you.

• 28:06Connor Wood?

  I agree.

• 28:08Brooke Averick?

It's just an amazing, it's just an amazing family.

• 28:12Connor Wood?

You're part of it. Oh, that was so sweet. We got to, obviously, like hug our, hug our brother last night.

• 28:20Brooke Averick?

Yeah, I, I, I just freaking love that family. Almost brings me to tears.

• 28:27Connor Wood?

I see them kind of starting to.

• 28:29Brooke Averick?

  To form?

• 28:30Connor Wood?

  To form.

• 28:32Brooke Averick?

We can move on. I just love them.

• 28:35Connor Wood?

  Me too.

• 28:35Brooke Averick?

Like, truly filled with nothing but, like, just pure, unadulterated love for my family. And I can't wait to meet my other brother one day.

• 28:44Connor Wood?

And you will. I'm sure it's like right around the corner. Um, he might even sit here one day with us.

• 28:51Brooke Averick?

No, but you know who, like, could sit here? That I was thinking of? Robert.

• 28:58Connor Wood?

Yeah, I think Robert would. I think he would love to come. Robert, please. If you're watching.

• 29:07Connor Wood?

  Sit on her lap.

• 29:09Brooke Averick?

  Connor.

• 29:10Connor Wood?

  Sit on my lap.

• 29:12Brooke Averick?

Connor. He can sit on the Kelly Clarkson. He might not want to come if you ask him to sit on your lap.

• 29:19Connor Wood?

Okay, you don't have to sit on, I, I just think that, like, he'll think it's funny, you know, talking about laps.

• 29:25Brooke Averick?

  I don't, we don't know him yet.

• 29:26Connor Wood?

  I know him well.

• 29:30Connor Wood?

I went to Royal Otis this week, Royal Otis this weekend. That was the most fun concert I've ever been to. That's my second time seeing them.

• 29:37Brooke Averick?

  Wow.

• 29:38Connor Wood?

I haven't had, like, a community experience in a crowd like that. Like, I, I could have kissed everyone in my vicinity on the mouth, people I don't know.

• 29:46Brooke Averick?

  That's really sweet.

• 29:47Connor Wood?

It was just, like, so awesome. Knew every song, was singing.

• 29:52Connor Wood?

I, we were kind of the section that was, like, jumping around singing, knowing every song. Otherwise, the crowd was kind of like... It was one of those concerts where, like, you have your arm over someone's shoulder and you're kind of, like, swaying. And I'm embarrassed thinking back that I did do that. I participated in, like, the arm over, you know, like, kind of swaying and singing, "Ooh, that hurts."

• 30:13Brooke Averick?

It's okay. It's, it's over with. It happened.

• 30:15Connor Wood?

But it was like, I'm actually like, I listen to them. Have you ever gone to a concert and then you listen to the music after the concert and you're, like, genuinely physically depressed?

• 30:23Brooke Averick?

  Of course.

• 30:24Connor Wood?

  I'm like, I, I was so-

• 30:25Brooke Averick?

Post-concert depression needs to be in the DSM five. I don't know if that's the most updated version, but it needs to be in one of, in the most updated version of the DSM.

• 30:35Connor Wood?

It's just, I think it's just typical, like you go on a vacation and then you think about, if you go to like-

• 30:41Brooke Averick?

Post, no, post-concert depression is like a very different, like very acute feeling, because it's like, you can go on another vacation, but you can't go back to the 1975 at the Hollywood Bowl in 2023.

• 30:54Connor Wood?

You're, that's right. I bought merch too. Now I got the merch, I, I put it on the bathroom crop top.

• 31:02Connor Wood?

Stomachs out. I got an extra large, too. Stomachs out. I wore it. Belly button out.

• 31:09Connor Wood?

But it was, it was so good. Oh my gosh.

• 31:12Brooke Averick?

  That's great.

• 31:12Connor Wood?

And it was also, it was like a fantastic night, like weather-wise, and it was up on the river-

• 31:21Brooke Averick?

  Wow.

• 31:21Connor Wood?

  On a rooftop, open air.

• 31:22Brooke Averick?

  Wow.

• 31:23Connor Wood?

And the next night, they played again, rained.

• 31:26Brooke Averick?

I saw that they got moved.

• 31:27Connor Wood?

  Yeah, so sad.

• 31:28Brooke Averick?

Yeah, there was big talks of like a big storm on the east coast and I had a travel alert for my flight.

• 31:35Connor Wood?

  Yeah.

• 31:36Brooke Averick?

And like I was beside myself, like thinking of like not being able to get home, but everything was completely fine and untouched.

• 31:44Connor Wood?

  Um-

• 31:44Brooke Averick?

  By the Veronicas.

• 31:47Connor Wood?

  What's that?

• 31:48Brooke Averick?

  That song.

• 31:51Brooke Averick?

  I feel so untouched.

• 31:56Connor Wood?

  Yeah, it's a-

• 31:56Brooke Averick?

Yeah, it's a great one, yeah.

• 31:57Connor Wood?

Um, yeah, the, the nor'easter came through.

• 32:00Brooke Averick?

  Yeah.

• 32:00Connor Wood?

Almost knocked me clear out, blew my legs off.

• 32:03Brooke Averick?

  Did it?

• 32:04Connor Wood?

Yeah. And it was not even on Sunday, it was Monday.

• 32:06Brooke Averick?

I thought they were just like talk, like it was all talk.

• 32:08Connor Wood?

No, it was out of nowhere, just like,

• 32:12Connor Wood?

like gust of wind comes by, hat gone. I'm like, you know that, that kid in that video, that old video, he's like-

• 32:21Brooke Averick?

  No, I don't know him.

• 32:23Connor Wood?

Do you know what I'm talking about?

• 32:26Connor Wood?

No, not even him. Not even him, but yeah, no, there's one where like the wind's blowing through and this kid's like-

• 32:34Connor Wood?

Yep, that's him. That's me. That was during the nor'easter, trying to cross the street. That is one of my favorites.

• 32:42Brooke Averick?

Is it called a nor'easter because it takes place usually in the northeast?

• 32:46Connor Wood?

I would say so, yeah. I don't think you have a nor'easter in Louisiana. Me trying to think of one state, for a dollar, name one state, Louisiana.

• 32:58Brooke Averick?

For me, that's New Orleans, like, in the same way that Illinois, Chicago. Like, those are the two states that I'm like, you're just, I will call you what your city, what your biggest city is, because the storm brings powerful winds that blow from the northeast along the east coast of North America. Nice.

• 33:14Connor Wood?

  That's awesome.

• 33:17Brooke Averick?

  Oh, it's actually nor'easter.

• 33:22Connor Wood?

Happy Easter. He is risen. Um, so, do you want to hear something funny that happened?

• 33:29Brooke Averick?

  Sure.

• 33:31Connor Wood?

So on Sunday, I was, we were watching football, heard of it, and...

• 33:37Brooke Averick?

  American?

• 33:38Connor Wood?

Yes, not footy, footy. Um, and I was leaving because I was gonna go to dinner, and I was like, alright, I'm gonna go to dinner, and Hunter was like, oh, is it for like a brand thing? And I go, no, it's for survival, to eat, it's because I'm hungry. That scared me. That put the fear of God into me, that someone was asking if I was gonna go eat to, so that I wouldn't die, and if it was a brand thing.

• 34:05Brooke Averick?

  Well...

• 34:05Connor Wood?

Where are we going, you know? How did we get here where someone's asking if like, my next meal is a brand thing?

• 34:12Brooke Averick?

Well, you said, like, when you say, "I'm going to dinner," I think of going out to a restaurant. Is that what you were doing?

• 34:18Connor Wood?

I was going out to a restaurant.

• 34:19Brooke Averick?

  By yourself?

• 34:20Connor Wood?

  No.

• 34:21Brooke Averick?

  With others?

• 34:21Connor Wood?

  Yes.

• 34:23Brooke Averick?

Okay. Yeah, I think I would think the same thing.

• 34:26Connor Wood?

I'm going to dinner. What, is it a brand thing?

• 34:28Brooke Averick?

If you told me I'm going to dinner, I would think it was a brand thing.

• 34:32Connor Wood?

Not me. Nope. Yeah, it's for this brand called Living.

• 34:38Connor Wood?

It's for this brand called Life.

• 34:40Brooke Averick?

Yeah, it's something to think about.

• 34:42Connor Wood?

  Yeah.

• 34:44Connor Wood?

Anyways, that's, that's where my head was at. Did you see Trisha Paytas is gonna be in Euphoria?

• 34:49Brooke Averick?

I saw Trisha Paytas is gonna be in Beetlejuice.

• 34:51Connor Wood?

She's gonna be in Euphoria, um, season three.

• 34:56Connor Wood?

I'll tell you what, because I auditioned for it.

• 34:58Brooke Averick?

Did you actually send in that audition? Was she gonna do that, what? That?

• 35:04Connor Wood?

  Yeah.

• 35:05Brooke Averick?

Are you sure for that role?

• 35:06Connor Wood?

  No, but like for sure.

• 35:07Brooke Averick?

Oh, can you, I don't think you can say.

• 35:09Connor Wood?

  I don't think I can say either.

• 35:10Brooke Averick?

  But...

• 35:11Connor Wood?

But there was, it also said for a guy, like it was for a guy part, so maybe not.

• 35:16Brooke Averick?

No, cuz I got that too.

• 35:17Connor Wood?

  Oh.

• 35:17Brooke Averick?

I didn't submit it, but I got the opportunity to do so.

• 35:20Connor Wood?

Well, there's definitely a, a male counterpart if there was also, cuz it was male specific. So, I don't know. But, um, I'm...

• 35:31Connor Wood?

As someone that works in this industry.

• 35:33Brooke Averick?

  Hmm.

• 35:35Connor Wood?

I do fear when you start putting people in, like it, it like pulls me out of... When I'm watching a movie or something and then some, someone I watch from TikTok comes in.

• 35:45Brooke Averick?

Well, you're in season three, might be a wash anyway.

• 35:48Connor Wood?

  Everyone's forty?

• 35:50Brooke Averick?

  Yeah.

• 35:50Connor Wood?

This is forty. This is forty.

• 35:52Brooke Averick?

  Forty.

• 35:54Connor Wood?

Leslie Mann. Wow, I've, we've never had a better, more well-received take than our Leslie Mann take.

• 36:01Brooke Averick?

  That she's Meryl Streep?

• 36:03Connor Wood?

Yeah. Just like she deserves the treatment.

• 36:06Brooke Averick?

  The treatment?

• 36:07Connor Wood?

  Yeah.

• 36:07Brooke Averick?

Did you just make that up?

• 36:08Connor Wood?

  No, someone else did.

• 36:09Brooke Averick?

  Oh.

• 36:09Connor Wood?

  I should've lied.

• 36:11Brooke Averick?

  That's brilliant.

• 36:14Connor Wood?

  Yeah.

• 36:14Brooke Averick?

  Yeah, I'm back on Hinge.

• 36:16Connor Wood?

I saw that. How's it going? Oh, well, how is it going? She had on...

• 36:22Connor Wood?

Perfect resume come across her desk yesterday and she goes, "I'll look at it later." What did you do with it?

• 36:27Brooke Averick?

It was not a perfect resume. You could not see his face in four out of the five images.

• 36:31Connor Wood?

Because he was, one, jumping, doing a backflip off a cliff.

• 36:33Brooke Averick?

  Do you?

• 36:34Connor Wood?

Two, hiking with a beautiful sunset.

• 36:36Brooke Averick?

Does that seem like someone for me?

• 36:40Brooke Averick?

Be honest with yourself. I want you to be honest with yourself.

• 36:42Connor Wood?

No, I want you to head towards the middle of the road.

• 36:44Brooke Averick?

  That's very mean.

• 36:45Connor Wood?

No, no, no. We gotta keep each other accountable.

• 36:48Brooke Averick?

This isn't what I mean by just like, commiserate. And.

• 36:52Connor Wood?

I'm trying to, okay. It was a perfect resume.

• 36:55Brooke Averick?

It was not a perfect resume.

• 36:56Connor Wood?

Six one, good looking dude. Guess what his name was?

• 36:59Brooke Averick?

  What?

• 37:00Connor Wood?

  Connor.

• 37:03Brooke Averick?

He was, maybe he was perfect for you, but he wasn't perfect for me. I'm going, this time on Hinge, I'm being like intentional. Like I'm not just like, like last time I was just like, maybe, maybe, maybe, maybe. And now I'm gonna be like, more intentional.

• 37:18Connor Wood?

  Okay.

• 37:19Brooke Averick?

Thanks. Cause I'm not, yeah. I'm only gonna go on a date with someone if I'm like, actually excited about it, instead of just like, yeah, I'll try it and then wanna kill myself, like in a major severe way.

• 37:30Connor Wood?

That makes sense. Can we talk about the person that we just, I just, your crush that?

• 37:36Brooke Averick?

No, thank you though for asking. Let's just say I am in, it's been an ongoing investigation. This is the same person I've been speaking about since the first Hinge incident and I don't, I can't get more into it just due to needing space. But it's so bad. Thank you. And obviously now Connor's completely involved himself in the investigation. He's inserted himself in the investigation. He, yeah, he was there first. Connor's a complete suspect.

• 38:10Connor Wood?

Well, I didn't connect any dots. I did say, remember when I was like, "Oh, he looks so much like your brother."

• 38:14Brooke Averick?

  Yeah.

• 38:15Connor Wood?

That's just because I recognized him.

• 38:17Brooke Averick?

  Yeah, exactly.

• 38:18Connor Wood?

But I didn't connect the dots. Like I didn't, I did not ever say, "Oh, wait, that's..."

• 38:24Brooke Averick?

  Mm-mm. We're not doing names.

• 38:27Connor Wood?

  I didn't say a word.

• 39:25Brooke Averick?

Yeah, so this has been amazing. And I can't wait for therapy on Thursday. Thank you.

• 39:34Connor Wood?

I didn't say yesterday. I was on my way to Dancing with the Stars and I obviously didn't read the dress code. I was gonna go to Brooks House first, then we're gonna go to the thing together. And then I read the dress code. It said, "Suit and tie, please." I'm wearing a t-shirt. So I rerouted to Nordstrom. I go to Nordstrom. I'm in hysterics because I was like, "I'm gonna be late, I'm gonna be late." I walk in, I tell this young man at Nordstrom, his name's Mark. He's like my dad's age. I go, "Hi, sir. I have to, I need this dress shirt and I need a tie stat. And also, I don't know how to tie a tie." And he goes, "Guess what? I know someone that does." And I go, "Who, Mark?" He goes, "Me."

• 40:17Connor Wood?

And like, I'm gonna post about him for Father's Day. Yeah. I said, "Mark, I'll come back. I'm gonna come back and see you." And he goes, "You don't have to."

• 40:26Brooke Averick?

I have a list on my phone of people like Mark.

• 40:29Connor Wood?

  Really?

• 40:29Brooke Averick?

Of just like hometown heroes that I've just like come across. That just means so much to me.

• 40:33Connor Wood?

Not the stepfather. He's the father that stepped up at Nordstrom. And we're not blood-related at all. And that was our first time meeting, but I do feel like drawn to him, not in a sexual way, in a way of like, in another life, we were picking apples in an orchard. You know, alongside each other.

• 40:55Brooke Averick?

Whoa, I just found, I was looking in my notes to look for people I love. But there's this really like four paragraph note from 2022, also known as 2022. I know I've been kind of distant recently in our friendship and I want to give some context around why that is. The reason I decided to take a step back, blah, blah, blah. Like, who could this have gone to?

• 41:17Connor Wood?

  In your notes?

• 41:18Brooke Averick?

Yeah, it's like three, it's like four paragraphs.

• 41:22Connor Wood?

Well, don't read the rest of it. That's gonna put you in a strange headspace.

• 41:26Brooke Averick?

  It was not to you.

• 41:28Connor Wood?

No, no, I'm saying, don't, don't read, don't read it right now.

• 41:32Brooke Averick?

Who did I take a step back from?

• 41:36Brooke Averick?

Okay, I want to find the list of people that I care about. I know one of them was this guy that worked at the Glasses Place. Oh, people I love, Lou from the Glasses Place.

• 41:48Brooke Averick?

Um, the doctor that did my nose, the waiter from a mom and pop up thing in place in Florida, Kevin from Toyota, and Ted from the country club.

• 42:02Brooke Averick?

I only remember Lou, but that's so, and, and nose. But that's so amazing that I will have this forever. Last update in 2018.

• 42:10Connor Wood?

That's special. You can add Mark from Nordstrom on my behalf, please. Just because I know you would like him.

• 42:18Brooke Averick?

  Okay.

• 42:18Connor Wood?

And I'll introduce you one day.

• 42:19Brooke Averick?

I would love to meet the guy.

• 42:21Connor Wood?

Yeah, and you should have gotten his hours that he works.

• 42:25Brooke Averick?

Um, speaking of nose, this is what I was gonna tell you earlier and you were like, save it for the pod.

• 42:30Connor Wood?

  Yes.

• 42:30Brooke Averick?

And I was like, no, because it's visual and not interesting.

• 42:33Connor Wood?

  Yes.

• 42:34Brooke Averick?

But I just saw it on my phone.

• 42:35Connor Wood?

  Yes.

• 42:36Brooke Averick?

Um, in high school, I hated my nose so much that if anyone was on either side of me ever, I would push my nose up so that they didn't see the bump in it, which like was worse that I was just like touching my nose, literally like pretending I was like a pig. Like I would like lift my nose up.

• 42:58Connor Wood?

Yeah, it had to be exhausting.

• 42:59Brooke Averick?

And I found a picture of myself. I did not take any pictures in high school because I didn't, I hated being in camera. But I found one and I forgot I had a dent across my nose from how much I would do that, that it left like a physical. Den and I cannot believe how bad it was. And this is what my nose just looked like. Is that not the most insane thing you've ever seen?

• 43:27Connor Wood?

  That's physical dent.

• 43:28Brooke Averick?

  Is that not insane?

• 43:33Brooke Averick?

And I just live, I lived with a massive line across my, my big fat nose. All because of that. Isn't that kind of sad?

• 43:42Connor Wood?

  It is sad.

• 43:44Brooke Averick?

  But beautiful.

• 43:46Connor Wood?

  Gorgeous.

• 43:47Brooke Averick?

Yeah. Cause I look back at her and I'm like, you will be so fine.

• 43:53Connor Wood?

You'll be on the sidelines cheering on Dylan E.

• 43:56Brooke Averick?

Just a few more years until Dylan.

• 43:58Connor Wood?

  Leave your.

• 43:58Brooke Averick?

  Keep holding on.

• 44:00Connor Wood?

  Who knows?

• 44:00Brooke Averick?

Let go of that nose and let God. Dylan is on his way.

• 44:07Brooke Averick?

But in another way, it will get harder.

• 44:12Brooke Averick?

But in the most amazing way. There's a shitstorm coming. But also some amazing things.

• 44:24Brooke Averick?

  Don't download Hinge.

• 44:29Connor Wood?

  Unless.

• 44:37Brooke Averick?

Guess who I found on Hinge the other day?

• 44:39Connor Wood?

  Who?

• 44:39Brooke Averick?

Uh, my cousin that I was telling you.

• 44:43Brooke Averick?

  Oh wait, that was bonus.

• 44:46Connor Wood?

Your cousin, geez, like every week you invent a new cousin.

• 44:50Brooke Averick?

No, it's the same one that we were talking about in bonus. That is so distant that it's fine.

• 44:55Connor Wood?

  Oh.

• 44:56Brooke Averick?

  Yeah, so I'm on Hinge.

• 44:59Connor Wood?

Wow, um, hmm. Now we're back to that conversation.

• 45:04Brooke Averick?

  We don't need to.

• 45:05Connor Wood?

I, well, no, I just, it's, it's so crazy because like, I don't think I could, even if I, even if I knew that it was my cousin in any way, I don't think I could send.

• 45:13Brooke Averick?

  I didn't say I sent him a like.

• 45:18Connor Wood?

No, I know. I'm just, I'm trying to see if I can wrap my head around.

• 45:21Brooke Averick?

Sending your cousin a like on Hinge?

• 45:22Connor Wood?

  Yeah.

• 45:24Brooke Averick?

  I didn't send him a like.

• 45:26Connor Wood?

Okay. What'd you do with him?

• 45:29Brooke Averick?

  Send, said, left.

• 45:31Connor Wood?

Oh, see ya cuz. See ya Thanksgiving. What, um, okay. What could have been? Keep it in the family.

• 45:39Brooke Averick?

I le, I, I'm trying to remember if I matched with Noah or not.

• 45:43Connor Wood?

  Your brother?

• 45:43Brooke Averick?

  I got him, yeah.

• 45:46Brooke Averick?

I don't know what we did.

• 45:49Connor Wood?

That's, that's so weird that Hinge doesn't have like a, this is obviously your family feature.

• 45:54Brooke Averick?

Right. Damn, it's crazy that my most compatible is engaged.

• 46:01Connor Wood?

Oh, cuz your most compatible was your brother?

• 46:03Brooke Averick?

  Exactly.

• 46:04Connor Wood?

Yeah. Wow, that takes, that's like that, the doctor comes in and it's like, oh, this is my son. How is that possible?

• 46:12Connor Wood?

Because her most compatible is her brother.

• 46:15Brooke Averick?

  Yeah.

• 46:17Connor Wood?

  Oh, that's a thinker.

• 46:19Brooke Averick?

I got my, one of my second cousins on Hinge once too, and that was

• 46:24Connor Wood?

That's where I draw the line.

• 46:26Brooke Averick?

Yeah. That was like, ooh, I don't want, like, I don't, that's like embarrassing. I don't even want him to know I'm on here.

• 46:33Connor Wood?

Everyone's on there. Don't be embarrassed to be who you are.

• 46:39Brooke Averick?

  I am.

• 46:42Brooke Averick?

I, I just keep, I like, keep coming back to the fact that it's just like so mortifying to like, it feels so embarrassing to be out there in that way. And then to send a like is like so horrible. And then to not receive one back, it feels like the worst thing in the world, even though I know it's not. And I can save this for therapy on Thursday if you want.

• 47:00Connor Wood?

This looks like one of those characters from The Summer I Turned Pretty. Now, the more I look at it, what's, who's the one?

• 47:05Brooke Averick?

  Which one? Conrad?

• 47:06Connor Wood?

  Conrad. This vibe.

• 47:08Brooke Averick?

Yeah, he does look like he's wearing a toupee.

• 47:14Connor Wood?

Back to your thing about how your life is gonna be okay, but it is also gonna be worse in many ways.

• 47:23Connor Wood?

I had this thought the other day cuz I was having a day where I was like, hmm, this is a bad day. Can't put my finger on it. And then I was just thinking.

• 47:31Brooke Averick?

I was having that yesterday too.

• 47:32Connor Wood?

  Today? Cuz nothing happened.

• 47:34Brooke Averick?

  Right.

• 47:35Connor Wood?

And it's a thinker. And days can be thinkers. But are they necessarily stinkers?

• 47:49Connor Wood?

  Profound? No?

• 47:51Brooke Averick?

  That was amazing, yeah.

• 47:55Connor Wood?

Is today, and now I ask everyone to make this distinction and maybe, maybe sit, sit, marinate with it. Is today a thinker?

• 48:05Connor Wood?

Yes. But is it a stinker?

• 48:09Brooke Averick?

  Can it also be S?

• 48:13Connor Wood?

Totally, yeah, it can. So I don't know, you can just, we can, we can.

• 48:19Brooke Averick?

  So was it a stinker?

• 48:21Connor Wood?

Yeah, it was. It was a bad day.

• 48:22Brooke Averick?

  Yeah.

• 48:23Connor Wood?

  Yeah.

• 48:24Brooke Averick?

  Okay. But it turned around.

• 48:26Connor Wood?

Before it ended up being a stinker.

• 48:28Brooke Averick?

  But it turned around.

• 48:29Connor Wood?

But sometimes if you're like, okay, I've had real stinkers before. Like, is this one of the, and it's like, no, it's, it's not that bad, which actually helps you, because then it's like, oh, it's, it's simply just a thinker. And there's nothing wrong with a thinker. There's nothing wrong with a stinker also. Because if you're, if you're having a bad day, sometimes you can be like, I'm actually thankful because this is so horrible that like,

• 48:49Connor Wood?

like, there's, there's good to come, because anything compared to this is, is just gonna be better.

• 48:54Brooke Averick?

That's true. That's the good thing about, uh, rock bottom.

• 48:59Connor Wood?

Yeah, until something worse happens. And then it's like, oh, wait, that was like, totally fine earlier.

• 49:04Brooke Averick?

But like, sometimes it's a relief when like horrible things happen, because it's like, okay, another horrible thing probably won't happen for a minute.

• 49:10Connor Wood?

Yeah, or when stuff's going really well and you go, mm.

• 49:12Brooke Averick?

  Oh, something, it's.

• 49:13Connor Wood?

Yikes, I'm about to, I'm about to get a devastating email.

• 49:16Brooke Averick?

  Yeah, yeah, yeah, yup.

• 49:19Connor Wood?

Um. You got posted on the, like,

• 49:25Connor Wood?

OCD page of like OCD pages, like a, like a clinical professional page. They posted you.

• 49:34Brooke Averick?

I saw that, yeah, and it, I, that was the nine 11.

• 49:38Connor Wood?

  The nine 11 bit.

• 49:39Brooke Averick?

Story from, like, the first episode of the pod.

• 49:42Connor Wood?

Well, because for the first time ever.

• 49:43Brooke Averick?

  No C D.

• 49:44Connor Wood?

Well, it's OCD Awareness Month or week or something. And it's like, Who are you making aware of OCD? Because people with OCD are very aware that they have OCD.

• 49:52Brooke Averick?

No, a lot of people don't know what OCD is still.

• 49:55Connor Wood?

I don't think it's extremely clear what OCD is. Is it a spectrum also?

• 50:00Brooke Averick?

I mean, it just presents itself in different ways. But I think like the way that it's been presented in the media. And I think the way that like even like mental health professionals understood it in like the early 2000s was just like being crazily organized and clean and even like germaphobic. Is germaphobic a word or is it just being germaphobe? But like now we understand that it's a lot about like thought patterns and obsessive thoughts. Which like I was not diagnosed with OCD until much later in life, even though it was very clear. Like looking back when I was five and thought I did nine 11 and had like severe amytophobia. Like, oh, that's like a no brainer OCD. But like, no one knew. So I think that's why they're posting it.

• 50:44Brooke Averick?

Because it's like this OCD looks like this too.

• 50:46Connor Wood?

Yeah, there was one that I thought was funny. It was like happy OCD awareness month to the guy I'm convinced lives in the trunk of my car.

• 50:53Brooke Averick?

  Yes. Yeah.

• 50:55Connor Wood?

And happy, because there's like stuff like that where you just like think this

• 51:00Connor Wood?

this thought all the time. And then you're just used to this thought and it like lives with you. And it's like when like something's on, like when there's a rubber band on the floor in your kitchen. And it's just like, yeah, that's my rubber band that's on the floor in my kitchen. It's been there for so long. It's just like a stable part of your life. Someone was like happy OCD awareness month to the invisible string that trails behind me. Like every time I walk anywhere. I was like, whoa.

• 51:22Brooke Averick?

When I was probably like eight or something, I kept convincing myself that I saw the number 11 everywhere. Even though I think it showed up as much as any other number would. But I thought that that meant I would die at 11. And so I spent eight, nine, the next three years thinking that my death year was coming. And then all of 11, I would just wake up and wait for death.

• 51:45Connor Wood?

Beautiful way to live. Live like you're dying. I hope you get a chance. Because you could go skydiving, you could go Rocky mountain climbing, you could go 3.7 seconds on a bull named Fu Manchu even.

• 51:58Connor Wood?

  If that's something you want.

• 52:00Brooke Averick?

  Yeah.

• 52:01Connor Wood?

Cause if you, I hope you get a chance to live like you're dying at 11.

• 52:05Brooke Averick?

Live like you're dying at 11?

• 52:07Connor Wood?

  Yeah.

• 52:07Brooke Averick?

Yeah. And then when I didn't die at 11, that was actually really healing.

• 52:13Connor Wood?

  No.

• 52:14Brooke Averick?

  Yeah.

• 52:16Brooke Averick?

When I made it to 12, that was like, holy shit, like maybe just maybe not every thought I have has to become a reality.

• 52:25Connor Wood?

  Oh, healing for your OCD.

• 52:26Brooke Averick?

  Yeah.

• 52:26Connor Wood?

I think you mentioned in general, just to relax.

• 52:28Brooke Averick?

Oh, no. That's like, it, it taught me that I didn't have to believe every single thought I had. And that's what OCD really is, is believing every single thought that enters your brain.

• 52:39Connor Wood?

  That's exhausting.

• 52:40Brooke Averick?

  It's so tiring.

• 52:47Brooke Averick?

  But you can get better.

• 52:49Connor Wood?

  Yeah.

• 52:50Brooke Averick?

  Mm hmm.

• 52:50Connor Wood?

  It's good to know.

• 52:51Brooke Averick?

  Some people.

• 52:52Connor Wood?

The only dots 100% I have, or that I believe 100% are me convincing myself that someone really just despises me. That's the one I believe across the board.

• 53:03Brooke Averick?

  Like they might.

• 53:04Connor Wood?

I could have a great, great interaction with somebody and I, I will go through like every single word I said, I'm like, did I like emphasize this in a weird way or was I like eager or was I uninterested or whatever? Like even last night, like I go through every interaction I had with each person I talked to.

• 53:21Brooke Averick?

  I think that's normal.

• 53:23Connor Wood?

That's not good though. I wanna, that.

• 53:24Brooke Averick?

No, it's not like awesome, but I think that's a very common thing that people.

• 53:28Connor Wood?

That I would like, if there was a pill for me to just like leave an interaction and that like, once I'm done with the interaction, like I know that it's over.

• 53:36Brooke Averick?

Yeah. Why are there not more pills?

• 53:40Brooke Averick?

There should be a pill for everything.

• 53:42Connor Wood?

There should, well, we, I mean, how many, this, this whole podcast could be called, there should be more pills.

• 53:48Brooke Averick?

  More pills, please.

• 53:49Connor Wood?

  Bill me, baby.

• 53:53Connor Wood?

I mean, it's like, we have a podcast, you know, like every now and then I'm like, oh my gosh, yeah. We do have a podcast and here we are.

• 54:00Brooke Averick?

I wanted to say something about that.

• 54:03Connor Wood?

I wanted to say something about that. We made, we're on another list.

• 54:07Brooke Averick?

That's not what I wanted to say.

• 54:08Connor Wood?

Well, I want to, well, while you think, we're on another list. Can I say it?

• 54:12Brooke Averick?

  Uh, yeah.

• 54:14Connor Wood?

  We're on the Hollywood Reporter.

• 54:17Connor Wood?

  List.

• 54:18Brooke Averick?

  I don't know.

• 54:18Connor Wood?

  For something.

• 54:19Brooke Averick?

I want to see it because I don't know if we're on it as a unit.

• 54:21Connor Wood?

No, I mean, I think we are, but I, but I could have read it wrong. Um. It's like a good list.

• 54:29Brooke Averick?

  Yeah. Definitely.

• 54:31Connor Wood?

There's people posting about it. I think we might've been on a different, even.

• 54:34Brooke Averick?

I was, I was wondering if it was the same or a different list.

• 54:38Connor Wood?

  Might be a different list.

• 54:39Speaker 04

  It came out today, so.

• 54:41Connor Wood?

It came out today? How come I?

• 54:43Brooke Averick?

But I don't know if we're on that list. Yeah. So, are we on this?

• 54:47Connor Wood?

  Yeah. Oh, hello.

• 54:48Brooke Averick?

  Oh, we're a unit.

• 54:48Connor Wood?

  We're a unit.

• 54:49Brooke Averick?

We're a complete and total unit.

• 54:51Connor Wood?

What did they say about Broke Averick and Connor Wood?

• 54:53Brooke Averick?

Okay, how about you read it?

• 54:54Connor Wood?

Their podcast may be called Broke and Connor Make a Podcast, but what they've really made is Gen Z cult hits.

• 54:59Brooke Averick?

  Holy hell.

• 55:00Connor Wood?

Oh my gosh, I like that. Gen Z cult hit. Averick and Wood bounce, that's a good band name.

• 55:06Brooke Averick?

  I don't mind it. I don't mind that.

• 55:08Connor Wood?

Music. Averick and Wood bounce between pop culture breakdowns, deadpan tangents, and existential spirals. We did all of those today. Oh my God.

• 55:18Brooke Averick?

Oh, look, look at the next sentence.

• 55:20Connor Wood?

Often within the same five minutes.

• 55:21Brooke Averick?

  I love that.

• 55:22Connor Wood?

And their clipped, chaotic rapport has struck a chord with chronically online twentysomethings. Averick also made waves on book talk and has a debut novel, nice, If You're Ever Mind's Gonna Lose It, coming in 2026. Wood's solo TikToks are equal parts sincere and absurd, sometimes in the same sentence.

• 55:39Brooke Averick?

  I love that.

• 55:41Connor Wood?

My screen time being less than 11 hours, oh.

• 55:43Brooke Averick?

The prompt was the one thing I miss about my life before I was a creator.

• 55:47Connor Wood?

You said, my screen time being less than 11 hours a day. Connor, I kind of miss my nine to fives. I was ultimately fired from every one of them as they weren't a part of my journey.

• 55:57Brooke Averick?

  That's good.

• 55:59Connor Wood?

  Yeah, that is good.

• 56:00Brooke Averick?

  Oh, that's.

• 56:00Connor Wood?

Oh, and Caleb Heron is next.

• 56:03Brooke Averick?

Oh, I answered so many more prompts.

• 56:06Connor Wood?

  I don't know. Oh.

• 56:11Connor Wood?

  I forgot.

• 56:12Brooke Averick?

  Why did you do that?

• 56:13Connor Wood?

I thought they'd come back and say we can't use that photo.

• 56:16Brooke Averick?

Wait, what's, so obviously Connor's headshot is toothless. But how did you do that? What are your tooth?

• 56:26Connor Wood?

  It's fudge.

• 56:27Brooke Averick?

Oh, it's fudge? Oh, that's hysterical.

• 56:29Connor Wood?

They said, we need a headshot right now. And I said, I'm heading out the door. They said, we just need a headshot right now. Okay, so.

• 56:37Brooke Averick?

Do you like, do you like my picture?

• 56:39Connor Wood?

  Yeah, it's gorge.

• 56:41Brooke Averick?

  Thanks.

• 56:41Connor Wood?

  Why? What?

• 56:42Brooke Averick?

Cause you didn't say if you liked it or not.

• 56:44Connor Wood?

I'm a little like focused on them using this in the print piece.

• 56:50Brooke Averick?

Oh, look at those two. They've been through so much.

• 56:54Connor Wood?

Oh my gosh, do you think one day we're gonna cry?

• 56:57Brooke Averick?

  On the podcast?

• 56:58Connor Wood?

  Yeah.

• 56:58Brooke Averick?

  I cried

• 57:01Brooke Averick?

  saying something to someone recently.

• 57:03Connor Wood?

  Yeah.

• 57:03Brooke Averick?

  About my journey.

• 57:05Connor Wood?

  Yeah.

• 57:05Brooke Averick?

Do you want to hear what I said?

• 57:07Connor Wood?

  No.

• 57:07Brooke Averick?

  Okay.

• 57:08Connor Wood?

  Yeah.

• 57:09Brooke Averick?

No, it's like kind of real.

• 57:10Connor Wood?

I'd be too sincere for like the last.

• 57:12Brooke Averick?

It's very sincere. It's, I'll save it, but I did cry in a way that I'm not used to and it made me extremely uncomfortable. So I won't, I won't put that on everyone else. Cool. That's amazing. Thank you, Hollywood Reporter.

• 57:27Connor Wood?

Yeah, seriously, thank you. Is Alex Kinsani first on the list?

• 57:32Connor Wood?

Nice. Congratulations to her. She's so funny. Alex, we are in such good company. And Amelia.

• 57:38Brooke Averick?

  Is it alphabetical?

• 57:39Connor Wood?

And Bowman, wow. Oh, it is, it is. Brittany?

• 57:43Brooke Averick?

Did anyone else go as a two for?

• 57:46Connor Wood?

  I bet not.

• 57:48Brooke Averick?

This reminds me of when I auditioned.

• 57:50Connor Wood?

  Hannah?

• 57:51Brooke Averick?

  Yeah, oh.

• 57:52Connor Wood?

  Miss Rachel. Wow. Who's Erin?

• 57:54Brooke Averick?

  I don't know.

• 57:55Connor Wood?

  And Rhett and Link.

• 57:56Brooke Averick?

But it's similar to when I auditioned for a solo in the eighth grade chorus concert.

• 58:02Connor Wood?

  Yeah.

• 58:03Brooke Averick?

And was the only one that got a joint solo that also happened to be a speaking part.

• 58:10Brooke Averick?

And some nights by fun. So this is it?

• 58:13Connor Wood?

  I don't know. Yeah.

• 58:15Brooke Averick?

That part, but shared with someone else. I completely ruined the whole thing.

• 58:21Connor Wood?

Wait, what did you ruin? What part did you ruin?

• 58:25Brooke Averick?

So what had happened was I said, so this is, it was with my best friend Jen was the speaking solo. I said, so this is it? And you know, it's so this is it. I sold my soul for this. So I said,

• 58:38Connor Wood?

  Wash my hands of that.

• 58:38Brooke Averick?

Yeah. So I said, so this is it. And then Jen said, I traded my soul for that for this. Which were not the words.

• 58:45Connor Wood?

You know what? If it hits the word count and works with the song, then it does not matter.

• 58:49Brooke Averick?

For that for this. So obviously I start laughing like very, very, very hard. And I thought what the best thing to do, because Jen had clearly messed up beyond belief. I took the mic from her, stepped forward and belted the last line. It's like, so come on, you know? It's like the worst note that's ever been uttered by anyone that's ever opened their mouths. And then the whole chorus devolved pretty badly. No one could finish the song.

• 59:19Connor Wood?

  Because they were laughing.

• 59:19Brooke Averick?

Yes. So I had to then approach the chorus teacher as we were walking off the risers. And I said, I'm sorry about that. And then she said, it's okay. I'm sure you didn't mean to sabotage the whole concert. Which is right. I didn't.

• 59:33Connor Wood?

That is a Carrie Anne DeBubla type comment.

• 59:37Brooke Averick?

Yeah. So I now I can't listen to Some Nights by Fun. Like if it's on, I'll say, please skip this.

• 59:41Connor Wood?

Oh, I get that. I get that.

• 59:44Brooke Averick?

Wasn't a good one to begin with, but.

• 59:47Connor Wood?

No, there's some music I can't listen to either.

• 59:48Brooke Averick?

Now there's associated. Traded my soul for that for this.

• 59:52Connor Wood?

I had a, we had some kind of concert where we all had to wear primary colors. And I had a line and I was really stoked on it. And each person, you know, like walked up to the mic and said it. And mine was long too. I get up. I was, I'm good at, like, I was good at memorizing lines. And it was like, this is why I got this. I memorized this whole line. It was probably a minute long. I walk up to the mic. Can't remember the first word. I stood there for a full minute.

• 1:00:24Connor Wood?

Walk away. My parents were like pissing their pants laughing.

• 1:00:30Connor Wood?

Oh, it was so funny. My dad's like still, if he came in the room, you ask him about like me being in plays and like growing up, he will heal. He's like, it was pure brilliance. I was like, I didn't say my line even.

• 1:00:43Brooke Averick?

Wow. You know, you've seen that picture of me about to throw up during the Christmas concert? Yeah. During We Need A Little Christmas Now, out the holly. Yeah. Yeah. So I had some amazing moments on stage. It sounds like we both did.

• 1:00:59Connor Wood?

I miss the stage, man. I miss the stage.

• 1:01:01Brooke Averick?

  Put me back on it.

• 1:01:02Connor Wood?

What I would give for one more day with my...

• 1:01:05Brooke Averick?

One more day on those risers.

• 1:01:06Connor Wood?

On those risers. Did you have anyone that locked their knees and passed out?

• 1:01:10Brooke Averick?

No, but like for whatever reason, we had so many people just threw up on the risers.

• 1:01:16Brooke Averick?

  I think it's the heat.

• 1:01:17Connor Wood?

No, it's no, no, it's a thing. It's a thing about lack of blood flow and locking your knees. There, if there's one thing that's...

• 1:01:22Brooke Averick?

  Those risers. Oh my god.

• 1:01:24Connor Wood?

Those risers smelled like vomit because everyone would vomit on them and then they would lock their knees and pass out.

• 1:01:30Brooke Averick?

  Yeah.

• 1:01:30Connor Wood?

And there is a fear of passing out that's in me where every now and then, if I'm standing for a long time, I will bend my knees and squat and get the blood flowing because the choir, I wasn't even in choir. It's stuck with me and such a like a, it built into my body weight, like things you remember for survival. Don't lock your knees, you'll pass out. You'll throw up on the risers.

• 1:01:49Brooke Averick?

You know what was the worst of it though? Did you have a recorder concert on the risers?

• 1:01:52Connor Wood?

  Did I have a recorder?

• 1:01:53Brooke Averick?

That's when people started to pass out because you're blowing out so much air. You're not getting and you're not getting enough in. You're putting all of your oxygen into the recorder.

• 1:02:05Connor Wood?

The fact that these teachers put our physical health on the line for us to play patty cake, what is this? Hot cross buns? There's no reason kids should be passing out.

• 1:02:17Brooke Averick?

Literal death by hot cross buns.

• 1:02:19Connor Wood?

And it sounded, it was, it was complete, it was a bloodbath up there.

• 1:02:24Brooke Averick?

  It was, yeah.

• 1:02:27Connor Wood?

Like and everyone's playing a different note. Kids are falling. Boom, hitting the risers. Boom. And it wasn't the show.

• 1:02:34Brooke Averick?

  Puking, fainting.

• 1:02:35Connor Wood?

It wasn't the show goes on because it was like...

• 1:02:39Connor Wood?

Like someone falls on the risers and he was like, "One Dean dead at Hot Cross Buns Show."

• 1:02:44Brooke Averick?

  Yeah.

• 1:02:47Brooke Averick?

  So...

• 1:02:47Connor Wood?

  Rest in peace.

• 1:02:50Connor Wood?

Anyways, I'm gonna let you go, cuz I gotta hop on an interview.

• 1:02:53Brooke Averick?

  Yeah.

• 1:02:54Connor Wood?

  It's time.

• 1:02:54Brooke Averick?

  You actually do.

• 1:02:55Connor Wood?

  Yeah.

• 1:02:57Brooke Averick?

And so I'll, I'll think, I'll start to think about seeing you in bonus.

• 1:03:01Connor Wood?

Yeah, try to wrap your head around it and we'll see you guys in bonus. Uh, this is my Quint sweater. We didn't get to talk about them today, but this is my-

• 1:03:07Brooke Averick?

  This is my Oddly sweater.

• 1:03:08Connor Wood?

And that's her Oddly sweater. That's gorgeous.

• 1:03:10Brooke Averick?

  Isn't it?

• 1:03:11Connor Wood?

  Good job, Oddly.

• 1:03:12Brooke Averick?

  Thank you, I love them.

• 1:03:12Connor Wood?

Um, and if you're coming to my shows in Phoenix, I'll see you there, I'm really excited. If you're coming to my shows in San Diego, I'll see you there, I'm really excited. Uh, bye.

• 1:03:21Brooke Averick?

Bye. This week on Close Friends.

• 1:03:25Connor Wood?

• 1:03:31Brooke Averick?

Oh, a block in the leopard kitten heel? Are you serious?

• 1:03:33Connor Wood?

  On a Wednesday?

• 1:03:34Brooke Averick?

  Holy shit.

• 1:03:35Connor Wood?

You little hussy? And I wake up, and I'm like, "What the hell? I felt wetness on my nipple."

• 1:03:41Brooke Averick?

Can I show you a really good, um, glee performance, or would you rather die?
