The following podcast is a Dear Media production.

• 0:04Benito Skinner?

  I'm Benito Skinner.

• 0:05Mary Beth Barone?

  I'm Mary Beth Brown.

• 0:06Benito Skinner?

  And this.

• 0:07Mary Beth Barone?

  Is.

• 0:08Benito Skinner?

  Ride.

• 0:13Benito Skinner?

My tongue is sacred. I speak upon what I like. Protected, sexy, discerning with my time. Your energy is yours and mine is mine. What's mine is mine. My face is sitting. I don't need no disguises. Don't comment on my body. Do not reply. Your business is yours and mine is mine.

• 0:38Benito Skinner?

Why do you care so much whose dick I write?

• 0:42Benito Skinner?

  Why?

• 0:44Benito Skinner?

  Let's begin.

• 0:45Mary Beth Barone?

Do you want to give attribution of that quote?

• 0:47Benito Skinner?

So that's Ariana Grande, "Yes, and" as Nina Drama. And God, it's good to be back.

• 0:52Mary Beth Barone?

  Wow.

• 0:52Benito Skinner?

Why do you care so much whose dick I write? And then, why?

• 0:57Mary Beth Barone?

  But.

• 0:58Benito Skinner?

No, she's like, she, in that moment, she's asking the listener, like.

• 1:02Mary Beth Barone?

  Why?

• 1:03Benito Skinner?

  Why? Like, think about it.

• 1:04Mary Beth Barone?

I've heard that song so many times and I, I just never clocked that that was what was being said.

• 1:10Benito Skinner?

  Oh, the.

• 1:11Mary Beth Barone?

  Just all of it.

• 1:12Benito Skinner?

Yeah, the full monologue that she includes.

• 1:14Mary Beth Barone?

  The whole thing, yeah.

• 1:14Benito Skinner?

Well, it's how I got the part of Benny in "Overcompensating."

• 1:17Mary Beth Barone?

I know, you perform that as a dramatic monologue.

• 1:19Benito Skinner?

The first little, oh yeah, we just shot a TV show, so that just happened.

• 1:23Mary Beth Barone?

  10 seconds in.

• 1:25Benito Skinner?

  God, I mean.

• 1:27Mary Beth Barone?

We wrapped four days ago on "Overcompensating." We have not done the pod in a while. It's good to be back. We've upped production value slightly.

• 1:35Benito Skinner?

  Check the sign.

• 1:36Mary Beth Barone?

Thank you, Peely, who did, production designer, I should say, for Galaxy Brain as well. We're keeping her booked and busy, which, by the way, July 28th.

• 1:45Benito Skinner?

I think this episode should just be plugs.

• 1:47Mary Beth Barone?

It's just plugs. Well, I do want to plug that I'm hosting a pool party at Bath House in Williamsburg. It will have already been announced by now. It's small capacity, so if you're there, we can't wait to see you. And then I'm hosting a thing called the Galaxy Brain Ball. It's a dance party on July 31st. And maybe there will still be tickets available. Who knows?

• 2:07Benito Skinner?

Let's just say I'm not going as Benny Drama that night.

• 2:12Mary Beth Barone?

There's going to be a special guest appearance.

• 2:15Benito Skinner?

  Yes.

• 2:15Mary Beth Barone?

  You never thought you'd see.

• 2:17Benito Skinner?

  But what's better than one?

• 2:19Mary Beth Barone?

  Two.

• 2:21Benito Skinner?

This is season four, kid. I mean, we've really done a lot of this.

• 2:25Mary Beth Barone?

We've done a lot. It's season four. New logo, new neon sign, new cover art. Same, Dear Media.

• 2:33Benito Skinner?

  Come on, Dear Media.

• 2:35Mary Beth Barone?

We can finally speak about this. We are breaking the silence.

• 2:38Benito Skinner?

  I guess we can.

• 2:39Mary Beth Barone?

We actually can, because nothing we're about to say isn't public information. Obviously, we have some pretty substantial political differences with the people that own this podcast network, and they have never tried to censor us. We have always been able to say what we want to say, and we just want to acknowledge that it might be a little confusing at times. When we started, it was a bit of a different situation.

• 3:04Benito Skinner?

The crazy thing about a contract is it is a contract, and I always forget that.

• 3:09Mary Beth Barone?

We have forgotten that a few times.

• 3:11Benito Skinner?

Oh, it's happened to me like thrice. You know, I almost got sued by it. We'll bleep it.

• 3:15Mary Beth Barone?

I know. And the thing is, sometimes you can get out of a contract, and that makes you think that you can get out of anyone that you want, but the truth is, you actually really can't.

• 3:24Benito Skinner?

You can't. And yeah, I mean, like, I think that they've been a great partner as far as this podcast is concerned, like, just on the business side of things. But I think the unfortunate thing is that sometimes you sign a contract and you don't know all affiliations when you do, and those come into the light, which is unfortunate.

• 3:45Mary Beth Barone?

Everyone we work with directly at Dear Media is lovely, and we love all the girls in. Of course, we love Jackson.

• 3:52Benito Skinner?

  Jackson, a raging Republican.

• 3:54Mary Beth Barone?

  Jackson's a gay Republican.

• 3:55Benito Skinner?

  He said, "Maha, mama."

• 3:57Mary Beth Barone?

He is, he's actually an Australian refugee. He moved to the States as a gay Republican with refugee status.

• 4:04Benito Skinner?

Well, and he's coming out with t-shirts that say, "Maha, mama." Isn't that cool?

• 4:09Mary Beth Barone?

  Yeah, by Jackson.

• 4:10Benito Skinner?

  Yeah.

• 4:11Mary Beth Barone?

  Which is really cool.

• 4:12Benito Skinner?

My thing with maha is, it's like, okay, die, I guess.

• 4:15Mary Beth Barone?

Yeah, or like, whatever. Is that the goal?

• 4:18Benito Skinner?

If you want measles, like, go all the way off, sis.

• 4:20Mary Beth Barone?

Totally. I wish that they could maybe, like, quarantine themselves just to not endanger... Like, there are people that can't get vaccines because they have pre-existing conditions or things such as that. So then, if, like, maha people don't vaccinate their kids, it puts those kids at risk, and that's why there is a measles outbreak in America.

• 4:39Benito Skinner?

  Didn't you fuckers miss us?

• 4:41Mary Beth Barone?

  Yeah.

• 4:41Benito Skinner?

  Because I should have did.

• 4:42Mary Beth Barone?

This is how we're kicking things off.

• 4:44Benito Skinner?

It's feeling hot. Everything was addressed on the Reddit. And, uh, sorry. The one thing I do have to tell you is that this was brought to my attention that people think that the person who posted wasn't you.

• 4:54Mary Beth Barone?

  Wasn't me, I know.

• 4:56Benito Skinner?

Can you please share that it was?

• 4:57Mary Beth Barone?

It was me. I also, I, I messaged directly with the moderator to confirm my identity.

• 5:01Benito Skinner?

  Yes.

• 5:02Mary Beth Barone?

I haven't had access to Reddit pretty much since March. And I went back on there to post that. And then I am not able to access it anymore.

• 5:11Benito Skinner?

I'll, I'll share one thing on there that did make me laugh was that someone indicated, this was shared to me by my lovely assistant, Cecilia, who I miss desperately. She's my assistant on set. Cecilia, if you're listening, I hope you are, my darling girl. I miss you every minute of every day. The cashew butter me and that girl went through. I mean, you can't even imagine.

• 5:30Mary Beth Barone?

  I, I can imagine.

• 5:32Benito Skinner?

  The Nutbar that we had.

• 5:33Mary Beth Barone?

  Yeah.

• 5:34Benito Skinner?

Nutbar, huge shout out to Nutbar. Just absolutely adore you.

• 5:37Mary Beth Barone?

  Nutbar Yorkville.

• 5:37Benito Skinner?

Someone said that they knew someone who had confirmed that you had a huge, um, part in a big change in my life.

• 5:46Mary Beth Barone?

  Oh, yeah.

• 5:46Benito Skinner?

And I, I had to laugh.

• 5:49Mary Beth Barone?

I would like to say, so here's what's, here's what's a bummer about losing the Reddit is that I genuinely enjoyed going on there.

• 5:55Benito Skinner?

I know. And then it just. The memes were so funny.

• 5:56Mary Beth Barone?

I know. And the posts of what is Blue More Planet. I mean, I don't have any tattoos, but if I did get one, it might say Blue More Planet.

• 6:05Benito Skinner?

Of what I've gathered from it, I could say that context clues could be huge and I will ride for it at some point, but I think context clues could lead a lot of people to the truth and to kind of how we feel about certain things.

• 6:15Mary Beth Barone?

  Yeah.

• 6:16Benito Skinner?

But other than that, I think have fun on there. It's not for us to see. It's very much kids' sleepover.

• 6:21Mary Beth Barone?

  It's your playground now.

• 6:22Benito Skinner?

Unless you're coming from my mama.

• 6:23Mary Beth Barone?

  Well, and here's.

• 6:24Benito Skinner?

They tried to cancel my wife.

• 6:28Benito Skinner?

Me on there, keep my wife's name.

• 6:31Mary Beth Barone?

The thing is, I've been predicting this for a really long time.

• 6:34Benito Skinner?

  I know.

• 6:34Mary Beth Barone?

Now, I will say, props to you guys, very creative to get mad at me for something I, I didn't personally do.

• 6:40Benito Skinner?

  No, totally.

• 6:41Mary Beth Barone?

But look, I, I understand confusion, disappointment, things like that. I have spoken on it, my explanation, it wouldn't be enough for some people. For those of you that defended me, thank you so much. I don't think posting on there changed anyone's mind who was mad at me, but I think people who were on my side were even more so on my side.

• 6:57Benito Skinner?

  They saw you.

• 6:58Mary Beth Barone?

And those are the people that, that I want to connect with is the people that see me for who I am. And I'm imperfect.

• 7:06Benito Skinner?

I wonder, I, I watched this happen with a lot of people, um. On the internet where it's-

• 7:11Mary Beth Barone?

They're called women, you can say it.

• 7:12Benito Skinner?

Oh fuck, okay, women, uh, sorry. I'm hard all of a sudden.

• 7:17Mary Beth Barone?

  Mm-hmm.

• 7:18Benito Skinner?

Because you guys are getting punished the way you should be.

• 7:20Mary Beth Barone?

  Exactly.

• 7:21Benito Skinner?

No, I think that I, I watch it happen and I think it's something weird. We just, yeah, it's the, it's the classic cycle.

• 7:29Mary Beth Barone?

  Oh, also-

• 7:29Benito Skinner?

You build them up, you take them down.

• 7:31Mary Beth Barone?

  Take them-

• 7:31Benito Skinner?

Like Jennifer Lawrence when she talked about pizza too many times on a Hunger Games press tour and then we decided we had to kill her, unfortunately. We've decided to not look like dog shit today. I think it's important to note.

• 7:42Mary Beth Barone?

It's totally a new era for us. We might later in the season.

• 7:45Benito Skinner?

  Oh.

• 7:46Mary Beth Barone?

Let's just, I think it's fun to watch last season, like the, how we devolved throughout the season of like, it was winter, we were exhausted, we were in the writers' room, we were working on, I was touring, like, it was crazy.

• 8:00Benito Skinner?

Final draft, Benny was like a tough, and can I just say, thank you. Thank you for sticking with us.

• 8:08Mary Beth Barone?

But can I say one thing?

• 8:09Benito Skinner?

Whoa, holy shit, I look terrible.

• 8:11Mary Beth Barone?

But you were, can I admit that you were on Accutane and it was not, you should not have been?

• 8:15Benito Skinner?

No, I was on Accutane and I shouldn't have been. It was like the wrong thing. I was on Doxy for a while, that really helped. Obviously, the one thing we didn't share was a dermatologist and you said, "Can we just cut out the middleman? Let's do it all."

• 8:27Mary Beth Barone?

  Please!

• 8:28Benito Skinner?

So then I got, I shout out our freaking icon.

• 8:32Mary Beth Barone?

  Brooklyn Dermatology.

• 8:33Benito Skinner?

Brooklyn Dermatology. She took care of me. So I did Doxy and then now, just because people have asked, because the rosacea has really gone down. Um, it's the saving face face wash with the sulfur in it. It's a triple cream, metronidazole, ivermectin and azelaic acid. And that's really been helping me and just less. Just, oh my god, which sucks. But I said, "What if I wore makeup for 90 days straight on the set of a television series?" But still, my skin-

• 9:01Mary Beth Barone?

  It looks really good.

• 9:02Benito Skinner?

  Hey, thank you so much.

• 9:04Mary Beth Barone?

  It looks really good.

• 9:04Benito Skinner?

But, um, but yeah, I'm sure we'll look like shit soon and I'm sure the internet will tell us.

• 9:08Mary Beth Barone?

  Give it some time.

• 9:09Benito Skinner?

The thing that I'm having today, which is just like, it'll send you into psychosis, is sometimes those, when you do- Press line. I'm going to write down. Sorry, let me just take a sec.

• 9:23Benito Skinner?

When you do a press line at an event, you never know what that lighting is gonna be. And I think that their cameras, they have them set to chode mode.

• 9:30Mary Beth Barone?

  Enhance.

• 9:31Benito Skinner?

  They go, whoa, chode mode.

• 9:32Mary Beth Barone?

  Yeah.

• 9:33Benito Skinner?

Because I saw lines on my face I've never seen before on this Hollywood Reporter video. And I unfortunately went to the comments. And yeah, it's definitely, it's crazy what people will say about just a gay guy trying to make it honest.

• 9:49Mary Beth Barone?

  Trying his best.

• 9:50Benito Skinner?

I want everyone to know, I think this is important to me. I don't think I look 19. And that is, I hope you know that, like, I don't think we're getting away with anything with the show. I just hope that you can enjoy the fever dream, the American Pie greasiness of it all.

• 10:07Mary Beth Barone?

We've never hidden our age. We've never denied our age.

• 10:09Benito Skinner?

  I am fully 32.

• 10:10Mary Beth Barone?

  I'm 35.

• 10:11Benito Skinner?

  And sexual.

• 10:12Mary Beth Barone?

  It is what it is.

• 10:13Benito Skinner?

  And I want you.

• 10:15Mary Beth Barone?

I'm working on it and I've come a long way. Completely divorced myself from what people on the internet think of me. It's really hard because I'm a sensitive person and we have a kind, we have kind hearts.

• 10:24Benito Skinner?

You know what Reese Witherspoon says?

• 10:25Mary Beth Barone?

  What?

• 10:26Benito Skinner?

  It's none of my business.

• 10:26Mary Beth Barone?

It's none of my business. So I think.

• 10:28Benito Skinner?

  Draper James.

• 10:29Mary Beth Barone?

I need us, it's the instinct to read comments and stuff. Like, I'm trying to do it less, but it's really hard. And I want to engage with people and I do love a lot of what I see on there. Like, some of it's compliments, but sometimes you have to remove yourself.

• 10:41Benito Skinner?

The things that they'll say about your personal life. And it's like, oh, my God, I have to be honest. Like, you really don't. And the hardest part is you go, if you only knew. That's all I think in my mind, if you only knew, and you just, you won't, so I gotta just.

• 10:53Mary Beth Barone?

You won't, you can't, you never will.

• 10:55Benito Skinner?

And I guess I have to shop online. I got back to my apartment in New York last night and I thought,

• 11:01Benito Skinner?

  I love Fisher.

• 11:02Mary Beth Barone?

  Confessions of a shopaholic.

• 11:04Benito Skinner?

Wow. It was incredible. There's a whole new closet.

• 11:07Mary Beth Barone?

I do want to affirm, though, that I do force you to do things. I'm sort of the puppet master, you're the puppet, and whatever I tell you to do, you do. And that's just to speak to that Reddit comment a little bit.

• 11:17Benito Skinner?

And I agree, and I'm glad we circled back to it.

• 11:19Mary Beth Barone?

Yeah, I just wanted to put that out there, yeah.

• 11:21Benito Skinner?

That I actually have no autonomy, and I think that that also is important.

• 11:24Mary Beth Barone?

  Mm-hmm.

• 11:25Benito Skinner?

  So.

• 11:25Mary Beth Barone?

  Yeah.

• 11:26Benito Skinner?

  I don't make decisions.

• 11:26Mary Beth Barone?

Because you're not a person. You're a gay guy, and that's all you'll ever be.

• 11:30Benito Skinner?

Exactly. I could be bullied by anyone. What's incredible about that is it's like, I am the creator of a show.

• 11:36Mary Beth Barone?

  Right.

• 11:36Benito Skinner?

You know what I mean? Like, I have like a, like a job, but that I could.

• 11:40Mary Beth Barone?

I mean, you run a business, essentially.

• 11:42Benito Skinner?

I do run a business, and what a business it is. What, hey, and I have gratitude every day.

• 11:47Mary Beth Barone?

Of course, we do have a lot of gratitude. No, it's incredible.

• 11:50Benito Skinner?

Fuck, and you're so good in it.

• 11:52Mary Beth Barone?

  Thank you, babe.

• 11:52Benito Skinner?

I am so ready. There's so much sex and humor and sadness. It's so sad.

• 11:58Mary Beth Barone?

They're tackling a lot of important topics. And I do want to say too, like, obviously, it's easy to focus on the negative, but we love our girls so much. And like, we're having a blast and we're excited to be back. I will say that much.

• 12:09Benito Skinner?

We text each other at least three times this morning saying how excited we were. I brought Joe and the Juice to just commemorate the event. I said, "Come on, let's like, let's have a big medieval lunch."

• 12:21Mary Beth Barone?

One cracker sandwich for me, one cracker sandwich for you.

• 12:24Benito Skinner?

I'm feeling like Giddy in A Little Manic from Sue Coffees. I'm back in New York City where they've got macadamia milk!

• 12:31Mary Beth Barone?

  Whoa.

• 12:32Benito Skinner?

  I love this fucking crap.

• 12:34Mary Beth Barone?

  Should we...

• 12:36Benito Skinner?

Milking macadamia nuts? I didn't know it was possible. You can milk the shit out of a macadamia nut? And ooh, baby, do I love it. But they don't have it anywhere but New York. I'm just not finding it at coffee shops outside of New York.

• 12:49Mary Beth Barone?

Interesting. That's crazy, because they could charge $5 on top of the price of the coffee if they simply had that.

• 12:54Benito Skinner?

And I'd be there and I'd tip because, oh, wait, wait, wait. There was one other motherfucking thing. I want to clear our names.

• 13:04Mary Beth Barone?

This is why we cannot read the Reddit.

• 13:05Benito Skinner?

  I know, and we're done.

• 13:06Mary Beth Barone?

Because we could do a whole episode of just responding to things.

• 13:08Benito Skinner?

Here's the thing. Someone said that we were rude at Lur restaurant.

• 13:15Mary Beth Barone?

Or Fish Bar, and that we didn't tip. They said we tipped 10% on a $300 check.

• 13:19Benito Skinner?

I have never in my life tipped under 20%. And by the way, I tipped 30, so don't even start with me.

• 13:26Mary Beth Barone?

We get, we do, we try to outtip each other.

• 13:29Benito Skinner?

Whatever the straight guys we were with tipped is not us, by the way.

• 13:33Mary Beth Barone?

Well, that's the thing about Reddit is that anyone can say anything. But I do want to say if you ever see someone say that we did not tip well, that person is an unreliable narrator.

• 13:42Benito Skinner?

Sorry, that's, and they said that I was looking at my phone and said, "Bye, honey," at the end. And I'm like, "Well, yeah, bye, honey. Like, why is that bad?"

• 13:48Mary Beth Barone?

But also, like, we're all on our phones. I don't know.

• 13:52Benito Skinner?

  I'm like, well, I don't...

• 13:52Mary Beth Barone?

That's why we can't go there. I've looked at other people talking about, like, you know, public figures. And on so many threads about public figures, it will say, like, "And they're a bad tipper." It's like, but I don't, you can't just say that. That's like very damaging.

• 14:07Benito Skinner?

I know someone had tweeted that a long time ago that me, and they thought that me and Caroline Polachek look like bad tippers. And I was like, I know me and my girl are, are doing.

• 14:16Mary Beth Barone?

  Caroline's tipping with crystals from.

• 14:19Benito Skinner?

  Of course.

• 14:20Mary Beth Barone?

From one of Jupiter's moons as well.

• 14:21Benito Skinner?

I don't know what that is, but she's tipping with moon water.

• 14:24Mary Beth Barone?

And it's priceless, if only you knew how to sell it.

• 14:26Benito Skinner?

  And you're welcome.

• 14:27Mary Beth Barone?

  And you're welcome.

• 14:28Benito Skinner?

Yeah. Just because you don't understand the currency doesn't mean that it's not current.

• 14:32Mary Beth Barone?

Doesn't mean it's not valuable. Hey you guys, before we get into ads today, I wanted to remind everyone that Galaxy Brain and my Netflix special comes out on July 28th. And although it is currently July 15th, you can actually go into the app right now, www.netflix.com and set a reminder so that when it comes out, you'll get a notification and you can watch it for the first time, the first of many, hopefully. Also, we will be doing a fan event at Bath House on July 27th. It is limited capacity, but it's gonna be so fun. We're gonna hang out on the roof and go in the pool and just have a little splash around. And of course, Galaxy Brain

• 15:13Mary Beth Barone?

Ball is on July 31st. That's a $3 bill. Both of these events are in Brooklyn, New York in the United States on Planet Earth. And we can't wait to see you there. Now, you know, it's time for me to talk about Hill House Home. Hill House's summer collection just dropped, new prints, new styles, and it might be their best yet. If you don't know Hill House, they're the brand behind the viral nap dress, one with the signature smocking that somehow makes everyone look good and feel amazing. It's been spotted on Taylor Swift, Olivia Rodrigo, Anne Hathaway, the list goes on. That's right, Taylor Swift and Olivia Rodrigo. It has bridged that gap, much like Gracie Abrams. What makes Hill House different is how wearable everything is. Same dress for a coffee run, dinner out,

• 15:57Mary Beth Barone?

a wedding, the beach, you never have to overthink it. And it's not just the dresses. The swim styles and tunics are perfect for your next vacation, or a day at the pool, or even the Galaxy Brain Fan Event at Bath House on July 27th. I guess I'd be remiss if I didn't mention that my. Sheets and bedding are from Hill House Home. So you can go to hillhousehome.com and see new arrivals, or you can buy the literal same sheets that I have that I share with my dog Pinky. And every time I post, people are like, wait, where are those sheets from? So visit hillhousehome.com and use code RIDE at checkout for 20% off your first purchase of $150 or more. • 18:38Benito Skinner?

I saw the best TikTok yesterday. It was this girl and she goes, Oh my god, I need to find it. It was so funny. She was like, I can't believe some of you speak to me the way you speak to me. I've been to Japan.

• 18:48Mary Beth Barone?

Oh, that was on my For You page today. Do you want to talk about Essence thinking you're AI? I have a long list of stuff to get through, that's why I'm on my phone.

• 18:56Benito Skinner?

Oh, yes. And she's gonna switch to notepad soon, cuz that'll make it better.

• 19:01Mary Beth Barone?

It's better aesthetically. People don't want to think about technology when we're sitting here in front of a neon sign with five to six cameras pointed at us, speaking into microphones. They do not want to be reminded of technology.

• 19:11Benito Skinner?

Hey, knock it off. Let's just be in the moment. Toy Story 5 said, "Fuck tech."

• 19:17Mary Beth Barone?

Fuck tech, here's a limited edition iPad cover.

• 19:19Benito Skinner?

I know, and I want it. Okay, so I was on Essence recently, and you know,

• 19:26Benito Skinner?

when you're on set, I shoot off to the moon. When you're on set, he loves us today.

• 19:34Mary Beth Barone?

He's having a blast. He's on his phone.

• 19:36Benito Skinner?

Hey daddy. He's looking at porn.

• 19:40Mary Beth Barone?

  I say, bring it on.

• 19:41Benito Skinner?

Every producer watches porn when they listen to us. They have to distract themselves from how sexy you are.

• 19:45Mary Beth Barone?

  Exactly.

• 19:47Benito Skinner?

Oops, I fell in love with you.

• 19:49Mary Beth Barone?

  Oops.

• 19:50Benito Skinner?

So I've been on Essence a lot, and Essence, yesterday, it actually took my breath away. I literally almost said, "It's giving suspicious," but it kinda was. However they described it, they were like, "We have to prove you're not a bot right now, because like, the way you're acting is very bot."

• 20:05Mary Beth Barone?

The way you're adding to cart.

• 20:07Benito Skinner?

To look at 500 pages is crass.

• 20:09Mary Beth Barone?

Yeah, and with the speed with which.

• 20:12Benito Skinner?

So I barely proved that I was human, and in that moment I realized, I can do AI, but they can't do me.

• 20:18Mary Beth Barone?

  AI couldn't do you.

• 20:19Benito Skinner?

But yeah, so that was me shopping.

• 20:21Mary Beth Barone?

It's interesting, I didn't get a list of items to approve, seeing as I'm in charge here.

• 20:25Benito Skinner?

Sweetie, I did not buy anything, I promise, baby.

• 20:28Mary Beth Barone?

  Oh, you were just browsing?

• 20:30Benito Skinner?

  Yeah.

• 20:30Mary Beth Barone?

So, I think another big takeaway over the break for me was that-

• 20:35Benito Skinner?

  Vermicelli bowls?

• 20:37Mary Beth Barone?

  Wow.

• 20:39Mary Beth Barone?

Okay, here's an experience not many adults have.

• 20:42Benito Skinner?

  We've entered the vermichelli era.

• 20:45Mary Beth Barone?

So Benny and I got to Toronto and both immediately got taken out by the flu. I'm talking like, flattened, could only lay down, couldn't go for walks, could barely drink water.

• 20:56Benito Skinner?

  Straight from a bat.

• 20:57Mary Beth Barone?

It was a bat, a bat somehow reached us. We got the flu. It wasn't covid. But we got to be sick together, which was kind of beautiful. We just like watched TV all day because we physically couldn't do anything else.

• 21:10Benito Skinner?

Oh, I mean, we watched Taken.

• 21:15Benito Skinner?

What was the other movie we watched? It was so insane. We watched like such random shit.

• 21:18Mary Beth Barone?

We watched a lot of stuff.

• 21:20Benito Skinner?

  Like crap.

• 21:20Mary Beth Barone?

Like it's all a blur to me.

• 21:22Benito Skinner?

No, I know, but Taken stands out.

• 21:23Mary Beth Barone?

Taken, well, we're gonna ride for Taken as a carpool.

• 21:26Benito Skinner?

Oh, my God, the way it taught us about European travel.

• 21:28Mary Beth Barone?

Oh, my God, and post nine eleven media, my goodness.

• 21:30Benito Skinner?

  Come on.

• 21:31Mary Beth Barone?

So we were in bed one day and we were trying to figure out what to order. And I think we were like looking at pho. Like you were gonna order pho.

• 21:39Benito Skinner?

  Yeah, I really wanted pho.

• 21:39Mary Beth Barone?

As you know, I don't eat pho, too splashy. But we, I was perusing the options and I was, I just saw this thing called a vermicelli bowl. And I don't know why it tickled me, but like and I thought about like I'll have one vermicelli bowl for me and

• 21:56Benito Skinner?

Two vermicelli bowls, please, hold the spice. And then we were just like

• 22:00Mary Beth Barone?

We don't know what it is or what it means.

• 22:02Benito Skinner?

Mind you, we got Connie Britton onto this. Where she walked by someone and they were eating something, she goes, oh, a vermicelli bowl.

• 22:09Mary Beth Barone?

  Vermicelli bowl.

• 22:09Benito Skinner?

And we went, oh, we've brain rotted like America's mom.

• 22:12Mary Beth Barone?

  Yeah.

• 22:12Benito Skinner?

And that's wrong, but also right.

• 22:14Mary Beth Barone?

I think the vocal stem within it that it reminds me of is Giannina Milady Jabeli of Love is Blind, season one. And I just think the concept of vermicelli bowl to have gone thirty five years of life. Maybe I was thirty four at that point and to not have ever heard the term vermicelli bowl.

• 22:31Benito Skinner?

I'll just say you were thirty four.

• 22:32Mary Beth Barone?

  I was thirty four.

• 22:33Benito Skinner?

This was the, yeah, this was when you were thirty four.

• 22:34Mary Beth Barone?

And I had a lot to learn.

• 22:36Benito Skinner?

Oh, you had so much more to learn, girl. The kids hadn't taught you a big fucking lesson yet. But to me, seeing it written out is one of the most fabulous things. It it evokes the painting of Venus.

• 22:48Mary Beth Barone?

  Totally. Well, a Botticelli even.

• 22:50Benito Skinner?

  It's very Botticelli.

• 22:52Mary Beth Barone?

What I would love to do is write it, write it in cursive.

• 22:53Benito Skinner?

Wait, let's open a place called Botticelli's and it's all vermicelli bowls.

• 22:57Mary Beth Barone?

It's like, um, it's like sweet cream, but it's vermicelli.

• 23:02Mary Beth Barone?

You can make your own vermicelli bowls. It's fast casual dining for vermicelli bowls.

• 23:06Benito Skinner?

Safe to say, if you guys come anywhere near vermicelli, we want to know about it. If you're eating vermicelli and not sending to me.

• 23:14Mary Beth Barone?

  How about those vermicelli nates?

• 23:16Benito Skinner?

Fuck the pork night, it's too hot. I need a vermicelli bowl. I need a vermicelli brekkie. Come on, bitch.

• 23:22Mary Beth Barone?

  Vermicelli's good for any meal.

• 23:26Benito Skinner?

It's still, it still makes me laugh.

• 23:30Benito Skinner?

  Next.

• 23:31Mary Beth Barone?

So, should we talk about? Okay, no. I thought a lot over the break about Dolce & Gabbana ultimately.

• 23:46Benito Skinner?

  D and G is nasty.

• 23:47Mary Beth Barone?

D and G is so, I have been really staunchly like, I can't wear D and G. I just, because of all the things they've done, which like, no one fully remembers, but you can find it out online.

• 23:59Benito Skinner?

There's so many. I have a few things.

• 24:02Mary Beth Barone?

  There's a list, totally. I would not buy new D and G.

• 24:05Benito Skinner?

  No.

• 24:06Mary Beth Barone?

I would buy vintage D and G, which I have.

• 24:09Benito Skinner?

Yeah, I have some as well.

• 24:10Mary Beth Barone?

And if you see me wearing D and G, it's to celebrate what was, not what currently is.

• 24:16Benito Skinner?

  Yeah.

• 24:16Mary Beth Barone?

And I just think it's like, I've been so strict about certain things that maybe don't really matter that much. So I'm just like, this is sort of my one cheat where I'm like, I'm gonna wear vintage D and G.

• 24:27Benito Skinner?

Well, it's like every year when I secretly watch Blue Jasmine and it has nothing to do with anything.

• 24:32Mary Beth Barone?

  For me.

• 24:33Benito Skinner?

But watching Cate Blanchett and that tour de force performance. And it really is just that.

• 24:39Benito Skinner?

I completely agree. And also, it's like, it's thrifting. And I've been, oh my god, I have.

• 24:43Mary Beth Barone?

  Hey, good for the planet.

• 24:46Benito Skinner?

  Does that do it?

• 24:47Mary Beth Barone?

How many gallons of water did I save by buying this D and G top?

• 24:50Benito Skinner?

Does that do it? Um, yeah, I would never buy new, but some of the old D and G, I used to love those ads where it was all the people like partying and stuff. You know, all the people partying and stuff. I'm not smart.

• 25:02Mary Beth Barone?

But I'm not either and it's okay.

• 25:04Benito Skinner?

  Good.

• 25:06Benito Skinner?

Yeah. Hey, no worries. I'm glad you were thinking about it a lot and we feel good about it. Oh, he's watching.

• 25:12Mary Beth Barone?

He's doing, he's playing Fortnite or something.

• 25:15Benito Skinner?

  He's always gambling.

• 25:16Mary Beth Barone?

  He's on Polymarket.

• 25:18Benito Skinner?

  Yeah.

• 25:18Mary Beth Barone?

He's betting on if people are gonna stop listening to the podcast cuz we're wearing vintage D and G.

• 25:23Benito Skinner?

He goes, they're gonna burn Melrose Podcast Studio to the ground.

• 25:27Mary Beth Barone?

  The only thing that's left.

• 25:28Benito Skinner?

  Imagine we defiled this place?

• 25:29Mary Beth Barone?

The only thing that's left is that.

• 25:30Benito Skinner?

  It's the new Batcave.

• 25:32Mary Beth Barone?

Oh, my God. We have so much still to talk about. That's so funny.

• 25:35Benito Skinner?

  Yeah.

• 25:35Mary Beth Barone?

So at the Rosalía concert, which was one of my big goals for the year, we set intentions. Yours was purses.

• 25:44Benito Skinner?

And boy, did I fucking nail it.

• 25:46Mary Beth Barone?

Mine was to see Rosalía live. So you go onstage to do your confession and me and Jake Samus, who's your stylist, who's like a twink, if I may say, complimentary and bestie. We walk out from backstage cuz we had walked in with you. These two gay guys come over to us and they go, are you guys security? I go, I have a lip combo on.

• 26:07Mary Beth Barone?

  No, I'm not security.

• 26:08Benito Skinner?

It's my favorite. It's maybe one of my favorite Mary Beth isms. I have the website.

• 26:13Mary Beth Barone?

It's, it's, it's just like you're looking at me and saying, are you guys security?

• 26:17Benito Skinner?

I have a lip combo on and he has a Life is Good hat on. Ironically, grow up.

• 26:23Mary Beth Barone?

  So, no.

• 26:24Benito Skinner?

Those same gays go, they came up and said, we've got a mountain of coke if you guys know where the after-party is.

• 26:32Mary Beth Barone?

Unfortunately, we didn't. We had to go watch the next. Otherwise, I would have loved to sort of take them up on them.

• 26:39Benito Skinner?

Oh, God. Imagining the night, wherever that night would have taken us, scary. We wouldn't have been here today.

• 26:44Mary Beth Barone?

We have to say yes to life more. That's a big theme. So we have more stuff to talk about on the pod.

• 26:48Benito Skinner?

Yes, man. The plot of Yes, Man Sticks with me and also Yes, Day because I think about all the ways that could go wrong.

• 26:54Mary Beth Barone?

  Well, yeah.

• 26:54Benito Skinner?

What a, what a nightmarish thing when parents, if they would have done that to me as a kid, I would have been like, oh, and to you?

• 27:01Mary Beth Barone?

I would have bought so many Louis Vuitton bags.

• 27:04Benito Skinner?

  Literally, I go.

• 27:04Mary Beth Barone?

Me at seven, I'm not kidding. I would have said, we're going to, we're going to what would have been the department store, Bloomingdale's.

• 27:10Benito Skinner?

  Yeah. My name is Punisher.

• 27:12Mary Beth Barone?

  Yeah. Get the cart out.

• 27:14Benito Skinner?

Get the cart out. It's gonna be melting.

• 27:16Mary Beth Barone?

  Yeah.

• 27:17Benito Skinner?

You're acting like a bot. That's what it said when I went on Essence. You're acting like a bot, dude.

• 27:22Mary Beth Barone?

I would like to discuss that we are, we wanted to announce on here, we are trying.

• 27:28Benito Skinner?

  We are trying.

• 27:29Mary Beth Barone?

We thought it would be such a fun concept at dinners to tell whoever we're eating dinner with that we're trying.

• 27:33Benito Skinner?

  We're trying.

• 27:34Mary Beth Barone?

  We pulled the goalie.

• 27:35Benito Skinner?

Mm-hmm. We pulled the goalie. The hockey goalie is gone. We are trying consistently. We, I li-

• 27:44Mary Beth Barone?

Even on days when it wouldn't be possible, we're trying, just in case.

• 27:47Benito Skinner?

Straight couples telling you at a table that they're raw fucking is like so-

• 27:53Mary Beth Barone?

  On a schedule too.

• 27:54Benito Skinner?

The fact that that's, it's, oh my god, I added something to our, um, thing last night. It's very knock it off.

• 28:00Mary Beth Barone?

  Totally.

• 28:02Benito Skinner?

Which I just love the concept of, like, knock it off. But these, these things that we allow people to do and say, straight couples have two things they can really say to you at a dinner. It's, do you want mushroom chocolates? And we pulled the goalie.

• 28:16Mary Beth Barone?

  We pulled the goalie.

• 28:17Benito Skinner?

So, and I'd love hearing both.

• 28:19Mary Beth Barone?

I think what's really beautiful, my brother and his wife are expecting, I didn't, I didn't hear anything about it until-

• 28:26Benito Skinner?

  Benny Barone?

• 28:27Mary Beth Barone?

It's little Benny Barone. Oh, and that brings me to a really fun next topic. I didn't hear anything about it till the test was positive. You know what I mean? It's like, I didn't need to know about any, any planning, anything like that.

• 28:39Benito Skinner?

No, you don't need to know about your brother's [BLEEP].

• 28:42Mary Beth Barone?

Say that. I asked a straight man if he had any friends to set me up with. This was, this was when I wasn't dating, I, I didn't date until I recorded my special. So this was January, I said, you have three months to think of a person to set me up on a date with, guy or girl. I know you know cool people, let her rip. I see him, like, two months later, so this is a little bit before I was ready to open my heart again, and he goes, so I have someone for you to date. He's about 60 pounds overweight. And I go, okay, no problem.

• 29:12Benito Skinner?

60 pounds, like, can be anything by the way.

• 29:14Mary Beth Barone?

Yeah, and I'm like, cool, like, if he has swag, like, you know, I'm fine with that.

• 29:18Benito Skinner?

  You said, how does he?

• 29:19Mary Beth Barone?

So I go, I said, does he wear it well? And he goes, no, he doesn't take care of himself.

• 29:28Benito Skinner?

What I'm finding is that like, we all kind of fucking hate you. And we will get to the bottom of it.

• 29:34Mary Beth Barone?

It's about time that people fucking admit it.

• 29:36Benito Skinner?

That's all I'm saying. That's why I'm just telling you.

• 29:38Mary Beth Barone?

This is the barista method too, by the way. For baristas, and I finally found one that I really fuck with. And so she moved coffee shops, so I have a new coffee shop, which has been interesting for my morning routine. But for a barista, if the best part of your day is being mean to me, you're welcome for that. I say this, and if these walls could talk. But it's okay. Like, I really don't mind. But yeah, people fucking hate me. They don't think, they don't think well of me.

• 30:06Mary Beth Barone?

And it's a guess, some of the people even listening to this right now. What are you, what are you doing?

• 30:10Benito Skinner?

  Sweetie, they're here for me.

• 30:11Mary Beth Barone?

  Yeah.

• 30:11Benito Skinner?

  Don't be crazy.

• 30:12Mary Beth Barone?

And, and I'm glad they get half, they get half the episode to enjoy.

• 30:16Benito Skinner?

  They just pull off.

• 30:16Mary Beth Barone?

And half of things to text their group chat. Can you believe she fucking said that?

• 30:19Benito Skinner?

  Mm-hmm.

• 30:20Mary Beth Barone?

  You're welcome.

• 30:21Benito Skinner?

  Yeah.

• 30:22Mary Beth Barone?

Give them something to talk about.

• 30:24Benito Skinner?

You're nobody until you're talked about. There was a Gossip Girl tagline, which goes into our wheat pasting. I hope you've seen it around. Where's it gonna be? Soho in Williamsburg?

• 30:32Mary Beth Barone?

  Something like that.

• 30:33Benito Skinner?

  I can't win.

• 30:33Mary Beth Barone?

  It's in New York.

• 30:34Benito Skinner?

We used all the old taglines from Gossip Girl ads when they said it was like really bad for you.

• 30:38Mary Beth Barone?

  Very bad for you.

• 30:38Benito Skinner?

  Shockingly, what's mind-blowingly inappropriate.

• 30:41Mary Beth Barone?

  Parents' worst nightmare.

• 30:42Benito Skinner?

Parents' worst nightmare. We are actually the exact opposite, can I just say?

• 30:46Mary Beth Barone?

No, we're the, we are really good with parents too. Bring us home and we will charm the pants off of them.

• 30:52Benito Skinner?

Like, I'm bringing candles. I'm bringing the way they candles love.

• 30:55Mary Beth Barone?

  Maybelline has reached out.

• 30:59Benito Skinner?

This, okay, you've been making me witch cackle today. This isn't my real laugh, by the way.

• 31:05Benito Skinner?

I, the second you said this to me when we were training together, shout out Don Juan, Don Juan Ray, the Juice Man, as I call him.

• 31:17Benito Skinner?

You said this out loud and I go, you have to say this on the podcast, cuz that is like, so a lot of people don't respect you, some respect you too much.

• 31:26Mary Beth Barone?

Too much. They think too highly of me.

• 31:27Benito Skinner?

  Yeah.

• 31:28Mary Beth Barone?

It smells C brands. Maybelline reached out to ask if I would run the New York City Marathon on behalf of Maybelline and at every stop do like a lip check for a lip product.

• 31:38Benito Skinner?

You run it with red lips.

• 31:39Mary Beth Barone?

I run it with a full red lip and high heels on. I walk it.

• 31:42Benito Skinner?

  Black lips.

• 31:43Mary Beth Barone?

My manager said, how much would it take our manager? How mu- what's the number?

• 31:48Benito Skinner?

  Yeah.

• 31:48Mary Beth Barone?

  I said, 2 million.

• 31:50Benito Skinner?

  Easy.

• 31:51Mary Beth Barone?

For me to even walk 26.2 miles, it sort of goes against everything I stand for. But I love that Maybelline is coming up with creative ways to get women involved in sports.

• 32:00Benito Skinner?

Actually, it just hit me. Maybelline wants you dead.

• 32:03Mary Beth Barone?

  Yeah.

• 32:03Benito Skinner?

I just realized. They want you to die.

• 32:08Benito Skinner?

And that's really all there is to say on that.

• 32:11Mary Beth Barone?

  Yeah, there's not much more.

• 32:12Benito Skinner?

  I mean, it's just incredible.

• 32:13Mary Beth Barone?

  But thanks for reaching out.

• 32:14Benito Skinner?

Of all the people, they thought.

• 32:16Mary Beth Barone?

  They thought, maybe should.

• 32:17Benito Skinner?

Let's get some hokas on this chick and let her rip.

• 32:19Mary Beth Barone?

And let her, let her die.

• 32:21Benito Skinner?

  Let her drop.

• 32:22Mary Beth Barone?

Let her die in the fall.

• 32:24Benito Skinner?

Oh, God, me cheering on the side. Well, you know what I'd do? I'd pick you up and finish it.

• 32:29Mary Beth Barone?

  Oh, yeah.

• 32:29Benito Skinner?

If you had 50 steps left.

• 32:30Mary Beth Barone?

There'd be two, two, two foot, two, two footsteps or whatever. What is it?

• 32:34Benito Skinner?

All of New York cheering for us.

• 32:38Benito Skinner?

Jones Road, down the Jones Road, driving my car down the Jones Road. Okay, so it's always fun to do an ad read without Mary Beth because I get to listen to her ads after she listens to mine. It's a lot like we've recorded something and they're playing it at the bachelorette party. So I have used the Jones Road Beauty Miracle Bomb for, I think, honestly, years at this point. But it's absolutely fabulous. You can use your fingers. You can dab, dab, dab it on those cheekalinas. You can also put it on your forehead. It's kind of like a bronze blush hybrid. We love you down so much, and we all can't wait to launch our own websites or Domants. Moi.

• 36:16Mary Beth Barone?

  Je suis de la monde.

• 36:18Benito Skinner?

So. All roads have led to je suis de la monde.

• 36:27Benito Skinner?

It is my new joie de vie, joie de vie found dead.

• 36:31Mary Beth Barone?

Also, it's not proper grammar. It's not proper French grammar.

• 36:34Benito Skinner?

I never said it was. This podcast has never been about that.

• 36:37Mary Beth Barone?

  Never, ever, ever.

• 36:39Benito Skinner?

And also, I just have to say this, just for the sake of everything. I have seen the Kerplunk game. I don't even know what to call it, installation at Costco. I've never been sent something more in my life. I think I'm about to get a serious message, and it's a photo of that. So I have seen it. I love it. Thank you for sending. I think I'm good.

• 37:00Mary Beth Barone?

  Yeah.

• 37:01Benito Skinner?

I think I'm good now. I've seen over 200 images. I'll go see it for myself, I think.

• 37:06Mary Beth Barone?

  You should go to Costco.

• 37:06Benito Skinner?

Why should be sitting on top of it for a meet and greet? But, um, what was I gonna say?

• 37:13Mary Beth Barone?

  Je suis de la monde.

• 37:14Benito Skinner?

Je suis de la monde. Oh, I'm always, that's what I'm always about to say. But it's kind of like, you say je suis de la monde, like, I'm just like of the world, like, I'm just like a child of God.

• 37:25Mary Beth Barone?

Well, you came up with the vocal stem of je suis de la monde.

• 37:29Benito Skinner?

  Je suis de la monde.

• 37:31Mary Beth Barone?

I put in Google Translate and it said, I am of the world.

• 37:34Benito Skinner?

Do you get that? Like, I am but a reflection, like, je suis de la monde.

• 37:40Mary Beth Barone?

  De la monde.

• 37:41Benito Skinner?

And you can, God. Ah, I get why people miss me. You know what I mean?

• 37:47Mary Beth Barone?

  Totally. There's a withdrawal.

• 37:48Benito Skinner?

Je suis de la monde. And it's, it can work really like, anytime, like, someone's like, you're leaving already? And you get in the car and you roll down the window and on the way out, you go, je suis de la monde.

• 38:02Mary Beth Barone?

It's sort of like, inshallah, in a way.

• 38:04Benito Skinner?

Well, of course, and by By the way, enchilada.

• 38:06Mary Beth Barone?

And by the way, enchilada. It's just like, I know they don't mean the same thing at all, but just we, it's like, it just can be applicable to a lot of different things.

• 38:14Benito Skinner?

It's how I would probably start kind of any dinner, any.

• 38:18Mary Beth Barone?

  It's a, it's a grace.

• 38:19Benito Skinner?

  It's a rallying cry.

• 38:21Mary Beth Barone?

  Yeah, totally.

• 38:22Benito Skinner?

It's very, ah, what's the tribute? They go like this? I did the SOS bar thing for go.

• 38:30Mary Beth Barone?

  Who's that?

• 38:31Benito Skinner?

From Hunger Games. They do like three fingers.

• 38:33Mary Beth Barone?

I haven't seen it enough. I do want to be clear. I would totally date someone 60 pounds overweight. I just want to say, and I have, and I will again, but it's just like the idea that.

• 38:42Benito Skinner?

  Doesn't take care of himself?

• 38:43Mary Beth Barone?

  Doesn't take care of himself.

• 38:44Benito Skinner?

That's like, what? Wait, also, you have enough jobs. That sounds like that would be your job.

• 38:50Mary Beth Barone?

Totally. So yeah, I just want to say that. Please don't take that anecdote for anything more than what it is.

• 38:55Benito Skinner?

One thing I do want to say is some people really are like, he needs therapy, but I think that for just like everything, therapy is one thing someone needs. Like, there's like a total ecosystem.

• 39:09Mary Beth Barone?

  We need a treatment plan.

• 39:10Benito Skinner?

We need a treatment plan. Some people are like, God, he just needs therapy. I'm like, an hour talking to someone a week is not gonna do it. It's just not gonna do it in the time that it needs to be done.

• 39:19Mary Beth Barone?

  Right.

• 39:20Benito Skinner?

  I would say.

• 39:20Mary Beth Barone?

Especially depending on how old you are.

• 39:22Benito Skinner?

Let's do like a fully formed system. And also, just thinking of that as a one stop shop.

• 39:28Mary Beth Barone?

  I want to talk about.

• 39:30Benito Skinner?

Glad I said that. What, what am I even doing here, dude? I've got my, I've got my freaking dogs out.

• 39:35Mary Beth Barone?

  I can only amplify.

• 39:36Benito Skinner?

I know. How's my hair look? I think I went a little too short.

• 39:39Mary Beth Barone?

  No, you didn't. Stop it.

• 39:40Benito Skinner?

  Kiss me.

• 39:44Mary Beth Barone?

I would like to talk about when I went on a.

• 39:46Benito Skinner?

Sparkle twins. We've got a sparkle girl.

• 39:47Mary Beth Barone?

I went on a first date. I went on a first date and I was telling you I'm going on a first date at the Knicks game. And you go, oh, I wish I was in town. I would go. I'm like, the idea of you coming with me on a first date, which is how we should do it, honestly.

• 40:00Benito Skinner?

I'm like, why the fuck wouldn't I be there? If I was in town?

• 40:04Mary Beth Barone?

  Perfect sense to me.

• 40:05Benito Skinner?

I could have picked up on things that maybe you couldn't have seen. I, to me, that just makes like, you've come on a lot of mine.

• 40:12Mary Beth Barone?

You coming on a first date would very much be, is very much, je suis de la monde. I am of the world.

• 40:17Benito Skinner?

And that's the first thing I would say.

• 40:19Mary Beth Barone?

  Of course.

• 40:19Benito Skinner?

When this, whoever this guy is, this guy or girl, and they would go, hey, look at. Guy or girl?

• 40:25Mary Beth Barone?

Yeah. You don't, you told me you only believe I'm bi when I'm in my baggy basketball shorts and a baggy t-shirt.

• 40:30Benito Skinner?

Well, to me, then you're just a lesbian.

• 40:32Mary Beth Barone?

  Oh, cool. I like that.

• 40:34Benito Skinner?

Which I love. But to me, yeah, that's the first thing I would say to him. And, oh, can we talk about a new thing of Duddy?

• 40:43Mary Beth Barone?

  Which one?

• 40:45Benito Skinner?

That she falls everywhere she goes and gets, oh, this is my favorite thing.

• 40:48Mary Beth Barone?

Oh, my god, a new Duddy lore just dropped.

• 40:50Benito Skinner?

New Duddy lore. The way you all have just like signed on to be Dudys and have been Duddy in your own life. That's what I'm fucking talking about.

• 40:59Mary Beth Barone?

Wait, wait, wait. Can I set, can I set some context?

• 41:01Benito Skinner?

Yes, of course. Well, I sip a straw out of this late night cup.

• 41:04Mary Beth Barone?

I was in the hair and makeup trailer on set. Shout out, Orna and Blake. We absolutely love getting our freaking MUA done every day. And Kristen and Natasha, who were my glam team.

• 41:19Benito Skinner?

That whole trailer, like, that was home to me. That's safe.

• 41:22Mary Beth Barone?

The trailers used to walk up like staggered steps to get into.

• 41:26Benito Skinner?

They're hard to walk up. Period.

• 41:31Benito Skinner?

  Tell him, girl.

• 41:32Mary Beth Barone?

So I'm walking down and I saw our new cast member, Tom Francis. He was down, a little down the way.

• 41:38Benito Skinner?

Speaking of which, like, gird your loins, young women. Your daddy has been doing crazy things for TV.

• 41:46Mary Beth Barone?

I had not laid eyes on the man in person yet, and he's so handsome.

• 41:49Benito Skinner?

  He's like, he's a stunner. Yeah, yeah.

• 41:54Mary Beth Barone?

I had a refillable plastic cup and straw, and I'm walking down the stairs.

• 42:01Mary Beth Barone?

I eat shit so hard, my water flies.

• 42:04Benito Skinner?

It was, sorry, it was such a wipeout that I didn't laugh at first because I was like, fuck, she's like really hurt herself. Like, when it crosses over from being like so funny to like, oh shit, like, we have an injury.

• 42:17Mary Beth Barone?

I didn't sustain any injuries, but.

• 42:19Benito Skinner?

  And you're brittle.

• 42:20Mary Beth Barone?

I'm extremely brittle. I mean, we were all surprised that I hadn't broken a bone.

• 42:24Benito Skinner?

No, I was shocked. I was like, now I have to write in that, like, Grace wears a boot everywhere. Great.

• 42:30Mary Beth Barone?

Low bone density. But basically, I was, you know, falling. Why didn't you catch me?

• 42:37Benito Skinner?

So my thing was is that Duddy on every date. She falls and then looks at the guy and goes, why didn't you catch me? And she has all these scabs all over her knees. She's covered in bruises and scabs. The Ugg boots can't protect her. They're all over and she it's just her thing. And it's how she tests if he's the one. There was this kind of like low key Hallmark movie that I think Patrick Dempsey might have been in. It wasn't Hallmark per se, but it was on TV and it was this story of this woman and she was like there. It was like lucky number seven or something where it was like the guy she was supposed to be with. Their hands would fit.

• 43:18Mary Beth Barone?

  Yeah, yeah, yeah.

• 43:18Benito Skinner?

  Did you watch this?

• 43:19Mary Beth Barone?

  I didn't. I don't think I saw that one.

• 43:20Benito Skinner?

I loved it. My mom and I would watch it all the time, but it was like so that and that's her. She's testing all these guys.

• 43:26Mary Beth Barone?

  She's waiting.

• 43:26Benito Skinner?

She's waiting for the one that fits.

• 43:28Mary Beth Barone?

  The one that fits.

• 43:28Benito Skinner?

That is such a thing when you hold hands with someone and it fits.

• 43:32Mary Beth Barone?

Atonement. You made me write this in here.

• 43:37Benito Skinner?

So I I participated in something that I knew was what would have been Barbenheimer if it would have been around at the time. And we all live in a post-Barbenheimer world. Deal with it. Chespy De La Mont. God, to have vermicelli and Chespy De La Mont in the same ep like we're coming back.

• 44:00Mary Beth Barone?

I'm sorry to all your boyfriends.

• 44:02Benito Skinner?

  I'm not.

• 44:03Mary Beth Barone?

  And Benny's not.

• 44:04Benito Skinner?

They deserve it. Wear it well.

• 44:06Mary Beth Barone?

Wear it well. I have to apologize.

• 44:07Benito Skinner?

He doesn't take care of himself.

• 44:08Mary Beth Barone?

He doesn't take care of himself.

• 44:11Benito Skinner?

So I'm I'm watching Atonement, but at the same time as Toy Story five is coming out. So I kind of was going back and forth between Atonement and the Toy Story franchise. So I just thought Atonement.

• 44:22Mary Beth Barone?

  Atonement would have been huge.

• 44:24Benito Skinner?

And I just thinking of the DVD pack at Costco.

• 44:26Mary Beth Barone?

  I know.

• 44:27Benito Skinner?

  Right?

• 44:28Mary Beth Barone?

Something for mom. Something for mom, something for the kids.

• 44:31Benito Skinner?

  Of course.

• 44:31Mary Beth Barone?

  Atonement.

• 44:32Benito Skinner?

  Atonement.

• 44:33Mary Beth Barone?

And you can buy, of course, at Costco frozen vermicelli bowls.

• 44:36Benito Skinner?

Frozen vermicelli bowls, Kirkland. God, we should have a little Kirkland special over there.

• 44:40Mary Beth Barone?

  We should have a.

• 44:40Benito Skinner?

  I love the hot dogs.

• 44:41Mary Beth Barone?

  We should have a bundle.

• 44:42Benito Skinner?

  Duddy hot dog.

• 44:43Mary Beth Barone?

Duddy hot dog, vermicelli bowl, the game come on Kirkland or whatever.

• 44:46Benito Skinner?

Someone tagged me that they ordered a Duddy like they I can't.

• 44:52Mary Beth Barone?

  Oh, a Duddy dinner.

• 44:53Benito Skinner?

  They had a.

• 44:53Mary Beth Barone?

  Banana smoothie.

• 44:54Benito Skinner?

  They had a.

• 44:54Mary Beth Barone?

  Oysters.

• 44:55Benito Skinner?

  Strawberry.

• 44:55Mary Beth Barone?

  Rockefeller.

• 44:56Benito Skinner?

Smoothie. Oysters, Rockefeller and a hot dog.

• 45:01Mary Beth Barone?

Fuck, wait, we didn't even talk about my birthday dinner. Which was so good.

• 45:06Benito Skinner?

  It was so good.

• 45:07Mary Beth Barone?

But one thing I'm finding with these restaurants now is like, it's a play. I'm like, okay, but I'm here with my niece, my mom, and my, my gay husband. And I love the play you're putting on with like, all this stuff about the dishes.

• 45:17Benito Skinner?

  Yeah.

• 45:18Mary Beth Barone?

But I also would love to chat with the people I came to dinner with.

• 45:21Benito Skinner?

Well, of course. Here's my, what was the, um, what was the thing in New York where you could go to each room? And it was like a play in the room?

• 45:27Mary Beth Barone?

  Oh, oh, oh, my god.

• 45:28Benito Skinner?

  It was something night.

• 45:30Mary Beth Barone?

Sleep no more, sleep no more.

• 45:32Benito Skinner?

Sleep no more, sleep no more. Um, it's so that.

• 45:34Mary Beth Barone?

  It's sleep no more.

• 45:34Benito Skinner?

Where they're like, they had carts and stuff, it was seafood palace.

• 45:38Mary Beth Barone?

They brought out the uncooked steak to show us before.

• 45:40Benito Skinner?

Oh, and I love to be like, very inquisitive during that. And I just thought, yes.

• 45:44Mary Beth Barone?

I go marbled? I'll take it.

• 45:46Benito Skinner?

This will do for me and these three Baroni women I'm with.

• 45:50Mary Beth Barone?

  Yeah.

• 45:50Benito Skinner?

What a gift, your mom, oh my god.

• 45:52Mary Beth Barone?

  She had so much fun.

• 45:53Benito Skinner?

She went on a trip in Amsterdam and she bought most of her kid's socks. And by most, I mean, not two of her sons, but me. And again, can I just say, Benny Barone.

• 46:03Mary Beth Barone?

Benny Barone. The last thing I think we'll say before we get into, well, this is a two-part episode.

• 46:09Benito Skinner?

This is a two-parter because we had too much to say. You tried to cancel mom, so we had to, we really had to talk about a bunch of stuff.

• 46:16Mary Beth Barone?

We did, but not specifically. Like, we haven't really touched on that specifically. It's very vague and that's how it will stay.

• 46:23Benito Skinner?

  Well, you know what?

• 46:25Mary Beth Barone?

I have nothing more to say on it.

• 46:26Benito Skinner?

And, and I have nothing more to say on a few things that have been brought to my desk.

• 46:31Mary Beth Barone?

And one thing that we haven't even discussed, which we never will, but just know that there's some stuff we have more to say on.

• 46:37Benito Skinner?

Of course. And that's where context clues could do a lot of work. And I will ride for them at some point, once I gather all the information.

• 46:45Mary Beth Barone?

Totally, once you gather all the clues.

• 46:47Benito Skinner?

All I can say is, we love you. Thank you for listening to this podcast. We're so happy to be back.

• 46:53Mary Beth Barone?

  Yes.

• 46:54Benito Skinner?

And it's gonna be, it's gonna be a good one, it's gonna be a bumpy ride.

• 46:57Mary Beth Barone?

It's gonna be really bumpy. And what I will be riding for having wet nails.

• 47:01Benito Skinner?

And I will be riding for banana.

• 47:03Mary Beth Barone?

And I did want to just close out the first half of this episode by saying, there are a lot of people walking around being unapologetically themselves. Some of you guys need to apologize.

• 47:13Benito Skinner?

  I agree.

• 47:14Mary Beth Barone?

  Because your personality is ass.

• 47:15Benito Skinner?

  Je suis de la mode.

• 47:25Mary Beth Barone?

Oh, my exit. Benny babe, eyes on the road.

• 47:30Mary Beth Barone?

  Benny, go!

• 47:45Speaker 03
