Hi, I'm Haley. I'm 27 years old from Florence, Alabama, and this is Financial Audit.

• 1:41Caleb Hammer?

Florence, Alabama? Yeah, you certainly are. Thanks for coming down to Austin. What do you do for a living in Florence, Alabama?

• 1:48Speaker 05

Okay, I don't think it's that thick, first of all. But I am a manager at a major retailer.

• 1:54Caleb Hammer?

Cool. What kind of level of manager? Because that can range widely.

• 2:00Speaker 05

Right, so like at this company, it goes like district manager, store manager, and then me. So there's like two levels between me and the store manager.

• 2:07Caleb Hammer?

  Which one are you?

• 2:09Speaker 05

  I'm the assistant manager.

• 2:12Caleb Hammer?

  Okay, how much you making?

• 2:14Speaker 05

So I make sixty five a year, I'm salary.

• 2:15Caleb Hammer?

Thousand, not bad for, I don't know Florence specifically, but Alabama's not one of the more expensive states to live in.

• 2:23Speaker 05

No, it's pretty good, um, like the cost of living is really low and then like the housing is low, so.

• 2:30Caleb Hammer?

Okay, so how is life in Florence with this job? How are we doing?

• 2:35Speaker 05

So I mean, I feel like I'm doing okay, but then like somehow I'm still in debt, so.

• 2:40Caleb Hammer?

What do you think is causing that? If we're doing okay.

• 2:44Speaker 05

I think mainly it's like the bills and then sometimes I do like spend a little bit of extra. You know, I have to go to like TJ Maxx and stuff like.

• 2:52Caleb Hammer?

Have to, what, what do you mean have to go to TJ? What is have to go to TJ Maxx?

• 2:56Speaker 05

  It's like I have to, it's, it's a necessity.

• 3:00Caleb Hammer?

No, what part of it is a necessity?

• 3:02Speaker 05

Well, I go there and like I have to get all my skincare stuff from there.

• 3:05Caleb Hammer?

  From TJ Maxx?

• 3:06Speaker 05

Have you ever been to TJ Maxx? Do you, do you not TJ at all now? They have.

• 3:11Caleb Hammer?

I don't know if I've been to a TJ Maxx.

• 3:13Speaker 05

You would ever need, like they have like all my eye serums that I need, which obviously, cause I'm getting a little bit. My, my wrinkles are.

• 3:22Caleb Hammer?

What are you, you're twenty seven?

• 3:24Speaker 05

  Yeah.

• 3:25Caleb Hammer?

  Uh, your retinal, okay.

• 3:26Speaker 05

Yes, I have to get the retinal.

• 3:28Caleb Hammer?

Yes, of course, of course, of course. Okay, that's your have to go to TJ Maxx, okay. What are you spending on that on a monthly basis? You're, that's why you're in debt is because of TJ Maxx for your skincare?

• 3:38Speaker 05

I mean, I wouldn't say like in debt, but I think that's like a necessity and then there's like stuff that comes up, you know. Throughout the weeks and months and like I have to get.

• 3:48Caleb Hammer?

What hits your account on a monthly basis?

• 3:51Speaker 05

  I think it's eighteen thirty?

• 3:54Caleb Hammer?

  Monthly.

• 3:55Speaker 05

  Eighteen thirty?

• 3:57Caleb Hammer?

  Monthly.

• 3:58Speaker 05

  Oh, three thousand six hundred.

• 4:03Caleb Hammer?

Do you know what monthly means? Just wanna

• 4:05Speaker 05

  Yes.

• 4:06Caleb Hammer?

  Confirm we're on the same.

• 4:07Speaker 05

Well, I think weekly. Maybe it's every.

• 4:09Caleb Hammer?

  You're paid weekly?

• 4:10Speaker 05

  No, I'm paid bi-weekly.

• 4:12Caleb Hammer?

What's, what are you talking about?

• 4:15Caleb Hammer?

What are you talking about weekly?

• 4:16Speaker 05

  Bi-weekly, I think.

• 4:17Caleb Hammer?

Three thousand seven hundred came in for payroll.

• 4:19Speaker 05

  Okay.

• 4:20Caleb Hammer?

  Okay?

• 4:20Speaker 05

  Yeah.

• 4:21Caleb Hammer?

  Does that sound about right?

• 4:22Speaker 05

That actually sounds a little bit higher than... But yeah, that's, that's.

• 4:26Caleb Hammer?

  It's salary, so there's no...

• 4:28Speaker 05

There is no overtime or like extra or anything.

• 4:30Caleb Hammer?

How many hours a week are you working?

• 4:32Speaker 05

So it's base fifty, but then like if you have to work extra.

• 4:34Caleb Hammer?

  Fifty?

• 4:35Speaker 05

Yeah, you have to work extra.

• 4:36Caleb Hammer?

Base, okay, and that's, oh, okay, okay, so what is it, nine to, like, how, what does that look like?

• 4:42Speaker 05

Normally, my schedule is like a seven to five, or like a ten to eight, twelve to ten, that kinda thing.

• 4:47Caleb Hammer?

Oh shit, so it's not consistent?

• 4:49Speaker 05

  No, it changes.

• 4:50Caleb Hammer?

How many assistant managers are there?

• 4:51Speaker 05

  There's six total.

• 4:53Caleb Hammer?

  Okay.

• 4:55Speaker 05

  I don't want to.

• 4:57Caleb Hammer?

Okay, that doesn't, come on. One, I'm offended. Two, that also wasn't the actual request, my gosh, okay.

• 5:06Speaker 05

I didn't know if you were asking or suggesting, or?

• 5:08Caleb Hammer?

Well, there's probably incest happening there, so I don't wanna get a taste of that anyway. Three thousand seven hundred, so that's what happens on a monthly basis?

• 5:15Speaker 05

  Yeah.

• 5:16Caleb Hammer?

Alright, cool, so you're in debt because of TJ Maxx, apparently, because you have to go to TJ Maxx. So, how much did you spend last month, if that's the paycheck that hits? And apparently a little high on your end, but okay, sure, so what, what did you spend? What'd you spend last month?

• 5:32Speaker 05

I'm gonna say, I don't think I went over my paycheck because I very rarely do.

• 5:36Caleb Hammer?

  Okay.

• 5:37Speaker 05

I think I, I stay pretty much underneath, so I'm gonna say like, I think for sure, three thousand.

• 5:44Caleb Hammer?

Five thousand twenty-six dollars, what the fuck are you talking about?

• 5:47Speaker 05

  There's no way.

• 5:47Caleb Hammer?

  That is what was spent.

• 5:52Caleb Hammer?

Also known as some credit cards.

• 5:55Speaker 05

Well, no, I'm pretty sure that expense came from like, the vacation that I had, I had to take.

• 6:01Caleb Hammer?

What, that doesn't count? Vacations, money that...

• 6:05Caleb Hammer?

No, what are you talking about? Do you think that does not count towards your spending? Because it's a vacation.

• 6:10Speaker 05

What I'm saying is like, that's not a normal.

• 6:12Caleb Hammer?

  I don't care if it's normal, that's what you did. I don't care if it's normal.

• 6:15Speaker 05

It's not a normal month, though, that's like.

• 6:17Caleb Hammer?

But that doesn't, do you realize that does not matter?

• 6:19Speaker 05

That was just for the vacation that we were, that I was gonna take.

• 6:23Caleb Hammer?

I get it. But do you not realize that that doesn't matter whether or not it's a normal month? It literally did happen.

• 6:29Speaker 05

Yeah. But I was saving, I was actually saving up for this vacation, so like I was taking a little bit out of my paychecks. Like, every month.

• 6:38Caleb Hammer?

How much was it, what did, where'd you go?

• 6:40Speaker 05

I went to Orange Beach, which I've never been.

• 6:42Caleb Hammer?

  Orange Beach what?

• 6:43Speaker 05

  Like, Orange Beach, Alabama.

• 6:45Caleb Hammer?

  So you stayed in Alabama?

• 6:46Speaker 05

Yeah. Well, I was originally gonna go to Florida, and we were gonna go to Universal for Halloween Horror Nights. So cool, like, love it.

• 6:55Caleb Hammer?

  What?

• 6:55Speaker 05

  But Halloween Horror Nights.

• 6:56Caleb Hammer?

Yeah, well, you and your friends?

• 6:58Speaker 05

Me and my brother and his wife, we were gonna go.

• 7:00Caleb Hammer?

  You and your brother?

• 7:01Speaker 05

  Yeah.

• 7:01Caleb Hammer?

  Okay. Future husband?

• 7:04Speaker 05

  Already, actually.

• 7:07Speaker 05

No, no, I'm just kidding, no, no, not really, but um, he was actually gonna pay for like, the tickets and everything for me. It was like, you know, his treat, basically, because he knew like, I was having a hard time and we had already planned this out.

• 7:19Caleb Hammer?

But, but that's just the tickets, you would've still spent money going there.

• 7:22Speaker 05

No, he was gonna pay for everything.

• 7:23Caleb Hammer?

Everything, then why would you need to save up money for the trip?

• 7:25Speaker 05

He was paying for the rental car, he was gonna pay for like, the place we stayed at, and he was actually gonna pay for my ticket.

• 7:30Caleb Hammer?

Why would you need to save up money then?

• 7:32Speaker 05

Well, I was gonna save up money for like, food. Like.

• 7:34Caleb Hammer?

There you go, so like I said, you have to spend while you're there.

• 7:37Speaker 05

  Yeah.

• 7:38Caleb Hammer?

So he wasn't covering that, it wasn't expensive, pay.

• 7:40Speaker 05

For it, like, I was skipping like, a Friday here and there, and like, a Red Bull here and there, I was skipping.

• 7:44Caleb Hammer?

That saving is cutting back on like, the bull**** kind of expenses, so it's not even like, money that would've gone towards the debt anyway, it's money that would've gone towards spending for bull****.

• 7:53Speaker 05

Well, I do have a little bit of extra left over at the end of the month, like, I have like, two hundred dollars left over.

• 7:58Caleb Hammer?

What the **** are you talking about? You spent five thousand dollars, you brought in three thousand seven hundred. You don't know what you're talking about, well, no, there is not money left over.

• 8:06Speaker 05

  Well, when I make my.

• 8:06Caleb Hammer?

Why would your debt be going up? Why would you have debt if you have a little left over?

• 8:11Speaker 05

Well, when I make like my budget for the month.

• 8:15Caleb Hammer?

Then why do you have debt?

• 8:16Speaker 05

  There's normally like.

• 8:17Caleb Hammer?

  Why do you have debt?

• 8:18Speaker 05

  I don't know.

• 8:20Caleb Hammer?

Why? You make a budget, so you should know.

• 8:22Speaker 05

I think like the debt accumulated over time.

• 8:25Caleb Hammer?

  How?

• 8:26Speaker 05

So I had like a little mid twenties breakdown, like a little. A little.

• 8:31Caleb Hammer?

It is mid twenties. It's not even mid twenty, yeah. Oh, your, your age, mid twenties. Yes, yes, yes, yes. Okay. Uh, you're twenty seven, so two years ago?

• 8:41Speaker 05

Well, I was like twenty four, twenty five, something like that. Mental breakdown, right? Like a lot going on personally.

• 8:50Caleb Hammer?

  What?

• 8:52Speaker 05

Well, you know, um, I started like my salary job and I actually.

• 9:01Speaker 05

I started working in salary, right? Promotion, more money, great, different store, doing good, right?

• 9:07Caleb Hammer?

  So good.

• 9:08Speaker 05

Um, but I actually, when I moved to the new store, I found out that my boyfriend that I was with was actually with somebody else. And we had been seeing each other for like, close to two years. He actually had a girlfriend and she was like six months.

• 9:21Caleb Hammer?

He had a girl, a six month pregnant girlfriend?

• 9:24Speaker 05

Yeah, so I found this out and um, I mean, that was hard.

• 9:28Caleb Hammer?

Again, I mean, that's what happens when you live in a place called Florence, Alabama. Really, I mean.

• 9:33Speaker 05

And it just so happened that like the store I transferred to, she, well, her family lived there and like they would come in with a baby. And it was so hard, but I was like, okay, you know, I was like, I'm doing it still, I'm.

• 9:45Caleb Hammer?

  How, how'd you find out?

• 9:47Speaker 05

I actually found out because I was like on like a little project, like a little salary project, my first little thing as like a salary member of management. In his hometown. So like, we live forty five minutes away. I live in a town over here and he lives over here. We're like forty five minutes different. So that's why it was like so easy, I think, for him to, had having a girlfriend.

• 10:06Caleb Hammer?

  How'd you find out?

• 10:07Speaker 05

And the baby. But, so the way I found out is because I'm working at the store in his hometown and there's this guy there. And we're like talking about, because this guy's a tattoo artist, right? And me and the guy are like talking about his tattoos and he's like, I actually get my tattoos done by this guy, or I used to. But then he stole my girlfriend from me and I was like.

• 10:27Caleb Hammer?

  Oh my gosh, no.

• 10:28Speaker 05

I have never dated this guy, like, I thought I was his girlfriend, but. Obviously not, so that's how I found out that he had a girlfriend that was not me.

• 10:37Caleb Hammer?

Then what happened, you broke up?

• 10:38Speaker 05

  Yeah, I mean, I.

• 10:40Caleb Hammer?

  Yeah, no, totally fair.

• 10:41Speaker 05

You know, I found out he had a girlfriend and I found out she was six months pregnant, so yeah, like.

• 10:45Caleb Hammer?

That's crazy. So were you the side piece?

• 10:50Caleb Hammer?

That's for two years you were the side piece? Did you tell her?

• 10:54Speaker 05

  I did.

• 10:55Caleb Hammer?

  And?

• 10:56Speaker 05

Um, it was like, it was a whole thing.

• 10:58Caleb Hammer?

  Are they still together?

• 10:59Speaker 05

  They are, but like.

• 11:02Speaker 05

So we actually continued to talk to each other.

• 11:05Caleb Hammer?

No, for how long? Well, that drawn out, that drawn out process, I mean, that's gonna fuck you in so many different ways.

• 11:12Speaker 05

Talking for eight months because I was like, I can't, like, this is, I can't do this. So we stopped talking for like eight months and then he texts me one day and he's like, you know. Yeah, basically, he's like, hey, what up, kind of thing, but um, we started talking again.

• 11:29Caleb Hammer?

  What's talking?

• 11:30Speaker 05

No, no, no, no, no, no, we just started talking, like.

• 11:33Caleb Hammer?

Even though he was with his lady that had a baby. But and you knew you were the side piece at that point and you were okay with that?

• 11:42Speaker 05

Well, I mean, like two years is a long time, you know, and like you become attached to somebody. And I was a little bit attached.

• 11:50Caleb Hammer?

He's had a kid though, uh, well, I mean, obviously he's probably a serial cheater, what?

• 11:55Speaker 05

Definitely, probably, yeah, most likely, hundred percent, actually, I'm sure.

• 11:59Caleb Hammer?

How long did you guys keep talking?

• 12:01Speaker 05

Um, last time I spoke to him was in June.

• 12:04Caleb Hammer?

This isn't that long, you go wait for how long were you talking?

• 12:07Speaker 05

Um, we have been doing this back and forth, like on.

• 12:10Caleb Hammer?

You're never gonna move on, you're never gonna move on.

• 12:14Speaker 05

  It's been six years.

• 12:15Caleb Hammer?

Six fucking years, you're never gonna move on, how old's his kid now?

• 12:19Speaker 05

She is five years old now.

• 12:23Caleb Hammer?

What the Have you, okay, let me ask this question, sorry. This is a little more like TMZ T-Sip for a second, but Listen, I enjoy myself a little steaming glass here and there, so I gotta ask this, but then we're gonna jump into the money, but uh Uh

• 12:41Caleb Hammer?

  In that time?

• 12:42Speaker 05

Such an inappropriate question, I don't know if I can answer that, oh my goodness.

• 12:46Caleb Hammer?

  Yes.

• 12:47Speaker 05

  It's a loaded question.

• 12:48Caleb Hammer?

  That's a, yes. Really?

• 12:52Speaker 05

  Really?

• 12:52Caleb Hammer?

How, when's like the last time?

• 12:54Speaker 05

No, it hasn't, like, I haven't actually, we haven't actually like been together, been together.

• 13:00Caleb Hammer?

Come on, when was the last time you guys?

• 13:02Speaker 05

Like, December, we were actually together.

• 13:05Caleb Hammer?

But you're saying he's with the mother of his child still? And you're a lot, you are try, actively trying to sleep with him during those times?

• 13:13Speaker 05

No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no.

• 13:15Caleb Hammer?

But you did, you did, over the past few years.

• 13:18Speaker 05

It was always like, he would call me and he'd be like, we're not together anymore. He would tell me that they weren't together.

• 13:23Caleb Hammer?

How many times is he telling you that?

• 13:25Speaker 05

The last time he told me they weren't together.

• 13:26Caleb Hammer?

And after he cheated on you the first time, or cheated on her with you the first time?

• 13:29Speaker 05

Who is he cheating on, though? Is it me or is it her?

• 13:32Caleb Hammer?

  Her, I think.

• 13:33Speaker 05

  I don't know, cuz I, I don't know.

• 13:38Caleb Hammer?

  Um.

• 13:40Speaker 05

  But, like.

• 13:41Caleb Hammer?

  That's a little like.

• 13:42Speaker 05

He told me they weren't together, no.

• 13:44Caleb Hammer?

Yeah, but how many times can you believe that over and over again, especially for someone that cheated on you? He cheated on you and you're okay?

• 13:50Speaker 05

I texted her, I texted her, and I was like, hey, just so you know, this is what he's told me, he told me y'all are not together anymore. You've moved out, like,

• 13:57Caleb Hammer?

  Mm-hmm.

• 13:58Speaker 05

I just wanna make sure we're all on the same page this time.

• 14:00Caleb Hammer?

  If he sticks it in?

• 14:01Speaker 05

Cuz we've done this over and over, so like, I just wanna clear everything up.

• 14:04Caleb Hammer?

This dude better be fucking hot.

• 14:07Speaker 05

  Well, I mean, I think he's handsome, he's like, It's like a Joe Dirt.

• 14:11Caleb Hammer?

No, this is usually like a post-show conversation. We, we, we, we, we.

• 14:16Speaker 05

But, like, you know, you gotta love it, like, you think my accent's sick?

• 14:19Caleb Hammer?

  Okay, show me a picture.

• 14:21Speaker 05

You wanna see a picture of him?

• 14:22Caleb Hammer?

Yes, we'll get into finances in a second, sorry guys.

• 14:24Speaker 05

Okay, you have to be like, you have to be honest and tell me if it's just like.

• 14:27Caleb Hammer?

  It's like, if I do anything, it's

• 14:30Speaker 05

Do I just have rose-colored glasses on?

• 14:32Caleb Hammer?

  Huh?

• 14:33Speaker 05

Do I have like rose-colored glasses on?

• 14:34Caleb Hammer?

  Well, maybe, I don't know, you're probably

• 14:36Speaker 05

  Or is he handsome?

• 14:37Caleb Hammer?

There's like five people that live in Florence, right?

• 14:38Speaker 05

I only have one picture of him.

• 14:39Caleb Hammer?

  How old is this man?

• 14:42Speaker 05

He is, um, He's forty years old. He turned forty in November.

• 14:52Speaker 05

But you know, when you love somebody and you just love him so much and you just can't and like that's how much I loved him.

• 15:01Caleb Hammer?

This dude is a great man.

• 15:04Speaker 05

Wait, did you look at the picture good though?

• 15:07Caleb Hammer?

Yeah, I looked at it pretty well.

• 15:09Speaker 05

Well, I don't have another picture of him, but

• 15:11Caleb Hammer?

Nor do I want to see another.

• 15:12Speaker 05

  Bluest little eyes.

• 15:13Caleb Hammer?

  Um.

• 15:14Speaker 05

  I mean, I liked him.

• 15:16Caleb Hammer?

No, conventionally attractive to a certain point, sure. Uh, he

• 15:22Speaker 05

Maybe that wasn't the best picture.

• 15:24Caleb Hammer?

  Was.

• 15:27Caleb Hammer?

He's been since you were twenty one and he was

• 15:30Speaker 05

We met when I was twenty one and he was

• 15:31Caleb Hammer?

  Thirty.

• 15:32Speaker 05

  Thirty four.

• 16:58Speaker 05

Well, I don't think that's like that big of an age gap, honestly.

• 17:01Caleb Hammer?

It's a pretty big gap. Whether or not it's inappropriate, it's up to the individual. It's a pretty big gap regardless.

• 17:07Speaker 05

  Right?

• 17:07Caleb Hammer?

  Huh?

• 17:08Speaker 05

  We're in Tennessee, so.

• 17:09Caleb Hammer?

  Huh?

• 17:10Speaker 05

  We're in Tennessee.

• 17:13Speaker 05

So it doesn't really matter, I don't think, does it?

• 17:15Caleb Hammer?

What the fuck does that mean?

• 17:16Speaker 05

Well, I think like the age of consent there is like sixteen, which

• 17:20Caleb Hammer?

  You're in Alabama.

• 17:22Speaker 05

Well, I am now, but originally Tennessee.

• 17:27Speaker 05

Maybe you didn't see a good picture. Hold on. Cause like if you could say-

• 17:31Caleb Hammer?

This is a fucking financial audit. What the fuck is happening right now?

• 17:34Speaker 05

  I don't know.

• 17:35Caleb Hammer?

This is, that's insane. You're literally, the dude has a fucking family and uh, you say, you-

• 17:41Speaker 05

Okay, let's not talk about it like that though. Let's not talk about it like that though.

• 17:44Caleb Hammer?

You told me with your own words that he is with her.

• 17:47Speaker 05

  Yes.

• 17:49Speaker 05

I know it sounds bad and it sounds like-

• 17:51Caleb Hammer?

  How old is his-

• 17:55Speaker 06

  It's me, the-

• 17:58Speaker 06

We don't need the jingle twice.

• 18:01Speaker 06

Stop it. This is about vacation inflation and how Priceline negotiates amazing deals on hotels, flights, and rental cars.

• 18:10Speaker 06

Yeah, but I didn't mention that you can save up to sixty percent off hotels in the Priceline app. Fine. No one deals more deals than-

• 18:19Speaker 06

  Please stop. Touche. Priceline.

• 18:22Caleb Hammer?

  Sound!

• 18:23Speaker 05

I know it sounds like I'm the trashy one, right?

• 18:26Caleb Hammer?

Yes! No, you all sound trashy. In this story.

• 18:30Speaker 05

Okay. I know it sounds like I'm the bad one in this, but-

• 18:33Caleb Hammer?

  Yes, and him.

• 18:34Speaker 05

Not at all. Not at all. Because like-

• 18:35Caleb Hammer?

You pursue him. You continue the conversations. You allow them to happen. You let him fuck you in December while they've been together.

• 18:43Speaker 05

No, but he told me they were not together.

• 18:44Caleb Hammer?

Why would you trust the man that cheated on you before? You wanted to believe it. Exactly. You wanted to believe it.

• 18:52Speaker 05

  Yeah.

• 18:52Caleb Hammer?

I gotta get into the numbers. That is certainly piping hot, but it's honestly quite, kinda disgusting.

• 18:58Speaker 05

  Well, no-

• 18:59Caleb Hammer?

  How old's his uh, lady?

• 19:01Speaker 05

  I don't know, actually.

• 19:03Caleb Hammer?

  Do you know her?

• 19:05Speaker 05

I've met her, I've met her.

• 19:06Caleb Hammer?

  How old does she look?

• 19:08Speaker 05

I think she's thirty. She's older than me. I think she's thirty years old, but I'm not sure. I don't know. Do you want to tell me if I'm prettier than her?

• 19:15Caleb Hammer?

  This pork.

• 19:16Speaker 05

You want to do a little?

• 19:19Speaker 05

We'll do like a hot or not? Do you want to say?

• 19:21Caleb Hammer?

Did you fucking say? I'll do it.

• 19:24Speaker 05

Okay, you have to be honest too, like.

• 19:26Caleb Hammer?

  I never am not.

• 19:27Speaker 05

Then I'm ugly, just tell me the truth.

• 19:29Caleb Hammer?

  Is that him?

• 19:29Speaker 05

That's him and her, but like that's a very.

• 19:31Caleb Hammer?

You're literally dating like a dude that looks like.

• 19:34Speaker 05

Tell me, is it edited? So edited, right?

• 19:37Caleb Hammer?

  I would, I would, I would, I, I, I would pick you if I had to pick.

• 19:42Speaker 05

  Oh, thank you.

• 19:43Caleb Hammer?

Well, this is because she looks beyond caked. Like, what is she hiding?

• 19:47Speaker 05

Right? Like so much makeup. Like I have makeup on, obviously, but like.

• 19:50Caleb Hammer?

  Yes.

• 19:51Speaker 05

Honestly, the TJ Maxx is, I feel like doing me good, right? With all the retinol and the acerons.

• 19:56Caleb Hammer?

  You look normal.

• 19:59Caleb Hammer?

What are we doing? What are we talking? You spent? Five thousand. Three thousand seven hundred comes in. You're married men who are fifteen years older than you.

• 20:09Speaker 05

He's not married. He's not married.

• 20:11Caleb Hammer?

He has a kid with her. That poor kid, that poor kid, that poor kid.

• 20:16Speaker 05

  Dude is not married.

• 20:16Caleb Hammer?

That poor kid. What is everyone at the store gonna think when they hear this? You are choosing to say this on a public platform.

• 20:24Speaker 05

Oh goodness, I didn't think about that. Like.

• 20:26Caleb Hammer?

How'd you not? As in, we literally have videos saying, uh, everyone around you will know, will see you in these videos. Please consider before you come on, like a million jillion times.

• 20:38Speaker 05

  I didn't think about that.

• 20:40Caleb Hammer?

Why? How? We literally, are you dumb?

• 20:43Speaker 05

It sounds really bad, but it's, it's not like what it sounds like.

• 20:47Caleb Hammer?

  How is it not?

• 20:48Speaker 05

  Well.

• 20:49Caleb Hammer?

Man with baby sticks penal in you. The non-person he's with.

• 20:54Speaker 05

Very, very explicit. It wasn't like that at all.

• 20:56Caleb Hammer?

  But that is what happened.

• 20:58Speaker 05

  Not really.

• 21:01Speaker 05

  Not a hundred percent.

• 21:01Caleb Hammer?

How do I get this, how do I take this to finances?

• 21:04Speaker 05

I don't know how we got here, honestly.

• 21:05Caleb Hammer?

What are you here for, lady?

• 21:07Speaker 05

Well, I think like I just need help figuring out where my money goes. Because to me, it doesn't seem like I have enough to get anywhere with like my minimum monthly payments and stuff like that. And I don't know where I'm like missing the mark here.

• 21:22Caleb Hammer?

  Uh.

• 21:24Speaker 05

So I'm thinking about, just to like get my finances back on track. I currently have like a loan out on my 401k.

• 21:31Caleb Hammer?

  Oh.

• 21:34Speaker 05

  And.

• 21:34Caleb Hammer?

For why? When'd you do that?

• 21:36Speaker 05

I did it when I purchased my house.

• 21:38Caleb Hammer?

  You own your house?

• 21:39Speaker 05

  I do.

• 21:39Caleb Hammer?

Wait, I don't see a mortgage in here?

• 21:42Speaker 05

Yeah, there should be a mortgage. Yeah, so I bought a house back in 2022.

• 21:47Caleb Hammer?

401k loan to buy a house?

• 21:49Speaker 05

Well, no, it wasn't always, like, it wasn't just to buy the house, it was for like a little bit of the down payment.

• 21:55Caleb Hammer?

A down payment? So you borrowed your down payments from your own retirement? I don't think you understand how that fucking worked.

• 22:02Speaker 05

Well, I feel like it's just paying, I thought it would be better than getting like an actual loan, it's, I'm paying myself.

• 22:06Caleb Hammer?

An actual loan? Yeah, but with interest.

• 22:09Speaker 05

  A personal loan.

• 22:10Caleb Hammer?

  Yeah, but with interest.

• 22:11Speaker 05

But the interest goes back to you, right?

• 22:15Caleb Hammer?

What do you mean? You think you're earning money on it?

• 22:17Speaker 05

No, I don't think I'm earning money, I think that it's just like,

• 22:23Speaker 05

it like gets, they take mu- like.

• 22:26Caleb Hammer?

What is the school system like in Alabama? What do you, what do you mean? What do you think is actually happening? Please, please, please.

• 22:34Speaker 05

So I don't, like, I'm paying myself back, basically, but I, it's not like accruing any kind of.

• 22:40Caleb Hammer?

  Interest?

• 22:41Speaker 05

  Yeah.

• 22:41Caleb Hammer?

  Yes, it is.

• 22:43Speaker 05

But that interest goes back to me, right?

• 22:44Caleb Hammer?

What the fuck do you mean by that? How do you think you, you, you, you, you, you make money? How does that? In what world does a loan make money for you? What are you talking about?

• 22:55Speaker 05

No, I'm not saying that it makes money for me, what I'm saying is like.

• 22:57Caleb Hammer?

How do you say it goes back to you? I'm so confused.

• 22:59Speaker 05

So like you take out the 401k loan, right? And it stops accruing any like extra money from that, but you, like, you got me confused, okay?

• 23:10Caleb Hammer?

  You have me confused.

• 23:11Speaker 05

You got, you got me confused, listen, okay, so.

• 23:13Caleb Hammer?

I just want you to tell me what you think is happening.

• 23:16Speaker 05

  It's not, like, it's not.

• 23:22Speaker 05

It's not like a actual loan, right?

• 23:25Caleb Hammer?

  Why wouldn't it be?

• 23:25Speaker 05

I'm paying myself back, basically, right? Yeah, paying myself back, hundred percent, paying myself back.

• 23:33Speaker 05

I don't know how it works.

• 23:34Caleb Hammer?

Paying yourself back, but what do you mean by that? Like, yes, all of a sudden you have, the money is kind of like, if you want to think about it as yours again, you can kind of think about it like that. But the interest on it, that's them making money off of the loan, not you.

• 23:50Speaker 05

I don't know, the way that I understood it was like-

• 23:52Caleb Hammer?

Okay, whoa, whoa, whoa, what were you talking about? What were you talking about?

• 23:56Speaker 05

So I'm thinking about taking another one out.

• 23:58Caleb Hammer?

Why? How much in for fucking what? Are you getting another house?

• 24:04Speaker 05

  No, no, no, no.

• 24:05Caleb Hammer?

Wait, do you still owe on that other 401K loan?

• 24:07Speaker 05

I do, I owe eight thousand.

• 24:08Caleb Hammer?

Will they allow you to take a second one out?

• 24:10Speaker 05

  No.

• 24:12Caleb Hammer?

Then what the fuck are you even talking about?

• 24:14Speaker 05

So you have to pay off the current one to take out another?

• 24:16Caleb Hammer?

What do you owe on the other one?

• 24:17Speaker 05

I owe eight thousand right now.

• 24:19Caleb Hammer?

  You don't have eight thousand!

• 24:21Speaker 05

Well, I get like a small bonus at the end of the year, and it varies based on like store sales, right?

• 24:26Caleb Hammer?

So you're gonna use a small bonus to pay off a loan so that you can borrow a larger loan?

• 24:33Speaker 05

  Yeah.

• 24:35Caleb Hammer?

  For what?

• 24:36Speaker 05

To pay off, so like I have my, I have three, no, I have two credit cards that need to be paid off, right? And then I have my car payment. So this is my idea, and I think it's, like, I've thought this through and I think it's like a really good idea. This is what I really like, I want to do.

• 24:51Caleb Hammer?

I would love for you to say it.

• 24:53Speaker 05

It's coming, hold on. So like, what I'm gonna do?

• 24:56Caleb Hammer?

He fucking forty year old says every day.

• 25:00Speaker 05

Okay. I'm kind of offended for him, but anyways, you're being mean to him.

• 25:08Caleb Hammer?

He's the one who has a child and he's fucking somebody that's with-

• 25:12Speaker 05

  Yeah, he's just, anyways, anyways.

• 25:14Caleb Hammer?

Can I call him in the post show?

• 25:16Speaker 05

Dude's not gonna answer, no, he hundred percent has my number blocked. What?

• 25:21Caleb Hammer?

  Really?

• 25:22Speaker 05

  Why would he not?

• 25:23Caleb Hammer?

Why would it have your number blocked? Cause you guys are, you said you're talking in June.

• 25:27Speaker 05

Yeah, that's been like six months.

• 25:28Caleb Hammer?

And then you, a few months before that.

• 25:30Speaker 05

I did, first of all, I never said that.

• 25:34Speaker 05

I didn't use those words at all.

• 25:35Caleb Hammer?

  Oh, you sexed him.

• 25:37Speaker 05

Well, I didn't say that either, but anyways.

• 25:39Caleb Hammer?

But that's what you said, though.

• 25:40Speaker 05

No, not really. Look, you got me all discombobled. I forgot what I was even saying.

• 25:45Caleb Hammer?

  Combobbled?

• 25:46Speaker 05

The dis- the discombobled, yes. Anyways.

• 25:50Caleb Hammer?

How do you run a store?

• 25:52Speaker 05

  Well.

• 25:52Caleb Hammer?

How do you run employees? Do they have to depend on you for anything?

• 25:56Speaker 05

Yeah, no, I'm good at my job.

• 25:56Caleb Hammer?

You have me squeezing on this thing, cause this is insane. This conversation's insane.

• 26:00Speaker 05

  Oh, that's a you problem.

• 26:02Caleb Hammer?

It is, but it's also a you problem.

• 26:04Speaker 05

  I'm not over here.

• 26:04Caleb Hammer?

If we're trying to get some results in the end, it's also a you problem, cause I can't follow what you're talking about. You haven't even told me what you want to borrow this for.

• 26:12Speaker 05

That's where we were, okay. So, what my plan is, is to pay off the 401K loan. So I can take out.

• 26:18Caleb Hammer?

If you get that bonus as large as enough.

• 26:20Speaker 05

So I can take out another loan and pay off my, all my credit cards, which is two credit cards. Pay off my car loan and pay off, seems like those.

• 26:30Caleb Hammer?

  Car loan?

• 26:33Speaker 05

I think that's it. So I can pay off those three things, right? And then I can take my insurance, which is right now like almost $400. I can take that down to like a minimum.

• 26:44Caleb Hammer?

  Whoa, whoa, whoa.

• 26:45Speaker 05

  Awfully feisty over there.

• 26:46Caleb Hammer?

  Uh.

• 26:49Caleb Hammer?

But usually, i- if you have good credit, even the interest rate on a 401K loan is 1% to 2% over like the federal loan rate. It would probably be 8% to 9% if you have good credit. What's your credit score?

• 27:01Speaker 05

Uh, it's like in the 500s.

• 27:02Caleb Hammer?

What the [bleep] are you gonna do? You're gonna get like a what? A 15% [bleep] loan on your 401K? Wait, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. The one that you currently have.

• 27:11Speaker 05

  Yeah.

• 27:12Caleb Hammer?

Obviously, the, the, most likely, and what typically happens, is the money that's hitting your account is post you making a payment on it. Cause it probably takes before you see your money.

• 27:20Speaker 05

  Yeah, it takes out.

• 27:21Caleb Hammer?

What is the interest rate on your current 401K loan? And you said it's 9,000? You said it's 9,000 401K, okay.

• 27:31Caleb Hammer?

  Go ahead.

• 27:32Speaker 05

Okay, so, um, I'm gonna pay off all of my loans and then I'm gonna take my-

• 27:37Caleb Hammer?

No, I said, what's the interest rate on it?

• 27:41Speaker 05

  I think it's eleven percent.

• 27:44Caleb Hammer?

What are you doing? For why?

• 27:47Speaker 05

But I'm not a hundred percent sure. That actually doesn't sound right.

• 27:50Caleb Hammer?

  Part of a down payment?

• 27:51Speaker 05

That doesn't sound right. Might be a type of thing. I don't remember.

• 27:54Caleb Hammer?

Even eight percent, you're keeping up with just the average stock market return from beginning to end of forever.

• 27:59Speaker 05

  Yeah.

• 27:59Caleb Hammer?

That's the average for a down payment. That's stupid. You could've got like a day.

• 28:04Speaker 05

But, but, but, but, but, listen, listen.

• 28:07Caleb Hammer?

  No, no, no, no.

• 28:08Speaker 05

I've got, I've got fifty thousand dollars in my 401K. I'm twenty seven years old.

• 28:13Caleb Hammer?

I was the person talking. I'm gonna talk.

• 28:17Speaker 05

I feel like I'm doing pretty good.

• 28:19Caleb Hammer?

I was the person talking. I'm just saying.

• 28:23Speaker 05

I feel like fifty thousand for twenty seven years old, right?

• 28:27Caleb Hammer?

  You're relatively on track to.

• 28:29Speaker 05

  Am I on track?

• 28:30Caleb Hammer?

Shut the f- up. I'm gonna finish a thought. Shut the f- up. You're gonna be to the, close to that sixty five thousand that we'd want you to be at thirty.

• 28:38Speaker 05

  Yeah.

• 28:39Caleb Hammer?

That part is good. However, you don't f- and own any of it. You're gonna borrow half of it. And you're gonna be paying interest. All the return that you're gonna be getting is gonna be eaten up with that. Cause again, if I f- and if I open my brokerage right now, Mu Mu, and I open my Mu Mu app, great, and I buy some S and P five hundred, that's averaging like a ten percent. Ten percent. And if you're at eleven percent, eleven percent, or the eight percent of the average stock market gain up, down, all years combined, you're not beating it. You're losing what you are supposed to be doing, which is taking advantage of time in the marketplace right now. Time. That is your best wealth building tool, is time in the market.

• 29:20Speaker 05

I feel like I'm ahead of like where people for my age normally are, so.

• 29:25Caleb Hammer?

In certain ways, but again, that whole,

• 29:29Caleb Hammer?

you're gonna borrow against half of it. There's fifty thousand in here. Uh.

• 29:41Caleb Hammer?

But eight thousand is the outstanding loan. So again, it's just like you're really at forty-two, you have forty-two thousand vested. So like, and then it's gonna, you're gonna have like twenty-five thousand vested, once you're done with your little plan here. What's the payment that comes out of your pay for this 401k loan on a monthly basis?

• 30:00Speaker 05

It's like a hundred and something dollars.

• 30:02Caleb Hammer?

And what are you invested in? That's gonna take for, wait, but at eleven percent, that's gonna take forever to pay off.

• 30:06Speaker 05

Well, we need to like to burn that. Cause like eleven seems like a lot. Maybe it's six.

• 30:11Caleb Hammer?

No, you can't go from eleven to eight to six. You don't, no. And also if your credit score is at five, no, it's not.

• 30:17Speaker 05

  Five hundred? My credit score?

• 30:18Caleb Hammer?

In the fives. It's absolutely not.

• 30:21Speaker 05

But when I bought my house, it was in the seven hundreds, like high seven hundreds. Almost eight hundred.

• 30:28Caleb Hammer?

That still takes forever to pay off. And even still, regardless, if it's five thirty, your score is five thirty for fuck's sake. So if you pay off this 401k, how? How? What, what did you do to fuck up your life so bad? Wait, why'd you go from being in a position where like you were ahead of the game to like starting to destroy things?

• 30:46Speaker 05

  So.

• 30:46Caleb Hammer?

  How? How did this happen?

• 30:48Speaker 05

I, like we were talking about, and we got super sidetracked, right? But I ended up leaving my job, right? Um, and I was only gone for eight months, but.

• 31:01Caleb Hammer?

What do you mean only eight months? You do not understand a single thing in this world. Only eight months? That is significant. What did you do?

• 31:11Speaker 05

  So during that eight months.

• 31:13Caleb Hammer?

Wait, did you get fired or did you leave?

• 31:14Speaker 05

  No, I, I, I left.

• 31:16Caleb Hammer?

  What was it?

• 31:18Speaker 05

So it was nothing to do with like the job.

• 31:20Caleb Hammer?

  What was the job?

• 31:21Speaker 05

Oh, it was what I currently do. It was.

• 31:23Caleb Hammer?

What, what did you do for eight months? Why'd you leave?

• 31:26Speaker 05

Okay, so you know, I, I had my little, my little breakdown, right?

• 31:31Caleb Hammer?

Oh, yes, because the dude who was a million years older than you, who had a kid, was sticking it in constantly.

• 31:35Speaker 05

  He's not even that old.

• 31:37Caleb Hammer?

And you couldn't, you couldn't leave him. You couldn't get away from him, cause you just keep going back like an addict. Go on, an addict. Get it?

• 31:45Speaker 05

Love him to death, still do. But anyways.

• 31:48Caleb Hammer?

Are you ever gonna live a life? Are you ever gonna find someone? No, you're not at that point. If you're just addicted to this dude who's a million years older than you, who has a baby and a lady he is with, the one that created the child with him, you're never gonna have a life. That's so sad to see. I don't want you to do that. Major channel announcement. Budgeting, budgeting, budgeting. It's a new year. We're all trying to budget. • 34:02Caleb Hammer?

Can I give you free, three free therapy sessions? And please talk to them about this with our partner, Sondra Mind. Can you please?

• 34:08Speaker 05

I don't need like any therapy. I'm good.

• 34:11Caleb Hammer?

  You are not good.

• 34:11Speaker 05

Like therapy myself. Me, myself and I, we talk and we're good, like hundred percent.

• 34:15Caleb Hammer?

No, you cannot therapy yourself at all. You're obviously beyond fucked up and you keep going back to this guy. I just want you to be able to live a life. I want you to be able to live a life. It would be so sad seeing you hung up on this dude all the way through your thirties and forties.

• 34:31Speaker 05

We're, we are done. Like we're not, we're not doing it.

• 34:33Caleb Hammer?

For now, you've gone back and forth for six years.

• 34:36Speaker 05

  It is a long time.

• 34:37Caleb Hammer?

I think we're gonna call him on my number in the post show and I'm gonna tell him to get the fuck away.

• 34:41Speaker 05

No, no, no, no. If we call him, you have to be quiet and we'll just, we'll just talk. Me and him.

• 34:48Caleb Hammer?

We'll do that in the post show then. We'll do that in the post show then.

• 34:51Speaker 05

He's definitely gonna answer the phone for me.

• 34:52Caleb Hammer?

Oh my gosh, this conversation is a mess.

• 34:54Speaker 05

Anyways, you keep getting me sidetracked. Let me tell my story. So this is a good story, right?

• 35:00Speaker 07

  Priceline Negotiator.

• 35:02Speaker 06

  It's me, the.

• 35:03Speaker 07

  Priceline Negotiator.

• 35:05Speaker 06

We don't need the jingle twice.

• 35:06Speaker 07

  What about a third time?

• 35:08Speaker 06

Stop it. This is about vacation inflation and how Priceline negotiates amazing deals on hotels, flights and rental cars.

• 35:15Speaker 07

  Seems like you just started.

• 35:17Speaker 06

Yeah, but I didn't mention that you can save up to sixty percent off hotels in the Priceline app.

• 35:21Speaker 07

  Time to read the timeline.

• 35:23Speaker 06

Fine. No one deals more deals than.

• 35:25Speaker 07

  Priceline.

• 35:26Speaker 06

  Please stop.

• 35:26Speaker 07

  Priceline.

• 35:28Speaker 06

  Touche.

• 35:28Speaker 07

  Priceline.

• 35:29Speaker 06

  Priceline.

• 35:30Speaker 05

  I quit my job.

• 35:30Caleb Hammer?

  This isn't story time.

• 35:32Speaker 05

I didn't quit my job. So like I left, I left my job for a minute, right? And I went on, so my brother was getting married. I went on the bachelorette trip in Florida.

• 35:46Speaker 05

  And I was a bridesmaid.

• 35:47Caleb Hammer?

  For nine months?

• 35:48Speaker 05

  No.

• 35:50Speaker 05

And I was a bridesmaid. So like I had to pay for, and this all goes into like the credit cards, right? So I paid for the hair and makeup and the dress and some of that, not all of it, but some of it went to the credit cards. And then I went on the trip to Florida, the bachelorette trip. Some of that went on to the credit cards and then directly.

• 36:07Caleb Hammer?

Buy forty year old male strippers?

• 36:10Speaker 05

Directly after the wedding, I went to Disney World with my nieces. And then after that, I took a little road trip.

• 36:20Caleb Hammer?

  How much was Disney?

• 36:21Speaker 05

  I was road tripping.

• 36:22Caleb Hammer?

But why not work during all this?

• 36:25Speaker 05

You can't. You can't work and do all that traveling.

• 36:29Caleb Hammer?

Wait, how much traveling were you doing? Was this back to back to back or was there any gaps in between?

• 36:33Speaker 05

  Um.

• 36:34Caleb Hammer?

Cause if you took a couple of days off at your job to travel somewhere.

• 36:37Speaker 05

No, no, at most it was like a week in between these things. So like.

• 36:40Caleb Hammer?

Why, why, why, why do all this though? Why throw away everything?

• 36:45Speaker 05

  In all seriousness.

• 36:46Caleb Hammer?

Wait, and you already owned a home?

• 36:47Speaker 05

No, I didn't own the home yet. I didn't own the home.

• 36:50Caleb Hammer?

  Oh my gosh.

• 36:50Speaker 05

So like, in all seriousness, I was having like a really hard time.

• 36:54Caleb Hammer?

Yeah, meaning, hey, maybe you should actually talk to a professional.

• 36:58Speaker 05

And, um, you know, it just seemed like everybody else in my family was like, kind of like moving and like their worlds were turning and mine wasn't like I wasn't doing anything. I felt like I was just working constantly, constantly, constantly and like, I don't know.

• 37:12Caleb Hammer?

No offense, won't it feel like that if you're endlessly hung up on this dude? Won't it feel like that forever?

• 37:18Speaker 05

  Yeah, and I think.

• 37:19Caleb Hammer?

  You'll have these spells constantly.

• 37:21Speaker 05

Part of the issue was like, it was just everything that was going on in my life, right? So anyways, I ended up leaving my job. I did the Disney thing and then I went on a little road trip. I was planning on going like from Tennessee all the way around.

• 37:35Caleb Hammer?

  All the way around.

• 37:36Speaker 05

All the way around the thing.

• 37:37Caleb Hammer?

  The thing.

• 37:38Speaker 05

Yeah. But anyways, I got to, um, South Dakota.

• 37:42Caleb Hammer?

  Okay.

• 37:43Speaker 05

And then I ended up turning around.

• 37:45Caleb Hammer?

It's the classic road trip destination.

• 37:47Speaker 05

Have you ever been? It's pretty.

• 37:49Caleb Hammer?

  Nope.

• 37:53Caleb Hammer?

Okay. So that was nine months?

• 37:56Speaker 05

I went to South Dakota and then I came back home.

• 37:58Caleb Hammer?

  That was all nine months?

• 38:00Speaker 05

Well, it was, no, it was eight months during this whole thing. It was.

• 38:04Caleb Hammer?

You could have worked in there. That was not enough for eight months.

• 38:07Speaker 05

Well, I wanted, I wanted to take, the plan was to take like a six month hiatus and just kind of like reset.

• 38:13Caleb Hammer?

And you got your job back like that?

• 38:15Speaker 05

It was to reset my mind.

• 38:17Caleb Hammer?

  My mind, yes.

• 38:20Caleb Hammer?

You got your job back like that?

• 38:22Speaker 05

  That hurts my family.

• 38:22Caleb Hammer?

You got your job back immediately?

• 38:24Speaker 05

  That hurt my family.

• 38:25Caleb Hammer?

  I don't give a.

• 38:27Speaker 05

Um, well, I mean, yeah, cause like I'm a good employee, right? Like I feel like I do a really good job at my job.

• 38:32Caleb Hammer?

Leave without warning for nine months.

• 38:35Speaker 05

Um, you know, I'm, I'm, I think I'm, I feel like I'm good at my job and obviously I am, or they wouldn't have wanted me to come back, right? So I actually got a phone call from one of the people that I had worked with previously.

• 38:44Caleb Hammer?

I'm just starting to think the talent pool in that town with five people might be small.

• 38:50Speaker 05

With five people? Come on now. I don't think so. I think it was me, you know, because I'm just me.

• 38:58Speaker 05

  Right?

• 39:00Speaker 05

You had to be there. Anyways, um, so I actually got a phone call and it was like, hey, do you want your job back? And I was like, yeah, because I'm kind of like, I wasn't.

• 39:10Caleb Hammer?

  Two thousand people.

• 39:11Speaker 05

I wasn't running, what is that, the Florence?

• 39:13Caleb Hammer?

  Yes.

• 39:16Speaker 05

  Yeah, it's a small town.

• 39:18Caleb Hammer?

What do you, what do you think you are financially right now? This has been a mess of an audit. Uh, usually I ask this more early on, but it's a, whatever.

• 39:26Speaker 05

I feel like you got sidetracked.

• 39:27Caleb Hammer?

Where do you think you are? Zero to tens, zero being the absolute worst, ten being the absolute best in your finances today. Where do you think you are?

• 39:34Speaker 05

  I think I'm a two.

• 39:35Caleb Hammer?

Okay, yeah, okay. You want your Hammer financial score? It's free. Link in the description below. Figure out where your finances stand. And if you want to be on this show, you want to come down here, Austin, Texas, get a little. Uh, but it's also fun. It's a good time. Well, have fun. You having fun so far?

• 39:52Speaker 05

  So much fun.

• 39:53Caleb Hammer?

  Okay.

• 39:53Speaker 05

  All of it.

• 39:54Caleb Hammer?

Yeah, go to CalebHammer.com slash apply. Uh, we'll have you here. It'll be a good time. And I look forward to that and we'll connect you with resources like we're going to connect you with. Please do the therapy. You need it more than almost anyone I've talked to recently.

• 40:04Speaker 05

  Oh, my God.

• 40:05Caleb Hammer?

I'm not even kidding. That's not a joke. It's not an insult. Do it.

• 40:08Speaker 05

  Do you really think so?

• 40:09Caleb Hammer?

Yes, I encourage therapy. I do therapy. Therapy's good. Regardless of where you're at, you could be perfect and therapy would still be good.

• 40:16Speaker 05

I don't really, like, I don't do that whole thing, you know, like the mental health. I mean, I support it. You gotta be in close.

• 40:22Caleb Hammer?

Why not do the whole thing?

• 40:23Speaker 05

I don't do that whole thing.

• 40:24Caleb Hammer?

Why not do the whole thing?

• 40:25Speaker 05

  Like, I'm fine.

• 40:26Caleb Hammer?

You're not fine. You're not, objectively.

• 40:32Speaker 05

  I feel like I am.

• 40:34Caleb Hammer?

How do you think that, though? You're here.

• 40:37Speaker 05

Well, no, I mean financially, I do need, like, I got a little bit sidetracked and my finances got off, but previously I was doing really well for myself, I feel like. Especially for my age.

• 40:47Caleb Hammer?

How'd you meet him, by the way?

• 40:51Speaker 05

Um, we met at a tattoo shop.

• 40:54Speaker 05

  He was the tattoo artist.

• 40:55Caleb Hammer?

Where you find the best men.

• 40:57Speaker 05

He was the tattoo artist. But, you know, we really, and you're gonna love this part.

• 41:01Caleb Hammer?

  Not doubt.

• 41:02Speaker 05

I felt like when we first met, because like, I don't drink and I don't smoke and I don't do any of that kinda stuff.

• 41:07Caleb Hammer?

You're just a degenerate in every other way. Kinda like me. It's fair.

• 41:11Speaker 05

But, um, I don't do any of that kinda stuff and neither did he, you know, and like, we were kinda talking about how like, neither one of us drink or smoke or anything like that.

• 41:20Caleb Hammer?

Just twenty thousand of the forty-two thousand that live there are all his children.

• 41:23Speaker 05

We, we kind of, um, you know. It's hard to find people like that, it really is. They don't like-

• 41:30Caleb Hammer?

You might need to go out and explore a little bit in life.

• 41:32Speaker 05

  Well, no, that's true too.

• 41:34Caleb Hammer?

Okay, whatever, whatever, stop it. What is this first thing that I'm even looking at? Because here's the thing. Here's the fucking thing. You ready? Here it is!

• 41:42Speaker 05

  Okay.

• 41:43Caleb Hammer?

You owe four, you owed eight thousand two hundred twenty-four, now you owe eight thousand four hundred eleven. What is this? Is this a credit card? Uh, bread cash back? What the fuck is that?

• 41:52Speaker 05

They're giving you cash back on the bread?

• 41:56Speaker 05

  I don't know.

• 41:57Caleb Hammer?

I don't see any cash back happening! You know what I see? I see forty-one dollars in fees because you're late! Cause you're late! Cause you're not paying it. You make good money, especially for that area! Especially for that fucking area!

• 42:11Speaker 05

But, the, I haven't spent on that thing since like, November of last year.

• 42:16Caleb Hammer?

How does that matter? You make over, you make triple the median income? In your city, triple. Triple the median income, yet you are late on a credit card! You're not paying on it!

• 42:27Speaker 05

  Yeah.

• 42:27Caleb Hammer?

Good! First step! Why not fucking make any payments? Why be late? I don't understand! Why have such a shit credit score? Your choice! Why do that? Why live in this situation?

• 42:39Speaker 05

When I first bought my house and I first like, moved in and everything, um, I did not have enough money to cover all of my bills and my house.

• 42:46Caleb Hammer?

Then you couldn't have afforded a fucking house.

• 42:48Speaker 05

Well, when I did the, um, like, when I calculated my payment up and everything, like, I was two hundred dollars short. Based on how much I was making.

• 42:59Speaker 05

  But I had a plan.

• 43:01Caleb Hammer?

How'd you get approved? They'll approve a lot of people for a lot of bad loans, but if you were 200 short, based on your own projections, how the?

• 43:08Speaker 05

My credit score was really good and my income.

• 43:10Caleb Hammer?

That is not everything. But, but, but, but, but you said with your income, you're 200 short.

• 43:13Speaker 05

Well, I was estimating everything. Like I was estimating the water and the electric and.

• 43:18Caleb Hammer?

If you see you're 200 short, why would you get it? Why would you possibly fucking get it?

• 43:23Speaker 05

  I needed a house and I didn't.

• 43:24Caleb Hammer?

No, you didn't. You could have rented. No, you did not.

• 43:26Speaker 05

I didn't want to rent and then I have my.

• 43:28Caleb Hammer?

  What? But you could have.

• 43:29Speaker 05

I have my little puppy dog, so it was really hard.

• 43:30Caleb Hammer?

Yeah, I've had my puppy dog in apartments.

• 43:33Speaker 05

It was really hard to find somewhere that was like, would let you bring pets and I found one place.

• 43:38Caleb Hammer?

• 45:41Speaker 05

I found one place and the rent was 1600 a month and I was like.

• 45:45Caleb Hammer?

  What's your mortgage?

• 45:46Speaker 05

  It's 14.

• 45:48Caleb Hammer?

That's not, you could have looked, you totally could have looked more. I know people are not willing to look enough on the show. That is this endless common thread when it comes to loans shopping.

• 45:56Speaker 05

I did have like a time limit because I was actually moving to.

• 46:00Caleb Hammer?

  What?

• 46:01Speaker 05

I was moving out of Tennessee.

• 46:02Caleb Hammer?

  What time limit?

• 46:03Speaker 05

I was moving out of Tennessee.

• 46:04Caleb Hammer?

Yes, what was the time limit?

• 46:05Speaker 05

Alabama, it was like, I had a month.

• 46:08Caleb Hammer?

That's reasonable. Would I prefer to, of course, but I've done it in a month. We've all done it in a month. I've done, when I moved to Austin, I did it in a week.

• 46:18Speaker 05

  With the puppy?

• 46:19Caleb Hammer?

  With a cat.

• 46:20Speaker 05

  I feel like that's different.

• 46:22Caleb Hammer?

It's worse that piss stains and they rip up carpet. Trust me as a landlord, I would rather someone have a dog than a cat.

• 46:29Speaker 05

Yeah, I guess that's true because I do tear stuff up.

• 46:31Caleb Hammer?

  Yeah.

• 46:32Speaker 05

Unless they're litter box trained and then it's a little bit different. But I couldn't find anywhere that was like a reasonable price where you could bring a pet. So, and then I also.

• 46:40Caleb Hammer?

Look, I know for a fact you did not.

• 46:41Speaker 05

  Let me invest.

• 46:42Caleb Hammer?

  To that town.

• 46:43Speaker 05

I wanted to invest in something.

• 46:45Caleb Hammer?

Yes, I agree, but it's not an investment if you, if you can't make your payments.

• 46:48Speaker 05

Like just throwing money away at rent, I felt like.

• 46:50Caleb Hammer?

It's not an investment if you can't make the payments.

• 46:53Speaker 05

But I had a plan, you didn't listen to the plan.

• 46:55Caleb Hammer?

  What was your amazing plan?

• 46:58Speaker 05

  So.

• 46:59Caleb Hammer?

Was it as good as winning that guy over because that's worked so well?

• 47:02Speaker 05

The plan was, so like that town is kind of like a college town. So I was going to DoorDash for like the extra money. That was the plan and I did DoorDash for.

• 47:15Speaker 05

A couple of months. But then I actually got a raise at work, so it was that.

• 47:19Caleb Hammer?

What are you making and what do you make now? Oh my gosh, that time was in the middle of nowhere.

• 47:24Speaker 05

  So my.

• 47:25Caleb Hammer?

It was really in the middle of nowhere.

• 47:26Speaker 05

My bi-weekly was fourteen and then when I got my raise, it turned into like an eighteen or sixteen. Maybe it was sixteen and then turned into eighteen.

• 47:34Caleb Hammer?

But now you're saying because the mortgage is hard or whatever?

• 47:38Speaker 05

Plus, like the door dashing was really not the greatest investment because the gas was, it was like almost three dollars a gallon, which I know other places is a little bit more expensive, but for me that was expensive and I wasn't really making that much money.

• 47:52Caleb Hammer?

Why are you making these payments now?

• 47:57Speaker 05

I think I'm so short money. If you look at that.

• 48:02Speaker 06

  It's me, the.

• 48:05Speaker 06

We don't need the jingle twice. Stop it. This is about vacation inflation and how Priceline negotiates amazing deals on hotels, flights and rental cars.

• 48:17Speaker 06

Yeah, but I didn't mention that you can save up to sixty percent off hotels in the Priceline app.

• 48:23Speaker 06

Fine. No one deals more deals than. Please stop. Touche. Priceline.

• 48:30Caleb Hammer?

That's what happens when you spend a thousand five hundred dollars more than you make. Now, because you're behind payments, you f***. That's what happens. You f***. That's what happens. What do you think happens when you are behind on payments? It was probably like a fifty dollar minimum of the payment.

• 48:47Speaker 05

No, it was always like pretty expensive, that card.

• 48:50Caleb Hammer?

You don't know, you haven't made a payment in how, dude, you have.

• 48:53Speaker 05

To start with, it was like four hundred dollars and now it's like six hundred dollars a month and it's just too much money for me to pay.

• 48:58Caleb Hammer?

  Listen!

• 49:00Speaker 05

  It's just.

• 49:01Caleb Hammer?

Listen! You've had five missed payments, so there's no way it's that much. So this is actually likely with that forty one dollar fee. Uh. Forty one times five, so two hundred five.

• 49:19Caleb Hammer?

Minimum monthly payment was likely two? No. Okay, then you, and then divide, and then divide number five, your minimum monthly payment was about forty-eight bucks.

• 49:29Speaker 05

  No.

• 49:30Caleb Hammer?

  Yes.

• 49:30Speaker 05

  No way.

• 49:31Caleb Hammer?

  Yes.

• 49:31Speaker 05

It was never forty-eight dollars. Like, if it had been forty-eight dollars, I would've-

• 49:34Caleb Hammer?

There's no way this math makes sense then, with those fees added, which would be, no, that'd be added to the overall balance. Okay, one second, let me think, let me think. Shut, shut, shut, shut, shut.

• 49:43Speaker 05

  I would've paid forty-eight dollars.

• 49:44Caleb Hammer?

  Shut, shut, shut, shut, shut.

• 49:45Speaker 05

  I would've paid forty-eight dollars. There's no way-

• 49:47Caleb Hammer?

It was likely eighty-nine dollars. Cause it is stacked up for five fucking months!

• 49:52Speaker 05

It was not, no. It was not.

• 49:55Caleb Hammer?

I'm gonna say a hundred, I'm gonna say a hundred. I'm gonna say a fucking hundred, but I also don't think you know a single thing.

• 50:00Speaker 05

I think a hundred is a little, you're like, you're, you're a little bit low on that, but a hundred is more, it's like closer to-

• 50:06Caleb Hammer?

How can I trust you in any way to be a reliable narrator for your finances? You are not able to adequately speak on anything we've talked about so far.

• 50:17Caleb Hammer?

Listen, two hundred and five dollars of fees this year, one thousand seven hundred seventy-seven dollars of interest this year so far. That's disgusting.

• 50:25Speaker 05

  Yeah, it's a lot. It's a lot.

• 50:27Caleb Hammer?

  Disgusting!

• 50:29Speaker 05

  Not good. Not good.

• 50:30Caleb Hammer?

  That's fucking insane.

• 50:32Speaker 05

  But like, honestly-

• 50:32Caleb Hammer?

And you don't give a, why not make the payment? I still don't understand. Cause you say you have too much. Cause you say you, you don't have enough. You spent a thousand five hundred dollars more than you've made this last month.

• 50:43Speaker 05

  Like, at one point-

• 50:44Caleb Hammer?

What? Your mortgage is twelve hundred!

• 50:45Speaker 05

At one point, it was so much-

• 50:47Caleb Hammer?

  Your mortgage is twelve hundred.

• 50:48Speaker 05

  No, my mortgage is fourteen.

• 50:49Caleb Hammer?

Your mortgage is fourteen hundred. Congratulations, net-

• 50:52Speaker 05

You might as well say five.

• 50:54Caleb Hammer?

Shut. That's not how that, well, it might as well, how have you, your mortgage is- Your mortgage is thirty-seven percent of your income.

• 51:02Speaker 05

It's fifteen ninety-eight. So, wouldn't you round that up to fifteen? Or, it's fourteen ninety-eight, so wouldn't you round that up to fifteen?

• 51:08Caleb Hammer?

  Fourteen ninety-eight.

• 51:09Speaker 05

Like, we're literally a couple of-

• 51:11Caleb Hammer?

Three thousand seven hundred eight dollars.

• 51:13Speaker 05

  So, it's basically fifteen.

• 51:13Caleb Hammer?

It's forty percent of your income, forty percent of your income. That means you have sixty percent left. Is that a little on the high side? Absolutely. But that means you have money left. And of course, you also said you get these bonuses. So regardless-

• 51:28Speaker 05

Not bonuses, not plural, the ones.

• 51:31Caleb Hammer?

Okay, you get the bonus. If you're suggesting you can pay off an eight thousand dollar loan with a bonus, then that is a substantial bonus, lady. So that means likely for your entire annual income, your mortgage is probably closer to about thirty seven percent of your income, okay? Meaning you have a substantial part of your income left. That is not why you did not pay a one hundred dollar minimum monthly payment. Or even stacked up, that is not why you are not paying a six hundred fifty dollar payment now.

• 52:03Speaker 05

I was there for the whole thing. I felt every second of it.

• 52:06Caleb Hammer?

You're not anywhere. You don't live in reality. You're nowhere. You are not on the same plane that we all are.

• 52:12Speaker 05

There was a point in time last year when I could not-

• 52:16Caleb Hammer?

Forty-six minutes into this thing and I'm going to the second document.

• 52:20Speaker 05

I couldn't even buy gas. Like, it was that bad. Like, I was struggling.

• 52:23Caleb Hammer?

It can't be because of your mortgage though, because we know your mortgage at its worst is forty percent of your income. So other expenses are being done somewhere.

• 52:32Speaker 05

My electric bill was like three hundred dollars during the summer, which, I mean, I'm sure you-

• 52:35Caleb Hammer?

It is not making up for it. We'll do the budget at the end. We'll do the fucking budget at the end.

• 52:39Speaker 05

It gets hot during the summer. And I'm not used to having to like, so I have a three-bedroom-

• 52:44Caleb Hammer?

  To dead like?

• 52:45Speaker 05

  Three, what?

• 52:47Caleb Hammer?

  You're not used to what?

• 52:48Speaker 05

I'm not used to like having to like heat and cool.

• 52:53Caleb Hammer?

What was the word you said? Why can I not understand you? What is the word that you said? I'm not used to having dead like.

• 53:00Speaker 05

I didn't say that. What are you talking about? And I'm not used to having to like-

• 53:05Caleb Hammer?

Am I having a stroke? Am I having a stroke or are you inaudible with your accent?

• 53:12Speaker 05

  I think the problem is-

• 53:13Caleb Hammer?

Do I need to find a, uh, like a, like a-

• 53:16Caleb Hammer?

Homeless hillbilly in a translate for you?

• 53:18Speaker 05

Not the homeless hillbilly. No, not the homeless hillbilly. I think the issue is that you're not from the south, man.

• 53:25Caleb Hammer?

South, but I live in here.

• 53:27Speaker 05

Yeah, but the Texan accent is definitely different than-

• 53:29Caleb Hammer?

I don't care. This is not a conversation.

• 53:33Caleb Hammer?

  You have a car?

• 53:34Speaker 05

  I do have a car.

• 53:35Caleb Hammer?

  What's your car?

• 53:36Speaker 05

So I have a Jeep Renegade.

• 53:38Caleb Hammer?

  Yeah.

• 53:38Speaker 05

  Twenty fifteen.

• 53:40Caleb Hammer?

  Miles?

• 53:41Speaker 05

  Ooh, one thirty-six, I think.

• 53:44Caleb Hammer?

So you should prepare for the worst. Jeeps aren't historically known for being the most forever reliable. Not for being the worst either, but, okay, how's she doing?

• 53:53Speaker 05

She's not doing great, like, she does this weird thing when you go to like, take off, it's like, boom boom.

• 53:58Caleb Hammer?

Take off? You mean accelerate? Like, when you drive?

• 54:02Speaker 05

Well, like, when you push the gas.

• 54:03Caleb Hammer?

  It goes boom boom?

• 54:05Speaker 07

Oh, we're so sorry to hear about your brother that passed away. He gets five big booms. Boom! Boom!

• 54:12Caleb Hammer?

  What's boom boom?

• 54:13Speaker 07

  Boom! Boom!

• 54:14Speaker 05

No, not the boom boom. No.

• 54:16Caleb Hammer?

  What does it do?

• 54:17Speaker 05

Not boom boom. It goes, like, duh duh. It's more like the duh duh duh. Let me, okay, so when you-

• 54:25Caleb Hammer?

  That sounds potentially transmission-related.

• 54:27Speaker 05

  Yeah. Or-

• 54:28Caleb Hammer?

But I also have no idea what the [bleep] you're talking about. I cannot translate-

• 54:32Speaker 05

  I feel-

• 54:33Caleb Hammer?

Dude, I can barely lis- I can barely understand the words you're saying. When you start talking in sound effects, I do not know what you're saying.

• 54:39Speaker 05

So I feel like it might be a filter issue, because like, I think the-

• 54:42Caleb Hammer?

Filter? Filter what? The air filter?

• 54:45Speaker 05

Maybe. But I had that changed, so no, I don't think so.

• 54:49Speaker 05

Like, it's not getting gas or something. It's like-

• 54:53Caleb Hammer?

How'd you find your way to Austin? How did you get here without getting lost?

• 54:57Speaker 05

Listen to me, I struggled to get onto the airplane.

• 54:59Caleb Hammer?

  I am not surprised, dude.

• 55:01Speaker 05

It was like a maze in there. And I looked at the map, too.

• 55:04Caleb Hammer?

  Nine thousand seventy dollars.

• 55:06Speaker 05

  Yeah.

• 55:06Caleb Hammer?

Owe on a breaking down car. A car with a transmission failure likely happening.

• 55:10Speaker 05

Like, when I bought that car, they told me that it had one previous owner, and funny story, I went to the Publix, right? And I parked beside this really cool Jeep Wrangler.

• 55:20Caleb Hammer?

  That is funny.

• 55:20Speaker 05

And anyway, the guy comes out, as I'm getting out of my car, the guy that drives this Jeep Wrangler gets, like, is coming out of the store, and we, like, meet each other, and he's like, "Oh my god, that's my car," and I was like, "Oh yeah, like, it sucks." I didn't say that to him, because I felt like it would have been rude. And it maybe would have offended him, but like, seriously, the car's not the best. But anyway, it was a one-owner vehicle. He was like the owner-

• 55:40Caleb Hammer?

  That was your story?

• 55:42Speaker 05

Well, he was telling me about it. He's like, "Oh, that was like, right off the lot. I bought it off the lot, like, great car," and I was like, mm.

• 55:48Caleb Hammer?

I doubt you're maintaining it, because you probably don't even know where the oil goes. Dude-

• 55:55Speaker 05

But like that's not for me to do though, that's for somebody else.

• 55:58Caleb Hammer?

Yeah, if you actually take it.

• 56:00Speaker 05

  Yeah.

• 56:02Speaker 05

Right. And I do. I try to maintain it.

• 56:06Caleb Hammer?

The fucking lights start blinking in there and you're like, oh, it's Christmas time.

• 56:12Speaker 05

I don't talk like that. That hurt my feelings again.

• 56:17Caleb Hammer?

What is the interest rate on this car possibly?

• 56:19Speaker 05

Now that, I think that's eleven.

• 56:21Caleb Hammer?

I think I did this wrong.

• 56:22Speaker 05

That's eleven, I think. I think that was the eleven. The other one was six, this is eleven, I think.

• 56:28Caleb Hammer?

Yeah, I said eleven percent. Eleven percent on a car that is breaking down, what are you gonna do? Insurance isn't gonna cover a broken transmission.

• 56:34Speaker 05

Well, we don't know that it's breaking down. We just, it's got the some.

• 56:37Caleb Hammer?

Yeah, that's, that sounds, when I had a Nissan Altima and the transmission started to go, which is a brutally expensive fix.

• 56:43Speaker 05

  Yeah.

• 56:44Caleb Hammer?

Well, I mean, you know, foreign in that part, but makes it more expensive. Either way, um.

• 56:49Speaker 05

  Yeah.

• 56:50Caleb Hammer?

That's how, that's what it at least sounds like.

• 56:52Speaker 05

  Hope not. But.

• 56:54Caleb Hammer?

But, but, but that's what makes me nervous is, what's the, what?

• 56:58Speaker 05

  But.

• 56:59Caleb Hammer?

  What is your minimum?

• 57:00Speaker 05

But listen, listen, listen. But, my other plan was like, okay, when I take this other 401k loan out and I get a little bit of extra because I can pay off all of my stuff, then I can pay off that and I can get another vehicle that's like, better and not breaking down with like the extra from the 401k loan.

• 57:16Caleb Hammer?

  What's the minimum payment?

• 57:19Speaker 05

  For the car?

• 57:21Caleb Hammer?

Listen, if you get a 401k loan, it's gonna be like thirteen percent for you. This is, it's not gonna make the difference.

• 57:27Speaker 05

And I feel like I need a little bit more education on the 401k loan because.

• 57:30Caleb Hammer?

Transmission for you with that car is gonna be about three thousand to four thousand five hundred and then obviously this is gonna be labor. Um, so it's probably gonna be like a five thousand dollar job.

• 57:39Speaker 05

Yeah, that's a lot. That's not worth it, honestly.

• 57:42Caleb Hammer?

But you don't have the money and you're just gonna borrow against your 401k forever. What's the point of having built it up in the first place? In your case, especially if you borrowed it well beyond what it's gonna make on average.

• 57:54Caleb Hammer?

Your minimum payment, two seventy, two ninety seven?

• 57:56Speaker 05

  Yeah, kind of expensive.

• 57:58Caleb Hammer?

We think it might be worth around seven thousand if in good condition.

• 58:03Caleb Hammer?

We don't know if it is and they might catch on to that transmission thing if they run a transmission test anyway.

• 58:07Speaker 05

  Yeah.

• 58:08Caleb Hammer?

Uh, okay, so two ninety seven, are you at least making your payments?

• 58:11Speaker 05

Yeah, no, I make my car payments.

• 58:12Caleb Hammer?

Why make that payment but not the last? So why are you picking and choosing?

• 58:16Speaker 05

  I make all of them.

• 58:16Caleb Hammer?

So why not the other one?

• 58:17Speaker 05

Well, I got behind on the bread cash back card.

• 58:20Caleb Hammer?

  No, I'm asking why?

• 58:22Speaker 05

I got behind on it because I honestly was not making enough money to like pay all of my bills. Like I was having a really, really hard time.

• 58:29Caleb Hammer?

You make triple the median income there.

• 58:33Speaker 05

Yeah, but I have, like, I have the house by myself and then I have like the water, the electric, car payment, insurance, like gas, gas was really expensive for a minute there and that was, that was tough.

• 58:47Caleb Hammer?

You're not budgeting. You are not budgeting.

• 58:49Speaker 05

  That was tough.

• 58:50Caleb Hammer?

Go through our budgeting class for sake, please, if you are even able to figure out how to log in. Go through the investing class, go through, because that, that's important eventually. I don't know what funds your 401k thing is in it, actually. I'm very curious, let's talk about that at the end. And also go through the debt class so you can at least understand how to utilize that in a beneficial way and how to pay off bad debt with different strategies. Do that. It's all discounted for you guys, all bundled together for fifteen percent. I recommend anyone go through it, but go through it because you get it for free, okay? Please.

• 59:20Speaker 05

Well, I mean, I have like a lot of expenses and then my mom lives with me. She's...

• 59:24Caleb Hammer?

  Your mom lives with you?

• 59:25Speaker 05

  She does.

• 59:27Caleb Hammer?

How old's your mom? Wait, why does she live with you?

• 59:28Speaker 05

Well, she's, she's in her seventies, right? She had me like...

• 59:31Caleb Hammer?

  Okay, how's her health?

• 59:32Speaker 05

She's, she's okay. I mean, she's, she's not able to work or anything like that. So I mean, I do take care of her.

• 59:38Caleb Hammer?

Seventies, she had you kind of old.

• 59:40Speaker 05

She was forty two when she had me.

• 59:42Caleb Hammer?

Okay. Uh, why does she live with you?

• 59:46Speaker 05

Well, she, she was, when I moved, I moved from Tennessee to Alabama. She stayed in Tennessee and she just wasn't doing well. Like, she was there by herself. Um, I think I was gone for about four to five months.

• 59:59Speaker 06

  It's me, the

• 1:00:02Speaker 06

We don't need the jingle twice. Stop it. This is about vacation inflation and how Priceline negotiates amazing deals on hotels, flights, and rental cars.

• 1:00:14Speaker 06

Yeah, but I didn't mention that you can save up to 60% off hotels in the Priceline app.

• 1:00:20Speaker 06

Fine. No one deals more deals than Please stop. Touche. Priceline.

• 1:00:27Speaker 05

And she just, like I'm saying, she was not doing well.

• 1:00:29Caleb Hammer?

  Yeah.

• 1:00:29Speaker 05

So I didn't want her to be there by herself.

• 1:00:31Caleb Hammer?

Well, I agree. I agree with that.

• 1:00:32Speaker 05

Mentally and physically not okay by herself. So she came to live with me.

• 1:00:36Caleb Hammer?

No, I fully support that. Totally cool.

• 1:00:38Speaker 05

  So I mean,

• 1:00:39Caleb Hammer?

But what is the added expense for you on that? Are you like taking care of groceries? I'm sure she's getting some kind of social security.

• 1:00:44Speaker 05

  Yeah, she does.

• 1:00:45Caleb Hammer?

Okay, so what is the added expense on your end?

• 1:00:47Speaker 05

She buys the food for the house for the most part. Like, she keeps it

• 1:00:50Caleb Hammer?

You have no reason to be behind on bills. In what fucking world?

• 1:00:55Speaker 05

This is what happens. Okay, so like, if I wasn't, if I was living by myself, right, like, the water wouldn't be going. Like, I work constantly. No water, no electric. Like, I feel like my bills would be a little

• 1:01:05Caleb Hammer?

She can't be using that much.

• 1:01:08Speaker 05

She'd be taking a shower like every five minutes. I don't know what to tell you. But like, and the electric stays on. You know, whereas if I, if it was just

• 1:01:14Caleb Hammer?

What's the square footage of your house?

• 1:01:17Speaker 05

  Um, 2,600?

• 1:01:19Caleb Hammer?

Yeah, it's decently sized. And if you don't have like

• 1:01:21Speaker 05

There's three bedrooms, three bathrooms, there's a garage, like

• 1:01:25Caleb Hammer?

Well, yeah, and if, if the air is leaking or stuff like that, yeah, that definitely makes it more expensive.

• 1:01:30Speaker 05

Like, my electric was like 300 and something dollars.

• 1:01:33Caleb Hammer?

You have a Capital One Saver card. How about we talk about that? $5,615.16 on it.

• 1:01:37Speaker 05

  Yeah.

• 1:01:38Caleb Hammer?

With a hundred, 86 dollar minimum payment.

• 1:01:42Caleb Hammer?

So this doesn't make any sense. This really doesn't. You have a $6,000 credit limit. You're pushing it towards that. You started at 5,300. You made the minimum payment, but then you purchased almost $300 of things. Why would you purchase on a credit card that is accruing interest that you are not paying off? That you can't pay off? A thou- $130 in interest just this month alone?

• 1:02:03Speaker 05

I had no money on my debit card and I have to leave a little bit in there because...

• 1:02:06Caleb Hammer?

Yeah, you had no money on your credit card, so debit card? So you should purchase all the bullshit, cuz half, 90% of it is bullshit?

• 1:02:13Speaker 05

I don't know about that. Let me, let's look at it. Cuz I don't feel like it is. If it's TJ Maxx, that's like, I feel essential.

• 1:02:20Caleb Hammer?

Little Caesars, Sheen, going in Speedway and getting a fucking sippy, drinky bullshit Jacks. Going in and getting a drink from Speedway, Five Guys, Pizzeria, Ruby Slipper. Yeah, necessity. Huh? Not even one TJ Maxx on there. You got your Sheen.

• 1:02:43Speaker 05

So, that was when we went on vacation and the Ruby Slipper place...

• 1:02:46Caleb Hammer?

You're vacationing? You can't afford to go on vacation? Why didn't you just go to vacation? You can't afford that?

• 1:02:50Speaker 05

I told you I've been saving up for it though.

• 1:02:53Caleb Hammer?

and it was pre-planned it was

• 1:04:11Caleb Hammer?

how much did you spend on that occasion he essentially essentially you know what he did he spent money so that you could spend more money it's one of the gifts that makes you spend more money it happens

• 1:04:23Speaker 05

  well

• 1:04:23Caleb Hammer?

for our boy Jake back there for his birthday you know the boys came together we gave him a gift card to build a new fish tank but honestly that just means he's gonna spend more money

• 1:04:32Speaker 05

  well I guess

• 1:04:32Caleb Hammer?

so this is what happens if he pays for your vacation but you're gonna go spend money on food

• 1:04:39Speaker 05

it was the first of all it was the Ruby

• 1:04:40Caleb Hammer?

  how much did you spend

• 1:04:42Speaker 05

it wasn't much honestly because I actually went to

• 1:04:44Caleb Hammer?

  you wouldn't know

• 1:04:45Speaker 05

I went to Publix and I bought I bought some of the stuff that we like you know stuff to eat and like little snacky stuff so I wasn't going

• 1:04:51Caleb Hammer?

you spent forty dollars at Publix

• 1:04:53Speaker 05

yeah that was like a week's worth of little snackies

• 1:04:55Caleb Hammer?

yes and then you went out to eat a lot of times and you go inside the gas station and get some bullshit then what are you stopping a Speedway for and getting for two dollars and fifty cents shut the up then okay lady shut up

• 1:05:11Speaker 05

  sometimes when I'm so sleepy

• 1:05:13Caleb Hammer?

oh my gosh I hate you okay um twenty eight percent interest

• 1:05:18Caleb Hammer?

I wonder he chose the other woman to have the child with

• 1:05:22Speaker 05

that cut a little bit deep

• 1:05:23Caleb Hammer?

maybe you should cut up your credit cards instead

• 1:05:25Speaker 05

  instead of what

• 1:05:26Caleb Hammer?

said that cuts deep cut up your credit cards change your life take control for the first time act like an adult for the first time in your life

• 1:05:34Speaker 05

no I I am I think like very mature and very um

• 1:05:38Caleb Hammer?

  that's a good joke

• 1:05:42Speaker 05

for twenty seven I feel like I'm

• 1:05:43Caleb Hammer?

fuck you twenty seven you're gonna borrow against half your 401k you're not making your minimum monthly payment on one of your two credit cards and then on the other credit card the balance is going up because you're spending it on bullshit shut the up you don't know what you're talking about okay

• 1:06:00Caleb Hammer?

Okay, maybe even more resources. Maybe get an accounting certification through Course Careers. Take that so you can learn how to account your own. Use the FIS card because it only allows you to spend what's in your checking account. So you're not being a dumb. And sit down with the financial advisor that I. Shut the up. Sit down with the financial advisor that I use at Domain Money. You get a free session, just like everyone else in the audience. You get a free session with them, okay? Go through those. Use our damn resources.

• 1:06:31Speaker 05

But I will say with the credit cards, I was doing really good when I first got the credit.

• 1:06:36Caleb Hammer?

I don't give a because you're not now. That means nothing.

• 1:06:39Speaker 05

But I mean, I built my credit up to like 700.

• 1:06:41Caleb Hammer?

And now it's 520 or whatever. So I don't give a. Like, why are you jerking yourself off over your past? Your past doesn't matter. What you're doing is now. I've done a ton in the past. I don't shame myself for that. I focus on now and what to do in the future. You don't get to get all excited.

• 1:06:57Speaker 05

I know how to use credit cards. I know how to use.

• 1:07:00Caleb Hammer?

Then why aren't you doing them? How about that?

• 1:07:02Speaker 05

I just got in like a really bad.

• 1:07:04Caleb Hammer?

Yes, a long time ago now. So why haven't you fixed it? You're not making a minimum payment on one or two of them. So what the are you talking about? You're bullshitting me.

• 1:07:12Speaker 05

Well, I didn't. And now this is for real, for real, right? I wasn't necessarily like educated on how to pay them off. So I had all three. I had three credit cards, right? And they were all pretty high. So instead of like paying one of them off completely or like the highest like interest or something like that, I just put money across the board. And then after I did that, I realized like that probably wasn't the best decision. I probably should have.

• 1:07:36Caleb Hammer?

Is there any reason you didn't Google how to pay off debt?

• 1:07:41Speaker 05

  I just didn't.

• 1:07:41Caleb Hammer?

Exactly. This is so simple, guys. You can literally look this stuff up. Really, you know, the the interesting.

• 1:07:47Speaker 05

  I just never.

• 1:07:48Caleb Hammer?

You know, the interesting thing, this show should not exist. Even our classes shouldn't exist. The thing is, everything you can just figure out, but no one's able to. So we have to put it in. We have to put in the work and package it. Into consumable areas, into the show, into the education.

• 1:08:05Speaker 05

It's not something I thought about Googling.

• 1:08:06Caleb Hammer?

I know, but you were thinking about it because you were doing actionable steps of putting money towards your debt. You could have Googled it for three seconds.

• 1:08:14Speaker 05

I was trying to pay them all off, but that.

• 1:08:16Caleb Hammer?

  Here's your 401k loan, $8,000. Great.

• 1:08:22Caleb Hammer?

What are you invested in? What's your 401k invested in across the board?

• 1:08:27Speaker 05

Uh, it's Merrill Merrill Lynch. I don't know what specifically. SRP.

• 1:08:33Caleb Hammer?

No, like what's the fund that you selected to be in?

• 1:08:37Speaker 05

Merrill Lynch? I don't know what you're asking me. Said and Southern.

• 1:08:41Caleb Hammer?

That's likely the manager of your account.

• 1:08:43Speaker 05

  Simple Bot, might be.

• 1:08:44Caleb Hammer?

  Yes, in there.

• 1:08:46Speaker 05

  Yeah.

• 1:08:47Caleb Hammer?

Are you in the S and P 500? Are you in a target date retirement? What might you be in?

• 1:08:55Speaker 05

I'm really not sure. I think it's the... Listen, I just contribute. Okay, I know that's good for me.

• 1:09:02Caleb Hammer?

But if you're contributing and it's not doing anything beneficial, then what's the point of contributing?

• 1:09:05Speaker 05

Well, obviously it is, because it's grown so much, right? But so I never really just like investigated.

• 1:09:09Caleb Hammer?

So maybe it's following the general market. Maybe you're in a target date retirement fund, since you're younger, it's a bit more on the aggressive side.

• 1:09:15Speaker 05

  Yeah.

• 1:09:16Caleb Hammer?

Okay, Jake, look deeper into the documents and it looks like it's a target date. Okay.

• 1:09:22Caleb Hammer?

Just a normal person, it can kind of make sense. It goes a little too heavy on the bonds for my taste later on, but you know, for just someone who doesn't want to think about it, it's certainly not a bad thing. Checking it out. Okay. Basically, the money that went in went out, so great.

• 1:09:41Caleb Hammer?

Okay, well, we're blocking out the store name, but every single one of these is a [bleep] store. What are you doing at your work? $2.76 at your work, $1.10. At your work, $8. At your work, uh, well, no, then he went to Wendy's. And then at your work, $2.26, then $2.62. Taco Bell. Then at your work, you did $2.86. At your work, $3.29. At your work, $4.63. You're obsessed! You're out there, you're walking down every aisle and shoving everything in your throat!

• 1:10:12Speaker 05

  No, not at all.

• 1:10:13Caleb Hammer?

What are you doing then? Because this is, they're supposed to be paying you, not you paying them!

• 1:10:18Speaker 05

It's just like, when you're right there, right? And like, everything...

• 1:10:22Caleb Hammer?

  When you're what there?

• 1:10:24Speaker 05

  When you're right there.

• 1:10:25Caleb Hammer?

  At there, okay.

• 1:10:27Speaker 05

  Right there, right.

• 1:10:29Caleb Hammer?

  Oh, when you're right there.

• 1:10:30Speaker 05

  Yeah.

• 1:10:31Caleb Hammer?

  Oh, for f***ing sake, lady.

• 1:10:32Speaker 05

At the store and like, I mean, obviously you can get whatever you want. There, they have everything there. And like, I always need a Red Bull just to like, cause it's a lot. It's a lot.

• 1:10:42Caleb Hammer?

Why are you buying any of those f***ing Red Bulls? Go to a place where you can buy in bulk. Even at the store you work at, buy in bulk and put it in like the employee refrigerator.

• 1:10:52Speaker 05

I try not to drink Red Bull because it's really bad.

• 1:10:55Caleb Hammer?

Yet you purchase it every day at work. So this trying has failed. So just either quit or do it smart.

• 1:11:01Speaker 05

Well, I quit for a while, you know, like a long, a long time I quit drinking Red Bull because it's not good for you and I don't agree with drinking Red Bull.

• 1:11:07Caleb Hammer?

What on this statement is a Red Bull purchase every other day?

• 1:11:10Speaker 05

But when you're there and like you're tired and like.

• 1:11:13Caleb Hammer?

So do it smart. If you're there, you can purchase a pack from the aisle.

• 1:11:18Speaker 05

  Yeah. I mean, I, yes.

• 1:11:20Caleb Hammer?

And then that gives you at least four for a more affordable per ounce price.

• 1:11:24Speaker 05

Trying not to drink them. Like, why would you go buy a whole pack?

• 1:11:26Caleb Hammer?

Oh, cause obviously this is not working. You just have to, you have to pick the smart choice because you're not resisting. You're not resisting.

• 1:11:34Speaker 05

  But I'm trying.

• 1:11:35Caleb Hammer?

You can't resist Red Bulls. You can't resist gray hair on men. You, you, this is, you have to make the right choice. Need to move on from him and, and move on from Red Bull. Or if you can't move on from Red Bull, you need.

• 1:11:48Speaker 05

So are you saying if I can't move on from him, I shouldn't?

• 1:11:51Caleb Hammer?

Huh? No, you should talk to a f***ing therapist about that. This is every second of your life. And also some of them are more, they're never the same price. So you're getting more than just a Red Bull. You're getting a snack and stuff too sometimes. Or you're doubling up that bowl.

• 1:12:05Speaker 05

It's the small ones and then it's the bigger ones.

• 1:12:07Caleb Hammer?

So it just depends on the day?

• 1:12:09Speaker 05

Yeah, if it's a bad day, we gotta.

• 1:12:11Caleb Hammer?

Still literally not one of them were the same price. Like there's, it's always different. It is always different. There is not one that was the same price.

• 1:12:17Speaker 05

  Are you sure?

• 1:12:18Caleb Hammer?

Yes, I have the numbers in front of my eyeballs.

• 1:12:22Speaker 05

It might be like a little a snack with it.

• 1:12:24Caleb Hammer?

As in the thing I just suggested thirty seconds ago, but you couldn't comprehend?

• 1:12:34Speaker 06

We don't need the jingle twice. Stop it. This is about vacation inflation and how Priceline negotiates amazing deals on hotels, flights, and rental cars.

• 1:12:45Speaker 06

Yeah, but I didn't mention that you can save up to 60% off hotels in the Priceline app.

• 1:12:51Speaker 06

Fine. No one deals more deals than. Please stop. Touche.

• 1:12:58Speaker 06

  Priceline.

• 1:12:59Speaker 05

  Maybe.

• 1:13:00Caleb Hammer?

  My gosh.

• 1:13:01Speaker 05

But normally it's just the Red Bull.

• 1:13:03Caleb Hammer?

Oh, by the way, fun fact, I forgot to even mention it. On the credit card that you were at least making the payment on, you have missed like eight payments this year so far, late. So is that even like you pay those payments on time anyway, normally?

• 1:13:16Speaker 05

But that was back when, that was before I got my raise and I really was having a hard time.

• 1:13:21Caleb Hammer?

What was your income again, before the raise?

• 1:13:23Speaker 05

So it was 16 every month. No, every, every bi-weekly, it was 1600.

• 1:13:31Speaker 05

  Yeah, it was 16 bi-weekly.

• 1:13:33Caleb Hammer?

Okay, yeah, you got a $500 raise. That's great on a monthly basis, $500 a month, net. I mean, no, no, good raise for sure. Should not make or break your entire life with the price of your mortgage. That does not make sense. That does not make sense. You spend ridiculously.

• 1:13:48Speaker 05

  I was.

• 1:13:48Caleb Hammer?

  You spend ridiculously.

• 1:13:50Speaker 05

Cause I didn't have enough money.

• 1:13:52Caleb Hammer?

Cause you spend ridiculously, lady, if you don't fix your habits.

• 1:14:00Caleb Hammer?

There you go. Purchasing from your store, $5.97. Purchasing from your store, $2.29. Purchasing from your store, $4.28. Purchasing from your store, $11.51. Purchasing from your store, $8.90. Speedway, you went in and got another monster. Purchasing from your store, $3.22. Purchasing from your store, $4.11. Purchasing from your store, $4.24. Purchasing from your store, $7.25. • 1:14:44Caleb Hammer?

of twenty five dollars Speedway went in got that coffee purchasing from your store a dollar ninety five purchasing from your store five dollars nine cents purchasing from your store five dollars thirty five cents Sonic Drive-In purchasing from your store two dollars seventy six cents purchasing from your store two dollars seventy six cents there you go that's the same price purchasing your four from your store eight dollars eighteen cents Speedway went and got a coffee coffee Jack

• 1:15:14Caleb Hammer?

some restaurant purchasing from your store six dollars twelve cents uh or actually sorry that one's two dollars seventy six cents then oh there's Marshalls that's not TJ Maxx and seventeen dollars and fifty six cents where are the TJ Maxx's you keep talking about TJ I didn't see TJ yet purchasing your from your store three dollars twenty two cents what the

• 1:15:35Speaker 05

  like I just don't realize

• 1:15:37Caleb Hammer?

and then Happy Hollow twenty dollars

• 1:15:40Speaker 05

  Happy Hollow

• 1:15:41Caleb Hammer?

  surprise there's no overdraft fees

• 1:15:44Speaker 05

  I don't I

• 1:15:45Caleb Hammer?

but you do have monthly fees because you don't have enough money in there so you're giving your bank five dollars just to

• 1:15:53Caleb Hammer?

like that's a joke that's a joke do you have any other debts that I don't know about any family debts any friend debts

• 1:15:58Speaker 05

  no nothing like that

• 1:15:59Caleb Hammer?

  I'm surprised

• 1:16:01Speaker 05

  I just don't

• 1:16:02Caleb Hammer?

and what's up with your dad

• 1:16:03Speaker 05

  my dad

• 1:16:07Speaker 05

  nothing nothing

• 1:16:10Caleb Hammer?

just just not with your mom

• 1:16:11Speaker 05

oh yeah no they're just not together

• 1:16:13Caleb Hammer?

  okay

• 1:16:14Speaker 05

yeah they're just not together so

• 1:16:16Caleb Hammer?

I feel like if you have a lot of room left in your budget after I make you a budget I'm gonna be pissed

• 1:16:22Speaker 05

like I really think that you will see

• 1:16:29Caleb Hammer?

three thousand seven hundred eight dollars what comes in debt minimum payments a hundred eighty six bucks have wait sorry Five eighty-three, probably. You know what, let's say that minimum monthly payment on that other one that you said is more is two hundred. Okay, two hundred. Okay, minimum monthly payment, six eighty-three. Mortgage?

• 1:16:51Speaker 05

  Mortgage is fourteen ninety-eight.

• 1:16:53Caleb Hammer?

  What's your interest rate?

• 1:16:54Speaker 05

  I, no.

• 1:16:57Speaker 05

  It's eight percent.

• 1:16:58Caleb Hammer?

  On your mortgage?

• 1:16:59Speaker 05

  Yeah.

• 1:17:00Caleb Hammer?

  When'd you get your house?

• 1:17:01Speaker 05

  Twenty twenty-two.

• 1:17:03Caleb Hammer?

You're raising rates in twenty-three. Why, why is it so bad?

• 1:17:09Caleb Hammer?

Did they start raising at the end of twenty twenty-two? When, when in twenty twenty-two?

• 1:17:13Speaker 05

It was the beginning, so it was.

• 1:17:15Caleb Hammer?

Why is your rate so bad?

• 1:17:17Speaker 05

Actually purchased it in February of twenty twenty-two, so.

• 1:17:21Caleb Hammer?

Okay, water, gas, electric? Average it out.

• 1:17:25Speaker 05

Average for electric, I would say is like two fifty. Summer months, it's more expensive, but.

• 1:17:31Caleb Hammer?

  Keep going, gas?

• 1:17:32Speaker 05

And then, um, gas, water is like seventy-five.

• 1:17:36Caleb Hammer?

  Combined?

• 1:17:37Speaker 05

  Yes, it's combined.

• 1:17:38Caleb Hammer?

  Okay. Internet?

• 1:17:41Speaker 05

Uh, my mother pays for that, so nada.

• 1:17:44Caleb Hammer?

  Phone bill?

• 1:17:45Speaker 05

  Um, that is one eighty-six.

• 1:17:48Caleb Hammer?

  You own your phone?

• 1:17:49Speaker 05

Well, my mom's phone is on there also, and I own hers and mine, so.

• 1:17:53Caleb Hammer?

  Oh, on both?

• 1:17:54Speaker 05

  Yeah.

• 1:17:55Caleb Hammer?

Oh, for f*** sake. Can't even get you to switch to helium for fifteen bucks a month.

• 1:17:59Speaker 05

I gotta take care of my mommy.

• 1:18:01Caleb Hammer?

Well, yeah, but you can own the phones outright, and then you can both be on helium, fifteen bucks each.

• 1:18:06Speaker 05

  I'm paying them off.

• 1:18:06Caleb Hammer?

  T-Mobile service.

• 1:18:07Speaker 05

  Yeah.

• 1:18:09Caleb Hammer?

Okay. Gas, room, room, drive, drive, on a monthly basis.

• 1:18:13Speaker 05

Very expensive, so, like, my, I live.

• 1:18:16Caleb Hammer?

  Yeah, a number.

• 1:18:17Speaker 05

I live probably sixty miles away from work, so I would say on average a month, it's around three to four hundred dollars.

• 1:18:24Caleb Hammer?

  Four hundred. Car insurance?

• 1:18:27Speaker 05

  Car insurance is three eighty.

• 1:18:30Caleb Hammer?

TP fund, anything else you need to survive, one hundred, your mom's social security can cover her TP fund. You don't pay for groceries, nor do you need to, because she does. Medical healthcare. Anything ongoing?

• 1:18:42Caleb Hammer?

You have any pets? You have a dog?

• 1:18:43Speaker 05

  I've got a dog.

• 1:18:44Caleb Hammer?

  How much for pet food?

• 1:18:45Speaker 05

And then I have my little piggy.

• 1:18:46Caleb Hammer?

  How much? Huh?

• 1:18:47Speaker 05

  My little piggy.

• 1:18:49Caleb Hammer?

  Pig?

• 1:18:50Speaker 05

  My pig. My pig.

• 1:18:52Caleb Hammer?

How much for pet food on a monthly basis?

• 1:18:54Speaker 05

Probably around, I'm gonna say seventy, cuz his food's a little bit more expensive. He eats a lot.

• 1:18:59Caleb Hammer?

Okay, do you have pet insurance on the dog at least? I don't know if pigs can get it.

• 1:19:03Speaker 05

I don't think pigs can get it.

• 1:19:04Caleb Hammer?

Okay, get pet insurance or else you're being a selfish pet owner. I'm gonna call that forty bucks a month. So no medical healthcare? Gym?

• 1:19:14Speaker 05

Yes, um, thirty dollars. It's like twenty-eight.

• 1:19:18Caleb Hammer?

Twenty-eight then. Anything else that needs to be in your budget that I have not taken account for?

• 1:19:23Speaker 05

  Um, I've got a Spotify.

• 1:19:25Caleb Hammer?

  No you don't.

• 1:19:26Speaker 05

Yes, I do. How about the Spotify?

• 1:19:28Caleb Hammer?

Well, we put in things like that after the fact. This is your needs. Come on.

• 1:19:32Speaker 05

Well, I cut off all of my subscriptions when I moved into the house cuz I couldn't pay for them, except for Spotify, because like I drive such a long way to work every day.

• 1:19:40Caleb Hammer?

Let's see if we can fit it in.

• 1:19:41Speaker 05

I feel like I need it.

• 1:19:42Caleb Hammer?

I'm not against fitting it in.

• 1:19:43Speaker 05

It's like the only thing I have.

• 1:19:44Caleb Hammer?

  You can't fit it in.

• 1:19:45Speaker 05

  Can't?

• 1:19:46Caleb Hammer?

Nope, you are under by two dollars. I mean, literally, if you can't afford it. I mean, this is because your debt minimums payments, you've allowed yourself to go up and you got a mortgage that honestly you couldn't afford. Then you financed phones you shouldn't have. Again, we get rid of the financing of the phones. You get rid of some of the minimum debt payments, even just one of them. All of a sudden, you are able to not only break even but start making progress. Cut the gym, unfortunately. You have to go on walks around the neighborhood.

• 1:20:14Speaker 05

I'm chunky. I need the gym.

• 1:20:16Caleb Hammer?

I, listen, we both do. Great. Listen, you're literally under by two dollars, so debt only goes up. Gym, gym is, gym is-

• 1:20:24Speaker 05

You have to actually go into the branch and cancel the membership.

• 1:20:26Caleb Hammer?

For a second, gym is great. Yes, you do a little effort. Gym is great. You're just gonna be focusing on home stuff for a bit. And walking and jogging and stuff like that, just until you have, you know, we have to cut everywhere we can.

• 1:20:39Speaker 05

  Yeah.

• 1:20:40Caleb Hammer?

And I'd rather you have pet insurance than a gym.

• 1:20:45Caleb Hammer?

Why'd you buy so far away from your work?

• 1:20:48Speaker 05

  Well.

• 1:20:49Caleb Hammer?

Can you transfer to one closer?

• 1:20:50Speaker 05

  No.

• 1:20:51Caleb Hammer?

  Why?

• 1:20:52Speaker 05

  I just can't. There's no, there's, there hasn't been no openings. I mean, there.

• 1:20:56Caleb Hammer?

  If there is, take it.

• 1:20:57Speaker 05

But not right now. There's not any.

• 1:20:59Caleb Hammer?

But if there is, you'll take it?

• 1:21:01Speaker 05

  I'll try. I would try.

• 1:21:02Caleb Hammer?

Cause if you, if gas can go from 400 to 200, boom, we start making moves.

• 1:21:06Speaker 05

Yeah. Much easier. But that's why I'm saying, like, if I take out a 401k loan, and I know this sounds crazy.

• 1:21:13Caleb Hammer?

  No.

• 1:21:13Speaker 05

But sometimes it's not always like black and white, you know?

• 1:21:17Caleb Hammer?

No, it's not black and white.

• 1:21:18Speaker 05

If I take out the 401k loan and I pay off my car and all those credit cards, then it cuts that minimum monthly payment.

• 1:21:24Caleb Hammer?

Cause that doesn't make sense for you because your behavior got you here. Your 401k loan is a shortcut. A shortcut then is not good because it's also tightening up your retirement and also it's gonna be at like 13, 14%. Is that better than some of the credit cards? Sure. It's not better than your car. Either way, either way, here's the thing.

• 1:21:41Caleb Hammer?

You're not changing your behavior. You didn't work to get out of debt.

• 1:21:44Speaker 05

  Well, I wasn't.

• 1:21:45Caleb Hammer?

Shut up for a second! If you didn't change your behavior, your debt will go back up. It's happened a thousand times on this show. A consolidation loan, a personal loan, a credit card transfer, or 401k loan, just to pay off a debt, your credit cards go back up again. That's what will happen. I would rather you work to get out of debt because it's more sustainable. I'm not against personal loans or consolidations or debt forgiveness programs. I'm not against any of that. But you have to change your behavior as you're doing it. If you don't change your behavior, you're gonna end up in debt again. You're on track for being close to the right retirement for your age. That $8,000 is denting against it already.

• 1:22:25Caleb Hammer?

But you're relatively almost on track. You're gonna start [__] yourself. Here's the actual solution for you that I would personally do. Me?

• 1:22:37Caleb Hammer?

You said your schedule is unpredictable. So does that mean the day is unpredictable?

• 1:22:41Speaker 05

Yes, so like I don't have the same days off and then I don't work the same hours. And then because I'm salary, like if there's a need to stay over, then you stay over. And if there's a need to come in early, you come in early.

• 1:22:51Caleb Hammer?

I want you to get a part-time job, but I don't know how.

• 1:22:54Speaker 05

Yeah, with that schedule, that's why I was doing the DoorDash because it's like that's reasonable.

• 1:22:59Caleb Hammer?

How was your DoorDash earnings versus gas and?

• 1:23:02Speaker 05

  It wasn't good.

• 1:23:03Caleb Hammer?

Yeah, I wouldn't think so, especially in a town like that.

• 1:23:05Speaker 05

Yeah, like the, there was no tips. So I was making just what you make from like the actual DoorDash.

• 1:23:12Caleb Hammer?

Yeah, the only tip you're getting is gray hair, forty-year-old.

• 1:23:16Caleb Hammer?

Listen, you're breaking even by at least cutting the gym.

• 1:23:19Speaker 05

  Yeah.

• 1:23:20Caleb Hammer?

Phone bill, you shouldn't have done that. You really shouldn't have done that. That really fucks it off. Utilities, you're gonna have room some months, some room you're gonna be over. Mortgage you can't afford. You bought your house in twenty twenty-three?

• 1:23:33Speaker 05

  Two.

• 1:23:34Caleb Hammer?

  Two? What's the remaining mortgage?

• 1:23:37Speaker 05

So I've got one seventy-six left on it. And I purchased it for two hundred.

• 1:23:42Caleb Hammer?

  Taking your address.

• 1:23:43Speaker 05

  Fancy little computer. It's touchscreen.

• 1:23:45Caleb Hammer?

  It's an iPad.

• 1:23:46Speaker 05

  I like that.

• 1:23:47Caleb Hammer?

  Listen.

• 1:23:48Speaker 05

I've got two acres of land too. I feel like I did well for myself, honestly.

• 1:23:54Caleb Hammer?

Pig ruins the solution. This solution. I'm not against the pig thing. I love it, actually.

• 1:24:00Speaker 05

You need to same. He's the cutest little baby. He knows how to stand.

• 1:24:04Caleb Hammer?

  For a second.

• 1:24:06Speaker 05

Well, I was thinking about getting rid of him. I was because he keeps getting out of my pants. And I'm afraid somebody's gonna like either shoot him because.

• 1:24:13Caleb Hammer?

  Someone will adopt them?

• 1:24:16Speaker 05

I don't think so. Like where I work, there's a bunch of Amish people, like it's an Amish community. And I thought about maybe some, but I think.

• 1:24:23Caleb Hammer?

  He'll be eaten.

• 1:24:23Speaker 05

Yeah, they'll eat him, I think.

• 1:24:25Caleb Hammer?

You're okay with your pet being eaten?

• 1:24:26Speaker 05

No, that's what I'm saying. Like.

• 1:24:27Caleb Hammer?

So you're not getting rid of them?

• 1:24:28Speaker 05

No, not to the Amish. Well, it was like an option. It was a thought and then like I was kinda talking about it.

• 1:24:35Caleb Hammer?

  Lady, listen.

• 1:24:36Speaker 05

They're gonna eat him. I said, oh my god, my piggy.

• 1:24:39Caleb Hammer?

I think you, I think the best solution is actually selling your house. And moving to a rented place, but with the pig you can't. No one's gonna like that.

• 1:24:48Speaker 05

And I have, um, my dog.

• 1:24:50Caleb Hammer?

  Yeah, you can do that.

• 1:24:52Speaker 05

  My beagle.

• 1:24:53Caleb Hammer?

You can do that. The dog's fine. There's a few, there's some landlords that will say no, but there will.

• 1:25:02Caleb Hammer?

I think cuz you haven't, you definitely have an equity position. I'm guessing you'd walk away with at least forty thousand dollars. I'm guessing the Zestim's over by like twenty thousand dollars or something. You probably could walk away with like forty thousand dollars. I'm not, I don't necessarily want you to wipe it. Maybe we wipe the car with that, then we pay off the credit cards via behavior. That's what I want to do. And then you stuff the rest aside for a down payment on a home again in the future, but you just simply won. The mortgage is pretty unaffordable to you. You're again, you're just behind on your stuff.

• 1:25:34Speaker 05

If I didn't have the minimum monthly payments, I feel like I would be okay.

• 1:25:39Caleb Hammer?

  No shit.

• 1:25:41Speaker 05

So like that's what, that's what I'm trying to figure out.

• 1:25:44Caleb Hammer?

  You should host the show.

• 1:25:45Speaker 05

Is like the best way to get rid of these. Because that's really what holds me back is like the minimum monthly payments and then.

• 1:25:51Caleb Hammer?

What would your minimum monthly payment be on this 401k loan?

• 1:25:54Speaker 05

If I took the loan out?

• 1:25:57Speaker 05

It would stay the same. It would be like a hundred dollars.

• 1:26:00Caleb Hammer?

A part of me, I, I don't like this cuz it vibes with my. Huh?

• 1:26:03Speaker 05

  You agree with me?

• 1:26:04Caleb Hammer?

No, a part of me is my morals don't vibe with this cuz I believe if you borrow, pay it off. But I almost let the other one, the credit cards go to collections at this point cuz your credit score's already ruined. So it's just like, and then you just, you hope they don't legally go after you, which they could. I mean, that nine thousand dollar balance on one of them is pretty big, so they could go after you.

• 1:26:25Speaker 05

Yeah, I don't want that to happen.

• 1:26:26Caleb Hammer?

It might be worth it in the legal process.

• 1:26:27Speaker 05

I really don't wanna do that.

• 1:26:28Caleb Hammer?

  I know, so it's definitely a risk.

• 1:26:31Speaker 05

  Yeah.

• 1:26:32Caleb Hammer?

Maybe one of the debt programs where they, you go into the debt program and then they negotiate it. It's really difficult. You're on that edge, there's really nothing to cut, and I don't know how to get you a part-time job. Cuz your schedule is so weird. I think you need to move closer to you as soon as you can, or you need to sell the house. Don't know what you do with the pig. You need to cut expenses anywhere and everywhere you can. This is already without food. I don't know.

• 1:26:58Speaker 05

  So I'm starving.

• 1:26:58Caleb Hammer?

Maybe trade down our phones a little?

• 1:27:00Speaker 05

And I'm not going to the gym.

• 1:27:02Caleb Hammer?

Maybe we're trading down our phones a little? I'm not starving, you're not going out to eat. You said your mom buys the groceries.

• 1:27:08Speaker 05

She does. That helps out a lot.

• 1:27:13Caleb Hammer?

Then you start cracking at these debts, one by one. And you'll get there. Just go smallest to the largest.

• 1:27:19Speaker 05

I'm making the monthly, the minimum monthly payments on the savior. It's just the bread.

• 1:27:24Caleb Hammer?

You missed, you missed five this year.

• 1:27:26Speaker 05

  Well, it was when.

• 1:27:27Caleb Hammer?

  So shut up.

• 1:27:28Speaker 05

It was before I got that extra five hundred.

• 1:27:29Caleb Hammer?

I don't care. You still missed five this year, so don't say I'm making them. Buddy, there's not, you missed almost half of them this year.

• 1:27:37Speaker 05

But when, when I got my raise, that's what I paid towards.

• 1:27:39Caleb Hammer?

I get it, but your spending likely increases as well, because look, we have your spending. I don't know, there's some potential solutions. This one's gonna be hard. Why don't you sit down with the financial advisor, see if they have any extra thoughts of the, you know, this is a live thing that we're doing right now. Maybe something's not popping in my head that, you know, I could be thinking about. Um, so may, sit down with those financial advisors that don't make money. They, they might be able to help. Either way, I'm gonna call the dude on my number in the post show. We're gonna have that crazy conversation, so make sure you guys join our YouTube membership. I recommend Elite for thousands of hours of extra content, exclusive audits, a call-in show where you can talk to us. A lot of other things. And live streams as well. Let's get your hammer for an initial score. Spending a budget, overspent, debt.

• 1:28:24Caleb Hammer?

No collections, but 401K loan. Is really bad. And not paying on it, I can't give you better than a one out of 10 emergency fund, didn't have any savings, zero out of 10 retirement, it's relatively good. I'm close to giving you, like.

• 1:28:38Caleb Hammer?

You know, it would have been damn like eight, nine, but you take it for.

• 1:28:41Speaker 05

On the financial score? I don't know.

• 1:28:44Caleb Hammer?

For, on the fucking retirement part. But your 401K is definitely bringing it down to at least the five out of 10. Real estate, you do own a home. The mortgage is too expensive, the interest rate is not good. That's honestly probably what's fucking you. Maybe refinancing it at a lower rate. Well, they say that it mathematically justifies if you can get save 2%. This next rate cut, see where mortgage rates are about a month after that? If you can get under 6%, refinancing your home. You have a shit score, your debt income's horrible, you're not gonna be able to refinance. Not for anything worth it. Real estate, because of those qualities going against you, I'm also gonna give it a five out of 10. Because it's a risky situation.

• 1:29:27Caleb Hammer?

• 1:29:43Speaker 05

  I don't know, it's hard to say, I do.

• 1:29:45Caleb Hammer?

  That's emotional cheating, call him.

• 1:29:47Speaker 05

He didn't want me to come on the show.

• 1:29:48Caleb Hammer?

He's a bad person. Oh, yeah.

• 1:29:51Speaker 05

  I'm getting nervous.

• 1:29:52Caleb Hammer?

Listen, he was a dick, so we can [BLEEP] him over, alright?

• 1:29:57Caleb Hammer?

  Hi.
