I use Ketone IQ when I need to stay sharp for the long haul. Long runs, lifting, before I shoot my bow, even when I'm podcasting, anytime I want steady focus without crashing. What I like about it is how it feels. It helps me stay locked in during long efforts and mentally demanding sessions. Not jittery, not wired, just clear and steady. Ketones are your brain's preferred fuel source. So instead of that spiked caffeine feeling, the focus feels calm and controlled. It lets me push without leaning on caffeine or sugar. I'm not chasing another cup of coffee or something sweet just to get through a workout or a long day.

• 0:43Cameron Hanes?

I can train, work, and think without that roller coaster of energy. Physically, I feel ready to go. Mentally, I'm locked in. That combination matters when you're putting in long hours and real work. Visit ketone.com backslash cam for 30% off your subscription order, plus receive a free gift with your second shipment. Or find Ketone IQ at Target stores nationwide in the hydration and protein aisle and get your first shot free. When you're deep in the backcountry and everything depends on your gear, your knife can't be the weak link. That's why I teamed up with Montana Knife Company to build the Keep Hammering Pack Out. What matters to me in all things is performance.

• 1:26Cameron Hanes?

The Pack Out is built to do one thing really well: break down animals efficiently. The blade shape gives you control when skinning, the steel holds an edge, and it's light enough that you don't think twice about carrying it all day. When you're tired, cold, and working on an animal miles from the truck, simple and reliable are everything. Montana Knife Company is American-made, and that matters to me. I know Josh Smith personally, and he doesn't cut corners. He cares about quality, doing things the right way, and about building products here in the USA that actually perform in the field. That's why I trust this knife. If you want to check it out, head to montanaknifecompany.com.

James is doing a good job. Let's give it up for James, your producer slash fluffer. Give it up to James.

• 2:41Cameron Hanes?

  Best fluffer in the business.

• 2:45Speaker 01

  Thank you for having me.

• 2:47Cameron Hanes?

  Yes.

• 2:47Speaker 01

  Yeah, for sure, for sure.

• 2:49Cameron Hanes?

  Hey, are we starting now?

• 2:50Speaker 02

  We're live.

• 2:51Cameron Hanes?

Okay, this is Keep Hammering Collective with Paulie Shore.

• 2:53Speaker 01

What's up? Keep Hammering Collective. Okay, let's start off with that title.

• 2:58Cameron Hanes?

  Right, right.

• 2:59Speaker 01

  So, keep hammering collective.

• 3:03Cameron Hanes?

That's right. Yeah. What does that mean to you?

• 3:05Speaker 01

That's what I'm trying to, I gotta get a guess.

• 3:09Cameron Hanes?

  So here it is.

• 3:09Speaker 01

  So, keep hammering.

• 3:11Cameron Hanes?

Yeah. What do you think that means?

• 3:13Speaker 01

Keep hammering, just keep going, you know, endurance.

• 3:17Cameron Hanes?

  That's it.

• 3:17Speaker 01

Endurance, like when this guy tried to do 50 miles when he pushed out on a half a mile because you hurt your, you hurt your what? Your Achilles heel?

• 3:26Speaker 02

  My pussy.

• 3:26Speaker 01

Yeah, but what we're gonna do is we're gonna shoot you with the [bleep] bow and then we're gonna gnaw on your [bleep] beef bow, bow, bow.

• 3:33Cameron Hanes?

Yeah, and then see what you think.

• 3:34Speaker 01

And then see what you think. So, I think keep hammering and the collective means like all of us.

• 3:39Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah.

• 3:39Speaker 01

  Is that right?

• 3:40Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah.

• 3:41Speaker 01

  Okay.

• 3:41Cameron Hanes?

Yeah, so, did you see all the pictures of the bow rack of the people? I forgot to show that to you.

• 3:45Speaker 01

Where, at your place or at the place?

• 3:47Cameron Hanes?

At the bow rack, where we just shot.

• 3:49Speaker 01

No, no, no, yeah, I was so excited to get to the back, yeah.

• 3:52Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah, you were.

• 3:53Speaker 01

  Yeah, so.

• 3:54Cameron Hanes?

So, you're in Eugene, Oregon, dude.

• 3:57Speaker 01

  I am.

• 3:58Cameron Hanes?

And like, you've been crushing it so much that they added another night to your show here.

• 4:03Speaker 01

Yes, I've been keep hammering collective, bro.

• 4:07Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah.

• 4:07Speaker 01

I'm just keep hammering. Um, no, I, I just think it's, um...

• 4:14Speaker 01

I think whatever I did back in the day stuck. You know, all the films and all this, the, the, the comedy and everything that I've done in my past, for some reason stuck. And it didn't just stick like, oh, that guy's funny and that was fun. I think it's emotionally for a lot of people. So I think when, when I do my autographs at the end, the people, they come up to me and they say really beautiful things and it like lands with me emotionally. So.

• 4:41Cameron Hanes?

Well, you were part of the growing up.

• 4:43Speaker 01

I put my heart into everything that I did and I still do. So, and I think people feel that. And I think your heart is the most important thing when it comes to what we do.

• 4:53Cameron Hanes?

How like, how do you like put your heart into it? I mean, you just care so much that you just.

• 4:58Speaker 01

We were talking about at breakfast, we're talking about money versus like work.

• 5:02Cameron Hanes?

  Right.

• 5:02Speaker 01

And we're talking about doing things out of passion and doing things out of money. And it's like, you know, a lot of people, they want to make money and they don't want to work. You know what I mean? And I think it's important that, um,

• 5:17Speaker 01

that we find something that gets us out of bed. And I think that's the most important thing about, I don't want to say life, but at the end of the day, your parents, your brothers, your sisters, all that shit are not going to be with you. You're going to be stuck with yourself. You know, every single day you're married. Yeah. I don't know your relationship. I don't know how per serious it is, not serious, how you guys are together. But at the end of the day, you're by yourself too. You know, and you love this. Obviously you're very successful at it. And this gets you out of bed.

• 5:50Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah.

• 5:50Speaker 01

And I think that's the most important thing about life. People are like, well, what's the key? But find something that gets you out of bed. And I feel really sad when I meet people and like, I don't know what it is. My heart breaks for them.

• 6:01Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah.

• 6:02Speaker 01

You know, because I found it at a young age, growing up.

• 6:05Cameron Hanes?

Have you, so you've always had that?

• 6:06Speaker 01

I've had it since I was little, little, little, little, little.

• 6:09Cameron Hanes?

And you never went through a time where you're like, is this what I do?

• 6:13Speaker 01

No, yeah, no, it was very, it was very, you know, growing up at the store and growing up around my parents. I just, you know, comedy is something that's, that's been in me since I was a little kid. And I just love making people laugh.

• 6:24Cameron Hanes?

Yeah. Just being silly, like as a kid, just trying to be silly.

• 6:27Speaker 01

Yeah, just around, you know what I mean? I love around and. And um, I don't know, even when I go, um, you know, just out in public, I'm very much my father. You know, my dad was always around, like he would see, he would go to YMCA and he would see some people there. And he would just start doing, it's called shtick.

• 6:47Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah.

• 6:47Speaker 01

He'd just, just constantly doing shtick. I mean, we did it at breakfast this morning.

• 6:51Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah.

• 6:51Speaker 01

  You know what I mean?

• 6:52Cameron Hanes?

We did it at the Bow Rack.

• 6:53Speaker 01

Yeah, we did it at the Bow Rack with our friend.

• 6:55Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah, with Wayne.

• 6:56Speaker 01

Yeah, and uh, I don't know, I just, that's why I like to fly coach.

• 7:01Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah.

• 7:01Speaker 01

You know, when I travel, I like to be with people. You know, I get off on people. And when they don't know who I am, I get, I, my dick gets more hard. You know what I mean? I'm like, oh my God, this is so much fun. Like, you know what I mean? Cause then I could be really stupid.

• 7:15Cameron Hanes?

That's like James at the glory hole.

• 7:17Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 7:18Cameron Hanes?

He's like, he, that's really gets him hard. Um, that's kind of off subject. Um, did you like, is it funny? So you go and you kind of, most people aren't ready for like you at the Bow Rack. You know, Wayne's pretty serious. He's like teaching a serious thing. And then you're screwing around. It's like, people aren't ready for that.

• 7:39Speaker 03

You put some effort into it.

• 7:40Speaker 01

  This is too heavy.

• 7:41Speaker 03

  It's too heavy? Okay.

• 7:43Speaker 01

  Why is he?

• 7:47Speaker 01

  Cock sucker.

• 7:48Speaker 03

No, no, no, don't do that.

• 7:49Speaker 01

I know. Well, he's pissing me off.

• 7:52Speaker 03

  That's okay.

• 7:53Speaker 01

  You know, he's coming.

• 7:53Speaker 03

You've never been mad before, have you?

• 7:55Speaker 01

Dude, he invites me in his town. And then what does he do? He makes fun of me. What these motherfuckers don't know is that I've been doing this shit since I was a kid. I've been doing this shit in Bakersfield for many years. They think they're all high and tidy up here in Eugene, Oregon. Bunch of pussies up here. What do you think? You think that's funny, dude?

• 8:19Cameron Hanes?

  I do.

• 8:20Speaker 01

Well, watch you see me archery. You don't know how to archery, dude. I grew up with motherfuckin' Indians, bro. You know what I mean? So you, you white man, you took the, you took the land from us. Hey, listen, do you have any advice for me? Just kick six feet, bro. I don't want your, I don't want all your uh.

• 8:38Cameron Hanes?

  Cooties?

• 8:38Speaker 01

  Cooties.

• 8:39Speaker 03

  Yeah, there you go.

• 8:40Speaker 01

  There you go.

• 8:41Cameron Hanes?

All the way back, all the way back. There you go. See how much faster that went? The further you pull it back, the faster it's gonna go.

• 8:49Speaker 01

Oh shit, now he's getting the Chinese one.

• 8:53Cameron Hanes?

Is part of the fun gauging their reaction?

• 8:57Speaker 01

  I, yeah, of course.

• 8:58Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah.

• 8:58Speaker 01

You know what I mean? It's like, you know, it's like, the, to me, the best part about comedy in, in particulars, you know, I look at my comedy is people's reaction. So if you look at the film I did, Son-in-Law, which was a film that I did that was successful for me, um, it wasn't about what my character did, it was about how people react to my character.

• 9:24Cameron Hanes?

  Right.

• 9:25Speaker 01

  And that's the comedy.

• 9:26Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah.

• 9:26Speaker 01

You know what I mean? Even I did a movie called Adopted, where I go to Africa to adopt black babies. You know what I mean? And it's very kind of controversial and it's this and that, but it's played completely straight. It's, you know, it's scripted, believe it or not, there's a lot of stuff that's not real in it, you don't know, you skate the line. But it's all about people reacting, so you cut to the camera, you know, so I'm yelling at camera guys, like, or whatever, and I'm like, cut to the reaction, cut to the reaction.

• 9:53Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah.

• 9:53Speaker 01

Because to me, that's the funniest thing.

• 9:55Cameron Hanes?

  No, that's true.

• 9:56Speaker 01

I love people reacting, you know?

• 9:57Cameron Hanes?

Yeah, cuz I, I've never been around somebody, cuz most people don't wanna quote, "cause a scene."

• 10:03Speaker 01

  Hmm.

• 10:03Cameron Hanes?

You know what I mean? But you're kinda causing a scene.

• 10:06Speaker 01

  I love it.

• 10:07Cameron Hanes?

Yeah, it's like, I'm just saying.

• 10:09Speaker 01

I got it from my dad.

• 10:10Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah.

• 10:11Speaker 01

My dad was always doing shtick.

• 10:12Cameron Hanes?

  Right.

• 10:13Speaker 01

  Always around, you know?

• 10:14Cameron Hanes?

It's fun, it just catches people off guard because nobody does it, and they don't know how to react.

• 10:18Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 10:19Cameron Hanes?

That's what I say, it's like, I love, like, when you were acting, talking about you're gonna fight James, and Wayne was probably like, "What in the hell is going on?"

• 10:28Speaker 03

Or he was going, "What is going on?" Okay, so just stay with me here, come on, come on, come on, let me, all the way back, don't, don't.

• 10:34Speaker 01

But he says use my back muscles.

• 10:35Speaker 03

Yep. Come on back, come on back.

• 10:37Cameron Hanes?

  There you go.

• 10:38Speaker 01

Yeah, and then I touch this.

• 10:39Speaker 03

Now, now, now, now. Move your head forward, move your head forward.

• 10:41Cameron Hanes?

  Yep.

• 10:42Speaker 03

Now look through, look through that hole.

• 10:43Cameron Hanes?

You look through that, and you look at that top pin.

• 10:45Speaker 03

Go closer to it, go closer to it with your head.

• 10:47Cameron Hanes?

  There you go.

• 10:47Speaker 03

Okay? That green pin, put it on the yellow. Put the green pin on the yellow. Now bring your finger around, now touch that trigger. There we go.

• 10:55Speaker 01

  Ready?

• 10:55Speaker 03

  Yep. Boom.

• 10:57Speaker 01

Why did you make it difficult and he made it more? No, I'm just kidding. No, we did good.

• 11:05Speaker 03

So bring your hand tight to the jaw. Tight to the jaw, right here.

• 11:08Cameron Hanes?

  I got it.

• 11:09Speaker 03

There you go. Got to look through this though. Got to look through this. There you go. Now put that third pin, third pin right in that black, in that white hole down there. Try it.

• 11:20Speaker 03

Nice, right in the hole. Very good, yeah.

• 11:22Cameron Hanes?

  Was it?

• 11:23Speaker 03

  Yeah.

• 11:24Cameron Hanes?

  Dude.

• 11:26Speaker 01

Dude, I just think of my ex-girlfriend, bro.

• 11:28Cameron Hanes?

Yeah, and then I, I went to the bathroom, I came back and he was like, almost like, I don't know if this is gonna work, because I don't know what happened when I was gone, but it was like, something happened.

• 11:38Speaker 01

I was just trying to figure, I wasn't trying to be, I mean, I was doing shtick, I was around, but I was really concerned about, I mean, it's a dangerous thing what you guys do.

• 11:47Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah.

• 11:47Speaker 01

You know what I mean? I, I don't want to say I'm an idiot, but I'm kind of an idiot.

• 11:50Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah.

• 11:50Speaker 01

When it comes to this type of stuff. I don't know how to kill deer. I don't know, you know, you got all these dead animals around me.

• 11:56Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah.

• 11:57Speaker 01

Like, I think in, after I just did it for, that was only for 40 minutes, dude, and now I feel like I'm addicted. So you're like going, I'm gonna, at first, at first, at first we're having breakfast, like, I'm gonna send you the bow. And I'm like, alright, okay, cool, I'll have a bow, put it in my closet. Now, after I've done it, I feel like my dick got hard, I'm like, I wanna, I wanna shoot this motherf-

• 12:18Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah.

• 12:18Speaker 01

And then I showed you an area in my backyard where I could do it and, and like, you know, I'm feel bad for my neighbors.

• 12:23Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah, that's alright.

• 12:24Speaker 01

Now you gotta be careful, but it is a little bit addicting.

• 12:27Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah, it is.

• 12:28Speaker 01

  You know what I mean?

• 12:29Cameron Hanes?

So here's what we say when we take new archers down there, this has been a reoccurring theme. And Wayne gives them this talk generally, is that archery feels natural because man has always hunted. Like, our genetics have been as hunters, that's how we've survived. And as hunters, it was with a bow and arrow for mi- for thousands, tens of thousands of years. And so when somebody who's even never done it, starts to do, it starts to feel like, oh, this is what I'm, this is what I'm supposed to be doing.

• 12:57Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 12:58Cameron Hanes?

And that's why you thought you'd put it in your closet, and now it's just like, no, this is, it, it awoke something in you.

• 13:05Speaker 01

  Yeah, yeah, yeah.

• 13:05Cameron Hanes?

And, and people, you know, it sounds kind of weird to say, but it's true. Our genetics and our, you know, our history is in us.

• 13:12Speaker 01

  Yeah, hunting.

• 13:13Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah.

• 13:14Speaker 01

Yeah, yeah, so, um- But also, um, excuse me, it's also a lot more advanced.

• 13:22Cameron Hanes?

  Yes.

• 13:22Speaker 01

Now than it was, I'm sure before.

• 13:24Cameron Hanes?

Oh, yeah. We started with, you want to shoot the recur first. That's that, like the Boy Scout bow.

• 13:30Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 13:30Cameron Hanes?

And that's kind of where, when we talk about old hunting, like back in, you know, primitive times, it would be with a bow like that.

• 13:36Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 13:37Cameron Hanes?

But now we've evolved and now we have that new equipment, the last bow that you shot, where you shot that elk made great shots. You know, long, long distance. That's what, you can see that a bow like you first shot wouldn't be capable of that today.

• 13:51Speaker 01

  Correct.

• 13:51Cameron Hanes?

That's like months and months of practice. But today you were able to pick up the compound bow and you were very accurate.

• 13:57Speaker 01

Yeah. So, so people watching that are watching right now that don't know what the compound bow is, it's very intricate, but it's very scientifically like gonna work.

• 14:09Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah.

• 14:09Speaker 01

You know what I mean? So you, it's, it's like, you gotta, first of all, you gotta get your stance, right? So you get that, you breathe.

• 14:14Cameron Hanes?

  Yep.

• 14:15Speaker 01

And then you get your fingers in the right space.

• 14:17Cameron Hanes?

  Yep.

• 14:17Speaker 01

And then you get the hook and you put the hook in it and you make sure the, um, the finger is behind the, what is it? The trigger. And then you line up, they give you a light.

• 14:27Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah.

• 14:28Speaker 01

So as long as you put that little black thing where the light is and you line it up and you breathe and you relax, like if you're doing stand up or boxing or whatever, you know, you get rid of your anxiety, your nerves. You just kind of breathe and you just go, and it, and it, and because of the light, the yellow light needs to be lined up with the, the bull or the, the geese or what was it?

• 14:51Cameron Hanes?

  That was a bull elk.

• 14:51Speaker 01

  A bull elk.

• 14:52Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah.

• 14:53Speaker 01

As long as you line it up, it gets right in the, right?

• 14:55Cameron Hanes?

Yeah. And you look through the peep sight, that's the black thing you're talking about.

• 14:58Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 14:59Cameron Hanes?

The fiber optic pin is what's lit up. You use a yellow pin on that elk. And you line that up, you relax, as you said, but I always say, let the bow do what it's intended to do. We can only screw it up as a man.

• 15:10Speaker 01

  Got it.

• 15:10Cameron Hanes?

Right? If we let the bow do what it does, and that's where you try to relax and have no impact, like you're not twisting your wrist, you're not punching the trigger back here, you just relax, slowly squeeze and keep that pin there.

• 15:21Speaker 01

And then, yeah, and then also another thing is don't put your, don't put your arm on the wire. Wire, move it away and yeah, it's gotta have the fingers that way, right?

• 15:30Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah.

• 15:30Speaker 01

  So that's, that's something I learned too.

• 15:32Cameron Hanes?

That's the grip on the bow where if people go too deep in like this and they rotate that forearm in, and the string hits and that's called a string bite, basically.

• 15:41Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 15:42Cameron Hanes?

Or string slap on your forearm.

• 15:43Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 15:43Cameron Hanes?

But if you rotate and put it, have it basically down your thumb there, your fingers resting on the front of the grip, then that forearm's out of the way.

• 15:51Speaker 01

And then when you started working with Joe, um, was that, that was 2014?

• 15:55Cameron Hanes?

  Yep.

• 15:56Speaker 01

Where you took him up to, uh, what was it? Canada?

• 15:58Cameron Hanes?

  Alberta, yeah.

• 15:59Speaker 01

Yeah. And then, so would you guys fly up there? And then how long were you up there for? And how many, and that was the first animal he killed?

• 16:06Cameron Hanes?

That, he killed a deer with a rifle before.

• 16:09Speaker 01

  Oh, with a rifle?

• 16:10Cameron Hanes?

  With a rifle.

• 16:10Speaker 01

Oh shit, do you shoot rifles too?

• 16:12Cameron Hanes?

  I don't.

• 16:12Speaker 01

  Oh.

• 16:13Cameron Hanes?

  No, I only go-

• 16:14Speaker 01

Let me get the hell out of here. I thought we were gonna do shoot a rifle later. I thought that was part of this thing. We go from a thing, no, I'm just kidding. So, um.

• 16:21Cameron Hanes?

Yeah, so I don't rifle hunt, but I took him, took him up there on his first, that was his first bow hunt. And I said, let's do a bear because I could sit with him and be right there with him and a bear would be at 20 yards, very close.

• 16:33Speaker 01

  That's close.

• 16:34Cameron Hanes?

And I could say whether it was a male or female and everything, and I could say, just like I did with you today, like relax, keep the pin there. So kind of you walked, I gotta whisper, cause the animal's right there, but you kind of whisper through the process. It's, it's a good for a first time archer. That's a good hunt. And we were up there probably, I don't know, five days. We both killed bear and he made a great shot. And he's just been addicted to bow hunting since then.

• 16:58Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 16:58Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah.

• 16:58Speaker 01

And then, so like we talked about off camera when we were there, basically what you do is you shoot them in this area.

• 17:05Cameron Hanes?

  In the lungs.

• 17:05Speaker 01

In the area. And then when we go to say like Ruth Chris Steakhouse or, you know, Mastro's or, you know, STK, and we're sitting there and we're having this killer ass meal.

• 17:17Cameron Hanes?

  Yep.

• 17:17Speaker 01

You're the one that kills these animals that are that meal.

• 17:21Cameron Hanes?

  That's right, yeah.

• 17:22Speaker 01

So for instance, tell us what you do. You kill it and then you start ripping it apart.

• 17:26Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah.

• 17:26Speaker 01

Cause you have to physically walk over to it and you're going, yo dude, I'm sorry I killed you, but you're- Gonna feed my family.

• 17:33Cameron Hanes?

  That's right. Yeah.

• 17:34Speaker 01

So what do you say? Do you say I'm so sorry and do a thing or what?

• 17:37Cameron Hanes?

  Um, I don't, I don't say, I don't speak verbally generally, but it's.

• 17:42Speaker 01

I mean, you just killed the guy.

• 17:43Cameron Hanes?

There is respect, there is honor and, and you know, I am appreciative that animal gave its life for me to survive. Right? So it's, there's, uh, there's a lot of reverence there. And I don't like when hunters don't act like they, they did something. That's, you took a life, right? You should honor that. You should respect that. And, uh.

• 18:02Speaker 01

And he's like a real person kinda.

• 18:05Cameron Hanes?

  It's, well.

• 18:05Speaker 01

I mean, it's like a bull. It's one of these guys are big, beautiful.

• 18:09Cameron Hanes?

  To get the.

• 18:09Speaker 01

James, can you pan around so we can get a B-roll shot of all these things he killed that he's, you know, he's talking about? There you go. Thank you, sir.

• 18:17Cameron Hanes?

Like a bull like this would be 10 years old. So it's lived out there. It's lived wild for 10 years.

• 18:23Speaker 01

How long do bulls usually live before you kill them?

• 18:27Cameron Hanes?

  Is old 10, but.

• 18:28Speaker 01

  So it's like a dog.

• 18:29Cameron Hanes?

Yeah. If I can get one 10, I mean, I've killed one that was 15 years old.

• 18:33Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 18:34Cameron Hanes?

And that's a very old, cause life in the wild is tough, dude.

• 18:37Speaker 01

  Wow.

• 18:37Cameron Hanes?

  Lions, bears, wolves.

• 18:40Speaker 01

Have you been to Africa and done a game farm before?

• 18:42Cameron Hanes?

I have, I've been to Africa, but not on a game farm.

• 18:45Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 18:46Cameron Hanes?

  So I was in.

• 18:46Speaker 01

Well, that'd be crazy if you were on a game farm and you brought your bow and then the tour guide would go, whoa, whoa, whoa, what the? Sorry, man. I'm just addicted to killing these mother.

• 18:55Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah.

• 18:55Speaker 01

  Right?

• 18:57Cameron Hanes?

  I, I, it's.

• 18:58Speaker 01

That's great. Cause I've been to Africa, dude.

• 19:00Cameron Hanes?

  Have you?

• 19:00Speaker 01

And I've seen the giraffes and I've seen the lions and I've seen all that shit.

• 19:04Cameron Hanes?

  What country?

• 19:04Speaker 01

It's fucking, it was like, I think Joburg, well, no, it was South Africa, but.

• 19:08Cameron Hanes?

  Oh, Johannesburg?

• 19:09Speaker 01

Yeah, Johannesburg. But I went on a game farm. It was pretty wild. And the giraffes were right out there. It's beautiful. Yeah.

• 19:14Cameron Hanes?

  But you saw lions too?

• 19:16Speaker 01

  Yes.

• 19:16Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah.

• 19:16Speaker 01

  Yeah, that's gnarly, dude.

• 19:19Cameron Hanes?

So I've, I've went to Tanzania where there's no fence or anything. It's wild. And I've hunted Cape buffalo, lions, um, impala, uh, kudu, hyena. So I've, I've, yeah, I've been there a lot.

• 19:33Speaker 01

Okay. So, so you go and you, you kill this, this deer or this bull, right? And then you walk over it and what do you say to it?

• 19:40Cameron Hanes?

  I say.

• 19:40Speaker 01

Oh, me so sorry. I kill you for your beef.

• 19:44Cameron Hanes?

  That's.

• 19:44Speaker 01

You mother, eat in my mouth. Fill up my belly. Fill up my belly.

• 19:49Cameron Hanes?

  Pretty much. That's a direct.

• 19:50Speaker 01

  Know what he said?

• 19:51Cameron Hanes?

  That's a direct quote.

• 19:51Speaker 01

And he brings some soy sauce and teriyaki sauce right there.

• 19:54Cameron Hanes?

  Start to marinate.

• 19:54Speaker 01

And you're straight up farm to table, bro.

• 19:56Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah.

• 19:57Speaker 01

  That's you, right?

• 19:58Cameron Hanes?

Yeah, so I go over there, I

• 19:59Speaker 01

Why don't you have some beef for us to eat right here, bro? Let's eat this shit.

• 20:03Cameron Hanes?

  James.

• 20:04Speaker 01

What kind of hosts are you, man?

• 20:06Cameron Hanes?

  This is, this is embarrassing.

• 20:07Speaker 01

Yeah, maybe we get my do- our dogs.

• 20:09Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah.

• 20:10Speaker 01

We can just chop them up, yeah. Okay, so go on.

• 20:14Cameron Hanes?

Yeah, so I go over there, um, you know, tell the animal I appreciate the sacrifice. It's this, this is how I survive. I'm gonna feed my family, my community with this. So after that, then I get, get to work. I start to skin the animal out. You gotta get the hide off of it, like this.

• 20:30Speaker 01

So you gotta get the hair off it?

• 20:31Cameron Hanes?

So that's a wolf hide right there. To get that off, or this is raccoon, obviously.

• 20:36Speaker 01

Here, can I put the raccoon hat on?

• 20:37Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah.

• 20:37Speaker 01

  That's badass.

• 20:38Cameron Hanes?

  Of course.

• 20:39Speaker 01

So is this, would you ever kill weasels? Cause you know, my character's like a weasel.

• 20:44Cameron Hanes?

Yeah, no, I don't think so.

• 20:45Speaker 01

  What do you think?

• 20:45Cameron Hanes?

I wouldn't kill, that looks good.

• 20:46Speaker 01

Dude, that's badass. Look, I look like a baby Joe Rogan, dude. Hey, come on, brother, let's get some deer and eat that mother.

• 20:56Cameron Hanes?

I like it, I like it. That's good.

• 20:58Speaker 01

  Sorry, go on.

• 20:59Cameron Hanes?

Um, so yeah, then we, we use a very sharp knife. We start to skin the animal out.

• 21:04Speaker 01

Did Joe skin the knives or skin them too?

• 21:06Cameron Hanes?

Yeah, yeah, we went through that whole process.

• 21:08Speaker 01

He went through, what was he, was he throwing up or was he cool?

• 21:10Cameron Hanes?

No, no, no, but it's just.

• 21:11Speaker 01

Did people get grossed out by it?

• 21:13Cameron Hanes?

  Sometimes.

• 21:13Speaker 01

  Yeah, okay, sorry, go on.

• 21:14Cameron Hanes?

He was fine, but we have a, a great picture of, uh, me and him skinning out his first bear. It's like a classic.

• 21:20Speaker 01

  Sick.

• 21:20Cameron Hanes?

Um, but yeah, so you get the hide off and then it's basically that meat is exposed. The meat's still all on the bone, of course, but the hide is off of it. And then you start to cut the meat off or cut the quarters off, which means you cut the legs off. So the front legs, that's the front quarters, the back legs are the hind quarters. Lots like on a bull elk, this hind quarter, one leg might weigh, could weigh eighty pounds.

• 21:43Speaker 01

  Big dude, yeah, yeah.

• 21:44Cameron Hanes?

Heavy. And moose are even bigger. But, so we have to take it off in chunks. Then we tie that eight or ninety pounds to our pack and haul it out.

• 21:52Speaker 01

  And you leave the rest?

• 21:53Cameron Hanes?

  Then you gotta come back.

• 21:53Speaker 01

And all that shit. And do the hyenas come and get the guts?

• 21:56Cameron Hanes?

Well, hyenas would be in Africa, but here it would be like, uh, black bear, coyotes, uh, lions, things like that.

• 22:03Speaker 01

And they go eat the, the, you know, and then you get the hawks. Birds, they come down, right?

• 22:08Cameron Hanes?

They can really fuck up meat.

• 22:10Speaker 01

  Oh, I'm sure.

• 22:11Cameron Hanes?

And if you see them in Africa.

• 22:12Speaker 01

But you leave the, you leave the brains and all that shit, right?

• 22:14Cameron Hanes?

  Right, so.

• 22:15Speaker 01

  The testicles?

• 22:16Cameron Hanes?

  Uh.

• 22:17Speaker 01

You bring them sometimes for the gays.

• 22:19Cameron Hanes?

  Sometimes.

• 22:19Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 22:20Cameron Hanes?

  For James loves the testicles.

• 22:21Speaker 01

Testicle festivals. I've been to the testicle festivals. Have you been to the testicle festivals?

• 22:25Cameron Hanes?

  I haven't.

• 22:25Speaker 01

Where you fly, where you, where you eat the fried balls?

• 22:28Cameron Hanes?

  I haven't.

• 22:28Speaker 01

  But you've heard about it.

• 22:29Cameron Hanes?

  Fries balls, yeah.

• 22:30Speaker 01

  Yeah, they're good, right?

• 22:31Cameron Hanes?

Yeah, James loves them on his chin.

• 22:33Speaker 01

  Whoa, bro.

• 22:34Cameron Hanes?

  Just fresh, fresh, regular softballs.

• 22:36Speaker 02

Yeah, I don't like them fried.

• 22:38Speaker 01

No, you like them like seared. Okay, go on.

• 22:42Cameron Hanes?

Um, so then we get that meat off.

• 22:44Speaker 01

So you come back in a backpack. So like a, how, how much does a moose weigh? Is this, so it's a moose, a deer, or a bear? That's it?

• 22:52Cameron Hanes?

  It's a, well.

• 22:53Speaker 01

Lions and tigers and bears, oh my.

• 22:55Cameron Hanes?

  Moose, elk, deer, bear.

• 22:57Speaker 01

Okay, so you got a moose, you got an elk, you.

• 23:01Cameron Hanes?

  What the?

• 23:02Speaker 01

Dude, a lot of people that are learning from this.

• 23:05Cameron Hanes?

  What the is his problem?

• 23:07Speaker 01

Well, he doesn't get it, dude.

• 23:08Cameron Hanes?

  He doesn't get it.

• 23:09Speaker 01

The way I slow shit down, try to explain it, or for the people watching.

• 23:12Cameron Hanes?

  He doesn't.

• 23:13Speaker 01

That are trying to, that they, they come in it like me, fish out of water, bro.

• 23:17Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah.

• 23:17Speaker 01

You know, I don't know this shit, so I'm trying to slow down the process. So you got a moose, you got an elk, and you got a deer and a bear.

• 23:24Cameron Hanes?

  Right.

• 23:24Speaker 01

  And that's it.

• 23:25Cameron Hanes?

  Generally.

• 23:26Speaker 01

Wait, wait, wait, wait, no, I gotta know for sure. Are those the four, four animals?

• 23:30Cameron Hanes?

  That I hunt?

• 23:30Speaker 01

Yeah. Or that most people do?

• 23:32Cameron Hanes?

Oh, most people, most people I'd say would just hunt deer and elk.

• 23:35Speaker 01

Okay, but, but on the playing field, those are the four ones mostly.

• 23:40Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah, I mean.

• 23:42Speaker 01

  There's others?

• 23:43Cameron Hanes?

  What the is he?

• 23:45Speaker 01

  There's others?

• 23:46Cameron Hanes?

  What is he doing?

• 23:47Speaker 01

Who cares? He's not with us.

• 23:49Cameron Hanes?

Um, well, let's see, so there's 29 big game animals in North America, 29 different species.

• 23:56Speaker 01

Okay, then now we're going into, that's another podcast, so just four, you got four main ones.

• 24:00Cameron Hanes?

  Well, just say.

• 24:01Speaker 01

  Four main ones.

• 24:01Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah.

• 24:02Speaker 01

And so who, when you, when you kill one, what is the one that you get most stoked about killing?

• 24:09Speaker 01

  I don't know. I don't know what that is.

• 24:10Cameron Hanes?

  See this big bull elk?

• 24:12Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 24:12Cameron Hanes?

I mean, how can you, how can anything be more badass than a big bull elk?

• 24:16Speaker 01

  Okay, so an elk.

• 24:17Cameron Hanes?

  An elk.

• 24:17Speaker 01

  Is the number one.

• 24:18Cameron Hanes?

I always say I could elk or giant bear, because I like dangerous game.

• 24:23Speaker 01

And then this is the giant bear?

• 24:24Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah. Lift that.

• 24:26Speaker 01

  Oh shit.

• 24:27Cameron Hanes?

So that bear was nine foot, six inches tall.

• 24:31Speaker 01

Wow, so this is a bear?

• 24:33Cameron Hanes?

  Bear.

• 24:34Speaker 01

So kinda like when you see those videos on YouTube?

• 24:36Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah, like.

• 24:37Speaker 01

Of people getting scared about the bear going in the, this is a bear.

• 24:40Cameron Hanes?

Did you ever see the, the show called Grizzly Man? With Timothy Treadwell? He tried to live with the bear.

• 24:47Speaker 01

  Oh my god.

• 24:48Cameron Hanes?

And he was friends with him, and then they ate him and his girlfriend.

• 24:52Speaker 01

The bear eventually ate, the bear eventually ate him and his girlfriend?

• 24:55Cameron Hanes?

  He thought.

• 24:56Speaker 01

Or the, or he ate his girlfriend and then the bear killed him because he was jealous?

• 25:01Cameron Hanes?

Now my, I don't know how, I don't know the chain of events, but what I do know.

• 25:05Speaker 01

  People are getting eaten out.

• 25:06Cameron Hanes?

I do know that he felt that he and the bears were friends and the bears didn't maybe have that same understanding.

• 25:13Speaker 01

  Wow.

• 25:14Cameron Hanes?

They thought that, oh no, you're a morsel.

• 25:16Speaker 01

  Wow. Okay, so.

• 25:20Speaker 01

So you take back all the meat. You couldn't possibly eat all that meat by yourself.

• 25:25Cameron Hanes?

Well, let me think about this. So. An elk, you'll get, say, 300 pounds of meat. I eat probably two pounds of meat every day. I've been shooting Hoyt for over 20 years now, and they're a lifetime partner of mine. That's not something I take lightly. I stay with partners that prove themselves. And Hoyt continues to do that year after year. They shattered the industry standards and built the AX90, the first 90-pound bow to exist and be offered to consumers. Why? Because they have pioneered more advancements in archery than any other company of their time. That's why I work with them, because they are the best.

• 26:06Cameron Hanes?

For me, I want the most energy I can shoot in a bow. I want a heavy arrow hitting hard. To do that, I like to shoot 90 pounds. I shoot a 90-pound bow because I want a hard-hitting arrow delivered with enough force to push through, say, a rib or the edge of a shoulder blade. Because it's bow hunting. Not every shot is going to be perfect. But when the animal reacts, or maybe I don't make the most perfect shot, I still want to deliver a lethal arrow and a 90-pound bow gives me more room for error. If you shoot 60 and I shoot 90, I will kill every animal you will kill at 60 pounds,

• 26:47Cameron Hanes?

but you won't kill every animal I will at 90. That's just the way it goes. That's why I shoot the most poundage I can, and for me, that's a 90-pound bow. You can't pull 90? Don't worry. Most people can't. Hoyt makes bows for hunters at all levels, and they're all the best on the market. Hoyt will never rest on their laurels and bring subpar products to the market. And that's why I love working with them. The 90-pound bow to multiple iterations, and while I was impatient, they were not. They wanted it perfected. That's who they are, and that tells you a lot about the people working there. Unfortunately, they don't offer discounts on bows, but if you want to grab some Hoyt merch or selected accessories,

• 27:29Cameron Hanes?

you can use my code CAM for 20% off. If you're serious about archery and you want something you can rely on, shoot a Hoyt. Go find one at your local dealer, just like the bow rack here down the street from me, and try it for yourself. Get serious, get Hoyt, and keep hammering. Some people wake up when they have to. Some people wake up because something in them refuses to stay still. Spring has a way of exposing that. New light, new ground, new work to be done. Out with the old excuses, in with the new standard. If you're lacing up boots before sunrise, loading up a pack,

• 28:11Cameron Hanes?

stepping into the garage gym, or logging miles while the world's still quiet, you don't need soft fuel. You need something built for rebellion, the disciplined kind. Black Rifle Coffee didn't discover grit in 2026. They were founded on it. Built by veterans who understand early mornings, quiet courage, and doing hard reps, nobody applauds. Their ready-to-drink cold brew is made for motion. Just black, clean, direct, no nonsense. Vanilla, smooth, bold, still all business.

Fuel the rebellion and keep hammering. So how many, how many pounds?

• 29:26Speaker 01

Say that again, elk is how many pounds?

• 29:28Cameron Hanes?

  300.

• 29:29Speaker 01

Okay, and you eat two pounds?

• 29:30Cameron Hanes?

  Every day.

• 29:31Speaker 01

Okay, so that being said, so that's a lot.

• 29:34Cameron Hanes?

That's over 600 pounds of meat I need just for myself.

• 29:37Speaker 01

  Right.

• 29:38Cameron Hanes?

So I need to kill two bulls just for myself, but I have five people in my family.

• 29:42Speaker 01

And do you have a freezer with a whole bunch of meat?

• 29:44Cameron Hanes?

  I have three freezers.

• 29:45Speaker 01

  Three freezers.

• 29:45Cameron Hanes?

Three freezers, so, um, most people.

• 29:48Speaker 01

Do you ever have to, do you ever sell it to like, you know, Ruth Chris or a, or a, you know, a Mastro's or anything?

• 29:54Cameron Hanes?

  No, because.

• 29:55Speaker 01

  STK?

• 29:56Cameron Hanes?

  No.

• 29:56Speaker 01

What about Cut? That's Wolf King guts, Wolf King Pucks place.

• 30:01Cameron Hanes?

No, because these animals in the wild are very lean, whereas a good steak is fat. Like these cows, they don't move, right? They got marbled fat all over their muscle because they're not in shape, but that fat is what gives a meat flavor.

• 30:17Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 30:18Cameron Hanes?

When you get a ribeye, very fatty, but very flavorful.

• 30:21Speaker 01

  Right.

• 30:21Cameron Hanes?

And elk is very lean, so it doesn't have that fat in it.

• 30:24Speaker 01

So they don't want the elk?

• 30:27Cameron Hanes?

They don't want the elk. It's for taste wise, it wouldn't be anywhere close to like a ribeye, but for what it means to me and what it offers me nutritionally, it's way better.

• 30:36Speaker 01

  Hmm.

• 30:37Cameron Hanes?

Because it means something. I, I killed it. I didn't just pay somebody to kill it. You go to Ruth Chris, you're trading money and you're saying, hey, could somebody kill this for me and put it here?

• 30:46Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 30:46Cameron Hanes?

  I'll do that myself.

• 30:47Speaker 01

That's what a normal person does. You're crazy.

• 30:48Cameron Hanes?

  I'll do it myself.

• 30:49Speaker 01

Yeah, you do it yourself. That's insane.

• 30:51Cameron Hanes?

And you're gonna do it because you got a bow now.

• 30:53Speaker 01

  Yeah, I got a bow.

• 30:54Cameron Hanes?

  What are we gonna hunt?

• 30:54Speaker 01

I live in the Hollywood Hills. I'll, I'll, you know, kill some movie executives or something. That'll be good.

• 31:01Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah, I think, I mean, I don't think anybody.

• 31:03Speaker 01

Look, I'm like Daniel Boone, bro. What do you think?

• 31:05Cameron Hanes?

I don't think anybody would argue with killing movie execs.

• 31:10Speaker 01

But uh, yeah, it was pretty fun. So yeah, it's definitely addicting. Uh, I don't think it's like golf. I've been out on the golf course, you know, I'm not a golfer.

• 31:18Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah.

• 31:18Speaker 01

You know, it's not my thing, but I have been out there, not for me.

• 31:22Cameron Hanes?

  No.

• 31:22Speaker 01

This seems a little bit more.

• 31:23Cameron Hanes?

  You like it?

• 31:24Speaker 01

  My style, yeah.

• 31:24Cameron Hanes?

  Why?

• 31:28Speaker 01

Um, I think the uh, uh, the machine itself is interesting. You know, just that machine, how it's so, it's so complicated.

• 31:39Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah.

• 31:39Speaker 01

  But yet it's not.

• 31:40Cameron Hanes?

  Mm-hmm.

• 31:40Speaker 01

There's so many little things. I think that's, that's interesting to try to figure it out. And then once you figure it out, it's so advanced, you know, that it almost does it for you.

• 31:50Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah.

• 31:51Speaker 01

And I think that's kind of cool.

• 31:53Cameron Hanes?

  No, it is.

• 31:53Speaker 01

  You know?

• 31:54Cameron Hanes?

It is. I, I like, could, could you ever see yourself hunting?

• 31:58Speaker 01

  Yes.

• 31:58Cameron Hanes?

  Really?

• 31:59Speaker 01

  Yes.

• 32:00Cameron Hanes?

  Really?

• 32:00Speaker 01

  Yes.

• 32:01Cameron Hanes?

What would you want to hunt?

• 32:02Speaker 01

Well, um, you know, you said the uh, the geese, right? What was it? You said the, no, the um, the elk. Yeah, the elk.

• 32:10Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah.

• 32:10Speaker 01

That would be cool. Well, I think it would be cool to do what you did, which is, you know, uh, kill an elk. You know, say sorry dude, and then eat it.

• 32:18Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah.

• 32:19Speaker 01

You know, I think that'd be, that'd be wild.

• 32:21Cameron Hanes?

That's the circle of life right there. That's how it's supposed, that's how it's intended to be.

• 32:25Speaker 01

What about, what about that show Survivor?

• 32:28Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah.

• 32:28Speaker 01

  Do you ever see that?

• 32:29Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah. Yeah.

• 32:30Speaker 01

Cause they're really out there trying to survive, even though there's like a crew.

• 32:34Cameron Hanes?

  Right.

• 32:34Speaker 01

  Right?

• 32:35Cameron Hanes?

It teaches them to be resilient, for sure. I mean, there's a couple of shows like that. There's Survivor, then Alone. Have you ever seen Alone?

• 32:41Speaker 01

  Uh-uh.

• 32:42Cameron Hanes?

Alone is they drop them off like in Alaska. And sometimes they kill stuff up there.

• 32:46Speaker 01

  Wow.

• 32:46Cameron Hanes?

Like they have a bow. This one guy killed a moose.

• 32:49Speaker 01

  Wow.

• 32:50Cameron Hanes?

Like one of those big moose. And so he ate on that moose and, but yeah, it's like survival. But hunting teaches you that. Hunting teaches you to be in the mounds, to be aware, to look at things differently, like as a predator. And as somebody just trying to survive the elements.

• 33:06Speaker 01

  To be predated.

• 33:07Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah.

• 33:08Speaker 01

I mean, it's kill or be killed.

• 33:10Cameron Hanes?

But most people are so unaware of their surroundings, whereas a hunter, that's all hunting is.

• 33:15Speaker 01

  Hmm.

• 33:15Cameron Hanes?

Is you're observing, you're, you're feeling the wind, you're looking at how the, the weather coming in, you're wondering how it's going to change things. You're watching the animals react. Why are they doing what they're doing? So you're kind of like breaking it down and learning, and you have to be immersed in the whole experience to do that.

• 33:31Speaker 01

  Right.

• 33:32Cameron Hanes?

Most people are like, do, do, do, do, do.

• 33:34Speaker 01

  No, it's a feeling.

• 33:35Cameron Hanes?

  They have no clue.

• 33:36Speaker 01

Well, it's the same thing with stand-up.

• 33:37Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah.

• 33:38Speaker 01

Well, yeah, of course. I mean, every crowd's different. Just like every, you know, you know, you going out is always different.

• 33:45Cameron Hanes?

  Right.

• 33:45Speaker 01

I'm sure every, you know what I mean? You don't know your playing field, right?

• 33:49Cameron Hanes?

  Changes.

• 33:49Speaker 01

Yeah. So as a stand up, you go out there and you feel the audience.

• 33:52Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah.

• 33:53Speaker 01

And you don't know where the you're gonna go.

• 33:54Cameron Hanes?

  Right. That makes sense.

• 33:55Speaker 01

And you still don't, I still don't know where I'm gonna go. And also I always tell comedians, I say,

• 34:02Speaker 01

uh, the most important, this is what I learned from at the Comedy Store when I used to watch Sam Kinison and Richard Pryor. Because those were the, to me, the masters when it comes to likability on stage. When it comes to getting the audience on their side, which was listen to the, the audience tells you where to go. You don't tell the audience where to go. Does that make sense?

• 34:22Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah, yeah.

• 34:22Speaker 01

So for instance, with you, with you, you go out there, you don't know what's gonna be there.

• 34:27Cameron Hanes?

  Right.

• 34:27Speaker 01

So you gotta figure it out based off of what you're presented.

• 34:30Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah.

• 34:31Speaker 01

  Is that correct?

• 34:31Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah, yeah, absolutely.

• 34:33Speaker 01

With the stand up, it's the same thing.

• 34:34Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah.

• 34:35Speaker 01

Sometimes you get hecklers, sometimes you get people that are really quiet.

• 34:38Cameron Hanes?

  Right.

• 34:38Speaker 01

Sometimes you get people that you kind of adapt it and you figure it out when you're in the mix.

• 34:42Cameron Hanes?

Yeah, no, but probably not all comedians are good at that. Don't they have their normal set list and then they, some of them are just kind of going through, you know, checklist type stuff?

• 34:53Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 34:54Cameron Hanes?

Whereas the good ones, like you're talking about with you and like with Sam Kinison and things like that, they're react, it's like,

• 35:00Speaker 01

  Reacting, yeah, it's reacting.

• 35:01Cameron Hanes?

  It's a dance or a relationship.

• 35:04Speaker 01

And I say that with, again, I surf and I've been surfing since I was 11. It's the same thing with dropping into the wave. Like you don't tell the wave where to go, the wave's gonna tell you where to go. So it's the same thing with, I assume you, when you get out there, you don't go, I'm gonna do this. You wait to see what the around you.

• 35:23Cameron Hanes?

  Well, first of all.

• 35:24Speaker 01

  That's how you react, right?

• 35:25Cameron Hanes?

If the wind is at my back.

• 35:27Speaker 01

You don't know, it's different all the time, right?

• 35:29Cameron Hanes?

Those animals know I'm coming before I get there.

• 35:31Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 35:31Cameron Hanes?

Cause my scent is blue to them and they smell that, that's how they survive. So first of all, I gotta figure out which way the wind's going, see where I think the animals might be, and then get the wind right to be in my face. So it's like, yeah, I can't change the wind. So right, I have to adapt to it.

• 35:47Speaker 01

Yeah. And I think that's the way with dance partners and, you know, I think that's life, you know? Life gives you obstacles every day and you kind of have to adapt to it, you know?

• 35:56Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah.

• 35:56Speaker 01

But it was cool meeting you because I met you at Joe's Club. The mothership and then I told you I was gonna hit you up.

• 36:03Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah, I know.

• 36:04Speaker 01

  And then, uh.

• 36:05Cameron Hanes?

I thought I'd never hear from you again.

• 36:06Speaker 01

No, I told you for sure I was gonna hit you up.

• 36:08Cameron Hanes?

  That was pillow talk.

• 36:09Speaker 01

No, here I am, wearing a dead skunk on my head. You know. But I don't have else to talk about. I think we're good, right?

• 36:17Cameron Hanes?

  We're good, other than.

• 36:19Speaker 01

  James?

• 36:19Cameron Hanes?

We hate this guy. Obviously, everyone hates him.

• 36:22Speaker 01

No, he's cool. James is cool. You need a tech guy around.

• 36:25Cameron Hanes?

But he's got a couple of questions, probably.

• 36:27Speaker 01

Okay. Dude, we're not answering like, what was my favorite movie I did?

• 36:31Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah, you frickin idiot.

• 36:32Speaker 01

That's not gonna be like. Yeah, what was it like to wease the juice? No.

• 36:36Cameron Hanes?

  Come on.

• 36:37Speaker 01

  No, what are the questions?

• 36:38Speaker 02

How about a little more on your life story?

• 36:41Speaker 01

  Nah.

• 36:42Cameron Hanes?

  Gay.

• 36:44Speaker 02

Okay, well, we always do this one, so you'll like this one. Have you ever played marry, kill?

• 36:50Speaker 01

Marry, kill? No, I have not.

• 36:53Speaker 02

  Okay, so.

• 36:54Speaker 01

  What's marry, kill?

• 36:54Speaker 02

I'm gonna give you three things.

• 36:56Speaker 01

Would I come, would I marry him or kill him?

• 36:58Speaker 02

Yeah, so it's like a one night stand.

• 37:00Speaker 01

  Okay.

• 37:00Speaker 02

Marry is for the rest of your life and kill is never again.

• 37:03Speaker 01

  Okay.

• 37:04Speaker 02

Okay, so your three things are stand up, making movies, and trolling people on the internet.

• 37:11Speaker 01

Okay, so the first one is stand up.

• 37:13Speaker 02

  Yeah.

• 37:13Speaker 01

  And it's either, which means?

• 37:15Cameron Hanes?

  You'll, you'll, you'll one night stand.

• 37:18Speaker 01

  Okay.

• 37:19Cameron Hanes?

Marry, you're gonna do it the rest of your life.

• 37:20Speaker 01

Okay, so marry is on the first one.

• 37:22Cameron Hanes?

  And kill is?

• 37:23Speaker 01

Okay, I already said that. Marry is the first one. I'll do it the rest of my life.

• 37:27Cameron Hanes?

  Okay.

• 37:27Speaker 01

  Stand up for sure.

• 37:28Cameron Hanes?

Stand up, rest of his life, okay.

• 37:30Speaker 01

  Absolutely.

• 37:30Cameron Hanes?

Movies, are you one, one night stand or never again? Are you gonna kill?

• 37:35Speaker 01

  No, marry. You can't marry.

• 37:37Cameron Hanes?

  You can't marry too.

• 37:39Speaker 01

  What, these are your rules?

• 37:41Cameron Hanes?

Say, okay, we're gonna marry, marry?

• 37:43Speaker 01

No, I love acting. Acting is so much fun.

• 37:46Cameron Hanes?

But is it more fun than stand up?

• 37:49Speaker 01

It's a good, good question. Acting is a lot harder than stand up for me.

• 37:53Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah.

• 37:54Speaker 01

It's, it's kind of like that Bo thing.

• 37:56Cameron Hanes?

  Right.

• 37:57Speaker 01

There's a lot of little intri- teeny, teeny intricacy things that you have to know about acting.

• 38:03Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah.

• 38:04Speaker 01

  It's very, you know.

• 38:06Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah.

• 38:07Speaker 01

Stand up is for me, it's like. You know what I mean?

• 38:10Cameron Hanes?

Acting is like a lot of work, dude.

• 38:12Speaker 01

It's a lot of work, but it's very fulfilling.

• 38:14Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah.

• 38:15Speaker 01

  Because if you can.

• 38:17Speaker 01

I mean, if you look back on all my films, you know, I prepared, believe it or not, I prepared for every one. Before I went into it, it wasn't like I just showed up, even though it seemed like I did.

• 38:26Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah.

• 38:26Speaker 01

But it's very, you know, I don't say the word strategic, that's not a great word, but it's very thought out.

• 38:32Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah.

• 38:32Speaker 01

  Before you go into.

• 38:33Cameron Hanes?

  It's not random, yeah.

• 38:34Speaker 01

No, it's not random. And, and I think the, the fulfillment of that, you know, even my Richard Simmons short film, which I worked really hard on, that's on the internet, it's called Court Jester, where I play Richard Simmons. That was a lot of work, you know what I mean, to prepare for that. Because when you watch it, it's not, it's not a whatever, da, da, da, da, da. So acting to me is, it's great because it's really hard.

• 38:59Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah, yeah.

• 39:00Speaker 01

You know, and I love that. It's more, it's more fulfilling.

• 39:03Cameron Hanes?

What about with people online? So where's that? Gonna marry that too?

• 39:08Speaker 01

Yeah. Yeah, marry that too, just because that's like me, what we talked about at the beginning, it's just I like having fun with people.

• 39:16Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah.

• 39:16Speaker 01

I like getting, you know, getting people's reactions. I like walking into coffee shops and sitting there and having people not know who I am, and then just start making weird things, just to say, people look at me like I'm crazy.

• 39:29Cameron Hanes?

  Are you Mormon?

• 39:31Speaker 01

  Um, no.

• 39:32Cameron Hanes?

Cause you married, married, married. You got three wives now.

• 39:35Speaker 01

Oh, well, then, then, then I, I think of that, maybe I should be Mormon.

• 39:39Cameron Hanes?

  I think so.

• 39:39Speaker 01

I think that could be good.

• 39:40Cameron Hanes?

Okay. What else you got, James?

• 39:43Speaker 02

Earlier, you talked about, you know, the importance of mourning and how to handle that. But where do you think comedy falls in and humor falls into that process?

• 39:53Speaker 01

Well, um, I think it's important when we, we lose people and, you know, whether it was my parents or different things, or, you know, you have, first of all, you have to realize that at some point, this whole thing is a rap. Meaning we're all going, you know, it's a short time that we're on this. So how long do you want to play victim in your day to day when something bad happens to you? You know what I mean? It's up here, you have to mourn and you have to be sad and you have to, you know, go through it. But like I said, my parents died and, you know, and I can sit around and mope about it, you know, or I could say, hey, that was an amazing run. Like, let's move forward because that's what my parents would want. You know, your parents

• 40:38Speaker 01

don't want you to be sad. Right. Your parents want you to like, you know, to say, stop being a little pussy. Like, you, you know, I had an awesome run. Now it's your turn. Go do it. Right. And I think it's important that um, we mourn, but we don't sit in it forever. A lot of people like they get over, whether it's divorce or a friendship, a sibling, this or that, whatever it is, they just sit and they stew and that stew kills you. Yeah. You know what I mean? And that's why you got the cold plunge and that's why you got the hot sauna and that's why you do your hikes. Yeah. Because, you know, you have to let go. I've been going to the gym my whole life. It might not look like it. You know, it's not like I'm like this. I don't do peptides and all that shit because I don't know about all that. I know nothing about it.

• 41:23Speaker 01

Yeah. And I'm scared to, to, to do, um, you know, that type of stuff. But, you know, like my dad, like he's been going to the gym. I've been a gym rat since I've been in 10th grade, you know, from high school. Yeah. I've always done some sort of exercise and it's not just for this, it's for this. Right, definitely. And I think that's the most important thing about life is letting go, dude. Yeah, yeah. Letting go, you know? And I think that's, you know, you know, and just being here right now. Because like you said at breakfast, it's not, nothing is guaranteed. No. You know what I mean? It's like, you know, we all have friends that have died of cancer. Yeah. You hear it every day. I found something in my tomb. I had a tumor in my pancreas. I didn't know where and how to take care of that. Yeah.

• 42:04Speaker 01

You know, and um, but I think the most important thing, it sounds kind of corny, just be cool. Yeah. You know, be cool to everyone. You know, someone came up to you at the, uh, at the breakfast place, you were cool to them. Just be nice to people. Yeah. And I think that's the most important thing. Don't be an asshole. And, and, and that's, you know, and, and, and lead with your heart and find something to get you out of bed. Yeah. You know, like you found this, I found this. Yes. And that's the most important. James found.

• 42:34Cameron Hanes?

  Yes.

• 42:36Speaker 01

All right. Good night, ladies and gentlemen. Thank you very much. Can I keep this hat? It's cool, bro. No, I don't want it.

• 42:42Cameron Hanes?

You can't keep it. That was a gift too for me. But I will say, Paulie, it's, you know, you are one of a kind. You are everybody like I followed your career for decades now and you are truly like you're you're an icon and just one of there's nobody like you and I love meeting people who you know everybody's like kind of a different version of somebody else it feels like you aren't. I love it. Yeah, I love it because I get bored with people.

• 43:14Speaker 01

Yeah, Eddie Murphy said that too. I mean, not to like drop names, but you know, I've known him for 40 years. Yeah. And he always said that there's no one like you.

• 43:22Cameron Hanes?

  Yes.

• 43:23Speaker 01

You know, and that's I mean, that hits me sometimes. So when you say that, it makes me feel good.

• 43:27Cameron Hanes?

  It should.

• 43:28Speaker 01

  Thank you. Thank you.

• 43:29Cameron Hanes?

It should because you haven't changed. You've been who you are and I just it it it gives me it makes me feel good. I mean, just seeing you so authentic and unique and it's just that's I I want to embrace people like that. So I thank you. I'm very appreciative of your time and grateful for the time we were able to hang out today.

• 43:47Speaker 01

Well, I didn't know how this was gonna go. You know what I mean? But I don't like to commit. You know, that's probably the reason why I'm single.

• 43:51Cameron Hanes?

  No.

• 43:52Speaker 01

You know what I mean? It's like I wanted I don't know you. You don't know me. We met at Joe's. Joe's our mutual friend.

• 43:57Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah.

• 43:58Speaker 01

You know, we both love Joe and and I told you I was my word. I told you I was gonna hit you up. I hit you up. And it was just flowed and it made sense.

• 44:07Cameron Hanes?

No, it was great. It was great. You did good.

• 44:08Speaker 01

Awesome. Awesome, brother. And your gold tooth is cool. Hey, motherf**er, man. You're a motherf**er now. Motherf**er shit.

• 44:15Cameron Hanes?

  That's right.

• 44:15Speaker 01

Hey, brother, my man, brother. Hey, man, tooth, tooth.

• 44:21Cameron Hanes?

All right. Well, should we go sauna?

• 44:23Speaker 01

  Yeah, let's go sauna.

• 44:24Cameron Hanes?

  All right. Later. Keep that.

• 44:26Speaker 01

  Later, dudes.

• 44:30Cameron Hanes?

All right, hunters, listen up. Hunting season's here and the last thing you want is to tap out before the action starts. That's why I'm dialing in with Mountain Ops Ignite. they're mission-driven. Every purchase helps feed families in need through Operation Conquer Hunger. Right now, you can get 20% off your purchase, just go to mountainops.com and use code CAM at checkout. This season, don't settle for sluggish. Ignite the hunt. One of the hardest parts of hunting is glassing big country to find animals you know are there. That's why I run Sig Sauer Zulu Imaging Stabilizing Binoculars when I'm covering a lot of ground and need to see everything. These binos are a complete game changer. After long climbs, when your heart rate's up and your hands aren't steady, shaky glass makes it hard to stay locked

• 45:51Cameron Hanes?

in. With image stabilization, everything settles down. You can slow the process, really pick apart the country, and catch movement you'd normally miss. I've found more animals and saved a ton of time because of these binos. I actually just talked about how impressive this technology is on the most recent episode of the Joe Rogan Experience. Once you use stabilized glass, it's hard to go back. It gives you a real advantage when you're hunting big, open terrain. And here's the rare part, optics companies almost never offer discounts, but Sig is giving listeners of this podcast 10% off. Just use code CAM at checkout. So if you're serious about

• 46:31Cameron Hanes?

glassing and want the same edge I've had the past couple of seasons, head to sigsauer.com, grab a pair of Zulu binos, and use code CAM for 10% off. Sig Sauer Zulu Binoculars. See more, miss less, keep hammering.
