• 1:01Speaker 03

Hey, hey, what? Who are you heying to?

• 1:05Brooke Averick?

  I'm saying hi.

• 1:06Speaker 03

  Hey, girl.

• 1:07Brooke Averick?

  How are you?

• 1:09Speaker 03

I'm good. What are we doing right now?

• 1:11Brooke Averick?

  Um, computer husband mode.

• 1:14Speaker 03

Hello. Welcome to Brooke and Connor Make a Podcast.

• 1:39Brooke Averick?

So you are officially in the city that never sleeps.

• 1:45Speaker 03

  The Big Apple.

• 1:47Brooke Averick?

Walk us through like your move right now because I don't think everyone, including myself, knows like what's going on. Do you have an apartment? Like, let us know.

• 1:58Speaker 03

I love where your head's at right now and I love what you're, the vibe that you're bringing to the table as well.

• 2:05Brooke Averick?

  Thank you.

• 2:06Speaker 03

Um, first of all, I want to just say. Thank you guys so much for 100, for 100K on YouTube. I begged everybody, begged on my hands and knees. And you, everybody came through. I shouldn't be shocked, but here we are.

• 2:26Brooke Averick?

We really appreciate it and we love all 100K of you. And I don't know if we told you guys, but our sweet, dear love of our life Izzy, had, she fell off her, her horse fell on her. Something horrible happened with her horse. And she broke her pelvis and she has not been here for the past few weeks and will continue to not be here for a while, but we feel her here in the studio in spirit. And she left us a note. Connor, I'm gonna read it to you. It's so sweet.

• 2:58Speaker 03

  Aww.

• 2:59Brooke Averick?

Roses are red, this fat ass. No, sorry. Let me take it from the top.

• 3:05Speaker 03

  Yeah.

• 3:05Brooke Averick?

Roses are red, this ass is fat. 100K subscribers have entered the chat. Now I'm stuck at home with FOMO and miss and love you.

• 3:15Speaker 03

  That's funny.

• 3:17Brooke Averick?

Like, so many of you, like Izzy is so fucking funny. It's insane. That's all I wanted to say. We miss her, we love her, hope her pelvis fuses back together like immediately. Our girl's in a wheelchair.

• 3:29Speaker 03

Here's what I, here's what I need from everyone right now. First of all, my ride's here. Can you guys share it?

• 3:35Brooke Averick?

Did you go to the restroom?

• 3:38Speaker 03

No, there's an ambulance just running its fucking mouth. Running its mouth, that's on, won't stop. Second of all, I need this like face tracking thing on Zoom to stop. Like, look at this.

• 3:52Brooke Averick?

  I kinda like it.

• 3:54Speaker 03

  That's definitely fun.

• 3:55Brooke Averick?

  Beautiful decor, by the way.

• 3:58Speaker 03

  Don't get me twisted.

• 3:58Brooke Averick?

Oh my God, is that guy smoking a stogie?

• 4:01Speaker 03

Yeah, this is like show your voice, when he's wood.

• 4:04Brooke Averick?

Wow. Look how cool he looks.

• 4:07Speaker 03

  Yeah, he looks really cool.

• 4:10Speaker 03

Um, but let's, let's, let's not get it twisted. Let's, let's like, let's like stay on track.

• 4:15Brooke Averick?

  Okay.

• 4:16Speaker 03

  As F.

• 4:19Brooke Averick?

I did learn that cigars do have nicotine in them. My bad.

• 4:24Speaker 03

  Yeah.

• 4:24Brooke Averick?

I just don't see people getting addicted to cigars, like the way you see people getting addicted to cigarettes.

• 4:31Speaker 03

Oh no, people are addicted to cigars.

• 4:32Brooke Averick?

I didn't know that. And I admit that.

• 4:35Speaker 03

Did the cigar community attack you?

• 4:37Brooke Averick?

I don't know if it was the cigar community as much as just like everyone else, but I, yeah, I definitely got some, some comments, which is fine. I'm open and receptive as always.

• 4:53Speaker 03

One thing about you is you've always been open and receptive.

• 4:56Brooke Averick?

  I agree.

• 4:57Speaker 03

One thing about me is I don't know what I did that was evil in a past life for me to wake up with that Bruno Mars and Lady Gaga song stuck in my head.

• 5:05Brooke Averick?

Oh yeah. What, how's it go?

• 5:08Speaker 03

  If the world is you.

• 5:10Brooke Averick?

  Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.

• 5:11Speaker 03

I'm gonna be this. I like, I don't even know the words. How, like, how unfair is it that first of all, I wake up with that?

• 5:19Brooke Averick?

It's probably better to not know the words in this case.

• 5:22Speaker 03

It's not because I just tried to explain to you what song it was and I literally can't think.

• 5:26Brooke Averick?

Well, I, I, you communicated it. I know. I'd want to be stuck with you, I think.

• 5:31Speaker 03

The tune. Yeah, but it's. If the world was.

• 5:38Brooke Averick?

Why are you wearing those glasses?

• 5:40Speaker 03

  What?

• 5:40Brooke Averick?

Why are you wearing those glasses?

• 5:42Speaker 03

I just think they're fun and stuff. I think that they're like cool for the future.

• 5:47Brooke Averick?

I like them. Can you tell us like what's going on if you have an apartment, et cetera?

• 5:53Speaker 03

Yeah. Okay. So guys, I am in New York City and I am here and I will not change who I am for anybody. I've always been right here, right now. I am myself.

• 6:13Speaker 03

And that's who I was born to be, you know?

• 6:18Brooke Averick?

Do you or do you not have an apartment?

• 6:21Speaker 03

Yes. Oh, my gosh, I love that. I love that. Um, no.

• 6:28Brooke Averick?

  Are you hungover?

• 6:30Speaker 03

  No.

• 6:31Brooke Averick?

  Okay. Are you currently drunk?

• 6:35Speaker 03

  No, I'm drinking kombucha.

• 6:37Brooke Averick?

Okay, maybe that does have alcohol in it.

• 6:40Speaker 03

  Oh, it does?

• 6:40Brooke Averick?

  Yeah.

• 6:41Speaker 03

That pregnant women cannot drink kombucha.

• 6:43Brooke Averick?

  They can't?

• 6:43Speaker 03

Okay, what I was gonna say was, I did get an apartment. I got an apartment on, uh, yesterday officially, they were, yeah, you got approved and it went through.

• 6:53Brooke Averick?

  Yay, Connor!

• 6:55Speaker 03

  Thank you. Technically, Saturday.

• 6:59Speaker 03

  Oh!

• 7:01Speaker 03

Technically, Saturday, they were like, your application was approved, but we've all seen what happens there. So, until it went all the way through, I didn't want to tell anyone I got something.

• 7:13Brooke Averick?

  Yeah.

• 7:14Speaker 03

And it's still like, I haven't signed a lease yet.

• 7:16Brooke Averick?

  Okay.

• 7:17Speaker 03

  Um.

• 7:17Brooke Averick?

  When do you do that?

• 7:19Speaker 03

That's a great question, and that's an honest question. That's a truthful question. I don't know, and no one will tell me.

• 7:26Brooke Averick?

  Okay.

• 7:27Speaker 03

I know that like, everybody looks for apartments, and I know that everybody has a hard time. I think I had the hardest, I think I was given the hardest challenge of everyone.

• 7:39Brooke Averick?

No, I always feel that way. Whenever I'm doing literally anything, I'm like, everyone else must be experiencing something different.

• 7:46Speaker 03

There is no way, no way, everyone experiences what I experienced, because no one would ever move.

• 7:54Brooke Averick?

That's what I felt about getting my license in California.

• 7:57Speaker 03

No one would ever get their license.

• 7:59Brooke Averick?

  Yeah.

• 8:00Speaker 03

I truly felt like someone was playing a prank on me. Every time I found an apartment, they'd be like, oop, you should have applied four seconds ago. I was like, you just sent me the link like a minute ago.

• 8:10Brooke Averick?

  Yeah.

• 8:11Speaker 03

So how could I have applied in the past?

• 8:13Brooke Averick?

New York, I think, is just like in a league of its own.

• 8:17Speaker 03

So I did sign sight unseen.

• 8:20Brooke Averick?

  Oh, you went sight unseen?

• 8:22Speaker 03

Sight unseen. I walked there yesterday, because yesterday was like my first day here. And, uh, it's in a great location.

• 8:31Speaker 03

  It is.

• 8:32Brooke Averick?

  Did you go inside?

• 8:33Speaker 03

No, I couldn't go. Now, now, I couldn't go inside. The location I can speak to, it's gorgeous. But they were, they were painting the hallway. So that's the update that I have right now.

• 8:44Brooke Averick?

  Okay.

• 8:45Speaker 03

But it's, it's, it's nice. And here's the other thing I was gonna say. If you are looking for an apartment in New York City at any point in the future, please remind yourself that this is no longer the game that you're familiar with. This is, they brought back the broker, or no, they got rid of the broker's fee. Which like, we don't have in LA.

• 9:10Brooke Averick?

I always thought that like, New York and LA real estate was like similar in terms of price and stuff. I didn't, New York is like, my apartment would be three times as much as New York.

• 9:23Brooke Averick?

  Which I didn't realize.

• 9:24Speaker 03

  One hundred percent, yeah.

• 9:26Brooke Averick?

Like LA, like, seems like cheap compared to it.

• 9:30Speaker 03

I mean, if you could even find your place in New York.

• 9:33Brooke Averick?

  You couldn't.

• 9:34Speaker 03

LA, LA is cheap compared to New York.

• 9:36Brooke Averick?

  Yeah.

• 9:38Speaker 03

What, the size wise? But, um, they brought back the broker's fee. Which like, there's the landlord, there's the leasing agent.

• 9:53Speaker 03

There is the broker. What does the broker do? I don't know. No one knows what the broker does. The broker is this just like, all seeing eye that collects a debt. Like, that no one owes them. They sit in the apartment, basically like, they're sitting in the apartment, I have a leasing agent that found the apartment. There's the landlord that's renting the apartment out. And then there's just an individual standing there like a troll before a bridge. And they're like, give me my money. And that's literally, I'm, I'm just like paying someone.

• 10:31Brooke Averick?

  What does a real estate?

• 10:33Speaker 03

  Broker.

• 10:34Brooke Averick?

Do. A real estate broker helps people buy, sell and lease properties.

• 10:39Speaker 03

Yeah, that kind of sounds like a real estate agent.

• 10:41Brooke Averick?

They ensure that transactions go smoothly.

• 10:44Speaker 03

Yeah, by taking. A large sum of-

• 10:47Brooke Averick?

They oversee the transactions between buyer and seller? So they watch you sign the lease?

• 10:52Speaker 03

Like, are they a notary? I'll do that somewhere else.

• 10:56Brooke Averick?

Yeah, I don't know. And is that a substantial fee?

• 11:00Speaker 03

  Yeah.

• 11:01Brooke Averick?

  Yay.

• 11:02Speaker 03

Yeah, it's a substantial fee. And what is so awesome is I was so desperate and I was so scared

• 11:10Speaker 03

that my agent was like, I really think you should give the broker a little bump and pay. And I was like, excuse me? Cause I didn't even know I was paying the broker. And he was like, no, I think that you should up it by like, a little bit.

• 11:26Brooke Averick?

To make sure you get the apartment?

• 11:28Speaker 03

Yeah, I had to bribe the broker that like, oh my gosh, should I bribe the broker?

• 11:37Brooke Averick?

And you ended up bribing the broker?

• 11:40Speaker 03

  I bribed the broker, yeah.

• 11:41Brooke Averick?

Can I ask how much you were supposed to pay the broker? And then how much you did pay the broker?

• 11:47Speaker 03

I don't think it would be appropriate to say out loud.

• 11:49Brooke Averick?

  Really? Is it that much?

• 11:51Speaker 03

  Yeah.

• 11:51Brooke Averick?

  Wow.

• 11:52Speaker 03

And anyone in New York will vouch for me. And anyone that doesn't live in New York and lives somewhere like, completely where stuff is not overpriced and grossly dislike, grossly overpriced, is gonna laugh. So I cannot, I cannot say.

• 12:09Brooke Averick?

  You cannot.

• 12:09Speaker 03

  I will not say.

• 12:10Brooke Averick?

Wow. So when can you theoretically move in once you sign your lease?

• 12:15Speaker 03

  March 1st, but

• 12:18Speaker 03

  I will be on tour.

• 12:19Brooke Averick?

  Yay.

• 12:19Speaker 03

So, that's great. And all my stuff. Now, let me just hop over to move out.

• 12:27Brooke Averick?

  Okay.

• 12:28Speaker 03

So I moved out over the weekend, out of my old apartment. Which, by the way, yesterday was my first day of waking up here. Already miss it.

• 12:36Brooke Averick?

  No, we're not doing this.

• 12:37Speaker 03

  Yeah. Oh my god, yeah.

• 12:39Brooke Averick?

  No.

• 12:40Speaker 03

  Like, yeah, I do.

• 12:41Brooke Averick?

  No.

• 12:42Speaker 03

Now that I don't live there, I can say where I live, right?

• 12:45Brooke Averick?

  Oh yeah, totally.

• 12:46Speaker 03

So I lived, drum roll, please?

• 12:52Speaker 03

I feel like people already- Someone showed up my ass twice. So like I feel like people.

• 12:57Brooke Averick?

I feel like you never really posted it like from the angle of like, oh, I live there.

• 13:03Speaker 03

How horrible is that? Because I, that's the whole reason I live there.

• 13:07Brooke Averick?

But now you can like bust it out.

• 13:09Speaker 03

Let me bust this out real quick. I lived on the Venice canals and I found a great place that was on the canals, on the water. And if you're not familiar with the Venice canals, they were modeled after the Venice Italy canals, but they're in Venice Beach, California. And they are gross and they're disgusting sometimes.

• 13:32Brooke Averick?

  But they're.

• 13:33Speaker 03

They have absolutely nothing to do with Venice canals in Italy. They sometimes are just swamp.

• 13:42Speaker 03

Hunter, our friend would, would say, you live on the swamp. You should live in Louisiana.

• 13:50Speaker 03

But when they were nice and they didn't smell like mud and dirt and bugs, they were flowing. Oh, were they flowing? And I would turn on Jack Johnson in the morning and I'd be out on my patio on the water. Look at all the people walk by and say, yeah, I live here. Yeah.

• 14:09Brooke Averick?

When they were nice, they were nice.

• 14:11Speaker 03

When they were nice, they were nice.

• 14:13Brooke Averick?

Nice. But that is obviously like why you had so many like moisture based issues in the home.

• 14:20Speaker 03

  Yep.

• 14:21Brooke Averick?

I would categorize them as moisture based issues.

• 14:24Speaker 03

Right. But, but, but it was all worth it and it was so sweet to live over there. And I got a little sad. So I was like, oh.

• 14:31Brooke Averick?

  You got a little what?

• 14:33Speaker 03

  Sad. There's no like.

• 14:34Brooke Averick?

  Oh, sad.

• 14:35Speaker 03

Venice canals equivalent in New York, I fear.

• 14:38Brooke Averick?

There's no Venice canals equivalent anywhere, even the canals in Italy. Like. Remember when you were like, I'm moving to the canals. And I was like, are you kidding? Cause I had thought the canals I were a different location. I thought they were, there was like this puddle. With like a sewage pipe in Venice and one of my friends had pointed out to me like, oh, those are the Venice canals. And I was like, are you kidding? Like, those are terrible. Cause he also thought they were the canals. And so I had thought you were moving to the pipe. That whole time.

• 15:07Speaker 03

You thought I was moving to the pipe?

• 15:08Brooke Averick?

Yeah, cuz I had mistook the canals for a sewage pipe with big puddle. But then I went to your house and I was like, oh, this is lovely.

• 15:16Speaker 03

It was, it was lovely at the time. Yeah, so, um, I miss it. I miss the rage.

• 15:24Brooke Averick?

Did someone already get your apartment?

• 15:26Speaker 03

  Yeah.

• 15:27Brooke Averick?

  Wow.

• 15:28Speaker 03

  Someone's moved in.

• 15:29Brooke Averick?

  Wow.

• 15:31Speaker 03

  Isn't that weird?

• 15:32Brooke Averick?

  Yeah.

• 15:33Speaker 03

Like, I am out and they're moved in.

• 15:35Brooke Averick?

  Wow.

• 15:37Speaker 03

  So, here's the thing.

• 15:39Brooke Averick?

  Tell us.

• 15:40Speaker 03

I was moving out over the weekend and I did not hire movers.

• 15:45Brooke Averick?

You are so strong for that.

• 15:47Speaker 03

I said, there's something about me where I said, I, I can't pay someone to do something that I can, I can do on my own. And then I, besides Uber and Uber Eats.

• 16:04Speaker 03

  And TaskRabbit.

• 16:06Brooke Averick?

You weren't in the mood right then to pay someone for something that you could do on your own.

• 16:10Speaker 03

Yeah, it's like a little bit weird. It's a little bit weird cuz I was like, I can do this.

• 16:17Speaker 03

I will never, ever, ever, ever move without movers again. That was such an incredible waste of my time. Next thing, I will never, ever, ever buy anything else again. I need not one more thing. I don't need to own one more thing in my house.

• 16:44Brooke Averick?

That is a universal feeling after moving, is going full minimalist and then before you know it.

• 16:50Speaker 03

  I own.

• 16:51Brooke Averick?

You have a set of, you have a set of Legos.

• 16:54Speaker 03

Brooke, I had three sets of Legos. I had, and I kept them, but I, you know, you're talking to a guy that's had a meatball in a cup for four years. So, I.

• 17:07Speaker 03

Was like, wake up, Cole. There's no reason to have, you know, all of this stuff. It was so horrible. I did like three Goodwill runs. The neighborhood was coming over to take random stuff.

• 17:19Brooke Averick?

Estate sale, the estate sale on the canals.

• 17:22Speaker 03

I had, I had an estate sale.

• 17:23Brooke Averick?

  Yeah.

• 17:24Speaker 03

Yeah. Except it was just a free for all.

• 17:27Brooke Averick?

  Yeah.

• 17:28Speaker 03

  But the people came through.

• 17:29Brooke Averick?

  They really did.

• 17:29Speaker 03

I just can't believe how many iPhone boxes I had. What was I saving those for?

• 17:36Brooke Averick?

They're so sturdy that it feels so wrong to throw them away.

• 17:41Speaker 03

I would love to sit down and have a talk with the person that makes Apple product boxes and say, hey, it's never been that serious.

• 17:54Brooke Averick?

  Cause like.

• 17:54Speaker 03

Make these, make, make boxes disposable.

• 17:57Brooke Averick?

Lindsay, cause when you were a kid, a box like that, like you would have saved and kept it as a treasure chest. So it's like really hard to depart, to depart with it as an adult.

• 18:06Speaker 03

Right, but you can't store anything in it.

• 18:09Brooke Averick?

  Treasure.

• 18:10Speaker 03

  It sucks. The box sucks.

• 18:12Brooke Averick?

  So how do you?

• 18:13Speaker 03

  Frankly.

• 18:14Brooke Averick?

Get all your stuff? Or where is all your stuff?

• 18:17Speaker 03

I love that question. So I moved all my stuff to a storage unit.

• 18:23Brooke Averick?

  Okay.

• 18:23Speaker 03

And it's sitting there because I didn't have an apartment yet. It's sitting there in a unit. And I will be, so if anyone sees me in the same clothes for the next like month, and I'm not exaggerating when I say month, mind your business, I'm living out of a suitcase and I'm being so serious. I will just have the clothes that are in my suitcase right now.

• 18:46Brooke Averick?

Did you like keep any of your furniture?

• 18:49Speaker 03

I sold every piece of furniture that I own.

• 18:51Brooke Averick?

  Wow. Start fresh.

• 18:53Speaker 03

I have to because I didn't know where I was moving and I wasn't sure if it was going to be really hard to get something upstairs.

• 18:59Brooke Averick?

  Hmm.

• 19:01Speaker 03

  Hmm, yes, yes.

• 19:03Brooke Averick?

  That's true.

• 19:05Speaker 03

And turns out, I was right, because it will be impossible for me to get a couch.

• 19:12Brooke Averick?

I saw, uh, Will and Arden just moved and they, someone, they hired someone to hoist their couch, like via rope to the third floor and like put it through the window.

• 19:26Speaker 03

  They got a hoister?

• 19:26Brooke Averick?

  They got a hoister.

• 19:28Speaker 03

  Hoister's in my pocket.

• 19:30Brooke Averick?

But like, I don't, that must be a big window, huh?

• 19:33Speaker 03

My windows are not Will and Arden sized.

• 19:36Brooke Averick?

You need a couch, so like, there has to be a way.

• 19:40Speaker 03

There has to be a way. I fear it's just gonna be one of, it's gonna be a couch that's like, break apart into twenty little pieces, like Legos.

• 19:48Brooke Averick?

Mine breaks apart, or mine just like, is it, is little sections.

• 19:52Speaker 03

Oh, then yeah, I'll have something like that.

• 19:54Brooke Averick?

  Yeah.

• 19:55Speaker 03

  And I love your couch.

• 19:57Brooke Averick?

Thanks, me too. It's, I'm still waiting on, uh, putting it together for a rainy day.

• 20:03Speaker 03

  Like connecting the parts?

• 20:04Brooke Averick?

  Connecting the dots.

• 20:06Speaker 03

  Are they not connected?

• 20:07Brooke Averick?

No, and every time I sit or lay down, they slide apart.

• 20:10Speaker 03

  It splits apart.

• 20:10Brooke Averick?

And like, literally everything I own is in the cracks.

• 20:13Speaker 03

  Ew, not in the cracks.

• 20:15Brooke Averick?

Yeah. I could have an estate sale with just the stuff in the cracks.

• 20:21Speaker 03

Oh, gosh, I was, yeah, I was like moving it apart and I was like, my, my keys!

• 20:25Brooke Averick?

  Been looking for those.

• 20:27Speaker 03

Um, when I, cause I, the, the couch sold in like, my leather couch sold in like, twenty-five minutes to someone in Inglewood, and they were like, we're on our way. And I was like, damn, should I have made it more expensive? And then they started taking it apart and they were like, are these your keys? And I was like, oh yeah, thank you. They were like, do you want this cash?

• 20:52Speaker 03

Oh, this is not enough. They're like, no, this was in your couch. Do you want your remote? I was like, where are you pulling this out from? It was like, it was bubble bath.

• 21:00Brooke Averick?

  Yeah.

• 21:00Speaker 03

Like under his tongue, they're pulling, my pickles.

• 21:03Brooke Averick?

  Yeah.

• 21:03Speaker 03

They, like, pulling out all of this treasure. And I was like, where was all this stuff? They're like, in your couch. Did you never lift the cushions? No, why would I ever, why would I lift the cushions?

• 21:14Brooke Averick?

  Good point.

• 21:15Speaker 03

I got a new key made. Like I had my landlord make new keys because I didn't realize they were in the couch.

• 21:20Brooke Averick?

  Yeah.

• 21:21Speaker 00

• 22:21Brooke Averick?

Yeah, so I have to talk about something.

• 22:25Speaker 03

  Hit me, mama.

• 22:27Brooke Averick?

Obviously have to preface with like, I know there are worse things. Let me get that out of the way. Like, I'm grateful for my health. I'm grateful for my safety and my family's health and safety.

• 22:42Speaker 03

  Sure, sure.

• 22:44Brooke Averick?

And I know things could be worse, but on the other hand, things couldn't be worse right now for me.

• 22:52Speaker 03

  Okay.

• 22:53Brooke Averick?

  Um, something bad has happened.

• 22:58Speaker 03

  Hmm.

• 22:59Brooke Averick?

Uh, I've spoken a little bit about my Invisalign journey and just like my teeth. But let me run it back for you so that we can get to where we need to be.

• 23:13Brooke Averick?

Basically, when I was younger, age 10, I had braces, okay?

• 23:19Speaker 03

  Right.

• 23:19Brooke Averick?

Age 12, graduated from braces, never wore my retainer.

• 23:24Brooke Averick?

It's too young, you're too young to understand the stakes at that age of wearing your retainer.

• 23:32Brooke Averick?

And that's just a way for me to not accept responsibility right now for me not wearing my retainer, but I still do believe that 12 is too young to understand the stakes. Anyway, never wore my retainer. Okay. My teeth went back pretty much to the way they were, which was bad. Okay. So I had like two, one really big snaggletooth and one kind of tiny snaggletooth. Okay. And if you go back to my videos in like 2020, you can see the snaggletooth. And they never really bothered me because I was just like, oh, like it adds character. But then obviously people started commenting on it. And I was like, oh my God, yeah, those are actually horrible as it goes. And so instead of like getting Invisalign,

• 24:16Brooke Averick?

I had them bonded, which means the dentist just like fills them in with like a fake tooth material. And so those two teeth on the side of my big teeth were like massive, the size of my two front teeth, because they were like mostly fake filling in the space. Okay.

• 24:32Speaker 03

  Yeah.

• 24:34Brooke Averick?

Fast forward to now, I tell the orthodontist, hey, like, I don't want any more bonding. Like, I want all that out and just to have like my natural teeth closed. So she was like, okay, let's do that. I've already had Invisalign for six months. So things have moved around a lot. Okay. And then I got the bonding taken off three days ago.

• 24:58Speaker 03

  Okay.

• 25:00Brooke Averick?

Connor, this is not what it was before, because things have moved around. I have a space in my mouth that I can put my pinky in. It looks like I am missing a tooth because things have moved in a way that has created that effect. I don't know what to do with myself.

• 25:28Brooke Averick?

What you're seeing right now is me wearing my retainer that I wear at nighttime because I'm in between. I had to get scanned for like the new trace to come in to close the space. So I don't even have something actively closing the space. This is just a retainer that I was so hysterical that the orthodontist painted it white inside. So you can't tell that I'm fully missing a tooth.

• 25:51Speaker 03

  Right.

• 25:53Brooke Averick?

  Okay.

• 25:53Speaker 03

  Right. Okay.

• 25:55Brooke Averick?

But if I were to go out to an event as I did last night and there was food at the event. I have to take it off and I have to go full toothless in pub. So last night there was a charcuterie board at the event and I wasn't willing to go toothless. And it was, I had to eat the charcuterie.

• 26:16Brooke Averick?

I was, I was swallowing little pieces of salami like pills whole because I couldn't chew with my retainer in and I wouldn't take it out.

• 26:27Brooke Averick?

I was just going pill mode.

• 26:29Speaker 03

Wait, how long is it gonna take for them to get the gap to be?

• 26:32Brooke Averick?

She said that it will look, and like even the dentist and the orthodontist were both like.

• 26:39Brooke Averick?

  This really looks bad.

• 26:42Brooke Averick?

Like there's no sugar coating and my friends are like, it's temporary. And I called my mom who literally just is the queen of telling me what I want to hear. Like my whole life I have called her when I just need to hear what I need to hear. I show her, she gasps. Full gasp. Then she says, it will look fine if you go out at night in the dark. And then I had my sweatshirt covering my mouth. And then she goes, oh, it looks fine now. Okay.

• 27:13Brooke Averick?

Okay. Thank you. Thank you. So she couldn't even tell me it was okay. But the orthodontist said I should feel comfortable showing my face, basically. And about like.

• 27:24Speaker 03

That's what a therapist would say.

• 27:26Brooke Averick?

I like, I should be comfortable in about a month. Like there will still be a space, but it will not, I will not be able to fit my finger in it.

• 27:32Speaker 03

Wait, what did they do at the dentist that? They say it's gonna be fixed.

• 27:38Brooke Averick?

  What do you mean?

• 27:38Speaker 03

Are your teeth getting a memo?

• 27:40Brooke Averick?

No, I'm getting it closed with the Invisalign.

• 27:42Speaker 03

  The Invisalign?

• 27:43Brooke Averick?

Yeah, the In- like, now my real teeth will all be it. Like, I won't have any more of the fake tooth. So the two teeth on my sides are like actually really, really tiny. And before they were like massive.

• 27:54Speaker 03

  Look forward to that.

• 27:56Brooke Averick?

And they, but they're so tiny, they're like little Tic Tacs. But I think like in the end, like I will be happy with my teeth, but in the interim, like I can't show face. And we have an event in two weeks. Or something in New York that's like an eat and stuff. You're gonna have to like stand by me as I either swallow salami like pills. Or eat behind you.

• 28:20Speaker 03

  I will.

• 28:20Brooke Averick?

It's literally like walking around with your front tooth missing. I'm not even kidding and I'm not, I like, I can't stress enough that I'm not being dramatic. They were able to expedite Invisalign trays because usually it would take a month for the ones that are gonna start closing it to come in. And I was like, you, there's gotta be another way. So she is the love of my life, my worth it on us, and she, she put them on expedited mode. So they should be here soon.

• 28:45Speaker 03

  That's exciting.

• 28:45Brooke Averick?

That's exciting. But I'm like literally hysterical right now.

• 28:49Speaker 03

Okay, you're not gonna like care about me saying this, but it doesn't look to me like I like see you, like I don't notice it.

• 28:56Brooke Averick?

  Well, cuz my retainer's in.

• 28:57Speaker 03

Until you shoved your entire tongue through that gap. Like I didn't notice how big it was.

• 29:04Brooke Averick?

It's, full tongue goes through it.

• 29:06Speaker 03

  Yeah.

• 29:07Brooke Averick?

And like feeling it constant, I wear my retainer even when I'm alone in the house cuz I can't bear to feel it.

• 29:13Speaker 03

Yeah, that was the first time I was like, oh, it's a gap.

• 29:17Brooke Averick?

And what's crazy is there's also a gap on the other side that you don't even notice because the other one is so glaring, your eye can't go anywhere else.

• 29:25Speaker 03

  Well, that's nice.

• 29:27Brooke Averick?

It is, it is like one silver lining.

• 29:29Speaker 03

Cuz I don't see any two, I don't see any two gaps, I just see the one gap.

• 29:34Brooke Averick?

Yes, so I am like a little bit hysterical. Again, I know it could be worse. Again, it also could not be worse. And also I asked on our story, like, can anyone like give me some aesthetic, uh, like nightmares that you've had to make me feel better about like what's going on with my teeth? And everyone responded like, I don't think your teeth look that bad. You have, you have, you have actually not seen, so what you were referring to was just my teeth. That, my regular, my old, my regular old teeth that were. Just chunky. So I'm like in a like manic state because of because of this and will be for the about the next month and a half or so. And I've had to put my dating life on hold.

• 30:16Speaker 03

  No.

• 30:17Brooke Averick?

  I know. Can you believe?

• 30:20Speaker 03

  Shit.

• 30:20Brooke Averick?

  I know.

• 30:21Speaker 03

Can you guys really not hear?

• 30:22Brooke Averick?

  I just heard that honk.

• 30:23Speaker 03

  Okay.

• 30:24Brooke Averick?

  I just heard that honk.

• 30:27Speaker 03

Like basically, and without exaggerating at all, there's a genuine construction site outside that started about five minutes ago.

• 30:36Brooke Averick?

  Yeah, I believe it.

• 30:37Speaker 03

Yes, I believe it. Um, what was I gonna say? Crap. Oh, are you having dreams about your teeth falling out because your gap?

• 30:47Brooke Averick?

I don't even sleep, Connor. I don't sleep well enough to have dreams.

• 30:50Speaker 03

  Why?

• 30:51Brooke Averick?

Because because of my tooth. I have like been so fixated on it, like in a very like OCD way. I'll get up every 10 minutes to look in the mirror and see if it's still as bad. And it always is.

• 31:03Speaker 03

  Oh, my.

• 31:04Brooke Averick?

But there are very rare moments when I'll forget about it and then look in the mirror and just like shock and horror.

• 31:09Speaker 03

I don't think it looks bad.

• 31:11Brooke Averick?

It's not even worth saying. I appreciate it.

• 31:13Speaker 03

I mean, I'm not. I'm not stroking your cock when I say that.

• 31:17Brooke Averick?

You are fully stroking my cock when you say that.

• 31:20Speaker 03

I'm not. I think that it doesn't look that bad.

• 31:23Brooke Averick?

It's horrible. And no, I can't show anyone. Maybe like once it's closed a little, I can show you how how it is now, but not at a time like this. I can't reveal.

• 31:33Speaker 03

  Oh, hang in there, sister.

• 31:35Brooke Averick?

Thanks, sister. And now I just like can't stop looking at everyone's teeth and being like, do you even get it? How lucky you are? And then everyone else is like, no, like I had a space in my teeth when I was eight. Okay, I'm 28. So that's not helpful. Thank you, though. And it's not a space. It's a missing tooth.

• 31:58Speaker 03

It's not a physical missing. You're not missing.

• 32:00Brooke Averick?

I'm not kidding. There are teeth bigger than the size of the gap. Like I'm in like, I'm in, I'm sorry, I'm in shell shock by my mouth.

• 32:13Speaker 03

  Lord have mercy.

• 32:14Brooke Averick?

  Yeah.

• 32:15Speaker 03

  Did you watch?

• 32:16Brooke Averick?

  What?

• 32:16Speaker 03

Did you watch the Super Bowl?

• 32:19Brooke Averick?

Um, go Birds, am I right?

• 32:22Speaker 03

Okay, I have this new tic.

• 32:26Speaker 03

Where like anytime anyone says anything, I like, I, I, I have never said go birds in my life.

• 32:32Brooke Averick?

You can't stop saying go birds?

• 32:32Speaker 03

No, like I called to change a reservation for dinner last night and they were like, well, we could do, 7:15, we can't do seven. I go, all right, well, go birds. Like I literally didn't even.

• 32:46Brooke Averick?

Thank you for letting me know, go birds.

• 32:48Speaker 03

Instead of thank you, I was all right, go birds.

• 32:50Brooke Averick?

  Oh, I love that.

• 32:51Speaker 03

Yeah, I'd say it's just like stuck, stuck in my, wherever all my chicks are.

• 32:57Brooke Averick?

  Probably in my tooth gap.

• 32:59Speaker 03

It's, it's, it's sliding right past the security in your, in your tooth gap.

• 33:03Brooke Averick?

I'm sure it fell right out because there's nothing keeping it in.

• 33:09Brooke Averick?

Were you rooting for the birds?

• 33:11Speaker 03

  Why your tooth gap?

• 33:12Brooke Averick?

Oh my God. I mean, this like, this has nothing on why your tooth brown, why your tooth gone?

• 33:18Speaker 03

  Why your tooth?

• 33:18Brooke Averick?

Why your tooth missing, girl? You 28.

• 33:20Speaker 03

Why your tooth, where your tooth at 28? Yes, I was rooting for the birds, the Eagles.

• 33:27Brooke Averick?

Did you feel like a little bit connected to them because of my heritage?

• 33:32Speaker 03

I think, yeah, well, like to be frank.

• 33:35Brooke Averick?

  Okay.

• 33:35Speaker 03

And to be fair, and to be honest and truthful, I, that was the only reason I felt connected to the birds.

• 33:44Brooke Averick?

  Oh, that's so sweet.

• 33:45Speaker 03

Because you know how when like, I have no connection to the Chiefs at all, nothing.

• 33:50Brooke Averick?

  Yeah.

• 33:51Speaker 03

The Eagles are the closest, they're like an East Coast team, they're, they're close to like the Patriots, which used to be my team. And then it, it felt like the right thing to do.

• 34:01Brooke Averick?

  Yeah.

• 34:02Speaker 03

Now, I, I also like, sorry to everyone that.

• 34:06Brooke Averick?

Just you're just, you're gonna have to try to ignore it.

• 34:09Speaker 03

Truckers for Eagles were here. Um, I, what was I even saying? Like it, like it yanked me out of my.

• 34:18Brooke Averick?

Something about rooting for the Eagles.

• 34:20Speaker 03

Well, everyone's gonna hate when I say this, but I.

• 34:22Brooke Averick?

I can't deal with the, with the camera. What's happening?

• 34:27Speaker 03

  I don't know.

• 34:28Brooke Averick?

  Like I'm getting completely seasick.

• 34:30Speaker 03

Does someone know how to turn that off?

• 34:35Brooke Averick?

You, thank you for bearing with us as we navigate our long distance relationship. How about you, you need to try just not moving because it's moving with you.

• 34:44Brooke Averick?

  Stay completely still.

• 34:47Brooke Averick?

  Nope, don't do that.

• 34:50Brooke Averick?

  Okay. Now talk. Nope.

• 34:54Speaker 03

Okay, and everyone's gonna get mad at me when I say this, but a part of me just wanted the Eagles to win.

• 35:00Speaker 03

Because like the Taylor Swift Travis Kelsey thing was just like.

• 35:06Speaker 03

I just wanted to see what would happen because I figured that. Obviously Travis Kelsey is gonna win. And Taylor Swift is gonna have like. Winning Super Bowl champion boyfriend, you know, like that makes sense. But like, I kind of had this thing where. I.

• 35:25Speaker 03

  I wanted.

• 35:29Brooke Averick?

If you could describe for the audio listeners, what's happening, what would you say?

• 35:34Speaker 03

Like my, my zoom is just like.

• 35:39Speaker 03

My zoom camera audio listeners is just like choosing where it wants to zoom in like randomly. Like, and it's like zooming in and out.

• 35:51Brooke Averick?

Like, it's making me so nauseous.

• 35:54Speaker 03

My zoom camera has free will and it's like using it.

• 35:59Brooke Averick?

  Okay, sorry.

• 36:00Speaker 03

No, it's like, I literally just, you know, when you're in like high school or whatever and are like younger and. You play like a, a learning game with your teacher and you're like, can we just see what happens when you, when you get it wrong?

• 36:13Brooke Averick?

  Yeah.

• 36:14Speaker 03

That's what I felt like with like Taylor Swift and Travis Kelsey. I was like, I don't, I don't want Travis Kelsey to win. I don't want the Chiefs to win because. I want to like see what happens.

• 36:22Brooke Averick?

  That makes sense.

• 36:23Speaker 03

And then all of a sudden I started getting the ick. I was like. When they were losing so bad, I was like. Wait. Wait, no, this is not supposed to happen. Like I was joking, I was joking. I'm thankful, I'm thankful, I'm thankful. You know, like. I was like. This feels like.

• 36:43Speaker 03

When you're making, like, when we make fun of like.

• 36:48Speaker 03

The government or something, but then you start thinking about like, we're making fun of our own government and like other countries. This is probably like an original dot and probably just something that I think. But like, when we make fun of like, Joe Biden for being so old and like falling downstairs, I'm like, what countries are watching us make fun of the president being like, oh, we should totally attack them. Like, it was giving me the same vibe as like, they're supposed to be like invincible.

• 37:17Brooke Averick?

Like you thought that someone was going to attack the Chiefs? Because, help me, help me understand.

• 37:24Speaker 03

No, it's just like, they're not supposed to lose, you know, like, I started getting scared. I was like, oh, wait, no, no, no, I don't want them to lose. But then I really liked the Eagles winning. I feel like Philadelphia is like deserved it. So.

• 37:40Brooke Averick?

  Thank you.

• 37:42Speaker 03

That being said, it was a boring ass game.

• 37:43Brooke Averick?

Right. That's what I, that's my understanding. I watched the second half. I obviously didn't understand anything, but no one in the room really like was having any reactions. But I'm happy, I'm so happy for my family, diehard Eagles fans.

• 38:00Speaker 03

  Oh.

• 38:01Brooke Averick?

My brother, my dad, I'm happy for you. I really am.

• 38:04Speaker 03

  E A G L E S Eagles.

• 38:08Brooke Averick?

  Go Birds.

• 38:09Speaker 03

Go Birds. Um, yeah, no, it was cool. I thought it was fine. And then, um, like, the discourse on the halftime show is so insane to me.

• 38:22Brooke Averick?

  I didn't, I missed it.

• 38:24Speaker 03

  You missed that?

• 38:24Brooke Averick?

I missed that I was driving to my friends to watch the game during the halftime show.

• 38:30Speaker 03

That's the only part that I feel like you would go to watch.

• 38:33Brooke Averick?

Well, I'm not like, you know.

• 38:39Brooke Averick?

  Like, I don't, I couldn't name you one song of, of Kendrick's, I fear.

• 38:44Speaker 03

No, you can, like, be humble. Be humble. Sit down.

• 38:49Brooke Averick?

  And watch?

• 38:50Speaker 03

  That's a song.

• 38:51Brooke Averick?

Oh. No, I don't know any.

• 38:54Speaker 03

You would, like, you, you do.

• 38:57Brooke Averick?

  I promise you, I don't. And it's-

• 39:01Speaker 03

I promise, I promise you genuinely, I'm saying this with my full chest, like, I promise you, you know Kendrick Lamar's song.

• 39:06Brooke Averick?

  Then give me one.

• 39:08Speaker 03

  I'm not gonna sing it.

• 39:09Brooke Averick?

  Why?

• 39:10Speaker 03

Is the thing. But you know the Drake diss track that we listen to on the podcast?

• 39:15Brooke Averick?

I heard he was dissing Drake live.

• 39:18Speaker 03

  He sang the song.

• 39:19Brooke Averick?

Yeah, but his, you know about his little A.

• 39:21Speaker 03

  His what?

• 39:22Brooke Averick?

  His little A.

• 39:24Speaker 03

  Well, yeah.

• 39:27Brooke Averick?

  Do you? A minor, yeah.

• 39:31Brooke Averick?

  His necklace.

• 39:32Speaker 03

  Yes, I do.

• 39:34Brooke Averick?

  I do too.

• 39:35Speaker 03

The businessman in me said, "That's an Amazon ad placement."

• 39:39Brooke Averick?

  No.

• 39:40Speaker 03

But I wonder how Amazon feels, biggest stage in the world, and their little A, the beginning of their logo, is a mine-

• 39:50Brooke Averick?

They don't own an A. They don't own the A.

• 39:53Speaker 03

  That's their logo.

• 39:55Brooke Averick?

But it's also just an A.

• 39:59Speaker 03

And that's what they chose to be their logo.

• 40:02Brooke Averick?

  I don't think Amazon's logo is a little A.

• 40:08Speaker 03

  I'm looking it up.

• 40:09Brooke Averick?

I think it's just Amazon in full.

• 40:12Speaker 03

  No.

• 40:14Brooke Averick?

What? Oh, yeah, it's a little A. Could you believe it? Yeah, I just said that. Gotcha.

• 40:22Speaker 03

Yeah, so I, I, I would, if I, I'd be feeling for Amazon. I also have to say something insane now. Like, this is like an insane take.

• 40:30Brooke Averick?

  Okay.

• 40:30Speaker 03

And I feel like I'm not being very funny today, I'm just being insane. I think it's the glasses, but, um, I felt like it was a little weird, like, calling Drake a pedophile at the Super Bowl in front of the whole world.

• 40:49Speaker 03

And I'm genuinely asking a question. Is, I know Drake, like, talks to, like, young people, but like-

• 40:58Brooke Averick?

I think that's a, like, a bigger conversation that people have differing opinions on.

• 41:02Speaker 03

  Okay.

• 41:02Brooke Averick?

  Just like the definition.

• 41:04Speaker 03

Maybe I don't know, but like, are we? Let's be careful not to throw words around, is what I'm saying.

• 41:12Brooke Averick?

Yeah. I personally don't know, like, too much about the situation.

• 41:17Speaker 03

  I don't either.

• 41:18Brooke Averick?

So I can't speak on it, but people, there has been problems with, like, people having different definitions of that word and how they use it.

• 41:27Speaker 03

Right. And I think that language, language is kind of losing its weight when we go on to the Super Bowl world stage and call someone a pedophile and everyone says it out loud.

• 41:38Brooke Averick?

Well, what I'm thinking is just like, he's giving Drake so much attention that like, I would start to be embarrassed. Like, you are thinking about him constantly and dedicating your performance to him.

• 41:49Speaker 03

Brooke, I am so aligned with that. You got to the world stage with that song that was like a diss track. I think it would have been really cool for him not to do that song, even though that's a song everybody knows. And that being said, I don't know if, like, I had a great time during the halftime show. Like, I don't know if that many people, like, you just said you don't know a Kendrick song. I don't know if, like, that many people really do, but I don't know.

• 42:15Brooke Averick?

But also, my thing is, like, if there's someone that I don't like, my goal is for them to think that I have not thought about them ever. That they have no real estate in my head. So that's why I say that.

• 42:32Speaker 03

  Me with bleep, bleep.

• 42:34Brooke Averick?

And me with bleep, bleep, bleep, bleep.

• 42:36Speaker 03

  Yeah.

• 42:37Brooke Averick?

And bleep, bleep, as well as bleep.

• 42:40Speaker 03

  And bleep as well.

• 42:43Brooke Averick?

  Exactly.

• 42:45Speaker 03

Yeah, I like could it could not be me doing my whole song and looking at the camera. But I thought it was good.

• 42:55Brooke Averick?

But but I loved it, so.

• 42:57Speaker 03

I I know I know half of America muted it.

• 43:00Brooke Averick?

But also half of America probably turned it way the hell up.

• 43:05Speaker 03

Yeah, no, I thought it was good.

• 43:07Brooke Averick?

  So.

• 44:38Brooke Averick?

But I was also looking back and like I know like people have different tastes in music and people love Kendrick and that's and that's great, I'm sure. Like he's very talented and everything, but I was looking back at like old Super Bowl halftime shows because I was being served them on TikTok and I was just like, damn. Like it was like Paul McCartney. And like the Rolling Stones and Aerosmith. I think I was born in the wrong musical era. Look, I like old, like Aerosmith, I don't want to miss a thing. I think that's the best song in the world, I think.

• 45:14Speaker 03

Don't want to miss a thing.

• 45:18Brooke Averick?

  Agree or disagree?

• 45:20Speaker 03

No, I agree. I think that song should, I think like, yeah, I think this Super Bowl has always been like rocking.

• 45:27Brooke Averick?

That's my male yearning playlist. Holy shit.

• 45:30Speaker 03

  That is male yearning.

• 45:31Brooke Averick?

That is male yearning, like personified.

• 45:36Speaker 03

Miley Cyrus, I guess, is talking about doing it next year. I think she'd be really good.

• 45:41Brooke Averick?

Oh, she would be. I'm honored to live in the same era as her.

• 45:46Speaker 03

Me too. I like when they do two people. Bruno Mars and Red Hot Chili Peppers is my favorite halftime show.

• 45:53Brooke Averick?

Oh, two people would be nice.

• 45:55Speaker 03

But I like when they do two different people. Like, I would like, like, a little Lynn and.

• 46:01Brooke Averick?

  I'm sure you would.

• 46:03Speaker 03

  Like Green Day.

• 46:04Brooke Averick?

Hope, Green Day at the Super Bowl. Oh, my God, is my tooth cap gonna be at Coachella? Great. Billy Joel and Trunk's gonna see my tooth cap. Awesome.

• 46:15Speaker 03

  Coachella's in two months.

• 46:16Brooke Averick?

I don't even have tickets or anything, but. Coachella's in two weeks?

• 46:21Speaker 03

  Two months.

• 46:23Brooke Averick?

Yeah, I will have a tooth cap, Connor. It will not be as bad, but I will have a tooth cap. That's how I think of time now.

• 46:31Speaker 03

In terms of tooth gap and its closure?

• 46:33Brooke Averick?

  Mm-hmm, mm-hmm.

• 46:34Speaker 03

You could sneak me in in your tooth gap.

• 46:36Brooke Averick?

I could literally sneak you on a plane in my tooth gap.

• 46:41Speaker 03

  You bring your.

• 46:42Brooke Averick?

Through TSA. Yeah, I could. I could. So scary. Anyway, I do hope to go to Coachella and see, and see Green Day despite, despite everything that's going on in my mouth.

• 46:54Speaker 03

  Despite, despite it all.

• 46:56Brooke Averick?

Despite everything that we've been through and all that, so.

• 46:59Speaker 03

You wanna hear this funny thing I've been doing recently? When people leave like a rude comment, it's like a random person on Instagram or TikTok, they leave like a mean comment. I say, hey, I just emailed this to your boss, like.

• 47:13Brooke Averick?

  Oh, that's funny.

• 47:14Speaker 03

Good luck on Monday. Good luck on Monday.

• 47:16Brooke Averick?

  Oh, love that.

• 47:17Speaker 03

Like, I didn't email it to their boss.

• 47:20Brooke Averick?

Of course. But I'm sure their stomach drops, which is all you could ask for.

• 47:25Speaker 03

Hey, I just emailed, this is your boss. Good luck on Monday. Like, that's the funniest thing in the world because you know that they're gonna think about it forever.

• 47:32Brooke Averick?

  Yeah, that's good.

• 47:34Speaker 03

Did they email it to my boss?

• 47:36Brooke Averick?

Right. And like, they can't be like, hey, did you get this email from this person who's shit I like left a mean comment on?

• 47:45Speaker 03

  Yeah, yeah, yeah.

• 47:47Brooke Averick?

  So they'll be thinking. Um.

• 47:50Speaker 03

The biggest thing you could do is, is get people thinking these days.

• 47:54Brooke Averick?

Uh huh. I've also been doing this new thing, and I am sorry to talk about my tooth again. Um, but you know, in that, in the hashling slasher episode of SpongeBob, he's like, everything is at night, like taking out the trash at night. And it's like, everything is at night.

• 48:10Speaker 03

  Yeah.

• 48:11Brooke Averick?

Well, I'll, like, in my head, I'm just like, driving into the studio without a tooth. Like, everything without a tooth at the end. Like, in my head, like, eating lunch without a tooth.

• 48:25Speaker 03

You are talking about it like you genuinely lost a tooth.

• 48:30Brooke Averick?

That is what it looks like.

• 48:34Speaker 03

How, um, where are your teeth moving from?

• 48:39Brooke Averick?

  I don't get it.

• 48:41Brooke Averick?

What do you mean? I also don't know.

• 48:43Speaker 03

Like, are they just all moving forward?

• 48:45Brooke Averick?

I don't know, baby. Like, I'm so confused.

• 48:49Brooke Averick?

  Maybe together?

• 48:51Speaker 03

Yeah, together, but they have to make.

• 48:52Brooke Averick?

But then, like, how will there not be a space somewhere else then? I don't know. I do trust my orthodontist with my life and the life of my firstborn.

• 49:04Brooke Averick?

So let's just hope for the best.

• 49:08Speaker 03

  Are you pregnant?

• 49:12Speaker 03

Congrats, mama. Let's get this mama, let's get this mama birthed.

• 49:17Brooke Averick?

My baby's gonna come out with no teeth.

• 49:23Speaker 03

  That never happens.

• 49:25Brooke Averick?

  I agree.

• 49:29Brooke Averick?

  Did you?

• 49:32Brooke Averick?

Whoa, moment of silence there. Um, did you see what Jeremy Strong? First of all, did you see Jeremy Strong's Super Bowl commercial?

• 49:39Speaker 03

  No.

• 49:40Brooke Averick?

He was in a Dunkin' Super Bowl commercial with, who was in it? Ben Affleck and Casey Affleck? Not Affleck, sorry, Affleck. Um, and he just like came out of a tub of like coffee beans and people are obviously like, why is Jeremy Strong in a Dunkin' commercial? Just because like, we know how seriously he takes his craft. His responses, let me read them to you.

• 50:09Brooke Averick?

He said he wanted to poke fun at this idea of him as this sententient. I wanted to poke fun at this idea of me as this sentent- s- sententious, self-serious actor. What?

• 50:23Speaker 03

  Sentient?

• 50:24Brooke Averick?

  No. S E N T E N T I O U S. Sententious.

• 50:32Brooke Averick?

I want to poke fun at this idea of me as the sententious, self-serious actor. It was my response to the idea that I don't get the joke. Okay?

• 50:42Speaker 03

  Yes.

• 50:44Brooke Averick?

And then he says, you have to be able to make a fool of yourself, king. Um, then, I've never done anything like this before, this before. This feels unnatural to me, but is there any latitude to create something? Is there freedom here?

• 50:58Speaker 03

  Woo!

• 50:59Brooke Averick?

Okay. And then he said, when I was a kid, my dad used to send me into Dunkin' Donuts in Sudbury, where I was growing up. And he would say, one cream, two sugars. I didn't really know the nomenclature of coffee, but one cream, two sugars was something I really knew. And for some reason, into my mind came Paul Revere saying, one if by land, two if by sea. Then I was like, I found it.

• 51:21Brooke Averick?

  King.

• 51:22Speaker 03

  Pardon?

• 51:23Brooke Averick?

Like, he's just like so him, so authentically himself, even like, if we think he's not taking this Dunkin' commercial as seriously as Jeremy Strong takes anything, we'd be sorely mistaken. He's putting his whole Jeremy Strong, uh, see into the Dunkin' commercial. And he compared him, like, coming out of the coffee beans to Martin Sheen in Apocalypse Now, which I get.

• 51:46Brooke Averick?

  Which I see.

• 51:47Speaker 03

  Okay.

• 51:49Brooke Averick?

Is this making sense to what I'm saying?

• 51:51Speaker 03

Like, yeah, but I I'm confused. I thought he said he was like, I I get the joke. I'm having fun.

• 51:58Brooke Averick?

I that's the like, I'm that's the thing. Like, this is his this is his fun.

• 52:06Brooke Averick?

He's like, yeah, I get it. One, one cream, two sugars.

• 52:11Speaker 03

  I really think.

• 52:12Brooke Averick?

If I land, two if I see.

• 52:14Speaker 03

He's like, genuinely, American Psycho actor.

• 52:19Brooke Averick?

I think it's like, he either doesn't get the joke, or he gets the joke so well.

• 52:25Brooke Averick?

  Does that make sense?

• 52:26Speaker 03

Well, there's nothing like, I get the joke. Let me explain why I get it. Like, that's like.

• 52:32Brooke Averick?

He is truly like, the light of my life. Jeremy S.

• 52:39Speaker 03

  I know you love him.

• 52:40Brooke Averick?

I do love Jeremy S. And you know who I love even more, though?

• 52:43Speaker 03

  Who?

• 52:44Brooke Averick?

  Kieran Culkin.

• 52:46Speaker 03

But like, this is so random, the people that you love. I'm sorry, I'm trying to find this thing about Jeremy Strong that I had saved last week.

• 52:55Brooke Averick?

  Oh, Connor.

• 52:56Speaker 03

  Yeah.

• 52:57Brooke Averick?

I tried watching Severance. I watched three episodes.

• 53:00Speaker 03

  How'd it go?

• 53:00Brooke Averick?

  I can't do it.

• 53:02Speaker 03

No, it's the scariest show on the planet. Does it not give you, like, existential?

• 53:08Brooke Averick?

No, but like, I usually I love, like, you know, Black Mirror is like my favorite show, and it is like that vibe, but I can't like, follow it.

• 53:16Speaker 03

  Well, Black Mirror.

• 53:17Brooke Averick?

God forbid I'm on my phone for one second. I'm toast. And obviously, I have to be on my phone for like, at least like, a moment in time.

• 53:25Speaker 03

  Whoa.

• 53:27Brooke Averick?

But it's like, moving really slowly for me. But I would like, I do like the concept.

• 53:35Speaker 03

What do you like about the concept? I think it's the scariest thing.

• 53:38Brooke Averick?

I like that it's like, yeah, this could happen, like Black Mirror.

• 53:44Speaker 03

  I like Black Mirror.

• 53:45Brooke Averick?

I love Black Mirror, and everyone should go see Companion.

• 53:49Speaker 03

I want to go see Companion. I just have.

• 53:50Brooke Averick?

  It's so good.

• 53:52Speaker 03

I have a hot take about Severance. Nothing bad should happen to people, like.

• 53:57Brooke Averick?

Do a lot of bad things happen to people?

• 54:01Speaker 03

Things, bad things happened like constantly to people and I don't think that we should be celebrating that.

• 54:08Brooke Averick?

I wouldn't say anyone's celebrating it, but like enjoying watching it.

• 54:13Speaker 03

Yeah, that's kind of like if someone made a TV show.

• 54:15Brooke Averick?

  Well, you stick to sitcoms.

• 54:18Speaker 03

Yeah, I will. I love sitcoms.

• 54:21Brooke Averick?

Believe it or not, I'm still actually watching The Office.

• 54:24Speaker 03

  Ooh.

• 54:25Brooke Averick?

  Yeah, extended cut.

• 54:28Speaker 03

Um, you should watch the UK one next.

• 54:30Brooke Averick?

I can't, I can't get into that either. I really struggle with British humor.

• 54:36Brooke Averick?

I think it goes right over my head.

• 54:41Speaker 03

I don't, what is British humor?

• 54:43Brooke Averick?

It's like a completely different ballgame.

• 54:47Speaker 03

  I don't, is it funny?

• 54:48Brooke Averick?

It's like so dry. Like some, like I guess Bridget Jones is British humor that I love. And then like Four Weddings and a Funeral is British humor that I can't, I'm like, what?

• 55:01Brooke Averick?

Like if you watch it, you'll just know. But it's very different than,

• 55:06Brooke Averick?

than, stop showing me your teeth. Stop showing me your perfect set of teeth.

• 55:12Speaker 03

There is, um, when I went to the UK for the shows,

• 55:20Speaker 03

they were like warning me, they're like, heads up. They're different over there.

• 55:25Brooke Averick?

  They are.

• 55:26Speaker 03

And I was like, oh crap. What do you mean? And they're like, we can't tell you. And so I go over and I'm like, well, I can't change who I am for the Brits. And so I didn't. I can't, you know, I'm not, I'm not doing a little dance for, for Queen Charles. And so I didn't and I did fine. They all thought it was funny. Maybe, maybe.

• 55:53Brooke Averick?

  Maybe your comedy is universal.

• 55:56Speaker 03

Maybe it speaks for itself. Maybe American humor translates more to the Brits.

• 56:02Brooke Averick?

No, they don't think we're funny usually, so good for you.

• 56:06Speaker 03

Right. Well, it was all Americans at my show for the most part, like all studying abroad.

• 56:12Brooke Averick?

Did you see that the Duolingo owl has passed?

• 56:16Speaker 03

  No, what do you mean?

• 56:17Brooke Averick?

I'm confused. Basically, Duolingo posted and said, "It is with heavy hearts that we inform you that Duo, formerly known as the Duolingo Owl, is dead." And this is fully the real Duolingo account. "Authorities are currently investigating his cause of death, and we are cooperating fully. TBH, he probably died waiting for you to do your lesson, but what do we know?"

• 56:41Speaker 03

Can I say something like a hot take?

• 56:44Brooke Averick?

  Yeah.

• 56:45Speaker 03

I'm glad the Duolingo Owl died.

• 56:48Brooke Averick?

  Whoa.

• 56:50Speaker 03

  Yeah, it like, it's...

• 56:53Brooke Averick?

It's asking you, the statement kindly asks you refrain from sharing why you hate him. If you feel inclined to share, please also include your credit card number so we can automatically sign you up for Duolingo in his memory. We appreciate you respecting Duolipa's privacy at this time.

• 57:08Speaker 03

So, Duolingo and their ways and the Owl have single-handedly made me never want to learn another language. Like, they're making me love English, you know, like, in a way that I didn't before. I was like, oh, okay, like, I'll learn Spanish. I'll like, I'll learn Japanese. No, fuck that Owl and fuck that company.

• 57:32Brooke Averick?

But they're also making us talk about them.

• 57:36Speaker 03

It's just like too, it's too much. Chill out, oh my gosh. I'm glad that I'm dancing on that Owl's career. No offense.

• 57:46Brooke Averick?

I'm excited to see how it progresses, like, if there's a replacement, like, what the plan is here. Why? Like, why, I guess, is my question.

• 57:58Speaker 03

  Definitely some marketing ploy.

• 58:01Brooke Averick?

Yeah, it's just a unique one, and it is a unique one at that.

• 58:06Speaker 03

And as well as unique. And I have to say something.

• 58:10Brooke Averick?

  What?

• 58:11Speaker 03

  I saw someone making...

• 58:17Speaker 03

Thank you, camera for zooming out. That was good. I saw someone making bananas in a hot dog bun with peanut butter and jelly on both sides. And then they grilled it and they ate it like a hot dog.

• 58:34Brooke Averick?

  That sounds great.

• 58:35Speaker 03

It sounds so good, doesn't it?

• 58:37Brooke Averick?

  Yeah.

• 58:37Speaker 03

But in its raw form, it's literally just like this banana in a hot dog bun that's just like cold.

• 58:44Brooke Averick?

I feel like as long as there's like peanut butter or even fluff, did you ever do peanut butter and fluff?

• 58:48Speaker 03

No, I don't fuck with fluff.

• 58:51Brooke Averick?

I don't, I wouldn't fuck, I don't either, but like, we always had it at camp and it just like tasted like camp. So I ate it and so I liked it, but I didn't like it as fluff. I liked it as camp. Does that make sense?

• 59:03Speaker 03

Yeah. It's a weird thing about camp and like, you know, and stuff. I used to not, I used to get so scared at camp that I wouldn't like the food. Cause I used to be a picky eater, which is embarrassing to even say like, it's been so long that I have forgotten that I, that I used to be picky. Um, but I used to get so scared that I'd be hungry.

• 59:27Speaker 03

That I would take peanut butter and jelly. I would sneak it out of the cafeteria. And I would take the peanut butter, I would take the jelly and I would sneak the bread. So just to make sure that at some point later on in the day, I could make a peanut butter and jelly out of desperation.

• 59:46Brooke Averick?

  Wow.

• 59:47Speaker 03

It makes me sad. I haven't had a peanut butter and jelly in so long and I think it's because I have a little bit of trauma associated with it.

• 59:53Brooke Averick?

I was never really a peanut butter and jelly kid. I loved a cream cheese and jelly sandwich.

• 1:00:00Speaker 03

  That's fucking disgusting.

• 1:00:02Brooke Averick?

So good. You would put cream cheese and jelly on a bagel.

• 1:00:07Speaker 03

  That's, no, I'd.

• 1:00:09Brooke Averick?

  No, wait, no, you wouldn't.

• 1:00:10Speaker 03

  One, no, I wouldn't.

• 1:00:11Brooke Averick?

No, it's so good. I'm telling you, that's what I would eat. Did I eat that? I think so. I might be thinking of butter, but I really think I'm thinking of cream cheese.

• 1:00:24Speaker 03

I bet I'm thinking about butter. Um, okay, well, when you get to New York, we'll have a cream cheese and jelly bagel.

• 1:00:33Brooke Averick?

  Yeah, well, no, sandwich.

• 1:00:36Speaker 03

  Sandwich.

• 1:00:37Brooke Averick?

Okay, I mean, I obviously like, won't be eating it in front of anyone. I'll either eat it in the restroom or with my retainer and as swallowing it like a pill, so.

• 1:00:46Speaker 03

Well, you can just smile and slide it right in between your gap.

• 1:00:50Brooke Averick?

Oh, yeah, I could just shove the whole sandwich in the gap.

• 1:00:54Brooke Averick?

  Okay.

• 1:00:56Brooke Averick?

  All right, man.

• 1:00:58Speaker 03
