Alice, we need to talk about something very serious.

• 0:02Alice Levine?

Matt, if this is about what you saw when you walked into the studio the other day, I am so-

• 0:05Matt Forde?

  No, it's worse than that.

• 0:06Alice Levine?

  Oh, god.

• 0:07Matt Forde?

I've been laughing. Out loud, repeatedly. It's become a problem.

• 0:12Alice Levine?

That is a problem. That is against the rules of Last One Laughing. You would be out in seconds.

• 0:16Matt Forde?

I really would. And it's all because of this new podcast, The Last Laugh with the brilliant Roisin Connery. She's dissecting each moment of Last One Laughing UK, and I can't stop.

• 0:26Alice Levine?

She is so good. Okay, so for anyone that doesn't know about this, and frankly, where have you been? Last One Laughing was Amazon Prime's biggest comedy hit last year. Comedians trying not to laugh while making each other laugh is basically psychological warfare, but funny. The last one to laugh wins.

• 0:41Matt Forde?

Series two is out now. An Audible is bringing you the official companion podcast, where Roisin and guests from the show, David Mitchell, Joe Wilkinson, Diane Morgan, Sarah Pascoe, unpack it all. The backstage gossip, the tactics, the moments that didn't make the cut.

• 0:56Alice Levine?

It's like a DVD commentary, which I used to love.

• 1:00Matt Forde?

Right, we're going to play you a clip from the first episode so you can hear what all the fuss is about. If you like it, search for The Last Laugh, The Last One Laughing podcast, wherever you're listening to this.

• 1:10Speaker 02

Outside of work, what are the most inappropriate times either of you have ever laughed at something?

• 1:15Speaker 03

I always laugh at my children's parents' evenings. I find it so boring, and I know that I should be really filled with kind of enthusiasm, but everything they're saying, I know already. I'm their mum, like, they can't say anything to me. And even if they're like, "Oh, they've done so, so well", I'm like, "Well, they're not fucking doing it at home in my head." So I always have a slight giggle to myself.

• 1:37Speaker 02

And is it because if they say something, like, "They're such a lovely..."

• 1:40Speaker 03

  Yeah.

• 1:40Speaker 02

And then you go, you think-

• 1:41Speaker 03

Absolutely, in my head, I'm like-

• 1:42Speaker 04

Are you thinking you don't know the half of it?

• 1:44Speaker 02

  Yeah.

• 1:44Speaker 03

  Yeah, yeah.

• 1:46Speaker 02

And they're just sitting there, just like, "Ha, ha, ha."

• 1:48Speaker 04

She's an absolute angel, isn't she?

• 1:50Speaker 02

  She's absolutely agile.

• 1:51Speaker 03

I was just there going, "Okay, thanks very much. Please, she's all right for you." Go on.

• 1:58Speaker 04

Someone passed away and they had their funeral in, it was in the countryside and we all drove up to the church and just we got there, there was a cow standing in the road and out of nowhere, this bull pushed for a fence and started humping it. We could see the mourners going in and this cow was getting humped like fifty foot from the church and I was just sitting there and my friend was driving and she was like, what do I do? And I says, what we don't do is up upset it. You know what I mean? So we just sat there, we had to sit there till it finished. And then drove in. So that was, that was in my head the whole time through the, through the service. It was horrendous.

• 2:39Speaker 04

But on a lighter note, my, my friend was the first of her mates to get married. So he's right in his twenties. And so there's loads of friends from school at the wedding and it was quite a big church and they'd obviously been told to speak up. So they said, you take, I won't say their names because that's like twenty five years ago. So they said, you take to be your lawfully wedded husband. And she said really loudly, I do.

• 3:09Speaker 04

I would have been fine. I said, my mate next to me leant in, went, all right, girl.

• 3:18Speaker 04

I felt ostracised from the whole wedding because they like, they just didn't stop laughing. It was like we were, you know, you're like, this looks like we're doing it deliberately.

• 3:25Speaker 02

  Yeah.

• 3:26Speaker 04

But we're not and we're trying to be respectful.

• 3:28Speaker 03

And just can't hold it in.

• 3:29Speaker 04

  Yeah.

• 3:29Speaker 02

But once you're in that zone.

• 3:30Speaker 03

  Yeah.

• 3:31Speaker 04

I was horrible. I get flashbacks about it now.

• 3:34Speaker 02

Mine is if someone, even a serious situation, if someone, you know, if they haven't spoken and they're speaking, their voice breaks in any way. Like it's even, it can be like if I'm in a business meeting or something and someone goes, well, I laugh a bit and then they're like, oh yeah, my boy. And then it carries on and my brain, I'm like, don't think about it again. I just don't know why. Next up, I have a burning question for you.

• 3:58Speaker 02

Every episode of Last One Laughing, we find one question that's been asked and put it to our guests here. This time we're asking courtesy of Alan Carr.

• 4:05Speaker 05

Who's the fittest person with a moustache that you've ever seen?

• 4:10Speaker 03

  There's a couple of choices.

• 4:11Speaker 02

  Hmm.

• 4:12Speaker 03

One's sitting there, look, he's very handsome, isn't he?

• 4:14Speaker 04

  Ah, she's right.

• 4:15Speaker 03

You are a handsome, look, look, he's got red, I've done it for that. Look, he's like a beacon now.

• 4:19Speaker 02

  Yeah, he's.

• 4:21Speaker 03

  Ah ha.

• 4:23Speaker 03

No, he's a very handsome man and the other one I'd go for would be Oliver Hardy.

• 4:27Speaker 02

Oliver Hardy? You've really ruined, you've really taken away the effect of the first choice.

• 4:33Speaker 04

The blushing's gone. Now there's rage. A young.

• 4:37Speaker 02

Oh yeah, a young one, a young one.

• 4:39Speaker 04

Not, not where he's on Parky, losing it.

• 4:41Speaker 03

No, no, no, young, you know, in the films. Laurel and Hardy.

• 4:46Speaker 02

Yeah, Laurel and Hardy, we're all about reading on Parky.

• 4:48Speaker 04

I'm thinking of Oliver Reed. I thought you meant Ollie Reed.

• 4:51Speaker 02

  What's going on?

• 4:52Speaker 04

I thought you meant Ollie Reed.

• 4:54Speaker 03

Oliver Hardy, I was Laurel and Hardy.

• 4:56Speaker 02

Oh blimey, that's me, what? I'd love to see Oliver Hardy on Parky.

• 5:01Speaker 03

  Yeah.

• 5:02Speaker 02

  Wow.

• 5:02Speaker 04

  Oh.

• 5:03Speaker 03

Yeah, when I was younger, I used to sit and watch all the films.

• 5:06Speaker 02

  Yeah.

• 5:06Speaker 03

And I've got a real, I really find them so funny. Well, they're sexy. Anyone who's funny is sexy, aren't they? I find. You're very sexy.

• 5:13Speaker 02

You went with a lot of them, you get over that pretty fast.
