All right. This is the Keep Hammering Collective. I'm with Tommy Runs. Dude, you're here in Eugene. This is cool. I know you've been here before, but I didn't know that. So I'm pumped to sit down with you and this is great. Thank you.

• 0:29Speaker 01

Thank you. I appreciate it, man. Eugene's like a, I was gonna say a second home, but it's like maybe like a fifth or sixth home, but I like it here.

• 0:36Cameron Hanes?

Well, you're welcome here. Um, so Tommy Runs, is that your like stage name or is that your real name?

• 0:42Speaker 01

  Stage name for sure.

• 0:43Cameron Hanes?

Okay, cause it's like, it's too perfect.

• 0:45Speaker 01

It's too good. It's too good. It was Tommy Guns for, uh, for like a year.

• 0:50Cameron Hanes?

  Really?

• 0:51Speaker 01

And then I started running and really liking it and figured out that Tommy Runs was available. So we made the switch.

• 0:57Cameron Hanes?

What was the guns like lifting?

• 0:59Speaker 01

Yeah. So I got sober in 2017 and just needed to find, you know, myself again and started lifting really like heavy and six, seven days a week was just lifting and

• 1:13Speaker 01

got to this point where I'm like looking good, feeling good, and then changed the name to Tommy Guns and was in the gym heavy and then got offered a spot to run the Chicago Rock and Roll Half Marathon. And then kind of fell in love with that process and started running more and my cousin's like, yeah, you're, you're losing the guns, bro. Your runs right now.

• 1:33Cameron Hanes?

  Were you pretty jacked?

• 1:35Speaker 01

I think so. I think so. Like.

• 1:37Cameron Hanes?

  How much did you weigh?

• 1:38Speaker 01

  I think I was, I was only like 165, but that's a lot.

• 1:42Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah, but shredded. Yeah.

• 1:43Speaker 01

Yeah. Yeah. I gotta show you a picture.

• 1:45Cameron Hanes?

Yeah. Yeah. And, uh, so how's the, so you switched to running and what year was that?

• 1:51Speaker 01

Running, uh, 2018. So yes, sobriety early 2017 and then running kind of came into the picture May-ish of 2018.

• 2:03Cameron Hanes?

And has exercise just in general been the key to sobriety, do you think?

• 2:09Speaker 01

No, I don't think it was the, not for me at least. I know a lot of people use that like different type of modalities to kind of keep sober or help them in that aspect, but I mean, AA in the rooms of AA really was what led me on this journey and this path, uh, running just.

• 2:26Speaker 01

Movement became a way that I use my time. And after getting closer into running and, and training for marathons and stuff like that, I feel like it is a very, um, it's a kind of a physical version of, of sobriety in a way, because it's, it's, it literally is one run at a time and one blah, blah, blah at a time. So it just kind of mirrors that sobriety aspect for me, but it's not like how I stay sober. Um, it's just what I choose to do now that I have like that clarity or that time or that energy or that, um, that desire to do more.

• 3:01Cameron Hanes?

Mm hmm. Yeah, I know for me, it's like, when you work so hard at something like running, if I have running goals, when I think about drinking, I, that's just sabotaging my goals. It's just like, why would I bust my ass to do this and then just kill myself with this other, this thing, poison?

• 3:21Speaker 01

I mean, people do it, bro.

• 3:22Cameron Hanes?

Yeah, I know they do. It's like, but I, I'm like, I guess so like tunnel vision. I want to be the best I can be at this one thing. And so anything else that hurts that, I don't want anything to do with.

• 3:32Speaker 01

Well, like, I think I had, you know, prior just to choosing sobriety or, or going down that road, I mean, I, you know, wanted to be, you know, healthy and wanted to like, go to the gym more and all that stuff. And you just never, you know, when you're in your like, I guess like the throes of alcoholism, you don't, I mean, when are you going to go?

• 3:53Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah.

• 3:53Speaker 01

You know, I was definitely, I'm not one of those, I wasn't one of those like binge drinkers where they, you know, you only drink every two weeks, something like that, and you just get drunk. Mine was the everyday thing. So it was very time consuming, very energy consuming. And so when that finally like kind of broke, I'm like looking at myself in the mirror, just like, I don't even like, like this person, you know? I don't like the way I look. I don't like how I felt. So then I just started going, you know? And that's like, if I didn't make that decision, then I wouldn't be here, you know?

• 4:26Cameron Hanes?

So you, I was going to ask, how has your life changed since, since then? But your life would, you'd think it'd be over.

• 4:31Speaker 01

Oh yeah, for sure. Like, I mean, just the, just not to be dramatic, but like the way that I felt, you know, it wasn't, um, like the decision, the decisions I was making with my safety, you know, and even like my kid's safety, um, and.

• 4:47Speaker 01

The just the the symptoms and the things that I was like feeling every day that I was just kind of pushing through and deciding to continue. I don't even know if it's a decision. I was just continuing down this road no matter what. And you know, my my pet, my dad passed of a stroke at thirty nine years old. He was a drinker. So like I had this model of like what essentially what not to do.

• 5:11Cameron Hanes?

  Right.

• 5:12Speaker 01

And but I was just kind of like barreling down that road like faster to see if I could beat them to that.

• 5:18Cameron Hanes?

  Get there quicker.

• 5:19Speaker 01

But I know for sure that if I didn't make that hard decision, because it wasn't, it wasn't a try it, see what happens. I mean, I tried a couple of times to go like sober January or something like that, you know, dry January, but it just didn't work. Like I couldn't make it two, three days for the most part. So when I finally made that decision to like walk into those rooms, it was a hard, firm decision and it just it saved my life.

• 5:45Cameron Hanes?

Hmm. Wow. That's I'm happy because it seems like you're just crushing it now and like you've really created this opportunity this in the space and you're just making the most of it. And, you know, I was lucky enough to be on your panel over here at the at the expo for the Gene Marathon and it was packed and you do such a good job talking with people. And so it just makes me to see how successful and and just the response you get from the community. Here's something most people don't realize. The average American family eats nearly forty pounds of imported meat every year, and most have no idea they're even buying it. But

• 6:28Cameron Hanes?

Good Ranchers does things differently. Good Ranchers partners with local farmers and ranchers to deliver one hundred percent American meat straight to your door. It's pasture raised, has no antibiotics and no added hormones. It's a kind of quality you can actually feel good about serving to the people around your table. But the reason I'm bringing them up today is because they just launched something I've been waiting for. Custom boxes. Now, instead of choosing a curated box, You can build your own box with the cuts your family loves. Steaks for grilling, chicken for weekend dinners, or whatever you reach for most. When you start your plan, you'll get to choose a free meat that will be included with every order at no additional cost.

• 7:11Cameron Hanes?

And with my code Cameron, you get $25 off your first order. That's free meat with every order and $25 off your first order with my code Cameron when you start your plan at GoodRanchers.com. GoodRanchers.com, American meat delivered. When you're deep in the backcountry and everything depends on your gear, your knife can't be the weak link. That's why I teamed up with Montana Knife Company to build the Keep Hammering Packout. What matters to me in all things is performance. The Packout is built to do one thing really well: break down animals efficiently. The blade shape gives you control when skinning, the steel holds an edge, and it's light enough

• 7:55Cameron Hanes?

that you don't think twice about carrying it all day. When you're tired, cold, and working on an animal miles from the truck, simple and reliable are everything. Montana Knife Company is American-made, and that matters to me. I know Josh Smith personally, and he doesn't cut corners. He cares about quality, doing things the right way, and about building products here in the USA that actually perform in the field. That's why I trust this knife. The Keep Hammering Packout: Built for the backcountry, built to work. What'd you do before you drank?

• 8:40Cameron Hanes?

Or when you were drinking, what was your job?

• 8:42Speaker 01

So yes, I had the same job actually from 2007 until last year, so early 2025. I worked for a vehicle shipping company, and I started working as just like the first job you get in and you walk in the door. And by the end of it, I was one of the two vice presidents of the company. And I built all that and did all that while drinking. And that was like probably the scariest like part of it looking back is because like this whole concept of...

• 9:17Speaker 01

Like functional alcoholic. Yeah. Like, I'm doing fine. I'm not like on the side of the street or whatever and I'm not, I haven't lost my house and all these things and I haven't got any trouble with the law. So I was just figuring I was fine, you know, and just kind of using those, all those excuses that I wasn't, I wasn't the guy in the movies, you know? Yeah. And so I, it was, I was successful, you know, in, in, in almost any like metrics of how you could find it, but it just, I was miserable. Right. You know, and. Inside. Yeah. And, and it was kind of, I've always kind of carried that, you know, what if,

• 9:56Speaker 01

if people knew, like what I, when I did last drank, what I'm drinking, how much, then all this could be gone. So like, it was kind of like a way to never really trust myself, never give myself credit for like what was happening. But so prior to, to drinking, it was decent, you know, and it just, I just didn't like who I was in those things. And then once I got sober, then it actually, then you start seeing that like the thing that you're, you know, good at and that you're getting paid for, maybe isn't your thing. You know, maybe you have, maybe now that this, this new life that you have, maybe you

• 10:37Speaker 01

want to do more with that. Maybe you want to start sharing real stories in a way that help people instead of just making money, you know? And so I think that was the, the change really for me after sobriety was starting to like find my own voice in all of these things. And then deciding at one point, I'm like, this whole Tommy runs thing is, is cool because I get to run and push myself. But then at the same time, I'm able to share my story, talk to other people about theirs. And do it hopefully in a way that inspires like one or two people to do like anything.

• 11:18Cameron Hanes?

Mm hmm. Well, I know that'll happen. I'm, you know, when you explain that functioning alcoholic and, you know, just getting by and nobody really knows, there's so many people just like that, you know, that, and, you know, I would probably like that in some ways and you can lie to everyone, you can, but when you look in the mirror, that's, that's when it sucks. What, what advice would you have for people in the position you were in that might be struggling with the same thing? What would you tell them?

• 11:51Speaker 01

I mean, if, if you're in a position where you know, like you, for a long time, I maybe didn't know. Like I tried to tell myself I was fine.

• 12:02Cameron Hanes?

  Everybody does this.

• 12:03Speaker 01

Yeah. And I, but I think there's a certain amount of delusion that you believe a lot of it. But then there's a point where you stop believing that and you know it's not okay and you feel the things you feel or whether it's a physical or emotional. And if you're at that point, I just like implore people to, to kind of not give up in a, in the, in the sense of, um, like just quitting, but giving up like the fight of, of trying to be normal in that sense and trying to act like everything's okay. Cause that's when, that's where all the, the lies you tell yourself to keep going is, is happening. When you just, when you think you're fighting through this thing and trying to be normal. But if you say like, yo, I'm not, this is not okay. I have no control over this thing.

• 12:46Speaker 01

And I have a problem. That's like the first step, obviously. And for me, like that came from, you know, people always, you know, if you have people that love you, people check on you. There's ask how you're doing. And, and my mom asked me that question. And normally it's just like a quick text back like, yeah, I'm good, you know? But for some reason, like that day in January, I was like not doing great. And she didn't ask a bunch of questions. She was just like, go check out employee assistance program. And so I hit them up and they asked me how many times I drank and stuff like that. Told them the truth. That was like my second truth, I guess. And then I went to a therapist and told her the third and she was like, you should go to AA. And so I think that's for me, that story just is, is more about just.

• 13:32Speaker 01

Realizing that I had nothing left to like lie about or you know, and just giving up that fight of of like resistance to um, because we want to control it. We want to, we think we can, we try for decades.

• 13:48Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah.

• 13:48Speaker 01

But we think maybe we can change it. But you, if you can't, and you know you can't, just let that go and start getting help like immediately.

• 13:57Cameron Hanes?

Yeah, that's good advice. I mean, and I mean, it feels like lately, society is going more towards sober than it had than I have remembered. Like, less people are drinking, it feels like from what I see, more people are, because before you'd say, oh, I don't drink, then people would be like, you know, what's, what's wrong with this guy?

• 14:22Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 14:22Cameron Hanes?

You know what I mean? You were the outcast if you didn't drink.

• 14:25Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 14:25Cameron Hanes?

Now it's like kind of switching where it's kind of celebrated to be like, no, I don't need to pollute myself.

• 14:30Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 14:30Cameron Hanes?

You know, that's, that's fine. So that's, that's good to hear. But we're good to see, but it's great to hear your, your journey. And I know just you talking about it will help people and will, because people will listen to this and they, they know they're in the same situation, you know, and it is hard making that first step and, and going and talking to somebody and saying, hey, I think I need help.

• 14:54Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 14:55Cameron Hanes?

That's, that's really hard. But it's the way you fix it.

• 14:59Speaker 01

Uh, yeah, I mean, it's scary for sure. But then I guess like, if you're at the point where I was at, I mean, I was scared to, you know, die, you know, I didn't want to, you know, I didn't want, I got two kids, I didn't want to leave them, like, kind of how I felt like I was not left, but you know,

• 15:14Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah.

• 15:15Speaker 01

the situation I had to grow up through.

• 15:17Cameron Hanes?

  Mm hmm.

• 15:18Speaker 01

And I'm just looking at them like, yo, like, if I have a opportunity to maybe try to do this a little differently than just, I'm gonna go sober for a month. Um, if I can do something real and different and tangible, then maybe I could stick around a little longer. And that was kind of what I needed to step through like that door.

• 15:42Cameron Hanes?

Mm hmm. Yeah, that's, that's great. Now, this whole thing, it's just like, did you ever envision that this could be as successful as it is?

• 15:51Speaker 01

No, no, I mean, because I, when I started running, I was just making content because I posted stuff on like Facebook and people would say, good job. And I was like, that's all I needed.

• 16:00Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah, that feels good.

• 16:01Speaker 01

  I'll keep going.

• 16:02Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah.

• 16:03Speaker 01

Um, because a lot of people knew that I drank, so, and, and so hearing something different, you know, was, was what I needed. And I just made content for me and maybe a few people to say good job for, and then eventually, this was kind of before like the running influencer, I guess, thing.

• 16:22Cameron Hanes?

  Mm hmm.

• 16:22Speaker 01

And, um, so I was just making stuff for fun and then it led to something more and then the pandemic, then I started a podcast. And so I've always tried to, um, I've always been the type, even through like drinking, I was always looking for some like random opportunities to do more or something.

• 16:40Cameron Hanes?

  Mm hmm.

• 16:40Speaker 01

And, um, so I never thought I'd be here, but it, it kind of makes sense when you, when you look back and start connecting.

• 16:49Cameron Hanes?

Yeah, yeah, for sure. Well, it's, uh, I mean, so you work for yourself.

• 16:53Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 16:53Cameron Hanes?

Essentially, and then you, then brands hire you to do different projects.

• 16:57Speaker 01

  Yep.

• 16:58Cameron Hanes?

But you have, you have your podcast, um, like what's your main things that you do?

• 17:03Speaker 01

So I have two podcasts. I have the Tommy Run Show, um, and then which, which you were on.

• 17:08Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah.

• 17:09Speaker 01

And then I have the PR project with two of my friends. Uh, we, we, we pod every other week and we just talk about all, all things running and have fun. And, but then also talk about more serious topics and we kind of lean more towards.

• 17:20Cameron Hanes?

I don't know if I've listened to that. What's it called?

• 17:22Speaker 01

  The PR project.

• 17:23Cameron Hanes?

  Okay, yeah.

• 17:24Speaker 01

Yeah, yeah. So it all, it started because we always were training to PR something.

• 17:27Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah.

• 17:27Speaker 01

And then it just kind of, it's evolved to something a little different. We've hosted live shows. This is how the Eugene thing came about, was the PR project.

• 17:35Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah.

• 17:35Speaker 01

And, um, and then for Tommy Runs, I run, I train for. Races, a sign up for races with brands and stuff like that and make content along the way. And try my best to, you know, check the the brand box, but then also carry the, I guess, whatever's true to me. And hopefully it like resonates with my community and others.

• 17:57Cameron Hanes?

Yeah, well, yeah, I mean, you're doing great work. What's what of those things? Like, what's the most rewarding part of it?

• 18:06Speaker 01

So I think it's a couple of things. I mean, it, the one that just like just jumped up first was is when I share about my sobriety. And maybe a lesson learned or just sharing that I'm sober period or like talking about all this, you know, I just hit nine years in January. And hearing people that don't know me, you know, or I don't know them, reach out to me and share a story. You know, maybe while they're struggling or they're thirty days sober or five years or ten years and they're just saying thank you to me for telling my truth again.

• 18:44Speaker 01

And that's huge because it it it's deeper than like a shoe sale. Or like a affiliate code or whatever. And it's more about like, it makes me feel valuable to. That makes all this worth it. I mean, because if you, like, I feel like I suffered for a bit, you know, and it. I wouldn't want to take it back, but I do want to make sure that that it is is worth something, you know? And if I can share the story and people reach out, that's all like that's that's fine. If if I make a reel and the ten thousand people watch it, like one person reaches out, that one person means more than ten thousand views to me.

• 19:28Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah, the impact.

• 19:29Speaker 01

Yeah. And then so that same kind of sentiment carries into like, you know, to the black run community. And the more people that see me do my thing and run a marathon or run two in this short period of time or whatever. Or jump into ultras and people say that like they feel like they can, they're invited more to a certain space because of us.

• 19:52Cameron Hanes?

  Seeing you there.

• 19:53Speaker 01

Yeah, seeing me there and seeing me share it the way I do, then then both of those, you know, are are make it feel all this is is worth it.

• 20:01Cameron Hanes?

What, how come you, why do you think like? Ultra has been slower to to grow in, you know, there's a lot of old white guys, basically. I mean, that's who does like, why is ultra slower? Because I see the road, road running is very diverse.

• 20:18Speaker 01

Yeah. Well, I think it's like.

• 20:20Cameron Hanes?

  Just the mountains?

• 20:22Speaker 01

I mean, maybe, I mean, I guess like if you, I guess if you look at like population.

• 20:26Cameron Hanes?

Yeah, density, yeah, I mean, that's cities.

• 20:28Speaker 01

It's not too many, like, there's not mountains near Detroit.

• 20:31Cameron Hanes?

  Right.

• 20:31Speaker 01

  You know, period. So.

• 20:32Cameron Hanes?

I sort of just that, I don't know.

• 20:33Speaker 01

I think it's, I think it's many things. I think it's that. But then I think it's also, you know, I didn't grow up seeing people run. And, you know, I didn't see black folks like running for recreation or fun just around the neighborhood. And if you see that growing up often, then the chances of you picking up, you know, a pair of running shoes eventually and doing the same thing as an adult is is higher.

• 20:52Cameron Hanes?

  Yep.

• 20:53Speaker 01

And I didn't start running until until after sobriety. So I was thirty three or thirty four, whatever, when I started running. And I'm like, when I started in two thousand eighteen nineteen, I didn't even see many of us at that point. You know, like when you sign up, my first race was Detroit Free Press in Detroit. And you still kind of like look around and at that point, it's like, there's not that many of us here then. And so like after twenty twenty, twenty twenty one, then you start seeing more, um, more black folks like stepping into that space. You see more people running in general because of the pandemic. And I think that trail will happen, you know, but it's just.

• 21:34Speaker 01

If a community in general is new to like a sport period, they're not going to typically like go straight to the extreme. Like climb a, run up a mountain. It's just, it's real, it's incremental and you're just seeing, you're just seeing the growth of it. You're seeing people get faster, people have bigger goals and targets.

• 21:54Cameron Hanes?

  Yep.

• 21:54Speaker 01

Um, just as time goes in the community. Because there's many people, I mean, just, just not to discount like all the black folks that have been putting up crazy numbers and miles for a long time, you know, um, and like Ted Corbett in the, you know, N Y R R, he like, doesn't so long ago. But it's still just small and compared to like what the. Ability is as a community.

• 22:15Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah.

• 22:16Speaker 01

And I think all things are better, like even on the road now that you you look around and you see things are more diverse. And that means that brands and race organizations and whatever have you like have to. Now or can not even have to can change how they communicate.

• 22:32Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah.

• 22:32Speaker 01

  All of us.

• 22:33Cameron Hanes?

Right. Hopefully, social media helps that too.

• 22:36Speaker 01

  I think so.

• 22:37Cameron Hanes?

You know, reaching because you can reach everyone.

• 22:39Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 22:40Cameron Hanes?

Cause I know, I mean, I ran the LA half. Have you run that?

• 22:44Speaker 01

I ran LA for the first time, the full, uh, this last pass LA.

• 22:48Cameron Hanes?

  Oh, you did?

• 22:49Speaker 01

  Yeah, yeah, yeah.

• 22:49Cameron Hanes?

  They'll just happen?

• 22:50Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 22:51Cameron Hanes?

Okay, because I was there. I was there too. It was hot, right?

• 22:54Speaker 01

Yeah, it was a little hot. It got a little spicy.

• 22:57Cameron Hanes?

I mean, I only I wasn't out there as long as you, so was easier on me.

• 23:02Speaker 01

Yeah, I mean, I think I snuck I snuck because it wasn't a bad day like it started off with like fifty something degrees.

• 23:08Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah.

• 23:08Speaker 01

And then it got to like ninety.

• 23:10Cameron Hanes?

  Towards the end, yeah.

• 23:10Speaker 01

But I think I snuck in but when it before.

• 23:12Cameron Hanes?

  Oh, did you?

• 23:13Speaker 01

So like I I got I got the good side of it.

• 23:16Cameron Hanes?

Okay, that's good. But but what I was gonna say is like I noticed down there, I hadn't done a race in LA ever. Very diverse. I mean, it's just like I I thought it was cool.

• 23:29Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 23:29Cameron Hanes?

I was like, I'm not used to because Eugene is like.

• 23:33Speaker 01

  It's Eugene.

• 23:34Cameron Hanes?

  It's not like LA.

• 23:35Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 23:36Cameron Hanes?

So you go to a race here is just what it is. I go down there and I was like, this is awesome.

• 23:40Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 23:41Cameron Hanes?

I love to see all, you know, some just all sorts of different people.

• 23:46Speaker 01

  A hundred percent.

• 23:46Cameron Hanes?

  It was sick.

• 23:47Speaker 01

Yeah, I mean, because it kind of felt, I guess, if you had to think about like it it felt a lot like New York, like New York.

• 23:53Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah.

• 23:53Speaker 01

New York City Marathon. New York City Marathon is, I mean.

• 23:56Cameron Hanes?

  I know.

• 23:56Speaker 01

New York is global diverse, though. It's like.

• 23:58Cameron Hanes?

I love the running through the five burrows.

• 24:01Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 24:01Cameron Hanes?

  And you see like, yeah.

• 24:02Speaker 01

Each by each borough has their own feel.

• 24:04Cameron Hanes?

The Hasidic Jews are just like kind of.

• 24:06Speaker 01

  They're just.

• 24:07Cameron Hanes?

You know, it's just so quiet.

• 24:08Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 24:08Cameron Hanes?

Not make, then you go and reggae music going crazy and I don't know. I don't know. Can't remember where Bronx maybe. But it's so cool.

• 24:16Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 24:16Cameron Hanes?

I love seeing all those different communities.

• 24:18Speaker 01

I mean, they they they could just make the course a little flatter and we could just still maybe.

• 24:23Cameron Hanes?

  The bridge.

• 24:24Speaker 01

If we could get through all these boroughs somehow. Flatter.

• 24:28Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah, yeah.

• 24:28Speaker 01

The worst bridge is Queensborough Bridge.

• 24:30Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah.

• 24:31Speaker 01

The like the overpass or whatever.

• 24:33Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah.

• 24:33Speaker 01

It just gets, it's only at mile fifteen, but it gets so dark and like lonely right there.

• 24:37Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah, and it's like a little, it's a hill.

• 24:39Speaker 01

  No, it's definitely a hill.

• 24:40Cameron Hanes?

Get up on those things, but I, that was where I'd got my fastest marathon before today.

• 24:45Speaker 01

  Oh, really?

• 24:46Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah.

• 24:46Speaker 01

  New York?

• 24:47Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah.

• 24:47Speaker 01

  That's crazy.

• 24:48Cameron Hanes?

That was in two thousand, twenty years ago.

• 24:50Speaker 01

What time, wait, twenty years, what time was that?

• 24:53Cameron Hanes?

  It's two fifty twenty one.

• 24:54Speaker 01

And then you just ran two thirty eight?

• 24:56Cameron Hanes?

  Two thirty nine.

• 24:57Speaker 01

  Thirty nine?

• 24:57Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah.

• 24:58Speaker 01

  Jeez.

• 24:59Cameron Hanes?

But like I said, I have never trained. I've, I jog, like, well, we used to call it jogging, but.

• 25:05Speaker 01

We used to call it jogging?

• 25:07Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah, back in the day.

• 25:08Speaker 01

  Okay. What's it called now?

• 25:09Cameron Hanes?

  I'm old, running.

• 25:11Speaker 01

  Okay.

• 25:11Cameron Hanes?

  Or training.

• 25:12Speaker 01

  Okay.

• 25:12Cameron Hanes?

  Nobody says jogging, do they?

• 25:14Speaker 01

Yeah, no, I don't think so. I think if somebody says I went for a jog.

• 25:17Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah, that's right.

• 25:18Speaker 01

It's supposed to be a little funny or something.

• 25:19Cameron Hanes?

That's what we used to say.

• 25:20Speaker 01

  Okay.

• 25:22Cameron Hanes?

So, yeah, I've run, I've run my whole life, but, and I, you know, like when we were talking on the panel.

• 25:28Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 25:28Cameron Hanes?

When I, starting when I was five, so I've been doing it for fifty three years, never done it right. So with this, you know, as I said, true, it helped, but I've finally actually trained, and so this is a result.

• 25:39Speaker 01

Well, I mean, I'm glad that you're starting to pick it up a little bit, you know, cause like.

• 25:43Cameron Hanes?

  Before it's too late.

• 25:44Speaker 01

Yeah, I feel like, I feel like, I mean, some would say like you're, you might be a slow learner in these situations.

• 25:49Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah.

• 25:50Speaker 01

Fifty some years is a long time to be like, you know, let me try to.

• 25:53Cameron Hanes?

I know. Maybe I could do this better. Yeah, but, yeah, so New York was my, yeah, two thousand and six, that was my fastest, but I love, I love the big ones. But, you know, like London today, true, it is, it's like so many people.

• 26:11Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 26:11Cameron Hanes?

It makes it, makes me really appreciate a race like Eugene, you know, it's like the perfect size.

• 26:16Speaker 01

  I don't know, man.

• 26:17Cameron Hanes?

  You like the big ones?

• 26:18Speaker 01

Well, so I think, I think that you like being like in the, in like the woods by yourself.

• 26:24Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah.

• 26:24Speaker 01

So if ten people are outside cheering for you, you're like, wow, this is great.

• 26:29Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah, that's true.

• 26:30Speaker 01

Yeah, like I'm, I'm like, my favorite race marathon is. Because it's flatter than New York.

• 26:36Cameron Hanes?

  Okay.

• 26:36Speaker 01

But it also has like that same energy.

• 26:38Cameron Hanes?

  Oh.

• 26:39Speaker 01

Like, I want, I want there to be like eight deep.

• 26:42Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah.

• 26:42Speaker 01

Crowds screaming and I'm just gonna pretend that they're all there for me.

• 26:45Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah.

• 26:46Speaker 01

  That's the vibe I need.

• 26:47Cameron Hanes?

That did, it did help today, cause just cause I've lived here my whole life. I heard a lot of keep hammering.

• 26:52Speaker 01

  Okay.

• 26:52Cameron Hanes?

  Can't, it does help.

• 26:54Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 26:54Cameron Hanes?

  For sure. But, uh.

• 26:56Speaker 01

I don't know if that, I'm sure it's because people know you that you, cause you live here, but I also, I mean, you're, you're kinda well known a little bit.

• 27:03Cameron Hanes?

Hmm. Yeah, I, I, I don't know, but it was, it was, it was a fun day.

• 27:07Speaker 01

  You didn't like that?

• 27:08Cameron Hanes?

It was a fun day. Element was created by former research biochemist Rob Wolf and has enough sodium, potassium and magnesium to move the needle. And get you feeling and performing your best. Also try new Element sparkling, a bold 16 ounce can of sparkling electrolyte water. One of the hardest parts of hunting is glassing big country to find animals you know are there. That's why I run Sig Sauer Zulu Imaging Stabilizing Binoculars when I'm covering a lot of ground and need to see everything. These binos are a complete game changer. After long climbs, when your heart rate's up

• 28:33Cameron Hanes?

and your hands aren't steady, shaky glass makes it hard to stay locked in. With image stabilization, everything settles down. You can slow the process, really pick apart the country, and catch movement you'd normally miss. I've found more animals and saved a ton of time because of these binos. I actually just talked about how impressive this technology is on the most recent episode of the Joe Rogan Experience. Once you use stabilized glass, it's hard to go back. It gives you a real advantage when you're hunting big, open terrain. And here's the rare part, optics companies almost never offer discounts, but Sig is giving listeners of this podcast 10% off. Just use code CAM at checkout.

• 29:16Cameron Hanes?

So if you're serious about glassing and want the same edge I've had the past couple of seasons, head to sigsauer.com, grab a pair of Zulu binos and use code CAM for 10% off. Sig Sauer Zulu Binoculars. See more, miss less, keep hammering. I just, I just love competing, I think. I think I just love to line up, which is weird. You'd think that I would have, if I loved competing, you'd think I'd want to be better at it, and I hadn't until this year, so.

• 29:45Speaker 01

Do you think like after today's, after the training block you did, and then after today's race, you'll, you'll kind of stay?

• 29:51Cameron Hanes?

I don't know. You never, I'm not very smart. 50 years to learn this, but I was talking to Truitt, kind of debriefing his race and my race, and I said, how, how fast do you think I could get? Cause we wanna, I can't remember if I mentioned, but we're, we want to set the world record for father-son marathon.

• 30:11Speaker 01

  All right, LeBron James?

• 30:13Cameron Hanes?

Yeah, yeah. Cause right now, it's, it's Tommy Hughes from Ireland. I think it's from the eighties, maybe. I don't know. It's been around a while, but he was an Olympian in Ireland. His son was a good runner, but he ran like a 220 some, his son like a 230 some. So the world record all time father-son is 459.

• 30:32Speaker 01

Same race? Has to be the same race?

• 30:36Cameron Hanes?

  Probably, I'm not sure.

• 30:37Speaker 01

I feel like that would, that would make sense.

• 30:39Cameron Hanes?

So I think me and Truitt want to do it in London next year because that's where Guinness is. Guinness Book of World Records. So we get the certificate right then if we do it.

• 30:47Speaker 01

Okay, that'd be a vibe because you know they're doing like the two day thing next year.

• 30:51Cameron Hanes?

Right, right. Double the people, right.

• 30:54Speaker 01

Yeah, double the people. That'd be great for you.

• 30:55Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah, it'd be sick.

• 30:57Speaker 01

God. It'd be great for your performance.

• 30:59Cameron Hanes?

But, uh, yeah, so that's, we were kind of debriefing there, seeing how close we were after today. And, uh, yeah, I think we can get it.

• 31:07Speaker 01

Yeah, you guys were kind of close then, today.

• 31:09Cameron Hanes?

Yeah, I mean, if he would have had a better run for sure.

• 31:12Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 31:12Cameron Hanes?

  Because.

• 31:13Speaker 01

Tell him he's got to pick up the slack.

• 31:14Cameron Hanes?

So if he's got to get 220 and then I've got under 240, I got 200, so we would have had it.

• 31:20Speaker 01

  Hmm.

• 31:20Cameron Hanes?

But he has to get 220.

• 31:22Speaker 01

  Okay.

• 31:22Cameron Hanes?

So he's got, he's got the harder work to do.

• 31:25Speaker 01

Yeah, he's got, he's got a job cut out for him.

• 31:27Cameron Hanes?

Um, okay, so you like the big stuff, the big races.

• 31:30Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 31:31Cameron Hanes?

But you also are doing Western States.

• 31:34Speaker 01

  Yes.

• 31:35Cameron Hanes?

  That's not a big race.

• 31:36Speaker 01

  No. I mean, uh, yeah.

• 31:38Cameron Hanes?

For ultras, it's kind of pumped.

• 31:40Speaker 01

Yeah, yeah, yeah. I think like the, from what I've seen in the videos, the aid stations are going kind of crazy.

• 31:45Cameron Hanes?

Yeah, people love, because most people can't get in.

• 31:48Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 31:49Cameron Hanes?

So when one of their buddies gets in, everyone goes. You know what I mean?

• 31:53Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 31:54Cameron Hanes?

  But, uh, are you pumped?

• 31:55Speaker 01

Yeah, I'm excited. Um, yeah, I think, um, the, the funny part about like my ultra, this ultra journey is like, it's very new to me. You know, like I've only been doing trail and ultra for a, you know, my first ultra experience was last March 2025.

• 32:11Cameron Hanes?

  And that was?

• 32:12Speaker 01

  Uh, the Speed Project.

• 32:14Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah.

• 32:14Speaker 01

So from LA to Las Vegas.

• 32:16Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah.

• 32:16Speaker 01

And so like this is all fairly new, but when I first started running, I was watching like Western States, you know, happen. I saw the documentary when Jim Wamsley turned the wrong way. And then the next year, I was like in my car, like tracking, like the old school tracker where you just keep updating to see if, if he did it. And that's when he dropped out because he got like overheated or something.

• 32:39Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah.

• 32:40Speaker 01

But like, so my, I was watching Jim Wamsley before, like I knew who Eli Kachogi was essentially.

• 32:45Cameron Hanes?

  Okay.

• 32:46Speaker 01

It's kind of cool to, to remember that moment. And then now I'm doing like Western States. And, and I'm aware of like the history. I always have been like how hard it is to get in and how many years people, you know, wait and keep requalifying to be at this race. So. The way that I got in was definitely different than than that process. But just like when I ran like Havoline a hundred last year. My goal is to use the opportunity because it's a crazy opportunity to get to run this race and use it to the best of my ability, which would mean to me, just train as hard as I possibly can, be ready for it and just go for my best period and make sure, obviously, I tell my

• 33:31Speaker 01

story along with others along the way.

• 33:33Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah.

• 33:33Speaker 01

Yeah, so like it's, I'm excited about it. I feel, I don't feel nervous about it yet, but I know that I can put in a lot of work between now and when Western happens.

• 33:45Cameron Hanes?

Yeah. How much like, like hill work do you do?

• 33:50Speaker 01

So in Michigan, it's not much, right? So like I find on normal runs, I try to find as many like little hills.

• 33:56Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah.

• 33:58Speaker 01

But other than that, like if I have a hill workout, it's just straight to the treadmill with it, turn it up and just get to work. One thing that I learned, I ran Big Alta hundred K with that's like 12,000 or 12,000, 12,500 feet of elevation gain.

• 34:11Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah, that's actually a lot.

• 34:12Speaker 01

  Yeah, so.

• 34:13Cameron Hanes?

  For 60 miles.

• 34:13Speaker 01

And, and I trained for that in the gym, pretty much, you know, sled pulls and all the things and I didn't feel like trashed after that, so I'm, I'm happy with that. But then one thing I learned a lot about that experience is that I'm like terrible at like walking and, and like hiking.

• 34:30Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah.

• 34:31Speaker 01

Because I'm so, I'm so used to marathon training and everything's running.

• 34:34Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah.

• 34:35Speaker 01

  There's, there's not a point when you're walking.

• 34:37Cameron Hanes?

  Right.

• 34:37Speaker 01

Unless you're having a bad day.

• 34:38Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah.

• 34:39Speaker 01

So I'm not good at it. And so my goal this training block is to do all the things I did for Big Alta plus, you know, four mile at 15% or 14% and just like walk.

• 34:51Cameron Hanes?

  Hike it out.

• 34:51Speaker 01

  Yeah, yeah.

• 34:52Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah.

• 34:52Speaker 01

  Those suck. I'd rather do.

• 34:54Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah.

• 34:55Speaker 01

I'd rather do a marathon specific workout than walk four miles.

• 35:00Cameron Hanes?

Yeah, and there is a lot of walking in mountain ultras for sure because you try to run up the hill, you blow your legs out.

• 35:07Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 35:07Cameron Hanes?

Or the, the thing that gets people at Western, I remember this from when I, I this is like a long time ago, 2010, I ran it, but. It's going down in the canyons at the beginning, you blow your quads out and then you got nothing left. But because you can just bomb down those hills. And I remember there was a guy, he, they let him in because he's supposed to be like in the top 10. So he got some whatever entry. And he was supposed to compete, flew over from his country, bombed down the, passed me, flying down the downhills and then dropped. Could not run.

• 35:42Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 35:43Cameron Hanes?

I mean, his legs just would not work.

• 35:45Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 35:45Cameron Hanes?

After that. And then you hear people like going backwards downhill to give their quads a break.

• 35:50Speaker 01

  Okay.

• 35:51Cameron Hanes?

So they have to go backwards.

• 35:52Speaker 01

  Yeah, towards like middle end.

• 35:54Cameron Hanes?

So yeah, I mean, that's why I asked about the hills.

• 35:56Speaker 01

Yeah, I'm, I'm, I'm working on it. And I mean, I know that I'm at a disadvantage then like for some people that are, that live near like stuff like this out here.

• 36:04Cameron Hanes?

Yeah, but 12,000 feet, if you did that.

• 36:06Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 36:06Cameron Hanes?

  That's a lot.

• 36:07Speaker 01

I mean, I ran the next day.

• 36:08Cameron Hanes?

Western only has 18, I think.

• 36:10Speaker 01

Yeah, 18. And then like, but the descent, I guess is, is because it's like 18,000 feet and then like maybe 20 or 21,000.

• 36:16Cameron Hanes?

  Right, a little more descent.

• 36:17Speaker 01

Yeah, so I'm just, I'm just, I'll just, I'm gonna be in the gym, doing my thing, trying to just make sure I'm as ready as possible. And I mean, I know like my head will be there though.

• 36:26Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah.

• 36:26Speaker 01

That's, that's, that's an important part of it too.

• 36:29Cameron Hanes?

That'll be fun because again, all the stars are there.

• 36:32Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 36:32Cameron Hanes?

You know, so that's kind of the big reason why I was wanting to do Coco Duna again, just because I just love seeing everyone.

• 36:40Speaker 01

Yeah. Do you know Dan Green?

• 36:42Cameron Hanes?

  I don't know him, but.

• 36:44Speaker 01

Yeah, so I got to hang out with him at Big Alta.

• 36:46Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah, he's a beast.

• 36:47Speaker 01

I didn't know who he was. He's like, we, we met each other like at, at breakfast at the hotel. And we're good. I was like, oh, I'm supposed to drive you over to the thing with us, to the shakeout run. I'm like, all right, cool. So I'm like talking to him, giving him shit because he's, he's like driving 10 and 2 in the car. He's like, I hate driving. My girlfriend drives. And I didn't know like for a whole day at all about the background. And then all of a sudden, I'm listening to him and Debo talk through an interview.

• 37:14Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah.

• 37:15Speaker 01

And Debo starts off, he's like, yeah, we got Dan Green here, duh, duh, duh, you know, winner of Coco Duna, broke the record. I was like, oh my god. Like I could have been asking him questions, bro. I'm like making fun of his driving skills.

• 37:26Cameron Hanes?

He's legit. I haven't met him, but he's commented a few times, I think, on my stuff. But I think I told him, you know, obviously he's an incredible performance last year, but those guys went out. Cause Courtney went out super fast, Harry went out, Dan.

• 37:43Cameron Hanes?

And some of them blew up.

• 37:46Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 37:46Cameron Hanes?

You know, it's just, but they are pushing, dude.

• 37:49Speaker 01

Yeah, I saw that he, he, he dropped a, Dan dropped a video, um, like a little film about it and I mean, they did a really good drive. I think it's just him and his, his, his, uh, the bargain boys.

• 37:59Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah.

• 37:59Speaker 01

Uh, just like covering the whole thing and he just was talking about that, that moment he passed Courtney eventually.

• 38:05Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah.

• 38:06Speaker 01

That's just such a wild, like Cogadona, like two, two hundred and fifty miles is in a race setting. Cause I, I did T S P. So it was like, I get the distance.

• 38:15Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah.

• 38:16Speaker 01

But that's a different thing from like that type of start line to that type of finish.

• 38:21Cameron Hanes?

Yeah. And it's really hard. Like if you have the opportunity to pass it up just because of, we do all this because we want to see if we got what it takes. Do we, are we made with the right shit?

• 38:33Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 38:33Cameron Hanes?

To get this done or not. And.

• 38:35Speaker 01

How long did, uh, how long did it take you to finish?

• 38:38Cameron Hanes?

  Uh, eighty-four.

• 38:39Speaker 01

  What is that in days?

• 38:41Cameron Hanes?

  Three and a half.

• 38:42Speaker 01

  Yeah. Okay. Yeah, okay.

• 38:44Cameron Hanes?

I'm hoping I'm a little quicker. Uh, yeah, it's, yeah, it's just hard. I mean, I was kind of banged up last year. Didn't know if I was going to be able to do it. Had to cancel Boston because I got hurt. Uh, so I was like, well, I, I hadn't done a two hundred and eight years from me and Courtney did a. Moab two forty in twenty seventeen. And then I did Bigfoot in twenty sixteen. And I hadn't done a two hundred until last year. And I'm like, I don't even know if I'm tough enough or good enough. Or maybe I'm too old now. And then I was hurt and I'm just like, I went down there. I'm like, why am I doing this?

• 39:26Speaker 01

Yeah. Maybe you did it though.

• 39:28Cameron Hanes?

Got it. So now I'm back. I feel, I think I made it through Eugene. Okay. Today and, uh, so it should be all right.

• 39:34Speaker 01

All right. Yeah, I think you're fine.

• 39:36Cameron Hanes?

Yeah, yeah, it should be good. Um, so what's your, like, you mentioned Dan Green, like who, who do you enjoy following? In ultra like or runner, who's your favorite?

• 39:48Speaker 01

I guess I'd have to say, yeah, I don't know. You put me on the spot there.

• 39:55Speaker 01

Yeah, I don't really know. Cause like, I think that for the most part, cause I'm, I'm in like running like content world. I try my best to like not see as much as possible. Cause it either, either like I like somebody's content enough. Or like maybe I'll accidentally like make her something that just like they did. Or it just becomes like too much to, to watch. And it's, oh Sally.

• 40:14Cameron Hanes?

  Sally?

• 40:14Speaker 01

Yeah, like I like watching. I actually told, I, I messaged her like, yo, your content's actually like helping me. Because just the way that she presents it, cause I've known Sally for like three years. But I was, I'm a marathon dude. So I wasn't worried about Sally's content at all. Like she's running these races that I have no idea about. And, but now that I'm in this thing, like every time she posts, like I'm seeing how much, how valuable, like the way that she's sharing the content.

• 40:39Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah.

• 40:39Speaker 01

And the information that she has. So I've been definitely tapping into Sally's stuff. And I don't, there's not a chance that I'd be a trail runner if I lived anywhere where there were snakes like this often.

• 40:51Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah.

• 40:51Speaker 01

Like I was running through the Spencer's Butte thing, imagining like if, if I died out here because of a snake.

• 40:58Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah.

• 40:58Speaker 01

This is, that'd be a wild way to go.

• 41:00Cameron Hanes?

Yeah. It's, uh, Spencer's doesn't have too many snakes.

• 41:04Speaker 01

Like too many? I thought you were gonna say no snakes.

• 41:07Cameron Hanes?

There's probably snakes, but Piscata has quite a few snakes.

• 41:10Speaker 01

Okay. So we're not doing it.

• 41:11Cameron Hanes?

It's more in the sun. Like Spencer's wetter. Snakes like the dry stuff.

• 41:16Speaker 01

  Got it.

• 41:17Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah.

• 41:17Speaker 01

  Got it.

• 41:17Cameron Hanes?

So when it's in the sun over there, Piscata's like in the sun all afternoon. That's where you, it's just, it's just like gopher snakes. But they look like rattlesnakes. They're, I mean, they're this long.

• 41:28Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 41:29Cameron Hanes?

And they look, they don't do anything.

• 41:32Speaker 01

  Okay.

• 41:32Cameron Hanes?

  But they look big.

• 41:33Speaker 01

All right. I'll just have to, I mean, some things in like, you know, some things in life, you just don't have to.

• 41:39Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah.

• 41:39Speaker 01

  Deal with. Yeah, yeah.

• 41:41Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah.

• 41:41Speaker 01

And that's, that was one of those things. If I never see a gopher snake in real life, I'd be, I'd be fine.

• 41:46Cameron Hanes?

I hear you. Um, yeah. So like what's, where do you see ultra running going? Cause you said you've been a marathon guy. Now you're getting like doing Western and then what?

• 41:58Speaker 01

  Um, I don't know.

• 42:00Cameron Hanes?

Let's assume that goes good. You get your under 24.

• 42:02Speaker 01

Yeah, yeah. You get that silver buckle.

• 42:04Cameron Hanes?

The silver buckle, 100 miles, one day.

• 42:08Speaker 01

  I think that.

• 42:11Speaker 01

I don't know like what race would happen next or what direction that would take, but I would love to to take whatever momentum that that would cause in, you know, my the world of Tommy runs and build something that would give more accessibility or accessibility to people that wouldn't have imagined being going on a trail run or being in the mountains, something like that. And just use that momentum to build something for for people to either see from a distance and be inspired by or to physically be a part of.

• 42:51Speaker 01

I kind of have some thoughts about, you know, what

• 42:56Speaker 01

I think watching from road running from 2019 till till now.

• 43:03Speaker 01

I think that some of the brands, just the way that society reacted to, you know, 2021, you know, George Floyd and all these other different instances that caused a lot of feelings and emotion and wanting people, wanting, you know, folks colored to be represented in a different way. I think that a lot of the brands responded well at that time, but then also the

• 43:30Speaker 01

I think if there was a little more foresight in certain moments, it would be something that's a little more sustainable and more real to this day. And with trail running being in the space that it is right now and is is growing so so fast, that I think and would hope that the same brands, just on the other side of their companies, could could see the benefit of of positioning themselves in a different way than they did on the road. And using like all these, you know, resources and

• 44:07Speaker 01

And momentum that they have from the way the trail is growing to to provide people, all people of, you know, of the backgrounds that don't have the access or even like the imagination to end up some of these places to figure out like, hey, how can we include more people in this thing, you know, that there's room for it, you know? And I hope that if I can, whether Western States goes good or well or not, like I hope that I could be a part of creating a lane, so to speak, to to help people see some other things.

• 44:47Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah.

• 44:48Speaker 01

I said this, I was on a panel at TrailCon between Broken Arrow and Western States last year, and it wasn't about, it wasn't about this at all, it was about like content creation and stuff like that, but I just like had to point out that like, we went on a four mile run up the escarpment, you know, and I had been there before and saw the things before, but it's still like as I'm going up this escarpment, you kind of look to your right or your left or whatever, and you you can imagine that some people have never even thought of seeing the site or the the views

• 45:23Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah.

• 45:23Speaker 01

  from these places.

• 45:24Cameron Hanes?

  Right.

• 45:24Speaker 01

And it's not lost on me that like, a kid or someone standing in that spot right there that I just ran past kind of willy nilly on a shakeout run, could change that person's like aspect or life or vision or perspective on like what is possible outside of running.

• 45:44Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah.

• 45:45Speaker 01

And if I could use my voice or my privilege in this sense, or

• 45:54Speaker 01

you know, my leverage, then I'll do it.

• 45:57Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah.

• 45:58Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 45:59Cameron Hanes?

Out in the mountains, there's no room for wheat gear. When I'm packing out meat in the heat, or loading up for a long range training trip, I need a cooler that holds the line every time. That's why I use Grizzly coolers. These things are bear proof, rugged as hell, and keep ice locked in for days, literally. I've had coolers on the trail, baking in the sun, still holding ice after hauling out elk quarters. That's performance you can count on. Whether you're running deep in the back country or just stacking meat for the weekend, Grizzly is built for that grind. Right now, you can get 20% off at grizzlycoolers.com with the code KEEPHAMMERING. And that's all

• 46:42Cameron Hanes?

one word. And I'm not going to spell it. Keep hammering. Again, keep hammering. One word for 20% off. Don't roll with weak gear. Go Grizzly. Some people wake up when they have to. Some people wake up because something in them refuses to stay still. Spring has a way of exposing that. New light, new ground, new work to be done. Out with old excuses, in with a new standard. If you're lacing up boots before sunrise, loading up a pack, stepping into the garage gym, or logging miles while the world's still quiet, you don't need soft fuel. You need something built for rebellion, the disciplined

• 47:24Cameron Hanes?

kind. Black Rifle Coffee didn't discover grit in 2026. They were founded on it. Built by veterans who understand early mornings, quiet courage, and doing hard reps nobody applauds. Their ready to drink cold brew is made for motion. Just black, clean, direct, no nonsense. Vanilla, smooth, bold, still all business. Throw it in your truck, your range bag, your pack, it's ready when you are. And when the season demands more, grab GrapeX or Wild Frost from Black Rifle Energy. Zero sugar, 200 milligrams of caffeine, no crash, no compromise. This

• 48:05Cameron Hanes?

isn't about trends, it's about renewal. Raising your bar, new season, sharper edge. Find Black Rifle Coffee at Walmart, Target, Kroger, your local Black Rifle Coffee shop, or online at blackriflecoffee.com and use code KEEPHAMMERING for 10% off your purchase. Fuel the rebellion and keep hammering. You know, when you were saying that about George Floyd and all that, it is like there is a big reaction when something happens and then it Yeah, it goes away. Yeah, because I mean, it's so many, like.

• 48:41Speaker 01

It which sucks, but then at the same time, it's like it's so much, especially now, it just seems like it's so much to be to react to.

• 48:50Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah.

• 48:51Speaker 01

  And that like

• 48:52Cameron Hanes?

  There's something new every day.

• 48:53Speaker 01

That the things that we should just be like, let's stay reacting to this.

• 48:57Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah, for a while.

• 48:58Speaker 01

  Just kind of, you know.

• 48:59Cameron Hanes?

Let's not move on with the news cycle.

• 49:01Speaker 01

Yeah, and it's like some things are like, hey, let's address this for a second, but let's go back. But I just feel like it was

• 49:09Speaker 01

I would have liked in hindsight, you know, I to see different things happen. And I'm not sure, I mean, obviously, things, nothing's ever beyond like change or whatever, but just, you know, speaking about like for trail as it starts to grow and build, like, it would just be a shame to me to see a space that is so different and so like surprisingly welcoming. As like coming from like, from my perspective, like walking into like hoveling a hundred or Big Alta and feeling the way that me and my crew were extremely like welcomed and supported by random people, you know, it's a different, trail's a different vibe for sure.

• 49:50Speaker 01

So if that's the vibe of trail, then I would like for more people to experience that.

• 49:55Cameron Hanes?

Yeah, no, I get that. I was like, I was thinking too. What about like a Tommy runs training camp for mountain, you know, for new mountain runners?

• 50:05Speaker 01

Yeah, I mean, I definitely got, I got a thing. I got a thing. I'll let you, you'll be the first person to know, you'll be one of the first people to know once I, once I'm like fully like aligned on what I want to do after Western.

• 50:15Cameron Hanes?

I think that'd be sick to expose.

• 50:18Speaker 01

Yeah, for sure. Yeah, because, because it's, it's, it's, I strongly feel that, that brands, you know, brands have to do their thing. They have to, from an influencer standpoint, they have to like check the boxes for the views and this and that.

• 50:32Cameron Hanes?

  They gotta sell.

• 50:33Speaker 01

Right. And, and then, but I also feel like brands should always have a, a section of something that like this matches our core values.

• 50:42Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah.

• 50:43Speaker 01

And Um, no matter what this side here is doing, we're always gonna have this, whether it's two people doing it or 10 or 100 or whatever. We have to always have someone or people moving forward in that sense. And a lot of times they do it through athletes. But then, as we know through, you know, history, athletes don't necessarily have the time or capacity to like, be an influencer in that sense. Like they're trying to win races.

• 51:08Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah.

• 51:08Speaker 01

There's not, there's not many special people like that that can go win a race, but then also connect with people.

• 51:15Cameron Hanes?

Give back to the. I think you'd be perfect, dude. And it's like, you talked about like the person who's never been there on the trail that gets to see this new perspective.

• 51:23Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 51:24Cameron Hanes?

You could do that with people.

• 51:25Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 51:26Cameron Hanes?

And say, take a look at this, you know, you could actually put words to it. I think you'd be perfect. And I think every brand, not every brand, but most big brands would be like, yeah, we want to be part of this.

• 51:36Speaker 01

Yeah, I, you'd, you'd hope so. I mean, just because it's so, it's, it's, it's a big deal, but it's simple. It's not that, it's nothing, nothing new, you know, just, um, but that's, that's what I hope to do. I hope to continue to push. But the main thing for me is that it's always, I have to make sure that it, if anything comes from, to that extent, like where I'm able to do stuff like that, I want it to be built on the fact that, you know, that I've been true and authentic to like, who I am, what I am. Um, and then the, the training and all this stuff is, is, is like first for me. Like I have to do all the things and I have to put on all the miles. I have to be ready for it.

• 52:18Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah, you gotta be authentic.

• 52:20Speaker 01

Yeah, like it's not just like, hey, um, just because I'm me or whatever, just jump in there and say, okay, I want to do this. It's like, I'm gonna go, um, if you, if you follow me, you already know that. But if you don't, then it's like, I'm going to do all the things that I have to do to try to be ready for, whether it's a 5K or, you know, 100 miles or like TSP was 340 miles.

• 52:42Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah.

• 52:42Speaker 01

And I had no idea why I said yes to that, but we did it. Um, that was like my first ultra experience, but even then, like I, I said, I said, no twice in the, to, to myself kinda in the, when I finally said, yes, it was because that I could, I knew that I could make it make sense and make it do it for a reason. But then I knew that I could put in the work for it. So we raised money for release recovery that they give scholarships. People that can get into rehab, but then also like my coach was like, yeah, I think you can do this. We just gotta put in a bunch of work and we did.

• 53:17Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah. Nice. Who's your coach?

• 53:19Speaker 01

Melissa Johnson White. So she's a like, have you heard of Hanson's marathon method?

• 53:23Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah.

• 53:24Speaker 01

So Luke Humphrey is that's his team. And I got hooked up with her before my first marathon in two thousand and nineteen. And I was like, I want to qualify for Boston. And she's like, well, you have to run a marathon. So I'm like, all right, well, let's, let's run this first one and then see, you know, if we can train up for the second one. And so I've been with her since two thousand and nineteen.

• 53:42Cameron Hanes?

Did you qualify? I mean, you did Boston.

• 53:45Speaker 01

Yeah. So I, the first marathon, she's like, just break through fifteen and so we can see how far we can go.

• 53:50Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah.

• 53:50Speaker 01

And then eight week training plan really quick and did three thirteen in Detroit.

• 53:54Cameron Hanes?

  That's good.

• 53:55Speaker 01

So area code three, one, three.

• 53:56Cameron Hanes?

  That's awesome. Oh, perfect.

• 53:57Speaker 01

And then COVID and then I ran two, two forty eight, like forty something.

• 54:03Cameron Hanes?

  Two forty eight?

• 54:04Speaker 01

  Twenty one.

• 54:05Cameron Hanes?

  Whoa.

• 54:05Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 54:06Cameron Hanes?

  Dude, that's good.

• 54:07Speaker 01

And then, but then now like I think I'm on like seventeen or eighteen marathons.

• 54:10Cameron Hanes?

  Oh, man.

• 54:11Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 54:12Cameron Hanes?

  Man, you're on one.

• 54:13Speaker 01

Yeah, we're just, just training and working.

• 54:15Cameron Hanes?

  Love it.

• 54:15Speaker 01

  Doing too much.

• 54:17Cameron Hanes?

You said the three, one, three, that reminds me of eight mile.

• 54:19Speaker 01

Yeah, yeah, yeah. The, the movie. Yeah.

• 54:21Cameron Hanes?

It's a three, one, three, put your, what, hands up. Yeah.

• 54:25Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 54:26Cameron Hanes?

I don't, one person did not put their hands up or what? I can't remember how, but I love that scene.

• 54:31Speaker 01

That was a good, it was a good movie. Eminem did a good job with the movie.

• 54:34Cameron Hanes?

I love, I loved it. Yeah. He's a good actor too.

• 54:37Speaker 01

Yeah, he didn't do bad. I mean, he's playing it. I mean, he was kind of playing himself.

• 54:39Cameron Hanes?

  He was, he was.

• 54:40Speaker 01

He did a good job at that. For sure.

• 54:42Cameron Hanes?

  You gotta deliver lines still.

• 54:43Speaker 01

  Yeah, yeah.

• 54:45Cameron Hanes?

Well, tell me about, uh, how, how was Eugene this time? Like, tell me, you've done that panel before then?

• 54:52Speaker 01

So I've done, so the PR project hosted the same type of show, like where it was, you know, eight guests in a day or whatever, just kind of back to back.

• 55:02Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah.

• 55:02Speaker 01

  So we've done that twice.

• 55:03Cameron Hanes?

  Okay.

• 55:04Speaker 01

We've done that for the running event. Have you been to the running event yet in, in Austin?

• 55:08Cameron Hanes?

  No, I haven't.

• 55:08Speaker 01

You should go. You should go on time. Both in San Antonio for a couple of years because they're doing like a renovation, but.

• 55:12Cameron Hanes?

  Oh, yeah.

• 55:13Speaker 01

It's a vibe. It's a vibe because like all the brands are there. But it's just, it's just a big conference and I think, I think you'd like it, but we've, we've, we hosted TRE Live there a couple of times in a row, or three times in a row now. Um, so we're just like really good at just sitting down, talking to people and kind of like cranking them out and, you know, next story, next story. Um, but this time was cool because it was just me this time. And it was, it was, it was cool to be able to, to just have those conversations again. But then each time it's somebody different, someone new, like you were, you were on the show with, with Alexi. So I just, I like talking to people and having just a few things that I wanted to talk about, just a couple of bullet points,

• 55:55Speaker 01

and then just kind of vibing out the rest and trying to figure out what makes people, you know, why are people there? And then, but then also like what makes them tick and have them move forward or, you know, what, why, why on earth would you want to be in Eugene, run the marathon, you know?

• 56:10Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah.

• 56:11Speaker 01

But it's been, it's been a vibe and got to see the marathon. I got to see you go by. I got to see my girl put down, put down a number.

• 56:19Cameron Hanes?

How is that? You were everywhere out there. How'd you get around so fast?

• 56:22Speaker 01

So I, so a couple of times I saw you and I was like, yeah, I don't think he wants me to.

• 56:26Cameron Hanes?

No, I was fine. I was, I was just like in a groove.

• 56:28Speaker 01

Yeah, yeah. I was just like, I don't know.

• 56:30Cameron Hanes?

  No, I was fine.

• 56:31Speaker 01

Yeah, but no, it was, it was, because I've been there. I mean, I haven't run the race.

• 56:34Cameron Hanes?

  You knew where it was.

• 56:35Speaker 01

Yeah, this is my fourth year here and I haven't run the marathon yet.

• 56:39Cameron Hanes?

You're like a professional spectator now.

• 56:41Speaker 01

I'm a professional, like that's why I should just, I need to add that to the bio.

• 56:45Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah.

• 56:45Speaker 01

On, on, uh, IG. But it was cool because like it's, it's not a bad course to spectate, you know, like if you don't, if you don't have a car to drive around, You can have a solid like three, maybe four, four points like at the start back in mile nine, just then cross the bridge sixteen.

• 57:02Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah.

• 57:02Speaker 01

And then back to like twenty five or whatever.

• 57:05Cameron Hanes?

  Right, yeah.

• 57:05Speaker 01

  So that's that's all.

• 57:06Cameron Hanes?

Is that where I saw you? Okay.

• 57:07Speaker 01

Yeah, I saw you. Yeah, I saw you at nine.

• 57:09Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah.

• 57:10Speaker 01

  Sixteen around that corner.

• 57:11Cameron Hanes?

Well, no, you weren't you up on the parkway?

• 57:14Speaker 01

Yeah, so I came over to twenty three. I came down that way.

• 57:18Cameron Hanes?

  Okay, gotcha, gotcha.

• 57:18Speaker 01

Yeah, you were zoned out. You don't even know where you were. But.

• 57:22Cameron Hanes?

  Pushing.

• 57:24Speaker 01

Yeah, it was a vibe because you mean you had like the the button up shirt.

• 57:30Speaker 01

You had to, you had to be play the role, you know?

• 57:32Cameron Hanes?

  Got to do something crazy.

• 57:33Speaker 01

  Yeah, yeah.

• 57:33Cameron Hanes?

I gotta make, take advantage of this before I get it changed out.

• 57:37Speaker 01

  What are you gonna put?

• 57:38Cameron Hanes?

  They made a white one.

• 57:39Speaker 01

  Oh, no.

• 57:40Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah.

• 57:42Speaker 01

People are gonna, people are gonna unfollow you, dog.

• 57:44Cameron Hanes?

I know, we're doing a, yeah, anyway, we got a plan, but so they said I had a fake tooth. They said I had a cavity under it. So they had to pull it out. So they pulled it out and then there was no cavity. So now I'm like, now I had a good tooth. Now I gotta redo this. Anyway, I had to go, my teeth, I used to bleach them. Anyway, they wanted to match the color. So they said, come over here so it can match your, your teeth. On the color. And then I get over there and they said, hey, she's like, hey, my husband does a really good job on gold teeth. Do you want for fun? Make a gold one? I'm like.

• 58:16Speaker 01

So how long have you had that?

• 58:18Cameron Hanes?

  Couple of weeks.

• 58:19Speaker 01

Oh, that's it? Okay, no, like, you gotta think, feel like you gotta like, keep it for.

• 58:25Cameron Hanes?

Now it's like, yeah, I mean, I used to be so self caught, like wanted perfect teeth, perfect hair, like now I just don't even care.

• 58:34Speaker 01

But if you're gonna have something there, it has to be a gold tooth.

• 58:37Cameron Hanes?

  I feel like.

• 58:38Speaker 01

I don't, I don't know. I think that if you're listening to this, I feel like you need to comment right away. So he doesn't do this.

• 58:44Cameron Hanes?

  Smash that like button.

• 58:45Speaker 01

Smash that like button and say gold tooth.

• 58:48Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah.

• 58:49Speaker 01

If you want him to keep the.

• 58:50Cameron Hanes?

There you go. Yeah, yeah. I, I could easily be talked into keeping it.

• 58:53Speaker 01

I just feel like you should keep it. Like, I don't know. I think that you should keep it.

• 58:58Cameron Hanes?

  What if your girl says?

• 58:59Speaker 01

What do you, you think you should keep the gold tooth? See?

• 59:05Cameron Hanes?

  The white one looked perfect.

• 59:10Speaker 01

  Okay.

• 59:11Cameron Hanes?

It did. They put the white one in. I was like, God dang that.

• 59:15Speaker 01

  That looks good.

• 59:15Cameron Hanes?

That does look good, but let me see the gold one again. I'm like, yeah, let's see that. Except I told him to not do the permanent permanent cement. So I was other day I was running like on the course and the tooth fell out.

• 59:28Speaker 01

  Jesus.

• 59:29Cameron Hanes?

And I'm like, I'm like, I took a drink and then I was like.

• 59:33Speaker 01

Do you talk different immediately when it's gone?

• 59:36Cameron Hanes?

Well, no, I was like, where did that tooth go? It was the gold tooth. And so then I thought, did I swallow that?

• 59:43Speaker 01

  Oh, my God.

• 59:43Cameron Hanes?

And I'm like, I'm gonna have to make myself puke. And because I was walking up another sidewalk over there on Amazon. And I'm like, where the hell is that tooth? And finally I found it.

• 59:52Speaker 01

  Oh, my God.

• 59:53Cameron Hanes?

So, yeah, anyway, we got it fixed now.

• 59:56Speaker 01

Okay. All right. I can't wait to see the story of this of this gold tooth. What happens next in the in the saga of the tooth?

• 1:00:02Cameron Hanes?

And we're making a video, so I'm well, that that Bentley out there is like, I give away cars. So if you buy merch off my website, you have a chance of I've I've never given away a car, but I've given away a lot of trucks. If you buy merch, you have a chance for every dollar you spend, you get a point, whatever. You can win this Bentley, right? With the camo flames. So, but what I'm doing is we're gonna have like, because I used to be, well, I still kind of am a redneck hillbilly, but even more so. And lived in trailer trailer parks type of stuff. So we're gonna do a we got, did you talk to that trailer park guy? Yeah. Are we good?

• 1:00:45Cameron Hanes?

Yeah. So we're getting, I'm gonna like, act like I'm living in a trailer park.

• 1:00:52Speaker 01

  Okay.

• 1:00:52Cameron Hanes?

  But with this car.

• 1:00:54Speaker 01

  Oh, my God.

• 1:00:54Cameron Hanes?

And I'm gonna wake up in the morning and grab my gold tooth and put it in. In the trailer and then I'm gonna go to the mirror, just thrash trailer. And this is my life when I started and then like play the answer machine. Some girl's gonna be saying what a piece of shit I am and then drunk and all this. And then I'm gonna go out of the trailer and get in that car. And so this is, and then we have cops that are gonna chase me.

• 1:01:19Speaker 01

Oh, my God. Wait, what's happening right now?

• 1:01:22Cameron Hanes?

So it's gonna be a whole video.

• 1:01:24Speaker 01

I don't know which story. Is better. The tooth.

• 1:01:29Cameron Hanes?

  We'll see.

• 1:01:30Speaker 01

On the on the sidewalk or or they getting chased by cops out of a trailer in a Bentley.

• 1:01:37Cameron Hanes?

We gotta make make we gotta make the most of it.

• 1:01:39Speaker 01

This that sounds like a like a random recreation remix of of Eminem's Eight Mile Story. Because, you know, he was in a trailer.

• 1:01:48Cameron Hanes?

  I know.

• 1:01:48Speaker 01

Yeah, so it's like this you've you've taken it to another level, though. Yeah.

• 1:01:53Cameron Hanes?

Well, and I like that. You know, he said he's white trash. I do live with my mom. So you take away all this shit people can say about you.

• 1:02:00Speaker 01

Then you just rap, you know.

• 1:02:02Cameron Hanes?

Then so that's what I do.

• 1:02:03Speaker 01

Okay. Bro, now we're getting to the bottom of like the whole camera hate story. You've just modeled yourself after Eminem after all these years. Nobody knew.

• 1:02:12Cameron Hanes?

  No.

• 1:02:12Speaker 01

  Nobody knew.

• 1:02:13Cameron Hanes?

  Now I've been been exposed.

• 1:02:14Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 1:02:16Cameron Hanes?

Yeah, it was. It was fun seeing you out there on the course and like I I just like I just loved the Eugene Marathon, but I was like having you there and having because I didn't run last year, as I said, I was hurt, so I didn't see you last year, but I just thought it was such a good addition there to have that.

• 1:02:32Speaker 01

  Appreciate that.

• 1:02:33Cameron Hanes?

Part of that. And every time when I was over there, because I went over there to make that bracelet yesterday, but it it was like.

• 1:02:40Speaker 01

A lot of people over there, yeah. It's it's definitely growing. Like, I mean, obviously, they have 1,500 more runners or marathoners this year than last year.

• 1:02:48Cameron Hanes?

  Wow.

• 1:02:48Speaker 01

So it's growing pretty fast and I've I've been really, you know, we've we've been blessed to be like a part of it and you know, last year we had Kira Tomato on as like the main guest or whatever. So a lot of people showed up for that and we had a big shakeout run last year, a big shakeout run this year. So it's been it's been really cool to like for them to embrace, you know, because what happened was like I got invited, what, four years ago to come and I had just run Boston. I'm like, or I was planning on running Boston.

• 1:03:17Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah.

• 1:03:17Speaker 01

And I'm like, I'm not gonna run because I'm doing Boston. That's like my goal race. But if you I got an idea and that's my I'm a smart thing. I like pitch ideas.

• 1:03:27Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah. That's good.

• 1:03:29Speaker 01

I just feel like it's it'd be more me if I pitched the idea to you instead of you giving me the idea.

• 1:03:33Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah, yeah.

• 1:03:34Speaker 01

But pitched the idea and we came out and they my friends, two of my friends ran the race, Gary and Aaron. And then she's like, we want you back. And I was like, well, how about this time we sit down and do a show? And then she was like, yeah, sure. So we haven't got ourselves booted yet. So we're just gonna keep coming back. Maybe next year I'll run the race.

• 1:03:53Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah.

• 1:03:54Speaker 01

Maybe next year I'll run the race. I was gonna say, if I run the UG marathon, will you crew me?

• 1:03:58Cameron Hanes?

  Oh, I'll run with you.

• 1:04:01Speaker 01

  All right.

• 1:04:01Cameron Hanes?

  How about that?

• 1:04:02Speaker 01

  I'll take that.

• 1:04:03Cameron Hanes?

Which like, yeah, I mean, I don't know. What would your goal be?

• 1:04:07Speaker 01

  I don't know by then.

• 1:04:08Cameron Hanes?

Yeah, we're gonna see where you're at.

• 1:04:09Speaker 01

I'd love to, you know, after this, after Western, I'd love to, if the schedule doesn't get weird, I'd love to like run a fast marathon in the fall, you know? And so, you know, what if I found myself back on a marathon?

• 1:04:21Cameron Hanes?

I know. That'd be sick. I mean, you could, you could probably get in the 30s, 30s.

• 1:04:26Speaker 01

  Yeah, for sure.

• 1:04:27Cameron Hanes?

You could take eight minutes off.

• 1:04:28Speaker 01

I've tried to break my, so my PR is in Boston of 246, 59.

• 1:04:33Cameron Hanes?

Oh, 246. Yeah, so six minutes.

• 1:04:35Speaker 01

In 2023. And, but I've tried to break it, like, honestly tried like three times.

• 1:04:43Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah.

• 1:04:44Speaker 01

Two of them were back to back. So maybe the second one wasn't necessarily. I did Berlin and then Chicago.

• 1:04:49Cameron Hanes?

  Okay.

• 1:04:49Speaker 01

But I've, I just, I don't like, no shade to Berlin Marathon as a race. I just don't like super flat. I don't think.

• 1:04:55Cameron Hanes?

  Right.

• 1:04:56Speaker 01

  I just, the super flat.

• 1:04:57Cameron Hanes?

  Want some variation.

• 1:04:58Speaker 01

Yeah, a little bit. And, and then came back and then did Chicago and tried that there. But so I haven't broken that PR. And it's a long time to carry a PR. And Boston's a weird course to have a PR at three years old.

• 1:05:10Cameron Hanes?

It's not 20 years, dude. I carried mine for 20 years.

• 1:05:13Speaker 01

That's true. That's true. I mean, but maybe I need to go to jogging.

• 1:05:18Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah.

• 1:05:18Speaker 01

And not doing a training plan.

• 1:05:22Cameron Hanes?

Yeah, no, I think, yeah, it'd be cool to. So have you done the whole like track workout?

• 1:05:27Speaker 01

Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. I mean, because I started with a coach before I ran a marathon. Because like, I thought like, if I'm gonna qualify for Boston within a year and a half of this moment, then I'm gonna need some help.

• 1:05:38Cameron Hanes?

  You need some help.

• 1:05:38Speaker 01

And, and that kind of goes back to like the sobriety thing. Because like, I know when I need help. And.

• 1:05:43Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah.

• 1:05:44Speaker 01

  And let's

• 1:05:45Cameron Hanes?

  That's a good choice.

• 1:05:45Speaker 01

Yeah, let's ju- let's jump in. And she's been great, though, because she's she's trained me through the the T S P thing. Um, through the hundred milers, a hundred Ks, the sixteen seventeen marathons and all that. So she's been great. Like, she's been super flexible. Um, like twenty twenty four, I ran uh seven marathons.

• 1:06:01Cameron Hanes?

  Whoa.

• 1:06:02Speaker 01

But all six majors before there were seven. And then of the seven, the first one was Osaka.

• 1:06:07Cameron Hanes?

  Oh, man.

• 1:06:08Speaker 01

  Osaka, Tokyo, seven days apart.

• 1:06:10Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah.

• 1:06:10Speaker 01

And um, so she's been, she's been a vibe, bro.

• 1:06:13Cameron Hanes?

That's sick. You got to do all that. How lucky is that?

• 1:06:16Speaker 01

  Yeah, super. I mean, I didn't even.

• 1:06:17Cameron Hanes?

Well, must be, see, must be nice. You earned it.

• 1:06:20Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 1:06:20Cameron Hanes?

But people say lucky. I'll say lucky, but pretty amazing.

• 1:06:23Speaker 01

Yeah. Oh, yeah. Lucky blessed or something.

• 1:06:25Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah, I mean.

• 1:06:26Speaker 01

Because it's the opportunity. Opportunity shows up, and if you're ready.

• 1:06:30Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah, you gotta be ready.

• 1:06:31Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 1:06:31Cameron Hanes?

And available and and willing. Um, what's the, what's the newest major?

• 1:06:37Speaker 01

  Um, Sydney.

• 1:06:38Cameron Hanes?

  Oh, Sydney.

• 1:06:38Speaker 01

Yeah, so Sydney's the seventh, and then they'll do, uh, I believe, like Cape Town will probably be the eighth.

• 1:06:44Cameron Hanes?

  Hmm.

• 1:06:44Speaker 01

Like soon, maybe like next year.

• 1:06:46Cameron Hanes?

  Hmm.

• 1:06:47Speaker 01

And then, um, uh, like Shanghai, I think, will be nine. So it'll be nine majors.

• 1:06:52Cameron Hanes?

Running's going ape shit, isn't it?

• 1:06:54Speaker 01

Yeah, and then you got, then you got London doing a hun- trying to have a hundred thousand people in two days.

• 1:06:59Cameron Hanes?

  It's just crazy how.

• 1:07:01Speaker 01

Do you like it? Do you like the, like, the way it's?

• 1:07:04Cameron Hanes?

  As popular as it is?

• 1:07:05Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 1:07:05Cameron Hanes?

Um, I mean, there's always growing pains.

• 1:07:08Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 1:07:08Cameron Hanes?

You know, but no, I I like it because I I like people doing cool shit.

• 1:07:11Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 1:07:12Cameron Hanes?

You know, it's like most, I want people who aren't doing cool stuff to get out and live.

• 1:07:18Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 1:07:18Cameron Hanes?

You know, and uh, what I always say when I meet somebody, my thing is like, tell me a story.

• 1:07:24Speaker 01

  Mm hmm.

• 1:07:26Cameron Hanes?

If they don't have a good story, I'm like, what the? What are we doing? What are we doing?

• 1:07:31Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 1:07:32Cameron Hanes?

I want to hear us. Tell me a good story about something you've done. And some people just don't, don't have them. And so I love that, you know, running can, you have stuff to talk about. You have experiences to talk about. You have success and failures and people you met. And all these things, it's like that, okay, now we're, that's living.

• 1:07:54Speaker 01

Yeah, I feel like, I feel, yeah, I agree. I agree that like it gives you like. Um, a thing to talk about, but I feel like this. When people ask me about like content and like, what's a, get some advice to, to whatever and grow my channel and all this other stuff. I think that like, we all have, we all have stories.

• 1:08:12Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah.

• 1:08:13Speaker 01

I just feel like we're so, we're so, for so long, you're, you're, you tell yourself like your story doesn't matter.

• 1:08:19Cameron Hanes?

  Right. Yeah.

• 1:08:20Speaker 01

You know, like there's, if you just worked at like Staples for 20 years, I mean, it's, it's a different story. But you have, you have something, you know, and I just, that's, that's my thing. Like if.

• 1:08:35Speaker 01

People are telling their stories like literally changed and saved my life, you know, in the rooms, A A. So it's like, that's why.

• 1:08:42Cameron Hanes?

  And it wasn't.

• 1:08:42Speaker 01

  I put mine forward.

• 1:08:43Cameron Hanes?

Right. And it probably wasn't like what people would, would categorize as an amazing story.

• 1:08:49Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 1:08:49Cameron Hanes?

But it's their story. Yeah. So I, you know what, it run, when I did these books, I didn't think I had anything worth a book.

• 1:08:58Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 1:08:59Cameron Hanes?

So it's kind of the same thing.

• 1:09:00Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 1:09:01Cameron Hanes?

And the, my publishers convinced me that, oh no, this is, this is good. People would enjoy this. And I'm like, I doubt it. So it's, it's just that.

• 1:09:09Speaker 01

And it's, it's like, but once you find a hobby or a thing, then it's like, that can be like the canvas. That likes, that lets you start telling that story.

• 1:09:18Cameron Hanes?

  That's true.

• 1:09:18Speaker 01

Cause it doesn't always have to be like, my story isn't necessarily about running, you know, like I just do that. But then because I do that, you know, if I was like bowling and I love that or whatever, I would probably somehow be doing. The same storytelling kind of through bowling, you know, and I just like, whatever your hobby is or whatever your thing is. To me, um, it's easy for, I guess, me to say or whatever, but I feel like I'd rather have. A smaller following and like all of, and everybody that sees my stuff is like, feels something and.

• 1:09:47Cameron Hanes?

  Mm hmm.

• 1:09:48Speaker 01

Resonates because that story seems unique and, and it resonates with them. Then like have, um, no story and just kind of like.

• 1:09:56Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah.

• 1:09:57Speaker 01

You know, just churning out a thing.

• 1:09:59Cameron Hanes?

Yeah. Just, just to appeal to followers.

• 1:10:01Speaker 01

And but then there's people that have both.

• 1:10:03Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah.

• 1:10:03Speaker 01

Which is amazing. And, and those, those are people that like, that. Make change in really cool ways. And I had a question for you too. So it's like you've created this thing. And you start off and we're on the panel or in the pod and you're like, you know, I'm a bow hunter first. And then, but then from my view, you're all the, you know, you're a runner, you know? And but you've built this whole thing based off of like who you are at your core, which is a bow runner and a bow hunter. But how do, you know, as you've built this thing, and I'm sure people reach out to you for so many different ways. Cause you talk about struggle, you talk about keep hammering and all these other things.

• 1:10:45Speaker 01

But what's like one thing that like you feel that you continually tell people about like how you got to this point? That maybe people like overlook, like how do you become like camera hands that people don't know?

• 1:11:00Cameron Hanes?

It's just not quitting. It's just, you know, I had a passion. It was bow hunting and I was obsessed with it. And then I just haven't quit. Like everything I've done, even with running was to help me in bow hunting. And so what I would say is no matter, sometimes it takes a long time. Like I did this for decades before really anybody knew who I was, right? And if you want that immediate, or the, you know, I mean, immediate returns or the quick fix. Or it's just probably not going to happen. So, but if you're willing to put your head down and just get to work and grind.

• 1:11:41Cameron Hanes?

And, you know, stay true to, I guess, your passions and just the hard work and not take shortcuts. Then yeah, you can, you can turn it into something special. But like even the running today was a great example of my PR. I've been doing this for 50 years, right? I just haven't quit. So how, how does somebody get faster after 50 years? Just gotta keep going to work. Just gotta keep putting in the work. And, and so that's the only reason why I've had success in anything is this, I just don't quit. Like, there's a lot of people, like, I went to school with, better athletes, obviously smarter.

• 1:12:23Speaker 01

  Obviously smarter is great.

• 1:12:25Cameron Hanes?

Connect, more connected, their family had more money, but I just never quit. And so I've, I've, you know, passed up all of them, but they had all the advantage. But it's just, it's hard to, you know, people just want these, this, these results too fast. And they give up on things before, because they don't get them, and who knows what it could have led to.

• 1:12:50Speaker 01

So like, another question, I guess, a follow up for that, like, just like how running for you, you know, you did this all, in all these years. And then, but you made, like, you made a switch, you changed something, you know, like, you didn't just continue to do, you, you, you didn't quit, but you, you've made a pivot. And, but I'd imagine, like, for, we've all had a moment where, like, we're, we're sticking to the plan, we're doing the thing. But maybe when other people would just stick to that and not necessarily learn or change.

• 1:13:20Cameron Hanes?

  Right.

• 1:13:20Speaker 01

That little shift is, you know, essentially, you know, the two thirty nine.

• 1:13:25Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah, yeah.

• 1:13:26Speaker 01

And, so I think it's important to keep hammering and keep pushing. But then there's also, like, those moments where things align and you should listen to subtle changes, like, not quit or go the other direction, but it's like, maybe I should try this little new way.

• 1:13:42Cameron Hanes?

Yeah, I, when I think of that, um, when you bring that up, it reminds me of, like, my buddy Joe Rogan. He was, for years, he's telling me to quit my job, because I had a full-time job just until I, I retired three years ago. I was, I worked at the Water and Power Company here, I was a superintendent in the Water Division. And I worked there for twenty six or twenty seven years. So that's what I did. And he's just like, dude, he goes, you need to quit that job. I'm like, job's the best job I've ever had. How can I quit the best job I've ever had? I'm making good money, I'm, I like leading men, I like construction. I like, I was a buyer for twenty years, so I like numbers and buying and contracts.

• 1:14:29Cameron Hanes?

Why would I quit that? This is, this is all I'm good at. And uh, and then he's just like, no, he goes, you, you know, your podcast could do well, you could just, you'd be way more successful if you didn't have to go that job every day. And I didn't believe him for years. And then finally, I said, you know, got to where over at Springfield Utility Board, when you're 55, you can retire if you've been there, I think 20 years or something like that, and get all your retirement. So I made it till my 55th birthday. That was my last day. And uh, so that was three years ago. And then now this has happened. So none of this would have happened.

• 1:15:10Speaker 01

  Without.

• 1:15:11Cameron Hanes?

Without that. And if, if I want to quit that, I couldn't have went and taken Jelly Roll Hunting. I couldn't have went, like, all these, like, giant life-changing events would never have happened because I had to be at work.

• 1:15:24Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 1:15:24Cameron Hanes?

So that's an example of sometimes you just have to, even though, nobody would blame me for not quitting that job.

• 1:15:32Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 1:15:32Cameron Hanes?

Because it was a good job and a career and it provided, you know, for my family. So nobody's saying you're an idiot for keeping that job, but there was a better path and I just had to do it.

• 1:15:44Speaker 01

Yeah. That kind of like, it feels like my, my TSP, the Speed Project experience.

• 1:15:48Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah.

• 1:15:49Speaker 01

So like my, my, the company I worked for all those years was, was changing and it had, they had to sell or whatever. And I got offered the same position at this next company that was going to be buying ours, you know? And this was in February of 2025 and TSP is a month away. You know, because I'll be gone for how many other days from LA to Las Vegas.

• 1:16:12Cameron Hanes?

  Right.

• 1:16:12Speaker 01

And they offered the position and they're like, as soon as you, we're really excited to have you on or whatever. We'll get you back on the road, traveling again as much as you were. And you know, like that whole like corporate thing.

• 1:16:23Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah.

• 1:16:23Speaker 01

And I'm on the call like, if they could see me, I'm like, you are not saying what I need you to say.

• 1:16:29Cameron Hanes?

It's the last thing I wanted to hear.

• 1:16:30Speaker 01

And then they're like, you got like 10 days PTO. And I'm like, 10 days? Bro, I'm about to, I'm about to use eight of them like next month. And, but that was like the vibe, like it would have been, I guess, like smart, just like for, you know, like. It'd have been smarter, okay.

• 1:16:46Cameron Hanes?

  It's a safe bet, a safe bet.

• 1:16:48Speaker 01

But I was able to, like, I just said, no, I'm, I'm okay. And, and then I ran TSP the next year, or like the next month. And that, you know, we'll see how, it's only a year ago now, but we'll see. It feels like it's changed my life a lot.

• 1:17:01Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah.

• 1:17:03Speaker 01

Not just in not having the job, but doing something that's like way out of, out of the ballpark for me, you know, originally. And now I'm, you know, running the Western, Western States in.

• 1:17:12Cameron Hanes?

  It's amazing, dude.

• 1:17:13Speaker 01

  What, nine weeks?

• 1:17:14Cameron Hanes?

  I'd love to see it.

• 1:17:15Speaker 01

  Yeah. So it's like.

• 1:17:16Cameron Hanes?

  Crushing it.

• 1:17:17Speaker 01

Yeah. So I guess the only reason I asked that, because I knew you're, I knew it would be, you know, you know, next, next, next, keep pushing. But then at the same time, it's like you, you've made, you've obviously made smart decisions or changes along the way that, that I think people think that a lot of the people that are successful in like high flying and stuff like that, that they stick to one thing and they just hammer it home. And then you're like, but I've been doing this for how many years? Nothing's happened. It's like, what things have you passed up along the way that could have been a little deviation?

• 1:17:45Cameron Hanes?

That's true. Yeah. That's, that's the actual, that's a wrinkle I wasn't considering. I was just thinking about, do you have merch?

• 1:17:55Speaker 01

  I, I, I don't yet. I've had merch in the past.

• 1:17:58Cameron Hanes?

  Okay.

• 1:17:59Speaker 01

I've had like little drops here and there that, that worked out. Because that's my podcast, the time I ran, so I started off as the Run, Eat, Sleep Show.

• 1:18:06Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah.

• 1:18:07Speaker 01

And I was just talking to runners, like just back to back, like that's how I interview like Sarah Hall, stuff like that. And I, I had a shirt that said Run, Eat, Sleep, Repeat on it. So like, that was my merch at the time. But I think with this new Ultra world thing, I have something kind of brewing that I'm excited about.

• 1:18:26Cameron Hanes?

Well, you got a look, you know, you got a unique look. You can, you can market that for sure.

• 1:18:30Speaker 01

Yeah, for sure. I'm trying to.

• 1:18:31Cameron Hanes?

Yeah, no, you, you got, you got what it, I mean, dude, you could, you are blowing up and I love it.

• 1:18:36Speaker 01

  I appreciate that.

• 1:18:37Cameron Hanes?

I didn't, you know. This wasn't planned. This just kind of happened organically just because I was over there. Then, hey, want to be on the pod? Saw you all day today. It was just, it's just awesome. I'm super, super grateful that, you know, I know we were out on the marathon course all day. This is last sitting in that hard chair. Probably is not the greatest thing to do right now, but I really appreciate you guys coming over in this time.

• 1:19:02Speaker 01

Oh, man, I appreciate that. It was actually when the way, you know, it happened, we did the interview and then you were just kind of like right away like, hey, you want to be on the pod? And like, I know I've seen your podcast before and I've seen the guests and people that you have on the show. And it was to me, I'm like, you know, even if we had to like, stay a little longer or something like that, to be honest, like, I don't think that you just like randomly ask people to be on the show. So it was an honor to be invited to come over. So appreciate it, man.

• 1:19:27Cameron Hanes?

Oh, yeah, dude. No, I'm, I'm, I'm, the pleasure is mine. Did you have any questions?

• 1:19:32Speaker 02

  I have a couple.

• 1:19:33Cameron Hanes?

  Okay.

• 1:19:37Speaker 01

We got referring to the crowd, you know?

• 1:19:40Cameron Hanes?

These are going to be stupid questions and we usually cut them out.

• 1:19:42Speaker 02

I've got, I've got a couple of good ones.

• 1:19:44Cameron Hanes?

  He can barely speak.

• 1:19:47Speaker 02

It seems like there's kind of a, um, a through thread of runners who are, have been alcoholics or addicts. And you guys kind of touched on it, but why do you think it is that so many of them have a story where they've gotten sober and they've turned to running as their new fix or the new thing that they're kind of addicted to?

• 1:20:11Speaker 01

I think that it's, well, I don't like to say addicted to it. Um, because like to me addiction is, I've even heard like Rich Roll say this a lot. It's like addiction is, is takes from you, you know, it's harmful. It harms your family. It harms you. Um, and running is, it could be a passion or a hobby or a habit, you know, more so than, because it, I feel better. I feel my family is, my kids are, can be inspired by it and watch what I do.

• 1:20:41Cameron Hanes?

  It's like an enhancement.

• 1:20:42Speaker 01

It's enhancement, like the discipline, you know? Um, but I think that, um, sobriety and, and running or movement that you're, that you like have to make a decision to rededicate yourself to often. Um, sometimes every day you got to dedicate yourself to going to do the thing. It feels a lot like, um,

• 1:21:08Speaker 01

The, the, the, um, it feels like the kind of the grind of, of maybe being an addict or an alcoholic, but it's your choice. You know, like you talked about like suffering in, in a way and I, I've always said like, I'll never suffer as, as much as I did um, in alcoholism as I, you know, the little suffering that I gotta deal with on the road or the trail. But it's a choice and I feel like the way that you can decide to go for a run and suffer a bit and feel better at the end versus not being able to control it and then just suffering every day. I, I feel like something about that, that feeling of choosing to suffer

• 1:21:51Speaker 01

is attractive to people who have suffered for so long. Kind of at the hands or at the power of something else.

• 1:21:59Cameron Hanes?

  Their addiction, yeah.

• 1:22:00Speaker 01

You know, and so I think it's, it's a, it's a comfort to be able to go someplace for a little while and get close to that and step away from it and feel, and be done with it and feel better. And then get to do it again tomorrow.

• 1:22:15Cameron Hanes?

Like they control the, the terms of it.

• 1:22:17Speaker 01

Yeah, like I can, I chose it.

• 1:22:19Cameron Hanes?

Cause like drinking, sometimes you're not even, you don't control it.

• 1:22:22Speaker 01

I don't, yeah, I, I think some people may be able to control that thing, but I can't. And I know that I had no, I had no control over that and the, the choi, the, the times that I drank and the, and the choices to drink in mo, in times and moments when I could, I could feel like when I would touch things with my fingers, I would, I'd, I'd feel it like a half a second later. And I was only thirty three, I was on high blood pressure medicine. You know, I could, I would, I could feel my blood pressure was getting higher, like my face would kind of go a little numb, my fingers would go a little numb. And I was still drinking through that, you know, and, but now I get to decide to go suffer a bit for a six mile run or a ten mile run or a twenty or whatever, and I feel good after.

• 1:23:08Speaker 01

And I think that for some reason, those two things just kind of go well together for, for folks that like struggle through something for a long time.

• 1:23:16Cameron Hanes?

  That makes sense.

• 1:23:19Cameron Hanes?

Have you talked to Max Joeliff yet?

• 1:23:21Speaker 01

I've I've met Max. I haven't talked like sat down and talked to him yet, but I I watched the King of Moab. Like a few times when I was training for I was training for C S V and I'm just like watching that like over and over.

• 1:23:32Cameron Hanes?

  It's like a regular movie.

• 1:23:33Speaker 01

Yeah, it is. I like the Beach Kid too.

• 1:23:36Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah, me too.

• 1:23:37Speaker 01

That was the first one I think I saw and then I saw King of Moab and I'm like, okay, this is cool. Like, and he, I think he's talking about sobriety more and more, so that's good.

• 1:23:45Cameron Hanes?

Yeah, that I saw your tattoo on your hand and so I was like, uh.

• 1:23:48Speaker 01

  This one?

• 1:23:49Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah.

• 1:23:49Speaker 01

So this one, so if I could, so this one, my, um, my best friend, he, uh, I met him when I was like 12, or like, and we just like immediately were like, like literally brothers, you know, and, um, we went through a bunch of random shit together, um, over the years and he passed in, um, on March 15th of, of, of, uh, last, last March in 2025, like a week before I went off to run from L A to Vegas. So, um, and he passed essentially, you know, or potentially because of, um, a substance abuse. And I didn't know what he was going through, you know, and it kind of, uh, it it hit me really hard. So I got this tat. It's like a

• 1:24:33Speaker 01

the Celtic symbol for brotherhood or friendship. And I got this tat right before I went to, to, to, um, to run across the desert. We were, I were in Death Valley on the Saturday he was born, you know? I mean, not born, uh, buried.

• 1:24:45Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah.

• 1:24:45Speaker 01

Um, and it just, that's just, I'm so I'm glad you kind of like pointed it out, but.

• 1:24:50Cameron Hanes?

I'm sorry that you lost that battle.

• 1:24:53Speaker 01

Yeah, yeah, it's, um, I mean, it sucks, but then, you know, like, it kind of made me, um, like, remember what I got sober for too.

• 1:25:02Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah.

• 1:25:03Speaker 01

And it isn't just for a selfish pursuit of just like feeling good. It's like I should be able to tap in and tell the stories and continue to try to actually help people, you know, and not just use it as like some type of stick or whatever.

• 1:25:16Cameron Hanes?

Right. Yeah, that's true. Yeah, that's, that's a good perspective. Did you have another one?

• 1:25:21Speaker 02

Yeah, one more. So you had mentioned, you know, you could have never dreamed of what this had turned into, uh, years ago when you started it. So now that you're here, where do you draw that line of dreaming too big and not dreaming enough?

• 1:25:35Speaker 01

  Oh, man, I don't think that there's, I don't think that there's really anything, you know, there's never a dream that's too big. I don't feel, um.

• 1:25:46Speaker 01

I just feel like the bigger your dream is, the more you'll just have to put action or work or or process behind it. And I think that we all skewed towards probably not dreaming enough. And like the concept of like, I don't have a story to tell.

• 1:26:02Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah.

• 1:26:03Speaker 01

But it's, I think if we maybe just step away a little bit of from the thing that we do every day. And like the grind that we kind of have to put ourselves through, or whether it's responsibilities or a job or whatever, if you take a step back from those things, you have a little more room to like see potentially where the dream could be if you don't feel like you have one. Or you don't have big enough ones. But for me, like I want, I have to kind of remind myself, not that I'm like that guy, but I mean, I think I am sometimes. But you have to kind of remind yourself what you want to do with this life.

• 1:26:47Speaker 01

That's what for for me, I guess I have to remind myself what I want to do. And the things that I'd like to do, and I'd like to

• 1:26:57Speaker 01

create more in the world and touch more people in the world and leave an impact that that matters. And so I have to remind myself to dream bigger.

• 1:27:12Speaker 01

It because it just, I'm blessed to be here. Like I literally, I know for sure I wouldn't be here, you know, so

• 1:27:21Speaker 01

who am I to not like remind myself like, bro, like, go circle the moon or something.

• 1:27:26Cameron Hanes?

  Right, right.

• 1:27:27Speaker 01

I have no desire to go around the moon.

• 1:27:29Cameron Hanes?

Tommy runs the movie. That's what I see.

• 1:27:32Speaker 01

Bro, I mean, we got to do a book first.

• 1:27:35Cameron Hanes?

A book, a book's easy. Yeah. I mean, you got, you got, you're, I mean, you're so insightful and like you. Okay, it's no surprise that you're good at conversation and talking to people and and putting things in perspective because you you have a gift. You are, you are really.

• 1:27:55Cameron Hanes?

Yeah, I mean, you're good. So I'm not surprised at the success, but I'm also not surprised. I won't be surprised on where it goes because I just feel like it's, yeah, you have what it takes.

• 1:28:06Speaker 01

  I appreciate that, man.

• 1:28:07Cameron Hanes?

Yeah. Now, this has been, this has been amazing. I'm super grateful. You're good, James? Yeah. Okay.

• 1:28:15Speaker 01

No more, James? Oh, my gosh.

• 1:28:18Cameron Hanes?

Dude, I just want to say thank you.

• 1:28:19Speaker 01

  Thank you.

• 1:28:20Cameron Hanes?

  Thank you for.

• 1:28:21Speaker 01

  Appreciate it, man.

• 1:28:21Cameron Hanes?

For doing this, making time. I know you guys want to just get out of here and relax. I get it, but I'm super grateful.

• 1:28:28Speaker 01

We got, we got an after-party to go to, man.

• 1:28:30Cameron Hanes?

  Are you?

• 1:28:31Speaker 01

  I don't know.

• 1:28:32Cameron Hanes?

  Oh.

• 1:28:34Speaker 01

The only time I go to parties is like literally at marathons. Like if I'm at home.

• 1:28:38Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah.

• 1:28:38Speaker 01

Just invite me because I want to be invited, but.

• 1:28:41Cameron Hanes?

  But I won't be there.

• 1:28:42Speaker 01

I may actually have something to do, you know?

• 1:28:45Cameron Hanes?

Yeah, no. Well, get to that after-party. Thank you. Yeah, appreciate it.

• 1:28:50Speaker 01

Appreciate you, man. Thanks so much.

• 1:28:51Cameron Hanes?

  Keep hammering, guys.
