• 1:06Brooke Averick?

Is it weird that my sunglasses are on my head?

• 1:09Connor Wood?

No, you look like you've got places to go.

• 1:13Brooke Averick?

This is like my first real pair of sunglasses, by the way.

• 1:16Connor Wood?

  What are they?

• 1:17Brooke Averick?

  Ray-Bans. I don't know if you've heard of it. It's like a little boutique.

• 1:22Connor Wood?

It can be so nice to start off with a classic, like a Ray-Ban.

• 1:25Brooke Averick?

Yeah, because I don't really wear them sunglasses, but I thought maybe if I get a nice pair, I'll wear them.

• 1:32Connor Wood?

I really like supporting small creators.

• 1:34Brooke Averick?

  I do too.

• 1:35Connor Wood?

It's one of my favorite things. And Mr. Ban, well done on your frames, bro.

• 1:42Brooke Averick?

Hey, sometimes just like the classics are the way to go.

• 2:02Connor Wood?

Are we recording a podcast right now?

• 2:06Brooke Averick?

  I think so, champ.

• 2:07Connor Wood?

  Does it appear that way?

• 2:09Brooke Averick?

  It does.

• 2:10Connor Wood?

Like, right now, it's going and we're recording a podcast?

• 2:13Brooke Averick?

  Yep.

• 2:14Connor Wood?

And this is the one that everyone's been talking about, right?

• 2:16Brooke Averick?

  Mm-hmm.

• 2:17Connor Wood?

  Brooke and Connor makeup?

• 2:18Brooke Averick?

  Brooke and

• 2:22Connor Wood?

  How are you, Brooke?

• 2:23Brooke Averick?

I'm good, champion. How are you?

• 2:25Connor Wood?

I'm okay. I'm good. I had probably like the worst breakfast I've ever had in my life today, and so it's sitting very strangely.

• 2:32Brooke Averick?

  What'd you have?

• 2:34Connor Wood?

Well, I went over to this cafe that's near my house, and it's a lovely

• 2:37Brooke Averick?

  Classic?

• 2:39Connor Wood?

Yes. It's a lovely spot. It looks like, just, it's, I send you a Snapchat every time I go, because it's just like this Hallmark vibe. And everyone in there

• 2:49Brooke Averick?

You've never sent me a Snapchat of that.

• 2:51Connor Wood?

  Oh, but I have.

• 2:52Brooke Averick?

Is it the one that I've been to? That's right across from you?

• 2:55Connor Wood?

  No.

• 2:55Brooke Averick?

  Okay.

• 2:57Connor Wood?

It's like so hard for me not to ST this place. Talk.

• 3:02Brooke Averick?

  Yeah.

• 3:03Connor Wood?

It is like essentially very crappy.

• 3:05Brooke Averick?

  Okay.

• 3:06Connor Wood?

But it, it has everything you would need. Eggs, bacon, grits, sausage. Everybody says sausage, keep it going. And so I go, and I, this morning, I keep giving it a shot. It's a great place to go have coffee.

• 3:22Brooke Averick?

  Yeah.

• 3:23Connor Wood?

And like the most sign-filled way possible. Go, sit, have a, you can order coffee after coffee after coffee. They will not kick you out.

• 3:29Brooke Averick?

  That's so nice.

• 3:30Connor Wood?

  It's great. They have outlets.

• 3:34Brooke Averick?

So, I mean, the place sounds like a winner.

• 3:37Connor Wood?

Yeah. It's a winner. The thing is, that's really funny, is like, everyone else that's in there is 80, 90 years old, and I think it might be like

• 3:46Connor Wood?

a one-stop shop for like a retirement home, because they come in and all of the staff knows the these like

• 3:51Brooke Averick?

This sounds like a great place.

• 3:52Connor Wood?

It's great for me. That's like what I want to surround myself with.

• 3:55Brooke Averick?

But what was your breakfast that was so horrible?

• 3:57Connor Wood?

  Well, so?

• 4:00Connor Wood?

I ordered two eggs on a focaccia.

• 4:03Brooke Averick?

  That's the problem.

• 4:05Connor Wood?

Yeah, so right then is when I should have said, hold up. You've never ordered this.

• 4:10Brooke Averick?

Is this like more of a diner vibe?

• 4:13Connor Wood?

  Yes, yes.

• 4:14Brooke Averick?

  You gotta get rye, baby.

• 4:16Connor Wood?

  I, Brooke.

• 4:17Brooke Averick?

  Or sourdough.

• 4:19Connor Wood?

I'll tell you something at, something at 9am, what you don't want to have is two eggs over easy on focaccia.

• 4:25Brooke Averick?

  Yeah, that's dense.

• 4:26Connor Wood?

And let me tell you what made it worse. I skipped right over the, I skipped right over the fact that it's, the eggs are sitting atop a bed of arugula, which like doesn't really mix well with like my vibe, my hot black coffee, my freshly squeezed OJ, which was, drop again, by the way, I saw them pour it. And then these two runny ass eggs that are over arugula, and get this, under the arugula? A bunch of shredded turkey breasts, like, and one thing I don't want is like the mother and the daughter on my focaccia. You know?

• 5:03Brooke Averick?

  You've been open about that.

• 5:05Connor Wood?

Eggs don't belong on, on their mother, you know?

• 5:11Brooke Averick?

Can I ask you about a Cobb salad?

• 5:13Connor Wood?

Oh, I'm so glad you brought up the Cobb.

• 5:16Connor Wood?

Cause I'd never considered that because in, in my world, in the world I live in, a hard boiled egg is almost not even related to an egg over easy or scrambled. Those are, those are like distant, distant cousins.

• 5:26Brooke Averick?

Interesting. So confirming that you think it's okay to happen inside of a Cobb?

• 5:31Connor Wood?

  I do.

• 5:31Brooke Averick?

  I do too.

• 5:32Connor Wood?

I think the Cobb might operate in its own sort of realm.

• 5:35Brooke Averick?

  Cobb has its own rules.

• 5:37Connor Wood?

Well, now we've entered the Cobb zone.

• 5:39Brooke Averick?

Yeah. Okay, sorry. I took you in another direction. Continue.

• 5:46Connor Wood?

  ACAB. All Cobbs are bussin'.

• 5:53Brooke Averick?

  Okay.

• 5:55Connor Wood?

And I'll start there. And no, I do think like a

• 5:59Brooke Averick?

  So stupid. I loved it.

• 6:02Connor Wood?

What's crazy is I was like, I'm gonna say this.

• 6:05Brooke Averick?

I know. I watched that happen.

• 6:07Connor Wood?

Um, yeah, so, um, I do fuck heavily with a hard boiled egg, which is like a newer thing for me.

• 6:14Brooke Averick?

  That's new.

• 6:15Connor Wood?

Where I don't, where I kind of draw the line is the yolk.

• 6:18Brooke Averick?

  So like 70% of it?

• 6:20Connor Wood?

I think if you get a small yolk, I think if you luck out and get a smaller yolk.

• 6:24Brooke Averick?

That's so funny that you would consider that lucking out.

• 6:27Connor Wood?

  You like

• 6:28Brooke Averick?

One man's trash is another man's treasure. If I open a hard boiled egg, if I slice open a hard boiled egg and it's one of those like baby yolks, I'm so damn pissed. It has to be like a solid, like 60, 40 ratio.

• 6:43Connor Wood?

Brooke, me and you are going, we're going to a restaurant. We're getting calamari and, and hard boiled eggs and we're farting our asses off the rest of the day.

• 6:58Brooke Averick?

Farting our way home via jet pack?

• 7:00Connor Wood?

We're going on a fart journey. And I farted. Brooke and Connor take a, make a fart.

• 7:09Connor Wood?

Lord. Anyways, so I had, I had a breakfast that just like, it was one of those things. And then it was like, well, I ordered it, you know, like I'm going to eat as much as I can. But it was really just like, it was work. I was clocked in at the cafe trying to get this thing down. And then essentially she said, do you want a box? And I said, no, like, really, I don't. And she goes, well, maybe you do half order next time. And I go, I could have gotten a half order. It was a platter of turkey and egg and focaccia and arugula. Anyways.

• 7:41Brooke Averick?

Yeah, that would, that would have set me sour as well.

• 7:46Connor Wood?

Yeah, it's, it, it just kind of sucks when like the first thing you put in your body of the day is just like not correct.

• 7:52Brooke Averick?

I don't even think like the meal itself is like a huge problem, except for the idea of like a runny egg, like running over a turkey. But my problem would just be like, if I ordered eggs and toast and that came, I'd be upset. Well, you fucked up with the focaccia. So I don't even.

• 8:10Connor Wood?

  Yeah.

• 8:11Brooke Averick?

Not to blame, but like you fucked up.

• 8:14Connor Wood?

I will take that. No, I'll take that and I will run with it and I will agree with you. Luckily, it was also so expensive.

• 8:21Brooke Averick?

  Thank God.

• 8:23Connor Wood?

Yeah. The coffee was good though. What are you gonna do?

• 8:25Brooke Averick?

  Yeah.

• 8:26Connor Wood?

Someone said, she, I don't, I couldn't totally understand what she, the waitress was saying today, but she mentioned turning over a new leaf. And I was like, I don't know you well enough for you to know if I have, if I'm, if I'm going, moving forward with a new leaf today. But I don't.

• 8:44Brooke Averick?

  What was the context?

• 8:45Connor Wood?

  What?

• 8:45Brooke Averick?

What were we, what was the context?

• 8:47Connor Wood?

It was like blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. You're turning over a new leaf, blah, blah, blah. Can I get you a box? And I was like, no box. Um, but I don't really know what she meant by new leaf. I actually don't even totally understand that phrase.

• 9:04Brooke Averick?

You know, I was thinking about it as you were talking about it. I wonder if leaf in this circumstance is talking about like a page in a book.

• 9:13Connor Wood?

  So like a leaflet?

• 9:15Brooke Averick?

Well, leaf is another way to say page, I think.

• 9:19Connor Wood?

  Is it?

• 9:19Brooke Averick?

I don't, like, I think in this circumstance, yeah.

• 9:22Connor Wood?

  Okay, bookworm.

• 9:23Brooke Averick?

No, not really, because I could be wrong.

• 9:26Connor Wood?

  Can we look up?

• 9:27Brooke Averick?

  As I often am.

• 9:28Connor Wood?

The, the, uh, origin of turning over a new leaf. Wow, I just got a massive headache luckily.

• 9:37Brooke Averick?

  Do you see that?

• 9:38Connor Wood?

The idiom, turning over a new leaf originates from the 16th century, when the pages of a book were called leaves.

• 9:45Brooke Averick?

I'm right, like so rarely that when I am, it's like this full body, like tingling. It feels so good.

• 9:52Connor Wood?

It metaphorically means turning to a fresh blank page to start anew, symbolizing a positive change in behavior or a fresh start in life. Not a literal tree leaf. Okay. Well, I was thinking flip it over, flipping over all these leaves to see if you find like a roly poly. Turning over a new leaf.

• 10:10Brooke Averick?

That could work too. Like you don't know what you're gonna find on the other side.

• 10:13Connor Wood?

Yeah, what could be under there?

• 10:16Connor Wood?

Keeping an, keeping an open mind.

• 10:20Connor Wood?

And also, something bad could happen.

• 10:22Brooke Averick?

  Yeah.

• 10:23Connor Wood?

When you turn over that new leaf.

• 10:25Brooke Averick?

  Yeah.

• 10:25Connor Wood?

Sometimes it's like, appreciate the leaf that you already turned over and appreciate what you got. Cause they pay, they pay.

• 10:33Brooke Averick?

I feel like that, like meaning, like that thing would be better, like turning over a new rock.

• 10:38Brooke Averick?

Like, I'm gonna just like fuck around and see what happens.

• 10:41Connor Wood?

  Yeah.

• 10:43Brooke Averick?

Whereas turning over a new leaf is more like fresh blank page, turning over a new rock, like I'm, I'm like ready to like, try new things and fuck around. And like be open to the outcome.

• 10:55Connor Wood?

I just got like such a headache.

• 10:59Brooke Averick?

Do you think you're gonna be okay?

• 11:01Connor Wood?

It is something that I'm thinking about.

• 11:03Brooke Averick?

I wonder if it's sympathy pains with my stomach, which I've been trying not to say anything about.

• 11:07Connor Wood?

Okay, I'm gonna try to ignore it.

• 11:09Brooke Averick?

No, I, that wasn't telling you that you should be quiet about your headache. I'm just saying like my, part of my New Year's resolution is to not say every time I'm not, I'm experiencing a physical ailment.

• 11:19Connor Wood?

  Oh, I like that.

• 11:21Brooke Averick?

Yeah. So that's the only reason that you don't know my stomach hurts yet.

• 11:24Connor Wood?

  I wanna do.

• 11:25Brooke Averick?

  And now you do.

• 11:27Connor Wood?

Now I do. But I'll forget.

• 11:30Brooke Averick?

You know why I think my stomach hurts every morning? And it's something that I'm not willing to change about myself.

• 11:36Connor Wood?

  Yeah.

• 11:37Brooke Averick?

I do think there's legitimacy to like, maybe it not being great that coffee by itself is the first thing you put in your system, especially with the coffee mate that I use. I'm doing, uh, the, I'm doing hazelnut, French vanilla, or the pumpkin spice coffee mate every, every single morning for as long as we both shall live.

• 11:57Connor Wood?

  Yeah.

• 11:58Brooke Averick?

And I, there's that, that, the first thing going in my body being like caffeine and just like a tablespoon of like pure chemical.

• 12:06Connor Wood?

  Right.

• 12:06Brooke Averick?

  That, my stomach's gonna hurt.

• 12:09Connor Wood?

It's like going to the county fair every morning.

• 12:12Brooke Averick?

I wouldn't go that far, but like, it's not good.

• 12:15Connor Wood?

I mean, I do black coffee and they say that that's not even great to be the first thing they put in your body.

• 12:19Brooke Averick?

Right, it makes sense to me.

• 12:22Connor Wood?

Today I was, I was on Struggle Bus City, USA, population one. This is my stop and getting off. Actually, I'm staying on because I'm still on the struggle bus. Could not wake my ass up.

• 12:31Brooke Averick?

  Connor, me neither.

• 12:34Connor Wood?

  It's something about January 14th.

• 12:37Brooke Averick?

January? I grew up always dreading February and feeling like February was the worst month. I am starting to change my tune a little bit. I think January is pretty damn bad.

• 12:50Connor Wood?

We were doing like an MD Foodie Boys thing, but I do feel exactly what you mean. And I'm gonna, I'm gonna voice that. I'm gonna voice that.

• 12:58Brooke Averick?

Saying January is bad, which is like the most like universal opinion. I do see what you mean.

• 13:06Connor Wood?

I see what you mean. Not only that, I'm gonna echo it.

• 13:10Brooke Averick?

  Yeah.

• 13:10Connor Wood?

10 toes down with my chest. I'm gonna echo, January is effed up.

• 13:16Connor Wood?

Um, February, silent but deadly. It's like sneaking up upon us so quietly, but it's gonna smack us in the ass. It's the same way that I, like everyone's like, ugh, Mondays.

• 13:29Connor Wood?

Tuesdays suck. Mondays are, Mondays, we villainize Mondays so much and then they happen and they're over. And it's like, oh, and Tuesdays come around and it's like.

• 13:37Brooke Averick?

Tuesdays are the worst in the same way that Thursdays are the best.

• 13:41Connor Wood?

  Yes.

• 13:41Brooke Averick?

  Yes.

• 13:43Connor Wood?

Tuesdays are like these silent killers and they're just like, Tuesdays are dreadful.

• 13:48Brooke Averick?

Dreadful. Cause they give you that false hope of like, okay, you made a decision to say, but like, guess what? Look how much further you have to go.

• 13:56Connor Wood?

Brooke, do you want to get chills?

• 13:58Brooke Averick?

  Do I?

• 13:59Connor Wood?

Think about a workday and it's 3:30 PM on a Tuesday.

• 14:05Brooke Averick?

I feel like 2:30 would be a lot worse.

• 14:08Connor Wood?

Oh my God, my headache came back when I said 3:30 PM on a Tuesday. There's just no point to it being 3:30 on a Tuesday.

• 14:12Brooke Averick?

You know what doesn't resonate with me? 3:30 is always dismissal time.

• 14:16Connor Wood?

  Hmm.

• 14:18Brooke Averick?

You know, the worst time was?

• 14:20Connor Wood?

  Hmm.

• 14:20Brooke Averick?

  Like 11 something.

• 14:23Connor Wood?

  That's almost lunch.

• 14:26Brooke Averick?

  Lunch wasn't like a break.

• 14:28Connor Wood?

  Oh, for you.

• 14:29Brooke Averick?

For me, yeah. It was almost like the worst part.

• 14:33Connor Wood?

I had one day, it was like 4:42 and I was like, I wonder if I hold my breath. As long as I can until I pass out and I'll wake up and it'll be after five. I had the thought, I was like, what if I pass out? And it'll be tomorrow.

• 14:46Brooke Averick?

That's so funny Connor, because I just started writing again.

• 14:50Brooke Averick?

And I wrote a line about that, like pretty much verbatim.

• 14:53Connor Wood?

What, if I hold my breath?

• 14:54Brooke Averick?

It's about like holding your breath and like passing out and like waking up when things are a little bit better.

• 14:59Connor Wood?

  Love that.

• 15:00Brooke Averick?

  Yeah. Oh, I love that.

• 15:02Connor Wood?

Oh, and I. Yeah, I do too. Congrats on getting back into the books.

• 15:08Brooke Averick?

I wouldn't even call it that.

• 15:11Connor Wood?

  Any.

• 15:12Brooke Averick?

Everyone that always asking like, how do you write a book? Baby, I don't know.

• 15:17Connor Wood?

  You do know, however.

• 15:19Brooke Averick?

  I'd used to. I definitely.

• 15:22Connor Wood?

  You know what?

• 15:22Brooke Averick?

But like, it's not the same thing twice.

• 15:25Connor Wood?

I just saw the coolest thing.

• 15:26Brooke Averick?

  What?

• 15:27Connor Wood?

  It was an image.

• 15:31Connor Wood?

And it was essentially like the snowball effect. And it was kind of like, even if you're doing small, little things, like you've started writing, maybe you don't like, whatever. It doesn't feel like much, but little things they build upon themselves. And then.

• 15:46Brooke Averick?

  That's so true.

• 15:48Connor Wood?

Yeah, and it can also happen backwards too. So like, every day that you don't do something, like it builds momentum backwards, which is also scary. So I think any, anything that you do, moving yourself, progressing yourself forward, it insists upon itself and it builds upon itself, which is cool. That's exciting.

• 16:06Brooke Averick?

  True.

• 16:08Brooke Averick?

  And that's, I know I just said I don't know how to write a book, which I don't.

• 16:12Connor Wood?

  Right.

• 16:12Brooke Averick?

Jen, Jen, right now, but that is like how you do it. Once I remember how to do it, it's like, I think this is how I wrote Phoebe.

• 16:23Brooke Averick?

You just write a bunch of like literal shit like you literally like brain dump like it doesn't even have to be English like very small like building block. Like poop poop poop poop poop poop but like you're putting something on the paper.

• 16:36Connor Wood?

  Yeah.

• 16:36Brooke Averick?

  Okay.

• 16:37Connor Wood?

  Sure.

• 16:38Brooke Averick?

Then you go back and you at least make it like, okay, these are ideas that I once had, like, let's make them complete sentences. Okay. That's step two. And then step three is like, okay, these are complete sentences, but they're like not well written. So then you make them well written. That's step three. And then you go back again and then step four is like making them funny and like have personality.

• 17:02Connor Wood?

  That is so interesting.

• 17:03Brooke Averick?

So it's like a four step process if I'm remembering correctly. Um, but right now I'm just doing poop poop poop poop poop poop.

• 17:11Connor Wood?

  Brain dump.

• 17:12Brooke Averick?

  Yeah.

• 17:13Connor Wood?

Um. So funny. I think people must have different styles because I told you recently when I write like stand up. When I write a joke, I see the joke as a shape.

• 17:23Brooke Averick?

  Oh, so you have, um.

• 17:24Connor Wood?

I have what Cynthia Revio has.

• 17:26Brooke Averick?

  Yes. Synesthesia.

• 17:29Connor Wood?

  Yeah, in so many words.

• 17:30Brooke Averick?

  You have.

• 17:31Connor Wood?

  But like I see that.

• 17:32Brooke Averick?

  Comedian synesthesia.

• 17:33Connor Wood?

I see the structure of a joke and it's like there's layers and they're like.

• 17:37Brooke Averick?

That must mean that's what you're born to be doing.

• 17:40Connor Wood?

  Yeah.

• 17:41Brooke Averick?

  Right?

• 17:41Connor Wood?

  Hopefully.

• 17:41Brooke Averick?

  You wouldn't see that if.

• 17:45Brooke Averick?

Your DNA didn't. Have those capabilities.

• 17:48Connor Wood?

I truly think what I was born to do was like soak in a hot tub with like a bowl of ice cream.

• 17:55Connor Wood?

I know that you're and I know that you're falling. I think you're falling closely behind me.

• 18:00Brooke Averick?

  Yeah.

• 18:00Connor Wood?

I got, I got my year ago today Snapchat when I sent you that Snapchat where I had had. Um, it was in the same evening that these two things happened. One. I'm eating my, my cookies and cream ice cream and I was like, whoa, Nellie, big Oreo coming.

• 18:19Brooke Averick?

It was that one you were like, I made my own ice cream and then I thought you turned it.

• 18:23Connor Wood?

This is really, it's close. But I, I was working. I had the whole pint on the couch. It's just like such a. Such an interesting route to take, but I. I'm like, whoa, that's a big Oreo, big one, like, oh, reeling it in. I'm, I'm chipping away like the miners used to at this Oreo. I'm like, oh, gonna, gonna, gonna, gonna get it. I was, I was fully digging through the bottom of the carton. I was hitting the bottom and I thought I was hitting this like

• 18:51Brooke Averick?

  Oh, I remember that.

• 18:52Connor Wood?

Gold. I'm working, I'm working at this Oreo for, for minutes. And then I'm like, oh my god.

• 18:58Brooke Averick?

It feels like a metaphor for something big.

• 19:01Connor Wood?

  Brooke, let's think about that.

• 19:04Brooke Averick?

  I don't, I don't know if I have the capacity.

• 19:07Connor Wood?

Yeah, I don't, I don't really either. Maybe someone else could.

• 19:09Brooke Averick?

Maybe in the bonus, we can really like hone that in.

• 19:13Connor Wood?

Yeah, like we could unpack it a bit.

• 19:14Brooke Averick?

But that is like, that means something.

• 19:16Connor Wood?

  We get a little Philly.

• 19:17Brooke Averick?

Maybe just stop working so hard because all you're doing is puncturing the bottom of an ice cream carton. Just chill.

• 19:24Connor Wood?

Maybe this thing that you're working so hard for, like you weren't meant to have another Oreo.

• 19:30Brooke Averick?

  Just relax.

• 19:31Connor Wood?

Yeah, maybe just like, take a step back, acknowledge the space that you're in instead of yearning for something that technically doesn't exist, you know?

• 19:41Brooke Averick?

Oh, I love that. That's great.

• 20:42Brooke Averick?

Can I ask you a personal question?

• 20:44Connor Wood?

Wait, can I really quickly say the other thing that happened to me that night?

• 20:46Brooke Averick?

  Sure.

• 20:48Connor Wood?

I was watching TV and like 11 minutes into the show, I realized it was in Spanish.

• 20:52Brooke Averick?

This, oh yeah, I was about to say this has happened to you before.

• 20:55Connor Wood?

  That was that same evening?

• 20:56Brooke Averick?

  Okay, got it.

• 20:58Connor Wood?

  Okay.

• 20:59Brooke Averick?

  Oh, wait.

• 20:59Connor Wood?

  I was like.

• 21:00Brooke Averick?

How are people doing that thing on Instagram? It's like 2016 posts and they're reposting them?

• 21:06Connor Wood?

I don't know what you mean.

• 21:08Brooke Averick?

Every, is it like just, are you seeing this, Izzy?

• 21:10Speaker 04

  Yeah.

• 21:10Brooke Averick?

Everybody's posting just like their photos from 2016.

• 21:14Connor Wood?

Yeah, I know that, but like, what do you mean? They're just posting photo, are you, do you, they're just posting?

• 21:18Brooke Averick?

No, how was everybody having like? No, they're not. I feel like it was like something that like came up in Instagram, like, do you want to post your photos from 2016?

• 21:26Connor Wood?

  Oh, no.

• 21:27Brooke Averick?

Cause everyone's doing it so, why is every single person doing it? No, why is, why would everyone just be going out of their way to get photos from 2016?

• 21:34Connor Wood?

  I think it's like a fun thing that everyone's.

• 21:36Brooke Averick?

Oh, I thought it was just like an option that Instagram was like, do you want this? Like? And Instagram wrapped of sorts.

• 21:43Connor Wood?

No, I think that everyone's going to their Facebooks and stuff.

• 21:46Brooke Averick?

  Are you serious?

• 21:47Connor Wood?

  Yeah.

• 21:48Brooke Averick?

  Izzy, is that the truth?

• 21:50Speaker 04

  I think so.

• 21:51Brooke Averick?

Oh, I thought I was like looking all over for this 2016 button.

• 21:56Connor Wood?

I love that people are yearning for 2016, like it wasn't two years ago.

• 21:59Brooke Averick?

Is that? Oh, are they people doing it because it was, it's the 10 year anniversary of 2016?

• 22:06Connor Wood?

I think it was kind of like a Tumblr vibe. Everyone was like, oh my gosh, look at my, look at, I'm in a sorority in 2016. Look at my

• 22:16Connor Wood?

  hair.

• 22:17Brooke Averick?

I'm gonna start using Tumblr again. Like, this is a joke. Why wouldn't I?

• 22:20Connor Wood?

That it's in, I don't think that the site is operating.

• 22:23Brooke Averick?

  Yes, it is.

• 22:24Connor Wood?

  Oh, is it?

• 22:24Brooke Averick?

Oh, my Tumblr's still up and running.

• 22:27Connor Wood?

  Wow.

• 22:28Brooke Averick?

  I think.

• 22:29Connor Wood?

  That's pretty neat.

• 22:30Brooke Averick?

  Let me see.

• 22:33Connor Wood?

Oh, that was a, those were the days.

• 22:35Brooke Averick?

  Those were

• 22:38Brooke Averick?

  the days.

• 22:39Connor Wood?

Things, things used to be so simple to get a note. I'm sure that was just a rush.

• 22:45Brooke Averick?

Yeah, it's still up. Wow. This is a moment in time.

• 22:51Brooke Averick?

We've got like right off the bat, Matthew Gray-Goobler. Evan Peters, graffiti.

• 22:59Connor Wood?

Wow. Overalls. There's gotta be some denim on that page.

• 23:04Brooke Averick?

These pants are so ugly. And then a screenshot from Yik Yak. A bookshelf, a lot of friends.

• 23:14Brooke Averick?

Sushi, a lot of sushi. A bra made out of lettuce. I thought I was being so funny, probably.

• 23:20Connor Wood?

  No, you're being random.

• 23:21Brooke Averick?

Yeah, I was being so random.

• 23:24Connor Wood?

Do you think that, could you see a world where being random comes back into the zeitgeist?

• 23:28Brooke Averick?

We've tried it a few times between the two of us. And it hasn't come back.

• 23:34Connor Wood?

What do you mean? You and I have tried being random?

• 23:36Brooke Averick?

We've tried just to be like that so random.

• 23:40Connor Wood?

Yeah, we've said it, but it was facetious. It wasn't like-

• 23:42Brooke Averick?

No, we were being serious. Like, we were trying to bring it back.

• 23:46Connor Wood?

  We were earnestly being random?

• 23:48Brooke Averick?

  Yes, 100%.

• 23:49Connor Wood?

No, random is like, I, Carly, like-

• 23:51Brooke Averick?

No, Connor, I'm, we've probably even had an episode called "That's So Random", featuring Sonny with a Chance.

• 23:59Connor Wood?

  Izzy, this, we didn't have-

• 24:01Brooke Averick?

We've, I'm not saying that we've had an episode called it, but we definitely have spoken about it. Heavily.

• 24:08Connor Wood?

  About the randomness of-

• 24:11Brooke Averick?

Random. We've tried bringing random back, I promise. It didn't work, it didn't work.

• 24:16Connor Wood?

Random is like, oh my gosh. Random, I'm trying to think of like, I, like, pulling a chick, pulling a rubber chicken out of my pants right now. And not acknowledging it, like, that's random.

• 24:27Brooke Averick?

Yeah, but that's not necessarily what random was in 2016.

• 24:31Connor Wood?

Do you think that comedy itself has, has further developed? And like, has had, like, an evolution to where, like, if I pulled a chicken out of my pants, you'd be, it actually would be so unfunny? That it wouldn't even be worth acknowledging? You know what I mean?

• 24:46Brooke Averick?

No, I think that there's a thing as being so unfunny that it's funny.

• 24:51Connor Wood?

  Sure.

• 24:53Brooke Averick?

Which is maybe what this podcast is. And why we've made it so far.

• 24:58Connor Wood?

We are having a little bit of like a rebirth. I don't know what happened recently, but I'm having a lot of people be like, oh, I listened to a little bit of an episode.

• 25:08Brooke Averick?

Like Pat tense, like I used to listen to you.

• 25:11Connor Wood?

I did actually see someone today that was like, I haven't watched in ages, but I used to love this show. I'm like, used to love this show?

• 25:17Brooke Averick?

  Yeah.

• 25:18Connor Wood?

  We don't, it's not playing.

• 25:19Brooke Averick?

We're old enough to totally have a used to love this show.

• 25:22Connor Wood?

  What?

• 25:23Brooke Averick?

We've been around long enough for that to be like a thing. I used to watch that.

• 25:27Connor Wood?

  It's been four years.

• 25:29Brooke Averick?

  Don't say that.

• 25:30Connor Wood?

It has, because our, our like Brooke and Connor, one year, we took a picture with that cake next to the dumpster for some reason.

• 25:36Brooke Averick?

  Yeah.

• 25:38Connor Wood?

Like we have any place in the world.

• 25:39Brooke Averick?

And that was three years ago?

• 25:41Connor Wood?

We walked out to the parking lot by the dumpster and posed.

• 25:44Brooke Averick?

But this is the best we can do?

• 25:46Connor Wood?

  Like, we chose that.

• 25:47Brooke Averick?

  Yeah.

• 25:47Connor Wood?

  That was a random.

• 25:49Brooke Averick?

That was random. That was random.

• 25:51Connor Wood?

  That was random.

• 25:53Brooke Averick?

  That was extremely random.

• 25:56Connor Wood?

Touch my butt and buy me pizza.

• 25:59Brooke Averick?

  Is that random?

• 26:00Connor Wood?

No, I don't think so. I think that's like the live, laugh, love of quotes for Tumblr era.

• 26:06Brooke Averick?

  Oh, I haven't seen that.

• 26:08Connor Wood?

  Finger mustache.

• 26:09Brooke Averick?

Oh, the finger mustache? An American flag tank?

• 26:13Connor Wood?

Yeah. Big frame glasses with like a Mickey Mouse smoking a blunt t-shirt.

• 26:20Brooke Averick?

Yeah, I get that. Wait, I still want to ask you a personal question.

• 26:23Connor Wood?

  Oh, go ahead, please.

• 26:24Brooke Averick?

  Oh, we're the Golden Globes.

• 26:28Connor Wood?

Never in my life have I had a more fabulous evening.

• 26:35Brooke Averick?

I didn't know where that was gonna go. That's amazing.

• 26:38Connor Wood?

I have no notes. It was the most, it was the coolest thing I've ever done. It was just like everybody.

• 26:43Brooke Averick?

So you were really just there as like talent?

• 26:46Connor Wood?

  Yeah.

• 26:48Brooke Averick?

  Wow, that's so.

• 26:49Connor Wood?

It was, I mean, it was pinch me moment, and it truly was.

• 26:54Connor Wood?

It was like legit, guys, it was like legit.

• 26:58Brooke Averick?

Can you give us like the seven top highlights?

• 27:01Connor Wood?

Um, I mean, the carpet was amazing. The room was amazing. It was it was bizarre just seeing the, the level of celebrity that was in, like on the carpet.

• 27:10Brooke Averick?

And who did you see that you were like, holy shit, holy shit? Like, that's a person in the flesh right now?

• 27:16Connor Wood?

  Well, we.

• 27:19Connor Wood?

We, so like, we didn't sit in the banquet room.

• 27:21Brooke Averick?

When you say we, are you talking about you and Dylan?

• 27:23Connor Wood?

  Dylan and I, yeah.

• 27:24Brooke Averick?

  Dylan and I, excuse me.

• 27:28Connor Wood?

Yeah, we, we hung out. I was kinda like, I don't, I'm alone, and I, I was like, I don't wanna do any of this alone. Like, will you, like, can you stay? Cause we were gonna go to, I wanted to, what?

• 27:41Brooke Averick?

  Sorry.

• 27:42Connor Wood?

  I can't hear you.

• 27:44Brooke Averick?

  I just say, "Carry me."

• 27:46Connor Wood?

  He could carry me.

• 27:47Brooke Averick?

I know, that's why I said, "Carry me."

• 27:51Connor Wood?

Yeah, and then we, afterwards, we went to Nikki Glaser's.

• 27:54Brooke Averick?

I, I don't wanna get there yet. I wanna talk about being in the room at the Golden Globes.

• 27:58Connor Wood?

Well, the Golden, I mean, it was amazing. So basically, like, we're in this room with all of, the room that the actual Golden Globes take place in, the award ceremony, is very small.

• 28:08Brooke Averick?

  Okay.

• 28:09Connor Wood?

  There's no room to put-

• 28:10Brooke Averick?

  You'd never know.

• 28:11Connor Wood?

  Someone of my stature.

• 28:16Connor Wood?

And so, it's, I mean, it's like Miley Cyrus, the heated rivalry boys, like-

• 28:21Brooke Averick?

Who, by the way, did you lay eyes on them at all?

• 28:24Connor Wood?

I saw them from a distance, yeah.

• 28:25Brooke Averick?

Oh my god, what was it like?

• 28:29Connor Wood?

I wanna tell you something in a second, cause I gotta get to Nikki's party.

• 28:33Brooke Averick?

  We're still at the Globes.

• 28:35Connor Wood?

Nothing really happened. Well, essentially, we're in this, we're in this-

• 28:37Brooke Averick?

You saw the boys from across the room.

• 28:39Connor Wood?

Yeah, but I, I wasn't in the same room as them. I didn't, I, I didn't see them at the actual Globes.

• 28:43Brooke Averick?

Oh, you saw them at the after-party?

• 28:45Connor Wood?

  Yes.

• 28:46Brooke Averick?

Okay, that's my misunderstanding. So, let's go to the after-party. Let's go to the after-party.

• 28:51Connor Wood?

Well, we, we watched, basically, the, the Globes live in real time from like fifty feet away, and in like the room next door to the actual Globes. And it was a fabulous event. They put on a great thing. Um, but it was basically everyone's teams were in there, and then like Dylan and I. But it was really cool. I talked to, I don't know if I can say it, Jonathan Bailey's manager.

• 29:15Brooke Averick?

  What did you say?

• 29:17Connor Wood?

Well, he came up to me and my friend Ollie-

• 29:19Brooke Averick?

  And what did he say?

• 29:20Connor Wood?

He goes, "Are you two actors?" And I was like, "No, I want to. It'd be nice to be. Hell, I, hell, I'd do a lot to get a callback." And he said, "You really look like it, blah, blah, blah." And then, um, we're talking about TikTok, and he's like, "Oh, Johnny always keeps sending me TikToks."

• 29:39Brooke Averick?

I love the way people call him Johnny.

• 29:41Connor Wood?

And he- Proceeds to pull up Johnny's texts and I had to, we had to set up his TikTok for him. So you could watch the TikToks that Johnny sends.

• 29:52Connor Wood?

And I was like, I would like to

• 29:54Brooke Averick?

  My eyes are

• 29:55Connor Wood?

  Chat further.

• 29:56Brooke Averick?

  My eyes are welling up.

• 29:57Connor Wood?

I know. It was really cool.

• 30:00Brooke Averick?

Oh yeah. Let me just help you set up TikTok so that we can watch the TikToks that Johnny sends you on your personal device that you're holding in your hand with Johnny's phone number, him texting you, you looking at that.

• 30:12Connor Wood?

  I mean, like

• 30:13Brooke Averick?

What was his name and his phone? Was it Johnny?

• 30:15Connor Wood?

I didn't look. I was about to say like, it was, I was so overwhelmed via you, via osmosis, like

• 30:21Brooke Averick?

I like, I'm actually wiping tears.

• 30:24Connor Wood?

How much you care about Jonathan Bailey and I'm here talking to someone that has this, like is a close friend, a comrade?

• 30:32Brooke Averick?

Yeah. No, I've spoken with people that like work with him before and whenever they're like just Johnny, like I have to like stifle a like, like it's like, like it's crazy to hear. I love the guy.

• 30:47Connor Wood?

  Yeah.

• 30:48Brooke Averick?

  More than life itself.

• 30:49Connor Wood?

  And yeah.

• 30:50Brooke Averick?

Thank you for even feeling that a little bit in your body.

• 30:54Connor Wood?

  Of course. Um.

• 30:57Brooke Averick?

Pray to never meet the same person. That's all I can say.

• 31:01Connor Wood?

  We had supper and What?

• 31:03Brooke Averick?

  He was there.

• 31:03Connor Wood?

I know. I know. That's why his team was there.

• 31:05Brooke Averick?

  Yeah.

• 31:07Brooke Averick?

  Oh yeah. Oh yeah.

• 31:11Connor Wood?

Um, and then we just had supper and we went to the after party and the after party was just

• 31:14Brooke Averick?

  What was for supper?

• 31:16Connor Wood?

Um, like a braised beef and I had a, I had, it was basically small bites, but I did eat like six or seven of each. The, the beef was amazing. Um, grilled cheese was nothing to write home about. Um.

• 31:34Connor Wood?

And then like there was like snacks. I didn't, we didn't get the no boo from that was being served inside.

• 31:42Brooke Averick?

I didn't know that was an option.

• 31:44Connor Wood?

Yes, Mr. Matuhisa was actually physically there serving everyone in the room, which is cool. Um, and then we went to the after party and it was just like amazing. And I sent you a picture with me and Milo hung out a little bit.

• 31:58Brooke Averick?

I am so proud of him.

• 32:00Connor Wood?

He's just such salt of the earth, man.

• 32:03Brooke Averick?

I mean, that's my Flynn. Which that is crazy. Like, obviously, like, he's been in the talks for that for a while. But like, the fact that we were talking about that was in the bonus last episode?

• 32:13Connor Wood?

No, it was, I think it was in the main. We were talking about him being up for Flynn. And then that day, it was announced that he is Flynn. He's so funny. So we're talking and obviously like, I'm doing that thing where I'm just like, I'm talking to him, but I'm looking around. I'm constantly heads on a swivel because I want to like, look at everybody. And he keeps mentioning, I'm working on a movie and working on a movie. And I like, never connected that. He's talking about Tangled, like, the movie that he's working on. I was like, that is so cool. He's just like the best that

• 32:43Brooke Averick?

  I would have been so

• 32:44Connor Wood?

It's so casual, the conversations that he has. I saw Brittany, Brittany was there. Um, I got to fix my relationship with Seth Rogen, which was nice.

• 32:56Brooke Averick?

  Oh, did you?

• 32:58Connor Wood?

  Yes.

• 33:00Brooke Averick?

  How, how did that go?

• 33:04Connor Wood?

Well, Milo was like, oh, my gosh, I like, really like, want to talk to him. And I was like, let's go. It's like a pretty casual thing. And they're chatting and I was just like, hey, Connor, like blah, blah. He's like, oh, like, we start chatting.

• 33:16Brooke Averick?

  He remembered you?

• 33:17Connor Wood?

He did not. Thank God. I think it was so, that moment was so fleeting and horrible that like, I'm sure he blacked it out, too. Um, but this was a lovely interaction. We had a great time. Very casual. Um, it was cool. It was just like, it was like, very, it was like,

• 33:37Connor Wood?

It was like a great time, like I, like for the first time ever, I was like, and I know a lot of people, like I, I, I chatted with Lisa Ann Walter for a little bit because we had that, we had a show together, Lisa Ann and I, a long time ago, and I really, it's one of those that I bombed and it stuck with me. And like, it was one of those where I had a second show right after the show that I did at the, at the Hollywood Improv. And it was Hollywood, and I did the show and she was up next and I walked off and I was just like bummed. And she goes, "Baby, you killed that," and gave me a hug. And I was like, "Oh my gosh, it's so nice that Lisa Ann Walter is lying to me right now. Like, that's actually so chessy of her," you know?

• 34:14Brooke Averick?

  Yeah.

• 34:15Connor Wood?

And I saw her at the party and I was like, "I, you probably don't remember, but like, you were so nice to me. You're the reason I didn't crash my car into the ditch after that show." And she was just like, gave me so much comedy advice.

• 34:30Brooke Averick?

  What an amazing woman.

• 34:32Connor Wood?

She's so awesome. I met, she was with Janelle James. They were like hanging out.

• 34:38Connor Wood?

But it was so cool. I have more that I want to say in the bonus. I'm just gonna hold off on it.

• 34:42Brooke Averick?

Wait, so, sorry, you did see the, the boys?

• 34:45Connor Wood?

Get this, I turn and I see Hudson.

• 34:50Connor Wood?

And then I blink and he's gone, because he had gone, there was a second party, I think at Chateau Marmont. And that's like where the, that's where the big dogs went.

• 34:59Brooke Averick?

  That's the big one?

• 35:00Connor Wood?

Yeah, but I mean, this, this, this Nikki Glaser's party was it. Like, that was the one to be at.

• 35:08Brooke Averick?

  And you were there?

• 35:08Connor Wood?

  It was fabulous.

• 35:10Brooke Averick?

  Wow, you didn't see Connor?

• 35:12Connor Wood?

  I did not.

• 35:13Brooke Averick?

  But you saw him?

• 35:14Connor Wood?

I saw him, I saw him from a distance, leaving, like exiting, the Globes.

• 35:20Connor Wood?

Because we were going the other way. But, um, no, I didn't see him at the party, but Hudson was there.

• 35:25Brooke Averick?

Wow. It's crazy to think like you just like, had such an amazing casual night and like I would have been in the hospital 16 times over.

• 35:34Connor Wood?

That's what I was gonna say.

• 35:35Brooke Averick?

Based off of everything you experienced.

• 35:36Connor Wood?

That's what I was gonna say, is like, this is like, I'm, I'm turning over in New Rock right now, like, I was, I had no feeling like I need to go grab Sombra and get a photo with Sombra. It's like, I'll see Sombra again, you know?

• 35:52Brooke Averick?

I will see Somber again. Someone's awfully confident they'll see Somber again.

• 35:57Connor Wood?

Well, that's my new mindset is like, I'm not gonna, there's no reason to rush. I'll see him.

• 36:02Brooke Averick?

Good for you. Good for you.

• 36:04Connor Wood?

  Yeah.

• 36:05Brooke Averick?

  That sounds amazing.

• 36:06Connor Wood?

And I don't, I hope that by talking about this on this podcast, it's like fun insight and not like, oh, he is spilling things that like, he's not getting invited into another room like that. But I think of this as light and.

• 36:18Brooke Averick?

No, I don't think he spilled anything inappropriate. But

• 36:24Brooke Averick?

  that sounds awesome.

• 36:25Connor Wood?

  It was just lovely.

• 37:56Brooke Averick?

I will say, I was watching the Globes. Um, on the TV with a, you know, group of friends and like about the halfway point, I got a notification on my phone. Phoebe attacked me in a story and I was so convinced. I had Connor, I got an immediate like diarrhea pit.

• 38:13Connor Wood?

  Oh, no.

• 38:15Brooke Averick?

  I was like.

• 38:16Connor Wood?

But like, how much better was the surprise when you opened your phone?

• 38:19Brooke Averick?

No, it would. I was like, he is with the heated rivalry boys right now and I'm not opening this. Like I, like I need time. And then everyone was like, no, Brooke, open it. And it was that, it was this picture of Dylan reading Phoebe.

• 38:35Brooke Averick?

Which Connor, that was the most special image.

• 38:39Connor Wood?

  I mean.

• 38:41Brooke Averick?

You know, like how people put blurbs on the front of books, like author quotes that are like, oh, brilliant, fascinating, like a page turner. I want this. Like on the cover. And that's the blurb. Like that's what's selling the book.

• 38:53Connor Wood?

You need to get this young man an audiobook stat.

• 38:56Brooke Averick?

I know. I told him I would just record the whole thing in my voice memos.

• 39:02Connor Wood?

  Oh, my gosh.

• 39:03Brooke Averick?

But um, I'm shocked at how late the whole audiobook process is done. Like we have not even spoken about that for Phoebe.

• 39:11Connor Wood?

Yeah, that's interesting. I feel like it should be done pretty much.

• 39:14Brooke Averick?

I feel like it should be done. But I don't know. I guess it only takes like a few days.

• 39:20Connor Wood?

Yeah. I've done one audiobook voice.

• 39:22Brooke Averick?

  Yeah.

• 39:24Connor Wood?

  It, it took two days.

• 39:26Brooke Averick?

Oh, and you didn't have, how, like you were a chapter in that?

• 39:30Connor Wood?

No, I was a, I was like the.

• 39:32Brooke Averick?

Oh, you were the MC. You were the MMC?

• 39:35Connor Wood?

  What's MMC?

• 39:36Brooke Averick?

  Male main character.

• 39:38Connor Wood?

Yeah, I was. I was an MMC.

• 39:39Brooke Averick?

  Oh, that's amazing.

• 39:41Connor Wood?

Yeah, it was fun. Um, I couldn't do an audiobook because I would get on my phone. So that's not going to work for me. I need to actually physically.

• 39:50Connor Wood?

So at the, the Globes, did you, have you seen all the movies that were like nominated or like any of them?

• 39:54Brooke Averick?

Oh, Connor, wait. I'm so slacking on my hoping Nietzsche notes to myself. I saw Marty Supreme.

• 40:01Connor Wood?

  Yes, yay.

• 40:05Connor Wood?

  Let's talk about it.

• 40:05Brooke Averick?

  Yeah.

• 40:07Connor Wood?

  Oh, give me your thoughts.

• 40:08Brooke Averick?

I was not, I was not expecting that.

• 40:13Connor Wood?

  Right.

• 40:14Brooke Averick?

I mean, not one second did I know where that was going, as you said.

• 40:17Connor Wood?

Should we, right now, should we just warn people, let's, let's have a real conversation about it? And let's say skip to here, if you don't.

• 40:24Brooke Averick?

  Okay.

• 40:25Connor Wood?

Okay, right now, spoiler alert, it's probably coming up about Marty Supreme. If you're gonna watch it, fast forward probably two minutes. Go hit me, hit me with one really big dog.

• 40:35Brooke Averick?

  I mean, I think I loved it.

• 40:39Brooke Averick?

  But I.

• 40:39Connor Wood?

  For me?

• 40:40Brooke Averick?

  I don't know.

• 40:42Connor Wood?

I think, I think it requires a rewatch, I'm being serious. Like, I, I wasn't expecting any of it so much that like, it was catching, it didn't let up at all. So I didn't get a second to breathe. Which is like, I couldn't digest any of these like, major, major, major chapters in this movie. And one big note I have, actually, I have so many thoughts. One big note I have is that like, the fact that Marty Supreme, he had no repercussions for any of his actions and he adjacently killed about 11 people. Like, right now, in today's day and age, if you are advised to not get in the hot tub

• 41:23Connor Wood?

or in the bathtub in the room that you rented and it falls through and lands on an old man's arm.

• 41:28Brooke Averick?

I did not like that, that's what I was saying.

• 41:29Connor Wood?

  And his dog.

• 41:29Brooke Averick?

  I did not like that.

• 41:30Connor Wood?

You're gonna be in a, you're gonna be in a lawsuit, if not jail, for 10 years minimum.

• 41:35Brooke Averick?

There should be, before every film, let me know if there's gonna be any like, possible like, animal cruelty or like, animal getting hurt, let me know at the beginning of the film.

• 41:46Connor Wood?

Yeah, the dog, there was no closure about the dog and that bugged me too.

• 41:49Brooke Averick?

  No.

• 41:49Connor Wood?

But I did, I did like where it went. I think, how about Timothy Chalamet, just like.

• 41:55Brooke Averick?

Oscar, I really did think that.

• 41:56Connor Wood?

  Generational talent, we are.

• 42:00Connor Wood?

I don't have a bad word to say about that guy.

• 42:01Brooke Averick?

  I don't.

• 42:02Connor Wood?

  I don't.

• 42:03Brooke Averick?

  I really.

• 42:03Connor Wood?

  Um, I don't have anything. He's, he's, he's phenomenal.

• 42:08Brooke Averick?

  He is.

• 42:08Connor Wood?

He's a once in an eon actor.

• 42:10Brooke Averick?

He is, and he knows it.

• 42:12Connor Wood?

  I know.

• 42:12Brooke Averick?

As he should, as he should.

• 42:15Connor Wood?

  He's just, just incredible.

• 42:17Brooke Averick?

He's so funny too, when he wants to be.

• 42:19Connor Wood?

He's pretty funny. He's just a run of the mill theater kid and now he's made it big and he's wearing Chrome Hearts.

• 42:25Brooke Averick?

  Yeah.

• 42:26Connor Wood?

  And that's like.

• 42:27Brooke Averick?

As he should, as this is right.

• 42:29Connor Wood?

Seeing him and Gwyneth Paltrow intimately blew my.

• 42:34Brooke Averick?

  It felt right.

• 42:35Connor Wood?

My, no, I, I didn't, it, it didn't not feel right to me, but I was just like shook out of guard. I go, oh.

• 42:42Connor Wood?

When she comes in and takes off her blues, her blouse.

• 42:44Brooke Averick?

  Oh, yeah.

• 42:45Connor Wood?

I said, oh, wow, we're doing.

• 42:47Brooke Averick?

  Me, I was like, yeah.

• 42:50Connor Wood?

  Um.

• 42:52Connor Wood?

He was rizzling her up. And then I want you to keep in mind, I watched this movie alone in the theater, like I was sitting alone. And there were two couples next to me and I brought in a burrito, which like, that's a mistake, but I was out of time and I was so hungry. And so I'm eating a burrito, like kind of loudly, it's foil. And there's two couples on both sides of me and I, I keep going, mm. But when the bathtub fell, I go, oh.

• 43:16Brooke Averick?

I hated that. I really hated that.

• 43:19Connor Wood?

Yeah. Anyways, I really like, what is your takeaway at the end of the movie?

• 43:24Brooke Averick?

I sobbed. I guess my takeaway is like, this guy is like, doing everything he can to like, get away from home and like, chase his like, quote unquote, purpose, but he didn't have gone very far. It was right there the whole time.

• 43:39Connor Wood?

Brooke, he was digging for an Oreo that was never there.

• 43:46Brooke Averick?

Oh my God. Yeah. You could say that again.

• 43:50Connor Wood?

He was busting through the bottom of the carton to his demise.

• 43:54Brooke Averick?

  Yeah.

• 43:56Connor Wood?

So you see at the end of the movie, you realize he's now gotten everything he ever wanted. But then he sees his baby boy, or girl, I don't know.

• 44:07Brooke Averick?

  Boy.

• 44:08Connor Wood?

Boy. And he says, none of that matters. It pales in comparison to my son.

• 44:13Brooke Averick?

He's such a good actor because I felt all of that in my own body.

• 44:17Connor Wood?

I love that every time he's written into a movie, the last like minute of the movie is a close up of him sobbing.

• 44:23Brooke Averick?

As it should be. He's, because that's the thing that makes a good actor. Like, I, I got everything that he was telling me, tenfold.

• 44:33Connor Wood?

Yeah, I agree. I thought it was, I was talking to Anna Satar the other day, actually, about Marty Supreme and she, she said that, and I didn't realize that I was also feeling this way. But she said that it was a little upsetting for her to watch Marty Supreme go to, was he in China?

• 44:50Brooke Averick?

  Um, no, Tokyo.

• 44:53Connor Wood?

  That was in Japan?

• 44:54Brooke Averick?

  Hmm.

• 44:55Connor Wood?

Why didn't, oh yeah, it was Tokyo. Um, go to Tokyo and defeat this like national hero.

• 45:02Brooke Averick?

Really upset. Cause also that guy was salt of the earth.

• 45:06Connor Wood?

  He was so kind.

• 45:07Brooke Averick?

He was, but it's weird because like you're, you're rooting for Marty and you're not at the same time.

• 45:12Connor Wood?

I have it. I have it. I have something else. I just realized.

• 45:14Brooke Averick?

  You've got it, Eureka?

• 45:16Connor Wood?

What, yeah. I truly feel like he was the most antagonistic character in the whole movie, even though he's the main character. I like, did not, I was not rooting for him ever.

• 45:29Brooke Averick?

Oh, really? I think that's what like makes him so good is like he's so awful, but like you are kind of rooting for him at the same time.

• 45:37Connor Wood?

  He was so unlikable.

• 45:38Brooke Averick?

Yeah, but also like I love the guy.

• 45:41Connor Wood?

  And then, um, Odessa.

• 45:43Brooke Averick?

  She was fabulous.

• 45:44Connor Wood?

I mean, she's so fucking good. And what, what, one of the crazier twists is when he wipes her, he smudges her makeup of her black eye.

• 45:54Brooke Averick?

  I know. I love that.

• 45:56Connor Wood?

That was something that like completely didn't need to be included in the movie, but changed everything for me.

• 46:03Brooke Averick?

I also, that was just like, you want this guy so badly. Like why? I love it though. She just wanted to be loved so badly. It kind of like broke me.

• 46:18Brooke Averick?

I think that's so like it's just very relatable.

• 46:22Connor Wood?

  That is sad, actually.

• 46:23Brooke Averick?

  Yeah.

• 46:26Brooke Averick?

Like neither her husband or Marty treat her well.

• 46:31Connor Wood?

Yeah, I'm just thinking about how he busted that guy to pulp with that trophy. And the guy didn't even do anything like.

• 46:39Brooke Averick?

Oh, I was shocked that he lived through that.

• 46:42Connor Wood?

I know, that's like brain hemorrhage.

• 46:46Connor Wood?

  I'm having a hot flash.

• 46:47Brooke Averick?

It was really gory in a way that I wasn't expecting. But I think I really liked it. But I agree with Anna Satar, like the him beating the Japanese champion made me really upset.

• 47:02Connor Wood?

No, that was upsetting. But that's life, baby.

• 47:05Brooke Averick?

Such a bad sport, him throwing, hurling the trash can when he lost at the beginning.

• 47:13Brooke Averick?

And then at the end when he won, hey, man, great game, like, love you so much. You're an amazing player.

• 47:20Connor Wood?

He was a bad sport. Oof.

• 47:22Brooke Averick?

He was horrible, but I loved him.

• 47:24Connor Wood?

I'm embarrassed to say that I still haven't seen one battle after another and I don't that one like

• 47:28Brooke Averick?

  I haven't seen.

• 47:29Connor Wood?

  So many awards.

• 47:30Brooke Averick?

I need to see that. What are the other big ones being nominated?

• 47:33Connor Wood?

  Sinners.

• 47:34Brooke Averick?

  Haven't seen sinners.

• 47:36Connor Wood?

  Begonia.

• 47:37Brooke Averick?

I don't want to see that.

• 47:40Connor Wood?

What else? There was a bunch. Um, and then I completely like, obviously the heated rivalry guys are there. But like, I forgot TV is included in the Golden Globes. I forgot you can win a Golden Globe for TV. Pluribus won.

• 47:54Brooke Averick?

I haven't seen that. All the things, I don't think I've seen anything for like this year. Like I've seen a lot of things for the next that will be nominated next year, I think. And by that, I just mean like heated rivalry made, can heated rivalry be nominated for a globe? I know it can't be nominated for an Emmy. Okay, so I, so I haven't seen anything for the upcoming year either. Oh, how about All Her Fault?

• 48:16Connor Wood?

  Oh, dessert.

• 48:17Brooke Averick?

  That'll be nominated.

• 48:19Connor Wood?

  That was nominated.

• 48:22Brooke Averick?

Oh. So forget everything I've said in the past one minute.

• 48:27Connor Wood?

  It was nominated.

• 48:28Brooke Averick?

  I love all her fault.

• 48:29Connor Wood?

  I don't think she won.

• 48:30Brooke Averick?

Oh, yeah. My little baby Milo on the carpet.

• 48:33Connor Wood?

  Yes, Duke MacLeod.

• 48:35Brooke Averick?

Sarah Snook, like if she's at, like, when Sarah Snook is nominated, like, she should be winning.

• 48:41Connor Wood?

No, she didn't. She didn't win, and I actually don't know. I don't know the young woman that she lost to. I'd never heard of her, but I'm a little bit out of the loop with that.

• 48:49Brooke Averick?

  I am too, but I-

• 48:50Connor Wood?

  Oh, guess who I met?

• 48:51Brooke Averick?

  Who?

• 48:52Connor Wood?

  Jason Isaacs.

• 48:54Brooke Averick?

  Jason Isaacs.

• 48:57Connor Wood?

  He's, um-

• 48:59Brooke Averick?

  Jason-

• 48:59Connor Wood?

  In Harry Potter, he's, he's-

• 49:01Brooke Averick?

  Jason Isaacs, Jason Isaacs.

• 49:02Connor Wood?

  Jason Isaacs.

• 49:03Brooke Averick?

  Yep.

• 49:03Connor Wood?

  No-

• 49:04Brooke Averick?

Oh, wow. What'd you two get into?

• 49:06Connor Wood?

I just went up and said hi, and he said hi.

• 49:08Brooke Averick?

  Oh, amazing. You're so friendly.

• 49:13Connor Wood?

Yeah, he was with his family. I was like, I'm sorry, just wanted to say hi. I'm a big fan. And he said, oh, thanks, hi. We shook hands, and then I walked away. Um, he's 62. He looks so good.

• 49:25Connor Wood?

  Wow.

• 49:27Brooke Averick?

62 can look a lot of different ways.

• 49:29Connor Wood?

62 can look several different ways.

• 49:31Brooke Averick?

Yeah. If I know one thing.

• 49:35Connor Wood?

Um, White Lotus was nominated, right?

• 49:38Brooke Averick?

  Yeah.

• 49:42Connor Wood?

  I don't know about that.

• 49:44Brooke Averick?

What do you mean? White Lotus is always gonna be nominated.

• 49:46Connor Wood?

  Really?

• 49:47Brooke Averick?

  I would've s- yeah, it's White Lotus.

• 49:49Connor Wood?

I guess the acting, the acting is pretty phenomenal.

• 49:51Brooke Averick?

  And like-

• 49:52Connor Wood?

  By him.

• 49:52Brooke Averick?

The White Lotus of it all.

• 49:55Connor Wood?

What about that? What do you mean?

• 49:56Brooke Averick?

Just like every single human with a TV is tuning in, and like the way it's filmed is incredible.

• 50:02Connor Wood?

  We need more of that.

• 50:03Brooke Averick?

  I know.

• 50:04Connor Wood?

Like, that's the community that I need. It's like murder mystery.

• 50:10Connor Wood?

  What?

• 50:10Brooke Averick?

  Heated rivalry.

• 50:12Connor Wood?

Oh, you're on a nickname basis with heated rivalry?

• 50:15Brooke Averick?

Absolutely, I am. Absolutely, I am.

• 50:19Connor Wood?

Um, no, we need like, there was a time when it was like Euphoria, White Lotus, uh, Nine Perfect Strangers, like, all of these things were out at once, and I was just like in Paradiso.

• 50:31Brooke Averick?

Do you think you're gonna watch the new season of Euphoria?

• 50:35Connor Wood?

  I am gonna watch, yeah.

• 50:37Brooke Averick?

  I don't even know if I will.

• 50:39Connor Wood?

They're in such interesting places, like thinking about like Jacob Elordi and Sydney Sweeney even being in the same set together right now, like I just like it's hard for me to wrap my pea-sized brain around.

• 50:53Brooke Averick?

Honestly, it's crazy how many of them

• 50:57Brooke Averick?

  blew up.

• 50:59Connor Wood?

Like I don't even, I can't even picture Zendaya going back

• 51:04Connor Wood?

  and doing you for it.

• 51:05Brooke Averick?

  I can't either.

• 51:06Connor Wood?

  What's Zendaya's last name?

• 51:08Brooke Averick?

  Coleman.

• 51:09Connor Wood?

Cool, I did not know that. Zendaya Coleman.

• 51:13Brooke Averick?

Yeah, but she's just a one-name wonder, like Cher. What is Cher's last name?

• 51:19Connor Wood?

  With me.

• 51:23Brooke Averick?

  Oh.

• 51:25Connor Wood?

  Sarkevian? Oh.

• 51:28Brooke Averick?

  She's Armenian, right?

• 51:30Connor Wood?

  She's dating like a 21-year-old.

• 51:31Brooke Averick?

  God bless. As she should.

• 51:35Connor Wood?

I think Octavia Spencer, someone commented on her post and said, "Make him sign a prenup."

• 51:40Brooke Averick?

  Cher will.

• 51:43Connor Wood?

  I don't know, Cher's, Cher's a lover, not a fighter.

• 51:46Brooke Averick?

  I know, I feel like she's a smart woman.

• 51:49Connor Wood?

She is a smart woman. She's a rich man.

• 51:52Brooke Averick?

Can I read you the other topics that I have in my hobo?

• 51:55Connor Wood?

  Yeah, I have some too.

• 51:56Brooke Averick?

Okay, so far we did Marty Supreme, Connor at the Globes, Colleen Hoover. Listen to this. You might find this interesting. Um, you know Colleen Hoover?

• 52:08Connor Wood?

  Yeah.

• 52:08Brooke Averick?

You're familiar with everything that happened with It Ends With Us?

• 52:12Connor Wood?

  Yes.

• 52:12Brooke Averick?

Okay, before all that, Colleen really was releasing like 55 new books a year.

• 52:17Connor Wood?

  Yeah.

• 52:18Brooke Averick?

And then she went on like a pretty severe hiatus. Like she was already getting hate just for like, people were like, really, are really critical of her writing. So she was already like getting hate and then with the It Ends With Us thing, she just like has not been like in the public for like years, okay? But she just very quietly released another book for the first time in a very long time.

• 52:43Brooke Averick?

Um, it's called Woman Down. And let me read you the synopsis.

• 52:47Connor Wood?

  Woman Down!

• 52:48Brooke Averick?

Let me read you the synopsis.

• 52:53Brooke Averick?

In this twisty thwilla, in this twisty thwilla from New York Times bestseller author, Colleen Hoover, a frustrated author looks for her muse in a remote hideaway. But when she, but what she finds defies all expectations.

• 53:04Connor Wood?

  Wait, hang on.

• 53:05Brooke Averick?

  And reality.

• 53:06Connor Wood?

  Wait.

• 53:06Brooke Averick?

  Yes.

• 53:07Connor Wood?

  She looks for her muse.

• 53:08Brooke Averick?

  So forget it.

• 53:09Connor Wood?

In a highway? What do you mean in a highway?

• 53:12Brooke Averick?

  Hideaway.

• 53:13Connor Wood?

  Oh, in a, in a.

• 53:14Brooke Averick?

Like she goes away to write.

• 53:16Connor Wood?

  Oh, okay, I see.

• 53:17Brooke Averick?

Then I think it, Goodreads synopses are hard, but okay. Her words used to set the page on fire, but a viral backlash over her latest film adaptation forced Petra Rose to take a hiatus, resulting in missed deadlines and an overdue mortgage. Branded as a fraud and fame hungry opportunist, she learned the hard way that what happens when the internet turns on you. And she's been.

• 53:36Connor Wood?

Wait, is this fucking play about her?

• 53:38Brooke Averick?

  Isn't that crazy?

• 53:41Connor Wood?

Whoa, this is like very Taylor Swift of her.

• 53:42Brooke Averick?

Branded a fraud and fame hungry opportunist, she learned the hard way what happens when the internet turns on you, and she's been uninspired to write ever since. Now with her next suspense novel outlined and savings nearly gone, she retreats to a secluded lakeside cabin hoping to find inspiration in her last attempt to save her career and herself, blah, blah, blah, blah. But isn't that kind of crazy? And like, no one's talking about this. And it came out last night, very quietly.

• 54:06Brooke Averick?

Obviously, like, she's getting inspiration from her real life, as all authors, as we all do. But I'm just like surprised no one's talking about this.

• 54:16Connor Wood?

Wow. That's one way to do it.

• 54:20Brooke Averick?

I'm excited, listen, I'm excited to read it. Um.

• 54:23Connor Wood?

Yeah, you'll have to keep me updated on that.

• 54:24Brooke Averick?

I feel like I have not read a Colleen book in like the past like five years or so, and I have never read one through a more like critical lens. So I'm really excited to read it and be like, is this hate warranted? Or is it just like people bandwagoning? So I'm excited.

• 54:40Connor Wood?

  I think it's probably.

• 54:42Brooke Averick?

  Both?

• 54:42Connor Wood?

  A combo.

• 54:43Brooke Averick?

I don't know. I'm excited, I'm genuinely very excited to read it and let you know.

• 54:48Connor Wood?

  Yeah, let me know.

• 54:49Brooke Averick?

  But.

• 54:49Connor Wood?

I have some hate that I want to spew.

• 54:51Brooke Averick?

  Oh, please do.

• 54:54Connor Wood?

Okay, I'm about to spew. The People We Meet on Vacation was the worst movie I've ever seen in my life.

• 55:00Brooke Averick?

  Stop it. Stop it.

• 55:02Connor Wood?

  You are a-

• 55:03Brooke Averick?

It was through the, I told you this, it was something to be seen through the female lens.

• 55:07Connor Wood?

  You are a fraud.

• 55:09Brooke Averick?

  No, I'm not a fraud. I'm not a fraud.

• 55:12Connor Wood?

That was the most insufferable movie.

• 55:17Brooke Averick?

I said you wouldn't like it.

• 55:19Connor Wood?

  Acting every-

• 55:20Brooke Averick?

  No, don't say that.

• 55:22Connor Wood?

No, I mean, they were, they were screwed over from the start. The way that they wrote in Emily Bader into that movie, like, she should really, truly file a lawsuit.

• 55:31Brooke Averick?

No, that is the character in the book. Like, it's very much one of those, like, quirky Zoe Deschanel, like, I just spilled my burrito everywhere.

• 55:39Connor Wood?

It was over the top, like, I'm so crazy, you can't take me anywhere vibes.

• 55:43Brooke Averick?

That is, that is the character. That's what we were working with.

• 55:47Connor Wood?

  Holy mother of Pearl.

• 55:49Brooke Averick?

Which is why for me, like, for better or for worse, like, I am, I was in it for, for Alex Tomblight's character, you know, like, that's why-

• 55:58Connor Wood?

  Yeah.

• 55:58Brooke Averick?

Which I thought, he was great. It definitely was pretty different from the book, which I think I said.

• 56:05Connor Wood?

  Yeah. Uh, wow.

• 56:07Brooke Averick?

And I think a lot of, like, People We Meet on Vacation purists, like, who loved the book are, like, not thrilled, but it's hard. It's really hard. Like, it's a pretty long book for a rom-com. Like, you have to make a lot of changes to make that work as a movie.

• 56:23Connor Wood?

Well, they didn't figure it out, so-

• 56:25Brooke Averick?

  That's mean.

• 56:27Connor Wood?

I, I, you, they should hear that. That's something that should be heard. We're not messing around with rom-coms in the year of the, our Lord, okay? We are grown adults. Why are we pumping out, take a little bit of time. Get some peer reviews.

• 56:43Brooke Averick?

I, I don't think, I li, I liked it for what it was.

• 56:46Connor Wood?

I, I mean, it just had, it had so much potential. I love the concept. I really think that-

• 56:51Brooke Averick?

When Harry Met Sally, but reversed.

• 56:53Connor Wood?

Yeah, and I, I really think that they almost had something and it was just, like, really poorly executed, sadly. I watched the whole thing.

• 57:00Brooke Averick?

I will say, you know I get premiere blinders?

• 57:04Connor Wood?

  Yes.

• 57:05Brooke Averick?

So, I'm, I'm looking forward to seeing it again, because this hap, this has happened to me twice before, pretty severely. When I saw It Ends With Us, and when I saw Family Affair, I came on this podcast, I said, those movies were fabulous.

• 57:16Connor Wood?

  Right.

• 57:17Brooke Averick?

Then I watched them again, not at the premiere. And I said, this isn't what I had seen before.

• 57:24Connor Wood?

  Yeah.

• 57:24Brooke Averick?

So I'm excited to watch it again, but I mean, I'm also not a critic at the end of the day. Like, I like most things.

• 57:33Connor Wood?

I don't like most things and I'm okay with that. Cause when I like something like a Marty Supreme, it's, it really wows me.

• 57:42Brooke Averick?

  Yeah.

• 57:42Connor Wood?

And I have a lot to say about the writing, the way it's filmed, the casting, everything.

• 57:46Brooke Averick?

I see. I think it's like even with the housemate, like people were mad at me for liking that. I'm

• 57:53Connor Wood?

  Why?

• 57:53Brooke Averick?

Cause they're like, it was bad. And I'm like, it's not supposed to be good. I'm entertained. That's all I'm asking for. That's really all I'm asking for.

• 58:04Connor Wood?

  Sure.

• 58:05Brooke Averick?

With most, I'm a lot more critical with books, but like with the movie entertained me. And I'm thanking you.

• 58:14Connor Wood?

  Okay.

• 58:14Brooke Averick?

But, um, I understand people we meet on vacation was not for everyone. What I am so interested in is that Emily Henry, who I like, I think I adore. She really loved it. And I think that's so interesting because it was very different from the book.

• 58:33Connor Wood?

  Interesting.

• 58:33Brooke Averick?

And so I don't know, like, if I would be able to, even if the movie, like, let's say Phoebe was adapted and it was so different from the book. Even if it was good, I think I'd still be a little butthurt. Like, why did, why did you change so much?

• 58:47Connor Wood?

  Yeah, I get that.

• 58:48Brooke Averick?

  You know?

• 58:49Connor Wood?

  Yeah.

• 58:50Brooke Averick?

So it's all, it's all, it's a very interesting, um, case study to watch.

• 58:56Connor Wood?

  Sure. No, I get that.

• 58:59Brooke Averick?

Yeah. Anyway. I have to watch it again, but I really like, was loving Tom Blythe's character and Tom Blythe as an entity. And I'm, I'm being very good on Instagram. Like I was wanting to scream about him from the rooftops, like pretty loudly. But for whatever reason, like a lot of like random people that are like close with him follow me. So I've been really quiet, but please know that I'm like, I'm starting to scroll past Tom Blythe content because it's becoming too much.

• 59:33Connor Wood?

  We got another one.

• 59:35Brooke Averick?

I am like pretty sick in a lot of ways.

• 59:40Connor Wood?

One movie I'm I'm I'm really putting a lot of my marbles into this movie right now and I'm like praying it turns out okay, even though like my gut is telling me it won't. Toy Story, Toy Story 5 is very iPad heavy. So basically the toys are fighting to win back the attention of the child who's addicted to its iPad.

• 1:00:03Brooke Averick?

Oh, that's good. I stopped paying attention after Toy Story 3.

• 1:00:08Connor Wood?

Well, there's something that is going that kind of takes me out of the story when there's a screen in an animated movie. What are you doing on an iPad? This is Toy Story.

• 1:00:15Brooke Averick?

Oh, I think that could be like a really good message.

• 1:00:18Connor Wood?

I think that it could save a generation of children if if

• 1:00:21Brooke Averick?

  If done right.

• 1:00:22Connor Wood?

Disney is able to villainize an iPad and they're like, oh, wait, that thing's evil. Maybe it will result in less iPad children. You know, if you can, if you can convince the kids to make that decision for themselves and it's not a parent taking away the iPad, because then that villainizes the parent.

• 1:00:40Brooke Averick?

  Yeah.

• 1:00:45Connor Wood?

  We'll see.

• 1:00:46Brooke Averick?

The last thing I have on my agenda is just a quick grievance.

• 1:00:51Connor Wood?

  Huh?

• 1:00:51Brooke Averick?

I just have a quick grievance.

• 1:00:53Connor Wood?

Oh, share with us your quick grievance.

• 1:00:56Brooke Averick?

And I'm, this has been spoken about. Like, I am not the first one to bring this grievance to the table. I am pissed, though.

• 1:01:02Connor Wood?

  Okay.

• 1:01:03Brooke Averick?

I'd like to speak about it.

• 1:01:08Brooke Averick?

My quesadilla order, my Chipotle quesadilla order is as follows. Chicken quesadilla, side of guac, white rice, the corn and sour cream.

• 1:01:20Connor Wood?

  Delicious. Well done.

• 1:01:22Brooke Averick?

Each part is as important to me. As last, this quesadilla cannot be consumed with, cannot be consumed without any of the parts. If I had to sacrifice a part, I guess it would be the rice, even though that's painful for me to say, because then at least like I can enjoy my quesadilla with all of its dressings. But like if I'm missing the corn or the guac or the sour cream, like that really limits my ability to enjoy my quesadilla.

• 1:01:47Connor Wood?

  Sure.

• 1:01:48Brooke Averick?

Yesterday I got my quesadilla and there was no sour cream. Okay, that's arguably like the worst thing to be missing. Okay, how do you eat a quesadilla with sour cream? I don't know. I don't know. Without, yeah, did I say with? Without sour cream? I don't know. So the, I go through the motions on Uber Eats as I, as I do every time something's missing. I need to let them know. And they're like, oh, sorry about your sour cream. Like here's the refund. In two dol-, like here's two dollars back. Like did this, like meet your expectations, our service? And to be honest, it doesn't. Because I'm not gonna enjoy any of my quesadilla without that sour cream.

• 1:02:32Connor Wood?

You don't have sour cream in your fridge?

• 1:02:33Brooke Averick?

No, I don't have anything in my fridge besides my pumpkin spice creamer.

• 1:02:38Connor Wood?

Oh, Brooke, you have to have some, some soy sauce. You have to have some sriracha. You have to have sour cream. You need to have these backup.

• 1:02:44Brooke Averick?

I have ketchup. I have mayo.

• 1:02:47Brooke Averick?

I don't even have soy sauce. I just use leftover packets. I have like millions of those.

• 1:02:55Connor Wood?

  Okay.

• 1:02:56Brooke Averick?

I have the Trader Joe's, um, sweet and sour, like the orange sauce. That's been expired for a few years. But I don't have sour cream.

• 1:03:07Connor Wood?

Maybe look into it. Maybe this is like one, maybe this is one of those like teachable moments.

• 1:03:11Brooke Averick?

I do. But this happens a lot with Uber Eats where it's like, here's like a dollar back. And it's like, that's not, I'm not gonna enjoy any of my meal. Because of the, the missing piece that you consider to be worth a dollar. It's worth the whole meal. It's worth a lifetime. So.

• 1:03:27Connor Wood?

  It's priceless.

• 1:03:28Brooke Averick?

I do think that, um, that's a policy that should be looked into.

• 1:03:34Brooke Averick?

  What do you think?

• 1:03:35Connor Wood?

I, well, I, something that's been happening to me a lot recently is like when I'm traveling and I get into a hotel room and I'll order food that arrives the same time as my, the same time as I do from like the airport. Um, so I can just like grab it in the lobby and they don't have to like come up to my room. And I keep getting things without utensils and I'm usually getting like chicken and rice bowl, something like that, you know, that, so I, um, have recently had to, I recently had to use two Sharpies as chopsticks. Um, so you just make do, but it is a little-

• 1:04:06Brooke Averick?

And you can submit that as a photo to Uber Eats and they should refund you six cents for the chopsticks.

• 1:04:12Connor Wood?

They should, yeah, I agree. They should have, they should have to come into my room and massage my shoulders while I eat with my Sharpie chopsticks.

• 1:04:18Brooke Averick?

It's just like, it's not about equality, it's about equity, is what I'm saying right now.

• 1:04:23Connor Wood?

You said it, and I think we leave right now. We leave it right there.

• 1:04:27Brooke Averick?

It's not about equality. It's not about matching that price. It's about equity. So like, I, I can't enjoy any of my meal, honey, without this sour cream. So like, should you be offering me just like another, should you send me another meal? Probably. Probably, yeah.

• 1:04:51Connor Wood?

Okay, let's, let's, let's leave it right there.

• 1:04:54Brooke Averick?

People are gonna get mad at me for being entitled. I really, I do feel that. I feel pretty strongly about it.

• 1:04:59Connor Wood?

  That's a, that's a, that's a point of contention. I think that is an, an okay.

• 1:05:06Brooke Averick?

I'm trying to think of a more severe example, cause like maybe the sour cream wouldn't resonate with everyone.

• 1:05:11Connor Wood?

I like, love you so much, like genuinely to death. I have to be so bad.

• 1:05:15Brooke Averick?

  Oh!

• 1:05:17Connor Wood?

I want, I want you to think of a more extreme example.

• 1:05:20Brooke Averick?

I'll think of a more extreme example and I can share it in the bonus.

• 1:05:23Connor Wood?

Okay, let's do that. Thank you guys so much for listening. Brooke, sending so much thoughts and healing, healing energy your way.

• 1:05:31Brooke Averick?

  Thank you.

• 1:05:32Connor Wood?

Um, and I love you guys and we'll see you in the bonus.

• 1:05:35Brooke Averick?

  Okay, see you then.
