I am actually kind of in debt because of the past election.

• 1:07Caleb Hammer?

If Kamala was president as well, would you be saying the exact same thing? That because of the last election, you have lost money?

• 1:12Speaker 04

I'm actually really good with numbers. And I get told all the time that I should have been an accountant, and as much as I don't want to...

• 1:20Caleb Hammer?

Why are you crying about being an accountant?

• 1:21Speaker 04

Because I don't like the job. It's gotta be better somewhere else. It has to be better anywhere else.

• 1:48Speaker 04

Hi, I'm Lynn. I'm 31 from Kansas City, and this is Financial Audit.

• 1:54Caleb Hammer?

Yes, it is. Thanks for coming down to Austin. What do you do up there for a living?

• 1:59Speaker 04

So I'm a hairstylist. I own a salon and we're building out some stuff.

• 2:03Caleb Hammer?

  They are curled?

• 2:04Speaker 04

  Yes, they are curled.

• 2:05Caleb Hammer?

I see. Yeah, that's what a hairstylist would do. Very good.

• 2:09Speaker 04

  I'm trying to perm it.

• 2:11Caleb Hammer?

Trying. Is that a multi-week process?

• 2:13Speaker 04

It is. Your hair is not healthy enough to do it.

• 2:16Caleb Hammer?

  Huh?

• 2:16Speaker 04

  Yet.

• 2:17Caleb Hammer?

  Yours?

• 2:17Speaker 04

  Yep.

• 2:18Caleb Hammer?

  You said yours.

• 2:19Speaker 04

Yeah, talking about me. My hair is-

• 2:22Caleb Hammer?

You talk to yourself in the yours?

• 2:24Speaker 04

  I absolutely do.

• 2:26Caleb Hammer?

  Okay.

• 2:26Speaker 04

I have third-person conversations all the time.

• 2:28Caleb Hammer?

  Hopefully not out loud?

• 2:30Speaker 04

I work for myself, so kind of.

• 2:34Caleb Hammer?

But there are people in the chair. If you start having conversations with yourself while you're doing their hair, they might be afraid that you're the one with razors and scissors.

• 2:42Speaker 04

They are just as crazy as I am, actually. It's fantastic.

• 2:45Caleb Hammer?

Oh, okay. Okay. Very good. So you must be making good money, business owner, I'm hoping?

• 2:50Speaker 04

  Um, not as much.

• 2:52Caleb Hammer?

  Mm-hmm.

• 2:53Speaker 04

We've got kids at home and they're kind of the priority.

• 2:56Caleb Hammer?

Okay, when you say we, see, I don't know. Are we talking we as in you?

• 3:00Speaker 04

Me, yes, sorry. I have kids at home and they are my priority. So I-

• 3:05Caleb Hammer?

  Well, that's fine.

• 3:06Speaker 04

I make so that I can show up for them. I choose to make a little bit less.

• 3:12Caleb Hammer?

  So it's just you?

• 3:13Speaker 04

  It is just me.

• 3:14Caleb Hammer?

Okay, good. How many? Well, not good, but whatever. It's what it is. We're dealing with it. How old are they? How many kids?

• 3:20Speaker 04

  Two, nine and 11.

• 3:22Caleb Hammer?

  So, what's going on?

• 3:24Speaker 04

So I am actually kind of in debt because of the past election.

• 3:29Caleb Hammer?

  Why?

• 3:31Speaker 04

I know it's kind of crazy.

• 3:33Caleb Hammer?

Well, at least you acknowledge it. What the [bleep] do you possibly mean? I don't know anything that happened the day of election or inauguration that was like, all of a sudden, here's a loan. The federal government, please have it.

• 3:49Speaker 04

So most of my clients are affected by how the economy works, including my-

• 3:53Caleb Hammer?

Well, that's everything in the service-based economy.

• 3:55Speaker 04

Including my boyfriend's work. He's in construction.

• 3:57Caleb Hammer?

  Oh, you have a boyfriend?

• 3:58Speaker 04

  I do.

• 3:59Caleb Hammer?

  Okay.

• 3:59Speaker 04

Um, and his income has been affected drastically and so-

• 4:04Caleb Hammer?

  Or is he in construction?

• 4:06Speaker 04

  What do you mean?

• 4:06Caleb Hammer?

What kind of construction does he do?

• 4:08Speaker 04

He mostly does flooring, but he's done whole home remodels. He does some handyman work here and there. Uh, but a lot of that work has slowed down as well.

• 4:17Caleb Hammer?

That's interesting because if I'm not mistaken, especially when, uh, home prices were soaring as materials were a little more expensive, people also stopped renovating as quickly and that was in the high inflation time. Wouldn't that have infected his job as well about three, four years ago?

• 4:34Speaker 04

  So.

• 4:34Caleb Hammer?

And then got a little better for a while and, you know?

• 4:37Speaker 04

For a little while, yes. And we were kind of doing okay at that point. Now we do live separately and we handle our finances all separately.

• 4:44Caleb Hammer?

  You've broken up.

• 4:45Speaker 04

No, we just live separately. We have.

• 4:47Caleb Hammer?

  You say now?

• 4:48Speaker 04

  Yes.

• 4:49Caleb Hammer?

  You were together?

• 4:50Speaker 04

  We are together.

• 4:51Caleb Hammer?

  No, you live together.

• 4:52Speaker 04

  For a short time.

• 4:54Caleb Hammer?

It's usually indicative of a great relationship, moving out.

• 4:57Speaker 04

We did not agree on how some of the debt situations were being handled and to keep.

• 5:03Caleb Hammer?

Also indicative of an incredible relationship.

• 5:06Speaker 04

Outside of that, it's actually wonderful.

• 5:08Caleb Hammer?

Sure. Outside of the things where we agree on life matters, it's great. Uh, it sounds like a nice friends with benefits.

• 5:14Speaker 04

But we, to keep each other from getting tied to each other's debts, we decided to live separately.

• 5:21Caleb Hammer?

What do you mean? You weren't married?

• 5:23Speaker 04

  Yes.

• 5:24Caleb Hammer?

Living together doesn't all of a sudden make it a legally binding thing.

• 5:27Speaker 04

  Common law comes into play.

• 5:29Caleb Hammer?

Are you in like common law marriage?

• 5:32Speaker 04

No, because we end, a big reason to avoid that is, or a big way to avoid that is not living together. We don't share a mailing address.

• 5:39Caleb Hammer?

  Mm hmm.

• 5:40Speaker 04

So it can't be insinuated or taken as we are living together and presenting as a married couple because we aren't and we don't.

• 5:48Caleb Hammer?

So going above and beyond in that. So last election.

• 5:51Speaker 04

  Yes.

• 5:52Caleb Hammer?

I'm a little confused on exactly what you mean by that. Now I know job numbers, jobless numbers, unemployment. Overall, I've covered this in the live streams on the Caleb Hammer Live YouTube channel ever since like the height of the best employee market in the history of basically humanity, uh, about four years ago, you know, jobs gained on a monthly basis has been a steady decline. You know, people. Think the president has a lot more impact than they do. Now you could yell tariffs, you could yell a lot of things, right? Which I'm sure you will.

• 6:21Speaker 04

  No.

• 6:22Caleb Hammer?

  No.

• 6:22Speaker 04

No, I really don't think they can impact as much as people say that they can.

• 6:27Caleb Hammer?

Well, they can, it just takes longer.

• 6:29Speaker 04

  Right.

• 6:29Caleb Hammer?

And even the Federal Reserve, Jerome Powell, who is not the biggest fan of Trump, specifically says, "We will not see the long term, the, the effects of tariffs for like a decently while. It takes a long time to filter through the economy."

• 6:42Speaker 04

  Yeah.

• 6:42Caleb Hammer?

People get hyper political and excited online, they're like, "Mmm," but you know, it's like, it's whatever. But we're on the same trajectory and trend that we have been in terms of job numbers added on a monthly basis.

• 6:51Speaker 04

  Right.

• 6:51Caleb Hammer?

Like, I, I, if, we would be almost in a very similar economic thing we're in right now if Kamala was president as well, would you be saying the exact same thing? That because of the last election, you have lost money?

• 7:02Speaker 04

  Probably.

• 7:03Caleb Hammer?

So you blame everyone but yourselves?

• 7:05Speaker 04

  No, um.

• 7:06Caleb Hammer?

And you can blame economic conditions. I bet people do less home renovations when things aren't as juicy. It's, it's, people borrow for home renovations. Interest rates are still high, even though they've come down a little. Even still, people are less likely to invest in renovating a house when interest rates are high.

• 7:21Speaker 04

I've looked at potentially moving out of the country and it's just never feasible.

• 7:26Caleb Hammer?

What does that make sense for? And, and what, in what way?

• 7:29Speaker 04

It's gotta be better somewhere else. It has to be better anywhere else.

• 7:34Caleb Hammer?

  Anywhere else?

• 7:35Speaker 04

  Anywhere else.

• 7:37Caleb Hammer?

So you'll be moving to Sub-Saharan Africa?

• 7:39Speaker 04

I'm like, what'd he say fuck me for? No, probably not. It's too hot.

• 7:43Caleb Hammer?

  You said anywhere.

• 7:44Speaker 04

  Almost anywhere.

• 7:45Caleb Hammer?

Oh, okay, pushing the goalposts a little bit.

• 7:47Speaker 04

  Just a smidge.

• 7:48Caleb Hammer?

Okay, where's it better for you, salon owner, business owner?

• 7:52Speaker 04

Um, salon owner, business owner? I don't know. I haven't actually looked that far into it.

• 7:57Caleb Hammer?

Pretty well in Europe. I'm sure you really like Europe. Poland, Poland's increasing. Poland's doing very well. But you know what happened if you employed other, uh, people in the salon? You know what happens? If you wanna fire them, oftentimes depending on what contracts you're on, if you wanna fire them, you still have to actually keep them on for about a month, two months, depending on time.

• 8:18Speaker 04

Well, luckily, my boyfriend doesn't agree with that plan.

• 8:21Caleb Hammer?

Your boyfriend, who you're definitely not gonna get married to and are not connected to in any way whatsoever. So, okay, yeah, so he likes living here. I mean, it sounds like he has his own business, right?

• 8:31Speaker 04

  Yes, he does.

• 8:32Caleb Hammer?

So, yeah, why would he want to leave?

• 8:36Speaker 04

I understand. That's where the, his logic and my logic sometimes don't always mix.

• 8:41Caleb Hammer?

Now, I'm concerned. We can blame economic conditions for certain things, but you went to blaming the election.

• 8:46Speaker 04

Yeah, um, a lot of things.

• 8:49Caleb Hammer?

That, that is just someone who does not take any kind of accountability, or at least any kind of objective intake of information about the economy.

• 9:00Speaker 04

  Yeah, kind of.

• 9:01Caleb Hammer?

If you want to go straight politics about it. There's all, there are certain things if, if, if the if he made it illegal to renovate houses, yes, we could blame that.

• 9:09Speaker 04

I think a bigger part of it is that they, a lot of places are worried about things going into recession.

• 9:14Caleb Hammer?

Yes, and that would happen in the, if it was the other administration too.

• 9:18Speaker 04

Yes, and so they, a lot of stuff comes to a complete halt. It doesn't even just slow down. Like eighty percent of the work disappeared.

• 9:26Caleb Hammer?

Exactly. That's not the last election, though. That is interest rates being high. That's the purpose of interest rates being high. To cool the economy, bring down inflation, and when you cool the economy, you bring it down. And you, usually when interest rates are this high compared to, you know, the average of interest rates in the past decade or so.

• 9:40Speaker 04

  Yep.

• 9:41Caleb Hammer?

When they're this high, statistically, a recession follows. So no

• 9:44Speaker 04

It's about when it all started.

• 9:45Caleb Hammer?

Jerking off the president. I don't give a about that. But when you're going and you're blaming something on something like that instead of actual, you know, objective information.

• 9:55Speaker 04

It's the thing that makes it puts all of it together.

• 9:59Caleb Hammer?

  It's a cope.

• 10:00Speaker 04

Because so many people stopped, so many of the businesses that he was doing work with and contracting with completely shut down.

• 10:07Caleb Hammer?

  Businesses as well.

• 10:08Speaker 04

They completely shut down. So all of that work disappeared entirely for him.

• 10:13Caleb Hammer?

Businesses that shut down. And also, what is this matter? This is your boyfriend. This isn't you. And you guys aren't married together. You're not dual income. Like, I'm sorry, that sucks. I'd give him a handshake and a hug, but this isn't you.

• 10:23Speaker 04

  Because the goal long term.

• 10:25Caleb Hammer?

About you and your business. You said you're not doing well.

• 10:27Speaker 04

  No.

• 10:28Caleb Hammer?

  And that's the last election?

• 10:30Speaker 04

Yes, it's gotten much worse with the last election. People do still have hair, but the grocery prices at least, I might have gone up drastically. And they are having to now choose going to the grocery store, getting their hair done on a regular basis.

• 10:43Caleb Hammer?

Depends on the food items specifically. You know, the food item that went up the highest in cost this year so far?

• 10:49Speaker 04

  I don't.

• 10:50Caleb Hammer?

  Coffee.

• 10:51Speaker 04

  Probably.

• 10:51Caleb Hammer?

  Why?

• 10:52Speaker 04

  I don't know. I can't drink it.

• 10:54Caleb Hammer?

But you're trying to blame everything on can't drink coffee?

• 10:57Speaker 04

  No.

• 10:58Caleb Hammer?

  Is your body Why?

• 10:59Speaker 04

Uh, I have heart problems. I can't have caffeine.

• 11:02Caleb Hammer?

  Don't do that. Okay, yeah.

• 11:04Speaker 04

We avoid it at all costs.

• 11:06Caleb Hammer?

  Oh, good. We.

• 11:07Speaker 04

  We.

• 11:08Caleb Hammer?

  You. Um, coffee.

• 11:11Speaker 04

  Yes.

• 11:11Caleb Hammer?

A lot of people thought tariffs. I thought tariffs.

• 11:14Speaker 04

  Yeah.

• 11:14Caleb Hammer?

Then I actually looked into things instead of just blaming the last election.

• 11:19Caleb Hammer?

Bad season in Brazil where we get a lot of our beans.

• 11:22Speaker 04

  Was it really?

• 11:23Caleb Hammer?

  Yes.

• 11:24Speaker 04

  Huh.

• 11:24Caleb Hammer?

  Lots of drought issues.

• 11:26Speaker 04

  That makes sense.

• 11:27Caleb Hammer?

Dramatically affected the supply dramatically affects the price when you're actually interested in learning instead of immediately going into politics of good guy, bad guy, my team, your team. You actually get to learn things and blame things. Some food prices are down, some food prices are up. Coffee is dramatically high. Eggs went high, have relatively come back down, not perfectly.

• 11:46Speaker 04

  Right.

• 11:46Caleb Hammer?

Meat is up. Um, some produce berries are down.

• 11:50Speaker 04

  Yep.

• 11:51Caleb Hammer?

Are you suggesting that everyone in the median United States in your area is choosing, you know, oh, let's make sure we choose our steak over getting a haircut? Yes, you're on the supply of services. You're on, you're on the end of services that like people wouldn't go bougie over in a downturn. And people are a little more nervous now. So I can, I can appreciate that to a certain extent, but you are over exaggerating the potential impact of what things are like at this exact moment. This isn't great recession.

• 12:19Speaker 04

However, it still, uh, has impacted us severely.

• 12:23Caleb Hammer?

  Us, who?

• 12:23Speaker 04

My, my family, my children, myself and my children. And all other hairstylists.

• 12:28Caleb Hammer?

  Tell me what's happened.

• 12:29Speaker 04

I have a lot of this debt. Because we are, my significant other and I are trying to start a business. We are building out some salon suites.

• 12:39Caleb Hammer?

  The economy is so bad.

• 12:40Speaker 04

  We, um.

• 12:41Caleb Hammer?

Wait, but your own salon is still working. Why are you building up more?

• 12:44Speaker 04

I have a salon suite that I work in and is licensed as its own salon. We are trying to.

• 12:49Caleb Hammer?

You have like a booth in a salon is what you're saying?

• 12:52Speaker 04

Nope. I have a whole private room like this room. It's an entire private room.

• 12:56Caleb Hammer?

It's one of those buildings you walk in, there's a ton of private rooms.

• 12:59Speaker 04

  There's only five.

• 13:00Caleb Hammer?

  Okay. So.

• 13:01Speaker 04

  It's very small.

• 13:01Caleb Hammer?

There's only five in this little building. Gotcha.

• 13:03Speaker 04

And it's more of a small.

• 13:05Caleb Hammer?

But what I'm explaining is correct. It is one of those places.

• 13:08Speaker 04

  Yes.

• 13:08Caleb Hammer?

Yeah. Yeah, sometimes there's a little hair massage booth. Sometimes there's a little, yeah.

• 13:13Speaker 04

Eh, some of them are offices.

• 13:16Caleb Hammer?

Exactly. It's a little rent a space. Got it.

• 13:18Speaker 04

  Sure. Um.

• 13:20Caleb Hammer?

And you're trying to get more, but yours isn't successful.

• 13:23Speaker 04

We're trying to get more so that we can have other renters that can come in and rent those spaces.

• 13:30Caleb Hammer?

So you're trying to buy real estate or you're gonna sublease?

• 13:33Speaker 04

Right now, we're gonna sublease. We have tension to.

• 13:36Caleb Hammer?

But if the economy is not good right now, if your entire justification for why you're not doing well is because people are not willing to go spend on hair, why would you go rent units for hair being done that you would sublease out? Cause if it was, if yours was impacted because of the overall economy, it'd affect everyone. Now, I'm a little skeptical to a certain point. Some things are impacted. Don't get me wrong. I want to be very real about that. And one of the things people will cut on on are, you know, services and things like that. But you know, personal appearance, that is one of the things that people do still care about and will spend money on. I'm skeptical of you, the hours you're putting in, the price comparison in the area.

• 14:12Speaker 04

  Yeah.

• 14:13Caleb Hammer?

What research have you done, price comparing in the area for what you offer versus what the median is?

• 14:17Speaker 04

So there are, I think, 13 hair salons in town and I am on the like lower side of average price wise.

• 14:26Caleb Hammer?

  Hmm.

• 14:27Speaker 04

  Haircuts.

• 14:28Caleb Hammer?

You're making me even more skeptical. Something's wrong.

• 14:30Speaker 04

Haircuts in my town range between 45 and 75 dollars.

• 14:36Caleb Hammer?

  And you are?

• 14:37Speaker 04

I'm at for haircuts at the 45 dollar range. Some color services.

• 14:41Caleb Hammer?

Something's wrong, because they would, but people will still get their haircut. That is an objective reality.

• 14:45Speaker 04

  Yes.

• 14:46Caleb Hammer?

They will go to the cheaper one. If they're not going to you, there is something more wrong than you're willing to admit.

• 14:51Speaker 04

Most of my services are color services.

• 14:54Caleb Hammer?

Okay, well, yeah, people are gonna cut back on that.

• 14:56Speaker 04

Exactly. And that's where the majority of my income comes from.

• 14:59Caleb Hammer?

  Change your business.

• 15:00Speaker 04

Help me do that? I don't know how to do that.

• 15:03Caleb Hammer?

Focus on cutting hair. You just already answered that yourself. What do you mean? You just answered that yourself.

• 15:10Speaker 04

I do cut hair. I just don't have, I don't have any just haircut clients.

• 15:15Caleb Hammer?

That's what we're focusing on building. That's what you're doing. Any kind of meta advertising on social media posting.

• 15:20Speaker 04

Yeah, I don't do a whole lot of that either.

• 15:22Caleb Hammer?

Well, yes, why would you do that as a business, huh? It's almost like the things that you immediately tried to blame aren't what's actually holding your business back. It's almost like you are not serving the clientele on what the market is demanding. Who would have thought?

• 15:33Speaker 04

I struggle to remember to do that. Cause it's a lot to manage.

• 15:40Speaker 04

It is a lot to manage.

• 15:43Speaker 05

• 16:14Caleb Hammer?

Paper, pen, shut the up. What the, what kind of bullshit excuse is that? I struggle remembering things and staying organized too. I set myself reminders on my phone endlessly.

• 16:25Speaker 04

  I raised two kids.

• 16:28Speaker 04

I raised two kids and managing all of their stuff is difficult on my own.

• 16:34Caleb Hammer?

People who've had kids or anything. That's never happened. That has never happened ever through the entire multi hundreds of thousands of years of human existence. What 250,000 years? I forgot.

• 16:44Speaker 04

  I don't know. I couldn't tell you.

• 16:46Caleb Hammer?

  You have kids?

• 16:47Speaker 04

  Yeah.

• 16:48Caleb Hammer?

  Uh huh.

• 16:49Speaker 04

  I manage them by myself.

• 16:50Caleb Hammer?

Oh my goodness. No one's ever done that. You'll get sympathy. You'll get sympathy from me to a certain extent, but you blame everything on anything outside of what you're doing. You can set a phone reminder. You having kids doesn't take that away.

• 17:04Speaker 04

It's harder to manage doing that on top of taking care of them and doing everything to run.

• 17:11Caleb Hammer?

So you set a reminder. That's what I'm saying. Having kids does not prevent you from doing this.

• 17:19Caleb Hammer?

Boom, and then you set a reminder. It's as easy as that, dude. Kids does not take that away. Your life is a little more hectic, but you also have a boyfriend. What are we doing? How many hours a week do you work?

• 17:29Speaker 04

  Um, so I average 20 to 25.

• 17:31Caleb Hammer?

Okay, there's another failure. Number two. These, these things you want to sublease, do you already have them?

• 17:36Speaker 04

Um, so we have the space that we're building out each of the units.

• 17:40Caleb Hammer?

Okay, so how many units are you building?

• 17:43Speaker 04

  Seven. So it'll be-

• 17:45Caleb Hammer?

  Are these seven individual rooms?

• 17:46Speaker 04

  Yes.

• 17:47Caleb Hammer?

So you already have, what's the square footage of this?

• 17:50Speaker 04

Uh, the whole, the whole unit, the whole large unit we have is 1,400 square feet.

• 17:55Caleb Hammer?

Okay, so this is gonna be quite tiny rooms. Okay, got it?

• 17:58Speaker 04

They're actually larger than some of the other ones.

• 17:59Caleb Hammer?

And how many of you guys had this?

• 18:00Speaker 04

Um, a year. Just over a year.

• 18:04Caleb Hammer?

The [__] is wrong with you?

• 18:05Speaker 04

  A lot.

• 18:06Caleb Hammer?

  What's taking you so long?

• 18:07Speaker 04

A lot is wrong with us.

• 18:08Caleb Hammer?

  Us, as in you?

• 18:10Speaker 04

Me and my boyfriend, since that's what we're working on together.

• 18:14Caleb Hammer?

Yeah, that might be projecting onto him. Why is this taking so long?

• 18:19Speaker 04

  Um, so-

• 18:20Caleb Hammer?

  It's been a year. Oh, it's been 14 months, over a year.

• 18:23Speaker 04

  It has been.

• 18:23Caleb Hammer?

  Oh, for [__] sake!

• 18:25Speaker 04

I know, I said the same thing. Um, we were in a car wreck. Me, both my kids and my boyfriend, in August of last year. We signed the lease-

• 18:34Caleb Hammer?

  Last year?

• 18:35Speaker 04

Yes. We signed our lease August 1st.

• 18:37Caleb Hammer?

If you set August this year, I would be like, okay. August last year, I'm sure that was traumatic, I'm sure that's sad. I'm confused, why has this not been built out in a year?

• 18:45Speaker 04

Uh, because along with the loss of income and the car-

• 18:49Caleb Hammer?

What was the loss of income?

• 18:50Speaker 04

With all the thing, with his work all slowing down, because it's something we're doing together.

• 18:55Caleb Hammer?

You shouldn't. Why are we mixing relationship, dating, not even marriage into a business?

• 19:00Speaker 04

  But we're doing it anyway.

• 19:01Caleb Hammer?

Uh, it's gonna work as well.

• 19:03Speaker 04

  Hopefully.

• 19:04Caleb Hammer?

  No, you call yourself "we."

• 19:06Speaker 04

Sometimes. It'll be fine. Uh, but we were in a car wreck in August last year, so we signed our lease August 1st. And August 4th, we were in a car wreck.

• 19:15Caleb Hammer?

  But this was last year.

• 19:16Speaker 04

It was. Um, I have my, hands are stuck. My ability to do my job has been a little bit less. Um, his income had really died down, so-

• 19:29Caleb Hammer?

That doesn't make any sense, though. That doesn't make any sense because the election wasn't even happening in August. So if it had already died down.

• 19:35Speaker 04

  Preparing for it.

• 19:36Caleb Hammer?

This is cope. Blaming things on politics is just so stupid.

• 19:39Speaker 04

Ideally, though, we were gonna have it built out.

• 19:42Caleb Hammer?

Well, sure, okay, take six months, that's fine, but it's been nine months since, it's been now 10 months since the beginning of the year. August was halfway through last year. So, okay, recovery, sad, absolutely, I get it. Things aren't absolutely great after that hard situation. I mean, I know you drive, we had a conversation about it before we filmed. So it's not like you're completely dramatic, you're like, you're, you're like, come on, you drive. You're, you're back on top.

• 20:06Speaker 04

  Yes, mostly.

• 20:08Caleb Hammer?

Come on, 10 months this year has been 10 months.

• 20:11Speaker 04

  Yes.

• 20:11Caleb Hammer?

So 14 months since signing, but 10 months this year.

• 20:14Speaker 04

  Yes, because it did.

• 20:16Caleb Hammer?

Why the f**k haven't you done anything? How much does it cost? What are you investing into this thing that you can't even make work yourself?

• 20:21Speaker 04

  So originally, the-

• 20:23Caleb Hammer?

It sounds like a horrible idea. What's your lease term?

• 20:25Speaker 04

  Um, we've got a three-year lease.

• 20:27Caleb Hammer?

Oh, and you're already a year in. Buddy, you're gonna have to increase your revenue by, your, your f**k rent by 33% just to break what you're supposed to be making in the first place.

• 20:36Speaker 04

  Yeah.

• 20:38Caleb Hammer?

  What's your monthly cost?

• 20:40Speaker 04

  1,400 is rent, which-

• 20:42Caleb Hammer?

Oh! In what way, what money do you bring in on a monthly basis, working 20 hours a week?

• 20:47Speaker 04

So that actually, he pays, usually he pays the rent and utilities.

• 20:52Caleb Hammer?

  Lucky you have the simp.

• 20:53Speaker 04

Sure, he fights me on a lot of decisions.

• 20:56Caleb Hammer?

Well, I'm sure, because this is ba- horrible.

• 20:59Speaker 04

  It's fine.

• 21:00Caleb Hammer?

Girl, 14 months, $1,400, nothing to show for it. How close are we being done?

• 21:05Speaker 04

It's awful. We've got a thousand, about a thousand dollars more that we need to put into it, so we can get inspections.

• 21:12Caleb Hammer?

  Probably.

• 21:13Speaker 04

No, it's about a thousand. Because it's just materials. We have pretty much everything and he's doing the work, he's in construction, so he's actually really great at what he's doing.

• 21:22Caleb Hammer?

Right, taking time and money away from what, dude, it's, it's at least setting something you own, you're trying to sublet, your entire business is subletting, this is not great.

• 21:31Speaker 04

The goal is to purchase the building, the current building owner is actually retired.

• 21:35Caleb Hammer?

  Yeah, but you need money.

• 21:36Speaker 04

  We do.

• 21:37Caleb Hammer?

Because retired person doesn't mean they're gonna give it away for free.

• 21:41Speaker 04

  That's actually-

• 21:42Caleb Hammer?

And if we're on the show, you're not doing well.

• 21:44Speaker 04

  No.

• 21:44Caleb Hammer?

And if the boyfriend's money has dried up due to the last election, then good f**k luck.

• 21:49Speaker 04

It is starting to pick back up, a little.

• 21:52Caleb Hammer?

  And whose fault was that?

• 21:53Speaker 04

Catch up, the catching up? I mean, he did a lot of work to get caught up.

• 21:58Caleb Hammer?

I just wanna, I just wanna uh uh make this very clear. When things were bad, it's a politician's fault. When things are good, it was my fault.

• 22:06Speaker 04

No, it was his. He did, he did the catching it. Yeah.

• 22:09Caleb Hammer?

So bad, someone else, good, him.

• 22:12Speaker 04

  Yeah.

• 22:13Caleb Hammer?

  Right.

• 22:15Speaker 04

  This is fine.

• 22:16Caleb Hammer?

Pass, join in the WhatsApp community to stay updated before the big blast. Doesn't matter who president it is, unless they do something that is dramatically affecting your business. Tariffs have affected some businesses.

• 25:20Speaker 04

For sure. It's been really hard to get some of the products that I like to use, some of my clients prefer to use because of where they ship in from. They no longer ship to here.

• 25:30Caleb Hammer?

Believe it or not, you're not the only salon in this entire country. So other people are figuring out a way. I can't speak in on I don't own a salon. But to suggest that you can't, [bleep] off. So he pays all the rent utilities?

• 25:42Speaker 04

He pays the rent utilities for the shop. No, he hasn't missed it.

• 25:45Caleb Hammer?

My goodness, why are you, are you even dating him to date him? Or are you [bleep] businessing him?

• 25:50Speaker 04

No, absolutely dating him to date him. I don't know what I would do in life without him, actually.

• 25:54Caleb Hammer?

And what's this owner gonna sell the building for?

• 25:56Speaker 04

That discussion hasn't entirely been had yet because we are not all there yet. He's not ready to sell it yet.

• 26:03Caleb Hammer?

  Oh.

• 26:04Speaker 04

But that was his deciding factor in picking us to take the space.

• 26:08Caleb Hammer?

Does he know how [__] you are?

• 26:10Speaker 04

No, they get their rent checks on time. So outside of that, they don't need to know.

• 26:14Caleb Hammer?

  Fully building out?

• 26:16Speaker 04

  Full.

• 26:16Caleb Hammer?

Started at 20, ended up going to 30 and then 40 to 50. What the [__]?

• 26:20Speaker 04

  So.

• 26:21Caleb Hammer?

Oh, now it's gonna be upwards to 70? Started at 20, went to 70?

• 26:24Speaker 04

  Yeah.

• 26:24Caleb Hammer?

  See, that's you. That's not, that's not.

• 26:26Speaker 04

  That's actually not.

• 26:28Caleb Hammer?

Come on, tariffs didn't move it from 20 to 70.

• 26:30Speaker 04

  No, it's not tariffs.

• 26:31Caleb Hammer?

Then what the [__] are you talking about?

• 26:32Speaker 04

The building measurements that we got, the building measurements that we got originally, we had built a whole business plan around it. 1400.

• 26:41Caleb Hammer?

And then utilities, I'm gonna call 16.

• 26:43Speaker 04

Um, utilities are actually only about 250 right now. If it stays, if it stays empty.

• 26:48Caleb Hammer?

  50. So 16, so once it goes up, okay.

• 26:51Speaker 04

  Oh, yeah.

• 26:51Caleb Hammer?

I'm gonna say 1750. Dude. So 63,000 is your entire cost of that and then the 70,000 build out.

• 27:00Speaker 04

  Yep.

• 27:01Caleb Hammer?

And then your inspections will, and then you're gonna have about a year and a half. So in your year and a half, essentially what you have to do,

• 27:16Caleb Hammer?

you need to bring in just to break even, $7,388.

• 27:21Speaker 04

  Yes.

• 27:22Caleb Hammer?

  A month.

• 27:23Speaker 05

• 27:53Speaker 04

  Yes.

• 27:57Caleb Hammer?

Good luck. No one rents something for 1,500 in sub leases for $7,300, $400 a month. That is not, you will lose money. Let's just be clear. No, you will lose money. If your business is failing because the economy's turned down, you're gonna think you're gonna lease out seven units?

• 28:17Speaker 04

  The hope that it was...

• 28:19Caleb Hammer?

This is not going to work.

• 28:20Speaker 04

Gonna overturn, we're gonna get successful people in there and it was gonna all be fine.

• 28:25Caleb Hammer?

Sure, you might get some people in there 7,400 hours a month just to break even for the year and a half you'll have left? No.

• 28:32Speaker 04

  Maybe.

• 28:33Caleb Hammer?

What, what are you renting per unit for, you tit?

• 28:37Speaker 04

  I have two of them.

• 28:41Speaker 04

Rent for each of the rooms is, six of the rooms are 900 a month. And I have one room, it's a double room, so there's two chairs in it, and that is 1,750 a month.

• 28:51Caleb Hammer?

Good fucking luck. What are you renting yours out for?

• 28:54Speaker 04

  580.

• 28:58Caleb Hammer?

  You're so f-

• 29:00Speaker 04

It is not built out as a salon, though. I had to put in all the plumbing and everything, so what we're building-

• 29:07Caleb Hammer?

Even your math doesn't add up to what you need to break even. You're gonna fully lose money, because even you overcharging, let's be honest.

• 29:15Speaker 04

It's actually under for the area.

• 29:16Caleb Hammer?

Come on, you think everything is under. I doubt it. Come on, you're dramatically under where you're renting from. Off.

• 29:21Speaker 04

Oh, I am for where I'm renting from. The closest other set of actual salon suites, though, rents for almost twice as much as we have renting.

• 29:28Caleb Hammer?

Fact check, by the way, only one suite is done.

• 29:31Speaker 04

Yes, one, only one is done.

• 29:31Caleb Hammer?

So I'm being told not to let you make it sound better than it is, because-

• 29:34Speaker 04

Oh god, no. Only one suite is done.

• 29:35Caleb Hammer?

A thousand dollars left. This has cost $70,000. One suite is done, and you say it's a thousand dollars to get the other six up and running?

• 29:42Speaker 04

Nope. It's a thousand dollars to get it to where we can get a fire inspection and get it open.

• 29:46Caleb Hammer?

  What, that one suite?

• 29:47Speaker 04

No. There are other suites that we need to get sheet rock up in and get the ceiling put together, so all of that's about a thousand dollars.

• 29:55Caleb Hammer?

No, it's not. No way. I refuse to believe.

• 29:57Speaker 04

Because of the stuff we already have.

• 29:58Caleb Hammer?

  Buddy, I've done office renovations.

• 30:00Speaker 04

For sure. It's not start from scratch. It's three quarters of the way done. We just have to put it back together.

• 30:07Caleb Hammer?

Good luck. Oh, I have pictures.

• 30:08Speaker 04

Yes, you do have pictures. I know.

• 30:14Speaker 04

I didn't realize we were gonna have pictures, so I just took random snaps the other day.

• 30:17Caleb Hammer?

Are you sure people are gonna pay this money for it? Big guy, we got floating vinyl in millennial gray.

• 30:23Speaker 04

  Yes.

• 30:25Caleb Hammer?

You really wanted to lease out units in 2015? Not 2025?

• 30:33Speaker 04

  I mean, it's 2025, so that's what we're gonna do.

• 30:36Caleb Hammer?

Yes, these are 2015 units, even though they're brand new. On floating vinyl.

• 30:41Speaker 04

Not from what the other suites are in around our area.

• 30:44Caleb Hammer?

You compare to everything. You don't actually try to stand out on the marketplace. That's how you make a killing. You are not gonna be able to make your premium if you're just endlessly... Yours is brand new, full built out.

• 30:54Speaker 04

  Yes.

• 30:55Caleb Hammer?

Floating 70,000 hours for that, I'm sorry, is horrendous.

• 30:58Speaker 04

Well, we originally weren't having to plan on moving walls.

• 31:03Speaker 04

  We had to move walls.

• 31:04Caleb Hammer?

  Oh my, this is...

• 31:05Speaker 04

The original measurements we got were not accurate, so what we built our plan on originally was not having to move walls, so that's where the 20 to 30 came from. And then we got into it and the measurements weren't off by a few inches. They were off by a few feet because someone else did them, and so we had to move walls.

• 31:26Caleb Hammer?

How'd you get to the studio today? I heard you're afraid of Ubering.

• 31:29Speaker 04

I do not Uber when I'm by myself. I drove. I have a rental car.

• 31:33Caleb Hammer?

Why are you afraid of Ubering?

• 31:35Speaker 04

Uh, cuz I'm a single woman traveling on my own. And I can only fight so much, and I have kids to get home to.

• 31:42Caleb Hammer?

What do you think happens to single women in Ubers?

• 31:46Speaker 04

Uh, I've got plenty of people who've almost been kidnapped in them. Not saying everyone does that by any means. Hopefully, it's happening far less. I'm just not willing to risk it. It was also cheaper to get a rental car for the driving from the airport to where I stayed and breakfasted here

• 32:03Caleb Hammer?

  That may have been true.

• 32:04Speaker 04

than it was to get an Uber.

• 32:07Caleb Hammer?

Uh, this, so this guy, seventy thousand dollars, how have we invested this? Where's the money come from?

• 32:13Speaker 04

So, the original plan that we had put together was that boyfriend was going to cover the rent and the utilities. He was gonna take my car insurance, my car payment and my phone bill. And then we were gonna put the remodel stuff all on my credit cards, because I had zero percent on all of them for at least a year when we started.

• 32:36Caleb Hammer?

  It's been seventy thousand dollars.

• 32:37Speaker 04

And then, and then my income was going to go all towards getting those credit cards paid on, so we would essentially use my credit cards to get it all built out. And as we made payments on them, continue using them so we could finish it out.

• 32:54Speaker 04

And then, once it's done, then we, since his income wouldn't have to go on our rent and utilities there anymore, it could go back towards those credit cards.

• 33:02Caleb Hammer?

What comes in from your job? What hits your account on an average monthly basis after expenses?

• 33:07Speaker 04

Um, after expenses, based on my taxes last year, it's about a thousand dollars.

• 33:53Speaker 04

I can flare my nose, too.

• 33:56Caleb Hammer?

  I'm breathing.

• 33:58Caleb Hammer?

  Stressfully.

• 33:59Speaker 04

Hey, every day. Existential dread, every day.

• 34:03Caleb Hammer?

Yes, I would be too if I had a failed business and I'm investing into more, hoping that other failed businesses are able to pay for my failed business.

• 34:12Speaker 06

  Just smile and wave, boy.

• 34:13Caleb Hammer?

What the is wrong with you? A thousand hours a month?

• 34:16Speaker 04

  Uh huh.

• 34:18Caleb Hammer?

  You're a mother, that's unacceptable.

• 34:19Speaker 04

  It's, it's not, that's where it's at right now.

• 34:22Caleb Hammer?

It doesn't have to be. You do not have to be the self-employed queen, a businesswoman of the century on Time Magazine. You can go get a fucking job!

• 34:31Speaker 04

The problem is, one of my children is special needs and to get him to appointments, I-

• 34:36Caleb Hammer?

Buddy, you're low income. I know for a fact you could have assistance.

• 34:40Speaker 04

  Um, we do-

• 34:40Caleb Hammer?

  Especially in a major city.

• 34:41Speaker 04

  We do have-

• 34:42Caleb Hammer?

Especially in a major blue city.

• 34:43Speaker 04

We do have some. I do have food stamps and I do get some child support.

• 34:48Caleb Hammer?

  Child support?

• 34:49Speaker 04

  Yes.

• 34:49Caleb Hammer?

From daddy? How much comes in?

• 34:50Speaker 04

From one of the dads. It's a hundred-

• 34:52Caleb Hammer?

  Oh, there's two dads?

• 34:52Speaker 04

There are. I tried to do better with the second one, but it, it was worse.

• 35:02Caleb Hammer?

  Is it you or them?

• 35:03Speaker 04

Them. Absolutely them. A hundred percent them.

• 35:06Caleb Hammer?

  Okay.

• 35:07Speaker 04

Like, I beat them out in court. A hundred percent them.

• 35:10Caleb Hammer?

Well, that's good, but you call yourself a we, so I'm just, I'm struggling.

• 35:13Speaker 04

  I do. Um-

• 35:15Caleb Hammer?

You also have a little bit of a victim complex.

• 35:18Speaker 04

A little. Been through a lot in my life. Working on it.

• 35:21Caleb Hammer?

  That's what everyone says.

• 35:22Speaker 04

I know. Uh, you wanna know how much child support is? Um, it's a hundred and, I think it's a hundred and forty-eight.

• 35:29Caleb Hammer?

  A month?

• 35:30Speaker 04

  A week.

• 35:31Caleb Hammer?

Oh, thank goodness, cuz that's not much.

• 35:33Speaker 04

  I know.

• 35:35Caleb Hammer?

Times fifty-two divided by twelve, so we'll average it out. It's six forty-one and thirty-three cents a month.

• 35:42Speaker 04

  Roughly.

• 35:43Caleb Hammer?

Why doesn't the other dad give money?

• 35:45Speaker 04

  Uh, job hopping.

• 35:47Caleb Hammer?

  Uh huh.

• 35:48Speaker 04

Yep. There's a whole lot going on in there.

• 35:50Caleb Hammer?

  Uh huh.

• 35:52Speaker 04

When I do have child support from him-

• 35:54Caleb Hammer?

  And food stamps?

• 35:55Speaker 04

  Three hundred and twenty-one.

• 35:57Caleb Hammer?

  Per-

• 35:58Speaker 04

  Month.

• 35:59Caleb Hammer?

  Okay.

• 36:00Speaker 04

  It's been, they-

• 36:01Caleb Hammer?

I'll put that towards the grocery budget at the end. Four thirty-six.

• 36:05Speaker 04

  They lowered the-

• 36:06Caleb Hammer?

  Lindsay said four thirty-six, yeah.

• 36:08Speaker 04

Yeah, it went lower. Cuz I had a renewal.

• 36:12Speaker 04

  But the requirements.

• 36:13Caleb Hammer?

There's so much of this that's your choice, though.

• 36:15Speaker 04

  Some of it, yeah.

• 36:16Caleb Hammer?

You don't need to be doing this self-employed bull. Again, you're not trying to get on the cover of Time Magazine. Who, what are we trying?

• 36:21Speaker 04

  Absolutely not.

• 36:22Caleb Hammer?

Woman power. Like, I don't give a about that.

• 36:24Speaker 04

  Trying to.

• 36:25Caleb Hammer?

  A job.

• 36:26Speaker 04

I'm trying to have a job that I won't lose if I have to go do something for my kids.

• 36:31Caleb Hammer?

What does he have? She, they, probably?

• 36:34Speaker 04

He, um, he's back in regular school this year. We've done online school for two, two years. My oldest is doing it for a third year.

• 36:42Caleb Hammer?

  Why?

• 36:42Speaker 04

Um, because the school district, specifically the school that they were in, tried to tell me that his disability was not a disability. And they wouldn't make accommodations for it.

• 36:53Caleb Hammer?

  Disability?

• 36:54Speaker 04

  So he's ADHD and autistic.

• 36:56Caleb Hammer?

And is this officially diagnosed via a doctor? Then how would the school say that? I'm having a hard time believing this.

• 37:02Speaker 04

  I was.

• 37:02Caleb Hammer?

If you had a diagnosis from a doctor, I don't think a school would say that.

• 37:06Speaker 04

Nope, they did. Uh, they didn't say he didn't have it. They said, it's not an, it's not a disability and we don't make accommodations for it.

• 37:14Speaker 04

So I refuse to let their education fall. So we've been doing school online at home.

• 37:21Caleb Hammer?

Is that gonna be better for an ADHD'd?

• 37:24Speaker 04

Actually, he did really well with it.

• 37:25Caleb Hammer?

Then why you send him back?

• 37:26Speaker 04

Um, there are some holes that were actually missed in his like kindergarten, first grade years that.

• 37:33Caleb Hammer?

Okay, well, he's in school and if he has, he has ADHD autism, the disability that you'd go run and save. I thought he was missing a fucking leg.

• 37:40Speaker 04

  No, God, no.

• 37:41Caleb Hammer?

Rolling downhill. So he has ADHD and autism.

• 37:44Speaker 04

  Yes, but.

• 37:44Caleb Hammer?

Talk about being every child born today. Like, I'm sorry. But if he's got. That's not a job that prevents you. That's not a thing that prevents you from going and getting a job.

• 37:53Speaker 04

  No.

• 37:53Caleb Hammer?

He's not sitting there stroking it out in the middle of school.

• 37:56Speaker 04

But if he's got problems and I've got to go get him or go help deal with him.

• 37:59Caleb Hammer?

Well, then, yes, obviously try to have a good job, good boss.

• 38:03Speaker 04

  Exactly.

• 38:03Caleb Hammer?

You are failing them by making a thousand hours a month because you're trying to build your business. That is a failure.

• 38:08Speaker 04

  And that.

• 38:08Caleb Hammer?

  Like, that is your choice.

• 38:10Speaker 04

  Yes, yeah.

• 38:12Caleb Hammer?

You will find a lot of bosses, a lot of businesses, the business that uh uh uh my family's work for, you know, uh my business specifically, if anyone has an issue, of course, they should go deal with it. That is what would happen. You can find jobs. Not every job is some massive corporate overlord, bank teller, whatever.

• 38:31Speaker 04

You'd be surprised at how many there are.

• 38:33Caleb Hammer?

No, of course there are some. I'm not saying that too. But you live in a major metro area of the United States. I'm not, you saying you can't get a job and you're gonna allow yourself to just make a thousand hours a month while having two kids is unacceptable.

• 38:45Speaker 04

  I didn't say I can't get a job.

• 38:47Caleb Hammer?

Then go get a fucking job.

• 38:48Speaker 04

Um, I'm gonna show up for my kids.

• 38:52Speaker 04

I'm gonna choose to make a little bit less, but I can show up for my kids.

• 38:55Caleb Hammer?

Sometimes showing up is they need resources.

• 38:57Speaker 04

  They do.

• 38:58Caleb Hammer?

  And you are not providing.

• 38:59Speaker 04

They have everything that they need.

• 39:02Caleb Hammer?

You are choosing not to work, so the taxpayer is giving you food stamps.

• 39:07Speaker 04

I'm not choosing not to work. I do.

• 39:09Caleb Hammer?

  Yes, you are.

• 39:09Speaker 04

  I do work.

• 39:11Caleb Hammer?

Come on, you make a thousand hours a month via your choice.

• 39:14Speaker 04

  I do.

• 39:14Caleb Hammer?

  You could go make more.

• 39:16Speaker 04

I could go make more, but then I wouldn't be able to be there for my kids.

• 39:20Caleb Hammer?

They could go make more and yet we subsidize them. Is that fair? If you can, I wanna subsidize the fuck out of people who cannot.

• 39:28Speaker 04

Because I don't wanna be absent from my kids' lives because they don't have another parent.

• 39:32Caleb Hammer?

If you're working nine to five, you're not. Dude, there's single families all over the place and people can have a good life. You're working 20 hours a week. You're not working 40. I don't wanna hear it. If you're working 60, 80, you never see them. Yes, I would be on your side. You're working 20.

• 39:47Speaker 04

Well, it was 60 and 80.

• 39:48Caleb Hammer?

The resources required for them to have a good life. You will not be able to retire by the time they are in, unconsciously born, by the way, they did not really have a choice. By the time they are 40 trying to make their life, mommy's gonna be like, oh, I can't live. They're gonna put their life on hold to support you.

• 40:02Speaker 04

  Absolutely not.

• 40:03Caleb Hammer?

No, this is what everyone says.

• 40:04Speaker 04

  Absolutely not.

• 40:05Caleb Hammer?

You say you don't want that? What do you think they're gonna do? They will. They will. They will be morally obligated. They will. Because you're choosing to go work the job you wanna do right now and using them as an excuse to do it. Let's be honest. Come on, be real. Go get a job. Work 40 hours a week, nine to five.

• 40:23Speaker 04

  I don't want to.

• 40:24Caleb Hammer?

There it is. Government, Kansas, Missouri, take away her food stamps right now. Did you just hear that? Take them away. I'm not even kidding.

• 40:32Speaker 04

  I will say-

• 40:32Caleb Hammer?

You don't want to, [bleep] you. That is not a choice.

• 40:35Speaker 04

No, I really don't want to.

• 40:35Caleb Hammer?

  Huh?

• 40:35Speaker 04

  I don't want to.

• 40:36Caleb Hammer?

Then that is not fair. That is not a choice. Subsidies should be there and even more for those who cannot.

• 40:42Speaker 04

  For sure.

• 40:42Caleb Hammer?

You can and you're choosing not to because you do not want to. And I knew the more and more I pushed on it, we would find out that you're doing this because you want to. Straight up, not because you can. Using ADHD? Using ADHD and autism? Yes, uh, is he able to communicate with other people?

• 40:59Speaker 04

  Yes.

• 41:00Caleb Hammer?

Okay, then I don't want to [bleep] hear it. Come on. He's every gen... Beta. Ever. Gen Alpha, Gen Beta. He is every single one of them born.

• 41:12Speaker 04

  Maybe.

• 41:13Caleb Hammer?

They're all getting diagnosed with this. If he's able to communicate with people and he's able to do things, and you're right, he probably didn't need the accommodations that you're thinking based on everything you're telling us. The more information is unlocked, the more we're finding out he could probably just go to [bleep] school.

• 41:25Speaker 04

Well, he is back in regular school now because he was-

• 41:27Caleb Hammer?

  No!

• 41:28Speaker 04

  Because he was missing things-

• 41:29Caleb Hammer?

  Who would've thought?

• 41:30Speaker 04

That should have been taught when he was in kindergarten and first grade.

• 41:33Caleb Hammer?

  Who would've [bleep] thought?

• 41:34Speaker 04

And we needed help filling those holes.

• 41:36Caleb Hammer?

Well, you would make more money, by the way, getting a babysitter that could wash two hours between school and you getting home. And you going and actually making money like a [bleep] adult. Thirty-one? What a joke.

• 41:50Speaker 04

  I know. It's fine. Everything's fine now.

• 41:53Caleb Hammer?

Take away her food stamps, please.

• 41:54Speaker 04

  It will be fine.

• 41:55Caleb Hammer?

  Please. Please.

• 41:57Speaker 04

  I would like to eventually-

• 41:59Caleb Hammer?

Why are we supporting your choice of not working? It is disgusting. And you blame the last election? What the [bleep] is wrong with you? Blame everyone but yourself.

• 42:07Speaker 04

A lot is wrong with me. I think we established that, though.

• 42:10Caleb Hammer?

By the way, we did the math. You can get a job at Supercuts there and you will make more money.

• 42:14Speaker 04

The closest Supercuts is an hour away from me.

• 42:16Caleb Hammer?

Okay, then the alternative. You're saying there's no alternative an hour away? [bleep] off.

• 42:21Speaker 04

  There's not a

• 42:22Caleb Hammer?

Oh, yes, there is. There's no way. We have Googled it.

• 42:24Speaker 04

Because Supercuts does haircuts and color, and there's nowhere else that does haircuts and color.

• 42:28Caleb Hammer?

Dude, I don't care about what you want to do. I care about you making money.

• 42:30Speaker 04

  I understand.

• 42:31Caleb Hammer?

  Then I don't give a

• 42:33Speaker 04

I want to go to work and not want to jump off a cliff.

• 42:35Caleb Hammer?

I don't care. Take care of your fucking kids.

• 42:37Speaker 04

  I do.

• 42:38Caleb Hammer?

Be a mother. No, you don't. No, you're milking the taxpayer because you're a spoiled brat.

• 42:42Speaker 04

I would actually like to get off of those things.

• 42:45Caleb Hammer?

No, you wouldn't. You'd go do it.

• 42:46Speaker 04

  God, no.

• 42:47Caleb Hammer?

  What?

• 42:47Speaker 04

No, not God, no, to get off. I would. I have applied. I have actually tried to. I want to get. Working behind the chair has been very difficult. Um, so I'm trying to figure out what I need to do to get into a different career field in the next five-ish years.

• 43:05Caleb Hammer?

I'll get you a course career certification, accounting, something like that. A lot of people have used that to get into new career fields or boost things.

• 43:12Speaker 04

I'm actually really good with numbers, and I get told all the time that I should have been an accountant. And as much as I don't want to.

• 43:21Caleb Hammer?

Why are you crying about being an accountant?

• 43:23Speaker 04

Because I don't like the job.

• 43:25Caleb Hammer?

  Huh?

• 43:25Speaker 04

  I don't like the job.

• 43:27Caleb Hammer?

We all do things we don't like, believe it or not. Like, even though I really love my job, I particularly didn't want to come in here and film today.

• 43:36Speaker 04

  That's fair.

• 43:37Caleb Hammer?

I didn't want to deliver subs for Jimmy John's many times. I didn't want to do sales calls. I didn't want to do product management meetings. I didn't want to go to school. I did it because I'm a big boy. You're crying that you don't want to? I'm so sorry. I'm so sorry. I've never called someone out for crying on the show because almost, actually, every other time someone has cried, I have found it reasonable. You're crying because you don't want to do numbers?

• 44:00Speaker 04

  I'm crying because I enjoy

• 44:01Caleb Hammer?

  Off.

• 44:02Speaker 04

I enjoy the career that I've gotten into, and it's sad to have to acknowledge you have to get out of it.

• 44:07Caleb Hammer?

You don't have to. We just saw that there are

• 44:11Speaker 04

It's not even necessarily get out of it because of the finances, but just because of my ability to do the job has gotten harder. It's gotten worse. So it's not something within my control.

• 44:23Caleb Hammer?

If you can't stand behind a chair, what are you able to do?

• 44:25Speaker 04

Well, I can stand behind a chair. I just can't do, like, my income's almost half of what it was, like, years ago.

• 44:32Caleb Hammer?

What are you talking about then?

• 44:34Speaker 04

Because I was able to do extremely complicated, multi-

• 44:38Caleb Hammer?

  Type in your town.

• 44:41Caleb Hammer?

Type in your fucking town. I don't want to hear us. I feel like it's victim complex to the extreme. I just can't handle. Apparently, allegedly, you don't use TikTok or Reddit. I really don't. It's just like you are that to the core.

• 44:56Caleb Hammer?

I'm glad you. Okay, first of all, just come on. You are so close to so much. This is crazy. This is crazy. You're like a couple of second drive to the many deep suburbs of Kansas City. Let's be honest, your bank saving account is probably doing less than your expired gym membership. The national average saving rate is like 0.39% APY. That is basically your money taking a nap. But with today's sponsor, Chime, you can earn 3.5% APY on a high yield savings account. That is over eight times the national average. Let's break that down. $5,000 in a regular savings account might get you 20 bucks in interest a year. With Chime, closer to $175. That's enough for noise cancelling headphones or two tanks of gas,

• 45:38Caleb Hammer?

depending on how things are going. And unlike traditional banks, Chime doesn't hit you with monthly fees. There's no minimum balance and the whole signup process takes less than two minutes. I'd use this to build an emergency fund or start saving for that vacation to Iceland. And right now, you can get up to $350 with a new Chime checking account when you sign up at chime.com/caleb just to try it out. So go to the link in the description box or scan the QR code on screen, sign up in two minutes and start earning that sweet 3.75% APY with Chime's high yield savings account today. You ever have one of those weeks where you swear you'll cook every night and then it's 9pm, you're tired and dinner becomes the Chipotle around the corner. You go, me too. But that's why I've been using Factor, the sponsor of today's video. Factor's been

• 46:23Caleb Hammer?

a game changer because it actually makes eating well realistic. Your meals are fresh, never frozen, and ready in just two minutes. Microwave, done. No dishes, no excuses. And the menu, it's way bigger now with over 80 rotating meals every week with double the seafood, double the protein options, and new global flavors like Mediterranean and Asian-inspired dishes. You can even swap proteins for free, so if you're not a pork chop person, go chicken instead. Factor's meals fit any goal. Whether you're on a high protein plan, tracking calories, or just trying to eat food that's not ultra-processed garbage. I've been bringing them to the studio and honestly, it keeps me from eating like a broke college kid again. So head to facters75.com or click

• 47:21Speaker 04

It's also super convenient because my salon right now is a half a block away from my house. So I can walk there faster than I can drive there.

• 47:27Caleb Hammer?

And you know what? Scissors and Scotch, a local chain, Midwest Cuts, Chris Styles, Scissors Cuts, NA's Barber Shop, Skizzer Scott's, Royal Barber Shop, all the 10-minute drive.

• 47:39Speaker 04

  Barbers. I'm not a barber.

• 47:41Caleb Hammer?

Buddy, I go to a barber shop.

• 47:43Speaker 04

  I know.

• 47:44Caleb Hammer?

Well, get your certification. I go to a barber shop and a woman cuts my hair. You're okay.

• 47:47Speaker 04

That's another 1,500 hours of school and another $20,000 of student loans.

• 47:51Caleb Hammer?

Okay, okay, fine. Scissors Scotch. Scissors Scotch.

• 48:24Speaker 04

  Applied.

• 48:25Caleb Hammer?

You suck? I don't know. There's so many of them.

• 48:28Speaker 04

  I.

• 48:28Caleb Hammer?

I would love to see your resume. I'd love to see how things work because when I hear I applied, just nothing happens. Is this like?

• 48:34Speaker 04

Um, I've applied and I went and interviewed. I was getting ready to have surgery beforehand. So they were, they was, what they told me is they didn't want to hire me right before I had surgery and go on leave. Do what?

• 48:45Caleb Hammer?

  What was your surgery?

• 48:46Speaker 04

Um, I had a partial hysterectomy.

• 48:49Caleb Hammer?

  Oh, okay.

• 48:50Speaker 04

But they didn't want to hire me on right before I had my surgery, not knowing exactly.

• 48:54Caleb Hammer?

Also, there's a great clips in your literal small town.

• 48:57Speaker 04

  Yes, with a horrible owner.

• 48:59Caleb Hammer?

Oh, shut up. There's always, there is never anything in your life that is not an excuse.

• 49:05Speaker 04

Well, there's plenty of things that are my fault.

• 49:08Caleb Hammer?

I wish I would have heard any of them so far in 43 minutes.

• 49:11Speaker 04

That's just one place I'm not willing to work because I've worked at Great Clips before. And I'm not willing to put my life in that position again.

• 49:18Caleb Hammer?

In that position? You sound like you're going and serving on the front lines of Afghanistan. Shut the fu- I'm sorry. What the f- you're in Great Clips?

• 49:27Speaker 04

  Yeah.

• 49:28Caleb Hammer?

You're not building a building with no strap at the top like those old pictures. You're not doing that in that position.

• 49:35Speaker 04

  I would do that.

• 49:35Caleb Hammer?

You're not walking the streets, flashing hole to get some money. Put yourself in that position. Putting yourself in that position is Great Clips? What are we doing?

• 49:45Speaker 04

Mentally putting myself in that position.

• 49:47Caleb Hammer?

Exactly. What are you doing? You're a baby. I'm sorry.

• 49:50Speaker 04

  It's okay.

• 49:51Caleb Hammer?

  I'm not sorry.

• 49:53Speaker 04

It's okay. I'm not sorry either. I'm comfortable with the choices I've made.

• 49:57Caleb Hammer?

Your assistants, you're making choices of not working.

• 49:59Speaker 04

But I do have two other jobs that are just side jobs.

• 50:05Caleb Hammer?

Well, how many hours a week do you put into it? Honestly?

• 50:07Speaker 04

So they're stay- I'm bartending at stadiums, so it's only when there are game days. So it's not even like hours a week. It's just-

• 50:15Caleb Hammer?

  It's also seasonal.

• 50:16Speaker 04

It is seasonal and I just got them a few months ago. I don't- that's- I don't know. Because I don't have a solid average.

• 50:26Caleb Hammer?

What do you- so, okay, one time every other week? Sometimes?

• 50:30Speaker 04

  Sometimes.

• 50:31Caleb Hammer?

And what have you- what have you made from one?

• 50:33Speaker 04

So at one stadium, uh, my paycheck is about 250. And that's for about one game.

• 50:39Caleb Hammer?

  Yeah.

• 50:40Speaker 04

  It averages about that.

• 50:41Caleb Hammer?

  Once or twice a month.

• 50:42Speaker 04

Um, the other one, the paycheck, they actually had payroll super messed up on it. So like my check wasn't what it was supposed to be and it was a lot of back and forth. Um, so if I've put it all together correctly, I think I average a 350 per game at that one.

• 51:01Caleb Hammer?

What do I add to your pay a month?

• 51:03Speaker 04

  I don't know.

• 51:04Caleb Hammer?

Why don't you just actually bartend?

• 51:07Speaker 04

Um, that one, I can't be up that long physically because those shifts are eight hours.

• 51:15Caleb Hammer?

  Can't do anything.

• 51:17Speaker 04

I can do quite a bit. It just has to be shorter shifts.

• 51:22Speaker 04

I'm not gonna push myself to get hurt at work.

• 51:24Caleb Hammer?

  No, just do rush shifts.

• 51:26Speaker 04

  What is that?

• 51:27Caleb Hammer?

  Shifts during rushes.

• 51:29Speaker 04

Oh, maybe. I hadn't heard of that. A lot of places.

• 51:33Caleb Hammer?

Have you never worked in service, food service?

• 51:35Speaker 04

When I was in high school and it always worked around my school schedule. So.

• 51:39Caleb Hammer?

  Oh.

• 51:40Speaker 04

Yes, but no. And a lot of places want me to work on Sundays.

• 51:45Caleb Hammer?

Oh, I feel like I've learned enough about you. I can now put you in a box. I get you. I understand you now. How much debt do you think you have?

• 51:51Speaker 04

Um, it's around thirty to thirty-five.

• 51:54Caleb Hammer?

It's forty thousand, four hundred eighty-eight dollars and seventy-five cents. No, don't take that as a W. You did not guess right.

• 52:02Speaker 04

  No, I know. It's I just I'm closer than I thought I was.

• 52:05Caleb Hammer?

Okay, so again, I what do I add to your stadiums on a monthly basis?

• 52:09Speaker 04

I would just go with five hundred to average it out.

• 52:13Caleb Hammer?

Okay, so two thousand, one hundred forty-one dollars and thirty-three cents.

• 52:16Speaker 04

  Yep.

• 52:16Caleb Hammer?

  Still, uh, nothing.

• 52:18Speaker 04

  Yeah.

• 52:18Caleb Hammer?

I'm sorry, like for especially a major metro. It is what it is via your choice, dude. If you're truly broken, get on disability and I will support that. But I don't believe you're truly broken. I believe you're an endless victim. Based on everything I've learned in this conversation so far, I really do. Oh, come the fuck on. Oh, shut. Come on, what are we doing? You won't go work at Great Clips. I don't want to hear it.

• 52:41Speaker 04

  Yes.

• 52:42Caleb Hammer?

Exactly. How much did you spend last month?

• 52:45Speaker 04

It was mostly on bills, uh, credit, my credit card payments.

• 52:51Caleb Hammer?

  How much?

• 52:52Speaker 04

I'm working on it. Give me a second. Two, four.

• 52:58Speaker 04

Probably close to fifteen to sixteen hundred dollars to pay all the bills and then gas and groceries.

• 53:06Caleb Hammer?

  Yeah, two thousand, two hundred.

• 53:10Caleb Hammer?

Which is more than you make.

• 53:11Speaker 04

  Yeah.

• 53:13Caleb Hammer?

What's your history with that dude?

• 53:15Speaker 04

I actually, this is the first time I have been in debt.

• 53:18Caleb Hammer?

Then why'd you do a credit card transfer?

• 53:21Speaker 04

Because I was running out of the time on my 0% interest, so I just did a balance transfer.

• 53:26Caleb Hammer?

When? First time in debt? Like, hey, this is also still my first time in debt, because I still have my student loans that I borrowed at 18. So what do you mean? What first time doesn't make any sense?

• 53:35Speaker 04

It's the first time I've had, for me, unmanageable debt.

• 53:39Caleb Hammer?

What? First, what is? Like, right now? But when did it start? Like, I don't know.

• 53:44Speaker 04

So honestly, like, all of what you've got on statements, that's all stuff that, from building out the shop. Like, 2/3 of that is from building out the shop.

• 53:52Caleb Hammer?

A shop that literally will not make, even when you sell out all the units you want to rent them for, enough to break even.

• 54:00Speaker 04

That's where we are right now.

• 54:01Caleb Hammer?

  That doesn't make any sense.

• 54:02Speaker 04

It's just where we are right now.

• 54:03Caleb Hammer?

No, I would, a part of me would just actually...

• 54:07Speaker 04

What, forfeit, pay $1,400 a month and leave it empty?

• 54:12Caleb Hammer?

No, almost try to sublease the rest of your lease.

• 54:16Caleb Hammer?

And swallow the 70 as a mistake, because this requires and relies on you renting out every single unit, which I don't know if you're going to.

• 54:24Speaker 04

It does. I have a lot of people interested, but we can't show them because they're not open.

• 54:29Caleb Hammer?

  Interested, uh-huh.

• 54:30Speaker 04

I can't have anyone come in because...

• 54:31Caleb Hammer?

Getting people interested in something you want to sell is the easiest thing ever.

• 54:35Speaker 04

  For sure.

• 54:35Caleb Hammer?

  Selling is hard.

• 54:37Speaker 04

We have a lot of stylists that want to get out from a booth rent situation, or out of an hourly salon like Great Clips, actually.

• 54:45Speaker 04

But we can't let them even come in and look at it because...

• 54:47Caleb Hammer?

  What are their terms?

• 54:48Speaker 04

  My terms or their terms?

• 54:50Caleb Hammer?

  That they would sign?

• 54:51Speaker 04

  One-year lease.

• 54:52Caleb Hammer?

That's so risky. I don't know. Who would do that in their mind?

• 54:56Speaker 04

  It's actually a standard.

• 54:58Caleb Hammer?

I know it is! It is moronic, just like you. You can't, like, you don't make money!

• 55:03Speaker 04

Hey, my lease term where I'm at's 3 years.

• 55:07Caleb Hammer?

  Crazy.

• 55:08Speaker 04

It takes a little crazy to be a hairstylist, doesn't it?

• 55:11Caleb Hammer?

  Big guy. This just isn't.

• 55:14Speaker 04

Everything's fine. It will be fine.

• 55:16Caleb Hammer?

No, you're not even breaking even in the best case scenario. So this doesn't make sense. Can you describe how that's fine?

• 55:22Speaker 04

Cause it's not an option to given.

• 55:26Caleb Hammer?

  That's some delusion.

• 55:29Speaker 04

So I do have something that might make you a little less stressed, maybe.

• 55:34Caleb Hammer?

Is it a pain for me to go get a massage? Cause that might be it. That's all.

• 55:37Speaker 04

No. No, and it won't even pay for me to get a massage, actually. So because of the, I know, sucks. Um, so because of the car wreck,

• 55:48Speaker 04

I, it's still not closed out. I have not gotten a settlement yet because my medical bills were so high. We are actually having to sue the insurance company.

• 55:59Caleb Hammer?

Great. So something you're going to do. Well, that means nothing.

• 56:02Speaker 04

It's been filed. I'm just, it takes time for it to go through all the things. We will.

• 56:10Caleb Hammer?

Maybe. Listen, sure. That's exciting. Um, I will believe it when I see it.

• 56:16Speaker 04

  It's a silver lining, maybe.

• 56:18Caleb Hammer?

Which by the way, if it doesn't get in front of a judge before August 2026, you wouldn't get a single cent.

• 56:22Speaker 04

  Exactly.

• 56:24Caleb Hammer?

The reality is, I'm being told from a conversation with Lindsay, you very much are making on this 30, which is a very not smart way to do it.

• 56:31Speaker 04

  Super risky for sure.

• 56:32Caleb Hammer?

No, it's just objectively stupid because you're living your entire life now. Like there's another 30 coming, which by the way, no, maybe not. I don't know. That doesn't even cover half of what you put into the salon bowl. So I don't want to hear it.

• 56:48Speaker 04

I mean, as of right now, we've only put in about 30 into the salon. It would take another 30 to 40 to completely finish out and have each room ready for renters to come in.

• 57:02Caleb Hammer?

  This is broken.

• 57:04Speaker 04

  Tell me about it.

• 57:05Caleb Hammer?

I am. If it costs that much, cut your loss. A part of me just says, cut the loss. A big part.

• 57:13Speaker 04

  I feel that.

• 57:14Caleb Hammer?

I've cut my losses on some things. Sometimes you need to be mature enough to realize when you need to just be like, oh, I had no idea what I was doing.

• 57:21Speaker 04

Yep. Cause I don't have any idea what I'm doing, but going for it because outside of that.

• 57:27Caleb Hammer?

What? What? Is it pride? What the? Why?

• 57:30Speaker 04

  Um, ideally.

• 57:32Caleb Hammer?

  Agree? Your business in command?

• 57:34Speaker 04

Yes. This is one of the things that we do strongly agree on. No, he's actually extremely intelligent.

• 57:41Caleb Hammer?

  No.

• 57:43Speaker 04

  We just, life decided that.

• 57:45Caleb Hammer?

  No, you did.

• 57:46Speaker 04

Our path was not what our path was going to be.

• 57:49Caleb Hammer?

  You did. You did.

• 57:52Caleb Hammer?

It's not some magical thing that did it. You did. You made the choices that led you here.

• 57:56Speaker 04

  I think the universe plays.

• 57:57Caleb Hammer?

  Shut the up.

• 58:00Caleb Hammer?

What do you think? The universe is just sitting there like, oh, wow. I really care about this person and their salon. What are you talking about?

• 58:05Speaker 04

  No.

• 58:06Caleb Hammer?

You made the choices that have led you here. And if you're not willing to accept the consequences of your actions, you will repeat these mistakes forever. Okay.

• 58:14Speaker 04

Considering most of it is trying to get a business built up so that there's additional income.

• 58:19Caleb Hammer?

Failed. That does, that is, that also, that does not justify it. But in the height, in the height of you doing best, you still lose money. So this doesn't make any sense. If we are able to mathematically figure out that this business strategy, just because you go out there and do a business, doesn't mean all of a sudden it's justified. If I go out there and invest a hundred thousand dollars in a lemonade stand, just because it's getting up a business and running, doesn't mean that is good. That doesn't make any sense. That is not a justification. That is moronic.

• 58:48Caleb Hammer?

What do you think your financial score is zero to 10?

• 59:24Caleb Hammer?

What the is this and why isn't this just a normal statement?

• 59:26Speaker 04

Um, because I could not figure out how to get an actual statement from them. I was able to get statements from a lot of places, but I could not find anywhere through the app to get the statement.

• 59:37Caleb Hammer?

You didn't log in on a computer?

• 59:38Speaker 04

Um, I don't know my login information.

• 59:41Caleb Hammer?

Reset it, you tit. Reset it, you tit. It's so easy.

• 59:49Speaker 04

I didn't want to. I didn't want to. Cause then I have to remember to re-log into it.

• 59:56Caleb Hammer?

Pull it up on your phone.

• 59:57Speaker 04

  Everywhere else.

• 59:57Caleb Hammer?

Pull it up on your phone.

• 59:59Speaker 04

  Right now?

• 59:59Caleb Hammer?

  Right now.

• 1:00:01Speaker 04

Oh, it's searching for service. I don't know what will load.

• 1:00:03Caleb Hammer?

We'll get you on wifi there.

• 1:00:04Speaker 04

  I'm on wifi.

• 1:00:06Caleb Hammer?

  It's in my fucking nose.

• 1:00:08Speaker 04

So would it be a bad time to tell you that I'm also a competitive cheerleader?

• 1:00:17Caleb Hammer?

  Be a weird time.

• 1:00:19Speaker 04

Well, it just goes into my expenses.

• 1:00:21Caleb Hammer?

I just don't understand why I give it.

• 1:00:22Speaker 04

It's gonna show up. It's gonna show up on this.

• 1:00:25Caleb Hammer?

  So you're paying for it.

• 1:00:27Speaker 04

It's just gonna show up on this. It's the first thing you have.

• 1:00:30Caleb Hammer?

You're forcing people to hold you up in the air.

• 1:00:32Speaker 04

I actually hold people up in the air.

• 1:00:33Caleb Hammer?

Yeah, I would, I would encourage that.

• 1:00:35Speaker 04

I, you don't want me in the air. That would be bad.

• 1:00:38Caleb Hammer?

  That's what I'm saying.

• 1:00:40Speaker 04

What would you like to see?

• 1:00:42Caleb Hammer?

  This?

• 1:00:44Speaker 04

  The transactions?

• 1:00:45Caleb Hammer?

Remember guys, she's not working as much so she can spend time with kids and then she spends money so she can go to her competitive cheer. Fuck you. Take away her food stamps yesterday.

• 1:00:58Caleb Hammer?

Oh my, no, this is insane.

• 1:01:01Speaker 04

  I know.

• 1:01:02Caleb Hammer?

What the is wrong with you?

• 1:01:03Speaker 04

  A lot.

• 1:01:04Caleb Hammer?

  Dude!

• 1:01:06Caleb Hammer?

Visa signature? This is crazy. For making $2,141 a month?

• 1:01:14Caleb Hammer?

By the way, I know you're not setting aside money for taxes.

• 1:01:16Speaker 04

  My.

• 1:01:17Caleb Hammer?

Was your boyfriend setting aside money for taxes?

• 1:01:19Speaker 04

That I don't know, because our finances are separate on that.

• 1:01:22Caleb Hammer?

He better. Ten thousand, seven hundred, thirty-three dollars and five cents is insane. Insane.

• 1:01:30Speaker 04

  And that's just one.

• 1:01:31Caleb Hammer?

Yes. What's your minimum monthly payment?

• 1:01:34Speaker 04

Uh, if I can get that, I can show you. Cause I, when I-

• 1:01:38Caleb Hammer?

Kansas City Chiefs, what, I thought you were supposed to get money from there. You're spending there?

• 1:01:41Speaker 04

  No, I don't work for the Chiefs. I don't, I can't see what you're looking at.

• 1:01:45Caleb Hammer?

You don't get to go to the games.

• 1:01:47Speaker 04

I didn't go to the game.

• 1:01:48Caleb Hammer?

Why is a hundred forty dollars spent?

• 1:01:50Speaker 04

  I don't know. Can I see it?

• 1:01:51Caleb Hammer?

What? What is wrong with you?

• 1:01:52Speaker 04

So I can't look at it and see what it is?

• 1:01:54Caleb Hammer?

And then more athletic cheer, oh, it's athletic cheer.

• 1:01:56Speaker 04

  Yeah, KCAC is my athletic-

• 1:01:57Caleb Hammer?

  Hundred forty, hundred forty.

• 1:01:58Speaker 04

  Yes.

• 1:01:59Caleb Hammer?

What the, so that's every other week?

• 1:02:02Speaker 04

So, we have gym fees, which is once a month.

• 1:02:04Caleb Hammer?

  So two eighty?

• 1:02:05Speaker 04

  Yep.

• 1:02:05Caleb Hammer?

  Okay.

• 1:02:06Speaker 04

Gym fees is one forty, and then the competition fees, they take and average them out. Instead of one month, it's five hundred, one month, it's two hundred. They combine all of them and average them out, so-

• 1:02:16Caleb Hammer?

So it's total about three hundred a month, cause then there's also like a thirty dollar thing, so three hundred dollars a month. Reminder, her income is a thousand. She has kids, she's not setting them up for success in any way whatsoever, and then she spends three hundred dollars a month on her competitive cheer. Guys, she gets six hundred, four, no, no, how much in food stamps?

• 1:02:34Speaker 04

  Three hundred and twenty-one.

• 1:02:35Caleb Hammer?

Ladies and gentlemen, we are technically, in every mathematical form, as taxpayers, paying for her to go to competitive cheer. That is disgusting. You are disgusting.

• 1:02:48Speaker 04

  I pay taxes.

• 1:02:48Caleb Hammer?

If we don't need, if this is an indication that we need an audit on our programs, cause here's the thing, man. I'm okay with spending as much as we spend, but I wanna take it away from disgusting motherfuckers like yourself and give more to people that actually need it. That's what we should be doing. This is insane. Missouri Audit, how you are handing out your benefits. This is insane.

• 1:03:11Speaker 04

I mean, they go based on income and-

• 1:03:14Caleb Hammer?

It's disgusting. Income that you're choosing, that's unacceptable, cause you know you can get a better job. You're refusing to go work at a place in your own town. Shut up. And then you spend three hundred hours a month, which is what we give you and subsidize you on competitive cheer? This is disgusting. Like, actually nasty. Thank goodness we're going trillions in a federal debt for this.

• 1:03:39Caleb Hammer?

I like robust social programs. I really do. You ruin it. What's your minimum monthly payment? So stupid. Then you spend your time on this

• 1:03:51Caleb Hammer?

instead of actually working and you use the excuse to take care of my kids.

• 1:03:55Speaker 04

So minimum monthly payment on that is 222.

• 1:03:58Caleb Hammer?

Can I give an honest thing?

• 1:04:00Speaker 04

  Yep. I love honesty.

• 1:04:02Caleb Hammer?

  I don't think you're a good mother.

• 1:04:04Speaker 04

I think it's a really hard judgment to make when you haven't met me around my children.

• 1:04:08Caleb Hammer?

I see what you do financially and in finances impacting a house in the United States of America is one of the leading causes for outcomes in this country for children. I don't think you're a good mother.

• 1:04:17Speaker 04

It's easy to say that when you don't see the situation.

• 1:04:19Caleb Hammer?

I see the finances and I see the financial situation. And the situation is you go spend 300 dollars a month while making a thousand on your own self-care. Instead of them, you don't work.

• 1:04:31Speaker 04

I think it's better for me to go.

• 1:04:33Caleb Hammer?

You live off the government by choice.

• 1:04:35Speaker 04

I think it's better for me to do that.

• 1:04:38Caleb Hammer?

  Via your choice.

• 1:04:40Speaker 04

For sure, because I wanted better for them.

• 1:04:41Caleb Hammer?

I don't think you're acting. This doesn't mean you'll never be a good mother. I think the choices you're making are bad.

• 1:04:47Speaker 04

You can't say that someone's a bad mother when you haven't seen them around their kids. First off.

• 1:04:51Caleb Hammer?

There's many things you can do that are good, but if you were doing something really bad of which you are here, that does take away from the good. It's not a math game of how many goods equals how many bads. It's not.

• 1:05:02Speaker 04

Um, second off, I think it's better for my kids that I'm here.

• 1:05:05Caleb Hammer?

  Not, you're going to cheer.

• 1:05:06Speaker 04

Versus not here because without one thing.

• 1:05:10Caleb Hammer?

Not here, you'll be there every evening if we do this right.

• 1:05:13Speaker 04

To feel human, depression takes over.

• 1:05:17Caleb Hammer?

What? What are you even saying?

• 1:05:21Caleb Hammer?

You're the only human being born on this entire planet that cannot work 40 hours a week.

• 1:05:25Speaker 04

  God, no.

• 1:05:26Caleb Hammer?

  Then shut up.

• 1:05:28Speaker 04

But the intrusive thoughts get The intrusive thoughts get really strong when you don't have one thing that is you outside of your job.

• 1:05:37Caleb Hammer?

So what are you saying? You know what the natural response to that would be? So then what? Give up?

• 1:05:42Speaker 04

  No.

• 1:05:43Caleb Hammer?

  So then what?

• 1:05:45Speaker 04

  I don't know. Keep going.

• 1:05:47Caleb Hammer?

You aren't though. You've given up. You do nothing. You literally are lazy with your work. You are dramatically lazy. You work 40 hours a week. Shut the up. And you spend all your money going to your own cheer stuff. This is bad.

• 1:06:00Speaker 04

I that is less than 5%. I guess it's close to 5% of my total debt is cheer.

• 1:06:08Caleb Hammer?

Cheer? I don't care about debt because the hey, believe it or not, the more you rack up your debt, the less percentage your cheer will be.

• 1:06:17Speaker 04

  Yeah.

• 1:06:17Caleb Hammer?

So shut up. That doesn't matter. That's a stupid thing.

• 1:06:20Speaker 04

  But it does.

• 1:06:21Caleb Hammer?

  It's 30% of your income.

• 1:06:23Speaker 04

  Yeah.

• 1:06:24Caleb Hammer?

So I don't give a percentage of that. You could go blow all your money right now and rack up double the debt and guess what? Your percentage that went to cheer is now half. That doesn't make it good. That's that's a ridiculous argument.

• 1:06:36Speaker 04

  Makes me feel better.

• 1:06:37Caleb Hammer?

Last year, put it all on credit cards.

• 1:06:39Speaker 04

  Did.

• 1:06:39Caleb Hammer?

Planning on blowing at least $3,000 in the next trip.

• 1:06:42Speaker 04

  Yes.

• 1:07:14Caleb Hammer?

You make a thousand a month?

• 1:07:15Speaker 04

  Yes. The goal is to-

• 1:07:17Caleb Hammer?

That is a whole quarter of work. I'm sorry. That is bad, mother. I'm not saying this is an insult. I'm not saying it to bring you down. I'm saying it as like a literal, honest, hopefully a wake up call for you. Not saying it as a dunk. I need you to realize what your impact and your selfishness of what you are doing right now is not what a good mother does. All right, let's talk about one of the biggest money black holes in America. Your forgotten 401k. Yeah, that retirement account from your old job that just wore, you deal with it later. But here's the scary part. Over $2.1 trillion is sitting in lost or forgotten 401ks. That is 25% of all 401k money. Just- Gone because people never rolled them over and the number of abandoned accounts has doubled

• 1:08:01Caleb Hammer?

the past 10 years to around 32 million and it's not just private workers 3 million forgotten TSP accounts from federal employees are getting dust too. That's where today's sponsor capitalize comes in. They make rolling over your old 401k into an IRA stupid easy. No calling HR, no faxing forms, no we'll mail you a check in the next six to eight weeks. They find your old 401k, help you pick or connect an IRA and handle the whole transfer process from start to finish. And with new rules letting private equity into 401ks, things are only getting messier. So the time is now to clean it up. Roll over your old 401k today. • 1:08:46Caleb Hammer?

will your net worth. My mother did the opposite. She went out there and you know what? It actually did suck a little bit through my early middle school for a few years. She, she worked her ass off all day in a low paid medical position under nurses, whatever that is, like nursing assistant or whatever. And then all night, all evening, she locked herself in the basement studying, doing homework and doing online classes for nursing school. Because of that sacrifice, under dramatically lower middle class where we had absolutely nothing to by the time I was graduating high school to where we were just solid middle class because she sacrificed and did that for her kids, for her family. She did that. That's what a good mother does. You're selfishly doing what you want to do.

• 1:09:29Speaker 04

Good mothers also show up for their kids without risk of losing their income entirely.

• 1:09:33Caleb Hammer?

$3,000 going to a trip, a whole quarters worth of your income. It's not a math game of one show up equals I can go blow all the money to invest in my child's future. When you get evicted, they're not going to remember the yippee mom was there.

• 1:09:50Speaker 04

We aren't going to get evicted.

• 1:09:53Caleb Hammer?

Says everyone who's ever been evicted.

• 1:09:57Caleb Hammer?

  Like, I don't know. Like, I don't know.

• 1:10:00Speaker 04

  Technically, we can't get evicted.

• 1:10:03Caleb Hammer?

  Why is the technically?

• 1:10:04Speaker 04

Because my boyfriend owns the house. Paid off free and clear.

• 1:10:09Caleb Hammer?

Okay, so subsidized by him too.

• 1:10:11Speaker 04

  So, we live separately, but

• 1:10:14Caleb Hammer?

  Listen, that's fine.

• 1:10:14Speaker 04

Me and the kids live in the house.

• 1:10:15Caleb Hammer?

Mm-hmm, and that's as long as the relationship stays steady. Based on your past.

• 1:10:20Speaker 04

We're eight years in. We got some off and ons, but we're eight years in.

• 1:10:24Caleb Hammer?

Off and on, sometimes off and ons leads to a permanent off.

• 1:10:27Speaker 04

Yeah. We tried that. It didn't work.

• 1:10:30Caleb Hammer?

  It just screams welfare queen.

• 1:10:32Speaker 04

Yeah, I'd love to get off of it. I really would love to get off of it.

• 1:10:36Caleb Hammer?

You have that choice. You can go do that now.

• 1:10:38Speaker 04

The, I think my big problem with it is you can't, what, what you lose, you can't just make up overnight.

• 1:10:46Caleb Hammer?

  It's 300. Yes, you can.

• 1:10:48Speaker 04

It's 300. My kids have state health insurance.

• 1:10:52Caleb Hammer?

Well, yeah, but even still, to a certain point through the Affordable Care Act, the subsidies are so extreme. Yes, I, dude, I applied for it myself.

• 1:11:00Speaker 04

  We don't qualify for it.

• 1:11:01Caleb Hammer?

  What's why?

• 1:11:02Speaker 04

Well, right now, we don't qualify for it because I don't make enough.

• 1:11:05Caleb Hammer?

No, I'm saying, once you get to that point where the state no longer covers the kids, then you get subsidized.

• 1:11:10Speaker 04

  Right.

• 1:11:10Caleb Hammer?

Where you probably wouldn't be paying a single penny until you at least make a decent amount, of which, yeah, you should contribute.

• 1:11:16Speaker 04

So, when I was talking with the lady about it, working at, even at almost $40,000, we wouldn't qualify for it because it wasn't enough to qualify for any of their plans.

• 1:11:28Caleb Hammer?

Exactly. We're not getting you to make 40. I'm getting you to 50, 60.

• 1:11:31Speaker 04

  That would be great.

• 1:11:32Caleb Hammer?

Well, yes, but you're not willing to work yet.

• 1:11:34Speaker 04

  I'm absolutely willing to work.

• 1:11:36Caleb Hammer?

  This is so stupid.

• 1:11:37Speaker 04

I just need to be able to work and still be there for my kids. Physically be there for my kids.

• 1:11:44Caleb Hammer?

I know. You don't think people who work 40 hours a week are there for their kids?

• 1:11:49Speaker 04

Not as much as I want to be.

• 1:11:51Caleb Hammer?

I'm not gonna hear this anymore.

• 1:11:52Speaker 04

  I'll say it again.

• 1:11:53Caleb Hammer?

You're being selfish. You're being selfish. And you're living off of us. You're welcome because of your selfishness.

• 1:12:00Speaker 04

  I mean, technically, it's Kansas.

• 1:12:02Caleb Hammer?

A lot of the assistance that comes in for food stamps Medicaid is usually a partnership between states and federal government. Food stamps is a little more states.

• 1:12:12Speaker 04

  States.

• 1:12:13Caleb Hammer?

A little more states, but I'm sure what you're getting through the state covering your kids' healthcare is coming substantially through federal government.

• 1:12:21Speaker 04

Oh, the healthcare is probably federal, for sure.

• 1:12:22Caleb Hammer?

Well, there you go. You're welcome.

• 1:12:23Speaker 04

  The food? Probably not.

• 1:12:25Caleb Hammer?

  A little bit.

• 1:12:28Caleb Hammer?

Discover it. What's going on to this? You're purchasing on a card, just like your last card, that is basically maxed out, that you cannot pay off, that is accruing interest. Why would you possibly do that?

• 1:12:36Speaker 04

Um, it just started accruing interest. Again, almost all of that is from trying to get the shop built out. Trying to get it so we can get people in there.

• 1:12:45Caleb Hammer?

And I want to also be very clear, guys, do the math out there for a second. There's nothing wrong with building a business, even if you fail, that happens. There is nothing wrong with being on food stamps. That happens, you know, when someone actually deserves it and they don't have the choice to go work. But here's the reality, guys. We are paying for her kids' health insurance. Good, I don't want a kid to not have health insurance. We are paying for her to eat and get groceries. Good, I want that to happen. But what is she doing with not having to spend money on that stuff? She is then taking it and she is investing in her own business. I.e. how this translates is the government, the taxes you've paid, the taxes I've paid, the millions I've written in checks. Oh, kill me now, that

• 1:13:27Caleb Hammer?

I could use to actually invest in this business and do a lot of damn things, is going so that you can build your own business in a horrible way that is going to collapse and fail?

• 1:13:37Speaker 04

  Maybe.

• 1:13:38Caleb Hammer?

In what way is that considered fair or equitable even? It's not.

• 1:13:42Speaker 04

  Didn't say it was.

• 1:13:44Caleb Hammer?

  It's disgusting.

• 1:13:45Speaker 04

Again, I don't want to be on the things. I hate doing it.

• 1:13:49Caleb Hammer?

Shut up. I don't believe that for a single second. Good thing to say while you're on camera. Listen, you can get on the FIS card, debit card that builds, uh, credit. Uh, so like works like a credit card, but you can only spend with your checking account. So, works like a debit card as well. Oh, good, your payment's fast too. That's wonderful.

• 1:14:07Caleb Hammer?

  That's great.

• 1:14:09Speaker 04

Pretty sure I made it, but okay.

• 1:14:11Caleb Hammer?

Your payment's past due. How long does this take to pay off if you make minimums to payments only without any purchases?

• 1:14:15Speaker 04

Oh, I haven't even done that math.

• 1:14:17Caleb Hammer?

Try to do that math. Just what do you think? God, come on.

• 1:14:20Speaker 04

It's on minimums with the interest and everything. It's probably 20, 25 years.

• 1:14:24Caleb Hammer?

And that's if you do not purchase and you only make minimum. By the way, it's 32 years. You'll be in retirement. Age.

• 1:14:31Speaker 04

  Yep.

• 1:14:33Speaker 04

Which right now I also won't get to do.

• 1:14:35Caleb Hammer?

No via your choice, which will put your kid's life on hold and they will support you. Guess social security will still be around by the time we retire. It will be substantially less. It will be. It will just be dramatically cut and it'll only be going 100% outflow via what's coming inflow and inflow will be less.

• 1:14:53Speaker 04

I'm sure what you're saying is absolutely accurate. I just don't look at it because I'm not there yet.

• 1:14:57Caleb Hammer?

You never will be because you won't look at it.

• 1:15:02Speaker 04

  Probably.

• 1:15:04Caleb Hammer?

Yeah, fees 41 bucks. There's your late fee. Interest is accruing $89.36 to purchases. I don't know the why. What a joke.

• 1:15:15Speaker 04

I had stopped spending on that.

• 1:15:17Caleb Hammer?

Interest, two late fees this year so far on this card. Couldn't see the other one because you couldn't send a statement. You went in, you got some bull and what's price chopper?

• 1:15:26Speaker 04

  Grocery store.

• 1:15:27Caleb Hammer?

When you go in and you get $12.14, is that groceries?

• 1:15:30Speaker 04

  Yes.

• 1:15:31Caleb Hammer?

  Okay.

• 1:15:31Speaker 04

It's usually like last things we need for dinner.

• 1:15:34Caleb Hammer?

  I'll actually believe that.

• 1:15:38Caleb Hammer?

Usually it's bull. I'll believe that.

• 1:15:41Speaker 04

I really don't do a lot of spending outside of like the shop thing. It's, I really do mostly just get my bills paid as much as I possibly can and.

• 1:15:53Caleb Hammer?

  A Menards card.

• 1:15:55Speaker 04

  Yeah.

• 1:15:56Caleb Hammer?

  What's going on with this?

• 1:15:57Speaker 04

  So that's where we go.

• 1:15:58Caleb Hammer?

Those nails looks like they cost a.

• 1:16:00Speaker 04

They are $7 glue-ons from Walmart.

• 1:16:02Caleb Hammer?

  Yeah, not bad.

• 1:16:03Speaker 04

I pulled my, I pulled through my change jar.

• 1:16:05Caleb Hammer?

Uh huh. I mean, I would just go full natural if we literally can't afford to eat, but.

• 1:16:09Speaker 04

That's, yeah, I had, we had. Team pictures.

• 1:16:13Caleb Hammer?

  I would go full natural.

• 1:16:15Speaker 04

And my nails were color stained, so I wanted them to not look hair color stained. So I spent $7. I got some glue on.

• 1:16:22Caleb Hammer?

  Great, more to the cheer.

• 1:16:23Speaker 04

I know. Um, so the Menards card, we get our cabinets and a lot of our.

• 1:16:29Caleb Hammer?

Oh, no, no, this is so.

• 1:16:32Speaker 04

  Sheet Rocket insulation from Menards.

• 1:16:34Caleb Hammer?

So much more just to get to the place where we can rent other units other than just one.

• 1:16:39Speaker 04

  Yeah.

• 1:16:39Caleb Hammer?

By the way, the, I forgot that the discovered, I forgot to say $344.57 is the minimum payment. That includes the past due of 165. Okay, so cross out as normally $165.57.

• 1:16:52Speaker 04

  Yes.

• 1:16:52Caleb Hammer?

But you have to catch up. Okay, now on the Menards card, the balance is $4,124.09. Minimum payment of $171.

• 1:17:02Speaker 04

  Yes.

• 1:17:02Caleb Hammer?

  Interest 200 last month.

• 1:17:05Speaker 04

  So.

• 1:17:06Caleb Hammer?

What are we doing? It's almost maxed out. This is horrible.

• 1:17:10Speaker 04

Yeah, I've made a lot of progress. It was maxed. I've made progress on it. I, that's, there was progress.

• 1:17:17Caleb Hammer?

While making negative progress on the last one, you're just pushing and moving. That's all it's work. That's instead of spending the 87 on the previous card from your checking account, you spend it on your previous card, then use it from your checking account to put on this card. Like, that's, that's how it works. You're just moving it around. You're not actually making progress.

• 1:17:33Speaker 04

Tetris is fun. Money Tetris is stressful, but fun.

• 1:17:38Caleb Hammer?

About a mother that can barely take care of their kids.

• 1:17:41Caleb Hammer?

  Bills.

• 1:17:42Speaker 04

  It is bills.

• 1:17:44Caleb Hammer?

Yes, 300 hours a month to cheer.

• 1:17:47Speaker 04

  Yes.

• 1:17:48Caleb Hammer?

  Bills.

• 1:17:49Speaker 04

Mental health, physical activity, mental health.

• 1:17:52Caleb Hammer?

  Use where you are.

• 1:17:54Speaker 04

  Yep.

• 1:17:54Caleb Hammer?

And get your free mental health coverage.

• 1:17:57Speaker 04

  Can't get it.

• 1:17:58Caleb Hammer?

Yes, you can. I know there's local organizations in, in a major city like Kansas City, you have not looked. I know for a fact.

• 1:18:03Speaker 04

  I have.

• 1:18:03Caleb Hammer?

No, you have not. No, you have not.

• 1:18:05Speaker 04

There might be places that I haven't been able to find.

• 1:18:07Caleb Hammer?

There are, there's just no way. There's no way from any research we've ever done in any metro, when people bring this up, we've always found it. And Kansas City is not a small metro.

• 1:18:16Speaker 04

  No, it's absolutely not.

• 1:18:18Caleb Hammer?

Like, I don't want to fucking hear it.

• 1:18:20Speaker 04

If I can find one, I'd love to. But I also like the physical activity is a big.

• 1:18:25Caleb Hammer?

  Yes, go run!

• 1:18:27Speaker 04

God, no, I have bad knees.

• 1:18:32Caleb Hammer?

Go do anything. Go to the gym. I don't care. You have no excuse. Gym, thirty bucks versus three hundred. I don't want to hear it. This is such bullsh- Too late fees this year so far in this card. No one's surprised.

• 1:18:44Speaker 04

  No.

• 1:18:45Caleb Hammer?

Hundreds in interest. Now that it's all interest occurring, we're talking a thirty percent interest rate.

• 1:18:50Speaker 04

It doesn't actually have a set interest rate on that card.

• 1:18:54Caleb Hammer?

  Goes up and down.

• 1:18:55Speaker 04

  So-

• 1:18:55Caleb Hammer?

  As interest moves.

• 1:18:57Speaker 04

Not necessarily. So like, they have promos where if your purchase is over a certain dollar amount, you can get zero percent interest for six months or-

• 1:19:06Caleb Hammer?

Yeah, but a lot of that is out of it, so it doesn't matter.

• 1:19:08Speaker 04

  But then there's others-

• 1:19:09Caleb Hammer?

This Capital One, bring it up.

• 1:19:13Caleb Hammer?

  Past due fee. Shocker!

• 1:19:19Speaker 04

Trying. When it loads, you'll get it.

• 1:19:22Caleb Hammer?

  Okay. Smaller.

• 1:19:24Speaker 04

  Yes.

• 1:19:24Caleb Hammer?

What's the minimum? Probably twenty-five bucks?

• 1:19:27Speaker 04

  I'm not sure.

• 1:19:28Caleb Hammer?

Auto pay's off. That scares me.

• 1:19:29Speaker 04

  Yes.

• 1:19:30Caleb Hammer?

I'm gonna put thirty for minimum. It's usually what it is.

• 1:19:33Speaker 04

  Yep.

• 1:19:33Caleb Hammer?

  So saver card.

• 1:19:36Caleb Hammer?

Three hundred thirty-nine dollars and thirty-three cents. Okay, so, what's Adventure Academy?

• 1:19:43Speaker 04

  That is-

• 1:19:44Caleb Hammer?

  What's a reading IQ?

• 1:19:45Speaker 04

Those are both things for the kids.

• 1:19:47Caleb Hammer?

What are the library? Those public libraries. You're in a major metropolitan area.

• 1:19:50Speaker 04

  What's the date on those?

• 1:19:52Caleb Hammer?

  Uh, reoccurring.

• 1:19:55Caleb Hammer?

End of, uh, the month prior.

• 1:19:59Speaker 04

  Oh.

• 1:20:00Caleb Hammer?

  Pending Einstein Bros.

• 1:20:02Speaker 04

  That was breakfast this morning.

• 1:20:03Caleb Hammer?

  Park.

• 1:20:06Caleb Hammer?

  Casa Living.

• 1:20:07Speaker 04

It's where I stayed last night.

• 1:20:09Caleb Hammer?

So you went down there and purchased something?

• 1:20:11Speaker 04

  No.

• 1:20:12Caleb Hammer?

Twenty-one dollars is the, uh, wasn't twenty-one dollars to stay there?

• 1:20:16Speaker 04

No, it was like ninety-six something and then the twenty-one was the, the insurance in case I couldn't come on the trip-

• 1:20:23Caleb Hammer?

  Reading IQ, Adventure Academy.

• 1:20:25Speaker 04

  Yep.

• 1:20:27Speaker 04

  That one ran out of

• 1:20:28Caleb Hammer?

You do listen so far, are you spending outrageous amount of money technically compared to many other people know, but you're not compared to many other people. You barely make any money. You're trying to take care of kids. You're spending more money on a couple of things than you should even come close to. It's disgusting.

• 1:20:44Speaker 04

  Yeah.

• 1:20:44Caleb Hammer?

You shouldn't. Because it's all ratio. You made a million bucks a year. You could spend tens of thousands of dollars on both and it would still be less impactful than you.

• 1:20:55Speaker 04

  Oh, yeah.

• 1:20:55Caleb Hammer?

If you go spend hundreds of dollars on bullshit, it's destructive.

• 1:20:58Speaker 04

  For sure.

• 1:20:59Caleb Hammer?

So it doesn't matter the dollar amount necessarily compared to other guests. It matters percentages in your and it's selfish. The things you're getting.

• 1:21:06Speaker 04

  Yep.

• 1:21:08Caleb Hammer?

  City Diamond Preferred.

• 1:21:09Speaker 04

  Yes.

• 1:21:10Caleb Hammer?

  What's going on?

• 1:21:12Speaker 04

  It's a credit card.

• 1:21:12Caleb Hammer?

  It's maxed out.

• 1:21:13Speaker 04

It's a credit card. It's got a $3,500 credit limit. That was what I used when we went to

• 1:21:21Caleb Hammer?

$3,322.96. It went up because you purchased more than the minimum. Minimum being 41, 12 years to pay off.

• 1:21:32Speaker 04

  Probably.

• 1:21:34Caleb Hammer?

I hear that you told Lindsay that you're different than other guests on the show.

• 1:21:37Speaker 04

  A little bit because

• 1:21:38Caleb Hammer?

How? We've had single mothers, many of whom actually work and provide. So you're right. You are different. Other mothers are better.

• 1:21:46Speaker 04

It's different because not all of this. Most of my debt isn't like random, like we're not going on trips and

• 1:21:53Caleb Hammer?

It's still frivolous. It's your desire to build a failed business.

• 1:21:56Speaker 04

Blowing out Christmas is it's a goal to

• 1:21:59Caleb Hammer?

But it's a failed goal. All math fails. So yes, you're different. You made one of the dumbest decisions I've ever seen in the history of this world.

• 1:22:05Speaker 04

  Probably, but now we're here.

• 1:22:07Caleb Hammer?

Yeah, but you can stop. You haven't spent all the way up to the 70.

• 1:22:09Speaker 04

We've got to get it at least

• 1:22:11Caleb Hammer?

No, no, no, no, it is not sunk cost.

• 1:22:13Speaker 04

We've got to get the walls closed.

• 1:22:15Caleb Hammer?

Why? Why do you have to do this?

• 1:22:16Speaker 04

We have to get at least the walls closed and the ceiling put together.

• 1:22:18Caleb Hammer?

This is gonna end and he might not even accept a renewal and then you'll still be underwater by like 10,000. 10,000 that you can't afford. That's 10 months of your income.

• 1:22:26Speaker 04

  Yep.

• 1:22:28Caleb Hammer?

And you're right. You know what? You travel. You know, you travel for your things.

• 1:22:32Speaker 04

  Only once.

• 1:22:33Caleb Hammer?

  Yes.

• 1:22:34Speaker 04

  Only once a year.

• 1:22:35Caleb Hammer?

One coming up. But here's the thing. Here's the thing. Other single mothers travel once a year, a year, but they use it as making memories with their kids. You just do it for your own selfish cheerleading thing that you want to do. For endorphins.

• 1:22:48Speaker 04

  Cause everything else.

• 1:22:49Caleb Hammer?

Not like other guests. You're worse.

• 1:22:50Speaker 04

Everything else is for my kids.

• 1:22:52Caleb Hammer?

No, you're building your business for you. I don't want to hear that. That's a disgusting joke.

• 1:22:56Speaker 04

Because I want it to be a long-term something.

• 1:22:58Caleb Hammer?

It's not. You're already under with at the best case scenario by the end of your lease. That you cannot keep saying that.

• 1:23:05Speaker 04

  By the end of this?

• 1:23:06Caleb Hammer?

And that's the best case scenario.

• 1:23:08Speaker 04

By the end of this lease, yes.

• 1:23:10Caleb Hammer?

And he might not want to renew. You never know. He might sell it to someone else that does not want your type of business.

• 1:23:16Speaker 04

We've got a guaranteed two extensions after our three years is left.

• 1:23:19Caleb Hammer?

Two extensions at what price guarantee? Cause oftentimes those come with price increases.

• 1:23:23Speaker 04

Uh, for uh, $200 on the first one and $400 on the next one. So it'll go from 14 to 16 and then 16 to 20.

• 1:23:32Caleb Hammer?

By the end of a decade break even.

• 1:23:36Caleb Hammer?

  What a legacy.

• 1:23:37Speaker 04

We'll see. If, if we get.

• 1:23:39Caleb Hammer?

You never bought your kids Christmas gifts?

• 1:23:41Speaker 04

I have not ever been able to.

• 1:23:43Caleb Hammer?

So you spend $300 a month on yourself, but you will not get your kids Christmas gifts and give them a nice Christmas. You're selfish.

• 1:23:50Speaker 04

Everybody else in our family gives Christmas gifts.

• 1:23:53Caleb Hammer?

Yeah, but you could too. If you cut back this $300 a month.

• 1:23:56Speaker 04

  I have taken.

• 1:23:56Caleb Hammer?

That is thousands a year. You could give them in Christmas.

• 1:23:59Speaker 04

I have taken my kids on trips. They have chosen, and this is in the past. It's all paid off and stuff.

• 1:24:04Caleb Hammer?

  Nine and 11 year old?

• 1:24:05Speaker 04

I have given them the choice. You guys get presents from everyone else.

• 1:24:09Caleb Hammer?

Bought your boyfriend an expensive pellet grill?

• 1:24:11Speaker 04

  I did.

• 1:24:11Caleb Hammer?

  For Christmas?

• 1:24:12Speaker 04

  One time.

• 1:24:13Caleb Hammer?

  Oh my, ladies and gentlemen.

• 1:24:15Speaker 04

  It is.

• 1:24:16Caleb Hammer?

What is this world? What am I talking to right now? Your priorities are whack.

• 1:24:20Speaker 04

  Sometimes.

• 1:24:21Caleb Hammer?

  Yes, your priorities are whack.

• 1:24:23Speaker 04

But they, they gave them the choice. They gave the kids the choice. I can get you more presents, or we can go visit your friend in Florida. And it was $800 for all three of us to fly around trip.

• 1:24:34Caleb Hammer?

And you could have got them a Christmas as well, if you were not spending $300 a month on you. 3,000 hours going on your little special trip.

• 1:24:40Speaker 04

And they chose to go to Florida.

• 1:24:42Caleb Hammer?

No, you could do Florida and Christmas if you weren't doing your selfish things. You know what a good mother does? She doesn't spend on herself. She only spends on her kids.

• 1:24:49Speaker 04

And decides that her kids have enough from everybody else that they can have an experience instead of a present.

• 1:24:55Caleb Hammer?

I feel so bad for them. They're gonna grow up thinking their mother doesn't buy them gifts.

• 1:25:00Speaker 04

I don't think that's a fair assessment either, because you don't know how much I've put into things for my kids.

• 1:25:06Caleb Hammer?

  Um, mathematically, I kinda do.

• 1:25:08Speaker 04

  From what you have there.

• 1:25:10Caleb Hammer?

Yes, which kinda defines your entire where we are.

• 1:25:13Speaker 04

  For where right now, yes.

• 1:25:14Caleb Hammer?

Yes, that's everything. I don't give a about then. I care about now. This is what everything is led up to.

• 1:25:19Speaker 04

  Find anything I can find.

• 1:25:21Caleb Hammer?

  Kia Sorento.

• 1:25:22Speaker 04

  I do.

• 1:25:23Caleb Hammer?

  Wow, yippee. $13,288.03.

• 1:25:29Speaker 04

  Yes.

• 1:25:30Caleb Hammer?

  Very good. What's it worth?

• 1:25:33Speaker 04

Um, it was worth more, and then we got in the car wreck last year.

• 1:25:37Caleb Hammer?

  What's it worth?

• 1:25:38Speaker 04

And so I think now it's worth around 995.

• 1:25:41Caleb Hammer?

Probably private sale closer to about 11. Yep.

• 1:25:44Speaker 04

  Yeah, so.

• 1:25:45Caleb Hammer?

So you're underwater, not dramatically, but you know, it's not the worst. Your minimum payment seems to be 337.

• 1:25:50Speaker 04

  Yes.

• 1:25:50Caleb Hammer?

  What's the interest?

• 1:25:51Speaker 04

  Well, it's 336 and a change.

• 1:25:53Caleb Hammer?

  33618.

• 1:25:54Speaker 04

  Rent, uh, interest is 49.

• 1:25:57Caleb Hammer?

That's not the worst. Listen, this isn't the worst car. I mean, of course it's out of budget for you, but that's because you make no fucking money via your own choice. So everything's out of budget to you. For most people, I mean, this is a great budget car, and your negative equity position isn't the worst.

• 1:26:10Speaker 04

  Nope.

• 1:26:11Caleb Hammer?

And clearly, the car wreck wasn't so bad that it didn't total it, so.

• 1:26:14Speaker 04

No, it, it didn't, but it ripped the whole back end off and killed a bunch of the sensors.

• 1:26:18Caleb Hammer?

Yeah, but you were able to repair it and still be only underwater by 2,000. So the car wreck, I'm all of a sudden feeling even less sympathy about. No offense. Offense, I don't care. I don't know.

• 1:26:27Speaker 04

I don't know. It takes a lot to offend me, Caleb.

• 1:26:30Caleb Hammer?

I don't care. I mean, I have your consent, so. I'm just, I, I don't know. It's just, everything's out of your budget because you just choose to make no money. It's as easy as that.

• 1:26:42Caleb Hammer?

Is that, is that, is that the end of your debt?

• 1:26:44Speaker 04

  Yeah.

• 1:26:44Caleb Hammer?

  Is the rest checking?

• 1:26:46Speaker 04

  Yeah.

• 1:26:47Caleb Hammer?

Okay, $4.29 in this checking account. Netflix. You. Use YouTube, including YouTube Kids. It's free. Yes, there's ads, I know. But there's ads on Netflix plans as well unless you ad free and you can't afford that. You, simply, if we are funding your food, you can't afford this when there are very good platforms that are free. There are more viewerships on TV. TV alone from YouTube than Netflix. And that's TV, that's not even mobile devices. Okay? Not even computers. TV alone, more people watch YouTube on TV than Netflix. The only platform that wins on TV is Disney Plus and you can't afford that either. So obviously YouTube is good. Use YouTube, cancel Netflix. Unless Netflix gives us a multimillion dollar deal. Just kidding, just kidding, just kidding. Oh, I joke. Spotify?

• 1:27:32Speaker 04

Boyfriend actually pays me, gives me cash to cover the Netflix because he also uses it.

• 1:27:37Caleb Hammer?

  Sugar daddy.

• 1:27:38Speaker 04

  My-

• 1:27:38Caleb Hammer?

  And the Spotify?

• 1:27:39Speaker 04

My dad pays me the $16 a month for the Spotify because he uses it a lot for work.

• 1:27:44Caleb Hammer?

  What about the pretzel truck?

• 1:27:46Speaker 04

The, the pretzel truck is my vice. She's not around very often.

• 1:27:52Caleb Hammer?

  You, I don't give a-

• 1:27:54Speaker 04

  So when she's there-

• 1:27:54Caleb Hammer?

Your vice should be taking care of your kids and you don't. Shut up, shut up. Hey, what'd you go into the gas station and get for $4?

• 1:28:00Speaker 04

Probably a slice of pizza, after tax.

• 1:28:03Caleb Hammer?

  From the gas station?

• 1:28:04Speaker 04

  Which gas station?

• 1:28:06Caleb Hammer?

  QT.

• 1:28:07Speaker 04

Bottle of water and a snack, then.

• 1:28:09Caleb Hammer?

Why? Buy in bulk, pack with you.

• 1:28:12Speaker 04

We do buy in bulk as well.

• 1:28:13Caleb Hammer?

Well, then pack with you. What are you doing?

• 1:28:15Speaker 04

It's usually when I'm nowhere near home. Which doesn't happen often.

• 1:28:20Caleb Hammer?

This is so stupid. This should just always be in your car. I always have it in my car. This is what people here have been doing at the office. Is they've gotten the game, they've gotten the gamer sub pack. Listen, you can't have caffeine. Oh, well, instead of stopping at the gas station, getting their $4 energy drinks, this, these are the free samples that you can get, link below. These are all the energy versions. There's energy free versions. Those are the one I have the hydration drinks. It's so much cheaper. It's like making your own coffee at home. It is 25 cents a serving. 10% off, link in the description below, or get your free samples when you type in code HAY- CALEB. You just- So no more stopping in. 25 cents a serving. I know you're not getting energy drinks, but it's like the same thing. Because then you did the same with Dollar General. Then you're ordering things on Amazon Burlington Stores,

• 1:29:03Caleb Hammer?

Amazon Academy Sports, Dick's Sporting Goods. What the fuck are we doing?

• 1:29:07Speaker 04

Academy and Dick's Sporting Goods were to get what I needed for my jobs at one of the stadiums. They had uniform requirements that I didn't own the things for already, so I had to go get them.

• 1:29:20Caleb Hammer?

You went in and got some bull in Amazon. I'm gonna need to set it that Amazon. Gardner Parks and Recreation, went and got some bull went and got some bull went and got some bull

• 1:30:54Caleb Hammer?

Checking is $4.82. Uh, going out to eat, bull McDonald's, bull bull bull You went in and got some bull You're do, you are doing that a lot.

• 1:31:06Speaker 04

  A little.

• 1:31:07Caleb Hammer?

  A lot.

• 1:31:08Speaker 04

It has been, it has been worse the past couple of months.

• 1:31:10Caleb Hammer?

Are being subsidized by us and you're going and doing that?

• 1:31:13Speaker 04

It has been worse the past couple of months.

• 1:31:16Caleb Hammer?

Great. When we're doing worse, that's wonderful. This has $7 and it's like nothing. Savings 18. And you're literally losing $2 on it. You're not even accruing interest. $2 a month in the service fee. I just don't get it.

• 1:31:33Speaker 04

  Yeah.

• 1:31:34Caleb Hammer?

Okay, so total income, everything together, and this is seasonal. It's gonna end, you know, when football ends, I guess, or whatever sports happening.

• 1:31:40Speaker 04

  End of November.

• 1:31:41Caleb Hammer?

Great. So end of next month, whatever. $2,141.33. Minimum monthly payments is literally your entire income of $9.65.75 via your spending and stupid business decisions that were your choice and make absolutely no fucking sense.

• 1:31:59Speaker 04

  Yes.

• 1:32:00Caleb Hammer?

  Your rent, it's free.

• 1:32:02Speaker 04

  $6.25 on paper.

• 1:32:03Caleb Hammer?

  Do you ever give it?

• 1:32:05Speaker 04

  It's flexible.

• 1:32:06Caleb Hammer?

  Do you ever give it?

• 1:32:07Speaker 04

Gets given eventual, like, if I can't make it.

• 1:32:10Caleb Hammer?

  Is it accruing?

• 1:32:11Speaker 04

If I can't make it all at once, it gets paid.

• 1:32:13Caleb Hammer?

How much debt do you have to it?

• 1:32:15Speaker 04

I think it's caught up right now.

• 1:32:18Caleb Hammer?

  How much is it?

• 1:32:19Speaker 04

  $6.25.

• 1:32:19Caleb Hammer?

  Do you do utilities?

• 1:32:20Speaker 04

  Yes.

• 1:32:21Caleb Hammer?

How much a month? Total, including the internet?

• 1:32:23Speaker 04

  About 200.

• 1:32:25Caleb Hammer?

  Car insurance?

• 1:32:27Speaker 04

  One...

• 1:32:31Speaker 04

  160.

• 1:32:32Caleb Hammer?

  Phone bill?

• 1:32:37Speaker 04

  $2.59.

• 1:32:38Caleb Hammer?

  How?

• 1:32:39Speaker 04

  How what?

• 1:32:40Caleb Hammer?

  What? How's this so expensive?

• 1:32:42Speaker 04

Because my internet is built into my phone bill. $5. I've got my phone. I have a house phone for my kids because it's only $25.

• 1:32:52Caleb Hammer?

Dude, once these phones are paid off, if, if, if T-Mobile's good in your area, switch to Helium. Those are the towers that Helium uses. There's literally a free plan if you don't use much data, but you can also just use a cheap $15 plan and use that as well. I mean, this is like crazy. It's like, come on.

• 1:33:07Speaker 04

  It is a lot.

• 1:33:08Caleb Hammer?

Pay off these phones, figure it out. You can't afford that. It's not even close to something you can afford. Well, food stamps, okay, will take $300 away from what you need to put to it, but you still need to put in about...

• 1:33:18Speaker 04

I think outside of food, we spend about two to 250 on groceries outside of the food stamps.

• 1:33:23Caleb Hammer?

Yeah, I was gonna say about 300, cuz no more going out or getting some bull TP phone, anything else you and your kids need should be about 200, toothpaste, whatever, sports activities, all that good stuff, 200. Medical health or any copays, I don't think so. Okay, savings, no?

• 1:33:37Speaker 04

  No.

• 1:33:37Caleb Hammer?

  Gym, no?

• 1:33:38Speaker 04

  Nope.

• 1:33:39Caleb Hammer?

Okay, well, what I am doing is putting in gym for 50 dollars and you're getting rid of your 300 dollar bull That's the reality. There is, it's not an option. Subscriptions, looks like they're paid for, don't have to worry about it. You don't have any pets, please?

• 1:33:51Speaker 04

  I have three dogs.

• 1:33:52Caleb Hammer?

No, no. Oh, that's disgusting. That is disgusting. You can't take care of them. What, how old? What are the, what are the ages? What are the health?

• 1:34:01Speaker 04

  12, nine, just turned three.

• 1:34:04Caleb Hammer?

Okay, for the three-year-old, what's the health?

• 1:34:06Speaker 04

  Perfect.

• 1:34:07Caleb Hammer?

We're gonna get him pet insurance. It's gonna be good pet insurance cuz you can't afford to take care of him. If you get sex, 50 bucks.

• 1:34:15Caleb Hammer?

How much pet food on a monthly basis?

• 1:34:17Speaker 04

Um, we ended up getting food every like six weeks. That's I think 50 dollars a bag.

• 1:34:25Caleb Hammer?

Okay, I'll call it like 40 then.

• 1:34:30Caleb Hammer?

Anything else that needs to be in your budget that I have not taken into account?

• 1:34:32Speaker 04

  I don't think so.

• 1:34:35Caleb Hammer?

Tracker, we don't make enough money. I mean, this is, this is, this is just, this is just it.

• 1:34:39Speaker 04

It's not even surprising to me.

• 1:34:40Caleb Hammer?

Can I call your boyfriend on the post-show?

• 1:34:42Speaker 04

  Yeah.

• 1:34:42Caleb Hammer?

I'm gonna call your boyfriend and I need to just confront him and just, he needs to push her to the right thing. This, this is the reality. This is the reality cuz here's the thing. I mean, 2,849 is what you need to survive in 75 cents. It's like, what are you doing? So you're underwater dramatically. We, we've known the answer. I think the audience has known the answer since about 30 minutes in. I don't give a about what you want.

• 1:35:01Speaker 04

  I know.

• 1:35:02Caleb Hammer?

I'm sorry. You're a single mother. Sometimes single mothers see their kids a little less because they go work in order to take care of their kids. You're, you, if you weren't dating this guy, you wouldn't have a place to live. It's just not a thing. You're in your, in their future and everything's

• 1:35:18Caleb Hammer?

You need to go get a real job yesterday and we can help you. We can get you connected with the resume services.

• 1:35:22Speaker 04

  For sure.

• 1:35:23Caleb Hammer?

We can help you get it, but I don't give a what you want. You're gonna go to great clips. You're gonna go wherever. No, yes, you. There's the face. Never mind. I'm done. See, she's not even willing to sacrifice. You go, shut the what a piece of shit.

• 1:35:33Speaker 04

  Great clip.

• 1:35:34Caleb Hammer?

  No, you're disgusting. You're disgusting. You're disgusting.

• 1:35:37Speaker 04

  Other jobs.

• 1:35:38Caleb Hammer?

I wanted to give you, I wanted to give you all these, just fuck off. Listen, you're not even willing to go do that. Just fuck off, honestly. Fuck off. Good luck to your kids. They don't deserve this. You're disgusting. Spending in a budget, overspend zero out of 10 debt. You don't have collections, but for your income, it's absolutely horrendous. Horrendous, obviously, one out of 10. Emergency fund, nothing, zero out of 10. Retirement, nothing, zero out of 10. Real estate, nothing, zero out of 10. • 1:36:23Speaker 07

  How are his finances?

• 1:36:25Speaker 04

  Bro's cooked.

• 1:36:26Caleb Hammer?

  How is he?

• 1:36:27Speaker 04

  I can't.

• 1:36:28Caleb Hammer?

  You can't?

• 1:36:29Speaker 04

  I can't.

• 1:36:29Caleb Hammer?

I know he's in IRS debt.

• 1:36:30Speaker 04

Beyond that, I don't know the total dollars.

• 1:36:33Caleb Hammer?

How much IRS debt he has and you're going into business with a guy with IRS debt. He doesn't even pay his own damn taxes. You're getting funded by the taxpayer and then you go into business with him? We fund that and we allow him to not pay his taxes so that we pay more in taxes. I love this system.
