Hey, can you come pick me up? Yeah, what's wrong? Nothing. Are you sure? Yeah, no, I just need a ride. Oh, my God. So what? I just want to have fun. Start your engine. Take care.

• 0:30Benito Skinner?

  I'm Benito Skinner.

• 0:31Mary Beth Barone?

  I'm Mary Beth Brown.

• 0:33Benito Skinner?

  And this?

• 0:33Mary Beth Barone?

  Is?

• 0:34Benito Skinner?

  Ride.

• 0:38Benito Skinner?

Do you see me as a clown or do you see me as a sexual being? So that was in the Notes app.

• 0:43Mary Beth Barone?

  I put that in there.

• 0:44Benito Skinner?

You put that in there. Well, how powerful.

• 0:46Mary Beth Barone?

I guess it's just like, sometimes you have to ask if someone is speaking to you and you're thinking like, well, do you see me as a clown or do you see me as a sexual being?

• 0:57Benito Skinner?

  That's so powerful.

• 0:58Mary Beth Barone?

And I might just start asking people.

• 1:00Benito Skinner?

I would just ask them. Yeah. I know, and it can be really confusing as a comedian, I get that.

• 1:05Mary Beth Barone?

  It's hard.

• 1:06Benito Skinner?

You're thinking, am I making you laugh or am I making you laugh?

• 1:08Mary Beth Barone?

Or am I making you hard?

• 1:10Benito Skinner?

  Yeah. Are you hard?

• 1:11Mary Beth Barone?

  I love it here.

• 1:12Benito Skinner?

  And yes, we're back.

• 1:13Mary Beth Barone?

  I love it here.

• 1:14Benito Skinner?

I love it here. We're back in the library, the British Library.

• 1:18Mary Beth Barone?

The Great British Library. I feel bad because I feel like my phone is putting like a barrier between me and the listeners. Like when I have it out, like it feels like I'm texting, but.

• 1:26Benito Skinner?

  And they keep saying that.

• 1:26Mary Beth Barone?

But I'm not. I'm really not. I'm actually just keeping us on track, keeping us honest.

• 1:31Benito Skinner?

I'm cold, so you must be.

• 1:33Mary Beth Barone?

  I'm freezing.

• 1:33Benito Skinner?

  We're losing you.

• 1:34Mary Beth Barone?

  Yeah, no, my pulse.

• 1:35Benito Skinner?

I thought there wasn't Christmas in Narnia. This is very Narnia in here, I will say.

• 1:40Mary Beth Barone?

I wanted to call out a moment earlier today, which was when we were at the acne store in London and Running Up That Hill was playing, and I just thought, could life get any better than this?

• 1:48Benito Skinner?

  No, maybe a little.

• 1:50Mary Beth Barone?

Then I asked the guy who works at acne, do you see me as a clown or do you see me as a sexual being?

• 1:54Benito Skinner?

  And he went, asexua.

• 1:55Mary Beth Barone?

He said, asexua. Well, immediately when we got there, he was like, so this used to be an art gallery, it's three floors. Like, can I show you the store?

• 2:03Benito Skinner?

  Yeah.

• 2:04Mary Beth Barone?

And all I could think was, do you want the house tour?

• 2:08Benito Skinner?

I could take you to the first, second, third floor. He so wanted to show us something.

• 2:13Mary Beth Barone?

He wanted to give us the house tour. And there was a big pink couch in there.

• 2:16Benito Skinner?

Well, you said to me, you go, do you want the house tour, us at the acne store? And I was like. My girl has been.

• 2:23Mary Beth Barone?

  And then I said my.

• 2:24Benito Skinner?

  Rotted to the core.

• 2:25Mary Beth Barone?

My house is on Pretty Girl Avenue.

• 2:27Benito Skinner?

I love that whole song, can I just say?

• 2:29Mary Beth Barone?

  Yeah, it's very you.

• 2:30Benito Skinner?

I would have loved to do a Deliverance Richards video to that. I'm just too tired.

• 2:34Mary Beth Barone?

  There's, you still can.

• 2:35Benito Skinner?

I'm just too tired. I can't stress enough.

• 2:38Mary Beth Barone?

When you're in the Deliverance Richards costume, do you see me as a clown?

• 2:41Benito Skinner?

Or a sexual being? I will say that really permeated my youth.

• 2:48Mary Beth Barone?

  The question?

• 2:49Benito Skinner?

The question, cuz I would just be like, well, you wanna be around me all the time?

• 2:53Mary Beth Barone?

  Right. But it's just confusing.

• 2:56Benito Skinner?

You just want my like charisma. You don't even care.

• 2:59Mary Beth Barone?

  Charisma, uniqueness, nerve and talent.

• 3:01Benito Skinner?

You don't wanna get in this bed.

• 3:02Mary Beth Barone?

No, well, but I, I feel like they probably did.

• 3:04Benito Skinner?

Are you gonna stay the night? Doesn't mean we're bound for life. Ah, ah, oh, oh. Are you gonna stay the night?

• 3:18Mary Beth Barone?

So that's in my definitely list of top songs ever made, best songs ever made.

• 3:22Benito Skinner?

Agreed. It's a top, yeah. I've been trying to find like the ultimate five and it's nearly impossible. But no matter what, you're gonna find Maren Morris.

• 3:30Mary Beth Barone?

Oh, and Dion by the Japanese House.

• 3:32Benito Skinner?

Baby, why don't you just meet me in the middle? Dion was fucking, is that with Bon Iver, Justin?

• 3:40Mary Beth Barone?

  Yeah.

• 3:41Benito Skinner?

Oh, God. That's like, what a fabulous song. Everything Japanese House makes. At some point, I should just write for her.

• 3:47Mary Beth Barone?

I know, we will. That's gonna be a carpool though.

• 3:50Benito Skinner?

It's gonna be a carpool and it's, maybe we just send it to them. Although I think people would love to listen.

• 3:54Mary Beth Barone?

  Private episode.

• 3:55Benito Skinner?

Yeah, we should start doing those. Patreon.

• 3:57Mary Beth Barone?

I'm seeing her live soon and I can't fucking wait.

• 4:00Benito Skinner?

Who are you seeing her with?

• 4:01Mary Beth Barone?

  My bestie.

• 4:02Benito Skinner?

  With me, love.

• 4:03Mary Beth Barone?

  Yeah, my love.

• 4:03Benito Skinner?

  The Lord, Ultrasounds.

• 4:05Mary Beth Barone?

  Woo.

• 4:06Benito Skinner?

Oh, my God. I don't know if I can take some of those songs live.

• 4:09Mary Beth Barone?

I'm gonna sob. If you see me crying at the Lord show, no, you didn't. No, you didn't.

• 4:13Benito Skinner?

No, you didn't. No, no, you didn't. No, you didn't. There is this mashup that exists of Lord liability and the end for party for you. And again, it's just one of those.

• 4:23Mary Beth Barone?

  Dangerous legislation.

• 4:24Benito Skinner?

The most dangerous of legi- Can I talk about dangerous legislation? There's a few songs lately where I go, dangerous, like Nobody's Son.

• 4:33Mary Beth Barone?

This is what happened. I was listening to Never Really Over by Katy Perry and I thought to myself. And I text you almost everything, I think.

• 4:40Benito Skinner?

Of course, and I'm happy and I love it.

• 4:41Mary Beth Barone?

I said, never really over is a dangerous piece of legislation. So now I think we should, we should deem songs, whether or not they are dangerous legislation.

• 4:50Benito Skinner?

It seems like we're kind of living in a society.

• 4:52Mary Beth Barone?

Deon is a dangerous piece of legislation.

• 4:55Benito Skinner?

Chewing cotton wool. I'm going to be honest, some of the overcompensating soundtrack, a dangerous piece of legislation.

• 5:02Mary Beth Barone?

So yes, liability and party for you. I saw that and I immediately thought, well.

• 5:06Benito Skinner?

It's really one of those things.

• 5:08Mary Beth Barone?

  Wrong hands.

• 5:08Benito Skinner?

Well, it's, oh my God, it's that TikTok that I brought up wakes ago, where that girl was like, I'm so lucky to feel music like this. I'm starting to think I feel it too much. I, I'm overwhelmed. I'm like, am I going to feel so many emotions that I just eventually like I'm numb?

• 5:23Mary Beth Barone?

  You implode?

• 5:24Benito Skinner?

  Yeah.

• 5:24Mary Beth Barone?

You won't go numb for sure. But when I used to come here, when I was in love with a British man, I used to come here for like a month or two. And then when I would go back to America, I couldn't listen to music. I couldn't, it would make me too sad.

• 5:35Benito Skinner?

This is me talking to people about you at a brunch you're not at. I mean, she like, she won't even listen to music.

• 5:40Mary Beth Barone?

She couldn't even listen to music.

• 5:41Benito Skinner?

The girl couldn't even listen to music. The car, it was silent.

• 5:43Mary Beth Barone?

No, it was silent. I couldn't, I would cry, I would start crying. Cause I missed him so much.

• 5:49Benito Skinner?

I will say, when we were shooting first season, I found some of those old playlists and some of those feelings and stuff. And just like, oh my God, and how much.

• 5:57Mary Beth Barone?

  I know it's a lot.

• 5:58Benito Skinner?

And that was, oh, I would listen to them before some of the scenes. And even putting them in later, I was just like, oh my God.

• 6:04Mary Beth Barone?

  It's emotional.

• 6:05Benito Skinner?

I love music, ugh. Music is power.

• 6:09Mary Beth Barone?

I knew you were going to say that.

• 6:11Benito Skinner?

No, oh my God, somebody else, 1975, a dangerous.

• 6:16Mary Beth Barone?

  Dangerous piece of legislation.

• 6:18Benito Skinner?

Are you for you is dangerous? I will say official is probably one of her most dangerous. I'm not even going to bring it up.

• 6:23Mary Beth Barone?

If not the most dangerous, don't talk about that right now.

• 6:25Benito Skinner?

I remember our first day, no chocolate in the bouquet, but the way that you smay.

• 6:31Mary Beth Barone?

These are the things that can make us official.

• 6:34Benito Skinner?

That, oh my, I can't even think about it. I literally will like, I will get there. I will well.

• 6:39Mary Beth Barone?

I added to my lore recently.

• 6:41Benito Skinner?

  What?

• 6:41Mary Beth Barone?

And can I just say, the memoir keeps getting longer. And you know exactly what I'm talking about.

• 6:48Benito Skinner?

  The book.

• 6:49Mary Beth Barone?

  Speaking of dangerous legislation.

• 6:51Benito Skinner?

Miranda has trusted you with the book.

• 6:54Mary Beth Barone?

  The book.

• 6:55Benito Skinner?

  That's me.

• 6:55Mary Beth Barone?

The book. I had to put it on the table with the flowers.

• 6:58Benito Skinner?

  I don't know if I'll ever write a book.

• 6:59Mary Beth Barone?

I'm for sure gonna write a book. I'm just figuring out if the first one will be a novel, if it'll be more true to myself.

• 7:05Benito Skinner?

  Graphic novel.

• 7:05Mary Beth Barone?

If it'll be a graphic novel, a thinly veiled memoir that is like a novel. So it's the novelization of my life.

• 7:12Benito Skinner?

Sorry, just yawned. It's cozy and we're recording at five, which is the middle of the night for us.

• 7:15Mary Beth Barone?

We never do this. This is nighttime. This is right after dark.

• 7:17Benito Skinner?

This is so right after dark. Well, we're gonna go outside and it's gonna be gray.

• 7:21Mary Beth Barone?

Gray. So I wanna tell you about when I bit into a full peppercorn at Just Salad.

• 7:27Benito Skinner?

I was so hoping you would.

• 7:28Mary Beth Barone?

This has been in the dock for a while.

• 7:29Benito Skinner?

I know, and I just, I saw it, and actually, it's one of those ones that's in there, and I thought, did I do that?

• 7:34Mary Beth Barone?

  No, it was me.

• 7:35Benito Skinner?

  It's you.

• 7:36Mary Beth Barone?

Also, what are you writing for?

• 7:37Benito Skinner?

You're gonna die. Do you want me to say it right now?

• 7:39Mary Beth Barone?

  Yeah, say it.

• 7:40Benito Skinner?

I'm writing for when my mom made me get a mammogram.

• 7:42Mary Beth Barone?

  Well, it's just Benny's mammogram.

• 7:44Benito Skinner?

  Benny's mammogram.

• 7:45Mary Beth Barone?

  Is what we're calling it.

• 7:46Benito Skinner?

  Yeah.

• 7:46Mary Beth Barone?

  The Benny's mammogram episode.

• 7:47Benito Skinner?

I just think, yeah, I have a lot to say.

• 7:49Mary Beth Barone?

  I don't have one. Isn't that crazy?

• 7:51Benito Skinner?

You don't have to, do they?

• 7:52Mary Beth Barone?

No, I do, though. I do. I guess himbos, maybe. I've been writing for too much street guy stuff lately.

• 7:58Benito Skinner?

I agree. Keep all this. They're gonna see how the sauce is made.

• 8:02Mary Beth Barone?

We're not keeping this. Maybe. I'm not sure. Well, you won't let me ride for couples therapy on Showtime, so.

• 8:08Benito Skinner?

Ride for couples therapy. It's a lot.

• 8:11Mary Beth Barone?

  All right.

• 8:11Benito Skinner?

  It's a lot to watch.

• 8:13Mary Beth Barone?

Actually, no. I'm gonna ride for thirst traps.

• 8:17Benito Skinner?

  Incredible.

• 8:18Mary Beth Barone?

  So.

• 8:18Benito Skinner?

  What a perfect thing.

• 8:20Mary Beth Barone?

Okay, when I had an email job, this was back in, in the 2010s.

• 8:25Benito Skinner?

  Yeah.

• 8:25Mary Beth Barone?

And obviously, you had, you had Chopped, you had Sweet Green, and you had Just Salad. And so I'm choosing Sweet Green every time. Fuck, marry, kill, marrying Sweet Green, I'll have sex with Chopped. And unfortunately, in that time, and things maybe have gotten better, I would kill Just Salad.

• 8:39Benito Skinner?

Dear media, you have to pay her for that. Like, it's like, of course, clip that, but it's just like, how could you even? Again, I'll say it, like, it's like she does it on purpose. Like, girl, it has to hit your bank account before they post that.

• 8:53Mary Beth Barone?

So sometimes the line would be so long, because everyone's getting lunch at the same time, that you're forced to, like, go to a salad place that you wouldn't normally go to.

• 9:00Benito Skinner?

I was so there. It was crazy. I would go, like, I would get bowls anywhere.

• 9:04Mary Beth Barone?

This is in Soho, mind you.

• 9:05Benito Skinner?

Sorry, I hate to say this, and like, I don't wanna like ruin anyone's livelihood, but like. Dig or whatever.

• 9:11Mary Beth Barone?

  I like dig.

• 9:12Benito Skinner?

  Be a no for me.

• 9:13Mary Beth Barone?

  So I like dig.

• 9:14Benito Skinner?

  Really?

• 9:14Mary Beth Barone?

  You don't like fresh ingredients.

• 9:17Benito Skinner?

Oh, I almost forgot. I hate women and I hate fresh ingredients. No, I'm glazed. I'm a glazed chariotee girl.

• 9:22Mary Beth Barone?

I like glaze too, but I love dig. Dig has a lot of really good options for a girl like me.

• 9:26Benito Skinner?

  Okay.

• 9:26Mary Beth Barone?

So maybe you don't care about that, but I do.

• 9:28Benito Skinner?

I just remember, I will say, you know, what would have been like seven years, eight years ago, it wasn't what I wanted, but maybe it's changed.

• 9:35Mary Beth Barone?

  Maybe, maybe it's changed.

• 9:36Benito Skinner?

Originally it was dig in, so maybe dig.

• 9:38Mary Beth Barone?

  Drop the in is cleaner.

• 9:40Benito Skinner?

Is it? Drop the in, it's disgusting.

• 9:42Mary Beth Barone?

It's dig. So I went to.

• 9:45Benito Skinner?

  I just thought of something.

• 9:47Mary Beth Barone?

  I'm just, what is it?

• 9:48Benito Skinner?

So sorry. I can't believe somebody just told me this. And I can't believe I haven't said it to you yet.

• 9:54Mary Beth Barone?

  What?

• 9:55Benito Skinner?

Well, it was funny because Alyssa and Amber, we were just talking about, they told me at Charlie's wedding that some guy had said, I don't even know who said it, but he was talking about a girl just taking off her bikini and he just said, dump them. And I literally.

• 10:09Mary Beth Barone?

  What does that mean?

• 10:11Benito Skinner?

Like, just like dump them, like dump those titties out.

• 10:13Mary Beth Barone?

  Disgusting.

• 10:14Benito Skinner?

I, I could, I almost wet my pants. I was like, that's the most, every time I think they reach it, porked, like I just.

• 10:22Mary Beth Barone?

  Dump them?

• 10:23Benito Skinner?

  Jugs, dump them.

• 10:25Mary Beth Barone?

I got to tell a straight guy who's disgusting recently and that was really cool.

• 10:28Benito Skinner?

  Oh, that's so good.

• 10:29Mary Beth Barone?

  We'll probably cut that.

• 10:30Benito Skinner?

  Why would we cut that?

• 10:30Mary Beth Barone?

  Dump them. Dump them.

• 10:32Benito Skinner?

Dump them. Cause it's like, oh, should I take my top off? It's like, yeah, dump them.

• 10:36Mary Beth Barone?

  Dump them. Yeah.

• 10:38Benito Skinner?

  Come on, girl.

• 10:38Mary Beth Barone?

  The poor girl.

• 10:39Benito Skinner?

  It's like, they're easier ways.

• 10:41Mary Beth Barone?

  Eyes on her.

• 10:42Benito Skinner?

  Yeah.

• 10:42Mary Beth Barone?

So I went to my third choice of salad. This was back when I was working in the Puck building, by the way. This was like such a cool time for me.

• 10:50Benito Skinner?

  I keep yawning, sorry.

• 10:52Mary Beth Barone?

It's okay. I don't take it as a reflection of my work.

• 10:54Benito Skinner?

No, active listening can mean just yawning.

• 10:56Mary Beth Barone?

We are jet lagged as fuck as well.

• 10:58Benito Skinner?

Oh, I even, I totally forgot about jet lag.

• 11:00Mary Beth Barone?

  From the States.

• 11:01Benito Skinner?

Oh my God. I'm losing outside.

• 11:04Mary Beth Barone?

  I'm losing inside.

• 11:08Mary Beth Barone?

So I'm at my third choice for salad and I'm doing the line. I'm not as familiar with the premium add-ons. I'm not as familiar with the bases.

• 11:15Benito Skinner?

  Great.

• 11:15Mary Beth Barone?

It's really, I'm out of my depth here. Okay. So they asked me, would you like salt and pepper? And that's not something they offer, like that they would suggest at Sweetgreen.

• 11:25Benito Skinner?

I've never seen salt and pepper at Sweetgreen.

• 11:27Mary Beth Barone?

I think you could ask for it, but it's certainly not offered every time. They were offering it to me like it was the bread.

• 11:31Benito Skinner?

You'd certainly hold up the line.

• 11:32Mary Beth Barone?

  Certainly.

• 11:33Benito Skinner?

They were like, do you want it Mike's way?

• 11:35Mary Beth Barone?

So I say yes. Like an idiot.

• 11:38Benito Skinner?

  Like a total fool.

• 11:39Mary Beth Barone?

  Like a fool.

• 11:40Benito Skinner?

  Yeah.

• 11:41Mary Beth Barone?

So I get back, I did eat there for some reason, too. I'm really, really painting a picture for you guys.

• 11:47Benito Skinner?

God, this story is electric. I'm not even kidding.

• 11:50Mary Beth Barone?

So I'm eating my salad and I, I take two bites, that third bite, full peppercorn. So you feel it, you taste it, you hear it. The taste in my mouth was so overpowering. I don't think I'd ever eaten a full peppercorn before.

• 12:06Benito Skinner?

  Sensory.

• 12:06Mary Beth Barone?

  I wouldn't recommend it.

• 12:08Benito Skinner?

Yeah, well, they're in that, they're, you know, getting ground for a reason.

• 12:11Mary Beth Barone?

Yeah, and so this was a full one. It was untouched. And I, I had to stop eating completely.

• 12:16Benito Skinner?

  Of course.

• 12:17Mary Beth Barone?

I have not eaten pepper since.

• 12:19Benito Skinner?

  Oh, really?

• 12:20Mary Beth Barone?

Like, if, if my food's been peppered, it's not been by my own volition, it's been done to me. I actually have an aversion to pepper now. I may have gone home for the day. It was one of those things, like having dry skin at school, where I was just like, why can't, my day's not gonna recover from this.

• 12:32Benito Skinner?

I told, oh my God, I told a friend recently, I was just like, they were like, oh, you didn't come to dinner? And I was just like, yeah, I had dermatitis. And she was just like, get it?

• 12:39Mary Beth Barone?

  Fair.

• 12:40Benito Skinner?

  It's so fair.

• 12:40Mary Beth Barone?

  It's just fair.

• 12:41Benito Skinner?

I was just like, yeah, I just like, couldn't be, I'm sorry.

• 12:43Mary Beth Barone?

Yeah, I also once left a wedding because I had a cigarette, which is so not something I would do. But I don't know what type of cigarette it was. It was the one that makes your breath like really bad, and I had to go home.

• 12:53Benito Skinner?

  Aren't they all cigarettes that?

• 12:54Mary Beth Barone?

But it was like, you know how they're like, oh, that's menthol, or that's the other thing, or the other third secret thing?

• 12:58Benito Skinner?

  Menthol's illegal, right?

• 13:00Mary Beth Barone?

  I don't know.

• 13:00Benito Skinner?

  Maybe not here.

• 13:01Mary Beth Barone?

  Maybe not.

• 13:02Benito Skinner?

I used to love the Camel Crushes when I was in college.

• 13:04Mary Beth Barone?

I mean, you know, we all smoked a time or two.

• 13:06Benito Skinner?

Yeah, I used to say I loved them. Like, if someone had them, I'd like puff twice and then pop the ball, puff twice and then be like, I think I'm good. Like, I feel like we did it.

• 13:13Mary Beth Barone?

  I don't smoke anymore ever.

• 13:15Benito Skinner?

And no one saw me as sexual, they saw me as a clown.

• 13:16Mary Beth Barone?

As a clown. I don't go near cigarettes anymore because it's bad for like cervical cancer or something. I mean, and lung cancer, but apparently it's like, if you've ever had HPV and you smoke cigarettes, it like increases your chances.

• 13:27Benito Skinner?

HPV was really, I learned a lot about it. There was a time when it was like, it's funny, I felt like I learned about like, don't do meth and HPV and all these things like really young, or don't smoke cigarettes.

• 13:39Mary Beth Barone?

  Yeah.

• 13:39Benito Skinner?

Up until like fourth grade, and then all of a sudden, these things, you know, kind of.

• 13:44Mary Beth Barone?

  Present themselves.

• 13:44Benito Skinner?

Yeah, they were, they were everywhere.

• 13:46Mary Beth Barone?

  Yeah.

• 13:46Benito Skinner?

It was a haunted house of sorts.

• 13:47Mary Beth Barone?

  Yeah.

• 13:48Benito Skinner?

  And no more educational.

• 13:49Mary Beth Barone?

No more. And honestly, not even mentioning it.

• 13:51Benito Skinner?

Scare the shit out of a first grader, but then when you're actually being presented with it, it's like.

• 13:54Mary Beth Barone?

I wasn't getting offered SIGs in first grade. It would have, I would have said no, obviously, but.

• 13:58Benito Skinner?

I guess we grew up in different places.

• 14:00Mary Beth Barone?

  Yeah, I was in Boise.

• 14:01Benito Skinner?

No, I wasn't either, but yeah, but then, you know, when I was in high school, people were like.

• 14:04Mary Beth Barone?

What they don't tell you in fourth grade is that you don't want to bite into a full peppercorn. Also, something I didn't learn until recently is, well, maybe a couple of years ago.

• 14:12Benito Skinner?

  All these books, nothing.

• 14:13Mary Beth Barone?

All these books, nothing in it about that. You can't have honey until you're two or older because you don't have an enzyme that like processes it and you can die. If a baby accidentally eats honey, they can die. I'm like, that should be on every street corner. Like, we should all know that, like, in our bones.

• 14:28Benito Skinner?

Wait, what? I would so be like, give that baby a little honey.

• 14:30Mary Beth Barone?

  Yeah.

• 14:31Benito Skinner?

  It's crying.

• 14:31Mary Beth Barone?

  Right, like.

• 14:33Benito Skinner?

  Give it a honeycomb.

• 14:34Mary Beth Barone?

  Exactly.

• 14:34Benito Skinner?

  Wait, that's insane.

• 14:35Mary Beth Barone?

So that's just some good practical knowledge for our listeners.

• 14:38Benito Skinner?

  Thank you.

• 14:38Mary Beth Barone?

And I want to shout out the guy who made a TikTok saying that his biggest takeaway from Ride the Pod was to buy T-shirts one size down. I'm just glad that we're out here, just like, it's called impact and it's like, think locally, act globally. And by that matter, think globally and act locally.

• 14:53Benito Skinner?

  And shop locally and.

• 14:55Mary Beth Barone?

  And shop globally.

• 14:56Benito Skinner?

  And go globally, travel privilege.

• 14:58Mary Beth Barone?

  Travel privilege.

• 14:59Benito Skinner?

Yeah, I've been thinking about it a lot too. I just bought a polo and I had a size on and I thought, fuck it, let's see what the next size down and the woman working there.

• 15:06Mary Beth Barone?

And what, and which one did you buy?

• 15:07Benito Skinner?

I bought the smaller one, kid. You're always with me, always. Turf Hogwarts, sorry.

• 15:14Mary Beth Barone?

I didn't even know the reference, so.

• 15:16Benito Skinner?

It's like a thing. What does everyone do right now with a Harry Potter tattoo who's like, you know, who doesn't want one? You just have to get it removed or you just vibe out. You're like, it's the Deathly Hallows. It is what it is.

• 15:26Mary Beth Barone?

I guess it's like, yeah, it's like we live and learn and all that stuff.

• 15:30Benito Skinner?

Yeah, I think tattoos do like serve that. People have such hot takes on them. I'm like, if you want them, I think they're.

• 15:35Mary Beth Barone?

  Tattoos.

• 15:36Benito Skinner?

They're great and I think they, they can be so beautiful.

• 15:38Mary Beth Barone?

Yeah, sometimes they're not too, but.

• 15:40Benito Skinner?

No, of course. The ones that bleed, I do feel sad for the person. I'm like, that one just feels like it's, it didn't want to be there.

• 15:46Mary Beth Barone?

No, your skin was saying, please stop.

• 15:48Benito Skinner?

It's very Mariah Carey, Migrate, which I was so happy. Actually, wait, this didn't happen. You went on a date and I got to show the song Migrate to our friend Jake Samas and Emily after the US Open.

• 16:00Mary Beth Barone?

  Yeah.

• 16:00Benito Skinner?

They hadn't heard this song that's on E equals MC squared, which I still think is the best album title of all time. Mariah Carey.

• 16:07Mary Beth Barone?

  Oh, oh.

• 16:08Benito Skinner?

  Yeah.

• 16:09Mary Beth Barone?

Didn't he do one that was similar? We're gonna cut that.

• 16:11Benito Skinner?

I don't think we should cut that because there might be. And I'm happy to, hey, happy to shout him out. Get some hits. And now we're flying on a G5, G5, isn't that him? I'm a leaving.

• 16:22Mary Beth Barone?

  Never.

• 16:23Benito Skinner?

Never come back again. Uh, it's tomorrow.

• 16:26Mary Beth Barone?

  Until November.

• 16:27Benito Skinner?

Until November. We'll be right back, London.

• 16:30Mary Beth Barone?

You showed that song to them when I wasn't there.

• 16:32Benito Skinner?

Mariah Carey has a song with T-Pain called "Migrate."

• 16:34Mary Beth Barone?

  I love T-Pain.

• 16:36Benito Skinner?

  He's the best.

• 16:39Benito Skinner?

Fuck, me too. That's why we have a podcast and you fuckers don't. Mariah Carey, the song starts, she goes,

• 16:47Benito Skinner?

like she hits all those insane notes. But the, the song is, "From the car into the club, we migrate. From the party to the after-party, migrate." It's like, it's a total hit. It's so good.

• 16:59Mary Beth Barone?

My hot take is that I didn't think Glitter was that bad.

• 17:03Benito Skinner?

I think that all gay guys have that take.

• 17:05Mary Beth Barone?

Really? I've never ever talked to anyone about it.

• 17:07Benito Skinner?

It's like the Showgirls world where I'm like, this is a fabulous piece of cam.

• 17:10Mary Beth Barone?

Like, it wasn't that bad. I just think, cause it's like a woman, people like wanted to pile on.

• 17:15Benito Skinner?

I mean, we've talked about this.

• 17:16Mary Beth Barone?

In fact, I enjoyed it. I don't even wanna, no, fuck that.

• 17:20Benito Skinner?

  It's great.

• 17:20Mary Beth Barone?

  Screw the narrative.

• 17:21Benito Skinner?

  Fuck it.

• 17:22Mary Beth Barone?

  Fuck it.

• 17:22Benito Skinner?

Turn the fucking cameras off. No, I'm serious. Turn the fucking cameras off. People do that with Crossroads too. And it's so funny because.

• 17:30Mary Beth Barone?

  Crossroads is legitimately good.

• 17:31Benito Skinner?

All the movies we like are like 20%.

• 17:33Mary Beth Barone?

  I take it back.

• 17:34Benito Skinner?

  Yeah.

• 17:34Mary Beth Barone?

It's not that I didn't think it was that bad. I enjoyed the film.

• 17:37Benito Skinner?

Yeah. Lizzie McGuire movie has a like 43% on Rotten Tomatoes. And I'm just like, that is a fabulous, fabulous iconic piece.

• 17:45Mary Beth Barone?

I'm sorry, if you're the critic at the Wall Street Journal, like, yeah, you probably didn't fuck with it.

• 17:49Benito Skinner?

  Yeah, it's not for you.

• 17:50Mary Beth Barone?

It's not for you. It's so, how about you stop being so pretentious? I'm sure Spice World got terrible reviews, which is a very poignant commentary on female celebrity. I'm sure It Takes Two got totally fucking.

• 18:02Benito Skinner?

  Paned.

• 18:02Mary Beth Barone?

Paned because it's The Parent Trap without the science.

• 18:05Benito Skinner?

It debuted at Cannes and got booed.

• 18:06Mary Beth Barone?

Got booed. No, no standing O.

• 18:08Benito Skinner?

  35 minutes standing O.

• 18:10Mary Beth Barone?

It's everything. Okay, so I was in a documentary that I don't know if it's ever gonna come out. But it's about Soul Cycle.

• 18:15Benito Skinner?

  Oh, yeah.

• 18:16Mary Beth Barone?

I was just thinking before I went in there, but like, anything that women and gay guys really love, it just gets mocked by society. So think about it, pop music. Fashion.

• 18:25Benito Skinner?

  Yeah.

• 18:25Mary Beth Barone?

  Things like SoulCycle.

• 18:27Benito Skinner?

  Yeah.

• 18:27Mary Beth Barone?

And movies like Glitter Crossroads, Honey, like girly things. It's like society just doesn't take any of it seriously. To the point where it's like even women will hate on it because I guess we feel like we have to to like, you know, receive love or whatever.

• 18:39Benito Skinner?

I just watched you do it. It was really toxic and disgusting.

• 18:41Mary Beth Barone?

But do you see how I actually pivoted in the moment?

• 18:43Benito Skinner?

  Of course, that's growth.

• 18:44Mary Beth Barone?

Yeah. And now turn the fucking cameras off.

• 18:46Benito Skinner?

Now you're learned and turn the fucking cameras off right now because I'm not doing this. Yeah. So today I'll be riding for, as we said, Benny's mammogram, me getting a mammogram.

• 18:55Mary Beth Barone?

And I will be riding for thirst traps.

• 18:59Benito Skinner?

  Washing machine on. Pinky seated.

• 19:03Mary Beth Barone?

  Pinky sat.

• 19:04Benito Skinner?

Oh, we just ate dinner. Let's do it, baby. Nutraful.

• 19:08Mary Beth Barone?

  Here we go.

• 19:08Benito Skinner?

Yeah. Oh, did you? Oh, yeah.

• 19:22Mary Beth Barone?

  Until I found out.

• 19:24Benito Skinner?

I can't even imagine the tin can it sounds like we're in for these ads. Let it rip.

• 19:29Mary Beth Barone?

So I've all seen my cans.

• 19:30Benito Skinner?

So I guess this is the part of the week where I have to talk about my cuck chair.

• 20:49Benito Skinner?

I'm literally looking at it right now.

• 20:51Mary Beth Barone?

You're looking at my cuck chair. You could even be sad in it.

• 20:53Benito Skinner?

Well, here's the thing. I'm thinking about who will be the next person in that chair. Do you understand?

• 20:57Mary Beth Barone?

  I know.

• 20:58Benito Skinner?

  Who's the lucky winner?

• 20:59Mary Beth Barone?

I don't know yet. We're still, we're still waiting to find out. So here's the thing. My cuck chair is from Article. We all know this.

• 21:04Benito Skinner?

  Yeah, of course.

• 21:05Mary Beth Barone?

And so it's just cool to be able to talk about how Article offers a curated range of mid-century modern coastal and Scandi-inspired pieces that not only shine on their own, but also pair seamless me, seamless me with nearly any other-

• 21:19Benito Skinner?

  Yeah, seamless me.

• 21:19Mary Beth Barone?

Article product or anything I've taken from my parents' house, such as a couch, desk, and many other things.

• 21:25Benito Skinner?

Well, can I say, so this thoughtful design approach makes it incredibly easy to mix and match, helping you create a space that feels both cohesive and stylish and sexual at best.

• 21:52Mary Beth Barone?

  Yeah.

• 21:53Benito Skinner?

The meticulous packaging, the weight and feel of the product.

• 21:56Mary Beth Barone?

  Oh, my God.

• 21:57Benito Skinner?

The fact that it comes mostly assembled, length of time you've owned the product. You've had this for a while and it literally-

• 22:04Mary Beth Barone?

  Article offers-

• 22:05Benito Skinner?

  It looks like it's barely-

• 22:06Mary Beth Barone?

  Brandon, ow!

• 22:08Benito Skinner?

Whoa, Pinky just bit her. I have to call 911.

• 22:13Mary Beth Barone?

Now we have to finish the ads first. Article offers fast, affordable shipping across the US and Canada with options for professional assembly if you prefer a hands-off experience. If you're in the market for a beautiful new sofa, dining table, bed, head to article.com. Wait, where are we going?

• 22:27Benito Skinner?

  Who cares? Ride!

• 22:29Mary Beth Barone?

I guess I could go first.

• 22:30Benito Skinner?

I'm taking those steps in the mirror in my room. Audrey, you are on notice, Ms. Hobert.

• 22:36Mary Beth Barone?

  Audrey, you have our attention.

• 22:37Benito Skinner?

Ms. Hobert, I am diving into this album. You know I won't be able to talk about it for two more seasons, but we are watching, we are listening, and we are excited, Miss Girl.

• 22:46Mary Beth Barone?

  We're streaming.

• 22:46Benito Skinner?

  Hey, you've got it.

• 22:48Mary Beth Barone?

  You've got it. X Factor.

• 22:50Benito Skinner?

You've got that X Factor. You've got that X Factor.

• 22:53Mary Beth Barone?

  Yeah.

• 22:53Benito Skinner?

And the London look, and I'm really, I love her lyrics. I love her whole, her whole vibe. I think is just quirky and delicious. And her song Thirst Traps, I played it for you yesterday for the first time and you were just, you loved it.

• 23:06Mary Beth Barone?

  I loved it.

• 23:07Benito Skinner?

Like, you just fucking loved it.

• 23:08Mary Beth Barone?

I said, hey, can we play that again? Cause my listening style for songs is like 100 times a day.

• 23:13Benito Skinner?

  Vodka Cranberry.

• 23:14Mary Beth Barone?

If I fuck with a song 100 times a day.

• 23:15Benito Skinner?

  It was so crazy.

• 23:16Mary Beth Barone?

I'm hitting back. I'm restarting it.

• 23:17Benito Skinner?

It was crazy. Conan Gray, this song, Vodka Cranberry. I listened once. I was at the airport recently.

• 23:22Mary Beth Barone?

Boy singer. Shout out to a boy singer.

• 23:24Benito Skinner?

One of the few that we listened to. I listened 100 times. I, it was just the second it was done, I said, I'm back. And I've been listening to the song Silver Moon by Lorde. That's not out. It's on YouTube. And I just listened to her perform it live and I'm just ripping through airports, listening to that.

• 23:38Mary Beth Barone?

You really, you showed me that.

• 23:39Benito Skinner?

Every night, the silver moon, it changes. Can you say the same? Do you stay the same?

• 23:47Mary Beth Barone?

So, to talk about thirst traps quickly. And I'm not gonna say that much, cause I don't even, it's like a very.

• 23:52Benito Skinner?

  Is this directed at me?

• 23:54Mary Beth Barone?

  Huh?

• 23:55Benito Skinner?

Dude. Like, is this directed at me?

• 23:59Mary Beth Barone?

  Yeah.

• 23:59Benito Skinner?

  Like, is this a subtweet?

• 24:01Mary Beth Barone?

Um, yeah, I'm subtweeting you on the pod.

• 24:02Benito Skinner?

I love, I love the concept of subtweeting through.

• 24:04Mary Beth Barone?

And in fact, like, that could be a ride.

• 24:07Benito Skinner?

I think so, but there's something about.

• 24:08Mary Beth Barone?

I'm gonna ride for Weaponizing Close Friends soon.

• 24:10Benito Skinner?

  We've talked about this.

• 24:11Mary Beth Barone?

Before the year's end, before E O Y, end of year.

• 24:14Benito Skinner?

  Yeah.

• 24:15Mary Beth Barone?

I'm gonna ride for Weaponizing Close Friends. But right now, what I wanna talk about is the practice and the art, the skill of thirst traps. So, the internet has brought us like so much bad stuff, right? But I would say that we have to count our blessings.

• 24:29Benito Skinner?

  We have to.

• 24:29Mary Beth Barone?

Because the internet has brought us good as well. Life is all about balance. So, I would say thirst traps to me are part of the good. And obviously, there's thirst traps you see where you think, that's not really for me, right?

• 24:42Benito Skinner?

  Of course.

• 24:43Mary Beth Barone?

They're not, not everything's supposed to be for you.

• 24:44Benito Skinner?

And it's not supposed to be.

• 24:45Mary Beth Barone?

Much like movies like, you know, Crossroads and Glitter.

• 24:47Benito Skinner?

  Yeah.

• 24:47Mary Beth Barone?

I'm just making sure we're still recording.

• 24:49Benito Skinner?

We are. I, I'm looking the whole time.

• 24:50Mary Beth Barone?

  And you're clocking that. So.

• 24:51Benito Skinner?

You clock, you understand, you're, it's, it's clocking you that I'm standing on business.

• 24:55Mary Beth Barone?

  It's clocking to me.

• 24:56Benito Skinner?

Do you know I understand completely what he meant?

• 24:58Mary Beth Barone?

Of course. No, of course. So, I just wanna say on Wikipedia, thirst trap is defined. If I was gonna teach a class, thirst traps 101, this is how I'm starting it.

• 25:06Benito Skinner?

  Be sure.

• 25:06Mary Beth Barone?

  A thirst trap. Ready?

• 25:10Benito Skinner?

  Let's see.

• 25:10Mary Beth Barone?

  Ow. Okay. Are you ready?

• 25:13Benito Skinner?

  Yes. Yes, Miss McCarson.

• 25:16Mary Beth Barone?

A thirst trap is a type of social media post intended to entice viewers sexually. It refers to a viewer's thirst, a colloquialism, a colloquialism, we're keeping that.

• 25:26Benito Skinner?

  My favorite word.

• 25:27Mary Beth Barone?

Likening sexual frustration to dehydration, implying desperation, with the afflicted individual being described as thirsty.

• 25:35Benito Skinner?

Yeah. You know what? I'm realizing I'm thirsty right now.

• 25:37Mary Beth Barone?

  You're thirsty right now.

• 25:38Benito Skinner?

Should I button up or no?

• 25:39Mary Beth Barone?

No, you can't button it now. Continuity.

• 25:41Benito Skinner?

I didn't even think about that.

• 25:41Mary Beth Barone?

Continuity for when we reorder the podcast.

• 25:43Benito Skinner?

  Oh, you're so right.

• 25:44Mary Beth Barone?

To the way that we want it. So.

• 25:46Benito Skinner?

Because we always, we do the end of the beginning and the middle at the top.

• 25:50Mary Beth Barone?

  So there's nothing better.

• 25:53Benito Skinner?

  Oh.

• 25:53Mary Beth Barone?

Oh, God. But like, Lord, give it.

• 25:57Benito Skinner?

And the Lord, take it. My love, he just made a fool of you.

• 26:04Benito Skinner?

  Well, you really thought.

• 26:05Mary Beth Barone?

  There's a plan in here.

• 26:06Benito Skinner?

You really thought that there wouldn't be a fern in this podcast studio? You thought you could get away?

• 26:11Mary Beth Barone?

I'm gonna pee in my bed.

• 26:12Benito Skinner?

  You thought.

• 26:12Mary Beth Barone?

I'm gonna pee in my bed. Stop!

• 26:18Benito Skinner?

  That there wouldn't be.

• 26:19Mary Beth Barone?

Don't get the electric guitar, please.

• 26:21Benito Skinner?

  A guitar.

• 26:22Mary Beth Barone?

  Please.

• 26:22Benito Skinner?

  Do you get that?

• 26:23Mary Beth Barone?

  No, stop.

• 26:24Benito Skinner?

What's not clogging to you, baby girl?

• 26:26Mary Beth Barone?

Put it down. That's so dangerous to have in here.

• 26:30Mary Beth Barone?

Penny just got the guitar, so my head just hit a fern. So, sit down right now and listen. Thirst trap 101 tells us.

• 26:38Benito Skinner?

  What is it?

• 26:38Mary Beth Barone?

  There's no greater feeling.

• 26:40Benito Skinner?

  Yeah.

• 26:41Mary Beth Barone?

Than when the thirst trap you post attracts the attention you seek.

• 26:45Benito Skinner?

I have yet to feel a better thing than that.

• 26:48Mary Beth Barone?

When the thirst trap you post gets the attention you seek and receives that attention, when the person that you've posted that for and/or people.

• 26:55Benito Skinner?

  Yeah.

• 26:55Mary Beth Barone?

There's no greater high that you can feel on the thirst.

• 26:59Benito Skinner?

I completely agree because you've put yourself out there, you've felt sexy in the moment and you're like, I, I need it. I want this attention. I want to feel sexy and young and desired. And when it is.

• 27:13Benito Skinner?

When someone gives you the standing O for that.

• 27:15Mary Beth Barone?

  Bravo.

• 27:15Benito Skinner?

That, yeah, I agree. My favorite thing is to like respond to that. Like, I love how people respond to the thirst trap. It's like, oh, my God.

• 27:23Mary Beth Barone?

But hey, I'm not done because there's an other side to the coin.

• 27:26Benito Skinner?

  Cool.

• 27:26Mary Beth Barone?

There is no worse feeling on planet Earth than when you post a thirst trap for someone and it's silent.

• 27:36Benito Skinner?

God giveth and he taketh away.

• 27:41Mary Beth Barone?

So posting thirst traps, it's vulnerable, it's experimental, it's.

• 27:46Benito Skinner?

  Well, yeah, it's experimental.

• 27:47Mary Beth Barone?

It's always groundbreaking. I mean, anyone posting a thirst trap, like, I'll take a look, you know?

• 27:52Benito Skinner?

Well, I love seeing my friends do it. Like, I love yours. And I'm like, oh, yeah. It's always fun to think like, I know who that's for and I'm, I hope, I hope he loved it. And I, I always think like, I hope he responded to that.

• 28:02Mary Beth Barone?

  Yeah.

• 28:02Benito Skinner?

And I see that in some, I've been added to a few close friends where I'm like, I don't know if I earned my spot here, but.

• 28:07Mary Beth Barone?

But you're having fun with it.

• 28:08Benito Skinner?

But, yeah, but I'm like, and like, congrats. Like, that's so.

• 28:11Mary Beth Barone?

  That's a cool thing you're doing.

• 28:12Benito Skinner?

And I'm like, whoever you've done this for, I don't think, I don't think it's for me, but clown.

• 28:16Mary Beth Barone?

  Could be.

• 28:17Benito Skinner?

  Clown.

• 28:18Mary Beth Barone?

  Clown, not sexual.

• 28:19Benito Skinner?

Non-sexual. But yeah, I was just like, oh, cool. Like, that's so fun. Good for you.

• 28:23Mary Beth Barone?

It's just a risk. And it's like, is, you always have to be asking yourself, like, is it, is the risk versus the reward? Like, is the potential payoff worth the potential for it to go completely unnoticed? And maybe there's somebody noticing it that you don't even know yet. But I would say it's just like, it's scary and, you know, it's, it's much like putting yourself out there in a way.

• 28:40Benito Skinner?

It's, I would say it's like exclusively putting yourself out there. And I was thinking a lot about this because I did Kristin Davis's podcast and we talked about, I'm your wife and I'm sexual.

• 28:48Mary Beth Barone?

  I love you.

• 28:49Benito Skinner?

  And she's so major.

• 28:49Mary Beth Barone?

Wow. I mean, if that in a thirst trap in a nutshell.

• 28:52Benito Skinner?

Well, doing it right in front of it, right in front of him, showing him the whole shebang and saying, guess what? Like, ride it, my pony. What's cooler than that? But I think there's something about it. I keep coming back to this thing, I think, within overcompensating of this, of feeling like sex and being sexy for someone is such an interesting concept to me because it's so frequently foolish because the thing that you think is sexy about yourself is so rarely the thing that's someone thinks is sexy about you. Like, I, my thing is like, I love like eyebrows and like teeth sometimes are like hot to me and like, you know what I mean? It's like things like that.

• 29:31Mary Beth Barone?

Well, I mean, the arm vein. I mean, come on.

• 29:32Benito Skinner?

  Arm vein is explosive.

• 29:34Mary Beth Barone?

And the space between a bra strap and a, and a breast.

• 29:38Benito Skinner?

Like a little, the like dip of a butt. I love that. That's so cool.

• 29:43Mary Beth Barone?

Backs. I think backs are really.

• 29:45Benito Skinner?

Backs are cool. Sometimes it's like, yeah, also just like seeing someone's hands can be just like, that's so cool.

• 29:52Mary Beth Barone?

  It's tantalizing.

• 29:53Benito Skinner?

It's tantalizing, but no, it's just interesting because like, I think that there's something where you are a little bit of a clown and you are kind of being, you're, you're making yourself a little bit of a fool in those things, but I think there's something really beautiful and vulnerable about it. But we grew up in media that's like, you know, you do a little striptease for them. You do like your full makeup. You do, you put on this outfit and it's like, none of that is when the person is like electrified. Unless it's you in the J W Anderson dress at.

• 30:21Mary Beth Barone?

At your birthday. At Sunset Tower.

• 30:23Benito Skinner?

  At Sunset Tower with a.

• 30:25Mary Beth Barone?

  With a parasite.

• 30:25Benito Skinner?

  And a parasite.

• 30:27Mary Beth Barone?

I had a lot going on that day and it was my bestie's birthday.

• 30:31Benito Skinner?

But you had no idea how sexy you looked.

• 30:33Mary Beth Barone?

I know. And we got zero photos, which is a crime, but.

• 30:36Benito Skinner?

There has to be one somewhere. If anyone was there.

• 30:38Mary Beth Barone?

  We got any photos.

• 30:39Benito Skinner?

If anyone was there, you gotta let us know.

• 30:41Mary Beth Barone?

Please let us know. I'm still working on figuring out what the perfume is. No, you're really like showing it off. It's just one of those things in life where, yeah, it's like, it could be, it could be really beautiful or it could break your heart.

• 30:53Benito Skinner?

It could break your heart, but isn't that so beautiful that you put yourself out there? That's so special. I think in the end it is because it's being human.

• 31:00Mary Beth Barone?

Like, I think more painting nude, less nude photos. Does that make sense? I just think we should be, men should be painting women more.

• 31:09Benito Skinner?

  I agree.

• 31:10Mary Beth Barone?

  Paint them.

• 31:10Benito Skinner?

I would love to, yeah, I would love to have a painting of you and I would love to, hey, can I say it? I'd love to be painted.

• 31:15Mary Beth Barone?

  Yes. Wouldn't we all?

• 31:17Benito Skinner?

Come on, would that be so awful?

• 31:19Mary Beth Barone?

My Uncle Dick was a painter and we have his paintings all over my house. Like all, everyone in our family has some of Uncle Dick's paintings.

• 31:26Benito Skinner?

  Yeah.

• 31:27Mary Beth Barone?

He painted my Aunt Jane nude twice. These are just the most fabulous paintings and I am obsessed with them and I, I want them. They're in the bar at my parents' house right now.

• 31:38Benito Skinner?

  Fabulous.

• 31:39Mary Beth Barone?

And when it's Christmas time, my mom uses magnets to put little Santa hats over the nipples like in Love Actually.

• 31:46Benito Skinner?

  It's perfect.

• 31:46Mary Beth Barone?

  It's festive.

• 31:47Benito Skinner?

  It's beautiful.

• 31:48Mary Beth Barone?

Thirst trap in a way. So that's what I've seen on thirst traps.

• 31:50Benito Skinner?

  Totally.

• 31:50Mary Beth Barone?

I think post thirst traps early and often. If you don't put yourself on the line a few times, then like, what are we really even doing here?

• 31:56Benito Skinner?

  You have to put yourself.

• 31:57Mary Beth Barone?

There's a limit too, where it's like, okay, this person maybe is like going through a hard time.

• 32:01Benito Skinner?

Exactly. And I think it's easy to tell that.

• 32:04Mary Beth Barone?

Don't use it as a cry for help.

• 32:05Benito Skinner?

  Don't please.

• 32:05Mary Beth Barone?

Please just reach out to friends.

• 32:07Benito Skinner?

Turn off the cameras. Wait, turn off the cameras. No, I completely agree. It's like, it should just be, it should feel fun, but like, when you feel it and you're proud of yourself and you wanna like feel sexy, I think it's so cool to let it rip. It doesn't even have to be for anyone. I can say that too.

• 32:21Mary Beth Barone?

I mean, the best thirst traps are the ones you post for you.

• 32:23Benito Skinner?

They're just for you. It's like, no, I just needed this out there.

• 32:25Mary Beth Barone?

Like, I just wanted to show you guys.

• 32:26Benito Skinner?

  I just needed this apart.

• 32:27Mary Beth Barone?

Hey, I have something to show you.

• 32:28Benito Skinner?

  This happened.

• 32:29Mary Beth Barone?

When I did Seth Meyers and I got the T-shirt and I just thought to myself, I want to take a thirst trap in this and post it.

• 32:35Benito Skinner?

It's so cool when you get a piece like that, where you're like, oh, this is, you know.

• 32:38Mary Beth Barone?

This is in the, it's in the closet now.

• 32:39Benito Skinner?

Or when you like, all of a sudden, like you find that, that kind of just delicious alchemy of a mirror and a sunburn and.

• 32:47Mary Beth Barone?

  You can't force it.

• 32:48Benito Skinner?

  You can't.

• 32:49Mary Beth Barone?

If there's one thing I would say that like, if you're not feeling it a hundred percent,

• 32:52Benito Skinner?

  No.

• 32:52Mary Beth Barone?

  Just like, try again tomorrow.

• 32:54Benito Skinner?

  Yeah.

• 32:54Mary Beth Barone?

Because there's nothing you're gonna gain from posting one that's undercooked.

• 32:59Benito Skinner?

  Completely agree.

• 33:00Mary Beth Barone?

And that's what I have to say.

• 33:01Benito Skinner?

And you'll feel that after. You'll know when it's the right one. But sometimes actually you'll post one and you'll be surprised by the reception.

• 33:06Mary Beth Barone?

  Yeah.

• 33:06Benito Skinner?

People will tell you, actually you killed here. And you're like, I didn't know if I did.

• 33:10Mary Beth Barone?

  Yeah.

• 33:12Benito Skinner?

So Mary Beth said, I have to do this one alone because it's my quote unquote whole deal. But I don't really think I'm defined by OCD. I think OCD is defined by me. Got it?

• 33:21Mary Beth Barone?

I don't know. We could take a poll.

• 33:23Benito Skinner?

So you're going about your day when suddenly a horrifying thought flashes through your mind. Maybe it's a fear of something happening to a loved one, a disturbing or sexual image that keeps replaying in your mind. Mine today was jump in front of the subway. So that's an urge to do something that you don't want to do. I don't want to. Okay? So your heart races, your palms sweat and anxiety washes over you. You're mortified. You feel fully convinced that it's true, even though you know that this isn't who you are. You don't want to do any of these things. But still the question of why did I think that? Why did I want to push queer as folk reboots, funny drama onto the tracks? Well, they start to consume you and you feel like you have to do something, anything to make them go away. Here's the thing about those disturbing unwanted thoughts. They're more common.

• 33:59Mary Beth Barone?

  Tell me, babe.

• 34:00Benito Skinner?

They're more common than you think.

• 34:02Mary Beth Barone?

  Whatever.

• 34:02Benito Skinner?

In fact, almost everyone has them. You're gonna be such a good mom. But for people with obsessive compulsive disorder or OCD. Yours truly.

• 34:10Mary Beth Barone?

  I don't watch children.

• 34:11Benito Skinner?

Me neither. They usually cause a lot of distress and feel hard to stop thinking about. But then I found NoCD. NoCD is a virtual therapy provider for OCD that's here to help anyone struggling with OCD and taboo or shameful thoughts get the treatment and support they need. • 34:55Mary Beth Barone?

  Here we are once again.

• 34:57Benito Skinner?

Here we find ourselves in the middle of it all. By now, you've probably heard of Bilt, where you can earn points on your monthly rent payment. But did you know they make it possible for you to get more outside of your home, too?

• 35:08Mary Beth Barone?

If you're paying rent every month without earning anything in return, let me introduce you to Bilt.

• 35:13Benito Skinner?

  Sorry, I'm kissing her neck.

• 35:14Mary Beth Barone?

The rewards program designed for renters who want to earn something for their largest monthly expense.

• 35:19Benito Skinner?

Let me explain. Nobody wants to pay rent, but if you have to, Bilt makes it worth it. Bilt is revolutionizing how millions think about paying. She just scrolled up like she's actually trying to stress me out, my love. Heart attack. Bilt is revolutionizing how millions think about paying rent by rewarding their members with points and exclusive benefits around their neighborhood every single month.

• 35:41Mary Beth Barone?

By paying rent through Bilt, you earn flexible points that can be redeemed towards hundreds of hotels and airlines if you treat your next lift ride and more. I literally just...

• 35:48Benito Skinner?

  But it doesn't stop there.

• 35:49Mary Beth Barone?

No, but I was just looking at the SoulCycle schedule and there was a Bilt ride. Bilt is about making your entire neighborhood more rewarding. You can dine out at your favorite local restaurants and earn additional points, get VIP treatment at certain fitness studios, and enjoy exclusive experiences just for Bilt members every goddamn month.

• 36:04Benito Skinner?

Sorry, I'm making out with Pinky. Bilt is turning a monthly expense into an opportunity to earn rewards and discover the best that your neighborhood has to offer. Your rent is finally working for you.

• 36:14Mary Beth Barone?

Earn points on rent and around your neighborhood wherever you call home by going to joinbilt.com/ride. That's J O I N B I L T dot com slash ride. Make sure to use our URL so they know that we sent you.

• 36:25Benito Skinner?

  Bilt.

• 36:27Benito Skinner?

So speaking of there's traps, my mom had me get a mammogram when I was 12.

• 36:31Mary Beth Barone?

I just want to put that a little closer.

• 36:33Benito Skinner?

Hey, please. So I believe I was 12, because it would have been six, I might have been a little older, maybe 13. I guess 12, 13. So I'm going to tell you the story and then I'm going to say why I ride for this. Because as I tell it, it might not seem like I'm riding for it.

• 36:48Mary Beth Barone?

Right. And I think this has been broached on the pod before, but it might have been on our old podcast.

• 36:54Benito Skinner?

But the only thing I've ever, I mean, this used to be a part of my live show for overcompensating.

• 36:58Mary Beth Barone?

Oh, that's why I'm, that's why I'm thinking of it.

• 37:00Benito Skinner?

Yeah, yeah, I used to, like, this was, I told this story during my standup. And this is so funny, because it's one of those things where you tell it, and my mom saw the show, and she's like, I'm so sorry, I totally forgot. But yeah, like, that was, like, she's like, I kind of ate.

• 37:13Mary Beth Barone?

  So that just happened?

• 37:15Benito Skinner?

She said, listen, if you want to have my name up there, at least put me on the fucking marquee. That's all she said.

• 37:20Mary Beth Barone?

I've heard, I've actually heard her say that.

• 37:21Benito Skinner?

That's so Patty. No, okay, so, so I'm 12, 13, and I, I was going through puberty, and my nipples were swelling. And, I mean, it was kind of giving, like, you know, I'll be honest, like, Sacagawea dollar.

• 37:36Mary Beth Barone?

It was giving a character in the other woman when they put hormones into smoothies.

• 37:40Benito Skinner?

Yeah, very that. Yeah. Or her, like, the bastard.

• 37:43Mary Beth Barone?

  Yeah, the bastard.

• 37:44Benito Skinner?

It was giving those, like, you know those doctored photos of Nick Jonas where he has, like, massive, like, pepperoni nipples? So, totally.

• 37:51Mary Beth Barone?

  So that's me saying no.

• 37:52Benito Skinner?

Insert here. But, so, I had, yeah, and I was like, you know, Mom, like, what's going on here, girl? And she was like, okay, well, we're going to the hospital.

• 38:01Mary Beth Barone?

  You went to emergency room?

• 38:01Benito Skinner?

We went to the ER, yeah. And she was like, you know, like, we have to check for-

• 38:05Mary Beth Barone?

And that's why the hospitals are so backed up right now, because of people like you guys.

• 38:09Benito Skinner?

Exactly. Well, I've always said I'm the problem. So we got in the Volvo, and we go to the ER. And I go and I see this doctor, and he was like, look, ma'am, like, I think the only real way to test that would be for your son to get a mammogram. And my mom's like,

• 38:25Mary Beth Barone?

She said, where do I sign?

• 38:26Benito Skinner?

She said, oh, Miss Drama, he's gonna be getting a motherfucking mammogram.

• 38:31Mary Beth Barone?

  Yeah.

• 38:31Benito Skinner?

Said, hey, so I go and I get my mammogram.

• 38:35Mary Beth Barone?

From what I've heard about mammograms, it's like they put your nipple in a garage door and then they close it.

• 38:40Benito Skinner?

They panini pressed my little, my rack.

• 38:43Mary Beth Barone?

  Your areola.

• 38:44Benito Skinner?

I couldn't, it, it hurt so bad. I had like, you know, even less like flesh than I have now. I mean, now I've kind of got a rack. Like I'd kind of be dropping them on.

• 38:53Mary Beth Barone?

  Dump them.

• 38:54Benito Skinner?

Well, that's what they say. They go dump them. And I put, I put my titty in there. They just panini pressed it to death. Like fully, like, I mean, I was cooked.

• 39:03Mary Beth Barone?

  Hmm.

• 39:04Benito Skinner?

And it hurts so bad. I had full bruises on them after. And then after I'm in the waiting room and this woman comes out and she's like, Mrs. Skinner, can I talk to you and your son in my office, please? And I was like, you're fucking kidding me. I'm gay and I have breast cancer.

• 39:19Mary Beth Barone?

  Yeah.

• 39:20Benito Skinner?

  I'm like, that's.

• 39:22Mary Beth Barone?

  God give it.

• 39:23Benito Skinner?

I'm like, god damn it. I'm like, wow, the Bible kind of did tell me that I was sick. So.

• 39:28Mary Beth Barone?

  You are.

• 39:28Benito Skinner?

Yeah. So it's a life of sin.

• 39:30Mary Beth Barone?

  For that reason, but.

• 39:31Benito Skinner?

Totally. So we go into this, you know, into Nurse Jackie's office and she closes the door. And she was like, okay, so we ran the tests and it like really quite a buildup. And I'm also like, we're in her office, like she's about to tell me that like, I do have breast cancer. I'm like, this is fucking insane. And then she's like, it's nothing. It's like puberty. Boys go through this all the time.

• 39:54Mary Beth Barone?

Bury the lead, honey. Let's start with that.

• 39:56Benito Skinner?

Just say that. I go, you could have said that in front of everyone. I would have preferred that.

• 40:00Mary Beth Barone?

  Yeah.

• 40:00Benito Skinner?

So on the drive home, I remember my mom, she goes, aren't you glad we got them checked? And I was like, do you mean my Sacagawea dollar nipples? These bobbies?

• 40:11Mary Beth Barone?

  Yeah.

• 40:12Benito Skinner?

No, I'm like, in fact, I'm not at all.

• 40:14Mary Beth Barone?

Why didn't we just like ask a few people?

• 40:16Benito Skinner?

Yeah, but we did. And it was so, I just, oh my God. And now my mom literally gets a letter for Benita.

• 40:23Mary Beth Barone?

  Benita Skinner.

• 40:23Benito Skinner?

Yeah. Here's why I ride for it. And I was just thinking about it recently because I just was like, I miss my mom and I was laughing because it's so, go get it checked. And I think as much as maybe. Maybe it was just like good to make sure I was okay. Like my mom needed it.

• 40:38Mary Beth Barone?

  Peace of mind is priceless.

• 40:39Benito Skinner?

Peace of mind is priceless and I, you know, God forbid something was bad. So like preventative checks, like I of course ride for that. But in the end, like I spent a day with my mom that I think about frequently.

• 40:51Mary Beth Barone?

  You'll never forget.

• 40:52Benito Skinner?

And I do have a lot of love and compassion for anyone who has to go and get a mammogram. Because holy fucking shit. My question was though, I guess if you have really large breasts, does it not hurt as much or does that hurt?

• 41:05Mary Beth Barone?

No, I think it may be hurt. I actually don't know. We'd have to do a little blind, a double blind study.

• 41:10Benito Skinner?

And then can you not get if you have, like if you have implants, can you not get?

• 41:14Mary Beth Barone?

I don't know how it works.

• 41:16Benito Skinner?

Cause I assume, cause in my head and my, and drama and D said.

• 41:19Mary Beth Barone?

  It would make them pop.

• 41:20Benito Skinner?

Well, just it's splashing, come up through your mouth.

• 41:22Mary Beth Barone?

So and maybe that has happened and we'll look into it. But I would say, how have they not come up? That's what the doctor says when you're about to go get a mammogram or about to put your booby in there, your little bobbies. Do you remember Dan, Nikki or bobbies? When Nicki Minaj posted a photo and her, I guess boobs were looking pretty supple. And someone commented, but there was two typos and it just said, Dan, Nikki, your bobbies. It meant to say, damn Nikki or boobies.

• 41:50Benito Skinner?

  So us, it's so right.

• 41:51Mary Beth Barone?

It's so right. So I'm surprised they haven't come up with like a new technology that doesn't involve like smushing them like that to, to do the screenings.

• 41:58Benito Skinner?

Maybe they have. It doesn't sound like they have.

• 42:00Mary Beth Barone?

And you know, get your pap smears, get your, get your mammograms. I haven't had the pleasure of getting one yet. I think I'm nearing that age where I will have to go in and do that. Colonoscopies are right around the corner.

• 42:10Benito Skinner?

I assume they were every year for every.

• 42:13Mary Beth Barone?

No, I think it's like at a certain age. Right now, they just, they just feel.

• 42:17Benito Skinner?

Oh, they, they feel around for, we couldn't have done that?

• 42:20Mary Beth Barone?

Well, I think it's like more precise.

• 42:22Benito Skinner?

They wanted to use the machine on me.

• 42:23Mary Beth Barone?

They said, we've never had a guy in here before.

• 42:25Benito Skinner?

They should. They were like, fuck, we gotta get him back there.

• 42:27Mary Beth Barone?

Yeah. They had a good laugh at your expense.

• 42:30Benito Skinner?

Literally all did. They're like, oh my God, it like barely came. We had barely any tit to squeeze.

• 42:36Mary Beth Barone?

No, but I think preventative care is really important. I think again, that's something we, I guess we probably do. Too much in America and now they have those body scan things where like you can like, I don't know, pay $15,000 and it'll check like every skin, every cell in your body or whatever. But I think always, it's just peace of mind is priceless. I think go get the thing, have a bonding experience with your kid, with your sibling, with your partner.

• 42:59Benito Skinner?

Come on, sweetie, get in the car. We're getting x-rays.

• 43:01Mary Beth Barone?

We're getting a mammogram, we're getting an MRI.

• 43:03Benito Skinner?

  Yes.

• 43:04Mary Beth Barone?

I've had much imaging done though. I've had bone scans, I've had MRIs.

• 43:07Benito Skinner?

I would have loved the thing just from, you know, kind of my virgin moment, my cover of virgin moment. I would have loved whatever the scan was.

• 43:13Mary Beth Barone?

I wonder if they have it still on the, on a little.

• 43:16Benito Skinner?

Yeah, my big old nips. And you know what? In the end, like for anyone listening, they really, they calm down. I think I grew into them.

• 43:22Mary Beth Barone?

  Totally.

• 43:23Benito Skinner?

  I really grew into them.

• 43:24Mary Beth Barone?

I never have once thought since knowing you that your nipples looked disproportionate.

• 43:28Benito Skinner?

I used to think I had bigger nipples, but I think they're actually like just kind of pretty normal.

• 43:33Mary Beth Barone?

  Proportional.

• 43:34Benito Skinner?

  Thanks, sweetie.

• 43:35Mary Beth Barone?

  They fit you.

• 43:35Benito Skinner?

They're always hard. I will say that about mine.

• 43:38Mary Beth Barone?

  Always?

• 43:39Benito Skinner?

  I mean, right now, like.

• 43:41Mary Beth Barone?

  Well, it's freezing in here.

• 43:42Benito Skinner?

Yeah, but on set, like it's hard to find me with like a really.

• 43:45Mary Beth Barone?

With, when they're just sort of.

• 43:47Benito Skinner?

  When they're just chill.

• 43:48Mary Beth Barone?

  Yeah.

• 43:49Benito Skinner?

Well, you had yours pierced and you said they were always hard?

• 43:51Mary Beth Barone?

Well, the pierced one just always looked hard because it was like, you know, at attention.

• 43:55Benito Skinner?

I wonder if they would take that out.

• 43:58Mary Beth Barone?

  Oh, I don't know.

• 43:59Benito Skinner?

If you had to do a mammogram.

• 43:59Mary Beth Barone?

I don't know. I'm thinking about the feminine urge to get my nipple pierced again. We'll see.

• 44:04Benito Skinner?

  To your media.

• 44:05Mary Beth Barone?

Hey, clip that. We'll see what happens. I haven't made a decision one way or another.

• 44:10Benito Skinner?

  We'll talk.

• 44:11Mary Beth Barone?

  We'll talk.

• 44:12Benito Skinner?

It's a group decision, of course.

• 44:13Mary Beth Barone?

Of course. I mean, I have to sit with my family and decide.

• 44:16Benito Skinner?

  Yeah.

• 44:16Mary Beth Barone?

But I, I look forward, well, I guess I'm not really looking forward to the mammogram, but I do like to just know that everything's good, above board. And another thing that Trump's administration is doing is they're cutting funding for cancer research. So, yeah, I guess if you voted for him and you're listening to this podcast.

• 44:32Benito Skinner?

  How we doing?

• 44:33Mary Beth Barone?

Eat shit and die, I guess.

• 44:35Benito Skinner?

  And you might.

• 44:36Mary Beth Barone?

And you might. Yeah. So, good luck with everything. We're out here fighting the good fight.

• 44:41Benito Skinner?

  The fight to.

• 44:42Mary Beth Barone?

  I.

• 44:43Benito Skinner?

Take a button, I guess, just in case.

• 44:45Mary Beth Barone?

  Take a button. Well, yeah.

• 44:49Mary Beth Barone?

  Sure.

• 44:49Benito Skinner?

God. You know what you are, Mary Beth?

• 44:52Mary Beth Barone?

  Bisexual?

• 44:53Benito Skinner?

Well, yeah, but you're also my ride or die. Ride or die.

• 44:58Mary Beth Barone?

  I ride for Benny's mammogram. I think it's such a

• 45:01Benito Skinner?

So I'm so glad I finally have that.

• 45:03Mary Beth Barone?

  Coming of age.

• 45:04Benito Skinner?

It was really coming of age. I mean, it was, that's why I included it in overcompensating. It was something about

• 45:08Mary Beth Barone?

  The live show.

• 45:09Benito Skinner?

The live show, yeah, when I was doing it. It's in the world of all of it, even the way Connie's written, I think, in that it does kind of have that.

• 45:15Mary Beth Barone?

Oh, Connie definitely would have taken you there.

• 45:18Benito Skinner?

Yeah, it just has that flair. Thank you so much. I love when you ride for it. I have to rewrite for it.

• 45:22Mary Beth Barone?

  Yeah, of course.

• 45:23Benito Skinner?

I have to sell you on it again.

• 45:24Mary Beth Barone?

Yeah, the experience of it all, it's those days that really stick with you from your upbringing that you should just like recall at the drop of a hat.

• 45:31Benito Skinner?

My mom took me to get chicken selects after. Like, she's, she's good at her job.

• 45:35Mary Beth Barone?

  She balances skills.

• 45:36Benito Skinner?

  Of course.

• 45:36Mary Beth Barone?

  The skills of justice.

• 45:37Benito Skinner?

Yeah, and she's like, you know.

• 45:39Mary Beth Barone?

  Mother of four.

• 45:40Benito Skinner?

  She said, dump 'em.

• 45:42Mary Beth Barone?

  Dump 'em.

• 45:43Benito Skinner?

I ride for it. I mean, who, why, I would live in a glass house if I didn't. I love posting a thirst trap. I think they're just fun and it's like, who gives a fuck? We're not here for that long and I am proud of the work and I'm proud of, proud of the rig, so I'm gonna show it off. And I love seeing my friends post them. I'm like, oh, like seeing a friend post a really good one, I'm like, I hope that all your dreams come true. Everything you wanted that to get you, I hope you get.

• 46:07Mary Beth Barone?

I don't think straight men have totally mastered the art yet. I think that those can be really risky and I understand why you're

• 46:14Benito Skinner?

But they're a good lesson in not doing too much because then when they do, we go crazy.

• 46:18Mary Beth Barone?

  Yeah, I would say like

• 46:19Benito Skinner?

  So it's smart. It's a balance.

• 46:20Mary Beth Barone?

Moderation. Straight guys, like, I think you could be posting more. Take those risks and just like, yeah, live, laugh, love, because we'd love to see what you're working with.

• 46:29Benito Skinner?

  One, two, three. Dump.

• 46:32Mary Beth Barone?

  Dump.

• 46:34Benito Skinner?

  Oh, my exit.

• 46:35Mary Beth Barone?

Benny, babe, eyes on the road. Benny, go!
