  Come on, Rock. I'm feeling.

• 1:54Speaker 01

Yeah, you know what? I'm just feeling, you know, life is good, man. I'm just having a, I'm having a good time.

• 2:00Keke Palmer?

And you're getting a pause because you just was on tour.

• 2:02Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 2:03Keke Palmer?

  I mean, how?

• 2:03Speaker 01

No, I ain't get no pause, girl. I was just on set, yes, the, yeah.

• 2:07Keke Palmer?

So what you working on right now?

• 2:09Speaker 01

  I can't say.

• 2:10Keke Palmer?

  You can't tell me?

• 2:11Speaker 01

  I ain't talking.

• 2:11Keke Palmer?

I'm living for you getting into all the bags.

• 2:13Speaker 01

  Yeah, yeah.

• 2:14Keke Palmer?

The acting bag, music bag always been going. Acting bag going, it's been going. This is good. I can't wait to hear about whatever this new project is.

• 2:20Speaker 01

  Yeah, it's dope.

• 2:21Keke Palmer?

You can let me know on the air.

• 2:22Speaker 01

I'm about to say, I'm about to tell you.

• 2:23Keke Palmer?

  We can't let y'all know.

• 2:24Speaker 01

I can't see on y'all, I'm gonna get in trouble.

• 2:26Keke Palmer?

Okay, so let's talk about this tour real quick. Because you said the last doll is, it might mean that you dropping doll from your name. It might mean you taking a step back from music. It might mean that your daughter Clarity is the last doll. You ain't having no more kids.

• 2:39Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 2:39Keke Palmer?

But also you said you're an indecisive Pisces. So how are you feeling about what the last doll means to you now?

• 2:46Speaker 01

Definitely taking it off my name. Definitely Clarity is the last doll.

• 2:52Keke Palmer?

So all of it, damn near.

• 2:53Speaker 01

Yeah, all of it. All of it still is the, all of it is the same. Um, but for the most part, it was just like, you know, I'm growing into this woman.

• 3:00Keke Palmer?

  Yeah.

• 3:01Speaker 01

With two kids and I'm just over the doll.

• 3:03Keke Palmer?

  Yeah, yeah. It's an evolution.

• 3:05Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 3:05Keke Palmer?

What would you describe the era of Kash Doll being in the one you're stepping into now?

• 3:10Speaker 01

Hmm. The lady I'm stepping into now, I'm just grown.

• 3:14Keke Palmer?

  Yeah.

• 3:15Speaker 01

  I'm just grown. I'm Keisha.

• 3:17Keke Palmer?

  Yeah.

• 3:17Speaker 01

Just call me Keisha, that's who I am. You know what I'm saying? And like before, I was just more turned outside lit.

• 3:23Keke Palmer?

  Yeah.

• 3:23Speaker 01

You know what I'm saying? No responsibilities for real, because no kids and it's like, it's just two different people.

• 3:28Keke Palmer?

  Yeah.

• 3:29Speaker 01

You know, I look at things different. Everything is more intentional now. You know, once you have kids, everything is intentional.

• 3:33Keke Palmer?

  Yeah.

• 3:33Speaker 01

I ain't just doing things for no reason. The only thing I gotta work on is spending money.

• 3:39Keke Palmer?

That can become a bad habit, can't it? Get a little change in your pocket and just go up.

• 3:43Speaker 01

  I can go do something.

• 3:46Speaker 01

I seen this bag the other day, I'm gonna go get it.

• 3:48Keke Palmer?

Well, you came in here with a bag bag. You ain't wanna flex too hard on them and put it up there. But I was like, you could've gave us a little ambiance.

• 3:55Speaker 01

Can I get, can I put it right there now?

• 3:57Keke Palmer?

You can, put it right there.

• 3:58Speaker 01

Give it here, give it here.

• 3:58Keke Palmer?

  Because it's giving ambiance.

• 4:00Speaker 01

  Give it here.

• 4:01Keke Palmer?

She's very cute. She's very cute. She came in here definitely giving everything with the jewelry too.

• 4:09Speaker 01

You know what? I went out last night, I woke up late.

• 4:13Keke Palmer?

Now, wait a minute, what you do last night? Let's get into that. You say you was on set and you went out to celebrate? Or it just happened?

• 4:18Speaker 01

Okay, so I went to Women in Music Billboard.

• 4:20Keke Palmer?

  Oh, yes, of course.

• 4:20Speaker 01

I went there and then I went to go hang out with my little boo.

• 4:24Keke Palmer?

Oh, yes. So you and your boopin' all over online? And I've been living for the way he's been hyping, my girl love. Yes, how did y'all meet?

• 4:31Speaker 01

  To go.

• 4:32Keke Palmer?

Have you talked about this already?

• 4:33Speaker 01

  No, I have not.

• 4:34Keke Palmer?

Man, how you meet this man?

• 4:35Speaker 01

  Don't play with me.

• 4:37Keke Palmer?

I'm just living for you because I feel like you always on a good vibe.

• 4:41Speaker 01

Yeah, I'm always on a vibe.

• 4:41Keke Palmer?

I feel like I've never seen you, I'm sure you have life troubles.

• 4:44Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 4:44Keke Palmer?

But again, that is very Pisces energy. When y'all are just such boss diva down, like how do y'all always stay so cunt in the bag?

• 4:50Speaker 01

You know what? It's just like, man, I'm a real life pla- I'm a playa- I keep a P at all the time. I be chilling. You know what I'm saying? For the most part, I be chilling and it's like, I feel like that's when you start living, when you learn how to live when things is going on. And not letting it just affect you like that, you know? But I do have my moments and I, I get, I pick up.

• 5:08Keke Palmer?

  Yeah, yeah.

• 5:09Speaker 01

I just pick up and like, alright, whoo.

• 5:11Keke Palmer?

  Dust myself off.

• 5:11Speaker 01

  Yeah, and try again.

• 5:13Keke Palmer?

  Yeah, yeah.

• 5:13Speaker 01

You know what I'm saying? So, um, yeah, I just be, I don't be tripping. I don't live in stuff too long. I don't live in it too long. Cause what is that gonna do?

• 5:21Keke Palmer?

It doesn't help. I mean, you think about it enough to concentrate on, okay, what do I need to learn from it? But then I gotta shake, you know, I can't stay in the energy.

• 5:27Speaker 01

Cause you know, everything happens for a reason, especially when you're a good person. You know that, you know, it ain't no bad karma. You know what I'm saying? It's like, oh, I, this didn't happen to me because I did something bad. It's like, no, this happens to me for me to learn from it.

• 5:40Keke Palmer?

  Yeah.

• 5:40Speaker 01

Yeah, but it's not like, why is this? It's like, okay, so what's the reason behind it? You know?

• 5:45Keke Palmer?

  Mm-hmm.

• 5:45Speaker 01

  So.

• 5:46Keke Palmer?

How was it last night at the event? And all the, being there with all the folks? Sometimes industry events can be a bit much, but you had a good vibe, it was fun?

• 5:53Speaker 01

  It was cool.

• 5:53Keke Palmer?

  Yeah, it was cool.

• 5:54Speaker 01

It was cool, it was cool. I just, I was in and out, you know what I'm saying?

• 5:56Keke Palmer?

Did you see any people that you knew?

• 5:57Speaker 01

Yeah, I seen Glow get her award and, um, Money Long, she performed and I seen Tina Knowles.

• 6:05Keke Palmer?

Love Miss Tina. She feel like all our auntie.

• 6:07Speaker 01

I seen her on the camera, but I didn't get to meet her or nothing. But I seen her. Yeah, that is like our auntie.

• 6:12Keke Palmer?

  It is.

• 6:13Speaker 01

Um, yeah, I, it was a lot of people. I became a fan of this one lady named Megan. I think she's a country artist. And when she got her acceptance speech, when she went up there and did her speech, it was like she was so funny.

• 6:25Keke Palmer?

I think I know you talking about she light skinned the girl. Yeah, she's, she been talking about a lot of stuff too. I wanna talk to her cuz she was sharing a lot of stuff in her music. But I'm happy about the moment that she's getting her shine on with this country piece. Cuz a lot of times, you know, the black folks don't be getting that country shine. So I was glad to see that for her, for sure.

• 6:40Speaker 01

  Yeah, yeah.

• 6:41Keke Palmer?

Um, well, let's talk about clarity and what clarity she brought to your life. That's your daughter. You just had her last June. You know, I had a baby. We both got little ones.

• 6:48Speaker 01

Yeah, we got some little ones, yeah.

• 6:49Keke Palmer?

And it definitely changed me. I'm curious if, how much it changed you and if it was what you expected it to be.

• 6:55Speaker 01

You know what, um, okay, so my son, Cashden, gave me a whole new pair of eyes.

• 7:00Keke Palmer?

Oh, my gosh, yeah, cuz you have your, how old is your son?

• 7:02Speaker 01

  My son is three.

• 7:03Keke Palmer?

  Three?

• 7:04Speaker 01

Yep, he's three. Yep, cuz how old is Leo?

• 7:06Keke Palmer?

  Leo's two.

• 7:07Speaker 01

Okay, okay, yeah, cuz I know, I remember you were pregnant. I, I had him first and then I got pregnant again and had her. She's nine months.

• 7:13Keke Palmer?

  Boom, boom.

• 7:14Speaker 01

I got him out the way. I'm done. And it's a boy and a girl?

• 7:17Keke Palmer?

  I know that's right, girl.

• 7:18Speaker 01

  I'm.

• 7:19Keke Palmer?

I would love another one, but it's like when and who, you know? It'd just be like, damn, you know, but anyway.

• 7:25Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 7:26Keke Palmer?

So how has it changed you? Two under two? Well, three under four.

• 7:29Speaker 01

Uh, just trying to find this balance right now.

• 7:32Keke Palmer?

  Yeah.

• 7:32Speaker 01

Right now, I'm struggling with balance, you know? It's not easy. It's not easy. I, I have some things that I, I just have to prioritize things differently.

• 7:41Keke Palmer?

  Yeah.

• 7:42Speaker 01

I've been off a little bit, but, um, as far as clarity, she brought clarity. And that's why my situation that I was in, you know, with their dad, I couldn't do it no more.

• 7:52Keke Palmer?

  Yeah.

• 7:53Speaker 01

You know what I'm saying? Like, she had me, like, I'm not dealing with this with, just, I'm not, I'm not doing it.

• 7:58Keke Palmer?

And just dealing, what you mean with dealing with? Just dealing with the inconsistency, the up and down, the negative energies?

• 8:02Speaker 01

The negativity, the not treating me how I wanna be treated, the cheating, all that shit.

• 8:08Keke Palmer?

  Uh.

• 8:09Speaker 01

  Goodbye.

• 8:10Keke Palmer?

  Yeah.

• 8:10Speaker 01

  Goodbye.

• 8:11Keke Palmer?

  Yeah.

• 8:11Speaker 01

She not about to see that. She need to see me getting love correctly, you know what I'm saying?

• 8:16Keke Palmer?

Or loving me correctly without the drama.

• 8:18Speaker 01

  Exactly.

• 8:19Keke Palmer?

Cuz I'm gonna do bad all by myself. Why not do good?

• 8:20Speaker 01

And I said that, I said, listen, it is crazy cuz when you find yourself leaving a situation, you feel lighter. It's like, oh, I shouldn't have been there. Yeah, and you just, you'd be good, I'm cool by myself, I didn't have to.

• 8:35Keke Palmer?

And it creeps up, because it's like, I mean, we, we, we obviously was having fun on the way to this trip. But now that we at this destination, all of a sudden, I wanna go somewhere I know.

• 8:44Speaker 01

Yeah, and I'm going. First flight out, I'm bye, goodbye.

• 8:49Keke Palmer?

But I will say, you guys have seemed to be able to still be on good vibes and good terms.

• 8:55Speaker 01

I tried it, I tried it, but as you see, it's all over and he, he, he's fighting it. You know, um, like he'll admit to me that he was wrong and, you know, just accepting accountability for the things that you have done. Yeah, but then you get on their front and it's so crazy because it's like, that's part of the reason why we're not together. Because you, you couldn't put that pride to the side. And now you're still doing it, you know, and you try to act like it's nothing when you know it hurt. You know, instead of facing it and admitting your wrongs and taking accountability so that you could become a better person. You sit up here and still try to act like, I'm cool, I'm cool.

• 9:38Keke Palmer?

And it's okay if you're not cool.

• 9:40Speaker 01

Cause listen, one time I said, one time I said, yeah, this shit, it hurts.

• 9:45Keke Palmer?

  Yeah.

• 9:47Keke Palmer?

Don't nobody have no care with somebody and want things to end. Who does that? Nobody does that.

• 9:53Speaker 01

  Nobody do that, you know.

• 9:54Keke Palmer?

  So it hurts everybody.

• 9:56Speaker 01

Yeah, and for you to sit up there.

• 10:00Speaker 01

I'm just happy I made my decision. You know what I'm saying?

• 10:03Keke Palmer?

Yeah, I'm happy for you, and I mean, it's also crazy because I'm sure for you it wasn't that quick. But for me, it's like, man, not only did you wipe your hands, but you're open to new love. Which I think is sometimes hard for us, right? When we, we step out of something, sometimes you can just be.

• 10:18Speaker 01

You be kinda like, hold up, hold up, slow up.

• 10:20Keke Palmer?

Me and my kids, and that's that. Me and my babies, and that's that. You know what I mean?

• 10:25Speaker 01

  Don't play with me.

• 10:26Keke Palmer?

So you can go there and so, and just be fine as hell with nobody bothering you.

• 10:30Speaker 01

Just me and my kids. I was cool. You know what I'm saying? But the new vibe, I'm.

• 10:35Keke Palmer?

So how did this happen? How did this, were you, were you out? Was it a hop into your DMs?

• 10:42Speaker 01

Gone. I see you. I see exactly what you trying to do. She get her money.

• 10:49Keke Palmer?

I'm like, so what is the story?

• 10:54Keke Palmer?

Lightweight. Just, just give me, you know, just give me the spark notes.

• 10:58Speaker 01

  Yeah, we, we, we.

• 11:02Speaker 01

I see, you know, he was playing for the Lions.

• 11:04Keke Palmer?

  Period.

• 11:04Speaker 01

And I went back home after I left.

• 11:06Keke Palmer?

  Okay.

• 11:07Speaker 01

Yeah, and you know, we just kind of seeing each other.

• 11:11Keke Palmer?

But I'll be honest, I need to know this from you because Cash, you are very, very beautiful.

• 11:15Speaker 01

  Oh, thank you.

• 11:15Keke Palmer?

And you also have a huge energy where it's like a guy knows he's going to have to bow. What is it that gets your attention? What is it that lets like you say, okay, I'm actually listening to this dude?

• 11:25Speaker 01

I'mma tell you what got my attention with him. I'm in the, because you know, I'm back outside. You know, I just, I'm back outside. I'm with my girl Ja. You know, we chilling.

• 11:33Keke Palmer?

  What up, Ja?

• 11:34Speaker 01

Yeah, what's up, Ja? Uh, we chilling, we outside. I'm like, now I'm popping out, you know? So I'm in the club. You get on my nerves.

• 11:42Keke Palmer?

I'm so in it. I'm like, yes, I'm in the club with you and Ja.

• 11:45Speaker 01

Yes. We in there. You was not there.

• 11:50Speaker 01

  You was there.

• 11:50Keke Palmer?

  I was there.

• 11:51Speaker 01

Because remember, we were sitting on the couch.

• 11:53Keke Palmer?

  Period.

• 11:53Speaker 01

Um, so we sit, we sitting up there and he walked through like security and everything and just like introduced himself.

• 12:00Keke Palmer?

Come on, know how to step to me.

• 12:03Speaker 01

I said, oh, wow. Hi. Through security and everything, I said, that was sexy. You know how some guys, it just comes sliding your DM after they seen you or you know, tell somebody, you know, you kind of.

• 12:15Keke Palmer?

  They're scary.

• 12:15Speaker 01

Yeah. He was, he came over with that energy. I said, oh, wow. Hi.

• 12:24Keke Palmer?

Yes. And so he just probably kept that energy up. He kept that pressure because I'm telling you, I seen him in the comments.

• 12:31Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 12:31Keke Palmer?

He letting everybody know Cash is mine.

• 12:34Speaker 01

  I'm, I, I, look, I'm, hey. I ain't got no complaints. I'm good. I'm good.

• 12:40Keke Palmer?

I love that. I love that. Well, going back to just music and mom and some of these transitions, how have you approached your career differently now with all that?

• 12:48Speaker 01

  Um, you know what?

• 12:50Keke Palmer?

  Thought about the landscape differently?

• 12:51Speaker 01

Yeah, it's like even when you recording and, um...

• 12:56Speaker 01

You go and play what you wearing. It's like you, you know, your kids one day will see this stuff. You know, or they're gonna hear the music. You don't even wanna say some crazy stuff on tracks, like too crazy.

• 13:08Keke Palmer?

  Yeah.

• 13:08Speaker 01

You know what I'm saying? Yeah, cuz you like eventually, you know, they're, they're gonna hear it. And my son likes my music.

• 13:13Keke Palmer?

  Yeah.

• 13:13Speaker 01

  He like it, so.

• 13:14Keke Palmer?

But even before kids, I gotta tell you, stuff always like even if you was talking about something crazy, it had some consciousness to it.

• 13:20Speaker 01

Yeah, still had a little classy swag up in there, you know what I'm saying? But I just be like just trying to make sure that later on that you're not embarrassed.

• 13:27Keke Palmer?

  Sure, yeah.

• 13:28Speaker 01

  You know.

• 13:29Keke Palmer?

And it's something I can stand behind.

• 13:30Speaker 01

And I can stand on it.

• 13:31Keke Palmer?

Not like, oh, so you said you was eating ass, wait a minute, type shit.

• 13:36Keke Palmer?

Cuz how you gonna stand behind that? Well, baby, sometimes you eat a little ass. You can't say that.

• 13:43Speaker 01

I'm leaving. I'm leaving. Don't you start this, you know.

• 13:49Keke Palmer?

I feel you a hundred percent though.

• 13:51Speaker 01

Why would you say that though? Cuz people would say I was eating ass and it was like, we was, wait, hell, my.

• 13:54Keke Palmer?

Cuz you know, and then by the time your baby ask you, you don't know what to say.

• 13:57Speaker 01

You don't know what to say, like that was just a.

• 13:59Keke Palmer?

Cuz you got a mouth full of ass.

• 14:00Speaker 01

  Shit.

• 14:05Keke Palmer?

Girl, okay, you know what, you brought clarity.

• 14:08Speaker 01

I'm about to go. I can't, I'm not about to.

• 14:11Keke Palmer?

Now, you brought clarity out on stage.

• 14:13Speaker 01

They don't wanna try to get serious, but.

• 14:15Keke Palmer?

Now, you brought, now bringing it back home.

• 14:17Speaker 01

  Okay.

• 14:17Keke Palmer?

You brought clarity out on stage. I know you was telling me she's not here right now. Obviously, when you're traveling, I know, sometimes it's hard to bring the babies with you. So how do you deal with that mom guilt? Cuz you know, we all get it. Even when we there with the baby, we're like.

• 14:31Speaker 01

Yeah, you know what, sometimes I just be like, well, let me just at least get my sleep while I'm away.

• 14:37Keke Palmer?

  Yeah.

• 14:37Speaker 01

You know what I'm saying? Like, let me just get my sleep then, because when I get back home, I'm going to have to be a mom full of time.

• 14:44Keke Palmer?

  That's right.

• 14:44Speaker 01

So that makes me feel a little bit better cuz it's like at least I get to rest and get recharged to come back to them.

• 14:49Keke Palmer?

  Yeah.

• 14:50Speaker 01

Even though I'm working when I'm away from them, I still be, you know, that's what helps me. That's what gets me there. And um, and then it'd be like for them to live the life that I want them to live, they're gonna have to understand, mom, you gotta work.

• 15:01Keke Palmer?

And I think it's important, I tell myself that same thing too as well is like, okay, this is also me making sure that I'm good for them. But then it's like also the reality that they need to see us be independent. I want them to know that, you know, have a life. Yeah, have a life, be a person, be a full person, follow your dreams and.

• 15:17Speaker 01

Get up and you go to work. You gotta, you gotta see mommy, okay mommy, get on airplane, mommy go work.

• 15:22Keke Palmer?

  That's right.

• 15:23Speaker 01

You know, and this is what your life going to consist of too, if you want to have the nice things in life, you have to, you have to work and I'm, and I'm, I'm glad that they see that, but I still be missing my baby.

• 15:33Keke Palmer?

Yeah, no, I feel you a hundred percent.

• 15:34Speaker 01

  I be missing my baby.

• 15:35Keke Palmer?

But they be, I feel inside that they be proud of us, you know what I'm saying? To know that we, we got it.

• 15:39Speaker 01

Cause Kastian, oh, he runs backstage. Like when he's on tour with me, everybody know that's Kastian tour.

• 15:46Speaker 01

Shit tour. He, he go on the side and he watch me and if I call him out, he gonna come out and he gonna look at the crowd, he gonna smile. Yeah, like I love him. He's a star. My baby is a star. I love me some schnuckum and Clarity, Claire Bear, she's just bossy.

• 16:01Keke Palmer?

Is she, she, you said she nine months? How many? Nine months? So she ain't talking to none yet?

• 16:05Speaker 01

  No.

• 16:06Keke Palmer?

Yeah, but she giving you all.

• 16:07Speaker 01

But she giving you, she got an attitude problem. She.

• 16:11Keke Palmer?

I love when they're that age. Oh my gosh.

• 16:13Speaker 01

And that's what I'm be missing. I'm like, I don't wanna miss her.

• 16:18Speaker 01

But I can, mommy gotta work.

• 16:19Keke Palmer?

Mommy gotta work and you're doing it well. And you also founded a nonprofit recently, which is incredible. Congratulations. Called Fairy Boss Mother.

• 16:26Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 16:27Keke Palmer?

And it provides financial assistance, mentorship and essential resources for single mothers striving for success. So I mean, that's like, you better give back. How did you start that? What was your process?

• 16:37Speaker 01

You know what? I've been giving back for so long. I just never did it the right way.

• 16:41Keke Palmer?

Never necessarily in a complete structure.

• 16:43Speaker 01

  Exactly.

• 16:44Keke Palmer?

Which can be hard to put together.

• 16:45Speaker 01

Yeah, if you don't have the right team, you know, so once you get the right team and stuff, you know, people put everything how it, you know, how it need to be. So I always been giving back, sending girls off to prom, you know, giving like breast pumps out and diapers and things like that. So it was like, all right, let's do this for real, you know, cause then I, I learned you can get grants and, and actually you can, you can help more.

• 17:07Keke Palmer?

  Yes.

• 17:08Speaker 01

So I'm like, okay, I didn't know that, you know what I'm saying? So now knowing that it's like, I'm definitely about to take these to another level. Definitely.

• 17:16Keke Palmer?

I love that. I love that. And congratulations again on that.

• 17:19Speaker 01

  Thank you.

• 17:19Keke Palmer?

  You're welcome.

• 17:26Keke Palmer?

• 18:32Keke Palmer?

Now I want to go a little bit back to your origin story because you were talking on Club Shay Shay about how you worked a lot of retail jobs.

• 18:37Speaker 01

  I did.

• 18:38Keke Palmer?

So you did Best Buy. What other jobs you was in?

• 18:41Speaker 01

Better Made, Chip Factory, Little Caesars.

• 18:44Keke Palmer?

  Come on, Little Caesars.

• 18:45Speaker 01

Dots Clothing Store, Mr. Allen Shoe Store. Everything. I'm a hustler.

• 18:50Keke Palmer?

And so I was just about to ask, what do you think that you were doing, what skills you showed up as in those jobs that has helped you with your entrepreneurialism?

• 19:00Speaker 01

All of them, all the skills. All of them, because you know what? Like in retail, it was having great communication. The finesse, you know what I'm saying? To get people to buy things. And Little Caesars, it's like the timing. Of them hot and ready, baby. And even cutting.

• 19:17Keke Palmer?

Come on. Why was you on beat?

• 19:19Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 19:20Keke Palmer?

  That was perfect.

• 19:21Speaker 01

The timing, you know, even cutting the beat. I learned, look, I learned things that I didn't know in the kitchen. You know what I'm saying?

• 19:27Keke Palmer?

  Yeah.

• 19:28Speaker 01

But like the timing and things like that.

• 19:31Speaker 01

What else I can retail, I'll say.

• 19:33Keke Palmer?

But the timing in their people is very much dead on.

• 19:36Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 19:36Keke Palmer?

Cause there in, you gotta talk a lot in our industry. You gotta constantly sell yourself.

• 19:41Speaker 01

Yes, over and over and over and over again. Yeah, and then even too, like just when you work at the retail stores, you know, like, if I go in a retail store, I'ma go to the girl that got some swag.

• 19:51Keke Palmer?

  Yeah.

• 19:52Speaker 01

You know what I'm saying? You help me. You know what I'm looking for. I need a jacket, a black jacket. Point me to the cute ones. You know what I'm saying? So it was like even just showing up, looking good every day, you know? So, a lot of different things like that.

• 20:04Keke Palmer?

Yeah, now you also talking about hustling. You were stripper and you said you made twenty-six thousand dollars in one night. How did this happen?

• 20:12Speaker 01

  I was that girl.

• 20:13Keke Palmer?

  Like.

• 20:13Speaker 01

It's so, it's like I don't be wanting to sound all like arrogant, but I was just that girl. And it is what it is.

• 20:21Keke Palmer?

So how does that freaking happen? Is it because you have a good clientele? Like have you created a good clientele?

• 20:26Speaker 01

I wasn't even in it like that. Like it was never that. It was always just the finesse, you know, and I was really popular. So I was like the most popular dancer in Midwest, you know what I'm saying? And every time I had anything, it was like banging and, and everybody just came and showed up.

• 20:45Keke Palmer?

That's cra- how does that happen? Like is that a part, like is that social media? Is it influencing? Is it just like word of mouth? How do you become?

• 20:52Speaker 01

It was social media too, and it was like I always been popular in real life too. You know what I'm saying? Like at school and stuff. You know that. You one of them girls. Don't play like that. Don't play like.

• 21:04Keke Palmer?

But I know what you mean. It's just your personality.

• 21:07Speaker 01

If you do one more thing.

• 21:09Keke Palmer?

  One more thing.

• 21:12Speaker 01

  I'm leaving.

• 21:13Keke Palmer?

I know what you mean though, when it's like your person, it's the personality that you bring to the space. You know what I'm saying?

• 21:17Speaker 01

That's just all it is. It's the person, it's you, you know, and it's just in you. It ain't nothing I could really, it was just.

• 21:23Keke Palmer?

  Yes.

• 21:23Speaker 01

You know, and I was blessed, man. And I, I think that that even helped me how to be more confident. You know what I'm saying? You gotta have confidence for that, you know, like.

• 21:31Keke Palmer?

  You do.

• 21:31Speaker 01

Everybody can't just do that. That's a different type of confidence to have, you know? So that taught me confidence, um, cause that was another job.

• 21:38Keke Palmer?

  Yeah.

• 21:39Speaker 01

But girl, boo, I used to make.

• 21:42Keke Palmer?

And so what made you say, okay, now I gotta come up out of this, I done did this, I done did this, now I wanna step into music?

• 21:49Speaker 01

Cause I always wanted to do music. My dad did music too.

• 21:52Keke Palmer?

Okay, he was a rapper producer, all of it?

• 21:54Speaker 01

Yeah, all of it, yeah, mhm. So, I always wanted to do music, it was just in me, but I just never thought I would be Kash doll, you know what I'm like? I'm not about to be that girl, but I always, look what I did. But, I was like, you know what, I wanna do this, because I didn't like doing that no more, because people made it like dancing, they made it just like, you know, just negative.

• 22:16Keke Palmer?

Yeah, maybe you just felt like the energy got a little too-

• 22:18Speaker 01

Yeah, it got too negative, and it was like, people was trying to drag me, you know what comes with fame and money, you know?

• 22:25Keke Palmer?

Cause I'm not gonna be fighting you bitches in the club.

• 22:27Speaker 01

And, and that was happening, you know what I'm saying? And I'm like, it got so bad, I used to have to, I couldn't even change in the room with all the girls, I used to have to go to the owner's office and change.

• 22:36Keke Palmer?

  Oh, no, no, no.

• 22:36Speaker 01

You know, and it just got-

• 22:37Keke Palmer?

  That's giving Beauty and Black.

• 22:38Speaker 01

Yeah, yeah, definitely, definitely, yeah, definitely, it was those type of vibes, and it was just like, even like the backlash from like being popular on social media, and people saying things to my mom, and about me dancing, like I'm just a slut, cause it, it ain't that, you know what I'm saying? It ain't that, it's what you make it though, you know, some girls are sluts.

• 22:58Keke Palmer?

Sometimes, sometimes that's what your vibe is, but that don't mean that's me.

• 23:01Speaker 01

That's not me, you know, so I just didn't even want that a part of me anymore, like, it was like, ah, and plus, I wanted to do something that I really love, and I was like, you know what, I'm gonna try it. And I just put all my eggs in one basket, I just stopped one day, it was nothing, I just stopped. And that's a hell of a job to just stop, when you make eight thousand this day.

• 23:18Keke Palmer?

  Cause the money's so quick.

• 23:19Speaker 01

  Twenty-six this day.

• 23:20Keke Palmer?

  Yeah.

• 23:21Speaker 01

Seventy-five hundred this day. Thirteen thousand this day. And I just stopped.

• 23:26Keke Palmer?

And so, there had to be a moment in that stop, where things got crazy, cause obviously, we know with entertainment or with any business, you are investing, investing, investing, and if that is your only business, then you have nowhere else to get money from, so you're kind of like throwing, you're gambling on yourself, and you're waiting for that comeback. What was happening for you in that time, where you were putting all that money that you had been saving and collecting, into the music before you saw something back from it? Like, what was your approach, to immediately start doing shows?

• 23:56Speaker 01

It happened. It just happened, Kiki. I swear to God. I'd made a song and it was on the radio. It was in rotation. It was a remix to Tinashe, "Two On."

• 24:04Keke Palmer?

  Yes!

• 24:05Speaker 01

I did a remix to that in Detroit. And when I say I was in rotation on the radio, in the top eight at eight, now that I know how important that is, I'm like, I can't believe I did that. Not in the mix show. Her label was calling like, "Why they're not playing the original? What's going on in Michigan?" Okay, and I was getting booked because I was already popular. You know, so I started getting booked shows, even though it wasn't what I was making.

• 24:30Keke Palmer?

It was as if you already had a brand and then the music was just another product of that brand.

• 24:34Speaker 01

  Exactly.

• 24:35Keke Palmer?

  That's incredible.

• 24:36Speaker 01

Exactly. So then, I started doing shows, even though it was like $1,200 shows, you know. It was like, okay, it's something I could build off of. So, I mean, and of course, I had my moments where I did not have a lot of money, you know what I'm saying? But I was investing all my money I made from dancing into her and then also opened a beauty bar. A couple of them, Casa de Dow. So I opened a beauty bar, you know, where you can get your nails, hair, makeup, clothes, everything.

• 25:04Keke Palmer?

  Yes.

• 25:05Speaker 01

There in Columbia, Ohio. And, um, so I was just making money at those different areas and then, you know, I was just being me.

• 25:16Keke Palmer?

  Yes.

• 25:17Speaker 01

Letting God lead me and it just happened.

• 25:19Keke Palmer?

So I was first introduced to you with, you know, when you did the "Two U's." What's, please remind me of that song.

• 25:24Speaker 01

  For everybody.

• 25:24Keke Palmer?

For everybody. I could never be. You could never do. You could never win. That was so good. I remember when I saw that, I said, "Now, who is that girl?"

• 25:35Speaker 01

  That was your last time.

• 25:36Keke Palmer?

  Your time is up.

• 25:40Keke Palmer?

Girl, when I tell you, when I seen that, I said, "Now, she is that girl." Because I love the theater. I love the theatrics of all of that. So where were you at that time? From the time we're talking about you starting to kick everything off to when I've seen that video, what was the time that had come? What was that moment for you?

• 25:57Speaker 01

That was a big moment for me. That changed my life. But everybody changed my life. That song helped me get out of a contract I was stuck in because I was able to make the money. Like, that song changed my whole situation.

• 26:09Keke Palmer?

  Girl.

• 26:09Speaker 01

  That song... That song.

• 26:12Keke Palmer?

It was incre- how long did it take you to write that song? Because it was very much like a full storyline. It was like a week. The girls were two personalities and so was, and both of the person, it, it gets to the point with those girls where you were like, I don't know what you want on this.

• 26:25Speaker 01

  Right, right.

• 26:26Keke Palmer?

Cause I like what both of them saying.

• 26:27Speaker 01

Because at first it was just a side chick. Come on, I like what both of them saying.

• 26:31Keke Palmer?

You know, I like what both of them saying. I'm not a side chick, I'm not the wife.

• 26:34Speaker 01

Cause which one I wanna be today?

• 26:37Keke Palmer?

Both of the speeches were great. Let me tell you something, cause the side chick was like, I'm able to live my life.

• 26:43Speaker 01

  Okay, like if she was-

• 26:44Keke Palmer?

  I don't want the man that's forever.

• 26:45Speaker 01

  And she was so unbothered.

• 26:47Keke Palmer?

  Yes!

• 26:48Speaker 01

And it's like the older you get, you realize the side chick really kinda won. Because she don't have the broken heart.

• 26:55Keke Palmer?

Don't have a broken heart, don't have to just be with just him, got a bunch of options and getting whatever he throwing at her. Okay?

• 27:02Speaker 01

I said, well, as you get older, you realize, okay, she's really the girl.

• 27:09Keke Palmer?

  Girl, I love that.

• 27:10Speaker 01

  The wife pissed.

• 27:11Keke Palmer?

The wife was like, her speech was good too, but she was like, I'm holding it down, everything is on my name, everything is on my name.

• 27:16Speaker 01

And it's like, and at the end of the day, he's still gonna call me when you're done. Bye.

• 27:22Keke Palmer?

So for everybody hit, everybody gagged.

• 27:25Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 27:25Keke Palmer?

And then like how, what did, how did you transform that moment to maintain, obviously, the career that you have?

• 27:30Speaker 01

  Listen, God.

• 27:33Keke Palmer?

  That's always the right answer.

• 27:34Speaker 01

  God.

• 27:35Keke Palmer?

  Yeah.

• 27:35Speaker 01

Cause I, I didn't have a strategic plan. You know, of course I had a team, you know, of course the team is very important, of the people that's behind you, you know, helping you grow this thing, but, God.

• 27:47Keke Palmer?

  Yeah.

• 27:48Speaker 01

  I was just vibing.

• 27:49Keke Palmer?

  Yeah.

• 27:50Speaker 01

  Praying, keeping it pushing.

• 27:52Keke Palmer?

  Being present.

• 27:52Speaker 01

Being present and being myself, you know, like, it ain't, it's not, it's not hard. It's hard, of course, to work and, you know, put a lot of into it, but, it's, it's in you, it's in you.

• 28:05Keke Palmer?

Yeah, you gonna make it work.

• 28:07Speaker 01

You gonna make it work. It, it don't matter, like, I'm gonna get up every day and I'm gonna figure this shit out.

• 28:12Keke Palmer?

  That's right.

• 28:12Speaker 01

You know what I'm saying, so.

• 28:13Keke Palmer?

That's right. And I do feel like that's the Midwest. I mean, it ain't no shade, no tittie, nobody else, but like, straight up, you know, like,

• 28:20Speaker 01

  We got that hustle.

• 28:21Keke Palmer?

  We work hard.

• 28:22Speaker 01

  We got that hustle, man.

• 28:23Keke Palmer?

It's not gonna be a day that goes by where we not gonna make it happen.

• 28:25Speaker 01

Yeah, especially like when you gotta go and you see it.

• 28:29Keke Palmer?

  Yeah.

• 28:29Speaker 01

I can't unsee it. I'm gonna get it. I'm gonna get it. And it's gonna get got.

• 28:33Keke Palmer?

  Yeah.

• 28:34Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 28:34Keke Palmer?

That's right. Now, I gotta ask you because obviously rap, one of the biggest elements is beefs. Some people love them for the competition factor. I'm curious if you think women are judged the same way as guys when it comes to rap beefs? Like, do you feel like people are more sensitive about what females say to each other in a rap beef than they are with guys?

• 28:53Speaker 01

  I don't know. I don't ever give a fuck.

• 28:56Keke Palmer?

Like, meaning you don't give a fuck what nobody say?

• 28:58Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 28:59Keke Palmer?

In the rap beef, you feel like it all goes?

• 29:01Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 29:02Keke Palmer?

  Yeah.

• 29:03Speaker 01

  It's like, whatever.

• 29:04Keke Palmer?

  Yeah.

• 29:04Speaker 01

Like, whether people like it or not, like, the internet just got too, it's too many people that got too many opinions. It, it's like, and I, I realize, like, if, if it costs

• 29:17Speaker 01

to comment, a lot of them wouldn't be saying shit. So I'mma just act like that, like, y'all wouldn't even be saying shit if it, if it costs. So your opinion really don't matter. You know?

• 29:28Keke Palmer?

  Yeah.

• 29:28Speaker 01

  So fuck them.

• 29:29Keke Palmer?

  Yeah.

• 29:30Speaker 01

  Fuck them. Fuck them.

• 29:31Keke Palmer?

I like a little rap beef moment. I like when the girls get a chance to do it, but I hate when it feels like people aren't allowing it to be the sport.

• 29:38Speaker 01

  Right.

• 29:39Keke Palmer?

You know, like, let it be the sport. I mean, I do get the emotions involved and, you know, whatever you can feel good.

• 29:44Speaker 01

  Cause I'm gonna do me.

• 29:45Keke Palmer?

  You know what I mean?

• 29:46Speaker 01

You not from that way. I'm like, shit, what we gonna do?

• 29:48Keke Palmer?

  That's right.

• 29:49Speaker 01

  Let's do it.

• 29:50Keke Palmer?

That's fun. Okay, you talked about how it's important that the man in your life makes you feel soft, okay? I feel like this is like a reoccurring thing with you, like, you're a rapper, but you love R and B down, so I hear that.

• 29:59Speaker 01

  Love R and B, girl.

• 30:00Keke Palmer?

  Okay.

• 30:00Speaker 01

  That's what I listen to.

• 30:01Keke Palmer?

So tell me, how can a guy make you feel soft? What kind of guy is that? Is that a guy that is always opening doors, always?

• 30:09Speaker 01

Yeah, like, you gotta make me feel like...

• 30:16Speaker 01

You gotta just make me feel girly.

• 30:18Keke Palmer?

This voice is everything, cause the voice has changed.

• 30:23Keke Palmer?

  Yeah.

• 30:25Speaker 01

  So.

• 30:25Keke Palmer?

  Yes.

• 30:26Speaker 01

See something else, but I'm leaving.

• 30:29Keke Palmer?

No, cuz now you have to stay forever.

• 30:32Speaker 01

  Okay, okay.

• 30:32Keke Palmer?

I feel like the chemistry with us is just too electric.

• 30:35Speaker 01

  Nah, nah.

• 30:37Speaker 01

  Okay, we at the mall.

• 30:38Keke Palmer?

  We at the mall.

• 30:40Speaker 01

So I just feel like just being a man, like doing the things that men do. And I feel like it's natural for you to just feel like girly, like, okay, you opening up the door and, you know, you hand for the tab and.

• 30:55Keke Palmer?

And I also feel like that when a guy makes me feel soft is when they let me have it. Let me have it.

• 31:00Speaker 01

  Just let me have it.

• 31:00Keke Palmer?

  Let me have it.

• 31:01Speaker 01

Let me have it. You know what?

• 31:02Keke Palmer?

  You know, let me be.

• 31:03Speaker 01

Just let me have my ways. Just give it to me. It's not hard. Like, why are we, who the princess?

• 31:08Keke Palmer?

Yes. I need to be her.

• 31:10Speaker 01

Cuz I out princess. You, ain't nobody about to out princess me. You wanna, oh, you wanna take it there? You wanna rumble with the?

• 31:16Keke Palmer?

I will literally faint in this.

• 31:17Speaker 01

Yeah. You wanna take it there?

• 31:19Keke Palmer?

  Like, seriously.

• 31:20Speaker 01

  Come get me.

• 31:20Keke Palmer?

I feel like a lot of times, like, I don't know what that is right now, but a lot of times we're like.

• 31:25Speaker 01

  Battling.

• 31:26Keke Palmer?

  Battling for the princess role.

• 31:28Speaker 01

And it's crazy. So when you get a real.

• 31:31Keke Palmer?

Like, you could be whatever you want. I'm not saying that you gotta be less sweet or feminine or whatever. Like, it, that, I don't care about that. I'm just saying, like, let me have it sometimes.

• 31:40Speaker 01

  All the time.

• 31:41Keke Palmer?

And that's really the truth. I don't know what's going on out here, but that's how you get a, a girl nice and relaxed.

• 31:46Speaker 01

Yes, how you get them relaxed and calm. Listen.

• 31:49Keke Palmer?

Let me have it, cuz the world don't.

• 31:50Speaker 01

Like, if I get mad at you, just, just, just, don't act nonchalant. Shalot me.

• 31:55Keke Palmer?

  Shalot.

• 31:55Speaker 01

  Shalot me.

• 31:56Keke Palmer?

Get shalot as shalot can be.

• 31:58Speaker 01

You better shalot me. You better shalot me.

• 32:03Keke Palmer?

Girl, when I realize, I'm like, oh, yeah, not, instead of nonchalant, get shalot.

• 32:07Speaker 01

  Yeah, no, shalot me.

• 32:08Keke Palmer?

These guys, these brothers gotta get shalot.

• 32:10Speaker 01

No, you gotta get up. Yeah, because it's like, now I'm knowing you care. I could be soft with you because you care. I don't have to have my guards up and, and, and, and get masculine with you cuz you think.

• 32:21Keke Palmer?

And you think it's just the pride thing, like the guy, like it's like.

• 32:24Speaker 01

Oh, it's too much pride out here.

• 32:25Keke Palmer?

  It's a lot of pride.

• 32:25Speaker 01

It's a lot of pride out here. I, I think a lot of men just wasn't raised by their dads these days.

• 32:33Speaker 01

You know? Shalot me. That's our new word.

• 32:36Keke Palmer?

I'm, I'm, will I tell you that I'm loving that?

• 32:38Speaker 01

  Shalot.

• 32:39Keke Palmer?

  Me.

• 32:40Speaker 01

  Shalot me, babe.

• 32:41Keke Palmer?

Shalot me, babe. That's a new song that I knew from you.

• 32:43Speaker 01

  Yeah, shalot me.

• 32:45Keke Palmer?

Shalot me, baby. Shalot me, baby.

• 32:48Speaker 01

And I'm a company, you better shalot cuz.

• 32:52Keke Palmer?

Yeah, the big click. She said, "You better shalotin." Yes!

• 32:58Speaker 01

I ain't gon' front, you know?

• 33:02Keke Palmer?

  Girl, I'm obsessed with us.

• 33:04Speaker 01

  Weird joke.

• 33:05Keke Palmer?

  Weird?

• 33:06Speaker 01

  I'm leaving.

• 33:06Keke Palmer?

No, I can't deal with that.

• 33:08Speaker 01

It's too good, it's too good.

• 33:11Keke Palmer?

Now, you also said on Club Che Che, which I live for, because I live by this, that once you get with a man who feeds you and he brings all the food to the table, you give him the power, he gon' starve you. Always make your own money. So how do we balance that, give me that soft life, but also like, I also don't want to be controlled, or, you know? How do we balance not giving somebody all the keys? But also saying, "I'm open to you."

• 33:33Speaker 01

Mm-hmm. It's that we can't really talk about it.

• 33:37Keke Palmer?

  I know, that's right.

• 33:38Speaker 01

You see what I'm saying? It's like them the conversations you have with your girls, because you can't even just say that. Because it's just something that you can't even say. You just gotta do it, you gotta just feel.

• 33:49Keke Palmer?

And this is why you're cash, because a lot of people come over here on these podcasts and give all the secrets out.

• 33:53Speaker 01

You know what, because it's like, because you already soft and you give them that, but it's like you just also have to just make your own money, and some men like the independence. It's the independence. You know, but it's like something that you just can't say it. You know, like some stuff you can't even say to your man. You can't say that, you just gotta just know.

• 34:12Keke Palmer?

And my mama, she been married for over thirty years, and she said, "Stop saying everything." She used to say that to me all the time, I'm like, "What do you mean?" She said, "Stop saying everything."

• 34:20Speaker 01

Just gotta know, you know? You know what I'm saying? It's true, you feel me, it's true.

• 34:34Keke Palmer?

Now, obviously, you been getting into this acting bag.

• 34:36Speaker 01

Yeah, I'm on my Keke Palmer, girl.

• 34:38Keke Palmer?

  All day.

• 34:38Speaker 01

What's up? Because, listen, you a vet.

• 34:41Keke Palmer?

  Stop!

• 34:41Speaker 01

  Baby, you a lead.

• 34:43Keke Palmer?

I would love to do something with you. We're gonna put that into the atmosphere.

• 34:46Speaker 01

I can't wait, and you know what? I've been meaning to go see that, um, with your sister. Yes, I've been wanting to go see that. The last time I was about to see it, my boo was like, "That's a chick flick, y'all, you gotta go with your friends with that."

• 34:56Keke Palmer?

And now I'm mad at you, Mr. Man. Because it's good for you too.

• 35:00Speaker 01

  Yeah, okay.

• 35:00Keke Palmer?

Period. Now, you said something that I was-

• 35:02Speaker 01

  Mr. Man.

• 35:03Keke Palmer?

Mr. Man. He know who I'm talking to. I wanted to talk to you about, you said you'd want to play a drug addict. And I thought that was interesting, because that's a very intense kind of role. What drew you to wanting to do that kind of role?

• 35:14Speaker 01

Have you ever did that before?

• 35:15Keke Palmer?

I've ever played a drug addict? No, I played a pimp once. And I was a cold pimp.

• 35:21Speaker 01

  What movie?

• 35:22Keke Palmer?

Pimp. That's what it was called.

• 35:24Speaker 01

  Really?

• 35:24Keke Palmer?

I was a pimp named Wednesday.

• 35:25Speaker 01

  You did your big one?

• 35:26Keke Palmer?

My daddy was DMX. And I was out here slanging this.

• 35:29Speaker 01

  Wednesday, he was doing y'all.

• 35:33Keke Palmer?

Girl, you gotta check it out.

• 35:35Speaker 01

  I gotta check it out.

• 35:36Keke Palmer?

Her name was Wednesday, her mama, Aunt Janu Ellis played my mom.

• 35:40Speaker 01

  Okay.

• 35:40Keke Palmer?

DMX was my dad. I had a beautiful little girlfriend.

• 35:43Speaker 01

  Okay, okay. Okay.

• 35:48Keke Palmer?

  I love doing that movie.

• 35:50Speaker 01

  Yes, okay.

• 35:51Keke Palmer?

It was probably one of the most transformative roles I've done.

• 35:54Speaker 01

And that's what made me say I wanted to do a crackhead.

• 35:57Keke Palmer?

  Yeah.

• 35:57Speaker 01

  A drug addict.

• 36:00Speaker 01

Because, no, for real, because it's just so, it's a big transition. And I just wanted to see if I could do it, you know, I wanted, and I know I can't.

• 36:09Keke Palmer?

And bringing nuance to that kind of character because I think often.

• 36:11Speaker 01

  It's just off range.

• 36:12Keke Palmer?

Drug addicts are often just deemed as boom, you don't talk about the fact that they're dealing with mental health and stuff. There's so much more that brings someone to an addiction that would be a great story to play somebody like that.

• 36:22Speaker 01

  Exactly.

• 36:23Keke Palmer?

  Yeah.

• 36:23Speaker 01

Exactly. Because then it's like, okay, so this is what caused them to be an addict. You know what I'm saying? This is why they keep going to the drugs. This is why, you know, like.

• 36:34Keke Palmer?

There's more story there. There's always a story to someone that is dealing with addiction.

• 36:38Speaker 01

Yeah, and you understand them different.

• 36:40Keke Palmer?

Said or mentioned. They're just thrown off, especially when you think about the crack epidemic and the crack era. They got branded as, oh, just a crackhead, just a this and that. But it's like, no, no, no, these were people.

• 36:49Speaker 01

  These are people.

• 36:50Keke Palmer?

That were dealing with, a lot of times they was putting them people in jail. They deserved to go into an actual system to actually teach them about what was happening with them.

• 36:56Speaker 01

  See what I'm saying?

• 36:57Keke Palmer?

  They didn't do that.

• 36:57Speaker 01

And like even you think about that like with crackheads and with drug addicts, think about bums. How did they actually get to that point? You just say, oh, it's a bum.

• 37:05Keke Palmer?

  Dion House.

• 37:06Speaker 01

But, but think about it. To be in a bum and live on a street. Mentally, where, where did that, where, you know, it's a story behind that.

• 37:15Keke Palmer?

Me and my girl were talking about the other day where we're thinking about people that are unhoused, that choose to be unhoused, or have they found themselves to be unhoused? And how a lot of times, it's like, people be thinking they're crazy, but then it's like, we paying for land that's supposed to be free, so are they crazy? Or are we crazy?

• 37:31Speaker 01

  Are we crazy?

• 37:32Keke Palmer?

You know what I mean? And then at that point, you gotta just take a minute.

• 37:34Speaker 01

And just say, you know what?

• 37:35Keke Palmer?

That's when you get too deep into zeitgeist.

• 37:36Speaker 01

Yeah, and then you gotta just go, go keep going. And that's why sometimes, you just gotta keep living, like, you know what? Cause then you again, you be thinking about things too hard, and I, and I find myself doing that. Like, when I watch the news and stuff, I be like, I can't, no. Cause some things really just get so deep. And you be so.

• 37:51Keke Palmer?

And then you realize, damn, we're just trapped in the matrix. Let me just go back to plan.

• 37:55Speaker 01

Yeah, and I'ma just go ahead and just live it. God, I love you, thank you, keep leading me, and I'ma just keep living.

• 38:02Keke Palmer?

  Literally.

• 38:03Speaker 01

  Yeah, like, that's it, yeah.

• 38:05Keke Palmer?

Now, you, we already talked about, obviously, you and your, um, child's father, Tracy T., y'all broke up and everything. But something that you said that I loved is that, you know, it's important to maintain respect for your ex, because it reflects on you. And I think that's such a powerful perspective that a lot of times, we don't hold when we walk away from a relationship. Like, if I say you crazy, then what was I?

• 38:24Speaker 01

It's still a reflection, and that's why I never tried to dog the situation.

• 38:29Keke Palmer?

  Yeah.

• 38:29Speaker 01

  As I could have.

• 38:31Keke Palmer?

  Yeah.

• 38:31Speaker 01

Because I dealt with you, and now the world see what I was dealing with, because you don't know how to keep your P. And all the things I complained about the whole time, now everybody could just see it. You could just see it. You know, and that's just what's sad about that situation, but I still got respect, because at the end of the day, those are my kids' fault. That, I got two kids. You know, so, hey.

• 38:57Keke Palmer?

And I see y'all had them matching captions. What is it? He did that video, and then you put that caption. What was the caption?

• 39:03Speaker 01

  I forgot.

• 39:04Keke Palmer?

I was like, okay, so it's cool. I mean, I always wanted to be cool, so when I saw that, that made me happy, because I feel like it's cool. Even though it's crazy, it's cool.

• 39:13Speaker 01

And that's, you know, and that's just the process of the breakups and the, you know how that go, man? And we are, we're still human, and, um, we still have feelings.

• 39:24Keke Palmer?

  Yeah.

• 39:25Speaker 01

You know, like, so, it be like, I be trying to keep it. As much as I can. Cause at the end of the day, I'm still human, you know what I'm saying? But I don't, I just, I just wish him the best, man. I hope he get it together so he can be rife.

• 39:40Keke Palmer?

Yeah, yeah. So, you're the oldest of five siblings. You're the oldest.

• 39:45Speaker 01

  I'm the oldest of six.

• 39:46Keke Palmer?

Six? I'm the middle child. But I gotta ask, how was it like growing up as the older sibling? You had to take care of your siblings a lot?

• 39:55Speaker 01

I'm like the second mom. So that's why I get a lot of that nurturing from, because my mom was always at work. My dad passed on my first birthday. So, I was at home, I had to get my sisters ready for school, cook, make sure everybody, if one person come home without the group, we all would get in trouble. So I just had to wait at the corner for everybody to come out. And, okay, we all walk home together, make sure everybody eat, take their uniform off when they get in. It was like I was the second mom, until my mom came home.

• 40:25Keke Palmer?

Yeah, I remember you talking about, I don't know what interview, but talking about how you felt like, even though you didn't have your dad in your life, you don't know how much different you would be had you had him.

• 40:36Keke Palmer?

But I'm curious if you feel like that made you more on your toes. The reason why I ask, cause I feel like sometimes with being raised by my dad, and my dad's great, my, my uncles are great. But I didn't really have, I think, a full view of how men could be because of how they treated me. They were so, I don't wanna say coddling, but I definitely didn't get that always in the real world. So I'm wondering if not having your dad kinda prepared you for what could come? That make sense?

• 41:01Speaker 01

I never thought about it like that, you know, and I, and I don't know, cause I just didn't have him. So it's like, all I know is, you know, I know that he was spiritually with me. You know, and I know that he protect me spiritually. It was a lot of things that happened to me, and I'd be like, how the hell did I come up out of that? Um, I used to do some crazy things, and I used to be like, that was my dad, you know? So, I just look at it like that and I didn't have nobody to baby me, you know, as a little girl that spoiled. So it's like, you know, I had to hustle. Get what I want. I didn't have daddy. I want a new car.

• 41:38Keke Palmer?

  Yeah.

• 41:38Speaker 01

No, I had to get my first car. You know what I'm saying?

• 41:41Keke Palmer?

But I'm sure that's what's made you who you are. I mean, nobody wants to say that loss made them who they are. No one wants that, you know what I mean? But I feel things happen in mysterious ways.

• 41:49Speaker 01

Yeah, and I think so too, because it's like him, him being with me spiritually got me in some places, you know, and it protect me from a lot of things too, so I think it was, it was meant.

• 42:03Keke Palmer?

  Yeah.

• 42:03Speaker 01

It sucked to say that, but.

• 42:05Keke Palmer?

  Yeah.

• 42:05Speaker 01

  It is what it is.

• 42:06Keke Palmer?

  It is what it is.

• 42:07Speaker 01

It is what it is, yeah.

• 42:08Keke Palmer?

You rose to prominence along with a lot of amazing female rappers, a big wave of them. And you talked about how you feel like, you know, you're a part of making history with these female rappers, which I would agree. What do you think your role was in this wave?

• 42:23Speaker 01

I'd say just that Midwest. Yeah, just that Midwest swag, that D-girl swag, that hair, them trends, the setting them trends, setting that makeup trend, the swag, but this, this.

• 42:37Keke Palmer?

  Very player.

• 42:38Speaker 01

  I'm a, I'm a real life player. I be chilling.

• 42:40Keke Palmer?

  Yeah, for sure.

• 42:41Speaker 01

You know, and I keep it like that, and that's just who I am. So I feel like I give them, them vibes, you know, that's the role I played, like that girl.

• 42:47Keke Palmer?

Yeah, that, very much that girl.

• 42:49Speaker 01

  That girl.

• 42:50Keke Palmer?

What would you, I know it's hard because you're still creating your legacy, but what would you want your legacy to mean? Whether or not even just in rap, but in general as an entertainer?

• 42:59Speaker 01

Just, you know what, I ain't there yet.

• 43:02Keke Palmer?

  Yeah.

• 43:02Speaker 01

  I ain't there yet. I, I just wanna, I wanna keep on.

• 43:06Keke Palmer?

  Yeah.

• 43:06Speaker 01

Yeah. I'm gonna answer that later.

• 43:09Keke Palmer?

Well, Cash, I love you keeping on.

• 43:11Speaker 01

  I love you.

• 43:11Keke Palmer?

And I'm so happy that you came to the mall with me.

• 43:13Speaker 01

Yeah, we went to the mall, girl. We went to go get our nails done. We got some Chipotle. We about to go, listen, we had a good time.

• 43:20Keke Palmer?

But before I let you go.

• 43:22Speaker 01

  Uh-oh.

• 43:23Keke Palmer?

I have to play a game with you because I play a game with all my guests, okay? And this one is called Cash In or Cash Out. Okay, I'm gonna give you some possible cash commandments.

• 43:31Speaker 01

  Okay.

• 43:31Keke Palmer?

Based on your song, and if you agree with the commandment, say cash in, and if you don't, say cash out.

• 43:37Speaker 01

  Okay, okay.

• 43:38Keke Palmer?

Okay, here we go. Always negotiate your bag, never accept the first offer. Cash in or cash out?

• 43:44Speaker 01

  Cash in.

• 43:44Keke Palmer?

Here you go. Going fifty-fifty on the first day, cash in or cash out?

• 43:48Speaker 01

Cash out. Cash the fuck out.

• 43:51Keke Palmer?

Love conquers all, even if he's broke. Cash in or cash out?

• 43:59Speaker 01

  Next question.

• 44:01Keke Palmer?

If your friend needs money, always help if you can. Cash in or cash out?

• 44:07Speaker 01

  Cash out.

• 44:08Keke Palmer?

Woo! She don't play about her damn coin.

• 44:11Speaker 01

I mean, if they need money, like, for what? Like, if they need money and they in a bond, I'm gonna look out. But, like, just need money, just so, so you, no.

• 44:19Keke Palmer?

That's fair. You need to know what you're giving.

• 44:21Speaker 01

I need to know, so that's cash in and cash out. Like, what is the money for?

• 44:25Keke Palmer?

Yeah, yeah. I'm, I'm fine with that.

• 44:26Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 44:27Keke Palmer?

Let some shit slide, even when it's disrespectful. Cash in or cash?

• 44:32Speaker 01

Cause you slide, you know, when you slide, they cha-cha. And now you slide to the left. Take it back now, y'all.

• 44:40Keke Palmer?

You can't be a boss if you sleep past noon. Cash in or cash out?

• 44:45Speaker 01

Cash in. You can sleep past noon.

• 44:47Keke Palmer?

Come on, that's what I'm saying. Like, I got, I was at work all night.

• 44:49Speaker 01

Right, like, let me sleep. Cause my job twenty-four seven.

• 44:52Keke Palmer?

  Guess what I'm saying?

• 44:53Speaker 01

Yeah, like, let me, aw, cash in.

• 44:55Keke Palmer?

Period. If a man wants you, he needs to apply pressure. Cash in or cash out?

• 45:00Speaker 01

  Cash the fuck in.

• 45:01Keke Palmer?

I need you to shalot me.

• 45:03Speaker 01

  Show me shalot it.

• 45:05Keke Palmer?

  Fast.

• 45:06Speaker 01

  You better shalot me.

• 45:08Keke Palmer?

Yes! Yes! If your friend got beef, you got beef too. Cash in or cash out?

• 45:16Speaker 01

  Cash in.

• 45:16Keke Palmer?

  Okay!

• 45:17Speaker 01

Cash in, I'm going, I'm riding by mine. Who we, who we beefing with? What she say?

• 45:21Keke Palmer?

  I hate her.

• 45:22Speaker 01

Okay, I hate her. Because you know what? You know your friend. And you know your friend is a good person, so if she beefing with you, you did something.

• 45:28Keke Palmer?

My best friend, the moment that someone does something weird to her or give weird energy, I immediately done with them.

• 45:34Speaker 01

  Yeah, I'm done.

• 45:35Keke Palmer?

She may even have a delayed reaction. I said, I knew they weren't shit there.

• 45:38Speaker 01

  I'm done.

• 45:39Keke Palmer?

When they looked at you crazy.

• 45:40Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 45:40Keke Palmer?

  That's when they were done.

• 45:41Speaker 01

  Yeah, mhm.

• 45:42Keke Palmer?

  Okay, last one.

• 45:43Speaker 01

  Okay, best friend.

• 45:43Keke Palmer?

Never let, yeah, I don't play about her. Never let them see you sweat. Stay unbothered at all times. Cash in or cash out?

• 45:50Speaker 01

  Cash in.

• 45:51Keke Palmer?

Period, cause we ain't never seen my girl sweat.

• 45:53Speaker 01

I ain't doing none of that.

• 45:55Keke Palmer?

That was the line. I ain't doing none of that.

• 45:58Speaker 01

  Okay.

• 46:00Keke Palmer?

  You're amazing.

• 46:01Speaker 01

Thank you. No, you are amazing. I had a good time.

• 46:04Keke Palmer?

  I had a fucking vibe.

• 46:05Speaker 01

You play too much, too. Had me up here talking about all my business.

• 46:08Keke Palmer?

  We was kicking our feet.

• 46:11Keke Palmer?

You are too, mom. I just love you, mom.

• 46:21Keke Palmer?

You guys already know what time it is. Welcome to my new favorite part of the show. We're calling it Palmer Knows Best. And it's a space where we keep it real. We keep it fun and we keep it a little messy, but in a good way. Now, listen, when it comes to life's biggest questions, money, love, friendships, and all that drama in between, who better to ask than a woman who's seen it all, lived it all, and sure ain't afraid to tell it all? Hey Sharon.

• 46:44Speaker 02

  Hello, how are you?

• 46:46Keke Palmer?

I'm good. I'm excited to ask you about these questions this week.

• 46:49Speaker 02

  Alright, bring them on.

• 46:51Keke Palmer?

  Okay, here we go.

• 46:54Keke Palmer?

"One of my coworkers seems to have a crush on me, but she's never actually said anything. She invites me to dinner, hangs around my desk, and apparently got jealous when I brought my friend, who happens to be an ex, to a group dinner. Her whole team is convinced she's into me. They've even pulled me aside to tell me I need to sort the situation out. Here's the thing, I have a strict no dating coworkers policy, but I also value our friendship. Some say I should explicitly reject her. Others say I should ghost her outside of work hours. Both options seem pretty awkward since she's never actually confessed any feelings. How do I handle this without making the office weird? Help." Well, if she's never expressed any feelings, what do you think?

• 47:39Speaker 02

  Okay, is this a man?

• 47:40Keke Palmer?

  Yeah, this is a man.

• 47:41Speaker 02

So this is a man? Oh wow. I guess, sounds like she waiting on him. I mean, you know, maybe she's old fashioned and she's just, she's doing everything she can to send him the signals that she's waiting on him to ask her out.

• 47:58Keke Palmer?

  But he's not going to.

• 48:00Speaker 02

  Why isn't he going?

• 48:01Keke Palmer?

Because he doesn't believe in dating coworkers.

• 48:03Speaker 02

Oh, well, she should have had luck then. I mean...

• 48:08Speaker 02

I mean, you know, to me, it just depends on what their job is. Like, if they're working in an office building, you know, in an office building, in an office space like the social social security office or something like that, I wouldn't date in those circumstances. But if they're in the entertainment field, yeah, I mean.

• 48:25Keke Palmer?

Either way, he don't want to date nobody he works with. And I think, obviously, he also doesn't like her.

• 48:30Speaker 02

  That's what I'm saying.

• 48:32Keke Palmer?

You know what I'm saying? He don't need to say he don't like her. He can hide behind the whole dating policy if he wants, gag.

• 48:38Speaker 02

  Right.

• 48:39Keke Palmer?

Either way, he doesn't like her because if somebody really likes you, they're damn near quits a job to date you. You know what I'm saying? If that was really that deep. So I feel like the real truth is he doesn't like her. And I don't love when people don't like somebody and they don't tell them they don't like them when they know they don't like them. Now, there's a way you go about it.

• 48:59Speaker 02

  People do that.

• 49:00Keke Palmer?

  Because they like the attention.

• 49:02Speaker 02

I did that to a guy.

• 49:05Speaker 02

I did that to a guy and I often thought about, why did I do that? Because I needed a ride. And he had a car. And so I wanted that ride.

• 49:16Keke Palmer?

  That's messed up, Sharon.

• 49:17Speaker 02

  I got that ride, though.

• 49:24Speaker 02

And I knew he liked me, but I needed the ride. So I didn't have to do anything for the ride. So he was safe, so there you go. Yeah. So.

• 49:40Keke Palmer?

So dang, so what do you think?

• 49:42Speaker 02

I think it's what you said, he don't really like her that much, because if he did.

• 49:46Keke Palmer?

He should tell her. My thoughts is, I don't know that you should tell her.

• 49:49Speaker 02

  He can tell her.

• 49:50Keke Palmer?

  Because she hasn't said it.

• 49:51Speaker 02

Because she hasn't said anything, and that's.

• 49:53Keke Palmer?

You know what he should tell her? That he should find a way to have a conversation where he could say, I don't date people at work.

• 49:59Speaker 02

  Yeah.

• 50:00Keke Palmer?

And that'll give it a message.

• 50:01Speaker 02

  Yeah, or.

• 50:02Keke Palmer?

All of a sudden, she quits her job.

• 50:02Speaker 02

Or show up with a woman he does like.

• 50:05Keke Palmer?

  Well, he did.

• 50:06Speaker 02

But it was his ex, right? Yeah.

• 50:09Keke Palmer?

Obviously still something going on with you two. Who hangs out with their ex that they're not still sleeping with?

• 50:13Speaker 02

Yeah, he should just, oh, he can tell another person at the job.

• 50:17Keke Palmer?

  To tell her?

• 50:18Speaker 02

Yeah, she's nice, but I'm not into her, you know? Or I'm not feeling her, but you know, it sounds like though, he, he want a ride though. It's probably something she doing at that job.

• 50:28Keke Palmer?

She talking him up, she encouraging his work. Todd did great this week.

• 50:32Speaker 02

  Exactly.

• 50:33Keke Palmer?

  Stuff like that.

• 50:33Speaker 02

  So he wants the ride.

• 50:34Keke Palmer?

  He wants the benefit.

• 50:35Speaker 02

Just like I got, yeah. That's right.

• 50:37Keke Palmer?

Yeah, he should tell her. Okay. I'm having major anxiety about my boyfriend's family situation, ugh.

• 50:44Speaker 02

  I told you.

• 50:45Keke Palmer?

  That is too much.

• 50:46Speaker 02

  Their families is crazy.

• 50:47Keke Palmer?

We've been together for two years, but every time I visit his house, I'm like, I'm about to jump out of my skin. Last Thanksgiving, I literally threw up on the car ride home. That's how bad my nerves get. He lives with his family, who are super formal and traditional, while my family is more, let's say, eccentric. He keeps pushing me to spend more time at his place and even sleep over, but the thought of staying in his parents' house makes me want to crawl under a rock. He's getting frustrated that I keep avoiding visits, but he doesn't seem to understand that this isn't just me being difficult. I'm having full-on anxiety attacks. So I just suck it up to make him happy? Or is there a way to make him understand how much this affects me? I mean, you threw up on the way home, who knows?

• 51:26Speaker 02

I'm gonna tell you right now, because I hear this all the damn time.

• 51:29Keke Palmer?

  Yeah.

• 51:30Speaker 02

And the reality of it is, he sought that woman out for a reason. He don't want all that formal shit either. He don't.

• 51:38Keke Palmer?

And he, but he wants her to be going through the drama of it with him, because he doesn't want to be in it alone.

• 51:44Speaker 02

  Exactly.

• 51:45Keke Palmer?

So he's putting her through it, so he has a friend there.

• 51:47Speaker 02

That's it, but I don't, this is what, I guess something is wrong with me. I don't understand why all you young people are dating, and you feel like you gotta, uh, have this relationship with each other's parents. Who the fuck cares? I mean, really, you're not dating their parents. And for them to try to make you like their mother or make their father, that's just ridiculous to me.

• 52:11Keke Palmer?

  Yeah.

• 52:12Speaker 02

It really is, you, you guys gotta make a life on your own.

• 52:15Keke Palmer?

  Yeah.

• 52:15Speaker 02

You gotta get along and learn how to communicate and respect each other on your own. What does it matter what his big mouth mama got to say? You know what I mean? That's just crazy. What does it matter? And I do think this is a boy-girl thing. I do. I think women have a much easier time of telling our parents.

• 52:36Keke Palmer?

Well, because I think in the patriarchy, under the concept of whatever friggin' social constructs there are, women are taught that one day you'll leave the home and you'll go and you'll make it.

• 52:46Speaker 02

  Make your own family.

• 52:47Keke Palmer?

Yeah, but guys is kinda like, no, no, no, you always stay. Like, they want, they feel, it becomes this thing. You know what I mean? Where it becomes this difficulty to step out and really say, hey, I've got my own wife and kids and a family of my own. Like, I don't know. It's a weird, different dynamic there that can sometimes be hard to transition out of.

• 53:06Speaker 02

Yeah, it's harder for men to walk away. And this is the thing. Nobody's telling anyone to leave your family. No, nobody, I would never tell anybody I was dating or even back in the day when I was dating, um, I don't like your family, leave your family. I would never say that to anyone. I would just say, I don't wanna be around your family.

• 53:27Keke Palmer?

  Mm-hmm.

• 53:27Speaker 02

I do not wanna be around your family. If you feel you wanna go hang out with them, you go ahead on and hang out with them. But they're not my style. They don't seem to respect me. I know you love your parents. I encourage that.

• 53:42Keke Palmer?

  Yeah.

• 53:43Speaker 02

But, you know, when I got married, I didn't really get along with your father's family.

• 53:47Keke Palmer?

  Yeah.

• 53:47Speaker 02

There was no contention. I didn't have anxiety. They just were totally different people. They like to, you know, lounge around and play cards and they were very close and loving. And my family, we were go-getters. We were like, oh, out the house and running and you know what I mean? Just different energy. Different, not bad people, different energy.

• 54:09Keke Palmer?

  Yeah.

• 54:09Speaker 02

So I didn't like going over his mother's house 'cause it seemed like every time I was there, it was like, huh, blah, blah. We were just laying around, eating, overeating, doing a bunch of stuff like that. And that was cool. When it was cool, when it wasn't, it wasn't. And I told him several times, I'm not going over your mother's house today and play cards. And, and you know, overindulge, I'm not doing it today. And he said, okay.

• 54:35Keke Palmer?

  Yeah.

• 54:36Speaker 02

So that's what you gotta be working for. You gotta be working for a partner that says, okay.

• 54:40Keke Palmer?

  Yeah.

• 54:41Speaker 02

I'm not gonna force you to be around my family and their different energy and their different vibe. I'm not gonna do it, cuz you know what will help? If you as a partner, tell that other partner, I'm not gonna force you.

• 54:54Keke Palmer?

  Yeah.

• 54:54Speaker 02

You come at your own pace.

• 54:56Keke Palmer?

  That's right.

• 54:57Speaker 02

Then you'll start finding ways to like the family because you're not being forced.

• 55:02Keke Palmer?

Yeah, you'll, you'll do it on your own terms. But I like what you said there. It's about, partnering is about finding people that respect your boundaries. And if you don't wanna go over there, she shouldn't have to go over there.

• 55:12Speaker 02

Right. Doesn't make you a bad person?

• 55:14Keke Palmer?

  No. Okay.

• 55:17Keke Palmer?

Next one. I'm reeling from a bombshell I just discovered about my fiance, and I need some advice ASAP. We've been together for four years, engaged for one, and I thought everything was perfect. I even booked our dream wedding venue before he proposed. What? Okay.

• 55:39Keke Palmer?

Girl? I even, I mean, did you hear that? I even booked our dream wedding venue before he proposed?

• 55:45Speaker 02

  Yeah.

• 55:46Keke Palmer?

Okay, she's, she's a psychic. But here's the kicker. I recently found out he's been catfishing other men online using my photos.

• 55:58Keke Palmer?

  That's right.

• 56:00Keke Palmer?

He's been posing as me, sending my intimate pictures to strangers, and having romantic conversations with multiple guys. I immediately broke off the engagement, but now I'm stuck with a bunch of non-refundable wedding deposits and some friends telling me I might have overreacted. Oh, and I haven't told my parents why I called it off. Because how do you even begin to explain this mess? Am I crazy for ending things over this? Should I hear him out? And how on earth do I move forward from here? What kind of friends does she have?

• 56:29Speaker 02

She should get rid of them friends.

• 56:30Keke Palmer?

What kind of friends does she have?

• 56:31Speaker 02

  Um, very silly.

• 56:33Keke Palmer?

  They're silly as shit.

• 56:35Speaker 02

Very silly friends, and no, you did not overreact.

• 56:38Keke Palmer?

They're gaslighting me. Because now I'm wondering, is this a modern day marriage issue?

• 56:41Speaker 02

No, um, he has some issues. Um, and I think the biggest thing is that he's very duplicitous. He's acting very sneaky, and he's doing weird stuff. And I don't know what the answer to what he's doing.

• 56:54Keke Palmer?

  Right.

• 56:54Speaker 02

But I do know the answer to how she tells her parents. She sits them down and she tells them. She just goes, hey, I'm really experiencing something right now. And let me just tell you what I'm going through.

• 57:05Keke Palmer?

  Yeah.

• 57:06Speaker 02

And give her parents, um, the ability to help her. Because a lot of times, we hide things from parents. Because we're ashamed. We're embarrassed, and we think, oh, my god, they're gonna ask me a hundred questions. But sometimes, parents surprise you. And they might just hug her. And they might just say, it's okay if you lose a deposit. I'll loan, I'll help you with that, or, I, you know, you know. They'll get, they'll say encouraging things. Every time that I ever went to my mother, you know, where I just really had to just go to her because I needed money, or I needed something, I would always get myself ready for her to say something bad. I'm like, oh, she gonna say something really bad. And it would be the most loving thing. It would be the most loving experience.

• 57:49Speaker 02

And I was like, wow, I could have asked her this two days ago.

• 57:52Keke Palmer?

  Yeah.

• 57:52Speaker 02

  You know?

• 57:53Keke Palmer?

I mean, I agree with you. I feel like as I've gotten older, I've told you and dad more things about what I'm going through, what's happening with me, and you guys give me such great feedback and wisdom. You know what I mean? With dealing with things. I think sometimes we think our parents are so outside of what we experience in today's time as well. We kind of age them out. Like, she might think, my parents don't know catfishing, my, but they understand what it's like to be lied to.

• 58:16Speaker 02

  They understand what it's, yes.

• 58:18Keke Palmer?

  You know what I'm saying?

• 58:18Speaker 02

They understand what it's like to be lied to. They understand what it's like that she feels embarrassed, man. They damn sure understand what it's like to lose money. On things that you can't get back. And me, I would sue his ass. I would say, hey, you did all this crazy shit.

• 58:34Keke Palmer?

  I love that.

• 58:34Speaker 02

And now, I'm not, definitely not gonna marry your ass. So, we gonna, you have to give me half of this stuff back. I'll see your ass in people's court, divorce court, or whatever court.

• 58:44Keke Palmer?

  I love that one.

• 58:45Speaker 02

Yeah, because that's crazy what he did. There's no excuse. I don't even know.

• 58:50Keke Palmer?

And you stole my identity, and it's against the law for you to share my intimate photos.

• 58:55Speaker 02

And you're pretending to be a woman.

• 59:02Keke Palmer?

  Sharon, I'm out.

• 59:04Speaker 02

Yeah, I mean, there's nothing wrong with that, just dress and come on out. Be, and be, date me, and that, that sneaking the hide shit is what's crazy, you know? Yeah.

• 59:15Keke Palmer?

  Thanks, Mom. You're the best.
