This episode of Conan O'Brien Needs a Friend is sponsored by Hershey's. Guys, I'm gonna ask you a question. What better way is there to make summer memories than having smores with Hershey's Milk Chocolate?

• 0:52Speaker 02

None that I can think of.

• 0:52Speaker 01

  There's nothing.

• 0:53Conan O'Brien?

Toasted marshmallows, melted Hershey's chocolate, crunchy graham crackers. The classic taste brings family and friends together for ooey, gooey, good times. And I'm saying that with a straight face.

• 1:03Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 1:04Conan O'Brien?

And a college diploma, ooey, gooey, good times. Make smore memories. See what I did? This summer with Hershey's Milk Chocolate.

• 1:15Speaker 02

Summer Smores with Conan and the Chill Chums. A six-part series with Conan O'Brien, Sonam Mufssesian, and Matt Gourley. Let's get started.

• 1:25Conan O'Brien?

Welcome to the final installment of the 2025 Chill Chums with Conan and the Goo Goo Gang.

• 1:36Conan O'Brien?

I'm talking summer S'mores, weekend chores.

• 1:42Conan O'Brien?

We had a great time. I mean, looking back on everything that happened, what a panoply of fun. Don't you think?

• 1:51Speaker 02

  Wow.

• 1:51Speaker 01

  Okay.

• 1:52Conan O'Brien?

I mean, from the moment I started to get very negative about the conduits.

• 1:57Speaker 01

  Oh, my God.

• 1:58Conan O'Brien?

  That really, I mean...

• 1:59Speaker 02

That was a hell of a way to kick it off.

• 2:01Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 2:02Conan O'Brien?

I was shocked by the amount of electrical wiring that I saw on the back of our, by the way, very small yard.

• 2:10Speaker 01

Yeah, we should talk about it more.

• 2:12Conan O'Brien?

Can I say something? I was envisioning it being much bigger. I thought, because I, maybe this goes back to my Irish roots, but I thought it's gonna be like, ah, it's the old, it's the old estate. And so imagine my surprise. When I'm led back to postage stamp?

• 2:32Speaker 02

  No.

• 2:33Conan O'Brien?

  It's tiny back there.

• 2:34Speaker 01

  It is small.

• 2:35Speaker 02

  It's quaint.

• 2:37Conan O'Brien?

Yeah, it's a little, small little space.

• 2:38Speaker 02

But do you feel different about that conduit now that you see that it's on the other side of that wall? And it's powering all of this majesty?

• 2:44Conan O'Brien?

Yeah, it just makes me wonder why more amazing stuff isn't happening in here. Because it looks like, it looks like a nuclear reactor. I mean, the amount of conduit back there, it looks like something incredible's happening in here. And it's just three schlubs talking.

• 3:00Conan O'Brien?

I mean, I'm sorry, but, you know what I mean? There's no 3D adventure here where we're like floating. Go ahead.

• 3:07Speaker 02

So we can tame Sona's voice.

• 3:08Conan O'Brien?

  Exactly, yes.

• 3:09Speaker 01

  Oh, my God, Eduardo!

• 3:12Speaker 02

  Well, there you go.

• 3:12Conan O'Brien?

  There you go.

• 3:13Speaker 01

  What the fuck?

• 3:14Conan O'Brien?

Jesus. Uh, more, we need more conduit.

• 3:20Conan O'Brien?

  There were some real...

• 3:21Speaker 01

  We had some good times.

• 3:22Conan O'Brien?

There were some real highlights. I mean, first of all, Dr. Arroyo showing up.

• 3:26Speaker 02

  Oh, man.

• 3:27Conan O'Brien?

And, and, you know, you always hope for a guest star, someone big. And I don't, I can't imagine, first of all, I don't know how we got him to get Dr. Arroyo.

• 3:37Speaker 02

I think it's easy to get him. We're just lucky to have him.

• 3:40Conan O'Brien?

  Yeah, exactly.

• 3:41Speaker 02

Wow, God, it's always better with Arroyo.

• 3:43Conan O'Brien?

  He's a, he's great. He's great. He's such a terrible doctor.

• 3:48Speaker 02

And we learned that he's not actually a doctor. It's just his first name is Doctor.

• 3:55Speaker 02

  Doctor Arroyo.

• 4:01Conan O'Brien?

Yeah, he's, uh, he, he's fantastic. And he says a lot about what's happened in the medical profession the last couple of years. It was great having him. Your cocktail was fantastic.

• 4:12Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 4:13Conan O'Brien?

I have to say, you've done yourself, and to watch you craft these cocktails. I mean, it is like watching a mad scientist at work on his greatest formula.

• 4:22Speaker 01

  Willy Wonka.

• 4:23Conan O'Brien?

Yeah, how long ago did you start learning that you could make a cocktail?

• 4:27Speaker 02

Not too long ago. I think when COVID hit and I was depressed, you know?

• 4:33Conan O'Brien?

  You know what helps depression?

• 4:34Speaker 02

  Alcohol.

• 4:35Conan O'Brien?

Yeah, we've all learned that. So, um, and, and are you already thinking about what the cocktail will be next year?

• 4:44Speaker 02

  No.

• 4:44Conan O'Brien?

I bet you've had thoughts already. I could, you seem like the kind of guy to be like, hmm, next year, a little more Negroni. The Coney Negroni.

• 4:52Speaker 02

  Oh, well, got it.

• 4:53Speaker 01

  Coney Negroni.

• 4:55Conan O'Brien?

Yeah, writing it on a piece of paper that will soon be thrown away.

• 4:57Speaker 02

That's true. No, like you, I've been kind of scaling back my drinking, so I haven't thought about it. In fact, I planned this one the day before, and I had to scramble to do it, and I had two different versions, and I was tasting them, and I truly got drunk the day before, and I couldn't tell if what I had made is good or not, because it tasted good because I was drunk.

• 5:15Speaker 01

  It was good.

• 5:16Speaker 02

  Yeah.

• 5:16Speaker 01

I can tell you, it was good.

• 5:18Conan O'Brien?

  But you were drunk, too.

• 5:19Speaker 01

I was. Yes, I was. I got drunk pretty quickly on this one. Chuggy, chuggy, chug, chug.

• 5:25Conan O'Brien?

Okay, let's talk cornhole. I mean...

• 5:27Speaker 01

No, let's not talk cornhole. Cornhole could suck it.

• 5:29Speaker 02

I'd rather talk about conduit than cornhole.

• 5:31Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 5:32Conan O'Brien?

Well, Sona, you got really mad. Why? Why are you so competitive?

• 5:36Speaker 01

You want to know? First of all, I am naturally competitive. I'm fine losing. I hate losing to you.

• 5:42Conan O'Brien?

  Not true.

• 5:43Speaker 01

Yes, I do. I hate losing to you. You get smug. You will bring it up. Like, in three years, you'll bring, like, you'll bring it up.

• 5:50Conan O'Brien?

I have forgotten I even won until I brought it up.

• 5:53Speaker 01

I can see it on your face.

• 5:54Conan O'Brien?

  Nope.

• 5:55Speaker 01

  You're lying. Yes, I can.

• 5:56Conan O'Brien?

No, I have no knowledge of who won that game at this moment. I forgot.

• 5:59Speaker 02

  Oh, okay, then Sona won.

• 6:01Speaker 01

  Yeah, I want to remember.

• 6:01Conan O'Brien?

  Then I'm happy for you.

• 6:02Speaker 01

  No, don't do that.

• 6:03Conan O'Brien?

  I am.

• 6:04Speaker 01

  Don't do that.

• 6:04Conan O'Brien?

If you won, I'm very happy for you. I don't remember. I honestly don't remember who won. These things aren't important to me.

• 6:10Speaker 01

You know exactly what to do to, like, annoy me. You know exactly what to do. You, I, I don't want to talk about that game again.

• 6:17Conan O'Brien?

If you told me I won, then I'm happy that someone won.

• 6:19Speaker 02

Give him a taste of his own medicine. Be mean nonchalant about it. Harness your chill.

• 6:23Speaker 01

  I can't. Yeah, I'm so angry.

• 6:26Conan O'Brien?

  Okay, so...

• 6:27Speaker 02

This is what he wants you to do.

• 6:28Speaker 01

  I know.

• 6:29Conan O'Brien?

Okay, but what, did you go home and relate your lost attack?

• 6:33Speaker 01

  Of course I did.

• 6:34Conan O'Brien?

  And what'd you tell him?

• 6:34Speaker 01

I said, uh, I said, I said you cheated.

• 6:38Conan O'Brien?

  What?

• 6:39Speaker 01

  I lied. I just lied.

• 6:41Conan O'Brien?

How do you cheat, cornhole? You put a magnet in the bag?

• 6:43Speaker 01

  I don't know.

• 6:43Speaker 02

  You did psychological warfare.

• 6:45Speaker 01

You did. I think that what really was upsetting to me was that I started off very strong. I know what happened. I shifted the side I was throwing from. I think about it all the time since it happened.

• 6:55Conan O'Brien?

  You've really thought about this.

• 6:56Speaker 01

I have. I, I started throwing from where you were throwing, and then I shifted to the other side, and that was my undoing.

• 7:02Conan O'Brien?

Your mistake was you were throwing. I was tossing. Tossing's a better way to go.

• 7:06Speaker 01

  Oh, my god.

• 7:07Conan O'Brien?

You know what? I think... I think what made my win impressive, it's coming back to me now. And what a victory it was. What's, what made it so impressive was, and you will back me up on this.

• 7:17Speaker 02

I will not, whatever it is.

• 7:18Conan O'Brien?

Okay, I called it. I called it in great, Eduardo, you were a fan of this because I announced when I was deep, deep in the hole, way behind, I said, here's what's gonna happen, I'm gonna get way behind, but then I'm gonna come surging back and I'm going to win at the last minute, which is exactly what happened, and it reminds me of a tale that, from baseball, that might be one of baseball's greatest moments.

• 7:43Speaker 01

  No.

• 7:43Conan O'Brien?

Babe Ruth called a shot, you know the old famous called shot?

• 7:47Speaker 01

  Not the same.

• 7:48Conan O'Brien?

Babe Ruth pointed with his bat to center field and then proceeded to hit a homerun there, and there's no photograph of it, but there's paintings of it, sketches of it. People have memorialized this as one of the greatest moments in American sports history. I, I think I did what Babe Ruth did, I called my shot. It was beanbag, it was cornhole, maybe not as grand.

• 8:08Speaker 01

How, you know what, Pixar, it didn't happen. If it, if it did happen, someone should have taken a picture. You shut the fuck up, Matt.

• 8:18Speaker 02

I'm just trying to help you so you don't dig too deep.

• 8:20Speaker 01

I'm just saying, I'm talking about the Babe Ruth moment.

• 8:22Speaker 02

  Okay, I'm sorry, okay.

• 8:22Speaker 01

The Babe Ruth moment, it's been like memorialized in paintings, conveniently, there's no photo of it.

• 8:29Conan O'Brien?

But we have video of me destroying you.

• 8:32Speaker 01

It's not destroying, you didn't destroy me. I think, I think the thing is, I lost focus.

• 8:37Conan O'Brien?

Kelly, you're trying to be a hype man, you didn't. You didn't.

• 8:41Speaker 01

I lost focus, I really do hate losing.

• 8:44Conan O'Brien?

Yeah, that's how people lose in sports. That's called losing.

• 8:48Speaker 01

This is why I hate it. This is the thing though, you, you act, you. I could have won, but I lost focus. You. Where's my lost? Focus metal.

• 8:59Speaker 02

You know what diminishes your victory is your sportsmanship.

• 9:02Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 9:03Speaker 02

  It's non-existent.

• 9:03Speaker 01

You act like you don't care, but you really want to win.

• 9:06Conan O'Brien?

  Yes, of course I do.

• 9:07Speaker 01

  Okay, alright.

• 9:08Conan O'Brien?

And also, I think the listener, the fan, when I'm putting on a show with my

• 9:17Conan O'Brien?

they, they want to see me pull it out. Do you know, they, they want to see.

• 9:21Speaker 02

  I disagree.

• 9:21Conan O'Brien?

  No, no.

• 9:22Speaker 02

I think, I think at least Sona owns her desire to win and this affectation of you saying like, I could take it or leave it. I'm just coasting above it all.

• 9:31Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 9:31Speaker 02

Above the fray. It's, it's, I'm not buying it.

• 9:33Speaker 01

I'm not buying it either because I know, I know you and I know how, how like happy you were that you won. And it's just upsets me that I brought you a level of happiness.

• 9:42Speaker 02

A different person after you won. Truly. Even after the recording, you were like talking to the trash cans at one point. Do you see that? Do you see that?

• 9:51Conan O'Brien?

I, um, I have so much else in my life. My friendship with Timothy Olyphant.

• 9:57Speaker 01

  Okay.

• 9:57Conan O'Brien?

I have, um, you know, we're pals.

• 10:00Speaker 02

I have my imaginary friendship with Timothy Olyphant.

• 10:04Conan O'Brien?

You know, I have my accomplishments. Uh, and so I didn't need, that's the great thing is I didn't need that cornhole win. But when it happened, I, I felt like I had risen to another level.

• 10:20Conan O'Brien?

  You know?

• 10:21Speaker 01

  I hate this.

• 10:22Speaker 02

  We need a rematch.

• 10:23Speaker 01

Yes, I'm down for a rematch.

• 10:25Speaker 02

  Yeah.

• 10:26Conan O'Brien?

The phrase sore winner comes to mind.

• 10:27Speaker 01

Yeah. But also very sore loser. And I think that that's what I'm saying is I'm, I'm down for a rematch. And I'm gonna, I'm gonna train.

• 10:36Speaker 02

  Yes, train.

• 10:37Speaker 01

I'm gonna rocky it up. You're my Apollo Creed. You're Drago?

• 10:43Speaker 02

  Ivan Drago?

• 10:43Speaker 01

Ivan Drago? You're that guy. I'm the good guy, you're the bad guy. You're the bad guy.

• 10:48Speaker 02

  Yeah.

• 10:48Speaker 01

You're the Soviet. I'm gonna fuck you up.

• 10:51Speaker 02

Yeah, there you go. There you go.

• 10:52Conan O'Brien?

  And I'm your Mickey rock.

• 10:56Conan O'Brien?

I think in a, in a world where Putin is in charge in Russia, maybe there's a yearning for the old, good old days of Drago.

• 11:06Speaker 02

  Yeah, as a villain.

• 11:07Conan O'Brien?

Yeah, Drago's now the good guy. Because they're like, you know.

• 11:13Speaker 02

  Oh my god.

• 11:14Conan O'Brien?

Drago you could deal with. Do you know what I mean? There's not one scene where Drago invades the Ukraine. You know, and tries to take territory that isn't his.

• 11:22Speaker 02

We have to do this, and, and there's a training montage where you have all the technology and all the systems.

• 11:27Conan O'Brien?

My wrist is being injected with various chemicals. And Russian scientists are monitoring me.

• 11:32Speaker 02

You have actual dried beans in a sack and you're just flexing with them. In a meat locker.

• 11:37Conan O'Brien?

Hey, can I go off on a tangent here for a second? He said, knowing he could.

• 11:42Conan O'Brien?

Why is it? This always amazed me that if you watch all the Rocky movies, as I have. In the arc, unlike, you know, the 15th Rocky film, he loses all his money, okay? And his only choice is to be the greeter in a small Italian restaurant in the old neighborhood. He lives in the apartment that he's in in the first movie. And there's no acknowledgement ever that he is the greatest sports figure.

• 12:08Speaker 02

He could be at conventions signing autographs.

• 12:10Conan O'Brien?

I mean, he could, without even leaving his house, if he just answered his phone, he'd get paid a hundred. Because he just single-handedly brought down the, the Berlin Wall, you know? He, he's won, he's had come from behind victories. He's the most celebrated in, in that universe. He's the most celebrated figure. He's done the most incredible things. It would be like saying if, wow, jeez, did you hear what happened? No, Michael Jordan, I guess he had a crooked business manager and all the money's gone. Where is he now? Uh, he's at a Dave and Buster's. He's over by the bin of balls and he's, you know, yeah, and he's telling the kids, like, take it easy. You can't jump in till that one comes out.

• 12:55Conan O'Brien?

Yeah, I guess that makes sense. No, no, Michael Jordan signs one sneaker for, you know, the ghost of Steve Jobs and gets $150 million a pop.

• 13:08Conan O'Brien?

So am I wrong? I'm sorry, I'm taking away from some of the magic of what was a wonderful time. I'm shifting the focus to a new one, which is, I don't understand why Rocky's working in that restaurant.

• 13:18Speaker 02

Do you remember he was also living with a robot in one of the movies?

• 13:20Conan O'Brien?

Yes. I remember that, but beady, beady, beady.

• 13:23Speaker 02

  No, that's Twiggy.

• 13:26Conan O'Brien?

  Is that from Buck Rogers?

• 13:27Speaker 02

  Yes.

• 13:28Conan O'Brien?

  Boy Spy?

• 13:29Speaker 02

  Oh, Mel Blanc.

• 13:30Conan O'Brien?

There you go. It's just Mel Blank, he's not Burr Blanc.

• 13:33Speaker 02

  I'm so-

• 13:33Conan O'Brien?

  You went Mel Blanc!

• 13:34Speaker 02

  My god, oh my god!

• 13:36Conan O'Brien?

  What pairs well-

• 13:37Speaker 02

Do you remember also in the summer S'mores how pissed off he got about the trivia?

• 13:40Conan O'Brien?

What pairs well? What pairs well with the fish? I would try the Mel Blanc. Who's the voice of Bugs Bunny?

• 13:48Speaker 02

Oh my god. Oh my god.

• 13:51Speaker 01

  Oh my god.

• 13:53Speaker 02

  You're such a fucking twit.

• 13:55Conan O'Brien?

Hey, look! I'm Data from Star Trek.

• 13:58Speaker 02

  Oh my god!

• 14:06Conan O'Brien?

It's campfire season and LL Bean is helping people of all ages get outside. You know, I gotta tell you, when I'm outside, I'm a happy guy.

• 14:14Speaker 02

  Me too.

• 14:14Speaker 01

  Me too, I love it.

• 14:15Conan O'Brien?

A night around the campfire is nothing without versatile gear. You gotta have versatile gear.

• 14:19Speaker 02

  You do.

• 14:19Conan O'Brien?

And you know, LL Bean Easy Comfort Camp Chair Max. Designed with a wider, deeper, and taller seat for maximum comfort and support. I need that taller seat.

  You do, you do.

• 14:28Conan O'Brien?

Don't risk any hangry kids or adults. Pack the car with the Adventure Cooler Tote. It's lightweight, it's insulated, it has an impressive capacity, okay? Holds up to, can you guess, Sona?

• 14:41Speaker 01

  I'm gonna say 36 12-ounce cans?

• 14:44Conan O'Brien?

You know what? You're not wrong.

• 14:45Speaker 01

  Uh huh.

• 14:45Speaker 02

And I'm gonna guess it'd be cold for up to 50 hours with ice?

• 14:48Conan O'Brien?

Yes. You guys think you're joking around?

• 14:51Speaker 02

  Uh huh.

• 14:52Conan O'Brien?

You both nailed it. When I'm out there camping with my buddies.

• 14:55Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 14:56Conan O'Brien?

I'm out there with Rodman and Greg Daniels and Rob Lesebnik.

• 15:00Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 15:00Conan O'Brien?

  And we're just-

• 15:01Speaker 01

You guys are just roughing it?

• 15:02Conan O'Brien?

No, we're very close to a restaurant.

• 15:04Speaker 01

  Oh.

• 15:05Conan O'Brien?

We're in the parking lot of a very nice restaurant. But, um, we've got our LL Bean stuff. We've got, you know, I've got my Adventure Tote Cooler, my LL Bean Easy Comfort Camp Chair Max. • 15:30Conan O'Brien?

And now a shout out to Hershey's and a huge thanks to them for sponsoring Summer Smores. I was very psyched when I heard Hershey's was on board.

• 15:36Speaker 01

  Same, me too.

• 15:37Conan O'Brien?

Yeah, because I gotta tell ya, I've been eating Hershey's Milk Chocolates since I was a little kid.

• 15:41Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 15:42Conan O'Brien?

I was like, "Give me that milk chocolate." And they'd say, "Okay," and I'd say, "Is it Hershey's?" And "Bada baa, I'll kill ya." I was a mean little kid.

• 15:49Speaker 01

  Oh my god!

• 15:50Conan O'Brien?

Yeah, I really insisted it be Hershey's. Now you can s'more like never before with new Hershey's Milk Chocolate with Caramel! What do you, what's the verdict?

• 15:56Speaker 02

Oh my god, it's truly scrumptious.

• 16:18Speaker 02

  Oh my god.

• 16:19Conan O'Brien?

Very good, it's very good. You know what? Why didn't they think of this before?

• 16:23Speaker 02

  I know.

• 16:23Conan O'Brien?

If I was at Hershey's, I'd be firing people for not thinking of this 10 years ago.

• 16:27Speaker 01

  Oh.

• 16:27Conan O'Brien?

Anyway, try Hershey's Milk Chocolate with Caramel today's s'more more.

• 16:36Conan O'Brien?

Anyway. If you think I'm a monster in this final episode, that's what these Chill Chums do to me. They wind me up.

• 16:44Speaker 02

  And now it's our fault.

• 16:45Speaker 01

  Yeah, it's our fault.

• 16:46Conan O'Brien?

And this is what's gonna be happening next year. This is the tip of the iceberg of the new Conan. Cause the Conan that comes to the next Chill Chums is gonna be an absolute monster.

• 16:55Speaker 02

Are we gonna just do like Olympic Games, all these different games?

• 16:59Conan O'Brien?

  We should.

• 16:59Speaker 02

Just like Battle of the Network Stars?

• 17:01Conan O'Brien?

Yes, yes, well, I'll run a race against Gabe Kaplan. But now, but now.

• 17:05Speaker 02

  Excuse me, it's Gabe Kaplan.

• 17:07Conan O'Brien?

Yeah, Gabe Kaplan. I'll have a Gabe Kaplan and I'll have a...

• 17:10Speaker 02

Pardon me, is that, do you have any Gabe Kaplan?

• 17:12Conan O'Brien?

Do you have any Mel Blanc by the glass?

• 17:15Speaker 02

  But of course.

• 17:16Conan O'Brien?

But of course we do here. It's Cafe Mispronounced.

• 17:20Speaker 02

You know, can I say something?

• 17:22Conan O'Brien?

You, of course, you know you can.

• 17:23Speaker 02

Way back in the first episode of this series, Blay, you teased something that we also did the year before and I think it's important that we cover this. You got a new medieval Renaissance weapon.

• 17:32Conan O'Brien?

Yeah, you never brought that out. What happened? Did you bring it to the set and then never use it?

• 17:36Speaker 03

I felt like there was a lot of tension between you and Sona. We didn't need any more, like, any actual weapons on set.

• 17:41Conan O'Brien?

Did you just forget, though? I mean, it's unusual for you to bring a dorky weapon and not show it.

• 17:47Speaker 02

Jesus Christ, man. Oh my god. I can't wait for the war crimes trial where we all present our evidence.

• 17:55Speaker 03

  I just love it.

• 17:56Conan O'Brien?

  Who drives home?

• 17:57Speaker 02

  I like this guy.

• 17:58Conan O'Brien?

Look at, who drives home at the end of the night and looks in the backseat of their car and sees a broad axe? And goes, "Darn it!" And forgot to wield it.

• 18:09Speaker 03

Why am I catching strength just shooting? At any point, he just got a machine gun.

• 18:14Conan O'Brien?

You didn't, you, you, you said you were gonna bring one of your weapons and you brought it? But never brought it out?

• 18:22Speaker 03

Yeah, well, there's a lot going on.

• 18:23Conan O'Brien?

What was that like when you got home? And you're unpacking stuff?

• 18:27Speaker 02

  Did you apologize to it?

• 18:28Conan O'Brien?

And you have, you have your cooler and you move it and there it is.

• 18:32Speaker 03

I, that is kind of what happened. I was like...

• 18:35Conan O'Brien?

The scythe from, from Sword of Gildar.

• 18:38Speaker 03

I was unpacking my car, yes, and I was like, oh, that's right. Like, yeah, this year...

• 18:42Conan O'Brien?

  So what was it?

• 18:43Speaker 03

Uh, well, I have it here. This year, I...

• 18:45Conan O'Brien?

  Of course you do.

• 18:45Speaker 01

You just have it with you?

• 18:47Speaker 03

Well, I left it at the office because just in case we needed it.

• 18:49Conan O'Brien?

So what, what's it? What is it?

• 18:51Speaker 03

Well, so this year, last year I got a big sword. Uh, it was like, you know, a four foot, and I wanted something smaller because I didn't really use it at all in this past year because it was so big.

• 18:59Conan O'Brien?

You didn't use the fantasy sword as much as you thought you would?

• 19:02Speaker 01

Why did you think you would use it? Why would you use it though?

• 19:06Speaker 03

It's two-handed. It's, you know, it's hard, it's a whole thing to get out. It's like very big, so I didn't use it as much as I wanted.

• 19:12Conan O'Brien?

Is it on your to-do, what a sad to-do list. To-do, milk, orange, wheels, magical sword. Wielded fake magical sword.

• 19:21Speaker 02

Oh, I'm sad you didn't get your bucket list checked off.

• 19:24Speaker 03

Anyway, anyway, so I wanted something kind of smaller and more useful, so I got a, uh, I got this axe.

• 19:30Speaker 01

  Oh my god!

• 19:31Speaker 03

Yeah, it's really sharp, so be careful of it.

• 19:34Conan O'Brien?

It just looks like an Irish musical instrument.

• 19:36Speaker 03

  Yeah, it's a big...

• 19:36Speaker 02

This looks like a Guinness harp.

• 19:37Speaker 03

  It's a big, but yeah, it's, oh, it's great.

• 19:39Conan O'Brien?

Now, tell me what this is.

• 19:40Speaker 03

  Oh, it's a big, I don't really know. It's a, just a really sharp, big...

• 19:43Conan O'Brien?

  Where did you get it?

• 19:43Speaker 03

I got the Renaissance fair. I went to the...

• 19:46Conan O'Brien?

So you went to a Renaissance fair?

• 19:48Speaker 03

  I dressed up.

• 19:49Speaker 01

  A costume you were wearing?

• 19:50Speaker 03

I did, yeah, I did. And, and, uh, and this year I learned, I don't even know, why am I?

• 19:55Conan O'Brien?

  And this time I went.

• 19:56Speaker 03

Telling you this, I brought an empty holster because I, last year I had to carry around the sword. It was really awkward.

• 20:03Conan O'Brien?

So you brought a holster for a sword you thought you might buy?

• 20:06Speaker 03

  That's right.

• 20:07Conan O'Brien?

That's the worst. I hate that. I hate that when you have a holster.

• 20:10Speaker 03

Yeah, and so I had an empty holster, so and this fit perfect.

• 20:13Conan O'Brien?

  It's a sheath, I think.

• 20:13Speaker 03

Yeah, well, no, I had a holster because I was like, oh, I'm gonna, I don't want to buy another big sword. I want to buy something smaller, like a dagger. But then I saw this baby and I was like, oh, this thing is.

• 20:21Conan O'Brien?

  This is incredible.

• 20:22Speaker 03

Yeah, and I was, you know, also, I will, I will say, I will say, I will say, uh.

• 20:27Conan O'Brien?

No one's interrupting you. You're just, you're, you're pausing because you realize where you're going is sad.

• 20:32Speaker 03

Yeah, it is kind of sad. Well, I will say, I, I will.

• 20:36Conan O'Brien?

Could someone please let me finish? We're letting you finish. I don't want to say it.

• 20:40Speaker 03

Well, uh, I could, I was thinking, after I bought, I could use that to cut a pizza.

• 20:46Speaker 01

  What? Why? What?

• 20:48Speaker 03

Well, I'm just saying, because you know, the sword doesn't have a lot of.

• 20:51Speaker 02

  A pizza cutter.

• 20:52Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 20:53Speaker 03

It doesn't have a lot of practical applications, and I was just saying.

• 20:55Speaker 01

  No, it doesn't, though.

• 20:56Speaker 03

I didn't really use my sword last year, and so I was like, well, I could, I'll be able to.

• 21:00Speaker 02

That would be pretty badass if you had a dinner party and you brought a pizza and you just went.

• 21:04Speaker 03

Yeah, thank you. There we go. Look at that.

• 21:06Speaker 01

No, I don't know if badass is the word.

• 21:08Conan O'Brien?

I am Zagar. I shall turn this pie into six slices.

• 21:13Speaker 02

You're making my case for me.

• 21:14Speaker 03

So, um, yeah, so I got.

• 21:16Conan O'Brien?

All right, so you finally got to show it. That's great.

• 21:18Speaker 03

Thanks, thank, thank you for letting me, uh, show it off.

• 21:20Conan O'Brien?

Well, I didn't let you, and I didn't know you had it in the room. Thought we were just gonna talk about it, but of course you have it. Uh, where do you keep all this shit in your house? I mean, I imagine it's a, not a huge apartment.

• 21:31Speaker 03

It's not, actually, do you want to know the, the truth?

• 21:34Conan O'Brien?

Well, I asked you, so I'm expecting the truth.

• 21:36Speaker 03

I have, this is, oh, man, fuck, this is so sad. And, well, I think it's cool, I have a weapon corner that I just lean everything up against.

• 21:43Speaker 02

You own, own it, go for it, don't apologize.

• 21:45Speaker 03

Okay, yes, I have a weapon corner, so I have.

• 21:47Conan O'Brien?

  You should apologize.

• 21:49Speaker 03

  I have a couple, I have a couple swords, I got this, I got a flamethrower, I got a.

• 21:53Conan O'Brien?

Do you really have a flamethrower?

• 21:54Speaker 03

  I do, yeah.

• 21:55Conan O'Brien?

  You're an asshole.

• 21:56Speaker 02

Why do you, what kind of?

• 21:58Speaker 03

My friends gave it to me. We had a thing where we gave each other weapons. And then I have one of the spiked balls and chain.

• 22:04Speaker 02

  A mace?

• 22:05Speaker 03

I got the ama- no, a mace, I think is like a club. I think that's like a morning star or something. But, uh, but that, and then I also have a-

• 22:12Conan O'Brien?

  We're losing listeners right now.

• 22:14Speaker 03

Knife, uh, I think it's from Cobra or from another movie. It's like, uh, it's like a big crazy-

• 22:19Speaker 02

That's the Cobra knife that the villain has.

• 22:21Speaker 03

Yeah, wavy knife and then it's got a spiked-

• 22:23Speaker 02

  Yeah.

• 22:24Speaker 03

Handle. Yeah. So I got, I got all that stuff. It's just kind of just a one corner.

• 22:28Conan O'Brien?

Throwback when Greg Daniels and I were writing together on our first TV show, not so the news. We went to our offices. We were working there for like three days at Sunset Gara Studios. This is 1985 when this package arrived that they sent back to our office. And we used to get like weird promotional things. And I guess for some reason, because we were a TV show, we got a promotional package. They thought maybe we would mention it. And here I am mentioning it 70 years later.

• 23:03Speaker 02

  It worked.

• 23:03Conan O'Brien?

Oh my god. And it was a promotional package from Cobra, the movie Cobra.

• 23:09Speaker 02

  Oh my god.

• 23:10Conan O'Brien?

And, and it was all these pictures and like a couple of memorabilia, little thingies from the movie Cobra. We were just looking at it and it's like, this is gonna be Sylvester Stallone's next franchise. He plays, what's his name?

• 23:23Speaker 02

  Marion Cobretti.

• 23:24Conan O'Brien?

Marion Cobretti. You're like, his name? You know, you have to justify, this is sting operation.

• 23:30Speaker 02

  He cuts pizza with scissors.

• 23:31Conan O'Brien?

Yeah. But no, and it was, and then Greg and I went and we decided we gotta go see Cobra.

• 23:37Speaker 02

  Yeah.

• 23:37Conan O'Brien?

And I don't know if you remember, but it's, I know. Do you? He was a producer on it. He was three years old.

• 23:44Speaker 02

Do you know the story that-

• 23:45Conan O'Brien?

But you know what's crazy? It's Cobra against a cult.

• 23:49Speaker 02

  Yeah.

• 23:49Conan O'Brien?

And it's people from all walks of life who meet-

• 23:52Speaker 02

  Business people.

• 23:53Conan O'Brien?

Yeah, business people and bakers and, and people that sell orthotics all meet in a basement and clang weapons together.

• 24:00Speaker 02

  Clang axes in spotlights.

• 24:01Conan O'Brien?

  In spotlight.

• 24:02Speaker 02

  Chains and-

• 24:03Conan O'Brien?

  Yeah.

• 24:03Speaker 02

Do you know the story of that is that Sylvester Stallone was originally gonna do- Beverly Hills Cop. And he retooled it so much that they eventually went, no, you can't, you can't do this anymore. They gave it to Eddie Murphy and he took his version and that's what Cobra is.

• 24:17Speaker 01

  Oh.

• 24:18Speaker 02

Yeah. And that's Matt's movie corner. I have more fun facts. And if you could just open up a corner of your apartment for me.

• 24:24Speaker 03

  Yeah, dude.

• 24:26Conan O'Brien?

But anyway, that was my, when you mentioned Cobra, I thought, wait a minute. I have a visceral memory of opening a box. Oh, a lot of photographs from the set and a press packet of who Marion Corbretti was. And what his, you know, what his character is. And then I, there might've been like a plastic knife in there or something. I don't know, but I remember Greg and I thinking, wow, I guess this is gonna be the new thing. You know, Cobra. And, uh, nope, it wasn't.

• 24:52Speaker 01

  No.

• 24:53Speaker 02

Too bad though, huh? We missed that one.

• 24:55Speaker 01

  Is it too bad?

• 24:55Speaker 02

  God, I love movies.

• 24:57Speaker 01

  You do?

• 24:57Conan O'Brien?

All right, so anyway, we got off on a tangent and I have to, I have to bring it home, which is Chill Chums isn't about a place. It's about a state of mind. And it isn't about whether it's in the yard. It isn't about whether it's anywhere in the Los Angeles area or if it's on a private island. Uh, it's not about that. It's whenever we get together and we decide to be Chill Chums and get the old smores out. It creates a special magic. It's a special bond. Uh, it's a tie-in for various companies. You wanna advertise?

• 25:31Conan O'Brien?

It's, uh, I'm told it's something called Fan Service by Adam, who says it in a very cold voice. Fan service.

• 25:39Speaker 02

  That's true.

• 25:40Conan O'Brien?

Yeah. Fan service. Uh, so it was a joy. It was a real joy. I wanna thank you both. I had a great experience.

• 25:46Speaker 01

  Me too.

• 25:47Conan O'Brien?

And, uh, I loved it. It's a lot of fun and I'm looking forward to, uh, next year when we do it all again. Who knows where and who knows why.

• 25:54Speaker 02

And all the people that helped with this too.

• 25:57Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 25:57Speaker 02

And two of the big ones are in this room too, cause Blade does so much work.

• 26:01Conan O'Brien?

Blade does a lot. I mean, Tanisha works hard.

• 26:04Speaker 02

  He engineers the whole thing.

• 26:06Conan O'Brien?

  Leonardo, um.

• 26:07Speaker 02

  Dr. Arroyo, thank you.

• 26:09Speaker 03

  Oh, definitely.

• 26:10Conan O'Brien?

But also, I mean, Ruthie, Sam, Rachel. Yeah, I mean, all these people work so hard. They do a great job. We love them.

• 26:17Speaker 01

  Yep.

• 26:17Conan O'Brien?

We're a family here. And by family, I mean, everyone's paid.

• 26:21Speaker 02

  And doesn't like each other.

• 26:22Conan O'Brien?

Yeah. Um, and makes fun of me behind my back, uh, so, and in front of my face. Um, this was really nice. It was really fun. So I hope you enjoyed it as much as we enjoyed doing it.

• 26:32Speaker 01

  I love. Chill Trumps.

• 26:35Conan O'Brien?

Wow. You really, you thought for a long time and you came up with a great ender. Thank you, Sona.

• 26:40Speaker 01

  I love Summer S'mores.

• 26:41Conan O'Brien?

  Yeah, that's, that's good.

• 26:42Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 26:43Conan O'Brien?

Okay, Sona, well, from all of us to all of you, thank you very much. I hope you had a great summer and we'll see you soon.

• 26:49Speaker 02

  Rematch 2026 for Sona.

• 26:51Speaker 01

  Yeah.
