What up everybody, welcome to the Smoking Tire Podcast. Today's episode is brought to you by Off the Record. We love Off the Record here, and you guys do too, based on the number of emails you send me about Off the Record saving you from getting points on your license from a pesky little moving violation. You see, if you get points on your license, you can be at risk for insurance premium increases, possibly employment issues if you have to have a clean driving record for your job, and more, not to mention the fines and all the other inconveniences. That's why Off the Record is here. If you get pulled over for any kind of moving violation, big or small, in any state in the US, don't plead guilty, get off the record.

• 0:45Matt Farah?

They will connect you to a qualified attorney in the jurisdiction where you got pulled over, and they will fight that ticket all the way as far as they can take it, and then, most of the time, it goes away. It's great, they get those points off your record. They have an amazing track record. Go to offtherecord.com/tst. That's offtherecord.com/tst for 10% off all legal services booked through Off the Record. One more time, that's offtherecord.com/tst. Alright folks, on the show today, Abbas Wahab is back in studio.

• 2:27Speaker 01

No, it might be before my time.

• 2:28Matt Farah?

Oh, no, it definitely was before your fucking time. But it's you could, but it's your kind of show.

• 2:34Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 2:34Matt Farah?

  It's about two.

• 2:35Speaker 01

  It's car stuff?

• 2:36Matt Farah?

No, yeah, it's about two California Highway Patrol motorcycle officers.

• 2:40Speaker 01

  Love it.

• 2:41Matt Farah?

  And it's like action comedy.

• 2:42Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 2:43Matt Farah?

Um, and it wa- it was in the seventies and eighties, like, and it wasn't, it was a comedy TV show. But Dax, uh, Dax's version, oh, wait, uh, yeah, whatever, you got it.

• 2:55Matt Farah?

Dax's, uh, Dax remade it as a movie with, um, oh, what the fuck is the, who's the dude's name?

• 3:01Speaker 02

  Michael Pena.

• 3:02Matt Farah?

  Michael Pena.

• 3:02Speaker 01

  Oh, yeah.

• 3:03Matt Farah?

And, and, and they really, it's a, it's a buddy comedy, but he really, he directed it.

• 3:08Speaker 01

Oh, shit. I missed this entirely.

• 3:11Matt Farah?

So Dax also directed a movie called Hit and Run before that.

• 3:15Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 3:15Matt Farah?

Which like was a little bit of a hokey movie.

• 3:17Speaker 01

  It was mid two thousands?

• 3:18Matt Farah?

  Yeah, yeah, yeah.

• 3:19Speaker 01

Yeah, I think I saw that.

• 3:19Matt Farah?

But he just wanted to do all his own stunt driving. And there's like six car chases in this movie.

• 3:24Speaker 01

  That's hilarious.

• 3:25Matt Farah?

Very little happens in the movie, but like a bunch of car chases.

• 3:28Speaker 01

He's like Tarantino writing in all his own foot stuff.

• 3:30Speaker 02

He wrote in all his own stunts, yeah.

• 3:31Matt Farah?

And he also, when he did Chips, it was the same thing. And so like, it, it's like, it's got enormous cred.

• 3:37Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 3:38Matt Farah?

For me as like a gearhead movie.

• 3:40Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 3:40Matt Farah?

Because the car shit's all really accurate, the filming of.

• 3:43Speaker 01

  He's doing all the driving.

• 3:44Matt Farah?

He's doing all his own stunts and his own driving. And I was like, he's like, uh, like a redneck Tom Cruise in that way. Yeah.

• 3:50Speaker 01

He's like doing unnecessary stunts and stuff.

• 3:52Matt Farah?

  Right.

• 3:52Speaker 01

They're like, hey, when we got a big chase coming up, you could probably just drive in this scene.

• 3:56Matt Farah?

He's like, what if he drifts in?

• 3:57Speaker 02

Well, cause Chips, the show, it would be like, it was two motorcycle cops and the big stunt would be like, they went around a balloon that had fallen in an alley. And it was like, they went around a car and he.

• 4:06Matt Farah?

  He had seen Jim Kana.

• 4:08Speaker 02

They're like, they're like, they're like, he's riding downstairs and stuff. He's like, what if we, you know, level this up for 2020, post Travis Pastrana era?

• 4:15Matt Farah?

And he came on our podcast to talk about it and like other, you know, whatever, The View are asking him, you know, about what it's like with Michael Pena. And we're like, the shot where you, the mounted shot where you had it on the arm and he's like.

• 4:26Speaker 01

  Was it all like GoPro?

• 4:27Matt Farah?

He's like, you guys know this shit. It's fun. And then he had his own podcast suspiciously soon after that.

• 4:32Speaker 01

That's, he had a great time.

• 4:34Speaker 02

  Yeah, he's great. He's a good guy.

• 4:35Speaker 01

Like dude, you're a natural. You said that Rogan thing, you're a natural, you gotta start doing this.

• 4:39Matt Farah?

  Make a living doing this.

• 4:41Speaker 02

And he sold it for like a hundred million dollars.

• 4:42Speaker 01

  Did he sell it?

• 4:44Speaker 02

  Yeah, to Spotify.

• 4:46Speaker 01

And he's still on, oh, he.

• 4:47Speaker 02

Well, you know, like, sold it, but then you probably have an agreement to be on it.

• 4:50Speaker 01

  Dax or Rogan?

• 4:50Speaker 02

  Oh, sorry, Dax.

• 4:51Speaker 01

Dax. Oh, so he did that thing too.

• 4:53Matt Farah?

  He did the that thing.

• 4:54Speaker 02

  Gotcha.

• 4:54Matt Farah?

  Oh, man, I.

• 4:55Speaker 01

You have some big money out here, boys.

• 4:57Matt Farah?

Well, I, the most depressing one, I, not that I don't think, you know, those guys with huge numbers shouldn't be worth some huge amount of money.

• 5:05Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 5:05Matt Farah?

I met a dude who was a nice enough dude, whose name I'm not gonna use, but he was a nice enough dude.

• 5:11Speaker 01

  Can we connect the dots?

• 5:12Matt Farah?

He had a podcast. You'll know, I mean, if you might not, because I don't think this is.

• 5:16Speaker 02

Bo Bo. We'll call Bo Bo Detective.

• 5:18Matt Farah?

No, no, no, I'm not, I'm not.

• 5:19Speaker 01

  Bob guy.

• 5:20Matt Farah?

No, no, no, no, no. This is a completely different young person.

• 5:23Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 5:24Matt Farah?

  That I met.

• 5:24Speaker 01

  Neil Mann.

• 5:25Matt Farah?

That I met at the ice race.

• 5:26Speaker 02

  Okay, cool.

• 5:27Matt Farah?

Okay, in Montana, and he has a podcast.

• 5:30Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 5:30Matt Farah?

  It's a tech podcast.

• 5:31Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 5:32Matt Farah?

And they do it five days a week.

• 5:34Speaker 01

  Okay.

• 5:35Matt Farah?

  For like hours a day.

• 5:36Speaker 01

  Okay.

• 5:37Matt Farah?

It's, it's, it seems like a lot of work.

• 5:39Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 5:40Matt Farah?

And, uh, the numbers are like not as much as the numbers of like this show, but it's.

• 5:47Speaker 01

  Like episode to episode.

• 5:48Matt Farah?

Episodic numbers, the raw numbers are, are, are, are good.

• 5:52Speaker 01

  Yes.

• 5:52Matt Farah?

And he apparently, you know, ma- makes, made, has quite a lot of like concurrent views on live stream, because people put it on as like a news program.

• 6:00Speaker 01

  Yeah, yeah, yeah.

• 6:01Matt Farah?

In the background while they're working, whatever. Good for this dude. I just found out that he sold this fucking podcast for like $200 million. With, and he isn't Joe Rogan, and he isn't Deck Shepard, or Will Arnett, or Amy Poehler. It's a, it's a tech, a tech dude. It's just a tech dude with, you know.

• 6:23Speaker 01

  That's crazy to me.

• 6:25Matt Farah?

You know, immedi- with medium numbers, who see, who I'm, I'm happy that this person now has instant generational wealth.

• 6:32Speaker 02

So this show is actually gonna be all about solid state batteries today?

• 6:35Speaker 01

Yeah, that's why you guys brought me in, you're trying to increase the valuation.

• 6:38Matt Farah?

Welcome to the Smoking Tire Entrepreneurship Hour.

• 6:40Speaker 01

Yeah. You guys brought me in.

• 6:42Speaker 02

What's your rise and grind routine?

• 6:44Speaker 01

Spike your numbers, try to increase the valuation.

• 6:47Matt Farah?

That's the uphill battle that we do. You're trying to create a stand-up career based entirely on automotive material, which is, which is a tough fucking needle to thread.

• 6:55Speaker 01

It's not entirely, I will say that, it's not entirely, it's not entirely. Well, people come out sit thinking that, so. It's like dude, you know, you throw stuff at the wall, see what sticks, right? And then just my love of cars come somehow surface like the, you know, the cream always rises type stuff.

• 7:12Matt Farah?

  Yeah, yeah.

• 7:12Speaker 01

So it's like, I'm doing all this funny stuff online, just doing stand up every night. And then when I talk about cars, it does exponentially better because I'm bringing something different to it.

• 7:21Matt Farah?

Sure. So on a reel or in the room?

• 7:24Speaker 01

  I'm talking about online.

• 7:25Matt Farah?

  Online, yeah.

• 7:26Speaker 01

So then what happens is I get all these car people, this is like, it really started two, three years ago.

• 7:31Matt Farah?

I think this is why, I think car people see someone finally talking about cars and they share that. They go, oh my God, this guy's finally talking about cars, I'm gonna send it to my car friend.

• 7:40Speaker 01

So then for, it started with me just doing my, an hour and then people be like, bro, a guy literally came up to me one show two years ago, goes, bro, great show, but do more car stuff. And I was like, oh, okay, well, what do you drive? He goes, oh, I don't have a car. I was like, get out of my, go figure out your life, bro. Get back on the bus and figure your life out. But, but that's the moment I realized, oh, a lot of these, so then now it's like a good third of the show is car inspired and I do it right off the top because all the us artistic car guys are like, so I gotta, otherwise, uh, but then they hit the point. Yeah, you know, but, but then all of their significant others, all these women, there's a moment of the show where it's kinda like, what is kinda, and then I do a joke like, this is the whole show, by the way.

• 8:23Speaker 01

And then I'll switch gears into like, you know, life and it's not a hundred percent. And even us, you, even 20 minutes into being like E46s and like, that guy works at, you know, you know, that guy's at whatever Jiffy Lube or you're gonna make, okay, talk about your kid or like, you switch it up.

• 8:40Matt Farah?

  That's literally this show.

• 8:42Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 8:42Matt Farah?

This show, we can't talk about cars for 90 minutes.

• 8:44Speaker 01

  Yeah, yeah, exactly.

• 8:45Matt Farah?

We're supposed to, but we fucking don't.

• 8:47Speaker 01

You start itching. You're like, okay, it's like, I.

• 8:49Matt Farah?

Yeah. This leads me to, just take a quick poll, though. You go to see a band or an artist perform live, okay? And it's someone you're casually into, maybe you know like one or two of their songs, like the hits.

• 9:02Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 9:03Matt Farah?

Do you want them to play the hits up front? Spread, you know, in, or do you want, do you want them to, to close out with the hits?

• 9:12Speaker 01

Me personally, I want it, I want their new thing to be sandwiched in between hits. I want them to open, middle and close with hits.

• 9:19Speaker 02

  You want the compliment sandwich?

• 9:21Speaker 01

It's not the same with comedy, because I can't keep repeating it. But, exactly, exactly. I want the hits, like if you go see the Eagles, you want them to open with Hotel California, or New Kid in Town, or whatever. And then you want them to kind of close with the same thing. And put their new thing in the middle.

• 9:37Matt Farah?

But it's like a one-hit-wondery kind of band, maybe that's opening for the Eagles, or whatever.

• 9:42Speaker 01

They gotta do their thing six times.

• 9:44Matt Farah?

  Seriously, those guys.

• 9:45Speaker 01

Open, middle and close. What, when, uh, Not Like Us, remember Kendrick from two years ago, was that last year?

• 9:51Matt Farah?

  Yeah.

• 9:51Speaker 01

It was like a year of Not Like Us.

• 9:53Speaker 02

  Yeah.

• 9:54Speaker 01

Apparently he did it like six times, or like eight times at his like LA show or something like that.

• 9:58Matt Farah?

  Seriously?

• 9:58Speaker 02

I believe that, well, because it was-

• 10:00Speaker 01

Just like twice in a row, open with it, once again.

• 10:02Speaker 02

That was the famous thing, like Kanye and Jay-Z, when they went to, they went to Paris and they did that song and they, they said like a record of like-

• 10:08Speaker 01

  Say it, say it.

• 10:10Matt Farah?

Dude, let's get the, let's get the numbers up. Let's get, let's sell this.

• 10:13Speaker 02

  Let's drive controversy.

• 10:15Speaker 01

It looks like you want to retire.

• 10:17Speaker 02

The Rogan line, like, "I'm just saying the name of the song."

• 10:19Matt Farah?

  Yeah, yeah.

• 10:20Speaker 02

Um, but they did it like six times in a row and it was, it was like the marketing, everyone around the world was talking about it, so, yeah.

• 10:27Speaker 01

Nah, I know what you mean, man. It's like, so funny.

• 10:29Matt Farah?

But, but, you see the audience.

• 10:31Speaker 01

You know the thing where they're in France together? Yeah.

• 10:33Speaker 02

They're speaking about a trip to France, in this song.

• 10:36Speaker 01

It was just a couple, I think it was a couple pals, in Pa- pals in Paris? Is that what it was? Pals in Paris?

• 10:41Speaker 02

They've achieved financial success, they're traveling through Paris. Let's listen now to-

• 10:45Speaker 01

No, buds in Paris. Buds in Paris.

• 10:49Matt Farah?

That's awesome. I, I, I was, uh, hanging out with my buddy Christian Hand and he was talking about, we were joking about this, and I think, I think I'd want to probably hear the band close with a hit, if there was just the one. But, uh, Christian said he saw, uh, a couple of artists throughout the late eighties and nineties do open, middle and close with the one hit.

• 11:10Speaker 01

  Oh, you, you have to.

• 11:11Matt Farah?

  Yeah.

• 11:11Speaker 01

  You have to.

• 11:12Matt Farah?

I think it was, was it, I think it was Blue Oyster Cult, is that Fear the, Don't Fear the Reaper? He said they played Don't Fear the Reaper three times, yeah.

• 11:18Speaker 01

  Whoa.

• 11:18Matt Farah?

And he said, I think it was John, uh, John Sik- uh, John Sikata, I think is a nineties singer? He was a radio DJ, so he had to go see a lot.

• 11:27Speaker 02

  Sounds like a Hawaiian superstar.

• 11:27Matt Farah?

He had to go see a lot. He said he did the hit three times and then closed with doing it in Spanish.

• 11:35Speaker 02

He's gotta give it new for himself.

• 11:36Speaker 01

Dude, if I was in that audience and you're a one-hit wonder, or even any of these like iconic people, and they close on a new song, you know it's not the real close. You know they're gonna come back on stage.

• 11:47Matt Farah?

  That's just basic stagecraft.

• 11:49Speaker 01

Yeah, you're like, this isn't, they're gonna leave out and we're all gonna be like, ah.

• 11:53Matt Farah?

  My wife hates an encore.

• 11:55Speaker 01

  Does she?

• 11:56Matt Farah?

Hates an encore. She gets mad. And I'm like, they gotta pee, have a little beverage before the free song.

• 12:01Speaker 01

That puts the frickin', this guy, that takes the stress out of your life, huh?

• 12:06Matt Farah?

  Yeah, I know.

• 12:07Speaker 01

Dear God bless your wife, huh? Hey, she hates an encore.

• 12:11Speaker 02

I'm gonna slide the BlueChew ad in right here.

• 12:13Matt Farah?

  BlueChew gold.

• 12:14Speaker 02

He's like, I'm not done yet. And she's like, you better be done. You better be done.

• 12:17Matt Farah?

When your wife insists on an encore.

• 12:21Speaker 02

Goodnight Springfield, there will be no encore.

• 12:23Matt Farah?

  This is Cleveland, what?

• 12:25Speaker 02

Matt, just play the hit up front, please.

• 12:30Matt Farah?

  Ah, and on my anniversary.

• 12:33Speaker 01

  Is it your anniversary?

• 12:34Matt Farah?

It was, uh, 4/20 is my anniversary.

• 12:36Speaker 01

  Dude, 4/27 for me.

• 12:37Matt Farah?

  Is it 4/27?

• 12:39Speaker 01

Well, yeah, so seven, we screwed up the timing.

• 12:41Matt Farah?

You almost got that right wedding date.

• 12:42Speaker 01

  Screwed up the timing, bro.

• 12:43Matt Farah?

I'll tell you what, if your wedding is 4/20, uh, your friends will remember to wish you a happy anniversary years later, even when all others have forgotten. Yeah, yeah.

• 12:54Speaker 01

Um, this is funny. I'm a, I'm a, I'm like, I smoke weed a lot, you know, not in the sense of like, I'm like, yo, I'm the, you know what I mean?

• 13:01Matt Farah?

  Yeah.

• 13:01Speaker 01

But I'm not exactly in the culture in the way that, literally on 4/20, I went to Dispensary in New York to get a, you know, a pre-roller too. And, uh, she had a box behind her. She goes, and here's a free one on the house. And then I'm like, oh, well, you guys got a promo going on or something?

• 13:18Matt Farah?

  Didn't even know?

• 13:18Speaker 01

And then the store was packed.

• 13:19Matt Farah?

  You didn't even know?

• 13:20Speaker 01

First of all, Dispensary was packed and it was so alive and there was free donuts. I realized, I was like, oh, someone's birthday. None of it. I'm like, oh, it's a promo. She's like, no, it's 4/20.

• 13:28Matt Farah?

  Oh, yeah.

• 13:29Speaker 02

You're like, you're buying costumes on Halloween for a different, like a party. You're like, what's going on this weekend?

• 13:33Speaker 01

Yeah, exactly. Hey, what's going on with all these people in like gorilla outfits and stuff going on here? And you're buying a gorilla outfit?

• 13:39Matt Farah?

  Irish on St. Patrick's Day?

• 13:40Speaker 01

Yeah. I'm just an arnolholic man.

• 13:42Matt Farah?

Yeah, I don't need an excuse to be this drunk.

• 13:44Speaker 01

  So all the green alcohol.

• 13:45Matt Farah?

Up the road from here and uh, you know, is the uh, the Snoop Dogg store. It's just right here.

• 13:51Speaker 01

Dude, everyone's got a dispensary out here.

• 13:53Matt Farah?

Yeah, but I mean, if you're gonna go to someone's, I mean, Snoop Dogg's, there's, you could do worse than Snoop Dogg's dispensary.

• 13:58Speaker 01

I think Jeter, Derek Jeter, or one of the, do they have? Because I just, in that dispensary, it had a big little like, uh, stand up front being like, Jeter.

• 14:07Matt Farah?

No, there's a brand of weed called Jeter.

• 14:09Speaker 01

It is not associated with them.

• 14:10Matt Farah?

I do not think it is associated with Derek Jeter.

• 14:13Speaker 01

The marketing was so strong. Oh, what was his?

• 14:16Matt Farah?

  And Derek is J E.

• 14:17Speaker 01

Correct, it's spelled with two E's.

• 14:19Matt Farah?

  J E E T E R.

• 14:21Speaker 01

But it was such strong branding, I'm like, that's him for sure.

• 14:23Matt Farah?

Well, the weed industry, I mean, not only is-

• 14:25Speaker 01

  Retirement pass now.

• 14:27Matt Farah?

The packaging uh, in the weed industry is so innovative and awesome.

• 14:31Speaker 01

  Dude, especially the edibles?

• 14:32Matt Farah?

But also like the, the trademark infringement that goes on in the weed industry.

• 14:37Speaker 01

  Oh, it's the Wild West.

• 14:38Matt Farah?

I, I was in the weed store, I went to the Snoop Dogg store on 420, it was a shit show, by the way. There was, there was parking lot vendors, like, it was nuts. Uh, there was a huge line, it was fun though, 50% off. And uh, so, there uh, there was a weed brand called Elon Musk.

• 14:56Speaker 01

That's, that actually just is hilarious, it works great.

• 14:59Matt Farah?

There was like Ford Bronco Indica.

• 15:01Speaker 01

  Yeah, it makes you autistic.

• 15:02Matt Farah?

There was just like, there was the, the amount of trademark infringement.

• 15:07Speaker 01

  You just start firing employees.

• 15:08Matt Farah?

You start naming people X432 Pi, yeah, yeah.

• 15:12Speaker 01

  I love you, X4.

• 15:15Speaker 01

  Will you have my babies?

• 15:16Speaker 02

Cutting your own hair and getting divorced.

• 15:17Speaker 01

I love you, Gamma Batman symbol. You are my favorite of the 27.

• 15:22Speaker 02

Yeah. Which, which one are you? Which one are you?

• 15:26Matt Farah?

  Oh, okay.

• 15:27Speaker 01

Who did I say this to? He's like, it's not really a car company anymore, that Tesla.

• 15:31Matt Farah?

He pretty much is giving up on cars.

• 15:33Speaker 01

No, no, he's, he's in the future, I've been saying this for like 10 years.

• 15:36Matt Farah?

• 20:03Speaker 01

No, no, he's in the future. I've been saying this for like 10 years. Okay, so you own all the cars. You own the space travel stuff. You're gonna like have all the home stuff and it's all gonna be integrated in a way where it's like, okay, if the governments turn on him and you know, he's like suggesting to pay for like TSA. Oh, it's just like a lot of like tentacles into government that you're like, yo, he's only in his 40s. Is he even in his 50s yet?

• 20:29Matt Farah?

Yeah, he's in his 50s, but like.

• 20:31Speaker 01

He's not gonna die at 100. He's going past. He's gonna be like 150.

• 20:36Matt Farah?

A head on a spider stand.

• 20:38Speaker 01

  Exactly.

• 20:39Matt Farah?

But it's, uh, he, have you seen Total Recall?

• 20:43Speaker 01

  Of course.

• 20:44Matt Farah?

Total Recall is like one of his favorite movies and he doesn't, he either doesn't or even more scarily does. He's Co-Hagan. He's literally, he owned, the guy who owns the air.

• 20:55Speaker 01

  Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.

• 20:57Matt Farah?

He owns Mars. He owns the air.

• 21:00Speaker 01

They own space. They're getting like him and Bezos, like they're like blue, they're like dibs on space essentially.

• 21:05Matt Farah?

Yeah, he keeps all the, all the like trans weird people and the, the freaks quote in the, in this one corner and is threatening to kill them by cutting off their air if they don't do what he wants. I mean, that's.

• 21:17Speaker 01

No, no, he's gonna be president of Mars. He's gonna be worshipped on Mars. Like a hundred years from now, Mars will have people on it and he will be like the guy that.

• 21:28Speaker 02

  It'll be his cult.

• 21:29Speaker 01

  Yeah, yeah.

• 21:30Speaker 02

It'll be his, uh, whatever, prairie rage or something like that.

• 21:32Speaker 01

If people did it with yoga in the earth, imagine leaving the earth, setting up life in another planet. They're gonna worship you, dude. For like a thousand years, we'll be gone, long gone.

• 21:45Matt Farah?

  And if you don't.

• 21:45Speaker 01

We're Musconians. We have Mars, Musconians.

• 21:49Matt Farah?

  Yeah.

• 21:49Speaker 01

  All praise be.

• 21:50Speaker 02

He'll change the name of the planet.

• 21:52Matt Farah?

But he'll use, he'll use cheap domes that don't have UV resistance, which will turn the people into, uh, mutant freaks.

• 21:59Speaker 01

  Of course.

• 22:00Matt Farah?

And then he'll go, ew, mutant freaks and banish them to the corner.

• 22:04Speaker 01

It's like Venus is where we're going next.

• 22:06Matt Farah?

Where have I heard this storyline before?

• 22:07Speaker 02

He'll be really upset about it.

• 22:08Matt Farah?

  Yeah.

• 22:08Speaker 02

  So he'll be like, ah.

• 22:09Matt Farah?

That's literally the plot of Total Recall.

• 22:11Speaker 01

And you gotta pay the mump. Premium for the UV protection.

• 22:14Matt Farah?

  Yes.

• 22:14Speaker 01

Like, look, we know it was free at the beginning.

• 22:17Matt Farah?

You wanna upgrade your dome, right?

• 22:19Speaker 01

  Recurring revenue, you guys.

• 22:20Matt Farah?

Seen these three titties over here? You like, you wanna have two titties, not three, right?

• 22:24Speaker 01

We're getting gamma rays next week, so I would, I would upgrade if I were you.

• 22:29Speaker 02

  Sunburst coming.

• 22:30Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 22:30Speaker 02

  You should really upgrade.

• 22:31Speaker 01

  Highly recommend it.

• 22:33Matt Farah?

I'm just saying. I think I'm gonna put UV tint on the windows of my house.

• 22:39Speaker 02

  Oh, that, yeah.

• 22:40Matt Farah?

I didn't do that and I, I kind of regret it.

• 22:43Speaker 02

That guy does it. The guy that tinted my car, he mostly does residential now.

• 22:46Matt Farah?

  Yeah, we gotta do that.

• 22:47Speaker 02

He's like, I only do cars. Buildings are easier and I get paid more.

• 22:51Matt Farah?

  Windows are flat.

• 22:52Speaker 01

I guess you save your couch from like sun?

• 22:54Matt Farah?

  Dude, I mean.

• 22:55Speaker 01

  Damage?

• 22:56Speaker 02

  Easy cost.

• 22:56Speaker 01

  What do you?

• 22:57Matt Farah?

You save your, well, cooling, cooling your house, certainly in the, in the summer.

• 23:00Speaker 01

The UV, but UV doesn't do too much heating, like infrared, like the lower end of the spectrum does more of the heating. The UV, they'll do more of like biological damage or like degrade, you know, paint, finishes.

• 23:15Speaker 02

Primary source of felt heat, but yeah, it damages people and things more.

• 23:19Speaker 01

  Science, motherfucker.

• 23:21Matt Farah?

  Fucking fade my wood.

• 23:22Speaker 01

Yeah. Okay, you got some nice wood at the crib, huh?

• 23:24Matt Farah?

  Got some okay wood.

• 23:26Speaker 01

Yeah, we've got some smoking tire.

• 23:28Matt Farah?

Two hundred million dollar podcast, what? It was me. That was me. Dude, I haven't told Zach yet.

• 23:34Speaker 01

  We gotta talk, brother.

• 23:35Matt Farah?

  Yeah, no, my wood is.

• 23:37Speaker 01

I watch those YouTube channels of, uh, people that take a.

• 23:40Matt Farah?

Yeah, literally this, dude. This is the slab table.

• 23:42Speaker 01

This is literally, now I'm looking at it again. I watch this stuff. They put the epoxy resin.

• 23:46Matt Farah?

  Yeah.

• 23:46Speaker 01

They fill it, they sand it down to like one thousand grit.

• 23:50Matt Farah?

  Yeah.

• 23:50Speaker 01

And then this is like an eight thousand dollar table, isn't it?

• 23:53Matt Farah?

  We.

• 23:53Speaker 01

Matt, how much is this table?

• 23:54Matt Farah?

No, it wasn't. Shout out to my homie Mickey Iwasaki who made us this table.

• 23:59Speaker 01

Is that the guy that does fat fenders on nine elevens?

• 24:04Speaker 02

No, this guy, this guy smokes cigarettes and then cuts up trees and just makes tables.

• 24:09Speaker 01

Yeah, he's just sitting on a chair.

• 24:11Speaker 02

Yeah, like what if I pour plastic in the table?

• 24:12Matt Farah?

You know what it is really?

• 24:13Speaker 01

Have you ever met that guy?

• 24:14Matt Farah?

  Uh, Nakai?

• 24:16Speaker 01

Is that what's his name? The, uh, rear wheel?

• 24:19Matt Farah?

Yeah, RW Nakai, yeah, I have not, I have not met him, no.

• 24:22Speaker 02

  What a legend though.

• 24:22Matt Farah?

  Yeah, his rider is amazing.

• 24:24Speaker 02

  I wonder.

• 24:25Matt Farah?

I need like a whole bunch of Coca-Cola.

• 24:28Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 24:28Matt Farah?

Two cartons of Marlboro Reds and somewhere I could smoke indoors while I use an angle grinder.

• 24:34Speaker 01

Yeah, yeah, yeah, and they bring him a nice chair too. They bring him a nice chair like, and they put it right in the middle of the shop and he, and he's got sandals on and he kind of crosses his, it's such a vibe.

• 24:46Matt Farah?

They're like, Steve, get up, Steve, give him your chair, Steve. But this is a Herman Miller box, give him your fucking chair, Steve.

• 24:52Speaker 01

  And, and bring the ottoman.

• 24:55Matt Farah?

My buddy owns a Porsche dealership. My buddy owns a Porsche dealership and they were having him come do a build.

• 25:01Speaker 01

  Really?

• 25:01Matt Farah?

As a display, yeah, yeah, yeah. And fucking, he calls me and he goes, Matt, he wants to smoke while he works. I go, yeah.

• 25:09Speaker 01

  Yeah, of course.

• 25:09Matt Farah?

And he goes, but we were gonna do this in the showroom. I go, well, you gotta make a decision.

• 25:16Speaker 01

Get some filter, hepa filters in. Cause you got a show. If he doesn't smoke, you're gonna ruin, like this is not gonna be a good show for you.

• 25:24Matt Farah?

  Listen, no grit, no work.

• 25:25Speaker 01

  Exactly.

• 25:26Speaker 02

I mean, that's like a church booking Bad Religion by accident, like they're a popular band we hear. Not sure, what's with the shirts?

• 25:32Speaker 01

He's the Dave Chappelle of this car stuff, huh?

• 25:34Speaker 02

  He is?

• 25:35Speaker 01

Yeah, cause he gets to smoke.

• 25:37Speaker 02

  Oh, right, yeah.

• 25:39Speaker 01

If you hit a certain level of artistry in whatever you do.

• 25:41Speaker 02

  Yes.

• 25:42Speaker 01

Indoor smoking rules no longer apply to you.

• 25:44Matt Farah?

Sure, that's a crime for poor people.

• 25:46Speaker 01

  Yeah, exactly.

• 25:47Speaker 02

  Sean Penn.

• 25:48Matt Farah?

Who is that? Is that Sean?

• 25:49Speaker 01

  Sean Penn.

• 25:50Speaker 02

No, no, Sean Penn smoked at the Oscars all night and they said he got warned six times, which is like, alright, he had six cigarettes then. And he looks like he smokes every day, cause he does.

• 25:59Speaker 01

I love that, uh, the security guy being told you have, you have to ask him to leave now.

• 26:03Speaker 02

  Yeah.

• 26:04Matt Farah?

You want me to tell, you want me to can?

• 26:06Speaker 01

  He's I am Sam.

• 26:07Matt Farah?

He's gonna, he's about to win.

• 26:09Speaker 02

He just played like a psychotic army guy.

• 26:11Speaker 01

Oh dude, that, his role is.

• 26:13Speaker 02

  Great in that.

• 26:13Speaker 01

The way he walks, he nailed that walk.

• 26:16Speaker 02

  Yeah.

• 26:16Speaker 01

He nailed that walk. Those like ex-veteran guys.

• 26:20Matt Farah?

  His face.

• 26:20Speaker 01

  The Army.

• 26:21Speaker 02

  Yeah.

• 26:22Speaker 01

  Dude, he nailed that walk.

• 26:23Speaker 02

  I mean, his face looks.

• 26:24Speaker 01

  And the body.

• 26:24Speaker 02

His face looks like the Dutch bread we eat, you know, crinkled up like an old bag.

• 26:28Matt Farah?

Yeah. I would definitely let him have grits in the studio. Guys, taking a break from the action because support is coming in fast. Like Jim Farley, the CEO of Ford, who's now got a podcast. And you're always asking me what I'm listening to when not recording this show. And right now, it's this, the new season of Drive with Jim Farley. In it, the Ford CEO talks to some of his favorite people about what they're driving and what drives them to succeed. Like Formula One driver Daniel Ricciardo. Listen, there's a well-worn trope about racing drivers not being interesting to listen to. But if there is one that is interesting to listen to, it is Daniel Ricciardo. I think this guy's takes on stuff and life are great.

• 27:12Matt Farah?

And look, Jim is a racing driver also. I personally raced against him like two months ago. And for me, a CEO that drives race cars on the weekends is about the pinnacle of CEO-dom when it comes to car companies. So the two of them together obviously have a lot of things to discuss on Drive with Jim Farley, which you can get on your podcast app. Very easy to find, Drive with Jim Farley. Check it out. Like, whatever you want.

• 27:44Speaker 02

Tell him not to, he'll kill you.

• 27:45Matt Farah?

Dave Chappelle, yeah, he'll smoke wherever.

• 27:48Speaker 01

Smoke, chain smoke. Yeah, no one will say a thing.

• 27:50Matt Farah?

God, that is a nice, that is a nice privilege of, you know, being that successful. If you like smoking, which listeners of this show.

• 27:59Speaker 01

You have a big, not a big, probably a big vaping. You have a big vaping audience, huh?

• 28:04Speaker 02

  No.

• 28:05Speaker 01

  Huh? Still think about it?

• 28:06Matt Farah?

  Cigarettes?

• 28:07Speaker 01

  Oh, yeah.

• 28:07Matt Farah?

  Every day.

• 28:08Speaker 01

  Yeah?

• 28:08Matt Farah?

  Oh, yeah.

• 28:09Speaker 01

  Every day.

• 28:09Matt Farah?

  Love him. Loved him.

• 28:11Speaker 01

Every day. He's like, that's what I was thinking about.

• 28:13Speaker 02

Whenever we talk about cigarettes, he romances it and I'm still.

• 28:16Matt Farah?

He's having a flashback right now. I get it. I get it. They're so gross. People shouldn't smoke, but also, mm.

• 28:22Speaker 01

  You get it.

• 28:22Matt Farah?

  Mm, that I enjoy.

• 28:24Speaker 01

Look, when you flick through the photos, there's always him sitting.

• 28:27Matt Farah?

Nakai's like, wearing Uncle Rico pants, uh, just cutting.

• 28:32Speaker 01

He's also a style icon. If you actually pay attention to what he's wearing and like, he's always got like some next look. It's like a high top sandal he's wearing right now. It's like, he's like a hype beast, wearing cigarettes, smoking. He's pretty much as cool as it gets.

• 28:48Matt Farah?

To be Japanese and not give a fuck is as high a style icon as it exists.

• 28:54Speaker 01

He looks like he should have a fragrance, doesn't he?

• 28:57Speaker 02

  Yeah.

• 28:57Speaker 01

Doesn't he look like he should?

• 28:59Speaker 02

He should have like a rap album, a fragrance.

• 29:01Matt Farah?

Yeah. Like, doesn't necessarily look like a guy who does bodywork.

• 29:05Speaker 01

  No, not at all.

• 29:07Speaker 02

He looks like a music producer.

• 29:08Speaker 01

Yeah, exactly. He looks like the Japanese Rick Rubin. Dude, what a legend.

• 29:13Speaker 02

  Yeah, dude.

• 29:14Speaker 01

I'd love to meet this guy.

• 29:15Speaker 02

His mashup with Skrillex was awesome.

• 29:18Matt Farah?

Uh, yeah, we have, we have friends that are, are good friends with this dude and say really great things, but just as a, as a character that exists in the universe, you know? There, there should be a, wow, that's, see, that looks like a good place to smoke cigarettes and cut up vendors. Like, there's a big outdoor pavilion.

• 29:38Speaker 01

They actually took that wall out in preparation for him, huh?

• 29:41Speaker 02

  It's on his rider.

• 29:42Matt Farah?

Yeah, they, we're gonna have to take that north face and wall out. It appears that this is RWB Manila, so they have probably built a outdoor like stadium in the Philippines for him to come build cars.

• 29:55Speaker 02

And, and he is an icon because, have we talked about any other body shop work? I mean, Ring Brothers, they do amazing work, but we don't go, look at the picture of them building the thing.

• 30:04Matt Farah?

Right. It's where, yeah, where it's a performance.

• 30:06Speaker 02

  Yeah.

• 30:07Speaker 01

Exactly, that's why the cigarette is so necessary.

• 30:10Matt Farah?

  Yes.

• 30:10Speaker 01

Because, what, he's smoking indoors? Just immediately that.

• 30:14Speaker 02

  It has atmosphere.

• 30:15Speaker 01

That's already iconic a little bit, like cigarette inside is like, whoa, it's like 1965, or like, what?

• 30:21Matt Farah?

By the way, he's also sawzalling a 993 in flip flops.

• 30:24Speaker 01

Yeah, yeah, exactly, with like a perfect line by hand.

• 30:28Matt Farah?

Yeah, look, I think he's wearing Crocs.

• 30:30Speaker 01

Great forearms, what a legend, man, what else do you want? Yeah, see those Crocs, and he's got flair on him, too.

• 30:36Speaker 02

  Oh, yeah.

• 30:37Speaker 01

He's dressed like Bobby Lee a little bit.

• 30:40Speaker 02

  He's dressed like Bobby.

• 30:41Speaker 01

And it's not even an Asian, the Asian thing, I'm just, hey, I'm just, if you look at Lee.

• 30:45Matt Farah?

  That's so.

• 30:46Speaker 01

Yeah. Have you seen that movie Bus Boys yet?

• 30:48Speaker 02

  Uh-uh.

• 30:49Speaker 01

Is it good? I haven't seen it, I wanna go watch it.

• 30:51Matt Farah?

He kinda dressed like Carl also.

• 30:54Speaker 02

Oh, yeah, a lot of chefs just dress like this, cuz they need comfy feet, and it doesn't really matter what they look like from like, I don't know, the nipples down, pretty much.

• 31:01Speaker 01

What's it with chefs and tattoos? When did that become a thing?

• 31:04Matt Farah?

  Chefs and tattoos?

• 31:05Speaker 01

  Tattoos.

• 31:06Matt Farah?

  Uh.

• 31:07Speaker 01

  Chefs and tattoos?

• 31:08Matt Farah?

  Hipster artistry.

• 31:10Speaker 02

Probably all the same time, right?

• 31:11Matt Farah?

The aesthetic of being a chef versus, I mean, I don't know, I think chefs are always like pirates.

• 31:16Speaker 02

Do you think chefs and tattoos preceded, like, tattoos popularity and everything else? Cuz they weren't that popular when I was like 20, and then all of a sudden it was like, everyone's getting sleeves. Everyone's, and baristas have sleeves, and now it's not tough anymore.

• 31:30Speaker 01

Yeah, 10 years ago, I worked like some event with a celebrity chef, I was just like, literally a busboy. And, uh, and, uh, or like clearing tables and stuff, and the celebrity chef just, he would keep coming out to take photos with people, cuz they would pay a bunch to eat there.

• 31:44Matt Farah?

  Yeah.

• 31:44Speaker 01

And so they'd be like, hi, can we, I forget his name, some French guy, but he's just like, you know, there's such an aesthetic, the way those cocktail bartenders.

• 31:53Speaker 02

  Sure.

• 31:53Speaker 01

I get their like, custom leather apron. That has like, it's like, uh, I don't know what the string is, it's like, chain link on one side.

• 32:03Speaker 02

  Hemp on the other.

• 32:04Speaker 01

Hemp on the other side, yeah. And it's tight and fitted, and a white shirt, and just sleeves, and he's like, got, you know, like, author glasses.

• 32:12Speaker 02

  Who?

• 32:12Matt Farah?

  Ludo Le Fabre.

• 32:13Speaker 01

Oh, I know who that is.

• 32:14Matt Farah?

The guy, uh, the petit trois guy.

• 32:18Matt Farah?

Twomek and Petit Twa? He's a TV show.

• 32:20Speaker 01

They're all the TV chefs. It's all an aesthetic.

• 32:24Matt Farah?

I mean, for sure, if you're a chef on TV, that's a different story, because you're gonna Hollywood yourself up.

• 32:31Speaker 01

Or magazine, magazine too, because they all do picture things.

• 32:35Matt Farah?

Yeah, except my boy Carl, who gave no fucks.

• 32:37Speaker 02

I wonder, it's also like a way you can individualize yourself, because everyone, all the chefs are wearing the same uniform essentially, but you can do forums, so you go, well, here's who I am.

• 32:46Matt Farah?

Yeah, here's the bit you'll see.

• 32:48Speaker 02

  It's that and a beard.

• 32:49Speaker 01

But even these high level ones, the, the, the uniform goes down to the wrist.

• 32:53Matt Farah?

So Carl, Carl used to say, uh, that, you know, back in the day, they would wear, uh, uh, toques, the hat, the chef's hats. And the different, the height, the height of the toque was how much power you had in the kitchen. So if you were a dishwasher, it was real low, and then the chef. And they don't do that anymore. Now, the guy with the AP in the kitchen, that's the chef.

• 33:13Speaker 01

  Yeah, exactly, exactly.

• 33:14Speaker 02

  Expensive watch.

• 33:16Matt Farah?

  It's just a hierarchy watch.

• 33:20Speaker 02

Plus, he's got a Rolex on.

• 33:21Matt Farah?

Yeah, yeah, yeah. The G-Shock is, uh, is doing the soup. And, uh, yeah, so that's what you would say.

• 33:28Speaker 01

Dude, I was watching, uh, uh, the news the other day, and there was like some fire or something in Philadelphia, and they had the Philadelphia Fire Inspector on, uh, the news. And like, bro, the helmet he was wearing, the badge that was on it, it was hilar-, it looked like a Saturday Night Live parody for firefighters. Like, the size of, of the badge was the funniest thing I've ever seen. And, and, and I think his said like-

• 33:53Speaker 02

  Holy shit.

• 33:54Matt Farah?

Did you find a photo of it? Yeah, I think so.

• 33:57Speaker 01

It, it shot, it was hilarious, bro. They're all just standing there being very serious.

• 34:01Matt Farah?

Did the badge look like it should be mounted in the rear window of an Impala?

• 34:05Speaker 02

I mean, this is an old one.

• 34:06Speaker 01

Whoa, but the new one, it was all gold, this one is like a fabric.

• 34:11Matt Farah?

  Holy shit.

• 34:12Speaker 01

It's like, take a police badge and literally by scale ma-, ma-, eight times, and just put it on a firefighter helmet. It's giant and hilarious, and they're like, yeah, no, you know, at the scene, it was like, it's a very serious, and I'm like, is this a joke?

• 34:26Matt Farah?

It's like from a Mel Brooks movie. It looks like Lord Helmet's helmet.

• 34:29Speaker 01

Bro, it looks like aliens fl-, like pretending to be humans.

• 34:33Matt Farah?

Is it's, wow, I mean, even just, I'm, the visual that Zach has provided with this photo, I can see the scale, and that's very silly.

• 34:40Speaker 01

It was just hilarious, I was like, that's so funny.

• 34:42Matt Farah?

  Was it a ceremonial?

• 34:43Speaker 01

No, no, no, no, they were like-

• 34:46Speaker 02

  Just.

• 34:47Matt Farah?

  Oh boo. What are these?

• 34:49Speaker 02

It sent me the wrong link.

• 34:50Matt Farah?

Yeah, okay. Here's. Wow. Yo, yo, yo.

• 34:54Speaker 02

Alright, if you're facing this person, for people listening, you would not be able to see their head.

• 34:57Speaker 01

And the chief, I think, his is bigger.

• 34:59Matt Farah?

  Okay, look.

• 35:00Speaker 01

So, once you take the assistant off, they, they increase it thirty percent in size.

• 35:04Matt Farah?

For the record, Red Lives Matter, or whatever.

• 35:07Speaker 02

  Absolutely, but the.

• 35:08Matt Farah?

Respect. Man, I'm not laughing at firefighters, but firefighters.

• 35:11Speaker 01

  But like this helmet.

• 35:12Matt Farah?

  That's crazy.

• 35:13Speaker 01

  This helmet.

• 35:14Matt Farah?

Not even the helmet, just the badge.

• 35:15Speaker 02

The shield eclipses the helmet when viewed from the front.

• 35:19Matt Farah?

Bro, and there's. Looks cartoony, doesn't it? The shield is like a bit cartoony.

• 35:23Speaker 01

It looks like a costume. And the one I was watching, it had, this one actually sits directly over the helmet. Theirs was sitting like, it was, uh, over it. It was like, it had two, three inch gap over, it was sitting way above. I was like, what?

• 35:39Speaker 02

I wonder if this is like a game they're all playing.

• 35:41Matt Farah?

It was on high risers, too?

• 35:42Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 35:43Matt Farah?

  Wow, they all look.

• 35:44Speaker 01

That one looks badass. This one fits in, it's all part of it. Like, these ones were sticking proud.

• 35:48Matt Farah?

That's like, this is, right here is where you've gone plus one on your wheel size, here. But you don't want to go plus two.

• 35:56Speaker 01

  Oh, right, yeah.

• 35:56Matt Farah?

  It just gets crazy.

• 35:57Speaker 02

This is like a seventeen, no, it's like an eighteen.

• 35:59Matt Farah?

  That's an eighteen.

• 36:00Speaker 02

Go back to the other guy, this is a twenty.

• 36:01Matt Farah?

That's, that's Dub Deuces, right there.

• 36:03Speaker 02

It looks like this is how they identify quickly, you know, the hierarchy.

• 36:08Matt Farah?

  I guess.

• 36:08Speaker 02

You know, out in the field, like, this is mechanic.

• 36:10Matt Farah?

Keep going. They all have them.

• 36:13Speaker 01

  They all have them.

• 36:14Matt Farah?

The big, the big shield. That's badass fire right there.

• 36:17Speaker 02

  Oh, well, these are all.

• 36:18Matt Farah?

  Yeah, fire.

• 36:19Speaker 02

Photos of them fighting an actual fire, for people listening.

• 36:21Matt Farah?

For sure. But, uh, and the one, the first one, if you go back to the really big one, it had like a mantai fin up at the top, connecting it to the helmet. Yeah, oh, yeah, you're gonna need accessories, just to keep that thing together.

• 36:34Speaker 02

If any firefighters are listening, first of all, we appreciate you. Second, explain why this, is this a new thing or an old thing?

• 36:39Speaker 01

I haven't seen that in any other department in New York. It's not like that by any means. In Canada, it's not like that.

• 36:44Matt Farah?

Philly is a funny place in that way.

• 36:47Speaker 01

That's like, a Philly firefighter is like, that's as American as it gets right there. A Philly firefighter, that's, to me, that's apple pie.

• 36:55Matt Farah?

  And only from gyms.

• 36:56Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 36:59Speaker 02

  And you're still alive.

• 37:01Matt Farah?

And you throw batteries at the Eagles when they're losing.

• 37:04Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 37:04Speaker 02

Oh, it's definitely a Philly thing. Here's another old, old hell.

• 37:07Speaker 01

Philly, they grease the light poles before big games. That, what? Because, people go and celebrate, win or loss, they climb light poles.

• 37:16Matt Farah?

  They climb the street lamps.

• 37:17Speaker 01

So like, they, they literally walk around greasing these things.

• 37:21Speaker 02

  Just spraying grease.

• 37:22Matt Farah?

Philly's a wild place, dude. Yeah. It's a wild, if like, if they, if the Eagles win.

• 37:26Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 37:27Matt Farah?

They set the fucking building on fire. If the Eagles lose, they set the building on fire and roll the cop cars. Like, it's crazy. It's crazy town.

• 37:35Speaker 01

And grease budget for the poles.

• 37:39Speaker 01

  That's crazy.

• 37:41Matt Farah?

I love Philadelphia. I owe, I really, I owe them a visit. I, I, I went to college there, so I spent a lot of time there. And I fucking, it's, it was the best for college. It's the best town. It's like a little mini manageable New York.

• 37:54Speaker 01

Yes, exactly. Yeah, it does really feel like that.

• 37:56Matt Farah?

But with, with people that are like, even funnier than New York people.

• 38:01Speaker 01

Yeah, it feels more like Detroit there. Cause I, I lived in like Detroit area for some years.

• 38:05Matt Farah?

It's more walkable. How, are we excited for Spaceballs 2?

• 38:09Speaker 01

Spaceballs, I like it. Spaceballs, for me, was like, before, does all the SNL guys, right?

• 38:16Matt Farah?

  Spaceballs?

• 38:16Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 38:17Matt Farah?

Uh, no, uh, no, it's Mel Brooks.

• 38:19Speaker 01

  Mel Brooks.

• 38:20Matt Farah?

Mel Brooks. And Rick Moranis. And John Candy and Bill Pullman.

• 38:25Speaker 01

  John Candy.

• 38:26Speaker 02

  What a classic name.

• 38:27Matt Farah?

  Daphne Zuniga.

• 38:29Speaker 02

That's a crazy name. When is that movie happening?

• 38:32Matt Farah?

I don't know, they're like, making it now.

• 38:33Speaker 01

Spaceballs 2. When was the first one, like, eighty-five?

• 38:37Matt Farah?

They just announced it. The first one was eighty, yeah, something, something, eighty-five, eighty-six, something. But it's not the search, it's Spaceballs, the new one.

• 38:47Speaker 02

I watched it so long ago.

• 38:49Matt Farah?

You really should watch it again. I'd say, it, it doesn't exactly hold up, but it's funny.

• 38:54Speaker 01

  No.

• 38:54Matt Farah?

No, no, they have, yeah. But it is funny.

• 38:57Speaker 02

It's, I mean, it's like, the comedy pacing is different, which is, you know, a thing and then.

• 39:01Speaker 01

But Monty Python still holds up.

• 39:03Speaker 02

It does. It holds up better, I think.

• 39:04Speaker 01

  And it's older.

• 39:05Speaker 02

  Yeah.

• 39:06Matt Farah?

  I think.

• 39:07Speaker 01

Something about the Bri- dry humor.

• 39:09Matt Farah?

  Britishness, maybe.

• 39:11Speaker 01

Lives through time better. Something about dry humor ages better. Whereas like.

• 39:16Matt Farah?

  Maybe it's because it's like

• 39:19Speaker 02

  There's some

• 39:19Matt Farah?

The subject matter is real older.

• 39:22Speaker 02

  Yeah.

• 39:22Matt Farah?

I mean, I don't want to say Spaceballs doesn't like hold up like some of the jokes are still very funny.

• 39:29Speaker 02

I think I rewatched it like four years ago and it some of them are like, uh, and then the pacing of it is just so different from comedy now. That it just feels slow.

• 39:37Matt Farah?

  Yeah.

• 39:38Speaker 01

Who's the guy that was in Airplane?

• 39:39Matt Farah?

  The Leslie Nielsen.

• 39:40Speaker 01

Leslie Nielsen. He was in, I guess before that was a sh- a movie was a show, right? That show I watched and I never watched the show. I just saw a clip of like a shoe shine that they would give that. Did you see this clip? Funniest fucking thing I've ever seen.

• 39:58Speaker 02

But I rewatched Airplane like two months ago.

• 39:59Speaker 01

It was it was the series that I I came after or before, I'm not sure, but the shoe shine, everybody keeps going to him. Leslie Nielsen's shoe shine. He had Johnny, the walking

• 40:09Matt Farah?

  Shoe shine Johnny.

• 40:10Speaker 01

  So good. That first one.

• 40:12Matt Farah?

This is a isn't the show Police Squad?

• 40:14Speaker 01

  It's something like that.

• 40:16Matt Farah?

  This is Police Squad, right?

• 40:17Speaker 02

That was before um Naked Gun.

• 40:19Matt Farah?

  Yeah, yeah.

• 40:20Speaker 01

  Yeah, yeah, before.

• 40:21Speaker 02

  There you go.

• 40:22Matt Farah?

  Yeah.

• 40:25Speaker 01

  He's a recurring guy, but

• 40:27Matt Farah?

This actor who plays the shoe shiner is in a ton of like eighties comedies playing like the weird looking old guy.

• 40:35Speaker 01

  He's the old Steve Buscemi.

• 40:36Matt Farah?

Yeah, effectively. Yeah, yeah. Sorry, everybody, if you were

• 40:40Speaker 01

  Oh, we're back?

• 40:41Matt Farah?

Yeah. Oh, yeah. We've we've been back for a second.

• 40:43Speaker 01

  We've been back.

• 40:43Matt Farah?

  We uh

• 40:44Speaker 01

  But next up

• 40:45Matt Farah?

We had our app Totally Freeze, the program that records our podcast.

• 40:48Speaker 01

Who sponsors you guys? But shout out to them.

• 40:51Matt Farah?

No, we pay fucking retail to use, I mean, come on.

• 40:56Speaker 01

So yeah, and then the other clip I saw, then a doctor comes up to him. He goes, he goes, uh, He goes, I got a patient. He's got a mild melanoma. This, he goes, I don't know. Maybe this or that. He puts some money and he goes, you got to cut in from the vesicle.

• 41:15Matt Farah?

  That's pretty

• 41:16Speaker 02

  That's a good bit.

• 41:17Speaker 01

Did you give him four milligrams of Samadhi? He's like, of course. He's like, you want to operate on?

• 41:22Matt Farah?

That is, that's funny, but that's basically ChatGPT now.

• 41:25Speaker 01

Yeah, no, it fully is. Dude, you're on a plane. Everyone around you is just like, just doing the queries and like reading and and then just typing.

• 41:33Speaker 02

  For the secrets.

• 41:33Matt Farah?

I was sitting next to a teenage, late teenager, college kid, maybe.

• 41:43Matt Farah?

On a flight like last week and he was coming from wherever to where to LA. And he was sailing in some kind of a race and I was he was wearing a sailing team, whatever jacket. Just like. And I sail, so I was kind of interested and I and I just couldn't help myself. I glanced over. And he had the rulebook for the upcoming race on his phone. He had opened on his phone. It was some document. And he just looked at it for like two seconds, quick scroll, closed it, opens chat GPT. Drops this in and just goes summarize this for me. And it did and you know, he starts reading the summary. And then he just starts copying and pasting things back and forth and he's essentially just using chat GPT to summarize every single thing in his life.

• 42:28Matt Farah?

And I'm like, on one hand, I'm incredibly impressed at the speed at which he is doing this on his phone, like really fucking fast. Yeah. Uh, I'm clearly not optimizing what is possible with my phone. Uh, and I don't think my hands can move that fast anyway, but I was also like, oh, man, this is like, there's like a dependency. Oh, yes, yes, yes, yes. And and just assuming what the answer was right, you know, was not not, you know, further search was not ever done. So I was like. I was impressed, but also nervous.

• 42:59Speaker 01

Dude, remember Spark Notes back in the day?

• 43:02Matt Farah?

  Oh, yeah. Yeah.

• 43:04Speaker 02

You had to learn to write around them a little bit so the teacher didn't notice.

• 43:06Speaker 01

Yeah, exactly. Everyone had the same, the themes, what are the themes of, you know, catching the ride? And teenage angst, whatever.

• 43:16Speaker 01

If it, if the website was down, you're like, damn it, I gotta read the book, you know what I mean? But now people like they're outsourcing critical thinking.

• 43:24Matt Farah?

  Yeah.

• 43:25Speaker 01

So it, you know what I mean? On all fronts. So and obviously they're going to AI stuff is going to be prevalent everywhere, everywhere, everywhere. But when it does go down, for whatever reason, there's like, you know, uh, processing center. Outage issues or something. It's gonna be like, it's not just like, I gotta read the book. It's like. People are not gonna realize, like especially the new gen that never, you know, had to raw dog just troubleshooting.

• 43:51Matt Farah?

Yeah. Dude, when there's like a cellphone outage somewhere for everybody, people kind of, you know, bug out a little bit.

• 43:58Speaker 01

Cause people ask like fully, it's like, you know, you used to call a parent or advise an older person be like, yo, you know, I've got a bump and I don't have the insurance.

• 44:07Speaker 02

And they would lie to you.

• 44:09Speaker 01

That's all AI now. So, so people are just gonna be like, uh, people, I think people are literally gonna like fall apart.

• 44:15Speaker 02

Well, there, I saw a news story today that some, uh, law firm got in trouble legally because they were using AI to like, just to write, you know, some of their briefs.

• 44:24Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 44:25Speaker 02

And it was full of like crazy typos, but they didn't proof it. Cause like, like this kid, they just shipped it. And then in court, they got in trouble and they called out by the judge and they had to call it AI hallucinations. They're like, sorry, our AI hallucinated a little bit. It's like, no, no, you didn't proof read. And then, and then they found like in the, the firm's like terms and conditions, it says, trust, do not trust everything. We have to verify, which they didn't.

• 44:48Matt Farah?

The, uh, there was a lawyer that submitted a full AI written thing that cited case law that wasn't real. Like in, like it was a year or two ago, it was sort of in a little more in the beginning of, of.

• 45:02Speaker 02

That like in the famous case of Neptune versus Venus.

• 45:04Matt Farah?

  Yeah.

• 45:05Speaker 02

  Hingwitz versus Mars.

• 45:06Speaker 01

  I remember this.

• 45:07Speaker 02

  It was clear that the.

• 45:09Matt Farah?

Yeah. Just totally non-existent case law. And they're like, uh, and he's like, wow.

• 45:15Speaker 02

Oz versus Dorothy says, sorry about the hallucination.

• 45:18Speaker 01

Breaking enter. You are not doing your job.

• 45:20Matt Farah?

  It was trippy.

• 45:21Speaker 01

You just get in a liaison that'd be like, you hire a lawyer to do something. They just type in the inquiry. It's, and then they just export PDF and email it to you. You're like, what?

• 45:33Matt Farah?

  Like, I'm a lawyer, not a middleman.

• 45:35Speaker 01

  Yeah, exactly. What are you?

• 45:36Matt Farah?

It's crazy. So. Get good lawyers, people.

• 45:38Speaker 01

  Get good lawyers.

• 45:39Matt Farah?

  Don't, don't get, yeah, anyway.

• 45:41Speaker 01

I got the, uh, I got a TIG one right now from Volkswagen and, uh, driving these new cars. Everything, bro, everything, no one has something to rest your right hand on anymore. Have you noticed that?

• 45:54Speaker 02

  Hmm.

• 45:55Speaker 01

There's nothing, there used to be a shifter, they've all consolidated to here or a wheel. So it's, and the screens are all bigger. Driving new cars, they all feel like driving a living room. Because you're leaning, you're leaning now on the middle thing, because you've got nothing for the right arm. You've got a big screen and a road, it just feels like I'm driving my living room.

• 46:14Matt Farah?

I think there's, that's intentional, man. I was just had the new charger and it has a shifter. And it's actually like a quote pistol grip shifter.

• 46:24Speaker 01

That's just, that's just like marketing name?

• 46:27Matt Farah?

It's more like, it's more like a mollusk grip or some kind of, you know, sex toy grip than it is an actual pistol. Uh, but, but it is, you, you could rest your hand on the shifter. I did like that.

• 46:39Speaker 01

Dude, what, I just, my body feels so unbalanced. I'm like, well, we'll put your hands ten and two. It's like all of the, all of the cars have lane departure, follow distance. They, they've optimized and they're, they're so set up for you to have very little input.

• 46:56Matt Farah?

  Yeah.

• 46:56Speaker 01

And then, so your, your arms naturally leave the steering wheel, always, you know, one will be on it. For me, the left, and I go, that's like me comfortable. But now it's like, okay, your arm is here. I just, I just feel uncomfortable.

• 47:09Speaker 02

It's like you only have one place to put it.

• 47:11Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 47:11Speaker 02

And over time, you, you want more.

• 47:12Speaker 01

So you lean, you're leaning and then it's like, this is just my, I feel like I'm sitting on my couch, driving on the highway.

• 47:17Speaker 02

I did that, I drove a Crown Vic for two, three years and it, no bolstering or anything, seats are terrible. And I leaned and it fucked my back up.

• 47:24Speaker 01

  Yeah, yeah, yeah, big time.

• 47:25Matt Farah?

The lean's not great. I actually get sometimes, because I have to do really long drives, I actually get bruises on my elbows. From resting them on either the armrests or whatever.

• 47:35Speaker 01

I used to get bubbles on my left arm. Cause I'd just drive, just sitting here and like sun on, on just sun, always sun, because I was doing a lot of miles, road school, everything. Just. Whoa. This would always be darker in the summer, my lifetime, you're like, I'm a car guy. Or a trucker.

• 47:53Speaker 02

  That's why I got a tint.

• 47:55Matt Farah?

The big, the big widescreen is the new thing.

• 47:58Speaker 01

Have you seen the new Mercedes?

• 47:59Matt Farah?

Yeah, we talked about it last show, the C-Class, that's a lot of screen.

• 48:03Speaker 01

You're like, no, no, they tell you when you have a young kid, they're like, no screens before two, they're fucked in a car.

• 48:08Matt Farah?

  Yeah, dude.

• 48:09Speaker 01

You know what I mean? That I close your, you're gonna have to put a blindfold on your child.

• 48:12Matt Farah?

The new Lincoln's full, full curved screen.

• 48:15Speaker 01

But, but it's like thinner though, and it's, and it's past the dash, it's at the end.

• 48:20Matt Farah?

  Which is interesting.

• 48:22Speaker 01

Yeah, it's an interesting choice, the new like BMW does that too, they have it past it. Whereas the BM, or the Mercedes is, it's here, it is up front, everything.

• 48:33Matt Farah?

  The dash.

• 48:34Speaker 01

  Yeah, yeah, it's like clouds.

• 48:36Matt Farah?

I thought after the last, the EQs and whatever, that they would maybe dial back the screen a little bit, but they doubled down.

• 48:43Speaker 02

Yeah, I was really surprised after, cause no one had good things to say about that.

• 48:46Matt Farah?

That EQS or EQE that I drove was like driving around like a fucking Coachella tent.

• 48:52Speaker 01

But, put it up, put up that interior.

• 48:55Matt Farah?

The screen is, is aggressive, um, and also like the, the like, the disco lights across the whole, it was so much.

• 49:04Speaker 01

Yeah, this is the mood lighting or whatever?

• 49:06Matt Farah?

  Yeah.

• 49:06Speaker 01

  Oh, is this it?

• 49:07Matt Farah?

  That's the EQS.

• 49:08Speaker 01

  That's what you drove?

• 49:09Matt Farah?

Yeah. It's fucking disco as hell, it's a lot.

• 49:13Speaker 01

  That's like, that's, that's what concepts in 2012, that's every future concept.

• 49:19Matt Farah?

Also like the, you know, the blue lighting that halos around the, the dash and the.

• 49:24Speaker 01

It's just so much eye fatigue, right?

• 49:26Matt Farah?

It also, it pulses different colors, like not, not like you can change it to different colors, like it will on its own do this like.

• 49:35Speaker 01

  To match music or something?

• 49:37Matt Farah?

Color tripping shit, yeah, I mean, you can, you can turn this off, but it's.

• 49:41Speaker 02

  And you should.

• 49:44Speaker 02

Although, if you have all, if all these screens are on, it might actually be nicer on your eyes to have light coming from other sources, otherwise you're just looking out at, you know, darkness.

• 49:51Speaker 01

They have to do it for that.

• 49:53Matt Farah?

  It's so much light.

• 49:54Speaker 02

When do you think, you think we're gonna have? Like the windshield screen thing, I think if with Waymo and self-driving, I think they'll have it in like ten to twenty years.

• 50:04Speaker 01

  Oh, yes, man.

• 50:05Speaker 02

Looking at the windshield is just, wow, stuff.

• 50:07Speaker 01

Nothing is ten to twenty years away, honestly, at this pace. Actually, I had no idea, you guys have Waymos like this.

• 50:14Matt Farah?

Yeah. Have you tried one yet?

• 50:16Speaker 01

  No, I haven't.

• 50:16Matt Farah?

  You should.

• 50:17Speaker 02

  You should.

• 50:17Speaker 01

  Why?

• 50:18Matt Farah?

  Cause they're fun.

• 50:19Speaker 02

  It's amazing.

• 50:20Speaker 01

Is there a camera inside for what you're doing?

• 50:22Matt Farah?

  Uh, like-

• 50:23Speaker 01

Are people getting ba- uh, Waymo's just a bang on like-

• 50:26Speaker 02

  I wondered the same thing.

• 50:27Speaker 01

  Think about it.

• 50:27Speaker 02

They said they don't check unless there's like an incident reported.

• 50:31Speaker 01

  Drive real quick.

• 50:32Matt Farah?

Yeah, I, I, people probably are fucking, but there is a cabin camera, yes.

• 50:37Speaker 01

And do they, are they like, being like, you, terms and conditions say no banging in, in cabin?

• 50:43Matt Farah?

I have no, I've never tried to fuck in a Waymo, it's not something that I would find. Here's the funny thing about fucking in cars.

• 50:50Speaker 01

Thank god your wife's long course, huh? Whoever made it to the Waymo.

• 50:52Matt Farah?

Do you thi- I think that people who are fucking in like, limos and cabs and stuff already, are the people who would be fucking in Waymos.

• 51:01Speaker 02

  Good point.

• 51:01Matt Farah?

And they really want that driver also in the car.

• 51:05Speaker 01

  Yes, absolutely.

• 51:06Speaker 02

  They prefer that.

• 51:07Matt Farah?

Uh, yeah, I don't mean to like infer everyone's peculiarities, but like-

• 51:10Speaker 01

What's it called when you like people watching?

• 51:12Speaker 02

Uh, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Boyer watches.

• 51:15Matt Farah?

  I mean, I, I think people-

• 51:16Speaker 01

  Sex and robo-tactics.

• 51:17Matt Farah?

  Probably are fucking in Waymos.

• 51:18Speaker 01

That's so good to know, I gotta show them.

• 51:21Matt Farah?

But also like, I think Way- I, I rarely get in a dirty Waymo. The worst I've ever seen, there was a beer can rolling around on the floor of, of a Waymo I got in once. That's the worst I've ever seen.

• 51:32Speaker 01

So, do they have, are they constantly going to a depot, or is someone-

• 51:36Matt Farah?

It's right here, it's around the corner.

• 51:38Speaker 01

They just kinda quickly clean them up and get them locked up?

• 51:40Matt Farah?

No, no, I think they, they clean them each day. Or they che- at least check them, you know, and clean them ish each day, and when they charge them, they do like, whatever, like a twelve hour shift.

• 51:49Speaker 01

  Oh.

• 51:49Matt Farah?

If you go over there at eight AM, they like fucking ants marching out all together, it's like, interesting.

• 51:55Speaker 01

It's, being in New York, you don't see it, and we only have them in, in, uh, Toronto. So I'm like, coming out here seeing this in San Francisco, I'm like, seeing it like, the way their dispatch- I'm like, oh my god, these, these guys are gonna replace everybody in the whole country.

• 52:11Speaker 02

Well, so Boston's fighting against Waymo really aggressively, cuz like, cab drivers, it's, it's a job, it's a career, like, they're really trying to fight for the people, which they should.

• 52:19Speaker 01

I, in my head, there are always like some weird outlier little thing in San Francisco, you see three of them. I did not know they were on the road the way they are.

• 52:28Matt Farah?

  Here they are everywhere.

• 52:29Speaker 01

Yeah, yeah. I was like, oh.

• 52:31Matt Farah?

  Yeah.

• 52:32Speaker 01

This is the takeover right here.

• 52:33Matt Farah?

It won't be ubiquitous soon. It won't be ubiquitous until someone figures out the insurance.

• 52:40Speaker 01

Oh, yeah, that's probably why it's in a lot of these states, it's just like a liability nightmare.

• 52:44Matt Farah?

Well, the state has to allow it, right? You have to explicitly allow autonomous vehicles.

• 52:50Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 52:50Matt Farah?

And then it's, well, who's gonna insure them? Waymo's self-insured, they're owned by Google. So they don't need, they can insure themselves. They can start an insurance company, they can afford it, right? But if it's your car.

• 53:02Speaker 01

  Yes, exactly.

• 53:03Matt Farah?

If you buy a whatever, and you use this mode. Yeah, well, either to send it out or to use the mode while you're in the car, and it has a crash or hurts somebody, who is responsible?

• 53:14Speaker 01

  Got it.

• 53:14Matt Farah?

No OEM will take responsibility of it.

• 53:18Speaker 01

But I heard Tesla's on full self-drive in Europe right now.

• 53:21Matt Farah?

They finally allowed in Europe what they've had here.

• 53:25Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 53:25Matt Farah?

  For the last whatever.

• 53:27Speaker 01

  Oh, they said full self-drive?

• 53:29Matt Farah?

  No, it's something.

• 53:29Speaker 01

It's still the one here where it's like, put your hand back on steering wheel?

• 53:32Matt Farah?

  It's the same.

• 53:33Speaker 01

  Gotcha.

• 53:33Matt Farah?

They, you were not allowed to use that at all in Europe up until now.

• 53:36Speaker 01

So they just unlocked the this level?

• 53:38Matt Farah?

They just allowed them to use it now. Yeah, yeah, they don't, Europe, it doesn't have something.

• 53:41Speaker 01

Look at Europe, you're not ahead on this one, huh? I thought they'd be more ahead on this.

• 53:45Matt Farah?

  They're ahead on safety.

• 53:47Speaker 01

  Yeah?

• 53:48Matt Farah?

They are not ahead on this. This is not safer.

• 53:50Speaker 01

  Fuck 'em.

• 53:51Matt Farah?

I'm just saying, it's not, so.

• 53:54Speaker 01

Have you ridden any of these BYDs yet yourself?

• 53:56Matt Farah?

  No, have you?

• 53:57Speaker 01

  No, I have not.

• 53:58Speaker 02

Oh, they sell them in Canada, though, right?

• 54:00Speaker 01

They're about to, they're about to let them in, bro, they're gonna take over. I do a joke, I'm like, the EV market is like 1950s NBA, and BYD's like black guys. BYD stands for big yellow dick.

• 54:11Matt Farah?

  That's a good point.

• 54:12Speaker 02

  That's a really good joke.

• 54:15Speaker 01

They're taking, that, they're an invasion. Of species, you know what I mean? Cause they're fricking doing their EV on a way faster pace of development.

• 54:23Matt Farah?

Yeah, they skipped over gas cars for the most part.

• 54:26Speaker 01

They really did. So it's like, what are they gonna do? They're gonna, eventually they're gonna make their way in. So what are they gonna be like? You have to manufacture them in America? Or how do they? Cause they're gonna make their way in sooner or later. But how do you get?

• 54:39Matt Farah?

They could tariff the shit out of them and make them, uh, you know, too expensive to be worth buying.

• 54:45Speaker 01

That's what it is right now, a hundred percent or whatever.

• 54:47Speaker 02

They probably just keep doing that.

• 54:48Speaker 01

But apparently that Seagull, that BYD Seagull is like 11, that's like the cheap BYD cars. It's like 11 grand. So even at a hundred percent tariff, it's like.

• 54:59Matt Farah?

It would still be one of the cheapest cars. Yeah, it would still be really cheap. I mean, I, I, we do have like a.

• 55:04Speaker 01

  Eight grand, they say.

• 55:05Matt Farah?

The, we have in this country, like a, a lack of affordable new cars.

• 55:10Speaker 01

  Yes.

• 55:11Matt Farah?

And people who only have 10 to 20,000 dollars to spend on a car are forced to buy something with higher mileage and more wear that's gonna have more mechanical problems as opposed to a, a small but, and, and basic but new car.

• 55:25Speaker 01

  Yes.

• 55:25Matt Farah?

That will run for 10 years without giving anyone any bullshit, you know?

• 55:28Speaker 01

Exactly. It looks like a Honda Fit, doesn't it?

• 55:30Speaker 02

Yeah, it looks kinda like a, like a Bolt.

• 55:32Speaker 01

Yeah. Yeah, I'm not, yeah, yeah, I'm not out here being like, yeah, bring it in ASAP, but like. They have like five minute charging, like they're, they're on like batteries, battery chemistries that are like just charge.

• 55:44Matt Farah?

Well, they have high, they have very high voltage chargers.

• 55:47Speaker 01

Yeah, it'll be like 500 kilowatt hour plus.

• 55:51Matt Farah?

  Yeah.

• 55:51Speaker 01

Yeah, and there, you know, there's fires, et cetera, but. But it's clear, yeah, yeah.

• 55:57Matt Farah?

Yeah, but shit happens, right? Price of progress, right? You know, there's a few things. There's the cheap labor, there's the, the integration that they have.

• 56:05Speaker 01

They own like the battery, the dev, everything, everything.

• 56:07Matt Farah?

You know, the, the, the government sort of organizing all of it, you know, to where they have control, which we would not probably want here, but it does like create a system that cranks out cars cheaper and more efficiently. So, I mean.

• 56:23Speaker 01

  And it's $6 a gallon out here.

• 56:25Matt Farah?

  Yeah.

• 56:26Speaker 01

  So it's $6 a gallon out here.

• 56:28Matt Farah?

  Yeah.

• 56:28Speaker 01

And, but here, there's half the cars on the road.

• 56:33Speaker 01

Seem to be electric, thirty-three percent. A lot. Tesla's like crazy, Taycans, every third car's a Taycan.

• 56:38Matt Farah?

In LA, the percentage of EVs is very high.

• 56:40Speaker 01

  It's huge, yeah.

• 56:41Matt Farah?

And I, dude, as someone who lives in this town, like, I will never drive a gas car again for...

• 56:47Speaker 01

  Are you pure electric?

• 56:48Matt Farah?

No, no, no. I'm, I'm, for, for fun, for, for weekends, for, for that kind of stuff.

• 56:54Speaker 01

  For enjoyment.

• 56:54Matt Farah?

  Absolutely, but for my everyday...

• 56:55Speaker 01

  To feel alive.

• 56:56Matt Farah?

Dude, I was just thinking about this, because I, I, I just spent a week in a gas car, a brand-new one. And I got back, and I just got into this new Genesis GV60 right now.

• 57:07Speaker 01

  Magma.

• 57:08Matt Farah?

I'm driving downstairs, and I'm just going, dude, after a week of driving a gas car, getting into an electric car is such a fucking revelation. Dude. Just how nice it is.

• 57:18Speaker 01

Listen, they're gonna win, it's gonna win.

• 57:21Matt Farah?

  Yeah, of course.

• 57:22Speaker 01

We all know it's gonna win, right? We all know it's gonna win.

• 57:24Matt Farah?

That's exactly what I'm driving. Dude, this thing, I, I may write about this for Road and Track this month. I was hoping the new Charger would be the budget Bentley GT. It's a big GT, you know, I thought it would be. It's got a lot of power. I, it, it was not. I got back, I get in this, this is the budget Bentley GT. This has the closest interior to a Bentley GT that you could do for under a hundred K.

• 57:47Speaker 01

  They're not playing, dude.

• 57:48Matt Farah?

That shit, the quilting, the seat, somebody sat in a Bentley GT and said, "You copy this seat." I'm telling you, the shape, structure of the seat, they got as close as they could get. With the, they got the quilting, all that silver is real metal. It gets cold, it's like nice and cold in the morning, the, um, they, somebody benchmarked the Bentley GT for this car. There's a lot of similarities. Plus, you have a really low dashboard, which I love, you've got great, great...

• 58:17Speaker 01

  Nice visibility.

• 58:18Matt Farah?

And it's got a small footprint, great turning radius, it's...

• 58:21Speaker 01

It's like the size of a Q3, right?

• 58:23Matt Farah?

Yeah, yeah, but a ton of front space. I am like, super stoked on this car. This is the daily Bentley for most people.

• 58:31Speaker 01

That thing started fifty grand. No, Genesis not playing around, you know?

• 58:34Matt Farah?

I have this exact one, and it's seventy-three thousand, because it's the performance, you know, one.

• 58:39Speaker 01

  You have the magma one.

• 58:41Matt Farah?

  I don't, it's not magma yet.

• 58:43Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 58:43Matt Farah?

This is just called performance all wheel drive. I think magma is gonna be next year.

• 58:48Speaker 01

  Got it.

• 58:48Matt Farah?

Yeah, what's with that orb thing?

• 58:50Speaker 01

  What is that?

• 58:51Matt Farah?

Uh, that, uh, when you power it on, it flips, spins over and it's the shifter.

• 58:56Speaker 01

  Oh, God.

• 58:57Matt Farah?

  It's kinda cool.

• 58:57Speaker 02

Oh, so it's like glass with lights inside of it?

• 59:00Matt Farah?

Very, very easy. But there's, there's hard, those buttons are all metal. There's a, there's a scrollie knob for your stations and stuff. Scrollie knobs for nerds.

• 59:10Speaker 02

  This is well done.

• 59:11Matt Farah?

They, the, the, the controls are on the steering wheel are super similar to Bentley's controls. Somebody, somebody went, let's knock off a Bentley here. And they did it in a way that I can totally fucking relate to.

• 59:24Speaker 01

Korean Bentley right there. I'm getting the, uh, G90. Black prestige.

• 59:30Matt Farah?

  Dude, that's gonna be dope.

• 59:31Speaker 01

From Genesis. Dude, it's a bummer because I, I'm like in British Columbia for three, four days for shows, alone.

• 59:37Matt Farah?

  Yeah.

• 59:37Speaker 01

I'm like, this is a car you wanna be in the backseat of. This is like long wheelbase.

• 59:42Matt Farah?

  Yeah.

• 59:42Speaker 01

That backseat is on some S-Class shit.

• 59:45Matt Farah?

So, my Uncle Phil has one of these. The wife of the guy who gave me the Mercedes.

• 59:50Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 59:50Matt Farah?

His, he, he's got one of these, a G90. It's fire.

• 59:54Speaker 01

Badass, has a button to open and close the door.

• 59:56Matt Farah?

  Yeah.

• 59:57Speaker 02

Yeah, you wanna be driven in this for sure.

• 59:59Speaker 01

Yeah, exactly. That's why I feel like, kinda like, what the?

• 1:00:01Matt Farah?

This is the budget flying spur, for sure.

• 1:00:03Speaker 01

  Yes, yes, yes, yes.

• 1:00:04Matt Farah?

It's, I think it's got air suspension, uh, or at the very least, very nice adaptive shocks. Uh, the interior was excellent.

• 1:00:12Speaker 02

And better looking than the new 7 Series.

• 1:00:14Speaker 01

Yeah, yeah. Oh dude, oh my god.

• 1:00:16Speaker 02

  Refresh, it's bad.

• 1:00:17Speaker 01

Oh my god, dude, 7 Series and S-Class used to be like this? Bro, as far as luxury flagship sedan go, the S-Class is just so fire. Every time I see a 7 Series, I'm like, what the fuck happened?

• 1:00:29Matt Farah?

  Yeah, I don't know, man.

• 1:00:30Speaker 01

What is it? It's like a giant rectangular prism.

• 1:00:32Matt Farah?

It's not great and, and I, and I haven't liked the 7 Series in, I gotta say, 20 years.

• 1:00:38Speaker 01

Yeah, yeah, see, that's what I'm saying, like, it's just, it gets more of a rectangular prism every time.

• 1:00:43Matt Farah?

It just doesn't, it just doesn't do it for me. I don't really know what we're doing here, but I hope they're happy.

• 1:00:51Speaker 02

It looks like a concept like Judge Dredd 3. Like it, it just, it's very angular and brash.

• 1:00:56Speaker 01

  A 90's 740.

• 1:00:58Speaker 02

  Yeah.

• 1:00:58Speaker 01

Look at that compared to this.

• 1:01:00Matt Farah?

I bet if somebody made a sporty shorty. If you, if you, someone would pay 200 grand if, if a singer-like outfit made a sporty shorty. With, you know, yeah.

• 1:01:14Speaker 02

This is such a good looking car.

• 1:01:15Matt Farah?

Like, there's not a lot of cars you could singerize, but this would be a good choice. Best looking sedan of all time.

• 1:01:22Speaker 01

This, right, how beautiful is that, huh?

• 1:01:24Matt Farah?

  The best.

• 1:01:25Speaker 01

How beautiful is that? Every time I see that, you see these in New York a lot. And, uh, you know, they're a little rusted, but you're like, damn, that was a beautiful car. They nailed it right there.

• 1:01:35Matt Farah?

When I was growing up in New York and these came out, ev- all the rich people got them. They, oh, these were so popular.

• 1:01:43Speaker 01

And they still like, you have all the newest, everything evolved past them and they're parking all around them. This is the best, design-wise. It's just kinda like peak there. And I don't, I don't exactly even know why. Like, I look at it, there's nothing specifically remarkable about any part of it. But just it as a whole. When it was, it was boxy in a perfect way.

• 1:02:04Matt Farah?

  Yeah, it's just the proportions.

• 1:02:06Speaker 01

It just kept getting higher, remained the boxy, but grabbed it, pulled it higher up.

• 1:02:10Speaker 02

  Oh, like so true.

• 1:02:11Speaker 01

  A foot higher.

• 1:02:12Speaker 02

They photoshopped and it didn't, they didn't click the button.

• 1:02:14Speaker 01

Yeah, yeah. It's just vertical. Dragged the one side.

• 1:02:18Matt Farah?

Yeah, this and the Audi S8 from that period were.

• 1:02:22Speaker 01

  Oh, the Audi, bro.

• 1:02:23Matt Farah?

The 2002 Audi, the one that Scotto has, that, you know, God help you if you own one of these and have to keep it running.

• 1:02:31Speaker 01

  Nightmare, uh, maintenance.

• 1:02:32Matt Farah?

Keeping them running, oh, they're tough.

• 1:02:34Speaker 01

  Yeah, beautiful.

• 1:02:35Matt Farah?

  God damn, they look nice.

• 1:02:36Speaker 01

Yeah, like that old flagship sedan looked beautiful.

• 1:02:41Matt Farah?

  I think.

• 1:02:41Speaker 02

The 8 Series to me is the favorite.

• 1:02:43Matt Farah?

Think about it, the year, the year 2001.

• 1:02:49Matt Farah?

Think about the year 2001 for like flagship, you know, flagship sedans. You have the Bentley Arnage, you have this, you have the seven series, the one we just looked at.

• 1:03:03Speaker 01

Those little Mercedes compressors that were driving around everywhere.

• 1:03:05Matt Farah?

  It was a good year.

• 1:03:08Speaker 02

  It's okay compressor, right?

• 1:03:10Speaker 01

  The E39 M5.

• 1:03:12Matt Farah?

The key with this car is you have to do the S. So that was the steering wheel I had in my S4 that made me want to vomit. You needed to get the.

• 1:03:19Speaker 01

It looks like a Dodge Intrepid.

• 1:03:21Matt Farah?

Oh, it's terrible. You had to get the three spoke optional steering wheel. The four spoke, I called it the Beluga whale steering wheel. It's ugly. But that burlwood fucks. That is like a PRS guitar.

• 1:03:34Speaker 02

I just remember the plus minus shifting. When I saw that as a valet, I was like, whoa.

• 1:03:38Speaker 01

Yo, dude. Exactly. It's like a sequential box.

• 1:03:42Matt Farah?

Plus was forward and minus was down. Oh.

• 1:03:45Speaker 01

Back then when you pressed it, it'd be a half a second before it shifted, right?

• 1:03:50Matt Farah?

But you know what I loved about this car? Look at the gauges, the double thick white needle.

• 1:03:54Speaker 01

Oh dude, I know exactly what you mean.

• 1:03:56Matt Farah?

Regular A8 and S A4 and A, the As had a thin orange needle.

• 1:04:01Speaker 01

This is the autism, by the way. This is the autism.

• 1:04:04Matt Farah?

The S's got this fat, white, bright white, fat needle. I thought that was the coolest fucking shit.

• 1:04:11Speaker 01

Dude, I was looking at X5s and like 2020 or 2019 is the final year they had, they stopped having analog dials.

• 1:04:18Matt Farah?

  Yeah.

• 1:04:19Speaker 01

And they just switched to just that digital. And everything is that now. But I'm like, man, it's such a bummer. Something about digital, something about just the analog.

• 1:04:28Matt Farah?

Yeah. A needle on a gauge.

• 1:04:30Speaker 01

Something about it. I don't know what it is.

• 1:04:32Matt Farah?

But you know how you get analog? You need to spend more money. If you were not looking at an X5 and instead we're looking at a Bugatti.

• 1:04:40Speaker 01

  Yeah, of course, of course.

• 1:04:42Matt Farah?

You'd be able to look at the gears that turn.

• 1:04:45Speaker 01

The clock is like an AP. Yeah, everything is visible.

• 1:04:49Matt Farah?

It's called the Torbion. It's named, look, it's named after.

• 1:04:52Speaker 01

The one with the crazy steering wheel that like floats.

• 1:04:54Matt Farah?

Dude, look, the speedometers and shit have gears that you can like.

• 1:04:58Speaker 01

What I'm talking about, see, that's, I'm gonna start saving.

• 1:05:00Matt Farah?

If you got a Bugatti, you could have some like real gears and shit.

• 1:05:04Speaker 01

  What's my problem?

• 1:05:04Matt Farah?

  Yeah, you're not.

• 1:05:05Speaker 01

  I've been focused.

• 1:05:06Speaker 02

Yeah, you're focusing on the wrong cars, boss.

• 1:05:08Speaker 01

I need to fricking get a tech podcast.

• 1:05:09Speaker 02

You gotta go, you're at the wrong dealership, so go down the street to the Bugatti one.

• 1:05:13Speaker 01

Damn, did the speedometer go to 550?

• 1:05:15Matt Farah?

  Yeah, kilometers, kilometers.

• 1:05:17Speaker 01

Still, I mean, I think, I think of kilometers as a Canadian, you know, and most of the world, I'm putting that out there.

• 1:05:23Speaker 02

So what do most cars, uh, speedos stop at, you know, in Canada?

• 1:05:27Speaker 01

  In Canada?

• 1:05:28Speaker 02

  Yeah.

• 1:05:28Speaker 01

Like, is it a three or a four?

• 1:05:30Matt Farah?

  Yeah.

• 1:05:30Speaker 01

  Two twenty.

• 1:05:31Matt Farah?

  Yeah.

• 1:05:31Speaker 02

  Two twenty?

• 1:05:31Speaker 01

  Two twenty.

• 1:05:32Speaker 02

  Okay, so it's a two.

• 1:05:33Speaker 01

  That's most regular cars.

• 1:05:33Speaker 02

Yeah, it's pretty wild, it goes to five.

• 1:05:35Speaker 01

I remember when I was a kid, I fricking looked, there was a badass Corvette parked outside a McDonald's, and I looked to the side, and it, the speedometer went up to 300, and I was like, ah, just, like, what?

• 1:05:47Matt Farah?

  Yeah.

• 1:05:47Speaker 01

  300, like, what?

• 1:05:48Matt Farah?

It was a big deal when the, when Bugatti came out with the Veyron.

• 1:05:52Speaker 01

Cause it was like 320 in real life, or?

• 1:05:54Matt Farah?

It, the, the, the speedometer was for 300 miles an hour, yeah. And it, the, the car didn't really have screens.

• 1:06:02Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 1:06:02Matt Farah?

But when you turned it off and walked, even if you looked in the window from, they, they wanted to make sure.

• 1:06:09Speaker 01

  That always showed.

• 1:06:10Matt Farah?

That if you looked in from the window, you, you could clearly see a speedometer that goes to 300.

• 1:06:14Speaker 01

  Like that.

• 1:06:15Matt Farah?

Which is a pretty baller move.

• 1:06:16Speaker 01

That's crazy baller, dude. That's what I always do when I was a kid, just like look to see what the final number is.

• 1:06:22Matt Farah?

  Yeah.

• 1:06:22Speaker 01

  I'm like, oh!

• 1:06:23Speaker 02

  In kilometers, it's 420.

• 1:06:24Speaker 01

  Is it?

• 1:06:25Matt Farah?

  Yo!

• 1:06:25Speaker 01

  Weed, yo!

• 1:06:27Matt Farah?

  Happy anniversary, bro, happy anniversary!

• 1:06:30Speaker 02

Yo, man, someone in the Bugatti smokes weed.

• 1:06:32Matt Farah?

  It's really funny.

• 1:06:33Speaker 01

  Snoop Dogg!

• 1:06:33Matt Farah?

When, when you smoke weed as an adult, and 99% of that weed smoking is like by yourself, the idea of weed culture is so dumb.

• 1:06:43Speaker 01

I know, I know. That, that's where I'm at, where I was like, why did, why a free joint?

• 1:06:47Matt Farah?

Yeah, right. Well, I like a deal.

• 1:06:49Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 1:06:49Matt Farah?

Now, now when I go to the weed store, it used to be like, what's the strongest shit you got? Now?

• 1:06:54Speaker 02

  And you can't ask that.

• 1:06:55Matt Farah?

  Now it's what's on sale.

• 1:06:56Speaker 01

Yeah, no, I, bro, I am always in there like, honestly, they'll be like, we have a 30, I don't, I don't even want that. Honestly, I'm like, give me a 25%.

• 1:07:04Matt Farah?

  Yeah, yeah.

• 1:07:05Speaker 01

Infused? No! They always go like this. Not infused, you psycho!

• 1:07:09Speaker 02

  What is infused?

• 1:07:10Speaker 01

  No!

• 1:07:10Matt Farah?

It's where they soak the weed in hash oil.

• 1:07:13Speaker 01

  Oh, you don't smoke them?

• 1:07:13Speaker 02

  Not really.

• 1:07:14Speaker 01

  You know, keef?

• 1:07:15Speaker 02

  Yeah.

• 1:07:16Speaker 01

Yeah, they'll, they'll like, they'll like wet it and roll it in keef. Oh, boy. Inside this. I don't even know what they're doing. They just increase impotency ten, twenty, thirty percent.

• 1:07:24Speaker 02

It's a beer with vodka in it.

• 1:07:26Speaker 01

Exactly, exactly, exactly. You just kinda like, you, you stop getting verbal. You go fully non-verbal, eye contact, that makes you at this.

• 1:07:33Speaker 02

  I don't talk to anybody.

• 1:07:34Speaker 01

  But it's like, I don't.

• 1:07:35Speaker 02

  You play piano so well.

• 1:07:37Speaker 01

I'm trying to just activate music a little bit and just kinda have this. That's why I'm smoking a little bit, right? Sure. That's what I'm going for.

• 1:07:42Matt Farah?

I'm just trying not to wanna murder everybody I see.

• 1:07:45Speaker 01

  Exactly.

• 1:07:46Matt Farah?

  Baseline.

• 1:07:47Speaker 01

  To me, I'm just like.

• 1:07:48Matt Farah?

Yeah, no, the, I don't do, I, I was, when I go to the store, I, I'm like, give me what would have been amazing in two thousand and four. You know what I mean? Before y'all learned most of this science you're doing.

• 1:08:00Speaker 01

  Yeah, exactly.

• 1:08:01Matt Farah?

  You know what I mean?

• 1:08:02Speaker 01

  They're like, OG Kush.

• 1:08:03Matt Farah?

  Yes.

• 1:08:03Speaker 01

  You're like, I'll take it.

• 1:08:04Matt Farah?

Yeah. And I like, I get the smalls. That's the secret.

• 1:08:07Speaker 01

  The half gram, you mean?

• 1:08:08Matt Farah?

No, no, no, like, instead of, like, if you wanna buy an ounce, cause I buy, I buy ounce.

• 1:08:12Speaker 01

  Oh, you're like, flour?

• 1:08:13Matt Farah?

Yeah, yeah, I buy ounce. And that's like my month, or whatever.

• 1:08:16Speaker 01

What money back here, smoking time?

• 1:08:20Matt Farah?

  This shit is so cheap.

• 1:08:21Speaker 01

I know, it's like a hundred bucks, eighty bucks.

• 1:08:23Matt Farah?

I would retail in two thousand and four, an ounce for four hundred dollars.

• 1:08:27Speaker 01

  That's crazy.

• 1:08:28Matt Farah?

Now, I'm going to the fucking Snoop Dogg store and swiping my credit card for an ounce for maybe a hundred and twenty-five bucks.

• 1:08:34Speaker 01

  That's what I'm saying.

• 1:08:35Matt Farah?

Maybe. Twenty-five years of inflation later, this is so cheap, it's crazy.

• 1:08:40Speaker 02

  Go the other way.

• 1:08:41Speaker 01

Weed is the only thing, the only example.

• 1:08:43Matt Farah?

And half that's probably going to somebody's taxes.

• 1:08:46Speaker 01

And it used to be, Canada's weed was always half the price. It used to always be like, in Canada, it was ten bucks a gram, and in America, it's twenty bucks a gram.

• 1:08:52Matt Farah?

  And now is it flipped?

• 1:08:53Speaker 01

Now, now it's pretty much, it's all kinda converged on, it's a ten dollar pre-roll. And like, everywhere you go, it's a ten dollar pre-roll, or you can get a three pack of half grams for fifteen bucks. Like, it's like, all kind of the same.

• 1:09:05Matt Farah?

  Same shit.

• 1:09:06Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 1:09:06Matt Farah?

But the move is the smalls. It's the, it's, I buy an ounce of the little, small popcorn nuggets, not the big show-offy nuggets. They sell them for cheaper. It's the same weed, it just doesn't display as well.

• 1:09:18Speaker 01

  And shredded is the cheapest.

• 1:09:19Matt Farah?

And I'm throwing that shit in a grinder. I don't want full shredded.

• 1:09:22Speaker 01

  Yeah, but that's the cheapest.

• 1:09:23Matt Farah?

I'll grind it myself, but like, it's the same shit and it's fucking...

• 1:09:26Speaker 01

You're gonna shred it out for 75 bucks, 70 bucks.

• 1:09:28Matt Farah?

  Oh, for sure.

• 1:09:29Speaker 01

But it's like, exposed, like it's shredded. You gotta smoke it in 18 hours.

• 1:09:33Matt Farah?

It is exposed to air. Yeah, it's like having a weed party.

• 1:09:37Speaker 01

Yeah, exactly. That's what's good about the nugs, they stay moist for longer, right?

• 1:09:40Matt Farah?

  You get the...

• 1:09:41Speaker 01

  Cause they're just kinda...

• 1:09:41Matt Farah?

  Tupperware going.

• 1:09:44Matt Farah?

  Tupperware. Our new collab.

• 1:09:47Speaker 01

Yeah. I bet you got all glass Tupperware, don't you?

• 1:09:51Matt Farah?

No, we had a weed sponsor though, for a while, and it became problematic.

• 1:09:55Speaker 01

  That Jackie Charles, okay?

• 1:09:56Matt Farah?

Dude, it, no, he's the homie.

• 1:09:58Speaker 01

Remember last time, that's how you smoked with that stuff?

• 1:10:00Matt Farah?

  I did, he's the homie.

• 1:10:00Speaker 01

Do you have any of that stuff?

• 1:10:01Matt Farah?

Uh, yeah, he's the homie. Uh, but, uh, no, we were sponsored by Traincraft Farms, shout out to them. And I got a QP a month, which is a problematic amount of weed to have. Um, speaking of things that are problematic...

• 1:10:14Speaker 01

That's pretty much medicine, sending you like, Xanax.

• 1:10:15Matt Farah?

There's all the Tylenol. It was a lot of Tylenol.

• 1:10:17Speaker 01

  What?

• 1:10:18Matt Farah?

So much Tylenol. Um, speaking of problematic, uh, our patrons over at patreon.com/thesmokeandtire are never problematic. In fact, they're very supportive. Captain Life Show.

• 1:11:44Matt Farah?

Zach, will you flip it back to the other page and make the words?

• 1:11:47Speaker 01

  Are you German?

• 1:11:48Matt Farah?

  No.

• 1:11:49Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 1:11:49Matt Farah?

Uh, I'm a Jew. It's kind of the opposite. Can you notice?

• 1:11:54Speaker 02

  Natural enemy of the German.

• 1:11:57Speaker 01

Still to this day, it's like we have a...

• 1:11:59Matt Farah?

  No, no, no.

• 1:12:00Speaker 02

They're nice now. We, we, we, uh, imported all their batteries.

• 1:12:04Matt Farah?

Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. We know what it is. We find some, they work fast now.

• 1:12:08Speaker 01

You keep doing that, yeah, exactly. Even when I came in, they're like, "Upstairs now."

• 1:12:12Matt Farah?

I've tried a lot of German cars. Uh, can you notice these nuts? What is the funniest?

• 1:12:17Speaker 01

  Canyon Nero?

• 1:12:18Matt Farah?

  What is the funniest car?

• 1:12:19Speaker 01

  What's the funniest car?

• 1:12:21Matt Farah?

  The funniest car.

• 1:12:21Speaker 01

You know what? Every time I see a Pontiac Aztec, it kind of makes me laugh a little bit. It makes me kind of smile a little bit.

• 1:12:29Speaker 01

  Funniest car?

• 1:12:33Speaker 01

I mean, an Aztec is pretty funny to me. I mean, is there a perfect answer for this? You guys are all... What's, how would you answer that question? What's the funniest?

• 1:12:40Speaker 02

When I see like the SSR, you know, the Chevy pickup truck, I just go, "Oh, that was taken out of an animated movie." I think it's even worse than the PT Cruiser. It just looks like so round. Like it should show up with clowns in it, you know, from the dealership and like a birthday cake.

• 1:12:55Speaker 01

And the cabin looks tiny on it too. So it's like, it's a tiny two-seater.

• 1:12:59Speaker 02

  With huge fenders, it's weird.

• 1:13:01Speaker 01

  Tiny truck bed? Right?

• 1:13:04Matt Farah?

I do like how many people I've seen in... A K truck is a pretty funny little vehicle.

• 1:13:09Speaker 01

  A K truck.

• 1:13:10Matt Farah?

Like a tiny little Japanese pickup truck, like that people are buying now for like 7,000 bucks.

• 1:13:16Speaker 01

Oh dude, these, oh my god, bro. I love these things.

• 1:13:19Matt Farah?

They're awesome, but they are pretty funny.

• 1:13:21Speaker 02

They are funny. They feel like they're...

• 1:13:23Speaker 01

To me, that's less funny, more just like pure utility. Tiny, you could carry stuff with it, fit in a tiny parking spot. That just makes total sense to me.

• 1:13:32Matt Farah?

About half the ones I see driven are being used for utility. The other half are being used for pure style.

• 1:13:38Speaker 01

  Yeah, yeah, yeah.

• 1:13:39Matt Farah?

  That's why it's funny.

• 1:13:41Speaker 01

  I love them, dude.

• 1:13:42Matt Farah?

Is that one doing autocross? Yeah, what is that guy doing? Oh no, he's just burning oil because I think the Sambar was like a two-stroke or something.

• 1:13:49Speaker 02

  Oh, that's what all that's... They're adorable.

• 1:13:50Matt Farah?

  Yeah.

• 1:13:51Speaker 01

  I love it.

• 1:13:53Matt Farah?

Let's see. Uh, Uli Konkels Autobahn. Uh, what group of car enthusiasts have the worst sense of humor?

• 1:14:01Matt Farah?

Gotta be Porsche people, right? I don't think Porsche people have the worst.

• 1:14:04Speaker 02

Do you get any, any pushback on your, cause you cover every OEM, every like facet of cars.

• 1:14:10Speaker 01

Well, funny is now I get press cars. So I got a Nissan Armada recently and when you say Nissan, they come, they come. And it's like you're getting these press cars. You're trying to, you know, come in objectively and check it out and stuff. But, you know, obviously, Stellantis didn't do a lot of good for the PR of Nissan. So people right away attack Nissan.

• 1:14:33Matt Farah?

Wait, Stellantis? What do you mean?

• 1:14:35Speaker 01

Oh, sorry, not Stellantis. Um, who's the owner group of?

• 1:14:38Matt Farah?

  Just Nissan.

• 1:14:39Speaker 01

  No, Renault? Who owns Nissan?

• 1:14:42Matt Farah?

I mean, Nissan and Renault have a partnership, but they don't have a parent company. Stellantis is Dodge and Chrysler and shit.

• 1:14:52Speaker 01

I thought it was a parent company. I thought it was a parent company.

• 1:14:54Matt Farah?

  No, don't be so.

• 1:14:56Speaker 01

Either way, the Carlos Ghosn era and after the fact, you know, my first car was a Nissan Sentra. So there's a billion problems. But Nissan is what people come at nowadays. Let's just say that.

• 1:15:08Speaker 02

That's because of the Ultima meme.

• 1:15:10Speaker 01

The CVT kinda fucks shit up for them.

• 1:15:12Matt Farah?

The worst sense of humor. I mean, I think.

• 1:15:15Speaker 01

The 911 people are kinda like not that. 911 has kinda become, it used to be like, that's the car to get to work hard, get that. Now it's kinda like, they're all 200 grand for like a base 911 and it's all like collectors want the air cooled ones. And it's just kinda like tech, bro, money people. It's not really about like, I love cars. I want that air cooled one. It's, oh, that car will appreciate 10% a year. It's like a portfolio piece now.

• 1:15:43Matt Farah?

Ferrari people really take themselves very seriously.

• 1:15:46Speaker 01

Dude, yo, a friend of mine got a Ferrari, a Roma, not even like, he's got, he's got like crypto, made crypto money. And just that, he showed me the Ferrari and then I'm looking at the rims. I'm like, oh man, these are like sick. And I don't know it. He says, he goes, the thing is about Lamborghinis is Lamborghinis is new money. And Ferrari is old money. And then I go, bro, you just got money. He goes, I know, I know. It's already ruining him. It's already, it goes into your brain like a frickin'.

• 1:16:20Speaker 02

Did he grow an Hascot as he said that?

• 1:16:22Matt Farah?

The Roma's new money, bro. If you have money, you had a Ferrari before you had to buy a Roma to get into a Ferrari.

• 1:16:27Speaker 01

But it's like, we're looking at the rim. It just, you see, it just shot out a Lambo for no reason.

• 1:16:32Speaker 02

  Amazing.

• 1:16:33Speaker 01

I was like, bro, you fucking becoming a piece of shit. He's becoming a piece of shit live in front of my eyes.

• 1:16:41Matt Farah?

Duffle Shuffle Retirement Club, favorite road trip snack that's not a black coffee and Marlboro Red 100s? I mean, there isn't a better one.

• 1:16:49Speaker 01

  Jerky, for sure.

• 1:16:51Speaker 02

That sweet, that sweet heat one.

• 1:16:54Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 1:16:55Matt Farah?

I like a roasted, a dry roasted nut.

• 1:16:57Speaker 01

  Did you say these nuts?

• 1:16:58Matt Farah?

Not specifically that brand, but, uh, dry roasted, uh, dry roasted peanut is my road trip snack.

• 1:17:04Speaker 01

Then you need too much, uh, water, like too much liquid. There's just too, too much sodium going on there.

• 1:17:09Matt Farah?

  True.

• 1:17:09Speaker 01

You're just like, you just gotta get.

• 1:17:11Speaker 02

I play that game for hours. I'll do the Popcorners Big Bag and like a Gatorade. I just, it's getting ponged back and forth.

• 1:17:17Speaker 01

  You're getting electrolyzed here.

• 1:17:18Speaker 02

Yeah, sodium and electrolytes and then I've gotta pee, but all right, whatever.

• 1:17:21Matt Farah?

I find, uh, I find standing up for a little bit every hour and a half is good for me anyway.

• 1:17:26Speaker 01

Like in your seat, like one of these or getting out?

• 1:17:28Matt Farah?

No, no, no, getting out of the car. It's good for my back. It's good for my bladder. It's good for my brain, you know?

• 1:17:36Matt Farah?

Oh, I, I can't, I can't, I haven't, uh, fact-checked this claim, but don't judge an engine by its cover. Says, uh, as of 2025, the Subaru BRZ has taken the WRX's spot as the most ticketed car in the US. Do you see this more as an increase in the enthusiasm surrounding the BRZ or the fall of the popularity of the WRX? Both?

• 1:17:59Speaker 01

Yeah, probably both. You know, the, the BRZ people are, they're like the, the pure rear wheel drive. They're like, yeah, we're gonna drift this thing. So they're probably doing more stunt stuff than the WRX people. The WRX and the S-100 used to be like, I'll work hard, I'll make some money. They're just vaping hard, right? They're not even doing anything crazy. No one's going off-road with a WRX, but I imagine BRZ. People are doing stupid as shit. That's true.

• 1:18:23Matt Farah?

I also think they've they kind of they stopped making the dub the STI awhile ago.

• 1:18:28Speaker 01

It's like the S version or whatever.

• 1:18:28Matt Farah?

The WRX is softer and not really is like tuner friendly now. It does, but like the the there's just more used BRZs and shit around for kids to buy and drive stupid.

• 1:18:43Speaker 01

It's the cheapest you can get into a rear wheel drive car.

• 1:18:45Matt Farah?

  Pretty much.

• 1:18:46Speaker 01

Right, that's a manual rear wheel drive car. And that has more space than Miata, yeah. Exactly, so that is going to lead to Shenanigans. Shenanigans, young people in a rear wheel drive car doing shenanigans.

• 1:19:00Matt Farah?

Uh, we'll save the watch question for next time. Ma- Machi- Machiavelli, that's pretty good. Uh, dream city venue you wish to perform at.

• 1:19:10Speaker 01

Dream city venue, uh, this is not really a dream city. I'd love to do a big venue in my hometown. I grew up in London, Ontario, Canada. Shout out London, Ontario. So we have, uh, now it's called the Canada Life Place. That's the biggest venue in so growing up it was called the John Labatt Center, then it was called the Budweiser Gardens. You know how these centers keep getting, but here you guys got crypto and whatever though. So now it's called

• 1:19:35Matt Farah?

We've always had stupid names for stuff and going back to the 90s.

• 1:19:38Speaker 01

The Amazon Prime, uh, you know, Recreation Center, right? But, uh, now it's called Canada Life Place. I'd love to play just the biggest venue in my hometown, just to be like, you know, that's like what Kevin Hart played like 10 years ago, to just be like

• 1:19:50Matt Farah?

  Yeah.

• 1:19:51Speaker 01

  Shit, you know?

• 1:19:52Matt Farah?

By then it'll be the fucking Bluetooth Gold Arena.

• 1:19:55Speaker 01

It'll be called the Waymo Love The Palantir Palace. Yeah.

• 1:19:59Matt Farah?

The Calshi fucking Gamble On Everything, yeah.

• 1:20:04Speaker 01

The Saudi Arabia Fun Place. Thank you to our Saudi Arabian owners. We'd like to thank them and enjoy you. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Get a, get a Hummus hot dog.

• 1:20:14Matt Farah?

It's basically like the Qatar Embassy now.

• 1:20:17Speaker 01

  Yeah, yeah, pretty much, dude.

• 1:20:18Matt Farah?

Like, you have to show a passport to get in there. Uh, Dre from Houston, what is an unreliable car you would all buy even though you know better?

• 1:20:29Speaker 01

Well, you know, he's going on about Range Rover. Ah, Range Rover, dude. My good friend Joad is general manager at London Ontario Range Rover. So every time I go there, and I shit talk Range Rovers all the time. That's another one where we can all shit talk them and it will not affect sales one bit.

• 1:20:46Matt Farah?

  Very true.

• 1:20:46Speaker 01

Range Rover is like, they just took, even in LA, it's like the aesthetic, they nailed the aesthetic. And they even at one point apparently were doing, putting money into increasing reliability and stuff like that. And like kind of doing a push to reduce claims, etc. And it had no effect on sales. They noticed like, it's just the aesthetic and the name that sells these cars.

• 1:21:08Matt Farah?

  And they're very comfortable.

• 1:21:09Speaker 01

And extremely, dude, they glide down the road.

• 1:21:11Matt Farah?

They're really nicely made and they're really nice to drive.

• 1:21:14Speaker 01

They feel great. So for sure, Range Rover Sport, SVR baby all day.

• 1:21:20Matt Farah?

  I'd buy a full-size Range Rover.

• 1:21:21Speaker 01

  Yeah?

• 1:21:22Matt Farah?

Yeah. Although I don't have any evidence that the new ones are, you could, I would buy the cheapest full-size Range Rover, which I got one as a press car.

• 1:21:30Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 1:21:31Matt Farah?

It was a hundred and five thousand bucks.

• 1:21:33Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 1:21:33Matt Farah?

Still a lot of money, but, but for a full-size Range Rover.

• 1:21:35Speaker 01

  Great.

• 1:21:36Matt Farah?

And it had like, pretty much everything.

• 1:21:38Speaker 01

  A lot of features, yeah.

• 1:21:39Matt Farah?

  Yeah, it was great.

• 1:21:40Speaker 01

  Very comfortable. Very comfortable.

• 1:21:44Matt Farah?

Queer Shifting Gears says, "At our recent Lemons race at Mid-Ohio, our transmission got stuck in 4th gear in a 1996 Maxima. Everyone on the team ended up running faster lap times by 3 to 6 seconds compared to their first day. Have you ended up with similar issues that ended up for the better? I've never ended up faster with a car stuck in 4th gear."

• 1:22:06Speaker 01

Yeah, how does that make, how does that make sense? That doesn't make sense though.

• 1:22:09Matt Farah?

I mean, a couple of things could happen. One is they got faster on, because they just got better at the track. You know, their lap times are probably just gonna be better on day 2 than they would be on day 1 anyway.

• 1:22:19Speaker 01

  Correct, correct.

• 1:22:20Matt Farah?

  Second is...

• 1:22:21Speaker 01

  But not 3rd, we're not saying 3rd, we're saying 4th.

• 1:22:24Speaker 02

I know, yeah, I agree. And I'm looking at, you know, the corners.

• 1:22:27Speaker 01

  There's a lot of straightaways that, that's, I guess.

• 1:22:29Speaker 02

No, this is the track, it looks like there's a lot of...

• 1:22:31Matt Farah?

You can easily run this track in 4th gear, and I'll tell you why. The, the straightaway... The entry onto the straightaway is gonna be probably the boggiest bit, but that that hairpin, which it this course runs clockwise, is downhill. So that you're going downhill on that hairpin onto the front straight. So you got a little assist. The front straight is slightly downhill. The whole roller coaster bit at the top of the north end of the of the thing is mostly downhill. Some is back. This bit where Zach is on the east side is back uphill, but it's fast.

• 1:23:09Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 1:23:10Matt Farah?

And you kind of got some inertia.

• 1:23:12Speaker 01

You can stay at a higher speed, like above like 60, 70 miles an hour the whole time.

• 1:23:17Matt Farah?

Yeah, and the bits that are slower, you have a downhill assist.

• 1:23:21Speaker 01

Got it. So you're always keeping speed.

• 1:23:22Matt Farah?

I think it's interesting. Maybe your drivers.

• 1:23:26Speaker 01

That's still kind of crazy, though.

• 1:23:27Matt Farah?

Maybe your drivers were just better when they could focus on their line and weren't shifting. Maybe they weren't blowing the tires off, lower gears. Maybe they were just smoother.

• 1:23:38Speaker 01

Probably all of those things, yeah.

• 1:23:39Matt Farah?

  How interesting.

• 1:23:40Speaker 01

  That's badass.

• 1:23:41Matt Farah?

I've never had a car that broke and then we went fast.

• 1:23:43Speaker 01

They probably focus a lot on maintaining momentum. If you said that like third gear, I'd be like, yeah, okay, I could see that. You know what I mean? Two, I don't know about that, you know, top out pretty early. But third, yeah, I could see that. Fourth, you're like, what? Fourth?

• 1:23:55Matt Farah?

  Very interesting. Yeah.

• 1:23:57Speaker 01

They might as well be like fifth gear, we like what?

• 1:23:59Matt Farah?

Maybe they weren't overdriving the tires and the tires were holding up better. How interesting. Uh, Christian says, can you explain how all car companies have to use smaller gas engines for emissions and global standards, but Ferrari will put a V12 in their SUV? And Hummer said they're going back to gas and hybrid. Well.

• 1:24:19Speaker 01

So the Hummer's ditching their their electric Hummer?

• 1:24:23Matt Farah?

  Well.

• 1:24:24Speaker 01

Or they're giving a range extending version of it?

• 1:24:26Matt Farah?

They're probably gonna have an electric one and a hybrid one.

• 1:24:29Speaker 01

Oh, I had no idea. But here's the thing, the super small volume players, I don't think they have to do EPA the same or emissions.

• 1:24:39Matt Farah?

  The super small ones.

• 1:24:40Speaker 01

  Like Ferrari?

• 1:24:41Matt Farah?

Kinda do. Ferrari is special because they're under another parent company Fiat.

• 1:24:47Speaker 01

So Fiat does, gets all of their numbers from the mass and then they let them have an allotment of like, anything goes.

• 1:24:54Matt Farah?

Yeah, but also they do still have hybrid product. They're, the, the, the 296 is hybrid. The new 849 Testarossa, which replaces the SF90 is hybrid. The F80 is hybrid. There's going to be a hybrid version of the-

• 1:25:09Speaker 01

But they do that for performance though, right?

• 1:25:11Speaker 02

But it still gets them the credit.

• 1:25:12Matt Farah?

It still gets them the credit. It doesn't matter why you do it if you do it.

• 1:25:14Speaker 01

  Okay.

• 1:25:15Matt Farah?

So, yeah, they, so, so Ferrari's math says, well, we can still put a V12 in the 12C and we can put a V12 in the Purosangue if we do these other things to balance it out. I mean, fucking, dude, it's not all, all car company. GM is still making a manual Blackwing. Where it gets eight miles a fucking gallon, you know?

• 1:25:39Speaker 01

  Not the CT4 or whatever?

• 1:25:41Matt Farah?

  The CT5 Blackwing.

• 1:25:42Speaker 01

The, uh, that's the only one left, right?

• 1:25:45Matt Farah?

  Is the only manual V8.

• 1:25:47Speaker 01

They took out the, uh, the small one, is that the?

• 1:25:50Matt Farah?

The CT4 Blackwing they're still making.

• 1:25:52Speaker 02

Well, they're cancelling the 4 and the 5 after 2026.

• 1:25:55Speaker 01

  Oh, I didn't know the 5 too.

• 1:25:56Speaker 02

But the 5 is Blackwing, but the CT5 will come back.

• 1:25:59Matt Farah?

  Yeah.

• 1:26:00Speaker 02

  According to Car and Driver.

• 1:26:01Matt Farah?

  Yes.

• 1:26:02Speaker 01

That's a badass car right there.

• 1:26:03Matt Farah?

  Oh, it's awesome.

• 1:26:03Speaker 01

Yeah, I mean, so that, it used to be like M5 and that, right? And then M5 went, you know, full hybrid 5,000 pounds. So now it's actually in a special place that nobody else is.

• 1:26:12Speaker 02

  For sure.

• 1:26:13Matt Farah?

Yeah, and so like, you know, and companies that want to sell in different markets to different type of customers have different global regulations. So like the M5 Hybrid, for instance, they really need to sell to people in like the UK.

• 1:26:27Speaker 01

  Yes.

• 1:26:27Matt Farah?

Where those plug-in hybrids are very advantageous to the standards that those, that, those countries have now.

• 1:26:34Speaker 01

Anything that comes out now, that's not a hybrid, I'm actually like surprised. Like I'm shocked. Yeah, just from like, from a mass point of view, fuel economy.

• 1:26:45Matt Farah?

  Yeah.

• 1:26:45Speaker 01

And from a performance point of view, performance. You know what I mean? They get those little chargers, they put little electric motors, so now it shaves like a third of a second off. It adds weight, but, or they'll try to put the motor in there to like, smooth, you know, gear shifts and whatever they like.

• 1:27:01Matt Farah?

If you don't have the resources to do it properly, you can make a car real shitty by trying to do a hybrid. Like, you gotta have the resources to make the integration very smooth and really good. And so there's some people that don't have, like Nissan. Dude, you don't want a Nissan hybrid. Stellantis, obviously, they just shut down their hybrid division, not because they didn't think hybrids worth investing in, because they were so shitty.

• 1:27:24Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 1:27:25Matt Farah?

They were, they had so many problems, like, you know, so a great hybrid is great. But like, a bad one is like a huge red flag.

• 1:27:33Speaker 01

It's just that technology's so ubiquitous now, that it's like you think they would just benchmark it, take a Camry, take a Prius, rip it apart, figure out what they did.

• 1:27:43Matt Farah?

  Yeah.

• 1:27:43Speaker 01

That every RAV4 only comes hybrid now, yeah?

• 1:27:46Matt Farah?

  Yep.

• 1:27:46Speaker 01

They did, because if you look, 99% of the road are hybrid, they're like, you know, what are we doing?

• 1:27:51Matt Farah?

Yeah. Uh, Darian Lux says, "You're allowed to make any one race car from history, street legal, what's your pick and why?"

• 1:28:02Matt Farah?

Uh, what street legal race car would I like to drive that is not currently street legal?

• 1:28:07Speaker 01

Was the CLK GT-R street legal?

• 1:28:10Matt Farah?

There was a street version of it.

• 1:28:12Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 1:28:12Matt Farah?

But there was, you could, one could, could argue that the racing version was the backflippy one.

• 1:28:17Speaker 01

Having, yeah, having had that poster, I'll have to go with the CLK, and I always just love seeing CLK GT-R. So many letters.

• 1:28:24Matt Farah?

Yeah, exactly. Uh, I would like to, to have the, a plate put on that T1 Raptor thing that Zach and I got to have a go in, which is Ford's carbon tub-de-car race vehicle. It's like a buggy, it's called Raptor, but it's not a Raptor.

• 1:28:41Speaker 01

  I think I saw it.

• 1:28:42Matt Farah?

It's like a psychotic buggy, yeah, yeah, yeah.

• 1:28:45Speaker 01

It's got like a giant winch or something in the back, what's it got in the? It's a

• 1:28:50Matt Farah?

  It's this

• 1:28:51Speaker 01

Oh, this I have never seen

• 1:28:52Matt Farah?

  It's a Dakar

• 1:28:53Speaker 01

Dude, that looks like a Mars rover That's incredible

• 1:28:56Matt Farah?

  Yeah, yeah, yeah

• 1:28:57Speaker 01

  That's sexy as hell

• 1:28:58Matt Farah?

  So it has a

• 1:28:59Speaker 01

  You guys ripped this?

• 1:29:00Speaker 02

We got to ride in it

• 1:29:01Matt Farah?

We got to ride in it with their pro

• 1:29:02Speaker 01

How was it? Did you do a jump? Did you guys do a jump?

• 1:29:05Matt Farah?

We did some small ones Some small ones

• 1:29:07Speaker 01

  What was it, a jump?

• 1:29:08Matt Farah?

There was air for sure, but there wasn't like a big table

• 1:29:10Speaker 01

This looks like some Ken Block shit right there

• 1:29:12Matt Farah?

But it's the, the, the, the speed that you could carry over whoops was You could carry 100 miles an hour over whoops

• 1:29:20Speaker 02

It's got a Mustang engine effectively in the middle And then it's carbon fiber

• 1:29:24Matt Farah?

  Yeah

• 1:29:25Speaker 02

And so, you know, the wheels

• 1:29:26Speaker 01

  What's this thing called?

• 1:29:26Speaker 02

  T1, Raptor T1 Plus

• 1:29:28Speaker 01

I've never even heard of this

• 1:29:29Matt Farah?

And it's an eight into one exhaust, which makes it sound like a Formula One car

• 1:29:33Speaker 02

  Dude, it sounds amazing

• 1:29:34Speaker 01

Real crazy Like eight headers or like?

• 1:29:35Matt Farah?

Yeah, like all eight headers go into one pipe

• 1:29:37Speaker 01

  Oh, it's just

• 1:29:38Matt Farah?

  High pitched, very cool

• 1:29:40Speaker 02

  Super cool

• 1:29:41Matt Farah?

Would you, would you drive a race car in the street? Do you have a choice for this question?

• 1:29:46Speaker 01

Didn't I say I see that kid you too?

• 1:29:47Matt Farah?

Oh, you did say I see that kid you too, sorry, sorry, sorry

• 1:29:49Speaker 01

  You fucking with me, bro?

• 1:29:50Matt Farah?

Sorry, no, not just brain damage Uh huh, we got five minutes and so Don't break for the kink says Do you think we'll ever see aftermarket ADAS tuning? I'd love a tailgate mode for left lane campers I, I don't think you'd have a

• 1:30:06Speaker 01

  I don't, honestly, I don't even know what that's saying

• 1:30:09Matt Farah?

ADAS, so I mean, I'll be honest So like, ADAS is like lane keep assist, all the safety assist That can get very intrusive and annoying

• 1:30:18Speaker 01

  Oh, yeah

• 1:30:19Matt Farah?

So I think that in the future, there will be people like Cobb Tuning and APR And these companies will have, just like they can tune for horsepower Veltz be able to tune so that when the car turns on, all the ADAS systems are not on by default

• 1:30:33Speaker 01

  Got it

• 1:30:34Matt Farah?

So you don't have to turn them shits on every time

• 1:30:36Speaker 01

  Awesome

• 1:30:36Matt Farah?

What, uh, Don't Break For The Kink is saying A custom programmable ADAS that would, for instance, tailgate people. I don't know any programmer that would responsibly put that in a car.

• 1:30:51Speaker 02

No, but I bet programmers somewhere else will.

• 1:30:54Speaker 01

Got it, okay. I think you're just gonna have to do it manually. You're gonna have to do it manually, my guy.

• 1:30:58Speaker 02

I truly think, like, people will always find a way to meddle with cars in some way, because there's too many people. Someone will eventually sell a program that will make... Like, if every car is autonomous, they'll go, "Well, here's a little spicy version," you know? And they'll do that. Yeah.

• 1:31:11Speaker 01

The problem is, tailgating, so if you, like, you know, you wanna tailgate somebody for a left-lane camper, right? So it's like, you wanna get an asshole out of the way, right? But then, if you're not doing it to somebody who's left-lane camping, you're being an asshole. So it's an asshole mode.

• 1:31:25Speaker 02

  Right, right.

• 1:31:27Speaker 01

Are you the asshole, or are you trying to stop an asshole?

• 1:31:30Speaker 02

  Yeah.

• 1:31:30Speaker 01

You're gonna have to do it manually. You're just gonna have to do it manually. Like your dad did, and his dad before him.

• 1:31:35Matt Farah?

I don't think tailgating works. Flashing works. Better than tailgating. Yeah, even in the day. I'm leading these events across entire states, and I have to be flashing people to move all the time. And I have a pretty high success rate.

• 1:31:49Speaker 01

America's pretty bad about that, where it's most of the world, and Canada too.

• 1:31:53Matt Farah?

  Yeah.

• 1:31:53Speaker 01

Where it's like, most of the world's like, "Oh, I need to get out of the way."

• 1:31:58Matt Farah?

  Yeah.

• 1:31:58Speaker 01

But here, people are like, "Fuck you, I'll do what I want." Like, there's a little bit of that, "Hey, I'm here." Like, there's not, it's not really a left-lane, passing lane mentally for a lot of people here.

• 1:32:08Matt Farah?

I just wanna not drive behind other people.

• 1:32:11Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 1:32:11Matt Farah?

And I'm going four over, and that's as fast as anybody should ever be going, so, yeah.

• 1:32:17Speaker 01

You run into that a lot here, and they're like, proud that they're not moving.

• 1:32:20Matt Farah?

  Yeah, yeah.

• 1:32:21Speaker 01

And you pass them, they just won't move their neck. You're like...

• 1:32:23Matt Farah?

Some states are better than others. Nevada is really good.

• 1:32:27Speaker 01

  Yeah?

• 1:32:27Matt Farah?

Uh, yeah, Texas is pretty good.

• 1:32:29Speaker 02

Texas is good. I like driving in Texas. Dallas is a little annoying sometimes, but...

• 1:32:33Matt Farah?

But I'm just specifically in their etiquette of pulling out of the way.

• 1:32:37Speaker 01

  Yeah, yeah, yeah.

• 1:32:39Matt Farah?

Dude, thanks for coming by. Last minute. Good show. Thank you for having me. Uh, go check out those tour dates at Abbas Wahab. See me live. Com or on the socials. Yeah, catch him in LA. Catch me in LA. If you're getting this show when it goes up, he's in LA on the 23rd. That's today. So, uh.

• 1:32:57Speaker 02

And definitely give him a follow on Instagram, TikTok. Uh, your reels are very funny.

• 1:33:01Matt Farah?

Thank you, man. I appreciate you. Thanks for having me. And a very high percentage of your comedy is about cars. Yeah. So if you're into this show, you'll probably like your comedy. Uh, thanks dude, and thanks to our patrons for asking such good questions. We appreciate you guys. Zach and I are going racing, so we'll see you from the other side of that race next week. Peace out.
