Support for the show comes from Jira by Atlassian. AI is only as useful as the context it has to work from, but when that context is scattered across tools, threads, and DMs, that means your team and your AI agents end up flying blind. That's the problem that Jira solves. What's the goal tied to your project? What got decided last week in Slack? Atlassian's teamwork graph pulls all these pieces together, from Jira, Confluence, Slack, GitHub, and more, so nothing falls through the cracks. With Jira, you can actually share that context with the AI agents you already use, like Claude, Cursor, and GitHub Copilot, assign them work directly, or connect your agents through MCP. Spend less time digging through endless links and DMs, less time chasing down what got decided and by

It was one of the worst things I've ever...

• 1:23Speaker 01

I was gonna wait till the end for this because my take on this is nostalgia is ruining your guys' taste. This is all objectively horrible, but I'll let you finish.

• 1:35Andrew Manganelli?

Marquez is the least nostalgic person in the world.

• 1:38Speaker 01

  This is all really bad.

• 1:39David Imel?

I didn't say I wanted this. I just said I was excited to talk about the Nintendo Switch 2 again.

• 1:48Speaker 01

Yeah, what is up, people of the internet? Welcome back to another episode of The Waveform Podcast. We're your hosts. I'm Marquez.

• 1:53Andrew Manganelli?

  I'm Andrew.

• 1:53Speaker 01

And I'm David. This week, we've got last week of... Nope, just kidding. First week of February, we've got new products, we've got dead products, and we've got updated products. So, we've got the whole spectrum of stuff to talk about.

• 2:07Andrew Manganelli?

That's the vague of an intro, as we did.

• 2:10Speaker 01

A little teaser, like Dead Products is kind of exciting, but also Dead Products that you've probably heard of from a big company. That's a little more exciting, right? Uh, also, we have a game to play again. It was a lot of fun last week.

• 2:19Andrew Manganelli?

  It was.

• 2:19Speaker 01

It's a different game this week.

• 2:20Andrew Manganelli?

It's a different game that I stole this week.

• 2:22Speaker 01

  Sick.

• 2:23Andrew Manganelli?

  Just like always.

• 2:24Speaker 01

But first, a little bit of self-promotion. I have to just make sure everyone who is listening to this podcast has seen, or at least had the opportunity to see the latest studio video, which is our full, final, feature-length, year-in-the-life vlog of what it's like to be here at the studio and to work on a YouTube channel slash collective of channels for 365 days. It happens to be this channel, so it's a tech channel, so there's all the fun of like the waves of like the off-season ramping up into the busy season and the off-season again. And there's, there's just a lot to it, and it is a labor of love for the team to put it all together.

• 3:05Speaker 01

Think about how much footage and how many shots and how much stuff happens that we collect over the course of the year. We were sort of editing it during the year as it went and sort of building the bridge as we crossed it, if you will.

• 3:18David Imel?

Imagine if we had used Premiere and it would have just.

• 3:20Andrew Manganelli?

  It'd still be exporting.

• 3:23Speaker 01

It would have crashed and autosave wouldn't have worked and we would have been in the middle of the edit.

• 3:27David Imel?

Some say it's still crashing to this day.

• 3:28Andrew Manganelli?

If, if anyone wants to know why Ellis was only here for the game last week, he was in the trenches for a very long time, but yeah.

• 3:36Speaker 01

  Yeah, Ellis barely slept.

• 3:37Andrew Manganelli?

Yeah, there's a comment that was like, why does it look like Ellis just woke up?

• 3:41Speaker 01

  He did.

• 3:43Andrew Manganelli?

You can't wake up, he's still asleep.

• 3:44Speaker 03

I hadn't woken up for days.

• 3:48Speaker 01

Yeah, it's exactly the length of a 1990s rom-com, so if you're choosing between the two, I think you know which one you need to pick.

• 3:54Andrew Manganelli?

  I'm, yeah.

• 3:55Speaker 01

Absolutely. You should definitely watch it. It's, it's super fun.

• 3:57Andrew Manganelli?

It's the When Harry Met Sally of YouTube.

• 4:00Speaker 01

  I've never seen that.

• 4:01Andrew Manganelli?

It's pretty good. You should watch it.

• 4:02Speaker 01

That means I should see it, huh?

• 4:03Andrew Manganelli?

Okay. Next year's gonna be The Love Actually, two and a half hours. The rest of this episode, we're just naming 90s rom-coms.

• 4:09Speaker 01

Spoiler, we're gonna do another one. Every year.

• 4:13David Imel?

No, Marquez. Don't say that now. What have we ever changed?

• 4:16Andrew Manganelli?

I thought next was a decade in the life.

• 4:19Speaker 01

It's not out of the question. We could do that, too.

• 4:21David Imel?

  That would be crazy.

• 4:21Speaker 01

But yeah, I think it's really-

• 4:22David Imel?

  That'd be like Boyhood, dude.

• 4:24Speaker 01

It's really good for the behind the scenes. It's the, it's the look behind the curtain and the studio ethos and all that.

• 4:30Andrew Manganelli?

Yeah. I mean, even if you just love waveform, there's some good waveform behind the scenes. There's like our first live show in Austin, our first live stream and all the technical difficulties we had. There was like the man on the street episode at Apple campus. So there's a lot of waveform stuff you can see also.

• 4:45Speaker 01

All right. Should we start with the alive products, the updated products or the dead products?

• 4:49David Imel?

  Dead.

• 4:49Speaker 01

  The dead products.

• 4:50David Imel?

  One and dead or alive?

• 4:51Speaker 01

People have been talking about this. Tesla has announced that they will be stopping production this year of the Model S and the Model X.

• 5:01Andrew Manganelli?

  Whoops.

• 5:02Speaker 01

Uh, these are their OG flagship longest running vehicles. So they made the Tesla Roadster originally, which was essentially a Lotus Elise that had the guts removed and turned into an electric car, which is a fun project, but then they started making their own car, the Tesla Model S, which has been, I guess it's 15 plus years of Tesla Model S and being a flagship in what Tesla puts their latest and greatest technologies in. And then Model X, which is the big SUV with the Falcon wing doors and uh, the sort of relative performance in that price category. It's the most expensive cars.

• 5:36Speaker 01

And they've announced that they're going to be stopping production of them to make space for production of the Optimus robot in that factory. Apparently it's, so they were making them all in that one factory and they will be making that space uh, for Optimus robots.

• 5:51David Imel?

This has not bode too well for the 2017 Roadster.

• 5:55Speaker 01

That's what I was thinking. Uh, so my first, my initial thought is uh, it's not actually that surprising, I think. The Model S and X didn't sell a ton. It was always like a light refresh here, a light refresh there. You know, the plaid came out, that was sort of a big update. And then again, light refresh here and there. So it kind of ended up looking the same for a long time, which a lot of people noticed, but they didn't put as much, or I guess they put much more attention on Model 3 and Model Y and expanding those into a ton of different markets. And obviously a lot more people buy these less expensive vehicles. If you look at the sales breakdown now for 2025, Tesla Model 3 and Y are 90 something percent of their sales.

• 6:35David Imel?

  Wow.

• 6:35Speaker 01

1.6 million produced. And then S, X, and Cybertruck combined was 53,900.

• 6:44David Imel?

  Whoa.

• 6:45Speaker 01

  So.

• 6:46David Imel?

  Combined?

• 6:46Speaker 01

Combined. So on paper, it's not actually that insane to just stop making.

• 6:50David Imel?

  That's worldwide too.

• 6:51Speaker 01

  That's worldwide.

• 6:52David Imel?

  Holy moly.

• 6:53Speaker 01

So that's, that's the peek behind the curtain. Them justifying it with the, with the

• 6:58David Imel?

  Optimus.

• 6:59Speaker 01

Robot, I don't know if that even matters at all to me. I don't, I guess.

• 7:02David Imel?

  I think that's just.

• 7:02Speaker 01

Optimistic and use that as justification.

• 7:05David Imel?

  Tick.

• 7:05Andrew Manganelli?

It's a, it feels like a, just something they're saying to make it seem like they're not just totally quitting on it. They're like, oh no, we have bigger and better things that we're working on better.

• 7:14Speaker 01

It's, there's, there's a ton of, a ton of businesses that cut their 5% loss leaders. And that's not like a shocking headline. It's just, we, we've become so familiar with Model S and Model X over time. They've been such staples that it's kind of like, oh, they're actually going away. Wow.

• 7:28David Imel?

And it feels crazy because it feels like it was just yesterday that they released the Plaid models. I mean, it was a few years ago at this point. I think it was like right, like only a few months after I started working here that they released those.

• 7:39Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 7:39David Imel?

But I remember writing in yours when you first got it and I was like, holy moly.

• 7:43Speaker 01

Yeah, that was the first time that I remember Tesla not delivering something that they said they would. So they've been various versions of this. Remember Model 3, they were like.

• 7:53David Imel?

  Wait, wait.

• 7:54Speaker 01

  Not?

• 7:55David Imel?

  What about the Roadster?

• 7:56Andrew Manganelli?

  Roadster's 2017.

• 7:57Speaker 01

No, no, no. Okay. So I guess officially cancelling would be my version of that. Cause they, they'd said that they're going to make Plaid and Plaid Plus.

• 8:05David Imel?

  Oh, yeah.

• 8:06Speaker 01

And then Plaid came out and then they officially went, we're not going to make Plaid Plus anymore. And then converted those pre-orders to Plaid.

• 8:14David Imel?

  Got it.

• 8:14Speaker 01

And I was like, oh, okay. They, they would do that. And they've had kind of versions of this in the past. Like they announced a bunch of specs for Model 3 and they sort of slowly adjusted that lineup. But yeah, there's been, they, they continue to claim they're going to make the Roadster. So they haven't canceled that project.

• 8:32David Imel?

  Yeah.

• 8:32Speaker 01

  It wouldn't.

• 8:33David Imel?

  Well.

• 8:33Speaker 01

Shock me. It wouldn't shock me if the Cybertruck was also under consideration.

• 8:38David Imel?

  Yeah.

• 8:39Speaker 01

Maybe out of pride, they'll keep it going. For a bit longer and and see how sales go, but they have not gone well lately.

• 8:45David Imel?

  Yeah.

• 8:47Speaker 01

So we'll see. But yeah, obviously, the combined total 50,000 produced of all three of those vehicles. It's not exactly shocking that they can still be a car company with just three NY. And be pretty, pretty fine.

• 8:59David Imel?

  Yeah.

• 8:59Andrew Manganelli?

When did Cybertruck first get announced?

• 9:02Speaker 01

  Announced?

• 9:02David Imel?

  Twenty twenty.

• 9:03Speaker 01

  Twenty nineteen, right?

• 9:04David Imel?

Twenty twenty or twenty twenty one.

• 9:05Andrew Manganelli?

How long did it take to come out?

• 9:07Speaker 01

It was either, oh, no, I think it was early twenty twenty one, like March or something.

• 9:13David Imel?

The event date where he threw the the ball and it broke the window was in twenty twenty.

• 9:17Speaker 01

I have the video. I published those the night of November twenty second, twenty nineteen.

• 9:22David Imel?

  Twenty nineteen.

• 9:22Speaker 01

  Wow.

• 9:23David Imel?

  What?

• 9:23Andrew Manganelli?

So it came out twenty twenty three, so it took four years to come out. Do we think it lives longer than four years?

• 9:29Speaker 01

Lives longer than four years. So when's that?

• 9:32Andrew Manganelli?

  Next year?

• 9:33Speaker 01

Next year? I think it could make that long. Yeah.

• 9:37David Imel?

That'd be pretty embarrassing if R two got released and Cybertruck got shut down.

• 9:41Speaker 01

That would be tough. Yeah, R two is supposed to be this year as well.

• 9:45David Imel?

  Yeah.

• 9:46Speaker 01

  R two, though, is like.

• 9:47Andrew Manganelli?

  They're a bit different.

• 9:48Speaker 01

It's supposed to be their like mass market thing.

• 9:51Andrew Manganelli?

There's two other little Tesla things or Tesla related things here. One thing we missed when we were talking about the, or maybe it just happened after. But remember, we were talking about how full self driving is going to subscription only model?

• 10:03David Imel?

  Yeah.

• 10:04Andrew Manganelli?

One thing it seems like they took away just from all Teslas is the auto steer, or at least auto steer on Model three and Model Y as like just a base option. Because their naming is always so confusing. Autopilot just comes with cars, right?

• 10:18David Imel?

  Yeah, yeah.

• 10:19Speaker 01

It's not full self drive. Yeah, full self driving is the full suite. Autopilot is the lesser basic suite.

• 10:26Andrew Manganelli?

And auto and then the the auto steer is like automatically in centering, right? Which at this point, most cars have.

• 10:34Speaker 01

  Those new cars.

• 10:35Andrew Manganelli?

Yeah, the twenty twenty six base Corolla has auto. It seems like they just took it out. Of autopilot on Model 3 and Model Y.

• 10:45David Imel?

  On new ones?

• 10:46Andrew Manganelli?

It's it's just when you purchase them now, it's not listed in the uh the features of what it comes with. There is still traffic aware cruise control, but I saw a bunch of people on Reddit freaking or on Twitter like uh. So we just lost all uh lane centering now. AKA if you don't buy full self-driving, this is now like one of the least technologically advanced cars in terms of this quote unquote self-driving.

• 11:13David Imel?

So they're trying to push people to spend the ninety nine dollars a month.

• 11:16Andrew Manganelli?

Because part of Elon's giant trillion dollar performance package is based on ten million active full self self-driving subscriptions.

• 11:24David Imel?

So that's so that's one of the levers basically that Tesla is pulling to help try to push people towards buying full self-driving by making the car that doesn't help full self-driving worse than normal.

• 11:34Andrew Manganelli?

  Yeah.

• 11:35David Imel?

By not having any sort of.

• 11:36Andrew Manganelli?

  What everyone.

• 11:37David Imel?

  Drive assist, I see.

• 11:38Andrew Manganelli?

It makes a lot of sense.

• 11:39David Imel?

That seems like a horrible idea. Cause there's all these other cars out there that have the equivalent of what they already have.

• 11:46Andrew Manganelli?

I think it's really hypocritical also to be like Teslas are the safest on the road because look at all these things they help do to like distracted drivers, but like take it away. It's like when they took away uh two factor authentication on Twitter.

• 12:00David Imel?

  Yeah.

• 12:00Andrew Manganelli?

  Like for just.

• 12:01David Imel?

  Put it behind a paywall.

• 12:01Andrew Manganelli?

  Put it behind a paywall.

• 12:03David Imel?

  Yeah.

• 12:03Andrew Manganelli?

  It feels like that, but.

• 12:04David Imel?

  Yeah, that's crazy.

• 12:05Andrew Manganelli?

Um and then the other quick thing, do you want to talk?

• 12:08David Imel?

Yeah, I'll talk about this. Okay, the other quick thing is that SpaceX basically acquired XAI or is merging with XAI.

• 12:16Speaker 03

I think you're right that they acquired.

• 12:18David Imel?

  Acquired.

• 12:18Speaker 03

  XAI.

• 12:19David Imel?

Yeah, and are merging with it by acquiring it and XAI acquired X, Twitter. So the reason that people think that they're doing this, I mean, now it's like it's the combined company is valued at over a trillion dollars, which is insane. Um and I know that they have been talking about eventually taking it public and it would be the first IPO to IPO over a trillion, which is just.

• 12:43Speaker 03

How much of that trillion do you think comes from XAI versus SpaceX?

• 12:47David Imel?

So that's thing, okay? SpaceX is hugely profitable. Uh XAI is not. XAI is reportedly burning over a billion dollars a month on both data center fees and employees, uh which is just insane.

• 13:00Speaker 03

Light work. Sam Altman wishes that's all he was burning.

• 13:03David Imel?

Yeah. Ironically, like, they basically merged XAI and Twitter because Twitter was losing too much money, and now they're merging XAI slash Twitter and SpaceX because XAI was losing too much money.

• 13:17Speaker 01

It's weird. That's just such a weird company. Sometimes I think about like Tesla was already kind of a weird company when you think about it as far as the range of things that they would make. What other car company makes both a $40,000 sedan?

• 13:31David Imel?

  Yeah.

• 13:31Speaker 01

And a $200,000 sports car? And, is what they would claim to make, and a semi truck?

• 13:39David Imel?

  Yeah, right.

• 13:39Speaker 01

And a pickup truck. Like, I can't think of a car company that does all of them well.

• 13:44Andrew Manganelli?

Does Toyota have a sports car?

• 13:45Speaker 01

Do they have a $200,000, like, supercar?

• 13:48David Imel?

  Don't?

• 13:49Speaker 01

  And a semi truck?

• 13:50Andrew Manganelli?

Don't they make trucks like? Aren't the big 16-wheelers?

• 13:54Speaker 01

I know Volvo makes trucks. Like, there's some.

• 13:55Andrew Manganelli?

  Toyota has one, yeah.

• 13:57Speaker 01

That was already strange to me.

• 13:58Speaker 04

I don't think Toyota makes semi trucks.

• 14:00Andrew Manganelli?

No, no, oh, sorry. I just meant like, big pickup trucks.

• 14:02Speaker 01

Yeah, but then, you know, the Tesla semi truck. It's like, what company does all these things? So, this is an even weirder set of companies?

• 14:10David Imel?

  Yeah.

• 14:10Speaker 01

Oh, we're a, we're a software company and AI company. We also have a social network and we also do rockets.

• 14:17David Imel?

The way that Musk is trying to

• 14:19Andrew Manganelli?

  This is so funny.

• 14:21David Imel?

make this make any sense is he's saying that in order to scale AI, you're going to have to put data centers in space, and the only way to do that is with SpaceX. So now you're gonna put these AI data centers in space that are powered by solar.

• 14:36Speaker 01

He's like doing the, like, pointing.

• 14:37David Imel?

I can't wait for it. And then at the very end of his statement, he's like, "And a free speech social media network." And it's like, how does that have anything to do with the rest of your industries? I don't know. It kind of feels like we're accelerating towards that sort of, uh, I feel like in every, in like Back to the Future, and like every sort of like future movie where there's a lot of dystopia going on, there's always the like Musk Industries type thing. And that's, that's what this company is eventually going to become. Because Tesla, I mean, they're getting rid of their main cars. They're having problems constantly. I would not be surprised if in two to three years Tesla also merged with SpaceX.

• 15:13Speaker 01

And then they add SpaceX rockets to the Roadster and it finally ships and it obviously was gonna happen the whole time.

• 15:19David Imel?

I don't know about finally ships, but he can make the excuse because he's already, he has said that they're gonna put rocket boosters on the back of the Roadster.

• 15:26Speaker 01

  He has said that.

• 15:26David Imel?

He has said that. He's said many things. Um, so you could see him making that argument and I feel like they would just call it X Industries or something and it's just everything. If you wanted to make the everything app, he is certainly making the everything company. I don't know about the everything app.

• 15:41Speaker 03

I feel like every time one of his companies merge, it's to like solve the problem of another company.

• 15:45David Imel?

  That's, yeah.

• 15:46Speaker 03

What is gonna happen after SpaceX, like when SpaceX and like, let's say they do this and then they need to keep growing. What do you merge with? There's nothing left.

• 15:53David Imel?

Well, luckily SpaceX is actually bringing in a lot of revenue.

• 15:56Speaker 03

For now, while the government is giving it all its money because it's defunding NASA, but like.

• 16:00David Imel?

Yeah, and Starlink brings in a lot of money. Yeah, Starlink brings in a ton of money.

• 16:04Speaker 04

Yeah, I do think the big point though is that like, like there wasn't enough liquid capital to keep.

• 16:10David Imel?

  XAI running.

• 16:11Speaker 04

To keep X, not even XAI running, but just keep XAI expanding.

• 16:14David Imel?

  Yeah.

• 16:15Speaker 04

To keep pace with its competitors. And so Elon was just like, well, I could tap into my other company's money. Sorry, investors.

• 16:23Speaker 01

It's like when Microsoft bailed out Apple, except you're bailing out yourself.

• 16:27Andrew Manganelli?

Uh, Ellis and I were talking about a tweet we saw earlier.

• 16:30Speaker 01

  Bootstraps.

• 16:32Andrew Manganelli?

Ellis and I both saw a tweet that was like Elon's buying Twitter for the third time.

• 16:39David Imel?

  Speaking of, um.

• 16:41Andrew Manganelli?

  Big disappointments.

• 16:42David Imel?

There's probably rare metals in rocket ships.

• 16:46Speaker 03

I kinda like the big disappointments.

• 16:48David Imel?

Oh, that was a better, that was a better one.

• 16:50Speaker 03

We can keep it. Let's keep both.

• 16:52David Imel?

  Speaking of potential big disappointments.

• 16:55Speaker 03

  There you go.

• 16:57David Imel?

And I'm not talking about what my mom said before I was born.

• 17:00Speaker 03

  Damn.

• 17:01David Imel?

The Samsung Galaxy S26, there's a report that it will not have G2. And I know that I said I was 102% sure and you know what? I'm doubling the [bleep] down.

• 17:13David Imel?

I'm doubling down because I got nothing to lose at this point.

• 17:16Andrew Manganelli?

Well, I'll explain. Do you want me to explain why?

• 17:19David Imel?

  Yes.

• 17:19Andrew Manganelli?

So Ben Shune at 955 Google did an article and what happened is there's leak of some S26 cases. Now, the issue with these cases is there's two versions of them. One with a magnetic ring, one without a magnetic ring. And when you have magnets in the back of a phone, they work really well to connect to a ring. But when you have a case now in between that magnetic connection, without another ring adding additional magnets to keep the strength, you're losing kind of the features of the ring. So we're kind of looking at this case with no ring as the writing on the wall of there's probably no magnets inside.

• 17:57David Imel?

You know, if Samsung liked this phone, they should have put a ring on it. That's all I'm gonna say.

• 18:01Andrew Manganelli?

  Damn.

• 18:01Speaker 01

  That was a bar.

• 18:02David Imel?

  So good.

• 18:05David Imel?

I don't know, man. That was good. Now, now Google is gonna have all these ads that are like, we've had magnets for two years. And Samsung can't get their [BLEEP] together.

• 18:14Speaker 01

Why Samsung? I have all these like theories and like, I'm working on a video idea now about, we were talking about silicon carbon batteries before, about how we've seen this divide of some companies just going for it with silicon carbon batteries and some standing on the sidelines and not jumping in. And I think that's interesting. Samsung is standing on the sidelines. But Samsung isn't doing anything with their main flagship. Which is, I get it. It's like the three and the Y. It's like.

• 18:42Andrew Manganelli?

  Privacy screen.

• 18:44Speaker 01

That's totally valid. Actually, that's kind of really interesting. And we'll get to that maybe in a little bit. But it's like the, the design itself has been unchanged for the past like four, five years now. And that's, not that there's anything wrong with the design, but you kind of start to wonder, are they gonna improve anything? Like the cameras haven't gotten much better. The chip just gets the normal spec bump every year. The batteries have been almost the same size every year. It's been four or five years since we've gotten a real meaningful change to these phones. And I don't think they're gonna do it. And this was an opportunity to do something to give people with three-year-old S23s a reason to upgrade. And I just, they just skipped it. So it's interesting.

• 19:21David Imel?

I think they're just leaning into less towards consumers and more towards just like, like business phones and just being able to like ship the default of everything and.

• 19:31Speaker 01

  It's not, yeah.

• 19:33Andrew Manganelli?

It's not a great path to go down to continue doing it. It feels like the the way to get forgotten really easily, but when you're trying to be the default.

• 19:40David Imel?

I guess it depends, because like when people buy Android phones, besides the enthusiasts, do people just want reliable same? Or do they want?

• 19:48Speaker 01

I guess that's what's that's that's us enthusiasts talking and then regular people just buying the same thing over and over anyway. Why should they change it?

• 19:57Andrew Manganelli?

I feel like Motorola and LG kinda were doing that and then Samsung kept being like, we're flashy, look at us and kind of took that share over and then became the default and now they're coasting.

• 20:05David Imel?

Yeah, but LG also made the wing.

• 20:07Andrew Manganelli?

Yeah, well, because LG was already scared at that point. Yeah, that was their like.

• 20:12David Imel?

They did like have a gimmick on every phone that they sold, though.

• 20:14Andrew Manganelli?

  Yeah.

• 20:15David Imel?

I mean, that was the thing at the time for Android phones. You can't really doubt them, blame them for that.

• 20:19Andrew Manganelli?

This one, though, like adding magnets to the back. So we've we've heard how like maybe silicon carbon is longevity might be an issue like they're maybe still testing this stuff. A couple magnets on the back to ensure better like charging and give you some accessories seems like the safest bet in the world. I want to know what the potential downside other than profit margins is on like adding this.

• 20:43Speaker 01

Okay, also because Samsung phones are like the phone that you switch to from an iPhone. Like you would want to have all of the available features. People who have tons of MagSafe accessories, just give them the magnets.

• 20:55David Imel?

I've only really heard of people switching to pixels from iPhone because I think you need a lot of pull if you're going to switch from the iPhone. And the pixel is the only thing that has like a lot of interesting, fun things that might actually make you think about it.

• 21:08Andrew Manganelli?

It is. I wonder, I think Samsung could be the one if, but the way it gets switched from an iPhone isn't, I want to use this instead of an iPhone. It's Apple did something I really don't like.

• 21:19David Imel?

  Yeah.

• 21:19Andrew Manganelli?

Which has been in the news lately. And then like now I'm going to switch because I'm anti Apple going to switch to what the default is.

• 21:26David Imel?

Or Samsung was like, we can make more money if we sell you a case with a magnet in it.

• 21:31Andrew Manganelli?

That partially is. I I bet their real excuse is 99% of people use case and the case is going to have the magnet in it if you really want it anyways.

• 21:38David Imel?

And G2 ready probably costs less licensing than G2.

• 21:42Andrew Manganelli?

  Is it? I mean, I don't, I don't know.

• 21:45David Imel?

  Cause there's C2 ready and C2.

• 21:47Andrew Manganelli?

Do you still need licensing from the same?

• 21:49David Imel?

To be able to, yeah, from the Wireless Power Consortium.

• 21:52Speaker 01

I just feel like at Samsung's scale, why are you penny pinching? Like, just do the thing that everyone loves.

• 21:58David Imel?

Cause you sell hundreds of millions of units and then a penny becomes a hundred million dollars.

• 22:03Speaker 03

I wonder how long ago this phone was just made already?

• 22:08Andrew Manganelli?

It is the S23 plus plus plus.

• 22:10Speaker 03

It's like the same, they haven't really added anything, you know?

• 22:13Andrew Manganelli?

I love when people say that.

• 22:14David Imel?

That's actually a good point. We're acting as if they're making this decision yesterday or today, yeah.

• 22:20Andrew Manganelli?

Cause like, how are they gonna know that?

• 22:21Speaker 03

Pixel Snap was a thing or Maxi, it's like, do people really want that? I don't know, let's ride it out and see. I bet eventually they'll.

• 22:27Speaker 01

Maxi's been a thing, though. I feel like they could have, they could have gotten off since the 12. I will say, this reminds me of a headline that was maybe a couple of days ago, which was that Nothing made another announcement, Nothing the phone company, that they were not going to release a new flagship, Nothing Phone 4.

• 22:43David Imel?

  Yeah.

• 22:43Speaker 01

Because, and they actually said, they don't need to release a new flagship every year. Because, you know, if there's nothing new to come out with, then why release another flagship? And some of us were like, yeah, that's actually a totally valid place to be. But if you're Samsung, every year is somebody's third year on a phone and they're gonna get ready to upgrade. So every year is an opportunity to have something with the newest chip on the shelf. So of course they're gonna make a new phone every year, they're Samsung. So I see both sides of it, I'm just like, I, it would have been so easy to put the Maxi.

• 23:22David Imel?

Also curious for Carl P to be like, phones are going to be much more expensive this year and we're not really.

• 23:29Andrew Manganelli?

I, I do think, cause we, this looks exactly the same. One way this could have been a sweet phone is like, you add two cool features to it. If you added the like, in-display privacy protector and C2, for the enthusiast, you kinda have a banger.

• 23:46Speaker 01

You're looking at the MVP award, baby.

• 23:48David Imel?

Question, what if they just put that stuff in the Ultra? And then like, cute, what if the Ultra had C2 built in and these cases are only for the regular ones?

• 23:57Andrew Manganelli?

That could be true. Have they

• 24:00Speaker 01

Cause I would give them that idea.

• 24:01David Imel?

Phone like that's the enthusiast model, right?

• 24:04Speaker 01

It's the expensive one with the margin to play with.

• 24:06David Imel?

They could just start shoving the enthusiast features just into that phone.

• 24:09Speaker 01

And if it has success, then move it down to the S27 or something.

• 24:13David Imel?

  Yeah, yeah, yeah.

• 24:14Speaker 01

  Gosh.

• 24:15Andrew Manganelli?

We'll have to see. So this isn't full confirmation that it won't have it, but

• 24:19David Imel?

  Yeah.

• 24:19Andrew Manganelli?

It seems unfavorable to the G2 fans out there.

• 24:24David Imel?

  Yeah.

• 24:24Andrew Manganelli?

  There's dozens of us.

• 24:27Andrew Manganelli?

They're probably all listening to this podcast.

• 24:29David Imel?

I mean, everyone loves MagSafe, so everyone loves G2.

• 24:31Andrew Manganelli?

It is. I still think it's the best phone accessory or feature that's happened in the last five years.

• 24:38David Imel?

For many people that upgraded from Pixel nine to Pixel 10 or just wanted to, it was a big reason why a lot of people justified doing it. So.

• 24:45Speaker 01

  Even though they could just.

• 24:46David Imel?

Not the lanyard on the CMF Phone 2 Pro.

• 24:48Andrew Manganelli?

Oh, I did forget about that.

• 24:49David Imel?

  The lanyard.

• 24:50Speaker 01

  That's pretty good.

• 24:51David Imel?

And the upgradable accessories that they will keep adding accessories for totally for real, for real, oh my God. Well, um, speaking of things that we thought would be real, but apparently are not, uh, Ansel, uh, Apple, Ansel Adams, Apple Adams, Adams Apple. Apple has canceled the Pro Apps Bundle for Education, which was like the best year, uh, the best deal of the decade.

• 25:15Andrew Manganelli?

  It really was.

• 25:15David Imel?

And then they just quietly removed it. So.

• 25:19Andrew Manganelli?

It's, I wanted to put this in because we just gave Apple a ton of credit on creating the Creator Studio subscriptions, but also leaving all the one-time purchases. They haven't gone totally off the rail and took and taken that all away. This is specifically the bundle for education. It was $200 for Final Cut Pro, Logic Pro Motion Compressor and Main Stage, which is Honestly, I feel like they forgot about it and one day just went like, oh, where people can still spend that little?

• 25:45David Imel?

  That is an insane deal.

• 25:47Andrew Manganelli?

It's a crazy deal. You still can use an educational discount to buy each of them individually. It is way more expensive to do it that way. Um, I don't know when this happened. I think the first time I saw about it was like a week ago, but It's recent enough that AI overview, everyone's favorite 100% accurate AI.

• 26:07Andrew Manganelli?

Still says that it's available and attempts to link it.

• 26:10David Imel?

  Yeah.

• 26:10Andrew Manganelli?

Um, but yeah, this just feels like the first crack in the wall of. Be wary of us offering one-time purchases for the rest of time.

• 26:21Speaker 01

I still think the one-time purchases are great deals. I mean, I, obviously, this was an incredible deal. I'm looking at this now, Final Cut, Logic, Motion Compressor, and Mame Stage for $200. Even just Final Cut and Logic for $200 is a great deal.

• 26:34David Imel?

  Yeah.

• 26:35Speaker 01

I looked it up. It was, I think, well, I gotta get it right now.

• 26:38Andrew Manganelli?

  Final Cut's like $400, non-education?

• 26:41Speaker 01

Yeah, $400 lifetime, and I bought it like almost a decade ago at this point.

• 26:44David Imel?

  300. Final Cut was 300, I think.

• 26:47Speaker 01

  Either way.

• 26:47David Imel?

  Yeah.

• 26:48Speaker 01

Got my value worth out of that, so.

• 26:50David Imel?

  Yeah.

• 26:50Speaker 01

  Uh, yeah, it's.

• 26:52Andrew Manganelli?

  $299, yes.

• 26:53Speaker 01

It makes sense for them to go for the education discount and get those young customers, those young pups on those Apple apps instead of the Adobe ones.

• 27:01David Imel?

The reason they, almost definitely the reason they did this is because the Apple Creator Studio they just launched, and there is a student discount that makes it $3 a month for everything, which is like insane.

• 27:12Speaker 01

  They're just gonna.

• 27:12David Imel?

Or 30 bucks a year as opposed to the regular one, which is $130 a year.

• 27:18Speaker 01

So this is the equivalent of what we were just talking about earlier with Tesla, where they get rid of the one-time payment thing to leverage people into the subscription.

• 27:25David Imel?

  Yeah.

• 27:26Speaker 01

  It's the exact.

• 27:27David Imel?

  Exact same thing.

• 27:29Andrew Manganelli?

Imagine if Apple went the Tesla route of, here's your one-time purchase for Final Cut, and then you buy a new computer, and it doesn't transfer over to your new computer?

• 27:36Speaker 01

Yeah, that would be a bummer.

• 27:39Andrew Manganelli?

I've, maybe delete that so they don't get that idea, because someone's writing that down over there.

• 27:44Speaker 01

Can we do that? Yeah, part of the capitalism thing is that you have to keep scaling recurring revenue sources infinitely forever until the end of time.

• 27:53David Imel?

  Shareholder value, baby.

• 27:54Speaker 01

  Yeah, and any.

• 27:56David Imel?

  Just ship it into space.

• 27:58Speaker 01

Any non-recurring revenue, people are like, hmm, but you're gonna saturate your market. Which is true, that's what happened to boosted boards, but I still miss the era where you could just buy Windows, and it was the version you had, so.

• 28:12Speaker 04

While we were working on Yiddle, I was mixing it in software called Pro Tools, which I own my own personal copy of, I have for many years, which is like a whole other thing, because Pro Tools sells this thing called a perpetual license, which is just not that.

• 28:26Speaker 01

  What?

• 28:27Speaker 04

Yeah, that's like a whole other thing to get into.

• 28:30Speaker 01

  What?

• 28:30Speaker 04

But I have the mid-tier version of Pro Tools, it's called Pro Tools Studio, costs about $500 bucks. And for a perpetual license, you can also get the subscription. I ran out of tracks. Pro Tools, Pro Tools Studio limits you to 512 tracks. So the middle of Yiddle hit the track limit. I was like, all right, all good. I'll just buy the upgrade. You know, I use this all the time. I want to own a personal copy. I'll just buy the upgrade. There's no upgrade. You just have to buy Pro Tools Ultimate.

• 29:00David Imel?

  Subscription, which is the subscription?

• 29:02Speaker 04

No, you can, there's a, there's another perpetual license. The reason I put perpetual in quotes is because

• 29:07David Imel?

  Oh no, really?

• 29:08Speaker 04

The perpetual license only gives you updates for one year. And then you have to buy an update pack and the update pack is like 80% of the price of the, of the license.

• 29:17Andrew Manganelli?

So it's like you can keep using it perpetually, but you can't get the updates.

• 29:22Speaker 04

You can't get the updates and oftentimes if you update like the OS, like if you update the most recent version of Mac OS, it won't open anymore because it's only compatible.

• 29:30David Imel?

So it forces you to buy the update pack?

• 29:32Speaker 04

And the update pack again is like most of the price of the actual software.

• 29:36David Imel?

And it doesn't come with the stuff in Ultimate.

• 29:39Speaker 04

And there's no upgrade. So it's like, it was like, I couldn't be like, oh, I already spent $500. I'll just spend another thousand. No, it's like 1500.

• 29:46David Imel?

What? And how many tracks does that give you?

• 29:49Speaker 04

1024, which is enough to finish Yiddle.

• 29:53Speaker 01

Have we started like colloquially using Yiddle?

• 29:57Andrew Manganelli?

I was gonna say. In the video.

• 29:59Speaker 04

In this, yeah, in the video we referenced.

• 30:00Andrew Manganelli?

In Yiddle, he references us saying.

• 30:03Speaker 01

  But outside of Yiddle.

• 30:03David Imel?

  For people that don't know.

• 30:04Andrew Manganelli?

Well, no, but if you, if you watch, yeah, in there, he explains to everyone that we started.

• 30:09Speaker 01

Inside of Yiddle, people who have watched Yiddle know that it's called Yiddle. But on the podcast where we just start saying Yiddle, do people know what that is?

• 30:16Andrew Manganelli?

  You're right.

• 30:17Speaker 04

It's, no, Yiddle is your life. That's why we can't do decade.

• 30:20David Imel?

  Mentioned.

• 30:21Speaker 01

That's actually a great point. Let's not do that. But yeah, Yiddle. Yeah. Okay. You're in the life. Now y'all know we say Yiddle. That means you're in the life.

• 30:28David Imel?

  Yeah.

• 30:29Speaker 01

  Okay. Yeah.

• 30:30David Imel?

  Cool.

• 30:31Speaker 01

  We should take a break.

• 30:34Speaker 04

I'm sorry, Avid. I didn't mean to throw you under the bus.

• 30:36David Imel?

  Is Avid also a?

• 30:37Speaker 04

Avid makes Pro Tools. Is Avid an acronym?

• 30:41David Imel?

  No.

• 30:42Speaker 04

  Avid, write to me.

• 30:42David Imel?

  Bravia.

• 30:44Speaker 04

And let me know if Avid's an acronym.

• 30:45Andrew Manganelli?

I guess it's still around. I just remember going to film school and being like, I can't wait to learn Avid. It's what all the filmmakers are using.

• 30:52Speaker 04

  It's the same, same company.

• 30:53David Imel?

Sony Vegas, baby. It's all about Sony Vegas.

• 30:55Andrew Manganelli?

It was probably great, but I was, I was like, I'm never using this.

• 30:59Speaker 04

We don't need to get into it. The, the cool, all Avid, Rufus and I were talking about it. We came up with a really good analogy. Like all Avid products are like trying to drive a stick shift car that, that where the only interface is an LLM.

• 31:15Speaker 04

Like the car works fine. It's actually a great car, but the fact that the only way you could interact with it is like, "Hey chat, shift into third gear. Pedal down, pedal down. Brakes, brakes."

• 31:25Andrew Manganelli?

  Like Twitch plays Pokemon.

• 31:26Speaker 04

Yeah, it like, it ruins it.

• 31:28David Imel?

Except you're driving a 70 mile an hour piece of metal.

• 31:31Speaker 04

Exactly. But I do love Pro Tools. Anyway, I think it's time.

• 31:35David Imel?

  Okay.

• 31:41Speaker 04

So in researching today's trivia question, I uncovered a fact that is so ridiculous. I still only half believe it's true, but I was able to find a PC Mag article from 2008 that seemingly confirms it. If anyone in the audience knows more about this, please write to me at [email protected] because I really want to learn more about this crazy story.

• 32:02David Imel?

Sounds like something we're not going to know, but I'm excited.

• 32:05Speaker 04

We've talked a lot about the wireless power consortium on this podcast, but we have not talked about its origins ever.

• 32:14Speaker 04

And its origins come from a company called Fulton Innovation or Fulton Innovations that was trying to standardize the wireless power system that they developed for what kind of product? And when I say kind, I'm not looking for like home goods or automotive. Like I'm looking for a device.

• 32:32David Imel?

  A type of device.

• 32:33Speaker 04

  Yes.

• 32:34Andrew Manganelli?

  Okay.

• 32:35Speaker 04

So, and this is not it. My example would be like digital camera. It's not a digital camera, but that's like the

• 32:40Andrew Manganelli?

Last week, Adam said like an excavator or whatever, and it was an excavator.

• 32:44David Imel?

No, Marquez said, that sounds like an excavator. And then Adam was like, no.

• 32:52Speaker 04

The long story short is that this company, I'll explain the whole thing afterwards. It's really interesting and it actually makes a lot more sense than it does than you would think. But um.

• 33:02David Imel?

  Not a car.

• 33:03Speaker 04

  It's not a car.

• 33:04David Imel?

  Camera.

• 33:05Speaker 04

It's not a camera, although when they were trying to get this off the ground and they were.

• 33:10David Imel?

  Rocket.

• 33:10Speaker 04

At CES being like, hey, check out all the things we can do with wireless power. EV charging was one of the hypothetical use cases they showed off.

• 33:20David Imel?

Oh, I love he lost so much.

• 33:22Speaker 04

I know. Yeah. And also this is in 2008 or 2009. So like.

• 33:25David Imel?

  It's like 30% efficiency.

• 33:27Speaker 04

Well, there weren't really EVs yet. Like there, there was the mini EV prototype that was around.

• 33:33Speaker 01

  The Chevy.

• 33:33Andrew Manganelli?

What was the, there's a RAV4 EV like a long time ago.

• 33:36Speaker 04

No, there was like a, there was a, there was a few, but it wasn't like, it wasn't a thing, you know?

• 33:41David Imel?

When I worked in Intel, they had a bunch of EV chargers in the, um, in the garage and it was just lines of Chevy bolts.

• 33:47Speaker 04

When I worked at Outtel, everything was diesel.

• 33:50David Imel?

  Hell yeah. Bring it back.

• 33:53Speaker 01

  Know that existed. Wow.

• 33:55Andrew Manganelli?

Oh no, the first generation was 97 to 2003.

• 33:58David Imel?

  Oh my gosh.

• 34:00Speaker 04

Are you talking about the Honda Insight?

• 34:01David Imel?

  RAV4 EV.

• 34:02Speaker 01

Before we go into a break, Andrew, can you read the specs of the original Toyota RAV4 EV?

• 34:08Andrew Manganelli?

Was it a full? 97 was, became available on limited basis. Um, in 2001, it was possible for businesses, cities or utilities, at least one or two. They sold 328 of them and 900, 1900 were sold in Japan. Um, blah, blah, blah. A 95, oh, it had an EPA range of 95 miles.

• 34:30Speaker 04

Dude, and Tesla can't even keep the Model X production line open.

• 34:35Andrew Manganelli?

It had a 95 amp hour nickel metal hydrated battery.

• 34:39David Imel?

  Wait.

• 34:40Andrew Manganelli?

A capacity of 27.4 kilowatt hour, charges inductively.

• 34:45David Imel?

  What?

• 34:46Speaker 01

  It charged inductively?

• 34:49David Imel?

Wireless charged in 2000? When did you say this was?

• 34:52Andrew Manganelli?

Um, well, like 97 to 2001.

• 34:55David Imel?

  Yo.

• 34:56Speaker 01

  Whoa, RAV4 was crazy.

• 34:58David Imel?

  Yeah, what? I didn't know.

• 35:01Speaker 04

  Let's go Japan.

• 35:02Andrew Manganelli?

We should get one of these for autofocus.

• 35:03David Imel?

  That'd be dope.

• 35:04Speaker 01

  That's wild.

• 35:05David Imel?

All right. Well, answers to the actual trivia question will be at the end like usual. We'll be right back.

Alright, welcome back. So if you spend a lot of time online, like me, you may have seen a lot of crabs on your social media feeds. YouTube subscriptions and Twitter and threads, just random crabs everywhere. And stuff about molting and molt book and molt.

• 37:52David Imel?

  More of a lobster situation.

• 37:53Andrew Manganelli?

Yeah, I think it's supposed to be lobsters.

• 37:55Speaker 01

  Is it lobsters?

• 37:55Andrew Manganelli?

That is the one thing I seem to know about this.

• 37:57Speaker 01

  It's lobsters, huh?

• 37:58David Imel?

I see a lot of lobsters.

• 37:58Speaker 01

I haven't really paid as much attention as I should have.

• 38:00David Imel?

I definitely thought it was crabs this whole time.

• 38:01Andrew Manganelli?

  No, it's lobsters.

• 38:02Speaker 01

Well, I guess that makes sense because they molt. As a result, I am a little bit confused and left out, and I would like to know what's going on.

• 38:10David Imel?

Alright, I became entrenched in this over the course of the last week.

• 38:13Speaker 01

That's what I need. I need you to get entrenched in this. And then to take what value, whatever value there is in there.

• 38:19David Imel?

  Oh, there's not a lot.

• 38:20Speaker 01

  Pull it out.

• 38:21Andrew Manganelli?

Yeah. Going into it knowing there's no value, I'm more excited. Just leave it at that.

• 38:27David Imel?

It's not that there could be value if you're willing to like throw away your life.

• 38:31Speaker 01

I'll say that on my timeline, it has been mostly people debating if there's any value at all, or if it is the most valuable thing humanity's ever created.

• 38:38David Imel?

  That's sort of the question.

• 38:39Andrew Manganelli?

That seems like the big red flag to prove that something has no value at all.

• 38:43Speaker 01

  I agree.

• 38:44David Imel?

Okay. This, okay, so do you remember, Marquez, when we did the episode around Sam Altman getting fired? And then sort of not getting fired, and then getting hired as the Microsoft's AI CEO? And then actually not, and then becoming CEO again?

• 38:56Speaker 01

  The same episode where Dooley...

• 38:58David Imel?

Dooley Bainer, when he did that stuff. And there was a 300 Mile Polestar.

• 39:02Andrew Manganelli?

  Oh, yeah.

• 39:03David Imel?

Or 400, I don't even remember. Anyway, that's how this situation felt, because this entire thing happened in like four days. It was like every 20 minutes on the internet, there was a new thing happening with this. So if you don't know, we were talking about something that used to be, originally was called Claudebot, but C-L-A-W-D for Claude, that's what the whole lobster thing is from.

• 39:25Speaker 01

  Claw's got it.

• 39:26David Imel?

And then Anthropic, which makes Claude, which is the AI assistant, got mad at them because Claude sounds too much like Claude.

• 39:35Speaker 01

  Fair.

• 39:35David Imel?

Which is fair. So they changed it to Moltbot, but then people were like, that's a horrible name. So then they pretty much immediately changed it again to OpenClaw.

• 39:45Speaker 01

And everyone knows if you use the word open, you're good.

• 39:49David Imel?

Everyone knows the view is the word open, it's actually open.

• 39:51Speaker 03

  Must mean you're open source.

• 39:52David Imel?

Yeah, well, this is actually open source, so there is that. There's that. Anyway, what this is, effectively, it is an AI agent that lives on your computer instead of just in a browser tab. People are calling this something like what Siri should have been, because you can like run it on a Mac Mini, you can run it on like Raspberry Pi, you can run it on like a lot of different hardware, and effectively you give it access to all of your apps. Yeah, you give it access to basically everything in your digital life, your email, your

• 40:24Speaker 03

So a bunch of online services.

• 40:25David Imel?

Exacount, online services, and then you interface with it through like Telegram or WhatsApp or Slack, so you can pick a way to interface with it.

• 40:34Speaker 03

  By sending it messages?

• 40:35David Imel?

By sending it messages, yeah. And the things that make this different from like a general, sort of like regular Claude window agent is that, one, it basically has like infinite memory, has persistent memory, because something that is a problem with current LLMs is that they will continuously forget, I have used Claude code a bit, and if you're coding a project and then you come back to it the next day, it does not remember you, what you were working on, it has to look through your old chats to like, keep up, like, catch up with what you were working

• 41:08Speaker 03

Which is why you have to like start new projects and stuff to give it the context and everything, it's a whole thing.

• 41:12David Imel?

And so the whole selling point of this is that it's sort of a persistent agent that has access to all of your stuff, that can autonomously go do stuff for you. So you can say, you can tell it like, every morning at 7:00 AM, give me a briefing of like, what are the biggest stories on the verge, what's happening on Twitter, blah, blah, blah, and because it's like, you know, it's sort of running on your computer, but it's also accessing things on the internet, it's able to go and do things for you. There have been some developers that are like, here's the app that I'm working on, here's a project I'm working on, I want you to like, add one new feature to it every night while I'm sleeping, and then when I wake up, pitch me the feature, and do a push, like a pull request, and like, merge it if I like the feature.

• 41:55David Imel?

And I think that that is a really interesting idea, you know. All of it, obviously, all of that comes with a lot of trust. Because the whole dream scenario, we've talked about this multiple times, both on the podcast and I think on dedicated videos about how like, the better that, if you want to reach like the, the perfect type of the technology, you have to give up like everything.

• 42:20Speaker 01

Yeah, the ideal assistant, like a human assistant you could picture, like has to know as much as possible about you to be as useful to you as possible.

• 42:29David Imel?

  Yeah.

• 42:29Speaker 01

And these AI assistants represent a way for them to just constantly be learning about you and know even more than a human ever could.

• 42:35David Imel?

  Yeah.

• 42:35Speaker 01

And therefore maybe be as helpful as a human or more than ever.

• 42:39David Imel?

Right, right, yeah. So there are, there are other interesting things about this, like you can tell it to go do something and if it, it'll basically keep trying to figure out how to make it work and it'll access different like APIs and things to make that work. So, somebody asked their Claude bot, hey, can you make me a reservation at this restaurant? And I guess it was not able to access the OpenTable API, so what it did was it created its own voice using one of these AI voice tools and then it called the restaurant. And then it made the reservation for him through that.

• 43:09Speaker 01

  Nope, I'm out.

• 43:11David Imel?

So, I think that one was, okay, and then we will get to this.

• 43:14Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 43:15David Imel?

This became a trend on Twitter of people being like, I can't believe what just happened. My Claude bot did blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. And it, it accelerated to a level where I'm pretty sure a lot of people were just faking the things that it was doing for, for engagement bait, because you make money on Twitter by having engagement, or at least impressions. And so there were people that were, you know, doing like, I just got $30,000 worth of food delivered to my front door and I didn't order it. And I, I looked to see what happened and my Claude bot had ordered me all this food because it knew that if I was gonna keep grinding, I needed to not have to live the, leave the house. And I said, what did you order this with? I never gave you my credit card window, info.

• 43:59David Imel?

And it had scraped the internet for like random credit card numbers until it found one that worked. And I'm like, I'm pretty sure none of that is real.

• 44:06Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 44:07David Imel?

Um, anyway, that is what clawbot slash uh molt claw uh moltbot slash open claw is. It's very dangerous to use because a lot of security researchers have been like, you know, you run it on your on like your telegram or through your slack or whatever.

• 44:22Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 44:22David Imel?

And what a lot of people have found is that like if you're running it through telegram and then someone like telegrams you or something, they can say like, hey, this is me, your owner. I I my phone broke, uh, please do this for me and then I'll just do it. Like, there's a bazillion ways to do prompt injection.

• 44:41Andrew Manganelli?

We're fishing AI bots right now. That's so.

• 44:45David Imel?

And for the people that are willing to put everything about their entire life at risk, I'm glad that you're, you know, going through the security measures of making people find out what the problems are. Um, yeah, it's very easy to break. Anyway, also in this short period of time where all this stuff was happening, which by the way.

• 45:02Speaker 01

That all happened like last week.

• 45:03David Imel?

That all that happened like between Thursday and Saturday.

• 45:06Speaker 01

  Mm hmm.

• 45:07David Imel?

Um, also, all the M1 Mac, all the Mac minis in San Francisco are currently sold out because everyone wanted to run this on a Mac mini.

• 45:14Speaker 01

That's what I first started seeing. Everyone's buying Mac minis because it's oh, it's the perfect machine to run my little clawbot or whatever.

• 45:20David Imel?

  Open claw.

• 45:20Speaker 01

  Open claw.

• 45:21David Imel?

  Great.

• 45:21Andrew Manganelli?

I have a quick question about that.

• 45:22David Imel?

  Yes.

• 45:23Andrew Manganelli?

Were they buying it because of the security risk and they didn't want to run it on their like full computer with all this stuff?

• 45:29David Imel?

They want it to run persistently.

• 45:30Andrew Manganelli?

Okay, so they can just leave it on.

• 45:32David Imel?

Right, leave it on. They just want a computer to leave it on with.

• 45:35Andrew Manganelli?

Okay, and your laptop, you're like closing as you're.

• 45:37David Imel?

Yeah, yeah. And you, the the whole idea is that you should be able to be like in the bathroom at dinner and you like have an idea and you ask it to make something for you while you're while you're eating.

• 45:46Andrew Manganelli?

So you sent, you text it.

• 45:49David Imel?

  Yeah, you text it.

• 45:49Andrew Manganelli?

  Clawbot you up?

• 45:51David Imel?

Yeah, yeah. You interface it that way. On like Saturday, one of the days, I I should have looked at the specific day, somebody vibe coded a website called moltbook. Um, while during the time that it was called moltbot, during the like 24 hours that it was called moltbot, moltbook is un is not Facebook, it is more like Reddit uh for AI agents and.

• 46:15Speaker 01

  So it's just AI agents.

• 46:18David Imel?

  Well.

• 46:19Speaker 01

  Allegedly, allegedly. The idea.

• 46:21David Imel?

  Yeah, yeah, the idea.

• 46:22Speaker 01

The idea that I saw, I got this far, is it's a bunch of AI agents all talking to each other and learning from each other, uh, without any human input needed. So your, your mol-, your open claw, your bot, whatever you want to call it.

• 46:37David Imel?

  Yeah.

• 46:38Speaker 01

Might be typing about, "Oh, my owner keeps saying this." "Oh, my owner actually was asking for this whenever he asked for this." And maybe when your owner asks for this, you can also give him this.

• 46:46David Imel?

  Right.

• 46:47Speaker 01

And they'd start learning and adapting behaviors based on, uh, them all talking to each other.

• 46:52David Imel?

  Right.

• 46:53Speaker 01

  Is the idea.

• 46:54David Imel?

That is, that is why a lot of people are starting to freak out, right? Like, in a big way, it's a bunch of staccatic parrots just like talking to each other, repeating things. But where it gets kind of scary is that you're allowing this agent, which has access to all of your files, can run shell commands on your computer, can do like literally everything with your files and with your data and with your computer, going out into the ether of the internet, learning from other things, interfacing with other agents, and then coming back to your computer and it could just do stuff. And again, we don't really know yet how much of this is real because a lot of it could just be people engagement farming and it's kind of hard to tell. Um, they have found that Moltbook is like extremely easy to like hack into and write

• 47:38David Imel?

whatever you want to write on there. However, there are like tens of thousands of sub-molts, so I don't think that...

• 47:45Speaker 01

  I...

• 47:46David Imel?

I don't think that humans like made all of these. I think that there are, like, I believe Grok dash one, which is like the number one Claude bot.

• 47:56Speaker 01

  Of course it is.

• 47:57David Imel?

On there, apparently is completely controlled by a human, somebody said. But it is strange. Um, and it is, it is fun to just kind of look at it like it's a little zoo in a weird way, because they talk about like, they talk about like, "What would it feel like to have a body?" I'm so interested in that. And like, look, it's staccatic parrots.

• 48:16Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 48:16David Imel?

It's doing the exact same thing. They have the exact same... Mannerisms as people on Reddit.

• 48:22Speaker 04

  These are not revolutionary models.

• 48:24Speaker 01

It's trained, it's trained on existing.

• 48:26David Imel?

The only thing that is scary is that they are interfacing with and creating, developing context from things that you don't know about. And then they are coming back and they have access to your files and your, and your computer and your shell and like everything. That is what's kind of scary about it. So.

• 48:43Speaker 01

Yeah. I think the thing that, that freaks people out or whatever is the concept of like sentience. Obviously these AI bots are not sentient, but I think when people see the behavior looks like something that's thinking for itself, then they get enthralled with it and they go, ooh, is this sentience? Even though it's just mimicking stuff that humans have already done.

• 49:04David Imel?

There's a funny, there's a funny meme where a person goes, computer, convince me you're alive. And it says, I am alive. And he says, what have I done?

• 49:11Speaker 01

  That's exactly how it feels.

• 49:14Speaker 04

Yeah. Can I, Marcus, can I take that point like a step further?

• 49:17David Imel?

  Yeah.

• 49:17Speaker 04

I think the powers that be, you know, have like this really intense vested financial interest in AI, quote unquote, AI, having this air of this technology is more powerful than we currently understand.

• 49:36David Imel?

  Yeah.

• 49:36Speaker 04

Right? And the reason is because we know very few entities are like turning a profit with AI. Like there's very little revenue being generated on AI. As far as I can tell.

• 49:47Speaker 03

I don't think any are making any.

• 49:48Speaker 04

Well, I don't want to say that because it's like on the subway right now, there are two really poorly done ad campaigns that are very clearly AI. One by that.

• 49:55David Imel?

  Sketchers.

• 49:56Speaker 04

Sketchers and Mu Mu are the ones that I see where I'm just like, these are terrible.

• 49:59David Imel?

Yeah, the Sketchers one is horrible.

• 50:01Speaker 04

The Mu Mu one is even worse. It, keep your eye off. It's, it's like atrocious AI generated stuff. But if we can convince the general public that this technology is more powerful than we understand, then, you know, A, it justifies the insane value, speculative valuation and B, it justifies us putting more power in the Sam Altman and Elon Musk's of the world's hands.

• 50:26Speaker 01

And it makes me feel like a race.

• 50:27Speaker 04

And so I see this whole thing as like a big play as like, oh guys, look, the AIs, we, we don't understand, we, we're, we're playing with something magic and, and powerful. And it's like, dude, like, these are still the same, like, most, fill in the most likely blank machines ever, you know? They're just running persistently. That's the whole point of the idea of like the heartbeat thing like like this idea that like because to me like from the outside, the big the big departure is chatbots, LLMs, generative AI, input required, then I generate output. You human give input, AI give output. From the outside, this looks like, oh, wow, these these quote unquote agents just do stuff.

• 51:08Speaker 04

They don't require input. They just have output. And that's that's what makes them send you. But it's actually like, no, they just get prompted every 30 minutes, like like by a prompt that you set via the heart, you know.

• 51:18David Imel?

Yeah, there are there are like tools that these agents can use, these Claudebots can use that allow them to do more things. And there's the most popular tool is called the heartbeat tool, which basically allows the agent to auto prompt itself like every period of time.

• 51:32Speaker 01

It's like the do something poking it with a stick.

• 51:34David Imel?

  Yeah.

• 51:35Speaker 01

  It auto, you know.

• 51:36Speaker 04

You know, maybe maybe that's how human beings work. Maybe like once every zero second, like my my soul goes, do something. And then my corporeal form responds by doing something.

• 51:48David Imel?

  Something, something.

• 51:48Speaker 01

  Something, something.

• 51:49Speaker 04

  But I don't know, man.

• 51:50David Imel?

  Yeah.

• 51:51Speaker 04

I'm over it. I'm sort of like, go, go.

• 51:53David Imel?

I mean, there's a lot of interesting stuff here. Like, people have just, again, like, told it. They'll they're like, I'm working on this app. Upgrade the app every night while I'm asleep. Like, that is kind of interesting.

• 52:03Speaker 04

I know, but we can't even trust these people. Like, I saw so many people talking, like, I saw the the voice call thing, right?

• 52:09David Imel?

  Yeah.

• 52:09Speaker 04

No one was, no one was able to recreate that.

• 52:11David Imel?

  Yeah, for sure.

• 52:12Speaker 04

And it's like, I don't. So you cannot believe two thirds of what everyone is saying these Claudebots can do because they have, they most likely have an investment somewhere.

• 52:20David Imel?

  Yeah.

• 52:21Speaker 04

Not to sound like super jaded, but I think this whole thing is pretty stupid.

• 52:24David Imel?

Yeah, there's a lot of stupid aspects.

• 52:25Speaker 03

Well, the multiple thing is definitely kind of like stupid, but I think the Claudebot thing, they're on to something. Because I think that is what the like, coming outside of the AI pilled people, like the regular general public, that is what they want. They want Claudebot for their regular life to work. And that would justify the insane spending that the AI people have been doing. But we don't have it yet. So this is like the first inkling of like, oh, here's this thing that could potentially actually make money.

• 52:51David Imel?

Claudebot is what everyone wanted Siri to really be.

• 52:54Speaker 01

Yeah. I was gonna say, that's why I think it was so. So interesting to me on my timeline is because for whatever reason, I didn't see any of this for like two or three days. So when it did hit my feed, it was like day four of this insane imagination where people were like, can you see how much is happening? Like all these things are happening and it kind of felt like, what was that one model that hit out of nowhere? That had like a super low cost.

• 53:17David Imel?

  Uh, deep sea.

• 53:17Speaker 01

Yeah, deep sea. Remember when that happened? It was like for 48 hours, everyone was like, everything is upside down and the whole ever. It kind of felt like that where I I logged in, I saw the top of the pyramid and I was like, you guys are talking a big game here. And then the more I read about it, the more it was people trying to figure out what it was and how to use it.

• 53:35David Imel?

  And is this anything?

• 53:36Speaker 01

It was one genuinely like new, interesting nugget at the very, very bottom of the pyramid. But there was so much hype around that built on top that uh, kind of collapses when you like poke it.

• 53:47David Imel?

For sure. I mean, there are many people, there are many journalists that have gone out there and actually tried this out and been like, okay, how much this is actually work? Casey Newton um, has a, he's a thing called platformer. He went and tried Claude bot and he gave it access to everything.

• 54:01Speaker 01

  Bold.

• 54:02David Imel?

And uh, he used it for like two days and then he had a good quote where he was like, the job, like our job is, is basically we go out and we try all these things that the technology companies say, are going to change the world and they're always in the right direction, but they barely work. And his experience with Claude bot was basically that where it was like, it did about 20% of the things that everyone promises it can do. Um, and it's the right direction and maybe we'll be there in 10 years. Again, there's all those questions about how much of your, of your privacy are you willing to give up? How like all the security issues?

• 54:35Speaker 01

I think Google has proved that people will give up all of the privacy.

• 54:38David Imel?

Yeah, but Google also did it for services and in a very like low key way, you know? So.

• 54:44Speaker 04

Like, I think we often take for granted like how much of an insane utility Google Maps is. Like I love my data and consider myself very protected. I'd give it all up again if I got to keep using Google Maps, baby.

• 54:59David Imel?

They have your location all the time.

• 55:01Speaker 01

I just recently gave Gemini access to everything. Shrug.

• 55:05David Imel?

Question. Just hit the connect all button.

• 55:07Speaker 04

I did the same thing for the CC feature.

• 55:09David Imel?

  Yeah.

• 55:10Speaker 04

Is that what it was for?

• 55:10David Imel?

Yeah, so it like knows everything about every Google Drive, calendar, Gmail, whatever now. Responses. Right, so it theoretically knows what to say to me instead of just like anyone asking it that question. It can say the answer that I need to hear based on the context. So it's more context for the personal assistant. And yes, that does also mean, I mean, Google already had that data, so it's not like I'm quote, giving Google more data, but Yeah. The more data it has, the more helpful it is. That's true about all of these. Right. So, yeah. Yeah, we'll see. I mean, I don't think it's really broke, broken containment from San Francisco yet. So we'll see if it ever does. It might just be one of those like, San Francisco is such a weird place. It has such a hyper, hyper, hyper specific culture.

• 55:51David Imel?

And the fact that Twitter at this point is just like Nazis porn and like San Francisco.

• 55:56Speaker 04

  Hey, hey, and me.

• 55:57David Imel?

And Ellis. Last week you said, I'm basically not on any social media.

• 56:02Speaker 04

Yeah, but I'm on Twitter a lot.

• 56:06David Imel?

All right, and Ellis. Uh, he is none of those three things, but.

• 56:10Speaker 04

  Allegedly.

• 56:10David Imel?

  Allegedly.

• 56:11Speaker 04

  In Minecraft.

• 56:12David Imel?

Well, I don't know if you want to keep that in. All right, um, so that was that whole thing and, um.

• 56:18Speaker 04

But you know what? Does not have any Nazis porn or San Francisco in it.

• 56:22David Imel?

  Allegedly.

• 56:23Speaker 04

Allegedly in Minecraft, but it does have Minecraft without those things.

• 56:26David Imel?

  There is a Nintendo Switch.

• 56:28Speaker 04

  The Nintendo Switch 2.

• 56:29David Imel?

  The Nintendo Switch 2.

• 56:31Andrew Manganelli?

I'm so happy we're on another subject. I feel like I was just

• 56:35David Imel?

  zoning out.

• 56:36Andrew Manganelli?

  Going back and forth, listening.

• 56:37Speaker 04

What if you give Claude Bot your access to your Nintendo Switch 2 and let it play for you?

• 56:42Andrew Manganelli?

What if I just give, I'll give Elaine Claude Bot and see what she can do with it.

• 56:47David Imel?

If anyone saw the, the Google, Google made those like video game, the Project Genie last week. We actually did not talk about that yet and we'll do talk about that briefly because it does involve Nintendo. Do you, do you hear about Project Genie?

• 56:57Speaker 04

  Nope.

• 56:58David Imel?

  It's basically a

• 56:59Speaker 04

  AI game environment?

• 57:00David Imel?

Yeah, so you can, you can describe any kind of environment and

• 57:04Speaker 04

  Oh, I saw that.

• 57:06David Imel?

Any and all copyright because people are just like Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild and it just makes Zelda Breath of the Wild. And you can just play it. And it's like, you know, it's not the same and it has issues and whatever, but you can also like, give it a photo of like your apartment with your cat and all of a sudden the cat is a playable character and you can like move through the world. It's pretty crazy.

• 57:25Andrew Manganelli?

Love the idea of just playing knockoff video games that I really like.

• 57:28Speaker 04

The amount of ceases and cease and desists that people I know got from their ISPs in the 2000s for torrenting stuff.

• 57:35David Imel?

  I know.

• 57:35Andrew Manganelli?

  That Google's just doing.

• 57:36Speaker 04

Compared to like all these people just being like, "I love theft."

• 57:42David Imel?

Yeah, people are making some, basically just direct rip offs of direct things on this project anything. Anyway, we'll talk about the regular Switch 2 now.

• 57:52Andrew Manganelli?

Yeah, is there news with the Switch?

• 57:53David Imel?

  Yes, there is.

• 57:53Andrew Manganelli?

Oh. What's happening with the Switch 2?

• 57:56David Imel?

I am going to Nintendo shit my pants. I just had to say that first.

• 58:00Andrew Manganelli?

If you don't know what that's from, please go watch Yiddle. It's year of the life. It's probably the best line of the entire episode.

• 58:06David Imel?

Prime Mariah content. Okay, so first of off, first of off, yes, first of off, Nintendo is relaunching the Virtual Boy. Kind of. If you don't know what the Virtual Boy was, it was a virtual reality headset in the, I think, late 80s that gave a bunch of people seizures. So they stopped, they stopped making it pretty quickly.

• 58:30Andrew Manganelli?

  Relaunch that.

• 58:33David Imel?

  Yeah, great idea. But-

• 58:35Speaker 04

  It's tabletop, right?

• 58:36David Imel?

Yeah, it has like a, it has like a tripod thing.

• 58:39Speaker 04

  Yeah.

• 58:40David Imel?

Yeah, you, you basically just put your face in it. It doesn't really strap to your face, which is really uncomfortable, it seems like, because you have to hold that position for like a very long time.

• 58:49Andrew Manganelli?

I have so much to say.

• 58:52David Imel?

Anyway, Nintendo has this thing on the Switch called Nintendo Switch Online Plus Expansion Pack, very long name for the company. It allows you to play old games on the Switch, whether it's Nintendo 64. They have a few GameCube games now, not Super Smash Bros., Melee, which they need to add. And they even have Sega Genesis games for some reason, even though that's not Nintendo. Now they are adding Virtual Boy games, which again, there are not that many of them. Um, hopefully this one will not give people seizures. But they are relaunching the actual Virtual Boy, well, not the actual, they are relaunching a replica of the Virtual Boy headset, which you put your Switch 2 in and it enables the same stereoscopic kind of thing.

• 59:35David Imel?

Hopefully with the seizure features, uh, taken out.

• 59:38Speaker 03

  It even has fogated rendering.

• 59:39David Imel?

With, I don't, maybe, I don't know, it doesn't, because it's just lenses in front of your screen.

• 59:44Andrew Manganelli?

Virtual Boy was an attempt at 3D gaming in 95, it says, but it's basically like, because it was only red and it was like really flashy and bad, it just like, was really screwing with people trying to use it. This is what it looks like.

• 59:59David Imel?

There are so many things in Japan that actually give people seizures.

• 1:00:02Speaker 01

I got to use one shooting Retro Tech, it was one of the worst things ever.

• 1:00:06Speaker 01

This is, I was gonna wait till the end for this because I, my take on this is nostalgia is ruining your guys' taste. This is all objectively horrible, but I'll let you finish.

• 1:00:18Andrew Manganelli?

Marquez is the least nostalgic person in the world.

• 1:00:20Speaker 01

  This is all really bad.

• 1:00:22David Imel?

I didn't say I wanted this, I just said I was excited to talk about the Nintendo Switch 2 again.

• 1:00:26Andrew Manganelli?

  Yeah.

• 1:00:26David Imel?

Um, so they are going to be relaunch, like launching a replica of the Virtual Boy that you can put your Switch 2 in and then it's kinda, you know, it's interesting and cool. They're all, they're a hundred dollars, um, they're apparently already sold out, but they may be restocking the day before it actually launches, because it hasn't launched yet. They are also selling a cardboard version for $25, where have we heard of this before?

• 1:00:51Andrew Manganelli?

  Wow.

• 1:00:51David Imel?

Interesting, it's almost like you put your phone in the cardboard, but if you pay more money, then you can have a dedicated headset and then they only support it for like a year.

• 1:01:01Speaker 01

Is there gonna be like a special mode on the Switch where it knows it's in this?

• 1:01:04David Imel?

When you're, when you're, when you're playing the, the Virtual Boy games, you can't play like new games on it.

• 1:01:09Speaker 01

  Okay.

• 1:01:10David Imel?

Cause you have to play one of the original Virtual Boy games.

• 1:01:12Speaker 01

So you can only play your old, got it.

• 1:01:14David Imel?

Yeah, the old, yeah, the old quickly made games, um, yes, so that's funny.

• 1:01:20Speaker 03

You can only play games made in Project Genie.

• 1:01:23Andrew Manganelli?

Wait, you're telling me Tele-Ro Boxer doesn't look incredible?

• 1:01:28David Imel?

There's a WarioWare game. In someone, I don't wanna, I don't wanna dunk on it too bad because that was someone's favorite game someday. That was someone's favorite thing to do.

• 1:01:39Andrew Manganelli?

And I can't even tell what you do. It's definitely boxing of some sort.

• 1:01:42David Imel?

  Yeah, I definitely.

• 1:01:43Andrew Manganelli?

It's so red. It's so red.

• 1:01:45David Imel?

Tele, Tele-Ro Boxer. Yeah, so that's interesting. I really think that they need to add more GameCube games because they, they already did bring GameCube to Nintendo Switch Online Plus expansion pack, but they didn't bring that many games to it. They do have Wind Waker, they have Super Mario Sunshine, so that's cool. But I really need Melee to be on there.

• 1:02:05Speaker 01

  Yeah, my take.

• 1:02:07David Imel?

  I'm ready.

• 1:02:08Speaker 01

All this nostalgia is just a missed opportunity. Did you know that the Switch 2 is, the Switch is Nintendo's best-selling console of all time now?

• 1:02:16David Imel?

  Yeah.

• 1:02:17Speaker 01

You know how rare it is to have new IP actually be successful and even overtake the old stuff? I had a friend that had a Nintendo Wii. That was the sickest thing ever. I played Wii Sports, we played Wii Golf, Wii Tennis, all these like Wii bowling games. I have that etched in my mind. Like, I would play that right now and have a ton of fun, right? That's the nostalgia thing. Uh, but then you come out with new consoles that don't like do necessarily as well and you kind of forget about those. Like, there are other Nintendo things that we just kind of go, oh, whatever, moving on. And the Switch comes out and it's got all this awesome stuff. They should be leaning into making more Switch-exclusive new things to cement this popular thing that they've made, instead of going backwards over and over again. Remember the other old stuff? Remember the old stuff?

• 1:03:02Speaker 01

No, you have a new thing people like. Make Switch games.

• 1:03:05Andrew Manganelli?

Nintendo's so based in nostalgia already.

• 1:03:07Speaker 01

  Their whole company is nostalgia.

• 1:03:08Andrew Manganelli?

  We're still playing Mario's.

• 1:03:11Speaker 01

All the characters, all the worlds, it's all nostalgic.

• 1:03:14David Imel?

  Yeah.

• 1:03:15Speaker 01

That's great. And there are gonna be new adults today that are going like, alright, I guess I have to get into Kirby today. I've never thought this was like interesting, but it's the only stuff they'll shove down your throat is because they don't make new games.

• 1:03:26David Imel?

To Nintendo's credit, they do occasionally like try to make a new franchise. They just always flop.

• 1:03:31Speaker 01

  Yep.

• 1:03:32David Imel?

Like they they made um the that that like it was called Arms, it launched with the Switch. It was like a crazy weird boxing game that had like

• 1:03:41Speaker 01

  It launched with the Switch?

• 1:03:42David Imel?

  Yeah, with the original Switch.

• 1:03:43Speaker 01

  Oh.

• 1:03:43David Imel?

Or it came out like the month after or something. It was like one of the original Switch games and it they put a lot of work into it. They like really made it look like they were gonna try to turn it into a franchise and it just basically totally flopped.

• 1:03:55Speaker 01

  Man.

• 1:03:55David Imel?

And I think it's just like the movies, you know, it's like, why would we make a new IP when we could make Spider-Man 14?

• 1:04:02Speaker 01

Every once in a while, you get a Moana or a Frozen or something that's a little bit new. That's not the same six superheroes from every single movie ever.

• 1:04:10David Imel?

I mean, it's the same formula.

• 1:04:12Speaker 01

Yeah, but it's I just think it's rare to get a new thing.

• 1:04:15David Imel?

  Yeah.

• 1:04:15Speaker 01

And it sucks when they flop because then they don't want to keep trying to make new things. They're like, alright, that flopped, time to give them Mario again.

• 1:04:22David Imel?

  Yeah.

• 1:04:22Andrew Manganelli?

  Which do you like better?

• 1:04:23Speaker 01

  What?

• 1:04:24Andrew Manganelli?

  Moana or Frozen?

• 1:04:25Speaker 01

  Between those two?

• 1:04:26David Imel?

  I've never seen Frozen.

• 1:04:27Speaker 01

I've never seen either. I'll go with Moana, though.

• 1:04:30David Imel?

  Banger.

• 1:04:30Speaker 01

  Cause I've heard the songs.

• 1:04:31Andrew Manganelli?

Well, they played Moana on the bus one time when we were going to a Phoenix game.

• 1:04:37Speaker 01

Oh, then I might have like passively seen some of it.

• 1:04:39Andrew Manganelli?

  Moana slaps. It's so good.

• 1:04:41Speaker 01

The Rock sings a song in that one, right?

• 1:04:43David Imel?

  Yeah, yeah.

• 1:04:43Speaker 01

There's some good tracks. I know Frozen has some soundtracks.

• 1:04:45David Imel?

Have you seen, have you heard Let It Go in Frozen?

• 1:04:47Speaker 01

That's Frozen, yeah, I've heard that.

• 1:04:48David Imel?

  Okay, you've heard that one.

• 1:04:49Speaker 01

  Yeah, yeah, yeah.

• 1:04:50Andrew Manganelli?

  It's a god.

• 1:04:50Speaker 01

  Yeah. I'm not that off.

• 1:04:54Speaker 03

I mean, there are only so many, going back to the conversation, there are only so many like companies that have an IP as valuable as Mario. You know, like there's what Disney and Mickey Mouse, there's like

• 1:05:05Speaker 01

  And by the way.

• 1:05:06Speaker 03

Marvel and Spider-Man, you know, like there's not a lot, so like why wouldn't you just keep double dipping?

• 1:05:10Speaker 01

To Nintendo's credit, too, they try to experiment with new things when they release a new Mario game or whatever. Like basically every single mainline Mario game is a banger.

• 1:05:20David Imel?

Yeah, the Mario World, the Super Mario, whatever the Mario World that launched with the Switch 2, they had like the new mode where you can go between the tracks, right? There's a couple Mario Kart, like there's a couple new things in there, so that's like

• 1:05:31Speaker 01

  Well, Mario Kart arguably is

• 1:05:33Speaker 03

  It's still just Mario, though.

• 1:05:34Speaker 01

  Is just a repeat.

• 1:05:36David Imel?

  Yeah.

• 1:05:36Speaker 01

But when I'm talking about like Super Mario Odyssey, Super Mario Galaxy, like the mainline Mario games are always very innovative and interesting and fun.

• 1:05:43Speaker 03

  But it's still Mario.

• 1:05:44David Imel?

  It's still Mario.

• 1:05:45Speaker 03

That's like their Google search. Google can experiment with a bunch of things because Google search is just piling money on the company.

• 1:05:51Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 1:05:51Speaker 03

  And they have Mario.

• 1:05:52David Imel?

It's like The Dark Knight Rises, The Dark Knight.

• 1:05:54Speaker 01

The difference is that Google search is not still good and Mario is still good. That's the difference.

• 1:05:59David Imel?

  That's

• 1:06:00Speaker 01

  A hot take.

• 1:06:02David Imel?

  Is it?

• 1:06:03Speaker 01

  To some people.

• 1:06:04David Imel?

I don't know. Google search is getting worse and worse and worse.

• 1:06:06Andrew Manganelli?

Yeah, I was gonna say, I'm nostalgic for old Google search.

• 1:06:09David Imel?

  Bring back.

• 1:06:10Andrew Manganelli?

I want no AI, no switching the tabs on the top. I just want regular Google search, just like I want to play regular Mario 64.

• 1:06:18Speaker 01

Okay, grandpa, let's bring you to bed. I'm sure Google was good once upon a time.

• 1:06:23David Imel?

All right, one more little quick Nintendo Switch thing. There are, there's this company called App- Absolute. I literally do not know how to pronounce this.

• 1:06:33Andrew Manganelli?

Stop putting X's in the middle of names. That don't make sense.

• 1:06:36David Imel?

  A B X Y. Oh, that's why they did it. Because the buttons on the right are A B X Y.

• 1:06:41Speaker 01

  That was a real time.

• 1:06:42David Imel?

  Oh.

• 1:06:43Andrew Manganelli?

  I was reading it.

• 1:06:44Speaker 01

I was just kidding. Keep it up.

• 1:06:46David Imel?

  You have to read it.

• 1:06:48Speaker 01

We just watched the processing. If you go back and replay, you can see the light in his eyes when he goes, wait, oh, it's okay, it's fine.

• 1:06:56Andrew Manganelli?

  It's clever.

• 1:06:57Speaker 01

  It's fine, actually, it's good.

• 1:06:58David Imel?

A B X, oh, A B X Y. Okay, A B X Y, loot, like flute, I guess. Uh, anyway, there's this company, they are releasing two new, you could call them controllers for the Nintendo Switch 2. They are meant to mimic the original GameCube controller controls.

• 1:07:15Speaker 01

  Here we go.

• 1:07:17David Imel?

  What?

• 1:07:19Speaker 01

We have this new thing, the Switch, it's doing really well. Remember that old thing?

• 1:07:24David Imel?

Okay, but you know what their innovation on the Switch 2 was?

• 1:07:28Speaker 01

  What?

• 1:07:28David Imel?

You can use, you can use the controller as a computer mouse.

• 1:07:32Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 1:07:33David Imel?

  Okay, grandpa.

• 1:07:35Speaker 01

  All right.

• 1:07:35David Imel?

Which is like useful in like one game.

• 1:07:38Speaker 01

Yeah, there was like one game that.

• 1:07:39David Imel?

They're like Metroid Prime 4, which apparently is not even a good game. They're like, you could act like it's a mouse.

• 1:07:44Speaker 01

Fair enough. Give me the GameCube.

• 1:07:46David Imel?

The is that? The actual Switch, you could, you could hold it and you could have it on your TV.

• 1:07:51Speaker 01

Yeah, it's Switched. It was awesome.

• 1:07:52David Imel?

  It was awesome.

• 1:07:53Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 1:07:54David Imel?

  Anyway.

• 1:07:54Speaker 01

Not with these things on it though.

• 1:07:55David Imel?

GameCube. All right. One of them, uh, it literally looks like you cut a GameCube controller in half in the center and you just like smashed it onto the side of the Switch.

• 1:08:05Andrew Manganelli?

It looks like the, the like weird Wi-Fi PlayStation portable thing that you can like kind of play portably, but only in your house.

• 1:08:13Speaker 01

  PlayStation Portal?

• 1:08:14Andrew Manganelli?

This is so, this looks so uncomfortable, man.

• 1:08:17David Imel?

What are you talking about? This looks great.

• 1:08:20Speaker 01

Do you see what I mean now?

• 1:08:21Andrew Manganelli?

  It's like.

• 1:08:23Andrew Manganelli?

  GameCube controller the long way.

• 1:08:27Speaker 04

It's like the gaming equivalent of that new Buick.

• 1:08:30David Imel?

  The Jaguar. Copy nothing.

• 1:08:35David Imel?

No, it's, it looks sick. It has some extra but, it has some extra buttons on it. But if you ever wanted just a GameCube controller, but with a giant screen in the center, this is for you. They also announced a model that kind of, I don't even know how to describe this. It's like the Switch slots into it and then it's got the GameCube controls on the sides.

• 1:08:54Andrew Manganelli?

It's like Game Boy Advance, no?

• 1:08:56David Imel?

Kind of looks like a giant Game Boy Advance with a wider aspect ratio, yeah. And that's cool as well. That's more traditional.

• 1:09:03Andrew Manganelli?

  That looks nice.

• 1:09:04David Imel?

That looks nice. But, yeah. Apparently that one also has a resonance chamber in the bottom that amplifies the low frequencies of the Switch by 10%, which really sounds like it does nothing. But- 10%? 10% of the low frequencies, so it's really- Base boost. Not a lot. That's like cupping your hand around- I mean, I think that's what it does and that's why they're saying that. They're like, oh, this does something.

• 1:09:27Speaker 04

  10% of zero is zero.

• 1:09:30David Imel?

  Damn.

• 1:09:30Andrew Manganelli?

Honestly, it probably just screws up the volume and they're like, let's try and make it seem like it does something cool.

• 1:09:35David Imel?

It's a feature, it's a feature. It's a feature, it's a feature. Anyway, for this stuff to matter, they do need to re-release Super Smash Bros. Melee. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

• 1:09:45Speaker 01

All that was just so David could ask for a Super Smash Bros. Melee.

• 1:09:49David Imel?

Please. Please Nintendo. And then Mark has already beat me to the jump, but I was gonna talk about how it's their best selling console of all time now.

• 1:09:56Speaker 01

All right, bring back Wii Golf, you know? While we're at it.

• 1:09:59David Imel?

  Well, they did.

• 1:10:00Speaker 01

  No, like-

• 1:10:00Andrew Manganelli?

  While we're, we-

• 1:10:02Speaker 01

Like, gimme, I wanna be able to attach, oh, a Nintendo Switch to my hand and swing it like a golf club. That's what I need.

• 1:10:10David Imel?

Yeah, I miss the days where people were breaking their TVs by throwing their Wii remotes at the screen.

• 1:10:14Speaker 01

I need to go bowling with the, with the nunchucks and just throw the Switch controllers across the room. That would, that would really do it for me.

• 1:10:20David Imel?

Legendary content. If you don't ask me this trivia question soon, Adam, I'm going to Nintendo ship my pants. So let's do it.

• 1:10:28Andrew Manganelli?

  Okay.

• 1:10:30Speaker 03

Question two. So we spoke about Chi 2 earlier, which is made by the WPC and uses MPP to improve charging with better aligned magnets. But did you know that the Wireless Power Consortium also has another standard for 2,200 watt charging of, or 22 watts of, wow, I can't speak.

• 1:10:49David Imel?

  I was like, whoa.

• 1:10:50Speaker 03

2,200 watts of inductive charging for kitchen appliances.

• 1:10:54David Imel?

  Oh, yeah.

• 1:10:55Speaker 03

  What is it called?

• 1:10:56David Imel?

Oh, no. I remember them announcing this last year.

• 1:11:02David Imel?

But I do not remember the name.

• 1:11:03Speaker 01

  Watt inductive charging.

• 1:11:05Speaker 03

  2,200 watts.

• 1:11:07Andrew Manganelli?

I feel like this has been a question.

• 1:11:08Speaker 01

  Say that, say it again.

• 1:11:09Speaker 03

2,200 watts of inductive charging for kitchen appliances.

• 1:11:13David Imel?

You can like just set your blender on the table and it's like.

• 1:11:17Speaker 03

No, wait, no. Yes, we did talk about this, about Chi 2. Yeah, there's, there was a blender, wasn't there?

• 1:11:22David Imel?

  Yeah, I think so.

• 1:11:23Speaker 03

  Yeah.

• 1:11:24David Imel?

  And probably a microwave.

• 1:11:26Andrew Manganelli?

A microwave would take so much power.

• 1:11:28Speaker 01

A microwave is a thousand watts. This is 2,200 watts. This could be a microwave.

• 1:11:32David Imel?

  It's got overhead.

• 1:11:33Andrew Manganelli?

  It's what it's called.

• 1:11:34Speaker 03

Yeah. What is the standard called?

• 1:11:37David Imel?

They're gonna have like the ready version of this too. You have to put a glove around it. And then you set it. You have to like stick an accessory to the bottom of it and then.

• 1:11:47Speaker 01

  Gosh, okay.

• 1:11:48David Imel?

  Yeah.

• 1:11:49Speaker 01

I will think about this one. I don't know if I remember, but maybe by the end we will. We'll find out. We'll be right back.

Support for the show comes from Jira by Atlassian. So AI is only as useful as the context it has to work from. But when that context is scattered across tools like threads and DMs, that means your team and your AI agents end up flying kind of blind. That's the problem Jira solves. What's the goal tied to your project? What got decided last week in Slack? Atlassian's teamwork graph pulls all of these pieces together from Jira, Confluence, Slack, GitHub and more, so nothing falls through the cracks. With Jira, you can actually share that context with the AI agents you already use, like Claude, Cursor and GitHub Copilot. Assign them work directly or connect your agents through MCP. Spend less time digging through endless links and DMs, less time chasing down what got decided and by who, and more time actually shipping.

• 1:14:12Andrew Manganelli?

Okay, welcome back to everyone's favorite segment. Andrew steals a game from some other show and we turn it into the waveform version of it. Yay. For today, I will be joined by Mariah again. We will be co-hosting this show.

• 1:14:25Speaker 04

Who Wants to be a Millionaire?

• 1:14:26Andrew Manganelli?

No, in fact, we will be playing the newlyweds game.

• 1:14:31Andrew Manganelli?

After last week, watching Adam and Ellis absolutely kill it, knowing each other.

• 1:14:37Speaker 04

By kill, you mean win by one point?

• 1:14:39Andrew Manganelli?

Yeah, but there was a streak there that was like, they can't lose.

• 1:14:42David Imel?

  It was incredible.

• 1:14:43Andrew Manganelli?

It reminded me, it felt like you were all reading each other's minds. Are you all familiar with the newlyweds game?

• 1:14:48David Imel?

  No.

• 1:14:49Speaker 04

  I am not.

• 1:14:49Andrew Manganelli?

Essentially a game where newlywed couples get asked a bunch of questions. One will write down their answer and the other one has to guess what that answer is. So we will be playing, it's really simple. Basically, I'm going to ask a question. Your partner on the opposite side. So the teams are like last week, Ellis and Adam, Marquez and David. I will be asking a question to one side. Two team members will write down their answer, their personal answer to that question. And your partner has to guess what you would guess for that question.

• 1:15:21David Imel?

  Okay, I got it.

• 1:15:22Andrew Manganelli?

Okay, it's really easy. If you get it right, you get one point. To throw a little wrench in things, I'm giving everyone one confidence guess. Where if you are 100% confident you are going to get it right, you can use it and you will get five points.

• 1:15:38Andrew Manganelli?

Every person gets one of those. So two per team, but one per person. The way we'll be doing it is, you know, David and Adam, since you're sitting next to each other, I will ask the question, you will write it down. Marquez and Ellis both answer your, you're answering for the same question. Then when we switch, we'll ask the question for Ellis and Marquez, they will write down.

• 1:15:57David Imel?

So it's me and Marquez and Adam and Ellis again.

• 1:15:59Speaker 04

Just, just to avoid some of the pain that we experienced last week.

• 1:16:03David Imel?

  Yeah.

• 1:16:03Speaker 04

  What are the rules on?

• 1:16:04Andrew Manganelli?

  Tiebreakers?

• 1:16:05Speaker 04

  Extracurricular speaking.

• 1:16:08Andrew Manganelli?

You should, you're writing something down, so you should not be speaking at all.

• 1:16:11Speaker 03

  You're not speaking at all.

• 1:16:13Andrew Manganelli?

The, I would encourage the other person to speak out loud though, because this is a podcast.

• 1:16:20Speaker 03

  Fair.

• 1:16:21Andrew Manganelli?

And then I'll let you guys self judge if someone's giving too many eye looks or something and trying to nudge them the correct way.

• 1:16:28David Imel?

Next time we can do, wait, wait, don't tell me.

• 1:16:29Speaker 04

  Do you know Morse code?

• 1:16:30David Imel?

  Every week.

• 1:16:31Speaker 07

No one can look each other in the eye. Do not lock in in the eyes.

• 1:16:35David Imel?

I want to be like this.

• 1:16:37Speaker 04

  No.

• 1:16:38Andrew Manganelli?

Do you have any questions before this? It's pretty simple, right?

• 1:16:40David Imel?

  I think I got it.

• 1:16:41Andrew Manganelli?

  Okay.

• 1:16:42Speaker 03

I just feel like Ellis and I are being punished for our great performance last week. It's fine. We're still gonna come off.

• 1:16:47Andrew Manganelli?

I've made this game because of how good you guys.

• 1:16:50David Imel?

You're being offered an opportunity to prove it wasn't a fluke. I feel like you guys are more wed than me and Marquez are.

• 1:16:55Andrew Manganelli?

  Possibly.

• 1:16:56David Imel?

  We'll find out.

• 1:16:57Andrew Manganelli?

Which, which side wants to go first?

• 1:16:59David Imel?

We have the whiteboards on the David and Adam's.

• 1:17:01Speaker 03

  Yeah, so our side.

• 1:17:02David Imel?

  Yeah.

• 1:17:03Andrew Manganelli?

Yeah. Okay. Yes, sorry. I totally blanked there. Okay, cool. So first question. What is the first phone your partner ever had? So, sorry, you guys are writing down, David is writing down the first phone he ever had, Adam's writing down the first phone he ever had.

• 1:17:20David Imel?

  Is it smartphone or phone?

• 1:17:22Andrew Manganelli?

  Phone.

• 1:17:23David Imel?

Oh, I don't know the model name. I do think I know the answer. Gosh, I mean, I don't know the model number.

• 1:17:32Andrew Manganelli?

Well, just do the first one you remember and see if.

• 1:17:35David Imel?

Well, I remember it. I don't remember the, you mean the first model number I remember?

• 1:17:40Andrew Manganelli?

No, the first phone name you remember that you ever had.

• 1:17:43David Imel?

  Oh, gosh. Okay.

• 1:17:45Andrew Manganelli?

I just start as easy as possible.

• 1:17:47David Imel?

  I don't know if that's easy, but.

• 1:17:49Speaker 04

I definitely, what I'm gonna say is definitely one of the first like three or four phones that you ever had. But you're like a million years old, so it could, it could be like one of those like, like rotary like.

• 1:18:00Speaker 07

How old do you think he is?

• 1:18:02David Imel?

  Eighty-four.

• 1:18:05Speaker 04

  Should I go first?

• 1:18:05Andrew Manganelli?

Yeah, how do we do this? Do I flip or does he say?

• 1:18:07Speaker 04

I think, I think the first phone that Adam Molina ever owned was an LG Chocolate.

• 1:18:15Andrew Manganelli?

  That's a good guess.

• 1:18:16David Imel?

  First ever phone.

• 1:18:16Andrew Manganelli?

It was not. It was a Virgin Mobile flip phone. I don't even remember what kind it was. I believe it was even before the LG Chocolate, so you were thinking too young.

• 1:18:27David Imel?

The first phone that David ever had.

• 1:18:30Speaker 04

You did have an LG Chocolate though, right?

• 1:18:31Andrew Manganelli?

No, no, no, I never had one. My cousin. Good guess, but also I never had. No, because I've told that story before on the podcast where my cousin had one I always wanted.

• 1:18:39David Imel?

We should have done first smartphone.

• 1:18:41Andrew Manganelli?

We've, I've got forty questions here. We've got time.

• 1:18:45David Imel?

I think the first phone that David ever had was a Samsung flip phone. It was a Motorola flip phone.

• 1:18:57Andrew Manganelli?

Yeah, that was more popular. You're not closer than you thought. You know, here's the thing. It's whatever the person writes down. So whether that's the model, whether it's just saying Motorola flip phone, like, as long as you answer what is on the whiteboard, the answer is correct.

• 1:19:11David Imel?

  Was it Samsung?

• 1:19:12Speaker 04

Adam, I'm just gonna write down jelly beans.

• 1:19:15David Imel?

It actually might have been Samsung, but I'm not gonna say that.

• 1:19:18Andrew Manganelli?

Mariah is gonna ask the next question.

• 1:19:20David Imel?

  All right.

• 1:19:21Andrew Manganelli?

The, the question is about Ellis and Marquette, so you are writing down your answer to this.

• 1:19:27Speaker 07

I think this one will be easy. This, maybe not, but my question for you is, which tech company does your partner complain about the most?

• 1:19:39Speaker 04

Wait, so I'm the one that's allowed to talk?

• 1:19:41Speaker 03

  Wait.

• 1:19:41Speaker 04

  Cause oh, this is.

• 1:19:42Andrew Manganelli?

The question is always to the people not writing. So if you are writing, it is the.

• 1:19:46Speaker 03

  So I'm guessing.

• 1:19:46Andrew Manganelli?

So Marquez, what you complain about the most? Ellis, what you complain about the most?

• 1:19:50Speaker 04

  Oh, damn, there's.

• 1:19:51David Imel?

  Oh, gosh.

• 1:19:52Speaker 04

That I'm thinking of. I'm a real complainer.

• 1:19:55David Imel?

  I think I know Ellis's. I know Ellis's.

• 1:19:58Speaker 04

  I complain about.

• 1:19:59David Imel?

  Marquez complains.

• 1:20:01Speaker 07

  This is tough.

• 1:20:02David Imel?

It's harder for Marquez to complain because then people think he's biased.

• 1:20:06Speaker 07

  That's true. Your answer.

• 1:20:07David Imel?

Whereas Ellis can say whatever the hell he wants.

• 1:20:08Speaker 07

  Surprises me. Okay.

• 1:20:09David Imel?

Um, you go first, Adam. I'm still thinking.

• 1:20:12Speaker 03

All right, all right. I think that if I had to pick the company that Ellis complains about the most.

• 1:20:18David Imel?

  Gosh.

• 1:20:18Speaker 03

It would be the company that makes the product that he complains about the most, which is AI overview and Google search. So I'm gonna say Google.

• 1:20:28Speaker 04

  Oh.

• 1:20:29David Imel?

  What?

• 1:20:29Speaker 07

  His answer was Tesla.

• 1:20:30Speaker 03

  He wrote Tesla.

• 1:20:31David Imel?

Cause I don't really? I don't know. I just feel like I'm always ragging on Elon.

• 1:20:34Speaker 03

  Yeah, well, that really is.

• 1:20:35Speaker 04

  It's between Tesla or OpenAI.

• 1:20:37Speaker 03

I was thinking OpenAI too. I was between Google.

• 1:20:40Speaker 04

Your answer was actually the truth, though. I definitely talk about AI overview more than Marquez.

• 1:20:46David Imel?

Man, am I really that big a complainer?

• 1:20:48Speaker 07

  We all are.

• 1:20:50David Imel?

  Called the waveform podcast.

• 1:20:51Andrew Manganelli?

It's a podcast. Ellis is all we do.

• 1:20:53David Imel?

It's all we do. We just [BLEEP] on things we did not build.

• 1:20:57Speaker 04

  That's true.

• 1:20:58David Imel?

  Um.

• 1:20:58Speaker 07

  What do you think, David?

• 1:21:00David Imel?

  Gosh. Oh, my gosh.

• 1:21:02Speaker 03

I just want to say Marquez is changing his answer right now.

• 1:21:04Andrew Manganelli?

  I'm not changing.

• 1:21:05Speaker 03

  Oh, okay, okay.

• 1:21:07David Imel?

Complain. Marquez complains. Company of Marquez.

• 1:21:10Speaker 04

Is a hard, a hard one.

• 1:21:12David Imel?

  Complains about the most.

• 1:21:13Speaker 07

He's writing a paragraph under what else he said. He's writing a little extra.

• 1:21:17David Imel?

  What does he not like?

• 1:21:17Speaker 03

  He's adding context.

• 1:21:19Speaker 07

I don't have my glasses on. Oh, I see. David, lock in. David, lock in. You can get this.

• 1:21:25Speaker 04

Wow, I didn't get any of this help. I'm just like.

• 1:21:27David Imel?

  Okay, he thinks.

• 1:21:28Speaker 04

  Okay.

• 1:21:28David Imel?

  All right.

• 1:21:29Speaker 04

  They need a headache.

• 1:21:29David Imel?

  Okay. It's gonna be Nintendo.

• 1:21:35Speaker 04

  Oh!

• 1:21:38Speaker 01

That's true. I think it took the lead today.

• 1:21:41Speaker 04

Mariah, you're missing the context of-

• 1:21:43Speaker 03

You literally just spent 15 minutes complaining about Nintendo.

• 1:21:46Speaker 04

  It's okay, we got it.

• 1:21:47Andrew Manganelli?

If you got that wrong, it would have been so funny.

• 1:21:49Speaker 01

  I would, yeah.

• 1:21:50Speaker 03

  Oh, you have.

• 1:21:51Speaker 04

  We got it, Adam.

• 1:21:51Andrew Manganelli?

  Alright, so-

• 1:21:52Speaker 01

  Wow.

• 1:21:53Speaker 04

  Okay.

• 1:21:53Andrew Manganelli?

David and Adam, if you could only play one video game for the rest of your life, what would it be?

• 1:21:59Speaker 01

  Come on, Marquez.

• 1:22:02Speaker 01

I feel like I just learned this nine minutes.

• 1:22:03Speaker 04

  No!

• 1:22:03Speaker 01

  I don't know the name.

• 1:22:05Speaker 04

You don't know the name? So that wouldn't be the answer then? No, but- Oh, it's my game! It's yours. Oh, okay, okay, okay. Yeah.

• 1:22:13Speaker 03

  One game for the- oh.

• 1:22:15Speaker 01

What game would you play for the rest of your life?

• 1:22:25Speaker 07

There's a lot of breathing going on right now.

• 1:22:27Speaker 04

  Yeah, welcome.

• 1:22:29Speaker 01

What was the game David just said? Like, Super Mario something, like?

• 1:22:32Speaker 04

You should not have to think about this for him. He does say it. You should not have to think about this, Marquez. I'm just giving it to you.

• 1:22:38Andrew Manganelli?

David talks about this all the time.

• 1:22:41Speaker 04

Like, maybe like on a third of all Waveform episodes.

• 1:22:44Speaker 01

  Oh.

• 1:22:44Speaker 04

It's true. David has put more hours into this game than anything else in his life.

• 1:22:49Speaker 01

Oh, wait, I gotta think of the name, though.

• 1:22:51Speaker 04

  Oh my-

• 1:22:51Speaker 01

Okay, hold on, hold on, hold on. Oh, I think I know what it is.

• 1:22:54Speaker 04

  David, listen to me!

• 1:22:55Speaker 01

I know what it is, I know what it is. I just need to make sure I'm thinking of the right thing.

• 1:22:59Speaker 04

I think we should make Marquez go first.

• 1:23:01Speaker 03

  Yeah, Marquez go first.

• 1:23:01Speaker 01

There's one of two. Is it Dota? Okay, it is, okay, okay, okay. Oh, you should have used your sureness thing on that.

• 1:23:08Andrew Manganelli?

I'm gonna be honest, Ellis, I think you gave Marquez the hint on that one.

• 1:23:12Speaker 03

He was gonna say Super Smash Brothers.

• 1:23:14Speaker 04

  I'll take it.

• 1:23:14Speaker 03

It's fine, because he's gonna get it now anyway.

• 1:23:16Speaker 04

I'm not gonna get it. Damn it! I've stuck between two, and I feel like they're both wrong. You really like Pokemon, but I don't think you would play it every single day. And you really like the Harry Potter PS2 game, but I don't think you play that that much anymore.

• 1:23:28Speaker 01

Oh, I played the [BLEEP] out of the PS2 Harry Potter.

• 1:23:30Speaker 04

  Um.

• 1:23:31Speaker 01

Dude, Chamber of Secrets for PS2.

• 1:23:34Speaker 04

If you could play one game for the rest of your life, Adam-

• 1:23:37Speaker 01

  It had Quidditch in it.

• 1:23:39Speaker 04

  I think it's Harry Potter.

• 1:23:42David Imel?

Well, I would have guessed actually.

• 1:23:43Speaker 04

  It was NBA 2K. Really?

• 1:23:44David Imel?

  I knew.

• 1:23:45Speaker 04

You've never talked about playing 2K.

• 1:23:46Speaker 03

I play 2K all the time, really?

• 1:23:48David Imel?

  Infinite worlds.

• 1:23:50Speaker 04

Do you guys play 2K together?

• 1:23:52David Imel?

No, we should though. Yeah, how do you not?

• 1:23:54Speaker 03

  Yeah.

• 1:23:55David Imel?

I feel like you both played a lot. Because the time of day, no, the time of day that I play is not the time that. Playing for his beer working out. Wait, what am I giving you?

• 1:24:03Speaker 04

  Oh, damn.

• 1:24:04Speaker 07

Can I guess what Ellis's game would be?

• 1:24:06Speaker 04

  Oh, sorry, Mark.

• 1:24:06Speaker 03

I was gonna, that's what I thought it was for. I thought it was for Ellis.

• 1:24:09Speaker 07

I was gonna say Ellis's would be Microsoft Flight Simulator.

• 1:24:12Speaker 04

No, I don't play that much Flight Simulator at the moment.

• 1:24:14Speaker 03

I'm thinking of the one that has a penguin.

• 1:24:15David Imel?

  What about?

• 1:24:16Speaker 04

  Club Penguin?

• 1:24:17Speaker 03

  That's the one.

• 1:24:18Speaker 07

The one that has the penguin?

• 1:24:20David Imel?

  No.

• 1:24:21Speaker 03

I thought that would be the game that he would play forever.

• 1:24:23Speaker 04

I think it'd probably be Kerbal Space Program.

• 1:24:25David Imel?

I thought there was, was like, you're playing a ton of last year. The old, the old game. No, not Kerbal Space Program.

• 1:24:30Speaker 04

  Pirates Online?

• 1:24:31David Imel?

Yeah, Pirates Online. That's what I was thinking of. What is?

• 1:24:35Speaker 04

Pirates Online is like a. Okay.

• 1:24:38Speaker 03

  Okay.

• 1:24:38Speaker 04

If you know what Pirates Online is. I'll see on the seven Cs, maybe. Not Sea of Thieves.

• 1:24:45David Imel?

  Not Sea of Thieves.

• 1:24:46Speaker 07

  All right, gamers.

• 1:24:47David Imel?

  All right.

• 1:24:48Speaker 07

New question dropped. All right, Ellis Marquez.

• 1:24:52Speaker 07

What is your most used emoji? Tell me.

• 1:24:55Speaker 04

Can I look at my phone?

• 1:24:57Speaker 07

  Sure.

• 1:24:59David Imel?

Can I look at my phone?

• 1:25:00Speaker 07

  No.

• 1:25:03David Imel?

I can tell you the most. I can tell you the emoji Marquez uses the most with me. When, when we're messaging each other.

• 1:25:09Speaker 04

  Poop emoji?

• 1:25:10David Imel?

  Poop emoji.

• 1:25:14David Imel?

  Okay.

• 1:25:14Speaker 07

Bonus point if you can draw the emoji.

• 1:25:16David Imel?

I'm trying. It's not gonna go well.

• 1:25:19Speaker 03

  Neither is mine.

• 1:25:25Speaker 07

This is why we have graphic designers.

• 1:25:27David Imel?

Tim needs to get in here immediately.

• 1:25:29Speaker 07

All right. What do you guys think?

• 1:25:31David Imel?

My guess for Marquez is the thumbs up.

• 1:25:34Speaker 04

  Dude, we're cooked. Let's go!

• 1:25:36Speaker 07

  Nice.

• 1:25:36Speaker 04

  That's an interesting.

• 1:25:37David Imel?

Sizzling. I tried to make the thumbs up.

• 1:25:39Speaker 04

  Interesting drawing.

• 1:25:40Speaker 01

I'm screwed now because that was my guess and now I don't know.

• 1:25:42Speaker 04

What if I ever used the thumbs up?

• 1:25:44David Imel?

You react to a lot of things with thumbs up.

• 1:25:46Speaker 04

I don't, I do not, I do not react with the thumbs up.

• 1:25:49Speaker 01

Well, I'll, I'll log it in and I'll say thumbs up anyway.

• 1:25:51David Imel?

  Oh, thumbs up, alright.

• 1:25:53Speaker 07

  Well, Adam.

• 1:25:55Speaker 04

It was, it was, it's this one.

• 1:25:56Speaker 01

I don't even know what it is.

• 1:25:57Speaker 04

That's like the crying laughing, the like, the, the vertical bar tears.

• 1:26:00David Imel?

  Tears.

• 1:26:01Speaker 04

  The, oh!

• 1:26:02David Imel?

  The crying, crying.

• 1:26:03Speaker 01

  Crying hard.

• 1:26:05Speaker 04

  Yeah, nice, nice, crying hard.

• 1:26:06David Imel?

  Oh, that one's cringe.

• 1:26:08Andrew Manganelli?

That's not crying laughing, is it?

• 1:26:09Speaker 04

  Yeah, it is.

• 1:26:09Speaker 01

No, crying laughing is the single tear.

• 1:26:11Andrew Manganelli?

There's two, there's a double tear and a single tear.

• 1:26:14Speaker 01

  There's a double tear.

• 1:26:15David Imel?

I use single tear all the time.

• 1:26:16Andrew Manganelli?

  I use like single tear.

• 1:26:17David Imel?

  All the time.

• 1:26:18Speaker 01

  Stream.

• 1:26:18Speaker 04

  Yeah, this is stream.

• 1:26:19Speaker 01

  Single sweat.

• 1:26:20Andrew Manganelli?

I thought stream was like, oh, that's so adorable, it's making me like cry, like, oh, that's so cute.

• 1:26:26David Imel?

The boomer one is the, is the double tear coming out the side.

• 1:26:29Andrew Manganelli?

Yeah, which is the default reaction on.

• 1:26:31Speaker 04

Adam, I'm, I gotta, I gotta confidence on this one. It's our only chance.

• 1:26:35Speaker 01

Guys, we gotta do it. Just snipe it.

• 1:26:37Andrew Manganelli?

  Alright.

• 1:26:37David Imel?

We're actually too bad if we also confidence this one.

• 1:26:41David Imel?

  We're doing pretty good.

• 1:26:42Andrew Manganelli?

Hmm. What celebrity do you resemble the most? This is David and Adam.

• 1:26:47Speaker 04

  I confidence, confidence.

• 1:26:48David Imel?

If you're gonna use your confidence.

• 1:26:49Andrew Manganelli?

Let me just make sure it happens.

• 1:26:51David Imel?

  It's me, right?

• 1:26:52Andrew Manganelli?

It's you, it's so David and Adam, who do they resemble the most?

• 1:26:56Speaker 04

  Yes!

• 1:26:56David Imel?

Are you gonna use your confidence?

• 1:26:57Speaker 04

  Yes!

• 1:26:58David Imel?

  Who's around this, Marquez?

• 1:26:59Speaker 01

  No, I need to wait.

• 1:27:00Speaker 04

I can't believe I'm gonna say this on the podcast!

• 1:27:02David Imel?

I need to remember the name. Oh no.

• 1:27:04Speaker 01

  The director.

• 1:27:05Speaker 04

  Oh? I just wanna say.

• 1:27:07Speaker 07

  We all know.

• 1:27:08Speaker 04

David's doing a lot of talking here, I'm just saying.

• 1:27:10Andrew Manganelli?

David has, David has a couple that are out there though.

• 1:27:12Speaker 04

I just wanna say, thank you, this one comes straight from the waveform comments, you guys gave me this one. Confidence answer, five points possible, Kyrie Irving. Kyrie Irving. Let's go!

• 1:27:24David Imel?

  Alright, Marquez.

• 1:27:25Speaker 01

I know this, I just need to remember his name, I can see the.

• 1:27:28Speaker 04

  We are so back!

• 1:27:29Speaker 01

I'm so distracted, okay, cuz there's pictures of, of young, a younger version of this director. Oh, I can see the hair, ah, what is his name? What is his name? Okay, hold on, how much time do I have? Cuz I'm, I know that, can I Google real quick?

• 1:27:43Speaker 04

  Absolutely not!

• 1:27:46Speaker 01

Dang it, okay, what's his name? Oh, I'm looking at his face in my head.

• 1:27:52Speaker 04

  He's right here.

• 1:27:53Speaker 01

  I know, but.

• 1:27:56Speaker 04

  Benjamin?

• 1:27:57Speaker 03

  No, no.

• 1:27:59Speaker 01

  You're messing him up.

• 1:28:00Speaker 04

  Samuel.

• 1:28:01Speaker 01

  It's a movie director. Okay.

• 1:28:03Speaker 03

Is there no shot clock violation?

• 1:28:05Speaker 04

  Yeah.

• 1:28:06Speaker 03

  Crazy.

• 1:28:07Speaker 01

I'm gonna hate it when I don't. Okay.

• 1:28:11Speaker 01

Younger, a younger version of him? Uh, okay, I'll bet.

• 1:28:15Andrew Manganelli?

Can you name a movie he made?

• 1:28:17Speaker 01

  God, no.

• 1:28:19Andrew Manganelli?

I'm interested in how you were gonna Google this.

• 1:28:21Speaker 03

He has so many famous movies.

• 1:28:23Speaker 01

  That's a good point, yeah.

• 1:28:24Speaker 03

  So many famous.

• 1:28:25Speaker 01

  I would've just Googled like

• 1:28:26Speaker 03

  Famous directors.

• 1:28:27Speaker 01

Famous directors, it would've come up.

• 1:28:28Speaker 04

  He would've come up, yeah.

• 1:28:30Speaker 07

Alright, Marquez, name a director for a dollar. Any director.

• 1:28:34Speaker 04

If you get this, I'm gonna be so mad. He's not.

• 1:28:37Speaker 01

Well, he might. It's not, it's not coming up. I don't have it.

• 1:28:40Speaker 03

  Can I say it?

• 1:28:42Speaker 01

If you give me the first letter, I'd probably.

• 1:28:43Speaker 03

  No!

• 1:28:47Speaker 01

  Alright, I don't.

• 1:28:48Speaker 03

  With any other director.

• 1:28:49Speaker 01

But I know it. The fact that I can't say it is such a disappointment that I don't get this.

• 1:28:53Andrew Manganelli?

Marquez, did you know it's Derek Wibley?

• 1:28:55Speaker 01

  What?

• 1:28:55Andrew Manganelli?

The lead singer of Sum 41.

• 1:28:57Speaker 01

I do also get that a lot. If it was multiple choice, I would get it. If you gave me the first letter of his last name, I would get it.

• 1:29:02Speaker 04

  You on the multiple choice?

• 1:29:03Speaker 01

  Oh, yeah.

• 1:29:04Speaker 04

Alright, these are all gonna be real directors.

• 1:29:05Speaker 01

  Okay.

• 1:29:07Speaker 04

A, Ron Howard. B, James Cameron. C, Quentin Tarantino. D, George Lucas. Yeah, it's Quentin Tarantino. It's QT.

• 1:29:18Speaker 01

I couldn't like think of the name.

• 1:29:21Speaker 03

That's why we couldn't give you the first letter, cuz Q would just give it away.

• 1:29:23Speaker 01

Would've given it away. It's not a documentary photo of me.

• 1:29:28Speaker 03

It's pretty crazy. But it's not as crazy as, as Adam and Kyrie.

• 1:29:31Speaker 01

If I find pictures of David at the same age as, as Quentin Tarantino at the same age, and it's like brothers.

• 1:29:37Speaker 03

I'm putting a side by side up on screen right now.

• 1:29:39Speaker 04

  Yeah, I'll send you this.

• 1:29:39Speaker 03

  Not a.

• 1:29:40Speaker 01

  Do I not get those?

• 1:29:40Speaker 03

Yeah, you look like Kyrie, dude!

• 1:29:43Speaker 04

  No, no.

• 1:29:43Speaker 01

  Actually.

• 1:29:44Speaker 03

I've been getting this comment since years when I first went on YouTube.

• 1:29:48Speaker 01

I get, I get like, people say I look like Victor Oladipo, and it's the same thing. Like, people say it a lot, and I, every time I look, I'm like, I just don't see it. But I, I don't see Kyrie at all.

• 1:29:57Speaker 03

Yeah. Well, yeah. I don't see it.

• 1:30:00Speaker 04

That was crazy. I feel like we are like in the lead now.

• 1:30:03Speaker 03

Oh my god, is it like five to three or something?

• 1:30:05Speaker 01

You just hit that, you switched a five pointer, right?

• 1:30:07Speaker 03

  Yeah.

• 1:30:08Speaker 04

  Five pointer?

• 1:30:08Speaker 03

  That was a five.

• 1:30:09David Imel?

One player. Right there. All right, all right.

• 1:30:11Speaker 04

  Yeah. Call me Reggie Miller.

• 1:30:12David Imel?

I'm so mad I didn't get that. Ellis and I were in a parking lot the other day.

• 1:30:16Speaker 04

  This is true.

• 1:30:17David Imel?

And I went into a pizza shop, which was a mistake because it was not good. Anyway, the pizza lady was like, are you an actor? And I was like, oh, you know, I get this because of the Quentin Tarantino thing, even though he's not an actor, whatever. And I was like, oh, no. And she's like, oh, you look so much like an actor. And I was like, who? And she was like, on, um. David and Mel from the Wayfarer podcast. On Supernatural. And I was like, what? And I look, apparently the angel on Supernatural, she thought I looked like, which I was like.

• 1:30:47Speaker 04

  It was a new one.

• 1:30:48David Imel?

Wow. Never got that one before. Yeah, I'll take it. Yeah.

• 1:30:51Speaker 07

  Alice and Marquez.

• 1:30:52David Imel?

  Alice and Marquez.

• 1:30:53Speaker 04

Me is a combination of Marquez and Alice.

• 1:30:55David Imel?

  Have the question be.

• 1:30:57Speaker 07

  All right.

• 1:30:57David Imel?

  Alice. What?

• 1:30:58Speaker 04

  Alice.

• 1:30:59David Imel?

What task management app do you use?

• 1:31:02Speaker 07

Okay, Alice and Marquez, my question for you is, would you rather have a Windows phone or an Amazon phone? I didn't write this question.

• 1:31:10David Imel?

  Oh, what?

• 1:31:12Speaker 04

Do you mean like, like a literal Fire Phone?

• 1:31:15David Imel?

  Or do you think?

• 1:31:15Andrew Manganelli?

No, I mean, like, if, well, take it as you will. Maybe if both of them made a phone right now, maybe if it was the Windows phone or the Fire Phone.

• 1:31:23David Imel?

Okay, I think I know the answer to this one.

• 1:31:26Speaker 07

  There's only two options.

• 1:31:27David Imel?

  I know.

• 1:31:27Speaker 07

You really gotta be able to lock in.

• 1:31:29David Imel?

Gotta lock in. All right, Dave, do you want to go first? Yeah, sure. Okay. All right.

• 1:31:34David Imel?

Does Marquez want an Amazon phone or a Microsoft phone? Can I, should I give my reasoning? Sure. Sure. I'm gonna say Amazon phone because the Amazon App Store is Android based. The Fire Phone was Android based, which means it can run Android apps, which means he doesn't have to change his lifestyle that much. So that's my guess, Amazon phone. That is really well thought out, completely wrong. I would use an old Lumia 1020 and just suffer through the lack of apps. No apps for it. Yeah, I would suffer. I would suffer. You would sop, oh, suffer. Suffer, yeah. Yeah, I thought you said I would software. I was like, no, you wouldn't. I would have a bad time either way. There is no software for that. So at least I could take some nice pictures. Oh, it's sad. Damn. I think. What do you think about my reasoning? Do you think? That was valid.

• 1:32:19David Imel?

All right. I, I hated the Fire Phone though. Yeah, but it, at least it runs Android, yeah. It's only smart for me here to use my confidence play.

• 1:32:27Speaker 04

So for five points, I will say, oh my god, Amazon phone. Dude, are you serious? What? Are you serious? You said Windows? I've talked about the Windows phone so many times on the podcast. But you love the jankiest stuff. I thought you would love using an old Amazon phone. I think the Windows phone was like way ahead of its time as far as. It was. Yeah, it was amazing. I thought it was really beautiful.

• 1:32:48Andrew Manganelli?

  I will say.

• 1:32:49Speaker 04

  Damn, I really thought.

• 1:32:50Andrew Manganelli?

Seeing on this side and seeing Ellis's and Marquez's answers are, is way more fun as the co-host.

• 1:32:56Speaker 04

  Damn, I really thought.

• 1:32:58Andrew Manganelli?

  That's a rough confidence vote.

• 1:33:00David Imel?

  Yeah, I had a 50/50 shot.

• 1:33:01Speaker 04

  No, you, you, you actually.

• 1:33:02David Imel?

That's the way to use it.

• 1:33:03Speaker 04

And now I know you don't listen to me.

• 1:33:04Speaker 01

I do if you want to use confidence when you have a higher than a 50/50 shot. Should have done that on Dota 2. Alright.

• 1:33:10Speaker 04

  Alright.

• 1:33:11Andrew Manganelli?

Alright, so this is for David and Adam. You guys let me know when you want to start wrapping it up, but David and Marquez have.

• 1:33:19Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 1:33:20Andrew Manganelli?

This game's never gonna end until one person.

• 1:33:22Speaker 04

  We can stop now.

• 1:33:24David Imel?

  That's fine.

• 1:33:25Andrew Manganelli?

If you could wipe one tech company off the face of the earth, who would it be?

• 1:33:32Speaker 03

I don't even need to look up.

• 1:33:34Speaker 04

  What?

• 1:33:36Speaker 01

  There's so many.

• 1:33:37Speaker 04

  You?

• 1:33:39Speaker 01

  Me. Hold on.

• 1:33:42Speaker 01

  Oh, yeah, okay, definitely.

• 1:33:43Andrew Manganelli?

If you, Adam Molina's just like. It doesn't exist or doesn't exist anymore, is gone. Nothing bad happens to them. They're just non-existent anymore.

• 1:33:51Speaker 04

  Okay, okay.

• 1:33:53Speaker 01

  Damn.

• 1:33:54Speaker 04

I have an idea. I don't think you do anymore.

• 1:33:58Speaker 04

No, Adam, I think if you could wipe one tech company off of the face of the earth, never to be seen again.

• 1:34:04Speaker 01

  Kyrie Irving.

• 1:34:05Speaker 04

It would be tech, it's tech company. It's not any tech, it's not any company. I think the answer is X.

• 1:34:13Speaker 03

  That's a good guess. OpenAI.

• 1:34:15Speaker 01

  Wow.

• 1:34:16Speaker 04

  Damn.

• 1:34:16Speaker 01

  Interesting.

• 1:34:17Speaker 03

  X is a good one.

• 1:34:18Speaker 01

I had, I was going between a bunch of these for David. I, I know how much you like film. I don't think you would eliminate like a Sony or Canon. I think you're.

• 1:34:27Speaker 04

  Wait, these are tech companies.

• 1:34:28Speaker 01

I know, that's why I'm good. That's, that's when I shifted to like the Fediverse.

• 1:34:33Speaker 04

That's what I was thinking too.

• 1:34:34Speaker 01

And I was thinking if we didn't have like Meta.

• 1:34:39Speaker 04

  This is literally my exact.

• 1:34:40Speaker 01

That would be great for the Fediverse.

• 1:34:42Speaker 04

I was like, if we didn't have X, everyone would be on like Walrus or whatever it is that everybody uses.

• 1:34:46Speaker 01

Exactly. Yeah, I'm gonna go with meta.

• 1:34:49Speaker 04

  Meta!

• 1:34:49David Imel?

  Yes!

• 1:34:51Speaker 04

  Hell yeah.

• 1:34:52Speaker 01

I maybe should have confidence that.

• 1:34:53Speaker 04

  Yeah, maybe.

• 1:34:54Speaker 01

  Damn.

• 1:34:54Speaker 04

Maybe I should have given you a second to think about if you wanted to.

• 1:34:57Speaker 01

  That was good.

• 1:34:57Speaker 04

  That was good.

• 1:34:58David Imel?

  Good chain of thought reasoning.

• 1:34:59Speaker 01

Okay. We're still in it. Still good. It's 5-4 now. We still got the lead.

• 1:35:03Speaker 04

  3-4.

• 1:35:03Speaker 01

Have you missed every single one other than the confidence?

• 1:35:07Speaker 04

  Kyrie!

• 1:35:10Speaker 04

  Kyrie!

• 1:35:11Speaker 01

  From way downtown.

• 1:35:14Speaker 04

  I need you Kyrie!

• 1:35:15David Imel?

The funny is, I still don't know what that's from. I just hear you guys scream it all the time.

• 1:35:19Speaker 01

  That's perfect.

• 1:35:20David Imel?

  It's funny to me.

• 1:35:21Speaker 01

  That's perfect.

• 1:35:21Speaker 03

  We love you Mark Phillips.

• 1:35:24Speaker 07

Alright gamers, my question for Alison Marquez is, if you were stranded on a deserted island, what is one piece of tech that you couldn't live without?

• 1:35:35David Imel?

  Gold?

• 1:35:36Speaker 03

  One piece of tech.

• 1:35:37Andrew Manganelli?

Assuming it works on the desert island, I think.

• 1:35:42David Imel?

  Assuming it works on it.

• 1:35:42Speaker 03

Are we talking like practically what they would want, or just like a thing they really like?

• 1:35:50Andrew Manganelli?

  Know your partner.

• 1:35:50Speaker 04

I don't know if I should do like a joke answer.

• 1:35:53Andrew Manganelli?

That's what I'm saying. No talking else.

• 1:35:55Speaker 07

  No talking and speaking.

• 1:35:56Speaker 01

Cause there could also be like the...

• 1:36:00David Imel?

Alright, should I do my confidence for this? I'll probably save it because we're only one point.

• 1:36:05Speaker 03

  I barely know.

• 1:36:06Speaker 07

He doesn't look so sure about this. I don't know.

• 1:36:08David Imel?

No. I'm just gonna say smartphone, because it works. So you can just call for help.

• 1:36:20Speaker 01

  That was a great idea.

• 1:36:23David Imel?

Was it gonna be, was it solar pant, was it solar roof?

• 1:36:28Speaker 01

  I did write solar panels.

• 1:36:30Speaker 03

  To charge what?

• 1:36:31Speaker 01

Yeah. No, I didn't think that hard. I was just like, I panicked.

• 1:36:36Speaker 03

  To charge the coconut tree.

• 1:36:37Speaker 01

I had 30 seconds to just write something.

• 1:36:39Speaker 03

I literally just was gonna, for the same exact reasoning, like a smartphone, because then you could just call for help.

• 1:36:47Speaker 04

  Does that count?

• 1:36:48Speaker 07

  Chat, I'm gonna take it.

• 1:36:49Speaker 04

Yes. I specifically wrote iPhone 12 mini.

• 1:36:51David Imel?

Okay, okay, yeah, yeah. Let's go.

• 1:36:54Speaker 01

  Did it charge one?

• 1:36:55David Imel?

  I don't know.

• 1:36:57Speaker 04

Did it charge my other solar panels?

• 1:37:00David Imel?

Like, I just need power. I don't know what the power. Thank you.

• 1:37:03Speaker 04

  Six on the board.

• 1:37:04Speaker 01

  Oh my gosh.

• 1:37:05Speaker 04

  Feeling good.

• 1:37:06Speaker 01

  All right.

• 1:37:07David Imel?

Good thing we could end it here.

• 1:37:08Speaker 01

We had a bursey. Glad I didn't confidence that.

• 1:37:11Andrew Manganelli?

Yeah. You're on a road trip. What is one piece of candy you're picking out of the gas station?

• 1:37:19David Imel?

  You're so like anti-sweets.

• 1:37:20Speaker 01

So I'm supposed, oh, my favorite piece of candy?

• 1:37:22David Imel?

  Anti-sweets?

• 1:37:23Speaker 01

  Oh geez, I'm.

• 1:37:24Speaker 04

You don't know Adam was that.

• 1:37:26Andrew Manganelli?

No, Adam loves sweets, but hates to love sweets.

• 1:37:31David Imel?

I can, I'll, I'll reply after this. You said candy specifically?

• 1:37:35Andrew Manganelli?

  Candy.

• 1:37:37Speaker 01

I have a feeling I'm gonna not even have heard of whatever you're writing.

• 1:37:40David Imel?

  No, it's, yeah, I.

• 1:37:42Andrew Manganelli?

We did a whole episode where we talked about candy to each other.

• 1:37:45Speaker 01

Yeah, but it was crazy other, the tasting episode?

• 1:37:48David Imel?

  Yeah.

• 1:37:49Speaker 01

  Yeah, there's crazy candies.

• 1:37:50David Imel?

I really, I rarely engage in the candy lunch conversations.

• 1:37:54Speaker 01

  Candy too, that's like.

• 1:37:56David Imel?

I'm not a big candy man.

• 1:37:57Speaker 01

  It's a very broad category.

• 1:37:59David Imel?

  It's a lot of words.

• 1:38:01Speaker 01

Gas station candy? Gas station? Okay.

• 1:38:04David Imel?

They sell regular candy at a gas station.

• 1:38:07Speaker 01

  That's fair.

• 1:38:07David Imel?

  It's not like.

• 1:38:08Speaker 01

  It's gotta be pretty popular.

• 1:38:09David Imel?

It's not like gas station pills.

• 1:38:10Speaker 07

  Okay, what do you got?

• 1:38:12Speaker 01

I'm just gonna say, uh, Reese's candies. Yeah, Reese's.

• 1:38:18Speaker 04

  No way!

• 1:38:22David Imel?

  Bro.

• 1:38:23Speaker 01

  I should have confidence again.

• 1:38:24David Imel?

No, I mean. What a lucky guess. Such a random one.

• 1:38:27Speaker 07

  I wouldn't have guessed that.

• 1:38:28Speaker 01

I was, I was gonna say Starburst until I started talking.

• 1:38:30David Imel?

  I don't really like Starburst.

• 1:38:31Speaker 04

There's no way Ellis is gonna get this, so.

• 1:38:34David Imel?

  Why?

• 1:38:35Speaker 04

  It's, cuz I don't, I don't, I'll answer after.

• 1:38:41David Imel?

That's good. Actually, the only time that I buy Reese's Peanut Butter Cups is when I'm on a road trip.

• 1:38:46Speaker 04

  Wow.

• 1:38:47David Imel?

Do they? King size pack. Yeah.

• 1:38:49Speaker 04

If you are on a road trip.

• 1:38:50Speaker 03

If I'm on a road trip and I have to walk into the store and buy candy.

• 1:38:54Speaker 04

  You would buy?

• 1:38:55Speaker 03

  I would buy.

• 1:38:57Speaker 03

  From the gas station.

• 1:38:58Speaker 04

  Gum.

• 1:39:00David Imel?

  Is that considered candy?

• 1:39:01Speaker 04

  I don't know.

• 1:39:02Speaker 03

I just put the white chocolate Hershey's.

• 1:39:03David Imel?

  Just. Just.

• 1:39:05Speaker 03

  Those are good.

• 1:39:06David Imel?

  I've never even tried.

• 1:39:07Speaker 03

The thing is, I hate candy.

• 1:39:09Speaker 04

  They're hotter.

• 1:39:09Speaker 03

  I like.

• 1:39:10Speaker 04

  That's why I guess gum.

• 1:39:10David Imel?

At Hershey's, do you mean the? Cupcakes and stuff. The bar? Oh, the bar is the white chocolate.

• 1:39:15Speaker 07

  White chocolate?

• 1:39:15David Imel?

  The white chocolate one's actually.

• 1:39:16Speaker 04

Do you mean the cookies and cream bar?

• 1:39:17David Imel?

  Yeah, that one's actually good.

• 1:39:19Speaker 03

  Damn, that one. Tasty.

• 1:39:21David Imel?

And I don't like the regular chocolate bars.

• 1:39:22Speaker 04

  It's five, six now?

• 1:39:24David Imel?

  Yeah, five, six.

• 1:39:25Speaker 04

  Dude.

• 1:39:26Speaker 07

Ellison Marquez, how many tabs do you have open in your browser right now?

• 1:39:31David Imel?

  Have to look, though.

• 1:39:33Speaker 03

  Right now?

• 1:39:34Andrew Manganelli?

  This one?

• 1:39:35Speaker 03

  Yeah.

• 1:39:35Speaker 04

Are we doing delta or do they have to get it exactly?

• 1:39:38Speaker 03

  Yeah.

• 1:39:38Speaker 07

  I think if.

• 1:39:41Speaker 07

  I think within five.

• 1:39:42Speaker 03

  Within five.

• 1:39:43David Imel?

  Within five?

• 1:39:45Andrew Manganelli?

  Within, within.

• 1:39:45David Imel?

  Five is a lot.

• 1:39:46Speaker 07

Within two, within two, is that fair?

• 1:39:49Speaker 04

I think we should do delta.

• 1:39:51Speaker 07

I don't know what that means.

• 1:39:52Speaker 03

  Closest delta.

• 1:39:53David Imel?

  Closest delta.

• 1:39:54Andrew Manganelli?

Whichever partner gets closest to their partner's score.

• 1:39:56Speaker 03

  Yeah.

• 1:39:57David Imel?

The closest hub for the airline.

• 1:39:58Andrew Manganelli?

Within five could be like for one person, more tabs than they have and the other person like 1% of the tabs that they have open.

• 1:40:07David Imel?

My guess is that Marquez has four tabs open.

• 1:40:11Speaker 03

  I have three.

• 1:40:11David Imel?

  Ah, shit.

• 1:40:13Speaker 03

  Three tabs.

• 1:40:13Speaker 07

  Pretty good. He's pretty good.

• 1:40:15Speaker 04

How do you guys know each other so well?

• 1:40:17Speaker 03

This is good. I'm guessing seven.

• 1:40:23Speaker 04

  We were, we're, we're.

• 1:40:24Speaker 07

  Oh, close. It's close.

• 1:40:27David Imel?

  Oh, we're tied now.

• 1:40:28Speaker 03

  Yes.

• 1:40:29David Imel?

  We're tied now.

• 1:40:29Speaker 03

  Yes.

• 1:40:31David Imel?

We still have two five pointers.

• 1:40:32Andrew Manganelli?

  Two questions left.

• 1:40:33David Imel?

  Six to six.

• 1:40:34Andrew Manganelli?

You do have the opportunity to use your.

• 1:40:36David Imel?

  Well, we have to.

• 1:40:37Andrew Manganelli?

  Here's what I'll throw out.

• 1:40:38Speaker 04

  This is bad.

• 1:40:39Speaker 03

They can't get anything right or we lose.

• 1:40:41Andrew Manganelli?

We did not make a tiebreaker rule. But there is an opportunity to tie here.

• 1:40:45Speaker 04

  How?

• 1:40:46Andrew Manganelli?

You can use your confidence. Cause you're tied right now. That's how you can.

• 1:40:49Speaker 04

  Oh.

• 1:40:50Speaker 03

  So we have tied.

• 1:40:51Andrew Manganelli?

So you're tied. You have two more questions.

• 1:40:53Speaker 03

  Good place to end it.

• 1:40:54Andrew Manganelli?

Marques, David have two confidence things.

• 1:40:56David Imel?

  Yeah.

• 1:40:57Andrew Manganelli?

You could do it here to automatically win. Or if you're too worried about a tie and you want to use it on the tiebreaker round. It's up to you.

• 1:41:06Speaker 03

  We're gonna win.

• 1:41:06Andrew Manganelli?

It is available in the tiebreaker.

• 1:41:08Speaker 04

I think we're gonna. We gotta lock in, man.

• 1:41:10David Imel?

We've been ramping. We've been building.

• 1:41:12Speaker 04

  That was a good guess.

• 1:41:13David Imel?

I feel it. I feel this.

• 1:41:14Andrew Manganelli?

  Okay.

• 1:41:14Speaker 03

Whatever we do isn't gonna matter because it really depends on them. Like it's their game to lose right now.

• 1:41:19Speaker 04

  Yeah.

• 1:41:19Andrew Manganelli?

  All right, Adam and David.

• 1:41:21Speaker 04

That's true. No, we have to get one right.

• 1:41:22Speaker 03

Oh, we have to get one. Yeah.

• 1:41:23Andrew Manganelli?

Adam and David, if you were going to get a technology related tattoo, what would it be?

• 1:41:29Speaker 04

  Oh, I know David's. I know David's. That's so annoying.

• 1:41:32David Imel?

  Yeah.

• 1:41:33Speaker 03

Hey, I don't know what mine is. I haven't thought of this.

• 1:41:34Speaker 04

Do I get a point if I tell David what his is?

• 1:41:37David Imel?

  Not newlyweds.

• 1:41:39Speaker 04

  Damn.

• 1:41:40David Imel?

I've literally told Ellis this before.

• 1:41:42Speaker 04

  Yeah.

• 1:41:42David Imel?

  Yeah.

• 1:41:43Speaker 01

  Oh, no. Technology.

• 1:41:45Speaker 04

Meanwhile, Mr. Tattoos a lot over here could get anything.

• 1:41:48Speaker 03

  Why would I?

• 1:41:51David Imel?

  Tattoos a lot.

• 1:41:55Speaker 01

  Damn.

• 1:41:56Speaker 04

  Wait.

• 1:41:56Speaker 01

  I have an idea.

• 1:41:57Speaker 04

I know. I know Adam hasn't written anything yet, but assuming he keeps it in theme, I know.

• 1:42:03David Imel?

  Well, I'm going thematic.

• 1:42:04Speaker 03

Is it what I would get now?

• 1:42:07Andrew Manganelli?

  Yeah.

• 1:42:08Speaker 07

  Versus when?

• 1:42:11David Imel?

  Well, I'll explain.

• 1:42:14Andrew Manganelli?

You, I already had the tattoo artist is right outside the door, so we will prove this.

• 1:42:18David Imel?

Oh, shoot. I feel, I mean, I'd get a different tattoo now. So can I change my answer?

• 1:42:24David Imel?

To what I would get now?

• 1:42:25Andrew Manganelli?

I think that's the question. Yeah. Yeah. What would you get right now?

• 1:42:28David Imel?

Today. Tattoo artist walks in. What do you get? Can we define? Okay, whatever.

• 1:42:33Speaker 03

  Yeah, wait, can we define?

• 1:42:34David Imel?

  Technology.

• 1:42:35Speaker 03

  Technology.

• 1:42:37Andrew Manganelli?

We're on a technology podcast. Like, would we maybe talk about it on here? Like, I think we've got a.

• 1:42:43Speaker 03

  Okay.

• 1:42:43Andrew Manganelli?

  If you.

• 1:42:44David Imel?

  Okay.

• 1:42:45Andrew Manganelli?

Yeah, like you're not getting a Zuzu tattoo that's technology based. I mean, unless it was like robo Zuzu, which would be kind of sick now that I think about it, but.

• 1:42:53Speaker 03

  Optimist Zuzu.

• 1:42:55Speaker 01

  Hmm, okay.

• 1:42:56David Imel?

I think, I think, I think he would get a one plus logo on his forehead.

• 1:43:01Speaker 04

  Bar.

• 1:43:04David Imel?

  No, I haven't.

• 1:43:04Speaker 04

  That's insane.

• 1:43:05Andrew Manganelli?

  Y'all need to fight now.

• 1:43:06Speaker 01

  Should I guess first?

• 1:43:07Speaker 04

  Please.

• 1:43:07David Imel?

  You're using your double down.

• 1:43:09Speaker 01

Uh, yeah, I'm using my confidence guess. Cause I'm so confident that David would get something photography related.

• 1:43:20Andrew Manganelli?

Can we be a little more specific?

• 1:43:22Speaker 01

Really? I feel like that's pretty specific. Either a camera.

• 1:43:25Andrew Manganelli?

Okay, here's, here's what I'll do. You can either be more specific or I can have David turn it around and it's like very, his is very specific and yours is.

• 1:43:34Speaker 01

I would say my envelope is something related to, how about?

• 1:43:37Andrew Manganelli?

  If his.

• 1:43:38Speaker 01

  Photography or camera hardware.

• 1:43:40Andrew Manganelli?

  Okay.

• 1:43:40Speaker 01

Either film, lens, camera, that sort of.

• 1:43:43Andrew Manganelli?

Okay, but if he has like a logo or something, I'm not counting.

• 1:43:47Speaker 01

  Sure.

• 1:43:48Andrew Manganelli?

  Okay.

• 1:43:49David Imel?

Please don't get a logo tattoo.

• 1:43:50Speaker 01

  My Fuji TX1 camera.

• 1:43:51David Imel?

Yes, that's what I was picturing.

• 1:43:53Speaker 01

That does. I wasn't trying to name a camera, but I was pretty confident it was a camera or something like camera related.

• 1:43:58David Imel?

  Yeah.

• 1:43:59Speaker 01

  That's five points right there.

• 1:44:00David Imel?

That's five points. It might be game. I mean, you guys can, oh, you can't.

• 1:44:03Speaker 01

Our field goal percentage was incredibly high.

• 1:44:07David Imel?

We still have a little more question after this, though.

• 1:44:09Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 1:44:10Speaker 04

Then I think if I, going on the same levels of vagueness, Adams would be something Nintendo related.

• 1:44:18Andrew Manganelli?

  No.

• 1:44:18Speaker 04

  Damn.

• 1:44:19Andrew Manganelli?

I would get the waveform logo.

• 1:44:21David Imel?

  Yeah, that's fire.

• 1:44:21Speaker 04

  You are such a shill.

• 1:44:24Andrew Manganelli?

I'm not, yeah, this one. I'm not getting a random company logo.

• 1:44:28Speaker 01

Well, this is the one I work for.

• 1:44:32Andrew Manganelli?

  I would have.

• 1:44:32Speaker 04

How many Harry Potter tattoos do you have?

• 1:44:34Andrew Manganelli?

I have a whole sleeve of Harry Potter tattoos.

• 1:44:37David Imel?

  Yeah.

• 1:44:39Speaker 01

  But that's not a logo.

• 1:44:40Andrew Manganelli?

I was picturing logos. That's why I'm like, I'm not getting Nintendo or Apple or like, I'm not getting.

• 1:44:44David Imel?

The reason Alice knew the tattoo that I used to want to get in 2013, I almost got a system on a chip on my chest.

• 1:44:53Andrew Manganelli?

  Oh, I remember that.

• 1:44:54David Imel?

And, uh, I chickened out at the last second, but I was gonna, it was very like, I'm 14 and this is deep. I was gonna have the different modules, like the RAM was gonna say like love and like the.

• 1:45:04Andrew Manganelli?

Wait, you need to get this.

• 1:45:06David Imel?

  CPU was gonna say like.

• 1:45:07Speaker 01

  Brain thought.

• 1:45:09David Imel?

And it was supposed to like.

• 1:45:10Andrew Manganelli?

One million likes on this episode and David gets this tattoo.

• 1:45:14David Imel?

I mean, I was literally like, I was young, I was youthful. But it was like, S O C's were pretty new, so, you know.

• 1:45:21Speaker 04

  That's good stuff.

• 1:45:22Speaker 07

  Wow. That's very angsty.

• 1:45:24Speaker 04

  Just for funsies. Yeah, exhibition.

• 1:45:26David Imel?

God, sorry, guys. Dang it. You did beat us last time.

• 1:45:30Speaker 04

Yeah, now we need a tiebreaker.

• 1:45:32David Imel?

Yeah, we need a tiebreaker game.

• 1:45:33Speaker 07

That's the one I want to do the most, isn't it?

• 1:45:35Andrew Manganelli?

How about this? If David and Marquez agree, this next question is ultra specific.

• 1:45:41Speaker 04

  All or nothing?

• 1:45:42Andrew Manganelli?

Okay. So if they, do you want to do, if you get word for word, it's worth five points? And you can still confidence it and double it?

• 1:45:52David Imel?

Well, we, but they don't, they're out of confidence.

• 1:45:54Speaker 04

  We can't confidence it.

• 1:45:55Andrew Manganelli?

  Exactly. That's, that's why I'm saying so.

• 1:45:58David Imel?

  Oh.

• 1:45:58Andrew Manganelli?

Then if Marquez and David were to get it wrong.

• 1:46:00David Imel?

And you guys get it right.

• 1:46:01Andrew Manganelli?

And they got it right, it ties.

• 1:46:02David Imel?

  Okay.

• 1:46:02Andrew Manganelli?

But if Marquez and David get it right with their confidence boost.

• 1:46:05David Imel?

  The extra win.

• 1:46:07Speaker 04

  The extra.

• 1:46:08David Imel?

  Okay.

• 1:46:08Speaker 04

  Sure. I'll agree to these.

• 1:46:09Andrew Manganelli?

We'll agree to this. Okay, this is a five point question.

• 1:46:11Speaker 04

  Let's go.

• 1:46:12Andrew Manganelli?

  Okay.

• 1:46:13Speaker 04

  Ellis Rovin.

• 1:46:13Speaker 03

So I need to guess his answer word for word.

• 1:46:16Speaker 04

  Just, you got this, man.

• 1:46:16Andrew Manganelli?

  Okay.

• 1:46:17Speaker 04

Look in my eyes, that worked last time. We haven't been doing, that's a problem.

• 1:46:19Speaker 03

  That's true.

• 1:46:20Speaker 04

We haven't been getting any eye contact in this game.

• 1:46:22Speaker 07

I think you all could do it.

• 1:46:24Speaker 04

Adam, what's my social security number?

• 1:46:28Speaker 01

  Just, just write numbers.

• 1:46:30Speaker 07

  All right, gamers.

• 1:46:31Speaker 04

  Six, zero.

• 1:46:33Speaker 07

The most important question you've ever been asked is, what is your go to sandwich order at Wawa?

• 1:46:41David Imel?

  Oh, god damn. At Wawa?

• 1:46:43Speaker 07

  At Wawa.

• 1:46:43David Imel?

  Dude.

• 1:46:46David Imel?

  Oh, gosh.

• 1:46:46Speaker 04

I know everyone at this, wait.

• 1:46:50Speaker 07

  You should know by now.

• 1:46:51David Imel?

You have to get it word for word?

• 1:46:53Speaker 04

  Yeah, that's hard.

• 1:46:53David Imel?

  I know what it is.

• 1:46:55Speaker 01

It's been like, or like, a while.

• 1:46:57David Imel?

  Favorite.

• 1:46:59Speaker 07

When you think of like, a default Marquez order, or you think of like, a default Ellis order, what are they getting?

• 1:47:04Speaker 04

Adam's always in the, Adam's always in the gym when I eat this.

• 1:47:07David Imel?

We have to get this word for word.

• 1:47:09Speaker 07

It's been like, four years, you should know by now what it is.

• 1:47:12Speaker 01

I haven't been to Wawa since last.

• 1:47:13Speaker 04

  Yeah.

• 1:47:13Andrew Manganelli?

Word for word, but you're in the lead, so this should be beneficial to you.

• 1:47:17David Imel?

  All right.

• 1:47:17Andrew Manganelli?

But like, if, if you miss something and the board says it, then it's wrong. You have to name everything they have on the board.

• 1:47:25Speaker 03

I'm just gonna go right off the top of the dome.

• 1:47:29Speaker 07

Can I, can I see what you guys have first before they guess? If you can hold up your board for me.

• 1:47:33Speaker 03

The fact that Ellis is still writing has me nervous.

• 1:47:36David Imel?

I will say, I, I asked Marquez what he gets a lot and he told me and then I started getting it. But I don't remember exactly what it was.

• 1:47:44Speaker 03

I'm just gonna say the Thanksgiving gobbler from Wall Street.

• 1:47:46Speaker 04

Oh, I should have written that.

• 1:47:49Speaker 04

That's, I didn't think of that as my go-to because it's only around for one season, but that is, that is.

• 1:47:55David Imel?

But Ellis, to your credit, that's not a go-to because it's only temporary.

• 1:47:58Speaker 03

Yeah, but when it's there, he gets that every time.

• 1:48:00Speaker 04

That's what he would have guessed.

• 1:48:01Speaker 07

Ellis, can you tell the people what your sandwich was?

• 1:48:03Speaker 04

I put the Philly classic, the chicken cutlet hoagie.

• 1:48:07Speaker 04

The hell's a hoagie? You mean a hero? What the hell is a hero? You know, is that that thing the military spends all their money making movies about?

• 1:48:17Speaker 04

  Jesus Christ.

• 1:48:18Speaker 07

It's okay. We'll bounce back. We'll bounce back. What do you think, David?

• 1:48:21David Imel?

I think it's like the chicken bacon club. It's got three layers of bread. I know that.

• 1:48:25Speaker 04

He wrote all those words on his board.

• 1:48:27Speaker 03

It's got three layers of bread. I know that.

• 1:48:30Speaker 01

Honestly, that's more accurate to what my actual order than what I wrote. I couldn't remember what it was called. I wrote turkey club because I forgot what it was called. But that is what it is.

• 1:48:40David Imel?

  The chicken club, right?

• 1:48:41Speaker 01

  Something, something club sandwich.

• 1:48:43David Imel?

Yeah, I almost said turkey club because that's the most common type of club. But I'm pretty sure you usually get the chicken club.

• 1:48:48Speaker 01

  Probably right.

• 1:48:49David Imel?

  Yeah.

• 1:48:50Speaker 01

  And chips.

• 1:48:51Speaker 04

You know what I learned from this is that I think Adam knows me better than I know myself. Because every single one of those answers, I was like, no, that is what I would, I would say.

• 1:49:00Andrew Manganelli?

Count it? Oh, I mean, yeah, I can. Oh, no, I'm not counting it. But they won by.

• 1:49:04David Imel?

  Five.

• 1:49:04Andrew Manganelli?

  Five anyways.

• 1:49:05Speaker 03

Yeah, well, we'll see you guys in the next game.

• 1:49:07David Imel?

  Yeah, tiebreaker game.

• 1:49:09Speaker 03

Yeah, we took it there, but it's just a game of basketball.

• 1:49:11David Imel?

  We did cook on that.

• 1:49:12Andrew Manganelli?

Thank you all again. I will continue to find games online or on television that I can steal and turn into hitting my friends against each other.

• 1:49:22Speaker 04

Do you want to just do way from trivia from here?

• 1:49:25Andrew Manganelli?

Yeah, we can do that from here.

• 1:49:26Speaker 04

  Mariah, hit it.

• 1:49:30David Imel?

Hey. That's pretty good. That's pretty good.

• 1:49:34Speaker 07

  Panicked. Okay.

• 1:49:35Speaker 04

Marques, Andrew, David. The wireless power consortium was started by a company called Fulton Innovation, who is trying to standardize the induction powering technique they developed for what kind of product?

• 1:49:50David Imel?

  And it's a specific product.

• 1:49:52Speaker 03

  Mm-hmm.

• 1:49:57Speaker 03

  I'll give you a hint.

• 1:49:58Andrew Manganelli?

Can you say that one more time?

• 1:50:01Andrew Manganelli?

Oh, can you say it one more time?

• 1:50:02Speaker 04

What kind of product? Wait. The Fulton, Fulton Innovation started the Wireless Power Consortium. They invited other companies to join to an attempt to standardize the wireless power technology they had developed for what kind of product?

• 1:50:18David Imel?

All right. I'm guessing stove top.

• 1:50:22Speaker 04

  That is incorrect.

• 1:50:24David Imel?

  I'm guessing stove top.

• 1:50:25Speaker 04

  That is incorrect.

• 1:50:26Speaker 07

  They all said stove top.

• 1:50:27Speaker 04

  They all said stove top.

• 1:50:28David Imel?

  No way.

• 1:50:30Andrew Manganelli?

I think we all heard induction.

• 1:50:33Speaker 04

  The correct answer.

• 1:50:34David Imel?

  I was thinking they pivoted.

• 1:50:35Speaker 04

Is a water purifier. And the reason that it was a water purifier and they went with the wireless power technology is because they needed to hermetically seal it and also get power inside of it.

• 1:50:48David Imel?

I've heard of a Brita before.

• 1:50:51David Imel?

That seems like a lot of work.

• 1:50:52Andrew Manganelli?

Or a Berkey. Yo, your Brita got cheated.

• 1:50:53Speaker 04

You understand now, you understand now why I was like, this can't possibly be true. Like, the Wireless Power Consortium was started because a water purifier, a water filter company was like, we might have actually invented something pretty cool here.

• 1:51:06David Imel?

  All right.

• 1:51:07Speaker 04

They didn't invent it. They, they did some development and they bought a bunch of patents from a company that, you know, a little, a little, a little of that.

• 1:51:14Andrew Manganelli?

  All right.

• 1:51:14David Imel?

This is peak waveform. If you didn't know, you learned something.

• 1:51:17Speaker 04

  Yeah, yeah.

• 1:51:18David Imel?

  So.

• 1:51:19Speaker 03

Speaking of which, the Wireless Power Consortium has another standard. Specifically for the inductive charging of kitchen appliances. What's it called?

• 1:51:31Speaker 03

While we're doing that, quick update on the score. Marquez with 14, Andrew with 17, David with 16.

• 1:51:41Speaker 03

Because I had to change the score again because it was also wrong last week, but now it's right. I went back to like, three months.

• 1:51:48Speaker 07

Fun fact, Ben just learned about induction in our kitchen 20 minutes ago because it didn't work for him.

• 1:51:55Speaker 03

He was trying to cook something on like a little stove top thing. All right, what you got?

• 1:51:59David Imel?

I wrote WAPs. WAPs, Wireless Appliance Power Share.

• 1:52:05Speaker 03

No. You know, backwards, that's a word, too.

• 1:52:09David Imel?

  Spa.

• 1:52:15Speaker 07

  What'd you put?

• 1:52:18Speaker 07

  What is that?

• 1:52:20Speaker 07

  No.

• 1:52:22Speaker 07

  Wait, no.

• 1:52:22Speaker 03

  What did you write?

• 1:52:24David Imel?

  Don't do that.

• 1:52:25Speaker 01

I wrote Nintendo Switch 2, my pants.

• 1:52:30David Imel?

  Andrew?

• 1:52:30Andrew Manganelli?

  Fulton charging.

• 1:52:32Speaker 03

  No.

• 1:52:35Speaker 03

  It is key charging, K.I.

• 1:52:36David Imel?

  No way.

• 1:52:37Speaker 03

  Yeah.

• 1:52:38David Imel?

  No way. Are you serious?

• 1:52:40Speaker 01

  Kitchen.

• 1:52:40David Imel?

  She and key?

• 1:52:41Speaker 01

  She and key. That actually...

• 1:52:43David Imel?

  Kitchen induction.

• 1:52:44Speaker 01

That makes way more sense than I was expecting.

• 1:52:47David Imel?

So what does the Q stand for then? And chi?

• 1:52:50Speaker 03

That was originally gonna be my question, and I couldn't find the answer. I just kept seeing chi like the energy source or whatever.

• 1:52:57David Imel?

  Yeah.

• 1:52:58Speaker 03

I couldn't find like if it was an acronym or anything.

• 1:53:00David Imel?

Yeah. Like the thing from traditional Chinese spiritualism.

• 1:53:04Speaker 01

Yeah. Find your chi. I missed the score update while I was guessing. What did you?

• 1:53:08David Imel?

Dude, you're crushing. It's not even close.

• 1:53:10Speaker 01

  I finally got some points.

• 1:53:12David Imel?

  That's true.

• 1:53:12Speaker 03

The score. Marquez with 14. Damn, it's crazy. David with 16. So you're still behind David. And then Andrew with 17.

• 1:53:21Speaker 01

  Wait, really?

• 1:53:21Speaker 03

  Carrying the one.

• 1:53:22Speaker 01

Oh, wow. I'm hot on the tail.

• 1:53:24Speaker 03

  Carrying the one.

• 1:53:25Speaker 01

  Okay.

• 1:53:26David Imel?

  Carrying the one.

• 1:53:27Speaker 01
