I actually didn't realize how bad my debt was till I pulled everything and I calculated it.

• 1:03Caleb Hammer?

  How were you so off?

• 1:04Speaker 03

Girl, I'm not trying to do math here.

• 1:06Caleb Hammer?

You're never making progress in your life whatsoever.

• 1:09Speaker 03

That's why I'm like, why am I like this?

• 1:12Caleb Hammer?

  It's your choice.

  Mm-hmm.

• 1:16Caleb Hammer?

• 1:43Speaker 03

Hi, I'm Shar. I'm 42 years old, from Orlando, Florida, and you're watching Financial Audit.

• 1:50Caleb Hammer?

Yes, you are, and thanks for coming on over to Austin for Financial Audit. What do you do there for a living?

• 1:55Speaker 03

I'm an operations coordinator, property manager, and wedding officiant.

• 2:00Caleb Hammer?

  Is it the same job?

• 2:01Speaker 03

  No.

• 2:02Caleb Hammer?

  These are two jobs?

• 2:03Speaker 03

So the property manager and operations coordinator is one job, and then I own my own wedding officiant business.

• 2:10Caleb Hammer?

  Side hustle?

• 2:11Speaker 03

  Yeah.

• 2:12Caleb Hammer?

Okay, because... If that was big enough to be full time, you'd be doing that full time, right? If that was like the

• 2:17Speaker 03

  Definitely not.

• 2:18Caleb Hammer?

  Oops.

• 2:19Speaker 03

  I hit the microphone.

• 2:20Caleb Hammer?

Oh, okay. No, it's, it's okay. Okay, cool. So the full time job, how much are you making in that?

• 2:27Speaker 03

Forty four thousand plus sometimes bonuses, a bonus.

• 2:30Caleb Hammer?

  Four thousand in Florida.

• 2:31Speaker 03

  Yeah.

• 2:32Caleb Hammer?

Florida ain't cheap. Orlando, I don't know as much specifically, but I know Florida's not cheap. What hits your account on a monthly basis from that job?

• 2:42Speaker 03

Um, so I take home after taxes, twelve twenty six every two weeks. But I do have an extra one fifty per paycheck taken out for tax, for business taxes to offset my business taxes at the end of the year.

• 2:58Caleb Hammer?

  You withhold extra?

• 2:59Speaker 03

  Yeah.

• 2:59Caleb Hammer?

Instead of just setting aside money from your business?

• 3:01Speaker 03

Correct. If it never hits my account.

• 3:03Caleb Hammer?

Is the money you make from business stagnant, never going up, never going down? Cause how would you?

• 3:08Speaker 03

  Very up and down.

• 3:09Caleb Hammer?

Then how does that make sense to withhold from your main paycheck?

• 3:13Speaker 03

Cause then if I, then at the end of the year, I might get a tax refund. Sometimes I might, oh. It offsets it.

• 3:22Caleb Hammer?

No, it doesn't offset it. It either makes you have to pay money or you gave the government a loan at zero percent.

• 3:30Speaker 03

  That's fine.

• 3:32Caleb Hammer?

Is it? When you could just be setting?

• 3:34Speaker 03

No, cause if I set it aside.

• 3:36Caleb Hammer?

  Doing quarterly estimated payments?

• 3:38Speaker 03

  No.

• 3:38Caleb Hammer?

  Why?

• 3:39Speaker 03

No. Oh, because I'm an individual, sorry.

• 3:42Speaker 03

I get really excited. I'm a sole proprietor, so I file my business taxes as S corp? I think C corp, something.

• 3:52Caleb Hammer?

We're S corp. We do estimate it.

• 3:55Speaker 03

No, I just file it, maybe C corp. I file as sole proprietor.

• 4:02Speaker 03

That's all I really know. Hey, I file my taxes. That's

• 4:06Caleb Hammer?

I'm thrilled. Do you work with CPA?

• 4:10Speaker 03

  No.

• 4:12Caleb Hammer?

  No.

• 4:12Speaker 03

  I do it on TurboTax.

• 4:13Caleb Hammer?

In no way. No, you do not.

• 4:16Speaker 03

So I don't claim a lot of stuff.

• 4:17Caleb Hammer?

Hold on, you must not make a lot of money. What does the second job make?

• 4:21Speaker 03

Sometimes I make more than my full-time job. Um, so

• 4:25Caleb Hammer?

What the fuck are you risking it then, man?

• 4:27Speaker 03

  Risking what?

• 4:29Caleb Hammer?

The IRS coming down and busting in your door.

• 4:32Speaker 03

But I pay my tax, like I file, I keep a spreadsheet of all my stuff and I save every email. I know, right? I'm gonna get better at this, but I have an

• 4:42Caleb Hammer?

Well, that's exactly what I'm saying is risky.

• 4:45Speaker 03

Everything that I buy that isn't parking is connected to my email. So I, yeah, cause parking, you don't get an email confirmation, but when I buy like

• 4:55Caleb Hammer?

Literally every purchase you make in the world outside of parking, you get an email confirmation?

• 4:59Speaker 03

  Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.

• 5:00Caleb Hammer?

You stuff into Wagmans or whatever is there.

• 5:03Speaker 03

Business. Every time I make a business purchase, it's always connected to my email cause it's like advertising or something like that, that I pay.

• 5:11Caleb Hammer?

You never get anything outside of that?

• 5:13Speaker 03

Just, um, sorry, just the, um, oh my gosh, parking.

• 5:20Caleb Hammer?

Why would you not work with a CPA?

• 5:22Speaker 03

I mean, I guess I should. I thought about it.

• 5:24Caleb Hammer?

I guess you should. Cause one, they could probably save you a lot of money. And two, they would tell you how much is a withhold on a monthly basis.

• 5:30Speaker 03

  Yes.

• 5:30Caleb Hammer?

So that you're just doing that instead of giving the government a free loan or having to pay more at the end of the year, which also just gets and they would probably, you know, say, uh-oh, you're supposed to be paying estimated taxes of which you might be facing penalties that you don't know about. I'm not sure. Depends on your situation. So the 1226, right? That hits?

• 5:48Speaker 03

  Yeah.

• 5:48Caleb Hammer?

Is that after that extra withholding or before?

• 5:51Speaker 03

  After.

• 5:52Caleb Hammer?

Okay. And that hits twice a month essentially on average. Gotcha. Okay. So that is $2,452. That's hard to live on in Orlando. Now the business, you say very up and down. Give me an example of like the last quarter. What came in Q2? What did Q2 look like?

• 6:09Speaker 03

  So what is that?

• 6:11Caleb Hammer?

  Actually, have we?

• 6:12Speaker 03

March, April, May, June, April, May, June. Oh, wow. Yeah. I was probably busy then. Um,

• 6:19Caleb Hammer?

  Yeah, weddings.

• 6:21Speaker 03

  Yeah. So

• 6:22Caleb Hammer?

  You married?

• 6:24Speaker 03

  Florida, it's busy.

• 6:26Caleb Hammer?

  It's a state.

• 6:27Speaker 03

So yeah, I don't really know.

• 6:28Caleb Hammer?

Oh, that, all that for no answer.

• 6:31Speaker 03

Twelve thousand dollars for three months.

• 6:32Caleb Hammer?

  That's a guess, I'm assuming since.

• 6:35Speaker 03

So listen, I require a hundred dollar retainer and then I get paid the balance ninety days before the wedding.

• 6:42Caleb Hammer?

How do you not know what you made and spend?

• 6:45Speaker 03

Because I pull it all at the end. I don't pull it quarterly. I pull all of my financial transactions from like Venmo, Cash App,

• 6:53Caleb Hammer?

  Oh lady.

• 6:55Speaker 03

  PayPal, Square.

• 6:56Caleb Hammer?

When? At the end of the year?

• 6:57Speaker 03

  Yes, sir.

• 6:58Caleb Hammer?

  That's insane.

• 6:59Speaker 03

And I have my little thing on like my officiant to do process. So like, I know that I'm supposed to be doing this, but I'm a slacker. I'm a, I uh, am a slacker and I work better when I have to get it done. Trust me, I file my taxes in April.

• 7:14Caleb Hammer?

You might have to get it done on a quarterly basis.

• 7:16Speaker 03

I actually didn't know about that. I'm gonna find out.

• 7:18Caleb Hammer?

Well, it's usually based on last year's taxes, but either way.

• 7:21Speaker 03

Oh, okay. So I don't know any, I'm not a business person.

• 7:24Caleb Hammer?

How much did you make last year in your business as a non-business person?

• 7:29Speaker 03

  Like forty thousand dollars.

• 7:30Caleb Hammer?

  Okay.

• 7:31Speaker 03

  For the business, yeah.

• 7:31Caleb Hammer?

  Was that gross?

• 7:33Speaker 03

Oh, that was before all my expenses.

• 7:35Caleb Hammer?

Good. What were your expenses last year?

• 7:37Speaker 03

Oh, I could pull it up if you want. Probably like twenty seven thousand dollars, twenty thousand.

• 7:44Caleb Hammer?

Twenty or twenty seven, that's big when we're talking.

• 7:46Speaker 03

  Um, twenty.

• 7:49Caleb Hammer?

  So your profit was twenty?

• 7:51Speaker 03

  Sure.

• 7:52Caleb Hammer?

  Sure.

• 7:53Speaker 03

I have to pull it up. I don't, I'm not thinking about what I made last year all the time.

• 7:58Caleb Hammer?

Then, well, I mean, I'm gonna use that as like this year's numbers since you can't tell me

• 8:02Speaker 03

  I know.

• 8:03Caleb Hammer?

what this year's numbers are and I'm literally in the, you're, and what are we, six and a half minutes in and I am just trying to get your income.

• 8:10Speaker 03

  I should have just.

• 8:11Caleb Hammer?

It's gonna be one of those conversations, I see.

• 8:13Speaker 03

I know, I'm sorry, I slacked. What am I looking up? Oh, taxes. And I'm a giggler, just so you know. So just because I'm giggling and laughing doesn't mean I'm not taking it serious, cause I'm here.

• 8:26Caleb Hammer?

It is one of my triggers.

• 8:27Speaker 03

Yes. Oh, look, here's my thing on how, when to do what, my to do, file taxes yearly.

• 8:34Caleb Hammer?

Her to do list is in a Google sheet.

• 8:36Speaker 03

Oh, sorry. It is in a Google sheet.

• 8:40Speaker 03

  Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Okay.

• 8:42Caleb Hammer?

  Oh.

• 8:43Speaker 03

Twenty seven, eight fifty. No, that was payments on two thousand twenty three. Um. What the heck?

• 8:51Caleb Hammer?

  Last year was twenty four.

• 8:52Speaker 03

Oh, there it is. Oh, no, that was lost revenue. Oh, my gosh. I'm so sorry. I, uh,

• 8:58Caleb Hammer?

  Okay.

• 8:58Speaker 03

  Taxes.

• 8:59Caleb Hammer?

  I think.

• 9:00Speaker 03

  No, it's not.

• 9:01Caleb Hammer?

  It's not okay?

• 9:02Speaker 03

  No.

• 9:05Speaker 03

I should be a little more organized. You know what I mean?

• 9:08Caleb Hammer?

Yes, preferably. I would suggest that.

• 9:12Speaker 03

So I don't know. I can give you the year before.

• 9:15Caleb Hammer?

Why did you tell me? Let me check in order to get my number because that's what

• 9:21Speaker 03

  Cause I'm looking.

• 9:22Caleb Hammer?

It sounded like you were able to just go click clack and you would be there.

• 9:25Speaker 03

Cause I have my tax spreadsheet.

• 9:27Caleb Hammer?

I just wanna know what the income was for twenty four.

• 9:31Speaker 03

Forty thousand before taxes, twenty thousand.

• 9:36Caleb Hammer?

  Is your full guess?

• 9:38Speaker 03

  Yeah.

• 9:39Caleb Hammer?

What did you pay taxes on the twenty?

• 9:42Speaker 03

Oh, no. Oh, dude, I don't know.

• 9:45Caleb Hammer?

  Oh, my.

• 9:46Speaker 03

Do you want? I should have run my computer and I could show you my whole tax return. I don't think about like.

• 9:53Caleb Hammer?

How am I supposed to estimate what you make? What can I? I can add to your income if this is a substantial part of your life. What the can I add to your monthly average?

• 10:02Speaker 03

  Let's say I make.

• 10:04Caleb Hammer?

No, why would I say let's say? Why would I let you say let's say? That doesn't make any sense.

• 10:09Speaker 03

  Three thousand dollars a month.

• 10:11Caleb Hammer?

After taxes, expenses with, like, I'm confused. What?

• 10:14Speaker 03

Before taxes. I mean, before expenses, before taxes.

• 10:18Caleb Hammer?

Before expenses and your expenses seem to be fifty percent.

• 10:23Speaker 03

  Sure.

• 10:24Caleb Hammer?

  Sure?

• 10:25Speaker 03

  I don't know.

• 10:25Caleb Hammer?

But that's what you're saying for last year. That's what you're saying for last year.

• 10:30Speaker 03

  I'm dying over here.

• 10:32Caleb Hammer?

No, don't. No, this is a pretty basic question. You're a business owner.

• 10:35Speaker 03

Oh, I know. That's why I'm like, why am I like this?

• 10:40Caleb Hammer?

  This, but it's your choice.

• 10:42Speaker 03

Yeah. That's why I'm wondering why I'm like this. Cause why am I choosing this for my life? No, actually.

• 10:48Caleb Hammer?

Can you try to answer that for me?

• 10:49Speaker 03

You're opening my eyes as to what I need to do. Cause I'm not a business person.

• 10:54Caleb Hammer?

  You literally are.

• 10:55Speaker 03

  No, I know.

• 10:57Caleb Hammer?

It's the same income as your other job.

• 10:59Speaker 03

I am currently a business person, but I'm not business minded. Like I'm not looking.

• 11:05Caleb Hammer?

What does that mean to you?

• 11:06Speaker 03

Like, I'm not focused on making the most and like, I don't want five of his hands under me.

• 11:15Caleb Hammer?

Make. It's not about making more. I'm asking what you make.

• 11:19Speaker 03

So I'm pretty sure when I filed my taxes in April, cause I do wait till the last minute. I probably, probably, probably.

• 11:34Speaker 03

Brought in like $40,000 before taxes.

• 11:37Caleb Hammer?

  Yeah, we got that part.

• 11:38Speaker 03

And fees. So I'm estimating after, but then, cause you have mileage reimbursement. It's like a whole thing.

• 11:49Caleb Hammer?

  Yes, yes, it is.

• 11:51Speaker 03

Yeah. Do you want me to pull up my tax return?

• 11:53Caleb Hammer?

  Oh my.

• 11:54Speaker 03

I might be able to. Yeah, I think so.

• 11:56Caleb Hammer?

Sure. I don't know why you didn't just do that.

• 11:59Speaker 03

Because I'm all over the place here. Oh, I got emails for weddings. I might have to answer those.

• 12:07Speaker 03

  Classic.

• 12:10Speaker 03

  I think I'm hilarious.

• 12:14Speaker 03

I know, right? Jeez, what's her problem? Okay. So I might not be able to pull up my taxes.

• 12:19Caleb Hammer?

I'm just doing it with a quirky millennial again, I think. And I got in trouble in the comments last time that I didn't like that.

• 12:25Speaker 03

I'm an elder millennial too. So that's even worse. Um, yeah, I don't have it. Let's just say I don't have it.

• 12:36Speaker 03

  I'm sorry, guys. I'm looking, I'm looking.

• 12:39Caleb Hammer?

I don't know what to do with you.

• 12:40Speaker 03

I looked up taxes in both of my emails. Help me.

• 12:44Caleb Hammer?

That's it. IRS perhaps. Maybe search IRS.

• 12:50Caleb Hammer?

  IRS, search IRS.

• 12:52Speaker 03

  Can I?

• 12:52Caleb Hammer?

  Turbo tax.

• 12:52Speaker 03

  Yeah, TurboTax.

• 12:53Caleb Hammer?

Yeah, search the platform you use.

• 12:55Speaker 03

I'm telling you, if I had my computer, it's all on there.

• 12:58Caleb Hammer?

That's great, but this is your same, your email's the same.

• 13:01Speaker 03

Oh, here, look. Ooh. Ooh la la. Okay, that's French.

• 13:12Speaker 03

Hold on, waiting for a confirmation text.

• 13:15Caleb Hammer?

  Okay.

• 13:15Speaker 03

Okay. Oh, my God, I'm so excited to finally pull this up.

• 13:20Speaker 03

Let's hope that I was right on. I know, I'm so sorry. This is gonna be a 14-hour podcast.

• 13:25Caleb Hammer?

  Yo, you're telling me.

• 13:26Speaker 03

I'm here for the long haul. Okay, downloading my return.

• 13:32Speaker 03

  Ee poo poo poo poo.

• 13:36Speaker 03

With you staring at me, it doesn't help.

• 13:38Caleb Hammer?

  I can look over here.

• 13:39Speaker 03

Oh, wait, that's not it either. I got my tax return up. I'm just looking for the financial information on it.

• 13:45Caleb Hammer?

If you just give me the phone, I could probably get it.

• 13:47Speaker 03

Oh, yeah. Oh, here it is. There it is. I scrolled for you. My screen might be a little dark.

• 13:55Speaker 03

One year, I made almost $100,000.

• 13:57Caleb Hammer?

No, no, no, no, no. No, this is...

• 14:00Speaker 03

  What happened? What happened?

• 14:02Caleb Hammer?

Hold on, hold on, hold on. I think she's literally, okay.

• 14:05Speaker 03

Um, did I mess up my taxes?

• 14:07Caleb Hammer?

  Maybe.

• 14:08Speaker 03

  Oh, God.

• 14:11Speaker 03

I heard you can write things off, but I don't. Like, I know a DJ that wrote off a watch.

• 14:16Caleb Hammer?

  Don't...

• 14:17Speaker 03

No, I don't write anything like that off. Just my lineups.

• 14:20Caleb Hammer?

I don't want you to think about write-offs. You would know what a write-off is.

• 14:22Speaker 03

I don't do that unless I'm traveling for a wedding.

• 14:26Caleb Hammer?

Yeah, I want to be very clear. So far, all I'm seeing is here is your $44,000 of your W-2 income.

• 14:32Speaker 03

Oh, maybe it's at the bottom. No, I definitely filed my business taxes on that.

• 14:36Caleb Hammer?

I certainly hope so, because additional income is listed as $1,300. Uh, I will keep going.

• 14:44Speaker 03

  Well, maybe that was after.

• 14:45Caleb Hammer?

So here we go. W-2, $44,388.

• 14:51Speaker 03

  What's the 388?

• 14:53Caleb Hammer?

  Your income from your business.

• 14:57Speaker 03

  For one month?

• 14:58Caleb Hammer?

No, wait, hold on. But why is that under...

• 15:03Caleb Hammer?

Oh, oh, hold on. Gross income for, so, okay, wait. Okay.

• 15:10Caleb Hammer?

From W2 instead of trying to put.

• 15:16Caleb Hammer?

But no, this is your business.

• 15:20Speaker 03

  Cool. You scared me.

• 15:21Caleb Hammer?

  Oh, you scared me.

• 15:23Speaker 03

Cause I know I file my business.

• 15:24Caleb Hammer?

Yeah, but hold on. No, no, but this is what's crazy is like, okay, let's pretend this is your business. And if you had $20,000 of valid business expenses, all you did was co- you didn't, there's no expenses claimed. You're just throwing in the, wait.

• 15:43Speaker 03

  No, there's.

• 15:46Speaker 03

  What's up?

• 15:48Caleb Hammer?

I do believe she claimed, uh, forty-fourth, uh, forty-two thousand dollars of expenses as net profit is listed as $1,369.

• 15:58Speaker 03

Forty-three thousand dollars in it. Oh, maybe that includes mileage? Cause I drive like 20,000 miles a, uh, forty-three thousand dollars in expenses.

• 16:09Caleb Hammer?

And if an audit comes, oh, oh. Uh.

• 16:14Speaker 03

  There's no way.

• 16:15Caleb Hammer?

Qualified business income, $1,272 after everything.

• 16:22Speaker 03

  Can I see that?

• 16:24Caleb Hammer?

In a moment. I'm going through a lot here.

• 16:30Speaker 03

That's where my spreadsheet comes in handy too, though, because I know how much expenses based on the spreadsheet. I know. Well, I don't, I didn't see it in my Google Drive, because I use Google Drive for everything.

• 16:50Caleb Hammer?

  All right.

• 16:51Speaker 03

I mean, so for all my business stuff, I have my.

• 16:53Caleb Hammer?

She made a total profit of a thousand three hundred. So great. Um, that means you make, um, forty-five thousand, five hundred hours a year.

• 17:06Caleb Hammer?

I don't think you had to pay more on that and you probably got a, did you get a refund for last year?

• 17:11Speaker 03

Um, yeah, it was like $1,500.

• 17:14Caleb Hammer?

Yeah, I'm sure it was. There it is.

• 17:18Speaker 03

And then the year before I owed some monies.

• 17:21Caleb Hammer?

This is crazy. Using the 2025 IRS standard mileage rate, 20,000 mile reimbursement for business purposes would be about $14,000, which you add that to your 20 and then you add even more to it. Your business makes no money.

• 17:37Caleb Hammer?

How much time do you spend on your business?

• 17:42Speaker 03

  Um, so.

• 17:44Caleb Hammer?

Because to be very clear, it is a break even hobby.

• 17:47Speaker 03

  Yeah. Well, I mean.

• 17:49Caleb Hammer?

  Unfortunately, where you suggested.

• 17:51Speaker 03

I love it. I don't care. I get more pussy in Fortnite than you do.

• 17:54Caleb Hammer?

That's wonderful. Uh huh. You don't make much money for Central for Florida.

• 18:02Caleb Hammer?

And you're on the show, meaning you're likely in all out of debt.

• 18:05Speaker 03

  Yes.

• 18:05Caleb Hammer?

Uh, so whether that that's an option in the end, I no longer know. How much do you spend on this hobby?

• 18:14Speaker 03

Well, apparently 40 something thousand dollars in expenses, but I didn't know that. Oh, time, sorry. Um.

• 18:26Speaker 03

Like, so every wedding would be three hours, including commute. So like 45 minutes there, 45 minutes back, an hour and a half at the wedding.

• 18:34Caleb Hammer?

Big math. I don't know how many weddings exist per week or month. So how much time are we spending?

• 18:39Speaker 03

  But.

• 18:39Caleb Hammer?

On this job that is your business.

• 18:42Speaker 03

  A month, a week, a day?

• 18:43Caleb Hammer?

  Oh, my gosh.

• 18:44Speaker 03

Like, what are you looking for?

• 18:45Caleb Hammer?

Week average, please. How much time, which goes into planning and everything? Yes. How much?

• 18:51Speaker 03

25 hours if I have X amount of weddings, like eight, seven or eight weddings.

• 18:57Caleb Hammer?

25 hours a week. What do you make? A thousand 300?

• 19:03Caleb Hammer?

Great, you're making a dollar an hour.

• 19:05Speaker 03

  Woo hoo.

• 19:05Caleb Hammer?

  On average.

• 19:06Speaker 03

  I'm rich.

• 19:07Caleb Hammer?

Okay, great. Yeah, it's, I'm glad you can be quirky about it, but, um, yeah, you're financially because you wouldn't be on the show. I don't know your finances yet, but you wouldn't be on the show if you weren't. To make one dollar an hour, 25 hours a week, I don't think is the best use of our time as much as you love it.

• 19:26Speaker 03

  I love it.

• 19:27Caleb Hammer?

A Filipino sweatshop would make more money.

• 19:30Speaker 03

  I don't love that.

• 19:31Caleb Hammer?

No, none of us do, and it wouldn't be as fun, but you would make more money doing anything except for working in prison.

• 19:37Speaker 03

  Mm-hmm.

• 19:41Caleb Hammer?

Why the are we spending so much time doing this, dude?

• 19:44Speaker 03

Cause I really like it. I'm really good at it.

• 19:46Caleb Hammer?

  Okay.

• 19:47Speaker 03

Have you checked out my reviews?

• 19:48Caleb Hammer?

No, but it's clearly not resulting in you making a living.

• 19:53Speaker 03

So if I did, if I changed a few things, I could definitely make more.

• 19:58Caleb Hammer?

  What?

• 19:58Speaker 03

But since I said that I'm not like a business person, I haven't really like stepped it up.

• 20:04Caleb Hammer?

I can't even add that to your income. You make 2,452. That's insane.

• 20:12Speaker 03

Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Sorry. I was not sure where you were getting that number, but I know what you mean now.

• 20:17Caleb Hammer?

What do you mean? That's the number you gave me.

• 20:19Speaker 03

Yeah. No, you were talk, so one minute we were talking about the business, but then you had brought up my full-time job pay, so it just threw me off for a minute.

• 20:28Caleb Hammer?

Uh, dude, you're, I mean, the per capita income, net, net in Orlando, by the way, hold on. But then the metro, so this is a census reporter,

• 20:44Caleb Hammer?

has it at 3,000 hours a month. You're under the per capita net income, but then actually, in the entire metro, in 2023, 57,000. Buddy, you make nothing.

• 21:00Speaker 03

  Yeah, that's why I'm here.

• 21:02Caleb Hammer?

  You're dying.

• 21:05Speaker 03

Yeah, I'm dying. We're all dying every day.

• 21:07Caleb Hammer?

Income is in a, that's why I'm here situation.

• 21:10Speaker 03

  No.

• 21:11Caleb Hammer?

So what are we, what are we doing? What is going on in your life? What is going on? What are we talking about today? Because 20 minutes to establish what you make in your area, by the way.

• 21:22Speaker 03

If I, I didn't know I should have had this. Yeah, I would have had the information ready. I just honestly didn't know that you would be asking that. Or I totally would have had like everything ready. I actually watch it all the time.

• 21:34Caleb Hammer?

Are you broken then? Because you know that is the literal first question I ask.

• 21:38Speaker 03

Yes, but I thought you had it in my financial statements that I sent to you.

• 21:43Caleb Hammer?

Uh, not in terms of averages and stuff, but it's also a very good question and exercise to see if you even know what you make.

• 21:50Speaker 03

  Clearly I don't.

• 21:51Caleb Hammer?

  You spend?

• 21:52Speaker 03

  A lot.

• 21:53Caleb Hammer?

Wonderful. Let's try that in a financial number.

• 21:56Speaker 03

I spent a lot, but it was above my average. Yeah.

• 22:00Caleb Hammer?

  Yeah.

• 22:01Speaker 03

  Yeah.

• 22:02Caleb Hammer?

What do you think you spent last month?

• 22:04Speaker 03

  A month. Okay.

• 22:05Caleb Hammer?

  Last month.

• 22:07Speaker 03

Like on rent, all my bills, everything.

• 22:10Caleb Hammer?

Everything together. And for what it's worth, again, if we do all businesses, all business before expenses. So include your business expenses in the expenses, but all business income before expenses and your regular income was

• 22:23Speaker 03

  Seventy-five hundred dollars.

• 22:24Caleb Hammer?

Seventy thousand, seven thousand, five hundred, seventy-nine dollars and eighty-three cents.

• 22:28Speaker 03

  Girl.

• 22:28Caleb Hammer?

Your income. Girl, what was your?

• 22:32Speaker 03

Oh, no, that's what I thought I spent. Damn it.

• 22:34Caleb Hammer?

Oh, no, that was your income. Girl.

• 22:36Speaker 03

  That was, I don't know.

• 22:39Caleb Hammer?

Yeah, when you answered a different question, you got it right somehow.

• 22:41Speaker 03

  I know. Isn't that weird?

• 22:44Caleb Hammer?

  What was your out?

• 22:44Speaker 03

  It's like I'm psychic.

• 22:45Caleb Hammer?

  What went out?

• 22:46Speaker 03

Um, seventy or eighty-five hundred dollars.

• 22:49Caleb Hammer?

  Very good. So more?

• 22:51Speaker 03

Yeah, more. I probably spent more than I brought in.

• 22:53Caleb Hammer?

Okay. Well, it was nine thousand, six hundred, eighty-four dollars.

• 22:55Speaker 03

Oh dang. Oh dang it. How did I spend nine hundred, nine thousand dollars? I mean, I know how like two thousand of that was spent.

• 23:04Caleb Hammer?

Here's the thing. Clearly it's debt, or else you wouldn't be here, honestly, because you are required to have debt in order to be on the show. And that is what must be supplementing this. I see no other way. What is your life? What are like, what is going on? Please tell me, tell me just like, what is going on? We answered the income. Now just tell me what's going on. All right, let's be real. Credit feels like the ultimate catch 22. You need good credit to get anything, but how are you supposed to build it if no one will give you a chance? • 24:54Speaker 03

  I like going on vacation.

• 24:55Caleb Hammer?

  What is this?

• 24:56Speaker 03

  You'll find that out.

• 24:57Caleb Hammer?

You tithe 10% to your dad?

• 24:59Speaker 03

So you allow people to tithe to their church? So therefore?

• 25:04Caleb Hammer?

  I allow people to?

• 25:05Speaker 03

Yeah, when you do their budget at the end of the show.

• 25:07Caleb Hammer?

Because you can't change someone's religion. And also, that's happened like five times on this show's history in three years.

• 25:12Speaker 03

  Well, I've seen it.

• 25:13Caleb Hammer?

Uploading three episodes a week. Okay, super fan. Yay.

• 25:17Speaker 03

Nice, super fan. Yeah, I did.

• 25:22Caleb Hammer?

I like, I don't even know what episode that is. So you know more about financial audit than me. But either way, yes, because I can't change someone's religion. That's just deep in their bones, man. So no, I can't take that away. But what? Well, how does that? What is your dad? Your religion?

• 25:38Speaker 03

No, but like, although I am in financial crisis, I feel like he um he needs the money more than I do. I mean, I need the money, but he needs money. No, but

• 25:54Caleb Hammer?

What, what, what? Huh? Why does he need more money more than you do? What? Explain this logic here. 10% you give a 10% dad tax?

• 26:03Speaker 03

It's not like it's mandatory. I do it when I can.

• 26:06Caleb Hammer?

But you do it and you never can. You wouldn't be able to do it because everything should be going towards that. Do you have a fully funded emergency fund?

• 26:13Speaker 03

I have like eight thousand, nine thousand dollars.

• 26:18Caleb Hammer?

  No, you don't.

• 26:19Speaker 03

  Yes, I do.

• 26:20Caleb Hammer?

  No, no, you do not.

• 26:21Speaker 03

Savings. I have four thousand, three thousand.

• 26:26Caleb Hammer?

Bro, I have your savings. I don't think you know what you're talking about.

• 26:29Speaker 03

What are you talking about? I can pull up my Chase account, Chase account.

• 26:32Caleb Hammer?

That wouldn't make any sense because you also, by the way, bad debt alone, fifty thousand dollars. Other debt watchers, 0% currently are just seven thousand. So we're at a total of fifty five thousand, seven hundred and twenty two dollars and thirty four cents. I'll say you had eight thousand in there. You don't, by the way, let's say. Why the would that not be going to thirty percent debt that is accumulating when you have fifty five thousand dollars of debt?

• 26:55Speaker 03

I was gonna ask you how I should spend that money, if I should save it on a

• 27:00Caleb Hammer?

That money. Great. Okay. So if you have that much debt, why are you giving your dad 10%?

• 27:06Speaker 03

Well, I mean, I just send him fifty dollars every week if I can.

• 27:10Caleb Hammer?

10% then? You said, you said, you told Lindsay you tied 10% to your dad.

• 27:14Speaker 03

10% of the 2,500 I bring home from my office job.

• 27:19Caleb Hammer?

To your dad. You said you send him 50 here and there. What's true?

• 27:24Speaker 03

  It's usually 50.

• 27:25Caleb Hammer?

Again, why I don't believe your savings thing. What's true?

• 27:28Speaker 03

  $50 a week when I can. Recently, I didn't. I haven't.

• 27:34Caleb Hammer?

  What's this 10% thing?

• 27:35Speaker 03

Maybe like two times a month instead of four.

• 27:37Caleb Hammer?

  What's this 10% thing?

• 27:38Speaker 03

Cause then it's in my budget.

• 27:40Caleb Hammer?

  10% would be $240.

• 27:43Speaker 03

  Yeah. So it's approximately 10%. 8%. Can I tithe 8%?

• 27:50Speaker 03

  I'm not a math person.

• 27:51Caleb Hammer?

  $8%!

• 27:53Speaker 03

Girl, I don't know. I'm not trying to do math here. I'm just saying.

• 27:57Caleb Hammer?

Again, why, why, why would I listen to you when it comes to what numbers are where?

• 28:01Speaker 03

I'm not trying to teach you anything.

• 28:03Caleb Hammer?

Not teach. I'm just trying to get answers to your questions. What do you mean teach? There's no teach. I wouldn't go to you for teaching for anything. I don't know what you're talking about, man.

• 28:12Speaker 03

I am the worst, in case you didn't know.

• 28:15Caleb Hammer?

I don't know, but I hope that's not the case.

• 28:17Speaker 03

  Yeah, me either.

• 28:20Caleb Hammer?

Yeah, you do 12 to 15 weddings a month. With that amount of time, 170 weddings a year, with that amount of time, the income you could be going and making and paying off all this debt because really, if we're being honest with just how money is transferring around and translating, this essentially means you are subsidizing, you spending your time going and doing all these weddings by building up your debt. Cause by the way, another reason why I don't believe in the savings thing. Uh, remember when you spent $2,000 more than you made last month? Like this isn't lining up. You're subsidizing you wanting and going to do this hobby when you should instead be working more

• 29:02Caleb Hammer?

and that would at least pay your bills, but instead of doing that, you are just accumulating debt to subsidize your business hobby.

• 29:12Speaker 03

Can I pull up my savings for you? This is bothering me.

• 29:15Caleb Hammer?

  I have it. Shut the.

• 29:16Speaker 03

I want you to see my account.

• 29:18Caleb Hammer?

  Stop! I have it here!

• 29:20Speaker 03

You clearly don't, or you would see where I have the monies.

• 29:23Caleb Hammer?

  I hate you.

• 29:24Speaker 03

  I hate you.

• 29:25Caleb Hammer?

I don't hate you, but that's very annoying. I hate that moment. Cause I literally have the documents in front of me. Can you let me go through them? You know, the show that you've seen a thousand times?

• 29:33Speaker 03

You're calling me a liar though, and I'm not a liar.

• 29:35Caleb Hammer?

  I have the spreadsheet.

• 29:37Speaker 03

  I might not know things.

• 29:39Caleb Hammer?

  It's ignorance.

• 29:40Speaker 03

It doesn't make me, it is ignorance, but it's not why.

• 29:42Caleb Hammer?

Why are you here? Why are you here?

• 29:44Speaker 03

I'm here to marry you, Caleb. That's why. I need my chance.

• 29:51Caleb Hammer?

  What the?

• 29:51Speaker 03

You and your boo. I'm gonna marry you and your boo. You're like thirty-five.

• 29:57Caleb Hammer?

  I'm thirty.

• 29:58Speaker 03

Twelve years. We could be boos in another lifetime.

• 30:05Speaker 03

You could help me financially. You could pay half my rent. I'm just kidding. Um, but I really would love to marry you and your boo when you get married and propose.

• 30:15Caleb Hammer?

  Oh, you, okay.

• 30:17Speaker 03

Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha. I'm never getting married. What are you talking about, Willis? No, I will not marry you, Caleb.

• 30:23Caleb Hammer?

  By choice?

• 30:24Speaker 03

Thank you, Will. Yeah, by choice. It's good. I love other people's marriages and I love doing weddings and everything, but I feel like it might not just be for me. I'm good.

• 30:34Caleb Hammer?

  You just wanted to.

• 30:35Speaker 03

You can have a commitment without.

• 30:37Caleb Hammer?

  If you want.

• 30:37Speaker 03

Yeah. I do solo everything. Um, but you can have commitment without the marriage, for sure.

• 30:44Caleb Hammer?

Okay, well, I mean, maybe if we get there, I'll talk to you.

• 30:48Speaker 03

  It's very peaceful.

• 30:49Caleb Hammer?

Especially since I know you're charged not enough.

• 30:51Speaker 03

  Yeah, I'm free.

• 30:52Caleb Hammer?

Oh, that should be good. Oh, you're free.

• 30:54Speaker 03

  Yep.

• 30:55Caleb Hammer?

  All right.

• 30:57Speaker 03

I don't charge people that I know, like when vendors want me to do their wedding.

• 31:00Caleb Hammer?

Yep, you do this as a hobby and you're going to.

• 31:02Speaker 03

  I love it.

• 31:03Caleb Hammer?

Subsidize it. I know you love it and you also love that.

• 31:05Speaker 03

  I can't explain that enough.

• 31:06Caleb Hammer?

You don't have to. I know you like it. That's not something you have to defend.

• 31:10Speaker 03

  Yeah.

• 31:10Caleb Hammer?

It is actually very clear in your actions through subsidizing it through debt that you love it. I'm saying that might not, that's one, not sustainable for sure, especially since you don't have a dual income household situation. Whatever, that's what you choose. That's okay. I'm not judging it, but this means you have to take more responsibility on your own because it's all on you. Instead, you're just f-ing it up. So it's not about you loving it and not loving it.

• 31:32Speaker 03

  I think I'm gonna get a CPA.

• 31:34Caleb Hammer?

Yes, at a minimum would be nice.

• 31:37Speaker 03

  Cause.

• 31:37Caleb Hammer?

Cause what you might be doing. While your taxes might be illegal.

• 31:42Speaker 03

No, I mean, I hope not.

• 31:43Caleb Hammer?

You can claim anything and everything on TurboTax. It doesn't mean it's real.

• 31:47Speaker 03

But I only claim stuff that I like.

• 31:49Caleb Hammer?

Yes, but not everything's a write-off, not everything's deductible, the way you think, the way everyone thinks.

• 31:54Speaker 03

  Yes, yes, yes, got it.

• 31:55Caleb Hammer?

You will get destroyed if the IRS decides to ever.

• 31:58Speaker 03

Better get my stuff in order then.

• 32:01Caleb Hammer?

I agree. You might have to.

• 32:03Speaker 03

  It's all in my email.

• 32:04Caleb Hammer?

You might have to reamend some of those taxes, but we'll see.

• 32:06Speaker 03

  Yeah, that's fine.

• 32:07Caleb Hammer?

What do you think your finances land? Zero to 10, zero being the worst, 10 being the best?

• 32:11Speaker 03

2.4. I took it three times.

• 32:15Caleb Hammer?

Okay, very good. And what she took was the Hammer Financial Score, of which you can take for free. • 32:59Speaker 03

Sorry. Oops. The coffee's kicking in for you. I could tell by your fast talking. That's all. I will shut my mouth.

• 33:07Caleb Hammer?

Well, no, it's okay. I just didn't know what you're saying because I was talking.

• 33:10Speaker 03

  I know, I'm sorry.

• 33:11Caleb Hammer?

Okay, uh, oh, City Strata premiere. I don't know the Strata premiere. I've never done the Strata premiere. Is this also Fat Stack? Maybe we're doing another Fat Stack week. This is crazy.

• 33:22Speaker 03

  It's all one card.

• 33:23Caleb Hammer?

Ton. This is not all one card, but this is crazy. This is a ton of paperwork. We're gonna be here for a thousand years. City Strata, what is this? • 34:37Speaker 03

  It's a credit card.

• 34:37Caleb Hammer?

I know. What the you're using it for? What is going on with this card? Girl, you've seen the show.

• 34:42Speaker 03

That card, I currently don't use it for anything. I did put two balance transfers. Well, technically three, but one was paid off. So right now, there's one on that statement.

• 34:55Caleb Hammer?

  What do you mean?

• 34:56Speaker 03

Like, that $3,000 that you see is a previous balance transfer that's at 0% till January 2026.

• 35:05Caleb Hammer?

Okay, well, interest is accruing on here.

• 35:08Speaker 03

  Is it?

• 35:09Caleb Hammer?

  Yes!

• 35:14Caleb Hammer?

  Oh.

• 35:15Speaker 03

  How much for that month?

• 35:17Caleb Hammer?

  Four, $5.

• 35:19Speaker 03

  Oh.

• 35:20Caleb Hammer?

So it's from a previous one where the 0% must have ended.

• 35:23Speaker 03

  Maybe I-

• 35:24Caleb Hammer?

  You owe $3,254.95.

• 35:29Speaker 03

  Yes.

• 35:30Caleb Hammer?

Okay. How long does this take to pay off? If you do minimum monthly payments only.

• 35:36Speaker 03

  Oh.

• 35:37Caleb Hammer?

Without purchasing anything, which historically you're likely incapable of knowing how much you spend money. But yeah, let's see.

• 35:43Speaker 03

  11 team years.

• 35:46Speaker 03

  I don't know.

• 35:47Caleb Hammer?

  Millennial bullshit.

• 35:48Speaker 03

  I don't know. So therefore.

• 35:50Caleb Hammer?

Listen, again, she's lovely, just like the other person that was the quirky millennial bullshit. I got called out for being mean to that person, but you have no idea if you're just trying to have a conversation on the show and they're bringing in their quirky millennial bullshit. It is very obnoxious on this side of the table because it's interesting to see as the audience doesn't mean I have to enjoy it.

• 36:11Speaker 03

  Wah.

• 36:13Caleb Hammer?

Ha, ha, ha. How many years, lady?

• 36:15Speaker 03

Okay, so let's see. Thirty two hundred divided by minimum payment X times four.

• 36:26Speaker 03

Hold on, for real, though. Like, ten years.

• 36:30Caleb Hammer?

Twelve, close. I want to fact check you're not spending. Pull up the statement on your phone.

• 36:35Speaker 03

  Oh, yeah.

• 36:35Caleb Hammer?

The current, what, what it shows right now.

• 36:38Speaker 03

  Okay.

• 36:38Caleb Hammer?

  Like, I.

• 36:38Speaker 03

Damn, this would have been so much better on my computer.

• 36:41Caleb Hammer?

  Believe that you're.

• 36:42Speaker 03

Listen, I'm not lying. You act like I'm lying about.

• 36:46Caleb Hammer?

Well, lying out of intention, I don't know, but ignorance throughout this, everything I've picked up in the, what, thirty-five minutes we've been filming, yeah.

• 37:03Caleb Hammer?

  This is this city, Strata.

• 37:06Speaker 03

I know, because I did a balance transfer offer. Another one, another, a separate one.

• 37:11Caleb Hammer?

  Seven thousand dollars.

• 37:12Speaker 03

Yeah, because I did a balance transfer offer.

• 37:14Caleb Hammer?

  So this is new?

• 37:15Speaker 03

Yes. And it's like zero percent.

• 37:17Caleb Hammer?

The debt's worse. The debt is worse.

• 37:20Speaker 03

It is, but it was moved from one card to another.

• 37:22Caleb Hammer?

Great, which opened up the ability to spend on that card.

• 37:26Speaker 03

  No.

• 37:27Caleb Hammer?

  Yeah.

• 37:27Speaker 03

  Because it's paid off.

• 37:28Caleb Hammer?

  No, no.

• 37:29Speaker 03

So therefore, I'm not using it.

• 37:32Speaker 03

Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. It's at zero. That's, yeah.

• 37:34Caleb Hammer?

Yes, but then it also gives you the ability to purchase. When you don't have money because you spend more than you make, oh my, oh geez.

• 37:42Speaker 03

I've been trying not to use the cards that are at zero.

• 37:45Caleb Hammer?

I'm thrilled that you're trying not to. She spends $2,000 more than she makes.

• 37:49Speaker 03

It used to be a lot better.

• 37:50Caleb Hammer?

So it's no longer $3,254? It is actually at $6,964.59, which by the way is only $500 from the limit.

• 38:01Speaker 03

Yeah, and they keep sending me balance transfer offers. I'm like, dude, I have no monies. I cannot do another one. Thank you.

• 38:08Caleb Hammer?

Oh my, okay. Oh, she's millennial, millennial, millennial, millennial.

• 38:13Speaker 03

What are you? Are you a millennial?

• 38:14Caleb Hammer?

By a year, I'm the last one.

• 38:16Speaker 03

Are you a zoomer? You seem like a zoomer.

• 38:18Caleb Hammer?

Millennial. I'm the final millennial, but it's not like, it's just.

• 38:22Speaker 03

  That explains the problem.

• 38:23Caleb Hammer?

No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no. I don't even do the gender bullshit, because the gender bullshit is nothing. There's nothing scientific, there's nothing, whatever. We just, as humans, we love to categorize things. I'm more of the belief you're, you're not aligned with your generation. You're aligned with people 10 years older than you, 10 years younger than you. Those are the people you're similar to. Those are the people that you grew up cultural wise. Other than that, it doesn't matter. And clearly, you know, you are outside of that range. And, but either way, just the stereotypes, you were doing the full stereotypes. What is the normal monthly payment now?

• 38:53Speaker 03

Pardon me? What's the average monthly payment?

• 38:56Caleb Hammer?

What is the normal monthly payment now that the balance is gone up?

• 39:00Speaker 03

  Like $75 a month?

• 39:02Caleb Hammer?

Okay, so it's gone from 41 to 75. Very good. Take your phone.

• 39:07Caleb Hammer?

I don't want to catch the millennial disease.

• 39:10Speaker 03

  I know. Cooties. Girl cooties.

• 39:18Speaker 03

Can I pull up my bank account for you?

• 39:20Caleb Hammer?

No, no, no, stop. We will get there.

• 39:22Speaker 03

I'm obsessed at this point. Can't think back to it.

• 39:25Caleb Hammer?

  Stop. Please.

• 39:29Caleb Hammer?

First of all, $270 of fees this year so far, which is now probably $500 because of your other new balance transfer. Interest is never a coin. Yeah, $269.70 of interest this year. Great. That is occurring from only a $278.45 balance.

• 39:47Caleb Hammer?

And that was a separate balance transfer offer.

• 39:51Speaker 03

  Yeah.

• 39:52Caleb Hammer?

Okay. And by the way, it's just two months, two months in the $3,708 from the past month, not even your new month, is when that that starts to create interest. So that has started to create interest in two months.

• 40:08Speaker 03

  Yes.

• 40:08Caleb Hammer?

Actually, from this exact date, less than two months. Great. And then with what you just put on is probably coming up in like, what, six months, three months, four months? I don't know. So this is, it's not like this is great. You're certainly not paying this off with the way you spend money, the way you live your life, the way you subsidize yourself on debt. You are not paying this off by the time it starts accruing interest. There's no way.

• 40:28Speaker 03

  Yeah.

• 40:29Caleb Hammer?

Less than two months. Good the clock. What was your plan with this card? What was your grand plan?

• 40:33Speaker 03

Probably do another balance transfer offer.

• 40:37Caleb Hammer?

And tell how long that's not possible.

• 40:39Speaker 03

  Yeah, I know. That's.

• 40:41Caleb Hammer?

  And then what?

• 40:43Caleb Hammer?

You're endless kick the count down the road and let fees and interest accrue over time. Because even if you're balance transferring before interest accrues in less than two months, you're still getting these $250 fees every time you're hitting these things.

• 40:54Speaker 03

  Yeah.

• 40:55Caleb Hammer?

So you're just getting that every few months. So no matter what, I mean, it's like you're accruing interest regardless with how often you're doing it. So this, this doesn't make financial sense and your debt is getting worse and you're doing nothing to even pay it off. This makes no sense to me.

• 41:11Caleb Hammer?

Yeah, I mean, I'm being told then just you've done it two times with a certain debt alone, just like boom, boom, boom. And now you're doing it a third time. You're about to do it a fourth time. This is just insane. You're not a credit card person. Why do you use credit cards?

• 41:23Speaker 03

  Um, so.

• 41:24Caleb Hammer?

It matters to save your life.

• 41:27Speaker 03

The problem is. Like I got my first credit card when I was like 20 years old. So

• 41:33Caleb Hammer?

  Later than most at 18.

• 41:34Speaker 03

No, I know. Yeah. It was one of those cards where you like, it was secured.

• 41:39Caleb Hammer?

Why are you using them today?

• 41:40Speaker 03

Yeah, I'm telling you. So basically from that age to like my late 30s, I was a credit card person. All of my credit cards, when I put money on them, I would pay it down and whatever. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. So what had happened was I went on a trip to Africa.

• 42:01Speaker 03

At the time I could afford it.

• 42:03Caleb Hammer?

Your ginger ass can't handle that sun.

• 42:05Speaker 03

It was great. I went in the winter. So technically it was our summer, but it was their winter.

• 42:09Caleb Hammer?

  So South Africa.

• 42:11Speaker 03

  No, I went to Tanzania.

• 42:14Speaker 03

It's beautiful. You should go. You should take your boo there. She would love it. I stayed in a tree house on my birthday.

• 42:23Caleb Hammer?

I cost us on the ground.

• 42:25Speaker 03

Yeah, it was great though. And they had an outdoor shower. It was super cool.

• 42:29Caleb Hammer?

  Very modern country.

• 42:30Speaker 03

Water. Yeah, it was neat. No, they had indoor shower too. Um, so anyway.

• 42:38Speaker 00

• 43:07Speaker 03

I bought this freaking safari and then at the time I had zero car payment. I had my car paid off that I paid off in like two years. I was so proud of myself because back then I had

• 43:20Speaker 03

more money and my rent was like $1,100 back then. So then I got in a car accident. So I had a car payment. So then that reduced some of the money I was bringing in or, you know, more money going out.

• 43:33Caleb Hammer?

I believe they call Orlando the Tanzania of Florida.

• 43:36Speaker 03

It is. There's freaking giraffes everywhere and alligators. Except Tanzania has crocodiles. Lol. Okay, anyway, I forgot I'm quirky millennial. Ooh. That's what I'm gonna dress up for is Halloween. It's quirky, but it's gonna look like you.

• 43:57Speaker 03

Sorry. So anyway, I used to be a credit card person. I used to pay him off all the time. I got him to my safari debt. I saw all the freaking...

• 44:06Caleb Hammer?

  I don't give a...

• 44:06Speaker 03

Okay, I'm sorry. You keep, um, distracting me.

• 44:10Caleb Hammer?

  No, you're blaming a safari.

• 44:12Speaker 03

  Yeah, so I...

• 44:13Caleb Hammer?

For this, for fifty-five thousand dollars of debt, which is now higher?

• 44:16Speaker 03

So, credit card and loan debt is like, what, twenty-six thousand dollars? And then my car payment is the other twenty-four thousand dollars, right?

• 44:26Caleb Hammer?

  You got more on credit...

• 44:28Speaker 03

No, sorry. I thought you were...

• 44:30Caleb Hammer?

  Away! Away!

• 44:30Speaker 03

  Ah! Don't get by me.

• 44:33Caleb Hammer?

Oh yeah, yeah, stop touching my [BLEEP] dude.

• 44:34Speaker 03

Just like my mom, I'm telling you.

• 44:36Caleb Hammer?

Yeah, it's almost like you should have learned your lesson.

• 44:38Speaker 03

Ah, I didn't. I'm even worse now. Thanks, Mom.

• 44:42Caleb Hammer?

Okay, so you did not answer my question by any means. Great. Okay, wonderful.

• 44:46Speaker 03

Oh, no, yeah. So I used to be a credit card person. I used to pay it down. I did this trip. Then, I... My freaking engine blew, so I had to get another car. I bought this Honda CR-V that I love, and it's beautiful and amazing. And so my car payment went up like double. Then, my landlord wouldn't fix my toilet, and I'm living like white trash over here in this apartment. So I got a house to live in. And so now it's all over the place. Like, I have no...

• 45:15Caleb Hammer?

Oh, what the [BLEEP] kind of coke-ass excuses are these?

• 45:17Speaker 03

Oh, yeah. Oh, no, it's not an excuse. This is the reason. Because I spend, and I'm not able to pay it off.

• 45:25Caleb Hammer?

You're not a credit card person. Use the FIS card, debit card that builds credit.

• 45:28Speaker 03

  Got it.

• 45:29Caleb Hammer?

And if you also decide to ever get a job that [BLEEP] makes money...

• 45:31Speaker 03

  No.

• 45:32Caleb Hammer?

  Um...

• 45:33Speaker 03

  No, thank you.

• 45:34Caleb Hammer?

Then I will gift you a course career certification.

• 45:36Speaker 03

Oh, I'll do that. Yeah, I wanted to do accounting. I was looking at it the other day.

• 45:39Caleb Hammer?

Accounting, I'll get you it for free!

• 45:41Speaker 03

  Yes!

• 45:43Caleb Hammer?

Okay, yeah, so all that interest is about to start accruing like crazy. Balance is higher than it... The statements you sent in, so that's wonderful. Okay, Capital One Venture, what's going on here, lady?

• 45:53Speaker 03

I got a lot of auto pays on that, so I pay my insurance.

• 45:57Caleb Hammer?

  $1,391.68 of auto pays?

• 46:01Speaker 03

  I mean, maybe.

• 46:02Caleb Hammer?

Cause that was the purchases you did.

• 46:03Speaker 03

  Yeah.

• 46:04Caleb Hammer?

By the way, is substantially more than you put towards the card in terms of any kind of payment. Oh, it's maxed out. That's wonderful. Well done. $29.08 of interest accruing. She looks confused that I say maxed out. You're right. Technically, there's a $30 thing on there. You go to McDonald's one and a half times.

• 46:20Speaker 03

I just didn't. Oh, yeah. My Capital One. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. That is. Sorry. I get my credit cards confused because I got a lot.

• 46:27Caleb Hammer?

Yep. We really trust the savings thing. You're really adamant about. $4,957.82 is the balance of the minimum monthly payment of $78. So what's actually going on with this? It's not just minimum monthly payments. There's no way, unless your minimum monthly payments are insane. Your auto payments are.

• 46:44Speaker 03

$4,100 is a balance transfer offer. Yes, I'm the queen.

• 46:49Caleb Hammer?

  Dude.

• 46:50Speaker 03

  For nine months.

• 46:51Caleb Hammer?

Doesn't make sense. You're just, you're never making progress in your life whatsoever.

• 46:57Caleb Hammer?

No, legitimately. You're okay with that?

• 46:59Speaker 03

  No.

• 47:00Caleb Hammer?

Then why do you do it? Cause you're doing it. You're choosing to do it. You just did it. I just saw your phone. Since you sent the statements and you've literally done it.

• 47:07Speaker 03

So I actually didn't realize how bad my debt was until I, yeah, until I pulled everything and I calculated it.

• 47:14Caleb Hammer?

  Oh.

• 47:15Speaker 03

Thought it was like, to be honest, like 12,000 or less debt of, of credit, of bad credit card debt.

• 47:22Caleb Hammer?

How are you so off? How are you so off?

• 47:25Speaker 03

Well, the bad credit card debt's like $21,000, right? Cause I just, it was like I was blind to it. It was like I go online and I see my accounts and I pay off my accounts and stuff. Or not pay them off, but I paid towards my accounts, but I just wasn't, it was like I wasn't taking it in.

• 47:43Caleb Hammer?

Credit card debt that you then transfer on European trips, Amsterdam, Paris, Dublin, and then your, your stupid African trip.

• 47:51Speaker 03

  Yeah.

• 47:52Caleb Hammer?

A couple of years ago. This is just crazy. You're traveling endlessly. How often are your travels? And then you've spent it all on a card. Let it sit there. Don't do anything other than the minimum payment until the interest starts to occur and then you transfer it. Which is do that over and over again until you can't.

• 48:06Speaker 03

  Yes, that is the goal.

• 48:08Caleb Hammer?

That's the goal. I thought you said you didn't like it.

• 48:11Speaker 03

  I don't, I was.

• 48:12Caleb Hammer?

Then why do you do it? You have not answered that question. Why do you do it? Hi, listen here, financial audit. I've curated the exact resources and tools I personally use or would use if I was in certain situations. So take advantage of these offers in the resources section in the description below. You will not regret any of these change your life today.

• 49:36Speaker 03

Cause in the moment, instead of paying that $60 a month for month after month, you do the balance transfer offer and it's like 1% transfer fee. So you pay like $200.

• 49:49Caleb Hammer?

  That's insane though.

• 49:50Speaker 03

Well, you pay the 200 and then if you

• 49:56Speaker 03

if you have four months, okay, I was.

• 49:59Caleb Hammer?

You don't pay it off in time for any kind of.

• 50:01Speaker 03

Oh, I see what you mean. Yes, yes, yes, yes.

• 50:03Caleb Hammer?

What do you mean? What else did I? Okay, fine. No, no, no, no, no. So listen, you literally just did this before coming on the show. You took that action.

• 50:11Speaker 03

  Yes.

• 50:13Caleb Hammer?

  Walk me through that moment.

• 50:14Speaker 03

Oh, wait, what did I do before we came?

• 50:16Caleb Hammer?

Oh, you just transferred to the previous card, you.

• 50:20Caleb Hammer?

You tit, listen, you just transferred because remember?

• 50:23Speaker 03

Oh, that city card. I'm so sorry. I thought you were talking about the Capital One. We're all over the place here and I'm already all over the place.

• 50:30Caleb Hammer?

Walk me through it. You made that decision to just do that before coming on the show where you knew you'd be called out for it? Even though you yourself are saying you do not like doing it and you do not want to do it.

• 50:41Speaker 03

It's a necessary evil at this point because I've gotten in the cycle. So I'm cycling through it. I'm an experienced person. And I grew up Jehovah's Witness. I was in a cult. Now I'm out. White trash Jehovah's Witness cult. I've succeeded. I mean,

• 51:04Speaker 03

I don't have any broken down cars in my yard.

• 51:08Caleb Hammer?

  Oh.

• 51:09Speaker 03

  Do you?

• 51:10Caleb Hammer?

  No.

• 51:11Speaker 03

Good. Don't you hate when people park up by their front door, like in their yard? It's a Florida thing.

• 51:17Caleb Hammer?

  Very weird.

• 51:18Speaker 03

  Yeah.

• 51:18Caleb Hammer?

I don't live in those areas.

• 51:19Speaker 03

The old apartment I lived in, that's the kind of area it was in.

• 51:23Caleb Hammer?

  Yes. Very good.

• 51:25Speaker 03

  Slum lords.

• 51:26Caleb Hammer?

  Right.

• 51:29Speaker 03

  Yeah, it's good time.

• 51:30Caleb Hammer?

Oh, this is where you learn your tax strategies from your dad?

• 51:32Speaker 03

  Oh, yeah.

• 51:33Caleb Hammer?

Your dad's never paid taxes because he's Jehovah's Witness?

• 51:35Speaker 03

No, I mean, I don't think they correlate. I think he just didn't pay taxes.

• 51:39Caleb Hammer?

That's what was just typed to me.

• 51:40Speaker 03

Oh, I mean, I think it's two separate things.

• 51:44Caleb Hammer?

  He's never paid his taxes.

• 51:45Speaker 03

As far as I know, he didn't.

• 51:46Caleb Hammer?

  I know you're in chat.

• 51:47Speaker 03

Oh, wait a second. I know that he did because he worked for Disney, like helping build 20,000, 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea. So back in the day, maybe he did. But as far as I know, when he had his own business, like growing up, as far as I know, he did not pay taxes because when I went to go sign up for college, they need your parents' tax return. So that's when I learned because my mom never had a job where she could pay taxes. It was always like under the table kind of thing. So I've. I learned from them to file my taxes. I know that it's super important.

• 52:22Caleb Hammer?

Okay, gotcha. Let's see your purchases that were done on here. Our auto renews or whatever you said.

• 52:30Speaker 03

Oh, you're gonna love this. It's gonna be great.

• 52:32Caleb Hammer?

I'm sure I will. I'm so excited. PayPal and Hulu, Paramount, what the, why are you getting Paramount, dude? Boxi, Charm Biffy.

• 52:42Speaker 03

  Yipsy.

• 53:04Speaker 03

It's for Halloween Horror Nights, which is a must.

• 53:07Caleb Hammer?

  What?

• 53:08Speaker 03

It's a must. I must see you in the fog. Don't go alone. Except I go alone.

• 53:14Caleb Hammer?

  I don't know what you're saying!

• 53:17Speaker 03

  Taglines from Halloween Horror Nights.

• 53:18Caleb Hammer?

Oh, [__] you're terminally online, aren't you? Because you're so alone.

• 53:21Speaker 03

  Yeah.

• 53:22Caleb Hammer?

  I hear it.

• 53:23Speaker 03

  Mm-hmm.

• 53:26Speaker 03

  I'm online watching this show.

• 53:28Caleb Hammer?

Well, thank you. I appreciate it. Listen, again, that's nothing, nothing's wrong with being alone. Alone, alone's great if you choose to do it.

• 53:33Speaker 03

Oh, I love it. It's good.

• 53:34Caleb Hammer?

Everyone's journey is their own. I support everyone's choice to do whatever they want to do. It's not bad. It's not sad. I don't give, you live your life. But I can tell through your language that you do not spend a single second not in front of a screen.

• 53:46Speaker 03

I mean, I just watch a lot of-

• 53:48Caleb Hammer?

Except for Halloween Horror Nights where you spent $800.

• 53:50Speaker 03

I watch a lot of YouTube, like, true crime videos, so I'm always on YouTube.

• 53:56Caleb Hammer?

World Market, and there's Premium, yes she is, and Miller's Ale House Forder.

• 54:01Speaker 03

Miller's Ale House? It was food.

• 54:05Caleb Hammer?

Great, so just bullshit, bullshit, bullshit all day. There's your $255 of fees because of your transfer at one point, at some point this year, and then $46.95 of interest.

• 54:17Caleb Hammer?

Oh, and Little Sisters, I don't know if I said that.

• 54:19Speaker 03

What? What was the last thing? Okay, not important. I've already been three times and it's magnificent. It's a past.

• 54:28Caleb Hammer?

You've been. Get out of debt instead. You wanna stop the transfers, maybe? I mean, what do you mean, maybe?

• 54:37Speaker 03

  I can't fight you.

• 54:38Caleb Hammer?

  Huh?

• 54:39Speaker 03

  I said, I can't fight you. Yeah.

• 54:41Caleb Hammer?

Yeah, cuz that's the most basic ass thing you could do. Don't spend $700 you don't have. What was it? Yeah, $750 you don't have. You'll spend money there. You'll get food, you'll get drinks.

• 54:52Speaker 03

I don't spend. No, I don't. I buy candy, so I'll buy like three or $4 worth of the bowl candy. Their food's not really worth it, to be honest with you.

• 55:01Caleb Hammer?

No, it's not, but neither is going when you've already been and you have debt that is accruing at 30% interest.

• 55:07Speaker 03

  Yeah.

• 55:07Caleb Hammer?

And a lot of more debts are gonna be start accruing at 30% interest, starting in literally just like a few weeks from now.

• 55:13Speaker 03

  November 1st?

• 55:14Caleb Hammer?

November 1st. Spooky season will be done.

• 55:18Speaker 03

  I know.

• 55:19Caleb Hammer?

  Yours will just be starting.

• 55:20Speaker 03

  I'll be sad.

• 55:24Speaker 03

  Womp womp.

• 55:28Caleb Hammer?

  And she's.

• 55:29Speaker 03

  Oh, no.

• 55:30Caleb Hammer?

  Throwing out womp womps.

• 55:31Speaker 03

Womp womp. That's my life. My motto. My theme song.

• 55:35Caleb Hammer?

I'm gonna die. My theme song after filming an episode like this sounds like a trigger being pulled. Affirm.

• 55:43Speaker 03

Gun jokes in Texas. Wah. We got him in Florida, too.

• 55:47Caleb Hammer?

  Yeah.

• 55:48Speaker 03

Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. I ain't hatin'.

• 55:50Caleb Hammer?

Oh, good. We owe $500 on some affirm, but it started at 6,000. What was it? Nair my plastic surgeon? What did you get? You look your age. What's been done?

• 56:02Speaker 03

  Maybe I had a facelift.

• 56:05Speaker 03

No, don't make a joke. Um, I didn't want you to be like, clearly you're doing it, or you're ugly, or whatever.

• 56:12Caleb Hammer?

No, you just literally look your age. So I'm like, what happened?

• 56:14Speaker 03

Um, so I got a tummy tuck. I skipped my yearly vacation last year, and I got a tummy tuck in December.

• 56:21Caleb Hammer?

Is that, is that the little skin removal?

• 56:23Speaker 03

  Mm-hmm.

• 56:24Caleb Hammer?

  So you lost weight?

• 56:26Speaker 03

  I was.

• 56:28Speaker 03

  Not recently.

• 56:29Caleb Hammer?

  But a long time ago.

• 56:30Speaker 03

Yeah. I flexed. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.

• 56:33Caleb Hammer?

You're flapping skin. Flaps and skin, okay.

• 56:35Speaker 03

Flappies. My flaps were flapping. I know. I shouldn't have said that. I know. That can be the thumbnail.

• 56:45Caleb Hammer?

Again, age gap. Listen, age gap.

• 56:48Speaker 03

  Well.

• 56:52Caleb Hammer?

  I'll, I'll do 10 years.

• 56:53Speaker 03

I'll say, um, with the tummy talk, the, so not only did it make my stomach look and I just feel so much better about myself, even though I'm like the only one that sees me naked.

• 57:04Caleb Hammer?

  Or $6,000.

• 57:06Speaker 03

Seven thousand technically. No, I don't date. No, I'm good.

• 57:09Caleb Hammer?

When's the last time you've been with someone?

• 57:11Speaker 03

  Ew, like three years ago.

• 57:14Caleb Hammer?

Desperation or just like, ooh, let's try to live life a little.

• 57:17Speaker 03

I guess it was desperation. Let's call it that.

• 57:19Caleb Hammer?

  Why'd you do it?

• 57:20Speaker 03

It was the long con. We can save it for the after show if you want. It's a story. I told her. Did I tell you? No, I think I told another girl. I've been telling people.

• 57:32Caleb Hammer?

You think all gingers look alike?

• 57:33Speaker 03

People need to know. No, I just was telling somebody today, so I just got it with her. No, oh my God, no, I'm good.

• 57:39Caleb Hammer?

You have not met a person in three years.

• 57:42Speaker 03

Eleven. I've been single for 11 years. And I met one person three years ago. And then been finned.

• 57:50Caleb Hammer?

This is a finance show, so we're gonna talk about her sex life.

• 57:55Caleb Hammer?

  What made that happen?

• 57:57Speaker 03

It was the long con, so we were friends for years.

• 58:02Caleb Hammer?

  Was it Mickey?

• 58:02Speaker 03

And then he got a divorce. Mickey Mouse.

• 58:05Caleb Hammer?

  Oh, you fucked your friend?

• 58:07Speaker 03

He, we were hanging out together for months and then.

• 58:11Caleb Hammer?

  Was it a one timer?

• 58:12Speaker 03

  No, we started hooking up.

• 58:16Speaker 03

  Technically, I did.

• 58:17Caleb Hammer?

Whoa. So seven years of dry spell were like.

• 58:22Speaker 03

No, nine years at that time.

• 58:24Caleb Hammer?

  Yikes.

• 58:25Speaker 03

And he totally took advantage and really screwed me over like crazy.

• 58:29Caleb Hammer?

What does that even mean? What, it was screwing over? You were just.

• 58:34Speaker 03

I think we should save this for the after show.

• 58:36Caleb Hammer?

We'll save this for the post show is what it's called. Okay.

• 58:38Speaker 03

  Oh, sorry.

• 58:38Caleb Hammer?

If you want the rest of the tea, we'll save it for the after show.

• 58:42Speaker 03

  It's a good one. It's a good one.

• 58:45Caleb Hammer?

  I hope so.

• 58:48Speaker 03

  Unlike my credit card debt.

• 58:50Caleb Hammer?

  Okay.

• 58:50Speaker 03

Oh, but real quick with the tummy tuck. So although I look and I feel so much better.

• 58:55Caleb Hammer?

  Good.

• 58:56Speaker 03

Um, I've always had back problems, like very bad back problems. I have like an L3, whatever the hell. Since they stitch up your abs when they do the tummy tuck. I haven't had back pain in eight months. I had.

• 59:10Caleb Hammer?

  It's wonderful.

• 59:10Speaker 03

  It's amazing. Yeah.

• 59:12Caleb Hammer?

  Okay.

• 59:12Speaker 03

  Dude, it was debilitating.

• 59:13Caleb Hammer?

  Yeah, yeah.

• 59:14Speaker 03

Yeah, it was crazy. So yeah, I feel better.

• 59:17Caleb Hammer?

Can't get your back blown out when it's already blown out, right?

• 59:19Speaker 03

  LOL. That's true.

• 59:22Caleb Hammer?

  All right.

• 59:23Speaker 03

  If they do it right.

• 59:24Caleb Hammer?

Drop in literal verbal LOLs. Okay.

• 59:27Speaker 03

  LOLs.

• 59:28Caleb Hammer?

  Jeez.

• 59:29Speaker 03

So technically the tummy tuck was 10,000 all in all, including aftercare, post massages and undergarments.

• 59:37Caleb Hammer?

Since we're both millennials, let me DH myself real quick. Six, seven. Okay, we're good.

• 59:45Speaker 03

  Let's go.

• 59:48Speaker 03

He hates me. I hates me.

• 59:50Caleb Hammer?

  I don't.

• 59:51Speaker 03

I always say, nobody will ever hate me more than I hate me. So good luck.

• 59:55Caleb Hammer?

You sure about that? You sure about that?

• 59:58Speaker 03

  Kayla.

• 59:58Caleb Hammer?

  Oh, yay.

• 1:00:00Speaker 03

  I know.

• 1:00:01Caleb Hammer?

Joyful. What's your minimum monthly payment on this?

• 1:00:04Speaker 03

$500, but I have one more payment. Yeah, today, uh, this month, the 18th.

• 1:00:10Caleb Hammer?

Very good. I want to incorporate that into your minimum monthly payments then. Okay, City Simplicity, what's going on with this? City Simplicity, what's going on with this?

• 1:00:17Speaker 03

Um, I don't know. I just put a lot of charges on it.

• 1:00:20Caleb Hammer?

  Oh, good. Well done.

• 1:00:22Speaker 03

So that one is just random charges.

• 1:00:24Caleb Hammer?

You made a minimum monthly payment last time and then you purchased $607. You had a credit of three bucks, $73 of interest group.

• 1:00:34Speaker 03

  What?

• 1:00:34Caleb Hammer?

You're over the limit by $162.26. Oh, for, here it is. $4,162.26 with a minimum monthly payment. Minimum monthly payment of $277.84. Why? This takes 20 years to pay off. 20 years to pay off.

• 1:00:58Speaker 03

I've never looked at that statement.

• 1:00:59Caleb Hammer?

Great. Why would we look at statements that we are spending on?

• 1:01:02Speaker 03

  I should do that.

• 1:01:03Caleb Hammer?

You should do that because you're over the limit. You're going to get fees up to, oh my. Okay, we got some Klarna on here. We got Pure Beauty, more Klarna, Afterpay. Listen, here's the thing, here's the thing, here's the thing, let me tell you. She goes, she Afterpay, she Klarna's, okay, well done. Instead of making her payments of her Klarna Afterpay, she puts it on a credit card, she pays her debt with debt, and then she transfers that debt to another card, lets it accrue, and then all of a sudden, she pays the fee and transfers it to another credit card, and then she transfers it to another credit card, until the end of time, until she pays. One perfe- one per-

• 1:03:04Speaker 03

  That's a lot of money.

• 1:03:05Caleb Hammer?

Why are you allowed to even consider yourself to spend this much money?

• 1:03:10Speaker 03

  I don't know.

• 1:03:11Caleb Hammer?

Cards you can't pay off that is now over maxed out while you just blow all your time doing a hobby. What a joke of a life you're living right now.

• 1:03:20Speaker 03

  Yeah. I'm a clown.

• 1:03:25Caleb Hammer?

Okay, okay. So here is a judgment then, and this is more of a question than a judgment. Again, I don't care about the, uh, you know, I could be alone together forever. Like, I don't care. If we want to, if that's how we want to live, that's fine. Again, that doesn't matter.

• 1:03:39Speaker 03

I don't want to be alone forever. I've just been alone for 11 years and I'm okay with that. I'm not gonna settle.

• 1:03:46Caleb Hammer?

You suggested you were okay with.

• 1:03:47Speaker 03

Oh, I am okay with that. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. I.

• 1:03:50Caleb Hammer?

  In the future.

• 1:03:51Speaker 03

Yeah, I'm open to, I've been open, but I've been really focusing on like building.

• 1:03:55Caleb Hammer?

You've been opened three years ago, but that was the last time.

• 1:03:58Speaker 03

Yeah. That really put me in a bad way.

• 1:04:03Caleb Hammer?

In the after show, I'm asked.

• 1:04:06Speaker 03

  Post show.

• 1:04:08Caleb Hammer?

I'm asking because you're alone, which inherently is not a bad thing. Because you have no one to rely on you because you don't have that other half or anything. Do you not have as much care to clean this up? Cause you're living your life like a way where you don't give a [BLEEP]. Is there nothing to achieve? Nothing to care for? Nothing that you are ambitious towards? I don't know. Is there no incentive here?

• 1:04:40Speaker 03

There is none. And there's nobody to hold me accountable. My two cats are very bad at that.

• 1:04:45Caleb Hammer?

But I'm talking about you wanting to improve your life for a reason.

• 1:04:49Speaker 03

Yeah. Well, so, well, not only because I just didn't realize how much credit, bad credit card debt that I have, um.

• 1:04:56Caleb Hammer?

But why do you even care?

• 1:04:58Speaker 03

Because, well, it's bad. And I don't want it to get big.

• 1:05:03Caleb Hammer?

Why? Why does it matter to you?

• 1:05:05Speaker 03

Cause, uh, I just don't want it to get out of control. And I am open to like having a relationship, but I'm not trying to bring this into the, no, I'm not. Well, also, I'm not trying to bring this into the relationship. I don't want them to bring 20 or 50,000 with a car into their relationship.

• 1:05:24Caleb Hammer?

You don't like take someone's debt in a non-legal way.

• 1:05:27Speaker 03

  Yeah.

• 1:05:27Caleb Hammer?

Like when in your first year or two dating.

• 1:05:30Speaker 03

But when you date somebody, you like help each other out. So.

• 1:05:33Caleb Hammer?

Yeah, but not, not, not in like your first, at least few months.

• 1:05:37Speaker 03

  Yeah, no, no, no.

• 1:05:38Caleb Hammer?

So you can still get out there. Okay. You're just spending like nothing matters and you have no incentive to change. Cause you don't, unfortunately. Listen, we're at like a 30% interest for this.

• 1:05:50Speaker 03

  Yeah.

• 1:05:51Caleb Hammer?

  All right, built.

• 1:05:52Speaker 03

  Yes.

• 1:05:54Caleb Hammer?

This is like the rent pay card, isn't it?

• 1:05:56Speaker 03

  Yes.

• 1:05:57Caleb Hammer?

They'll sponsor us. Come on, dude.

• 1:05:59Speaker 03

Oh, my gosh. They totally should.

• 1:06:01Caleb Hammer?

  I agree. They totally should.

• 1:06:03Speaker 03

  Totally.

• 1:06:04Caleb Hammer?

Okay, well, at least you're not maxed out. $2,728.68. Oh, you purchased $4,011. You'd think it's all rent, but I have a lot of highlights below, meaning it's not all rent. Oh, $28 your minimum monthly payment.

• 1:06:22Speaker 03

I usually don't use that card.

• 1:06:23Caleb Hammer?

This one looks like it's normally paid off, so I'm... Oh, well, actually, never mind. If you normally don't, then I'm gonna actually count it towards the debt. So never mind. Keeping it. 14 years to pay off. Sorry, Draven. Taco Bell, Bath and Body Works, Margaritaville.

• 1:06:37Speaker 03

  Oh.

• 1:06:38Caleb Hammer?

  In-flight sales. OvPay. OvPay?

• 1:06:42Speaker 03

  What is that? OVPay?

• 1:06:44Caleb Hammer?

  Pay. Euro currency?

• 1:06:46Speaker 03

To go on the tram in the Netherlands.

• 1:06:48Caleb Hammer?

Oh, good death. You just did that?

• 1:06:50Speaker 03

Yeah, maybe I went in June.

• 1:06:54Speaker 03

The Margaritaville, though, was like $400, but it's only because we had a cabana, and they put it all on my card, but everybody paid me back.

• 1:07:04Caleb Hammer?

  Who's "we"?

• 1:07:05Speaker 03

"We" is a bunch of wedding vendors. We had a pool day at Margaritaville. We got cabanas, and we drank and ate and swam.

• 1:07:16Caleb Hammer?

  Tony's Chocolate, Netherlands.

• 1:07:18Speaker 03

  Tony's Chocolate's the best.

• 1:07:33Caleb Hammer?

Currency exchange, currency exchange, currency exchange, currency exchange, currency exchange, currency exchange, currency exchange, high-end residency. This is crazy. That was $1,000. You can't afford this trip. You're drowning in debt. Your business doesn't make money, and you only make $44,000, like, below the median net income for that area?

• 1:07:54Caleb Hammer?

What the fuck are you doing going on a big European trip at forty-two? Who the fuck do you think you are?

• 1:08:00Speaker 03

Queen Elizabeth. The Hyatt from Netherlands was-

• 1:08:04Caleb Hammer?

  Are you suggesting that you're-

• 1:08:06Speaker 03

Day. Um, I actually paid two nights with points, so they did refund that on the next statement.

• 1:08:13Caleb Hammer?

  Huh?

• 1:08:14Speaker 03

So the Hyatt charged for a thousand dollars?

• 1:08:17Caleb Hammer?

  No, not for, no.

• 1:08:19Speaker 03

Oh, it was for one thousand dollars. So, one night was supposed to be paid with cash and then two nights were, um, points and they messed that up, but they did credit me on my next day.

• 1:08:31Caleb Hammer?

But the whole point of this card is to pay your rent on it. You're just going and blowing all this money in Europe.

• 1:08:35Speaker 03

You, I used it as my zero percent foreign transaction fee card, so instead of-

• 1:08:40Caleb Hammer?

You're spending some money still, so, oh, there were transactions at a minimum.

• 1:08:44Speaker 03

  But the no fees.

• 1:08:45Caleb Hammer?

No fees, but you shouldn't have gone. You can't afford it in any way whatsoever.

• 1:08:48Speaker 03

  My points were expiring.

• 1:08:50Caleb Hammer?

That should have been a reward trip after you got out of debt and had a fully funded emergency fund.

• 1:08:54Speaker 03

  I'm gonna go to Antarctica.

• 1:08:55Caleb Hammer?

  Okay, that's not booked.

• 1:08:57Speaker 03

Not now. No, no, no. When I get out of debt.

• 1:09:00Caleb Hammer?

  Yeah.

• 1:09:00Speaker 03

I'm gonna get back into twenty thousand dollars debt.

• 1:09:02Caleb Hammer?

  That's more your weather.

• 1:09:03Speaker 03

Going to Antarctica. Yeah, I'm gonna wear a jacket and a cap.

• 1:09:10Speaker 03

And seal, seal skin pants, you know, the drill.

• 1:09:15Caleb Hammer?

  Okay.

• 1:09:16Speaker 03

  It's what they wear, right?

• 1:09:16Caleb Hammer?

  Stop.

• 1:09:17Speaker 03

  Okay.

• 1:09:18Caleb Hammer?

Southwest Rapid Rewards. What's going on with this lady?

• 1:09:23Speaker 03

I love Southwest. I flew them here and I will fly them home.

• 1:09:27Caleb Hammer?

I've never heard someone say they like Southwest.

• 1:09:29Speaker 03

I love Southwest. My only problem is that they don't let you choose your seat in advance, but they're starting to do that, which actually kinda sucks.

• 1:09:35Caleb Hammer?

Isn't that a pretty big thing that you would want to do?

• 1:09:37Speaker 03

Hell, yeah. I do because I like a window seat and I'd like to know where I'm sitting. Cause their customer service, like the guy yesterday when I flew here was acting like the Grinch. And it was fantastic. He was like being real mean and calling people-

• 1:09:52Caleb Hammer?

I love the Grinch in September.

Hey, I love the Grinch all year round.

• 1:09:55Caleb Hammer?

That's what I like to see leading up to nine eleven, someone going crazy on an airplane.

• 1:10:00Speaker 03

Yeah. He was being real rude, calling people needy. It was fantastic.

• 1:10:05Caleb Hammer?

It's so needy. This plane needs to go down.

• 1:10:06Speaker 03

Yeah. It wasn't the pilot, luckily. You needy bitches.

• 1:10:10Caleb Hammer?

They weren't the ones who did it.

• 1:10:12Speaker 03

Oh, yeah, that's true. It wasn't the flight attendants.

• 1:10:15Caleb Hammer?

They weren't the ones who did it.

• 1:10:16Speaker 03

Oh, yeah, you're right. It was our government.

• 1:11:15Caleb Hammer?

Forty-dollar minimum monthly payment on this? Oh, for [bleep]. Four hundred and sixty-one dollars and thirteen cents.

• 1:11:22Speaker 03

Yeah. I do the snowball method, so I'll have that paid off.

• 1:11:26Caleb Hammer?

What do you [bleep] mean when you say you do? You don't do a method.

• 1:11:30Speaker 03

I like to pay the small ones.

• 1:11:32Caleb Hammer?

You're blowing money. What? Blowing money on credit cards in Europe, you [bleep]. What is your snowball method? You've never heard of snowballs in your life, other than your Antarctica trip?

• 1:11:40Speaker 03

I like to pay the small ones first.

• 1:11:42Caleb Hammer?

What do you mean, you pay? You spent on this, you [bleep].

• 1:11:44Speaker 03

Oh, yeah, but then I pay it.

• 1:11:45Caleb Hammer?

No, you don't, not always. That's not true. This takes thirteen months to pay off. You've never heard of snowball method? You've had interest accrue this year so far. You don't always pay it back. David Ramsey does not agree with your snowball method.

• 1:11:56Speaker 03

That guy, he stole my bike.

• 1:11:59Caleb Hammer?

  David Ramsey?

• 1:12:00Speaker 03

Yeah. I don't know what his problem is.

• 1:12:05Caleb Hammer?

  He stole your bike?

• 1:12:06Speaker 03

I'm just kidding. I could've said he got me pregnant.

• 1:12:09Caleb Hammer?

What was the joke? He got you pregnant?

• 1:12:12Speaker 03

And then he stole my bike. How am I gonna get to the hospital and have this baby?

• 1:12:17Caleb Hammer?

Is this a forty-two-year-old joke that I just have never heard of before?

• 1:12:20Speaker 03

  No.

• 1:12:21Caleb Hammer?

  I've missed this one.

• 1:12:22Speaker 03

I'm bad at jokes. I try, though.

• 1:12:25Caleb Hammer?

Oh, you're okay. Honestly, just a little, you know, in this kind of conversation, that personality annoys me. And I'm okay with it outside of here. But that, it just wasn't, that, what even was that?

• 1:12:36Speaker 03

  Whenever.

• 1:12:36Caleb Hammer?

Okay, okay, okay, over here to pay off. Good, Amazon, all glammed up.

• 1:12:43Speaker 03

  Yep.

• 1:12:43Caleb Hammer?

  Dowin' curb, La Madeleine.

• 1:12:47Speaker 03

  Mm-hmm.

• 1:12:47Caleb Hammer?

Going in and getting some bull, going in and getting some bull.

• 1:12:50Speaker 03

  French pastries. Wee-wee.

• 1:12:53Caleb Hammer?

  Okay.

• 1:12:57Caleb Hammer?

Okay, yeah, sure. Pull up your Amazon for me, if you may, please.

• 1:13:03Speaker 03

So we do share, so I use my work through my day job, my full-time office job. We have the Amazon.

• 1:13:13Caleb Hammer?

How many? Well, I wouldn't know what's yours, then. Tell me what's yours.

• 1:13:17Speaker 03

Well, I buy scar tape for my scar.

• 1:13:22Caleb Hammer?

  How big is it?

• 1:13:23Speaker 03

  My scar?

• 1:13:24Caleb Hammer?

So you have to wear it constantly?

• 1:13:26Speaker 03

It's scar tape, so it helps get rid of your scar.

• 1:13:28Caleb Hammer?

  Will it?

• 1:13:29Speaker 03

Yeah, I hope so. Because I also use the cream with it. That's what my doctor recommended. Oh, I bought air filters for my house.

• 1:13:36Caleb Hammer?

  Okay.

• 1:13:37Speaker 03

I bought, wow, we buy a lot of stuff. Oh, I bought a hand passing cord, where the couple will have their hands tied together when they, um... Oh, I bought a filter for my car.

• 1:13:49Caleb Hammer?

  That weirdy did that.

• 1:13:51Speaker 03

Oh, no, I'm sorry. I bought AC filters for my house, and then I bought a cabin air filter for my car. Wow, we, okay.

• 1:13:58Caleb Hammer?

You endlessly pay a shit-ton of money on Southwest to go to South Dakota?

• 1:14:02Speaker 03

  I love South Dakota.

• 1:14:05Caleb Hammer?

  What are you?

• 1:14:07Speaker 03

I love it. It's my home away from home. You can get a really good deal going

• 1:14:12Caleb Hammer?

  Cause it's South Dakota.

• 1:14:13Speaker 03

Orlando to Denver and then you rent a car in Denver and you drive up to South Dakota.

• 1:14:18Caleb Hammer?

  Not close.

• 1:14:19Speaker 03

Yeah, it's like three or four hours. It's three and a half hours.

• 1:14:22Caleb Hammer?

  Okay.

• 1:14:24Speaker 03

To get to South Dakota from Denver.

• 1:14:25Caleb Hammer?

  The border.

• 1:14:26Speaker 03

Way better than fly. No, to get to the Black Hills of South Dakota where I go. Near Mount Rushmore.

• 1:14:31Caleb Hammer?

  You always.

• 1:14:32Speaker 03

  Custer State Park.

• 1:14:33Caleb Hammer?

  Orlando, Africa.

• 1:14:36Speaker 03

  Yeah, what?

• 1:14:37Caleb Hammer?

  Black Hills.

• 1:14:38Speaker 03

  Yeah, the Black Hills.

• 1:14:39Caleb Hammer?

I think I know your type.

• 1:14:40Speaker 03

  Yeah. What? Country? White trash?

• 1:14:44Speaker 00

• 1:15:16Caleb Hammer?

  BBC.

• 1:15:17Speaker 03

  My type. Big, whoa.

• 1:15:21Speaker 03

What? What is it? I don't know what that means. BBC.

• 1:15:25Caleb Hammer?

By the way, it's a six hour drive via the maps.

• 1:15:27Speaker 03

  It's a six hour drive?

• 1:15:28Caleb Hammer?

  She doesn't even know.

• 1:15:29Speaker 03

There's no, no. Driven it many times.

• 1:15:31Caleb Hammer?

She doesn't even know time. She doesn't even know time. Okay.

• 1:15:37Speaker 03

I could swear I drove it in four, three and a half, four hours.

• 1:15:41Caleb Hammer?

Uh, 670 miles. We clocked it six hours, two minutes if you leave right now.

• 1:15:46Speaker 03

  Interesting.

• 1:15:48Caleb Hammer?

Okay, PayPal. Business loan. Oh, you have a business loan for the business that makes no money?

• 1:15:53Speaker 03

  Yeah.

• 1:15:55Caleb Hammer?

  Oh, why?

• 1:15:57Speaker 03

  Why not?

• 1:15:58Caleb Hammer?

Cause the business makes no money.

• 1:16:00Speaker 03

  Yeah.

• 1:16:01Caleb Hammer?

  Be my why not?

• 1:16:01Speaker 03

I feel like the business does make money.

• 1:16:03Caleb Hammer?

  Oh.

• 1:16:04Speaker 03

  But I.

• 1:16:04Caleb Hammer?

Cause your taxes didn't say that, which means, which means IRS. Did you hear that? She says her business doesn't make any money when she files her taxes, but she's saying here that she actually makes money.

• 1:16:15Speaker 03

I feel like it does. But clearly I need to review.

• 1:16:20Caleb Hammer?

You feel like a six hour drive is three hours. You feel like you have money in your savings. You don't.

• 1:16:24Speaker 03

  I do.

• 1:16:25Caleb Hammer?

Well, you have money, but it's not what you think. Everything is feelings based with you. It doesn't work.

• 1:16:31Speaker 03

  Yes. What?

• 1:16:34Speaker 03

I'm sorry. I spaced out. I do that a lot.

• 1:16:39Speaker 03

I disassociate. It's the only way I get around.

• 1:16:42Caleb Hammer?

Do you go into the office for your job?

• 1:16:44Speaker 03

  No, we work from home.

• 1:16:45Caleb Hammer?

Oh, I need you to have human interaction.

• 1:16:48Speaker 03

No, I get enough at the weddings.

• 1:16:50Caleb Hammer?

I guess. That's like not normal. That's like wedding energy.

• 1:16:54Speaker 03

Yeah, it's a different person. That lady up there doing weddings is not me.

• 1:16:58Caleb Hammer?

Okay, so what's the current balance on this? I don't, I don't know. Well, you just took out so

• 1:17:02Speaker 03

  Um.

• 1:17:03Caleb Hammer?

  Five thousand dollars then.

• 1:17:04Speaker 03

  Probably like thirty seven hundred.

• 1:17:06Caleb Hammer?

  Payment?

• 1:17:07Speaker 03

  Yeah.

• 1:17:07Caleb Hammer?

It's a weekly payment. Death of a hundred one dollars eighty five cents. The interest looks like it's like fifteen.

• 1:17:15Speaker 03

I pay it with my credit card. Ah, I don't do that. Just kidding. I knew you'd love that, though. Wahahaha. It shouldn't have any weekly or monthly or any interest because I paid the one-time fee.

• 1:17:30Caleb Hammer?

Yeah, which is what that is. I'm calculating that.

• 1:17:32Speaker 03

Okay, I see what you mean.

• 1:17:33Caleb Hammer?

Four hundred seven dollars a month.

• 1:17:35Speaker 03

  Yes, sir.

• 1:17:36Caleb Hammer?

What did you take this out for?

• 1:17:38Speaker 03

To pay down my debts, my business. So I have the advertising that comes out on my one credit card. So I definitely used it for that. And then maybe other stuff. Maybe I used it to go to

• 1:17:53Caleb Hammer?

  Wait, do you not know?

• 1:17:54Speaker 03

  Europe.

• 1:17:54Caleb Hammer?

  Did you?

• 1:17:55Speaker 03

No, I didn't do that. I used my tax return.

• 1:17:58Caleb Hammer?

What did you take it out for? I'm asking you that question.

• 1:18:00Speaker 03

To pay off my debts. So I paid off credit cards. A lot of the, so my Chase bank card.

• 1:18:06Caleb Hammer?

  So well.

• 1:18:06Speaker 03

  I know.

• 1:18:08Caleb Hammer?

Doing over and over again and it's never worth once.

• 1:18:12Speaker 03

It'll happen one time. I'll get it paid down. I'm excited. I'm ready.

• 1:18:17Caleb Hammer?

  Middle aged, right?

• 1:18:20Speaker 03

  Yeah, what? And?

• 1:18:23Caleb Hammer?

Like if it's gonna happen, why hasn't it? You're still, you're in the middle of your life.

• 1:18:27Speaker 03

All of this stuff, all of this is literally after two thousand twenty-two. So I just went buck wild, apparently. I just didn't realize like how wild I was going. But I did. And here we are.

• 1:18:39Caleb Hammer?

Best buy? You have a best buy? Oh! You have a best buy card with a substantial balance? Three thousand two hundred sixty dollars and thirty cents? Why?

• 1:18:52Caleb Hammer?

What? Let me guess, you needed a laptop to send emails?

• 1:18:55Speaker 03

  No. Uh, well, I mean-

• 1:18:56Caleb Hammer?

Thirty-three dollar minimum payment, you purchased thirty-nine dollars and seventy cents for some moronic ass reason. By the way, eighteen years to pay this off, minimum payment without any purchases, which, uh, you purchased.

• 1:19:11Caleb Hammer?

  What the is going on?

• 1:19:12Speaker 03

  With the Best Buy card?

• 1:19:13Caleb Hammer?

  Yes.

• 1:19:14Speaker 03

  Um...

• 1:19:15Caleb Hammer?

Why is it a such a substantial balance? Let's start there.

• 1:19:18Speaker 03

So I did a balance transfer offer.

• 1:19:20Caleb Hammer?

Oh, okay, great. On the Best Buy card, I didn't, who uses that for the-

• 1:19:23Speaker 03

  They do that.

• 1:19:24Caleb Hammer?

And then she went to Sonic Drive-In and got gas. What the?

• 1:19:26Speaker 03

  No, I didn't. I got-

• 1:19:27Caleb Hammer?

Yes, you did, you did, it's right there!

• 1:19:29Speaker 03

Oh, I thought you meant I got gas at Sonic. I got corn dogs at Sonic.

• 1:19:32Caleb Hammer?

You can't get gas at Sonic!

• 1:19:33Speaker 03

I was wondering why you said that. I thought you said you got so- gas at Sonic.

• 1:19:38Caleb Hammer?

  Oh!

• 1:19:39Speaker 03

You just talk so fast, I can't keep up. My brain is slow.

• 1:19:43Caleb Hammer?

Ooh, you're telling me, oh, fuck.

• 1:19:46Speaker 03

Like a Sunday morning. It's just slow, you know, slow and chill.

• 1:19:53Caleb Hammer?

  It's Thursday, mother-

• 1:19:56Speaker 03

  Damn it.

• 1:19:57Caleb Hammer?

Thirty percent interest, uh, interest rate of death and stupidity and moronic behavior. Hundred fifty-one dollars to fees from the transfer. Okay, when does that interest start appearing from the big balance? Oh, good. Uh, like, five weeks.

• 1:20:11Speaker 03

Yeah. Five weeks. Oh, like, November 1st. Mm-hmm. So that card, I had a promotional offer on it from when I purchased probably my last phone a couple of years ago, and it went down to a hundred fifty dollars that I had to pay off, and I didn't notice, and I didn't pay it off, and then one day I woke up and there was twelve hundred dollars in deferred interest on my bill, and I was like, "What?" So I called them, and they took it off.

• 1:20:42Caleb Hammer?

  Really?

• 1:20:43Speaker 03

  I almost died, though.

• 1:20:44Caleb Hammer?

  You don't deserve that.

• 1:20:45Speaker 03

I don't deserve that. And the guy was so nice about it, but he said, "As long as you can pay it off right now," and I was like, "I totally will," because I didn't realize I had just that much. I didn't know I had anything left on that loan. I thought it was zero. So that was a big lesson learned.

• 1:20:59Caleb Hammer?

  Okay, USA Bank-

• 1:21:01Speaker 03

  Yep.

• 1:21:02Caleb Hammer?

  Credit card. US Bank.

• 1:21:06Caleb Hammer?

Okay, on this you owe $2,552.52, great. Not that far from max out, $78 minimum payment.

• 1:21:17Speaker 03

  Woo.

• 1:21:18Caleb Hammer?

Oh, interest, $52.52 accruing, so what are we doing with this?

• 1:21:22Speaker 03

What? Um, I honestly can't remember what I put on that card.

• 1:21:28Speaker 03

It was like a year ago.

• 1:21:30Caleb Hammer?

  It's a year ago.

• 1:21:30Speaker 03

I'm telling you, my spending, it's just...

• 1:21:33Caleb Hammer?

$82 fees this year, I don't think this has a... What is that fee for?

• 1:21:39Speaker 03

  I don't know.

• 1:21:40Caleb Hammer?

$82 fees, is that late payments?

• 1:21:42Speaker 03

  Hmm.

• 1:21:43Caleb Hammer?

  $3 of interest?

• 1:21:46Caleb Hammer?

Which means interest has just started accruing, so your interest free period on something has just ended.

• 1:21:51Speaker 03

  Yes, okay.

• 1:21:54Speaker 03

Um, I don't know what the fee is for, but I'm not really...

• 1:21:56Caleb Hammer?

So what are you gonna do, transfer this?

• 1:21:57Speaker 03

  Probably.

• 1:22:00Caleb Hammer?

Dude, this is what you do over and over again.

• 1:22:02Speaker 03

  Yeah.

• 1:22:04Caleb Hammer?

You're never gonna result in any progress in your life.

• 1:22:07Speaker 03

  Agreed.

• 1:22:08Caleb Hammer?

  Yet you do it.

• 1:22:09Speaker 03

  Yes.

• 1:22:10Caleb Hammer?

That means nothing, your agreeing with me does nothing.

• 1:22:13Speaker 03

It definitely doesn't take back all the credit card charges. Or prevent any future ones.

• 1:22:22Caleb Hammer?

Yeah, okay, Chase Ink Card, what's going on with this?

• 1:22:26Speaker 03

That's the card that my advertising goes on?

• 1:22:31Caleb Hammer?

Well, you owe 500 bucks. Yeah, you spent $2.13, yeah, interest accrues, so yes, we're gonna call this a balance. $590.90, minimum payment, $188.76.

• 1:22:48Caleb Hammer?

  Okay.

• 1:22:50Caleb Hammer?

Fees! $9.02 of fees! For what?

• 1:22:54Speaker 03

  $9? Did you say $9?

• 1:22:57Caleb Hammer?

It's last month! $69 this year! Oh, it's a plan fee, a plan fee for Airbnb?

• 1:23:03Speaker 03

  Yeah.

• 1:23:05Caleb Hammer?

And then a plan fee for a seduction?

• 1:23:07Speaker 03

That's my plastic, uh, my, um, tummy tuck. So I said it was $7,000 because I paid a $1,000. Yeah, yeah.

• 1:23:17Speaker 00

• 1:23:46Caleb Hammer?

  Oh.

• 1:23:50Caleb Hammer?

21.49% interest rate. Went and got some bullshit things in the supermarket, got some gas.

• 1:23:58Caleb Hammer?

Something at Honda, I don't know.

• 1:24:00Speaker 03

Oh, oil change, always an oil change.

• 1:24:04Speaker 03

I drive a lot, so I get, yeah.

• 1:24:06Caleb Hammer?

  What's going on with this?

• 1:24:10Speaker 03

  How much is that balance?

• 1:24:11Caleb Hammer?

  Okay, $1,014.07.

• 1:24:16Speaker 03

Oh, so that's the one that my advertising goes on. I actually don't know.

• 1:24:20Caleb Hammer?

She spent $863.11, $14.07 of interest is accruing.

• 1:24:28Caleb Hammer?

Yeah, G Suite, the not worldwide.

• 1:24:31Speaker 03

  That's advertising, yeah.

• 1:24:32Caleb Hammer?

Okay, and then the not worldwide, that's advertising, okay. $22 of interest this year so far. Okay, minimum monthly payment is...

• 1:24:41Speaker 03

Is credit card interest tax deductible on a business credit card? Cause I don't claim my interest.

• 1:24:50Speaker 03

  And you're the tax pro.

• 1:24:51Caleb Hammer?

Actually, I don't know. I'm not the tax, I'm not a tax pro.

• 1:24:52Speaker 03

I know, I was kidding, I was kidding, I was kidding. I'm gonna talk to a CPA.

• 1:24:55Caleb Hammer?

I know, lots of tax questions, but I actually don't know the answer to that.

• 1:25:01Caleb Hammer?

I mean, someone proposed at some point having all interest on credit cards being tax deductible, but I think that would be...

• 1:25:07Speaker 03

  That would be us.

• 1:25:08Caleb Hammer?

That would be ridiculous, because why the [bleep] would we allow someone's

• 1:25:12Speaker 03

  Yeah.

• 1:25:12Caleb Hammer?

behavior to be tax deductible and then all of a sudden just never paying off their debt, so stupid. And then it's just, it's just a business that would just be so beneficial to the credit card companies. Like, we're just supporting them as a country and culture, that's so weird.

• 1:25:23Speaker 03

  Yeah.

• 1:25:23Caleb Hammer?

  Like subsidizing them.

• 1:25:25Speaker 03

  Amen to that.

• 1:25:26Caleb Hammer?

I, hmm, I thought the interest itself would be tax deductible, but your payments to the card, maybe, no? Cause then you're spent, mm.

• 1:25:36Caleb Hammer?

Interest you pay on a credit card is deductible as a business expense if the charges on that card were used solely for a business purpose.

• 1:25:41Speaker 03

  Wow, that's awesome.

• 1:25:43Caleb Hammer?

Well, sole proprietor, checked it on Schedule C.

• 1:25:48Speaker 03

  That's what I file, Schedule C.

• 1:25:51Caleb Hammer?

Okay, so, yeah, you should be doing quarterly, by the way.

• 1:25:55Speaker 03

Oh, okay, I will. Two quarters.

• 1:25:59Caleb Hammer?

Late fees are not tax deductible, though.

• 1:26:00Speaker 03

  Yeah. Okay.

• 1:26:03Caleb Hammer?

Why wouldn't everyone just, okay. Okay, Freedom Card, what's going on with this?

• 1:26:10Speaker 03

Freedom. Um, I just have one recurring charge on that.

• 1:26:15Caleb Hammer?

Great, $125, but you don't pay it all off. $204 is owed and 81 cents, minimum monthly payment, 25 bucks. So all you put towards the last time, then allowed that recurring charge to hit. $4.81 of interest. That is a medical spa. Something critical when we can't afford life.

• 1:26:35Speaker 03

  Correct.

• 1:26:38Caleb Hammer?

Honda. Oh, this is your car, you're driving everywhere, right?

• 1:26:43Speaker 03

Yes, sir. It's got 74,000 miles on it now, and I got it when it was six miles.

• 1:26:50Caleb Hammer?

  Okay. Good.

• 1:26:52Speaker 03

  In two years.

• 1:26:54Caleb Hammer?

Well, you owe $27,124.90. Interest rate of what?

• 1:27:01Speaker 03

  Six, five point.

• 1:27:03Caleb Hammer?

Yeah, okay. Not the most horrendous thing in the world, not thrilled with the depreciating asset. $551.60 is your minimum monthly payment, that's kind of sucks for your income situation, for sure. What do you think it's worth?

• 1:27:16Speaker 03

  Um, so, cash, 26. Trade-in, 21 to 23.

• 1:27:22Caleb Hammer?

  I got cash 24, but...

• 1:27:23Speaker 03

Oh, that sucks. I Kelly Blue booked it, like...

• 1:27:26Caleb Hammer?

  So did we.

• 1:27:26Speaker 03

Oh, weird, okay. Um, yeah, they keep trying to email me.

• 1:27:30Caleb Hammer?

I mean, if you go up on the higher end, but if you bring in the low end and then do in the middle, it's about 24.

• 1:27:35Speaker 03

Yeah, I mean, I couldn't private sell it anyway, I'd have to trade it in or something.

• 1:27:40Caleb Hammer?

Okay, well, this minimum monthly payment is substantial for your income.

• 1:27:44Speaker 03

  For sure.

• 1:27:45Caleb Hammer?

Breaks the, every rule in the book. What is that, $511.60?

• 1:27:51Speaker 03

I figured if it hit the fan, I could live in it.

• 1:27:55Caleb Hammer?

  Uh, you might have to.

• 1:27:56Speaker 03

  My standards are pretty low.

• 1:27:57Caleb Hammer?

  Literally 21% of your income.

• 1:27:59Speaker 03

  Yeah.

• 1:28:02Caleb Hammer?

  Why don't you trade down?

• 1:28:04Speaker 03

Maybe, but I love it. It was the best thing that ever happened to me. Which tells you how sad my life is. Ah! The best thing that ever happened to me was... I got to do a wedding in Alaska on a glacier.

• 1:28:20Caleb Hammer?

I don't care, that's not this conversation, that's not this conversation.

• 1:28:23Speaker 03

You can get married there too.

• 1:28:24Caleb Hammer?

  This is not...

• 1:28:25Speaker 03

So I have been car shopping our car... Blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. I've been car shopping on Carvana recently.

• 1:28:30Caleb Hammer?

  Trade in?

• 1:28:32Speaker 03

I don't know, I was actually gonna ask you that, I'm getting the itches.

• 1:28:34Caleb Hammer?

Well, we got a couple options.

• 1:28:36Speaker 03

  So I'm, I'm gonna...

• 1:28:37Caleb Hammer?

  2015 Toyota Corolla.

• 1:28:38Speaker 03

  Yeah.

• 1:28:39Caleb Hammer?

  And a 2017 Toyota Corolla.

• 1:28:41Speaker 03

  Yeah.

• 1:28:42Caleb Hammer?

And a 2017 50th Anniversary Edition Toyota Corolla. And a 2016 Toyota Corolla, we're going Toyota Corolla across the board.

• 1:28:50Speaker 03

  Sounds good.

• 1:28:50Caleb Hammer?

I want you to shop and choose which one you would trade in.

• 1:28:54Speaker 03

  Let's see here.

• 1:28:55Caleb Hammer?

Take the options, don't pull off the sticky yet. Cause these are what you're shopping for.

• 1:28:59Speaker 03

Oh, this is what I'm looking for.

• 1:29:00Caleb Hammer?

Lindsay's been said this is what you've been shopping for, so here's the options that we've polled.

• 1:29:04Speaker 03

So this is literally what I've been looking at.

• 1:29:07Caleb Hammer?

So, yeah, pick what you'd pick. What could you pick? You got the miles on there. And by the way, this is in Orlando, Florida too, this isn't even here.

• 1:29:18Speaker 03

  Probably the 2015 with 52,000.

• 1:29:20Caleb Hammer?

Okay, 2015, 52,000, let's see what that is going for! $16,990, so...

• 1:29:27Speaker 03

I was hoping to be 14.

• 1:29:28Caleb Hammer?

You would be at a 20,000 hour loan, so it doesn't really make sense anyway. Especially with where your credit score likely is and where interest rates are, your interest rate wouldn't be great. So that makes no sense.

• 1:29:37Speaker 03

  My credit score's a 735.

• 1:29:44Caleb Hammer?

Well, that's if you're shopping on Carvana.

• 1:29:48Speaker 03

They have fees to deliver, so I'm hesitant. Like, I'll drive to Tampa or wherever to get it, but...

• 1:29:56Caleb Hammer?

But if we get this 2017 Toyota Corolla, $73,000, not on Carvana, that's $12,000. So we'd be at like a $15,000 loan, because Carvana's a piece of shit company.

• 1:30:06Speaker 03

  Oh, I was gonna say...

• 1:30:07Caleb Hammer?

That milks you, and they won't even negotiate anything.

• 1:30:09Speaker 03

  Oh, yeah.

• 1:30:10Caleb Hammer?

Um, now, this does have more miles, for what it's worth, but it is a newer car. Uh, who knows what the condition is? And so this is a Carvana one, if I'm not mistaken. This is a $16,900 car, Toyota Corolla, 2017, with 70,000 miles, so substantially expensive. But if we go to the 2016 car, comparable more to your 2015, at 79,000 miles, this Toyota Corolla, not a Carvana, $10,900.

• 1:30:36Speaker 03

  Ooh.

• 1:30:36Caleb Hammer?

So either way, I mean, that would save you with the value that you need to borrow to pay off the car loan with what you currently still owe on it and what it's worth. That'd be a total debt of like $13,000 if you got that car. I'd be down with that. Trade it in, $13,000 loan, that would be good. That would be substantially better than a 24. But again, the interest rate might be rough, but if it is, you're still saving more money if we pay it off quick.

• 1:31:00Speaker 03

  Yeah.

• 1:31:01Caleb Hammer?

So that would still be worth it in my mind. Okay? All right, let's talk about the checking account. $31, this is horrendous.

• 1:31:10Speaker 03

Yeah, my personal checking. I keep no money in that account.

• 1:31:12Caleb Hammer?

That's horrible, though. If any payment hits for whatever reason, or even just accidental swipe.

• 1:31:17Speaker 03

I have overdraft protection, so it pulls from my savings account when I do that.

• 1:31:21Caleb Hammer?

So now, let's see. $50 PayPal, $45 Zelle.

• 1:31:26Speaker 03

$50 is to my dad for PayPal.

• 1:31:29Caleb Hammer?

And the Zelle? And the Zelle? I said, yeah. And the rest is just transfers back and forth.

• 1:31:39Speaker 03

Not sure what a $45 Zelle would be. Probably something stupid, though.

• 1:31:44Caleb Hammer?

And then this Chase business checking, $2,750, started at four, so it's headed on the way down.

• 1:31:51Speaker 03

I loaned my brother that extra money.

• 1:31:53Caleb Hammer?

Why are you loaning your brother money?

• 1:31:55Speaker 03

  He needed money. I'm s-

• 1:31:56Caleb Hammer?

Dude, you just don't have any!

• 1:31:58Speaker 03

But I have it in my checking account. I know.

• 1:32:01Caleb Hammer?

It should be going to debt.

• 1:32:01Speaker 03

  And really, in, in-

• 1:32:03Caleb Hammer?

What did he need it for?

• 1:32:05Speaker 03

I don't ask him what he needs.

• 1:32:07Caleb Hammer?

  In real life?

• 1:32:07Speaker 03

He's not doing drugs, so I don't care what he spends his money on.

• 1:32:11Caleb Hammer?

No, what did he need money for? He just said he needed money? To live, to, for like rent and stuff. You don't even know.

• 1:32:17Speaker 03

  No, it's not like that.

• 1:32:18Caleb Hammer?

Lots of bad money in Zelle and a lot of sh**. ATM withdrawal, 308, who knows where that went?

• 1:32:22Speaker 03

  Drugs.

• 1:32:23Caleb Hammer?

PayPal, Best Buy, Best Buy. Zelle, Zelle, PayPal, Zelle, Best Buy, PayPal, Zelle, PayPal, Best Buy, Best Buy. What are you getting from Best Buy every second of your life? Okay, here's savings. $2,000.

• 1:32:39Speaker 03

  Woo woo.

• 1:32:40Caleb Hammer?

  And then here's savings, $2,650.

• 1:32:45Speaker 03

  Wait a second.

• 1:32:46Caleb Hammer?

So it's about half of what we thought, but that's again, not surprising. Uh, at all.

• 1:32:53Speaker 03

  It is $9,000.

• 1:32:55Caleb Hammer?

In any way whatsoever. Uh, okay. $4,000 in savings. Gotcha.

• 1:33:00Speaker 03

  It's nine. It was nine.

• 1:33:02Caleb Hammer?

  Was, isn't. Okay.

• 1:33:04Speaker 03

No, I mean, this time period, it was nine. I don't know why.

• 1:33:09Speaker 03

I don't know, because I have four, I have two savings and two checking accounts.

• 1:33:13Caleb Hammer?

Your checking isn't savings. And that was $2,000 in your business that was brought down from four. So you're right, if you add the four and four, you're close to eight, but you brought it down to two, loaning to your friend, and that's not savings anyway, that's your business. So listen, stop, no more. These are your statements. You have $4,000 in savings, you have a couple thousand in your business checking, okay? That is it. And like $40 in your personal checking. So I don't want to f***ing hear it.

• 1:33:36Speaker 03

  Got it.

• 1:33:37Caleb Hammer?

Oh my gosh. Dude. I don't think you know what savings is.

• 1:33:42Speaker 03

It's the money I've been saving.

• 1:33:44Caleb Hammer?

Okay, your income is $2,452. We're gonna do expenses, not including business, because it's a wash.

• 1:33:53Caleb Hammer?

So debt payments. Let's add those up.

• 1:33:58Caleb Hammer?

  75 plus 78 plus 227 plus point 84 plus-

• 1:34:07Caleb Hammer?

Twenty eight plus forty plus four hundred seven point four plus thirty three plus seventy eight plus hundred eighty eight point seven six plus forty plus twenty five plus five hundred fifty one point six. No student loans, no house, so nothing that's actually benefiting us in any way whatsoever. Minimum monthly payments to the debt, one thousand seven hundred seventy eight dollars and sixty cents. That's crazy for your income. That is death. That is insanity. You are ruined. That is seventy two percent of your income is going to debt. What is your rent?

• 1:34:38Speaker 03

  Eighteen hundred fifty dollars.

• 1:34:42Caleb Hammer?

You're a thousand, you're over a thousand dollars over budget already.

• 1:34:50Speaker 03

For, oh, between the minimum payments and the rent?

• 1:34:53Caleb Hammer?

  Yeah.

• 1:34:56Speaker 03

  Yep.

• 1:35:00Caleb Hammer?

  Okay.

• 1:35:04Caleb Hammer?

One, you need to downgrade your living situation immediately.

• 1:35:07Speaker 03

  Okay.

• 1:35:09Caleb Hammer?

  You're getting

• 1:35:09Speaker 03

  Can I get a roommate?

• 1:35:10Caleb Hammer?

  Yes, please.

• 1:35:11Speaker 03

  Cool.

• 1:35:12Caleb Hammer?

  You kidding me?

• 1:35:13Speaker 03

Just kidding. I don't want a roommate. I'll have my two cats pay rent.

• 1:35:17Caleb Hammer?

Okay, so it's a joke to you.

• 1:35:19Speaker 03

  Nope.

• 1:35:19Caleb Hammer?

You need to downgrade your rent situation capped at a thousand, which yes, it's not gonna be perfect. It's gonna be a downgrade. It's not great. I know. A thousand. That's where you're capping.

• 1:35:29Speaker 03

  What?

• 1:35:30Caleb Hammer?

  What what?

• 1:35:31Speaker 03

  Um.

• 1:35:33Caleb Hammer?

  And two, listen.

• 1:35:35Speaker 03

  Yes.

• 1:35:36Caleb Hammer?

You can dedicate time to this side hustle, whatever bullshit, but you gotta pick up in other side hustle. It is time to pick up something else. And I did just get a note, which thank goodness, because I wouldn't be able to budget this without this, but I guess you're open to calling your friend to ask for a side hustle. So we always do phone calls in the post show. So you're gonna call your friends and ask for this job in the post show and then we'll hear more about your tea. But the reality is, I mean,

• 1:36:06Caleb Hammer?

What the [bleep]? Uh, this is crazy. Uh, 300 for food, 100 for TP fund. What's your gas?

• 1:36:16Speaker 03

  160.

• 1:36:17Caleb Hammer?

Yeah, but that's going against your business, so we're actually gonna write that off. And also, that number doesn't really make sense for the mileage you drive.

• 1:36:22Speaker 03

So I don't write off my gas, I do my mileage. Does that?

• 1:36:26Caleb Hammer?

Okay, well, yes, that's gonna cross for me.

• 1:36:28Speaker 03

  Okay.

• 1:36:29Caleb Hammer?

So I'm not gonna put that in your budget. Phone bill?

• 1:36:31Speaker 03

  For, uh, 60, 40, like, 40 dollars a month.

• 1:36:36Caleb Hammer?

Okay, that's pretty good. That's a little more than what we recommend of helium, but that's fine.

• 1:36:42Caleb Hammer?

  Uh, internet, utilities, all that?

• 1:36:44Speaker 03

60 dollars, uh, for internet. 75 for water. 150 for electric.

• 1:36:52Caleb Hammer?

  Medical health care, co-pays anything?

• 1:36:54Speaker 03

Um, I have my 50 dollar mental health every month.

• 1:37:00Speaker 03

  And a

• 1:37:00Caleb Hammer?

  What's up there to 100?

• 1:37:01Speaker 03

15, it's not therapy. Um, although I could benefit from that. 15 dollars a month for dental insurance. 100 dollars every three years for eye insurance.

• 1:37:17Caleb Hammer?

  Okay, that's fine.

• 1:37:18Speaker 03

  Gotta see

• 1:37:18Caleb Hammer?

  Jim?

• 1:37:19Speaker 03

  15 dollars.

• 1:37:22Caleb Hammer?

Subscriptions? You, I mean, it's not even a choice.

• 1:37:25Speaker 03

  No, they're all going away.

• 1:37:26Caleb Hammer?

  Cat food?

• 1:37:26Speaker 03

  40 dollars a month.

• 1:37:29Caleb Hammer?

I mean, just your budget alone, and I can't wait for this phone call, cuz and I, but the thing is, as far as I know,

• 1:37:38Caleb Hammer?

you haven't talked to your friend? Your friend doesn't even know about this? And this was the idea that you kinda came up with in the green room? As a way to supplement your income, cuz as you looked at your statements before this, you're like, oh, [bleep], there's no way I can make this work. So we're gonna call, you're gonna call, and you are gonna try to get a job in the post-show for the very first time. You need 5,000 dollars to survive on a minimum basis, 5,024 dollars. You need to double your income on a minimum basis. This is crazy. That's where we are. I'm sorry, I mean, there's no debt payoff strategy. We need to figure out the income thing.

• 1:38:12Speaker 03

  Yeah.

• 1:38:13Caleb Hammer?

All right, let's get the financial score, and then we'll jump into the post-show. So, any budget overspend, 0 out of 10? Debt, ma? I mean, no collections or anything, but it's horrendous debt for your income, 1 out of 10. Emergency fund, 4,000, we'll call that.

• 1:38:29Caleb Hammer?

Four out of 10 retirement. I didn't say retirement. Zero out of 10. Is there retirement?

• 1:38:34Speaker 03

  Walmart.

• 1:38:35Caleb Hammer?

  How much?

• 1:38:36Speaker 03

No, I mean, I'm gonna be a Walmart greater.

• 1:38:38Caleb Hammer?

I'll say zero out of 10. Hammer Financial Score, one out of 10.

• 1:38:44Speaker 03

  I'm gonna die at 63.

• 1:38:46Caleb Hammer?

I told this guy, when he was hitting on this other lady while we were together, I said, "If you screw her, I will [bleep] her husband."

• 1:39:10Caleb Hammer?

  Whoa, hold on.

• 1:39:12Speaker 03

"You wanna play games with me? I'll show you games."

• 1:39:15Speaker 04
